Gil's Arena RETURNS To Recap A WILD NBA Offseason as Gilbert Arenas & The Gil's Arena Crew re-enter Gil's Arena to break down what went on in and around the association during our summer break. They start the show off by discussing Giannis Antetokounmpo's future with the Milwaukee Bucks as rumors continue to swirl that the Greek Freak wants out of Cream City and react to Giannis continuously putting pressure on the Bucks to improve the team & keep him happy by doing things like adding both his brothers to the end of the bench. The GA Crew & Mr. B give their expectations for the Bucks this season and debate what it would take for Giannis to force his way out of Milwaukee and on to a team like the New York Knicks. Next, they bring back everyone's favorite topic as they highlight the current state of the Los Angeles Lakers and give their expectations for Luka Doncic's first full season playing in purple & gold. They break down what a full season of Luka & LeBron James will look like and debate if the Lakers are doing LeBron dirty by clearly handing the keys over to Luka as the King recovers from injury in potentially the final NBA season of his career. They then highlight another new face in a new place as they break down Kevin Durant's arrival to the Houston Rockets and debate if KD makes the Rockets a true contender as the future NBA Hall of Famer looks to finally guide his team on a deep playoff run for the first time since his days with the Golden State Warriors. Finally, they react to a seemingly productive offseason for Victor Wembanyama as the San Antonio Spurs young superstar was seen training all over the globe and give their expectations for the French phenom's 3rd season, debating if he will finally take the leap into the upper tier of NBA Superstars. [0:05] Speaker 1: Welcome back to season four of Gil's Arena presented by Underdog.
[0:08] Speaker 2: Woof, woof. Woof, woof. Hold up. Woof, woof. Woof, woof. Woof, woof. Woof, woof. Woof, woof. Woof, woof.
[0:17] Speaker 3: Just making sure. Just making sure the woof, woof is
[0:19] Speaker 3: still the woof, woof. How everybody feeling?
[0:22] Speaker 2: Good to see all you fine gentlemen back here on
[0:24] Speaker 2: this couch. Season four. Good. We good? Good. All right,
[0:27] Speaker 2: let's get it. As I said, this is Gil's Arena.
[0:30] Speaker 2: I'm merely a host, Josiah Johnson, better known as King
[0:32] Speaker 2: Josiah on the internet. And as always, we got the.
[0:33] Speaker 3: Legend, Gilbert Arenas here with us. And we have most
[0:40] Speaker 3: of our legendary cast for this very special episode. We're
[0:43] Speaker 3: going to start up first with NBA champion of the world,
[0:45] Speaker 3: Swaggy P, Nick Young. You got new audio, Swaggy? Special forces?
[1:01] Speaker 3: They had you shook out there. I like that.
[1:07] Speaker 1: Representing Tough Crowd, Tough Crowd University, we got Mr.
[1:10] Speaker 2: Big Brandon Jennings.
[1:16] Speaker 3: And on this side of the couch, we have the
[1:17] Speaker 3: distinguished gentleman from Oak Cliff, former number one pick, Kenyon Martin.
[1:27] Speaker 3: And last but not least, the man known as Cima
[1:30] Speaker 3: Terry Larry, NCAA Champion of the World, Rashad McCants, back
[1:34] Speaker 3: here on the couch. Darth Vader with the green saber.
[1:41] Speaker 3: I see the vision. They don't understand. They had to
[1:44] Speaker 3: explain it to some. We got it. Well, we got
[1:47] Speaker 3: a lot in store for y'all. Glad to be back.
[1:49] Speaker 3: It's our first show of the season. Here's what's cracking
[1:52] Speaker 3: in the arena today. The Luka Doncic era has officially
[1:55] Speaker 3: begun for the Lakers, but how will LeBron and Luka
[1:57] Speaker 3: handle the changing of the guard and what could be
[2:00] Speaker 3: Bron's last season in the league? The Rockets now have
[2:03] Speaker 3: their go-to guy and future Hall of Famer Kevin Durant,
[2:06] Speaker 3: but how much will not having a true PG to
[2:08] Speaker 3: start the season be a problem for Houston? And Giannis
[2:11] Speaker 3: put the Bucs on notice once again, but are the
[2:13] Speaker 3: Greek Freaks days really numbered in Milwaukee? But before we
[2:16] Speaker 3: get into all that, as always, this show is brought
[2:19] Speaker 3: to you by Underdog.
[2:20] Speaker 2: New to Underdog? Use code GIL.
[2:22] Speaker 3: Get $ 100 in bonus funds or bonus entries when you
[2:24] Speaker 3: play your first $ 5 entry.
[2:26] Speaker 2: Win or lose.
[2:27] Speaker 3: And to kick off the NBA season, there's a site-wide
[2:29] Speaker 3: KD gimme pick you don't want to miss, plus daily
[2:32] Speaker 3: promos all month long. And as always, if you can't
[2:35] Speaker 3: watch the show live with us on YouTube, we have
[2:36] Speaker 3: audio versions available on Apple, Spotify, wherever you get your podcasts.
[2:41] Speaker 3: So we finally back, took our longest break, I think,
[2:44] Speaker 3: in the history of Gills Arena. But before we look
[2:46] Speaker 3: ahead to season four, we got to look back at
[2:48] Speaker 3: how far we've come.
[2:50] Speaker 2: What's up, Gills? We got our chat back. The chat
[2:54] Speaker 2: is evil? Yeah, the real chat is back. The disrespectful chat.
[2:59] Speaker 2: The disrespectful chat is already back. The hate has already started.
[3:03] Speaker 2: God bless y'all. I thought we lost y'all. We told y'all,
[3:06] Speaker 2: don't change up on us. They said, can you been
[3:09] Speaker 2: on Madison season one? There you go. They said, can
[3:12] Speaker 2: you back? They said, Rashad, I got the Pee Wee
[3:14] Speaker 2: outfit on. Pee Wee Herman outfit. Yeah, so we back.
[3:18] Speaker 2: You know, Josiah still. Look like he need those inpicks.
[3:20] Speaker 2: We good. We good. They back. We good. We back.
[3:23] Speaker 2: Welcome back, baby. Yeah. There you go for the chat.
[3:26] Speaker 2: There you go for the chat.
[3:28] Speaker 3: I've been on my Shakur. Steve was a cutting weight.
[3:31] Speaker 3: And all you lost is seven. Okay, it's tough out here.
[3:35] Speaker 3: It was 15, but.
[3:37] Speaker 2: Had some oxtail. He gained all that back. He even
[3:40] Speaker 2: had me stressed.
[3:42] Speaker 4: He gained that something back when he woke up.
[3:46] Speaker 2: Water wet.
[3:46] Speaker 4: Fucking yawned and took a nap. Expanded.
[3:50] Speaker 3: But before we look ahead to season four, we got
[3:52] Speaker 3: to look back at how far we've come. So when
[3:54] Speaker 3: we first started Gil's Arena in 2023, right after All-Star break,
[3:57] Speaker 3: a lot of people didn't think this show was going
[3:59] Speaker 3: to be shit. They doubted us, even prayed for us
[4:01] Speaker 3: to fail. But sadly, for those misguided souls, those prayers
[4:04] Speaker 3: were not answered. Over the past two plus years, we've
[4:06] Speaker 3: been giving basketball fans around the world the cure for
[4:09] Speaker 3: the common show. Only thing running is numbers, fam, and
[4:11] Speaker 3: business been booming. 400 episodes, more than 900 million views
[4:15] Speaker 3: on YouTube, and billions more across our Gills Arena social
[4:17] Speaker 3: media channels. And Gil, you know this, but for the
[4:19] Speaker 3: first seven months of 2025, we were not only the
[4:23] Speaker 3: top basketball show on YouTube, we were the number one
[4:26] Speaker 3: sports show on YouTube based on total viewership. So everybody here,
[4:30] Speaker 3: crew included, give yourselves a round of applause.
[4:34] Speaker 2: Great job, great job. But then in August, something.
[4:37] Speaker 3: Unfortunate happened, something that broke our ankles, worse than an
[4:40] Speaker 3: AI crossover. Taylor Swift became our new top of the future.
[4:44] Speaker 2: Mrs.
[4:44] Speaker 3: Kelsey made an appearance on her main boo, Travis's new
[4:48] Speaker 3: hype show, temporarily pushed us out the paint.
[4:51] Speaker 2: I ain't gonna lie, that was a great episode. The
[4:53] Speaker 2: life of a show girl.
[4:55] Speaker 3: We here at Gil's Arena like a good challenge, and
[4:57] Speaker 3: we take pleasure in proving our doubters wrong. So like
[5:00] Speaker 3: a wise woman once said, leave one wolf alive and
[5:02] Speaker 3: the sheep are never safe. So with that, we're going
[5:05] Speaker 3: to get back to doing what we do better. There
[5:06] Speaker 3: ain't no damn woman say that. There ain't no damn
[5:08] Speaker 3: woman say that. Get your Game of Thrones up, Gil.
[5:11] Speaker 3: Leave one wolf alive.
[5:13] Speaker 2: Oh, that was a writer. That was a male writer.
[5:19] Speaker 2: All right, with that, let's get back into it.
[5:20] Speaker 3: So we're going to start in the East where the
[5:22] Speaker 3: ongoing saga with the Greek freak and the Buck continues
[5:24] Speaker 3: heading into this season. So after the past few years,
[5:26] Speaker 3: Giannis made it clear he wants to be in a
[5:28] Speaker 3: winning situation, whether that's in Milwaukee or another destination. But
[5:31] Speaker 3: it's stated repeatedly he wants to bring another title to
[5:34] Speaker 3: Cream City and is committed to the Bucks for the
[5:36] Speaker 3: time being. But since winning the chip in 2021, the
[5:39] Speaker 3: Bucks have won only one playoff series with three straight
[5:42] Speaker 3: first round exits. The last one bringing an end to
[5:45] Speaker 3: the freak time era. Bucks waved and stretched. Damian Lillard,
[5:49] Speaker 3: this offseason, he did get all of his $ 113 million.
[5:52] Speaker 2: Shout out to Damian for that.
[5:53] Speaker 3: Damian's last game in the Bucs uniform, sadly, ruptured his Achilles,
[5:57] Speaker 3: but back with the Blazers, looking to get back right.
[5:59] Speaker 3: But according to Shams, in a report by ESPN, the
[6:02] Speaker 3: Bucs and Knicks discussed a potential Giannis trade back in August,
[6:06] Speaker 3: with Shams saying New York is the Greek's feet's preferred
[6:08] Speaker 3: destination if he were ever to dip for Milwaukee. So
[6:11] Speaker 3: Giannis was asked about the Knicks trade. Rumors recently had
[6:13] Speaker 3: this response.
[6:15] Speaker 2: We hear it.
[6:16] Speaker 5: So all the other extra stuff does not matter. I
[6:22] Speaker 5: think I've communicated with my teammates, communicated with the people
[6:26] Speaker 5: that I respect and love that the moment that I
[6:29] Speaker 5: step in on this court or in this facility and
[6:33] Speaker 5: wear this jersey, the rest does not matter. I'm locked
[6:37] Speaker 5: into whatever I have in front of me. Now, if
[6:40] Speaker 5: in six, seven months, I changed my mind. I think
[6:44] Speaker 5: that's human, too. You're allowed to make any decision you want.
[6:47] Speaker 5: But I'm locked in. I'm locked into this team. I'm
[6:50] Speaker 5: locked into these guys, to this group, and to my
[6:53] Speaker 5: coaching staff, and to myself.
[6:56] Speaker 2: Six, seven months.
[6:59] Speaker 3: Bucks received the message loud and clear and are showing
[7:01] Speaker 3: just how committed they are to keeping Giannis happy. So
[7:03] Speaker 3: back in August, they brought back his big bro, Thanasis,
[7:06] Speaker 3: on a one-year deal. And Monday, it was announced they
[7:08] Speaker 3: were signing his younger brother, Alex, to a two-way deal.
[7:10] Speaker 3: It's the first time in NBA history that three brothers
[7:13] Speaker 3: are all on active roster contracts with the same team.
[7:16] Speaker 3: LaVar Ball's dream became the Anacupo Bros' reality. But question
[7:20] Speaker 3: for you, Gil, do you respect Giannis for constantly applying
[7:23] Speaker 3: the pressure to the Bucs?
[7:26] Speaker 2: Of course.
[7:27] Speaker 4: I mean, you know, when you're talking about, you know,
[7:29] Speaker 4: being elite, you know, it's, you can only do so much,
[7:33] Speaker 4: you know, with your ability and your talent, you know,
[7:37] Speaker 4: to get to that next level, to be a champion,
[7:40] Speaker 4: to be consistent. And in playoff realm, it's the organization.
[7:44] Speaker 2: The organization has to want to spend, want to pay,
[7:48] Speaker 2: and have the same vision of winning. So the fact
[7:51] Speaker 2: that he's always.
[7:55] Speaker 4: Showed the idea that he can leave at any moment,
[7:58] Speaker 4: it always kept him saying, all right, we'll try to
[8:00] Speaker 4: make things work. When you think about other teams, just
[8:03] Speaker 4: history itself, if he was in one of those cities
[8:06] Speaker 4: that wasn't into winning, they were just into their money,
[8:10] Speaker 4: They never improved that team. So the fact that he's always,
[8:13] Speaker 4: you know, hey, hey, I'm winning the league. I want
[8:16] Speaker 4: to leave. I want to win. If you're not about winning,
[8:18] Speaker 4: then I need to be out of here. The fact
[8:19] Speaker 4: that he's done it has at least kept him relevant.
[8:24] Speaker 4: Let's shift over to this side, Sean.
[8:25] Speaker 3: Looking at Giannis' situation with the Bucs, he's said for
[8:27] Speaker 3: years now, won a winning team, three straight first-round exits,
[8:30] Speaker 3: haven't got past the second round since winning the chip
[8:32] Speaker 3: in 2021. Do you respect Giannis for constantly applying the
[8:35] Speaker 3: pressure with this Bucs organization?
[8:38] Speaker 1: I'm going to say Respect aside, there's only one winner
[8:43] Speaker 1: at the end of the year. And your aspirations for
[8:47] Speaker 1: wanting to win every year is commendable. But, you know,
[8:51] Speaker 1: only thing he can do is get better every year.
[8:54] Speaker 1: You know, and being a leader, being a voice, being
[8:57] Speaker 1: the face of the franchise, we've all felt like those
[9:01] Speaker 1: type of guys have control over who comes onto the rosters.
[9:04] Speaker 1: And obviously him bringing his, you know, the full house
[9:08] Speaker 1: family matters TGI Friday. He didn't bring them all together.
[9:12] Speaker 1: So that means he has some type of leeway to
[9:15] Speaker 1: be able to have his family reunion, come to the
[9:17] Speaker 1: team instead of going to get some viable pieces to
[9:20] Speaker 1: go help him win the championship that he so willingly
[9:23] Speaker 1: says that he wants to win. Um, it says a lot, um,
[9:28] Speaker 1: it says that, um, he's going to have more pressure
[9:31] Speaker 1: than ever this year. And, um, seeing that they didn't
[9:35] Speaker 1: get to pick up Russell Westbrook, who was readily available.
[9:39] Speaker 1: Then there's a lot of other free ages still readily
[9:41] Speaker 1: available that could be picked up. The Bucs are just
[9:45] Speaker 1: going to be where they've been the last four years,
[9:49] Speaker 1: trying to get in, trying to stay in. They don't
[9:52] Speaker 1: look like a favorite. They got some solid pieces, but
[9:57] Speaker 1: nothing that's going to take them over the hump in
[9:59] Speaker 1: the East.
[9:59] Speaker 2: So good luck. Good try. I don't want to hear
[10:04] Speaker 2: no excuses.
[10:06] Speaker 3: Kenny, what do you think about Giannis constantly applying the
[10:09] Speaker 3: pressure with the Bucs, telling them he wants a winning team,
[10:12] Speaker 3: and if not, he will take his talents elsewhere?
[10:17] Speaker 4: Yeah, when you've won somewhere and you've basically rebuilt that
[10:23] Speaker 4: organization from your hard work and dedication to your craft, yeah,
[10:29] Speaker 4: you can make those demands. You can hold their feet
[10:30] Speaker 4: to the fire. Yeah, because you know what he's going
[10:34] Speaker 4: to bring to the table night in, night out. So
[10:37] Speaker 4: it's not a big ask for him to ask that,
[10:40] Speaker 4: but to go out and execute that ask, has seemed
[10:45] Speaker 4: a tall task for the front office, right? So with
[10:50] Speaker 4: the coaching staff that he's been having to endure after
[10:57] Speaker 4: Budenhoser left, so it's been this roller coaster of an
[11:03] Speaker 4: organization since. He's been a staple of that, but I can't, yeah,
[11:10] Speaker 4: to continuously... have to remind an organization that you're trying
[11:15] Speaker 4: to win, that's never a good thing.
[11:20] Speaker 3: I'll let you back over to this side of the couch. Swaggy,
[11:22] Speaker 3: got a ton of family in Milwaukee looking for you.
[11:25] Speaker 3: Say you don't call them back, but what do you
[11:26] Speaker 3: think about the Giannis situation going on right now? And
[11:29] Speaker 3: him saying he's committed for at least the next six
[11:31] Speaker 3: or seven months.
[11:33] Speaker 6: I think it's Milwaukee. Who wouldn't come to Milwaukee? I
[11:38] Speaker 6: think the East is wide open. It's the time when
[11:40] Speaker 6: Milwaukee wins when other teams are hurt. Giannis is the
[11:43] Speaker 6: best player in the East. It's going to be hard
[11:46] Speaker 6: to stop him. You need to make him happy. I'll
[11:48] Speaker 6: get all his brothers. Get the whole family. Get the
[11:52] Speaker 6: oldest brother that ain't played in a couple years. Get
[11:55] Speaker 6: them all back. Boston ain't Boston right now. Right now,
[12:00] Speaker 6: I think Milwaukee got a chance. As far as it's kept,
[12:04] Speaker 6: they got a chance for sure. I hate to say it.
[12:07] Speaker 2: Mr. Bucks in six. Mr. B. Brandon Jennings.
[12:10] Speaker 3: Milwaukee Brewers fan, too, but we won't pressure you about that.
[12:14] Speaker 3: What do you think about this whole situation with Giannis
[12:16] Speaker 3: and constantly applying the pressure with this Bucs organization?
[12:19] Speaker 7: I mean, I think them signing his brother. I mean,
[12:21] Speaker 7: knowing that both his brothers would be like the 14th
[12:24] Speaker 7: and 15th man. His brother Alex, which he'll be probably
[12:29] Speaker 7: in the G League a lot, so he'll be back
[12:31] Speaker 7: and forth. And then, you know, with the East, the
[12:34] Speaker 7: way the East is, I think anybody right now in
[12:36] Speaker 7: the East has a chance, especially with Giannis being the
[12:38] Speaker 7: best player in the East. You know, this is the
[12:41] Speaker 7: first time Giannis will play with a young team, too,
[12:43] Speaker 7: since his first couple years.
[12:45] Speaker 2: So it's a team that will be getting up and down.
[12:47] Speaker 2: You know, we got Miles Turner.
[12:48] Speaker 7: So, you know, he's a big step from Brooke Lopez
[12:52] Speaker 7: because we had trouble on the defensive end. And, yeah,
[12:56] Speaker 7: we should be top five or top three in the
[12:58] Speaker 7: East or in the league in three-point field goals.
[13:01] Speaker 2: Cool.
[13:02] Speaker 4: I got a question. What does his brother's being on
[13:04] Speaker 4: the staff have to do with fucking winning?
[13:07] Speaker 2: I'm curious. Moral support. Well, well. Phones work.
[13:11] Speaker 1: FaceTime fucking work. Well, he lost the oral support.
[13:14] Speaker 2: This is my thing.
[13:15] Speaker 4: What does that have to do with them affecting winning?
[13:20] Speaker 7: Well, the Nassus has a lot to do with affecting winning. Well,
[13:23] Speaker 7: his leadership and then the fact that he comes in there,
[13:25] Speaker 7: he works every day.
[13:25] Speaker 2: Who's listening to him? Everybody. Everybody. About what? About basketball.
[13:30] Speaker 2: That's his big brother. They talking Greek.
[13:32] Speaker 1: He's out there averaging 31 and 14 year in, year out.
[13:37] Speaker 4: The Nats ain't got shit to do with that.
[13:38] Speaker 2: They do. They do. You can ask anybody. What Jonas
[13:43] Speaker 2: average last year? You can ask anybody who's 30.4, 11
[13:44] Speaker 2: rebounds per game. He was there. He was in the
[13:46] Speaker 2: family room waiting for baby bro. My brother, he ain't play. Who?
[13:56] Speaker 6: I listen to my brother. He ain't playing NBA. You
[13:58] Speaker 6: act like your brother, you don't listen to your family.
[14:00] Speaker 4: Listen to him. I said, see, y'all hear what y'all
[14:03] Speaker 4: want to hear. That ain't what he said. That ain't
[14:05] Speaker 4: what the fuck I said. I said, how does them
[14:08] Speaker 4: being on the roster affect winning? That's what I said.
[14:11] Speaker 2: Whether it's there or not, they ain't winning shit. Well,
[14:14] Speaker 2: the National's energy has a lot to do with that.
[14:16] Speaker 2: Last year. Energy win. Doing what? Doing what? Being there.
[14:22] Speaker 2: Being a leader, working hard every day. Getting the whole
[14:27] Speaker 2: team together. Yeah, locker room, that matters. Man, he in
[14:30] Speaker 2: the way. Nah, he in the way. Nah, he ain't
[14:33] Speaker 2: in the way. He ain't in the way.
[14:35] Speaker 4: So Gil, you said that Giannis lost to Oral. There's
[14:37] Speaker 4: two spots they can get somebody else. There's two spots, brother.
[14:41] Speaker 4: Somebody else that fucking didn't work their ass off to
[14:43] Speaker 4: get him.
[14:43] Speaker 2: I mean, well, you got to want to come there, too.
[14:44] Speaker 4: They ain't offering nobody because they got them two there.
[14:47] Speaker 2: I'm sure they have. I'm sure they have. I'm sure
[14:51] Speaker 2: the Milwaukee Bucks have. They didn't call everybody. Well, who
[14:54] Speaker 2: they need to call? I'm saying they didn't call everybody.
[14:56] Speaker 2: I'm sure they called the people that they wanted. No,
[14:58] Speaker 2: they did. They got the two that they wanted. No,
[15:00] Speaker 2: I'm sure they called other players that they want. They
[15:02] Speaker 2: just got those two. There's a whole lot of free
[15:05] Speaker 2: agents still. And a lot of free agents that want
[15:08] Speaker 2: to go there.
[15:08] Speaker 4: No, they got to offer them.
[15:10] Speaker 7: I don't know who they... I'm sure they did offer them.
[15:13] Speaker 7: But you don't know. I'm sure they did.
[15:16] Speaker 2: You're assuming. I'm sure they did. But you're assuming. I'm
[15:18] Speaker 2: sure they did. Well, that's good. But you're assuming. I'm
[15:20] Speaker 2: sure they did. I'm sure the Milwaukee Bucks organization got
[15:25] Speaker 2: the phone and was like, yo.
[15:26] Speaker 4: So they settled for Thanasis and his brother?
[15:29] Speaker 2: Thanasis.
[15:30] Speaker 4: So they settled for the two Antetokounmpo brothers? So other
[15:34] Speaker 4: people was available and they.
[15:36] Speaker 2: Said, you know what?
[15:38] Speaker 1: Fuck Russ, fuck Ben Simmons, fuck these dudes.
[15:41] Speaker 2: We don't go with them two. But do they want
[15:43] Speaker 2: to come there?
[15:44] Speaker 4: We don't know that.
[15:45] Speaker 2: That's what I'm saying. But you don't know if they
[15:46] Speaker 2: offered or not. That's what I'm saying. You said you're
[15:48] Speaker 2: sure they did.
[15:48] Speaker 7: I'm sure they did. I mean, if I'm a GM,
[15:50] Speaker 7: I'm sure I'm going to pick up the phone and
[15:51] Speaker 7: call Russ Brook. He's a top 75 player. I mean,
[15:53] Speaker 7: I'm not that stupid.
[15:55] Speaker 2: So let's get back to something Gil said real quick.
[15:57] Speaker 2: We back. We back, baby. 15 minutes.
[16:03] Speaker 3: But you said Giannis lost the oral support, but he
[16:05] Speaker 3: brought in the moral support.
[16:06] Speaker 2: I believe referring to a report that his family has
[16:08] Speaker 2: opted to move back to Greece. Yeah. Let him stay in.
[16:11] Speaker 2: They lost the oral. Wife and kids because they're going
[16:14] Speaker 2: to stay. They're going to stay in Greece. Lost the
[16:18] Speaker 2: happy times. They have to bring on the bros. So
[16:22] Speaker 2: he lost his family. So they said, all right, listen,
[16:25] Speaker 2: what you need? I need my bros. So they brought
[16:27] Speaker 2: his brothers on.
[16:29] Speaker 1: They keep him grounded, you know, and wife and kids
[16:32] Speaker 1: usually kept him grounded, but the fact that he lost those,
[16:35] Speaker 1: you know, the season, so they're going to just.
[16:37] Speaker 4: I hear y'all, but let me ask y'all, so fuck
[16:39] Speaker 4: the fact the words that's coming out of this man's
[16:41] Speaker 4: mouth that it's about winning and.
[16:43] Speaker 2: Losing, right? Damn that shit. Like, none of that shit matters.
[16:48] Speaker 4: So that's what his, like, his brothers don't have to
[16:51] Speaker 4: be there for him to still feel or not feel
[16:53] Speaker 4: that way. Like, whether they there or not, he is
[16:56] Speaker 4: still saying.
[16:58] Speaker 2: I want to win.
[16:59] Speaker 4: And if it don't, like, so.
[17:01] Speaker 2: I mean, they're the 14th and 15th. Yeah, they got
[17:03] Speaker 2: a fucking family right behind them. You can come to
[17:07] Speaker 2: every game.
[17:07] Speaker 4: They can come to every single game. They can be
[17:09] Speaker 4: as moral support. But I'm saying it's the 14th and 15th, man,
[17:12] Speaker 4: they're not helping you win.
[17:13] Speaker 2: Like, yeah. So it doesn't even matter.
[17:15] Speaker 4: That was my question.
[17:16] Speaker 2: That was my question. So you can put anybody there.
[17:18] Speaker 2: They put moral support. My point is. Why did you settle?
[17:23] Speaker 3: Apparently, Yannick refuted that report, said his family is going
[17:26] Speaker 3: to still be.
[17:26] Speaker 4: I'm saying that's the point.
[17:27] Speaker 2: In Milwaukee.
[17:28] Speaker 1: Right.
[17:29] Speaker 3: That's the point I'm making, Gil. That point exactly. So
[17:33] Speaker 3: we've had lengthy debates about nepotism in the league. Obviously,
[17:36] Speaker 3: there's been criticism of some star players bringing in family
[17:39] Speaker 3: members to join the team. Now Giannis has not one,
[17:42] Speaker 3: but two of his brothers on the Bucs roster. So
[17:44] Speaker 3: y'all cool with Giannis leveraging his power to bring his
[17:47] Speaker 3: brothers into this team?
[17:48] Speaker 2: Hell yeah. If that's what's going to keep them happy
[17:49] Speaker 2: and keep them in Milwaukee. Hell yeah. It's my team.
[17:51] Speaker 2: It's my city. I'm the best player here.
[17:53] Speaker 3: It's okay if the star player flexes on the team
[17:55] Speaker 3: and says, you're my family here.
[17:57] Speaker 2: Whatever you say, go. Okay. Nah.
[17:59] Speaker 4: Yeah, that's what losing brings.
[18:01] Speaker 2: Yeah, man.
[18:02] Speaker 4: He say go.
[18:03] Speaker 2: He won. They all want him. They all want him.
[18:08] Speaker 2: So therefore, he won't be there long. That's exactly what's
[18:11] Speaker 2: going on. Therefore, he won't be there long.
[18:13] Speaker 1: He's signaling that I'm probably going to leave after this year.
[18:15] Speaker 1: We're going to have our little kumbaya.
[18:17] Speaker 2: Therefore, exit soon come. Yeah.
[18:22] Speaker 3: About six, seven months. The Bucs have him here. But
[18:27] Speaker 3: let's talk about this actual team. So Bucs made some
[18:29] Speaker 3: off-season moves to strengthen the roster. They grabbed Miles Turner
[18:32] Speaker 3: from the Pacers, a free agency, along with Cole Anthony
[18:34] Speaker 3: from the Magic, re-signed Bobby Portis, Kevin Porter Jr.
[18:37] Speaker 2: and Gary Trent Jr.
[18:39] Speaker 3: Now look to roll out a projected starting lineup of K.P.J.,
[18:41] Speaker 3: Gary Trent, Kyle Kuzma, Giannis, and Miles Turner, along with
[18:45] Speaker 3: a solid bench anchored by Bobby Portis. As we know,
[18:47] Speaker 3: East wide open. Celtics don't have Tatum. Pacers don't have Halliburton.
[18:52] Speaker 3: but the Knicks, Magic, and Pistons are in the mix
[18:54] Speaker 3: as well to compete for that top spot. So, Mr. B,
[18:57] Speaker 3: how much faith do you have in this Bucs squad
[18:59] Speaker 3: to come out of the East this season?
[19:01] Speaker 7: I think I just said it, but, I mean, I
[19:04] Speaker 7: think they have a good chance just with the East
[19:06] Speaker 7: being down. So, like I said before, Giannis being one
[19:09] Speaker 7: of the best players in the league in every game,
[19:14] Speaker 7: as long as he.
[19:14] Speaker 2: Stays healthy, I think the Bucs have a chance.
[19:16] Speaker 7: Like I said, getting Miles Turner, getting Cole, getting those guys,
[19:19] Speaker 7: us being able to play fast-paced, being up and down,
[19:22] Speaker 7: and being a three-point threat. So, you know, getting Giannis
[19:25] Speaker 7: to come down, drive, and kick a lot, you know,
[19:27] Speaker 7: hit big shots, man. If this is going to be Giannis'
[19:29] Speaker 7: last year or whatever, if I'm on this team, I'm
[19:32] Speaker 7: going to go all out because, you know, this is
[19:34] Speaker 7: my chance to be able to play for a contract
[19:35] Speaker 7: and be able to get my name out there. So,
[19:38] Speaker 7: you know, if I'm a player that's playing with Giannis
[19:41] Speaker 7: this year, I'm going all out.
[19:43] Speaker 3: Gil, obviously you and Doc Rivers mend the fences. You're
[19:46] Speaker 3: a Doc Rivers fan now. How much faith do you
[19:49] Speaker 3: have in the Bucs?
[19:50] Speaker 2: How much faith do.
[19:52] Speaker 3: You have for Giannis and Doc Rivers in this Bucs
[19:55] Speaker 3: squad to come out of the East this season?
[19:56] Speaker 2: I mean, you have.
[20:01] Speaker 4: Nick's Cleveland's going to be top dogs right now. I'm
[20:06] Speaker 4: not really sold on Orlando. I'm I'm not sold on
[20:10] Speaker 4: them in the playoffs, right? They were healthy in the
[20:13] Speaker 4: playoffs last year. And, you know, they're still young, so,
[20:16] Speaker 4: you know, I don't think they're going to be a
[20:17] Speaker 4: real threat, you know, until probably next season, season after this.
[20:22] Speaker 2: So....
[20:26] Speaker 4: I mean, Bucs, man, listen, Bucs, with this lineup, with
[20:29] Speaker 4: this roster, they have veterans, they have young guys, they
[20:33] Speaker 4: have one-on-one players, they have flat-out shooters, they have six men, like,
[20:37] Speaker 4: They have a full, full team of guys who can
[20:41] Speaker 4: just put the ball in the basket and defend. I mean,
[20:44] Speaker 4: I wouldn't be surprised if, you know, they're in the
[20:48] Speaker 4: Eastern Conference Championship and make it into the championship.
[20:50] Speaker 2: Like, the way the landscape is, Miami defending Giannis, that
[20:57] Speaker 2: team ain't there like that. Boston, they're not there like that.
[21:03] Speaker 4: The team that ran them out of the building, Indiana,
[21:06] Speaker 4: They're not healthy, so.
[21:08] Speaker 2: But you still got the calf. The only, yeah. Yeah.
[21:12] Speaker 2: You know what I mean? So it's. Calves going calves.
[21:15] Speaker 2: You know, I mean, I'm not, you know, we see
[21:18] Speaker 2: where the.
[21:18] Speaker 1: Calves are in the playoffs too, right? That's Donovan Mitchell, right?
[21:22] Speaker 1: Everyone still seems young, but, you know, they've learned. So
[21:24] Speaker 1: they're going to be better. But, you know, you're talking
[21:27] Speaker 1: about very experienced, like, Bucs team.
[21:32] Speaker 4: Individually, you got Miles who went to the championship, who's
[21:36] Speaker 4: going to add to Giannis. They could be a favorite
[21:41] Speaker 4: after the first two weeks to see how they're starting up,
[21:43] Speaker 4: to see how they look. But on paper, they should
[21:45] Speaker 4: be top three easy. Let's just decide. Y'all got faith
[21:49] Speaker 4: in this Bucs squad. Giannis, he got his brothers on
[21:52] Speaker 4: the team now. They got Miles Turner. Who wants the blueprint?
[21:58] Speaker 4: That Pacer blueprint.
[22:00] Speaker 2: No, I always got faith in Giannis because of how
[22:03] Speaker 2: he plays the game, right? Always.
[22:05] Speaker 4: Like, anytime he laces them up, he gives himself a chance.
[22:08] Speaker 4: So if you put the right pieces around him and
[22:11] Speaker 4: coaching don't have coaching moments, right, that they've been known
[22:18] Speaker 4: to have. But, no, they're definitely top three team in
[22:22] Speaker 4: the East right now in the landscape of it. After that,
[22:28] Speaker 4: we'll see. We still have games to play. You know,
[22:29] Speaker 4: there's always a sleeper team. Somebody always plays better than
[22:32] Speaker 4: they are. Somebody always gets hurt. So, yeah, but right
[22:36] Speaker 4: now as we start, any situation that Giannis is in
[22:39] Speaker 4: and there's a down year for the league overall, he
[22:43] Speaker 4: always gives himself a chance because of his approach.
[22:47] Speaker 2: We'll see.
[22:48] Speaker 1: Well, Senator Taylor, I see your face right now. What
[22:50] Speaker 1: do you think about this Bucs squad and the prospects
[22:52] Speaker 1: in the East this season?
[22:54] Speaker 2: Cavs, New York, Cleveland. I mean, Cavs, New York, Indiana. Three, right?
[23:00] Speaker 2: But Pacers, no Halliburton. You got a Magic squad. Those three, right?
[23:05] Speaker 2: Palo Banquero. Orlando. Waggy Waggy. Philly. I say Charlotte's better
[23:16] Speaker 2: than the Bucs right now. Yeah.
[23:20] Speaker 1: When we're talking about real, like, poop, when you're talking
[23:22] Speaker 1: about injuries, the injuries are going to be the reason
[23:25] Speaker 1: why the Bucs are going to be good this year.
[23:27] Speaker 1: At some point, everybody's going to get healthy.
[23:31] Speaker 2: Right? At some point, everybody's going to be.
[23:32] Speaker 1: But Matherin's actually looking a little bit better than he's looked.
[23:36] Speaker 1: He's probably going to insert himself into the starting lineup.
[23:40] Speaker 1: We got Jordan Clarkson for the New York Knicks that
[23:43] Speaker 1: added a lot of flavor for what we got going
[23:46] Speaker 1: over there.
[23:47] Speaker 2: I think the East.
[23:49] Speaker 1: When completely healthy, which will be mid-season, everybody's going to
[23:54] Speaker 1: look different, right? But you look at that lineup with
[23:57] Speaker 1: the Bucs, could you name it again?
[23:59] Speaker 2: Kevin Porter Jr., Gary Trent.
[24:02] Speaker 1: Kyle Kuzma, Giannis at the four, Miles Turner at the five.
[24:05] Speaker 1: We got Bobby Porter.
[24:07] Speaker 2: Coming off the bench. I'm going to let him talk. No,
[24:11] Speaker 2: I'm going to let him finish his statement. I'm just saying.
[24:14] Speaker 1: Ladies and gentlemen, we are back season four.
[24:17] Speaker 2: Oh, hell would have broke out. You're not me. You're
[24:20] Speaker 2: not me. You're not me. You're not me.
[24:21] Speaker 1: You're not me. You're not me. If I was you,
[24:24] Speaker 1: you're going to team act it over here now. If, if, if,
[24:33] Speaker 1: if it was me, nigga, please, I'd do this.
[24:38] Speaker 2: Okay? What was the roster? So I got two questions.
[24:41] Speaker 2: What was the roster again? So I got a two-part question.
[24:44] Speaker 2: Kevin Porter Jr. Gary Trent, Kyle Kuzma. Right?
[24:47] Speaker 1: Somebody that had to come in and fight his way
[24:51] Speaker 1: to that position because Dame is out. Gary Trent Jr.
[24:56] Speaker 1: was a sixth man for the Toronto Raptors. He comes in,
[25:00] Speaker 1: steals a position. Kyle Kuzma got shipped out, shipped in.
[25:08] Speaker 1: Miles Turner, you're using that as some type of like
[25:11] Speaker 1: protocol for what he helped, which he was the reason
[25:14] Speaker 1: kind of.
[25:15] Speaker 2: Why we didn't go further.
[25:17] Speaker 1: Okay, so you're using all these different things to say
[25:20] Speaker 1: like this is going to help Milwaukee.
[25:22] Speaker 2: It ain't helping Milwaukee do nothing. They're going to have
[25:25] Speaker 2: more timeouts. Charlotte. In the game. More timeouts than any
[25:29] Speaker 2: team in the league. It's you. Charlotte. Timeout. Timeout. Timeout. Timeout.
[25:33] Speaker 2: I can name two. Thank you. That's what I'm saying.
[25:37] Speaker 2: Miles Bridges and Ball. Thank you. Mello. That's two. That's
[25:42] Speaker 2: two more than Milwaukee. LaMelo. LaMelo. For one. LaMelo. Them two.
[25:48] Speaker 2: And Brandon Miller. Them three.
[25:53] Speaker 8: That's more than the Milwaukee Bucks.
[25:59] Speaker 2: I say the Atlanta Hawks over this. Fuck Charlotte. Say Atlanta.
[26:04] Speaker 2: I say Atlanta. Better than the Milwaukee Bucks. Why not?
[26:10] Speaker 2: We talking who? We talking who, but you're not going
[26:12] Speaker 2: to put the Charlotte Hornets in.
[26:13] Speaker 1: I'll put both of them. I'm putting Charlotte and Atlanta.
[26:17] Speaker 4: So I got another question for you. So you're not
[26:20] Speaker 4: changing teams this year? Because you didn't change teams the
[26:23] Speaker 4: last three seasons.
[26:24] Speaker 2: I don't know.
[26:25] Speaker 4: You're over there talking about we when you're talking about
[26:26] Speaker 4: the Knicks. So I just want to know if you're
[26:28] Speaker 4: jumping ship like you normally do.
[26:30] Speaker 3: You had to make a decision about his team. We
[26:32] Speaker 3: do have a little bit of time.
[26:34] Speaker 2: Yeah, listen.
[26:34] Speaker 4: One thing for sure, two things for certain. He's had
[26:37] Speaker 4: ample time because we ain't been in this bitch. He's
[26:40] Speaker 4: had ample time to motherfucking make his mind up.
[26:43] Speaker 2: Several months for reflection. I'm still thinking. I'm still thinking.
[26:48] Speaker 2: I'm still thinking. When you started yet? I do notice
[26:51] Speaker 2: a jersey underneath the suit. Okay. I'm just making sure.
[26:55] Speaker 2: I'm waiting. I don't know if we're transitioning into that yet. No, no, no.
[26:59] Speaker 1: We have to bring up some things. We're going to
[27:01] Speaker 1: talk about them tomorrow. We have some things to discuss.
[27:03] Speaker 4: You didn't see Charlotte play at all last year.
[27:04] Speaker 2: You didn't watch that at all. That was last year.
[27:08] Speaker 2: Last year is last year.
[27:09] Speaker 1: I seen a lot of players play a lot of
[27:11] Speaker 1: teams play last year.
[27:13] Speaker 2: Stripes and spots come to mind. If you don't get
[27:15] Speaker 2: better this year. It's a problem.
[27:17] Speaker 1: I think everybody got better at some point, except for
[27:20] Speaker 1: the Milwaukee Bucks.
[27:21] Speaker 2: And they missing young fella out. So who? Brandon Miller out.
[27:23] Speaker 2: What are you out with? ACL. Some health injuries. Something
[27:29] Speaker 2: of the sort. What did he do? They better than
[27:32] Speaker 2: Milwaukee Bucks. You got hurt or something? No, no. As
[27:36] Speaker 2: you know, I'm not well-versed on things going on. I
[27:38] Speaker 2: thought I seen him in the preseason game. I thought
[27:40] Speaker 2: I seen him playing. Okay, you could have. He's dealt
[27:43] Speaker 2: with injury in the previous year. But they ain't going
[27:44] Speaker 2: to steal him, them, and them. They ain't going to.
[27:48] Speaker 2: They playing Charlotte. They're still mellow. Mellow ball. A mellow ball.
[27:52] Speaker 2: I hate the Bucs. I don't like the Bucs. Swaggy,
[27:56] Speaker 2: why don't you like the Bucs? The Bucs don't like
[27:58] Speaker 2: the Bucs. A fine city. Hell no. I wouldn't tell
[28:04] Speaker 2: my dog to go there. Mr. B, do you have
[28:10] Speaker 2: anything to say? No, next subject. It's like Milwaukee just
[28:13] Speaker 2: by nothing. Okay, not feeling it. Bucks at six. Brewers
[28:20] Speaker 2: at six, too, or? We'll see. Guys, make it short.
[28:24] Speaker 2: Brewers at six. I forgot. We can only.
[28:30] Speaker 3: But last but not least on this Giannis topic before
[28:33] Speaker 3: we move on. Realistically, what would it take for Giannis
[28:35] Speaker 3: to win a dip for Milwaukee to take his talent
[28:37] Speaker 3: to the Big Apple? Like Sean said, it's either Milwaukee
[28:40] Speaker 3: or New York. They tried to work the framework of
[28:42] Speaker 3: a deal. Didn't get too far in those discussions. There's
[28:45] Speaker 3: also reports that the Nats had the option to sign
[28:47] Speaker 3: with the Knicks as well, but decided to.
[28:49] Speaker 2: Come to the Bucs. You said, well, we'll make him
[28:51] Speaker 2: want to dip? We'll make him want to dip. How
[28:53] Speaker 2: bad of a season would the Bucs need to have
[28:54] Speaker 2: for him to be like, I'm out of here?
[28:56] Speaker 7: Like Gil said, they got to get to the Eastern
[28:57] Speaker 7: Conference Finals or anything other than that, he's out.
[29:01] Speaker 2: I think. But Giannis ain't been healthy, too, in the
[29:05] Speaker 2: playoffs lately. Hmm? Giannis.
[29:10] Speaker 4: Just for shits and giggles, right?
[29:14] Speaker 2: Probably, man.
[29:15] Speaker 4: Who do you trade?
[29:15] Speaker 2: All right, for the Knicks?
[29:17] Speaker 3: Yeah, that's what I want to know. In order to
[29:20] Speaker 3: still be competitive, who do you trade? So the game,
[29:24] Speaker 3: Mikael Bridges has bred. He's not eligible to trade until
[29:26] Speaker 3: February 1st, but he obviously got OG.
[29:28] Speaker 4: There's no next season. He played this year out. B
[29:32] Speaker 4: said if they don't make it to the Eastern Conference Finals,
[29:34] Speaker 4: he's out, right?
[29:35] Speaker 2: Yeah. Because he's not a free agent.
[29:39] Speaker 4: So Nick's, I mean. Because he just extended. Most likely
[29:42] Speaker 4: Nick's would just say Brunson's off the table. You're going
[29:45] Speaker 4: to have to pick at everybody else.
[29:46] Speaker 2: Yeah. So it all depends. That's nasty basketball. So it
[29:49] Speaker 2: depends on, like, what Bucks want.
[29:52] Speaker 1: What Bucks want from, you know, yeah.
[29:57] Speaker 2: But it's not a good. Those two are not a
[29:59] Speaker 2: good match.
[30:00] Speaker 4: And now two teams are trying to fucking put this
[30:03] Speaker 4: puzzle together that don't fit to try to go out
[30:05] Speaker 4: and compete now because you got all these smalls that's
[30:08] Speaker 4: going to have to go to Milwaukee.
[30:10] Speaker 2: Yeah. And. That don't make sense. There's only one player.
[30:16] Speaker 2: You got to give them Towns, huh? Who?
[30:18] Speaker 3: I mean, yeah. Don't think the Bucs necessarily want to.
[30:21] Speaker 3: That's a lot of bread on the salary cap to
[30:23] Speaker 3: bring Carlton to Towns.
[30:24] Speaker 4: But then you got him and Miles Turner out there
[30:27] Speaker 4: motherfucking playing on the perimeter.
[30:28] Speaker 2: They can build a better team. They can build a
[30:31] Speaker 2: better team. I thought it was a thing.
[30:33] Speaker 4: But, you know, it's not going to take anything, but
[30:37] Speaker 4: it's just a good trade because at the end of
[30:38] Speaker 4: the day, he won it out.
[30:40] Speaker 2: Right? His sights were on New York. He had to
[30:43] Speaker 2: be a third. You know what I mean? So, you know,
[30:44] Speaker 2: the fact that he was third, fourth, fifth, sixth, 17.
[30:48] Speaker 2: Hella picks.
[30:49] Speaker 4: It'll be one of them blockbuster historic trades that he
[30:55] Speaker 4: needs to play with. 34 players got traded. He can't
[30:58] Speaker 4: play with a Bronfman. No, he can't play with a Bronfman.
[30:59] Speaker 4: He can't play with a Bronfman.
[31:01] Speaker 3: Giannis under contract for the next two seasons has a
[31:03] Speaker 3: player option, 20-27, that he could also.
[31:05] Speaker 2: Bronfman had that ball to him. You have to trade
[31:08] Speaker 2: him to work. You have to trade him to... He's
[31:10] Speaker 2: the perfect point guard. He's... You got to treat him
[31:14] Speaker 2: more like Amari Stoudemire. Yes. Right? And that's how you...
[31:18] Speaker 2: That's the kind of point guard you need. So you
[31:20] Speaker 2: needed a Hallie or....
[31:25] Speaker 1: A lamello ball type of guy who is willing to pass,
[31:29] Speaker 1: knows how to pass, has that vision that's doing pick
[31:32] Speaker 1: and roll.
[31:33] Speaker 2: So, huh? Him and Trey Young? Him and Trey Young
[31:36] Speaker 2: would have been an idea. That's the perfect deal. Because
[31:40] Speaker 2: that pick and roll, you dive, I'm throwing a lob.
[31:43] Speaker 4: You playing him, I'm going to knock your head.
[31:49] Speaker 3: That sounds like the better trade that would probably happen
[31:51] Speaker 3: is him over there. I think Giannis was stuck in
[31:55] Speaker 3: a basement in Atlanta at a certain point right before
[31:57] Speaker 3: he got drafted. Before he got the draft. Because Atlanta
[32:01] Speaker 3: spotted him, and they were hiding him there. Wait, for real?
[32:05] Speaker 2: Yeah, they were hiding him in Atlanta. Like the New
[32:08] Speaker 2: Orleans inmate?
[32:10] Speaker 4: I'm trying to figure out who house he was staying at.
[32:13] Speaker 4: I forgot who house he was staying at. Just hiding there,
[32:16] Speaker 4: working out. Hey, this man a witness protector. Yep, and
[32:18] Speaker 4: then Bucks heard about it. I believe that.
[32:23] Speaker 1: Coach ended up going to the program. Yeah, the coach
[32:27] Speaker 1: that was there ended up going to the Bucs and
[32:30] Speaker 1: gave him a rundown.
[32:31] Speaker 2: The whole Boone Hoser crew. Now he's stuck in the closet.
[32:35] Speaker 2: But we will see how the situation goes, Milwaukee. Stuck
[32:40] Speaker 2: in the closet over here, man. We got a Greco-Nigerian.
[32:43] Speaker 4: I got a Greco-Nigerian down in the basement.
[32:47] Speaker 2: They're up there. Remember that movie? They're up there.
[32:49] Speaker 3: All right, let's keep this thing moving. Today's show is
[32:51] Speaker 3: sponsored by SeatGeek. Everyone can use our code ARENA10 and

[33:03] Speaker 3: the Dodgers are on their quest to repeat as World
[33:05] Speaker 3: Series champs. So you know I'm going to have to
[33:07] Speaker 3: pull up to some games using SeatGeek. SeatGeek rates on
[33:09] Speaker 3: a scale of 1 to 10, so look for the

[33:24] Speaker 3: and add code ARENAS10 to your account. All right, let's
[33:27] Speaker 3: shift over to the Western Conference. Talk about the most
[33:30] Speaker 3: important team in the West, the Los Angeles Lakers. Lakers
[33:32] Speaker 3: stunned the basketball world during Black History Month, pulling off
[33:36] Speaker 3: arguably the biggest midseason trade in league history to land
[33:38] Speaker 3: Luka Doncic. So after finishing third in the West, their
[33:41] Speaker 3: season came to an abrupt end in the first round
[33:43] Speaker 3: of the playoffs.
[33:44] Speaker 2: Yes, Ken, sir.
[33:45] Speaker 4: You don't want to talk about the champs first from
[33:46] Speaker 4: the West? Champs, champs. We forgot they won a championship,
[33:55] Speaker 4: that's how I mean you got the shoes.
[33:57] Speaker 2: On like I'm.
[33:59] Speaker 3: Gonna be big You saw the final number so we
[34:02] Speaker 3: only got two days a week we got a run
[34:04] Speaker 3: numbers up, okay We are trying to keep the lights
[34:06] Speaker 3: on risk do We will talk about as yet As
[34:09] Speaker 3: time permits We're lucky we're not talking Bronny today. We
[34:16] Speaker 3: got time restraints. We have time restraints two days a week.
[34:20] Speaker 3: But like I said, the Lakers finished third in the West.
[34:22] Speaker 3: Season came to a abrupt end in the first round
[34:24] Speaker 3: of playoffs at the hands of Ant-Man and the Wolves,
[34:26] Speaker 3: who made light work of the Luka-Bronchik duo. This offseason,
[34:30] Speaker 3: as expected, Luka agreed to a three-year, $ 165 million max
[34:33] Speaker 3: extension to keep him with the Lakers until at least 2028.
[34:37] Speaker 3: Officially beginning the Luka era for the purple and gold
[34:40] Speaker 3: this summer Slovenian Jesus was absolutely dominant pop that smoke
[34:43] Speaker 3: representing his homeland in Eurobasket getting him some smoke I
[34:46] Speaker 3: know you love looking you big big just big Luka
[34:48] Speaker 3: fan world's biggest Luka fan Like I said look at
[34:53] Speaker 3: dominant Eurobasket after 35 points 9 rebounds 7 assists 3
[34:56] Speaker 3: steals while also being nominated for for the best defender
[35:00] Speaker 3: in the tournament, which may surprise some Luka out there.
[35:07] Speaker 3: He also pulled up to training camp looking slim and
[35:10] Speaker 3: trim on that Luzempic. So despite being listed as 14
[35:13] Speaker 3: pounds heavier than he was last season, but we all
[35:15] Speaker 3: know muscle weighs more than fat. Luka made his preseason
[35:19] Speaker 3: debut Tuesday night against the Suns, had 25-7 boards, Four
[35:23] Speaker 3: assists and 22 minutes of action.
[35:25] Speaker 2: That's 22? Easy work. Exciting wife. MVP. MVP. MVP. Luka.
[35:34] Speaker 3: Basham, I'm going to ask you first. What's your expectations
[35:40] Speaker 3: for Luka in his first full season with the Lakers?
[35:44] Speaker 2: Expectations?
[35:47] Speaker 1: For Luka Jermaine, doctor. Probably to put all that weight
[35:51] Speaker 1: back on. I'm going to be singing Free Willy by
[35:54] Speaker 1: the end of the season again. Yeah, it's that. Figuring
[36:03] Speaker 1: out who to bring in because Brian's going to be
[36:06] Speaker 1: in and out of the rotation. He's going to be stressed.
[36:10] Speaker 1: He's going to be smoking cigarettes like Joker by the end,
[36:13] Speaker 1: in the back, like Vladi Divac. Give me a dart, goddamn.
[36:16] Speaker 2: This nigga's stressing me out. You're stressing me out. J.J.,
[36:20] Speaker 2: you see J.J. in the press conferences. He don't even
[36:22] Speaker 2: know what to say.
[36:24] Speaker 1: What you think he's going to be trying to figure
[36:25] Speaker 1: out what Luka's saying in the language he's speaking?
[36:28] Speaker 2: He's sitting there. What you saying, Luka? Fuck you, J.J.
[36:33] Speaker 2: Run the fucking play. Pick and roll. Give me the ball.
[36:36] Speaker 2: Give me the rock. Get out of the way. Let's
[36:39] Speaker 2: shift over to this side. Mr. B. Yeah, I think
[36:42] Speaker 2: Luka will.
[36:42] Speaker 7: Be in MVP talks this year. Averaging around 28-30, 8-8.
[36:47] Speaker 7: probably more than.
[36:54] Speaker 2: That. Halftime. Halftime? That was his halftime stats. You know,
[36:58] Speaker 2: halftime stats, right? Then you said 28-88, right? 28? I
[37:00] Speaker 2: don't disrespect that white man. That's a good white man.
[37:04] Speaker 2: So you think 35? Yes, around there. Like James Harden, 35?
[37:05] Speaker 2: Probably more. No LeBron James? Lakers 18-10 with Luka.
[37:17] Speaker 3: Following the trade last season, Luka did miss some time, though.
[37:19] Speaker 3: Dealing with the hand. I mean, but it's Luka's team now, though.
[37:23] Speaker 7: So I know Luka moving forward is going to be
[37:25] Speaker 7: easier for the Lakers to move on from Bron.
[37:29] Speaker 2: Unnecessary, Brandon. This was a Luka.
[37:30] Speaker 7: No, I'm just, it's his team. I mean, that's the
[37:34] Speaker 7: biggest issue. How LeBron going to treat the situation? Is
[37:37] Speaker 7: he ready to be a number two? Like, this is
[37:39] Speaker 7: the first time in his career where he'll have to
[37:41] Speaker 7: literally be a number two, a Robin.
[37:44] Speaker 2: Just want to win.
[37:47] Speaker 3: We're just monitoring situations, minding our business, dealing with the sciaticus.
[37:50] Speaker 3: But let's get back to it. Obviously, the biggest Luka
[37:54] Speaker 3: Doncic fan in Los Angeles now, Slovenian Jesus.
[37:57] Speaker 2: Slovenian. What's the question?
[38:00] Speaker 3: You got real nervous, though, when Brian looked like he
[38:02] Speaker 3: might retire, but it was a Hennessy promo. I just
[38:04] Speaker 3: want to point that out. Yeah, I was just promoting.
[38:07] Speaker 2: I thought you were appreciative. He was a golf fan.
[38:09] Speaker 2: You was a little appreciative. Yeah, I was just. LeBron
[38:11] Speaker 2: got the six. You know I get paid, right? So
[38:13] Speaker 2: I was just promoting it and getting the hype out there.
[38:15] Speaker 2: You know what I mean? I already knew he wasn't
[38:19] Speaker 2: going nowhere. The clutch check. Just had to hype the
[38:22] Speaker 2: machine up, man. You fell for it, right? You fell
[38:24] Speaker 2: for it. I told you, three years. We still got
[38:27] Speaker 2: three years left. All right, what'd you say? What are
[38:31] Speaker 2: your expectations for Luka Doncic in his first full season
[38:34] Speaker 2: with the Lakers? He has the keys now. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah.
[38:38] Speaker 2: He out there driving Porsches with the squad.
[38:40] Speaker 4: Oh, yeah, so everybody talking about his weight. He came
[38:44] Speaker 4: in shape last year in Dallas. He got hurt, got fat, right?
[38:49] Speaker 1: That's how that worked. And then he came in here
[38:51] Speaker 1: being fat. What did he average? 28-what?
[38:55] Speaker 2: Last season? Yeah. About 28-8.
[38:57] Speaker 1: Okay, so then he went, lost weight, and then what
[39:00] Speaker 1: did he average in the West End, overseas?
[39:05] Speaker 3: In Eurobasket 2025, he averaged 35 points, 9 rebounds, 7 assists,
[39:10] Speaker 3: 3 steals.
[39:10] Speaker 2: Oh, 3 steals. Right. And they play hard, right?
[39:14] Speaker 4: Okay, so I'm expecting that he is going to flirt
[39:19] Speaker 4: with a triple-double all season.
[39:21] Speaker 2: Might hit it. If he don't hit it, he's going
[39:23] Speaker 2: to be shy from the assist part because the rest
[39:28] Speaker 2: of our team. He's going to lead the league in scoring. Hmm.
[39:33] Speaker 2: For sure. Yeah, for sure. For sure. He's going to
[39:36] Speaker 2: lead the league in the score, for sure. Over Giannis?
[39:39] Speaker 2: For sure. Over SGA? For sure. Man, it's not even
[39:43] Speaker 2: a debate.
[39:43] Speaker 1: Have you seen the team? We've got a dude that
[39:47] Speaker 1: just went up and down like Carter.
[39:49] Speaker 2: He looked like my player. When I went to the.
[39:51] Speaker 1: Rec, and I'm just out there running because I don't
[39:53] Speaker 1: know where to go, that's what Marcus Smart did last night.
[39:56] Speaker 1: So we got those on the team. For sure, he's
[39:58] Speaker 1: taking all the shots. Marcus Smart just wanted to take elbows.
[40:00] Speaker 1: Did you see SGA last night?
[40:02] Speaker 2: I've seen that shit, but SG's trying to win another championship.
[40:05] Speaker 2: He had 30 in like 1990. He's trying to win
[40:07] Speaker 2: another championship. We got a guy. The LeBron goal.
[40:11] Speaker 4: If LeBron ain't going to be playing and then the
[40:13] Speaker 4: rest of the team looks the way it looks, right?
[40:15] Speaker 2: A bunch of, you know, no squad rec players. He's
[40:18] Speaker 2: going to be out there. He's going to be out
[40:19] Speaker 2: there chucking, baby. He's going to average about 35 for sure.
[40:23] Speaker 2: Easy work. No way. I'm not. Marcus, I don't want
[40:26] Speaker 2: the ball. Time down. Easy work. Ain't no way. They
[40:29] Speaker 2: don't play that way.
[40:30] Speaker 4: Ain't no way. They don't play that way, so he's
[40:33] Speaker 4: going to average 35.
[40:34] Speaker 2: What happened?
[40:35] Speaker 4: He said there ain't no way that he's not going
[40:38] Speaker 4: to double-team Luka. I said, these teams don't play that way.
[40:40] Speaker 2: They switch every day. He's going to average 35. I
[40:42] Speaker 2: don't even know what double-team means. All right. Have you
[40:44] Speaker 2: all seen a double-team? None of this NBA. What is that?
[40:48] Speaker 2: They don't double-team like this. They switching. They really think
[40:50] Speaker 2: they can guard somebody.
[40:52] Speaker 6: They don't even know what a double team is today.
[40:55] Speaker 2: It's 6-11.
[40:57] Speaker 9: Switch!
[40:58] Speaker 2: Yeah.
[41:00] Speaker 4: I have to like this goddamn post right here.
[41:02] Speaker 2: Like, put his hand. Laying that bitch up. No, it's. Yeah.
[41:09] Speaker 4: No, Luke is really good, man. He don't have the
[41:11] Speaker 4: type of year that. But I just want to know, like, it's.
[41:14] Speaker 4: I'll let second option shit sound good till that ball
[41:18] Speaker 4: start going and he out there.
[41:19] Speaker 2: Like. I hear you, and I.
[41:21] Speaker 4: Think this is, like I said, the future is for
[41:23] Speaker 4: Lucas to be the leader of the Los Angeles Lakers.
[41:26] Speaker 2: I agree with that, but human nature, man. Like, I just, like....
[41:34] Speaker 3: So, at Lakers Media Day, LeBron did say that he
[41:36] Speaker 3: was comfortable with being a corner boy.
[41:39] Speaker 2: He was a corner nigga last year. He was a
[41:42] Speaker 2: corner nigga last year. He was second option last year.
[41:45] Speaker 2: It wasn't known.
[41:46] Speaker 1: Yes, it was known. That fourth quarter, that was all Luka.
[41:50] Speaker 2: It was not known last year that it was Luka's team.
[41:52] Speaker 1: You've never seen LeBron take wide open threes like he
[41:55] Speaker 1: did last year. Because his ass is in the corner,
[41:58] Speaker 1: chilling like Rudy. You don't know the difference between him
[42:00] Speaker 1: or Rudy. So let me ask you this.
[42:01] Speaker 2: So him getting his ass kicked the way he did
[42:03] Speaker 2: against Anthony, he's cool with that.
[42:08] Speaker 4: Being a second option. You don't think when that shit get...
[42:11] Speaker 4: I can't foresee... I see that you're worried about it then.
[42:14] Speaker 2: Yeah, okay. Regular season, we know what we're doing. Regular season.
[42:16] Speaker 2: You're worried about it then. No, listen, it's going to
[42:18] Speaker 2: be too far gone by then. That's what I said.
[42:20] Speaker 2: I'm willing to see how LeBron going to treat this situation.
[42:22] Speaker 2: That's what I want to know, right? As being a
[42:23] Speaker 2: number two, as playing Robin. And when he got his
[42:26] Speaker 2: ass kicked last year the way he did, right? He
[42:28] Speaker 2: don't care. How you going to react to that?
[42:32] Speaker 4: Like, no, fuck that. We tried it your way.
[42:36] Speaker 2: It didn't work.
[42:38] Speaker 7: It's the first time in Brian's career where he would
[42:39] Speaker 7: have to be the second option.
[42:41] Speaker 2: That's known. So this is... Watch, he's going to be
[42:45] Speaker 2: missing games. I don't want to play.
[42:47] Speaker 8: JJ, I didn't hire you to put me in the
[42:49] Speaker 8: second option role. I didn't hire you.
[42:51] Speaker 2: JJ switched up after the podcast. That's all I'm going
[42:54] Speaker 2: to say. He had to do this. He's a golfer now.
[42:57] Speaker 2: You don't care. He's a golfer now. He's drinking Henny.
[43:00] Speaker 2: He's in that corner now. When you get to that Henny,
[43:08] Speaker 2: you turn into a corner, nigga.
[43:10] Speaker 4: Y'all really think he gonna sit over there and just
[43:13] Speaker 4: be waiting on the ball to come over there, really?
[43:15] Speaker 2: That's what he was doing last year. He was a BSOP. BSOP, though.
[43:18] Speaker 2: Just zooking that mug, doing all that. That was LeBron.
[43:22] Speaker 4: Three in the corner. What'd they get him? And that's
[43:25] Speaker 4: my point.
[43:26] Speaker 2: What'd they get him? They got the ass kick doing it.
[43:28] Speaker 2: That was a new team, though. They got who?
[43:31] Speaker 3: That was a team that did not have Jake LaRocca.
[43:34] Speaker 3: This team just put together.
[43:36] Speaker 2: No, they got it. They got it. They got what?
[43:38] Speaker 4: This team just put together.
[43:39] Speaker 2: They got what?
[43:40] Speaker 1: He just got done complaining about one. No, we got
[43:43] Speaker 1: some better pieces to be about.
[43:44] Speaker 2: Seven seat. You got the other exciting white off the rim.
[43:48] Speaker 8: So it's the norm.
[43:50] Speaker 2: Yeah. No, no.
[43:51] Speaker 4: Six, seven. Yeah, seven seat, maybe six. And then we
[43:56] Speaker 4: win first round.
[43:58] Speaker 2: You feel me? Like, I think we're going to get
[43:59] Speaker 2: out of first round. We get past first round.
[44:01] Speaker 1: Yeah, you're not talking championship talk right now?
[44:03] Speaker 2: No, no, I got to. Huh? No, no, no, no, no.
[44:06] Speaker 2: LeBron ain't there, so I'm not going to be delusional. Fair.
[44:09] Speaker 2: That's reasonable. LeBron's going to be playing in the first week. Yeah.
[44:13] Speaker 2: You know, if LeBron was there, then it's all championship talk.
[44:16] Speaker 4: Like, on paper, y'all might be the seventh best team
[44:19] Speaker 4: on paper in the West.
[44:20] Speaker 2: Man, no.
[44:21] Speaker 4: On paper in the West?
[44:22] Speaker 2: That's good. the West.
[44:23] Speaker 4: On paper in the West, y'all might be the seventh.
[44:25] Speaker 2: Yeah, think about the West. There's only shade. Huh? Shade.
[44:28] Speaker 2: You're not putting them seven. I said might be. It
[44:32] Speaker 2: might be low.
[44:33] Speaker 1: That's why I said might be. I'm being generous. We're
[44:36] Speaker 1: going to be around six or seven.
[44:37] Speaker 2: Shit. Man. Golden State? Y'all better than Golden State? We
[44:45] Speaker 2: better than Golden State. Yeah, we better than Golden State.
[44:47] Speaker 2: That old-ass team. Golden State? Y'all not better than Sacramento?
[44:51] Speaker 2: We better than Houston? Golden State? They self-sabotage. On paper?
[44:55] Speaker 2: I said on paper. On paper, Sacramento stacks. On paper,
[44:58] Speaker 2: Sacramento stacks. Stack this fuck. Stack this.
[45:04] Speaker 3: And just got a little more stack, which we'll talk
[45:06] Speaker 3: about in a few moments.
[45:08] Speaker 4: If you look at it, like, yeah, y'all championship, I
[45:10] Speaker 4: hear you. And Bron taking a second backseat, I hear you.
[45:14] Speaker 4: So I want to see it, right? It sounds good,
[45:16] Speaker 4: but I want to see it.
[45:17] Speaker 2: Seven, eight. So, man, I'd say three. They're going to
[45:21] Speaker 2: be so tired of him by game 34. They're going
[45:22] Speaker 2: to be so sick of DeAndre Ayton by 34. They're
[45:23] Speaker 2: going to be like, what? Y'all didn't give me the ball.
[45:26] Speaker 2: You agree?
[45:26] Speaker 4: Luka took that Dallas team to the chip. We got
[45:29] Speaker 4: to pick and roll. We got Ayton up there now.
[45:31] Speaker 2: Come on, man. Come on, man.
[45:48] Speaker 4: We need to have that conversation with Marcus. Listen, this
[45:51] Speaker 4: is not, listen, brother, this is not Boston, right? You
[45:54] Speaker 4: don't have to just run up and down the court, man,
[45:56] Speaker 4: and play defense.
[45:57] Speaker 2: This is not the East Coast.
[45:58] Speaker 1: We need you to perform, brother. We need you to
[46:01] Speaker 1: take some, don't be afraid to take some shots, man.
[46:04] Speaker 2: No. It's like, he's just patrolling. No, that was dead.
[46:08] Speaker 2: That was the East Coast grind.
[46:09] Speaker 1: You sit there, pick up full court, take charges, run
[46:12] Speaker 1: back and forth, the corner to corner.
[46:14] Speaker 2: You don't have to do this. You got the purple
[46:16] Speaker 2: and gold on, brother. You want him to try to score?
[46:18] Speaker 2: Take some shots. You got to take some shots. He
[46:21] Speaker 2: didn't take a shot yesterday. You don't need to take
[46:23] Speaker 2: a shot. Yes. You got to make it easy, man.
[46:26] Speaker 2: You got to make it easy. Jared Butler. That's his name?
[46:28] Speaker 2: Not in this era. Jared Butler. Jared Butler. 35 ball.
[46:32] Speaker 2: On all the guards. What's cooking the liquor? Oh, you
[46:37] Speaker 2: don't play 2K. I wouldn't shoot with Marcus. He's a
[46:41] Speaker 2: straight 2K player that just sit there and play defense.
[46:44] Speaker 2: People really be doing those builds. I'm going to just
[46:47] Speaker 2: go out here and just play defense all day, run
[46:49] Speaker 2: up and down. No, but that's what you need. Nah, man.
[46:52] Speaker 1: We trying to win a game, man. I don't need
[46:54] Speaker 1: you out there running up and down. Everybody need to
[46:55] Speaker 1: do something. Nah.
[46:59] Speaker 2: 2K player. Defense is crazy.
[47:01] Speaker 3: Swaggy, before we move on, just curious, as a resident
[47:03] Speaker 3: expert on all things being a corner boy, What's it
[47:05] Speaker 3: like making that shift and embracing the lifestyle of a
[47:08] Speaker 3: corner boy?
[47:09] Speaker 2: Oh, man. Instead of making the shift? Yeah, it's tough.
[47:13] Speaker 6: No, it's harder for us all-stars because they can't take it.
[47:18] Speaker 6: That's why this might be LeBron last year because it's
[47:21] Speaker 6: hard sitting in that corner just waiting.
[47:23] Speaker 2: For the ball. Do y'all think this is going to
[47:25] Speaker 2: be his last year? Yeah, I think. Like that's a
[47:28] Speaker 2: real thought? I think so. Not a chance. What?
[47:33] Speaker 6: He can't be a corner nigga, fam. It's hard. After
[47:37] Speaker 6: this year, he got two more years, man. You get
[47:40] Speaker 6: lonely over there in that corner.
[47:42] Speaker 2: No, he gonna hit the ball a little bit, Ty.
[47:43] Speaker 2: The life of a corner boy.
[47:44] Speaker 6: Only when Luka go out, but it ain't the same.
[47:46] Speaker 6: He ain't used to that. Y'all can't take that shit.
[47:51] Speaker 6: So let's shift focus to LeBron.
[47:54] Speaker 3: LeBron expected to miss the next three to four weeks
[47:56] Speaker 3: while dealing with the Skyaticus in his right side. The Skyaticus,
[48:00] Speaker 3: as my auntie calls it. will miss the first season
[48:02] Speaker 3: opener in his record 23 season NBA career, will likely
[48:06] Speaker 3: be sidelined for at least the Lakers' first 10 games.
[48:09] Speaker 2: Yeah, about a month, month and a half. We'll see
[48:12] Speaker 2: you after the birthday. Yeah, that's it. You know, yeah.
[48:17] Speaker 3: It's the new year. It's the new year. Three to
[48:20] Speaker 3: four weeks and Lakers talking. You might not see LeBron
[48:23] Speaker 3: until 2027. Just, you know, we're still waiting to see
[48:25] Speaker 3: what he's done at. But, missing his first season opener
[48:29] Speaker 3: in his career. Period of 22 straight. We'll miss this one.
[48:32] Speaker 3: Second team All-NBA last season. Top six in MVP voting.
[48:36] Speaker 3: On an expiring contract for the first time in his career,
[48:40] Speaker 3: but does hold some leverage with a no-trade clause after
[48:42] Speaker 3: opting into the final year of his deal. After he
[48:45] Speaker 3: opted in, his agent, Rich Paul, had a message that
[48:49] Speaker 3: Brown wanted to let it be known he still wants
[48:51] Speaker 3: to be on a winning team. We'll be monitoring the
[48:53] Speaker 3: Lakers and evaluating what's best for him at this stage
[48:56] Speaker 3: of his career.
[48:56] Speaker 1: That was a real quote. That wasn't a fake quote.
[48:59] Speaker 1: That was for Rick Paul. That's what he's doing. But
[49:01] Speaker 1: that was after he opted in back in the summer.
[49:03] Speaker 1: I think it's been, it's reemerged on social media.
[49:05] Speaker 2: We're monitoring.
[49:06] Speaker 3: That's what he's doing. We're monitoring. But he did say
[49:09] Speaker 3: we understand there's two timelines. There's the Luka timeline, obviously,
[49:12] Speaker 3: for the future. But what about the win now timeline? Well,
[49:15] Speaker 3: that wasn't a Centel. That was a Central.
[49:17] Speaker 2: That was Central. Jeez.
[49:19] Speaker 4: Through Rich Paul, Clutchport City. Like a nosy neighbor peeking
[49:22] Speaker 4: out the window. Let me see what you niggas over
[49:24] Speaker 4: there doing.
[49:24] Speaker 2: All right.
[49:26] Speaker 3: They ain't doing nothing yet. So, I mean, we got
[49:29] Speaker 3: to be honest. It's hard to not notice the tension there, obviously.
[49:33] Speaker 3: Took Luka to the Backstreet Boys concert. Did not take
[49:36] Speaker 3: LeBron to usher Bronny. Not at the Backstreet Boys concert.
[49:38] Speaker 2: LeBron... Wasn't either. Hold on, what? He took the team
[49:44] Speaker 2: to the Backstreet Boys?
[49:44] Speaker 1: After Lucas signed his extension, the Lakers took Lucas.
[49:46] Speaker 2: And Ronnie didn't go? Bronny was unavailable. Had a prior commitment.
[49:50] Speaker 2: NBA Youngboy. Prior commitment. He was an NBA Youngboy. NBA
[49:54] Speaker 2: Youngboy concept. And I want it that way. Tell me why.
[49:57] Speaker 2: Why you niggas couldn't show up? Tell me why. Prior commitment.
[50:01] Speaker 2: Tell me why. He was young. He was with KJ Jr.
[50:04] Speaker 2: at Delightless.
[50:05] Speaker 3: Remember at Delightless? I see him in there. Was there
[50:16] Speaker 3: a spirit?
[50:17] Speaker 2: It was a real N-Y. So it seems.
[50:21] Speaker 3: Like Luke and LeBron have been thrust into this situation.
[50:24] Speaker 3: Luke has a tremendous amount of respect for LeBron, obviously,
[50:26] Speaker 3: but the Lakers more or less snatched the key and said,
[50:28] Speaker 3: here you go, Luke.
[50:29] Speaker 2: He does.
[50:30] Speaker 3: He rose with LeBron. So how do you see the
[50:32] Speaker 3: Luke and LeBron partnership playing out this season? It's however
[50:41] Speaker 3: easy LeBron wants to make it. Because at this point,
[50:44] Speaker 3: He's the one on the outside, right?
[50:50] Speaker 2: He's 41.
[50:51] Speaker 1: The fact that you're still playing this long is, you know,
[50:54] Speaker 1: we do have to give it up to you, but
[50:56] Speaker 1: at the end of the day, you got one, two,
[50:57] Speaker 1: three more years.
[50:58] Speaker 4: So it's his team, and you got to fit in
[51:02] Speaker 4: where you're getting. So, I mean, if you want to
[51:03] Speaker 4: make it hard, cool. But at the end of the day,
[51:06] Speaker 4: he's still going to be here, right?
[51:10] Speaker 2: No matter how you look at it, Luka is.
[51:13] Speaker 4: Going to be here. We know you're not. In the
[51:18] Speaker 4: next three years, you're going to be retired. So if
[51:21] Speaker 4: you want to make it easy and let's try to win,
[51:25] Speaker 4: or you can be disgruntled and say, hey, man, I
[51:28] Speaker 4: don't like the way I don't think we can win.
[51:30] Speaker 2: Give me a trade. Trade out.
[51:31] Speaker 4: Either way, 77 is going to be in that purple
[51:34] Speaker 4: and gold.
[51:36] Speaker 2: And that's just the facts of it.
[51:39] Speaker 4: And we would love to see them try to win.
[51:44] Speaker 4: together and you know if he's going to try to
[51:46] Speaker 4: win that next championship that he's searching for if he's
[51:48] Speaker 4: searching for you know having someone like Luca will make
[51:53] Speaker 4: it easier for him because you have somebody who is
[51:56] Speaker 4: flirting with a triple double when he plays it's like
[52:00] Speaker 4: he is you with a better skill set of scoring
[52:05] Speaker 4: and passing the ball right he doesn't have the athleticism
[52:08] Speaker 4: of LeBron James but it's two LeBron Jameses it's a
[52:11] Speaker 4: very athletic one and a very skilled one. So you're
[52:15] Speaker 4: putting them both together, like, play off of each other
[52:18] Speaker 4: and actually go try to win.
[52:21] Speaker 2: Right?
[52:21] Speaker 1: We didn't have all the pieces right now, but you
[52:24] Speaker 1: stay one more year, hey, maybe we can get one
[52:25] Speaker 1: next year.
[52:27] Speaker 2: Right?
[52:27] Speaker 4: And the fact that he didn't take a pay cut
[52:30] Speaker 4: and then we look at the free agency this year, eh,
[52:34] Speaker 4: I wouldn't have took a pay cut either.
[52:35] Speaker 2: Wise decision. There was nobody, there was nobody, there was
[52:38] Speaker 2: nobody here to pay.
[52:39] Speaker 6: You think he could handle not having that power no more, though?
[52:43] Speaker 6: For having that power and being able to leverage anything
[52:46] Speaker 6: you want over your whole career and now just cut
[52:49] Speaker 6: off like that, like.
[52:51] Speaker 2: This shit mean. This shit mean. It should, but can
[52:53] Speaker 2: you handle that? But can you handle that? Mr. B,
[52:56] Speaker 2: where can he go? Los Angeles Lakers. You don't run this.
[53:00] Speaker 2: Where can he go, sir? No trade call. Mentally for him. Yeah,
[53:03] Speaker 2: but you don't run the Lakers, though. This is a
[53:05] Speaker 2: whole ballgame over here. He did. He ran what? He
[53:08] Speaker 2: did run the Lakers, man. He did.
[53:10] Speaker 6: Man, listen, if he don't want to be here, listen,
[53:13] Speaker 6: we can go. I'm just saying you think can he
[53:16] Speaker 6: handle that? Not having the power that he always had.
[53:19] Speaker 2: I don't think the Lakers care if he can. The
[53:21] Speaker 2: thing is, do you want to be here or not? Like,
[53:23] Speaker 2: at this point. Because, like you said, 77 going to
[53:25] Speaker 2: be here. So let us know what you're going to do, bro.
[53:29] Speaker 2: That's LeBron. I don't know. That's tough.
[53:33] Speaker 6: Been a superstar for so long like that.
[53:36] Speaker 2: I mean, that's what I'm saying. It's on him. It's
[53:39] Speaker 2: on him. To see if he wants to. I mean,
[53:41] Speaker 2: they did the same thing.
[53:42] Speaker 10: Right now, it don't look like he can handle it.
[53:43] Speaker 10: They did the same shit to Russell. No, he's not.
[53:47] Speaker 10: He's playing the cards that's dealt. Do you gentlemen think
[53:51] Speaker 10: LeBron falls in line? How does this end?
[53:54] Speaker 1: I'm a big believer of keeping it a buck. You
[53:58] Speaker 1: know what I'm saying? Keeping it trail. Niggas in the way.
[54:03] Speaker 1: They need to move around. Holding shit up. You know
[54:06] Speaker 1: what I'm saying? A lot of things could have happened.
[54:09] Speaker 1: Let's just be honest. When LeBron is locked in, he
[54:14] Speaker 1: makes the runs. He takes his teams to the next
[54:17] Speaker 1: level when he's locked in. He don't look locked in
[54:21] Speaker 1: at all this summer. Even when he was with AD,
[54:24] Speaker 1: him and AD were locked in. For at least three years,
[54:28] Speaker 1: they were locked in. They still didn't have pieces that
[54:31] Speaker 1: could take them where they wanted.
[54:32] Speaker 2: To go, but we knew when them two.
[54:35] Speaker 1: Guys got on the floor together, the Lakers could make
[54:39] Speaker 1: a run, whether it was going to third or going
[54:42] Speaker 1: to fifth or sixth or or even getting out of
[54:44] Speaker 1: the play-in, we knew that the Lakers, with LeBron locked in,
[54:49] Speaker 1: we going to do this. Not being ready for the season, opener,
[54:55] Speaker 1: not being locked in with Luka, DeAndre Ayton comes in,
[55:01] Speaker 1: whether you're locked in with Austin Reeves or not, like
[55:04] Speaker 1: the team will have no cohesiveness right now. And you
[55:07] Speaker 1: were more locked in with JJ when he wasn't the
[55:09] Speaker 1: fucking coach, when you was on the podcast, right? than
[55:12] Speaker 1: you are now that he is the coach and trying
[55:14] Speaker 1: to figure out why J.J. is saying, man, I got
[55:17] Speaker 1: to accept guys where they are. You know, I can't
[55:19] Speaker 1: expect guys to come in and have the Kobe mindset.
[55:22] Speaker 2: Is that what J.J. said? I don't know.
[55:24] Speaker 1: I just heard it through the grapevine, getting DMs. Can
[55:27] Speaker 1: you send me somebody like Kobe? And I'm just like, yeah,
[55:31] Speaker 1: it makes sense. But you can't take away when Bron
[55:34] Speaker 1: is locked in what the fuck can happen and what
[55:37] Speaker 1: kind of, impact he has on the game. I just
[55:40] Speaker 1: think at this time, it's just about everything else but winning.
[55:45] Speaker 1: And for the Los Angeles Lakers to make a real
[55:48] Speaker 1: run at championship aspirations with a Luka Doncic who has
[55:53] Speaker 1: been to the finals, who got a little taste of
[55:56] Speaker 1: what it feels like to be there and get close
[55:59] Speaker 1: to the championship with Kyrie Irving, to not do it
[56:04] Speaker 1: with LeBron James... to come back and say, all right,
[56:07] Speaker 1: let's run it back. Let's see if we can get
[56:08] Speaker 1: closer this time. And for them not to have a
[56:12] Speaker 1: cohesive union in chemistry right now, like I have sciatica,
[56:16] Speaker 1: so I know what that shit feel like. That shit
[56:18] Speaker 1: ain't no fucking joke. But it look like a goddamn
[56:21] Speaker 1: joke to me.
[56:23] Speaker 2: You hear that, psychologist? You had psychology? The sciatic. Yeah,
[56:27] Speaker 2: I had psychology. He took psychology. I took psychology. What
[56:31] Speaker 2: is a sciatica? Oh, ayahuasca. Ayahuasca? Yeah, what did you have? Ayahuasca?
[56:37] Speaker 2: What is it, though? What is a sciatica? It's a nerve, Danny. Sciatica?
[56:40] Speaker 2: A sciatica? In Rwanda? Hotel Rwanda? I haven't said anything. Okay.
[56:48] Speaker 2: The sciatica. The sciatica? Catechist? Cialis? It's an inflammation of
[56:54] Speaker 2: the sciatic nerve. What? It's nerve damage? It's a nerve inflammation.
[56:59] Speaker 2: It impacts. It can go from your neck all the
[57:01] Speaker 2: way down to your... Yeah. That shit hurt. That shit hurt.
[57:04] Speaker 2: That shit hurt like a motherfucker. I swear I had
[57:06] Speaker 2: that shit. The sciatica down. My foot was numb. Oh, shit.
[57:09] Speaker 2: Everything go numb. You know what I'm saying? That was
[57:11] Speaker 2: a whole... If he lock in, he'll be good. That was... Yeah.
[57:13] Speaker 2: That was syphilis. It was. That's what they said. They
[57:18] Speaker 2: said that. They said that.
[57:20] Speaker 1: They said if I didn't treat it, if I didn't get.
[57:23] Speaker 6: It treated, it would turn into a psychologist.
[57:27] Speaker 2: I didn't get it treated, so it turned into a psychologist.
[57:30] Speaker 3: Oh, shit.
[57:30] Speaker 2: Turned into a psychologist? It was mental. It was a
[57:33] Speaker 2: mental thing. Oh, shit.
[57:33] Speaker 11: I know what you had to do. Because you know
[57:35] Speaker 11: that game is That was from Charlotte. That was from Charlotte.
[57:44] Speaker 2: That was an old girl. Old girl in Charlotte. She's
[57:47] Speaker 2: doing better.
[57:47] Speaker 1: Sheesh.
[57:48] Speaker 3: Black, you do better. But, Sean, you said you don't
[57:50] Speaker 3: think LeBron's locked in. We asked the chat, is LeBron
[57:53] Speaker 3: locked in? 58% of the chat agrees. He says no.
[57:56] Speaker 3: Let's shift to this side. Do you guys feel like
[57:57] Speaker 3: LeBron's locked in? Look, he's playing golf. He's still getting
[58:00] Speaker 3: his work in. I don't think he can control whether
[58:03] Speaker 3: he gets a sciatica or not. Listen, I mean, you
[58:05] Speaker 3: got somebody who's on his 23rd year.
[58:08] Speaker 2: Let him be.
[58:09] Speaker 1: I mean, I can't challenge, you know, if he's.
[58:14] Speaker 2: Locked in or not locked in.
[58:16] Speaker 4: I can't, you know, I can't, you know, you know,
[58:21] Speaker 4: you know, give you a professional answer, you know, about
[58:25] Speaker 4: a year 23, right?
[58:26] Speaker 2: He's approached this game. All right. As one of the greats,
[58:30] Speaker 2: he's done played as one of the greats.
[58:32] Speaker 4: And, you know, we watched him, you know, dominate from
[58:36] Speaker 4: the beginning of the season, end of the season through Olympics.
[58:39] Speaker 4: We watch his work, work out like we see them
[58:42] Speaker 4: golfing in the rain. So we know when he is
[58:45] Speaker 4: about his business, about his business. So my only concern
[58:49] Speaker 4: about all of it is it was something Aiton said.
[58:52] Speaker 4: When they asked, you know, how you guys coming together?
[58:55] Speaker 4: And he's basically said that we ain't been together at all. Like, wait,
[59:01] Speaker 4: what do you mean? Together, y'all haven't ran nothing together
[59:08] Speaker 4: as a unit? That's the one thing that says, all right, man, okay,
[59:12] Speaker 4: we're playing games. Without LeBron or Luka. Yeah, so he
[59:16] Speaker 4: hasn't got to work with any of these guys to
[59:18] Speaker 4: understand timing, understand anything. Man, you're not going to win
[59:21] Speaker 4: a championship, you know, going into training camp. You're going
[59:24] Speaker 4: all the way to preseason, and you ain't played with
[59:26] Speaker 4: the big three or the big four.
[59:28] Speaker 2: That's not– I'm sorry. You ain't winning like that, right?
[59:34] Speaker 4: So, you know, that's the only thing that concerns me
[59:36] Speaker 4: is like, all right, man, like winning a championship for
[59:40] Speaker 4: the group ain't serious at this moment in time.
[59:44] Speaker 2: You don't feel like the Lakers really have a championship
[59:46] Speaker 2: as for it? No. You ain't practiced yet?
[59:49] Speaker 4: But as a group– And you got your injury, so
[59:54] Speaker 4: you ain't going to be around a team, you know, 10,
[59:56] Speaker 4: 15 games to the season.
[59:58] Speaker 1: I mean, like, when do y'all get to play? When
[1:00:00] Speaker 1: do we get to know each other?
[1:00:01] Speaker 2: As a leader.
[1:00:02] Speaker 1: When do we get to know each other? You can
[1:00:04] Speaker 1: be there. You can be there, though. As a leader,
[1:00:06] Speaker 1: you can actually be there. Not practicing, but just being
[1:00:09] Speaker 1: that guy.
[1:00:10] Speaker 6: What do Lockdown and Phil LeBron look like?
[1:00:12] Speaker 2: Does anybody know that? Miami Heat. I mean, whatever.
[1:00:15] Speaker 4: I mean, but he was still out doing. No, what
[1:00:18] Speaker 4: I'm saying is when they were in Miami, they were
[1:00:20] Speaker 4: together as a unit, though. They were together as a group.
[1:00:22] Speaker 2: All those TikTok challenges in Miami. No, but I'm saying
[1:00:25] Speaker 2: they was a group. They was a unit.
[1:00:27] Speaker 1: They wasn't having that. They went to lunch together. They
[1:00:30] Speaker 1: went to dinner together. They went to movies together. LeBron
[1:00:32] Speaker 1: makes you do that. He makes you be a team.
[1:00:36] Speaker 1: But so the fact that these guys have to practice together, though. Like,
[1:00:40] Speaker 1: come on, think about.
[1:00:41] Speaker 4: Where we are.
[1:00:41] Speaker 2: I know, but I'm not saying it's summertime. But they
[1:00:44] Speaker 2: haven't practiced together. That's the only time. You do it,
[1:00:46] Speaker 2: it's summertime.
[1:00:47] Speaker 6: Wherever he at, playing in the league, losing weight, locked in.
[1:00:53] Speaker 6: LeBron 40-something, he's out here trying to figure out if
[1:00:56] Speaker 6: he's going to be a Laker.
[1:00:57] Speaker 2: Or somewhere else. Yeah, but that's what I'm saying. We're
[1:00:59] Speaker 2: in October. But he's still LeBron. No, LeBron is LeBron.
[1:01:03] Speaker 2: We're talking about a team thing.
[1:01:05] Speaker 4: So that, like, let's imagine me and you on the
[1:01:08] Speaker 4: same team.
[1:01:09] Speaker 1: And me and you never worked out yet. I don't
[1:01:13] Speaker 1: know what you do. I don't know what you like.
[1:01:16] Speaker 2: Right? That's going to... It's.
[1:01:18] Speaker 4: Going to take some time. So, the fact that they're
[1:01:20] Speaker 4: not doing this in training camp or in practice, like, oh,
[1:01:23] Speaker 4: let me see how you like your passes. How do
[1:01:24] Speaker 4: you like your lobs? Do you like bounce passes? Nick,
[1:01:26] Speaker 4: you know better, bro. You played with the Warriors.
[1:01:29] Speaker 2: That's what I'm saying.
[1:01:31] Speaker 6: Steve Kerr told us don't come, don't touch a ball,
[1:01:33] Speaker 6: don't come back into a training camp.
[1:01:34] Speaker 1: But when you got there, when you got there, go
[1:01:37] Speaker 1: on vacation. Was those guys already locked in with each
[1:01:40] Speaker 1: other when you got there? Answer that question, though.
[1:01:44] Speaker 12: They played together, but they didn't see each other in
[1:01:46] Speaker 12: the summertime. But they already know each other. They know
[1:01:50] Speaker 12: each other. They ain't even got to do that. You
[1:01:52] Speaker 12: got new players on this team. Like, one is a main.
[1:01:54] Speaker 2: Guy that, is he a pop guy? Does he roll guy?
[1:01:59] Speaker 4: That's what I'm saying. It's like, You would try to
[1:02:01] Speaker 4: get that before the season, but, you know, we had
[1:02:03] Speaker 4: training camp to learn that.
[1:02:04] Speaker 6: That's the only thing. They don't got training camp. That
[1:02:06] Speaker 6: shit looked like preaching started like that.
[1:02:08] Speaker 2: But the timing, A.M.
[1:02:09] Speaker 1: Actually said in a press conference, the timing with Luka,
[1:02:13] Speaker 1: I got to figure out, you know, how to go
[1:02:15] Speaker 1: get the lob because... It's his eyes that show when
[1:02:19] Speaker 1: to go and I ain't really locked in with his,
[1:02:22] Speaker 1: how he do it yet. So now you got to
[1:02:24] Speaker 1: learn on the fly now. Now that's a turnover here,
[1:02:27] Speaker 1: a turnover there. Now you got to go in the
[1:02:29] Speaker 1: huddle and be like, my bad, I'm still trying to
[1:02:31] Speaker 1: get acclimated to how you throw lobs when we could
[1:02:34] Speaker 1: have been doing this shit. When I got signed, the
[1:02:37] Speaker 1: moment I got signed, As a leader, I'm like, let
[1:02:41] Speaker 1: me go get with the big fella because I'm going
[1:02:43] Speaker 1: to need him.
[1:02:44] Speaker 2: But you can't because you're playing overseas. You can when
[1:02:46] Speaker 2: you get back. And now they're doing it now. He's
[1:02:49] Speaker 2: been back. He ain't worked out. Remember, he just got
[1:02:52] Speaker 2: a full month. But they haven't.
[1:02:54] Speaker 3: Luka's been recovering from Eurobasket, hasn't practiced much with the Lakers.
[1:02:58] Speaker 3: This is what Aiden said, that he hasn't got an
[1:02:59] Speaker 3: opportunity to really get out there with LeBron or Luka
[1:03:01] Speaker 3: yet to figure it out. Obviously, Aiden's been playing in
[1:03:04] Speaker 3: these games. They played together for the first time. He
[1:03:07] Speaker 3: and Luka played for the first time.
[1:03:08] Speaker 1: That was Luka's first game back, so he was really
[1:03:11] Speaker 1: out there like, I don't know what.
[1:03:12] Speaker 6: Luka's going to do. It's hard to figure out this
[1:03:14] Speaker 6: set of screen. That is not hard.
[1:03:16] Speaker 2: And roll? And roll. If you can't do that, nah,
[1:03:18] Speaker 2: I'm just going to come on. It's pick and pop guys,
[1:03:21] Speaker 2: pick and roll guys. When you went from Mulberry to J.K. right?
[1:03:30] Speaker 2: Very different players, right?
[1:03:32] Speaker 4: How long did it take for you to just know
[1:03:35] Speaker 4: what Jason Key was going to do? Like, when he
[1:03:38] Speaker 4: wanted you to spin just without saying stuff.
[1:03:40] Speaker 2: Oh, he just looked. Like, he'll look.
[1:03:42] Speaker 1: Like, there's things, and he got to know how you spin,
[1:03:45] Speaker 1: how fast the spin is.
[1:03:46] Speaker 2: Like, on this side. It wasn't no expectation type shit. Like,
[1:03:49] Speaker 2: he had to teach you this. No, some of that shit,
[1:03:52] Speaker 2: he was just throwing that ball. He just threw it.
[1:03:54] Speaker 2: Just threw it.
[1:03:55] Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah. Sometimes you can be standing right in front
[1:03:58] Speaker 4: of him. He just throw it by the rim.
[1:03:59] Speaker 2: Oh, shit.
[1:04:00] Speaker 4: Expect me to go get him.
[1:04:01] Speaker 2: I was like, oh, shit. So... But how.
[1:04:07] Speaker 4: Many games into the season before you know what to do?
[1:04:10] Speaker 2: All you got to do is just jump.
[1:04:12] Speaker 4: Yeah, because some of that shit, that motherfucker is flying
[1:04:14] Speaker 4: by me. What the fuck was that to? It's so
[1:04:16] Speaker 4: hard to jump. You're ducking out the way of the
[1:04:18] Speaker 4: ball and shit. But you know what I'm saying? It
[1:04:20] Speaker 4: took them a couple. Remember, they went to the.
[1:04:22] Speaker 2: final. Two years.
[1:04:23] Speaker 1: But it took him a couple months to realize, oh,
[1:04:27] Speaker 1: if he see an inch, he's throwing. I got to
[1:04:30] Speaker 1: go get everything. Because he's just a ball bird just
[1:04:33] Speaker 1: coming down. I got to wait and figure it out.
[1:04:36] Speaker 2: Now I run. Now he's throwing that motherfucker like, and
[1:04:38] Speaker 2: I'm dugging out the way of that. Who's that? My bad.
[1:04:43] Speaker 2: I'm not used to this. This FedEx first, the next
[1:04:48] Speaker 2: day delivery. Okay, this same day delivery.
[1:04:50] Speaker 6: It's that hard to pick a roll and get a rebound.
[1:04:52] Speaker 6: You shouldn't play in the league. That's what I'm saying. Nigga,
[1:04:55] Speaker 6: come here.
[1:04:57] Speaker 2: My fingers tell you to come here. You can't understand.
[1:04:59] Speaker 2: Come here. Let's get the fuck out of the game.
[1:05:02] Speaker 2: Vibe like this.
[1:05:03] Speaker 6: And you can't move towards me and set the screen.
[1:05:06] Speaker 6: Just get the fuck out the game. So you can
[1:05:07] Speaker 6: have anybody there.
[1:05:08] Speaker 1: If you see me throw the ball up and you
[1:05:09] Speaker 1: don't jump and try to get it, get the fuck
[1:05:11] Speaker 1: out the game.
[1:05:12] Speaker 2: You don't need Aiden.
[1:05:12] Speaker 6: If you don't say, if I say get out the
[1:05:14] Speaker 6: way and you don't move, just get out the game.
[1:05:16] Speaker 2: It's so easy.
[1:05:17] Speaker 1: You don't need Aiden then. You can pick any 4-5 then, right? Shit,
[1:05:22] Speaker 1: he's had. Luka had.
[1:05:23] Speaker 2: That's funny. So you don't need a big cover. I'm
[1:05:27] Speaker 2: just saying, Luke. I'm asking.
[1:05:28] Speaker 1: You saying if you just got to roll and just
[1:05:30] Speaker 1: run and dunk, then you can put anybody there.
[1:05:33] Speaker 2: Man. Right now you have.
[1:05:37] Speaker 3: You know you need a skill big man play with
[1:05:39] Speaker 3: a guy like that they can catch the ball and.
[1:05:42] Speaker 1: Score the ball What's so all right, what the fuck
[1:05:44] Speaker 1: he need to learn from Luca that I So hard.
[1:06:02] Speaker 6: Look at you this way and you jump.
[1:06:08] Speaker 1: How does DeAndre Ayton get his points?
[1:06:10] Speaker 2: I'm going to do this and then you turn and spin.
[1:06:13] Speaker 2: It ain't so hard to set a goddamn screen and
[1:06:15] Speaker 2: roll and throw it up. Nick, let's talk hoop. Let's
[1:06:18] Speaker 2: talk hoop.
[1:06:19] Speaker 1: How does DeAndre Ayton get his points? Just say you
[1:06:22] Speaker 1: don't know. Just say you don't know.
[1:06:25] Speaker 2: All right, bro. Say you don't know. I don't know.
[1:06:27] Speaker 2: I don't know shit about that. Say you don't know.
[1:06:28] Speaker 2: I don't know nothing about that.
[1:06:29] Speaker 1: DeAndre Aitken gets his points in the mid-post on picking pops.
[1:06:34] Speaker 2: Pick and pops, right? Pick and pops. So what do
[1:06:36] Speaker 2: you got to do? If he's rolling.
[1:06:38] Speaker 6: So what the fuck do you got to do? If
[1:06:41] Speaker 6: I tell you to come here, what are you doing?
[1:06:44] Speaker 2: I'm popping. Oh, so you're going to pop without the pick.
[1:06:47] Speaker 2: This is what I do. I don't get it. All right,
[1:06:49] Speaker 2: so you're going to pop without the pick. Get the
[1:06:50] Speaker 2: fuck out the game. Is that called a slip? Get
[1:06:52] Speaker 2: out the game. Is it called a slip, Nick? Get
[1:06:53] Speaker 2: out the game. I thought we was talking who? Get
[1:06:56] Speaker 2: the fuck over there. I thought we was talking who?
[1:06:58] Speaker 2: Is it a pick and slip? Do you slip? Go
[1:07:00] Speaker 2: with Jackson Hayes. Do you slip the pick?
[1:07:02] Speaker 1: Do we slip the pick? Do you ever slip to pick?
[1:07:05] Speaker 1: If you slip every time, you're going to get the
[1:07:06] Speaker 1: fuck out.
[1:07:07] Speaker 2: I get it. I get it. You're being funny. I
[1:07:08] Speaker 2: get it. But at some point, we got to talk who?
[1:07:10] Speaker 2: We are. So, okay.
[1:07:12] Speaker 6: Make it harder than we did. Is it a pick
[1:07:14] Speaker 6: and pop or not? You're going to slip every time.
[1:07:17] Speaker 6: That's what you're telling me.
[1:07:18] Speaker 2: If I don't set a screen, what is that? What
[1:07:21] Speaker 2: am I doing? You're going to slip every time. If
[1:07:23] Speaker 2: I'm not setting a screen, what is it? You're going
[1:07:25] Speaker 2: to slip every time. All right. So, what's going to
[1:07:27] Speaker 2: happen when you do that every time? It's a one-on-one
[1:07:29] Speaker 2: or a switch. Okay. You and Jackson Hayes. Nick. God damn. Nick.
[1:07:34] Speaker 2: You can't make it harder than what it is. Luka
[1:07:36] Speaker 2: is set. Come set the pick and roll. There ain't
[1:07:39] Speaker 2: no pick. It's just a switch. Now I'm going one-on-one.
[1:07:41] Speaker 2: That's Luka basketball. Is it not? I'm not going to
[1:07:45] Speaker 2: argue with you. Is it not? Come on, now. We're
[1:07:47] Speaker 2: here to argue. Come on. We're here to argue. You
[1:07:49] Speaker 2: don't want to argue, too? Come on, man. That's going
[1:07:52] Speaker 2: to be the third one. Come on. I'm talking hoop.
[1:07:54] Speaker 2: You ain't going to pick. I just want to talk hoop, bro.
[1:07:57] Speaker 2: That's it. Let's talk hoop. You being funny. I get it.
[1:08:00] Speaker 2: I'm telling you, bro. You're not making no sense. If
[1:08:04] Speaker 2: DeAndre Ayton is a pick and pop player and we
[1:08:08] Speaker 2: don't work on pick and pop. What? He said he's
[1:08:10] Speaker 2: not going to pick. It's a slip out. If he's
[1:08:12] Speaker 2: slipping out, nigga, it's a pop. Every time. Yes. This
[1:08:15] Speaker 2: is what I do. Because I'm getting my shot here.
[1:08:17] Speaker 2: I'm a shooter. I'm a shooter. I'm a big man
[1:08:20] Speaker 2: that can shoot the little mid-range. And I'm going to pop.
[1:08:23] Speaker 2: He's just going to pop, baby. He's telling me he's
[1:08:24] Speaker 2: popping every time. So what? You right. OK, I know
[1:08:27] Speaker 2: I'm right. I'm telling you you're right. No, but you're
[1:08:30] Speaker 2: talking about, oh, just roll to the basket. Just roll
[1:08:32] Speaker 2: to the basket and know, nigga, that's not what I do.
[1:08:35] Speaker 2: That's not how I'm effective. He's going to be with
[1:08:37] Speaker 2: Jackson Hayes. Like he said you could put anybody out
[1:08:39] Speaker 2: there and do the same saying we ain't talking no
[1:08:41] Speaker 2: who where he can get his a.
[1:08:53] Speaker 1: Like he said, you can put anybody out there and
[1:08:56] Speaker 1: do the same thing.
[1:08:57] Speaker 2: We ain't talking no hoop.
[1:08:59] Speaker 1: Where he can get his 18, 19, what he used
[1:09:01] Speaker 1: to get on a pick and pop.
[1:09:03] Speaker 2: Let me get this. Let me get my shot going.
[1:09:05] Speaker 3: But what's the real expectation for DeAndre with this Lakers squad?
[1:09:08] Speaker 3: I think somewhere in the 14 to 10 range is
[1:09:10] Speaker 3: average for the last seven seasons.
[1:09:12] Speaker 1: He need way more than that. That's why I say it.
[1:09:15] Speaker 1: him getting in there with Luka, finding out what his
[1:09:18] Speaker 1: soft spots, sweet spots, all the spots.
[1:09:20] Speaker 2: He need to get him to 18, 19. Because you're
[1:09:23] Speaker 2: going to need that from him.
[1:09:24] Speaker 1: But if you're not going to cater to that, you're
[1:09:26] Speaker 1: going to give him 12, 14, he ain't going to
[1:09:28] Speaker 1: have shit. Y'all going to be trash. Y'all going to
[1:09:31] Speaker 1: be looking at him like he the problem. He going
[1:09:33] Speaker 1: to be like, I didn't get to practice with you, motherfucker,
[1:09:35] Speaker 1: didn't even let you know what I'm good at.
[1:09:36] Speaker 2: I just like to pop.
[1:09:46] Speaker 4: No, but he right there with Aiden. Like, if Aiden
[1:09:51] Speaker 4: can be the third option.
[1:09:55] Speaker 2: Over A.R.? If Aiden can be the third, I mean,
[1:09:59] Speaker 2: if he can actually be the third option and A.R.
[1:10:02] Speaker 2: is the fourth option, we will be real good. Real tough.
[1:10:05] Speaker 4: Like, I mean, just think about what I'm saying. If
[1:10:07] Speaker 4: he's a big dominant force down there. Like he's catching
[1:10:13] Speaker 4: lobs and they're putting him in the post and he
[1:10:15] Speaker 4: has that post presence. And he's averaging about 18 and
[1:10:18] Speaker 4: AR is averaging about 17. That's a good-ass team now.
[1:10:22] Speaker 2: Solid. He needs to play like a Visa Zubac.
[1:10:25] Speaker 4: Like they did last year. The 108 needs to play
[1:10:29] Speaker 4: like a Visa Zubac.
[1:10:30] Speaker 2: Last year's Zubac. Yes. Okay, not the one before. No,
[1:10:32] Speaker 2: last year. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Him. Yep.
[1:10:36] Speaker 4: He's averaging those. He is the third option.
[1:10:38] Speaker 2: Yep.
[1:10:39] Speaker 4: In order for the Lakers to do anything this season,
[1:10:43] Speaker 4: DeAndre Ayton has to be the third option. You can't
[1:10:46] Speaker 4: rely on three perimeter players to be your main guys.
[1:10:49] Speaker 4: You need somebody you can fucking throw the ball to
[1:10:52] Speaker 4: when you need a bucket to get teams in a
[1:10:54] Speaker 4: penalty along with the penetration that Luka puts on the defense.
[1:10:59] Speaker 4: You need somebody who's a lot better at the rim,
[1:11:01] Speaker 4: somebody who can throw the ball to on the block,
[1:11:03] Speaker 4: to slow the game down at times. He can do that.
[1:11:08] Speaker 4: He has to be the third option. He has to
[1:11:09] Speaker 4: be the third option.
[1:11:12] Speaker 2: And when in his career has he ever been a
[1:11:13] Speaker 2: lot like that? I know, but never been a lot.
[1:11:16] Speaker 2: Because he had nobody to throw at him. He had.
[1:11:18] Speaker 2: Chris Paul. Who?
[1:11:20] Speaker 1: When he was with the Suns. He was with the Suns.
[1:11:23] Speaker 1: Chris Paul is Bob City.
[1:11:25] Speaker 2: But D-Book number one, that wasn't the same Lob City.
[1:11:28] Speaker 2: He averaged 18-9. He averaged 18-9 with that team. That's
[1:11:30] Speaker 2: what I'm saying.
[1:11:31] Speaker 1: But it's a different animal, though. But what I'm saying
[1:11:39] Speaker 1: is he ain't never been a lot.
[1:11:41] Speaker 2: I'll get more lobster.
[1:11:42] Speaker 1: Deandre ain't never been the guy to go to get
[1:11:44] Speaker 1: the live. He's always been like a Lamar Chris Aldridge.
[1:11:47] Speaker 1: He's been the guy come over here. Let me get
[1:11:49] Speaker 1: my little shit off. This is where my sweet spot
[1:11:51] Speaker 1: is not being a tough guy.
[1:11:52] Speaker 4: But then been locked in every six points to his average.
[1:11:55] Speaker 1: It would if that was his game, but that is
[1:11:57] Speaker 1: the difference you force him.
[1:11:59] Speaker 2: He has to do both. He's not Miles Turner. He's
[1:12:02] Speaker 2: not Brooke Lopez, right? No, he's not.
[1:12:04] Speaker 4: He's not Carl Anthony Towns. He's not those guys, right?
[1:12:09] Speaker 4: He's more athletic than those guys.
[1:12:10] Speaker 2: Yes, for sure.
[1:12:11] Speaker 4: So, therefore, if you put him in a situation to
[1:12:16] Speaker 4: where you're having conversations with him, but if he had
[1:12:18] Speaker 4: the time to work with those guys in the preseason
[1:12:20] Speaker 4: to be able to mix it up, practice the lob,
[1:12:23] Speaker 4: practice the middie, pop the 16, 17, where he wants
[1:12:25] Speaker 4: to catch it at, right?
[1:12:27] Speaker 2: Yes.
[1:12:27] Speaker 4: Yeah, but so... He can but it's a different animal
[1:12:31] Speaker 4: with Luca. Then Chris Paul is what I'm saying, right?
[1:12:35] Speaker 1: He can get back to that the 1819 and night.
[1:12:38] Speaker 1: He's the third option at being a average being your
[1:12:42] Speaker 1: little pick and pop.
[1:12:43] Speaker 4: You can that's 1213 points. You've been a lot that
[1:12:46] Speaker 4: that's six to eight more. Yeah getting to the line
[1:12:49] Speaker 4: because you shoot a decent clip from the line. So
[1:12:50] Speaker 4: now you have to 1920 points game. Now you the
[1:12:53] Speaker 4: third option and I.
[1:12:54] Speaker 1: Think it was how we get there if we ain't
[1:12:56] Speaker 1: practicing together.
[1:12:57] Speaker 4: It's conversations man at the time.
[1:12:59] Speaker 2: Because they ain't on the floor together.
[1:13:01] Speaker 4: If they ain't on the floor together, all you can
[1:13:02] Speaker 4: do is talk it out and over time let it
[1:13:06] Speaker 4: naturally progress. But you've got to talk these situations out.
[1:13:09] Speaker 4: When Jackson Hayes is in the game, when Coloco is
[1:13:11] Speaker 4: in the game, or when them other guys are in
[1:13:12] Speaker 4: the game with them, hey, so when you threw that
[1:13:15] Speaker 4: to him, what did you see? It's those things that
[1:13:17] Speaker 4: you have to do when you're not spending the time together.
[1:13:19] Speaker 4: The difference is Jackson Hayes.
[1:13:21] Speaker 1: Jackson Hayes hasn't established himself to do nothing else but
[1:13:24] Speaker 1: go to the fucking rim and get the line. That's
[1:13:26] Speaker 1: all we know. Luka knows that. You're going to go
[1:13:28] Speaker 1: catch this shit, bro. When I get deep into the page, boom,
[1:13:31] Speaker 1: I'm going to throw it to you because this is
[1:13:33] Speaker 1: all you know. But now, we got DeAndre Ayton who
[1:13:36] Speaker 1: has more to his game than just going to go
[1:13:38] Speaker 1: get the fucking line. He's thinking, DeAndre's thinking, hey, I'm
[1:13:42] Speaker 1: going to read the floor. I can get this little elbow.
[1:13:46] Speaker 1: I can get in the little mid-range post over here
[1:13:48] Speaker 1: to get out of his way. And not just be
[1:13:51] Speaker 1: that threat. Now, that's the communication we got to go.
[1:13:54] Speaker 1: It's like, hey, Luke, at what point should I roll?
[1:13:57] Speaker 1: At what point should I go? I'm over here in
[1:14:01] Speaker 1: my sweet spot waiting to get out of your way.
[1:14:03] Speaker 1: It's almost like I'm in the doghouse where I know
[1:14:05] Speaker 1: I can hit this Luke Longley, boom, little sweet spot.
[1:14:09] Speaker 2: That's me.
[1:14:10] Speaker 1: But if I'm not communicating that with Luka, Luka going
[1:14:13] Speaker 1: in there expecting the shit that Jackson Hayes is doing,
[1:14:16] Speaker 1: he's like, bro, go to the fucking dorm.
[1:14:18] Speaker 2: Go to the dorm. Look, man, Luka's smart. First of all,
[1:14:21] Speaker 2: Luka IQ. First of all, Luka going to make him better.
[1:14:25] Speaker 4: There's two things that you cannot do. You cannot mention
[1:14:27] Speaker 4: the Charlotte Hornets and Luke Longley in the same day.
[1:14:30] Speaker 2: Why? That's bad hoop. Oh, Luke Longley wasn't a part
[1:14:33] Speaker 2: of it? That's bad hoop. Oh, okay. So, okay. We're
[1:14:37] Speaker 2: talking a different hoop then. No, we're talking a different hoop. Okay,
[1:14:39] Speaker 2: so Luke's only respect, he gives arena percent of my
[1:14:41] Speaker 2: underdog hoop. I thought he was.
[1:14:43] Speaker 4: So, like, even when he was with Chris Paul, remember,
[1:14:45] Speaker 4: Chris Paul's six foot trying to throw a lob.
[1:14:47] Speaker 2: Luke is all of them, you're 6'10. So when he
[1:14:50] Speaker 2: gets into there, usually he's taller than everybody else. So
[1:14:53] Speaker 2: you are, once Luka hits the paint, your big man
[1:14:56] Speaker 2: is activated. He is forced to challenge that shot.
[1:15:00] Speaker 1: That's where he's going to get a lot of, he
[1:15:02] Speaker 1: might not get the lob, but he's going to get
[1:15:04] Speaker 1: a lot of handoffs.
[1:15:04] Speaker 2: There's going to be a lot of this for sure.
[1:15:06] Speaker 2: That's spacing, ain't it? Huh? That's spacing? No, it's just
[1:15:08] Speaker 2: reading the play. Reading the play. Reading the play. So
[1:15:11] Speaker 2: he's not going.
[1:15:12] Speaker 4: To go to the... What your point is, so I hear, so.
[1:15:16] Speaker 4: You're saying his comfortability is the at the areas that
[1:15:20] Speaker 4: Anthony Davis plays.
[1:15:21] Speaker 2: Yes, right there.
[1:15:22] Speaker 4: And what do we say about Anthony Davis poor?
[1:15:25] Speaker 2: Presentation play a little fright sometimes.
[1:15:27] Speaker 4: But they plan them areas and they not gonna deviate
[1:15:30] Speaker 4: from that at times and we think it's a detriment
[1:15:33] Speaker 4: right to the team into what they try to do
[1:15:35] Speaker 4: as far as winning you got to be able to
[1:15:37] Speaker 4: do more and If he's hell-bent on just staying in
[1:15:39] Speaker 4: that pick-and-pop area, that's not going to work. The more
[1:15:42] Speaker 4: Luka penetrates, you have to be on the line with
[1:15:45] Speaker 4: him for those passes that y'all saying, the fake, the shot,
[1:15:48] Speaker 4: the diss, the to the lob.
[1:15:52] Speaker 2: Yeah.
[1:15:52] Speaker 4: So it's all of those things and not just being
[1:15:54] Speaker 4: a fucking robot.
[1:15:55] Speaker 2: Right?
[1:15:56] Speaker 4: Not being a robot like, shit, I just want the
[1:15:57] Speaker 4: ball here.
[1:15:58] Speaker 2: Right? I'm not moving. If you don't throw it.
[1:16:01] Speaker 4: I'm not going to move it. Then it's like, come on, dude.
[1:16:04] Speaker 2: Right.
[1:16:05] Speaker 7: But Luka IQ is so high. So he's going to
[1:16:09] Speaker 7: be able to put him in positions to where he's
[1:16:10] Speaker 7: going to get easy buckets without even knowing.
[1:16:12] Speaker 4: So if he was expecting him there and he don't
[1:16:14] Speaker 4: see him there, hey, when I go this way, I
[1:16:17] Speaker 4: need you to... So it's those conversations or just sitting
[1:16:20] Speaker 4: them down. I don't, like I said, I've never been
[1:16:21] Speaker 4: around there. I don't know if you can process film
[1:16:24] Speaker 4: or words or action, whatever it is. I'm saying, cause
[1:16:27] Speaker 4: everybody's different when it comes to this, right? I didn't
[1:16:30] Speaker 4: play with some guys that was held a hell of athletes,
[1:16:32] Speaker 4: but you can't show them. You can't walk. You got
[1:16:34] Speaker 4: to show them. Like you can't show them on film.
[1:16:36] Speaker 4: You got to actually go on the floor.
[1:16:38] Speaker 2: Listen.
[1:16:38] Speaker 1: Put his body here. Put another person here. Ain't no
[1:16:42] Speaker 1: cones and talking. No, they need to ask for fucking
[1:16:44] Speaker 1: people out there. They can see where they need to go.
[1:16:47] Speaker 1: You need to think for them. They can help you,
[1:16:49] Speaker 1: but you got to think for them. I don't know
[1:16:51] Speaker 1: if that's DeAndre Ayton or not, but we shall see
[1:16:55] Speaker 1: how this transpires. That's what I'm saying. If he was
[1:16:57] Speaker 1: the fourth option, like we was talking about, he would
[1:17:00] Speaker 1: be that guy that we don't care about what you're
[1:17:03] Speaker 1: comfortable with. You get your shit off the glass, big fella.
[1:17:06] Speaker 1: But y'all saying if he can be the third option,
[1:17:08] Speaker 1: The Lakers can make a move. That means we got
[1:17:11] Speaker 1: to find out what to do to get him in
[1:17:13] Speaker 1: his comfort zone during the game, whether it's in the
[1:17:16] Speaker 1: first quarter, the third quarter. Hey, we're going to DeAndre. JJ,
[1:17:21] Speaker 1: draw some shit up. Small little pick and pop for
[1:17:24] Speaker 1: DeAndre for three straight possessions where he can catch, shoot,
[1:17:27] Speaker 1: or catch and make a move, post up, whatever. Those
[1:17:31] Speaker 1: sweet spots are going to help him get comfortable with
[1:17:33] Speaker 1: doing all the other shit. Whether it's rolling and going
[1:17:37] Speaker 1: to get the lob, whether it's getting in the dunk
[1:17:39] Speaker 1: or going underneath, all of those small things come with
[1:17:42] Speaker 1: being comfortable and communicating that, hey, bro, we actually want
[1:17:45] Speaker 1: you to be the third option.
[1:17:47] Speaker 2: We want to get you involved.
[1:17:48] Speaker 3: But you got Austin Reeves trying to get an extension
[1:17:52] Speaker 3: this season. put up 20 pieces in each of the Lakers'
[1:17:55] Speaker 3: first three preseason games, I'm just saying.
[1:17:56] Speaker 2: He's still going to get his money.
[1:17:58] Speaker 4: He's still going to get his money.
[1:17:59] Speaker 2: But I'm trying to get these buckets.
[1:18:00] Speaker 4: It might look different if he's not the third scorer,
[1:18:03] Speaker 4: but he's proven enough to where they know what he
[1:18:07] Speaker 4: can be.
[1:18:07] Speaker 3: I'm saying that he's probably thinking in his head, I'm
[1:18:09] Speaker 3: trying to show y'all I'm the second option.
[1:18:11] Speaker 2: I hear you, but... Yeah, that's... I hear what you're thinking.
[1:18:15] Speaker 2: I mean, this is what you're thinking. This shit's your
[1:18:18] Speaker 2: ass right out of here. Come out here with that bullshit. Hey, hey.
[1:18:22] Speaker 4: Like he's one it's like he has to go from
[1:18:28] Speaker 4: two to four.
[1:18:29] Speaker 2: It's one is one of those So he's the one
[1:18:31] Speaker 2: who needs to make the sacrifice. No.
[1:18:32] Speaker 1: No, he has to step up right now If we
[1:18:37] Speaker 1: want to be good if a and don't step up
[1:18:39] Speaker 1: just say I want to be the third option Let's
[1:18:41] Speaker 1: do this and he takes a back seat and he
[1:18:43] Speaker 1: just out there then he does then we're not going
[1:18:47] Speaker 1: to be as strong like he needs to be very
[1:18:49] Speaker 1: dominant down there and because you have luca you have
[1:18:53] Speaker 1: ar who knows how to get fouls right you got
[1:18:55] Speaker 1: you got foul baiters and then added that with him
[1:18:58] Speaker 1: down there he shoots 87 for the.
[1:19:00] Speaker 2: Free throw line so shit that that is a.
[1:19:02] Speaker 1: Big change it's a big point because you look at
[1:19:04] Speaker 1: the clippers right you say zubat Norm Powell.
[1:19:08] Speaker 2: Norm Powell AR. Norm Powell, Kawhi go down, Norm Powell
[1:19:13] Speaker 2: go to what? Number two? Number two. Remember the conversation
[1:19:17] Speaker 2: we had about going.
[1:19:18] Speaker 1: Back from number two to the number four, right? So
[1:19:22] Speaker 1: if Zubac has established himself as the dominant number three,
[1:19:25] Speaker 1: I know what I'm going to get. I'm going to
[1:19:27] Speaker 1: get my shit off on number three. James is obviously
[1:19:30] Speaker 1: the number one because Kawhi's out. Kawhi come back. This
[1:19:33] Speaker 1: is LeBron. LeBron come back. I'm in my number one spot.
[1:19:39] Speaker 2: 1B. 1A, 1B.
[1:19:42] Speaker 1: Now, Zubat, hey, look, you keep doing your thing, but Norm.
[1:19:46] Speaker 1: This ain't normal no more.
[1:19:51] Speaker 2: Now, where's Norm now? Take your answer. All right. All right, Norm.
[1:19:57] Speaker 2: South Beach. It's hot down there. All right, well, let's
[1:20:00] Speaker 2: keep this thing moving. But you was saying....
[1:20:04] Speaker 1: He's going to start when Kawhi comes. He's going to
[1:20:06] Speaker 1: be the number two when Kawhi comes back. He's going
[1:20:08] Speaker 1: to be.
[1:20:08] Speaker 2: No. Ship his ass. Ship his ass right to the corner.
[1:20:11] Speaker 2: We were talking about. You and your 24. What was
[1:20:13] Speaker 2: we talking about? We were talking about. You and your 24.
[1:20:15] Speaker 2: It's tough to go back. You and your. Yes, exactly.
[1:20:18] Speaker 1: That's what we were talking about. It was going to happen, though.
[1:20:21] Speaker 1: You were saying when Kawhi comes back, he's still going
[1:20:23] Speaker 1: to be Norm. He's still going to be Norm.
[1:20:25] Speaker 2: No, he was trying to be Norm. That's why they
[1:20:27] Speaker 2: didn't go no further.
[1:20:28] Speaker 4: I'll send it was gonna be not trying to be wait.
[1:20:30] Speaker 4: Look you're gonna be did not That's why.
[1:20:32] Speaker 1: He went to that he know I'm you know, he
[1:20:33] Speaker 1: can go beat himself in Miami.
[1:20:35] Speaker 2: No, I'm your you and your 24. Let me be
[1:20:36] Speaker 2: that number. You can go Yeah.
[1:20:52] Speaker 1: Do you want to stay or you want to go no,
[1:20:53] Speaker 1: I'm gonna go I'm like sitting in this for you
[1:20:56] Speaker 1: almost all sorry you count your money already Coming back
[1:20:59] Speaker 1: to this city I get to go back to the.
[1:21:13] Speaker 2: Yeah, come on, man. Got no show job.
[1:21:15] Speaker 4: We got Mojo on this thing.
[1:21:17] Speaker 2: This guy like, hey, hey.
[1:21:19] Speaker 1: It's like your uncle come to the car, right, and
[1:21:24] Speaker 1: you sit in the front seat. He just open the
[1:21:26] Speaker 1: door like. Get your ass in the back.
[1:21:27] Speaker 2: He don't even say nothing.
[1:21:28] Speaker 1: He don't even say nothing.
[1:21:29] Speaker 2: He just open the door. Don't look at you.
[1:21:31] Speaker 1: You know what that open means. Yeah, just open the
[1:21:33] Speaker 1: door and just step back and look at you like.
[1:21:35] Speaker 2: And Norman's like us.
[1:21:38] Speaker 4: Yeah, and it's the old school car with the front seat.
[1:21:40] Speaker 4: We were starving for four games.
[1:21:44] Speaker 8: We were starving for four games.
[1:21:50] Speaker 3: Let's keep this thing moving. Today's show is sponsored by
[1:21:52] Speaker 3: Rough Greens. Sometimes in life, if you want to get
[1:21:54] Speaker 3: to the truth, you got to look at the numbers. Unfortunately, 50%
[1:21:57] Speaker 3: of all dogs over 10 years old will die of cancer.
[1:22:00] Speaker 3: The other 40% to 50% will suffer miserably from skin
[1:22:03] Speaker 3: issues or joint problems, and this is widely attributed to
[1:22:05] Speaker 3: your dog's diet. These numbers are what inspired Dr. Dennis
[1:22:08] Speaker 3: Black to create Rough Greens. So here's the good news.
[1:22:11] Speaker 3: With thousands of testimonials and five-star reviews every month, Rough

[1:22:38] Speaker 3: food to improve your dog's health. Just add a scoop
[1:22:41] Speaker 3: of Rough Greens. All right, well, let's keep it in
[1:22:43] Speaker 3: the Western Conference. Talk about what's going down in Houston.
[1:22:47] Speaker 3: So after a second place finish in the Western Conference
[1:22:49] Speaker 3: last season, but first round exit by Chef Curry and
[1:22:51] Speaker 3: the Warriors, Rockets made a blockbuster deal before the finals
[1:22:54] Speaker 3: even ended, landing KD from the Suns in exchange for
[1:22:57] Speaker 3: Jalen Green and Dylan Brooks in an NBA record seven
[1:23:00] Speaker 3: team trade. So one of the biggest issues Houston had
[1:23:02] Speaker 3: last season was the lack of a go-to guy, and
[1:23:05] Speaker 3: it bit them in the booty cheeks come playoff time.
[1:23:08] Speaker 3: Now they've added one of the most prolific bucket getters
[1:23:10] Speaker 3: in NBA history, Durant, coming off a season where he
[1:23:12] Speaker 3: averaged 27.6 rebounds, four assists in 62 games. Would have
[1:23:16] Speaker 3: made All-NBA if he hit that 65-game threshold. He had, what, 53,
[1:23:20] Speaker 3: I think, what, 53, 42, 84 shooting splits, if I'm
[1:23:24] Speaker 3: not mistaken. Now they pair him with a young, solid core,
[1:23:26] Speaker 3: including all-star Alperin Shangoon, all-defensive first-teamer Amon Thompson, along with
[1:23:31] Speaker 3: Jamari Smith Jr.
[1:23:32] Speaker 2: Stephen Adams. Dorian Finney-Smith, formerly known as Black and Miles.
[1:23:35] Speaker 3: Black and Miles. Formerly known as Black and Miles. Did
[1:23:37] Speaker 3: not get to take that name with him to Houston.
[1:23:40] Speaker 3: And Clint Capella. Rockets were dealt a devastating blow before
[1:23:44] Speaker 3: the season even started. Losing starting point guard Fred Van
[1:23:47] Speaker 3: Fleet to a torn ACL. Likely have him sidelined for
[1:23:50] Speaker 3: this season. But looking at this roster, this Rocket squad,
[1:23:54] Speaker 3: what they have on this roster right now, Kevin Wayne
[1:23:56] Speaker 3: Durant doing his thing. Does Kevin Durant make the Rockets
[1:23:59] Speaker 3: a legit championship contender? in a tough Western Conference? I mean,
[1:24:07] Speaker 3: I can't say.
[1:24:09] Speaker 4: Okay, OKC is young, but their starting five wasn't young.
[1:24:14] Speaker 4: That wasn't a young starting five. The rest of the
[1:24:16] Speaker 4: bench that wasn't playing was very young players, right? That
[1:24:20] Speaker 4: made the team look young. But when you're talking about Caruso,
[1:24:24] Speaker 4: you're talking about Dort, you're talking about Shea at 26,
[1:24:27] Speaker 4: you're talking about Harkinstein, that's an older group, right? This
[1:24:33] Speaker 4: team is young. This is a very young team. They
[1:24:37] Speaker 4: play hard. I like them. Listen, they can, because of
[1:24:44] Speaker 4: the lineup that I said I wouldn't have paid Fred.
[1:24:52] Speaker 2: For because I would have put Amen at the point.
[1:24:55] Speaker 2: He would have been my point coming into the season,
[1:24:58] Speaker 2: so I didn't need to pay him. We got him
[1:25:01] Speaker 2: for a good deal, too, for 50, right?
[1:25:03] Speaker 4: Cool, but I didn't need to pay him because I
[1:25:05] Speaker 4: thought that having this young boy that's 6'7, 6'8, 6'9,
[1:25:09] Speaker 4: I don't know how tall, freak of nature, coming downhill,
[1:25:13] Speaker 4: there's no point guard in the league that can stop
[1:25:17] Speaker 4: him from coming in the league. You can post him
[1:25:19] Speaker 4: up and he's at the basket with that ability. He's
[1:25:23] Speaker 4: very dangerous and he's very selfish, right? So I would
[1:25:26] Speaker 4: have put the ball in his hands. Um, now you
[1:25:29] Speaker 4: have damn near everybody else. 6'11 and above makes for
[1:25:33] Speaker 4: a very, very, could be unguardable team.
[1:25:37] Speaker 2: Very tall line. So when you're talking about what they
[1:25:39] Speaker 2: had last night, they had what, KD at the two
[1:25:41] Speaker 2: at one point? They rolled out with Amon 6'7, the KD, Sango. Yeah,
[1:25:46] Speaker 2: they had, yeah, they had, they had KD at the two.
[1:25:48] Speaker 2: He gonna be just like this at least. No, he's
[1:25:52] Speaker 2: just coming down. He can dribble. Who's guarding him? Devin
[1:25:54] Speaker 2: Booker all over again, trying to make somebody a point guard.
[1:25:57] Speaker 2: But he's not Devin Booker. He's not a scorer. Yeah,
[1:25:58] Speaker 2: he's not a scorer. He is a passer. Like Ben Simmons.
[1:26:02] Speaker 4: Yeah, he's literally, he's a passer. Like, he's going to
[1:26:04] Speaker 4: try to get in there and pass the ball. So,
[1:26:05] Speaker 4: you have KD at the two. You got, yes, and Goon.
[1:26:09] Speaker 4: Jabari Smith and I think Steven Adams.
[1:26:11] Speaker 2: Remember? He played point guard? Yeah, he spent point. Yeah.
[1:26:14] Speaker 6: So, this is not his first year, like, trying not
[1:26:17] Speaker 6: to be point guard.
[1:26:18] Speaker 2: Mm-hmm. What happened to Shepard?
[1:26:20] Speaker 4: I'm about to tell you something. They just wasted a
[1:26:22] Speaker 4: third of the game. Yeah, they messed up with that.
[1:26:26] Speaker 4: That was a horrible.
[1:26:27] Speaker 2: They seem to think he's going to step up. No,
[1:26:28] Speaker 2: what I'm saying is that was a shooter.
[1:26:30] Speaker 4: It was a horrible pick by them with everything they had, right?
[1:26:34] Speaker 4: You had that type of guy already that you wasn't playing.
[1:26:37] Speaker 2: What was the other kid, the scrunchie kid that was there?
[1:26:42] Speaker 2: Dylan Brooks? No, no, no. The score, the real score. Cam? Cam.
[1:26:48] Speaker 2: Cam Whitmore?
[1:26:48] Speaker 4: Whitmore, yeah, Whit. Yeah, you're talking about you already have that.
[1:26:51] Speaker 4: You know what I mean? A dude that can just
[1:26:53] Speaker 4: get flat-out buckets. So we'll see how they use him.
[1:26:56] Speaker 4: He'll be a backup, but their lineup is so big.
[1:27:00] Speaker 4: It's going to be crazy. They're going to look like
[1:27:02] Speaker 4: the USA, the China team. Cam Whitmore with the Wizards now.
[1:27:06] Speaker 4: During the Olympics, they're going to look like the China
[1:27:08] Speaker 4: team during the Olympics. Everybody, you know, 6'11 and above
[1:27:10] Speaker 4: on the court. Let's shift to this side. Obviously, Kevin Durant,
[1:27:14] Speaker 4: big pickup.
[1:27:15] Speaker 3: We talked about the Rockets' problem last season, especially in
[1:27:17] Speaker 3: the playoffs, not having a go-to guy. Jalen Green obviously
[1:27:19] Speaker 3: left much to be desired in that first-round series. Strogut
[1:27:23] Speaker 3: at times, I think, had one good game in that series.
[1:27:25] Speaker 3: But how much has KD moved the needle for this
[1:27:28] Speaker 3: Rockets squad in a tough Western Conference this season?
[1:27:32] Speaker 4: In my opinion, he's the only plug-and-play player in the NBA.
[1:27:35] Speaker 4: So you put him in any situation, they're going to
[1:27:38] Speaker 4: have a chance if they already had something in the
[1:27:40] Speaker 4: cupboard already, which Houston did. Alpini Sangoon is going to
[1:27:46] Speaker 4: be the first option. They're going to play through him.
[1:27:51] Speaker 4: Willing passer. So I think keeping that formula and letting
[1:27:56] Speaker 4: KD be who he is, which is that efficient player.
[1:28:01] Speaker 2: Where you can continuously run.
[1:28:04] Speaker 4: Your cuts and have Sangoon make all the plays and
[1:28:07] Speaker 4: pass him, be your leading assist guy, with Fred being out.
[1:28:10] Speaker 4: So I think it doesn't. hurt you, Fred, being out
[1:28:14] Speaker 4: because he's not your primary ball handler. You get a
[1:28:17] Speaker 4: bigger team on the floor. So, yeah, I like Houston's
[1:28:22] Speaker 4: chances with the addition of Kevin Durant, of course. But, no,
[1:28:28] Speaker 4: I like what they did. And KD is going to
[1:28:32] Speaker 4: bring a different energy and winning lens to their locker room,
[1:28:39] Speaker 4: which I think Emile Ndoka can utilize. Having another voice,
[1:28:43] Speaker 4: another veteran voice, another winning voice in their locker room,
[1:28:47] Speaker 4: I think can go a long way.
[1:28:48] Speaker 1: They also obviously have a relationship from their time with
[1:28:50] Speaker 1: the Nets together, so.
[1:28:51] Speaker 2: So what, another thing, so they got Steven Adams and
[1:28:54] Speaker 2: Clint Capella, like. Jeff Green, too.
[1:28:56] Speaker 4: With him coming off the bench. I mean, you remember Sangoon,
[1:29:01] Speaker 4: they had him at the five.
[1:29:03] Speaker 2: Four and five. They got them long four. I mean,
[1:29:06] Speaker 2: their lineup is great.
[1:29:07] Speaker 4: I mean, the possibility of this lineup is just really great.
[1:29:11] Speaker 4: They got Tyree Easton still. They got Jayshon Tate still. Yeah,
[1:29:17] Speaker 4: Easton had 20 last night. Easton, Jabari Smith, Tate off
[1:29:19] Speaker 4: the bench.
[1:29:22] Speaker 2: Yeah, he's a great coach. Shree Shepard off the bench.
[1:29:24] Speaker 2: He's a game I'm glad to play. Clint Capella coming in.
[1:29:28] Speaker 1: Yeah.
[1:29:29] Speaker 2: And Black and Miles.
[1:29:29] Speaker 6: He might be the odd one out. He might be
[1:29:34] Speaker 6: the odd one out. Nah, they'll probably use him when
[1:29:37] Speaker 6: they put Sangoon at the four.
[1:29:38] Speaker 2: When they put Sangoon at the five, they'll put him
[1:29:42] Speaker 2: at the four and they'll have all stretch team. Black
[1:29:45] Speaker 2: and Miles.
[1:29:46] Speaker 4: Like I said, when you're talking about a mobile team,
[1:29:49] Speaker 4: that's a crazy team. You can put the ball in
[1:29:51] Speaker 4: Jayshon Tate's hand too. He make plays. He's a willing passer.
[1:29:56] Speaker 2: Yeah, so... Sean, do you believe in this Rocket Squad?
[1:29:59] Speaker 2: I don't.
[1:30:01] Speaker 1: Now that I'm looking, because they lose Brooks, Green, Whitmore,
[1:30:12] Speaker 1: you're looking at bringing KD in, and I'm thinking that
[1:30:16] Speaker 1: Fred was going to be the one person that was
[1:30:19] Speaker 1: going to allow the action that actually happened in Golden State,
[1:30:23] Speaker 1: which was point guard. KD action. Steph, KD, pick and rolls. Like,
[1:30:28] Speaker 1: how do you guard this? You're going to switch it.
[1:30:30] Speaker 1: Whatever you do, somebody going to hit. Fred can hit
[1:30:34] Speaker 1: this shot. High percentage. Losing him loses that action. So
[1:30:39] Speaker 1: now you got to depend on a bunch of rim runners, slashers.
[1:30:43] Speaker 1: So now the whole game plan changes around that one
[1:30:47] Speaker 1: player being able to change the action on a pick
[1:30:51] Speaker 1: and roll, pick and slip, pick and mismatch.
[1:30:53] Speaker 2: Now you got Amon Thompson. running that with KD.
[1:30:57] Speaker 1: If you don't bring Reed Shepard in and run that,
[1:30:59] Speaker 1: you don't have a viable shooter that's going to be
[1:31:01] Speaker 1: running this action. So now, if we're going through Sangoon,
[1:31:06] Speaker 1: and let's say Sangoon is at the four, Steven Adams
[1:31:09] Speaker 1: at the five, got another big foot motherfucker running around
[1:31:12] Speaker 1: slow in the dunker, just in the way of the
[1:31:15] Speaker 1: rim runners and the slashers. So to me, they got
[1:31:19] Speaker 1: a lot of trying to figure out how to get
[1:31:22] Speaker 1: KD off without fucking up the cohesion of the offense.
[1:31:27] Speaker 1: Whatever that offense looks like at this point because you've
[1:31:30] Speaker 1: had to change the offense if you don't go through
[1:31:32] Speaker 1: Sangoon and your actions aren't to get KD to open shot.
[1:31:36] Speaker 1: So if you're not getting KD to open shot and
[1:31:39] Speaker 1: you don't have a Jalen Green... Or Dylan Brooks that
[1:31:42] Speaker 1: can space the floor and hit these shots.
[1:31:45] Speaker 2: Now, what you got? Inconsistency. Inconsistency. With Jalen Green and
[1:31:50] Speaker 2: Dylan Brooks.
[1:31:50] Speaker 1: But you got it now with the guys that can't
[1:31:52] Speaker 1: give you 20.
[1:31:54] Speaker 2: You can't give you 20 a game. Yeah, you can. Who?
[1:31:56] Speaker 2: All of them. Who's giving you 20 a game? They can.
[1:31:59] Speaker 4: The capability.
[1:32:00] Speaker 1: You know what I'm saying? Where is the capability? What
[1:32:04] Speaker 1: do you mean? Jalen Green, Dylan Brooks were your second
[1:32:07] Speaker 1: and third. Then you have Fred. You ain't beat nobody,
[1:32:10] Speaker 1: Dylan Brooks, your third option. They were number two in
[1:32:13] Speaker 1: the West. What you mean? They were beating people. They
[1:32:17] Speaker 1: were beating people, though. They were number two. But y'all,
[1:32:21] Speaker 1: I get it. No, this is where they... These are facts.
[1:32:26] Speaker 1: This is where they were, though. They were where?
[1:32:29] Speaker 2: They were number two. What's the fact?
[1:32:30] Speaker 1: Is that a fact? Fact number two. So they were
[1:32:34] Speaker 1: doing what they needed to do to be number two.
[1:32:36] Speaker 1: With the formula they had. And inject KD to this
[1:32:40] Speaker 1: formula with a Fred, without a Dylan, without a Jalen.
[1:32:45] Speaker 2: It's like it hurts a lot because now you don't
[1:32:48] Speaker 2: have the options. You don't got the firepower. You're looking
[1:32:51] Speaker 2: at that part of it. That's a good part, right?
[1:32:54] Speaker 2: You're pick and roll.
[1:32:55] Speaker 4: Fred is small and he can shoot, right? The difference
[1:33:00] Speaker 4: is you have a man. Let's say they're playing Golden
[1:33:03] Speaker 4: State again. Who is Steph Gardner?
[1:33:06] Speaker 2: He has to, yeah, we take him to the post. Right?
[1:33:08] Speaker 2: Go to the post. Now you're forced to double.
[1:33:10] Speaker 1: Now that pick and roll again with that guy, if
[1:33:14] Speaker 1: you don't switch it, he's going downhill at the rim.
[1:33:18] Speaker 2: Right? We're going under. We're going under. He is not.
[1:33:22] Speaker 2: That's Westbrook.
[1:33:23] Speaker 1: But we got help. We got help. You're going under. Yeah,
[1:33:27] Speaker 1: he does. You crazy as hell.
[1:33:29] Speaker 2: He will.
[1:33:29] Speaker 1: You're going under. You're going because there was a three
[1:33:33] Speaker 1: on him now. There was a three on him before.
[1:33:35] Speaker 1: Now there's a point guard on him now.
[1:33:37] Speaker 2: Yeah, moving him is a smart move. There was a.
[1:33:39] Speaker 4: Three then he was posting up. Now you're putting a
[1:33:41] Speaker 4: point guard on him, which he's going to post up.
[1:33:43] Speaker 2: The whole time.
[1:33:45] Speaker 1: Now that pick and roll comes. If you switch it,
[1:33:47] Speaker 1: who is the point guard switching on?
[1:33:49] Speaker 2: Kevin Durant. Mm-hmm. It becomes a different pick and roll.
[1:33:54] Speaker 4: I think it would be a mistake to start Steven
[1:33:56] Speaker 4: Adams at the five. I think Sangoon... It's just like anything.
[1:33:58] Speaker 4: You know how they start off... We're going to start
[1:34:00] Speaker 4: off big. You know what I mean? And then they'll
[1:34:02] Speaker 4: switch him out. Play the first six minutes. I get it, man.
[1:34:06] Speaker 4: You can sub him for him. Let him spell. Let
[1:34:08] Speaker 4: him spell Sangoon. Amen had 21, a quick 21 last night.
[1:34:13] Speaker 4: You can't stop him going downhill.
[1:34:14] Speaker 7: I'm rolling with you. See, they finally got that for
[1:34:16] Speaker 7: sure score. Somebody that they can put the ball in
[1:34:18] Speaker 7: their hands and go get them a bucket. Now, if
[1:34:20] Speaker 7: they just stay defensively like they were last year, they're
[1:34:22] Speaker 7: going to be fine.
[1:34:23] Speaker 4: He's like a more athletic Westbrook coming downhill that actually
[1:34:27] Speaker 4: knows how to move Like, he's one of those. So,
[1:34:30] Speaker 4: that pick and roll coming in, if he turns the corner.
[1:34:33] Speaker 2: I mean, you got Sangoon somewhere, you got Jabari somewhere,
[1:34:36] Speaker 2: you got.
[1:34:38] Speaker 4: What's the name, Steven Adams ducked down. Like, it's going
[1:34:42] Speaker 4: to be hard to guard that.
[1:34:44] Speaker 1: If Jabari and Eason can update shooting percentages, it'll be dope.
[1:34:50] Speaker 1: They can update shooting percentages, Eason and Jabari. on that
[1:34:54] Speaker 1: driving kick. I'm still thinking that, like Nick said, if
[1:34:58] Speaker 1: we see that Thompson is going to be doing this
[1:35:02] Speaker 1: mismatchy shit where he's a big guard and we got
[1:35:05] Speaker 1: to adjust to him. Bro, the whole league going to
[1:35:08] Speaker 1: adjust to that. Like, are they playing him at the point?
[1:35:10] Speaker 1: We're going under. He's a big Rondo. He's a big
[1:35:13] Speaker 1: Rayjean Rondo. So we're going to go under this motherfucker.
[1:35:16] Speaker 1: And if you think about comparing him to Westbrook, he's
[1:35:19] Speaker 1: more chaotic, right? Russ was understanding of mid-range. I could
[1:35:25] Speaker 1: come down, ah, and I had that. And then you
[1:35:28] Speaker 1: looking at him. He'll turn it over more, but he's
[1:35:31] Speaker 1: still going to make the right play. He's smart enough
[1:35:32] Speaker 1: to make the right play. But think about it. You
[1:35:34] Speaker 1: got Adams in the dunker. You got Sangoon over here.
[1:35:37] Speaker 1: You don't have the options that you would think.
[1:35:40] Speaker 2: I can't trust him. You're talking about posting up.
[1:35:43] Speaker 6: Yeah, that's changing your offense.
[1:35:47] Speaker 1: But that's changing your offense. Last night, they got the
[1:35:53] Speaker 1: small-ass guards right to the post. You were forced to double. Like,
[1:35:56] Speaker 1: he's too athletic not to be. And then he's just
[1:35:59] Speaker 1: going to jump.
[1:36:00] Speaker 2: He's a dog. He's a rim guy. But this is
[1:36:03] Speaker 2: the second year.
[1:36:03] Speaker 4: And they got a hell of a coach over there, man.
[1:36:05] Speaker 4: That's going to be a successful situation, man. They gonna
[1:36:07] Speaker 4: use they gonna milk. They gonna make you guard them
[1:36:11] Speaker 4: and listen one thing for sure. He's old-school Until you
[1:36:14] Speaker 4: make a decision in a change. He is gonna throw
[1:36:17] Speaker 4: that bitch down every single Keep running it.
[1:36:21] Speaker 1: You don't keep like if you ain't gonna do something
[1:36:23] Speaker 1: I'm gonna.
[1:36:25] Speaker 4: Make you a judge. I'm gonna make you adjust then
[1:36:28] Speaker 4: you still got that's what I'm saying.
[1:36:29] Speaker 2: Not a guarantee Hey, man, Thompson's.
[1:36:33] Speaker 4: Going to have to work for that. He's got to
[1:36:36] Speaker 4: play one-on-one because he can't help on Kevin Durant. Think
[1:36:40] Speaker 4: about everybody who has to guard him at the wing.
[1:36:42] Speaker 4: That means Brunson is going down there. He's putting Brunson
[1:36:46] Speaker 4: in the post. He's putting Garland in the post. He's
[1:36:49] Speaker 4: putting all these guards in the post. You're forced to double. But, nah,
[1:36:52] Speaker 4: we're not doubling that. We're not doubling. Nah, we're letting
[1:36:55] Speaker 4: that go. Play this straight up.
[1:36:58] Speaker 2: Man, we've got to play this straight up. Something is vertical.
[1:37:02] Speaker 1: He went to the free throw line nine times yesterday
[1:37:05] Speaker 1: in 20 minutes.
[1:37:06] Speaker 2: He's going to have a crazy year. 20 minutes. Tap
[1:37:09] Speaker 2: 21 in 20 minutes. Yeah. I know.
[1:37:11] Speaker 1: Nine free throws. That takes away from the ultimate game plan.
[1:37:16] Speaker 2: You know why? This is the game plan over here.
[1:37:19] Speaker 2: If they win, they don't take away from the game plan.
[1:37:22] Speaker 2: And he fouled out. I mean, and he fouled out. Well,
[1:37:24] Speaker 2: you think it'd take away from the game plan? It
[1:37:25] Speaker 2: doesn't because you think it'd take away from the game plan.
[1:37:27] Speaker 2: We're talking about the piece. 130 to 128. 128 to 128. Yeah.
[1:37:32] Speaker 1: I mean, both teams played good, but I see Alvarado
[1:37:34] Speaker 1: didn't back down from that fucking matchup. He wasn't saying,
[1:37:37] Speaker 1: come double this. He's saying, I got this.
[1:37:40] Speaker 2: I got this. He was five for eight, 21 points.
[1:37:45] Speaker 1: But what'd he do? He got kicked out the game? Why?
[1:37:49] Speaker 2: It was a fight, right? We're going to show it
[1:37:52] Speaker 2: in a second.
[1:37:53] Speaker 1: If you look at that situation, all you got to do,
[1:37:55] Speaker 1: because he's erratic.
[1:37:56] Speaker 2: What the hell are you talking about? He's erratic. No,
[1:37:59] Speaker 2: he's not. We're talking about basketball. Yes, we are. So
[1:38:02] Speaker 2: that was a basketball play that he got kicked out on.
[1:38:04] Speaker 2: He didn't get kicked out. He got a flagrant one.
[1:38:06] Speaker 2: He got to stay in the game.
[1:38:08] Speaker 1: I'm looking at the play the play happened and this
[1:38:11] Speaker 1: is a point guard. That's five inches shorter Name another
[1:38:14] Speaker 1: point guard that's as feisty as Colorado And that's on
[1:38:17] Speaker 1: the box out.
[1:38:18] Speaker 2: Colin Sexton on a box. Davion Mitchell. That's on the
[1:38:21] Speaker 2: box out. Colin Sexton. That's on the box out. Davion Mitchell.
[1:38:29] Speaker 4: But that's on the box out. What are you talking about?
[1:38:31] Speaker 4: We're talking about a post up here.
[1:38:33] Speaker 2: Yeah, it's still a little guard. That's a box out.
[1:38:36] Speaker 2: It's still a little guard. That's a box out. That's
[1:38:38] Speaker 2: a box out or a post up. I told you.
[1:38:40] Speaker 2: Come on, Nick. There ain't no point guard going to
[1:38:42] Speaker 2: be scared of a guard. What's the point guard doing?
[1:38:44] Speaker 2: He got to drag him down. There ain't no point
[1:38:45] Speaker 2: guard going to be scared of a guard. Get your
[1:38:47] Speaker 2: ass down. You and your ponytail. You saw you got
[1:38:50] Speaker 2: motherfucking mushed.
[1:38:52] Speaker 3: For what it's worth, both men, they did dap up
[1:38:54] Speaker 3: and hug after the game.
[1:38:56] Speaker 2: Take that challenge.
[1:38:59] Speaker 1: The challenge is he took nine free throws, nine for nine.
[1:39:03] Speaker 2: He had 21.
[1:39:04] Speaker 1: Five for eight. Alvarado did not foul out. How many
[1:39:09] Speaker 1: fouls did Alvarado have?
[1:39:10] Speaker 2: In 20 minutes.
[1:39:11] Speaker 4: Does he start?
[1:39:12] Speaker 2: In 20 minutes. We had Marcus Smart for 20 minutes.
[1:39:13] Speaker 2: Got zero. Marcus Smart. Stop. When you come from the Wizards...
[1:39:24] Speaker 2: That man.
[1:39:25] Speaker 1: Look like baby Jesus over there compared to what we got.
[1:39:28] Speaker 2: Come on, man. He in the city now, man. Let
[1:39:29] Speaker 2: him be. Come on. He in the city now. And
[1:39:32] Speaker 2: this is the first game. You could have took a
[1:39:34] Speaker 2: shot or something. It's the preseason. You could have took
[1:39:36] Speaker 2: a shot or something. Hey, three, two, one, take the
[1:39:39] Speaker 2: shot or something. We ain't out there for 20 minutes.
[1:39:41] Speaker 2: Up and down, man. It's the preseason, boy.
[1:39:43] Speaker 6: You got to know what type of mindset you got
[1:39:46] Speaker 6: to have to not want to shoot in the game.
[1:39:48] Speaker 2: You got to be really crazy. Just to play basketball.
[1:39:52] Speaker 2: Just run it up and down. Up and down. And
[1:39:55] Speaker 2: knock the plate, though. Knock the plate. Just happy. Just happy. Like, just...
[1:40:01] Speaker 2: I don't know how sick you got to be. The
[1:40:03] Speaker 2: Nassus shooting. Oh, my God. The Nassus came down. It's
[1:40:07] Speaker 2: been late. They ain't caught a lot. They ain't caught
[1:40:12] Speaker 2: a lot. We are back, ladies and gentlemen.
[1:40:15] Speaker 1: This is Gil's Arena presented by Underdog Google. I mean,
[1:40:19] Speaker 1: they're going to be a matchup. They're going to be
[1:40:20] Speaker 1: a matchup problem.
[1:40:21] Speaker 2: Like... A matchup problem with an old school coach. Now,
[1:40:25] Speaker 2: that's the thing.
[1:40:25] Speaker 4: It's a matchup problem with an old school coach that
[1:40:27] Speaker 4: comes from matchup problems.
[1:40:28] Speaker 2: They built for the playoffs. They built for the playoffs.
[1:40:30] Speaker 2: There's going to be a bunch of tall people in
[1:40:31] Speaker 2: the way right now. Yeah, they built for the day.
[1:40:33] Speaker 2: Minnesota is going to have problems with them. They did, yeah. Minnesota.
[1:40:37] Speaker 2: They're going to be dangerous in the playoffs.
[1:40:39] Speaker 4: I'm telling you, man. You're going to have to change
[1:40:43] Speaker 4: your lineup so much just to try to play with them.
[1:40:46] Speaker 4: If they make the playoffs.
[1:40:47] Speaker 2: They got Kevin Durant at the shooting guard, bro. They
[1:40:50] Speaker 2: got a full-time scorer. That's all he do is score.
[1:40:52] Speaker 2: At the shooting guard. That means he's ISOing the whole
[1:40:55] Speaker 2: goddamn game. He ain't made the playoff in two years.
[1:40:58] Speaker 3: So we asked the chat, does Kevin Durant make the
[1:41:00] Speaker 3: Rockets legit championship contender? 71% of the chat says yes,
[1:41:04] Speaker 3: that he does. So let's talk a little bit more
[1:41:06] Speaker 3: about KD. So he's winning back-to-back finals, finals MVPs. With
[1:41:10] Speaker 3: the Warriors, KD's failed to replicate that level of success
[1:41:13] Speaker 3: in his last two stops with the Nets and Suns.
[1:41:16] Speaker 3: So a question for the couch. Start with you, Mr. B.
[1:41:19] Speaker 3: How much pressure is on KD in his first season
[1:41:21] Speaker 3: with the Rockets?
[1:41:23] Speaker 7: I mean, I think with KD being a legit superstar,
[1:41:25] Speaker 7: I mean, anywhere he goes is pressure. I think the
[1:41:28] Speaker 7: pressure's always been since when he went to the Warriors
[1:41:30] Speaker 7: and then he took his talents to Brooklyn and then Phoenix.
[1:41:35] Speaker 7: But I think this year, you know, I think he'll
[1:41:37] Speaker 7: just be able to play and just concentrate on basketball
[1:41:39] Speaker 7: because he does have a coach that does like to
[1:41:41] Speaker 7: speak up for his players. And, you know, so I think,
[1:41:45] Speaker 7: you know, with that aspect and then coming to a
[1:41:46] Speaker 7: team that was number two last year, you know, like
[1:41:50] Speaker 7: Kenyon said, he's just a fit-in plug. So anywhere he goes,
[1:41:53] Speaker 7: he just fits right in. So I think he'll be fine.
[1:41:56] Speaker 7: I think he'll be good this year.
[1:41:58] Speaker 1: Kane, does KD have any pressure on him with this
[1:42:00] Speaker 1: Rocket squad based on how his career has panned out
[1:42:03] Speaker 1: in the post-Warriors era?
[1:42:06] Speaker 4: Pressure, yeah, he's going to win, man. I don't know
[1:42:08] Speaker 4: if there's added pressure that has already been there. So
[1:42:15] Speaker 4: you used a word that I was reading your little
[1:42:17] Speaker 4: teleprompter thingy.
[1:42:19] Speaker 2: They's not supposed to know that, Kane. It's supposed to
[1:42:20] Speaker 2: be off the dump. You know you got a teleprompter.
[1:42:22] Speaker 2: I read it at the eighth grade level.
[1:42:28] Speaker 6: You ain't gonna go from using your computer all for
[1:42:30] Speaker 6: three seasons to.
[1:42:31] Speaker 2: Looking right in the camera.
[1:42:32] Speaker 1: Haters, as usual, ladies and gentlemen, do not believe them.
[1:42:36] Speaker 2: This is all in the dump.
[1:42:37] Speaker 4: So he has failed to replicate, right? So you say
[1:42:40] Speaker 4: he has failed to replicate his.
[1:42:41] Speaker 2: I mean, there was... My thing is....
[1:42:45] Speaker 4: Why the situation hadn't failed KD.
[1:42:48] Speaker 2: That's fair. Because he has.
[1:42:53] Speaker 1: Been a staple that's been consistent in the net stop, right?
[1:43:00] Speaker 4: Phoenix stop. He's been the staple of that. I think
[1:43:03] Speaker 4: the situations have failed him to help him replicate his
[1:43:07] Speaker 4: success that he's had. Because he's not going nowhere thinking,
[1:43:11] Speaker 4: I'm trying to go win. I'm trying to do what
[1:43:12] Speaker 4: I did over there. Because I know how to win now.
[1:43:15] Speaker 4: I'm trying to go take these winning ways over here,
[1:43:17] Speaker 4: and I'm still me. I'm still showing up. I'm still
[1:43:19] Speaker 4: one of, if not the best five players in the NBA.
[1:43:23] Speaker 4: So I think the situations have failed him, and he's
[1:43:26] Speaker 4: always showing up ready to go, ready to do his part.
[1:43:30] Speaker 4: I think the pieces and everything, the circumstances, injuries, COVID, this, that,
[1:43:36] Speaker 4: everything has gotten in the way of that. So he
[1:43:39] Speaker 4: has been that. So the pressure has always, it ain't
[1:43:42] Speaker 4: changed for him, because he's always risen to the occasion.
[1:43:46] Speaker 4: No matter what the pressures are, KD shows up.
[1:43:48] Speaker 2: He does his job.
[1:43:49] Speaker 4: He shows up every single time. Everybody else can't say that.
[1:43:53] Speaker 2: Cemetery Larry. I'll take karma.
[1:43:59] Speaker 1: I think that the karma from the ultimate decision to
[1:44:06] Speaker 1: leave Russ and them boys go up there to Golden State.
[1:44:11] Speaker 1: Ever since he won them two championships, there has been
[1:44:14] Speaker 1: some type of injury that stopped his momentum. When it
[1:44:19] Speaker 1: comes down to Brooklyn, there was an injury. Comes down
[1:44:22] Speaker 1: to Phoenix, there was injuries. Now, as soon as he
[1:44:25] Speaker 1: get there to Houston, first thing happen, injury. All detrimental pieces, too.
[1:44:31] Speaker 1: These are not just a couple good dudes on the roster.
[1:44:35] Speaker 1: He like, how he said, man, who I'm throwing it to,
[1:44:37] Speaker 1: Dorian Finney-Smith? So when you look at everything from the
[1:44:43] Speaker 1: Golden State back to back, the pieces that he needed
[1:44:47] Speaker 1: to duplicate that championship swag, that championship environment has been
[1:44:51] Speaker 1: pieces that have went down. It's like, damn, if we
[1:44:54] Speaker 1: don't lose this piece, we there.
[1:44:57] Speaker 2: If I don't have my foot on the line, we there.
[1:45:01] Speaker 1: If Bill can get on the same page and Bill
[1:45:04] Speaker 1: can stay healthy, we there. So The pressure is extremely
[1:45:10] Speaker 1: high for him here. Extremely high. And there ain't no
[1:45:15] Speaker 1: more excuses to why you can't get it done. Because
[1:45:19] Speaker 1: this team was number two. So they've already proven the
[1:45:22] Speaker 1: whole swag to get them there. They already had less
[1:45:25] Speaker 1: pieces and less... No All-Stars. I don't think no All-Stars
[1:45:29] Speaker 1: on that team. So you got a Hall of Famer
[1:45:32] Speaker 1: coming in. Changu, an All-Star last year.
[1:45:34] Speaker 2: He was an All-Star. Okay. So you got.
[1:45:37] Speaker 1: Hall of Famer coming in with pedigree, championship swag, the
[1:45:40] Speaker 1: whole nine.
[1:45:40] Speaker 2: He got pressure on him.
[1:45:41] Speaker 3: So basically, you shifted Jalen Green, Dylan Brooks, and replaced
[1:45:44] Speaker 3: them with Kevin Durant.
[1:45:46] Speaker 2: Yo, so if they get past the first round this year,
[1:45:48] Speaker 2: is that good? Is that enough to call it a
[1:45:52] Speaker 2: successful season, you think? Yeah. Better than it was last year. Yeah, right?
[1:45:55] Speaker 2: They didn't get out the first round last year? No,
[1:45:57] Speaker 2: they lost to the Warriors. But, no, I think KD
[1:46:00] Speaker 2: got a win. He has to win a ring?
[1:46:03] Speaker 6: I think so, after the Warriors. Because every time you
[1:46:06] Speaker 6: bring it up, it's like Steph won one after. Every
[1:46:09] Speaker 6: time you try to do that debate where people at
[1:46:12] Speaker 6: just for that reason, I feel like there's pressure.
[1:46:15] Speaker 2: On him to try to win.
[1:46:16] Speaker 6: One because he haven't got it done after the Warriors.
[1:46:21] Speaker 2: Not from lack of effort. But what if they just
[1:46:24] Speaker 2: have a good season and they get out the second?
[1:46:26] Speaker 6: You can't keep leaving team for team just to have
[1:46:28] Speaker 6: a good season.
[1:46:29] Speaker 2: Yeah.
[1:46:30] Speaker 6: For me, I can't keep trading, getting traded just to
[1:46:33] Speaker 6: have a good season. Because I could have had a
[1:46:34] Speaker 6: good season. I feel like everywhere he goes, he's going
[1:46:38] Speaker 6: to win.
[1:46:39] Speaker 4: Yeah, that's his goal. So he is showing up. That's
[1:46:42] Speaker 4: what I'm saying.
[1:46:43] Speaker 2: Has he not?
[1:46:44] Speaker 4: He's shown up.
[1:46:45] Speaker 2: But he didn't go to state. Has he not done
[1:46:47] Speaker 2: it everywhere else? Because he's been averaging 27, 28. He's
[1:46:52] Speaker 2: averaged 28 on 50%, 45, and 88 from the.
[1:46:54] Speaker 1: We're talking about numbers instead of impact. Because the impact...
[1:46:58] Speaker 1: The impact... It's the same numbers. It's the same numbers.
[1:47:01] Speaker 2: The impact he had.
[1:47:02] Speaker 1: The impact that he had in the Golden State Warriors
[1:47:06] Speaker 1: was insane.
[1:47:07] Speaker 2: No. The impact... The Golden State impact on him was insane.
[1:47:10] Speaker 2: What he did for that team... Goddamn, y'all talking about...
[1:47:13] Speaker 2: What he did for that team... Acting like.
[1:47:15] Speaker 1: When he was with Golden State, he did not have
[1:47:18] Speaker 1: Stephen Curry, who was arguing to be the number one
[1:47:22] Speaker 1: point guard ever.
[1:47:23] Speaker 2: That was his running mate, right? Then you have Klay Thompson.
[1:47:28] Speaker 1: Now, you're telling me everywhere he's went, he's had this crew, and.
[1:47:31] Speaker 2: Y'all saying they failed doing that? No, he has not
[1:47:33] Speaker 2: had that. He tore his Achilles, though. He got hurt.
[1:47:38] Speaker 2: We're not comparing because Steph still got his proof. You
[1:47:41] Speaker 2: had it. Steph was winning.
[1:47:42] Speaker 1: Steph won the championship before him, right?
[1:47:46] Speaker 2: He has bounced back. Did Steph win the championship before KD? Yes.
[1:47:49] Speaker 2: That means he had.
[1:47:51] Speaker 1: A championship resume and ingredients. You added Kevin Durant. They
[1:47:56] Speaker 1: won two of them joints with Kevin Durant. Then Kevin
[1:48:00] Speaker 1: Durant left. They didn't have a championship group. We're Kevin Durant.
[1:48:05] Speaker 1: This group is still a championship ingredients. When he went
[1:48:08] Speaker 1: to Phoenix, that's not a championship ingredients.
[1:48:12] Speaker 2: KD didn't have a championship team? No. With Brooklyn? No.
[1:48:17] Speaker 2: They played together with 13 games? Steve Nash was their coach.
[1:48:20] Speaker 1: They played 13 games.
[1:48:22] Speaker 2: Please tell him again.
[1:48:25] Speaker 1: Please tell him again.
[1:48:28] Speaker 2: Y'all making excuses. Y'all making excuses. Y'all making excuses. He
[1:48:32] Speaker 2: got hurt.
[1:48:33] Speaker 1: When he got hurt in Golden State, instead of you
[1:48:36] Speaker 1: saying he left, it was he got hurt. When he
[1:48:39] Speaker 1: got hurt, he was not the same player. The impact,
[1:48:42] Speaker 1: the explosiveness, all the shit that KD brought. Now, he
[1:48:45] Speaker 1: can give you the same numbers. We're not talking about numbers.
[1:48:47] Speaker 1: I'm not talking about numbers. I'm talking about who Kevin
[1:48:50] Speaker 1: Durant was when he got to Golden State and helped
[1:48:53] Speaker 1: them win two back.
[1:48:54] Speaker 2: If you go back to look at those.
[1:48:56] Speaker 1: Highlights, how he was, he was a different player.
[1:49:00] Speaker 2: But look at the team he was with, though. He
[1:49:02] Speaker 2: was with a championship team.
[1:49:03] Speaker 1: I'm talking about the injury changed him. The only thing
[1:49:08] Speaker 1: changed right now is he's serviceable because he's an elite scorer.
[1:49:12] Speaker 2: He's an elite, consistent scorer.
[1:49:15] Speaker 1: Nothing's going to change about him going to get 27,
[1:49:18] Speaker 1: 28 a game because he knows how to do it.
[1:49:20] Speaker 1: He can shoot his ass off. He's not as athletic.
[1:49:23] Speaker 1: He don't move the same. It's the same. When you
[1:49:26] Speaker 1: look at Boston play against.
[1:49:28] Speaker 4: Did you just use Servo Sabo and Kevin Durant in
[1:49:32] Speaker 4: the same class?
[1:49:33] Speaker 2: He know what I'm saying, too. He know what I'm saying, too.
[1:49:36] Speaker 2: He know what I'm saying. He just want to be
[1:49:38] Speaker 2: on the other side. He know exactly what I'm saying.
[1:49:41] Speaker 2: The 28 ain't been sexy. Ain't that sexy? Because he
[1:49:44] Speaker 2: got towards the kill. Off his injury.
[1:49:47] Speaker 1: Off his injury. That's what he's saying. The numbers are
[1:49:51] Speaker 1: going to be consistent.
[1:49:54] Speaker 2: He averaged 27, 7 and 5. Played 35 games.
[1:49:56] Speaker 1: What about the other players he went there with? Did
[1:49:58] Speaker 1: they show up?
[1:49:59] Speaker 2: No.
[1:50:00] Speaker 1: Then the next year, he averaged 30. He averaged 30,
[1:50:02] Speaker 1: 7 and 7. Y'all are forgetting.
[1:50:07] Speaker 2: He only played with this group.
[1:50:10] Speaker 1: That was supposed to win the championship about 13 games.
[1:50:13] Speaker 2: They played 16 games together. 16 games together. If he
[1:50:16] Speaker 2: played only 16.
[1:50:18] Speaker 1: Games with Curry and Klay, they not winning two championships.
[1:50:24] Speaker 1: So how can you say he failed over there because
[1:50:28] Speaker 1: they all got hurt and they wasn't playing together? Because
[1:50:31] Speaker 1: we know for sure that when they got hurt in
[1:50:33] Speaker 1: the championship, they lost. When he went down, they lost.
[1:50:40] Speaker 1: They lost when he went down against Toronto.
[1:50:45] Speaker 2: They were so happy the goddamn.
[1:50:46] Speaker 1: Arena cheered that he wasn't there. I remember. And they
[1:50:51] Speaker 1: didn't win.
[1:50:52] Speaker 2: So you're saying, I'm leaving.
[1:50:53] Speaker 1: I'm going to team up with these two because I
[1:50:55] Speaker 1: know I can win with them. And we only play
[1:50:57] Speaker 1: in our two years. 16 games together. How are we
[1:51:00] Speaker 1: supposed to win a championship?
[1:51:01] Speaker 2: But look, you actually had a chance. You had a chance, though.
[1:51:04] Speaker 2: You know what I mean? What happened? The foot. What?
[1:51:07] Speaker 2: What was it? The foot on the line.
[1:51:09] Speaker 1: What stopped me from getting there?
[1:51:10] Speaker 2: The foot on the line. It wasn't the other two guys.
[1:51:12] Speaker 2: To get to the next round. It stopped me from
[1:51:14] Speaker 2: getting to the next round.
[1:51:15] Speaker 1: And if we get to the next round. If we
[1:51:17] Speaker 1: get to the next round.
[1:51:18] Speaker 2: If. So we're all using ifs in this whole conversation. No,
[1:51:20] Speaker 2: we're not using ifs. 16 games is 16 games. We're
[1:51:22] Speaker 2: all using ifs. No, 16 games is a fact. These
[1:51:25] Speaker 2: are facts. That's a fact.
[1:51:27] Speaker 1: So you just said if he played on the Golden
[1:51:30] Speaker 1: State Warriors, you know guys they were only 16 So
[1:51:34] Speaker 1: that's that if right? No, that's that's it.
[1:51:36] Speaker 2: Yes His foot was on the line and he got
[1:51:40] Speaker 2: him there. Mm-hmm. What's up two guys with him? No,
[1:51:42] Speaker 2: they weren't I So who did he go in with?
[1:51:50] Speaker 1: So it means that he could get there without them guys.
[1:51:53] Speaker 1: Now look, take.
[1:51:55] Speaker 2: Your foot back a little bit.
[1:51:57] Speaker 1: Hey, bring your foot back a little bit.
[1:51:58] Speaker 2: And we there. Get to where? And we're to the championship.
[1:52:01] Speaker 2: We're in the championship. That's not the championship game. That's
[1:52:04] Speaker 2: the next round. We're getting to the championship. That's the
[1:52:07] Speaker 2: next round. We'll get there. That was against Milwaukee. Right?
[1:52:11] Speaker 2: We beat them. We go play the Phoenix Suns. No. Wrong.
[1:52:15] Speaker 2: You go play the Hawks. The Hawks. Yeah, the Hawks.
[1:52:17] Speaker 2: But we beat the Hawks. Come on, bro. What are
[1:52:19] Speaker 2: we talking about? What are we talking about? You thought
[1:52:22] Speaker 2: it was straight to the championship. It don't matter. It's
[1:52:24] Speaker 2: still a cakewalk. You thought it was straight to the cakewalk.
[1:52:27] Speaker 2: It's still a cakewalk, right?
[1:52:29] Speaker 1: I'm talking about, if we're talking about ifs, y'all want
[1:52:32] Speaker 1: to lead with the hypothetical.
[1:52:34] Speaker 2: Why can't I? Why can't I? There's a fact. There's
[1:52:35] Speaker 2: a fact. There's a fact. There's a fact. There's a fact.
[1:52:44] Speaker 2: If no, we know what the facts are, right? I'm
[1:52:46] Speaker 2: just saying Steve Nash was his coach. The facts are
[1:52:49] Speaker 2: that Steve Nash was his coach. The two guys he
[1:52:52] Speaker 2: went up with to go play with was fucking MIA,
[1:52:55] Speaker 2: not there.
[1:52:57] Speaker 4: So these are facts. He has done him. He has
[1:53:00] Speaker 4: shown up authentically, shown up in his craft, shown up
[1:53:03] Speaker 4: and did what he was supposed to do pre-Achilles, post-Achilles.
[1:53:09] Speaker 2: I agree with that. I agree with that.
[1:53:11] Speaker 1: At what point do we lose as a team, but
[1:53:13] Speaker 1: it don't count to you as a player because you're
[1:53:16] Speaker 1: doing your part. If we all lose as a team,
[1:53:18] Speaker 1: we don't win. And we get halfway there... At what
[1:53:23] Speaker 1: point is it okay for you to just do your job?
[1:53:27] Speaker 2: I don't like the concept of us.
[1:53:30] Speaker 1: If we're supposed to win at five and four of
[1:53:33] Speaker 1: y'all are gone and I'm out here playing, doing my thing,
[1:53:36] Speaker 1: y'all blame me for why we lost.
[1:53:38] Speaker 2: Not the niggas that are sitting on the couch. Next
[1:53:41] Speaker 2: man up. I don't get it. The next man up
[1:53:45] Speaker 2: is a whole bunch of who?
[1:53:48] Speaker 1: If Luka go down right now, if Luka go down
[1:53:53] Speaker 1: right now and Austin Reeves go down right now and we.
[1:53:56] Speaker 2: Blaming Ayton because we ain't making sure the playoffs. We
[1:53:59] Speaker 2: got six more years after that year, right? Or five more.
[1:54:08] Speaker 2: years after that. After that season, we talking about James
[1:54:11] Speaker 2: and him. No, James left. I know. What happened after
[1:54:15] Speaker 2: he was two? He played with Devin Booker. He played with... No,
[1:54:18] Speaker 2: they didn't play together. Who?
[1:54:20] Speaker 4: They didn't play together.
[1:54:21] Speaker 2: Nick, they didn't play together. No, he didn't win with
[1:54:23] Speaker 2: Andrew Wiggins. No, he did not win with Andrew Wiggins.
[1:54:30] Speaker 2: The original group that won a championship and They added KD. One, two.
[1:54:59] Speaker 2: He left. They added Wiggins and Poole. They won. The
[1:55:04] Speaker 2: same group is still there, though. They didn't change. Yeah,
[1:55:07] Speaker 2: they just took out one. They just took. These is here.
[1:55:11] Speaker 2: Add in. Let me put my. Let me put the
[1:55:13] Speaker 2: team on the window. Let me put the team on
[1:55:15] Speaker 2: the window.
[1:55:16] Speaker 1: If he didn't play the 16 games with these guys,
[1:55:18] Speaker 1: they wouldn't have won.
[1:55:19] Speaker 2: Y'all just use that hypothetical. If KD only played 16
[1:55:23] Speaker 2: games with this regular core. We moved to the regular core.
[1:55:27] Speaker 1: They would have never won, but then they go pool
[1:55:30] Speaker 1: and win.
[1:55:31] Speaker 2: The original crew. How the fuck does that make sense
[1:55:35] Speaker 2: to you?
[1:55:35] Speaker 1: So you said the original crew before KD won.
[1:55:39] Speaker 2: They won, right?
[1:55:39] Speaker 1: Then y'all said if KD only played 16 games with
[1:55:41] Speaker 1: the original crew, they would not have.
[1:55:49] Speaker 2: One the championship because it has just been Katie.
[1:55:51] Speaker 1: So, uh-huh after Katie Lee Uh-huh they bring in Jordan
[1:55:55] Speaker 1: pool and Wiggins and.
[1:55:57] Speaker 2: Win and play with the same original.
[1:55:59] Speaker 1: Crew and win with you if you was trying to
[1:56:02] Speaker 1: make These two guys.
[1:56:05] Speaker 2: Better than Kevin the the the thing is are they
[1:56:09] Speaker 2: less or more wages and pool came less and play 16.
[1:56:12] Speaker 1: Game less in one and Then you will be making
[1:56:15] Speaker 1: but that's a if right.
[1:56:17] Speaker 4: So let's talk about the facts here the facts that
[1:56:19] Speaker 4: he only played games with Kyrie Irving and James Harden together.
[1:56:24] Speaker 2: These are facts.
[1:56:25] Speaker 4: They did not win since we're going to move on
[1:56:27] Speaker 4: from the hypothetical. Let's speak facts here, but the facts
[1:56:31] Speaker 4: are the facts are that he has remained him pre
[1:56:35] Speaker 4: post Achilles.
[1:56:36] Speaker 2: He's shown up. He can't help the fact.
[1:56:39] Speaker 1: That he went to Phoenix and Bradley Bill and that
[1:56:42] Speaker 1: didn't work out.
[1:56:43] Speaker 2: That's not on him. The fact that they know him. No.
[1:56:47] Speaker 2: All right.
[1:56:47] Speaker 1: So it's his fault that Bradley Bill gets hurt. Is
[1:56:50] Speaker 1: this fault that Bradley Bill gets hurt? Is this fault
[1:56:54] Speaker 1: that Bradley Bill gets hurt? That's the main piece that
[1:56:58] Speaker 1: it is. It's his fault that he gets hurt. It's
[1:57:00] Speaker 1: his fault that Devin Booker's coming in and out.
[1:57:02] Speaker 2: That's his fault. Is it his fault that the whole
[1:57:06] Speaker 2: COVID thing happened when they went to book? So that's
[1:57:08] Speaker 2: his fault. You know that they suspended Kyrie. That's his fault?
[1:57:12] Speaker 2: James Harden, is that his fault? That's crazy. I'm asking.
[1:57:16] Speaker 2: I'm just saying, bro. These are questions. Are those situations
[1:57:20] Speaker 2: Kevin Durant's fault? No. Well, yes. At what point is
[1:57:24] Speaker 2: it his fault? Yeah, when do it become Kevin Durant's fault? Wait, wait,
[1:57:27] Speaker 2: hold on. Wait, hold on, wait, hold on. Is KD's
[1:57:30] Speaker 2: fault because of their personal issues? Is this person's issue? Wait, wait, wait.
[1:57:34] Speaker 2: Is KD's fault because of their personal issues? No, it's not.
[1:57:37] Speaker 1: It was just saying at what point is it his fault?
[1:57:40] Speaker 2: I mean, listen, KD always say, I'm just here to hoop, man.
[1:57:47] Speaker 2: So how's that?
[1:57:50] Speaker 1: When they lost the championship, when he got hurt and
[1:57:55] Speaker 1: they cheered, what did the media say?
[1:57:58] Speaker 2: Did they blame him for not winning the championship? I
[1:58:02] Speaker 2: don't remember. Yeah, of course not. I know they didn't
[1:58:07] Speaker 2: blame Curry. Mm-hmm. about it. There's our shit. How they
[1:58:11] Speaker 2: gonna win not Kirby playing y'all.
[1:58:13] Speaker 1: He's still playing They gave him leeway because.
[1:58:16] Speaker 2: Obviously there's one person one person or clay. I heard too.
[1:58:20] Speaker 2: I heard did they care about clay? Yes. No Everybody
[1:58:23] Speaker 2: knew I mean.
[1:58:26] Speaker 9: When they got hurt every play when Katie when Katie
[1:58:30] Speaker 9: was gone everybody But nobody blamed nobody blamed curry because
[1:58:34] Speaker 9: they didn't win a championship because we recognized that Oh,
[1:58:38] Speaker 9: my God, it's going to be hard to win a
[1:58:39] Speaker 9: championship if two of your stars is gone.
[1:58:44] Speaker 2: Makes fucking sense here. Who gets the blame for LeBron
[1:58:46] Speaker 2: not winning the championship the last five years? Society. LeBron.
[1:58:50] Speaker 1: Does LeBron get the blame? LeBron at 40? I'm not
[1:58:54] Speaker 1: talking about at 40. He wasn't 40 five years ago.
[1:58:56] Speaker 1: Five years ago when we won the championship? Five years ago,
[1:58:59] Speaker 1: we won a championship. I know. Five years ago, we
[1:59:03] Speaker 1: won a championship.
[1:59:04] Speaker 2: After the championship. After the championship. Before that, too. Before that, too.
[1:59:11] Speaker 2: Before that, too. Who gets the blame? Who gets the blame?
[1:59:15] Speaker 2: LeBron has gotten the blame. No, no, no. Because y'all
[1:59:18] Speaker 2: want to blame LeBron. No, he gets the blame. No.
[1:59:21] Speaker 2: The reason. Wait, hold on.
[1:59:23] Speaker 8: Hold on.
[1:59:24] Speaker 2: Hold on.
[1:59:25] Speaker 4: The sweep against San Antonio.
[1:59:27] Speaker 2: Your fault. Your fault. It's all right. It's all right.
[1:59:31] Speaker 2: So we win the championship.
[1:59:34] Speaker 1: We win the championship, and we don't bring back our
[1:59:37] Speaker 1: championship team.
[1:59:39] Speaker 2: That's LeBron's fault? Ultimately. We don't bring back all those teams?
[1:59:42] Speaker 1: No.
[1:59:43] Speaker 2: I'm saying no, but. I'm saying no, but. Okay. LeBron,
[1:59:45] Speaker 2: that biggest team. So we don't bring back all those teams.
[1:59:52] Speaker 2: I'm saying no. It's Giannis' fault. It's Giannis' fault. It's Giannis' fault.
[1:59:58] Speaker 2: But it's yes. Yes. It's Giannis' fault in Milwaukee. It's
[2:00:02] Speaker 2: not his fault, but it is his fault.
[2:00:03] Speaker 1: We can't blame the owner and the goddamn general manager
[2:00:05] Speaker 1: for getting rid of him.
[2:00:06] Speaker 2: You know, LeBron can have whoever he wants. God damn.
[2:00:15] Speaker 2: Let's keep this thing moving. Hey, Denver, who's father was
[2:00:20] Speaker 2: the winner last year? I know one person they're not
[2:00:23] Speaker 2: going to blame. They're not blaming no Yolkish for no losses.
[2:00:27] Speaker 2: They're not even going to look that way. They blame
[2:00:29] Speaker 2: everybody but Mike Porter Jr.
[2:00:31] Speaker 1: Folks.
[2:00:31] Speaker 2: Mike Porter Jr. folks. Hey, how many... Damn, Russell Westbrook
[2:00:41] Speaker 2: played three minutes. It's his fault. He should have made
[2:00:43] Speaker 2: that goddamn layup, boy. That's crazy. Well, Gil, speaking of
[2:00:46] Speaker 2: Russell Westbrook, speaking of Russell Westbrook.
[2:00:48] Speaker 3: We got some breaking news to report. So according to Shams...
[2:00:53] Speaker 3: Westbrook has agreed to a deal with the Sacramento Kings to.
[2:00:57] Speaker 2: Come back to the NBA for his 18th NBA season.
[2:00:59] Speaker 2: Every time, man. Good retirement, baby. Last season. He back.
[2:01:06] Speaker 2: He back and gone. 600 points. That's all we need.
[2:01:10] Speaker 2: So after opting.
[2:01:12] Speaker 1: Out of the final year of his contract with the
[2:01:14] Speaker 1: Nuggets to become a free agent this offseason, there was
[2:01:16] Speaker 1: no immediate market for Westbrook's services. But according to Sean's report,
[2:01:19] Speaker 1: Westbrook's agent and the Kings maintained communication all offseason. And
[2:01:23] Speaker 1: now the nine-time All-Star former MVP has found a home
[2:01:26] Speaker 1: in Sacramento where he'll join a Kings roster that includes
[2:01:29] Speaker 1: DeMontis Sabonis, DeMar DeRozan, Zach Levine, and 2025 Eurobasket MVP
[2:01:33] Speaker 1: Dennis Schroeder under head coach Doug Christie.
[2:01:36] Speaker 2: What y'all said here? Come on, man. It's Sacramento.
[2:01:40] Speaker 1: They got seven chilies in the metropolitan area.
[2:01:43] Speaker 2: They see the Sacramento, it's over. Seven chilies, Brandon. Go
[2:01:47] Speaker 2: play bingo. And this ain't me, Zach. Barbecue sauce. We
[2:01:53] Speaker 2: are fans of Sacramento. Bingo. Go milk a cow. I mean, listen, listen.
[2:01:57] Speaker 4: I'm going to go out on a limb and say
[2:01:59] Speaker 4: Sacramento make the playoffs.
[2:02:00] Speaker 2: Okay, there we go. There we go. We love Sacramento.
[2:02:04] Speaker 2: We don't care. Who knows? Now, now, now. I'm just
[2:02:07] Speaker 2: talking about the city.
[2:02:08] Speaker 1: I'm just talking about the city. Now, let's do some
[2:02:10] Speaker 1: media shit. Steven Chiles.
[2:02:13] Speaker 2: Remember, he just got put on his team. Yes. If
[2:02:16] Speaker 2: they don't make the playoffs. It's his fault. Who they blame? Russ. Absolutely.
[2:02:20] Speaker 2: It's Russ' fault. Russ messed up the chemistry. Yes, absolutely.
[2:02:23] Speaker 2: On God, they're going to find a way. Absolutely, they're
[2:02:25] Speaker 2: going to blame my man. Not for real. Swear to God. Yes,
[2:02:27] Speaker 2: they will. My man, they're going to blame my man. Absolutely.
[2:02:29] Speaker 2: That's why.
[2:02:29] Speaker 1: Okay, well, what does Russ mean to that team as
[2:02:33] Speaker 1: far as resume is concerned?
[2:02:34] Speaker 2: Zach just going to drift off. Resume and pedigree, Russ
[2:02:37] Speaker 2: is up here, top tier, right? Yeah.
[2:02:40] Speaker 4: He has the best resume. He does get the blame.
[2:02:42] Speaker 4: He always gets the blame. He does.
[2:02:46] Speaker 2: He is.
[2:02:46] Speaker 1: Anybody else with that type of resume come on any
[2:02:49] Speaker 1: team and y'all don't make it, then guess who's blaming it?
[2:02:51] Speaker 2: They blame Melo. Don't blame, man. They blame when.
[2:02:54] Speaker 4: They show up and they don't play well. They put
[2:02:55] Speaker 4: all the blame on them motherfuckers. Told you they shouldn't
[2:02:58] Speaker 4: have brought him here. Russ had a solid season with
[2:03:00] Speaker 4: the Nuggets. Obviously, last season we talked about Jokic. Wanted
[2:03:03] Speaker 4: to wrestle the squad. Played well in the games he started.
[2:03:06] Speaker 4: Gave him the Westbrook experience during the playoffs. What he's
[2:03:09] Speaker 4: going to bring is he's going to bring in, we're
[2:03:11] Speaker 4: going to come to practice, we're going to play, we're
[2:03:13] Speaker 4: going to study, we're going to try to get better.
[2:03:15] Speaker 4: He's going to bring what he brings. Are they going
[2:03:20] Speaker 4: to be willing to accept it? That's the key.
[2:03:25] Speaker 2: NBA is weird.
[2:03:27] Speaker 4: Sometimes if there's too many lazy people on the team,
[2:03:33] Speaker 4: The person who works the hardest is not liked.
[2:03:37] Speaker 2: He is the bad locker room guy. The guy who.
[2:03:40] Speaker 4: Demands everybody to stand and work, he becomes the bad
[2:03:44] Speaker 4: locker room guy.
[2:03:45] Speaker 9: Right?
[2:03:45] Speaker 4: So if he goes on a team where everybody is
[2:03:48] Speaker 4: trying to win, everybody.
[2:03:49] Speaker 2: Wants to work, then he's accepted. Right? It's just like
[2:03:52] Speaker 2: Jimmy Butler.
[2:03:53] Speaker 1: Bad locker room guy, and then he goes to Miami,
[2:03:56] Speaker 1: and then he's damn near God until, you know, him and.
[2:03:59] Speaker 2: You know, what's his name, getting their beef, and then,
[2:04:02] Speaker 2: you know. That's true. Now he's a great locker room
[2:04:05] Speaker 2: guy in Golden State. Does Russ start? I was just
[2:04:08] Speaker 2: about to ask that. Top 75?
[2:04:09] Speaker 4: Because they put Malik Mugg at the point.
[2:04:13] Speaker 2: They might put him back. Yeah, they might put him back.
[2:04:15] Speaker 4: He's a better six-man.
[2:04:17] Speaker 2: Malik Mugg is a better six-man. No, no, you got Schroeder.
[2:04:20] Speaker 2: You got Schroeder. Schroeder starts. Russ comes off the bench,
[2:04:24] Speaker 2: but he's going to be a powerful guy off the bench.
[2:04:26] Speaker 2: That's a tall-ass boy. It is, but listen. Ooh, that's
[2:04:30] Speaker 2: a tall ass, man. You want me to play behind Dennis?
[2:04:32] Speaker 2: How much did you get? I'm top 75. I'll walk
[2:04:34] Speaker 2: in every day with my jacket.
[2:04:36] Speaker 1: You're up against the MVP in 2025.
[2:04:39] Speaker 2: You've been playing.
[2:04:41] Speaker 1: Behind other guys already. That's like when Chuck went to Memphis.
[2:04:44] Speaker 1: You want me to play behind Mike Collins?
[2:04:46] Speaker 2: You can't even come in here like that because, boy,
[2:04:48] Speaker 2: you won. You barely got in.
[2:04:50] Speaker 1: Let's get rid of all of that, though.
[2:04:52] Speaker 2: They've been talking all summer, though. Let's say this. Look
[2:04:55] Speaker 2: at the team.
[2:04:55] Speaker 1: They got the Rosen Levine to Egan. Murgy Keegan Murray
[2:05:00] Speaker 1: Malik Monk Devin Carter like a sleeper is Devin Carter
[2:05:04] Speaker 1: point guard cold. He one of the guys is going
[2:05:06] Speaker 1: to come off the bench with Russ. You talking about
[2:05:09] Speaker 1: Malik Monk coming off the bench the second squad for
[2:05:13] Speaker 1: the sack Kings don't look good and you talk about
[2:05:15] Speaker 1: pushing the pace, right?
[2:05:16] Speaker 2: I'm talking about pushing the pace. I think Dennis.
[2:05:19] Speaker 1: Roeder is an offensive setter for Sabonis Levine and DeMar.
[2:05:27] Speaker 1: Getting them involved. Getting them involved. He knows how to
[2:05:30] Speaker 1: do it. He wants to score, though.
[2:05:33] Speaker 2: No, he doesn't.
[2:05:34] Speaker 4: But they played through Sabonis.
[2:05:36] Speaker 1: But Schroeder's smarter enough to be able to go get
[2:05:39] Speaker 1: those other guys open.
[2:05:40] Speaker 2: No, he plays more than you want. No, I'm not
[2:05:43] Speaker 2: saying he's smarter than Russ. If King and Murray got
[2:05:45] Speaker 2: the thumb injury, she'll be out for at least a month.
[2:05:46] Speaker 1: No, it just makes them more dynamic of a team
[2:05:49] Speaker 1: when Russ can come off the bench and get.
[2:05:50] Speaker 2: Them more firepower. You don't want him and Monk. You
[2:05:54] Speaker 2: don't want him and Monk. You want Schroeder controlling that
[2:05:57] Speaker 2: second unit.
[2:05:57] Speaker 4: Yeah, you want Monk.
[2:05:59] Speaker 2: Him, Monk coming off playing the way they play. That'd
[2:06:01] Speaker 2: be a dangerous. I don't know, man. Dennis Schroeder, man,
[2:06:03] Speaker 2: he's nice. on the second unit they know what I'm
[2:06:05] Speaker 2: looking at I would lose him to my starters I mean, you.
[2:06:14] Speaker 1: Know, because you don't be aggressive.
[2:06:19] Speaker 4: I was at LaVey.
[2:06:20] Speaker 2: You're right. He's not going to be. Yes, he is.
[2:06:25] Speaker 2: I want him to. So I want him in a second.
[2:06:27] Speaker 2: You're right. You're right. You're right. Yeah. With the second,
[2:06:29] Speaker 2: you'll be you, Dennis. You want Russ and DeMar? Yeah.
[2:06:33] Speaker 2: Backdoor and cut and slice. Because Russ will pass.
[2:06:36] Speaker 1: Dennis Roder is still trying to score. Russ don't want
[2:06:38] Speaker 1: to score. I want Schroeder scoring. At this point, is
[2:06:42] Speaker 1: Russ particular? He going to try to leave the league
[2:06:44] Speaker 1: and assist again if he starts.
[2:06:45] Speaker 2: Dennis Schroeder is not a better scorer than Russell Westbrook.
[2:06:48] Speaker 2: He's what? He's not a better scorer than Russell Westbrook.
[2:06:50] Speaker 2: Say that again now?
[2:06:51] Speaker 1: Dennis Schroeder is not a better scorer than Russell Westbrook.
[2:06:54] Speaker 2: He's a better scorer right now. Yes.
[2:06:57] Speaker 4: Does he score more than him? That's a different conversation.
[2:06:59] Speaker 4: But just a natural score and how to get buckets?
[2:07:03] Speaker 4: He got more shit to him. He carries the whole country.
[2:07:05] Speaker 4: He carries the whole country. He know what he doing.
[2:07:10] Speaker 4: And I'm the biggest Russell Westbrook fan there could possibly be.
[2:07:13] Speaker 4: Dennis got some shit to him. A black man in Germany.
[2:07:16] Speaker 1: You're lining up Russ versus Dennis and you're taking Dennis.
[2:07:21] Speaker 2: I'm not saying one-on-one. I'm saying scoring the ball in
[2:07:24] Speaker 2: the offensive set. Dennis has more shit to win.
[2:07:37] Speaker 1: He's a better shooter from the perimeter than rough But
[2:07:40] Speaker 1: other things are part of scoring to.
[2:07:41] Speaker 2: Get into the fucking paint get into the More shit
[2:07:43] Speaker 2: you gotta catch that boy to delay if I lay
[2:07:50] Speaker 2: paint getting to the line.
[2:07:52] Speaker 1: Then it don't get to the line like that.
[2:07:54] Speaker 2: If we do all the same shit, I can shoot
[2:07:55] Speaker 2: it better than you. Who has more shit?
[2:07:58] Speaker 1: If I lay the ball up more than you, who
[2:08:01] Speaker 1: actually shoots a higher percentage?
[2:08:02] Speaker 4: And I shoot it better than you from the perimeter,
[2:08:04] Speaker 4: who has a better score?
[2:08:05] Speaker 2: Me. I'm hitting layups. I'm doing layups. Who has a
[2:08:08] Speaker 2: better mid-range? Come on, man. No, we're not.
[2:08:11] Speaker 1: Y'all seeing it from a lens of what the teams
[2:08:14] Speaker 1: have been allowing him.
[2:08:15] Speaker 2: To do lately. Russ can steal the play. No, we're
[2:08:17] Speaker 2: not saying you can't. You're changing. You're changing. You want
[2:08:29] Speaker 2: us to be saying that. I'm not changing nothing. You
[2:08:32] Speaker 2: want us to be saying that. I know Russell's a
[2:08:34] Speaker 2: better scorer than Dennis Rosen. I know that.
[2:08:37] Speaker 4: I want Russell to be with the starting five where
[2:08:39] Speaker 4: he can play off these guys, play smart, be in
[2:08:43] Speaker 4: that great atmosphere.
[2:08:44] Speaker 2: Coming off that bench, wild monk. I want Dennis Schroeder.
[2:08:49] Speaker 2: Dennis don't have an off switch. Dennis Schroeder does not
[2:08:51] Speaker 2: have an off switch.
[2:08:52] Speaker 1: He becomes now because it's like his, it's like his
[2:08:54] Speaker 1: zero team where he gets to play with the ball,
[2:08:57] Speaker 1: do whatever.
[2:08:57] Speaker 2: Me, you can play. Him and Funk get to slash.
[2:09:01] Speaker 2: That's like Barbosa.
[2:09:03] Speaker 1: When he was with Golden State. He becomes a very
[2:09:06] Speaker 1: different player. You put him as the starter, now he's like, oh,
[2:09:09] Speaker 1: I got to pass the ball. Now I'm just out there.
[2:09:12] Speaker 1: So if I want to maximize both these guys, Russ,
[2:09:15] Speaker 1: you start, push the tempo.
[2:09:17] Speaker 2: Cut, dive. I got all athletic. I got three athletic
[2:09:20] Speaker 2: motherfucking players now. Russ is a hell of a cutter.
[2:09:22] Speaker 2: Russ is a hell of a cutter. Russ goes back door.
[2:09:25] Speaker 1: Listen, put Russ out there with Sabonis, back door, is
[2:09:28] Speaker 1: a fucking excellent choice.
[2:09:30] Speaker 4: Because the back door is his layups. He knows how
[2:09:32] Speaker 4: to screen. Man, Russ is a complete basketball player.
[2:09:36] Speaker 2: Why didn't Russ start in Denver? Why didn't Russ start
[2:09:39] Speaker 2: in Denver? They got that boy over there that damn
[2:09:41] Speaker 2: average 20 every year. Russ started 36 games for the
[2:09:44] Speaker 2: Nuggets last year.
[2:09:44] Speaker 3: At the shooting guard. Out of 75, they had a
[2:09:46] Speaker 3: very good record with him in the starting lineup. And
[2:09:48] Speaker 3: Malik at the.
[2:09:48] Speaker 2: Rest also shot 52%. You bring murder. He's a shooter.
[2:09:54] Speaker 2: You got Devin Carter.
[2:09:56] Speaker 4: You put Devin Carter in the mix with them dudes.
[2:09:58] Speaker 2: It works.
[2:09:59] Speaker 4: You put Dennis shooter off the ball. You can put
[2:10:01] Speaker 4: Devin Carter on the ball. You can let him still
[2:10:04] Speaker 4: be aggressive. Malik money's a slash.
[2:10:05] Speaker 2: He's your three.
[2:10:06] Speaker 4: Then you start fucking with your lineup. This, that, and
[2:10:08] Speaker 4: the third, but it fits best. for Russ to be out.
[2:10:12] Speaker 2: There with that starting lineup.
[2:10:15] Speaker 4: Asking Dennis Schroeder to dial him back?
[2:10:19] Speaker 2: I don't think he can. They're going to be cutting
[2:10:21] Speaker 2: off each other. Now you got three windrunners. You got
[2:10:24] Speaker 2: three windrunners with that lineup. Everybody on that damn thing
[2:10:28] Speaker 2: got 40-inch verticals. No, they move.
[2:10:30] Speaker 6: This group don't sit corners. DeMar is not moving. He's
[2:10:33] Speaker 6: standing around this area.
[2:10:35] Speaker 2: He's the only way to actually move.
[2:10:37] Speaker 6: Russ ain't going to shoot no threes. He's trying to penetrate.
[2:10:40] Speaker 6: But that's their all-in. Russ is playing off the ball.
[2:10:44] Speaker 6: He just said three rim runners. That's their all-in.
[2:10:47] Speaker 2: They're playing split games. That's the worst. They're playing split games.
[2:10:51] Speaker 2: They throw just a bonus, and they all die. I
[2:10:53] Speaker 2: would have Schroeder been there for this.
[2:10:54] Speaker 4: And if you need a bucket, you throw it to DeRozan.
[2:10:56] Speaker 2: This is not one has the ball in the other center.
[2:10:59] Speaker 2: Throw his ball down there, though. Who? No. That's why
[2:11:01] Speaker 2: he doesn't need to be in there. Throw his ball
[2:11:03] Speaker 2: down there. Everybody's been. Bro, he just played in Detroit
[2:11:06] Speaker 2: with the. And he played with the Lakers. You got DeRozan. No, bro.
[2:11:09] Speaker 2: I don't think I'm paying attention, man. Their offense is.
[2:11:13] Speaker 6: I'm not putting Russ in here with DeMar. I don't
[2:11:16] Speaker 6: want them two in the game at the same time.
[2:11:18] Speaker 1: Play him off the ball. They're playing at the same position, bro.
[2:11:21] Speaker 1: Coming off the bench.
[2:11:22] Speaker 2: Energy. All of that. We're running. We're moving. If Dennis
[2:11:24] Speaker 2: Roderick starts, they're not getting the ball. He's ball dominant. No,
[2:11:29] Speaker 2: he's not. No, he's not, bro. The ball goes to Sabonis.
[2:11:32] Speaker 2: Dennis Roderick is in the league, man. He can't turn
[2:11:34] Speaker 2: it off, bro. He's turned it off the last two years. Right.
[2:11:39] Speaker 2: He had it turned on with Brooklyn.
[2:11:41] Speaker 1: He had to turn it on because it's Brooklyn.
[2:11:43] Speaker 2: He's been on 17 for the last two years. Went
[2:11:45] Speaker 2: to the Warriors and said no.
[2:11:47] Speaker 1: Had to turn it down. He's been on 17 for
[2:11:48] Speaker 1: the last two years. You'll sit you over here on
[2:11:50] Speaker 1: the bed. How many times has he been on the
[2:11:53] Speaker 1: last three years?
[2:11:53] Speaker 2: 13, 12. You know what I'm saying?
[2:11:54] Speaker 8: Yeah.
[2:11:58] Speaker 4: Since you said you've been on seven teams the last
[2:12:01] Speaker 4: three years last year and you.
[2:12:02] Speaker 1: Say you're not going to like so you want them
[2:12:04] Speaker 1: start you want that guy seven teams. I won't because
[2:12:08] Speaker 1: he can be effective with that you when he's on
[2:12:11] Speaker 1: them seven teams.
[2:12:12] Speaker 2: What is he averaging getting his open shots.
[2:12:14] Speaker 4: Based on the ball. It ain't going to be no
[2:12:15] Speaker 4: ice in the 13 to 14 range. Yo, every team
[2:12:17] Speaker 4: he's been on. He's been on seven teams in the
[2:12:18] Speaker 4: last 17 last three years.
[2:12:26] Speaker 1: He's averaging 13, 14, 15.
[2:12:29] Speaker 2: He's not turning it off, man. He don't know how.
[2:12:33] Speaker 2: So what is turning it off? Him being out there
[2:12:35] Speaker 2: with the starters. Is that eight points a game? That's
[2:12:37] Speaker 2: all you need. Are you saying eight points a game
[2:12:39] Speaker 2: is turning it off?
[2:12:40] Speaker 1: You know your game with starters and without starters.
[2:12:44] Speaker 2: Your shit changes when you have to turn it off.
[2:12:46] Speaker 6: No, we don't need him to turn it off.
[2:12:49] Speaker 4: If he's out with the starters, I hear he's not capable.
[2:12:51] Speaker 2: Go call it. What I'm saying, he's not capable.
[2:12:53] Speaker 1: Of doing it with you saying he turning it on
[2:12:56] Speaker 1: at your know, he's always on.
[2:12:58] Speaker 2: I'm not saying he's turning anything on. He's always on
[2:13:00] Speaker 2: and he's at 13 a game. Yes, that's the starters though.
[2:13:03] Speaker 2: He's aggressive. That's 13. It's not 20. How many shots
[2:13:07] Speaker 2: are you taking? We don't know.
[2:13:08] Speaker 1: You didn't say none of that. They don't say that.
[2:13:10] Speaker 2: It matters. But you ain't use it in the content.
[2:13:13] Speaker 2: It matters, Rashad. So can you score without shooting the ball, Rashad?
[2:13:16] Speaker 1: How many shots are we taking? I I know that
[2:13:18] Speaker 1: for sure because Smart didn't do it. Can you score
[2:13:20] Speaker 1: by shooting the ball? He didn't shoot one ball.
[2:13:22] Speaker 2: He had zero.
[2:13:24] Speaker 4: So the point I'm making is he's averaging 13 in
[2:13:27] Speaker 4: these times. How many shots is he taking to get
[2:13:29] Speaker 4: this 13 is what I'm saying.
[2:13:30] Speaker 2: Five or six.
[2:13:35] Speaker 1: You want me to pull up the stat of how
[2:13:38] Speaker 1: many times he's shooting the game? I can do that.
[2:13:41] Speaker 1: If you want to know, we can go to the stat.
[2:13:43] Speaker 1: He's shooting the ball 12 times. When he turned on
[2:13:45] Speaker 1: that money from the Lakers. He's shooting the last year nine.
[2:13:54] Speaker 2: Off the bench. 10. Off the bench. 11. Off the bench. 12.
[2:13:58] Speaker 2: Off the bench. 11. Off the bench. 11. Off the bench. Nine.
[2:14:01] Speaker 4: So he can't turn it off.
[2:14:03] Speaker 1: So if he's in the starting lineup, we don't know
[2:14:05] Speaker 1: how many times he's shooting.
[2:14:06] Speaker 4: He's shooting more than that.
[2:14:07] Speaker 2: You just say it, off the bench, off the bench.
[2:14:08] Speaker 4: He's shooting it more than that if he's starting.
[2:14:10] Speaker 2: For sure, because he's ball dominant now. He was just cooking.
[2:14:13] Speaker 1: If these numbers are because he's coming off the bench,
[2:14:16] Speaker 1: that's because I get to shoot the ball because I'm
[2:14:18] Speaker 1: coming off the bench.
[2:14:19] Speaker 2: He needs scoring. If I'm in the starting lineup, I'm
[2:14:23] Speaker 2: not going to be shooting that much because I have
[2:14:25] Speaker 2: to play the point guard position. Exactly. I'm going to
[2:14:27] Speaker 2: take less shots. That's what I've been telling him. He's
[2:14:29] Speaker 2: going to take less shots. Because I got other scores.
[2:14:36] Speaker 2: I got two 20-point scores. So now you're not effective.
[2:14:38] Speaker 2: I have Zach Levine and DeMar DeRozan. Why do I
[2:14:41] Speaker 2: need to be taking 10 shots? And then I got Sabonis,
[2:14:44] Speaker 2: who's another all-star. Why do I need? I take less shots.
[2:14:48] Speaker 2: He's proving a point. Exactly. I'm taking my 10. If
[2:14:51] Speaker 2: he's used to taking... 11, 12 shots off the bench.
[2:14:56] Speaker 1: And that's how great he is and how he plays
[2:15:00] Speaker 1: and what he does in playoffs and stuff. And you
[2:15:03] Speaker 1: say start, and you got two dudes who average 25
[2:15:06] Speaker 1: and 26, and you have some bonus, meaning I.
[2:15:09] Speaker 2: Can't shoot the ball.
[2:15:11] Speaker 1: That means I got to sit in the corner and
[2:15:13] Speaker 1: be Derek Fisher, take three, five shots.
[2:15:15] Speaker 2: You're not doing nothing great for him. You lose a play.
[2:15:18] Speaker 1: You're doing great for the team. It's doing it for
[2:15:21] Speaker 1: the team. No, Russ comes and he's a fire plug.
[2:15:25] Speaker 1: Russ hasn't started since when?
[2:15:28] Speaker 2: Last year. Okay.
[2:15:29] Speaker 4: He started 36 games last year.
[2:15:33] Speaker 2: Did he start the season? He started 36 games last year.
[2:15:35] Speaker 2: Did Russ start the season? He did not. He started 36,
[2:15:38] Speaker 2: 75 due to injury. All right.
[2:15:39] Speaker 1: Why y'all keep acting like y'all don't know what I'm
[2:15:41] Speaker 1: talking about?
[2:15:41] Speaker 2: Come on, bro. Come on, bro. You said this is
[2:15:44] Speaker 2: the last time he started last year.
[2:15:46] Speaker 1: Okay, before last year, when did Russell Westbrook start? Has
[2:15:50] Speaker 1: he not been coming off the bench? Yes, in Washington
[2:15:52] Speaker 1: he started. He's been coming off the bench, right? In Washington,
[2:15:54] Speaker 1: he started. When he had a triple-double in Washington, he started. So,
[2:15:57] Speaker 1: Dennis Schroeder, if we want to win with the Sacramento
[2:16:01] Speaker 1: Kings with two, almost three 20-point scores. We need you
[2:16:06] Speaker 1: to play the effective point guard position.
[2:16:08] Speaker 2: He don't know how. Yes, he does. No, he does not.
[2:16:11] Speaker 2: That's a score.
[2:16:11] Speaker 1: How about the guy who averaged your damn triple-double? How
[2:16:17] Speaker 1: about the guy who put the guy that led the
[2:16:19] Speaker 1: league in the sixth for three years?
[2:16:21] Speaker 2: Let's try him out.
[2:16:22] Speaker 1: Why didn't nobody else pick Russell Westbrook to be the
[2:16:25] Speaker 1: starting point guard?
[2:16:26] Speaker 2: Go ask them that. I don't know. Y'all don't have
[2:16:28] Speaker 2: an opinion? Y'all don't have an opinion? Y'all don't have
[2:16:32] Speaker 2: an opinion? Y'all don't have an opinion now? We talking
[2:16:34] Speaker 2: about his current? Okay. His current team did.
[2:16:36] Speaker 1: Not kick him to come in and start at the
[2:16:38] Speaker 1: point guard position.
[2:16:40] Speaker 2: Do you know that? Yes. Yes. We do know. No,
[2:16:42] Speaker 2: we don't know that. We know that. He just got
[2:16:43] Speaker 2: signed today. We don't know. He would have been picked
[2:16:46] Speaker 2: up before training camp. We don't know that.
[2:16:47] Speaker 4: He wanted more money.
[2:16:49] Speaker 2: Now y'all just making shit up.
[2:16:50] Speaker 4: No, these are facts.
[2:16:50] Speaker 2: Now y'all just making shit up. These are facts. Come on, man.
[2:16:52] Speaker 2: These are facts. He wanted more money. Come on, man.
[2:16:55] Speaker 2: God damn.
[2:16:56] Speaker 1: So we know who the best point guard is for
[2:16:58] Speaker 1: point guarding. Russell coming off the bench last year. had
[2:17:05] Speaker 1: a down year with six assists a game. Dennis Rowe,
[2:17:10] Speaker 1: the best year is six.
[2:17:13] Speaker 2: So he had a down year last year. Six point two. Dennis'
[2:17:17] Speaker 2: best year is six point six in Brooklyn. So who
[2:17:25] Speaker 2: you want coming off the bench and who you want
[2:17:27] Speaker 2: starting creating a team?
[2:17:30] Speaker 4: Yeah, I'm going to go with... You want the six man.
[2:17:34] Speaker 2: coming off with the other six-man, and they be some
[2:17:36] Speaker 2: six-man duos, and you let these all-stars and these superstars
[2:17:40] Speaker 2: play together. I don't want that. If I'm Monk, I
[2:17:42] Speaker 2: don't want that. If you Monk, yes. I don't want
[2:17:44] Speaker 2: that shit. Nick, you had fun when you came out
[2:17:46] Speaker 2: with y'all. You did the play three. You love coming
[2:17:48] Speaker 2: off the field. You be the all-star. off the field. Hey,
[2:17:51] Speaker 2: so Schroeder came.
[2:17:52] Speaker 1: Schroeder's not a real point, though, right? He's not a
[2:17:55] Speaker 1: real point. He don't average more than six. No, he
[2:17:58] Speaker 1: doesn't average six. His average size was six.
[2:18:00] Speaker 2: His international stats, right? Oh, no, no, no.
[2:18:02] Speaker 1: The ball ain't talking about the NBA. The ball ain't
[2:18:04] Speaker 1: talking about the NBA.
[2:18:06] Speaker 2: I don't watch European basketball, so I don't know. Paris. Paris.
[2:18:10] Speaker 2: I don't know about that. I don't know nothing about that. 15-9.
[2:18:25] Speaker 2: Let him finish. 15-9.
[2:18:29] Speaker 1: You know, he's running the team for his people to
[2:18:33] Speaker 1: get them championships.
[2:18:35] Speaker 2: He turned into a point guard. Right? Because he's the
[2:18:39] Speaker 2: best player on the team. I don't know. Because he
[2:18:41] Speaker 2: knows how to play point guard.
[2:18:43] Speaker 1: To win the championship for his international team.
[2:18:47] Speaker 2: So when he comes to the Americas.
[2:18:50] Speaker 1: And he's forced to play when he has to play
[2:18:52] Speaker 1: off the bench, right?
[2:18:53] Speaker 2: We play off the bench. What is your.
[2:18:55] Speaker 1: Requirement when I say, listen, Dennis, we need you.
[2:18:57] Speaker 2: To do this off the bench? Off the bench is
[2:18:59] Speaker 2: to be the best. Score. Be the best. Right? Right? Okay.
[2:19:03] Speaker 1: So if we place you in the starting role, your
[2:19:06] Speaker 1: role would now be the same role you have on
[2:19:08] Speaker 1: your international squad.
[2:19:10] Speaker 4: No, it would not. Because he's not the best player
[2:19:12] Speaker 4: on the team.
[2:19:13] Speaker 2: 14 and 9. He's not the best player on the team.
[2:19:16] Speaker 2: He's not 20 and 9. Not 25 and nine. Not
[2:19:19] Speaker 2: 36 and nine. 14 points and nine assists. You know
[2:19:22] Speaker 2: what I'm saying is, they can try to win. They
[2:19:24] Speaker 2: don't want me to win, but I'm already in. I'm
[2:19:33] Speaker 2: already in. It don't matter. Where he's the best player
[2:19:38] Speaker 2: in the country. Where that means he does everything for
[2:19:42] Speaker 2: the country.
[2:19:43] Speaker 1: And you want to start him in the NBA where
[2:19:46] Speaker 1: he's an afterthought in the starting five. His bench squad
[2:19:51] Speaker 1: is like him overseas.
[2:19:52] Speaker 2: That's why he dominates.
[2:19:54] Speaker 4: See, when he comes off the bench and Monk is
[2:19:56] Speaker 4: the next best player on the team and then everybody else,
[2:19:59] Speaker 4: he gets to run the show. When he starts and
[2:20:02] Speaker 4: he got 25, 26, damn near triple, double guy, he
[2:20:06] Speaker 4: is irrelevant.
[2:20:08] Speaker 2: That means you go sit in the corner. You don't
[2:20:09] Speaker 2: run the program. You don't set. You don't do nothing.
[2:20:12] Speaker 1: It becomes it's the superstar team.
[2:20:15] Speaker 2: What he's not used to.
[2:20:16] Speaker 1: That's why he can't do that in the NBA where
[2:20:19] Speaker 1: he gets to be the best.
[2:20:20] Speaker 2: That's why we didn't know he was balling like that
[2:20:22] Speaker 2: until we seen him in FIBA. Oh, shit. He can
[2:20:24] Speaker 2: really do that thing. Well, he's balling. Yes, he was balling.
[2:20:29] Speaker 2: Do you? And that's what I'm saying you need to
[2:20:31] Speaker 2: do here. Now, if he does the same thing, he
[2:20:34] Speaker 2: does his thing everywhere he goes.
[2:20:35] Speaker 1: Now, if he does that with the second unit, how
[2:20:37] Speaker 1: good are they? Because he can't do it on the
[2:20:45] Speaker 1: first unit. He can really play.
[2:20:47] Speaker 2: He started with Brooklyn. He bought in Atlanta. Everywhere he goes.
[2:20:51] Speaker 2: Everywhere he goes, he plays well. Yeah. He started. But
[2:20:55] Speaker 2: their team.
[2:20:56] Speaker 1: They know, but he's going to do him. Two dudes
[2:20:59] Speaker 1: that average 25 and 26. And you got another who
[2:21:01] Speaker 1: they play through.
[2:21:02] Speaker 2: Yes.
[2:21:02] Speaker 4: Who's getting snubbed every year for all-stars.
[2:21:05] Speaker 2: He's definitely going to beat Mike Conley. That's all he needs.
[2:21:07] Speaker 2: He wins international championships by being that guy. What do
[2:21:10] Speaker 2: you mean? Why do you want to keep talking about
[2:21:12] Speaker 2: international basketball? Because he's winning. That's winning basketball. He's winning.
[2:21:15] Speaker 2: Pass the ball. That's over there. Basketball is basketball. No,
[2:21:18] Speaker 2: it's not. We got Russ.
[2:21:18] Speaker 4: He's on the bench. He's going to come off Basketball
[2:21:36] Speaker 4: is basketball, right? So in the NBA, can you knock
[2:21:38] Speaker 4: the ball off the rim? If it's on the rim,
[2:21:40] Speaker 4: can you touch it?
[2:21:41] Speaker 2: If it's basketball, it's basketball. Of course you can. Right?
[2:21:44] Speaker 2: Is it? You cannot do that.
[2:21:45] Speaker 4: So it's not basketball, it's basketball. Is the paint the
[2:21:47] Speaker 4: same size over there? Or is it a different shape?
[2:21:51] Speaker 4: And it's still in Paris.
[2:21:53] Speaker 2: Now they changed it. They changed it back. That was
[2:21:55] Speaker 2: a good one. See? God bless America. They didn't come
[2:21:59] Speaker 2: back and play the Americas. Basketball ain't basketball.
[2:22:02] Speaker 1: Hey, dude, do they pop without picking?
[2:22:11] Speaker 2: They do this on the Lakers.
[2:22:14] Speaker 1: And on that note, ladies and gentlemen, let's move on
[2:22:16] Speaker 1: to Mostly Fans.
[2:22:17] Speaker 2: Hey, you got to make the joke. Y'all don't want
[2:22:19] Speaker 2: to talk about me, man. Presented by underdog. If you're
[2:22:25] Speaker 2: a new underdog user. After the joke, you still got
[2:22:27] Speaker 2: to live with the fact that you get your ass cooked.
[2:22:30] Speaker 2: It don't matter.
[2:22:31] Speaker 1: If you're a new underdog user. 14 and 9 winning.
[2:22:35] Speaker 1: He gets 14 points on the bench.
[2:22:37] Speaker 2: It don't matter. I'm not going to lie. The international standard.
[2:22:42] Speaker 2: I don't know where he was going. They said we're international.
[2:22:45] Speaker 1: International, the average, which was last year when Germany was winning,
[2:22:49] Speaker 1: beating these niggas, winning the fucking, holding the shit up.
[2:22:52] Speaker 2: Germany, why? Schroeder. The fatherless. Schroeder. The Deutschland. Schroeder. We
[2:22:58] Speaker 2: went to most events.
[2:23:00] Speaker 3: Because, you know, we spill over here on this show,
[2:23:03] Speaker 3: but this is Mosty Fans presented by Underdog.
[2:23:05] Speaker 2: If you are a new user on Underdog, you download.
[2:23:08] Speaker 3: The app, use promo code Gil, you can get $ 100

[2:23:14] Speaker 2: for you. I missed it. So our first question from
[2:23:18] Speaker 2: Underdog user Slime95. I'll see you niggas next Wednesday.
[2:23:23] Speaker 1: Gil, we have another show this week, sir. Slime95, what
[2:23:26] Speaker 1: was the best part of your break this summer?
[2:23:28] Speaker 2: Mr. B, we'll start with you. What was the best
[2:23:29] Speaker 2: part of your break this summer? Of course, traveling.
[2:23:33] Speaker 7: Of course, I got the chance to be a part
[2:23:35] Speaker 7: of the Slam Magazine's two-on-two alumni game with McDonald's All-American, me, Lou.
[2:23:41] Speaker 2: Will, T.F. Cooper, and Deja Kelly. So that was dope
[2:23:45] Speaker 2: being out there with the kids and.
[2:23:47] Speaker 7: Having my son be at Rucker Park for the first
[2:23:48] Speaker 7: time and things like that.
[2:23:50] Speaker 2: So it was cool. Swaggy P, obviously Special Forces, you
[2:23:53] Speaker 2: did a lot of things this summer. Yeah, I did
[2:23:55] Speaker 2: a lot of stuff, man. We've seen the clips. What
[2:24:01] Speaker 2: was the best part of your break this summer?
[2:24:03] Speaker 6: Um, man, shit, I would say special forces for sure.
[2:24:09] Speaker 6: You know, climbing, jumping out of helicopters and shit. We
[2:24:14] Speaker 6: made Pat Bev cut his hair and shit. He got
[2:24:17] Speaker 6: tired of being a mechanic. Now, you know, he look
[2:24:21] Speaker 6: like he got his life together, recovering attic. Yeah, you know, kids,
[2:24:29] Speaker 6: you know, just chilling, looking good. And I lost some weight,
[2:24:31] Speaker 6: as y'all can see. Doing a GIL workout, lost 10 pounds,
[2:24:36] Speaker 6: 15 pounds.
[2:24:36] Speaker 2: What is the GIL workout, Swaggy? Injection. I heard he'd
[2:24:39] Speaker 2: be out there. The O-Zemp? The GIL Zemp? Right into
[2:24:42] Speaker 2: the stomach? You can't use the same spot over and over.
[2:24:44] Speaker 2: You know, start knocking up around the stomach. You have
[2:24:47] Speaker 2: to move it around. Mosquito bites, that's what you call
[2:24:49] Speaker 2: them when people rub on them. Let's go on this
[2:24:50] Speaker 2: side of the couch quickly. Cemetery Larry, best part of
[2:24:53] Speaker 2: your break this summer? Damn. Oh, shit. Got to reactivate
[2:24:59] Speaker 2: my hands profile.
[2:25:02] Speaker 1: Back on his back the house calls and you know
[2:25:05] Speaker 1: waiting the niggas leave town.
[2:25:08] Speaker 2: I got that back.
[2:25:09] Speaker 13: I'm saying take them off take taking the workout. I'm
[2:25:11] Speaker 13: saying I Just take a little pay cut. You know
[2:25:15] Speaker 13: I'm saying I gotta get you know, I'm still broke
[2:25:17] Speaker 13: But you know I'm saying make it I make it
[2:25:19] Speaker 13: work when I need to I'm saying that's about.
[2:25:21] Speaker 3: It back on his tremendous accomplishment Shit it was it
[2:25:26] Speaker 3: was the hiatus for a bit dry.
[2:25:29] Speaker 2: It was dry.
[2:25:29] Speaker 1: I was parched Not gonna lie, I was very parched
[2:25:32] Speaker 1: for a while.
[2:25:33] Speaker 2: I don't know where to get it from, man. Slyver,
[2:25:36] Speaker 2: what was the best part of your break this summer?
[2:25:39] Speaker 2: Making it on the other side of it, brother. Being
[2:25:43] Speaker 2: back here. Making it on the other side. With your brother.
[2:25:45] Speaker 2: That's all. At your age. Last but not least. Gilbert J. Arenas.
[2:25:51] Speaker 1: The J may stand for J. It may stand for Jorge.
[2:25:53] Speaker 2: We don't know. I had to get one on you today. No,
[2:25:56] Speaker 2: we are peaceful. It wouldn't be the show.
[2:25:58] Speaker 1: We are a couch of peace and tranquility. Gil was
[2:26:01] Speaker 1: the best part of your break this summer. And America,
[2:26:10] Speaker 1: what the fuck is wrong with you? I went to jail.
[2:26:17] Speaker 2: You learned a lot about yourself, girl. Went to jail,
[2:26:19] Speaker 2: lost my name, lost two days. You were out quickly, though.
[2:26:24] Speaker 2: The fuck was happy about my son, Josiah? You were
[2:26:27] Speaker 2: out quickly. They lost my name. You see that? They
[2:26:32] Speaker 2: cut that up. There's just an extra rug in the
[2:26:34] Speaker 2: back of it. They just put the kilts right over there.
[2:26:36] Speaker 2: That ain't part of the goddamn thing. That's a plug
[2:26:39] Speaker 2: and play. Hairpads. That's a toupee. That's a toupee right there, man.
[2:26:44] Speaker 4: We're going to snatch that off tomorrow and put down
[2:26:46] Speaker 4: the regular shit.
[2:26:46] Speaker 1: We'll be back tomorrow. You're our free man. We were
[2:26:50] Speaker 1: all stressed. We were all stressed when you went down.
[2:26:52] Speaker 1: Glad you were back home. Made it in and out
[2:26:54] Speaker 1: less than a day. The only best thing about this summer, man,
[2:26:59] Speaker 1: is Ronnie 2 Gay gave me the official.
[2:27:04] Speaker 4: NBA logo on my creative player. So when I walk
[2:27:08] Speaker 4: in them streets, baby, yeah, they know I'm there. They
[2:27:12] Speaker 4: know I'm the real one. Spending a lot of time
[2:27:13] Speaker 4: at the record store. I'm the real one.
[2:27:15] Speaker 2: So I just walk around and just see all my peoples.
[2:27:18] Speaker 2: You know what I mean? Who ready to hoop? So
[2:27:20] Speaker 2: that was kind of like the best. Other than that,
[2:27:23] Speaker 2: it was free guilt till it's backward. It's been stressful
[2:27:27] Speaker 2: some of it, so I don't know where you're getting
[2:27:29] Speaker 2: all this. We're back here now. God is good. Nah,
[2:27:33] Speaker 2: they took off the ankle brace. Nah, I never had
[2:27:35] Speaker 2: one of those, man. Nah, you answered the question.
[2:27:38] Speaker 1: My bill was like $ 10, 000. try to avoid it. You
[2:27:41] Speaker 1: go ahead and answer your shit, too.
[2:27:43] Speaker 2: Best part. What was your best part?
[2:27:45] Speaker 3: Blime95, just getting to spend some time with the youth.
[2:27:48] Speaker 3: Gil Gibby back contributing. Hanging out with yourself and his crew.
[2:27:53] Speaker 3: Seeing you get free so we still had a job.
[2:27:56] Speaker 3: Come on to us, Tom.
[2:27:57] Speaker 2: Barely. You weren't even in jail long enough to boo-boo.
[2:28:01] Speaker 2: You're right. I think we're all golfers now, huh? I
[2:28:05] Speaker 2: got to get out there with y'all, too. I'm with
[2:28:07] Speaker 2: Gil as a man now. Yeah, we need to play
[2:28:09] Speaker 2: somebody else's show. I'm the best player. Golf? Yeah, we're
[2:28:11] Speaker 2: all golfers. We got to play basketball. Yeah, I know. Yeah,
[2:28:16] Speaker 2: that's what we got to do. That's what we got
[2:28:18] Speaker 2: to do, yeah. Because my man is over here. These
[2:28:21] Speaker 2: two over here.
[2:28:23] Speaker 1: Woo!
[2:28:25] Speaker 2: Boy, listen, he going to have the great-ass outfits, right?
[2:28:28] Speaker 2: We know that we can count on him to move
[2:28:30] Speaker 2: the ball wherever we need it to be moved. Because
[2:28:33] Speaker 2: he going to hit the ball and take off, right?
[2:28:35] Speaker 2: He don't wait for nobody. Drop it out of his pocket.
[2:28:37] Speaker 2: He going to drop it. Hey, man! It's right here.
[2:28:39] Speaker 2: I promise you, I was so mad. You know what
[2:28:42] Speaker 2: I'm talking about? We was over there looking, and it
[2:28:44] Speaker 2: was right where we was at. He was like, oh,
[2:28:46] Speaker 2: I found it. Come on, man. He was just right there. Yo,
[2:28:49] Speaker 2: has it took anybody three hours to play a front nine?
[2:28:53] Speaker 6: No.
[2:28:54] Speaker 2: Nobody's trying. It takes us three hours to play a
[2:28:56] Speaker 2: front nine. So, of course, I'm cheating. Yes. Let's go.
[2:28:58] Speaker 2: Let's get this. Let's get it going. I've never seen.
[2:29:01] Speaker 2: We sitting up here. I'm hitting my ball. He got
[2:29:04] Speaker 2: to go back to hit his. You're supposed to be
[2:29:05] Speaker 2: hitting before me. I know. So, yeah, of course, I'm cheating.
[2:29:08] Speaker 2: Let's go. We sitting here playing three hours for a
[2:29:10] Speaker 2: front nine. That is unbelievable. Three hours for a front nine.
[2:29:13] Speaker 2: We played. Finally, he admitted it. It's a whole round. Eight.
[2:29:16] Speaker 2: It's 18 holes. How many, like, three on the front nine.
[2:29:20] Speaker 2: How many balls do you lose?
[2:29:22] Speaker 4: Oh, if we playing at Moorpark, shit, all of them.
[2:29:25] Speaker 2: Yeah, that's where we played. That's where we played, yo.
[2:29:27] Speaker 2: All of them. Yeah, we played there. All of them.
[2:29:30] Speaker 2: He was 17 in.
[2:29:31] Speaker 4: That sounds about right. I went out there last week.
[2:29:33] Speaker 4: I was about to sound about that right. He was
[2:29:35] Speaker 4: 17 in. I still have a car.
[2:29:37] Speaker 2: And he got pars. Oh, no. I did get some pars.
[2:29:40] Speaker 2: I did get pars.
[2:29:41] Speaker 4: I don't even keep score when I go out there.
[2:29:45] Speaker 2: Don't worry. Don't worry. He going to keep it for you. Yeah,
[2:29:49] Speaker 2: King had a 17. That shit was all right. There's
[2:29:54] Speaker 2: a part three. You're going to be like, Kenyon got
[2:29:57] Speaker 2: stabbed or something. Then they're going to pull you alive.
[2:29:59] Speaker 2: We were going to address that tomorrow, Sean. I see, obviously,
[2:30:03] Speaker 2: you know who Cooper Flagg is. You're going to address
[2:30:05] Speaker 2: it tomorrow. I ain't going to be wearing it tomorrow.
[2:30:06] Speaker 2: You see, you obviously know who Cooper Flagg is. Yeah,
[2:30:09] Speaker 2: Cooper Looper. But Cooper may or may not know. Don't matter.
[2:30:12] Speaker 2: Who the dream killer, Championship Charles. Can't play no bad game.
[2:30:15] Speaker 2: Buddy Makerson. He can't play no bad game. Cemetery Larrys.
[2:30:18] Speaker 2: He got to play good every game. Darth Vader with
[2:30:20] Speaker 2: the green saber. That green saber. Change of color. Yeah,
[2:30:24] Speaker 2: I'm on the good side of the dark. I'm on
[2:30:26] Speaker 2: the good side.
[2:30:29] Speaker 3: Producers want to know, which show are y'all calling out
[2:30:32] Speaker 3: to challenge you in a round of golf?
[2:30:35] Speaker 2: Who do y'all want to smoke with? A lot of
[2:30:37] Speaker 2: white people out there. One of the white show?
[2:30:39] Speaker 7: I want to smoke with Matt Barnes for sure.
[2:30:43] Speaker 2: Well, Matt's pretty good. Is that good? No. He has
[2:30:49] Speaker 2: a handicap. I'm pretty good. They said Matt's not that good.
[2:30:53] Speaker 2: Matt played fucking good. D. Wright, Dwayne Wade. Why are
[2:30:57] Speaker 2: you going after people who play? They're not that good.
[2:31:00] Speaker 2: They're not that good? Watch out. Trouble. Playback.tv. That's crazy. Trouble.
[2:31:10] Speaker 2: You right, Matt Barnes.
[2:31:12] Speaker 1: I'm sorry about the cafeteria chairs.
[2:31:15] Speaker 2: Like, you got to line it up with everybody.
[2:31:17] Speaker 14: Friday, Tuesday, and probably get them cushions. Yeah, I'll be
[2:31:20] Speaker 14: in there. I'll get us down. We'll get you there.
[2:31:24] Speaker 14: We'll get you there. So as we celebrate the beginning.
[2:31:27] Speaker 2: Jeff Teague now. Jeff Teague. Because I know Ben. I
[2:31:30] Speaker 2: know Henny K. He's black. He's black. He's black. He's black.
[2:31:32] Speaker 2: He's black. He's black. He's black. He's black. He's black.
[2:31:35] Speaker 2: He's black. He's black. He's black.
[2:31:49] Speaker 3: Producer Steve was the showrunner for season two and three
[2:31:51] Speaker 3: of Gills Arena. Steve was an integral part of the
[2:31:53] Speaker 3: growth and success on the show, behind the scenes, and
[2:31:56] Speaker 3: in front of them as well. He was a voice
[2:31:57] Speaker 3: you would often hear during episodes, kicking knowledge and Knicks propaganda.
[2:32:01] Speaker 3: A veteran of the sports media game was stopped at
[2:32:03] Speaker 3: ESPN and Fox Sports for coming over here. Steve brought structure,
[2:32:06] Speaker 3: stability to Gills Arena. Steve Martinez, we appreciate you. Debra
[2:32:10] Speaker 3: Goods was our production manager for the past two seasons.
[2:32:12] Speaker 3: Always with the extra mile to ensure that everything ran
[2:32:14] Speaker 3: smoothly around here. Deb handled the chaos that comes with
[2:32:17] Speaker 3: managing a daily show of this magnitude with Grace. Always
[2:32:20] Speaker 3: made sure everyone got everything they needed. We appreciate you, Deb.
[2:32:23] Speaker 3: And last but definitely not least, Paolo Grassini. Paolo was
[2:32:27] Speaker 3: with Gil's Arena from day one. serving in a variety
[2:32:30] Speaker 3: of roles simultaneously. Paolo was our director, technical director, assistant director,
[2:32:34] Speaker 3: and creative designer, also a lover of legendary T-shirts and
[2:32:37] Speaker 3: movie quotes. So a visionary with love and passion for
[2:32:40] Speaker 3: all things production and creative, Paolo was a fearless and
[2:32:42] Speaker 3: tireless worker. Paolo would often be in this basement seven
[2:32:45] Speaker 3: days a week, looking for ways to innovate and improve
[2:32:48] Speaker 3: the show in any way possible. Also, whenever you heard
[2:32:50] Speaker 3: the they fucking up in the back audio clip. They
[2:32:53] Speaker 3: fucking up in the back. It was Paolo playing that
[2:32:56] Speaker 3: clip to essentially clown himself. But make no mistake, Gil's
[2:32:59] Speaker 3: Arena isn't the show you know and love without Paolo.
[2:33:01] Speaker 3: So Steve, Deb, and Paolo, we appreciate you. Wish you
[2:33:04] Speaker 3: all the best moving forward. Everybody else in the chat,
[2:33:06] Speaker 3: appreciate you for rocking with us. We'll be back tomorrow. No,
[2:33:10] Speaker 3: they are still here with us, just not with the show.
[2:33:13] Speaker 2: We got to show love. We got to show love.
[2:33:17] Speaker 1: But this has been another episode of Gil's Arena presented
[2:33:20] Speaker 1: by Underdog.
[2:33:21] Speaker 2: We'll see y'all tomorrow.
