They break down how Victor Wembanyama deserves more blame for the San Antonio Spurs' losses this series and react to the Alien ducking the media following the Game 5 loss before analyzing how the Thunder's role players like Jared McCain & Alex Caruso are stepping up to save the team in the absences of Jalen Williams and Ajay Mitchell. [0:03] Speaker 1: Welcome back to Gil's Arena presented by underdog Woo Woo.
[0:06] Speaker 2: Woo Woo.
[0:08] Speaker 1: Okay, that was a very spirited Woo Woo. Appreciate you
[0:10] Speaker 1: guys on this glorious Wednesday. Hump day for some. Some
[0:14] Speaker 1: teams got humped. Some teams got over the hump. But
[0:18] Speaker 1: this is Gil's Arena presented by underdog Woo Woo. I'm
[0:21] Speaker 1: merely a host, Josiah Johnson. We got one of the
[0:23] Speaker 1: biggest legends in the sports media game, Skip Bayless.
[0:25] Speaker 2: Back in the building.
[0:31] Speaker 1: And making his return day two from the far east
[0:33] Speaker 1: corner of the world, we have NBA champion of the world,
[0:36] Speaker 1: Swaggy P, Nick Young.
[0:38] Speaker 3: Swaggy. Okay.
[0:43] Speaker 4: A.K.A. Bruce Leroy, A.K.A. Blackie Chan. What's up, Swag? Keep
[0:49] Speaker 4: a straight face. He's growing in life.
[0:51] Speaker 3: I like it.
[0:53] Speaker 4: Embracing all cultures. He took a trip.
[0:55] Speaker 2: You do.
[0:57] Speaker 3: After yesterday, it's time. I'm trying to show you who
[1:04] Speaker 3: Chung Long Lee is.
[1:06] Speaker 4: Chung Long Lee. Catching bullets with his teeth.
[1:10] Speaker 1: And on this side of the couch, representing Tough Crowd
[1:12] Speaker 1: and a card-carrying country club member, and also the purveyor
[1:15] Speaker 1: of Tough Crowd golf, we got Mr. B, Brandon Jennings.
[1:17] Speaker 3: Shout-out.
[1:23] Speaker 4: Shout-out.
[1:24] Speaker 1: Last but not least, the man they call Cemetery Larry,
[1:27] Speaker 1: NCAA champion of the world, Dr.
[1:29] Speaker 4: Rashad McCants, PhD.
[1:36] Speaker 2: That was easy. It was.
[1:40] Speaker 4: No double?
[1:41] Speaker 3: It was easy.
[1:42] Speaker 4: No double today?
[1:43] Speaker 2: No double.
[1:44] Speaker 4: No double, okay. Who's that, Cooper Flack? Okay.
[1:49] Speaker 2: Cooper the Hooper.
[1:50] Speaker 1: Cooper the Hooper. Oh, we got a lot to get into.
[1:53] Speaker 1: Here's what's cracking in Gil's arena today. The Undermann Thunder
[1:58] Speaker 1: protected home court to take a 3-2 lead in the
[2:01] Speaker 1: Western Conference Finals.
[2:01] Speaker 3: What did you call it?
[2:02] Speaker 4: The Undermann, missing Jalen Williams, missing A.J. Mitchell.
[2:05] Speaker 3: What did you call it before? What goes down and where?
[2:09] Speaker 4: Huh?
[2:10] Speaker 5: And what show?
[2:11] Speaker 6: What?
[2:12] Speaker 3: No, no, just the arena. Oh, okay, okay.
[2:16] Speaker 4: The Undermann.
[2:17] Speaker 2: What did you thought he said?
[2:18] Speaker 3: I thought he said something else.
[2:19] Speaker 4: I said, here's what's cracking in Gil's arena today. Oh.
[2:22] Speaker 3: See, that's what he said.
[2:25] Speaker 1: Under Man Thunder protected home court to take a 3-2
[2:27] Speaker 1: lead in the Western Conference Finals. Are Wimby and the
[2:32] Speaker 1: Spurs cooked? The league announced to all NBA teams, but
[2:36] Speaker 1: did the voters get it right? We weren't going to
[2:38] Speaker 1: hit this yesterday. We had to hit it today. We
[2:40] Speaker 1: had a very spirited discussion debate leading up into Game
[2:43] Speaker 1: 5 of the Western Conference Finals, but we will discuss
[2:45] Speaker 1: the all NBA teams today. And fresh off a sweep
[2:48] Speaker 1: in the conference finals, the Cavs have some tough decisions
[2:51] Speaker 1: to make this offseason. Should they run it back with
[2:54] Speaker 1: Spider and the beard? Reports are they're leaning in that direction.
[2:58] Speaker 1: Kenny Atkinson also reportedly coming back for his third season.
[3:01] Speaker 1: But before we get into all that, this show is
[3:04] Speaker 1: brought to you by Underdog. Underdog's available in most states,
[3:06] Speaker 1: including Texas, California, and Florida. New customers get $ 50 in

[3:20] Speaker 1: And with the playoffs heating up, Underdog is dropping six 40%
[3:23] Speaker 1: boosts during the conference finals. Boost your lineups all series
[3:26] Speaker 1: long and call your shot on Underdog. You better get
[3:30] Speaker 1: it while the getting's good. This series may not last
[3:32] Speaker 1: much longer, according to some on this couch. But if
[3:35] Speaker 1: you can't watch the show live with us on YouTube,
[3:37] Speaker 1: we got audio versions available on Apple, Spotify, wherever you
[3:40] Speaker 1: get your podcasts. So let's get right to it. Spurs
[3:43] Speaker 1: put together a defensive masterclass in their Game 4 win
[3:46] Speaker 1: over the Thunder in the Western Conference Finals, holding OKC
[3:49] Speaker 1: to season lows of 82 points and 33% shooting, including 18%
[3:53] Speaker 1: from three. In what proved to be the Thunder's worst
[3:56] Speaker 1: game of the season, series shifted back to Oklahoma City
[3:59] Speaker 1: for a pivotal Game 5. So when the Conference Finals
[4:02] Speaker 1: are tied 2-2, The Game 5 winner takes the series 76%
[4:07] Speaker 1: of the time. Thunder once again without Jalen Williams and A.J.
[4:10] Speaker 1: Mitchell as Jared McCain got his first career playoff start.
[4:14] Speaker 1: SGA and the supporting cast understood the test and had
[4:17] Speaker 1: all the answers. Let's take a look at the highlights
[4:19] Speaker 1: if we can, please. Very extensive highlights. So Julian Champagny
[4:23] Speaker 1: was 6 for 31 from 3 through the first four
[4:25] Speaker 1: games of the series. Pace the Spurs scoring 13 of
[4:28] Speaker 1: their first 18 points. including three shots from distance. Chet
[4:32] Speaker 1: Holmgren had eight of the Thunder's first 15 points going
[4:35] Speaker 1: four for four from the field, while Wimby had just
[4:38] Speaker 1: two points in the first frame, attempting one shot, and
[4:41] Speaker 1: SGA was one for five from the field with three turnovers.
[4:45] Speaker 1: The Thunder had seven turnovers in the first quarter alone,
[4:47] Speaker 1: giving up 11 points off of them, but still led
[4:49] Speaker 1: by two heading into the second quarter. OKC caught fire
[4:52] Speaker 1: to start the second frame with SGA on the bench,
[4:55] Speaker 1: going on a 10-3 run to take a nine-point lead.
[4:58] Speaker 1: Thunder led by as much as 10 before the Spurs responded,
[5:01] Speaker 1: going on a 9-0 run of their own to cut
[5:02] Speaker 1: the deficit to one. But Ashea got to cooking to
[5:07] Speaker 1: keep the Thunder in control, scoring 12 points in the
[5:10] Speaker 1: final seven minutes of the half as OKC outscored San
[5:14] Speaker 1: Antonio 40-31 in the second quarter to take an 11-point
[5:17] Speaker 1: lead into the break. 69 first half points, just 13
[5:22] Speaker 1: shy of their total from game four. Thunder kept rolling
[5:24] Speaker 1: in the third quarter. starting the period with a 9-0
[5:27] Speaker 1: run to take a 20-point lead. Wimby gave his squad
[5:31] Speaker 1: an impassioned speech on the bench during the timeout early
[5:33] Speaker 1: in the quarter, and the Spurs tried to rally, cutting
[5:35] Speaker 1: the deficit to eight as various points in the third frame.
[5:39] Speaker 1: But Jerry McCain doing stuff like that. SGA also came
[5:45] Speaker 1: through with five straight free throws late in the quarter
[5:49] Speaker 1: to keep the Thunder lead into double digits.
[5:53] Speaker 4: Oh, no.
[5:54] Speaker 2: Ooh.
[5:56] Speaker 4: You see it in Caruso.
[5:59] Speaker 1: The Caruso, two-time champion, former Los Angeles Laker, also getting
[6:04] Speaker 1: it done as well. So SGA also got a tech,
[6:07] Speaker 1: shot a free throw for a tech on Miss Johnson
[6:09] Speaker 1: after refs didn't allow him to challenge a call. OKC
[6:12] Speaker 1: came through with some timely buckets in the fourth quarter
[6:14] Speaker 1: to neutralize the Spurs' attempt at a comeback. SGA finished
[6:17] Speaker 1: with a game-high 32 points on 7 of 19 shooting.
[6:20] Speaker 1: along with nine assists and six turnovers. Back-to-back MVP attempted
[6:24] Speaker 1: a playoff career high, 17 free throws, missing just one.
[6:27] Speaker 1: Alex Caruso bounced back from a donut in game three
[6:29] Speaker 1: to lead the bench with 22 points, going four for
[6:31] Speaker 1: eight from distance. It was the fourth time in the
[6:33] Speaker 1: last five games Caruso scored at least 15 points. Jerry
[6:36] Speaker 1: McCain had a 20-piece, and Chet Comer had his best
[6:39] Speaker 1: game of the season, our best game of the series,
[6:41] Speaker 1: 16 and 11 boards. Isaiah Harden signed 12 and a
[6:45] Speaker 1: game-high 15 rebounds while shutting down Wimby on the defensive end. Winby,
[6:49] Speaker 1: worst game of the series, 20 points on four of
[6:53] Speaker 1: 15 shooting, 0 for 5 from 3. He was 12
[6:55] Speaker 1: for 12 from the line, but had a negative plus
[6:57] Speaker 1: minus for the first time in the series. Stephon Castle
[7:01] Speaker 1: had a game-high 24, along with six assists and five boards. Champagny,
[7:04] Speaker 1: 22 and 8 boards. Darren Fox, though, 9 points, 8
[7:07] Speaker 1: assists on 4 for 15 shooting. Thunder held San Antonio
[7:10] Speaker 1: to 40% from the field, 29% from distance. OKC, now
[7:15] Speaker 1: one game away from reaching two straight finals for the
[7:18] Speaker 1: first time in franchise history, here was a post-game reaction
[7:22] Speaker 1: from both sides.
[7:23] Speaker 6: The team was huge tonight, obviously. Let me just mention,
[7:27] Speaker 6: Chet was big to start the game. Obviously the bench
[7:30] Speaker 6: group came in, gave great minutes. But yeah, those guys, like,
[7:36] Speaker 6: I always say, like, we're a team out there. Like,
[7:38] Speaker 6: we don't get this far. I don't have this individual success.
[7:42] Speaker 6: This team doesn't have this success without all 15 guys
[7:44] Speaker 6: in the locker room, and we proved this tonight. If
[7:47] Speaker 6: it was full five me's out there, we would have
[7:50] Speaker 6: been down 20 after the first quarter. But the guys
[7:52] Speaker 6: were great to start the game. Yeah, I probably should
[7:57] Speaker 6: never start like that again and give us a better
[7:59] Speaker 6: chance to win a ball game, but the guys held
[8:00] Speaker 6: it down.
[8:01] Speaker 7: It just felt like it was a little bit of
[8:04] Speaker 7: everything in terms of we did not put ourselves in
[8:08] Speaker 7: position enough to be successful in each possession.
[8:13] Speaker 4: And so.
[8:16] Speaker 7: To beat a team of this caliber in their building,
[8:20] Speaker 7: the stakes will need to be a lot better to
[8:23] Speaker 7: give yourself a chance.
[8:25] Speaker 1: Mitch Johnson sounding more and more like Doc Rivers every
[8:28] Speaker 1: single day. As the series progresses with Swaggy, we will
[8:31] Speaker 1: start with you. Honorable, enlightened, you have the glow. What
[8:36] Speaker 1: are your biggest takeaways from the Thunder's Game 5 win
[8:39] Speaker 1: over the Spurs?
[8:40] Speaker 2: Oh.
[8:46] Speaker 3: Well, knowing I got championship experience myself, just came back
[8:52] Speaker 3: from being a part of the Triads, you see it.
[8:57] Speaker 3: I knew this was going to happen. You know, when
[8:59] Speaker 3: you get a championship team back against the wall, they
[9:02] Speaker 3: always respond well. You know, Caruso, the other guys, Chet
[9:08] Speaker 3: took the challenge. Hockenstein was out there rebounding, playing hard,
[9:13] Speaker 3: got a lot of You know, second plays, points for him.
[9:20] Speaker 3: For me, I think Wimby get away with a lot
[9:22] Speaker 3: of things, a lot of calls that could have been
[9:24] Speaker 3: fouled on him.
[9:25] Speaker 2: How many times are you going to say that? Victor Wimbinyama.
[9:28] Speaker 3: Yeah, he's out there just fouling and get away with it. Yeah,
[9:32] Speaker 3: because it's true. I see it. You know, that one
[9:34] Speaker 3: time when Chet, you know, almost dunked on him, Wimby
[9:38] Speaker 3: held his arm the whole play. And that comes because
[9:41] Speaker 3: he's not a part of the game. He went to
[9:43] Speaker 3: the Monks. You should have joined the triads. It's a
[9:46] Speaker 3: different lifestyle.
[9:47] Speaker 4: So you trained with the monks and the triads?
[9:50] Speaker 3: Yeah, I got a little bit of both worlds. And
[9:55] Speaker 3: you know these type of things when you're a winner.
[9:57] Speaker 3: When you won a championship and been in that situation, 2-2,
[10:02] Speaker 3: going back home, take care of business. That's why I
[10:05] Speaker 3: say it's over in six. They did everything they were
[10:08] Speaker 3: supposed to do. McCain not being a part of the
[10:12] Speaker 3: team last year, coming in with big minutes. They're a
[10:18] Speaker 3: stacked team. All 15 guys play well. Except, you know,
[10:21] Speaker 3: Jalen Williams got out of hand a little bit. I
[10:23] Speaker 3: seen a floater from almost three-point line. That was kind
[10:27] Speaker 3: of crazy. But besides that, they play very well. They
[10:29] Speaker 3: respond to well like a championship team.
[10:32] Speaker 1: And shout out to whoever in the chat said, dim some,
[10:35] Speaker 1: lose some. I thought that was particularly well-crafted. But let's
[10:39] Speaker 1: shift over to this side. Mr. B, what are your
[10:43] Speaker 1: biggest takeaways from the Thunder getting that Pivotal game five
[10:46] Speaker 1: win over the Spurs.
[10:48] Speaker 8: It's how bad Wimby played. He had no intensity, no energy.
[10:52] Speaker 8: Harkestine took him out the game early. This was Chet's
[10:56] Speaker 8: best game so far this series, which he came in
[10:58] Speaker 8: and had a double-double.
[11:00] Speaker 4: They started McCain.
[11:01] Speaker 8: He struggled in the first half, but in the second
[11:03] Speaker 8: half he came out hitting shots, which helped him a lot.
[11:08] Speaker 8: Get it twisted, SGA, he is still shooting back poorly
[11:12] Speaker 8: from the field, but He's still finding a way to
[11:14] Speaker 8: get it done with having less superstars on his team.
[11:20] Speaker 8: I mean, the Spurs, I mean, Thunder are 10-0 when
[11:26] Speaker 8: they do lose. So they are proving that they can
[11:29] Speaker 8: bounce back. They are showing that. And I think this
[11:33] Speaker 8: is over with. I think the Spurs are done. Wimby,
[11:35] Speaker 8: he's not consistent enough. And he just, you know, he
[11:39] Speaker 8: likes to settle. He likes to settle. And they went
[11:41] Speaker 8: away from what they did in game four. So I
[11:43] Speaker 8: don't know what they were doing. I mean, whatever they
[11:46] Speaker 8: did in game four, they definitely didn't bring it.
[11:47] Speaker 4: To game five.
[11:48] Speaker 8: And it definitely showed all night. So I think this
[11:51] Speaker 8: is over in six, like Nick said, and we can
[11:53] Speaker 8: move on.
[11:55] Speaker 3: I wasn't allowed in the building. No KC.
[12:01] Speaker 4: Let's shift over to you, Dr. McCants, Ph.D.
[12:04] Speaker 1: You've been rolling with the Spurs, rolling with Wimby, also
[12:07] Speaker 1: known as Wamba Wamba here in Gills Arena. What are
[12:10] Speaker 1: your biggest takeaways from the Spurs losing that game five,
[12:14] Speaker 1: now down 3-2 as they head back home for game six?
[12:19] Speaker 2: It's crazy. Nick, you got some type of influence to
[12:24] Speaker 2: create a character and come on the show in a
[12:26] Speaker 2: different outfit. I wonder where you got that from. But
[12:30] Speaker 2: it's cool. We didn't play well. It's not a wimpy thing.
[12:38] Speaker 2: It's a team thing. Particularly knowing that you're going on
[12:44] Speaker 2: the road and against all odds, back against the wall.
[12:49] Speaker 2: You got to play the perfect game. Everybody's against you.
[12:53] Speaker 2: A couple things that are glaring is second chance points.
[13:01] Speaker 2: Got to box out. Got to finish the play. With
[13:04] Speaker 2: a young team like this, they just got to understand
[13:08] Speaker 2: that every possession means something. They play fast because they
[13:11] Speaker 2: like to play in transition. They like to get quick baskets,
[13:14] Speaker 2: get downhill. But this is deep into the playoffs where
[13:19] Speaker 2: that can create turnovers. And that's what happened in the
[13:21] Speaker 2: first two games. And I think slowing it down in
[13:25] Speaker 2: game three and game four allowed them to adjust better.
[13:29] Speaker 2: But right now, as far as understanding the hoop talk,
[13:35] Speaker 2: You have to understand the power of your star and
[13:40] Speaker 2: your role players effectively. And I think they got away
[13:43] Speaker 2: from that, understanding that they need to slow the game
[13:46] Speaker 2: down and take every possession to heart and every defensive
[13:51] Speaker 2: possession to heart. And when you don't do that, you
[13:55] Speaker 2: end up falling behind early. You end up digging yourself
[13:58] Speaker 2: a hole. This is a team that's never been in
[14:02] Speaker 2: this position before, so mentally they're going through some fatigue
[14:06] Speaker 2: of knowing that unethical basketball can take a toll on
[14:11] Speaker 2: you when you're playing unethical basketball. When you're out there,
[14:17] Speaker 2: you're out there, you're trying to figure it out, trying
[14:19] Speaker 2: to figure out how to maneuver around certain elements of
[14:24] Speaker 2: the game. You can't blame nobody. You have to always
[14:27] Speaker 2: take accountability. So I see Wimby taking accountability in the huddle.
[14:33] Speaker 2: He came out invigorated in the second half because I
[14:36] Speaker 2: think he was a little bit down on knowing what
[14:39] Speaker 2: he was dealing with in the first half, not playing well.
[14:43] Speaker 2: But I think, you know, you rally back. When we're down,
[14:45] Speaker 2: we take our L's. We take our L's and we
[14:48] Speaker 2: go on to the next game knowing that we have
[14:51] Speaker 2: to take care of home. And when you go home
[14:55] Speaker 2: and you take care of home, you don't make no complaints. 3-2.
[15:00] Speaker 2: We knew this was going to be it. That's why
[15:02] Speaker 2: we never said that we was going to predict no
[15:04] Speaker 2: game five win, no game six win. We want to
[15:06] Speaker 2: go seven. So right now, you know, we're not going
[15:10] Speaker 2: to be like the masses. We're not going to be
[15:12] Speaker 2: like everybody else and just take, give predictable takes. We're
[15:17] Speaker 2: going to take our L. We're going to go back
[15:18] Speaker 2: to the drawing board and we're going to figure out
[15:20] Speaker 2: what actually is going to work for us this time around.
[15:23] Speaker 2: Caruso hit shots. McCain hit shots. Those same shots came
[15:28] Speaker 2: from the same game plan that we Assessed in game four.
[15:31] Speaker 2: We took away SGA. He was 0 for 8 at
[15:33] Speaker 2: one point. We really made him struggle. Everybody else showed up.
[15:38] Speaker 2: You got to understand something about hoops. Wimby's struggles don't
[15:42] Speaker 2: come from him not being that guy. His struggles come
[15:47] Speaker 2: from a good team making adjustments defensively as they should.
[15:51] Speaker 2: So when you see Wimby struggling, he shouldn't be getting
[15:54] Speaker 2: to the same spots he was getting to when he
[15:56] Speaker 2: had 41. He shouldn't be doing the same things and
[15:59] Speaker 2: getting to the rim and getting lobs like he was before.
[16:02] Speaker 2: Because as an adjustment for a good team like OKC,
[16:06] Speaker 2: you take that away from him. You crack down. You
[16:08] Speaker 2: make sure he doesn't get the lob threat. We make
[16:11] Speaker 2: those guys on the backside shoot threes. We depend on
[16:14] Speaker 2: them making their missing shots. And that's what they did.
[16:17] Speaker 2: We didn't make shots. They capitalized on the other hand.
[16:20] Speaker 2: Both Williams kids came in. They hit shots. I love
[16:24] Speaker 2: what McCain did as far as off the dribble. He's
[16:27] Speaker 2: more crafty than people give him credit for. And when
[16:31] Speaker 2: you know the game, the way that both teams know
[16:36] Speaker 2: the game, it's.
[16:37] Speaker 3: A chess match.
[16:37] Speaker 2: And that's why I think it's going to be a
[16:39] Speaker 2: good series. It's a good series based on knowing that
[16:42] Speaker 2: every game is going to be different. So you can't
[16:45] Speaker 2: go into it thinking, oh, man, win be this, oh,
[16:47] Speaker 2: SGA that. I'm not going to say that at all
[16:49] Speaker 2: because SGA didn't play the greatest game, found a way
[16:52] Speaker 2: to win. Wimby didn't play the greatest game. He found
[16:56] Speaker 2: a way to still go out there and compete. So
[16:58] Speaker 2: at the end of the day, you know, you got
[17:00] Speaker 2: to tip your hat off to him. Good game. We
[17:03] Speaker 2: got the next one.
[17:04] Speaker 1: So Thunder, 6 for 33 from 3 in game 4.
[17:07] Speaker 1: 14 for 32 from 3 in.
[17:11] Speaker 2: Game 5.
[17:12] Speaker 8: It didn't show up. Role players stepping up. It didn't
[17:17] Speaker 8: look like the MVP. It didn't look like the best
[17:19] Speaker 8: player in the league to me. Not the Wimby people.
[17:22] Speaker 8: I'm messing up, yelling at people. So you're rocking the
[17:26] Speaker 8: thunder hat in support.
[17:27] Speaker 2: You guys can no longer trigger me. I'm untriggerable.
[17:31] Speaker 4: We're just saying facts. You look like a pussy to me.
[17:36] Speaker 9: I haven't spoken yet, so we'll see how you react.
[17:40] Speaker 2: No, I have no reaction.
[17:41] Speaker 3: You can't make me react, man.
[17:44] Speaker 2: Well, that was easy.
[17:44] Speaker 3: That was easy.
[17:49] Speaker 2: That was easy.
[17:53] Speaker 9: So Steven Spielberg has a new alien movie coming out
[17:58] Speaker 9: soon it's called Disclosure Day and last night was Disclosure
[18:04] Speaker 9: Night it was a turning point game five Spurs coming
[18:10] Speaker 9: in with all the momentum the money was pouring in
[18:13] Speaker 9: as the spread fell and fell and fell in favor
[18:16] Speaker 9: of the Spurs and On this night, the alien proved
[18:23] Speaker 9: to be a hoax on both ends of the floor.
[18:28] Speaker 9: That was the key. On both ends of the floor,
[18:30] Speaker 9: the alien was a hoax. The alien looked like just
[18:33] Speaker 9: another Earthling last night in a Turning Point Game 5.
[18:38] Speaker 9: The alien looked bad during the game, late in the game.
[18:43] Speaker 9: And especially after the game when he ducked the media.
[18:48] Speaker 9: That was not taking accountability at all. That was just
[18:53] Speaker 9: straight out baby behavior to me.
[18:57] Speaker 4: Hard to duck the media when you're 7'5.
[18:58] Speaker 2: Yeah, it is.
[19:00] Speaker 9: Good point.
[19:01] Speaker 4: We'll see you leaving.
[19:02] Speaker 9: And it sure looked to me like late in the
[19:05] Speaker 9: game when he did get pulled with 2.13 left. And
[19:08] Speaker 9: I'm surprised the Spurs coach waved the flag that early
[19:12] Speaker 9: in that game. But he did pull Wimby with 2.13 left,
[19:15] Speaker 9: and as Wimby left the floor, it looked to me
[19:18] Speaker 9: like he leaned over and whispered, to a couple of
[19:21] Speaker 9: his bench goons to go in and take their pound
[19:25] Speaker 9: of flesh and go get somebody, and it looked like
[19:28] Speaker 9: they were trying to get Jared McCain. That's the way
[19:30] Speaker 9: it looked to me.
[19:31] Speaker 1: Always the kid with the painted nail.
[19:33] Speaker 2: Creating a narrative. Creating a narrative. Creating a narrative.
[19:36] Speaker 4: Uh-oh.
[19:36] Speaker 2: Objection. Objection. Objection. That's not what we're saying.
[19:39] Speaker 4: Objection.
[19:44] Speaker 2: Objection. Objection. That's not what was said. Objection. Objection. That
[19:52] Speaker 2: is not what was said. Can he cook? You wasn't
[19:55] Speaker 2: reading lips, Skip. Don't put words in his mouth, Skip.
[19:59] Speaker 9: Go get somebody.
[20:01] Speaker 2: What's going on, Skip?
[20:02] Speaker 9: Go get somebody.
[20:03] Speaker 3: What's going on?
[20:04] Speaker 2: That's what I heard, too.
[20:05] Speaker 1: Yeah.
[20:06] Speaker 9: Jared McCain said as he went to the free throw
[20:08] Speaker 9: line after he got hammered, He turned to Biambo and said,
[20:12] Speaker 9: what are you doing, man? And Biambo said back to him,
[20:15] Speaker 9: and I got another one for you, because the hit
[20:18] Speaker 9: had been put out by the leader of the team,
[20:21] Speaker 9: who then ducked the media after the game.
[20:24] Speaker 3: Man.
[20:25] Speaker 9: And the Oklahoma City Thunder, playing without its second and
[20:30] Speaker 9: third best creator score.
[20:32] Speaker 2: Oh, man.
[20:35] Speaker 9: Managed to go from scoring 82 points in game four
[20:39] Speaker 9: to 127 points in game five. That's a 45-point improvement
[20:46] Speaker 9: from four to five against the greatest defensive player ever.
[20:52] Speaker 9: How could that be? With Victor Wimbanyama as the primary
[20:57] Speaker 9: defender last night, the Thunder made 11 of 16 shots.
[21:02] Speaker 9: He looked lost on defense, the defensive player of the
[21:05] Speaker 9: year did.
[21:06] Speaker 4: He looked lost.
[21:07] Speaker 9: 11 of 16 shots on the greatest defensive player we've
[21:12] Speaker 9: ever seen, the alien? And by the way, Isaiah Hardenstein...
[21:19] Speaker 9: held Wimby on the other end of the floor to
[21:22] Speaker 9: three for 11?
[21:23] Speaker 4: Wow.
[21:24] Speaker 9: Three for 11. He went overall, as Josiah pointed out,
[21:29] Speaker 9: four of 15. He went O of five from three.
[21:31] Speaker 9: And as Brandon pointed out, he mostly played two guard
[21:35] Speaker 9: all night because in his mind, when he looks in
[21:37] Speaker 9: the mirror, that's who he sees as a two guard.
[21:41] Speaker 9: And would you believe that in the first half, the
[21:44] Speaker 9: alien had one total rebound in the first half of
[21:47] Speaker 9: the pivotal game five? And that was the second time
[21:51] Speaker 9: in this series he's played an entire half with one rebound.
[21:55] Speaker 3: One rebound.
[21:56] Speaker 9: That's impossibly wrong for the alien who's seven foot six.
[22:01] Speaker 9: He got six total rebounds. He should get six before
[22:05] Speaker 9: tip off just because of his length. I watched Isaiah
[22:11] Speaker 9: Hartenstein out physical Wimby, out mental Wimby, out Will Wimby,
[22:18] Speaker 9: just flat out. out hustle Wimby. I mean, I didn't see,
[22:25] Speaker 9: as Brandon pointed out, did you see any energy? Did
[22:27] Speaker 9: you see any urgency? Did you see any fire and desire?
[22:31] Speaker 9: Because I saw next to none because I saw Hartenstein
[22:35] Speaker 9: have 15 rebounds. He got six of them on the
[22:38] Speaker 9: offensive end. And they were psychological killers, man. All of
[22:42] Speaker 9: a sudden, Thunder missed a shot, missed another shot. And
[22:46] Speaker 9: I heart goes and I hearts it out of the air.
[22:48] Speaker 9: And you say, Oh, we got a new clock. Let's
[22:50] Speaker 9: start over. We'll get one now. And Jared McCain makes
[22:53] Speaker 9: a three. And I don't know that I've ever heard
[22:57] Speaker 9: his name brought up on any sort of national TV forum, but,
[23:02] Speaker 9: but the coach of the thunder, his name is Mark Dagnall.
[23:05] Speaker 9: Most people don't know it, but I, I gotta tell you, he,
[23:09] Speaker 9: he's looking to me like the best coach, especially playoff
[23:14] Speaker 9: coach in all of basketball. This is Mark Dagnall.
[23:20] Speaker 4: Who never hooped.
[23:21] Speaker 9: He never played basketball. He was a ball boy at UConn.
[23:26] Speaker 9: That guy is looking like the best coach in the NBA.
[23:31] Speaker 9: the best big-game playoff coach because he pushes all the
[23:35] Speaker 9: right buttons. He is just subbing and subbing and subbing constantly.
[23:39] Speaker 9: He just keeps blowing bubbles and making subs, and they
[23:42] Speaker 9: all click. And I got to tell you, after Jared
[23:46] Speaker 9: McCain's first half last night, he went 1 of 5,
[23:50] Speaker 9: and that made him 2 of 15 over the previous
[23:53] Speaker 9: six quarters, counting the Game 4 debacle at San Antonio.
[23:58] Speaker 4: 2 of 15.
[23:58] Speaker 9: If I'm the coach... I'm putting him on the end
[24:02] Speaker 9: of the bench in the second half. I'm putting Isaiah
[24:04] Speaker 9: Joe in or somebody who can shoot. And Dagnall said, no,
[24:08] Speaker 9: I'm going to stick with this guy. He's hot, he's cold,
[24:10] Speaker 9: he's hot, he's cold.
[24:11] Speaker 2: And guess what?
[24:12] Speaker 4: He went hot.
[24:13] Speaker 9: And he scored 18 in the second half?
[24:16] Speaker 2: That was.
[24:18] Speaker 9: Dagnall just keeps blowing bubbles and playing chess and beating
[24:22] Speaker 9: the Spurs coach at the game of chess that you
[24:25] Speaker 9: referred to. That is going on. And I got to
[24:28] Speaker 9: make a case... for the Caruso. Everywhere he goes, good
[24:34] Speaker 9: stuff happens. And once upon a time, he was undrafted.
[24:38] Speaker 9: And I can make a case that even though he
[24:41] Speaker 9: goose-egged in game four, I can make a case that
[24:46] Speaker 9: right now, and we still got a long way to go,
[24:48] Speaker 9: but right now, he's the MVP of the conference finals.
[24:52] Speaker 9: I can make that case because I'm looking at what
[24:55] Speaker 9: he keeps doing. it look at him he he's a
[24:59] Speaker 9: plus 45 when he's on the floor they're a minus
[25:03] Speaker 9: 36 with him off the floor so every time that
[25:06] Speaker 9: button gets pushed not good stuff great stuff happens he
[25:10] Speaker 9: saved the game in the first quarter he ignited the
[25:13] Speaker 9: game in the second quarter he saved it in the
[25:15] Speaker 9: third and fourth he just keeps making plays and The MVP,
[25:22] Speaker 9: the back-to-back MVP, as you correctly refer to, he's played
[25:26] Speaker 9: by his standards poorly. The whole series he's played poorly.
[25:29] Speaker 4: Shooting. Yeah, shooting.
[25:31] Speaker 9: But last night, guess what? He did get the calls
[25:35] Speaker 9: he deserved last night. That's what happened. And he got
[25:38] Speaker 9: to the free throw line, and he made 16 of 17.
[25:41] Speaker 9: So that was his contribution. He went to the line,
[25:44] Speaker 9: and he cashed at the line.
[25:46] Speaker 2: Say it again. Yeah. Say it again.
[25:48] Speaker 4: He got the what? He got the what? He got
[25:50] Speaker 4: the what?
[25:50] Speaker 2: He got the what? He got the what? He got
[25:52] Speaker 2: the what?
[25:53] Speaker 5: He got the what? You got any rebuttals?
[26:08] Speaker 4: Yes, I do.
[26:09] Speaker 10: Okay It just seems like.
[26:35] Speaker 2: You know, breaking down the game, right? It's not a
[26:39] Speaker 2: Wimby assessment. I don't think everybody should go on the
[26:41] Speaker 2: whole Wimby assessment.
[26:43] Speaker 3: It is.
[26:43] Speaker 2: Because I never do. Talk about the Spurs. Just so
[26:47] Speaker 2: happens when he plays well, they play well. When he
[26:49] Speaker 2: plays bad, they play bad. You know, that's why the
[26:52] Speaker 2: series is 3-2, you know. At that one point, there's
[26:56] Speaker 2: times where he plays spectacularly. You just said your MVP
[27:00] Speaker 2: hasn't played great at all.
[27:01] Speaker 9: He has not.
[27:02] Speaker 2: So, damn, are we not allowed to have a bad game?
[27:05] Speaker 2: But he's allowed to have four bad games.
[27:09] Speaker 9: Four average games.
[27:10] Speaker 2: Four average games. But then he got the calls he deserved.
[27:13] Speaker 9: Finally.
[27:13] Speaker 4: He did, finally.
[27:16] Speaker 2: You know who else played last night? Tony Brothers.
[27:21] Speaker 4: Scott Foster played the night before.
[27:23] Speaker 2: And the crew. Tony others, yeah. You know what I'm saying?
[27:26] Speaker 2: So it's like, we don't bring Tony up unless we
[27:29] Speaker 2: have to. During a rebuttal.
[27:32] Speaker 3: Is that an excuse? Like you said, we don't do excuses,
[27:34] Speaker 3: I thought.
[27:34] Speaker 2: Is that an echo?
[27:36] Speaker 3: Excuses? You hear that echo? You find no excuses over there?
[27:39] Speaker 3: You find some over there?
[27:41] Speaker 4: So yeah, I mean, at the end of the day,
[27:43] Speaker 4: at the end of the day, I.
[27:45] Speaker 2: Mean, we can say Caruso played great here, great there.
[27:49] Speaker 2: You didn't say that shit. That's your last game. He
[27:52] Speaker 2: played great last game, but he's MVP when he plays well.
[27:57] Speaker 3: It's all good, man.
[27:58] Speaker 2: There's nothing going to unalive you guys from yesterday's episode.
[28:01] Speaker 4: Thank you for saying unalive to hear the YouTube politics.
[28:04] Speaker 2: Right, yeah. You're going to be there. You're there. You're
[28:08] Speaker 2: going to stay there. No matter how much you feel
[28:10] Speaker 2: like you should rise yourself from the graves.
[28:15] Speaker 4: You're not.
[28:16] Speaker 2: Right? Even if we, even if.
[28:18] Speaker 3: You didn't have coffee.
[28:19] Speaker 2: Even if. Even if we don't go, we still did
[28:25] Speaker 2: what we had to do. And we got games left.
[28:29] Speaker 4: It's not over.
[28:31] Speaker 2: Just like you predicted last night was supposed to be
[28:34] Speaker 2: a Spurs win.
[28:36] Speaker 9: It was supposed to be.
[28:37] Speaker 2: Should have been. Now you're here celebrating, right? Because it
[28:42] Speaker 2: went your way. Because we're a game-by-game analysis, and we
[28:46] Speaker 2: don't really want to go through the whole series.
[28:49] Speaker 4: That's why I said seven.
[28:50] Speaker 2: I didn't say six or say five because that would
[28:52] Speaker 2: give you an advantage. Not going to give you an advantage.
[28:56] Speaker 2: Anybody in that seat don't get no advantages. You should
[28:58] Speaker 2: have called the last guy and asked him what happened
[29:02] Speaker 2: to the last security guard. Top flight. Top flight. Ain't
[29:07] Speaker 2: no changing. So, a question for you, Sean.
[29:09] Speaker 1: Wimby, third in MVP voting, first unanimous defensive player of
[29:12] Speaker 1: the year in NBA history.
[29:13] Speaker 4: You don't even know what happened.
[29:15] Speaker 2: To the last kid.
[29:18] Speaker 1: Would you say he's the best player? You've already said
[29:19] Speaker 1: he's the best player in the league, but best player
[29:20] Speaker 1: on the Spurs team? Well, sure, the best player on
[29:23] Speaker 1: the Spurs team.
[29:23] Speaker 4: Okay.
[29:24] Speaker 1: So, had his worst game of the series Tuesday. Scored
[29:27] Speaker 1: just two points first quarter. Took just six shots in
[29:29] Speaker 1: the first half. Scoring the bulk of his points at
[29:32] Speaker 1: the free throw line. So, in both of the Spurs
[29:34] Speaker 1: wins in this series, Wimby had double digit first half
[29:37] Speaker 1: shot attempts, took 22 or more shots in those games,
[29:40] Speaker 1: but he's taken six or fewer attempts in the first
[29:42] Speaker 1: half in each of the three losses with 16 or
[29:45] Speaker 1: fewer attempts in those games. So Wimby has previously said
[29:48] Speaker 1: he needs to be more of a team player, but
[29:51] Speaker 1: obviously the team plays better When he's more aggressive offensively
[29:54] Speaker 1: after the game last night, Mitch Johnson echoed those statements
[29:56] Speaker 1: that he needed to shoot more. The Spurs will not
[29:59] Speaker 1: be able to get it done when we'll be scoring
[30:00] Speaker 1: 20 points. So how much blame does when we deserve
[30:03] Speaker 1: for the Spurs three losses in this series?
[30:06] Speaker 2: I've seen somebody's take. Gil posted his take on this
[30:10] Speaker 2: particular scenario. I'm going to steal his take since he's
[30:13] Speaker 2: not here. Literally, when they play good, they play through Wimby.
[30:19] Speaker 2: When they play bad, they play guard-centric basketball where they
[30:22] Speaker 2: go away from Wimby. And last night you've seen that
[30:27] Speaker 2: they were playing more on the perimeter than they used to.
[30:30] Speaker 2: And for Wimby, trying to be the decoy is not
[30:33] Speaker 2: going to be his expertise when he's on the floor
[30:36] Speaker 2: trying to be the team player that he sees in
[30:38] Speaker 2: his mind, which is allowing the other guys to be involved.
[30:42] Speaker 2: And for him to inject himself in a position to
[30:46] Speaker 2: be more dominant, he hasn't gotten there yet. to be
[30:49] Speaker 2: the guy that's saying, give me the ball, give me
[30:51] Speaker 2: the ball, go through me. He's still a very team-first
[30:55] Speaker 2: oriented guy. And I think even his statements of saying
[30:58] Speaker 2: he needs to be more of a team player came
[31:00] Speaker 2: from helping on defense more and stop being more selfish
[31:04] Speaker 2: on trying to get the block and get back to
[31:07] Speaker 2: the rotation, giving Caruso all those shots in game three.
[31:12] Speaker 2: So now you're looking at offensively, okay, look, We got
[31:17] Speaker 2: to figure it out because he's taken a lot of
[31:18] Speaker 2: bad shots in that last game. And it comes from
[31:22] Speaker 2: him forcing it. Talking about a guy who's trying to
[31:25] Speaker 2: make it happen. All of those guys are trying to
[31:27] Speaker 2: drive and make things happen. But you got other guards
[31:30] Speaker 2: out there that can actually get to the hole and
[31:33] Speaker 2: get easy buckets. But you got to give OKC credit.
[31:37] Speaker 2: They do play defense still traditionally where you can rotate,
[31:42] Speaker 2: get to the spots, make them drive and kick. They're
[31:44] Speaker 2: not a bad defensive team. They're one of the best,
[31:46] Speaker 2: if not the best.
[31:49] Speaker 9: They do give up a lot of open threes, but
[31:51] Speaker 9: you got to make them.
[31:52] Speaker 2: You got to make them, and we didn't hit. That's
[31:54] Speaker 2: what Castle said in his press conference. Aside from defense
[31:58] Speaker 2: and fouls and the pressure that OKC put on them,
[32:02] Speaker 2: we got to hit open shots because that's what OKC
[32:05] Speaker 2: forced last night. We're taking Wimby away from easy buckets
[32:09] Speaker 2: in the paint, which is going to leave three-point shooters open.
[32:14] Speaker 2: That's four players down stopping Wimby from the lob threat.
[32:17] Speaker 2: And then you got Fasell, Johnson, and all these guys
[32:20] Speaker 2: missing shots. And it wasn't a big disparity when you
[32:23] Speaker 2: look at the stats from three-point. There they are. Castle
[32:28] Speaker 2: played well. He's not well enough, but it was Fox, too.
[32:33] Speaker 2: Fox had nine points. Harper didn't play well.
[32:36] Speaker 3: If you get physical with Wimby, it's about the game.
[32:38] Speaker 4: He's done.
[32:39] Speaker 3: And you could say he wasn't being aggressive. He was
[32:43] Speaker 3: trying to. They were just being physical. No, for sure.
[32:45] Speaker 2: Same thing.
[32:46] Speaker 3: Castle was doing the shake. Yeah, that's what I was
[32:48] Speaker 3: about to say. That's what OKC said.
[32:50] Speaker 2: Do what they do. Be aggressive. Be aggressive. That's the
[32:53] Speaker 2: same thing they did when they beat them at Arkansas
[32:55] Speaker 2: and doing that other shit. But for Wimby... But Wimby's
[32:57] Speaker 2: showing to get frustrated.
[32:59] Speaker 4: Come on, he did.
[33:00] Speaker 3: It's frustration.
[33:00] Speaker 4: That's all you got to do. Frustration.
[33:02] Speaker 3: Elbow somebody off of that.
[33:03] Speaker 4: Yeah.
[33:03] Speaker 2: He yelled at his team.
[33:05] Speaker 4: Yesterday, like it was Dave's fault. He yelled at his team?
[33:07] Speaker 2: He was yelling.
[33:07] Speaker 4: That's what he was doing.
[33:08] Speaker 1: He gave a compassionate speech during our time out. That's
[33:10] Speaker 1: what he was doing.
[33:10] Speaker 3: But at the point, he had nine points and some shit.
[33:13] Speaker 2: Was he yelling at his team? He was yelling at
[33:14] Speaker 2: his team. Like it was Dave's fault, though. He was
[33:16] Speaker 2: yelling at his team like it was Dave's fault.
[33:19] Speaker 3: Like it was Dave's fault.
[33:20] Speaker 2: Come on, man.
[33:20] Speaker 3: When you the star and you got to step up.
[33:22] Speaker 4: Yes.
[33:23] Speaker 2: So what are you talking about?
[33:24] Speaker 3: You know what I'm talking about. Why are you blaming
[33:26] Speaker 3: others when you're the one that's messing up?
[33:28] Speaker 2: Okay, what does the leader do in the huddle, bro?
[33:31] Speaker 2: What are you talking about? Take accountability.
[33:33] Speaker 3: That's what leaders do.
[33:34] Speaker 2: So who else is going to be talking to the
[33:36] Speaker 2: team then?
[33:37] Speaker 5: What are you talking about?
[33:38] Speaker 3: You're telling them to do something that you're not doing.
[33:39] Speaker 2: What are you talking about? You should be talking about yourself.
[33:42] Speaker 2: So who should be talking in the huddle, Nick?
[33:44] Speaker 4: NBA champion Luke Cornett.
[33:47] Speaker 2: Okay, thank you very much. Okay, look. Harrison Barnes.
[33:50] Speaker 4: Harrison Barnes should be talking.
[33:51] Speaker 3: Okay, so what was– That's who should be talking.
[33:52] Speaker 2: So you didn't say that about Donovan Mitchell. He was
[33:54] Speaker 2: yelling at his team?
[33:56] Speaker 3: He stepped up.
[33:57] Speaker 2: He stepped up to do what? They got swept.
[34:00] Speaker 4: But it's James.
[34:00] Speaker 2: What are you talking about? So why wasn't James doing it?
[34:04] Speaker 4: Donovan Mitchell is the leader of that team.
[34:05] Speaker 3: Man, stop it.
[34:06] Speaker 4: Donovan Mitchell is the leader.
[34:07] Speaker 3: Of that team.
[34:07] Speaker 2: Y'all doing too much right now.
[34:08] Speaker 4: No, you're doing too much.
[34:09] Speaker 2: Donovan Mitchell is the leader of that team. Wimby was
[34:11] Speaker 2: trying to encourage his team to play harder.
[34:12] Speaker 4: How?
[34:12] Speaker 2: You're not even playing hard.
[34:13] Speaker 4: Yes, he was playing hard. You're not even playing hard.
[34:15] Speaker 4: You're not even playing hard.
[34:16] Speaker 2: You're not even playing hard. You're not even playing hard.
[34:18] Speaker 4: You're not even playing hard.
[34:19] Speaker 2: You're not even playing hard.
[34:19] Speaker 8: You're not even playing hard. You're not even playing hard.
[34:21] Speaker 8: You're not even playing hard. You're not even playing hard.
[34:22] Speaker 2: Are y'all done?
[34:23] Speaker 4: No, are you done? Are you done?
[34:25] Speaker 2: Your player's getting punked.
[34:26] Speaker 4: He didn't look like the MVP yesterday.
[34:27] Speaker 2: Who's your player? Who's your player?
[34:28] Speaker 4: Your player didn't look like the MVP yesterday.
[34:30] Speaker 2: Where your player's at? Your player didn't look like the
[34:32] Speaker 2: MVP yesterday. Where your player's at.
[34:33] Speaker 4: Where was your players at?
[34:34] Speaker 2: Your players in Cancun. Your players in Cancun. My players
[34:37] Speaker 2: are still playing. My players are still playing. Your players
[34:39] Speaker 2: are in Cancun. We still got another game. We got
[34:40] Speaker 2: another game. Watch out. We got another game.
[34:54] Speaker 4: The French come out.
[34:55] Speaker 2: We got another game. They want no action. They want
[34:58] Speaker 2: no action last night.
[34:59] Speaker 4: Okay? No energy.
[35:00] Speaker 2: Quit. Are we done?
[35:01] Speaker 4: Telling your teammates, go.
[35:02] Speaker 2: Are we done with the gas lighting? What's up, bro?
[35:05] Speaker 2: What's up? Is it obvious?
[35:07] Speaker 3: What's up? Excuse me. Behave, man. Behave.
[35:10] Speaker 4: Behave.
[35:10] Speaker 2: Did he tell Biz Pac importantly to go attack Jerry McCain?
[35:13] Speaker 2: Come on, man.
[35:14] Speaker 3: He get to it. How you leave the game and
[35:16] Speaker 3: not talk to nobody?
[35:17] Speaker 2: I could get this type of shit from Chad G.
[35:18] Speaker 2: Imagine if Shay left after that in game four.
[35:21] Speaker 8: Yeah, Shay always coming back after a lose.
[35:24] Speaker 2: Imagine if Shay left after game four.
[35:26] Speaker 3: Yeah, and then not talk to nobody. I mean, but
[35:28] Speaker 3: I told y'all what it was.
[35:29] Speaker 2: They would kill him?
[35:30] Speaker 4: I told y'all what it was.
[35:31] Speaker 2: Bro, get the fuck out of here with that. You
[35:33] Speaker 2: know who did that before?
[35:34] Speaker 4: They're 9-0 off a loss in the playoffs.
[35:35] Speaker 2: LeBron James.
[35:37] Speaker 4: They're 9-0. Arguably the greatest player in NBA history.
[35:39] Speaker 2: Come on, man. Y'all stop with the dunking. They're 9-0
[35:41] Speaker 2: after losses. Come on.
[35:42] Speaker 8: I said it in game four. I said it in
[35:44] Speaker 8: game four. They missed shots. Caruso is the X Factor
[35:47] Speaker 8: in this whole thing.
[35:47] Speaker 2: I get it.
[35:47] Speaker 4: It's a popular take. He went zero.
[35:49] Speaker 2: Use the popular take.
[35:50] Speaker 4: I'm telling you. No.
[35:50] Speaker 2: That's just like watching the box four out of the game.
[35:52] Speaker 4: It is what it is.
[35:53] Speaker 2: I'm going to talk about what I see.
[35:54] Speaker 3: In the box four.
[35:54] Speaker 4: It is what it is.
[35:55] Speaker 2: Your leader left.
[35:55] Speaker 4: It is what it is. Your leader left. Your leader left.
[35:58] Speaker 4: He was crying.
[35:59] Speaker 3: Yeah.
[35:59] Speaker 2: He didn't want to go.
[36:00] Speaker 4: He left and got on.
[36:01] Speaker 2: The bus and started crying.
[36:02] Speaker 4: No reports of him being crying. Bro, you got another game.
[36:04] Speaker 4: Game six is coming up.
[36:05] Speaker 2: We got another game. You know, it's okay. We got
[36:06] Speaker 2: another game. You ain't got to go crying on the bus.
[36:09] Speaker 4: We got another game.
[36:10] Speaker 2: We got another game.
[36:10] Speaker 4: You know he going to cry. Mr. B, how much
[36:12] Speaker 4: blame does Wimmy deserve? All of it. Pfft. All of it.
[36:16] Speaker 4: All of it. All of it.
[36:17] Speaker 3: Not 99.
[36:17] Speaker 4: All of it.
[36:18] Speaker 2: Not 99.
[36:19] Speaker 4: That dirty play.
[36:20] Speaker 2: That he told everything.
[36:21] Speaker 3: Just like the deepest player of the year was unanimous.
[36:24] Speaker 2: He deserved all of it. You're being disingenuous.
[36:26] Speaker 4: No, all of it.
[36:27] Speaker 2: Remember he's the best player on the court. He's the
[36:30] Speaker 2: best player in the league. All that.
[36:31] Speaker 4: You don't want to face. No, watch out, bro.
[36:33] Speaker 8: Because if that was Brian or somebody.
[36:34] Speaker 4: Y'all be cooking Brian.
[36:35] Speaker 2: It was Brian. Y'all be cooking all that.
[36:38] Speaker 4: So get on him.
[36:38] Speaker 2: It was Brian.
[36:39] Speaker 4: And that's why they're going to lose this series.
[36:42] Speaker 3: I'm broke back up.
[36:43] Speaker 2: It was.
[36:44] Speaker 4: Come on. S.J. would never do nothing like that. S.J.
[36:49] Speaker 2: Would never do nothing like that.
[36:50] Speaker 4: No, never.
[36:51] Speaker 2: Never.
[36:51] Speaker 4: After a loss, I'm coming.
[36:52] Speaker 3: Man, he's Canadian.
[36:53] Speaker 4: Still coming looking like R. Kelly.
[36:56] Speaker 3: They supposed to be soft.
[36:57] Speaker 4: For their friend.
[36:58] Speaker 2: They supposed to be soft around. Y'all reaching. Skip, let's
[37:02] Speaker 2: shift over to you. Reach for each other. Reach for
[37:03] Speaker 2: each other.
[37:05] Speaker 1: You've been around a lot of basketball. Obviously, born in
[37:08] Speaker 1: Oklahoma City. Spent your formidable years there.
[37:11] Speaker 2: Yep.
[37:11] Speaker 1: Before becoming a Spurs fan, then coming back, like the
[37:14] Speaker 1: prodigal son, how much blame does Wimby deserve for the
[37:17] Speaker 1: Spurs three losses in the series?
[37:22] Speaker 9: Well, I can only deal with this one. And he
[37:25] Speaker 9: did deserve the bulk of the blame for last night.
[37:29] Speaker 9: And that's tangibly and intangibly. Because it started in the
[37:34] Speaker 9: first quarter. There was a timeout called, and as he
[37:38] Speaker 9: walked off the floor, he went out of his way
[37:40] Speaker 9: to go over and... Graham Chet.
[37:43] Speaker 4: Yes.
[37:43] Speaker 9: Because he doesn't like Chet. I got that, and I
[37:47] Speaker 9: respect that. And too often, Chet has just shrunk in
[37:52] Speaker 9: the presence of Wim and Yama. But what did Chet
[37:56] Speaker 9: do in response to that last night? He made all
[37:59] Speaker 9: four of his shots in the first quarter, and trust me,
[38:02] Speaker 9: because I'm rooting my ass off for the Thunder, they
[38:05] Speaker 9: were all huge because... The Spurs jumped out 16-8 as
[38:11] Speaker 9: the Thunder are turning it over seven times in the
[38:13] Speaker 9: first quarter thanks to four turnovers from the back-to-back MVP
[38:18] Speaker 9: in the first quarter. You just can't do that in
[38:21] Speaker 9: a pivotal Game 5. You don't usually get away with it, but...
[38:27] Speaker 9: The seven foot white guy finally said, I think I'm
[38:30] Speaker 9: going to play tonight. I'm going to actually, I'm going
[38:33] Speaker 9: to shoot my shot. I'm just going to try. I
[38:35] Speaker 9: don't know if Dagnall got to him or Sam Presti
[38:37] Speaker 9: and just said, just shoot it. You know, just shoot it.
[38:41] Speaker 9: Just go up and shoot it because you can make
[38:43] Speaker 9: these shots. And he made all four and they really
[38:46] Speaker 9: saved the day and the night. That's what happened. Chet
[38:49] Speaker 9: did that. And then it was interesting that Miss Johnson
[38:53] Speaker 9: allowed Wimby to run that huddle in the third quarter
[38:56] Speaker 9: because the coaches didn't participate in the huddle. It wasn't
[38:59] Speaker 9: a coach's huddle. It was a Wimby huddle. And others,
[39:02] Speaker 9: Kelton Johnson got involved some, but Wimby was the one.
[39:06] Speaker 9: He's exhorting.
[39:07] Speaker 5: He's yelling.
[39:08] Speaker 9: It's a fiery speech, however you want to look at it.
[39:13] Speaker 9: He gave it his best shot. That's his early, what
[39:17] Speaker 9: is he, 22 years old. So this is his first shot.
[39:20] Speaker 9: I'm going to lead this team. And they come right out,
[39:23] Speaker 9: and I guess they weren't listening because De'Aaron Fox immediately
[39:26] Speaker 9: throws it in the third row. And it's a terrible
[39:29] Speaker 9: turnover that just took. the life out of the speech
[39:31] Speaker 9: in the huddle. And then late in the game, I
[39:36] Speaker 9: don't know what happened because I'm not a lip reader.
[39:39] Speaker 9: It just looks suspicious to me. It's a lack of
[39:43] Speaker 9: leadership if you're going to lean over and tell your
[39:46] Speaker 9: two bench guys, your two goons, to go get somebody.
[39:49] Speaker 2: Come on, man. But if that's not what happened, you
[39:51] Speaker 2: can't say that. It is what happened.
[39:53] Speaker 3: It is what happened.
[39:54] Speaker 4: You know that's what happened.
[39:55] Speaker 2: It is what happened. Yes, you told him to his face.
[39:57] Speaker 8: I got another one for you.
[39:59] Speaker 2: He said that out loud. That's what happened.
[40:02] Speaker 4: Yes, they sent him in there to go.
[40:04] Speaker 3: What'd you send him in the game for?
[40:06] Speaker 4: To bully a TikToker. And not even him. Didn't Pumbly
[40:09] Speaker 4: do something too? So Pumbly hit him on the back.
[40:11] Speaker 4: Both of them. They knew what they were doing.
[40:13] Speaker 3: Wow, that's crazy.
[40:14] Speaker 8: And you talking about Luke Dort. Y'all the dirtiest players
[40:18] Speaker 8: in the league.
[40:19] Speaker 2: Luke Durant. You got the dirtiest.
[40:21] Speaker 4: Players in the league over there.
[40:22] Speaker 2: Talk about Luke Durant. He's the baby of the league.
[40:25] Speaker 2: You got to come up with something. I know we're live.
[40:28] Speaker 4: Y'all know we are live. Did you see this?
[40:31] Speaker 3: I've seen it.
[40:31] Speaker 2: You got to come up with something else.
[40:33] Speaker 3: He said I got another one for you.
[40:34] Speaker 2: You got to come up with something else.
[40:36] Speaker 3: He said I got another one.
[40:36] Speaker 8: And then Palmley come in and just knock the dude
[40:39] Speaker 8: off the floor.
[40:39] Speaker 2: Who just does with the elbows and shit? If he's
[40:42] Speaker 2: not in the game, guess who don't get fouled? Come on, man.
[40:44] Speaker 4: Y'all have been playing dirty. Castle out there playing football.
[40:47] Speaker 4: You got football and UFC players out there.
[40:50] Speaker 3: Castle ran into Schaefer.
[40:52] Speaker 9: Then Rashad. Look, if you are the leader of this
[40:59] Speaker 9: team and it's a really good team and it ain't over,
[41:03] Speaker 9: we still got a long way to go. You have
[41:06] Speaker 9: to go suck it up. And take your licks from
[41:10] Speaker 9: the media. You've got to go answer the hard questions
[41:13] Speaker 9: because you can't leave the rest of them to have
[41:16] Speaker 9: to answer for you. And that's what happened. All the
[41:19] Speaker 9: rest of them had to answer for him because he ducked.
[41:23] Speaker 9: And it's just... He loves to– he can front run.
[41:27] Speaker 9: He loves to sit up there when the world's at
[41:29] Speaker 9: his feet saying, you're the greatest we've ever seen. Remember
[41:32] Speaker 9: down the stretch of the season, he's up there after
[41:34] Speaker 9: every game campaigning for MVP. I think I'm the MVP.
[41:37] Speaker 4: I'm the MVP.
[41:38] Speaker 2: Remember that?
[41:38] Speaker 4: Yeah.
[41:40] Speaker 2: I believe it.
[41:41] Speaker 4: Yeah.
[41:43] Speaker 9: And now you have to take the bad with the good,
[41:47] Speaker 9: and you have to show your teammates– I ain't running
[41:50] Speaker 9: from nobody.
[41:52] Speaker 2: I'm here.
[41:52] Speaker 9: We're here. And all you have to do is go
[41:55] Speaker 9: up there and say, we're going to be ready for
[41:57] Speaker 9: game six. That's all you need to say. But you
[42:00] Speaker 9: have to be accountable to your teammates. And that was
[42:04] Speaker 9: just wrong. And the NBA won't like it either because
[42:06] Speaker 9: they're trying to push him as the face of the
[42:09] Speaker 9: league now. And he is ratings gold internationally. I got it.
[42:14] Speaker 9: So you can't duck that responsibility.
[42:17] Speaker 4: That's... Now....
[42:20] Speaker 9: Now you've got a crack in the foundation that he's building.
[42:24] Speaker 3: That's what you have. We see it. First it was
[42:26] Speaker 3: the elbow. Now he's running for the media.
[42:30] Speaker 2: Sean, do you think Wimmy Duck in the media was
[42:32] Speaker 2: a big deal or not a big deal? I feel
[42:37] Speaker 2: like he should have addressed it, but the fact that
[42:40] Speaker 2: he didn't is not the end of the fucking world.
[42:42] Speaker 4: Yes, it is.
[42:43] Speaker 3: Yes, it is.
[42:43] Speaker 2: It's not the end. It's the end of the fucking
[42:45] Speaker 2: world of people watching and people pushing narrative.
[42:49] Speaker 4: Yes, it is.
[42:50] Speaker 2: Yes, it is. When we talked about when.
[42:51] Speaker 3: Other people did it, you were saying that.
[42:53] Speaker 4: I mean, LeBron had that same.
[42:54] Speaker 2: Whoever.
[42:55] Speaker 4: Who did it?
[42:55] Speaker 2: Who else did it?
[42:56] Speaker 4: Brooks.
[42:57] Speaker 6: Huh?
[42:57] Speaker 4: Talked about Brooks.
[42:58] Speaker 2: I said something about Brooks? No, I didn't. So what
[43:01] Speaker 2: are you talking about?
[43:01] Speaker 4: It would be the start of World War III.
[43:02] Speaker 2: Who else did it?
[43:03] Speaker 3: I don't remember. Who else did it? I just gave
[43:05] Speaker 3: you one example already.
[43:06] Speaker 2: Okay, cool. I gave you one example already. I don't
[43:09] Speaker 2: need to give you all of them. Yes, he should
[43:10] Speaker 2: have addressed the media. Yes, that's a certain point. Like
[43:14] Speaker 2: you said, accountability for your teammates only.
[43:17] Speaker 3: Cool.
[43:19] Speaker 2: Do we have other opportunities to correct that? Yes. Cracking
[43:24] Speaker 2: the foundation? Come on, man. You're being dramatic. We're not
[43:27] Speaker 2: watching the fucking Titanic, okay?
[43:29] Speaker 9: We are.
[43:30] Speaker 2: We're not watching the Titanic, okay? I don't know.
[43:32] Speaker 9: They go down.
[43:32] Speaker 2: Okay, we're not watching the fucking Titanic.
[43:35] Speaker 4: Have the Spurs hit an iceberg? No.
[43:37] Speaker 3: That was the biggest shit ever.
[43:39] Speaker 2: I mean.
[43:40] Speaker 4: No. Previously thought to be unsuccessful.
[43:42] Speaker 2: We're just dealing with some turbulence right now.
[43:44] Speaker 8: I mean, if you're going to duck the media, that
[43:45] Speaker 8: means you better win game six. And you better come
[43:47] Speaker 8: out winning this series.
[43:49] Speaker 2: Well, it ain't going to change our perspective on Wimby.
[43:51] Speaker 2: You sit here and just Wimby, Wimby, Wimby, Wimby like
[43:54] Speaker 2: nobody else is out there playing in the game. Wimby, Wimby, Wimby.
[43:57] Speaker 2: Why does it matter?
[43:57] Speaker 8: I mean, when LeBron James was playing in the playoffs,
[44:03] Speaker 8: it was, oh, no, LeBron James, you're the best player
[44:05] Speaker 8: in the world. You should be able to get them
[44:06] Speaker 8: over the hump. Wimby, you're the best player in the world.
[44:08] Speaker 8: You better get them over the hump.
[44:10] Speaker 3: Same thing.
[44:10] Speaker 4: Same energy. Keep the same energy. Keep the same energy.
[44:14] Speaker 4: That's all I want. You're going to say that about
[44:16] Speaker 4: a 41-year-old LeBron James? Best player, he got to do it.
[44:18] Speaker 4: You got to do the same thing.
[44:21] Speaker 3: I need that same energy.
[44:23] Speaker 2: Come on, be a dog. He better get out.
[44:27] Speaker 4: Of this series.
[44:28] Speaker 2: Since you want to duck media, get out the series.
[44:30] Speaker 4: Y'all know we live, right?
[44:31] Speaker 2: Don't nobody believe this shit.
[44:33] Speaker 3: Come on.
[44:34] Speaker 2: I need that same energy. I need that same energy.
[44:37] Speaker 2: I need that same energy.
[44:38] Speaker 4: No one believes. I'm tired of that.
[44:39] Speaker 2: You're not believable. I'm tired of that. We don't believe it.
[44:43] Speaker 4: We don't believe it.
[44:44] Speaker 2: He ain't got the glow. I don't believe it.
[44:45] Speaker 4: He ain't got the glow.
[44:46] Speaker 2: You have to be a little authentic here.
[44:47] Speaker 8: 41-year-old.
[44:48] Speaker 2: Come on, man. Come on.
[44:49] Speaker 4: You're the best player in the world. You better get
[44:50] Speaker 4: them over the hump.
[44:50] Speaker 2: That was a failed season.
[44:52] Speaker 4: Man, this is going to be a failed season right
[44:53] Speaker 4: here if you don't get over the hump. Sweet.
[44:55] Speaker 2: Sweet.
[44:56] Speaker 3: If it's a fail, I get one.
[44:58] Speaker 4: Yeah, he better get to the finals.
[45:01] Speaker 2: Did LeBron get swept?
[45:04] Speaker 9: His first final.
[45:04] Speaker 4: I mean, the Lakers did.
[45:06] Speaker 2: What the fuck is he talking about? As a 41-year-old.
[45:09] Speaker 4: Because you said LeBron James.
[45:10] Speaker 2: You was talking about LeBron James. We didn't get swept.
[45:13] Speaker 4: It don't matter if you got swept or not.
[45:15] Speaker 2: You better get out of this.
[45:15] Speaker 4: You better get out of this series. If you lose,
[45:17] Speaker 4: you lose.
[45:18] Speaker 2: If you lose, you lose. Is your team playing? Mm-hmm.
[45:22] Speaker 2: Who are your teams?
[45:23] Speaker 4: OKC?
[45:23] Speaker 2: Yeah, I bet it is.
[45:24] Speaker 9: Mm-hmm.
[45:26] Speaker 2: You just be lying on point. You just be lying
[45:29] Speaker 2: on point. Didn't I tell you about the lion yesterday?
[45:31] Speaker 3: Didn't I tell you about the.
[45:33] Speaker 2: Lion, the tiger, and the bear? What noise did they make?
[45:35] Speaker 2: Didn't I tell you?
[45:37] Speaker 4: Huh?
[45:37] Speaker 2: You don't even know who your team is. You don't
[45:40] Speaker 2: even know. You don't even know.
[45:42] Speaker 4: You didn't even.
[45:43] Speaker 2: Wear socks yesterday.
[45:44] Speaker 4: You don't even know.
[45:45] Speaker 2: What the fuck is you talking about, nigga?
[45:47] Speaker 4: Try it.
[45:47] Speaker 3: In the triads, we don't wear socks. In the triads,
[45:52] Speaker 3: we don't wear socks.
[45:53] Speaker 4: Come on, man. In the triads, we don't wear socks.
[45:54] Speaker 2: Come on, man. When we come out here with that shit, man.
[45:58] Speaker 3: Come on, man. Stop fucking with me.
[46:01] Speaker 2: I do this.
[46:01] Speaker 3: You got to feel the ground after you.
[46:03] Speaker 4: You got to feel the ground after you.
[46:05] Speaker 1: So let's keep this thing moving in a positive direction
[46:09] Speaker 1: for some.
[46:09] Speaker 4: For some.
[46:11] Speaker 1: So we've talked about the Chet versus Wimby rivalry in
[46:14] Speaker 1: the past. I think Wimby's basically said it's not a
[46:17] Speaker 1: rivalry because Chet is not on his level. Chet made
[46:21] Speaker 1: his first All-NBA team Sunday, left much to be desired
[46:25] Speaker 1: in the first four games of the series. He was
[46:26] Speaker 1: averaging just 11.6 rebounds, shooting 47% from the field, 33%
[46:30] Speaker 1: from three in those games. Had his best game of
[46:33] Speaker 1: the series, game five, 16 points on three. Six of
[46:35] Speaker 1: nine shooting, 11 rebounds. Had that moment early on. Tried
[46:39] Speaker 1: to dunk on Winby. Shot clock expired. But after watching
[46:42] Speaker 1: the shot get beat up for most of the series,
[46:43] Speaker 1: it was, I think, refreshing for him, even though the
[46:45] Speaker 1: bucket didn't count. They caught Winby later in that game. But, Skip,
[46:49] Speaker 1: as a resident Oklahoma City fan, what did Chet Holmgren
[46:52] Speaker 1: show you with his Game 5 performance?
[46:55] Speaker 9: Well, as I just said about the first quarter, it
[46:57] Speaker 9: was all about the first quarter. And he showed his
[47:01] Speaker 9: teammates that, for once, he wasn't afraid. And that was huge.
[47:07] Speaker 9: But just, he's nothing without his fellow post player. Like,
[47:14] Speaker 9: Isaiah Hartenstein was the key to the night last night.
[47:17] Speaker 9: He's everything. Where Chet made four shots. And then went
[47:22] Speaker 9: a little quiet after that. Fine. But without Hartenstein, they
[47:28] Speaker 9: don't win. And just, if we can get the Knicks
[47:30] Speaker 9: back in the conversation here, just for the record, remember,
[47:33] Speaker 9: just two years ago, he was a Knick, Hartenstein. And
[47:37] Speaker 9: Sam Presti is not a big player in free agency,
[47:41] Speaker 9: but he knew, I can't do it with just Chet.
[47:45] Speaker 9: Chet's got skills, and he's 7'1, and he can run
[47:48] Speaker 9: the court a little bit. He's got that, but... But
[47:52] Speaker 9: he doesn't have what Hartenstein has in him, which is
[47:55] Speaker 9: guts and grit and fight and just.
[48:00] Speaker 9: Just competitiveness, and he's got physical strength. And Sam Presti said,
[48:06] Speaker 9: I got to go get that and I got to
[48:08] Speaker 9: pay for that.
[48:09] Speaker 2: You forget something though, Skip. He's got little black people
[48:12] Speaker 2: in him too. He's mixed.
[48:14] Speaker 9: Okay, all right. Fair enough.
[48:16] Speaker 2: He's mixed. He's on both sides. You had to go
[48:20] Speaker 2: get some other shit to help this guy.
[48:22] Speaker 9: The other guy's not mixed.
[48:23] Speaker 2: He's not. He's from Minnesota. That is true.
[48:25] Speaker 9: Bingo. So Hardenstein, Sam Presti gives him $ 30 million. It's
[48:33] Speaker 9: almost $ 90 million for three years because he said, I
[48:37] Speaker 9: can't do it without that guy. And last night, it
[48:40] Speaker 9: was just glaring. Without that guy, you're not going to
[48:43] Speaker 9: survive because Chet can't do that. He can take Wimby
[48:47] Speaker 9: here and there and spot, you know, and he can
[48:49] Speaker 9: go up and try to bother his shot a little
[48:52] Speaker 9: bit here and there. But without Hardenstein... He's it against Wimby.
[48:58] Speaker 9: It took him a couple of games to figure out,
[49:02] Speaker 9: we don't need to go play with Caruso down there
[49:05] Speaker 9: or Dork trying to get underneath him. Just let Hartenstein
[49:08] Speaker 9: just face up to him and just say, here, I'm here.
[49:12] Speaker 9: If you can beat me, beat me. And last night,
[49:14] Speaker 9: he couldn't beat him. Maybe in game six down back home,
[49:17] Speaker 9: he'll feel more comfortable to just attack him and beat him.
[49:19] Speaker 9: the way he did in game four. But I try
[49:25] Speaker 9: to imagine the Knicks, if they still had Hartenstein, who
[49:27] Speaker 9: they could have never kept because he had made the...
[49:31] Speaker 9: He's a 9-9 guy who can change your defense.
[49:34] Speaker 4: You know, that's, you know, and it.
[49:37] Speaker 3: Floater boys.
[49:37] Speaker 9: Yeah, and the little floaters.
[49:39] Speaker 2: That shit goes in. That goes in. I hate it.
[49:42] Speaker 2: Every time it goes in.
[49:43] Speaker 4: Oh, my God, I hate it.
[49:44] Speaker 2: I'm like, that shit is bottom. That shit is bottom.
[49:47] Speaker 9: Yeah, and the point of floaters.
[49:50] Speaker 3: The offensive rebound is like crazy.
[49:52] Speaker 9: Like last night, he scored 12 points, and you feel
[49:54] Speaker 9: like it's 30 points when he's making these ridiculous floaters, right?
[49:57] Speaker 4: Deplating buckets. Yeah, because he's.
[50:00] Speaker 9: Never going to take a three, so he's not one
[50:02] Speaker 9: of those fives who can go out there and just
[50:04] Speaker 9: spot up and shoot it. No, he just does the
[50:09] Speaker 9: dirty work that Chet can't do. And so that was
[50:14] Speaker 9: the best you could get from Chet to open a game,
[50:16] Speaker 9: and they needed it, and they're going to need it
[50:18] Speaker 9: again and again. And their games... Against the Knicks this
[50:23] Speaker 9: year at Madison Square Garden, I think the Thunder won
[50:26] Speaker 9: by three, and Chet made six threes because he's pretty good.
[50:29] Speaker 9: He can shoot it. So that's what he does, but
[50:34] Speaker 9: without the combination of the other guy, they're not the same.
[50:38] Speaker 4: I agree.
[50:40] Speaker 9: Yeah.
[50:40] Speaker 4: Is it time for Chet to start going at Wimby?
[50:42] Speaker 2: I don't know.
[50:43] Speaker 4: The shoulder bump? I think he heard me yesterday. I
[50:46] Speaker 4: think that rivalry is over.
[50:47] Speaker 1: Just see what he's about, though. I'm saying Wimby should
[50:49] Speaker 1: under-check you.
[50:50] Speaker 3: Chet heard me yesterday.
[50:51] Speaker 2: Chet always taking the high road. I'm tired of taking
[50:53] Speaker 2: the high road. Everybody's seen the Chet's bump because that's
[50:56] Speaker 2: what it is. That's my energy towards you.
[50:58] Speaker 4: And the foul.
[50:59] Speaker 2: And the foul on him. And if 16 and 11,
[51:00] Speaker 2: 16 and 11 is the best you're going to, Give
[51:06] Speaker 2: as a response, cool. Third team, all NBA, 16 and 11.
[51:10] Speaker 2: And then you got 12 and 15 from Hartenstein. Like,
[51:16] Speaker 2: you're talking about a bruiser. Somebody goes down there as
[51:18] Speaker 2: a vet and knows, listen, I got this. I know
[51:22] Speaker 2: what he don't like. It's like having Reggie Evans or Eric–
[51:27] Speaker 2: Brian Grant guarding you in the post. That's who you
[51:31] Speaker 2: put up against a Shaq or a Tim Duncan. It's like, listen,
[51:34] Speaker 2: we got to muck the game up. It's just like
[51:37] Speaker 2: Mike Tyson fighting fucking Linus Lewis. I can't just jab
[51:40] Speaker 2: you to death. I got to try to get inside.
[51:42] Speaker 2: And if I can't figure out how to bite your
[51:44] Speaker 2: fucking ear. Like, we got to figure out something to
[51:47] Speaker 2: get you rattled and off your game. They've done that.
[51:50] Speaker 2: It is frustrating for Wimby.
[51:52] Speaker 4: Holyfield.
[51:52] Speaker 2: Yeah, that was eventually. Holyfield, but I'm saying try.
[51:54] Speaker 6: Yeah.
[51:54] Speaker 2: Try to bite you. Even try to bite Lennox there, too. Yeah,
[51:57] Speaker 2: that's true. But it's just to change it up.
[52:00] Speaker 4: It was a tyrannical tyrant, Lennox.
[52:01] Speaker 2: You look at the ability for them to frustrate Wimby,
[52:06] Speaker 2: and if that's going to be the thing to get
[52:08] Speaker 2: him off his game, why would you change that? I
[52:11] Speaker 2: wouldn't change that, especially if I can keep Harkestine in
[52:14] Speaker 2: front of him. and still play elbows and boxes and
[52:17] Speaker 2: stop him from driving, which happened last night when the
[52:20] Speaker 2: ball went off of Chet's leg. That possession alone showed
[52:25] Speaker 2: me how frustrating it was for Wimby offensively. He tried
[52:29] Speaker 2: to make a move. You had Wallace there, Caruso coming across,
[52:33] Speaker 2: and you had Harkestan still in front, and you had
[52:36] Speaker 2: Chet on the backside ready to come over the block.
[52:39] Speaker 2: That's just him being aggressive but not having anywhere to go.
[52:43] Speaker 2: And that's going to be the series for the rest
[52:44] Speaker 2: of the way for him. He has to figure out
[52:47] Speaker 2: how in one of the possessions in the second half
[52:50] Speaker 2: where he drove middle, went up, check came across, he
[52:55] Speaker 2: passed it to Keldon Johnson for a three. That was
[52:57] Speaker 2: the play where you are decoy now. And I think
[53:01] Speaker 2: Jamal Crawford was saying something about him being more aggressive.
[53:04] Speaker 2: They kept harping on he's not doing enough, he's not
[53:07] Speaker 2: doing enough. But in real time, he's trying to figure
[53:10] Speaker 2: out what to do. Other than just try to be
[53:12] Speaker 2: aggressive and do what Stephon Castle was doing in one
[53:15] Speaker 2: and two, where you're just turning the ball over trying
[53:17] Speaker 2: to be aggressive. He's like, I got to find the
[53:19] Speaker 2: open guy. I got to figure out who's open and
[53:22] Speaker 2: when and why. And so when he made that play,
[53:25] Speaker 2: I felt like we had a chance. But then again,
[53:27] Speaker 2: we talk about hitting shots. If those guys aren't hitting shots,
[53:31] Speaker 2: no matter what Wimby does, it looks like a turnover.
[53:34] Speaker 2: That looks like a bad non-competitive shot. He don't look
[53:38] Speaker 2: like he got energy. He's not being aggressive. But he's
[53:42] Speaker 2: really thinking the game in real time. Like, all right,
[53:44] Speaker 2: I got to be the decoy. Gil used to say
[53:46] Speaker 2: it all the time. In a certain game, when you
[53:48] Speaker 2: got guys coming to you saying, listen, man, this is
[53:52] Speaker 2: not going to be your night tonight. You got to
[53:54] Speaker 2: figure out how to make it somebody else's night. So
[53:57] Speaker 2: how are you going to do that without looking like
[53:59] Speaker 2: you don't want to play? So I think that's the
[54:02] Speaker 2: criticism for Wimby right now.
[54:04] Speaker 9: So the Thunder, they're notorious for giving up especially open
[54:08] Speaker 9: corner threes because of what you said. If somebody drives it,
[54:12] Speaker 9: Caruso and Cason-Waltz, they're going to try to dig it out,
[54:16] Speaker 9: and they're going for the steal because if they steal it,
[54:19] Speaker 9: they're going to go the other way and dunk it.
[54:21] Speaker 9: That's how they play. And last night, they barely won
[54:25] Speaker 9: points off turnover, so it wasn't that, but they're going
[54:28] Speaker 9: to make it hard on Wimby because from 7-6, if
[54:31] Speaker 9: you're trying to do the long dribbles, somebody's going to
[54:34] Speaker 9: get underneath it.
[54:35] Speaker 2: Yeah, every time.
[54:36] Speaker 9: Yeah.
[54:37] Speaker 2: I was just trying to get back. Even just trying
[54:39] Speaker 2: to get back is good for the Thunder because they're
[54:42] Speaker 2: showing bodies for Wimby. He's second guessing the drive because
[54:46] Speaker 2: of the show and get back. Or even the full rotation.
[54:49] Speaker 4: Well, yeah, that's what the Spurs did in game four.
[54:51] Speaker 4: That's why they.
[54:52] Speaker 2: But think about the Spurs of the past. The Spurs
[54:54] Speaker 2: of the past. So to guard somebody else, too.
[54:57] Speaker 3: That, too. That's what I like. That's where they win.
[54:59] Speaker 2: That, too.
[54:59] Speaker 3: When he ain't guarding Wimby.
[55:01] Speaker 1: Yeah.
[55:01] Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, yeah. And it allows him to be more
[55:04] Speaker 2: of a role.
[55:04] Speaker 3: Yeah, be who he is.
[55:05] Speaker 2: Think of the Spurs from the past. What was the
[55:08] Speaker 2: number one thing they had in that Tim Duncan throwout?
[55:12] Speaker 2: Corner three. Bruce Bowen in the corner every fucking time.
[55:17] Speaker 2: Now the Spurs identity for that particular offense was it
[55:21] Speaker 2: not only Bruce Bowen, but it was the wing three,
[55:25] Speaker 2: which was Bonner. Matt Bonner had the wing three, which
[55:30] Speaker 2: is the slot, the slot position on the swing swing.
[55:33] Speaker 2: So you had Bonner on this wing and you had
[55:36] Speaker 2: Ginobili on the other wing. Ginobili was the driver. And
[55:40] Speaker 2: if he got it, he's driving left. But Bonner was
[55:43] Speaker 2: on the other wing where it was swing swing from
[55:45] Speaker 2: Tim Duncan and And it was either him shooting it
[55:47] Speaker 2: or Bruce Bowen shooting it. And when you got that
[55:50] Speaker 2: type of understanding about Bruce, we don't want you dribbling.
[55:53] Speaker 2: We don't want you doing– shooting this corner three because
[55:56] Speaker 2: this is where you're.
[55:57] Speaker 4: Going to get it.
[55:57] Speaker 2: We need to identify who that's going to be for
[55:59] Speaker 2: us now.
[56:00] Speaker 8: We just have to get that player. These guys now
[56:02] Speaker 8: are all drivers and they're more.
[56:03] Speaker 2: Vassell can be– I think Vassell is that player. Vassell
[56:05] Speaker 2: is that player. Because he can hit that shot. No,
[56:07] Speaker 2: but Sam Haney is that guy. He hit early.
[56:13] Speaker 4: He hit early.
[56:14] Speaker 8: Those guys back then, that's because that's what they.
[56:17] Speaker 2: Had to do. Bruce became the guy. They made him
[56:20] Speaker 2: the guy. They told him, you're going to hit this shot.
[56:23] Speaker 2: That's all he could do. he wasn't yeah but Champagne
[56:28] Speaker 2: is not Champagne is a shooter.
[56:29] Speaker 1: He struggled early on in the series 6 for 31
[56:33] Speaker 1: one dribble shot.
[56:34] Speaker 8: Yeah but they can't do that they have all guys
[56:36] Speaker 8: that can do this but back then they can they
[56:38] Speaker 8: was yes Bonner yes don't dribble of course but now
[56:41] Speaker 8: yes everybody can score so this is a different team
[56:44] Speaker 8: yes we can't hit it but also we can score
[56:46] Speaker 8: that's why they're where they're at now they didn't hit
[56:48] Speaker 8: it last.
[56:48] Speaker 2: Night but I take what got there though you.
[56:51] Speaker 3: Can't Well, that one play, I know what you're talking about.
[56:58] Speaker 3: That was an easy shot. You don't need to put
[57:00] Speaker 3: the ball down like that.
[57:01] Speaker 4: Yeah, but what got them there? Because they were, I mean, yeah,
[57:03] Speaker 4: you didn't make shots.
[57:04] Speaker 8: Okay, but that don't mean the game plan was.
[57:07] Speaker 2: What happened to the game plan. The game plan can't
[57:10] Speaker 2: be live by the three, die by the three. And
[57:12] Speaker 2: that's how they play. We shot, what, ten more three-pointers
[57:15] Speaker 2: than they did last night? They shot 40-something percent from
[57:19] Speaker 2: the three, which is the difference because we shot way
[57:21] Speaker 2: more than they should have, especially late. Trying to make
[57:24] Speaker 2: the comeback when. When you in turn, you have to
[57:29] Speaker 2: think about what got us here, like you just said,
[57:31] Speaker 2: what got us here, moving the ball, driving the ball
[57:35] Speaker 2: and hitting open shots. Last night, we forced a lot
[57:39] Speaker 2: of play. based on OKC making the fucking adjustments. You
[57:43] Speaker 2: have to give OKC credit for making adjustments. Even Shea
[57:48] Speaker 2: said it in the press conference. We were able to
[57:50] Speaker 2: make adjustments and execute down the line.
[57:53] Speaker 8: I mean, it's not really too many adjustments. I mean, shit,
[57:55] Speaker 8: we didn't play nine straight times. I think it's just Wimby.
[57:58] Speaker 8: Wimby didn't show up.
[57:59] Speaker 2: No, that's not it.
[58:00] Speaker 4: It's adjustments, bro.
[58:01] Speaker 8: You said when Wimby's knocking down that three. Bro, listen,
[58:04] Speaker 8: I'm giving Wimby that shot. I'm going to let Wimby
[58:07] Speaker 8: come out. shoot two or three in a row because
[58:09] Speaker 8: he's going to fall in love with it. That's all
[58:11] Speaker 8: he's going to do.
[58:11] Speaker 4: And what happened game four, you guys didn't do the
[58:14] Speaker 4: same thing in game five. You guys are inconsistent. Wimby's inconsistent.
[58:17] Speaker 2: What did we do different this game then, Brandon?
[58:20] Speaker 4: What did you guys do different?
[58:21] Speaker 2: What did we do different? Wimby.
[58:22] Speaker 4: It's Wimby.
[58:23] Speaker 2: No, what did we do different? No, Wimby. What did
[58:25] Speaker 2: Wimby do different?
[58:25] Speaker 4: Wimby didn't show up.
[58:26] Speaker 2: That's what happened. What didn't he do? He didn't show up.
[58:29] Speaker 4: He didn't have no energy.
[58:29] Speaker 2: No, I understand.
[58:30] Speaker 4: He wasn't scoring in the paint.
[58:32] Speaker 2: Like he was before.
[58:32] Speaker 10: We all know that.
[58:34] Speaker 4: When you guys win, you guys score 50-something points in
[58:35] Speaker 4: the paint.
[58:36] Speaker 2: What was he doing to score in the paint?
[58:38] Speaker 4: He wasn't in the paint. He wasn't scoring.
[58:39] Speaker 2: What was he doing the last game that he wasn't
[58:41] Speaker 2: doing this game?
[58:42] Speaker 4: He said, what was he doing the last game? He
[58:43] Speaker 4: was in the paint, bro.
[58:45] Speaker 8: When you guys are winning, you guys are scoring over
[58:47] Speaker 8: 50-something points in the paint.
[58:48] Speaker 4: Do you understand that? Yes, I understand that. So you
[58:51] Speaker 4: guys are not.
[58:52] Speaker 2: So the adjustment is what for OKC?
[58:54] Speaker 4: Well, the adjustment's been Hardenstein keeping his ass down.
[58:56] Speaker 8: Keeping him out of the paint. Get to the paint.
[58:58] Speaker 8: So why you can't get to the paint?
[59:00] Speaker 2: Because he's keeping me out of the paint.
[59:02] Speaker 4: But what happened game four?
[59:03] Speaker 2: He couldn't keep me out of the... paint because our
[59:07] Speaker 2: guys were hitting shots. You have to rotate out, which
[59:11] Speaker 2: pushed Harkinstein out of detriment.
[59:14] Speaker 4: I have to.
[59:15] Speaker 2: Rotate, get my hand out.
[59:16] Speaker 4: I can't go out with me, and I can't walk out.
[59:19] Speaker 4: How about you say your guy didn't have no energy?
[59:21] Speaker 2: No, you don't say that because that's a lazy take, man.
[59:23] Speaker 8: That's a lazy take.
[59:25] Speaker 2: That's a real take.
[59:27] Speaker 4: That's a lazy take.
[59:28] Speaker 2: That's a real take.
[59:29] Speaker 4: That's a lazy take.
[59:30] Speaker 2: That's a real take.
[59:31] Speaker 4: That's a lazy take.
[59:32] Speaker 3: You're talking about.
[59:34] Speaker 2: The old Spurs.
[59:35] Speaker 3: You can slow the game down and send Wimmy down
[59:37] Speaker 3: to the post instead of making him take it.
[59:39] Speaker 2: That's what we've been saying. I think we all made
[59:42] Speaker 2: that assessment. That's what I'm about to say. Is there
[59:44] Speaker 2: a place for that? Yes, that's what I'm saying. Mitch
[59:47] Speaker 2: don't want to do that.
[59:48] Speaker 3: Because every time, when we got to create something.
[59:50] Speaker 9: Right.
[59:51] Speaker 3: I've been saying that.
[59:52] Speaker 2: They don't have anybody that can do it.
[59:53] Speaker 4: They don't have nobody that can do it.
[59:54] Speaker 2: Mitch don't have that adjustment ready for the offense because
[59:58] Speaker 2: they have the guard-centric offense. They do the flares. They
[1:00:01] Speaker 2: do the pin downs for Wimby. They want to get
[1:00:03] Speaker 2: him in the middle of the floor. Now, when you
[1:00:06] Speaker 2: got elbows and boxes at the middle of the floor, listen,
[1:00:09] Speaker 2: I support everything you're saying. Let's get him on the block.
[1:00:11] Speaker 2: Let's make them play against us one-on-one on the block.
[1:00:15] Speaker 2: Let's dig. Let's make them rotate on the backside if
[1:00:18] Speaker 2: you want to double. Let's let Wimby play from there.
[1:00:21] Speaker 2: But if we're not going to do that... Which they haven't.
[1:00:24] Speaker 2: They haven't. They plan on a perimeter depending on a three-pointer.
[1:00:28] Speaker 2: So that's going to be the detriment to you. And
[1:00:30] Speaker 2: Wimpy can't go down there and force it right now.
[1:00:33] Speaker 2: He's not going to force it.
[1:00:34] Speaker 3: He's not going to be like, yo, I can throw
[1:00:36] Speaker 3: that pass to the post.
[1:00:37] Speaker 8: Yeah, Ken said it on the couch. He spoke with
[1:00:39] Speaker 8: one of the coaches on the team. He spoke with
[1:00:40] Speaker 8: one of the coaches, and he said they don't have
[1:00:41] Speaker 8: somebody that.
[1:00:41] Speaker 4: Can throw the ball down there.
[1:00:43] Speaker 2: Throw it to them as far as the spin lob
[1:00:45] Speaker 2: and all that. Yeah, so that's why they can't do it.
[1:00:46] Speaker 2: No way. Yeah, so they are. I'm not rolling.
[1:00:50] Speaker 3: Fox can't throw that pass?
[1:00:51] Speaker 4: Yeah.
[1:00:52] Speaker 2: I mean, that's what I was.
[1:00:54] Speaker 3: Over the top pass?
[1:00:54] Speaker 2: Yeah.
[1:00:55] Speaker 4: Yes.
[1:00:55] Speaker 3: Dude, they've been throwing a lob to him. What's the difference?
[1:00:58] Speaker 2: Well, because it's coming in the pick and roll.
[1:01:00] Speaker 4: And now.
[1:01:01] Speaker 3: Still, you could just... You're coming off the pick and roll.
[1:01:03] Speaker 2: No, but y'all not seeing what's happening in the pick
[1:01:05] Speaker 2: and roll? They're collapsing.
[1:01:07] Speaker 3: He's towering over Shea for that.
[1:01:09] Speaker 2: That's one. That's when they don't rotate over. But when
[1:01:12] Speaker 2: they do, they got four guys collapsing on the pick
[1:01:15] Speaker 2: and roll, which is why they open up the three
[1:01:18] Speaker 2: and they just missing it.
[1:01:19] Speaker 3: You can't have each player on a perimeter and just
[1:01:22] Speaker 3: tell Wimmy to go down and just throw it like this.
[1:01:25] Speaker 2: You could, but they inverted on the back side.
[1:01:26] Speaker 8: He can't get there because they plunking him.
[1:01:28] Speaker 4: He's not strong enough.
[1:01:29] Speaker 2: That's what I'm saying. He can't just be manning the corner.
[1:01:32] Speaker 4: No.
[1:01:33] Speaker 2: All on the three-point line. Arkansas is inverting so that
[1:01:36] Speaker 2: he's the low man every time.
[1:01:38] Speaker 3: But still, he's towering over Harkinstein.
[1:01:40] Speaker 8: I know what you're saying. You say he just can't
[1:01:42] Speaker 8: run down there. Yeah, just run to the post and
[1:01:44] Speaker 8: be like, you know, right here.
[1:01:45] Speaker 4: No, he can't.
[1:01:45] Speaker 2: That's the problem. You don't have that body weight. He's
[1:01:48] Speaker 2: not strong like that.
[1:01:49] Speaker 3: It don't matter if you're strong enough.
[1:01:51] Speaker 2: Yeah, dude. No. You can push him off his spot.
[1:01:54] Speaker 2: This is the part of playing post defense. If you
[1:01:55] Speaker 2: push somebody that's almost a whole foot.
[1:01:57] Speaker 4: Kareem wasn't that strong.
[1:01:58] Speaker 2: It don't matter, bro. All you got to do is
[1:02:00] Speaker 2: turn around.
[1:02:01] Speaker 4: Kareem wasn't that strong.
[1:02:02] Speaker 2: You know what post-defense is, right?
[1:02:04] Speaker 4: Yeah, shit.
[1:02:04] Speaker 2: Post-defense. But that's a foul, though. Three-quarter. Okay, what did
[1:02:08] Speaker 2: you just say? What did you just say? They would.
[1:02:11] Speaker 2: They would. But they haven't.
[1:02:13] Speaker 3: Because he haven't went down there.
[1:02:15] Speaker 2: So listen, if I'm three-quarter defense on the post, and
[1:02:19] Speaker 2: I'm Harkinstein, And there ain't no corner field for you
[1:02:23] Speaker 2: to go wing, corner, throw it into Wimby, right? We're
[1:02:27] Speaker 2: not playing that because we don't play down there, right?
[1:02:29] Speaker 2: So let's just say you get Wimby in the post
[1:02:32] Speaker 2: and Harkinstein's fronting.
[1:02:35] Speaker 4: It.
[1:02:35] Speaker 2: Kenyon's saying they don't have a player that's willing to
[1:02:37] Speaker 2: throw the ball over the top to Wimby to make
[1:02:40] Speaker 2: that play. So they're not playing that. So now, if
[1:02:43] Speaker 2: let's say... I get it.
[1:02:45] Speaker 3: This is what I'm saying.
[1:02:47] Speaker 2: It's still a turnover because I'm pushing you off of
[1:02:52] Speaker 2: your spot, bro.
[1:02:53] Speaker 4: Think about it.
[1:02:54] Speaker 2: Nick, if you like getting the ball at a certain
[1:02:56] Speaker 2: point in the mid-post, right?
[1:02:58] Speaker 4: That's a fast one.
[1:02:59] Speaker 2: It's not a foul if you don't catch the ball yet.
[1:03:02] Speaker 4: If I'm trying to catch it and you push me.
[1:03:03] Speaker 2: And I push you off your spot. That's a foul. No,
[1:03:05] Speaker 2: it's not.
[1:03:05] Speaker 4: No, it's not.
[1:03:06] Speaker 2: How? Because defensively, I get to put my arm bar
[1:03:09] Speaker 2: on you. No, you can't push me, though. Bro, if
[1:03:11] Speaker 2: I ride you.
[1:03:12] Speaker 3: If I'm standing in one spot, you just push me. Yeah,
[1:03:14] Speaker 3: I'll just fall.
[1:03:15] Speaker 2: Let's show them then, Nick.
[1:03:16] Speaker 3: Come on.
[1:03:16] Speaker 2: Let's show them. Wimby, you three-quarter me, right?
[1:03:20] Speaker 3: I'm right here posting up.
[1:03:21] Speaker 4: Boom.
[1:03:22] Speaker 2: Before you get the ball, BJ. You're about to throw
[1:03:25] Speaker 2: him the ball. You're about to throw him the ball. Okay.
[1:03:28] Speaker 2: So you throw it. I'm pushing you.
[1:03:30] Speaker 3: I'm right here.
[1:03:31] Speaker 2: I'm pushing you off of your spot. Come on, though.
[1:03:34] Speaker 4: All right. Now, but you're not in the spot that
[1:03:36] Speaker 4: you want to be.
[1:03:36] Speaker 2: Do you see this?
[1:03:37] Speaker 4: Now turn.
[1:03:38] Speaker 2: This is all that. Now turn. Now turn. Now turn.
[1:03:41] Speaker 2: Now turn. Now turn.
[1:03:42] Speaker 4: Now turn.
[1:03:43] Speaker 2: Now turn.
[1:03:43] Speaker 4: Now turn.
[1:03:44] Speaker 2: Now turn. Yes, they are. You're not calling that. You
[1:03:48] Speaker 2: know why? Because I'm here with my arm bar.
[1:03:51] Speaker 3: I'm not dislodging you.
[1:03:53] Speaker 2: I'm not doing this. I'm just strong. If that was Chet,
[1:03:57] Speaker 2: come back.
[1:03:58] Speaker 3: I know I'm strong.
[1:03:59] Speaker 2: You can't score on me. You can't score on me.
[1:04:01] Speaker 3: If I'm Chet, you're able to do what?
[1:04:06] Speaker 4: Right here.
[1:04:08] Speaker 2: Look, you're winning, but I'm going to allow it because
[1:04:12] Speaker 2: I can't be strong with you. I'm not strong.
[1:04:14] Speaker 3: Even if Hockenstein was strong.
[1:04:16] Speaker 2: I'm here. I'm here. It's a bad shot for you. No,
[1:04:19] Speaker 2: it's not. It's really like this.
[1:04:21] Speaker 3: It's really like this.
[1:04:26] Speaker 2: Thank you. It's like this. It don't matter. Thank you.
[1:04:28] Speaker 2: It don't matter. That's a good shot. All day. That's
[1:04:31] Speaker 2: a good shot. All day. That's a good shot. He
[1:04:33] Speaker 2: don't shoot 80% from the field, bro. That's a good shot.
[1:04:36] Speaker 2: He don't shoot 80% from the field. If on that post,
[1:04:38] Speaker 2: it would be. That's a good shot.
[1:04:40] Speaker 3: That's a good shot.
[1:04:40] Speaker 2: No. You telling me that right now, when being in
[1:04:44] Speaker 2: the mid post is going to hit 80% of those shots?
[1:04:47] Speaker 4: No.
[1:04:48] Speaker 2: Hand up? Contest it? No. The job for me is
[1:04:52] Speaker 2: to make it difficult for you. Make it a difficult catch,
[1:04:56] Speaker 2: push you off your spot, and now play front. Wimby
[1:05:00] Speaker 2: don't have that skill yet. We've been saying it. He
[1:05:03] Speaker 2: don't have the Tim Duncan skill where he can catch
[1:05:06] Speaker 2: and face you up in the post, make a move,
[1:05:08] Speaker 2: and do his thing. Tim Duncan did four years of
[1:05:11] Speaker 2: college to develop that. So you're looking at Wimby, 22
[1:05:14] Speaker 2: years old. He's trying to go with Hakeem. He's been
[1:05:17] Speaker 2: working with Kevin Garnett. He's trying to develop the skill set.
[1:05:23] Speaker 2: He don't even have the jump hook. When have you
[1:05:25] Speaker 2: seen Winby do a jump hook?
[1:05:26] Speaker 4: That's a problem. Never.
[1:05:28] Speaker 2: You know why?
[1:05:29] Speaker 4: Because he doesn't work on it.
[1:05:31] Speaker 2: He's not a big.
[1:05:32] Speaker 4: He doesn't work on it.
[1:05:33] Speaker 2: He's not a fucking center.
[1:05:35] Speaker 4: That's on him.
[1:05:36] Speaker 2: He's not a center.
[1:05:37] Speaker 3: He's a fucking guard.
[1:05:39] Speaker 2: He's a 7'6 guard.
[1:05:41] Speaker 9: He is.
[1:05:41] Speaker 2: And that's why if he learned the jump hook, imagine
[1:05:44] Speaker 2: him learning the Kareem Abdul-Jabbar jump hook.
[1:05:47] Speaker 9: What skill does he have at a great level already?
[1:05:51] Speaker 3: Shooting.
[1:05:51] Speaker 9: Free throw shooting.
[1:05:52] Speaker 4: That too.
[1:05:53] Speaker 9: Hey, last night, that was impressive to me.
[1:05:56] Speaker 2: 12 for 12.
[1:05:56] Speaker 9: That's the point of what he's saying.
[1:05:58] Speaker 2: You're a good free throw shooter.
[1:05:59] Speaker 4: That's why you have to do that.
[1:06:00] Speaker 2: It's not being contested. It's a free shot. It's a
[1:06:02] Speaker 2: free shot. No defense, bro. But how is he going
[1:06:04] Speaker 2: to get to the free throw line? What you mean?
[1:06:14] Speaker 8: By throwing the ball in there, turning like this, and
[1:06:16] Speaker 8: they're going to foul you.
[1:06:18] Speaker 4: They have to foul him.
[1:06:19] Speaker 8: Sometimes they're not, but sometimes they are.
[1:06:22] Speaker 4: That's part of the game.
[1:06:23] Speaker 2: He got because he's big. He's a big-ass 7'6 guy.
[1:06:28] Speaker 2: He got those calls because you have to foul him
[1:06:32] Speaker 2: when I do a spin move and I do this. Now,
[1:06:34] Speaker 2: that's all coming from the perimeter. No, it's not. He
[1:06:37] Speaker 2: was never on the block. So where is he getting
[1:06:40] Speaker 2: the foul?
[1:06:41] Speaker 4: Okay, he's on the perimeter, bro. He's driving the ball.
[1:06:45] Speaker 4: Outside the three-point line or inside?
[1:06:46] Speaker 8: He's inside the three-point line when he got that call.
[1:06:48] Speaker 4: That one call, he was inside the three-point line.
[1:06:50] Speaker 2: When he got that call. He's not getting none of those.
[1:06:56] Speaker 8: Fouls from playing on the block.
[1:06:58] Speaker 4: Dude, Harkison had.
[1:06:58] Speaker 8: That bullshit foul because he fouled him and he was
[1:07:00] Speaker 8: inside the paint.
[1:07:02] Speaker 4: All he had to do every time.
[1:07:03] Speaker 2: The Spurs don't teach me that. He's still underdeveloped.
[1:07:06] Speaker 3: Oh, my God.
[1:07:06] Speaker 4: It's an excuse.
[1:07:07] Speaker 2: Because, look, Mitch Johnson's offense is not a post, throw
[1:07:11] Speaker 2: it to Wimby in the post, throw it to Cornette
[1:07:14] Speaker 2: in the post.
[1:07:15] Speaker 4: We are a free-flowing five.
[1:07:17] Speaker 9: They do it more with Cornette than they do with Johnson.
[1:07:19] Speaker 2: Because Cornette is a traditional five. He's a traditional five.
[1:07:24] Speaker 2: I wish they went to him more in the post.
[1:07:26] Speaker 2: Is Wimmy the best player in the league, though?
[1:07:28] Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah. I mean, that's what he said. You've got
[1:07:31] Speaker 4: to be accountable, right? He is accountable.
[1:07:34] Speaker 2: He is accountable.
[1:07:36] Speaker 8: Because like Gilvin said, if he plays closer to the basket,
[1:07:39] Speaker 8: he has more advantage.
[1:07:40] Speaker 2: But when he had 41 and 24, it was no
[1:07:44] Speaker 2: closer to the basket. I was hitting my shots. So
[1:07:47] Speaker 2: everybody wants to do the, like I said, it's a
[1:07:50] Speaker 2: lazy take to say that this nigga's a pro. He
[1:07:54] Speaker 2: averages 30.
[1:07:55] Speaker 9: But wait a second. He had 24 rebounds. Last night
[1:07:58] Speaker 9: he had six.
[1:07:59] Speaker 2: Do you know why? So let's break the game down
[1:08:02] Speaker 2: and talk about why. When you're in a rotation as wing,
[1:08:06] Speaker 2: our main focus is to bring him away from the basket. Why?
[1:08:13] Speaker 2: I'm a coach. We need to get Wimby, Rudy Gobert,
[1:08:17] Speaker 2: and all of these defensive bigs away from the basket.
[1:08:21] Speaker 2: So we have chance to do what? Offensive rebound. We
[1:08:25] Speaker 2: have chances because what is Wimby doing when he's not
[1:08:28] Speaker 2: in the paint? He's contesting three-pointers. That's harder to get
[1:08:32] Speaker 2: a rebound defensively when you're contesting three-pointers. These shots. Offensively,
[1:08:37] Speaker 2: what are they doing? Keeping his ass off the glass.
[1:08:40] Speaker 2: No second chance points for Wimby. So it's harder for
[1:08:43] Speaker 2: him to get those rebounds. One, being in a position
[1:08:46] Speaker 2: of rotation, getting your hand up to contest shots and
[1:08:49] Speaker 2: not being in defense position. That's one. Two, your guards
[1:08:53] Speaker 2: are taking quick shots before you even get down the floor.
[1:08:57] Speaker 2: All game long. So the three games are... he had
[1:09:00] Speaker 2: under 10 rebounds, he's caught in rotations, he's not getting
[1:09:04] Speaker 2: to the offensive glass, and he's getting tired from just
[1:09:08] Speaker 2: running down, they shoot a shot, and he has to
[1:09:10] Speaker 2: run back. He don't have those opportunities. That's the difference
[1:09:14] Speaker 2: I see. I don't know what y'all see, but I'm
[1:09:16] Speaker 2: watching the game from that assessment like, damn, Wimby, I
[1:09:19] Speaker 2: know you can get more rebounds.
[1:09:20] Speaker 9: You know what I saw in game one? I saw
[1:09:23] Speaker 9: him have to sit and watch Shea get that MVP trophy.
[1:09:27] Speaker 9: And he played possessed in game one. And he commanded
[1:09:31] Speaker 9: and owned the paint in game one. Every loose ball rebound,
[1:09:36] Speaker 9: he was just going to sky and snatch it out
[1:09:38] Speaker 9: of the sky. And you saw fire and desire that
[1:09:42] Speaker 9: you haven't consistently seen from him. And now I'm hearing
[1:09:46] Speaker 9: some of the other shows where they're saying, well, he's
[1:09:48] Speaker 9: running out of gas. I'm like, he's 22. He's not
[1:09:51] Speaker 9: running out of any gas. Come on, man.
[1:09:53] Speaker 4: 29 minutes per game in the regular season.
[1:09:55] Speaker 2: It's mental.
[1:09:56] Speaker 4: 49 minutes in game one.
[1:09:57] Speaker 2: Come on, man. So you go from 41, you go
[1:09:59] Speaker 2: from 25 to 10. To 16 shots, to 15 shots,
[1:10:05] Speaker 2: to 22 shots.
[1:10:06] Speaker 1: No more than 16 shots in the three games they've lost.
[1:10:09] Speaker 1: I think 22 and 25 shots in the two games
[1:10:10] Speaker 1: they've lost.
[1:10:11] Speaker 2: And he's playing bigger minutes except for that game where
[1:10:14] Speaker 2: he had 33 in the game win, 33 and 31 minutes. But,
[1:10:18] Speaker 2: I mean, the free throws are there except for in
[1:10:21] Speaker 2: game two. He's being aggressive. It's just like you said,
[1:10:24] Speaker 2: if you're going to put a negative on him for
[1:10:28] Speaker 2: the rebounds, I'm not going to make an excuse for that,
[1:10:31] Speaker 2: but I can see why it's happening. I can see
[1:10:34] Speaker 2: in the rotations, he's out of position to get the rebound.
[1:10:38] Speaker 2: And when he comes out, Luke Cornett is not picking
[1:10:41] Speaker 2: up that slack. Nobody's picking up that slack. For OKC,
[1:10:44] Speaker 2: you got two guys that are not getting out to
[1:10:47] Speaker 2: the rotation because they're always inverted on the backside. One
[1:10:50] Speaker 2: or the other. So if Harkinstein doesn't get the rebound,
[1:10:53] Speaker 2: guess who's getting it?
[1:10:54] Speaker 4: Chet.
[1:10:54] Speaker 2: Chet not getting a rebound? Harkestan's getting it.
[1:10:57] Speaker 9: All right, so Rashad. So Nick is on record. You
[1:11:00] Speaker 9: have already said over in six, right?
[1:11:04] Speaker 4: It always comes back to this. So you know game one,
[1:11:07] Speaker 4: you know, Wimby only shot two threes.
[1:11:09] Speaker 9: Okay.
[1:11:10] Speaker 4: In game one?
[1:11:11] Speaker 2: Yeah, right?
[1:11:12] Speaker 4: Yeah, that's when he had 40.
[1:11:14] Speaker 9: Wait, he made the half-quarter.
[1:11:16] Speaker 8: Yeah, I'm saying his game, the way he played so well.
[1:11:19] Speaker 2: Oh, yeah, yeah.
[1:11:21] Speaker 4: All his shots. All his shots was. Yeah, well, all
[1:11:24] Speaker 4: his shots.
[1:11:25] Speaker 9: No, he made the bomb in game one.
[1:11:26] Speaker 4: Yeah, the 40. Oh, that one.
[1:11:28] Speaker 2: Okay, that one.
[1:11:29] Speaker 4: He only took two threes in that game.
[1:11:31] Speaker 8: Yeah, everything was inside the paint.
[1:11:33] Speaker 1: And if not for that three, the series may be
[1:11:35] Speaker 1: over right now, but that's neither here nor there.
[1:11:37] Speaker 2: Game four when he took seven threes. Okay. He made three.
[1:11:41] Speaker 3: His game is too dependent on if he makes shots
[1:11:44] Speaker 3: from the three-point line. It's too hot and cold.
[1:11:46] Speaker 4: No, it's not.
[1:11:47] Speaker 3: No, if he's making shots, he's rebounding, playing well. If
[1:11:50] Speaker 3: he's missing shots, he just... That's just like.
[1:11:52] Speaker 2: With any player in the league. I need shape. Shea
[1:11:56] Speaker 2: Gilchrist Alexander went 0 for 8, went to the free
[1:11:59] Speaker 2: throw line, seen the ball go in a few times,
[1:12:02] Speaker 2: and got his rhythm back. Just like any player, I
[1:12:04] Speaker 2: just need the ball to go in from me shooting
[1:12:07] Speaker 2: the ball. He hit 12 for 12 from the free
[1:12:09] Speaker 2: throw line. But what he loves is to see that
[1:12:12] Speaker 2: three ball go in. So 0 for 5, he never
[1:12:16] Speaker 2: got that momentum. It's just like LeBron. We used to say,
[1:12:19] Speaker 2: don't let LeBron get dunks because that's how he gets
[1:12:22] Speaker 2: his momentum. Foul him on fast breaks. Don't let him
[1:12:25] Speaker 2: get a dunk because if he gets that dunk, bro,
[1:12:28] Speaker 2: it's over for you. Same with D-Wade. Don't put him
[1:12:31] Speaker 2: on the foul line because if he gets to the
[1:12:33] Speaker 2: free throw line, oh, shit. Don't let Melo hit his
[1:12:36] Speaker 2: first face-up jumper. They're going to get hot. Take them
[1:12:39] Speaker 2: out of their sweet spots. Take them out of their
[1:12:41] Speaker 2: comfort zones, and you're good. It so happened early on.
[1:12:45] Speaker 2: He could change the game in too many ways. He
[1:12:47] Speaker 2: just ain't learned it yet. He hasn't learned it. Everybody
[1:12:50] Speaker 2: goes crazy when he's like he's 30 years old already.
[1:12:54] Speaker 2: He's not Joker. He's not all these other guys that
[1:12:57] Speaker 2: have been able to polish their game and show up
[1:12:59] Speaker 2: and be able to say, I can make these.
[1:13:01] Speaker 3: We give him everything already. So you got to play
[1:13:04] Speaker 3: like that.
[1:13:05] Speaker 2: If he wants to be the MVP. But he's not
[1:13:07] Speaker 2: the MVP. But he's not. So he's not.
[1:13:11] Speaker 8: I feel like he has a great game.
[1:13:13] Speaker 4: I say he played like an MVP.
[1:13:14] Speaker 8: He should know all this already. He's still playing like
[1:13:19] Speaker 8: an MVP. That's what gets Wimby going. It's the defense end.
[1:13:22] Speaker 8: When he comes down and gets a block early, he
[1:13:24] Speaker 8: gets a rebound or something like that.
[1:13:26] Speaker 2: That's not what gets him going. He does this naturally.
[1:13:29] Speaker 4: Because that's what happens in game one.
[1:13:31] Speaker 3: It was the defense end.
[1:13:32] Speaker 2: He plays defense every game.
[1:13:35] Speaker 8: Well, and by the way, at 22 years old, LeBron
[1:13:37] Speaker 8: James was in the finals. So I'm just saying. So
[1:13:39] Speaker 8: since we talk about the best player.
[1:13:41] Speaker 9: Rashad, you had him as the MVP.
[1:13:43] Speaker 2: Right. And I still got him.
[1:13:45] Speaker 3: He's not ready yet.
[1:13:47] Speaker 4: Right.
[1:13:47] Speaker 3: That's what I've been saying.
[1:13:48] Speaker 2: So we got to stop this. We say he's not ready. Right.
[1:13:51] Speaker 4: We got to still playing at an MVP level.
[1:13:54] Speaker 2: He doesn't even if he's not ready to be the
[1:13:56] Speaker 2: MVP and he's playing at an MVP level. What does
[1:13:58] Speaker 2: that say about him? What does that say about you?
[1:14:02] Speaker 8: To be an MVP talk.
[1:14:06] Speaker 2: To not have your game be fully developed. And to
[1:14:10] Speaker 2: be able to say, man, he still has to add this, this,
[1:14:13] Speaker 2: and this to his game.
[1:14:14] Speaker 4: But why does he get excused?
[1:14:16] Speaker 3: He's averaging 30 right now.
[1:14:18] Speaker 4: But why are we giving.
[1:14:19] Speaker 3: Him an excuse?
[1:14:19] Speaker 2: We're not giving him an excuse. No, I'm not.
[1:14:21] Speaker 4: No, I'm not.
[1:14:22] Speaker 2: No, I'm doing the same thing y'all niggas did all year.
[1:14:26] Speaker 4: No, we did not.
[1:14:27] Speaker 2: Cooper Flack, he's only 18. He's only, what are you
[1:14:30] Speaker 2: talking about? It's all the shit you was saying the
[1:14:32] Speaker 2: whole year long. But what about his age? You and Gil,
[1:14:34] Speaker 2: sit up here, what about his age? Now it changes?
[1:14:38] Speaker 4: No, it doesn't change.
[1:14:38] Speaker 2: So what the fuck are we talking about then?
[1:14:40] Speaker 4: So then he's done.
[1:14:41] Speaker 2: So I'm saying the same shit you were saying two
[1:14:44] Speaker 2: months ago, making excuses about Cooper Flack. About Cooper Flack.
[1:14:47] Speaker 4: You're making excuses about him.
[1:14:52] Speaker 2: Now when we talk about win, you don't want to
[1:14:55] Speaker 2: make an excuse for him.
[1:14:56] Speaker 3: We talk about young players the whole time.
[1:14:58] Speaker 4: First of all, Cooper Flagg, Dallas wasn't even a contender.
[1:15:00] Speaker 8: Dallas wasn't even a contender.
[1:15:02] Speaker 4: Dallas wasn't even a contender this year. Come on.
[1:15:05] Speaker 2: Talk about all this age shit, but now we don't
[1:15:07] Speaker 2: want to talk about it. Dallas wasn't even a contender.
[1:15:17] Speaker 8: Dallas wasn't even a contender. Was Dallas a contender this year?
[1:15:22] Speaker 8: Nobody had Dallas doing anything. Your man is over here
[1:15:25] Speaker 8: 22 years old.
[1:15:27] Speaker 4: No, we did not. Did anybody have Dallas going to
[1:15:29] Speaker 4: the playoffs this year? No, we didn't.
[1:15:31] Speaker 8: Nobody had Dallas doing anything this year.
[1:15:33] Speaker 3: What are you talking about?
[1:15:34] Speaker 2: Come on, man. Tighten up.
[1:15:38] Speaker 3: Yes, it is.
[1:15:39] Speaker 2: Tighten up, man. Okay, did they? Come on, you just
[1:15:41] Speaker 2: got to be trying to argue and shit. Okay, did they?
[1:15:42] Speaker 3: Okay, did they?
[1:15:43] Speaker 4: Man, back it up.
[1:15:44] Speaker 2: Make it make sense.
[1:15:44] Speaker 4: Yes, they did.
[1:15:45] Speaker 2: Okay, did they make it? Come on, man. No, they didn't.
[1:15:47] Speaker 3: Injury.
[1:15:48] Speaker 2: Why?
[1:15:48] Speaker 4: Injury.
[1:15:49] Speaker 3: Okay, okay.
[1:15:50] Speaker 2: They were predicted to be there.
[1:15:51] Speaker 4: But did they get there?
[1:15:52] Speaker 3: They were with AD and I.
[1:15:53] Speaker 2: Because of what? With AD and I.
[1:15:55] Speaker 1: But the Lakers also had injuries, and I don't think
[1:15:57] Speaker 1: that was an excuse.
[1:15:58] Speaker 2: Who's the youngest team in the NBA? Okay. Youngest team
[1:16:02] Speaker 2: in the NBA is in the conference finals.
[1:16:04] Speaker 4: Huh?
[1:16:05] Speaker 3: Come on, man.
[1:16:06] Speaker 2: Who was the youngest team? Will we make an excuse
[1:16:08] Speaker 2: about their experience?
[1:16:08] Speaker 8: The youngest team in NBA last year won it. Yeah,
[1:16:10] Speaker 8: that's what I'm saying. Who was the youngest team last year?
[1:16:12] Speaker 2: Will we make an excuse about their experience?
[1:16:14] Speaker 8: Who was the youngest team last year? Because they was
[1:16:17] Speaker 8: the youngest team that won it ever.
[1:16:19] Speaker 2: Are we making excuses? You always make excuses. No, they're
[1:16:23] Speaker 2: not making excuses.
[1:16:24] Speaker 4: Ain't nobody off the hook.
[1:16:26] Speaker 1: There's much left to be played in this series. Sufficient
[1:16:28] Speaker 1: Western Conference Finals. 22 LeBron James did it.
[1:16:31] Speaker 4: For this particular day. He won it. He got there.
[1:16:34] Speaker 3: He won it.
[1:16:35] Speaker 4: He got there.
[1:16:35] Speaker 3: He got there.
[1:16:36] Speaker 4: Go ahead.
[1:16:37] Speaker 2: Go ahead.
[1:16:38] Speaker 9: I just want on the record. Are you guaranteeing game
[1:16:42] Speaker 9: six wins? I can't guarantee nothing.
[1:16:44] Speaker 4: Oh, my God.
[1:16:45] Speaker 3: I'm not Charles Barkley.
[1:16:49] Speaker 2: You did all that hoop talk for nothing. I'm not Charles,
[1:16:52] Speaker 2: because you didn't guarantee game five. No, you're not. You
[1:16:54] Speaker 2: didn't guarantee game five. You didn't guarantee game five, Skip.
[1:16:57] Speaker 9: But you guaranteed seven, and I guaranteed seven.
[1:16:59] Speaker 2: I guaranteed seven steals.
[1:17:00] Speaker 4: Yeah.
[1:17:02] Speaker 2: Are you guaranteeing six in order to get pressure me
[1:17:04] Speaker 2: and you're not going to want to get pressured either.
[1:17:08] Speaker 4: Okay.
[1:17:08] Speaker 9: I know what this team psyche is because I watched
[1:17:11] Speaker 9: it last year. Go to Denver in game six in
[1:17:15] Speaker 9: the playoffs last year. Remember, it's the second round of
[1:17:17] Speaker 9: the playoffs. They go to Denver in Game 6, and
[1:17:19] Speaker 9: they lose 125-93, and they come home for Game 7
[1:17:24] Speaker 9: and just blow them off the floor.
[1:17:26] Speaker 2: They play different at home, right?
[1:17:27] Speaker 9: That's what they do.
[1:17:28] Speaker 2: That's why it's a fearful thing to go back to
[1:17:30] Speaker 2: OKC Game 7.
[1:17:31] Speaker 9: In the finals last year, Indiana, Game 6 at Indiana,
[1:17:36] Speaker 9: they win 103-91. Oklahoma City scored 91 points in that game.
[1:17:41] Speaker 9: And they came home, and I know that Halliburton tore
[1:17:44] Speaker 9: his Achilles, but still, they blew him off the floor
[1:17:46] Speaker 9: in game seven. They're hard to deal with on that
[1:17:49] Speaker 9: floor in front of those fans.
[1:17:51] Speaker 2: Why you think I said seven? Why you think I
[1:17:54] Speaker 2: said seven? That's why I know. I know if we
[1:17:57] Speaker 2: push him to seven, the only chance we got is
[1:18:00] Speaker 2: to shock the world. We can shock the world in seven.
[1:18:04] Speaker 2: Any other ordeal, I'm looking at it like they're a
[1:18:07] Speaker 2: tough team to fucking beat. They're not no fucking easy
[1:18:09] Speaker 2: team to beat. They're a tough team to beat. And
[1:18:12] Speaker 2: we are the youngest team in the league. We have
[1:18:14] Speaker 2: no experience. We're not supposed to be here. On paper,
[1:18:18] Speaker 2: you have a better team right now. But we have
[1:18:20] Speaker 2: no experience. That don't mean nothing.
[1:18:24] Speaker 4: That's another excuse.
[1:18:25] Speaker 2: Yeah, that's an excuse.
[1:18:27] Speaker 4: I'm not doing excuses.
[1:18:28] Speaker 2: Woo! Woo!
[1:18:33] Speaker 1: Not doing the excuses. Game six coming up on Thursday.
[1:18:36] Speaker 1: We will find out if the Spurs keep their season
[1:18:38] Speaker 1: alive or if they will be in Cancun with other changes.
[1:18:42] Speaker 2: Listen, y'all tried 3-0-1.
[1:18:45] Speaker 3: Nah, you lost that one, buddy.
[1:18:46] Speaker 2: Good try.
[1:18:47] Speaker 4: Hey, hey.
[1:18:48] Speaker 2: Good try. Go back to the zen.
[1:18:52] Speaker 1: Let's keep this thing moving. So on Sunday before Game
[1:18:55] Speaker 1: 4 of the Western Conference Finals, the NBA announced the
[1:18:58] Speaker 1: all-NBA teams for this season. Let's take a look. We
[1:19:02] Speaker 1: start with the first team. SGA and Jokic were the
[1:19:07] Speaker 1: only unanimous first team selection receiving all 100 first team votes.
[1:19:12] Speaker 1: It was Shea's four straight first team selection, Joker's eight
[1:19:15] Speaker 1: straight All-NBA selection. It's the longest active streak in the
[1:19:19] Speaker 1: league currently. Wimby made his first All-NBA team coming one
[1:19:22] Speaker 1: vote shy of a unanimous selection. Alien, as we've mentioned,
[1:19:25] Speaker 1: were the unanimous defensive player of the year. First team
[1:19:28] Speaker 1: all defensive pick as well. Luka and Cade Cunningham rounded
[1:19:32] Speaker 1: out the first team after being granted extraordinary circumstances exceptions
[1:19:36] Speaker 1: to the 65-game minimum. Now let's shift over to the
[1:19:40] Speaker 1: second team, which was led by Jalen Brown, who made
[1:19:44] Speaker 1: his second All-NBA team, was beat out by Cade Cunningham
[1:19:47] Speaker 1: for the final spot on the first team. Joining him
[1:19:49] Speaker 1: on the second team were Kawhi Leonard, Kevin Durant, Jalen Brunson,
[1:19:53] Speaker 1: and Donovan Mitchell. It was KD's 12th career All-NBA selection,
[1:19:57] Speaker 1: first player in history to make All-NBA with five different teams.
[1:20:02] Speaker 1: And now let's shift over to the third team. As
[1:20:04] Speaker 1: you can see, none of these gentlemen got any first
[1:20:06] Speaker 1: place votes, but the third team featured five newcomers, Tyrese Maxey,
[1:20:11] Speaker 1: Jamal Murray, Jalen Johnson, Jalen Duren, and Chet Holmgren. Each
[1:20:16] Speaker 1: made their first All-NBA team. Chet Joyce win me as
[1:20:18] Speaker 1: the only players to make both an All-NBA and All-Defensive team.
[1:20:22] Speaker 1: So we see the three different teams individually. Let's take
[1:20:25] Speaker 1: a look at how the voting panned out collectively on
[1:20:28] Speaker 1: this list. A lot to digest here. But as we
[1:20:32] Speaker 1: look at these results for all the NBA, I don't
[1:20:35] Speaker 1: have my reading glasses, but I can make out some
[1:20:38] Speaker 1: of the big words. Skip, we'll start with you. Did
[1:20:41] Speaker 1: the voters get the all-NBA teams right?
[1:20:44] Speaker 2: No.
[1:20:46] Speaker 9: As soon as I saw it, I immediately tweeted that
[1:20:49] Speaker 9: Jalen Brown should have been first team in place of Luka.
[1:20:53] Speaker 2: Wow.
[1:20:54] Speaker 9: Jalen Brown had a career year in every statistical category,
[1:20:58] Speaker 9: and when Jason Tatum returned... I thought prematurely, shockingly, but
[1:21:04] Speaker 9: when he returned, Jalen Brown had the Celtics in their
[1:21:08] Speaker 9: gap year, quote-unquote, at 44-21. He did that flying solo,
[1:21:16] Speaker 9: and this is a regular season award, and I don't know, statistically, Luca,
[1:21:22] Speaker 9: I've said this again and again, he's the most inefficient
[1:21:25] Speaker 9: player in the league. It's hard to win with him.
[1:21:28] Speaker 9: I know the Lakers got on a roll, but He
[1:21:31] Speaker 9: led the league in turnovers per game. He led the
[1:21:33] Speaker 9: league in shots attempted, three-point shots attempted. He got to
[1:21:37] Speaker 9: the free throw line more than even SGA got to
[1:21:39] Speaker 9: the free throw line. And he's an average at best
[1:21:43] Speaker 9: three-point shooter and free throw shooter. And it just doesn't
[1:21:46] Speaker 9: add up to me. I thought Jalen Brown did more
[1:21:49] Speaker 9: during the regular season than Luka did and deserved first team.
[1:21:57] Speaker 1: Spraggy, as you look at these all-NBA teams, Do you
[1:22:00] Speaker 1: agree with Skip saying that Jalen Brown deserved to get
[1:22:02] Speaker 1: the nod?
[1:22:03] Speaker 3: For sure. This is media bias to me. Jalen Brown
[1:22:08] Speaker 3: deserved to be first team. Just the fact that these
[1:22:12] Speaker 3: guys didn't even play 65 games and they still make
[1:22:18] Speaker 3: first team. You got guys like Ant-Man because the media
[1:22:21] Speaker 3: don't like certain ways he can't be in this category.
[1:22:25] Speaker 2: His extraordinary circumstances request was denied. Denied.
[1:22:30] Speaker 3: It's got to be something to it.
[1:22:31] Speaker 2: Was K short?
[1:22:32] Speaker 3: K was short?
[1:22:33] Speaker 2: K was a bleep.
[1:22:34] Speaker 3: Both of them got it, but Ant-Man didn't.
[1:22:37] Speaker 4: I think K had like 53 eligible games.
[1:22:39] Speaker 3: It shows who really runs things. Jalen Brown been balling
[1:22:44] Speaker 3: all year. Now, you know, both two-way player, team that
[1:22:51] Speaker 3: wasn't even supposed to be in the lottery this year
[1:22:54] Speaker 3: made it to the second team that was second in
[1:22:58] Speaker 3: the East. Did everything he could. When you fight against
[1:23:05] Speaker 3: Stephen A, you get second team.
[1:23:08] Speaker 4: You believe Jalen Brown a victim of media?
[1:23:10] Speaker 3: Stephen A showed his power to me right here. This
[1:23:14] Speaker 3: is what this means.
[1:23:15] Speaker 4: Stephen A, Stephen B, and Stephen C, perhaps.
[1:23:17] Speaker 2: All three of them.
[1:23:18] Speaker 3: All three of them show their power.
[1:23:21] Speaker 4: Josh Smith might have been making some call.
[1:23:22] Speaker 2: You don't know. If you don't do all 65 games,
[1:23:27] Speaker 2: you shouldn't be first. Stop blaming Stephen A, B, and C, man.
[1:23:31] Speaker 2: It ain't his fault, man.
[1:23:33] Speaker 3: You shouldn't be on first team if you don't make it.
[1:23:35] Speaker 3: The exception should be you either make second or third
[1:23:39] Speaker 3: if you don't do all 65.
[1:23:41] Speaker 2: Oh, it's automatic. You know first team.
[1:23:44] Speaker 3: Yeah, that should be the exception.
[1:23:46] Speaker 1: And you can't... So if you don't hit the 65,
[1:23:48] Speaker 1: but you get the extraordinary certainties, I was going to
[1:23:49] Speaker 1: ask you that. She was eligible for all NBA, but
[1:23:52] Speaker 1: not for.
[1:23:53] Speaker 2: Give the guys that did it.
[1:23:54] Speaker 4: Yeah.
[1:23:55] Speaker 2: I would put Brunson and Jalen Brown.
[1:23:57] Speaker 4: Yes, for sure.
[1:23:58] Speaker 2: First team.
[1:23:59] Speaker 3: Okay.
[1:24:00] Speaker 2: I would say those. This is crazy, man. And.
[1:24:03] Speaker 4: You got to do it for everybody.
[1:24:05] Speaker 2: I put Maxie up to second team.
[1:24:06] Speaker 3: I want to know what makes them be like.
[1:24:07] Speaker 4: Kade and Luka.
[1:24:08] Speaker 9: Okay, Kade and Luka.
[1:24:10] Speaker 4: Drop them down to second team.
[1:24:11] Speaker 3: Yeah.
[1:24:11] Speaker 2: Because of the extreme circumstances. Jalen played. Jalen played.
[1:24:15] Speaker 3: Jalen played.
[1:24:16] Speaker 2: Jalen, both Jalen's played very, very well this year. They
[1:24:21] Speaker 2: are deserving. I'm not saying Luke and Cade are not deserving.
[1:24:25] Speaker 2: They play well, too. They play very well. Piss is
[1:24:29] Speaker 2: top seed in the league. Very well. But he didn't finish.
[1:24:32] Speaker 4: The rules are the rules. The rules are the rules.
[1:24:35] Speaker 1: They followed the rules and adhered to them and got
[1:24:37] Speaker 1: the exception granted.
[1:24:37] Speaker 2: But the fact that you had to foul knowing that
[1:24:40] Speaker 2: you did load manage during the season, you did set
[1:24:44] Speaker 2: out certain games. Cade had the collapsed lung actually came
[1:24:47] Speaker 2: back earlier than expected.
[1:24:49] Speaker 3: But what makes people be like, These two deserve it,
[1:24:52] Speaker 3: and Ant-Man can't get the exception.
[1:24:54] Speaker 2: Right.
[1:24:54] Speaker 3: I don't know. How does that work?
[1:24:57] Speaker 2: Because Ant-Man deserves second, third team. For sure.
[1:25:00] Speaker 3: Put him on third team.
[1:25:01] Speaker 2: For sure. Over Chet, for sure. Chet, I don't know.
[1:25:05] Speaker 2: I'm not going to say he's not deserving. He played...
[1:25:07] Speaker 2: the way he needed to play to get acknowledged. But
[1:25:11] Speaker 2: Danny Ivea played very well this year. If I had
[1:25:15] Speaker 2: to put somebody in place of him, it would be him.
[1:25:17] Speaker 9: But you know what about Chet? Seriously, against everybody but Wimby,
[1:25:22] Speaker 9: he's an all-star.
[1:25:23] Speaker 2: No, seriously. He played well.
[1:25:25] Speaker 9: Like, he'll play big against other teams.
[1:25:27] Speaker 2: But all-star, are you top 15 in the league? Yeah,
[1:25:30] Speaker 2: a lot of.
[1:25:30] Speaker 3: These guys wouldn't be in there if it wasn't for that.
[1:25:32] Speaker 4: Made the all-star team.
[1:25:33] Speaker 2: I'm saying, he's an all-star, but are you top 15
[1:25:36] Speaker 2: in the league? And we're saying, oh, man, you're one
[1:25:38] Speaker 2: of them. It's tough. It's tough.
[1:25:41] Speaker 3: If you know he would have been an all-ABA team, too.
[1:25:45] Speaker 2: Did Jalen Durden deserve it after what he did in
[1:25:48] Speaker 2: the playoffs? I mean, regular season. I know. I know.
[1:25:51] Speaker 2: So that's what we're saying as far as what you did, Chet,
[1:25:54] Speaker 2: what you did during the season.
[1:25:55] Speaker 9: Yeah.
[1:25:56] Speaker 2: Everybody except for Wimby played well.
[1:25:57] Speaker 9: But what Chet did against Phoenix in the playoffs and
[1:26:00] Speaker 9: even against your Lakers, he played big.
[1:26:03] Speaker 2: Played well. Seriously.
[1:26:04] Speaker 4: Mm-hmm. I probably would have put Brown on third team.
[1:26:08] Speaker 5: Would you?
[1:26:09] Speaker 2: Yeah.
[1:26:09] Speaker 4: Brown not eligible.
[1:26:11] Speaker 1: Did not get his extraordinary circumstances granted, even though he
[1:26:13] Speaker 1: was old and had sciaticus.
[1:26:15] Speaker 4: Did not.
[1:26:17] Speaker 2: Sciaticus. Multiple sciaticus.
[1:26:21] Speaker 4: I'm definitely taking Luka out the first team. I'm putting
[1:26:23] Speaker 4: Jalen Brown there.
[1:26:23] Speaker 3: Yeah, for sure.
[1:26:25] Speaker 4: Luka led the league in scoring. Yeah, that's fine.
[1:26:28] Speaker 3: That's all he did.
[1:26:29] Speaker 4: Slovenian Jesus.
[1:26:29] Speaker 3: Everybody talk about his defense.
[1:26:30] Speaker 4: Because I got somebody else that was playing both sides
[1:26:32] Speaker 4: of it.
[1:26:32] Speaker 1: Family man went to Slovenia for the birth of his daughter,
[1:26:35] Speaker 1: which is why he Missed the game that would have
[1:26:37] Speaker 1: made him eligible.
[1:26:39] Speaker 2: Yeah, Ant-Man missing from this list, man.
[1:26:41] Speaker 3: Yeah, this is crazy.
[1:26:42] Speaker 1: Highest point per game scoring in March as well, just
[1:26:44] Speaker 1: in case you guys care.
[1:26:46] Speaker 2: 15-2. Hey, Denny needs some shout-out too, man.
[1:26:50] Speaker 3: He played very, very well this year.
[1:26:52] Speaker 4: Danny Abdi or Scottie Ball?
[1:26:53] Speaker 2: Danny Abdi, Portland. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. He played very well.
[1:26:57] Speaker 2: Next year, young fella. What you guys think?
[1:27:01] Speaker 4: Yeah, I mean, they got it right. I can't really.
[1:27:08] Speaker 4: Got it right by and large. I mean, Jokic, I mean.
[1:27:11] Speaker 2: We were a six-way first team. Kawhi played pretty big.
[1:27:15] Speaker 2: Kawhi balled out.
[1:27:17] Speaker 3: Kawhi balled out.
[1:27:18] Speaker 2: First year, he actually made it all the way through.
[1:27:22] Speaker 2: Showed great promise. So who would you take off and
[1:27:26] Speaker 2: put Ant-Man on for? Chet?
[1:27:29] Speaker 3: You would say Chet? Mm-hmm.
[1:27:32] Speaker 4: Oh, man. I can't say Chet because he's the one.
[1:27:35] Speaker 3: I'd take Murray off, yeah.
[1:27:37] Speaker 4: He's going to get in because it's going to have
[1:27:38] Speaker 4: to be like Jamal Murray.
[1:27:40] Speaker 3: Yeah, I'll say Murray or Jalen.
[1:27:42] Speaker 4: Jamal Murray, though, very, very impressive season.
[1:27:45] Speaker 2: What are Ant-Man's numbers? He was fourth or fifth in
[1:27:49] Speaker 2: the season.
[1:27:49] Speaker 8: Wasn't eligible, though. He probably would have made it had
[1:27:51] Speaker 8: he been. I mean, Chess, like what, 17 points? I'll
[1:27:54] Speaker 8: take Jamal Murray.
[1:27:56] Speaker 1: So Ant-Man averaged 29 in five seasons, but only played
[1:28:00] Speaker 1: 61 games.
[1:28:01] Speaker 4: Oh, so my bad story? No, I would take Kevin
[1:28:03] Speaker 4: Durant off and put Kevin Durant 13th.
[1:28:05] Speaker 2: 13th Kevin Durant? Kevin Durant averaged 26th. Kevin Durant averaged 26th, 6th,
[1:28:08] Speaker 2: and 5 assists.
[1:28:11] Speaker 4: And Donovan averaged like 28th.
[1:28:13] Speaker 2: 52-41, 87th.
[1:28:13] Speaker 3: I averaged like 28th.
[1:28:13] Speaker 2: Brunson averaged like 28th. Maxie averaged like 28.
[1:28:28] Speaker 3: I'll take KD off. I'll put KD on 13.
[1:28:34] Speaker 4: And then put Ant on the second.
[1:28:36] Speaker 2: Yeah, Ant averaging 29 is insane.
[1:28:39] Speaker 3: Ant not.
[1:28:40] Speaker 2: Come on, man. That's insane.
[1:28:40] Speaker 3: How many games did Luka play?
[1:28:42] Speaker 2: 63. Yeah, 63 or 64, I believe.
[1:28:44] Speaker 1: That's crazy.
[1:28:46] Speaker 2: Yeah, Ant man got to go second team.
[1:28:48] Speaker 4: That's crazy. Luka, 64 games, averaged 34, 8 assists, 8 rebounds. 34,
[1:28:51] Speaker 4: 8 rebounds?
[1:28:57] Speaker 2: Nasty work. But if he does meet the criteria, he
[1:29:03] Speaker 2: got to be first team.
[1:29:08] Speaker 8: I'm still taking him out for Jalen Brown, though, just
[1:29:10] Speaker 8: because of what he did.
[1:29:12] Speaker 2: I'm taking Cade. I already said this. I said, you
[1:29:14] Speaker 2: leave Luka. You got to leave Luka because he led
[1:29:16] Speaker 2: the league.
[1:29:17] Speaker 3: And I'm like, Cade.
[1:29:20] Speaker 2: Even though he had a great year leading his team,
[1:29:23] Speaker 2: he did not play better basketball than Jalen Brown.
[1:29:25] Speaker 4: Yeah.
[1:29:25] Speaker 2: Jalen played better basketball.
[1:29:27] Speaker 4: No, but K played better basketball than Luka, though. I
[1:29:32] Speaker 4: get the 34.
[1:29:33] Speaker 2: It wasn't just 34. It was 8 and 7.
[1:29:36] Speaker 4: I get that, but I got... I'm number one. I'm
[1:29:39] Speaker 4: number one and they didn't even have us.
[1:29:42] Speaker 2: Like I said, we're not talking about the team's success.
[1:29:43] Speaker 2: We're just talking about playing.
[1:29:44] Speaker 3: Why is Wimby in there then?
[1:29:45] Speaker 2: He played great basketball.
[1:29:47] Speaker 4: 24!
[1:29:52] Speaker 2: He was a unanimous defensive player.
[1:29:54] Speaker 3: But he averaged 24 in the list.
[1:29:56] Speaker 2: He averaged 24. Talk about points, bro.
[1:29:59] Speaker 4: K didn't play great basketball.
[1:30:01] Speaker 3: 8 and 7. Victor averaged 24 and what? 8? 12.
[1:30:05] Speaker 3: 24 and 12? 24, 12, and 5 or something. 5
[1:30:08] Speaker 3: and 3?
[1:30:08] Speaker 4: Wait, K didn't play great basketball? Not better.
[1:30:14] Speaker 2: I say he didn't play better basketball than Jalen Brown.
[1:30:17] Speaker 4: He played better basketball than Luka, though.
[1:30:18] Speaker 2: I don't think so.
[1:30:19] Speaker 3: Is Wimmy then hype himself up towards the end? Is
[1:30:22] Speaker 3: Wimmy then hype himself up towards the end? He should
[1:30:25] Speaker 3: be second team.
[1:30:26] Speaker 2: Second team?
[1:30:27] Speaker 4: Yeah.
[1:30:27] Speaker 2: You stand on that?
[1:30:28] Speaker 4: Yeah.
[1:30:28] Speaker 2: You just want to sound crazy.
[1:30:29] Speaker 3: No, I feel like Kade.
[1:30:30] Speaker 2: You sound crazy. Kade had a better year. You're dumb, bro.
[1:30:33] Speaker 2: Number one.
[1:30:34] Speaker 4: I mean.
[1:30:34] Speaker 2: How about Victor? The alien.
[1:30:37] Speaker 3: Wimmy got a way better team than Detroit.
[1:30:39] Speaker 2: But who's better? Who's better than Wimby, Nicola, and Shea? Look,
[1:30:44] Speaker 2: it says 99, bro.
[1:30:45] Speaker 3: That's hype, man. We hyping this man, bro.
[1:30:48] Speaker 2: So what is the 100 and 100? Is Joker hype?
[1:30:51] Speaker 3: No, we haven't.
[1:30:52] Speaker 2: That's proven.
[1:30:52] Speaker 4: No, that's proven.
[1:30:53] Speaker 3: This is one year of him doing it.
[1:30:55] Speaker 4: This is hype, bro.
[1:30:56] Speaker 2: He averaged the same amount for three years straight.
[1:30:59] Speaker 3: This is hype, bro.
[1:31:00] Speaker 2: What are you talking about? What are you talking about, bro?
[1:31:04] Speaker 3: Three years straight. It's still 24.
[1:31:07] Speaker 2: So because it's 24. Compared to everybody else's numbers, you
[1:31:11] Speaker 2: got 34, you got... Who else up there is unanimous
[1:31:16] Speaker 2: defensive player of the year, bro? Who else up there
[1:31:20] Speaker 2: is unanimous defensive player of the year?
[1:31:22] Speaker 4: What are you talking about? Both sides of the ball, bro.
[1:31:26] Speaker 2: You just said Jalen Brown deserves because he played both
[1:31:29] Speaker 2: sides of the ball.
[1:31:30] Speaker 9: I do.
[1:31:30] Speaker 4: I believe it, yeah.
[1:31:31] Speaker 2: Cade Cunningham played both sides of the ball. What the
[1:31:34] Speaker 2: hell are you saying about Victor? You're just going to
[1:31:36] Speaker 2: surpass that part? So what? None of them were unanimous
[1:31:41] Speaker 2: defensive player of the year. For the first time ever.
[1:31:45] Speaker 2: First time ever, bro.
[1:31:47] Speaker 4: Hey, I ain't going to front. I'm surprised Wimby didn't
[1:31:48] Speaker 4: get 100. Me too. He's the one dude. I think
[1:31:52] Speaker 4: Justin Tremendous.
[1:31:53] Speaker 3: That's hype.
[1:31:54] Speaker 2: I seen the clip, but I didn't listen to it.
[1:31:56] Speaker 2: I didn't want to hear it.
[1:31:57] Speaker 4: Oh, I'm like, because I don't know why he got 99.
[1:31:59] Speaker 4: That's hype. No, no, no, no.
[1:32:02] Speaker 2: Xenophobia.
[1:32:03] Speaker 4: I ain't going to do that. I ain't going to
[1:32:05] Speaker 4: do that. Wimpy had a crazy regular season.
[1:32:08] Speaker 2: Crazy, man. He played well.
[1:32:09] Speaker 4: Played good basketball.
[1:32:11] Speaker 2: I give him that.
[1:32:12] Speaker 4: He turned that shit around.
[1:32:13] Speaker 2: And I'm not saying Cade didn't play good basketball. When
[1:32:15] Speaker 2: you say he played better than Luka and all, it's
[1:32:18] Speaker 2: like Jalen Brown assessing that whole season. He played great basketball.
[1:32:23] Speaker 8: But Cade kept it there. with nobody else that can score.
[1:32:27] Speaker 2: I get it.
[1:32:27] Speaker 4: Like nothing.
[1:32:28] Speaker 2: Not taking anything away from them. And they both play
[1:32:30] Speaker 2: both sides of the ball, all of that. But you
[1:32:34] Speaker 2: can't top 35 points a game, eight rebounds, seven assists.
[1:32:38] Speaker 4: And your team is in fifth.
[1:32:40] Speaker 2: Fourth.
[1:32:41] Speaker 3: Fourth.
[1:32:42] Speaker 2: In the tough west.
[1:32:43] Speaker 4: In the very tough west.
[1:32:45] Speaker 2: Very tough west. And you're Luka. And you have a
[1:32:47] Speaker 2: history of doing this. You've been in five straight All-NBAs.
[1:32:52] Speaker 9: But the problem with Luka, Luka... leads the league by
[1:32:56] Speaker 9: far in usage rate. So he's just going to have
[1:32:58] Speaker 9: the ball dribble and dribble and dribble. So the numbers
[1:33:01] Speaker 9: are just going to go up and up and up.
[1:33:03] Speaker 2: How many point guards have high usage rate? Jalen Brunson,
[1:33:06] Speaker 2: Tyrese Maxey, Donovan Mitchell. There's a lot of ball hosts.
[1:33:11] Speaker 9: Luka is far and away the most.
[1:33:13] Speaker 4: 100%.
[1:33:13] Speaker 2: It's the Lakers. It's the Lake Show. You have to.
[1:33:15] Speaker 4: You get it.
[1:33:17] Speaker 9: And Luka can be a liability on defense.
[1:33:20] Speaker 2: He can, or is. Which, why his offensive numbers overshadow
[1:33:25] Speaker 2: his defensive performances. Same with Joker.
[1:33:29] Speaker 9: Okay, but Cade leads his team to win the East
[1:33:32] Speaker 9: by four games. That's pretty impressive to me.
[1:33:34] Speaker 4: It is.
[1:33:35] Speaker 2: It is. I'm not going to lie. It is. But
[1:33:38] Speaker 2: Jalen Brown did the impossible.
[1:33:41] Speaker 4: Yeah, but you just said Jalen Brown played better than Luka.
[1:33:44] Speaker 2: He played better basketball than both of them, K and Luka.
[1:33:47] Speaker 3: Okay.
[1:33:49] Speaker 2: K and Luka. He played better basketball.
[1:33:52] Speaker 3: It was number two, too.
[1:33:53] Speaker 2: I'm not taking K off.
[1:33:54] Speaker 4: Yep.
[1:33:55] Speaker 8: Number two. It's hard to stay number one with that team.
[1:33:57] Speaker 8: And then we saw them in the playoffs.
[1:33:58] Speaker 4: They still struggled, dog. Like, K over there just, man.
[1:34:02] Speaker 2: That's what I was waiting for him to take it over.
[1:34:04] Speaker 2: Take it over the top so it can be undeniable
[1:34:07] Speaker 2: for me.
[1:34:07] Speaker 4: What do you mean? When?
[1:34:08] Speaker 2: Because you've been doing it all season. You was four
[1:34:10] Speaker 2: games over in the East leading everybody.
[1:34:12] Speaker 3: I got hurt.
[1:34:13] Speaker 9: Boom.
[1:34:14] Speaker 2: Now you get to the playoffs and you can't do
[1:34:17] Speaker 2: what you was doing during the season.
[1:34:19] Speaker 3: Well, who did that, though? Fucking Luka. I mean, Joker
[1:34:23] Speaker 3: got put out first round.
[1:34:24] Speaker 2: Yeah, but who? Like you just asked, who's doing that?
[1:34:26] Speaker 2: There's only two teams left.
[1:34:28] Speaker 4: But K wouldn't do that against Orlando? What's happening?
[1:34:33] Speaker 2: Did you win the series?
[1:34:35] Speaker 4: Yes, he beat Orlando.
[1:34:36] Speaker 2: And then you lost to who?
[1:34:37] Speaker 4: And then we lost in seven.
[1:34:39] Speaker 2: To the Cavs.
[1:34:40] Speaker 4: Yeah, to the Cavs.
[1:34:40] Speaker 2: Right, so you didn't get it. You didn't take it
[1:34:42] Speaker 2: over the top.
[1:34:43] Speaker 3: Yeah, but.
[1:34:44] Speaker 2: If Cade was still playing right now.
[1:34:46] Speaker 3: So if Victor lose, he didn't take it over the top?
[1:34:49] Speaker 2: No, he didn't take it over the top. Of course not.
[1:34:51] Speaker 8: I know, so what did I got to do with
[1:34:52] Speaker 8: Cade still being there? Because Jalen Brown didn't. Cade 28
[1:34:55] Speaker 8: and 8.
[1:34:58] Speaker 4: Come on.
[1:34:59] Speaker 2: We already had this conversation.
[1:35:01] Speaker 4: We know that.
[1:35:02] Speaker 2: His great basketball stopped.
[1:35:05] Speaker 4: We cannot do those excuses.
[1:35:08] Speaker 2: I'm not giving it.
[1:35:09] Speaker 4: I'm just saying.
[1:35:10] Speaker 2: He was playing great basketball up until the playoffs. Jalen Brown.
[1:35:15] Speaker 2: He was playing great basketball.
[1:35:17] Speaker 8: Jason Taylor was playing good.
[1:35:21] Speaker 2: Up until game five. We was lobbying for Jalen Brown. Yeah.
[1:35:25] Speaker 2: And MVP.
[1:35:26] Speaker 4: No, facts, facts, facts.
[1:35:27] Speaker 2: So KK was in there, but then he dropped off.
[1:35:30] Speaker 4: That's all, Stephen. He dropped.
[1:35:32] Speaker 2: But this is before the lung thing happened.
[1:35:34] Speaker 3: He dropped. If you didn't get into it with Stephen A.,
[1:35:36] Speaker 3: Jalen Brown would be on there.
[1:35:37] Speaker 4: No, that was after.
[1:35:38] Speaker 8: No, it was after, for sure. He got into it after.
[1:35:42] Speaker 8: They just did this on Monday. No, the boat's been in. Yeah,
[1:35:46] Speaker 8: the boat's.
[1:35:47] Speaker 2: Been in a long time.
[1:35:50] Speaker 4: The boat's submitted right after playing.
[1:35:54] Speaker 1: The league's slowly releasing the various teams and winners to
[1:35:59] Speaker 1: build up.
[1:35:59] Speaker 3: You don't think somebody can say, man, you better change
[1:36:01] Speaker 3: that shit or it's over?
[1:36:03] Speaker 4: No. No, they can't do that.
[1:36:05] Speaker 2: Y'all starting shit. The League of Integrity.
[1:36:08] Speaker 3: Y'all crazy if you think that can't happen.
[1:36:11] Speaker 2: Can't happen, man. Can't happen, man. He did it before.
[1:36:15] Speaker 3: He did it before.
[1:36:17] Speaker 2: You're trying to get LeBron changed, but LeBron.
[1:36:21] Speaker 3: Was too powerful.
[1:36:25] Speaker 4: He had that one vote for LeBron.
[1:36:27] Speaker 2: Sorry. Yeah.
[1:36:28] Speaker 4: Allegations. Yeah. Go ahead.
[1:36:36] Speaker 2: I'm surprised Donovan Mitchell got a first-place vote. No, he
[1:36:40] Speaker 2: was hoping.
[1:36:41] Speaker 4: He was hoping.
[1:36:42] Speaker 2: Not for first team.
[1:36:44] Speaker 3: Damn, Bronson didn't get one vote.
[1:36:46] Speaker 2: Bronson didn't get one. I think Bronson was better.
[1:36:50] Speaker 4: Nah, but you know what happened? I told you.
[1:36:51] Speaker 8: I just told y'all after the cup game. Remember they
[1:36:54] Speaker 8: had that stretch where it was looking.
[1:36:56] Speaker 4: Oh, they had looked real bad. Remember, it looked so
[1:36:58] Speaker 4: bad to where they was going to have to make
[1:36:59] Speaker 4: a change.
[1:37:01] Speaker 9: Hey, if Steve and I controlled this, Jalen Brunson would be.
[1:37:04] Speaker 2: On the first team. He would be in the first
[1:37:06] Speaker 2: team for sure. For sure. Howard Wendell. See, a cat
[1:37:09] Speaker 2: would probably be in there. Third team instead of Chet. Damn,
[1:37:12] Speaker 2: Tal's not even. Meow.
[1:37:14] Speaker 4: Yeah, what about Tal?
[1:37:15] Speaker 3: Yeah, Tal should be.
[1:37:16] Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean. What was his numbers? Is his numbers
[1:37:20] Speaker 2: better than Chet's?
[1:37:22] Speaker 4: I mean, Chet's the lowest, right? 17.
[1:37:25] Speaker 2: Cat averaged 20. 12.
[1:37:27] Speaker 3: No Devin Booker. 30,000 games to start.
[1:37:29] Speaker 2: 20 and 12. Wait, wait, 20 and 12?
[1:37:30] Speaker 4: 20 and 12.
[1:37:32] Speaker 3: Shooting what?
[1:37:32] Speaker 4: 50% from the field, 37%.
[1:37:33] Speaker 1: Ooh. 86% from the free throw.
[1:37:37] Speaker 4: Nah, Cat should be on here.
[1:37:38] Speaker 2: Real numbers right there.
[1:37:39] Speaker 4: Cat should be on here.
[1:37:40] Speaker 8: And he had to take a roll that he wasn't
[1:37:41] Speaker 8: comfortable with.
[1:37:42] Speaker 2: What happened to Devin Booker? Devin Booker didn't make. Chet
[1:37:45] Speaker 2: was averaging 17 and 9. I think Devin Booker was eligible.
[1:37:47] Speaker 3: I'm not sure.
[1:37:48] Speaker 4: He's a superstar, Brandon.
[1:37:49] Speaker 9: Okay, but Chet had the second most blocks. And it
[1:37:52] Speaker 9: wasn't close to what Wimby had, but he is the
[1:37:54] Speaker 9: second best shot blocker.
[1:37:55] Speaker 2: Are we saying defense mattered with this book? Yes.
[1:37:58] Speaker 3: All right.
[1:37:59] Speaker 2: Makes sense. Makes sense. And their number one team. You
[1:38:03] Speaker 2: need to replace that second option. Yep.
[1:38:06] Speaker 3: How many games they play?
[1:38:09] Speaker 2: Is Jalen Johnson deserving? Had a very good year.
[1:38:16] Speaker 4: No, I'll take him off for Cat.
[1:38:19] Speaker 3: Yeah, he's too young.
[1:38:20] Speaker 4: I'm giving Cat that.
[1:38:21] Speaker 2: 22, 10, and 8. Yeah, but Cat 20 and 12 and. 22, 10,
[1:38:23] Speaker 2: and 8.
[1:38:23] Speaker 4: Oh, wait, wait, wait. Wait, wait, wait. it again.
[1:38:31] Speaker 2: 22, 10 rebounds and 8 assists. Oh, never mind.
[1:38:36] Speaker 4: On 49%.
[1:38:36] Speaker 3: Oh, yeah. And it was the fifth seed, right?
[1:38:39] Speaker 2: Atlanta? No, no.
[1:38:40] Speaker 4: They was in the playing.
[1:38:41] Speaker 2: They was playing?
[1:38:42] Speaker 3: No, Atlanta played New York.
[1:38:43] Speaker 2: No, I think they were. No, they were. No, no, no.
[1:38:46] Speaker 2: You're right.
[1:38:46] Speaker 4: No, he's in there.
[1:38:47] Speaker 2: Yeah, he's in there. He got that.
[1:38:48] Speaker 4: Crazy.
[1:38:49] Speaker 1: All right, well, let's talk about something else we talked
[1:38:51] Speaker 1: about after that, or throughout that Pistons series after it
[1:38:54] Speaker 1: came to a close. So Jalen Duren made his first
[1:38:56] Speaker 1: All-NBA team, which means he's now eligible to sign a
[1:38:59] Speaker 1: five-year Supermax with the Pistons worth $ 287 million. So Duren
[1:39:04] Speaker 1: averaged 20 points and 11 rebounds while shooting 65% from
[1:39:07] Speaker 1: the field during the regular season, but those numbers dropped
[1:39:10] Speaker 1: in the playoffs. He put up 10 points, 9 rebounds
[1:39:13] Speaker 1: on 51% shooting in the postseason.
[1:39:15] Speaker 4: Pistons had a minus.
[1:39:16] Speaker 1: 3 net rating when he played And we're plus 7.8
[1:39:20] Speaker 1: with him on the bench. So in his end-of-year interview,
[1:39:24] Speaker 1: Piston's president of basketball ops, Trajan Langdon, had this to
[1:39:27] Speaker 1: say about Durant's future with his team. He said, We
[1:39:29] Speaker 1: look forward to coming together with his representation, getting a
[1:39:32] Speaker 1: deal done, and for him continuing to be a Piston.
[1:39:35] Speaker 1: Langdon was also asked if Durant's postseason performance would impact
[1:39:38] Speaker 1: his extension and said, We'll talk about that for sure.
[1:39:42] Speaker 4: So....
[1:39:45] Speaker 3: Shall we?
[1:39:45] Speaker 4: We'll start with you. I remember him. From Duke. Yeah.
[1:39:49] Speaker 4: The Alaskan assassin. Yeah.
[1:39:50] Speaker 2: Alaskan assassin.
[1:39:52] Speaker 4: Anchorage East.
[1:39:53] Speaker 9: Man.
[1:39:54] Speaker 1: Alaskan light-skinnedness. Started that movement. Should the Pistons Carlos Boozer follow.
[1:40:00] Speaker 1: But should the Pistons give Jalen during the Supermax?
[1:40:04] Speaker 2: Should they?
[1:40:05] Speaker 1: He's now eligible. All-NBA team. Third team All-NBA. They're talking
[1:40:09] Speaker 1: with his representation.
[1:40:11] Speaker 3: He deserve it. He deserve it.
[1:40:12] Speaker 2: Yeah, you can't take them. You know what? One thing
[1:40:15] Speaker 2: to watch the motherfucker money, but it's another thing to
[1:40:18] Speaker 2: say he's not deserving putting the work in that he did,
[1:40:22] Speaker 2: especially the last two seasons growing with the team and
[1:40:25] Speaker 2: all of that. I mean, everybody's out there trying to
[1:40:29] Speaker 2: get the money. So now that he got it, the
[1:40:32] Speaker 2: only difference now is what you're going to do after
[1:40:34] Speaker 2: you get the money. Are you going to play like
[1:40:36] Speaker 2: he played in the playoffs? That's something that you can't
[1:40:39] Speaker 2: really have as an expectation because he did get exposed.
[1:40:44] Speaker 2: So right now The Pistons have to assess whether or
[1:40:47] Speaker 2: not we're going to get the Jalen Durden from the
[1:40:50] Speaker 2: regular season or the Jalen Durden from the playoffs. Who
[1:40:54] Speaker 2: are we paying? And you're not going to know that
[1:40:57] Speaker 2: until after you pay him. So that's like paying AD
[1:41:01] Speaker 2: that $ 250 you pay him. And I said, damn, y'all
[1:41:04] Speaker 2: know that he ain't going to come back being the
[1:41:05] Speaker 2: AD y'all paying. He literally can sit back and go
[1:41:08] Speaker 2: fishing every day and be like, shit, I'm deserving of this.
[1:41:11] Speaker 2: I played well the last three years to earn this.
[1:41:14] Speaker 2: I'm going to get this money. I'm going to take
[1:41:15] Speaker 2: a break.
[1:41:16] Speaker 3: Start doing punk.
[1:41:17] Speaker 2: Yeah, start doing punk. And now he just took a break.
[1:41:21] Speaker 2: This motherfucker ain't even in the gym no more.
[1:41:23] Speaker 4: Oh, my God.
[1:41:24] Speaker 3: I just.
[1:41:25] Speaker 2: I'm just saying. So right now it's like when you give.
[1:41:28] Speaker 2: You're supposed to do that show. You give guys this
[1:41:30] Speaker 2: much money. The prank show.
[1:41:31] Speaker 4: I'm supposed to do it against Gil.
[1:41:33] Speaker 2: What you going to do after you get done? The
[1:41:34] Speaker 2: Anthony Davis?
[1:41:35] Speaker 4: Yeah.
[1:41:35] Speaker 1: That's why you reveal the information. We still could have
[1:41:37] Speaker 1: that episode cracking.
[1:41:40] Speaker 4: Nah.
[1:41:43] Speaker 2: He deserve it, though. Yeah, I think he deserve it.
[1:41:46] Speaker 1: Mr. B, former Piston, Jalen Dern, 22 years old, had
[1:41:50] Speaker 1: a great regular season, made his first All-NBA team, eligible
[1:41:53] Speaker 1: now for that five-year Supermax, worth nearly $ 290 million.
[1:41:57] Speaker 4: Is he deserving of it? I mean, by the rules, yeah.
[1:42:03] Speaker 8: If I'm Detroit Pistons, we're going to have to have
[1:42:06] Speaker 8: some conversations because I think in history, I think he
[1:42:10] Speaker 8: had one of the biggest drop-offs going from 19 points
[1:42:14] Speaker 8: to 10 points in the playoffs, and if I'm going
[1:42:16] Speaker 8: to pay this guy max money like that, you're already
[1:42:19] Speaker 8: showing me who you are when we need you the most.
[1:42:24] Speaker 8: I just feel like if you're going to pay guys,
[1:42:27] Speaker 8: I get we're going to pay guys for 82 games
[1:42:29] Speaker 8: and what they do, but a lot of that should
[1:42:33] Speaker 8: be held accountable to what you do in the playoffs, too,
[1:42:35] Speaker 8: because that's where your money is made. I know they're
[1:42:38] Speaker 8: going to pay them, but For me, it's going to
[1:42:40] Speaker 8: have to be some type of writing in there or
[1:42:42] Speaker 8: something because I'm a dude. It's the biggest drop-off we've
[1:42:46] Speaker 8: ever seen from any superstar, like from any all-star player.
[1:42:48] Speaker 3: What did he do last year in the playoffs?
[1:42:50] Speaker 2: Huh?
[1:42:50] Speaker 3: What did he do last year in the playoffs?
[1:42:51] Speaker 8: I don't know, but he went from 19 to 10
[1:42:53] Speaker 8: points in the playoffs, and that's disgusting. So they're just
[1:42:58] Speaker 8: going to have to figure it out. But, yeah, I mean,
[1:43:00] Speaker 8: you got to pay him because of what he did
[1:43:01] Speaker 8: for 82 games, but.
[1:43:04] Speaker 4: If I'm Detroit, we got to write something.
[1:43:06] Speaker 1: He averaged 12 and 11 in the playoff last year
[1:43:09] Speaker 1: at 21 years old, but shot 65% from the field.
[1:43:12] Speaker 2: Being consistent. Huh? 12 and 10.
[1:43:18] Speaker 4: 12 and 11 last season. 12 and 11, 10.
[1:43:20] Speaker 2: His first postseason. Being consistent in the playoff.
[1:43:22] Speaker 4: Being consistently bad.
[1:43:24] Speaker 2: Been consistent to him. That was good. Two points more. Yeah,
[1:43:28] Speaker 2: two points more to him last year.
[1:43:29] Speaker 3: That's the big thing for Detroit.
[1:43:31] Speaker 4: He had 12 to first and now 10.
[1:43:32] Speaker 2: That's what I'm saying. He's consistent. So he's down. Still
[1:43:35] Speaker 2: in the same range. Don't expect too much from me
[1:43:37] Speaker 2: when playoffs come around. That's what I'm going to give you.
[1:43:41] Speaker 7: No.
[1:43:42] Speaker 2: That's what I'm going to give you. No. Get you
[1:43:44] Speaker 2: a good third leg that's going to come in here
[1:43:46] Speaker 2: and do some more shit. Tobias, watch out. We've paid
[1:43:48] Speaker 2: you enough. That's not a good backup. I hope you
[1:43:50] Speaker 2: got somebody good.
[1:43:53] Speaker 3: That's what it is.
[1:43:55] Speaker 1: So Skip, this whole Jalen Dern situation, well for a Supermax,
[1:43:59] Speaker 1: obviously Pistons fans may feel a certain way about it,
[1:44:02] Speaker 1: but 20 and 11, 65% shooting the regular season did
[1:44:07] Speaker 1: have the playoff drop off, but do you think?
[1:44:11] Speaker 9: If they don't pay him, somebody else will. And he's
[1:44:16] Speaker 9: still a baby to me, but he's a baby bull.
[1:44:20] Speaker 9: And he's a load. And I get what Brandon is
[1:44:23] Speaker 9: saying because that's just scary bad drop. Like that's just frightening.
[1:44:28] Speaker 9: Like it just scares you to the bottom of your
[1:44:32] Speaker 9: soul if you're sitting upstairs in Detroit saying, God, are
[1:44:35] Speaker 9: we going to risk this? But I just don't know
[1:44:38] Speaker 9: how you don't risk it. I just think you have
[1:44:42] Speaker 9: to hope that he grows into his body sort of,
[1:44:47] Speaker 9: you know, psychologically he just grows into his because it's
[1:44:52] Speaker 9: big potential. And I've watched him a lot in the
[1:44:56] Speaker 9: regular season, and there are nights when I think he's
[1:44:59] Speaker 9: going to be really good, like has potential to be
[1:45:03] Speaker 9: an all-star at some point. But I can't defend what
[1:45:08] Speaker 9: you're talking about. And I watched every one of those
[1:45:11] Speaker 9: games against Cleveland, and we're talking about Cade, and they
[1:45:15] Speaker 9: had a home game seven, and they just didn't show up.
[1:45:19] Speaker 9: against James Harden, who also didn't show up, but they
[1:45:22] Speaker 9: showed up less than James Harden did. I don't know
[1:45:25] Speaker 9: how you do that, but it's one of those close
[1:45:30] Speaker 9: your eyes and pay him, I think. Can you get
[1:45:34] Speaker 9: him for a little bit less? But he's eligible for
[1:45:38] Speaker 9: the max, and I just think you don't want to
[1:45:41] Speaker 9: let him go. You don't want to let him hit
[1:45:43] Speaker 9: the market.
[1:45:45] Speaker 2: As an assessment. You've been around the game long enough
[1:45:48] Speaker 2: to be able to compare him to someone. Who would
[1:45:51] Speaker 2: you compare him to, potential-wise?
[1:45:55] Speaker 4: Ben Wallace.
[1:45:56] Speaker 9: It's the classic NBA body. Who did you play with
[1:46:00] Speaker 9: who just was born with an NBA body where you
[1:46:03] Speaker 9: can't teach it or coach it? And he can play
[1:46:06] Speaker 9: with it, too. He can flex it and flaunt it.
[1:46:10] Speaker 4: Antonio McCoy.
[1:46:12] Speaker 2: I don't like McDyche because he can shoot it. I'm
[1:46:15] Speaker 2: thinking Ben Wallace.
[1:46:17] Speaker 3: Ben Wallace.
[1:46:18] Speaker 4: No, wait. Antonio Davis. Is that?
[1:46:20] Speaker 2: Yeah, he was big body, but they were more brutes
[1:46:25] Speaker 2: than He got some type of skill down there. I
[1:46:32] Speaker 2: don't want to say I want to say Kevin Willis.
[1:46:35] Speaker 9: Yeah, now you're going way back.
[1:46:38] Speaker 2: Ben Wallace, Theo Ratliff.
[1:46:40] Speaker 4: What about Alonzo Mourning?
[1:46:41] Speaker 9: I like Theo Ratliff.
[1:46:42] Speaker 2: I like Theo a lot. Yeah, that's a good one. Alonzo.
[1:46:45] Speaker 2: Later in the age, Alonzo. Later in the age, Alonzo?
[1:46:49] Speaker 4: You say he can score, though, right?
[1:46:52] Speaker 2: You say he can score.
[1:46:53] Speaker 4: He can score.
[1:46:55] Speaker 2: He's averaging 20.
[1:46:56] Speaker 4: Oh, yeah, yeah.
[1:46:57] Speaker 2: Okay.
[1:46:57] Speaker 9: 6'10. 6'10.
[1:46:58] Speaker 3: 6'10. You got to pay him, though. In the NBA
[1:47:01] Speaker 3: where the bigs are not like, it's not a big
[1:47:05] Speaker 3: league and you need guys that strong to move their
[1:47:07] Speaker 3: feet that could guard certain players, like a joker, or
[1:47:11] Speaker 3: try to keep up with guys like this. There's only
[1:47:14] Speaker 3: a handful of good bigs in the NBA, and if
[1:47:17] Speaker 3: you find one, I feel like you got to pay them. Also,
[1:47:22] Speaker 3: they're paying guys like Austin Reeves that messed up in
[1:47:26] Speaker 3: the playoffs. You got James Harden and all these type
[1:47:29] Speaker 3: of guys that mess up. It happens. I think you
[1:47:32] Speaker 3: learn from it.
[1:47:33] Speaker 1: Austin Reeves has not been paid yet, though, Swaggy. But
[1:47:36] Speaker 1: they're still talking about paying him.
[1:47:37] Speaker 4: Yeah.
[1:47:38] Speaker 3: His numbers didn't go down. I mean, his numbers went down,
[1:47:41] Speaker 3: but his money didn't go down yet. So I think
[1:47:46] Speaker 3: you pay him. He's a big body. I think you
[1:47:50] Speaker 3: just got to figure out what to do with the
[1:47:51] Speaker 3: other guys. I think you keep him. I think right
[1:47:54] Speaker 3: now I would say he's for sure top 15 big
[1:47:59] Speaker 3: in the league.
[1:48:01] Speaker 1: Top 10. He's a top 15 player in the league. Well,
[1:48:05] Speaker 1: he's top 15. But yeah, I would say top 10.
[1:48:09] Speaker 1: And if you're a top 10 big, you got to
[1:48:12] Speaker 1: put your money in. You don't want nobody else.
[1:48:14] Speaker 4: It ain't hard to be.
[1:48:16] Speaker 3: Top 10 big ain't hard to be.
[1:48:17] Speaker 9: That's what I'm saying.
[1:48:19] Speaker 3: When you find one of them.
[1:48:20] Speaker 2: Yeah, you can't teach big.
[1:48:21] Speaker 3: You can't teach that.
[1:48:23] Speaker 9: Like Oakley, Mahorn, those guys, but they had nasty in
[1:48:27] Speaker 9: them that I don't yet see in this kid. They
[1:48:31] Speaker 9: were enforcers and he's got an enforcer's body without the fuel,
[1:48:36] Speaker 9: the rocket fuel to it. Like Like Oakley and Mahorn,
[1:48:40] Speaker 9: you just didn't mess with them. Nobody messed with them.
[1:48:44] Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, you're talking about guys getting 20 a game, right?
[1:48:47] Speaker 2: So if you're getting 20 in a game and you
[1:48:49] Speaker 2: got this type of body type. Yeah, you're getting 20
[1:48:51] Speaker 2: off of just work. Yeah, just bully.
[1:48:54] Speaker 3: Yes.
[1:48:55] Speaker 2: Straight, brute bully.
[1:48:56] Speaker 4: It's hard to say who to compare him to.
[1:48:58] Speaker 3: What about the guy who.
[1:48:59] Speaker 2: Sits over there a lot, right? Kenyon?
[1:49:02] Speaker 4: Yeah.
[1:49:04] Speaker 2: Well, he didn't have the body type. Kenyon was the jumper.
[1:49:07] Speaker 2: He'd leap and jump.
[1:49:08] Speaker 9: But he played strong, man.
[1:49:10] Speaker 2: Oh, yeah, for sure. For sure. Maybe like a Nene.
[1:49:14] Speaker 3: Yeah, that's... Oh, God.
[1:49:16] Speaker 2: Nene was good, strong as fuck.
[1:49:19] Speaker 3: I was about to say DeAndre Jordan, but he ain't
[1:49:21] Speaker 3: bouncy like that.
[1:49:22] Speaker 2: Al didn't have that body.
[1:49:24] Speaker 4: Al didn't have that body.
[1:49:27] Speaker 2: Because he's strong, big, strong. It's not too many guys
[1:49:32] Speaker 2: that was big, strong, average.
[1:49:33] Speaker 4: Besides Ben Wallace to me.
[1:49:35] Speaker 2: Yeah, Ben didn't average 20.
[1:49:37] Speaker 3: Yeah, that's what I'm saying.
[1:49:39] Speaker 4: I don't think he's compared to anybody. This is a
[1:49:41] Speaker 4: new breed. He is. And you got a lot of
[1:49:44] Speaker 4: young bigs.
[1:49:44] Speaker 2: And it's our expectation of him, too.
[1:49:46] Speaker 3: You got a lot of young bigs coming in, though.
[1:49:49] Speaker 2: 22 years old. They're only 22, Swag. 20 and 10.
[1:49:54] Speaker 2: You ain't no Zach Randolph or no Mark Gasol.
[1:49:57] Speaker 3: I don't want you to do all that soft stuff
[1:49:58] Speaker 3: to me.
[1:49:59] Speaker 2: But still, I mean, 22 has a lot of layers
[1:50:01] Speaker 2: he can add to his game. I mean, we got
[1:50:03] Speaker 2: to keep coming back to Steel.
[1:50:05] Speaker 4: You can't.
[1:50:05] Speaker 3: But you need to punish people.
[1:50:07] Speaker 4: Mr. B, you said one guy at 22? Do some shots.
[1:50:09] Speaker 2: That's true.
[1:50:09] Speaker 4: Just turn in the shot.
[1:50:10] Speaker 3: They not even teach.
[1:50:10] Speaker 5: You can't teach that shit.
[1:50:12] Speaker 3: Dwight was one of them, yeah, but.
[1:50:18] Speaker 2: You can't teach that. Dwight came in from high school
[1:50:21] Speaker 2: doing that shit.
[1:50:22] Speaker 3: Yeah, he did.
[1:50:23] Speaker 4: He was special.
[1:50:23] Speaker 3: But he got stronger, too, though.
[1:50:25] Speaker 2: Yeah, but he was special with knowing how to do
[1:50:28] Speaker 2: it without having you be able to teach it. Shaq
[1:50:31] Speaker 2: was the same. This is Neon Bordeaux. If you don't
[1:50:35] Speaker 2: know who Neon Bordeaux is, go watch. Blue Chips.
[1:50:39] Speaker 4: Very prized recruit from Algiers, Louisiana.
[1:50:41] Speaker 3: They ain't just throwing it down there for you.
[1:50:44] Speaker 2: Right, it's not. And that's why he's not thriving the way.
[1:50:47] Speaker 2: We want him to shoot that mid-range. That's the Antonio
[1:50:51] Speaker 2: McDyess that I'm thinking of that he could be like.
[1:50:54] Speaker 2: But he don't have that I'm going to catch it
[1:50:56] Speaker 2: and shoot it confidence. He don't have that I got this.
[1:51:00] Speaker 2: It's wide open. You got to guard me.
[1:51:02] Speaker 9: You mentioned Dwight Howard. He was only 6'10, but he
[1:51:04] Speaker 9: had shoulders.
[1:51:05] Speaker 2: Oh, man. Man child. Man child. And he had some
[1:51:10] Speaker 2: moves down there. He did. Spin moves. He can dribble.
[1:51:13] Speaker 4: Carl Malone.
[1:51:14] Speaker 9: Carl Malone?
[1:51:15] Speaker 3: I mean, shit. That's a buff man, too.
[1:51:17] Speaker 2: I mean, you're saying, like. But Carl had that jump shot, though.
[1:51:19] Speaker 3: Carl, pick and roll, pick and pop.
[1:51:21] Speaker 4: He can get that.
[1:51:22] Speaker 2: He need to work on that. He work on that.
[1:51:24] Speaker 2: There ain't going to ever be no 10 points in
[1:51:26] Speaker 2: the playoffs.
[1:51:27] Speaker 3: But it's hard.
[1:51:28] Speaker 2: You're too buff. What's not? You're too buff. He got
[1:51:30] Speaker 2: the fucking wrist. You got to work on your touch.
[1:51:32] Speaker 8: Did you see how buff Carl Malone was? He was
[1:51:35] Speaker 8: the mailman. Out there hitting 12-15. That's as you got older, though.
[1:51:39] Speaker 8: He didn't come in that big.
[1:51:40] Speaker 2: Yeah, he didn't come in that big.
[1:51:42] Speaker 3: Yeah, he didn't come in.
[1:51:44] Speaker 4: He looked the size, though. But what I'm saying is
[1:51:47] Speaker 4: he got even bigger and was still hitting that 12-15.
[1:51:50] Speaker 3: Because he already had touch. He already had it coming in.
[1:51:54] Speaker 4: He 22?
[1:51:54] Speaker 3: Even if you get bigger with touch, that's like Wimby.
[1:51:57] Speaker 2: He don't get bigger. What do you call it? Like
[1:51:59] Speaker 2: a freak.
[1:52:00] Speaker 4: Yeah, the Greek freak.
[1:52:00] Speaker 3: They got bigger.
[1:52:02] Speaker 2: But Greek didn't have no touch when he came in,
[1:52:04] Speaker 2: which is why he don't got touch now. So Wimby
[1:52:06] Speaker 2: going to get bigger and he going to keep his touch.
[1:52:08] Speaker 2: I know what you're saying. That's what I'm saying. I
[1:52:10] Speaker 2: know what you're saying. So it's harder to teach the
[1:52:11] Speaker 2: touch as you get more muscle. Yeah. Because you're trying
[1:52:14] Speaker 2: to adjust how to do certain shit.
[1:52:17] Speaker 8: But listen, since we're talking about it, this summer then
[1:52:20] Speaker 8: when he gets paid, that's what he needs to go
[1:52:21] Speaker 8: do then. Like he needs to go shoot a thousand
[1:52:23] Speaker 8: touch shots from 12 to 15 feet. Like if that's,
[1:52:26] Speaker 8: if that's the case, then so go start now. Like
[1:52:29] Speaker 8: you're about to get paid. We already know what you
[1:52:31] Speaker 8: can do.
[1:52:31] Speaker 2: You got to hit this shot.
[1:52:32] Speaker 4: You got to hit this shot for us to be
[1:52:34] Speaker 4: able to give you a.
[1:52:34] Speaker 3: Pay somebody like you to come off the pink and roll.
[1:52:37] Speaker 8: No, I'm not doing, I'm not doing none of that shit.
[1:52:39] Speaker 4: I'm on a golf course. You Detroit.
[1:52:45] Speaker 8: I'm on a golf course.
[1:52:46] Speaker 2: All right.
[1:52:47] Speaker 1: So last thing we'll discuss for today. So we look
[1:52:49] Speaker 1: at those All-NBA teams, one name missing from the list,
[1:52:52] Speaker 1: LeBron James, who did not make an All-NBA team for
[1:52:54] Speaker 1: the first time since 2005, snapping a streak of 21
[1:52:58] Speaker 1: straight All-NBA selection. No other players made All-NBA more than
[1:53:02] Speaker 1: 15 straight times with Kareem, Kobe, and Tim Duncan all
[1:53:05] Speaker 1: tied for that second longest streak. So, Mr. B, when
[1:53:07] Speaker 1: you look at what LeBron was able to accomplish, you
[1:53:10] Speaker 1: talked about going to the finals at 22 years old.
[1:53:12] Speaker 1: Last time he did not make an All-NBA team, 2005,
[1:53:15] Speaker 1: we were still wearing 5X Pro Clubs at that point
[1:53:17] Speaker 1: in life.
[1:53:18] Speaker 9: Yes.
[1:53:18] Speaker 1: Sidekicks, all those things going on. How impressive was LeBron's
[1:53:22] Speaker 1: streak of 21 straight All-NBA team?
[1:53:24] Speaker 2: Couldn't help himself, Skip. He had to ask this question.
[1:53:27] Speaker 2: It's historic. They just bombarded us with this shit all
[1:53:33] Speaker 2: of a sudden. We've heard about epic failures. Go ahead,
[1:53:35] Speaker 2: go ahead, man. Let's just celebrate more of him.
[1:53:38] Speaker 4: No, it's incredible. It's incredible. I mean, for the run
[1:53:41] Speaker 4: that he's had 21 years.
[1:53:43] Speaker 1: He hasn't made it since 2004 was the last time
[1:53:46] Speaker 1: he did not make an All-NBA team.
[1:53:48] Speaker 4: A long run, decades.
[1:53:51] Speaker 8: We was on his couch, and we were talking about
[1:53:53] Speaker 8: his stunt, and Miami was a failure, which is crazy
[1:53:57] Speaker 8: because that means a lot of people's careers, all of
[1:53:59] Speaker 8: our careers or whatever is failures. But just the consistency
[1:54:04] Speaker 8: and his will and, man, just his body. I mean,
[1:54:08] Speaker 8: I can't really explain it. It's something we've never seen.
[1:54:10] Speaker 8: So it was just amazing just to see and just
[1:54:12] Speaker 8: salute to him.
[1:54:15] Speaker 4: Swaggy, let's move over to you. I appreciate her greatness.
[1:54:19] Speaker 2: Oh, man. It's unbelievable what he's did. You just got activated.
[1:54:24] Speaker 2: It seems like you just got activated. Oh, my God.
[1:54:27] Speaker 2: Go ahead. What's that button?
[1:54:31] Speaker 3: He deserves to be all NBA first team with what
[1:54:35] Speaker 3: he's did this year. Playoffs, you see what he did?
[1:54:40] Speaker 4: In the postseason. Definitely make the all-playoff team.
[1:54:42] Speaker 2: Think about it.
[1:54:42] Speaker 4: Look at Marcus Smart.
[1:54:44] Speaker 3: Jackson Hayes.
[1:54:47] Speaker 4: A series win over the Rockets.
[1:54:50] Speaker 3: Shout out to my Shaolin homie.
[1:54:53] Speaker 4: From Japan.
[1:54:54] Speaker 2: That's why I said Shaolin.
[1:54:59] Speaker 4: He's not a triad. Shaolin temples are in China.
[1:55:02] Speaker 2: But think about it. Look at that team.
[1:55:06] Speaker 3: I'm going to say it again. LeBron James as the leader.
[1:55:10] Speaker 3: 41 years old. LeBron 41.
[1:55:13] Speaker 4: Accountable.
[1:55:14] Speaker 2: Luke Kinnar.
[1:55:17] Speaker 3: Marcus Smart, Jackson Hayes, Oxy Hayes, Bootsy Collins.
[1:55:24] Speaker 2: Bootsy Collins. He trying to name the Funkadelic, but he
[1:55:28] Speaker 2: don't remember all their names.
[1:55:32] Speaker 3: Coming off the bench, you got Jake.
[1:55:37] Speaker 4: You got, who else we had?
[1:55:39] Speaker 2: Who else we had? See, y'all, you don't even know.
[1:55:42] Speaker 4: But that's, yeah. Bronny. A testament.
[1:55:43] Speaker 3: Bronny James had to play for the men's. And they
[1:55:46] Speaker 3: beat Houston Rockets. With all they man. He made KD quit.
[1:55:54] Speaker 3: Can I confirm or deny that? A close to full
[1:55:57] Speaker 3: strength adjacent Houston Rockets squad. Yeah, he deserves to be
[1:56:01] Speaker 3: all NBA. Good things Jordan couldn't do with the Wizards.
[1:56:04] Speaker 3: Went to the playoffs.
[1:56:07] Speaker 4: Michael Jeffrey Jordan. Because what was Mike doing?
[1:56:12] Speaker 2: Oh, he was golfing. He was learning how to golf.
[1:56:14] Speaker 3: He was thinking of... New Jordan shoes to come out.
[1:56:17] Speaker 3: I think that was around what? That was Jordan 27
[1:56:20] Speaker 3: around that time? Something like that. He had nothing but time.
[1:56:26] Speaker 3: That's why them shoes was ass then. After 21, them
[1:56:28] Speaker 3: shoes started getting trashed. They just start back getting good
[1:56:34] Speaker 3: at 40 because.
[1:56:35] Speaker 4: He mad at LeBron. So he's like, shit, I got to.
[1:56:37] Speaker 3: Make something good to fuck with LeBron. So I'm just
[1:56:41] Speaker 3: going to make some shoes. What? That's good. What are
[1:56:44] Speaker 3: you talking about?
[1:56:46] Speaker 4: I'm just rambling.
[1:56:48] Speaker 2: The Jordan 1s are still better than anything. These are
[1:56:53] Speaker 2: the first ones.
[1:56:54] Speaker 3: It's like a classic shoe. That's like good.
[1:56:57] Speaker 2: Why do you keep putting them out 40 years later?
[1:56:59] Speaker 1: Now let's move on to our two biggest Bron supporters
[1:57:01] Speaker 1: on this couch shot.
[1:57:02] Speaker 4: I know deep down you love LeBron.
[1:57:04] Speaker 2: Yeah.
[1:57:05] Speaker 4: Ebony and ivory together, a perfect harmony.
[1:57:07] Speaker 1: Rashad, how impressive is LeBron's streak of 21 straight All-NBA teams?
[1:57:13] Speaker 1: When you look back at history, no other player has
[1:57:16] Speaker 1: done it more than 15 times.
[1:57:17] Speaker 3: Oh, that was the question?
[1:57:19] Speaker 2: That was. Oh, my bad.
[1:57:21] Speaker 4: I just heard Brian. I didn't come up with it.
[1:57:23] Speaker 3: I just started talking good about Brian because I heard Brian.
[1:57:27] Speaker 3: My bad.
[1:57:30] Speaker 2: Let me think. Do I want motherfuckers to attack me
[1:57:33] Speaker 2: after this show or not? Yes. Black SUVs?
[1:57:37] Speaker 3: No, Brandon. Stop gassing him to say stuff.
[1:57:41] Speaker 4: No, I want him to be... He's cemetery. Put people
[1:57:46] Speaker 4: in the back. If it ain't impressive, say it. A
[1:57:49] Speaker 4: doctor with a PhD. It's hard to impress this brother.
[1:57:52] Speaker 4: He's impressive. Not impressed by much.
[1:57:54] Speaker 3: He's impressive.
[1:57:55] Speaker 4: It's impressive.
[1:57:56] Speaker 2: To get some good tips. Smoke, yeah, two decades. Right there,
[1:58:01] Speaker 2: there it go, right there.
[1:58:02] Speaker 8: Smoke!
[1:58:02] Speaker 4: I don't know how to do it. Okay.
[1:58:04] Speaker 2: Dubs in the chat!
[1:58:08] Speaker 3: Ain't that what the kids say?
[1:58:09] Speaker 9: Dubs in the chat!
[1:58:12] Speaker 4: A smoke machine currently dealing with something. Damn.
[1:58:17] Speaker 2: Go ahead.
[1:58:19] Speaker 3: Come on.
[1:58:19] Speaker 4: It's spreading out.
[1:58:20] Speaker 3: This smoke is for you.
[1:58:22] Speaker 2: It's my smoke?
[1:58:22] Speaker 4: Yeah.
[1:58:23] Speaker 2: Oh, yeah. Oh, we celebrating somebody.
[1:58:25] Speaker 3: Let's go.
[1:58:26] Speaker 2: It's on you. Let's go.
[1:58:28] Speaker 3: Give me your flowers.
[1:58:29] Speaker 2: I'm giving somebody else flowers. I don't need flowers. We
[1:58:32] Speaker 2: got the smoke on you.
[1:58:32] Speaker 3: Let's go. The smoke is all gravitated towards y'all.
[1:58:37] Speaker 4: What's going on?
[1:58:38] Speaker 2: Is it going now, going to me? Yeah, let's go,
[1:58:40] Speaker 2: let's go, let's go, yeah. Naturally going to.
[1:58:42] Speaker 4: Me, huh?
[1:58:43] Speaker 2: Please do not dunk this movie like Whitney. I'm naturally
[1:58:45] Speaker 2: on fire all the time, huh? Goddamn.
[1:58:48] Speaker 4: Let's go, here we go.
[1:58:48] Speaker 2: I didn't ask for this type of shit. You're going
[1:58:50] Speaker 2: to go cook. No, I mean, yeah, it's, listen, it's historic, man.
[1:58:54] Speaker 2: We ain't seen nothing like this since the other guys
[1:58:58] Speaker 2: who've done it before him, which were Kobe, Kareem. I've
[1:59:01] Speaker 2: never seen that. Who was the other guy? Tim Duncan.
[1:59:05] Speaker 2: These are the guys that were in that same breath.
[1:59:08] Speaker 2: So why not join the Mount Rushmore? I think that's
[1:59:14] Speaker 2: where he belongs. He's put in the work. He's done
[1:59:19] Speaker 2: all the things that we thought that he couldn't do.
[1:59:23] Speaker 2: Made it to the finals ten times and won four
[1:59:27] Speaker 2: of them. And I mean, what more can you ask for?
[1:59:33] Speaker 5: Eight straight.
[1:59:34] Speaker 4: Say eight straight finals.
[1:59:35] Speaker 2: Eight straight finals.
[1:59:35] Speaker 4: Yeah, say that.
[1:59:37] Speaker 2: Was accountable at 22. And my high school man was
[1:59:41] Speaker 2: the man.
[1:59:41] Speaker 3: He was the man.
[1:59:42] Speaker 2: He was the man, homie.
[1:59:44] Speaker 3: Still the man.
[1:59:45] Speaker 2: In high school, he was the man, homie.
[1:59:47] Speaker 4: He still is.
[1:59:48] Speaker 2: He still are.
[1:59:49] Speaker 4: That was just crazy.
[1:59:50] Speaker 2: No, he definitely deserved everything, man. I'm just waiting for
[1:59:53] Speaker 2: this shit to be over with. Wait for this shit
[1:59:57] Speaker 2: to be over with. It's like Fast and the Furious.
[2:00:01] Speaker 2: It's like, God damn, we got another one. Ben Diesel.
[2:00:05] Speaker 4: They said the same thing about Jay-Z. Just keep going.
[2:00:08] Speaker 2: That car's still moving, Ben Diesel. Kobe, 15.
[2:00:11] Speaker 3: Tim Duncan, 15. Shaq, 14.
[2:00:13] Speaker 1: So, Bron, 21.7 assists. Six rebounds this season. But, Skip,
[2:00:16] Speaker 1: let's move on to you.
[2:00:17] Speaker 2: No, MJ.
[2:00:18] Speaker 1: Skip, you've documented the epic failure before I sat on
[2:00:20] Speaker 1: this couch and had to listen to that.
[2:00:22] Speaker 9: Just because I'm in a really good mood today, this
[2:00:25] Speaker 9: is for Nick and Josiah. LeBron James is the longevity goat.
[2:00:31] Speaker 9: That's what he is. He's not the goat goat, but
[2:00:33] Speaker 9: he is the longevity goat.
[2:00:37] Speaker 1: Our editors can clip that the way we need to
[2:00:41] Speaker 1: to push the narrative that we want.
[2:00:43] Speaker 2: We can't even see each other.
[2:00:44] Speaker 9: Because We have never, ever seen a more durable superstar
[2:00:50] Speaker 9: in any sport. And he has been the most blessed
[2:00:54] Speaker 9: athlete ever as far as, and I'm knocking on wood
[2:00:57] Speaker 9: because I don't even like to bring it up, but
[2:00:58] Speaker 9: it's just astounding, staggering, astonishing. He's never had a surgery,
[2:01:04] Speaker 9: not a single knee or Achilles or shoulder or elbow.
[2:01:09] Speaker 9: He's had nothing.
[2:01:10] Speaker 3: Keep going, Skip.
[2:01:11] Speaker 2: Yeah, he had some cramps. He had a couple cramps.
[2:01:14] Speaker 2: Keep going, Skip.
[2:01:15] Speaker 4: They did have to cut the air conditioning.
[2:01:16] Speaker 2: Keep going, Skip.
[2:01:17] Speaker 4: Keep going, man.
[2:01:18] Speaker 2: That's shit. He had to get some electrolytes a couple times.
[2:01:21] Speaker 4: Go ahead, Skip.
[2:01:22] Speaker 9: In that game, what was it, game one at San
[2:01:26] Speaker 9: Antonio in 2014. He was the only one who cramped.
[2:01:30] Speaker 9: I don't know why.
[2:01:31] Speaker 4: The only elite athlete.
[2:01:32] Speaker 2: That's the kryptonite.
[2:01:33] Speaker 4: It's the kryptonite.
[2:01:34] Speaker 3: Kryptonite.
[2:01:35] Speaker 9: But the point is, he did have the greatest age
[2:01:38] Speaker 9: 41 season ever, and it ain't even close. It's just
[2:01:42] Speaker 9: because nobody's ever even gotten close to what he did.
[2:01:47] Speaker 3: I thought I'd never see this day.
[2:01:48] Speaker 9: This year, and I assume we're going to see him
[2:01:50] Speaker 9: for at least one more, and I wouldn't be surprised
[2:01:52] Speaker 9: if we see him for two more. I would not
[2:01:54] Speaker 9: at all be surprised.
[2:01:55] Speaker 4: Don't know where we'll see him yet, Skip, but we
[2:01:57] Speaker 4: will see.
[2:01:58] Speaker 3: Skip needs two more years, LeBron. That's what he's saying.
[2:02:01] Speaker 3: He needs two more years to hate.
[2:02:02] Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah. Shit, why not? Shit, you going to play,
[2:02:06] Speaker 2: we going to hate. Skip, that was beautiful, man.
[2:02:07] Speaker 3: That was very beautiful.
[2:02:09] Speaker 4: Very eloquent. Very well spoken.
[2:02:12] Speaker 2: Skip, that was god damn. Hey, let's give it up, man.
[2:02:14] Speaker 2: Let's go, Skip.
[2:02:15] Speaker 3: That's what we do.
[2:02:17] Speaker 4: Almost made me cry, man. It did make me cry.
[2:02:21] Speaker 2: All that damn hate. I'm crying inside, man. Shit, long awaited.
[2:02:27] Speaker 2: We have done it.
[2:02:28] Speaker 4: We have done it at last.
[2:02:30] Speaker 3: That's what we got to end on that.
[2:02:31] Speaker 1: We don't have to end on that. We appreciate those
[2:02:34] Speaker 1: kind words, Sean. Appreciate those kind words as well. LeBron,
[2:02:36] Speaker 1: if you're watching, appreciate you as well.
[2:02:38] Speaker 2: He is tuned in. We know you're watching, but pretending
[2:02:43] Speaker 2: not to watch.
[2:02:43] Speaker 4: He is tuned in.
[2:02:45] Speaker 1: But shout out to everybody oh wait one more thing
[2:02:47] Speaker 1: before we go I'm sorry we got to show the
[2:02:49] Speaker 1: updated playoff leaderboard oh yeah I gotta be one shout
[2:02:53] Speaker 1: out to our friends over at underdog Powered by underdogs
[2:02:58] Speaker 1: prediction markers.
[2:02:58] Speaker 8: Listen, I have more. Listen, I played more than everybody. So,
[2:03:02] Speaker 8: of course, my score going to look like that.
[2:03:04] Speaker 4: That is not a part of the criteria.
[2:03:06] Speaker 2: You have 37 losses.
[2:03:08] Speaker 8: That's because I've been playing.
[2:03:12] Speaker 2: I've been playing. You got the less losses. I started
[2:03:16] Speaker 2: since day one. You don't have the less losses. Nigga,
[2:03:19] Speaker 2: what are you talking about?
[2:03:20] Speaker 4: He has six.
[2:03:22] Speaker 8: Right, that's because they missed. You guys missed. I've been
[2:03:25] Speaker 8: playing since day one.
[2:03:26] Speaker 2: If he's doing it like that. We're talking about the
[2:03:28] Speaker 2: less losses. We're talking about the most losses. That's why
[2:03:30] Speaker 2: he's not in. We're talking about who has the most losses.
[2:03:32] Speaker 4: Bro, I've been playing since the play-in. That's not fair.
[2:03:35] Speaker 2: Loss, loss, loss, loss, loss.
[2:03:38] Speaker 4: They wasn't even putting in their bets on the play-in.
[2:03:41] Speaker 4: They were not submitting the picks. They wasn't submitting.
[2:03:44] Speaker 1: Skip, I believe you are not with us tomorrow, so
[2:03:46] Speaker 1: I want to get your pick for game six.
[2:03:47] Speaker 4: I will save the rest for you.
[2:03:50] Speaker 9: By the way, I liked it better when I was
[2:03:52] Speaker 9: four and six so I could represent LeBron's finals.
[2:03:55] Speaker 2: See, Skip, you was doing so good. Skip, you was
[2:03:58] Speaker 2: doing so good. Thank you for acknowledging the World Championship.
[2:04:00] Speaker 2: Thank you for acknowledging. That segment's over, Skip. Good job.
[2:04:04] Speaker 3: Thank you.
[2:04:05] Speaker 2: You was doing so good.
[2:04:08] Speaker 9: Okay, game six at San Antonio. I am sticking with
[2:04:12] Speaker 9: Thunder in seven. I got Spurs big in game six.
[2:04:15] Speaker 4: Ooh.
[2:04:17] Speaker 9: That's the way the Thunder do business.
[2:04:20] Speaker 2: That's the way they do business? Yes, sir. I didn't
[2:04:22] Speaker 2: know that. That's good business.
