The WILD Start of The NBA Offseason STUNS Gil's Arena as the Gil's Arena Crew reacts to the insane start of the NBA Offseason featuring blockbuster trades with NBA Superstars like LaMelo Ball and shocking free agency decisions set to turn the summer in the NBA upside down. They tip things off by reacting to Draymond Green opting out of his contract with the Golden State Warriors to help fuel rumors that LeBron James is looking to join Draymond & Steph Curry on the final stop of his NBA Career and debate if a Big 4 of Steph, Draymond, LeBron and Anthony Davis is enough to make the Warriors contenders in the West as one of this generation's biggest dynasties seeks one more championship. Next, they react to the shocking trade that sent LaMelo Ball to the Minnesota Timberwolves as the Charlotte Hornets moved on from their franchise superstar and break down how a back court of Anthony Edwards and Melo reshapes a Timberwolves team that has narrowly missed out on the NBA Finals in back to back seasons. They also examine the move from the perspective of the Hornets who plunged themselves into another rebuild by selling high on Ball & Miles Bridges, before giving their takes on the unraveling relationship between Jaylen Brown & The Boston Celtics as the Celtics' superstar has found himself in a media circus following the team's failed attempt to trade him for Giannis Antetokounmpo. They discuss how the former Finals MVP handled Bobby Marks & The NBA Analytics community undervaluing his career so far and debate if the franchise cornerstone has played his final game in Green as the Celtics may still look to move on from Brown. Finally, they break down more movement out West as rumors continue to swirl around Kawhi Leonard potentially reuniting with the Toronto Raptors in a trade from the Los Angeles Clippers and react to Austin Reaves signing a max contract to stay with the Los Angeles Lakers ahead of NBA Free Agency and debate if Luka Doncic & Lemon Daddy are the superstar duo the Lakers need to make a push for an NBA Title. [0:02] Speaker 1: Welcome back to Gil's Arena presented by Underdog. Whoa, whoa. Whoa, whoa.
[0:06] Speaker 1: Try to kill me. What happened? No. No, it's hot.
[0:12] Speaker 1: He ordered a hot tea. What? That won't burn my tongue.
[0:17] Speaker 1: You got to blow on it. Unfortunately, it's a hot tea. That's...
[0:31] Speaker 1: You good, Swaggy? Yeah, I'm good. Can you continue? I
[0:34] Speaker 1: don't know. You're trying to low manage today. Yeah, a little.
[0:36] Speaker 1: A little management. How everybody feeling? He's starting the game.
[0:41] Speaker 1: He's getting his Malik Beasley on. He started the game.
[0:48] Speaker 2: We got a full couch here. I see everybody's shoe
[0:49] Speaker 2: game is up to point. Shoe game up to point.
[0:55] Speaker 2: I saw you in those KD-19s last week, so I
[0:58] Speaker 2: had to make a call to Hibbit and Nike.
[1:00] Speaker 1: To get them 19s plugged. I didn't do it. Candy, man. Candy, man.
[1:05] Speaker 1: Did you see him? Hey, he's stupid. It ain't my fault.
[1:14] Speaker 1: I don't feel bad for stupidity at all. I have zero...
[1:17] Speaker 1: What happened to Malik Blee? Nothing. For stupidity. Got him
[1:23] Speaker 1: on text dealing boxes. On a day off. On a
[1:27] Speaker 1: day off.
[1:28] Speaker 2: Well, we got a lot to discuss. This is Gil's
[1:30] Speaker 2: Arena presented by Underdog. I'm merely an award-winning host, Josiah Johnson,
[1:34] Speaker 2: and we're joined by NBA champion of the world, Swaggy P.
[1:37] Speaker 1: McYoung.
[1:45] Speaker 2: Representing Tough Crowd, Tough Crowd University, Tough Crowd Golf, and
[1:48] Speaker 2: all other things Tough Crowd, we got the official country
[1:51] Speaker 2: club member, Mr. Big Brandon Jennings back here with us.
[1:57] Speaker 2: We got one of the biggest legends in the sports
[1:59] Speaker 2: media game, Skip Bayless. On this side of the couch,
[2:05] Speaker 2: we got the distinguished gentleman from Oak Cliff, former number
[2:07] Speaker 2: one pick, Kenya Martin.
[2:11] Speaker 1: I'm just going to tuck mine in.
[2:16] Speaker 2: Last but not least, the man they call Cemetery Larry,
[2:18] Speaker 2: NCAA champion of the world, Rashad McCants.
[2:25] Speaker 1: You weak, pathetic fool. Finish him! With the extra sniff,
[2:37] Speaker 1: I like it. Smell like fire.
[2:40] Speaker 3: I don't really like that one.
[2:44] Speaker 1: You can keep these. You don't like that? No, I don't.
[2:51] Speaker 1: Finish him! Come on in. It was a little too late.
[2:55] Speaker 1: You don't know what you're doing now. You're just doing
[2:58] Speaker 1: anything now. Hit them buttons. Got to get them buttons right.
[3:01] Speaker 1: They can't keep up. Get them buttons right. Never too late.
[3:05] Speaker 1: As long as he dies. As long as he dies,
[3:08] Speaker 1: he dies. Free agency almost a day away, but a
[3:11] Speaker 1: lot of things going down. Here's what's cracking in Gil's
[3:13] Speaker 1: arena today.
[3:15] Speaker 2: The Wolves made a blockbuster deal with the Hornets to
[3:17] Speaker 2: land LaMelo Ball, our Ant-Man and LaMelo, the best backcourt
[3:21] Speaker 2: in the league, heading into next season. Jalen Brown clapped
[3:25] Speaker 2: back at the analytics crowd for questioning his worth. Will
[3:28] Speaker 2: the former finals MVP be packing his bags and playing
[3:31] Speaker 2: in a different city next season? And Draymond Green opting
[3:35] Speaker 2: out of the final year of his deal to reportedly
[3:37] Speaker 2: give Golden State financial flexibility to go after LeBron and AD.
[3:42] Speaker 2: Would the Warriors' unction be a legit contender in the West?
[3:45] Speaker 2: Before we get into all that, as always, this show
[3:47] Speaker 2: is brought to you by Underdog. Underdog's available in most states,

[4:15] Speaker 2: $ 25 million giveaway if the USA wins it all. And
[4:21] Speaker 2: if you can't watch the show live with us on YouTube,
[4:23] Speaker 2: we've got audio versions available on Apple, Spotify, wherever you
[4:26] Speaker 2: get your podcasts. So, we've got a lot to discuss.
[4:29] Speaker 2: Let's get into it. The official start of free agency,
[4:31] Speaker 2: only a day away, but things are already moving and
[4:33] Speaker 2: shaking around the association. We're going to start the show
[4:36] Speaker 2: with some breaking news coming out of Golden State where
[4:38] Speaker 2: Draymond Green... declining his $ 27. 7 million player option with the
[4:43] Speaker 2: Warriors for next season to become a free agent.
[4:45] Speaker 1: So according to reports, the move is.
[4:47] Speaker 2: Being made to give Golden State some financial flexibility to
[4:50] Speaker 2: pursue LeBron in free agency and Anthony Davis via a
[4:54] Speaker 2: trade with the Wizards to form an old head Big
[4:56] Speaker 2: Four in the Bay. So after factoring in Al Horford's
[4:59] Speaker 2: new two-year $ 14 million deal and Yaxel Lindenberg's rookie contract,
[5:04] Speaker 2: Warriors are expected to be around $ 44 million under the
[5:07] Speaker 2: luxury tax deadline nearly $ 52 million under the first apron,
[5:11] Speaker 2: which will open up the $ 15 million non-taxpayer mid-level exception
[5:15] Speaker 2: and create flexibility to take on salary and trades. Any
[5:18] Speaker 2: trade with Anthony Davis will likely have to include Jimmy Butler,
[5:22] Speaker 2: still recovered from the torn ACL he suffered in January. Also,
[5:25] Speaker 2: according to reports, Lakers have expressed interest in trying to
[5:27] Speaker 2: bring LeBron back, but LeBron has been unable to meet
[5:30] Speaker 2: with the Purple and Gold thus far, with a conversation
[5:33] Speaker 2: expected to happen soon.
[5:34] Speaker 1: But Swaggy, we'll start with.
[5:35] Speaker 2: You, your old team, the team that made you a champion.
[5:38] Speaker 2: Your old teammate, what are your thoughts on Draymond Green
[5:41] Speaker 2: declining his player option to help the Warriors land LeBron
[5:44] Speaker 2: and Anthony Davis?
[5:45] Speaker 1: I think it's big.
[5:46] Speaker 3: You know, Draymond, him and LeBron got like, I feel
[5:50] Speaker 3: like they talked about it, but Draymond does, he really
[5:53] Speaker 3: does everything to win for the Warriors. He must know
[5:56] Speaker 3: they're going to sign him back. You know, I thought
[5:59] Speaker 3: of that type of money to let you know something's
[6:02] Speaker 3: going to happen. And I believe that they expressed that
[6:05] Speaker 3: to him. And Lennon LeBron would be big in See
[6:09] Speaker 3: the Lakers? They done showed they wanted who they wanted.
[6:13] Speaker 3: They have showed.
[6:14] Speaker 1: 185.
[6:15] Speaker 3: Yeah, 185. And if I'm LeBron, I want to stay
[6:22] Speaker 3: in L.A. somewhere. It's only a 45, 50-minute flight. You know,
[6:28] Speaker 3: you got the private planes. You got the helicopters. You
[6:31] Speaker 3: can always come back. Steve Kerr gives them a lot
[6:34] Speaker 3: of free time. So let's go ahead and go to
[6:37] Speaker 3: the Bay.
[6:38] Speaker 2: You also have Southwest out of Burbank with numerous flights.
[6:42] Speaker 2: Numerous flights throughout the day. Don't let anybody else know
[6:45] Speaker 2: about it. It feels private. It feels like your own airport.
[6:48] Speaker 2: Always empty.
[6:49] Speaker 3: It's empty. And you guys, you know, JetSuite. A little
[6:55] Speaker 3: bit more pricey. I'm a frugal.
[6:57] Speaker 2: Individual, but they do have JetSuite right down the way.
[6:59] Speaker 2: But let's shift over to you, Mr. B. Mr. B,
[7:01] Speaker 2: what's your reaction to Draymond Green declining His player option
[7:04] Speaker 2: to help the Warriors land LeBron and Anthony Davis?
[7:09] Speaker 4: Seems like the Warriors are trying to go all in
[7:10] Speaker 4: to win. This right here gives you the opportunity to
[7:15] Speaker 4: send Jimmy Butler to the Wizards for AD, if.
[7:18] Speaker 1: That's what you want to do.
[7:18] Speaker 4: $ 15 million, like you said, mid-level. You can go sign LeBron.
[7:25] Speaker 4: And I know him and LeBron have a good relationship
[7:27] Speaker 4: and things like that. So, you know, can't say Draymond
[7:32] Speaker 4: Green's not trying to win. or anything like that. So,
[7:35] Speaker 4: the decision just helps them. So, you know, they are
[7:40] Speaker 4: getting older. So, this is a situation where you just
[7:43] Speaker 4: got to go all in at this point.
[7:45] Speaker 2: Well, let's shift over to this side of the couch
[7:48] Speaker 2: to the distinguished gentleman, Kenyon Draymond Green, opting out of
[7:52] Speaker 2: the final year of his deal to try to help
[7:54] Speaker 2: the Warriors land LeBron at AD and free agency. According
[7:57] Speaker 2: to the report, they would be a package deal. So,
[7:59] Speaker 2: if the Warriors are unable to get AD, LeBron likely
[8:01] Speaker 2: would not come. What do you think about Draymond? making
[8:04] Speaker 2: that move to try to help the squad.
[8:06] Speaker 1: Yeah, no, this is a, you've been one franchise for
[8:11] Speaker 1: your entire career. You've made a lot of money with
[8:14] Speaker 1: this one franchise. You won with this franchise. Um, and
[8:18] Speaker 1: I think it's, if you want to continue to stay
[8:20] Speaker 1: with this franchise, I think this was a mutual decision
[8:24] Speaker 1: for them in order to keep him and do something else.
[8:29] Speaker 1: So I think this was good for the team. Um, Yeah,
[8:34] Speaker 1: and I'm pretty sure he wants to remain a Golden
[8:36] Speaker 1: State Warrior. He wants to finish everything there. So I
[8:39] Speaker 1: think this allows him to do that, get multiple years,
[8:41] Speaker 1: get another maybe three years, and walk off to the
[8:47] Speaker 1: sunset as a Golden State Warrior. And if this move
[8:50] Speaker 1: does allow them to get Anthony Davis, LeBron James, whoever
[8:54] Speaker 1: else it is, it should be about winning. It should
[8:57] Speaker 1: be about helping Steph. and not have to carry the
[9:01] Speaker 1: load like he has have to as of late. But, yeah,
[9:07] Speaker 1: so I think without Jimmy Butler being there, being down, yeah,
[9:15] Speaker 1: they need help to start the year. So if a
[9:17] Speaker 1: team is willing to trade for Jimmy, then you definitely
[9:22] Speaker 1: do it. If you can get an Anthony Davis, he's
[9:25] Speaker 1: a proven winner with better people around him. I think
[9:28] Speaker 1: he'll be motivated to go out and play. but we
[9:32] Speaker 1: all know it's a big if. It will be an
[9:34] Speaker 1: older roster with Al Horford. Need some younger guys as
[9:39] Speaker 1: well because, you know, we all know father time is undefeated,
[9:44] Speaker 1: but it's a good thing for the Warriors. It's a
[9:46] Speaker 1: good thing for Draymond to be able to finish his
[9:49] Speaker 1: career in Golden State. So, I think this is what
[9:52] Speaker 1: this was about.
[9:54] Speaker 2: Dray and Steph, I think the longest tenure players in
[9:57] Speaker 2: the league to stay with the same team. Giannis was
[9:59] Speaker 2: in that mix obviously, before going to Miami. But let's
[10:02] Speaker 2: shift over to you, Shot. What do you think about
[10:04] Speaker 2: Draymond opting out the final year of his deal to
[10:07] Speaker 2: allegedly help the Warriors try to get LeBron and AD
[10:10] Speaker 2: to the back?
[10:13] Speaker 5: I remember saying something last week about LeBron going to
[10:15] Speaker 5: the Warriors. We was talking about that. I was saying
[10:20] Speaker 5: something about him going to the Spurs and talking about Cleveland.
[10:25] Speaker 5: And I was really adamant about this storyline. I think
[10:28] Speaker 5: you agreed a little bit about the storyline, too. So
[10:33] Speaker 5: I think Rich Paul, it's just hard for him to
[10:34] Speaker 5: try to outsmart the smartest guy in the world.
[10:37] Speaker 1: Like, this is too easy. I mean, who's Draymond's agent?
[10:41] Speaker 1: Rich Paul. Who's LeBron's agent? Rich Paul. Who's AD's agent?
[10:45] Speaker 1: Rich Paul. Also, Bronny's agent as well.
[10:48] Speaker 5: This makes too much sense, right? for it just to
[10:50] Speaker 5: be the play to make.
[10:51] Speaker 1: Also, Miss Johnson's agent and De'Aaron Fox's agent. Yes, it is. Very,
[10:55] Speaker 1: very powerful. That's why we didn't fucking win, you know.
[10:59] Speaker 5: And seeing Persingas and Jimmy Butler being traded for AD
[11:03] Speaker 5: to go to Washington, maybe, per se, to make it
[11:07] Speaker 5: an old, let's create the last dance for real. Okay, Mike,
[11:13] Speaker 5: you tried. Mike, it was good. The Bulls were nice,
[11:16] Speaker 5: but this seems like a better story. Me, Steph, Draymond,
[11:20] Speaker 5: and AD, let's kick it. You know, we won one.
[11:23] Speaker 5: Me and AD won one together. Steph and Dray, they
[11:26] Speaker 5: won four. So why not? Let's just bring this band
[11:29] Speaker 5: together and try to make something happen. So this is
[11:32] Speaker 5: not out of the norm. I see this as something
[11:34] Speaker 5: of a nostalgia play. So it all makes sense. But
[11:38] Speaker 5: it's all just not going to go the way they
[11:40] Speaker 5: planned it.
[11:42] Speaker 1: It's not in the books. It is not currently in
[11:45] Speaker 1: the books. It's not in the automatic. It's just not there.
[11:48] Speaker 6: So you say it won't happen?
[11:50] Speaker 1: Oh, it's going to happen. They just won't win it.
[11:52] Speaker 6: Oh, won't win it.
[11:53] Speaker 1: Yeah, they won't win it.
[11:54] Speaker 6: But you do think LeBron is bound for gold instead?
[11:57] Speaker 1: Oh, for sure.
[11:58] Speaker 5: I mean, all the chatter is centered around this now.
[12:02] Speaker 5: I mean, there's a little bit of chatter around Miami
[12:04] Speaker 5: because of the Giannis thing, but that just didn't make
[12:07] Speaker 5: sense either. To go back and try to bring them
[12:10] Speaker 5: cookies back just don't work.
[12:11] Speaker 1: He'd have his chocolate chip cookies taken off the plane.
[12:14] Speaker 1: This is a fresh start.
[12:15] Speaker 5: And like Swaggy said, 40 minutes up the street. Keep
[12:19] Speaker 5: my kids and my family here. Still play golf. I
[12:22] Speaker 5: could play golf with Steph. Steph also an avid golfer.
[12:26] Speaker 5: That's all makes sense.
[12:28] Speaker 2: Skip, let's shift over to you. What do you think
[12:29] Speaker 2: about this news of Draymond Green declining the final year
[12:32] Speaker 2: of his deal to set the stage for LeBron and
[12:34] Speaker 2: AD to come to the Bay?
[12:37] Speaker 6: So, Josiah, you opened this up by saying breaking news
[12:40] Speaker 6: out of Golden State. And to me, to Rashad's points,
[12:46] Speaker 6: it's really breaking news out of Rich Paul. He started this,
[12:49] Speaker 6: and he is orchestrating this. He is masterminding this because
[12:54] Speaker 6: he controls all the chess pieces involved in this. And
[12:59] Speaker 6: I am intrigued by One Last Hurrah, and I would
[13:03] Speaker 6: watch every dribble of every game every night if this
[13:07] Speaker 6: so happened. But I still believe that Rich Paul is
[13:13] Speaker 6: trying to protect his number one by far client, who
[13:17] Speaker 6: is incognito at the moment, not returning phone calls or so,
[13:21] Speaker 6: Brian Windhorst says. But this is all about LeBron's bargaining
[13:26] Speaker 6: power with the L.A. Lakers, of which he has very
[13:31] Speaker 6: little at this moment. And Rich is trying to play
[13:35] Speaker 6: the chess pieces to maximize LeBron's leverage with the Lakers,
[13:42] Speaker 6: who obviously have committed what is it, next year, $ 50
[13:45] Speaker 6: million to Luka and now $ 41 to Austin Reeves. And theoretically,
[13:53] Speaker 6: the Lakers could pay LeBron James $ 58 million. That's what
[13:57] Speaker 6: they are allowed to, if they so chose, they could
[14:00] Speaker 6: pay him $ 58 million, which I'm sure he would love
[14:03] Speaker 6: to have. It feels like he would richly deserve every
[14:07] Speaker 6: penny of the $ 58 as still the face of this
[14:10] Speaker 6: franchise and still, to me, the face of the league.
[14:13] Speaker 6: But They ain't going to do it. And I think
[14:17] Speaker 6: they're going to laugh at this ploy by Rich Paul
[14:19] Speaker 6: and say, have fun in Golden State. And maybe it'll
[14:23] Speaker 6: force LeBron's hand because the max he could make in
[14:26] Speaker 6: Golden State is $ 15 million.
[14:28] Speaker 2: Yeah, that non-tax payer MLE for two years. So two
[14:31] Speaker 2: for 30 potentially.
[14:32] Speaker 6: And I'm pretty sure LeBron would look, what did he
[14:35] Speaker 6: make last year, 53? I'm sure he would look at
[14:37] Speaker 6: that as a real come down, a real slap in
[14:41] Speaker 6: the face. Like, I got to play for $ 15 million?
[14:44] Speaker 6: But at least you'd be playing with Steph and Draymond.
[14:47] Speaker 6: And theoretically, Anthony Davis, though, help me out. I don't
[14:52] Speaker 6: understand why the Wizards would trade Anthony Davis, even though
[14:55] Speaker 6: I think you said the other day they should just
[14:57] Speaker 6: go ahead and move him again. And he just keeps
[15:00] Speaker 6: moving and moving and not playing and not playing and
[15:03] Speaker 6: not playing. But the Wizards are trying to sell to
[15:08] Speaker 6: their fans that, We got AD, and we signed Trey,
[15:13] Speaker 6: and we drafted AJ, and here we go. And we're
[15:16] Speaker 6: a viable playoff team, at least edge of the playoffs
[15:21] Speaker 6: kind of a team, with AD, who they just sort
[15:24] Speaker 6: of mothballed the rest of the year last year after
[15:29] Speaker 6: they got him at the trade deadline. But I don't
[15:31] Speaker 6: know why they would move him again for Jimmy Butler,
[15:33] Speaker 6: who's going to be 37 on September 14th coming off ACL.
[15:39] Speaker 6: Not available until I don't know when. I mean, Kyrie
[15:42] Speaker 6: missed a whole year.
[15:43] Speaker 1: I don't know.
[15:44] Speaker 6: Would he be available by January or February? So the
[15:48] Speaker 6: Wizards are back to square one, right? Aren't they starting
[15:51] Speaker 6: over again? You could get drafts. I'm sure Golden State,
[15:56] Speaker 6: if I know Lakob and I do, I think he
[15:59] Speaker 6: would trade all their future drafts, whatever they had to trade,
[16:02] Speaker 6: plus Jimmy Butler to get Anthony Davis for this because...
[16:07] Speaker 6: This would be something to behold. And the problem is
[16:13] Speaker 6: they would be the olden state warriors, right? The golden oldies,
[16:16] Speaker 6: because next year you'd have LeBron at 42. You'd have
[16:19] Speaker 6: Steph at 39 mid-year.
[16:20] Speaker 1: He turned 39.
[16:21] Speaker 6: You'd have Draymond at 37.
[16:31] Speaker 1: Well, she might as well go get Klay then.
[16:33] Speaker 6: Okay, you might as well go get Klay. And AD
[16:36] Speaker 6: would play at 34, and he's like 54, right? It's
[16:41] Speaker 6: like he– because he's always shelved for some reason. And
[16:47] Speaker 6: I don't– you know, that Linda Borg they drafted is
[16:50] Speaker 6: a good player, and he would fit right into this.
[16:53] Speaker 6: At least you'd have a little youthful energy. He's like 24.
[16:57] Speaker 6: He's like an old college player, but still– It'd just
[17:01] Speaker 6: be fun to watch. And Joe Lacob, the owner, would
[17:04] Speaker 6: love to be able to sell this because it would be.
[17:07] Speaker 1: Box office.
[17:10] Speaker 6: Oh, man. Appointment TV every night to watch this group.
[17:14] Speaker 6: And Steve would have to juggle in minutes and try to...
[17:18] Speaker 6: If you could get it to the playoffs healthy, I'm
[17:21] Speaker 6: not even sure it could make the playoffs. Like, you'd
[17:24] Speaker 6: have to be able to play these guys enough to
[17:26] Speaker 6: get to the playoffs in the West.
[17:29] Speaker 1: But....
[17:31] Speaker 6: I still think LeBron, in his heart of hearts, he
[17:34] Speaker 6: wants to play for your Lakers. That's what I think,
[17:38] Speaker 6: and I just don't know how much they want to,
[17:42] Speaker 6: how high they want to go on the money, but
[17:46] Speaker 6: this would be a nice plan B, and I do think,
[17:51] Speaker 6: they say he's been playing golf every day, and I,
[17:53] Speaker 6: you know golf, and I know golf, and it's addicting
[17:56] Speaker 6: and obsessive, and And Steph plays as much as he
[18:00] Speaker 6: can so they could play together. So that would be
[18:02] Speaker 6: a great second option for LeBron, right?
[18:06] Speaker 1: Good business. Good business. It'd be a lot of good business. Oh, man.
[18:10] Speaker 1: It is good. On and off the court. Yeah.
[18:12] Speaker 2: So, Skip, you touched on it a little bit, but
[18:14] Speaker 2: this is my question for the couch. Is the worst
[18:16] Speaker 2: potential big four of LeBron, Steph, AD, and Draymond a
[18:20] Speaker 2: legit contender in the West?
[18:21] Speaker 1: Or, like you mentioned, are they the old and stay warrior?
[18:24] Speaker 1: And are they cooked? Contenders. You can't substitute experience.
[18:33] Speaker 5: Experience is everything. All of them don't even have to
[18:35] Speaker 5: be healthy. You can play with three of them. You
[18:38] Speaker 5: can play with two of them. It's just depending on
[18:41] Speaker 5: the morale of the team and who they build around,
[18:43] Speaker 5: who they put the little role players. If they go
[18:45] Speaker 5: get Klay, they go get a couple little dogs that
[18:48] Speaker 5: can really play some defense.
[18:51] Speaker 1: They got some guys.
[18:52] Speaker 5: It's just like having– like LeBron did it by himself
[18:55] Speaker 5: with Luka and him by himself, like being the only
[18:58] Speaker 5: seasoned player by himself, coming in, losing AR and Luka,
[19:03] Speaker 5: being able to take them past Houston.
[19:05] Speaker 1: Can you imagine if you had Steph with him? Imagine
[19:08] Speaker 1: him and Steph or just him and Draymond.
[19:10] Speaker 5: Draymond knowing what to do, knowing how to give them
[19:12] Speaker 5: the ball. Like these are guys who just know how
[19:14] Speaker 5: to play the game and– If you're a hooper, you
[19:18] Speaker 5: want to play with guys who know how to play.
[19:20] Speaker 5: It makes your life that much easier. And I think
[19:23] Speaker 5: with a guy like Draymond that can facilitate, Steve, relax.
[19:28] Speaker 5: We got this. We're going to run this. We're going
[19:30] Speaker 5: to get this. We know what's going on. We got
[19:32] Speaker 5: the feel of the game going. LeBron being able to
[19:34] Speaker 5: do that while Draymond's on the bench. And then Steph
[19:37] Speaker 5: being able to benefit that. But then let's not forget AD.
[19:42] Speaker 5: I believe AD needs to be motivated to play.
[19:44] Speaker 1: I agree.
[19:45] Speaker 5: I believe that the knick-knack injuries come from frustration about
[19:48] Speaker 5: whether he's playing well or the team's playing well he's
[19:51] Speaker 5: one of those guys if he feels like we got
[19:53] Speaker 5: a chance he'll play fucking 60 games I feel like
[19:57] Speaker 5: that like I feel like he's just one of those
[19:59] Speaker 5: guys like he'll pack he'll pack it in yeah I'm cool.
[20:02] Speaker 1: He ain't got a chance yeah I'm.
[20:03] Speaker 5: Cool I'll just I'll just barely show up that type
[20:06] Speaker 5: of shit but I feel like if this was him
[20:08] Speaker 5: in this situation I He would show up to be
[20:11] Speaker 5: championship caliber A.D.
[20:13] Speaker 1: Obviously, A.D.
[20:13] Speaker 2: Developed a bad reputation in recent years. The street clothes
[20:17] Speaker 2: moniker does play a lot of games, though not obviously
[20:19] Speaker 2: as of late, but compared to other guys like Kawhi
[20:22] Speaker 2: and other people.
[20:24] Speaker 1: What's his average, like 50? 54? 52?
[20:26] Speaker 5: Don't count last year, though.
[20:29] Speaker 3: He's got to.
[20:32] Speaker 1: Be around there. So... 51 to 24, 25. Probably played
[20:39] Speaker 1: just 20 games last season. Before that, played 76 in
[20:41] Speaker 1: his final full season with the Lakers. The 76 was
[20:43] Speaker 1: the year he got the extension? That was 23, 24.
[20:46] Speaker 1: The 200? Let me check for you. I think it
[20:47] Speaker 1: might have been the year before. Yeah, before that.
[20:49] Speaker 5: 22, 23.
[20:49] Speaker 2: 23, 24.
[20:50] Speaker 1: That kicked in, but Nonetheless, do you think this is
[21:10] Speaker 1: a legit contender in the West or is this some
[21:13] Speaker 1: fool's gold in Golden State? If it was, hypothetically, we
[21:18] Speaker 1: are typing hypothetically because it definitely hasn't happened yet. On paper,
[21:25] Speaker 1: it would look good. But we all know youth is
[21:33] Speaker 1: a factor within this league now that you have to
[21:37] Speaker 1: take into account We're talking about the competition side of it.
[21:42] Speaker 1: Being available, injuries, all those things we have to be
[21:45] Speaker 1: mindful of. Everyone on a healthy playing field, I give
[21:53] Speaker 1: them a chance. The experience of it, right? They have that, right?
[22:00] Speaker 1: They have what it takes mentally, the mental fortitude to
[22:05] Speaker 1: wield themselves in games and in series. If it was
[22:11] Speaker 1: to happen, on paper, they have what it takes because
[22:15] Speaker 1: of that experience, but you need some youth in there
[22:19] Speaker 1: as well. Getting a 24-year-old guy that's ready to play
[22:25] Speaker 1: right now is helpful. Get a few more guys around
[22:30] Speaker 1: that's been there. You need some shooters and different things
[22:33] Speaker 1: like that, but Like I said, it's all hypothetical. But
[22:37] Speaker 1: on paper, it would be a good team. But like
[22:42] Speaker 1: I said, it's wishful thinking at this point. But we
[22:46] Speaker 1: shall see in the near future what happens. So Shot,
[22:50] Speaker 1: he signed that extension the summer of 2023 and then
[22:53] Speaker 1: the 2024 season when he played. So after he did that,
[22:57] Speaker 1: he played 76. He played the 76 games. But he
[23:00] Speaker 1: already had the bread coming.
[23:01] Speaker 5: He already had the bread coming. But that was one
[23:03] Speaker 5: of the years where they had it. They were looking up.
[23:06] Speaker 5: It was like, we can get this done. But they
[23:08] Speaker 5: fell short. Was that the Western Conference Finals year?
[23:12] Speaker 1: I believe so, sir. I think so. Yeah. I think so.
[23:15] Speaker 5: So that energy around that year, it felt good. You know,
[23:18] Speaker 5: just A.D. I think they might have lost. 23-24, they
[23:21] Speaker 5: lost in the first round tonight. I believe 20... How.
[23:24] Speaker 1: Many games was that? That's when... A near sweep, Ken.
[23:29] Speaker 1: A gentleman's sweep. A polite.
[23:30] Speaker 5: That was a gentleman's sweep.
[23:33] Speaker 1: And then 2023. So, 2023, they made the Western Conference
[23:35] Speaker 1: finals with Darvin Hamm. And then they got rid of him.
[23:37] Speaker 5: He signed a contract that summer. Got rid of Darvin. So,
[23:40] Speaker 5: that year you're talking about was with JJ?
[23:44] Speaker 1: The first year. The Denver, the first round exit. That
[23:47] Speaker 1: was JJ, right? Yeah. No, it was Darvin Hamm, too.
[23:50] Speaker 1: It was Darvin. Oh, Darvin again. And they got rid
[23:52] Speaker 1: of him after that. They got rid of him after
[23:54] Speaker 1: that brought in. Mm-hmm.
[23:57] Speaker 5: Okay, so the energy from the year before, AD's coming
[24:00] Speaker 5: back with that energy, got paid.
[24:03] Speaker 3: And the Hill State draft pick, didn't they just draft
[24:05] Speaker 3: the four men? From Michigan?
[24:08] Speaker 1: I'm thinking they're going to push him to Washington. I
[24:11] Speaker 1: don't think they're a contender. I just think it's good business, though.
[24:14] Speaker 1: It's going to be fun to watch. It's going to
[24:16] Speaker 1: be fun to watch.
[24:17] Speaker 4: Amazing, wild, but I don't think they're not better than
[24:20] Speaker 4: OKC or the Spurs.
[24:21] Speaker 1: They're better than the Wolves. They would be better than
[24:23] Speaker 1: the Lakers. They're better than the Wolves. And they're better
[24:25] Speaker 1: than Denver. Better than Denver, the Lakers. I don't know
[24:30] Speaker 1: about the Wolves. I don't know about the Wolves. The
[24:32] Speaker 1: Wolves just got rid of their two big guys. Yeah, okay, yeah.
[24:35] Speaker 1: They just got that basketball right now. Hmm? We didn't
[24:39] Speaker 1: talk about that.
[24:39] Speaker 2: We're going to talk about the Wolves. I just want
[24:41] Speaker 2: to make sure I heard you correctly. Better get into that. So,
[24:44] Speaker 2: last question for you guys. We talk about legacy all
[24:46] Speaker 2: the time. Obviously, a lot of people are more interested
[24:49] Speaker 2: in that than others. But how would a move to
[24:51] Speaker 2: the Warriors to join forces with Steph and Draymond affect
[24:54] Speaker 2: LeBron's legacy in the twilight of his career?
[24:57] Speaker 1: Oh, it won't. It would add to it. If he wins?
[24:59] Speaker 6: Hmm.
[25:00] Speaker 1: It doesn't affect nothing.
[25:01] Speaker 4: It's just, I mean, it just adds to it.
[25:05] Speaker 1: It just adds to it. I mean, he's 42 years old.
[25:07] Speaker 4: So name me a 42-year-old that played in the league
[25:09] Speaker 4: that's had these numbers or done any of this.
[25:11] Speaker 5: So all it does is just add to his legacy.
[25:13] Speaker 5: It doesn't hurt or anything. That's so interesting. We can add,
[25:16] Speaker 5: but we can't subtract.
[25:18] Speaker 1: What are you subtracting?
[25:19] Speaker 6: Right.
[25:20] Speaker 1: If you don't win, what are we doing it for
[25:25] Speaker 1: if we're not going to win? Like I said before,
[25:28] Speaker 1: the people that love him are going to love him.
[25:30] Speaker 1: The people that don't, they're not. They're going to just
[25:32] Speaker 1: add one more thing they have to say because you
[25:35] Speaker 1: don't like him already. That's it. There's no subtractions at
[25:38] Speaker 1: this point. So you're moving to another team. Tom Brady
[25:43] Speaker 1: moved on to the Bucs at 45 and went and
[25:45] Speaker 1: won the fucking Super Bowl. So everybody told him they're
[25:47] Speaker 1: going to hang it up. He changed teams.
[25:50] Speaker 5: That wasn't a subtraction for Tom Brady.
[25:53] Speaker 1: That was an addition because he won. He had to win, too.
[25:58] Speaker 5: So if you go down there and you lose, it's like, Tom,
[26:00] Speaker 5: you can't win without Bill Belichick.
[26:04] Speaker 1: But you're not subtracting anything off of their legacy. There's
[26:07] Speaker 1: no subtractions. There are chinks in the armor. People just
[26:11] Speaker 1: don't like it. Yeah, there's chinks in the armor. Yeah,
[26:13] Speaker 1: because y'all shooting bullets at him.
[26:15] Speaker 5: He's shooting bullets at himself. He's shooting himself. He's Plexico
[26:18] Speaker 5: Burris in himself.
[26:19] Speaker 1: No, y'all shooting bullets at him.
[26:22] Speaker 5: No other player has had to do all of these
[26:24] Speaker 5: things to add to a legacy.
[26:26] Speaker 1: They don't have to do anything. Nobody else has had
[26:28] Speaker 1: to do that. People that don't like him just going
[26:31] Speaker 1: to add one more thing negative to say about him. See,
[26:34] Speaker 1: he can stop right here, right now. And the people
[26:36] Speaker 1: that love him are going to go out and buy
[26:37] Speaker 1: the Warriors jersey if it happens. That's just what it is, man. So,
[26:40] Speaker 1: it's just, if you don't like him, you don't like
[26:43] Speaker 1: the guy. But it definitely doesn't subtract, though. He can
[26:45] Speaker 1: do nothing right in their eyes. So, it's just what
[26:48] Speaker 1: it is, bro. He can win. Winning is right.
[26:51] Speaker 5: But then you're going to win. If he wins, if
[26:54] Speaker 5: he wins, if he do win.
[26:56] Speaker 1: No, you won't.
[26:57] Speaker 5: If he do win, you're just going to be like, oh, here,
[26:59] Speaker 5: go team up and stay up in.
[27:01] Speaker 1: AD and go get players. It don't matter. It do matter.
[27:04] Speaker 1: There will be no win. There will be no wins here.
[27:07] Speaker 1: It do matter. It do. It do matter. So when
[27:09] Speaker 1: KD left, when KD left, when KD left, right? We're
[27:12] Speaker 1: talking about LeBron James. KD left, right? And he won.
[27:16] Speaker 5: It wasn't no chink in his armor. We're talking about
[27:18] Speaker 5: LeBron James. Okay, so when LeBron left Cleveland and he
[27:26] Speaker 5: went to Miami, was that a chink in his armor?
[27:29] Speaker 1: That move was hated by a lot. A lot, right?
[27:31] Speaker 1: A lot of people said yes. Chink in two rings.
[27:33] Speaker 1: And why, though?
[27:35] Speaker 5: Because you went to the finals how many straight times?
[27:37] Speaker 1: What are we expecting, a 42-year-old? Four straight times. Four
[27:39] Speaker 1: straight times, and then you went and joined another team.
[27:41] Speaker 1: If he wins, does he go in front of Michael Jordan?
[27:46] Speaker 6: All right.
[27:47] Speaker 1: Okay. So do you stay at nine?
[27:49] Speaker 7: What was Michael Jordan?
[27:53] Speaker 1: If he goes and just this hypothetical thing that we're
[27:56] Speaker 1: speaking of now, if they, he goes to golden state
[28:00] Speaker 1: and they do exactly what we're high as gold, go
[28:03] Speaker 1: at ad staff. They Draymond. They, and they win it,
[28:08] Speaker 1: does he move out of nine on your list? Yeah.
[28:11] Speaker 6: If they win and he has a role in it,
[28:14] Speaker 6: like he plays a big role, sure. I would elevate
[28:18] Speaker 6: him off that.
[28:19] Speaker 1: To what number?
[28:19] Speaker 6: Nine?
[28:20] Speaker 1: No. To what number? You got him at nine?
[28:22] Speaker 6: The guy at the top is in another gallon.
[28:25] Speaker 1: What number? He does. Well, I don't know.
[28:27] Speaker 6: I have to see it.
[28:27] Speaker 1: No, you have to know.
[28:28] Speaker 6: I have to see how it happens.
[28:29] Speaker 1: You have to know already.
[28:30] Speaker 6: You have to tell me how much part he plays.
[28:33] Speaker 1: A big part. He's LeBron James. It just happened. How
[28:35] Speaker 1: could he supposed to know right now? With the numbers
[28:38] Speaker 1: that he averaged this past season. With those numbers that
[28:42] Speaker 1: he just averaged this past season. Yeah. With that change.
[28:45] Speaker 6: Well, you hate Bill Russell, so I should put him.
[28:47] Speaker 1: No, I don't hate Bill Russell.
[28:48] Speaker 6: You told me you don't respect him.
[28:50] Speaker 1: No, no, I never said that. I just don't. He's
[28:53] Speaker 1: not above certain people on my list. All right. OK.
[28:55] Speaker 1: That's all. All right.
[28:56] Speaker 6: So let's let's go back.
[28:58] Speaker 1: Seven.
[28:58] Speaker 6: Let's go back just a second to Tom Brady.
[29:01] Speaker 1: OK.
[29:01] Speaker 6: Remember, Tom Brady went. to Tampa Bay because Bill Belichick
[29:07] Speaker 6: and Robert Kraft said goodbye Tom we're done with you
[29:10] Speaker 6: because you're finished they pushed him right out the back
[29:14] Speaker 6: door in New England and he became a unrestricted free
[29:18] Speaker 6: agent you know he hit the market and I'm pushing
[29:21] Speaker 6: Jerry Jones like go get him Tom Brady's available nah
[29:25] Speaker 6: we don't need him he's done he's washed up and
[29:28] Speaker 6: you know what happened in the very next year in
[29:31] Speaker 6: a pandemic year you know what he did in Tampa Okay,
[29:34] Speaker 6: so with LeBron, I don't hate LeBron. I don't love
[29:38] Speaker 6: his legacy, and it ain't George.
[29:40] Speaker 1: Legacy.
[29:40] Speaker 6: And we'll never be close to Jordan's legacy.
[29:43] Speaker 1: Not even close to him? Not the same neighborhood? Not
[29:44] Speaker 1: even close. Right down the street?
[29:46] Speaker 6: 6-0 with six MVPs? My God. How can we... That
[29:50] Speaker 6: guy's in another stratosphere from LeBron.
[29:52] Speaker 1: That's just... Same blood. Okay.
[29:54] Speaker 6: But the point is.
[29:56] Speaker 6: That when he chose to leave Cleveland and join forces
[30:00] Speaker 6: with Dwayne and Bosch and Pat Riley and Spoh, I
[30:04] Speaker 6: applauded it because I thought he needed a big brother.
[30:06] Speaker 6: He needed somebody to teach him how to win. And
[30:09] Speaker 6: so I had no issue with that at all. In
[30:11] Speaker 6: this case, what's about to happen, if in fact the
[30:13] Speaker 6: hypothetical becomes true that we're discussing... It would be because
[30:17] Speaker 6: the Lakers are just done with LeBron, and they're just,
[30:20] Speaker 6: we committed to Luka and AR. We are going forward
[30:23] Speaker 6: with them. We don't need you. You're in the way
[30:26] Speaker 6: here because your aura is so big that Luka doesn't
[30:31] Speaker 6: like your aura. Luka is not comfortable having to share
[30:34] Speaker 6: some of the stage with LeBron James. So I think
[30:37] Speaker 6: we're heading toward the Lakers finally just saying, Just go
[30:40] Speaker 6: to Golden State where he'll have no choice. Well, I
[30:43] Speaker 6: can't condemn that. I can't criticize that because it would
[30:47] Speaker 6: make sense.
[30:48] Speaker 1: Do it. Do that.
[30:50] Speaker 6: I like it. I like one last hurrah, and it's
[30:53] Speaker 6: still amazing to me. I keep saying he is the
[30:56] Speaker 6: longevity king. He has proven beyond shadow of doubt that
[31:02] Speaker 6: he is playing at a higher level than any human
[31:05] Speaker 6: has ever thought about playing at age, we're almost to 42.
[31:10] Speaker 6: in year 24. Like, it's never, no one's even come
[31:13] Speaker 6: close to that in any sport, to me, at that level.
[31:16] Speaker 6: I know Tom Brady was 45, but it's, this is
[31:20] Speaker 6: the National Basketball Association, and the game is so much
[31:23] Speaker 6: harder than to play quarterback in the NFL where he's
[31:25] Speaker 6: getting rid of it in 1.8 seconds every time. But
[31:29] Speaker 6: my point is, I would have no, I like this
[31:32] Speaker 6: scenario for him. I like it, but, you know, if
[31:35] Speaker 6: you win, okay, I'll, does that make him, I got
[31:39] Speaker 6: Larry Bird at eight, and Kobe at seven. Does that
[31:42] Speaker 6: make him better than Bird and Kobe? Again, I need
[31:45] Speaker 6: to see it.
[31:46] Speaker 1: So he stays at nine.
[31:48] Speaker 6: Okay, well, if you want to convince me that he
[31:51] Speaker 6: belongs above Bill Russell, it's hard to compare eras because
[31:55] Speaker 6: Bill Russell's playing against a lot of old, slow white guys.
[31:59] Speaker 6: There are too many of them at that point. I
[32:01] Speaker 6: give you that.
[32:02] Speaker 1: I don't dislike Bill Russell, but the fact that you
[32:04] Speaker 1: said he's playing against old white and he shot 42%
[32:07] Speaker 1: from the field is impressive. Okay. In itself.
[32:12] Speaker 6: Okay, but he won 11 times and two as a
[32:15] Speaker 6: player coach. Team sport. And from what, he's even before
[32:19] Speaker 6: my time. And so I don't know, in my mind's eye,
[32:21] Speaker 6: I can't see it as well as I should.
[32:24] Speaker 1: What, him shooting 42%?
[32:25] Speaker 6: No, defensively, he just completely controlled the game. And in
[32:29] Speaker 6: playoff series against Wilt Chamberlain, and.
[32:31] Speaker 1: You know his stats. Mm-hmm.
[32:33] Speaker 6: Bill Russell was 7-1 against Wilt Chamberlain in the playoff series.
[32:36] Speaker 6: It's just ridiculously great. He owned Wilt Chamberlain, who was
[32:40] Speaker 6: about five inches tall.
[32:42] Speaker 1: Not the matchup, though. Huh? Not the matchup, though. The team.
[32:45] Speaker 1: The team, yes. Hey, the team, I give you that.
[32:50] Speaker 1: The two-team, the matchup, yes. Yeah. The Boston Celtics team
[32:54] Speaker 1: was better than the teams that Wilt played on. Absolutely. Absolutely.
[32:57] Speaker 1: But that individual matchup, that matchup, go look at them numbers.
[33:02] Speaker 1: It ain't close. Okay. Trust me. The field goal, I
[33:06] Speaker 1: looked it up. It ain't even close. He averaged 50
[33:08] Speaker 1: against that man. Listen, it ain't close. And 25 rebounds,
[33:13] Speaker 1: 30 rebounds. Listen, and yeah, and Bill, you're averaging 16
[33:17] Speaker 1: and 24. Like, cool, you have the rebounds and the
[33:20] Speaker 1: blocks was there, but you're averaging 16 points. This man
[33:25] Speaker 1: is tripling your output on the other end. Okay. So
[33:29] Speaker 1: on him, we're not going to go that far. The team, yes.
[33:33] Speaker 1: Jerry West killed them too. Like the team? Boston. No, they. 7-1.
[33:39] Speaker 1: I know. Jerry West was MVP even though they lost.
[33:43] Speaker 6: They lost.
[33:44] Speaker 1: Yeah, they lost. They lost. You had to be killing. Yeah.
[33:47] Speaker 6: But, I don't know, he had Don Nelson as a
[33:49] Speaker 6: teammate and Havlicek was pretty good. I don't know. I'm
[33:52] Speaker 6: not sure that they're teams.
[33:54] Speaker 1: I'm going to have more than Bill because he shot 42%. Yeah,
[33:58] Speaker 1: I got it.
[33:58] Speaker 5: So, are we talking team or individual? I'm choking you
[34:01] Speaker 5: about the conversation.
[34:02] Speaker 1: Individual. Well, this was individual because he said he owned him.
[34:06] Speaker 1: I'll just address that. The numbers don't. Right, it don't say.
[34:11] Speaker 1: I looked it up. The numbers ain't even close. 94
[34:14] Speaker 1: had to have meetings. Will Chamberlain averaged 38 points. or
[34:17] Speaker 1: 30 points and 28 rebounds. Bill Russell averaged 14 and
[34:20] Speaker 1: 23 rebounds.
[34:21] Speaker 6: Okay, but 23 rebounds.
[34:22] Speaker 1: He averaged the same amount of rebounds as you and
[34:24] Speaker 1: tripled your points. No, Will averaged 30 points, 28 rebounds. Oh,
[34:28] Speaker 1: 30 and 28. And Bill Russell averaged 14 and 23.
[34:31] Speaker 1: So he averaged more rebounds than points against you.
[34:34] Speaker 6: Okay, but Bill Russell was a jump out at 6'9.
[34:39] Speaker 6: They say he's the greatest shot blocker ever, and again,
[34:42] Speaker 6: that's what I always hear.
[34:43] Speaker 1: I'm with him. I'm going to take the net off
[34:45] Speaker 1: his plate. I'm giving him all credit for what he
[34:47] Speaker 1: does do.
[34:48] Speaker 6: He was a bad man.
[34:50] Speaker 1: He was. He was. And he affected winning, right? Yes,
[34:54] Speaker 1: he did.
[34:54] Speaker 5: He affected winning. Absolutely. So in order to be a
[34:58] Speaker 5: great individual player, you affecting 11 championships.
[35:02] Speaker 1: Yes, he did. It doesn't matter to your resume. It does.
[35:05] Speaker 1: It does. I'm just listening. I'm just trying to analyze.
[35:07] Speaker 1: It does. But we're talking about. What are we saying?
[35:10] Speaker 1: We're talking about five men playing a five man and
[35:13] Speaker 1: they numbers when they played one another. That's what I'm
[35:16] Speaker 1: talking about. To win it. Yes. But you don't got
[35:18] Speaker 1: him nowhere up there. It's like the same. Who don't
[35:21] Speaker 1: got no one? Who?
[35:22] Speaker 2: Me?
[35:22] Speaker 1: Yeah, y'all don't respect Draymond game. Who don't? This from
[35:28] Speaker 1: the past. What are you talking about? I'm just saying.
[35:30] Speaker 1: Draymond is a bonafide winner. I thought we was talking
[35:33] Speaker 1: about LeBron. I thought we was talking about LeBron. That's
[35:36] Speaker 1: what I thought we was talking about. It doesn't subtract.
[35:41] Speaker 2: From takes nothing away from like no no obviously Lakers
[35:43] Speaker 2: fans in their feeling right now But I think the
[35:45] Speaker 2: right is on the wall obviously real blue boys you
[35:48] Speaker 2: read up with Austin Reeves Neither one.
[35:50] Speaker 1: Of the dude he got to do man.
[35:51] Speaker 4: Neither one is available in the post It's amazing to
[35:53] Speaker 4: see someone at 42 years old still playing at a high.
[35:55] Speaker 1: To skips point right if they moved on like that
[35:59] Speaker 1: New England moved on from Tom Brady, if the Lakers
[36:01] Speaker 1: then are moving on from LeBron, then this is not
[36:03] Speaker 1: on him. If he still wants to play basketball, he
[36:08] Speaker 1: has to go find a home. That's what it is.
[36:10] Speaker 1: If he goes there, then so be it. If it's
[36:15] Speaker 1: him and Steph, the Lakers made that decision, so Lakers fans,
[36:18] Speaker 1: y'all can't be in your feelings if that is a
[36:21] Speaker 1: decision that's going to be made.
[36:22] Speaker 6: If the Lakers badly wanted LeBron and were doing everything
[36:25] Speaker 6: in their power and offered him $ 58 million to stay,
[36:29] Speaker 6: and he said, no, I'm joining forces with Steph, then.
[36:31] Speaker 1: You'd have an argument. Or if he was under contract
[36:35] Speaker 1: and forced to trade or something of that nature, then yeah,
[36:37] Speaker 1: that's one thing.
[36:38] Speaker 6: But I think he's about to get pushed out the
[36:40] Speaker 6: back door like Brady. That's how it feels to me.
[36:43] Speaker 1: That's what the feeling is. I'm just being honest. Like,
[36:46] Speaker 1: for sure. They made sure to take care of Luka
[36:48] Speaker 1: and Austin Reeves. So he can go get this 58.
[36:50] Speaker 1: And I was hearing the playoff, beating a near-coach. But
[36:52] Speaker 1: it's not smart. It's not smart for the team to
[36:55] Speaker 1: do it, though. They wouldn't. They're not going to do it.
[36:56] Speaker 2: So it's not smart for them to give him that.
[36:58] Speaker 2: They still got Rui Hachimura out. They still got Marcus
[37:00] Speaker 2: Marder just opted out now. Of course, he's going to
[37:02] Speaker 2: go to the Rockets. They're looking at other parts of
[37:04] Speaker 2: the roster. They want to surround Luka with the roster
[37:06] Speaker 2: that he feels like he needs to be successful.
[37:09] Speaker 1: Give him 30 of it. Take a picture. You can
[37:13] Speaker 1: give him 30 of it. If it's 58 on the table,
[37:16] Speaker 1: give him 30 of it. You could. Give him the
[37:18] Speaker 1: bulk of it.
[37:18] Speaker 5: LeBron goes to the Warriors. They do not win. We
[37:22] Speaker 5: don't get to criticize.
[37:23] Speaker 1: You're going to criticize him either way it goes. I
[37:28] Speaker 1: answered it. You're going to criticize him no matter what. Yes,
[37:30] Speaker 1: you can. No matter what. Win or lose, you're going
[37:32] Speaker 1: to have something to say. It's like everybody else who
[37:34] Speaker 1: criticized LeBron. Go ahead. That's just what it is. Yes. Yes.
[37:38] Speaker 1: Criticize away. I'm going to give you a moment. Go ahead. Yeah,
[37:40] Speaker 1: criticize away because you're going to do it either way
[37:43] Speaker 1: it goes. Well, he's going to get praised anyway. So,
[37:45] Speaker 1: 42 years old.
[37:46] Speaker 5: So, if you're going to get praised, at what point
[37:49] Speaker 5: do we start separating like you only get praised?
[37:53] Speaker 1: What is he getting praised on? When you fall short
[37:55] Speaker 1: of the ultimate goal. But what is he getting praised on?
[37:59] Speaker 1: What are you comparing him to then? He's getting praised
[38:02] Speaker 1: for winning. Okay. And accumulating stats and breaking records. Okay.
[38:08] Speaker 1: That's praise, right? Okay.
[38:09] Speaker 5: So if you fall short from the ultimate goal of
[38:11] Speaker 5: winning the championship for reasons to go over here.
[38:13] Speaker 1: To Warriors, it's all on him. Okay, so if he
[38:16] Speaker 1: goes to the Warriors, which is in his team, and
[38:18] Speaker 1: they don't win it, that's on him? It's all on him.
[38:20] Speaker 1: It's on the whole team, bro. Okay, so the team is.
[38:23] Speaker 1: So are you going to criticize the Golden State Warriors
[38:25] Speaker 1: or are you going to criticize everybody on the roster? Okay, okay.
[38:29] Speaker 1: And the owner and everybody. That's fine then, yeah. But
[38:32] Speaker 1: it's going to start with him. Just as long as
[38:34] Speaker 1: that loudness is just as loud for everybody. It has
[38:36] Speaker 1: to be. It won't be. It has to be. It
[38:37] Speaker 1: won't be. Okay. We know that. Because Steve Kerr didn't
[38:40] Speaker 1: get it. Everybody. We know that. It won't be. Joe Laker, Dunlap.
[38:44] Speaker 1: Have the Warriors been criticized the last four years? It
[38:47] Speaker 1: won't be. Not as much as they should. The last
[38:51] Speaker 1: four and a half years. Not as much as they should.
[38:52] Speaker 1: I mean, for the Warriors. No. Before Jimmy Fallon got hurt,
[38:55] Speaker 1: they was on a 50 game. They've been criticized. They
[38:58] Speaker 1: ain't been close.
[38:59] Speaker 6: Aren't they just coasting off their four rings?
[39:03] Speaker 1: That could be a criticism, too.
[39:05] Speaker 5: The fact that you guys just won those rings and
[39:08] Speaker 5: you're just rolling off the nostalgia of KD coming there.
[39:11] Speaker 5: The criticism of Jordan Poole and all of these different things.
[39:15] Speaker 5: I believe the criticism is only justified when you fall short.
[39:22] Speaker 1: Jimmy Butler did get hurt. So, did you criticize the
[39:24] Speaker 1: other 29 teams?
[39:25] Speaker 4: Wait, Jimmy Butler did get hurt and they was going
[39:27] Speaker 4: to win like 50-something games before he got hurt.
[39:29] Speaker 1: When? We can't. Every year. Like, Jimmy did get hurt.
[39:33] Speaker 1: I mean, Anthony Davis got hurt the year of the
[39:35] Speaker 1: Lakers won the chip. You know how it's going, Mr. B.
[39:37] Speaker 3: And you gave Wimby an A for not winning. And
[39:43] Speaker 3: you gave Wimby a C.
[39:44] Speaker 1: All right, well, there you have it. Let's keep this
[39:49] Speaker 1: thing moving. Right?
[39:52] Speaker 3: No, but where did LeBron go? He got the second round?
[39:56] Speaker 3: But you said it don't matter. Your thing was if
[39:58] Speaker 3: you didn't win, you was getting very right.
[40:00] Speaker 1: He said it wasn't impressive to see a 41-year-old. The
[40:03] Speaker 1: second round, he got a near full-strength rocket squad. Second
[40:06] Speaker 1: round finals. 13th to number two in the West. MVP candidate.
[40:15] Speaker 1: Defensive player of the year. All of these things. I
[40:18] Speaker 1: just want to know, what was your favorite player?
[40:20] Speaker 4: What was the number one player that y'all got on
[40:22] Speaker 4: y'all list doing at the age of 41 and 42?
[40:23] Speaker 1: And they all lost. Smoking Sherm. But let's keep this
[40:28] Speaker 1: thing moving.
[40:30] Speaker 2: The Wolves have been on the prowl this offseason with
[40:32] Speaker 2: some major moves to overhaul their roster heading into next season.
[40:36] Speaker 2: So last Monday, Minnesota offloaded three-time All-Star Julius Randle. to
[40:39] Speaker 2: the Nets in a three-team trade, which also included the Bulls.
[40:42] Speaker 2: That move freed up some bread for the Wolves to
[40:44] Speaker 2: sign trade deadline acquisition Ayo DeSumo to a five-year $ 112
[40:48] Speaker 2: million contract, which includes a player option in the fifth year.
[40:52] Speaker 2: And this past Thursday... The league saw the second blockbuster
[40:55] Speaker 2: trade of this offseason. Let's take a look at the
[40:58] Speaker 2: details as the Hornets dealt their franchise cornerstone lamello ball
[41:02] Speaker 2: to the Wolves. So M-Grads already told us the deal
[41:05] Speaker 2: was going down a day earlier, but Shams confirmed it
[41:08] Speaker 2: with the full trade details. Ball, a one-time All-Star and
[41:10] Speaker 2: former Rookie of the Year, along with Josh Green, were
[41:13] Speaker 2: shipped to Minnesota for Nas Reed, a 2033 unprotected first-round pick.
[41:18] Speaker 2: Three first-round pick swaps and three second-round picks. LaMelo averaged
[41:22] Speaker 2: 20.7 assists and five rebounds while appearing in 72 regular
[41:25] Speaker 2: season games, which is the most he's played since the
[41:28] Speaker 2: 2021-22 season. After appearing in just 105 games the previous
[41:32] Speaker 2: three seasons combined, shot 37% from distance, was second in
[41:36] Speaker 2: the league in threes made behind only his rookie teammate,
[41:39] Speaker 2: Con Canipple. So LeVar's baby boy has three years left
[41:42] Speaker 2: on his Hornets franchise record five-year, $ 204 million designated rookie contract,
[41:46] Speaker 2: eligible to sign a two-year, $ 119 million extension on July 6th.
[41:51] Speaker 2: The move pairs Ant-Man and the Mellow together, the first
[41:54] Speaker 2: and third picks in the 2020 NBA draft. As the
[41:58] Speaker 2: Timberwolves now become the YN-berwolves, as it stands, here is
[42:02] Speaker 2: a look at a potential starting five for Minnesota next season.
[42:06] Speaker 2: Like I said, this is just potential. So both and LaMelo,
[42:08] Speaker 2: 24 years old. Jaden McDaniels, only 25. Free agency kicking
[42:12] Speaker 2: off soon. Odds are the Wolves still ain't done tweaking
[42:14] Speaker 2: their roster. We'll probably try to address the need. No,
[42:17] Speaker 2: we're not done.
[42:18] Speaker 1: They're not done. So we're not done. So Swaggy, we'll
[42:21] Speaker 1: start with you.
[42:21] Speaker 2: What's your reaction to the Wolves trading for LaMelo Ball
[42:25] Speaker 2: to pair with Anthony Edwards?
[42:28] Speaker 1: Best team in basketball right now. The best team in
[42:32] Speaker 1: the National Basketball Association.
[42:33] Speaker 3: The snow-time Wolves, baby. you know, we got must see TV.
[42:39] Speaker 3: I feel like it's going to free up a lot.
[42:41] Speaker 3: It may go free up a lot of shots for mellow.
[42:46] Speaker 3: It's going to be a good time. It could either
[42:48] Speaker 3: go two ways. Like I said, it could go good
[42:50] Speaker 3: or it could be a highlight reel. So you're talking
[42:53] Speaker 3: about the warriors and LeBron. I think this is must
[43:00] Speaker 3: see TV right here. Um, I think you need to
[43:02] Speaker 3: add a power forward. We're missing that. Um, But everything else,
[43:07] Speaker 3: this is what I've been asking for, point guard. I
[43:10] Speaker 3: think the Charlotte Hornets made this move because I forgot
[43:14] Speaker 3: the kid from Chicago been coming into his own. I
[43:17] Speaker 3: think they're going to probably start him at PG. They
[43:19] Speaker 3: had some decisions to make. He played well. You see
[43:25] Speaker 3: it was a little shaky with Melo, but he coming
[43:27] Speaker 3: into an organization where it's about winning, I think, in structure,
[43:31] Speaker 3: I think that's what you need for sure.
[43:35] Speaker 2: Mr. B, what do you think about Wolves making that
[43:37] Speaker 2: move for LaMelo Ball to pair with Anthony Edwards?
[43:40] Speaker 4: A little confused a little bit. Just because the West
[43:45] Speaker 4: is so front court heavy. Right now, as you see
[43:50] Speaker 4: with the OKC, the moves they made, go and get
[43:52] Speaker 4: a 75 guy. Spurs also. And then, you know, you
[43:57] Speaker 4: lose your front court, but you do get a point guard.
[43:59] Speaker 4: You do get a point guard. That is an all-star.
[44:02] Speaker 4: That's a 20 points score at night, can pass, can
[44:06] Speaker 4: take pressure off Anthony Edwards. The only thing is that
[44:10] Speaker 4: he's only, it's only the second season that he's played
[44:13] Speaker 4: over 50-something games.
[44:14] Speaker 1: So he's not really available like that.
[44:17] Speaker 4: And the way that where the Minnesota Timberwolves were going,
[44:21] Speaker 4: Western Conference Finals and things like that, you know, we're
[44:25] Speaker 4: going to need to see if he's going.
[44:26] Speaker 1: To be available.
[44:28] Speaker 4: And, you know, he's been playing over there with Charlotte.
[44:32] Speaker 4: I'll call it like immature basketball.
[44:34] Speaker 1: A little bit.
[44:35] Speaker 4: So now that he has to come over here, it's
[44:37] Speaker 4: a big test to see if he's going to be
[44:38] Speaker 4: able to mature. And he's going to be playing in
[44:40] Speaker 4: big games with Anthony Edwards. And, you know, it's a
[44:43] Speaker 4: whole different system over there. So it's going to be
[44:47] Speaker 4: a lot of pressure. But they did get the point
[44:50] Speaker 4: guard that they have that they didn't need. But I
[44:54] Speaker 4: don't know, man. It's a big question mark. All right, Skip,
[44:58] Speaker 4: let's shift over to you.
[44:58] Speaker 1: You said that.
[44:59] Speaker 2: Wolves make this blockbuster move, get rid of Julius Randle,
[45:02] Speaker 2: send him to the Nets in a salary dump so
[45:04] Speaker 2: they can extend the I.O., trade Nas Reed, former sixth
[45:09] Speaker 2: man of the year, to the Hornets to get LaMelo.
[45:13] Speaker 1: Do you like the trade?
[45:16] Speaker 6: I don't get it. In fact, I think it's insane
[45:21] Speaker 6: on the part of the Charlotte Hornets to blow up
[45:26] Speaker 6: what took off right under their nose. They just went
[45:31] Speaker 6: from 19 wins to 44 wins. They were on January
[45:37] Speaker 6: the 2nd, 11-23, and they took off the way very
[45:42] Speaker 6: few NBA teams have ever taken off, coming from nowhere.
[45:47] Speaker 6: And they went 32-13 down the stretch. And over those
[45:48] Speaker 6: games from January 1st on, They rank number one in
[45:55] Speaker 6: the NBA in offense and number five in the NBA
[45:59] Speaker 6: in defense. And I'm a big fan of LaMelo's. I
[46:07] Speaker 6: know LaVar, and LaVar was telling me as early as 2017,
[46:11] Speaker 6: my youngest one's going to be by far the best one.
[46:14] Speaker 6: And he was correct once again about that. And I
[46:19] Speaker 6: know LaMelo, and he's zany and wacky and all those
[46:22] Speaker 6: things that you guys talked about He has a history
[46:27] Speaker 6: of reckless driving off the court and he has a
[46:29] Speaker 6: history of reckless driving on the court and crazy shot
[46:34] Speaker 6: taking and making. And yet he's just a talent that
[46:39] Speaker 6: you can't replace. So this thing came together around Miles
[46:44] Speaker 6: Bridges to me. He was the leader of it. He
[46:47] Speaker 6: was the veteran. He was the calming force and in
[46:51] Speaker 6: some ways the driving force because he set the physical
[46:54] Speaker 6: tone for that team He's not a great player. And
[46:58] Speaker 6: I'm not saying he's going to change life in Phoenix
[46:59] Speaker 6: because he won't. But he fit what they were doing
[47:03] Speaker 6: in Charlotte as a guy who made key plays in
[47:07] Speaker 6: big games for them. And you just blew that up.
[47:13] Speaker 6: I don't... Because you don't trust... either lamello or miles
[47:18] Speaker 6: going forward you don't have to pay him or count
[47:20] Speaker 6: on them or depend on them going forward and it's
[47:23] Speaker 6: just wrong because you had it right in your lap
[47:28] Speaker 6: and it needed another year to just grow and mature
[47:32] Speaker 6: and in lamello showed me a lot last year because
[47:35] Speaker 6: he they cut his minutes back so he could stay
[47:37] Speaker 6: healthy and he did play 72 games and And he
[47:41] Speaker 6: took a lot fewer threes and shots. He cut a
[47:45] Speaker 6: shot taking way down. He showed me some things. And
[47:49] Speaker 6: I know he had the tripping incident with Bam in
[47:52] Speaker 6: the playing game. But then they go get a guy
[47:55] Speaker 6: who's got a long history of tripping people in Grayson Allen. So, oh,
[47:59] Speaker 6: so you got rid of him. Oh, but you added him.
[48:01] Speaker 6: I just don't get it.
[48:05] Speaker 1: You know, I.
[48:07] Speaker 6: I feel sorry for Charlotte fans because I think they
[48:09] Speaker 6: really had something to look forward to and root for,
[48:12] Speaker 6: and now they don't. They just took a big, giant
[48:16] Speaker 6: step backward to me. That's what just happened. And again,
[48:21] Speaker 6: I know we're going to talk about dynamic duo, but man,
[48:24] Speaker 6: you pair him with Ant, you got, I'm watching, man.
[48:28] Speaker 6: I'm watching every night because it's going to be fun
[48:30] Speaker 6: to watch, and they're going to lead in viral highlights
[48:33] Speaker 6: every night. Because they're talented. They can do things very
[48:38] Speaker 6: few other players can do. And now, I won't watch Charlotte.
[48:44] Speaker 6: You know, I'm done.
[48:45] Speaker 2: Skip, you're not going to watch? Kobe White, Brandon Miller,
[48:48] Speaker 2: can they put on doing anything for us?
[48:49] Speaker 1: I like Kobe White. I think they won. I think
[48:52] Speaker 1: they won. No. I think Charlotte won. They got 11, 13. Yeah.
[48:55] Speaker 1: I mean, 11. I do not agree with that. We
[48:58] Speaker 1: got Brandon Miller.
[48:59] Speaker 6: Now we can see if Colton.
[49:05] Speaker 1: And I think they got tired of that. It's weakness
[49:07] Speaker 1: leaving the body.
[49:08] Speaker 6: I know all this stuff.
[49:10] Speaker 2: What do you think about the LaMelo trade and obviously
[49:12] Speaker 2: the implications for both the Wolves and the Hornets?
[49:16] Speaker 1: Yeah, to your point, you were nice. with, you said
[49:22] Speaker 1: you think he plays immature basketball sometimes. No, immature basketball
[49:25] Speaker 1: over there. I'm saying you were nice in that a
[49:29] Speaker 1: lot of times. To your point, the reason they traded
[49:36] Speaker 1: LaMelo is because Kobe White is who he is, right?
[49:40] Speaker 1: More solid. Had a conversation with Charles Lee recently. I
[49:44] Speaker 1: think he seemed like more of a no-nonsense kind of
[49:48] Speaker 1: a coach, right? LaMelo is a hell of a talent.
[49:52] Speaker 1: He is. Hell of a talent, yes. But I think
[49:58] Speaker 1: Charles Lee preaches defense first, and I don't think that's
[50:02] Speaker 1: LaMelo's strong suit. Kobe White, hard-nosed kind of a player,
[50:07] Speaker 1: has a chip on his shoulder, something to prove. I
[50:09] Speaker 1: think is an extension of him, of Charles Lee. I
[50:13] Speaker 1: think that's what made LaMelo tradable. You get a guy
[50:17] Speaker 1: like Nas Reed, who you know was going to bring
[50:19] Speaker 1: to the table. Sixth man of the year. Now he'll
[50:24] Speaker 1: be a starting four in his league, which I think
[50:27] Speaker 1: was important to him. But yeah, I just think it
[50:33] Speaker 1: was a time to move on kind of a situation.
[50:38] Speaker 1: I think this has run its course with him and
[50:41] Speaker 1: with LaMelo and Miles Bridges. Two great talents in this league,
[50:46] Speaker 1: but I don't think they saw themselves winning or moving
[50:50] Speaker 1: forward with those guys, so it was time to move on.
[50:55] Speaker 1: For Minnesota, getting the ball out of Ant's hand, I
[51:01] Speaker 1: understand that. LaMelo is a pass-first guy. He is capable
[51:07] Speaker 1: and can get high assists with players around him. So
[51:13] Speaker 1: I understand that move for them. We all said that
[51:18] Speaker 1: Ant needed a point guard in here. We all thought that.
[51:20] Speaker 1: We thought Mike Conley was that when he was starting.
[51:22] Speaker 1: But the more Ant matured, the more Ant came into
[51:25] Speaker 1: his own, we felt that him being off the ball
[51:29] Speaker 1: and being a real two-guard in his league, coming off
[51:31] Speaker 1: down screens and catching shoot situations is more fitting for him.
[51:35] Speaker 1: And having LaMelo be the facilitator, I think, takes that
[51:39] Speaker 1: responsibility away from Ant, which I think will make the
[51:42] Speaker 1: team a better team moving forward. Got Ayo coming into
[51:47] Speaker 1: his own. We know where Jaden McDaniels is. His growth
[51:50] Speaker 1: and development, still young, fierce young guy. Got defense on
[51:54] Speaker 1: the back end now with Rudy. So, yeah, I understand
[51:57] Speaker 1: it with that regard. Want to get the ball out
[52:01] Speaker 1: of LaMelo's hand and have Ant be that real two-guard
[52:04] Speaker 1: where he doesn't have to worry about getting other people
[52:06] Speaker 1: involved in the game plan, just going out and being him.
[52:09] Speaker 1: So I get both sides of it. Took some time
[52:13] Speaker 1: to digest it, but I understand both sides of it.
[52:17] Speaker 2: So Shiloh, shift over to you. Wolves making this move
[52:20] Speaker 2: for LaMelo. Getting rid of Julius Randle. It's going to
[52:23] Speaker 2: be a new look squad. Had went to two straight
[52:26] Speaker 2: Western Conference finals before this season. Obviously got smacked by
[52:29] Speaker 2: the Spurs, but What's your reaction to that trade? And
[52:32] Speaker 2: what do you think about that LaMelo and Ant-Man backcourt?
[52:34] Speaker 5: Desperation move for Charlotte and for the Wolves. I think
[52:40] Speaker 5: the league is starting to reshape. A lot of teams
[52:44] Speaker 5: are making moves just wanting to get off assets. You
[52:48] Speaker 5: don't just give up LaMelo Ball for Nas Reed. Just
[52:52] Speaker 5: don't do that. And you don't give up Miles Bridges
[52:56] Speaker 5: for Grayson Allen.
[52:58] Speaker 1: Just don't do that. You don't give up Julius Randle
[53:01] Speaker 1: for a 33rd pick. You just don't do that. So
[53:06] Speaker 1: for the Wolves to get off two of their.
[53:07] Speaker 5: Assets to help them make it to the Western Conference Finals,
[53:10] Speaker 5: it's kind of weird to me. For what LaMelo Ball
[53:14] Speaker 5: did for the Charlotte Hornets, this particular year, he did
[53:21] Speaker 5: not pack it in. He could have easily packed it
[53:23] Speaker 5: in after the coach was messing with his minutes, put
[53:25] Speaker 5: him on the bench, saying he was this type of player,
[53:28] Speaker 5: but he didn't.
[53:29] Speaker 1: He became resilient. He showed some type of leadership.
[53:32] Speaker 5: And even though he can be immature at times, that
[53:35] Speaker 5: team rallied behind him. And they took it to the
[53:38] Speaker 5: next level. Kobe White is a good player. Brandon Miller
[53:42] Speaker 5: is a good player. Conker Nipple is a good player.
[53:44] Speaker 5: Nas Reed is a good player. But now they're a
[53:47] Speaker 5: starless Charlotte Hornets that now have to go into a
[53:51] Speaker 5: whole new game plan of style of play. that's going
[53:55] Speaker 5: to have to resemble like an Indiana Pacers. They have
[53:58] Speaker 5: to go out there, play hard, play smart, play together,
[54:01] Speaker 5: and depend on their cohesiveness to help them thrive.
[54:05] Speaker 1: For the Wolves, it just doesn't make sense to me.
[54:09] Speaker 5: Mike Conley was a solid point guard for the Wolves,
[54:12] Speaker 5: and he was always ready to set the table for
[54:14] Speaker 5: all those other egos out there. For LaMelo Ball to
[54:18] Speaker 5: have an ego and have to set the table at
[54:21] Speaker 5: the same time, for a guy who we all know
[54:23] Speaker 5: is the man of the team. The things that helped
[54:27] Speaker 5: Ant-Man beat Ant-Man was being able to have a floor
[54:31] Speaker 5: spacer in Nas Reed, a guy who can get his
[54:34] Speaker 5: own 15 to 20 points in Julius Randle, having an
[54:38] Speaker 5: anomaly in Jaden McDaniels. And then you got DiVincenzo and
[54:43] Speaker 5: DeSumo being able to hit shots on the outside.
[54:45] Speaker 1: It was a.
[54:45] Speaker 5: Collective totality of abilities out there. But now I feel
[54:51] Speaker 5: like they've shrunk that window. Even though Osumu's still there,
[54:56] Speaker 5: even Chinzo's coming back from an injury, Jaden Daniels' workload
[55:00] Speaker 5: is going to have to get a lot more. Like
[55:02] Speaker 5: he's playing the four. So what is it that LaMelo
[55:08] Speaker 5: Ball is going to bring to this table to take
[55:10] Speaker 5: them back to where they just left? I don't see,
[55:13] Speaker 5: especially if they're saying that defense was one of his
[55:16] Speaker 5: problems in Charlotte. So if defense was one of his
[55:18] Speaker 5: problems in Charlotte and this is a defensive team, what
[55:21] Speaker 5: the fuck do you think that we're going to be
[55:22] Speaker 5: complaining about now?
[55:24] Speaker 1: Three turnovers a game, seven assists.
[55:28] Speaker 5: Melo has been an immature player, but I always say
[55:31] Speaker 5: it's the right team that makes you the right player.
[55:34] Speaker 5: And if he wasn't on the right team with Charlotte,
[55:37] Speaker 5: this cannot be the right team for him because they've
[55:40] Speaker 5: already had a formula for winning and he's going to
[55:42] Speaker 5: have to reel back his game. Even though it could
[55:45] Speaker 5: be highlights. The highlights galore because they're both dynamic players.
[55:49] Speaker 5: But when you're talking about winning basketball?
[55:52] Speaker 1: Yeah. Winning basketball?
[55:54] Speaker 3: 27, he averaged 27 and 5.
[55:56] Speaker 1: Who? Melo.
[55:57] Speaker 2: So you're talking about winning basketball, Skip. Like you pointed out,
[56:00] Speaker 2: Hornets 19 wins a year before. Obviously, Melo injured the
[56:03] Speaker 2: previous season. 72 games this season. They're a win away
[56:06] Speaker 2: from the play-in.
[56:07] Speaker 1: 44 wins, 25 win increase. And can you, like you
[56:11] Speaker 1: pointed out, Tim Connolly? Yeah, the guy in the front office,
[56:14] Speaker 1: Tim Connolly, put together a championship team in Denver. So
[56:17] Speaker 1: I'm going to trust Tim to know what he's doing
[56:20] Speaker 1: for the most part. He's been in that position, been
[56:22] Speaker 1: in that office, and tweaking with that roster.
[56:25] Speaker 6: Well, he put together a pretty good team in Minnesota.
[56:27] Speaker 1: Yeah, that's what I'm saying. Two straight Western Conference Finals.
[56:30] Speaker 1: They felt they needed something different, right? They felt they needed,
[56:34] Speaker 1: and that's what I, so... I'm going to trust him
[56:36] Speaker 1: in this regard, that he knows what he's doing. He
[56:39] Speaker 1: knows what he's been looking at for the last three
[56:41] Speaker 1: or four years. And it was time to tweak the roster.
[56:44] Speaker 1: And this was the tweak that they felt was needed. Yeah,
[56:49] Speaker 1: I don't think it was panic. We've been to two
[56:52] Speaker 1: straight Western Conference Finals, didn't get bounced this year. We
[56:57] Speaker 1: haven't got it done with this roster, right? So what
[57:00] Speaker 1: can we do to help? Ant-Man injured. Yeah, but dealing
[57:05] Speaker 1: with dealing with the runners.
[57:06] Speaker 2: I'm just saying I think ball matures this year.
[57:13] Speaker 1: I think ball mature. I mean, yes, this is a test.
[57:15] Speaker 4: I mean, I mean, listen, if you don't listen, you're
[57:17] Speaker 4: going into a situation where, like you said, they've been winning.
[57:20] Speaker 4: So this is the opportunity for him to show what
[57:22] Speaker 4: he can really do on a team when it really matters.
[57:24] Speaker 1: He's playing. He's playing in games in Charlotte. They don't.
[57:28] Speaker 1: That hadn't mattered until this past year. Yeah, that hadn't
[57:30] Speaker 1: mattered until that. And he grew up a lot in
[57:32] Speaker 1: the play-in games, right? So he grew up a lot
[57:35] Speaker 1: this season. He got dropped off.
[57:38] Speaker 5: This wasn't a preferable trade for the Minnesota Timberwolves. This was,
[57:42] Speaker 5: we got a chance to get LaMelo. Why not take
[57:45] Speaker 5: the chance? This was, we don't want him. Who wants him? Remember,
[57:51] Speaker 5: they got rid of Julius Randle first. Julius was the
[57:55] Speaker 5: one they were like, yo, somebody take him. All right,
[57:58] Speaker 5: who's next? All right, if you go back to the
[58:01] Speaker 5: press conference, Nas Reed's press conference at the end of
[58:03] Speaker 5: the year, it didn't feel like they had a tight-knit
[58:08] Speaker 5: chemistry in that locker room.
[58:10] Speaker 1: Somebody was doing something.
[58:12] Speaker 5: We don't know the names, but we know something was
[58:14] Speaker 5: happening in that locker room where they all wasn't together.
[58:17] Speaker 5: So if we now know that these two guys are
[58:20] Speaker 5: gone and we bring in a guy who on the
[58:23] Speaker 5: other side was having coach-player problems... This was a drop-off.
[58:28] Speaker 5: This wasn't a, oh, we want LaMelo Ball. We're going
[58:31] Speaker 5: to make it back to the, no. We got to
[58:33] Speaker 5: make it work now. We got to make it work
[58:36] Speaker 5: now that we got him. We got to figure out
[58:38] Speaker 5: how it's going to work. But this wasn't a, we
[58:40] Speaker 5: want him.
[58:41] Speaker 1: So you don't think they needed a point guard? You
[58:43] Speaker 1: don't think they needed?
[58:44] Speaker 5: They needed a point guard. But the fact that he landed.
[58:48] Speaker 5: in their lap, we'll take them. This is not our
[58:52] Speaker 5: preferred point guard.
[58:53] Speaker 1: So if you look around the league, right? So if
[58:55] Speaker 1: you look around the league of the landscape of that position,
[58:59] Speaker 1: and if this guy's available, he's probably at the top
[59:03] Speaker 1: of that point guard list.
[59:05] Speaker 5: He became available based on us wanting to get rid
[59:08] Speaker 5: of our guy.
[59:10] Speaker 1: Which guy? Nas Reed. We want Nas and Julius. We
[59:15] Speaker 1: need a point guard.
[59:16] Speaker 5: So if we can get rid of Nas to go
[59:18] Speaker 5: get somebody that's available that they don't want, hey, man,
[59:22] Speaker 5: let's feel this. You can't say no to LaMelo Ball
[59:26] Speaker 5: because he has potential.
[59:28] Speaker 1: He has star power. But over time, though, we saw
[59:31] Speaker 1: the way what Nas Reed meant to the Minnesota Timberwolves' success.
[59:35] Speaker 1: We've seen that. Mm-hmm. If he plays well, they play
[59:38] Speaker 1: well as a team, and he has played well. There's
[59:40] Speaker 1: six men a year. He's earned money, their contract, big contracts,
[59:43] Speaker 1: all that, there. So they believed in Nas Reed, but
[59:46] Speaker 1: they had opportunity to go get a point guard, which
[59:48] Speaker 1: is needed. It's the same situation in Washington and Atlanta.
[59:52] Speaker 1: And J. McDaniels is coming to his own, so they...
[59:54] Speaker 1: They got rid of Trae Young because they wanted to
[59:56] Speaker 1: get rid of him. They wanted to get rid of him.
[59:58] Speaker 1: They were moving on from him. They's moving on from LaMelo.
[1:00:01] Speaker 1: Same exact thing. Same thing. This is the same exact thing.
[1:00:04] Speaker 1: This is not a, we need him. We need to
[1:00:07] Speaker 1: get off of him. Washington didn't need Trae Young. Washington
[1:00:10] Speaker 1: needed anything they could get. Yes, but they didn't need
[1:00:13] Speaker 1: a specific play. They definitely needed a point guard for sure.
[1:00:16] Speaker 1: They didn't have one. They needed a lot of things.
[1:00:18] Speaker 1: So they got a point guard. It started with him,
[1:00:20] Speaker 1: but this is a different situation where we have an
[1:00:22] Speaker 1: Anthony Edwards over here. And we don't want the ball
[1:00:26] Speaker 1: in his hand full time. We needed somebody that could facilitate.
[1:00:30] Speaker 3: I've been saying they need a point guard all year. Yeah,
[1:00:32] Speaker 3: that's what I'm saying.
[1:00:33] Speaker 1: And get a point guard. Who, Mike Molley? Yes. All right, okay. Yeah, yeah.
[1:00:39] Speaker 1: Is he not a point guard? Has he not played
[1:00:41] Speaker 1: point guard?
[1:00:42] Speaker 5: Has he not been a high caliber point guard for
[1:00:46] Speaker 5: all the years?
[1:00:51] Speaker 1: No. No. No. No. He's not been a high caliber
[1:00:54] Speaker 1: point guard. No. He's been a solid player. Yes. Not
[1:00:59] Speaker 1: a high caliber. LaMelo is a high caliber player. Yes.
[1:01:03] Speaker 1: Mike Conley has not fit that. No.
[1:01:06] Speaker 2: My colleague, 54 games, obviously was moved at the deadline,
[1:01:08] Speaker 2: ended up coming back to Minnesota.
[1:01:10] Speaker 1: 54 games with the Wolves. Okay.
[1:01:11] Speaker 2: Last season, averaged 18 minutes a game, five points, three.
[1:01:15] Speaker 1: Assists, two rebounds. And the year before that? Let me see.
[1:01:19] Speaker 1: I just want to know if he fit high caliber
[1:01:21] Speaker 1: or not. I can answer that for you, no. Eight points,
[1:01:28] Speaker 1: five assists, three rebounds, and then 24-25 season. And the
[1:01:30] Speaker 1: year before that? I don't know. No, Mike. We ain't
[1:01:36] Speaker 1: got to do that. But it doesn't. Mike Conn is
[1:01:39] Speaker 1: a very good player. 11, 6, and 3. Mike Conn
[1:01:41] Speaker 1: is a very good NBA player. Yes, he is. He's
[1:01:43] Speaker 1: a very solid player. Beyond his prime, yes. Yes. Beyond
[1:01:47] Speaker 1: his prime, yes. If I got a chance to get
[1:01:50] Speaker 1: a LaMelo ball, I'm going to pull that trigger right now.
[1:01:52] Speaker 1: At 24 years old.
[1:01:53] Speaker 6: Rashad, what do you think that GM in Minnesota who
[1:01:56] Speaker 6: also built Denver, what do you think he thought the
[1:02:00] Speaker 6: second he heard LaMelo is available to him? I think
[1:02:03] Speaker 6: he thought, you're kidding. I can get LaMelo Ball. What
[1:02:07] Speaker 6: is he, still 24?
[1:02:08] Speaker 1: 24 years old.
[1:02:09] Speaker 6: He's 24 years old. He's a talent. That guy knows talent.
[1:02:14] Speaker 6: He's just saying, I'll do it. I'll take it.
[1:02:17] Speaker 1: Really? Coach we have, I can get him to buy
[1:02:19] Speaker 1: into what we have. Who's the coach we have? Who's
[1:02:21] Speaker 1: the coach we have? Are you talking about Finch? Finch.
[1:02:22] Speaker 5: All right, so Finch couldn't get Carl Anthony Towns to
[1:02:25] Speaker 5: buy in. He couldn't get Julius Maddow.
[1:02:26] Speaker 1: To buy in. What other people's personalities? Charles Lee couldn't
[1:02:30] Speaker 1: get LaMelo to buy in. I don't know.
[1:02:32] Speaker 6: I thought he bought in last year.
[1:02:34] Speaker 2: I think at a certain point, but LaMelo obviously suspended
[1:02:36] Speaker 2: for a game, I believe, early in the season with
[1:02:38] Speaker 2: the situation.
[1:02:39] Speaker 5: You know when you have to deal with your girlfriend
[1:02:40] Speaker 5: up until the point where you get her a place
[1:02:43] Speaker 5: over here, you let her stay with you, and then
[1:02:44] Speaker 5: you kick her out at a time. You can kick
[1:02:46] Speaker 5: her out. You can be like, yeah, man, we good.
[1:02:49] Speaker 5: It's over now. We over now. It's over now, right?
[1:02:53] Speaker 5: So now that they don't have to deal with him
[1:02:56] Speaker 5: no more, Charles Bleed can say I can go– Back
[1:02:58] Speaker 5: to trying to be a good coach and not look
[1:03:00] Speaker 5: like I'm having a riff.
[1:03:01] Speaker 1: With a star. Because that was the chopping block for
[1:03:05] Speaker 1: Charles Lee. Can you coach?
[1:03:07] Speaker 5: Can you be a good coach and coach a player
[1:03:09] Speaker 5: that you're having a conflict with? That's what makes you
[1:03:11] Speaker 5: a good coach. A good coach can handle a star player.
[1:03:14] Speaker 1: But why would that coach have to put up with
[1:03:16] Speaker 1: him if he don't want to? If I don't have
[1:03:18] Speaker 1: to put up with his bullshit and I can get out,
[1:03:20] Speaker 1: get off of him, why would I put up with him?
[1:03:23] Speaker 1: I got another player over here that I believe in. Wait, wait.
[1:03:25] Speaker 1: So you're putting up with his bullshit? I got a player.
[1:03:27] Speaker 1: Are you putting up with his bullshit? I got a
[1:03:29] Speaker 1: player over here who I believe in and Kobe White.
[1:03:31] Speaker 1: Are you putting up with his bullshit? Right.
[1:03:33] Speaker 5: So you're going to go to Finch and Finch now
[1:03:35] Speaker 5: has to put up with it.
[1:03:37] Speaker 1: Let somebody else deal with him if I'm Charles Lee.
[1:03:39] Speaker 1: His value is so high, they got a living for him.
[1:03:41] Speaker 1: Let somebody else put up with him. $ 41 million trade exception,
[1:03:43] Speaker 1: I believe the largest. Let somebody else deal with him.
[1:03:47] Speaker 1: If that is the case. We're all speculating here. We're
[1:03:51] Speaker 1: all speculating.
[1:03:53] Speaker 5: You don't get off an asset like LaMelo Ball for
[1:03:56] Speaker 5: a Nas Reed.
[1:03:57] Speaker 1: They did.
[1:03:58] Speaker 5: You do something magnificent that matches that.
[1:04:01] Speaker 1: But they did. We got 11 first-round draft picks. We
[1:04:04] Speaker 1: get something back.
[1:04:05] Speaker 4: They got 11 first-round draft picks and 13.
[1:04:09] Speaker 5: Possibilities are endless. But you're happy because why?
[1:04:16] Speaker 1: Why are you happy?
[1:04:18] Speaker 5: Because we got him up out of here.
[1:04:22] Speaker 1: Him and out. But that's what I'm saying.
[1:04:25] Speaker 5: So when you got two guys that's been there and
[1:04:27] Speaker 5: you feel like they've shaped the culture of that franchise
[1:04:30] Speaker 5: and you got them up out of there, you're dumping
[1:04:32] Speaker 5: off assets.
[1:04:34] Speaker 1: Who? Charlotte? Charlotte's trying to win. The Charlotte Hornets are
[1:04:38] Speaker 1: trying to win. So that was a winning move? Yes,
[1:04:40] Speaker 1: to get off Miles Bridges, who you haven't won anything.
[1:04:43] Speaker 1: He's spent his entire career there. He got stains on
[1:04:46] Speaker 1: his record over there.
[1:04:47] Speaker 6: He got one big one.
[1:04:48] Speaker 1: He got stains on his background. Yes, I'm going to
[1:04:52] Speaker 1: try to get it if I got the opportunity to. Yes,
[1:04:54] Speaker 1: we ain't won nothing with him. LaMelo, we ain't won
[1:04:59] Speaker 1: nothing with him.
[1:05:01] Speaker 5: Nas Reed and Julius Randle, we ain't won nothing with them.
[1:05:04] Speaker 5: Why are we getting rid of these guys? We made
[1:05:06] Speaker 5: it to the Western Conference Finals with them.
[1:05:09] Speaker 1: So that's good enough.
[1:05:09] Speaker 5: Then you're getting a guy that you just said hasn't won.
[1:05:12] Speaker 1: That's good enough.
[1:05:14] Speaker 5: So what's the trade-off? To me, it doesn't make sense.
[1:05:17] Speaker 5: The trade-off is we needed a point guard.
[1:05:19] Speaker 1: We needed a point guard the whole time. That wasn't
[1:05:23] Speaker 1: why you lost. That wasn't why you lost. We needed
[1:05:26] Speaker 1: a point guard. We needed somebody to get the ball
[1:05:29] Speaker 1: out of Ant's hands. So if we're trying to address
[1:05:32] Speaker 1: a need... Right. A team need is we need a
[1:05:37] Speaker 1: points guard. We got the opportunity to address that need.
[1:05:44] Speaker 1: We address that need. Now you need a power forward.
[1:05:48] Speaker 1: We have one. Who? McDaniels. If that is going to
[1:05:51] Speaker 1: be the starting lineup. We don't know. That's projected. We
[1:05:55] Speaker 1: don't know what they're going to do. So you have
[1:05:57] Speaker 1: another team need. We don't know. Because he's a small forward.
[1:06:00] Speaker 1: I don't shift to the bench coming off the bench
[1:06:02] Speaker 1: in the road like he has. So we don't know
[1:06:03] Speaker 1: what they're going to do. He can be coming off
[1:06:05] Speaker 1: the bench. We don't know what they're going to do.
[1:06:07] Speaker 1: You answer the team need and you gave up. Okay,
[1:06:09] Speaker 1: we know who's going to be starting. LaMelo's going to start.
[1:06:12] Speaker 1: Anthony Edwards is going to start. Rudy's going to start.
[1:06:15] Speaker 1: Jayden McDaniels is going to start. No doubt. So... Whoever
[1:06:17] Speaker 1: they plug into the other position, they're going to plug.
[1:06:20] Speaker 1: But right now, they addressed a need in point guard. Cool.
[1:06:24] Speaker 1: That's 22, eight and five a ninth. Now they have
[1:06:27] Speaker 1: another need to address.
[1:06:32] Speaker 5: They left two guys, the sixth of the year and
[1:06:35] Speaker 5: a former RWA guy.
[1:06:37] Speaker 1: Two guys. So that don't speak volumes to you?
[1:06:42] Speaker 5: So we got rid of our starter and his backup.
[1:06:46] Speaker 1: At that position. Or a point guard. That don't tell
[1:06:49] Speaker 1: you something? Yeah, it tells you you're not going back
[1:06:52] Speaker 1: to the Western Conference Finals. We don't believe in them guys.
[1:06:54] Speaker 1: You're not going back to the Western Conference Finals, would
[1:06:56] Speaker 1: it tell me? You're not going back to where you
[1:06:58] Speaker 1: just came from. You got rid of the starter and
[1:07:00] Speaker 1: the backup. I don't know. You don't beat Denver Nuggets
[1:07:03] Speaker 1: without them two dudes. I mean, I was a little
[1:07:04] Speaker 1: confused when they gave up their bigs.
[1:07:05] Speaker 5: You don't beat the Denver Nuggets without them two guys.
[1:07:08] Speaker 1: The summer has just started. You're getting rid of the
[1:07:11] Speaker 1: starter and running back and his backup. You're getting rid
[1:07:13] Speaker 1: of the starter and running back and his backup. Don't
[1:07:15] Speaker 1: beat Denver without them two. How you going to run
[1:07:18] Speaker 1: the ball? I don't know. What's your need, though? Your
[1:07:22] Speaker 1: need is Joker. You need to handle Joker.
[1:07:26] Speaker 7: We did handle Joker. Because you had two guys. You
[1:07:29] Speaker 7: just said Rudy was over here burping. With the other
[1:07:32] Speaker 7: two guys helping him. With the other two guys.
[1:07:34] Speaker 1: If he burping, he good. He's a point guard now, right?
[1:07:36] Speaker 1: Did he say he was burping? So we don't need him.
[1:07:43] Speaker 1: What you mean? You don't need who? If 27, 13,
[1:07:46] Speaker 1: and 11 is burping, then he was burping, Brandon. They
[1:07:52] Speaker 1: need a point guard. All I'm saying, Minnesota needs a
[1:07:53] Speaker 1: point guard. Burping then, cool. It is burping when you
[1:07:57] Speaker 1: fucking lose, man. Get your ass on with them horses, man.
[1:08:00] Speaker 1: Burp their goddamn babies. Like I said, if they got
[1:08:03] Speaker 1: rid of their starter and the backup, obviously, it was
[1:08:07] Speaker 1: another need that we need other than powerful. It was
[1:08:10] Speaker 1: the elbow. The power forward position ain't what we've been losing, obviously. Yo,
[1:08:15] Speaker 1: he gonna look hard in there. The free agency just
[1:08:17] Speaker 1: getting started. There's still the potential to make some additions
[1:08:22] Speaker 1: to that roster. I don't think Ted Connolly said, oh,
[1:08:25] Speaker 1: we finished. No, he's not finished. No, it's free agency.
[1:08:29] Speaker 1: Jersey's about to be crazy. We want to come play
[1:08:31] Speaker 1: with the YNs in Minnesota. For you to trade your
[1:08:34] Speaker 1: starter and his backup speaks volumes.
[1:08:39] Speaker 2: Let's shift a little bit more to the Hornets side
[1:08:41] Speaker 2: of it. So just hours after the Lomelo trade was announced,
[1:08:45] Speaker 2: news broke the Hornets were signing trade deadline acquisition Kobe
[1:08:47] Speaker 2: White to a three-year, $ 74 million deal, no player option
[1:08:51] Speaker 2: in that deal. Then, like we talked about, the Hornets
[1:08:54] Speaker 2: made another interesting move Sunday, trading Miles Bridges, a 2029
[1:08:57] Speaker 2: less favorable first-rounder, and a 2029 less favorable first-rounder. second
[1:09:01] Speaker 2: rounder to the Suns for Grayson Allen Royce O'Neal and
[1:09:04] Speaker 2: a 2033 unprotected first round pick so the Suns saved
[1:09:07] Speaker 2: 20 million in luxury tax while opening up a roster
[1:09:09] Speaker 2: spot in your free agency with the Hornets appearing to
[1:09:12] Speaker 2: sell high on both Bridges and LaMelo, moving on from
[1:09:15] Speaker 2: the Hornets' two longest-tenured players to focus building their team
[1:09:19] Speaker 2: around Brandon Miller and rookie-of-the-year runner-up Conn Knipple. This is
[1:09:23] Speaker 2: now the fourth trade between the Suns and Hornets in
[1:09:25] Speaker 2: the last year and a half. So, Skip, when you
[1:09:27] Speaker 2: look at this, you touched on it a little bit.
[1:09:30] Speaker 2: What are your thoughts on the Hornets trading Miles Bridges
[1:09:31] Speaker 2: as well to the Suns, bringing in Grayson Allen, Royce O'Neal?
[1:09:34] Speaker 6: I'm going to say one more thing about LaMelo Ball.
[1:09:40] Speaker 6: If you care about the advanced stats, and a lot
[1:09:42] Speaker 6: of times I laugh at him, but his advanced stats
[1:09:46] Speaker 6: were at the top of the list in the league
[1:09:48] Speaker 6: this past year for how much he did when he
[1:09:51] Speaker 6: was on the floor versus how badly they played with
[1:09:54] Speaker 6: him off the floor. And the advanced stats, just to
[1:09:58] Speaker 6: sum them up, have Lomelo as a top five offensive
[1:10:03] Speaker 6: production player this past season. So if you take him
[1:10:08] Speaker 6: out of the mix... This is the ESPN analysis. I'll
[1:10:11] Speaker 6: just quote it. The Charlotte offense hummed with LaMelo on
[1:10:15] Speaker 6: the floor, cratered without him. Okay, so that's what you're
[1:10:19] Speaker 6: looking at now. And I like Con Canipple, but I
[1:10:22] Speaker 6: don't love him. And I did think he had a...
[1:10:25] Speaker 6: He shocked me. I didn't think he'd be nearly as
[1:10:28] Speaker 6: good as he was as a rookie. And he made
[1:10:30] Speaker 6: a case that he had a better rookie year because
[1:10:32] Speaker 6: he made the most threes in the league than even
[1:10:35] Speaker 6: the guy in Dallas did, who was finally the winner.
[1:10:39] Speaker 6: But Miles Bridges was a key as a leader of
[1:10:43] Speaker 6: the group, and it just seems like now you're taking
[1:10:46] Speaker 6: a huge step backward where you've got draft picks. I
[1:10:50] Speaker 6: got it, but it feels like you're back just starting
[1:10:53] Speaker 6: over again where you've got to wait. You're going to
[1:10:56] Speaker 6: take a step back as a team. I'm not even
[1:10:58] Speaker 6: sure this is a playoff team in the East, and
[1:11:01] Speaker 6: I like Kobe White, and I understand Charles Lee saying
[1:11:06] Speaker 6: you're just more comfortable with him running the show. because
[1:11:09] Speaker 6: you speak the same language. I don't know what language
[1:11:12] Speaker 6: LaMelo speaks sometimes.
[1:11:14] Speaker 1: I don't know.
[1:11:14] Speaker 6: It's Martian or something. He's a crazy kid, but he
[1:11:19] Speaker 6: showed me a lot last year. And the other thing
[1:11:23] Speaker 6: about LaMelo is he does have the clutch gene. I
[1:11:27] Speaker 6: got to say, he makes a lot of big shots.
[1:11:30] Speaker 6: He made one out here one time against the Lakers.
[1:11:32] Speaker 6: It was two years ago. I don't know if you
[1:11:33] Speaker 6: remember the game, but LaMelo won the game with the
[1:11:36] Speaker 6: last second shot. He's got that in him. where the
[1:11:41] Speaker 6: brighter the lights, he's going to play to the lights
[1:11:44] Speaker 6: because he grew up that way. He was the baby
[1:11:47] Speaker 6: of the family, and you can say he's a spoiled
[1:11:49] Speaker 6: little brat and all that, and you're probably right. But
[1:11:52] Speaker 6: he is a huge basketball talent, and Miles Bridges was
[1:11:59] Speaker 6: the leadership driving force of the team, and you've yanked
[1:12:02] Speaker 6: them both out. And I don't... I just don't understand it.
[1:12:07] Speaker 1: I don't know.
[1:12:08] Speaker 6: Like Brandon Miller, is he a great player? Is he
[1:12:11] Speaker 6: a good player? He's a good player. And Con Canippo's
[1:12:14] Speaker 6: a good player. But LaMelo has some greatness about him.
[1:12:18] Speaker 6: He has some rare quality to him that you cannot
[1:12:21] Speaker 6: replace overnight. And I just don't, I just think they
[1:12:28] Speaker 6: went from potentially something special to something very average.
[1:12:34] Speaker 1: So what do they need? Hold on. That's just, I'm confused.
[1:12:38] Speaker 1: How about the Hornets? Yeah, so they were in the
[1:12:41] Speaker 1: play-in last year. So you don't think they can get
[1:12:44] Speaker 1: back to play-in status? No, I don't. I beg to differ.
[1:12:48] Speaker 1: In the East, I beg to differ.
[1:12:51] Speaker 6: But you like the coach.
[1:12:53] Speaker 1: I like Charles Lee.
[1:12:54] Speaker 6: I know you do. Well, he can't play.
[1:12:56] Speaker 1: He can coach, but he can't play.
[1:12:59] Speaker 6: And he can't do what LaMelo can.
[1:13:01] Speaker 1: They bought into what he was preaching towards the end
[1:13:05] Speaker 1: of the year.
[1:13:06] Speaker 5: I appreciate you. You just sat over there and said
[1:13:09] Speaker 5: the same shit I was just saying.
[1:13:10] Speaker 1: Who carried them in the player game? Down the stretch.
[1:13:15] Speaker 1: Who was in the game down the stretch who made
[1:13:18] Speaker 1: big shots? Kobe White.
[1:13:20] Speaker 6: Kobe White was very good. But then they went to
[1:13:23] Speaker 6: Orlando and lost 121-90. They got smoked in Orlando.
[1:13:28] Speaker 1: Right? Okay. 16 points per game.
[1:13:30] Speaker 2: I think he's playing like 19 minutes per game in
[1:13:33] Speaker 2: those 20-plus games that he made.
[1:13:34] Speaker 6: He's a good player.
[1:13:35] Speaker 1: So he can get to it.
[1:13:36] Speaker 5: So do you agree that they should have got more
[1:13:38] Speaker 5: for what they lost?
[1:13:39] Speaker 1: Mm-hmm.
[1:13:40] Speaker 5: In order to be able to go back to where
[1:13:42] Speaker 5: they just came from?
[1:13:43] Speaker 1: Why?
[1:13:43] Speaker 7: We're trying to change our environment. This is about changing everything.
[1:13:46] Speaker 7: If you change your environment, that environment needs to be
[1:13:48] Speaker 7: back to the playoffs. No, this environment is about we're
[1:13:51] Speaker 7: cleaning up. We're going to clean this shit up.
[1:13:53] Speaker 4: It's all this off-the-court bullshit, all this other stuff that's
[1:13:56] Speaker 4: going on. We're going to clean this up. We were
[1:13:58] Speaker 4: just planning to play a game, so we're still not
[1:14:00] Speaker 4: that good.
[1:14:00] Speaker 5: So are you telling me that they dumped him off then, right?
[1:14:05] Speaker 5: They dumped LaMelo off. Are you saying they're cleaning house?
[1:14:08] Speaker 5: It wasn't just LaMelo. Get this shit out of here.
[1:14:11] Speaker 5: It wasn't just him. It was Bridges too. It was
[1:14:14] Speaker 5: Bridges too though.
[1:14:16] Speaker 7: If you're going to dump me off, you're dumping me
[1:14:18] Speaker 7: off into a winning situation.
[1:14:19] Speaker 1: It's not like you're just dumping me off to some bullshit.
[1:14:22] Speaker 7: You're dumping me off to a situation to where I
[1:14:24] Speaker 7: have a chance to win and mature.
[1:14:26] Speaker 1: Just like with Bridges. It didn't work here yet.
[1:14:28] Speaker 4: It was wild off the court, all this other stuff,
[1:14:30] Speaker 4: but they're both going to situations where they can change.
[1:14:33] Speaker 1: Things can change for them.
[1:14:36] Speaker 4: It wasn't it there. So we got to change everything
[1:14:38] Speaker 4: around here. That's why we got to get room. And
[1:14:40] Speaker 4: it starts with them, too. So they got to go.
[1:14:42] Speaker 1: We got a young Brandon Miller that we drafted number two.
[1:14:44] Speaker 1: We're going to build through him. We're going to change
[1:14:47] Speaker 1: this around. So is Charlotte a playoff team or not? No.
[1:14:51] Speaker 1: It wasn't even a playoff team last year. Sean, do
[1:14:53] Speaker 1: you think the Hornets are a playoff team with these moves?
[1:14:55] Speaker 1: The only reason it gave them the benefit.
[1:14:58] Speaker 5: Of the doubt last year over the Bucs when I
[1:15:01] Speaker 5: did predict that was because of LaMelo Ball.
[1:15:03] Speaker 1: Okay. So now LaMelo– so Kobe White doesn't give you
[1:15:07] Speaker 1: the same interest?
[1:15:07] Speaker 4: We're probably in the same situation we was in this year.
[1:15:10] Speaker 5: Kobe White is a fire starter. He's a microwave. He's
[1:15:13] Speaker 5: not a traditional point guard. He's not LaMelo Ball. You
[1:15:17] Speaker 5: don't move LaMelo and say Kobe's going to replace him.
[1:15:21] Speaker 1: No, we're not just about him. We're changing the brand.
[1:15:25] Speaker 3: You're the type of coach that don't like players with confidence.
[1:15:28] Speaker 1: 20.7 to 65. You do your best to get rid
[1:15:31] Speaker 1: of him. You don't? So what are they going to
[1:15:34] Speaker 1: do in Minnesota, Nick? Yes, he will.
[1:15:38] Speaker 5: He had the freedom in Charlotte. They didn't like him
[1:15:40] Speaker 5: playing like that. They didn't like the way he was
[1:15:42] Speaker 5: playing in Charlotte.
[1:15:43] Speaker 1: They don't like him. So why is that going to
[1:15:46] Speaker 1: change in Minnesota?
[1:15:46] Speaker 3: It's coaches that deal with it. The coach in Minnesota
[1:15:49] Speaker 3: deal with all that.
[1:15:50] Speaker 1: No, he didn't. They just got rid of two niggas
[1:15:51] Speaker 1: with attitudes. But they know. Yes, they did.
[1:15:54] Speaker 7: That man is there. That was the one before that.
[1:15:59] Speaker 7: They got rid of Cat before that. Finch did not
[1:16:02] Speaker 7: like dynamic.
[1:16:03] Speaker 1: The only one he was willing to deal with was
[1:16:05] Speaker 1: Anthony Edwards.
[1:16:07] Speaker 5: And that's because the top said don't touch him.
[1:16:11] Speaker 1: So, LaMelo averaged 20.7 assists, five rebounds. He did. Right? Mm-hmm.
[1:16:18] Speaker 1: I believe Kobe White can give you 20.7 assists and
[1:16:22] Speaker 1: five rebounds a night in those minutes that LaMelo was
[1:16:25] Speaker 1: giving you. Has he ever done it? Like I said.
[1:16:28] Speaker 1: He said he believes he can. Like I said. I'm
[1:16:30] Speaker 1: asking a question, my nigga. Has he ever done it?
[1:16:33] Speaker 1: I don't know. I don't know. So what are you averaging?
[1:16:39] Speaker 1: 16 what and what? 16, 3, and 3. 16, 3,
[1:16:40] Speaker 1: and 3 in 19 minutes a game.
[1:16:41] Speaker 6: I understand.
[1:16:41] Speaker 1: So I believe he can give you four more points,
[1:16:44] Speaker 1: four more assists, and two more rebounds a night. Yeah.
[1:16:49] Speaker 1: That's not hard to do when you're in the game
[1:16:51] Speaker 1: and you've got the ball in your hand.
[1:16:52] Speaker 6: And it won't have.
[1:16:54] Speaker 1: The impact that LaMelo has. So what's the impact? I
[1:16:56] Speaker 1: know what you're talking about. The stardom. 29 minutes for
[1:16:58] Speaker 1: the Chicago Bulls. Yeah, you know how I look.
[1:17:00] Speaker 5: For 29 minutes for the Chicago Bulls, he averaged 18, 4,
[1:17:03] Speaker 5: and 3.
[1:17:08] Speaker 1: In 29 minutes.
[1:17:09] Speaker 6: Three assists.
[1:17:10] Speaker 1: Yes. No, four assists. Four assists.
[1:17:12] Speaker 5: And he's been averaging 30, 36 minutes, 33 minutes, 29 minutes.
[1:17:17] Speaker 5: None of those minutes in which he averaged 19, 20,
[1:17:19] Speaker 5: or 18 converted. into winning basketball.
[1:17:24] Speaker 1: And he was coming. I don't know if he was
[1:17:26] Speaker 1: coming off the bench or was he starting? I can't remember.
[1:17:29] Speaker 1: He's playing 30-something minutes a game. That don't matter. How
[1:17:32] Speaker 1: did he go to Charlotte? Why did he go to Charlotte?
[1:17:34] Speaker 1: Chicago was trying to get off of him.
[1:17:40] Speaker 5: Got trying to dump him off Chicago trying to dump
[1:17:45] Speaker 5: him off.
[1:17:45] Speaker 1: 18 18 point score again. You're trying to get off
[1:17:48] Speaker 1: of him because all he does is score.
[1:17:50] Speaker 5: He's not a traditional point guard He's a fire starter,
[1:17:53] Speaker 5: which is good for him, which is why he played.
[1:17:55] Speaker 1: Good next to Lomelo He did offset not having.
[1:17:58] Speaker 5: To have the fucking responsibility to get God set him
[1:18:01] Speaker 5: up and just do what you do best It's a
[1:18:03] Speaker 5: score score score each other Now you're going to butt
[1:18:06] Speaker 5: heads with Brandon Miller.
[1:18:07] Speaker 1: The only player who needs the ball. They can add
[1:18:10] Speaker 1: a star. You know, Charlotte can add a star. They
[1:18:13] Speaker 1: now have a D for a point guard. Charlotte now
[1:18:16] Speaker 1: needs a point guard. Charlotte can add a star. Charlotte
[1:18:18] Speaker 1: has about a $ 40.
[1:18:19] Speaker 2: Million trade exception that they can use to bring in
[1:18:22] Speaker 2: another player.
[1:18:23] Speaker 1: Go get D Fox. They need a point guard. Do
[1:18:26] Speaker 1: they not need a point guard? If he's not a
[1:18:28] Speaker 1: point guard. Who's not a point guard? Kobe White.
[1:18:31] Speaker 4: But, you know, they sold LaMelo Ball and Bridges at
[1:18:35] Speaker 4: their highest value right now.
[1:18:37] Speaker 1: That's just why they have. That's why I said Charlotte, like,
[1:18:39] Speaker 1: this is at their highest value right now. It's like
[1:18:41] Speaker 1: OTC did.
[1:18:42] Speaker 5: I think maybe last year was like. Not Melo, maybe
[1:18:47] Speaker 5: two years ago when Melo was averaging 25.
[1:18:50] Speaker 1: Yeah, but I think it's Bridges' highest. Bridges, yes.
[1:18:55] Speaker 2: Melo played 105 games the previous three seasons, played 72
[1:18:58] Speaker 2: games this season. A good time if you're Charlotte to
[1:19:00] Speaker 2: try to get some value for him, just saying, with
[1:19:03] Speaker 2: all the injury concerns.
[1:19:03] Speaker 1: I mean, they can still add a star.
[1:19:05] Speaker 4: And you still got 11 first-round draft picks, dog, and
[1:19:07] Speaker 4: 13 second-round draft picks.
[1:19:08] Speaker 1: That's a lot. But what he just said, though, you're
[1:19:10] Speaker 1: going back to rebuilding. You're going back to we have to.
[1:19:13] Speaker 1: We already suck, though. We were not good last year.
[1:19:16] Speaker 1: We had to play in the playing game. We're calling that.
[1:19:19] Speaker 1: We had momentum. Let's go back to his point.
[1:19:22] Speaker 5: He said, man, give it another year and see if
[1:19:24] Speaker 5: we can actually build on this.
[1:19:26] Speaker 1: Yeah. Especially if we're missing a real solidified big. What's
[1:19:30] Speaker 1: his name? Whatever. Yeah. Him, he ain't, I mean, I
[1:19:36] Speaker 1: don't consider him a reliable big. He's solid. Solid defender.
[1:19:39] Speaker 1: I mean, he gave you, what, eight rebounds?
[1:19:41] Speaker 5: And then you had Miles at the four, solid. You
[1:19:44] Speaker 5: got Brandon Miller and Conca Nipples, solid. You got LaMelo Ball, solid.
[1:19:48] Speaker 5: You could build around that.
[1:19:50] Speaker 1: You could have. Well, they didn't.
[1:19:52] Speaker 5: And they didn't. Now we're back here. Like you just said,
[1:19:55] Speaker 5: they look like they're going back to the drawing board.
[1:19:58] Speaker 6: And remember, the last 45 games last year in the
[1:20:01] Speaker 6: regular season, they go 32 and 13. It's hard to do.
[1:20:05] Speaker 6: It's hard to get.
[1:20:06] Speaker 1: Absolutely.
[1:20:06] Speaker 6: It's hard to sustain that long. really good was happening.
[1:20:12] Speaker 1: It looked good. Six road wins, 15 plus points. It
[1:20:15] Speaker 1: looked great. It looked great. It looked great. Yes, what
[1:20:19] Speaker 1: the Hornets were doing when they were winning.
[1:20:21] Speaker 4: They went 32 and 13 and still was in the playoff,
[1:20:24] Speaker 4: in the playing game.
[1:20:24] Speaker 1: That's because they were at the bottom of the league
[1:20:26] Speaker 1: when they started. 11 and 23 at January 1st. They
[1:20:30] Speaker 1: started off real bad, but they made a comeback. They
[1:20:32] Speaker 1: dealt with some injuries. They dealt with some things with
[1:20:33] Speaker 1: the roster.
[1:20:34] Speaker 5: Not without no Lomelo-ball type players.
[1:20:37] Speaker 2: I beg to differ. They're starting five net rating. One
[1:20:40] Speaker 2: of the best in NBA history, I think, after January 1st.
[1:20:43] Speaker 1: Come on, man.
[1:20:43] Speaker 5: And then you got rid of two of those guys
[1:20:46] Speaker 5: out of that. Two of the guys that actually catered
[1:20:49] Speaker 5: and anchored that shit.
[1:20:50] Speaker 1: They did it for a reason. I will. Stupidity is
[1:20:53] Speaker 1: one of you just talking about stupidity. They did it
[1:20:55] Speaker 1: for a reason. They did it for a reason. Hold
[1:20:57] Speaker 1: on a minute.
[1:20:57] Speaker 6: They can win merit badges, but they're not going to
[1:20:59] Speaker 6: win playoffs.
[1:21:00] Speaker 1: We'll see. It's the Hornets. Yeah. Gray uniforms, I think
[1:21:05] Speaker 1: we can all agree. Shit, it's the fucking Wolves. Quality
[1:21:07] Speaker 1: starter jacket. It's the Wolves, too. What you mean? Nah,
[1:21:09] Speaker 1: it's the Hornets. I think they both won.
[1:21:12] Speaker 2: Well, let's shift this conversation over. So while Jalen Brown's
[1:21:15] Speaker 2: future with the Celtics remains unclear heading into the summer,
[1:21:18] Speaker 2: what is clear is the former finals MVP is not
[1:21:20] Speaker 2: one to have his name played with, especially by the
[1:21:23] Speaker 2: analytics community. So Brown has been mentioned in trade rumors
[1:21:26] Speaker 2: this offseason, despite coming off the best season of his career,
[1:21:29] Speaker 2: where he finished sixth in MVP voting, made a second
[1:21:32] Speaker 2: All-NBA team, a fourth straight All-Star team, while leading the
[1:21:35] Speaker 2: undermanned Celtics to the two-seed position. There are still some
[1:21:38] Speaker 2: out there refusing to put the appropriate amount of respect
[1:21:40] Speaker 2: on his name. So during a recent radio interview, ESPN
[1:21:43] Speaker 2: front office insider Bobby Marks had this to say about
[1:21:46] Speaker 2: how Brown is viewed in the league.
[1:21:48] Speaker 8: There's mixed feelings about him when you talk to teams.
[1:21:51] Speaker 8: The analytics of Jalen Brown is not good. I'm more
[1:21:55] Speaker 8: of an eye test guy. There are some people out
[1:21:57] Speaker 8: there that look at that a little bit more deeper
[1:22:00] Speaker 8: than what the eye test says. I had one, not
[1:22:02] Speaker 8: an executive, but an analytics guy saying, yeah, we view
[1:22:05] Speaker 8: him as like the seventh best player on a team.
[1:22:07] Speaker 8: I was like, holy crap.
[1:22:09] Speaker 1: Oh, my God.
[1:22:10] Speaker 8: What a, like, I get it. There's a rule for
[1:22:13] Speaker 8: analytics and stuff, but. Well, I guess they call it,
[1:22:15] Speaker 8: I joked, I said, I guess we call that strategy now.
[1:22:17] Speaker 1: Wow.
[1:22:18] Speaker 8: Seventh best player on a team? So I was like,
[1:22:23] Speaker 8: wait a minute, that's a little bit, that's a little
[1:22:25] Speaker 8: bit of a stretch.
[1:22:27] Speaker 2: This is Bobby Marks and he talks to an analytics
[1:22:29] Speaker 2: guy who said that Jalen Brown was the seventh best
[1:22:31] Speaker 2: player on the team. So Brown fired back with the
[1:22:34] Speaker 2: following tweet on the app formerly known as Twitter. Brown
[1:22:37] Speaker 2: followed that up with another tweet saying, And then with
[1:22:40] Speaker 2: another one that said, analytics have are ruining the game we.
[1:23:02] Speaker 1: Play in AI hoops.
[1:23:04] Speaker 2: So shortly after Brown posted his initial tweet, Bobby Marks
[1:23:07] Speaker 2: commented underneath it with the following. Mark said, but what
[1:23:11] Speaker 2: wasn't posted was a two minutes of saying, I'm not
[1:23:14] Speaker 2: an analytics person, but an eye test guy that I
[1:23:16] Speaker 2: would want Jalen Brown on my team that you impact
[1:23:20] Speaker 2: winning 191 and 80 in the last four years, top
[1:23:23] Speaker 2: 10 player and would help any team looking to win
[1:23:26] Speaker 2: a championship. That part of the course didn't make it,
[1:23:29] Speaker 2: but that's the media in 2026.
[1:23:32] Speaker 1: Jalen Brown quoted that tweet.
[1:23:33] Speaker 2: Well, you gotta fix it. It said, state your source.
[1:23:39] Speaker 2: Like I mentioned, Mark's defense, that was just a snippet.
[1:23:42] Speaker 2: He said that didn't necessarily reflect his personal feelings. There
[1:23:44] Speaker 2: was mixed feelings about Jalen Brown around the league, but
[1:23:47] Speaker 2: either way, the damage has been done.
[1:23:50] Speaker 1: So, Swaggy, we'll start with you.
[1:23:51] Speaker 2: What's your reaction to Jalen Brown clapping back at Bobby
[1:23:53] Speaker 2: Marks in the basketball analytics community?
[1:23:55] Speaker 1: He should. This is crazy, man.
[1:23:58] Speaker 3: The fact you could even say something like that on
[1:24:01] Speaker 3: TV or radio or whatever it was is crazy. In fact,
[1:24:05] Speaker 3: you mentioned Jalen Brown being the ninth person on the team,
[1:24:08] Speaker 3: and you even bring that up.
[1:24:10] Speaker 2: The seventh best player. This is what the analytics guy
[1:24:12] Speaker 2: told him. They said there's mixed feelings about him.
[1:24:14] Speaker 3: It's just everybody talk about they want a two-way player
[1:24:19] Speaker 3: that can give you 25 a night and guard the
[1:24:22] Speaker 3: best person on the other team.
[1:24:27] Speaker 1: Until you beef with Stephen A. Smith.
[1:24:29] Speaker 3: So now nobody want him. in trade rumors every day.
[1:24:34] Speaker 3: It's crazy. So you just see the machine happening. Let's
[1:24:40] Speaker 3: hope you stay focused, man. Stay locked in.
[1:24:43] Speaker 1: Stay focused on the prize game. Let's shift over to you.
[1:24:45] Speaker 2: What's your reaction to Jalen Brown clapping back at the
[1:24:48] Speaker 2: basketball analytics community? Bobby Marks saying that an analytics guy
[1:24:51] Speaker 2: told him that he was the seventh best player on
[1:24:54] Speaker 2: the team.
[1:24:55] Speaker 1: I know Bobby Marks well. He was with the Nets
[1:24:57] Speaker 1: when I got drafted. He's a numbers guy. He just
[1:25:01] Speaker 1: was repeating something he heard. It wasn't his thoughts. Like
[1:25:04] Speaker 1: he stated, if you listen to the rest of the interview,
[1:25:07] Speaker 1: he thought it was absurd for somebody to be saying that.
[1:25:11] Speaker 1: Not his words. He just repeated what he heard, which
[1:25:15] Speaker 1: is a crazy statement. He said, I'm an artist guy.
[1:25:18] Speaker 1: Analytics is, to Jalen Brown's point, ruining the game in
[1:25:23] Speaker 1: real time. There's a lot of people that work for
[1:25:27] Speaker 1: teams that's not qualified. because they can put numbers in
[1:25:33] Speaker 1: a computer and go in a room and sound smarter
[1:25:37] Speaker 1: than someone who actually played the game because you didn't
[1:25:41] Speaker 1: put numbers in a computer. You put numbers in a
[1:25:44] Speaker 1: distal master and it spit out certain things. That's what
[1:25:49] Speaker 1: this is. And Jalen Brown has proven that he's not
[1:25:53] Speaker 1: going to allow any slander on his name in real
[1:25:56] Speaker 1: time when he has a voice to speak out, different
[1:25:58] Speaker 1: platforms to speak out on that. which I applaud. But yeah, no,
[1:26:05] Speaker 1: Bobby is not the one who needs to be catching
[1:26:09] Speaker 1: a stray here. State your source. You don't have to.
[1:26:16] Speaker 1: You don't, for what? For what? Like you said, it's
[1:26:20] Speaker 1: absurd to him, so his feelings are, I don't believe it. Therefore,
[1:26:34] Speaker 1: I'm trying, bro. It is Monday.
[1:26:37] Speaker 2: You can do whatever you like. It's the start of
[1:26:40] Speaker 2: the week. Free agency. Almost upon us.
[1:26:43] Speaker 1: That's sick. Yeah. Huh? Now, go ahead, bro.
[1:26:47] Speaker 2: Less than 26 hours away from free agency starting.
[1:26:51] Speaker 1: I remember fighting too to nail for Jalen Brown. Mm.
[1:26:55] Speaker 1: So that's all the faces and shit what I'm talking
[1:26:57] Speaker 1: and shit for? Yeah. Because you said you applauded him,
[1:27:00] Speaker 1: but you wasn't... Just speaking up for him? Speaking up
[1:27:02] Speaker 1: for himself. We'd be playing with his name? Yeah. Yeah,
[1:27:04] Speaker 1: because we had a whole thing where y'all niggas was
[1:27:06] Speaker 1: on my neck about that. About what? About what he said. No, no, no, no.
[1:27:10] Speaker 1: So therefore, don't put words in our mouth. What me
[1:27:13] Speaker 1: and Brandon see... I'm glad you jumped out there like
[1:27:16] Speaker 1: a goddamn idiot right now. What me and Brandon was
[1:27:19] Speaker 1: talking about was the choice of words that he chose
[1:27:22] Speaker 1: to use when he said it was his favorite season.
[1:27:25] Speaker 1: That's what the fuck you were trying to defend in here.
[1:27:28] Speaker 1: That's a different conversation So since all you want to
[1:27:31] Speaker 1: always want to fucking have something to want to be
[1:27:33] Speaker 1: ready to rebuttal about some shit. You're fucking wrong No,
[1:27:36] Speaker 1: I'm not. Yes, you are. No, I'm not. So Brandon
[1:27:38] Speaker 1: was that not the point we were making? No. Yeah. No, Brandon. No,
[1:27:42] Speaker 1: was it? No. Yeah, he was defending though. We said
[1:27:44] Speaker 1: he was right.
[1:27:45] Speaker 5: No, you can't say what what you want to say,
[1:27:48] Speaker 5: remember y'all tried to talk me out of a square.
[1:27:51] Speaker 1: Freedom of speech is not free.
[1:27:54] Speaker 5: Freedom of speech is not free is what we said.
[1:27:58] Speaker 5: We stated that Ben Brandon was in his full circle moment.
[1:28:03] Speaker 1: I have a photographic memory.
[1:28:05] Speaker 5: I'm very, very, very good at this.
[1:28:08] Speaker 1: We were saying that we had a problem with you
[1:28:10] Speaker 1: saying that it was your favorite season, the words that
[1:28:12] Speaker 1: you were choosing to use in that moment. This is
[1:28:14] Speaker 1: after you won and that's what Steve Bell was the
[1:28:16] Speaker 1: whole thing. He might say whatever it is. Fuck you
[1:28:18] Speaker 1: won't we say? And this regard I said he has
[1:28:20] Speaker 1: the right to defend himself He has proven that he
[1:28:22] Speaker 1: is going to speak up people playing on his name
[1:28:24] Speaker 1: I applaud him in that regard in this because we're
[1:28:26] Speaker 1: talking about better Has the right to defend himself. He
[1:28:31] Speaker 1: has proven. That he is going to speak up. People
[1:28:34] Speaker 1: playing on his name. I applaud him in that regard.
[1:28:38] Speaker 1: In this. Because we're talking about basketball here. We're talking
[1:28:42] Speaker 1: about basketball. He had the right to defend himself. In
[1:28:46] Speaker 1: that conversation too. I'm speaking up for Bobby Marks in
[1:28:49] Speaker 1: this regard. Because Bobby didn't say it. He said his
[1:28:52] Speaker 1: words are. I like Jalen Brown. Give me Jalen Brown
[1:28:57] Speaker 1: on my team. Any day. Right. I think it's absurd
[1:29:01] Speaker 1: that someone says he's the seventh best player on his team.
[1:29:04] Speaker 1: That's what Bobby Marks says. So Jalen Brown is speaking.
[1:29:07] Speaker 5: There's no reason to say that. There's no reason to
[1:29:10] Speaker 5: say it. There's no reason to say it if you
[1:29:12] Speaker 5: don't feel it. Who the fuck am I going to
[1:29:14] Speaker 5: say something? All the time you don't fucking mean.
[1:29:15] Speaker 1: I don't like this. You say shit all the time.
[1:29:18] Speaker 1: I say this. You don't fucking mean. And I'm going
[1:29:20] Speaker 1: to say this. Why would I do that? You say
[1:29:21] Speaker 1: shit all the time that you don't mean. I'm not
[1:29:23] Speaker 1: starting narratives. Just a click bait of motherfuckers. I'm not
[1:29:25] Speaker 1: starting narratives. Just a rage bait of getting clicked shit.
[1:29:28] Speaker 1: You say shit all the motherfucking time you don't mean. No,
[1:29:31] Speaker 1: I don't. Yes, you did. You said that very scene.
[1:29:32] Speaker 1: Say it, you do. No, I don't. You said this
[1:29:34] Speaker 1: very seriously. I defend myself. I defend myself. I thought
[1:29:39] Speaker 1: you'd be used to it by now. I come in here, bitch,
[1:29:41] Speaker 1: you have to click, rage bait, click bait. Yeah, you
[1:29:44] Speaker 1: said that shit. That was just with you. That was
[1:29:45] Speaker 1: just with you. That's not with everybody. You say shit
[1:29:47] Speaker 1: all the time that you don't believe. That's just with you.
[1:29:49] Speaker 1: Because you say shit all the time and you tell
[1:29:51] Speaker 1: niggas to put their feelings in their pockets. You say
[1:29:53] Speaker 1: shit all the time. But then your feelings pour out
[1:29:55] Speaker 1: when I'm triggering. No, no. Don't, like I said. All right.
[1:29:58] Speaker 1: Because you act like a female. So go in there.
[1:30:01] Speaker 1: So going back, we both acting like females right now.
[1:30:04] Speaker 1: Because you got in your feelings and you're in your
[1:30:06] Speaker 1: feelings right now. This ain't got shit to do with me.
[1:30:09] Speaker 1: This got everything to do with what I said before.
[1:30:11] Speaker 5: No, this ain't got shit to do with me. Jalen
[1:30:14] Speaker 5: Brown has the right to.
[1:30:16] Speaker 1: Defend himself at all. You're wrong. You're wrong. You're wrong.
[1:30:20] Speaker 1: You're wrong. You're wrong. I didn't apply shit that you
[1:30:23] Speaker 1: favorite year. He has the right to say that. Okay, cool. Yes. Cool.
[1:30:28] Speaker 1: And that was my, I said, he could say what
[1:30:30] Speaker 1: he wants to say. That's cool. And then, you know
[1:30:33] Speaker 1: what they said? No, he can't. Okay. No, he can't.
[1:30:37] Speaker 1: Wait a second. No, he can't.
[1:30:38] Speaker 6: They had just lost three home games to Philadelphia, right?
[1:30:42] Speaker 1: This is my favorite season. My favorite season. And people
[1:30:46] Speaker 1: had a problem with you saying that.
[1:30:48] Speaker 5: And I don't give a fuck about nobody else having
[1:30:50] Speaker 5: a problem about what I say.
[1:30:52] Speaker 1: Now, people have a problem with what I'm saying now.
[1:30:54] Speaker 1: Should I still care? I'm defending myself in the same manner.
[1:30:59] Speaker 1: What's the difference? We're talking basketball here.
[1:31:02] Speaker 6: Did you like him saying that?
[1:31:04] Speaker 5: Listen, you have to speak up for yourself when people
[1:31:06] Speaker 5: are going against you. People are creating false narratives. This
[1:31:11] Speaker 5: Bobby March thing is like, why would you bring this
[1:31:13] Speaker 5: up if this wasn't going to affect my perception and
[1:31:15] Speaker 5: my reputation and how you look at me?
[1:31:18] Speaker 1: Since 2016, they've been.
[1:31:20] Speaker 5: Throwing shots at Jalen Brown due to him being too
[1:31:24] Speaker 5: intelligent for the space.
[1:31:25] Speaker 1: You are too educated. So now here we are. I'm
[1:31:27] Speaker 1: an activist.
[1:31:28] Speaker 5: I've been in the streets with the fucking protesters. I've
[1:31:31] Speaker 5: been really building back. And I got 300 million said
[1:31:34] Speaker 5: I'm going to build Black Wall Street in Boston.
[1:31:37] Speaker 1: Are you serious? So when I go to defend him,
[1:31:44] Speaker 1: he can't say what he wants.
[1:31:45] Speaker 5: You know you can't say what you want. That's all
[1:31:48] Speaker 5: my point was. It just resonates now. It's a full
[1:31:52] Speaker 5: circle moment.
[1:31:52] Speaker 1: It ain't a full circle shit. Dead wrong.
[1:31:54] Speaker 5: So does it help him? Does what help you? The
[1:31:57] Speaker 5: point we were making, it didn't help.
[1:31:59] Speaker 1: Does it help you? Does it help that Bobby Marsh
[1:32:01] Speaker 1: is doing this shit right now? I'm just answering to everybody,
[1:32:04] Speaker 1: what they're saying and everything. 100% it helps him.
[1:32:07] Speaker 5: He's liberating other players to be able to speak up
[1:32:10] Speaker 5: for themselves.
[1:32:11] Speaker 1: Don't let these.
[1:32:11] Speaker 5: Motherfucking ESPN niggas create Narratives on you when you don't
[1:32:15] Speaker 5: got no voice to speak on your own.
[1:32:17] Speaker 1: Now come out and say, state your source, Bobby. Who
[1:32:19] Speaker 1: told you those analytical things that I was the seventh
[1:32:21] Speaker 1: best player? Who told you that, bro?
[1:32:24] Speaker 5: You just made it up when you said you don't
[1:32:26] Speaker 5: believe it. So let's just say I don't believe it, but.
[1:32:29] Speaker 1: Same person over here talking about, I got all the
[1:32:32] Speaker 1: receipts on what was said about me. You ain't said
[1:32:34] Speaker 1: nobody named me. I don't have to because I don't
[1:32:36] Speaker 1: give a fuck about what other people say. He decided
[1:32:39] Speaker 1: to do it. He's decided to do it.
[1:32:41] Speaker 5: If I do it, it's going to hurt some motherfucking feelings.
[1:32:44] Speaker 5: It's going to hurt feelings. It's going to hurt feelings
[1:32:47] Speaker 5: if I do it. It's going to hurt feelings if
[1:32:49] Speaker 5: I do it. It's going to hurt feelings. It's going
[1:32:52] Speaker 5: to hurt feelings.
[1:32:53] Speaker 1: I've done it. I fought against North Carolina and the
[1:32:57] Speaker 1: NCAA for 10 years. I know what it is.
[1:33:01] Speaker 5: I know what it is to fight for something and
[1:33:03] Speaker 5: to have everybody.
[1:33:04] Speaker 1: Not like you. So once again, it's about you. Because
[1:33:07] Speaker 1: you back. So this is about you and your Jalen.
[1:33:09] Speaker 5: Brown and people like me because I'm like him.
[1:33:12] Speaker 1: Because I'm like him. Because I'm like him. So it's
[1:33:14] Speaker 1: about you. It's about us. So it's about you. It's
[1:33:16] Speaker 1: about us. So it's about you. It's about us. So
[1:33:18] Speaker 1: it's about you. I thought you were a little Steven though.
[1:33:21] Speaker 1: So it's about you. It's about us. I thought you
[1:33:23] Speaker 1: said you was Lil' Steven. I'm Lil' me now. I'm Lil'
[1:33:25] Speaker 1: Skip now. What did you say, Nick? I'm Lil' Skip now.
[1:33:28] Speaker 1: I'm Lil' Skip now. Nick, what did he say, Nick?
[1:33:31] Speaker 1: I thought he said Lil' Steve. Two years ago. I
[1:33:33] Speaker 1: was Lil' Steven two years ago. But now you're on
[1:33:35] Speaker 1: Jalen Brown time. Yeah.
[1:33:36] Speaker 5: I've been on Jalen Brown time. I've been on Jalen
[1:33:40] Speaker 5: Brown time. I was the first Jalen Brown. So when
[1:33:43] Speaker 5: he beefing with Steven A. Smith, then who are you then?
[1:33:45] Speaker 5: I'm Jalen Brown because I've already spoke out against Steven A.
[1:33:49] Speaker 5: about the shit that he said, which is why he
[1:33:50] Speaker 5: did a 13-minute video to me.
[1:33:54] Speaker 1: Not anybody else. To me. Twice he's done that. And
[1:33:59] Speaker 1: then you said you was little Steven after. Good job, Nick.
[1:34:06] Speaker 1: I just got a good job, Nick. I just got
[1:34:08] Speaker 1: to ease the room. Good job, Nick. The point that
[1:34:11] Speaker 1: we were making, right? You're good at that. I wish
[1:34:13] Speaker 1: you would do it.
[1:34:14] Speaker 5: To somebody else, though, instead of me, my nigga.
[1:34:16] Speaker 1: Was it helping him or not, right? That's the point
[1:34:20] Speaker 1: that the conversation was, right? Is it helping the perception
[1:34:25] Speaker 1: that people have about him? is the conversation we were
[1:34:28] Speaker 1: having prior to this one, right? Is it helping him
[1:34:32] Speaker 1: to keep going back and forth with the me, this, that,
[1:34:33] Speaker 1: and the third, right? He can do it. If he
[1:34:38] Speaker 1: feel people are playing with his name, you have the
[1:34:40] Speaker 1: right to do that. The point we were making is
[1:34:44] Speaker 1: after the season, favorite season, is this helping him in
[1:34:48] Speaker 1: this moment to be going back with Stephen A about this?
[1:34:51] Speaker 1: But why isn't it helping them? That's why. Say it again.
[1:34:54] Speaker 1: Why isn't it helping them? Because for the people, same
[1:34:58] Speaker 1: thing with LeBron, right? Same thing with LeBron, right? The
[1:35:00] Speaker 1: people that dislike him, the people that dislike you already
[1:35:04] Speaker 1: or have something negative to say, this is not in
[1:35:08] Speaker 1: that regard, right? The people that like you and love you,
[1:35:10] Speaker 1: they're going to do that anyway. But is it obvious, though?
[1:35:13] Speaker 1: Isn't it obvious what they're doing? It happens. He ain't
[1:35:19] Speaker 1: the first person. So, Nick, imagine him not saying nothing.
[1:35:22] Speaker 7: They just run with it.
[1:35:23] Speaker 1: Cool. They run with it. Like, this is a good thing. No,
[1:35:27] Speaker 1: it's not all the time, Nick.
[1:35:29] Speaker 6: Listen, I hear you.
[1:35:30] Speaker 1: Yes. Nick, yes. Like, back in the day, you couldn't
[1:35:34] Speaker 1: say nothing to that. You couldn't say that. Nothing. But
[1:35:40] Speaker 1: when it's starting to affect your daily, when your job,
[1:35:44] Speaker 1: when it's starting to affect your place of business, then
[1:35:48] Speaker 1: it becomes an issue for people. Trade rumors.
[1:35:52] Speaker 7: Rumors ain't shit. That ain't affecting him. Ain't nothing happening.
[1:35:55] Speaker 7: He's still on the team. It ain't my words. It
[1:35:58] Speaker 7: ain't the way I feel. This is the perception that's
[1:36:02] Speaker 7: out there. It's not helping that. It's not helping him.
[1:36:05] Speaker 1: The perception that people might have about him, that he's
[1:36:07] Speaker 1: hard to deal with, that he's not marketable, all those
[1:36:10] Speaker 1: negative things that people have to say, you answering people
[1:36:13] Speaker 1: and address it in a certain manner, in some people's mind,
[1:36:17] Speaker 1: it's not helping that. Right? That's all. I don't feel
[1:36:21] Speaker 1: that way. Speak up for yourself. If people got something
[1:36:23] Speaker 1: to say about you, absolutely speak up for your damn self.
[1:36:27] Speaker 1: But in real time, in a lot of people's mind,
[1:36:30] Speaker 1: it's not helping the situation and what you have going
[1:36:33] Speaker 1: on for the trade rumors and all the negative, why
[1:36:36] Speaker 1: you wasn't on the Olympic team and all of those things.
[1:36:39] Speaker 1: That's what people now, so now people be like, see,
[1:36:43] Speaker 1: that's why. But shouldn't it be about basketball? Who created that?
[1:36:47] Speaker 1: Who created that for the people to say that? It's
[1:36:50] Speaker 1: Stephen did. He made that up so people could say, see?
[1:36:55] Speaker 1: That's what you learn in psychology class. He didn't make
[1:36:58] Speaker 1: that up. So Stephen A went and something that he
[1:37:02] Speaker 1: once again Stephen A. went on TV and said something
[1:37:05] Speaker 1: that he heard that Jalen Brown wasn't marketable and all
[1:37:09] Speaker 1: these things. It wasn't his words.
[1:37:11] Speaker 5: But that heard what you heard created a narrative.
[1:37:15] Speaker 1: But you created a narrative that wasn't true. He is
[1:37:18] Speaker 1: a news anchor. He's reporting news. That's just what it is.
[1:37:23] Speaker 1: And he doesn't have to state where that news came from.
[1:37:26] Speaker 1: How long does it become? He doesn't. That's just what
[1:37:29] Speaker 1: it is.
[1:37:30] Speaker 5: And once again, Bobby Marks is stating what he heard
[1:37:33] Speaker 5: from someone else. That's just not the way they feel.
[1:37:37] Speaker 5: I like Jalen Brown as a fucking basketball player.
[1:37:41] Speaker 1: I like for Jalen Brown to speak up for himself.
[1:37:43] Speaker 1: I do.
[1:37:44] Speaker 5: I heard some shit about you, but I'm not going
[1:37:47] Speaker 5: to tell you who told me.
[1:37:50] Speaker 1: Right? That's one. Wait, wait. That's everyday life.
[1:37:57] Speaker 5: So who's to say you didn't say that shit?
[1:38:00] Speaker 1: Who's to say you didn't hear it? You don't like me.
[1:38:04] Speaker 1: You just made that shit up.
[1:38:05] Speaker 5: Now you're saying somebody fucking told you. Because you can
[1:38:09] Speaker 5: because you're the media.
[1:38:10] Speaker 7: That is the bullshit of fucking perception.
[1:38:14] Speaker 1: And people that think that way think the world is
[1:38:16] Speaker 1: out to get them. That everybody has something.
[1:38:19] Speaker 5: So why are you not stating your source?
[1:38:21] Speaker 1: Why wouldn't I.
[1:38:22] Speaker 5: Think everyone's out to get me if you're creating rumors
[1:38:24] Speaker 5: and you're not telling me who said it?
[1:38:26] Speaker 1: That's women's shit. That's bitch shit. They are out to
[1:38:31] Speaker 1: get him right now. Who? This man is active. NBA
[1:38:34] Speaker 1: player has a job.
[1:38:35] Speaker 3: And the fact that you would say he's the seventh
[1:38:38] Speaker 3: guy on the roster is crazy.
[1:38:39] Speaker 1: He just celebrated his ninth. That's his opinion though. That's
[1:38:45] Speaker 1: his opinion.
[1:38:46] Speaker 7: And that's analytical guy's opinion.
[1:38:50] Speaker 5: So why did the analytical guy didn't say it?
[1:38:53] Speaker 7: Because he wasn't being interviewed and he wasn't asked the question.
[1:38:59] Speaker 1: So why are you hiding behind it? Why are you hiding?
[1:39:03] Speaker 1: Start the interview out with like Jalen Brown. I heard
[1:39:06] Speaker 1: Jalen Brown analytical. God told me he's a 7-0 He
[1:39:08] Speaker 1: was asked the question and he was asked a question
[1:39:11] Speaker 1: about the trade rooms everything that's around in jail and.
[1:39:13] Speaker 5: That was Quoted and I want you Right.
[1:39:18] Speaker 2: Yeah, then Bobby mark did defend himself with skip. I
[1:39:21] Speaker 2: want to get your take on this whole situation We
[1:39:23] Speaker 2: think about Jalen Brown side Bobby mark side. How do
[1:39:26] Speaker 2: you feel about Jalen Brown clapping back at the analytics community?
[1:39:30] Speaker 6: Okay, so You know Bobby Marks.
[1:39:32] Speaker 1: Yes, well.
[1:39:33] Speaker 6: I've been around him enough to know, and I have
[1:39:35] Speaker 6: respect for his knowledge. And he misspoke this, and it
[1:39:41] Speaker 6: didn't come across correctly because he just threw in out
[1:39:44] Speaker 6: of nowhere. I'm talking to an analytics guy, not an executive,
[1:39:48] Speaker 6: but an analytics guy who says he's the seventh player
[1:39:52] Speaker 6: on a team analytically because his true shoot, and nobody
[1:39:56] Speaker 6: wants to hear this, but that's what we're talking about here,
[1:39:58] Speaker 6: His true shooting is way down for his caliber of player.
[1:40:03] Speaker 6: His three-point shooting has always been average at best. He's
[1:40:06] Speaker 6: a 35% career three-point shooter. So for higher usage rate,
[1:40:13] Speaker 6: it's not as productive as it should be for the
[1:40:15] Speaker 6: time he has the basketball in his hands. But at
[1:40:18] Speaker 6: least Bobby Marks was trying to say in the context of,
[1:40:23] Speaker 6: I'm an eye test guy. I'm not sure Bobby Marks
[1:40:25] Speaker 6: is an eye test guy. I think he was trying
[1:40:27] Speaker 6: to sort of save himself there. Because if you do
[1:40:31] Speaker 6: use the eye test or the gut test on Jalen Brown,
[1:40:34] Speaker 6: I've said this from the start that now you're asking
[1:40:36] Speaker 6: me my opinion of Jalen Brown. I've said from day one,
[1:40:39] Speaker 6: he's better than Jason Tatum. That's how I feel. I'll
[1:40:43] Speaker 6: take him over Jason Tatum any day or night because
[1:40:47] Speaker 6: that that thing inside him. that thin-skinned, defensive, I'm going
[1:40:52] Speaker 6: to fire back at anybody, including Stephen A. I like
[1:40:55] Speaker 6: that on my basketball team. I want him on the
[1:40:57] Speaker 6: court because that drives him to be who he is.
[1:41:01] Speaker 1: It affects winning.
[1:41:03] Speaker 6: Does he affect winning? All I know for sure is.
[1:41:08] Speaker 6: When Jason Tatum decided to come back prematurely last year
[1:41:12] Speaker 6: because he was doing what he was doing, I believe
[1:41:14] Speaker 6: because they don't hate each other, but they are arch
[1:41:17] Speaker 6: rivals within the confines of the Boston Celtics. Do you
[1:41:21] Speaker 6: remember the closeout game against Dallas in the finals? Jason
[1:41:25] Speaker 6: Tatum's coming back in the game in the fourth quarter
[1:41:27] Speaker 6: trying to shoot his way to the MVP, and I'm like,
[1:41:29] Speaker 6: just stop it. Because that guy already won the MVP,
[1:41:32] Speaker 6: Jalen Brown, by the defensive job.
[1:41:35] Speaker 1: Oh, narratives is goddamn crazy. What's that? Go ahead. Yeah. Okay.
[1:41:40] Speaker 6: So Jalen Brown.
[1:41:42] Speaker 1: You better not sigh away from it either. You better not.
[1:41:45] Speaker 1: Go let them cook. Let them cook. I'm just waiting
[1:41:47] Speaker 1: to go. I'm just waiting to go.
[1:41:48] Speaker 6: When Jason Tatum came back prematurely, they were 44-21 in
[1:41:55] Speaker 6: a gap year where they were supposed to be nothing.
[1:41:58] Speaker 6: They weren't even supposed to be a playoff team. And
[1:42:00] Speaker 6: it was all because of the favorite year of Jalen Brown.
[1:42:05] Speaker 6: Because he was averaging career highs, 29 and 7 rebounds
[1:42:08] Speaker 6: and 5 assists. And he was ranking in overall defensive
[1:42:12] Speaker 6: win shares 21st, which is still very good because he's
[1:42:16] Speaker 6: that good. And all I know is he won... The
[1:42:19] Speaker 6: conference finals MVP, and he backed it up with a
[1:42:22] Speaker 6: finals MVP in which he shut Luka down, especially from three,
[1:42:26] Speaker 6: where Luka had been hot against the Timberwolves in the
[1:42:29] Speaker 6: previous round. And in the finals, Luka shot 11 of
[1:42:32] Speaker 6: 45 from three because Jalen Brown was in his jock
[1:42:36] Speaker 6: the whole five games that it lasted. And in the end,
[1:42:41] Speaker 6: I'll just.
[1:42:42] Speaker 1: He is.
[1:42:44] Speaker 6: He is the bigger reason they have been the Boston
[1:42:47] Speaker 6: Celtics and won the championship. He's a bigger reason than
[1:42:49] Speaker 6: Jason Tatum is. That's just me.
[1:42:52] Speaker 1: Where's the finals?
[1:42:52] Speaker 6: No.
[1:42:53] Speaker 1: Well, I'm going to be honest. I've been saying this.
[1:42:57] Speaker 4: I said I saw the writing on the wall when
[1:43:00] Speaker 4: he got that finals MVP.
[1:43:02] Speaker 1: And I always knew it was something there.
[1:43:05] Speaker 4: And now he's in a position where he's he's had
[1:43:07] Speaker 4: he's had his best season.
[1:43:08] Speaker 1: He's still not getting the respect.
[1:43:10] Speaker 4: He wasn't even getting the respect back then when I
[1:43:12] Speaker 4: was saying that he was the best player on the team.
[1:43:14] Speaker 1: And I just saw it.
[1:43:14] Speaker 4: I mean, you're dealing with a kid that's very intelligent,
[1:43:16] Speaker 4: that's very smart, that knows a lot, that can come
[1:43:20] Speaker 4: off a little uncomfortable for a lot of people who's
[1:43:22] Speaker 4: not on that level of intelligence. So for him, I mean,
[1:43:26] Speaker 4: I just seen this coming for him. And I knew
[1:43:31] Speaker 4: Boston's going to have to do something about it because
[1:43:33] Speaker 4: it's always going to be there regardless because JB definitely
[1:43:36] Speaker 4: believes he's the best player on the team.
[1:43:38] Speaker 1: And you can't tell him nothing else. Is he? Oh, yes. Yes. Yeah. Oh, yeah.
[1:43:43] Speaker 4: I mean, I was one of the I mean, we went,
[1:43:45] Speaker 4: you know, people was ready to kill us because of,
[1:43:47] Speaker 4: you know, saying that he wasn't better than Jason Tatum.
[1:43:49] Speaker 1: I don't think he's the best person on the team. OK, well,
[1:43:52] Speaker 1: I mean, you could think keep thinking that, but that's
[1:43:54] Speaker 1: what I'm saying. Yeah.
[1:43:57] Speaker 3: And that could be the reason why they put him
[1:43:59] Speaker 3: on the trade block. Not because he's talking is because
[1:44:03] Speaker 3: you think that.
[1:44:03] Speaker 1: Way, too. You're not supposed to think you're the best player.
[1:44:08] Speaker 4: But I'm thinking that way because I know, but I'm
[1:44:10] Speaker 4: thinking that way, but I'm actually doing it too, though.
[1:44:12] Speaker 1: Like, I'm guarding the best player every night. Then I'm
[1:44:15] Speaker 1: going down here doing this. Averaging 30. Like, when everything counted.
[1:44:18] Speaker 1: For one year. I don't know. This guy was doing that.
[1:44:22] Speaker 1: What he's doing now, he did that with him. You
[1:44:24] Speaker 1: did it next to me. With him, yeah, I'm saying.
[1:44:26] Speaker 1: You did it next to me. But I've been doing that.
[1:44:27] Speaker 1: I did it without you. I did it without you.
[1:44:31] Speaker 3: I get being my favorite year, you know, first time
[1:44:33] Speaker 3: doing all that. But that thinking, thinking that way. I
[1:44:37] Speaker 3: could see them trading him for that. He had a
[1:44:40] Speaker 3: career year, finished 17th in the MVP vote.
[1:44:41] Speaker 5: Thinking I'm the best player on the team is going
[1:44:43] Speaker 5: to get you a five. They finished second in the East.
[1:44:45] Speaker 6: By the way, before Jason Tatum came back, he was
[1:44:48] Speaker 6: like second in MVP in the odds. And then Jason
[1:44:51] Speaker 6: came back.
[1:44:51] Speaker 1: I thought we were going to be trapped and we
[1:44:52] Speaker 1: were second in the East. He was never second. I
[1:44:55] Speaker 1: like that. Yeah, he was. I like that. MVP vote? Yeah,
[1:44:57] Speaker 1: before he came back. And then right after that, he tumbled.
[1:44:59] Speaker 6: Yep.
[1:45:07] Speaker 1: I like that.
[1:45:09] Speaker 3: Tell the truth. This is my favorite year. I finally
[1:45:11] Speaker 3: got the respect I want.
[1:45:13] Speaker 1: So why not trade the other guy then?
[1:45:16] Speaker 5: Why he's not on the same block?
[1:45:20] Speaker 1: They're both still on the same team. If he's the
[1:45:24] Speaker 1: best of the two, why not trade the other guy?
[1:45:26] Speaker 1: Because he's beloved by the fandom. Say that again. Say
[1:45:28] Speaker 1: it with a little bit of chest next time. Beloved. Huh?
[1:45:38] Speaker 2: They love Jalen Brown, too. Who loves Jalen Brown? Let's
[1:45:41] Speaker 2: move on to the second part of this conversation. So
[1:45:44] Speaker 2: Celtics were a finalist in the Giannis sweepstakes with a
[1:45:47] Speaker 2: package centered around Jalen Brown. So according to reports, the
[1:45:49] Speaker 2: Bucs opted to go with the Heat's offer because they
[1:45:51] Speaker 2: were concerned Jalen Brown may have not wanted to be
[1:45:54] Speaker 2: in Milwaukee.
[1:45:55] Speaker 1: See?
[1:45:56] Speaker 2: So Bucs went with that Heat offer, got the sticker
[1:45:59] Speaker 2: to the Celtics in the process. So Brad Stevens addressed
[1:46:01] Speaker 2: the situation with Jalen Brown last Tuesday night following the
[1:46:04] Speaker 2: first round of the draft.
[1:46:06] Speaker 1: Jalen Brown's a big part of us.
[1:46:07] Speaker 9: Like, you know, I'm not going to, I'm never going
[1:46:10] Speaker 9: to predict the future, but like every indication, everything that
[1:46:14] Speaker 9: I think about is with over the past few years
[1:46:17] Speaker 9: has been building around those guys.
[1:46:19] Speaker 1: Right.
[1:46:20] Speaker 9: And so obviously you never know. But at the same time,
[1:46:24] Speaker 9: I think the one thing I want to make very
[1:46:28] Speaker 9: clear is how valued he's always been. Like, and he's,
[1:46:32] Speaker 9: he's been amazing. He's been an amazing teammate, great person
[1:46:35] Speaker 9: to be around. And, you know, whether that run ends
[1:46:40] Speaker 9: 10 years from now when he retires or before, there's
[1:46:45] Speaker 9: a lot to celebrate. And, you know, we have a
[1:46:48] Speaker 9: great relationship and an open relationship where we talk about everything.
[1:46:53] Speaker 9: But I don't want to predict the future. But, you know,
[1:46:59] Speaker 9: I look at it as this is our team.
[1:47:02] Speaker 1: Yeah. I don't like when we don't know what the
[1:47:06] Speaker 1: question is. You got to say that just in case
[1:47:09] Speaker 1: you can't get him out of there. But I just
[1:47:11] Speaker 1: don't like, I don't know what the question is. The
[1:47:14] Speaker 1: answer was cool, but I don't know what the way
[1:47:16] Speaker 1: the question was.
[1:47:17] Speaker 6: Are you going to trade Jaylen?
[1:47:19] Speaker 1: But I don't know. I don't want to speculate what
[1:47:21] Speaker 1: the actual question is, right? Okay. Because you stated that
[1:47:28] Speaker 1: he said something about he spoke to Jaylen Brown, but
[1:47:30] Speaker 1: he didn't. They've said they've talked. They've talked, but you
[1:47:33] Speaker 1: said before the draft, though. You said they spoke before
[1:47:35] Speaker 1: the draft. Yeah, before the draft, they had spoke about it.
[1:47:36] Speaker 1: He could have written the same thing.
[1:47:38] Speaker 2: But before the draft, this was before the whole Giannis
[1:47:40] Speaker 2: Tracy ended up being centralized around.
[1:47:42] Speaker 1: I just want to know what the question is.
[1:47:43] Speaker 2: Jalen Brown package, and now there's other reports that the
[1:47:45] Speaker 2: Celtics are fielding other officer Jalen Brown blazers right now.
[1:47:48] Speaker 2: But he could have either said, hey, we're not trading
[1:47:52] Speaker 2: Jalen Brown.
[1:47:52] Speaker 1: He's going to be here. Exactly. That's my thing, and
[1:47:55] Speaker 1: that's why I want to know. That's why him and
[1:47:56] Speaker 1: that coach got to go. That's why I want to
[1:47:58] Speaker 1: know what the question is.
[1:48:00] Speaker 3: I mean, that was like if they can't get Jalen
[1:48:02] Speaker 3: Brown traded.
[1:48:03] Speaker 1: He felt like he was dancing tiptoe. Yeah, for real.
[1:48:05] Speaker 1: That's why I was like, if it don't get done,
[1:48:08] Speaker 1: he's still like you. If I'm Jalen Brown, I'm hot.
[1:48:13] Speaker 1: I mean, the cat's out of the bag. How hot
[1:48:16] Speaker 1: are you? I mean, I'm mad at the fact that
[1:48:18] Speaker 1: my name is in trade rumors and I'm the best player.
[1:48:20] Speaker 1: How hot are you? It was about the trade rumors. Oh,
[1:48:22] Speaker 1: how hot? How hot are you? Oh, I'm hot. Are
[1:48:25] Speaker 1: you hot enough to go in there and be like,
[1:48:26] Speaker 1: all right, since you're trying to do it, go ahead
[1:48:27] Speaker 1: and do it? Are you that hot? Yeah, might as well. Yeah,
[1:48:31] Speaker 1: I am. Because you've already done it. Yes, I would.
[1:48:34] Speaker 1: I would think.
[1:48:34] Speaker 4: I mean, at the end of the day, y'all going
[1:48:36] Speaker 4: to keep putting me second behind this dude.
[1:48:38] Speaker 3: So that could be a reason. No, that is the reason.
[1:48:42] Speaker 3: We've been saying this. He could be talking to him like,
[1:48:44] Speaker 3: you know what, man? I feel like if he bested
[1:48:47] Speaker 3: my game could grow somewhere else.
[1:48:48] Speaker 1: I could be the man. I know I can't be
[1:48:50] Speaker 1: the man here. No, that ain't the conversation they had.
[1:48:53] Speaker 5: Jalen Brown was surprised that he was thrown into the trade.
[1:48:55] Speaker 3: So you can't trade somebody off of that.
[1:48:58] Speaker 1: On what, the relationship? Yeah.
[1:49:00] Speaker 5: So if they had a good relationship, and then all
[1:49:02] Speaker 5: of a sudden Giannis pops up, and we can have
[1:49:04] Speaker 5: a potential opportunity to get Giannis.
[1:49:05] Speaker 3: And you can have your own team to be number one,
[1:49:07] Speaker 3: the number one guy there.
[1:49:08] Speaker 1: But that ain't what I want. You can't be the
[1:49:09] Speaker 1: number one guy here. Listen, I am the number one
[1:49:11] Speaker 1: guy here. It ain't going to happen. I am the
[1:49:13] Speaker 1: number one guy here. No matter if you think it
[1:49:14] Speaker 1: or not. But I am the number one guy here.
[1:49:16] Speaker 1: You're not the number one guy here. I'm the number
[1:49:18] Speaker 1: one guy here. You're not. I am. No, you're not.
[1:49:20] Speaker 1: It's never going to happen. It just shows. It's showing it.
[1:49:23] Speaker 3: So I'm going to give you the opportunity to be
[1:49:25] Speaker 3: the number one guy somewhere else.
[1:49:28] Speaker 5: No, because if we're going to get rid of a
[1:49:30] Speaker 5: number one guy, if we're going to get rid of
[1:49:32] Speaker 5: a number one guy, we need to go get a
[1:49:33] Speaker 5: number one guy, right? So if we're going to need
[1:49:37] Speaker 5: a number one guy to replace our number one guy, hey, listen, Giannis,
[1:49:40] Speaker 5: if you come here, we're going to have to get
[1:49:42] Speaker 5: rid of Jalen Brown, our number one guy.
[1:49:45] Speaker 1: Number one for number one. Number one for number one.
[1:49:48] Speaker 1: That's not the way that conversation is going. No. That's
[1:49:51] Speaker 1: why it didn't happen. Because the other number one said,
[1:49:53] Speaker 1: I'm not playing for them. Because they don't think he's
[1:49:55] Speaker 1: going to sign. I don't think he's going to want
[1:49:57] Speaker 1: to play for us. That's why it didn't happen. The
[1:49:58] Speaker 1: reports are they say they don't think he's going to
[1:49:59] Speaker 1: sign a long-term deal in Milwaukee. That's why it didn't happen.
[1:50:03] Speaker 5: You put up James Brown for Giannis Antetokounmpo, head up.
[1:50:08] Speaker 1: Yeah, that's what they were doing. That's a one for one.
[1:50:11] Speaker 1: That's a one for one.
[1:50:12] Speaker 3: I heard the Clippers could be in the top.
[1:50:15] Speaker 1: Clippers, Blazers. There's a lot of Blazers, I believe, are
[1:50:17] Speaker 1: the current frontrunner. I think he'll like L.A.
[1:50:20] Speaker 2: Southers asking for four first-round picks, potentially, from whoever does
[1:50:24] Speaker 2: want to make a move for Jalen Brown. But it's
[1:50:28] Speaker 2: just interesting to see that it's come to this.
[1:50:30] Speaker 1: But we don't even know if it's going to happen.
[1:50:31] Speaker 1: So he's still on the team. Because the one major
[1:50:35] Speaker 1: piece was gone, right? The one major piece off the
[1:50:37] Speaker 1: table now.
[1:50:38] Speaker 2: At this point, if you're Jalen Brown, you've got to
[1:50:39] Speaker 2: feel some level of respect knowing that you were mentioned
[1:50:41] Speaker 2: in a trade for Giannis, regardless of whatever the situation is.
[1:50:44] Speaker 1: But the fact that You just did what you did.
[1:50:46] Speaker 1: We were trying to get your ass up out of here.
[1:50:48] Speaker 1: My favorite season. Yeah.
[1:50:50] Speaker 3: After everything you did this season. They played a hero
[1:50:53] Speaker 3: for y'all to pick.
[1:50:55] Speaker 2: So, Brad Stevens could have just said, hey, no, he's
[1:50:58] Speaker 2: going to be a Celtic for life.
[1:50:59] Speaker 1: Yeah, and that's why I said I would. Got a hero.
[1:51:02] Speaker 1: All right. And when I walk back in there, you
[1:51:04] Speaker 1: know what time it is. Stop playing with me. I
[1:51:07] Speaker 1: know what time it is. Stop playing with me. Instead
[1:51:09] Speaker 1: of Jalen, they got a hero. Huh? Yeah, I mean,
[1:51:13] Speaker 1: because Jalen.
[1:51:14] Speaker 3: It's a great trade. Number one for number one.
[1:51:18] Speaker 1: No, that was a dump off. No, that was a
[1:51:20] Speaker 1: dump off. Oh, it's not number one for number one. No,
[1:51:24] Speaker 1: because there's no number one in the conversation. What are
[1:51:26] Speaker 1: you talking about? There's no number ones in the conversation.
[1:51:30] Speaker 1: It could have been a number one for number one.
[1:51:32] Speaker 1: So Greek, not a number one. Tyler Hero's not a
[1:51:35] Speaker 1: number one. But Giannis is. And Khalil Ware is a potential.
[1:51:45] Speaker 1: Hawkins is in picks. That ain't no equal trade.
[1:51:51] Speaker 2: The question you asked earlier, the question that Brad Stevens
[1:51:53] Speaker 2: was asked was simply, Brad, is Jalen Brown going to
[1:51:56] Speaker 2: be on the team the beginning of next season?
[1:51:58] Speaker 1: Thank you. He could have said. And he danced. And
[1:52:02] Speaker 1: it felt like he was tiptoeing around the question. So, yes,
[1:52:05] Speaker 1: he was definitely. He could have just said, yes. Yes,
[1:52:08] Speaker 1: he's going to be on the roster. And left it
[1:52:10] Speaker 1: at that, and if you trade him, you trade him, right?
[1:52:12] Speaker 1: That's just what it is, right? If something presents itself,
[1:52:14] Speaker 1: you trade him, but you just, but there was no
[1:52:17] Speaker 1: clear answer. I can't predict the future. We don't know
[1:52:20] Speaker 1: what the future holds. Jalen Brown is a good person,
[1:52:22] Speaker 1: even better, even better person to be around. You know
[1:52:26] Speaker 1: what I'm saying? Hold on one second. Hold on. What
[1:52:30] Speaker 1: just happened? Memphis Grizzlies are trading two times. NBA All-Star
[1:52:37] Speaker 1: John Morant. To Phoenix. To Portland.
[1:52:39] Speaker 2: The Portland Trailblazers for Jeremy Grant and Chris Murray. This
[1:52:42] Speaker 2: is according to Sean.
[1:52:43] Speaker 1: Wow. See, that's the same type of trade. It don't match.
[1:52:48] Speaker 1: 37 seconds to go. What you mean it don't match?
[1:52:51] Speaker 6: Portland?
[1:52:51] Speaker 5: It's like LaMelo being traded for Nas Reed.
[1:52:55] Speaker 1: For Ja Morant. They don't have to match up, man.
[1:52:59] Speaker 1: They're trying to get off of him. That's what I'm saying.
[1:53:01] Speaker 1: They don't have to match up. That's what I'm saying.
[1:53:04] Speaker 1: It's a dump off. Yeah, though. They've been trying to
[1:53:06] Speaker 1: get off the guy. Memphis is supposed to get something back.
[1:53:10] Speaker 6: No.
[1:53:11] Speaker 1: Not when you're trying to get off of him. Grant
[1:53:12] Speaker 1: is a good solid pick. No, he's a... I love him.
[1:53:15] Speaker 1: He's not dealing with somebody. Not when you're tired of
[1:53:18] Speaker 1: dealing with somebody, man. Listen. You got Jai with Denny and...
[1:53:22] Speaker 1: They about to be lit. Clinging by the clinger and
[1:53:25] Speaker 1: all them guys. They about to be lit. Scoop still there.
[1:53:27] Speaker 1: You're going to take whatever back when you're tired of
[1:53:29] Speaker 1: dealing with somebody. Portland's a good city, too. Hey, what
[1:53:31] Speaker 1: you all... They sell out a lot. Wait, we'll give
[1:53:32] Speaker 1: you Jamie Grant. All right, we'll take the shit. You
[1:53:35] Speaker 1: got Dame coming back. He was asking that right. Dame
[1:53:37] Speaker 1: coming back. They don't ask for the house. Drew Holiday, potentially.
[1:53:40] Speaker 1: Drew Holiday. Free agent? No, Drew's got one more year. Kamara.
[1:53:45] Speaker 1: They got a squad. Portland keeping us in the house.
[1:53:48] Speaker 1: It's raining. Stay inside. God damn, Drew, Danny, Scoop, that's
[1:53:56] Speaker 1: too much. Okay, as we know. I'm saying, that's too much.
[1:54:00] Speaker 1: Somebody got to go. That's too much. So, that won't
[1:54:03] Speaker 1: be the same. And it ain't Demetrius, Jamel Morant. That
[1:54:06] Speaker 1: won't be. You got Scoop, you got... Danny Ivey, who
[1:54:11] Speaker 1: we think is, prove he's coming to his own. Dame
[1:54:16] Speaker 1: coming back with something to prove. Drew Holiday steals himself.
[1:54:20] Speaker 1: The two are off the bench. Off the bench, for sure.
[1:54:23] Speaker 1: And then Jai in that fray. Demetrius. They probably moved Dame.
[1:54:29] Speaker 1: Dame ain't Dame. Nah. Nah, Dame just stay there. But
[1:54:33] Speaker 1: what about Drew Holiday? What about Drew Holiday? Just go
[1:54:36] Speaker 1: three guard front. Just go all three. Nah, you trade.
[1:54:38] Speaker 1: I mean, it's the way. You could trade Holiday and
[1:54:40] Speaker 1: get some. You need guards in the West. You can
[1:54:42] Speaker 1: trade Holiday. You and Dame, so you're going to trade both?
[1:54:44] Speaker 1: So they trade Dame and Drew? Nah, you keep Dame. Now,
[1:54:46] Speaker 1: you keep Dame. Depending on if Dame want to win
[1:54:48] Speaker 1: or not.
[1:54:48] Speaker 5: I think Dame just did a recovery year. This was
[1:54:50] Speaker 5: him to get a recovery and get his shit right
[1:54:52] Speaker 5: without no pressure.
[1:54:54] Speaker 1: Nah, I'm just finishing. You got Dame? You got any idea?
[1:54:57] Speaker 1: But Dame and Jai together. Let's. Dame, I mean, but
[1:55:01] Speaker 1: Ja's a woman pastor, though, too, though.
[1:55:02] Speaker 5: No, Ja is, but I'm just saying we never looked
[1:55:05] Speaker 5: at that combination.
[1:55:06] Speaker 1: No, no, no.
[1:55:07] Speaker 3: Dame ain't coming back being Dame, though. Dame is chilling, man.
[1:55:11] Speaker 1: Nah, Dame look good. You think Dame coming back to
[1:55:14] Speaker 1: take a backseat to Danny Ivey? Yes. You think that?
[1:55:17] Speaker 1: Hell yeah. I don't think so.
[1:55:19] Speaker 3: See, that's another thing. If he think he coming back
[1:55:22] Speaker 3: to be number one, he get rid.
[1:55:23] Speaker 1: Of his ass. Just like Jalen Brown. Jalen didn't come
[1:55:27] Speaker 1: off from an injury. You coming off an injury. That's
[1:55:30] Speaker 1: the only reason you would say that about Dan. I'm
[1:55:33] Speaker 1: going to retire here. No, I'm not saying take it back. See,
[1:55:38] Speaker 1: but I mean, we got like, this is our guy now.
[1:55:40] Speaker 1: This is our guy now. I'm not coming back. No,
[1:55:45] Speaker 1: Dame is going to do it with that Portland jersey
[1:55:47] Speaker 1: on it. It ain't somewhere else. That's fine. It's there. No,
[1:55:50] Speaker 1: that's fine. It's the house that I built. This is
[1:55:53] Speaker 1: the house I built. We renovated this motherfucker, my nigga.
[1:55:56] Speaker 1: It's the house I built.
[1:55:57] Speaker 5: We renovated. It ain't the same room no more. This
[1:56:00] Speaker 5: is the music room now.
[1:56:01] Speaker 1: I can't say that.
[1:56:02] Speaker 5: This was your bedroom. This is the music room now.
[1:56:04] Speaker 5: This is my office.
[1:56:06] Speaker 1: Airbnb. Yeah, you got Airbnb. This is my office now.
[1:56:09] Speaker 1: I mean, with Jollibee or something, I don't know how
[1:56:11] Speaker 1: that thing is. We got some more news, fellas. Nuh-uh.
[1:56:13] Speaker 1: I don't know if you guys care, but the Atlanta
[1:56:15] Speaker 1: Hawks are declining Jonathan Kaminga's $ 24. 3 million team option. Make
[1:56:20] Speaker 1: him a free agent. I thought I would see that.
[1:56:22] Speaker 1: Don't know if. I'm not surprised.
[1:56:24] Speaker 5: If it's all coming in right now. He got dumped
[1:56:25] Speaker 5: off to them. So it wasn't like they was going
[1:56:27] Speaker 5: to be.
[1:56:28] Speaker 1: I'm not surprised. Invest in him. Come on to the T-Woods.
[1:56:34] Speaker 1: I just think it's too much right now. We don't
[1:56:35] Speaker 1: know if it's high as going to Charlotte. Paying out.
[1:56:39] Speaker 2: Bradley Bill also declined his option with the Clippers. If
[1:56:42] Speaker 2: you guys are interested in that.
[1:56:43] Speaker 1: I thought Jai was going to go to Phoenix for
[1:56:44] Speaker 1: Jalen Green. But he needs some shooters. Kind of be nice.
[1:56:49] Speaker 1: Sense of that, mate. Jai to where? He need a
[1:56:51] Speaker 1: point guard. Phoenix? Yeah. Phoenix don't have a point guard.
[1:56:55] Speaker 1: Why am I going on it? They just traded for him.
[1:56:58] Speaker 1: They just traded for Jalen Green. They did. Trade him again.
[1:57:02] Speaker 1: They're not going to do that. Trade his ass again.
[1:57:05] Speaker 1: Everybody get traded all the time. They're not trading him
[1:57:07] Speaker 1: for Jai. Just keep moving. Like I said, they weren't
[1:57:10] Speaker 1: trading Jalen Green for Jai. Yeah. Yeah, I was looking
[1:57:16] Speaker 1: at Wade and Nas Reed for them. Huh? So I
[1:57:20] Speaker 1: would have gave away Nas Reid for him. Who, for Jai? Damn,
[1:57:23] Speaker 1: John A. Kamiga, he's a free agent right now. Now,
[1:57:26] Speaker 1: that don't work. And Jai together, that don't work, basketball-wise. No,
[1:57:34] Speaker 1: they're two hell of a talent. I'm not saying they
[1:57:36] Speaker 1: don't work. That don't work basketball-wise. I like Jai and
[1:57:43] Speaker 1: Ant more than I do LaMelo, Ant. That shit would
[1:57:47] Speaker 1: have been crazy. It would be entertaining. Mello's just more reckless.
[1:57:51] Speaker 1: Jive's more under control. He can shoot that. But yeah,
[1:57:57] Speaker 1: I don't know what I'm saying. Portland's going to make
[1:57:58] Speaker 1: another move, obviously, because that's too much. I like this shit.
[1:58:02] Speaker 1: At one position, two positions. I love this NBA right now.
[1:58:06] Speaker 1: NBA is cracking right now. It's a lot of trades.
[1:58:10] Speaker 1: It's work right now. It's a lot. I like this.
[1:58:13] Speaker 1: It's money, man. Tomorrow's going to be boom, boom, boom. Boom, boom, boom.
[1:58:18] Speaker 1: 6 p.m. Eastern, 3 p.m. Pacific. It's that money moving it, man.
[1:58:21] Speaker 1: Money is moving the league right now. Unfortunately ain't the
[1:58:25] Speaker 1: best ballpark. Yeah, these aprons are messing free. It's about
[1:58:30] Speaker 1: to be crazy out here. It's already starting as you
[1:58:32] Speaker 1: can see. Like dudes opting out of player options. So
[1:58:38] Speaker 1: Kamingas I believe was a team option. I'm saying certain
[1:58:41] Speaker 1: dudes opting out of player options and what You don't
[1:58:44] Speaker 1: know what's on the other side of it. With certain guys,
[1:58:46] Speaker 1: certain guys doing it, you know what's on the other
[1:58:48] Speaker 1: side of it. Certain gentlemen opting in because they want
[1:58:50] Speaker 1: their bread. Yeah, exactly. What do you got, 49? 49,
[1:58:54] Speaker 1: I need it. I need all my dip. Yeah, I'm
[1:58:56] Speaker 1: not chipping it out. Yeah, so I dig it. Mitchell
[1:58:59] Speaker 1: Robinson opted out in New York. I heard that new
[1:59:04] Speaker 1: three-year deal with the Thunder. It's a lot going on.
[1:59:08] Speaker 2: I believe you gentlemen will be here at 3 o'clock tomorrow.
[1:59:10] Speaker 1: So you said Hardenstein was doing the same thing. I
[1:59:12] Speaker 1: thought he was going to be able to move around.
[1:59:13] Speaker 1: A little bit less off the bread, but they gave him. Oh,
[1:59:16] Speaker 1: they stretched it. They stretched it. And got the 7'5 guy.
[1:59:20] Speaker 1: He just like. Know what they doing. Skip. We know
[1:59:25] Speaker 1: what your team's doing, Skip. Dork.
[1:59:27] Speaker 6: They still need to sign Lou Dork.
[1:59:28] Speaker 1: What did I do, Swaggy? Yeah, you did it. I mean,
[1:59:31] Speaker 1: I said, yeah, yeah. Y'all, you motherfuckers going to be
[1:59:34] Speaker 1: here tomorrow, right? Y'all be here tomorrow. You motherfuckers going
[1:59:37] Speaker 1: to be here tomorrow, right? Russo, shoot it better. I
[1:59:41] Speaker 1: think you don't need Lou Dork, to be honest with you.
[1:59:43] Speaker 1: I like Lou Dork as a basketball player, but you
[1:59:44] Speaker 1: got Cruz. I mean, you got three. You got a motherfucker.
[1:59:47] Speaker 1: You got right out there, Joe. So, but yeah, I
[1:59:48] Speaker 1: think they're going to win. Kip's family. Kip's going to
[1:59:52] Speaker 1: have to figure out what he's going to do.
[1:59:54] Speaker 6: He blows himself up too much.
[1:59:56] Speaker 1: That's why you got all them other guys. How are
[1:59:58] Speaker 1: you going to replace him with a good man, Joe?
[2:00:00] Speaker 1: They're going to figure it out. They got McCain on
[2:00:02] Speaker 1: the rookie deal.
[2:00:04] Speaker 6: Got Wallace on the rookie deal.
[2:00:07] Speaker 1: Wallace on the rookie deal. McCain on the rookie deal.
[2:00:10] Speaker 1: Still got players. They'll be all right. They'll be all right.
[2:00:15] Speaker 6: They won't be as good in the regular season, but
[2:00:17] Speaker 6: they'll be just as good when it matters.
[2:00:18] Speaker 1: They'll be all right. Bringing Hardenstein back was key. I
[2:00:22] Speaker 1: didn't think they was going to figure it out. They
[2:00:24] Speaker 1: got him on a lovely deal. Three-year, nine-year, two-year. They're
[2:00:30] Speaker 1: going to be all right. Free agency tomorrow, 3 p.m.
[2:00:33] Speaker 1: Get Jalen Williams. Everybody would love to have a holiday.

[2:00:44] Speaker 1: I'm a big fan. Fox, you need to relax a

[2:00:59] Speaker 2: On that note, a good place for us to wrap
[2:01:01] Speaker 2: up today. But before we do, I just want to

[2:01:07] Speaker 2: started this show February 2023, we had some super lofty
[2:01:11] Speaker 2: expectations of where we wanted to go. We're able to
[2:01:13] Speaker 2: accomplish those things, becoming the number one daily sports show
[2:01:17] Speaker 2: in the world, Swaggy, or at least in America. But
[2:01:20] Speaker 2: I want to thank all y'all on this couch, all
[2:01:21] Speaker 2: the men and women that have graced this couch, all
[2:01:23] Speaker 2: our tremendous staff, and all the amazing fans for everything
[2:01:25] Speaker 2: that you guys have done in helping this become the
[2:01:28] Speaker 2: show that it is, man.

[2:01:33] Speaker 1: My God. Appreciate you, gentlemen. My gosh. Skip, I'll send
[2:01:37] Speaker 1: you a dab. I'm over that way. Appreciate you as well.

[2:01:43] Speaker 2: everybody in the chat. This has been another episode of
[2:01:45] Speaker 2: Gil's Arena presented by Underdog. And if I don't see
[2:01:48] Speaker 2: you again on this couch, a good afternoon, good evening,
[2:01:50] Speaker 2: and good night.
