The Tip-Off Of The NBA Playoffs FIRES UP Gil's Arena as The Gil's Arena Crew react to the thrilling start of the NBA Playoffs and break down everything that went down on the court this weekend. They start things off by reacting to Anthony Edwards' & the Minnesota Timberwolves 19 point comeback over the Denver Nuggets to even up the series and break down how Rudy Gobert was able to slow down Nikola Jokic in another exciting showdown between the 2 European Superstars. They also discuss what adjustments the Nuggets need to make to get back on top of the series before reacting to Luke Kennard's career game to lift the Los Angeles Lakers over the Houston Rockets in Game 1 of their series and debate if this level of play from LeBron James and the Lakers is sustainable as the await the return of Luka Doncic. They then discuss if the Rockets should be concerned with Kevin Durant's injury as the slim reaper missed Game 1 of the series before turning their attention to Victor Wembanyama's show stopping debut in the NBA Playoffs as the San Antonio Spurs superstar broke records to make a statement in his first playoff game and waltzed to the first ever unanimous NBA Defensive Player of the Year Award. Finally, they break down the Boston Celtics beat down of the Philadelphia 76ers to open up their series and debate if the Sixers have any chance to upset Jayson Tatum & Jaylen Brown without Joel Embiid before giving their takes on what could be the final game of the Golden State Warriors dynasty as Steve Kerr, Steph Curry and Draymond Green might have shared the court together for the final time. [0:03] Speaker 1: Welcome back to Gil's Arena presented by Underdog. Whoa, whoa. Whoa, whoa.
[0:07] Speaker 2: Chalice, that's 17 stacked, though. That's 17, like, if it's, like,
[0:13] Speaker 2: stacked to the brim and you ain't gonna get no difference, right?
[0:18] Speaker 3: Yeah, but a lot of teams, like, there's a lot
[0:20] Speaker 3: of AAU teams, so if I'm 15, I'm playing varsity, bro.
[0:24] Speaker 3: I'm definitely making a 17 to another team.
[0:27] Speaker 1: Somewhere. I'm not playing my own age. AAU discussion here
[0:32] Speaker 1: in the arena. Talking about young players staying in the
[0:36] Speaker 1: division or playing up 17 and under. Getting a good bump, bud. Yeah,
[0:40] Speaker 1: we was in Oakland. Oakland, no joke. Who that?
[0:46] Speaker 4: The Cavs, we went to Oakland this weekend. It was
[0:48] Speaker 4: a fight first game. Dolly kids fought out there. It
[0:52] Speaker 4: was kosher shock, boy.
[0:54] Speaker 1: Kosher shock. Don't you see anything? Shout out to the town,
[1:01] Speaker 1: but this is Gil's Arena presented by Underdog. I'm merely
[1:04] Speaker 1: your host, Josiah Johnson. We're joined by NBA champion of
[1:06] Speaker 1: the world, Swaggy P, Nick Young. Representing a tough crowd
[1:13] Speaker 1: and a card-carrying country club member, we got Mr. B,
[1:15] Speaker 1: Brandon Jennings. On this side of the couch, we got
[1:20] Speaker 1: the distinguished gentleman from Oak Cliff, former number one pick,
[1:22] Speaker 1: Canyon Martin. Right here with.
[1:26] Speaker 2: Us.
[1:29] Speaker 1: Got to wait for the music. And last but not least,
[1:31] Speaker 1: the man they call Cemetery Larry, NCAA Champion of the World, Dr.
[1:34] Speaker 1: Rashad McCants, Ph.D., Shadi Kruger. It's a nightmare in the arena.
[1:42] Speaker 1: That was easy.
[1:45] Speaker 5: Some people's worst nightmare, some people.
[1:50] Speaker 1: We got a lot to get into. There was a
[1:51] Speaker 1: lot of playoff basketball this weekend, Monday. So here's what's
[1:54] Speaker 1: cracking in Gil's arena today. The Wolves overcame a 19-point
[1:59] Speaker 1: deficit to stun the Nuggets in Game 2 to even
[2:02] Speaker 1: the series. What did Minnesota expose about the Denver defense?
[2:07] Speaker 1: Jaden McDaniels has some thoughts we will discuss. The Jays
[2:10] Speaker 1: led the Southerners to a blowout win over the Sixers
[2:12] Speaker 1: in Game 1. Does the East run through Boston? Pistons
[2:17] Speaker 1: tricked off Game 1. Southerners looking mighty, mighty good out there.
[2:21] Speaker 1: They might be headed back to the Finals. And LeBron
[2:24] Speaker 1: and Luke Kennard put the Lakers on their back to
[2:26] Speaker 1: win game one over the Rockets. But can the Purple
[2:29] Speaker 1: and Gold sustain this level of play for the rest
[2:32] Speaker 1: of the series? Before we get into all that, as always,
[2:34] Speaker 1: this show is brought to you by Underdog. Underdog's available

[3:18] Speaker 1: Eastern Time. Come have some fun with the guys and
[3:20] Speaker 1: watch along. As the Rockets try to even the series
[3:23] Speaker 1: up in L.A. As the Rockets try to unsuccessfully even
[3:26] Speaker 1: the series up in L.A. KD playing?
[3:31] Speaker 6: I hope so.
[3:31] Speaker 1: We're going to talk about it. But you can't watch
[3:33] Speaker 1: the show live with us on YouTube. We have audio
[3:35] Speaker 1: versions available on Apple, Spotify, wherever you get your podcast.
[3:38] Speaker 1: We've got to talk about another game first. Nuggets bounce
[3:41] Speaker 1: back from a 10-point first quarter deficit to take down
[3:44] Speaker 1: the Wolves in Game 1 of their first-round series. Paced
[3:47] Speaker 1: by Jokic's 22nd career playoff triple-double, in Jamal Murray's 30-piece
[3:51] Speaker 1: on seven of 22 shooting, which included him going a
[3:54] Speaker 1: perfect 16 for 16 from the line. The Wolves shot
[3:58] Speaker 1: 19 total free throws while the Nuggets got to the
[4:00] Speaker 1: charity stripe 33 times in the win. So after that game,
[4:03] Speaker 1: Wolves head coach Chris Finch was vocal about his issues
[4:06] Speaker 1: with the officiating, calling Murray's 16 free throws a head
[4:09] Speaker 1: scratcher and later saying maybe his team ought to start
[4:12] Speaker 1: flopping too. The whistle tightened up in game two, but
[4:15] Speaker 1: early on the Wolves looked like they were headed for
[4:17] Speaker 1: another loss Denver came out on fire in the first quarter,
[4:20] Speaker 1: going on the 17-0 run to build a 14-point lead
[4:23] Speaker 1: after the first frame. The Wolves turned it up offensively
[4:26] Speaker 1: in the second frame to take a lead, so we
[4:28] Speaker 1: pick up the action late in the second quarter. If
[4:32] Speaker 1: we can, please. Time running out. Jamal Murray put an
[4:34] Speaker 1: exclamation point on the first half, hitting a half-quarter at
[4:37] Speaker 1: the buzzer to tie the game at 64. Murray had
[4:39] Speaker 1: 23 points in the first half. He was 5-7 from deep.
[4:41] Speaker 1: Finished the game with a team-high 30 points on 11th
[4:44] Speaker 1: for 25 shooting, along with seven rebounds and seven assists.
[4:47] Speaker 1: Jokic only has six points in the first half, but
[4:49] Speaker 1: got to work in the third quarter, scoring 16 to
[4:51] Speaker 1: help give the Nuggets a three-point lead heading into the
[4:55] Speaker 1: final frame, doing things like that. A lot of that,
[4:58] Speaker 1: you may notice, with Rudy Gobert not on the court.
[5:02] Speaker 1: A little foreshadowing, if I can. The nice hook right there,
[5:08] Speaker 1: and Gobert not.
[5:09] Speaker 2: On the court.
[5:10] Speaker 1: So, Joker finished 24 points, 15 rebounds, eight dimes. Wolves
[5:14] Speaker 1: stay within striking distance. in the fourth quarter. And on
[5:20] Speaker 1: this play right here, Jada McDaniels dunked with under five
[5:23] Speaker 1: minutes remaining and gave them the lead. But with the
[5:26] Speaker 1: Wolves up two with a little over two minutes left
[5:28] Speaker 1: to go. And missed a fadeaway, but Rudy Gobert got
[5:30] Speaker 1: the rebound, dunked on Jokic's head, put Minnesota up four.
[5:35] Speaker 1: Then with the Wolves up one, Dante DiVincenzo hit a
[5:36] Speaker 1: big three with about a minute remaining to put them
[5:38] Speaker 1: back up four. Jokic returned the favor to Gobert, going
[5:43] Speaker 1: poster for poster. Then Ant-Man traveled with a little over
[5:48] Speaker 1: 30 seconds remaining. Gave it up two. Jokic had the
[5:51] Speaker 1: chance to shoot the floater, but passed to Christian Brown.
[5:54] Speaker 1: Fouled on the play. Brown missed the first free throw.
[5:58] Speaker 1: Knocked down the second. And with the Nuggets down three
[6:02] Speaker 1: in their final possession. Jamal Murray opted not to shoot
[6:05] Speaker 1: a three. Took a 20-footer. Missed. White Dante got the rebound.
[6:08] Speaker 1: Kicked it ahead to Julius Randle. Got the ball back.
[6:11] Speaker 1: The emphatic dunk to seal the win. Ant-Man finished with
[6:14] Speaker 1: 30 points and 10 rebounds on 10 of 25 shooting.
[6:17] Speaker 1: Julius Randle had 24-9 boards and six assists. Dante DiVincenzo
[6:21] Speaker 1: had 16 going four for seven from deep. Bones Highland,
[6:24] Speaker 1: 13 points in 10 minutes of action against his former team.
[6:27] Speaker 1: He was three for four from three. Jokic and Jamal
[6:29] Speaker 1: Murray had four total points in the fourth quarter. You
[6:32] Speaker 1: heard that right. Four total points combined. They were two
[6:35] Speaker 1: for 12 in that fourth quarter. The Wolves' 19-point comeback,
[6:39] Speaker 1: second largest in franchise history since 1998, the largest this season. Swaggy,
[6:44] Speaker 1: we're going to start with you. What are the biggest takeaways?
[6:46] Speaker 1: From the Wolves, game two win over the Nuggets. Ant-Man.
[6:54] Speaker 4: Really, for me, looking at his game, not to say
[6:57] Speaker 4: everybody was balling, but just pointing out Ant-Man's game, he
[7:05] Speaker 4: could do it all. I think, for me, he's the
[7:09] Speaker 4: best all-around player in the NBA. That's what the greatness
[7:13] Speaker 4: look like. Athletic, could shoot. Got a high motor, play
[7:18] Speaker 4: both ends on the, both ends. Don't back down toughness.
[7:25] Speaker 4: If you was looking for like a star, he embodies that.
[7:30] Speaker 4: But I just like the way Devin Dutton just stepped up. Daniels, Gobert,
[7:36] Speaker 4: even when, even though I think that was his only
[7:39] Speaker 4: two points in the game.
[7:40] Speaker 1: His only two points in the game was that dunk
[7:41] Speaker 1: on Yogi's.
[7:42] Speaker 4: His two points in the game, you know. And Minnesota
[7:46] Speaker 4: always give Denver a tough battle because they got bigs
[7:53] Speaker 4: they can throw at Joker for sure.
[7:57] Speaker 1: Let's move on to you Mr. B and man obviously
[7:59] Speaker 1: dealing with runner's knee was limited towards the end of
[8:01] Speaker 1: the season looked a little labored in game one said
[8:04] Speaker 1: he was fatigued said he was fine after this game
[8:05] Speaker 1: but let's move on to you Mr. B what are
[8:06] Speaker 1: your biggest takeaways from the Wolves getting big game two
[8:10] Speaker 1: win in Denver to even the series.
[8:11] Speaker 3: Up um I gotta go with the T-Wolves defense in
[8:14] Speaker 3: the fourth quarter Rudy um The fact that Jamal Murray
[8:19] Speaker 3: and Jokic was two for 12 in the fourth quarter.
[8:23] Speaker 3: When Rudy was guarding Jokic, he was one for eight.
[8:27] Speaker 3: So that, you know, you got to tap their head
[8:28] Speaker 3: off to Rudy and their defense. But also, the Wolves,
[8:32] Speaker 3: they had six guys in double figures in scoring. Also,
[8:36] Speaker 3: Dante was a plus 20, which was crazy. And they
[8:39] Speaker 3: just wanted it more.
[8:41] Speaker 6: That's a good road win.
[8:42] Speaker 3: This is a team that they saw last year to
[8:45] Speaker 3: Last year.
[8:46] Speaker 6: Or a couple years or whatever. In 2024. Yeah, they
[8:49] Speaker 6: beat them.
[8:50] Speaker 1: So, you know, they feel like they got their number.
[8:53] Speaker 3: Jokic put an old boy in the bad spot towards
[8:56] Speaker 3: the end of the game, which that is a shot
[8:58] Speaker 3: that he usually makes and takes. Because if that was
[9:01] Speaker 3: LeBron or somebody else like that, we would be killing him. So,
[9:05] Speaker 3: you know, that game I got to put on Jokic.
[9:08] Speaker 1: Like you mentioned, Wolves' 19-point comeback, their biggest since overcoming
[9:11] Speaker 1: a 20-point deficit, I believe, in Game 7 of that
[9:12] Speaker 1: 2024 series. D'Vincenzo, four threes in the game, hit that
[9:17] Speaker 1: big three, put him up four. Ant-Man said that Dante
[9:20] Speaker 1: has gorilla nuts after the game. That's 20. He said
[9:23] Speaker 1: he has gorilla nuts. That's what he said after the game.
[9:27] Speaker 1: Let's shift over to this side of the couch. And
[9:29] Speaker 1: your biggest takeaways from the Wolves getting that game to
[9:31] Speaker 1: win over the Nuggets in Denver?
[9:34] Speaker 2: I just kept grinding, man. I honestly thought Denver was
[9:39] Speaker 2: going to put them away.
[9:41] Speaker 1: Right.
[9:41] Speaker 2: Got up big in the first. The way it was going,
[9:43] Speaker 2: I thought they were going to put them away, score
[9:45] Speaker 2: 39 in the first quarter.
[9:48] Speaker 1: I'm at home.
[9:49] Speaker 2: You can't give up 40 on the road. Not to
[9:52] Speaker 2: this team, not in this building. um no but they
[9:56] Speaker 2: scratched and clawed and like i understand like certain rest
[10:02] Speaker 2: happens during the regular season um so he was coaching
[10:06] Speaker 2: early that allowed um minnesota to get back in the
[10:11] Speaker 2: game in the second quarter i think he left nicole
[10:13] Speaker 2: out too long um They got on the run, and
[10:20] Speaker 2: it was tough to get it back. Minnesota gained their
[10:22] Speaker 2: confidence by the end. Late game situations. Yeah, I know, man,
[10:26] Speaker 2: I'd be on Rudy's ass, man, but he played good.
[10:31] Speaker 2: I was on him. I'd be on his ass about
[10:33] Speaker 2: his defense, and trust me, but he showed up in
[10:36] Speaker 2: the clutch minutes. I'm saying when his team needed him.
[10:40] Speaker 2: Made some hell of a defensive stops, man, on Nikola.
[10:42] Speaker 2: Made it tough on him. Made Nikola do things he
[10:44] Speaker 2: wasn't comfortable with doing. throwing different looks at him. He
[10:49] Speaker 2: had a bad turnover late. The pass to Christian Brown
[10:53] Speaker 2: put him in a bad spot. But yeah, you got
[10:57] Speaker 2: to give teams a certain look. If you don't notice
[11:00] Speaker 2: what they were doing as a coaching staff, as far
[11:06] Speaker 2: as how Minnesota was attacking them, that's why I asked
[11:08] Speaker 2: before the show, are teams afraid to go zone? I
[11:12] Speaker 2: think Denver was... primed to go zone a few possessions
[11:15] Speaker 2: in the fourth quarter offense because they couldn't get no stops.
[11:18] Speaker 2: Minnesota scored, what, 10 straight possessions at one point?
[11:21] Speaker 1: Yeah.
[11:23] Speaker 2: Can't let a team score 10 straight possessions and you
[11:26] Speaker 2: don't switch anything up defensively. That's recipe for losing, as
[11:30] Speaker 2: you can see. But, no, shout out to Minnesota, man,
[11:33] Speaker 2: for going on the road and the old cliche saying,
[11:38] Speaker 2: series doesn't start until somebody wins on the road. Yeah.
[11:43] Speaker 2: So we have a series, right? We have a series.
[11:45] Speaker 2: And the last few years, Minnesota has proven to you guys'
[11:49] Speaker 2: point that they play Denver well. They're not afraid of them.
[11:53] Speaker 2: No matter what Nicola has done in his individual approach
[11:57] Speaker 2: and Jamal Murray, Minnesota's not afraid of them. So it
[12:02] Speaker 2: should be a good series. Let's move on to you, Dr.
[12:06] Speaker 2: McCann's Ph.D. Looks like you're about to get surgical.
[12:09] Speaker 1: Oh, yeah. Okay.
[12:10] Speaker 7: No, I'm proud.
[12:11] Speaker 5: It's a proud moment because I know it took a
[12:13] Speaker 5: lot for you to do that.
[12:15] Speaker 1: No, it didn't take a lot. It didn't take a lot.
[12:17] Speaker 2: You know, I'm honest.
[12:18] Speaker 1: It took a little bit. I'm honest.
[12:19] Speaker 2: It took a little bit, though.
[12:20] Speaker 1: No, no, no. He played well.
[12:23] Speaker 2: He did. Yeah, yeah. But at times, when they went,
[12:27] Speaker 2: so him being in foul trouble benefited them in the
[12:30] Speaker 2: third quarter because they went small, right?
[12:32] Speaker 1: Mm-hmm.
[12:32] Speaker 2: It went small, the spread of the mound. I just
[12:34] Speaker 2: don't know how to guard them. Yeah, but they spread
[12:38] Speaker 2: the floor, and it benefited. But to your point, no,
[12:40] Speaker 2: it didn't take much for me to– No, I'm going
[12:42] Speaker 2: to make a show. I recognize what's up. Because we
[12:44] Speaker 2: know we.
[12:44] Speaker 1: Go at it. We go at it. No, no.
[12:46] Speaker 5: I don't think he's– Trust me, don't get me wrong.
[12:48] Speaker 2: I don't think he's four-time defensive player.
[12:50] Speaker 1: I got you. No, no, don't get– But he played
[12:52] Speaker 1: some defense. He did last– listen.
[12:54] Speaker 2: Played some defense.
[12:55] Speaker 1: He took it personal. Yes, he did.
[12:56] Speaker 2: He was upset at the fouls he got. So, absolutely. But, yeah, no,
[12:59] Speaker 2: it didn't take.
[13:00] Speaker 1: A lot, though. My bad.
[13:01] Speaker 2: I'll go into.
[13:04] Speaker 5: My assessment as far as scouting report-wise of what occurred
[13:08] Speaker 5: after game one. All those fouls for Jamal Murray. How
[13:11] Speaker 5: are we going to approach game two and change the
[13:14] Speaker 5: dynamic of how we are going to engage them in
[13:19] Speaker 5: their offensive sets? I remember we talked about certain teams
[13:23] Speaker 5: playing against Denver. I was talking about the Spurs and
[13:25] Speaker 5: how they would play giving up both Browns shooting corner shots,
[13:31] Speaker 5: giving up Aaron.
[13:32] Speaker 2: Gordon, being able to shoot those shots.
[13:34] Speaker 5: I think this game changed a lot because they played
[13:37] Speaker 5: without fouling. And if I'm a coach, I'm actually going
[13:39] Speaker 5: into this game saying, listen, we've got to be more
[13:42] Speaker 5: into Joker. We've got to play without fouling on the guards.
[13:45] Speaker 5: And when we do switch on Jamal Murray in that
[13:48] Speaker 5: late pick and roll, we've got to switch to make
[13:50] Speaker 5: him actually drop to the cup all the way and
[13:53] Speaker 5: not settle for his step back.
[13:54] Speaker 7: And I think they did that. And I think also J.
[13:56] Speaker 5: McDaniel did a great job of getting in front of
[13:58] Speaker 5: that screen or getting around that screen off of the snake,
[14:01] Speaker 5: making sure that he stays attached into the pick and rolls.
[14:05] Speaker 5: I feel like they made their adjustments when you talk
[14:08] Speaker 5: about rotations, complete rotations down to Aaron Gordon and that Ducker,
[14:13] Speaker 5: and they rebounded. I mean, at the end of the day,
[14:16] Speaker 5: you want to be able to rebound and give yourself
[14:19] Speaker 5: a second chance at scoring on a run. Being down 19...
[14:24] Speaker 5: You look at how we get these stops and how we.
[14:28] Speaker 5: When you're down 19, one thing you do as a
[14:30] Speaker 5: team is you don't get down on yourself because you
[14:33] Speaker 5: know it's a game of runs. And when it's a
[14:35] Speaker 5: game of runs, it's one stop at a time. And
[14:38] Speaker 5: every stop is how do we capitalize on the other end?
[14:42] Speaker 5: What are we doing to execute our offense? J. McDaniels
[14:45] Speaker 5: gave us the blueprint. He said, listen, we're going to
[14:47] Speaker 5: attack them. We're going to attack Joker. We're going to
[14:49] Speaker 5: attack Murray. We're going to attack Cam Johnson. We're going
[14:51] Speaker 5: to attack Aaron Gordon. We're going to make sure they
[14:54] Speaker 5: play defense on the other end. And for me, it
[14:57] Speaker 5: looked like they kind of gassed out knowing that they
[14:59] Speaker 5: were going to be attacked. And Minnesota played a perfect
[15:03] Speaker 5: game when it comes down to being down 19, exactly
[15:06] Speaker 5: how you should attack them and make them play on
[15:09] Speaker 5: their heels. And at the end of the game, you
[15:12] Speaker 5: could say Joker made a mistake, but I think coming
[15:14] Speaker 5: down 19, you know, You giving up the game early.
[15:18] Speaker 5: The game was lost before Joker made that play.
[15:20] Speaker 1: Oh, yeah. For sure.
[15:22] Speaker 2: He just put the teammate in.
[15:23] Speaker 1: The bad spot.
[15:24] Speaker 2: And they jumped Jamal Murray late on the pick and roll.
[15:27] Speaker 2: He had the bad turnover, too.
[15:28] Speaker 5: And I was saying they should have been doing that. Yeah,
[15:30] Speaker 5: they jumped him late and wanted to pick him. And
[15:32] Speaker 5: Brown still got to fucking shoot. He got to make
[15:34] Speaker 5: them free throws. Regardless, put him in the bad spot
[15:36] Speaker 5: or not, you got to hit that shit. So, kudos
[15:40] Speaker 5: to Minnesota. Still in one on the road, like you said.
[15:43] Speaker 5: The series don't start until you win on the road
[15:45] Speaker 5: and I think that gives them a boost of confidence.
[15:48] Speaker 5: You still got to deal with Joker coming in and
[15:50] Speaker 5: doing what he's doing best. But Rudy is feeling kudos.
[15:53] Speaker 5: He's feeling himself right now as far as showing that
[15:57] Speaker 5: defensive intensity.
[15:58] Speaker 1: So Joker said he probably should have took the floater
[16:01] Speaker 1: instead of passing to Christian Brown. He kind of regretted
[16:02] Speaker 1: making that play. But let's talk a little bit more
[16:04] Speaker 1: about Rudy. Fourth time defensive player of the year. Also
[16:07] Speaker 1: been prone to being played off the court in the postseason.
[16:10] Speaker 1: So came up big in the fourth quarter of game two,
[16:12] Speaker 1: shutting down the three-time MVP in Jokic. So Ant-Man had
[16:15] Speaker 1: high praise for the Wolves' defensive anchor.
[16:18] Speaker 8: He's a four-time defensive player of the year for a reason.
[16:21] Speaker 8: He's been doing it at a high level for a
[16:22] Speaker 8: long time, and we need him on the floor. That's
[16:24] Speaker 8: why I challenged him at the end of the third. Because,
[16:27] Speaker 8: I mean, Jokic is maybe four-time MVP, three-time.
[16:30] Speaker 1: What is he?
[16:31] Speaker 8: He got three MVPs, but Jokic got four defensive players.
[16:34] Speaker 8: I mean, Rudy got four defensive players of the year
[16:35] Speaker 8: for a reason, man.
[16:36] Speaker 2: Like, he can guard.
[16:37] Speaker 8: So I think people got to start respecting him. You know,
[16:40] Speaker 8: put some respect on his name. And that's what we do, man.
[16:43] Speaker 8: We trust him. I told him, like, bro, we ain't
[16:45] Speaker 8: bringing no double team. You're going to go out on
[16:47] Speaker 8: one-on-one all night and stop filing. Like, stop going for
[16:50] Speaker 8: the reach-in and, you know, because he's going to flop
[16:52] Speaker 8: and they're going to call a foul. So just play
[16:54] Speaker 8: him straight up. If you make a shot over you, cool.
[16:56] Speaker 8: That's what he do. He pays to make those shots.
[16:58] Speaker 1: So let's go, Rudy. Let's go. Let's go, Rudy. Let's go. Jokic,
[17:03] Speaker 1: one for eight with four points when Gobert was on
[17:06] Speaker 1: the floor. Seven for 12 with 20 points when Gobert
[17:10] Speaker 1: was off the floor. So, Mr. B, we'll start with you.
[17:12] Speaker 1: What did Rudy Gobert show you defensively in game two?
[17:16] Speaker 1: That he can take on a challenge. I mean, he
[17:18] Speaker 1: is a four-time defensive player of the year. But this
[17:22] Speaker 1: is still a long series. So, let's not act like,
[17:25] Speaker 1: you know, Jokic. You know, he didn't have a triple-double
[17:29] Speaker 1: last game. In the first game, he did have a triple-double. So,
[17:32] Speaker 1: he still has a lot of work to do. But, yes,
[17:36] Speaker 1: he did play very well in the fourth quarter. But,
[17:40] Speaker 1: you know, game three, game four, we know Jokic is
[17:43] Speaker 1: still coming. So we'll see.
[17:47] Speaker 6: The challenge is up for him.
[17:50] Speaker 1: Swaggy, way to go, Bear. Show you on the defensive
[17:51] Speaker 1: side in that game. Appeared to really step up, embrace
[17:54] Speaker 1: the challenge of shutting down Jokic, especially in that fourth quarter.
[17:57] Speaker 1: Like B said, he stepped up to the challenge.
[18:00] Speaker 4: And he stayed disciplined to not reach in and flop.
[18:04] Speaker 4: You know, going for getting fouled, getting into foul trouble.
[18:07] Speaker 4: You just stay disciplined and play it hard. Go make
[18:11] Speaker 4: the shot. Go make a shot. Joker is one of
[18:13] Speaker 4: the best at making shots. One thing you can't do
[18:16] Speaker 4: is put your head down and get less motivated because
[18:19] Speaker 4: you ain't going to.
[18:21] Speaker 1: Stop Joker from scoring.
[18:24] Speaker 4: But as long as you stop Joker from doing the
[18:25] Speaker 4: other things, I feel like, and just staying aggressive, being
[18:29] Speaker 4: physical with him, you can slowly break him down towards
[18:32] Speaker 4: four quarters.
[18:33] Speaker 6: You better listen to Ant-Man.
[18:34] Speaker 2: Yeah.
[18:36] Speaker 1: Appreciate Ant-Man's advice to him. We're not sending him a double. Right.
[18:40] Speaker 2: No, that gives, listen, if nothing else, it gave Rudy confidence, right? Man.
[18:46] Speaker 2: And it helps the team when you don't have to,
[18:49] Speaker 2: Ant's point, you don't have to double, you don't have
[18:51] Speaker 2: to dig, right? When you can play him straight up,
[18:54] Speaker 2: whether you make it or you miss it, right? Man.
[18:56] Speaker 2: As long as you're making each possession tough, so we
[19:00] Speaker 2: ain't got to overhelp and now he's getting 15 assists.
[19:04] Speaker 2: That's what Ant mean. We can stay one-on-one. We all
[19:07] Speaker 2: are hell of a perimeter defenders. We can stay one-on-one.
[19:11] Speaker 2: Now stay with our man. We need you to do
[19:13] Speaker 2: the same. So that's the message. So now, shout out
[19:15] Speaker 2: to Ant, man, for having the confidence in this guy,
[19:18] Speaker 2: for expressing it to him, letting him know, like, hey,
[19:23] Speaker 2: we know you can guard him, man. Go out and
[19:24] Speaker 2: do it. And stay your ass down on him.
[19:26] Speaker 1: Stop breaching.
[19:27] Speaker 2: Told him all the right things to do. So it's
[19:29] Speaker 2: just going out and doing it. But we all know
[19:33] Speaker 2: that he's going to get 50, 60 touches in the game, right?
[19:38] Speaker 2: Make as tough as possible as you can, man. Just
[19:42] Speaker 2: eliminate it because you're going to get a foul or
[19:45] Speaker 2: two because he's so aggressive, right? So eliminate the the
[19:48] Speaker 2: mental files that you the reaching when you know you
[19:51] Speaker 2: can't get it over the backs to be like you
[19:53] Speaker 2: can't afford those if you're rudy right the dumb files
[19:56] Speaker 2: out on the perimeter and the pick and roll yeah
[19:59] Speaker 2: god trying you jump out there trying to steal a
[20:00] Speaker 2: ball on the perimeter you got to say that one
[20:03] Speaker 2: right because you're going to need it yeah right yeah
[20:05] Speaker 2: so no shut out yeah.
[20:09] Speaker 7: I've been saying it, you know, wee-wee, French toast. Man,
[20:16] Speaker 7: French fries the whole nine.
[20:17] Speaker 5: We go out there, we play hard, play smart, and
[20:21] Speaker 5: I think Ant showed that they play together because that
[20:23] Speaker 5: kind of leadership, it does, like you said, it gives
[20:25] Speaker 5: you confidence as a defender when you got other guys
[20:29] Speaker 5: depending on your defense. And that's what I always loved
[20:34] Speaker 5: about the defensive end is when you got camaraderie of
[20:37] Speaker 5: people believing that you can do what you do best,
[20:40] Speaker 5: And you know that. So for him to play man
[20:42] Speaker 5: up against Rudy in the post, right, I mean against
[20:45] Speaker 5: Joker in the post, you're looking at God saying, listen, man,
[20:48] Speaker 5: we're not coming down there to help you, but we're
[20:51] Speaker 5: going to dig. We're going to dig on the second dribble.
[20:54] Speaker 5: We're going to do what we need to do to
[20:55] Speaker 5: distract him, but you're on your own. I believe that
[20:59] Speaker 5: when you do play one-on-one defense on the post and
[21:01] Speaker 5: you don't foul and you seven-foot something, all you got
[21:05] Speaker 5: to do is slide your feet, keep your hands up,
[21:08] Speaker 5: make him shoot over top of you. Now, you got
[21:10] Speaker 5: to be an exceptional fucking offensive player to score on
[21:13] Speaker 5: Rudy Gobert possession after possession and not get no pushback.
[21:19] Speaker 5: And I think that's the percentages. Now you play your
[21:21] Speaker 5: percentages as a defensive player. Can he can he score 60,
[21:26] Speaker 5: 70 percent of the time on me when I'm playing
[21:28] Speaker 5: solid defense? He can score about 40 percent. But we're
[21:32] Speaker 5: going to take the 40 over the 70. And we're
[21:36] Speaker 5: going to live with that as a coach and as
[21:37] Speaker 5: a team. And that man is telling him, like, look, man,
[21:41] Speaker 5: you play defense like this with us.
[21:42] Speaker 1: We living with this.
[21:43] Speaker 5: If he give us 24, 15 and we can win
[21:47] Speaker 5: the game, we solid. We can't have him 35, 19
[21:49] Speaker 5: and 19. That's not going to help us. So I
[21:54] Speaker 5: really appreciate Rudy taking the challenge. I appreciate Ant-Man showing
[21:59] Speaker 5: the leadership that they got his back.
[22:01] Speaker 1: It's a good way to safety.
[22:03] Speaker 2: And another thing, I don't think Rudy knows how to
[22:06] Speaker 2: play post-defense, like properly.
[22:08] Speaker 1: Yeah.
[22:09] Speaker 2: I he's just seven two.
[22:11] Speaker 1: He's just there.
[22:11] Speaker 2: He's there long arms.
[22:13] Speaker 1: Yeah, and he moves.
[22:14] Speaker 2: Well, he moves but I don't think he understands like
[22:17] Speaker 2: the technical body.
[22:18] Speaker 5: Yeah the body how to how to engage in the
[22:21] Speaker 5: body and shit.
[22:22] Speaker 2: You know, it's all these things. No, trust me.
[22:23] Speaker 1: Hey, you can see play it.
[22:24] Speaker 2: Listen, he take every bump with his chest Nicola bump
[22:27] Speaker 2: bagging him down. He take every bump with his chest
[22:29] Speaker 2: when you don't have to you don't have to give
[22:31] Speaker 2: ground It's just certain things in the post where you're
[22:34] Speaker 2: allowed to do defensively that I see game in, game out,
[22:39] Speaker 2: game in, game out from bigs, wings, guards. Nobody understands
[22:45] Speaker 2: how to play post D. It's very few guys that
[22:47] Speaker 2: understand all the tools you have at your disposal in
[22:50] Speaker 2: the post.
[22:51] Speaker 3: Right?
[22:52] Speaker 1: But think about it.
[22:53] Speaker 4: How many times have you seen somebody throw it in
[22:55] Speaker 4: the post?
[22:55] Speaker 1: They throw it to him all the time. To Joker?
[22:57] Speaker 2: Yes.
[22:57] Speaker 1: Yes.
[22:58] Speaker 2: What's up in the NBA?
[23:00] Speaker 4: I know they're going to throw it to Joker, but
[23:02] Speaker 4: Joker brings it up too. Most bigs now bring it up.
[23:05] Speaker 2: And they're posting guys. There are post-ups in every single
[23:08] Speaker 2: NBA game.
[23:10] Speaker 5: It's who can actually post up.
[23:14] Speaker 1: Who's good.
[23:16] Speaker 5: Who can post up?
[23:19] Speaker 1: Maybe three.
[23:20] Speaker 2: There are very few teams that run plays for actual post-ups, yes.
[23:25] Speaker 5: But the teams that do post guys.
[23:28] Speaker 2: And young, they don't know how to play post. Somebody
[23:32] Speaker 2: yesterday asked for a charge. Which game was it? Backing
[23:35] Speaker 2: him down, he just took the shit with his chest.
[23:38] Speaker 1: Was it the Atlanta game? Atlanta.
[23:39] Speaker 2: Yeah.
[23:39] Speaker 1: Was it Kaminga?
[23:40] Speaker 2: Yeah, it was Kaminga.
[23:41] Speaker 1: I remember.
[23:42] Speaker 2: Backing him down. He just took the shit with his chest.
[23:43] Speaker 5: Against Carl Anthony Towns. Like, no, dude. Stay solid. Stay solid.
[23:49] Speaker 2: Stay solid.
[23:49] Speaker 5: You just back him down. You took it with your
[23:50] Speaker 5: chest and tried to flop.
[23:51] Speaker 1: And look for a charge.
[23:52] Speaker 2: Like, no, dude.
[23:53] Speaker 1: That's not. No.
[23:55] Speaker 2: So it's still like that. I'm watching during the game.
[23:57] Speaker 1: I'm like.
[23:57] Speaker 5: And that's Cat going back to the post against a small,
[24:00] Speaker 5: knowing I can do this.
[24:02] Speaker 2: He don't know how to guard this down here. Yeah,
[24:04] Speaker 2: as soon as he catch it, like doing your work early.
[24:06] Speaker 2: They doing their work early, but they don't know how
[24:07] Speaker 2: to defend him once he catch it.
[24:09] Speaker 5: Not teaching it either, because like he just said, there's
[24:11] Speaker 5: not a lot of guys playing in the post anyway.
[24:14] Speaker 2: So it's like.
[24:15] Speaker 4: They're not teaching how to throw a post pass.
[24:19] Speaker 2: Fake up, fake up, throw down.
[24:21] Speaker 1: There's only one or two people. Yeah, but like I said, if.
[24:24] Speaker 2: He wasn't 7'2, and good, like he got good instincts, but...
[24:27] Speaker 2: he'll be a lot worse off if he wasn't 7'2.
[24:30] Speaker 2: But if he learned, if he really learned how to
[24:34] Speaker 2: play post-D against Nicole, he'll do a lot. He did
[24:36] Speaker 2: great last night. Because you can take away a lot
[24:39] Speaker 2: of stuff from him with the size.
[24:41] Speaker 1: Absolutely.
[24:41] Speaker 5: And I wish that that was more for Nas Reed
[24:44] Speaker 5: because I feel Nas is more athletic. He has a
[24:47] Speaker 5: lot more upside defensively when you're talking about moving than
[24:51] Speaker 5: Rudy do, but he don't know how to contest late.
[24:54] Speaker 7: He don't know how, yeah, he like to reach.
[24:56] Speaker 1: No, he don't use them.
[24:57] Speaker 2: Right.
[24:58] Speaker 1: He don't know how to contest when the ball goes up.
[25:02] Speaker 2: Like, oh, just get back down.
[25:03] Speaker 5: Yeah, you see him getting the clip right at his chest.
[25:07] Speaker 1: Boom, boom. Man, defense with your chest.
[25:09] Speaker 2: Man.
[25:09] Speaker 1: The other way.
[25:12] Speaker 5: So the thing about it, right, so what I'm saying is, right,
[25:15] Speaker 5: so in the post, right, I'm just as entitled to
[25:19] Speaker 5: this space as you are offensively.
[25:21] Speaker 2: Okay. I don't have to give ground. Yeah.
[25:25] Speaker 6: So how should he play him? If he's playing post-D.
[25:29] Speaker 2: You can put your hand on him, can't you? You
[25:30] Speaker 2: got two hands. You can go arm, bar, and hand.
[25:32] Speaker 1: You can do this or this? Both.
[25:34] Speaker 2: You can do one and one.
[25:35] Speaker 1: Okay.
[25:36] Speaker 2: You can have a bent. You can have this and
[25:38] Speaker 2: a bent.
[25:39] Speaker 1: Okay.
[25:39] Speaker 2: Depending on what side he on. I'm never doing... So
[25:42] Speaker 2: most guys, where they fuck up at, if they do
[25:44] Speaker 2: do it, they lean like this on the baseline side.
[25:47] Speaker 1: Joker.
[25:48] Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah.
[25:48] Speaker 1: On the right block. That's what I do with Shaq.
[25:51] Speaker 1: Shaq just... Joker love that. Every time.
[25:53] Speaker 2: Me, I got this on the baseline side. Okay, force
[25:58] Speaker 2: in the middle. I can feel you when you're getting
[26:01] Speaker 2: ready to... If I grab here on the baseline side,
[26:04] Speaker 2: no matter what side you're on, I can hold in
[26:07] Speaker 2: your side so you can't spin off on me. As
[26:10] Speaker 2: soon as you get ready, if you do go, I
[26:12] Speaker 2: release and strip.
[26:14] Speaker 1: Okay. Same hand. Okay.
[26:17] Speaker 2: You go to spin, you turn, whatever. If you're getting
[26:20] Speaker 2: ready to turn to shoot baseline, I'm going to release
[26:23] Speaker 2: and strip every single time. But guys, at my position, right,
[26:28] Speaker 2: I was small for my position.
[26:31] Speaker 1: I'm 230, right?
[26:32] Speaker 2: On a good day, I played at 230. Most fours
[26:35] Speaker 2: and fives, I played against the 250, 60, 70 big guys.
[26:40] Speaker 2: So I had to learn certain techniques in the post.
[26:44] Speaker 2: That's one of them. I'm going to fight you.
[26:46] Speaker 1: I'm going to give you this.
[26:47] Speaker 2: I'm going to pull a chair on you. I'm going
[26:48] Speaker 2: to play a mind game with you. So when you
[26:51] Speaker 2: catch it, You're thinking on, oh shit, what the fuck?
[26:56] Speaker 2: I'm reaching for the ball. If you do catch it right,
[26:59] Speaker 2: I'm going to reach through. I'm going to give you
[27:01] Speaker 2: this look. Right? But this is here.
[27:06] Speaker 1: Reach through.
[27:07] Speaker 2: You hit your chest and you fall down and you
[27:09] Speaker 2: do that. See, I'm going to put a chain on you.
[27:11] Speaker 2: I'm going to fight you, fight you, fight you. I'm
[27:13] Speaker 2: going to get you off your spot. I'm going to
[27:14] Speaker 2: fight you hard as shit. I'm going to make you
[27:16] Speaker 2: feel like, this nigga's been strong as shit with me.
[27:18] Speaker 2: I'm going to make you do, as soon as you,
[27:20] Speaker 2: I'm going to move.
[27:22] Speaker 1: Okay. Right?
[27:23] Speaker 2: Okay. It's like, It's a pride thing. Ultimately, you feel
[27:27] Speaker 2: me being strong with you, what you want to do
[27:29] Speaker 2: with me. I want to get strong with you.
[27:32] Speaker 1: I win already. It's chess.
[27:34] Speaker 2: Here on the baseline side, I'm never going here on
[27:36] Speaker 2: the baseline. Do a spin every time. Sangoon do it
[27:40] Speaker 2: the best. As soon as he feel it, spin. Every time.
[27:44] Speaker 2: You're going to get a foul because it looks like
[27:46] Speaker 2: he pushed you.
[27:47] Speaker 1: Also, that hand got to be fucking strong. Yeah, so
[27:50] Speaker 1: I'm grabbing you.
[27:51] Speaker 3: No, but I'm saying, you know, he better be doing
[27:53] Speaker 3: some of these, because this right here.
[27:55] Speaker 2: And I can feel when you're getting ready.
[27:57] Speaker 1: You can't do nothing in the post without, as soon
[28:01] Speaker 1: as you get ready to turn. The difference with Joker, though,
[28:04] Speaker 1: is he loved the short elbows. I got it with this.
[28:06] Speaker 1: He loved the spin-off. That's what I'm saying. To use those, right?
[28:10] Speaker 1: But then, to his credit, he liked the strip, right?
[28:14] Speaker 5: There's a lot of other, the other bigs that was
[28:17] Speaker 5: back then loved to reach, like, to see you with
[28:21] Speaker 5: the chest. So instead of stripping, you're trying to bulldoze.
[28:24] Speaker 5: I got one bump with the chest that can straighten
[28:27] Speaker 5: you up. Now I get to contest. Like, his thing was,
[28:31] Speaker 5: I believe you got a greater chance to contest after
[28:35] Speaker 5: all of this shit. If you go up, and I'm
[28:38] Speaker 5: going to get you. So it's all about contested shots. Like,
[28:40] Speaker 5: if you got contested shots at the end of the day,
[28:43] Speaker 5: That's the best form of defense is contesting the shot
[28:46] Speaker 5: because I got a better chance of you missing than
[28:48] Speaker 5: just letting you go up and shoot that bitch.
[28:51] Speaker 2: Let me contest. And the best thing you can do
[28:52] Speaker 2: for yourself is doing your work early.
[28:54] Speaker 1: I was just about to say that. I was just
[28:56] Speaker 1: about to say that. Best thing you can do.
[28:57] Speaker 3: That's what I was about to say. I'm like, you're
[28:59] Speaker 3: doing your work. You're bumping him. He's not getting to
[29:01] Speaker 3: that box easy. By the time he gets it. Joker
[29:05] Speaker 3: brings up and goes.
[29:06] Speaker 1: And he turns. Okay.
[29:07] Speaker 2: Okay.
[29:08] Speaker 1: So how would he do that?
[29:09] Speaker 2: That's the best.
[29:09] Speaker 1: Because he don't ever really get it.
[29:11] Speaker 2: Do my work early and meet the motherfucker early. Tim Duncan. Right.
[29:15] Speaker 3: So how would you guard him today, though? If Jokic
[29:19] Speaker 3: is coming down with the ball, how would you guard that?
[29:20] Speaker 2: He's doing me a better... If he's on the perimeter,
[29:23] Speaker 2: he's doing me a favor.
[29:25] Speaker 6: Why is that?
[29:26] Speaker 1: If he's facing me.
[29:28] Speaker 3: Yeah, like he's coming down, off the rebound, he's coming down,
[29:31] Speaker 3: then he gets to that side, then he's doing all this.
[29:33] Speaker 5: I'm going to take the ball from him. Because don't
[29:37] Speaker 5: nobody be reaching for it.
[29:38] Speaker 1: They let him.
[29:40] Speaker 2: let him do it.
[29:40] Speaker 1: You already said you're a swiper. I'm watching the game yesterday.
[29:42] Speaker 2: Nick Carl Anthony Towns doing a motherfucking crossover right in
[29:45] Speaker 2: front of him, motherfucker.
[29:46] Speaker 5: Right in front of him. I'm like, yo, put your
[29:48] Speaker 5: hand out here. It's like, no, you're not going to
[29:52] Speaker 5: play with it. One thing for sure, dog.
[29:53] Speaker 2: You ask anybody that played, you're not going to play
[29:56] Speaker 2: with that ball around me. That's what you're not going
[29:58] Speaker 2: to do. In the post, dribbling it, I am going
[30:02] Speaker 2: to try to strip this.
[30:03] Speaker 1: That's just what it is.
[30:05] Speaker 2: I'm not going for it. You play with that ball
[30:07] Speaker 2: in the post, you got to have that bitch up
[30:08] Speaker 2: here somewhere. You move it, I might slap you.
[30:11] Speaker 1: Anything down here? Anything. Man, I didn't. I'm swiping up, down.
[30:17] Speaker 2: You're going to have to.
[30:18] Speaker 1: That's a good eye corner.
[30:19] Speaker 2: What are you doing? What are you doing?
[30:22] Speaker 1: You're doing this.
[30:23] Speaker 2: He's dribbling it down.
[30:24] Speaker 1: You're doing this. That spin is crazy. Yeah, it's hard.
[30:29] Speaker 5: He's saying him bringing it down, him just bringing it
[30:33] Speaker 5: down and then turning into the post.
[30:35] Speaker 2: Cool.
[30:36] Speaker 5: It turns the whole play into an iso play.
[30:42] Speaker 2: I'm all for it.
[30:43] Speaker 5: I know what you're saying, too, as far as it
[30:45] Speaker 5: takes time off the shot clock for you to even
[30:47] Speaker 5: do all of that. Bring it down. Now I'm in
[30:50] Speaker 5: front of you. I'm making you turn your back to me.
[30:53] Speaker 5: Now you got to hit me with the spin, half spin.
[30:57] Speaker 1: No, he would blow it up and then get it
[30:59] Speaker 1: at the free fall. Because if he ain't doing all that,
[31:01] Speaker 1: Yoki's going to pass the ball.
[31:02] Speaker 2: He's a hell of a fast I don't want people
[31:06] Speaker 2: to think that. He is a hell of a basketball player.
[31:09] Speaker 2: I admire him. I love watching him compete and play
[31:12] Speaker 2: the game. But I think defense. I watch this man endlessly, right?
[31:19] Speaker 2: Like I have to play against him. I'll study him
[31:21] Speaker 2: like I studied Tim Duncan, right? Didn't stop him, but
[31:25] Speaker 2: I made it as difficult as I could possibly make it.
[31:28] Speaker 2: Every possession, right? And this is a different game when
[31:31] Speaker 2: I'm playing against Tim Duncan. They're going through this man
[31:33] Speaker 2: on the post. Yeah, they running that shit. Hey, cross screen,
[31:37] Speaker 2: cross screen. Yeah, cross screen, cross screen.
[31:40] Speaker 1: Diagonal screens.
[31:42] Speaker 2: Yeah, like I'm getting screened, but it's like, it's the
[31:46] Speaker 2: chess match, right? When I said Tim Duncan made me
[31:48] Speaker 2: get better. Tim Duncan forced me. Like, if I'm meeting
[31:52] Speaker 2: him at the free throw line and forcing him out,
[31:54] Speaker 2: I can meet, I can force anybody to any shot
[31:56] Speaker 2: that I want if I'm doing it to him. Right?
[32:00] Speaker 2: He catching it, but one thing he didn't shoot against
[32:02] Speaker 2: me was the bank shot. Listen, I'm going to take
[32:04] Speaker 2: something away. Not one time Tim Duncan face me up
[32:07] Speaker 2: and shoot that bank. As soon as he face up,
[32:09] Speaker 2: I'm crap. Close the space.
[32:11] Speaker 1: Right?
[32:11] Speaker 2: I'm not backing up against that. Right? He going to
[32:13] Speaker 2: have to put that bitch down, swipe middle. Rip white, yeah.
[32:16] Speaker 1: Rip middle. Throw the hook.
[32:18] Speaker 2: Yep. Tim Duncan right.
[32:20] Speaker 1: All right. Let's just. So let's talk Joker regular season. VersaWills,
[32:26] Speaker 1: I'm just going to read this for you guys.
[32:27] Speaker 2: Mm-hmm.
[32:28] Speaker 1: Average 36, 15, 11 assists, 65% from the field, 50%
[32:32] Speaker 1: from three. So Jokic in two games. Jokic in two
[32:39] Speaker 1: games in the playoffs averaging 25, 14, 10 assists, but
[32:43] Speaker 1: he's shooting 49% from the field, 21% from three. Is
[32:47] Speaker 1: that sustainable for us for the series that we're about
[32:50] Speaker 1: to see Jokic start bringing some babies in the near future?
[32:55] Speaker 2: If Rudy steps up to the challenge, I don't know
[32:56] Speaker 2: what that looks like, but we all know what Nicole
[32:59] Speaker 2: is capable of doing. He's had a 60-point triple-double against him.
[33:01] Speaker 1: Put up 56 and 15 against him on Christmas Day.
[33:04] Speaker 2: We know what he's capable of doing, right? How good
[33:07] Speaker 2: of a defense you play, right?
[33:09] Speaker 1: No, that's what I said. I said it's the long series.
[33:11] Speaker 1: I love the.
[33:11] Speaker 3: Advice Anthony Edwards is giving him. Keep that shit in
[33:14] Speaker 3: his head because this ain't over.
[33:17] Speaker 1: This ain't over by a mile. So let's move forward
[33:21] Speaker 1: a little bit. Nuggets don't seem like a bear that
[33:24] Speaker 1: you want to poke, but Jaden McDaniels did just that
[33:27] Speaker 1: after the game. McDaniels asked what worked offensively for the Wolves,
[33:30] Speaker 1: and the win had this response.
[33:33] Speaker 8: Go out to Jokic, Jamal, all the bad defenders, Tim Hardaway,
[33:38] Speaker 8: Cam Johnson, Aaron Gordon.
[33:41] Speaker 1: The whole team. Just go at them. They're all bad defenders. Yeah,
[33:44] Speaker 1: they're all bad defenders. They don't got people that could
[33:47] Speaker 1: defend the rim.
[33:48] Speaker 4: And if he is there, we still more athletic than
[33:51] Speaker 4: them and just got to be able to finish.
[33:53] Speaker 1: When we do. Is there a discipline involved in just
[33:56] Speaker 1: staying in that attack mode? Yeah, you got to.
[33:59] Speaker 3: Yeah, just sometimes you got to know when to attack
[34:01] Speaker 3: and when the right moments and just if it's your
[34:04] Speaker 3: time to shoot it or pass it.
[34:05] Speaker 2: But either way, if you just break the paint, you're.
[34:07] Speaker 1: Going to have a shot or someone else is going
[34:08] Speaker 1: to be open.
[34:09] Speaker 2: Damn.
[34:10] Speaker 1: The Lakers traded him, too.
[34:12] Speaker 6: Yeah, he talking.
[34:13] Speaker 2: On draft night. This is when you don't like people.
[34:15] Speaker 1: Yes. Right?
[34:16] Speaker 2: Because you don't, like, you're supposed to keep this in
[34:18] Speaker 2: this playoff time. Mm-mm.
[34:19] Speaker 1: Right?
[34:20] Speaker 2: Mm-mm.
[34:20] Speaker 1: This is playoff time, right?
[34:22] Speaker 2: Mm-mm.
[34:22] Speaker 1: So. It's got a report.
[34:24] Speaker 2: Yeah, but you ain't supposed to get the scouting report away.
[34:26] Speaker 1: Yeah.
[34:26] Speaker 2: Because we want you to.
[34:27] Speaker 1: Because they're going to like no adjustment. He don't like them.
[34:30] Speaker 1: They're like, we got their number. He's saying they full name, too. Yeah.
[34:33] Speaker 1: Tim Hardaway.
[34:33] Speaker 7: What's the adjustment?
[34:34] Speaker 1: What's the adjustment? Aaron Gord. Aaron Thomas. Aaron Gord. Aaron Gord.
[34:37] Speaker 1: He's saying they full name.
[34:38] Speaker 5: Y'all going to show up and defend? We know y'all
[34:41] Speaker 5: can't defend. We know that if we be patient on
[34:44] Speaker 5: offense and we say not settling for these threes, let's
[34:47] Speaker 5: drive them.
[34:48] Speaker 1: Drive them. He don't like that. No, he don't.
[34:51] Speaker 2: That's my thing, right?
[34:52] Speaker 1: That's the game plan, right?
[34:53] Speaker 2: You don't give the playoff game plan away. I understand
[34:57] Speaker 2: you like the plan was, listen, put your head down,
[35:00] Speaker 2: let's attack.
[35:01] Speaker 1: Let's go.
[35:02] Speaker 2: But to put names on it, we watched the game.
[35:05] Speaker 2: We saw what y'all were doing.
[35:06] Speaker 1: It's personal.
[35:07] Speaker 2: We want them to know. We want them to know.
[35:11] Speaker 3: We want them to know, and it's going to be
[35:12] Speaker 3: the same results like it was the last time we
[35:14] Speaker 3: saw you.
[35:14] Speaker 2: The thing is, you can't give, like, you don't know
[35:17] Speaker 2: if you want to give them bulletin board material.
[35:19] Speaker 1: Oh, yeah. No, listen.
[35:21] Speaker 3: We're about to see a crazy triple-double from y'all kids.
[35:24] Speaker 1: Yeah, because... But they got Jada McDaniels.
[35:27] Speaker 2: No, they don't.
[35:28] Speaker 1: No, they don't. It's Scott and Report. No, they don't play.
[35:31] Speaker 1: If it's Scott and Report, he's not lying. They play
[35:35] Speaker 1: good team defense.
[35:35] Speaker 5: If we talking Scott and Report, and I'm Jada McDaniels,
[35:39] Speaker 5: and we looking at how they just played the way
[35:41] Speaker 5: we played against them. We want to see if y'all
[35:45] Speaker 5: going to step up.
[35:46] Speaker 1: We playing mind games with you. And we playing offense too.
[35:50] Speaker 1: We playing offense.
[35:51] Speaker 5: Y'all got to play defense, but can we sustain y'all offense?
[35:54] Speaker 2: That's all.
[35:55] Speaker 5: Our thing is, can we stop y'all from doing what
[35:58] Speaker 5: y'all do best? If we can do that, we know
[36:00] Speaker 5: we got a chance now. All we got to do
[36:03] Speaker 5: is attack. Get to the free throw line.
[36:04] Speaker 1: What are you saying, B?
[36:06] Speaker 3: I was going to say, I mean, I'm kind of
[36:08] Speaker 3: with you because I will wait till after, after the series,
[36:11] Speaker 3: and then be.
[36:11] Speaker 1: Like, yeah, I mean, well, this is a scouting report
[36:13] Speaker 1: right here. It's That's not something to say after game two. No,
[36:16] Speaker 1: it's not.
[36:17] Speaker 2: Not at all.
[36:18] Speaker 1: I mean, these guys are champions.
[36:20] Speaker 3: So it's like, you know, and this guy and we
[36:22] Speaker 3: just beat them last year.
[36:23] Speaker 1: I know. I know. But I'm saying you got it.
[36:26] Speaker 3: You got a three time MVP NBA champion over there.
[36:30] Speaker 1: All right. And Jamal Murray.
[36:34] Speaker 5: I mean, I'm just saying like you don't want to wait.
[36:41] Speaker 1: You don't want to wait. Bruce Brown. Bruce Brown. Oh, yeah.
[36:44] Speaker 1: Aaron Gordon.
[36:44] Speaker 2: Christian Brown was on the team.
[36:46] Speaker 1: Aaron Gordon.
[36:46] Speaker 2: Aaron Gordon was on the team.
[36:47] Speaker 1: Jamar Murray. All of them was on the team. And
[36:50] Speaker 1: I think Zeke.
[36:53] Speaker 2: Naja might have been on the team as well. So
[36:54] Speaker 2: they got guys.
[36:55] Speaker 5: Daniels is saying we're going to put these niggas out
[36:57] Speaker 5: the same way we did last year.
[36:59] Speaker 1: He don't like that.
[37:00] Speaker 2: Yeah, fuck them.
[37:01] Speaker 3: And here you know, Yoka's going to have a 60-
[37:02] Speaker 3: 10 and 12.
[37:05] Speaker 1: We cool with that.
[37:06] Speaker 5: Sometimes you got to give that up for him to
[37:09] Speaker 5: be cool.
[37:09] Speaker 1: With his triple-double. No, you don't. For us to win.
[37:12] Speaker 1: Not that one.
[37:13] Speaker 5: If we pull out a two-point win and he got
[37:15] Speaker 5: that kind of triple, cool, let him go.
[37:17] Speaker 1: To his horses, you know what I'm saying? Y'all do
[37:20] Speaker 1: not want him to see him get that shit going
[37:21] Speaker 1: like that. We cool. They've seen it before.
[37:23] Speaker 5: They've seen it before.
[37:26] Speaker 1: Let's win the game.
[37:27] Speaker 2: And the honest to God truth about it, Jamal Murray
[37:32] Speaker 2: has done his part.
[37:33] Speaker 1: Right. 30 years. 30 years, 70. Both games.
[37:39] Speaker 2: Both games. Nikola has pretty much done what he's supposed to. Solid.
[37:44] Speaker 2: But you said before the game, I mean before the show,
[37:47] Speaker 2: is Aaron Gordon. Aaron Gordon. Timmy played well. Tim played solid.
[37:52] Speaker 1: Mm-hmm.
[37:53] Speaker 2: Who is this other kid that he's throwing out there?
[37:55] Speaker 1: Jones.
[37:57] Speaker 5: Weird. He look like a 2K player, bro.
[38:01] Speaker 2: I'm like, why?
[38:01] Speaker 5: Who is he?
[38:02] Speaker 2: He's throwing him out there.
[38:04] Speaker 1: He ain't doing nothing. He's fouling. He's just running around.
[38:07] Speaker 5: He look like he going to foul you as soon
[38:08] Speaker 5: as he sub in.
[38:09] Speaker 1: As soon as he check in.
[38:10] Speaker 2: This nigga's about to foul somebody.
[38:11] Speaker 1: What the fuck is he in the game for? 21.
[38:13] Speaker 1: What the fuck is he in the game for? I
[38:14] Speaker 1: don't know. I said the same shit. I'm like, who
[38:18] Speaker 1: is this nigga? Yeah, well, yeah, who is this nigga?
[38:21] Speaker 2: Steve Kerr just threw him in there. Just threw him
[38:24] Speaker 2: in there.
[38:24] Speaker 1: Run around and foul this nigga. You're going to let
[38:26] Speaker 1: him sleep in the big house? Yeah, but. No disrespect,
[38:29] Speaker 1: young fella. I know you're trying to make your choice.
[38:31] Speaker 2: I just don't think you should be playing the playoffs. Man,
[38:33] Speaker 2: you just look like a hack.
[38:35] Speaker 1: That's it.
[38:36] Speaker 2: Yeah, this is high stakes out here, dog. You are
[38:39] Speaker 2: just running around hacking. We will see what happens.
[38:42] Speaker 4: That's how it always is when you throw a young.
[38:45] Speaker 1: Yeah. He do it well.
[38:47] Speaker 2: He run around and he gonna foul. But to y'all
[38:50] Speaker 2: point that y'all was like what Jaden McDaniels is saying
[38:52] Speaker 2: like historically. Tim Hardaway is not known as a defender.
[38:56] Speaker 2: Jamal Murray is not known as a defender. Aaron Gordon
[38:59] Speaker 2: is not known as a defender. Like, the whole squad,
[39:01] Speaker 2: Nikola Jokic is not known as a defender.
[39:04] Speaker 1: He said the whole team, man. He said the starting.
[39:06] Speaker 2: Five, right?
[39:07] Speaker 1: He said first and last name, too.
[39:09] Speaker 2: The only one who came off the bench, he didn't
[39:10] Speaker 2: say nothing about Bruce Brown because he defended, right?
[39:13] Speaker 1: He should have been around Bruce Brown.
[39:15] Speaker 2: But everybody else that got minutes, he called out.
[39:19] Speaker 1: Let's keep this thing moving. A lot more playoff basketball

[40:36] Speaker 1: see you rocking the vintage. Oh, you feel me? Lakers
[40:39] Speaker 1: letterman jacket. Lakers and Rockets with the Saturday night cap
[40:43] Speaker 1: for opening day of the playoffs. The Lakers won back-to-back
[40:45] Speaker 1: games in Houston in mid-March to win the season series.
[40:49] Speaker 1: The purple and gold was still without Luka and Austin
[40:51] Speaker 1: Reeves as both continue to recover from injury while the
[40:53] Speaker 1: Rockets were without Kevin Durant. He warmed up pregame. Game
[40:57] Speaker 1: one was ruled out with a right knee injury. He
[40:59] Speaker 1: suffered after banging knees with a teammate in practice this
[41:02] Speaker 1: past Wednesday. Rockets were 4-0 in the regular season without KD,
[41:07] Speaker 1: but this is not the regular season. Let's take a
[41:09] Speaker 1: look at the highlights if we can, please. So LeBron
[41:12] Speaker 1: was up to the challenge in his 293rd career playoff game,
[41:15] Speaker 1: embracing the role of facilitator in the first half. LeBron
[41:19] Speaker 1: dished out eight assists in the first quarter alone, the
[41:22] Speaker 1: most for him in any quarter in his playoff career.
[41:27] Speaker 1: Also got a few buggers as well. Look at Shane Goon.
[41:30] Speaker 1: They were cooking Shane Goon on the internet. this weekend,
[41:34] Speaker 1: particularly his defense. It is what it is. Lakers went
[41:37] Speaker 1: 15 for 19 from the field to take a four
[41:39] Speaker 1: point lead after the first frame. Doing what they needed
[41:44] Speaker 1: to do. Beautiful basketball. Lakers led by as much as 10.
[41:50] Speaker 1: in the second quarter, but the Rockets bounced back to
[41:52] Speaker 1: close the gap, trailing by just two points at the half.
[41:54] Speaker 1: The Lakers shot nearly 65% from the field in the
[41:57] Speaker 1: first two quarters, while holding Houston to just 37%. Rockets
[42:01] Speaker 1: briefly took the lead in the third quarter, but the
[42:02] Speaker 1: Lakers made sure it didn't last long, led by as
[42:05] Speaker 1: much as 16 points in the fourth quarter, with LeBron
[42:09] Speaker 1: and Luke Kennard each scoring nine points in the final frame.
[42:12] Speaker 1: All five Lakers starters finished in double figures, while each
[42:15] Speaker 1: playing at least 34 minutes. LeBron stuffed the stat sheet
[42:18] Speaker 1: with 19 points, 13 assists, and 8 rebounds. 145th career
[42:22] Speaker 1: postseason double-double, third most in NBA history. Luke Kinnar led
[42:26] Speaker 1: the Lakers with a playoff career high, 27 points on
[42:29] Speaker 1: 9 and 13 shooting. He was 5 for 5 from deep.
[42:31] Speaker 1: DeAndre 8, 19 and 11 boards. Marcus Smart, 15 and
[42:34] Speaker 1: 8 dimes. Shane Goon led the Rockets with 19 points.
[42:37] Speaker 1: He was 6 of 19 from the field. Amon Thompson
[42:40] Speaker 1: and Reed Shepard both had 17 but were combined 13
[42:43] Speaker 1: for 28. Lakers held the Rockets at 38% shooting. 33%
[42:47] Speaker 1: from three in the game. Lakers attempted just 66 shots.
[42:50] Speaker 1: What a smoke button. Huh? What a smoke button. Here,
[42:54] Speaker 1: I'll give you a little bit. Hold on. There we go.
[42:57] Speaker 1: Give you a little bit. Lakers attempted just 66 shots.
[43:02] Speaker 1: Fewest in the NBA game in the past three seasons.
[43:04] Speaker 1: They also gave up 21 offensive rebounds. Only had three
[43:06] Speaker 1: offensive rebounds.
[43:07] Speaker 4: We love LA.
[43:09] Speaker 1: Third straight win over the Rockets.
[43:10] Speaker 2: That's the song.
[43:13] Speaker 4: We love LA.
[43:17] Speaker 2: Go ahead, keep talking.
[43:18] Speaker 1: No, I'm not. You know what they said coming into
[43:21] Speaker 1: this series? We wasn't going to win a game. We
[43:23] Speaker 1: wasn't going to win shit. Sweet. They said it was sweet. Brown,
[43:26] Speaker 1: 41 years old. 41. Brian and Brian would never see
[43:29] Speaker 1: the floor together. First father and son to play in
[43:31] Speaker 1: a playoff game. In a playoff, right? They said it
[43:34] Speaker 1: would happen. After the game, LeBron had this to say
[43:36] Speaker 1: about filling the void left by Luka and Austin Reeves.
[43:39] Speaker 9: Well, for me, I got to do a little bit
[43:41] Speaker 9: of everything. You know, that's what the job requires.
[43:45] Speaker 2: And.
[43:46] Speaker 9: You know, so just being a triple threat, being able
[43:48] Speaker 9: to rebound, being able to pass, being able to shoot,
[43:52] Speaker 9: also defend, put myself in a position where I can,
[43:55] Speaker 9: you know, bring value to this ball club, bring value
[43:57] Speaker 9: to this team, you know, throughout this series. And, you know,
[44:00] Speaker 9: it's going to be a game-to-game situation to see, you know,
[44:03] Speaker 9: how the game plays out. So I don't really predetermine
[44:06] Speaker 9: what I'm going to do. The only thing that's predetermined
[44:08] Speaker 9: in my game is how I prepare. You know, how
[44:10] Speaker 9: I prepare before I get to the game. And then
[44:13] Speaker 9: once I get out there, it's all about reading, reacting,
[44:15] Speaker 9: I understand the situations. I've been in every situation you
[44:19] Speaker 9: can ever imagine as a basketball player. So there's nothing
[44:22] Speaker 9: that can surprise me.
[44:24] Speaker 1: Every situation. Every situation. 293 playoff games. I mean, I'm
[44:27] Speaker 1: sure you see a lot of different things in 293.
[44:29] Speaker 1: I never played in a playoff game, so I don't know.
[44:31] Speaker 1: But 293 of them, I would imagine. You've seen it all.
[44:34] Speaker 1: A lot of stuff thrown my way. What are your
[44:35] Speaker 1: biggest takeaways from the Lakers game one win over the Rockets?
[44:38] Speaker 1: I want to hear the others talk first. Let's move
[44:43] Speaker 1: on to you, Mr. B. Tough crowd university. Are you
[44:44] Speaker 1: in Laker today? The lab was slim. Yeah, no, I'm
[44:48] Speaker 1: happy they won. Got a haircut to come back? Just happy.
[44:51] Speaker 3: Oh, you got to give it up to JJ. He
[44:53] Speaker 3: out-coached E-May. But, you know, no KD. If KD's not there,
[45:00] Speaker 3: this team is definitely ass.
[45:02] Speaker 1: Oh, the Rockets?
[45:03] Speaker 6: Yeah, the Rockets are definitely ass without KD. It's not
[45:06] Speaker 6: even a joke. Jabari Smith Jr.
[45:09] Speaker 3: he was just throwing shit off the backboard.
[45:11] Speaker 6: Like, just reach... Reed Shepard, what, he was six foot nine?
[45:16] Speaker 4: So one person makes them good? I thought Houston was
[45:18] Speaker 4: like that. You thought it was a team guy?
[45:20] Speaker 1: No, no. They was in that caliber? No, I'm going
[45:23] Speaker 1: to be honest.
[45:23] Speaker 6: No, I'm going to be honest. I mean, without KD.
[45:26] Speaker 1: Reed Shepard six for 20, five for 14 from three. Yeah,
[45:29] Speaker 1: I mean. Defense. You know, the defense.
[45:31] Speaker 2: I thought you didn't want to talk yet. I'm sorry.
[45:33] Speaker 2: You know what? My bad.
[45:36] Speaker 1: You're a Laker fan anyway. Let the Lakers talk to me.
[45:40] Speaker 1: Let me let you talk for a minute. Go ahead.
[45:43] Speaker 2: Aiden.
[45:43] Speaker 1: You can't help yourself. Aiden, you know, since he got
[45:49] Speaker 1: his haircut from J.C., you know, double-double. J.C. Barber to
[45:53] Speaker 1: the stars. J.C. to Barber.
[45:55] Speaker 3: But, yeah, man, seriously, though, if KD isn't back, you know,
[45:58] Speaker 3: LeBron definitely has something personal with the coach over there
[46:01] Speaker 3: in Houston. So this is definitely something that he definitely
[46:03] Speaker 3: wants to win. But, yeah, you know, like KD was tweeting,
[46:07] Speaker 3: you know, team is ass.
[46:08] Speaker 2: So.
[46:09] Speaker 6: Ain't no lie to it.
[46:10] Speaker 1: Reportedly, a KD Burner account all-star weekend. No confirmation if
[46:14] Speaker 1: it actually was KD.
[46:15] Speaker 2: KD said they team was ass.
[46:17] Speaker 1: Well, yeah. Y'all heard that, Houston? Houston, we have a problem.
[46:23] Speaker 1: Also referred to Westbrook as a triple-double cocaine bear. Cocaine bear.
[46:27] Speaker 1: Alleged account. Alleged? No word if it was that. What happened? Alleged.
[46:33] Speaker 1: Let's shift over to this side. I see you rocking
[46:35] Speaker 1: your wrist, still in solidarity.
[46:37] Speaker 2: I am, man.
[46:38] Speaker 1: You still rocking it. Damn, what's up? And they played
[46:41] Speaker 1: a night and it's all red. You know what I'm
[46:43] Speaker 1: talking about? That's Cincinnati, man. Still in solidarity. You know
[46:48] Speaker 1: what I'm talking about?
[46:49] Speaker 2: Yeah, nah, man.
[46:50] Speaker 1: Hey, my bad, Luke. Hey, hey.
[46:53] Speaker 4: Give him some more smoke for that. He's apologizing all
[46:56] Speaker 4: day on this couch.
[46:57] Speaker 1: This nigga, that's my wife's office.
[47:02] Speaker 2: Hey, but you didn't play four, but the one you
[47:04] Speaker 2: did play, hey, play well. No, but yeah, no KD, man.
[47:12] Speaker 2: They ain't got enough shooting, enough on the perimeter. Game
[47:16] Speaker 2: playing against the people that they do have out there
[47:19] Speaker 2: is easy. the Houston Rockets, that is. To Brandon's point,
[47:28] Speaker 2: it's easy to coach against them, and J.J. did an
[47:30] Speaker 2: excellent job putting his team in. Situation to be successful
[47:35] Speaker 2: and using Houston's lack of basketball awareness and intelligence at times.
[47:47] Speaker 2: You got one shooter out there. How do you continue
[47:50] Speaker 2: to leave him open?
[47:52] Speaker 1: Right?
[47:54] Speaker 2: And Luke Kennard, that is.
[47:55] Speaker 1: He's elusive, Kenyon.
[47:57] Speaker 2: Not that elusive. Not if you're paying attention to him.
[47:59] Speaker 2: Not if you're in tune to who does what. Not
[48:03] Speaker 2: that elusive. But he used it to his advantage and
[48:07] Speaker 2: coaching to their advantage in this situation.
[48:12] Speaker 1: Yeah.
[48:13] Speaker 2: They were just supposed to in game one. You took
[48:16] Speaker 2: care of home. Without Luka, without Austin, it's a tough
[48:32] Speaker 2: road to haul. But they did it in game one, man.
[48:38] Speaker 2: And we don't know if KD's going to play in
[48:41] Speaker 2: game two. If he doesn't, it's pretty much going to
[48:43] Speaker 2: be the same look, I think.
[48:44] Speaker 1: Questionable.
[48:45] Speaker 2: Questionable for game two. Don't know if he's going to play, but.
[48:48] Speaker 2: I'm assuming it'll be the same game planning, make them
[48:50] Speaker 2: dudes shoot, make Houston shoot, and with that, it'll be
[48:56] Speaker 2: the same result. It's... 41-year-old LeBron? Yeah, so my thing,
[49:03] Speaker 2: if LeBron is driving to the basket, right, he's not
[49:06] Speaker 2: the LeBron of old. Teams over-help so much when he's driving.
[49:13] Speaker 2: Make him finish over one, right? If he does, great.
[49:16] Speaker 2: You're just overhelping, overhelping. Eight assists in the first quarter.
[49:19] Speaker 2: You guys just, like, he's proving to you what he's
[49:23] Speaker 2: on today. He's a facilitator.
[49:26] Speaker 5: LeMagic Bronson. And Houston just keep reacting to everything that
[49:31] Speaker 5: he does, right? He drives to the basket, y'all collapse.
[49:33] Speaker 1: They're amazed. Yeah. The eyes. You saw Shane Goon. The
[49:38] Speaker 1: glissy eyes. Shane Goon stood to his feet when LeBron
[49:41] Speaker 1: took the court. He said he was trying to get
[49:42] Speaker 1: something in his pocket. Yeah, but no.
[49:43] Speaker 2: They can do what they're supposed to.
[49:45] Speaker 1: You got to bow. Yeah, they did what they're supposed to.
[49:49] Speaker 2: You got to bow to the king.
[49:50] Speaker 1: It's another home game tonight.
[49:52] Speaker 2: Hey. Chance to go up 2-0.
[49:57] Speaker 1: We just got to enjoy these moments.
[49:59] Speaker 2: Chance to go up 2-0, man.
[50:00] Speaker 1: They do what they're supposed to. It might not last.
[50:03] Speaker 1: It's me, son. KD don't play.
[50:06] Speaker 2: Good luck. Trust me.
[50:11] Speaker 5: Does that make LeBron an official fourth option?
[50:16] Speaker 1: He's seen everything and he can adjust to anything.
[50:18] Speaker 2: He's optionless. Luke.
[50:18] Speaker 1: Luke. Fellow Ohioan.
[50:26] Speaker 2: Luke.
[50:27] Speaker 1: J.J. and Luke. J.J.
[50:29] Speaker 5: And Luke back at Duke. He needs somebody he can
[50:33] Speaker 5: depend on. He needs a shooter. That's supposed to be
[50:37] Speaker 5: Dalton Kinnick out there doing that type of shit. He's
[50:39] Speaker 5: got to need a Dukie.
[50:40] Speaker 1: He had his chance.
[50:41] Speaker 2: He had his chance.
[50:42] Speaker 1: Dalton could do that in the G League.
[50:44] Speaker 5: 27 points from Luke Kennard in the first game. He
[50:51] Speaker 5: may definitely get now coached. Definitely not seeing the difference
[50:55] Speaker 5: between the regular season games that they pounced on Houston
[50:59] Speaker 5: with and used the zone and used the lanes and
[51:03] Speaker 5: making them shoot threes, making them adjust. I didn't see
[51:07] Speaker 5: too much zone in this previous game, but you could
[51:10] Speaker 5: see they got their number defensively, figuring out how to
[51:13] Speaker 5: make them guys take terrible shots. Sangoon, to be honest,
[51:18] Speaker 5: as high as everybody was on him, Like he's shown
[51:24] Speaker 5: that he could be tradable. I'm not rolling with none
[51:29] Speaker 5: of the antics, even how he's getting to the basket,
[51:32] Speaker 5: the things that he's been doing is not conducive to
[51:35] Speaker 5: the team chemistry. You see them out there trying to
[51:38] Speaker 5: figure out where they're going to get a bucket from.
[51:40] Speaker 2: You don't got no KD.
[51:42] Speaker 5: And to Swag's point, Houston that was number two is
[51:45] Speaker 5: without a Jalen Green and a Dylan Brooks. And I
[51:48] Speaker 5: think those two pieces change the dynamic of that team.
[51:51] Speaker 5: And the fact that KD not there and they look
[51:54] Speaker 5: this bad, Luke Canard can.
[51:56] Speaker 7: Come in there and Skywalker all over their ass.
[52:00] Speaker 2: It's different.
[52:01] Speaker 5: And you got LeBron don't really have to do nothing
[52:03] Speaker 5: but be a magnet. And to be that stupid as
[52:06] Speaker 5: a team to see that this guy's, whether his age
[52:10] Speaker 5: or his ability is gravitating, you guys will come in
[52:14] Speaker 5: and make easy life for Rui and Marcus Smart and
[52:19] Speaker 5: Aiton getting busy out there just... They don't have to
[52:23] Speaker 5: exert energy to do what they was doing. They just
[52:26] Speaker 5: living around LeBron. So I think they cook regardless, even
[52:32] Speaker 5: if KD come back. I think they cook because KD
[52:35] Speaker 5: didn't show to have a solution for the shit they
[52:37] Speaker 5: was doing in the regular season. There was no solution.
[52:40] Speaker 5: It was more frustration. So I think this is a
[52:42] Speaker 5: bad matchup for Houston all the way around. I think
[52:46] Speaker 5: if the L.A. come out there and just play harder
[52:49] Speaker 5: than them, they'll get rid of them. It could be
[52:52] Speaker 5: a gentleman sweep or a sweep.
[52:53] Speaker 1: Wow.
[52:55] Speaker 2: Damn.
[52:56] Speaker 1: 41-year-old LeBron James, gentleman sweeping. It's personal for LeBron. You
[53:00] Speaker 1: don't have to go. Go ahead, go ahead.
[53:02] Speaker 4: Shout out to the greatest point guard to ever play
[53:04] Speaker 4: this game, LeBron James. The fact that all y'all saying
[53:09] Speaker 4: is 41 and he's destroying teams.
[53:13] Speaker 1: You feel me?
[53:14] Speaker 4: Still making players look good, giving players confidence. He don't
[53:18] Speaker 4: have to go to beast mode.
[53:19] Speaker 1: Weird.
[53:21] Speaker 2: He's A.I.
[53:22] Speaker 1: Magnus Johnson right now.
[53:24] Speaker 4: You ain't seen Luke Kennard look like this all year
[53:26] Speaker 4: until A.I.
[53:28] Speaker 1: Magnus Johnson and LeBron.
[53:29] Speaker 2: He don't know how to take it off. He don't
[53:30] Speaker 2: know how to take it off.
[53:31] Speaker 1: Mark is smart.
[53:35] Speaker 4: It's all about uplifting and building confidence in your players.
[53:38] Speaker 4: And when you do see LeBron go down the lane,
[53:41] Speaker 4: he still can dunk on your head. So you do
[53:43] Speaker 4: have to look for that. It ain't as high as
[53:45] Speaker 4: it used to be, but LeBron still dunks.
[53:48] Speaker 2: Okay, I can still dunk too.
[53:51] Speaker 4: Sangoon don't jump higher than LeBron at 41. The guy
[53:53] Speaker 4: that's on him.
[53:57] Speaker 2: He's got a tall, he's got a Eason or Jabari
[54:00] Speaker 2: Smith or one of them that's on him.
[54:02] Speaker 1: Let him finish over one of them instead of over
[54:04] Speaker 1: helping is what I'm saying.
[54:05] Speaker 4: They skinny though, like light.
[54:07] Speaker 1: Man, I mean, Brown put that old man on you.
[54:10] Speaker 2: He still can dunk, but it ain't like that 27-year-old, Brian.
[54:14] Speaker 1: But it's like that. Then I can understand you're getting
[54:16] Speaker 1: out the way. It's like that, yeah. All right, young fella.
[54:19] Speaker 4: I'm going to go over the top of your ass,
[54:22] Speaker 4: you know?
[54:23] Speaker 1: You know, above the rim. For the seventh.
[54:26] Speaker 3: Yeah.
[54:26] Speaker 1: I'm going to drop you off.
[54:28] Speaker 2: I'm going to drop you off at five.
[54:32] Speaker 1: I'm going to ten. Thank you.
[54:33] Speaker 2: It's that old man shit.
[54:34] Speaker 1: You see them old niggas at the gym. He'll get buckets.
[54:37] Speaker 1: LeBron embracing the ball. Man. Ball head. Embracing the rollers.
[54:41] Speaker 1: Got buckets in the fourth quarter. That's what he has.
[54:44] Speaker 4: I think that would be the best thing for the
[54:47] Speaker 4: Lakers is LeBron stay at, stay doing what he's doing
[54:50] Speaker 4: because he can't go beast mode.
[54:52] Speaker 1: Not going to get embarrassed in front of his son?
[54:53] Speaker 1: He can't.
[54:54] Speaker 2: Just keep it real.
[54:55] Speaker 4: He can't go 2018 LeBron or 2002 and try to
[55:01] Speaker 4: go for 40.
[55:04] Speaker 1: Possible. All things possible.
[55:06] Speaker 4: So as long as the others are hitting shots and
[55:09] Speaker 4: playing with confidence, I think LeBron's stay at 28 and
[55:15] Speaker 4: 13 assists is.
[55:19] Speaker 2: It was going to be a great night. Vando made
[55:21] Speaker 2: that corner three. I was like, yeah, it's going to
[55:23] Speaker 2: be a great night.
[55:26] Speaker 4: But if KD come back, I think it's a different story.
[55:29] Speaker 4: KD coming back, it's a different story, though. A different
[55:32] Speaker 4: story as in what? As in what, the Lakers are
[55:35] Speaker 4: going to win the series?
[55:36] Speaker 1: It'll be harder. It's harder, for sure.
[55:39] Speaker 5: So it'll go back to like. So yeah, like he
[55:42] Speaker 5: plays good because he's 41 with Katie come back.
[55:44] Speaker 1: He's 41.
[55:45] Speaker 7: What do you know?
[55:47] Speaker 5: I'm saying like.
[55:50] Speaker 1: No, they do the work. We never see this man.
[55:53] Speaker 1: He's 41.
[55:54] Speaker 7: What do you know?
[55:57] Speaker 4: All-star we have one all-star. They're going to have two
[56:00] Speaker 4: all-stars to our one that don't.
[56:03] Speaker 1: That if Katie that one all-star single.
[56:06] Speaker 2: No matter what y'all say you've been an all-star.
[56:08] Speaker 7: He's an all-star.
[56:10] Speaker 1: He's an all-star.
[56:11] Speaker 2: Who's the Lakers all-star?
[56:13] Speaker 1: LeBron. So that equals out.
[56:16] Speaker 2: And it's the others.
[56:17] Speaker 1: But KD coming back is two all-stars versus... LeBron.
[56:21] Speaker 2: Luke Kennard looked like the all-star.
[56:23] Speaker 4: He's supposed to look like Reed Shepard's supposed to.
[56:26] Speaker 1: Look like Luke Kennard. It was their first game. We'll
[56:29] Speaker 1: see on that, bro.
[56:29] Speaker 2: He's supposed to look like Luke Kennard. He took a
[56:31] Speaker 2: lot of shots since he had 17.
[56:32] Speaker 1: That's what I'm saying. Six for 20.
[56:35] Speaker 4: Another all-star step on the floor against LeBron.
[56:38] Speaker 1: 20 shots.
[56:39] Speaker 2: Hey, Reed Shepard got 20 shots of me. Y'all better listen.
[56:42] Speaker 2: Was it supposed to be Reed or was it supposed
[56:43] Speaker 2: to be Amen?
[56:44] Speaker 1: Yeah.
[56:45] Speaker 5: Both.
[56:46] Speaker 1: They took Aitman out.
[56:46] Speaker 4: And y'all talk about last year. Did you see Phoenix
[56:50] Speaker 4: Clones this weekend, too?
[56:53] Speaker 1: Hard to watch.
[56:54] Speaker 6: What about it?
[56:56] Speaker 1: I would have traded all of them then. Hey, man. Shit. Tough.
[57:00] Speaker 4: And last year, they got passed by another team. Yeah,
[57:04] Speaker 4: it's a different team. Now it's a different king this year.
[57:07] Speaker 4: Last year, it was still Curry the king. Now it's
[57:09] Speaker 4: LeBron the king.
[57:11] Speaker 2: It's a bad matchup, I think.
[57:13] Speaker 5: Even if Luka and AR is out there, against KD
[57:17] Speaker 5: and them, they getting their ass whooped. I agree.
[57:20] Speaker 4: Oh, yeah.
[57:20] Speaker 2: Houston getting their ass whooped.
[57:21] Speaker 1: Yeah, for sure.
[57:22] Speaker 5: So I don't think this is not a good matchup
[57:24] Speaker 5: for them at all around the board. And it showed
[57:27] Speaker 5: because you got LeBron and Luke Kennard whooping everybody except
[57:32] Speaker 5: for KD.
[57:32] Speaker 1: So is it saying y'all need KD that bad?
[57:35] Speaker 2: Yes.
[57:35] Speaker 1: Yes.
[57:36] Speaker 5: That y'all can't even whoop on the fucking L.A. Lakers
[57:38] Speaker 5: with no Luka, no AR, and a 40-year-old LeBron? If
[57:43] Speaker 5: I was out here threatening KD, telling him, hey, motherfucker,
[57:45] Speaker 5: you better win this shit. You better not lose to
[57:49] Speaker 5: LeBron James and them without Luka and them.
[57:52] Speaker 1: No Luka, no Austin Reed. Everybody thought the Lakers would cook. Yeah, definitely.
[57:56] Speaker 1: But then KD pulled up in the game.
[57:58] Speaker 2: That helps.
[57:58] Speaker 1: That helps y'all. KD versus LeBron. It's supposed to be one, right?
[58:02] Speaker 1: KD versus LeBron.
[58:03] Speaker 2: But if St.
[58:04] Speaker 1: Goon is out, I was very disappointed.
[58:12] Speaker 2: It's a big letdown for the game.
[58:14] Speaker 1: I was at my Little League hit-a-thon watching. We had
[58:16] Speaker 1: the game, bro. I was like, where KD? Ducky.
[58:21] Speaker 6: Ducky.
[58:22] Speaker 5: I definitely picked the Rockets to win it. Warned up
[58:27] Speaker 5: before the game.
[58:28] Speaker 1: Was that practice? I got the wrong thing.
[58:31] Speaker 5: Once you get that text in, it's like, oh, he
[58:33] Speaker 5: ain't playing. They already said what I said.
[58:36] Speaker 1: I thought different of Houston.
[58:38] Speaker 2: I thought they had guys that would accept the challenge
[58:45] Speaker 2: with Luka and Austin out there.
[58:47] Speaker 1: Even more.
[58:48] Speaker 2: I think they let their guard down. No, they didn't
[58:49] Speaker 2: let their fucking guard down. They just didn't come to play.
[58:52] Speaker 2: Aiden was playing well, too, though. That's what we expect.
[58:56] Speaker 2: Those numbers are what we said he should average.
[58:59] Speaker 1: 19 to 11.
[59:00] Speaker 2: We said those are his averages.
[59:02] Speaker 5: If he averaged that, we said they had a chance.
[59:05] Speaker 5: And that's him at number three.
[59:07] Speaker 1: Yes.
[59:08] Speaker 2: Him being the third option out there.
[59:10] Speaker 1: Out there right now.
[59:10] Speaker 2: Yeah, with them two out there.
[59:13] Speaker 1: And if he averaged that, that's been the fourth option.
[59:16] Speaker 1: When DeAndre Ayton's catching the ball, your team could be
[59:18] Speaker 1: in a very good position.
[59:19] Speaker 3: I mean, this series isn't over with Houston and the Lakers,
[59:21] Speaker 3: but I still feel like if Houston don't make those
[59:23] Speaker 3: moves to get Jalen Green and– What's the name Dylan
[59:29] Speaker 3: Brooks up out of there?
[59:31] Speaker 6: I think Houston is a better team, but it's overall.
[59:33] Speaker 1: You'd make that trade for KD though I'm just saying
[59:35] Speaker 1: you have the opportunity to get somebody like KD. You
[59:37] Speaker 1: got to give up Jalen green and Dylan Brooks But
[59:40] Speaker 1: you're not making them.
[59:42] Speaker 3: Oh No, I mean listen I don't know don't I
[59:45] Speaker 3: don't know why I say no I say like it's
[59:47] Speaker 3: hard because they're young and you guys were You guys
[59:50] Speaker 3: were it was their first year in the playoffs, right?
[59:52] Speaker 3: They didn't do it to them guys up in Boston.
[59:53] Speaker 3: I They stuck with them. And, I mean, look what
[59:56] Speaker 3: they're doing over there. Look what season they're having over
[59:59] Speaker 3: there in Phoenix. Well, after Jalen Green's postseason last year. Individually,
[1:00:02] Speaker 3: they're having a better season.
[1:00:03] Speaker 2: They're in the playoffs.
[1:00:04] Speaker 3: Like I said, they're still in the playoffs. And Dylan
[1:00:07] Speaker 3: Brooks is having a better season than he had last year.
[1:00:10] Speaker 1: Katie was supposed to stay in Houston. When they had
[1:00:13] Speaker 1: two seed last year? Phoenix.
[1:00:14] Speaker 2: Yeah, number two last year. Oh, man.
[1:00:16] Speaker 1: KD stay in Phoenix, what?
[1:00:17] Speaker 2: Houston was the two-seater with their head last year.
[1:00:19] Speaker 5: That was his third year in Phoenix? KD, that was
[1:00:22] Speaker 5: KD's third year? Yeah, so the trade-in.
[1:00:25] Speaker 4: But no matter, they lost to the Warriors. This wasn't
[1:00:27] Speaker 4: their first. This was Dylan Book's first year.
[1:00:29] Speaker 1: No, it was Houston's first year in the playoffs, right?
[1:00:33] Speaker 3: Yeah, so now you're about to play the Lakers, who
[1:00:35] Speaker 3: are worse, and you're about to lose to them?
[1:00:39] Speaker 1: You got Young Dog.
[1:00:40] Speaker 4: But that team last year lost to... The Warriors, a
[1:00:43] Speaker 4: seven seed, right?
[1:00:44] Speaker 2: Right.
[1:00:44] Speaker 1: It was their first year in the playoffs. How many
[1:00:46] Speaker 1: games did they win? They won one game?
[1:00:49] Speaker 2: What, against the Warriors last year? I don't know.
[1:00:51] Speaker 1: Didn't they go seven?
[1:00:52] Speaker 2: But that Warriors team wasn't a bad team last year.
[1:00:54] Speaker 1: They went seven. No, they wasn't.
[1:00:55] Speaker 2: They went seven. Jimmy Butler and all them.
[1:00:56] Speaker 1: They wasn't a bad team. They just got hurt. Remember,
[1:00:57] Speaker 1: Jimmy and them got hurt.
[1:00:59] Speaker 5: Nick.
[1:00:59] Speaker 1: This year.
[1:01:00] Speaker 2: Nick.
[1:01:02] Speaker 1: Nick.
[1:01:02] Speaker 5: I know, but they got hurt. Katie played two years
[1:01:05] Speaker 5: in Phoenix, bro. Two years in Phoenix. He's supposed to
[1:01:07] Speaker 5: play another two years in Phoenix. You're not supposed to
[1:01:10] Speaker 5: go to no other team.
[1:01:11] Speaker 4: That don't affect winning. I would love to have a
[1:01:13] Speaker 4: Dylan Brooks, but.
[1:01:16] Speaker 7: But you mean they don't affect winning?
[1:01:17] Speaker 1: They went from two to four.
[1:01:20] Speaker 2: Five? Four?
[1:01:21] Speaker 1: Fifth of their season, Mr. Green. Yeah, they went from
[1:01:23] Speaker 1: two to five. Behind the four-seeded Los Angeles Lakers. And
[1:01:26] Speaker 1: then you gave up on your young course.
[1:01:28] Speaker 4: I would love to trade for a Dylan Brooks. I
[1:01:30] Speaker 4: would love to have something like that.
[1:01:31] Speaker 1: Okay. For sure. For who?
[1:01:32] Speaker 2: You talking about for Phoenix?
[1:01:33] Speaker 1: For any team.
[1:01:34] Speaker 5: Guess what you gave up Jalen Green who got a
[1:01:38] Speaker 5: had a hamstring injury right and a bright future we
[1:01:40] Speaker 5: talking about real bright future athletic can shoot he can
[1:01:43] Speaker 5: do all those things down there in Phoenix he handing
[1:01:45] Speaker 5: the torch over to Jalen Green well Devin Booker is
[1:01:50] Speaker 5: right here.
[1:01:50] Speaker 1: Is he handing it or.
[1:01:52] Speaker 5: Somebody's taking something I mean shit he had 35 to
[1:01:54] Speaker 5: get them in.
[1:01:55] Speaker 1: The Devin Booker handing or Jalen Green is saying I
[1:01:57] Speaker 1: got this.
[1:01:57] Speaker 2: Both playing games both playing games.
[1:02:01] Speaker 1: Books then I mean, just go.
[1:02:07] Speaker 2: At this juncture, right?
[1:02:08] Speaker 1: We can go to Detroit. Yeah, with the KD thing. KD.
[1:02:12] Speaker 2: Yeah, I wouldn't have traded.
[1:02:14] Speaker 1: I'm not.
[1:02:14] Speaker 5: Because KD, where he was at, even though they was
[1:02:17] Speaker 5: going through turmoil, I don't give up on that because
[1:02:21] Speaker 5: we invested in it. So after two years, you give
[1:02:24] Speaker 5: up on that investment and you just sling them out?
[1:02:26] Speaker 5: And you say, Houston, here, we're going to solve y'all's problem.
[1:02:29] Speaker 1: We ain't got no problem. We was just number two.
[1:02:31] Speaker 1: We seen it in Milwaukee. But y'all still lose Fred
[1:02:33] Speaker 1: Van Fleet, too. We seen it in Milwaukee. There's bigger issues.
[1:02:35] Speaker 5: So if you got Fred with Jalen Green, Jalen Green.
[1:02:39] Speaker 1: Dylan Brooks with them young guys. But if you got
[1:02:41] Speaker 1: Fred with this squad.
[1:02:42] Speaker 2: I think they ain't going to win.
[1:02:43] Speaker 1: Nah. Because it's still, it's still fuck up.
[1:02:46] Speaker 4: Hey, with Fred, hey, with Fred, you still can't, the other.
[1:02:49] Speaker 2: Niggas still can't shoot. With Jalen Green and Book? No. No.
[1:02:57] Speaker 2: Are they going to win the championship with the Cape?
[1:03:00] Speaker 7: Are they going to win with KD? Are they going
[1:03:02] Speaker 7: to win with KD?
[1:03:05] Speaker 4: Were they ever going to win with that team?
[1:03:07] Speaker 5: I don't know. They had a future. They come closer
[1:03:09] Speaker 5: than what they are right now.
[1:03:10] Speaker 1: I mean, going from number two.
[1:03:12] Speaker 4: So if Houston comes back and they win this first round,
[1:03:16] Speaker 4: so don't I mean that what they did, they went
[1:03:18] Speaker 4: further than what the team had last year?
[1:03:21] Speaker 7: You said if Houston comes back and wins.
[1:03:22] Speaker 1: This first round.
[1:03:23] Speaker 4: If Houston comes back and they end up winning the series,
[1:03:26] Speaker 4: would that mean they went further than that team?
[1:03:28] Speaker 1: No, that don't mean that. Yes, but that still don't
[1:03:30] Speaker 1: mean that.
[1:03:30] Speaker 2: It is, yeah.
[1:03:31] Speaker 1: Probably don't mean that they better.
[1:03:33] Speaker 3: Because the Lakers ain't playing with their two best guys.
[1:03:34] Speaker 3: So you should be winning.
[1:03:36] Speaker 5: You should really be winning this.
[1:03:38] Speaker 2: You should be winning this series.
[1:03:40] Speaker 1: Like, they should be blowing their ass out. With no Luka,
[1:03:43] Speaker 1: no AR, you should win. That's like, that's 50 points
[1:03:45] Speaker 1: going right there. 57.
[1:03:46] Speaker 2: Yeah.
[1:03:48] Speaker 1: With LeBron Raymond on James' team. Yes. AI magic. LeMagic Bronson.
[1:03:56] Speaker 1: You know, I think Houston.
[1:03:58] Speaker 7: I'm not making that trade. I'm keeping them guys.
[1:04:00] Speaker 1: Making that trade.
[1:04:01] Speaker 2: Mm-mm.
[1:04:02] Speaker 1: Every Sunday. On a Lowe's day. Magic. Not a few
[1:04:09] Speaker 1: years ago, KD.
[1:04:10] Speaker 2: Maybe.
[1:04:10] Speaker 1: Yeah. Brooklyn KD. Yeah.
[1:04:14] Speaker 2: Any KD.
[1:04:14] Speaker 5: What you mean? Look what the KD doing now. He's
[1:04:17] Speaker 5: out with Neaton tonight. It's game one, bro. That's the
[1:04:20] Speaker 5: last thing we need you to play us good 70
[1:04:23] Speaker 5: games all season and get to the first game of
[1:04:26] Speaker 5: the playoffs and you ain't available. That's the last thing
[1:04:29] Speaker 5: we thinking. And we look nasty. And we don't even
[1:04:32] Speaker 5: know how to respond to not having you on the
[1:04:35] Speaker 5: floor now.
[1:04:35] Speaker 1: They look nasty. 30, 78 games already. That's what you want.
[1:04:39] Speaker 1: 70 games for the Lakers. You want this for the Lakers.
[1:04:41] Speaker 1: They look nasty last year.
[1:04:42] Speaker 2: You are really easy to defend without Kevin Durant.
[1:04:46] Speaker 1: You said they look nasty? No, Jalen Green. All right.
[1:04:48] Speaker 1: Did I say that, though? Jalen Green looked nasty last
[1:04:50] Speaker 1: year in the playoffs. That's it. But their team, I think,
[1:04:53] Speaker 1: what did they go? Six or seven? Houston.
[1:04:57] Speaker 3: They went six or seven last year with the Warriors.
[1:04:59] Speaker 1: Seven.
[1:04:59] Speaker 2: Seven.
[1:05:01] Speaker 1: Jalen Green struggled in the series. I think he had
[1:05:03] Speaker 1: one 30-point game the rest of the games. He was
[1:05:05] Speaker 1: getting benched in the fourth quarter.
[1:05:08] Speaker 5: If Houston picks up AD, I said, man, listen, y'all
[1:05:11] Speaker 5: going to have to change y'all whole offense, the whole
[1:05:14] Speaker 5: chemistry of the team around him. And if anything happened
[1:05:17] Speaker 5: with him, y'all fucked. The team y'all had before... Y'all
[1:05:21] Speaker 5: had motherfuckers that was playing based on who was hot
[1:05:24] Speaker 5: and how the ball was moving. Dylan was good. Shit,
[1:05:27] Speaker 5: Jabari played better. I feel like Sangoon didn't have no pressure.
[1:05:30] Speaker 5: He's really just feeling like he was number one option.
[1:05:33] Speaker 1: He was. And that's the problem. And now... KD over.
[1:05:36] Speaker 1: KD over.
[1:05:37] Speaker 2: And now he feels some type of way.
[1:05:38] Speaker 5: The burner account come out. He feel like he taking
[1:05:41] Speaker 5: shots at niggas.
[1:05:42] Speaker 2: Like, we don't know what's going on.
[1:05:44] Speaker 1: Yeah, they trash, bro. KD shouldn't... Not confirmed to be
[1:05:47] Speaker 1: KD's burner account, but... No, he did talk about Sangoon.
[1:05:50] Speaker 1: He was talking about all of them.
[1:05:52] Speaker 3: But last year, Sangoon, in them playoffs against the Warriors,
[1:05:54] Speaker 3: he's shown flashes of, yo, listen, some more time together.
[1:06:00] Speaker 1: Yo, I thought he was going to be able to
[1:06:01] Speaker 1: go like this. But I think him and KD, they
[1:06:04] Speaker 1: both need that ball. That's on them.
[1:06:08] Speaker 2: It's a natural deferring situation.
[1:06:12] Speaker 1: For sure. Seniority. For sure.
[1:06:14] Speaker 2: KD show up. I am going to defer to him
[1:06:17] Speaker 2: no matter what. I look crazy if I'm not.
[1:06:21] Speaker 1: No matter what, right? Do I? It's my shit, though.
[1:06:25] Speaker 1: It don't matter, though.
[1:06:26] Speaker 2: But it's KD. I know, I look crazy. But what
[1:06:30] Speaker 2: do we always say?
[1:06:31] Speaker 5: Yeah, but what do we always say?
[1:06:34] Speaker 3: Anytime you get that number one, anytime you get a
[1:06:37] Speaker 3: taste of being number one and you have some success, man,
[1:06:39] Speaker 3: you ain't trying to.
[1:06:40] Speaker 1: It's a different situation. Bron, go to Miami.
[1:06:42] Speaker 2: What happens? D-Wade.
[1:06:45] Speaker 5: Because it's not working when we're trying to share it.
[1:06:49] Speaker 7: It's not working.
[1:06:52] Speaker 2: Somebody has to.
[1:06:53] Speaker 1: I mean, LeBron coming off MVP. D-Wade's already saying. No,
[1:06:58] Speaker 1: I'm not saying.
[1:06:58] Speaker 3: No, but I'm saying LeBron James is coming over there
[1:07:02] Speaker 3: as MVP.
[1:07:04] Speaker 1: Facts. That's fair.
[1:07:07] Speaker 2: In a much higher situation, one guy felt he needed to,
[1:07:12] Speaker 2: you know what, in order for us to... To be
[1:07:14] Speaker 2: who we need to be. I feel, I'm going to
[1:07:17] Speaker 2: take a... I'm going to take a... I ain't, just a.
[1:07:22] Speaker 5: But think about, if the dude don't need that, if
[1:07:24] Speaker 5: he don't.
[1:07:25] Speaker 1: Need to be.
[1:07:26] Speaker 2: You feel like he going here.
[1:07:27] Speaker 5: Yeah, he don't need that. We ain't giving it to
[1:07:29] Speaker 5: you if you don't need it.
[1:07:30] Speaker 2: You bring the first ballot of all the family and
[1:07:34] Speaker 2: I'm in my fourth.
[1:07:35] Speaker 1: Year, right?
[1:07:36] Speaker 2: You....
[1:07:37] Speaker 1: Come on, man.
[1:07:38] Speaker 4: And you see how people look at him.
[1:07:41] Speaker 1: I appreciate you.
[1:07:42] Speaker 2: Not just naturally, right?
[1:07:45] Speaker 5: He show up and you just automatically at times in
[1:07:48] Speaker 5: the fourth quarter where you, Sangoon, would have went into his, now.
[1:07:51] Speaker 1: The ball in his hands.
[1:07:52] Speaker 2: You see it from the first day.
[1:07:53] Speaker 1: But that's the problem, though. Because I was just doing it.
[1:07:55] Speaker 3: I was just doing it last year in the fourth quarter.
[1:07:57] Speaker 3: So why are you taking it away from me now?
[1:07:59] Speaker 1: But it's coach, too. So I'm here. I'm supposed to help.
[1:08:01] Speaker 1: So I should be able to help KD more with this.
[1:08:04] Speaker 1: Because I can go get him, too.
[1:08:06] Speaker 5: But KD got to trust me, too. KD got to
[1:08:08] Speaker 5: trust that I can help him. That's number one. Do
[1:08:11] Speaker 5: you trust that I'm a good number two? Can you
[1:08:14] Speaker 5: give me the rock and not make faces when I
[1:08:17] Speaker 5: miss shots and shit?
[1:08:18] Speaker 4: That's the thing.
[1:08:18] Speaker 5: Like, you can't be on that bullshit with me.
[1:08:21] Speaker 1: When I'm getting my shit off.
[1:08:22] Speaker 4: That's where it went wrong. Like, when they gave it
[1:08:25] Speaker 4: to Sangoon and all, like, to win the game for him.
[1:08:27] Speaker 4: And he kept missing it.
[1:08:29] Speaker 5: He kept looking at that nigga like crazy.
[1:08:30] Speaker 2: He's like, man, y'all keep giving it to this fucking dumbo. Yeah.
[1:08:33] Speaker 2: And then you start.
[1:08:35] Speaker 4: I know Sangoon starts seeing it on.
[1:08:38] Speaker 1: Sending it to him. Check out, look at his face
[1:08:41] Speaker 1: when you shoot it.
[1:08:42] Speaker 2: Yep.
[1:08:43] Speaker 1: Now, D.
[1:08:43] Speaker 2: Wade wasn't doing that shit.
[1:08:45] Speaker 1: Wade knew.
[1:08:45] Speaker 3: You just said about LeBron, how LeBron went to Miami because,
[1:08:48] Speaker 3: you know, Wade was already established a champion. It's kind
[1:08:51] Speaker 3: of like the same with KD. He went to the Warriors.
[1:08:53] Speaker 3: They were already established champions.
[1:08:55] Speaker 1: Like, you know what I'm saying? So, like, I don't know.
[1:09:00] Speaker 1: over for KD.
[1:09:01] Speaker 5: They was like, KD, what do you need to feel comfortable?
[1:09:03] Speaker 5: What do you need? He's like, nah, just let me
[1:09:07] Speaker 5: fit in. He's like, no, nigga, we need you to
[1:09:09] Speaker 5: come in and do your thing. We don't need you
[1:09:11] Speaker 5: to trying to squeeze into a second seat, bro. You
[1:09:14] Speaker 5: got your own seat over here.
[1:09:15] Speaker 2: And then you got a lesser situation with them dudes want.
[1:09:20] Speaker 1: Brown went to Miami. They got a championship already. Dwayne
[1:09:22] Speaker 1: got a championship already.
[1:09:23] Speaker 2: KD go to Golden State. They got a championship already.
[1:09:26] Speaker 2: KD go to Houston.
[1:09:28] Speaker 5: Nigga, they done lost 200 games in.
[1:09:30] Speaker 2: The last two years.
[1:09:32] Speaker 1: Well, Brooklyn.
[1:09:32] Speaker 2: Right? But now coming off of this, he's still short.
[1:09:37] Speaker 1: That's KD.
[1:09:38] Speaker 2: That's KD. Let's see that team. Let's make him comfortable.
[1:09:43] Speaker 2: Not even.
[1:09:44] Speaker 1: Well, we got our go-to guy.
[1:09:46] Speaker 2: Yeah, but not even like consciously, subconsciously, right? The game
[1:09:51] Speaker 2: on the line, KD take the ball in his hand
[1:09:54] Speaker 2: with the game on the line now. You automatically going
[1:09:58] Speaker 2: to take a scoot over just because of the situation,
[1:10:01] Speaker 2: him being there. Because you're in your fourth year and
[1:10:04] Speaker 2: you're not established. He's established already, so your human nature
[1:10:08] Speaker 2: is like, and if.
[1:10:08] Speaker 5: You don't, everybody in the locker room, everybody around looking
[1:10:12] Speaker 5: at you like, what the fuck you on?
[1:10:14] Speaker 4: And you can see it.
[1:10:17] Speaker 1: Taking order. If Fred is there, is it a different story?
[1:10:20] Speaker 1: I think it helps, Angle. Oh, for sure.
[1:10:22] Speaker 2: I think it helps.
[1:10:22] Speaker 1: Does it? I think it helps him.
[1:10:23] Speaker 2: It helps everybody, I think. Because the ball is in
[1:10:25] Speaker 2: Fred's hand now and not. Okay. And Fred is getting
[1:10:28] Speaker 2: to determine where the ball is going later.
[1:10:30] Speaker 5: If you listen to Fred on these damn podcasts, Fred
[1:10:32] Speaker 5: look like he's sitting right in KD's pocket.
[1:10:34] Speaker 2: Okay.
[1:10:34] Speaker 1: Like, hey, listen, big fella, we're going to run through you.
[1:10:37] Speaker 1: We're going to do what you need to do. When
[1:10:39] Speaker 1: Fred out there, I mean, Fred can shoot that thing, too.
[1:10:43] Speaker 2: He understands, I think, well, this is what I saw
[1:10:46] Speaker 2: of him, I think. I think he understands time, score, situation,
[1:10:50] Speaker 2: all of those things in order when the guy, like,
[1:10:53] Speaker 2: from him winning in Toronto. I think that's what I
[1:10:57] Speaker 2: remember him doing. So, I think it helps. I think
[1:11:01] Speaker 2: it helps. But him not being a definitely... push Sangoon to, like,
[1:11:08] Speaker 2: not a one and a one.
[1:11:09] Speaker 1: This is one.
[1:11:10] Speaker 2: Kevin Durant is one. He has clearly moved to the
[1:11:13] Speaker 2: two spots.
[1:11:14] Speaker 5: But does he have to be on the floor for
[1:11:16] Speaker 5: him still to be able to affect how y'all get
[1:11:18] Speaker 5: together and how y'all get along?
[1:11:20] Speaker 1: Absolutely.
[1:11:21] Speaker 3: Yeah, because I feel like last year when he was
[1:11:23] Speaker 3: getting off, you got.
[1:11:24] Speaker 1: To think about the players that was out there with him. Remember,
[1:11:27] Speaker 1: he was out there with Dylan.
[1:11:27] Speaker 3: He was out there with Jalen Green, so it was different.
[1:11:31] Speaker 1: The setting is different.
[1:11:32] Speaker 3: Now, you don't have those guards that can score slashers.
[1:11:37] Speaker 3: Everybody's out there just throwing the bricks. And Fred can.
[1:11:39] Speaker 1: Say all that shit he want, right?
[1:11:41] Speaker 2: Fred can say all that shit he want, but when
[1:11:43] Speaker 2: this motherfucking thing here get involved, and he on the sideline.
[1:11:50] Speaker 7: But KD ain't never played with a big likes and
[1:11:52] Speaker 7: goons before.
[1:11:53] Speaker 1: But KD got to be a leader, too. KD, you
[1:11:57] Speaker 1: got to step up.
[1:11:58] Speaker 2: Trying to adjust?
[1:12:00] Speaker 1: No, you can't do that.
[1:12:01] Speaker 5: Because you're playing with a good big that can give
[1:12:02] Speaker 5: you 20 and 10, right? You ain't never really played
[1:12:05] Speaker 5: with a 20 and 10 big. That's your sole second option.
[1:12:08] Speaker 5: So now you're like, all right. You had Bradley Bill,
[1:12:11] Speaker 5: Devin Booker. You had Kyrie Irving, James Harden. You had
[1:12:14] Speaker 5: Steph Curry, Klay Thompson. These are all guards you can
[1:12:16] Speaker 5: depend on. You know how they're going to play.
[1:12:18] Speaker 2: But this big, how am I going to feed off him?
[1:12:21] Speaker 5: And I know I've got to slow the game down.
[1:12:23] Speaker 5: I've got to give him the ball. I've got to
[1:12:25] Speaker 5: pick and roll. Do a bunch of shit that ain't fast.
[1:12:27] Speaker 5: It's an adjustment for him.
[1:12:29] Speaker 2: It is.
[1:12:30] Speaker 5: So it's like, what adjustments do I make as a
[1:12:32] Speaker 5: player that benefits him to make him better? I don't
[1:12:36] Speaker 5: think KD made those adjustments. I think he came in,
[1:12:39] Speaker 5: he going to do what he do.
[1:12:40] Speaker 4: That's what I'm saying. He got to be a leader, brother.
[1:12:42] Speaker 4: He got to change that. I just want the hoops.
[1:12:45] Speaker 1: I just want to.
[1:12:45] Speaker 5: Come in and get my buckets and get my 26.
[1:12:47] Speaker 5: Let me get my percentages. You got to be more...
[1:12:49] Speaker 5: You got to give niggas confidence.
[1:12:51] Speaker 1: Like Ant-Man didn't even go bird. Thank you.
[1:13:00] Speaker 2: I'm confident.
[1:13:01] Speaker 1: Yeah. All right, well, we were fine.
[1:13:04] Speaker 2: Yeah. But at this juncture, man, it's.
[1:13:06] Speaker 1: You can't be... You got to rally around. He young.
[1:13:08] Speaker 2: You got to bring him in.
[1:13:09] Speaker 4: You can't be having, hearing Burner and Kelson shit.
[1:13:13] Speaker 1: Talking about it. If you did, you should say something.
[1:13:15] Speaker 1: Because if that was wrong, they'd be killing me.
[1:13:17] Speaker 2: They'd kill you. You got to say something.
[1:13:18] Speaker 1: They'd be killing you.
[1:13:18] Speaker 4: Like, come out and say, hell, I ain't me.
[1:13:20] Speaker 1: Sangoon, I want to get this.
[1:13:21] Speaker 2: That's my man.
[1:13:22] Speaker 1: Yeah, we cool.
[1:13:23] Speaker 2: Take him to dinner.
[1:13:24] Speaker 1: Get him some work. Nah, watch out. Nah, watch out.
[1:13:26] Speaker 1: Y'all ass. Everybody appreciate that.
[1:13:28] Speaker 2: But look at him say none of that.
[1:13:29] Speaker 1: He just, I'm not paying attention to that. Right.
[1:13:32] Speaker 2: He didn't squash none of the bullshit.
[1:13:35] Speaker 5: So if you a teammate, I'm literally like, hey, man,
[1:13:37] Speaker 5: you ain't even say sorry or nothing.
[1:13:39] Speaker 1: Nah, because you see why when I sit down? I
[1:13:41] Speaker 1: told y'all, y'all ass. Look at y'all.
[1:13:45] Speaker 4: I think it's too confident over here.
[1:13:48] Speaker 1: Y'all not passing me the ball. We will find out
[1:13:51] Speaker 1: what happens in game two tonight. As a reminder, they'll
[1:13:53] Speaker 1: be doing a Twitch party on the Gills Arena Twitch channel.
[1:13:58] Speaker 1: I'll be at the game. I'll be taking notes. Oh,
[1:14:01] Speaker 1: you're going to the game? You don't have to go
[1:14:03] Speaker 1: check out these Lakers games going down. We got our
[1:14:06] Speaker 1: Lakers Rockets watch party starting at 10, 15 p.m. Eastern.
[1:14:10] Speaker 1: That's 7, 15 p.m. Pacific time.
[1:14:12] Speaker 2: 10, 15.
[1:14:12] Speaker 1: Yeah.
[1:14:13] Speaker 5: Huh?
[1:14:13] Speaker 2: 10-15. What?
[1:14:14] Speaker 5: What's your son's name?
[1:14:16] Speaker 1: What's your son's name? I don't know. Nick George.
[1:14:19] Speaker 2: 10-15. We could coach together.
[1:14:22] Speaker 1: Probably. Well, let's keep this thing moving. It's tax season. Sure.

[1:15:28] Speaker 1: That was good. Thank you, Kickoff, for blessing us. All right,
[1:15:32] Speaker 1: let's stay in the Western Conference. Spurs back in the
[1:15:34] Speaker 1: postseason for the first time since 2019. They had game
[1:15:38] Speaker 1: one against the Blazers. Each player pulled up to the
[1:15:40] Speaker 1: arena in a tailored black suit, courtesy of Kelly Olenek,
[1:15:44] Speaker 1: who gifted each of his teammates with one to celebrate
[1:15:46] Speaker 1: his 35th birthday. Blazers secured the seventh seed with a
[1:15:50] Speaker 1: road win over the Suns in the play-in. So Spurs'
[1:15:53] Speaker 1: former number one picks and Hall of Famers David Robinson
[1:15:56] Speaker 1: and Tim Duncan were in the building, and Winby did
[1:15:59] Speaker 1: not disappoint in his first career playoff game, adding another
[1:16:02] Speaker 1: historic performance to his resume. Let's take a look at
[1:16:05] Speaker 1: the highlights if we can, please. French Phenom scored 21
[1:16:08] Speaker 1: points in the first half, the best scoring first half
[1:16:11] Speaker 1: of a post-season debut in the play-by-play era. Wimby finished
[1:16:16] Speaker 1: the game. That's a goddamn carry, man.
[1:16:20] Speaker 5: Yep, carry that motherfucker all the way to the basket. Yo,
[1:16:25] Speaker 5: I'm watching that shit live. I'm like, come on, y'all.
[1:16:27] Speaker 7: Man, carry that motherfucker right to the basket.
[1:16:30] Speaker 1: Spurred, festive, rocking the playoff-issued shirts of a multitude of colors.
[1:16:36] Speaker 1: I'm here. Hey, man. Joseph in the amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.
[1:16:39] Speaker 1: Wimby finished the game with 35 points on 13-21 shooting.
[1:16:44] Speaker 1: He was 5 for 6 from 3 to 35 points
[1:16:46] Speaker 1: the most in Spurs franchise history for a player in
[1:16:50] Speaker 1: their first postseason game. Wimby's 35 surpassed Tim Duncan's previous
[1:16:54] Speaker 1: record of 32 back in 1998. De'Aaron Fox and Stephon
[1:16:58] Speaker 1: Castle both had 17, also combined for 15 assists. Devin
[1:17:03] Speaker 1: Vassell added 15 as well. Danny Abdi also balled out
[1:17:07] Speaker 1: in this playoff debut 30 points, 10 boards, and 5 assists.
[1:17:10] Speaker 1: Scoot Henderson had 18 on 7-11 shooting. Spurs defense held
[1:17:14] Speaker 1: the Blazers to 10 for 38 from 3, just 26%.
[1:17:19] Speaker 1: So after the game, Wimby was asked if he feels
[1:17:21] Speaker 1: the weight of following in the footsteps of Tim Duncan
[1:17:24] Speaker 1: and David Robinson and had this response. I wouldn't say weight, no.
[1:17:29] Speaker 1: I would say it feels safe. It feels like If
[1:17:34] Speaker 1: you trip, you know, there's a lot of hands that
[1:17:37] Speaker 1: are ready to catch you. So from day one, it
[1:17:42] Speaker 1: felt that way. If you fall, you got somebody who's
[1:17:46] Speaker 1: going to pick your punk ass up. Shia, let's start
[1:17:50] Speaker 1: with you. Wimby fan. One of your favorite players in
[1:17:54] Speaker 1: the league. Been very high on Wimby. Think you should
[1:17:56] Speaker 1: have won the MVP. Is a finalist for the most
[1:17:59] Speaker 1: valuable player this season. What statement did Wimby make in
[1:18:02] Speaker 1: his first career playoff game? That I'm not from here.
[1:18:08] Speaker 5: Take notice from day one that he got into the
[1:18:11] Speaker 5: league from when I seen him with the Meta 92
[1:18:13] Speaker 5: jersey on. Going up against Scoot, I knew he was special.
[1:18:18] Speaker 5: But I think this particular statement is to let everybody know, like,
[1:18:23] Speaker 5: he's not only the strong survive in his element. Like,
[1:18:29] Speaker 5: he's not here to play no games. And I think
[1:18:31] Speaker 5: that particularly with this team, Portland, They didn't really have
[1:18:37] Speaker 5: no answers for him because he refused to let them
[1:18:41] Speaker 5: off the hook. And I think Mitch put him in
[1:18:44] Speaker 5: a lot of different positions where he can expose their
[1:18:47] Speaker 5: defense and take advantage of different mismatches. He's being aggressive
[1:18:51] Speaker 5: in the fast break opportunities. He didn't rebound as much
[1:18:55] Speaker 5: as he should have. But to me, it's like, you know,
[1:18:57] Speaker 5: when people say, oh, he's going to be tired and
[1:19:00] Speaker 5: we took the wrong road when it comes to we
[1:19:03] Speaker 5: could have did this and made it a lot easier.
[1:19:06] Speaker 5: And I think that if that's him being pushed to
[1:19:08] Speaker 5: the limit and being tired, I think we'll take it.
[1:19:11] Speaker 7: We'll take that. We'll take that. Like, Cleon, you going
[1:19:14] Speaker 7: to make us work, please?
[1:19:15] Speaker 1: Work for what?
[1:19:16] Speaker 2: All right, cool. All right, listen.
[1:19:19] Speaker 5: Rudy, you make him work. By the time he reach us,
[1:19:21] Speaker 5: we're going to see who's going to gas out. We're
[1:19:24] Speaker 5: going to see who's got the energy. I'm still 22.
[1:19:26] Speaker 5: I'm still going to do what I do. And I
[1:19:29] Speaker 5: think every game is going to be another statement game.
[1:19:31] Speaker 7: Regardless if he has 35 or 22.
[1:19:34] Speaker 5: It's going to be him affecting the game in some shape, way,
[1:19:37] Speaker 5: or fashion that's going to help that team win.
[1:19:40] Speaker 2: I think he's realized that.
[1:19:41] Speaker 5: And he got David Robinson and Tim Duncan to be
[1:19:43] Speaker 5: able to give him some type of advice and playoff
[1:19:47] Speaker 5: atmosphere and how to approach a game in different scenarios.
[1:19:51] Speaker 5: And we're still not seeing San Antonio Spurs go through him.
[1:19:55] Speaker 1: He's still just.
[1:19:56] Speaker 5: Playing the game where he's finding it and he's letting
[1:19:58] Speaker 5: the game come to him. So it's beautiful to watch.
[1:20:01] Speaker 5: It's beautiful to see him flourish in these opportunities. First
[1:20:04] Speaker 5: playoff game, everybody was saying, we don't know what he's
[1:20:07] Speaker 5: going to do.
[1:20:07] Speaker 1: We don't know. Now we know.
[1:20:09] Speaker 2: Now we know.
[1:20:09] Speaker 1: Worst nightmare. These are real blades, too.
[1:20:14] Speaker 2: One, two.
[1:20:14] Speaker 1: Wimby's coming for you. Those are real?
[1:20:20] Speaker 2: You going to find out?
[1:20:23] Speaker 1: Sick man.
[1:20:28] Speaker 2: Let's go.
[1:20:30] Speaker 1: Can you let's shift over to you. Wimby, 35 points,
[1:20:33] Speaker 1: Spurs franchise record for a player in their postseason debut,
[1:20:37] Speaker 1: surpassing Tim Duncan, also number one pick, Hall of Famer.
[1:20:40] Speaker 1: David Robinson, also in the building, number one pick, Hall
[1:20:44] Speaker 1: of Famer. To watch Wimby, what statement did Wimby make
[1:20:48] Speaker 1: in his first career playoff game?
[1:20:51] Speaker 2: That I'm better than y'all.
[1:20:55] Speaker 1: Oh.
[1:20:56] Speaker 2: Yeah, this is going, like Portland doesn't have, can't do
[1:21:00] Speaker 2: nothing with Wimby. He's not agile enough. He's an able
[1:21:03] Speaker 2: body because of his size. If it was a different
[1:21:08] Speaker 2: game being played, he would be more effective against Wimby,
[1:21:12] Speaker 2: but this is a different NBA where you have to
[1:21:14] Speaker 2: move your feet, and Wimby is displaying that so far
[1:21:18] Speaker 2: in game one. Yeah, no, I mean, he's going to
[1:21:21] Speaker 2: have a hell of a series this series. And however
[1:21:25] Speaker 2: long the playoffs does last for them, he's going to
[1:21:28] Speaker 2: do what he does. Young, hungry, talented young man that's
[1:21:36] Speaker 2: eager to prove himself to the league and to the
[1:21:39] Speaker 2: Spurs that they didn't make a mistake. To your point,
[1:21:43] Speaker 2: following in the footsteps of Tim and David, I'm next
[1:21:48] Speaker 2: in line for this organization. Great young big, so... Yeah,
[1:21:54] Speaker 2: for him to come out and put up 35 in
[1:21:55] Speaker 2: his first playoff game, I'm not surprised. Made a few
[1:22:00] Speaker 2: moves off the bounce that I was thoroughly impressed with.
[1:22:07] Speaker 2: The shot off the glass going left, that move was nice.
[1:22:12] Speaker 2: Like I said, the one at the top of the key,
[1:22:14] Speaker 2: damn sure picked the ball up and spin dribble, had
[1:22:17] Speaker 2: that bitch like this. But other than that, man, he
[1:22:22] Speaker 2: had a good game. the rebounds are going to come.
[1:22:26] Speaker 2: I'm not worried that he only had five. They won yet.
[1:22:28] Speaker 2: So yeah, he's going to affect the game, whether it's
[1:22:31] Speaker 2: rebounding defensively, blocking shots, defensively or scoring, he's going to
[1:22:35] Speaker 2: affect the game to Charles point. Um, man, I'm excited
[1:22:39] Speaker 2: to see how he builds on game one, right? What
[1:22:43] Speaker 2: did he learn from game one to take in the
[1:22:45] Speaker 2: game too? And throughout this series, however, um, however, however
[1:22:50] Speaker 2: long it does last, um, I'm excited to see how
[1:22:53] Speaker 2: he grows from game to game and from series to series.
[1:22:55] Speaker 2: So let's see.
[1:22:56] Speaker 1: Let's move on to you, Mr. B. So, Wimby, 21
[1:22:59] Speaker 1: points in the first half, the best-scoring first half of
[1:23:02] Speaker 1: a postseason debut in the play-by-play era. Do you remember
[1:23:05] Speaker 1: how many points you had in the first half of
[1:23:07] Speaker 1: your first playoff game?
[1:23:08] Speaker 2: 20.
[1:23:09] Speaker 1: Okay, so, Wimby, one more point. You and Kyrie, I believe,
[1:23:12] Speaker 1: both had 20 points in the first half of your
[1:23:14] Speaker 1: postseason debut. Wimby, 35 points in the game, first franchise
[1:23:18] Speaker 1: record for playing their debut. What statement did Victor Wimby-Yama make?
[1:23:21] Speaker 1: in his first career playoff game?
[1:23:23] Speaker 3: Well, I mean, first time being there, of course you
[1:23:26] Speaker 3: want to come out with a bang, and he did.
[1:23:28] Speaker 3: Knowing that it's just the trailblazers, it doesn't matter.
[1:23:32] Speaker 6: It's the playoffs.
[1:23:34] Speaker 3: But like what Kenan said, though, I mean, you know,
[1:23:36] Speaker 3: I'm really eager to see what happens now. After this
[1:23:39] Speaker 3: first game, you got the jitters out, you know, see
[1:23:42] Speaker 3: how he still progresses through the series because the next
[1:23:44] Speaker 3: series is going to be harder for them. I can
[1:23:49] Speaker 3: see them getting the blazers out in four. So this
[1:23:51] Speaker 3: is not something that's going to be long. And this
[1:23:54] Speaker 3: is one where he could just go get his numbers
[1:23:56] Speaker 3: right now. Go get his numbers because they have no
[1:23:58] Speaker 3: answer for him. I mean, if they try to put
[1:24:00] Speaker 3: two or three guys on, it don't matter. He got
[1:24:02] Speaker 3: Fox and all these other guys that can go. So, yeah, Portland,
[1:24:06] Speaker 3: thank you just for showing up. I mean, you know,
[1:24:08] Speaker 3: they needed an easy first round, and they got it.
[1:24:12] Speaker 1: Both teams lack sufficient playoff experience. I want to say
[1:24:15] Speaker 1: Drew Holiday, the only Blazer starter. Playoff experience. De'Aaron Fox,
[1:24:19] Speaker 1: I believe, the only Spurs starter. I think it's good
[1:24:22] Speaker 1: for them.
[1:24:22] Speaker 4: I think this was the best thing that could have
[1:24:25] Speaker 4: happened for the Spurs, for them to play a team
[1:24:27] Speaker 4: that could give them confidence in their first playoff run
[1:24:31] Speaker 4: going into the next round. Because confidence could take you
[1:24:36] Speaker 4: to the finals, man. All you need is that one spark,
[1:24:39] Speaker 4: that feeling like, oh, we could really do this. And
[1:24:42] Speaker 4: when we showed that, and I like the fact that
[1:24:44] Speaker 4: the Spurs are giving him his own Spurs. They're not
[1:24:47] Speaker 4: trying to drown the old Spurs on them. Like that floor,
[1:24:52] Speaker 4: the crowd, that shit look hard. I didn't, you know,
[1:24:55] Speaker 4: it looked like they were trying to add some.
[1:24:56] Speaker 2: Swag to it.
[1:24:56] Speaker 1: The post-game celebration orchestrated by Wimby beating the drum?
[1:24:59] Speaker 4: They letting him be him, man. But they're there to,
[1:25:03] Speaker 4: you know, guide him and stuff along the way. And
[1:25:05] Speaker 4: that's dope, man. I love the fact that Wimby came
[1:25:08] Speaker 4: out with, played the way he played.
[1:25:10] Speaker 1: With confidence and keep shooting.
[1:25:12] Speaker 4: But I was just waiting for that game where them
[1:25:16] Speaker 4: shots not going in and they still got to pull
[1:25:19] Speaker 4: it off and things not going right.
[1:25:20] Speaker 1: Everything was going right for them that game.
[1:25:22] Speaker 4: And for a young player, for young players, that's good.
[1:25:26] Speaker 4: You know, you're on the high, you're laughing, high-fiving, cheering,
[1:25:30] Speaker 4: everything is good. But they need that game where them
[1:25:34] Speaker 4: shots are not going in and they still pull it
[1:25:36] Speaker 4: off for sure.
[1:25:38] Speaker 2: There was a play that happened, and I don't know
[1:25:39] Speaker 2: why they don't. They have done it. They need to
[1:25:42] Speaker 2: implement it. If you ever switch a small on him. Yeah.
[1:25:47] Speaker 2: Just do what they do. Hey, wait a minute. Go
[1:25:48] Speaker 2: to the front of the rim, dog. Was that the
[1:25:50] Speaker 2: live play?
[1:25:51] Speaker 1: Yeah. Yeah, he didn't even jump, really.
[1:25:53] Speaker 2: Hey, you switch a small on me. We're going to implement.
[1:25:57] Speaker 2: I don't know what you need to call it. One,
[1:25:59] Speaker 2: whatever you want to call it. Put a number on it.
[1:26:02] Speaker 2: They switch a small on him. Go stand in front
[1:26:04] Speaker 2: of him. Go to the front of the rim.
[1:26:06] Speaker 1: Let's walk through that, though. Jesus Christ.
[1:26:08] Speaker 2: Let's walk through that, though.
[1:26:10] Speaker 5: This is a perfect segue, too, because you talk about
[1:26:13] Speaker 5: that play particularly.
[1:26:14] Speaker 1: Yes.
[1:26:15] Speaker 2: What are we running, right?
[1:26:17] Speaker 5: Where we going to warrant that to be your adjustment defensively, right?
[1:26:21] Speaker 5: But that's an invert on the backside. If you on
[1:26:24] Speaker 5: the box, right? And I'm in the pick and roll
[1:26:27] Speaker 5: with Klingham, right? Klingham switch on to me and I'm
[1:26:30] Speaker 5: kind of doing my Jamal Murray down to the elbow.
[1:26:34] Speaker 2: Wimby's going down.
[1:26:35] Speaker 5: First of all, we need to bump him at the
[1:26:37] Speaker 5: Vucca Frito line, right? And then we might need to
[1:26:40] Speaker 5: switch that because the invert is Kenyon's down there waiting
[1:26:44] Speaker 5: for him to roll to him. But what we giving up?
[1:26:47] Speaker 5: We giving up that corner pass. Now it's depending on
[1:26:50] Speaker 5: who's in that corner pass. Is it Champagny? Is it
[1:26:54] Speaker 5: Harrison Barnes? Or is it a non-shooter? Is it Castle?
[1:26:59] Speaker 5: Is it Carter Bryant?
[1:27:00] Speaker 1: Guess what? We got to change the way we're doing it.
[1:27:04] Speaker 2: That's 37, 38, 39% tops.
[1:27:04] Speaker 1: 100%.
[1:27:04] Speaker 2: Guess what? Him at the front of the rim? 90%.
[1:27:09] Speaker 1: 95, 100%.
[1:27:14] Speaker 2: Throw it up there. Throw that bitch over there.
[1:27:16] Speaker 5: But what is our defense saying if we not preparing
[1:27:19] Speaker 5: for that? It happens fast. The action happens fast. Pick
[1:27:22] Speaker 5: and roll, pick and roll, slide, go to the rim.
[1:27:24] Speaker 2: It's Wimby.
[1:27:26] Speaker 5: Defensively, what the fuck are y'all doing on the weak side?
[1:27:29] Speaker 5: You got to bump that and force that. I'm taking,
[1:27:31] Speaker 5: like you just said, 35%, 37%, 38%. I'm taking that
[1:27:34] Speaker 5: over 190%.
[1:27:35] Speaker 1: Yes.
[1:27:36] Speaker 5: Wimby, like, that's coaching. It's ABCs. It's checkers now. What
[1:27:41] Speaker 5: are we giving up? If we got a chance to
[1:27:43] Speaker 5: win this game... Corner Denny Avia had 30 plus you
[1:27:48] Speaker 5: got to have somebody else on your roster.
[1:27:50] Speaker 2: That's giving you some bucket. Yeah, you know, I know
[1:27:53] Speaker 2: they lost and Portland lost the game. I like what
[1:27:59] Speaker 2: I saw to scoot Henderson dog who look good. The
[1:28:02] Speaker 2: fact that he's not selling for three like the threes
[1:28:04] Speaker 2: are there for him to take he's shooting that one
[1:28:06] Speaker 2: dribble pull-up dog and I like it. I like how
[1:28:10] Speaker 2: Scoot played the other day. I like Scoot.
[1:28:12] Speaker 1: Been in that draft. It's the worst thing that happened
[1:28:15] Speaker 1: to him. Poo Jedder over there with him. He can't
[1:28:16] Speaker 1: be in.
[1:28:16] Speaker 4: That draft with a win being you.
[1:28:19] Speaker 2: Pull up jumpers.
[1:28:19] Speaker 6: There's too much pressure on him.
[1:28:22] Speaker 1: It looked like the pressure was on. Why is there pressure?
[1:28:24] Speaker 7: Because he's the number two pick. Number three?
[1:28:28] Speaker 1: Yeah, if I'm not mistaken. Yeah, and another thing. It
[1:28:31] Speaker 1: was two. I thought it was two. Yeah, it was two.
[1:28:34] Speaker 2: I know Portland made the playoffs this year, and Tiago
[1:28:36] Speaker 2: Splinter is coaching them. but I don't want my, my
[1:28:40] Speaker 2: man to get lost in that. He built the foundation
[1:28:42] Speaker 2: over there, dog.
[1:28:43] Speaker 1: It was two? Three.
[1:28:44] Speaker 2: Chauncey built the foundation over there. Brandon Miller. Brandon Miller. Okay.
[1:28:49] Speaker 1: Chauncey did build that foundation.
[1:28:50] Speaker 2: Chauncey built the foundation over there. I know they got
[1:28:52] Speaker 2: in now with Tiago running the helm, yes.
[1:28:54] Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah.
[1:28:55] Speaker 2: But shout out to Big Shot, man. I don't want
[1:28:57] Speaker 2: Chauncey to get lost. I know he got a lot
[1:28:58] Speaker 2: going on outside of the game right now, which is
[1:29:01] Speaker 2: more important. But Chauncey built that foundation on how they
[1:29:06] Speaker 2: were starting to trend to play at the end of
[1:29:08] Speaker 2: last year. So I just want to give Chauncey his flowers, man.
[1:29:13] Speaker 2: He fucking needs some positive shit going on for him
[1:29:15] Speaker 2: right now, man. To see them guys playing the way
[1:29:18] Speaker 2: they are playing and him instilling certain morals and them
[1:29:23] Speaker 2: draft in school when he was there and certain players
[1:29:25] Speaker 2: that have played up under him, man, I just want
[1:29:27] Speaker 2: to give Sean some love right now, man, because it
[1:29:30] Speaker 2: has to be in a tough spot for him personally.
[1:29:33] Speaker 2: Seeing this team not competing in the playoffs and you're
[1:29:35] Speaker 2: not able to be there on the sidelines.
[1:29:37] Speaker 1: But is there, like you're saying, though, to be able
[1:29:39] Speaker 1: to watch the team, the framework? Yeah, they look different.
[1:29:42] Speaker 1: Watch y'all go split or step up.
[1:29:44] Speaker 2: We'll give them love, but the team look different.
[1:29:46] Speaker 1: But when that situation first went down, I think we
[1:29:48] Speaker 1: all rode off the Blazers. Yeah.
[1:29:50] Speaker 2: The only thing I like. They were still staying steady
[1:29:54] Speaker 2: from all season. But to get in at eight, man,
[1:29:56] Speaker 2: get in at seven, I'm cool.
[1:29:58] Speaker 4: They fucking tore down the middle of the year. They
[1:30:01] Speaker 4: tore down.
[1:30:03] Speaker 2: Yeah, like I was saying, I want to give Chon
[1:30:05] Speaker 2: some love, man, in this situation.
[1:30:08] Speaker 1: So, but to your point, I can't scoot Henderson stepping
[1:30:12] Speaker 1: up 18.7, 11 shooting Danny, I'll be at 30, 10
[1:30:14] Speaker 1: and five, 12 for 21 from the field. Drew Holiday though,
[1:30:16] Speaker 1: four for 15, nine points. They'd have 11 assists in
[1:30:20] Speaker 1: the game.
[1:30:20] Speaker 5: Well, Drew can't be your tough third when you got
[1:30:22] Speaker 5: Jeremy Grant out there and you got Shane Sharp who
[1:30:26] Speaker 5: should be getting buckets. These are two guys who got
[1:30:29] Speaker 5: to show up. I don't know if it's show up
[1:30:31] Speaker 5: or give them the opportunity. No, Shaden Sharpe should be
[1:30:34] Speaker 5: number two. I'm saying as far as the coaching is
[1:30:37] Speaker 5: being able to throw them into the loop of what's
[1:30:40] Speaker 5: going on.
[1:30:41] Speaker 1: I feel like Scoot went and got his. He's like,
[1:30:44] Speaker 1: I'm going to go get this.
[1:30:45] Speaker 3: They're young, too, so he can keep up with them.
[1:30:47] Speaker 7: He can definitely keep up.
[1:30:48] Speaker 5: When you look at Drew Holiday, I feel like Drew
[1:30:50] Speaker 5: was trying.
[1:30:53] Speaker 1: He was trying to do more. Okay.
[1:30:55] Speaker 5: And that affects Jeremy, and that affects Shaden, and the coach.
[1:30:59] Speaker 5: The coach is probably thinking, let's figure out what Drew
[1:31:02] Speaker 5: can do for us. Drew's taking them shots. But you
[1:31:04] Speaker 5: know Drew is not out.
[1:31:05] Speaker 1: He's not out there.
[1:31:06] Speaker 3: That's the same conversation we just had the other day, though.
[1:31:09] Speaker 1: That's the same conversation we just had.
[1:31:11] Speaker 2: The other day about the Milwaukee winning situation, right? If
[1:31:14] Speaker 2: Drew's making shots, great. But he's not there solely on that.
[1:31:19] Speaker 5: But we need those guys who can do what Drew
[1:31:22] Speaker 5: can't do to step up and do it so he
[1:31:24] Speaker 5: don't have to.
[1:31:24] Speaker 1: True, absolutely.
[1:31:25] Speaker 5: He feeling like, I got to do this based on
[1:31:28] Speaker 5: y'all not doing it. He shouldn't be taking 19 shots.
[1:31:32] Speaker 5: I think it's better for him 11, 10, 11 shots
[1:31:34] Speaker 5: and being more efficient.
[1:31:36] Speaker 1: That's better for the team.
[1:31:38] Speaker 2: More facilitated.
[1:31:39] Speaker 1: Yes. I dig it.
[1:31:40] Speaker 7: And he got to go what we were saying before.
[1:31:42] Speaker 5: If you're the facilitator, you go into the game knowing
[1:31:45] Speaker 5: who needs the shots. Let me get him some shots.
[1:31:48] Speaker 5: Let me get him going.
[1:31:50] Speaker 2: I shouldn't take 19. You shouldn't take 19.
[1:31:51] Speaker 1: I got you. No, especially with them young boys over
[1:31:54] Speaker 1: there with the Spurs. That's a different, like, you know. Drew,
[1:31:58] Speaker 1: he not young no more, so them dudes that are.
[1:32:00] Speaker 3: Under 25 years old, they going to make his ass work.
[1:32:04] Speaker 2: He's doing other things, though, defensively that I'm watching and plugging.
[1:32:08] Speaker 1: No, that's fine. They have 11 assists in the game.
[1:32:10] Speaker 1: So he's doing that shit, right? For sure. But 19
[1:32:12] Speaker 1: shots is a lot. Casting them on his ass. They
[1:32:18] Speaker 1: on his ass. They on his ass.
[1:32:20] Speaker 2: They not letting that shit.
[1:32:22] Speaker 1: Young and athletic.
[1:32:23] Speaker 2: No, we do.
[1:32:24] Speaker 1: No, we just saying. 19, Drew, is too much. No,
[1:32:26] Speaker 1: for this matchup with the Young Spurs.
[1:32:29] Speaker 3: No, with this matchup with the Young Spurs, it's going
[1:32:31] Speaker 3: to be tough, bro.
[1:32:32] Speaker 1: Like, they not.
[1:32:33] Speaker 5: Young and athletic, man. That's what we want as the Spurs.
[1:32:35] Speaker 5: We want Drew taking that challenge. Like, oh, yeah, I'm
[1:32:38] Speaker 5: going to show y'all I can be Drew. And it's like,
[1:32:41] Speaker 5: not this serious, bro.
[1:32:42] Speaker 2: Just be Drew.
[1:32:43] Speaker 1: Get the other guys involved. How y'all got here? Let's
[1:32:46] Speaker 1: scooping them. Let's scooping them run. That's going to be
[1:32:48] Speaker 1: a race. So let's shift back to Wimby. So back
[1:32:52] Speaker 1: in March, while stating his MVP case, Wimby said, I
[1:32:55] Speaker 1: believe I'm the most impactful player defensively in the league.
[1:32:59] Speaker 1: And the Square Media confirmed that statement Monday. League announced
[1:33:03] Speaker 1: Wimby is the first unanimous defensive player of the year
[1:33:07] Speaker 1: winner since the awards inception in the 82-83 season. Let's
[1:33:12] Speaker 1: take a look at the voting, if we can. Also
[1:33:14] Speaker 1: the youngest player in league history to win the award.
[1:33:18] Speaker 1: Alien received all 100 first place votes, Chet Holmgren finishing second,
[1:33:24] Speaker 1: and Azura Thompson taking third place. Is Rudy, where is he? Okay,
[1:33:29] Speaker 1: Rudy Gobert came in fourth.
[1:33:30] Speaker 2: So that's crazy.
[1:33:32] Speaker 1: So Wimby led the league in total blocks and blocks
[1:33:34] Speaker 1: per game this season. Spurs allowed 10.2 fewer points per
[1:33:39] Speaker 1: 100 possessions with him on the floor. Opponents shot 40.7%
[1:33:44] Speaker 1: when he was the closest defender best in the league
[1:33:47] Speaker 1: among players who contested at least 500 shots this season.
[1:33:51] Speaker 1: We've got to take it to our defensive expert on
[1:33:53] Speaker 1: the couch, Canyon. What are your thoughts on Wimby becoming
[1:33:55] Speaker 1: the first unanimous defensive player of the year, the greatest
[1:33:59] Speaker 1: defensive season in NBA history according to the Square Media vote?
[1:34:03] Speaker 1: Which is crazy. The greatest defensive season in NBA history.
[1:34:05] Speaker 2: Shout out to Wim for getting his award back from
[1:34:10] Speaker 2: last year. So the guy that came in fourth, right?
[1:34:14] Speaker 2: What'd he do different? You was doing well, Kenyon.
[1:34:16] Speaker 1: No, what'd he do different? You was doing well.
[1:34:18] Speaker 2: No, no, no, I got a question.
[1:34:19] Speaker 1: You started the show good.
[1:34:20] Speaker 2: No, what'd he do different? What did the guy in
[1:34:22] Speaker 2: fourth do differently that he didn't do?
[1:34:24] Speaker 5: Oh, the other guy in number one did a lot
[1:34:27] Speaker 5: more than what he did.
[1:34:28] Speaker 1: He can't do the same shit.
[1:34:29] Speaker 2: What did he do last year, though?
[1:34:30] Speaker 1: The guy in one right here. The guy in one
[1:34:32] Speaker 1: right here.
[1:34:34] Speaker 2: He didn't play the whole year.
[1:34:35] Speaker 1: Did not qualify? Last year?
[1:34:36] Speaker 5: Yeah.
[1:34:36] Speaker 1: Did not reach the sufficient amount of games?
[1:34:38] Speaker 2: Technically, he didn't play 65 this year, neither, but we're
[1:34:41] Speaker 2: not going to.
[1:34:42] Speaker 1: He did. Four plus the NBA Cup championship. I do
[1:34:44] Speaker 1: not make the rules. No, shout out to Mr.
[1:34:47] Speaker 2: Victor, but it's crazy that it's unanimous. Victor and Rudy.
[1:34:52] Speaker 4: It's like French kissing.
[1:34:55] Speaker 2: We French kissing. Like unanimous.
[1:34:58] Speaker 1: The greatest defensive season in NBA history according to the voters.
[1:35:03] Speaker 1: 100 unanimous first place.
[1:35:05] Speaker 2: Same as Steph.
[1:35:06] Speaker 1: Same as Steph.
[1:35:08] Speaker 7: The same shit they was saying with Steph.
[1:35:10] Speaker 1: I mean, next year is going to be the same thing.
[1:35:12] Speaker 2: Yeah, unanimous. Who had the individual?
[1:35:14] Speaker 1: Say it again. I can't say it.
[1:35:16] Speaker 2: You can say it. Unanimous. Yeah, that's it.
[1:35:18] Speaker 1: Unanimous. Yeah.
[1:35:19] Speaker 2: Unanimous.
[1:35:19] Speaker 1: I think only him. Leave it alone. Wait, no.
[1:35:21] Speaker 2: Say it again.
[1:35:22] Speaker 1: Leave it alone.
[1:35:22] Speaker 2: Unanimous.
[1:35:23] Speaker 1: There you go. That's it.
[1:35:25] Speaker 2: Unanimous. It don't even sound. Why it don't sound right
[1:35:28] Speaker 2: to me?
[1:35:28] Speaker 1: Because you don't say shit that sound right. Normal.
[1:35:33] Speaker 5: So it's like it don't feel right.
[1:35:35] Speaker 1: Hold on.
[1:35:35] Speaker 2: Let me say it backwards. That sound a little better. Yo.
[1:35:38] Speaker 5: No that's not right it could be.
[1:35:41] Speaker 2: No no shout out to wimpy man for getting this
[1:35:44] Speaker 2: award he controlled the game in a way when he's
[1:35:46] Speaker 2: on the floor and when he's off the floor that
[1:35:49] Speaker 2: you can't deny it right um he's going to get
[1:35:53] Speaker 2: better in that regard um and with just the help
[1:35:57] Speaker 2: side the talking and different things like that that's going
[1:35:59] Speaker 2: to come with more experience and more games being played
[1:36:03] Speaker 2: right now it's natural natural instinct that he's playing on
[1:36:06] Speaker 2: um And we see what he's doing. Yeah, it's just
[1:36:14] Speaker 2: like history and people that vote for these awards and
[1:36:18] Speaker 2: different things like that. So Dikembe, you said his high
[1:36:24] Speaker 2: was four and a half?
[1:36:25] Speaker 1: Four and a half. Let me confirm that. 4.5 in
[1:36:26] Speaker 1: the 95-96 season. He wasn't unanimous though, right?
[1:36:32] Speaker 2: No. Okay.
[1:36:33] Speaker 1: All right. We're going to be the first.
[1:36:34] Speaker 2: All right.
[1:36:35] Speaker 1: And the youngest. First unanimous? Yeah. The youngest defensive player
[1:36:39] Speaker 1: of the year. So, yeah. Just the people that vote, man.
[1:36:42] Speaker 2: I know it ain't the same crop of voters year in,
[1:36:46] Speaker 2: year out. They change.
[1:36:47] Speaker 1: Global media.
[1:36:48] Speaker 2: Yeah. It's just funny the criteria and things that people
[1:36:51] Speaker 2: go with in order. Because if a guy is averaging
[1:36:54] Speaker 2: four and a half blocks a game, I don't give
[1:36:57] Speaker 2: a fuck what season it is in the NBA. Yeah.
[1:37:00] Speaker 1: Four and a half blocks?
[1:37:01] Speaker 2: Dikembe averaged four and a half.
[1:37:02] Speaker 1: God damn. One year and wasn't unanimous. Mark Eaton averaged 5.6.
[1:37:07] Speaker 1: That's the most in NBA history. 5.6? Always beating Mark Eaton.
[1:37:13] Speaker 2: 5.6.
[1:37:13] Speaker 1: NBA.
[1:37:16] Speaker 2: This is sick.
[1:37:16] Speaker 1: Obviously, you know, blocks as official stat. You got Will,
[1:37:19] Speaker 1: I'm sure. Yeah, Will Prine.
[1:37:22] Speaker 2: You can't tell me this.
[1:37:23] Speaker 5: Anybody in the NBA look better defensively than Victor Wimbignone.
[1:37:27] Speaker 1: But in the history of the National Basketball Association since
[1:37:29] Speaker 1: the 82, 83. I'm sure Wilt looked crazy out there. Unanimous?
[1:37:32] Speaker 5: When you're talking about, all right, who affected what on
[1:37:35] Speaker 5: the defensive end this whole season the way this kid
[1:37:38] Speaker 5: did this year? There's no, it's not a chance. You
[1:37:42] Speaker 5: say who was second?
[1:37:43] Speaker 2: Check.
[1:37:45] Speaker 1: Watch out. Watch out. Lay washout. Watch out. I don't know, bro.
[1:37:51] Speaker 1: Why was Jalen Brown so far... Can we see the
[1:37:54] Speaker 1: voting results again, please?
[1:37:56] Speaker 2: Jalen should have been closer. Man, I'm like, Jalen Brown
[1:37:59] Speaker 2: at the bottom.
[1:38:00] Speaker 1: Wait, what? Danny Monaghan. I thought that was him, but
[1:38:04] Speaker 1: it was not.
[1:38:04] Speaker 2: No, it's Jalen Durham. Danny Monaghan.
[1:38:06] Speaker 1: That's crazy, bro. Too many Jalens in the NBA? Oh, wow.
[1:38:12] Speaker 1: That's crazy. Jalen Brown's not on there. That's crazy to me.
[1:38:15] Speaker 6: Wow.
[1:38:16] Speaker 1: Wow.
[1:38:16] Speaker 2: But nobody's better than Vic when you're talking about defense.
[1:38:19] Speaker 1: I'm saying Jalen Brown should be in the top five.
[1:38:22] Speaker 1: I feel like... They got Derek White in.
[1:38:24] Speaker 4: They have to do that because he's not going to
[1:38:26] Speaker 4: win MVP. So it makes him look good still.
[1:38:31] Speaker 1: Unanimous. In something.
[1:38:33] Speaker 2: In something.
[1:38:34] Speaker 6: But not MVP.
[1:38:36] Speaker 1: Yeah.
[1:38:37] Speaker 2: But I mean, listen, you got to get on something.
[1:38:39] Speaker 5: If you win unanimous defensive player of the year, you
[1:38:42] Speaker 5: got unanimous all team. You don't have to give him
[1:38:44] Speaker 5: all this. First all NBA, right? You don't have to
[1:38:48] Speaker 5: give him all this. Let's just say he don't win MVP.
[1:38:51] Speaker 1: Guess what I am?
[1:38:52] Speaker 2: He's not.
[1:38:52] Speaker 1: I'm top three. You're the best defender for a season
[1:38:57] Speaker 1: in NBA history. Top three and the most valuable player vote.
[1:39:00] Speaker 2: But what does that mean?
[1:39:02] Speaker 7: It means that I'm right there.
[1:39:04] Speaker 2: I'm right there.
[1:39:05] Speaker 1: I'm right there.
[1:39:06] Speaker 2: And he's really good in a league full of bad defenders.
[1:39:09] Speaker 2: Should he be at that height, though? What you mean?
[1:39:12] Speaker 1: None of the other two finalists for MVP.
[1:39:14] Speaker 2: One of the best defenders in the league at 7'8.
[1:39:16] Speaker 1: Should he be? Yes, he should be. He should be. No, no, no.
[1:39:19] Speaker 2: Sean Bradley wasn't.
[1:39:20] Speaker 5: Manute Ball wasn't.
[1:39:22] Speaker 1: Gal Bean wasn't.
[1:39:24] Speaker 5: None of those guys were predicted to be like, yo.
[1:39:27] Speaker 1: You should be this. They don't move like that, though.
[1:39:31] Speaker 1: You penalize him because he move like that?
[1:39:33] Speaker 5: Why do you get penalized because I'm athletic?
[1:39:36] Speaker 2: You said he's 7'6 because he's 7'6.
[1:39:39] Speaker 1: He should. But they wasn't. They wasn't. They wasn't.
[1:39:43] Speaker 5: Wayne Juju and all them niggas was 7'4, 7'5.
[1:39:47] Speaker 1: They ain't wimpy.
[1:39:49] Speaker 5: You got to know what you're doing with that shit.
[1:39:51] Speaker 5: He look like he know what he doing out there.
[1:39:54] Speaker 1: Not yet. To me.
[1:39:56] Speaker 2: He look like he know what he doing. When he
[1:39:58] Speaker 2: blocking that shit... Remember what you told me in college?
[1:40:02] Speaker 2: You told me this.
[1:40:04] Speaker 1: When you was blocking that shit, you was blocking that
[1:40:06] Speaker 1: shit out of bounds. And what did he tell you?
[1:40:10] Speaker 5: Keep that motherfucker in bounds so we can get that
[1:40:12] Speaker 5: bitch and go. He doing all the shit that was
[1:40:15] Speaker 5: taught in college.
[1:40:17] Speaker 2: And that's what I'm saying. I don't think he know
[1:40:18] Speaker 2: how to play. He don't understand the game.
[1:40:21] Speaker 1: He just going.
[1:40:22] Speaker 7: But the little small foundational things.
[1:40:24] Speaker 2: That he did. He's going to be much better is
[1:40:25] Speaker 2: what I'm saying.
[1:40:26] Speaker 5: He's getting that shit clean from weak side where you
[1:40:28] Speaker 5: wouldn't even keep it in bounds type shit.
[1:40:31] Speaker 2: I'm giving him his instincts. He's doing everything he's doing
[1:40:35] Speaker 2: now being unanimous.
[1:40:36] Speaker 1: And it's all instinct.
[1:40:38] Speaker 2: When he start thinking it.
[1:40:40] Speaker 1: That's scary.
[1:40:40] Speaker 2: And that shit slow down.
[1:40:42] Speaker 1: Scary.
[1:40:42] Speaker 5: And he's dissecting the play before it happened and all that.
[1:40:45] Speaker 1: That's what it is.
[1:40:46] Speaker 2: Like, that's the part I'm on. Like, I'm like, oh, shit.
[1:40:49] Speaker 5: Yeah.
[1:40:49] Speaker 2: Like, that part of it is scary.
[1:40:51] Speaker 5: Yeah.
[1:40:51] Speaker 2: But you know that's on the way. Yeah.
[1:40:52] Speaker 1: That's on the way.
[1:40:53] Speaker 2: That's what I'm saying. Why are you giving him all
[1:40:55] Speaker 2: this so early? Why not? Because he's nervous.
[1:40:57] Speaker 1: No, he don't. Why not?
[1:40:58] Speaker 2: He deserves it. But unanimous is crazy.
[1:41:00] Speaker 1: Right, right, right.
[1:41:01] Speaker 5: Oh, that is so crazy.
[1:41:04] Speaker 1: What's so crazy about it?
[1:41:05] Speaker 5: He's forcing him to be the face so bad.
[1:41:08] Speaker 4: He don't deserve to be in the fucking three in.
[1:41:11] Speaker 1: The MVP voting. He don't deserve to be a unanimous.
[1:41:13] Speaker 1: But he'll win it again, though.
[1:41:14] Speaker 2: He don't deserve to be a unanimous.
[1:41:15] Speaker 9: Why?
[1:41:15] Speaker 2: Because they.
[1:41:16] Speaker 1: You're forcing him to be something so bad. But you
[1:41:18] Speaker 1: got to say why.
[1:41:19] Speaker 2: It's going to happen. Let's have the conversation.
[1:41:22] Speaker 1: And let's talk about why.
[1:41:23] Speaker 4: LeBron and everybody's leaving, so they need somebody.
[1:41:25] Speaker 2: No, no, no, no, no.
[1:41:26] Speaker 5: That's not your why. The why can't be because they're leaving.
[1:41:29] Speaker 2: Yes. So based on his play. You need somebody that
[1:41:32] Speaker 2: can carry.
[1:41:32] Speaker 5: So he hasn't played MVP basketball this year?
[1:41:35] Speaker 1: Yeah.
[1:41:35] Speaker 2: He hasn't played since top three.
[1:41:37] Speaker 1: He's played great. But in offensive ranking, what is he,
[1:41:40] Speaker 1: like 21? Yeah, so there he is, right?
[1:41:41] Speaker 2: That's what I'm saying. So we have seen things that's
[1:41:44] Speaker 2: never happened before, right? Steph, there's only been one unanimous
[1:41:48] Speaker 2: MVP ever. Fucking Wilt played this game, Larry Bird, Michael Jordan,
[1:41:54] Speaker 2: Magic Johnson, Kareem, LeBron. There's only been one unanimous, right?
[1:42:02] Speaker 2: This is that again, right? It won't happen again, being unanimous.
[1:42:09] Speaker 2: They got it out the way. He's great this year.
[1:42:13] Speaker 2: Defensive rating when he's on the floor and off the floor.
[1:42:16] Speaker 2: All these things, the numbers people throwing out. It's astronomical
[1:42:20] Speaker 2: numbers that we're seeing now defensively from Wimby, right? Which
[1:42:24] Speaker 2: the square media to Josiah's point. Square, not Gills Arena level.
[1:42:27] Speaker 2: The square media pays attention to numbers and hype and
[1:42:32] Speaker 2: those people have votes. So you get unanimous. The thing
[1:42:40] Speaker 2: Steph did when he was unanimous. Oh, it's the greatest
[1:42:42] Speaker 2: basketball individual offensive season we've seen shooting. The hype. Steph
[1:42:47] Speaker 2: was unanimous. Did he deserve the MVP?
[1:42:48] Speaker 1: Yes, absolutely. Played great.
[1:42:51] Speaker 2: But to be unanimous and it's never happened?
[1:42:54] Speaker 1: Yeah.
[1:42:56] Speaker 2: Right.
[1:42:57] Speaker 1: That's crazy.
[1:42:58] Speaker 2: So, it's the same thing as this right here. Wimby
[1:43:01] Speaker 2: being unanimous. We've seen it. I don't think it ever
[1:43:05] Speaker 2: happened again. They got it out the way.
[1:43:08] Speaker 1: Right.
[1:43:10] Speaker 2: Played great. Yeah, but we never seen things again. We
[1:43:13] Speaker 2: never seen it again.
[1:43:14] Speaker 7: That's why they happen.
[1:43:15] Speaker 2: That's why we make them happen. You make them happen. Oh,
[1:43:17] Speaker 2: he did.
[1:43:18] Speaker 1: Winby made it happen. He did. That's what I'm talking about.
[1:43:19] Speaker 1: I mean, this is an award he's going to get
[1:43:20] Speaker 1: this year. Congratulations. Hats off to him, right?
[1:43:23] Speaker 2: What he does for his team to be in second
[1:43:25] Speaker 2: and defensively block shots, control the game.
[1:43:28] Speaker 1: Yeah, all of that. Great. You're not there yet.
[1:43:30] Speaker 2: We won't see another unanimous, I don't believe.
[1:43:31] Speaker 1: But look, he's not there yet.
[1:43:33] Speaker 2: Almost.
[1:43:33] Speaker 1: We'll see. We'll see. It's not like the 100 Square
[1:43:36] Speaker 1: Media members got together and said, hey, we're all voting
[1:43:38] Speaker 1: for Winby. These were... 500 total points.
[1:43:42] Speaker 4: He had 30 years from the first game of the season.
[1:43:46] Speaker 2: You think so? We wouldn't have nothing to do with it.
[1:43:48] Speaker 1: Back to my question. Back to my question.
[1:43:50] Speaker 2: Back to my question. Back to my question. Back to
[1:43:52] Speaker 2: my question. Back to my question.
[1:43:53] Speaker 1: Back to my question. Back to my question. Back to
[1:43:56] Speaker 1: my question. Back to my question. Back to my question.
[1:43:59] Speaker 2: Back to my question.
[1:44:00] Speaker 1: Back to my question.
[1:44:01] Speaker 2: Back to my question.
[1:44:14] Speaker 1: What? The guy that's in fourth right here.
[1:44:17] Speaker 5: What did he do different from last year and the
[1:44:19] Speaker 5: year before that and the fourth that he has at home?
[1:44:21] Speaker 1: He got four at home. He got four at home.
[1:44:24] Speaker 2: I want to know what the guy did different. What
[1:44:26] Speaker 2: did the guy do that's next to last do different?
[1:44:30] Speaker 5: Huh? The guy that's next to last on the list.
[1:44:34] Speaker 5: What do we do different year in, year out?
[1:44:36] Speaker 1: Say his name.
[1:44:36] Speaker 2: Why is he so far down on the list? We're
[1:44:39] Speaker 2: talking about Draymond Green, ladies and gentlemen. Why is Draymond
[1:44:42] Speaker 2: Green so far down on the list when he is 1A, 1B, 1C,
[1:44:45] Speaker 2: 1D defensively for his team? I'll tell you. Right?
[1:44:49] Speaker 7: Where was Draymond Green in the Golden State Warriors last year?
[1:44:53] Speaker 6: Let me see.
[1:44:54] Speaker 2: But he doesn't change, though. I'm saying, what? We're not
[1:44:56] Speaker 2: talking about their team. No, that's what we're talking about.
[1:44:58] Speaker 1: What he does individually, defensively.
[1:45:01] Speaker 2: Okay, so what you just asked, right?
[1:45:03] Speaker 5: What you do individually that has you.
[1:45:07] Speaker 1: Not winning at all? No, no, top five.
[1:45:09] Speaker 2: You talking about Draymond or both him and Rudy?
[1:45:11] Speaker 1: No, Draymond. Just Draymond. Why the guy that's.
[1:45:14] Speaker 2: In fourth not with Chet? Because I don't think Chet
[1:45:16] Speaker 2: does anything different than Rudy does.
[1:45:20] Speaker 1: Rudy won it last year. So, how he dropped the fourth?
[1:45:25] Speaker 5: He dropped the fourth because the dude in front made
[1:45:28] Speaker 5: it where everyone had a metric.
[1:45:30] Speaker 2: You got to reach.
[1:45:31] Speaker 1: That metric of what he's doing.
[1:45:32] Speaker 2: The guy won it last year.
[1:45:33] Speaker 1: That's what I'm saying. So, the metric has changed.
[1:45:36] Speaker 2: How?
[1:45:36] Speaker 5: Because the guy that won it changed it that much.
[1:45:40] Speaker 1: You have to get up to what I'm doing now.
[1:45:43] Speaker 1: I got four.
[1:45:44] Speaker 5: The reason he didn't win last year is because he
[1:45:46] Speaker 5: got hurt. He didn't meet the restrictions. They had to
[1:45:50] Speaker 5: give it to Rudy. He's second best. Now, if you
[1:45:53] Speaker 5: don't give it to Rudy, you're giving it to Chet,
[1:45:56] Speaker 5: who played a lot better defense this year than he.
[1:45:58] Speaker 2: Played last year.
[1:45:59] Speaker 1: Mobley won it last year. Mobley ain't on it now.
[1:46:05] Speaker 2: Rudy won it. Rudy won it the year before.
[1:46:07] Speaker 5: Mobley actually played better defense last year than he played
[1:46:11] Speaker 5: this year.
[1:46:12] Speaker 2: Why he not even on the list? Yeah.
[1:46:14] Speaker 1: When we finished second, I believe.
[1:46:16] Speaker 2: Last year.
[1:46:17] Speaker 1: Oh, and it's rookie year. It's rookie year.
[1:46:18] Speaker 2: We finished second to.
[1:46:20] Speaker 1: Rudy? To Rudy. Rudy Gobert. And.
[1:46:23] Speaker 2: Last year was not eligible. Evan Mobley won last year.
[1:46:26] Speaker 1: Draymond finished third in voting last year. Lou Dork came
[1:46:30] Speaker 1: out again. Lou Dork finished.
[1:46:32] Speaker 2: Fourth last year.
[1:46:34] Speaker 5: And he finished third last year.
[1:46:37] Speaker 1: Yeah. I don't know.
[1:46:39] Speaker 2: He didn't affect winning.
[1:46:40] Speaker 1: Lou Dork.
[1:46:41] Speaker 2: Your defense didn't affect like it did before.
[1:46:43] Speaker 1: Imagine you get all the points and whatever.
[1:46:45] Speaker 2: They shouldn't do that. That shouldn't be in there.
[1:46:47] Speaker 1: Luke Dort was fourth last year. Luke Dort did play
[1:46:50] Speaker 1: 69 games this season. You play what? No, so you
[1:46:54] Speaker 1: can't say that. No. They're number one.
[1:46:56] Speaker 5: They can't just be running around no more. They don't
[1:46:59] Speaker 5: just be running around chasing motherfuckers.
[1:47:01] Speaker 1: Because look, that's what Asar do.
[1:47:02] Speaker 2: Asar do what Luke Dort was doing.
[1:47:04] Speaker 1: He did it a lot better.
[1:47:06] Speaker 5: He blocked a lot more shots, deflected a lot more passes.
[1:47:09] Speaker 1: Command fourth, though.
[1:47:11] Speaker 2: He don't block shots. Luke Dort don't block shots.
[1:47:13] Speaker 1: That's what I'm saying.
[1:47:14] Speaker 2: But Hazard does more defensively. No, he does not. No,
[1:47:19] Speaker 2: he does not.
[1:47:20] Speaker 1: He doesn't do more.
[1:47:21] Speaker 2: He might average more blocks.
[1:47:23] Speaker 1: He doesn't do more than Luke Dort.
[1:47:24] Speaker 2: On paper, he do more.
[1:47:26] Speaker 1: On film, he do more. No, he don't know. Luke
[1:47:27] Speaker 1: Dort just chases things around.
[1:47:29] Speaker 2: Yeah.
[1:47:30] Speaker 1: I'm with you with that.
[1:47:31] Speaker 5: He's doing the Dyson Daniels. He's doing what Dyson Daniels
[1:47:33] Speaker 5: is doing. Dyson right there. Dyson deserves more credit. He
[1:47:36] Speaker 5: do what Lou do, but he do it better. OG Ananobly.
[1:47:43] Speaker 1: He don't do.
[1:47:44] Speaker 5: I don't think he do more than Lou. I don't
[1:47:46] Speaker 5: think he do more than Lou. I don't think they
[1:47:47] Speaker 5: do it better. I don't think they do, but I
[1:47:49] Speaker 5: think it looks better.
[1:47:50] Speaker 1: I don't.
[1:47:50] Speaker 6: Jalen Brown shit.
[1:47:51] Speaker 1: I don't. I think it looks the same.
[1:47:52] Speaker 5: That's why Cason Wallace is in there and Lou Dorton not.
[1:47:55] Speaker 5: Cason Wallace make it look better.
[1:47:57] Speaker 2: And where's what's the name at then? Who?
[1:47:59] Speaker 4: So that would be the first team. So that would
[1:48:03] Speaker 4: be the first team.
[1:48:04] Speaker 1: So Kayser Wallace does more than Alex Cruz for that team?
[1:48:06] Speaker 1: In theory, Swaggy, this would.
[1:48:08] Speaker 4: That's how first team and second team.
[1:48:10] Speaker 1: But this is basically what it should look like.
[1:48:13] Speaker 2: No, that ain't the way it work.
[1:48:14] Speaker 1: It should look like that. And Jalen Brown. even on
[1:48:21] Speaker 1: the list. They're not on the list.
[1:48:24] Speaker 2: Mark Gasol won the shit and got second team.
[1:48:28] Speaker 1: All right. Well, sufficient defensive talk. Yeah.
[1:48:31] Speaker 2: One of them got second team.
[1:48:33] Speaker 1: So one more topic we got to discuss today. Obviously,
[1:48:36] Speaker 1: there was a ton of postseason games, ladies and gentlemen.
[1:48:38] Speaker 1: We have a finite amount of time on the show.
[1:48:40] Speaker 1: We can't cover every single one of them.
[1:48:41] Speaker 2: We got five minutes.
[1:48:42] Speaker 1: We better talk about Boston. We like to talk about Boston. Okay.
[1:48:46] Speaker 1: I wasn't going to do it, but hey. So, Celtics
[1:48:49] Speaker 1: and Sixers opened their first round series Sunday. Oh, you
[1:48:52] Speaker 1: do Detroit. If they want to do Detroit. No, we're
[1:48:54] Speaker 1: doing Boston.
[1:48:55] Speaker 2: Okay.
[1:48:56] Speaker 1: Teams split the season series. Jason Tatum did not play
[1:48:59] Speaker 1: in any of those games. Sixers have dropped six straight
[1:49:01] Speaker 1: playoff series against the Celtics. Haven't won a playoff series
[1:49:04] Speaker 1: against Boston since 1982. A great year. A great clothing
[1:49:09] Speaker 1: brand as well. If Game 1 was any indication of
[1:49:12] Speaker 1: what's to come, the streak will continue this year. Let's
[1:49:15] Speaker 1: take a look at the highlights if we can, please,
[1:49:17] Speaker 1: my good man Carlos. Jays had their way in Game 1.
[1:49:22] Speaker 1: Jason Tatum stuffed the stat sheet with 25 points, 11 rebounds,
[1:49:25] Speaker 1: and 7 assists in 32 minutes of action. Jalen Brown
[1:49:29] Speaker 1: led Boston with 26 points on 11 rebounds. of 21 shooting.
[1:49:34] Speaker 1: Jays were combined 20 or 38 from the field and
[1:49:38] Speaker 1: plus 43 in this game. So, Boston outscored Philly 33-18
[1:49:45] Speaker 1: in the first quarter. Hold on. That's light-skinned and excellent
[1:49:52] Speaker 1: right there, ladies and gentlemen. 33-18 in the first quarter
[1:49:55] Speaker 1: had an 18-point lead at the break.
[1:49:59] Speaker 6: What is Drummond doing?
[1:50:00] Speaker 1: Boston held the Sixers to 39% shooting and 17% from
[1:50:05] Speaker 1: three in the game. Celtics got the wire-to-wire 32-point blowout
[1:50:12] Speaker 1: win over the Sixers. It's the largest playoff opening win
[1:50:16] Speaker 1: in franchise history. Celtics fans also trolled Sixers fans with,
[1:50:21] Speaker 1: we want Boston chants. Similar to the ones heard in
[1:50:24] Speaker 1: Philly after the Sixers playing win over the Magic. Y'all
[1:50:29] Speaker 1: said y'all wanted this noise. The Sixers fans said y'all
[1:50:33] Speaker 1: wanted this noise. Swag, let's start with you.
[1:50:36] Speaker 2: They suck defensively. I don't know if.
[1:50:38] Speaker 1: Y'all know that. Oh, my God. That was nasty.
[1:50:40] Speaker 2: No, they only.
[1:50:42] Speaker 1: Yo, what is Drummond doing on the pick? Stop reaching.
[1:50:44] Speaker 1: They suck. No, stop reaching.
[1:50:46] Speaker 3: And then, like, he's just reaching every time.
[1:50:49] Speaker 1: They just... Stop reaching. Who? Drummond. No. He never been there?
[1:50:55] Speaker 1: He's just a rebounder. What statement did Jason Tatum and
[1:51:02] Speaker 1: Jalen Brown make in the Celtics' blowout win over the
[1:51:04] Speaker 1: Sixers in game one? What statement? Finals.
[1:51:10] Speaker 2: That we playing Philly again.
[1:51:11] Speaker 1: Finals.
[1:51:12] Speaker 6: You said finals?
[1:51:13] Speaker 2: Finals. Yeah, we playing Philly again, that's all. They said
[1:51:20] Speaker 2: they won their Boston game.
[1:51:22] Speaker 1: Couldn't beat them with the best players.
[1:51:25] Speaker 2: No NBA.
[1:51:26] Speaker 1: They ain't going to beat them now.
[1:51:29] Speaker 4: It don't matter who you put in front of them.
[1:51:35] Speaker 4: It don't matter who you put in front of them.
[1:51:39] Speaker 4: When you got Jalen Brown playing like that.
[1:51:41] Speaker 2: I think the Magic would have been a better matchup
[1:51:48] Speaker 2: with them.
[1:51:49] Speaker 5: I think the Magic is a better matchup than they are.
[1:51:52] Speaker 5: I don't think Philly know how to play without Embiid, man.
[1:51:56] Speaker 5: To be honest, they don't look good without him out
[1:51:58] Speaker 5: there because they need somebody else out there other than Maxie.
[1:52:02] Speaker 5: Paul George is not the same Paul George. You can't
[1:52:04] Speaker 5: depend on Vijay yet. He's not that guy that you're
[1:52:07] Speaker 5: going to say, go give me a bucket and do
[1:52:09] Speaker 5: it consistently. And their defense, they don't seem like they're
[1:52:12] Speaker 5: on the string, with or without Embiid. They're just terrible defensively. Oh, yeah,
[1:52:15] Speaker 5: they're bad defensively. They're bad defensively all year long. So
[1:52:18] Speaker 5: you got offensive juggernauts coming in there. You're talking about
[1:52:20] Speaker 5: two guys that really know what they're doing. Like, we
[1:52:22] Speaker 5: know how to get around this shit. Get through this shit.
[1:52:24] Speaker 5: You're going to have to stop us, literally stop us.
[1:52:27] Speaker 5: You don't got no stoppers on the floor no more.
[1:52:30] Speaker 5: PG not a stopper. Kelly not a stopper. Vijay not
[1:52:32] Speaker 5: a stopper. He can be a stopper. I like Vijay.
[1:52:35] Speaker 5: He can play enough to be a stopper. Maxie not
[1:52:38] Speaker 5: a stopper. These ain't none of the guys. Now you
[1:52:40] Speaker 5: look at Drummond, he ain't no stopper. Whoever the other
[1:52:43] Speaker 5: dude number 30 is, he ain't no stopper.
[1:52:45] Speaker 2: He's the best that you have as a rim protector
[1:52:48] Speaker 2: in Bona. Bona.
[1:52:49] Speaker 1: He ain't no stopper, but he plays his position.
[1:52:52] Speaker 2: Because he's athletic and long, but he's hard.
[1:52:54] Speaker 5: He don't know what to do yet, though.
[1:52:56] Speaker 2: Foul prone.
[1:52:57] Speaker 1: Right.
[1:52:57] Speaker 5: So if you put him against them two monsters coming downhill,
[1:53:01] Speaker 5: ain't nothing you can do.
[1:53:02] Speaker 7: You're depending on rotations now.
[1:53:03] Speaker 2: No.
[1:53:04] Speaker 5: Hauser over there, Pritchard over there. They got guys who
[1:53:07] Speaker 5: can hit shots.
[1:53:08] Speaker 1: Vooch over there. Man, he's dead in the water.
[1:53:11] Speaker 5: Derek White over there hitting shots. They play defense, though.
[1:53:15] Speaker 5: They play team defense. They play team defense.
[1:53:18] Speaker 1: They're frustrating.
[1:53:19] Speaker 2: What?
[1:53:20] Speaker 1: That's what I'm saying.
[1:53:21] Speaker 5: You don't got nobody to get you extra buckets, though.
[1:53:24] Speaker 5: You ain't throwing it to somebody to get their attention
[1:53:27] Speaker 5: off you.
[1:53:27] Speaker 4: They like each other. They're playing for each other. You
[1:53:30] Speaker 4: got a team that's playing for each other. We've got
[1:53:34] Speaker 4: to try to get easy buckets in the playoffs. And
[1:53:36] Speaker 4: Philly doesn't.
[1:53:37] Speaker 2: Have an easy bucket situation. Not playing against this team.
[1:53:41] Speaker 2: Because the way Boston is defended, the way they defended
[1:53:44] Speaker 2: all year. Let me ask y'all a question. Yeah, they
[1:53:47] Speaker 2: got multiple guys to throw at. Yeah, they defending, man.
[1:53:50] Speaker 5: So you think that Boston feels some type of way
[1:53:54] Speaker 5: about that OKC championship as Tatum went down and they
[1:53:58] Speaker 5: were actually building on the dynasty type of situation over
[1:54:01] Speaker 5: there in Boston? Tatum goes down. They had a year
[1:54:03] Speaker 5: that they have. They missed the playoffs. OKC wins.
[1:54:07] Speaker 1: Were the Celtics beating the Knicks with or without Jason Tatum?
[1:54:12] Speaker 2: It goes down, though, don't it?
[1:54:14] Speaker 1: It looked like they took their formula.
[1:54:19] Speaker 3: Getting Jason Tatum back is a boost, though.
[1:54:22] Speaker 6: I'm not going to front. It helps them so much.
[1:54:25] Speaker 1: Huh? Of course.
[1:54:28] Speaker 3: And the fact that he's coming back, he's still not
[1:54:30] Speaker 3: all the way 100, but just him out there just
[1:54:32] Speaker 3: changes everything for them.
[1:54:34] Speaker 2: Exactly what we were saying about the KD situation with Houston. 70%
[1:54:39] Speaker 2: of him, 80% of him, right? Which I was saying
[1:54:41] Speaker 2: from the beginning, when we thought he should have sat out,
[1:54:44] Speaker 2: y'all were saying him at 80 is better than none, right?
[1:54:47] Speaker 1: So that's the.
[1:54:48] Speaker 2: Do you think right now, though, you got.
[1:54:51] Speaker 5: The Knicks and the Pistons being the only people that's,
[1:54:54] Speaker 5: the only two teams that's in the way of the Celtics.
[1:54:58] Speaker 2: Do the Celtics take them out? Yeah. And then take whoever.
[1:55:03] Speaker 1: Whoever.
[1:55:03] Speaker 2: Whoever's on the West.
[1:55:04] Speaker 1: Whoever's on the West.
[1:55:05] Speaker 2: Whoever's on the West.
[1:55:07] Speaker 1: That's going to be a fade.
[1:55:08] Speaker 2: It's a fade for sure. Yeah, I'm picking Boston to
[1:55:11] Speaker 2: come out of these.
[1:55:11] Speaker 1: Yep. I got Boston coming out. They've been there. They've
[1:55:14] Speaker 1: been there two or three years.
[1:55:15] Speaker 5: That's what I was about to say because Cleveland is
[1:55:18] Speaker 5: a sleeper.
[1:55:18] Speaker 1: You said who?
[1:55:19] Speaker 2: Cleveland is a sleeper.
[1:55:20] Speaker 1: That's a good point. The Cavaliers from Cleveland. Come on, man.
[1:55:23] Speaker 2: Boston Celtics.
[1:55:25] Speaker 1: Detroit's going to lose.
[1:55:26] Speaker 5: Detroit's out of here in the first round.
[1:55:29] Speaker 1: Detroit's out of here. I think Detroit gets by the Magic,
[1:55:31] Speaker 1: but they're looking very fugazian.
[1:55:34] Speaker 2: No, they out of here.
[1:55:35] Speaker 4: No, because Orlando turning into who?
[1:55:38] Speaker 1: They got confidence right now. They needed that. They needed
[1:55:41] Speaker 1: that play-in.
[1:55:42] Speaker 2: They needed that play-in.
[1:55:43] Speaker 1: What they did to the Hornets.
[1:55:44] Speaker 2: They needed that. They did.
[1:55:45] Speaker 1: I said the same thing.
[1:55:46] Speaker 2: They started the season. We thought we was going to see. Yes.
[1:55:49] Speaker 5: Because they damn near almost lost the whole season. Jamal
[1:55:52] Speaker 5: over there looking crazy about to get fired.
[1:55:55] Speaker 1: Whether or not y'all win or lose. Winner of the
[1:55:58] Speaker 1: Pistons Magic Series.
[1:55:59] Speaker 2: I like that.
[1:55:59] Speaker 5: The Cavs do advance past the Raptors. Which is looking like.
[1:56:02] Speaker 5: The Raptors looking trash as fuck. I mean, the Cavs
[1:56:05] Speaker 5: got a little. It depends on what happened in that first.
[1:56:08] Speaker 5: The Cavs got a little bit. He look like a
[1:56:09] Speaker 5: real pro out there, bro. He look like he don't
[1:56:11] Speaker 5: care about MVP or not, bro. I'm really him.
[1:56:14] Speaker 2: That's how he look out there. Yeah.
[1:56:16] Speaker 1: If they can stay healthy, which is always a big issue.
[1:56:18] Speaker 1: That's going to be it, yeah. I think they move
[1:56:21] Speaker 1: to number two. You know, somebody will get sick, go down. Nah,
[1:56:25] Speaker 1: not this thing.
[1:56:26] Speaker 2: I hope not.
[1:56:26] Speaker 1: They look good, though. That's what I'm saying. They playing
[1:56:33] Speaker 1: the Raptors. The Raptors is trash, though.
[1:56:35] Speaker 2: They look trash. Out of all the East teams, they
[1:56:38] Speaker 2: look the worst.
[1:56:39] Speaker 5: They look better than the Phillies.
[1:56:41] Speaker 1: They look better than the Phillies, but not really.
[1:56:43] Speaker 4: They look just like the Pistons.
[1:56:45] Speaker 1: That's why them games come on first, because they got
[1:56:47] Speaker 1: to do two national games? Yeah, they motherfucking four o'clock.
[1:56:49] Speaker 1: They got the first. They're low-budget Hawks to me, though.
[1:56:53] Speaker 2: Hawks are better than them.
[1:56:54] Speaker 1: Hawks are better than them.
[1:56:55] Speaker 2: I know, but I said the low-budget Hawks. They like long, long,
[1:56:58] Speaker 2: long on the same time. Yeah.
[1:57:02] Speaker 1: Man, R.J.
[1:57:03] Speaker 7: Barrett, boy, best nigga on their team. Dookie, man.
[1:57:06] Speaker 1: You think Ben Scott? Yeah, as far as.
[1:57:10] Speaker 2: Going to go get one.
[1:57:11] Speaker 1: Yeah, going to get one. He going to go get one.
[1:57:13] Speaker 2: R.J. don't give a fuck.
[1:57:14] Speaker 7: He going to go left-handed or not, he going to
[1:57:16] Speaker 7: go get it.
[1:57:17] Speaker 5: But Brandon Ingram look like he lost in the sauce
[1:57:20] Speaker 5: out there.
[1:57:21] Speaker 2: Scottie just looked like, I'm just going to get him.
[1:57:23] Speaker 1: After game one, did not improve upon that game one performance.
[1:57:27] Speaker 2: Seven points.
[1:57:28] Speaker 1: Three for 15, I believe, didn't score in the first half.
[1:57:30] Speaker 1: That's different, man. It's like he never really turned.
[1:57:34] Speaker 2: Who?
[1:57:35] Speaker 1: Brandon Ingram.
[1:57:35] Speaker 2: He has it. It's one speed. 21 a game this year,
[1:57:39] Speaker 2: I think. 19, 21. Yeah, it's one speed.
[1:57:43] Speaker 1: You got to work on something else.
[1:57:45] Speaker 2: You got to take that away.
[1:57:46] Speaker 1: That boy play here.
[1:57:49] Speaker 2: Hey, I'm fucking here.
[1:57:51] Speaker 1: God damn it.
[1:57:51] Speaker 5: You got to take it over and change some shit.
[1:57:56] Speaker 1: And that shit, that shit easy to. He got laid.
[1:58:00] Speaker 2: He laid back.
[1:58:00] Speaker 1: Yeah, that's the same thing with Scotty, though. I say
[1:58:02] Speaker 1: the same. They got three guys that do.
[1:58:04] Speaker 2: The same type of shit. They don't really change their game.
[1:58:07] Speaker 2: All three of them. But.
[1:58:10] Speaker 1: Just stay right here.
[1:58:12] Speaker 2: You gotta go up, bro.
[1:58:13] Speaker 1: He asking for more shots. He took more shots. Hey,
[1:58:17] Speaker 1: how many years Brandon Ingram got? Seven. Say it again?
[1:58:21] Speaker 2: No, he played.
[1:58:22] Speaker 1: He was my rookie, so... How many?
[1:58:24] Speaker 2: Ten? He about ten?
[1:58:25] Speaker 1: He about eight?
[1:58:27] Speaker 2: Yeah, B.I.
[1:58:28] Speaker 1: B.I. played for a while. Ten seasons. Ten. Ten seasons?
[1:58:32] Speaker 1: That's what I'm saying.
[1:58:34] Speaker 3: Time for that conversation.
[1:58:38] Speaker 1: I see you talking about the conversation. I mean, just saying,
[1:58:41] Speaker 1: just conversations. I mean, we see Wimby, we see all
[1:58:43] Speaker 1: these young guys coming in. It's going to be all
[1:58:45] Speaker 1: those guys that's 10, 11, 12 years in. Time for
[1:58:48] Speaker 1: them conversations.
[1:58:49] Speaker 2: So I have a question. So what you're saying there, right?
[1:58:52] Speaker 1: What's that?
[1:58:53] Speaker 2: Half the teams that B.I. has been on, right? Mm-hmm.
[1:58:57] Speaker 2: Have they tried to force him into something that he's not? No.
[1:59:03] Speaker 2: Pelicans didn't. Number one?
[1:59:05] Speaker 1: Yeah, everybody made him number one.
[1:59:06] Speaker 2: Because Zion's there.
[1:59:08] Speaker 1: What happened with the Lakers?
[1:59:08] Speaker 2: Zion was there.
[1:59:09] Speaker 1: What happened with the Lakers?
[1:59:10] Speaker 2: He was an all-star.
[1:59:11] Speaker 1: With the Lakers? Lakers, he was an all-star?
[1:59:13] Speaker 2: Yeah, let's start with the Lakers situation, right?
[1:59:15] Speaker 1: Yeah. Was they trying to make him?
[1:59:19] Speaker 2: Was it?
[1:59:20] Speaker 1: Yeah, I thought it was.
[1:59:21] Speaker 2: Well, Kuz was there.
[1:59:22] Speaker 1: He was a top five pick. He was a top
[1:59:23] Speaker 1: five pick, right? I think it was him first. It
[1:59:24] Speaker 1: was him first. He was there before Kuz.
[1:59:26] Speaker 2: But I think they were, it was his team.
[1:59:28] Speaker 1: It was his team. Kuz came in and destroyed. Yeah.
[1:59:31] Speaker 2: But it was one year that they failed. That's it.
[1:59:34] Speaker 1: That was like J.R.
[1:59:35] Speaker 2: Smith when he was in New Orleans.
[1:59:37] Speaker 7: You get that one year, you show you can do it.
[1:59:39] Speaker 1: Yeah, one year. He was in New Orleans with Zion.
[1:59:41] Speaker 2: Zion was, so Zion was out.
[1:59:43] Speaker 1: CJ, right? Was CJ there?
[1:59:44] Speaker 2: CJ was there. But Zion was out most of that time.
[1:59:46] Speaker 1: Okay. He was an all-star out there. It's supposed to
[1:59:49] Speaker 1: be his, right?
[1:59:49] Speaker 2: That's where he was balling, yeah. Yeah, yeah, but so...
[1:59:52] Speaker 2: And then.
[1:59:52] Speaker 1: I.
[1:59:52] Speaker 5: Think he was like 24 a game, maybe.
[1:59:55] Speaker 1: Oh, he's a one-time all-star? Yeah. Okay, I mean.
[1:59:59] Speaker 2: But I'm just starting to think, had they fought... I
[2:00:01] Speaker 2: just look at his game and how he plays. Too smooth.
[2:00:07] Speaker 1: He too cool.
[2:00:08] Speaker 2: I think you need... You need.
[2:00:10] Speaker 5: You need.
[2:00:11] Speaker 1: Dylan Brooks.
[2:00:14] Speaker 5: Somebody needs to piss him off.
[2:00:17] Speaker 1: You need other guys around. 2020 and 2026. You need
[2:00:19] Speaker 1: other guys around.
[2:00:19] Speaker 2: I think you need other guys around him. And he
[2:00:23] Speaker 2: still would be him.
[2:00:25] Speaker 1: Who his personality is. Like KD.
[2:00:30] Speaker 2: He's like a low budget KD.
[2:00:33] Speaker 1: Could have been him.
[2:00:33] Speaker 2: No. That's what he's supposed to. But his demeanor, though.
[2:00:37] Speaker 2: His demeanor.
[2:00:37] Speaker 1: He don't shoot it like that. I'm about to say KD. KD.
[2:00:41] Speaker 1: KD don't shoot it like that.
[2:00:43] Speaker 4: That's what he was supposed to be, though.
[2:00:44] Speaker 2: I didn't think he got there. He was supposed to
[2:00:46] Speaker 2: be there. I don't think he got there. He didn't
[2:00:48] Speaker 2: get there.
[2:00:48] Speaker 1: Yes. Attribute. They were comparing him. Attributes, yes. I didn't
[2:00:54] Speaker 1: like it at all.
[2:00:55] Speaker 2: No. Yeah. attributes i ain't saying long arm release point
[2:01:01] Speaker 2: on the shot frame all of those things i see
[2:01:04] Speaker 2: where people were heading with.
[2:01:05] Speaker 5: It yeah yeah i saw it you got you got
[2:01:07] Speaker 5: we got reference another player bro another.
[2:01:10] Speaker 2: Player and that's nothing against him but they were headed
[2:01:13] Speaker 2: with it yeah they were trying to say that though
[2:01:15] Speaker 2: they were reaching yes but i see where the reach
[2:01:20] Speaker 2: what's heading They said that they were reaching in the
[2:01:23] Speaker 2: right direction, but I just see what they were reaching to.
[2:01:27] Speaker 2: Because the attributes and skill set and how he built
[2:01:30] Speaker 2: and belief point and He's just having to rent though.
[2:01:34] Speaker 1: Yeah, I know. I know. I know. I know when
[2:01:36] Speaker 1: I heard it.
[2:01:36] Speaker 3: I was like question mark and I was like, okay.
[2:01:39] Speaker 5: I see the little Kevin. He had 22 when he
[2:01:41] Speaker 5: got the all-star beer.
[2:01:43] Speaker 1: Who else?
[2:01:44] Speaker 2: Are you talking about this old?
[2:01:47] Speaker 1: Okay.
[2:01:48] Speaker 2: Who else have played? I was trying to think who
[2:01:50] Speaker 2: else played this way like Long.
[2:01:53] Speaker 1: It was really good. Really good. You know who played?
[2:01:56] Speaker 1: But it was like. I mean, so you got. I mean,
[2:01:58] Speaker 1: at his position, you got Danny Granger. You got.
[2:02:01] Speaker 2: Danny Granger.
[2:02:02] Speaker 1: You got. Austin Day.
[2:02:04] Speaker 2: They try to make him like a KD. You got
[2:02:06] Speaker 2: Jeff Green.
[2:02:06] Speaker 1: But Austin Day can play, though. He can shoot the ball.
[2:02:10] Speaker 4: But everybody that was bad and skinny, they.
[2:02:13] Speaker 1: Tried to make it. They prepared him. I know. That's
[2:02:16] Speaker 1: the same shit I did.
[2:02:18] Speaker 2: That's a bad comparison.
[2:02:19] Speaker 1: B.I.
[2:02:19] Speaker 2: Was different, though. That shit they did for Mike, right?
[2:02:22] Speaker 2: Michael Jordan, motherfucking. The next Michael Jordan, like, let's stop
[2:02:25] Speaker 2: this shit, man. He's the next Kevin Durant. Let's stop
[2:02:28] Speaker 2: this shit, man. Boston, didn't they get the African, the skinny?
[2:02:32] Speaker 1: B.I. and Jason Tatum, no more. Hey, yeah, brothers.
[2:02:35] Speaker 2: Before.
[2:02:37] Speaker 1: Maker?
[2:02:38] Speaker 2: Yeah, Maker. Thawne Maker.
[2:02:40] Speaker 1: Thawne Maker. Thawne Maker.
[2:02:41] Speaker 2: Him and KJ were sophomores together at Chaminade.
[2:02:43] Speaker 6: Thawne Maker.
[2:02:44] Speaker 1: He was all right. That was not his sophomore year, KJ. Oh,
[2:02:47] Speaker 1: it definitely wasn't his sophomore year. He was enrolled as
[2:02:49] Speaker 1: a sophomore with.
[2:02:50] Speaker 2: KJ at Chaminade.
[2:02:51] Speaker 1: I know, I know.
[2:02:51] Speaker 3: You got to be careful comparing some of these dudes.
[2:02:54] Speaker 1: Just let them become them. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Just let
[2:02:56] Speaker 1: them become them because that's a lot of pressure. Yeah.
[2:02:59] Speaker 2: But I don't think, so his game is what it is.
[2:03:02] Speaker 2: He's just smooth. I think him being out there with
[2:03:05] Speaker 2: other guys like a facilitator, he can just stand over
[2:03:08] Speaker 2: there and make shots and there's no pressure. I think B.I.
[2:03:10] Speaker 2: 's career would have been a lot different.
[2:03:12] Speaker 1: Yeah, he played like John Simmons. He just told her.
[2:03:15] Speaker 2: Huh?
[2:03:15] Speaker 1: Like John Simmons. He just told her.
[2:03:16] Speaker 2: Well, Joe, what about Travis Outlaw?
[2:03:18] Speaker 1: John Simmons was smooth.
[2:03:19] Speaker 2: Man.
[2:03:19] Speaker 1: There they go. Travis Outlaw.
[2:03:21] Speaker 2: You ain't even going to remember Travis Outlaw.
[2:03:23] Speaker 1: I don't think of Bo Outlaw. You thinking of Bo Outlaw?
[2:03:27] Speaker 2: Travis Outlaw used to get buckets, man.
[2:03:29] Speaker 1: 6'9, athletic.
[2:03:29] Speaker 2: He's not just smooth, though. He's way more smoother.
[2:03:33] Speaker 1: Travis Outlaw played hard.
[2:03:35] Speaker 5: And he didn't handle the ball like that. He handled
[2:03:37] Speaker 5: it more like John Simmons, like he said. Like John
[2:03:38] Speaker 5: Simmons was more of that smooth.
[2:03:41] Speaker 2: But he wasn't 6'9.
[2:03:41] Speaker 1: Yeah. No, I'll be honest.
[2:03:43] Speaker 2: I just think, yeah, but.
[2:03:44] Speaker 1: It's over.
[2:03:45] Speaker 2: Cleveland is going to do what they do. They're going
[2:03:48] Speaker 2: to bone these people. Who Cleveland got second? The winner
[2:03:51] Speaker 2: of Detroit, Orlando.
[2:03:52] Speaker 1: Yeah.
[2:03:53] Speaker 2: Cleveland, Orlando. Cleveland, Orlando.
[2:03:57] Speaker 1: Cleveland, Orlando.
[2:03:58] Speaker 2: Oh. Mark my words.
[2:04:01] Speaker 1: Cleveland. Pistons out of here?
[2:04:02] Speaker 2: Cleveland, Orlando. Pistons out of here. Ooh.
[2:04:05] Speaker 1: We'll see. All right. Well, let's keep this thing moving.
[2:04:07] Speaker 1: Let's wrap up today. I was about to say. This
[2:04:09] Speaker 1: is going to be a quick one. All right?
[2:04:11] Speaker 2: Okay.
[2:04:11] Speaker 1: We all got things to do.
[2:04:11] Speaker 2: All right?
[2:04:13] Speaker 1: It is tax season. Make sure you get kickoff. Gotta
[2:04:15] Speaker 1: go see this gas, man. Let's wrap up today with
[2:04:19] Speaker 1: our playoff picks. Throughout the postseason, we'll be making team
[2:04:23] Speaker 1: picks using underdogs prediction markets, which you can do as well.
[2:04:26] Speaker 1: We'll keep a lead report of the couch's picks throughout
[2:04:28] Speaker 1: the entire playoff. Let's take a look at the updated
[2:04:30] Speaker 1: standings if we can, please. Wait, wait, wait. Hell no.
[2:04:34] Speaker 2: I had two. Who?
[2:04:36] Speaker 4: The last day I picked Orlando and I.
[2:04:41] Speaker 1: Picked We can go back. You know we can go back.
[2:04:43] Speaker 1: I'm not saying we can go back and look at this.
[2:04:45] Speaker 2: I picked Orlando and who was the other one? Phoenix.
[2:04:50] Speaker 2: I picked Orlando and Phoenix.
[2:04:51] Speaker 1: Everybody had 50% except. Shot in first place. Who did
[2:04:55] Speaker 1: Phoenix get? The most right picks, but also the most wrong,
[2:04:57] Speaker 1: but three for three. So who can we pick tonight?
[2:04:59] Speaker 1: K and Gil and Mr. B, two for two. Swaggy,
[2:05:03] Speaker 1: one for five currently. We will talk to the folks
[2:05:05] Speaker 1: over at Underdog.
[2:05:06] Speaker 2: Yeah, because I didn't pick the Warriors.
[2:05:07] Speaker 1: You picked the Warriors.
[2:05:08] Speaker 2: They got their ass whooped. Yeah, I didn't pick the Warriors.
[2:05:10] Speaker 1: That's the one we lost. I know, yeah, that's the
[2:05:11] Speaker 1: one we lost.
[2:05:12] Speaker 2: No, I didn't pick the Warriors. Yeah, you picked Phoenix.
[2:05:15] Speaker 1: I know, that's the one you want.
[2:05:16] Speaker 2: Yeah, I picked Phoenix.
[2:05:16] Speaker 1: You picked Phoenix.
[2:05:17] Speaker 2: And I picked Orlando.
[2:05:19] Speaker 1: I didn't pick no fucking Hornets. No, you did. You
[2:05:22] Speaker 1: did pick the Hornets.
[2:05:22] Speaker 2: You did pick the Hornets.
[2:05:23] Speaker 1: You did pick the Hornets. No, I didn't.
[2:05:24] Speaker 2: Everybody picked the Hornets. I said I'm going to.
[2:05:27] Speaker 4: Pick Orlando because every pick I've been doing, I want
[2:05:30] Speaker 4: the Hornets to win.
[2:05:31] Speaker 1: I'm going to pick Orlando. Okay, well, we can go
[2:05:33] Speaker 1: back and look at it.
[2:05:34] Speaker 2: If you are, we'll review your point.
[2:05:36] Speaker 1: Swaggy, the underdog staff, hard at work right now reviewing
[2:05:39] Speaker 1: the footage.
[2:05:41] Speaker 4: It could be two and four instead of one and five. Yeah,
[2:05:43] Speaker 4: two and four. See, y'all trying to make me look
[2:05:44] Speaker 4: like this. That's what it is. It's an agenda to
[2:05:46] Speaker 4: keep me down.
[2:05:47] Speaker 2: We'll give you a step in last place. So let's
[2:05:50] Speaker 2: start in Boston.
[2:05:51] Speaker 4: Two and four. We all be two and four right now.
[2:05:54] Speaker 1: No, we two and two.
[2:05:55] Speaker 2: No. All right, so.
[2:05:57] Speaker 1: What games we got? Let's start in Boston. Celtics with
[2:05:59] Speaker 1: an absolute blowout win in game one. Leave me no doubt.
[2:06:01] Speaker 1: Tonight in game two.
[2:06:02] Speaker 2: Boston.
[2:06:03] Speaker 1: Celtics monster favorites. 89% chance to win. Canyon, you've already
[2:06:06] Speaker 1: said Boston. Right. Sean, where you going? Boston. Okay, we
[2:06:09] Speaker 1: got two Boston. Can I get a... We're Boston. All right,
[2:06:12] Speaker 1: we have a unanimous couch. I like Victor Wimiyama's unanimous
[2:06:15] Speaker 1: defensive player of the year. All four members of the
[2:06:18] Speaker 1: couch pick in Boston. Let's move on. Blazers show some
[2:06:21] Speaker 1: promise in game one, but ultimately winning the Spurs turned
[2:06:23] Speaker 1: out to be a bit too much for Portland. Heading
[2:06:26] Speaker 1: into game two, the Spurs have an 85% chance to win,
[2:06:29] Speaker 1: according to the underdog prediction markets. Blazers just a 15%
[2:06:31] Speaker 1: chance to win. Who are we taking?
[2:06:34] Speaker 2: Spurs.
[2:06:34] Speaker 1: Blazers, Spurs.
[2:06:35] Speaker 2: Mr.
[2:06:35] Speaker 1: B says Spurs. Swaggy says Spurs. Kane says Spurs. That
[2:06:41] Speaker 1: was easy. Sean, I'm going to take that as you
[2:06:43] Speaker 1: saying Spurs. Very easy. Last but not least, Lakers and
[2:06:46] Speaker 1: Rockets face off in game two tonight in Los Angeles.
[2:06:49] Speaker 1: I will be there on the ground getting all the news, notes,
[2:06:52] Speaker 1: and information.
[2:06:53] Speaker 2: This is a tough one.
[2:06:54] Speaker 1: Game one did not include Luka, Austin Reeves, or Kevin,
[2:06:56] Speaker 1: Wayne Durant. When will we know.
[2:06:58] Speaker 2: It's KD playing or not?
[2:07:01] Speaker 1: I got Houston tonight.
[2:07:03] Speaker 2: Okay.
[2:07:04] Speaker 1: Wait, let me hold on. Tonight, LeBron and Lakers show
[2:07:06] Speaker 1: slight favorite and underdogs prediction marks, 35% chance to win.
[2:07:10] Speaker 1: Houston with a 65% chance. The Lakers, they're saying, have
[2:07:15] Speaker 1: no chance. What the fuck are y'all doing? I'm going
[2:07:18] Speaker 1: to go with Houston tonight. I predicted that's some bullshit.
[2:07:21] Speaker 1: Who do y'all got in Rockets, Lakers? You said? Houston. Okay,
[2:07:24] Speaker 1: you betrayed your city, Mr. B. Let's go with you.
[2:07:29] Speaker 2: They asked, but.
[2:07:30] Speaker 1: Going with the King.
[2:07:33] Speaker 6: Okay.
[2:07:33] Speaker 1: LeBron Ray on James.
[2:07:35] Speaker 2: There you go.
[2:07:35] Speaker 1: Father of Bronny James. There you go. So we got Rockets, Lakers.
[2:07:41] Speaker 2: Stay true. I got... I can't zip up now. I
[2:07:45] Speaker 2: got to go Houston.
[2:07:47] Speaker 1: Last but not least. With or with no KD.
[2:07:49] Speaker 2: Dr. Rashad McCants. I said the Lakers was going to
[2:07:51] Speaker 2: lose in the first round, so I can't.
[2:07:53] Speaker 1: It's okay. You can change your mind. You've said complimentary
[2:07:55] Speaker 1: things about the Lakers. I'm going to give credit where
[2:07:57] Speaker 1: credit's due.
[2:07:58] Speaker 2: If and when but I think they're going to lose tonight.
[2:08:03] Speaker 2: We'll see. It's just not impressive. It's not impressive.
[2:08:09] Speaker 5: I'm a very hard man to impress. I'm torn, though,
[2:08:11] Speaker 5: because KD plays. I think they still lose. But I
[2:08:17] Speaker 5: want to give them a chance. LA go up 2-0.
[2:08:22] Speaker 5: It's a wrap for this. It's a sweep. So I'm
[2:08:26] Speaker 5: going to go for the sake of the conversation. Me
[2:08:29] Speaker 5: and my standings.
[2:08:32] Speaker 2: You 3-3 now.
[2:08:32] Speaker 1: You 3-3 now. You 3-3 now. You 3-3 now. Got
[2:08:33] Speaker 1: to stay 500. I'm going to go with Houston.
[2:08:35] Speaker 2: I'm going to go with Houston.
[2:08:37] Speaker 1: Unfortunate Turner events. Here on the couch. But we will
[2:08:52] Speaker 1: find out tonight. Make sure you pull up to the
[2:08:53] Speaker 1: Twitch stream. Tonight starting at 7.15 p.m. Pacific, 10.15 p.m.
[2:08:58] Speaker 2: Eastern.
[2:08:59] Speaker 1: Guys on the couch will be watching the Lakers-Rockets game.
[2:09:01] Speaker 1: I will be reporting live from the arena, formerly known.
[2:09:03] Speaker 2: As Staples Center. Come on, Houston. Fuck. I feel like
[2:09:06] Speaker 2: I just made a mistake. Can I take it back?
[2:09:08] Speaker 1: What food y'all going to have tonight, bitch? All L.A. themed.
[2:09:13] Speaker 1: Marathon Burgers. Marathon Kirkers, as they're known by Crip Mac.
[2:09:16] Speaker 2: Hold on, hold on, hold on. I'm going to go
[2:09:18] Speaker 2: to Lakers. I'm going to.
[2:09:20] Speaker 1: Go with the Lakers. Shout out to everybody on the chat.
[2:09:24] Speaker 1: Shout out to everybody on this couch. You are just
[2:09:29] Speaker 1: delaying the inevitable. This has been another episode of Gil's
[2:09:32] Speaker 1: Arena presented by Underdog.
[2:09:34] Speaker 2: We'll see y'all tomorrow.
