The New York Knicks' UNBELIEVABLE Comeback STUNS Gil's Arena as the Gil's Arena Crew reacts to the Knicks pulling off the greatest comeback in NBA Finals history as they erased a 29 point deficit to stun the San Antonio Spurs in Game 4 of the NBA Finals and give their biggest takeaways from one of the greatest NBA Games ever. They break down how OG Anunoby delievered one of the most memorable shots in Knicks history and debate who is most to blame for the Spurs' epic collapse after De'Aaron Fox attempted a bone headed layup in crunch time and Victor Wembanyama wilted in the 4th Quarter. After recapping the best game of the NBA Season they react to OKC Thunder GM Sam Presti clapping back at the flopping narrative surrounding his franchise superstar Shai Gilgeous Alexander and debate if the leader of the Thunder is spitting or tripping with his comments on SGA. Finally, they discuss LeBron James' impending free agency where the Golden State Warriors are quietly emerging as a top suitor, allowing LeBron to team up with other aging legends like Steph Curry & Draymond Green to chase one more ring. [0:02] Speaker 1: Welcome back to Gil's Arena presented by Underdog. Whoa, whoa.
[0:06] Speaker 2: Whoa, whoa. Yeah.
[0:08] Speaker 3: Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
[0:11] Speaker 4: Yeah.
[0:12] Speaker 1: Yeah. B-B-O-G.
[0:19] Speaker 3: B-B-O-G.
[0:21] Speaker 1: Man, you all right?
[0:23] Speaker 3: Ooh, I'm talking spicy hot. Thrilling evening for some. Disappointing
[0:28] Speaker 3: for others. You know we're going to get into it.
[0:32] Speaker 3: It might take the whole show, I'm going to be honest,
[0:33] Speaker 3: but it's going to be worth it. What else is
[0:35] Speaker 3: there to talk about? You know. Can y'all put the
[0:38] Speaker 3: rundown together? I throw other things just in case, but
[0:40] Speaker 3: y'all never let me down. We stay with the main topic.
[0:44] Speaker 3: But this is Gil's Arena presented by Underdog. I'm merely
[0:48] Speaker 3: an award-winning host, Josiah Johnson, and we're joined by NBA
[0:51] Speaker 3: Champion of the World, Swaggy P, Nick Young. Woo! An
[0:57] Speaker 3: interesting jersey you have there, Swaggy. Can you explain to
[0:59] Speaker 3: the people what the Knicks jersey is?
[1:01] Speaker 5: This is like what Bronson and OG did yesterday.
[1:04] Speaker 1: That's a one? It's 11. It's supposed to be 11. Oh, okay.
[1:08] Speaker 1: It's 11 and 8. It's 11 and 8.
[1:09] Speaker 3: Yeah.
[1:10] Speaker 1: Putting their jerseys together.
[1:12] Speaker 5: It just is too close.
[1:14] Speaker 1: Damn.
[1:20] Speaker 3: Sweetie, see the next Swaggy representing a tough crowd. Tough
[1:23] Speaker 3: Crowd University, Tough Crowd Golf, card-carrying country club member, Mr. B.
[1:27] Speaker 3: Brandon Jennings. In this economy, you got more eggs for Wimby.
[1:37] Speaker 3: Sacre bleu. Might have to throw these at somebody today.
[1:39] Speaker 3: Make an omelet. We will talk about that moment amongst
[1:45] Speaker 3: others on the show today. We got one of the
[1:47] Speaker 3: biggest legends in the sports media game, Skip Bayless, back
[1:50] Speaker 3: in the building. one of those days that a team
[2:02] Speaker 3: goes through on this side of the couch we got
[2:04] Speaker 3: this single gentleman from Oak Cliff former number one pick
[2:06] Speaker 3: Kenya Martin.
[2:11] Speaker 1: What's happening Mike and.
[2:13] Speaker 3: Last but not least the man they call Cemetery Larry
[2:15] Speaker 3: NCAA champion of the world Dr. Rashad McCants PhD.
[2:22] Speaker 1: Finish him mmm I'm not three today.
[2:26] Speaker 3: No, that was easy, though. New meaning in the cemetery. Sean,
[2:32] Speaker 3: did you get sufficient sleep last night?
[2:34] Speaker 1: No. You wrestling? I can tell. It was quick. It
[2:37] Speaker 1: was a long night.
[2:40] Speaker 3: We got a lot to discuss. Here's what's cracking in
[2:43] Speaker 3: Gil's arena today. The Knicks came through with the biggest
[2:47] Speaker 3: comeback in NBA Finals history to take a 3-1 series lead.
[2:52] Speaker 3: We look back on one of the greatest games ever.
[2:54] Speaker 3: NBA Finals history. And if we have time, we'll talk
[2:57] Speaker 3: about Thunder GM Sam Presti clapping back at SGA haters
[3:00] Speaker 3: over the foul-baiting narrative. Is he spitting or tripping? We
[3:03] Speaker 3: might not talk about it. Y'all know how we get
[3:05] Speaker 3: down here. And LeBron said to be a free agent
[3:07] Speaker 3: for the first time in nearly a decade. But should
[3:09] Speaker 3: he take a discount to join forces with Steph? Try
[3:13] Speaker 3: to keep their championship window alive. We will discuss if
[3:16] Speaker 3: we can. But before we get into all that, as always,
[3:18] Speaker 3: this show is brought to you by Underdog. Underdog's available
[3:20] Speaker 3: in most states, including Texas, California, and Florida. New customers

[3:38] Speaker 3: wherever you get your podcasts. But you might as well
[3:40] Speaker 3: watch the show live with us on YouTube. You miss
[3:41] Speaker 3: all the great reactions. especially the ones that we're going
[3:44] Speaker 3: to have today. So the Spurs got their first finals
[3:47] Speaker 3: win in Game 3 Monday, guided by a dominant performance
[3:50] Speaker 3: by Wimby. San Antonio snapped the Knicks' 13-game playoff win streak,
[3:54] Speaker 3: giving New York their first loss in the past 46 days.
[3:57] Speaker 3: Road team had won the first three games of the
[3:59] Speaker 3: finals twice in NBA history. Never happened four straight times.
[4:03] Speaker 3: Trump wasn't in the building for this one, but one
[4:05] Speaker 3: of his biggest ops, Taylor Swift, was as the NYPD
[4:09] Speaker 3: kept The heightened security measures at MSG causing James Dolan
[4:12] Speaker 3: to cancel a watch party outside of the arena due
[4:15] Speaker 3: to permitting issues limiting the number of fans that could attend.
[4:18] Speaker 3: It did not matter though. Game four felt like a
[4:20] Speaker 3: must win for both teams. And for the overwhelming majority
[4:23] Speaker 3: of this one, the Spurs looked poised to even the series,
[4:26] Speaker 3: jumping out to a 29 point second half lead and
[4:29] Speaker 3: leading by 20 early in the fourth quarter. But the
[4:32] Speaker 3: Knicks came through with a historic comeback to take a
[4:35] Speaker 3: commanding lead in this series. Let's take a look at
[4:37] Speaker 3: the highlights. This is going to be a very, very
[4:39] Speaker 3: long highlight, ladies and gentlemen. A lot of things to
[4:42] Speaker 3: get into. Spurs looked like they were going to put
[4:43] Speaker 3: the Knicks to bed early. Another dominant first quarter. San
[4:47] Speaker 3: Antonio jumped out to a 22-10 lead, connecting on five
[4:50] Speaker 3: of their first six three-point attempts. Hit six three-pointers in
[4:53] Speaker 3: that first quarter. The most they had hit all season
[4:55] Speaker 3: in the quarter. Wimby and Devin Vassell combined for 25
[4:58] Speaker 3: points in the first frame, with Vassell going three for
[5:02] Speaker 3: three from distance. Meanwhile, New York struggled to find their offense.
[5:04] Speaker 3: They were five for 17 from the field. in that
[5:07] Speaker 3: first period. Spurs shot a staggering 65% and 60% from
[5:11] Speaker 3: three in the first frame. Outscored the Knicks 41-22, the
[5:14] Speaker 3: 19-point lead, the largest first quarter lead by a road
[5:16] Speaker 3: team in NBA Finals history. Spurs have had double-digit leads
[5:19] Speaker 3: in each of those first quarters. They continue to pile
[5:22] Speaker 3: it on in the second quarter with a balanced scoring
[5:23] Speaker 3: attack with four players and double figures. Knicks trailed by
[5:28] Speaker 3: as much as 29 in that second frame, their largest
[5:32] Speaker 3: deficit this postseason. Spurs shot 60% from the field, 54%
[5:35] Speaker 3: from three, setting a finals record with 14 threes in
[5:40] Speaker 3: the first half. Their 76 points was the most in
[5:44] Speaker 3: the first half by a team in NBA Finals history,
[5:46] Speaker 3: and their 27-point lead was the largest by a road
[5:48] Speaker 3: team in NBA Finals history, excluding the 2020 bubble playoffs,
[5:52] Speaker 3: which we all know the Lakers won the hardest championship
[5:54] Speaker 3: in NBA history. Spurs increased early to 29 with a
[5:57] Speaker 3: little over nine minutes remaining in the third quarter, but
[5:59] Speaker 3: then it all came crashing down as the Knicks looked
[6:01] Speaker 3: like a completely different team in the second half. New
[6:04] Speaker 3: York held the Spurs to 14 points on four of
[6:06] Speaker 3: 20 shooting in that third period while going on a
[6:08] Speaker 3: 13-0 run to cut the deficit to 16 with under
[6:11] Speaker 3: six minutes remaining. Knicks outscored the Spurs 26-14 in the
[6:14] Speaker 3: third quarter, trailed by 15 heading into that final frame.
[6:17] Speaker 3: In the fourth quarter, New York kept on rolling, going
[6:21] Speaker 3: on a 24-run, a 20-4 run, thanks in large part
[6:25] Speaker 3: to plays like this. Jose Alvarado representing the New York native.
[6:32] Speaker 3: Cat said, meow. Got some fourth quarter points for the
[6:35] Speaker 3: first time in this series. OG Ananobi. He's from London.
[6:42] Speaker 3: Hit that three to cap off that 20-4 run. Cut
[6:44] Speaker 3: the deficit to four with a little over four minutes remaining.
[6:47] Speaker 3: Spurs push their lead back up to seven. But Jose
[6:50] Speaker 3: Alvarado and Jalen Brunson came through with back-to-back threes. Brunson
[6:53] Speaker 3: hitting this one in Wimby's grill to make it a
[6:56] Speaker 3: one-point game.
[6:58] Speaker 1: Josh Hart. Josh Hart had the chance.
[7:01] Speaker 3: To put the Knicks up one, but he ewing the
[7:03] Speaker 3: layup with under two minutes to go. Could have been
[7:06] Speaker 3: the biggest blunder in Knicks franchise history. Wimby had a
[7:09] Speaker 3: chance to extend the Spurs lead to six with two
[7:11] Speaker 3: free throws. Lay trick, lay brick for both of those.
[7:17] Speaker 3: Jalen Brunson hit the floater to give the Knicks their
[7:20] Speaker 3: first lead of the game. Then, Castle fouled by Josh Hart.
[7:29] Speaker 3: Put the Spurs back up one. And then one of
[7:32] Speaker 3: the most questionable players in the game, Brunson, trying to
[7:35] Speaker 3: give the Knicks the lead back.
[7:37] Speaker 1: Missed the shot. De'Aaron Fox ends up with it.
[7:40] Speaker 3: Some say he could have dribbled off the clock, ladies
[7:41] Speaker 3: and gentlemen. He tried to go for the layup, but
[7:42] Speaker 3: blocked by O.G. De'Aaron Fox foul saved him from a
[7:47] Speaker 3: potential backcourt violation by Alvarado. And then on the Knicks'
[7:50] Speaker 3: final possession, O.G. came through with the tip-in, seam round,
[7:55] Speaker 3: the basketball world. Give the Knicks the lead in front
[8:00] Speaker 3: of Ben Stiller, Fat Joe, and others. Josh Hart saved
[8:05] Speaker 3: the day. Delivered the defensive stop on Stephon Castle to
[8:08] Speaker 3: seal the Knicks win. Look at Madison Square Garden, ladies
[8:11] Speaker 3: and gentlemen. Look at the people. That's how an arena's
[8:15] Speaker 3: supposed to look. Knicks came through with the largest comeback
[8:17] Speaker 3: in NBA Finals history to take a commanding 3-1 lead
[8:20] Speaker 3: in the series. Here was the post-game reaction from both sides.
[8:25] Speaker 3: Got the ball to Jalen.
[8:26] Speaker 6: He got a good look, and I just crashed and
[8:28] Speaker 6: went for the ball.
[8:30] Speaker 4: You make it sound so easy, but tell me what's
[8:32] Speaker 4: going through your mind as it's all unfolding.
[8:34] Speaker 6: Oh, just do whatever it takes to win, you know?
[8:35] Speaker 6: I mean, our thing is practicing. I love you, man!
[8:38] Speaker 6: I think it's practicing the glass, and second chance opportunities,
[8:42] Speaker 6: I just try to.
[8:43] Speaker 3: Make a play. OG, how did this happen?
[8:45] Speaker 2: You guys were down 29.
[8:46] Speaker 3: How did this happen?
[8:47] Speaker 6: Oh, we're resilient, you know?
[8:49] Speaker 3: We never give up, you know?
[8:50] Speaker 6: It's a game of runs.
[8:51] Speaker 3: They want to run early.
[8:52] Speaker 1: We knew we were going to go on our own.
[8:54] Speaker 6: Runs, so we can stay with it, kept pushing.
[8:55] Speaker 1: Can I really explain it right now? I don't know.
[8:57] Speaker 3: I think it's just, I mean, execution....
[9:01] Speaker 7: Greediness of some sort. We clearly weren't the most hungry
[9:06] Speaker 7: in the second half.
[9:08] Speaker 2: Victor, obviously this is very painful. What's going through your
[9:12] Speaker 2: mind right now?
[9:14] Speaker 7: What's going through my mind right now, I think it's
[9:15] Speaker 7: going to go one of two ways. One of two ways,
[9:19] Speaker 7: and a bad one and a good one. And I
[9:21] Speaker 7: know the bad one would be giving up. The good
[9:24] Speaker 7: one would be getting stronger through this, getting more together,
[9:27] Speaker 7: and I know this is what we're going to do.
[9:29] Speaker 3: What was going through your mind as you walked off
[9:31] Speaker 3: the floor?
[9:31] Speaker 7: I don't know about the emotions, but it was painful,
[9:35] Speaker 7: of course. It feels like we're missing, we work too
[9:43] Speaker 7: hard and give up our leads, you know, just as
[9:45] Speaker 7: simple as that.
[9:46] Speaker 3: It just hurts.
[9:47] Speaker 1: I don't know if there's a play bigger than any
[9:52] Speaker 1: other play in the history of Knicks basketball.
[9:56] Speaker 3: So, Brunson finished with a game-high 36 points on 12
[9:58] Speaker 3: of 25, shooting along with seven assists. O.J. Ananobi, playoff
[10:01] Speaker 3: career high 33 points, 10 for 15 from the field,
[10:04] Speaker 3: seven for nine from deep, including that game-winning tip-in. Cat
[10:07] Speaker 3: was the only other Knick in double figures, 13 of
[10:09] Speaker 3: 10 boards. Victor Wimbinyama led the Spurs with 24 points,
[10:13] Speaker 3: 13 rebounds, and three blocks. Nine for 25 from the field,
[10:17] Speaker 3: three of 14 in the second half. Dylan Harper, 21
[10:19] Speaker 3: off the bench. Darren Fox and Devin LaSalle both had 18.
[10:23] Speaker 3: Knicks trailed by 17 with less than nine minutes to go.
[10:26] Speaker 3: Entering this game, teams were 0-96 when trailing by 17
[10:30] Speaker 3: points in the final nine minutes of regulation in the
[10:32] Speaker 3: past 35 years. Knicks made that 1-96, outscoring the Spurs
[10:37] Speaker 3: 32-11 over the final nine-plus minutes of the game. Spurs
[10:40] Speaker 3: were 2-11, shooting in that time frame. Knicks got their
[10:44] Speaker 3: fifth 20-point comeback win in the last two playoffs. So
[10:49] Speaker 3: we had a coin toss before the show started. The
[10:52] Speaker 3: Knicks fans won the coin toss, elected to defer to
[10:54] Speaker 3: the second half. So they wanted to start with you,
[10:57] Speaker 3: Cemetery Larry. What were your biggest takeaways from the Knicks'
[11:00] Speaker 3: historic comeback win over the Spurs in game four?
[11:06] Speaker 4: I think what everybody else would think is just disappointment immediately.
[11:12] Speaker 4: 30-point lead, can't give that up. It's a lot of
[11:16] Speaker 4: coaching involved. I think We can all point the finger
[11:20] Speaker 4: at Darren Fox, not dribbling the ball out. Wimby's two
[11:25] Speaker 4: free throws. The keep your foot on the gas mentality
[11:31] Speaker 4: that you have to have when you're up. And it's
[11:33] Speaker 4: a game of runs and you've got to sustain. I
[11:35] Speaker 4: think we just lost all composure, especially when you're on
[11:39] Speaker 4: the road like that. The energy's up. You can see
[11:43] Speaker 4: how a team could lose their edge, and they lost
[11:45] Speaker 4: their edge quickly. Brunson did what he was supposed to do.
[11:49] Speaker 3: O.G.
[11:49] Speaker 1: Came up.
[11:50] Speaker 4: I think that's the one guy. Since Bridges is not
[11:52] Speaker 4: going to show up this series, it's going to be O.G.
[11:55] Speaker 4: And I love what he's bringing to the table. He's
[11:56] Speaker 4: hitting big shots, making big plays. Spurs didn't show up. Accountability,
[12:02] Speaker 4: we take the L. You got to take the L
[12:03] Speaker 4: because it's nasty. But I ain't going to fight back.
[12:09] Speaker 3: You're just dead.
[12:10] Speaker 1: You have decided to concede. I will. I'll take my L's.
[12:14] Speaker 1: When I get them. Have you laid down the spike
[12:15] Speaker 1: bat shots? No, no, no. Okay, still holding the spike bat?
[12:17] Speaker 1: I'm going to go down swinging now.
[12:19] Speaker 3: Still swinging. Kenny, let's shift over to you. Former New
[12:24] Speaker 3: York Knick. Man of the people. Seen you clapping back
[12:29] Speaker 3: at unruly fans during the watch party last night. Never
[12:33] Speaker 3: wanted to tolerate any disrespect in any way, shape, or form.
[12:36] Speaker 8: Yeah, the game was out of control when that was
[12:37] Speaker 8: going on. They was down like. 25 when I had
[12:41] Speaker 8: time you had time but then yeah when the game
[12:43] Speaker 8: got good.
[12:44] Speaker 3: Yeah.
[12:44] Speaker 1: Yeah, I liked it What.
[12:46] Speaker 3: Are your biggest takeaways from the Knicks historic? Comeback win
[12:50] Speaker 3: overcame a 29-point deficit in front of Taylor Swift to
[12:53] Speaker 3: take a 3-1 series lead over the Spurs.
[12:55] Speaker 8: Yeah, it's it's funny that Rashad presented that question yesterday
[13:00] Speaker 8: and What with the how would the Knicks respond if
[13:05] Speaker 8: they got down 20 in the first half? And now
[13:08] Speaker 8: we see how they will respond. I said I don't
[13:12] Speaker 8: think they would quit, and they did not. Yeah, you
[13:17] Speaker 8: don't get to the finals, man, and have any quit
[13:19] Speaker 8: in you. And you don't win that many games in
[13:22] Speaker 8: a row and not have any quit in you. So
[13:25] Speaker 8: this game was a microcosm of that. They displayed togetherness.
[13:34] Speaker 8: They displayed toughness, mental toughness. physical toughness um and on
[13:40] Speaker 8: the other side the Spurs they played not to lose
[13:45] Speaker 8: that game instead of to go win it um you
[13:47] Speaker 8: got this team down big you know they're going to
[13:49] Speaker 8: keep fighting so you have to approach it and come
[13:52] Speaker 8: with the same kind of tenacity that you did to
[13:55] Speaker 8: start the game with and I said it had to
[13:57] Speaker 8: like me and Brandon was and I and I said
[13:59] Speaker 8: yesterday during the watch party that the best thing the
[14:03] Speaker 8: Knicks got going for them and the worst thing that
[14:05] Speaker 8: got happened was halftime, right? So halftime happened, Knicks got
[14:13] Speaker 8: a chance to regroup, and the Spurs kind of let
[14:16] Speaker 8: off the gas in the second half, and the Knicks
[14:18] Speaker 8: just kept plugging away, plugging away, plugging away.
[14:21] Speaker 1: It made it a game.
[14:24] Speaker 8: And OG Ananobi, man, I was saying it throughout the
[14:27] Speaker 8: course of the game, He is keeping this thing as
[14:30] Speaker 8: close as it can possibly be. He kept that thing
[14:33] Speaker 8: afloat during the course. Jalen Brunson was solid throughout the game,
[14:36] Speaker 8: but OG made timely shots, 7 for 9 from three,
[14:40] Speaker 8: 10 for 15 from the field. Man, he played outstanding.
[14:46] Speaker 8: And not to mention the block that he had on
[14:49] Speaker 8: De'Aaron Fox. Because they would have had to foul if
[14:52] Speaker 8: De'Aaron Fox would have dribbled it out. They would have
[14:53] Speaker 8: had to foul. So, yeah, it was a brain fart.
[14:59] Speaker 8: on his behalf, but the game was historic. We all
[15:06] Speaker 8: know when you're up that big in a playoff game,
[15:09] Speaker 8: especially in the finals game, you have to put teams away.
[15:14] Speaker 1: The Knicks kept fighting.
[15:15] Speaker 8: The crowd got back and got involved in the game
[15:18] Speaker 8: because they were sitting on their hands for three and
[15:20] Speaker 8: a half quarters. Spurs was in control of it, man,
[15:25] Speaker 8: but It was a good game to watch. It was
[15:28] Speaker 8: a good game to be able to do what we're
[15:33] Speaker 8: doing right now, to be a part of it, to
[15:36] Speaker 8: give our two cents on the things that we see
[15:38] Speaker 8: and the things that's going on. But, yeah, man, it
[15:42] Speaker 8: was a must win for both teams, like I said yesterday.
[15:44] Speaker 8: And the Spurs came out as such, and the Knicks
[15:47] Speaker 8: kept fighting as such.
[15:50] Speaker 1: And the Knicks came out on top. So now it's
[15:52] Speaker 1: on the Spurs to regroup. Knicks down 27 at halftime.
[15:57] Speaker 3: Then the Wu-Tang Clan performed from the slums of Shaolin.
[16:02] Speaker 3: Some say Wimmy should have went to that Shaolin instead
[16:04] Speaker 3: of the one in China.
[16:05] Speaker 1: He did not. He did too.
[16:08] Speaker 3: Don't you put that thing somewhere else. He found out
[16:10] Speaker 3: about the slums of Shaolin. Wu-Tang Clan strikes again. But Swag,
[16:14] Speaker 3: let's move on to you.
[16:17] Speaker 5: Go New York, go New York, go, go.
[16:20] Speaker 1: Oh, you don't like that? V, V, O-G, O-G. You
[16:25] Speaker 1: got to put some longer shorts on.
[16:26] Speaker 5: No, they should have put some longer shorts on last night.
[16:30] Speaker 1: Come in here.
[16:31] Speaker 3: Daisy Dukes on, twerking on the couch.
[16:33] Speaker 1: Look at that boy.
[16:34] Speaker 3: That's what we do, baby. This is how we live
[16:36] Speaker 3: in New York, son.
[16:37] Speaker 1: Get this shit together, man.
[16:38] Speaker 3: Y'all figure that out yesterday, son.
[16:41] Speaker 1: Word to bunk, son. Word to bunk.
[16:43] Speaker 3: Yeah.
[16:43] Speaker 1: Hey, Lord. Hey, God. You seen what happened? 20 point,
[16:48] Speaker 1: 29 point lead.
[16:51] Speaker 5: Oh, man, I'm going to be watching this on 30
[16:53] Speaker 5: for 30 with my son in like 10 years. I'm like,
[16:55] Speaker 5: I've witnessed this, son, back in the day. They had
[16:59] Speaker 5: a 29-point lead. Now they got a documentary.
[17:04] Speaker 3: It's crazy, man.
[17:05] Speaker 1: I love it.
[17:06] Speaker 5: I love what– but I never really counted the Knicks
[17:09] Speaker 5: out because they did something like this against the Cavs.
[17:15] Speaker 5: Down 22 in that fourth quarter. So I just kept saying,
[17:19] Speaker 5: they get it down to 10, they got a chance.
[17:21] Speaker 5: They get it down to 10, they got a chance.
[17:22] Speaker 5: And it was coaching. It was coaching, I felt like, too.
[17:25] Speaker 5: The fact that you could take out Bridges and play
[17:30] Speaker 5: Alvarado just basically the whole second half down there. Bridges
[17:34] Speaker 5: wasn't giving you nothing. Alvarado came with some energy. Mike
[17:37] Speaker 5: Brown was searching for energy, searching for somebody to You know,
[17:42] Speaker 5: to spark something. And I think Alvarado did that. Shout
[17:45] Speaker 5: out to my corners.
[17:49] Speaker 1: O.G. O.G. O.G. got a dope statue coming. You're going
[17:52] Speaker 1: to see this on many finals.
[17:55] Speaker 5: You know, when they start the finals, before the finals start,
[17:58] Speaker 5: the video that Michael Jordan pulled back on with Russell.
[18:01] Speaker 1: You're going to see O.G. flying. The O.G. tipping. The
[18:04] Speaker 1: tipping scene around the world. It's going to be a
[18:05] Speaker 1: great statue outside of the Garden. They just balled out. Brunson.
[18:11] Speaker 1: Brunson was like, huh, I'm the face of the league.
[18:15] Speaker 3: Sorry.
[18:15] Speaker 1: He said what? Sorry, Wimpy. Sorry.
[18:17] Speaker 5: I know they're cheating for you, getting towns and foul trouble,
[18:21] Speaker 5: reversing fouls. Like, that was crazy. Like, they was trying hard.
[18:26] Speaker 5: The league was trying very hard. You revert a foul?
[18:30] Speaker 5: That was crazy. They say, towns, you're getting foul trouble.
[18:34] Speaker 5: Get your ass out. We ain't going to put Wimpy
[18:37] Speaker 5: out the game.
[18:38] Speaker 3: After all that? After all that.
[18:40] Speaker 1: Mm-hmm. Bronson came down, stepped back, missed. OG. OG.
[18:50] Speaker 5: And, you know, the young coach, he kind of, you know, hey, man,
[18:57] Speaker 5: he ain't got the experience.
[18:59] Speaker 3: Everybody now pops sometimes.
[19:00] Speaker 1: He fucked up. You can't say he's not a good coach.
[19:03] Speaker 3: You got him.
[19:04] Speaker 1: But.
[19:05] Speaker 5: The lack of experience shows a little bit. And you
[19:08] Speaker 5: can't blame everything on Fox, that last play. You can't
[19:12] Speaker 5: try to blame Fox for that. Being up 29, you're
[19:17] Speaker 5: going to blame the last play on Fox. Being up 29,
[19:21] Speaker 5: you're going to blame the last play on Fox.
[19:23] Speaker 1: It don't matter. Up 29.
[19:25] Speaker 3: 29. 29.
[19:28] Speaker 4: 29. He was up seven and you turned it over
[19:31] Speaker 4: three times.
[19:32] Speaker 3: He was up, what, four and you, two and you
[19:34] Speaker 3: missed two free throws.
[19:35] Speaker 1: You can blame a lot of it on him. Yeah,
[19:38] Speaker 1: I'm just saying.
[19:39] Speaker 5: And it's supposed to be your star. Y'all, second running MVP.
[19:44] Speaker 5: Y'all don't want to blame Wimpy, huh?
[19:46] Speaker 1: He had, what, four points?
[19:47] Speaker 5: He missed two free throws. He missed two free throws.
[19:49] Speaker 5: He had four points. in the fourth quarter.
[19:50] Speaker 1: Yeah, and he didn't have enough points. Four points in
[19:53] Speaker 1: the fourth quarter. And we going to blame Fox?
[19:56] Speaker 3: Big five points right here. I think we may have five,
[19:58] Speaker 3: but neither here nor there. Four or five, it don't matter.
[20:01] Speaker 3: It's one more point than four.
[20:03] Speaker 5: It don't matter. They lost by one, right? So he
[20:05] Speaker 5: should have had more than one.
[20:07] Speaker 1: One for four from the free throw line in that
[20:08] Speaker 1: fourth quarter.
[20:09] Speaker 3: How many? One for four.
[20:11] Speaker 1: From the free throw line? And he blaming Fox. Is
[20:18] Speaker 1: that the lay choke?
[20:20] Speaker 2: Yeah.
[20:20] Speaker 1: Okay, lay choke. Sacre bleu. Oh, let's move on body bag. Oh,
[20:26] Speaker 1: what next Monday?
[20:28] Speaker 4: Who's ain't money? I'm gonna sit on top of the
[20:30] Speaker 4: couch like you did Yeah, be like me Nick Let's
[20:35] Speaker 4: shift over. You like me to mr. Be like me Nick.
[20:39] Speaker 1: Yeah loss. You like me Nick? Mr.
[20:43] Speaker 3: B supporting the Bucks Not in the playoffs, but supporting
[20:46] Speaker 3: the Bucks. Nonetheless, mr. Bucks is six also former Nick. Hmm.
[20:49] Speaker 1: Oh Former Knicks, Brandon Jennings. What the fuck that got
[20:52] Speaker 1: to do with today? I got a meeting.
[20:54] Speaker 3: I got to go see what's going on with Giannis. Mr.
[20:58] Speaker 1: B to save the day.
[20:59] Speaker 3: Biggest takeaways from that Knicks historic win? Epic meltdown by
[21:04] Speaker 3: the Spurs?
[21:05] Speaker 9: It was ugly early for the Knicks. Cat got two
[21:09] Speaker 9: fouls in the first with 65 seconds. Mike Brown, he
[21:14] Speaker 9: played 12 players in like 14 minutes. So he was
[21:16] Speaker 9: trying to find anything or anything to get him going.
[21:20] Speaker 9: The Spurs, they came out on fire, man. They were
[21:22] Speaker 9: on fire. They did what they needed to do in
[21:24] Speaker 9: the first half. When Wimby did this, he was in
[21:27] Speaker 9: his head right after that moment. Wimby went for it
[21:30] Speaker 9: for 18 and 19.
[21:31] Speaker 1: After the Mitchell Robinson play. Yeah, for that moment.
[21:33] Speaker 3: But you got to give it to Alvarado too, man.
[21:35] Speaker 9: I think the adjustment with Mike Brown bringing Alvarado in,
[21:39] Speaker 9: being able to bring in a second ball handler, to
[21:41] Speaker 9: make sure that Brunson is not being guarded 94 feet,
[21:44] Speaker 9: I think helped him out a lot. He won't probably
[21:46] Speaker 9: show up in the stat sheet, but he was plus 11.
[21:48] Speaker 1: I think that was their first time playing together.
[21:52] Speaker 9: Yeah, since the whole series, so that was big. Then
[21:54] Speaker 9: you got O.G., who saved the day for Josh Hart.
[21:57] Speaker 9: I mean, also, if Josh Hart missed the layup, he
[22:01] Speaker 9: didn't box out, so it was a lot of things
[22:03] Speaker 9: that O.G. did to where I also said that he
[22:06] Speaker 9: was going to be the X factor in this series,
[22:08] Speaker 9: and he's been showing it. And then just to know adjustments, man,
[22:11] Speaker 9: just to know adjustments from from the Spurs, no leadership
[22:15] Speaker 9: being down. You know, we can blame D-Fox all we want. But,
[22:19] Speaker 9: you know, that's on the coach, too. You know, Dylan Harper,
[22:22] Speaker 9: he was doing his thing. He was eight for 12.
[22:24] Speaker 3: I don't know why he wasn't in there doing, you know, being.
[22:27] Speaker 9: Able to get shot. So it's a it's a collective thing.
[22:30] Speaker 9: You know, you can blame it on Wimby free throws,
[22:31] Speaker 9: the coaching, everything. But the series is over. You know,
[22:35] Speaker 9: they they needed to win that game. That was a
[22:39] Speaker 9: big meltdown. I mean, they're young right now. This team
[22:41] Speaker 9: will be back, though. But this is going to be
[22:43] Speaker 9: a long summer. And it's, you know, I think, you know,
[22:47] Speaker 9: they're creating some villains over there, man.
[22:50] Speaker 3: These young boys are going to be back. But this
[22:51] Speaker 3: one is over. Villain origin story. Dylan Harper, I don't think,
[22:54] Speaker 3: didn't take a shot for the last 10 minutes of
[22:56] Speaker 3: the fourth quarter.
[22:56] Speaker 1: Yes. Crazy. Which is wild.
[22:59] Speaker 3: But let's move on to former Spurs fan, current Oklahoma
[23:02] Speaker 3: City Thunder fan.
[23:03] Speaker 2: Yeah.
[23:04] Speaker 1: Skip Baylor.
[23:04] Speaker 3: Skip.
[23:06] Speaker 1: Seen a lot of basketball.
[23:07] Speaker 3: What's your reaction to the Knicks coming through with a
[23:10] Speaker 3: historic comeback win to take a 3-1 lead?
[23:14] Speaker 2: By the way, speaking of your Bucs and Giannis, Kenyon
[23:17] Speaker 2: made an extraordinary point yesterday. I had not thought about
[23:21] Speaker 2: Giannis to the Knicks next year, win, lose, or draw
[23:25] Speaker 2: in these finals. And the more I thought about it,
[23:27] Speaker 2: the more I liked it. It got so bad in
[23:31] Speaker 2: the first half, I was thinking maybe they should go
[23:34] Speaker 2: get Giannis at halftime.
[23:35] Speaker 3: Seriously.
[23:36] Speaker 2: Because that's the only way they're going to save themselves.
[23:41] Speaker 2: Because if that outcome had held from halftime on, goes
[23:48] Speaker 2: from 76 points in the first half to 40 in
[23:50] Speaker 2: the second half, it tied for the greatest decrease, the
[23:55] Speaker 2: biggest decrease in points from first half to second half
[23:59] Speaker 2: Ever in the playoffs since there was play-by-play.
[24:04] Speaker 3: I think it's 1955.
[24:05] Speaker 1: Ooh.
[24:05] Speaker 3: Different time.
[24:08] Speaker 2: And Rashad.
[24:11] Speaker 1: Many moons ago.
[24:12] Speaker 2: Seriously, I think you're going to need an eight-foot body
[24:16] Speaker 2: bag before this is over.
[24:17] Speaker 1: I do.
[24:18] Speaker 2: Because your man in the second half was a disaster.
[24:24] Speaker 2: That's three of 14. That's two of nine in the
[24:28] Speaker 2: fourth quarter.
[24:29] Speaker 3: Ooh.
[24:30] Speaker 2: That's two huge missed free throws with 147 left that
[24:35] Speaker 2: you just can't. And in the fourth quarter, he missed
[24:37] Speaker 2: three total out of four free throws. In the second half,
[24:42] Speaker 2: the alien had zero defensive rebounds. That's impossible. He could
[24:48] Speaker 2: just stand flat-footed and get three defensive rebounds. And he
[24:54] Speaker 2: had in the second half zero blocks. What? That guy?
[25:00] Speaker 2: And I keep hearing, well, he ran out of gas
[25:03] Speaker 2: because he played all of but 58 seconds of the
[25:06] Speaker 2: second half. But I can make the flip side case.
[25:10] Speaker 2: He's 22 years old, and where Mitch Johnson would be
[25:14] Speaker 2: on the hot seat is if he didn't play wimpy
[25:16] Speaker 2: enough in the second half, if he sat him for
[25:19] Speaker 2: half the third quarter or whatever. He played him, and
[25:23] Speaker 2: that happened. So was he out of gas in the
[25:26] Speaker 2: fourth quarter? I It's just hard for me to believe
[25:29] Speaker 2: a 22-year-old is out of gas. That's just me. Now,
[25:36] Speaker 2: to your point about Mike Brown, the gutsiest, shrewdest coaching
[25:45] Speaker 2: move I've ever seen in a finals game was with
[25:48] Speaker 2: Jose Alvarado. Because you just don't do that. You can't
[25:52] Speaker 2: do that to... to Nick's point that they'd never played
[25:56] Speaker 2: together one minute of their, their NBA lives. And you
[26:01] Speaker 2: throw him out there for 10 minutes in the fourth quarter.
[26:04] Speaker 2: And guess what? Did he ever make you look genius?
[26:09] Speaker 2: Cause he makes all three of his shots and he
[26:12] Speaker 2: makes two threes and they're huge and they come bam, bam, bam. And,
[26:17] Speaker 2: and they, they literally, that was the catalyst to the
[26:20] Speaker 2: fourth quarter was little Jose Alvarado playing with little Jalen
[26:24] Speaker 2: Brunson and, It's impossibly great. And in the grand scheme,
[26:30] Speaker 2: I have been doing this for a while. After it ended,
[26:35] Speaker 2: I sat back and tried to think if I've ever
[26:37] Speaker 2: seen anything more miraculous in my life, my career. I
[26:44] Speaker 2: have not. The closest thing I saw to it was
[26:47] Speaker 2: in a Super Bowl game. Brandon and I talked about
[26:49] Speaker 2: it before the show.
[26:50] Speaker 3: Patriots.
[26:50] Speaker 2: And Tom Brady and company, It's in Houston, Texas. It's
[26:54] Speaker 2: a Super Bowl game on a neutral field. They're down 28-3,
[26:58] Speaker 2: two minutes left in the third quarter. Wow. 28-3. But
[27:04] Speaker 2: the reason this eclipsed it was that's Tom Brady who
[27:08] Speaker 2: already had four rings thanks to four game-winning drives in
[27:13] Speaker 2: fourth quarters of those four Super Bowls that he had
[27:16] Speaker 2: already won.
[27:17] Speaker 1: Well.
[27:18] Speaker 2: I'm not shocked that he could do that again against
[27:21] Speaker 2: that team because it was the Atlanta Falcons coached by
[27:24] Speaker 2: Dan Quinn, Matt Ryan at quarterback, and they don't have
[27:27] Speaker 2: an alien. The Falcons don't have an alien. They don't
[27:30] Speaker 2: have that guy where you say, they did it to
[27:32] Speaker 2: that guy? No, they were just the Falcons, and these
[27:36] Speaker 2: were the Patriots, and the final score was 40, what
[27:42] Speaker 2: was it, 42, I'll get it here, 34-28 in overtime.
[27:45] Speaker 3: Okay.
[27:45] Speaker 1: Okay.
[27:49] Speaker 2: Now, to the fourth quarter. Here's the damnedest part of
[27:54] Speaker 2: this to me, after I looked really hard at it
[27:56] Speaker 2: this morning. The Knicks won in spite of themselves in
[28:02] Speaker 2: the last two minutes because they did their damnedest to
[28:08] Speaker 2: blow this game that they had gotten back in in
[28:11] Speaker 2: the last two minutes. If you look hard at this,
[28:14] Speaker 2: Josh Hart was on the hook to go down in
[28:18] Speaker 2: Nick's infamy because he was an all-time nightmare, not only
[28:23] Speaker 2: in the fourth quarter, but especially in the last two minutes.
[28:26] Speaker 2: Josh Hart was the most dependable Nick. It So we
[28:33] Speaker 2: start at 157 left. He's got the steal and the breakaway.
[28:37] Speaker 2: And he gets out of rhythm. And it's just a
[28:39] Speaker 2: lot of pressure, man. And he hadn't done this before.
[28:43] Speaker 2: And as you know, he lost his sort of feet. Like,
[28:46] Speaker 2: am I going to dunk it or am I going
[28:48] Speaker 2: to lay it in? Am I going to dunk it
[28:49] Speaker 2: or lay it in? At the last second, I think
[28:50] Speaker 2: I better. I screwed up. I better lay it in.
[28:52] Speaker 1: Smoke it. We call it he smoked it.
[28:55] Speaker 2: He smoked it. Off the back iron.
[28:58] Speaker 1: Past the joint. Okay. All right. He passes to Wimby.
[29:02] Speaker 2: Okay, and that's for the lead, and it just takes
[29:06] Speaker 2: the heart out of the building for a second. Like, oh,
[29:08] Speaker 2: we got the... No, you don't have the lead. Then
[29:11] Speaker 2: Wimby did miss the two free throws, and then it
[29:14] Speaker 2: goes back and forth.
[29:15] Speaker 1: He didn't make either one?
[29:17] Speaker 3: He didn't make either one of those free throws?
[29:18] Speaker 1: The next possession. It was the very next possession.
[29:21] Speaker 2: The next possession.
[29:22] Speaker 1: It was the very next possession.
[29:23] Speaker 3: Because you could go.
[29:24] Speaker 1: Up three there. Yes.
[29:26] Speaker 3: Okay.
[29:27] Speaker 2: Then it goes back and forth. But now we've got
[29:29] Speaker 2: three Knicks possessions in a row. Think about this. With
[29:33] Speaker 2: 38 seconds left, the New York Knicks have a shot
[29:37] Speaker 2: clock violation.
[29:38] Speaker 3: Well, you can't. You can't.
[29:40] Speaker 2: If you've come all the way back from 29 down,
[29:43] Speaker 2: you can't do that, right? A shot clock violation? And
[29:47] Speaker 2: then the next play down, Josh Hart loses his mind,
[29:51] Speaker 2: goes completely blank, is in a daze. I don't know
[29:54] Speaker 2: what he's doing. He doesn't know where he is. And
[29:57] Speaker 2: he does not block out Stephon Castle, who just cuts
[30:01] Speaker 2: right up underneath him for the offensive rebound, foul, free throws, swish, swish, right?
[30:08] Speaker 2: That's on Josh Hart, man.
[30:09] Speaker 1: You can't.
[30:10] Speaker 2: The ultimate rebound.
[30:12] Speaker 3: Really? You did that?
[30:14] Speaker 2: And then with Josh Hart, I'm going to go down
[30:17] Speaker 2: to the last play of the game. Dylan Harper's inbounding.
[30:22] Speaker 2: And they ran a smart play to me because everybody
[30:25] Speaker 2: thought they'll try to lob it to Wimby, let him
[30:27] Speaker 2: try to catch it and dunk it. And they have
[30:31] Speaker 2: Wimby go out to the free throw line and pick
[30:34] Speaker 2: for Stephon Castle. Now, Stephon Castle to me, we've talked about,
[30:38] Speaker 2: he is an angry dunker, man. If he gets his
[30:41] Speaker 2: two hands on the basketball, he's going to slam it
[30:44] Speaker 2: at the buzzer. And he breaks clean off Josh Hart,
[30:49] Speaker 2: who's playing him like outside. He's not behind the pick.
[30:54] Speaker 2: He gets smoked, man. He is beaten to the basket
[30:59] Speaker 2: by Stephon Castle. And Carl Anthony Towns somehow gets fingertips
[31:05] Speaker 2: on Dylan Harper's inbound lob. If the lob is up
[31:09] Speaker 2: toward the rim where it was aimed for.
[31:13] Speaker 2: We're having a different conversation because he's either going to
[31:16] Speaker 2: slam it or he's going to go shoot the free
[31:18] Speaker 2: throws to win the game. And him, he's already convinced
[31:21] Speaker 2: me he's going to make those free throws. So that's
[31:25] Speaker 2: Josh Hart, Josh Hart, Josh Hart, Josh Hart. And, and
[31:29] Speaker 2: you got away with that. And then the other one
[31:32] Speaker 2: you get away with is on the De'Aaron Fox play.
[31:34] Speaker 2: And again, I'm not going to condemn him. Your instinct
[31:38] Speaker 2: takes over. You're, You're one of the fastest players in
[31:42] Speaker 2: the league. Is that fair to say?
[31:43] Speaker 1: I think he is.
[31:44] Speaker 2: I think especially with the basketball. This is without the basketball.
[31:47] Speaker 2: But but he's the one who tipped it up the floor. Oh,
[31:50] Speaker 2: I missed the third possession. Jalen Brunson on the last
[31:54] Speaker 2: Nick possession before the tip in. He tries a shot
[31:59] Speaker 2: over Wimby that's just crazy. Like, you can't do that.
[32:03] Speaker 2: And he shoots it up high off the glass, and
[32:04] Speaker 2: it touches nothing but glass because it didn't touch the rim.
[32:08] Speaker 2: And that's the one De'Aaron Fox tips up the floor,
[32:10] Speaker 2: and then he goes and chases it down. So help
[32:13] Speaker 2: me out here. It's to the left-handed side of the basket,
[32:18] Speaker 2: and he's left-handed.
[32:19] Speaker 3: Mm-hmm.
[32:20] Speaker 2: Now, obviously, in 2020 hindsight, the play is to just
[32:25] Speaker 2: go track down the basketball and then just pivot and
[32:28] Speaker 2: dribble it out and make them fouls, right?
[32:30] Speaker 3: Automatic.
[32:31] Speaker 1: Not even thinking about it. We're not thinking about it.
[32:33] Speaker 1: You're not thinking about the layup? We're not thinking about
[32:35] Speaker 1: the layup.
[32:35] Speaker 6: We're up one.
[32:37] Speaker 1: They have to foul. They have to foul.
[32:39] Speaker 3: They have to foul.
[32:40] Speaker 1: But your time is your friend, bro. If I'm De'Aaron Fox,
[32:43] Speaker 1: I'm an 80% Fritos fan. Time is your friend.
[32:46] Speaker 2: Okay, I got it. But but but your your ego
[32:49] Speaker 2: takes over. Yes, your will takes over You just see
[32:52] Speaker 2: basketball you see left-handed you see basket. I know what
[32:55] Speaker 2: you're gonna think I'm gonna go track this down and
[32:58] Speaker 2: I'm gonna beat him to the basket because I'm fast.
[33:01] Speaker 1: No way.
[33:02] Speaker 3: That's what you.
[33:02] Speaker 4: Thought Ginobili this same had the same exact way and
[33:06] Speaker 4: he ran it.
[33:07] Speaker 1: That's just being savvy. It's savvy Run right under you
[33:11] Speaker 1: know Thomas score.
[33:12] Speaker 4: You know, they got a foul and I can burn
[33:14] Speaker 4: a couple seconds just by running this way.
[33:16] Speaker 3: All right.
[33:18] Speaker 2: But OG, it's almost LeBron-esque with the chase down block.
[33:22] Speaker 3: Oh, okay.
[33:23] Speaker 2: The chase down. You know, this is a chase down.
[33:26] Speaker 1: I remember that.
[33:27] Speaker 3: Okay.
[33:27] Speaker 2: So OG chases him down. But go look at it again.
[33:31] Speaker 2: Tell me I'm wrong about this. I just knew the
[33:35] Speaker 2: whistle was going to blow because OG hammers him pretty
[33:38] Speaker 2: hard body to body, hip to hip. He hits him hard.
[33:41] Speaker 1: Okay.
[33:42] Speaker 2: And he might have gotten a little bit of hand
[33:45] Speaker 2: on the block, but he got a lot of balls.
[33:47] Speaker 1: I don't think he touched any ball on that. I
[33:49] Speaker 1: don't think he touched any ball on that.
[33:51] Speaker 3: Let me see.
[33:52] Speaker 1: On the OG? You know why it's clean? Because they've
[33:55] Speaker 1: been letting it play. You've got to let that go.
[33:59] Speaker 1: It's a hustle play, and it's a dumb play on Fox.
[34:03] Speaker 2: I'm glad that they let it go, but I thought
[34:06] Speaker 2: the way Wimby is overprotected, they're overprotected. I just thought
[34:10] Speaker 2: they're just going to blow the whistle and let him
[34:11] Speaker 2: go shoot the free throws.
[34:12] Speaker 3: To win the game.
[34:15] Speaker 2: But now we go the other way, and my final
[34:18] Speaker 2: takeaway is, I don't know if this is Wimby's call
[34:22] Speaker 2: or the coach's call, but in that timeout before the
[34:27] Speaker 2: Brunson 3 attempt, somebody said, Brunson's going to shoot this,
[34:34] Speaker 2: and I believe Wimby just volunteered and said, I'm going
[34:37] Speaker 2: to take him. Because if you go look at it,
[34:40] Speaker 2: this isn't a pick play. This isn't where they switch.
[34:44] Speaker 2: On the inbounds pass.
[34:44] Speaker 1: Wimby started on him.
[34:46] Speaker 6: He just goes out to guard him.
[34:47] Speaker 2: Wimby just goes out to guard Jalen Brunson because he says,
[34:50] Speaker 2: I'm not going to let him shoot a three to
[34:51] Speaker 2: beat us or a two or whatever it's going to be,
[34:53] Speaker 2: a jump shot. He's not going to get a jump
[34:54] Speaker 2: shot over me.
[34:56] Speaker 1: Fox ran at him.
[34:57] Speaker 3: Okay, Fox. Fox was guarding OG.
[35:00] Speaker 2: He was guarding OG. That's exactly right.
[35:03] Speaker 3: Can we look at that final play we have?
[35:07] Speaker 1: Brunson was picking on Wimby all fourth quarter, though. No,
[35:10] Speaker 1: but that particular play, Wimby was like, I got him.
[35:13] Speaker 2: He got it.
[35:14] Speaker 10: That's D-Fox Man right there.
[35:19] Speaker 3: That's D-Fox Man.
[35:20] Speaker 1: You got to box out. Left the inbound pass. Wimby watching, too.
[35:27] Speaker 2: Okay, but Rashad, it's good news, bad news for you
[35:30] Speaker 2: because the good news is Wimby did that. He went
[35:33] Speaker 2: out there and made him pull up from 30. For sure.
[35:36] Speaker 2: That's a 30-foot shot.
[35:37] Speaker 3: Short, too. And it was short.
[35:39] Speaker 2: It was online, but it was short.
[35:41] Speaker 1: But where is our rebounder?
[35:43] Speaker 2: You got a freeway to the end. And OG called
[35:46] Speaker 2: for the ball after he inbounded. It's like, I'm open
[35:48] Speaker 2: for a second. You kick it back. And then once
[35:51] Speaker 2: he knows Jalen's going to pull up, he just bolts.
[35:53] Speaker 2: and there's nobody home, and he gets a free run,
[35:57] Speaker 2: and it requires, it's like 1,000 to 1 or 10,000
[36:00] Speaker 2: to 1 luck. I mean, the timing of the play,
[36:04] Speaker 2: you got to get the right bounce at the right
[36:07] Speaker 2: moment to go up, you know, and it all.
[36:10] Speaker 1: This is the tip Kat is right there to dunk him. Usually, yeah. Usually,
[36:12] Speaker 1: you just crash the glass. No, he was right in
[36:15] Speaker 1: front of the rim.
[36:16] Speaker 8: No, Kat was right in front of the rim, so
[36:17] Speaker 8: if he tips it, no, he's going to tip it
[36:19] Speaker 8: right in, trust me.
[36:22] Speaker 2: But in the end, The Knicks didn't play clean down
[36:25] Speaker 2: the stretch, and Josh Hart didn't play clean, and they
[36:28] Speaker 2: still won because it feels like it's destined, man. It just,
[36:32] Speaker 2: that's who they are.
[36:33] Speaker 1: I said here last night, it was like, here, you
[36:35] Speaker 1: take it.
[36:36] Speaker 3: No, I don't want it.
[36:36] Speaker 1: Here, you take it. Nah, nah, you keep it. Nah, nah,
[36:38] Speaker 1: I don't want it. Nah, y'all got it, right? That's
[36:40] Speaker 1: the way they were playing back and forth, right?
[36:42] Speaker 2: Yeah, that is correct.
[36:43] Speaker 1: So, yeah, nah, it was that.
[36:45] Speaker 3: It was.
[36:48] Speaker 1: Somebody had to win it, right? And Knicks made the plays.
[36:51] Speaker 3: Man, and.
[36:53] Speaker 1: I think they gave it away, man.
[36:54] Speaker 3: They did.
[36:55] Speaker 1: Sit down their legs.
[36:56] Speaker 4: You think about how you should coach this type of
[36:59] Speaker 4: game down the stretch, up 27 in the third, right?
[37:03] Speaker 4: If we're going to keep our foot on the gas,
[37:05] Speaker 4: we're not going to play the way that we played
[37:07] Speaker 4: to get here because that's essentially how they lost the game,
[37:11] Speaker 4: playing fast, shooting the ball, not making them work on defense.
[37:16] Speaker 4: This is some time for me. I don't say that
[37:18] Speaker 4: the Knicks took this game. It was given to you.
[37:21] Speaker 4: Because we didn't make you work on defense while we're
[37:23] Speaker 4: up 25. We didn't make every possession count. We literally
[37:26] Speaker 4: shot up, jacked up threes to give them quick transition
[37:29] Speaker 4: points to come down and take advantage.
[37:32] Speaker 1: I consider them turnovers.
[37:33] Speaker 4: Bad quick shots with no execution are turnovers to me.
[37:37] Speaker 4: So now you come down on the other end and
[37:40] Speaker 4: they're cutting into the lead every day, chipping away.
[37:43] Speaker 1: And we know it's a game of runs.
[37:45] Speaker 4: So you get down 15, you get down 13 timeout,
[37:48] Speaker 4: you get down nine.
[37:49] Speaker 1: It's like, all right, damn, they're nine. How can we
[37:51] Speaker 1: keep it above 10?
[37:53] Speaker 4: Now they've chipped into it, got to five.
[37:57] Speaker 1: Now it's New York basketball.
[37:59] Speaker 4: At this point, you're dead because you haven't made any
[38:02] Speaker 4: adjustments as a coach. Your team is still playing the
[38:04] Speaker 4: same way you taught them to play, fast and quick,
[38:07] Speaker 4: no matter what, we're going to play this way. But
[38:09] Speaker 4: when you need to cut down on the lead and
[38:11] Speaker 4: you need to cut down on the momentum, you need
[38:13] Speaker 4: to start running sets. that can calm your team down,
[38:16] Speaker 4: take the crowd out of the game with a score,
[38:19] Speaker 4: make them call a timeout, show some resilience.
[38:22] Speaker 1: They didn't show any of those things.
[38:24] Speaker 4: Mitch didn't take any initiative in calming his young players
[38:27] Speaker 4: down for the moment and saying, listen, man, y'all got
[38:30] Speaker 4: to calm down. They're going to make runs. We have
[38:33] Speaker 4: to respond. There was no responses. Jalen Brunson took advantage.
[38:37] Speaker 4: OG took advantage. But look, the Knicks still play like trash.
[38:40] Speaker 4: They still play like trash. It wasn't a game that
[38:44] Speaker 4: I'm like, Man, they deserve that. Y'all let that shit go.
[38:48] Speaker 4: Y'all let them come back. They would gladly take it
[38:52] Speaker 4: if you're going to give it to them. We'll take
[38:54] Speaker 4: this shit. But going back, it's going to be tough.
[38:56] Speaker 3: They could have quit. They could have gave up.
[38:59] Speaker 4: Like he said, they didn't because they know this window
[39:03] Speaker 4: is open for anybody if you keep playing.
[39:06] Speaker 5: How do you let that happen? Your star is supposed
[39:09] Speaker 5: to have at least... post-move. You don't keep settling for threes.
[39:16] Speaker 5: At one point, somebody got a call for the ball
[39:19] Speaker 5: and said, give me the ball right here.
[39:20] Speaker 1: That is true.
[39:20] Speaker 5: Give me the ball right here. I'm going to get
[39:22] Speaker 5: it and make something happen.
[39:23] Speaker 3: Well, they only had 28 points in the paint.
[39:25] Speaker 5: They kept shooting threes. Like, he wanted to be this.
[39:28] Speaker 5: He got to get out and try to be in KD.
[39:30] Speaker 3: Like, come on.
[39:31] Speaker 1: They win me one for eight in the paint in
[39:33] Speaker 1: the second half.
[39:34] Speaker 3: I mean, ever since he said he was in his head,
[39:35] Speaker 3: I mean, it looked like he was in his own
[39:37] Speaker 3: head after that. Yeah.
[39:39] Speaker 5: Well, that was Castle with only two points to the
[39:41] Speaker 5: free throw?
[39:44] Speaker 1: Yeah.
[39:45] Speaker 2: He was in foul trouble, too, for much of the
[39:47] Speaker 2: second half.
[39:48] Speaker 1: Yeah, that's why.
[39:49] Speaker 3: But still, somebody got it.
[39:50] Speaker 9: I still like the adjustment when Mike Brown would bring
[39:52] Speaker 9: it up. That was something I did not see coming.
[39:56] Speaker 9: But it definitely took a lot of pressure on Brunson
[39:58] Speaker 9: bringing up that ball for 94.
[39:59] Speaker 1: It did.
[39:59] Speaker 3: Six points in the fourth quarter. But Alvarado, after that
[40:03] Speaker 3: Wimby play on Brunson, game three, said we're not going
[40:06] Speaker 3: to let that happen again. I think he tried to
[40:08] Speaker 3: yank Wimby's leg earlier in the game.
[40:10] Speaker 9: And I think with Wimby, he's using a lot of
[40:12] Speaker 9: his energy trying to play physical. Like if you look
[40:15] Speaker 9: at a lot of his like he's playing a lot
[40:16] Speaker 9: of minutes, but he's taking a lot of energy. Just
[40:19] Speaker 9: like if you look at some of the plays, it's
[40:21] Speaker 9: physically like just off picks, just bump.
[40:24] Speaker 3: It's just a lot going on.
[40:25] Speaker 9: Like he got to find ways to like, you know,
[40:28] Speaker 9: using all his energy and he's playing 43 minutes like that's.
[40:33] Speaker 1: That's great.
[40:33] Speaker 9: He shouldn't be getting beat up that much like he's
[40:35] Speaker 9: the only one. Really taking the beating out of everybody.
[40:37] Speaker 9: He's flopping a lot, too. Listen, he's getting beat up.
[40:41] Speaker 9: All I'm saying is they got to figure out another
[40:43] Speaker 9: way or something. Somebody else got to go out there
[40:45] Speaker 9: and do something.
[40:46] Speaker 1: I'm not rolling with that one.
[40:47] Speaker 3: I am. No, no, no. Bro, we could look at highlights.
[40:52] Speaker 1: We could.
[40:53] Speaker 3: Every time he's in a pick and roll, that one
[40:55] Speaker 3: layup that he made when.
[40:56] Speaker 10: He got pulled down and had to go like this.
[40:58] Speaker 1: I'm like, God damn.
[41:00] Speaker 3: Trav, come on.
[41:01] Speaker 5: Let's reverse the call for Wimmy. Like, Wimmy get everything
[41:04] Speaker 5: he want. Somebody said we thought Wimmy was going to
[41:08] Speaker 5: get tired.
[41:08] Speaker 1: He didn't get tired.
[41:09] Speaker 5: So we can't use that excuse now in the finals.
[41:12] Speaker 5: We can't use it in the finals.
[41:13] Speaker 3: 29 minutes per game in the regular season.
[41:17] Speaker 1: Can't use tired and you can't use 22. Yeah, maybe.
[41:22] Speaker 4: We can't say he ain't ready for the situation because
[41:25] Speaker 4: he's 22. and you can't say because it's his first
[41:29] Speaker 4: time either he's supposed to be right now a 30
[41:34] Speaker 4: year old NBA veteran 10 time all star he's supposed
[41:39] Speaker 4: to be all of that right now so there's no
[41:41] Speaker 4: excuses if.
[41:43] Speaker 6: That's how you want to put it I got articles
[41:45] Speaker 6: of Brian in the finals.
[41:46] Speaker 10: Too at 22 I know but you want to see
[41:48] Speaker 10: what they were saying about him No.
[41:50] Speaker 3: Okay.
[41:50] Speaker 1: He didn't win any. He didn't win any. They're not
[41:51] Speaker 1: talking about Wimby right now. So no excuses.
[41:53] Speaker 3: Nobody's talking about Wimby. Are they blaming the 22-year-old LeBron James? Oh, tragic.
[41:57] Speaker 1: Tragic. It was a long time ago. That's my memory.
[41:59] Speaker 1: Then it'll be a leadership. Yeah, yeah, tragic.
[42:01] Speaker 3: They say it was tragic.
[42:02] Speaker 1: Like, it was.
[42:03] Speaker 9: What I'm saying, there's no excuses for Wimby at 22.
[42:06] Speaker 3: Yeah. That's why I hear... That's why Nick can say
[42:08] Speaker 3: what he's been saying.
[42:09] Speaker 1: Like, he's... Okay, so... Lunchtime baller, all that shit. Lunchtime...
[42:14] Speaker 1: He's 22.
[42:14] Speaker 3: I mean, yeah.
[42:15] Speaker 1: Shorts under the G. Mm-hmm.
[42:18] Speaker 2: So, Rashad, you said the other day that people should
[42:22] Speaker 2: just give it up on Wimby. He's a three-point shooter.
[42:25] Speaker 2: That's what he's going to be. He's a guard. He's
[42:28] Speaker 2: going to be a 40% three-point shooter, right?
[42:31] Speaker 1: Yes, for sure.
[42:31] Speaker 2: Okay, so I looked this up last night because I
[42:34] Speaker 2: was just curious. So the Spurs have now won 12
[42:38] Speaker 2: playoff games this year. They've lost nine, but in the
[42:42] Speaker 2: 12 that they won, Wimby shot 47% from three. That's
[42:48] Speaker 2: 27 of 58. That's really good. In the nine losses,
[42:53] Speaker 2: after last night's two of eight, he's 11 of 50,
[42:57] Speaker 2: which is 22%. So when they lose, they kind of
[43:02] Speaker 2: live and die with him from three because he's going
[43:05] Speaker 2: to be their highest volume three-point taker. And when he
[43:09] Speaker 2: shoots 47%, they win. And when he shoots 22%, They've
[43:14] Speaker 2: lost nine games. I looked at restricted area. He had
[43:21] Speaker 2: one big restricted area bunch of baskets, and that was
[43:25] Speaker 2: game one against Oklahoma City at Oklahoma City. It did
[43:28] Speaker 2: go double overtime, but he scored 12 buckets in the
[43:31] Speaker 2: restricted area. That's by far his playoff high, and since then,
[43:37] Speaker 2: They've played 10 games since then. He's averaged four buckets
[43:41] Speaker 2: in the restricted area. So he goes from 12 in
[43:43] Speaker 2: game one at Oklahoma City to four a game down
[43:47] Speaker 2: the last 10. And you know what their record is
[43:48] Speaker 2: in their last 10 playoff games? Four and six.
[43:51] Speaker 1: You know why that happens, though? Okay. Teams have to
[43:55] Speaker 1: make adjustments. Okay. From that game one, 41-24.
[44:01] Speaker 2: He was 41 and 24.
[44:03] Speaker 1: Scouting report means keep his big ass out of the paint. Yeah, okay.
[44:07] Speaker 3: I want to win. So when you allow him to
[44:09] Speaker 3: go down there, this is what you're going to see.
[44:12] Speaker 2: Okay, but last night, it just screamed for him to
[44:17] Speaker 2: just call for the basketball. He can make free throws.
[44:20] Speaker 2: He didn't make them in the clutch, but he's not
[44:23] Speaker 2: a good free throw. He's a really good free throw shooter.
[44:25] Speaker 3: Yeah, for sure.
[44:26] Speaker 2: And he didn't call for it, man. He didn't say,
[44:28] Speaker 2: give me the damn ball.
[44:29] Speaker 4: Because, Skip, it doesn't work like that. It doesn't work like,
[44:34] Speaker 4: throw me the ball.
[44:35] Speaker 1: I'm open.
[44:36] Speaker 4: Hey, give it to me. I have three people around me.
[44:41] Speaker 4: Pushing me, grabbing me, holding me. If I have three
[44:46] Speaker 4: people on me, guess who's open?
[44:49] Speaker 2: The free throw line's open.
[44:50] Speaker 3: Somebody's open. Somebody's open. Somebody's open. You can't just throw.
[44:56] Speaker 10: Him the ball because he's 7'8.
[44:59] Speaker 3: It's still basketball. Will your team?
[45:04] Speaker 1: It's still basketball.
[45:05] Speaker 6: It is basketball, so you've got to play through the system, right?
[45:07] Speaker 6: When they stopped the system.
[45:15] Speaker 1: It's up to your coach to reorganize the system.
[45:17] Speaker 4: We got a new system that we need to put
[45:20] Speaker 4: in because they've stopped this.
[45:21] Speaker 1: They've stopped it.
[45:22] Speaker 3: Oh, you could get stopped that easy?
[45:24] Speaker 1: That easy? It's the finals, Nick. What the fuck are
[45:26] Speaker 1: you talking about? What that mean?
[45:28] Speaker 3: What that mean? So you could get stopped that easy.
[45:30] Speaker 3: It was this easy to get here.
[45:31] Speaker 1: It wasn't easy to get to the finals, Nick. It
[45:35] Speaker 1: wasn't easy to get to the finals. Or your team
[45:38] Speaker 1: would be there. Your team would be there. Your team
[45:41] Speaker 1: would be in the finals if it was that easy.
[45:43] Speaker 3: You don't need to be talking about it. It ain't
[45:45] Speaker 3: that easy.
[45:46] Speaker 6: It's just the energy just be different, though.
[45:48] Speaker 3: Man. He can't get the ball. Why he can't get
[45:51] Speaker 3: the ball to the post? I mean, what happened in
[45:53] Speaker 3: game three?
[45:54] Speaker 10: What happened in game four? He was getting to the
[45:58] Speaker 10: rim easy in game three.
[45:59] Speaker 1: It's called adjustments. Team adjustments. No, it's called settling for three.
[46:04] Speaker 3: Settling for three. Let's lay this back. Let's be honest.
[46:07] Speaker 1: Hey, look, guys.
[46:08] Speaker 4: Box him out. Get in front of him.
[46:12] Speaker 6: Crack down.
[46:13] Speaker 4: We're keeping Wimby out of the paint. That's where his
[46:15] Speaker 4: strong suit is. This is what we need to execute
[46:18] Speaker 4: as a team.
[46:18] Speaker 10: No, you guys fell in love with the three, just
[46:20] Speaker 10: like you guys shot yourself out the game like Boston did.
[46:23] Speaker 3: 14-26 in the first half. I believe 3-17 in the
[46:25] Speaker 3: second half. Shooting yourself out the game. We've seen Boston
[46:28] Speaker 3: do that, too, yeah. But they were on fire.
[46:31] Speaker 1: Yeah.
[46:31] Speaker 3: No, they were.
[46:32] Speaker 4: Josiah, you're saying two things to a guy who don't
[46:34] Speaker 4: even listen to the first thing you said.
[46:37] Speaker 1: First half, great. 14 to 26.
[46:38] Speaker 4: Where would you come out in the second half and
[46:42] Speaker 4: think that you could?
[46:43] Speaker 3: Well, you know.
[46:45] Speaker 1: Yeah.
[46:46] Speaker 4: So we're going to keep playing the game that got
[46:49] Speaker 4: us here, just like any other team.
[46:50] Speaker 1: So you just stay stupid. You just keep shooting.
[46:52] Speaker 3: It's stupid because we're up. It's 14. What are you?
[46:55] Speaker 2: What?
[46:56] Speaker 3: Yes, second half. You said you come out and keep
[46:58] Speaker 3: doing the same thing.
[46:58] Speaker 1: So the first half was stupid.
[47:00] Speaker 3: Nice. But you keep doing it all game?
[47:02] Speaker 5: So you don't go down and say, I ain't going
[47:05] Speaker 5: to shoot this three this time.
[47:06] Speaker 1: I'm going to go right here. I just hit this
[47:08] Speaker 1: three in the first half. Why wouldn't I shoot this three, Nick?
[47:11] Speaker 3: All right.
[47:12] Speaker 1: Yeah. They're going to lose that. Why wouldn't I hit?
[47:14] Speaker 1: You wouldn't shoot it? I just missed eight, though.
[47:17] Speaker 6: You ain't just missed eight.
[47:18] Speaker 3: It's the beginning of the second half. The beginning of
[47:20] Speaker 3: the second. You're not going to shoot it?
[47:23] Speaker 1: You're right.
[47:23] Speaker 6: You hit two in a row.
[47:24] Speaker 1: You're not going to shoot it? What did I go
[47:27] Speaker 1: for that second half, though?
[47:29] Speaker 6: You missed. Right, and then we kept missing. And we
[47:31] Speaker 6: kept missing.
[47:32] Speaker 10: And then it's like, okay, now it's like, can we
[47:35] Speaker 10: get something in the post?
[47:36] Speaker 3: Hey, yo, how about this? How about this?
[47:39] Speaker 10: The next five plays down, we're not going to shoot
[47:41] Speaker 10: unless it's in the paint.
[47:42] Speaker 3: How about that? Well, obviously we have a lot more
[47:46] Speaker 3: to discuss on this finals and enthralling game, but let's
[47:49] Speaker 3: shift back to the Knicks side for just a moment
[47:52] Speaker 3: and just their makeup and their DNA in these past
[47:54] Speaker 3: couple playoffs. Knicks have now, Knicks now have five 20-point
[47:57] Speaker 3: comeback wins. in the playoffs over the last two years.
[48:00] Speaker 3: So I got an interesting note here. They are 5-3
[48:03] Speaker 3: when trailing by 20 points in the last two postseasons.
[48:05] Speaker 3: The rest of the NBA has a combined record of
[48:07] Speaker 3: 4-71 in that situation. So Skip, looking at this squad,
[48:11] Speaker 3: what does a historic comeback win in the finals tell
[48:13] Speaker 3: you about this Knicks squad? We saw in the Eastern
[48:16] Speaker 3: Conference Finals game one down 22.
[48:18] Speaker 1: Send that to OT. Smack the Cavs.
[48:24] Speaker 2: In this series, they've come from double digits down in
[48:27] Speaker 2: the first four games, I mean, including last night.
[48:30] Speaker 1: Every first four games. Yeah.
[48:32] Speaker 2: It's just all about Jalen Brunson to me. He sets
[48:35] Speaker 2: the tone. He gets off to rocky starts. It was
[48:41] Speaker 2: another one last night. And I'm going to say this again.
[48:44] Speaker 2: The Spurs are the fastest starting team I have ever
[48:47] Speaker 2: seen in the playoffs, and I've been doing this for
[48:49] Speaker 2: a while. But they are, they're just extraordinary how they're blowing,
[48:55] Speaker 2: like they're now, In first quarters in these playoffs, they're
[48:59] Speaker 2: plus 113. Against the Knicks, they're plus 47 in the
[49:03] Speaker 2: four first quarters. So they're just blowing you off the floor.
[49:08] Speaker 2: And then Jalen Brunson finally says, okay, I'm going to
[49:13] Speaker 2: do this. And all of a sudden, he starts making
[49:15] Speaker 2: shots in the third quarter. And he gets in a rhythm,
[49:19] Speaker 2: and he figures.
[49:20] Speaker 3: it out.
[49:20] Speaker 2: Oh, I can do this. Tonight this works for me.
[49:24] Speaker 2: And he is the driving force of the Knicks psyche
[49:28] Speaker 2: to me. He's the one they trust to get them
[49:30] Speaker 2: back on track, to get them into some sort of
[49:35] Speaker 2: offensive flow and rhythm. It's all about Jalen Brunson. And
[49:41] Speaker 2: I've never seen him quite like his mindset. I know
[49:44] Speaker 2: it's cliched, but you don't talk about refuse to lose,
[49:47] Speaker 2: refuse to quit. He just keeps firing. And you better
[49:53] Speaker 2: be careful because these are long games. And if he
[49:57] Speaker 2: catches a rhythm, they can come back from, what was it,
[50:01] Speaker 2: 22 down with 7.5 left against Cleveland. And he sets
[50:07] Speaker 2: their tones. I don't think he's more than six feet
[50:11] Speaker 2: tall and he's like all heart or all guts or
[50:16] Speaker 2: whatever you want to describe it as. That's what he's
[50:18] Speaker 2: made of. But he is they. He is he for them.
[50:28] Speaker 3: I wouldn't like this. Another 20-point comeback.
[50:31] Speaker 8: I don't know if it's a good thing that you
[50:34] Speaker 8: keep getting down 20, but To show resilience in those moments,
[50:40] Speaker 8: to not quit, to keep fighting, understand the big picture.
[50:45] Speaker 8: It's a game of runs. It's 48 minutes in a game.
[50:48] Speaker 8: It's two halves to a game. As we see last night,
[50:52] Speaker 8: each half can look different. The Spurs shot, they were
[50:58] Speaker 8: like 68% at one point from the field and 62%
[51:01] Speaker 8: from three at one point. Ended up shooting low 40s
[51:05] Speaker 8: in both. overall for the game. So, yeah, it was
[51:11] Speaker 8: a tale of two halves. But yeah, it just says
[51:15] Speaker 8: something about you as a team to get down 20
[51:19] Speaker 8: and to fight back from that consistently is a good thing,
[51:22] Speaker 8: I guess, at times. But to your point, Skip, about
[51:26] Speaker 8: Jalen Brunson, I think he tries to let the other
[51:32] Speaker 8: guys in the first quarter get involved, right? Like, Trying
[51:37] Speaker 8: to let them find their rhythm because he knows that, like,
[51:42] Speaker 8: I'm a ball-dominant guy. The way we've been doing it
[51:44] Speaker 8: is Cat has been getting involved. Other guys have been
[51:46] Speaker 8: getting involved. And he took a lot of criticism. Yeah,
[51:49] Speaker 8: that's been a trend, right? But he's been too ball-dominant early.
[51:52] Speaker 8: Nobody else is in a rhythm. Nobody else is getting off.
[51:55] Speaker 3: Yeah.
[51:56] Speaker 8: So I think that's the way that he has been
[51:57] Speaker 8: approaching it. So his slow starts, I think, are that.
[52:01] Speaker 8: And to the Spurs' credit, how they are defending him
[52:04] Speaker 8: as well.
[52:04] Speaker 1: Yeah.
[52:05] Speaker 8: You know, so putting Stephon Castle on him early. Last
[52:09] Speaker 8: night he got in foul trouble, so they had to
[52:11] Speaker 8: make some adjustments, getting Stephon Castle off of him at times,
[52:14] Speaker 8: things like that. But I just think he tries to
[52:17] Speaker 8: get the other guys going, and then when he realizes
[52:20] Speaker 8: that's not going to happen, then he turns it on,
[52:24] Speaker 8: really turns it on. He's going to get it throughout
[52:26] Speaker 8: the game normally, but as you can see in these finals,
[52:30] Speaker 8: he has really revved his shot selection up, right?
[52:34] Speaker 3: Yeah.
[52:34] Speaker 8: So I think that's what it is. And in order
[52:37] Speaker 8: for them to come back from these deficits, he has
[52:40] Speaker 8: to be the Dylan Brunson of old. And that's being
[52:43] Speaker 8: ball-dominated at times because you're not getting anything right now
[52:46] Speaker 8: from Mikael Bridges.
[52:47] Speaker 2: No.
[52:49] Speaker 8: Josh Hart is playing okay. Maybe he was shot late,
[52:53] Speaker 8: but not getting anything from him offensively. Cat is struggling offensively,
[52:57] Speaker 8: so he has to be the Jalen Brunson of old.
[53:00] Speaker 1: He does.
[53:00] Speaker 3: Right?
[53:00] Speaker 8: When it's time. I think it needs to happen sooner
[53:04] Speaker 8: in game five.
[53:05] Speaker 1: Right?
[53:06] Speaker 8: I think he needs to come out and assert himself
[53:08] Speaker 8: in the first quarter because you can't come out and
[53:11] Speaker 8: have that trend down there when this team is fighting
[53:14] Speaker 8: for their playoff, for their season. So I think he
[53:17] Speaker 8: needs to get off going earlier and sooner. But that's
[53:21] Speaker 8: just my, that's what I see.
[53:22] Speaker 1: Yeah.
[53:26] Speaker 3: Brunson, best shooting game of the finals in this one. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
[53:30] Speaker 1: But let's talk about– 12-25, right?
[53:31] Speaker 3: Yeah.
[53:32] Speaker 1: Yeah, so that's his best– Yeah. So, gentlemen, still the
[53:35] Speaker 1: favorite to win finals MVP.
[53:38] Speaker 3: OG and Inobi come on strong these last two games. So,
[53:40] Speaker 3: for the series, OG's averaging 24 points, four rebounds a steal,
[53:43] Speaker 3: and nearly two blocks per game.
[53:46] Speaker 1: 58-56, 92 shooting splits.
[53:50] Speaker 3: Also getting it done on the defensive side. Mm-hmm. Shot,
[53:54] Speaker 3: is OG Ananobi the real finals MVP through the.
[53:56] Speaker 1: First four games?
[53:57] Speaker 3: We ain't there yet.
[53:59] Speaker 4: Cut that shit short, bro. It was 3-1. We still
[54:01] Speaker 4: got time to come back.
[54:03] Speaker 1: Let me read the question again.
[54:05] Speaker 3: Is OG Ananobi the real finals MVP through the first
[54:08] Speaker 3: four games of this series? Nah.
[54:12] Speaker 1: Bill Brunson? Yeah. He's contributing.
[54:16] Speaker 3: He's contributing.
[54:17] Speaker 4: He's a good, dope contributor. Well, it's going to ultimately
[54:20] Speaker 4: end up what happens.
[54:21] Speaker 3: Much more efficient shooting, playing both sides of the ball,
[54:23] Speaker 3: not getting taken out of the game late in.
[54:25] Speaker 1: The fourth quarter. The last game. For defensive adjustments. The
[54:28] Speaker 1: closeout game going to dictate who gets it. You think?
[54:30] Speaker 3: Yeah.
[54:30] Speaker 8: I think game one is what Jalen Brunson did in
[54:34] Speaker 8: the fourth quarter of game one.
[54:35] Speaker 1: Yeah, that too. OG hit some big... He did, but
[54:39] Speaker 1: Jalen Brunson had 13 in the fourth. He had eight,
[54:41] Speaker 1: but yeah.
[54:42] Speaker 4: Whoever outscored whoever in that closeout game is going to
[54:45] Speaker 4: get it for sure.
[54:47] Speaker 1: I don't know.
[54:48] Speaker 8: I think it's Jalen Brunson. I think it's Jalen Brunson
[54:51] Speaker 8: to lose. I was just about to say. I think
[54:52] Speaker 8: it's Jalen Brunson to lose.
[54:53] Speaker 3: I see OG getting some boats, but just had to
[54:55] Speaker 3: ask you guys.
[54:56] Speaker 4: He had to do some outstanding shit in the final game.
[55:00] Speaker 8: So it's just like last year when Jalen Williams had
[55:02] Speaker 8: 40 in one playoff game in the finals game, but
[55:05] Speaker 8: shape was consistent and The one game that Jalen went
[55:08] Speaker 8: out and had 40, everybody was like, well, maybe Jalen
[55:11] Speaker 8: can be the finals MVP. He's balling, but we know
[55:15] Speaker 8: who the award, who has been the most consistent, why
[55:19] Speaker 8: they're in the position that they're in now, and that's
[55:21] Speaker 8: Jalen Bronson. OG has held his own, absolutely. The plays
[55:25] Speaker 8: he made last night are MVP worthy, yes, but when
[55:28] Speaker 8: you have another guy that's been playing consistent through the
[55:31] Speaker 8: four games, no matter what he's shooting from the field,
[55:34] Speaker 8: he's willing his team to win. So that's the most
[55:38] Speaker 8: important thing. The shot selection and how many shots he's
[55:40] Speaker 8: taken is one thing, but those have resulted in, so far,
[55:45] Speaker 8: three wins.
[55:48] Speaker 2: But I can make a case that O.G. had the
[55:51] Speaker 2: best half of the finals in the second half.
[55:54] Speaker 1: Absolutely.
[55:54] Speaker 2: Because he scored, what, 19 on seven?
[55:58] Speaker 3: Yeah.
[55:59] Speaker 2: It was seven or nine threes, right?
[56:00] Speaker 1: Seven or nine for three, yeah. God. 10 for 15
[56:03] Speaker 1: from the field.
[56:04] Speaker 3: And a block. And a tip in.
[56:05] Speaker 2: Like, okay.
[56:06] Speaker 4: Can the Knicks beat the San Antonio Spurs without Jalen Brunson.
[56:10] Speaker 1: Scoring 25 plus? Not, not.
[56:13] Speaker 4: Can they beat them without OG scoring 24? No, because
[56:17] Speaker 4: OG is the X Factor. That's what he's averaging.
[56:20] Speaker 3: But even on the defensive side, can they beat them
[56:22] Speaker 3: without OG's defense?
[56:23] Speaker 4: I'm saying if there were to be another player like
[56:27] Speaker 4: Shamit or.
[56:28] Speaker 1: Bridges that update production.
[56:31] Speaker 4: You wouldn't need OG's 24 because you would still have
[56:36] Speaker 4: Josh Hart giving you eight, Bridges giving you 12. The
[56:40] Speaker 4: other guys doing what they're supposed to do. I'm saying
[56:43] Speaker 4: as far as gauging MVP for the finals, like you're saying,
[56:47] Speaker 4: the consistent body of work of a Jalen Brunson of
[56:49] Speaker 4: an SGA, that consistency warrants you being the most valuable
[56:53] Speaker 4: player on the floor. Because without me doing what I'm doing,
[56:56] Speaker 4: we don't have a chance. The Knicks don't have a chance.
[56:59] Speaker 9: I'm going to go with OG because I feel like
[57:01] Speaker 9: it's the same situation in Boston with Jalen Brown and
[57:04] Speaker 9: Jason Tatum. Jason Tatum was averaging everything from points, assists,
[57:08] Speaker 9: and rebounds. It came down to obviously somebody else who
[57:11] Speaker 9: was doing it from both sides of the floor. He's
[57:14] Speaker 9: in the position to be able to get it. I
[57:15] Speaker 9: think game four was a really big game for showing
[57:19] Speaker 9: from the defensive stop to coming back, getting the tip.
[57:22] Speaker 9: Those are big plays too. Right now, it's a tie.
[57:24] Speaker 9: It's kind of a tie, but I'm leaning towards.
[57:27] Speaker 3: OG a little bit.
[57:28] Speaker 1: Really?
[57:29] Speaker 2: To be the MVP?
[57:30] Speaker 3: Yeah. Neither here nor there, but we asked the chat,
[57:34] Speaker 3: our illustrious chat here on Gills Arena, who is the
[57:37] Speaker 3: finals MVP, Brunson or OG? Currently 52% say OG, 48%
[57:41] Speaker 3: say Brunson. I think Brunson gets it off name value,
[57:43] Speaker 3: star power.
[57:44] Speaker 2: OG.
[57:45] Speaker 3: No, it's just right now.
[57:46] Speaker 1: Right now.
[57:47] Speaker 3: Like you said, it depends on the next game. I mean,
[57:50] Speaker 3: that tip-in without the 33, you know what I'm saying?
[57:52] Speaker 3: Like you said, 7-9. If there's just a tip-in on
[57:54] Speaker 3: a 15-point game, we're not talking about it.
[57:56] Speaker 8: The block and the tip-in is fresh in people's minds.
[58:00] Speaker 8: Plus the 33-point, but the block and the tip-in is
[58:02] Speaker 8: what won the game.
[58:04] Speaker 3: Is that the biggest? Yeah, the block and the tip-in.
[58:07] Speaker 8: The play throughout was historic for him, but the block
[58:10] Speaker 8: and the tip-in were the winning plays for that game, right?
[58:14] Speaker 8: So that's fresh on everybody's mind. It's what everybody's talking about.
[58:19] Speaker 8: It's the hot thing going on right now. And yeah,
[58:23] Speaker 8: he deserves all the praise that he's getting right now
[58:26] Speaker 8: for game winning plays, right?
[58:29] Speaker 1: The Andre Iguodala did. But with scoring, right? With scoring.
[58:36] Speaker 2: But Iguodala was the MVP.
[58:39] Speaker 8: But we all know the engine that was running that
[58:41] Speaker 8: was Steph.
[58:43] Speaker 1: So it's not. He got the award, yes.
[58:47] Speaker 2: Okay, but Iggy wasn't even inserted into the starting lineup
[58:50] Speaker 2: until game four.
[58:52] Speaker 1: And that's what I'm saying. That's the point I'm making.
[58:56] Speaker 2: It is a good comparison, those two.
[58:58] Speaker 1: That's the point I'm making, right?
[58:59] Speaker 2: But Iggy's like the man didn't start in the field.
[59:01] Speaker 2: I mean, they do a lot of the same things.
[59:03] Speaker 8: And the notion that he shut that other man down,
[59:05] Speaker 8: that man was averaging historic numbers in the finals is
[59:08] Speaker 8: goddamn crazy.
[59:09] Speaker 3: Yeah.
[59:10] Speaker 8: So, but that's neither here nor there. But OG is
[59:14] Speaker 8: playing great.
[59:16] Speaker 3: Iggy averaged 16.6 rebounds in this one.
[59:18] Speaker 8: Yeah, they are in a position they're in now because
[59:21] Speaker 8: of his consistent play as well as Jalen Bronson. So,
[59:24] Speaker 8: if he comes out and had the same kind of
[59:27] Speaker 8: game five and Jalen has the same– I would not
[59:29] Speaker 8: be surprised if OGN and OB got it.
[59:33] Speaker 1: I would not be surprised one bit. I think you
[59:35] Speaker 1: got to get to them. You'll get some of those.
[59:37] Speaker 8: Right now, if I'm having to say, it's Jalen Brunson's
[59:41] Speaker 8: to lose.
[59:42] Speaker 1: But neither here nor there. Jalen Brunson, let me read
[59:46] Speaker 1: it for you. Give me one second.
[59:50] Speaker 3: So Jalen Brunson, I'm going to read them all for you.
[59:52] Speaker 3: He's averaging 30 points, 5 assists, 5 rebounds, shooting... 40%
[59:57] Speaker 3: from the field, 34% from the three, 86% from the
[1:00:00] Speaker 3: free throw line.
[1:00:02] Speaker 1: What's he average? Average of 27 shots a game.
[1:00:05] Speaker 3: Cool.
[1:00:05] Speaker 1: I'm with that. I'm saying I'm with you.
[1:00:07] Speaker 3: And you guys said he needed to be in that 25,
[1:00:09] Speaker 3: 30 range.
[1:00:09] Speaker 1: Yeah, for them to have a shot. Guess what?
[1:00:12] Speaker 8: And that's what he's doing because you're not getting anything
[1:00:15] Speaker 8: from the big fella.
[1:00:16] Speaker 2: And what's OG averaging now through four games?
[1:00:19] Speaker 3: OG, Skip, is averaging 24 points, four rebounds, one steal,
[1:00:24] Speaker 3: 1.5 blocks.
[1:00:25] Speaker 1: On 58, 56, 92.
[1:00:25] Speaker 3: 56.
[1:00:26] Speaker 1: 58, 56, 92 splits. Good splits.
[1:00:27] Speaker 3: Good, great splits. 50, 50, 90.
[1:00:28] Speaker 1: No, I hear you. I understand what you're saying. 60, 50, 90. 55,
[1:00:29] Speaker 1: I mean, 55, 55, 90.
[1:00:30] Speaker 3: Yeah.
[1:00:39] Speaker 4: I'm obliged to say, yes, you're playing well.
[1:00:42] Speaker 1: Yeah, like I said. But this is the boat that
[1:00:45] Speaker 1: I'm sailing. Yeah, I'm not trying to push narratives. Like
[1:00:47] Speaker 1: I said, if they did, I would be like, all right.
[1:00:50] Speaker 3: But if you're watching that game late in the fourth quarter,
[1:00:53] Speaker 3: they take Brunson out for a defensive possession.
[1:00:57] Speaker 1: For me, it's like, all right, well. Oh, yeah.
[1:00:59] Speaker 3: OG's still coaching. Yeah, and it's great coaching, but OG's
[1:01:02] Speaker 3: still on the court.
[1:01:02] Speaker 1: He's not.
[1:01:03] Speaker 8: I'm saying they did it for other guys as well.
[1:01:04] Speaker 8: He's small-statured. He's size on the floor. Those possessions matter, right?
[1:01:09] Speaker 8: I'm going to call a timeout either way. I'm not
[1:01:11] Speaker 8: going to give OG the ball. The most important thing
[1:01:14] Speaker 8: is the rebound.
[1:01:15] Speaker 3: But you need, Brunson, even that shot, obviously, with Fox
[1:01:18] Speaker 3: and Wimby on him, you can say it's a bad shot.
[1:01:21] Speaker 3: Smart enough shot, though, to know I've got their best
[1:01:22] Speaker 3: rebounder away from the basket so I can make something happen.
[1:01:25] Speaker 3: We've seen a lot of crazy offensive rebound putbacks throughout
[1:01:27] Speaker 3: this series.
[1:01:28] Speaker 4: Smart enough shot to know who I am as OG
[1:01:30] Speaker 4: to go get that shit off the glass.
[1:01:32] Speaker 3: Yeah, for sure. Not to stand to see what I
[1:01:34] Speaker 3: this is what I do. He makes that shot.
[1:01:38] Speaker 4: There's no reason for me running to the fuck. But
[1:01:41] Speaker 4: we're expecting it to go in.
[1:01:43] Speaker 6: He ran anyway.
[1:01:44] Speaker 4: It's Jalen Brunson. He usually makes this shit. But if
[1:01:47] Speaker 4: he misses it, I'll be there to clean it up.
[1:01:49] Speaker 4: You're the cleanup guy.
[1:01:50] Speaker 1: This is game.
[1:01:51] Speaker 8: It's a game winning mentality, right? It's a winner's mentality.
[1:01:55] Speaker 8: I hope he make it. But I'm crashing no matter what, right?
[1:01:59] Speaker 8: So that's what that play is, right?
[1:02:00] Speaker 3: For sure.
[1:02:01] Speaker 1: Like, I'm crashing no matter what. So he makes it great. Yeah,
[1:02:05] Speaker 1: but we know who's the star of the team. Yeah.
[1:02:08] Speaker 1: We're not saying who's not the star. We know it's
[1:02:11] Speaker 1: Daniel Brunson. Daniel Brunson is the king of New York.
[1:02:12] Speaker 3: But that play right there, it doesn't give you anything.
[1:02:15] Speaker 6: Yes, it does.
[1:02:17] Speaker 2: Who's the second best player on the Knicks? Who has
[1:02:19] Speaker 2: been all season the second best player? Oh, Kev. And
[1:02:23] Speaker 2: a lot of people think O.G.
[1:02:25] Speaker 1: But he's the best. I was going to say O.G.
[1:02:27] Speaker 3: He is.
[1:02:28] Speaker 1: As far as this year.
[1:02:29] Speaker 8: He is the best. But this season, I think Cat
[1:02:33] Speaker 8: is the second. But overall, what he does defensively.
[1:02:36] Speaker 3: Defensively.
[1:02:38] Speaker 1: Where his game has come offensively. Yeah.
[1:02:40] Speaker 8: And the way he's shooting the ball now from three,
[1:02:42] Speaker 8: I would say O.G. is definitely the second best.
[1:02:46] Speaker 1: Player.
[1:02:46] Speaker 6: Yeah.
[1:02:48] Speaker 2: So it's not like he's a player. He's not coming
[1:02:50] Speaker 2: from nowhere.
[1:02:51] Speaker 1: It's supposed to be Cat. Yeah, but it's not.
[1:02:54] Speaker 5: It's supposed to be Cat.
[1:02:56] Speaker 4: I'm thinking it's that talk that fucked Cat up, bro,
[1:02:59] Speaker 4: that I'm going to set my role, put him behind
[1:03:02] Speaker 4: OG because OG already accepted his role. He already knew
[1:03:05] Speaker 4: his role was the cleanup guy behind Brunson. But Cat's
[1:03:08] Speaker 4: supposed to be the second main guy. And once he
[1:03:11] Speaker 4: had that talk, it's like, OG, we need you more
[1:03:13] Speaker 4: than we need Cat.
[1:03:14] Speaker 1: No, you don't need him more. They don't get here
[1:03:16] Speaker 1: without either one of them.
[1:03:18] Speaker 3: OG's second-highest paid player on the Knicks roster behind Cat.
[1:03:21] Speaker 1: Show your worth, bro. It's time for 250, right? They
[1:03:24] Speaker 1: gave him 250 for a reason. He got that 250
[1:03:25] Speaker 1: for a reason.
[1:03:26] Speaker 3: Huh?
[1:03:26] Speaker 1: Why you better hope?
[1:03:32] Speaker 9: I mean, you need, I mean, if OG gets finals MVP,
[1:03:35] Speaker 9: I mean, we can go get a mega star next,
[1:03:37] Speaker 9: like to Kenya's point.
[1:03:38] Speaker 3: I'm definitely going to go get Giannis then.
[1:03:39] Speaker 1: I'm not training OG. I'm not sure.
[1:03:42] Speaker 3: No, you don't have to trade OG, I'm saying.
[1:03:46] Speaker 9: But if OG's the finals MVP, I'm definitely going.
[1:03:49] Speaker 3: To be honest.
[1:03:50] Speaker 1: Either way it goes.
[1:03:50] Speaker 6: Are you stagging it?
[1:03:52] Speaker 10: Because now, Jalen Brunson, he don't have that type of, like,
[1:03:56] Speaker 10: we don't need to go ask you.
[1:03:58] Speaker 1: Exactly.
[1:03:58] Speaker 3: So that's, you know, but every team falls into that trap, though.
[1:04:01] Speaker 3: We want to keep this crew together. We got to
[1:04:03] Speaker 3: do it again next year. If Brunson gets finals MVP,
[1:04:05] Speaker 3: it looks a little different.
[1:04:07] Speaker 1: Even if he don't, still make the move. Yeah.
[1:04:12] Speaker 3: I'm telling you. Wait, wait, wait, wait.
[1:04:14] Speaker 1: So, now, we talked about yesterday.
[1:04:16] Speaker 8: No matter if the Knicks win or lose the finals,
[1:04:20] Speaker 8: I am trading for Giannis.
[1:04:22] Speaker 1: Cat for Giannis. Cat for Giannis.
[1:04:24] Speaker 6: But if Brunson wins at finals, I don't know if
[1:04:26] Speaker 6: Brunson wants that.
[1:04:28] Speaker 1: Boy, that man is an upgrade.
[1:04:32] Speaker 9: No, I'm just saying the type of person Brunson is,
[1:04:33] Speaker 9: he doesn't give you that. Like, yo, like, yo, like,
[1:04:36] Speaker 9: you know, like, yeah, man, like, we need to go
[1:04:38] Speaker 9: get Giannis.
[1:04:38] Speaker 3: It's like, we give him what we have.
[1:04:40] Speaker 1: And they presented in a way, listen.
[1:04:42] Speaker 8: No team has repeated because they have remained stagnant. It's
[1:04:47] Speaker 8: been the last eight years with eight different champions.
[1:04:51] Speaker 10: Did the Warriors go get better after KD?
[1:04:54] Speaker 3: I mean, when they got KD.
[1:04:55] Speaker 1: For a reason. That's what I'm about to say.
[1:04:57] Speaker 3: When they got KD, they just went back-to-back. They're the
[1:05:00] Speaker 3: last team to do it. Yeah.
[1:05:03] Speaker 1: They're the last team to go back-to-back.
[1:05:05] Speaker 3: Without making no changes.
[1:05:06] Speaker 1: And they had super.
[1:05:08] Speaker 8: Kevin Durant is arguably one, two, three in the league.
[1:05:11] Speaker 8: You got two of the best three players on your
[1:05:14] Speaker 8: one team. You should go back-to-back.
[1:05:17] Speaker 1: Just like the Heat. You should go back-to-back if you
[1:05:20] Speaker 1: got arguably one.
[1:05:23] Speaker 8: Steph, KD, Braun, one, two, three, then you.
[1:05:28] Speaker 1: Should be able to go back to back.
[1:05:29] Speaker 8: And if you add Giannis to this equation, Giannis is
[1:05:33] Speaker 8: still a top five.
[1:05:34] Speaker 1: Player in the NBA right now. I don't know.
[1:05:36] Speaker 6: Went healthy.
[1:05:37] Speaker 1: Top five. Well, sure. So if you add him to
[1:05:40] Speaker 1: that equation.
[1:05:41] Speaker 3: I don't know. I'm just saying.
[1:05:43] Speaker 1: I'm running by Jalen Brunson and I'm signing off on
[1:05:46] Speaker 1: Jalen Brunson.
[1:05:46] Speaker 3: But it's just like, I'm the guy. Like, why am
[1:05:48] Speaker 3: I coming to you? Why am I playing under you?
[1:05:50] Speaker 3: Who's the guy, though? I need to know who's the guy.
[1:05:52] Speaker 3: Who's the king of New York?
[1:05:53] Speaker 1: We said it yesterday. Listen. It's not a dick swinging competition.
[1:05:57] Speaker 10: This is about my legacy. It's about winning. This is
[1:05:59] Speaker 10: my legacy.
[1:06:00] Speaker 1: And your legacy is winning, right?
[1:06:01] Speaker 3: My legacy is also winning, also doing this, too.
[1:06:04] Speaker 1: I have a signature shoe at Nike. It's winning attached
[1:06:07] Speaker 1: to your legacy.
[1:06:08] Speaker 3: They pay me to be the guy, not to sit
[1:06:09] Speaker 3: here and be behind someone.
[1:06:10] Speaker 1: But it's winning attached to your legacy, though.
[1:06:12] Speaker 3: Yes, it is. But I'm not the guy. Am I
[1:06:14] Speaker 3: the guy or not? If Michael Jordan's.
[1:06:15] Speaker 10: Winning championships and Scottie Pippen's winning finals MVP.
[1:06:17] Speaker 3: Who cares? No, yes, it does. It changes everything. It
[1:06:21] Speaker 3: changes everything.
[1:06:23] Speaker 6: It changes everything. You can't be having that Mike got six.
[1:06:26] Speaker 11: It's like, man, Scottie got all four of them.
[1:06:30] Speaker 6: So, come on, we can't do that.
[1:06:31] Speaker 5: Steph didn't get no finals MVP's until KD left. Steph
[1:06:35] Speaker 5: currently with Lee. He won four times. He got the
[1:06:37] Speaker 5: last one. It didn't hurt Steph one bit. He still
[1:06:40] Speaker 5: was Steph.
[1:06:42] Speaker 3: Yeah, he's still a top three, top five.
[1:06:44] Speaker 8: So, therefore, in that situation, them two guys, the Steph
[1:06:48] Speaker 8: and KD, It wasn't a dick-swinging competition.
[1:06:50] Speaker 1: It's about the end result, man. Their legacy is what
[1:06:54] Speaker 1: it is.
[1:06:54] Speaker 10: And your legacy still gets haunted when you don't have
[1:06:56] Speaker 10: the finals MVP.
[1:06:57] Speaker 1: If you want to be at that table.
[1:06:59] Speaker 6: In that conversation.
[1:06:59] Speaker 3: That's your opinion, Brandon.
[1:07:00] Speaker 1: It does not. It does not.
[1:07:01] Speaker 3: Okay, so is KD a top-ten basketball player of all time?
[1:07:08] Speaker 1: It does not affect his legacy.
[1:07:10] Speaker 3: It affects where I'm ranked at.
[1:07:14] Speaker 10: If I want to be at the table with Michael Jordan,
[1:07:16] Speaker 10: Magic Johnson, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar.
[1:07:18] Speaker 3: I need to have these accolades.
[1:07:19] Speaker 6: No, you do not.
[1:07:20] Speaker 12: You don't need the finals MVP.
[1:07:22] Speaker 3: Yes, you do.
[1:07:23] Speaker 1: No.
[1:07:24] Speaker 6: You're worried about one trophy.
[1:07:26] Speaker 1: I'm worried about it all.
[1:07:27] Speaker 6: I'm worried about MVP, too.
[1:07:30] Speaker 8: How about the team accolade, the trophy?
[1:07:34] Speaker 3: That's fine.
[1:07:34] Speaker 1: Let's put that first.
[1:07:36] Speaker 4: The conversation I'm sending around, Giannis not wanting to play
[1:07:39] Speaker 4: number two.
[1:07:40] Speaker 3: He's not in a conversation with Jason.
[1:07:42] Speaker 8: So what player is averaging 27, 11, and 7 as
[1:07:45] Speaker 8: number two?
[1:07:48] Speaker 2: I'll wait.
[1:07:49] Speaker 1: You say averaging what?
[1:07:51] Speaker 4: That's averaging 27 and 11?
[1:07:54] Speaker 3: 27, 11, and 7. Yeah, but Giannis is the main
[1:07:56] Speaker 3: guy on this team.
[1:07:57] Speaker 1: But what guy would be averaging that that would be
[1:07:59] Speaker 1: number two?
[1:08:00] Speaker 10: He would if he goes to the New York Knicks.
[1:08:03] Speaker 10: He's not the main guy if he goes to the
[1:08:04] Speaker 10: New York Knicks.
[1:08:05] Speaker 8: So like I said yesterday, right, if the Knicks pull
[1:08:08] Speaker 8: this off, right, they're in great position to pull this
[1:08:10] Speaker 8: off right now.
[1:08:11] Speaker 1: Jalen Brunson is going to be finals MVP.
[1:08:14] Speaker 8: He is going to get his love and do whatever
[1:08:19] Speaker 8: is coming to him next year as far as endorsements, love, commercials,
[1:08:25] Speaker 8: whatever that's going to come to Jalen Brunson next year
[1:08:28] Speaker 8: is going to come before if this.
[1:08:30] Speaker 1: Trade goes through. It's a hypothetical right now, right?
[1:08:34] Speaker 8: I'm saying that's coming to Jalen Brunson no matter what.
[1:08:38] Speaker 8: Giannis has already experienced that. He has a championship and
[1:08:45] Speaker 8: finals MVP.
[1:08:48] Speaker 1: I've experienced this already.
[1:08:50] Speaker 8: My goal, number one goal now, I believe if I
[1:08:53] Speaker 8: know Giannis, is to win another championship.
[1:08:57] Speaker 3: So is Giannis bigger than.
[1:08:59] Speaker 1: Jalen Brunson? That's just my personal opinion.
[1:09:01] Speaker 8: What I see from the guy, how he approaches it,
[1:09:04] Speaker 8: and the conversations that I hear come out of his mouth,
[1:09:07] Speaker 8: I can only go on his demeanor and what he
[1:09:10] Speaker 8: says is most important. And that's competing and winning at
[1:09:14] Speaker 8: a high level. I'm showing up with a finals win
[1:09:18] Speaker 8: and a finals MVP already.
[1:09:21] Speaker 1: I've done what Jalen is about to accomplish. Great.
[1:09:25] Speaker 8: If we are to team up and we make it
[1:09:27] Speaker 8: to this pinnacle again, we're going to do this together.
[1:09:32] Speaker 8: And whoever plays the best is going to get the award.
[1:09:35] Speaker 8: That's just what it is. I'm not making it about
[1:09:39] Speaker 8: just I need finals MVP. The team win is the
[1:09:45] Speaker 8: main objective here. If I play well as Giannis Antetokounmpo
[1:09:50] Speaker 8: and Jalen Brunson plays well, if we are to team up,
[1:09:53] Speaker 8: we have a great chance to win.
[1:09:56] Speaker 1: That's what the goal is and the goal should be,
[1:09:59] Speaker 1: in my opinion.
[1:10:01] Speaker 2: So you're saying they would literally be co-stars?
[1:10:04] Speaker 1: I don't see how not. Because they both are who
[1:10:07] Speaker 1: they are.
[1:10:07] Speaker 2: Nobody's the man.
[1:10:08] Speaker 1: So why would I trade if I win with Katz?
[1:10:13] Speaker 1: He's an upgrade.
[1:10:14] Speaker 3: Why would I need an upgrade? We're winning.
[1:10:17] Speaker 6: Because no team has went back to back, Rashad.
[1:10:19] Speaker 1: That's why. This is what I'm saying, what you just said.
[1:10:21] Speaker 4: Everything you just said comes around from there's no equilibrium
[1:10:27] Speaker 4: in the hierarchy of who's the man on this team.
[1:10:30] Speaker 1: Giannis wants to win. We're going to do whatever it
[1:10:33] Speaker 1: is to win.
[1:10:33] Speaker 4: But if Cat's here and we just won.
[1:10:36] Speaker 1: What would be the.
[1:10:36] Speaker 4: Reason to bring him in if he's not going to
[1:10:38] Speaker 4: be the man, the main guy?
[1:10:41] Speaker 1: His play is, though. But you're saying his ego and
[1:10:45] Speaker 1: all of that is going to be equal as Kat's.
[1:10:47] Speaker 1: Kat already accepted his role. He's a better player than Kat.
[1:10:51] Speaker 1: We won a championship with Kat. No, you... Being mediocre.
[1:10:56] Speaker 4: But we won. Being mediocre. We cool with... Let's call
[1:10:59] Speaker 4: it a spade a spade, right?
[1:11:00] Speaker 3: But if you're bringing Giannis in.
[1:11:02] Speaker 4: What he's saying is Giannis is the, I'm bigger than
[1:11:06] Speaker 4: Jalen Brunson right now.
[1:11:07] Speaker 3: No, I'm not. No, I'm not. Okay, so exactly. So
[1:11:11] Speaker 3: why am I coming over here? And when I'm already big,
[1:11:13] Speaker 3: who I am?
[1:11:13] Speaker 1: Well, do you want to win another championship?
[1:11:16] Speaker 10: Yes, I do want to win a championship, but I'm
[1:11:18] Speaker 10: going to win a championship in the same way I
[1:11:20] Speaker 10: won it before.
[1:11:20] Speaker 3: I'm going to do it the same way again.
[1:11:22] Speaker 1: So why not stack the deck though? Where at? Why
[1:11:24] Speaker 1: not better your chances? Why not leave? Why not stay here?
[1:11:27] Speaker 3: Why not just?
[1:11:28] Speaker 10: Okay, as long as Jalen Brunson knows when I come
[1:11:30] Speaker 10: over here, hey, what you did last year, that's cool, homie.
[1:11:32] Speaker 10: So why did Braun go to Miami?
[1:11:34] Speaker 1: Why did KD go to Golden State?
[1:11:38] Speaker 8: Why did them dudes go there? Why did Clyde Drexler
[1:11:40] Speaker 8: go to Houston? Why did Charles Barkley go to Phoenix?
[1:11:44] Speaker 6: He went to Houston to be a role player.
[1:11:46] Speaker 3: He was a role player.
[1:11:49] Speaker 6: But why did he go there? He was a role player.
[1:11:52] Speaker 6: He was the number two, right? Was he the man
[1:11:55] Speaker 6: in Portland? Was he the man in Portland? Was he
[1:11:57] Speaker 6: the man in Portland? And then he went to Houston
[1:12:00] Speaker 6: and wasn't the guy.
[1:12:01] Speaker 3: To do what?
[1:12:02] Speaker 6: To do what?
[1:12:04] Speaker 3: Glide.
[1:12:04] Speaker 6: What's the main objective? Glide. He won, but he didn't
[1:12:07] Speaker 6: win as the guy. So what's the main objective?
[1:12:09] Speaker 1: What is the main objective?
[1:12:11] Speaker 3: It is to win.
[1:12:12] Speaker 12: It is to win.
[1:12:14] Speaker 8: You worry about ego and pride. Other people worry about winning, right?
[1:12:20] Speaker 3: This is why we have the conversation.
[1:12:22] Speaker 6: Listen, you put ego and pride.
[1:12:26] Speaker 1: I put the consistency.
[1:12:26] Speaker 8: No, you put ego and pride ahead of winning.
[1:12:31] Speaker 3: If we ask Clyde Drexler right.
[1:12:33] Speaker 10: Now, when he went to the finals against Mike, if
[1:12:35] Speaker 10: he would have won that one, would that one feel
[1:12:37] Speaker 10: better than the one in Houston?
[1:12:38] Speaker 6: He's going to stay when he won in Portland. But
[1:12:39] Speaker 6: the facts are, Brandon.
[1:12:41] Speaker 3: I asked Gary Payton the same thing.
[1:12:43] Speaker 10: Gary Payton, if you beat Michael Jordan in the 90s,
[1:12:45] Speaker 10: does that one feel better than the one in Miami?
[1:12:47] Speaker 3: Yes.
[1:12:47] Speaker 6: I'm the guy. But Brandon, but did he? Yes, as
[1:12:50] Speaker 6: the role player. Did he win? Yes, as the role player.
[1:12:52] Speaker 2: Did they beat Mike?
[1:12:53] Speaker 6: The answer to that question is no. No, they didn't
[1:12:55] Speaker 6: be mine. So when Clyde Drexler went to.
[1:12:58] Speaker 1: Houston, he went to win.
[1:13:00] Speaker 3: We need to help you.
[1:13:01] Speaker 6: No, he wasn't a role player.
[1:13:02] Speaker 8: He was the second best player on that team behind
[1:13:04] Speaker 8: Hakeem Olajuwon.
[1:13:06] Speaker 6: Again, he's not the guy.
[1:13:07] Speaker 3: In Portland, he's the guy.
[1:13:09] Speaker 6: He is the Clyde. The Clyde. You talking about ego.
[1:13:12] Speaker 3: I'm talking about winning.
[1:13:14] Speaker 1: You get over there and glide.
[1:13:15] Speaker 3: Get over there and glide.
[1:13:17] Speaker 6: That's the difference, Brandon.
[1:13:18] Speaker 8: I'm talking about winning and you talking about ego and
[1:13:22] Speaker 8: worrying about a finals MVP trophy.
[1:13:24] Speaker 1: You're missing the point. I'm not going back. Let me
[1:13:26] Speaker 1: tell you the point.
[1:13:27] Speaker 4: The point of when you say Kobe Bryant and Shaq
[1:13:30] Speaker 4: won championships.
[1:13:30] Speaker 1: Here we go. They get off of the Kobe roll
[1:13:34] Speaker 1: his coattail. Kobe play number two.
[1:13:36] Speaker 4: He was second fiddle, which means you're not the guy
[1:13:40] Speaker 4: when you won the championship.
[1:13:43] Speaker 3: Five Drexler in Portland.
[1:13:45] Speaker 4: He's the guy can't beat Michael Jordan doesn't matter so
[1:13:49] Speaker 4: let me tell you go down to Houston you win
[1:13:51] Speaker 4: two not being the guy who's the guy Hakeem Olajuwon
[1:13:56] Speaker 4: gets all the credit for the two championships so what
[1:13:59] Speaker 4: he's saying is the second fiddle does matter for your
[1:14:02] Speaker 4: individual accolades and where they put you.
[1:14:05] Speaker 1: So who joined whose team though It's what I'm saying.
[1:14:07] Speaker 1: Who joined whose team? Four, five.
[1:14:10] Speaker 8: No, y'all said y'all want to bring Kobe and Shaq
[1:14:12] Speaker 8: into this equation.
[1:14:13] Speaker 4: Who joined whose team? Shaq got there first. It was
[1:14:18] Speaker 4: like Shaq.
[1:14:20] Speaker 3: Didn't Shaq get traded?
[1:14:21] Speaker 1: Shaq got traded, but it was after they made the
[1:14:25] Speaker 1: call to get Kobe. They made the call to get Kobe.
[1:14:27] Speaker 6: He made the decision to leave because.
[1:14:29] Speaker 8: They held a poll in Orlando paper and asked if
[1:14:32] Speaker 8: he was worth a certain amount of money.
[1:14:35] Speaker 6: The people said no.
[1:14:36] Speaker 1: He asked out. He left as a free agent. He
[1:14:39] Speaker 1: didn't join Kobe. He was a free agent, though. He
[1:14:40] Speaker 1: didn't join Kobe. He went to a place that was open.
[1:14:44] Speaker 1: I'm going to L.A. But they were on the same team,
[1:14:47] Speaker 1: yes or no? Yes. Right?
[1:14:49] Speaker 3: Same team.
[1:14:50] Speaker 1: Came in 96. They both came in 96.
[1:14:52] Speaker 3: Same team.
[1:14:54] Speaker 8: The same team, no one came from a different team
[1:14:59] Speaker 8: to join. If Shaq was somewhere else and he was
[1:15:01] Speaker 8: at his peak and Kobe was where he is at
[1:15:03] Speaker 8: his peak and then they joined, then that's the same
[1:15:06] Speaker 8: scenario that you guys want to keep talking about Kobe
[1:15:08] Speaker 8: and Shaq.
[1:15:09] Speaker 1: This is not that.
[1:15:10] Speaker 3: We're talking about second fiddle and first fiddle.
[1:15:12] Speaker 1: We're talking about Giannis being the main guy if you
[1:15:15] Speaker 1: go to New York. That's the whole conversation. Who's going
[1:15:18] Speaker 1: to be the main guy? Let me ask you a question.
[1:15:20] Speaker 8: If Kobe is not Kobe doing their three-peat and Shaq
[1:15:23] Speaker 8: is not Shaq doing their three-peat, do they three-peat?
[1:15:25] Speaker 3: No.
[1:15:25] Speaker 1: No.
[1:15:26] Speaker 10: That's the point I'm making. But that's not the point.
[1:15:29] Speaker 10: The point that I'm making is who's the guy?
[1:15:31] Speaker 8: Shaq was the guy. Everybody's saying Shaq was the guy.
[1:15:35] Speaker 8: You're making it about ego and a dick-swinging competition. It's
[1:15:37] Speaker 8: not a dick-swinging competition.
[1:15:39] Speaker 1: And I'm talking about the end result. He's not talking
[1:15:42] Speaker 1: about that. He's talking about your legacy. Kobe's legacy is
[1:15:46] Speaker 1: faltered because he played with Shaq. No, it's not.
[1:15:48] Speaker 3: Everyone says you.
[1:15:50] Speaker 4: Played with Shaq. You were not the main guy. He
[1:15:53] Speaker 4: had to go win two championships. to make it a conversation.
[1:15:58] Speaker 4: So everybody else is conversational.
[1:16:00] Speaker 1: It's because of Jordan.
[1:16:01] Speaker 6: No, no.
[1:16:02] Speaker 1: We're just talking about when you play second fiddle to
[1:16:05] Speaker 1: somebody and you win a championship.
[1:16:07] Speaker 5: It's not farther by Katie coming over.
[1:16:09] Speaker 1: Because he didn't come over. You come to my shit.
[1:16:13] Speaker 6: You're coming to my, it's my ship.
[1:16:15] Speaker 1: He didn't win nothing.
[1:16:16] Speaker 3: Huh?
[1:16:16] Speaker 1: He didn't win any.
[1:16:17] Speaker 3: Finals, anything. Don't care.
[1:16:19] Speaker 1: Listen, the two times.
[1:16:19] Speaker 6: No, you're moving the goalpost.
[1:16:22] Speaker 1: But you're moving the goalpost.
[1:16:24] Speaker 6: But he's not second fiddle, Nick.
[1:16:26] Speaker 3: Nick, he's not second fiddle.
[1:16:28] Speaker 8: So, but you're not discounting his finals wins.
[1:16:31] Speaker 3: Yeah.
[1:16:33] Speaker 1: Are you? Four-time champion? Are you describing this as finals wins?
[1:16:36] Speaker 3: No, what are you talking about? No.
[1:16:38] Speaker 6: He didn't win finals MVP.
[1:16:39] Speaker 1: No, but that's what I'm saying.
[1:16:42] Speaker 6: He had to be second fiddle?
[1:16:43] Speaker 8: He's the second best point guard of all time in
[1:16:45] Speaker 8: everybody's opinion.
[1:16:46] Speaker 3: Okay.
[1:16:46] Speaker 6: So it didn't tarnish his legacy.
[1:16:48] Speaker 3: But he still had to play second fiddle.
[1:16:49] Speaker 8: But it didn't tarnish his legacy is what you're saying.
[1:16:51] Speaker 10: You're saying it tarnishes his legacy. Steph had to play
[1:16:53] Speaker 10: second fiddle to KD when he came to the team.
[1:16:55] Speaker 1: But you're saying it tarnishes his legacy, though. It don't
[1:16:56] Speaker 1: feel like that. Everybody still knew it was Steph's team, though.
[1:16:58] Speaker 1: I'm just saying.
[1:16:59] Speaker 6: So you're saying it didn't tarnish his legacy?
[1:17:01] Speaker 1: No. To some people, it might. I'm asking you.
[1:17:04] Speaker 3: No.
[1:17:04] Speaker 1: Did it? I'm asking you. I'm asking you, did it
[1:17:07] Speaker 1: tarnish his legacy? That's your guy. Hold on, hold on,
[1:17:10] Speaker 1: hold on.
[1:17:11] Speaker 6: Let him answer this question. Let him answer this question.
[1:17:13] Speaker 1: Did it tarnish his legacy?
[1:17:15] Speaker 3: I'm asking you. It didn't tarnish his legacy.
[1:17:17] Speaker 6: So how will it tarnish Giannis' legacy?
[1:17:20] Speaker 3: I'm asking a question.
[1:17:21] Speaker 10: If Giannis goes there and he's not the number one,
[1:17:23] Speaker 10: he's going to somebody else's team. Steph Curry's been here
[1:17:26] Speaker 10: the whole time. Somebody else came to.
[1:17:29] Speaker 1: My team that's the best player.
[1:17:30] Speaker 11: To your point, holding up the trophy matters.
[1:17:32] Speaker 1: He never said Giannis.
[1:17:33] Speaker 6: He said holding up the trophy. It's not adding to it.
[1:17:37] Speaker 1: His legacy.
[1:17:37] Speaker 8: Holding up the finals MVP is what.
[1:17:39] Speaker 1: Matters, right?
[1:17:40] Speaker 6: You keep talking about finals MVP.
[1:17:42] Speaker 3: I didn't ask you to come here.
[1:17:44] Speaker 10: I'm saying Giannis is going to somebody else's team and
[1:17:47] Speaker 10: he's the second guy.
[1:17:48] Speaker 6: Now, you're the main guy over here.
[1:17:50] Speaker 10: You're coming over here to somebody else's team and you
[1:17:52] Speaker 10: still don't be the guy?
[1:17:53] Speaker 6: That is backwards.
[1:17:55] Speaker 3: That is backwards.
[1:17:57] Speaker 8: Like, KD's coming to Golden State.
[1:17:59] Speaker 6: This is already... I didn't ask you to come here.
[1:18:02] Speaker 12: So, they didn't ask him to come? They did ask
[1:18:07] Speaker 12: him to come. They did ask him to come. These
[1:18:10] Speaker 12: are facts. You asked him to come. You needed to
[1:18:14] Speaker 12: come here to be the guy, though.
[1:18:15] Speaker 4: When you got here, you needed to be the guy
[1:18:18] Speaker 4: for us to win.
[1:18:19] Speaker 3: The same with Braun and Miami. You got here. It's
[1:18:21] Speaker 3: my shit.
[1:18:22] Speaker 4: But listen, in order for you to be the guy
[1:18:25] Speaker 4: and us to win, you have to be the guy.
[1:18:27] Speaker 3: Here you go.
[1:18:27] Speaker 1: He's going to be the guy.
[1:18:28] Speaker 6: That's what he's saying.
[1:18:29] Speaker 1: That's what he's saying.
[1:18:30] Speaker 6: He doesn't even hurt Dwyane Wade in Miami.
[1:18:32] Speaker 8: You came to my team. I didn't ask you to
[1:18:35] Speaker 8: come here. My place still says I'm the guy.
[1:18:38] Speaker 1: You talking about Brunson?
[1:18:40] Speaker 6: Both guys.
[1:18:41] Speaker 1: That's what he's saying. Each guy in his situation.
[1:18:43] Speaker 4: Each guy in his situation. Brunson is going to have
[1:18:46] Speaker 4: to be like, hey, big fella, it's your shift.
[1:18:49] Speaker 8: Each guy in these situations, right, if they're not who
[1:18:51] Speaker 8: they are when they join up, Dwyane Wade still has
[1:18:54] Speaker 8: to be D.
[1:18:55] Speaker 6: Wade.
[1:18:56] Speaker 1: He still has to.
[1:18:57] Speaker 6: Be flashed in order for them to win.
[1:18:59] Speaker 11: And LeBron James needs to be the super. LeBron James
[1:19:01] Speaker 11: needs to be cool. But he hadn't won anything yet.
[1:19:05] Speaker 11: When he got there, that's the difference. And when he did, KD,
[1:19:09] Speaker 11: the same thing.
[1:19:09] Speaker 6: He didn't have anything. He didn't have no hardware when
[1:19:13] Speaker 6: he showed up.
[1:19:14] Speaker 3: Who?
[1:19:14] Speaker 6: KD didn't have no hardware when he showed up. He
[1:19:17] Speaker 6: didn't have the finals. No, he's talking about finals MVP.
[1:19:22] Speaker 3: LeBron didn't have anything. He had league MVP.
[1:19:26] Speaker 6: So did KD before he got there. But you're talking
[1:19:27] Speaker 6: about the finals, though.
[1:19:29] Speaker 3: So what are we talking about? Right? What are we
[1:19:31] Speaker 3: talking about?
[1:19:32] Speaker 1: No.
[1:19:32] Speaker 6: You keep talking about finals, MVP, and finals.
[1:19:34] Speaker 10: You said before LeBron got to Miami, he didn't have
[1:19:36] Speaker 10: any hard work.
[1:19:37] Speaker 8: The hard work that matters to him was winning it.
[1:19:40] Speaker 8: He said, I got this over here, but what mattered
[1:19:43] Speaker 8: to him was winning.
[1:19:44] Speaker 3: And also getting the finals MVP.
[1:19:46] Speaker 8: And he went to it somewhere that when a guy
[1:19:47] Speaker 8: already got one.
[1:19:48] Speaker 2: Right?
[1:19:49] Speaker 6: Yanni's showing up with both already.
[1:19:51] Speaker 12: I got league MVP MVP.
[1:19:53] Speaker 6: And finals MVP. And finals trophy, right?
[1:19:58] Speaker 1: But I have it. I have it. So when I
[1:20:01] Speaker 1: show up here, though, Kenyon, I'm the guy. I'm the guy.
[1:20:06] Speaker 1: When I show up in New York, I'm not the guy?
[1:20:09] Speaker 6: You do have it.
[1:20:10] Speaker 3: But as a New Yorker, as a New York fan,
[1:20:13] Speaker 3: you think I care what you did in Milwaukee?
[1:20:14] Speaker 1: Yes, they care.
[1:20:16] Speaker 2: No.
[1:20:16] Speaker 6: I need you to get us here.
[1:20:17] Speaker 3: He will. Okay, that's all I'm saying.
[1:20:20] Speaker 8: And his play, no matter what the end result, He
[1:20:24] Speaker 8: is going to show no matter. Listen, so I said yesterday,
[1:20:27] Speaker 8: no matter what jersey next year, Giannis puts on.
[1:20:31] Speaker 1: Right.
[1:20:31] Speaker 8: No matter what, it's going to be 27 to 30,
[1:20:35] Speaker 8: 11 to 13 rebounds and five to eight assists. That's
[1:20:42] Speaker 8: what it is going to be. That's what his numbers
[1:20:44] Speaker 8: is consistently. Doing his run, winning MVP of the league,
[1:20:49] Speaker 8: making it to the finals to now. His numbers are,
[1:20:51] Speaker 8: and he is who he is. Whatever team gets that,
[1:20:56] Speaker 8: it's going to be a plus. What I'm saying, if
[1:20:59] Speaker 8: he joins the New York Knicks, that is a plus.
[1:21:03] Speaker 3: We were discussing Giannis and the Knicks yesterday.
[1:21:05] Speaker 6: Because there's been talks during the trade deadline.
[1:21:07] Speaker 1: We said win or lose the championship.
[1:21:10] Speaker 3: So the conversation was, we said win or lose, should
[1:21:12] Speaker 3: the Knicks try to add Giannis to bolster? No team
[1:21:14] Speaker 3: has gone back-to-back in the last eight seasons, Swaggy. Everybody's
[1:21:17] Speaker 3: talked about running it back. That following year has not
[1:21:19] Speaker 3: been able. to even get back to the final. The
[1:21:21] Speaker 3: main guy needs to be the main guy in order
[1:21:23] Speaker 3: to win the championship. You're a megastar superstar. Does the
[1:21:25] Speaker 3: main guy have to be the main guy to win? Yes.
[1:21:37] Speaker 1: In order for him to get credit for the fucking
[1:21:40] Speaker 1: win for one.
[1:21:41] Speaker 4: Yes.
[1:21:41] Speaker 1: It's proven.
[1:21:41] Speaker 3: We've seen it.
[1:21:42] Speaker 1: We're talking about ego or winning. We're talking about the
[1:21:44] Speaker 1: main guy. We're talking about the main guy's ego.
[1:21:47] Speaker 3: This is not ego.
[1:21:47] Speaker 1: No, not about his ego. It's not about ego. It's
[1:21:49] Speaker 1: just about credit. It's about the credit you get. It's
[1:21:52] Speaker 1: about the credit. Hold on. We've been talking for 20 minutes. Yep.
[1:21:56] Speaker 1: What do you think, Skip?
[1:21:57] Speaker 2: It's very simple to me. Is Giannis better than Cat?
[1:22:02] Speaker 2: Is he just a better player? Does anybody remotely disagree
[1:22:06] Speaker 2: with that premise?
[1:22:07] Speaker 3: Okay.
[1:22:08] Speaker 2: Giannis is better. And you convinced me yesterday, actually more
[1:22:13] Speaker 2: after the show than during the show, that Giannis would
[1:22:17] Speaker 2: be a better basketball fit player. for Jalen Brunson and
[1:22:21] Speaker 2: the Knicks than Cat is because they would be sweet
[1:22:26] Speaker 2: combo off the pick and roll because Giannis is better
[1:22:29] Speaker 2: than that at that than Cat is.
[1:22:31] Speaker 6: Am I right?
[1:22:32] Speaker 1: Yes. Okay?
[1:22:33] Speaker 2: So now you haven't disrupted the chemistry of the team.
[1:22:37] Speaker 2: You arguably could improve the chemistry of the team. I'm
[1:22:41] Speaker 2: talking about the basketball chemistry, the offensive chemistry. I... Okay?
[1:22:47] Speaker 3: And yet.
[1:22:48] Speaker 2: Do you think Jalen would want, hypothetically, if they play
[1:22:51] Speaker 2: together for 70 games next year? Who do you think
[1:22:55] Speaker 2: takes more shots per game? Because I still think it's
[1:22:58] Speaker 2: Jalen Brunson would take more shots than Giannis and that
[1:23:01] Speaker 2: Giannis would be cool with that.
[1:23:03] Speaker 1: Yeah. Okay.
[1:23:03] Speaker 4: Let's not forget the conversation that ensued halfway through the
[1:23:07] Speaker 4: season that needed to reel Cat in to play a role.
[1:23:10] Speaker 3: They did.
[1:23:11] Speaker 1: For this team. Okay.
[1:23:12] Speaker 4: Not putting this same conversation into account when you're talking
[1:23:16] Speaker 4: about the sweet pick and roll of Giannis and Brunson
[1:23:19] Speaker 4: before the conversation.
[1:23:21] Speaker 1: Of it's Brunson's team, Cat.
[1:23:24] Speaker 4: We need you to do these things, be open, facilitate,
[1:23:28] Speaker 4: do what we need you to do as a team.
[1:23:31] Speaker 4: Is that the same conversation he's going to.
[1:23:32] Speaker 3: Have with Cat?
[1:23:34] Speaker 2: Okay, Giannis is probably a little.
[1:23:35] Speaker 1: In order for that pick and roll to look the way.
[1:23:37] Speaker 2: Is Giannis a better passer than Cat is?
[1:23:39] Speaker 1: Yes.
[1:23:40] Speaker 2: Better passer?
[1:23:40] Speaker 3: Yes.
[1:23:41] Speaker 2: Seven assists?
[1:23:42] Speaker 1: Yes, he's a better passer.
[1:23:43] Speaker 3: And he's a better outside shooter.
[1:23:45] Speaker 1: Who?
[1:23:46] Speaker 3: Cat. Cat is, for sure.
[1:23:47] Speaker 1: Is he a better role player?
[1:23:49] Speaker 3: Okay.
[1:23:50] Speaker 1: Yes. Does he fit the role better than.
[1:23:54] Speaker 3: Cat right now? The role we need from you? No.
[1:23:58] Speaker 4: Cat is doing what's needed for the team to roll
[1:24:01] Speaker 4: with Brunson at the front.
[1:24:03] Speaker 1: That's what has been done. The only thing that's comparable
[1:24:06] Speaker 1: is the rebound.
[1:24:06] Speaker 3: But Yannis is more ball-dominant too than Cat, obviously.
[1:24:09] Speaker 2: Okay, has Cat not been quiet lately?
[1:24:11] Speaker 1: He has been quiet, but what is the series right now? 3-1.
[1:24:14] Speaker 1: It's 3-1.
[1:24:16] Speaker 3: Quiet Cat or Loud Cat.
[1:24:18] Speaker 4: He's a fucking cat at the end of the day.
[1:24:21] Speaker 4: And we're winning with Cat by an end to the
[1:24:23] Speaker 4: team's chemistry concept. So when Yannis comes, it goes back
[1:24:27] Speaker 4: full circle what we're talking about. If Yannis is not
[1:24:30] Speaker 4: the man, he's got to fit into being little cat
[1:24:34] Speaker 4: in the little cat box.
[1:24:35] Speaker 3: Yannis ain't a little cat in the cat box.
[1:24:37] Speaker 2: Okay, isn't there some kitty cat in cat? Like kitty cat?
[1:24:41] Speaker 4: Can be, sometimes.
[1:24:44] Speaker 1: No claws.
[1:24:45] Speaker 2: Is there any kitty cat in Yannis? I haven't seen any.
[1:24:49] Speaker 8: Do you think Yannis will let Devin Vassell guard him
[1:24:52] Speaker 8: right now?
[1:24:52] Speaker 2: No.
[1:24:54] Speaker 1: In the post. Not a goddamn game.
[1:24:57] Speaker 4: Did you think Giannis was taking 28, 27 shots?
[1:25:00] Speaker 1: He don't need to because I shoot 60% from the field.
[1:25:03] Speaker 1: Do you think he's going to take them shots? In
[1:25:05] Speaker 1: the fourth quarter, yes. Given the fact that.
[1:25:07] Speaker 8: He's going to post up. Listen, he's going to roll,
[1:25:09] Speaker 8: post up, get the ball where he want to catch it.
[1:25:11] Speaker 8: Ain't nobody stopped Giannis from getting the ball where he
[1:25:13] Speaker 8: want to get it yet.
[1:25:15] Speaker 1: I do know that. Like I said, it's all hypothetical.
[1:25:19] Speaker 8: We just presented something yesterday on teams, what is most important,
[1:25:24] Speaker 8: I think, to winning, and no team has went... back
[1:25:28] Speaker 8: to the finals in the last eight years.
[1:25:31] Speaker 1: How do you upgrade.
[1:25:32] Speaker 3: As a team?
[1:25:33] Speaker 1: You have to upgrade. You have to get better.
[1:25:36] Speaker 3: You don't do that.
[1:25:37] Speaker 6: Through the draft.
[1:25:37] Speaker 2: Just a quick point. I got to defend the Thunder.
[1:25:41] Speaker 2: If they stay healthy, they're going to go back to back.
[1:25:43] Speaker 1: No, they're not.
[1:25:44] Speaker 3: Yes, they are. No, they're not. This year, they're winning.
[1:25:48] Speaker 2: They lost their second, third best player.
[1:25:52] Speaker 6: Well, guess what? They wasn't healthy and they did not
[1:25:55] Speaker 6: get back.
[1:25:55] Speaker 1: And they didn't show anything.
[1:25:57] Speaker 6: That proved that.
[1:25:57] Speaker 1: So they fit the eight teams that ain't made it back.
[1:26:00] Speaker 1: Did not even get back to the final. So let's
[1:26:02] Speaker 1: get back. Come on, Skip. We're wishing and.
[1:26:04] Speaker 3: Dreaming over there.
[1:26:05] Speaker 2: That's not dreaming.
[1:26:06] Speaker 3: It's fact. Oh, man. Let's get back to this series
[1:26:09] Speaker 3: real quick. Something we discussed a little bit earlier. Obviously,
[1:26:12] Speaker 3: we know Nick's up 3-1 right now. Spurs absolutely tricked
[1:26:15] Speaker 3: this game. Epic meltdown. De'Aaron Fox taking a lot of heat.
[1:26:18] Speaker 3: for his fourth quarter performance in game four in this
[1:26:20] Speaker 3: play that ultimately changed the course of the game. Let's
[1:26:23] Speaker 3: take a look at it. We talked about it a
[1:26:25] Speaker 3: little bit earlier. So Brunson misses the shot. Fox tips
[1:26:29] Speaker 3: it to himself. He thinks he's wide open like that.
[1:26:32] Speaker 3: Clear lane to the back.
[1:26:33] Speaker 1: You can't think you're wide open. Wow. Look what he's
[1:26:36] Speaker 1: looking at. Yes. You can feel him over here. Let's
[1:26:41] Speaker 1: go back again. Look how fast he's running. Look how
[1:26:44] Speaker 1: fast he's running.
[1:26:46] Speaker 2: Look, OG in front.
[1:26:47] Speaker 1: Right here, watch this. Right there. He can feel him
[1:26:50] Speaker 1: racing after. He knows that.
[1:26:53] Speaker 8: He said he thought he could outrun him, so he
[1:26:54] Speaker 8: saw him. His words was, I thought I could beat
[1:26:56] Speaker 8: him to the basket, so he saw him.
[1:26:59] Speaker 1: And he's ahead of him. Look at the burst, though.
[1:27:01] Speaker 3: It's crazy.
[1:27:03] Speaker 1: It's the even race, because he had to go wide, right?
[1:27:07] Speaker 8: Go back, go back. It's even at this point, because
[1:27:10] Speaker 8: he had to go wide. OG running straight. The quickest
[1:27:13] Speaker 8: way to point is a straight line, right? And that's why,
[1:27:16] Speaker 8: I mean, in the regular season, I feel like O.J.
[1:27:18] Speaker 8: may get a clear path foul on this one, too,
[1:27:19] Speaker 8: but on that grab. So he's running straight. The NFL's
[1:27:23] Speaker 8: got to take the loop. So they're even now. That's
[1:27:27] Speaker 8: an even race.
[1:27:29] Speaker 1: Whoops. That's even. And he see him right there. He's
[1:27:32] Speaker 1: looking at him. He hadn't got the ball yet. He
[1:27:33] Speaker 1: had to slow down to get the ball yet. For
[1:27:35] Speaker 1: him to just go up with it, he wanted to
[1:27:36] Speaker 1: get the foul. And he wasn't dribbling. He slowed down
[1:27:39] Speaker 1: to get the ball to Nick's point.
[1:27:40] Speaker 12: And that gave OG another step to catch up.
[1:27:43] Speaker 3: Fox asked about the play after the game. This is
[1:27:45] Speaker 3: what he had to say. Good point, Nick, that he
[1:27:47] Speaker 3: slowed down.
[1:27:48] Speaker 1: Slowed down. That's your thought process.
[1:27:50] Speaker 3: I haven't scored.
[1:27:52] Speaker 1: Try to get a layup, get up three.
[1:27:54] Speaker 2: You know, make them force them to need a three.
[1:27:56] Speaker 3: That would be a good thought. Usually, a lot of
[1:27:58] Speaker 3: the time in that situation, where you took the layup.
[1:28:00] Speaker 1: Guys would try to run it out and get fouled.
[1:28:02] Speaker 1: Did you think that you wanted to go for the
[1:28:04] Speaker 1: layup instead of trying to get the foul?
[1:28:05] Speaker 3: I just thought I'd be able.
[1:28:06] Speaker 1: To outrun them. Thought I'd be able to outrun them. Mistaken.
[1:28:12] Speaker 1: You didn't have an advantage. You didn't have the ball.
[1:28:14] Speaker 3: You didn't. You got to say dribble the clock out,
[1:28:17] Speaker 3: but even you got to shoot those two free throws
[1:28:18] Speaker 3: and make those two free throws.
[1:28:19] Speaker 1: But time is your friend. Still a three-point game. Time
[1:28:24] Speaker 1: is your friend.
[1:28:25] Speaker 3: You just seen Wimby trick off two humongous free throws.
[1:28:30] Speaker 1: That might be Wayne in the back. You get fouled.
[1:28:32] Speaker 1: You up, you up. It's like he was down.
[1:28:34] Speaker 4: He had a brain fart for sure. He was not
[1:28:37] Speaker 4: thinking about dribbling the clock out.
[1:28:40] Speaker 1: He wasn't.
[1:28:40] Speaker 3: He wasn't thinking about dribbling the clock out.
[1:28:42] Speaker 1: He had a different thought process.
[1:28:43] Speaker 4: He had a whole different, I'm going to go to
[1:28:46] Speaker 4: the rim. That was just not a savvy play. He
[1:28:48] Speaker 4: just didn't do what he was supposed to do.
[1:28:51] Speaker 3: Period.
[1:28:51] Speaker 1: As a point guard. As a point guard, I have
[1:28:55] Speaker 1: the ball.
[1:28:56] Speaker 4: It's up to me now. He actually gets the glory.
[1:29:00] Speaker 4: I get to sink the two free throws.
[1:29:02] Speaker 1: Boom.
[1:29:03] Speaker 4: Put us back in charge. It's up to me now.
[1:29:06] Speaker 4: We don't want nobody else to have the ball except
[1:29:07] Speaker 4: for him. We want him to have the ball.
[1:29:09] Speaker 3: In that position.
[1:29:10] Speaker 1: Dribble it out. But you are 82% free throw shooter.
[1:29:14] Speaker 1: It do matter. I'm confident. Free throws are the latest.
[1:29:19] Speaker 1: I'm confident. You're talking about a contested layup.
[1:29:22] Speaker 5: You feel like you got an open layup. I'll take
[1:29:24] Speaker 5: that over free throws.
[1:29:25] Speaker 1: It wasn't open. It wasn't open.
[1:29:27] Speaker 5: Yeah, if I was me I would have tried to
[1:29:31] Speaker 5: dunk that bit.
[1:29:32] Speaker 1: You got this shit pinned even worse. You got this
[1:29:36] Speaker 1: shit pinned even worse.
[1:29:37] Speaker 3: I would have.
[1:29:38] Speaker 1: Dunked his head so bad. They would have given me
[1:29:41] Speaker 1: a statue after. He caught it way too late to
[1:29:44] Speaker 1: even go up with it. You don't even have any...
[1:29:47] Speaker 1: Did he jump into it? Did he jump into him?
[1:29:53] Speaker 1: Look how fast he's going. He started too late. If
[1:29:55] Speaker 1: he tried to dribble, if.
[1:29:56] Speaker 3: He tried to dribble out of the rim, and you
[1:29:59] Speaker 3: didn't even jump, you just shot.
[1:30:02] Speaker 4: The old Fox used to dunk shit. Yeah, he used
[1:30:04] Speaker 4: to have bounce. Man, what happened?
[1:30:08] Speaker 1: He old.
[1:30:08] Speaker 3: He 27.
[1:30:09] Speaker 9: I don't like the situation D-Fox is in, though.
[1:30:13] Speaker 3: I never liked him here. Those young guns just put
[1:30:15] Speaker 3: too much pressure on him.
[1:30:16] Speaker 9: I'm definitely bringing the ball back out, and we're going
[1:30:18] Speaker 9: to play the free throw game.
[1:30:20] Speaker 2: Okay, would you think about trying to dunk it?
[1:30:22] Speaker 10: No, because I already see him coming right now, and
[1:30:25] Speaker 10: I know how this OG.
[1:30:26] Speaker 3: So I already know.
[1:30:27] Speaker 9: So I know for sure if I do go up, whatever,
[1:30:30] Speaker 9: I'm getting hard, I'm getting fouled hard, then I got
[1:30:32] Speaker 9: to figure out, you know, anything like that.
[1:30:34] Speaker 3: So I'm going to just bring it back out.
[1:30:35] Speaker 1: But if you go up and get fouled and make it,
[1:30:37] Speaker 1: you can go up for it.
[1:30:38] Speaker 8: So I'm glad you said that, B. I was thinking
[1:30:41] Speaker 8: about it just now.
[1:30:41] Speaker 1: It's a difference if you look and it's Jalen Brunson
[1:30:44] Speaker 1: trailing me. I can lay him. I can lay him.
[1:30:47] Speaker 8: If Josh Hart trailing me, Mikael Bridges, OG Ananobi.
[1:30:51] Speaker 1: They all fouling hard.
[1:30:52] Speaker 6: They going to go try to.
[1:30:53] Speaker 8: Something's going to happen at the rim, whether it's going
[1:30:55] Speaker 8: to be a foul or a block. Them three going to,
[1:30:57] Speaker 8: if it's Jalen Brunson, it's a different story. You can
[1:30:59] Speaker 8: go up over him, you got a great chance of
[1:31:01] Speaker 8: getting it at the rim.
[1:31:02] Speaker 1: So it's time, score, personnel.
[1:31:05] Speaker 8: Situation, all of that. Mattered in that moment, right? So
[1:31:08] Speaker 8: to Brandon's point like yeah, you got to know.
[1:31:10] Speaker 1: You who's coming.
[1:31:11] Speaker 6: Yeah Yeah, I mean it might look like I'm fast
[1:31:14] Speaker 6: with that. Listen, he's going fast to end No You
[1:31:16] Speaker 6: dribble out man you dribble that out man, let's go
[1:31:18] Speaker 6: let's just go play the free.
[1:31:18] Speaker 1: Throw guys They can start miss two free throws, but
[1:31:21] Speaker 1: I'm not him.
[1:31:21] Speaker 6: I So let's go to a free throw.
[1:31:32] Speaker 3: The way the game is going.
[1:31:34] Speaker 1: He's 22. I'm 28. I have experience.
[1:31:37] Speaker 5: Everybody assholes is tight right now. That's why he even
[1:31:40] Speaker 5: went up soft like that. Did he hit the free
[1:31:43] Speaker 5: throws in the game before? That was payback.
[1:31:48] Speaker 2: Yeah.
[1:31:48] Speaker 1: Hey, I was here at that jump shot. OG and
[1:31:54] Speaker 1: no be facing game three. So I just hit one.
[1:31:56] Speaker 1: I'm not worried about OG. I got the lefty left.
[1:31:58] Speaker 10: I'm going to play the free throw game. We go
[1:32:00] Speaker 10: up three, timeout, take it and let's just play some defense.
[1:32:03] Speaker 8: Worst case scenario, we take time off the clock. I
[1:32:05] Speaker 8: make or miss the free throws. They got to call
[1:32:09] Speaker 8: a timeout to try to run. So when we get
[1:32:10] Speaker 8: to set our defense... That's the worst-case scenario, right?
[1:32:13] Speaker 9: The worst thing, they're going to try to look for
[1:32:15] Speaker 9: a three or try to get a quick layup, and
[1:32:17] Speaker 9: then they're going to play the free-throw game.
[1:32:18] Speaker 4: This is a privilege to a coach not fouling. It's
[1:32:20] Speaker 4: in our favor. When you're up, when you're down three,
[1:32:24] Speaker 4: and you're supposed to foul. Well, is it down three?
[1:32:27] Speaker 3: Up three.
[1:32:28] Speaker 1: Up three.
[1:32:29] Speaker 4: And you foul so they don't shoot a three, and
[1:32:31] Speaker 4: you neglect not to foul, and they make the fucking three.
[1:32:34] Speaker 4: That's similar. This is Darren Fox dribble that bitch out.
[1:32:38] Speaker 4: You know they're going to foul. Why wouldn't you?
[1:32:41] Speaker 1: You're up one.
[1:32:42] Speaker 3: It's 10 seconds to go. There's no.
[1:32:45] Speaker 1: Miss Johnson at least called a timeout when he catched
[1:32:48] Speaker 1: the ball.
[1:32:50] Speaker 8: He don't think he finna go shoot that ball, though.
[1:32:52] Speaker 8: Miss Johnson ain't think that boy finna go shoot that ball.
[1:32:55] Speaker 1: Soon as we get this deal.
[1:32:57] Speaker 5: Thank you, Johnson.
[1:32:59] Speaker 1: I don't trust you.
[1:33:01] Speaker 2: Who is De'Aaron Fox to you? Because he was the
[1:33:05] Speaker 2: Clutch Player of the Year three years ago. He was
[1:33:08] Speaker 2: a king Is he still a Sacramento King to you
[1:33:12] Speaker 2: at heart?
[1:33:13] Speaker 1: I consider it.
[1:33:14] Speaker 2: Okay, because he is your point guard. In the end,
[1:33:18] Speaker 2: he is the point guard, right? I know the other
[1:33:20] Speaker 2: guys can handle, and Dylan Harper's coming a lot, but
[1:33:23] Speaker 2: he's more two to me, Dylan is. As pure point,
[1:33:28] Speaker 2: as the orchestrator of that offense, it's De'Aaron Fox. But
[1:33:34] Speaker 2: even though he's been in the playoffs before, it was
[1:33:37] Speaker 2: brief against Golden State. And at heart, to me, he's
[1:33:43] Speaker 2: still got too much Sacramento King in him because in
[1:33:46] Speaker 2: the second half, it's up to your leader, your point guard,
[1:33:50] Speaker 2: your orchestrator to get you in positions to milk the
[1:33:54] Speaker 2: clock correctly.
[1:33:55] Speaker 1: Yep.
[1:33:56] Speaker 2: And not jack up a bunch of threes. I can
[1:33:58] Speaker 2: make the case that if you just get shot clock
[1:34:01] Speaker 2: violations the whole second half, you're going to win because
[1:34:04] Speaker 2: they'll run out of math, right?
[1:34:06] Speaker 3: Yeah.
[1:34:06] Speaker 1: Okay?
[1:34:07] Speaker 2: So that's on De'Aaron Fox. And then you made the
[1:34:10] Speaker 2: point early in the show, did he have three turnovers
[1:34:13] Speaker 2: in the fourth quarters?
[1:34:14] Speaker 3: A couple of them were just horrible.
[1:34:16] Speaker 1: He had two blatant– Turnovers that's through it to them
[1:34:22] Speaker 1: and they went.
[1:34:23] Speaker 2: What we he went up and lost his dribble.
[1:34:25] Speaker 1: And just threw away like those.
[1:34:27] Speaker 3: Come on, man.
[1:34:28] Speaker 1: We blame it Fox. No, he's part of the quiz.
[1:34:30] Speaker 9: I don't like the system I never liked it with
[1:34:33] Speaker 9: San Antonio for him. I feel like like what you
[1:34:35] Speaker 9: said D Fox and with the King with the Kings
[1:34:39] Speaker 9: was just a total different player here I feel like
[1:34:41] Speaker 9: it's too many guards that can do the same thing. Yes,
[1:34:43] Speaker 9: I So he gets kind of lost in it. Like
[1:34:46] Speaker 9: he doesn't really know when to go, when not to go,
[1:34:47] Speaker 9: when to be down there.
[1:34:49] Speaker 2: Yeah, he's not sure of himself. He's not in control
[1:34:51] Speaker 2: of it.
[1:34:52] Speaker 8: You think all the losing over the years is affecting
[1:34:55] Speaker 8: decision making.
[1:34:57] Speaker 10: Yeah, I just don't think he's comfortable either. Yeah, he's
[1:34:59] Speaker 10: not comfortable either. Like if you go look at his
[1:35:01] Speaker 10: numbers in Sacramento. 25, 23, 26 a night.
[1:35:06] Speaker 1: But that was losing basketball. Yeah, but it was.
[1:35:09] Speaker 10: Yeah, but they got to the playoffs, but he's also
[1:35:10] Speaker 10: coming to his own. And now you come here, where
[1:35:13] Speaker 10: it's like you still trying to, then you got these
[1:35:15] Speaker 10: young dogs around you that can do everything you do.
[1:35:17] Speaker 3: But he's coming to the Spurs knowing that and saying,
[1:35:20] Speaker 3: I still want to go. No, he didn't come knowing that. Yes,
[1:35:22] Speaker 3: he did.
[1:35:23] Speaker 1: Nick, he said it in the interview. I'm knowing Harper.
[1:35:25] Speaker 1: You're doing this without knowing context of what he's already said.
[1:35:30] Speaker 3: He's coming to the Spurs knowing I'm playing second fiddle.
[1:35:33] Speaker 3: To win me, yes. Not second fiddle to Harper.
[1:35:36] Speaker 1: But you're jumping the fence.
[1:35:37] Speaker 5: I'm playing second fiddle to four people.
[1:35:39] Speaker 1: No, he came here to sacrifice his game. To win me, yes.
[1:35:45] Speaker 4: Nick, you're jumping the gun, killer. He already done said it.
[1:35:50] Speaker 4: He knew what he was signing up for.
[1:35:52] Speaker 1: Nick arguing a fact?
[1:35:53] Speaker 3: Yeah.
[1:35:54] Speaker 1: What did he say? What did he say?
[1:35:57] Speaker 3: I mean, I think Rich Paul said that they had
[1:35:59] Speaker 3: the conversation. If you go here, this is what it is.
[1:36:01] Speaker 1: He said, I'm with it.
[1:36:03] Speaker 4: He didn't say about no second fiddle, Nick.
[1:36:06] Speaker 1: It's just I have to sacrifice my game. This is
[1:36:09] Speaker 1: Wimby's team.
[1:36:10] Speaker 4: I'm sacrificing my game. That's what he's been doing. And
[1:36:14] Speaker 4: it's not been working for him. It's been working for
[1:36:17] Speaker 4: the team. It's been working for the team.
[1:36:21] Speaker 8: What it is is they didn't expect Stephon Castle to
[1:36:25] Speaker 8: come on as fast as he is. They don't expect
[1:36:28] Speaker 8: Dylan Harper to be a rookie and playing the way
[1:36:30] Speaker 8: he's playing. Those things were not expected as of yet.
[1:36:35] Speaker 8: But number two pick, yes, still is a rookie, yes.
[1:36:40] Speaker 6: Don't expect him to be playing that mature.
[1:36:42] Speaker 8: And not making the mistakes that you expect a rookie
[1:36:44] Speaker 8: to be making on this. Stephon Castle was a dog
[1:36:46] Speaker 8: when you drafted him at the fifth pick.
[1:36:48] Speaker 1: We knew what he was capable of. He is light years.
[1:36:52] Speaker 8: Above his draft years, I'm saying, in his competitive nature.
[1:36:56] Speaker 1: That's what we're seeing.
[1:36:57] Speaker 8: So DeFox, by default, has had to take a back
[1:37:02] Speaker 8: seat to those guys' production.
[1:37:04] Speaker 4: Because they're better than him.
[1:37:08] Speaker 8: He signed up to help Wimby to be a point
[1:37:11] Speaker 8: guard for Wimby for the future. It just so happened
[1:37:13] Speaker 8: he had the second pick and Dylan Harper was there.
[1:37:16] Speaker 1: It's just what it is.
[1:37:18] Speaker 3: But despite all that, he's still been put in positions
[1:37:20] Speaker 3: in this final.
[1:37:21] Speaker 1: That he should be the man.
[1:37:22] Speaker 8: He should still be a veteran that knows how to
[1:37:25] Speaker 8: play because to Brandon's point, he has averaged mid-20s in
[1:37:29] Speaker 8: his league for consistent years in a row.
[1:37:31] Speaker 1: He has been an all-star. He has made it in
[1:37:33] Speaker 1: the playoffs. Yes.
[1:37:36] Speaker 8: But it was a lot of losing within that as well.
[1:37:40] Speaker 8: But there was a glimpse of success. Y'all were the
[1:37:44] Speaker 8: three seed. Golden State was the sixth seed.
[1:37:46] Speaker 2: Y'all had home court.
[1:37:48] Speaker 1: And we know how that ended.
[1:37:49] Speaker 3: Right?
[1:37:52] Speaker 8: You should be more, but it's just the mother dudes
[1:37:55] Speaker 8: are playing well. You're coming out, we don't know if
[1:37:57] Speaker 8: you're still hurt to everybody's point. We don't know if
[1:37:59] Speaker 8: the ankle's still bothering you. We don't know, but you're
[1:38:01] Speaker 8: out there trying to compete for your team. You have
[1:38:03] Speaker 8: had some solid games as of late in this finals. So, Sean,
[1:38:08] Speaker 8: a question for you. Fox getting a lot of that blame.
[1:38:10] Speaker 8: Did Wimby choke in this game, in your opinion?
[1:38:12] Speaker 1: Everybody choked.
[1:38:13] Speaker 3: Okay.
[1:38:13] Speaker 4: The leaders, Wimby being the number one culprit. They all
[1:38:17] Speaker 4: shrunk in the moment, but just to go back on
[1:38:19] Speaker 4: the Aaron Fox. I consider him a superstar coming into
[1:38:25] Speaker 4: the playoffs based on his talent level, not his accolades
[1:38:29] Speaker 4: and none of that stuff. Just his talent can be superstar-ish.
[1:38:34] Speaker 4: And what he showed in Sacramento was that level of play.
[1:38:38] Speaker 4: These two other guys in the last two months have
[1:38:41] Speaker 4: grown exponentially to the point where they have shown to
[1:38:45] Speaker 4: be better players than De'Aaron Fox right now.
[1:38:48] Speaker 1: On the Spurs.
[1:38:49] Speaker 4: Beforehand, coming into this season, De'Aaron Fox was expected to
[1:38:53] Speaker 4: be the leader point guard, all that shit.
[1:38:55] Speaker 1: He's healthy. His hand's good. All right, we're going to
[1:38:58] Speaker 1: see what he can do.
[1:39:00] Speaker 4: Now we see that they can sub him out and
[1:39:04] Speaker 4: play without him, but they're still going to be a
[1:39:06] Speaker 4: young team making young mistakes, but they're going to have
[1:39:10] Speaker 4: a talented team, explosive, defensive.
[1:39:13] Speaker 1: They can do all the things without him. So when
[1:39:15] Speaker 1: you look at where he is now, I'm just like...
[1:39:20] Speaker 1: I got to step back from my statement because he's
[1:39:23] Speaker 1: declining in front of our eyes as far as age
[1:39:27] Speaker 1: and decision making, all the things that he's doing when
[1:39:30] Speaker 1: I'm watching. I'm putting them younger guys ahead of him.
[1:39:33] Speaker 1: And I'm saying, damn.
[1:39:34] Speaker 4: I probably crowned him too early because the Aaron Fox
[1:39:37] Speaker 4: is not stepping up to the moment as a superstar
[1:39:40] Speaker 4: guard should.
[1:39:42] Speaker 1: He's not doing what he's supposed to do. He said
[1:39:44] Speaker 1: it the other day. He admitted it the other day.
[1:39:47] Speaker 12: He said he's not going to die on that hill.
[1:39:50] Speaker 8: When I said that, that was the first time you
[1:39:52] Speaker 8: ever said that.
[1:39:53] Speaker 6: He said it the other day.
[1:39:54] Speaker 1: He ain't going to.
[1:39:55] Speaker 3: Die on that hill.
[1:39:58] Speaker 1: He's doubling down on his statement.
[1:39:59] Speaker 2: You didn't answer the question, though. Did Wimby choke?
[1:40:02] Speaker 1: I did.
[1:40:03] Speaker 2: You say everybody choked.
[1:40:04] Speaker 3: And I said especially him at being the leader.
[1:40:06] Speaker 2: Oh, especially him.
[1:40:08] Speaker 1: Being the leader. Especially him. He's the number one.
[1:40:11] Speaker 2: I can make the case that he has choked in
[1:40:14] Speaker 2: all four games down the stretch.
[1:40:17] Speaker 1: He's played bad. He hasn't played great.
[1:40:20] Speaker 4: The same way. So crazy. Threw a pass, a turnover.
[1:40:24] Speaker 1: Same way as G.A. did last year.
[1:40:26] Speaker 2: Even in the game they won.
[1:40:28] Speaker 1: They both choked. They both did.
[1:40:30] Speaker 2: G.A.
[1:40:30] Speaker 1: Choked. Now he's choking. It's just what it is.
[1:40:32] Speaker 2: Okay, but But now I look back at game one,
[1:40:35] Speaker 2: 57 seconds left. He had a terrible turnover. Then he
[1:40:38] Speaker 2: missed a three with 32 seconds left that would have
[1:40:40] Speaker 2: cut it to three. And then in game two, that
[1:40:44] Speaker 2: was the disaster game because he air balls a three
[1:40:47] Speaker 2: at 137. Then he misses a 17-footer for the lead
[1:40:51] Speaker 2: at 30 seconds left, has the terrible hits castle in
[1:40:54] Speaker 2: the back with the pass. And then with two seconds left,
[1:40:57] Speaker 2: he missed the game winner from 20 feet.
[1:40:58] Speaker 1: Okay.
[1:41:00] Speaker 2: And then game three, he doesn't score for the last
[1:41:02] Speaker 2: five minutes of the game, but they, McCastle makes the
[1:41:05] Speaker 2: huge three and the two free throws. And De'Aaron made
[1:41:10] Speaker 2: the one shot.
[1:41:11] Speaker 3: It was a big shot.
[1:41:12] Speaker 1: Yeah.
[1:41:13] Speaker 2: And then last night, he missed the two free throws.
[1:41:15] Speaker 2: He's two of nine in the fourth quarter. That's horrendous, man.
[1:41:19] Speaker 1: Pretty bad. Pretty bad. And Fox, we all blame that. Yeah.
[1:41:23] Speaker 3: That's why he messing up.
[1:41:24] Speaker 1: That's how we move narratives, Swaggy. The narrative is so bad.
[1:41:28] Speaker 8: No, because after the game, that was the loudest voice
[1:41:31] Speaker 8: after the game. Charles was the loudest voice after the game.
[1:41:34] Speaker 3: Well, same thing if Josh Hart misses that layup and
[1:41:37] Speaker 3: they lose that game. We wouldn't have heard the end
[1:41:39] Speaker 3: of that one.
[1:41:40] Speaker 8: We wouldn't have, but then, like I said, the very
[1:41:42] Speaker 8: next possession, man. Like, Josh Hart smoked the layup. San
[1:41:46] Speaker 8: Antonio got the rebound, dribbled, and Wimby got fouled and
[1:41:49] Speaker 8: went to the line and missed two immediately. So it
[1:41:53] Speaker 8: kind of negated Josh Hart's layup off top.
[1:41:58] Speaker 1: He smoked it, then instead it's like the Fox blocked,
[1:42:02] Speaker 1: negated Wimby's free throw. That's the game.
[1:42:05] Speaker 3: Why are we acting like Wimby didn't even miss free throws? Yeah,
[1:42:08] Speaker 3: that's the thing.
[1:42:08] Speaker 1: After Josh ran out of athleticism.
[1:42:15] Speaker 1: He ran out the letter because I'm at the rim.
[1:42:16] Speaker 1: He did. Just lay the bitch up.
[1:42:18] Speaker 5: Every breakdown with the Spurs this year, Wimby had a
[1:42:21] Speaker 5: place in it, but we don't.
[1:42:22] Speaker 1: Talk about it. Yeah, we do. You just don't listen. Okay.
[1:42:25] Speaker 1: That's all. I know.
[1:42:26] Speaker 4: That's why you keep bringing up ocean.
[1:42:29] Speaker 1: You keep bringing up ocean. The turnover when.
[1:42:32] Speaker 3: In the half court, I remember we was talking about.
[1:42:34] Speaker 8: They want him to be held accountable bad and shit.
[1:42:38] Speaker 1: This brother's starving, ain't he? This nigga is strapping. Leave
[1:42:43] Speaker 1: your fucking fingers over there, nigga.
[1:42:45] Speaker 3: Like, damn.
[1:42:46] Speaker 1: Wimby, Wimby, Wimby.
[1:42:50] Speaker 8: You want women to be held accountable bad?
[1:42:54] Speaker 4: Why are you trying to hide?
[1:42:57] Speaker 5: They're trying to crown him too early.
[1:43:01] Speaker 1: It's his fault. It's all him. They did try to
[1:43:04] Speaker 1: crown him.
[1:43:04] Speaker 9: Was Wimby better off just losing game seven against the
[1:43:06] Speaker 9: OKC Thunder? If that's your statement then? Based on some things.
[1:43:11] Speaker 3: In the four games? Based on something, Mr. B, he
[1:43:14] Speaker 3: will get penalized for going to this finals and not
[1:43:16] Speaker 3: winning if the Spurs do end up losing this series. Yes,
[1:43:19] Speaker 3: he will. Not by me, though. I respect the ability
[1:43:21] Speaker 3: to get there at 22 years old. Who will?
[1:43:23] Speaker 1: Winby. No, he won't.
[1:43:24] Speaker 3: No, he won't.
[1:43:25] Speaker 1: Really? He'll get a pass.
[1:43:26] Speaker 3: He'll get a pass.
[1:43:27] Speaker 1: He'll get a pass. He'll get a pass.
[1:43:28] Speaker 3: I'm telling you right now. I'm not giving Whitney no pass.
[1:43:31] Speaker 1: The square media, the square media, he is going to
[1:43:32] Speaker 1: get a pass.
[1:43:33] Speaker 3: I agree. Because the Knicks noise is going to be
[1:43:35] Speaker 3: so loud that.
[1:43:49] Speaker 8: Wimby's whatever is going to get swept to the wayside
[1:43:53] Speaker 8: and you're gonna pass cuz.
[1:43:54] Speaker 1: His age as a 22 very young His second.
[1:43:57] Speaker 8: Best player is right now for a castle Fox young
[1:44:03] Speaker 8: Trust me.
[1:44:04] Speaker 1: He'll get a pass. He's gonna win be all for cool, right?
[1:44:06] Speaker 1: He'll get a pass.
[1:44:07] Speaker 9: We saw when we losing it in the Olympics lose
[1:44:10] Speaker 9: again Anything with.
[1:44:13] Speaker 3: Anything with America he is getting his ass, but his.
[1:44:15] Speaker 1: Friends again.
[1:44:19] Speaker 3: He normally run from the media.
[1:44:20] Speaker 1: So, one last, two last things. He got that out
[1:44:23] Speaker 1: the way already. He ain't doing that again.
[1:44:24] Speaker 8: Yeah, he ducked the media. Not talking to the media.
[1:44:26] Speaker 8: He rose, he got roasted for that shit and trust me,
[1:44:28] Speaker 8: he won't do it again.
[1:44:29] Speaker 3: I say, he won't do it again. Somebody on the
[1:44:31] Speaker 3: couch didn't talk to him. He went to the wrong
[1:44:32] Speaker 3: Shia LaBeouf. He should have went to the slums. We're
[1:44:35] Speaker 3: talking about 36 chambers, but. And where he at? He'll
[1:44:40] Speaker 3: ant man for leaving and shaking people's hands.
[1:44:42] Speaker 1: Yes, you got damn right with me. Where he at?
[1:44:44] Speaker 3: You know where he at? He dropped a low on you?
[1:44:46] Speaker 1: Hopefully getting the video sent. Okay.
[1:44:48] Speaker 3: So teams that go up 3-1 in the NBA Finals
[1:44:50] Speaker 3: are 37-1 all-time. Skip, do you know the one team
[1:44:53] Speaker 3: who overcame a 3-1 Finals lead? Your guy.
[1:44:57] Speaker 1: Epic success.
[1:44:59] Speaker 2: It was Kyrie's team.
[1:45:01] Speaker 1: Epic success.
[1:45:02] Speaker 3: So on the underdog prediction market, Knicks now have an 81%
[1:45:05] Speaker 3: chance of winning this chip, while the.
[1:45:07] Speaker 1: Spurs' odds have dipped to 20%.
[1:45:14] Speaker 3: Like we said, only one team has come back from
[1:45:15] Speaker 3: a 3-1 deficit. Shot, do you still believe in the
[1:45:18] Speaker 3: Spurs squad? Yeah.
[1:45:20] Speaker 1: 3-1?
[1:45:21] Speaker 3: Are they cooked or do they have the ability to
[1:45:22] Speaker 3: come back here? We have a chance.
[1:45:24] Speaker 1: We, we? We have a chance.
[1:45:27] Speaker 3: A chance? Yeah.
[1:45:28] Speaker 2: That's all?
[1:45:29] Speaker 1: Yeah. Where does Chance work at? Tell Skip where Chance
[1:45:32] Speaker 1: and Hope work at. Thank you.
[1:45:33] Speaker 3: Chance is getting ready to clock in for her shift
[1:45:35] Speaker 3: with Hope.
[1:45:37] Speaker 1: She definitely worked the day shift.
[1:45:39] Speaker 3: Getting no dollars, all nickels thrown in.
[1:45:41] Speaker 1: She worked the day shift.
[1:45:42] Speaker 2: Yeah.
[1:45:43] Speaker 1: It's Sin City, baby.
[1:45:45] Speaker 3: But no, you go back to San Antonio for game five,
[1:45:48] Speaker 3: you get that one.
[1:45:50] Speaker 8: Come back to the Garden. Trump may come back. You
[1:45:51] Speaker 8: can finagle that one. This is a monumental meltdown.
[1:45:57] Speaker 1: Fragile.
[1:45:58] Speaker 4: If you get up 30 and lose 30-point deficit at
[1:46:02] Speaker 4: any point that New York Knicks go down in this
[1:46:06] Speaker 4: series from this point forward, they're not tripping.
[1:46:09] Speaker 1: It's going to be more people in San Antonio, more
[1:46:11] Speaker 1: Knicks fans. They have already scooped up all the tips.
[1:46:14] Speaker 1: They were down there for game one and two. It's
[1:46:16] Speaker 1: going to be more down there for the closeout game potentially.
[1:46:19] Speaker 3: Is there even a direct flight from New York to
[1:46:21] Speaker 3: San Antonio? There should have been one last night.
[1:46:23] Speaker 1: I know.
[1:46:24] Speaker 10: They should have got their asses out of New York
[1:46:26] Speaker 10: last night.
[1:46:26] Speaker 3: Hey, man. Yeah, Wimby got them eggs. These right here,
[1:46:28] Speaker 3: these eggs. We're going to talk about that one second,
[1:46:30] Speaker 3: but Brandon, before we do, this Saturday, make sure you

[1:46:58] Speaker 1: Very simple prompts. They look like Pat Bills, don't they?
[1:47:05] Speaker 3: You trying to tell me something?
[1:47:08] Speaker 1: I was going to say Bernie David. You got that chin.

[1:47:13] Speaker 3: That's cool.
[1:47:14] Speaker 1: I get it. It's in the eyes. It's in the nose.
[1:47:17] Speaker 3: Look, look.

[1:47:26] Speaker 3: I said he was like a nice man.
[1:47:28] Speaker 1: Braxton Hart. Like Kevin Samuels. God rest his soul.
[1:47:33] Speaker 4: It's like you're playing a Tubi movie, boy.
[1:47:36] Speaker 1: Definitely like a Tubi actor. Definitely like a Tubi actor.
[1:47:40] Speaker 1: All your secondary.
[1:47:42] Speaker 3: Oh, shit.
[1:47:42] Speaker 1: Yeah, they be like, he on my fucking Grand Theft Auto.
[1:47:45] Speaker 1: Like a D & C Nick, bro.
[1:47:46] Speaker 4: You can pick it. He in Miami somewhere. Pull up Saturday, 530.
[1:47:50] Speaker 3: But Mr. B, beginning of the show, you had a
[1:47:53] Speaker 3: box of eggs in this economy. Obviously, a very hefty
[1:47:56] Speaker 3: price tag coming with those eggs. So as if tricking
[1:47:59] Speaker 3: off the biggest game of his young career wasn't bad enough,
[1:48:03] Speaker 3: Knicks fans ended the evening with one last F you
[1:48:06] Speaker 3: for the alien in his squad.
[1:48:07] Speaker 1: Let's take a look. If we can't please.
[1:48:10] Speaker 3: Right? Boom.
[1:48:12] Speaker 1: Yo, man.
[1:48:12] Speaker 3: Nah. Fucking love who you are, bro. Waited for Wimby
[1:48:16] Speaker 3: and the Spurs outside their hotel. Proceeded to throw eggs.
[1:48:20] Speaker 3: at the alien.
[1:48:22] Speaker 1: Security tried to intervene. Fuck off me.
[1:48:25] Speaker 3: New York fans are fucking O.D. Damn. New York fans
[1:48:27] Speaker 3: are O.D.
[1:48:28] Speaker 1: I think it hit the... It hit the pole in
[1:48:30] Speaker 1: his head.
[1:48:31] Speaker 4: It hit the pole in his head, bro.
[1:48:34] Speaker 1: It hit the pole.
[1:48:35] Speaker 3: Because there's no yolk on the back of his head
[1:48:37] Speaker 3: swaying in that angle. Video review, no yoke, but very precise.
[1:48:44] Speaker 3: Very precise.
[1:48:45] Speaker 1: Yeah, these damn Knicks fans is out of control, man.
[1:48:47] Speaker 6: I blame that on the team. I blame it on
[1:48:49] Speaker 6: the Spurs organization. We got to get out of there.
[1:48:51] Speaker 3: Yeah. Like, when we played, we used to leave.
[1:48:53] Speaker 1: Straight to the airport?
[1:48:54] Speaker 3: Yeah, straight to the airport.
[1:48:56] Speaker 9: Why would I want to, after I just blow a
[1:48:58] Speaker 9: lead like that, want to stay in that same city
[1:49:01] Speaker 9: after that?
[1:49:01] Speaker 3: We got to get out of there, right?
[1:49:02] Speaker 1: Get your ass to Jersey.
[1:49:03] Speaker 3: Didn't you guys do it?
[1:49:04] Speaker 8: Yeah, we used to leave right away, but the way
[1:49:06] Speaker 8: they treat them now is they prefer them to get
[1:49:09] Speaker 8: a Good night sleep, but you not get in at
[1:49:13] Speaker 8: 2 in the morning. You know Yeah, they know but
[1:49:16] Speaker 8: that's what they do nowadays were for the young guys
[1:49:18] Speaker 8: They they monitor they sleep they got fucking sleep apps
[1:49:21] Speaker 8: on a phone. They try to log in when you're
[1:49:23] Speaker 8: laying down.
[1:49:24] Speaker 3: Okay, that's like from New York to San Antonio.
[1:49:27] Speaker 6: It's three and a half hours.
[1:49:29] Speaker 10: Give me up out here There's no way they slept
[1:49:31] Speaker 10: last night with all that noise.
[1:49:32] Speaker 1: After tricking that game off And being in that city,
[1:49:38] Speaker 1: loud outside the hotel, they didn't sleep.
[1:49:39] Speaker 6: Yeah, so I blame the eggs getting thrown at them
[1:49:41] Speaker 6: for the team.
[1:49:42] Speaker 2: A four-hour flight.
[1:49:43] Speaker 3: Roundabout, but that's wheels up to wheels down, about probably
[1:49:45] Speaker 3: 340 of actual airtime.
[1:49:46] Speaker 8: Yeah, that's the way they treat it. No, they should
[1:49:51] Speaker 8: have got out of there, man. Get out of that
[1:49:54] Speaker 8: wild-ass environment, man.
[1:49:56] Speaker 1: People have that. But they didn't, and.
[1:49:59] Speaker 3: It's the fact that I'm away from the Spurs outside
[1:50:01] Speaker 3: the hotel.
[1:50:02] Speaker 1: Yeah, outside the hotel. Used to be autograph seekers. Shout
[1:50:05] Speaker 1: out to them. We got some Wimby eggs for you.
[1:50:08] Speaker 1: Wimby eggs. I'll cook these. We got some Wimby number one.
[1:50:11] Speaker 1: I'll cook these for you.
[1:50:12] Speaker 6: We got some embryos for you.
[1:50:14] Speaker 1: I'll go ahead and cook these. You can make a quiche.
[1:50:17] Speaker 1: You can make a quiche if you'd like.
[1:50:19] Speaker 4: Scrambled eggs and cheese.
[1:50:22] Speaker 1: Or good.
[1:50:23] Speaker 3: Or Mr.
[1:50:23] Speaker 1: B's Blur's.
[1:50:24] Speaker 3: Get over here and glide. Glide, get over there and glide.
[1:50:28] Speaker 1: That is... That was funny.
[1:50:31] Speaker 3: Clyde, you move around.
[1:50:32] Speaker 5: Get over there and glide.
[1:50:33] Speaker 1: Get over there and glide. Get over there and glide.
[1:50:35] Speaker 8: Get over there and glide on the side.
[1:50:38] Speaker 1: Clyde, get over there and glide on the side.
[1:50:40] Speaker 3: Clyde to the side.
[1:50:42] Speaker 1: I'll talk to you when you open, nigga.
[1:50:45] Speaker 8: What these Knicks fans is doing is they making it
[1:50:48] Speaker 8: hard on the celebration, right? They're making it to where
[1:50:53] Speaker 8: the city is going to put quote-unquote handcuffs on the
[1:50:58] Speaker 8: celebration if they do win it, right?
[1:50:59] Speaker 1: That's what this is doing.
[1:51:01] Speaker 3: We know New Yorkers don't give a shit about rules, regulation,
[1:51:04] Speaker 3: or anything.
[1:51:05] Speaker 8: When they motherfucking got them billy clubs and them motherfucking
[1:51:07] Speaker 8: rubber bullets out.
[1:51:08] Speaker 3: There, bitch.
[1:51:09] Speaker 8: Trust me, if you get in line, they find that
[1:51:12] Speaker 8: shit that make you.
[1:51:15] Speaker 1: They get to spraying that shit in the air. Your
[1:51:18] Speaker 1: ass is.
[1:51:18] Speaker 4: Dispersed, trust me. We're not used to out here. They
[1:51:21] Speaker 4: in subways. They in subways with rats and shit. They
[1:51:24] Speaker 4: don't give a fuck about no gas. Yeah, they just
[1:51:26] Speaker 4: make it hard on the celebration.
[1:51:27] Speaker 1: They smell better. That's for sure.
[1:51:29] Speaker 3: I'm just a little worried because I like New York, man.
[1:51:30] Speaker 1: Yeah, but it's going to get out of control.
[1:51:33] Speaker 3: Gotham City, man. It's Gotham City, man.
[1:51:35] Speaker 1: They're going to be flipping cars and shit. They win
[1:51:37] Speaker 1: this motherfucker on Saturday. I need to go to some
[1:51:38] Speaker 1: of my restaurants.
[1:51:39] Speaker 3: El Molino.
[1:51:39] Speaker 4: Where's Batman? You're going to need Batman. Going to be
[1:51:42] Speaker 4: Flipping cars, man.
[1:51:44] Speaker 5: They ain't been running for 53 years.
[1:51:46] Speaker 1: It's going to seven, man.
[1:51:47] Speaker 6: Watch.
[1:51:48] Speaker 3: Shot, you still holding firm with that prediction? Seven game series.
[1:51:51] Speaker 3: Spurs can go back and take. That's what I'm saying.
[1:51:53] Speaker 3: We've seen a 29 point comeback. We've seen a lot
[1:51:55] Speaker 3: of wild shit this series. I don't think anything was surprising.
[1:51:57] Speaker 3: You need three straight.
[1:51:58] Speaker 1: Nah, you can't win these. And what they don't have
[1:52:01] Speaker 1: on this... We're just up 30. What they don't have
[1:52:02] Speaker 1: on this side... We're just up 30. How you blow that?
[1:52:05] Speaker 1: Think about it. We just had to blow that game
[1:52:07] Speaker 1: for y'all to be up 3-1.
[1:52:08] Speaker 3: Thank you.
[1:52:09] Speaker 1: We blew... 30 points? That's so crazy.
[1:52:13] Speaker 4: If you could fire a coach tonight, you'd fire that
[1:52:16] Speaker 4: motherfucker tonight.
[1:52:17] Speaker 1: The name's... Gone. The fuck? 30 points? I got a secret.
[1:52:22] Speaker 1: They ain't won on they floor.
[1:52:23] Speaker 3: This....
[1:52:26] Speaker 1: But they're coming back, eh? But they ain't got no win.
[1:52:29] Speaker 1: It's not their floor anymore, though. They ain't got no win.
[1:52:31] Speaker 8: In that building yet, man. It's not a good feeling
[1:52:33] Speaker 8: coming back home when you ain't won.
[1:52:35] Speaker 1: This finals yet.
[1:52:37] Speaker 3: It's not their floor anymore. It's not a good feeling
[1:52:38] Speaker 3: going back to that building, trust me. I feel like
[1:52:40] Speaker 3: it's going to be like 70-30 Knicks fans. Yeah, it's
[1:52:42] Speaker 3: going to be good. You ain't got no choice. It's
[1:52:44] Speaker 3: going to be 50-50. It's going to be that.
[1:52:47] Speaker 1: Do or die. 30-40% Knicks fans going to be there.
[1:52:49] Speaker 3: I think it might be more than that. They're going
[1:52:51] Speaker 3: to take over.
[1:52:51] Speaker 8: Some Spurs fans selling their tickets right now for top dollar.
[1:52:56] Speaker 3: I know I would.
[1:52:58] Speaker 8: Hey, if you held some season tickets and somebody want
[1:53:02] Speaker 8: to give you eight, nine, ten, X your money for
[1:53:06] Speaker 8: these finals tickets, hey, you know what? I know they're
[1:53:09] Speaker 8: asking us not to sell these things on the black. Hey,
[1:53:11] Speaker 8: but hey, I got bills to pay.
[1:53:14] Speaker 5: And if you're the NBA, do you want them to
[1:53:16] Speaker 5: win on the road instead of at home?
[1:53:19] Speaker 3: After.
[1:53:19] Speaker 1: Yeah.
[1:53:20] Speaker 8: They might fool you the way it go, but I
[1:53:22] Speaker 8: prefer to win on the road.
[1:53:23] Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
[1:53:24] Speaker 1: Absolutely, if I'm the league, I prefer to win on
[1:53:25] Speaker 1: the road. Right, give us a little time to get
[1:53:28] Speaker 1: prepared for the parade because either way it go, they're
[1:53:31] Speaker 1: going to tear that bitch up.
[1:53:32] Speaker 3: For sure.
[1:53:34] Speaker 1: Spurs in seven.
[1:53:36] Speaker 3: Skip, do you think Spurs have any hope in this
[1:53:37] Speaker 3: series to at least make it competitive?
[1:53:40] Speaker 1: Knicks in six. Still Knicks in six.
[1:53:42] Speaker 2: But I do think the Spurs will. pick themselves back
[1:53:46] Speaker 2: up off the canvas, and win game five at home.
[1:53:50] Speaker 2: I just think they're that good. And to your point,
[1:53:52] Speaker 2: they were up 29.
[1:53:53] Speaker 1: They're going to have to pull a Mike Tyson and
[1:53:57] Speaker 1: bite an ear.
[1:53:58] Speaker 3: Yeah. Kick him in the shin.
[1:54:02] Speaker 1: Just kick him in the shin.
[1:54:02] Speaker 4: He ain't never been kicked in the shin before.
[1:54:04] Speaker 1: It hurts. It's over.
[1:54:09] Speaker 5: I got five now. I had six from the start.
[1:54:12] Speaker 3: I think Spurs win the game.
[1:54:13] Speaker 1: I might be right.
[1:54:15] Speaker 3: I think six.
[1:54:17] Speaker 1: Five. I said five initially. I said Knicks and five.
[1:54:19] Speaker 1: I think Spurs go home.
[1:54:21] Speaker 3: I said Knicks and six.
[1:54:22] Speaker 1: Yeah, I said Knicks and five.
[1:54:23] Speaker 3: I mean, it would be safe for the Knicks to
[1:54:24] Speaker 3: win in San Antonio.
[1:54:26] Speaker 1: Yeah, that's why I think five. You got to wait.
[1:54:28] Speaker 6: Yeah, let them go ahead and do what they think.
[1:54:31] Speaker 5: Once I seen the eggs that win, I would say, yeah,
[1:54:33] Speaker 5: they got to win on the road. Because they won't
[1:54:35] Speaker 5: let them out of the arena, bro.
[1:54:37] Speaker 3: Spurs will be trapped in Madison Square Garden. Spurs will
[1:54:39] Speaker 3: be trapped inside. Yeah, man.
[1:54:41] Speaker 1: Oh, they wouldn't be able to leave. That's what I'm saying.
[1:54:42] Speaker 1: And if they win that game?
[1:54:44] Speaker 8: If they win game five and they go back to
[1:54:46] Speaker 8: New York and New York winning game six, they will
[1:54:49] Speaker 8: not be.
[1:54:49] Speaker 1: Able to get out of the guard.
[1:54:50] Speaker 3: Come on.
[1:54:51] Speaker 6: They wouldn't be able to get out of the guard.
[1:54:54] Speaker 1: They might as well stay there all night, brother.
[1:54:56] Speaker 3: Yeah. Like stay in the locker room. They're going to
[1:54:58] Speaker 3: flip that.
[1:54:59] Speaker 1: Get the sketchbook out.
[1:55:01] Speaker 8: They would have to have so much police presence and
[1:55:04] Speaker 8: escort to get that bus out of that side street.
[1:55:07] Speaker 6: You know how congested that side street is with that
[1:55:10] Speaker 6: bus park?
[1:55:10] Speaker 1: That bus would be.
[1:55:11] Speaker 6: You know what I'm saying? They'd be gliding like flies.
[1:55:14] Speaker 6: You know what I'm talking about?
[1:55:16] Speaker 3: But on that note, game five Saturday. We'll see if
[1:55:19] Speaker 3: women in the Spurs can keep their season alive.
[1:55:21] Speaker 1: One more note. I want to say happy anniversary, man,
[1:55:24] Speaker 1: to my wife. It's my 10th anniversary.
[1:55:28] Speaker 3: Give him the single and can you do it again? Three, two, one, go.
[1:55:31] Speaker 8: Yeah, I want to say happy anniversary, man, to my wife.
[1:55:33] Speaker 8: It's our 10th anniversary, man. A lot of y'all always
[1:55:37] Speaker 8: hear me reference on this couch that she is my
[1:55:39] Speaker 8: better half and things would have been fell off the
[1:55:42] Speaker 8: rails without her. And that is true. She has been
[1:55:45] Speaker 8: putting up with me for 20 years. We've been married
[1:55:47] Speaker 8: for 10 years. And this is a special occasion, man,
[1:55:52] Speaker 8: for me and her. She has allotted me grace over
[1:55:57] Speaker 8: the years for me to grow into a man and
[1:55:59] Speaker 8: be the person that I am, the husband, the man
[1:56:00] Speaker 8: I am today. So this is her day, her special day, man,
[1:56:03] Speaker 8: for putting up with me. Happy anniversary.
[1:56:19] Speaker 3: Recently?
[1:56:20] Speaker 2: No.
[1:56:21] Speaker 1: Clean slate as of late. You been good?
[1:56:23] Speaker 3: I've been great.
[1:56:24] Speaker 1: Wiping your feet when you're walking in. Yeah, I've been good, man.
[1:56:26] Speaker 8: I've been, no, I've been, listen, I said them first
[1:56:28] Speaker 8: 10 years, I said we've been 20 years. Them first
[1:56:30] Speaker 8: 10 wasn't easy, man. For her to still be with
[1:56:33] Speaker 8: me after that and marry me after 10 years, it
[1:56:35] Speaker 8: wasn't easy, trust me. So I put that woman through
[1:56:37] Speaker 8: hell for 10 years and I knew it and I
[1:56:39] Speaker 8: wasn't easy. So for her to allow me the grace
[1:56:42] Speaker 8: to grow.
[1:56:43] Speaker 3: We know.
[1:56:44] Speaker 1: Wow.
[1:56:45] Speaker 3: All right.
[1:56:45] Speaker 1: Well, God is good. All the food good. All the
[1:56:47] Speaker 1: food good.
