[0:15] Speaker 1: how everybody feeling. Good. Good.
[0:18] Speaker 2: That's free.
[0:19] Speaker 1: I was about to say, Gil is elated today. I
[0:22] Speaker 1: can tell you that.
[0:24] Speaker 3: He kick back and he like. I might just start
[0:29] Speaker 3: one just because.
[0:30] Speaker 1: Right? I'm still waiting on them to tell me who
[0:34] Speaker 1: they is.
[0:34] Speaker 4: No, that's true.
[0:35] Speaker 5: I saw that. Good to be on this side of
[0:37] Speaker 5: the couch because I got the enforcer next to me
[0:40] Speaker 5: to protect me from you.
[0:41] Speaker 4: Me?
[0:41] Speaker 6: No, no, no.
[0:42] Speaker 4: He ain't here.
[0:43] Speaker 1: We're arguing. We're going to argue about something today. I'm not.
[0:46] Speaker 2: We're going to argue about something.
[0:48] Speaker 1: We got something to argue about. Something. But this is
[0:52] Speaker 1: Gills Arena presented by Underdog. I'm your host, Josiah Johnson.
[0:56] Speaker 1: We got NBA legend, ARC Raiders, most wanted, Gilbert Arenas
[0:59] Speaker 1: back here with us.
[1:00] Speaker 2: Yes, sir.
[1:01] Speaker 1: What's the bounty?
[1:02] Speaker 2: Is that too many?
[1:03] Speaker 1: Nah, they stopped at five.
[1:05] Speaker 4: Can they collect? They can't afford it.
[1:10] Speaker 1: On this side of the couch, representing Tough Crowd, card-carrying
[1:12] Speaker 1: country club member, we got former Milwaukee Buck, Mr. B,
[1:15] Speaker 1: Brandon Janney. Talk to your crew over there. They are
[1:19] Speaker 1: a little chaotic right now. They're very messy. Man, season over. Okay.
[1:25] Speaker 1: Might just be beginning. That shit over. On that side
[1:27] Speaker 1: of town. Man, listen, boy, that implode. starting Doc. Titan submarine.
[1:34] Speaker 1: Hate to do it to him, but... He want to
[1:37] Speaker 1: spend more time with his grandkids. They going to be
[1:40] Speaker 1: paying three head coaches. That's a damn shame. On this
[1:43] Speaker 1: side of the couch, we got the distinguished gentleman from
[1:45] Speaker 1: Oak Cliff, former number one pick, Kenyon Martin. Last but
[1:52] Speaker 1: not least, one of the biggest legends in the sports
[1:54] Speaker 1: media game, Skip Bayless. Back in Gills Arena. Good foot, too.
[2:03] Speaker 1: Good foot on over here.
[2:06] Speaker 5: What size shoe you wear?
[2:09] Speaker 2: 11.
[2:09] Speaker 5: 11 from heaven.
[2:14] Speaker 1: You are safe in this room. We are a big foot.
[2:17] Speaker 1: But we got a lot to discuss.
[2:20] Speaker 2: 14 and up, baby.
[2:21] Speaker 1: The best ones was being 11 and a half or
[2:23] Speaker 1: 12 and a.
[2:24] Speaker 4: Half back in the day.
[2:24] Speaker 1: I'm a 12 and a half. That's what I did.
[2:28] Speaker 1: That would be the last size they have at Foot Locker.
[2:31] Speaker 1: That's when y'all come to learn.
[2:31] Speaker 4: No, those are the only ones they had left. No, no,
[2:34] Speaker 4: those are the only ones they had left was the half,
[2:35] Speaker 4: the 12 and a half.
[2:38] Speaker 1: And then they cut that out.
[2:40] Speaker 7: Okay.
[2:40] Speaker 1: We got a lot to discuss. Yeah, the half sizes
[2:43] Speaker 1: are ideal. 13 and a half. We got a lot
[2:48] Speaker 1: to discuss. Here's what's cracking in Gil's arena today. The
[2:52] Speaker 1: Rockets have won seven straight games. We're on the verge
[2:54] Speaker 1: of taking over the fourth seed, potentially the third seed
[2:57] Speaker 1: if the Nuggets trick it off. But is Houston for
[2:59] Speaker 1: real or Fugazi? The NBA is investigating the Bucs for
[3:04] Speaker 1: keeping Giannis sidelined despite him saying he's ready to play.
[3:07] Speaker 1: We break down the messy situation going down in Milwaukee.
[3:11] Speaker 1: And Cooper Flagg came through with an historic scoring weekend.
[3:14] Speaker 1: The flag lock up the rookie of the year. Before
[3:17] Speaker 1: we get into all that, as always, this show is

[4:01] Speaker 1: final time in the regular season. It was KD's first
[4:03] Speaker 1: time back playing in Phoenix since the Blockbuster trade last
[4:07] Speaker 1: summer that sent him to the Rockets. Jalen Green's first
[4:09] Speaker 1: time playing against his former team. Things got chippy in
[4:12] Speaker 1: this one. Both teams fighting for playoff position in the
[4:15] Speaker 1: final week of the season. Let's take a look at
[4:17] Speaker 1: the highlights if we can, please. My good man, Ian.
[4:21] Speaker 1: Suns came out on fire in the first quarter. They
[4:25] Speaker 1: put up 37 points, including a 24-0 run led by
[4:28] Speaker 1: as much as 21 points in the quarter. 16 after
[4:35] Speaker 1: the first frame, though. The Rockets started to mount a comeback.
[4:38] Speaker 1: Rockets bounced back in the second quarter, cutting the deficit
[4:41] Speaker 1: to three by halftime. KD and Dylan Brooks had some
[4:46] Speaker 1: shenanigans going on. We will discuss that more in depth
[4:48] Speaker 1: in just a little bit. Houston had seven players score
[4:52] Speaker 1: in double figures in the game. Eamon Thompson stuffed the
[4:54] Speaker 1: stat sheet. 22 points, 11 rebounds, 8 assists, and 3 steals.
[4:58] Speaker 1: Taking his matchup with Jalen Green personally, KD finished with
[5:01] Speaker 1: 24 points on 8 of 20 shooting. He was 5
[5:03] Speaker 1: for 9 from 3. And like I mentioned, him and
[5:06] Speaker 1: Dylan Brooks got into it, but he was unfazed by that.
[5:09] Speaker 1: Jabari Smith had 20, and Alperin Changun had 12 points,
[5:12] Speaker 1: 14 boards.
[5:12] Speaker 4: Fuck, man.
[5:14] Speaker 1: In six assists, Devin Booker led the Suns with 31
[5:16] Speaker 1: points while Jalen Green added 15 on 5 of 14 shooting.
[5:21] Speaker 1: Brooks Trash Talk didn't work in this one. He finished
[5:24] Speaker 1: with 10 points on 3 of 12 shooting. He was
[5:25] Speaker 1: one for seven from three.
[5:28] Speaker 6: You see it.
[5:29] Speaker 1: So Houston outscored Phoenix 65 to 48 in the second
[5:33] Speaker 1: half as the Suns cooled off in the final three
[5:35] Speaker 1: quarters after their hot start. So with the loss, the
[5:38] Speaker 1: Suns are now locked in the play-in. Currently seventh at
[5:42] Speaker 1: the Clippers. keep doing what they're doing, they could potentially
[5:44] Speaker 1: push them down to the A spot. While the Rockets
[5:47] Speaker 1: have won seven straight games, now tied with the Lakers
[5:50] Speaker 1: for the fourth spot in the West with three games remaining.
[5:53] Speaker 5: L.A.
[5:53] Speaker 1: Still holds a tiebreaker, but based on how things are
[5:55] Speaker 1: looking out there, they're not going to have enough wins
[5:59] Speaker 1: to get it done. But Gil, we'll start with you.
[6:00] Speaker 1: What are your biggest takeaways from the Rockets' win over
[6:03] Speaker 1: the Suns?
[6:07] Speaker 4: You know, when the season first started, we thought with
[6:13] Speaker 4: adding KD and what they did last year, that this
[6:15] Speaker 4: team would be competing at one or two, right? And
[6:20] Speaker 4: it seemed like that they really did need a point guard.
[6:26] Speaker 1: They're a point guard.
[6:28] Speaker 4: That can shoot the ball and get everybody in position.
[6:32] Speaker 4: Where they struggle at is they're very athletic. They get
[6:35] Speaker 4: out in the open. They're very good in the open.
[6:38] Speaker 4: When you put them in half court and make the
[6:42] Speaker 4: other guys... make decisions, that's where it gets a little murky,
[6:46] Speaker 4: and when you're talking about playing playoff basketball, you have
[6:52] Speaker 4: to be dialed in, and yes, they won seven games straight,
[6:57] Speaker 4: but are they dialed in to winning series and series
[7:02] Speaker 4: to go to that ship and compete for a championship?
[7:05] Speaker 4: I don't know, because it seems like if you can
[7:09] Speaker 4: contain KD and make KD take under 20 shots, and
[7:16] Speaker 4: it's just Sangoon playing one-on-one and everybody else shooting from
[7:19] Speaker 4: the outside, even though they got them 6'10, and they're
[7:21] Speaker 4: not attacking that basket, they will struggle, right? So, you know,
[7:27] Speaker 4: they're a good team. They're a dangerous team, but will
[7:30] Speaker 4: they find the rhythm that they need to push in
[7:35] Speaker 4: the playoffs when they're going against the OKC, when they're
[7:38] Speaker 4: going against Denver Nuggets? when they're going against even the Spurs, right?
[7:48] Speaker 4: You know, those teams will have the advantage over them,
[7:54] Speaker 4: so they're going to have to play great basketball and
[7:57] Speaker 4: be careful of what they're doing.
[8:00] Speaker 1: You look at that seven-game win streak, not necessarily against
[8:02] Speaker 1: the best that the NBA has to offer, a lot
[8:05] Speaker 1: of fluff in there, but Mr. B, you look at
[8:06] Speaker 1: this Rockets team, are they clicking at the right time or?
[8:10] Speaker 6: I mean, they're winning the games they're supposed to win,
[8:12] Speaker 6: but I think they're cooked. I mean, I've seen it.
[8:16] Speaker 6: I think they've been overrated the whole year. I said
[8:19] Speaker 6: it before. Last year, I felt like they were better.
[8:22] Speaker 6: They just gave up on their two. They gave up
[8:24] Speaker 6: on Jalen, and they gave up on Dylan Brooks, who
[8:27] Speaker 6: are having good years over there this year with the Suns.
[8:32] Speaker 6: But they struggled on the half court. They turned the
[8:34] Speaker 6: ball over. They started off. They were down 26-5. I mean, yeah,
[8:39] Speaker 6: they went on a seven-game win streak, but they played
[8:42] Speaker 6: against teams like Utah, Milwaukee, Grizzlies, the Bucs.
[8:48] Speaker 1: I don't know if they played them, but you just
[8:50] Speaker 1: told them. Yeah, they did.
[8:51] Speaker 6: But, I mean, the only real win I'll give them
[8:53] Speaker 6: is that Knicks one. So, for me, it's just, yeah,
[8:57] Speaker 6: I mean, you know, if they match up with the Lakers,
[8:59] Speaker 6: they better hope.
[9:00] Speaker 1: Luka and A.R.
[9:01] Speaker 6: Aren't playing because I don't see them getting past the
[9:04] Speaker 6: Lakers because they turn over the ball too much in
[9:06] Speaker 6: half court.
[9:07] Speaker 1: So, I don't know.
[9:08] Speaker 6: We'll see what happens.
[9:09] Speaker 1: It feels good to hear you say that.
[9:12] Speaker 6: I'm just saying.
[9:13] Speaker 1: I don't think you've seen the Lakers in half credit.
[9:16] Speaker 6: Yeah, but it's better than that. I'll take my chance
[9:20] Speaker 6: over that.
[9:20] Speaker 1: All right, let's shift over to this side of the couch. Kenyon,
[9:23] Speaker 1: you've seen this Rocket squad. We've been watching them all year.
[9:26] Speaker 1: They're struggling in clutch, struggling without having a true point guard.
[9:30] Speaker 1: Reed Shepard has kind of tried to fill that void.
[9:31] Speaker 1: I think he started the last four or five games.
[9:34] Speaker 1: Been playing solid, but Yeah, this Rockets team is for
[9:38] Speaker 1: real or Fugazi?
[9:43] Speaker 2: I don't know.
[9:46] Speaker 1: One day they look like they can compete, and the
[9:48] Speaker 1: next day they look like they don't know how to
[9:51] Speaker 1: play basketball at times without KD being out there. You
[9:54] Speaker 1: know what I'm saying?
[9:58] Speaker 3: I think they've played a long season and for the
[10:00] Speaker 3: jury to still be out is not a good thing.
[10:05] Speaker 3: The fact that to Gil's point, they don't make shots.
[10:10] Speaker 3: Reese Shepard can make shots, but he's not the point
[10:12] Speaker 3: guard that you need to get people involved. He's looking
[10:16] Speaker 3: for his shot first. Sort of a liability on defense,
[10:21] Speaker 3: but try to neutralize that by making shots. Yeah, their
[10:29] Speaker 3: success is definitely reliant on KD having KD Knights 27
[10:37] Speaker 3: to 35 and Sangoon putting numbers on the board. If
[10:42] Speaker 3: they're doing that, they're tough to beat. With Thompson going
[10:45] Speaker 3: downhill and Jabari making jump shots, if they're doing that,
[10:49] Speaker 3: they're tough to beat. But that's where it gets tricky
[10:55] Speaker 3: after that. You got solid players, but in this league,
[10:59] Speaker 3: you have to be able to make shots.
[11:00] Speaker 6: We know that.
[11:01] Speaker 3: And they don't have shot makers coming off the bench
[11:04] Speaker 3: in case guys start a lineup and not.
[11:06] Speaker 1: Getting it done.
[11:09] Speaker 3: Whoever they match up with in the first round is
[11:12] Speaker 3: going to be a Difficult time because of game planning,
[11:15] Speaker 3: but they will make them shoot. They will make the
[11:18] Speaker 3: ball find certain guys.
[11:22] Speaker 2: Are they capable? Yeah, are they capable in the series?
[11:24] Speaker 3: I think it just depends on who they match up
[11:25] Speaker 3: with depends on if KD is Game planning with him
[11:30] Speaker 3: right depends on how they go. So I think Gil
[11:33] Speaker 3: said something that was Key if they keep him 15
[11:37] Speaker 3: to 20 shots. I by doubling him and making him
[11:41] Speaker 3: uncomfortable and making him a passer, it's going to be tough.
[11:46] Speaker 3: So it's going to be tough, but.
[11:50] Speaker 2: Don't know.
[11:51] Speaker 1: Really don't know. Listen, some days it looks more promising.
[11:54] Speaker 1: Other days, I really like it. Well, last one, but
[11:58] Speaker 1: a little shift over to Skip. Skip, when you look
[12:01] Speaker 1: at this Rocket squad, do you feel like the Rockets
[12:03] Speaker 1: for real or the Rockets fugazi?
[12:07] Speaker 5: This Rocket squad is real enough that if it winds
[12:11] Speaker 5: up in a 4-5 with the Lakers, even if the
[12:14] Speaker 5: Lakers have Luka and have AR and have LeBron, who
[12:18] Speaker 5: was out with a foot injury, I think he just said,
[12:22] Speaker 5: I can't do this. But if the Lakers are whole,
[12:29] Speaker 5: that's true. If the Lakers are whole, the Rockets will
[12:33] Speaker 5: still beat the Lakers because the Rockets have found themselves
[12:37] Speaker 5: their best version of themselves lately. And I root for them,
[12:44] Speaker 5: not because of Kevin Durant, but because of that coach.
[12:47] Speaker 5: I just love this coach. Ime is my kind of
[12:50] Speaker 5: coach because he's your kind of guy. And this team
[12:53] Speaker 5: has some of you in it because what it does
[12:56] Speaker 5: do better than anybody in this league is it will
[13:00] Speaker 5: just kick your ass on the backboards every single night,
[13:04] Speaker 5: especially the offensive glass. They destroyed Phoenix on the glass
[13:09] Speaker 5: last night. It was 55-34.
[13:13] Speaker 2: Rebounds.
[13:14] Speaker 5: And offensive rebounds were 24-10. So they are just crashing
[13:19] Speaker 5: the glass. And allow me to say amen to Amin
[13:24] Speaker 5: Thompson because he has grown up before your very eyes.
[13:28] Speaker 5: He is a problem for everybody on both ends of
[13:31] Speaker 5: the floor. On just sheer energy on defense and crashing glass.
[13:36] Speaker 5: and driving on the offensive end. And the other weird
[13:41] Speaker 5: thing about them, as Gil pointed out, obviously they've been
[13:45] Speaker 5: adrift without their leader and their point guard the whole year,
[13:48] Speaker 5: but the last seven games, I'm seeing the center become
[13:53] Speaker 5: their joker of a point guard. And what did Kevin
[13:56] Speaker 5: say in his stand-up interview on court right after the
[13:59] Speaker 5: game last night in Phoenix? He said, we just fed
[14:04] Speaker 5: off Alpey in the fourth quarter. And I'm like, You did?
[14:07] Speaker 5: And I'm looking, and Shingun is now the point center
[14:12] Speaker 5: of this team. So the offense is going through Shingun,
[14:16] Speaker 5: and he's leading them in assists. He's six a game.
[14:20] Speaker 5: I know it's not 10 a game, but he is
[14:22] Speaker 5: leading this team in assists, and they've found their best
[14:26] Speaker 5: version of themselves with him initiating every offensive possession. The
[14:32] Speaker 5: ball goes to him first, and he kicks it, or
[14:34] Speaker 5: he drives it and kicks it, And that's the best
[14:39] Speaker 5: they can be. So do I think they could beat
[14:42] Speaker 5: the Lakers in a 4-5? I definitely do. Can they
[14:45] Speaker 5: beat the Thunder in the semifinals of the Western Conference?
[14:48] Speaker 5: They obviously have zero chance with Kevin going home to
[14:52] Speaker 5: Oklahoma City.
[14:53] Speaker 4: No chance.
[14:54] Speaker 5: Hmm.
[14:56] Speaker 1: Y'all agree? Zero percent chance? What, to beat OKC if
[14:59] Speaker 1: they match up?
[15:01] Speaker 6: I think they have a chance to beat the Lakers, though.
[15:03] Speaker 6: I mean, no, the Lakers have a chance to beat Houston.
[15:06] Speaker 1: With Luka.
[15:08] Speaker 2: They got to be healthy.
[15:10] Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah. No, I'm saying if they're healthy. If they're healthy.
[15:12] Speaker 1: But if not, then, you know. And Houston would need
[15:15] Speaker 1: a lot of help from the Nuggets. They could potentially
[15:17] Speaker 1: jump even to that third spot. I think they'd have
[15:18] Speaker 1: to win all three games and the Nuggets have to
[15:20] Speaker 1: go like one and two.
[15:21] Speaker 4: Who has to win?
[15:22] Speaker 1: The Rockets would have to win out and the Nuggets
[15:24] Speaker 1: have to go one and two. Nuggets do have games
[15:25] Speaker 1: against the Spurs and Thunder.
[15:29] Speaker 4: You know this is the playoffs. So, matchups is the
[15:32] Speaker 4: most important part. There's no way Houston... We'll try to
[15:36] Speaker 4: jump to three. If they have the Lakers, that hurts.
[15:41] Speaker 2: Yeah, 4-5.
[15:43] Speaker 1: 4-5.
[15:44] Speaker 2: You also have the Timberwolves. I'm definitely trying to.
[15:46] Speaker 4: This is a damaged team where two stars is gone.
[15:49] Speaker 6: I'm not trying to see Jokic.
[15:50] Speaker 1: And one is 40.
[15:52] Speaker 4: And the rest of the bench is a G League team.
[15:54] Speaker 6: I understand.
[15:55] Speaker 4: I am not trying to jump to three. I'm going
[15:57] Speaker 4: to say exactly four or five.
[15:59] Speaker 1: To them? To the Wolves dealing with it. Four or five.
[16:02] Speaker 6: Unless them stems come back. Unless them stems on the.
[16:04] Speaker 1: Gs come back.
[16:05] Speaker 4: Yeah, you still got the rest of the, like, Timberwolves
[16:09] Speaker 4: bench squad is better than our whole team.
[16:12] Speaker 1: They got guys who can put the ball in the basket.
[16:15] Speaker 3: Yeah, they got a legitimate six.
[16:17] Speaker 4: Our best player right now that I trust is Luke Kennard.
[16:23] Speaker 3: I'm not even going to lie. Well, outside of LeBron. Yeah,
[16:27] Speaker 3: I mean, outside of LeBron. Because he's going to play. Now,
[16:31] Speaker 3: I figure he'll do it. He's healthy.
[16:32] Speaker 1: He just set out because there was no need for.
[16:35] Speaker 2: Him to play.
[16:36] Speaker 3: Go out and get embarrassed like that? Y'all already got
[16:40] Speaker 3: me the worst loss of my career on the record.
[16:43] Speaker 1: We not finna do this shit twice.
[16:45] Speaker 6: I'm not finna go out there.
[16:46] Speaker 1: Come on, man.
[16:46] Speaker 6: You ain't finna have me out.
[16:47] Speaker 1: Not finna do this shit twice in two weeks. Put
[16:48] Speaker 1: me out there.
[16:49] Speaker 2: Not finna do this. Twice in a week, actually.
[16:51] Speaker 1: Twice in less than a week.
[16:52] Speaker 2: We not finna do this.
[16:54] Speaker 6: On Taco Tuesday.
[16:55] Speaker 1: Come on, man. We ain't finna do that. We ain't
[16:57] Speaker 1: finna do that, dog.
[16:58] Speaker 3: Go drink me some Lobos and have me some tacos, man.
[17:02] Speaker 6: Go play some in my golf simulator.
[17:04] Speaker 4: Even though Kevin Durant averages about 20 shots a game,
[17:07] Speaker 4: the difference is he doesn't have two studs that he
[17:11] Speaker 4: used to have with him.
[17:12] Speaker 1: Where.
[17:13] Speaker 4: You didn't have to double, KD. You couldn't double KD.
[17:16] Speaker 2: You couldn't.
[17:17] Speaker 4: You couldn't, right? Russell James, right, you're talking about. Kyrie James.
[17:22] Speaker 4: Kyrie James. You couldn't get Booker. You couldn't do anything
[17:26] Speaker 4: with him.
[17:27] Speaker 1: Now you have a handicap, and the handicap is the shooting.
[17:30] Speaker 2: Yes, because they have to play the money.
[17:32] Speaker 4: Like even Sangoon, you're not Jokic because you can't shoot
[17:37] Speaker 4: from the outside. We know where you want to go.
[17:40] Speaker 4: You want to do, you want to get in and
[17:41] Speaker 4: try to get, you're going to pump fake.
[17:43] Speaker 6: Don't jump.
[17:44] Speaker 4: Nobody needs to jump. No one needs to go for
[17:46] Speaker 4: the pump fake. You're going to pump fake to try
[17:48] Speaker 4: to go and do all your things to get in. Like,
[17:51] Speaker 4: so you are limited. So when Sangoon's the point guard,
[17:56] Speaker 4: treat him how you would have treated Russell Westbrook, Rondo,
[17:59] Speaker 4: Ben Simmons. If you're going to beat us, you shoot
[18:03] Speaker 4: 10 threes. If you make three, I'll think about guarding you.
[18:07] Speaker 4: If you're not going 50%, I'm not, I'm not going
[18:09] Speaker 4: in there.
[18:10] Speaker 1: Just do you.
[18:11] Speaker 4: And we're just going to sit back. We're not going
[18:13] Speaker 4: to let you do no back. Shoot the three. We
[18:16] Speaker 4: just shoot the three.
[18:19] Speaker 1: Do it.
[18:20] Speaker 4: That's not his game yet. That's the problem with Jokic
[18:23] Speaker 4: and Embiid. That's their beauty. Where they can shoot that
[18:28] Speaker 4: shot at a very high clip. So you are forced
[18:30] Speaker 4: as the big man to go there where they get
[18:33] Speaker 4: the drive and then use that.
[18:34] Speaker 1: Advantage against them.
[18:35] Speaker 4: So that's where he's going to have to improve to
[18:38] Speaker 4: really be an all-around threat.
[18:41] Speaker 1: So what version of Kevin Durant do you guys think
[18:43] Speaker 1: that the Rockets need in the postseason for them to
[18:46] Speaker 1: be successful?
[18:47] Speaker 6: Not him.
[18:48] Speaker 1: It's not really him. It ain't him, man. His 25,
[18:51] Speaker 1: his 27 is what it is.
[18:52] Speaker 8: Because they're going to double him.
[18:55] Speaker 1: His 27 is what it is, man. So what do
[18:58] Speaker 1: you need to get to?
[18:59] Speaker 2: 35?
[18:59] Speaker 6: I mean, maybe.
[19:00] Speaker 2: No, it ain't on him.
[19:02] Speaker 1: But he's playing with a 54-90 right now.
[19:03] Speaker 6: So his 27 is enough.
[19:08] Speaker 2: They just got other people.
[19:10] Speaker 6: I mean, we're going to need some 30s, though.
[19:12] Speaker 2: Of course, he's going to give you that.
[19:13] Speaker 1: He's going to give you that. Anything from 27 to 35,
[19:18] Speaker 1: it's amen.
[19:21] Speaker 4: Amen is going to have to dominate.
[19:24] Speaker 1: It's amen that's going to have to, like, you're.
[19:26] Speaker 4: Going to have to lock down and you're going to
[19:30] Speaker 4: have to be very productive on the offensive end. Or
[19:33] Speaker 4: Jabari Smith, right? One of you two are going to
[19:36] Speaker 4: have to really be Great.
[19:39] Speaker 3: I think it's made for Thompson to, Ava and Thompson
[19:42] Speaker 3: to dominate because of how he, just.
[19:44] Speaker 1: Downhill, man.
[19:45] Speaker 4: Yeah, if he gets downhill.
[19:46] Speaker 3: You're downhill, man, and you're attacking guys, man, game after game.
[19:50] Speaker 3: after game, possession after possession.
[19:54] Speaker 2: No, that's... They get tired.
[19:55] Speaker 1: They don't want that. Like, if you had a jump shot, bro.
[19:58] Speaker 2: Yeah, they don't want that.
[19:58] Speaker 1: Like, think about if he had a jump shot. Yeah,
[20:00] Speaker 1: they don't want to have to guard that, man.
[20:02] Speaker 6: Do you run it back with this team if they
[20:04] Speaker 6: can't get out the second round?
[20:06] Speaker 1: I'm saying Fred, not Fred not being to hurt them, dog. What?
[20:09] Speaker 2: Like, Fred not being there hurt them. But that's the point, too.
[20:13] Speaker 1: Do you give KD some grace with this squad not
[20:15] Speaker 1: going to finish with a better record than they did
[20:17] Speaker 1: last season or not going to finish with a higher
[20:19] Speaker 1: seating than they did last season but didn't have their
[20:21] Speaker 1: point guard all year long but obviously had time to
[20:23] Speaker 1: address that and had some roster issues that kind of
[20:26] Speaker 1: limited their ability to bring another point guard onto the roster.
[20:29] Speaker 2: That's when you got to be creative, man. You got
[20:30] Speaker 2: to do your job. As a GM, as a president,
[20:33] Speaker 2: y'all have to come to the collective mind.
[20:35] Speaker 6: I mean, they had chances to go get another point guard.
[20:38] Speaker 1: Yeah, but they couldn't do it until after December 15th. Cool, cool.
[20:41] Speaker 1: They were holding the fort down. They would have to
[20:43] Speaker 1: make some trades, and I think they just decided to
[20:45] Speaker 1: roll with it. Yeah, they was holding the fort down
[20:46] Speaker 1: until December 15th. Then you should have had a plan
[20:50] Speaker 1: when December 15th hit.
[20:53] Speaker 6: To get something.
[20:54] Speaker 2: We got to get something, right? This is our date.
[20:58] Speaker 3: We know we can't move before that, but we need
[20:59] Speaker 3: a plan in place so when December 15th happened, we
[21:03] Speaker 3: make this move because we see what this could possibly.
[21:07] Speaker 1: Be, right?
[21:08] Speaker 3: First game of the season showed us, right? We was
[21:10] Speaker 3: already talking about how it looked, them not having a
[21:13] Speaker 3: point guard. The very first game of the season, how
[21:15] Speaker 3: it looked.
[21:16] Speaker 1: Double OT. Yeah, double. And it looked like, yeah, you
[21:19] Speaker 1: need somebody to get them guys involved, right? You had
[21:23] Speaker 1: ample time to address that, and you didn't. That falls
[21:26] Speaker 1: on front office.
[21:27] Speaker 3: The guys going out and playing, they're going to try
[21:29] Speaker 3: to do all they can to circumvent not having that.
[21:34] Speaker 3: But still, those guys need to, like, you need somebody
[21:41] Speaker 3: out there like Fred that's been there, that's won, and
[21:44] Speaker 3: they had ample opportunity to go get something. Listen, man,
[21:48] Speaker 3: you could have went and got Kyle Lowry from Philly.
[21:52] Speaker 3: And he could have.
[21:53] Speaker 1: Somebody. Somebody, right? Able-bodied.
[21:58] Speaker 2: He over there just sitting.
[21:59] Speaker 3: He don't need big minutes. He don't need big minutes.
[22:03] Speaker 3: You just need somebody out there when shit get tough.
[22:06] Speaker 3: He know where the ball need to go.
[22:08] Speaker 1: That's all.
[22:09] Speaker 3: I ain't saying you playing 35 a night. But it's
[22:12] Speaker 3: just a name. Somebody that knows how to play the
[22:16] Speaker 3: position that you can depend on.
[22:18] Speaker 2: That's all.
[22:21] Speaker 1: When you look at this current iteration of the Rockets.
[22:23] Speaker 2: Mike Conley, I ought to do what I did to
[22:24] Speaker 2: go get Mike Conley from him.
[22:26] Speaker 1: I don't know.
[22:26] Speaker 2: I ought to do something.
[22:27] Speaker 5: I tweeted the other night during the Final Four Championship game.
[22:32] Speaker 5: If the Rockets had that Elliott Cadeau, who was the
[22:35] Speaker 5: most outstanding player, obviously from Michigan, if they had him
[22:39] Speaker 5: right now, they'd be a tough out. They just don't
[22:44] Speaker 5: have that tough little man to run the show. But
[22:49] Speaker 5: Let me say this about Kevin Durant. I saw some
[22:53] Speaker 5: slippage last year in Phoenix. I saw some aging taking
[22:56] Speaker 5: over and he and I went back and forth on
[22:59] Speaker 5: social media a couple times about that. And I must
[23:02] Speaker 5: say he took it back up a level. He looks
[23:06] Speaker 5: like Kevin Durant to me right now. And I know
[23:08] Speaker 5: he gets in some binds when they don't have somebody
[23:12] Speaker 5: to get him his shots. And some teams can take
[23:15] Speaker 5: him completely out of being able to create a shot.
[23:18] Speaker 5: But Man, last night as he returned to Phoenix with
[23:24] Speaker 5: a chip on his shoulder and a grudge in his heart,
[23:27] Speaker 5: once he got on track, I don't know if you're
[23:29] Speaker 5: going to talk about Dylan Brooks in a second, but
[23:31] Speaker 5: once he got on track, he looked like Kevin bleeping
[23:34] Speaker 5: Durant to me. He's playing at an extremely high level,
[23:38] Speaker 5: and he will have to for them to make any
[23:41] Speaker 5: noise in the next two weeks.
[23:46] Speaker 1: I think we've said it before.
[23:47] Speaker 2: Katie doing his part.
[23:49] Speaker 1: He always can't do that.
[23:50] Speaker 4: And any project he does, I'm.
[23:53] Speaker 1: Not saying everywhere he's going, he get an A.
[23:56] Speaker 3: Everywhere he's going, he get an A. We've been saying
[23:59] Speaker 3: he is probably the only plug-and-play player in the National
[24:05] Speaker 3: Basketball Association that's seen in a long time. There's been
[24:09] Speaker 3: a lot of great players that play in this league.
[24:11] Speaker 3: but systems have been built around them, and they have to,
[24:15] Speaker 3: wherever they go, that system has to change for that person.
[24:18] Speaker 4: That's a good point.
[24:19] Speaker 3: Not for Kevin Durant. Everybody else can still beat them
[24:22] Speaker 3: because of his efficiency.
[24:24] Speaker 1: Right.
[24:24] Speaker 2: 50-90, 50-40-90.
[24:29] Speaker 1: Flirting with it right now, 51% from the field.
[24:33] Speaker 2: Like, that's, come on, man. At this age, still doing
[24:36] Speaker 2: it like that?
[24:37] Speaker 3: Like, it's injuries behind him.
[24:41] Speaker 1: Yeah, 52% from the field, 41% from three, 88% from
[24:44] Speaker 1: the free throw line. Uh-oh.
[24:45] Speaker 6: 26%.
[24:46] Speaker 1: That don't work.
[24:48] Speaker 6: Get to that free throw line.
[24:49] Speaker 2: Can't miss, though. Can't miss.
[24:51] Speaker 1: I know.
[24:51] Speaker 6: He missed those. He missed those.
[24:53] Speaker 1: Can't miss, bro.
[24:54] Speaker 3: You got to run some 15, 20 straight real quick.
[24:59] Speaker 4: They're going to need Shepard to actually hit shots. Because
[25:03] Speaker 4: when you're talking about just the playoffs themselves, we know, okay,
[25:09] Speaker 4: Kevin Durant, okay. He's his own scouting report, right? So
[25:14] Speaker 4: it's like, all right, if we're going to take him out,
[25:15] Speaker 4: what are they going to do?
[25:16] Speaker 1: All right, Sangoon.
[25:20] Speaker 4: If we take him out, who's third? Who's going to
[25:22] Speaker 4: win it for him, right? And I think no one's
[25:25] Speaker 4: going to guard Shepard like that. Unless he's making shots.
[25:29] Speaker 4: Unless he's making shots. And the only way I'm going
[25:32] Speaker 4: to help off of and keep my eyes off of
[25:34] Speaker 4: Kevin Durant or Sangoon is if my man is hitting shots. Yep.
[25:39] Speaker 4: So if he comes out, game one is going to
[25:41] Speaker 4: try to take them to– if Shepard comes.
[25:44] Speaker 1: Out hitting shots off the rip, that changes the series.
[25:49] Speaker 5: But they thought he was a point guard, and he's
[25:51] Speaker 5: just not.
[25:52] Speaker 4: All he is is a shooter. He's a six man.
[25:59] Speaker 1: He is.
[25:59] Speaker 4: He's a guy that can– like a Ben Gordy. So
[26:03] Speaker 4: you got to play him like that. When he's coming in,
[26:05] Speaker 4: you're the microwave guy. We got to come bring you
[26:08] Speaker 4: off screens, let you be that run-around guy. You sitting
[26:11] Speaker 4: there doing pick and rolls, I got to put you,
[26:13] Speaker 4: let you come off screens. Nobody's chasing nobody off screens
[26:15] Speaker 4: these days. They can't even keep up with Kevin Durant.
[26:18] Speaker 4: I mean, Kevin, I mean, Curry, right?
[26:21] Speaker 1: Like, as soon as Curry passes the ball, he understands
[26:24] Speaker 1: what defense does. Go. Takes off. Right?
[26:29] Speaker 4: So, you know, with guarding him and you just sitting
[26:32] Speaker 4: there running off all these down picks and splits and stuff,
[26:35] Speaker 4: that could be your job. You would get so much.
[26:38] Speaker 4: Easy buckets. Just moving without the ball.
[26:41] Speaker 2: They got a willing passer, too, in Sangoon.
[26:44] Speaker 3: Is 20-9 enough for them to, from Sangoon?
[26:49] Speaker 1: 20-9? 20-9?
[26:50] Speaker 6: I was just about to ask you that.
[26:52] Speaker 5: 20-9?
[26:52] Speaker 6: Do you think Sangoon's having a down year.
[26:54] Speaker 2: Than last year?
[26:56] Speaker 1: I feel like the ball.
[26:57] Speaker 6: Was in his hands more last year than last year.
[26:59] Speaker 6: when they needed, like, clutch plays and stuff. Like, even
[27:03] Speaker 6: when they was playing against the Warriors, like, in that
[27:06] Speaker 6: playoff series, I just felt like it was different last year. Like,
[27:09] Speaker 6: this year is more like he's– I mean, he's averaging
[27:11] Speaker 6: more points. He's averaging 20. Last year he averaged 19.
[27:13] Speaker 6: But I just felt like he was a plus. He
[27:15] Speaker 6: was a plus, like, five, and now he's a plus two.
[27:18] Speaker 4: You know, we got a– we got Kevin in the room.
[27:22] Speaker 2: But we were expecting.
[27:23] Speaker 4: We thought we were going to get more.
[27:26] Speaker 2: We sat on the couch like that.
[27:28] Speaker 6: We thought that this was.
[27:29] Speaker 1: They were going to play through him throughout the season.
[27:32] Speaker 1: Rebounds are down, but. Yeah, it's hard to score.
[27:35] Speaker 2: He went up a point.
[27:37] Speaker 4: Yeah, a point.
[27:37] Speaker 6: But then the year before that, he was averaging 21.
[27:39] Speaker 4: Yeah.
[27:40] Speaker 1: But it's hard to be a go-to guy if you
[27:42] Speaker 1: can't shoot the ball.
[27:45] Speaker 2: That's hard.
[27:46] Speaker 1: Like, I mean, how many times you're.
[27:47] Speaker 4: Going to fall for the same pump fake before they realize.
[27:51] Speaker 5: You're talking about shooting threes?
[27:52] Speaker 4: Period.
[27:53] Speaker 5: No, he can shoot.
[27:55] Speaker 4: But he catches the ball. Damn near the hash.
[27:57] Speaker 1: Yeah. He wants to catch it at the hash, then go.
[28:00] Speaker 4: So it's like, it's not like you're catching it at
[28:02] Speaker 4: the free throw line, then going here. You're catching it
[28:04] Speaker 4: at the hash, and you're going to dribble. Then you're
[28:06] Speaker 4: going to play sloppy man basketball, put your body on him.
[28:08] Speaker 1: Spin, spin, and do a flail.
[28:10] Speaker 4: Then you want to flail and do all that stuff.
[28:12] Speaker 1: Just back up.
[28:14] Speaker 5: He plays little to me. They list him at 6'11.
[28:16] Speaker 5: He looks like he's 6'9. He plays... like little big.
[28:20] Speaker 4: Under the basket. It's that under the basket. It's that Z-Bowl,
[28:23] Speaker 4: that Z-Bowl style.
[28:24] Speaker 1: Yeah, it is.
[28:25] Speaker 4: There is like a counter, like a counter puncher, right?
[28:28] Speaker 4: I'm going to go spin. You're going to, I'm going
[28:30] Speaker 4: to feel you here. I'm going to feel you this way.
[28:31] Speaker 4: I'm going to try to cut you off. I'm going to, like,
[28:33] Speaker 4: it's that. Yeah, I'm trying to use whatever it is
[28:35] Speaker 4: you're presenting.
[28:36] Speaker 1: Yeah.
[28:36] Speaker 4: So you can play like him, Jokic, no matter how
[28:39] Speaker 4: rough you play with them, they're countering all of it
[28:42] Speaker 4: with the spins and bumps and this and that.
[28:44] Speaker 6: And like, it's. I think KD took a lot away
[28:47] Speaker 6: from his aggressiveness.
[28:49] Speaker 1: No, he's aggressive.
[28:50] Speaker 6: Yeah, but I'm telling you, like, it looked like he
[28:53] Speaker 6: was ready to take that next. And then he just,
[28:57] Speaker 6: I mean, and it's, yes, Kevin Durant. So, of course,
[29:00] Speaker 6: you're going to defer. But without a point guard, too,
[29:04] Speaker 6: I'm thinking, okay.
[29:06] Speaker 1: He's taking the same amount of shots, though.
[29:08] Speaker 4: But you know what?
[29:09] Speaker 6: More.
[29:09] Speaker 1: I think career high. How many free throws is he taking?
[29:13] Speaker 1: He is shooting Gil... About five free throws a game.
[29:16] Speaker 6: Okay, that's not enough. That's not enough for somebody 6%.
[29:19] Speaker 1: That's not enough for somebody 6%.
[29:20] Speaker 4: Yeah, that's what I'm saying. When you're talking about taking
[29:23] Speaker 4: the next step, right, that means you are going into
[29:26] Speaker 4: the summer looking at a flaw and making that a strength, right?
[29:32] Speaker 4: When Dwayne Wade took the next step, what did he
[29:34] Speaker 4: come back with? The bank shot, right? He came back
[29:37] Speaker 4: that year with his bank. Then the very next year,
[29:40] Speaker 4: he came back with a pump fake, right? So that
[29:42] Speaker 4: means he still has all the drives and the splits
[29:46] Speaker 4: that he had. Then he added a bank shot. Then
[29:48] Speaker 4: he added a pump fake to the bank shot, right?
[29:51] Speaker 4: That's how you elevate your game. So if we're talking
[29:54] Speaker 4: about taking the next step, the next step is Making
[29:58] Speaker 4: sure you can hit the long ball a little bit.
[30:00] Speaker 4: Making sure you can make free throws. Making sure you're
[30:03] Speaker 4: getting fouled because the difference between 20 and 25 is
[30:07] Speaker 4: free throws.
[30:08] Speaker 1: Right?
[30:09] Speaker 4: I don't have to shoot no more extra shots on
[30:12] Speaker 4: my field goal just free throws.
[30:14] Speaker 1: Right? We get in the penalty. Come on down here.
[30:17] Speaker 1: Got you.
[30:18] Speaker 4: Two free throws.
[30:18] Speaker 1: Right?
[30:19] Speaker 4: It's that game that you upgrade. So the fact that
[30:23] Speaker 4: he's a guy who does all this bumping and stuff,
[30:25] Speaker 4: he's only shooting five free throws.
[30:26] Speaker 1: Trey Young shoots more than that.
[30:28] Speaker 4: Brunson shoots more than that. You know what I mean? So, understand,
[30:32] Speaker 4: you're the big man who's driving all the time and
[30:33] Speaker 4: you can only get fouled.
[30:35] Speaker 9: Right.
[30:36] Speaker 5: Would you take him over DeAndre Ayton right now?
[30:38] Speaker 1: Who?
[30:38] Speaker 6: Over who?
[30:39] Speaker 1: Shit, yeah.
[30:40] Speaker 5: Over your guy, Ayton. Would you take Shingun over Ayton?
[30:43] Speaker 1: Yes. Hell yeah.
[30:44] Speaker 5: Like, hell yeah.
[30:47] Speaker 4: That's like a Ferrari and a Honda.
[30:49] Speaker 1: Let's get out of here.
[30:52] Speaker 4: Damn.
[30:52] Speaker 2: I didn't even need my question.
[30:54] Speaker 1: It's a Honda at best. J.J. Reddick said... It's your
[30:59] Speaker 1: first car. I ain't been to a Honda.
[31:04] Speaker 6: His comparison.
[31:05] Speaker 1: How much.
[31:06] Speaker 6: Is the comparison?
[31:06] Speaker 1: Where's Clint Capella?
[31:07] Speaker 4: Where's his comparison at?
[31:10] Speaker 2: Get me Clint.
[31:11] Speaker 1: That ain't a new Kia. You still got the plug-in lighter.
[31:21] Speaker 2: I'm saying for the car charger, you got the plug,
[31:23] Speaker 2: the lighter. Yeah, you got that one. Yeah, that's what
[31:25] Speaker 2: that boy is. I miss those guys.
[31:28] Speaker 1: I haven't seen one of those. Back down memory lane.
[31:35] Speaker 1: We got to go back to a moment in the
[31:36] Speaker 1: game that Had the internet buzzing, so let's take a look.
[31:41] Speaker 1: Like I mentioned, things were chippy all game, including the
[31:43] Speaker 1: second quarter when Kevin Durant and Dylan Brooks were jawing
[31:46] Speaker 1: at each other. So after Brooks fouled, KD got up.
[31:49] Speaker 1: They started talking. Reckless. Amidst the trash talk, KD appeared
[31:53] Speaker 1: to tell Brooks, my worst season is better than your best.
[31:55] Speaker 1: Right there. Then on the very next play, that's mean-spirited.
[32:02] Speaker 1: KD said Brooks stumbling, hit a jumper over Mark Williams.
[32:07] Speaker 1: Hey now. Oh shit. My work season is better than
[32:13] Speaker 1: your best. Get your bum ass up. I'm sure he did.
[32:19] Speaker 1: They kept talking as he went back down the court.
[32:21] Speaker 1: So Durant was asked about that moment in Brooks' continued
[32:24] Speaker 1: attempts to try and poke bears and had this response.
[32:27] Speaker 1: Not at all.
[32:28] Speaker 4: I'm not giving him that.
[32:29] Speaker 2: He don't get that type of credit with me.
[32:30] Speaker 10: Maybe some other guys that may turn up because he
[32:34] Speaker 10: talked to him, but he's not that important.
[32:36] Speaker 2: Or special to me to get me going, you know
[32:38] Speaker 2: what I'm saying? I wake up going, getting ready to play,
[32:41] Speaker 2: you know what I'm saying?
[32:41] Speaker 10: But I respect Dylan. I respect what he brings to
[32:43] Speaker 10: the game. Like I said earlier, I think that gets
[32:47] Speaker 10: him going more than me, you know what I'm saying?
[32:50] Speaker 10: I just happened to get that ball right afterwards and
[32:52] Speaker 10: make a good move, but it wasn't in spite of Dylan.
[32:55] Speaker 2: I wanted to show him up.
[32:57] Speaker 10: He's not that much of a concern to me, but
[32:59] Speaker 10: I respect how he approaches the.
[33:00] Speaker 1: Game and what he does.
[33:02] Speaker 10: That's valuable to him, and that brings him you know,
[33:04] Speaker 10: makes him a better player.
[33:05] Speaker 2: But me, it has nothing to do with my game.
[33:10] Speaker 4: That was worse than my worst year is your best year.
[33:13] Speaker 1: That was worse.
[33:14] Speaker 6: That was some good trash talk.
[33:16] Speaker 1: Huh?
[33:16] Speaker 6: Some good trash talk.
[33:17] Speaker 1: At the end?
[33:18] Speaker 6: Everything.
[33:19] Speaker 4: No, not at the end.
[33:20] Speaker 1: That hurts.
[33:21] Speaker 6: Some good trash talk.
[33:22] Speaker 4: You talking to me gets you hyped. They don't do
[33:24] Speaker 4: nothing to me.
[33:24] Speaker 1: I don't know you. It's some good trash talk. I
[33:29] Speaker 1: like it. I like it.
[33:31] Speaker 6: It's the perfect time. Playoffs is right around the corner.
[33:33] Speaker 6: Let's go.
[33:35] Speaker 1: Because that is the actual truth.
[33:38] Speaker 4: He's getting himself hyped to stop you. Like, yeah, yeah,
[33:41] Speaker 4: this is what we're doing. And it fuels that type
[33:45] Speaker 4: of guy. So for him to say it in reality, yeah,
[33:48] Speaker 4: that gets him going. That don't do nothing to me.
[33:50] Speaker 1: He just.
[33:50] Speaker 2: Just a guy.
[33:51] Speaker 1: Just a guy. Just a guy.
[33:52] Speaker 4: Just a guy on the team.
[33:54] Speaker 1: Skip, I saw you laughing during KD's commentary. Yeah.
[33:59] Speaker 5: Look, that was a classic case of why Dylan Brooks
[34:05] Speaker 5: is more trouble than he's worth. That there was why
[34:09] Speaker 5: he's no longer in Memphis and no longer in Houston
[34:12] Speaker 5: and probably next year he'll be somewhere else. So think
[34:16] Speaker 5: about this. Dylan Brooks' team, the home team, had just
[34:22] Speaker 5: gone on a 24-0 run. They were up 26-5 because
[34:28] Speaker 5: Kevin Durant was trying too hard. He was pressing because
[34:32] Speaker 5: he said earlier this year, for the first time in
[34:34] Speaker 5: his career, he got, to use his words, kicked out
[34:38] Speaker 5: by a team. He It stuck with him, and it
[34:46] Speaker 5: stuck in his craw, and it hurt him, and he
[34:49] Speaker 5: wanted to show them. He wanted to punish the home
[34:52] Speaker 5: crowd last night in his first game back in Phoenix,
[34:58] Speaker 5: and he starts one for six. So you've got him
[35:00] Speaker 5: right where you want him until Dylan Brooks starts poking
[35:05] Speaker 5: the bear. Well, that's the one bear you just can't poke.
[35:08] Speaker 5: Just let him stew, let him fret, let him keep
[35:12] Speaker 5: trying too hard, let him press on his jumper. and
[35:15] Speaker 5: go one for 12. Just leave him alone. And the
[35:19] Speaker 5: game flipped on what you just saw. And he pushed
[35:26] Speaker 5: the wrong button in the wrong guy at the wrong time.
[35:30] Speaker 5: And all of a sudden, the game just flips on
[35:32] Speaker 5: his head, on its head. It just goes crazy from
[35:34] Speaker 5: that point on. And Kevin just took it out and
[35:38] Speaker 5: took it out and took it out on Dylan Brooks.
[35:40] Speaker 5: And I love him just dismissing him like, I don't
[35:43] Speaker 5: even care who he is. Like he's talking about him
[35:45] Speaker 5: like he doesn't really know who he is. That's fine.
[35:48] Speaker 5: And that's what I think of Dylan Brooks is he's
[35:52] Speaker 5: a pretty good player, but he's only a pretty good
[35:54] Speaker 5: player who's always having to instigate as part of his repertoire,
[35:59] Speaker 5: but you have to read the room and pick your spots.
[36:02] Speaker 5: And he picked the wrong spot because I thought Phoenix
[36:05] Speaker 5: had him right where, I thought Phoenix was going to
[36:07] Speaker 5: win the basketball game and From that point on, they
[36:11] Speaker 5: lost in the fourth quarter 38-21 because Kevin Durant was
[36:16] Speaker 5: by far the best player on the floor because he's him.
[36:20] Speaker 5: He's it. He's he. And he was so infuriated that
[36:26] Speaker 5: that guy would dare to try to get in my head,
[36:30] Speaker 5: get under my skin just because I got off to
[36:32] Speaker 5: a bad start. And that was the end of that
[36:35] Speaker 5: game at that flashpoint moment. So congratulations, Dylan. You lost
[36:40] Speaker 5: the game for your team at home.
[36:43] Speaker 1: So you're talking about Dylan the villain, though. I understand
[36:46] Speaker 1: what you're saying, but in Memphis, successful. Obviously, scapegoated him
[36:51] Speaker 1: after that series. Got smacked by the Lakers, which is
[36:54] Speaker 1: going to happen anyway.
[36:54] Speaker 5: He even pushed LeBron's button at all the wrong times.
[36:59] Speaker 1: But goes to the Rockets, a part of that turnaround
[37:00] Speaker 1: over there with Ema Adoka, helps build the culture over there.
[37:03] Speaker 1: Goes to the Sun Squad, having a career year right now,
[37:05] Speaker 1: putting up 20 points per game. But it seems like
[37:07] Speaker 1: you've got to take the good with the bad with
[37:09] Speaker 1: Dylan Brooks. Because nobody would expect the Suns to be
[37:12] Speaker 1: seventh right now.
[37:13] Speaker 5: No, but that was a classic case of why you
[37:17] Speaker 5: can't trust him when you need him the most. Because
[37:20] Speaker 5: he doesn't know when to turn off Dylan the villain.
[37:22] Speaker 5: That's what happened last night. You've got to turn it off.
[37:25] Speaker 5: You've got to pick your spot. Pick the wrong spot.
[37:27] Speaker 5: That's just me. Is that all you've got to stay
[37:30] Speaker 5: in the league is being Dylan the villain?
[37:33] Speaker 2: Okay. That would be really good. You can continue to
[37:39] Speaker 2: be that. You just got to be really good.
[37:40] Speaker 3: What, the trash talker? No, just the villain part. Just
[37:43] Speaker 3: the antagonist part, right? You got to go out and
[37:49] Speaker 3: you got to do what Dennis Rodman was doing.
[37:51] Speaker 2: Shit like that, right?
[37:52] Speaker 3: You got to be out there putting up.
[37:55] Speaker 6: He's averaging 20. Okay.
[37:56] Speaker 1: He's playing well.
[37:58] Speaker 2: I ain't saying he's not. He's playing well, but you
[38:00] Speaker 2: got to.
[38:02] Speaker 6: I mean, I'm just saying, this is his best year.
[38:04] Speaker 1: It is.
[38:05] Speaker 6: I mean, I know this– I love it.
[38:07] Speaker 1: I love it. I mean, and Memphis– There was a
[38:09] Speaker 1: point we were talking about him in the All-Star discussion.
[38:11] Speaker 6: I'm just saying, you know, earlier this season. I feel
[38:13] Speaker 6: Memphis went down when they let him go. I mean,
[38:15] Speaker 6: that's just me personally. I mean, I just think they
[38:17] Speaker 6: lost that firepower. I feel like that's just where it
[38:20] Speaker 6: started going downhill for them. I think they needed that
[38:22] Speaker 6: with Ja and that.
[38:24] Speaker 3: Everybody needs that.
[38:26] Speaker 6: But to skip a point, yes, he does a little
[38:28] Speaker 6: bit too much. But, I mean– I mean, like we said,
[38:31] Speaker 6: we didn't know the Phoenix was going to be here
[38:32] Speaker 6: at seventh. I mean, dude's averaging 20. Dude went from
[38:35] Speaker 6: last year to having his best year this year. You know,
[38:38] Speaker 6: he's feeling himself. He gets criticized a lot for a
[38:40] Speaker 6: lot of things. But he still goes out there and
[38:42] Speaker 6: does his thing. So it's kind of, you know, you
[38:45] Speaker 6: do got to be careful who you are poking. I mean,
[38:47] Speaker 6: Kevin Durant, like if I'm meeting up with Kevin Durant
[38:50] Speaker 6: in the playoffs, I'm not, you know, got to calm
[38:52] Speaker 6: it down just a little bit.
[38:53] Speaker 1: But.
[38:54] Speaker 2: But he's not.
[38:55] Speaker 6: I can't. It's just hard because he's cooking, too, though.
[38:59] Speaker 6: At the same time. He's 20.
[39:01] Speaker 4: But he's not.
[39:02] Speaker 6: He's cooking, but he's not.
[39:04] Speaker 2: He's playing well. For Dylan Brooks, he's cooking.
[39:06] Speaker 1: No, no, no.
[39:06] Speaker 6: For him, for what he's cooking.
[39:08] Speaker 4: He's cooking for Dylan Brooks.
[39:10] Speaker 2: He's having a career year, right? He's having a career year, right?
[39:12] Speaker 4: Yes.
[39:15] Speaker 2: For a defender, right?
[39:18] Speaker 3: Just take last night with the Kevin Durant thing, right?
[39:22] Speaker 3: you already have this thing with you, right? You're known
[39:26] Speaker 3: for fucking with people. KD get off to a slow start.
[39:31] Speaker 3: We think it's because of us, right?
[39:34] Speaker 1: Right?
[39:35] Speaker 3: We think, hey, we think it's like, shit, I'm locking
[39:38] Speaker 3: KD's shit down right now, right?
[39:40] Speaker 1: Shit, I got that shit. You ain't getting that off
[39:41] Speaker 1: right now.
[39:41] Speaker 2: You walk up to him, say something, shit, got that
[39:44] Speaker 2: shit right now.
[39:44] Speaker 1: No.
[39:45] Speaker 4: No.
[39:48] Speaker 3: Like, with people like that, there's no defense that you can,
[39:53] Speaker 3: just missing, right? So, we get this inflated thing with us,
[39:58] Speaker 3: and we already shit-talking, and we already built on this,
[40:03] Speaker 3: and it just brings it out even more, and we
[40:06] Speaker 3: don't know where to put it at times, right? We
[40:09] Speaker 3: just don't know where to, right? I'm out there fucking
[40:13] Speaker 3: with Kobe for what?
[40:15] Speaker 1: Right? For what? You did that? Yeah.
[40:18] Speaker 2: Like, because I.
[40:19] Speaker 3: The only thing I got to come back with, he said,
[40:21] Speaker 3: you know what I'm about out here.
[40:22] Speaker 2: The only thing I can come back with is, and you.
[40:25] Speaker 1: Know what I'm about out here.
[40:26] Speaker 4: Right?
[40:27] Speaker 1: You keep scoring, we're going to fight.
[40:28] Speaker 4: You keep scoring.
[40:29] Speaker 5: Right?
[40:32] Speaker 3: That's all I had, right? You're out there going through it, right?
[40:35] Speaker 3: But it's that, right? You fuck with the wrong people.
[40:38] Speaker 3: That's just who we are at times, right? We think
[40:41] Speaker 3: we didn't got a couple stops and we think we
[40:43] Speaker 3: playing better defense than we are at times.
[40:44] Speaker 2: We could be playing great defense.
[40:46] Speaker 3: Either they scoring or they making it or you can
[40:48] Speaker 3: play the best defense in the world and they miss.
[40:51] Speaker 3: And they make it. So it's not us. But we don't,
[40:54] Speaker 3: like I said, he don't know where to put it
[40:56] Speaker 3: at times, right?
[40:58] Speaker 4: And I think that's the difference is he doesn't realize
[41:05] Speaker 4: he has a double-edged sword with him now, being in Phoenix. See,
[41:10] Speaker 4: you used to get hype stopping players, right? You're only
[41:15] Speaker 4: targeting superstars, right? It's like you are going out for
[41:20] Speaker 4: the big whale. Everybody over here fishing.
[41:21] Speaker 1: You're like LeBron, KD, Curry.
[41:25] Speaker 4: Yeah, if I can get somebody to win me, I'm
[41:27] Speaker 4: going to get somebody to win me. I want that shade.
[41:30] Speaker 4: I'm not wasting my talent over here. I want the
[41:33] Speaker 4: big stuff. Now the difference is you have something to lose. See,
[41:40] Speaker 4: they're going to keep shooting.
[41:42] Speaker 1: They don't care about you.
[41:45] Speaker 4: So, what happens when you miss shots too?
[41:49] Speaker 1: See, before, because you didn't.
[41:50] Speaker 4: See, Dennis Rodman, he don't care about missing. That is
[41:54] Speaker 4: not part of his, like, I just get to defend,
[41:57] Speaker 4: smack you on the ass, wrestle you, tackle you. I
[41:59] Speaker 4: don't have to worry about offense. Well, Dylan averages 20 now.
[42:03] Speaker 4: You go over three, over four, you don't even want
[42:06] Speaker 4: to talk trash no more because now you got to
[42:08] Speaker 4: focus again. You got to get back. Like, you done
[42:11] Speaker 4: talked yourself out of your own game.
[42:13] Speaker 5: Yeah.
[42:14] Speaker 4: To the point it's like, yo, how about this? Do
[42:16] Speaker 4: what we do as offensive players. Just wait till you
[42:19] Speaker 4: hit a bucket and start talking trash.
[42:20] Speaker 1: You can't guard me.
[42:22] Speaker 4: Like, you need to change the narrative for yourself and
[42:25] Speaker 4: be more of an offensive-minded thinker because trying to stop
[42:29] Speaker 4: someone who's going to shoot all the time and you
[42:31] Speaker 4: trying to keep up your 20-point average, you can dial
[42:35] Speaker 4: yourself down on accident.
[42:39] Speaker 1: Like, where did he go last night? Three for 12.
[42:41] Speaker 1: He's one for seven for the three. Yeah, you do it.
[42:44] Speaker 1: You talk to yourself.
[42:48] Speaker 6: Should he go talk to, like, Ron Artes? Somebody like that?
[42:51] Speaker 2: Say it again?
[42:52] Speaker 6: Like, Ron Artes. I mean, I'm looking at Ron Artes' stats.
[42:56] Speaker 6: I mean, he was averaging 20, 18, but he was
[42:58] Speaker 6: still a... He was wild and getting guys. But he
[43:01] Speaker 6: still had a... But I'm saying, like, from the aspect
[43:04] Speaker 6: of understanding when to be that and.
[43:07] Speaker 1: Nah, okay.
[43:08] Speaker 4: Ron Artes was.
[43:09] Speaker 6: He.
[43:10] Speaker 4: He was different because he didn't really talk.
[43:13] Speaker 2: You didn't talk.
[43:14] Speaker 4: He didn't talk. No, talk, but he was still known
[43:16] Speaker 4: as a... You don't see none of his emotions, so
[43:21] Speaker 4: you don't know what's going on over there. You just
[43:23] Speaker 4: feel it. Feel the heart, his elbows.
[43:26] Speaker 6: You don't know if.
[43:26] Speaker 4: He's frustrated or not. It's more of a Gary Payton. Remember,
[43:31] Speaker 4: Gary Payton came in as only a defender. That's where
[43:35] Speaker 4: he started. Then he got his offense together, but he.
[43:39] Speaker 1: Was a guy.
[43:40] Speaker 4: who talked trash the whole game and still had to
[43:45] Speaker 4: put points on. You're talking about I got to guard Jordan,
[43:49] Speaker 4: stop Jordan, and put points in because I'm one of
[43:52] Speaker 4: the scorers on this team. So those are the type
[43:55] Speaker 4: of guys he has to talk to and ask questions.
[43:58] Speaker 4: Once you get to this level, how do you keep
[44:01] Speaker 4: your offense into it?
[44:03] Speaker 3: You got to be able to do it, man.
[44:07] Speaker 1: I like that.
[44:08] Speaker 3: Like, you got to be able to talk and play, right?
[44:11] Speaker 3: You can't, like, that's the beauty about it, right? You
[44:14] Speaker 3: got to be able to do it. Like, KD, like,
[44:16] Speaker 3: he can do it. It don't, like, don't bother him, right? Whoever, like,
[44:20] Speaker 3: when he was out there talking, the Denver game, was
[44:22] Speaker 3: it Bruce Brown?
[44:23] Speaker 1: Yep.
[44:24] Speaker 3: It doesn't phase him, right? Because we out here to hoop.
[44:28] Speaker 3: I'm going to talk shit and bust your ass simultaneously.
[44:33] Speaker 3: That has to be your mentality, right? You can't let
[44:35] Speaker 3: your psyche it. get the best of you when you're
[44:38] Speaker 3: not contributing and helping your team. GP did it well,
[44:43] Speaker 3: other guys, Michael Jordan did it well, Kobe did it well.
[44:45] Speaker 3: You say something to him, you know what it was, right?
[44:47] Speaker 3: I'm going to bust your ass. while talking shit to you.
[44:51] Speaker 1: And I'm going to stop you. And I'm going to
[44:54] Speaker 1: come guard you.
[44:56] Speaker 3: And I'm going to come guard you. It ain't like
[44:58] Speaker 3: we're going to be on opposite sides of the court. No,
[45:01] Speaker 3: I'm going to come stand next to you. You're going
[45:04] Speaker 3: to guard me and I'm damn sure going to make
[45:06] Speaker 3: sure I'm going to guard you.
[45:08] Speaker 1: It wasn't a matchup to start the game, but you started.
[45:10] Speaker 3: Running your mouth. Now I want this action. Now I'm
[45:13] Speaker 3: going to turn your water off.
[45:16] Speaker 5: So Gil, remember the playoff series a few years back, Lakers-Memphis.
[45:21] Speaker 5: When Ja was at his superstar best, I thought Memphis
[45:24] Speaker 5: was a little better than your Lakers. And what did
[45:27] Speaker 5: Dylan the villain do? He started going after LeBron to
[45:31] Speaker 5: the point he was even going after him in the
[45:34] Speaker 5: Lakers huddle before tip-off. He's going over there and antagonizing,
[45:39] Speaker 5: and to the media, he's calling him an old man.
[45:42] Speaker 5: Remember this? You just can't. There's a line you can't cross.
[45:48] Speaker 5: even though LeBron might be a little more susceptible to
[45:51] Speaker 5: that than KD is, but if you cross that line,
[45:55] Speaker 5: the best LeBron I've ever seen is angry LeBron, and
[45:58] Speaker 5: it doesn't happen very often, but when somebody courtside gets
[46:03] Speaker 5: under his skin, says something, we've seen it happen in
[46:06] Speaker 5: LeBron's past, where somebody heckled him, got under his skin,
[46:10] Speaker 5: and he just goes crazy. I wish we'd see more
[46:13] Speaker 5: of of that guy when he just plays flat-out angry.
[46:17] Speaker 5: And Dylan, the villain, sent LeBron over the angry edge.
[46:21] Speaker 5: And it was spectacular to watch. And after that series,
[46:26] Speaker 5: the Memphis GM made it clear publicly, I have seen
[46:29] Speaker 5: enough of Dylan Brooks. That they basically scapegoated him for
[46:34] Speaker 5: the whole series because he deserved it.
[46:37] Speaker 2: But do you need.
[46:42] Speaker 3: When the rest of your team is quote-unquote finesse players,
[46:48] Speaker 3: do you need a Dylan Brooks?
[46:50] Speaker 6: But is he physical?
[46:52] Speaker 5: Is he you?
[46:53] Speaker 1: In this NBA, yes. In the way the game is
[46:59] Speaker 1: played now, I would say yes.
[47:03] Speaker 2: In order to be successful.
[47:06] Speaker 2: You need a few assholes over there.
[47:08] Speaker 5: Okay, he is that. He's a designated asshole.
[47:11] Speaker 2: Yeah, you need somebody that's not going to deviate from it.
[47:14] Speaker 1: Oh, I got that. But I think if.
[47:18] Speaker 5: But is he a bad MF? No. Is he somebody
[47:22] Speaker 5: you're afraid of physically?
[47:24] Speaker 1: No, no, no, not that.
[47:26] Speaker 6: He's somebody that's annoying.
[47:27] Speaker 1: He's annoying. He's annoying.
[47:29] Speaker 6: He's just like, here we go.
[47:31] Speaker 3: I think you need somebody when shit gets going. If
[47:34] Speaker 3: the game is going a certain way... In order to
[47:37] Speaker 3: get us going, we need somebody to come in there
[47:39] Speaker 3: and mix it up and for us to have to
[47:41] Speaker 3: rally together and all that.
[47:42] Speaker 1: We need that at times. There's a time and place
[47:45] Speaker 1: for it. Of course, we don't need it.
[47:48] Speaker 5: But Dennis Rodman, I covered Dennis Rodman in Chicago. He
[47:53] Speaker 5: was as fierce a below-the-rim rebounder as ever stepped on
[47:58] Speaker 5: an NBA floor. So he's backing it up. He's a
[48:02] Speaker 5: bad MF. You can't deal with him. They couldn't keep
[48:06] Speaker 5: him off the glass. And he was very physical and
[48:12] Speaker 5: scary physical. And I don't see that from Dylan Brooks.
[48:17] Speaker 5: He's a good defender. Is he a great defender?
[48:20] Speaker 1: No.
[48:20] Speaker 5: Is he an overpowering physical defender?
[48:26] Speaker 1: No.
[48:26] Speaker 6: Has Dylan Brooks played with any superstars yet? Like Dennis Robbins?
[48:29] Speaker 1: Jaw.
[48:31] Speaker 5: Jaw at his best.
[48:32] Speaker 1: No?
[48:33] Speaker 6: So if Dylan Brooks played with LeBron.
[48:35] Speaker 4: No, I mean like you're talking about a young guy
[48:38] Speaker 4: trying to figure out what he is.
[48:41] Speaker 1: Right?
[48:41] Speaker 4: So the only superstar he really played with that been
[48:43] Speaker 4: to the level would have been Derrick Rose when Derrick
[48:46] Speaker 4: Rose got there. I don't know. I think Derrick left
[48:48] Speaker 4: or he left when Derrick Rose was there. But that
[48:50] Speaker 4: would have been the only superstar.
[48:53] Speaker 1: Right.
[48:53] Speaker 6: But don't you think his control would be different if
[48:55] Speaker 6: he played with a guy like KD, if he played
[48:57] Speaker 6: with a guy like Steph Curry, if he played with
[48:59] Speaker 6: a guy like LeBron, like.
[49:00] Speaker 1: Dennis Rodman, right?
[49:01] Speaker 6: I'm playing with Michael Jordan. So I know my level of, like,
[49:05] Speaker 6: you know.
[49:05] Speaker 1: He's playing with Booker. Huh? He's playing with Booker.
[49:08] Speaker 6: Booker's on the same level as, like, Michael, I mean,
[49:12] Speaker 6: as LeBron James.
[49:13] Speaker 4: I mean, there's only, like, four of them that's, you know.
[49:15] Speaker 2: I don't think he.
[49:16] Speaker 6: I know, but what I'm saying, like, what I'm saying,
[49:18] Speaker 6: Dennis Rodman, he played with the bad boys, with Isaiah Thomas. Like,
[49:21] Speaker 6: he's playing with these superstar guys to where he has
[49:24] Speaker 6: to have a level headed. Like, you're not going to be... Like,
[49:27] Speaker 6: you're not going to come in here and just act
[49:28] Speaker 6: like you.
[49:29] Speaker 1: But he did.
[49:30] Speaker 4: Who?
[49:30] Speaker 1: Dennis Rodman did whatever he wanted to do. He didn't
[49:32] Speaker 1: do that with the Bulls. Yes, he did.
[49:33] Speaker 2: He went to Vegas on the line.
[49:34] Speaker 1: He went to Vegas on the line.
[49:36] Speaker 6: Right, that's fine. But at the end of the day,
[49:38] Speaker 6: you still know what time it is, though.
[49:41] Speaker 1: No.
[49:41] Speaker 6: At the end of the day.
[49:41] Speaker 1: No, no, no. Okay, so why did he come back
[49:43] Speaker 1: and win?
[49:44] Speaker 4: The thing with Dennis Rodman is, I am your Michael Jordan.
[49:47] Speaker 4: You're gifted at putting that ball in the basket and defense.
[49:51] Speaker 1: Okay.
[49:52] Speaker 4: I'm great also. at rebounding and stopping people also. So
[49:59] Speaker 4: we're both the elites at what we do.
[50:03] Speaker 1: Right?
[50:04] Speaker 4: I don't say nothing to you. You're not going to
[50:06] Speaker 4: say nothing to me because when I get out there, yeah,
[50:08] Speaker 4: I partied all night. I just got in. But I'm
[50:11] Speaker 4: going to have 18 rebounds. I'm going to stop my man.
[50:13] Speaker 4: I'm going to do that. So you don't need to
[50:15] Speaker 4: tell Dennis Rodman nothing because Dennis Rodman is going to
[50:18] Speaker 4: show up with what he does. Dylan Brooks is not
[50:21] Speaker 4: that type of guy. defensive player.
[50:24] Speaker 1: Because he doesn't have.
[50:25] Speaker 4: Like, if Wendy was talking trash, he can back it up.
[50:27] Speaker 6: Because he's not playing with those type of players. So
[50:30] Speaker 6: the level of what it... Like, I'm playing with the Bulls, bro.
[50:34] Speaker 1: I'm on.
[50:35] Speaker 6: Like, this is the top of the top of the level.
[50:37] Speaker 6: I'm playing with Detroit Pistons. This is the top of
[50:39] Speaker 6: the top of the level. Of course, I'm going to
[50:41] Speaker 6: do my thing, but I'm definitely going to come here
[50:43] Speaker 6: and do my job because of who I'm playing with.
[50:45] Speaker 6: I'm playing with Michael Jordan. So, of course, I'm not
[50:47] Speaker 6: going to overdo it. Yes, I am great, but I
[50:49] Speaker 6: also know, listen, I better do this. Dylan Brooks don't
[50:52] Speaker 6: have that because he's not playing with a superstar like that.
[50:55] Speaker 6: He's not playing with a LeBron James and a Luka.
[50:57] Speaker 6: If he was on the Lakers right now, Dylan Brooks ain't.
[50:59] Speaker 1: Doing all that.
[51:00] Speaker 2: Yes, he is.
[51:00] Speaker 4: No, he's not.
[51:01] Speaker 6: No, he's not.
[51:02] Speaker 1: No, he's not.
[51:02] Speaker 4: He's not, but he's not.
[51:04] Speaker 1: No, he's not. You're playing with a superstar.
[51:06] Speaker 6: It's too much on the line. Dennis Rodman is a superstar.
[51:09] Speaker 6: But it's a lot on the line, though, too.
[51:10] Speaker 1: Yeah.
[51:11] Speaker 6: See, if he's playing with the Lakers, it's a lot
[51:13] Speaker 6: on the line.
[51:15] Speaker 4: I don't think you know Dennis Rodman.
[51:16] Speaker 2: Let me ask you a question.
[51:17] Speaker 4: He partied every night. It's still a lot on the line.
[51:19] Speaker 1: He came from the club to the game. It's a
[51:21] Speaker 1: lot on the line. A lot on the line.
[51:23] Speaker 4: I'm coming from the club to the game. I didn't
[51:25] Speaker 4: care what Michael Jordan was saying. I didn't care what
[51:28] Speaker 4: Phil Jackson was saying.
[51:28] Speaker 1: But that was his routine.
[51:29] Speaker 4: I'm coming from the club to the game because I
[51:35] Speaker 4: do what I do. I'm a defensive. I won defense
[51:39] Speaker 4: player of the year. coming off the bench. I'm one
[51:42] Speaker 4: of only two people in the history that was a
[51:46] Speaker 4: bench player that when I got in, I shut shit down, right?
[51:50] Speaker 4: So that's what he was, right? The headache part, they're like, okay,
[51:54] Speaker 4: he's a headache.
[51:57] Speaker 1: We'll take it.
[51:57] Speaker 2: We'll take it.
[51:58] Speaker 4: We'll take our chances with it because no matter what
[52:00] Speaker 4: he does, we know what he's going to bring.
[52:03] Speaker 2: Dylan's not that guy.
[52:05] Speaker 1: He's made a.
[52:06] Speaker 4: Name for just targeting these guys, right? That's where we
[52:09] Speaker 4: know him from. We don't know him from the production
[52:12] Speaker 4: of Shutting Shit Down, right?
[52:14] Speaker 1: That's Draymond Green.
[52:15] Speaker 4: You know what I mean? That's that type of guy.
[52:17] Speaker 4: Trash talk and do whatever he wanted to because he
[52:19] Speaker 4: has the awards that's going to come with it. But
[52:26] Speaker 4: did he learn anything, though?
[52:27] Speaker 1: Who? Draymond. He got kicked out of a fucking finals game.
[52:32] Speaker 1: He got suspended for a finals game.
[52:34] Speaker 4: Yeah, but we got four.
[52:35] Speaker 6: But we got four, though.
[52:35] Speaker 1: He got four.
[52:36] Speaker 3: But the point I'm making is, guys like, they need that.
[52:47] Speaker 3: If Dylan Brooks wasn't that, he wouldn't be in the NBA.
[52:51] Speaker 3: If Draymond wasn't that, he wouldn't be in the NBA
[52:54] Speaker 3: because they're good basketball players, but there are other people
[52:58] Speaker 3: that could fill that role as well.
[53:02] Speaker 2: They have to be that.
[53:06] Speaker 3: You said if Dylan Brooks played for the Lakers, would
[53:10] Speaker 3: he be doing all that? I said yes because if
[53:14] Speaker 3: Dylan Brooks is not doing that, Dylan Brooks is not
[53:17] Speaker 3: in the NBA.
[53:18] Speaker 6: No, I'm talking about all the other stuff that Skip
[53:19] Speaker 6: is saying, like all the time and place. It's like, yo,
[53:23] Speaker 6: LeBron is out there. Hey, man, you know what time
[53:24] Speaker 6: it is. Hey, we ain't doing that. Knock that shit out.
[53:27] Speaker 6: It's going to hit different.
[53:29] Speaker 2: So you don't think Steph and Katie said that shit
[53:32] Speaker 2: to Draymond?
[53:33] Speaker 1: Yeah.
[53:33] Speaker 5: And what happened?
[53:34] Speaker 6: And they won two rings. But they won two rings.
[53:37] Speaker 2: And he got kicked. So, if he don't get suspended
[53:40] Speaker 2: for game five.
[53:41] Speaker 1: That was before. You're talking about before KDK. So, here
[53:43] Speaker 1: you go.
[53:44] Speaker 6: It is different, though.
[53:47] Speaker 1: But you sound like a hater, Joe.
[53:50] Speaker 4: With LeBron or a superstar, technically, Dylan Brooks takes the
[53:54] Speaker 4: pressure off of them.
[53:56] Speaker 5: Right?
[53:57] Speaker 4: Because he's going to guard the best player. He's going
[53:58] Speaker 4: to do all that. So, it kind of takes the
[54:00] Speaker 4: pressure off of them in that sense. But One thing
[54:03] Speaker 4: that these super defenders, especially at the guard position. Super defenders.
[54:10] Speaker 4: Super defenders. The trash-talking defenders, right? It's the trash-talking ones.
[54:15] Speaker 4: One thing that they haven't calculated, and they will never calculate,
[54:21] Speaker 4: there's nothing you're going to say that's going to get
[54:25] Speaker 4: under a superstar's skin. Remember, a superstar... has been a
[54:31] Speaker 4: superstar since he was little. He done heard everything under
[54:36] Speaker 4: the sun from his own teammates wanting him to pass
[54:38] Speaker 4: the ball, from overrated all through high school, from collar.
[54:42] Speaker 4: He's done heard it all from every arena he's done
[54:45] Speaker 4: went through. Trash talking is what he knows. He's the
[54:48] Speaker 4: only one that's coming to an arena where the whole
[54:51] Speaker 4: crowd is booing him, and he's out there busting ass.
[54:53] Speaker 4: So trash talking him makes him go harder. So you
[54:57] Speaker 4: come in the game, and he's just chilling, passing the
[54:59] Speaker 4: ball around. We're just over here in Memphis, and now
[55:02] Speaker 4: you want to get it cracking.
[55:04] Speaker 1: You know what? I needed this. I was going to
[55:07] Speaker 1: take the day off.
[55:08] Speaker 2: Let's go.
[55:10] Speaker 6: Let's go.
[55:10] Speaker 4: And that's what ends up happening. Like, we've mentally, like,
[55:14] Speaker 4: we already know. All right, I'm playing against KD. LeBron
[55:17] Speaker 4: and KD, we know y'all going to show up. Curry,
[55:19] Speaker 4: whoever his match is, going to show up. It beating
[55:22] Speaker 4: when we go play Utah, Memphis, Blazers, right?
[55:29] Speaker 1: Those things. Wizards, right?
[55:31] Speaker 4: Right. It's like, oh, man, all right, we just. And
[55:34] Speaker 4: somebody start getting the yapping. Somebody get the yapping, start
[55:38] Speaker 4: talking trash, and that's how you get them numbers put
[55:40] Speaker 4: on you.
[55:41] Speaker 2: Yeah, that happened.
[55:42] Speaker 3: Yeah, we was playing the Bobcats, the Knicks. What's the boy, Henderson?
[55:50] Speaker 3: Played for the Bobcats, got the run in his mouth.
[55:53] Speaker 2: Mellow. Yeah, buddy.
[55:54] Speaker 1: Yeah. Hey. Hey, Jack. I was over there like, dude.
[56:00] Speaker 1: I was over there like.
[56:01] Speaker 2: Man, dude, shut up. Hey, man.
[56:05] Speaker 1: Leave him alone now, man.
[56:07] Speaker 6: He was trying to help.
[56:08] Speaker 1: He got a green light. Now that was ultra green.
[56:12] Speaker 2: Yeah, dude. Go ahead, bro.
[56:15] Speaker 6: No, the only reason why I said that is because
[56:16] Speaker 6: Ron Artes, when he went to the Lakers, they won
[56:18] Speaker 6: a championship. And him and Kobe had this little fuse
[56:21] Speaker 6: every time they played. So, Ron Artes and Kobe, right? So,
[56:24] Speaker 6: I just feel like if Dylan Brooks is on the
[56:26] Speaker 6: same team with LeBron or with the KD or with
[56:30] Speaker 6: the Steph or whatever. Like, it's different. Like, because I'm
[56:33] Speaker 6: trying to win now, right? So I just feel like
[56:35] Speaker 6: if that, I've seen it before. I'm just saying, I've
[56:37] Speaker 6: seen Ron and Kobe bump heads in Houston and about
[56:40] Speaker 6: to fight. And then when they get on the same team, oh, it's.
[56:42] Speaker 2: Time to go win.
[56:42] Speaker 4: Yeah, that's Kobe because he's a psychopath.
[56:44] Speaker 3: And he was the same place where he came down.
[56:46] Speaker 1: LeBron James is a psychopath. He elbowed James in his shit,
[56:50] Speaker 1: didn't he? He had a Laker jersey on, didn't he?
[56:53] Speaker 1: Elbowed James in the back of his shit.
[56:54] Speaker 9: Mm-hmm.
[56:55] Speaker 2: For no reason.
[56:56] Speaker 6: No, I know, but what I'm saying. There's no turning
[56:59] Speaker 6: it off is what I'm saying. No, no, I didn't
[57:01] Speaker 6: say he turned it off. They respect the guy. They
[57:03] Speaker 6: still want it, though. They respect the guy.
[57:05] Speaker 1: Who?
[57:05] Speaker 2: But the guy has nothing.
[57:07] Speaker 1: To do with it.
[57:07] Speaker 4: No, no, what I'm saying is like, Kobe is a
[57:10] Speaker 4: different person, right? He's the guy that when he comes
[57:16] Speaker 4: into a room, if you're scared, he don't respect you.
[57:21] Speaker 1: Right? Right.
[57:23] Speaker 4: So if you ever look at the players he brung
[57:27] Speaker 4: and he went out and got, have you noticed the
[57:29] Speaker 4: same people who challenged him took the challenge, right? Him
[57:33] Speaker 4: and Ron Artest, let me get him. Matt Barnes with
[57:35] Speaker 4: all that.
[57:36] Speaker 6: Yeah, that's what I'm saying.
[57:37] Speaker 4: He wants the guy that he knows well, you're going to.
[57:40] Speaker 1: Come at me? Okay.
[57:41] Speaker 4: Well, then I need to have you on my team.
[57:44] Speaker 1: Right?
[57:44] Speaker 4: You know what the worst, I remember someone saying this.
[57:48] Speaker 4: Someone was saying something about a player, right? And, you know,
[57:52] Speaker 4: like in the locker room, like if you back down
[57:54] Speaker 4: to me in practice, right? If we're going at, I'm
[57:57] Speaker 4: talking trash and you back out of that, that trash talking,
[58:03] Speaker 4: you're not, what are you going to do when AI
[58:05] Speaker 4: and Cole.
[58:05] Speaker 1: Was going to do?
[58:06] Speaker 4: I'm not even, that's what you're going to do. Oh,
[58:07] Speaker 4: you are no good to us. Just that simple. Me
[58:11] Speaker 4: and you talking trash. I'm trying to see where you
[58:12] Speaker 4: at mentally. And then you check out and you can't perform. Bro,
[58:16] Speaker 4: what do you, like, are you not even going to
[58:19] Speaker 4: compete when Colton start talking to you? And that's how
[58:23] Speaker 4: we judge talent. We judge who's in that foxhole with us.
[58:26] Speaker 1: Right?
[58:26] Speaker 4: So with Dylan Brooks, Cole would love Dylan Brooks going
[58:30] Speaker 4: out there, going after only the big fish. Like, hey,
[58:34] Speaker 4: I don't care if they're scoring 30 on you. You're
[58:38] Speaker 4: taking that challenge every single time. That's what he would
[58:41] Speaker 4: respect of it. And then he'll start teaching little techniques
[58:45] Speaker 4: and stuff like that.
[58:46] Speaker 1: But that's him.
[58:47] Speaker 4: Everybody else is like, bro, you're.
[58:48] Speaker 1: Nothing, bro.
[58:48] Speaker 5: So to your point about Jordan and Rodman, only one
[58:53] Speaker 5: time when I was there did Jordan ever call out
[58:56] Speaker 5: Rodman publicly for his behavior. And he might have done
[59:01] Speaker 5: it privately, and we didn't know about it. And I
[59:04] Speaker 5: don't think he mattered, minded the Madonna stuff off the floor,
[59:08] Speaker 5: staying on all night. But one night before a home
[59:12] Speaker 5: playoff game, first-round playoff game against nobody, against New Jersey,
[59:17] Speaker 5: Rodman showed up about 20 minutes before tip-off, and Jordan
[59:21] Speaker 5: would not live with that. You just don't do that
[59:25] Speaker 5: in the Chicago traffic, as you guys probably know. And remember,
[59:28] Speaker 5: it's awful before those games.
[59:29] Speaker 1: Mm-hmm.
[59:30] Speaker 5: You just have to figure out how to get downtown
[59:33] Speaker 5: two hours before the game, three hours before the game.
[59:36] Speaker 5: And Jordan started his remarks to the media that night with,
[59:40] Speaker 5: we don't need any more of this shit from Dennis Rodman.
[59:43] Speaker 5: That's a quote that started unprovoked. He just volunteered that
[59:49] Speaker 5: to the media that night. That was the only time
[59:51] Speaker 5: I ever saw him call out Dennis Rodman. But that
[59:53] Speaker 5: was about showing up on time. You can do whatever
[59:56] Speaker 5: you want. You can stay out all night. You can
[59:58] Speaker 5: come straight from the club. but you better come two
[1:00:01] Speaker 5: hours before the game, three hours before the game. So
[1:00:04] Speaker 5: Jordan's just all about the discipline of showing up, of
[1:00:13] Speaker 5: being prepared to play the basketball game that night at
[1:00:16] Speaker 5: the highest level.
[1:00:17] Speaker 1: So that was it.
[1:00:19] Speaker 3: You know the way the San Antonio organization has been
[1:00:22] Speaker 3: noted for being, right?
[1:00:23] Speaker 2: Yeah.
[1:00:24] Speaker 3: Under pop and all that. They went and signed Dennis.
[1:00:27] Speaker 3: You know what I'm saying?
[1:00:29] Speaker 6: Yeah, but that's what I'm saying. But look at the
[1:00:32] Speaker 6: situations that Dennis is in. He's in winning situations where
[1:00:36] Speaker 6: a lot of it is on the table.
[1:00:37] Speaker 1: He is a winner. Yes, no, but for sure. But
[1:00:39] Speaker 1: I think Dylan Brooks plays as a winner, too.
[1:00:41] Speaker 4: I'm not saying.
[1:00:42] Speaker 6: Like, in Memphis, they were getting to the playoffs.
[1:00:43] Speaker 4: I'm not.
[1:00:44] Speaker 6: Like, I don't think he doesn't play to win, but
[1:00:46] Speaker 6: he hasn't been in an environment to where he is
[1:00:49] Speaker 6: on that level and where it matters the most. Like,
[1:00:52] Speaker 6: he went to Memphis where they're trying to... Like, you know,
[1:00:54] Speaker 6: they're trying to win.
[1:00:55] Speaker 1: Yeah, they're young.
[1:00:55] Speaker 6: They're... They're coming up. They're young. But, like, give them
[1:00:58] Speaker 6: an opportunity to go play for a team that's in
[1:01:00] Speaker 6: Boston or something.
[1:01:01] Speaker 1: Like, have them be around that type of atmosphere.
[1:01:03] Speaker 6: We'll see. Because if he's a psycho, psychos know how to,
[1:01:08] Speaker 6: when it's time to win, I'm a psycho, but I
[1:01:10] Speaker 6: also know I ain't that damn, I ain't that bigger
[1:01:12] Speaker 6: than the program now.
[1:01:13] Speaker 1: Come on.
[1:01:13] Speaker 4: Yeah, like, when you're talking about with a superstar and
[1:01:18] Speaker 4: if you aren't, like, if they're the offensive side and
[1:01:21] Speaker 4: you're not the defensive side of that and you're just
[1:01:24] Speaker 4: a mediocre defensive player, That's just talking trash. No, I'm good.
[1:01:30] Speaker 2: But he's not.
[1:01:31] Speaker 1: I'm good. He's not mediocre right now. No, what I'm saying. No, no, not.
[1:01:35] Speaker 4: I'm talking about defensively. Right now, he's turning into a
[1:01:37] Speaker 4: two-way player. That's why I'm saying you don't need the
[1:01:40] Speaker 4: gimmick of the defense anymore because you can.
[1:01:42] Speaker 1: Hype yourself off of buckets.
[1:01:44] Speaker 2: Yeah.
[1:01:45] Speaker 1: Right? Okay.
[1:01:45] Speaker 9: Right.
[1:01:46] Speaker 4: Before, he was hyping it off of defense. And then now,
[1:01:50] Speaker 4: you know, I mean defense would I don't have no
[1:01:51] Speaker 4: fourth option. I don't have no production.
[1:01:53] Speaker 3: John Aaron Bain him. He was the fourth option. So
[1:01:57] Speaker 3: I should I got to get it where I can.
[1:01:59] Speaker 3: That's that like.
[1:02:00] Speaker 4: No matter how many shots Draymond missed from the three.
[1:02:04] Speaker 4: He's still locking down down there because the his his
[1:02:07] Speaker 4: shooting is just like I'm open. I'm open. There's nothing
[1:02:12] Speaker 4: you're going to say that bothers my trip when you're
[1:02:14] Speaker 4: averaging 20 points a game.
[1:02:17] Speaker 1: It's different. 20 points again, that's a bigger contract. Now
[1:02:21] Speaker 1: I care about the shots that I'm shooting.
[1:02:23] Speaker 4: So now if I'm missing and you start talking trash,
[1:02:27] Speaker 4: I'm now.
[1:02:30] Speaker 1: The one running.
[1:02:31] Speaker 6: You think he'd be looked at different if he was
[1:02:32] Speaker 6: in Miami? With the way they run their stuff?
[1:02:37] Speaker 2: No, listen.
[1:02:38] Speaker 4: You remember I said it earlier, man. I said, you
[1:02:40] Speaker 4: know what?
[1:02:41] Speaker 1: He trained too hard this summer.
[1:02:45] Speaker 4: On skill development, Right, you can see he put in
[1:02:50] Speaker 4: a lot of work to be this productive, to still
[1:02:54] Speaker 4: only be known as Dylan the villain.
[1:02:57] Speaker 1: You have outgrown.
[1:02:59] Speaker 2: No one would know he's averaging 20.
[1:03:01] Speaker 1: No one would know he's averaging 20.
[1:03:04] Speaker 2: The antics and everything, it outweighs.
[1:03:07] Speaker 4: It's still Dylan, it's Dylan, Dylan, even though he's averaging
[1:03:09] Speaker 4: 20 points a game. He needs to stand on these buckets.
[1:03:13] Speaker 4: So Brooks the bucket instead of Dylan.
[1:03:15] Speaker 1: Yeah, I would say that.
[1:03:16] Speaker 4: Or just Dylan Brooks. Or just Dylan Brooks. I'm a
[1:03:19] Speaker 4: bucket getter now. I'll be saying I'm a bucket getter now.
[1:03:21] Speaker 4: Defensive players got to stop me. I can only stop
[1:03:25] Speaker 4: myself at this point. I would start doing stuff like that.
[1:03:28] Speaker 4: You know what I mean? The defensive side, you've outgrown
[1:03:32] Speaker 4: the Dylan the Villain.
[1:03:33] Speaker 1: All right. Let's keep this thing moving. Got some more
[1:03:37] Speaker 1: things to discuss. So let's head over to Milwaukee with
[1:03:39] Speaker 1: the Giannis and Bucs saga taking yet another turn as
[1:03:42] Speaker 1: tensions continue. So this past weekend, NBA announced they were
[1:03:48] Speaker 1: investigating the Bucs for potential violations of the player participation
[1:03:52] Speaker 1: policy for their handling of Giannis' knee injury. Giannis has
[1:03:55] Speaker 1: been sidelined since March 15th after hyperextending his knee in
[1:03:58] Speaker 1: the game against the Pacers. Now missed 12 straight games
[1:04:02] Speaker 1: with what the team is describing as a bone bruise.
[1:04:04] Speaker 1: Before the Bucs game against the Celtics this past Friday,
[1:04:07] Speaker 1: Giannis was very candid about being healthy enough to play
[1:04:10] Speaker 1: and the Bucs sitting him against his wishes.
[1:04:12] Speaker 9: I'm available to play today, right now.
[1:04:14] Speaker 1: I'm available.
[1:04:15] Speaker 2: Do I look like I'm not available?
[1:04:18] Speaker 1: You tell me. You guys be around me. Do I
[1:04:20] Speaker 1: look like I'm hurting? Good.
[1:04:23] Speaker 9: So, I don't see myself in the first 12.
[1:04:26] Speaker 1: I don't see.
[1:04:27] Speaker 9: I don't see myself.
[1:04:28] Speaker 1: In the starting lineup.
[1:04:29] Speaker 4: That's pretty much it.
[1:04:34] Speaker 9: I don't know what game is being played right here.
[1:04:36] Speaker 6: I just don't want to be a part of it.
[1:04:39] Speaker 1: Especially, like, look.
[1:04:42] Speaker 11: I'm, like, I understand.
[1:04:45] Speaker 1: I'm a vet.
[1:04:46] Speaker 9: I've been here 15 years. You know, and the team
[1:04:49] Speaker 9: gets eliminated in the playoffs. be smart, take care of
[1:04:52] Speaker 9: your body, you know, be in and out, be in
[1:04:56] Speaker 9: minute restriction, just be, you know, careful. Pray for the
[1:04:59] Speaker 9: next season, pray for the next generation, for the young players,
[1:05:02] Speaker 9: in case you need to go out there.
[1:05:03] Speaker 6: I get that.
[1:05:05] Speaker 9: But that wasn't the time that this took place. That's
[1:05:07] Speaker 9: what bothers me. It's something like you wave the white flag.
[1:05:11] Speaker 9: And I don't do that.
[1:05:12] Speaker 1: I am sorry.
[1:05:14] Speaker 9: I don't.
[1:05:15] Speaker 11: I'm not saying I will never, I never will.
[1:05:17] Speaker 2: I'm sorry.
[1:05:18] Speaker 1: You know who you are dealing with.
[1:05:19] Speaker 9: So for.
[1:05:20] Speaker 11: For somebody to come and tell me to not play
[1:05:22] Speaker 11: or to not compete, it's like there's love in my face.
[1:05:26] Speaker 11: So I don't know where the relationship goes from there.
[1:05:28] Speaker 11: We've got to go in couples therapy.
[1:05:31] Speaker 9: Go, consultation, couples therapy, sit down, you know, tell the side,
[1:05:37] Speaker 9: I'm telling my side.
[1:05:37] Speaker 1: Let me be, find a solution. Right? That's the work.
[1:05:42] Speaker 2: Find a solution together.
[1:05:44] Speaker 1: Just in couples therapy with him in the books, Giannis
[1:05:46] Speaker 1: went on to say, I've never seen A case of
[1:05:48] Speaker 1: my caliber player saying it publicly. I want to F
[1:05:51] Speaker 1: him play. You know what I'm saying. I don't think
[1:05:54] Speaker 1: I've seen this. So if there needs to be an investigation, great.
[1:05:57] Speaker 1: There should be.
[1:05:57] Speaker 6: I don't know.
[1:05:59] Speaker 1: There should be until we figure something out. Giannis was
[1:06:00] Speaker 1: ruled out for the Bucks game against the Nets Tuesday.
[1:06:03] Speaker 1: In an interview with The Athletic's Eric Name, Bucks GM
[1:06:06] Speaker 1: John Horse said the following. He's not clear to play
[1:06:09] Speaker 1: yet in the game, and we're going to continue to
[1:06:10] Speaker 1: evaluate it. I don't know what the outcome in that
[1:06:13] Speaker 1: world will be, but the only lens has been to
[1:06:15] Speaker 1: make our best professional judgment for him And for us,
[1:06:19] Speaker 1: and it has nothing to do with draft picks, nothing
[1:06:21] Speaker 1: to do with tanking, everything to do with the health
[1:06:24] Speaker 1: of the player. So the Bucs have told investigators that
[1:06:26] Speaker 1: Giannis declined the opportunity to play three-on-three scrimmages as a
[1:06:29] Speaker 1: part of his return protocol from his knee injury. Giannis
[1:06:32] Speaker 1: has told the NBA that he's healthy enough to return
[1:06:35] Speaker 1: to action. Regardless, obviously, Mr. B, one of the motivating
[1:06:38] Speaker 1: factors is Giannis' desire to play with his brothers, Alex
[1:06:41] Speaker 1: and Thanasis. who made history as the first trio of
[1:06:44] Speaker 1: brothers to be on the same active NBA roster. I
[1:06:46] Speaker 1: think Alex got his first points recently. You were out
[1:06:48] Speaker 1: heavy in Milwaukee. I was out there a couple weeks ago.
[1:06:50] Speaker 1: Looked at Giannis working out before the game against the Clippers.
[1:06:53] Speaker 1: Looked like he was able, willing, ready to play in
[1:06:56] Speaker 1: that particular game. But, Mr. B, what's your reaction to
[1:06:59] Speaker 1: the messy situation going on with Giannis and the Bucs
[1:07:01] Speaker 1: right now?
[1:07:04] Speaker 6: I mean, well, both don't want to look like the
[1:07:07] Speaker 6: bad guy, but... No, they both look like the bad
[1:07:10] Speaker 6: guys right now. I mean, because they both can't figure
[1:07:12] Speaker 6: it out. I mean, he's healthy. I mean, he looked
[1:07:17] Speaker 6: healthy to me when I was out there and he
[1:07:19] Speaker 6: was working out to me. But they got a game
[1:07:22] Speaker 6: maybe Friday or something. You know, if I'm honest, I
[1:07:26] Speaker 6: would want to play with my brothers. I'm sure that
[1:07:27] Speaker 6: would be the last time they'll probably, you know, last
[1:07:30] Speaker 6: home game together. But it's just, you know, it's an
[1:07:34] Speaker 6: unfortunate situation because, you know, this should have been done
[1:07:38] Speaker 6: behind closed doors. Um, I don't think both, I think
[1:07:41] Speaker 6: both sides, I mean, I think the fans and everybody,
[1:07:43] Speaker 6: they understand, you know, what it is. I mean, this
[1:07:46] Speaker 6: is a guy who brought a championship, you know, to
[1:07:48] Speaker 6: the city in 50 years. So, you know, he's done
[1:07:50] Speaker 6: his job. Uh, John horse, you know, John Hammond, you know,
[1:07:54] Speaker 6: who drafted him, he drafted me also. Um, you know,
[1:07:57] Speaker 6: he knew what he was doing and, you know, Giannis,
[1:07:59] Speaker 6: Giannis checked off everything that you can, that you can
[1:08:02] Speaker 6: think of that as, as a Milwaukee bug player. So, um,
[1:08:06] Speaker 6: hopefully they figure it out. Um, You know, if Giannis
[1:08:09] Speaker 6: wants to play and this is somebody that you want
[1:08:11] Speaker 6: to come back, I would let him play. But it's
[1:08:14] Speaker 6: definitely going to have to be some changes being made
[1:08:17] Speaker 6: from top to bottom. But that's just between the monkey
[1:08:20] Speaker 6: bucks in this situation. But it is ugly and it's
[1:08:24] Speaker 6: unfortunate right now.
[1:08:25] Speaker 4: It's between who?
[1:08:27] Speaker 1: Him?
[1:08:28] Speaker 2: No, he's at it publicly.
[1:08:29] Speaker 6: It's us. It's everybody.
[1:08:30] Speaker 2: Couples therapy.
[1:08:32] Speaker 1: He put everybody. I mean, yeah, now it's publicly. But, yeah,
[1:08:37] Speaker 1: I don't know, man.
[1:08:39] Speaker 6: It's unfortunate.
[1:08:43] Speaker 4: I love it. I love it.
[1:08:46] Speaker 1: Why do you love it, Gil?
[1:08:47] Speaker 4: Because it proves over and over that load management was
[1:08:55] Speaker 4: never part of a player's DNA. It has always been
[1:08:59] Speaker 4: the upper. management and they've been getting called out over
[1:09:03] Speaker 4: and over but nobody tends to listen. And what Giannis
[1:09:09] Speaker 4: said is he's the only superstar to publicly come out
[1:09:13] Speaker 4: and say something, you know, because he has the advantage
[1:09:16] Speaker 4: right now because, you know, right? So, Listen, it's business.
[1:09:23] Speaker 4: We're looking for people. I don't care what they say.
[1:09:26] Speaker 4: The rules change next year. Everything still is applied this year.
[1:09:29] Speaker 4: We tank this year. We get one of these.
[1:09:32] Speaker 1: Nice little phenoms that's coming in. What's the name?
[1:09:35] Speaker 4: We're good. We have something moving forward. So I'm not
[1:09:39] Speaker 4: going to mess that up. Letting you come in here
[1:09:41] Speaker 4: and play, put us in the play-in game. We win
[1:09:43] Speaker 4: the play-in game. Now we're in the playoffs. Now we're
[1:09:46] Speaker 4: the eighth seed. And now we got the 16th pick
[1:09:48] Speaker 4: with the sorry-ass team. No, that's not what we're going
[1:09:51] Speaker 4: to do.
[1:09:51] Speaker 1: You're going to sit over there.
[1:09:53] Speaker 4: You're going to let the masses and what's the other one? Alex.
[1:09:58] Speaker 1: Alex.
[1:09:58] Speaker 4: Oh, he got a regular name. Alex.
[1:10:01] Speaker 1: He must be the oldest one.
[1:10:02] Speaker 6: No, he's the youngest.
[1:10:04] Speaker 1: He's the youngest. Yeah, he's the youngest. Oh, it's the Nassus, Giannis.
[1:10:06] Speaker 1: They're Americanized.
[1:10:07] Speaker 4: We got Americanized, Alex. All right, so I know you
[1:10:11] Speaker 4: want to play with them.
[1:10:12] Speaker 1: Cool, right? I'm Alexandros. Okay, there we go. There we go.
[1:10:16] Speaker 1: There we go, Greco. But obviously, this is about the future.
[1:10:22] Speaker 1: You're this far into where you guys are. You might
[1:10:27] Speaker 1: as well just continue to sink in. There's no point
[1:10:29] Speaker 1: of we already halfway. You know, the boat is already
[1:10:32] Speaker 1: halfway to the bottom. There ain't no point of trying
[1:10:34] Speaker 1: to patch it up now.
[1:10:36] Speaker 4: Now, if you want to play there because you want
[1:10:38] Speaker 4: to play with your brother, cool.
[1:10:41] Speaker 1: Come on, let's go. All three of y'all start. Run
[1:10:44] Speaker 1: up and down. Sup? Get them out. This Friday. Get
[1:10:47] Speaker 1: them out. This Friday.
[1:10:49] Speaker 6: Yeah, we can do it this Friday. I'm taking them out.
[1:10:50] Speaker 1: I'm going to play them for one. I'm going to
[1:10:52] Speaker 1: piss them off.
[1:10:53] Speaker 4: Play them one minute. Sup?
[1:10:55] Speaker 2: Mr.
[1:10:55] Speaker 4: Stats up since you want to be out there so much.
[1:10:59] Speaker 1: You want to.
[1:11:01] Speaker 4: Run out there with your mouth. I'm going to say, oh,
[1:11:02] Speaker 4: it still look bruised. It still look bruised, bone bruised. Because,
[1:11:06] Speaker 4: you know, it's a bone bruise. That means you can
[1:11:08] Speaker 4: only see if it's healed through MRI. You can't tell
[1:11:12] Speaker 4: me it's fixed.
[1:11:13] Speaker 1: MRI said it's still there.
[1:11:15] Speaker 2: You took my point. He can say how he feel
[1:11:17] Speaker 2: all he want.
[1:11:18] Speaker 1: Mm-hmm.
[1:11:23] Speaker 3: That MRI is saying something different. You see this spot
[1:11:26] Speaker 3: right here? In the MRI, you see.
[1:11:28] Speaker 2: This spot right here?
[1:11:28] Speaker 6: That spot that they put there.
[1:11:29] Speaker 1: That spot say you ain't healthy. That spot. Hey, trust me.
[1:11:33] Speaker 1: Bone group, dog.
[1:11:34] Speaker 2: He can say he feel good all he want.
[1:11:35] Speaker 1: Yeah. Right? Yeah. The MRI telling them people, if it's
[1:11:39] Speaker 1: saying he healthy or it ain't healthy, They going with
[1:11:42] Speaker 1: the medical thing, right? That's why they use the key
[1:11:45] Speaker 1: word in that. He is not cleared. He's not cleared.
[1:11:48] Speaker 1: He didn't want to play three on three. He didn't
[1:11:50] Speaker 1: want to play. So he is not cleared. Come run
[1:11:52] Speaker 1: these three.
[1:11:53] Speaker 3: So we can continue down this path, right? They have
[1:11:58] Speaker 3: 31 wins on the season. It's no guarantee of a
[1:12:03] Speaker 3: top 10 pick, right?
[1:12:05] Speaker 1: They get the lesser of theirs in the Pelicans picks
[1:12:08] Speaker 1: or Pelicans picks. We traded that pick to the Hawks
[1:12:10] Speaker 1: for Derrick Queen, if I'm not mistaken. Okay, that was
[1:12:12] Speaker 1: a good pick. So they get the lowest between who? Potentially.
[1:12:16] Speaker 1: The lowest between that. So that should be top three,
[1:12:18] Speaker 1: top five. They should be top ten. Maybe. Yeah, I'm
[1:12:21] Speaker 1: just saying. Maybe.
[1:12:23] Speaker 4: Listen, if you in the top ten this year, you
[1:12:25] Speaker 4: should get someone good.
[1:12:26] Speaker 3: Yeah, but you can't be thinking that the same shit
[1:12:28] Speaker 3: going to happen to the Mavericks last year. You got
[1:12:30] Speaker 3: a one, half a percent chance, and you get the
[1:12:33] Speaker 3: number one pick.
[1:12:33] Speaker 2: You can't.
[1:12:34] Speaker 1: Rely on that. Right? But small market team, it may
[1:12:37] Speaker 1: get a little.
[1:12:38] Speaker 2: Pelicans get the number one pick. They keep it, right?
[1:12:41] Speaker 1: I think it goes to the Hawks.
[1:12:42] Speaker 2: It goes to the Hawks?
[1:12:43] Speaker 1: Yeah. So either way it goes. And then the Bucs
[1:12:45] Speaker 1: would keep their pick. Now, if the Bucs get the
[1:12:47] Speaker 1: number one pick, it goes to the Hawks.
[1:12:49] Speaker 4: So whoever gets the number one pick between the Bucs
[1:12:52] Speaker 4: and the New Orleans, it goes to the Hawks?
[1:12:53] Speaker 1: Whoever gets the higher pick, that goes to the Hawks.
[1:12:55] Speaker 1: And then the Bucs would get the less favorable pick.
[1:12:59] Speaker 1: So to B's point, right? Everybody look bad in this situation.
[1:13:02] Speaker 1: There's no win in this situation right now. Right?
[1:13:05] Speaker 3: Because there's no guarantees. It's not like the NFL. You
[1:13:08] Speaker 3: know what you're going to pick. You finish certain records.
[1:13:12] Speaker 3: You got 12, 8, 6 wins. You're going to pick 5.
[1:13:17] Speaker 3: You got 4 wins. You're going to pick 2.
[1:13:19] Speaker 1: It ain't like that.
[1:13:20] Speaker 2: Proper tanking. Yeah. You can do that in the NFL.
[1:13:23] Speaker 4: Right?
[1:13:24] Speaker 3: This is not that. So, it's a nasty game. It's
[1:13:29] Speaker 3: a nasty divorce going on, right? People slinging mud now, right? Giannis,
[1:13:34] Speaker 3: he feel he needs to defend himself. The Bucks feel
[1:13:37] Speaker 3: they need to defend themselves. So I see a nasty
[1:13:41] Speaker 3: ending coming this summer, right? And that's them parting ways.
[1:13:46] Speaker 3: There's no coming back from it.
[1:13:48] Speaker 6: But if it's nasty, it's between them, not the fans.
[1:13:50] Speaker 1: I don't think the fans.
[1:13:52] Speaker 6: I think the fans are happy just whatever happens just happens.
[1:13:55] Speaker 1: Because the fans.
[1:13:57] Speaker 6: Listen, the fans already love Giannis for what he done.
[1:14:01] Speaker 6: So it's not that. So they just want him to
[1:14:02] Speaker 6: be happy and you know, whatever it is. I don't
[1:14:05] Speaker 6: think the fans would be like, oh, man, like he traded. No, no, no.
[1:14:08] Speaker 1: The fans ain't going to be tripping. I believe that.
[1:14:09] Speaker 1: You know what I'm saying? Like, they're not going to
[1:14:11] Speaker 1: be tripping.
[1:14:12] Speaker 6: They're not going to turn on Giannis.
[1:14:13] Speaker 2: It's like my situation when I left the Nets.
[1:14:15] Speaker 6: Yeah, it's not.
[1:14:17] Speaker 1: It ain't him. Yeah, it ain't you. Well, we want him.
[1:14:20] Speaker 1: He want his money, but he want to play. It
[1:14:22] Speaker 1: ain't him.
[1:14:22] Speaker 6: So if anything get nasty, it's just going to be between.
[1:14:24] Speaker 3: The fans are collateral damage in this now. The Bucs
[1:14:27] Speaker 3: fans are collateral damage in this situation. It's very unfortunate. But, yeah,
[1:14:33] Speaker 3: the writing's on the wall, man. It's time for him
[1:14:36] Speaker 3: to move around. It's time for him to find his
[1:14:39] Speaker 3: peace again and go out and do what he loves doing,
[1:14:42] Speaker 3: and it's competing at a high level.
[1:14:44] Speaker 1: And you know he's going to do that. So, yeah,
[1:14:46] Speaker 1: let's just get it done, man. Let's shift over to you, Skip.
[1:14:51] Speaker 1: This Giannis situation has been going on for a while now.
[1:14:53] Speaker 1: Shams dropped an article yesterday detailing a lot of stuff
[1:14:55] Speaker 1: that we already knew, but essentially that Giannis and his
[1:14:58] Speaker 1: crew behind the scenes have been saying, look, it's time
[1:15:01] Speaker 1: to move on. Get me out of here. I'll never
[1:15:04] Speaker 1: publicly request a trade or try to embarrass a franchise,
[1:15:06] Speaker 1: but get me out of here, New York. Knicks were
[1:15:09] Speaker 1: reportedly his favorite or his preferred destination, the only spot
[1:15:12] Speaker 1: he was going to. So when you see this situation
[1:15:15] Speaker 1: going on with Giannis and the Bucs, now he's made
[1:15:16] Speaker 1: comments all season, even last summer. Maybe I'll stay. Maybe
[1:15:20] Speaker 1: I'll go. Maybe I can go to Denver. Maybe I
[1:15:22] Speaker 1: can go here. But what do you make of this
[1:15:24] Speaker 1: messy situation with Giannis?
[1:15:25] Speaker 5: I read every word of Shum's piece. It was well done.
[1:15:28] Speaker 5: Learned a lot. I'm sure Brandon already knows all of
[1:15:31] Speaker 5: the above. or below, it's all via below, right? This
[1:15:37] Speaker 5: is just what's hard for me to believe, that the
[1:15:40] Speaker 5: Milwaukee Bucks in five years have gone from NBA champions
[1:15:46] Speaker 5: to maybe the biggest mess I can remember in the
[1:15:51] Speaker 5: history of the NBA, because it's not a funny mess,
[1:15:54] Speaker 5: it's a sorry, nasty mess, as you just said. It's ugly,
[1:15:59] Speaker 5: personal mess, and it's hard to believe it got to
[1:16:02] Speaker 5: this point, although I'm not trying to put you on
[1:16:05] Speaker 5: the hot seat here, but when Jimmy Haslam gets involved
[1:16:09] Speaker 5: with a team, as he has been with the Cleveland
[1:16:11] Speaker 5: Browns and the National Football League, it turns toward clown
[1:16:16] Speaker 5: show to me, and he's heavily involved in this one.
[1:16:19] Speaker 5: So to your point, Joe, about the offseason, he made
[1:16:25] Speaker 5: it clear, I want to go to the Knicks. And
[1:16:28] Speaker 5: they said, well, give us one more shot. We're going
[1:16:30] Speaker 5: to send Dame back to Portland and we're going to
[1:16:34] Speaker 5: go get Miles Turner. And they did.
[1:16:36] Speaker 1: OK.
[1:16:37] Speaker 5: And Giannis says, OK, I'll try it. And they immediately
[1:16:40] Speaker 5: fall to nine and 13 right out of the gate.
[1:16:43] Speaker 5: And he's like, that's it. And his agent goes to him.
[1:16:46] Speaker 5: His agent also named Alex from Greece. Alex.
[1:16:49] Speaker 4: Yeah.
[1:16:50] Speaker 5: And and they just say, OK, that's enough. Nine and 13.
[1:16:55] Speaker 5: Get us get us out.
[1:16:56] Speaker 1: We want out.
[1:16:57] Speaker 5: And the trade deadline gets closer and closer. And everybody
[1:17:00] Speaker 5: obviously wants Giannis. And the Heat make their best offer.
[1:17:04] Speaker 5: And the Timberwolves and the Golden State Warriors. Everybody is clamoring.
[1:17:09] Speaker 5: I think everybody in the league made an offer for
[1:17:11] Speaker 5: Giannis at the trade deadline. And your GM Horst, according
[1:17:17] Speaker 5: to everybody around the league through Shams, he wouldn't return
[1:17:22] Speaker 5: phone calls.
[1:17:22] Speaker 1: It's like.
[1:17:23] Speaker 5: the owners are saying, oh, screw him. You know, just
[1:17:26] Speaker 5: make him wait. Make him sweat because we'll just hang
[1:17:29] Speaker 5: on to his ass for the rest of the year.
[1:17:31] Speaker 5: That's how it came across to me. That we're just
[1:17:33] Speaker 5: going to hold, we'll just make him sweat for the last,
[1:17:37] Speaker 5: whatever it is, three months of the season. And they're
[1:17:40] Speaker 5: mathematically eliminated on March 28th and And now, remember, Giannis
[1:17:46] Speaker 5: has been hurt five times this year. And I think
[1:17:49] Speaker 5: they're like legit injuries until now. I'm not sure about
[1:17:52] Speaker 5: this one. But the previous four, he was hurt. I'm
[1:17:56] Speaker 5: pretty sure because it was his choice to say, I'm hurt,
[1:17:58] Speaker 5: I can't go. And with him on the floor this year,
[1:18:02] Speaker 5: they're 17 and 19. So they're two games under. 500
[1:18:06] Speaker 5: with Giannis playing basketball for them. So everything is wrong
[1:18:10] Speaker 5: about this. And to Brandon's initial point, It's like everybody's
[1:18:15] Speaker 5: the bad guy. It's hard to say, it's his fault. No,
[1:18:19] Speaker 5: it's all their fault because it got personal. And it
[1:18:24] Speaker 5: got so messy personal that now we get to what's happening.
[1:18:30] Speaker 5: And to your point, he does want to play to
[1:18:33] Speaker 5: play with his brothers. I get that. And yet, There
[1:18:38] Speaker 5: are two other things operating here. He's got a Nike
[1:18:40] Speaker 5: deal that pays him off if he plays 41 plus.
[1:18:45] Speaker 1: Games, and he ain't gonna get there. He did not
[1:18:47] Speaker 1: get there.
[1:18:47] Speaker 5: Okay, so that's a big chunk of money. that he's
[1:18:50] Speaker 5: not happy about losing. And then finally, it appears to
[1:18:54] Speaker 5: me it got so personal, he actually wants to play
[1:18:57] Speaker 5: to try to win games to damage their ping pong
[1:18:59] Speaker 5: ball chances. Like he wants to play to screw them.
[1:19:03] Speaker 5: I'm going to win games and screw these people because
[1:19:07] Speaker 5: they wouldn't let me leave twice in the offseason at
[1:19:10] Speaker 5: the trade deadline. And it's just, it's hard to believe.
[1:19:13] Speaker 5: And it feels like Giannis has lost heart. Doc's on
[1:19:17] Speaker 5: his way out. And I love Doc. But man, this
[1:19:20] Speaker 5: team has completely quit Just quit, quit, quit on everybody.
[1:19:24] Speaker 1: Call them to check his resume. Yeah. Yeah. Okay.
[1:19:28] Speaker 2: But from the beginning, right? When they fired Boone Hoser, right?
[1:19:32] Speaker 4: Yeah.
[1:19:32] Speaker 2: We all was like, what y'all do that for?
[1:19:37] Speaker 1: Right? Yep.
[1:19:38] Speaker 2: Like, what y'all do that for?
[1:19:39] Speaker 1: Yep.
[1:19:40] Speaker 2: And it's been downhill since.
[1:19:41] Speaker 4: It has.
[1:19:42] Speaker 1: It has been a shit show since they fired Mike Boone.
[1:19:45] Speaker 5: They've lost in the first round three straight years of
[1:19:47] Speaker 5: the playoffs. Three straight first round exits, just for the record.
[1:19:50] Speaker 5: I mean, that's how bad it is.
[1:19:51] Speaker 1: He has a lot to do with that.
[1:19:52] Speaker 2: He hasn't been hurt.
[1:19:54] Speaker 1: There's been a lot of changes. Coaches, owners, Peter's gone.
[1:19:56] Speaker 6: It's a lot of stuff.
[1:19:57] Speaker 2: The only thing that.
[1:19:58] Speaker 6: Worries me is with the Bucs, they're superstars that don't
[1:20:00] Speaker 6: come back. I just wonder what what really goes on
[1:20:12] Speaker 6: with the, you know, the big dogs, the Ray Allens,
[1:20:14] Speaker 6: the Kareems, the, the, the big O's. And it's just like,
[1:20:18] Speaker 6: you know, like there's, there are core superstars, the guys who,
[1:20:21] Speaker 6: who helped the city, like who, who it is, you know,
[1:20:24] Speaker 6: they don't come back. And it's just kind of like,
[1:20:26] Speaker 6: you know, it's kind of like, you know, like I don't,
[1:20:28] Speaker 6: I don't want to see this same situation happen with Giannis,
[1:20:30] Speaker 6: the guy who, you know what I'm saying?
[1:20:33] Speaker 1: 50 years without a championship.
[1:20:34] Speaker 6: And now, you know, he's looking at, oh, I don't
[1:20:36] Speaker 6: ever want to come back.
[1:20:37] Speaker 1: To the city.
[1:20:37] Speaker 6: It's like, man, you built this. Like, this is you. Like,
[1:20:40] Speaker 6: this whole new arena and everything. And it's just, you know,
[1:20:43] Speaker 6: that's where it's looking like.
[1:20:44] Speaker 1: Huh?
[1:20:44] Speaker 2: It's how you treat it while you're there.
[1:20:46] Speaker 6: You know, and it's just like, damn, like, you know,
[1:20:48] Speaker 6: I just hope they can figure it out, you know,
[1:20:50] Speaker 6: in a way because, I mean, this guy has a
[1:20:53] Speaker 6: store right across the street from the damn arena. Anytime you, like,
[1:20:56] Speaker 6: go into a very big store, like, you know, it's
[1:20:58] Speaker 6: just like, you know.
[1:20:59] Speaker 4: You said one thing that they said, Skip said it.
[1:21:01] Speaker 4: You said, uh, They're sweating him out. What do you think?
[1:21:09] Speaker 4: You're sweating out who?
[1:21:11] Speaker 2: That's what they think.
[1:21:12] Speaker 4: Every team wants him.
[1:21:14] Speaker 2: There's no sweat.
[1:21:17] Speaker 4: On him. The problem becomes you guys because I don't
[1:21:23] Speaker 4: think you're understanding how chess plays. You're going to get
[1:21:27] Speaker 4: your best options now before tread.
[1:21:32] Speaker 6: Everyone's dumb. Agreed.
[1:21:34] Speaker 4: Everyone's trying to win.
[1:21:35] Speaker 1: I'm going to give you here, here, here. You three go.
[1:21:39] Speaker 4: They don't know what they're giving up. They're not thinking.
[1:21:42] Speaker 4: They're giving you the best options. So you say, we
[1:21:46] Speaker 4: don't want none of those. We're going to wait until
[1:21:48] Speaker 4: the summer. Now you have to be a genius in
[1:21:51] Speaker 4: negotiation because I have all the summer. I get to
[1:21:55] Speaker 4: sit back, relax. I get to really look. I get
[1:21:57] Speaker 4: to really look at what you're putting. I get to
[1:22:00] Speaker 4: look and see what I want now. Now I almost
[1:22:04] Speaker 4: gave you these two pieces. Now we're going to take
[1:22:06] Speaker 4: that off the table. Because now you have to get
[1:22:10] Speaker 4: rid of them. Now we're going to play, all of
[1:22:12] Speaker 4: us are going to play the waiting game on you.
[1:22:14] Speaker 4: You was playing it on Giannis. We're going to play
[1:22:16] Speaker 4: it on you because we don't have to give you nothing.
[1:22:19] Speaker 5: Okay, but they didn't want Giannis to go somewhere this
[1:22:22] Speaker 5: June and win a championship despite them, right? I'm sorry, what.
[1:22:26] Speaker 1: The hell did I got to do with y'all? If
[1:22:28] Speaker 1: he goes and wins a championship... But he's that good.
[1:22:31] Speaker 1: It doesn't matter.
[1:22:33] Speaker 4: How does that help you? You still got to think
[1:22:35] Speaker 4: about you. It's your team moving forward. It's my organization.
[1:22:39] Speaker 4: I don't care if you go win a championship. Did
[1:22:42] Speaker 4: I get back pieces for me to build my team?
[1:22:45] Speaker 4: Because obviously if you're that good, you won one here.
[1:22:49] Speaker 4: So if you go team up with another superstar, I'm
[1:22:52] Speaker 4: pretty sure you're going to win another championship. So how
[1:22:55] Speaker 4: does that? affect me and my... It's an ego play.
[1:22:59] Speaker 5: Personal.
[1:22:59] Speaker 1: It's like the.
[1:23:00] Speaker 3: PG thing with Oklahoma City going to the Clippers with
[1:23:03] Speaker 3: Shea and all.
[1:23:04] Speaker 1: It's like that, right?
[1:23:05] Speaker 6: It's... Yeah, but why does it get to that? Like,
[1:23:10] Speaker 6: why does it have to even get to that?
[1:23:11] Speaker 1: Ego.
[1:23:12] Speaker 6: I mean, I know, but why we just can't be like, yo, listen, man,
[1:23:16] Speaker 6: you did what you did for here. Yo, I thank everybody.
[1:23:18] Speaker 1: Boom, boom, boom.
[1:23:18] Speaker 6: Let's just go our way. Like, because at the end
[1:23:20] Speaker 6: of the day, they all won.
[1:23:22] Speaker 1: Like, both won.
[1:23:23] Speaker 6: They got the championship for the.
[1:23:25] Speaker 1: City, right?
[1:23:25] Speaker 3: It ain't the same owners or the same people that
[1:23:28] Speaker 3: drafted it.
[1:23:29] Speaker 1: It's not the same people.
[1:23:31] Speaker 4: They're not invested in it.
[1:23:32] Speaker 2: So they're not invested at all.
[1:23:34] Speaker 1: They didn't build that championship. They don't care.
[1:23:36] Speaker 6: Yeah, but why would I invest in something and not be...
[1:23:40] Speaker 6: You know what I'm saying? This is what I'm investing.
[1:23:41] Speaker 6: I'm investing to the whole history.
[1:23:42] Speaker 1: Everything.
[1:23:43] Speaker 6: From the jump. It's a toy for them. I know,
[1:23:47] Speaker 6: but if I'm buying a team, if I'm buying a team,
[1:23:49] Speaker 6: I want the whole history.
[1:23:51] Speaker 1: But you're not buying history unless you're buying the Lakers,
[1:23:54] Speaker 1: the Cowboys, the Yankees, the Red Sox, or the Patriots.
[1:23:57] Speaker 4: Every NBA team is history.
[1:23:58] Speaker 1: You're not buying history unless you're buying that.
[1:24:01] Speaker 2: They got two championships in their existence, right?
[1:24:03] Speaker 4: Yeah.
[1:24:04] Speaker 2: You're not buying that. It's a shiny new toy.
[1:24:07] Speaker 1: You got a brand new Bugatti, right?
[1:24:09] Speaker 4: Yeah.
[1:24:10] Speaker 3: And I'm a street racer. I'm not a collector. I'm
[1:24:13] Speaker 3: a motherfucking drag. I'm fast and furious out this bitch.
[1:24:16] Speaker 3: This is what they doing now. This is play shit
[1:24:19] Speaker 3: for them. This ain't... If the people that drafted Giannis
[1:24:23] Speaker 3: and had the team that owned the team when Giannis was... Now,
[1:24:27] Speaker 3: this shit would be handled way different. Those people will
[1:24:32] Speaker 3: respect his wishes. Listen, you know what, man? You've done
[1:24:34] Speaker 3: so much for us, man. You brought us a championship,
[1:24:36] Speaker 3: did this. We're going to make sure you go land
[1:24:39] Speaker 3: on your feet here. It ain't that, unfortunately. For the
[1:24:43] Speaker 3: people of Milwaukee and for the fans, it ain't that, unfortunately.
[1:24:46] Speaker 1: Let me play devil's advocate here just because it seems
[1:24:48] Speaker 1: like everything is put on the bucks, but Giannis had
[1:24:51] Speaker 1: to have some understanding and knowledge of the moves that
[1:24:53] Speaker 1: were being made. He was cool with Budenhoser getting booted.
[1:24:57] Speaker 2: Listen.
[1:24:58] Speaker 1: He won a day. Listen, if.
[1:25:01] Speaker 4: You have a job, right? Your job is your job, right?
[1:25:04] Speaker 4: You're supposed to.
[1:25:05] Speaker 1: Be scout and talent. I have an opinion.
[1:25:10] Speaker 4: We played basketball in the summer together. We work well together.
[1:25:14] Speaker 4: I would like him on a team, right? You're supposed
[1:25:17] Speaker 4: to still do your research on if we actually fit
[1:25:20] Speaker 4: in the NBA game with the NBA coaches' plays. Because
[1:25:23] Speaker 4: the plays we did at the LA Fitness all summer,
[1:25:27] Speaker 4: that ain't part of our playbook.
[1:25:28] Speaker 1: But I do like them. We cool, right? That's my opinion.
[1:25:32] Speaker 4: Now you have to do your job. To see if
[1:25:36] Speaker 4: it all matches up. So you telling me come get
[1:25:41] Speaker 4: Dame and all that, we don't know. You know what
[1:25:44] Speaker 4: I mean? We don't know what it's going to look
[1:25:46] Speaker 4: like until you put it on the court.
[1:25:47] Speaker 1: Right?
[1:25:48] Speaker 4: That's how that works.
[1:25:50] Speaker 6: But Boone still got a top 75 dude to.
[1:25:52] Speaker 4: Come, though. But just like Dallas and Luka, right? It
[1:26:00] Speaker 4: was easy for that owner to get rid of him.
[1:26:03] Speaker 4: I don't know him. I have no relationship with him.
[1:26:08] Speaker 4: We never had lunch or dinner or none of this.
[1:26:11] Speaker 4: All I know is he's the hot shot. He's talking
[1:26:14] Speaker 4: back to me.
[1:26:15] Speaker 1: I don't like him.
[1:26:16] Speaker 4: Get him out of here.
[1:26:18] Speaker 2: All I hear is don't play defense.
[1:26:19] Speaker 1: He's fat. He's this. He's that.
[1:26:21] Speaker 2: He's an asshole.
[1:26:22] Speaker 1: But you know who his guy is? Cooper Flagg.
[1:26:26] Speaker 4: I drafted him.
[1:26:27] Speaker 1: That's my guy. Right? So that's how that works.
[1:26:31] Speaker 4: When you come into something, you're bringing your own people in.
[1:26:34] Speaker 4: You don't give a fuck about the other people. I
[1:26:36] Speaker 4: don't have no history with them. Right? So you're like, okay, yeah,
[1:26:40] Speaker 4: y'all built a little shit here.
[1:26:41] Speaker 1: Cool.
[1:26:41] Speaker 4: Let me get rid of them. Let me put my
[1:26:43] Speaker 4: two cents on it, and we're going to see what
[1:26:45] Speaker 4: I can do.
[1:26:45] Speaker 3: You're like, you can go to new teams, and they
[1:26:47] Speaker 3: can vouch for certain coaches. Hey, man, this guy has
[1:26:49] Speaker 3: a life where he's here.
[1:26:51] Speaker 4: Hey.
[1:26:52] Speaker 1: He's not my guy.
[1:26:54] Speaker 2: He's not my guy. He's not my guy, right?
[1:26:56] Speaker 3: Just like kids coming in to transfer a porter and
[1:26:59] Speaker 3: all that.
[1:26:59] Speaker 2: Hey, I ain't recruit you.
[1:27:01] Speaker 3: I ain't recruit you, so you feel free to follow him.
[1:27:06] Speaker 1: Follow your coach.
[1:27:08] Speaker 3: I didn't recruit you, so it's unfortunate. I'm going to
[1:27:12] Speaker 3: go get my guy. I'm going to go get my guy.
[1:27:13] Speaker 1: I'm going to go get my guy. Deion with his
[1:27:17] Speaker 1: son and the quarterback, right?
[1:27:18] Speaker 4: Oh.
[1:27:19] Speaker 1: They had a quarterback in Colorado when Deion took the job.
[1:27:22] Speaker 2: You know what he told him?
[1:27:23] Speaker 3: Hey, I'm bringing my Louie with me.
[1:27:27] Speaker 1: You got Louie. Right? I got Louie luggage. I'm bringing
[1:27:30] Speaker 1: my Louie with me.
[1:27:31] Speaker 2: Yep.
[1:27:31] Speaker 1: And that Louie wore number two when he played quarterback. So, hey,
[1:27:35] Speaker 1: you're nice. You've been here. Hit that portal.
[1:27:38] Speaker 2: I'm going to need you to get in that P, baby.
[1:27:41] Speaker 1: Quickly.
[1:27:42] Speaker 2: Right now.
[1:27:42] Speaker 1: Yeah. You ain't did it yet. Them spots is getting
[1:27:45] Speaker 1: filled up. I bet you don't. No, it's that, man.
[1:27:48] Speaker 2: It's unfortunate. But we are here.
[1:27:50] Speaker 1: So let's talk about now the future with the future
[1:27:52] Speaker 1: host for both sides. Obviously, like I said, Giannis' comments
[1:27:55] Speaker 1: have been very pointed at the Bucs for the bulk
[1:27:57] Speaker 1: of this season. Say it. Say it. What?
[1:28:00] Speaker 2: Say it.
[1:28:01] Speaker 1: No.
[1:28:01] Speaker 6: Say it.
[1:28:03] Speaker 4: No.
[1:28:03] Speaker 1: Lakers? No.
[1:28:04] Speaker 2: Say it.
[1:28:05] Speaker 1: Say it. Lakers?
[1:28:07] Speaker 2: Say it. Speak it.
[1:28:09] Speaker 4: Talk it.
[1:28:10] Speaker 1: Where he going? Right? Well, that's not the conversation we
[1:28:15] Speaker 1: need to have.
[1:28:15] Speaker 2: Sacramento.
[1:28:16] Speaker 1: It's Chauvin. So Sean's article, Bucks had the opportunity to
[1:28:20] Speaker 1: move Giannis for the deadline. Seriously considered to trade with
[1:28:24] Speaker 1: the Heat, which would have centered on Tyler Hero, I
[1:28:26] Speaker 1: believe is from Milwaukee, Khalil Ware, other players, multiple draft picks,
[1:28:29] Speaker 1: pick swaps. Seems like a very good offer. Owners should
[1:28:32] Speaker 1: believe the best move would be to hold on to
[1:28:34] Speaker 1: Giannis to receive better offers in the summer. Gil, like
[1:28:37] Speaker 1: you pointed out, not making that move with the deadline.
[1:28:39] Speaker 1: They want to hold on. He's eligible for an extension
[1:28:41] Speaker 1: in October, which will give a lot more insight into
[1:28:44] Speaker 1: what he wants to do.
[1:28:46] Speaker 4: But there's only a few teams that will have super
[1:28:51] Speaker 4: max money.
[1:28:54] Speaker 1: Do you know any of those teams off the top
[1:28:55] Speaker 1: of your head? One is the Lakers.
[1:28:57] Speaker 4: Oh.
[1:28:57] Speaker 1: The Lakers, okay.
[1:28:58] Speaker 4: Yeah, we got Supermax money because one, LeBron Supermax is
[1:29:02] Speaker 4: coming off, and Luka never signed a Supermax to replace LeBron.
[1:29:05] Speaker 3: And if you got to pick between Giannis and AR,
[1:29:07] Speaker 3: I think you pick Giannis.
[1:29:09] Speaker 4: You very well may be able to have both. I'm
[1:29:11] Speaker 4: going to pick Giannis. He's going to be in the Supermax,
[1:29:13] Speaker 4: and then, hey, LeBron, if you want to come back.
[1:29:16] Speaker 5: So AR is gone. AR is gone. Is LeBron gone?
[1:29:21] Speaker 2: So, so.
[1:29:22] Speaker 4: I think Brown took the page. No, so this is
[1:29:23] Speaker 4: how it works. So, it's like, kind of like, think
[1:29:26] Speaker 4: about like Golden State, right? When Curry signed.
[1:29:30] Speaker 1: That $ 64 million deal, right?
[1:29:32] Speaker 4: Then you had, which is your best player, but because
[1:29:35] Speaker 4: of his ankles, they got him to sign this deal before,
[1:29:39] Speaker 4: I think he signed it in October, before that season
[1:29:42] Speaker 4: started with the healthy ankle.
[1:29:43] Speaker 1: Before for 44 something, right?
[1:29:44] Speaker 4: So, he signed that deal. Then Steph becomes Steph and
[1:29:48] Speaker 4: Golden State becomes Golden State. KD's up. they have no
[1:29:52] Speaker 4: max player under contract. So they're the only ones that
[1:29:56] Speaker 4: can actually go out there and give him that money, right,
[1:29:59] Speaker 4: without doing anything to their team. So here you have
[1:30:02] Speaker 4: $ 50 million a year coming off with LeBron, right?
[1:30:06] Speaker 1: Six. Huh? 56. 56.
[1:30:09] Speaker 4: Then with Luka, Luka getting traded, not hitting super max,
[1:30:14] Speaker 4: he don't replace LeBron with the 50, right? So he
[1:30:18] Speaker 4: falls under, like, option two. So he's like Jalen Brown.
[1:30:22] Speaker 4: With no Tatum money, right? So now we have... Brown
[1:30:25] Speaker 4: signed Supermax already.
[1:30:27] Speaker 1: Huh? Brown and Tatum both are Supermax. That's something tripping, right? No,
[1:30:29] Speaker 1: he's like.
[1:30:29] Speaker 4: Brown is like a little bit under.
[1:30:31] Speaker 2: I thought they signed for $ 300. I thought they went
[1:30:33] Speaker 2: back to back. Back to back. Brown signed his first.
[1:30:36] Speaker 2: It was $ 300.
[1:30:36] Speaker 1: $ 300.
[1:30:36] Speaker 4: And then Tatum did what?
[1:30:39] Speaker 1: Supermax. But it was the next year, so the bread
[1:30:40] Speaker 1: went on.
[1:30:41] Speaker 4: Yeah, so when you look at AR, you're like, oh, wait,
[1:30:45] Speaker 4: hold on. I got AR money and LeBron's money free.
[1:30:49] Speaker 4: I can give LeBron's money.
[1:30:51] Speaker 1: Yeah.
[1:30:51] Speaker 4: To Giannis. Then I can say, hey, Bron, look, we
[1:30:55] Speaker 4: got Giannis and Luka.
[1:30:56] Speaker 1: We want you as the third option.
[1:30:58] Speaker 4: You want to take this AR $ 20, $ 30 million a year?
[1:31:02] Speaker 1: And I can then now have all three of them.
[1:31:04] Speaker 4: With the same money.
[1:31:05] Speaker 1: If Bron comes off the books, I think AR has
[1:31:07] Speaker 1: like a $ 27, $ 28 million cap hold on them right now.
[1:31:10] Speaker 1: So you take those two numbers out. So that's $ 78
[1:31:13] Speaker 1: million a year. But what do you trade through the
[1:31:15] Speaker 1: bucks to get, Giannis? I got Bronny Jr.
[1:31:17] Speaker 4: He's going to get the jerseys in there. One thing,
[1:31:23] Speaker 4: we don't really have no real good assets unless they
[1:31:26] Speaker 4: want to take Rui.
[1:31:29] Speaker 2: You got a few pieces.
[1:31:32] Speaker 3: It all depends on what they're doing. It depends on
[1:31:35] Speaker 3: what the Milwaukee Bucks are trying to do.
[1:31:38] Speaker 4: What are you trying to do?
[1:31:40] Speaker 1: Giannis can force the Bucks' hand on me.
[1:31:42] Speaker 2: I'm opting out next year.
[1:31:46] Speaker 1: You keep me on this team, I'm not gonna sign
[1:31:48] Speaker 1: an extension with any other team you trade me to.
[1:31:50] Speaker 1: But now? You know what I would do if I'm
[1:31:53] Speaker 1: the owner? Do it.
[1:31:56] Speaker 2: Call it bluff.
[1:31:57] Speaker 1: Do it. Like, I never understand signing trades.
[1:32:01] Speaker 4: I've never understood.
[1:32:02] Speaker 1: Like, as the player, yeah, sign and trade me.
[1:32:06] Speaker 4: Like, give me your max money and trade me to
[1:32:08] Speaker 4: the destination I want.
[1:32:10] Speaker 1: That's us.
[1:32:11] Speaker 4: As the organization... You really believe that I get six-year, 127-year,
[1:32:19] Speaker 4: and I'm going to go five-year, 95-year? You really think
[1:32:23] Speaker 4: I'm that dumb?
[1:32:24] Speaker 1: No, no, no, no, no.
[1:32:28] Speaker 6: I will let you walk.
[1:32:29] Speaker 1: Go out there and sign.
[1:32:30] Speaker 4: It, big man. If you want to go there, it's
[1:32:35] Speaker 4: going to cost you $ 30, $ 40 million. And owners never
[1:32:41] Speaker 4: did that. Owners always did the sign and trade because
[1:32:44] Speaker 4: they want pieces back. And it's like, when LeBron and
[1:32:49] Speaker 4: Bosh did their deal, I would have said, all right,
[1:32:51] Speaker 4: both of y'all go. Let me see it. Let me
[1:32:53] Speaker 4: see y'all both take $ 85 million each.
[1:32:56] Speaker 1: Yeah, you're not doing that.
[1:32:58] Speaker 4: I'm not going to sign you to my max to
[1:33:01] Speaker 4: then trade you to get some pieces back.
[1:33:03] Speaker 1: But is that bad business for an organization then? Because
[1:33:05] Speaker 1: now other people are looking at that. It's like, why
[1:33:07] Speaker 1: do I want to come play here and get did like?
[1:33:09] Speaker 2: You're like, well, you left.
[1:33:10] Speaker 1: All right. You left. You opted out. You opted out.
[1:33:15] Speaker 1: You was free to go do whatever you wanted to do.
[1:33:18] Speaker 4: So it's part of the game, but you're giving the
[1:33:21] Speaker 4: player everything he wants if you're going to sign and
[1:33:23] Speaker 4: trade him because you're scared to just lose him for nothing.
[1:33:27] Speaker 6: Skip, what do you think?
[1:33:27] Speaker 5: Okay, so you can afford to pay Giannis, but you
[1:33:32] Speaker 5: can't pay for Giannis because you don't have enough to
[1:33:34] Speaker 5: pay for him as in assets, as in draft picks
[1:33:40] Speaker 5: that would be the kind that Milwaukee would say yes to.
[1:33:45] Speaker 4: Yeah, we the opposite of Draymond Green in that skit.
[1:33:48] Speaker 4: We got $ 100 million cash. We don't need the assets.
[1:33:51] Speaker 1: We got it liquid.
[1:33:52] Speaker 4: Oh, y'all didn't see it?
[1:33:53] Speaker 1: I did watch AD's show. Who has $ 100 million liquid?
[1:33:57] Speaker 1: We do.
[1:33:57] Speaker 4: Because we can pay him cash.
[1:33:58] Speaker 1: We don't got no assets to give him.
[1:34:00] Speaker 4: Right? It's one of those things where it's like if
[1:34:06] Speaker 4: we got to trade pieces, And you really like you
[1:34:10] Speaker 4: can pick.
[1:34:12] Speaker 1: You can pick.
[1:34:13] Speaker 4: I mean, I'm just going to tell you, it's not
[1:34:15] Speaker 4: what you want over here.
[1:34:16] Speaker 1: I don't know if I got anything that excites you
[1:34:18] Speaker 1: over here.
[1:34:19] Speaker 6: You got to bring in another team.
[1:34:20] Speaker 1: Huh?
[1:34:21] Speaker 2: You got to bring in another team.
[1:34:22] Speaker 4: Yeah, unless we bring in, you know, a team and,
[1:34:24] Speaker 4: you know, it's.
[1:34:25] Speaker 6: Because Milwaukee not finished. Yeah, because this damn show. But
[1:34:27] Speaker 6: Milwaukee ain't just getting. Like anything, like they're going to
[1:34:30] Speaker 6: get something back. But the problem is there's only a
[1:34:32] Speaker 6: few teams. You think so? They don't know what they're doing.
[1:34:35] Speaker 6: I mean, okay, so what you said.
[1:34:36] Speaker 2: If they knew what they're doing, they wouldn't have this
[1:34:38] Speaker 2: situation this way.
[1:34:39] Speaker 6: So you said there's three teams, right? I mean, there's
[1:34:41] Speaker 6: only a couple teams that got the Supermax.
[1:34:42] Speaker 1: Lakers, who else?
[1:34:44] Speaker 2: Knicks?
[1:34:45] Speaker 1: No. Who? Oh, no, no, no. Yes. Brooklyn.
[1:34:48] Speaker 4: No, no, because Brunson gave them a friendly deal.
[1:34:52] Speaker 1: Philly, too.
[1:34:53] Speaker 4: You can come off the couch. Philly took a lot
[1:34:56] Speaker 4: of what MB's new contract.
[1:34:59] Speaker 2: What, the 180?
[1:35:00] Speaker 4: Yeah, he didn't sign the supermax. Yeah, he signed under
[1:35:03] Speaker 4: that supermax.
[1:35:04] Speaker 2: But it was an extension on that.
[1:35:06] Speaker 1: Yeah. Was it?
[1:35:07] Speaker 2: Yeah, he signed for 180. It was three for 180,
[1:35:10] Speaker 2: so he took it.
[1:35:11] Speaker 1: So let me look briefly, just a brief survey.
[1:35:14] Speaker 2: It was three for 180.
[1:35:15] Speaker 1: So Clippers would have the bread. Okay. Brooklyn. Washington.
[1:35:21] Speaker 4: I think Hawks potentially.
[1:35:24] Speaker 1: Bulls. Bulls? You said Bulls? Yeah, Nets. Potentially Grizzlies, Jazz, Bulls, Pistons.
[1:35:34] Speaker 4: He's going right down the street.
[1:35:37] Speaker 1: Chicago?
[1:35:38] Speaker 4: He's going right down the street. What I do know
[1:35:40] Speaker 4: about Giannis, and he sees it, he's very in tune
[1:35:46] Speaker 4: with how everything works. Nike contract, Disney. He knows him,
[1:35:52] Speaker 4: his brand, in a big market is booming business. He
[1:35:57] Speaker 4: knows that shoe contract.
[1:35:59] Speaker 1: Chicago, for sure, with them colors.
[1:36:01] Speaker 4: He's going to want to land in L.A., New York,
[1:36:04] Speaker 4: or Chicago for sure.
[1:36:07] Speaker 2: Not Brooklyn?
[1:36:08] Speaker 1: Yeah, Brooklyn.
[1:36:11] Speaker 6: But Chicago with those colors, though?
[1:36:13] Speaker 2: I dig it.
[1:36:14] Speaker 5: Are you sure you would get MVP Giannis at age
[1:36:18] Speaker 5: 31 after 13 NBA years and three or four other
[1:36:23] Speaker 5: pro years before that? You sure you're going to get him?
[1:36:26] Speaker 5: He hadn't won an MVP since 2020, so it's been
[1:36:29] Speaker 5: six years. You sure you're going to get the finals
[1:36:32] Speaker 5: MVP in 21? Will he be that guy for you immediately?
[1:36:37] Speaker 1: Yes, I believe so.
[1:36:38] Speaker 2: Motivation.
[1:36:39] Speaker 5: 14th NBA season.
[1:36:40] Speaker 6: Motivation.
[1:36:43] Speaker 2: He cut from a different cloth. But I also say this.
[1:36:47] Speaker 3: We said on this couch, he has to change the
[1:36:51] Speaker 3: way he plays or he's going to continually get hurt.
[1:36:56] Speaker 1: True.
[1:36:57] Speaker 2: He will continuously.
[1:36:58] Speaker 3: Have the bump knees, the roll ankles. That will continue
[1:37:03] Speaker 3: to happen if he doesn't change how he plays to
[1:37:07] Speaker 3: a half-court, more controlled environment.
[1:37:12] Speaker 6: That's why we're saying he's got to change his game.
[1:37:15] Speaker 6: If you get that jump shot or whatever, it's just
[1:37:18] Speaker 6: something easier. You ain't got to.
[1:37:19] Speaker 1: Do all that.
[1:37:21] Speaker 3: All right, post up, put him on the blog, man.
[1:37:23] Speaker 3: He's too gifted, man, too strong, too athletic.
[1:37:27] Speaker 4: I don't know what MVP or finals MVP, what he
[1:37:33] Speaker 4: was doing. But these last six years for him to
[1:37:35] Speaker 4: lose it, we know who he's losing it to. We
[1:37:37] Speaker 4: know what they're doing. But, yeah, I don't mind taking
[1:37:41] Speaker 4: this 30 and 11 every year he bringing.
[1:37:44] Speaker 1: I don't mind that. I'll take that. If he brings
[1:37:46] Speaker 1: 60 from the field.
[1:37:48] Speaker 6: If he brings.
[1:37:49] Speaker 4: This, I'm going to be happy with it.
[1:37:52] Speaker 1: It don't have to be MVP. But if it's not
[1:37:55] Speaker 1: 30 and 11.
[1:37:57] Speaker 6: Do you think he'll have less injuries if he plays
[1:37:58] Speaker 6: with another superstar? It doesn't have to do as much
[1:38:01] Speaker 6: as he has to do now. So maybe he won't
[1:38:03] Speaker 6: have to change as much. Just having somebody else like,
[1:38:07] Speaker 6: you know.
[1:38:08] Speaker 2: He won't have a choice, I don't think.
[1:38:09] Speaker 4: It depends on who he's with.
[1:38:10] Speaker 2: It depends on how the other person plays.
[1:38:13] Speaker 6: With the Lakers.
[1:38:14] Speaker 1: With Luka.
[1:38:16] Speaker 4: With Luka?
[1:38:17] Speaker 6: Does he have to change his game?
[1:38:18] Speaker 1: With Luka, he... No.
[1:38:21] Speaker 4: He don't have to change his game, but he might
[1:38:23] Speaker 4: benefit from having Luka on his team. Because Luka gets
[1:38:27] Speaker 4: hit and gets fouled. and that will save him from
[1:38:32] Speaker 4: getting hit and fouled.
[1:38:34] Speaker 1: Right? People don't understand that is a very important thing. Right?
[1:38:39] Speaker 4: Like, let's say I have somebody like Brunson, right? For
[1:38:43] Speaker 4: Brunson to really be dangerous, that penalty has to take effect, too.
[1:38:48] Speaker 4: But I don't want him to get hit seven times
[1:38:51] Speaker 4: to then get to the penalty. So I would need
[1:38:53] Speaker 4: someone to take off the hits night after night after night.
[1:38:56] Speaker 4: So I need another crash dummy that can take, you're
[1:38:59] Speaker 4: going to take it like having a Corey Maggette on your.
[1:39:01] Speaker 1: Team, right? Oh my God. Right?
[1:39:02] Speaker 6: Oh my, you're going to leave?
[1:39:03] Speaker 1: What's his number?
[1:39:04] Speaker 4: What's his number? Ellen Brand is sitting there like, yeah,
[1:39:07] Speaker 4: all right, yeah, go ahead, get them hits. Now give
[1:39:09] Speaker 4: me the ball. Now you have to play me straight
[1:39:12] Speaker 4: up or I'm going to shoot free throws, right? And
[1:39:14] Speaker 4: I don't think people really calculate that. Mm-hmm. into someone's game.
[1:39:19] Speaker 4: And if Giannis can get with someone else who's going
[1:39:22] Speaker 4: to take hits away from him, he's.
[1:39:25] Speaker 1: Going to last longer.
[1:39:27] Speaker 4: Because now I can sit here and do all this.
[1:39:30] Speaker 4: You foul me, I get.
[1:39:30] Speaker 1: To walk to the free throw.
[1:39:34] Speaker 2: Line.
[1:39:34] Speaker 4: That's why LeBron James gets to sit at the three-point
[1:39:36] Speaker 4: line and he don't have to do no heavy lifting.
[1:39:39] Speaker 4: And then once they get in the penalty, that's when
[1:39:41] Speaker 4: he becomes a train. I'm just going to come in.
[1:39:48] Speaker 1: I'm going to do all that.
[1:39:49] Speaker 6: So if he goes to Chicago, I'm going to go.
[1:39:53] Speaker 1: Yeah, he's got to do all that.
[1:39:54] Speaker 6: Same boat.
[1:39:54] Speaker 2: He'll have to average 33 next year.
[1:39:56] Speaker 1: Okay.
[1:39:59] Speaker 2: He'll be back in the MVP conversation.
[1:40:00] Speaker 1: He'll go there because he'll have to average 33 and 14.
[1:40:03] Speaker 4: What about the Knicks? Knicks for Cat, I mean, it
[1:40:05] Speaker 4: depends on if they keep for Cat. You got to
[1:40:08] Speaker 4: go somewhere they got pieces in place, man. If he's
[1:40:10] Speaker 4: trying to.
[1:40:10] Speaker 3: Compete and win and be able to do less, He
[1:40:15] Speaker 3: needs shooters and better pieces around him, right? And where
[1:40:20] Speaker 3: that will be, we don't know because I think things
[1:40:22] Speaker 3: are going to change this summer with all the movement
[1:40:24] Speaker 3: and all the tanking and the draft picks and people
[1:40:27] Speaker 3: trying to go get top fives because they think they're
[1:40:29] Speaker 3: going to be able to get A.J. You don't know
[1:40:35] Speaker 3: right now on what it's going to look like for A.J.
[1:40:38] Speaker 6: So this summer is all about Giannis? You know, every
[1:40:43] Speaker 6: summer is somebody, right? Every summer, it's that where they're going.
[1:40:46] Speaker 6: Is it Giannis this summer?
[1:40:48] Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, yeah. No, no, no. Especially now. What's funny
[1:40:52] Speaker 4: is July 1st, everything's going to be frozen for a
[1:40:55] Speaker 4: little bit.
[1:40:55] Speaker 1: Everybody's going to be waiting to see.
[1:40:57] Speaker 4: Yeah, I need my cap space. I need to adjust
[1:41:00] Speaker 4: because I need to make some moves.
[1:41:01] Speaker 6: All right, Giannis.
[1:41:05] Speaker 4: Whoever's going to trade for Giannis, if you don't have
[1:41:07] Speaker 4: the pieces, there's only one There's only one team that
[1:41:12] Speaker 4: has a bunch of potential players that are usable, that
[1:41:19] Speaker 4: are agile. That is Houston. Houston has a jam log
[1:41:23] Speaker 4: in the same type of position. which is 3-4-5, 2-3-1,
[1:41:28] Speaker 4: whatever this 6-9 to 6-11 is of these athletes that
[1:41:32] Speaker 4: I got.
[1:41:32] Speaker 2: Go ahead, what you thinking? Go ahead, what you thinking?
[1:41:37] Speaker 4: Let me hear it.
[1:41:38] Speaker 1: No, nothing.
[1:41:39] Speaker 4: So when I'm making, if I'm the Lakers and I'm
[1:41:41] Speaker 4: trying to make a trade, I want to add Houston
[1:41:44] Speaker 4: into it where I can use some of that talent
[1:41:48] Speaker 4: mix it in, and say, here you go, because they
[1:41:51] Speaker 4: have a bunch of 6'11.
[1:41:52] Speaker 1: 6'10, type of guys that.
[1:41:55] Speaker 4: Are wing players that I'm going to need to run
[1:41:57] Speaker 4: up and down.
[1:41:58] Speaker 1: Right?
[1:41:59] Speaker 4: I need to draft my guard. I need to drive, like,
[1:42:03] Speaker 4: I need to, whatever these guards, the DPs, the A-Cuffs,
[1:42:07] Speaker 4: and McHale, I'm trying to get one of them. If
[1:42:10] Speaker 4: I can get one of them as my guard, and
[1:42:12] Speaker 4: then I can get Jabari Smith or whatever that's jumping
[1:42:16] Speaker 4: out the gym a little bit, cool.
[1:42:18] Speaker 6: I'm good.
[1:42:18] Speaker 4: I'm good on that. So that's the only way. Like,
[1:42:21] Speaker 4: there's only a few teams that are, they got a
[1:42:24] Speaker 4: lot of, they got a lot of, they've been having
[1:42:25] Speaker 4: a lot of raw pieces for a day, and they're
[1:42:27] Speaker 4: like six years now trying to figure out, you know,
[1:42:30] Speaker 4: what they got over there.
[1:42:33] Speaker 3: They're keeping some jumpers, I can tell you that. They're
[1:42:35] Speaker 3: getting after them. Would you trade Al P for Giannis
[1:42:39] Speaker 3: if you used him? Would you throw Al P in there?
[1:42:42] Speaker 1: Yes, unfortunately.
[1:42:45] Speaker 2: I would as well. I wouldn't defend.
[1:42:50] Speaker 4: And one of my kids. Which one you want?
[1:42:53] Speaker 2: Thompson and Al P?
[1:42:55] Speaker 6: Hmm.
[1:42:59] Speaker 4: Whew. The reason I will lean with yes because I
[1:43:05] Speaker 4: will be scared to have Giannis and Amen on the
[1:43:09] Speaker 4: court at the same time. I better have nothing but
[1:43:11] Speaker 4: shooters at that point. So if they ask for him,
[1:43:14] Speaker 4: it'll probably take me 48 hours to think about it,
[1:43:17] Speaker 4: but I will probably lean yes, not wanting to do it,
[1:43:21] Speaker 4: but I'm going to take the chance to have KD
[1:43:22] Speaker 4: and Giannis. And you can get a guard. And then
[1:43:25] Speaker 4: I can go find someone. I wouldn't be happy with
[1:43:28] Speaker 4: getting rid of Amen because It's just something he brings
[1:43:32] Speaker 4: that just, it's just different. Like, we've seen a play
[1:43:36] Speaker 4: where he dove to the basket, then at the free
[1:43:40] Speaker 4: throw line, he just jumped off the wrong leg and just, like,
[1:43:44] Speaker 4: you can't mimic that. Like, I can sit with him
[1:43:47] Speaker 4: all summer, give him a jump shot. I can't get.
[1:43:51] Speaker 1: Someone who can fly just off any leg. Yeah.
[1:43:58] Speaker 4: And if I'm coaching this summer, if I'm in the
[1:44:01] Speaker 4: coach this summer, it's like, hey, listen, what I need
[1:44:03] Speaker 4: you to do is this summer, we're going to go
[1:44:08] Speaker 4: 300 makes a day, twice a day, first 30, 40
[1:44:11] Speaker 4: days into this offseason. One thing I need you to
[1:44:15] Speaker 4: do to take the next level to superstardom is I
[1:44:20] Speaker 4: need you to have a jump shot. Because if you
[1:44:23] Speaker 4: have a jump shot and they have to guard you
[1:44:25] Speaker 4: out here, there's no one that's going to stop you there.
[1:44:28] Speaker 4: But if half the defense is already sitting at the
[1:44:31] Speaker 4: free throw line and you're still jumping over them, wait
[1:44:33] Speaker 4: until they have to guard you at the.
[1:44:35] Speaker 1: Three-point line or half court.
[1:44:37] Speaker 4: So I would spend all summer trying to get 70,000
[1:44:39] Speaker 4: to 100,000 shots in that arm. Yeah, I don't care
[1:44:44] Speaker 4: about no arms tendonitis, none of that. You're going to
[1:44:47] Speaker 4: get a jump shot, goddammit.
[1:44:48] Speaker 2: Yeah, don't touch the rim, brother.
[1:44:50] Speaker 1: You're going to get a jump shot. That's the one
[1:44:51] Speaker 1: thing you're going to get.
[1:44:52] Speaker 3: Hey, before my senior year at Cincinnati, bro, like, hey,
[1:44:55] Speaker 3: I don't think I dunked a basketball one time.
[1:44:58] Speaker 6: That's what you do.
[1:44:58] Speaker 1: You're going to be on the rim all season. Hey,
[1:45:01] Speaker 1: I didn't touch the rim, right? What I need to
[1:45:04] Speaker 1: do that for, I do that well, right? But I
[1:45:06] Speaker 1: need to work on this. So, young fella, hey, lock
[1:45:11] Speaker 1: in that gym, brother. Lock in.
[1:45:13] Speaker 4: I've seen Jason Richardson go from a guy, everybody's sitting
[1:45:17] Speaker 4: in the lane, he's about to tomahawk, double dunk on us,
[1:45:21] Speaker 4: and then he sat on the shooting machine all summer
[1:45:24] Speaker 4: long to then become a three-point threat.
[1:45:28] Speaker 1: Now you've got to guard him out here. Now he's
[1:45:29] Speaker 1: back doing double pumping on you.
[1:45:31] Speaker 5: Man, after 13 years, you think all of a sudden
[1:45:34] Speaker 5: you just... flip the switch and you got a jump shot.
[1:45:37] Speaker 4: Who, Rihanna? I'm talking about Thompson.
[1:45:39] Speaker 6: Oh, I mean, Rondo, J-Kid.
[1:45:43] Speaker 1: No, later.
[1:45:44] Speaker 2: It was long.
[1:45:46] Speaker 4: J-Kid was over a long, it took a long time.
[1:45:51] Speaker 1: It was a lot of reps, bro.
[1:45:52] Speaker 6: But I'm just saying, for the finals, I mean, it
[1:45:55] Speaker 6: was not getting, I'm just saying, so.
[1:45:58] Speaker 4: But it wasn't like a, it's like, you got to
[1:46:00] Speaker 4: do that. You're so, listen, you look at his stats.
[1:46:05] Speaker 4: I've been top three. It's more ego than anything. I've
[1:46:09] Speaker 4: been top three the last seven years. I'm one of
[1:46:13] Speaker 4: the best players in the world doing this. The best
[1:46:17] Speaker 4: players get better this way.
[1:46:19] Speaker 2: 31, 30.
[1:46:20] Speaker 4: But me sitting in the gym just shooting random jump
[1:46:22] Speaker 4: shots like, you know what I mean?
[1:46:25] Speaker 1: Dialing it in like that, you have.
[1:46:27] Speaker 4: To do that early in your career.
[1:46:28] Speaker 6: So you don't think you can do it now?
[1:46:31] Speaker 1: He can.
[1:46:32] Speaker 2: He needs to.
[1:46:33] Speaker 1: He needs to the last long. He needs to.
[1:46:36] Speaker 6: But that's what I'm saying.
[1:46:37] Speaker 1: That's the part of getting better.
[1:46:39] Speaker 6: Everybody, I feel like if you're great, even the great ones,
[1:46:42] Speaker 6: Kobe Bryant, they still got LeBron.
[1:46:44] Speaker 1: They still got Michael Jordan.
[1:46:46] Speaker 6: They still got better. You still took it to the
[1:46:49] Speaker 6: next level. As much as your ego is what it is,
[1:46:52] Speaker 6: you still was like, I got to get better. Mike
[1:46:55] Speaker 6: came back. Everybody.
[1:46:57] Speaker 2: Just say if it's not the jump shot though, right?
[1:46:59] Speaker 4: Okay.
[1:46:59] Speaker 2: A post game.
[1:47:00] Speaker 1: Right? Free throws?
[1:47:02] Speaker 2: Free throws in a post game, right?
[1:47:04] Speaker 1: That changes.
[1:47:05] Speaker 2: That changes. If it's not the jump shot, get on
[1:47:07] Speaker 2: that block, man.
[1:47:08] Speaker 1: I'm going to keep saying it until he fucking does it, right?
[1:47:12] Speaker 1: Because I believe that he could be dominant on that block.
[1:47:18] Speaker 1: You don't get your ass on that block and don't
[1:47:23] Speaker 1: deviate from it, man. These guys, they don't know how
[1:47:27] Speaker 1: to play post defense these days. He will get every
[1:47:32] Speaker 1: shot he wants in the half court if he just–
[1:47:36] Speaker 1: Two moves. Catch it.
[1:47:38] Speaker 4: Turn.
[1:47:39] Speaker 1: Sweep through. Dunk. I mean– Turn. Sweep through. Then cut
[1:47:43] Speaker 1: it off. Spin. Dunk.
[1:47:44] Speaker 2: Then come back, you can half spin, jump hook.
[1:47:47] Speaker 1: Hey, half spin, boom, boom, half spin, jump hook.
[1:47:49] Speaker 6: You don't want to go to like the Lakers, right,
[1:47:51] Speaker 6: and play with Luka, and now you're the number two option.
[1:47:57] Speaker 1: But your number two option still might be 31-12.
[1:47:59] Speaker 4: He rolled it in the last three.
[1:48:03] Speaker 6: Yeah, but you just said, like, ego, right? I've been
[1:48:06] Speaker 6: the MVP. I've been the MVP twice. I've been finals MVP.
[1:48:09] Speaker 6: And it's like, okay, well, yeah, that was then. But, okay,
[1:48:12] Speaker 6: if your ego is still, I don't want to get better.
[1:48:14] Speaker 6: I don't want to work on this.
[1:48:15] Speaker 1: Then you're going to come to this team and be
[1:48:17] Speaker 1: the second option.
[1:48:18] Speaker 2: And then how is that?
[1:48:20] Speaker 6: Ego going to hit that?
[1:48:20] Speaker 2: But you're second.
[1:48:22] Speaker 1: I mean, but I've been number one doing this my
[1:48:24] Speaker 1: whole time.
[1:48:25] Speaker 6: Like, you don't want to be number one.
[1:48:26] Speaker 3: You think it's going to be a one and a two?
[1:48:28] Speaker 3: If that happens, you think it's going to be one-two?
[1:48:32] Speaker 3: I don't think it's going to be 1-2. Luka just
[1:48:33] Speaker 3: got the ball. I don't think it's 1-2 in that situation.
[1:48:35] Speaker 6: In that finals?
[1:48:36] Speaker 2: I think it's 1-A and 1-B.
[1:48:37] Speaker 6: I mean, in that finals, I mean, in that finals,
[1:48:39] Speaker 6: it's going to count.
[1:48:40] Speaker 1: 1-A and 1-B.
[1:48:41] Speaker 6: No, it's going to be the Kobe Bryant and Shaq situation.
[1:48:43] Speaker 2: 1-A, 1-B.
[1:48:45] Speaker 4: Yeah.
[1:48:46] Speaker 6: So who's willing? I mean, we already know.
[1:48:49] Speaker 1: You can have 45 one night and I can have 38.
[1:48:51] Speaker 1: Or the night, you can have 35 and I can
[1:48:55] Speaker 1: have 32. It doesn't.
[1:48:57] Speaker 4: Luka's going to win the MVP. The reason Luka's going
[1:49:00] Speaker 4: to win the MVP is because What Giannis don't do
[1:49:03] Speaker 4: that Luka does very well is he's the one that's
[1:49:06] Speaker 4: going to be passing the ball. So you might have 40...
[1:49:10] Speaker 4: That's 12, 14 assists, giving it to you. Plus, I'm
[1:49:13] Speaker 4: going to have my 37 points anyway. And I'm going
[1:49:15] Speaker 4: to have, like, eight, nine rebounds.
[1:49:16] Speaker 1: You know what I mean?
[1:49:16] Speaker 4: So that's how it's going to look. B, him doing
[1:49:18] Speaker 4: the pick and roll?
[1:49:19] Speaker 6: No, no, I'm rolling.
[1:49:21] Speaker 1: I'm rolling.
[1:49:21] Speaker 6: I'm just saying, at the end of your career, you
[1:49:23] Speaker 6: know how we always talk about, you know how we
[1:49:25] Speaker 6: brung up the Kobe in his first couple years? He
[1:49:27] Speaker 6: was number two, and then, you know.
[1:49:29] Speaker 4: But that's because that's the beginning of it. But they've
[1:49:33] Speaker 4: already had their career first. I remember Kobe was getting stunted.
[1:49:37] Speaker 4: He was getting stunted and.
[1:49:38] Speaker 1: He was like, no, y'all, hold on, no, no, no.
[1:49:40] Speaker 6: I'm dangerous.
[1:49:42] Speaker 4: What are y'all talking about Scottie Pippen? Scottie Pippen ain't
[1:49:44] Speaker 4: averaging 28. You know what I mean? And that's what
[1:49:46] Speaker 4: it was. You know what I mean? Because remember, when
[1:49:49] Speaker 4: they started using that, who he was playing in the playoffs?
[1:49:52] Speaker 1: Scottie Pippen. Oh, they look like they playing.
[1:49:55] Speaker 4: And that's what they were doing then. So he had
[1:49:58] Speaker 4: to branch off just like Kyrie had to branch off.
[1:50:01] Speaker 4: Giannis is like, I did it by myself. Right? Now
[1:50:04] Speaker 4: I want to win three, four more. How are we
[1:50:06] Speaker 4: going to do this?
[1:50:07] Speaker 3: And I think him and Luke in that pick and
[1:50:08] Speaker 3: roll is dangerous. He'll lob, threat, steal. He'll do all
[1:50:12] Speaker 3: the stuff that DeAndre won't do. Roll all the way
[1:50:15] Speaker 3: to the rim. Like, stand in the goddamn pocket. Like,
[1:50:19] Speaker 3: throw it to me now, damn it. I wish I
[1:50:22] Speaker 3: had a dunker when I play, boy. He probably wouldn't
[1:50:26] Speaker 3: have got the ball because I didn't know how to
[1:50:28] Speaker 3: throw lobs. But the fact that he's doing that and
[1:50:30] Speaker 3: the defense is adjusting.
[1:50:33] Speaker 1: Mo shooting for me. All right. Let's keep this thing
[1:50:35] Speaker 1: moving to our final topic of the day. Oh, shit.
[1:50:38] Speaker 1: Talk about the younger generation. So entering Friday, Concanipple was
[1:50:42] Speaker 1: the betting favorite to win rookie of the year over
[1:50:44] Speaker 1: his former college teammate and roommate Cooper Flagg. But Flagg
[1:50:47] Speaker 1: came through with a historic weekend to flip the odds
[1:50:49] Speaker 1: back in his favor. Let's take a look at some
[1:50:51] Speaker 1: of the highlights if we can, please. So it started
[1:50:53] Speaker 1: Friday night. Flagg put up a career-high 51 points on
[1:50:57] Speaker 1: the Magic, becoming the first teenager in NBA history to
[1:51:01] Speaker 1: drop a 50-piece and just the ninth rookie ever to
[1:51:04] Speaker 1: accomplish the feat. Also the first since our very own Mr. B,
[1:51:09] Speaker 1: who had 55 and three quarters against the Warriors back
[1:51:12] Speaker 1: in 2009. He also passed you as the youngest player
[1:51:14] Speaker 1: in NBA history to drop a 50. You only played
[1:51:16] Speaker 1: two quarters? Yeah. He played four quarters, but I don't
[1:51:18] Speaker 1: think he scored in the first quarter if I'm not mistaken. Oh,
[1:51:20] Speaker 1: so you got shut out in the first quarter?
[1:51:21] Speaker 2: No, it's just, you know.
[1:51:22] Speaker 1: I went 0 for 5 in the first quarter, dog,
[1:51:24] Speaker 1: and I scored 55.
[1:51:24] Speaker 6: Jesus.
[1:51:25] Speaker 1: Getting his rhythm.
[1:51:26] Speaker 6: So you scored.
[1:51:27] Speaker 4: 55 in the game at three quarters? Second through fourth quarter.
[1:51:30] Speaker 1: No, three quarters means you only played three quarters. Okay. Technically, yeah.
[1:51:34] Speaker 1: Scott Scal says, get your game.
[1:51:36] Speaker 8: He was just out there the first. He was just
[1:51:38] Speaker 8: out there. Just running around. Just throwing us 55. 51
[1:51:40] Speaker 8: against the Magic. He was 19 for 30 from the field.
[1:51:44] Speaker 8: Six for nine from... three in the game.
[1:51:46] Speaker 1: Followed that up with 45 points, nine assists, and eight
[1:51:48] Speaker 1: rebounds on 14 to 27 shooting against the Los Angeles Lakers.
[1:51:53] Speaker 1: Flagg and Braun became the first team and player over
[1:51:56] Speaker 1: 40 years old to both score 20 or more points
[1:51:58] Speaker 1: in a game, with both players doing that in the
[1:52:01] Speaker 1: first half. Flagg is the first rookie since Allen Iverson
[1:52:04] Speaker 1: with 40 plus points in back-to-back games. So his 96
[1:52:08] Speaker 1: points in a two-game span is the second most by
[1:52:10] Speaker 1: a rookie in league history. Behind Wilt, he has four
[1:52:13] Speaker 1: 40-point games this season. No rookie had had a 40-point
[1:52:16] Speaker 1: game until Jeremiah Fears did that with his 40-piece, I think,
[1:52:20] Speaker 1: Tuesday night. So after the win over the Lakers, Flagg
[1:52:24] Speaker 1: was asked what statement he made over the weekend in
[1:52:26] Speaker 1: the Rookie of the Year race.
[1:52:28] Speaker 7: I think it's definitely some sort of statement, but it
[1:52:31] Speaker 7: just goes back to what I said. I'm confident in myself,
[1:52:34] Speaker 7: and I know what I'm capable of, and I'll just
[1:52:37] Speaker 7: let the rest of the stuff figure itself out.
[1:52:41] Speaker 1: The main event, ladies and gentlemen. Yeah. So Flagg followed
[1:52:44] Speaker 1: up his big scoring weekend with 25 points, nine rebounds,
[1:52:47] Speaker 1: and a loss to the Clippers Tuesday. Now let's take
[1:52:49] Speaker 1: a look at the updated Rookie of the Year prediction
[1:52:52] Speaker 1: odds over on Underdog, if we can, please. Flagg, I
[1:52:57] Speaker 1: believe 71%. You see how it was trending previously. And
[1:53:01] Speaker 1: it will drop down to 33%.
[1:53:02] Speaker 9: Mm-hmm.
[1:53:02] Speaker 1: This dude.
[1:53:05] Speaker 2: Leading the league threes made, man. This shit, like, this is.
[1:53:09] Speaker 1: It's.
[1:53:11] Speaker 2: A tough race.
[1:53:13] Speaker 1: Um... The human race.
[1:53:15] Speaker 2: I think it should be one. I'd go back to this.
[1:53:18] Speaker 1: It's a business.
[1:53:21] Speaker 2: Go one each conference, man. Just go one each conference, man.
[1:53:24] Speaker 1: Skip, we'll start with you. I see you wearing the
[1:53:27] Speaker 1: Dallas Cowboys hat. This is a Dallas-related topic. Did Cooper
[1:53:30] Speaker 1: Flagg lock up the rookie of the year this weekend?
[1:53:35] Speaker 5: Yeah, he did for the wrong reasons. And I still
[1:53:38] Speaker 5: think Conn Knipple should be the rookie of the year. Look,
[1:53:43] Speaker 5: is Cooper Flagg a better player than Conn Knipple will
[1:53:46] Speaker 5: ever be?
[1:53:47] Speaker 1: Yes.
[1:53:48] Speaker 5: But who had the more valuable rookie year, to your
[1:53:52] Speaker 5: point I think you were about to make? Conn Knipple did.
[1:53:57] Speaker 5: Leading the league in threes made. 43% from three. And
[1:54:02] Speaker 5: he's not the best player on Charlotte's team, but he's
[1:54:05] Speaker 5: the catalyst because he's doing things nobody thought he could
[1:54:09] Speaker 5: do this quickly. He's the fourth overall pick, and I
[1:54:12] Speaker 5: just shrugged when they picked him, like, come on, seriously?
[1:54:15] Speaker 5: But I've been watching this team because I have to
[1:54:19] Speaker 5: watch this team because since late January, they've been the
[1:54:24] Speaker 5: second hottest team in basketball and the biggest surprise in
[1:54:28] Speaker 5: the NBA since January. They have caught real live fire,
[1:54:33] Speaker 5: albeit in the Eastern Conference. And Khan's averaging 19 a game.
[1:54:40] Speaker 5: Cooper is 21. So it's 21 to 19. But speaking
[1:54:44] Speaker 5: of three-point shooting, Cooper Flagg is dead last in the
[1:54:48] Speaker 5: NBA in three-point shooting. So I got to factor that in.
[1:54:52] Speaker 5: But beyond that, I got to factor in that when
[1:54:56] Speaker 5: he exploded against your Lakers last, what was it, Sunday,
[1:55:01] Speaker 5: that was the first game they had won in 15
[1:55:05] Speaker 5: games at home. They had lost 14 straight at home.
[1:55:08] Speaker 5: And now Dallas has lost 28 of its last 34 games,
[1:55:12] Speaker 5: 28 of its last 34. So one team is crazy
[1:55:15] Speaker 5: hot and one team is just playing it out with
[1:55:20] Speaker 5: Najee Marshall as their second best scorer. And all I
[1:55:24] Speaker 5: know is Con Canipa was the favorite Until three games ago.
[1:55:29] Speaker 5: And three games ago, Cooper Flagg was averaging 15 shots
[1:55:32] Speaker 5: a game. In the last three, he has taken 30 shots,
[1:55:38] Speaker 5: 27 shots, and 25 shots. So all of a sudden,
[1:55:41] Speaker 5: with nothing to play for except garbage time points, he
[1:55:45] Speaker 5: is just garbaged out. And he's really good. But we
[1:55:50] Speaker 5: knew he was really good. At least I think I
[1:55:52] Speaker 5: knew he was really good.
[1:55:53] Speaker 6: He just is.
[1:55:54] Speaker 5: He can do all that. And he exploded. for all
[1:55:58] Speaker 5: these points late and stole MVP. And I'm sure he's
[1:56:02] Speaker 5: gonna win it now because the public loves to see
[1:56:06] Speaker 5: 51s and 45s and 30s and wow, oh, okay. But
[1:56:11] Speaker 5: Conn Knipple has shown you, he's a basketball player who
[1:56:16] Speaker 5: does a lot of little big things for Charlotte. And
[1:56:21] Speaker 5: he's not just a catch and shoot three point shooter.
[1:56:24] Speaker 5: He can create his own shot. and he can make
[1:56:28] Speaker 5: mid-range jump shots. He's really good, and he helped solidify
[1:56:32] Speaker 5: and make a team that obviously is focused around Lomelo
[1:56:36] Speaker 5: and Brandon Miller and Bridges. They're really good, and they're
[1:56:41] Speaker 5: going to get a whole lot better fast, and they're
[1:56:45] Speaker 5: going to be a problem for somebody in the postseason,
[1:56:48] Speaker 5: in large part because Con Canipa is playing way beyond
[1:56:51] Speaker 5: his years as a rookie. So in impact, he deserves
[1:56:56] Speaker 5: Rookie of the Year. And Cooper Flagg has been really good,
[1:57:02] Speaker 5: but only great late when it didn't really matter.
[1:57:08] Speaker 1: Shintaro, do you agree, disagree? Okay.
[1:57:14] Speaker 4: Stats is one thing, and then reality is the other.
[1:57:19] Speaker 4: One is a third, fourth option on his team, right?
[1:57:22] Speaker 1: Fourth?
[1:57:24] Speaker 4: Which means no one's paying attention to you, no one's
[1:57:27] Speaker 4: guarding you, right? So your shots are very high volume shots.
[1:57:34] Speaker 4: So you should shoot 40 something percent.
[1:57:37] Speaker 1: Can you play that video again? This is the difference between.
[1:57:42] Speaker 6: Number two and number one.
[1:57:45] Speaker 4: Number one, the reason his shooting is gonna be off
[1:57:49] Speaker 4: because He has to– this is what he has to do.
[1:57:53] Speaker 4: He is the lamello ball on the team. He has
[1:57:55] Speaker 4: to create everything. He has to drive. He has to
[1:57:58] Speaker 4: create the offense. He is being guarded. When you're going
[1:58:01] Speaker 4: against Dallas, you're trying to guard this.
[1:58:04] Speaker 5: Okay, but everybody beats that.
[1:58:06] Speaker 4: No, no, no.
[1:58:07] Speaker 1: I can beat it now because they're still young, but.
[1:58:10] Speaker 4: These are the plays I have to make. If you
[1:58:14] Speaker 4: just set Cooper Flagg in the corner to shoot jumpers,
[1:58:18] Speaker 4: he's going to be a great three-point shooter. But he
[1:58:20] Speaker 4: has to do step back, step back, coming off the
[1:58:22] Speaker 4: pick and roll while somebody's guarding him.
[1:58:25] Speaker 1: That's the difference between his shooting percentage.
[1:58:28] Speaker 4: In caniples right miss a lot of so yeah but
[1:58:32] Speaker 4: he is the number one he's bringing this is what
[1:58:34] Speaker 4: he is doing this is his game right versus option
[1:58:38] Speaker 4: four right he's going to have three or four people
[1:58:41] Speaker 4: loading up on him and he has to make moves
[1:58:43] Speaker 4: like that so when you're talking about impact his impact
[1:58:48] Speaker 4: is is a lot different because he's the star player
[1:58:52] Speaker 4: that someone's trying to guard um When it comes to
[1:58:56] Speaker 4: just the business of basketball, it doesn't look like the
[1:59:01] Speaker 4: future is headed in the right way if you give
[1:59:04] Speaker 4: it to a fourth option player.
[1:59:06] Speaker 5: That's true. Clearly, Cooper is just better.
[1:59:09] Speaker 1: He's better.
[1:59:10] Speaker 5: But he hasn't had a better year. He hasn't had
[1:59:13] Speaker 5: more value than Con Canipolis had for the team.
[1:59:17] Speaker 4: But the value is coming from who rolled was harder.
[1:59:25] Speaker 4: That is, like, the road is, these roads are very different.
[1:59:30] Speaker 4: One is smooth sailing. Just, hey, just hit the open
[1:59:32] Speaker 4: shots when you're, you know what, you don't have to
[1:59:34] Speaker 4: worry about the double team. We got that under control.
[1:59:37] Speaker 4: When the other one is being doubled and triple teamed,
[1:59:39] Speaker 4: because he is only the best player on the team.
[1:59:41] Speaker 4: So the roads are very different, right? They're playing a
[1:59:45] Speaker 4: very different battle of games, right? If you're saying is, is.
[1:59:51] Speaker 4: Canimple important to that team?
[1:59:53] Speaker 2: Hell yeah.
[1:59:55] Speaker 4: If this is what you're doing as a fourth option,
[1:59:57] Speaker 4: hell yes. Now, if Canimple had his own team, will
[2:00:02] Speaker 4: he be great? I think so. I've seen him in college.
[2:00:06] Speaker 4: To be honest, I went to the Arizona. I thought
[2:00:09] Speaker 4: he was more aggressive than Cooper Flagg was. It took
[2:00:13] Speaker 4: me a while to really see what Cooper actually did.
[2:00:17] Speaker 4: And I was like, okay, he plays hard. Is he
[2:00:20] Speaker 4: just a catch and shoot? What does he do? Knipple
[2:00:23] Speaker 4: always got it. He started doing his own thing. So
[2:00:26] Speaker 4: I know he has it in him, but he didn't
[2:00:28] Speaker 4: have to display it this year. So I'm going to
[2:00:32] Speaker 4: always go with the guy who rode was a little harder,
[2:00:35] Speaker 4: and by far.
[2:00:37] Speaker 5: Okay, but just three games ago, Khan was the favorite
[2:00:42] Speaker 5: until Cooper took 30 shots a game for three straight games.
[2:00:45] Speaker 5: That's what happened.
[2:00:47] Speaker 4: Yeah, just like, you know, Wimby was the favorite. You know,
[2:00:50] Speaker 4: I'm just throwing shit out here. Tom was the betting
[2:00:53] Speaker 4: odd favorite.
[2:00:54] Speaker 1: Begging for the money is really not the rookie ladder.
[2:00:57] Speaker 4: Yeah, I'm just throwing it out here to make y'all
[2:00:59] Speaker 4: jump at it.
[2:01:00] Speaker 1: I know who I'm giving my trophy to. I'm sorry.
[2:01:03] Speaker 1: I know who the trophy's going to. You know what
[2:01:06] Speaker 1: I mean?
[2:01:06] Speaker 4: It's just one of those things where it just, as
[2:01:11] Speaker 4: a product, it looks a lot better.
[2:01:14] Speaker 1: If Cooper flagged. It does.
[2:01:16] Speaker 6: I agree.
[2:01:17] Speaker 4: Versus someone who's not the star of the team right now.
[2:01:20] Speaker 2: Yeah.
[2:01:21] Speaker 6: No, for sure. I mean, for me, man, I want
[2:01:23] Speaker 6: to shout out, first of all, you know, Cooper Flagg
[2:01:26] Speaker 6: breaking the record, you know, youngest ever. I've always been
[2:01:29] Speaker 6: a fan of him since he was at Curry Camp
[2:01:32] Speaker 6: in high school, but also just him coming into the league,
[2:01:35] Speaker 6: being able to play for a point guard like Jason Kidd, right?
[2:01:39] Speaker 6: You're playing for a top five point guard who has
[2:01:42] Speaker 6: the craziest mind, insane mind of basketball IQ I've ever seen.
[2:01:46] Speaker 6: ever been around and the fact that your first year
[2:01:49] Speaker 6: is with him and you can have the freedom to
[2:01:51] Speaker 6: be able to make mistakes and do whatever you want.
[2:01:55] Speaker 6: I'm just happy for him. I mean, I got my
[2:01:58] Speaker 6: new balances on. These are new balances.
[2:02:00] Speaker 1: Did you rock your new balances today for Cooper Flagg?
[2:02:03] Speaker 1: I mean, yeah.
[2:02:03] Speaker 6: I knew we were going to talk about the Cooper
[2:02:04] Speaker 6: Flagg and I wanted to give him a shout out
[2:02:06] Speaker 6: for breaking the record.
[2:02:07] Speaker 1: So no animosity for him bumping you out as the
[2:02:10] Speaker 1: youngest player to drop?
[2:02:11] Speaker 6: No, not at all.
[2:02:12] Speaker 4: You're second youngest.
[2:02:13] Speaker 6: Yeah, yeah, I'm the second, but he also, but also
[2:02:16] Speaker 6: who he's around, though, too. Like, Jason Kidd. Like, Jason
[2:02:18] Speaker 6: Kidd knows everything that's going around. Like, he knows who
[2:02:21] Speaker 6: he has. Like, he put him at the one position.
[2:02:23] Speaker 6: At first, it was, you know, it was hard for him.
[2:02:26] Speaker 6: It was a little adversity, but it's going to help
[2:02:28] Speaker 6: him down the line. I mean, you saw what happened
[2:02:30] Speaker 6: with Giannis. Like, with him, now he's taking the ball.
[2:02:32] Speaker 6: And all it's going to do is help this kid.
[2:02:34] Speaker 6: This kid is going to be on the Olympic team
[2:02:36] Speaker 6: in 2028, I feel. In Los Angeles. Yeah, in Los Angeles.
[2:02:41] Speaker 6: I just feel like just off this, 50-point game and
[2:02:44] Speaker 6: what he's going to be able to keep doing, he's
[2:02:45] Speaker 6: definitely going to be on the team. And the sky's
[2:02:47] Speaker 6: just the limit for him.
[2:02:48] Speaker 1: Wait a minute. What was the record? Brandon James is
[2:02:52] Speaker 1: the youngest player in the NBA history to drop 50
[2:02:54] Speaker 1: points in a game.
[2:02:55] Speaker 4: But he didn't drop it.
[2:02:56] Speaker 6: He dropped 55.
[2:02:56] Speaker 1: 50-plus points. See, you watered down. No, no, you're good.
[2:03:03] Speaker 1: Don't water down the five points, man. You got to
[2:03:06] Speaker 1: do that.
[2:03:07] Speaker 4: It was the youngest to have 55 points.
[2:03:10] Speaker 8: So, Mr. B, you are still the youngest player in
[2:03:12] Speaker 8: the industry to drop 55-plus points. He's the youngest to
[2:03:16] Speaker 8: drop 50. Different award. I like it.
[2:03:18] Speaker 1: They created an award.
[2:03:21] Speaker 4: Hey, Chad, please stop saying this is like Melo.
[2:03:26] Speaker 1: Stop.
[2:03:27] Speaker 4: Melo was the star of his team. He was the
[2:03:29] Speaker 4: number one option of his team.
[2:03:31] Speaker 1: All right. Melo had them in the playoffs. La Melo.
[2:03:37] Speaker 4: And the others have the men to play on. You
[2:03:40] Speaker 4: see how you say they are playing very well.
[2:03:42] Speaker 2: They're playing to play in.
[2:03:44] Speaker 4: Huh?
[2:03:44] Speaker 1: Nice play right now.
[2:03:45] Speaker 4: But I'm not going to.
[2:03:46] Speaker 1: No, no, no, no. They're riding fish grease and they're
[2:03:49] Speaker 1: still in the goddamn playing game, man.
[2:03:51] Speaker 4: But, like, I don't want you to compare these.
[2:03:53] Speaker 2: You know what I mean?
[2:03:54] Speaker 1: I don't like people comparing.
[2:03:55] Speaker 4: Like, Melo was the main guy on the team being
[2:03:58] Speaker 4: doubled and tripled.
[2:03:59] Speaker 1: Carmelo Anthony was the main guy.
[2:04:01] Speaker 4: This is not the main guy. He is the fourth
[2:04:04] Speaker 4: option on the team. Yes. He's doing his part.
[2:04:07] Speaker 1: Yes. To help them win games. He is open.
[2:04:11] Speaker 4: He's not the reason that they're winning games.
[2:04:14] Speaker 3: He is open as much as he is because he
[2:04:17] Speaker 3: is taking the fourth most.
[2:04:19] Speaker 2: Shots on the team.
[2:04:20] Speaker 1: He's Rui for the Lakers. So. He's Rui. Hit your shots.
[2:04:25] Speaker 4: Thank you. Appreciate you. Not the reason we're going to win.
[2:04:29] Speaker 1: But.
[2:04:31] Speaker 2: Still in the plan, though, King. You're still in the plan.
[2:04:33] Speaker 1: As you've pointed out. Yeah. I told you what spot
[2:04:36] Speaker 1: to get. You want me to give him credit and
[2:04:37] Speaker 1: get the guaranteed six. Six. Still got to play in.
[2:04:41] Speaker 1: Got a chance to get in there. I want them
[2:04:44] Speaker 1: to get to eight. I want them to get to eight.
[2:04:46] Speaker 1: I do.
[2:04:47] Speaker 3: I want them to finish eight so they can play
[2:04:49] Speaker 3: Detroit in the first round.
[2:04:50] Speaker 1: I want to see that shit. There's a potential. I
[2:04:53] Speaker 1: want to see them play in the first round.
[2:04:55] Speaker 4: I'm saying, but right now.
[2:04:57] Speaker 1: That might be the only exciting first round. I want
[2:04:59] Speaker 1: them to play.
[2:05:00] Speaker 8: Because I don't have a lot of first round.
[2:05:02] Speaker 1: I don't want that style. I do. But they have
[2:05:06] Speaker 1: the potential to jump up as high as six, seven.
[2:05:10] Speaker 1: Let them.
[2:05:10] Speaker 6: Listen, Charlotte don't want to see Boston.
[2:05:14] Speaker 3: I hope they get as high as well as they've
[2:05:19] Speaker 3: been playing, as well as the Charlotte Hornets have been playing.
[2:05:23] Speaker 3: I want them to get as high as they possibly can.
[2:05:26] Speaker 3: If that's getting to five, six, five, whatever it is,
[2:05:28] Speaker 3: get there. But as of right now, as I've been stating,
[2:05:32] Speaker 3: It's still in the play-in game, and I would love
[2:05:34] Speaker 3: for them to get to eight, right? If they get
[2:05:35] Speaker 3: to eight and they play Detroit because of what happened,
[2:05:37] Speaker 3: stay at eight.
[2:05:38] Speaker 1: Don't go to seven.
[2:05:38] Speaker 6: I want seven. No, you do not want Boston. I
[2:05:41] Speaker 6: just seen Boston play live in Milwaukee.
[2:05:44] Speaker 9: No.
[2:05:44] Speaker 1: No.
[2:05:45] Speaker 4: They're going to lose first round, right?
[2:05:48] Speaker 2: Either way it goes.
[2:05:49] Speaker 4: Which one is a more exciting look?
[2:05:52] Speaker 2: Detroit.
[2:05:52] Speaker 1: Them versus Boston.
[2:05:54] Speaker 4: That's going to be damn near 200 points.
[2:05:56] Speaker 1: No, Detroit. No, no, no. That might be 185 to 140.
[2:05:58] Speaker 4: Because it's just a bunch of three.
[2:06:00] Speaker 1: You just want to see this shit. Pow, pow, pow, pow, pow, pow, pow.
[2:06:03] Speaker 1: I want to see that. I want to see that. No, no, no.
[2:06:05] Speaker 1: Squabble up. It's going to be a blowout.
[2:06:07] Speaker 4: These two, like these two, they shoot 53s and this
[2:06:11] Speaker 4: team plays fast. This is what the NBA, when you
[2:06:14] Speaker 4: shoot 53s, this score is what we're supposed to see.
[2:06:18] Speaker 6: Boston play defense.
[2:06:19] Speaker 1: Right?
[2:06:19] Speaker 6: I've seen them a lot.
[2:06:20] Speaker 1: When it's Boston, you're going to go up and down.
[2:06:21] Speaker 1: You're going to chuck threes. They're going to play style
[2:06:23] Speaker 1: off the backboard.
[2:06:24] Speaker 2: Cool.
[2:06:24] Speaker 4: That grind it out is going to take away from
[2:06:27] Speaker 4: the show stopping we're trying to see.
[2:06:30] Speaker 1: All right, he's going to take away from the show.
[2:06:31] Speaker 1: I want to see.
[2:06:31] Speaker 4: If I want to see a team lose, lose throwing
[2:06:34] Speaker 4: the ball off the backboard, shooting from half court, pointing,
[2:06:37] Speaker 4: doing all that.
[2:06:37] Speaker 2: I want them to get to eight, man.
[2:06:38] Speaker 4: You know, shoot an arrow, shoot a couple people in
[2:06:40] Speaker 4: the stands.
[2:06:43] Speaker 1: And on that note. You know, but, you know, a
[2:06:45] Speaker 1: nice little fight. You know what I mean? Fist to cup.
[2:06:48] Speaker 4: As long as Cade comes back. If Cade comes back.
[2:06:50] Speaker 1: Cade coming back tonight, dude.
[2:06:51] Speaker 4: Tonight.
[2:06:52] Speaker 1: From the collapsed lung. Sweet.
[2:06:54] Speaker 2: All right, well, there we go.
[2:06:55] Speaker 6: Does he get the 65th?
[2:06:56] Speaker 1: I believe if he plays the next two games, he'll
[2:06:58] Speaker 1: beat 64, but there may be some wiggle room or
[2:07:00] Speaker 1: some negotiations that go on behind the scenes.
[2:07:03] Speaker 2: Let's see.
[2:07:04] Speaker 1: The light-skinned community will unite. We will unite. Is it
[2:07:07] Speaker 1: to give leeway or hoard?
[2:07:09] Speaker 4: 65!
[2:07:09] Speaker 1: Some exemption. 65!
[2:07:11] Speaker 3: If it's 64, dog, you can't do that, dog.
[2:07:15] Speaker 2: You can't do that to him.
[2:07:18] Speaker 4: No, no, the bad part is if it's 64 and
[2:07:23] Speaker 4: the person that gets picked over him is 65.
[2:07:25] Speaker 1: Right? It's 65 whose stats is just like, what? They
[2:07:29] Speaker 1: just try to do anything. Like, imagine averaging 33, 33, 9,
[2:07:32] Speaker 1: and 8.
[2:07:32] Speaker 4: Right?
[2:07:32] Speaker 1: And you got 64.
[2:07:32] Speaker 6: And then the person they put in is 21, 4.
[2:07:34] Speaker 1: And 3.
[2:07:34] Speaker 6: You'd be like, yeah.
[2:07:44] Speaker 1: The fuck out of here. Three games left. K very
[2:07:47] Speaker 1: well may hit the 64 game threshold. I think it
[2:07:49] Speaker 1: would only still be 63 because he only played like
[2:07:51] Speaker 1: five minutes in the game. He collapsed the lung, but
[2:07:53] Speaker 1: that's neither here nor there. I let the league and
[2:07:56] Speaker 1: the squares figure it out. But that's an injury. Yeah.
[2:07:59] Speaker 1: That's how it go. I don't make the rules. But
[2:08:00] Speaker 1: appreciate everybody in the chat. As always, appreciate everybody on
[2:08:03] Speaker 1: this couch. Kip, thank you for pulling up. You good today?
[2:08:06] Speaker 6: You had a good time today?
[2:08:07] Speaker 1: You had a good day?
