[0:00] Speaker 1: All right, but let's shift back to the Wizards real quick.
[0:03] Speaker 1: But before we do, everybody out there, let's make sure
[0:05] Speaker 1: we hit that like button and subscribe to this new
[0:08] Speaker 1: and approved Gills Arena. Appreciate that, Gil, for keeping us employed.
[0:13] Speaker 2: See, chat with it. Five days a week.
[0:15] Speaker 1: If you appreciate Gills Arena being on five days a week,
[0:18] Speaker 1: hit that like button for us. Also, we got mostly
[0:21] Speaker 1: fans at the end of the show, so drop your
[0:23] Speaker 1: Super Chat questions into the chat, and we will ask
[0:26] Speaker 1: them at the end of the show. All right, let's
[0:27] Speaker 1: talk about A.J. DeBansa quickly. We got the chance to
[0:31] Speaker 1: interview him before the draft. Said he was box office. Very,
[0:34] Speaker 1: very confident young man. Been number one player all the
[0:38] Speaker 1: way through high school, going into college, and now going
[0:40] Speaker 1: into the NBA. But he enters the league in a
[0:43] Speaker 1: unique situation as a number one overall pick with a
[0:47] Speaker 1: squad that looks poised to get out of the realm
[0:49] Speaker 1: of Eastern Conference bottom feeder to one with playoff hopes.
[0:52] Speaker 1: So DeMansa has an all-star guard in Trey Young who
[0:55] Speaker 1: loves to throw lobs.
[0:56] Speaker 2: We know that. Trey loves to put up dimes.
[0:58] Speaker 1: Veteran mentor with championship experience and former All-Star Chris Middleton,
[1:02] Speaker 1: also another champion with experience in Anthony Davis. And Chris Middleton,
[1:07] Speaker 1: you know, remains to be seen how much he's going
[1:08] Speaker 1: to play this season. I think just having somebody like that,
[1:11] Speaker 1: vet who can show you the ropes, get you right,
[1:14] Speaker 1: average 20 in the league before you go, I know
[1:15] Speaker 1: you're big on. taking advice from people who have done
[1:18] Speaker 1: things that you want to do and not people that
[1:19] Speaker 1: average six, seven points per game.
[1:21] Speaker 2: Very important.
[1:22] Speaker 1: So now looking at where he's at now, obviously Chris
[1:24] Speaker 1: Minson had a bunch of injuries in recent years, but
[1:26] Speaker 1: still out in the league doing it. But again, when
[1:28] Speaker 1: you look at AJ DeBensa, what are your expectations for
[1:31] Speaker 1: AJ DeBensa in his rookie season?
[1:33] Speaker 3: Um, just like history has shown, you know, um, number one,
[1:38] Speaker 3: number two picks that get into winning situations and they
[1:42] Speaker 3: get to actually play. It boosts their, um, Their resume
[1:47] Speaker 3: a lot higher than, you know, a number one, number
[1:51] Speaker 3: two seed that goes to a bottom feeding team. And
[1:54] Speaker 3: then they take on that losing for, you know, two,
[1:57] Speaker 3: three years. So he's going to he's going to be.
[2:05] Speaker 3: He's going to be in winning situations. this year that
[2:09] Speaker 3: he wouldn't have if he went to one of the
[2:11] Speaker 3: bottom feeding teams. You know, you got guys over there who,
[2:14] Speaker 3: who have won championships. You got guys who won playoff team, uh, playoff,
[2:18] Speaker 3: you know, rounds. You have, you have two guys that
[2:22] Speaker 3: actually had to carry teams, right? So they're going to
[2:26] Speaker 3: teach you how to be a superstar in this league.
[2:28] Speaker 3: They're going to teach you how to carry yourself. So
[2:31] Speaker 3: he's going to be, um, pushed into winning very early,
[2:37] Speaker 3: which is going to benefit them later. But, I think
[2:39] Speaker 3: he's going to come out and he's going to be
[2:41] Speaker 3: able to play very, very great basketball because he don't
[2:45] Speaker 3: really have the pressure as being the number one. He's
[2:49] Speaker 3: the number one pick. He don't have that pressure, though,
[2:52] Speaker 3: because you have two guys over there that still have.
[2:56] Speaker 2: Things that they have to prove to.
[3:00] Speaker 3: AD has to prove that he can be healthy and
[3:04] Speaker 3: he can continue his career on a path that should
[3:08] Speaker 3: have been And Trey Young, you know, with that chip
[3:11] Speaker 3: on his shoulder that he don't really get the credit
[3:12] Speaker 3: that he deserves. So those two guys want to win,
[3:16] Speaker 3: want to be healthy.
[3:17] Speaker 2: So A.J. gets the benefit of that. But do you
[3:19] Speaker 2: feel like A.D.
[3:20] Speaker 1: Now obviously got a player option next summer is coming
[3:23] Speaker 1: into this season thinking, I'm going to defer to.
[3:24] Speaker 2: I don't need to defer.
[3:26] Speaker 3: I just got to play basketball.
[3:26] Speaker 2: But who's going to be the future of the franchise?
[3:28] Speaker 1: I'm trying to get my 25 and 12.
[3:30] Speaker 3: And he would look goofy trying to get his 25
[3:32] Speaker 3: and 12 while losing with talent on your team. I don't.
[3:36] Speaker 3: I don't like it.
[3:37] Speaker 4: What?
[3:39] Speaker 5: I understand the winning aspect, but if I was... I
[3:43] Speaker 5: would like to get drafted into a team where I'm
[3:46] Speaker 5: the franchise guy. I get to make mistakes. I think
[3:50] Speaker 5: the best players learn from making their mistakes. Instead of
[3:54] Speaker 5: coming in and having to conform your game into... I
[3:59] Speaker 5: know he could do it because he's a good talent,
[4:02] Speaker 5: so he could be a spot-up guy. But I think
[4:05] Speaker 5: the best players, if you're having to somebody that could
[4:08] Speaker 5: change the game, you want him to be free and learn.
[4:11] Speaker 3: At first, you know?
[4:12] Speaker 4: He ain't ever going to be a spot-up guy.
[4:14] Speaker 6: He's going to have to with AD.
[4:16] Speaker 4: He can adapt and adjust. He'll be a slasher, maybe dunker.
[4:19] Speaker 3: That's what I'm saying.
[4:19] Speaker 4: Not spot-up.
[4:21] Speaker 5: But he ain't going to, I'm not saying all game,
[4:23] Speaker 5: but he could do it, but he got to do
[4:25] Speaker 5: some of that.
[4:25] Speaker 4: He will develop.
[4:27] Speaker 3: But I'd rather.
[4:29] Speaker 2: Rather go to a loser?
[4:30] Speaker 3: You'd rather be a loser? I'd rather be like you.
[4:32] Speaker 3: You see how this changes? I'd rather be LeBron.
[4:34] Speaker 2: You see how this changes?
[4:35] Speaker 3: I'd rather be LeBron. Would you rather be Caleb Wilson
[4:37] Speaker 3: with the Bulls? I'd rather be LeBron. I'd rather be LeBron.
[4:39] Speaker 3: I'd rather be LeBron.
[4:40] Speaker 2: Or A.J. DeBenson.
[4:41] Speaker 3: I'd rather be LeBron. Y'all cannot move the fucking goalposts.
[4:44] Speaker 3: That's what I was talking about. LeBron. Jordan. You learn.
[4:48] Speaker 3: They was on a losing ass team. And you learn.
[4:50] Speaker 3: From an individual standpoint. You learn all kinds of ways.
[4:53] Speaker 3: So what changes from being a rookie on a loser team,
[4:55] Speaker 3: getting numbers, or being a motherfucking fourth year in there?
[4:57] Speaker 4: You could do both.
[4:58] Speaker 1: Rookie of the year on an ass team, or do
[5:00] Speaker 1: you want to have a solid season?
[5:01] Speaker 3: Average of 30 on an ass team, I get talked about.
[5:03] Speaker 3: So what's the fucking difference? Either you on a sorry
[5:06] Speaker 3: team doing numbers, and they don't count. Cooper flag numbers
[5:11] Speaker 3: don't count? Yeah, this is learning.
[5:14] Speaker 4: There's a middle ground.
[5:16] Speaker 3: There's some shifting here. There's nothing wrong with what you're saying.
[5:21] Speaker 4: I understand what you're saying. There is– he has a
[5:25] Speaker 4: lot of– he still has room to grow. But I
[5:28] Speaker 4: think it's a better situation to be with guys that
[5:31] Speaker 4: won and are also good, like to have the talent.
[5:33] Speaker 4: He's not going to be double teamed as much. And
[5:35] Speaker 4: I'm not comparing him to like Dylan Harper. But, you know,
[5:37] Speaker 4: like Dylan Harper going into the Spurs where he can just–
[5:40] Speaker 4: He's not playing second unit, but he played against second unit, grew,
[5:44] Speaker 4: and became special. By playoff time come, he's ready.
[5:46] Speaker 2: For sure.
[5:47] Speaker 4: Somewhat more like Con Canipolo. He's not the first or
[5:50] Speaker 4: second option. He's third or fourth option. He can be
[5:52] Speaker 4: that with AD and Trey and still be more efficient
[5:56] Speaker 4: and still shine. They may not be the greatest, but
[5:58] Speaker 4: that's where Charlotte was.
[5:59] Speaker 3: They ended up playing.
[6:00] Speaker 4: He can do that and he can still grow. So
[6:03] Speaker 4: I think it's a great scenario for him. Like you
[6:04] Speaker 4: can learn from some vets. You have some champions. Learn
[6:07] Speaker 4: how to be a professional because that's what they need to,
[6:09] Speaker 4: first and foremost, in that atmosphere is learn how to
[6:12] Speaker 4: win and be a professional. And then, you know, learn
[6:16] Speaker 4: how to be an individual superstar at the same time.
[6:18] Speaker 4: You can do that on a team that is still
[6:20] Speaker 4: trying to be in the playoffs and not lose.
[6:23] Speaker 3: Okay, so how many years, you know what I mean,
[6:25] Speaker 3: since we've been moving a little bit, how many years
[6:28] Speaker 3: can you be a loser and get the numbers before
[6:32] Speaker 3: you have to be a winner?
[6:35] Speaker 5: I don't know. That's how you learn, I feel like,
[6:38] Speaker 5: the greats.
[6:39] Speaker 2: Yeah.
[6:40] Speaker 4: The greats also got people.
[6:43] Speaker 3: That came along. But that's what I'm saying. A great player, remember,
[6:48] Speaker 3: the greats usually are top five picks. They end up winning.
[6:53] Speaker 3: What franchises are they going to? Bottom feeding teams. Right?
[6:57] Speaker 3: So they start off losing.
[6:58] Speaker 2: And they win. Right?
[6:59] Speaker 3: And then... My question.
[7:01] Speaker 4: Players get at it. How was... When Melo got to Denver,
[7:06] Speaker 4: how did they look? What kind of pieces did they have?
[7:08] Speaker 4: Were they ass? No.
[7:09] Speaker 2: They're nuggets?
[7:10] Speaker 3: No, they had perfect pieces for Melo.
[7:13] Speaker 4: Okay, so he went into a similar situation where there's
[7:15] Speaker 4: some vets, some older... Like, he can groom... Still be good,
[7:18] Speaker 4: but not be the... He wasn't the main guy.
[7:20] Speaker 3: He became... No, he was.
[7:23] Speaker 4: Was AI there and Kmart?
[7:25] Speaker 2: No, no, no. I think Kmart.
[7:27] Speaker 3: Did Kmart come near that year? I think so.
[7:30] Speaker 4: Who else was there on that roster?
[7:31] Speaker 3: I think Melo was a year before Melo.
[7:33] Speaker 4: Because I feel like, you know, Bron went to a
[7:35] Speaker 4: terrible team. Like, not a good team. I feel like Melo...
[7:38] Speaker 4: This is a similar situation to me for him as, like,
[7:40] Speaker 4: Melo going to Denver.
[7:42] Speaker 3: Not... The team needed a guy who can just do
[7:48] Speaker 3: his own damn thing. It was more of a team.
[7:50] Speaker 3: It was more of a team that just didn't have
[7:53] Speaker 3: a superstar or someone who can put buckets in. It
[7:55] Speaker 3: was a perfect team for him to be successful because
[7:58] Speaker 3: it was like, just give the ball to him.
[7:59] Speaker 2: We'll play defense. We'll cut. We do that.
[8:02] Speaker 3: That's the kind of team that Melo jumped into.
[8:05] Speaker 1: Nuggets were 17-65 the season before they got Melo.
[8:08] Speaker 2: Drafted Melo.
[8:08] Speaker 1: Ended up going 43-39 that season. Lost in the first round.
[8:11] Speaker 1: I don't think the Wizards will make that Huge of
[8:13] Speaker 1: a jump. But that's what I'm saying. But the Mellow
[8:17] Speaker 1: team didn't.
[8:17] Speaker 3: Have a superstar. It's doable.
[8:18] Speaker 4: 43 games, doable.
[8:21] Speaker 2: Like, technically.
[8:22] Speaker 4: Who was on that team?
[8:22] Speaker 3: LeBron's team actually had more talent.
[8:26] Speaker 6: They just had.
[8:28] Speaker 5: They was just a bunch of guys.
[8:29] Speaker 4: Just delinquents.
[8:31] Speaker 3: Were you talking about just raw talent?
[8:33] Speaker 6: Buckets, yeah.
[8:34] Speaker 4: With Larry Hughes and.
[8:35] Speaker 3: No, no, no.
[8:35] Speaker 2: It was before Larry.
[8:36] Speaker 3: It was Ricky Davis.
[8:37] Speaker 2: Ricky Davis. Carlos Boozer.
[8:40] Speaker 6: Darius Miles.
[8:41] Speaker 2: Darius Miles.
[8:42] Speaker 3: Larry Hughes wasn't there?
[8:43] Speaker 6: Nah, he came after.
[8:45] Speaker 2: It was.
[8:48] Speaker 1: What? Was Andre Miller there? No, Larry was with us.
[8:52] Speaker 1: Andre Miller was with the Nuggets, I believe, when Melo
[8:54] Speaker 1: got there.
[8:54] Speaker 3: Yeah, okay. So, yeah. That's what I said. You had
[8:56] Speaker 3: a whole bunch of guys who knew how.
[8:57] Speaker 4: To play basketball. So, Andre was with Melo.
[8:59] Speaker 2: Yeah, they had a bunch of guys who knew how
[9:00] Speaker 2: to play basketball.
[9:01] Speaker 3: Vaughn.
[9:02] Speaker 6: Vaughn.
[9:03] Speaker 3: Rajon Leonard. They had great players. They didn't have a
[9:05] Speaker 3: superstar that can carry. Andre Miller?
[9:09] Speaker 2: Yeah. So, he got in. It's like, you're the superstar,
[9:12] Speaker 2: and we'll fix it.
[9:13] Speaker 4: I could see AJ jump into a situation like that.
[9:16] Speaker 4: But it's not as constructed for him like it was
[9:18] Speaker 4: for Melo in Washington.
[9:21] Speaker 3: I look at that team more of he's closer towards
[9:25] Speaker 3: not the Magic Johnson. Tim Duncan, he don't have that
[9:31] Speaker 3: team where they were already established. But he's like right
[9:34] Speaker 3: under there. He's like where Cooper Flagg came into until
[9:39] Speaker 3: they all split out.
[9:40] Speaker 4: So he can win.
[9:40] Speaker 2: Like if this team won 56 games, A.J.
[9:41] Speaker 3: Lives great. He's put in a great situation because from there,
[9:55] Speaker 3: they're just adding little pieces to the team to try
[9:58] Speaker 3: to get him over the top. So he'll have about
[10:00] Speaker 3: four or five years. It'll be like the Jason Tatum.
[10:04] Speaker 3: You're coming in and y'all are young, but we're winning.
[10:07] Speaker 3: We just got to keep tweaking a little bit and
[10:09] Speaker 3: y'all will be running to winning championships. So you'll look good.
[10:12] Speaker 4: I think they can get 43. That's a good goal
[10:14] Speaker 4: for them to get 43.
[10:14] Speaker 2: 17 to 40.
[10:15] Speaker 4: They can get.
[10:17] Speaker 4: He's 56 a lot. I think if they get 40 wins,
[10:19] Speaker 4: it'd be good.
[10:21] Speaker 3: More than 40?
[10:22] Speaker 4: I think they get 40.
[10:22] Speaker 1: And the question is asked just from an individual standpoint.
[10:24] Speaker 1: You as an individual, if you're A.J. DeBonson, because when
[10:26] Speaker 1: we talked to A.J. before the draft.
[10:28] Speaker 3: They're talking about me as an individual.
[10:29] Speaker 2: Individual. Now, you sacrificed.
[10:32] Speaker 3: No, he said it first, that he'd rather be on
[10:34] Speaker 3: a team where it's just him and he can learn.
[10:36] Speaker 3: But that's my point.
[10:37] Speaker 2: I can rock out.
[10:38] Speaker 3: Learn how to be great.
[10:39] Speaker 1: We might only win 17 games, but I can average 20,
[10:41] Speaker 1: 25 points per game, get that rookie of the year.
[10:42] Speaker 4: That still might happen.
[10:44] Speaker 3: I'm learning how to be... Thank you.
[10:46] Speaker 1: Or do I got to be on a team now
[10:47] Speaker 1: with two former All-Stars, one who's playing for a contract?
[10:50] Speaker 3: Listen, I'm going off of what history has shown us, right?
[10:55] Speaker 3: And there's only like a sprinkle of... There's a sprinkle
[10:58] Speaker 3: of players that went into situations that they were good.
[11:03] Speaker 2: They were good and they had a bad year.
[11:06] Speaker 3: Then they added this number one pick and then it
[11:09] Speaker 3: just took them over the top.
[11:09] Speaker 2: There's only been a few.
[11:11] Speaker 3: Other than that, your greatness goes to bottom-fitting teams. And
[11:14] Speaker 3: what makes them great is they get the individual stats early,
[11:18] Speaker 3: Because the ball is there, so they get to make
[11:20] Speaker 3: all the mistakes they want, and then they started building,
[11:22] Speaker 3: then they win the championships and going away.
[11:24] Speaker 4: Is this like an Ace Bailey question? Basically, like, would
[11:27] Speaker 4: he rather not go to certain teams?
[11:29] Speaker 3: Yes. And that's what Ace Bailey was trying to do.
[11:31] Speaker 3: I don't want to go to Utah. You already got
[11:33] Speaker 3: a superstar. Like, I go to Wizards. There's nobody over
[11:35] Speaker 3: at the Wizards.
[11:36] Speaker 1: I think with him coming into the Wizards, they know
[11:38] Speaker 1: that this is the future of our franchise. But Ace Bailey?
[11:41] Speaker 1: The Jazz didn't look at Ace Bailey. I'm not saying
[11:43] Speaker 1: the Jazz didn't look at Ace Bailey the same way.
[11:44] Speaker 1: But I know AJ coming in, number one overall pick.
[11:47] Speaker 4: That's what Ace was doing. That's why Ace was trying
[11:49] Speaker 4: to get there. He'd rather go to a team where
[11:52] Speaker 4: he can get his extension soon, where he can be featured.
[11:55] Speaker 3: I get the ball.
[11:56] Speaker 1: But I don't think Darren Peterson is going to get
[11:57] Speaker 1: treated the same way that Ace did, right?
[11:59] Speaker 3: It don't matter.
[12:00] Speaker 4: I don't think so, yeah.
[12:01] Speaker 2: He's coming in.
[12:03] Speaker 3: Do you want to, as a rookie, average 25 to
[12:08] Speaker 3: 30 possibly? Or do you want to be part of
[12:11] Speaker 3: a role?
[12:11] Speaker 1: Or average 17 and be on a team that's potentially
[12:13] Speaker 1: competing for a playoff? That's going to be the argument.
[12:15] Speaker 1: Do you want to be a loser or do you
[12:17] Speaker 1: want to be a winner?
[12:18] Speaker 4: Nick, which one do you feel like?
[12:19] Speaker 3: See, now you want to be a loser.
[12:20] Speaker 6: That's a loser mentality.
[12:22] Speaker 3: You only want to be a loser when it benefits you.
[12:25] Speaker 3: I get it, I get it. He's saying... I'm learning
[12:28] Speaker 3: how to be great. So, but... You can't have it
[12:29] Speaker 3: both ways.
[12:30] Speaker 2: When you talk.
[12:32] Speaker 3: You can't have it both ways. Who's your favorite player?
[12:34] Speaker 3: Because now you're arguing my point now. No, I'm not.
[12:38] Speaker 3: You're arguing my fucking point.
[12:39] Speaker 6: You're arguing MVP's over championships.
[12:41] Speaker 3: No, nigga, I'm arguing if I'm on a losing team.
[12:44] Speaker 3: All right, who's your favorite player? Hold on, so we
[12:47] Speaker 3: can understand. Hold on, so we can understand what you're saying.
[12:50] Speaker 3: What you're saying is if you're a rookie, you're a
[12:52] Speaker 3: number one pick. You would rather be on a losing
[12:56] Speaker 3: team so you can learn how to play and be
[12:58] Speaker 3: a winner versus going to a winning situation and be
[13:03] Speaker 3: part of a team winning. That's what you're saying now. No, no.
[13:07] Speaker 5: I'm saying if I'm trying to be the greatest, I'm
[13:11] Speaker 5: trying to learn how to play.
[13:13] Speaker 3: So he's arguing what we've been arguing the whole time.
[13:16] Speaker 3: Now it benefits him in the argument. He would rather
[13:19] Speaker 3: be on a bottom-feeding team coming in to get his numbers,
[13:23] Speaker 3: learn how to win. Hold on, let me finish. I'd
[13:25] Speaker 3: rather be Jordan and LeBron. Okay, so you would rather
[13:29] Speaker 3: be on a bottom... Learn how to be great. So
[13:31] Speaker 3: I would rather be on a bottom-feeding team, doing everything,
[13:34] Speaker 3: learning how to be great, then you add pieces on
[13:38] Speaker 3: that I can win versus coming into a winning situation.
[13:42] Speaker 2: And I win and I.
[13:44] Speaker 3: Be in the middle and a winner.
[13:46] Speaker 6: Hey, y'all, look what y'all did.
[13:48] Speaker 3: Right?
[13:48] Speaker 4: Ain't no right or wrong, man.
[13:49] Speaker 3: No, what I'm saying is, is that what you're saying?
[13:51] Speaker 6: No, I'm not saying nothing.
[13:53] Speaker 3: No, I'm just saying that's what you're saying. That's what
[13:55] Speaker 3: he's saying.
[13:55] Speaker 4: There's nothing wrong with that.
[13:56] Speaker 5: Nothing is wrong with that. No, he's trying to justify
[13:59] Speaker 5: his losing mentality.
[14:00] Speaker 3: No, but you're saying this is a losing mentality.
[14:05] Speaker 4: I think you can do both, though.
[14:06] Speaker 2: Danny, wait, wait, wait.
[14:07] Speaker 3: The mentality that Michael Jordan, every great player started from
[14:11] Speaker 3: the bottom, right? The first three, four years, they're just
[14:15] Speaker 3: getting numbers, learning how to play basketball, right? Aren't they?
[14:19] Speaker 3: Isn't that the losing mentality?
[14:20] Speaker 6: When did LeBron go to the finals?
[14:22] Speaker 3: If you chose that. But what I'm saying is that's
[14:25] Speaker 3: the situation.
[14:26] Speaker 4: They didn't choose to be that.
[14:28] Speaker 2: Like we're talking about, there's other situations.
[14:30] Speaker 1: Again, not apples to apples, but you're looking like a
[14:32] Speaker 1: Tim Duncan or a Magic who's coming into a winning situation.
[14:34] Speaker 1: I just said that that's a different situation.
[14:35] Speaker 3: He don't want that situation. This is the guy who
[14:37] Speaker 3: talks about championship. Yes, I want to be LeBron and George.
[14:40] Speaker 1: But I don't know if AJ is a Magic or
[14:41] Speaker 1: a Tim Duncan level in terms of doing that.
[14:44] Speaker 3: Are you listening to... The conversation he's had, the conversation
[14:48] Speaker 3: that every great player, every player who didn't win a championship, right?
[14:54] Speaker 3: They're not good enough. The scenario is what Patrick Ewing
[14:58] Speaker 3: went through, what Barkley went through, what AI went through.
[15:01] Speaker 3: Those guys are losers if they don't win a championship
[15:05] Speaker 3: because it wasn't built, but they had the numbers. So
[15:07] Speaker 3: he wants to pick the ones that actually had a championship,
[15:11] Speaker 3: but the losing mentality is... Has to still be the
[15:13] Speaker 3: loser mentality. You're on a bottom-feeding team. You're just getting
[15:17] Speaker 3: your numbers. No, I'm making them great. For a rookie season, though.
[15:19] Speaker 1: I don't think for an entire career. I don't want
[15:21] Speaker 1: to be on an ass team for my whole career.
[15:23] Speaker 3: Yeah, this is a loser. I don't get to pick that.
[15:26] Speaker 6: You're a loser that scored the ball.
[15:28] Speaker 3: A loser that scored the ball. That's all you are.
[15:29] Speaker 3: A loser that scored the ball.
[15:31] Speaker 2: Okay, so what.
[15:31] Speaker 3: Would LeBron have been before he jumped and won a championship?
[15:34] Speaker 3: A loser that just scored the ball? No, no. Are
[15:37] Speaker 3: we picking our fights accurately? No. What are you talking about?
[15:40] Speaker 3: You're a loser that's winning. I end up winning. End
[15:44] Speaker 3: up winning. So you're saying I will rather take the
[15:46] Speaker 3: loser route to then win. That's what you're saying. You're
[15:51] Speaker 3: no different than everybody else. They just don't get the ring,
[15:54] Speaker 3: but they're called a loser for their career. I get
[15:56] Speaker 3: what you're saying.
[15:56] Speaker 6: I get what you're saying.
[15:58] Speaker 3: Yeah. But this is the argument we've been saying. No.
[16:01] Speaker 3: He's been on the championships.
[16:03] Speaker 6: Win or die.
[16:03] Speaker 3: He's got to win. You got to win. I get it.
[16:06] Speaker 4: It kind of contradicts what you're saying.
[16:08] Speaker 3: Yes, he's contradicting himself now.
[16:10] Speaker 2: A little bit.
[16:11] Speaker 3: Oh, you're saying because I don't come in winning right away?
[16:14] Speaker 5: Yes. My talent will get me there. I want to
[16:19] Speaker 5: learn like Jordan and LeBron. I don't want nobody to
[16:22] Speaker 5: stop my talent from being the greatest.
[16:25] Speaker 3: I'm winning. I'm not scoring the ball and losing. What
[16:27] Speaker 3: are you talking about?
[16:28] Speaker 4: You're saying you're contradicting yourself because you chose that route.
[16:31] Speaker 3: It's no different than everybody y'all want to laugh at
[16:34] Speaker 3: that says y'all didn't win. It's the same route. They
[16:37] Speaker 3: are number one, number two picks. They're being drafted to
[16:41] Speaker 3: a bottom-feeding team. They're playing and trying to win. They're
[16:46] Speaker 3: trying to win. If you don't put nobody on my
[16:49] Speaker 3: team to win with me, I got to keep doing
[16:52] Speaker 3: what I got to keep doing.
[16:53] Speaker 6: Right?
[16:53] Speaker 3: It's not like I'm picking my team. You blame everybody
[16:56] Speaker 3: else around you. I'm not picking my team. That's what
[16:58] Speaker 3: you're saying.
[16:58] Speaker 2: Right?
[16:58] Speaker 3: So you're saying you're picking the same road as everybody else.
[17:01] Speaker 3: You don't want to take the Magic Johnson road. You
[17:03] Speaker 3: don't want to take the road that has you winning early,
[17:06] Speaker 3: and you don't get your numbers.
[17:07] Speaker 6: I'm picking the same route as LeBron James.
[17:09] Speaker 3: You don't want to pick the same. That's what I'm saying.
[17:11] Speaker 3: But you want to say you're the winner, but you
[17:13] Speaker 3: don't want to take the road that wins early.
[17:14] Speaker 5: I'm picking the same road as LeBron James. Of course
[17:18] Speaker 5: you are.
[17:18] Speaker 4: But you already understand what he's saying, though.
[17:21] Speaker 6: No, he's talking about people that never win.
[17:23] Speaker 3: No.
[17:23] Speaker 4: No, he's just saying you're kind of... Because you always
[17:26] Speaker 4: fought for winning.
[17:27] Speaker 3: Mm-hmm.
[17:29] Speaker 4: Like, every conversation, every debate, every argument. This one is
[17:32] Speaker 4: kind of a little bit... Not a lot, but slightly.
[17:34] Speaker 3: Slightly. Slightly.
[17:37] Speaker 4: Contradiction. There's nothing wrong with it, though, Nick.
[17:40] Speaker 3: If LeBron ends up going to the finals in the third, yes.
[17:43] Speaker 3: If you win, then you get... If you win, you
[17:47] Speaker 3: then become the great. So, Nick, look. If Charles Barkley,
[17:52] Speaker 3: who got drafted where he got drafted, they are losing
[17:55] Speaker 3: like shit.
[17:55] Speaker 2: Well, he came into a winning situation.
[17:56] Speaker 3: You lose it like shit, and then if you eventually win,
[17:59] Speaker 3: you get to be one of the great greats. Nobody
[18:02] Speaker 3: says Patrick Ewing, you don't have a ring.
[18:05] Speaker 4: They don't get to do that to you no more they.
[18:07] Speaker 3: Don't get to do that to Iverson because they end
[18:09] Speaker 3: up getting the ring but they all started the same
[18:12] Speaker 3: way there's only a few people there's only a.
[18:14] Speaker 4: Few that didn't start this is the question so without
[18:18] Speaker 4: knowing the future you can't just say oh well like
[18:20] Speaker 4: Lebron because we don't know where AJ is going to
[18:22] Speaker 4: go from here you have no idea what your career
[18:25] Speaker 4: is going to be whether you you want to know
[18:26] Speaker 4: if you're going to win a ring or you're not
[18:27] Speaker 4: going to win a ring which path do you choose
[18:30] Speaker 4: with the risk of not ever winning.
[18:33] Speaker 6: If I'm going to AJ or who.
[18:35] Speaker 4: Yeah, if you go into a team that actually is
[18:37] Speaker 4: not that good, but you become the featured guy and
[18:39] Speaker 4: you could be a Charles Barkley AI and not ever win.
[18:41] Speaker 5: I would never want to be Charles Barkley AI.
[18:44] Speaker 2: Or the Knicks were asked when Patrick Ewing came into
[18:46] Speaker 2: the league.
[18:46] Speaker 3: Yeah, of course they were.
[18:47] Speaker 1: But I'm saying over the next quarter, over the next
[18:49] Speaker 1: couple of years, they became a playoff team.
[18:52] Speaker 2: Just like everybody.
[18:53] Speaker 3: I want to win. Just like everybody.
[18:55] Speaker 2: Or you can go on a team.
[18:58] Speaker 4: And learn how to win and also have a chance
[19:00] Speaker 4: to win right then and there. That's the question. Because
[19:07] Speaker 4: the end result, you don't know.
[19:08] Speaker 5: Be wise to me. You're asking to be wise to me.
[19:10] Speaker 5: You're talking about rookies now? That's how bad it got.
[19:16] Speaker 3: That's what we're talking about.
[19:17] Speaker 5: We're talking about rookies. You basing this whole story off
[19:22] Speaker 5: of my first year of how I want to be?
[19:25] Speaker 3: I'm basing your story off of A.J. 's in a
[19:29] Speaker 3: situation where he might not get his rookie numbers to
[19:32] Speaker 3: be a rookie of the year and average 30-something because
[19:36] Speaker 3: he's on a team that has two stars. But that's
[19:39] Speaker 3: not my argument. But he might have 50-something wins. My
[19:42] Speaker 3: argument is not numbers. He has 50-something wins.
[19:45] Speaker 2: My argument is.
[19:47] Speaker 3: Learning how to be great. How can you be great? losing?
[19:50] Speaker 3: They're not going to have 50 wins. I mean, 40,
[19:52] Speaker 3: I feel like. This is where the argument in turn.
[19:55] Speaker 4: He's saying you go.
[19:55] Speaker 3: I didn't say I want to go to a losing
[19:57] Speaker 3: team to get my number. You're the number one pick.
[19:59] Speaker 3: You're going to a losing team. That's all you can
[20:00] Speaker 3: do is getting losing, getting numbers.
[20:02] Speaker 4: So you, again, you learn to be great without having
[20:05] Speaker 4: the help is what you're saying.
[20:06] Speaker 3: I want to go through the ups and downs.
[20:08] Speaker 4: And not have an expectation of winning with a team
[20:11] Speaker 4: that's not that good.
[20:13] Speaker 5: If I know I'm not going to win a championship
[20:14] Speaker 5: with them. He's saying you can do that. This Washington
[20:17] Speaker 5: team ain't going to win a championship.
[20:19] Speaker 2: No, but they can.
[20:19] Speaker 3: At all.
[20:20] Speaker 4: They can be in the playoffs.
[20:21] Speaker 2: But what are we talking about? They can be more
[20:23] Speaker 2: winning teams. They can potentially compete for a playoff.
[20:24] Speaker 5: I feel like I can win the same amount of
[20:26] Speaker 5: numbers without the same games without them with AJ.
[20:30] Speaker 6: They're going to win 30-something games.
[20:31] Speaker 2: Without Trey and AD?
[20:32] Speaker 5: If they don't have Trey and fucking AD, which they
[20:34] Speaker 5: ain't going to have? I can win the same amount
[20:36] Speaker 5: of games.
[20:37] Speaker 2: You don't hear your argument, though.
[20:39] Speaker 3: You're just arguing. No, you're trying to argue. I want
[20:42] Speaker 3: to win. And I want to be great.
[20:44] Speaker 2: But you're not going to win.
[20:45] Speaker 3: Everybody wants to be great, Nick, if they get drafted
[20:47] Speaker 3: number one. But you're not winning. No one wins their
[20:49] Speaker 3: first four years. So what are you talking about? So
[20:51] Speaker 3: you would rather get. So instead of winning. What is
[20:54] Speaker 3: your argument? So instead of winning, what did Cooper flag?
[20:56] Speaker 3: Do I end up winning? What did Cooper flag?
[20:58] Speaker 2: How many games?
[20:59] Speaker 3: Do I end up winning?
[21:00] Speaker 6: No.
[21:00] Speaker 3: Do I end up winning? No.
[21:02] Speaker 6: We don't know that.
[21:03] Speaker 3: We don't know that. We don't know that.
[21:04] Speaker 4: So you would rather.
[21:05] Speaker 3: How many games did he win?
[21:07] Speaker 2: I think 26, 27 games.
[21:07] Speaker 3: How many games did Carl Knipple win? Carl?
[21:12] Speaker 4: Carl.
[21:12] Speaker 2: Carl Knipple?
[21:14] Speaker 3: 44.
[21:14] Speaker 2: So you would rather be.
[21:17] Speaker 3: Cooper Flagg, then Khan, because Khan is a third option.
[21:20] Speaker 3: Cooper Flagg is the number one option. He gets all
[21:22] Speaker 3: the shots, do everything to learn how to be the star.
[21:25] Speaker 3: Or you can be this guy who starts off winning
[21:28] Speaker 3: his career winning 44. 44 and 38 as a third option.
[21:33] Speaker 3: You're right in the middle, and you're going to keep winning.
[21:36] Speaker 1: Cooper Flagg averaged 21. Cooper Flagg averaged 21. Khan could
[21:39] Speaker 1: never average 18.
[21:39] Speaker 3: I didn't ask that. Who would you rather be?
[21:41] Speaker 4: Who would you rather pick?
[21:42] Speaker 6: At that point, it don't matter.
[21:44] Speaker 3: Who would you rather pick? We compare losing to losing.
[21:50] Speaker 3: We compare losing to losing. One has a winning record.
[21:54] Speaker 3: Did he win the championship? One has a winning record.
[21:56] Speaker 3: It's our rookie season. We're not winning the championship. We're
[21:59] Speaker 3: not all gifted to do Magic Johnson.
[22:02] Speaker 2: I'm sorry.
[22:02] Speaker 3: I don't have an MVP.
[22:04] Speaker 4: The definition of winning is actually getting a chance to
[22:05] Speaker 4: play in the playoffs.
[22:07] Speaker 6: So what's your argument?
[22:08] Speaker 3: I'm arguing which one you want.
[22:10] Speaker 4: Or Khan Kanipal. Who are you picking?
[22:12] Speaker 3: None of them.
[22:13] Speaker 6: I'm not a loser.
[22:14] Speaker 2: Khan Kanipal, he's not a loser.
[22:17] Speaker 3: He's not a loser. His percentage is not a loser percentage.
[22:19] Speaker 4: So I think this is where we're getting to. Gil's
[22:20] Speaker 4: a little upset. You know what I'm saying?
[22:23] Speaker 6: No, because he's a loser at school.
[22:24] Speaker 4: It's just.
[22:25] Speaker 3: What would you be your first four years? A loser
[22:27] Speaker 3: at school? A loser. It hurts him. It hurts him.
[22:30] Speaker 4: He's just a little disappointed you chose that route because
[22:32] Speaker 4: you've been arguing other things.
[22:33] Speaker 3: Yeah, I argue that.
[22:35] Speaker 4: Somebody like us, we're supposed to choose the conknipple route
[22:37] Speaker 4: because we're supposed to choose to win.
[22:39] Speaker 2: Every single time.
[22:39] Speaker 3: Every single time. You choose the conknipple route every time.
[22:41] Speaker 4: Shut up.
[22:42] Speaker 3: You're supposed to want to.
[22:43] Speaker 1: Conknipple.
[22:44] Speaker 3: You're supposed to want to say, hey, I want to
[22:48] Speaker 3: win 50-plus every game. I don't want to be at
[22:51] Speaker 3: the bottom just scoring a whole bunch of pointless numbers.
[22:54] Speaker 3: That's my argument, nigga. That's pointless numbers. My argument is Jordan.
[22:58] Speaker 3: My argument is being the second year, averaging 35, and
[23:01] Speaker 3: we won 15, 20 games. That's my argument. Now you
[23:04] Speaker 3: want to argue that. And he wins. No, he won.
[23:07] Speaker 3: Thank you. That's why he wins. He won seven years.
[23:10] Speaker 3: That's what we all want to do. That's always been
[23:13] Speaker 3: the star argument. I'm on a team. I got to
[23:15] Speaker 3: do everything. I got to do everything. Learn how to win.
[23:19] Speaker 3: When we get new players, I can sacrifice so we
[23:21] Speaker 3: can win. That's every star fucking argument. And the only
[23:26] Speaker 3: ones that actually get to be greater than us is
[23:30] Speaker 3: the guys who won rings. But that's been the argument.
[23:34] Speaker 3: You argued against that every fucking time. Jordan didn't make
[23:38] Speaker 3: the playoffs his first three seasons, though.
[23:39] Speaker 6: Huh?
[23:40] Speaker 2: The Bulls made the playoffs first three seasons.
[23:42] Speaker 3: Lost, lost, lost, lost, lost, lost, lost.
[23:44] Speaker 6: But you're learning winning. You're going to end up winning.
[23:47] Speaker 3: How the fuck are you learning winning by losing? Being
[23:50] Speaker 3: a bunch of losers. The niggas said my whole team
[23:53] Speaker 3: was cocaine heads. Okay. Walking in there, cocaine heads. He
[23:56] Speaker 3: said it out of his mouth. He won with a
[23:58] Speaker 3: cocaine head. So he ended up learning how to win
[24:00] Speaker 3: with what he did. No, he didn't win with them.
[24:01] Speaker 3: They had to get rid of them what was dennis
[24:04] Speaker 3: rodman they got ripped that way whoa you know you
[24:07] Speaker 3: say one way was in the league before dennis rodman
[24:12] Speaker 3: came in you know that we're talking about 84 84
[24:16] Speaker 3: 85 87 we're talking about that guy i'm talking about
[24:19] Speaker 3: people that scored a lot of points but never win
[24:22] Speaker 3: i don't want to be that person yeah i don't
[24:24] Speaker 3: want to be that person they didn't want to be
[24:25] Speaker 3: that person You think T-Mac wanted to be that person?
[24:29] Speaker 3: He's not good enough. You think Russell Westbrook wanted to
[24:33] Speaker 3: do all this and not win a championship? It ain't
[24:34] Speaker 3: what you want to be. I wanted to be fucking
[24:36] Speaker 3: Michael Jordan. I couldn't. I can say all kinds of shit.
[24:39] Speaker 3: You got to win. But you're here trying to pretend
[24:42] Speaker 3: that you want to start like they did, but you
[24:44] Speaker 3: get the chip like Kobe and Shaq and all of them.
[24:47] Speaker 3: Everybody don't get this, Jens. You want to get the rewards?
[24:52] Speaker 3: You want to get the rewards of all the scoring
[24:54] Speaker 3: and all the MVPs? I didn't say none of that.
[24:57] Speaker 3: I didn't say none of that. Stop putting words. I
[24:58] Speaker 3: didn't say I want to beat the rewards of MVPs
[25:00] Speaker 3: and shit.
[25:01] Speaker 5: I said I want to learn how to be great
[25:02] Speaker 5: like Michael.
[25:03] Speaker 3: Jordan and fucking LeBron James. That's what I said. I
[25:06] Speaker 3: didn't say shit about no MVPs.
[25:07] Speaker 5: But when are you giving them stop this losing shit
[25:08] Speaker 5: when are you i want to win i don't care
[25:10] Speaker 5: about that when do you give them their greatness fuck
[25:13] Speaker 5: when they won when when like when you.
[25:17] Speaker 3: Got to put a date on it because remember they
[25:19] Speaker 3: had to start off losing oh my god yeah right
[25:23] Speaker 3: they have to start off losing games but a lot.
[25:26] Speaker 5: Of games player you end you eventually end up winning
[25:31] Speaker 5: That's why when you're the greatest, you eventually end up
[25:33] Speaker 5: learning how to win, and you win.
[25:35] Speaker 3: Learning how to win.
[25:35] Speaker 6: You don't just keep scoring and losing and losing.
[25:37] Speaker 3: Learn how to win when better players on your team come.
[25:41] Speaker 4: You got to pick the other route.
[25:43] Speaker 3: Goddamn.
[25:44] Speaker 2: All right, well.
[25:45] Speaker 3: I'm going to pick a winner.
[25:46] Speaker 2: Yeah, pick a winner.
[25:47] Speaker 3: Yeah, so you want to go to a team that
[25:49] Speaker 3: you get drafted, they got 56 wins, and then y'all
[25:51] Speaker 3: win from there.
[25:51] Speaker 2: That's where you want to go.
[25:52] Speaker 4: Rockets got to open a training camp.
[25:54] Speaker 3: Goddamn.
[25:55] Speaker 2: Thank you, Danny.
[25:56] Speaker 3: Ah, damn. Rockets open a training camp. I will hug
[25:59] Speaker 3: it out at the end of the show. That goddamn
[26:01] Speaker 3: dope is strong. That shit is strong.
[26:03] Speaker 2: LP, you're not.
[26:04] Speaker 3: He turned back into I am legend at the Drew League.
[26:07] Speaker 4: There's nothing wrong with your opinion.
[26:09] Speaker 3: It just contradicts.
[26:10] Speaker 2: He wants to be. He wants to.
[26:11] Speaker 3: Yeah. See, this is the problem. He's hiding. I do
[26:14] Speaker 3: not want to be that. The nigga's hiding. He's hiding
[26:16] Speaker 3: as a score. He knows what he is. He knows
[26:19] Speaker 3: his Drew League team. He knows what made him the
[26:22] Speaker 3: best in the goddamn league. They lost every year. But
[26:25] Speaker 3: he put his team. His team was all his friends.
[26:28] Speaker 3: The nigga put me on the team knowing I ain't
[26:29] Speaker 3: going to do shit. Just give him the ball so
[26:31] Speaker 3: he can average 35.
[26:32] Speaker 2: Left the league and score.
[26:33] Speaker 3: MVP. Lost first round every year. I won. I ended
[26:37] Speaker 3: up winning. I am legend. The Drew League champion. That's
[26:39] Speaker 3: what I won. Yeah, the Drew League champion. But was
[26:40] Speaker 3: you I am legend before? And that's when I stopped playing.
[26:43] Speaker 3: After I won, I did it.
[26:45] Speaker 6: I did it, y'all.
[26:47] Speaker 5: I fucking finally did it. I kept coming back with
[26:49] Speaker 5: you stupid motherfuckers.
[26:51] Speaker 3: And I said, I finally did it. That's what I'm.
[26:53] Speaker 6: Doing it for.
[26:54] Speaker 3: What did you do? When I won, I retired. When
[26:57] Speaker 3: you won, who was on the team then? Nobody. No names.
[27:03] Speaker 3: Was I on that team? Okay, there we go. There
[27:07] Speaker 3: we go. He kept upgrading, upgrading, upgrading. And then you
[27:11] Speaker 3: got a team that can win.
[27:12] Speaker 4: Of course.
[27:12] Speaker 3: No, I didn't have nobody. Let's keep this thing moving.
[27:17] Speaker 3: He's a sellout. Selling out winning, Danny. He not like you, Danny.
[27:20] Speaker 3: He not like you.
[27:22] Speaker 4: This is slight.
[27:22] Speaker 3: He be a champion on this side. He be a
[27:25] Speaker 3: champion on this side. He did not hit him.
[27:28] Speaker 2: All right, let's keep this moving. He's not like you.
[27:31] Speaker 3: Can you read this man's resume again?
[27:33] Speaker 2: Read this man's resume.
[27:34] Speaker 3: Three-time NBA champion, three different teams. Read this man's resume
[27:37] Speaker 3: three times. He won every level.
[27:39] Speaker 2: NCAA champion of the world.
[27:40] Speaker 3: Every level. Lost, lost. You just like me. Lost, lost.
[27:43] Speaker 2: We lost at every level.
[27:44] Speaker 3: We lost at every level, God damn it. You were
[27:47] Speaker 3: just fortunate that I told you where to go. I
[27:51] Speaker 3: told you where to go. Yo ass wanted to go
[27:53] Speaker 3: to motherfucking Timberwolves. Timberwolves, that's where he wanted to go. Timberwolves,
[27:57] Speaker 3: that's the worst franchise in sports history. That's where he
[28:01] Speaker 3: wanted to go. I had to say, no, no, no,
[28:03] Speaker 3: don't go there. Go over there with the light skin boys.
[28:05] Speaker 6: They didn't say shit like that.
[28:08] Speaker 2: You're already on record saying that.
[28:09] Speaker 5: They had Jimmy Butler at the time. They had a
[28:13] Speaker 5: good team in Minnesota.
[28:14] Speaker 3: Uh-huh.
[28:14] Speaker 1: Gil Sweating, that's, you know, the mark of a good argument.
[28:17] Speaker 1: That's what you know. It was a good debate. But
[28:19] Speaker 1: the Rockets opened training camp today after holding media day Tuesday.
[28:23] Speaker 1: KD entering his 20th season in the league, turns 38
[28:27] Speaker 1: next week, coming off a season where he put up
[28:29] Speaker 1: an efficient 26, six boards and five dimes on 52-41,
[28:33] Speaker 1: 87 splits, make his second team All-NBA. Durant was second
[28:37] Speaker 1: in the league in minutes played behind teammate Umin Thompson.
[28:40] Speaker 1: and appeared in 78 games. So Durant was asked about
[28:42] Speaker 1: possibly reducing his minutes this season and had this to say.
[28:47] Speaker 3: Rafael and E may have talked about wanting to get
[28:49] Speaker 3: your minutes down at points this season. Why? Why do
[28:52] Speaker 3: they want to get your minutes down? I guess that's
[28:54] Speaker 3: more of a question. Are you okay with playing a
[28:56] Speaker 3: little less minutes this season?
[28:57] Speaker 7: I mean, it's been the same message for me for
[28:59] Speaker 7: a long time, man. I'm better on the court. The
[29:04] Speaker 7: team is better when I'm on the court. Now, if
[29:07] Speaker 7: we handle our business the first three quarters, then Earlier
[29:10] Speaker 7: in the game, then maybe. But just for the sake
[29:14] Speaker 7: of giving my minutes just because he's older or he's
[29:17] Speaker 7: played a lot of minutes, that's what I'm supposed to
[29:20] Speaker 7: be training for is to play the long haul, play
[29:23] Speaker 7: 48 minutes a night. But I get the concern, but
[29:30] Speaker 7: if the game needs me to be out there, I
[29:32] Speaker 7: want to be out there.
[29:34] Speaker 1: If the game needs me to be out there, I
[29:37] Speaker 1: want to be out there. Danny, let's start with you.
[29:38] Speaker 4: How old is KD now?
[29:39] Speaker 1: 37?
[29:39] Speaker 3: 38?
[29:40] Speaker 4: He'll be 38 next week. I love the answer, but
[29:44] Speaker 4: come on, man. Let's stop. We don't need you playing 48.
[29:48] Speaker 4: Like he said, be prepared for 48. No, you don't
[29:50] Speaker 4: need to prepare for 48 minutes. Maybe playoffs. Prepare for 40.
[29:55] Speaker 4: But during the regular season, he put behind Amon Thompson.
[29:58] Speaker 4: He played way too many minutes last year. And that's
[30:00] Speaker 4: why he wasn't prepared or available in the playoffs. And
[30:04] Speaker 4: you lose to the Lakers, a team you shouldn't have
[30:06] Speaker 4: lost to.
[30:07] Speaker 2: Played one of those six playoff games. LeBron James.
[30:09] Speaker 3: He hurt a thing.
[30:10] Speaker 2: What was going against LeBron James? He had a knee.
[30:11] Speaker 4: He couldn't move. That's when LeBron went by him down
[30:13] Speaker 4: the lane and did this shit.
[30:15] Speaker 2: 36 minutes per game.
[30:16] Speaker 1: What did he hurt last year? I think he, like,
[30:18] Speaker 1: bumped knees. And then he had, like, an ankle injury, too.
[30:20] Speaker 1: So he bumped knees.
[30:21] Speaker 4: It's like a knee bruise and an ankle injury.
[30:22] Speaker 2: But he couldn't move.
[30:23] Speaker 3: He was playing three on three when he shouldn't have, though.
[30:26] Speaker 2: He played 36 minutes.
[30:28] Speaker 4: That's way too many minutes.
[30:30] Speaker 3: 37-38.
[30:31] Speaker 6: And then KD, he played after practice.
[30:35] Speaker 4: He should be playing 10 less minutes than that. He
[30:38] Speaker 4: should be playing 28-30.
[30:40] Speaker 3: Ooh.
[30:41] Speaker 4: If you're a good team, doing regular season, if you're
[30:44] Speaker 4: a good team, that's about right.
[30:46] Speaker 1: But that's also the problem with that squad last season.
[30:48] Speaker 1: No true point guard. They found themselves in clutch games,
[30:51] Speaker 1: late game situations.
[30:52] Speaker 4: Steven Adams back. You just paid Ahmed Thompson. You got Jabari.
[30:55] Speaker 4: You got all these guys.
[30:57] Speaker 3: Eason, you.
[30:58] Speaker 4: There's no reason why KD needs to play 36 minutes
[31:00] Speaker 4: a game.
[31:01] Speaker 1: But his point was if they're winning and he can
[31:03] Speaker 1: rest in those fourth quarters, he's fine doing that.
[31:05] Speaker 4: As they should.
[31:05] Speaker 1: Played the most clutch games in the NBA last season,
[31:07] Speaker 1: so we're not in that position late in games to
[31:10] Speaker 1: rest him, so I had to put him out there.
[31:12] Speaker 4: That don't mean he needs to play the first three
[31:13] Speaker 4: quarters either, all three. Like, come on. You sit your time.
[31:19] Speaker 4: And that's where it comes to 30.
[31:20] Speaker 2: Sorry.
[31:20] Speaker 4: That's where it comes to, like, 20. Because, like, if
[31:22] Speaker 4: you play your normal minutes and you sit the fourth quarter,
[31:25] Speaker 4: some games you might have to play 38. But if
[31:27] Speaker 4: you play, that averages out probably about 28 to 30.
[31:31] Speaker 4: When you sit some fourth quarters. Because you're not playing
[31:33] Speaker 4: but the first three quarters, maybe eight minutes a quarter
[31:37] Speaker 4: of those quarters. 24 minutes out of those.
[31:41] Speaker 5: 25 to 30. That's rough.
[31:44] Speaker 3: That's rough.
[31:45] Speaker 2: 35 at the least.
[31:46] Speaker 3: I guess it's always that argument of When you look at,
[31:56] Speaker 3: you know, those elite guys who stay in shape, like,
[32:03] Speaker 3: as a coach, you have to trust them. Like, he
[32:06] Speaker 3: knows what the team is. He's getting himself in shape
[32:10] Speaker 3: to play long minutes, right? We know the guys who actually...
[32:14] Speaker 3: They know how to conserve their energy. That's what makes
[32:16] Speaker 3: them great. They know when to pick their spot. So
[32:18] Speaker 3: the minutes themselves is not that important. It's the style
[32:22] Speaker 3: of those minutes, right? Yeah, that's what I'm about to say.
[32:25] Speaker 2: Playing 38 minutes.
[32:25] Speaker 6: Yeah.
[32:26] Speaker 3: And now with a point guard. With Steve Nash, that's
[32:30] Speaker 3: a whole different style of 38 minutes. So I don't
[32:34] Speaker 3: want to go into the season already pre-match. It's a
[32:38] Speaker 3: prepackaged meal. You're going to sit there. I'm going to
[32:41] Speaker 3: coach you by the paper. Like, sub you out of this. Like,
[32:44] Speaker 3: I don't want to. I'm going to let it flow.
[32:45] Speaker 5: You're going to be running baseline to baseline, too. But
[32:48] Speaker 5: I'm going to let it flow. You're going to be running, bro.
[32:51] Speaker 3: But I'm going to let it flow. 120.
[32:53] Speaker 4: Most teams are averaging over 100, 100. They're running up
[32:57] Speaker 4: and down the floor in today's NBA. I don't care
[32:59] Speaker 4: how you try to spin it. They're not going half
[33:01] Speaker 4: court from the 90s to early 2000s. We're not playing
[33:04] Speaker 4: back to the basket.
[33:05] Speaker 3: You're running.
[33:06] Speaker 2: You're moving.
[33:06] Speaker 3: Whoa, whoa, whoa.
[33:07] Speaker 2: Technically, it's less mileage. Three-point line. That's real short.
[33:11] Speaker 3: That's my game. Because I can't go baseline to baseline.
[33:14] Speaker 3: I can go three to three. This is very short.
[33:18] Speaker 4: Corner to corner is a pain in the ass. Corner
[33:24] Speaker 4: to corner is a pain in the ass. But with
[33:27] Speaker 4: a 38-year-old, I think, and I'm with you, but you
[33:30] Speaker 4: also got to save some people from themselves. And if
[33:32] Speaker 4: you want him to be fully healthy during the time
[33:33] Speaker 4: you need him most, you can't play him a lot
[33:36] Speaker 4: of minutes.
[33:36] Speaker 2: So would you?
[33:37] Speaker 3: I mean, as a player, we always want to play
[33:41] Speaker 3: as long as we can.
[33:45] Speaker 2: Like, it's like, do I, do I, do I.
[33:47] Speaker 4: It's game to game.
[33:48] Speaker 3: But I still got to think about his greatness. And obviously,
[33:50] Speaker 3: he don't want to make us all NBAs and all-stars.
[33:53] Speaker 3: So I got to really take that in consideration, too.
[33:55] Speaker 5: Do you think it depends on the position, too? Him
[33:57] Speaker 5: being at the four, you ain't got to worry too much.
[34:01] Speaker 2: Not with everybody's stretch.
[34:02] Speaker 3: Yeah.
[34:03] Speaker 2: Certain nights.
[34:03] Speaker 4: You got to manage stretches. I feel like you can't
[34:06] Speaker 4: do long stretches at times.
[34:08] Speaker 3: Me, I got to watch the game.
[34:10] Speaker 2: Yeah.
[34:10] Speaker 3: Like, you know what I mean?
[34:11] Speaker 2: That's what I'm saying.
[34:11] Speaker 3: I'm not going to just say, all right, you know,
[34:13] Speaker 3: at the four-minute mark, I'm going to sub him out
[34:15] Speaker 3: and then put him in at the top of the second. Like,
[34:17] Speaker 3: I got to see how the game is being played.
[34:19] Speaker 3: Is he touching the ball? Is he on fire? Is he,
[34:21] Speaker 3: you know what I mean? I got to, like, literally
[34:23] Speaker 3: just watch it.
[34:24] Speaker 2: Fuck this piece of paper, right? That's just a guideline.
[34:26] Speaker 2: This guideline.
[34:27] Speaker 3: He doesn't hit three, four. We haven't seen it. I'm
[34:31] Speaker 3: going to hit three, four shots, and then you just
[34:33] Speaker 3: sit up and look. Oh, sub.
[34:34] Speaker 2: And then you sub out the.
[34:35] Speaker 3: Guy who's on fire.
[34:36] Speaker 2: That happens a lot.
[34:37] Speaker 3: So I would rather kind of like, this is my guideline.
[34:40] Speaker 3: Watch how he's playing.
[34:41] Speaker 2: Hey, hey, you ready?
[34:43] Speaker 3: Like, give him some respect.
[34:45] Speaker 2: Are you ready?
[34:46] Speaker 3: Now let me know when you're ready to go back
[34:47] Speaker 3: in time for a majority of these games. Then I'll
[34:50] Speaker 3: find games where he caught fire real quick, and it's like,
[34:53] Speaker 3: all right, he got the advantage today. Let me see
[34:55] Speaker 3: if I can rest him a little bit, and then
[34:57] Speaker 3: make sure he get his numbers, pull him out.
[34:59] Speaker 4: It's a field thing. But I still don't think you
[35:01] Speaker 4: should do anything long, like a 10-minute stretch. There's no... Yeah,
[35:04] Speaker 4: he don't.
[35:04] Speaker 2: Have to play 10 straight or 12 straight. You know
[35:05] Speaker 2: what I'm saying?
[35:06] Speaker 4: So, like, if you can sub him out early, if
[35:08] Speaker 4: the game's going good, and you can sub him out
[35:09] Speaker 4: at a 6- or 7-minute stretch, cool. If he gets hot,
[35:12] Speaker 4: you give him an extra 2 minutes or so. But
[35:14] Speaker 4: if he does more than 10 minutes, like, you're pushing
[35:17] Speaker 4: it now. If he's doing an 11-12-minute stretch, playing a
[35:19] Speaker 4: whole quarter at 38... Like, I'd rather... Unless it's... If
[35:23] Speaker 4: it's the fourth quarter, okay, maybe. But, like, if you're
[35:25] Speaker 4: going overtime, now it's like... But do at least respect
[35:28] Speaker 4: that mindset is what I'm saying. I respect his mindset.
[35:30] Speaker 1: I'm coming here trying to play a full 48. I
[35:32] Speaker 1: don't care if I'm 38.
[35:33] Speaker 2: He's a competitor.
[35:33] Speaker 3: This is not my era where.
[35:34] Speaker 4: How much did he play last year?
[35:35] Speaker 3: 36 minutes a game, played 78 games. I don't know.
[35:37] Speaker 3: I might keep him at that.
[35:37] Speaker 5: 32, between 32 and 35.
[35:45] Speaker 3: In my era, they wouldn't touch the ball. We know
[35:49] Speaker 3: they wouldn't touch the ball.
[35:50] Speaker 4: At 78 games, though, Pete, that's why he was not
[35:54] Speaker 4: healthy in the playoffs.
[35:55] Speaker 3: He hit knees.
[35:55] Speaker 5: Yeah, and I would tell him to stop doing that.
[35:58] Speaker 5: It wasn't going to be that. It would have been
[35:59] Speaker 5: something else. He played a lot of one-on-one.
[36:01] Speaker 4: He's also a year older now. This is year 20
[36:04] Speaker 4: for KD?
[36:05] Speaker 1: Yeah.
[36:07] Speaker 3: You're 20.
[36:07] Speaker 2: I think we're.
[36:09] Speaker 4: Forgetting because LeBron James set a standard. 20 years is
[36:12] Speaker 4: a long fucking time.
[36:13] Speaker 3: It's a lot of years.
[36:14] Speaker 4: You see what Kobe looked like in year 20, right?
[36:16] Speaker 4: The injuries he had.
[36:18] Speaker 2: That could have been prevented.
[36:23] Speaker 3: But they have an advantage that we don't have, though. Huh?
[36:27] Speaker 2: Yeah. Kobe had it on his jumping leg.
[36:31] Speaker 3: KD has it on his opposite so it doesn't affect
[36:32] Speaker 3: his jump. KD don't do a lot of Movement neither.
[36:37] Speaker 6: It don't take too much.
[36:38] Speaker 3: That's what I'm saying for him.
[36:40] Speaker 4: You got to scale. You're 20, man.
[36:42] Speaker 3: Seven feet almost.
[36:44] Speaker 4: Yeah, we don't see seven footers play this long.
[36:46] Speaker 2: Yeah, I.
[36:49] Speaker 3: Mean, he's played 30. He's basically played 36 minutes his
[36:53] Speaker 3: whole career. I mean, he's shooting the same. 57%. I
[37:00] Speaker 3: can't just go into it and say I'm going to
[37:02] Speaker 3: play a nigga 25 minutes. That would be the worst
[37:04] Speaker 3: numbers he's ever had.
[37:05] Speaker 1: Year 20 for KD, 19th season, obviously missing the entire
[37:08] Speaker 1: season dealing with that Achilles.
[37:09] Speaker 3: I'd go 30.
[37:09] Speaker 4: 19, 20, ain't no more than 32. Forrest Brewer averaged
[37:11] Speaker 4: 37 minutes a game.
[37:11] Speaker 3: Listen, he could play a 36 in the playoffs.
[37:13] Speaker 4: I don't care what you do. In the regular season,
[37:14] Speaker 4: we got a Limit some of it. It depends on.
[37:23] Speaker 3: How the team looks. If they're coming out on fire,
[37:25] Speaker 3: I mean.
[37:25] Speaker 1: Well, just based on team performance and what we've seen.
[37:28] Speaker 4: And they've added Bogdan. They've added Smart.
[37:32] Speaker 3: Yeah.
[37:32] Speaker 4: You know, you got Fred back, Steven Adams back, Sangoon,
[37:36] Speaker 4: Amin Thompson, Jabari's still there, right? Tari Eason is still there.
[37:40] Speaker 4: You got Reed Shepard probably looking to take over. Reed, like,
[37:43] Speaker 4: they got a good fucking team. If this team's healthy,
[37:45] Speaker 4: stays healthy, they should be a top four seeded team.
[37:47] Speaker 1: But back to KD's point, now, if they're out there
[37:49] Speaker 1: doing what they're supposed to be doing.
[37:50] Speaker 3: Yeah.
[37:51] Speaker 1: Then the fourth quarter, we got the game in hand.
[37:53] Speaker 1: I don't just need to be out there to be
[37:54] Speaker 1: out there getting cardio. Go ahead and rest. I'm fine chilling.
[37:57] Speaker 1: But if it's a game, it's winning time. You going
[38:00] Speaker 1: to have KD on the bench?
[38:02] Speaker 4: It's a field thing.
[38:05] Speaker 2: Same thing with LeBron.
[38:06] Speaker 3: If you say I'm going to play you 25 minutes,
[38:07] Speaker 3: that motherfucker going to be like, I'm good. I ain't
[38:10] Speaker 3: there yet.
[38:13] Speaker 4: He might be there this year.
[38:15] Speaker 3: So let's... So I got to put in a whole
[38:19] Speaker 3: bunch of niggas that don't do it like me and
[38:21] Speaker 3: just watch them.
[38:22] Speaker 2: If your team's winning. Now, if they're not, yes. Leave
[38:25] Speaker 2: me in the game.
[38:26] Speaker 4: Bron this year is surrounded by motherfuckers that's doing something. Yeah,
[38:29] Speaker 4: Bron's surrounded this year with guys that can do something.
[38:32] Speaker 1: I'm sure Bron much different mentality. You're 24, and I
[38:35] Speaker 1: got to live in Philly.
[38:35] Speaker 5: He ain't got nobody on the team like what Bron
[38:38] Speaker 5: got offensively.
[38:40] Speaker 2: So let's shift to four.
[38:40] Speaker 1: KD hasn't been to the finals since 2019 when he
[38:44] Speaker 1: suffered a devastating Achilles injury. helped the Raptors ruin the Warriors'
[38:48] Speaker 1: quest for a three-peat. Hasn't advanced past the second round
[38:51] Speaker 1: since that point. Appeared in just one playoff game last season.
[38:55] Speaker 1: The Lakers bounced the Rockets in the first round and
[38:58] Speaker 1: missed that playoff series. But let's start with our three-time champion.
[39:02] Speaker 1: Most championship experience here on the couch here at Gil's Arena.
[39:05] Speaker 1: Presented by Polymarket. Powered by Playmaker. What would another run
[39:12] Speaker 1: to the NBA Finals mean for KD's legacy? KD gets
[39:15] Speaker 1: a lot of criticism. Two-time Finals MVP, two-time champion.
[39:21] Speaker 4: I think he'll probably get more respect than he got
[39:23] Speaker 4: in the Golden State years. Because, like, this is his team.
[39:29] Speaker 4: If he's carrying... his team to the finals in a
[39:32] Speaker 4: loaded Western Conference, if you beat OKC or San Antonio
[39:36] Speaker 4: with this team, and KD, you're the number one option,
[39:39] Speaker 4: there ain't no Steph and Klay and Draymond where people
[39:41] Speaker 4: are like, oh, you took the easy route. This is
[39:44] Speaker 4: him kind of getting it out the mud. Even though
[39:46] Speaker 4: this is a really good team, I think it'll mean
[39:49] Speaker 4: a lot to his legacy.
[39:50] Speaker 2: You don't think they'll be like, oh, but you have
[39:51] Speaker 2: Shane Goon. Nah.
[39:53] Speaker 4: That's what I'd be asking. Unless, again, Shane Goon became
[39:56] Speaker 4: the leader. Like, Katie's just. Because that's. I don't see
[40:01] Speaker 4: any of those guys taking the reins and be like, oh,
[40:03] Speaker 4: don't worry. I got this, Katie.
[40:05] Speaker 2: You good.
[40:05] Speaker 4: Just be the third option. Like, I don't see that happening.
[40:10] Speaker 3: It's such a weird. It's just such a weird thought
[40:14] Speaker 3: process where. They win two championships, and he has Steph
[40:20] Speaker 3: and Klay. And then people say, you got to go
[40:22] Speaker 3: get your own team. Then he goes to Brooklyn, but
[40:28] Speaker 3: it's Kyrie and James Harden. And they're like, yeah, you
[40:32] Speaker 3: win with them. You're like, wait, what?
[40:34] Speaker 4: I don't know if they would have given him that
[40:36] Speaker 4: same team.
[40:37] Speaker 2: What?
[40:38] Speaker 3: That doesn't make sense. There's two superstars being added also. Like,
[40:42] Speaker 3: that just doesn't make sense. That team is crazy. Like,
[40:44] Speaker 3: it did like... Like, how are you picking and choosing
[40:48] Speaker 3: when you're going to give somebody credit?
[40:51] Speaker 4: Again, this is why we say how you do it matters.
[40:56] Speaker 2: To day terms.
[40:58] Speaker 3: Not forever.
[41:00] Speaker 2: I mean, some people forget.
[41:02] Speaker 3: They forget. But they give those guys credit.
[41:06] Speaker 4: They do, but.
[41:07] Speaker 2: The.
[41:08] Speaker 4: Historians that know were like, look, this is how he won. Yeah,
[41:12] Speaker 4: he won them, but we ain't giving them... Real historians
[41:15] Speaker 4: ain't going to give you that type of credit.
[41:16] Speaker 3: Now, I look at the list, and the real historians
[41:19] Speaker 3: are the ones that's writing the list, writing the rules, right?
[41:23] Speaker 3: There's guys like, okay, you got Shaq and Kobe, right? Well,
[41:27] Speaker 3: there's like one and two, right? They're like, well, Kobe,
[41:29] Speaker 3: your five rings ain't the same as what will happen
[41:31] Speaker 3: to Magic and Kareem. Why is that? Why are they
[41:35] Speaker 3: both in the top five if they're sharing responsibility? Like,
[41:38] Speaker 3: you got to make it make sense, right? You're not
[41:41] Speaker 3: keeping the same rules across the board.
[41:43] Speaker 2: Every single time.
[41:45] Speaker 3: You got guys who they went to other teams, won championships,
[41:49] Speaker 3: demanded to go there to better situations where they can
[41:52] Speaker 3: enhance the team, win championships. You didn't do nothing against them?
[41:58] Speaker 3: So I'm trying to figure out, like, can we just
[42:00] Speaker 3: keep the same rules across the board so everybody knows?
[42:03] Speaker 4: Yeah, it depends on who you're asking, right? If you're
[42:05] Speaker 4: asking the writers, their energy might be different. If you're
[42:09] Speaker 4: asking one of us, I'm not going to give them
[42:11] Speaker 4: the same credit if you won in Brooklyn. as if
[42:15] Speaker 4: he does this year in Houston.
[42:18] Speaker 3: Championship is championship.
[42:19] Speaker 2: It is.
[42:20] Speaker 4: It's an accolade.
[42:21] Speaker 3: We acknowledge it.
[42:23] Speaker 4: We acknowledge them all differently, though.
[42:24] Speaker 3: Like, the only ones I question is, like, I got
[42:26] Speaker 3: to watch. Like, if you are, you're Steph and Steph,
[42:31] Speaker 3: you won yours, right, by yourself or with Klay.
[42:35] Speaker 2: You won one with KD.
[42:38] Speaker 3: You sacrificed being the lead dog to win it. That counts.
[42:42] Speaker 2: What do you think Steph said?
[42:43] Speaker 3: What I'm saying is that counts to me.
[42:45] Speaker 4: Probably his last one.
[42:46] Speaker 2: And his first one. All of them.
[42:50] Speaker 3: My first one I won. Steph, the first one you
[42:53] Speaker 3: won is amazing. The other two you win, that's amazing.
[42:56] Speaker 3: The last one when people had y'all counted out, that's amazing.
[42:59] Speaker 3: They should be all different feelings of amazement.
[43:03] Speaker 2: Right?
[43:03] Speaker 3: Like, why is there, oh, I won this. Like, I
[43:07] Speaker 3: won this with Katie.
[43:08] Speaker 2: It's different. No, it's not.
[43:10] Speaker 3: No, it's not. Like Jordan's last three with Dennis Rodman,
[43:15] Speaker 3: he going to count them shits the same. He going
[43:18] Speaker 3: to count them the same. Yes, I got this juggernaut
[43:20] Speaker 3: defensive player. One of two players that was a bench
[43:25] Speaker 3: player or a six man that won defensive player of
[43:28] Speaker 3: the year. That counts the same.
[43:30] Speaker 1: You think that counts the same as him beating the
[43:31] Speaker 1: Lakers in the finals?
[43:33] Speaker 2: Who was hurt?
[43:34] Speaker 3: MJ. Beating the Laker team that was hurt? Yeah.
[43:36] Speaker 2: That wasn't there? He don't give a fuck. He won it.
[43:39] Speaker 3: I don't care how I won it. I won it.
[43:41] Speaker 3: To this day, people really think he beat a loaded
[43:45] Speaker 3: Magic team and a loaded Bird team and a loaded
[43:48] Speaker 3: Detroit Pistons. No, he didn't.
[43:49] Speaker 2: But I beat the Lakers. It don't matter, right? But
[43:53] Speaker 2: did I beat the Lakers?
[43:54] Speaker 3: Yeah.
[43:54] Speaker 2: But did you think he said?
[43:55] Speaker 3: Like Giannis. Did Giannis beat the Brooklyn Nets? Did he
[43:59] Speaker 3: beat that Brooklyn Nets team? No, but that ring counts,
[44:02] Speaker 3: and I'm going to count it. Yeah, I didn't go
[44:04] Speaker 3: through the real Brooklyn Nets, the team that beat me
[44:07] Speaker 3: about 20, the first two games, with just two players.
[44:11] Speaker 2: But he counts it.
[44:11] Speaker 3: It counts.
[44:12] Speaker 4: So you don't think there's some that are more meaningful
[44:15] Speaker 4: than others? They still would be amazed and think.
[44:17] Speaker 3: I think it should be meaningful to the people who
[44:19] Speaker 3: win it. I don't think we should be changing rules.
[44:23] Speaker 2: No, for sure. I'm with you.
[44:24] Speaker 4: What I'm saying, you don't think some of the certain
[44:26] Speaker 4: steps are more meaningful, like Some are harder than others.
[44:29] Speaker 1: Winning when they said we couldn't do it because we
[44:31] Speaker 1: didn't have KD. The dynasty's done. Now I get my
[44:33] Speaker 1: first finals MVP. You think it's just a little bit?
[44:37] Speaker 3: I mean, to him, we shouldn't be the ones that says, hey,
[44:42] Speaker 3: you have two real championships and two murky ones. Why
[44:46] Speaker 3: are we doing that? Yeah, that's crazy. If we didn't
[44:49] Speaker 3: do it to Magic, how many real rings you got versus, like,
[44:52] Speaker 3: we're not doing that.
[44:54] Speaker 2: That's all we're doing.
[44:55] Speaker 3: Counting your rings, and then, boom, where do you.
[44:58] Speaker 2: Fall in history? You've won three championships. Which one's the
[45:01] Speaker 2: most meaningful?
[45:03] Speaker 4: I mean, I just know that there's one that's definitely
[45:04] Speaker 4: more discredited. The bubble is discredited, and I wouldn't say
[45:08] Speaker 4: it was less meaningful, but it's not because we had
[45:11] Speaker 4: the expectation we were supposed to win, like, because we
[45:13] Speaker 4: had a loaded team.
[45:14] Speaker 3: Whoa. What teams? I'm a Laker fan. We was not
[45:20] Speaker 3: supposed to win. We was not supposed to. They had
[45:24] Speaker 3: the Clippers.
[45:25] Speaker 6: Clippers City.
[45:27] Speaker 3: When Clippers lost, it became, this championship ain't worth shit.
[45:33] Speaker 3: Before they lost, it was the most important ring in America.
[45:39] Speaker 3: Soon as they lost and the Lakers got favorite, aw,
[45:44] Speaker 3: this don't even matter. I get what you're saying.
[45:47] Speaker 4: But we were favorited throughout most of the season. We
[45:50] Speaker 4: were the number one team.
[45:52] Speaker 2: No, you was, but.
[45:53] Speaker 4: Clippers was supposed to be our matchup in the finals.
[45:56] Speaker 4: In the Western Conference, that was supposed to be our
[45:58] Speaker 4: matchup and supposed to be the team that was supposed.
[45:59] Speaker 3: To upset us.
[46:01] Speaker 4: But we were favorited, so when we won, it was
[46:03] Speaker 4: more of a relief than we weren't supposed to do this.
[46:05] Speaker 4: Toronto was like, we weren't supposed to do this shit.
[46:08] Speaker 4: We won this shit... This was like more of a,
[46:10] Speaker 4: you know, that was, I'm going to say more meaningful.
[46:13] Speaker 2: But a little bit.
[46:14] Speaker 3: Once KD went down.
[46:16] Speaker 2: Doesn't matter.
[46:16] Speaker 3: We still weren't supposed to be there. They're supposed to
[46:18] Speaker 3: win that.
[46:19] Speaker 4: We weren't supposed to be there, bro.
[46:20] Speaker 2: Wasn't supposed to be there. But LeBron, LeBron told LeBron
[46:23] Speaker 2: to go to the West.
[46:24] Speaker 5: Wait, you don't think they're supposed to be there?
[46:26] Speaker 2: No, no, no, no, no, no. If you're a Toronto,
[46:28] Speaker 2: if you were a Toronto, if.
[46:31] Speaker 3: You, if you was a Toronto Rebels fan.
[46:33] Speaker 4: Two seed behind more, like we didn't have home court.
[46:37] Speaker 3: But Toronto fans, remember, the only person that stopped y'all
[46:43] Speaker 3: from getting where y'all wanted to be was when he left.
[46:46] Speaker 3: I know they was like, whoa! It's our year!
[46:50] Speaker 4: We got a chance to do it, but it's still,
[46:51] Speaker 4: we weren't supposed to win, even with KD not being there.
[46:54] Speaker 4: It was supposed to be Golden State.
[46:55] Speaker 3: It wasn't supposed to be Golden State.
[46:57] Speaker 4: Clay, Steph, and Draymond, they still had Boogie that was there, too,
[47:01] Speaker 4: at the time. They was good, too.
[47:05] Speaker 3: Like when people say, LeBron now going back to Cleveland
[47:10] Speaker 3: ring is more Because he went like.
[47:13] Speaker 4: It's a harder route Why I don't know just people
[47:16] Speaker 4: just stay wait, right? Just the only way dirks ring
[47:18] Speaker 4: versus the hardest route.
[47:21] Speaker 3: How was that the hardest route? That's not the team.
[47:23] Speaker 3: He that's not the same team. He got drafted by
[47:27] Speaker 3: in theory remember the team that when he left and
[47:31] Speaker 3: That team got enhanced. They damn near got four number
[47:34] Speaker 3: one picks. That's a very different road.
[47:38] Speaker 4: For sure.
[47:38] Speaker 3: He comes back and they get to manipulate those number
[47:41] Speaker 3: one picks now.
[47:42] Speaker 2: Oh, let me go ahead.
[47:43] Speaker 3: We're going to keep this one. We like this one.
[47:45] Speaker 3: We're going to move this one. Because if he was there,
[47:48] Speaker 3: they don't get Kyrie. They don't get none of these
[47:49] Speaker 3: draft picks.
[47:50] Speaker 2: They get the maneuver.
[47:51] Speaker 3: So him coming back, he's coming back to, it's like
[47:53] Speaker 3: getting drafted the number one pick, but you got all
[47:56] Speaker 3: the number one picks with you. You get to manipulate
[47:58] Speaker 3: and then manage a whole different scenario.
[48:00] Speaker 4: Well, just compare it because when you're Miami, it's a
[48:02] Speaker 4: loaded team. It's not as hard of a route.
[48:05] Speaker 6: And you're going back, too.
[48:06] Speaker 2: But I get it.
[48:07] Speaker 3: But it don't change.
[48:09] Speaker 4: LA, we're more of a loaded team. And they weren't
[48:12] Speaker 4: supposed to beat the team that came out the West.
[48:13] Speaker 4: They weren't supposed to beat Golden State. They were down 3-1.
[48:16] Speaker 4: It wasn't the teams they faced in the East. It
[48:19] Speaker 4: was that juggernaut that came out the West. If they
[48:20] Speaker 4: beat them being down 3-1, that's never done in history.
[48:24] Speaker 3: That's why it weighs more. I look at it like this.
[48:27] Speaker 3: That series, it should have been 1-1 either way. If
[48:29] Speaker 3: Kyrie and Love was healthy the first year, they would
[48:32] Speaker 3: have won that one. Golden State, if Draymond didn't get
[48:35] Speaker 3: if he didn't get suspended, they possibly would have won
[48:38] Speaker 3: that one. So I can give it either way, but
[48:39] Speaker 3: he would have walked away with one.
[48:41] Speaker 4: But you think that they would have won? Was KD
[48:44] Speaker 4: there when Kyrie and Kevin?
[48:45] Speaker 3: No.
[48:46] Speaker 4: You think they would have won that series?
[48:47] Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, yeah. They couldn't stop Kyrie at that time.
[48:50] Speaker 2: Yeah.
[48:51] Speaker 4: Golden State was playing too good of an offense. I
[48:53] Speaker 4: don't think anybody stopped them.
[48:54] Speaker 3: Not then?
[48:54] Speaker 2: Not then.
[48:54] Speaker 4: They were shooting threes and all types, bro.
[48:56] Speaker 3: Nah, but they was moving at different frequencies. What? And
[48:59] Speaker 3: that's when LeBron had to be by himself. Yeah. But
[49:03] Speaker 3: just like with me, man, it's like.
[49:05] Speaker 4: So does Golden State get credit for being up 3-1?
[49:08] Speaker 4: Does Golden State get credit for being up 3-1? Back
[49:11] Speaker 4: to your other argument.
[49:12] Speaker 2: That year? The year they won?
[49:15] Speaker 4: When they lost to Cleveland. When they lost to Cleveland.
[49:18] Speaker 3: When they was up 3-1. I know, but I was saying, 73-9,
[49:21] Speaker 3: that team, that was the number one team. It kind
[49:23] Speaker 3: of looked worse on them because they were supposed to.
[49:25] Speaker 4: They were supposed to, but you asked earlier.
[49:26] Speaker 3: But they was down 3-1 too, though. And this is how,
[49:31] Speaker 3: but this is what I'd be like, yo, come on,
[49:33] Speaker 3: y'all got to keep it across the board.
[49:35] Speaker 2: You are a hero for coming back 3-1.
[49:43] Speaker 3: Right? You come back to KD, like KD and them,
[49:46] Speaker 3: they get killed for being down, being up 3-1 and losing.
[49:52] Speaker 3: But in the championship, being up 3-1 and losing, no
[49:56] Speaker 3: one actually thinks about it. That's the problem, James. No
[50:00] Speaker 3: one uses that. No one has ever used that against
[50:04] Speaker 3: Steph in no argument.
[50:06] Speaker 2: Being up 3-1 in the championship.
[50:07] Speaker 4: They don't use it against him. They give credit more
[50:09] Speaker 4: to Bron than this credit.
[50:11] Speaker 3: Yes, but you don't give credit to Curry and Clay,
[50:18] Speaker 3: what they did in that series. You just throw dirt
[50:22] Speaker 3: on Kevin Durant. But don't say, well, shit, Klay and
[50:26] Speaker 3: Curry was magnificent in the fourth quarters in those games
[50:30] Speaker 3: they came back and won. Which is just.
[50:33] Speaker 4: It's more because Draymond was suspended. He had a suspension, right?
[50:38] Speaker 2: I just look at it like, come on, man.
[50:39] Speaker 3: We just got to put some across-the-board shit in. We
[50:45] Speaker 3: just can't keep moving it because we don't like a nigga.
[50:48] Speaker 4: If KD goes to the finals this year, does this
[50:50] Speaker 4: help his legacy? Back to the originals.
[50:53] Speaker 6: I think his legacy is where it's.
[50:56] Speaker 3: Going to be. Yeah, it's tainted. For the viewers, it's
[51:00] Speaker 3: going to be tainted. There's nothing he can do because
[51:02] Speaker 3: he won two championships.
[51:03] Speaker 4: So you don't think him getting to the finals this
[51:05] Speaker 4: year would, like.
[51:07] Speaker 3: I don't think he moves... Just getting to the finals?
[51:11] Speaker 4: So if they get to the finals, I think it's
[51:13] Speaker 4: in the West. If they get to the finals, they're winning.
[51:14] Speaker 4: I don't think the teams in the East are going
[51:16] Speaker 4: to win.
[51:18] Speaker 3: Like, how do I? I don't know.
[51:20] Speaker 4: This is in the West this year, bro. The next
[51:22] Speaker 4: guy they want is either OKC, San Antonio. And if
[51:26] Speaker 4: Houston makes it out the West some miraculous fucking way,
[51:29] Speaker 4: they're going to be champions.
[51:30] Speaker 3: OK, so let me ask you this.
[51:31] Speaker 2: They're going to.
[51:32] Speaker 4: Beat New York or Philly, whoever the fuck is coming
[51:34] Speaker 4: out of there.
[51:34] Speaker 3: Where do you have them right now? Resume right now.
[51:38] Speaker 3: Where do you have them in history?
[51:40] Speaker 4: KD?
[51:40] Speaker 3: Yeah. As a small forward or just in general?
[51:45] Speaker 4: I think he's a top ten player.
[51:46] Speaker 3: Top ten player?
[51:46] Speaker 4: I think he's a top ten player.
[51:47] Speaker 3: All right, so if he this year wins a ring
[51:51] Speaker 3: in a finals.
[51:52] Speaker 4: Some people have him right outside the top ten.
[51:53] Speaker 3: How far do you push him down? Do you push
[51:57] Speaker 3: him down further?
[51:59] Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean.
[51:59] Speaker 4: Yeah, if he wins here in that point... Some people
[52:02] Speaker 4: have him... Some people have... Like, right now, I think
[52:04] Speaker 4: a lot of people have Steph ahead of them, correct?
[52:05] Speaker 2: Yes. Some people.
[52:08] Speaker 4: Some people might flip-flop that.
[52:09] Speaker 3: Yeah, it depends. Like, as a player, like, I don't... Like,
[52:12] Speaker 3: I go off of.
[52:13] Speaker 4: There's certain guys he might jump.
[52:14] Speaker 3: Like, I have Steph Curry, which is weird.
[52:18] Speaker 2: Which is weird.
[52:19] Speaker 3: I have Steph in my top five. Mm-hmm.
[52:23] Speaker 2: Right?
[52:24] Speaker 3: Like, he's in my top five. He's like that four, five, six.
[52:26] Speaker 3: He's like a sub. He's like a sub one. But
[52:28] Speaker 3: I have Kevin Durant as a better player.
[52:30] Speaker 2: Yeah.
[52:32] Speaker 3: Right? It's just the game is just the game. Like,
[52:35] Speaker 3: your body of work actually still is taken in consideration.
[52:39] Speaker 4: I can't disagree with that.
[52:40] Speaker 3: It's still taken in consideration. Like, if I'm drafting, I
[52:43] Speaker 3: know who I'm drafting. But the body of work is
[52:46] Speaker 3: the body of work, and I'm not going to, you
[52:47] Speaker 3: know what I mean? So, like, Steph being a regular
[52:50] Speaker 3: human damn being... Doing what you did, you're in my
[52:53] Speaker 3: top five. I figure out which one of these freak
[52:56] Speaker 3: of natures I'm going to move, Magic or Shaq.
[52:58] Speaker 2: Y'all can move. Y'all can move. Right?
[53:00] Speaker 3: But you know what I mean? I look at it
[53:02] Speaker 3: like that. So he's in my top. I don't have
[53:04] Speaker 3: nobody in the 80s in my top five besides Michael Jordan. Okay.
[53:08] Speaker 3: And Magic. Okay. So as small forwards, I was thinking,
[53:11] Speaker 3: where you got him at?
[53:12] Speaker 2: Small forwards?
[53:14] Speaker 3: I would say if he wins, he's still stuck in
[53:17] Speaker 3: the same spot. That's what I was saying.
[53:18] Speaker 4: Where do you have him?
[53:19] Speaker 3: Two or three? Two. Two.
[53:21] Speaker 2: Behind Braun?
[53:22] Speaker 3: Yeah.
[53:23] Speaker 2: Okay. I have him, too.
[53:26] Speaker 3: But if them Bird fans argue them three MVPs, I'm
[53:30] Speaker 3: going to shut the fuck up, too. I ain't going
[53:32] Speaker 3: to lie. I'm just like, you know, I can't argue
[53:34] Speaker 3: with it. This is my opinion.
[53:35] Speaker 4: So he jumps Bird.
[53:36] Speaker 3: He's two.
[53:37] Speaker 4: So Bird is.
[53:39] Speaker 6: I already got him in front of Bird.
[53:40] Speaker 3: Already? Yeah. Like, I'm not going to argue.
[53:43] Speaker 2: I look back at Bird, and I'm like.
[53:45] Speaker 3: I got.
[53:45] Speaker 4: Him at three right now.
[53:46] Speaker 2: You got him at three?
[53:46] Speaker 4: So KD is... Bird's at two, Katie at three right now.
[53:50] Speaker 4: If Katie gets a chance for this shit, then I
[53:52] Speaker 4: could probably jump him in front of her.
[53:53] Speaker 3: Oh, shit.
[53:54] Speaker 5: I'm just saying, like, the fact that what you said
[53:58] Speaker 5: with Steph and Katie, like, you got Curry, but, like,
[54:03] Speaker 5: I think, like, Katie is, like, Like, Bird got all
[54:06] Speaker 5: them attributes, three finals MVP, but if we lined him up,
[54:09] Speaker 5: I think Bird, I mean, KD's better than Bird.
[54:12] Speaker 4: As a player, talent-wise.
[54:13] Speaker 3: Yeah, that's what I got to make.
[54:13] Speaker 4: You got to add the resume and all that stuff.
[54:16] Speaker 4: The resume, the MVPs.
[54:16] Speaker 3: That's what I got to make. It ain't even longevity.
[54:19] Speaker 3: We're not going to do that longevity bullshit. Because if
[54:21] Speaker 3: we stop everybody's career, if you stop LeBron's career at
[54:25] Speaker 3: the same time everybody else is stopped... You know they've
[54:30] Speaker 3: had him as the number two player of all time
[54:33] Speaker 3: since 2018. Don't let nobody fool you. In 2018, LeBron James,
[54:44] Speaker 3: on all the writers' board, was number two of all time.
[54:49] Speaker 3: Jump Kareem after he won that Cleveland championship. That's when
[54:53] Speaker 3: they put him there. Don't let nobody try to, oh,
[54:55] Speaker 3: he's longer. Right there was number two. So he's been
[54:58] Speaker 3: arguing for number one since 2018. And they've been.
[55:02] Speaker 2: Sitting there like, nope. Made that jump 2020.
[55:05] Speaker 4: KD doesn't change for them. It changes for me.
[55:08] Speaker 3: I mean, like when somebody moves, like, okay, let's say
[55:14] Speaker 3: like a Charles Barkley. Who's like a close comparison? Him
[55:18] Speaker 3: and Karl Malone wasn't a close comparison, right? It was
[55:21] Speaker 3: a big separation. Like, where that separation was, let's say
[55:25] Speaker 3: Barkley won a championship at the end.
[55:28] Speaker 4: It closed the gap.
[55:28] Speaker 3: Yeah. Does it?
[55:31] Speaker 4: I think it closed it.
[55:32] Speaker 2: Personally, it does, but does it?
[55:34] Speaker 4: It also depends on how he does it.
[55:35] Speaker 3: That's what I'm saying. Like, you coming on with a
[55:37] Speaker 3: team that won two back, like, do you really get it?
[55:40] Speaker 4: Yeah, not with that team you were talking about, but
[55:42] Speaker 4: if he did a similar, if he had a Houston
[55:44] Speaker 4: team that's similar to KD and he was the main guy,
[55:47] Speaker 4: then it's like, yeah.
[55:47] Speaker 2: Like, if he went to, which is weird.
[55:50] Speaker 3: When he went to Phoenix Suns, nobody talked down on
[55:54] Speaker 3: him moving on to a team that was number two
[55:56] Speaker 3: in the West for a damn near every year. I
[55:59] Speaker 3: demand a trade from this sorry-ass team. I tried to
[56:02] Speaker 3: go to Portland, who was number one. They said no.
[56:05] Speaker 3: I go to number two.
[56:05] Speaker 4: You did try to go to Portland.
[56:06] Speaker 3: Yeah, I go to number two, and I'm on a
[56:08] Speaker 3: team that's number two, win 50-something games every year. Who
[56:10] Speaker 3: was on Portland? Clyde Drexel and all. Oh, that was
[56:13] Speaker 3: that one. So I go to that team and I
[56:15] Speaker 3: win an MVP and I'm going into the championship. Nobody
[56:18] Speaker 3: was knocking my... There was nobody knocking that this is wrong.
[56:21] Speaker 4: I didn't know all that until later on, but I
[56:23] Speaker 4: know he tried to go to Portland.
[56:24] Speaker 3: So that's why when he talks about KD, I'm like, wait.
[56:26] Speaker 2: Whoa, whoa, whoa.
[56:27] Speaker 4: He talks about a lot of people.
[56:28] Speaker 2: You did that.
[56:30] Speaker 3: You did that. Your MVP came because you got on
[56:34] Speaker 3: a better team, so the record.
[56:35] Speaker 4: He also went to Houston and tried to get.
[56:37] Speaker 2: And then he tried to go to Houston and get
[56:38] Speaker 2: a championship.
[56:39] Speaker 3: Yeah.
[56:40] Speaker 4: So, I mean, He talks about Braun stacking his team.
[56:45] Speaker 4: He's trying to go to good teams.
[56:47] Speaker 3: It's like the people who are tearing the resumes down.
[56:51] Speaker 4: This is why he has an issue with hypocrites.
[56:53] Speaker 3: Saying people who's doing the same, like, you did it.
[56:55] Speaker 2: Like, I've watched it. I go through history.
[56:57] Speaker 5: Even if it's a slight swag, you can't have some hypocritical.
[57:01] Speaker 5: He tried to go to Portland, but he didn't go.
[57:03] Speaker 4: He ended up going to Phoenix.
[57:04] Speaker 2: No, he tried to go to Phoenix.
[57:05] Speaker 6: Phoenix team is not a super team, though.
[57:06] Speaker 3: Well, consider them back then. If you go to their...
[57:11] Speaker 3: That team was like... Go to the resume. They were
[57:13] Speaker 3: a good team.
[57:14] Speaker 4: No, go to the resume.
[57:14] Speaker 6: They were like this Houston team with KD.
[57:17] Speaker 2: Go to the.
[57:18] Speaker 3: No, no, no. Go to the resident. It was a
[57:20] Speaker 3: good team. Dan Marley, Kevin Johnson. Like, look at their
[57:25] Speaker 3: records before he got there. Listen to this shit. Like,
[57:28] Speaker 3: playing one year.
[57:30] Speaker 2: Being good.
[57:30] Speaker 3: Look at this shit.
[57:32] Speaker 6: Dan Marley.
[57:33] Speaker 2: When did he come? 92, 93, I believe? Yes.
[57:35] Speaker 1: So they were lost in the conference semis. They made
[57:38] Speaker 1: the playoffs one, two, three, four straight seasons before he came.
[57:43] Speaker 2: Their record.
[57:43] Speaker 1: 56... Like I said, 55-27, 54-28, 55-27. That's not a
[57:50] Speaker 1: super team.
[57:51] Speaker 5: In the Western Conference, you're going to a team that
[57:56] Speaker 5: won 50? That's like KD going to this Houston team.
[58:00] Speaker 3: 56 wins?
[58:01] Speaker 2: No!
[58:01] Speaker 3: 56, four years in a row winning 50. Who was that?
[58:03] Speaker 4: Houston wasn't that good before that. Who was that? Who
[58:06] Speaker 4: was that right now? It was number three. 56 is
[58:08] Speaker 4: like number two.
[58:10] Speaker 1: Back in those days, I was like fourth seed, fifth seed.
[58:11] Speaker 1: I'm just saying, those 50 wins only get you to
[58:13] Speaker 1: fourth seed.
[58:14] Speaker 3: When?
[58:14] Speaker 4: Back then, yeah.
[58:15] Speaker 2: Back then. So they're the number two. But they're the
[58:17] Speaker 2: number two team in the.
[58:17] Speaker 4: 56 wins a lot of wins.
[58:19] Speaker 3: So you're saying... So that's like him going to... That's
[58:22] Speaker 3: like him going to Denver Nuggets. Man, hell no.
[58:25] Speaker 6: Stop, man.
[58:26] Speaker 3: Fuck. Not even Denver Nuggets. I compare Dan Marley to
[58:29] Speaker 3: fucking Joker. Kevin Johnson, Dan Marley, Hornacek. But I'm saying... Who?
[58:35] Speaker 3: Average of 28 games, Swaggy. Jeff Hornacek used to get
[58:38] Speaker 3: to work. Jeff Hornacek, yo. You gotta respect Jeff Hornacek, bro.
[58:41] Speaker 2: 44% for three.
[58:42] Speaker 3: Can you read? Listen, before he... Jeff Hornacek was nice, bro.
[58:45] Speaker 3: Before he gets there, look at this team's record. 50 what?
[58:48] Speaker 3: 50 wins. Multiple.
[58:49] Speaker 4: They had.
[58:52] Speaker 2: Four straight 51 seasons.
[58:54] Speaker 3: Four years. You're literally going to a team that is
[58:58] Speaker 3: guaranteed now to go.
[59:00] Speaker 2: To the finals.
[59:01] Speaker 4: Houston wasn't one of the games before KD got there.
[59:03] Speaker 2: Between third and fifth in the West.
[59:05] Speaker 3: Who? Houston. That's like Houston.
[59:06] Speaker 4: Before KD went there, they was number three?
[59:08] Speaker 2: They were 2C, right?
[59:10] Speaker 4: No, that was with KD, no?
[59:11] Speaker 3: No, that's that. But we're talking about four years straight.
[59:13] Speaker 3: Four years means this team is a legit team. They're
[59:16] Speaker 3: missing something.
[59:17] Speaker 4: Oh, they were 2C.
[59:18] Speaker 3: They were 2C. We're not talking about they're missing something.
[59:21] Speaker 3: So when you're talking about if we look at this
[59:23] Speaker 3: team today and said we have one of the best
[59:26] Speaker 3: scores in the game and they come to a team,
[59:29] Speaker 3: A team that's been that fucking consistent is only OKC
[59:36] Speaker 3: or Denver.
[59:38] Speaker 4: Yeah, Denver, San Antonio.
[59:39] Speaker 3: It's the only two teams in the last four years.
[59:41] Speaker 6: That's not the same.
[59:42] Speaker 3: It is. It's the only two teams that's winning 50-something
[59:46] Speaker 3: games every year.
[59:46] Speaker 4: Four years.
[59:47] Speaker 3: OKC or Denver.
[59:49] Speaker 6: The names is not the same.
[59:50] Speaker 3: Not the names. We're talking about the team. The team success.
[59:54] Speaker 3: The team success. I'm adding the top score.
[59:57] Speaker 2: One of the top scores.
[59:57] Speaker 4: I guess it's similar to what you're saying. That's what
[59:59] Speaker 4: I'm saying. Similar to KD going to Houston, I guess
[1:00:01] Speaker 4: is what you're saying.
[1:00:02] Speaker 3: If it was winning four years in a row.
[1:00:04] Speaker 4: I'm talking about the record every year. They lost the
[1:00:06] Speaker 4: first round. Was it to who? Was it Golden State?
[1:00:09] Speaker 6: Yes, that's right.
[1:00:09] Speaker 3: Golden State. Seven games.
[1:00:11] Speaker 4: And Golden State went and played Minnesota, right? And Steph
[1:00:13] Speaker 4: got hurt with a hamstring.
[1:00:14] Speaker 3: That's like going to Minnesota. Huh?
[1:00:18] Speaker 2: It's like him going to Minnesota.
[1:00:19] Speaker 4: Yeah, Minnesota going to conference finals back-to-back.
[1:00:21] Speaker 3: Yeah, it's like him going to Minnesota. We're not talking
[1:00:25] Speaker 3: about the name.
[1:00:25] Speaker 6: That's what I'm talking about.
[1:00:26] Speaker 2: Them niggas, they were good back then.
[1:00:28] Speaker 3: They were, but... You can't bring up Dan Marley to
[1:00:32] Speaker 3: Steph Curry.
[1:00:33] Speaker 4: That's what I'm saying.
[1:00:34] Speaker 3: This is the Gillen swag experience. We got one more topic.
[1:00:37] Speaker 3: We're talking about Dan Marley.
[1:00:38] Speaker 4: Dan Marley was nice.
[1:00:40] Speaker 3: You're talking about comparison.
[1:00:42] Speaker 2: Now we're talking about then. Dan Marley back then was
[1:00:45] Speaker 2: then an MVP candidate.
[1:00:46] Speaker 4: Dan Marley was nice, Swag.
[1:00:47] Speaker 3: He was.
[1:00:48] Speaker 6: I was just saying the names, you can't compare them.
[1:00:51] Speaker 2: That's what I'm saying.
[1:00:53] Speaker 3: If you won 54 games four years in a row,
[1:00:59] Speaker 3: you're a dominant team. You're a piece away from a champion.
[1:01:02] Speaker 1: Top three to top five in the West are in
[1:01:04] Speaker 1: that point. But let's keep this thing moving. Time to
[1:01:07] Speaker 1: try and finesse some bread on Polymarket. This is put
[1:01:11] Speaker 1: that on something. We're going to give you some trades
[1:01:13] Speaker 1: on the Polymarket app. You got to pick a side
[1:01:15] Speaker 1: and put that on something. So we talked about the
[1:01:18] Speaker 1: new look wizard squad earlier in the show. You guys
[1:01:21] Speaker 1: had varying opinions of how you think they'll perform this season.
[1:01:24] Speaker 1: Washington has won 35 games in the past two seasons combined.
[1:01:27] Speaker 1: This season their win projection is 36 games.
[1:01:32] Speaker 2: So let's take that to the couch.
[1:01:34] Speaker 1: Will the Wizards win at least 36 games this season?
[1:01:38] Speaker 4: Come on, man.
[1:01:40] Speaker 3: 36?
[1:01:40] Speaker 4: At 17, you add AD and Trey. We can't get
[1:01:42] Speaker 4: them 36?
[1:01:44] Speaker 2: 36 games.
[1:01:46] Speaker 4: I said, well, they're going to double, so 34. But
[1:01:48] Speaker 4: I'll give them 36. They got to get 36. AD
[1:01:51] Speaker 4: contract year, he's got to play 55 games.
[1:01:53] Speaker 3: I'll give them 36.
[1:01:54] Speaker 4: They got to get 36 games.
[1:01:55] Speaker 6: They got to be 36.
[1:01:57] Speaker 2: 36 games for the Washington Wizards, Swaggy. AJ DeBonsa.
[1:02:00] Speaker 3: I'll give them 36.
[1:02:02] Speaker 2: AD.
[1:02:03] Speaker 3: Two trays. Most 30 games. Keyshawn. 36. Bilal.
[1:02:09] Speaker 4: Alex Saar.
[1:02:10] Speaker 2: Bilal.
[1:02:11] Speaker 3: Number zero, Bilal?
[1:02:12] Speaker 2: Bilal. I'm pumping the time.
[1:02:15] Speaker 3: You're about to say 56.
[1:02:18] Speaker 4: Get what you got, no?
[1:02:18] Speaker 3: 36?
[1:02:18] Speaker 4: I will put the house on. What?
[1:02:19] Speaker 3: 36 games. I got the house. That was one of
[1:02:21] Speaker 3: those things where you... I'm putting our baby on it.
[1:02:31] Speaker 3: I'm putting our baby on it. We have a baby.
[1:02:34] Speaker 3: It's going on it.
[1:02:36] Speaker 6: Yeah, put that French mother.
[1:02:38] Speaker 3: Put that French on it.
[1:02:41] Speaker 2: The French baby.
[1:02:42] Speaker 3: The French future baby on it.
[1:02:43] Speaker 2: On the Wizards winning 36 games. Yes.
[1:02:46] Speaker 1: And Adam Silver's national basketball session is a much tougher
[1:02:49] Speaker 1: Easter conference.
[1:02:51] Speaker 2: But we have all agreed on this conference.
[1:02:53] Speaker 3: I believe in Trey. I see what Trey do.
[1:02:56] Speaker 2: I see what Trey do. Trey does have a chip
[1:02:58] Speaker 2: on his shoulder. It's 212.
[1:03:00] Speaker 3: So does AD. You're talking about two guys who bottom
[1:03:03] Speaker 3: line is a double-double. Yeah. I'm going to take my chance.
[1:03:08] Speaker 4: Yeah, 36 for sure, bro. All right.
[1:03:11] Speaker 2: You heard it on this couch. Ladies and gentlemen, you
[1:03:13] Speaker 2: make the choice. The choice is yours. Yours alone.
[1:03:16] Speaker 1: That was Put That On Something presented by Holly Market.

[1:03:35] Speaker 2: Hold on.
[1:03:37] Speaker 3: Can I get my account?
[1:03:38] Speaker 2: I need to put the baby on it.
[1:03:40] Speaker 3: Hey, Polymarket, can you give me my account?
[1:03:43] Speaker 1: I'm putting our baby on it. You got to put
[1:03:45] Speaker 1: bread down. Polymarket does not accept babies as a form
[1:03:48] Speaker 1: of payment. Oh, prediction market. How much is the baby
[1:03:52] Speaker 1: going for these days?
[1:03:54] Speaker 6: About $ 15, 000.
[1:03:54] Speaker 2: That's it? Nah. A little baby?
[1:03:58] Speaker 3: That's going to be about seven foot?
[1:04:00] Speaker 1: Nah.
[1:04:01] Speaker 3: They ain't got a six footer over there.
[1:04:02] Speaker 1: But 18 years of investment before you even see a
[1:04:05] Speaker 1: return on it.
[1:04:06] Speaker 3: I'll trade it. They don't believe in us.
[1:04:08] Speaker 2: You got to pay $ 20 parking.
[1:04:10] Speaker 3: $ 20 parking, Fred.
[1:04:10] Speaker 5: I need to put that in. It's just the Wizards
[1:04:15] Speaker 5: going Wizards. That's the only thing people do.
[1:04:17] Speaker 4: You think they curse, bro?
[1:04:18] Speaker 3: Wizards going Wizards. Wizards going Wizards.
[1:04:21] Speaker 1: All right, the Wizards going Wizards. So, Gil, as we
[1:04:24] Speaker 1: stated yesterday, Mostly Fans is back. And we got a
[1:04:28] Speaker 1: new special feature.
[1:04:31] Speaker 3: This is not the special feature. This is like a feature. Mostly.
[1:04:36] Speaker 3: This is the bottom line of the feature.
[1:04:37] Speaker 6: You got something else for me?
[1:04:39] Speaker 3: If this is not the special feature, you got something
[1:04:41] Speaker 3: else for me?
[1:04:41] Speaker 2: No, what this feature can do.
[1:04:44] Speaker 3: I'm just teasing the feature right now. You see them hearts?
[1:04:47] Speaker 2: You see them hearts?
[1:04:48] Speaker 3: I'm just teasing.
[1:04:48] Speaker 2: Shout out to our crew. Hold on.
[1:04:49] Speaker 1: Let me put my reading glasses on. I was getting
[1:04:51] Speaker 1: packed up in the chat yesterday. I'm visually impaired nowadays.
[1:04:55] Speaker 4: We're going to get some LASIK, bro.
[1:04:57] Speaker 6: Nah.
[1:04:57] Speaker 4: We got you, bro.
[1:04:58] Speaker 2: I'm an old school gentleman.
[1:05:00] Speaker 3: You have bad eyes.
[1:05:01] Speaker 2: You have bad eyes. What are y'all doing in y'all eyes?
[1:05:02] Speaker 2: Looking at you all day, Gil, as you know.
[1:05:04] Speaker 3: Y'all used to have a lazy eye. Yeah, yeah.
[1:05:09] Speaker 2: That's it.
[1:05:09] Speaker 3: That's it, man.
[1:05:12] Speaker 1: So we've got Run Them Jewels Banks 3563 said, y'all
[1:05:17] Speaker 1: better argue today. I think you guys did accomplish that.
[1:05:21] Speaker 2: Helped him. We got Angel Prey.
[1:05:28] Speaker 1: At Angel Prey, Believe Hustle said, would y'all rather be
[1:05:31] Speaker 1: a three-time league MVP or two-time NBA Finals MVP?
[1:05:37] Speaker 3: Come on now. Finals MVP. Is those three MVPs in
[1:05:44] Speaker 3: a row? Because then I'm better than Bird.
[1:05:46] Speaker 4: Three-time MVP, he says?
[1:05:47] Speaker 3: I'm on the three.
[1:05:48] Speaker 4: It's two-time league or two-time? Both two-time.
[1:05:50] Speaker 1: This was Andrew, our number one hater on Playback Guild
[1:05:53] Speaker 1: back in the playback days.
[1:05:54] Speaker 4: It's two-time league or two-time?
[1:05:55] Speaker 1: Would y'all rather be three-time league MVP or two-time? NBA
[1:06:00] Speaker 1: Finals MVP.
[1:06:00] Speaker 3: God.
[1:06:01] Speaker 1: Yeah, I'll take the league MVP. So three league MVPs
[1:06:03] Speaker 1: or two NBA Finals MVPs. I'm taking three league MVPs.
[1:06:06] Speaker 1: Three regular season MVPs or two championships with Finals MVP.
[1:06:09] Speaker 4: There you go, Swag.
[1:06:10] Speaker 3: Right on brand, bro.
[1:06:11] Speaker 2: Yeah, you back.
[1:06:12] Speaker 3: You back. You back. You got to be on brand.
[1:06:14] Speaker 3: You can't talk.
[1:06:15] Speaker 4: Yeah, it's two chips and two Finals MVP.
[1:06:20] Speaker 6: I'm the GOAT down there.
[1:06:23] Speaker 1: All right, so whose expectation did the media make higher,
[1:06:27] Speaker 1: Young LeBron or Wimby?
[1:06:28] Speaker 2: Angel also wants to know.
[1:06:30] Speaker 3: Who expectations?
[1:06:31] Speaker 2: LeBron.
[1:06:32] Speaker 3: Ooh. And his expectations? Baby Wimmy.
[1:06:36] Speaker 6: Huh?
[1:06:37] Speaker 3: Baby Wimmy might be.
[1:06:38] Speaker 4: I think they brought the damn same.
[1:06:40] Speaker 6: No.
[1:06:41] Speaker 2: No, I was there.
[1:06:42] Speaker 3: They put the number one player ever and the number
[1:06:48] Speaker 3: one point guard ever in the same one person.
[1:06:51] Speaker 2: He is supposed to be.
[1:06:52] Speaker 3: The next magic with Jordan-like ability. So you got goat
[1:06:59] Speaker 3: and goat in a position and the goat goat.
[1:07:01] Speaker 4: They talk about Wemby being the greatest of all, like
[1:07:04] Speaker 4: in a category of his own, unicorn, best defensive player
[1:07:06] Speaker 4: to your NMVPs multiple times.
[1:07:09] Speaker 3: First unanimous defense. But that's when he started playing, playing.
[1:07:13] Speaker 3: They didn't do that when coming in. Remember, he signed
[1:07:16] Speaker 3: a $ 100 million shoe contract coming in. That man was hated.
[1:07:20] Speaker 4: They gave 1B a lot of hype, too, though.
[1:07:22] Speaker 3: I'll say that.
[1:07:23] Speaker 4: Braun, for sure. But 1B got a lot of hype
[1:07:25] Speaker 4: coming out. Being 16, 17, he was busting Rudy Gobert ass.
[1:07:29] Speaker 3: Yeah, but we still got a little taste of it.
[1:07:33] Speaker 3: He wasn't here, you know what I mean? When Scoot
[1:07:35] Speaker 3: Henderson was scoring, we was like, oh, K.
[1:07:37] Speaker 2: Scoot, you know what I mean? No, I get it.
[1:07:39] Speaker 4: So, Brian, yeah, Brian for sure.
[1:07:40] Speaker 2: All right, let's keep it moving.
[1:07:41] Speaker 1: We have a super chat from at Curtis Bowman 3718. Said,
[1:07:47] Speaker 1: national narrative focuses on AD and Trey, but it's really
[1:07:50] Speaker 1: still about the last five picks the Wiz have had.
[1:07:53] Speaker 1: President Michael Winger helped build the Clippers till 2023. GM
[1:07:57] Speaker 1: Will Dawkins was in OKC till 23. They're still building.
[1:08:00] Speaker 1: Not a question, just trying to show. I'm going to
[1:08:04] Speaker 1: just be honest. I mean, outside of Sar, OK, and Trey,
[1:08:09] Speaker 1: Who's the other two niggas that got drafted over there?
[1:08:11] Speaker 1: They had some top picks.
[1:08:12] Speaker 3: I don't know.
[1:08:12] Speaker 2: I mean, we know they had some top picks.
[1:08:14] Speaker 3: I know they had four. He said five.
[1:08:19] Speaker 2: Oh, but.
[1:08:19] Speaker 4: I don't know. I didn't know they were that high.
[1:08:22] Speaker 2: He was a lottery.
[1:08:24] Speaker 3: For real?
[1:08:24] Speaker 2: Yeah, he was a lottery.
[1:08:25] Speaker 4: I know Bilal was a lottery. Trey Johnson was a lottery.
[1:08:28] Speaker 2: Yeah.
[1:08:28] Speaker 3: The Wizards going to win. Keyshawn.
[1:08:30] Speaker 4: Keyshawn was lottery.
[1:08:31] Speaker 3: The Wizards going to win.
[1:08:32] Speaker 2: I don't remember where he got drafted.
[1:08:33] Speaker 6: Bub Carrington, I believe, was lottery. Bud.
[1:08:36] Speaker 3: Bud. Bud.
[1:08:37] Speaker 2: No, Keyshawn was 24th pick, but.
[1:08:39] Speaker 3: Bud. I forgot about Bud.
[1:08:40] Speaker 2: Bub Carrington. Bub. Bub, not Bud.
[1:08:42] Speaker 3: Bud. Bud.

[1:09:35] Speaker 1: and LeBron in a two-on-two?
[1:09:39] Speaker 3: Ooh, two-on-two. That's a different skill. LeBron's just going to
[1:09:43] Speaker 3: give it to Dwyane Wade. All right. You can stop
[1:09:47] Speaker 3: doing that.
[1:09:47] Speaker 4: I'm going, I'm going Bron and Wade.
[1:09:49] Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm going Bron and Wade. Bron and Wade.
