Victor Wembanyama's MASTERPIECE Dazzles Gil's Arena as the Gil's Arena Crew react to an electric Game One of the Western Conference Finals as Victor Wembanyama put on an NBA Playoff performance for the ages to steal Game One from the OKC Thunder and break down what statement the Alien made on Shai Gilgeous Alexander's MVP Night. They also break down the perfomance from Dylan Harper as the young guard for the San Antonio Spurs played his best game in the Double OT Thriller and discuss if the OKC Thunder should be concerned by Shai's lackluster Game 1 or if the back to back MVP was simply shaking the rust off after a long break. Next, they highlight Shai's historic MVP win, sparking debates on if the Canadian Superstar is the best player in the world right now and a top 3 point guard in NBA History before giving their take on Shams breaking the SGA MVP news nearly 12 hours before the official announcement. Finally, they react to the viral clip of Anthony Edwards shaking hands with the San Antonio Spurs with 8 minutes left in their Game 6 blowout and debate if the Timberwolves superstar was overstepping with this immature action before breaking down the Cleveland Cavaliers Game 7 win over the Detroit Pistons where Donovan Mitchell proved he's a #1 option by carrying James Harden and the Cavs to an improbable Western Conference Finals against the Knicks. [0:35] Speaker 4: Representing Tough Crowd, Tough Crowd Golf, and a card-carrying country
[0:39] Speaker 4: club member, we got Mr. B, Brandon Jennings. On this
[0:44] Speaker 4: side of the couch, we got the distinguished gentleman from
[0:46] Speaker 4: Oak Cliff, former number one pick, Kenyon Martin.
[0:48] Speaker 1: Back here with us. What's happening, Mike?
[0:53] Speaker 4: Last but not least, the man they call Cemetery Larry.
[0:57] Speaker 4: Dressed to impress today, NCAA champion of the world, Dr.
[1:00] Speaker 4: Rashad McCants, PhD.
[1:01] Speaker 1: Yes!
[1:10] Speaker 2: You're doing wrong.
[1:13] Speaker 1: Who's bad? Who is bad?
[1:17] Speaker 2: Who's fucking bad? Who's fucking bad? I'm going to tell
[1:21] Speaker 2: you who's fucking bad.
[1:23] Speaker 1: Go ahead. Yes, a certain Frenchman.
[1:26] Speaker 5: Yeah.
[1:27] Speaker 1: We got a lot to discuss here. Just beat it.
[1:29] Speaker 1: Just beat it. Just beat it. That's it. We got
[1:33] Speaker 1: a lot to discuss.
[1:34] Speaker 4: Here's what's cracking in Gil's arena today.
[1:37] Speaker 3: Wimby.
[1:38] Speaker 4: Delivered a historic performance to help the Spurs steal home court.
[1:41] Speaker 1: On the defending champs.
[1:43] Speaker 4: What statement did San Antonio make in Game 1 of
[1:45] Speaker 4: the Western Conference Finals? SGA won his second straight MVP,
[1:51] Speaker 4: but is he the best player in the league right now?
[1:55] Speaker 4: And the Cavs stunned the Pistons with a blowout win
[1:57] Speaker 4: in Game 7, but does Cleveland have enough to reach
[2:00] Speaker 4: their first Finals? Since 2018, Knicks waiting in the wings.
[2:04] Speaker 4: We will discuss, but before we get into all that,
[2:06] Speaker 4: as always, the show is brought to you by Underdog. Underdog,

[2:28] Speaker 1: So we're going to get right to it.
[2:30] Speaker 4: Top two teams in the league squared off for game
[2:33] Speaker 4: one of the Western Conference Finals, just the third time
[2:35] Speaker 4: this century that two 60-win teams have met in the
[2:38] Speaker 4: conference finals. Spurs boasted a 4-1 record against the Thunder
[2:41] Speaker 4: in the regular season, including a semifinal win in the
[2:44] Speaker 4: NBA Cup, while the Thunder entered this matchup with nine
[2:47] Speaker 4: straight playoff wins, sweeping the first two rounds of this postseason.
[2:51] Speaker 4: OKC got some good news before the game with the
[2:53] Speaker 4: return of Jalen Williams, who was back on the court
[2:56] Speaker 4: for the first time since April 22nd as he recovered
[2:58] Speaker 4: from a hamstring strain. Meanwhile, San Antonio without Darren Fox
[3:03] Speaker 4: for this one as he was a late scratch with
[3:05] Speaker 4: ankle soreness. Spurs rolled out the youngest starting lineup in
[3:09] Speaker 4: NBA history for the conference finals and the youths held
[3:12] Speaker 4: on to give the defending champs their first loss of
[3:15] Speaker 4: this postseason, spoiling SGA's MVP trophy presentation in what proved
[3:20] Speaker 4: to be one of the best games in NBA playoff history.
[3:24] Speaker 4: Let's take a look at the highlights of which there
[3:26] Speaker 4: were plenty. Spurs got to work early opening the game
[3:29] Speaker 4: on a 10-3 run, but the Thunder shook off the
[3:32] Speaker 4: rust from their week-long break, even things up at 27
[3:37] Speaker 4: after the first frame. Wimby put up a double-double in
[3:39] Speaker 4: the first half with 14 points and 10 boards. Once again,
[3:42] Speaker 4: dominant on both sides of the ball. Spurs outscored the
[3:44] Speaker 4: Thunder 24-17 in the second quarter. Alex Caruso, big off
[3:49] Speaker 4: the bench in the first half for OKC, dropping 16
[3:51] Speaker 4: points while going four for seven from three in that
[3:54] Speaker 4: first half. SGA struggled to find his offensive rhythm, held
[3:58] Speaker 4: it just four points on one of five shooting in
[4:00] Speaker 4: the first half as the Spurs took a seven-point lead
[4:02] Speaker 4: into the break, held OKC to 36% from the field, 27%
[4:06] Speaker 4: from three in those first two quarters. Thunder started to
[4:10] Speaker 4: click in the third, though, briefly taking a lead, but
[4:12] Speaker 4: the Spurs went back up seven after the third frame.
[4:15] Speaker 4: Wimby delivered the best playoff game of his young career,
[4:18] Speaker 4: putting up a game-high 41 points in 49 minutes of action,
[4:20] Speaker 4: 14-25 from the field, 12-13 from the line. Alien also
[4:26] Speaker 4: had 24 boards, including nine on the offensive end. Wimby,
[4:30] Speaker 4: the youngest player in NBA history with a 40-20 game.
[4:33] Speaker 4: Dylan Harper did work, too, in his first career playoff start,
[4:36] Speaker 4: filling in for De'Aaron Fox.
[4:38] Speaker 1: 24-11 rebound, six assists, seven steals.
[4:41] Speaker 4: Second rookie with 20-10, five and five in a playoff game.
[4:44] Speaker 4: Joining Magic Johnson, only rookie with seven steals in a
[4:48] Speaker 4: conference finals game. Tafon Castle, 17-11 in a Spurs playoff record,
[4:52] Speaker 4: 11 steals. Thunder, meanwhile, only had three players scoring double figures.
[4:58] Speaker 4: SGA 24, five steals. This one went down to the wire,
[5:02] Speaker 4: ladies and gentlemen. End of regulation, Chet blocked Wimby to
[5:05] Speaker 4: send it to OT. Started a little slow in the
[5:07] Speaker 4: overtime period until Stephon Castle dunked on SGA to get
[5:11] Speaker 4: things rolling. SGA returned the favor later in the overtime period.
[5:15] Speaker 4: The Spurs down three, 26 seconds remaining. Wimby with the
[5:19] Speaker 4: Steph Curry-esque low-goal three-pointer. Descended to double OT in the
[5:25] Speaker 4: double overtime period. Wimby, nine points for the Spurs, including
[5:30] Speaker 4: some impressive dunks. As we see here, caught Chet Holmgren
[5:37] Speaker 4: slipping like a banana peel. With the and one, put
[5:41] Speaker 4: the Spurs up four.
[5:44] Speaker 1: In this game. Mm. Mm, mm, mm, mm.
[5:51] Speaker 4: Santa Turner handed OKC their first lost his postseason. After
[5:55] Speaker 4: the game, Wimby had this reaction to the Game 1
[5:58] Speaker 4: thriller and his historic performance.
[6:01] Speaker 6: Mitch was saying that it's a pretty natural response for
[6:03] Speaker 6: a competitor to see another competitor get something that he wants,
[6:07] Speaker 6: whether it's the MVP.
[6:07] Speaker 3: Trophy or whatever it might be.
[6:08] Speaker 6: I'm just curious if that was in your mind at all,
[6:11] Speaker 6: knowing that Shea had got that award and you were
[6:13] Speaker 6: in the top three for it. Did any part of
[6:16] Speaker 6: tonight feel personal? Some of your facial expressions kind of
[6:19] Speaker 6: looked like you were really, really going for it.
[6:22] Speaker 7: Yeah, for sure.
[6:23] Speaker 3: Everything you just said.
[6:24] Speaker 1: It feels like I still got a lot to learn.
[6:33] Speaker 4: And I want to get that trophy many times in
[6:35] Speaker 4: my career.
[6:36] Speaker 5: If your performance tonight had a message behind it, what
[6:39] Speaker 5: would that message be?
[6:41] Speaker 1: The message would be.
[6:44] Speaker 4: That we as a team are ready to go in
[6:48] Speaker 4: any environment, in any place, against anybody, even though we
[6:51] Speaker 4: still got a lot to learn.
[6:53] Speaker 3: Our effort should be over anybody else's.
[6:57] Speaker 1: And tonight we were relentless.
[7:00] Speaker 4: Spurs held the Thunder 41% from the field, 38% from three.
[7:04] Speaker 4: I scored them 52-38 points in the paint. Shall we
[7:09] Speaker 4: see when we be up there? SGA's MVP trophy presentation
[7:13] Speaker 4: night before game one of the Western Conference Finals proceeded
[7:16] Speaker 4: to put belt to SGA and the Thunder's ass. to
[7:20] Speaker 4: help the Spurs get that win, take a 1-0 series lead,
[7:22] Speaker 4: still home court. What were your biggest takeaways from the Spurs'
[7:25] Speaker 4: double overtime win over the Thunder in OKC to take
[7:28] Speaker 4: game one?
[7:30] Speaker 2: Well, I want to be starting something right now because
[7:37] Speaker 2: from the beginning of the season, I've been harping on
[7:40] Speaker 2: the San Antonio Spurs being ready for these moments. There's
[7:44] Speaker 2: a lot of people in the public media, private media,
[7:47] Speaker 2: podcast media that has denied this particular prediction.
[7:51] Speaker 1: And where we are right now. And I think they
[7:53] Speaker 1: all should be held accountable.
[7:55] Speaker 2: Everybody that's doubted these moments from first round exits to
[8:00] Speaker 2: second round exits to they're too young to be in
[8:03] Speaker 2: this position and they can't handle the OKC Thunder. They're
[8:08] Speaker 2: going to be too tired when they get there. Particularly
[8:12] Speaker 2: the alien, the half man, half amazing, half player.
[8:18] Speaker 1: Full throttle. Victor Wamba Wamba. Wamba Wamba. Oui, oui. French
[8:23] Speaker 1: kisses on French bitches. We do this.
[8:27] Speaker 2: When we talk about being prepared for the moment, there's
[8:31] Speaker 2: one defining moment of that whole series that I would say,
[8:35] Speaker 2: or this particular game, that I would say changed everything,
[8:38] Speaker 2: which was Victor Wimbanyana diving on the loose ball in
[8:42] Speaker 2: which the ball went out on SGA's foot, I believe.
[8:45] Speaker 2: Chet's foot, I believe. And that changed the dynamic of
[8:49] Speaker 2: the game when it comes from effort, competitiveness, I really
[8:53] Speaker 2: want this. He exhibited a lot of Kobe Bryant, mama mentality,
[8:58] Speaker 2: energy the whole game. When you get to see somebody
[9:01] Speaker 2: get an award right in front of your face based
[9:04] Speaker 2: on media bias. And I think that Victor Wimignana did
[9:10] Speaker 2: exactly what he's supposed to do, come out there and
[9:12] Speaker 2: show the world who I really am and what I
[9:15] Speaker 2: really bring to this team.
[9:17] Speaker 1: What I really bring to this league.
[9:19] Speaker 2: 41 and 24 is the first time any debuted player
[9:25] Speaker 2: scored that many and rebounded that many since Will Chamberlain.
[9:30] Speaker 2: And when you got a guy out there doing that
[9:31] Speaker 2: kind of stuff and then you got Dylan Harper stepping
[9:33] Speaker 2: up the way he stepped up, 24, 11, 7, and 6.
[9:37] Speaker 2: Now even though Stephon Castle had 11 turnovers, he wasn't
[9:41] Speaker 2: primed and prepped for that position because De'Aaron Fox was out.
[9:45] Speaker 2: But guess what we still did? We persevered completely. So
[9:52] Speaker 2: everybody else just got to beat it because it ain't
[9:56] Speaker 2: working no more. Everybody want to say what the Spurs
[10:00] Speaker 2: aren't and what Wimby don't do and how it don't work,
[10:02] Speaker 2: but it worked.
[10:04] Speaker 1: It worked last night.
[10:05] Speaker 3: But guess what?
[10:05] Speaker 2: It's just one game because if we don't win, I'm
[10:07] Speaker 2: not here in this outfit.
[10:10] Speaker 1: Can you feel it?
[10:11] Speaker 3: I can feel it.
[10:11] Speaker 1: Can you feel it? I can't feel it. Can you
[10:13] Speaker 1: feel it?
[10:13] Speaker 2: I can't feel it. Not yet, not yet, not yet,
[10:15] Speaker 2: not yet. We moonwalking on motherfuckers right now. We're going
[10:17] Speaker 2: to ask you if you had a moonwalk plan for today.
[10:19] Speaker 2: I do, I do, but I'm going to wait. You
[10:22] Speaker 2: know what I'm saying? It's the first game. It's the
[10:24] Speaker 2: first game. We ain't tripping. We know a lot of
[10:26] Speaker 2: people can't say a lot of things right now. Nobody
[10:28] Speaker 2: wants to be accountable for their words, but it's game one.
[10:32] Speaker 2: We went in there and we stole one. We got
[10:34] Speaker 2: to go back, be prepared for the next game. We
[10:37] Speaker 2: did what we supposed to do. Game plan, let Caruso
[10:39] Speaker 2: shoot him in. Let them shoot them out. SGA did
[10:43] Speaker 2: not look like the MVP last night.
[10:46] Speaker 4: Like we said, only one game, but Kane, let's shift
[10:48] Speaker 4: over to you. Spurs looked like they were in control
[10:50] Speaker 4: for most of that game. Thunder had some opportunities to
[10:54] Speaker 4: take control, but Wimby hitting that big logo three to
[10:57] Speaker 4: send it to that second overtime. Like I said, nine
[10:59] Speaker 4: points in that second overtime to help lift the Spurs
[11:01] Speaker 4: to victory. What were your biggest takeaways from that game?
[11:05] Speaker 1: Biggest takeaways was that the Spurs are Like Wimby said,
[11:11] Speaker 1: they're ready for the moment. They're young. They are inexperienced
[11:15] Speaker 1: as far as postseason play. But like he said, their
[11:19] Speaker 1: effort makes up for that. When you play hard all
[11:23] Speaker 1: the time, you give yourself a chance on the road.
[11:25] Speaker 1: They do that. And his performance, dominant. Shaquille O'Neal-esque. Come
[11:35] Speaker 1: out and dominate and pose your will on the game.
[11:39] Speaker 1: do whatever it takes to win, and Wimby did that. Yeah,
[11:43] Speaker 1: I was one of them people that questioned whether he
[11:44] Speaker 1: can play big minutes, right, whether his endurance would allow
[11:47] Speaker 1: that from him only averaging 28, 29 minutes during the
[11:51] Speaker 1: regular season. He proved it in the first round. Again,
[11:55] Speaker 1: once again, and he's doing it playing, what, 47, 48
[11:59] Speaker 1: minutes last night. It's huge for him and his growth
[12:04] Speaker 1: moving forward. But no, San Antonio is a force to
[12:08] Speaker 1: be reckoned with. And Darren Fox, brother, that other left-handed
[12:15] Speaker 1: boy is going to get you a job. He already
[12:18] Speaker 1: got his job. So you sitting out of playoff games
[12:21] Speaker 1: I don't think is the best. But, hey, that's your prerogative,
[12:25] Speaker 1: young man. But Dylan Harper is doing his one-two out there,
[12:30] Speaker 1: and I like him. Chet. Put your big boy pants on, dog.
[12:39] Speaker 1: You should be embarrassed that the game plan is to
[12:42] Speaker 1: have Luke Dort and Alex Caruso guarding Wimby. You're the
[12:46] Speaker 1: only person out there that can reach the ball they
[12:48] Speaker 1: throw it by the rim or high as they are
[12:50] Speaker 1: throwing it to him. You're the only person out there
[12:52] Speaker 1: that has a chance. Got to grow up for game two, Chet,
[12:57] Speaker 1: because this man coming for your scalp and having me
[13:02] Speaker 1: hold they get game two on y'all floor Scary hours
[13:09] Speaker 1: in San Antonio, but they won it, and they played
[13:11] Speaker 1: well on that floor. So, yeah, and you can't have
[13:15] Speaker 1: just three guys scoring in the double figures if you're OKC.
[13:19] Speaker 1: Alex Caruso played great. You can't rely on that every day.
[13:22] Speaker 1: The rest of them dudes, they forced to make shots,
[13:24] Speaker 1: and they didn't. But, yeah, it was a great overall
[13:30] Speaker 1: basketball game for postseason play. Yeah, I enjoyed every minute
[13:35] Speaker 1: of it. I enjoyed the competition of it. And there
[13:39] Speaker 1: was one particular play that stands out, I think, cost
[13:42] Speaker 1: OKC the game. It was a two-on-one break, and Shea
[13:46] Speaker 1: decided not to pass the ball to Alex Caruso, I
[13:48] Speaker 1: believe was running with him. Looked for the foul and
[13:52] Speaker 1: tricked it off, didn't get the foul nor the layup.
[13:55] Speaker 1: Santonio came right down and scored. So that play right there,
[13:58] Speaker 1: I think, was, if they would have scored them two,
[14:01] Speaker 1: they would have went up like four, I think, four
[14:02] Speaker 1: or six, whatever it was. Very selfish moment. And Reggie
[14:07] Speaker 1: Miller called him out during the game when he did it.
[14:10] Speaker 1: So I'm glad Reggie said it. And I'm like, I'm
[14:13] Speaker 1: thanking Reggie as I'm watching the game because it was
[14:14] Speaker 1: a very selfish moment. A very about me, like watch
[14:19] Speaker 1: me moment. And I think it cost the team the game.
[14:23] Speaker 1: But yeah, the Spurs are there. They're ready. Like I said,
[14:28] Speaker 1: I've been the one who's like, now Wimby's great defensive
[14:30] Speaker 1: and all that thing, but the things he did Late game,
[14:34] Speaker 1: some of the moves he made, decisive moves when he
[14:36] Speaker 1: got the ball around the basket. Showed me what he's about, man.
[14:41] Speaker 1: The dunks, the flexing, and different things that he did. Yeah,
[14:47] Speaker 1: I was thoroughly impressed, man, with his effort, with the
[14:49] Speaker 1: Spurs effort. And they playing with house money in game too, man.
[14:52] Speaker 1: So good luck, OKC. Spurs defense held Thunder starters like 35%
[14:58] Speaker 1: from the field.
[15:00] Speaker 4: Across the board. Chet, like you mentioned, eight points, eight rebounds.
[15:03] Speaker 1: Unacceptable. Unacceptable. Both sides of the ball. You're not going
[15:06] Speaker 1: out and winning, but you're only having seven points. It's unacceptable. Yeah,
[15:12] Speaker 1: it's just what it is at this point. One of
[15:14] Speaker 1: them got to, Hardenstein or Chet, got to grow up
[15:17] Speaker 1: before tomorrow.
[15:19] Speaker 4: Hardenstein, 12 minutes in the game. Yeah, you got to
[15:22] Speaker 4: grow up.
[15:22] Speaker 1: They ain't going to stop him, but you better, hey,
[15:25] Speaker 1: you're the tallest one out there. That's all. You're the
[15:28] Speaker 1: tallest one out there. Where they throwing the ball at,
[15:30] Speaker 1: you're the only one that can, they got a chance
[15:33] Speaker 1: of reaching it. Good luck. Annie, are you okay? Are
[15:38] Speaker 1: you okay, Annie? CPR time?
[15:40] Speaker 3: CPR.
[15:44] Speaker 2: Skip, are you okay? Are you okay, Skippy?
[15:48] Speaker 5: I'll do what Mr. B has to say before I
[15:51] Speaker 5: unleash on the doctor.
[15:54] Speaker 4: Shift on this side of the couch first. Mr. B,
[15:56] Speaker 4: watching that game Spurs, youngest team, youngest starting lineup.
[16:01] Speaker 1: Yeah.
[16:02] Speaker 4: Playoff history. Conference finals, game one, hostile territory. Defending champion,
[16:08] Speaker 4: Oklahoma City Thunder, SGA getting his second straight MVP trophy.
[16:12] Speaker 4: What were your biggest takeaways from the Spurs getting that
[16:15] Speaker 4: double overtime win?
[16:18] Speaker 3: First off, I mean, Wimby's approach.
[16:21] Speaker 8: I mean, if anything, it reminds me of when Hakeem
[16:23] Speaker 8: Olajuwon went into San Antonio when David Robinson was MVP
[16:26] Speaker 8: and He showed.
[16:28] Speaker 3: Up in that series.
[16:29] Speaker 8: That whole series looked different. Last night, they were young.
[16:34] Speaker 8: They were out without Darren Fox, but Harper showed up.
[16:38] Speaker 8: Shout out, what's his.
[16:40] Speaker 3: Name, Bryant?
[16:41] Speaker 1: Carter Bryant.
[16:41] Speaker 8: Carter Bryant for his 13 minutes. It doesn't look like
[16:44] Speaker 8: on the score sheet, but he was 10-plus. The way
[16:47] Speaker 8: he was defending the SGA was amazing. I think the Lakers,
[16:50] Speaker 8: they set the blueprint for how they were playing against SGA,
[16:54] Speaker 8: and Spurs came over and they just did it to
[16:57] Speaker 8: a tee. They had better guards for sure, but it
[17:00] Speaker 8: was from J.J. Redick to me. That's how I feel
[17:03] Speaker 8: like SGA is getting exposed a little bit.
[17:07] Speaker 3: Honestly, both teams shot poorly.
[17:10] Speaker 8: If we really think about it, both teams only shot 47%
[17:14] Speaker 8: and 37% from the three. Chet didn't really show up
[17:17] Speaker 8: at all. If Caruso is going to be the guy
[17:21] Speaker 8: scoring 30 points a night, I can see the Spurs
[17:24] Speaker 8: running away with this Especially if nobody else is going
[17:26] Speaker 8: to step up. Other than that, man, it's just, you know,
[17:32] Speaker 8: they kind of got exposed. And I feel like Wimby
[17:35] Speaker 8: has a lot of vision from watching SGA win MVP.
[17:40] Speaker 8: And I think this is going to be on some
[17:41] Speaker 8: Hakeem Olajuwon type shit.
[17:44] Speaker 4: Both teams shot poorly from the field. Spurs, 27 or
[17:47] Speaker 4: 29 from the free throw line in that game, 93%.
[17:48] Speaker 4: Not only got to the line 19 times, but.
[17:52] Speaker 1: Yeah. Defending without fouling, man. Yeah.
[17:56] Speaker 4: Spurs, Thunder, I see you with the Thunder cap today.
[18:00] Speaker 5: Yeah, I'm probably not objective. I spent the first 18
[18:02] Speaker 5: years of my life in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and I
[18:06] Speaker 5: do love this version of the Thunder as opposed to
[18:09] Speaker 5: the first version with KD and Westbrook and Harden. Unlovable,
[18:14] Speaker 5: really unlikable. But it is my turn now.
[18:21] Speaker 1: Yeah. It's my turn!
[18:26] Speaker 3: Thank you.
[18:29] Speaker 5: So I tweeted just before tip-off last night to your
[18:33] Speaker 5: point that this was a great spot for Victor Wimbanyama
[18:39] Speaker 5: because he had to or he got to watch SGA
[18:43] Speaker 5: get presented a trophy that he deeply, badly thought that
[18:48] Speaker 5: he deserved. And that's what happened last night. He said,
[18:52] Speaker 5: watch this.
[18:54] Speaker 1: Mr.
[18:55] Speaker 3: SGA.
[18:56] Speaker 5: He doesn't like Chet either because he and Chet have
[18:58] Speaker 5: been rivals since they were like eight years of age.
[19:02] Speaker 5: And so it was his moment to be not only inspired,
[19:08] Speaker 5: just to play possessed. And I give him this. He
[19:11] Speaker 5: was all universe, as you guys all point out, because
[19:16] Speaker 5: that was by far the most wire-to-wire fire I've seen
[19:24] Speaker 5: that young man play with, where usually he's got a
[19:27] Speaker 5: few stretches of the game where he fades, he gets
[19:30] Speaker 5: a little tired, whatever. He was on fire from start
[19:34] Speaker 5: to finish of that game. He played the most physical
[19:38] Speaker 5: basketball I have ever seen him play. And I did
[19:42] Speaker 5: take him to task for game one, losing at home
[19:44] Speaker 5: to the Timberwolves when he went 0-8 from three and
[19:47] Speaker 5: 7-24 from the floor and just drifted and drifted outside
[19:54] Speaker 5: and didn't command the paint in the way he commanded
[19:57] Speaker 5: it last night because he took over the paint and
[20:01] Speaker 5: as Josiah pointed out the points in the paint were
[20:03] Speaker 5: just 52 to 38, that's the story. And the boards,
[20:08] Speaker 5: 61 to 40 San Antonio. The Thunder got bullied in
[20:12] Speaker 5: their backyard. I also pointed out in that tweet just
[20:17] Speaker 5: before tip-off that that Oklahoma City has a pattern now
[20:23] Speaker 5: that we've seen in the playoffs. We saw it twice
[20:25] Speaker 5: last year where they have a week off and they
[20:28] Speaker 5: come out just flat and lifeless and out of sync
[20:32] Speaker 5: and rusty, whatever you want to call it. They can't
[20:35] Speaker 5: get in gear for game one. What happened last year
[20:37] Speaker 5: when Joker came to call in Oklahoma City conference semifinals?
[20:41] Speaker 5: Game one at home, they lost to Joker and they
[20:44] Speaker 5: fell behind in that series two games to one and
[20:46] Speaker 5: they won it in seven. What happened in the NBA
[20:51] Speaker 5: finals last year? Game one at home, they lost to
[20:54] Speaker 5: Halliburton and company and they fell behind two games to
[20:57] Speaker 5: one in that series and came back and won it
[21:00] Speaker 5: in seven. The Thunder will come back and win this
[21:04] Speaker 5: series in seven games because that's just the.
[21:07] Speaker 2: Way they are.
[21:08] Speaker 5: And I love it that you're gloating today and you
[21:12] Speaker 5: deserve to gloat for one day, but it is just
[21:14] Speaker 5: one game. Because I need for the Thunder to hear
[21:19] Speaker 5: for 48 hours how they got punked in their building.
[21:23] Speaker 5: They need to hear for 48 hours how they have
[21:26] Speaker 5: no answer for the alien. They need to hear for
[21:30] Speaker 5: 48 hours that Wimbinyama posed on them at the end
[21:35] Speaker 5: of the game. Did you see him pose? Look at
[21:37] Speaker 5: the crowd and just take a moment, take his shot
[21:40] Speaker 5: in the spotlight. I did this. Yep, you did for
[21:44] Speaker 5: one game. And you made the shot of shots. I
[21:50] Speaker 5: immediately tweeted. I said, I've never seen anything like that.
[21:53] Speaker 5: He pulls up on kind of a semi-break and shoots
[21:57] Speaker 5: a 30-footer to tie the game. Are you kidding me?
[22:01] Speaker 5: It's the same guy who shot 35% during the regular
[22:04] Speaker 5: season from three, which ranked 112th in the NBA. So
[22:08] Speaker 5: I can live with that. I'll live with it in
[22:11] Speaker 5: game two. If it comes to game two and he
[22:12] Speaker 5: takes a 30-foot three to tie the game at the
[22:16] Speaker 5: end of regular season, I'll live with it. And they
[22:18] Speaker 5: will live with that. And they'll live with it in
[22:20] Speaker 5: game three and four and five and six and seven.
[22:23] Speaker 5: because he ain't gonna make that very often, but he
[22:26] Speaker 5: made that one, and I give it to you that
[22:28] Speaker 5: he made that one, and that was his night of nights,
[22:31] Speaker 5: and SGA, I'll give SGA an SGF for that game,
[22:36] Speaker 5: because by his standards, by his standards, back-to-back MVPs, You flunked, buddy.
[22:43] Speaker 5: You sucked last night because that was the worst first
[22:46] Speaker 5: half he's played in three years. He was one of
[22:49] Speaker 5: five in the first half. It's just, you put yourself
[22:52] Speaker 5: in a hole with that team. You let them get momentum,
[22:55] Speaker 5: get confidence, and you're going to have a long, hard night.
[22:59] Speaker 5: And I'm glad you brought up De'Aaron Fox because, you know,
[23:03] Speaker 5: I thought I'd hear, oh, well, I didn't have De'Aaron. No, no,
[23:06] Speaker 5: they did have De'Aaron Fox times two. They had that
[23:09] Speaker 5: kid who He is really, really, really good and really fearless.
[23:15] Speaker 5: And those numbers that you read off across the board,
[23:18] Speaker 5: including seven steals, remember he's 6'5, and De'Aaron's, they say
[23:23] Speaker 5: he's 6'3, he doesn't look 6'3, to me, 6'2-ish, right?
[23:26] Speaker 3: Okay.
[23:28] Speaker 5: But Dylan Harper is the truth already at age 20,
[23:32] Speaker 5: and you had two big truths last night, the alien
[23:35] Speaker 5: and the kid, and They took the game over and
[23:39] Speaker 5: they should be very proud of what they did for
[23:42] Speaker 5: one game, one night. One night only. Yet, yet, yet.
[23:48] Speaker 5: Here's my takeaway. Despite all that, despite getting bullied, I
[23:57] Speaker 5: just can't, I couldn't go to sleep because The Oklahoma
[24:01] Speaker 5: City Thunder had four shots to win the game, despite
[24:04] Speaker 5: all that, despite the alien. And you got it. You
[24:07] Speaker 5: got me on that. He was, I mean, 41 and 24.
[24:10] Speaker 5: That's ridiculous. Despite it, as unstoppable as he was, as
[24:17] Speaker 5: much as Chet played weak and small, to your point,
[24:21] Speaker 5: I mean, it's just, it's embarrassing. You know, it's just like,
[24:23] Speaker 5: come on, man. Four shots to win the game. You
[24:29] Speaker 5: brought up the first one. So it's 59 seconds left
[24:34] Speaker 5: in regulation. And SGA did one good thing last night.
[24:38] Speaker 5: He stole the ball, mostly from Steph Castle, who had
[24:41] Speaker 5: 11 turnovers. But SGA had his fifth steal with 59
[24:45] Speaker 5: seconds left. That's pretty good. And it's a two-on-one breakaway
[24:49] Speaker 5: on Castle, who's backpedaling. Okay, so this is the classic
[24:54] Speaker 5: SGA free throw merchant moment. This is where he and-wons you.
[24:59] Speaker 5: And they go up three. It's a tie game at
[25:01] Speaker 5: that point. So this is going to be up three,
[25:03] Speaker 5: but the crowd is going to go berserk. And it's
[25:06] Speaker 5: going to be hard for San Antonio to win the
[25:08] Speaker 5: game if he converts, especially a three-point play. But you've
[25:12] Speaker 5: got to convert a two-point play on a two-on-one, right?
[25:16] Speaker 5: And Caruso, the bald mamba who's just out of his mind,
[25:21] Speaker 5: he's having his Wimby game.
[25:23] Speaker 2: What did you call him?
[25:24] Speaker 1: The bald mamba.
[25:25] Speaker 5: That's what he is.
[25:26] Speaker 1: Yeah.
[25:28] Speaker 5: Okay, well, that's all we got from last night. We
[25:30] Speaker 5: had the ball mamba.
[25:31] Speaker 3: He made 8-3.
[25:32] Speaker 1: Come on.
[25:32] Speaker 5: Right?
[25:32] Speaker 1: Played his ass off, man. He played his ass off, dog.
[25:36] Speaker 1: It's sarcastic.
[25:37] Speaker 5: The ball mamba.
[25:39] Speaker 2: It's sarcastic.
[25:39] Speaker 1: For one night, I gave him that. All right. He
[25:41] Speaker 1: did play that. I gave him that for one night.
[25:43] Speaker 3: He did.
[25:43] Speaker 5: For one night, he played his ass off.
[25:44] Speaker 2: I'm going to call the ball to James.
[25:46] Speaker 1: Okay. All right. Okay.
[25:49] Speaker 5: But here he comes.
[25:50] Speaker 1: Also respectful.
[25:50] Speaker 5: And the one thing about Caruso is... He ain't afraid
[25:54] Speaker 5: of nobody either because he's going on Wimby late in
[25:57] Speaker 5: the first quarter. He's just going on him. He's just
[25:59] Speaker 5: attacking him, and he made two buckets through Wimby. He
[26:03] Speaker 5: doesn't care. So here he comes breaking on the wing,
[26:06] Speaker 5: and at least you've got a dunk, just a little
[26:09] Speaker 5: no-look bounce pass. Just leave it on the floor. He's
[26:12] Speaker 5: just going to slam it, and the crowd's going to
[26:13] Speaker 5: go crazy. Maybe he and ones from the wing.
[26:17] Speaker 3: But no, you can't.
[26:19] Speaker 5: I don't know what happened. He just gagged it, man.
[26:22] Speaker 3: Selfish. Huh?
[26:24] Speaker 1: Selfish.
[26:24] Speaker 5: Okay, it is selfish.
[26:26] Speaker 1: He was being himself. Selfish basketball player. He was being himself.
[26:29] Speaker 1: He was a selfish basketball player.
[26:31] Speaker 5: But he did just win the MVP, and I think
[26:33] Speaker 5: he's also thinking, I got to do this. And plus,
[26:37] Speaker 5: he's missed shot after shot after shot. He says, I'm
[26:40] Speaker 5: going to do this.
[26:41] Speaker 3: High percentage shot.
[26:42] Speaker 1: Yeah.
[26:42] Speaker 3: And remember, remember this.
[26:44] Speaker 1: High percentage. Passing it to Caruso was the high percentage shot.
[26:47] Speaker 3: Okay, it was.
[26:48] Speaker 1: Because Castle stayed on him. Castle never went to Caruso. Nope.
[26:51] Speaker 1: Castle stayed on him the whole time.
[26:52] Speaker 5: He stayed under him.
[26:53] Speaker 1: He forced that shit up. He tried to force the
[26:54] Speaker 1: referee to blow the whistle. No, pass the ball to
[26:57] Speaker 1: the open guy. Yeah. And if Castle come, he'll give
[26:59] Speaker 1: it back to you. I'm pretty sure. If Castle rotates,
[27:02] Speaker 1: he throw it back to you. Get a ball up
[27:04] Speaker 1: early and get it back. You know the fucking drill, Brandon.
[27:07] Speaker 1: There you go. Throw the shit ahead. He's ahead of you.
[27:09] Speaker 1: Get a ball up, y'all, and get it back. Make
[27:11] Speaker 1: him have to make a decision.
[27:13] Speaker 5: Remember, he also won clutch player of the year. So
[27:16] Speaker 5: he's thinking, I'm the clutch player. I got to do
[27:18] Speaker 5: this for my squad, right?
[27:20] Speaker 3: Kobe ain't passing that ball.
[27:22] Speaker 5: No, Kobe's not passing.
[27:23] Speaker 1: He ain't Kobe. Kobe Duncan. His name is Shade. Kobe Duncan.
[27:27] Speaker 2: Kobe taking off. We're not mentioning him in the same reference.
[27:30] Speaker 1: Kobe not trying to get fouled. So the thing about it, right,
[27:33] Speaker 1: if he would have went up, listen, hear me out.
[27:36] Speaker 1: If he would have went up and tried to make
[27:37] Speaker 1: the layup, if he would have went up and tried
[27:39] Speaker 1: to make the layup instead of getting fouled, that's the
[27:41] Speaker 1: right play if you're going to do it. Don't try
[27:43] Speaker 1: to bait him into calling the foul and you blow
[27:46] Speaker 1: the layup either way. Go. So make the right play.
[27:49] Speaker 1: The right play is Kobe going to go straight up
[27:51] Speaker 1: and try to make the play. He ain't going to try.
[27:52] Speaker 1: And if you foul him, you're fouling. He's not going
[27:55] Speaker 1: to try to bait you into a foul and not
[27:56] Speaker 1: make the fucking right play. That is true. I guarantee
[28:00] Speaker 1: if Caruso running down in simultaneously, throw it up and
[28:03] Speaker 1: get it back is what he thinks. This is the
[28:05] Speaker 1: right basketball play. It was a fucking selfish play. It
[28:08] Speaker 1: cost his team. Go ahead and finish. All right.
[28:12] Speaker 5: Now we go to the first overtime. And my little man,
[28:16] Speaker 5: I got a little left-handed player. He's pretty good. He's
[28:20] Speaker 5: probably not Dylan Harper, but he's pretty good, A.J.
[28:22] Speaker 1: Mitchell.
[28:22] Speaker 5: And he hadn't gotten to play much until lately when
[28:25] Speaker 5: J-Dub was out.
[28:26] Speaker 1: That shot.
[28:27] Speaker 2: This is the shot.
[28:28] Speaker 3: Oh, my goodness. All right.
[28:30] Speaker 5: So this is 131 left in the first overtime. And A.J.
[28:37] Speaker 5: Mitchell gets a breakaway, and the Spurs are starting to
[28:39] Speaker 5: unravel at this point because they cannot hang on to
[28:42] Speaker 5: the basketball. It's flying loose crazy on the other end.
[28:46] Speaker 1: All right.
[28:47] Speaker 5: Breakaway to A.J., who played very well against the Lakers,
[28:52] Speaker 5: was averaging 20 a game, and yet he shot only
[28:57] Speaker 5: four times all night, and he has not even attempted
[29:01] Speaker 5: one three all night, and he decides on a two-on-one break.
[29:05] Speaker 5: He decides to pull up and shoot the three that could, should,
[29:11] Speaker 5: could have been, could have been, would have been the
[29:13] Speaker 5: dagger because this is going to put them up four.
[29:17] Speaker 5: And I'm pretty sure it's going to be over if
[29:19] Speaker 5: he makes this because the place is going to, they're
[29:21] Speaker 5: going to blow the roof off the arena if the
[29:23] Speaker 5: ball goes in. And it was on line long. It's
[29:27] Speaker 5: just one of those shots, you kind of put it
[29:30] Speaker 5: all on make or miss, but you got an easy
[29:32] Speaker 5: deuce on that one. You got an easy deuce, man,
[29:35] Speaker 5: because he can sky. He can sky. He's a talented kid.
[29:41] Speaker 5: But you pull up and you shoot your left-handed three.
[29:44] Speaker 5: And you know the rest of that story. Which brings
[29:46] Speaker 5: me to my man, J-Dub, as in Jalen Williams. Last year,
[29:50] Speaker 5: all-star second team, all defense, has barely played this year,
[29:54] Speaker 5: managed to make it 33 games of the regular season.
[29:57] Speaker 5: And he has been out in the playoffs for one
[29:59] Speaker 5: whole month. He's been out. And he comes back for
[30:04] Speaker 5: the series. This is the NBA finals that we're watching
[30:07] Speaker 5: right now. And Suddenly, the ball is in his hands
[30:13] Speaker 5: for the two biggest shots of the game. So the
[30:15] Speaker 5: biggest shot of the game from the Thunder was with
[30:18] Speaker 5: 33 seconds left in this first overtime. And J-Dub, he
[30:23] Speaker 5: goes to his left on Vassell, and he's got a
[30:26] Speaker 5: 14-foot jumper just inside the free throw line. And it's
[30:30] Speaker 5: a decent look, but Vassell's on him pretty hard. And
[30:33] Speaker 5: he's going to his left, and he's got to shoot
[30:35] Speaker 5: it back to his right. So he's letting the defender
[30:37] Speaker 5: come back in the picture a little bit and bother
[30:40] Speaker 5: the shot. But this is a shot with 33 seconds
[30:44] Speaker 5: left to go up five. Help me out. If he
[30:46] Speaker 5: makes this, who wins the game? Because I'm pretty sure
[30:48] Speaker 5: the Thunder are going to win the game if it
[30:51] Speaker 5: goes up five with 33 seconds left.
[30:53] Speaker 3: Maybe I'm wrong.
[30:53] Speaker 5: Maybe Wimby makes two threes at the end of the game.
[30:56] Speaker 5: It could be. It was his night. But I would
[30:59] Speaker 5: love the Thunder's chances if J-Dub makes that shot, and
[31:03] Speaker 5: he missed it. It barely ticked iron. It was left
[31:07] Speaker 5: and right. and low and just ticks the side of
[31:11] Speaker 5: the iron. And even Mike Tirico said, oh, he missed badly. Yeah,
[31:14] Speaker 5: he missed it really badly.
[31:16] Speaker 1: Okay.
[31:17] Speaker 5: And finally, in the first overtime, same player, J-Dub, back
[31:21] Speaker 5: for the first time in a month.
[31:22] Speaker 1: Wide open three.
[31:24] Speaker 5: SGA drives it and kicks it out, and he gets
[31:27] Speaker 5: a nice look from three. And this is to win
[31:29] Speaker 5: the basketball game, despite the alien, despite everything you guys said,
[31:33] Speaker 5: which is all the God's truth. It's the scary truth.
[31:37] Speaker 5: But despite it all.
[31:40] Speaker 5: J-Dub has got an open three to win the basketball game,
[31:44] Speaker 5: and it is way wide right. And it wasn't bothered.
[31:47] Speaker 5: It wasn't really contested. It's a nice look. But he
[31:51] Speaker 5: just hasn't been playing. And you put maybe the season,
[31:55] Speaker 5: if you're right, maybe you put the season in J-Dub's hands,
[31:58] Speaker 5: and he missed it. And you know the rest of
[32:00] Speaker 5: the story. Wimby comes straight back down and kaboom. from
[32:05] Speaker 5: miles away, he makes that shot, and it took my
[32:08] Speaker 5: breath away, and maybe that's the series, but I don't
[32:11] Speaker 5: think so. I'm sticking with Thunder and Seven because there
[32:15] Speaker 5: are four chances to win the game despite your alien.
[32:19] Speaker 1: I'm disappointed, Skip. I'm disappointed.
[32:22] Speaker 2: All that shit you just said, without any accountability for
[32:27] Speaker 2: the actual strategies of the game, what went into the
[32:32] Speaker 2: game from the Hooper standpoint, there are the casual fans
[32:36] Speaker 2: that watch the game and go to the box score
[32:38] Speaker 2: and say, this is what shot should have went in.
[32:40] Speaker 2: This was shot. Should have did this. Woulda, shoulda, couldas.
[32:44] Speaker 2: If was a fifth, we'd be drunk as fuck. But
[32:47] Speaker 2: the one thing that I noticed from the defensive strategies
[32:51] Speaker 2: at OKC, they didn't put SGA on the best player.
[32:55] Speaker 2: They didn't put him on the second best player or
[32:58] Speaker 2: the third best player. They hit him all night. Well,
[33:01] Speaker 2: There's no critique on that. There's no critique on the
[33:04] Speaker 2: fact that.
[33:04] Speaker 5: Well, they had him on Castle and he took it
[33:06] Speaker 5: away from him five times.
[33:09] Speaker 2: Throughout the game, he took it away from the guys
[33:11] Speaker 2: in the scheme, throughout the scheme.
[33:14] Speaker 3: He also wasn't in the game.
[33:15] Speaker 1: He wasn't in the game.
[33:16] Speaker 3: That last three.
[33:17] Speaker 2: He wasn't in the game in the biggest moment of
[33:19] Speaker 2: the game for that because of a defensive substitution.
[33:21] Speaker 1: All that.
[33:22] Speaker 2: And let's talk about OKC and all of their mismatch
[33:25] Speaker 2: scenarios to put Caruso on door on win. Be like
[33:28] Speaker 2: Kenyon said, you got to accept the challenge at some point.
[33:31] Speaker 2: But let's go back to your tweets. Your tweets for
[33:33] Speaker 2: the Minnesota Timberwolf game was that the Spurs wouldn't make
[33:37] Speaker 2: it out.
[33:38] Speaker 1: They made it out.
[33:39] Speaker 5: No, I did not bet on the Spurs in that series.
[33:42] Speaker 5: I had it on Gridiron. No, I wouldn't tweet against
[33:46] Speaker 5: the Spurs because I had big dinners on them.
[33:50] Speaker 1: You said the Wolves were going to get them.
[33:52] Speaker 5: No, I did not. I did not. Aqib Tlaib and
[33:55] Speaker 5: I had a huge bet.
[33:55] Speaker 4: I think both you gentlemen said Spurs and five if
[33:57] Speaker 4: I'm not mistaken.
[33:58] Speaker 1: He was betting with Tlaib. I mean, he had a
[34:00] Speaker 1: bet with Tlaib. Yeah.
[34:01] Speaker 2: So fast forward to the accountability. Of what happened in
[34:08] Speaker 2: the game. Is that you guys lost. Regardless of all
[34:12] Speaker 2: of the shots that were made. Regardless of the time frame.
[34:16] Speaker 2: There are guys who showed up to compete. At the
[34:20] Speaker 2: highest level. And there were guys who did not.
[34:22] Speaker 1: That's true.
[34:23] Speaker 2: There were guys who avoided the moment. There are guys
[34:26] Speaker 2: like Kenyon. To Kenyon's point of passing. And trying to
[34:28] Speaker 2: be selfish in certain moments. And we know who. That
[34:30] Speaker 2: you have to make the right play. And those plays
[34:34] Speaker 2: were not made. The plays that were made. Where the
[34:37] Speaker 2: fact that Dylan Harper came up big defensively, Carter Bryant
[34:41] Speaker 2: put SGA in the gas chamber. Go to sleep. We're
[34:45] Speaker 2: not having that tonight. Guess what our strategy is? Caruso
[34:48] Speaker 2: has to beat us. We're not playing any other strategy
[34:52] Speaker 2: but Caruso. You got to beat us. Matter of fact,
[34:55] Speaker 2: let's go to the J-Dub, the three-point shot. Why was
[34:59] Speaker 2: he open?
[34:59] Speaker 1: Why did he shoot it? Because Caruso had 30 points
[35:02] Speaker 1: at that point. It was the right shot though. He
[35:04] Speaker 1: had time.
[35:04] Speaker 2: It was the right shot. Our strategy is go to Caruso.
[35:09] Speaker 2: We're rotating to Caruso. He does not get any more
[35:12] Speaker 2: open looks. He is going to be the one that's
[35:15] Speaker 2: going to have to beat us. Guess what we know
[35:17] Speaker 2: he ain't ready for? He ain't ready for that moment.
[35:20] Speaker 1: Two-time champion or something. He ain't ready for that moment.
[35:22] Speaker 1: Two-time champion. Who's that? Who? No, I'm talking about J-Dub. J-Dub. J-Dub.
[35:26] Speaker 1: He ain't ready for that moment. To his credit, though.
[35:29] Speaker 5: He is a one-time champion.
[35:30] Speaker 1: But he came back and made the next three. He
[35:31] Speaker 1: just missed out. It was a bad look. He missed out.
[35:33] Speaker 1: He came back and threw it to him the next time.
[35:35] Speaker 1: He knocked that bitch right down.
[35:36] Speaker 2: When we talk about momentum and you're at home and
[35:38] Speaker 2: you put him away, put him away. Put him away.
[35:41] Speaker 2: That's what you didn't do. You couldn't put him away.
[35:44] Speaker 2: Guess what we did?
[35:45] Speaker 1: Guess what we did?
[35:47] Speaker 3: You did do that.
[35:47] Speaker 1: Guess what we did?
[35:48] Speaker 2: We're not worried about the hypotheticals of what could happen.
[35:52] Speaker 2: We know like you talk about all the time.
[35:55] Speaker 1: What happened? What happened? Oh, we went in there and
[35:59] Speaker 1: we stole one. No, I don't think they stole it.
[36:02] Speaker 3: Did we take it?
[36:03] Speaker 1: I would agree. That was a take. It was a take.
[36:09] Speaker 1: I agree.
[36:10] Speaker 2: It had nothing to do with Winby's moment and looking
[36:12] Speaker 2: at the MVP.
[36:12] Speaker 3: That was a team win.
[36:14] Speaker 1: Team win.
[36:15] Speaker 2: Miss Johnson needed to make some corrections down the stretch
[36:19] Speaker 2: with holding the ball and getting into sets. Because Harper
[36:22] Speaker 2: and Castle, I don't believe they're true ball handlers when
[36:25] Speaker 2: it comes to that type of pressure between Case and Wallace.
[36:28] Speaker 3: Harper's young.
[36:29] Speaker 1: He is young. He'll get better.
[36:32] Speaker 2: Because when he did mess up, he did come back.
[36:34] Speaker 2: He messed up in the biggest moment where he went one-on-one.
[36:37] Speaker 2: He was going one-on-one, one-on-one, and then he turned it over.
[36:40] Speaker 2: It was the box out.
[36:41] Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah.
[36:42] Speaker 3: A box out, yeah.
[36:42] Speaker 1: It was the box out that got Mitch Johnson pissed.
[36:45] Speaker 8: But on that one, when he turned over, came down.
[36:47] Speaker 1: And then he laid it up.
[36:48] Speaker 3: Then he turned it over. It was big. Hit the
[36:51] Speaker 3: entry pass to win before the dunk for the and one.
[36:53] Speaker 3: Come on, man.
[36:53] Speaker 1: But, hey, what could have won the game, though? Castle
[36:55] Speaker 1: can't have 11 turnovers.
[36:56] Speaker 2: Inbounds pass.
[36:57] Speaker 3: Yeah, but.
[36:58] Speaker 2: Inbounds pass to Castle for the game.
[37:01] Speaker 5: Yeah.
[37:01] Speaker 2: He's not Jason Kidd. I don't expect him to be
[37:03] Speaker 2: Jason Kidd to make that type of pass. But you
[37:05] Speaker 2: are a point guard. You are a point guard. And
[37:08] Speaker 2: we can't blame it on age if you're showing up
[37:10] Speaker 2: for the moment. And in every other scenario, except for
[37:12] Speaker 2: the ones that matter.
[37:13] Speaker 8: I am.
[37:13] Speaker 1: Right? A 20-year-old.
[37:15] Speaker 2: Nah, you're in there. Because we're going to give him
[37:20] Speaker 2: credit for 24, 11, 7, and 6. Now we're going
[37:24] Speaker 2: to criticize him for making mistakes in big moments. He's
[37:27] Speaker 2: going to learn from the criticism. Because that's everyone gets it.
[37:31] Speaker 2: Everyone gets it.
[37:32] Speaker 1: For him, it's a teacher.
[37:33] Speaker 5: Moment.
[37:34] Speaker 3: That's what I'm saying.
[37:34] Speaker 2: You got to learn from the criticism. You don't get,
[37:39] Speaker 2: you don't learn or you don't teach, you don't even
[37:42] Speaker 2: get to teach unless you're criticizing. I get to correct
[37:45] Speaker 2: you on what the mistakes you made.
[37:47] Speaker 1: So if you make a mistake. So constructive criticism. Yes.
[37:50] Speaker 3: Yes.
[37:51] Speaker 2: It's criticism at the end of the day. You got
[37:52] Speaker 2: to get better.
[37:53] Speaker 1: Okay. Constructive criticism. Right.
[37:54] Speaker 5: Okay.
[37:54] Speaker 2: We're talking about sets. We're talking about understanding schemes, time
[37:58] Speaker 2: and score.
[37:58] Speaker 1: Yeah. Cause those constructive criticism and teaching is pretty much
[38:02] Speaker 1: the And go hand in hand. Go hand in hand, right?
[38:04] Speaker 1: And he has to be able to accept that. Oh,
[38:07] Speaker 1: he realized he fucked up.
[38:09] Speaker 2: Same with Castle. He didn't even want the ball in
[38:12] Speaker 2: the crunch time no more. He was passing like, hey,
[38:14] Speaker 2: go to Wimby. Let's go to where we know.
[38:16] Speaker 1: Fucking right.
[38:17] Speaker 3: I don't think the series is over, though.
[38:19] Speaker 1: Oh, the series is definitely not over. It ain't no sweep.
[38:21] Speaker 8: I don't think the series is over because just as
[38:22] Speaker 8: much as, I mean, if you look at Wimby's shots,
[38:25] Speaker 8: he only shot two threes. And we've been telling him
[38:27] Speaker 8: that he needs to plan to paint. If he can
[38:30] Speaker 8: keep doing that, then I don't think Chad has a
[38:33] Speaker 8: game like that.
[38:34] Speaker 1: He's starting to worry, catching the ball at the free
[38:36] Speaker 1: throw line.
[38:37] Speaker 3: All those threes and all that, he can't.
[38:39] Speaker 1: That's why I feel like he had a rhythm. We're
[38:42] Speaker 1: not blaming it on Russ. They can't guard him around
[38:44] Speaker 1: the basket, so he realized that now. Can we look
[38:48] Speaker 1: at that logo three, though? We're not blaming it on Russ. No,
[38:52] Speaker 1: not at all.
[38:53] Speaker 2: Hey, hold up real quick.
[38:55] Speaker 1: Hold up real quick.
[38:57] Speaker 2: When you talk about the Russ, you talk about, oh,
[39:00] Speaker 2: we had a week off this.
[39:02] Speaker 1: First quarter. Phoenix Suns. First quarter.
[39:04] Speaker 2: Phoenix Suns. Before they played Phoenix. They had time off.
[39:08] Speaker 1: Sweep.
[39:09] Speaker 2: Before they played the fucking Lakers, guess what? They had
[39:12] Speaker 2: time off. Game one, game two. They came in. They
[39:15] Speaker 2: did their job.
[39:16] Speaker 1: And with all that said, they still had a chance
[39:18] Speaker 1: to win.
[39:18] Speaker 2: Still had a chance to win. And guess who did
[39:20] Speaker 2: play bad? Guess who still played bad? Our team still
[39:24] Speaker 2: played bad. We played bad.
[39:27] Speaker 3: At your house. We not tripping.
[39:29] Speaker 2: 20. It's not bad.
[39:32] Speaker 8: We're not.
[39:32] Speaker 2: Hey, let me give credit to Champagne.
[39:36] Speaker 1: Big shots.
[39:37] Speaker 2: Vassell.
[39:38] Speaker 1: Big shots.
[39:39] Speaker 2: All game long. Big shots when we needed them.
[39:42] Speaker 3: Needed them.
[39:44] Speaker 1: Vassell's biggest contribution was that block he had at the
[39:46] Speaker 1: rim late.
[39:47] Speaker 2: Getting in there, offensive rebound and tipping the ball out. Man,
[39:50] Speaker 2: they out there scrambling.
[39:52] Speaker 1: We love it. Got to go out there and scramble.
[39:54] Speaker 2: Cornette, come out there and give us.
[39:56] Speaker 1: Cornette did not drop last night in the pick and roll.
[39:59] Speaker 1: He stood up there.
[40:00] Speaker 2: He got up there. Make SGA pass out of that.
[40:03] Speaker 2: Get it to the next guy. We not letting him
[40:05] Speaker 2: get off.
[40:06] Speaker 3: And the thing.
[40:09] Speaker 1: Okay, see.
[40:09] Speaker 3: It still took him two overtimes. Shit.
[40:12] Speaker 1: It took who two overtimes? The Spurs. Oh, I thought
[40:16] Speaker 1: it took you two two overtimes.
[40:18] Speaker 5: No.
[40:18] Speaker 1: Because if you were.
[40:18] Speaker 2: Good, like you say you are, you would have got
[40:20] Speaker 2: him out of there in the fourth. But that didn't happen.
[40:23] Speaker 2: So we prolonged the game based on what you should
[40:26] Speaker 2: have done and what your MVP should have done. But
[40:29] Speaker 2: he didn't do it. And you gave our real MVP,
[40:32] Speaker 2: the people's MVP, the opportunity to go in there and
[40:35] Speaker 2: show you why you gave it to the wrong motherfucker.
[40:38] Speaker 1: Okay.
[40:38] Speaker 3: Period.
[40:39] Speaker 5: So SGA was a game worst minus 15, whether you
[40:44] Speaker 5: believe in plus minus. But but the MVP back to
[40:46] Speaker 5: back was a game worse minus 15. You think he'll
[40:49] Speaker 5: be a game worse minus 15 in game two? Because
[40:52] Speaker 5: I don't think so.
[40:53] Speaker 2: You don't think that you're watching that game. You look
[40:55] Speaker 2: like he ain't getting out of jail no time soon.
[40:58] Speaker 2: He ain't getting out of jail no time soon. Carter
[41:00] Speaker 2: Bryant played 13 minutes. That was the worst 13 minutes
[41:03] Speaker 2: we ever seen SGA go through.
[41:05] Speaker 1: Okay, we'll see.
[41:06] Speaker 2: And listen, they not giving him the fouls. Guess who
[41:10] Speaker 2: else they not giving fouls to? Victor Wimbanyama. Pushing, pulling, scratching.
[41:17] Speaker 1: Not even worse than the rules here.
[41:19] Speaker 5: You mean the free throw merchant Wimbanyama, that guy?
[41:21] Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
[41:22] Speaker 2: The guy that's getting clawed up. They have to give
[41:25] Speaker 2: him fouls. Imagine if he started flopping.
[41:27] Speaker 1: He's French. He got to get tough. Got to get tough,
[41:29] Speaker 1: don't he?
[41:30] Speaker 2: Do you see him complaining to the refs? The one
[41:33] Speaker 2: time he did this all year was when he got
[41:35] Speaker 2: it right.
[41:37] Speaker 1: Hey, coach, come on.
[41:39] Speaker 2: That's us.
[41:40] Speaker 3: Okay. Great adjustments, though. I mean, SG, I mean, they've
[41:45] Speaker 3: always been. I mean, they've always been.
[41:48] Speaker 2: But they've always been.
[41:48] Speaker 3: Even last year, like he said.
[41:50] Speaker 8: Last year against the Pacers. First game, Western Conference, they
[41:54] Speaker 8: come out, they lose. The finals, they always make adjustments.
[41:58] Speaker 2: What game did Hallenberg get hurt? What game did Hallenberg
[42:01] Speaker 2: get hurt?
[42:02] Speaker 1: Send him something better.
[42:04] Speaker 8: Antonio last game, you know, God got hurt the last
[42:06] Speaker 8: he played last took them to seven the Pacers took them.
[42:10] Speaker 9: To set They ain't got Victor way either team Joker's
[42:16] Speaker 9: He can play Dylan Harper.
[42:18] Speaker 3: They don't got this guy with the drink.
[42:20] Speaker 1: Yeah one should listen dog their regular season for one
[42:23] Speaker 1: shit for San Antonio. Mm-hmm They holding on to that.
[42:26] Speaker 3: What you mean?
[42:26] Speaker 2: That shit mean something.
[42:28] Speaker 3: Boomed on them.
[42:30] Speaker 2: Come on, B.
[42:31] Speaker 1: Where you at? Where you at? Just because you and Drake.
[42:35] Speaker 8: Done made up don't mean we done forgot about the boom.
[42:38] Speaker 8: Just because you and Drake going to Caravana this year
[42:41] Speaker 8: don't mean nothing.
[42:43] Speaker 1: Five and one. Who's in here?
[42:44] Speaker 5: You know who's in here.
[42:45] Speaker 1: Five and one.
[42:46] Speaker 3: You know who's in here.
[42:47] Speaker 2: Step.
[42:48] Speaker 5: There's a seven-foot white guy in there.
[42:50] Speaker 1: Man, there's somebody in here very important. It's confidence, man.
[42:54] Speaker 3: You're right.
[42:55] Speaker 1: Listen, they don't think they can beat them, dog. Listen,
[42:59] Speaker 1: when you got a good team's number.
[43:01] Speaker 3: I'm here to talk about basketball.
[43:02] Speaker 1: That's true.
[43:02] Speaker 8: I want to hear that shit. I want to hear
[43:05] Speaker 8: that shit. But let's look at this. Iceman froze up.
[43:07] Speaker 8: Boom on him. One more time. First overtime.
[43:12] Speaker 3: I mean, one of the biggest shots in the NBA
[43:15] Speaker 3: playoff history, man.
[43:17] Speaker 8: I like the rhythm. I like everything about it. Guess
[43:21] Speaker 8: what else that is? Same floor. That's a bad shot.
[43:25] Speaker 1: Same spot where Steph shot that bitch from. Is that
[43:27] Speaker 1: not a bad shot? No.
[43:29] Speaker 2: For him, for Wimby who shoots 35, Skip would say it, 35%.
[43:32] Speaker 2: If he misses that shot, it's over, right?
[43:35] Speaker 1: Shot it with confidence. So make or miss that shot,
[43:39] Speaker 1: he shot that bitch with confidence. I know I'm making it.
[43:43] Speaker 1: When he pulled up, I was like, oh, shit, young fella. Like,
[43:46] Speaker 1: I'm watching.
[43:47] Speaker 2: I'm like, oh, shit.
[43:48] Speaker 1: And he made it. I'm like, hey, shout out to
[43:49] Speaker 1: that bitch with confidence.
[43:50] Speaker 8: Imagine how I was wherever the fuck I was at.
[43:53] Speaker 8: Do we know your word about it?
[43:55] Speaker 1: Imagine what kind of cartwheels I was doing.
[43:56] Speaker 2: In that motherfucker.
[43:57] Speaker 1: Everybody was like, come on, man.
[43:59] Speaker 2: Imagine how I'm like, man, I get to go into
[44:03] Speaker 2: the arena tomorrow and talk my shit?
[44:06] Speaker 1: Nothing like it. I'm telling you. So who was with?
[44:09] Speaker 1: the Nets and Detroit Detroit had home court we went
[44:12] Speaker 1: in there and won the first two games on their
[44:14] Speaker 1: floor won the first one playing with house money we
[44:20] Speaker 1: come back game two we like shit we can get
[44:23] Speaker 1: these boys we can get these boys and because we
[44:25] Speaker 1: know how we plan it listen we know the track
[44:27] Speaker 1: meet the shift and to be back in Jersey yep
[44:32] Speaker 1: got game three hey.
[44:34] Speaker 2: You know what Let's get them out of there.
[44:36] Speaker 1: And it's the same Detroit team. They added Rasheed Wild.
[44:39] Speaker 1: It's the same Detroit team. We swept them the year
[44:41] Speaker 1: before they won it. Get them out of here. You
[44:45] Speaker 1: winning on the home, man, your confidence is in how
[44:50] Speaker 1: you do it. Close, blowout, it's how you're getting it done.
[44:53] Speaker 5: Are you saying this is over?
[44:55] Speaker 1: I'm not saying it's over. It can be. I want
[44:57] Speaker 1: to see how game two looks. I want to see
[45:00] Speaker 1: how game two looks. OKC can win it, right? But
[45:08] Speaker 1: if this looks anything like Game 1, this is going
[45:10] Speaker 1: to be a gentleman's sweep.
[45:11] Speaker 3: Do you bring back D-Fox?
[45:13] Speaker 1: This is going to be a gentleman's sweep. If Game
[45:14] Speaker 1: 2 looks anything like Game 1, OKC can win it.
[45:18] Speaker 5: I understand.
[45:19] Speaker 1: This will be a gentleman's sweep.
[45:21] Speaker 2: Yes and no because D-Fox can't guard like Harper. You
[45:26] Speaker 2: keep Harper in because they can switch between those three guards.
[45:29] Speaker 2: Those three.
[45:30] Speaker 3: Put them on Caruso.
[45:32] Speaker 2: Nah, because you're still going Caruso going to go into
[45:34] Speaker 2: the pick and roll. Who is SGA guarding though? What
[45:38] Speaker 2: you mean?
[45:39] Speaker 1: But they're not running the same sets that Spurs are
[45:42] Speaker 1: running for the switch.
[45:43] Speaker 8: But what I'm saying is I'm like And we're doubling.
[45:46] Speaker 8: I'm guarding Caruso, though. So it's like, I mean.
[45:48] Speaker 1: Okay, but wait.
[45:48] Speaker 5: Who guarded Caruso last night?
[45:50] Speaker 1: Wimby. That's it.
[45:52] Speaker 5: Bingo.
[45:52] Speaker 1: Wimby.
[45:52] Speaker 5: That's why he made eight out of 14-3.
[45:55] Speaker 1: But that was our strategy. It was their.
[45:57] Speaker 2: Our strategy is we're going to live and die with
[45:59] Speaker 2: you shooting that shot when that's doing that.
[46:01] Speaker 3: And that's DeFox's not playing.
[46:02] Speaker 1: Right.
[46:03] Speaker 2: So if you put.
[46:04] Speaker 1: That's it.
[46:04] Speaker 2: It's a devastating us because now SGA can go one-on-one
[46:08] Speaker 2: with with Fox.
[46:08] Speaker 1: It's a thing. No about them though, right? They're not
[46:10] Speaker 1: gonna let him do one-on-one. We're gonna go to him.
[46:13] Speaker 8: We're gonna have better defenders than the Lakers, right? You
[46:15] Speaker 8: want SGA to go one-on-one with Fox?
[46:16] Speaker 3: No, I'm saying he will.
[46:17] Speaker 1: But they're not gonna allow it. But they're not gonna
[46:20] Speaker 1: allow it.
[46:20] Speaker 2: Wherever Foxy is on the floor, we're searching him. We're
[46:23] Speaker 2: searching him.
[46:24] Speaker 1: Dork? Who, Fox? Yeah.
[46:25] Speaker 2: We're searching him.
[46:27] Speaker 3: Or Dork.
[46:28] Speaker 8: I mean, the guys over here at the Spurs, they're
[46:30] Speaker 8: doing the same thing at SGA.
[46:31] Speaker 3: I saw it last night.
[46:31] Speaker 2: You've got to listen to what I'm saying. The scramble
[46:33] Speaker 2: and the effort and energy out of the defensive side, Fox,
[46:37] Speaker 2: he don't have the same thing that Dylan Harper has.
[46:39] Speaker 2: And he's going to pull it.
[46:40] Speaker 1: Out of this.
[46:41] Speaker 3: He's fat.
[46:42] Speaker 2: He's fat, but he don't have the defensive prowess. The
[46:44] Speaker 2: prowess that you have that he got from his daddy.
[46:47] Speaker 2: Shout out to Ron Harper. One of the greatest to
[46:48] Speaker 2: ever do it.
[46:49] Speaker 8: That mentality of getting out of that scramble, ball go
[46:52] Speaker 8: over your head, turn, sprint to the corner, close out
[46:55] Speaker 8: off the three.
[46:56] Speaker 2: You know where it's going.
[46:57] Speaker 1: He stole that corner pass multiple times. Trying to throw
[47:01] Speaker 1: it back.
[47:02] Speaker 2: Multiple times.
[47:02] Speaker 1: He stole that shit three times. Multiple times.
[47:05] Speaker 3: So it hurts them bringing him back?
[47:07] Speaker 2: Not bringing him back, but just injecting him where Harper
[47:10] Speaker 2: can actually be the difference.
[47:12] Speaker 1: You're going to start Fox. You start Fox. If he's
[47:14] Speaker 1: going to play a game until you start him, you
[47:16] Speaker 1: got Johnson and Dove. You got Dylan Harper and Johnson
[47:21] Speaker 1: coming off the bench, dog. Dylan Harper coming off a
[47:24] Speaker 1: 24-piece and coming off the bench is a great thing.
[47:29] Speaker 1: And I'm not going to say the same thing as
[47:30] Speaker 1: Jalen Williams with A.J.
[47:31] Speaker 8: Mitchell, but you got A.J. Mitchell playing at a high level.
[47:33] Speaker 8: Momentum at this point. It's matchup to momentum. I don't
[47:36] Speaker 8: mind bringing Fox off the bench.
[47:37] Speaker 1: He's going to start.
[47:38] Speaker 3: I don't mind it.
[47:39] Speaker 2: But if you do bring Fox into the starting role,
[47:42] Speaker 2: you play Harper like Ginobili.
[47:44] Speaker 1: He's starting.
[47:44] Speaker 2: You play him like Ginobili.
[47:46] Speaker 3: He said he's a superstar.
[47:47] Speaker 1: No, he is. But he just got hurt. Darren Fox
[47:49] Speaker 1: is a superstar.
[47:50] Speaker 2: Motherfucker, he's hurt. He just got hurt.
[47:51] Speaker 3: He said Darren Fox is a superstar.
[47:52] Speaker 2: So, yeah, I still believe that. And if you think
[47:54] Speaker 2: about the 20 points that they were without, 20 points
[47:57] Speaker 2: they were without.
[47:58] Speaker 1: Ankle soreness. Motherfucker, don't play a playoff game and play
[48:01] Speaker 1: in the next one, dog. That's 60 minutes before the game.
[48:03] Speaker 1: That shit irks my ass, man. I ain't going to
[48:04] Speaker 1: even lie to you, dog. You don't play in the
[48:06] Speaker 1: playoff game and you turn around and play in the
[48:07] Speaker 1: next one. Like we said about Duncan Roberts, what do
[48:09] Speaker 1: you do? You don't plan to come out and you
[48:11] Speaker 1: play in the next, talking about your back. I don't
[48:13] Speaker 1: need you, dog.
[48:16] Speaker 2: We need you. We need all we can get. We
[48:17] Speaker 2: won't take this. We don't want to leave nothing on
[48:20] Speaker 2: the table. He can give us 12.
[48:22] Speaker 8: He can give us 15 minutes. He can give us
[48:25] Speaker 8: some shit.
[48:26] Speaker 2: But at the end of the day, what Dylan Harper
[48:28] Speaker 2: displayed was magnificent to me. especially on defensive. Like, to
[48:33] Speaker 2: get those steals, to be able to rebound the ball,
[48:35] Speaker 2: 11 boards.
[48:36] Speaker 1: Come on, man.
[48:37] Speaker 8: I think offensively, too, man, just staying aggressive. Being that
[48:40] Speaker 8: young is still, like, I messed up, but still coming down,
[48:43] Speaker 8: making the play, making.
[48:44] Speaker 2: The right play.
[48:45] Speaker 3: Like, that says a lot.
[48:46] Speaker 2: That's his dad. That's his dad.
[48:48] Speaker 1: I know. Shout out to Hollywood. Second pick in the
[48:50] Speaker 1: draft for a reason. For sure. Second pick in the
[48:53] Speaker 1: draft for an absolute reason. He's just playing it right now.
[48:55] Speaker 1: Let me ask you something, Skip. I like it. Did
[48:58] Speaker 1: SGA step up to that challenge?
[49:01] Speaker 2: Dylan Harper, we talk about matchups, not the one in
[49:04] Speaker 2: the garden.
[49:04] Speaker 3: Hold on.
[49:04] Speaker 1: We're just talking about matchups.
[49:06] Speaker 3: That wasn't his matchup.
[49:07] Speaker 8: This was your matchup. That wasn't his matchup. If you
[49:09] Speaker 8: go look at it at the point guard position. I'm
[49:10] Speaker 8: not talking about who's guarding. I'm not guarding you.
[49:13] Speaker 2: I'm just talking about when you have to match the
[49:15] Speaker 2: one across from you. Point guard, point guard. Shooting guard,
[49:18] Speaker 2: shooting guard. Small forwards, small forward. All of these guys.
[49:22] Speaker 2: Dillon was the point. But Dillon, I'm talking about from
[49:26] Speaker 2: across from you. He started as the point guard. Who
[49:30] Speaker 2: was guarding who? They doubling. Remember, just like we were
[49:34] Speaker 2: just saying about the last series. If you're doubling... You
[49:38] Speaker 2: can't say that Marcus Smart is guarding him because we're doubling.
[49:43] Speaker 2: But we're saying, yo, matchup, the matchup, SGA has to
[49:47] Speaker 2: answer that matchup.
[49:48] Speaker 1: How?
[49:49] Speaker 8: I got two people guarding me on one end, and
[49:50] Speaker 8: then I got to come down and.
[49:51] Speaker 2: Do all this. Because Caruso had 30.
[49:53] Speaker 1: He came in off the bench.
[49:54] Speaker 2: Yes, because two people are guarding me.
[49:55] Speaker 3: No, no, no.
[49:56] Speaker 2: Come on.
[49:57] Speaker 8: You can't do that because two people are guarding me.
[49:59] Speaker 8: Two people are guarding me, so this is not the same.
[50:01] Speaker 8: You can't say he didn't own up to that matchup.
[50:03] Speaker 8: You got two fucking people guarding me.
[50:04] Speaker 2: I can say it.
[50:05] Speaker 3: I can say it. And then I got to come
[50:06] Speaker 3: down here and I got to do this.
[50:08] Speaker 8: Because you trained for making it out of double teams.
[50:12] Speaker 8: It ain't like you not training to play out of
[50:14] Speaker 8: double teams.
[50:15] Speaker 1: Who trains to get into double teams? Everybody who's great
[50:18] Speaker 1: trains to get out of double teams. I got two
[50:20] Speaker 1: coming at me. Get around. Keep the dribble alive.
[50:23] Speaker 5: I got an answer. I got an answer to stepping up.
[50:26] Speaker 5: Fourth quarter regulation stats. The two-time MVP had 12 points
[50:34] Speaker 5: in the fourth quarter. He had three assists in the
[50:36] Speaker 5: fourth quarter. He had three steals in the fourth quarter.
[50:40] Speaker 5: And he did blow by Castle for the layup that
[50:44] Speaker 5: did send it to overtime.
[50:46] Speaker 1: He did that.
[50:48] Speaker 5: So I gave him an F for the game overall.
[50:51] Speaker 5: But he did do that in the fourth quarter. I
[50:53] Speaker 5: would say that would qualify as stepping up.
[50:56] Speaker 2: The blow by? You know why the blow by happened?
[50:58] Speaker 2: Because we were giving up a three. we're not giving
[51:01] Speaker 2: up the three in the huddle don't get up the
[51:05] Speaker 2: three hey if you gotta let them score let them
[51:08] Speaker 2: score we got the ball with three seconds to go
[51:10] Speaker 2: on the other end we're good on our side when
[51:12] Speaker 2: we talk about strategy but when you talk about defensive
[51:15] Speaker 2: intensity and you talk about hey listen.
[51:17] Speaker 1: 24 and 12 i'll take.
[51:19] Speaker 2: It you're passing it because what you don't want to
[51:22] Speaker 2: pass that Of course I don't. Them 12 assists or not,
[51:25] Speaker 2: you're wanting to.
[51:26] Speaker 8: Yes, but I have to because the game of basketball
[51:29] Speaker 8: says basketball.
[51:30] Speaker 1: No, because we're making it.
[51:32] Speaker 2: No, the game of basketball says we're making it.
[51:34] Speaker 1: S.J.
[51:34] Speaker 2: Always says, I read what the defense gives me. No,
[51:37] Speaker 2: you're doing what you want to shoot the ball. It's
[51:40] Speaker 2: just what people say with Luka. Luka's not passing the
[51:43] Speaker 2: ball to make people better. He's passing it because he
[51:45] Speaker 2: don't got a shot.
[51:47] Speaker 1: So let's get into it really quick. So S.J. wasn't
[51:49] Speaker 1: as aggressive?
[51:50] Speaker 4: That shit wasn't as aggressive offensively in the Thunder's first
[51:54] Speaker 4: three game against the Lakers. He dealt with double teams.
[51:56] Speaker 4: Averages 21 points in the first three games. That series
[51:58] Speaker 4: had 35 in the series clinch and win. Didn't necessarily
[52:01] Speaker 4: have to do it offensively against that squad because they
[52:02] Speaker 4: were whooping that ass. Spurs defense also gave him problems
[52:05] Speaker 4: in this one. 24 points with 7 of 23 shooting
[52:09] Speaker 4: in 51 minutes of action. Skip, like we talked about earlier,
[52:12] Speaker 4: only made one field goal in the first half. It
[52:13] Speaker 4: was the first time since October 2023 span of 270
[52:16] Speaker 4: games that he made Less than two field goals before halftime.
[52:22] Speaker 4: So back-to-back MVP had this to say about game one.
[52:26] Speaker 7: Quality opponent. We knew it was going to be a dogfight.
[52:30] Speaker 7: We just got to be better. Me in particular, I
[52:33] Speaker 7: have to play better, especially against a team of this caliber. Yeah,
[52:37] Speaker 7: nothing more than that.
[52:39] Speaker 1: Obviously, they pose a huge challenge defensively.
[52:42] Speaker 3: What's your process of feeling out a game like that
[52:44] Speaker 3: and how they're playing you? Yeah, I just try to
[52:47] Speaker 3: take what the defense gives me.
[52:48] Speaker 7: I think earlier they were, like, heavier in the gaps,
[52:53] Speaker 7: and I had a lot of sprays for open shooters
[52:56] Speaker 7: more so, and I think they loosened up as the
[52:58] Speaker 7: game went on, and I was able to find my cracks.
[53:01] Speaker 1: Yeah, it's got to be better when I get those cracks,
[53:04] Speaker 1: I think. Got to be better when you get those cracks.
[53:07] Speaker 4: You guys concerned at all with SJ's performance game when
[53:09] Speaker 4: this Western Conference Final is looking at the Spurs?
[53:11] Speaker 1: I am.
[53:11] Speaker 4: I am.
[53:13] Speaker 3: I am a little bit.
[53:13] Speaker 1: I am.
[53:14] Speaker 8: Because now that the record is 5-1 and they've been
[53:16] Speaker 8: booming on y'all all year, And you keep saying that
[53:20] Speaker 8: you guys need to make adjustments.
[53:21] Speaker 3: I mean, it's five and one. So I don't know.
[53:24] Speaker 8: Like, it looks like they have your number from that
[53:26] Speaker 8: from that from that standpoint.
[53:29] Speaker 3: So hopefully they can figure it out.
[53:30] Speaker 8: But right now they're like they've been booming on y'all
[53:33] Speaker 8: all year and they definitely feel it. I mean, like
[53:36] Speaker 8: I said, Wimby's performance alone just let you know what
[53:38] Speaker 8: time it was.
[53:39] Speaker 1: You keep using that word. I'm not worried. You keep
[53:42] Speaker 1: saying boom. You better stop that shit. I'm not worried
[53:44] Speaker 1: about his performance because they're going to defend him the
[53:47] Speaker 1: way they're going to defend him, right? It's on him
[53:50] Speaker 1: to pick a guy who he's going to attack. But
[53:52] Speaker 1: what the Spurs do and what the Lakers game plan,
[53:59] Speaker 1: the Spurs can game the same game plan, but they
[54:02] Speaker 1: have better perimeter defenders than the Lakers, right? So him
[54:06] Speaker 1: picking a guy, so he could pick Kennard or AR
[54:12] Speaker 1: and his foot speed can enable him to turn the
[54:14] Speaker 1: corner on them guys because he's going to pick one,
[54:16] Speaker 1: he's going to attack him. This series, their guards are
[54:19] Speaker 1: better defensively and they move their feet better. So him
[54:23] Speaker 1: turning the corner is not as attractive now. Him relying
[54:28] Speaker 1: on his teammates to make shots early, which they did not.
[54:31] Speaker 1: He was being a willing passer early because of how
[54:33] Speaker 1: they were guarding him. As the game goes on, guys
[54:36] Speaker 1: get more fatigued and he's able to turn the corner
[54:39] Speaker 1: more often than not. He missed a lot of shots
[54:42] Speaker 1: that I think he normally makes. A few of them
[54:45] Speaker 1: around 16, 17 feet that he missed that I thought
[54:49] Speaker 1: he'll make that next game probably if he get the
[54:51] Speaker 1: same look. But they're not going to change how they're
[54:54] Speaker 1: defending him. They're going to be aggressive with him. They're
[54:57] Speaker 1: going to put two on him when they can. They
[54:59] Speaker 1: kept him off the line for the most part, which
[55:01] Speaker 1: I think was huge. But yeah, I'm not worried about
[55:06] Speaker 1: his performance because he took what the game gave him.
[55:08] Speaker 1: He was aggressive late when they needed him. He went
[55:11] Speaker 1: down swinging. When the game was on the line in
[55:13] Speaker 1: the fourth quarter, he showed up. Had 24 and 12. Yeah,
[55:19] Speaker 1: five steals. So the plus minus is not on him,
[55:23] Speaker 1: I don't think, because it's how the game was being played.
[55:26] Speaker 1: Negative 15 is That's what it is when he's on
[55:29] Speaker 1: the floor. They need him on the floor. So that
[55:31] Speaker 1: plus minus for him really don't move me. But San
[55:36] Speaker 1: Antonio is going to defend him how they're going to
[55:37] Speaker 1: defend him moving forward. It's on him to try to
[55:39] Speaker 1: figure it out. And the guys have to make shots.
[55:42] Speaker 1: When he gives it up, when they double teaming him,
[55:44] Speaker 1: if you have a wide open shoot, no hesitation, but
[55:47] Speaker 1: go make a play for someone else. And it's on
[55:49] Speaker 1: him to find an open spot. Give it up. And
[55:52] Speaker 1: replace yourself. Give it up. Find an open spot. Give
[55:55] Speaker 1: it up. Run a pin down. Just don't keep giving
[55:57] Speaker 1: them the same look because they are good defensively and
[56:00] Speaker 1: they honing in on you. So, good luck. I mean,
[56:03] Speaker 1: to your point, okay, cool.
[56:05] Speaker 2: You take what the defense and the game give you.
[56:08] Speaker 2: You're playing the game, right? But if we're dictating that game,
[56:11] Speaker 2: you're playing our game. You're not doing what the game
[56:14] Speaker 2: is giving you. You're doing what we give you.
[56:16] Speaker 1: So, for us.
[56:17] Speaker 2: We want to make it tough. And what I would
[56:19] Speaker 2: say to San Antonio is make him go right. Do
[56:21] Speaker 2: not let SGA go left. He loves left. That sets
[56:24] Speaker 2: up his step back. That sets up his foul base.
[56:26] Speaker 2: Everything going right is tough. He does not like it.
[56:30] Speaker 2: And when you talk about giving the ball up and
[56:32] Speaker 2: getting it back based on the game, giving him whatever
[56:35] Speaker 2: it needs in the moments, if we got Wimby back
[56:38] Speaker 2: there and we got these three guys switching off, the
[56:41] Speaker 2: only thing that the game can give is the off-court pass,
[56:44] Speaker 2: the cross-court pass. That cross-court pass is you giving up
[56:48] Speaker 2: on the game. I feel like that SGA didn't impose
[56:52] Speaker 2: his will on the game based on trying to play
[56:55] Speaker 2: the game the way that he feels like, all right,
[56:57] Speaker 2: I'm just going to let the game come to me.
[56:59] Speaker 2: This is not let the game come to me time anymore.
[57:02] Speaker 2: This is I have to change the way that this
[57:04] Speaker 2: team has scouted me and that they're playing defense on me.
[57:07] Speaker 2: They have to make adjustments. Now, if the ref's not
[57:09] Speaker 2: giving you your calls and you don't have the game
[57:12] Speaker 2: to make that adjustment, y'all dead in the water and
[57:15] Speaker 2: I don't think that his game is going to be
[57:17] Speaker 2: like Jalen Brunson can make those type of adjustments. I
[57:20] Speaker 2: don't think SGA has that in his game.
[57:22] Speaker 3: It's not just him though.
[57:23] Speaker 1: Chet played bad. Chet played disgusting. AJ played bad.
[57:26] Speaker 8: But Chet don't got game like that. You see Harper
[57:29] Speaker 8: locking him up? But it ain't just on him though.
[57:33] Speaker 1: It is. Who did this?
[57:35] Speaker 8: As bad as he played, he still had 24 and 12.
[57:37] Speaker 8: They didn't get nothing out of Chet or nothing out
[57:39] Speaker 8: of AJ.
[57:40] Speaker 2: I bought all y'all APs. He did.
[57:43] Speaker 1: Golf clubs, Burberry Jackets.
[57:46] Speaker 2: I held up this thing.
[57:47] Speaker 3: They've been down game one before.
[57:48] Speaker 2: We know that. But we're talking about what it looks
[57:51] Speaker 2: like moving forward.
[57:52] Speaker 3: Yeah, but also people didn't step up.
[57:53] Speaker 5: So are you saying he got exposed last night?
[57:56] Speaker 2: He's been exposed against the Spurs from the first time
[57:58] Speaker 2: we played him.
[57:59] Speaker 1: All right.
[57:59] Speaker 5: And that will continue.
[58:01] Speaker 2: You predict 100 percent, regardless if he has 30 or
[58:04] Speaker 2: he has 40. Doesn't matter. You're putting your team at
[58:07] Speaker 2: risk by trying to do your thing, your thing.
[58:11] Speaker 5: Then you should just predict a sweep right now.
[58:13] Speaker 2: No, man, because you asked me to predict the last
[58:16] Speaker 2: time when the Wolves was playing the Spurs. You asked me,
[58:18] Speaker 2: are you predicting that they're winning? I didn't have to
[58:20] Speaker 2: because look where we are. We're going to win regardless.
[58:23] Speaker 2: We're going to do what we need to do to
[58:25] Speaker 2: win the game, just like we just did for game one.
[58:27] Speaker 3: What was your– Yes, sir. It's a we will see.
[58:30] Speaker 1: We will see? It's a we will see. Is this
[58:33] Speaker 1: your team or not? It's a we will see.
[58:35] Speaker 8: Well, listen, he's telling you OKC winning in seven.
[58:38] Speaker 2: He ain't telling me nothing, man.
[58:40] Speaker 3: He just said it.
[58:41] Speaker 2: He said OKC is winning in seven. Skip ain't been
[58:43] Speaker 2: right the whole time. That's why he got to ride
[58:45] Speaker 2: with OKC because they're the surefire pick.
[58:48] Speaker 1: They're the sure– Everybody in.
[58:49] Speaker 8: The media picked SGA to be the MVP just based
[58:52] Speaker 8: on everybody being friends with each other. You're not looking
[58:54] Speaker 8: at the real metrics of the game to see who
[58:56] Speaker 8: really the MVP. You ain't looking at the Spurs and
[58:59] Speaker 8: looking at their talent and saying, there's no way that
[59:01] Speaker 8: y'all are saying this team is better than that team.
[59:04] Speaker 1: No way.
[59:04] Speaker 3: Are the Spurs going to the finals?
[59:05] Speaker 1: Yes or no?
[59:06] Speaker 4: Yes.
[59:06] Speaker 3: Okay.
[59:07] Speaker 1: Yes. We will find out game two.
[59:09] Speaker 5: And by the way, quick point. I've been right about
[59:12] Speaker 5: the Thunder all year long. I picked them from the
[59:14] Speaker 5: start because they're just better. They will prove to you
[59:17] Speaker 5: they're better. And you get to the edge of the
[59:20] Speaker 5: cliff and you won't jump off your cliff over there
[59:22] Speaker 5: because you know You don't rattle this man's cage. You're
[59:26] Speaker 5: rattling it. You rattle and then you run.
[59:29] Speaker 3: We're 5-1, Skip.
[59:30] Speaker 2: We're 5-1.
[59:30] Speaker 1: We're 5-1, Skip. You didn't predict that, did you?
[59:33] Speaker 3: No, I did not.
[59:34] Speaker 1: You didn't predict that earlier in.
[59:35] Speaker 2: The season that we would be 5-1 against the OKC Thunder,
[59:40] Speaker 2: the MVP, the reigning champs. Y'all look like little boys
[59:44] Speaker 2: playing in the sandbox over here.
[59:45] Speaker 5: Then make it a sweep. Just say it's going to
[59:47] Speaker 5: be a sweep.
[59:47] Speaker 2: Oh, we want it to be entertaining. We got millions
[59:50] Speaker 2: of fans watching.
[59:51] Speaker 5: That's not what you're saying.
[59:52] Speaker 1: Yes.
[59:53] Speaker 3: You rattle changes and you run.
[59:55] Speaker 1: How entertaining was it?
[59:56] Speaker 5: You rattle and you run.
[59:57] Speaker 1: No.
[59:57] Speaker 3: Oh, the lion's coming.
[59:58] Speaker 2: No.
[59:59] Speaker 1: The lion?
[1:00:00] Speaker 5: The lion's coming.
[1:00:01] Speaker 2: Man, where's Bubbles?
[1:00:03] Speaker 1: Can you hear me?
[1:00:03] Speaker 2: Where's Bubbles? Where's Bubbles? I had Bubbles in here.
[1:00:07] Speaker 1: He's somewhere right now. But he talking about a little chimp.
[1:00:10] Speaker 1: You ain't talking about no lion. We used to this.
[1:00:12] Speaker 2: We done tamed these guys already. They have to prove
[1:00:16] Speaker 2: that they can show up and beat us. Make it
[1:00:18] Speaker 2: a series. All right.
[1:00:20] Speaker 1: We expected y'all to come in a big one.
[1:00:21] Speaker 3: What was your.
[1:00:22] Speaker 5: Prediction about this series before it started?
[1:00:24] Speaker 1: Seven. We going seven.
[1:00:26] Speaker 5: Oh, you got seven?
[1:00:27] Speaker 1: Yes.
[1:00:27] Speaker 5: Oh, so you do fear them.
[1:00:28] Speaker 2: It's going to be a good series. They have to
[1:00:31] Speaker 2: show up. Imagine if they get swept. Come on, bro.
[1:00:35] Speaker 5: Well, I don't need to imagine.
[1:00:37] Speaker 1: Imagine my celebration.
[1:00:39] Speaker 3: Imagine if it's six.
[1:00:42] Speaker 2: If we win in six, what my celebration going to
[1:00:44] Speaker 2: be in six or five? It's better to be seven
[1:00:48] Speaker 2: and try to have a hope of winning than to
[1:00:50] Speaker 2: let me celebrate because it's going to be a different
[1:00:53] Speaker 2: type of celebration.
[1:00:54] Speaker 3: All right.
[1:00:54] Speaker 2: There's somebody supposed to be sitting in your seat right now.
[1:00:57] Speaker 1: He's ducking. He's ducking.
[1:01:00] Speaker 2: You don't want to argue when you're losing these bets
[1:01:03] Speaker 2: and you're wrong about predictions and takes.
[1:01:06] Speaker 8: Well, he did say, Wimpy, if he's playing the paint.
[1:01:10] Speaker 2: No, he did say that they wasn't going to make
[1:01:13] Speaker 2: it out the first round. He did say they wasn't
[1:01:16] Speaker 2: going to make it past the Wolves.
[1:01:18] Speaker 5: Okay.
[1:01:19] Speaker 2: All right. And I ain't seen him since.
[1:01:20] Speaker 3: He did say that.
[1:01:21] Speaker 2: So, Skip, I'm just preparing you, man. You got to
[1:01:23] Speaker 2: be willing to come back to the set after you're
[1:01:25] Speaker 2: wrong about shit.
[1:01:26] Speaker 5: Oh, I'm always coming back.
[1:01:27] Speaker 1: Okay.
[1:01:28] Speaker 5: I've been coming back for a long time.
[1:01:30] Speaker 1: They said I was a quitter. I have.
[1:01:31] Speaker 5: A long time.
[1:01:33] Speaker 2: All right.
[1:01:34] Speaker 1: We will see how this thing plays out. By the way,
[1:01:36] Speaker 1: last point.
[1:01:37] Speaker 3: Stand on business, baby.
[1:01:37] Speaker 2: Stand on business.
[1:01:39] Speaker 5: Toes. Speaking of your costume today. This is a man
[1:01:42] Speaker 5: in the mirror time for that two-time MVP. It's man
[1:01:46] Speaker 5: in the mirror. Who is that man in the mirror?
[1:01:49] Speaker 5: He's looking at it right now. He's saying, this is
[1:01:52] Speaker 5: it because I will give you this. Game two is
[1:01:54] Speaker 5: do or die. And they have faced it before. They
[1:01:57] Speaker 5: faced it with Joker and they faced it with Halliburton.
[1:01:59] Speaker 5: Game two at home, you have to win that. Then
[1:02:02] Speaker 5: they went away and they fell behind two to one
[1:02:04] Speaker 5: and they faced another do or die because you don't
[1:02:06] Speaker 5: want to go down three to one and they never have.
[1:02:09] Speaker 5: So this is man in the mirror. This is where
[1:02:11] Speaker 5: you look and say, who am I?
[1:02:13] Speaker 1: What do I do? SGA is elite.
[1:02:16] Speaker 2: And that's why I say seven. I didn't say four.
[1:02:18] Speaker 2: I didn't say five. I still think that they're a
[1:02:20] Speaker 2: great team. I still think that they have chances to
[1:02:24] Speaker 2: hit shots and make plays and blow a game open
[1:02:27] Speaker 2: one or two.
[1:02:27] Speaker 5: Hey, but you already body bagged him.
[1:02:29] Speaker 2: No, I didn't say who it was in here.
[1:02:31] Speaker 5: Oh.
[1:02:31] Speaker 2: I didn't say who it was.
[1:02:33] Speaker 1: It's a mystery body bag. I didn't say who it
[1:02:34] Speaker 1: was in here.
[1:02:35] Speaker 5: Are you sure it's not the seven-foot white guy?
[1:02:37] Speaker 3: No.
[1:02:38] Speaker 1: No, no. Not yet.
[1:02:39] Speaker 5: Not yet?
[1:02:40] Speaker 1: He's safe. He's safe. Because if you don't come out
[1:02:41] Speaker 1: and put him on the game, too.
[1:02:43] Speaker 2: Hey, look, man, Chet's a non-fucking factor. We ain't ever
[1:02:45] Speaker 2: worried about Chet.
[1:02:46] Speaker 1: No, he needs to go on that bitch and be like, listen.
[1:02:48] Speaker 1: I'm going to guard him.
[1:02:49] Speaker 3: Okay.
[1:02:49] Speaker 1: Right.
[1:02:50] Speaker 5: Okay.
[1:02:50] Speaker 1: You're second in this second place in defensive player to
[1:02:55] Speaker 1: your vote and all that shit. Show me.
[1:02:59] Speaker 3: That is true.
[1:02:59] Speaker 1: I ain't saying you're going to stop him. You got it.
[1:03:04] Speaker 1: You can't rely on the six foot four guy and
[1:03:07] Speaker 1: the six foot five guy. Talk about it to guard
[1:03:10] Speaker 1: the seven foot four guy. Yeah. It doesn't work. One thing,
[1:03:16] Speaker 1: the old saying goes, I don't know if y'all hear
[1:03:18] Speaker 1: this or not, you can't teach or coach height. The
[1:03:23] Speaker 1: man's 7'4. Chet, you're 7'2, 7'1, 7'2. Long arms. He
[1:03:32] Speaker 1: won't smoke. What you gonna do, bro? Can I ask
[1:03:36] Speaker 1: you a question real quick before we move on?
[1:03:37] Speaker 2: Yes, sir.
[1:03:38] Speaker 1: Okay, cool. Finals.
[1:03:40] Speaker 2: They coming to the Huddle, and they say Kenyon, we're
[1:03:45] Speaker 2: going to put Rodney on him. You guard. What's your
[1:03:51] Speaker 2: response to being moved from I got him to Kenyon.
[1:03:57] Speaker 1: You got him? I'm going to tell you right, man,
[1:03:59] Speaker 1: you got me fucked up.
[1:04:01] Speaker 2: You got him.
[1:04:01] Speaker 3: Hey, man, no, I got him.
[1:04:04] Speaker 1: I got him, right? You can score 50 out of
[1:04:07] Speaker 1: this bitch, but guess what? You're going to earn all.
[1:04:11] Speaker 2: I got six fouls. And you're going to earn all 50.
[1:04:14] Speaker 1: Right? I got six of them and you're going to
[1:04:16] Speaker 1: earn all 50. Every catch you have will be contested. Listen,
[1:04:23] Speaker 1: you can distort, but one thing, you got to compete.
[1:04:26] Speaker 3: Got to compete.
[1:04:27] Speaker 1: And Chet. The offensive thing is one thing. You didn't
[1:04:29] Speaker 1: take a shot second quarter, whatever it is, it's unacceptable
[1:04:32] Speaker 1: for one. That's cool. That's one thing. If you ain't
[1:04:34] Speaker 1: offensively doing it, how about you exert that energy and
[1:04:38] Speaker 1: all that shit on the other side of the ball? Okay.
[1:04:40] Speaker 1: You playing off the ball, if you don't have five, six, seven, eight,
[1:04:44] Speaker 1: nine blocks.
[1:04:45] Speaker 3: Playing off the ball.
[1:04:46] Speaker 8: Right.
[1:04:47] Speaker 1: You're doing your team a disservice. There was plenty of
[1:04:49] Speaker 1: times the block you had, the end, that was a
[1:04:52] Speaker 1: great play. I saw like seven other times where that
[1:04:55] Speaker 1: man was around you being guarded by your teammates and
[1:04:57] Speaker 1: you were nowhere in the picture. At the three-point line somewhere.
[1:05:01] Speaker 1: Defending somebody who you, listen, you got to take the challenge.
[1:05:04] Speaker 1: You and Hardenstein, both of y'all, J-Dub, with William, the
[1:05:08] Speaker 1: other kid, all three of y'all, whoever it is, y'all
[1:05:11] Speaker 1: the biggest one on the team, man. Y'all cannot rely
[1:05:13] Speaker 1: on I understand the game plan. Coach might have said this.
[1:05:17] Speaker 1: Y'all should feel embarrassed and offended that the coach will
[1:05:20] Speaker 1: come up with their game plan and stick with it
[1:05:22] Speaker 1: throughout the game. Giving up offensive rebounds. He had nine
[1:05:25] Speaker 1: of them.
[1:05:25] Speaker 2: He got a six-foot-four guy right here, and I'm seven-five.
[1:05:28] Speaker 1: He had nine of them. Come on, Dagnoff, you smarter
[1:05:30] Speaker 1: than that. One time Williams got over back, Williams' kid
[1:05:33] Speaker 1: had him blocked out.
[1:05:33] Speaker 5: Three late possessions. Late regulation, coupling, first overtime. Chet got
[1:05:39] Speaker 5: forced to guard him. You know, he just got stuck
[1:05:42] Speaker 5: on him. And I thought he hung in there okay
[1:05:45] Speaker 5: because he's seven feet tall.
[1:05:47] Speaker 3: That's all.
[1:05:48] Speaker 5: And I think he fouled him all three times.
[1:05:50] Speaker 3: Cool.
[1:05:50] Speaker 5: And it didn't get called.
[1:05:51] Speaker 3: I'll give you that.
[1:05:52] Speaker 5: But he bothered shots.
[1:05:54] Speaker 1: Yeah.
[1:05:54] Speaker 5: And he created barely misses. Like barely where it just
[1:05:59] Speaker 5: kind of ticked off the side of the rim.
[1:06:01] Speaker 1: He was doing his job.
[1:06:02] Speaker 5: Because that's all they got. There's only one answer. and
[1:06:07] Speaker 5: I kind of put quotes around it, answer to Wimby,
[1:06:09] Speaker 5: and that's checked. In the end, that's it. I don't
[1:06:13] Speaker 5: know if he has in him what you're asking.
[1:06:16] Speaker 1: Just try.
[1:06:17] Speaker 2: Okay.
[1:06:17] Speaker 3: That's all.
[1:06:18] Speaker 1: I'm not listening.
[1:06:19] Speaker 5: Yeah.
[1:06:19] Speaker 1: And once again, you was the second pick in the draft.
[1:06:22] Speaker 1: They believe in you, right? They paid you as you
[1:06:25] Speaker 1: got 250.
[1:06:27] Speaker 3: Yeah.
[1:06:28] Speaker 1: They're expecting a lot out of you. You're second in vote,
[1:06:31] Speaker 1: player of the year, you're this, you're up, all that. Cool.
[1:06:35] Speaker 1: Mano a mano, you got to step up to the challenge.
[1:06:38] Speaker 1: That's all. Like I said, we understand what Wimby is
[1:06:42] Speaker 1: and what he did. He can have another one of
[1:06:44] Speaker 1: those games. You got to try. Like I said, Caruso,
[1:06:50] Speaker 1: this is not him trying to guard Nikola Jokic. Nikola
[1:06:53] Speaker 1: is not Wimby. Can't jump like that. Ain't long like that.
[1:06:56] Speaker 1: They can put the ball in places for Wimby that
[1:06:59] Speaker 1: you can bother it. Nikola has the boom, boom, get
[1:07:01] Speaker 1: to his thing. You get a good job when they
[1:07:04] Speaker 1: had you guard Nikola. This is not that. Not that.
[1:07:09] Speaker 3: So we think he's not trying because of one game? Who?
[1:07:12] Speaker 1: I'm not saying he didn't try to guard him. That's
[1:07:14] Speaker 1: what I'm saying.
[1:07:14] Speaker 2: We're talking about the five games that you played. We
[1:07:17] Speaker 2: beat y'all five to one. You did not compete with
[1:07:21] Speaker 2: Wim Mignogna. You did not show up to challenge him
[1:07:24] Speaker 2: and say, you're my matchup. And coach, you do not
[1:07:27] Speaker 2: have to put Caruso on him.
[1:07:29] Speaker 1: I got him. I got him. That ain't happened. I
[1:07:32] Speaker 1: watched the whole game. Alex Caruso, when he was on
[1:07:34] Speaker 1: the floor, guarded Wim.
[1:07:36] Speaker 3: They switched with Jalen Williams.
[1:07:38] Speaker 1: They were trying to get Jalen Williams on him. They
[1:07:40] Speaker 1: put him... That's the one time they messed it up.
[1:07:43] Speaker 1: They didn't switch. Castle got the dunk. That's all I'm saying. Chet,
[1:07:48] Speaker 1: you're 7'1, 7'2. Long arms. You're the only one. You
[1:07:56] Speaker 1: might not get it. He might score every time on you.
[1:08:00] Speaker 1: But I can look in the mirror and be like, shit,
[1:08:01] Speaker 1: I fucking tried. I didn't have my 6'5 guard trying
[1:08:04] Speaker 1: to guard him. That's all. And guess what we betting on?
[1:08:06] Speaker 1: Because Alex Cruz, are they throwing up this shit? They
[1:08:09] Speaker 1: throwing that bitch up and doing this shit, right? Yeah,
[1:08:11] Speaker 1: every time. Throwing that bitch up.
[1:08:13] Speaker 2: It's like... And you guys not doing that on the
[1:08:16] Speaker 2: other end with Chet when we got Dylan Harper on him.
[1:08:19] Speaker 2: We got one of the smaller guys on Chet. You're
[1:08:22] Speaker 2: not going to the paint and saying, throw it to
[1:08:24] Speaker 2: me because we still got Wimby Roman.
[1:08:26] Speaker 1: Because Wimby don't have to guard you.
[1:08:27] Speaker 2: Because you don't want to come down in the paint
[1:08:29] Speaker 2: and get nasty with me. So you just want to
[1:08:31] Speaker 2: be on the perimeter. All right, go out there, guard him.
[1:08:34] Speaker 2: I'm going to stay down low. And then when he
[1:08:36] Speaker 2: come down here, I'm going to beat that shit.
[1:08:37] Speaker 1: I'm going to give you an answer. God rest his soul.
[1:08:39] Speaker 1: Jason Collins didn't have a chance in hell to guard
[1:08:41] Speaker 1: Shaquille O'Neal.
[1:08:42] Speaker 5: Mm-hmm.
[1:08:44] Speaker 1: Didn't have a shot in the dark at guarding this man.
[1:08:48] Speaker 1: You know what he did? Competed. Foul. Foul. I'm going
[1:08:52] Speaker 1: to give you them fouls. Tried to meet you early.
[1:08:56] Speaker 1: I know once he get it, problems. But you're going
[1:09:00] Speaker 1: to work for it. That's all I'm saying.
[1:09:03] Speaker 3: Right?
[1:09:04] Speaker 1: And check is supposed to be there. Make him top dollar.
[1:09:10] Speaker 1: At the end of the day. Making top dollars, they
[1:09:12] Speaker 1: look at you as their shot blocker, their rim protector.
[1:09:15] Speaker 1: You are that against everybody else.
[1:09:17] Speaker 5: Everybody else.
[1:09:18] Speaker 1: You are a rim protector and a shot blocker against
[1:09:20] Speaker 1: everybody else. Except him? Nah, fuck that. Game one. Nah,
[1:09:25] Speaker 1: fuck that. You know what I'm saying?
[1:09:27] Speaker 4: We will see how it plays out game two and beyond.

[1:10:44] Speaker 2: Fruit flies.
[1:10:45] Speaker 1: Vultures in this bitch and fruit flies and all kind
[1:10:47] Speaker 1: of shit.
[1:10:48] Speaker 4: All of God's creatures are embraced here at Gil's Arena, Kenya.
[1:10:52] Speaker 4: So SGA named the league's most valuable player for the
[1:10:54] Speaker 4: second straight season on Sunday. Adam Silver was in the
[1:10:58] Speaker 4: arena Monday to give him the trophy before game one
[1:11:01] Speaker 4: of the Western Conference Finals. So here's the voting. For reference,
[1:11:06] Speaker 4: SGA received 83 of the 100 first place votes with
[1:11:10] Speaker 4: Jokic coming in second. Unanimous defensive player of the year, Wimby,

[1:11:40] Speaker 4: the field as well. SJ, 14th player in league history
[1:11:43] Speaker 4: to win back-to-back MVPs, first since Nikola Jokic, first guard
[1:11:47] Speaker 4: since Steph Curry did it in 2015 and 16, with
[1:11:50] Speaker 4: Steph still being the only unanimous selection in the history
[1:11:53] Speaker 4: of the NBA.
[1:11:54] Speaker 1: Kenyon? Whoever the motherfucker is that voted fourth place for
[1:11:59] Speaker 1: Shea and fifth place for Nikola, You need to have
[1:12:02] Speaker 1: your fucking credentials snatched. I'm done. That's all. I ain't
[1:12:07] Speaker 1: got shit else to say. He won it, but the
[1:12:09] Speaker 1: motherfucker that whoever the fourth place vote and the fifth
[1:12:14] Speaker 1: place vote for Nikola, that shit is embarrassing. Embarrassing.
[1:12:20] Speaker 8: Well, we know who we're going to be preseason number one.
[1:12:26] Speaker 3: O'Keefe is still.
[1:12:28] Speaker 4: We're looking at this and how this voting handout, Skip,
[1:12:31] Speaker 4: longtime member of the square media have shifted over to
[1:12:35] Speaker 4: the non-square media over here in Gil's Arena presented by
[1:12:37] Speaker 4: Underdog Woo Woo. What's your reaction to SJ winning his
[1:12:40] Speaker 4: second straight most valuable player award?
[1:12:44] Speaker 5: Duh.
[1:12:46] Speaker 1: Duh. Yeah. Duh.
[1:12:50] Speaker 5: I just thought he deserved it. I know we're all
[1:12:52] Speaker 5: prisoners of last night's moment because he sure didn't look
[1:12:56] Speaker 5: like he deserved it last night. against that guy playing
[1:13:00] Speaker 5: for the other team in his house, but all I
[1:13:05] Speaker 5: know is he led the NBA in shots at the rim,
[1:13:10] Speaker 5: and last night I think he had three because of
[1:13:14] Speaker 5: that guy, and As Kenyon pointed out, he missed some
[1:13:18] Speaker 5: mid-range jumpers. He led the NBA in mid-range two-point jump
[1:13:22] Speaker 5: shots at 58%, which is pretty extraordinary. It's pretty hard
[1:13:27] Speaker 5: to make that many of that shot, as Rashad would know,
[1:13:29] Speaker 5: you guys would all know. And his three-point shooting has
[1:13:35] Speaker 5: gone up each of the last four years, and he
[1:13:37] Speaker 5: had a career high this year. And then I know
[1:13:41] Speaker 5: Rashad Has little to no respect for him on the
[1:13:43] Speaker 5: defensive end. But he did finish fifth overall in defensive
[1:13:47] Speaker 5: win shares, which is just hard to do.
[1:13:49] Speaker 1: It just is.
[1:13:51] Speaker 5: And so when you add all that up and the
[1:13:53] Speaker 5: fact that the truth is he is the thunder. They
[1:14:00] Speaker 5: won the West pretty easily. Even though they lost all
[1:14:04] Speaker 5: those games to San Antonio, I'll give you three of
[1:14:06] Speaker 5: those losses. The fourth loss, nobody played.
[1:14:08] Speaker 3: But whatever.
[1:14:09] Speaker 5: But I give you three out of four. And they happened, bam, bam,
[1:14:12] Speaker 5: in 12 days. And it was a tour de force
[1:14:16] Speaker 5: over 12 days. And he looked bad in those three games.
[1:14:20] Speaker 5: He shot three of 17 from three. So they do
[1:14:23] Speaker 5: have his number. But it's almost like Chet. Nobody else
[1:14:28] Speaker 5: has his number. Nobody has Chet's number, but definitely the
[1:14:31] Speaker 5: rest of the league does not have SGA's number. He
[1:14:33] Speaker 5: has its. And this is just me, and maybe I'm
[1:14:39] Speaker 5: not objective, but I don't think he gets enough credit.
[1:14:45] Speaker 5: I think he's underappreciated for what he does on a
[1:14:48] Speaker 5: nightly basis because he went, I've lost track, maybe you
[1:14:51] Speaker 5: know the streak where it ended.
[1:14:52] Speaker 4: At 140 or something.
[1:14:54] Speaker 5: Whatever it was, scoring 20-plus a night, it's just impossible.
[1:15:00] Speaker 5: You guys know you wake up one day and you
[1:15:03] Speaker 5: just don't feel like it, man. And even though you
[1:15:05] Speaker 5: play hard, you go out there and you just, I
[1:15:07] Speaker 5: don't know, your biorhythms are off and you don't have it. Well,
[1:15:10] Speaker 5: his biorhythms are never off because he just keeps on
[1:15:13] Speaker 5: scoring 20-plus. And then he gets named Clutch Player of
[1:15:18] Speaker 5: the Year on top of all that. And if you
[1:15:20] Speaker 5: look at his clutch stats, they're ridiculously good in every category.
[1:15:24] Speaker 5: All the top clutch categories, number one, number one, number one.
[1:15:30] Speaker 5: So everybody doubles him, to your point. Most people try
[1:15:34] Speaker 5: to triple him, and he still does it. Because, listen,
[1:15:41] Speaker 5: he doesn't look like he's playing that hard because he's
[1:15:44] Speaker 5: got that kind of, fourth gear where he just stays
[1:15:47] Speaker 5: in fourth instead of shifting into fifth. But he's always
[1:15:53] Speaker 5: playing at the same pace every single night. And he
[1:15:56] Speaker 5: is the thunder. They don't... I don't... What's that?
[1:16:02] Speaker 1: Dude, that came in second. Yeah? What about it? What
[1:16:08] Speaker 1: do these other than points per game... Okay.
[1:16:14] Speaker 5: Okay.
[1:16:15] Speaker 1: Dude shot better from the field. Damage shot better from three.
[1:16:19] Speaker 1: All around. All around.
[1:16:20] Speaker 5: You're talking about Joker?
[1:16:21] Speaker 1: Yeah. The center averaged more assists than the point guard. Okay.
[1:16:25] Speaker 1: Talking about metrics and stats. Talking about metrics and stats.
[1:16:28] Speaker 3: Metrics and stats.
[1:16:29] Speaker 2: There's no comparing the two.
[1:16:30] Speaker 1: I know I said I only had that to say,
[1:16:31] Speaker 1: but the more you went on, the more I was
[1:16:34] Speaker 1: sounding like bullshit to me, Skip.
[1:16:35] Speaker 8: Yep.
[1:16:37] Speaker 1: The guy that came in second, how much better can
[1:16:39] Speaker 1: he possibly play?
[1:16:39] Speaker 5: What was his team's record? What was his team?
[1:16:41] Speaker 1: Well, how much?
[1:16:42] Speaker 5: Okay, that's all I need to know. Tell me what
[1:16:44] Speaker 5: his record with the Nuggets record was.
[1:16:45] Speaker 1: So you said the team record is the team. We're
[1:16:49] Speaker 1: talking about the individual here. The most valuable player. This
[1:16:53] Speaker 1: here is an individual.
[1:16:55] Speaker 3: Now we brought that up because four and six.
[1:16:57] Speaker 1: Right? This is an individual rule. So if a player
[1:17:00] Speaker 1: is 4-6 in the finals, that means their team. Once again,
[1:17:01] Speaker 1: every basketball conversation that I've had with people, I say,
[1:17:13] Speaker 1: If you're going to bring Michael Jordan up, I'm done
[1:17:15] Speaker 1: talking to you. If you're going to bring LeBron James
[1:17:17] Speaker 1: up in every basketball conversation, I would not have a
[1:17:19] Speaker 1: conversation with you. We're just talking about team accomplishments. I
[1:17:21] Speaker 1: would not. Every conversation we have with people that want
[1:17:25] Speaker 1: to bring Michael Jordan into it, I end the conversation.
[1:17:29] Speaker 1: From this point on, anything we're talking about and it
[1:17:32] Speaker 1: leads back to LeBron, I will be done talking about you.
[1:17:34] Speaker 1: What about Bill Russell? I will be done talking about him.
[1:17:36] Speaker 1: My thing is, this is an individual award we're talking about.
[1:17:40] Speaker 1: This is talking about individual play, right?
[1:17:44] Speaker 3: Yeah.
[1:17:45] Speaker 1: Individual play and what the numbers are, more rebound, the
[1:17:51] Speaker 1: first guy ever, ever to lead the league in rebound
[1:17:56] Speaker 1: and assist. Yes or no? While shooting 57, 58% from
[1:18:00] Speaker 1: the field. Is that not impressive? Is that impressive? 50, what?
[1:18:05] Speaker 1: 38 from three, 89 from 87 from the line.
[1:18:09] Speaker 4: So those individual stats are important is what you're saying, though.
[1:18:12] Speaker 2: Just as important as he's saying SGA stats are.
[1:18:14] Speaker 1: Yeah, that's all I'm saying. Just as important as all them,
[1:18:16] Speaker 1: the win shares and this and that and the field
[1:18:18] Speaker 1: goal percentage and 120 games. Cool. We are seeing history here. Like,
[1:18:28] Speaker 1: history being made the last two seasons with this man
[1:18:31] Speaker 1: last year okay shade what they did okay he deserved
[1:18:34] Speaker 1: last year even i still would have gave it to
[1:18:36] Speaker 1: nicola last year he didn't deserve it last year nicola
[1:18:39] Speaker 1: deserves so and this man comes back and have a
[1:18:42] Speaker 1: better season across the board than he had last year
[1:18:45] Speaker 1: so did sga.
[1:18:46] Speaker 8: So that yeah so that's yeah i played numbers were
[1:18:49] Speaker 8: better the board than last year, Nicola.
[1:18:52] Speaker 1: Same. So was his.
[1:18:53] Speaker 2: So if Joker deserved it last year and his numbers
[1:18:56] Speaker 2: are better this year, it doesn't matter what SGA does.
[1:18:58] Speaker 2: It doesn't matter.
[1:18:59] Speaker 1: It means that I.
[1:19:00] Speaker 2: Deserved it twice.
[1:19:01] Speaker 1: If SGA's numbers are better this year and you don't
[1:19:03] Speaker 1: have a second best player for 49 games in the season.
[1:19:05] Speaker 5: But you did say SGA deserved it last year.
[1:19:09] Speaker 1: I would have gave, no. My vote was Nikola last year.
[1:19:13] Speaker 1: If I got a vote, I'm voting for Nikola for
[1:19:14] Speaker 1: what he does and what the numbers that he, he
[1:19:16] Speaker 1: was what, number one in the points, steals, assists, and rebounds.
[1:19:22] Speaker 1: He was top, what, three in those four major categories
[1:19:25] Speaker 1: and came out this year. The only thing he didn't
[1:19:27] Speaker 1: do as well this year is the steals. Still averaged
[1:19:30] Speaker 1: 1.4 steals, almost a block a game, and every number
[1:19:35] Speaker 1: across the board is up.
[1:19:36] Speaker 4: So individual accomplishments shouldn't be overshadowed by team achievements.
[1:19:40] Speaker 8: Because that's the only reason why SGA is considered the
[1:19:44] Speaker 8: MVP frontrunner is because his team is number one.
[1:19:48] Speaker 1: Averaging 31, shooting 55% from the field. It ain't better
[1:19:51] Speaker 1: than Joker's hat. It's better than me averaging 28 and
[1:19:53] Speaker 1: averaging 11 assists? Huh? No, it's not. I care for
[1:19:58] Speaker 1: more points than you do.
[1:20:00] Speaker 2: And Luka had better stats than SGA.
[1:20:03] Speaker 1: And shoot better from.
[1:20:04] Speaker 3: The field than you. I'm also doing this without Jalen.
[1:20:07] Speaker 1: Shoot better from the field than you. Average more assists
[1:20:10] Speaker 1: than you, shoot about the same clip from a three,
[1:20:12] Speaker 1: and I'm a five, and you're a one.
[1:20:14] Speaker 3: I don't even have my number two.
[1:20:15] Speaker 1: You do got your chats out there. That's all? You
[1:20:17] Speaker 1: got a number two.
[1:20:17] Speaker 3: No, I don't have my number two. That's all?
[1:20:18] Speaker 1: I got a number two out there. I don't have
[1:20:20] Speaker 1: my number two. I'm doing it.
[1:20:21] Speaker 2: My numbers are better without my number two.
[1:20:23] Speaker 1: The wins are the wins, right? That's a team sport.
[1:20:25] Speaker 1: If you're that good, you never won. They draft well.
[1:20:27] Speaker 1: They free agent well. They do all those things well
[1:20:30] Speaker 1: that helps that team's success.
[1:20:31] Speaker 5: Yes.
[1:20:32] Speaker 1: Shea did his part averaging 33, shooting 55% from the field.
[1:20:35] Speaker 1: 140 games, played with 20 points. All those things exist, yes.
[1:20:42] Speaker 1: But this man, Nikola, has simply outplayed him. That's what
[1:20:45] Speaker 1: it is. And Wimby outplayed both of them.
[1:20:48] Speaker 3: Well, your team should be number one then.
[1:20:49] Speaker 1: He's outplayed him.
[1:20:50] Speaker 5: Okay, but without his.
[1:20:52] Speaker 1: And he missed time. How much time did Nikola miss?
[1:20:54] Speaker 8: How much time did J-Dub miss?
[1:20:57] Speaker 1: We're not talking about this teammate.
[1:20:59] Speaker 8: I know, but I'm doing it by myself. I'm doing
[1:21:01] Speaker 8: it by myself.
[1:21:02] Speaker 1: The guy that missed 16 games.
[1:21:04] Speaker 8: I'm doing it by myself, though, without even another guy
[1:21:07] Speaker 8: on here.
[1:21:07] Speaker 1: The guy missed 16 games. You do have another guy
[1:21:09] Speaker 1: out there, Chet Holmgren. What have we said about Oklahoma City?
[1:21:13] Speaker 1: Is Oklahoma City not the deepest team in the NBA?
[1:21:17] Speaker 4: Yes and no. Rashad, would you agree with that? Would
[1:21:18] Speaker 4: you say the San Antonio Spurs? I say Spurs.
[1:21:21] Speaker 1: Okay, but the consensus, besides this shit, the consensus is
[1:21:27] Speaker 1: Oklahoma City is the deepest team in the National Basketball Association.
[1:21:30] Speaker 5: Not in star power.
[1:21:32] Speaker 1: And I said, did I say star power?
[1:21:33] Speaker 2: No, you're just saying deep.
[1:21:34] Speaker 1: Just deep guys that can play.
[1:21:36] Speaker 3: I didn't say nothing about star power. So they have
[1:21:38] Speaker 3: one superstar.
[1:21:39] Speaker 1: They got one superstar and the rest of the guys
[1:21:41] Speaker 1: that can fucking play.
[1:21:43] Speaker 2: Right?
[1:21:44] Speaker 1: They built that team in a certain way to be
[1:21:48] Speaker 1: where they are, to be number one last year, come back,
[1:21:50] Speaker 1: bring the same team back. Adam McCain, Jalen Williams can
[1:21:55] Speaker 1: play 33 games. A.J. Mitchell steps up. Right? He can
[1:21:58] Speaker 1: play 33 games and you're still number one. So what Che.
[1:22:01] Speaker 3: Did, yes.
[1:22:03] Speaker 1: Not taking anything off his plate. Excellent player for what
[1:22:06] Speaker 1: he did this year. Nicola outplayed him. I don't care.
[1:22:10] Speaker 1: Just simply outplayed him.
[1:22:11] Speaker 5: Okay, but he didn't outplay him in the fourth quarter.
[1:22:14] Speaker 5: That's one particular moment, Skip. That moment counts in the
[1:22:19] Speaker 5: regular season. But I watched every one of these games.
[1:22:22] Speaker 5: Every game, they would be in trouble in the fourth,
[1:22:24] Speaker 5: and they would say.
[1:22:26] Speaker 2: Do it.
[1:22:26] Speaker 3: Just here, you do it.
[1:22:27] Speaker 5: And he did it again last night.
[1:22:29] Speaker 1: He scores 12 in the fourth quarter. What's that? You
[1:22:31] Speaker 1: don't think Nicola was put in the same position, Skip?
[1:22:33] Speaker 5: No. I just know that Oklahoma City ran away with
[1:22:38] Speaker 5: the West again.
[1:22:39] Speaker 1: Okay, that's a team thing. You keep bringing all 15
[1:22:42] Speaker 1: guys into this individual award.
[1:22:44] Speaker 5: But the superstar kept taking over when it really mattered.
[1:22:47] Speaker 5: That's what he's supposed to do. That's why he won
[1:22:49] Speaker 5: Clutch Player of the Year.
[1:22:49] Speaker 1: That's what he's supposed to do.
[1:22:51] Speaker 2: So why did they go 5-1 against a team that's
[1:22:53] Speaker 2: going against them now?
[1:22:54] Speaker 1: He's supposed to. The real best player on the floor.
[1:22:57] Speaker 1: But throughout history, though, Skip, you've watched this game for
[1:22:59] Speaker 1: a long time, right? In the fourth quarter, the last
[1:23:02] Speaker 1: five minutes, four minutes, three minutes, two minutes of a game,
[1:23:04] Speaker 1: who steps up? Who's supposed to, historically? It's the guy, right?
[1:23:08] Speaker 1: That guy. From Larry Bird to Magic Johnson to you
[1:23:12] Speaker 1: name it, everybody that's been the man on their team.
[1:23:14] Speaker 3: The Carmelo Anthony's, the.
[1:23:15] Speaker 1: Allen Iverson, the Vince Carter.
[1:23:17] Speaker 4: He was going to stop talking when you mentioned all that.
[1:23:21] Speaker 1: But I'm just, but every main guy.
[1:23:22] Speaker 3: He's got four finals MVP.
[1:23:23] Speaker 1: Every main guy, LeBron James. Four and six. Four finals MVP.
[1:23:26] Speaker 1: LeBron James, Dwyane Wade. Yep. Every guy that's been the
[1:23:32] Speaker 1: guy on their team.
[1:23:33] Speaker 5: Oh, I got it.
[1:23:33] Speaker 1: The last three, four minutes of the game, that's what
[1:23:35] Speaker 1: they're supposed to do. They're supposed to take the most
[1:23:39] Speaker 1: shots and put the team on their back. You're the
[1:23:41] Speaker 1: primary score. The ball's supposed to find you in those moments. Yes.
[1:23:46] Speaker 1: So the point I'm making, Shea is doing his job.
[1:23:50] Speaker 1: I'm not taking anything at all. He's doing what the
[1:23:52] Speaker 1: role calls for. You being All-NBA, you being MVP, you
[1:23:56] Speaker 1: being first-team All-NBA, all these things. Clutch player, yes. That's
[1:24:01] Speaker 1: what the team looks for you to do. Okay. And
[1:24:05] Speaker 1: the same thing with Nikola. And my numbers are better.
[1:24:09] Speaker 5: Okay, so how do you explain the first place vote?
[1:24:11] Speaker 1: Voter's fatigue. Voter's fatigue. And you know this, Skip, because
[1:24:15] Speaker 1: who'd you vote for?
[1:24:16] Speaker 2: Who'd you vote for?
[1:24:17] Speaker 3: It's not voter's fatigue.
[1:24:18] Speaker 2: He had a better year than last year.
[1:24:19] Speaker 1: Who'd you vote for?
[1:24:19] Speaker 2: You voted for him, of course, right? But the defensive
[1:24:22] Speaker 2: player of the year don't get no credit for actually
[1:24:25] Speaker 2: being the top three and taking his team from 11
[1:24:29] Speaker 2: to 2. And if you're talking about team accolades, you're
[1:24:32] Speaker 2: talking about what it does for the team. When he's
[1:24:33] Speaker 2: not on the floor, the scores are what?
[1:24:36] Speaker 1: Negative? So we had your buddy on this couch, Skip,
[1:24:39] Speaker 1: last year. Your buddy, Stephen A. We had him on
[1:24:42] Speaker 1: this black couch. Stephen B, Stephen C. The season wasn't
[1:24:46] Speaker 1: over yet. They still had.
[1:24:49] Speaker 2: Games to play.
[1:24:49] Speaker 1: About 15 games to play. He sat on his very
[1:24:53] Speaker 1: couch and already had his MVP pick me. Not even
[1:24:56] Speaker 1: thinking about changing it. Nothing we could do. With games
[1:24:59] Speaker 1: still to play. And Joker did have another stretch with
[1:25:03] Speaker 1: those 15 games. Voter, this bias is what I'm saying.
[1:25:07] Speaker 1: The point I'm making is that we know a guy
[1:25:08] Speaker 1: that has an actual vote. Yep. And there are still
[1:25:11] Speaker 1: games being played. And you have your ballot already filled in. Mm-hmm.
[1:25:18] Speaker 1: I like him because he's black. Right. Whatever reason he
[1:25:21] Speaker 1: picked him, he still had games to play. Okay.
[1:25:24] Speaker 4: Canadian.
[1:25:24] Speaker 1: So....
[1:25:26] Speaker 3: That's probably it.
[1:25:27] Speaker 8: I mean, I told you there's going to be some
[1:25:29] Speaker 8: uncomfortable conversations with this guy.
[1:25:30] Speaker 1: There's voters fatigue. I mean, Steve Nash got two fucking...
[1:25:33] Speaker 1: Because if you're going by the.
[1:25:34] Speaker 8: If Steve Nash don't have a ring or a finals MVP, no.
[1:25:36] Speaker 2: Two MVPs, he averaged 49-9 in the Western Conference Finals
[1:25:39] Speaker 2: in 2005. He played incredible.
[1:25:42] Speaker 1: You cannot put them in the same conversation.
[1:25:45] Speaker 2: Yes, you can. You have to. One guy got it done.
[1:25:47] Speaker 3: He got it done.
[1:25:48] Speaker 2: Steve Nash didn't foul bait to get it. Did he
[1:25:50] Speaker 2: get it done?
[1:25:50] Speaker 1: He didn't foul bait to get it.
[1:25:52] Speaker 3: Excuse me.
[1:25:52] Speaker 2: He didn't foul bait to get it.
[1:25:53] Speaker 1: Steve Nash is out there mixing motherfuckers up.
[1:25:56] Speaker 2: Every game.
[1:25:57] Speaker 1: Your IQ ain't that high.
[1:25:58] Speaker 3: Every game.
[1:25:59] Speaker 5: Did you think he should have won back-to-back, Nash?
[1:26:01] Speaker 3: Of course not.
[1:26:02] Speaker 5: Because Shaq should have won the second year.
[1:26:04] Speaker 2: Kobe should have won the first year.
[1:26:06] Speaker 1: Kobe should have won.
[1:26:06] Speaker 2: The first year.
[1:26:07] Speaker 8: I don't even know why he's in this conversation when
[1:26:09] Speaker 8: we're talking about a guy who's got it done and
[1:26:11] Speaker 8: got it done at the highest level. Why are we
[1:26:13] Speaker 8: keep bringing guys that never got it done in these conversations?
[1:26:17] Speaker 3: Like, I just don't fucking get it.
[1:26:18] Speaker 1: So what's getting done?
[1:26:19] Speaker 2: What happened last night?
[1:26:19] Speaker 3: You're not having a fucking ring at the.
[1:26:20] Speaker 1: End of the year. What happened last night? It's a
[1:26:22] Speaker 1: regular season award. What happened last night?
[1:26:24] Speaker 2: What happened last night?
[1:26:24] Speaker 3: He lost.
[1:26:25] Speaker 1: He lost one game. He lost one fucking game.
[1:26:28] Speaker 8: You didn't get it done when it mattered.
[1:26:29] Speaker 2: It's not over.
[1:26:30] Speaker 3: You didn't get it done when it mattered. It's just mind-boggling.
[1:26:33] Speaker 8: How are we bringing guys who never want to end
[1:26:35] Speaker 8: these conversations?
[1:26:36] Speaker 2: Because they won MVP. We're talking about MVP. This is crazy.
[1:26:39] Speaker 2: We're not talking about championships.
[1:26:40] Speaker 1: We're talking about MVP voting.
[1:26:42] Speaker 8: You cannot name Steve Nash and fucking SJ in the
[1:26:44] Speaker 8: same conversation.
[1:26:45] Speaker 5: Yes, you can.
[1:26:45] Speaker 1: They won back-to-backs.
[1:26:46] Speaker 3: You cannot do that.
[1:26:47] Speaker 2: They won back-to-backs. They won back-to-backs, but another one got more.
[1:26:50] Speaker 2: More what? He got more what?
[1:26:52] Speaker 3: Do we need to do the Zoom call?
[1:26:53] Speaker 2: He got more what? Do we need to do the
[1:26:54] Speaker 2: Zoom call? This is MVP. This don't say more. This
[1:26:58] Speaker 2: says MVP. Dirk won MVP. KG won MVP. Karl Malone,
[1:27:03] Speaker 2: Charles Barkley, all these guys won MVP.
[1:27:06] Speaker 3: We're not talking about rings.
[1:27:08] Speaker 2: We're talking about if you're moving the goal post.
[1:27:11] Speaker 3: Yes, you are.
[1:27:11] Speaker 2: Steve Nash won back-to-back.
[1:27:13] Speaker 1: No. He's not. Who?
[1:27:18] Speaker 2: No, he's not.
[1:27:19] Speaker 1: Well, speaking of that, Mr. B.
[1:27:20] Speaker 2: He's a Canadian. The only thing they got in the
[1:27:23] Speaker 2: comments is they're both Canadians. And they both say, we
[1:27:26] Speaker 2: both went back-to-back. Technically, both Americans as well. Both North Americans.
[1:27:30] Speaker 1: But, Mr. B.
[1:27:31] Speaker 4: after SGA got back-to-back MVPs, you tweeted this. Let's take
[1:27:34] Speaker 4: a look at Brandon Sweet. SGA, top three point guard
[1:27:37] Speaker 4: all time at the age of 27. Of course. I'm
[1:27:40] Speaker 4: not debating. It's not even debatable.
[1:27:41] Speaker 1: I don't care. Steph Magic, SGA.
[1:27:42] Speaker 3: It's not even debatable.
[1:27:44] Speaker 1: Nah. Nah. You just going on accolades. Yes.
[1:27:47] Speaker 8: He ain't talking about basketball. That is basketball.
[1:27:52] Speaker 3: He ain't a better.
[1:27:52] Speaker 1: Basketball player than fucking Jason Kidd. He's not.
[1:27:56] Speaker 2: Okay.
[1:27:56] Speaker 1: Okay.
[1:27:56] Speaker 3: I don't give a fuck what planet you want to
[1:27:59] Speaker 3: keep talking about. Those are accolades. And I am going
[1:28:01] Speaker 3: to keep saying it.
[1:28:02] Speaker 1: Those are accolades.
[1:28:03] Speaker 3: Get it done. Get it done or get the fuck
[1:28:04] Speaker 3: out the way.
[1:28:05] Speaker 2: J.K.
[1:28:05] Speaker 1: Got a ring.
[1:28:06] Speaker 3: Get it done.
[1:28:07] Speaker 5: J.K.
[1:28:07] Speaker 1: Got a ring.
[1:28:08] Speaker 2: Right.
[1:28:08] Speaker 3: He got a ring.
[1:28:09] Speaker 1: He got a ring.
[1:28:10] Speaker 3: Was it his team?
[1:28:10] Speaker 1: He got a ring.
[1:28:11] Speaker 3: Was it his team?
[1:28:11] Speaker 9: You said getting it done, right? I got both of
[1:28:13] Speaker 9: these at the end of the year. I got both
[1:28:15] Speaker 9: of these at the end of the fucking year.
[1:28:16] Speaker 3: I don't care. I got both of these at the.
[1:28:17] Speaker 2: End of the year.
[1:28:18] Speaker 1: He got a ring. No, I'm not. He got rings.
[1:28:20] Speaker 3: He got one as being.
[1:28:21] Speaker 1: A role player.
[1:28:23] Speaker 3: How many rings does he got?
[1:28:25] Speaker 1: How many rings.
[1:28:26] Speaker 2: Does he got?
[1:28:26] Speaker 1: How many rings does he have?
[1:28:27] Speaker 2: How many Isaiah Thomas got?
[1:28:29] Speaker 3: Huh?
[1:28:29] Speaker 1: How many rings does he got? He got two.
[1:28:31] Speaker 2: He got two. And Joe Dumar's got that other finals MVP.
[1:28:33] Speaker 2: So how many does SGA got?
[1:28:34] Speaker 8: He has one and he has a finals MVP.
[1:28:36] Speaker 3: He has one.
[1:28:37] Speaker 1: And he has two. And he has two MVPs. So
[1:28:39] Speaker 1: SGA is better than Isaiah Thomas? No. How? You just
[1:28:42] Speaker 1: said he got one. He got one. He got two.
[1:28:45] Speaker 1: What you talking about? Come on, man.
[1:28:48] Speaker 3: Come on. Stop playing.
[1:28:49] Speaker 1: Watch out, man.
[1:28:50] Speaker 3: Stop playing.
[1:28:50] Speaker 1: Y'all watch out. Y'all watch out.
[1:28:54] Speaker 3: Just like I asked y'all last time, right? Who are
[1:28:56] Speaker 3: the best three in y'all era, right? You put T-Mac, right?
[1:28:58] Speaker 8: How you going to bring T-Mac To a conversation that
[1:29:00] Speaker 8: he ain't never been out the second.
[1:29:02] Speaker 1: Talking about skills.
[1:29:03] Speaker 3: No, it's not about skills.
[1:29:04] Speaker 5: Yes, nigga.
[1:29:05] Speaker 1: It's skills.
[1:29:06] Speaker 3: This was about accolades.
[1:29:08] Speaker 1: My conversation was about accolades. No, it wasn't. My conversation
[1:29:10] Speaker 1: was about accolades. You said the three best in your era.
[1:29:13] Speaker 9: You said the three best in your era. You said
[1:29:16] Speaker 9: the three best in your era.
[1:29:17] Speaker 2: Of course.
[1:29:18] Speaker 1: You should have said who's the most winningest.
[1:29:20] Speaker 9: No, I said the best three players in your era. Nigga,
[1:29:23] Speaker 9: you should have said the most winningest.
[1:29:25] Speaker 1: You should have said the most winningest. You should have.
[1:29:28] Speaker 9: Said the most winningest. You should have said the most winningest.
[1:29:33] Speaker 9: What the fuck are we talking about? He said, I'm
[1:29:36] Speaker 9: putting my three in my era.
[1:29:38] Speaker 2: These are my three in my era. You said these three.
[1:29:42] Speaker 2: You didn't say nothing about winning. You didn't say nothing
[1:29:45] Speaker 2: about winning. You said the best in my era.
[1:29:47] Speaker 9: Why would I talk about those Those three, because they
[1:29:49] Speaker 9: played in June. Those three I picked because they played
[1:29:54] Speaker 9: in June.
[1:29:55] Speaker 3: Those are the best three ever in my era.
[1:29:57] Speaker 1: A lot of people play in June.
[1:29:58] Speaker 9: Not T-Mac, so I don't know why you're talking about
[1:30:01] Speaker 9: him in this conversation.
[1:30:02] Speaker 1: Two of those guys are on the same team.
[1:30:03] Speaker 9: I don't know why he's in this conversation. Two of
[1:30:05] Speaker 9: those guys you picked on the same team. No, we're not.
[1:30:08] Speaker 9: Of course, everything's about winning. Everything is about winning.
[1:30:10] Speaker 2: No, it ain't.
[1:30:11] Speaker 1: Not the conversation. If it's skill for skill, we're lining
[1:30:14] Speaker 1: it up, B. We're lining it up. Hold on. This
[1:30:18] Speaker 1: ain't never been about skill. It's always about skill. What
[1:30:20] Speaker 1: have you done in 10 years? It's always about skill.
[1:30:22] Speaker 1: What have you done in 10 years? It's always about skill.
[1:30:24] Speaker 1: What have you done in 10 years? It's always about skill.
[1:30:26] Speaker 1: The three players, go look at what they did in
[1:30:28] Speaker 1: 10 years.
[1:30:28] Speaker 9: When I was in the league.
[1:30:30] Speaker 3: From 2010 to 2022. Go look what they did.
[1:30:32] Speaker 8: He brought T-Mac in this fucking conversation.
[1:30:35] Speaker 2: Yes.
[1:30:35] Speaker 1: You lost. I played against him.
[1:30:36] Speaker 3: You lost.
[1:30:37] Speaker 1: I played against him.
[1:30:38] Speaker 9: A guy who can't play in May and June, and
[1:30:40] Speaker 9: we're bringing him into this conversation.
[1:30:42] Speaker 1: Those are team sports. Skills the best three the best
[1:30:46] Speaker 1: the best three What is the best three from your
[1:30:56] Speaker 1: best three I gave you my best three do you
[1:30:57] Speaker 1: want the most winning this or the best three?
[1:30:59] Speaker 9: What's your best three? If that's your best three my
[1:31:02] Speaker 9: three your.
[1:31:02] Speaker 2: Best That was his I'll sub team egg for Allen Iverson,
[1:31:07] Speaker 2: okay I'll sub T-Mac for Allen Iverson. So if I
[1:31:12] Speaker 2: put Allen Iverson, you're going to say, Allen Iverson getting.
[1:31:14] Speaker 1: Cooked because he never won anything.
[1:31:16] Speaker 9: But he is the better guy.
[1:31:19] Speaker 3: Allen Iverson said to himself he's not better. No, he
[1:31:21] Speaker 3: didn't say shit.
[1:31:22] Speaker 9: He's giving that nigga credit because he's a senor.
[1:31:25] Speaker 1: He's a senor. Listen.
[1:31:26] Speaker 8: Listen, the correct answer for y'all Aaron should have been
[1:31:29] Speaker 8: Tim Duncan, Shaq, and Kobe.
[1:31:31] Speaker 9: Why would we play with three big guys? If we're
[1:31:34] Speaker 9: playing three on three, if we're playing three on three,
[1:31:37] Speaker 9: that's what we matched up. This is not about a matchup.
[1:31:40] Speaker 9: This is not about a matchup.
[1:31:42] Speaker 3: Accolades.
[1:31:42] Speaker 2: What was the conversation? You said, who's going to guard Shaq?
[1:31:46] Speaker 2: You said something.
[1:31:47] Speaker 3: LeBron James.
[1:31:48] Speaker 1: I mean, who else? Why are we matching up?
[1:31:51] Speaker 9: Because you're trying to do matchup.
[1:31:54] Speaker 1: You're doing a matchup.
[1:31:54] Speaker 3: I'm doing accolades.
[1:31:55] Speaker 1: Why would you agree to the matchup? You agreed to
[1:31:58] Speaker 1: the matchup.
[1:31:59] Speaker 2: I'm doing accolades.
[1:32:00] Speaker 1: I had to. And then I said, who's going to
[1:32:01] Speaker 1: guard Kobe? You said... Steph.
[1:32:05] Speaker 2: Come on, man.
[1:32:06] Speaker 1: Get the fuck out of here. You're doing skills. Bring
[1:32:09] Speaker 1: up the accolades. Come on, bro. We're not bringing up
[1:32:13] Speaker 1: the accolades.
[1:32:14] Speaker 3: I did. I did.
[1:32:15] Speaker 9: And I'm telling you guys are wrong. And I'm telling.
[1:32:18] Speaker 3: You guys are wrong.
[1:32:20] Speaker 1: Two separate teams.
[1:32:22] Speaker 9: I mean, listen, if I'm talking about the best, why
[1:32:24] Speaker 9: would I bring up somebody who's never, like.
[1:32:26] Speaker 1: I'm... You brought up... You didn't say accolades.
[1:32:30] Speaker 3: I'm bringing up the greatest.
[1:32:31] Speaker 1: So we don't... Listen, one thing we don't know... We
[1:32:34] Speaker 1: don't know our focus. We don't read minds.
[1:32:35] Speaker 3: Okay, in your area that you like to watch.
[1:32:37] Speaker 1: So you.
[1:32:38] Speaker 5: Okay.
[1:32:38] Speaker 3: I've lost track of.
[1:32:41] Speaker 3: Of your argument.
[1:32:42] Speaker 8: Yeah, we have two. We have two. Brandon's legs are
[1:32:46] Speaker 8: in this bag.
[1:32:47] Speaker 9: Brandon's legs have been in this bag for two years.
[1:32:50] Speaker 3: Hold on.
[1:32:50] Speaker 1: Hold on a second.
[1:32:52] Speaker 5: SGA's already a top three point guard.
[1:32:54] Speaker 2: Oh, that part.
[1:32:55] Speaker 3: Okay.
[1:32:56] Speaker 5: I was trying to stay there.
[1:32:58] Speaker 1: Okay.
[1:32:59] Speaker 5: And the other two are.
[1:33:03] Speaker 3: On your list.
[1:33:04] Speaker 5: You got SGA and who else?
[1:33:06] Speaker 3: Magic and Steph. Magic, Steph, and SGA. Okay, I'm glad.
[1:33:09] Speaker 1: It's my top three.
[1:33:09] Speaker 5: I lost track. I wasn't sure Magic was in there
[1:33:11] Speaker 5: because he has to be.
[1:33:12] Speaker 3: Yes, yes, Magic's in there.
[1:33:13] Speaker 1: Okay.
[1:33:14] Speaker 3: That's my top three point guards of all time.
[1:33:15] Speaker 5: Okay, just me, as much as I like SGA, I
[1:33:18] Speaker 5: just need to see more. I need to. It's too soon.
[1:33:22] Speaker 1: It's just too.
[1:33:23] Speaker 5: He's going to play a whole lot more basketball, and
[1:33:27] Speaker 5: he's on an arc right now where he's maybe you'd
[1:33:30] Speaker 5: put him above Magic at some point.
[1:33:32] Speaker 1: You might. You might.
[1:33:35] Speaker 5: Well, I'm just saying, he's got a long way to go.
[1:33:38] Speaker 1: Open a movie theater in the hood. He's got a
[1:33:40] Speaker 1: lot of assists to go. A lot of winning to go.
[1:33:44] Speaker 1: A lot of shit to go.
[1:33:45] Speaker 5: But I got Magic number two to Jordan on my
[1:33:48] Speaker 5: all time, so that's where he belongs.
[1:33:51] Speaker 1: High praise. But that's who he was.
[1:33:54] Speaker 5: That's who he probably will endure being. But I just
[1:34:01] Speaker 5: appreciate the fact that you acknowledged SGA in a big
[1:34:04] Speaker 5: way because most people don't, and I don't, seriously, I
[1:34:09] Speaker 5: don't understand it. There's something missing in SGA that doesn't
[1:34:13] Speaker 5: click with either of you two. There's something, it's like
[1:34:16] Speaker 5: you think he's soft or because he's like a fashion plate.
[1:34:20] Speaker 3: Because he's Canadian.
[1:34:22] Speaker 2: Or is he Canadian? I don't take anything off his plate.
[1:34:26] Speaker 1: He's a 6'6 point guard. Hold on, Skip. I don't
[1:34:27] Speaker 1: take anything off his plate. What does that have to
[1:34:29] Speaker 1: do with that? I give him all credit where credit
[1:34:31] Speaker 1: is due, but he's not done yet. I've watched a
[1:34:35] Speaker 1: lot of basketball.
[1:34:35] Speaker 5: There's some lack of edge to him that you don't
[1:34:37] Speaker 5: like because you played with edge and you played with edge.
[1:34:40] Speaker 5: There's something missing there deep down in your psyche you
[1:34:44] Speaker 5: don't connect with it, where you don't honor it.
[1:34:47] Speaker 1: Not yet.
[1:34:48] Speaker 5: No.
[1:34:49] Speaker 1: Because he's not done playing yet. He's still doing it.
[1:34:51] Speaker 1: I'm giving him credit where credit is due. I just
[1:34:54] Speaker 1: think Nikola has outplayed him the last two years for MVP.
[1:34:58] Speaker 1: What Shea's doing, I can praise him simultaneously saying he's
[1:35:04] Speaker 1: not a better point guard in my eye than Jason Kidd. Okay.
[1:35:07] Speaker 3: Praise him in the same way.
[1:35:08] Speaker 1: He's not. That's what I'm saying. He's more of a scoring.
[1:35:12] Speaker 1: He's not a point guard. He's not a point guard.
[1:35:15] Speaker 3: This man says.
[1:35:16] Speaker 1: Just like they say Allen Iverson. He says point guard.
[1:35:20] Speaker 1: All right.
[1:35:20] Speaker 3: I got it.
[1:35:21] Speaker 1: He says point guard. So, therefore, the phrase. I'm going
[1:35:25] Speaker 1: on his words and his words alone.
[1:35:26] Speaker 5: This is a pure point guard.
[1:35:28] Speaker 3: He's not a point guard.
[1:35:28] Speaker 5: John Stockton was really good.
[1:35:30] Speaker 1: Really good.
[1:35:30] Speaker 5: Like really good.
[1:35:31] Speaker 1: Okay.
[1:35:32] Speaker 5: Just his pure point.
[1:35:33] Speaker 1: Allen Iverson is not a point guard. Is he not?
[1:35:36] Speaker 1: Is he not? Why is he not? So why is
[1:35:39] Speaker 1: Steph considered a point guard? He says Steph is number one.
[1:35:42] Speaker 2: Why is Steph number one and he's the same as
[1:35:45] Speaker 2: Allen Iverson, but Allen Iverson is a shooting guard? Why
[1:35:49] Speaker 2: is SGA a point guard and he plays just like
[1:35:52] Speaker 2: Allen Iverson?
[1:35:54] Speaker 1: It's weird!
[1:35:56] Speaker 3: Why can't the point guard game elevate, right? Just like
[1:35:58] Speaker 3: the center game, right?
[1:35:59] Speaker 8: The center game is so different from when you guys played, right?
[1:36:01] Speaker 8: Throw it in a post, right? Now we got a
[1:36:04] Speaker 8: center today that's damn near the point guard. So what
[1:36:07] Speaker 8: is the difference? SGA is listed as a point guard.
[1:36:10] Speaker 8: Point guard game has elevated. That's why the game is
[1:36:12] Speaker 8: getting so... I'm saying he's a point guard. I'm saying
[1:36:15] Speaker 8: he's a point guard, Brandon. No, but they're saying he's
[1:36:18] Speaker 8: not a point guard. I don't look at Steph as that. Yeah,
[1:36:20] Speaker 8: but that's... Because of how he came in doing it.
[1:36:23] Speaker 8: I look at Shea as a point guard for his team, yes.
[1:36:28] Speaker 8: Steph has the ball.
[1:36:29] Speaker 1: I mean, SGA has the ball in his hands during
[1:36:32] Speaker 1: the course of the game more than Steph has. During
[1:36:37] Speaker 1: his career, SGA dribbles the ball each game more than
[1:36:42] Speaker 1: Steph does. So I don't look at Steph as the
[1:36:48] Speaker 1: point guard. He's the smallest on the court, yes, and
[1:36:53] Speaker 1: by definition of height, he is quote-unquote the point guard.
[1:36:58] Speaker 5: No, but Draymond plays the point more.
[1:37:00] Speaker 1: Than Steph, right?
[1:37:01] Speaker 2: And on that team, Draymond Green is the point guard.
[1:37:05] Speaker 1: But on that team, he's the point guard. Draymond's position
[1:37:09] Speaker 1: is power forward, but on that team, he is the
[1:37:12] Speaker 1: point guard. On Oklahoma City team, Shea is the point guard.
[1:37:19] Speaker 1: When Allen Iverson and Eric Snow played on the team together,
[1:37:23] Speaker 1: Eric Snow was the point guard. Allen Iverson was the
[1:37:27] Speaker 1: shooting guard. By stature, size, and everything says point guard.
[1:37:34] Speaker 2: Yes.
[1:37:35] Speaker 1: Him and Steph, in my eyes, are the same people.
[1:37:39] Speaker 3: So what is James Harden to you?
[1:37:40] Speaker 1: He's a two guard. 100%, bro. That they made into
[1:37:45] Speaker 1: a point guard because of what his skill set brought
[1:37:49] Speaker 1: to the table.
[1:37:49] Speaker 3: He ain't running one at Arizona State?
[1:37:52] Speaker 1: James is not a point.
[1:37:53] Speaker 3: He didn't.
[1:37:54] Speaker 2: He didn't.
[1:37:54] Speaker 3: He came in as a student.
[1:37:56] Speaker 1: Just listen. Same as Nicola, right? Nicola's not a point guard.
[1:37:59] Speaker 1: He led the league in assists. Yes? James has led
[1:38:01] Speaker 1: the league in assists, and James is not a point guard.
[1:38:03] Speaker 5: Hmm.
[1:38:03] Speaker 1: He's a shooting guard that can pass. He's a shooting
[1:38:05] Speaker 1: guard that can pass it. And hear me out. And
[1:38:08] Speaker 1: if James decided to, he could have averaged more assists
[1:38:11] Speaker 1: than he did.
[1:38:12] Speaker 3: Yep. That's true.
[1:38:14] Speaker 1: But because it's playmaking to build up. Is Dwayne Wade
[1:38:17] Speaker 1: a shooting guard or a point guard? He's a shooting guard.
[1:38:18] Speaker 1: He came in as a shooting guard. He's a pure
[1:38:20] Speaker 1: shooting guard. He's a pure shooting guard.
[1:38:21] Speaker 3: He's a two. He came in as a two.
[1:38:23] Speaker 1: He played the point guard.
[1:38:25] Speaker 2: He played the point guard position.
[1:38:27] Speaker 5: Magic Johnson was a pure point guard to me, right?
[1:38:30] Speaker 1: Yes.
[1:38:31] Speaker 5: Start to finish.
[1:38:33] Speaker 3: Is that even a thing now?
[1:38:34] Speaker 4: Or is that Norm Nixon?
[1:38:36] Speaker 1: Norm Nixon came in.
[1:38:38] Speaker 3: You know the facts. That's what I'm saying. It books
[1:38:40] Speaker 3: up the game. Is that even a thing now, a
[1:38:42] Speaker 3: pure point guard?
[1:38:43] Speaker 1: Yes.
[1:38:43] Speaker 8: I just feel like everything has been elevated. Like the
[1:38:46] Speaker 8: center position. Like you said, history. Yo, this is history.
[1:38:50] Speaker 8: We've never so like saying, hey, Shaq versus Jokic. It's
[1:38:53] Speaker 8: kind of like, you know, like how would.
[1:38:56] Speaker 2: That play out?
[1:38:56] Speaker 8: Like we got a center that's like shooting threes now,
[1:39:00] Speaker 8: that's making plays. Like that's a whole different type. And
[1:39:03] Speaker 8: now you're saying, okay, hey, Isaiah Thomas, go guard, SGA.
[1:39:07] Speaker 3: SGA is 6'6. Like what are we doing? Like what
[1:39:10] Speaker 3: are we talking about?
[1:39:11] Speaker 2: You're saying the game is elevated, right?
[1:39:13] Speaker 3: It's elevated, so it's like.
[1:39:14] Speaker 2: Why has it elevated? Because the actual point guard that
[1:39:17] Speaker 2: has the ball is now being asked to be the
[1:39:21] Speaker 2: dominant scorer on the team. Go back to Isaiah Thomas,
[1:39:24] Speaker 2: little IT that you just said, to play for the
[1:39:26] Speaker 2: Boston Celtics.
[1:39:27] Speaker 3: No, no.
[1:39:28] Speaker 2: I'm talking about him. I'm just talking about for him.
[1:39:30] Speaker 2: He was a scoring point guard. He was forced to
[1:39:34] Speaker 2: go out there and score the ball. Damon Lillard. Even
[1:39:38] Speaker 2: Russell Westbrook. When Russ put his head down and say,
[1:39:41] Speaker 2: I'm going to score, I can score average 30 points
[1:39:43] Speaker 2: a game. 10 assists, 10 rebounds. If it's elevated, we've
[1:39:48] Speaker 2: elevated the point guard position where Steph is still considered
[1:39:51] Speaker 2: a point guard without having to bring the ball up,
[1:39:54] Speaker 2: run the offense, get Klay Thompson involved, or none of
[1:39:57] Speaker 2: the Andre Miller type, Jason Kidd type, John Stockton type,
[1:40:02] Speaker 2: Chris Paul type. None of that type of... positional fortitude,
[1:40:07] Speaker 2: you don't even get that. Now, if you're the point guard,
[1:40:09] Speaker 2: the reason you can score is because you got the
[1:40:11] Speaker 2: ball in your hands the most. So, if you can
[1:40:13] Speaker 2: go do your shit, Brandon Jennings, as a point guard,
[1:40:16] Speaker 2: you came in, flash and pass. But once you found
[1:40:19] Speaker 2: out motherfuckers couldn't guard you... I'm going to get 55
[1:40:22] Speaker 2: on y'all niggas because you can't guard me. Now I
[1:40:24] Speaker 2: can really go do my shit. It opens my game
[1:40:27] Speaker 2: up because you got to respect me as a scorer.
[1:40:29] Speaker 2: That's the elevation of what the game has come. We
[1:40:33] Speaker 2: went away from the point guard passing the ball.
[1:40:36] Speaker 1: You were a passing guard that could score.
[1:40:38] Speaker 3: That could score. You were a pass first.
[1:40:39] Speaker 5: What did you see yourself as?
[1:40:40] Speaker 3: Like you said, a passing guard that could score.
[1:40:42] Speaker 5: Did you think of yourself as a point guard?
[1:40:44] Speaker 3: He was a point guard.
[1:40:46] Speaker 1: He was a pass first guard.
[1:40:48] Speaker 3: But that's because that's how we was taught.
[1:40:50] Speaker 1: Right.
[1:40:50] Speaker 8: And I feel like now the game is so elevating
[1:40:53] Speaker 8: to like score first, pass second.
[1:40:55] Speaker 3: Like think about it.
[1:40:56] Speaker 2: Cade.
[1:40:56] Speaker 3: Cade is 6'6, 6'7. There's not going to be a
[1:40:59] Speaker 3: lot of guards, point guards in the top five that
[1:41:01] Speaker 3: are 6'1.
[1:41:02] Speaker 1: Who you going to play as a point guard on
[1:41:04] Speaker 1: their team? No, but guess what?
[1:41:05] Speaker 3: If it's not him, who you going to.
[1:41:06] Speaker 1: Play better though? But guess when they had Jenkins at
[1:41:09] Speaker 1: the point and Cade was at the two. He's playing
[1:41:11] Speaker 1: off the ball. They're a better team.
[1:41:13] Speaker 3: They play way better.
[1:41:15] Speaker 1: They are a better team when you got a point
[1:41:17] Speaker 1: guard out there. He can play the position because he's dumb,
[1:41:20] Speaker 1: he's big, he's aggressive. Advantages.
[1:41:23] Speaker 2: Advantages, right?
[1:41:24] Speaker 1: But all actuality is... You are better when you got
[1:41:28] Speaker 1: a traditional guy at that position and you can let
[1:41:32] Speaker 1: that scoring guard be him. Donovan Mitchell probably was his
[1:41:37] Speaker 1: best when he, there's Garland next to him. Yes. That's
[1:41:39] Speaker 1: all I'm saying. Yes. Tyrese Maxey ain't figured it out
[1:41:42] Speaker 1: yet because he's a scoring guard. He is better James
[1:41:45] Speaker 1: is next to him James a willing pass to change
[1:41:47] Speaker 1: like do your thing don't do your thing But I
[1:41:49] Speaker 1: can score when I need to like game six in
[1:41:52] Speaker 1: Detroit James double-double this that he told me it's that right? Yeah,
[1:41:56] Speaker 1: so it's the same as Donovan Mitchell and James Harden
[1:41:58] Speaker 1: are pretty much the same thing But James is the
[1:42:00] Speaker 1: better pass right? Okay, CJ McCollum Dame Lillard. Ooh, right
[1:42:05] Speaker 1: both two guards and Both two guards. One of them
[1:42:08] Speaker 1: guys is going to have to force to be the
[1:42:11] Speaker 1: point guard. Because you can't not play both of them.
[1:42:13] Speaker 1: Dame can handle it better, so you're going to put
[1:42:15] Speaker 1: Dame as the point. So the kid from Utah, Isaiah....
[1:42:21] Speaker 3: So those type of players still need it.
[1:42:24] Speaker 8: But Keion George is the same size.
[1:42:28] Speaker 1: He can score it. But I'm going to rather have
[1:42:32] Speaker 1: the ball in Isaiah Collier's hand. He's got a playmaker.
[1:42:34] Speaker 3: It's a facilitator.
[1:42:37] Speaker 1: You need that score. You need a ball handling that
[1:42:41] Speaker 1: relief pressure that knows how to get the ball to
[1:42:43] Speaker 1: win where how. You still need that. You are packaged.
[1:42:47] Speaker 1: You knew it. Listen, I'm going to get it off.
[1:42:50] Speaker 1: But then if I need a bucket, I can still
[1:42:52] Speaker 1: go get it. Okay. Isaiah Card is a pass first
[1:42:55] Speaker 1: guys with scoring is probably limited. Yeah. Can go get
[1:42:57] Speaker 1: a bucket.
[1:42:58] Speaker 3: Okay.
[1:42:58] Speaker 2: Okay.
[1:42:58] Speaker 1: Because how fast he is. Okay. Okay. It's that.
[1:43:01] Speaker 3: Okay.
[1:43:01] Speaker 1: Right. But Steph Allen Iverson done. Those dudes are special. Dame. Dame. 6'2, 6'3. special.
[1:43:10] Speaker 1: They are special in that field, what they do.
[1:43:13] Speaker 3: So do we call them just killers?
[1:43:16] Speaker 2: Yes.
[1:43:16] Speaker 1: Basketball players. What you saying about Luka though?
[1:43:20] Speaker 5: Okay, so earlier you said Luka's only going to pass
[1:43:24] Speaker 5: it because he can't find the shot.
[1:43:26] Speaker 1: Right?
[1:43:26] Speaker 5: So is he a point guard? Well, he can average...
[1:43:30] Speaker 5: you know 10 assists he can do double digit.
[1:43:32] Speaker 2: I think he can do both because he likes to
[1:43:35] Speaker 2: set up the offense and he's a really good i
[1:43:37] Speaker 2: think that for his mentality he's setting the offense for
[1:43:40] Speaker 2: his advantage so that he can have the advantage at
[1:43:43] Speaker 2: the top of the key i can go by my
[1:43:45] Speaker 2: guy because y'all worried about the pin downs y'all worried
[1:43:47] Speaker 2: about the curls i can go do my thing and
[1:43:49] Speaker 2: get the advantage i don't think traditionally he's out there
[1:43:53] Speaker 2: trying to make his teammates better Andre Miller, Chauncey Billups,
[1:43:57] Speaker 2: certain guys that want to make the team better. He's
[1:44:00] Speaker 2: not one of those guys. He's trying to get his
[1:44:02] Speaker 2: shot off.
[1:44:03] Speaker 1: This is about Luka. This is about Luka. It's all.
[1:44:05] Speaker 1: It's about Luka.
[1:44:06] Speaker 5: And by the way, he led the league by far
[1:44:09] Speaker 5: in usage rate, so it's going to be in his hand.
[1:44:12] Speaker 5: And he also led the league by far in turnovers
[1:44:15] Speaker 5: per game because he's just going to turn it over.
[1:44:17] Speaker 5: A lot of times because he can't find a shot
[1:44:20] Speaker 5: and then he just tries something crazy.
[1:44:22] Speaker 2: But he can pass. He does know how to make
[1:44:25] Speaker 2: the right play. He is a right playmaker at the
[1:44:28] Speaker 2: right time, but it's just more times than not he's
[1:44:31] Speaker 2: looking for his shot.
[1:44:32] Speaker 1: His best attribute he can bring to the table is
[1:44:34] Speaker 1: kicking the ball ahead.
[1:44:35] Speaker 3: Facts.
[1:44:35] Speaker 1: Because once he gets in the half court, you know
[1:44:37] Speaker 1: what he's going to do with it. Right? It's my ball. Yeah,
[1:44:38] Speaker 1: it's my ball in the half court. So, Brandon, it's
[1:44:40] Speaker 1: the same thing with Trae Young, right? That's a good one.
[1:44:43] Speaker 1: It's the same thing with Trae Young, right?
[1:44:45] Speaker 3: I was about to say Trae Young's name.
[1:44:46] Speaker 1: It's the same thing with Trae Young. I was about
[1:44:47] Speaker 1: to say Trae Young. Right? Lead the league in assists.
[1:44:50] Speaker 1: Go average at least nine every year.
[1:44:52] Speaker 5: And turnovers.
[1:44:53] Speaker 1: But going to put the, you know, on the other
[1:44:55] Speaker 1: side of that thing. I was just. Brandon, you fit Steph, Trey, Dane. Like, well,
[1:45:01] Speaker 1: you pass the ball better than them do because you're
[1:45:02] Speaker 1: willing to pass it first.
[1:45:03] Speaker 5: Yeah.
[1:45:03] Speaker 1: But Steph, Trey, like that's, if you play in this NBA,
[1:45:07] Speaker 1: that's what you will be that, right? You got to
[1:45:09] Speaker 1: guard me. You got to guard me. Yeah. I can
[1:45:12] Speaker 1: get the boom, boom, boom. Got this thing. I can
[1:45:13] Speaker 1: still do this. I can still make the right play.
[1:45:16] Speaker 1: But you going to do this first.
[1:45:18] Speaker 4: Yeah.
[1:45:18] Speaker 2: Right?
[1:45:18] Speaker 1: You want to get, because it leads to his point
[1:45:21] Speaker 1: he just made. Now you've got to guard me.
[1:45:24] Speaker 8: Like that SGA to Caruso, I'm making that pass to Caruso.
[1:45:27] Speaker 3: Yes.
[1:45:27] Speaker 1: You know what I'm saying? Yes.
[1:45:28] Speaker 3: I'm making it.
[1:45:29] Speaker 1: Because if my Caruso might throw that bitch up to you, you're.
[1:45:31] Speaker 2: Never going to get it back.
[1:45:32] Speaker 3: I'm making the pass because it's just the right play.
[1:45:33] Speaker 1: You want to, yeah.
[1:45:34] Speaker 3: I'm making the right.
[1:45:35] Speaker 2: We're talking to.
[1:45:36] Speaker 8: If somebody's ahead of you, do what?
[1:45:38] Speaker 1: Throw it to them. Because you're going to get it back.
[1:45:40] Speaker 3: More than likely.
[1:45:41] Speaker 1: Or you're going to make him... You're going to do your...
[1:45:42] Speaker 1: You're going to do your thing.
[1:45:43] Speaker 3: You're going to do... Forget the.
[1:45:44] Speaker 1: You're going to make the right play. Whatever it is
[1:45:47] Speaker 1: in that regard. Okay. That's all I'm saying. Go ahead, Joe.
[1:45:49] Speaker 1: Go ahead, Joe.
[1:45:49] Speaker 2: You think you are.
[1:45:51] Speaker 1: bread point guard pass first. But I'm a bucket while
[1:45:56] Speaker 1: I still can average motherfucking nine, ten assists in this bitch.
[1:46:00] Speaker 1: Steph is not, I don't give a fuck on any hard,
[1:46:03] Speaker 1: Steph can try as hard as he want to. Five backs.
[1:46:07] Speaker 8: So with these four teams left in, right, the playoffs,
[1:46:10] Speaker 8: we got the Cavs, we got the Knicks, and we
[1:46:12] Speaker 8: got the Spurs and OKC.
[1:46:15] Speaker 3: What team has a real point guard?
[1:46:18] Speaker 1: James Harden.
[1:46:19] Speaker 3: Yep. Is James Harden the only real point guard?
[1:46:21] Speaker 1: Brunson and SGA are the same players as me.
[1:46:23] Speaker 3: So it's like James Harden is the only real point
[1:46:25] Speaker 3: guard on the road.
[1:46:26] Speaker 1: And I'm not even going to say that. But I'll
[1:46:29] Speaker 1: give him that because he's led the league in assists.
[1:46:31] Speaker 2: And I'll throw Dan Fox in there as a.
[1:46:33] Speaker 3: Because we're talking about what you need to get down
[1:46:37] Speaker 3: the stretch.
[1:46:37] Speaker 8: Because it's just interesting now that we're talking about this
[1:46:39] Speaker 8: and it's like, okay, well, who got a real point
[1:46:40] Speaker 8: guard in this situation?
[1:46:42] Speaker 2: James is willing to defer, though. He's willing to defer.
[1:46:44] Speaker 1: He is the closest thing that we have to a
[1:46:46] Speaker 1: real point guard in the best of these four teams
[1:46:48] Speaker 1: as we're going to get.
[1:46:50] Speaker 4: Since you guys brought up James Harden, let's talk a
[1:46:51] Speaker 4: little bit about the Cleveland Cavaliers. Pistons dominated the second
[1:46:56] Speaker 4: half in Game 6 of Cleveland to get a 21-point
[1:46:58] Speaker 4: win to force Game 7 back at their crib.
[1:47:01] Speaker 1: After overcoming a 3-1.
[1:47:02] Speaker 4: Deficit in the first round, Detroit had high hopes of
[1:47:05] Speaker 4: getting their second straight comeback series win. But like Canyon says,
[1:47:08] Speaker 4: we know where hope works at. So let's check out
[1:47:10] Speaker 4: these highlights if we can, please. So Cavs dominated in
[1:47:14] Speaker 4: the first half as the Pistons' offense went cold. After
[1:47:17] Speaker 4: outscoring Detroit 31-22 in the first frame, Cleveland went on
[1:47:20] Speaker 4: a 24-9 run in the second quarter, taking a 17-point
[1:47:22] Speaker 4: lead at the break. Things just got worse for Detroit
[1:47:24] Speaker 4: in the second half as they trailed by as much
[1:47:26] Speaker 4: as 35 points in this game. Donovan Mitchell took over
[1:47:30] Speaker 4: in the third quarter, scoring 15 of his game-high 26
[1:47:33] Speaker 4: points in that third frame. The fighter also had eight
[1:47:35] Speaker 4: assists and six boards in the game. Jared Allen delivered
[1:47:38] Speaker 4: a never-big-time Game 7 performance, 23 points and seven boards
[1:47:42] Speaker 4: in 25 minutes of action. Evan Mobley added 21 points
[1:47:46] Speaker 4: and 12 boards, and Sam Merrill was big off the
[1:47:48] Speaker 4: bench with 23 points, going five for eight from three.
[1:47:51] Speaker 4: James Harden had another tough game seven, though, nine points
[1:47:54] Speaker 4: on two of 10 shooting, but the Beard did have
[1:47:56] Speaker 4: six assists and was plus 31 in this game. Cade
[1:47:59] Speaker 4: Cunningham struggled in this one as well, finishing with 13
[1:48:02] Speaker 4: points on five of 16 shooting. Danish Jenkins led the
[1:48:06] Speaker 4: Pistons with a team-high 17 points, but was also four
[1:48:09] Speaker 4: of 12 from the field, while Tobias Harris, Jalen Dern,
[1:48:11] Speaker 4: and Azorah Thompson combined for 17 points while going to
[1:48:15] Speaker 4: combine five for 20 from the field. The Cavs held
[1:48:18] Speaker 4: the Pistons at 35% shooting for the game. Outscored them 58-34.
[1:48:24] Speaker 1: Points in the paint.
[1:48:25] Speaker 4: Cavs advanced to the Eastern Conference Finals for the first
[1:48:27] Speaker 4: time since 2018. So, Sean, when you look at this
[1:48:33] Speaker 4: Cavs series, Cavs get another Game 7 win. Eastern Conference Finals,
[1:48:38] Speaker 4: what are your biggest takeaways from the Cavs' Game 7
[1:48:39] Speaker 4: win over the Pistons in Detroit?
[1:48:42] Speaker 2: Well, I think out of all the predictions, I think
[1:48:46] Speaker 2: everybody picked the Pistons, right?
[1:48:48] Speaker 1: Y'all all picked the Pistons. I picked the Cavs. I
[1:48:50] Speaker 1: believe so. What, Game 7? Mm-hmm.
[1:48:53] Speaker 2: And I just seen something that I knew was going
[1:48:56] Speaker 2: to be the difference maker.
[1:48:57] Speaker 1: Did you say you was wrong in Game 6, though?
[1:49:00] Speaker 1: Did you tell them you was wrong in Game 6?
[1:49:03] Speaker 1: Was I wrong in Game 6? I thought I picked
[1:49:06] Speaker 1: I thought you picked the Cavs like us. No. I
[1:49:10] Speaker 1: was always on the opposite side of y'all. Oh, we
[1:49:12] Speaker 1: know that.
[1:49:12] Speaker 2: One thing for sure.
[1:49:14] Speaker 1: We know that.
[1:49:15] Speaker 2: But I think the takeaway is, like, I think everybody's
[1:49:19] Speaker 2: been feeling Cade had did so much to get them
[1:49:23] Speaker 2: in that position, and he burnt out. And I think
[1:49:25] Speaker 2: when you burn out in that position, you're looking at,
[1:49:28] Speaker 2: who else is going to help me pick up the pieces?
[1:49:30] Speaker 2: Pick up the pieces. Tobias, pick up the pieces. J.
[1:49:34] Speaker 2: Cole wasn't there.
[1:49:34] Speaker 3: Mm-mm.
[1:49:35] Speaker 2: He wasn't there. He didn't show up. And then Durden
[1:49:37] Speaker 2: tried to show up.
[1:49:39] Speaker 1: Six. He heard you. He heard me. He heard you
[1:49:42] Speaker 1: because he played harder. Played it.
[1:49:43] Speaker 2: Right? But he's not the guy you depend on to
[1:49:46] Speaker 2: get you buckets. Sasser came in finally. They finally put
[1:49:49] Speaker 2: the guys in, Paul Reed, Sasser, Karis LeVert, to try
[1:49:53] Speaker 2: to balance the equation. But I think what the Cavs
[1:49:56] Speaker 2: did was they played possum. I think they waited for
[1:50:00] Speaker 2: game seven to actually put it away. I looked at
[1:50:03] Speaker 2: the faces of Donovan Mitchell, James Harden in Game 6,
[1:50:06] Speaker 2: and it just didn't look like they was engaged, like
[1:50:08] Speaker 2: they was going to take this game off and go
[1:50:09] Speaker 2: put it away in Game 7. And I don't think
[1:50:13] Speaker 2: they can do this against the Knicks. I think it's
[1:50:15] Speaker 2: going to be a way cleaner matchup for the Knicks.
[1:50:17] Speaker 2: I think Jalen Brunson is going to take this matchup
[1:50:22] Speaker 2: very seriously against no defense, James Harden, barely any defense,
[1:50:27] Speaker 2: Donovan Mitchell. Max Struess is going to go in. He's
[1:50:30] Speaker 2: going to do what he does. I think he's the
[1:50:32] Speaker 2: one guy that's going to change the game as far
[1:50:34] Speaker 2: as energy, effort, playing defense, hitting shots. He's the one
[1:50:36] Speaker 2: guy on their team that actually shows up when he's
[1:50:38] Speaker 2: consistent with the energy. Jared Allen, he shows up game seven.
[1:50:43] Speaker 2: They need him. He did the same thing in the
[1:50:45] Speaker 2: Magic series. I don't know, man. Evan Mobley's just not
[1:50:50] Speaker 2: that kind of guy you can depend on. It's like
[1:50:52] Speaker 2: they got too many variables.
[1:50:54] Speaker 3: Evan Mobley?
[1:50:55] Speaker 1: Evan Mobley.
[1:50:56] Speaker 4: He's balling.
[1:50:57] Speaker 1: Nah, he not balling like he supposed to.
[1:50:59] Speaker 3: Last game?
[1:51:00] Speaker 2: He not balling like he supposed to. He not balling
[1:51:03] Speaker 2: like he supposed to.
[1:51:06] Speaker 5: 21-12-6-2?
[1:51:06] Speaker 3: Nah.
[1:51:07] Speaker 1: Nah.
[1:51:08] Speaker 2: Nah.
[1:51:09] Speaker 1: Nah. Nah.
[1:51:10] Speaker 2: I like what Jared Allen did more than him. You know,
[1:51:12] Speaker 2: you can fill the stat seats when you up 40.
[1:51:14] Speaker 2: You can do certain shit. But when we need you
[1:51:17] Speaker 2: to do certain shit, six, five. Like, you punked out
[1:51:21] Speaker 2: on me. So, I'm looking ahead now. I'm like, Knicks,
[1:51:24] Speaker 2: all right. You got... Carl Anthony Towns and Mitchell Robinson,
[1:51:28] Speaker 2: guys who play hard. They're going to attack from all angles.
[1:51:32] Speaker 2: I don't see the Pistons as a team that's going
[1:51:35] Speaker 2: to come back next year and do what they did
[1:51:37] Speaker 2: this year. I think that this year was as far
[1:51:39] Speaker 2: as they go with it because everyone's going to refurbish
[1:51:42] Speaker 2: their teams. And the Pistons, I believe, The players that
[1:51:48] Speaker 2: they have didn't show up. I mean, what you talking about?
[1:51:51] Speaker 2: Duncan Robinson, all those guys didn't show up, man. And
[1:51:54] Speaker 2: it's unfortunate for Cade because he plays so hard, come
[1:51:57] Speaker 2: back from a collapsed lung, and to have to burn
[1:52:00] Speaker 2: himself out for that?
[1:52:01] Speaker 1: Nah.
[1:52:03] Speaker 2: I don't see Detroit coming back and doing what they
[1:52:06] Speaker 2: need to do. But the Cavs, they got a chance
[1:52:10] Speaker 2: to get rid of the James Harden curse, to get
[1:52:12] Speaker 2: over the Donovan Mitchell curse, and to make some noise
[1:52:15] Speaker 2: for the Cleveland Cavaliers again. But the only thing going
[1:52:19] Speaker 2: wrong for Cleveland is Cleveland. You know, they still got
[1:52:22] Speaker 2: doo-doo brown colors. They still attached to the Cleveland Browns.
[1:52:26] Speaker 1: Wine and ghost. Doo-doo brown.
[1:52:28] Speaker 2: You know, still got the residue of LeBron James leaving.
[1:52:32] Speaker 1: It's a lot of shit going on over there. Only championship.
[1:52:34] Speaker 2: If they can get over that little hump, I'll roll
[1:52:37] Speaker 2: with the Cavs, but I don't think they get bad
[1:52:39] Speaker 2: as the Knicks. Can I say this? In the beginning
[1:52:42] Speaker 2: of the season, who did I pick? I picked the
[1:52:44] Speaker 2: Knicks and the Spurs.
[1:52:45] Speaker 1: Yes, you did. I just want to... Make sure y'all
[1:52:47] Speaker 1: get that.
[1:52:48] Speaker 3: But you left the Knicks because of the thumb.
[1:52:49] Speaker 1: Because of the thumb. Yeah, you did.
[1:52:51] Speaker 2: So if it wasn't for Josh Hart, I would have
[1:52:53] Speaker 2: two of my teams in.
[1:52:55] Speaker 1: But Josh Hart fucked everything up. A thumb in the tutti.
[1:52:58] Speaker 3: Yeah.
[1:53:01] Speaker 1: With the last series of the Detroit series, yeah, Kate
[1:53:07] Speaker 1: had to do too much. I think he got worn down.
[1:53:10] Speaker 1: Them throwing multiple bodies at him. Game in, game out,
[1:53:13] Speaker 1: having to. do too much throughout the course of the
[1:53:16] Speaker 1: game and not just being able to put his cape
[1:53:18] Speaker 1: on in the fourth quarter when they needed him. Jared
[1:53:23] Speaker 1: Allen played great. Evan Mobley did his thing. Max Strews,
[1:53:28] Speaker 1: I think, was the key. The way he defended. The
[1:53:30] Speaker 1: way him and Wade defended Kade throughout the seven games.
[1:53:34] Speaker 1: I think they did an excellent job. But in game seven, right,
[1:53:41] Speaker 1: you have to... This is a critique of J.B. Bickerstaff.
[1:53:46] Speaker 1: I think he did a hell of a job throughout
[1:53:48] Speaker 1: the year, right? During tough times, tough decisions have to
[1:53:53] Speaker 1: be made. And in that game, and throughout that series,
[1:53:58] Speaker 1: but in that particular game, right, there are two bigs,
[1:54:01] Speaker 1: Jared Allen and Evan Mobley. The first half controlled the game.
[1:54:04] Speaker 1: Jared Allen controlled it throughout, right? And you didn't match
[1:54:09] Speaker 1: his energy and their their size, right? You got during
[1:54:14] Speaker 1: and or Stewart and or Paul Reed trying to battle
[1:54:17] Speaker 1: both of them. I'm like in my feelings because watching
[1:54:23] Speaker 1: the game, I'm like, yo, Play two bigs. Play two bigs.
[1:54:28] Speaker 1: Put Paul Reed in. Paul Reed can match Evan Mobley
[1:54:31] Speaker 1: just energy. I ain't saying he's going to match his production,
[1:54:34] Speaker 1: just his energy, lively body. He's going to match that energy.
[1:54:37] Speaker 1: He can guard him. You need Isaiah Stewart and or
[1:54:41] Speaker 1: Duran to just focus in on Jared Allen. I would
[1:54:45] Speaker 1: have put Stewart in in that moment because of his energy,
[1:54:47] Speaker 1: what Jared Allen was bringing to the table. Just the energy.
[1:54:50] Speaker 1: He might do something crazy. We know that. But I'm
[1:54:54] Speaker 1: taking a chance in that moment. It's game seven. Ain't
[1:54:57] Speaker 1: no tomorrow. That was just the biggest thing that I
[1:55:01] Speaker 1: saw with the coaching and the matchup and how the
[1:55:03] Speaker 1: game was going in game seven. And Cleveland did their thing.
[1:55:05] Speaker 1: They went in Detroit, which I picked Detroit to win
[1:55:07] Speaker 1: game seven on their home floor. Cleveland had not proved
[1:55:11] Speaker 1: to me that they can go in a tough environment
[1:55:13] Speaker 1: and win on the road, but they did. Next year
[1:55:17] Speaker 1: is going to be a lot different. I think both ways.
[1:55:20] Speaker 1: Cleveland was able to defend Detroit because they didn't have shooters.
[1:55:25] Speaker 1: The Knicks won't be able to play Cleveland the same
[1:55:27] Speaker 1: way because they have shooters, right? I think it's going
[1:55:30] Speaker 1: to keep those defenders honest. The wing defenders, Bridges, Hart,
[1:55:36] Speaker 1: those guys, I think it's going to keep them guys honest.
[1:55:40] Speaker 1: And Donovan will be able to do his thing for
[1:55:42] Speaker 1: the most part because you got shooters. And it depends
[1:55:45] Speaker 1: on what James Harden is going to show up in
[1:55:46] Speaker 1: this series. Is he going to be a facilitator or
[1:55:48] Speaker 1: a scorer? I don't think both is needed right now,
[1:55:53] Speaker 1: but as the series goes on, one role might change.
[1:55:55] Speaker 1: It might flip-flop, but it's going to be a good series.
[1:55:59] Speaker 1: I'm picking the Knicks in this series, but it's going
[1:56:03] Speaker 1: to be a good series. I like what Cleveland has displayed.
[1:56:06] Speaker 1: I like the way Max Struess is playing. I like
[1:56:08] Speaker 1: the way the other guys are playing, the energy guys.
[1:56:11] Speaker 1: I like what they're bringing to the table. Yeah, but
[1:56:15] Speaker 1: I think the Pistons, in that regard, I think they're
[1:56:17] Speaker 1: going to go back to the drawing board. They understand
[1:56:19] Speaker 1: Cade needs some help. Tobias can't be your number two.
[1:56:22] Speaker 1: Durant can't be your number two. They have money to
[1:56:24] Speaker 1: spend this offseason. Do you think they extend? I mean,
[1:56:28] Speaker 1: they got to give Durant his bread.
[1:56:30] Speaker 3: He don't deserve no damn back.
[1:56:31] Speaker 1: But still, I think they cut it to it.
[1:56:33] Speaker 3: His ass can go. No, they cut it to it.
[1:56:36] Speaker 3: Thank you for your services.
[1:56:38] Speaker 8: But listen, there's only one guy safe here.
[1:56:40] Speaker 1: 22 years old, Mr. B? No, because he's going to
[1:56:42] Speaker 1: be an All-NBA player. They got to pay him. But
[1:56:44] Speaker 1: I don't think it's.
[1:56:45] Speaker 3: Listen, we ain't got to. Listen.
[1:56:46] Speaker 1: I think they knocked some of that off to go
[1:56:48] Speaker 1: get another guy. Okay, what if he say no?
[1:56:51] Speaker 8: What if he say no?
[1:56:54] Speaker 1: Let the doorknob hit you with a good lord split you.
[1:56:57] Speaker 5: Okay, all right.
[1:56:59] Speaker 1: Hey, yo, let that doorknob hit you in the crack
[1:57:03] Speaker 1: of your ass on the way out. In the crack
[1:57:06] Speaker 1: of your ass? That's what a good lord split you.
[1:57:07] Speaker 3: Okay, why not?
[1:57:09] Speaker 1: So you know what they're saying, right? What a good
[1:57:11] Speaker 1: lord split you. What you got? What you got?
[1:57:14] Speaker 8: I mean, for me, I mean, just to their point,
[1:57:18] Speaker 8: I think the, I mean, I think this series went
[1:57:20] Speaker 8: too long for the Cavs. I think just the fact
[1:57:24] Speaker 8: that the Pistons don't really have a lot of scoring
[1:57:26] Speaker 8: on that side and a lot of guys didn't really
[1:57:27] Speaker 8: show up and Cade had to do a lot. I
[1:57:31] Speaker 8: think that's one of the reasons why the Cavs won't
[1:57:33] Speaker 8: get past the Knicks because they just took too much
[1:57:34] Speaker 8: time off this series, which this year should have been
[1:57:37] Speaker 8: over for them. If we're just looking at it on paper,
[1:57:40] Speaker 8: I mean, come on. And then with the Pistons, man, yeah.
[1:57:45] Speaker 8: I mean, you know, I think it's time that they regroup.
[1:57:47] Speaker 8: You know, they're kind of in the same position like
[1:57:49] Speaker 8: the Bucs right now. You know, everybody's on the table
[1:57:53] Speaker 8: and you just figure out what's next with them. I mean,
[1:57:55] Speaker 8: you got to keep Cade for sure. And then, but,
[1:57:58] Speaker 8: you know, with Dern, you know, he had probably one
[1:58:00] Speaker 8: of the worst drop-offs ever in NBA history.
[1:58:03] Speaker 3: I mean, he went from 19 to 10 points in
[1:58:05] Speaker 3: the playoffs.
[1:58:05] Speaker 8: I mean, that was like the craziest drop-off from anybody.
[1:58:09] Speaker 8: So to pay him the max and give him all that,
[1:58:13] Speaker 8: I mean, I think you're just shooting yourself in the foot.
[1:58:16] Speaker 8: I think the writing's on the wall because, I mean,
[1:58:18] Speaker 8: next year is going to be the same damn thing.
[1:58:20] Speaker 3: I mean, what's going to happen? The NBA gets better
[1:58:22] Speaker 3: every year. So you can't hide.
[1:58:24] Speaker 4: Jalen Dern, I mean, 22 years old. I'm just going
[1:58:26] Speaker 4: to say, he can't get better?
[1:58:27] Speaker 8: Yeah, but this is different.
[1:58:31] Speaker 3: This ain't the Spurs.
[1:58:32] Speaker 8: The Spurs got a lot of history and guys that's
[1:58:36] Speaker 8: still coming back around. I'm not saying that the Detroit
[1:58:38] Speaker 8: guys aren't coming back around, but it's just different. And
[1:58:41] Speaker 8: he's just showing that he's soft as hell. And I
[1:58:44] Speaker 8: wouldn't trust him not a bit. I mean, all this
[1:58:46] Speaker 8: because you lost your girl or whatever. It's like, yo, bro. Like, yo, bro,
[1:58:50] Speaker 8: we got to figure this shit out.
[1:58:51] Speaker 1: Like, this is bigger.
[1:58:53] Speaker 8: And we saw it in the Magic in Orlando Sears,
[1:58:55] Speaker 8: and it carried on. So, to me, the only person
[1:58:57] Speaker 8: safe on this team is Kate.
[1:59:02] Speaker 5: Yeah, Jalen Dern, I got him. He was 20-11 in
[1:59:05] Speaker 5: the regular season, 10-9 in the postseason. I mean, it's
[1:59:09] Speaker 5: just staggering. That could be the biggest.
[1:59:12] Speaker 1: So I just can't let the Pistons off any hooks
[1:59:14] Speaker 1: here because.
[1:59:43] Speaker 5: I really like this team to the regular season, and
[1:59:45] Speaker 5: they did win the East by four games, and I
[1:59:47] Speaker 5: like the coach a lot, and I like the star.
[1:59:50] Speaker 5: I'm not sure he's qualified as a superstar yet, but
[1:59:53] Speaker 5: I like him a lot, Cade, and yet Rashad's right.
[1:59:59] Speaker 5: I've missed a bunch of picks on the show, everyone
[2:00:01] Speaker 5: involving the Detroit Pistons, because I kept believing when I
[2:00:05] Speaker 5: shouldn't believe, and they're the one seed against the eight
[2:00:10] Speaker 5: seed against Orlando and they come out and they lose
[2:00:13] Speaker 5: game one at home. And then they go to Orlando
[2:00:15] Speaker 5: and lose three and four and they're down three to one.
[2:00:18] Speaker 5: And then they say, okay, let's play.
[2:00:20] Speaker 1: Let's play. Oh, okay.
[2:00:23] Speaker 3: It took that.
[2:00:24] Speaker 2: Okay.
[2:00:24] Speaker 5: Let's play. And, and you face three straight eliminations and I'm,
[2:00:29] Speaker 5: I'm back on the bandwagon. I'm like, okay, here we go.
[2:00:32] Speaker 3: Right.
[2:00:33] Speaker 5: And, then you win two at home and you lose
[2:00:36] Speaker 5: two at Cleveland. And in that game five, I just,
[2:00:38] Speaker 5: I haven't gotten over it, man, because they're up nine
[2:00:41] Speaker 5: with two and a half left at home. You're up nine.
[2:00:46] Speaker 5: The superstar, he's just got to get it home at home.
[2:00:49] Speaker 5: You just got to figure it out. And meanwhile, James
[2:00:52] Speaker 5: Harden in the fourth quarter and overtime of that game
[2:00:55] Speaker 5: five is going one of eight from the floor and
[2:00:57] Speaker 5: over three from three. And, three turnovers, and he's missing
[2:01:02] Speaker 5: three free throws in overtime? He just keeps missing free throws.
[2:01:06] Speaker 5: He keeps saying, here?
[2:01:08] Speaker 8: No.
[2:01:09] Speaker 5: No, you guys take it. And then you said you
[2:01:13] Speaker 5: just saw it in their eyes, but Detroit goes to
[2:01:17] Speaker 5: Cleveland and says, boom, right?
[2:01:21] Speaker 3: You know, here, here. I thought it was over.
[2:01:24] Speaker 5: Yeah, so now, wait, you got game seven at home?
[2:01:29] Speaker 3: And this happens?
[2:01:32] Speaker 5: It's beyond comprehension. It's 125 to 94 in your house?
[2:01:38] Speaker 1: 125?
[2:01:38] Speaker 5: I don't get it. Something is really wrong with this
[2:01:43] Speaker 5: basketball team or organization. There's something missing in there psyche-wise, belief-wise.
[2:01:52] Speaker 3: Man, I don't know.
[2:01:53] Speaker 5: I don't know if I've ever seen anything quite like
[2:01:55] Speaker 5: this from a one seed where Every other night, You
[2:02:02] Speaker 5: just don't show up at all, like at all. Game seven,
[2:02:07] Speaker 5: I tried to watch it, but it was over like that.
[2:02:11] Speaker 5: And maybe you're right. Maybe Donovan and James just said, okay,
[2:02:14] Speaker 5: especially Donovan, just said, no, no, no. But it's a
[2:02:18] Speaker 5: dangerous game you're playing if you say, let's wait until
[2:02:21] Speaker 5: game seven. We'll go win game seven at their place.
[2:02:23] Speaker 1: Really? Dangerous game, yes.
[2:02:25] Speaker 5: Okay, but this is just wrong, wrong, wrong because– This
[2:02:31] Speaker 5: team showed you for 82 games it's way better than this.
[2:02:35] Speaker 5: To me, and I know this is the real stuff.
[2:02:38] Speaker 5: This is when it happens. This is when it counts.
[2:02:42] Speaker 5: But something went way wrong here, and I don't know.
[2:02:48] Speaker 5: Does it start with the head coach? I love him.
[2:02:50] Speaker 3: I do believe.
[2:02:51] Speaker 5: I've always liked him.
[2:02:52] Speaker 1: Slow the flawed roster.
[2:02:54] Speaker 3: Yeah, it is.
[2:02:55] Speaker 1: It is.
[2:02:55] Speaker 5: But it wasn't flawed through 82 games.
[2:02:57] Speaker 1: It was not. It's a regular season. It was not.
[2:02:59] Speaker 1: It's a regular season when everything is free-flowing. Yep. The
[2:03:03] Speaker 1: big guy can catch four lobs a game. He did.
[2:03:05] Speaker 1: And he ain't got to work on no post moves. No. Like,
[2:03:08] Speaker 1: all of those. I'm just saying, this is what it is.
[2:03:09] Speaker 1: But you won without a, you know, with the clap.
[2:03:13] Speaker 2: It's already established.
[2:03:14] Speaker 1: You went with eight and two. Free-flowing. And they won
[2:03:16] Speaker 1: the East by how many games? Four.
[2:03:19] Speaker 2: Four games?
[2:03:20] Speaker 5: And Danis comes out of nowhere. He's a G-leaguer. And
[2:03:24] Speaker 5: he just starts lighting it up, man. And he actually
[2:03:27] Speaker 5: had some playoff moments that were pretty good.
[2:03:30] Speaker 1: They need another playmaker. They need shooters. Yeah. They need
[2:03:34] Speaker 1: a sore Thompson to get in the gym. They do.
[2:03:37] Speaker 1: They need Warren to get in the gym. Yeah.
[2:03:40] Speaker 5: And Tobias is a number three instead of a.
[2:03:42] Speaker 1: Two, you know. Tobias is a free agent next year,
[2:03:44] Speaker 1: so they got a decision there to make. They can,
[2:03:47] Speaker 1: if he take a major pay cut or they let
[2:03:48] Speaker 1: him walk. Yeah. I think Duncan Robinson is a free
[2:03:52] Speaker 1: agent as well. Is Duncan Robinson a free agent?
[2:03:54] Speaker 5: I believe he is.
[2:03:55] Speaker 1: But you can't have... No, Duncan's under contract. Okay, you
[2:03:58] Speaker 1: can't have... Oh, it's Kevin Hurd. That's a free agent.
[2:04:01] Speaker 1: You can't have a roster where you got Duncan Robinson
[2:04:03] Speaker 1: and Kevin Hurd on the same roster. It's just... You
[2:04:07] Speaker 1: can't do this. They're the same player. Yeah, no, they
[2:04:12] Speaker 1: got answers to... They got questions to answer in offseason.
[2:04:17] Speaker 1: But I think that they... Trajan Langdon and what y'all
[2:04:20] Speaker 1: gonna do, right? This is on you to fix this.
[2:04:23] Speaker 1: This is on you to go out and... figure out
[2:04:25] Speaker 1: what you guys are going to offer during, see if
[2:04:27] Speaker 1: he's going to accept it. But you got to put
[2:04:30] Speaker 1: that roster together in a way to help Cade. He
[2:04:34] Speaker 1: had to do entirely too much in this playoff season.
[2:04:38] Speaker 1: Both first round and second round, right? That's a long series,
[2:04:43] Speaker 1: a lot of wear on that body. You could tell
[2:04:47] Speaker 1: in game seven, man. Long series, a lot of different
[2:04:50] Speaker 1: defenders on him. He was tired. He looked tired.
[2:04:53] Speaker 3: Bias Harris, I mean, where are you?
[2:04:55] Speaker 4: Let's shift ahead to the Eastern Conference Finals. Starts tonight. Cavs, Knicks, 3C, 4C.
[2:05:02] Speaker 1: At the Garden.
[2:05:03] Speaker 4: Is that Madison Square Garden? Where the lights are bright.
[2:05:07] Speaker 4: Do you think that the Cavs have a chance in
[2:05:09] Speaker 4: this series?
[2:05:10] Speaker 6: Chance?
[2:05:11] Speaker 1: I think they can make it competitive. Yeah. You can't
[2:05:14] Speaker 1: count them out. Can't count them out because they play
[2:05:16] Speaker 1: great at home.
[2:05:17] Speaker 2: I think James and Donovan have to come with a
[2:05:19] Speaker 2: different type of emotion to this particular series.
[2:05:23] Speaker 1: Compared to last.
[2:05:24] Speaker 2: I think they was a little bit nonchalant, knowing that
[2:05:27] Speaker 2: their experience can outweigh the Pistons. But I think now,
[2:05:32] Speaker 2: going against somebody like Jalen Brunson, who's proven to come
[2:05:36] Speaker 2: in and take your heart out, especially at the Garden.
[2:05:39] Speaker 2: Then you got Karl-Anthony Towns. He's no Jalen Durden. He's
[2:05:42] Speaker 2: going to come in, he's going to get his boards,
[2:05:44] Speaker 2: he's going to shoot his threes, he's going to drive
[2:05:46] Speaker 2: the basket. I think Mitchell Robinson, he's going to get
[2:05:50] Speaker 2: offers of boards. You've got to block him out every
[2:05:52] Speaker 2: single possession. You've got Josh Hart, who matches Max Struess.
[2:05:55] Speaker 2: You've got Mikael Bridges, who runs around all day long.
[2:05:58] Speaker 2: You've got Alvarado. You've got McBride. You've got OG, who
[2:06:02] Speaker 2: may be available. You've got a bunch of guys that
[2:06:06] Speaker 2: really have something to prove to the city of New York.
[2:06:08] Speaker 2: And I think that's more of a saying right now
[2:06:12] Speaker 2: is they have more to prove to New York than
[2:06:14] Speaker 2: Cleveland has to prove to Cleveland. And I think that's
[2:06:17] Speaker 2: going to be the deciding factor.
[2:06:18] Speaker 3: I think New York has more pressure on them. Cleveland
[2:06:21] Speaker 3: don't have pressure. That's the thing.
[2:06:25] Speaker 2: Donovan has to prove, compared to you, he has to
[2:06:29] Speaker 2: prove to you that he can be a number one option.
[2:06:34] Speaker 1: And take them to the finals and do all the things.
[2:06:37] Speaker 8: I said when they got James Harden, I said, now
[2:06:39] Speaker 8: he's a number one option on the championship team.
[2:06:41] Speaker 2: I'm just saying. He has to prove it now. He
[2:06:44] Speaker 2: got pressure on him, too. James got pressure on him.
[2:06:47] Speaker 2: Can you get your team there?
[2:06:49] Speaker 8: They have pressure, but they don't have as much pressure
[2:06:51] Speaker 8: as the Knicks, though. The Knicks was in the club
[2:06:54] Speaker 8: partying last year saying that they're going to the finals,
[2:06:58] Speaker 8: so the Cavs, they ain't been back here since Bronx. So,
[2:07:01] Speaker 8: you know, it's new back to this. It's new to
[2:07:03] Speaker 8: the city again. So, I mean, yes, it's pressure for
[2:07:06] Speaker 8: who they are, but, you know, if they lose, they lose.
[2:07:09] Speaker 8: I mean, it's kind of like, you know, like, you know,
[2:07:12] Speaker 8: we're expecting, you know, I mean, you know what the
[2:07:13] Speaker 8: NBA want?
[2:07:15] Speaker 1: What they want? You want with the Cavs, huh?
[2:07:18] Speaker 5: No.
[2:07:18] Speaker 1: Going with the Knicks? Yeah.
[2:07:20] Speaker 3: Knicks first, man. Knicks first again. You know how they
[2:07:23] Speaker 3: did that lockout year.
[2:07:25] Speaker 1: Skip, why is it simple to you?
[2:07:28] Speaker 5: It's the Best offense in the East versus one of
[2:07:31] Speaker 5: the worst, certainly for a playoff team, defenses. You already
[2:07:36] Speaker 5: pointed out Donovan and James. They don't care. They're not
[2:07:41] Speaker 5: going to play much defense. And I think they're going
[2:07:43] Speaker 5: to get mostly shredded. But I do like them to win.
[2:07:48] Speaker 5: I'll say they can win a couple home games. So
[2:07:50] Speaker 5: I'll go Knicks in six and definitely Knicks tonight.
[2:07:54] Speaker 1: Okay. Game one of the series kicks off tonight. I
[2:07:57] Speaker 1: want to see them do some coaching like I just stated.
[2:08:00] Speaker 1: like matching Mitchell Robinson minutes up with Jared Allen.
[2:08:05] Speaker 3: Yep.
[2:08:07] Speaker 1: Like Carl Anthony Towns and Mobley, they battle. But having
[2:08:13] Speaker 1: Carl Anthony Towns try to deal with both of them
[2:08:15] Speaker 1: bigs is a tall ass. Can only block one of
[2:08:17] Speaker 1: them out. especially if OG not available. Trying to play
[2:08:22] Speaker 1: small against them is not going to work. So I
[2:08:25] Speaker 1: think you got to play Carl Anthony Towns and Mitchell
[2:08:28] Speaker 1: Robinson together some. Offset Jared Allen's energy.
[2:08:34] Speaker 4: Let's wrap up today with our playoff picks powered by
[2:08:36] Speaker 4: Underdogs Prediction Markets. Let's take a look at the updated
[2:08:39] Speaker 4: standings if we can, please.
[2:08:41] Speaker 1: Oh, shit.
[2:08:41] Speaker 4: I'm still at the top.
[2:08:42] Speaker 1: Can you still?
[2:08:44] Speaker 4: Hmm?
[2:08:47] Speaker 1: I'm not good at math.
[2:08:48] Speaker 2: I mean, yeah, I'm not good at math either, but
[2:08:51] Speaker 2: I think.
[2:08:52] Speaker 1: Great at hosting. We're going to do the math. Damn, Brandon.
[2:08:57] Speaker 1: I'm up there.
[2:08:58] Speaker 3: I don't know how I'm 35 and 36. We had
[2:08:59] Speaker 3: a bad week, bro.
[2:09:03] Speaker 1: Come in, you pick the same team. Rashad's number one.
[2:09:05] Speaker 3: Just one, though.
[2:09:07] Speaker 1: Rashad is number one and Kenyon's number two. How?
[2:09:09] Speaker 3: Let me see. All right, well, tonight I got the Knicks,
[2:09:11] Speaker 3: so write that down. I should be 36th.
[2:09:13] Speaker 1: You got 10 losses. So you got you 10 games above.
[2:09:16] Speaker 1: Hold on, let me do it. Go ahead and do
[2:09:18] Speaker 1: that math. I'm 32.
[2:09:21] Speaker 3: I swear to God, somebody fucked up my score, man.
[2:09:24] Speaker 1: Yeah, you got 10. But I've played more games than him.
[2:09:27] Speaker 2: Yeah, he ain't played enough games to match up with me.
[2:09:30] Speaker 1: I think you were in first place. I'm still in
[2:09:32] Speaker 1: first place, brother. He ain't matched up. Very slim margins.
[2:09:35] Speaker 1: Slim margins, but I'm still in first place, Kim.
[2:09:37] Speaker 4: So game one of the Eastern Conference Finals tonight at
[2:09:38] Speaker 4: Madison Square Garden where the Knicks are ready to host
[2:09:40] Speaker 4: the Cleveland Cavaliers.
[2:09:41] Speaker 1: Knicks.
[2:09:42] Speaker 4: Cavs coming off two consecutive seven-game series with one day
[2:09:45] Speaker 4: of rest since their last game seven in Detroit. Meanwhile,
[2:09:48] Speaker 4: it's been nine days since the Knicks have played their
[2:09:50] Speaker 4: last game. Regardless, the Knicks are favorites tonight on their
[2:09:52] Speaker 4: home floor coming off the sweep of the Sixers. 68%
[2:09:55] Speaker 4: chance to win game one. Cavs with a 32% chance
[2:09:58] Speaker 4: to win. Let's go around the couch.
[2:09:59] Speaker 1: Hold on. Did y'all give Nick his loss after he
[2:10:01] Speaker 1: picked when the game was over? Yeah. That's what I
[2:10:04] Speaker 1: want to know.
[2:10:05] Speaker 2: Yeah, he lost anyway. He lost anyway.
[2:10:07] Speaker 1: That motherfucker picked when the game was over, so.
[2:10:11] Speaker 3: Picking when the game was over.
[2:10:12] Speaker 2: That shit was. He in China.
[2:10:15] Speaker 1: He in China. I get that, but hey. Yee-haw. Whole
[2:10:20] Speaker 1: next day over that motherfucker. I'm going Nick's.
[2:10:23] Speaker 8: Nick's.
[2:10:24] Speaker 1: Nick's.
[2:10:27] Speaker 3: Are we going to have another? No, I'm going to
[2:10:29] Speaker 3: go next. They'll take care of him.
[2:10:30] Speaker 1: He ain't close anyway. It don't matter who you pick.
[2:10:32] Speaker 1: So nobody will advance.
[2:10:34] Speaker 3: Listen, I can go eight. Listen, I can go eight.
[2:10:37] Speaker 1: As a result of this?
[2:10:38] Speaker 3: 14 games. Listen, I can still catch up.
[2:10:40] Speaker 1: You picked the Thunder.
[2:10:42] Speaker 3: You picked the Thunder.
[2:10:43] Speaker 1: Yeah, that shit going to be rocking.
[2:10:44] Speaker 3: That's fine, but we still going with Nick.
[2:10:47] Speaker 2: Hey, y'all know Tombstone's in the chat. Make sure everybody
[2:10:52] Speaker 2: put the Tombstone's in the chat. Everybody want to know
[2:10:55] Speaker 2: who this is. You know, this is. Gilly, are you okay? Gilly,
[2:11:00] Speaker 2: are you okay? Are you okay, Gilly? Someday we'll meet again.
[2:11:06] Speaker 2: And Skip, we might have to do a real funeral
[2:11:08] Speaker 2: service at the end of the finals to properly bury
[2:11:12] Speaker 2: him for once and for all.
[2:11:16] Speaker 1: Duck in the smoke.
[2:11:19] Speaker 4: On that note, shout out to everybody in the chat.
[2:11:21] Speaker 4: Appreciate everybody on this couch. Appreciate our talented crew as well.
