The NBA Playoffs' Night Of Upsets STUNS Gil's Arena as the Gil's Arena Crew react to all 3 underdogs coming out on top in their Game 2's of the NBA Playoffs and discuss all the storylines that came along with it. They tip things off with the Los Angeles Lakers as they react to LeBron James continuing to put the Lake Show on his back with Luka Doncic & Austin Reaves out of the lineup and debate if this level of play from the shorthanded Lakers is sustainable throughout the rest of the series before breaking down Kevin Durant's rusty return to the NBA Playoffs and discussing the biggest issue faceing KD's Rockets. Next, they turn their attention to San Antonio where Victor Wembanyama's breakout was spoiled after the french phenom went down with a concussion, allowing the Portland Trailblazers to squeek out a win and get themselves back into the series. They discuss how concerning Wemby's concussion is for the Spurs if they have to play on in the series without their superstar and highlight Scoot Henderson as the difference maker in the series as the former #3 overall pick shined with his first 30 point playoff game. Finally, they break down VJ Edgecombe and Tyrese Maxey stunning the Boston Celtics at home to even the series for the Philadelphia 76ers and debate if this stunning victory changes the perception of the Sixers in the NBA Playoffs, before giving their take on what could be the end of the Golden State Warriors dynasty as Steph Curry, Draymond Green and Steve Kerr all teased an uncertain future following their elimination from the Play-In tournament. [0:03] Speaker 1: Welcome back to Gil's Arena presented by Underdog. Whoa, whoa. Whoa, whoa.
[0:07] Speaker 1: Glorious day here in the arena. Sun is shiny.
[0:12] Speaker 2: Beautiful evening last night. Saw some of the Twitch watch party.
[0:17] Speaker 2: I know y'all got to watch these Lakers.
[0:21] Speaker 1: Yeah, we did. It was a little quiet. Everybody, we good? Okay.
[0:24] Speaker 1: I won. She is.
[0:27] Speaker 3: We won, Sean.
[0:28] Speaker 1: We won. The people won. He won one game.
[0:31] Speaker 4: We won.
[0:33] Speaker 1: Four and four. I think I'm four and four.
[0:35] Speaker 2: I have to discuss on the show today. This is
[0:38] Speaker 2: Gil's Arena presented by Underdog. I'm merely a host, Josiah Johnson.
[0:42] Speaker 2: We got one of the biggest legends in the sports
[0:44] Speaker 2: media game, Skip Bayless, back with us on the couch.
[0:47] Speaker 1: It's my turn! Got you a sound effect, Skip. We
[0:51] Speaker 1: worked our magic.
[0:53] Speaker 2: Representing the tough crowd and the car-carrying country club member,
[0:56] Speaker 2: we got Mr. B, Brandon Jennings.
[0:58] Speaker 1: Yes, sir. That new tough crowd, I like it. When that?
[1:03] Speaker 1: May 15, when they're hitting this door?
[1:06] Speaker 3: After the Drake album.
[1:06] Speaker 1: Okay.
[1:09] Speaker 2: On this side of the couch, we got a distinguished
[1:10] Speaker 2: gentleman from Oak Cliff, former number one pick.
[1:12] Speaker 1: Kenya Martin. Yeah.
[1:15] Speaker 5: What's up, Mike?
[1:19] Speaker 2: And last but not least, the man they call Cemetery Larry,
[1:21] Speaker 2: NCAA Champion of the World, Dr. Rashad McCants, Ph.D.
[1:25] Speaker 5: Yeah.
[1:30] Speaker 3: That was easy.
[1:33] Speaker 1: I like the sign, Julius Irving. Oh, yeah. I don't know. Philly.
[1:37] Speaker 3: Okay.
[1:39] Speaker 1: Philly.
[1:41] Speaker 2: Show some love to Philly. The Sixers are doing their thing.
[1:44] Speaker 2: We got a lot to discuss. Here's what's cracking in
[1:47] Speaker 2: Gil's arena today. KD's return didn't stop the Lakers from
[1:51] Speaker 2: taking a 2-0 lead in their series. What's Houston's biggest
[1:55] Speaker 2: problem right now?
[1:57] Speaker 1: You see it.
[1:58] Speaker 2: The Spurs lost women to a concussion in Game 2,
[2:01] Speaker 2: proceeded to lose to the Blazers to even the series.
[2:04] Speaker 2: Can San Antonio stay afloat without their alien? And the Sixers'
[2:08] Speaker 2: backcourt bounced back in Game 2 to tie things up,
[2:11] Speaker 2: heading back to Philly. How concerned should the Celtics be
[2:14] Speaker 2: with losing home court advantage in this series? But before
[2:16] Speaker 2: we get to all that, as always, the show is
[2:18] Speaker 2: brought to you by Underdog. Underdog's available in most states,

[2:44] Speaker 2: on YouTube, we got audio versions available on Apple or Spotify,
[2:47] Speaker 2: wherever you get your podcasts from. So we're going to
[2:50] Speaker 2: start this one in L.A. Saw you gentlemen had the
[2:52] Speaker 2: Twitch live party, watched the party last night.
[2:56] Speaker 1: Watch these Lakers.
[2:56] Speaker 2: Lakers put together one of their best performances of the
[2:59] Speaker 2: season on both sides of the ball to take game
[3:01] Speaker 2: one Saturday. Rockets were without Kevin Durant, who was ruled
[3:05] Speaker 2: out with a knee injury. KD made his return for
[3:07] Speaker 2: game two in his Rockets' playoff debut as Houston looked
[3:10] Speaker 2: to even the series. But the Lakers' makeshift big three
[3:14] Speaker 2: was up to the challenge and continued to give Houston
[3:16] Speaker 2: problems on both sides of the ball. Let's check out
[3:19] Speaker 2: the highlights, please. These glorious highlights, if we can. Lakers'
[3:23] Speaker 2: offense came out on fire once again, shooting 61% from
[3:25] Speaker 2: the field, nearly 56% from three.
[3:30] Speaker 1: In the first quarter. Marcus Martin, Luke Kennard, aka.
[3:33] Speaker 2: Luca Kennard, combined for 24 points in the first frame,
[3:36] Speaker 2: including five threes. Purple and gold led by seven after
[3:41] Speaker 2: the first quarter of action. You see Luke Kennard doing it.
[3:45] Speaker 2: Representing for this Lakers squad. It was beautiful to see
[3:50] Speaker 2: in person, I'm not going to lie. Lakers led by
[3:52] Speaker 2: as much as 15 in the second quarter of Thanks
[3:57] Speaker 2: to shots like that from Brown, but the Rockets responded.
[4:01] Speaker 2: They closed the half with a 17-5 run. They cut
[4:04] Speaker 2: the deficit to three at the break.
[4:08] Speaker 1: Boom.
[4:09] Speaker 2: Kevin Durant paced the Rockets with 20 points in the
[4:11] Speaker 2: first half, which was held to just three points in
[4:13] Speaker 2: the second half. With the Lakers' defense forcing Durant into
[4:16] Speaker 2: a game-high nine turnovers with endless double-teams. Operant Shane Goon
[4:20] Speaker 2: had 20 points, 11 boards, and five dimes. Jabari Smith
[4:22] Speaker 2: added 18. and Amon Thompson had 16-9 assists. But fourth quarter,
[4:28] Speaker 2: LeBron put his team on his back once again. LeBron
[4:30] Speaker 2: had 28 points, 7 rebounds, and 7 assists. NBA record-extending
[4:35] Speaker 2: 155th career playoff game with at least 25 5-5, more
[4:39] Speaker 2: than double the next closest player, none other than Michael
[4:41] Speaker 2: Jeffrey Jordan. Marcus Smart had 25 points on 8-13 shooting.
[4:45] Speaker 2: He was 5 for 7 from 3, along with 7
[4:47] Speaker 2: assists and 5 steals, while Luke Kennard once again lit
[4:50] Speaker 2: up the Rockets. with 23 points on 8 of 13
[4:53] Speaker 2: shooting and three steals. Rockets tried to make things interesting
[4:55] Speaker 2: in the fourth quarter, cutting the deficit to three midway,
[4:59] Speaker 2: but it was just not their day as LeBron was
[5:02] Speaker 2: doing things that no 41-year-old man should be able to
[5:04] Speaker 2: do with under a minute remaining. Got the dunk to
[5:08] Speaker 2: help seal the win after catching the Rockets' defense slipping. Lakers'
[5:14] Speaker 2: defense dominant again in this one, holding the Rockets to 40% shooting, 24%
[5:17] Speaker 2: from three. Purple and Gold now take a 2-0 lead
[5:22] Speaker 2: in the series heading to Houston for game three. So, Skip,
[5:25] Speaker 2: we're going to start with you. How impressive have these
[5:28] Speaker 2: shorthanded Lakers been in the first two games of this series?
[5:33] Speaker 6: Obviously, extremely.
[5:35] Speaker 1: I love hearing you say that.
[5:36] Speaker 5: Yes, sir.
[5:37] Speaker 6: And I'm going to take it one level higher or
[5:40] Speaker 6: maybe lower. I just think they're a little better basketball
[5:47] Speaker 6: team on both ends of the floor without Luka. The
[5:53] Speaker 6: last time I saw Luka in the lineup was against
[5:56] Speaker 6: a really good team on April 2nd at Oklahoma City,
[5:59] Speaker 6: and it was 44-21 after the first quarter, and it
[6:03] Speaker 6: was 82-51 at halftime. And last night, and obviously in
[6:09] Speaker 6: game one, I saw a team... With LeBron orchestrating, LeBron
[6:17] Speaker 6: has far less ego than Luka does.
[6:20] Speaker 1: Wow.
[6:21] Speaker 6: Luka has to be the whole show and obviously can
[6:25] Speaker 6: be a defensive liability, but Luka is the most inefficient
[6:29] Speaker 6: player in the league. He obviously is an offensive scoring genius,
[6:34] Speaker 6: but he led the league in shots attempted per game.
[6:38] Speaker 6: He led the league in three-point attempts per game. He
[6:41] Speaker 6: led the league in free throw attempts per game. And
[6:44] Speaker 6: he led the league in turnovers. He also led the
[6:47] Speaker 6: league in scoring. But he's the Showtime Laker singular, where
[6:53] Speaker 6: the whole show, the whole world revolves around Luka. And
[6:59] Speaker 6: last night, especially on defense, I saw connection. I saw trust.
[7:06] Speaker 6: I saw positivity and momentum on defense that fed the offense.
[7:13] Speaker 6: I saw... I don't know. Kevin Durant just drives me crazy. But,
[7:18] Speaker 6: you know, they had soft doubles in the first half,
[7:22] Speaker 6: and he makes six of seven. Then they come with
[7:24] Speaker 6: hard doubles in the second half, and he just shrinks
[7:28] Speaker 6: like he's never played the game before. And he has
[7:31] Speaker 6: a poor handle against doubles, always has had. And he
[7:35] Speaker 6: has nine turnovers, but it's because Marcus Smart is up
[7:39] Speaker 6: into him and Rui is up into him, and they
[7:42] Speaker 6: just intimidated him into this passive drifting on his heels
[7:49] Speaker 6: shadow of himself in the second half and he goes
[7:51] Speaker 6: one of five has five more turnovers and it's just
[7:55] Speaker 6: a disaster but it was because the Lakers are playing
[8:00] Speaker 6: real live team basketball and I haven't said that in
[8:04] Speaker 6: a long time it seems like where they're They're fun
[8:08] Speaker 6: to watch. This is much more fun for me, and
[8:10] Speaker 6: I'm a nut. I'm like an addict. I'm a fanatic.
[8:15] Speaker 6: I love the game you guys played at the highest level.
[8:19] Speaker 6: I'm in love with it, and I love to see
[8:21] Speaker 6: it played correctly, and last night it was played correctly
[8:25] Speaker 6: against a Rockets team with no point guard. Reed Shepard
[8:31] Speaker 6: tried last night, and Kevin got mad at him when
[8:34] Speaker 6: he jacked up a three on a semi-break, and then
[8:37] Speaker 6: he was just a shell of himself. Reed Shepard goes
[8:40] Speaker 6: 0 for 4 and 0 for 3 from 3, so
[8:42] Speaker 6: they don't have that. And it just looked like the
[8:45] Speaker 6: Lakers were a lot better. And the shock to me
[8:47] Speaker 6: is I look at the point spread for Game 3
[8:49] Speaker 6: at Houston, and Vegas is still not buying the Lakers.
[8:52] Speaker 6: And I think they're sleeping on this new Lakers team
[8:55] Speaker 6: without Luka because they're saying Rockets are 10-point favorites at
[9:00] Speaker 6: home in Game 3.
[9:00] Speaker 1: Ten?
[9:01] Speaker 6: I'll take some. I'm not a bet man, but if
[9:03] Speaker 6: I were, I'd jump all over. Ten.
[9:05] Speaker 1: Ten.
[9:05] Speaker 5: Yeah, that's a good bet. I think that one too, Skip.
[9:09] Speaker 6: Okay, fire away.
[9:12] Speaker 2: Let's stay on this side of the couch with you, Mr. B, first.
[9:15] Speaker 2: Los Angeles native, part-time Lakers fan.
[9:21] Speaker 7: Well, the person who just changed the whole game was
[9:25] Speaker 7: Marcus Smart for the jump. He came out, got an
[9:27] Speaker 7: and-one layup. Next play, came down, guarded KD, full court,
[9:32] Speaker 7: ripped him. and I think that was just it right there.
[9:35] Speaker 7: I think that just changed the whole game, the momentum.
[9:39] Speaker 3: You know, they didn't go away from their game plan. J.J.
[9:41] Speaker 3: Redick is really out coaching.
[9:44] Speaker 1: Right now.
[9:45] Speaker 7: LeBron, Luke, I'm surprised that no coach in the NBA
[9:50] Speaker 7: has really realized how good he's been, and he's been
[9:53] Speaker 7: in the league for nine seasons, and he's finally now
[9:56] Speaker 7: just getting his chance, and he's doing, he's playing unbelievable
[10:00] Speaker 7: right now. But, I mean, you know, hats off to LeBron,
[10:03] Speaker 7: 41 years old, still doing it, putting the team behind him.
[10:08] Speaker 7: You know, I know it's KD, you know, I know
[10:09] Speaker 7: Kevin Durant's one of the greatest scorers ever, but nine turnovers,
[10:12] Speaker 7: he just looked out of sync when it comes to.
[10:15] Speaker 3: Leadership and just getting the guys together. They didn't have
[10:17] Speaker 3: it at all.
[10:19] Speaker 7: That was one thing that, maybe why he didn't want
[10:21] Speaker 7: to come on the show because me and Rashad, we
[10:23] Speaker 7: questioned his leadership, and it hasn't been shown. So it
[10:28] Speaker 7: was just, you know, that was one of the worst
[10:30] Speaker 7: performances I've seen from KD, you know, just overall, just mentally,
[10:34] Speaker 7: just mentally just frustrated, just really looked like he didn't
[10:37] Speaker 7: know how to play basketball. So, but hats out to
[10:40] Speaker 7: the Lakers for not deviating from the game plan and
[10:45] Speaker 7: everything and still sticking with it, so.
[10:47] Speaker 1: Good.
[10:48] Speaker 2: Interesting to watch in the arena. First half, KD cooking
[10:51] Speaker 2: 20 points, doing his thing. Second half, tried to be
[10:54] Speaker 2: a facilitator. Did not work well, obviously, for the Houston Rockets.
[10:59] Speaker 2: Let's shift over to this side, Kenya. Lakers take a
[11:01] Speaker 2: 2-0 series lead without Luka, without AR. But we got
[11:06] Speaker 2: new Luka, Luka Nard. What's your reaction to the Lakers
[11:11] Speaker 2: going up 2-0 on the Rockets?
[11:14] Speaker 5: Oh, yeah. I like what skip said and about they
[11:20] Speaker 5: are playing better basketball without luca um they taking on
[11:26] Speaker 5: the identity of lebron right since lebron is the ace
[11:30] Speaker 5: again they're taking on that identity right of him and
[11:34] Speaker 5: his voice is resonating again with the group right so
[11:38] Speaker 5: i think that's the difference right now the way they're
[11:41] Speaker 5: defending how they in tune to the game plan um
[11:45] Speaker 5: they're hearing his voice right And when the other guy's there,
[11:50] Speaker 5: there's no accountability for the other end of the floor.
[11:54] Speaker 5: So it resonates throughout the roster, right? When Luka doesn't
[11:58] Speaker 5: get back, then the next guy's not going to get back.
[12:01] Speaker 5: So it's a domino effect in every regard. But LeBron,
[12:03] Speaker 5: I think he has the air right now while Luka's out,
[12:07] Speaker 5: which I think is a good thing. Yeah, they implemented
[12:12] Speaker 5: a game plan last night, the Lakers, that is. And
[12:16] Speaker 5: They had a game plan and they went out and
[12:18] Speaker 5: implemented it. And that was to frustrate KD. They did that.
[12:23] Speaker 5: Made some tough shots early. But, yeah, no, the game
[12:27] Speaker 5: plan was to do exactly what they did. They doubled
[12:29] Speaker 5: Sangoon early, doubled KD early, got them out of rhythm.
[12:32] Speaker 5: Got Sangoon to thinking. He didn't know when and where
[12:35] Speaker 5: the double team was going to come from. Had him
[12:39] Speaker 5: playing on the perimeter, which I think is playing in
[12:42] Speaker 5: the Lakers' favor. Him at the three-point line taking six, seven, eight, nine,
[12:47] Speaker 5: ten dribbles to get to a bad jump hook, right,
[12:51] Speaker 5: is not winning basketball.
[12:53] Speaker 4: It's not a winning recipe.
[12:56] Speaker 5: But, yeah, it's nasty work, man, when you're getting– By
[13:04] Speaker 5: both teams off the bench. You're getting 10 points from
[13:07] Speaker 5: one team off the bench and six points from another
[13:09] Speaker 5: team off the bench. That's nasty basketball at its finest.
[13:14] Speaker 1: Jackson Hayes is the only Laker to score off the
[13:16] Speaker 1: bench with six points.
[13:17] Speaker 5: And then Tyree Eason is the only Rocket to score
[13:19] Speaker 5: off the bench with 10. That's nasty basketball. But it's
[13:25] Speaker 5: the way the Lakers need to play right now. And
[13:27] Speaker 5: they're going out and doing it. This is the way
[13:29] Speaker 5: I thought the Rockets would have. play it against them, right?
[13:32] Speaker 5: Nasty game, muck it up, make it a half-court defensive
[13:35] Speaker 5: nasty game. But that's what the Lakers are doing right now.
[13:39] Speaker 5: And they have two games, man. So they took care
[13:41] Speaker 5: of home. We'll see how the Rockets respond going home.
[13:47] Speaker 5: But yeah, this was a telling sign of the lack
[13:52] Speaker 5: of offense that the Rockets have, right? But if you
[13:56] Speaker 5: take KD out of it and you have Sangoon thinking,
[13:59] Speaker 5: It's sketchy after that at best. So, good luck.
[14:05] Speaker 1: It's all Rockets players arguing with each other. Yeah. St.
[14:08] Speaker 5: Gou, Tyrese arguing, KD yelling at him.
[14:11] Speaker 1: Offensive goal team. Yeah, yeah, yeah. KD getting into Reese Shepard. Yep.
[14:15] Speaker 7: Also, you know, LeBron is 24-0 when he starts off 2-0.
[14:18] Speaker 1: 24-0.
[14:19] Speaker 5: Yeah, that's a good sign for them.
[14:21] Speaker 4: So, I don't know.
[14:22] Speaker 3: I'm just saying they could be going places.
[14:23] Speaker 5: Yeah, and I'm, and I'm, yeah, I'm.
[14:26] Speaker 1: Never lost a series when the team was up two
[14:28] Speaker 1: on the playoffs. Just saying, yeah. Let's shift over to Dr.
[14:32] Speaker 5: I'm eating crow right now, so.
[14:33] Speaker 1: It's fine.
[14:35] Speaker 2: You came in here flamed up yesterday with the raucous red,
[14:37] Speaker 2: a more neutral gray.
[14:38] Speaker 1: Okay, okay, I didn't know.
[14:40] Speaker 5: Cincinnati Bearcat red.
[14:41] Speaker 1: Just making sure.
[14:42] Speaker 5: Don't do that.
[14:42] Speaker 1: Didn't know. Don't do that. Just didn't know.
[14:44] Speaker 5: Don't do that.
[14:47] Speaker 1: Didn't know. Let's move over to Dr. Rashad McKiss, Ph.D. Mm-hmm.
[14:53] Speaker 1: In your expert professional opinion.
[14:55] Speaker 4: I appreciate the intro.
[15:00] Speaker 8: Aside from the fact that LeBron went out of his
[15:02] Speaker 8: way to impress me in the Game 2 win, I
[15:06] Speaker 8: think that ultimately me not being impressed is pushing him
[15:11] Speaker 8: to go and be impressive. I think that this particular
[15:15] Speaker 8: way is how you formed it, is how the team
[15:17] Speaker 8: is playing with his guidance. And it looks different because
[15:21] Speaker 8: he's experienced with knowing where people need to be in
[15:25] Speaker 8: order for them to execute the strategy. I think from
[15:29] Speaker 8: Brandon's point, definitely being outcoached when you talk about taking
[15:33] Speaker 8: the ball out of Sangoon's hand, Katie's hand right away,
[15:37] Speaker 8: early in the shot clock, making you guys play on
[15:40] Speaker 8: the backside.
[15:41] Speaker 4: What are you other guys going to do.
[15:43] Speaker 8: When you don't have a solution for that and you
[15:45] Speaker 8: haven't prepped for that? It's going to leave your team
[15:48] Speaker 8: in dismay. You're going to have scrambles where guys not
[15:52] Speaker 8: going to know where to go, where to play. You
[15:53] Speaker 8: just play an accidental basketball at that point. Not as
[15:57] Speaker 8: if they weren't playing it before, but you knew you
[15:59] Speaker 8: could go to KD to get a bucket.
[16:01] Speaker 4: And he did that in the first half.
[16:03] Speaker 8: He forced his way into getting the buckets because as
[16:06] Speaker 8: we were watching, there were openings in the seams where
[16:09] Speaker 8: if he did play aggressive, he could get to those
[16:12] Speaker 8: openings and get his shot off.
[16:13] Speaker 1: And he did.
[16:15] Speaker 8: And that was the soft double that they was implementing.
[16:17] Speaker 8: And so you go into the second half and you say,
[16:19] Speaker 8: all right, let's amp it up a little bit. Let's
[16:21] Speaker 8: push the pressure up on KD. And to Brandon's point again,
[16:26] Speaker 8: KD played the worst basketball we've seen because initially he
[16:30] Speaker 8: just gave up on what the strategy could be outside
[16:34] Speaker 8: of which team's guy is going to show up for
[16:38] Speaker 8: the team. LeBron showed up for the Lakers the whole game.
[16:44] Speaker 8: He was the magnet. Come double me. Come get the
[16:48] Speaker 8: ball out of my hands. I'm the initiator. If you
[16:50] Speaker 8: guys can isolate and diminish what I'm doing, you got
[16:54] Speaker 8: a chance to win. Marcus Smart stepped up. Luke Canard
[16:58] Speaker 8: stepped up. Rui stepped up. DeAndre Ayton stepped up at
[17:01] Speaker 8: certain points too. But you look at KD, it's like
[17:04] Speaker 8: at some point you have to show up for your
[17:06] Speaker 8: team that you're the guy that's going to get rid
[17:09] Speaker 8: of this little bullshit-ass double they're doing. I got to
[17:12] Speaker 8: figure something out. And I don't think he did that.
[17:14] Speaker 8: I think he stood there and he waited. for his
[17:16] Speaker 8: teammates to bail him out, which would give him an
[17:19] Speaker 8: excuse of why he's standing there passing the ball from
[17:23] Speaker 8: the top.
[17:23] Speaker 5: Yeah, to your point, I'm glad you said that, right?
[17:26] Speaker 5: You know the double team coming and you steady inviting it, right?
[17:29] Speaker 5: You waiting on it. You know it's coming and you
[17:32] Speaker 5: waiting on it.
[17:32] Speaker 6: No.
[17:34] Speaker 5: If they double team, who you go attack? The lesser
[17:38] Speaker 5: of the two. You know of one of the two
[17:41] Speaker 5: is a lesser defender, right? They wouldn't be running at
[17:44] Speaker 5: you if it wasn't, right? Attack the lesser defender, right?
[17:48] Speaker 5: Get to your strong hand. Get to your right. You
[17:50] Speaker 5: know you're trying to get right, right?
[17:52] Speaker 1: Get right.
[17:54] Speaker 5: You backing up, backing up, backing up, backing up. They
[17:57] Speaker 5: prove to you they're not going to stop coming. You
[17:59] Speaker 5: backing up, they keep coming forward, right? That's how you
[18:02] Speaker 5: had nine turnovers.
[18:03] Speaker 8: He's trying to look like he's trying to trust into
[18:05] Speaker 8: the team in the coach's strategy, right?
[18:08] Speaker 5: That ain't what got you to fourth seed.
[18:10] Speaker 1: And it's not.
[18:11] Speaker 8: And you look at the dynamic between him and E-Made.
[18:15] Speaker 8: don't look like they own the same accord based on
[18:18] Speaker 8: KD literally saying, I'm doing what you're telling me to do.
[18:23] Speaker 8: I'm inviting the double team. You got to tell them
[18:26] Speaker 8: to make plays.
[18:27] Speaker 5: Well, Tyreason taking 14 shots first game. Reed Shepard taking
[18:32] Speaker 5: 20 shots. Tyreason took the play to 14 this game.
[18:35] Speaker 4: It's still fool's gold to me with the Lakers, though.
[18:38] Speaker 8: I mean, I still feel like this situation, the way
[18:41] Speaker 8: they play this team, makes them look good.
[18:44] Speaker 4: With or without Luka, they'd look great against Houston because
[18:47] Speaker 4: Houston still ain't figured out how to fucking play against
[18:50] Speaker 4: this bullshit zone with this bullshit-ass double team.
[18:54] Speaker 8: It shouldn't be effective. It should not be against a
[18:58] Speaker 8: good NBA team. But I guess the Houston Rockets aren't
[19:01] Speaker 8: as good as, like I said, they're going to lose
[19:03] Speaker 8: that game with or without KD.
[19:05] Speaker 4: Because they just ain't got it. They just ain't got it.
[19:08] Speaker 4: And it looks like that. And don't look like E-Mate's
[19:11] Speaker 4: coaching the team.
[19:12] Speaker 8: Just look, they out there playing pickup with a bunch
[19:14] Speaker 8: of dudes that don't like each other.
[19:15] Speaker 2: So we're going to talk more Rockets in a second,
[19:18] Speaker 2: but to your point, let's talk a little bit about
[19:19] Speaker 2: what's become the Lakers' makeshift big three with Luka and
[19:23] Speaker 2: Reeves sidelines. So in the first two games of the series,
[19:26] Speaker 2: Bron averaging 24 points, 10 assists, 8 rebounds, shooting 49%
[19:29] Speaker 2: from the field, 43% from three. Luke Kennard averaging 25
[19:33] Speaker 2: points on 65-73-80 splits. 65% from the field, 73% from three, Kenyon.
[19:41] Speaker 5: So this is what the point, I'll let you finish.
[19:44] Speaker 5: The point I made yesterday, right? He's the only shooter
[19:47] Speaker 5: they got out there. How is he shooting? 73%, man,
[19:50] Speaker 5: when y'all not paying attention to the game.
[19:53] Speaker 1: Plan, man? Sense of urgency.
[19:54] Speaker 5: Like, dude, I'm cool with you running him off the
[19:58] Speaker 5: line and him getting them layups that he was getting.
[20:01] Speaker 5: I'm okay with that. Him shooting 65 from two, I
[20:06] Speaker 5: can live with that.
[20:07] Speaker 1: Yeah.
[20:08] Speaker 5: Him shooting twos ain't going to beat us. It's not.
[20:13] Speaker 5: Him shooting 73 from three, that's going to beat us.
[20:18] Speaker 2: That was the Lakers' issue all season, three-point shooting. Incredibly nasty.
[20:23] Speaker 2: Obviously traded Gabe Benson for Luke Kennard. Some among us
[20:26] Speaker 2: were not fans of that trade initially, but have since
[20:29] Speaker 2: started to refer to Luke as the YN with the ZN.
[20:32] Speaker 2: Marcus Smart. putting up 20 points, eight assists, three steals
[20:36] Speaker 2: in the series. So I asked the couch, how sustainable
[20:38] Speaker 2: is this level of play from the Lakers' makeshift big
[20:41] Speaker 2: three for the rest of this series? After game one,
[20:44] Speaker 2: I was like, ah. For the rest of the series?
[20:47] Speaker 1: Yes.
[20:47] Speaker 4: There's momentum right now.
[20:48] Speaker 5: Yeah, I think it's sustainable.
[20:49] Speaker 4: They can sweep them.
[20:51] Speaker 1: Yeah, they can sweep them for sure. Yeah, I think
[20:52] Speaker 1: it's sustainable. Look at Sweetman. Just don't go away from
[20:57] Speaker 1: what you've been doing. Yeah, that's all. I'm going to
[20:58] Speaker 1: keep doing.
[20:59] Speaker 5: The same thing.
[20:59] Speaker 1: As long as Peyton want to keep bringing that shit
[21:01] Speaker 1: up to court. But what are they doing? What do
[21:03] Speaker 1: we see?
[21:04] Speaker 5: I'm taking the same game plan in Houston.
[21:06] Speaker 4: What's the difference though? They actually playing harder than Houston.
[21:09] Speaker 1: Yes, they playing harder.
[21:11] Speaker 5: 50-50 balls.
[21:11] Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm going to get it.
[21:13] Speaker 5: All the little things that, like I said, all the
[21:15] Speaker 5: things where I expected Houston to play them is what
[21:19] Speaker 5: they're doing. They making it a dogfight, sense of urgency.
[21:23] Speaker 5: They know they're shorthanded, so they're playing at a higher
[21:27] Speaker 5: level than each guy is doing a little more in
[21:30] Speaker 5: order for them to be up two games right now.
[21:32] Speaker 5: That's what you need when you're missing 33 at.
[21:34] Speaker 1: Night and 24 at night. Next guy up.
[21:36] Speaker 5: Next guy up. But them dudes, they do something different
[21:38] Speaker 5: than them other two.
[21:39] Speaker 1: Yep. Right?
[21:40] Speaker 3: I just worry about they bench on the road.
[21:42] Speaker 5: Yeah. Same game plan.
[21:46] Speaker 1: It could be Jake.
[21:48] Speaker 4: Jake from State Farm, he ain't showed up yet.
[21:50] Speaker 1: He ain't really played his game yet.
[21:52] Speaker 8: And, you know, DeAndre Ayton might– Go crazy.
[21:57] Speaker 4: Just the fact that Sangoon don't.
[21:59] Speaker 1: Know what he on right now. Game one, game two.
[22:01] Speaker 5: Defensively, the message should, listen, we're up two games, right?
[22:07] Speaker 5: We know what we have to defend. We got to
[22:08] Speaker 5: take that intensity up a notch, right? We got to
[22:12] Speaker 5: make it harder on KD. We got to make it
[22:15] Speaker 5: harder on Sangoon. They home, they think they're comfortable, they
[22:18] Speaker 5: get to sleep in their own bed, all these things.
[22:21] Speaker 1: No.
[22:22] Speaker 4: No.
[22:23] Speaker 5: We need to turn it.
[22:24] Speaker 4: Up a notch. And send a message. Send a message.
[22:27] Speaker 6: So, Rashad, do you still think the bullshit Lakers can
[22:31] Speaker 6: win this series?
[22:32] Speaker 4: This series, yes.
[22:33] Speaker 6: Okay.
[22:34] Speaker 8: Without Luka and Austin Reeves, I think, and again, to
[22:40] Speaker 8: Brandon's point, KD has shown something that he hasn't shown
[22:45] Speaker 8: in a long time is him not being able to
[22:48] Speaker 8: handle this moment.
[22:50] Speaker 4: Without a number two, without a number three, KD.
[22:54] Speaker 1: We're all looking at you.
[22:55] Speaker 6: Although, if you remember him in Brooklyn against the Celtics,
[22:58] Speaker 6: he was a disaster. They got swept by the Celtics
[23:02] Speaker 6: his last year in Brooklyn. Then he goes to Phoenix,
[23:04] Speaker 6: and remember, they crapped out a couple times there where
[23:07] Speaker 6: I was saying, Kevin, what are you doing, man?
[23:09] Speaker 5: I don't know.
[23:11] Speaker 6: He also was back-to-back finals MVPs, but... He's surrounded by
[23:16] Speaker 6: Steph and Clay and Draymond, and he did not have to,
[23:19] Speaker 6: to your point, lead the basketball team in Golden State, right?
[23:24] Speaker 6: And I'm with you guys. I have questioned Kevin's leadership.
[23:28] Speaker 6: He always just says, I just want to hoop. He
[23:30] Speaker 6: doesn't want to lead. And now they're up against a
[23:33] Speaker 6: team that doesn't have much of a backbone because, remember,
[23:37] Speaker 6: I think it was a big deal in February, even
[23:41] Speaker 6: though it was never proven, about this latest burner account
[23:44] Speaker 6: that Kevin had. And I don't know, it's reported, speculated,
[23:49] Speaker 6: but it sure sounded like Kevin, and he's blasting the
[23:52] Speaker 6: hell out of Jabari Smith, calling him a word I'm
[23:56] Speaker 6: not going to say out loud.
[23:57] Speaker 1: Skip, you can say it here. I know, but.
[24:00] Speaker 6: That's a bad, this is just like not suitable for anywhere.
[24:04] Speaker 1: We're on the dark side of YouTube.
[24:07] Speaker 6: I understand, but it's like a word, it's a line.
[24:10] Speaker 1: Yeah, don't cross that line. Okay.
[24:12] Speaker 6: But then he's blasting Shingun saying he can't shoot and
[24:16] Speaker 6: he can't defend. And it sounded like Kevin, and I
[24:19] Speaker 6: think they thought it was Kevin, and Kevin tried to
[24:21] Speaker 6: dismiss it as just a bunch of Twitter nonsense. That's
[24:25] Speaker 6: what he called it, Twitter nonsense. No, I don't know, man,
[24:29] Speaker 6: because that team last night looked like it had no
[24:32] Speaker 6: backbone to me, like it's got no real fight in it.
[24:36] Speaker 6: And I like E-May a lot.
[24:37] Speaker 1: I really do.
[24:38] Speaker 6: And he's the toughest guy on that team, but he
[24:40] Speaker 6: can't play. He's got you in him. He's a fighter.
[24:46] Speaker 6: That one night, a couple years back, he wanted to
[24:49] Speaker 6: fight LeBron during the game. He said, you want to
[24:51] Speaker 6: come over here and discuss it with me?
[24:53] Speaker 1: Just playing up for the cameras. Okay. Maybe. I don't know.
[25:00] Speaker 1: So what does this say?
[25:01] Speaker 7: If Houston can't get out of this first round, this
[25:04] Speaker 7: is another playoff series that Kevin Durant hasn't been able
[25:08] Speaker 7: to get past the second round since Golden State.
[25:10] Speaker 6: That is true.
[25:12] Speaker 7: You know, I know we talk about a lot of
[25:14] Speaker 7: other players. You know, we talk about Russ. We talk
[25:16] Speaker 7: about James. We talk about all these other guys. But,
[25:19] Speaker 7: you know, since the Golden State Warriors, you know, what
[25:24] Speaker 7: is this?
[25:27] Speaker 8: So should I add the image of KD in the
[25:29] Speaker 8: backpack with Draymond.
[25:32] Speaker 4: On Steph Curry's back?
[25:33] Speaker 6: No.
[25:35] Speaker 1: No. No.
[25:36] Speaker 3: No, because he was MVP before that. He was already him.
[25:39] Speaker 4: He didn't even win a championship before that. No.
[25:41] Speaker 3: Yeah, but he was him before that, though.
[25:43] Speaker 5: See, this is my thing. It's not because of lack
[25:45] Speaker 5: of effort, right? You go out and you compete, but
[25:51] Speaker 5: to Brandon's point, right, so what's next, right? So where
[25:54] Speaker 5: do we go from here, right? Me and Rashad were
[25:57] Speaker 5: saying that now you have to look in that mirror,
[26:03] Speaker 5: like was it a mistake of trading Jalen Green and
[26:06] Speaker 5: Dylan Brooks, right? We've never got a chance to build this.
[26:11] Speaker 1: Right. Right?
[26:13] Speaker 4: Jump ship right away.
[26:14] Speaker 5: You jumped out.
[26:16] Speaker 6: That's true.
[26:17] Speaker 5: You saw a crack in the business. We can seal that.
[26:21] Speaker 1: With this. Yeah, with this.
[26:23] Speaker 5: We can seal that.
[26:24] Speaker 1: Oh, yeah. We can definitely get this.
[26:26] Speaker 5: Life, fucking everything overboard.
[26:28] Speaker 1: Life, hey, revenge.
[26:29] Speaker 5: Like, no, that ain't the move right now, we don't think.
[26:32] Speaker 5: But now you're here. So what now?
[26:35] Speaker 1: Mm-hmm.
[26:38] Speaker 2: So let's talk a little bit more about KD. Obviously
[26:40] Speaker 2: left much to be desired in his Rockets playoff debut.
[26:43] Speaker 2: Like we mentioned, took just 12 shots in the game.
[26:45] Speaker 2: He's seven for 12 from the field. Just one for
[26:48] Speaker 2: five in the second half. Lakers defense forced him to
[26:51] Speaker 2: make nine terminators tied for the most in his playoff career.
[26:55] Speaker 2: So after the game, Durant had this to say about
[26:57] Speaker 2: his performance.
[26:59] Speaker 1: Felt good.
[27:01] Speaker 9: Glad to be back out there playing high pressure moments. But, yeah,
[27:07] Speaker 9: bad game for me tonight. I mean, they start doubling
[27:11] Speaker 9: me from session one, man. I think I got to
[27:14] Speaker 9: be better at not putting my teammates in bad positions
[27:17] Speaker 9: when I swing that ball. Sometimes I could beat the double,
[27:20] Speaker 9: get downhill, make the shot a little easier for them.
[27:23] Speaker 1: Shoot the ball.
[27:23] Speaker 9: I mean, when two to three people on me, I
[27:26] Speaker 9: shoot the ball, we can get off as a rebound.
[27:29] Speaker 1: So, I'm trying to make passes.
[27:30] Speaker 9: I'm trying to make the correct, you know, swing the
[27:33] Speaker 9: ball sometimes, but I feel like I got to shoot
[27:35] Speaker 9: more of those and put my teammates in a better position.
[27:41] Speaker 2: So, Skip, like you mentioned, Durant struggled in his post-Warriors career,
[27:46] Speaker 2: has now lost seven straight playoff games, and two to
[27:49] Speaker 2: the Nuggets in 2023, got swept by the Wolves, and
[27:54] Speaker 2: now his first game back with Houston. So what has
[27:57] Speaker 2: KD shown you as of late, and what did he
[28:01] Speaker 2: show you in his playoff debut with the Rockets?
[28:05] Speaker 6: You know, it's just, I've been closely watching Kevin. I've
[28:11] Speaker 6: gone back and forth with him on social media many times.
[28:14] Speaker 6: But since he entered the league, I was a big
[28:17] Speaker 6: fan of his when he was at Texas. Defended him.
[28:22] Speaker 6: Everybody said he was too skinny. Couldn't bench press one time.
[28:26] Speaker 6: You know, like he just, he didn't have enough strength.
[28:30] Speaker 1: No, no.
[28:32] Speaker 6: He's seven feet tall, and he shoots it up here,
[28:35] Speaker 6: and he's going to be unstoppable. And at times, many times,
[28:38] Speaker 6: he has been. But he is the weirdest superstar in
[28:45] Speaker 6: any sport I have ever closely observed because he's just
[28:49] Speaker 6: a weird dude, man. Just really a weird dude where
[28:53] Speaker 6: you can't explain anything. The mood swings. This was classic.
[28:59] Speaker 6: This is as classic KD as you'll ever see. He
[29:03] Speaker 6: can be Kevin Duquant. You know, like all of a
[29:06] Speaker 6: sudden when you least expect it, it's like, what? You
[29:10] Speaker 6: go six of seven in the first half and score
[29:12] Speaker 6: 20 and look completely unstoppable. And he said after the
[29:17] Speaker 6: game in that interview that we saw, I can shoot
[29:20] Speaker 6: over those. You can shoot over anybody at any time.
[29:24] Speaker 6: He has to go. In the first half, he was
[29:26] Speaker 6: going quick against the soft double, and he'd get one
[29:29] Speaker 6: big dribble step because he's so long. He gets one
[29:32] Speaker 6: big dribble and goes up. It's either going to be
[29:35] Speaker 6: make or miss because nobody's going to bother it. I
[29:37] Speaker 6: can tell you that. You you can't defend it unless
[29:41] Speaker 6: you jump it so hard that to you guys talk
[29:44] Speaker 6: about he starts backing up like i don't know how
[29:47] Speaker 6: to do this man i don't know i'm going to
[29:49] Speaker 6: lose the handle on the basketball and in the second
[29:53] Speaker 6: half he not once tried to shoot over anybody where
[29:58] Speaker 6: he took a hard dribble and said, I'm just going
[30:00] Speaker 6: up to shoot it. And as you and I both said,
[30:04] Speaker 6: how can you go from 20 in the first half
[30:08] Speaker 6: to looking like you've never played the game before?
[30:11] Speaker 5: Like you ain't never been double teamed.
[30:13] Speaker 1: Seriously.
[30:13] Speaker 5: Like you ain't never been double teamed before.
[30:16] Speaker 6: And he tried to say in that interview, he said,
[30:19] Speaker 6: I was double from possession one tonight. Okay, it was
[30:22] Speaker 6: soft versus hard. But still, yeah, there was somebody coming
[30:28] Speaker 6: every time, and he just said, I'm going to do this.
[30:32] Speaker 6: And what happens in the second half, I don't know.
[30:34] Speaker 6: He's just a weird dude. This dates back to Oklahoma
[30:40] Speaker 6: City when Westbrook got his knee hurt by Pat Beverly
[30:44] Speaker 6: and was lost. Go look at what happened to Kevin
[30:47] Speaker 6: after that. Go look at the Memphis series. Go look
[30:49] Speaker 6: at the numbers of that series. It's the same stuff
[30:51] Speaker 6: that we're talking about where you're saying, what is that?
[30:54] Speaker 6: And then when I least expected it, he joins forces
[30:58] Speaker 6: with the team that they had down 3-1 in the
[31:02] Speaker 6: conference finals, and he goes back-to-back game threes in LeBron's house,
[31:09] Speaker 6: in LeBron's face, and wins MVP and looked like all world.
[31:13] Speaker 6: And he did that, and I give that up because
[31:15] Speaker 6: I didn't see that coming. But he had the weight
[31:17] Speaker 6: of the NBA world on his slender little shoulders, and
[31:20] Speaker 6: he just lived up and lived up. And he's a
[31:23] Speaker 6: made man, and now I feel like he doesn't really,
[31:26] Speaker 6: and he's killed me for this, but that's fine. But
[31:30] Speaker 6: he feels semi-retired to me where he doesn't care that much.
[31:34] Speaker 6: He still loves to hoop, and he loves to be
[31:36] Speaker 6: out there in the spotlight.
[31:39] Speaker 1: It's fun.
[31:39] Speaker 6: He had fun last night. He said, I felt good.
[31:42] Speaker 6: And he did. He looked great in the first half,
[31:44] Speaker 6: and then like, that's enough. I don't really care that much.
[31:48] Speaker 6: And I don't know if he loves these guys, so
[31:50] Speaker 6: I don't care if he– I don't know if he
[31:52] Speaker 6: cares that much about winning and advancing in the playoffs.
[31:57] Speaker 6: And I think he looks at Oklahoma City sitting there
[32:00] Speaker 6: and he's like, I.
[32:01] Speaker 1: Don't want any of that.
[32:02] Speaker 6: I don't really care about– you know, I did enough.
[32:04] Speaker 6: I scored 20 in the first half.
[32:07] Speaker 5: I showed you.
[32:07] Speaker 1: You don't want to go back to OKC?
[32:10] Speaker 6: No, I don't think he wants to go there and
[32:12] Speaker 6: get humiliated.
[32:15] Speaker 1: Yeah.
[32:15] Speaker 6: Yeah.
[32:19] Speaker 7: I think he feels loved for what he's done and
[32:21] Speaker 7: what he's brought to the game, too, because of the
[32:23] Speaker 7: decision he made to go to the Warriors. You know,
[32:27] Speaker 7: you can feel not really appreciated that much when it's
[32:30] Speaker 7: all said and done.
[32:32] Speaker 3: I just saw.
[32:33] Speaker 7: Somebody say something about him being top ten all the
[32:34] Speaker 7: time and maybe not being.
[32:38] Speaker 3: So it's just all type of things, you know, I
[32:40] Speaker 3: feel like.
[32:40] Speaker 7: And then, you know, closing the end of your career,
[32:42] Speaker 7: you're on a team that was projected to be top three.
[32:47] Speaker 7: From last year and then you come back and they
[32:49] Speaker 7: make a trade for you, you know I'm sure you
[32:50] Speaker 7: probably thought he was gonna be at Phoenix and.
[32:52] Speaker 6: Work and he said it hurt him, you know Like
[32:54] Speaker 6: that was the first time we felt where he got
[32:57] Speaker 6: pushed out the back.
[32:58] Speaker 7: Door Brooklyn Brooklyn was promising You know the thing happened
[33:01] Speaker 7: with Kyrie if that doesn't you know, they're probably holding
[33:03] Speaker 7: up a banner So it's all these steps that's just
[33:06] Speaker 7: been disappointing since since Golden State.
[33:10] Speaker 8: Semantics aside Can't put everything on KD at this particular moment.
[33:17] Speaker 8: I think joint blame is Ime for sure. You have
[33:24] Speaker 8: to show up with your superstar.
[33:26] Speaker 4: And you have to have a game plan and an
[33:28] Speaker 4: alternative to the things that they're doing. And they're not
[33:32] Speaker 4: doing anything new that they've done in.
[33:33] Speaker 8: The regular season, which is really frustrating for me for
[33:36] Speaker 8: them not to have a counter for it by now.
[33:38] Speaker 8: And so you can say KD... You played bad. You
[33:41] Speaker 8: did this. You did that. But ultimately, KD can't go
[33:45] Speaker 8: to the clipboard and be like, yo, let's do this.
[33:48] Speaker 8: But you see them doing this, and it's like we
[33:50] Speaker 8: were saying last night, why is KD bringing the ball
[33:53] Speaker 8: up the court when he knows they're going to get
[33:55] Speaker 8: double as soon as.
[33:56] Speaker 1: He cross halves?
[33:58] Speaker 8: And I'm like, where is the play cost when you're
[34:00] Speaker 8: talking about draw up a play where KD gets the
[34:03] Speaker 8: ball on the side, pick and roll with Sangoon. We
[34:06] Speaker 8: know they're coming across. They're loading up. The Lakers are
[34:09] Speaker 8: literally loading up, and this.
[34:10] Speaker 4: Is what we used to do back in the day
[34:12] Speaker 4: with every superstar.
[34:13] Speaker 1: We see him, hey, load up, make sure he sees.
[34:16] Speaker 8: Two, three bodies in front of him that he got
[34:18] Speaker 8: to make an extra pass, whether it's across the court
[34:20] Speaker 8: or to the.
[34:21] Speaker 4: Top of the key. And at that point, we match up.
[34:25] Speaker 4: The Lakers not doing anything different.
[34:26] Speaker 8: JJ's smart enough to know it's a chess match between
[34:29] Speaker 8: him and E-May, and E-May's losing dismally because he's trying
[34:32] Speaker 8: to appease Kevin instead of coaching the team. You got
[34:36] Speaker 8: other players that can play We talked about Amen. We
[34:39] Speaker 8: talked about Jabari. We talked about Reed Shepard. He only
[34:43] Speaker 8: took four shots. This is the only other shot maker
[34:45] Speaker 8: that you have on the floor that can actually ease
[34:48] Speaker 8: off the tension that Kevin is receiving from these doubles.
[34:54] Speaker 8: And then you got Sangoon, who's supposed to be your
[34:56] Speaker 8: brightest spot when you talk about your number two. He
[35:01] Speaker 8: looked trash last night. I ain't never seen a player
[35:06] Speaker 8: look as bad as he looked last Last night in
[35:09] Speaker 8: situations where you're supposed to take advantage of the mismatches
[35:13] Speaker 8: out of the fucking double team.
[35:14] Speaker 1: He passed you the ball.
[35:15] Speaker 8: You pump faking and doing all this with Marcus Smart
[35:18] Speaker 8: in front of you and certain guys that are just like, bro,
[35:21] Speaker 8: go up.
[35:23] Speaker 1: Right.
[35:23] Speaker 8: And so Kevin has to be frustrated with seeing that
[35:27] Speaker 8: his window is closing from getting the ball and getting
[35:31] Speaker 8: it back. How do I get the ball back? Give
[35:34] Speaker 8: it up and get it back and be in scoring position.
[35:37] Speaker 8: And that's hard to do when your team don't know
[35:38] Speaker 8: what to do on the backside. And we're not scoring.
[35:42] Speaker 8: So you got to commend the Lakers on taking advantage
[35:45] Speaker 8: of the chess match that's going on between E-May and J.J.
[35:50] Speaker 8: And then you would say that LeBron and KD matchup
[35:53] Speaker 8: should be favorable based on the history.
[35:56] Speaker 4: And LeBron's like, I got a better team than you.
[35:59] Speaker 4: I got a better team. And my whole team ain't
[36:01] Speaker 4: even here.
[36:02] Speaker 8: I'm showing you what it looked like if me and
[36:04] Speaker 8: you didn't have Steph and Kyrie and we just had.
[36:07] Speaker 1: A bunch of motherfucking motherfucking role players out here.
[36:10] Speaker 4: This is what it looks like with me out here
[36:12] Speaker 4: commanding this. And this is what it looked like with
[36:15] Speaker 4: you over here commanding this.
[36:17] Speaker 8: We got you because you ain't going to do what
[36:18] Speaker 8: I'm going to do. I'm going to put my head down.
[36:20] Speaker 8: I'm going to back these motherfuckers down and I'm going
[36:22] Speaker 8: to make them foul me or I'm going to pass.
[36:25] Speaker 8: LeBron did shit that we see Magic Johnson do in
[36:28] Speaker 8: situations where you're either going to come get me or
[36:31] Speaker 8: I'm going to pass it.
[36:32] Speaker 4: One or the other, I'm going.
[36:33] Speaker 1: To score, I'm going to do something.
[36:35] Speaker 4: And that just shows the genius of LeBron.
[36:36] Speaker 8: You know, he's always been the type of guy that
[36:38] Speaker 8: can do things like that.
[36:40] Speaker 1: But when you talk about putting.
[36:41] Speaker 8: KD top 10, you talk about giving him the credit
[36:44] Speaker 8: he deserves for being a scorer. Man, this is complete
[36:47] Speaker 8: player shit now. You gotta be complete player shit now.
[36:50] Speaker 8: This is show up and dissect the game and not
[36:53] Speaker 8: just I'm a bucket, I'm a hoop.
[36:55] Speaker 5: Well, it's time for he need to hit the fucking button.
[36:59] Speaker 4: Fucking button for sure.
[37:00] Speaker 1: Do we have that? It's all we got.
[37:06] Speaker 5: He said it himself. You gotta hit the fucking button.
[37:09] Speaker 1: Right?
[37:10] Speaker 5: You got guys, you limited out there, you gotta do more, right?
[37:15] Speaker 5: Shooting over two, shooting over three, attacking at times, forcing
[37:18] Speaker 5: the issue. You can't have five shots in.
[37:22] Speaker 1: A half, bro.
[37:24] Speaker 5: No. You can't. Not on that team. You was efficient
[37:29] Speaker 5: in the first half, right? You got to hit the
[37:34] Speaker 5: fucking button, bro. Go through somebody, run somebody over instead
[37:38] Speaker 5: of backing up.
[37:40] Speaker 1: Is he scared to hit the fucking button, though? You
[37:42] Speaker 1: need to look like Steph Curry in that Clipper game. Yeah,
[37:45] Speaker 1: one leg. Fuck it. Hey, man.
[37:47] Speaker 5: We're going to win or lose.
[37:48] Speaker 1: Has he ever hit the fucking button?
[37:49] Speaker 5: We're going to win or lose.
[37:51] Speaker 4: Has he ever hit the fucking button? I don't think
[37:52] Speaker 4: he's ever hit it. We're going to win or lose
[37:54] Speaker 4: with this right here.
[37:55] Speaker 1: Okay, see? We're about to see.
[37:59] Speaker 6: So we're shot. Back to the bullshit Lakers. So if
[38:04] Speaker 6: they do pull this off, if they do advance, they're
[38:08] Speaker 6: going to have to open game one at the defending
[38:11] Speaker 6: champs at Oklahoma City. And now what happens? What do
[38:15] Speaker 6: you think? Do the bullshit Lakers get exposed the way
[38:19] Speaker 6: they got exposed with Luka in the starting lineup on
[38:22] Speaker 6: April 2nd at Oklahoma City when he did in the
[38:24] Speaker 6: third quarter pull his hamstring? Do they get exposed like that?
[38:29] Speaker 8: I would say do they change their game plan? This
[38:33] Speaker 8: is the thing with basketball and NBA is you would
[38:36] Speaker 8: think that if it worked here, it's going to work
[38:39] Speaker 8: with the next team. And I would say Shea isn't
[38:42] Speaker 8: Kevin Durant. But he is a singular force on that
[38:46] Speaker 8: team that if you did isolate and make the other
[38:48] Speaker 8: players play, let's see what happens. You still got Chad,
[38:52] Speaker 8: you still got J-Dub, and you still got those shooters around.
[38:55] Speaker 8: But I would like to see J.J. change the game
[38:58] Speaker 8: plan because that wasn't their game plan against OKC. And
[39:01] Speaker 8: if they do show up and give SGA a challenge...
[39:05] Speaker 8: which is going to be probably Marcus Smart.
[39:07] Speaker 6: Will, for sure.
[39:09] Speaker 8: And if Marcus can stay out of foul trouble and
[39:11] Speaker 8: actually give him some work and they actually have a
[39:14] Speaker 8: cohesive unit the way that they have, they got a
[39:17] Speaker 8: chance against them.
[39:19] Speaker 4: Now, is Austin and Luka going to be playing?
[39:23] Speaker 8: That's the question because we talk about how they look
[39:26] Speaker 8: now as a unit. That's without guys who don't have
[39:30] Speaker 8: accountability for those rotations, for those defensive, like those things
[39:34] Speaker 8: are mishaps or it's benefits for us. So when you
[39:38] Speaker 8: were moving around and rotating and scrambling and getting up
[39:41] Speaker 8: to the, that is all the hustle role player shit.
[39:46] Speaker 8: But when you got your two star guys afraid to
[39:49] Speaker 8: go out there and, Show that they can't play defense
[39:52] Speaker 8: as much, but you still hustle.
[39:54] Speaker 4: That's what OKC breaks you down.
[39:56] Speaker 8: That's what OKC challenges you to make substitutions.
[39:59] Speaker 4: And stuff like that.
[40:01] Speaker 8: So I would say that the Lakers with the full
[40:04] Speaker 8: roster can win a couple. but they can't have the
[40:08] Speaker 8: same game plan that they had when they got their
[40:10] Speaker 8: ass blown out the last two times.
[40:12] Speaker 4: They got to change it up.
[40:13] Speaker 6: From what JJ said before the game last night, it
[40:15] Speaker 6: sounds like Austin Reeves is more of a candidate to
[40:19] Speaker 6: play sooner than later. So he might be able to
[40:22] Speaker 6: play a little in this Rocket series, but definitely if
[40:25] Speaker 6: they get to Oklahoma City. And he will fit in
[40:28] Speaker 6: what they're doing a lot better than Laker can be
[40:31] Speaker 6: refit into this new Lakers bullshit they might be. But it's...
[40:37] Speaker 6: It has a lot better chance. Do I think they
[40:40] Speaker 6: can beat Oklahoma City? I do not. Do I think
[40:42] Speaker 6: they could win a game, maybe a game? But the
[40:45] Speaker 6: point is they got annihilated on April the 2nd, and
[40:50] Speaker 6: that was a big measuring stick game where they're rolling
[40:54] Speaker 6: and Oklahoma City's just kind of being Oklahoma City. Okay,
[40:57] Speaker 6: what you got? Let's see. And it's 82-51 at halftime,
[41:01] Speaker 6: and then Luka pulls his hamstring. And it became actually
[41:05] Speaker 6: a weird good thing for the Lakers because now you're
[41:08] Speaker 6: getting this version. And this version has a lot better
[41:12] Speaker 6: chance against Oklahoma City's team basketball than the Luka version.
[41:16] Speaker 1: Wow.
[41:17] Speaker 2: So Luka likely to miss this entire series, like you said,
[41:19] Speaker 2: reads further along in his rehab process, could potentially come
[41:22] Speaker 2: back later in the series. NBA obviously blessed the Lakers
[41:25] Speaker 2: with a favorable playoff schedule.
[41:26] Speaker 1: You've got three days off.
[41:28] Speaker 5: If he does come back, do you start him?
[41:31] Speaker 1: Luka? No. Who, Austin?
[41:35] Speaker 3: If Austin comes back, do you start.
[41:38] Speaker 1: Him? Nah.
[41:39] Speaker 5: With the way the guys are playing, right?
[41:41] Speaker 1: Luke Kinnar playing right now.
[41:43] Speaker 5: With the way the guys are playing, that five at
[41:46] Speaker 5: the start, do you disrupt it? Do you bring him
[41:50] Speaker 5: off the bench because you only got ten points off
[41:51] Speaker 5: your bench?
[41:51] Speaker 1: We've brought him off the bench. Six points off your bench.
[41:54] Speaker 2: This sounds like a conversation somebody brought up a few
[41:58] Speaker 2: months ago to have people in their feelings.
[41:59] Speaker 1: Say it again. I said it depends on how game
[42:01] Speaker 1: three go. Reeves is a six man? I don't know.
[42:04] Speaker 3: Because he'll come back this series, right?
[42:06] Speaker 6: What are you saying, Josiah? Good or bad?
[42:08] Speaker 1: I don't know.
[42:09] Speaker 2: I mean, I think I'll bring him off the bench.
[42:10] Speaker 2: Just being there watching that game, and this is no
[42:13] Speaker 2: shade to Luka, but. Watching Luka in the first quarter
[42:16] Speaker 2: of games, dude just standing around watching him go one-on-one
[42:18] Speaker 2: doing what he does.
[42:19] Speaker 1: It's not, yeah. It's tough. I'm seeing the ball move,
[42:22] Speaker 1: but they're knocking down shots. It's a different brand of basketball, man.
[42:26] Speaker 5: It's a different feeling when you think you're going to
[42:28] Speaker 5: get that, bitch, man.
[42:29] Speaker 1: Hell, yeah. And you play on defense. You play on
[42:31] Speaker 1: the defense, man. I'm like, is Canary going crazy?
[42:34] Speaker 6: But Austin Reeves would be happy coming off the bench.
[42:36] Speaker 6: Not happy, but he'll do it. I think he's got
[42:39] Speaker 6: the mentality to say, okay, if that's what you need,
[42:41] Speaker 6: I'll do this.
[42:42] Speaker 5: Your points off the bench.
[42:43] Speaker 6: Yeah, and I'll come in and I'll light it up
[42:44] Speaker 6: for a while.
[42:46] Speaker 5: You got six points off your bench.
[42:48] Speaker 1: No, you're right.
[42:48] Speaker 5: From Jackson Hayes.
[42:49] Speaker 1: You're right.
[42:50] Speaker 4: Instant offense.
[42:51] Speaker 1: You're right. Right away.
[42:53] Speaker 5: Yeah, I'm bringing him on.
[42:55] Speaker 4: And the ball moving. If you think about the way
[42:58] Speaker 4: that you said that.
[42:58] Speaker 5: And then you, Bron, go out, now you feature, now
[43:01] Speaker 5: you feature A.R. when Bron is off the floor, right?
[43:04] Speaker 5: Then you bring him back in, then it's like, now
[43:07] Speaker 5: the game is in, flow and there's a rhythm to
[43:10] Speaker 5: it now. Just starting the game, you throw it to Luka,
[43:14] Speaker 5: he do his thing. You throw it to AR, he
[43:16] Speaker 5: do his thing. You throw it to Bron, he do
[43:18] Speaker 5: his thing. Now you repeat this same fucking throw it
[43:20] Speaker 5: to Luka, he do his thing.
[43:21] Speaker 1: Throw it to AR, he do his thing.
[43:24] Speaker 5: Like that's the way they played.
[43:26] Speaker 1: The first quarter, right? That became their identity.
[43:28] Speaker 4: I think this is a new identity for them. If
[43:31] Speaker 4: you think about LeBron playing the way he's playing, he's
[43:33] Speaker 4: playing more pinch post Joker, MB, give me the ball,
[43:38] Speaker 4: let's play through me.
[43:39] Speaker 1: This the team that they.
[43:42] Speaker 5: Played when they, oh, the team that lost to San
[43:46] Speaker 5: Antonio in the finals. That was a lesser team. He
[43:49] Speaker 5: had to do more, but he was more of a, right?
[43:53] Speaker 1: Go through me. Go through me.
[43:55] Speaker 4: But what I'm saying is for Austin Reeves, if we're
[43:58] Speaker 4: going through.
[43:58] Speaker 8: Brian, it don't matter who those pieces are on the floor.
[44:03] Speaker 6: Mm-hmm.
[44:04] Speaker 8: Somebody's going to catch the ball based on the defense's mistakes.
[44:07] Speaker 8: We're waiting for the defense to make the mistake. He's
[44:11] Speaker 8: going to force it.
[44:12] Speaker 4: So you're either going to come double me in.
[44:14] Speaker 8: This post where I got a mismatch or I got
[44:18] Speaker 8: Luke Kennard right there.
[44:19] Speaker 1: I got Austin Reeves right here. I got Rui over here.
[44:22] Speaker 8: I got Aiton in the dunker. We got pieces now
[44:25] Speaker 8: to know where they're supposed to be. I don't even
[44:28] Speaker 8: have to really act like I'm going to go do
[44:30] Speaker 8: my thing. And I think once he activates... That mid
[44:34] Speaker 8: post where he's making that shit, he's turning around, he's
[44:37] Speaker 8: hitting that shit four out of.
[44:37] Speaker 4: Five, three out of five times.
[44:39] Speaker 5: The turn around.
[44:41] Speaker 8: He's missing a lot of them, but I think those
[44:43] Speaker 8: are still ones that if he get it going, that's
[44:46] Speaker 8: his shot. So now you're looking at Austin Reeves being
[44:49] Speaker 8: like just one of those guys you could just put in. Like, hey, look,
[44:52] Speaker 8: we don't need you doing ISO shit, comfortable shit.
[44:54] Speaker 5: Catch and shoot.
[44:55] Speaker 8: Catch and shoot, drive and get your free throws, and
[44:58] Speaker 8: we good. Let's not disrupt what's working for.
[45:02] Speaker 1: Us right now.
[45:02] Speaker 5: I agree with you. Yeah, because he is a catcher,
[45:04] Speaker 5: and I need to massage, boom, boom, boom. Now, if
[45:07] Speaker 5: everybody else, if it's moving, pop, pop, pop, and you're
[45:09] Speaker 5: the second pass, you got to shoot it.
[45:11] Speaker 4: Right.
[45:11] Speaker 5: Shoot it or drive it. We ain't got time for
[45:14] Speaker 5: you to be going into your package right now. We
[45:17] Speaker 5: ain't got time for you to be hesitant.
[45:19] Speaker 10: But OKC, they're going to need to. That OKC series
[45:22] Speaker 10: will be difficult. Let's get you shooting, though, because they're
[45:24] Speaker 10: good defenders, right? I'm saying they're good defenders. OKC are
[45:26] Speaker 10: good defenders on the ball, so catch and shoot it.
[45:29] Speaker 10: Catch and shoot it. Catch and drive it.
[45:31] Speaker 1: Catch and drive it.
[45:32] Speaker 5: It's your best option against them, right?
[45:34] Speaker 1: Yeah.
[45:35] Speaker 5: Make them make a mistake, right? Catch it. I'm saying
[45:38] Speaker 5: drive it the first three, four times you get it.
[45:40] Speaker 5: Unless you're wide open, right? Catch it, drive it, make
[45:43] Speaker 5: them collapse. And then the ball is, now they're scrambling.
[45:47] Speaker 5: Now them on-ball defenders, Lou Doerr and Wiggins and all
[45:51] Speaker 5: them dudes, they're not as effective as they.
[45:54] Speaker 4: Making them work.
[45:55] Speaker 5: Making them work. Making them move.
[45:57] Speaker 8: It's a different game for defenders when you're making them move.
[46:00] Speaker 8: So you're sitting there and we get to watch y'all.
[46:03] Speaker 1: It's shit. It's break time. You ain't doing shit.
[46:05] Speaker 5: We good on the ball.
[46:06] Speaker 1: For sure. So Lakers riding high right now. Obviously 2-0 lead.
[46:10] Speaker 2: LeBron 32-0 when his teams have a 2-0 lead in
[46:13] Speaker 2: the playoff series in his career. But a lot of
[46:15] Speaker 2: basketball left to be played. See if they can sustain
[46:17] Speaker 2: that level. That's a good sign. Very good sign. But
[46:21] Speaker 2: heading into game three in Houston for the next two games.
[46:22] Speaker 2: But let's keep this thing moving. Stay in the Western Conference.
[46:26] Speaker 2: Wimby made history in his first career playoff game. Setting
[46:28] Speaker 2: the Spurs franchise record for most points in a playoff
[46:31] Speaker 2: debut with 35. San Antonio got the double-digit win. Wimby
[46:35] Speaker 2: was presented with his Defensive Player of the Year trophy
[46:38] Speaker 2: before game two after becoming the first unanimous and youngest
[46:41] Speaker 2: winner of the award. But the Blazers came out firing
[46:44] Speaker 2: in game two, taking an early first quarter lead. And
[46:46] Speaker 2: early in the second quarter, there was a scary moment
[46:48] Speaker 2: for the Spurs and their franchise player.
[46:51] Speaker 1: Let's take a look.
[46:52] Speaker 2: So Wimby drove to the basket, which was fouled by
[46:55] Speaker 2: Drew Holliday, landed face first.
[46:58] Speaker 1: To the ground.
[46:58] Speaker 2: Appeared to be knocked out momentarily before regaining consciousness. stayed
[47:04] Speaker 2: on the ground for several moments before trying to get
[47:06] Speaker 2: up but was unable to do so. And when he
[47:08] Speaker 2: finally did get up, darted to the locker room, was
[47:11] Speaker 2: ruled out for the remainder of the game while in
[47:14] Speaker 2: concussion protocol, later announced that he indeed did suffer a concussion.
[47:18] Speaker 2: So the game was close until the Spurs started the
[47:21] Speaker 2: fourth quarter with a 13-0 run, take a 14-point lead
[47:24] Speaker 2: with under nine minutes to go.
[47:25] Speaker 1: But the Blazers caught fire in.
[47:27] Speaker 2: Crunch time, outscoring the Spurs 27-10 from that point on.
[47:32] Speaker 2: Scoot Henderson hit a big three with under three minutes
[47:35] Speaker 2: remaining to cut the deficit to one.
[47:38] Speaker 1: And then Drew.
[47:41] Speaker 2: And Robert Williams put him ahead. So Scoot had 31
[47:45] Speaker 2: points in the game. And then 12 seconds left. Danny
[47:49] Speaker 2: Avdija lobbed to Robert Williams, the third. Put the Blazers
[47:55] Speaker 2: up three. Devin Vassell had a chance to send it
[47:56] Speaker 2: to OT. But missed a potential game-time three. So Spurs
[48:01] Speaker 2: offense struggled in clutch time. Blazers held them without a
[48:04] Speaker 2: field goal for the final 3 minutes 37 seconds of
[48:07] Speaker 2: game action, closing the game on an 11-2 run. Scoot
[48:10] Speaker 2: Henderson led the Blazers with a game-high 31 points. He
[48:13] Speaker 2: was 11-17 from the field, including 5-9 from three. Drew
[48:16] Speaker 2: Holiday had 16-9 assists. Danny Avdi, a cool dolphin, game
[48:19] Speaker 2: two after his 30-10, finishing with 14 points on 5-13 shooting.
[48:24] Speaker 2: And Robert Williams, their big off the bench, 11 points,
[48:26] Speaker 2: 9 rebounds, 5-6 from the field.
[48:29] Speaker 1: Stephon Castle, led.
[48:30] Speaker 2: The Spurs with 18 points in the year, and Fox
[48:32] Speaker 2: had 17, and Devin Vassell had 16 and 12 boards,
[48:35] Speaker 2: but the Spurs trio combined 19 for 52 from the field,
[48:38] Speaker 2: three for 14 from three. San Antonio had won 76
[48:41] Speaker 2: straight playoff games when leading by 14 points or more
[48:44] Speaker 2: in the fourth quarter. Obviously, that streak snapped the last
[48:47] Speaker 2: time that didn't happen back in 2003 against the Mavs.
[48:50] Speaker 2: So we're going to talk the game shortly, but let's
[48:52] Speaker 2: talk about when to be first. So Aileen will be
[48:54] Speaker 2: sidelined for at least game three as he looks to
[48:57] Speaker 2: complete the required return to participation process. Obviously suffered the concussion.
[49:02] Speaker 2: Has to sit out a minimum of 48 hours. He
[49:03] Speaker 2: can resume gradual activity in 24 hours as long as
[49:07] Speaker 2: the symptoms don't worsen, but must hit several benchmarks before
[49:11] Speaker 2: he can return to a game. So the average time
[49:13] Speaker 2: missed for a concussion, seven to ten days, which means
[49:18] Speaker 2: Wimby could be out until game six or game seven. Skip,
[49:21] Speaker 2: when you look at the situation going on with Wimby,
[49:23] Speaker 2: how concerning is Wimby's concussion for the Spurs moving forward
[49:27] Speaker 2: in this series?
[49:28] Speaker 6: Extremely. And just quickly, on the fall that he took,
[49:36] Speaker 6: It was a weird play because he's got Drew Holiday
[49:39] Speaker 6: up in him at the top of the circle, and
[49:44] Speaker 6: at 7'4, he is so skilled, he tries to do
[49:47] Speaker 6: a 360 spin on him, a dribble spin, where he's
[49:51] Speaker 6: going whirling dervish at 7'4, and Drew said, I didn't
[49:55] Speaker 6: foul him, and I don't think he fouls him on
[49:56] Speaker 6: the play. But Wimby is going so fast that he
[50:01] Speaker 6: gets his own feet mixed up underneath him and he
[50:05] Speaker 6: sort of tripped himself up. And as you guys know,
[50:09] Speaker 6: from falling many times that you fell, there are two
[50:12] Speaker 6: ways that you can fall in basketball. One's with the
[50:15] Speaker 6: basketball and one's without the basketball. Well, he's still trying
[50:18] Speaker 6: to hang on to the basketball. If you fall without
[50:21] Speaker 6: the basketball, you can brace yourself and maybe maybe sort
[50:28] Speaker 6: of make it a little better on yourself unless you
[50:30] Speaker 6: break your wrist. But again, you can keep your head
[50:33] Speaker 6: up off the floor with your hands. And he lost
[50:37] Speaker 6: his hands trying to hold on to the basketball. And
[50:41] Speaker 6: it's a long way to fall from 7'4. And he
[50:45] Speaker 6: face planted on the hardwood. And to me, the first
[50:49] Speaker 6: thing I thought, he hit his jaw so hard on
[50:52] Speaker 6: the hardwood. I wondered if it broke his jaw, but
[50:54] Speaker 6: it can obviously concuss from there. But it was a
[50:59] Speaker 6: nasty fall. It was a full speed for 7'4 face plant.
[51:06] Speaker 6: And it looked bad to me. And he tried to
[51:10] Speaker 6: get up and he wobbled. It was a very good
[51:13] Speaker 6: sign that he then bolted up the tunnel to the
[51:17] Speaker 6: locker room. But the problem with last night was I
[51:21] Speaker 6: was highly impressed with how they all took it up
[51:25] Speaker 6: a level. And they're down three when he got hurt.
[51:28] Speaker 6: And then I look up with five and a half
[51:31] Speaker 6: minutes left, six and a half minutes left. They're up
[51:33] Speaker 6: 14 at home. Come on, man. And De'Aaron Fox a
[51:37] Speaker 6: year ago was the clutch player of the year. And
[51:40] Speaker 6: I'm thinking, he'll close this. Or Castle will close this.
[51:45] Speaker 6: Or Vassell or Keldon will come in. Somebody's going to
[51:49] Speaker 6: close this. And they all go cold down the stretch.
[51:52] Speaker 6: And Joe mentioned it. They get outscored 27-10 from that
[51:57] Speaker 6: point on, and I'm looking at all the missed shots.
[52:00] Speaker 6: De'Aaron Fox with 138 had two. They got an offensive rebound.
[52:04] Speaker 6: He missed a three, and he missed a little wide-open floater.
[52:08] Speaker 6: You've got to make one of them, and then Castle
[52:11] Speaker 6: misses a 14-footer, and Vassell misses a three, and finally
[52:16] Speaker 6: it comes down to Robert Williams' time lords in there,
[52:21] Speaker 6: and he gets just a wide-open lob dunk from Denny
[52:24] Speaker 6: on a downhill drive, and then that's it. All of
[52:27] Speaker 6: a sudden you look up and you're like, wait a second,
[52:29] Speaker 6: they're going to lose this game at home? And Kamara, listen,
[52:35] Speaker 6: they got athletes everywhere. They're coming in. Even Theibel, who's
[52:40] Speaker 6: their designated defender, did a really nice job on Vassell
[52:43] Speaker 6: on the left because he had a shot to tie
[52:45] Speaker 6: it and got a nice look from the corner, and
[52:47] Speaker 6: Theibel was all over him and didn't foul him. And
[52:52] Speaker 6: I just... I like Portland. I've liked them. They've been
[52:55] Speaker 6: quietly hot down the stretch. They've been really good at home.
[52:58] Speaker 6: They won eight of their last ten at home.
[53:02] Speaker 1: I just.
[53:03] Speaker 6: I don't think San Antonio can beat them without Wimby
[53:05] Speaker 6: at Portland in these two games because they're coming fast.
[53:09] Speaker 6: They're coming Friday night and Sunday afternoon. And I just
[53:13] Speaker 6: think this is going to be a three-to-one deficit going
[53:16] Speaker 6: back to San Antonio. And then maybe it'll be borderline
[53:19] Speaker 6: whether Wimby could come back. But to your point... conventional
[53:24] Speaker 6: wisdom would say he's not going to be back for
[53:26] Speaker 6: game five. And if he's not, I, I just, I
[53:29] Speaker 6: hate this for them because I was looking forward to
[53:31] Speaker 6: seeing Oklahoma city and San Antonio and see what, who's
[53:34] Speaker 6: got what. And with no Wimby, boy, this changes the
[53:39] Speaker 6: balance of power, man. And so I, because they failed
[53:43] Speaker 6: so miserably down the stretch and they shot from three,
[53:46] Speaker 6: there's seven or 24 last night. And then on the
[53:50] Speaker 6: other side, scoot Henderson, uh, has not lived up to
[53:54] Speaker 6: the third overall pick. That was his coming out party
[53:57] Speaker 6: last night, to me, where he didn't score 30, even
[54:00] Speaker 6: close to 31 all year. He averaged 13. And he
[54:04] Speaker 6: came out like he was all business last night. For
[54:06] Speaker 6: the first time since I've been watching him since before
[54:09] Speaker 6: he got drafted, when he played those exhibitions against Wembley,
[54:13] Speaker 6: that was the first time. It looked like he grew
[54:15] Speaker 6: up last night. And from start to finish, he played
[54:19] Speaker 6: grown man basketball. He looks like a grown man now.
[54:24] Speaker 6: He's grown up. He's a spiritual kid. I just liked
[54:27] Speaker 6: what I saw from him and from them. I think
[54:30] Speaker 6: they're going to be a handful for a no-Wimby San
[54:33] Speaker 6: Antonio in Portland.
[54:35] Speaker 4: I think you're overreacting, Skip.
[54:37] Speaker 1: I think you're overreacting. You know why?
[54:40] Speaker 8: As you look at this game particularly, Wimby goes out.
[54:45] Speaker 8: There's an adjustment that needs to happen right away. That
[54:48] Speaker 8: adjustment means to We need to go to our alternatives.
[54:52] Speaker 8: Our alternative option is De'Aaron Fox. Like you said, we're
[54:55] Speaker 8: up 14.
[54:56] Speaker 4: Take us home.
[54:58] Speaker 8: I think that take us home moment comes with the
[55:02] Speaker 8: conflict of every team is going to make runs.
[55:05] Speaker 4: It's a game of runs. And it was time for Portland's.
[55:08] Speaker 8: Run to make a comeback in the fourth quarter. The
[55:11] Speaker 8: difference with the Spurs, with Wimby and the Spurs without
[55:15] Speaker 8: Wimby is sustaining those runs, being able to cut the
[55:19] Speaker 8: run off sooner rather than later. They cut it off later,
[55:23] Speaker 8: which means that it's a close game now. Now it's
[55:26] Speaker 8: a two-point game. It's a one-point game. You got Denny Avia.
[55:30] Speaker 8: You got certain guys that can make plays that are
[55:32] Speaker 8: going up against your so-called stoppers, which would be Castle,
[55:36] Speaker 8: which would be Dylan Harper, Vassell, so, so be it.
[55:41] Speaker 4: But you don't have a Wimby. You have a Luke Cornett.
[55:44] Speaker 8: So when I look at the game and I look
[55:46] Speaker 8: in these final moments and I say, okay, if we're
[55:49] Speaker 8: going to face Portland in the next three, four games,
[55:52] Speaker 8: and we're going to have to make adjustments based on
[55:55] Speaker 8: not having Wimby, those adjustments need to be on the
[55:57] Speaker 8: defensive end.
[55:59] Speaker 4: That needs to be, we need to make stops.
[56:01] Speaker 8: And if we don't make shots, not allow our missed
[56:04] Speaker 8: shots to disrupt our defense, because it usually happens when
[56:08] Speaker 8: you deflate on not making shots on the offensive end,
[56:11] Speaker 8: it affects you on the defensive end. I think that
[56:14] Speaker 8: a lot of that was happening where they knew they
[56:16] Speaker 8: needed to make shots. They did and they came and
[56:18] Speaker 8: it affected them on the defensive end. I don't think
[56:22] Speaker 8: that Portland has anything or shown anything that should be
[56:25] Speaker 8: a threat to how they play defense. I think they
[56:28] Speaker 8: just need to lock in on certain moments. Certain guys
[56:31] Speaker 8: need to make big shots and big plays down the stretch.
[56:34] Speaker 8: That didn't happen. kelvin johnson didn't step into his rightful
[56:39] Speaker 8: role um champagne he didn't hit a bunch of the
[56:43] Speaker 8: shots that he should have taken and should have made
[56:46] Speaker 8: he was two for three the sale was over five
[56:50] Speaker 8: i mean your identity is lost for a temporary um
[56:54] Speaker 8: space because you got a big piece of your puzzle
[56:57] Speaker 8: gone but it's always next man up and that next
[57:00] Speaker 8: man has to.
[57:01] Speaker 1: Be DM Fox.
[57:02] Speaker 6: It does.
[57:03] Speaker 4: I agree.
[57:04] Speaker 8: He can't waver in these moments just because the guy's
[57:07] Speaker 8: down and you'd be like, well, I guess it's on me.
[57:09] Speaker 4: No, it's on you. It's been on you from the start.
[57:11] Speaker 1: You're the vet.
[57:12] Speaker 8: You have to show up. And so with this being said,
[57:16] Speaker 8: I'm looking at Miss Johnson to really change the identity
[57:22] Speaker 8: around more Fox-centric and getting him downhill, getting him to
[57:27] Speaker 8: his mid-range, allowing Vassell and Castle to drive and be
[57:32] Speaker 8: slashers and allowing Champagne and maybe Harrison Barnes more time
[57:36] Speaker 8: to hit shots in the opening. Other than that, I
[57:40] Speaker 8: think it's going to be a battle. I already said
[57:42] Speaker 8: they could win two with Wimby. So stealing this one
[57:46] Speaker 8: was nothing, I think.
[57:48] Speaker 6: So would you dismiss this as a fluke win for Portland?
[57:52] Speaker 1: Yeah.
[57:52] Speaker 4: It was a must win when you got the big
[57:55] Speaker 4: guy out. Must win when you got big guy out?
[57:58] Speaker 4: Must win.
[57:58] Speaker 1: I don't think it's a fluke win.
[58:00] Speaker 5: Up 14?
[58:00] Speaker 1: It's not a fluke at all. You got 14 at home.
[58:03] Speaker 1: They took that game.
[58:04] Speaker 5: I don't think it was a fluke. They took that.
[58:09] Speaker 1: They took that. Robin Williams, he had a night for himself.
[58:14] Speaker 1: He went crazy.
[58:16] Speaker 8: Things needed to go their way for them to get that.
[58:21] Speaker 8: Things needed to go there. I don't think they took it.
[58:23] Speaker 8: I think that things went their way where the stops
[58:27] Speaker 8: didn't happen. They came down and capitalized on certain things
[58:31] Speaker 8: that the Spurs just simple mishaps.
[58:35] Speaker 6: Just remember, Abdi had a weirdly quiet night, shot two
[58:39] Speaker 6: free throws when he usually shoots 10.
[58:41] Speaker 1: Yep. So.
[58:43] Speaker 6: That'll change your poor one.
[58:45] Speaker 5: Home to yeah, yeah, they played the 16. They played
[58:48] Speaker 5: their part six for 16.
[58:49] Speaker 7: Yeah, I mean when we sail six, I mean when
[58:51] Speaker 7: we went out there was 17 That's why they were
[58:55] Speaker 7: three for 12.
[58:56] Speaker 1: Then he was that's our trouble in the game to.
[58:58] Speaker 5: Those those six for 16 6 for 16 7 for
[59:00] Speaker 5: 20 That's.
[59:01] Speaker 4: At home, but that's forced too.
[59:03] Speaker 5: But you don't think they're going on the road.
[59:06] Speaker 1: But you're on the road.
[59:09] Speaker 8: We have to change our mindset. Think about it. On
[59:11] Speaker 8: the road, we know we got to take good shots.
[59:14] Speaker 8: We know every possession counts. At home, we're thinking that
[59:18] Speaker 8: we can just go out here and take these shots.
[59:20] Speaker 8: 7 for 20, 6 for 16, 6 for 16.
[59:23] Speaker 4: Three of your next man ups, they got to take
[59:26] Speaker 4: better shots.
[59:27] Speaker 8: They got to put themselves in position to do better
[59:30] Speaker 8: for the team efficiency.
[59:31] Speaker 5: But just hear me out, too. Hey, it is going
[59:35] Speaker 5: to be so loud.
[59:37] Speaker 1: Rip City, for sure.
[59:39] Speaker 5: In Portland.
[59:40] Speaker 3: 100%.
[59:40] Speaker 5: I just want y'all to know this.
[59:41] Speaker 4: Very loud.
[59:42] Speaker 5: With no experience on that roster besides De'Aaron Fox having
[59:48] Speaker 5: playoff game, good luck. Hey, man, might be a blowout.
[59:56] Speaker 5: In game three.
[59:57] Speaker 1: No, listen, it might be.
[59:58] Speaker 5: It might be a blowout.
[59:59] Speaker 1: It might be good. Come out there and jump on
[1:00:01] Speaker 1: them boys.
[1:00:02] Speaker 5: Listen, man, it's going to be so loud in there, dog.
[1:00:04] Speaker 1: Blazers fans will not have t-shirts. Drew Holiday got experience.
[1:00:07] Speaker 1: He already know what's up. Yeah, dog. It's going to
[1:00:10] Speaker 1: be loud in there, man. No t-shirts for Blazers fans.
[1:00:12] Speaker 1: Their owner. And I like the way Drew played last night.
[1:00:14] Speaker 1: What did he say?
[1:00:15] Speaker 5: He wasn't cutting?
[1:00:15] Speaker 1: Very cheap. Don't want to pay the light bill. Yeah,
[1:00:19] Speaker 1: he played good last night.
[1:00:20] Speaker 3: The first.
[1:00:21] Speaker 5: Yeah, no, I'm excited to see the way Portland go
[1:00:23] Speaker 5: look at home, right? They ain't had a playoff game
[1:00:26] Speaker 5: in forever and get these fans something. Yeah, man. No Wimby.
[1:00:32] Speaker 1: Hey, we. That's it. Robin, just keep doing what you
[1:00:35] Speaker 1: did last night. Take the point.
[1:00:37] Speaker 5: He's going to do that. If he's on the floor,
[1:00:39] Speaker 5: you know what he's going to do.
[1:00:40] Speaker 8: Well, when the league MVP's on the floor, man, you
[1:00:42] Speaker 8: got a chance to win.
[1:00:43] Speaker 4: I get it.
[1:00:44] Speaker 1: The league MVP, Victor Wimby. When he's off the floor,
[1:00:48] Speaker 1: you got a chance.
[1:00:48] Speaker 4: But when he get back, it's Russ Parham.
[1:00:51] Speaker 5: Might not. Might not. Better hope it's sooner than later.
[1:00:55] Speaker 5: Might be too late.
[1:00:56] Speaker 2: So 48-hour minimum, so he could be back as early
[1:00:59] Speaker 2: as game three. But like I mentioned, average time for
[1:01:01] Speaker 2: concussions and return to the court, seven to ten days.
[1:01:03] Speaker 1: Yeah.
[1:01:04] Speaker 3: So that ain't happening.
[1:01:05] Speaker 5: So you said it, Skip. I didn't think Drew found him.
[1:01:09] Speaker 5: Drew pulled a chair on him, right? He was trying
[1:01:12] Speaker 5: to get into Drew Holiday's body, and Drew moved. He
[1:01:16] Speaker 5: tripped himself.
[1:01:17] Speaker 1: He did.
[1:01:17] Speaker 5: And stumbled, and it was a long way down. Me
[1:01:21] Speaker 5: and Brandon talked about it last night. I'm like, dude,
[1:01:22] Speaker 5: you don't know how to fall? And another thing, you
[1:01:27] Speaker 5: said he couldn't get up right away. I would have
[1:01:29] Speaker 5: laid there until I got my bearings together. These games
[1:01:35] Speaker 5: mean too much right now. I get if you hurt,
[1:01:37] Speaker 5: you hurt. You can't continue. I understand that.
[1:01:39] Speaker 6: Did you ever hit your face on the court?
[1:01:41] Speaker 1: No. No.
[1:01:42] Speaker 7: That's why we said the way he felt, you would
[1:01:44] Speaker 7: have thought he would have went.
[1:01:45] Speaker 1: Yeah. I'm going to.
[1:01:47] Speaker 5: Break a finger, a rib before I hit my face.
[1:01:50] Speaker 5: He had the basketball.
[1:01:51] Speaker 6: He's losing it.
[1:01:52] Speaker 1: Can we see it one more time? Damn the ball.
[1:01:54] Speaker 1: Damn the ball. Yeah, damn that ball. Watch it.
[1:01:59] Speaker 5: Drew moved. He tried to bump him and Drew pulled back.
[1:02:05] Speaker 1: And I think he did pull the chair too. Pulled
[1:02:08] Speaker 1: the chair.
[1:02:09] Speaker 6: Yes.
[1:02:10] Speaker 1: Out to take a look at Wimpanyama.
[1:02:11] Speaker 5: And the coach, hey, so this is the inexperience here, right?
[1:02:18] Speaker 5: What should Mitch have done?
[1:02:21] Speaker 1: Timeout. Thank you, K. All right.
[1:02:25] Speaker 5: To the timeout. Give him time to see if he can, right?
[1:02:30] Speaker 5: Get it because he could get up right away maybe
[1:02:33] Speaker 5: because when he ran back to the tunnel, that could
[1:02:35] Speaker 5: have been the.
[1:02:37] Speaker 2: They talked about in the game broadcast, it wasn't a
[1:02:40] Speaker 2: shooting foul, but if he was shooting, he would have
[1:02:42] Speaker 2: to stand and shoot those free throws.
[1:02:43] Speaker 5: But take the time out, though, right? Take the time out.
[1:02:47] Speaker 5: Give him a chance to recover. But the inexperience of
[1:02:50] Speaker 5: being in that situation. Yeah, but no, it's... Yeah, you
[1:02:56] Speaker 5: got to learn how to fall, man.
[1:02:58] Speaker 1: Yeah, you....
[1:03:01] Speaker 2: Obviously, this is the playoffs, but regular season Spurs were 12-6.
[1:03:05] Speaker 2: Without Wimby, 2-1 against the Blazers.
[1:03:07] Speaker 1: Yeah.
[1:03:08] Speaker 2: During that 18-game stretch that he missed.
[1:03:10] Speaker 6: So, one other quick point. ESPN reported that... You want
[1:03:14] Speaker 6: to go?
[1:03:15] Speaker 5: No, one of my friends in Portland, fans here mad
[1:03:19] Speaker 5: as shit at the new owner over the t-shirts.
[1:03:22] Speaker 1: Can't get a t-shirt?
[1:03:24] Speaker 5: He lives in Portland. A kid I went to high
[1:03:26] Speaker 5: school with.
[1:03:26] Speaker 1: T-shirt, no running water.
[1:03:27] Speaker 2: Didn't travel to two-way players on the road.
[1:03:31] Speaker 5: Shout out to Prep, man. Appreciate you.
[1:03:33] Speaker 6: Speaking of that, ESPN did report this morning that the
[1:03:37] Speaker 6: new owner, the cheapskate owner, is already interviewing coaches for
[1:03:43] Speaker 6: Tiago Splitter's position as head coach. And I think this team,
[1:03:47] Speaker 6: from what I've heard and what I see, I think
[1:03:50] Speaker 6: they like playing for him. And so this is going
[1:03:52] Speaker 6: to further inspire them to play hard for Tiago to.
[1:03:59] Speaker 6: He said, I'm just trying to be a professional. I'm
[1:04:01] Speaker 6: trying to do the best I can. That was his comment,
[1:04:03] Speaker 6: his reaction. And I think that lights their fire even
[1:04:10] Speaker 6: a little stronger, that the new owner's out trying to
[1:04:13] Speaker 6: find another coach while they're still trying to win a
[1:04:17] Speaker 6: playoff series against one of the favorites. So I like
[1:04:22] Speaker 6: that for Portland. That's a plus for Portland.
[1:04:25] Speaker 5: Yeah, the fans are going to rally, man. They're going
[1:04:27] Speaker 5: to show up and, yeah, I'm going to be there.
[1:04:30] Speaker 1: Yeah, that shit sound good. They got some good momentum.
[1:04:32] Speaker 1: They got some good momentum. Jailblazers. Jailblazers documentary out. That
[1:04:37] Speaker 1: shit was crazy.
[1:04:39] Speaker 10: Did you watch it?
[1:04:41] Speaker 1: Yeah, I did. Rashid was crazy. I'm just saying the
[1:04:45] Speaker 1: momentum over there in Portland.
[1:04:46] Speaker 4: They got that.
[1:04:47] Speaker 1: According to reports.
[1:04:49] Speaker 2: The Blazers new owner was in talks with Tiago Splitter
[1:04:52] Speaker 2: about Contract extension.
[1:04:53] Speaker 6: First he was. But he's offering him so little money
[1:04:56] Speaker 6: that he just said, let's table it.
[1:04:57] Speaker 2: Said, I can't give you no money, but I got
[1:04:59] Speaker 2: these cheeseburgers for you. And it's now going around. Saying,
[1:05:03] Speaker 2: I want these cheeseburgers to come coach the Blazers. But
[1:05:06] Speaker 2: just to even have that being reported while this series
[1:05:08] Speaker 2: is going on. Blazers, obviously, first time in the playoffs
[1:05:11] Speaker 2: in a while. It's just nasty work as a young kid.
[1:05:14] Speaker 1: It is.
[1:05:14] Speaker 7: I mean, it's the same thing like in Orlando right
[1:05:16] Speaker 7: now with the coach. They said, you know, he could
[1:05:19] Speaker 7: be gone. at the end of the year no matter what,
[1:05:20] Speaker 7: and you see how their team responded.
[1:05:22] Speaker 6: Yeah, they did.
[1:05:23] Speaker 3: So you just got to wait and see.
[1:05:27] Speaker 2: Well, let's talk a little more Blazers. Blazers took advantage
[1:05:29] Speaker 2: of Wimby being sidelined to even the series. Scoot Henderson
[1:05:32] Speaker 2: delivered a monster game. His 31 points was the highest
[1:05:35] Speaker 2: scoring performance since January 2025. Scoot was asked when was
[1:05:40] Speaker 2: the moment he knew he was going to have a
[1:05:42] Speaker 2: big game, gave this response.
[1:05:45] Speaker 1: When I woke up. Elaborate. What went through your mind?
[1:05:49] Speaker 3: You woke up and did what?
[1:05:51] Speaker 11: I woke up, brushed my teeth, went downstairs, got dressed
[1:05:59] Speaker 11: for the shoot-around. I'd say right after I brushed my teeth.
[1:06:04] Speaker 1: Going downstairs. So why then? I don't know.
[1:06:07] Speaker 11: It's just a feeling.
[1:06:09] Speaker 1: I get it.
[1:06:10] Speaker 11: Kind of just telling myself the night before, like, attack. Like,
[1:06:15] Speaker 11: they can't mess with you, so. Yeah, that was my
[1:06:19] Speaker 11: goal to come here and attack, get downhill, play hard,
[1:06:22] Speaker 11: and whatever happens, happens.
[1:06:25] Speaker 2: So Scoot now joins Wimby as the only players from
[1:06:27] Speaker 2: the 2023 draft class with a 30-point playoff game. For
[1:06:30] Speaker 2: the series, he's averaging 25 points, shooting 64% from the field, 54%
[1:06:34] Speaker 2: from three. So we talked about this, I believe, yesterday.
[1:06:37] Speaker 2: But what has Scoot Henderson shown you so far in
[1:06:40] Speaker 2: this series?
[1:06:42] Speaker 3: He took off them goggles.
[1:06:43] Speaker 1: It's on now. The goggles were a questionable. It's on now, baby.
[1:06:48] Speaker 2: As you guys say, you do not respect most hoopers
[1:06:50] Speaker 2: that wear goggles. I did not say that.
[1:06:54] Speaker 5: Real glasses.
[1:06:55] Speaker 4: James Worthy.
[1:06:56] Speaker 5: Real with the strap on him. Real glasses is nasty.
[1:07:03] Speaker 5: He had to pick one. He either had to pick
[1:07:04] Speaker 5: double zero or the goggles.
[1:07:07] Speaker 1: One had to go. He couldn't wear both.
[1:07:09] Speaker 3: One had to go.
[1:07:10] Speaker 5: And he picked one, now he's playing better. But my
[1:07:13] Speaker 5: thing is so about you woke up and you felt, well,
[1:07:17] Speaker 5: what happened to all the other games that you didn't play?
[1:07:21] Speaker 4: Yo, stop.
[1:07:22] Speaker 1: What?
[1:07:23] Speaker 4: Stop. He woke up on demon time. He was ready
[1:07:26] Speaker 4: to go. Game two, I need to do more. This
[1:07:29] Speaker 4: your three, right?
[1:07:31] Speaker 6: He was hurt.
[1:07:32] Speaker 1: All of them? Most of them.
[1:07:35] Speaker 5: So what, an old day you felt good when you
[1:07:37] Speaker 5: woke up?
[1:07:37] Speaker 4: See, the nigga couldn't even see he had the goggles on.
[1:07:40] Speaker 4: He couldn't even see what kind of breakfast he was eating.
[1:07:43] Speaker 4: He don't know how to feel in the morning.
[1:07:45] Speaker 1: I like the response, though.
[1:07:46] Speaker 5: I mean, I understand what he was saying. I get it,
[1:07:50] Speaker 5: but it's just the word.
[1:07:51] Speaker 1: I said the same thing.
[1:07:52] Speaker 8: Thing you said though i was actually thinking like what.
[1:07:55] Speaker 12: Happened the rest of the day i get what i
[1:07:57] Speaker 12: understand as a wake up like this yeah i woke
[1:08:00] Speaker 12: up i felt good right okay yeah no but you
[1:08:03] Speaker 12: being in this for as long as like you're supposed
[1:08:05] Speaker 12: to like don't have bad days but there are more
[1:08:10] Speaker 12: good days than bad days trust me like you you
[1:08:13] Speaker 12: have those right.
[1:08:14] Speaker 1: You should have more good ones is this his first
[1:08:16] Speaker 1: playoff experience Yeah.
[1:08:18] Speaker 4: But we show what this show you, though, if you're
[1:08:20] Speaker 4: a coach.
[1:08:20] Speaker 1: Right.
[1:08:21] Speaker 8: Remember how the coach used to be like they give
[1:08:23] Speaker 8: you the test on running the sprints. And if you
[1:08:25] Speaker 8: made a certain time, we're like, now you got to
[1:08:28] Speaker 8: make this time. Every time you set the bar for yourself.
[1:08:33] Speaker 1: Right.
[1:08:33] Speaker 8: So for this, it's like setting the bar like we
[1:08:36] Speaker 8: know you can cut it on. You woke up this morning,
[1:08:40] Speaker 8: you said, this is what I'm going to do. I
[1:08:42] Speaker 8: feel this is going to be like, all right, so
[1:08:44] Speaker 8: when you wake up in the morning, you don't feel that,
[1:08:45] Speaker 8: my nigga.
[1:08:45] Speaker 1: You need to give us a call.
[1:08:47] Speaker 4: Give us a call or something. Hey, I did not
[1:08:50] Speaker 4: have that feeling this morning. I need a nap. Let
[1:08:53] Speaker 4: me go ahead and get something for this. This ain't
[1:08:55] Speaker 4: working tonight. So, yeah, I mean, at this point, he
[1:08:59] Speaker 4: got to wake up like this. day to day for
[1:09:00] Speaker 4: them to get this kind of performance out of him.
[1:09:03] Speaker 2: Was happy to hear that he brushes his teeth, though.
[1:09:04] Speaker 2: That's overlooked by some. Some do not choose that route
[1:09:10] Speaker 2: or option when they wake up.
[1:09:11] Speaker 3: Dave.
[1:09:13] Speaker 7: No, I mean, as far as with Scoop, I mean,
[1:09:16] Speaker 7: it's his first time in the playoffs, man, so. You know,
[1:09:18] Speaker 7: the first thing you do, you definitely want to get
[1:09:20] Speaker 7: your first home road win. Like you said, the playoffs
[1:09:22] Speaker 7: doesn't start until the road team gets a win. For
[1:09:25] Speaker 7: his confidence, I know he's been over there working with Poo.
[1:09:27] Speaker 1: Jetter, the guy that grew up in Virginia.
[1:09:29] Speaker 4: L.A.
[1:09:29] Speaker 1: Legend, Poo Jetter.
[1:09:30] Speaker 3: With myself.
[1:09:32] Speaker 7: And, you know, you see his pull-up, his jumper is
[1:09:33] Speaker 7: getting better.
[1:09:34] Speaker 3: So I'm happy for him. I'm happy for Portland.
[1:09:37] Speaker 7: And, you know, they're going to make this series interesting.
[1:09:41] Speaker 7: And that's all you can ask for.
[1:09:42] Speaker 2: Also have solid vets in Drew Holiday, Dame, obviously over there.
[1:09:45] Speaker 1: Dame, yeah.
[1:09:46] Speaker 7: Might be a rumor, Dane might come back, depending on,
[1:09:48] Speaker 7: you know, how the series goes.
[1:09:56] Speaker 6: So early in the season, he tore his hamstring. And
[1:09:59] Speaker 6: I'm pretty sure it was torn because he missed all
[1:10:02] Speaker 6: but the last 30 games. Then he comes back, starts
[1:10:05] Speaker 6: playing his way into shape. And in the first playoff
[1:10:10] Speaker 6: game that he ever played, in game one, He made
[1:10:14] Speaker 6: 7 of 11. So I'm like, okay, I'm starting to.
[1:10:17] Speaker 1: See, oh, there he is.
[1:10:18] Speaker 6: There's that guy. And to your points, usually I would
[1:10:23] Speaker 6: just laugh at talk like that, but he did walk
[1:10:27] Speaker 6: his talk last night. He ran his talk. I mean,
[1:10:32] Speaker 6: he just looked... like he had conviction from his first shot.
[1:10:37] Speaker 6: He made his first shot, and it just looked right
[1:10:39] Speaker 6: to me, like it looked real, like he wasn't, oh,
[1:10:42] Speaker 6: maybe not on this one. It just looked like I
[1:10:45] Speaker 6: shot that like I'm going to make it, and it
[1:10:47] Speaker 6: went in. And from that point on, that's the way
[1:10:50] Speaker 6: he played the whole way through. And I don't think
[1:10:54] Speaker 6: he's ever had a game like that in his whole career,
[1:10:57] Speaker 6: and he was a third overall pick, and you keep
[1:10:58] Speaker 6: waiting and waiting, and he's been hurt and hurt and hurt.
[1:11:02] Speaker 6: And I also think he was just a kid. I
[1:11:04] Speaker 6: just think he was just a baby. He played with
[1:11:07] Speaker 6: G League Ignite instead of playing in college. And it's...
[1:11:11] Speaker 6: I don't know, G League Ignite, the competition is high,
[1:11:15] Speaker 6: but it's not like playing for a year at Duke
[1:11:17] Speaker 6: or somewhere and playing in the Final Four. And I
[1:11:20] Speaker 6: just think it took him a long time to sort of.
[1:11:22] Speaker 1: to.
[1:11:23] Speaker 6: Figure it out, to figure out his rhythm. And it
[1:11:27] Speaker 6: looked like last night he just... I don't think he's
[1:11:30] Speaker 6: a big trash talker or a bullshit artist. I think
[1:11:33] Speaker 6: he's real. And I liked what I saw last night.
[1:11:36] Speaker 6: And I think he'll sustain this from here on. I
[1:11:41] Speaker 6: like what he's made of. I like it. The other
[1:11:44] Speaker 6: funny thing about his line last night, he had zero
[1:11:47] Speaker 6: assists when he's supposed to be kind of point guarded.
[1:11:50] Speaker 6: So he just said, I'm going to attack. And I'm
[1:11:55] Speaker 6: not going to pass it back. Every time I have
[1:11:58] Speaker 6: a hint of a shot, I'm going to take that
[1:12:00] Speaker 6: shot like I mean it. And that's what you saw.
[1:12:03] Speaker 6: I saw it all game long. He was not passing
[1:12:06] Speaker 6: the basketball.
[1:12:07] Speaker 1: And Abdia just.
[1:12:09] Speaker 6: I kept looking at him like, oh, you showed up. Oh,
[1:12:15] Speaker 6: you want to do this. Well, I'm okay. And Avdija
[1:12:18] Speaker 6: took a backseat to him and took only, what, 13
[1:12:22] Speaker 6: shots last night. I mean, for him, he's a 30-shot guy.
[1:12:26] Speaker 6: You know, okay.
[1:12:28] Speaker 7: I think it helps Drew Holiday being out there for school.
[1:12:32] Speaker 1: The way Drew was playing yesterday, he was able to
[1:12:34] Speaker 1: just play. Just play freely.
[1:12:36] Speaker 3: I'll handle getting everybody involved.
[1:12:38] Speaker 6: Drew had nine assists, so that's it.
[1:12:41] Speaker 3: There it is.
[1:12:43] Speaker 5: I pass and you shoot it.
[1:12:45] Speaker 1: You're the youngest one. You can keep up with them.
[1:12:48] Speaker 1: Let's go.
[1:12:49] Speaker 6: He can keep up with them. He's got that kind
[1:12:52] Speaker 6: of ability.
[1:12:52] Speaker 4: He's playing the two.
[1:12:53] Speaker 8: It's a bona fide two-guard position right now.
[1:12:57] Speaker 4: And no pressure. Thinking about pressure release guys.
[1:13:01] Speaker 1: Yeah.
[1:13:01] Speaker 8: For Denny and for Drew, you know, both being out
[1:13:04] Speaker 8: there and you still got guys like Shaden and Jeremy
[1:13:08] Speaker 8: Grant that could be in Scoop's position. I think they're
[1:13:12] Speaker 8: all three like guys who are trying to get that
[1:13:14] Speaker 8: chip off their shoulder.
[1:13:15] Speaker 4: I want to show you that I can do it.
[1:13:16] Speaker 1: Yeah.
[1:13:17] Speaker 8: And I think when you talk about waking up with
[1:13:19] Speaker 8: the conviction of I'm going to do this, there's a
[1:13:22] Speaker 8: lot of times you look at film and you see
[1:13:24] Speaker 8: all the things you could have took advantage of in
[1:13:25] Speaker 8: film and.
[1:13:26] Speaker 4: You're like, damn. Why didn't I drive right there?
[1:13:28] Speaker 8: Like, when I do drive, I could do more here
[1:13:32] Speaker 8: to get my bucket if I don't give up for
[1:13:36] Speaker 8: the pass at that particular moment. You look at a
[1:13:39] Speaker 8: lot of dynamic scorers who get into the lane and
[1:13:41] Speaker 8: then they pass because that's the next play. But for him,
[1:13:45] Speaker 8: no assist, it means there is no next play. This
[1:13:47] Speaker 8: is Cam Thomas type of mentality. Now, let me get
[1:13:50] Speaker 8: inside here. Let me go to my shit. And regardless
[1:13:53] Speaker 8: of if it goes in or not, I have to
[1:13:54] Speaker 8: shoot it with confidence. to let my teammates know that
[1:13:58] Speaker 8: I'm custom to making these type of shots and shooting
[1:14:00] Speaker 8: these type of shots. And him being the only real
[1:14:03] Speaker 8: other guard out there that can really get to the
[1:14:05] Speaker 8: bucket against them type of defenders.
[1:14:08] Speaker 4: Like, he wasn't scared to go against Castle.
[1:14:10] Speaker 8: He wasn't scared to go against Vassell. He feels like
[1:14:13] Speaker 8: I can take y'all to the bucket and I can
[1:14:14] Speaker 8: finish y'all off. That's the type of fear that San
[1:14:20] Speaker 8: Antonio's going to have for a guard like that. I
[1:14:23] Speaker 8: don't think any of the other guards, they fear. But
[1:14:26] Speaker 8: him is one of the guys, like, they can sustain Drew.
[1:14:29] Speaker 8: I don't think they're scared of Drew. I think that
[1:14:31] Speaker 8: a guy like Scoop, a guy like.
[1:14:33] Speaker 4: Shady Sharp, very explosive guards that can get down and
[1:14:36] Speaker 4: hit mid-ranges and get to the rim, that's scary for them.
[1:14:40] Speaker 4: And if they show up again.
[1:14:41] Speaker 8: For the next two, three games, on top of Denny
[1:14:45] Speaker 8: figuring out what he going to do, if you're going
[1:14:46] Speaker 8: to give me 20 shots or you're going to give
[1:14:48] Speaker 8: me 16 shots, Like I said, they stole this one
[1:14:51] Speaker 8: based on Denny not really being the guy that was
[1:14:53] Speaker 8: going to take it over the top.
[1:14:55] Speaker 1: They found a way to win that game.
[1:14:57] Speaker 8: But this next game, if they actually implement these things
[1:15:01] Speaker 8: as what we're going to do, it's a different story
[1:15:04] Speaker 8: for sure.
[1:15:05] Speaker 2: We will see how the rest of that series pans out,
[1:15:08] Speaker 2: but let's keep this thing moving.
[1:15:10] Speaker 1: Now shift over to the Eastern Conference. So Celtics.
[1:15:15] Speaker 2: came through with their largest playoff opening win in franchise
[1:15:18] Speaker 2: history in game one win over the Sixers. After that game,
[1:15:21] Speaker 2: this didn't look like it was going to be much
[1:15:22] Speaker 2: of a series, but the Sixers back court bounced back
[1:15:26] Speaker 2: with a monster performance in game two to even things up.
[1:15:29] Speaker 2: Let's take a look at the highlights if we can, please. So,
[1:15:32] Speaker 2: Vijay Edgecombe delivered one of his best performances of the
[1:15:35] Speaker 2: season despite playing through a back injury he suffered early
[1:15:37] Speaker 2: in the game. The third overall pick led the Sixers
[1:15:39] Speaker 2: with a team-high.
[1:15:40] Speaker 1: 30 points, 10 boards. No way. That was nasty. Damn it, Dambona.
[1:15:46] Speaker 1: Prayers for the Bruins.
[1:15:48] Speaker 2: So, Vijay's second 30-point game against the Celtics this season.
[1:15:51] Speaker 2: You may recall he dropped 34 at Boston in his
[1:15:53] Speaker 2: rookie debut back in October. Edgecombe, first rookie to record
[1:15:57] Speaker 2: at least 30. points and 10 boards in a playoff
[1:16:00] Speaker 2: game since Tim Duncan back in 1998. Also surpassed Magic
[1:16:04] Speaker 2: Johnson as the youngest player to do it. Tyrese Maxey
[1:16:06] Speaker 2: came through with 29 points on 11 of 26 shooting
[1:16:10] Speaker 2: and 9 assists. Sixers backcourt combined to shoot 11 for
[1:16:14] Speaker 2: 22 from distance. So the Sixers were 19 for 39
[1:16:17] Speaker 2: from deep in Game 2 after making just 4 of
[1:16:20] Speaker 2: their 23 attempts in Game 1. Jalen Brown, Jason Tatum,
[1:16:23] Speaker 2: the only two Celtics to score in double figures in
[1:16:26] Speaker 2: this game. Brown putting up a team-high 36 points along
[1:16:29] Speaker 2: with seven rebounds. Tatum coming assist shy of a triple-double.
[1:16:34] Speaker 2: He had 19, 14 boards, and nine assists. Sixers outscored
[1:16:38] Speaker 2: the Celtics 37-26 in the second quarter, taking an eight-point
[1:16:41] Speaker 2: lead in the break. Led by seven points heading into
[1:16:44] Speaker 2: the fourth quarter, Celtics tried to mount a comeback, cutting
[1:16:46] Speaker 2: the deficit to two. The Sixers went on an 11-0
[1:16:50] Speaker 2: run to take control of the game, including that nice
[1:16:55] Speaker 2: lay by Tyrese Maxey.
[1:16:58] Speaker 1: Oh, my Lord.
[1:16:59] Speaker 5: Touch earth.
[1:17:00] Speaker 2: Joe Mazzulla pulled the Celtics starters with the minute remaining
[1:17:03] Speaker 2: conceding defeat. Philly had Boston to just 43 points in
[1:17:06] Speaker 2: the second half. Celtics shot just 39% in the game.
[1:17:10] Speaker 2: Now the series is tied, heading back to Philly for
[1:17:13] Speaker 2: game three Friday. After the game, Jalen Brown and Paul
[1:17:16] Speaker 2: George had high praise for Vijay.
[1:17:19] Speaker 13: I thought it was just too comfortable. He built the
[1:17:22] Speaker 13: rhythm and was able to just, you know, have an
[1:17:25] Speaker 13: extreme impact on the game. Also, he has six threes, which,
[1:17:30] Speaker 13: you know.
[1:17:30] Speaker 3: He's a capable shooter.
[1:17:32] Speaker 13: So we just got to be able to adjust and
[1:17:33] Speaker 13: be ready to guard him because he's a ball player.
[1:17:36] Speaker 13: You know, he's a rookie, but he can play. So
[1:17:39] Speaker 13: we got to be better on him. G, I was curious.
[1:17:42] Speaker 6: The guy next to you is the first rookie since
[1:17:44] Speaker 6: Tim Duncan at 30 and 10 in a playoff game,
[1:17:47] Speaker 6: and he surpassed Magic.
[1:17:48] Speaker 1: That's the youngest guy to ever do that in a
[1:17:50] Speaker 1: playoff game.
[1:17:51] Speaker 3: I was curious what your thoughts are.
[1:17:53] Speaker 1: You did that? A wallet?
[1:17:57] Speaker 3: A wallet?
[1:17:58] Speaker 1: You wallet? Wild for short shot.
[1:18:02] Speaker 2: See you rocking. A fellow doctor, the Julius Irving, Sixers jersey, autograph.
[1:18:12] Speaker 1: One of one.
[1:18:13] Speaker 4: One of one.
[1:18:14] Speaker 2: Biggest takeaways from the Sixers game to win over the
[1:18:16] Speaker 2: Celtics in Boston.
[1:18:18] Speaker 1: Energy.
[1:18:20] Speaker 3: Energy.
[1:18:21] Speaker 1: Energy.
[1:18:22] Speaker 4: That's definitely the difference that I've seen. Maxie came out
[1:18:25] Speaker 4: with energy.
[1:18:27] Speaker 8: I mean, especially from game one, I think the Celtics
[1:18:29] Speaker 8: set the tone early with shot making and their defensive stops,
[1:18:35] Speaker 8: being able to get the ball off the rim and
[1:18:37] Speaker 8: get it out early. But I think Maxie's seen film.
[1:18:41] Speaker 8: I think he said with Vijay, they all came to
[1:18:43] Speaker 8: the conclusion that they needed to play faster. They needed
[1:18:46] Speaker 8: to get off the ball and get to the rim
[1:18:48] Speaker 8: quicker and shoot the shots. believe in the shots and
[1:18:51] Speaker 8: I think that that's what you've seen in Vijay he
[1:18:53] Speaker 8: was really shooting comfortably if those shots don't go down
[1:18:58] Speaker 8: it's a different game but when you talk about confidence
[1:19:01] Speaker 8: with guys who can score the last thing you want
[1:19:04] Speaker 8: to do is give them two guys confidence you want
[1:19:07] Speaker 8: to at least leave it to paul george and kelly
[1:19:11] Speaker 8: ubre to have them be the streaky guys that win
[1:19:13] Speaker 8: the game for you when you got those two guys
[1:19:16] Speaker 8: out there playing at that level is difficult because you
[1:19:20] Speaker 8: don't have jason tatum stepping up to be a stopper
[1:19:23] Speaker 8: and you only got jaylen brown he got to pick
[1:19:25] Speaker 8: and choose his battles because he don't have derrick white
[1:19:28] Speaker 8: don't want to challenge and i'm going to say that
[1:19:30] Speaker 8: for sure derrick white looked like he's scared as fuck
[1:19:33] Speaker 8: he don't want neither one of them on either one
[1:19:35] Speaker 8: of the sides Jalen Brown is going to have to
[1:19:37] Speaker 8: figure out which one is more important to stop. Pick
[1:19:41] Speaker 8: and rolls, they're going to have to figure out whether
[1:19:43] Speaker 8: to blitz that or make him come off the ball
[1:19:46] Speaker 8: because he's shooting those three-pointers coming off that pick and roll.
[1:19:48] Speaker 8: That's deadly. He's being able to catch Vijay on the side.
[1:19:53] Speaker 8: Kelly hasn't really caught fire yet. I still think he
[1:19:56] Speaker 8: has a couple games that he's going to catch fire.
[1:19:58] Speaker 8: This could be trouble for the Celtics for sure. This
[1:20:00] Speaker 8: doesn't look like a cakewalk as they thought it was
[1:20:04] Speaker 8: after game one. I think This is a big statement
[1:20:07] Speaker 8: game for the Sixers in game two, going into game three,
[1:20:12] Speaker 8: back to Philly.
[1:20:14] Speaker 4: Like you said about Portland being loud, Philly going to
[1:20:18] Speaker 4: be loud. Philly going to be loud as hell. And
[1:20:23] Speaker 4: let's hope Joel Embiid ain't going to be healthy for
[1:20:27] Speaker 4: that game.
[1:20:28] Speaker 2: You hope Joel Embiid will not be healthy. Obviously, he
[1:20:30] Speaker 2: had an appendectomy, still recovering from that surgery. You're saying
[1:20:33] Speaker 2: the Sixers don't need The former MVP?
[1:20:36] Speaker 8: Not at the moment. Let's hope that they can hold
[1:20:38] Speaker 8: him off. So, I mean, I still look at him.
[1:20:40] Speaker 8: He can still be somebody to return and still give
[1:20:43] Speaker 8: him hope. But it's trouble in paradise right now for
[1:20:49] Speaker 8: the green. So they need to get their shit together.
[1:20:52] Speaker 2: Do you agree with Rashad that there's trouble for the
[1:20:57] Speaker 2: Celtics right now after that 32-point game, one win? We
[1:21:00] Speaker 2: thought this was going to be a cakewalk for them. Obviously,
[1:21:02] Speaker 2: Sixers backcourt had other plans. Yeah, I thought they would
[1:21:05] Speaker 2: at least take care of home, for sure. But you
[1:21:10] Speaker 2: got to give, you got to tilt your hat to
[1:21:15] Speaker 2: Philly for responding after game one.
[1:21:20] Speaker 5: Came out and looked at yourself in the mirror and
[1:21:22] Speaker 5: realized what happened. They got punched in the mouth in
[1:21:24] Speaker 5: game one and came back and responded. We all thought
[1:21:29] Speaker 5: that Boston would have their way with Philly without knowing
[1:21:34] Speaker 5: B there. But they had something different to say. And
[1:21:39] Speaker 5: that's to Rashad's point. Yeah, they went out and they
[1:21:42] Speaker 5: were just attacking. They were going downhill, reckless abandon, fearless.
[1:21:50] Speaker 5: There's no shot blockers. So, yeah, no, they realized that
[1:21:55] Speaker 5: we have a foot speed advantage on these guys, so
[1:21:57] Speaker 5: we need to use it. And that's what I saw
[1:21:59] Speaker 5: a lot of. Tyrese getting to his spots, Vijay getting
[1:22:03] Speaker 5: to his spots. Yeah, just being aggressive and effective, man.
[1:22:09] Speaker 5: Going home, we'll see how, to Rashad's point, Philly fans respond.
[1:22:17] Speaker 5: We know how they can be, right? So, no, it's
[1:22:23] Speaker 5: a series now. We didn't think that it would be,
[1:22:25] Speaker 5: but it's a series now, and.
[1:22:28] Speaker 5: See how long it goes. But, yeah, I want to
[1:22:30] Speaker 5: see how Boston responds. I want to see how they
[1:22:33] Speaker 5: respond to this going to Philly, right?
[1:22:37] Speaker 1: Let's shift over to you, to Mr. B. Yeah.
[1:22:40] Speaker 2: Representing Tough Crowd, Tough Crowd University. Hard-carrying country club member also.
[1:22:46] Speaker 7: I'm not going to take too much from this game
[1:22:48] Speaker 7: because Boston shot terribly from the three. I think they
[1:22:52] Speaker 7: went 13 for 50, and this is like the second
[1:22:55] Speaker 7: time they've done this in the playoffs where they shot themselves.
[1:22:57] Speaker 3: Out the game.
[1:22:58] Speaker 7: But shout out to Vijay for having an incredible game,
[1:23:02] Speaker 7: especially for a young rookie coming in, especially in the playoffs.
[1:23:06] Speaker 7: But I just think, you know, Boston just took their
[1:23:08] Speaker 7: foot off the gas a little bit. I'm not going
[1:23:10] Speaker 7: to put too much on it. Yes, their backcourt played
[1:23:12] Speaker 7: great with Maxie and Vijay. But I mean, this is
[1:23:16] Speaker 7: a Boston team that's been in every situation. They live
[1:23:19] Speaker 7: and die by the three. So they're going to shoot
[1:23:21] Speaker 7: a lot of threes and a lot of games is
[1:23:22] Speaker 7: going to cost them.
[1:23:23] Speaker 1: But.
[1:23:24] Speaker 3: I'm not going to put too much in it.
[1:23:26] Speaker 7: I think Boston gets this series done in five, and
[1:23:28] Speaker 7: they just run through it. Because Jalen Brown, he's going to– and,
[1:23:32] Speaker 7: you know, they'll adjust. I mean, that's one thing I've seen,
[1:23:34] Speaker 7: and I've seen Boston play this year. And one thing
[1:23:37] Speaker 7: they do, they lock in. So I'm not worried too
[1:23:40] Speaker 7: much about them.
[1:23:42] Speaker 6: And I am with the tough crowd. And I may
[1:23:46] Speaker 6: wind up in Larry's cemetery sooner than later, but I'm
[1:23:50] Speaker 6: with you. I think that was a fluke and an aberration.
[1:23:56] Speaker 6: And Boston will win the next two games at Philly,
[1:24:00] Speaker 6: and they're going to win this in five because they're
[1:24:02] Speaker 6: just way better than Philly is. And to your point,
[1:24:08] Speaker 6: they tried this year to less live and die by
[1:24:12] Speaker 6: the three because they cut it back from a year
[1:24:14] Speaker 6: ago they were 48 threes a game. This year, they
[1:24:17] Speaker 6: cut it to 42. And then last night, when I
[1:24:20] Speaker 6: least expected it, they went all the way back up
[1:24:22] Speaker 6: to 50. And they made 13 of 50, which is 26%.
[1:24:27] Speaker 6: That means 37 times at home, they missed three-point shots.
[1:24:33] Speaker 6: And the one thing about the three, to me, is
[1:24:37] Speaker 6: it can ignite a home crowd. It can also deflate
[1:24:40] Speaker 6: a home crowd, where after a while, if you miss
[1:24:42] Speaker 6: 37 of them, after a while, people are like, Another?
[1:24:48] Speaker 6: Come on. Somebody make one?
[1:24:50] Speaker 4: Live by the three, die by the three.
[1:24:52] Speaker 6: Okay, well, that's what happened. They died by it last
[1:24:55] Speaker 6: night because Philly was making 19 of 39. That's 49%.
[1:24:57] Speaker 6: And as you guys point out, or I think Josiah
[1:24:59] Speaker 6: pointed out, four of 23 in the first game. And
[1:25:02] Speaker 6: the incredible thing was, I'm watching the game. They go,
[1:25:12] Speaker 6: Boston goes on a 16 to nothing run in the
[1:25:14] Speaker 6: first quarter. And all of a sudden it's 26 to
[1:25:17] Speaker 6: 13 home team and Philly calls a timeout. And I said, damn,
[1:25:22] Speaker 6: do I have to watch this? Do I, can I,
[1:25:25] Speaker 6: can I do something else? And I'm kind of doing
[1:25:27] Speaker 6: some playing around with this and that. And I look
[1:25:30] Speaker 6: up and here comes Philly because Boston went deadly cold
[1:25:35] Speaker 6: from three and And yet they kind of scratched and
[1:25:41] Speaker 6: clawed back into it. And then I look up and
[1:25:43] Speaker 6: all of a sudden it's 91-89 Philly with 625 left.
[1:25:48] Speaker 6: And Maxey missed a shot. And Jason Tatum comes down
[1:25:52] Speaker 6: and has a wide open three to put them ahead
[1:25:54] Speaker 6: with five minutes left. And he missed it. And Tyrese
[1:25:58] Speaker 6: Maxey goes down. You just showed the highlights. And goes
[1:26:01] Speaker 6: boom and boom. And makes two straight threes. And then
[1:26:03] Speaker 6: Edgecombe makes another three. And And then Oubre makes another three,
[1:26:08] Speaker 6: and it's way over. And Tyrese Maxey, to me, as
[1:26:13] Speaker 6: the 21st overall pick, is he not one of the
[1:26:16] Speaker 6: all-time steals at 21?
[1:26:18] Speaker 4: Amazing.
[1:26:18] Speaker 1: God. Amazing.
[1:26:20] Speaker 6: He's just amazing.
[1:26:21] Speaker 4: What were you looking at when you were watching?
[1:26:23] Speaker 6: I don't know, because he's just little. You know, like
[1:26:27] Speaker 6: he's like Iverson's size.
[1:26:29] Speaker 1: Spark plug, though.
[1:26:30] Speaker 6: Oh, you talk about extreme energy. You said that. He's
[1:26:35] Speaker 6: their igniter. And when he plays with that kind of
[1:26:38] Speaker 6: energy from end to end and just makes stuff happen,
[1:26:41] Speaker 6: that was his night. And Edgecombe plays like he's 30
[1:26:45] Speaker 6: years old. You know, he's not a baby.
[1:26:47] Speaker 8: I got to ask, you know, is it more that
[1:26:55] Speaker 8: we can defend the three or is it that we're
[1:26:59] Speaker 8: just missing shots? So I'm asking from Boston's standpoint.
[1:27:04] Speaker 1: All right.
[1:27:05] Speaker 8: We're used to taking this many threes. We live by
[1:27:08] Speaker 8: the three, die by the three. But were they guarding
[1:27:11] Speaker 8: the three better in this game for us to miss
[1:27:14] Speaker 8: these threes? Or are we taking the bad three-point shots
[1:27:18] Speaker 8: that are allowing them back in the game? This is
[1:27:21] Speaker 8: like a second-chance point for me. If you take a
[1:27:23] Speaker 8: bad three-point shot, we come down, we get a rebound.
[1:27:26] Speaker 1: Right.
[1:27:26] Speaker 4: That's like the turnover to me. That's not an execution play.
[1:27:30] Speaker 4: That's a play that you're just giving us based on
[1:27:32] Speaker 4: you feeling like you want to shoot a three.
[1:27:33] Speaker 1: Yeah.
[1:27:34] Speaker 8: And I think that that's always been Joe Mazzulla's mindset.
[1:27:38] Speaker 8: But it's been flawed to me because you can– that's
[1:27:41] Speaker 8: just like the Phoenix Suns back in the day with
[1:27:44] Speaker 8: Steve Nash and those guys, live by the three, die
[1:27:45] Speaker 8: by the three. So you look at Philly and you're
[1:27:49] Speaker 8: saying if I'm in the huddle, I'm like, hey, man,
[1:27:52] Speaker 8: let's just put a hand up on these threes.
[1:27:55] Speaker 4: Let's make sure we're there. We'll live with it.
[1:27:58] Speaker 1: Okay.
[1:27:59] Speaker 6: Because Boston doesn't defend the three at a high level.
[1:28:03] Speaker 6: And that's why Vijay said after the game, baby that
[1:28:05] Speaker 6: he is, he just said, we knew we'd have the shots.
[1:28:09] Speaker 6: We knew we could get the shots. We just have
[1:28:11] Speaker 6: to make the shots.
[1:28:12] Speaker 5: Boston packed the.
[1:28:13] Speaker 1: Paint, man.
[1:28:14] Speaker 5: They tried to protect.
[1:28:17] Speaker 1: The rim.
[1:28:17] Speaker 8: So their game plan is giving up the three. We're
[1:28:20] Speaker 8: going to make more than y'all. And y'all got to
[1:28:24] Speaker 8: hit shots to beat us.
[1:28:25] Speaker 1: That's what I said.
[1:28:26] Speaker 3: That's why I think game two was a fluke.
[1:28:28] Speaker 7: Because they hit shots. Now you've got to go back
[1:28:30] Speaker 7: and hit the same. Listen, Boston's not going to stop
[1:28:32] Speaker 7: shooting threes. But we're not changing our game plan. We
[1:28:35] Speaker 7: actually have shot makers, though.
[1:28:37] Speaker 1: Philly?
[1:28:38] Speaker 8: For Philly, we got guys that can hit shots.
[1:28:40] Speaker 1: If you're giving us.
[1:28:42] Speaker 7: Yeah, but you got to match it. Remember, we shooting
[1:28:44] Speaker 7: over 50. We shooting over 50 some threes. So if
[1:28:47] Speaker 7: we make half these, you still got to make half. Yeah,
[1:28:51] Speaker 7: we're going to give you your shots. But remember, this
[1:28:53] Speaker 7: is what we do. This is how we want a championship.
[1:28:56] Speaker 7: So we're not going to go against.
[1:28:57] Speaker 4: That was a difference maker.
[1:28:59] Speaker 8: Difference maker is we– if we hitting shots as Philly,
[1:29:02] Speaker 8: we got a chance. If we not hitting shots, we
[1:29:05] Speaker 8: down 20 for sure. But I think also the advantage
[1:29:10] Speaker 8: was taking advantage of Pritchard and Derek White on the
[1:29:14] Speaker 8: defensive end, taking them out of.
[1:29:16] Speaker 4: The game offensively. They wasn't even factors. Hauser wasn't a factor.
[1:29:21] Speaker 6: He was not.
[1:29:21] Speaker 8: If you guys aren't getting shots, which to me game
[1:29:24] Speaker 8: plan wise, if I'm Nick Nurse– hey, Jalen and Jason Tatum,
[1:29:29] Speaker 8: let them do them. They're not going to be finding
[1:29:31] Speaker 8: these shooters to do what they need to do to
[1:29:34] Speaker 8: take them over the top.
[1:29:35] Speaker 1: Yeah.
[1:29:36] Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean, they're 2 for 8, 0 for 4.
[1:29:39] Speaker 1: Yeah.
[1:29:39] Speaker 6: The biggest igniter for them at home is Peyton Pritchard,
[1:29:43] Speaker 6: the sixth man of the year a year ago. And
[1:29:46] Speaker 6: that crowd waits for him to make one from, like,
[1:29:49] Speaker 6: half court. You know, like, that's who he is. And
[1:29:53] Speaker 6: he usually makes 4 or 5 at home, and he
[1:29:56] Speaker 6: went 0 for 4. You got a shot. Now the
[1:30:00] Speaker 6: door is open. And if Derek White goes two of ten,
[1:30:05] Speaker 6: now you really got a chance.
[1:30:10] Speaker 3: He's shooting. He still shoots. He shoots a lot of threes.
[1:30:15] Speaker 3: He has the green light.
[1:30:16] Speaker 5: That's all he shoots.
[1:30:18] Speaker 8: The real question now is is Mr. Vukovic going to
[1:30:25] Speaker 8: show up? Yeah, he will. That's going to be the
[1:30:28] Speaker 8: difference maker. I think that's been the difference maker as
[1:30:31] Speaker 8: far as waiting for somebody to come back before they
[1:30:33] Speaker 8: can be a bona fide top contender. I don't think
[1:30:38] Speaker 8: he's shown yet where his place is amongst those two
[1:30:43] Speaker 8: great players. And you can't have Derek White and Hauser
[1:30:49] Speaker 8: and Pritchard under 10 points.
[1:30:51] Speaker 1: Nope. But it happens, though.
[1:30:53] Speaker 3: I'm telling you, Boston has these games in the playoffs.
[1:30:55] Speaker 4: They've had them.
[1:30:55] Speaker 3: We've seen it.
[1:30:56] Speaker 5: But you can take them out of the game, though.
[1:30:59] Speaker 1: We've seen them have these games.
[1:31:00] Speaker 4: Them three?
[1:31:02] Speaker 5: You get to them, you can test them. I want
[1:31:05] Speaker 5: Peyton Pitcher putting the ball on the floor.
[1:31:07] Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
[1:31:07] Speaker 4: Take them off the line.
[1:31:08] Speaker 5: I want Hazard putting the ball on the floor. I
[1:31:10] Speaker 5: want Derek White putting the ball on the floor.
[1:31:12] Speaker 1: I can.
[1:31:13] Speaker 4: So as a unit, that's our game plan.
[1:31:16] Speaker 1: It should be.
[1:31:17] Speaker 4: Run it off the line. Face them into the paint.
[1:31:19] Speaker 5: That's what I would say. We know how they play
[1:31:23] Speaker 5: with Peyton Pritchard and get to going. We know how
[1:31:25] Speaker 5: they are when Sam Howes is making shots. We know this.
[1:31:29] Speaker 4: Do we need more from JT?
[1:31:31] Speaker 5: What did he just say? He almost had a triple-double.
[1:31:33] Speaker 1: 19.
[1:31:33] Speaker 6: No.
[1:31:33] Speaker 4: He almost had a triple-double.
[1:31:35] Speaker 5: 36 and 19 between the two.
[1:31:36] Speaker 4: Almost a triple-double with the other ones.
[1:31:37] Speaker 5: That's fine.
[1:31:37] Speaker 1: Jalen was 36, 74.
[1:31:38] Speaker 5: JT is the reason why.
[1:31:39] Speaker 1: They're going to go up.
[1:31:49] Speaker 7: They're going to win the next four.
[1:31:52] Speaker 1: I've seen this. They're about to get the Philly in.
[1:31:54] Speaker 7: Because they fans is worse than Phillies.
[1:31:58] Speaker 1: This ain't nothing.
[1:31:59] Speaker 4: If it's everybody else, isn't that our game plan?
[1:32:03] Speaker 1: Yes.
[1:32:03] Speaker 4: To make it.
[1:32:04] Speaker 1: Just y'all two? Yes. The Jays. Them two are really good.
[1:32:10] Speaker 5: We can turn the rest of y'all water on, but
[1:32:11] Speaker 5: them two guys, they can get their own shot. The
[1:32:13] Speaker 5: rest of y'all can't.
[1:32:14] Speaker 1: Yeah.
[1:32:15] Speaker 4: And we still make it. I think they still made
[1:32:16] Speaker 4: it tough for both of them.
[1:32:17] Speaker 5: Yeah, but if Jalen drives, if Jalen Brown drives, we're
[1:32:21] Speaker 5: not going to overreact, right? You guys don't let him
[1:32:25] Speaker 5: straight line. No straight line drive, so we ain't got
[1:32:27] Speaker 5: to react right away. Make them make a couple moves
[1:32:30] Speaker 5: off the bounce. Stay home. Contest shots.
[1:32:32] Speaker 4: Stay home.
[1:32:33] Speaker 5: Run Pritchard off the line. Run Howes off the line
[1:32:35] Speaker 5: as much as we can. Contest it. If you're late,
[1:32:37] Speaker 5: make sure you get a hand up.
[1:32:38] Speaker 1: Yep.
[1:32:39] Speaker 5: It's all those little things, man.
[1:32:40] Speaker 4: Pre-rotate type shit. Get to the shooters.
[1:32:43] Speaker 5: Know who the shooters are first and foremost.
[1:32:45] Speaker 4: Know who the shooters are. Know where they are.
[1:32:47] Speaker 6: So, Rashad, speaking to the jersey you're wearing, the last
[1:32:50] Speaker 6: time Philly beat Boston in a playoff series was 1982. Shit.
[1:32:53] Speaker 6: A great year.
[1:32:56] Speaker 1: 1982.
[1:32:56] Speaker 6: Might have been 1982. So it's been six straight playoff
[1:32:59] Speaker 6: series won by Boston over Philadelphia. I think they got
[1:33:04] Speaker 6: Philly's number.
[1:33:07] Speaker 1: I think so, just historically. Well, Humphrey Philly's saying that's
[1:33:10] Speaker 1: the wrong number. Just historically. That jersey right there, he know.
[1:33:14] Speaker 1: He got in the fight. Hey, listen, man. Something in
[1:33:18] Speaker 1: the water with these first rounds. Something in the water.
[1:33:22] Speaker 4: I think the Hawks got some shit to say over
[1:33:24] Speaker 4: there in New York.
[1:33:25] Speaker 1: No, you know the NBA like to make it.
[1:33:27] Speaker 3: You know, we got to make it look interesting.
[1:33:28] Speaker 1: It's the way it look, though.
[1:33:30] Speaker 8: Like, sometimes you get a couple wins and they just like,
[1:33:32] Speaker 8: all right, we knew they was going to get that.
[1:33:34] Speaker 5: I just don't think there's no separation in teams. I
[1:33:39] Speaker 5: don't think there– you got a couple really good teams,
[1:33:42] Speaker 5: and I think everybody else is right in this mesh.
[1:33:44] Speaker 1: Solid?
[1:33:45] Speaker 5: Solid teams, but you got a couple really good teams, right?
[1:33:50] Speaker 5: But the rest of the people is like, I think
[1:33:54] Speaker 5: I can beat you on any given night.
[1:33:55] Speaker 1: That's what I'm– yeah, I'm getting at that.
[1:33:57] Speaker 5: On any given night, I feel like I can beat you.
[1:33:59] Speaker 4: I can take it.
[1:33:59] Speaker 5: I can beat you on any given night.
[1:34:00] Speaker 1: That's what I'm saying about the magic.
[1:34:01] Speaker 5: In this playoff series, each game is different. I think
[1:34:07] Speaker 5: I can beat you four times.
[1:34:09] Speaker 1: I can stay in this game.
[1:34:10] Speaker 5: I think I can beat you four times.
[1:34:12] Speaker 4: Once I get one, I feel like if we stay
[1:34:16] Speaker 4: in the game.
[1:34:16] Speaker 1: To the fourth quarter. It's down to three.
[1:34:21] Speaker 4: Don't let me get two on you. I'm really feeling
[1:34:25] Speaker 4: different at that point.
[1:34:26] Speaker 5: Win one on your floor.
[1:34:26] Speaker 1: What? Still one.
[1:34:28] Speaker 5: Win one on your floor, I feel great about myself.
[1:34:31] Speaker 4: That's the scary part about the Spurs and the Blazers.
[1:34:34] Speaker 1: Still one. Oh, that's nasty. Hawks, still one. Ooh, that's nasty. Magic,
[1:34:39] Speaker 1: still one. Hey, man, y'all got to come play now.
[1:34:43] Speaker 5: You definitely do.
[1:34:44] Speaker 2: Shia, you mentioned the Hawks, so let's talk a little
[1:34:45] Speaker 2: bit about that game that went down Monday. Knicks tricked
[1:34:49] Speaker 2: off a golden opportunity to take a 2-0 lead in
[1:34:52] Speaker 2: their series against the Hawks. Entering this game, the Knicks
[1:34:55] Speaker 2: were 64-1 when holding a double-digit lead entering the fourth
[1:34:58] Speaker 2: quarter in the postseason.
[1:34:59] Speaker 1: New York was up.
[1:35:01] Speaker 2: By as much as 14 in that final frame, but
[1:35:02] Speaker 2: then the Hawks started to soar. Let's take a look
[1:35:05] Speaker 2: at those fourth quarter highlights if we can, please. Like
[1:35:08] Speaker 2: I said, Nick's up by eight, under five minutes remaining,
[1:35:12] Speaker 2: but Atlanta caught fire going on an 11-0 run. In
[1:35:17] Speaker 2: that stretch. Taking a three-point lead. With 1.33 remaining in
[1:35:23] Speaker 2: the game, Jalen Johnson doing his thing.
[1:35:24] Speaker 1: C.J. McCollum. Wanting smoke with Jalen Brunson. Looking for that
[1:35:29] Speaker 1: one-on-one matchup. Oh, boy. Have mercy. Did I do that?
[1:35:32] Speaker 1: Did I do that?
[1:35:34] Speaker 5: With the kiss.
[1:35:35] Speaker 1: Let me show you who.
[1:35:38] Speaker 2: McComb put him up three with a minute 33 remaining.
[1:35:40] Speaker 2: Jalen Brunson responded. Three of his own to tie things up.
[1:35:43] Speaker 4: But.
[1:35:43] Speaker 1: Hold that.
[1:35:45] Speaker 2: Put that in your pipe. DJ with the fadeaway. In
[1:35:49] Speaker 2: the garden. Over OJ and Anobi. On the Knicks next possession,
[1:35:53] Speaker 2: Brunson got stripped. By Nikhil Alexander-Walker. Found Jalen Johnson for
[1:35:58] Speaker 2: the dunk. To put the Hawks back up for it
[1:36:00] Speaker 2: with 10 seconds left. But Jalen Brunson. Tried to put
[1:36:03] Speaker 2: the team on his back. Closing the gap to one.
[1:36:06] Speaker 2: CJ McCollum missed two straight free throws. But the Knicks
[1:36:09] Speaker 2: did not have a timeout. Mike Brown had called one
[1:36:11] Speaker 2: with like 240. Left to go in that fourth quarter.
[1:36:15] Speaker 2: So they had to get it up the court. Mikael
[1:36:16] Speaker 2: Bridges missed a 12-footer. They get the win.
[1:36:20] Speaker 1: C.J.
[1:36:20] Speaker 2: McCollum led the Hawks with 32 points, six dimes. Jalen
[1:36:23] Speaker 2: Johnson had 17 and eight boards. Jonathan Kaminga playing in
[1:36:27] Speaker 2: the playoffs.
[1:36:28] Speaker 1: His former team is not.
[1:36:29] Speaker 2: Added 19 points on 7 of 12 shooting and 35
[1:36:32] Speaker 2: minutes off the bench, along with two steals. Knicks had
[1:36:35] Speaker 2: six players in double figures, led by Brunson. He had
[1:36:37] Speaker 2: 29 of seven assists, but was 10 of 26 from
[1:36:40] Speaker 2: the field. Cat added 18 and eight. Josh Hart had
[1:36:42] Speaker 2: 15 and 13 boards.
[1:36:44] Speaker 1: C.J. McCollum, the story of this game.
[1:36:46] Speaker 2: It's not the first time a Hawks guard has rolled
[1:36:48] Speaker 2: into Madison Square Garden and cooked the Knicks. So after
[1:36:51] Speaker 2: McCollum and his former Pelicans teammate Jose Alvarado got into
[1:36:54] Speaker 2: it in the third quarter and were both given texts,
[1:36:57] Speaker 2: Knicks fans gave CJ the Trae Young treatment, complete with
[1:37:00] Speaker 2: an expletive-filled chant. McCollum had this to say about the
[1:37:03] Speaker 2: Knicks fans chanting at him during the game.
[1:37:06] Speaker 6: I am no villain.
[1:37:06] Speaker 3: I'm a nice guy with two kids and a wife.
[1:37:09] Speaker 6: I think it's admiration. Great, passionate fans in the really
[1:37:15] Speaker 6: hostile environment.
[1:37:17] Speaker 1: It's fun.
[1:37:17] Speaker 5: It's basketball.
[1:37:18] Speaker 3: It's the playoffs. If anything, I think it's a sign
[1:37:21] Speaker 3: of respect.
[1:37:23] Speaker 1: Skip, we will start with you, sir. What did C.J.
[1:37:26] Speaker 2: McCollum and the Hawks show you in their Game 2
[1:37:29] Speaker 2: win over the Knicks?
[1:37:33] Speaker 6: I often hear from various people on this couch about
[1:37:38] Speaker 6: the Clippers. Clippers are going to Clipper. And I would
[1:37:42] Speaker 6: say the same thing about the Knicks, that the Knicks
[1:37:46] Speaker 6: are going to Nick. They're just going to Nick when
[1:37:49] Speaker 6: you least expect it.
[1:37:50] Speaker 1: Oh, you can say the Knicks are going to Nicker.
[1:37:52] Speaker 1: You can just say that. No. Knickerbocker, please. The Knicks
[1:37:57] Speaker 1: are going to Nicker, boy.
[1:37:59] Speaker 4: Well, you knickers out there, y'all going to do knickers.
[1:38:03] Speaker 1: Skip, again, we are on the dark side of YouTube.
[1:38:05] Speaker 6: Yes, we are.
[1:38:06] Speaker 1: It's the pronunciation of it. It's the pronunciation of it.
[1:38:09] Speaker 4: I'm going to say it for you, though, because I'm
[1:38:11] Speaker 4: fucking kidding.
[1:38:12] Speaker 3: All right.
[1:38:14] Speaker 5: Awesome.
[1:38:14] Speaker 1: Improv to smoke.
[1:38:16] Speaker 6: There you go.
[1:38:17] Speaker 1: He is risen.
[1:38:19] Speaker 6: So, to the point of your stats, 64-1 with a
[1:38:22] Speaker 6: 13 or more point lead going to the.
[1:38:26] Speaker 5: Fourth.
[1:38:27] Speaker 6: Remember what the one was? It was Reggie scored 25
[1:38:30] Speaker 6: in the fourth and 94 in that game five. So
[1:38:35] Speaker 6: here they went again. And I know Mike Brown's taking
[1:38:38] Speaker 6: a lot of heat for burning that time out a
[1:38:40] Speaker 6: little prematurely. And I got that, but you get outscored
[1:38:45] Speaker 6: at home in the fourth quarter, 28 to 15. It's
[1:38:46] Speaker 6: just wrong. And, Jalen was okay. You can't blame Jalen.
[1:38:52] Speaker 6: He did make that one big clutch three that kept
[1:38:55] Speaker 6: him in it. But Carl Anthony in the fourth goes
[1:38:58] Speaker 6: 0 for 2. Jordan Clarkson goes 1 for 4. And
[1:39:02] Speaker 6: then Bridges is 0 for 3, including... He had a
[1:39:06] Speaker 6: nice look at the end to walk it off 14
[1:39:10] Speaker 6: feet and missed it. And the Hawks are good, man.
[1:39:16] Speaker 6: But as Kenyon just said, there are a lot of
[1:39:19] Speaker 6: you know, sort of pretty goods out there, and they're
[1:39:21] Speaker 6: pretty good. And they're much better without Trey Young, who
[1:39:26] Speaker 6: to me is like a miniature Luka. He's just, I
[1:39:29] Speaker 6: know they were traded for each other, but he's just
[1:39:31] Speaker 6: like a miniature Luka who plays no defense, liability, and
[1:39:35] Speaker 6: takes too many threes and leads the league in turnovers.
[1:39:39] Speaker 6: And they just look like a better basketball team with C.J.,
[1:39:44] Speaker 6: as their Drew Holiday, you know, who came in and
[1:39:47] Speaker 6: sort of solidified it for them. And at 34, after,
[1:39:52] Speaker 6: what's he played, 13 seasons, man, he went Jordan at
[1:39:56] Speaker 6: the Garden down the stretch and made three tough shots,
[1:40:01] Speaker 6: big shots, and then, incredibly, he misses two free throws
[1:40:05] Speaker 6: with five seconds left. I thought that he'd just reopen
[1:40:08] Speaker 6: the door, but the Knicks couldn't walk through it.
[1:40:12] Speaker 1: So.
[1:40:12] Speaker 6: It didn't surprise me. I know we had my man
[1:40:15] Speaker 6: Stephen A on at the Super Bowl on Arena Gridiron,
[1:40:18] Speaker 6: and he and I got into it about the Knicks.
[1:40:20] Speaker 6: And I just said, they'll just blow it on schedule.
[1:40:24] Speaker 6: He said, no, this is the year. We're different this year.
[1:40:26] Speaker 6: And I said, no, you're not different. You're still the Knicks.
[1:40:31] Speaker 6: And here they come. And can they get by Atlanta?
[1:40:36] Speaker 6: I still give them a pretty good shot to get
[1:40:38] Speaker 6: by Atlanta, but it's going to be a battle. It's
[1:40:40] Speaker 6: going to be a seven-game battle. And then they're going
[1:40:44] Speaker 6: to run into the Celtics and they're going to go home.
[1:40:47] Speaker 6: That's what's going to happen.
[1:40:51] Speaker 1: Okay, your former team. Yeah. The New York Knicks.
[1:40:57] Speaker 5: Yeah, one of them.
[1:40:58] Speaker 1: We're the New York Knicks. Suck our New York, you
[1:41:01] Speaker 1: can fill in the rest.
[1:41:02] Speaker 2: But if you think about the Hawks coming in, Madison Square,
[1:41:05] Speaker 2: game two, CJ McCollum, 32-piece. One in that one-on-one matchup
[1:41:09] Speaker 2: with Jalen Brunson and Mike Brown.
[1:41:12] Speaker 5: Some questionable... lineups in that game. Yeah, but hey. It's
[1:41:21] Speaker 5: the playoffs, man. You got to expect anything, for one. Yeah,
[1:41:27] Speaker 5: I just don't trust the Knicks. Didn't all season. But
[1:41:34] Speaker 5: at one point, like, so Carl Anthony Townsend is the
[1:41:38] Speaker 5: second best player. Do we agree? And he gets two
[1:41:42] Speaker 5: shots in the fourth quarter?
[1:41:43] Speaker 3: Yep, started the game eight for ten.
[1:41:46] Speaker 5: And that comes down to coaching and game planning and
[1:41:48] Speaker 5: different things like that, right? There is no way feasible
[1:41:51] Speaker 5: that my second best player is getting two shots in
[1:41:54] Speaker 5: a fourth quarter where the game is decided at, down
[1:41:57] Speaker 5: the stretch where he's playing big minutes. Now, I'm going
[1:41:59] Speaker 5: to make sure that he get a touch. I'm going
[1:42:01] Speaker 5: to make sure that he get multiple touches.
[1:42:03] Speaker 6: Did he not want a touch?
[1:42:05] Speaker 5: But that's what we'll find out, right? But the way
[1:42:09] Speaker 5: the game is played, it's easy to get lost in
[1:42:12] Speaker 5: the game to where everybody's playing on the perimeter and
[1:42:15] Speaker 5: guys are rotating and he's in a pick and roll.
[1:42:18] Speaker 5: He popped, they rotate to him. He don't want to
[1:42:20] Speaker 5: force it. And I get that. So, therefore, I got
[1:42:23] Speaker 5: to run a play for him. I got to run
[1:42:25] Speaker 5: a set for him. I got to run a way
[1:42:26] Speaker 5: to get him a touch. They just stood out to
[1:42:30] Speaker 5: me that he only got two shots. But you got
[1:42:34] Speaker 5: to give credit to Atlanta coming in there and competing.
[1:42:39] Speaker 5: when no one really gave them a shot. And, yeah,
[1:42:45] Speaker 5: just going out, man, and recognizing matchups. Old school way
[1:42:49] Speaker 5: of doing things. You have a defensive liability out there.
[1:42:52] Speaker 5: They're trying to exploit it in Jalen Brunson. And we
[1:42:56] Speaker 5: all know CJ can put the ball in the basket
[1:42:58] Speaker 5: with the best of them. I think having him there
[1:43:02] Speaker 5: with those young guys is a breath of fresh air
[1:43:05] Speaker 5: for Quinn Snyder. Having a guy like that he can
[1:43:10] Speaker 5: lean on in clutch times and having Kaminga there, energetic,
[1:43:16] Speaker 5: having something to prove, I think helps. It's going to
[1:43:20] Speaker 5: be a good series, long series. Don't know. I don't
[1:43:24] Speaker 5: have a favorite in this series, but I don't. I
[1:43:27] Speaker 5: could see it going six. I could see it going
[1:43:29] Speaker 5: seven either way. That part, Joe. Yeah, I could see
[1:43:34] Speaker 5: the team pulling it off, but I'm not. Hell bent
[1:43:37] Speaker 5: on the Knicks getting through Atlanta. I ain't going to
[1:43:40] Speaker 5: say Atlanta's going to beat them, but getting a road
[1:43:44] Speaker 5: win in a playoff series when some thought that you
[1:43:47] Speaker 5: might have gotten swept is a huge deal, especially going home, man.
[1:43:53] Speaker 5: Great confidence booster for the Atlanta Hawks. Hmm.
[1:43:59] Speaker 8: I think I said they was cooked ever since that
[1:44:01] Speaker 8: boy put his finger in that boy's sandbox.
[1:44:05] Speaker 1: Yeah.
[1:44:06] Speaker 4: They've been cooked ever since.
[1:44:07] Speaker 1: Since you checked that man oil.
[1:44:09] Speaker 4: Checked that man oil.
[1:44:11] Speaker 5: Yeah, you said that season was over.
[1:44:13] Speaker 8: Let that car go right through the trenches. They went
[1:44:15] Speaker 8: right through the operating system, man. To me, I think
[1:44:20] Speaker 8: they cook for two particular reasons. One, Jalen Brunson's ineffectiveness
[1:44:25] Speaker 8: to recognize timing score at the point guard position to
[1:44:30] Speaker 8: see who needs the ball in what positions.
[1:44:33] Speaker 1: I think he gets.
[1:44:34] Speaker 8: tunnel vision when it becomes crunch time that he only
[1:44:38] Speaker 8: sees his shot as the shot he wants the ball
[1:44:42] Speaker 8: and pick and roll so he can make the play
[1:44:44] Speaker 8: and I think that's where it leaves Cat on the
[1:44:47] Speaker 8: island now not only did he not only did he
[1:44:52] Speaker 8: do what he did as far as the second half
[1:44:54] Speaker 8: you know those two shots he had no free throws
[1:44:58] Speaker 8: whole game now this shows just ineffectiveness of being aggressive
[1:45:03] Speaker 8: I think For a guy like Cat just going to
[1:45:05] Speaker 8: get positioned, you don't have no defensive stoppers on that
[1:45:08] Speaker 8: block that's going to stop you from being Carl Anthony Towns.
[1:45:11] Speaker 4: That's number one.
[1:45:12] Speaker 8: I think he needs to go back to the essence
[1:45:14] Speaker 8: of what really gave him the name when he came
[1:45:17] Speaker 8: out of college. In his first two, three years in
[1:45:20] Speaker 8: the league, he was on that block. He was serving
[1:45:23] Speaker 8: cold dishes. And now it's more of if I'm not
[1:45:26] Speaker 8: getting my jump shot on, I'm not being effective. You
[1:45:31] Speaker 8: can see even with the rebound, I think he gets
[1:45:34] Speaker 8: more of his hunger for playing both sides when he
[1:45:38] Speaker 8: actually is scoring the ball. And it affects the rebound.
[1:45:42] Speaker 8: It's not really the reason why they lost. But when
[1:45:45] Speaker 8: you talk about matchups, Okonkwo versus you, 18 points. You
[1:45:52] Speaker 8: didn't dominate that matchup. McCullough took it personally. Of course,
[1:45:58] Speaker 8: you know, when you got a guy you don't think
[1:46:00] Speaker 8: can guard you, you're going to take it personal. But
[1:46:02] Speaker 8: I think it's scary for the Knicks because Nikhil Walker
[1:46:05] Speaker 8: didn't play great. Jalen Johnson didn't play great. Kaminga played good.
[1:46:11] Speaker 8: He didn't play great. I think all of them can
[1:46:13] Speaker 8: play better on the Hawks. But you look at the
[1:46:16] Speaker 8: Knicks and you say, well, who the hell on the
[1:46:18] Speaker 8: Knicks is supposed to play better for them to go
[1:46:20] Speaker 8: over the top?
[1:46:22] Speaker 4: Bridges, possibly.
[1:46:24] Speaker 8: He had 10 points. Um, Alvarado is not going to
[1:46:28] Speaker 8: be the guy who's going to step up. Jordan Clarkson
[1:46:31] Speaker 8: don't play enough minutes to step up. Mitchell Robinson does
[1:46:33] Speaker 8: Mitchell Robinson stuff.
[1:46:35] Speaker 4: So you're looking at OG or Josh Hart to be
[1:46:37] Speaker 4: your bridge guys? Nah, not a chance. Not a chance.
[1:46:42] Speaker 4: Not a chance.
[1:46:44] Speaker 8: And you know, the Knicks fans are going to feel
[1:46:46] Speaker 8: the way they feel about it, but I think they
[1:46:48] Speaker 8: see what I see when it comes down to we
[1:46:50] Speaker 8: barely lost that game, but we were still so far
[1:46:54] Speaker 8: away from actually winning it. And If you don't clean
[1:46:58] Speaker 8: up the small Mike Brown stuff, you're going to find
[1:47:01] Speaker 8: yourself down 3-1 coming back to New York.
[1:47:06] Speaker 4: And that's a nasty feeling because you don't.
[1:47:09] Speaker 8: Have a guy that don't know what to do in
[1:47:12] Speaker 8: these positions.
[1:47:14] Speaker 1: C.J.
[1:47:15] Speaker 4: McCullough knows what to do. He knows to put the
[1:47:17] Speaker 4: dagger in the coffin.
[1:47:19] Speaker 8: And I think that if you give an opportunity up 3-1, shit,
[1:47:22] Speaker 8: good luck.
[1:47:25] Speaker 3: I mean, to me, I think it's all Brunson.
[1:47:27] Speaker 7: I think they just exploded something with Brunson as far
[1:47:29] Speaker 7: as the defensive end.
[1:47:30] Speaker 3: The way C.J.
[1:47:31] Speaker 7: McCullers was going at him in the fourth quarter, making
[1:47:36] Speaker 7: him work.
[1:47:38] Speaker 3: They already said that.
[1:47:38] Speaker 7: It sounds like he went 8 for 10 and then
[1:47:40] Speaker 7: only two shots.
[1:47:41] Speaker 3: That can't happen. I know C.J.
[1:47:44] Speaker 7: McCullers don't want to be known as a villain, but
[1:47:46] Speaker 7: this is your opportunity right now to be the villain
[1:47:49] Speaker 7: and to be a villain in New York City as
[1:47:50] Speaker 7: far as basketball.
[1:47:51] Speaker 3: That means you're doing something insane.
[1:47:54] Speaker 7: Like they don't just pick on certain players because they're
[1:47:57] Speaker 7: not good it's because no you're actually doing something that
[1:48:00] Speaker 7: you know they love so you know you have a
[1:48:02] Speaker 7: you have an opportunity right now to to get them
[1:48:04] Speaker 7: up out of here become the villain of New York
[1:48:07] Speaker 7: and um and uh move forward but.
[1:48:11] Speaker 3: I don't know man I don't.
[1:48:13] Speaker 7: Know I think I think defensively man you got to
[1:48:15] Speaker 7: keep going at Brunson all game and you got to
[1:48:16] Speaker 7: go from the jump from the start.
[1:48:19] Speaker 2: So CJ McCollum was asked by a reporter if he
[1:48:22] Speaker 2: was looking for that one-on-one matchup with Jalen Brunson, had
[1:48:26] Speaker 2: this response.
[1:48:28] Speaker 3: What you think? What do you think?
[1:48:31] Speaker 1: Yeah. Yeah.
[1:48:34] Speaker 11: All right.
[1:48:36] Speaker 3: Thank you.
[1:48:36] Speaker 1: I mean, that's a villain. That's a villain. Hey, yo,
[1:48:38] Speaker 1: shout out CJ, too. He got some good wine, too,
[1:48:41] Speaker 1: by the way. He does have good wine. A fan
[1:48:43] Speaker 1: of Gil's Arena, as well. He's a villain. What do
[1:48:46] Speaker 1: you think? I'm a nice guy with two kids. Man,
[1:48:49] Speaker 1: who care about all that? Man, watch out.
[1:48:50] Speaker 7: A lot of people got kids. Who care about all that?
[1:48:53] Speaker 7: You a villain between them lines.
[1:48:55] Speaker 4: Facts.
[1:48:58] Speaker 5: Yeah, no, that's the way it used to be, man. Like,
[1:49:00] Speaker 5: I don't know, like, this new style of basketball that...
[1:49:03] Speaker 5: everybody get an opportunity and all that.
[1:49:06] Speaker 1: Like, no.
[1:49:07] Speaker 4: Come to the hot hand and get them.
[1:49:09] Speaker 5: I got the hot hand. We're going to search out
[1:49:11] Speaker 5: this matchup because the thing about it, the Knicks need
[1:49:16] Speaker 5: him on the floor in order to be successful.
[1:49:18] Speaker 4: Yes.
[1:49:18] Speaker 5: So he is going to be out there. So guess what?
[1:49:22] Speaker 5: May I have this dance?
[1:49:23] Speaker 1: Thank you very much. CJ asked that, Mike.
[1:49:27] Speaker 4: You touched that white girl on the shoulder right there.
[1:49:30] Speaker 5: Can I have this dance, number 11?
[1:49:32] Speaker 1: Save the last dance for me.
[1:49:34] Speaker 5: So that's where we're at with it. And I'm all
[1:49:38] Speaker 5: for it, man. Like, either you're going to buckle down
[1:49:41] Speaker 5: or Mike Brown going to have to make a decision.
[1:49:44] Speaker 4: Right?
[1:49:45] Speaker 1: We coming at you.
[1:49:46] Speaker 4: Oh, and he won't even one of them McBride, Clarkson, Alvarado, Sin.
[1:49:53] Speaker 1: You better put OG on. He nice, too.
[1:49:56] Speaker 4: He ain't got hot yet.
[1:49:57] Speaker 5: Your best bet, you got to go big on him.
[1:49:59] Speaker 5: Josh Hart. That's your best bet. I don't even think
[1:50:03] Speaker 5: Josh Hart big enough. You got to put OG or
[1:50:07] Speaker 5: McHale Bridges on CJ. But then you can't switch it, though,
[1:50:11] Speaker 5: because they're just going to search him out. And the
[1:50:14] Speaker 5: way they play basketball... It's the easy switch, right? They
[1:50:18] Speaker 5: switch unnecessarily and he just going to keep searching them out.
[1:50:21] Speaker 3: We're going to find him.
[1:50:22] Speaker 1: You're going to get this work.
[1:50:23] Speaker 4: You're going to.
[1:50:24] Speaker 1: Get this work.
[1:50:26] Speaker 5: Because you can't put him out there. One time, I
[1:50:30] Speaker 5: think McBride or Brunson got stuck on Kamingo on the
[1:50:35] Speaker 5: wing in front of the Knicks bench. Man, he watch out.
[1:50:40] Speaker 1: Back you down. Watch out.
[1:50:43] Speaker 5: So you can't hide him. Because if you put him
[1:50:46] Speaker 5: on Alexander Walker, he's aggressive. Put him on Kaminga, he's aggressive.
[1:50:49] Speaker 5: CJ's aggressive. Johnson's aggressive. You can't hide him. So whatever,
[1:50:55] Speaker 5: he's going to be in the post or he's going
[1:50:56] Speaker 5: to be on the perimeter. And you're going to have
[1:50:58] Speaker 5: to make some decisions, Mike Brown.
[1:50:59] Speaker 4: CJ a real-time hooper, though. One of the most underrated.
[1:51:05] Speaker 8: basketball players like you say hoopers the guys are just
[1:51:09] Speaker 8: oh just roll the ball out he can this is
[1:51:11] Speaker 8: a dude you're gonna pick on your team in any
[1:51:14] Speaker 8: league any age wherever you go he got game in
[1:51:19] Speaker 8: this game the game of basketball the man went to
[1:51:22] Speaker 8: la salle man that boy can play won a tournament
[1:51:27] Speaker 8: game that boy can play in the tournament.
[1:51:31] Speaker 4: He can play. He know how to get a bucket.
[1:51:34] Speaker 4: He know what to do in crunch time. And, you know,
[1:51:37] Speaker 4: guys have given up on him throughout the years, him
[1:51:40] Speaker 4: being number two with Dame.
[1:51:41] Speaker 6: Don't you think he played in the shadow a little bit?
[1:51:44] Speaker 4: He played in the shadow, but he was a good
[1:51:45] Speaker 4: shadow guy.
[1:51:46] Speaker 1: You know, he was a good shadow guy.
[1:51:48] Speaker 4: You think about times when Dame wasn't out, he'd still
[1:51:50] Speaker 4: give you 30.
[1:51:52] Speaker 1: He could still be efficient.
[1:51:53] Speaker 8: But I think this is a perfect opportunity for him
[1:51:55] Speaker 8: to show his multifaceted ability to be able to not
[1:52:00] Speaker 8: only score the ball but help the other guys on
[1:52:03] Speaker 8: his team feed them. I mean, Kaminga didn't go without
[1:52:06] Speaker 8: eating last night, and that's important because he needed to
[1:52:09] Speaker 8: show he can do this at this level again outside
[1:52:13] Speaker 8: of the Warriors. And you look at Johnson out there,
[1:52:17] Speaker 8: you don't know what you're going to get from him
[1:52:19] Speaker 8: because he's an anomaly. He's 6'9, he can move, he
[1:52:23] Speaker 8: can hit open shots, he can offensive rebound. And you
[1:52:26] Speaker 8: got all these guards out here playing the way that
[1:52:28] Speaker 8: they're playing. The Knicks are in trouble. They do not
[1:52:30] Speaker 8: have answers. The only answer they do have is to
[1:52:34] Speaker 8: out-shoot you. Let's make more shots than you. You're not
[1:52:37] Speaker 8: stopping shit.
[1:52:39] Speaker 4: And until you get Carl Anthony Towns to buy in,
[1:52:41] Speaker 4: to going to get to the free throw line, putting
[1:52:44] Speaker 4: pressure on them bigs, making them go to their bench,
[1:52:47] Speaker 4: and making them say, look, we're going to put this
[1:52:50] Speaker 4: whole series.
[1:52:51] Speaker 8: Going to be around Carl. It can't be no guard play.
[1:52:53] Speaker 8: Because Brunson, I don't think he's going to outlast him.
[1:52:57] Speaker 6: Nick's still a one-point favorite at Atlanta in Game 3.
[1:53:00] Speaker 1: Of course.
[1:53:01] Speaker 5: Nick's doing something different, man. Mitchell Robinson is a game-changer.
[1:53:09] Speaker 5: He was in Game 1. Offensive rebound, different things like
[1:53:12] Speaker 5: that was going to help. You still got to stop
[1:53:18] Speaker 5: that ball, man.
[1:53:20] Speaker 2: We will see what happens as that ship's back to Atlanta.
[1:53:23] Speaker 2: Let's wrap up today. with our playoff picks throughout the postseason.
[1:53:27] Speaker 2: We'll be making team picks using underdogs prediction markets, which
[1:53:31] Speaker 2: you can do as well. We'll keep a leaderboard of
[1:53:33] Speaker 2: the couch's picks throughout the entire playoffs. But let's take
[1:53:37] Speaker 2: a look at the updated standings on our leaderboard if
[1:53:40] Speaker 2: we can please.
[1:53:41] Speaker 1: Ah, that shit went bad. A whole lot of nastiness
[1:53:43] Speaker 1: up there.
[1:53:44] Speaker 2: Shaw, you were in first place, now four and five.
[1:53:48] Speaker 2: This looks like the Eastern Conference right now.
[1:53:50] Speaker 1: Yeah. Canyon.
[1:53:52] Speaker 5: Was two and two yesterday. Me and B-Boat was 2-2 yesterday.
[1:53:55] Speaker 1: It fucking just went nasty. 2-5 better than 2-2?
[1:53:59] Speaker 5: No, we were 2-2 yesterday.
[1:54:00] Speaker 1: Better than being 2-7. 2-5. Definitely better than 2-7.
[1:54:04] Speaker 4: You know what?
[1:54:05] Speaker 8: Gil's going to not pick just so he can say
[1:54:07] Speaker 8: he would have picked winners.
[1:54:09] Speaker 1: Gil currently in first place? I would have picked him.
[1:54:12] Speaker 1: He's going to keep his shit all at the lowest.
[1:54:14] Speaker 1: First place 2-2?
[1:54:15] Speaker 5: So why don't we just, I think we should pick
[1:54:18] Speaker 5: every day, every game.
[1:54:19] Speaker 1: That's what I'm saying. Yeah, no, yeah. You know, every day.
[1:54:21] Speaker 1: And then in the chat, we should just pick and
[1:54:23] Speaker 1: then come back.
[1:54:23] Speaker 5: Yeah, everybody needs picks every day.
[1:54:25] Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm picking every day. Swaggy holding down last place.
[1:54:27] Speaker 5: Because he got nine. Him and Rashad both got nine picks.
[1:54:31] Speaker 1: Nine picks.
[1:54:32] Speaker 4: Yeah, me and Swag, because we did the first day.
[1:54:34] Speaker 1: Good. We did the first two days.
[1:54:36] Speaker 4: Yeah, first two days.
[1:54:36] Speaker 2: So, Swaggy, two and seven right now. I believe we
[1:54:39] Speaker 2: reviewed the tape. His picks were not accurate like he wanted.
[1:54:44] Speaker 5: Yeah, like I said, we knew we was going to
[1:54:47] Speaker 5: go to the tape, baby.
[1:54:48] Speaker 1: Let's go to the tape.
[1:54:50] Speaker 5: Hey, we're reviewing shit around here.
[1:54:51] Speaker 2: Only two games on the slate tonight, starting Detroit, where
[1:54:54] Speaker 2: the Orlando Magic have taken a surprising 1-0 lead over
[1:54:57] Speaker 2: the top-seeded Pistons. So tonight in Game 2, the Pistons
[1:55:00] Speaker 2: are heavy favorites with a 78% chance to win. The
[1:55:03] Speaker 2: Magic have a 23% chance to take a 2-0 series
[1:55:06] Speaker 2: lead heading back to Orlando. So, Shai, we will start
[1:55:09] Speaker 2: with you.
[1:55:10] Speaker 1: Who you got in Magic Pistons in Game 2? Yeah.
[1:55:19] Speaker 3: My sacrifice?
[1:55:23] Speaker 4: I'm going to go Pistons.
[1:55:27] Speaker 1: I'm taking the Detroit Pistons.
[1:55:29] Speaker 4: You got to show up.
[1:55:30] Speaker 1: You're taking the Pistons as well?
[1:55:32] Speaker 5: Yeah, I think they bounced back.
[1:55:33] Speaker 3: I'm Pistons.
[1:55:34] Speaker 1: Pistons. Skip, who do you like in that? Oh, shit.
[1:55:36] Speaker 1: Magic Pistons game.
[1:55:37] Speaker 6: I'm glad you didn't put me up there because I
[1:55:39] Speaker 6: think I've made a couple picks and gotten none right
[1:55:41] Speaker 6: so far.
[1:55:41] Speaker 5: Oh, it's still breaking, damn it.
[1:55:44] Speaker 1: Hey.
[1:55:46] Speaker 6: I'm owing low, but the team that has just bedeviled
[1:55:51] Speaker 6: me is Orlando. Every time I think, yeah, because I
[1:55:55] Speaker 6: had Orlando at Philly and they just didn't show up.
[1:55:58] Speaker 1: Didn't show up at all. What? Yeah. That's the team
[1:56:01] Speaker 1: we love. Yeah, that's the one we love.
[1:56:02] Speaker 6: And then Charlotte– It's got Orlando. No, I'm sorry. They
[1:56:06] Speaker 6: went to Orlando, Charlotte, Orlando. And Orlando did show up.
[1:56:12] Speaker 6: And then they really showed up in game one. And
[1:56:16] Speaker 6: yet the Pistons are just better. I mean, the Pistons
[1:56:19] Speaker 6: won the East by four games. So I'm definitely going Pistons. They're, what,
[1:56:23] Speaker 6: eight and a half point favorite in this game. So
[1:56:25] Speaker 6: I'm going Pistons.
[1:56:28] Speaker 4: Come on, let's go. Come on, Pistons.
[1:56:30] Speaker 3: Yeah, Pistons.
[1:56:31] Speaker 1: Okay, so let's move on.
[1:56:33] Speaker 2: To the second game of the slate in the West
[1:56:36] Speaker 2: after a blowout win in game one. Thunder look to
[1:56:38] Speaker 2: take care of business again against the Suns. Thunder are
[1:56:41] Speaker 2: monster favorites in this game. 92% chance.
[1:56:45] Speaker 5: We'll get one back for sure at least.
[1:56:47] Speaker 2: Is anyone taking a shot on the massive underdog Phoenix
[1:56:50] Speaker 2: Suns in this game?
[1:56:51] Speaker 1: Shout out. I see your eyes lighting up. You are
[1:56:52] Speaker 1: in deep thought right now. Dylan Brooks. Ooh, Devin Booker.
[1:56:56] Speaker 4: That's how you feel? You didn't say Jalen Green at all.
[1:57:02] Speaker 1: The Filipino curl, Jalen Green.
[1:57:06] Speaker 5: I'm on OKC. I ain't going to even play that game.
[1:57:10] Speaker 4: You ain't going to play that game?
[1:57:11] Speaker 5: Hell no. Them boys defend too much. Listen, man. The
[1:57:16] Speaker 5: way that shit looked in game one, how they was
[1:57:19] Speaker 5: defending them boys.
[1:57:20] Speaker 4: He was begging for that shit out there. He was begging.
[1:57:24] Speaker 5: Hey, the way they was defending them boys, man. And
[1:57:30] Speaker 5: they ain't got no answer for Chet, so I don't.
[1:57:33] Speaker 5: Phoenix ain't got no answer for Chet, so.
[1:57:35] Speaker 1: You going Thunder?
[1:57:36] Speaker 4: I'm going Thunder.
[1:57:37] Speaker 5: Yeah, I'm going.
[1:57:38] Speaker 1: Mr. B?
[1:57:38] Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm going to go Thunder.
[1:57:40] Speaker 6: Thunder are going to Thunder.
[1:57:42] Speaker 5: The enemies. They're going to bring out the what, B?
[1:57:44] Speaker 5: The boom.
[1:57:45] Speaker 1: The boom.
[1:57:46] Speaker 4: I don't think it's going to be a boom, though.
[1:57:48] Speaker 6: No?
[1:57:48] Speaker 5: You don't think it's going to be a boom?
[1:57:49] Speaker 1: That's why I'm.
[1:57:49] Speaker 8: Really here, because I'm like, Phoenix has to be a
[1:57:52] Speaker 8: 4-0 boom.
[1:57:53] Speaker 1: Phoenix has to show up. It's going to be a 4-0.
[1:57:55] Speaker 4: I think it's going to be a closer game than
[1:57:57] Speaker 4: we think.
[1:57:57] Speaker 6: Because this is 17 and a half points.
[1:58:01] Speaker 4: It's got to be close. It's got to be.
[1:58:03] Speaker 5: It's going to boom them people.
[1:58:04] Speaker 3: It's got to be close.
[1:58:05] Speaker 1: Yeah, it's over. It's over. Boom what?
[1:58:07] Speaker 4: Devin Booker has to show the fuck up.
[1:58:09] Speaker 5: I'm just saying.
[1:58:11] Speaker 1: He got to show the fuck up.
[1:58:13] Speaker 5: But I'm just saying, the perimeter defenders for the Oklahoma
[1:58:15] Speaker 5: City Thunder, man.
[1:58:18] Speaker 4: They get away with a lot of shit.
[1:58:19] Speaker 5: Because they defend. Yeah, if you defend, Ron used to.
[1:58:22] Speaker 5: Tony Allen used to. Bruce Bowen used to. Shane Battier
[1:58:26] Speaker 5: used to. All the motherfucking wing defenders hacks.
[1:58:29] Speaker 1: Yeah.
[1:58:30] Speaker 5: But if you do enough of it, they can't call
[1:58:32] Speaker 5: all of them.
[1:58:32] Speaker 4: Call all of them.
[1:58:33] Speaker 1: Well, they can't. Give me one game when you're calling
[1:58:35] Speaker 1: that shit.
[1:58:36] Speaker 5: They're not going to call all of them, so they
[1:58:38] Speaker 5: climbing in your jersey, and no freedom of movement with
[1:58:41] Speaker 5: Oklahoma City on their perimeter.
[1:58:42] Speaker 2: So we will find out tonight. If your picks are correct,
[1:58:46] Speaker 2: we can get you guys moving up to the underdog.
[1:58:49] Speaker 2: Gills Arena playoff leaderboard. Shout out to Underdog Prediction Markets.
[1:58:53] Speaker 2: Shout out to everybody in the chat pulling up. Skip,
[1:58:56] Speaker 2: thank you again for making your presence felt here on
[1:58:58] Speaker 2: this glorious Wednesday. Come on, man. We ain't out yet.
[1:59:06] Speaker 2: I see the snacks in the back. Shout out to
[1:59:08] Speaker 2: everybody else on this couch. This has been another episode
[1:59:11] Speaker 2: of Gills Arena presented by Underdog.
[1:59:14] Speaker 1: We will see y'all tomorrow.
