[0:00] Speaker 1: All right, well, let's keep this thing moving. Let's keep
[0:03] Speaker 1: this thing moving. I can't give him too much credit, man.
[0:05] Speaker 1: You know what I'm saying?
[0:07] Speaker 2: So Ben Simmons, NBA comeback, took a devastating turn this
[0:11] Speaker 2: weekend as a former number one pick. Suffered a torn
[0:13] Speaker 2: right Achilles tendon during practice Sunday with the Kings. Expected
[0:17] Speaker 2: to be out for the entire season. Injury comes on
[0:19] Speaker 2: the heels of Simmons ending preseason with his best game.
[0:22] Speaker 2: He put up 14 points, eight rebounds, seven assists, and
[0:25] Speaker 2: 26 minutes of action against the Spurs this past Friday.
[0:28] Speaker 2: So Simmons was injured during a live practice drill. Will
[0:31] Speaker 2: undergo surgery. He was preparing to make his comeback to
[0:33] Speaker 2: the league after taking last season off to get his
[0:36] Speaker 2: mind and body right. Sacramento signed Ben Simmons to a
[0:39] Speaker 2: one-year $ 3. 5 million contract in September. They will keep him
[0:43] Speaker 2: on the roster this season with his salary fully guaranteed
[0:45] Speaker 2: due to that injury. He was expected to provide experienced
[0:49] Speaker 2: ball handling and defensive versatility alongside rookie guard Darius Acuff Jr.
[0:54] Speaker 2: And according to a report from Anscapes, Mark Spears, Kings
[0:57] Speaker 2: head coach Doug Christie was going to make Simmons one
[0:59] Speaker 2: of the Kings team captains before that injury went down.
[1:03] Speaker 2: So on his IG story, Simmons vowed to bounce back saying,
[1:07] Speaker 2: I faced challenges before that tested me mentally, physically, and emotionally,
[1:10] Speaker 2: and I found a way through every single one of them.
[1:13] Speaker 2: This injury is another chapter in my journey, not the
[1:15] Speaker 2: end of my story. Never easy being away from the
[1:18] Speaker 2: game I love, especially after everything it took to get
[1:20] Speaker 2: back here. But if there's one thing I've learned is
[1:23] Speaker 2: that adversity doesn't define you. How you respond to it does.
[1:26] Speaker 2: I've been knocked down before. I've always found a way
[1:28] Speaker 2: to get back up. This time will be no different. So, Danny,
[1:32] Speaker 2: we're going to start with you on this one. What's
[1:34] Speaker 2: your reaction to Ben Simmons suffering a season-ending Achilles injury?
[1:38] Speaker 3: Man, a very tough break. The timing of it couldn't
[1:41] Speaker 3: be any worse. They just dropped the, you know, shout-out
[1:45] Speaker 3: to Mark Spears. He did the E60 or whatever you
[1:48] Speaker 3: want to call it, the sit-down about Ben. You know,
[1:51] Speaker 3: that was his guy. And I did the sit-down. I
[1:54] Speaker 3: spoke on it. And when he was at his best,
[1:57] Speaker 3: he was really good. People forget because of all the
[1:59] Speaker 3: stuff that came after, left a stain on his resume.
[2:04] Speaker 3: But when he was at his best, people were comparing
[2:06] Speaker 3: him to LeBron James. You know what I'm saying? He
[2:08] Speaker 3: was an all-star.
[2:09] Speaker 1: He was very good.
[2:10] Speaker 3: And I got a chance to also call the game
[2:11] Speaker 3: when they were here in Sacramento. Doug Christie was very
[2:14] Speaker 3: high on him, even though he didn't play that game.
[2:17] Speaker 3: But he's like, yeah, he's the guy. He's been the vet.
[2:19] Speaker 3: He's been taking guys under his wing, leading, looking healthy,
[2:22] Speaker 3: and kind of setting the table for that group to
[2:25] Speaker 3: kind of show that they have a different type of
[2:28] Speaker 3: culture now. Sacramento's still trying to figure their own identity out.
[2:32] Speaker 3: And Coach Christie was high on Ben, and this was
[2:36] Speaker 3: supposed to be the year of him redeeming himself. And
[2:40] Speaker 3: just as they dropped the docu-series, the documentary, he tears
[2:45] Speaker 3: his Achilles. So it's a tough break. I'm wishing him
[2:47] Speaker 3: speedy recovery, wishing him the best. I know he's still young.
[2:51] Speaker 3: He'll bounce back. But just terrible timing. Boogie, let's shift
[2:56] Speaker 3: over to you. King's legend.
[2:59] Speaker 1: King's legend. I'm not going to say the other word
[3:01] Speaker 1: that Swaggy said. King's legend. Y'all killing me.
[3:04] Speaker 2: I'm not going to say the nickname for our state's captain.
[3:07] Speaker 4: But it is unfortunate, man. I was excited for the return.
[3:11] Speaker 4: I was excited for his opportunity. It looked like he
[3:16] Speaker 4: was getting back to the Ben Simmons that, you know,
[3:19] Speaker 4: we fell in.
[3:19] Speaker 1: Love with as a player.
[3:23] Speaker 4: I wanted to see the show, and I also thought
[3:25] Speaker 4: he had a really good opportunity with a franchise that
[3:28] Speaker 4: was kind of looking for a bright spot outside of
[3:32] Speaker 4: Acuff as a player. So I think Ben was presenting
[3:35] Speaker 4: himself as that, and I also think they were kind
[3:38] Speaker 4: of positioning themselves to kind of be a surprise team
[3:42] Speaker 4: this year.
[3:43] Speaker 1: I'm not going out saying I.
[3:44] Speaker 4: Think they're a playoff team or anything like that, but
[3:48] Speaker 4: I think they were going to show us something that,
[3:51] Speaker 4: you know, we weren't really expecting from this group this year. So,
[3:55] Speaker 4: you know, I hate to see this situation for him.
[3:59] Speaker 4: I hope the time off that kind of helped him
[4:01] Speaker 4: get back to this place of, you know, joy. I
[4:05] Speaker 4: hope he can get back to whatever foundation helped him
[4:07] Speaker 4: get to that in this next moment of, you know,
[4:10] Speaker 4: kind of being away from the game. But on the
[4:13] Speaker 4: bright side of things, you know, we're now in a
[4:15] Speaker 4: time where we're seeing dudes bounce back from these Achilles injuries. Like, No,
[4:19] Speaker 4: these motherfuckers look like ankle sprains now compared to even
[4:23] Speaker 4: when I did mine. So that is the bright side
[4:26] Speaker 4: of this, and that's the good news of this. You know,
[4:29] Speaker 4: it sucks being away from the game. But, you know,
[4:33] Speaker 4: there is light at the end of the tunnel. I
[4:35] Speaker 4: hope he can stay strong mentally, stay locked in mentally.
[4:39] Speaker 4: And we still want to see you come back and
[4:40] Speaker 4: be the player that you were.
[4:41] Speaker 1: You know what I mean?
[4:42] Speaker 4: I think you still had that opportunity. Still got a
[4:44] Speaker 4: lot of basketball in front of you. But, you know,
[4:47] Speaker 4: lock in. You know, take your time away. But we
[4:51] Speaker 4: want to see you back on the court. So I
[4:52] Speaker 4: hope it doesn't get to a point where, you know,
[4:55] Speaker 4: he decides to walk away from me.
[4:57] Speaker 1: Oh, whatever.
[4:57] Speaker 4: You never know what a guy going through mentally. So
[5:00] Speaker 4: to kind of get it back to back, that's tough.
[5:02] Speaker 1: You know what I mean? So I just want him
[5:04] Speaker 1: to stay in a place of positivity, and we want
[5:07] Speaker 1: to see you get back on the floor.
[5:09] Speaker 5: I think everybody here just, you know, when you watch
[5:11] Speaker 5: Ben's story of, like, what we thought he was going
[5:13] Speaker 5: to be and then how the career just went downhill
[5:17] Speaker 5: and everything that went along with it, And then it
[5:21] Speaker 5: was looking like this was going to be a great
[5:22] Speaker 5: turnaround story. And so we just, like I was watching
[5:26] Speaker 5: him some of those games, I was like, is that
[5:27] Speaker 5: the same Ben Simmons?
[5:28] Speaker 1: He looks way more confident offensively. He does.
[5:30] Speaker 5: Like he just looked like he had, I don't know
[5:32] Speaker 5: where he got the confidence from. You just talked about
[5:34] Speaker 5: that confidence. He found his. And so even though he's hurt,
[5:40] Speaker 5: I wish him a speedy recovery. I hope he comes
[5:42] Speaker 5: back and I hope he has that same confidence that
[5:44] Speaker 5: he had in his preseason. He brings that back next
[5:46] Speaker 5: season because we do know that Ben Simmons can dominate
[5:50] Speaker 5: the game in so many different ways.
[5:51] Speaker 1: He can dominate.
[5:52] Speaker 5: Rebounding, passing, just the way he pushes the tempo and
[5:56] Speaker 5: gets that ball off the rim and gets it out.
[5:59] Speaker 5: That means something. So he has a lot to offer
[6:01] Speaker 5: the game of basketball. And this setback shouldn't define him.
[6:06] Speaker 5: I can't wait to see the next chapter.
[6:08] Speaker 2: Let's move on to you. Obviously, Ben Simmons making his
[6:12] Speaker 2: return with the Kings. A lot of high expectations. His
[6:16] Speaker 2: love for the game question amongst other things. He said
[6:17] Speaker 2: that was all BS. Ready to come back through and
[6:20] Speaker 2: improve something.
[6:21] Speaker 1: Don't say that stupid thing.
[6:23] Speaker 6: Don't say that stupid thing. It's everyone who got injured
[6:31] Speaker 6: and you understand where he's at mentally. This reminds me
[6:36] Speaker 6: of when Derrick Rose twisted his ankle when he was
[6:38] Speaker 6: in Cleveland. I can't do this.
[6:40] Speaker 1: I'm gone.
[6:40] Speaker 6: Because you've sat at home With your own thoughts. Questioning
[6:51] Speaker 6: your ability. Questioning if this is it. Are you going
[6:53] Speaker 6: to ever get back to this game? You get to
[6:57] Speaker 6: a point where hope.
[6:59] Speaker 1: Hope hits. You start feeling good. Oh, I'm not sore. Okay, yeah.
[7:04] Speaker 1: You go in. He's watching it in real time. Oh, shit.
[7:08] Speaker 6: Getting the praises.
[7:10] Speaker 1: To then get knocked down. The hope.
[7:14] Speaker 6: Like, that's what I hate about it. It's like I
[7:16] Speaker 6: used to ask, yo, just let me just fuck it
[7:19] Speaker 6: up so I don't get recovery.
[7:20] Speaker 1: Like, there's too much fucking hope here. Right. Get rid
[7:23] Speaker 1: of the hope.
[7:23] Speaker 6: I don't want to work my way all the way
[7:26] Speaker 6: back to to where I'm feeling great for me to
[7:29] Speaker 6: keep getting hindered. Like, you started questioning, is there a
[7:34] Speaker 6: motherfucking God up there?
[7:35] Speaker 1: Like, why me? You're doing that. I know he's doing it.
[7:39] Speaker 1: We all did.
[7:40] Speaker 6: Why me?
[7:40] Speaker 1: Why the fuck me? What am I doing? I done
[7:42] Speaker 1: cleansed my house. I just looked at that motherfucking girl. Ah,
[7:45] Speaker 1: you know what I mean? God don't want you in
[7:47] Speaker 1: my life.
[7:47] Speaker 6: You're finding anything to get back cleansed so you can
[7:52] Speaker 6: just move straight. It's like you're questioning, why are you
[7:58] Speaker 6: keep hitting a hurdle? What are you doing wrong in
[8:01] Speaker 6: your life?
[8:02] Speaker 1: Right.
[8:03] Speaker 6: And it's like, damn, you can see he look better,
[8:07] Speaker 6: look good, ready to go.
[8:08] Speaker 1: And you're saying, God damn practice.
[8:10] Speaker 3: Yeah.
[8:11] Speaker 1: Not a game.
[8:12] Speaker 6: You know, practice and not a cramp. Not like I'm them.
[8:18] Speaker 6: I'm out for a whole fucking other year. Like, yeah. Like,
[8:25] Speaker 6: I want people to play their whole, like, I want
[8:28] Speaker 6: to see who you are, who you was. I want
[8:30] Speaker 6: you to be able to have your full, like, I
[8:32] Speaker 6: don't like that what if or what if.
[8:34] Speaker 1: Grant Hill didn't get hurt, what if Penny, I hate
[8:37] Speaker 1: Derek Rose.
[8:38] Speaker 6: I want a world where nobody gets hurt. Everybody just
[8:41] Speaker 6: plays so we can see who's the best of the best. Right?
[8:44] Speaker 6: And it's just, obviously, that's not the game, but. When
[8:47] Speaker 6: you're coming back, man, I love the comeback story. I
[8:50] Speaker 6: want Holly to go back to where it goes.
[8:52] Speaker 1: You know what I mean?
[8:52] Speaker 6: You want Dame to go back and do what he does.
[8:55] Speaker 6: Ben Simmons is one of those guys, too.
[8:56] Speaker 1: I agree.
[8:59] Speaker 6: Bam. Let me hear what your own thoughts, man.
[9:02] Speaker 2: We don't want to talk about the what-ifs, but, Dane,
[9:04] Speaker 2: like you talked about and spoke on, Ben Simmons wants
[9:05] Speaker 2: a three-time All-Star. Obviously, elite defender, one of the most
[9:08] Speaker 2: promising young players in basketball. You talked about the LeBron
[9:11] Speaker 2: James comparisons early on in his career. But when you
[9:14] Speaker 2: just think about it, just how sad is the what-ifs
[9:18] Speaker 2: side of the Ben Simmons and what he could have
[9:19] Speaker 2: been versus him.
[9:20] Speaker 3: Yeah, like where does it rank? Man, I mean, again,
[9:25] Speaker 3: he's got to be probably one of the top ten
[9:26] Speaker 3: what ifs, right? If you have, you know, you got
[9:29] Speaker 3: Grant Hill, D. Rose, T-Mac, Brandon Roy. Who you got?
[9:35] Speaker 1: Cus? Okay.
[9:36] Speaker 3: Hey, hey, hey, hey.
[9:38] Speaker 4: Hey, hey, hey. I don't never get my name thrown in.
[9:42] Speaker 4: I ain't really complete my seat.
[9:44] Speaker 3: Nah, but he's probably in the top ten of biggest
[9:46] Speaker 3: like what ifs. But he still has time. He's only 30.
[9:52] Speaker 3: One year, obviously not in the prime, but for what
[9:56] Speaker 3: he does, he can be very effective and efficient because
[9:59] Speaker 3: he's he's a big man i can handle the ball
[10:01] Speaker 3: and play point guard he can set screens and roll
[10:03] Speaker 3: and play the draymond role he can dho he can
[10:06] Speaker 3: throw it ahead he can defend positions you know two
[10:10] Speaker 3: through four or two through five five yeah one through
[10:13] Speaker 3: five um so you know he has an advantage because
[10:17] Speaker 3: he's so coordinated at that size So I said, I
[10:21] Speaker 3: hope he bounces back. I hope he gets back to
[10:23] Speaker 3: where he was. But this is a big what if because, again,
[10:27] Speaker 3: he was on the trajectory of, you know, he had
[10:30] Speaker 3: the masses talking about him. Like I said, LeBron James,
[10:33] Speaker 3: step aside. We're okay. Only one person said that. Keep cooking.
[10:37] Speaker 3: You know, people were comparing him to Bron, man, and
[10:41] Speaker 3: he could do a lot of things at 6'10. Like I.
[10:44] Speaker 5: Said, he just got to make, like, to Gil's point,
[10:48] Speaker 5: When you come back from rehab and you know, he knows,
[10:52] Speaker 5: there's some dark days.
[10:54] Speaker 1: He just can't let those dark days... Your support system.
[10:56] Speaker 3: The rehab time is a pain in the ass, bro.
[10:59] Speaker 5: Your support system needs to be good, positivity around you,
[11:02] Speaker 5: and you can't fall victim to them voices in your head. Like,
[11:04] Speaker 5: my son got me watching them Spider-Man movies.
[11:06] Speaker 1: What's the character?
[11:07] Speaker 5: The hobgoblin that got the little evil dude talking in
[11:10] Speaker 5: his ear?
[11:10] Speaker 1: You can't listen to the evil goblin!
[11:13] Speaker 5: You got to figure out, all right, listen, I know
[11:16] Speaker 5: there's these doubts... But man, every day just, let's be
[11:20] Speaker 5: better today than I was yesterday.
[11:21] Speaker 3: Show up.
[11:22] Speaker 5: Because when you got the surgery and you first... Can
[11:25] Speaker 5: barely move around.
[11:26] Speaker 1: It's humbling. You used to fly all around. Waking up
[11:29] Speaker 1: all day.
[11:29] Speaker 3: Yeah.
[11:30] Speaker 5: I used to used to fly all around the court.
[11:32] Speaker 5: And now all of a sudden somebody got to help
[11:34] Speaker 5: you get to the bathroom.
[11:35] Speaker 3: You know what I'm saying?
[11:36] Speaker 1: You got the little school. Hey, hey, can you help
[11:38] Speaker 1: me shower?
[11:39] Speaker 5: That's a humbling feeling when I was just out there
[11:42] Speaker 5: performing in front of twenty five thousand. So you can't
[11:45] Speaker 5: let the voices get to you because them voices will
[11:47] Speaker 5: be like, what if I never get back? how long
[11:50] Speaker 5: is it going to take me to get back from this?
[11:53] Speaker 5: You just got to fight that.
[11:54] Speaker 3: I don't know.
[11:54] Speaker 5: I don't got the recipe or the way that you
[11:58] Speaker 5: fight it, but you got to fight them voices out
[12:00] Speaker 5: your head in that moment.
[12:01] Speaker 1: You got to surround yourself with positivity.
[12:04] Speaker 3: Just keep showing up to rehab. 80% of the battles,
[12:06] Speaker 3: showing up to rehab, bro.
[12:07] Speaker 1: That is true.
[12:08] Speaker 3: Just showing up because it'll get you in the right
[12:10] Speaker 3: frame of mind.
[12:11] Speaker 1: All right, well, let's keep this thing moving. NBA season. Hey,
[12:16] Speaker 1: Paul George out there kicking they ass.
[12:18] Speaker 2: I want to point that out.
[12:20] Speaker 1: 17 and a half. Okay. You know I'm looking. Word. Yeah,
[12:24] Speaker 1: he got 17 and a half.
[12:25] Speaker 2: 17 and three rebounds. Move over, Tatum. Five for nine
[12:29] Speaker 2: from the field.
[12:29] Speaker 1: Three for five. I'm the captain now. Relax, my boy.
[12:32] Speaker 3: You need to relax. It's time to love again.
[12:34] Speaker 1: Hey, I ain't going to lie.
[12:35] Speaker 6: It's that line.
[12:37] Speaker 1: 17-0 assists? Oh, nigga, that's the type of nigga I like.
[12:39] Speaker 5: That's the type of brother you was.
[12:41] Speaker 6: 17-0, that's what you mean?
[12:45] Speaker 1: That's the type of brother you like. That was you. Swing, swing.
[12:49] Speaker 3: Jalen Dern hooping, too, right now.
[12:51] Speaker 1: Yeah.
[12:51] Speaker 2: We're going to talk Paul George in a moment, but
[12:54] Speaker 2: we got two other games on the schedule before we
[12:56] Speaker 2: move on, though.
[12:57] Speaker 1: NBA, 3 p.m. Celtics-Pistons game. You know Gil's Arena's on.
[13:03] Speaker 3: Yeah.
[13:04] Speaker 1: You know Gil's Arena is on. Yeah, usually you do
[13:06] Speaker 1: this to, like, the weak teams. Like, you know what?
[13:09] Speaker 1: Usually this would have been a New York. Now it's
[13:13] Speaker 1: opening day. New York, Philly.
[13:14] Speaker 6: This would have been that if they didn't win the championship.
[13:16] Speaker 6: That's like that Christmas game, right? Opening day game. Christmas
[13:20] Speaker 6: game at 6 a.m.
[13:21] Speaker 1: Adam Silver, you know niggas is at work. Everything's trying
[13:24] Speaker 1: to be global now.
[13:25] Speaker 5: Is this the first time they've done this? Like, a three, like, no, like.
[13:28] Speaker 5: If you're going to have a 3 p.m. game, it's
[13:30] Speaker 5: like a Saturday or something, like a Sunday. A 3 p.m.
[13:33] Speaker 5: soft Tuesday game is mad.
[13:35] Speaker 1: Weird, isn't it?
[13:35] Speaker 6: Yeah, I was looking at it. I'm sitting here looking.
[13:38] Speaker 6: I'm like, wait, is there a game going on? I'm
[13:40] Speaker 6: going to get out of bed before 2.30.
[13:41] Speaker 1: I know that arena. Nah, it's probably sold out. Hell yeah. Oh, Detroit?
[13:45] Speaker 3: Yeah.
[13:45] Speaker 6: They ain't got no drives over there.
[13:49] Speaker 1: What? Wow. Wow.
[13:51] Speaker 5: Why would you say that?
[13:53] Speaker 6: I got this on beef with Detroit.
[13:55] Speaker 1: What?
[13:55] Speaker 6: Anytime I can just throw a shot at them for
[13:57] Speaker 6: no reason.
[13:58] Speaker 1: They got the whole motor industry out there.
[14:01] Speaker 2: Detroit, this is Gil's personal beef.
[14:03] Speaker 1: We love the city. Yo, I'm not allowed, Davis. I
[14:05] Speaker 1: don't want that smoke. I don't want that smoke. No, yeah,
[14:07] Speaker 1: I can't even fly there. Oh, you can't? Yeah, yeah, yeah.
[14:10] Speaker 6: Okay.
[14:10] Speaker 1: No doubt. Yeah, yeah, yeah. TSA said it with my ass.
[14:14] Speaker 6: So I can't even stop over there.
[14:18] Speaker 1: No layover.
[14:19] Speaker 6: Been banned from there. Just all the surrounding states.
[14:23] Speaker 2: I appreciate you all the chat that's here. All the
[14:25] Speaker 2: chat that's here is still supporting Gil's Arena, even though
[14:26] Speaker 2: Adam Silver tried to hate on our flow, put a
[14:29] Speaker 2: game at the same time as Gil's Arena. Go ahead
[14:30] Speaker 2: and hit that like button to let Adam Silver know
[14:33] Speaker 2: that we're not with the bullshit. Start these games at
[14:35] Speaker 2: a reasonable hour when everybody's done with work. Stop trying
[14:37] Speaker 2: to cater to the global market.
[14:39] Speaker 1: Mm-hmm. You got Boston fans.
[14:41] Speaker 6: Pistons fans.
[14:43] Speaker 1: You got to watch.
[14:44] Speaker 6: I think I'm around five to seven.
[14:47] Speaker 1: What if stories? Your rank is five to seven? Five
[14:51] Speaker 1: to seven.
[14:52] Speaker 3: Okay.
[14:52] Speaker 1: Three All-NBAs before 25? I can see that.
[14:55] Speaker 2: Same age as Dalton Kinnick. You're trying to say he
[14:59] Speaker 2: was old?
[15:00] Speaker 1: He was old. They got Rose at one. Penny at two.
[15:06] Speaker 1: Grant Hill got to be three. Grant Hill three. Mm-hmm.
[15:10] Speaker 1: They have Brandon Roy. Brandon Roy, yeah. Me or T-Mac
[15:15] Speaker 1: at that 4-5. Is Arvita Sabonis on the list, Gil? No,
[15:19] Speaker 1: he's probably not on the list. Because he was called.
[15:22] Speaker 1: How old did he come in? Like 30, 31? He
[15:24] Speaker 1: came in super old.
[15:25] Speaker 6: How the fuck do we supposed to know he came
[15:26] Speaker 6: in at 30 years old?
[15:27] Speaker 2: With the janky knee. He was in the Soviet block.
[15:29] Speaker 2: He wasn't allowed out that Soviet block. But my pop
[15:31] Speaker 2: said he was like dunking a free throw line back
[15:33] Speaker 2: in the day.
[15:33] Speaker 3: They got Yao on there?
[15:34] Speaker 1: Before he blew his knees out.
[15:36] Speaker 5: That's another one. Before them feet gave out, Yao was
[15:38] Speaker 5: a problem. We talked about that the other day.
[15:40] Speaker 1: Legionnaire, yep.
[15:41] Speaker 5: He asked me, who was my toughest guard outside of Shaq?
[15:43] Speaker 5: I was like, Yao Ming.
[15:46] Speaker 2: But before we talk about PG, Celtics want to let
[15:48] Speaker 2: that game play out a little bit more.
[15:49] Speaker 1: Yeah, Bill Walton had the janky jank. Them two.
[15:52] Speaker 2: So Thunder and Spurs opened the season. Thunder and Spurs
[15:55] Speaker 2: opened their season tonight in San Antonio with a Western
[15:58] Speaker 2: Conference Finals rematch. Spurs ended the Thunder's attempt to go
[16:01] Speaker 2: back-to-back last season, winning Game 7 in OKC, which was
[16:05] Speaker 2: a nightmare for Chet Holmgren after making an All-NBA and
[16:08] Speaker 2: All-Star team. Holmgren scored just four points and had four
[16:11] Speaker 2: rebounds with only two field goal attempts and nearly 33
[16:14] Speaker 2: minutes of action. Meanwhile, Victor Wiminyama, also known as Wamba Wamba,
[16:18] Speaker 2: led the Spurs with 22 points on their way to
[16:20] Speaker 2: winning the West. with the alien dominating the series against Holmgren.
[16:24] Speaker 2: So Chet Holmgren was recently interviewed by Chris Mannix of
[16:27] Speaker 2: Sports Illustrated and shared that his approach after the series
[16:30] Speaker 2: and the season was to disassociate from the emotions of it.
[16:34] Speaker 2: He went on to add, It definitely took me a
[16:36] Speaker 2: couple weeks to sit there and reflect and think all
[16:39] Speaker 2: that shit was for nothing. When you lose, it feels
[16:41] Speaker 2: like it was all for nothing because at the end
[16:42] Speaker 2: of the day, you don't put all that effing work
[16:45] Speaker 2: in just to lose. You put all that work in
[16:47] Speaker 2: to try and reach the top, and when you don't
[16:49] Speaker 2: get there, You can feel like it's a complete failure. So,
[16:52] Speaker 2: Holmgren was also asked about Wimby taking their rivalry personally
[16:56] Speaker 2: and responded, that's a question for him. He hasn't really
[16:59] Speaker 2: spoke much about it. Obviously, Wimby's been taking shots. So,
[17:03] Speaker 2: Chet now entering his fourth year with the Thunder. Holmgren
[17:06] Speaker 2: and his OKC teammates are playing the role of hunters
[17:08] Speaker 2: again after losing to the Spurs.
[17:10] Speaker 1: You said he's done. He done.
[17:11] Speaker 3: He gonna fight back, man. He gonna fight back.
[17:13] Speaker 1: Nah. It's not fair to him, man.
[17:15] Speaker 3: He gotta fight back.
[17:16] Speaker 4: I just feel like Obviously, these guys have had a
[17:20] Speaker 4: history as far as matching up, coming up, you know,
[17:23] Speaker 4: as young boys in this game. But the situations are
[17:27] Speaker 4: totally different. What Wimby is allowed to do for the Spurs,
[17:32] Speaker 4: Chad would never be allowed to do any.
[17:33] Speaker 1: Of that with OKC.
[17:35] Speaker 4: So to sit here and try to match them up
[17:37] Speaker 4: based off numbers and performance-wise, I feel like Wimby is
[17:41] Speaker 4: always going to have the upper hand because this is
[17:43] Speaker 4: a guy that's getting 20, 25 shots a game compared
[17:46] Speaker 4: to a guy that's considered– Third option maybe on OKC.
[17:51] Speaker 4: He's really a role player. Yeah, he may get eight
[17:54] Speaker 4: to ten shots a game on a nightly basis. So
[17:58] Speaker 4: I just think it's unfair as far as the comparison.
[18:02] Speaker 4: But what I don't like is it's kind of almost
[18:06] Speaker 4: the same approach I felt like he had when they
[18:09] Speaker 4: were matching up in the offs. I felt like Chet
[18:12] Speaker 4: kind of tucked his tail when shit started getting rough.
[18:15] Speaker 1: Yeah.
[18:17] Speaker 4: I feel like he got to embrace that challenge because
[18:18] Speaker 4: I think they're going to always be compared. It's going
[18:20] Speaker 4: to always be his matchup. It's no different than him
[18:23] Speaker 4: going to Cleveland, having to match up with Evan Mobley.
[18:26] Speaker 4: Those are the guys you're going to always match up
[18:28] Speaker 4: with no matter who you're playing in the league. So
[18:32] Speaker 4: I think he has to embrace that challenge. And I'm
[18:35] Speaker 4: a fan of Chet. I was a fan of him
[18:36] Speaker 4: coming out of Gonzaga. I think he's a highly talented guy.
[18:39] Speaker 4: But I think for now and what they're looking for
[18:43] Speaker 4: from him with OKC, I think he gains his confidence.
[18:46] Speaker 4: I've said this before. He has to work on his body.
[18:49] Speaker 4: He has got to work on his body. He has
[18:51] Speaker 4: to get stronger. I feel like the stronger he becomes
[18:54] Speaker 4: as a player, the more confident he'll become as a player.
[18:57] Speaker 4: Because like I said, at the end of the day,
[18:59] Speaker 4: all the things that you're good at, which made you
[19:01] Speaker 4: a top five pick in this league, you're not going
[19:03] Speaker 4: to get the opportunity to display it with the group
[19:06] Speaker 4: you win. Maybe down the line, you know, God forbid,
[19:09] Speaker 4: you know, you end up with another group or something
[19:10] Speaker 4: like that. You may be pushed to that number one option.
[19:13] Speaker 4: But as of right now, you'll never be able to
[19:14] Speaker 4: display it. But what you can do is embrace the
[19:17] Speaker 4: challenge when you match up with Wimby. Show who you
[19:19] Speaker 4: are on the defensive end and just meet them.
[19:22] Speaker 1: You got to meet that challenge straight up, head up.
[19:25] Speaker 1: That's your job.
[19:26] Speaker 4: And no matter how you try to twist the story,
[19:29] Speaker 4: we're all going to look at you to be the
[19:31] Speaker 4: guy to control that monster on the other end.
[19:34] Speaker 1: That's your job. And obviously it's a team thing. We
[19:37] Speaker 1: look for the support of the guys. But head up.
[19:40] Speaker 2: We're looking for you to embrace that challenge. But looking
[19:42] Speaker 2: to your point, Chet has been working on his body.
[19:44] Speaker 2: He was 213 pounds last season. He's now 215 pounds. Yeah,
[19:47] Speaker 2: that ain't going to cut it.
[19:48] Speaker 1: Put on two pounds. That ain't going to cut it.
[19:50] Speaker 6: It.
[19:50] Speaker 1: Get my dog some Ensure, some protein shakes. Bro, what? Yeah,
[19:56] Speaker 1: take that shit back.
[19:57] Speaker 4: Before practice, the homies are trying to put weight on back,
[20:01] Speaker 4: and they eating peanut butter at the joint before practice.
[20:03] Speaker 3: Yeah, you got peanut butter and jelly sandwich in between.
[20:05] Speaker 1: I do the same thing.
[20:07] Speaker 4: And I'm not expecting him to go put on 40
[20:09] Speaker 4: pounds of muscle, but if we can take, what, 210, 215,
[20:12] Speaker 4: we take it up to 225, 230, I think that's
[20:15] Speaker 4: a confident player.
[20:16] Speaker 3: I mean, when we gained like 20 pounds last offseason, right?
[20:19] Speaker 1: Who did?
[20:21] Speaker 3: I think Wimby put on 20 pounds.
[20:22] Speaker 1: Wimby has put on weight every season, so I know.
[20:26] Speaker 3: It's possible.
[20:26] Speaker 4: And every year he's gotten more and more confident in
[20:29] Speaker 4: his body. It's the same thing with Chet.
[20:31] Speaker 5: I think to a certain degree, though, you're saying like
[20:35] Speaker 5: they're not going to run certain stuff for him. But
[20:40] Speaker 5: I think to your point, if he got stronger, I
[20:42] Speaker 5: think they would. We play in a switchable league. Everything
[20:47] Speaker 5: is switching.
[20:48] Speaker 3: Yep.
[20:49] Speaker 5: If Chet, instead of being, would you say he weighs now?
[20:51] Speaker 1: 215 pounds. 215, okay.
[20:54] Speaker 5: If let's just say that we took that to 230,
[20:56] Speaker 5: he was stronger, he could hold his spot. Could you
[20:59] Speaker 5: imagine we run the pick and roll, they switch. You know,
[21:02] Speaker 5: Shea ain't selfish. Oh, yo, yo, big fella, you got
[21:04] Speaker 5: somebody 6'5 on you? Run right there and no, no, no.
[21:08] Speaker 5: Play like a big, though. Don't tween, tween me to death.
[21:11] Speaker 5: Catch it right here. One bounce, get to a bump fade.
[21:14] Speaker 5: Your turnaround jumper. Do those type of things. Hold your
[21:17] Speaker 5: position because there's a world where there's more opportunity... for
[21:21] Speaker 5: Chet to take it, but he got to your point.
[21:23] Speaker 5: He got to be stronger to go get it. Because now,
[21:26] Speaker 5: we can go guard him with small guys.
[21:28] Speaker 1: Exactly. We can guard him with anybody on the floor. Exactly.
[21:30] Speaker 5: That's what happened even when Wimby wasn't guarding him.
[21:33] Speaker 1: Anthony Edwards weighed more than this motherfucker. Anthony Edwards, 225. Exactly.
[21:35] Speaker 5: He played a two. Even when Chet, even like I said,
[21:39] Speaker 5: you go watch, watch when they play. they're never afraid
[21:42] Speaker 5: to put anybody on him from a pick-and-roll standpoint because
[21:47] Speaker 5: he's not going to run to the low block. He's
[21:49] Speaker 5: not going to run to the mid-post and catch it
[21:51] Speaker 5: and make you feel like, oh, we got to go
[21:53] Speaker 5: double him. So it's like, oh, yeah, we'll switch to
[21:55] Speaker 5: pick-and-roll because we know he's just going to do that.
[21:57] Speaker 5: I think if he gains the weight, there's more opportunity.
[22:00] Speaker 5: With that opportunity and him scoring on bucket, confidence goes
[22:04] Speaker 5: through the roof. Now I've played a year where I'm
[22:06] Speaker 5: a little bit more confident in the mid-post. I'm scoring
[22:08] Speaker 5: a little bit more. I'm a little bit more swollen.
[22:10] Speaker 5: I'm feeling myself Now when you see that big monster,
[22:13] Speaker 5: look him in his eyes and be like, hey, I
[22:15] Speaker 5: ain't the same.
[22:16] Speaker 1: Stop it. Stop that. I got a good point going, Boogie.
[22:22] Speaker 1: Are you messing me up? You fucked me up. I did.
[22:24] Speaker 5: I had to pause myself.
[22:26] Speaker 1: But anyway. Hey, chill out. Chill out, Boogie. You're throwing
[22:30] Speaker 1: me off. My fault. My fault. I'm 46. I'm too
[22:32] Speaker 1: old for the pause game. But what I'm basically saying is.
[22:36] Speaker 5: When you're looking Wimby eye to eye, now that you
[22:39] Speaker 5: have your confidence up, it's like, yeah, I ain't little
[22:41] Speaker 5: no more.
[22:42] Speaker 1: I'm here.
[22:42] Speaker 5: We're not expecting you to go out there and do
[22:44] Speaker 5: what Wimby does. But then there's a level of you
[22:46] Speaker 5: got to take that matchup personal.
[22:49] Speaker 6: Yes.
[22:49] Speaker 3: There's a level of fight, man.
[22:51] Speaker 5: We were talking on the ride back home yesterday. I'm like,
[22:53] Speaker 5: if I had to guard you, I knew I wasn't
[22:55] Speaker 5: getting shot. I still had to go guard. I got
[22:57] Speaker 5: to take this personal. Like, yeah, I got first time.
[22:59] Speaker 5: A big cut on the perimeter.
[23:00] Speaker 3: Whoa, whoa, whoa.
[23:01] Speaker 1: Hold on now. He's trying to rock me to sleep.
[23:03] Speaker 1: All right.
[23:03] Speaker 5: Let me figure out how I'm going to do certain things.
[23:05] Speaker 5: I know I'm not going to outscore this guy.
[23:07] Speaker 1: I just got to make. I got to make him
[23:08] Speaker 1: respect the fact that... I got to make his job hard.
[23:11] Speaker 5: Brendan's not going to let me just walk to the post. Nah,
[23:13] Speaker 5: I'm like, nah.
[23:15] Speaker 6: Use all five, six of them bitches.
[23:17] Speaker 1: I respect that.
[23:18] Speaker 5: That's my point. I could never do what you did,
[23:21] Speaker 5: but it's like, Brendan's not going to let me walk
[23:23] Speaker 5: to the post. He's going to make me fight for
[23:25] Speaker 5: this position. It's a different thing. What you talking about?
[23:28] Speaker 5: Ain't nobody worried about that. You just have to basically
[23:33] Speaker 5: get to the point where that guy respects you. Wimby
[23:36] Speaker 5: and Chet, Wimby's always going to be here. Chet's going
[23:38] Speaker 5: to be below him. But right now, Wimby look at
[23:40] Speaker 5: him like food and Chet got to stop that.
[23:42] Speaker 1: I agree.
[23:43] Speaker 3: What was his quote that he wanted to dissociate from
[23:45] Speaker 3: the emotions?
[23:46] Speaker 1: Nah, fuck that. Nah, I want you to fuck that.
[23:49] Speaker 3: Sit with the emotions. Sit with your mom. I don't
[23:51] Speaker 3: know if I'm a fan of that.
[23:52] Speaker 1: Let it marinate.
[23:54] Speaker 3: His season should have started when offseason started.
[23:56] Speaker 1: Dissociate from the emotions of it.
[23:59] Speaker 3: Use those emotions to take it personally and then gain
[24:01] Speaker 3: the weight And again, you're not going to be in
[24:03] Speaker 3: the same room, but you can get closer. You can
[24:05] Speaker 3: fight back. As much as I love the Spurs, I
[24:07] Speaker 3: love Wembley, I want to see competitive basketball. I don't
[24:09] Speaker 3: want to see him just bully the shit out of
[24:11] Speaker 3: Chet every time he sees him.
[24:12] Speaker 2: And does it feel like that's what's going on? That's
[24:14] Speaker 2: what's going on right now.
[24:15] Speaker 6: A skinny nigga bullying a skinny nigga. Y'all talking about
[24:18] Speaker 6: for him to get his confidence, he needs to get
[24:20] Speaker 6: in the weight room.
[24:21] Speaker 1: Yeah.
[24:21] Speaker 6: I don't give a fuck how much you're lifting weights.
[24:26] Speaker 1: If I think you suck, you suck.
[24:28] Speaker 6: Right? The weight room is not going to help you
[24:32] Speaker 6: Gain confidence in a skill area. We played against each
[24:37] Speaker 6: other for a long time. You was defeating me when
[24:41] Speaker 6: we was little. I took it personal. Now I'm beating you.
[24:47] Speaker 6: He needs to take it personal. You're not taking it personal.
[24:49] Speaker 6: I want to disassociate. While the other one's like, there's
[24:52] Speaker 6: no competition.
[24:53] Speaker 1: He sucks. That's what the other one is saying about you.
[24:56] Speaker 1: You suck. This is no competition anymore. You're a little
[25:01] Speaker 1: to me. Boom.
[25:03] Speaker 3: That's what he's doing out there.
[25:09] Speaker 1: Watch when Wimby come out there. He coming out with the.
[25:13] Speaker 6: We've been here before. Every time Wimby score, you need
[25:18] Speaker 6: to tell your teammates.
[25:21] Speaker 1: Give me the ball. Who the fuck you going to
[25:24] Speaker 1: tell that to? The two-time MVP?
[25:26] Speaker 3: Nah.
[25:26] Speaker 7: Yes.
[25:27] Speaker 1: He's not too good. He can't do that.
[25:29] Speaker 3: If he worked on his game, he could. He can't
[25:33] Speaker 3: do that. The weight room helps.
[25:34] Speaker 1: You got to get strong.
[25:35] Speaker 3: You got to work on your game.
[25:36] Speaker 1: You got to do both. Mental. You got to do both.
[25:39] Speaker 1: My number one player.
[25:40] Speaker 4: If you put on 30 pounds of muscle and you
[25:42] Speaker 4: the guy that's getting your ass picked on every day,
[25:44] Speaker 4: you're going to be a little bit confident.
[25:47] Speaker 1: If you're 230 and.
[25:48] Speaker 4: You get down to 215, you're going to be a
[25:50] Speaker 4: little bit more confident than you are.
[25:52] Speaker 1: So unreal. That's not unreal. I have a two-time.
[25:55] Speaker 6: MVP looking at me getting my ass busted. If I
[25:58] Speaker 6: don't call for that rock. He's off me anyway. He's
[26:03] Speaker 6: off me. He's another fucking night. Let's go away from him.
[26:06] Speaker 6: That's what they do. You give me that bitch so
[26:08] Speaker 6: I can pass it to you. That star is looking
[26:11] Speaker 6: at me.
[26:12] Speaker 3: Let me see what you're going to do with it.
[26:14] Speaker 3: Let me see what you're going to do with it.
[26:16] Speaker 3: You don't have to do it that way.
[26:17] Speaker 1: Yes, he do. He needs to prove.
[26:20] Speaker 4: To that man that he can beat him.
[26:23] Speaker 3: Pick and choose.
[26:24] Speaker 5: You're talking about you as a scorer, you as a
[26:27] Speaker 5: confident player. Chet is more a role player than Gilbert Arenas.
[26:32] Speaker 2: He is.
[26:32] Speaker 5: So you're speaking from superstar status when you were averaging 30.
[26:37] Speaker 5: If somebody went at you, you're going to– Chet can't–
[26:40] Speaker 5: he's setting himself up for failure. He's got to beat
[26:42] Speaker 5: Wimby with effort play, screen, roll.
[26:45] Speaker 4: If Brendan messed up with Shaq and Shaq busting his.
[26:48] Speaker 1: Ass, he's like, hey, Gil, give me the fucking ball.
[26:51] Speaker 1: What you going to say? Nigga, man, you a motherfucker.
[26:53] Speaker 1: You a goddamn pothead. You're going to tell me to
[26:55] Speaker 1: get it off the table. Get it off the table.
[26:57] Speaker 1: You always, you know, like, get your get back.
[26:59] Speaker 6: Get the fuck out of here, Gil. We go off of,
[27:02] Speaker 6: are you competing in the NBA?
[27:04] Speaker 1: You're not giving him the ball.
[27:06] Speaker 6: If you're not competing and we know he's bitching, you know, you.
[27:10] Speaker 3: Have to compete.
[27:11] Speaker 6: Like Steve Nash, when we went into those games, he's
[27:14] Speaker 6: the MVP. I'm running out of snack. You're not going
[27:17] Speaker 6: to tell me shit.
[27:17] Speaker 1: But you have the, you're the first option. You can
[27:20] Speaker 1: do that. I was the 13th option doing the same thing.
[27:23] Speaker 1: A nigga scored on me. Give me the ball. We
[27:26] Speaker 1: are not playing this game. He's not going to have
[27:28] Speaker 1: a green light and I have a red light. We
[27:30] Speaker 1: just talked about how they coached way differently. Watch out.
[27:34] Speaker 1: You're not doing that. I did it. That was a
[27:37] Speaker 1: different era. That was the worst era.
[27:39] Speaker 4: We just talked about how they coach off a piece
[27:41] Speaker 4: of paper. It's no longer about feel. It's no longer
[27:44] Speaker 4: about momentum. It's not even about, hey, man, my guy
[27:46] Speaker 4: having a bad night.
[27:47] Speaker 1: Let's give him a couple plays to get around. They're
[27:49] Speaker 1: not doing that anymore. That's better. That means we're going
[27:53] Speaker 1: to swing, swing. We're just playing basketball. Give me that rock.
[27:55] Speaker 5: Yo, but you're thinking about your... I'm.
[27:58] Speaker 1: Thinking about war.
[28:00] Speaker 3: Chet's in position.
[28:01] Speaker 1: This is war.
[28:02] Speaker 3: He's in position.
[28:03] Speaker 6: If I'm Wimby and I read that bullshit soft-ass statement.
[28:08] Speaker 1: I'm agreeing on that. That's a soft-ass statement. I'm right here.
[28:11] Speaker 1: I guarantee you.
[28:14] Speaker 6: Wimby goes at him first. I need to see where
[28:17] Speaker 6: he's at. If I can beat him in the first
[28:20] Speaker 6: minute of the game, we don't have to worry about
[28:22] Speaker 6: him no more.
[28:22] Speaker 1: He beat him last year. He's already... That's what I'm saying.
[28:25] Speaker 6: If his statement was, hey, after that loss, after my performance,
[28:29] Speaker 6: I've been savoring the summer. I can't wait till tonight.
[28:32] Speaker 6: Wimby's going to be like, oh, okay, okay.
[28:34] Speaker 1: All right.
[28:35] Speaker 6: Like... That's some soft shit. This will be a 1-4 flat.
[28:40] Speaker 6: Let me test him.
[28:41] Speaker 1: Lay 1-4 flat? I used to hate the 1-4 flat game.
[28:44] Speaker 1: I know you did. Didn't get nobody to rock.
[28:46] Speaker 6: But look, this is called, we're going to L.A. when
[28:50] Speaker 6: I had 60. Kobe's first thing is, hey, I got Gil.
[28:52] Speaker 6: I'm going to shut him down.
[28:54] Speaker 1: Smoosh, you go D. Steve. Hey, that was a cold moment, though. Right?
[28:58] Speaker 1: Hold on.
[28:59] Speaker 5: You need to tell that one because that's a cold moment.
[29:01] Speaker 1: You've lost an over. From the start of the game, though,
[29:04] Speaker 1: you're at halftime. Because I'm on fire. So I'm leading up.
[29:08] Speaker 6: I'm catching heat right now. So Cole, we already know
[29:12] Speaker 6: the matchup.
[29:13] Speaker 1: Cole's like, hey, no, no. Hey, Smush, I got Gil.
[29:15] Speaker 1: I'm going to shut him down. You go to Larry.
[29:18] Speaker 1: You're forgetting the part. And then I'm like, hey, hey.
[29:21] Speaker 1: Tallest steps.
[29:22] Speaker 5: I'm going one, four, flat first. You're forgetting the part.
[29:25] Speaker 5: Cole didn't shake nobody's hand.
[29:27] Speaker 1: He walked past. I said, Cole, what up? Walked straight
[29:29] Speaker 1: past me. That's me.
[29:31] Speaker 5: Walked up to you, smacked you on the ass hard
[29:34] Speaker 5: as hell.
[29:35] Speaker 3: Bow!
[29:35] Speaker 5: You asked for this, didn't you? Now make sure you
[29:37] Speaker 5: come guard me like I'm about to guard you.
[29:39] Speaker 1: That's the second game. No, that's the second. That's in Washington.
[29:43] Speaker 1: That's in D.C. I'm talking about the game in D.C. Oh, no,
[29:46] Speaker 1: I'm talking about the game. Hey, Boogie, it got real.
[29:49] Speaker 5: Gil gave Kobe 60. Talk that trash on the plane,
[29:53] Speaker 5: on the phone, straight to Cole. You want Chet to
[29:56] Speaker 5: have that Kobe energy that Kobe had with you. Kobe
[29:59] Speaker 5: walked past everybody, ain't shaking, they're not a hand. And listen,
[30:03] Speaker 5: the smack on the ass.
[30:04] Speaker 1: Was, hey!
[30:06] Speaker 5: Gil jumped, like, ooh, ooh. He was like, you asked
[30:09] Speaker 5: for this, right? You was talking to me? And make
[30:11] Speaker 5: sure you come guard me like I'm about to guard you.
[30:13] Speaker 5: You want Chet to be that, but Chet ain't Kobe.
[30:16] Speaker 5: He ain't going to walk out there with that type
[30:18] Speaker 5: of energy.
[30:18] Speaker 3: He better be something.
[30:21] Speaker 1: But was he me in that moment? Huh? Was he me?
[30:25] Speaker 6: Meaning that man is savoring what I did to him.
[30:29] Speaker 1: You did jump when he smacked you. Yeah. Like, ooh.
[30:33] Speaker 1: The mentality. He was like, who there? He was like,
[30:36] Speaker 1: who there? Now, Brendan. You're supposed to remember those. Now, Brendan.
[30:41] Speaker 1: Gil went at Kobe all game.
[30:42] Speaker 6: How did the game, like, remember, he wants his get
[30:46] Speaker 6: back with you.
[30:46] Speaker 3: Exactly.
[30:47] Speaker 6: What did that game turn into the first beginning of
[30:49] Speaker 6: the game?
[30:49] Speaker 1: Gil versus Kobe one-on-one.
[30:50] Speaker 5: One-on-one.
[30:53] Speaker 1: One-on-one.
[30:53] Speaker 6: He's coming at me. He's coming at me. I don't
[30:58] Speaker 6: give a fuck about the win. He wants to see
[31:00] Speaker 6: if I'm going to stand.
[31:00] Speaker 3: Up to him.
[31:01] Speaker 1: I got to guard him. He's going to guard me.
[31:04] Speaker 1: It's war. That's the only way I'm going to get...
[31:06] Speaker 1: You hit him with the ass. That was....
[31:12] Speaker 6: I'm coming after you.
[31:13] Speaker 1: I want to see if you're going to fight.
[31:14] Speaker 6: If I would have had 12, 15, didn't play that,
[31:18] Speaker 6: Cole wasn't respecting me as no player. Like, I'm shooting
[31:21] Speaker 6: a clip out of this bitch.
[31:23] Speaker 3: And Chet could challenge him in many other ways besides
[31:25] Speaker 3: in the past.
[31:26] Speaker 1: That's what I'm saying. His challenge ain't going to be
[31:28] Speaker 1: the same.
[31:28] Speaker 6: I might push that motherfucker when I'm cool with that.
[31:31] Speaker 1: You know how they do this shit right here? Yeah,
[31:33] Speaker 1: I'm cool with that.
[31:35] Speaker 6: If I'm Chet, I'm smacking the fuck out of that.
[31:36] Speaker 1: And I'm cool with that.
[31:39] Speaker 6: You've got to set the table because he needs to.
[31:42] Speaker 1: Know you've changed.
[31:44] Speaker 5: You're talking, once again, from a true offensive star standpoint.
[31:51] Speaker 1: Chet's a role player.
[31:52] Speaker 5: I played with one of the better championship role players,
[31:55] Speaker 5: Tyson Chandler. When we played the Lakers, they were like, yo,
[32:01] Speaker 5: We need, Brendan, we need you and Tyson. We need
[32:03] Speaker 5: y'all standing up to Powell and Bynum. We need, hey,
[32:08] Speaker 5: ain't no back down. We need y'all setting every screen. Hard,
[32:12] Speaker 5: rolling to the basket. We putting these dudes in. Hey,
[32:13] Speaker 5: we need y'all finishing, rebounding. And Tyson is mad energy.
[32:17] Speaker 5: tyson can't go one-on-one with pal gasol he ain't that's
[32:21] Speaker 5: why i'm bringing that up he ain't that style player
[32:24] Speaker 5: he can affect the game and we won because of
[32:26] Speaker 5: tyson played great but tyson was out working running down
[32:30] Speaker 5: the court yo he's screening rolling if tyson would have.
[32:33] Speaker 3: Tried to do what you want to.
[32:35] Speaker 1: Do making a tough cat.
[32:36] Speaker 5: Tyson tyson catching loves he's out he's running down the court.
[32:41] Speaker 1: I'm not talking about Max's mentality.
[32:44] Speaker 5: Hold on a second. I'm glad you said that. A
[32:46] Speaker 5: Max player is just what they paid you. Just because
[32:49] Speaker 5: somebody paid you the max don't mean you a real
[32:51] Speaker 5: max player. That's just what the sound. You a max
[32:55] Speaker 5: player on the first and the 15th. You're all NBA. All-star,
[32:58] Speaker 5: all NBA.
[32:59] Speaker 1: I don't care. He's not that type. Listen, there's a
[33:01] Speaker 1: difference between. You'll never be Wimby. There's a difference between Wimby.
[33:04] Speaker 1: I don't want to be Chet right now. No, I
[33:06] Speaker 1: get it. I'm agreeing with you. It's mentality. I'm agreeing.
[33:09] Speaker 1: I'm agreeing. I'm saying, like, I'm just saying there's going.
[33:13] Speaker 6: To be a point in a game where you need
[33:17] Speaker 6: your team.
[33:17] Speaker 1: To make a stand.
[33:19] Speaker 6: To know this is not the same as last year.
[33:22] Speaker 6: You don't think those boys looked at that stat sheet
[33:24] Speaker 6: and say, dog, this nigga scared of that.
[33:27] Speaker 1: I'm going to tell you.
[33:28] Speaker 4: I don't know they looked at it because they drafted
[33:30] Speaker 4: to replace him.
[33:31] Speaker 1: And we ain't going to see her act like we
[33:33] Speaker 1: don't see what's going on.
[33:34] Speaker 5: Oh, they putting the feet to the fire, homie.
[33:36] Speaker 1: Hey, we need you to step up.
[33:38] Speaker 4: We need you to be this president that we drafted.
[33:41] Speaker 3: You for and we paid you to be.
[33:43] Speaker 1: If not, We got this young stud ready. They have
[33:47] Speaker 1: contract issues in the near future.
[33:49] Speaker 2: They have contract issues over there.
[33:52] Speaker 4: It's not that I feel like they're ignoring the issue.
[33:55] Speaker 4: They're putting fire to his ass, bro.
[33:57] Speaker 1: That's the organization. I'm talking about teammates. Nah, but.
[34:00] Speaker 4: Them two, you think they have a conversation with Shea? Hey,
[34:03] Speaker 4: we think about drafting this big kid. I'm talking about
[34:05] Speaker 4: in that game. That game. It's all a result from
[34:08] Speaker 4: the game.
[34:08] Speaker 6: How many times have we looked at players on our
[34:10] Speaker 6: team and jump balled? They looking at somebody and you
[34:13] Speaker 6: can see the fear.
[34:14] Speaker 1: We'll say what? Yeah, he ain't got it tonight.
[34:17] Speaker 6: But.
[34:18] Speaker 3: Hey, listen.
[34:19] Speaker 5: You're... You're right in the aspect that Chet has to
[34:22] Speaker 5: stand up and fight for Wimby. But at the same time,
[34:26] Speaker 5: you're wrong about the way that Chet has to do it.
[34:29] Speaker 5: Chet has to stand up to Wimby like, man, I'm
[34:31] Speaker 5: fighting you for this rebound. Maybe take a hard foul
[34:34] Speaker 5: to start the game off.
[34:35] Speaker 1: When Wimby starts.
[34:36] Speaker 5: Doing all that face up, get into him and challenge him.
[34:41] Speaker 5: And then when you get a stop, yeah, we're here now.
[34:44] Speaker 5: You want him to go do it offensively. That ain't
[34:46] Speaker 5: going to work. He gonna have to go out here.
[34:48] Speaker 5: I'll work that man and he's gonna have to do
[34:50] Speaker 5: it defensively keep looking at me like that You can slap.
[34:53] Speaker 1: The floor if you want to.
[34:57] Speaker 6: You can slap the floor all you want to women
[34:59] Speaker 6: shooting that bitch from half court with one leg You.
[35:02] Speaker 1: Can be the defensive nigga all you want and take
[35:04] Speaker 1: two shots.
[35:05] Speaker 6: Women gonna be like oh this nigga's ass Don't worry
[35:07] Speaker 6: about it. You gotta show me that they're comparing us.
[35:10] Speaker 6: You gotta match me somehow If I take 20 shots,
[35:15] Speaker 6: you got to at least take 12. If you got
[35:18] Speaker 6: to take 12, you average 18 in a regular season.
[35:21] Speaker 6: You're saying you're going to average 10? 17 and 8.
[35:24] Speaker 2: He was one of two players that averaged 17 and
[35:26] Speaker 2: 8 with 55% shooting. Him and Jokic averaged 12 field
[35:30] Speaker 2: goal attempts per game in the playoff series before the Spurs.
[35:32] Speaker 1: That dropped to 7. field goal. Come on, man.
[35:35] Speaker 2: In that seven game period.
[35:37] Speaker 6: That man playing one side of basketball. He ain't playing
[35:41] Speaker 6: no side. Yeah, Wimby's not playing no defense.
[35:44] Speaker 1: I ain't got to guard him.
[35:45] Speaker 5: I mean, he's 7'2, right?
[35:49] Speaker 1: 7'3. He only averaged 10, 11 shots a game. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
[35:52] Speaker 5: That's the third option.
[35:54] Speaker 1: 10, 11 shots.
[35:55] Speaker 3: But I'm playing against him. That bitch bumping up to
[35:57] Speaker 3: 14 this game. He can find other shots.
[36:00] Speaker 1: This game tonight?
[36:01] Speaker 3: Especially when Wemby's going after every shot. Follow right behind him.
[36:04] Speaker 3: That's where it is.
[36:04] Speaker 1: This game tonight, I'm going for 14 shots.
[36:07] Speaker 3: Every shot that he don't block, you should be able
[36:08] Speaker 3: to get the rebound and get a putback or something.
[36:11] Speaker 1: That's what I'm saying.
[36:12] Speaker 3: That's extra three shots.
[36:12] Speaker 5: That's why I use the Tyson Chandler comparison.
[36:15] Speaker 1: Yeah.
[36:15] Speaker 5: Because if you want Tyson to go at Pau Gasol,
[36:17] Speaker 5: that ain't going to work. But you can still go
[36:20] Speaker 5: at him. It just ain't, throw me the ball on
[36:22] Speaker 5: the block. No, you go at him like, I'm blocking
[36:24] Speaker 5: your shot. I'm getting offensive rebounds. I'm running the court.
[36:27] Speaker 5: He needs to prove that he can stand up to
[36:30] Speaker 5: Wimby from an energy factor. You're saying the way Gilbert
[36:33] Speaker 5: Arenas would have attacked it. But he ain't Gilbert Arenas
[36:36] Speaker 5: from a scoring confidence standpoint. It ain't going to work.
[36:39] Speaker 6: Okay, one, I'm the defensive player of the year. Meaning, Wimby,
[36:45] Speaker 6: one you're not a threat anyway now that i know
[36:48] Speaker 6: you're scared to shoot you're not a threat offensively i'm
[36:51] Speaker 6: way better than you so all that defensive shit goes
[36:54] Speaker 6: out of the window because i can literally say hey
[36:58] Speaker 6: get out the way nobody's doing shit so if you
[37:00] Speaker 6: don't have the balls to when i'm going at you
[37:04] Speaker 6: every fucking play down if you don't have the balls
[37:06] Speaker 6: and say yo no no come on get that shit
[37:08] Speaker 6: to me I don't give a fuck what you're doing.
[37:10] Speaker 6: You're not going to gain your confidence in this game.
[37:12] Speaker 6: I don't give a fuck how many times you block me.
[37:14] Speaker 6: I get to keep shooting.
[37:17] Speaker 1: I can be 9'45.
[37:20] Speaker 4: So how would you suggest him gaining his confidence if
[37:22] Speaker 4: he's not going to get the shot attempts? If he
[37:25] Speaker 4: can't match up with Wimby the same way Wimby is
[37:27] Speaker 4: coming at him, how is he supposed to gain the confidence?
[37:30] Speaker 1: It's all illusion, man. It's all illusion.
[37:33] Speaker 6: This whole game is illusion. You're trying to pretend that
[37:38] Speaker 6: you're better than you are. So there's moments in the
[37:40] Speaker 6: game where you can.
[37:43] Speaker 1: This is it.
[37:44] Speaker 6: You block the shot, you yell in that motherfucker's face.
[37:47] Speaker 6: You get a technical. You dunk on him, you better
[37:50] Speaker 6: get a technical. You better stop the clock, make the
[37:53] Speaker 6: motherfucker think. I don't want to see you dunk to me,
[37:56] Speaker 6: I just hurry up and take the ball and we
[37:57] Speaker 6: go back down the court and then I get to
[37:59] Speaker 6: play offense again.
[38:00] Speaker 1: Hell no. Dunk on it, grab the nigga, fall. Tech! Yeah, tech.
[38:05] Speaker 1: Now what happens?
[38:06] Speaker 6: The whole fucking arena shut up, doing this.
[38:09] Speaker 1: Shit right here. Now he got to look at that
[38:11] Speaker 1: shit on.
[38:11] Speaker 6: The jumbotron, his ass getting dunked on, they both falling.
[38:14] Speaker 6: Whoever can shoot the free throw, I don't give a
[38:15] Speaker 6: fuck at that point. I stop the moment for him
[38:20] Speaker 6: to think.
[38:22] Speaker 1: Versus getting dunked.
[38:23] Speaker 6: On, and then, you know, you take the ball out,
[38:25] Speaker 6: they go down there, now this nigga come in there,
[38:27] Speaker 6: do one of these.
[38:27] Speaker 1: Hey, listen, man.
[38:29] Speaker 5: Well, Jose, you can change who you was, but that's
[38:31] Speaker 5: just the top layer. Man, you was who you was
[38:33] Speaker 5: before you got here. Ain't nothing about what you're saying.
[38:35] Speaker 1: I was 17. I was an All-NBA.
[38:38] Speaker 3: Huh?
[38:39] Speaker 1: I said boss.
[38:40] Speaker 5: Nothing about what you're saying relates to what Chet has
[38:43] Speaker 5: shown us from a personality standpoint his first couple of
[38:45] Speaker 5: years in the league.
[38:47] Speaker 6: I agree with you.
[38:48] Speaker 1: That ain't him. If he was that boss. We wouldn't
[38:51] Speaker 1: be having that conversation.
[38:51] Speaker 5: Wait, wait, wait.
[38:52] Speaker 6: First of all, I was an all-NBA player before Wimby
[38:55] Speaker 6: got here.
[38:56] Speaker 5: We ain't saying that. We talking about what you're talking
[38:57] Speaker 5: about from a mentality standpoint.
[39:00] Speaker 6: I was 18 a game before we played against Wimby.
[39:02] Speaker 1: What did they call me to? seven what was.
[39:05] Speaker 6: It seven no no no i'm talking about the point
[39:08] Speaker 6: i'm saying what what i was what i was like
[39:10] Speaker 6: we're not saying go get 20 nigga you better stay
[39:13] Speaker 6: where you.
[39:13] Speaker 5: At i'm saying what you said all that rah-rah in
[39:15] Speaker 5: his face that ain't who.
[39:16] Speaker 6: Jay deray player of the year better change number one
[39:19] Speaker 6: pick maybe i'm somebody 11.7 rebounds.
[39:21] Speaker 1: For that game i thought about it. I thought about it.
[39:27] Speaker 1: He was that guy. We're going to see what he's
[39:29] Speaker 1: talking about. He was popping shit. Mini ha ha.
[39:32] Speaker 5: High school.
[39:32] Speaker 1: He was popping shit. Mini ha ha. He was popping shit.
[39:35] Speaker 6: Man, he was fucking with me up in the Olympics.
[39:37] Speaker 1: He was popping. I had to take it back. Got
[39:38] Speaker 1: that motherfucker out there crying. Little Frenchie out there crying.
[39:41] Speaker 1: What I'm not going to do is ignore it. He
[39:43] Speaker 1: tucked his tail. Yeah, he did. He tucked his tail.
[39:46] Speaker 4: Now, where we go from here is really more the question, but-
[39:50] Speaker 4: To Gil's point, he was popping shit early.
[39:53] Speaker 5: When I watched him in college, I didn't really see
[39:55] Speaker 5: Chet popping like that in college.
[39:56] Speaker 1: It was easy, though. He was popping shit. He had
[40:00] Speaker 1: a little swag for him.
[40:02] Speaker 5: Timmy was popping more than him.
[40:04] Speaker 3: If Chet don't get right, they're not getting past San Antonio.
[40:07] Speaker 3: I know that.
[40:13] Speaker 2: We got to move on from this convo. We got
[40:15] Speaker 2: some breaking news, ladies and gentlemen. Paul George and the
[40:17] Speaker 2: Celtics are putting... belt to ass.
[40:19] Speaker 6: On the fucking news belt but it's not as strong
[40:24] Speaker 6: of a belt as it was good we're up 20
[40:25] Speaker 6: something not only up 13 but pg 31 points right now.
[40:29] Speaker 3: Four steals five minutes ago in the third quarter historic debut.
[40:32] Speaker 4: Damn et picked pg yesterday too let.
[40:36] Speaker 3: Me uh efficient 10 for 14 hooping though let me
[40:39] Speaker 3: uh i gotta i gotta i'ma just officially say it
[40:42] Speaker 3: yeah this shit's Chet is done.
[40:44] Speaker 6: There's nothing he can do with Wimby. When Wimby was 17, yeah,
[40:49] Speaker 6: USA won.
[40:51] Speaker 1: The USA team won.
[40:53] Speaker 6: Wimby had 22, 8 rebounds, 8 assists. Chet, at 19
[40:58] Speaker 6: years old, had 10 points.
[41:01] Speaker 1: Five. But it was a clean tank, yo. So, yeah,
[41:04] Speaker 1: USA won the championship.
[41:06] Speaker 6: But, but, uh, when we was putting boot to ass,
[41:08] Speaker 6: don't disrespect 17.
[41:11] Speaker 5: 17, we don't disrespect our team.
[41:14] Speaker 1: You better get right. But I look at him. I
[41:16] Speaker 1: don't tend to be real good. Be real clean. Now,
[41:18] Speaker 1: you know what I'm saying? Keep the kids. You got
[41:20] Speaker 1: to think about it. Think about when he plays Rudy
[41:22] Speaker 1: Goldberg too.
[41:23] Speaker 6: We seen like that confidence that he was doing against
[41:26] Speaker 6: when being the world seen it.
[41:29] Speaker 1: We couldn't get that back.
[41:31] Speaker 6: You can't reverse what the guy did to you and say,
[41:35] Speaker 6: you're lunching me to him. Like there's confidence that you
[41:41] Speaker 6: put into somebody that you physically got to take out.
[41:45] Speaker 6: Or somehow that extra oof, they get that juice when
[41:49] Speaker 6: they see you. There's guys that you've played against when
[41:53] Speaker 6: you see them.
[41:54] Speaker 1: You know, I don't give a fuck where they rank at.
[41:56] Speaker 1: I got here. I got his number. He's good. Al Jefferson? Wait,
[41:59] Speaker 1: what are you?
[42:01] Speaker 6: That was the shit you used to talk the most
[42:02] Speaker 6: shit to Al Jefferson.
[42:03] Speaker 1: Who, me? I'm not going for that. I'm not going
[42:06] Speaker 1: for that. Nah.
[42:08] Speaker 6: You better learn how to shit with your left hand.
[42:10] Speaker 1: Like, you be like, whoa, big, big.
[42:12] Speaker 5: Hey, listen, that's not, that's respectful shit, though.
[42:15] Speaker 1: But it was the only. See, Al on good terms, man.
[42:17] Speaker 6: I know, but it was the only time that he really, like,
[42:20] Speaker 6: was popping his shit.
[42:22] Speaker 1: Okay. And Alex Evans averaged 20-something.
[42:24] Speaker 3: Yeah, 20 and 10 down there.
[42:26] Speaker 1: But against BP, like, yeah, nah, you ain't going to
[42:28] Speaker 1: go all right. I just jumped on my side. I
[42:29] Speaker 1: ain't going for this little punk face.
[42:31] Speaker 5: I just jumped on his left and didn't go for no–
[42:32] Speaker 5: I just jumped on that right hand and didn't go
[42:35] Speaker 5: for no punk face.
[42:35] Speaker 2: All right, well, let's keep this thing moving. We got
[42:38] Speaker 2: to head over to the Eastern Conference. Paul George leading
[42:40] Speaker 2: the NBA in scoring right now. Paul George leading the NBA.
[42:44] Speaker 5: How you hype for Boston with a Lakers jersey on?
[42:47] Speaker 1: How you hype for Boston with a Lakers jersey on?
[42:50] Speaker 3: Tatum only got 11 and 7?
[42:52] Speaker 1: 5-17 from the field. 5-17? Yeah.
[42:55] Speaker 3: I mean, it was up 20 a second ago. Now
[42:57] Speaker 3: it's 12.
[42:58] Speaker 1: Two light-skinned. It's can't dominate.
[43:00] Speaker 3: Jalen Dern, 19-8.
[43:01] Speaker 6: Paul George is the point guard on my 2K team.
[43:06] Speaker 1: I mean, he plays just like this, too. Let's talk
[43:08] Speaker 1: a little Paul George.
[43:09] Speaker 2: We were going to talk Paul George anyway, and he
[43:11] Speaker 2: went out and has a 31-piece right now, a little
[43:14] Speaker 2: under five minutes to go in the third quarter. But
[43:15] Speaker 2: Paul George's two seasons with the Sixers left much to
[43:18] Speaker 2: be desired as he was hampered by injury and off-court issues.
[43:21] Speaker 2: PG appeared to in just 37 games last season, which
[43:24] Speaker 2: included a 25-game suspension for violating the league's anti-drug policy.
[43:29] Speaker 2: So he was a part of the blockbuster trade this offseason,
[43:32] Speaker 2: which brought him to Boston while sending Jalen Brown to
[43:34] Speaker 2: the Sixers. During an interview with the Boston Globes' Gary Washburn,
[43:38] Speaker 2: PG had this to say about his playing with the
[43:41] Speaker 2: Celtics so far. He said, I'm ecstatic with being here,
[43:43] Speaker 2: being around these guys. Like, they brought something else out
[43:46] Speaker 2: of me that, to be quite frank, has been buried.
[43:49] Speaker 2: And that's just a different passion. There's a love again
[43:52] Speaker 2: for this game. So George also had this to share
[43:55] Speaker 2: with the Boston media about those comments recently.
[43:58] Speaker 8: Paul, Gary's awesome article dropped on the things you said
[44:01] Speaker 8: that was so glowing of the organization. And what have
[44:04] Speaker 8: you seen so far in the first couple months of
[44:06] Speaker 8: being here that made you want to speak that way
[44:08] Speaker 8: and made you feel that way?
[44:10] Speaker 1: Just my time, my experience here.
[44:14] Speaker 7: Obviously, it's been short, but first impression has been everything.
[44:19] Speaker 1: It's been.
[44:21] Speaker 7: First class organization, top to bottom. It's been a great
[44:28] Speaker 7: start for me. It's been a great start for me
[44:30] Speaker 7: and my family. We're looking forward to it.
[44:34] Speaker 5: Looking forward to what's ahead.
[44:36] Speaker 1: What did surprise you the most?
[44:38] Speaker 6: What has stood out to you the most compared to
[44:39] Speaker 6: what you thought it would be like?
[44:42] Speaker 1: Honestly, I didn't know what to expect.
[44:44] Speaker 7: But you've got to kind of assume that they do
[44:47] Speaker 7: things the right way with how successful they've been for
[44:52] Speaker 7: years and years. So, I mean, I didn't know what
[44:57] Speaker 7: to expect coming into it. I just, you know, I
[45:00] Speaker 7: was more so, you know, appreciative. You get to play
[45:03] Speaker 7: for such a story, franchise. And, you know, especially at
[45:09] Speaker 7: this point in my career, I thought that was just
[45:11] Speaker 7: special in its own. So, you know, I was, I've
[45:16] Speaker 7: been for sure grateful the expectations has for sure been
[45:20] Speaker 7: exceeded since I've been here.
[45:23] Speaker 2: Paul George, when he first got to the Celtics, said
[45:24] Speaker 2: he was going to be there to help out Jason Tatum.
[45:27] Speaker 2: He was fine with being a passenger. He appears to
[45:29] Speaker 2: have been bullshitting, ladies and gentlemen, because he's out here
[45:31] Speaker 2: cooking right now in the Celtics' season opener against the
[45:34] Speaker 2: Pistons in Detroit. 3 p.m. start from Adam Silver. Wild
[45:37] Speaker 2: Gills Arena on the air. We're giving you live updates
[45:40] Speaker 2: because we care about y'all. Paul George currently has played
[45:43] Speaker 2: 21 minutes in this game so far, has 31 points
[45:45] Speaker 2: on 10 of 14 shooting, six of eight from three,
[45:48] Speaker 2: five for five from the line, four steals as well
[45:52] Speaker 2: in this game.
[45:52] Speaker 1: Jason Tatum, 11 points, five of 17 shooting.
[45:55] Speaker 2: Just one game. Like we talked about, the Celtics were
[45:57] Speaker 2: up 20 at one point. They're up nine right now
[46:00] Speaker 2: with 440 to go in that third quarter. But let's
[46:02] Speaker 2: talk a little bit about Paul George. and just saying
[46:06] Speaker 2: that this new environment, this new experience coming to the
[46:08] Speaker 2: Celtics has made him love basketball.
[46:10] Speaker 3: I'm too happy about that shit.
[46:13] Speaker 1: My bad. Not really.
[46:14] Speaker 6: I mean, if you just look at his time in Philly,
[46:16] Speaker 6: he averaged 20.
[46:18] Speaker 3: But he said he had found love for the game.
[46:20] Speaker 3: I mean, I said, I don't mind. I look at
[46:22] Speaker 3: it in a positive way, but some fans might look
[46:24] Speaker 3: at this like, damn, you didn't love basketball when you
[46:26] Speaker 3: were here?
[46:29] Speaker 1: Didn't average 20. He averaged 16 his first season there,
[46:31] Speaker 1: averaged 17 last season. There's times where you're, In situations.
[46:34] Speaker 1: You got his cookin' the books, man. That ain't 20, man.
[46:36] Speaker 1: I mean, 17, we're gonna round up. Round up three?
[46:39] Speaker 6: Hell yeah, I can round up three.
[46:42] Speaker 1: Point three? A whole three? If I make 17 million,
[46:47] Speaker 1: I'm just gonna round it up to 20. You can
[46:50] Speaker 1: say $ 3 million.
[46:52] Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
[46:53] Speaker 1: Not in the public. That's that new man. No, that's
[46:55] Speaker 1: the old man. How much you got in the bank?
[46:58] Speaker 1: About $ 25 million.
[46:59] Speaker 6: It says 17. You know, some extra shit that.
[47:00] Speaker 1: Go in there. Nearly $ 20 million. What'd you say?
[47:03] Speaker 6: You say, whatever the guy says, I just cut that
[47:06] Speaker 6: shit in half.
[47:07] Speaker 1: Well, how much you got in the bank? Yeah, I
[47:08] Speaker 1: got $ 20 million. He'd be like, 10.
[47:12] Speaker 7: They lying.
[47:14] Speaker 6: No, but what he does well, especially at this age,
[47:22] Speaker 6: that's the perfect situation.
[47:24] Speaker 1: Right?
[47:25] Speaker 6: It was, it's, A bunch of shooters. He doesn't have
[47:29] Speaker 6: to start the offense. Swing, swing, everybody's in rotation. Now
[47:32] Speaker 6: you have a guy who actually got jerk in him.
[47:35] Speaker 6: I mean, it's a great offense for him. So that's
[47:39] Speaker 6: why I said when you really think about JB numbers,
[47:43] Speaker 6: numbers-wide is where analytics kick in. Like, well, Paul George
[47:48] Speaker 6: offensively kind of matches this.
[47:51] Speaker 3: Like, you know what I mean?
[47:52] Speaker 1: Like, when he was playing before he got to Philly.
[47:53] Speaker 6: 22, 4, and 5.
[47:57] Speaker 1: He can do this. He can do this.
[47:59] Speaker 3: Jalen was averaging, what, 28 last year?
[48:01] Speaker 1: Last year, we're talking about between.
[48:03] Speaker 6: I'm like, one's averaging 27, the other's averaging about 22, 23.
[48:06] Speaker 1: Rodgers can do that. We get more shooting. You know
[48:09] Speaker 1: what I mean? You can lie to yourself and do that.
[48:12] Speaker 2: But when this trade first went down, everybody thought that
[48:15] Speaker 2: the Celtics got fleeced coming off of Jalen Brown.
[48:17] Speaker 3: Still can't think that.
[48:18] Speaker 1: Game one.
[48:19] Speaker 3: No, no, no, no.
[48:20] Speaker 6: It's totally different. It You did get fleece in the
[48:25] Speaker 6: sense of we was questioning can JB be a number one.
[48:34] Speaker 6: And there was an opportunity and he seized a moment,
[48:39] Speaker 6: which means you literally traded a guy who actually proved.
[48:44] Speaker 1: Yeah.
[48:45] Speaker 3: For a guy that hasn't proved.
[48:46] Speaker 1: You know what I mean? So it's like you now have.
[48:49] Speaker 6: Two real number one players on the same team, which
[48:52] Speaker 6: is hard to get. And one is willing to say,
[48:56] Speaker 6: I can be number two. When I need to be
[48:59] Speaker 6: number one, I'll step up and do it. So when
[49:01] Speaker 6: you trade them for someone who's willing to just be
[49:03] Speaker 6: number two, you know, you lose a lot.
[49:07] Speaker 1: Of value with that.
[49:08] Speaker 3: And this is the year JT got a show that
[49:11] Speaker 3: he can take this team better past what JB did
[49:14] Speaker 3: last year.
[49:15] Speaker 6: Now, the problem is, there's a middle ground. with this.
[49:20] Speaker 6: Like this game right now, Tatum's struggling. If I'm you,
[49:26] Speaker 6: just get the win by any means necessary.
[49:29] Speaker 1: You know what I mean?
[49:30] Speaker 6: You just want the win here. The numbers will catch
[49:32] Speaker 6: up later. Just get the win because you don't want
[49:36] Speaker 6: to lose and play bad.
[49:38] Speaker 1: Right?
[49:39] Speaker 6: Averaging 28 and doing JB, you don't have to do that.
[49:41] Speaker 6: You've done that before. Just trying to get that record and,
[49:45] Speaker 6: you know, show you can lead, that's all you have
[49:48] Speaker 6: to do.
[49:49] Speaker 1: So Tatum does have eight assists, right? They're stressing. I
[49:52] Speaker 1: got to be the shit.
[49:53] Speaker 4: Yeah, I'm looking at this a little differently, especially with,
[49:56] Speaker 4: you know, you get rid of the piece as big
[49:59] Speaker 4: as Jalen Brown, the conference finals MVP. And it's more
[50:05] Speaker 4: so for … And finals MVP. Yeah, finals MVP. And
[50:08] Speaker 4: you basically make it clear cut, like, Jason Tatum is
[50:12] Speaker 4: our guy moving forward. So I think we've all agreed
[50:16] Speaker 4: that this is a proven year for Jason Tatum as
[50:19] Speaker 4: far as being that guy on his own team. So
[50:26] Speaker 4: we've had this conversation in the past. And, like, for me,
[50:29] Speaker 4: if I'm this guy that's having to prove to the
[50:32] Speaker 4: world that I can't arrive to this occasion, I'm coming
[50:35] Speaker 4: out the gate swinging. I'm showing you exactly who I
[50:37] Speaker 4: am game one. I'm setting the tone early. So, and
[50:41] Speaker 4: obviously it's a lot of seeds.
[50:42] Speaker 3: Got 18 shots up.
[50:44] Speaker 1: And that's what I'm saying. As far as where this
[50:47] Speaker 1: is going, if you're aging.
[50:48] Speaker 5: Only a four-point game now.
[50:49] Speaker 1: Right.
[50:50] Speaker 4: If you're aging superstar, former superstar is the one leading
[50:55] Speaker 4: game one. game one straight out the gate season just started.
[50:59] Speaker 3: It happens man it ain't supposed to happen he's gonna
[51:03] Speaker 3: end up taking 25 shots tonight that's cool that's great
[51:05] Speaker 3: he's coming out swinging all.
[51:07] Speaker 5: Right hey man he took 18 shots that's.
[51:09] Speaker 4: What i said hey man this is like this is
[51:12] Speaker 4: my lead guy this is my tone setter.
[51:14] Speaker 6: But that's the problem i've been the tone setter this
[51:17] Speaker 6: whole time since i got here.
[51:20] Speaker 1: We don't know that. But we have.
[51:22] Speaker 2: But you got to reset the tone.
[51:24] Speaker 1: We don't know that.
[51:25] Speaker 6: Because it was always insurance with Jay LeBron.
[51:28] Speaker 1: That's not my problem. I've been the number one guy
[51:31] Speaker 1: this whole time. That's not true. I have. MVP voting,
[51:35] Speaker 1: all NBAs, all of them.
[51:37] Speaker 6: Who took home the hardware? This has been my team.
[51:39] Speaker 1: The whole time. Who took home the hardware? How is
[51:41] Speaker 1: it your team when your team took home the hardware? What?
[51:45] Speaker 1: How is it his team? Because someone's voting. Right? So
[51:49] Speaker 1: it's holding for that. So, I mean, if they don't
[51:51] Speaker 1: like me, I don't like them. It don't matter. But
[51:53] Speaker 1: this has been my team the whole time.
[51:55] Speaker 5: Listen.
[51:57] Speaker 6: So can I prove that I'm the what exactly?
[52:01] Speaker 3: No, it's not proving that's your team. You're proving that
[52:03] Speaker 3: you can, with it being your team, you can win
[52:05] Speaker 3: without that secondary person behind you.
[52:07] Speaker 1: Who has?
[52:09] Speaker 6: Did Tim win without Ginobili or Tatum?
[52:12] Speaker 3: Before J. Statham came back, they were still.
[52:14] Speaker 1: Danny's talking regular season.
[52:15] Speaker 3: Regular season.
[52:16] Speaker 1: Listen... So I'm winning without that number two. Then I
[52:19] Speaker 1: got another number two. I got 30 right now. What
[52:21] Speaker 1: are you going to say? I'm just saying.
[52:22] Speaker 5: You know what I mean?
[52:25] Speaker 3: The record's got to... They were number two in the
[52:27] Speaker 3: East last year with him missing out 80% of the season.
[52:30] Speaker 1: But again, you're comparing me to....
[52:33] Speaker 6: Then my second option. You're asking me, am I a
[52:37] Speaker 6: number one option while I was a number one option?
[52:41] Speaker 6: While I have this guy, I'm averaging 28, all NBA
[52:44] Speaker 6: first team. You're voting for me as an MVP candidate.
[52:50] Speaker 6: Now you're questioning me because I'm gone.
[52:53] Speaker 1: And he's an MVP candidate? Yes. That's called divide. Yes.
[52:58] Speaker 1: You're trying to divide us. You're not trying to... Actually,
[53:00] Speaker 1: they did divide us. I know. That's exactly what you
[53:03] Speaker 1: did to Kobe. Like, you got... You got.
[53:05] Speaker 6: You have Batman and was like, okay, yeah, you're robbing.
[53:11] Speaker 6: And then it was like, all right, Superman and Batman.
[53:14] Speaker 1: You know what?
[53:14] Speaker 6: Superman and Batman sound too dynamic. Let's break this shit up.
[53:18] Speaker 1: Who can lead the team? Yeah, so tell me when
[53:21] Speaker 1: Kobe came out and allowed... Who can we say next?
[53:26] Speaker 1: Andrew Biden... it still don't add up.
[53:29] Speaker 6: Andrew Biden, no, but that's not, no.
[53:31] Speaker 4: When this all allowed Andrew Biden to come out and
[53:33] Speaker 4: control the game.
[53:35] Speaker 1: No, but we're not talking about Andrew Biden.
[53:37] Speaker 6: When it was time for Kobe to prove that he
[53:39] Speaker 6: was that guy.
[53:40] Speaker 1: Uh-huh.
[53:41] Speaker 4: When did he come out and allow the company or
[53:45] Speaker 4: the guys that are there to help him to lead?
[53:48] Speaker 1: There's always some nice. Out the gate?
[53:50] Speaker 5: I just think it's one game.
[53:53] Speaker 3: It's one game.
[53:54] Speaker 1: To your point, if... That's all we got, Brendan. We
[53:57] Speaker 1: got to overreact. All we got. I said it's a
[54:00] Speaker 1: long season. I'm just saying, setting the tone early.
[54:04] Speaker 5: You can sit you can set that you can come
[54:06] Speaker 5: out and try to set the tone and have a
[54:08] Speaker 5: bad night we're obviously not watching the game i see
[54:11] Speaker 5: 18 shots so that tells me he's being aggressive 100
[54:13] Speaker 5: he's getting a shot but to your point fair or
[54:19] Speaker 5: unfair there's gonna be a lot of people that are
[54:21] Speaker 5: gonna be sitting up there saying okay when jb got
[54:23] Speaker 5: traded you ain't speak up so now we want to
[54:27] Speaker 5: see Can you have this team where J.B.
[54:31] Speaker 1: Was last year?
[54:32] Speaker 3: They haven't talked since the trash.
[54:35] Speaker 5: And on a bigger scale.
[54:37] Speaker 1: He got the harp going.
[54:37] Speaker 5: On a bigger scale.
[54:39] Speaker 1: Stop that. On a bigger scale, J.B. I mean, J.T.
[54:42] Speaker 5: Used to be considered top five, top five. We always
[54:45] Speaker 5: had him because he was first team All-NBA all the time.
[54:47] Speaker 5: Now we got some other guys. Can you go get
[54:50] Speaker 5: your spot back?
[54:51] Speaker 1: Can you?
[54:52] Speaker 5: So that's what this year. This year, obviously, is about
[54:54] Speaker 5: the Celtics trying to win a championship. Can you have
[54:56] Speaker 5: this team in place the same way JB did it?
[54:58] Speaker 3: Yeah.
[54:59] Speaker 5: And can you go back and get that top five
[55:01] Speaker 5: spot that you once had? That's what this is going
[55:03] Speaker 5: to come down to. And I can't judge that off
[55:06] Speaker 5: one game.
[55:07] Speaker 1: Huh?
[55:07] Speaker 3: Because they let go of JB. Because they let go
[55:09] Speaker 3: of JB.
[55:10] Speaker 6: What I'm saying, but we established that already. Y'all drafted
[55:14] Speaker 6: him to be the guy. Two years later, you drafted me,
[55:18] Speaker 6: and I was the guy. So what is the comparison
[55:23] Speaker 6: for anyway?
[55:24] Speaker 1: We won.
[55:25] Speaker 6: You wanted to see? We both built. We both came back.
[55:28] Speaker 6: We both got to the mountaintop. Now this is the
[55:31] Speaker 6: Kobe and Shaq situation where they both are going on
[55:35] Speaker 6: in separate ways and they're going.
[55:37] Speaker 1: To try to figure out how to create their career. Hey,
[55:40] Speaker 1: first game, Chris Mim.
[55:43] Speaker 6: When Shaq left, Chris Mim was out here balling. Yeah,
[55:47] Speaker 6: 23 and 12.
[55:48] Speaker 5: Shout out to Chris Mim, man. He was in my
[55:49] Speaker 5: draft class.
[55:50] Speaker 1: He was in our draft class. He wasn't in our
[55:52] Speaker 1: draft class. He was the year before. Yeah, he was.
[55:55] Speaker 1: He wasn't on my list. You had a list?
[55:57] Speaker 3: He had a list. Damn.
[55:58] Speaker 1: It was a fuck you list. Damn. I got to
[56:00] Speaker 1: scratch the niggas off. I wasn't on it, was I?
[56:02] Speaker 6: No, no.
[56:02] Speaker 1: Okay, good, good, good. Bunch of guards, bunch of guards,
[56:04] Speaker 1: bunch of guards.
[56:05] Speaker 2: So we will talk extensively about Celtics Pistons in addition
[56:08] Speaker 2: to all the other season opening games tomorrow on Gills Arena.
[56:11] Speaker 1: Game's still going on. We'll provide updates. But let's keep
[56:14] Speaker 1: this thing moving.
[56:15] Speaker 2: Season begins tonight, so let's get some predictions ahead of
[56:19] Speaker 2: most of the action tipping off. Obviously, there's one game
[56:21] Speaker 2: going on. But SGA won back-to-back MVPs looking to join
[56:24] Speaker 2: Bill Russell, Wilt, and Larry Bird as the only players
[56:26] Speaker 2: in history with three straight. Right now, Wimby, heavy favorite
[56:30] Speaker 2: to win MVP with 35% of traders on Polymarket picking him,
[56:33] Speaker 2: while Jokic and SGA have the second-best odds at 14%.
[56:37] Speaker 2: But let's get some predictions from the couch. Brennan, starting
[56:40] Speaker 2: with you, who is winning? The most valuable player award
[56:43] Speaker 2: this season.
[56:44] Speaker 1: Let's see what shirt I got on, right? Chet Holmgren. Oh, man.
[56:47] Speaker 1: Chet Holmgren, absolute now.
[56:49] Speaker 5: I'm going with SGA. I think that, obviously, they're going
[56:54] Speaker 5: to be, OKC's going to be one of the better
[56:55] Speaker 5: teams in the NBA. We know he's going to be
[56:57] Speaker 5: out there, damn near leading the league in scoring. They
[56:59] Speaker 5: can complain about the free throws and the new rules.
[57:02] Speaker 5: He's still going to go get what he has to do.
[57:04] Speaker 5: And then he gives you something on the defensive end also.
[57:06] Speaker 5: You're not going at him because you know he can
[57:08] Speaker 5: guard his yard. He might not be first-team all-NBA defense,
[57:11] Speaker 5: but he's good enough. I think that he's going to
[57:13] Speaker 5: be there, so I like what he's going to bring
[57:14] Speaker 5: to the table.
[57:15] Speaker 1: Give me SGA for MVP. You already know what you're
[57:17] Speaker 1: going to say, so go ahead and say it. Are
[57:18] Speaker 1: you going to say Luka? No, I've already said Jokic,
[57:21] Speaker 1: so I got to hedge.
[57:23] Speaker 5: Man, you can't just hedge and say this thing.
[57:27] Speaker 1: No, I already said it.
[57:28] Speaker 6: I said Jokic already, so I got that out in
[57:32] Speaker 6: the atmosphere.
[57:33] Speaker 1: So I'm going to go with another person, so I
[57:34] Speaker 1: have two people. If you ask me next week, I'm
[57:36] Speaker 1: going to have a third, right? So I'm going to
[57:38] Speaker 1: cover my bases correctly.
[57:39] Speaker 5: So you're just going to have your clippers clip up
[57:40] Speaker 5: all the stuff so you look right no matter what?
[57:42] Speaker 1: And you know.
[57:45] Speaker 6: It.
[57:46] Speaker 1: So today, the game is rigged.
[57:49] Speaker 6: So today, I got my man Luca winning the MVP.
[57:56] Speaker 1: He's going to average about 30. I give him. 33
[57:57] Speaker 1: last year.
[57:57] Speaker 3: 33 and a half, I think, last year.
[58:03] Speaker 5: I go 35 with no bronze.
[58:06] Speaker 1: He's so unselfish. If I'm him, I'm going to try
[58:08] Speaker 1: to sneak that triple-double.
[58:11] Speaker 3: You still average 35 with a triple-double.
[58:13] Speaker 6: I'm going to go 35. 35, 10, and 10.
[58:18] Speaker 3: They have to be in winning form, though. You know
[58:20] Speaker 3: how MVP goes. You have to be at least in
[58:21] Speaker 3: the top three or four. It's a solid pick, man.
[58:26] Speaker 1: Six out of eight. It's a solid pick. They'll finish
[58:28] Speaker 1: top three in their division.
[58:29] Speaker 3: I'm with you. I mean, no, I'm not with you.
[58:31] Speaker 3: I like the pick.
[58:32] Speaker 1: The Lakers will finish where? Top three in their division. Oh,
[58:34] Speaker 1: in their division. Okay.
[58:35] Speaker 3: That's three. I think they'll be top five in the West.
[58:39] Speaker 3: I think they'll be top five in the West.
[58:40] Speaker 1: That's three in the division.
[58:43] Speaker 2: Y'all kept Bronny on the squad, so let's go, Lakers.
[58:45] Speaker 2: Good job, Bronny.
[58:47] Speaker 3: No, I don't see voters fatigued. They're not going to
[58:50] Speaker 3: give it to SGA. They're not going to give it
[58:52] Speaker 3: to Jokic. I think it's Wemby's year. But if not,
[58:56] Speaker 3: it's going to be somebody in the East, like whoever's
[58:58] Speaker 3: at the top of the East. If the Knicks end
[58:59] Speaker 3: up being number one, they could finally get somebody. It
[59:02] Speaker 3: could be a Brunson. But I'm going to say Wemby, though.
[59:04] Speaker 3: I think it's Wemby's year. They're not going to give
[59:06] Speaker 3: it to SGA. They're not going to go Jokic. Luka, maybe,
[59:09] Speaker 3: but not going to win enough games. They could be
[59:10] Speaker 3: a four or five seed, but it might not get
[59:12] Speaker 3: them over the edge. In hindsight, I know who Cud's
[59:15] Speaker 3: going with. I'm going to go Wemby.
[59:16] Speaker 1: I already know.
[59:17] Speaker 3: Go ahead.
[59:18] Speaker 1: It's Wemby's year.
[59:18] Speaker 5: I already know who Cud's going with.
[59:20] Speaker 1: I already know. I already know. Trophy going back to
[59:25] Speaker 1: the hood, baby. Why Emberwolf? That motherfucker going to be
[59:28] Speaker 1: in the A. I think he averaging about 26, 27.
[59:32] Speaker 4: I already said I feel like they top three in
[59:35] Speaker 4: the West. I feel like LaMelo going to open up
[59:38] Speaker 4: a whole other layer to his game, along with the
[59:41] Speaker 4: other guys. But I think he's already shown. He's improved
[59:45] Speaker 4: every single year. He's gotten better every single year. He's
[59:47] Speaker 4: still growing. I think it's his year. And it's kind
[59:51] Speaker 4: of under the radar. I think the favorite would be
[59:53] Speaker 4: a guy like Wimby. a Jokic, those type of.
[59:58] Speaker 1: Even Luke.
[59:58] Speaker 4: I think his name will pop up for other reasons
[1:00:03] Speaker 4: outside of them being really good.
[1:00:04] Speaker 1: But... We're going here with you. And man, the Wolves
[1:00:08] Speaker 1: are going to be on that bullshit. They already put
[1:00:09] Speaker 1: the league on notice. We on bullshit all year, man.
[1:00:12] Speaker 1: Catch us outside. If it's somebody from the East, it's Giannis.
[1:00:16] Speaker 3: Miami ain't going to win no game.
[1:00:17] Speaker 6: He's the only one that's going to have the numbers that's.
[1:00:21] Speaker 1: Going to be... He's going to go out.
[1:00:23] Speaker 3: But if they're seven... What does that do?
[1:00:25] Speaker 1: But he's not going to be seven. Giannis could be
[1:00:27] Speaker 1: closer to a triple-double this year. That's what I'm saying.
[1:00:30] Speaker 6: He's going to have the numbers that, like, if there's
[1:00:32] Speaker 6: somebody in the East, it's just going to be like, ooh.
[1:00:37] Speaker 2: Everybody's favorite, Greco-Nigerian. All right, let's keep it moving. 2026
[1:00:40] Speaker 2: draft class, one of the most loaded in recent memory.
[1:00:43] Speaker 2: Big things expected from this group of talented hoopers right now.
[1:00:45] Speaker 2: Cam Boozer, slim favorite to win rookie of the year
[1:00:49] Speaker 2: with Caleb Wilson, Darren Peterson, A.J. DeBonsa, and Kingston Flemings.
[1:00:53] Speaker 2: and Yaxel Lindenberg all in the mix.
[1:00:55] Speaker 3: A hell of a class, bro.
[1:00:56] Speaker 1: We'll start with you. Who wins rookie of the year
[1:00:58] Speaker 1: this season? Uh, I'm going first, Acuff, second, Yaxel. Okay.
[1:01:04] Speaker 4: The reason I say that, I think Acuff has literally
[1:01:07] Speaker 4: nothing to lose. Uh, he's going to get plenty of shots,
[1:01:13] Speaker 4: plenty of opportunities to mess up, which is a good
[1:01:15] Speaker 4: thing for a rookie. Uh, I just feel like he
[1:01:18] Speaker 4: has the most opportunity out of everybody in the rookie class.
[1:01:21] Speaker 4: My second is Yaxel. Um, I think he's walking into
[1:01:25] Speaker 4: a situation to where he's already NBA ready. On top
[1:01:29] Speaker 4: of that, he's already being labeled the second best guy
[1:01:32] Speaker 4: on the.
[1:01:32] Speaker 1: Team behind Steph Curry.
[1:01:34] Speaker 4: So that only shows me that he has a lot
[1:01:35] Speaker 4: of opportunity in front of him as well.
[1:01:38] Speaker 1: So those are my top two guys.
[1:01:39] Speaker 4: The reason I can't say guys like A.J., who I
[1:01:42] Speaker 4: think is incredible, is just he's more in a situation
[1:01:45] Speaker 4: where he's not going to be able to play through
[1:01:47] Speaker 4: every mistake, get every shot opportunity. He's playing next to
[1:01:50] Speaker 4: two guys. uh, all stars and, and Trey young and
[1:01:55] Speaker 4: Anthony Davis and their goal will be, I think their
[1:01:57] Speaker 4: team goal outweighs his individual goal. So that's kind of
[1:02:01] Speaker 4: why he's down the list for me. And, uh, in Chicago,
[1:02:06] Speaker 4: I like Caleb. I think he also has opportunity, but
[1:02:08] Speaker 4: it's just so many young pieces, but I can't really
[1:02:12] Speaker 4: see them being on the same page in order for
[1:02:14] Speaker 4: him to get that.
[1:02:14] Speaker 1: So, uh, that's my, that's my prediction.
[1:02:18] Speaker 3: Uh, I think a lot of them have opportunity, but
[1:02:20] Speaker 3: I'm going Caleb, man. I think it's a pretty easy,
[1:02:23] Speaker 3: obvious choice for me. A lot of people are excited
[1:02:28] Speaker 3: about him. He can do a lot of different things.
[1:02:30] Speaker 3: He's special. But Cam Booz will have a lot of
[1:02:33] Speaker 3: opportunity as well. But I just think he's going to
[1:02:36] Speaker 3: be able to showcase something that he was able to
[1:02:38] Speaker 3: show in college on this next level. So he's stretching
[1:02:42] Speaker 3: the floor now, shooting threes, and handling off the bounce
[1:02:46] Speaker 3: like he was really just a big in college. He's
[1:02:50] Speaker 3: doing all of that, and he has a lot of
[1:02:51] Speaker 3: opportunity over in Chicago. I think he's going to be
[1:02:55] Speaker 3: a bright spot for them. So I'm going Caleb Wilson.
[1:02:57] Speaker 1: Who's the coach in Chicago?
[1:02:58] Speaker 3: Tiago Splitter.
[1:02:59] Speaker 1: Tiago, yeah. You got him from Portland. I like Caleb.
[1:03:04] Speaker 5: He's still looking his up.
[1:03:06] Speaker 3: BG got 33, by the way. They went back up.
[1:03:09] Speaker 3: They went back up nine.
[1:03:10] Speaker 1: I hate to do this because it goes against my character.
[1:03:14] Speaker 1: You on Boozer?
[1:03:16] Speaker 5: But I got to go with Cam Booth. When you
[1:03:18] Speaker 5: talk about opportunities, just real quick, let's run through this
[1:03:21] Speaker 5: Memphis roster. Carson Cooper, Cedric Coward, Zach Eady, Jeremy Grant,
[1:03:26] Speaker 5: Taylor Hendricks, Gigi Jackson, Ty Jerome, Chris Murray, Scottie Pippen Jr.,
[1:03:33] Speaker 5: Quentin Post, Prosper, Javon Small, Cam Spencer, Isaiah Stewart, Jalen Wells.
[1:03:39] Speaker 5: There ain't nobody taking no shots away from Cam Booth
[1:03:41] Speaker 5: on that whole roster.
[1:03:42] Speaker 1: He's going to get a chance to shoot. Obviously, he's
[1:03:45] Speaker 1: going to rebound. Then he's a little bit of a
[1:03:48] Speaker 1: throwback boogie. He'll go in there. I like him.
[1:03:50] Speaker 5: He'll go in there and quick seal in the lane
[1:03:52] Speaker 5: and get physical.
[1:03:53] Speaker 1: I just believe.
[1:03:54] Speaker 5: And then on a nightly basis, man, they're going to
[1:03:56] Speaker 5: be getting beat so bad sometimes in the second half.
[1:03:58] Speaker 5: Teams ain't going to care that he's getting his scoring.
[1:04:00] Speaker 5: I just think he has the most opportunity as far
[1:04:03] Speaker 5: as rebounding, scoring, free throws, all that. I think he
[1:04:07] Speaker 5: has no one has more opportunity than Cam Boozer.
[1:04:09] Speaker 1: I just read that roster. Ain't nobody taking no shots
[1:04:12] Speaker 1: from him. I agree.
[1:04:13] Speaker 4: I just had a conversation with my son earlier about, like,
[1:04:16] Speaker 4: who to kind of model your game at.
[1:04:18] Speaker 1: And, you know, he's bringing up all these superstar guys.
[1:04:21] Speaker 4: I'm like, man, that's easier said than done. And I
[1:04:25] Speaker 4: literally brought up Cam Booz. I'm like, this kid can
[1:04:27] Speaker 4: do everything on the floor.
[1:04:28] Speaker 1: Yep. That's the type of player that you want to
[1:04:30] Speaker 1: model yourself after. I wanted to draft him yesterday. Gil Ricker, then? Yeah.
[1:04:35] Speaker 6: You should have.
[1:04:36] Speaker 5: I don't even think we drafted him.
[1:04:38] Speaker 3: Shum got all the rooks, right? He didn't get enough.
[1:04:40] Speaker 1: I was thinking about Campbell's.
[1:04:43] Speaker 3: I probably should have took Campbell's.
[1:04:50] Speaker 1: It all depends on, do they want winning? Peterson? They
[1:04:53] Speaker 1: don't care about winning. You said you wanted a DP yesterday.
[1:04:56] Speaker 3: Darren Peterson's solid, but he has too much talent around
[1:04:58] Speaker 3: him where I don't think he'll get a lot of shots.
[1:05:01] Speaker 3: He's going to be good.
[1:05:02] Speaker 1: He's going to shoot that fucking ball.
[1:05:04] Speaker 6: Um.
[1:05:07] Speaker 6: Caleb Boozer and DP is the ones I really have.
[1:05:10] Speaker 6: I was looking up Yaxel because Yaxel is going to
[1:05:12] Speaker 6: be a guy who actually gets to average a double-double.
[1:05:15] Speaker 6: So I was looking up who was the oldest rookie
[1:05:17] Speaker 6: of the years. And there's three. Dave Robinson, 24. He
[1:05:25] Speaker 6: was the oldest shit. He served our country.
[1:05:27] Speaker 1: 24-year-old rookie. Yeah, because he went to the Army. Malcolm Brogdon.
[1:05:31] Speaker 1: Michael Brogdon.
[1:05:32] Speaker 5: He averaged 10.
[1:05:33] Speaker 1: Yeah, it was a bad year. He averaged 10. He
[1:05:37] Speaker 1: was like 20-something. And then Sabonis at 31. So I
[1:05:42] Speaker 1: was trying to see if it's even possible.
[1:05:43] Speaker 6: Like, will the league even allow him to take it
[1:05:46] Speaker 6: from one of their young talents?
[1:05:48] Speaker 1: So it's happened. Watching Caleb just go down there and
[1:05:54] Speaker 1: take shots, right?
[1:05:58] Speaker 6: He's going to get them up. I'm going to go
[1:06:01] Speaker 6: with Boozer. I'm going to go with Boozer, and I
[1:06:03] Speaker 6: have DP second. I think Boozer, there's nobody there to
[1:06:06] Speaker 6: shoot it. He's a real big man that you can
[1:06:09] Speaker 6: put the ball in his hands, so.
[1:06:11] Speaker 1: He's going to take the top.
[1:06:12] Speaker 6: 12 to 15 shots that he needs. So he's going
[1:06:15] Speaker 6: to have the opportunity to get more. And it's all
[1:06:17] Speaker 6: quality shots. This ain't college.
[1:06:18] Speaker 1: You're not going to be able to sit in the lane.
[1:06:21] Speaker 1: I just gave you that roster. He getting 15 to
[1:06:23] Speaker 1: 20 shots. That roster is nasty.
[1:06:25] Speaker 2: Last but not least, give me your NBA Finals predictions
[1:06:29] Speaker 2: and who's winning the chip. So who's in the finals
[1:06:31] Speaker 2: who's winning the chip? Brandon, we'll start with you.
[1:06:32] Speaker 5: NBA Finals, I'll go OKC New York Knicks and I
[1:06:36] Speaker 5: got OKC winning the chip.
[1:06:39] Speaker 1: Oh, OK. Gilbert? Okay, see, baby. You can say Lakers now,
[1:06:43] Speaker 1: delusional man. I was about to. I know you were.
[1:06:46] Speaker 1: So I'm going to go to the other team first.
[1:06:49] Speaker 6: I'm going to say Philadelphia 76ers versus the Lakers.
[1:06:54] Speaker 1: No way. Hell no. Amen. If we win it. For
[1:06:57] Speaker 1: any of y'all to bet, please don't do that one.
[1:07:00] Speaker 6: Hey, I didn't say follow me. I said I was
[1:07:02] Speaker 6: going to be delusional.
[1:07:04] Speaker 1: This is true. Right?
[1:07:05] Speaker 6: Hey, listen, I'm going for the Lakers until they.
[1:07:07] Speaker 1: Lose, and then I'll pick a real team. The Brown Bowl. Okay.
[1:07:10] Speaker 6: Mm-hmm.
[1:07:11] Speaker 1: Man, we're going to go beat them. Lakers beat the Sixers.
[1:07:15] Speaker 1: It's ironic, Danny. Finals, predictions?
[1:07:17] Speaker 3: I got a rematch. We're going to see the same finals.
[1:07:20] Speaker 3: Nick Spurs. Spurs is going to get them. They get
[1:07:26] Speaker 3: a redemption year.
[1:07:27] Speaker 1: Might lose boogie. You stick with the Wolves, man? Okay.
[1:07:31] Speaker 1: He riding on with his guy.
[1:07:32] Speaker 3: Antonio will lose by third.
[1:07:33] Speaker 6: Huh?
[1:07:33] Speaker 3: Who's going to lose by third?
[1:07:34] Speaker 1: Who from the East? I said New York might lose.
[1:07:36] Speaker 4: It's going to be a chocolate finals.
[1:07:39] Speaker 1: I'm going to go with you. Timberwolves in Philly. Very chocolate.
[1:07:44] Speaker 1: Timberwolves get in the chat. Shopping City. All right. Wait, wait, wait.
[1:07:49] Speaker 1: It's crazy.
[1:07:50] Speaker 5: Ants on hood, he got us thinking Minnesota's chocolate.
[1:07:52] Speaker 1: I know, that's what I was about to say. I
[1:07:54] Speaker 1: was like, that's what I was thinking. I was like, damn,
[1:07:56] Speaker 1: Ant hood is hell.
[1:07:57] Speaker 5: We thinking about Minnesota like it's a black city.
[1:08:01] Speaker 1: Like it's cold Atlanta or something like that. I was
[1:08:03] Speaker 1: thinking the same thing. I was like, wait, chocolate, man. Minnesota,
[1:08:08] Speaker 1: the Minnesota Wyamberwolves. All right.
[1:08:10] Speaker 2: Well, it's time to try and finesse some bread on Polymarket.
[1:08:12] Speaker 2: This has put that on something. There are two games
[1:08:14] Speaker 2: left on the slate tonight, so we're going to give
[1:08:15] Speaker 2: you a trade on the Polymarket app.
[1:08:17] Speaker 1: You got to pick a side. Put that on something.
[1:08:19] Speaker 2: So Celtics and Pistons officially tipped off the NBA season,
[1:08:21] Speaker 2: but there are two more marquee matchups. Let's start in
[1:08:24] Speaker 2: the Big Apple where the Knicks are set to start
[1:08:26] Speaker 2: their title defense by taking on a retooled Sixers squad
[1:08:29] Speaker 2: featuring the Big Four plus one more. So defending champs,
[1:08:34] Speaker 2: heavy favorite to get the dub in this one. 62%
[1:08:37] Speaker 2: of traders are picking them while Sixers are sitting at 32%.
[1:08:42] Speaker 1: Let's take it to the couch. Boogie, we'll start with you.
[1:08:45] Speaker 1: Who's winning, Sixers or Knicks tonight? Quick jump.
[1:08:50] Speaker 3: Cut it to four.
[1:08:51] Speaker 4: I'm going to go with the Knicks. They know each other.
[1:08:56] Speaker 4: They have a chemistry coming off the chip. You always
[1:09:01] Speaker 4: got to give respect to the champs. Also, this is
[1:09:04] Speaker 4: a new Sixers group. I think they get better as
[1:09:07] Speaker 4: the year continues to go. I do think they're a
[1:09:11] Speaker 4: real threat towards the end of the year, but I've
[1:09:13] Speaker 4: said it before and I'm going to say it again.
[1:09:14] Speaker 4: I think early in the year in the East, the
[1:09:16] Speaker 4: Knicks will continue to dominate until Teams figure themselves out.
[1:09:21] Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm going to boogie on that. Second that. Knicks
[1:09:25] Speaker 3: have the chemistry already in place. Philly's still trying to
[1:09:28] Speaker 3: figure it out. We don't even know what they look
[1:09:30] Speaker 3: like fully healthy. We haven't seen them play. I don't
[1:09:32] Speaker 3: think they know what they look like yet. And it's
[1:09:34] Speaker 3: ring night. Banner going up. City about to be crazy.
[1:09:38] Speaker 1: Don't most teams lose on ring night? Nah, that's what
[1:09:41] Speaker 1: I was... I might have to go back on that.
[1:09:43] Speaker 3: No, no, no.
[1:09:44] Speaker 6: That's what I was looking for. So it's... And I
[1:09:46] Speaker 6: did the last 20 years, so it's 16-4.
[1:09:49] Speaker 3: So I'm going with.
[1:09:51] Speaker 1: New York to win. Oh, we good. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
[1:09:53] Speaker 1: New York to win.
[1:09:54] Speaker 3: It's only been recent that they've lost.
[1:09:55] Speaker 1: Okay.
[1:09:56] Speaker 3: Maybe like three or four, like last five years.
[1:09:58] Speaker 1: Lakers are the last losers. Okay. And then they lost
[1:10:01] Speaker 1: to the Clippers. And listen, man.
[1:10:03] Speaker 5: All this means is that Philadelphia's about to win because
[1:10:05] Speaker 5: I'm going clean sweep. I'm going with the Knicks. All
[1:10:07] Speaker 5: that means is we all going to be wrong.
[1:10:11] Speaker 1: Oh, you have little faith? Yeah, I'm going with the Knicks.
[1:10:13] Speaker 6: If I'm losing, I'm losing with friends.
[1:10:14] Speaker 5: We're going to lose as a unit. Yeah, like I said,
[1:10:19] Speaker 5: everything they said, man. Team camaraderie, banner night. I feel
[1:10:23] Speaker 5: like a lot of those guys didn't even get the
[1:10:25] Speaker 5: minutes in the preseason that they needed to to really
[1:10:27] Speaker 5: get comfortable. I think Philly's going to be good, but
[1:10:29] Speaker 5: it's going to take them some time.
[1:10:30] Speaker 1: I don't think they're going to start out just hot
[1:10:31] Speaker 1: like that. Right, right.
[1:10:35] Speaker 3: Four-point game in Detroit, by the way.
[1:10:37] Speaker 2: Season-opening nightcap features a Western Conference Finals rematch between the
[1:10:40] Speaker 2: Thunder and Spurs. We talked a little bit about it.
[1:10:43] Speaker 2: The Chet-Wimby rivalry. These two teams are officially a rivalry now.
[1:10:46] Speaker 2: They met in the playoffs.
[1:10:46] Speaker 1: Oh, for sure. This is a rivalry.
[1:10:48] Speaker 2: Game is a toss-up on Polymarket with 50% of traders
[1:10:51] Speaker 2: picking the Thunder, 51% rolling with Wimby and the Spurs.
[1:10:55] Speaker 1: Let's take it to the couch. Wait.
[1:10:57] Speaker 6: 50-50?
[1:10:57] Speaker 3: Is that what's going on?
[1:10:58] Speaker 1: You said a rivalry?
[1:10:59] Speaker 6: 50-51.
[1:11:00] Speaker 3: Does that add up?
[1:11:01] Speaker 1: It's a trading rivalry. Yeah, why wouldn't it be a rivalry?
[1:11:04] Speaker 1: Why are you looking at it? You're talking about Chet
[1:11:06] Speaker 1: and Wimby. Why you got the sourpuss face?
[1:11:08] Speaker 3: They've met in the Western Conference Finals. They've met in
[1:11:11] Speaker 3: a lot of times.
[1:11:13] Speaker 1: A lot of times. One team just started making the
[1:11:15] Speaker 1: playoffs just last year. Other than that, they've been losers
[1:11:19] Speaker 1: this whole time. Why are you making a rivalry because
[1:11:20] Speaker 1: we played once?
[1:11:21] Speaker 3: They played a lot of times.
[1:11:22] Speaker 1: I thought rivalry is like multiple times.
[1:11:25] Speaker 6: If they play again this year there, next year, we
[1:11:28] Speaker 6: can call it a rivalry.
[1:11:29] Speaker 1: It's a rivalry. They're rivalries, bro.
[1:11:32] Speaker 5: You know why it's a rivalry? Because last year in
[1:11:34] Speaker 5: the regular season, OKC didn't look at it like a rivalry,
[1:11:37] Speaker 5: and the Spurs did. So they mopped them up. And
[1:11:39] Speaker 5: then when they got to the playoffs, they were like,
[1:11:41] Speaker 5: you know what? We got a lot of confidence. We've
[1:11:43] Speaker 5: been curb stomping y'all all year long. So now OKC's like,
[1:11:46] Speaker 5: it's our time for our get back.
[1:11:47] Speaker 1: We healthy. We saw how y'all was popping off on us.
[1:11:50] Speaker 1: Now we here now. It's officially a rivalry. I don't
[1:11:52] Speaker 1: like you. You don't like me.
[1:11:53] Speaker 3: It's the seven games, bro, in the Western Conference Finals.
[1:11:58] Speaker 6: When did we call Cleveland a rivalry? After the second
[1:12:00] Speaker 6: year we was playing in the finals. That first year
[1:12:03] Speaker 6: after we lost, that wasn't a rivalry. When we played
[1:12:05] Speaker 6: the Bulls, that wasn't a rivalry. Even though we got
[1:12:09] Speaker 6: the scuffling in the summer league, it wasn't a rivalry.
[1:12:12] Speaker 1: That was funny. It was fun, but it wasn't a rivalry.
[1:12:14] Speaker 1: You know what I mean? We had a fight preseason.
[1:12:17] Speaker 1: They just got suspended. Chicago Bulls.
[1:12:21] Speaker 6: A little scuffle happened in the preseason. We mopped them
[1:12:24] Speaker 6: in a regular season. You said we got in a fight.
[1:12:26] Speaker 6: I looked at the film.
[1:12:27] Speaker 1: You ain't fighting nobody. I was grabbing. Get off my man.
[1:12:31] Speaker 1: I looked at the film. You ain't fighting nobody, man.
[1:12:33] Speaker 3: Did you beat any of these teams in the playoffs?
[1:12:35] Speaker 6: Yeah, we played them in the playoffs and we beat
[1:12:37] Speaker 6: them in the playoffs.
[1:12:37] Speaker 1: But there wasn't a rivalry.
[1:12:39] Speaker 6: We didn't even look at them no more. We were
[1:12:42] Speaker 6: trying to compete with the Miami until they smacked the
[1:12:44] Speaker 6: fuck out of us.
[1:12:45] Speaker 1: They didn't look at us.
[1:12:46] Speaker 3: That's why, because they were, what was it, first round?
[1:12:49] Speaker 6: Yeah, we beat them out of the first round.
[1:12:50] Speaker 3: It was one in verse two. It's like the top team.
[1:12:52] Speaker 1: You got to earn rivalry, man. You can't just be
[1:12:55] Speaker 1: good today. We've been good for the last three years.
[1:12:58] Speaker 3: They've been playing against each other in the cup tournaments,
[1:13:01] Speaker 3: the shit like that. Last year, they played against each
[1:13:03] Speaker 3: other like six times in one month. They played each
[1:13:05] Speaker 3: other like a.
[1:13:06] Speaker 5: Lot of times.
[1:13:06] Speaker 1: Yeah, last year. So who's winning? You've been in the
[1:13:09] Speaker 1: lottery fucking seven years straight.
[1:13:11] Speaker 5: I'm going OKC. I think OKC comes out hungry. We
[1:13:17] Speaker 5: talked about that game seven. There was no AJ Mitchell.
[1:13:20] Speaker 5: There was no J-Dub. Those guys back in that lineup,
[1:13:22] Speaker 5: give me OKC tonight.
[1:13:24] Speaker 1: Gilbert. I really want to go off of the first play.
[1:13:33] Speaker 1: Can I bank my shit off the first pick? No, man.
[1:13:35] Speaker 1: Give us your pick.
[1:13:36] Speaker 6: I want to see if Wimby goes at him first
[1:13:39] Speaker 6: play or Chet goes at him at first play.
[1:13:40] Speaker 3: That'll let me know.
[1:13:40] Speaker 5: Man, Chet ain't going at Wimby, man.
[1:13:41] Speaker 1: Make your pick.
[1:13:42] Speaker 3: Where is this at? Is this in San Antonio? Is
[1:13:44] Speaker 3: it in San Antonio?
[1:13:47] Speaker 1: Is it in San Antonio? San Antonio. Only one nigga
[1:13:50] Speaker 1: coming to play tonight. That's Chet. Chet might not even
[1:13:55] Speaker 1: show up. Are they going to find him walking on
[1:13:59] Speaker 1: a riverwalk? Swimming.
[1:14:02] Speaker 5: Dead body.
[1:14:04] Speaker 1: You know what? Floating. I'm going to go with OKC.
[1:14:10] Speaker 1: There we go. I'm going to go with OKC.
[1:14:13] Speaker 6: I think Spurs got a crack in their shield that
[1:14:18] Speaker 6: they don't.
[1:14:18] Speaker 1: Know right now. Three-guard lineup. We'll see how. Yeah, they
[1:14:21] Speaker 1: fucking around. They're not.
[1:14:22] Speaker 3: There you know my pick, man.
[1:14:23] Speaker 1: I'm just making sure. Yeah.
[1:14:26] Speaker 3: One-point game in Detroit. But, yeah, I'm going with San Antonio, bro. Again, Chet,
[1:14:29] Speaker 3: two pounds ain't enough to... Two mighty pounds.
[1:14:33] Speaker 1: If you put on extra socks, it'd be faux. Two
[1:14:35] Speaker 1: mighty pounds. Double socked. Uh-oh. Double socked up on the toes.
[1:14:38] Speaker 1: Detroit up. Detroit basketball. Look at that. This is tough.
[1:14:43] Speaker 1: You got De'Aaron Fox healthy. That matters.
[1:14:47] Speaker 3: You're coming back with a vengeance, too.
[1:14:49] Speaker 4: OKC got some guys healthy again. Jayden Williams, A.J.
[1:14:52] Speaker 1: Mitchell. I'm excited for the game, I say. I am, too.
[1:14:56] Speaker 4: I think this is going to be an exciting opening night.
[1:15:01] Speaker 5: Gil, you have a watch party at the house, man?
[1:15:03] Speaker 6: Who? You.
[1:15:04] Speaker 1: The Lakers ain't playing? The Lakers are playing tomorrow, baby.
[1:15:08] Speaker 1: That's what's part of tomorrow, man.
[1:15:10] Speaker 6: Huh?
[1:15:10] Speaker 1: Thought we had a watch party.
[1:15:11] Speaker 3: Yeah, man.
[1:15:12] Speaker 1: I'll be juggling tomorrow, baby. Okay, see? Juggling. Juggling what?
[1:15:17] Speaker 1: Extra glaze, baby.
[1:15:20] Speaker 6: I got the warm napkin on my team.
[1:15:22] Speaker 3: Huh?
[1:15:23] Speaker 1: This is greatness right here. Who do you think?
[1:15:25] Speaker 6: I can't help it if y'all ain't got real teams
[1:15:27] Speaker 6: to be a fan of.
[1:15:29] Speaker 3: Do we ever ask Josiah his picks?
[1:15:30] Speaker 6: No.
[1:15:31] Speaker 1: He's a LeBron fan. They don't care about him.
[1:15:33] Speaker 3: What's your pick, bro?
[1:15:34] Speaker 1: I'm going to go with LeBron. The Thunder.
[1:15:36] Speaker 3: Okay, so we've got four Thunder, one Spurs. Who else
[1:15:39] Speaker 3: did you pick for the other team?
[1:15:40] Speaker 1: I'm going to go with the Sixers. LeBron, Raymond, James, Sr.
[1:15:43] Speaker 1: Has not been successful in opening nights in recent years,
[1:15:45] Speaker 1: but that streak was great.
[1:15:46] Speaker 2: So one Sixer, four Knicks, okay. I'm going to be contrarian.
[1:15:49] Speaker 2: Contrary to Jay. But that was put that on something. Danny,
[1:15:51] Speaker 2: thank you for including me.
[1:15:52] Speaker 1: That was put that on something. You know the thing about,
[1:15:54] Speaker 1: I'm going to let you finish.
[1:15:55] Speaker 2: Thank you, Gil. It's money time. That was put that
[1:15:56] Speaker 2: on something presented by Polymarket. Download the Polymarket app. Use

[1:16:12] Speaker 6: Contrarian usually is wrong all the time.
[1:16:16] Speaker 3: Okay, we'll see.
[1:16:16] Speaker 6: And they just celebrate the one time they win.
[1:16:18] Speaker 1: That's all that matters.
[1:16:19] Speaker 6: They purposely go against right.
[1:16:22] Speaker 1: Well, you know what is right? It's the right time
[1:16:24] Speaker 1: for mostly fans.
[1:16:25] Speaker 3: There you go.
[1:16:27] Speaker 6: Is this the new one or old one?
[1:16:28] Speaker 1: This is still the old one. We don't know.
[1:16:30] Speaker 6: That was preseason shit. We ain't doing the same old shit. No, no, no.
[1:16:33] Speaker 1: No, oh shit. We're going to drop the screen down
[1:16:35] Speaker 1: for a second.
[1:16:36] Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
[1:16:37] Speaker 6: We'll do one MostlyFans gig because we want to go
[1:16:38] Speaker 6: watch the game. No, we're not doing MostlyFans.
[1:16:40] Speaker 1: That was live.
[1:16:40] Speaker 6: We're not bringing the preseason game into the regular season game.
[1:16:45] Speaker 1: MostlyFans is just not MostlyFans. I'm going to read a
[1:16:48] Speaker 1: couple comments. We don't need to read none of that shit.
[1:16:51] Speaker 2: First one is from SickMyDuck underscore one. SickMyDuck underscore one.
[1:16:56] Speaker 2: NBA laziness is an extension of thinking we're all the same.
[1:16:59] Speaker 2: So NBA laziness is an extension of thinking we're all
[1:17:01] Speaker 2: the same. Thank you, SickMyDuck underscore one. We got Hoopla Watch.
[1:17:06] Speaker 2: Hoopla Watch said, the interviewer brought up KD both times.
[1:17:08] Speaker 2: Ishpia answered it the best way he could while being respectful.
[1:17:11] Speaker 2: The interviewer was the one targeting KD. CNBC trying to
[1:17:13] Speaker 2: get those numbers up just like we are here in
[1:17:15] Speaker 2: the arena. It wasn't Matt's fault, bro.
[1:17:17] Speaker 1: We have a comment from DeliveryGuy91.
[1:17:19] Speaker 2: Said, Joker has arguably been the best in the league
[1:17:22] Speaker 2: the past six years and y'all continue to bring up
[1:17:24] Speaker 2: one year and one playoff series.
[1:17:28] Speaker 3: What you mean?
[1:17:29] Speaker 1: I don't know.
[1:17:29] Speaker 3: What does he mean by that?
[1:17:30] Speaker 1: I don't know.
[1:17:30] Speaker 5: Well, I think because we were critical of Joker losing
[1:17:32] Speaker 5: in the first round last year.
[1:17:33] Speaker 1: Who was?
[1:17:34] Speaker 5: Yeah, but they've lost to Minnesota multiple years, and both
[1:17:38] Speaker 5: times they.
[1:17:39] Speaker 1: Were the favorites.
[1:17:40] Speaker 3: Yeah.
[1:17:40] Speaker 1: Oh, yeah.
[1:17:41] Speaker 3: And in the regular season, they've been dropping.
[1:17:43] Speaker 5: And truthfully, as much as I love... You know, I'm
[1:17:46] Speaker 5: rolling with my big brother. Jokic didn't play well in
[1:17:48] Speaker 5: that series last year either. This is the first time
[1:17:50] Speaker 5: I've seen Rudy stand up. Before they got to three,
[1:17:53] Speaker 5: they were like six most of the year. Weren't they
[1:17:54] Speaker 5: like six most of the year?
[1:17:56] Speaker 6: That's the funny part. We really do be picking and
[1:17:59] Speaker 6: choosing when to attack someone's legacy.
[1:18:04] Speaker 1: Not attack, critique. Critique. Like, the reason we know Jokic.
[1:18:09] Speaker 6: and we don't critique his teams is because we can
[1:18:13] Speaker 6: see they're not good. He has to average a triple-double
[1:18:17] Speaker 6: to compete, right, because they lost some key pieces.
[1:18:20] Speaker 5: He's the only person to win a championship without an all.
[1:18:22] Speaker 5: He didn't have an all anything. When he won that championship,
[1:18:25] Speaker 5: Murray hadn't been an all-star. They didn't have an all-NBA.
[1:18:29] Speaker 5: They didn't have an all-defensive player. He's the only guy.
[1:18:32] Speaker 5: Aaron Gordon went all?
[1:18:33] Speaker 6: No.
[1:18:36] Speaker 1: He didn't have an all nothing. So him losing. Really? Yep.
[1:18:39] Speaker 5: So Aaron Gordon was not all.
[1:18:40] Speaker 3: He's had a lot of games.
[1:18:41] Speaker 5: When they won that championship?
[1:18:43] Speaker 1: Nah, man. All yet the rules. and shit. I mean,
[1:18:45] Speaker 1: he's by far... No, we know.
[1:18:47] Speaker 5: I'm just saying, they didn't have nothing. I'm just saying,
[1:18:50] Speaker 5: they didn't have an all or nothing when they won
[1:18:51] Speaker 5: that game. Jamal was still.
[1:18:53] Speaker 3: He wasn't an all-star yet, but he was still an
[1:18:54] Speaker 3: all-star caliber player.
[1:18:56] Speaker 6: So you look at him when they're losing, and you're like,
[1:18:58] Speaker 6: you know what? He still gets credit for his wins,
[1:19:01] Speaker 6: and you don't take away his losers. Nobody's going to
[1:19:04] Speaker 6: ever say, oh, yeah, you kept losing the first round
[1:19:05] Speaker 6: after you won a championship.
[1:19:06] Speaker 1: Everybody's like, that motherfucker had a triple-double. Right. Mm-hmm. And
[1:19:09] Speaker 1: was still named the best player. Yeah, so you're.
[1:19:12] Speaker 6: Not going to criticize him because he's not close enough
[1:19:16] Speaker 6: to whoever they have as the number one center.
[1:19:19] Speaker 2: Danny said he wants to go watch the game, ladies
[1:19:21] Speaker 2: and gentlemen. That will conclude our Mostly Fans for today.
[1:19:23] Speaker 2: It's getting enthralling out there in Detroit between The Celtics
[1:19:28] Speaker 2: and the Pistons.
[1:19:28] Speaker 1: By the time we get back, the game's going to
[1:19:31] Speaker 1: be over, Dan.
[1:19:32] Speaker 6: We didn't want to watch this game anymore. We all
[1:19:35] Speaker 6: getting ready for that 4 o'clock.
[1:19:36] Speaker 2: We got two big games tonight. We appreciate everybody who said,
[1:19:39] Speaker 2: fuck the Celtics-Pistons game. We're coming to watch Gil's Arena
[1:19:41] Speaker 2: support it. All our fans, supporters out there, make sure
[1:19:44] Speaker 2: you hit that like button. If you have not done
[1:19:46] Speaker 2: so already, one last time before we wrap up today.
[1:19:48] Speaker 1: Appreciate you, everybody, in the chat. Appreciate everybody on this couch.
[1:19:51] Speaker 2: Appreciate our amazing crew for all the hard work that
[1:19:53] Speaker 2: they do. This has been another episode of Gil's Arena,
[1:19:56] Speaker 2: presented by Polymarket, powered by Playmaker.
[1:19:58] Speaker 3: Woo!
[1:19:59] Speaker 1: We'll see y'all tomorrow!
