Cade Cunningham's Return Should TERRIFY The NBA according to Gilbert Arenas as Gil & The Gil's Arena Crew react to the Detroit Pistons superstar returning to the lineup earlier than expected following his collapsed lung and discuss what this means for the rest of the Eastern Conference as the league leading Pistons got their best player back ahead of the NBA Playoffs. They also discuss Cade's comments on the NBA's 65 game minimum rule as the All NBA hooper suggested he rushed back to earn awards for his career season and give their take on Allen Iverson's message to the NBA regarding load management. Next, they break down Bleacher Report's Top 15 pure scorers list and give their own rankings of the best hoopers at getting the ball into the net before reacting to the budding rivalry between Nikola Jokic & Victor Wembanyama and debate if the 2 other worldly superstars need to meet in the playoffs to establish a true rivalry. Finally, they react to former Denver Nuggets head coach Michael Malone agreeing to become the next head coach of the University of North Carolina Tar Heels and break down the NBA's proposals to curb the tanking epidemic. [0:27] Speaker 5: Woop wo As you can probably see, Gil is not
[0:30] Speaker 5: in the arena. We do not know his location as
[0:32] Speaker 5: of right now. If you see him in the Los
[0:34] Speaker 5: Angeles area, tell him that we have a show going on.
[0:37] Speaker 3: And he's woke. And he's woke. That's probably the best.
[0:45] Speaker 3: That's a code name.
[0:47] Speaker 1: All the woke. Let's move onward and upward. Thank you, Sean,
[0:53] Speaker 1: for not.
[0:56] Speaker 3: No, that's not for real. I'm sorry, though. I'm sorry, though.
[0:59] Speaker 3: That video is probably the best of 2026 so far.
[1:05] Speaker 1: Because he talking about himself and it's like you came
[1:08] Speaker 1: back with a stuff like.
[1:09] Speaker 2: He just he just he just check it off.
[1:15] Speaker 5: Let's keep this thing moving onward and upward. This is
[1:18] Speaker 5: Gills Arena presented by Underdog. I'm merely host Josiah Johnson.
[1:22] Speaker 5: As you can see, we do not have NBA legend,
[1:25] Speaker 5: our greatest most wanted Gilbert Arenas here with us. Just yet,
[1:27] Speaker 5: Gil is on the way.
[1:28] Speaker 3: This is his seat, right?
[1:29] Speaker 5: Swaggy, this is your seat right now. This is Swaggy's arena.
[1:32] Speaker 5: You know the protocol. When Gil's not here, you take over.
[1:35] Speaker 3: Go ahead. NBA legend.
[1:37] Speaker 1: The line of succession. Our greatest. Swaggy also plays our greatest.
[1:41] Speaker 2: No, no.
[1:43] Speaker 5: NBA champion of the world, Swaggy P. Nick Young back
[1:45] Speaker 5: here with us. Nick Young's initials backwards.
[1:50] Speaker 3: Why him?
[1:51] Speaker 1: Just in case you did not remember.
[1:52] Speaker 3: Tell me.
[1:54] Speaker 1: On this side of the couch. Y'all switched.
[1:56] Speaker 3: I like it.
[1:57] Speaker 5: We got the man known as Cemetery Larry, NCAA champion
[2:00] Speaker 5: of the world, Rashad McCants.
[2:02] Speaker 3: Dr.
[2:02] Speaker 1: Rashad McCants, PhD.
[2:09] Speaker 3: That was easy. Two hands now, okay. Mm-hmm.
[2:12] Speaker 2: Mm-hmm.
[2:13] Speaker 3: Two guys. Two clips. Two phones. Two hoes. Whatever. Whatever.
[2:21] Speaker 3: Two of everything.
[2:22] Speaker 5: Next in shot, representing Tough Crowd, card-carrying country club member.
[2:25] Speaker 5: If you don't believe him, just look at the clubs
[2:26] Speaker 5: he has brought with him into the studio today. Mr. B,
[2:29] Speaker 5: Brandon Janney.
[2:30] Speaker 3: Those look new, though.
[2:33] Speaker 2: Huh?
[2:33] Speaker 3: Those look new, though. Yeah, I upgraded from the PHGs, man.
[2:36] Speaker 3: I went to Callaway. Still got the tag on. No,
[2:41] Speaker 3: it's from the Bridges. I play at the Bridges. It's
[2:43] Speaker 3: where I play. Places I've been.
[2:47] Speaker 1: The Masters going on right now? No Tiger Wolf. Dealing
[2:51] Speaker 1: with some other shit?
[2:52] Speaker 3: I don't know. I like heat.
[2:54] Speaker 5: I like heat. We got a lot to discuss. Here's
[2:58] Speaker 5: what's cracking in Gil's arena today. Cade Cunningham made a
[3:01] Speaker 5: surprising early comeback to the top seed of Pistons from
[3:04] Speaker 5: a collapsed lung. How has Cade changed the culture in Detroit?
[3:09] Speaker 5: NBA set to vote on anti-tanking draft lottery reform next month.
[3:15] Speaker 5: But realistically, can anything be done to stop teams from tanking?
[3:18] Speaker 5: And there have been some legendary bucket getters in NBA history,
[3:21] Speaker 5: but who are the greatest pure scorers of all time?
[3:26] Speaker 5: We will get into it. There will be no yelling,
[3:28] Speaker 5: no arguing. Just good, healthy debate. As always, this episode
[3:33] Speaker 5: is brought to you by Underdog. Underdog available in most states,
[3:35] Speaker 5: including Texas, California, and Florida. New customers get $ 50 in
[3:38] Speaker 5: bonus entries when they play just $ 5. To get started,

[3:44] Speaker 3: Underdog.
[3:45] Speaker 1: Make picks. Win money. with Cole Gillen.
[3:47] Speaker 5: If you can't watch this show live with us on YouTube,
[3:49] Speaker 5: we got audio versions available on Apple, Spotify, wherever you
[3:52] Speaker 5: get your podcasts from.
[3:53] Speaker 1: So let's start this.
[3:54] Speaker 5: In Detroit, despite reports he would likely miss the rest
[3:58] Speaker 5: of the regular season with a collapsed lung, Cade Cunningham
[4:01] Speaker 5: made his return to the court Wednesday night for the
[4:03] Speaker 5: Pistons in their game against the still Giannis-less Bucks. Cunningham
[4:07] Speaker 5: had missed the previous 11 games after suffering the injury
[4:09] Speaker 5: early against the Wizards on March 17th. So let's take
[4:13] Speaker 5: a look at some highlights if we can, please. But
[4:15] Speaker 5: Cade played 26 minutes. In the blowout win, finished with
[4:19] Speaker 5: 13 points, 10 assists, and five rebounds. Six for 11
[4:24] Speaker 5: from the field. It was his 38th double-double this season.
[4:28] Speaker 5: All five Piston starters played less than 30 minutes in
[4:32] Speaker 5: the game as Detroit built a 26-point lead after.
[4:36] Speaker 1: Just three quarters. Still did not let Giannis play with
[4:40] Speaker 1: his brother.
[4:40] Speaker 6: They live here.
[4:46] Speaker 5: Pistons also had Isaiah Stewart back in action for the
[4:49] Speaker 5: first time since March 13th. Detroit improved to 4-1 in
[4:53] Speaker 5: their last five games and got their 58th win of
[4:57] Speaker 5: the season. So, unfortunately, even if Cade plays the last
[5:01] Speaker 5: two games of the season, he would still fall one
[5:04] Speaker 5: short of the 65-game minimum.
[5:08] Speaker 3: Tragic.
[5:09] Speaker 1: Hate to see it.
[5:10] Speaker 5: But Cade can still apply for an Extraordinary Circumstances Challenge
[5:13] Speaker 5: Similar to Luka, no telling if the arbitrator will agree
[5:16] Speaker 5: in his favor or not. But after the game, Kade
[5:19] Speaker 5: was asked about his thoughts on the 65-game rule and
[5:22] Speaker 5: if he would revamp it.
[5:23] Speaker 7: That's a good question. I feel a lot of different
[5:28] Speaker 7: ways about it. You know, I think the, you know,
[5:33] Speaker 7: what they were trying to do with it is have
[5:34] Speaker 7: superstars play and not sit out, you know, just to
[5:38] Speaker 7: rest because fans pay a lot of money to come
[5:41] Speaker 7: watch us play games, so.
[5:43] Speaker 3: I have a lot of respect for that.
[5:44] Speaker 7: I know the fans come to watch me play and
[5:47] Speaker 7: I want to make sure that I'm available and I
[5:49] Speaker 7: give them a show whenever they come out.
[5:53] Speaker 3: In that way, I respect the rule. I think it's
[5:55] Speaker 3: a good rule in that way.
[5:58] Speaker 7: It's tough for me right now, this year, because I
[6:01] Speaker 7: think I did a lot of work to be in
[6:04] Speaker 7: consideration for.
[6:06] Speaker 3: Awards and All-NBA and all that stuff.
[6:10] Speaker 7: I'm in a tough spot, but I think it'll all
[6:15] Speaker 7: play out how it's supposed to play out, and I'm
[6:17] Speaker 7: just trying to do my best to help my team win.
[6:21] Speaker 7: I'm hearing all this stuff about exceptions and all this
[6:24] Speaker 7: other stuff. I don't know how all that stuff works.
[6:26] Speaker 7: I'll just keep doing my job day by day, and
[6:28] Speaker 7: whatever comes will come.
[6:30] Speaker 3: Whatever's meant to be will be.
[6:32] Speaker 5: Whatever's meant to be will be. K-13 All-NBA last season,
[6:36] Speaker 5: like we said, will be one game short of the
[6:38] Speaker 5: 65-game minimum unless they can work some magic behind the scenes.
[6:42] Speaker 5: Pistons locked up the top spot in the East this weekend,
[6:45] Speaker 5: had gone 8-3 without Cade in the lineup. So despite this,
[6:48] Speaker 5: Cade decided to try and finish out the regular season
[6:50] Speaker 5: with his squad. Swagging, when you look at that, look
[6:53] Speaker 5: at what Cade had to say after the game, coming back,
[6:55] Speaker 5: everybody thought punctured lung. We weren't going to see him
[6:57] Speaker 5: again until the playoffs. What are your thoughts on Cade
[6:59] Speaker 5: Cunningham coming back after suffering a collapsed lung?
[7:04] Speaker 3: I just like his answer. I'm glad he's back on
[7:08] Speaker 3: the team. give his team a chance to get back
[7:12] Speaker 3: gelling with each other before the playoffs. But Cade, that
[7:17] Speaker 3: was a woke answer for sure. He sounded very woke.
[7:21] Speaker 3: He was doing his, he gave both sides of the situation.
[7:27] Speaker 3: And I believe a player like Cade, he should be eligible.
[7:32] Speaker 3: In this case, you got elite MVP type level players,
[7:38] Speaker 3: that's going to get erased from history. When you add
[7:41] Speaker 3: up all the accolades, they ain't going to be able
[7:43] Speaker 3: to meet these criteria, even though they're trying to play
[7:47] Speaker 3: and they're not, you know, they're not doing the Kawhi
[7:52] Speaker 3: and the Spurs thing. They're actually trying to get out there.
[7:55] Speaker 3: And unfortunately, a collapsed lungs happened at the end of
[7:59] Speaker 3: the season. So I think you should use, be able
[8:02] Speaker 3: to use common sense in these situations.
[8:07] Speaker 5: Most definitely. Obviously, made third team All-NBA last season. Likely
[8:10] Speaker 5: to be potentially first team, if not second team this season.
[8:15] Speaker 5: But let's move over to you, Shad.
[8:16] Speaker 3: Dr.
[8:16] Speaker 5: Rashad McCants, Ph.D. What are your thoughts on Kay Cunningham?
[8:19] Speaker 5: Coming back with three games left in the season, Pistons
[8:21] Speaker 5: really don't have anything to play for at this point,
[8:23] Speaker 5: except pride. Already had that top spot locked up. Kay said,
[8:26] Speaker 5: F it, I'm going to come back anyway. Man, just
[8:30] Speaker 5: love of the game. I think his answer reflects....
[8:36] Speaker 6: His studentry and his upbringing and the people around him,
[8:40] Speaker 6: how they show him the game, the respect for the
[8:43] Speaker 6: game that he has as far as the fans. I
[8:45] Speaker 6: think that's what it really comes down to is the
[8:47] Speaker 6: fans and how much the fans contribute to the actual rule.
[8:52] Speaker 6: The rule's not set for role players. The rule's set
[8:55] Speaker 6: for the star players. And the star players need to
[8:57] Speaker 6: show up, be available, be able to attend these games
[9:00] Speaker 6: that these fans are paying for.
[9:02] Speaker 3: You can imagine going to a Laker game, 14,000 seats.
[9:04] Speaker 6: 14,000 for the seat, and LeBron, Luka, and they are
[9:10] Speaker 6: not playing, and you're watching a bunch.
[9:12] Speaker 3: Of the road players play. I mean, that's not good
[9:14] Speaker 3: for the fans.
[9:15] Speaker 6: So I think making it a rule that players like
[9:19] Speaker 6: him can accept and see where it benefits the fans.
[9:24] Speaker 6: There is two sides to it where it comes, you know,
[9:27] Speaker 6: Gil talked about it a lot, the owner side. There's
[9:30] Speaker 6: the owner side of it and there's the fan side
[9:31] Speaker 6: of it. So I think That's where the rule comes in,
[9:35] Speaker 6: try to benefit both sides. But I think K has
[9:38] Speaker 6: done a lot for Detroit, putting them.
[9:40] Speaker 3: Back on the map.
[9:42] Speaker 6: They actually, you can see the difference to how they
[9:44] Speaker 6: play with him and how they play without him. So
[9:47] Speaker 6: last night I was able to see, you know, how
[9:49] Speaker 6: much they need him in the East and locking up
[9:52] Speaker 6: that top spot and being able to compete for the
[9:55] Speaker 6: conference finals and making it all the way. So I
[9:58] Speaker 6: love everything about what K brings.
[10:00] Speaker 3: To the table.
[10:00] Speaker 6: He actually won me over with that answer.
[10:03] Speaker 1: Were you not rocking with K like that prior?
[10:06] Speaker 6: Well, not all the way over the top. I think
[10:08] Speaker 6: that answer shows everybody that's looking at these awards, he's like, look, man,
[10:14] Speaker 6: if it happened to happen, man, I'm here to try
[10:16] Speaker 6: to take my team over the top. like whatever I
[10:18] Speaker 6: need to do for the team. So I don't think
[10:20] Speaker 6: he's looking past the history. I think he feels like,
[10:23] Speaker 6: you know, I got plenty of years to come and
[10:25] Speaker 6: try to accomplish something that I could accomplish this year
[10:29] Speaker 6: or last year or whatever, but he's not stuck on it.
[10:32] Speaker 3: And I think I like, I like that about it.
[10:34] Speaker 3: We'll talk more about that in depth in a second.
[10:36] Speaker 1: Even Mr.
[10:37] Speaker 5: B talking to you, when you look at this and
[10:39] Speaker 5: how the long-term impact of this has, when we sit
[10:41] Speaker 5: on couches like this years down the road, discuss this,
[10:45] Speaker 5: who's the best, who's the greatest, who's, you know, now
[10:47] Speaker 5: we got to factor in, oh yeah, well, Wimmy would
[10:49] Speaker 5: have got a defensive player of the year if he
[10:51] Speaker 5: didn't get hurt, or Cade would have made first team.
[10:54] Speaker 5: For him, it feels like there's other guys who have
[10:56] Speaker 5: won those awards, or been first team All-NBA, done all
[10:59] Speaker 5: those things, they have it on their resume. Now Cade
[11:01] Speaker 5: is denied that opportunity, because he's literally one game short.
[11:05] Speaker 5: What do you think about that situation?
[11:07] Speaker 1: To me?
[11:08] Speaker 4: I mean, well, the playoffs is coming up, so go
[11:10] Speaker 4: get those awards. You know, there's still Eastern Conference Finals MVP,
[11:13] Speaker 4: there's the finals MVP, there's other awards that you can
[11:16] Speaker 4: get that can prove to why you should have been that.
[11:19] Speaker 4: Just because, you know, because of the 65 game rule,
[11:21] Speaker 4: that doesn't mean that you still wasn't that guy. So,
[11:25] Speaker 4: you know, you have a chance where your team is
[11:26] Speaker 4: number one. Coming back from this lung injury was crazy.
[11:29] Speaker 4: And then being able to have a double-double is insane. So,
[11:33] Speaker 4: you know, seeing that Isaiah Stewart out there, I think
[11:36] Speaker 4: it's bigger than these individual awards.
[11:39] Speaker 3: Yes, it does mean a lot, but.
[11:41] Speaker 4: If you can go into the playoffs, get to the
[11:43] Speaker 4: Eastern Conference finals, win for Eastern Conference Finals MVP and
[11:46] Speaker 4: take your team to the finals.
[11:47] Speaker 3: It don't even matter. You don't think, like, when you
[11:51] Speaker 3: look back, you won't see that Detroit wasn't supposed to
[11:55] Speaker 3: be first in the East. Like, you don't see that
[11:58] Speaker 3: when we're going to talk about the couch and stuff
[12:00] Speaker 3: back later on. You don't see K took eighth place
[12:06] Speaker 3: or ninth place, wherever they were supposed to be, sixth
[12:08] Speaker 3: to eighth. And he took that team to be number
[12:12] Speaker 3: one and got no awards for it. Say they lose
[12:15] Speaker 3: in the playoffs, all that's done for. You don't think
[12:20] Speaker 3: about that. But is he eligible for anything?
[12:22] Speaker 2: I mean, I think scoring titles, things like that.
[12:27] Speaker 3: All NBA, nothing? It's like playing a video game, right?
[12:30] Speaker 6: You get halfway there or you get almost there and
[12:32] Speaker 6: then you lose to the boss, you got to start
[12:33] Speaker 6: all the way over again. It's just you got next year.
[12:37] Speaker 6: And that's what his answer reflects. His answer is like,
[12:40] Speaker 6: you know what? If I don't, you know what I'm saying?
[12:43] Speaker 6: If it happen, happen, don't, don't, I got next year.
[12:45] Speaker 6: I respect that, but. I mean, you could get MVP
[12:47] Speaker 6: that year.
[12:48] Speaker 3: I would. I mean, you can get MVP and still
[12:50] Speaker 3: get sent home by Dirk. Because you don't know what the,
[12:52] Speaker 3: he just had a collapsed one. He don't know what
[12:54] Speaker 3: the future holds, neither. That's the thing. So, Derrick Rose
[12:59] Speaker 3: didn't think after he won his MVP, it was going
[13:01] Speaker 3: to be over after that. I want to look back
[13:06] Speaker 3: and say you had something to do with the NBA at.
[13:09] Speaker 1: The end of the day. You're messing with NBA history.
[13:10] Speaker 1: Show your kids something.
[13:12] Speaker 5: I think as a result of that, and obviously some
[13:13] Speaker 5: other guys not making All-NBA, not being eligible, you got
[13:16] Speaker 5: guys like Jalen Dern who had a great season, but
[13:18] Speaker 5: now jump up and essentially not take K's spot, but
[13:22] Speaker 5: move up as a result of K not being there.
[13:24] Speaker 5: And we talk about the other side of it, too.
[13:25] Speaker 5: Now these dudes are going to say, where's my money at?
[13:28] Speaker 5: I need my Supermax. What is the one thing, Nick?
[13:32] Speaker 5: covers all the bases if you don't win none of
[13:35] Speaker 5: these awards.
[13:37] Speaker 1: Winning the championship.
[13:38] Speaker 6: Winning the championship, right? So I think that's where his
[13:41] Speaker 6: mind is. Like, let's try to win it all so
[13:43] Speaker 6: none of that may even matter. We in the history books,
[13:48] Speaker 6: especially if you even go to the conference finals. Like,
[13:50] Speaker 6: taking it to the conference finals, looking at Detroit, just
[13:54] Speaker 6: getting the morale back. It's like, all right, yeah. You know,
[13:56] Speaker 6: Detroit was 10th, 8th. Last two years, we were rebuilding.
[14:01] Speaker 6: We were at the bottom, bottom. We get JB. We
[14:03] Speaker 6: get a couple picks. We get Amen. We get Durden.
[14:06] Speaker 6: He's developed. We got a couple guys that can play.
[14:09] Speaker 6: We held number one down all season. I mean, that
[14:15] Speaker 6: alone is a good thing, right? But then it's reminiscent
[14:18] Speaker 6: to the Atlanta Hawks when they was number one that
[14:22] Speaker 6: year with Jeff Teague and all of them. And then
[14:25] Speaker 6: you got the Pistons that they was trying to hold
[14:27] Speaker 6: it down in the East. Certain teams we see historically
[14:29] Speaker 6: that we don't remember. We'd be like, we didn't remember
[14:32] Speaker 6: they was number one. But for this particular scenario, I
[14:36] Speaker 6: think Cade, he has enough talent. You know what I'm saying?
[14:40] Speaker 6: Came in with an expectation. He been doing it. So
[14:43] Speaker 6: I think to take it all the way to the
[14:45] Speaker 6: finals and try to win it, it would be dope.
[14:47] Speaker 3: It would, but what if none of them on that
[14:49] Speaker 3: team make first team, second team, or third team? Who's
[14:55] Speaker 3: to say the big man going to make the All-NBA?
[14:58] Speaker 3: He could. He could. He could.
[15:01] Speaker 6: He could, but do you think it's like... I mean,
[15:04] Speaker 6: he an all-star. He top 20.
[15:07] Speaker 3: But to be number one and nobody really makes... Just
[15:11] Speaker 3: say that happened. Is that crazy?
[15:15] Speaker 6: But what does it say about your team, though? It's
[15:17] Speaker 6: like you got one of them solid teams.
[15:19] Speaker 3: It's like... But what if y'all go win it? I
[15:22] Speaker 3: don't think they can win it all this year. I
[15:25] Speaker 3: think they could go to the Finals are the East.
[15:28] Speaker 4: I mean, going to the finals is, I mean, that
[15:30] Speaker 4: means somebody got, somebody got something.
[15:32] Speaker 3: Somebody got an MVP or something.
[15:34] Speaker 4: And that already is.
[15:36] Speaker 3: Wait, Boston. Look, I don't know.
[15:40] Speaker 5: So before we keep discussing, we got some commotion in
[15:42] Speaker 5: the chat. Uh, some rumblings that Gil will not be
[15:44] Speaker 5: eligible for the 65 show minimum here at Gil's Arena
[15:47] Speaker 5: for all the games he's missed. Gil, on a minutes restriction,
[15:51] Speaker 5: Gil actually posted in the chat, he said, I'm loading, managing,
[15:56] Speaker 5: I think load managing, inside my car, drinking my Celsius,
[15:59] Speaker 5: so Gil will be returning soon, just waiting to get
[16:01] Speaker 5: approved by the Gil's Arena medical staff. Refused to participate
[16:05] Speaker 5: in three-on-three scrimmages last week with the rest of the.
[16:09] Speaker 1: Show, but he will be here. In just a moment.
[16:12] Speaker 1: I'm loading managing. I'm loading managing.
[16:14] Speaker 3: Can't be ducking the smoke, man.
[16:17] Speaker 5: Other Romans, Gil wanted to duck Rashad today. Gil, if
[16:19] Speaker 5: you're watching, that's what the chat is saying.
[16:21] Speaker 1: It's not me.
[16:22] Speaker 3: It's not me.
[16:22] Speaker 1: I merely hope.
[16:23] Speaker 3: You said nothing.
[16:25] Speaker 5: But looking at this Pistons squad, Pistons have already secured
[16:28] Speaker 5: their first 50-win season since 2008. They have two more
[16:31] Speaker 5: games remaining on the schedule on the road against the
[16:34] Speaker 5: Hornets and Pistons. If they could get two more wins,
[16:38] Speaker 5: it would be their first 60-win season since 2006. So, Sean,
[16:41] Speaker 5: we'll start with you. How has Cade Cunningham changed the
[16:44] Speaker 5: culture of the Pistons in his five seasons in the league?
[16:47] Speaker 5: And I preface that with we look at where this
[16:49] Speaker 5: team was a few seasons ago. What he was saying
[16:52] Speaker 5: even back then, you know, everybody hold tight. We're going
[16:55] Speaker 5: to be all right. Just keep believing in us and
[16:57] Speaker 5: having the ability to actually accomplish that and change this
[17:00] Speaker 5: to the top seed in the Eastern Conference. 44 wins
[17:03] Speaker 5: last season. Potentially 58 to 60 wins this season.
[17:07] Speaker 6: Well, historically, you look at where the Pistons were. And
[17:11] Speaker 6: then where they transitioned to, they've always had bright spots,
[17:16] Speaker 6: I think, from Drummond, BJ, Stucky, you know, Monroe. They
[17:25] Speaker 6: always had players that could play. Jackson, Reggie Jackson, all
[17:30] Speaker 6: the guys that's went through Detroit through the years.
[17:32] Speaker 3: BJ? I said BJ. So it's like one of those
[17:36] Speaker 3: things where.
[17:39] Speaker 6: They've always had good players come through, but it was like,
[17:43] Speaker 6: what coaches is going to match the actual culture that
[17:47] Speaker 6: they're used to and bring them back to that championship prominence?
[17:52] Speaker 6: And I think it started with the defensive side.
[17:54] Speaker 3: Them getting, Cade was the number one pick, was he not? Yeah, 20-21.
[17:58] Speaker 6: Cade being the number one pick and you being able
[18:00] Speaker 6: to say, let's build around something, right? You look at
[18:04] Speaker 6: Detroit when they was 0-4, there wasn't a building block
[18:06] Speaker 6: piece there that you say we're.
[18:08] Speaker 3: Going to build around.
[18:08] Speaker 6: Even though Ben Wallace was there probably the longest. You
[18:12] Speaker 6: look at Tayshaun, you look at Rip, you look at Chauncey,
[18:15] Speaker 6: you look at all those guys. Those guys came in.
[18:17] Speaker 6: Lindsey Hunter was probably one of the guys that was
[18:19] Speaker 6: there longer. Tonio McDyess, then you bring in Sheed. These
[18:23] Speaker 6: are all now guys that they're building around a culture
[18:26] Speaker 6: that is being resurfaced. This is something that they need
[18:29] Speaker 6: to reestablish. I don't think he's changing anything. I think
[18:33] Speaker 6: he's bringing that feeling back, right? And changing arenas, being
[18:37] Speaker 6: able to get a whole new feel for the whole
[18:40] Speaker 6: Detroit market, I think Cade can do that. And I
[18:43] Speaker 6: think he has the personality, as we've seen, that he
[18:46] Speaker 6: cares about winning. It's not about his individual accomplishments. He's
[18:50] Speaker 6: trying to restore something. Like you said, he said in
[18:53] Speaker 6: the press conference, be patient with us. We can do this.
[18:56] Speaker 6: We can get it back. And I like that type
[18:58] Speaker 6: of leadership, man. I think Jalen and Isaiah Stewart are
[19:02] Speaker 6: two type of guys that'll protect him and help him
[19:05] Speaker 6: get to that no matter what. You got an Amon
[19:07] Speaker 6: Thompson out there that plays hard.
[19:09] Speaker 3: Asar, my bad.
[19:10] Speaker 6: Asar Thompson. He's a really great defensive player, so you
[19:16] Speaker 6: got three defensive players. You can't say Kade don't play
[19:19] Speaker 6: no defense. He actually plays defense. Then you got a
[19:23] Speaker 6: couple shooters out there that you can depend on and
[19:25] Speaker 6: may not play as much defense, but J.B. Bickerstaff has
[19:28] Speaker 6: got them rolling, and I think that he should get
[19:32] Speaker 6: a lot more credit for that.
[19:34] Speaker 5: Let's just throw you, Mr. B., a former Detroit Piston,
[19:36] Speaker 5: but look at what, you know, in the previous seasons,
[19:39] Speaker 5: what the Pistons represented, I think, longest in-season losing streak
[19:42] Speaker 5: in NBA history.
[19:43] Speaker 1: A couple years ago.
[19:44] Speaker 5: But Cade emerging, number one overall pick, signature shoe line,
[19:48] Speaker 5: all-NBA last season. Should have been All-NBA this season, but
[19:52] Speaker 5: Pistons top seed in the East. What has Cade done
[19:55] Speaker 5: for the culture of the Detroit Pistons?
[19:57] Speaker 3: It's not just Cade.
[19:57] Speaker 4: It's JP, too. I think he should be coach of
[20:00] Speaker 4: the year. I got a chance to talk to him
[20:03] Speaker 4: earlier this year when I was in Milwaukee. Just his
[20:06] Speaker 4: improvements since he's got the job. from the player development,
[20:09] Speaker 4: their top five in defense this year, but also Cade.
[20:13] Speaker 4: And then Cade taking that next level of putting the
[20:16] Speaker 4: responsibility on his back and his team on his back,
[20:18] Speaker 4: and it's been shown with his play. But, you know,
[20:21] Speaker 4: you've got to credit both guys, though, because they're both–
[20:24] Speaker 4: it's a team and they're both working together. One, Cade,
[20:27] Speaker 4: trusts JB, and JB trusts Cade. So I just look
[20:31] Speaker 4: at it like, you know, it's a new era and it's–
[20:35] Speaker 4: You know, it's a different environment. You know, I mean,
[20:37] Speaker 4: they still have that bad boy type style, of course,
[20:40] Speaker 4: because it's Detroit. But, you know, this is something different.
[20:44] Speaker 3: When was the last time Detroit made the playoffs before
[20:47] Speaker 3: K got there?
[20:49] Speaker 6: How long has it been? Was it like Zach? Has
[20:54] Speaker 6: it been like Zach?
[20:55] Speaker 3: I know, I know.
[20:56] Speaker 1: I said before K, yeah.
[20:59] Speaker 3: 2019. They got swept by the Bucs in the first round. Oh, shit.
[21:02] Speaker 1: 2019, yeah.
[21:04] Speaker 3: I'm trying to think when. Yeah, who was on that team?
[21:06] Speaker 3: All right. Give me one second. I'm trying to think
[21:09] Speaker 3: the last time Pistons was like.
[21:12] Speaker 1: Andre Drummond, Reggie Jackson, Blake Griffin.
[21:15] Speaker 3: Blake. Oh, yeah.
[21:16] Speaker 6: That's when Blake was over there shooting jumpers.
[21:19] Speaker 3: Yeah, if I remember that. It was all right. It
[21:22] Speaker 3: was all right. That was all right.
[21:26] Speaker 6: Reggie was ball hogging that bitch out there.
[21:30] Speaker 1: Luke Kennard, Lansing Galloway. Lansing Galloway.
[21:34] Speaker 3: Once they got Rodney Stuckey and traded, what's the point
[21:39] Speaker 3: guard name? Will? They traded. Chauncey? Chauncey. Yeah. That's when
[21:44] Speaker 3: they started going down. They always had some good point guards. Yeah,
[21:50] Speaker 3: when they got Brandon Knight.
[21:52] Speaker 5: So we asked the chat, what's the Pistons ceiling this year?
[21:55] Speaker 5: We gave them the options. NBA Finals, Eastern Conference Finals,
[21:59] Speaker 5: second round exit, first round exit. 47% in the chat
[22:03] Speaker 5: thinks that the Pistons will make it to the Eastern
[22:04] Speaker 5: Conference Finals.
[22:05] Speaker 3: I believe so, too. I believe so, too. Against Boston.
[22:09] Speaker 3: Philly first round.
[22:10] Speaker 6: Which is going to be great. 1-8 is going to
[22:14] Speaker 6: be what?
[22:15] Speaker 3: Charlotte?
[22:16] Speaker 1: It has Hornets, I think, are currently 9th.
[22:19] Speaker 3: 9th?
[22:19] Speaker 1: Yeah, so they could.
[22:20] Speaker 3: Because Cleveland ain't getting there. Who 8? Philly right now.
[22:24] Speaker 3: Philly 8? I thought Philly was 6. Philly's 8.
[22:26] Speaker 1: But 7-1-8 is a game.
[22:28] Speaker 3: Is Cleveland Toronto?
[22:30] Speaker 5: So Cleveland, Atlanta, Toronto, Orlando, Philly, Hornets.
[22:36] Speaker 3: Orlando?
[22:37] Speaker 5: Orlando is seventh. But they're all right there. So these
[22:41] Speaker 5: next two games are going to determine a lot.
[22:42] Speaker 3: Is it starting with Cleveland? All of them with Cleveland?
[22:46] Speaker 1: So Cleveland, I believe, has the potential to jump to three.
[22:49] Speaker 3: Oh, shit.
[22:50] Speaker 5: If I'm not mistaken. So you got the Knicks third
[22:52] Speaker 5: right there.
[22:52] Speaker 1: Oh. Has the potential to jump to three. Atlanta, Toronto, Orlando.
[22:57] Speaker 5: The lowest they can finish is fourth. And then you
[22:59] Speaker 5: got the Hawks, Raptors, Magic.
[23:01] Speaker 3: I don't like none of them teams against Detroit. I
[23:05] Speaker 3: think the Hawks can get them. I don't like Philly.
[23:09] Speaker 3: Philly can get them.
[23:10] Speaker 6: I think Charlotte can surprise them. They can get Orlando, though.
[23:16] Speaker 6: They can get Charlotte, though. Outlast them. They're young still.
[23:22] Speaker 6: But that's what's scary about it. If they play well.
[23:26] Speaker 6: they can jump out and win the game. But if
[23:28] Speaker 6: they don't play well, it's like you're Charlotte.
[23:30] Speaker 3: Yeah. Like, what the fuck? But all the other teams, Atlanta,
[23:34] Speaker 3: Atlanta's scary.
[23:35] Speaker 1: You've been very high on the Hornets.
[23:37] Speaker 3: No, for sure.
[23:37] Speaker 1: Hornets play good basketball.
[23:38] Speaker 3: I like.
[23:38] Speaker 6: They've been losing a lot of little small games. Like,
[23:41] Speaker 6: they went to Boston and lost. That's a game they needed.
[23:44] Speaker 6: But it's Boston.
[23:45] Speaker 5: It's like, they've got Jalen Brown after that game saying
[23:48] Speaker 5: he sees a lot of the young Celtics in this
[23:50] Speaker 5: Hornet squad.
[23:51] Speaker 1: 35 on there.
[23:51] Speaker 3: He wasn't going to let them win that game.
[23:55] Speaker 6: But if they can get a couple games, I'm still
[23:58] Speaker 6: optimistic with Atlanta, though.
[23:59] Speaker 3: Atlanta look way different. Way different.
[24:03] Speaker 1: We got a good crew. Jalen Johnson, Nikhil Alexander-Walker.
[24:05] Speaker 3: Nikhil is playing out of his mind. All them teams
[24:08] Speaker 3: is young, though. Atlanta.
[24:11] Speaker 6: I mean, they got McCullen over there. At least one
[24:14] Speaker 6: guy that can show them something.
[24:18] Speaker 1: Well, let's keep this thing moving.
[24:19] Speaker 3: Playoffs start.
[24:20] Speaker 1: Plans start next week.
[24:21] Speaker 3: Man.
[24:22] Speaker 1: Playoffs start next weekend. Yes, sir.
[24:24] Speaker 6: That's fine.
[24:26] Speaker 1: It's that time of year, ladies and gentlemen. Doing those
[24:28] Speaker 1: scouting reports.
[24:29] Speaker 5: All right, well, let's keep this thing moving. Allen Iverson
[24:31] Speaker 5: has been a big critic of low management. A Hall
[24:34] Speaker 5: of Famer took aim at the trend yet again recently
[24:37] Speaker 5: when he posted the following to his Instagram. He said,
[24:41] Speaker 5: this all hit different for me. Low management? They took
[24:45] Speaker 5: me to hell for allegedly not practicing. Now they're crying
[24:48] Speaker 5: about the players not playing games. I played with every
[24:50] Speaker 5: injury you could think of to the point they had
[24:52] Speaker 5: to hide my jersey to keep me from playing.
[24:55] Speaker 1: True story.
[24:56] Speaker 5: Now we're talking about the game, not practice, not practice.
[25:00] Speaker 5: We're talking about the game. Don't cry now. What the
[25:03] Speaker 5: baby's going to.
[25:07] Speaker 1: Do?
[25:08] Speaker 5: We talked about this earlier in the week, Lylee. I
[25:11] Speaker 5: wanted to wait for you to get back on the
[25:12] Speaker 5: couch to really dive into this thing. But when you
[25:13] Speaker 5: see AI posting that, what's your reaction to Iris' Instagram post?
[25:18] Speaker 3: Full circle.
[25:19] Speaker 6: Everything come back full circle, especially the observation between us
[25:23] Speaker 6: trying to figure out is it the organization doing this
[25:27] Speaker 6: or is it the players.
[25:28] Speaker 3: That don't want to play?
[25:30] Speaker 6: And we will never really truly know what it is
[25:33] Speaker 6: because sometimes there are players that be like, yo, I
[25:35] Speaker 6: don't want to play tonight. You will never know if
[25:39] Speaker 6: that player is the guy that's like, yo, I don't
[25:41] Speaker 6: want to play tonight. But then there's the organization, like
[25:44] Speaker 6: what's happening with Giannis. Hey, yo, chill out. Then you
[25:50] Speaker 6: see like down in Utah, they got like eight guys
[25:52] Speaker 6: out for the season and certain guys like really tanking.
[25:57] Speaker 6: And you're looking at it like, are these dudes, did
[25:59] Speaker 6: they just pack it up? Or is the organization saying, look,
[26:05] Speaker 6: y'all chill and you don't talk to the press about it.
[26:08] Speaker 3: And you don't. And you can't. If you do, you
[26:10] Speaker 3: know it's over. It's over.
[26:12] Speaker 6: We invested in this movement. You moved with us. You
[26:15] Speaker 6: moved with us. And like A.I. said, you had to
[26:19] Speaker 6: hide my jersey from me.
[26:21] Speaker 3: You know what I'm saying?
[26:22] Speaker 6: For me to not play and me talking about practice,
[26:26] Speaker 6: y'all killed me for this. And that, to me, is
[26:29] Speaker 6: kind of like a shot at Stephen A and those guys.
[26:33] Speaker 6: Because the national media should now have an outrage and
[26:37] Speaker 6: make a thing of it like they made a thing.
[26:40] Speaker 1: Of it before.
[26:42] Speaker 3: You killed him for this. For his practice comment.
[26:46] Speaker 1: We're talking about practice.
[26:47] Speaker 6: And now we got guys don't even want to show
[26:49] Speaker 6: up because it's Memphis and Milwaukee.
[26:52] Speaker 3: Darker panel. Jordan would never miss practice. Man, you got
[26:55] Speaker 3: to play, man. Let's play.
[26:56] Speaker 6: And that's why K's comment meant something to the fans.
[27:00] Speaker 6: It's like low management. Man, if I can play, let
[27:02] Speaker 6: me play. You know what I'm saying? That's why he
[27:04] Speaker 6: came back. If I'm healthy, I feel like I can play,
[27:07] Speaker 6: let me play. And I think that's important.
[27:09] Speaker 3: It's important.
[27:10] Speaker 6: And AI is a– man, you talk about a horror hat.
[27:14] Speaker 6: You talk about a guy go out there and die
[27:16] Speaker 6: on his shield. Man, you can't compare a lot of
[27:19] Speaker 6: the guys out there that will play with broken something
[27:24] Speaker 6: and torn ligaments and hitting the ground every time.
[27:29] Speaker 3: Man, I love that.
[27:32] Speaker 5: 914 career games, average 41 minutes per game.
[27:37] Speaker 3: Out of 48?
[27:37] Speaker 6: 27 points, 4 rebounds, 6 assists.
[27:41] Speaker 4: It's just sad to the fact that this is where
[27:43] Speaker 4: the game has come.
[27:45] Speaker 3: They don't even practice.
[27:46] Speaker 4: There's so many things where it's like, we don't even
[27:50] Speaker 4: practice now. There's so many other things that we can
[27:52] Speaker 4: miss out on. But now we got to miss out
[27:54] Speaker 4: on a game? Since we don't practice, we're already getting
[27:56] Speaker 4: the rest. I know for one thing, I feel like
[27:59] Speaker 4: every player will just miss practice and these little activities
[28:02] Speaker 4: and all this other stuff we got to do besides
[28:03] Speaker 4: missing the game.
[28:06] Speaker 3: So. I just kept your seat warm for you.
[28:09] Speaker 1: Kept it warm?
[28:10] Speaker 3: I just kept your seat warm. No, I don't want it. No,
[28:13] Speaker 3: I don't want it. Situation of walking. You get attacked
[28:15] Speaker 3: right there. You get attacked right here. It is kind
[28:20] Speaker 3: of nice over here. I like sitting closer to it.
[28:23] Speaker 1: Ladies and gentlemen, entering his arena.
[28:24] Speaker 3: How y'all fellas doing, man?
[28:26] Speaker 5: NBA legend, our greatest, most wanted, Gilbert Arena. Demon home.
[28:33] Speaker 5: Demon home.
[28:34] Speaker 2: I ain't gonna lie, man. Y'all sounded boring as a
[28:39] Speaker 2: motherfucker in that car, man. I had to drink a
[28:41] Speaker 2: Celsius to try to watch y'all.
[28:43] Speaker 3: You drink Celsius? Yeah, I drink Celsius.
[28:45] Speaker 1: A delicious beverage.
[28:46] Speaker 3: Enjoying my home. Doing your push-ups? I get ready for
[28:52] Speaker 3: hard times.
[28:54] Speaker 5: Glad that you pulled up the chat and you said
[28:57] Speaker 5: you were low managing. Yeah, I've been low managing, man.
[29:00] Speaker 5: So we talked about Allen Iverson's comments against low management. Ian,
[29:04] Speaker 5: can we pull that back up, please? If you don't mind.
[29:09] Speaker 5: So I said, this is all here different for me.
[29:11] Speaker 5: Low management, they took me to hell for allegedly not practicing.
[29:13] Speaker 5: Now they crying about the players not playing games. I
[29:16] Speaker 5: play with every injury you could think of to the
[29:18] Speaker 5: point they had to hide my jersey to keep me
[29:19] Speaker 5: from playing.
[29:20] Speaker 1: True story. Now we're talking about the game, not practice.
[29:24] Speaker 3: Not practice.
[29:25] Speaker 1: We're talking about the game. Don't cry now. What the
[29:28] Speaker 1: baby's going to do.
[29:29] Speaker 5: When you hear AI saying that, what does that mean
[29:33] Speaker 5: to you to see him be such an advocate against
[29:35] Speaker 5: this new age trend of low managing?
[29:39] Speaker 3: Okay.
[29:40] Speaker 2: Um he's he's correct on on the sense of you
[29:47] Speaker 2: know that era and there.
[29:49] Speaker 3: Was before had to actually go out.
[29:52] Speaker 2: And play right um Injured, half injured. The idea was
[30:00] Speaker 2: I want my best product.
[30:01] Speaker 3: On the floor at all times. Right.
[30:04] Speaker 2: So playing through injuries, they had to hide the jersey
[30:07] Speaker 2: so he wouldn't play. Now, those guys are smarter than
[30:12] Speaker 2: the guys before. Because now you're I got to hide
[30:17] Speaker 2: the jersey from you. That's what we're going to do now.
[30:21] Speaker 2: So Allen Iverson. the Cobes, all those guys, we lost
[30:27] Speaker 2: their careers because of injuries.
[30:31] Speaker 3: Right?
[30:31] Speaker 2: So now if you look at today's game, you have
[30:35] Speaker 2: Curry playing at 37.
[30:36] Speaker 3: That's true.
[30:38] Speaker 2: You have James Harden. Look what they're doing at this
[30:41] Speaker 2: age while everybody else's body was falling apart.
[30:44] Speaker 3: Right?
[30:45] Speaker 2: Done at 35. Before us, done at 33, they was
[30:48] Speaker 2: out of their primes.
[30:49] Speaker 3: Right?
[30:49] Speaker 2: So now these guys, how Allen Iverson looked at 27, 28,
[30:54] Speaker 2: They're looking like that at 37 now. So it's like, yeah,
[30:58] Speaker 2: we're going to take 10 games off and we're going
[30:59] Speaker 2: to make sure you're not playing banged up so we
[31:03] Speaker 2: can extend your career so I can.
[31:05] Speaker 3: Have you longer.
[31:06] Speaker 2: Now think about Allen Iverson in Philly, like Curry in
[31:10] Speaker 2: Golden State. I have my product longer, meaning I get
[31:15] Speaker 2: to sell out seats longer, years, decades, more jerseys every year.
[31:23] Speaker 2: like clockwork with Steph and all these guys that are
[31:26] Speaker 2: sitting in these cities, then they're 20 years, right? Instead
[31:31] Speaker 2: of me having him for a great 11. So they're
[31:34] Speaker 2: just extending the years. It's the same, let's say, 1,500 games,
[31:40] Speaker 2: but instead of having it in a 10-year span, I'm
[31:42] Speaker 2: going to have it in 17, 18. So I understand
[31:46] Speaker 2: what Alan's saying, and that is the basketball player ain't changed.
[31:52] Speaker 3: The goal is still a goal.
[31:54] Speaker 2: I want to go out there. I want to compete.
[31:56] Speaker 2: I want to win a scoring title. We come in
[32:00] Speaker 2: with individual thought process and then the team atmosphere is
[32:04] Speaker 2: what turns us into champions and stuff like that. But
[32:09] Speaker 2: all NBA, defensive style, scoring titles, all of that is
[32:13] Speaker 2: still what makes.
[32:14] Speaker 3: You the top five, the top ten, right?
[32:20] Speaker 2: It gives you those contracts. So I want to be
[32:23] Speaker 2: on the court. I want to play. I want to
[32:27] Speaker 2: be out there. But if you're going to say, hey,
[32:31] Speaker 2: we're going to lower manage you today, take the day off, well,
[32:36] Speaker 2: you got a little calf bruise, okay, we're going to
[32:40] Speaker 2: take seven, eight days off. The people who own these teams,
[32:48] Speaker 2: they're investing now in longevity. It's not, I need you
[32:52] Speaker 2: to get out there because season ticket holders is complaining.
[32:56] Speaker 3: That's not the thing. That was the thing with us.
[32:58] Speaker 2: Right? Where, you know, my injury is my injury. And
[33:01] Speaker 2: they're like, no, no, come on.
[33:03] Speaker 3: Come back. Let's go. Let's go. Let's see what you got.
[33:05] Speaker 3: And I'm like, I got you. I got you, boss. Right?
[33:08] Speaker 2: You know, they're like.
[33:09] Speaker 3: Ain't that the thing that got AI traded to? What?
[33:12] Speaker 3: The practice incident? I'm going to just be honest with you.
[33:18] Speaker 3: It was a weird thing.
[33:20] Speaker 2: It was a weird backlash against Iverson of practicing.
[33:26] Speaker 3: Every superstar was like, who the fuck practices?
[33:30] Speaker 2: Like, who, like, practice for the star, like, what plays,
[33:35] Speaker 2: what plays in practice are we, like, let's just be honest.
[33:37] Speaker 2: Let's just think about the game itself. All right, we're
[33:40] Speaker 2: going to take the superstars of the NBA, right? When
[33:46] Speaker 2: you in practice and you have Luka, right?
[33:51] Speaker 3: Luka, Cade.
[33:54] Speaker 2: What plays are y'all doing in practice if we see
[33:56] Speaker 2: the game?
[33:56] Speaker 3: We see the game.
[33:58] Speaker 2: So you're going to waste two hours of practice for
[34:00] Speaker 2: him to do pick and.
[34:00] Speaker 3: Rolls, right?
[34:02] Speaker 2: Pick and rolls, look for people. No, what you're going
[34:05] Speaker 2: to do in practice is what? Do some regular ass
[34:07] Speaker 2: plays you're never going to call in the game. So
[34:10] Speaker 2: practice in reality, the way it's played now, five out.
[34:15] Speaker 3: What are you practicing for?
[34:18] Speaker 2: The superstars are going to take 20, 25 shots. You know,
[34:20] Speaker 2: that's not your practice. Your practice is getting a whole
[34:23] Speaker 2: bunch of people involved that don't get the ball in
[34:25] Speaker 2: the game.
[34:27] Speaker 3: Right.
[34:27] Speaker 2: So the star player didn't practice. So there can be
[34:31] Speaker 2: a real practice because if you put your star player
[34:33] Speaker 2: in there, then all he's trying to do is get
[34:35] Speaker 2: activated so he can tell whoever's guarding his ass up.
[34:37] Speaker 2: And if he is in practice, he ain't he ain't
[34:39] Speaker 2: doing what he does in the game. So it's not
[34:42] Speaker 2: it's not a real thing.
[34:43] Speaker 3: But why not, though?
[34:45] Speaker 4: If, like, why wouldn't you do that if you got players, like,
[34:48] Speaker 4: you know, like, so how would your teammates get in
[34:50] Speaker 4: the rhythm with you? Like, if Luka's not practicing, right,
[34:53] Speaker 4: all these passes and stuff, how would they know they're
[34:55] Speaker 4: all coming and all this stuff? Does, like, you, do
[34:59] Speaker 4: you do, but that's what I'm saying, like, I know
[35:00] Speaker 4: what I'm saying, like, so do they just, okay, here,
[35:03] Speaker 4: just sit in this corner because Luka's going to pass
[35:04] Speaker 4: it right here and just shoot 300 shots? But that's
[35:07] Speaker 4: what they've been starting to do. I know, but wouldn't
[35:10] Speaker 4: it be a better thing if Luka's passing me the
[35:11] Speaker 4: ball so I can get used to it?
[35:13] Speaker 2: Like, It is, but when has it happened?
[35:16] Speaker 3: It doesn't matter who passes the ball.
[35:19] Speaker 4: No, but I'm saying the rhythm of how he plays, though,
[35:21] Speaker 4: you still need to. It's one thing to just go
[35:23] Speaker 4: to the corner and be like, all right, like split
[35:25] Speaker 4: to the corner and shoot 10 threes. But it's like
[35:28] Speaker 4: if it's a game rhythm like with Lucas, like, okay,
[35:31] Speaker 4: I know how it's coming.
[35:32] Speaker 2: Like, it's different.
[35:33] Speaker 3: Let's talk hoop for a second.
[35:35] Speaker 6: We gotten away from what we essentially loved about practice,
[35:40] Speaker 6: which was executing.
[35:42] Speaker 3: We got plays.
[35:43] Speaker 6: We're going to execute the plays, which is why we practice. Usually,
[35:47] Speaker 6: we got secondary offense. We're going to run four outside.
[35:51] Speaker 6: We're going to run turn down with the double screen
[35:53] Speaker 6: on the weak side. It depends on who on the
[35:56] Speaker 6: weak side. Me and Nick, let's just say you playing
[35:59] Speaker 6: the two. You playing the three. I play the four.
[36:02] Speaker 6: BJ playing the one. He bring it down. He call
[36:04] Speaker 6: a play.
[36:05] Speaker 3: Me and you.
[36:07] Speaker 6: Know that depending on what side of the floor, depending.
[36:10] Speaker 3: On where we– I might get it or you might
[36:12] Speaker 3: get it.
[36:13] Speaker 6: And same as him, if we're doing the two-hawk, if
[36:17] Speaker 6: we do two-hawk from up top, it's coming from him.
[36:20] Speaker 6: We got to space out. We got to be where
[36:21] Speaker 6: we at. But we executing these plays based on who
[36:25] Speaker 6: the star of the team is. If Gil's the star
[36:28] Speaker 6: of the team, he had two-hawk, we know this plays
[36:31] Speaker 6: for him. We running this play based on what the
[36:33] Speaker 6: defense is going to do against this play. not necessarily
[36:37] Speaker 6: trying to figure out who's going to get a shot.
[36:39] Speaker 6: It's like how we're going to execute when the game
[36:41] Speaker 6: comes down. That's what y'all said as far as not
[36:44] Speaker 6: happening no more. That we don't do no executing because
[36:48] Speaker 6: there is a five-out offense where we know he's taking
[36:52] Speaker 6: 25 shots on the pick and roll. There's no need
[36:55] Speaker 6: for us to practice executing a play because there's really
[36:58] Speaker 6: no play to execute.
[37:00] Speaker 3: There is a play. I think you got to be
[37:03] Speaker 3: smart out there now. Like pick and roll, you know,
[37:06] Speaker 3: get in this spot, move over here. And back then,
[37:09] Speaker 3: calling on them plays, we was getting up to, what,
[37:12] Speaker 3: 80 points? Yeah. Now they're going to 100. So you're
[37:15] Speaker 3: pushing ahead. They're throwing that bitch ahead. Remember how you
[37:18] Speaker 3: used to run in the corner and just stay there?
[37:20] Speaker 3: You're talking about load management now. Our cross?
[37:22] Speaker 6: Remember, the conversation is on the load management. You're moving
[37:26] Speaker 6: the ball. You're running up and down more. A lot
[37:29] Speaker 6: of the energy is being exerted on conditioning. Now, not
[37:33] Speaker 6: weightlifting and being strong and being sturdy because back then
[37:36] Speaker 6: we actually had time. We're using the 24-shot clock. Now,
[37:41] Speaker 6: then Tony comes in and says, we want you to
[37:42] Speaker 6: shoot at seven seconds or less, eight seconds or less. Now,
[37:46] Speaker 6: everybody's moving faster. So now your body is actually going
[37:50] Speaker 6: to be beat up more than it was before because
[37:53] Speaker 6: you're spending more time running. So guys are more tired, right?
[37:58] Speaker 6: But the AI shit was coming from him being knocked
[38:00] Speaker 6: down to the ground. D-Wade being knocked down to the ground. Shit,
[38:04] Speaker 6: Gil was knocked to the ground.
[38:06] Speaker 3: Fall down, seven, get up. Man. So wouldn't that hurt
[38:08] Speaker 3: you more?
[38:08] Speaker 4: If I'm running up and down and I'm not doing contact,
[38:11] Speaker 4: I should be, it should be better.
[38:13] Speaker 2: I've been trying to hear the argument from today's game
[38:20] Speaker 2: of it's harder, but how is it harder for you
[38:24] Speaker 2: if you never played Back in the day, right? Because
[38:29] Speaker 2: if we was running from baseline to baseline because the
[38:32] Speaker 2: ball went inside and we had to get through two
[38:36] Speaker 2: big defenders, right? We're getting to the free throw line.
[38:39] Speaker 2: We're picking up full court, pressing and all that stuff.
[38:42] Speaker 2: How can you say today's game is much faster if
[38:46] Speaker 2: you're just going from 3.3 to 3? Right, you shoot
[38:51] Speaker 2: three and three. So majority of the time, y'all are
[38:53] Speaker 2: not even getting all the.
[38:55] Speaker 3: Way up and down.
[38:56] Speaker 2: Y'all are not running all the way through the game.
[38:59] Speaker 3: You know what I mean? You have to sprint and
[39:01] Speaker 3: get out the other side. That means it's faster.
[39:04] Speaker 1: The pace is faster.
[39:04] Speaker 3: No, no, no, no, no. That is an illusion.
[39:05] Speaker 1: We averaged 105 to 110 points, right?
[39:06] Speaker 2: With less threes.
[39:08] Speaker 3: That means we're getting layups....
[39:20] Speaker 2: In free throws, meaning we're getting hit more.
[39:22] Speaker 3: And we're using the shot clock more. All you got
[39:23] Speaker 3: to do is look at the shots. And so I'm
[39:26] Speaker 3: looking at a score.
[39:27] Speaker 2: And I'm looking at a score, and today is supposed
[39:30] Speaker 2: to be two times faster. How can you have a
[39:33] Speaker 2: two-time faster game and you score.
[39:36] Speaker 3: A.
[39:38] Speaker 2: Team scores 98 points. A team has 90 and 96.
[39:41] Speaker 2: Another team has 95, 102, 105, 87... 103. And you're
[39:52] Speaker 2: shooting 50 threes, 48 threes a game. Because you're taking
[39:58] Speaker 2: more threes, but you're not making them at a high
[40:01] Speaker 2: rate to overcome layups.
[40:03] Speaker 3: You're just taking more shots.
[40:05] Speaker 2: Right, so if you're taking 50 threes, we took 14.
[40:08] Speaker 3: That mean it's more, though? No, no, no. We're talking
[40:11] Speaker 3: about the output.
[40:12] Speaker 6: You're just talking about the output.
[40:14] Speaker 2: The output, if we're both taking 90 shots, 80.
[40:20] Speaker 3: Of mine is layups.
[40:21] Speaker 2: 50 is yours is threes, but you're missing your threes
[40:25] Speaker 2: and we're coming into the same output. You're not moving faster.
[40:29] Speaker 2: It's actually lazier.
[40:30] Speaker 3: Yeah, you're playing lazy basketball. I can tell you right
[40:33] Speaker 3: through it. It's a lot more bad shots. It's a
[40:34] Speaker 3: lot more bad shots. No, no, no. It's a lot
[40:36] Speaker 3: more bad shots. Three on three is tired. When you
[40:37] Speaker 3: get older and lazy and you're out of shape, when.
[40:39] Speaker 2: You're playing 24-hour fitness, what is 90% of your game?
[40:49] Speaker 3: Threes.
[40:49] Speaker 2: You're just shooting jumpers. I would settle for the three
[40:52] Speaker 2: because I don't want to spend more energy.
[40:54] Speaker 3: Yeah. Right?
[40:56] Speaker 2: So it's hard to really track on who's moving faster,
[41:00] Speaker 2: but we can.
[41:00] Speaker 3: Say the 60s moved better. See, that's what I said.
[41:04] Speaker 2: History says today's game is not moving as fast as
[41:07] Speaker 2: they think because 60s, no threes.
[41:11] Speaker 3: They were getting to it. They're averaging 120, 130.
[41:14] Speaker 6: It makes way more sense when you put it like
[41:18] Speaker 6: that because not only is it lazy, but it's bad basketball.
[41:23] Speaker 6: When you're talking about taking bad shots, think about it.
[41:25] Speaker 6: It's a lot of bad shots. Just hear me out.
[41:29] Speaker 6: Think about how bad the shots are when you come down,
[41:32] Speaker 6: there is no play, three seconds on the shot clock,
[41:34] Speaker 6: motherfucker just shoot that shit. Offensive rebound. What usually happens
[41:38] Speaker 6: when you get an offensive rebound? Joe, you know. You
[41:41] Speaker 6: play college basketball, get an offensive rebound.
[41:43] Speaker 3: What happens? You get it out. You reset the offense.
[41:47] Speaker 3: That takes too long. They're shooting that. Why reset if
[41:51] Speaker 3: I'm wide open?
[41:52] Speaker 6: Because we got.
[41:53] Speaker 1: A new shot clock. We have time.
[41:57] Speaker 3: That's the pay. Get the rebound, find the guard.
[41:59] Speaker 6: So when you do that, what you're saying, you catch it,
[42:01] Speaker 6: you're open, right?
[42:03] Speaker 3: And you miss again.
[42:05] Speaker 6: Right now we get the rebound we now have a
[42:08] Speaker 6: fast break opportunity based on your long shot long rebound
[42:13] Speaker 6: we push it ahead now guess what we get we
[42:15] Speaker 6: get a layup you just took two threes bad shots
[42:20] Speaker 6: we come down get a good ethical layup based on.
[42:23] Speaker 3: How is that a bad shot if you doing all
[42:25] Speaker 3: that to get a guy an open shot You're doing
[42:29] Speaker 3: all that, and I'm open, and you pass it to
[42:31] Speaker 3: me and say I missed the three. You've raised all
[42:33] Speaker 3: the shot clock, and I'm open, and I missed the
[42:36] Speaker 3: three still. And you get the offensive rebound. And y'all
[42:39] Speaker 3: do it all again, and the next person is open,
[42:41] Speaker 3: and he missed it. Guess what we're doing? We're making
[42:43] Speaker 3: the defense work. You're doing all that in one minute,
[42:46] Speaker 3: and I did that in 13 seconds.
[42:48] Speaker 6: No, because we're executing a good shot. It's the difference
[42:51] Speaker 6: between a good shot.
[42:52] Speaker 3: And a bad shot. open.
[42:55] Speaker 4: If he's open, if I get off the board and
[42:56] Speaker 4: you open, if I get off the board and I
[42:58] Speaker 4: pass to you and.
[42:59] Speaker 3: You open, you're Jared Vanderbilt. You're Jared Vanderbilt. No, we
[43:02] Speaker 3: don't have to. No, you're Nick Young. You're Nick Young.
[43:05] Speaker 2: I'm supposed to pass it to the top, to the guard.
[43:08] Speaker 5: No, no, no.
[43:09] Speaker 3: No, no, no.
[43:09] Speaker 6: If you're Nick Young and we get the offensive rebound
[43:12] Speaker 6: and I pass it to you, I want you to
[43:14] Speaker 6: shoot that ball, right?
[43:15] Speaker 3: Because you're Nick.
[43:16] Speaker 6: You shoot 38% from the three.
[43:18] Speaker 3: That's a good, solid shot for you, but it's still
[43:21] Speaker 3: a quick, bad shot. No. It is. Because you're doing
[43:25] Speaker 3: all that and say, Brandon, come off the pick and
[43:27] Speaker 3: hit me with the same play. No, no, no. This
[43:29] Speaker 3: is what's different. Same shot.
[43:30] Speaker 6: Brandon gets the ball back at the top of the key.
[43:33] Speaker 6: You got the offensive. We're going to Nick. We're going
[43:36] Speaker 6: to run Nick's play now. Now we got a chance
[43:38] Speaker 6: to get a clean shot for you, bro.
[43:40] Speaker 3: Not a fast. We get your shot that we've been
[43:44] Speaker 3: practicing on. If you open, I'm open. Yes. If you open,
[43:48] Speaker 3: you open. If you open, shoot the ball.
[43:50] Speaker 6: The difference is we have 24 seconds to get you
[43:53] Speaker 6: a good shot that you like.
[43:56] Speaker 3: Yeah, you open.
[43:57] Speaker 6: But look, if you miss it, it's a quick bad shot.
[44:03] Speaker 6: The coach is looking like, man, look, man, y'all keep
[44:05] Speaker 6: shooting the ball after offensive rebound.
[44:07] Speaker 3: Let's set it back up. Let's make them work on defense.
[44:12] Speaker 2: I think he's I think I think the problem is
[44:14] Speaker 2: you're you're thinking about yourself.
[44:16] Speaker 3: So let me do this for you. No, I'm thinking
[44:18] Speaker 3: about the pace of the game.
[44:20] Speaker 2: No, no, I'm going to give you the pace of
[44:21] Speaker 2: the game.
[44:22] Speaker 3: Like, this pace is able to get everybody shot. Not
[44:27] Speaker 3: just the star. You run the play to get to
[44:29] Speaker 3: the post. Now, that's what I wanted to talk to
[44:30] Speaker 3: you about. Okay. Yeah. I see. I just looked. No, no, no.
[44:37] Speaker 2: When I left, right?
[44:38] Speaker 3: Oh, no, I'm on a team.
[44:40] Speaker 2: So, it's me, JaVale, John Walker, Andre Blotch, you, Alonzo G.
[44:45] Speaker 3: right?
[44:46] Speaker 1: Right.
[44:47] Speaker 2: We shot a game, we shot 17 threes, right?
[44:50] Speaker 3: 17. That means threes.
[44:52] Speaker 2: Right? Now they're saying you have to take 45 threes.
[44:58] Speaker 2: Now this becomes a problem. Who is going to take
[45:02] Speaker 2: the extra 40 threes? We got to take 30 more
[45:07] Speaker 2: threes now. So we have to take 30 more threes
[45:10] Speaker 2: from this team.
[45:12] Speaker 3: Who is taking them?
[45:14] Speaker 2: Right?
[45:14] Speaker 3: I took nine this game. That means McGee. That means McGee.
[45:17] Speaker 3: I mean, I take nine. So because you took two
[45:20] Speaker 3: this game. I didn't shoot that many. You took two.
[45:22] Speaker 2: So that means Andre Blotch got to sit there and
[45:24] Speaker 2: shoot more. Kirk Henry got to shoot more. John Wall
[45:27] Speaker 2: got to shoot more.
[45:28] Speaker 3: Right? McGill is going to chuck up some. Right.
[45:30] Speaker 2: Trevor Booker got it. So you see how many more
[45:33] Speaker 2: people are going to be taking shots because we might
[45:36] Speaker 2: not be able to give you your 10 threes. You
[45:38] Speaker 2: might not be able to give me 10 threes. So
[45:40] Speaker 2: that means John Wall's going to have to take 10 threes.
[45:42] Speaker 2: Andre Blach is going to have to take 10. So
[45:44] Speaker 2: now you see where the bad shooting comes from, because
[45:47] Speaker 2: shooters who can't shoot.
[45:48] Speaker 3: Because they get that outlet instead of looking for a view,
[45:50] Speaker 3: I'm going to shoot it.
[45:52] Speaker 6: It's the bad shots from the shooters who can't shoot
[45:54] Speaker 6: that you're saying, go ahead and shoot it because you're open.
[45:57] Speaker 3: You're open shooting.
[45:58] Speaker 6: You know, we know you can't shoot it.
[46:00] Speaker 3: But they don't know the personnel because you know. But
[46:03] Speaker 3: that is their personnel. Everybody is supposed to be able
[46:07] Speaker 3: to shoot the three. Supposed to. But if you're open.
[46:12] Speaker 6: How many players on each team in the NBA can shoot?
[46:16] Speaker 3: Over 37%. And that's why they're always good teams. But
[46:18] Speaker 3: would you say the teams have better shooters now than
[46:20] Speaker 3: they did? Yes. I wouldn't. That's why it's good teams
[46:24] Speaker 3: and bad teams. It's an illusion.
[46:25] Speaker 6: It's an illusion of guys that can shoot the ball
[46:28] Speaker 6: and guys who are streaky.
[46:30] Speaker 3: No, it's not. It can be a streaky score. They're
[46:32] Speaker 3: not better. They're just programmed. Like, bigs are programmed not
[46:36] Speaker 3: to shoot that motherfucker. Back then? People was programmed not
[46:39] Speaker 3: to shoot. So that don't mean you're a better shooter.
[46:41] Speaker 3: You just know if you shoot this dumb shit, you're
[46:43] Speaker 3: going out the game.
[46:44] Speaker 6: Why were you programmed, though? Because you're a big. Because
[46:46] Speaker 6: there wasn't open-minded. No, no, no, because you're a big.
[46:49] Speaker 6: This era is open-minded.
[46:51] Speaker 3: Oh, they give a.
[46:51] Speaker 4: Program because that's how they taught the game.
[46:53] Speaker 3: Kevin Love. Now they teach the game something different. Now
[46:56] Speaker 3: Joker brings up the ball. Yeah, they teach the game
[46:58] Speaker 3: something different. Kevin Love, right?
[47:00] Speaker 6: When Kevin Love came in the league, they was telling
[47:02] Speaker 6: him not to shoot the three.
[47:03] Speaker 3: I know. Right? When they took.
[47:06] Speaker 6: KG out of there and it became a big system
[47:10] Speaker 6: where it wasn't throw it into the post. Kevin, we
[47:13] Speaker 6: need you to shoot more threes now.
[47:15] Speaker 3: Ain't that limiting your game? Like, you put limits on
[47:19] Speaker 3: players back in the day. Like, you're telling a player
[47:21] Speaker 3: you can't do certain things.
[47:22] Speaker 2: But if you can't do it, you can't do it.
[47:24] Speaker 3: You can't do it, but he can. He can do it.
[47:26] Speaker 3: Even if you could, you knew you couldn't. No, what
[47:28] Speaker 3: I'm saying is we're not talking about imagine.
[47:31] Speaker 2: You can't change the shot. Imagine JaVale allowing to shoot
[47:35] Speaker 2: the shots he wanted to shoot.
[47:36] Speaker 3: But we know he can't. That's like saying go bird,
[47:38] Speaker 3: shoot three. We know he can't, but the system now
[47:43] Speaker 3: says go do it because it's open. They're saying work
[47:45] Speaker 3: on it in the summer. Work on it in the summer.
[47:47] Speaker 3: I don't see go bird or nothing. We need to
[47:49] Speaker 3: get you. But a player like Andre Blatt that could
[47:52] Speaker 3: play all around? He could shoot that, but they told
[47:55] Speaker 3: him no shoot.
[47:56] Speaker 6: He was shooting it anyway. He can't bring it up.
[47:58] Speaker 6: He could dribble, do everything. If he got the rebound,
[48:01] Speaker 6: he was dribbling it up.
[48:03] Speaker 2: But if he got the rebound, he dribbled it up.
[48:06] Speaker 2: Instead of passing it to my three-point shooter now, DeAndre
[48:10] Speaker 2: Blotch gets the rebound and he's at the three. He's
[48:13] Speaker 2: going to shoot it more because he don't have to
[48:14] Speaker 2: give it to you now. So now, JaVale, I don't
[48:17] Speaker 2: have to give it to you now.
[48:18] Speaker 3: I'm going to shoot it.
[48:19] Speaker 2: So now, instead of giving it to my shooter, my
[48:22] Speaker 2: worst shooters are going to shoot more shots.
[48:24] Speaker 3: But that's why Bam has 83. Bam wouldn't be able
[48:27] Speaker 3: to shoot threes back in the day. These guys would
[48:30] Speaker 3: be limited. No, that's Andre Blatch right there. He wouldn't
[48:33] Speaker 3: be limited. He'd have to have his post back to
[48:35] Speaker 3: the wall, face up shit all day. He wouldn't be
[48:38] Speaker 3: able to do all this shit.
[48:40] Speaker 6: Bam would be similar to Rasheed Wallace.
[48:43] Speaker 3: He could stretch the floor.
[48:44] Speaker 1: He's a stretch B.
[48:46] Speaker 3: He's not a limited B.
[48:47] Speaker 2: Remember, I have to get 40 more threes up. or
[48:50] Speaker 2: 30 more threes into this game. So that means it's
[48:53] Speaker 2: just not Andre Block.
[48:54] Speaker 3: It's everybody.
[48:55] Speaker 2: So that means now they're coming off. Anybody who feels
[48:58] Speaker 2: they're open is going to take it. So Jared Jeffries
[49:01] Speaker 2: on our team is taking a shot.
[49:03] Speaker 3: And I'm sure he'll be working on it. He'll be
[49:05] Speaker 3: working on it. But now think about it.
[49:06] Speaker 2: You've been shooting three your whole life.
[49:09] Speaker 3: Okay.
[49:10] Speaker 2: You've been shooting three your whole life. You are a
[49:12] Speaker 2: three-point shooter. Three-point shooter. Three-point shooter, right? And then they're like, hey,
[49:16] Speaker 2: we need to get 30 more threes up.
[49:17] Speaker 3: Gil, start working on your three. Okay. start working on
[49:20] Speaker 3: your three. Possessions, get the ball. It's better. You're getting better.
[49:24] Speaker 2: Now, instead of me passing you and swinging, you know, swing,
[49:28] Speaker 2: swing to my shooter.
[49:29] Speaker 3: Swing, swing to the shooter.
[49:30] Speaker 2: Now I'm going to shoot the ball, and I'm just
[49:32] Speaker 2: learning how to shoot the three, but because we've got
[49:33] Speaker 2: to take 30 more.
[49:35] Speaker 3: I get to throw it up there. I mean, listen,
[49:37] Speaker 3: we saw it happen with Boston. They won. But they
[49:39] Speaker 3: got shooter. Shooting threes, right? Was Derek White a three-point shooter? Yes.
[49:43] Speaker 1: Like that.
[49:44] Speaker 3: Yes. But the thing is, they're not limited.
[49:48] Speaker 2: It's not limited to just this type of player can
[49:51] Speaker 2: do everything and everybody else can sit around.
[49:54] Speaker 6: Well, it's not about limiting the player. No, it's about
[49:57] Speaker 6: changing the game of basketball.
[49:59] Speaker 3: This is changing the game.
[50:01] Speaker 6: So what you've done is you've taken execution out. based
[50:05] Speaker 6: on a player that cannot shoot the ball you're saying
[50:08] Speaker 6: he can now you're saying go work on shooting right
[50:11] Speaker 6: but we know our team dynamic is this is the
[50:15] Speaker 6: shooter this is the slasher this is the rebounder.
[50:18] Speaker 3: How you gonna tell somebody what they are it's called
[50:20] Speaker 3: a role i mean it's called a role now no
[50:24] Speaker 3: you put somebody in a role and.
[50:25] Speaker 6: They just can't do nothing but gary vanderbilt what's your
[50:28] Speaker 6: role you're telling me he's the shooter now He just
[50:31] Speaker 6: took him out of the fucking game for missing three
[50:33] Speaker 6: free throws. You think that he's the shooter that JJ's like,
[50:37] Speaker 6: shoot that shit every time you're open?
[50:39] Speaker 2: No.
[50:39] Speaker 3: Do you want him shooting three throws? He has a role.
[50:41] Speaker 3: Do you want him shooting? He has a role. Right now,
[50:44] Speaker 3: I do. He can't shoot it. Right now, I do.
[50:45] Speaker 3: He can't shoot it. I mean, we don't have nothing else.
[50:47] Speaker 3: He don't shoot, period. But this is where the game,
[50:50] Speaker 3: everybody's shooting three, so you might as well just work
[50:52] Speaker 3: on your three. Now, think about what you said. Like, shit.
[50:54] Speaker 3: Think about what you.
[50:55] Speaker 2: Said, and you can see why the points are not 150, 140.
[50:59] Speaker 2: Because if Vanderbilt shoots 15% from the three and you say,
[51:02] Speaker 2: I don't have no shooters, that's the worst one you
[51:05] Speaker 2: want shooting, but he.
[51:06] Speaker 3: Gets to take 10 of them. He ain't going to
[51:08] Speaker 3: make 30 points.
[51:09] Speaker 2: You know he ain't going to make them all.
[51:12] Speaker 3: He might make one or two. So now you want
[51:15] Speaker 3: him shooting better than a lot of the people back
[51:17] Speaker 3: in our era. But they didn't shoot it. They knew
[51:22] Speaker 3: better to execute. We had plays for dogs. You can't
[51:26] Speaker 3: get better.
[51:28] Speaker 6: We had plays for dogs.
[51:30] Speaker 3: They had roles back then. But if you wasn't a shooter....
[51:36] Speaker 2: And you're at the three-point line, take a dribble in
[51:39] Speaker 2: and shoot that. Don't just chuck a three if you
[51:41] Speaker 2: know you're going to miss that. I'm looking at a
[51:44] Speaker 2: Golden State team, right? Curry taking 10 shots, right? Of course,
[51:49] Speaker 2: 10 threes. Klay taking eight threes. Kevin Durant taking five. Now,
[51:59] Speaker 2: this is the problem with the rest of the league.
[52:02] Speaker 2: Curry's taking 10. We know why. Klay We know why. Now,
[52:08] Speaker 2: do you think your team is going to be successful
[52:11] Speaker 2: if your best player is taking 10 threes and your
[52:15] Speaker 2: second best player is taking eight?
[52:18] Speaker 3: And they not Clay. They not Clay and Curry.
[52:20] Speaker 2: And that's what happened to the league. You're trying to
[52:22] Speaker 2: mimic the best three shooters in NBA history.
[52:27] Speaker 3: And you're taking 25 threes. Brooke Lopez is a perfect example.
[52:32] Speaker 3: Brooke Lopez. Draymond Green took four threes a game.
[52:36] Speaker 2: It expanded his game and he became an NBA champion.
[52:40] Speaker 3: That's what it did. No, it did fuck up the game.
[52:42] Speaker 3: He became an NBA champion. He's a Hall of Famer.
[52:44] Speaker 3: He got older. He got older.
[52:47] Speaker 6: Because they was throwing the ball to.
[52:49] Speaker 3: Him in the post.
[52:51] Speaker 6: He developed a three. Now we can literally not worry
[52:55] Speaker 6: about Brook Lopez.
[52:56] Speaker 3: No, you have to. No, we don't.
[52:58] Speaker 6: He's going to shoot threes and he's not going to
[53:00] Speaker 6: be able to get offensive rebound.
[53:02] Speaker 3: Taking him away from the basket. He's not a shot blocker.
[53:06] Speaker 3: He's just a shooter.
[53:09] Speaker 6: He's just a shooter. He's not even in the scouting report.
[53:12] Speaker 6: He shoots three. It's not an expansion if you're giving
[53:16] Speaker 6: up the other shit that made you the real player.
[53:18] Speaker 3: He didn't start shooting three until he was 28. 28.
[53:20] Speaker 6: So the rest of his game was that.
[53:24] Speaker 3: So what was his game before? What was his numbers before?
[53:27] Speaker 3: His numbers was 19 in the game. He was actually rebounding.
[53:32] Speaker 3: What you mean?
[53:33] Speaker 5: He didn't start shooting threes in the 2016-2017 season.
[53:36] Speaker 3: He went from.
[53:37] Speaker 5: 2 in 2015-16 attempts per game to 5.2.
[53:40] Speaker 6: What was his points per game average, though?
[53:43] Speaker 3: He was averaging 20 a game. The game is changing,
[53:46] Speaker 3: but think about.
[53:47] Speaker 1: But he haven't really won a year before, taking. 2
[53:49] Speaker 1: threes per game, average 20.6... Was it Brooklyn still? Brooklyn. 20.6, taking.
[53:55] Speaker 3: 23s per game.
[53:55] Speaker 5: The next season, he took five threes a game, averaged 20.5.
[53:58] Speaker 3: So nothing changed. So it didn't go up. It didn't
[54:01] Speaker 3: go up. Think about it. So it didn't go up.
[54:03] Speaker 3: It helped his game, and they became NBA champions. What
[54:06] Speaker 3: are we talking about? Brooklyn has become the NBA champions.
[54:08] Speaker 3: The Milwaukee Bucks did. What are you talking about? He's
[54:11] Speaker 3: shooting three? It don't matter. It don't matter. He did
[54:14] Speaker 3: his role. He played his role. He played his role.
[54:17] Speaker 3: So if we're talking.
[54:17] Speaker 6: About role players, if we're talking about play your role
[54:20] Speaker 6: and you're a role.
[54:21] Speaker 3: Player, then what did we just say?
[54:22] Speaker 2: Explain your game.
[54:24] Speaker 3: Get better. Stop being one-dimensional. No, no.
[54:26] Speaker 2: The thing is not you get better.
[54:28] Speaker 3: Yeah, of course. You work on your game.
[54:31] Speaker 2: We got better.
[54:31] Speaker 3: No, you do it personally.
[54:33] Speaker 2: But don't do it on company time in a game.
[54:37] Speaker 2: So let's say Ben Simmons, right? You're the coach. How
[54:41] Speaker 2: many threes would you allow Ben Simmons to take?
[54:43] Speaker 3: I'm going to ask you a question.
[54:44] Speaker 2: How many threes would you allow Ben Simmons to take?
[54:47] Speaker 3: Because of that, Ben didn't shoot no threes. How many?
[54:51] Speaker 2: I'm not going to ask. How many threes would you
[54:55] Speaker 2: allow Ben Simmons to take?
[54:57] Speaker 3: How many shots would you allow Ben Simmons to take?
[54:59] Speaker 3: He doesn't shoot threes. He doesn't shoot. He doesn't shoot. Now,
[55:02] Speaker 3: what if he took 10-3 a game?
[55:04] Speaker 8: Does that help the team or does that hurt the team?
[55:08] Speaker 8: It hurts if he's not working on it. If he's
[55:11] Speaker 8: working on it? Even if he's working on it. If
[55:13] Speaker 8: he's working on it, go ahead.
[55:15] Speaker 3: No, no, no. If he's still missing that shit out
[55:17] Speaker 3: there in the game. If he's still missing it. We've
[55:20] Speaker 3: seen him working on his threes. And he still doesn't shoot.
[55:23] Speaker 3: He don't shoot in the game. He didn't shoot a
[55:25] Speaker 3: three for 22-something games. Why didn't he shoot? He got
[55:27] Speaker 3: traded because he don't shoot. Why didn't he shoot it?
[55:30] Speaker 3: Why he get traded? Why didn't he shoot? Because he
[55:32] Speaker 3: don't work on it. Because he don't work on it.
[55:34] Speaker 3: He don't work on it.
[55:35] Speaker 2: Have anybody watched Ben Simmons in the summer?
[55:38] Speaker 3: Yes. Can he shoot the ball? Yes. Very well. Yes,
[55:43] Speaker 3: he shoots. Very well. He shot that much. He shot
[55:47] Speaker 3: very well. Thank you. Got into the game. Mm-hmm. And
[55:51] Speaker 3: then shoot.
[55:52] Speaker 6: This is not my game out here in the game.
[55:54] Speaker 3: So he's missing his shots.
[55:55] Speaker 2: Now, how dumb do you have to be if you've
[56:00] Speaker 2: already went 0-5 from the three?
[56:02] Speaker 3: To take ten more three.
[56:03] Speaker 2: Man.
[56:04] Speaker 3: Shooter. Right? Do you sound like a winner? I'm talking who?
[56:07] Speaker 3: I'm talking who?
[56:09] Speaker 6: If you're not a three-point shooter, then you're 0 for 5.
[56:13] Speaker 3: That's not what we're saying. Bro, what do you mean?
[56:15] Speaker 3: You don't get better in the middle of the fucking game.
[56:16] Speaker 3: The nigga from Houston just went all March. And then
[56:19] Speaker 3: he started hitting. Now he's making it stop. Who? Tari.
[56:23] Speaker 3: You're talking who? Tari. He went 0 for 21?
[56:28] Speaker 6: And then what?
[56:30] Speaker 3: Not because he's making threes, bro. What are you talking about?
[56:34] Speaker 2: But you guys are mixing up what the conversation is.
[56:39] Speaker 2: The conversation is this. If your bad shooter is a
[56:44] Speaker 2: bad shooter, how many shots are you going to just
[56:48] Speaker 2: keep allowing him to take? When it's open. I have
[56:53] Speaker 2: you here. You are my shooter. And the ball comes
[56:57] Speaker 2: to me. I don't make threes.
[56:59] Speaker 3: Right?
[57:00] Speaker 2: That's not my thing. But because we're supposed to take
[57:03] Speaker 2: 30 more, I'm not.
[57:05] Speaker 3: Swinging to you. I'm just going to shoot it.
[57:07] Speaker 1: They do do it.
[57:08] Speaker 3: I don't see Gobert shooting threes like that. I don't
[57:11] Speaker 3: see Gobert shooting 10 threes a game.
[57:13] Speaker 6: And what's the problem with Draymond shooting threes? Y'all naming people.
[57:17] Speaker 3: I don't see Draymond shooting 10 threes a game.
[57:19] Speaker 2: I'm looking at you. He's taking five a game. That
[57:23] Speaker 2: year they won a championship, too.
[57:25] Speaker 3: Four of them doing it. So how am I going
[57:26] Speaker 3: to go?
[57:27] Speaker 2: So he's shooting, let's say he's shooting 15%. Do you
[57:29] Speaker 2: still want him taking five threes? And you got Steph, Clayton,
[57:32] Speaker 2: Katie on the court. Whatever he did, they won. See,
[57:34] Speaker 2: because I can tell you. But I can tell you.
[57:36] Speaker 3: No. I can tell you. What?
[57:37] Speaker 2: There are certain players, like Sean Lemison, knew he didn't
[57:40] Speaker 2: shoot threes.
[57:41] Speaker 3: He didn't do it.
[57:42] Speaker 2: He's going to find his three-point shooter. Iguodala, I'm going
[57:46] Speaker 2: to find my... I'm going to take one three. If
[57:49] Speaker 2: I make it, I'm going to take it. If I
[57:52] Speaker 2: don't make that, I'm not going to keep jeopardizing shots when.
[57:56] Speaker 3: I have a team here. So that's really all it is.
[57:58] Speaker 2: But they get so many possessions. But I'm just saying, like,
[58:03] Speaker 2: how many is not about Harkins?
[58:05] Speaker 3: What if he just... What if he did... No, they
[58:09] Speaker 3: don't shoot. The bad shooters don't shoot like they... Harkestine
[58:12] Speaker 3: don't shoot. Because he's smart enough not to shoot.
[58:14] Speaker 2: Goldberg don't shoot because he's smart enough not to shoot.
[58:19] Speaker 6: Yeah, but we're talking about the majority of the league, bro.
[58:21] Speaker 6: Not just two guys that you just going.
[58:23] Speaker 3: To point out. You pointed out two guys back in
[58:25] Speaker 3: the day. That's obvious. No, I'm trying to say if
[58:28] Speaker 3: JaVale shot three. People that don't shoot like that don't
[58:31] Speaker 3: shoot three.
[58:31] Speaker 6: He's saying you have to shoot more threes because you're
[58:34] Speaker 6: shooting more threes. Back then, you would have to. JaVale
[58:37] Speaker 6: would have to shoot more.
[58:38] Speaker 3: Because he's part of the offense. Doing the math.
[58:42] Speaker 6: Whatever the nigga's name, he don't shoot threes.
[58:43] Speaker 3: Because Chad is. What are you talking about? And he's
[58:46] Speaker 3: a shooter. Bro.
[58:47] Speaker 2: Is Kaminga a shooter?
[58:50] Speaker 3: From the three-point line. Can he shoot? Yeah. Do you
[58:53] Speaker 3: mind him taking seven threes? Yeah, I don't mind him.
[58:58] Speaker 3: You don't mind him taking seven threes? Right? Does he
[59:01] Speaker 3: shoot that good to take seven threes? Go ahead. Second
[59:05] Speaker 3: most on the team.
[59:06] Speaker 1: Mm.
[59:07] Speaker 3: The women shoot that good. They shoot crazy. 15. Chris Dunn.
[59:10] Speaker 3: Do Wimby shoot that good?
[59:12] Speaker 6: Do Wimby shoot that good to take threes?
[59:15] Speaker 3: He shoot 37%. So what is he shooting from the three?
[59:18] Speaker 3: I don't know. I'm just looking at a box score.
[59:21] Speaker 2: And I'm looking at, you got to remember, if we
[59:22] Speaker 2: have to take 40 more threes, It's not like the
[59:25] Speaker 2: 43s are going to go to my best player. That
[59:27] Speaker 2: means players who don't shoot threes are going to keep...
[59:30] Speaker 2: They have to.
[59:31] Speaker 3: It's part of offense.
[59:32] Speaker 2: So if Luka goes and he throws it to Vanderbilt
[59:34] Speaker 2: and Vanderbilt is open, he is told, shoot that three.
[59:38] Speaker 2: That's why he shoots the three. He's told to shoot
[59:41] Speaker 2: the three now. Now you... Even though this is a
[59:44] Speaker 2: great pass, that is a great shot, but it's not
[59:47] Speaker 2: coming from the guy that.
[59:49] Speaker 3: Shooting 39% this season.
[59:52] Speaker 6: Name me a guy on the Wizards that you know.
[59:56] Speaker 3: But if it was the Wizards back in they day,
[59:59] Speaker 3: I don't know the Wizards. I don't watch the Wizards.
[1:00:00] Speaker 3: I'm going to say if I was on the team,
[1:00:02] Speaker 3: I would shoot the six or seven threes. This Wizards team.
[1:00:07] Speaker 3: So we have to bump it up. Me, fucking, what's
[1:00:10] Speaker 3: his name? Antonio Daniels. No, we didn't have him. Deshaun
[1:00:15] Speaker 3: Stevenson would shoot more threes. All he shot was threes.
[1:00:18] Speaker 3: Karan Butler would have to shoot more threes. Antoine Jamerson
[1:00:23] Speaker 3: will have to shoot more threes. He had 50 on
[1:00:26] Speaker 3: just three.
[1:00:26] Speaker 6: With the offense y'all had, it would be like, yeah,
[1:00:28] Speaker 6: y'all would be good, right?
[1:00:29] Speaker 3: Yes. We're not in the game all the time. Okay.
[1:00:32] Speaker 3: That means I will get more shots.
[1:00:34] Speaker 6: Dominic McGuire, Dominic going to shoot more threes.
[1:00:36] Speaker 3: Dominic going to shoot more threes. Dominic going to shoot.
[1:00:39] Speaker 3: Everybody shoot. Michael Ruffin going to shoot a couple of three?
[1:00:42] Speaker 6: Mike Ruffin going to shoot a couple of three?
[1:00:45] Speaker 3: More shots.
[1:00:46] Speaker 2: You still get your 30, but I still get my
[1:00:49] Speaker 2: shots too.
[1:00:49] Speaker 3: You get your 30 and I still get my shots.
[1:00:52] Speaker 3: Instead of you getting your 30 and I got to get.
[1:00:54] Speaker 6: Five or two points and sit there.
[1:00:57] Speaker 3: You get 30, I still get 15.
[1:00:59] Speaker 2: But you're not thinking about the problem. You're thinking because
[1:01:04] Speaker 2: you're a shooter. So that means how many people on
[1:01:08] Speaker 2: the team shot better than you? Not that many, right?
[1:01:12] Speaker 3: Not nobody. Just me and you. Right? So now imagine.
[1:01:16] Speaker 3: You wasn't on TV.
[1:01:17] Speaker 2: No, what I'm saying is imagine everybody else is getting
[1:01:19] Speaker 2: those threes.
[1:01:21] Speaker 3: Besides you. So what is the what is the likelihood?
[1:01:24] Speaker 2: Like we know you're gonna make it but everybody else
[1:01:27] Speaker 2: gets to throw it up there, too Well, I'm still
[1:01:29] Speaker 2: gonna get my shot. Oh, you're gonna get your shots
[1:01:31] Speaker 2: because there's more value. Yeah, you're not gonna get.
[1:01:34] Speaker 3: I'm like all the shots Take everything away from them
[1:01:37] Speaker 3: cuz oh we gotta run everything through me. No, we
[1:01:40] Speaker 3: push ahead get your shit off Yes, that's a part
[1:01:44] Speaker 3: of basketball Soccer. Soccer. Shoot the ball before Nicky down there. Soccer.
[1:01:49] Speaker 3: What you mean he name it? I don't know. You
[1:01:52] Speaker 3: just name Harkinstein. He don't shoot threes. You just name Harkinstein.
[1:01:55] Speaker 3: He don't shoot threes. No, but what I'm saying is
[1:01:58] Speaker 3: the idea is this. Shay don't kick it to Harkinstein
[1:02:00] Speaker 3: for the three? No, but what I'm saying is the
[1:02:02] Speaker 3: idea is this. It's this.
[1:02:04] Speaker 2: It's we have our three-point shooters. Then we have average
[1:02:10] Speaker 2: and then we have below. Below an average is getting
[1:02:14] Speaker 2: more opportunity to shoot the three, right? So if you're
[1:02:17] Speaker 2: not sitting in the gym, and this is why there's
[1:02:19] Speaker 2: no practice now This is why this era is more
[1:02:22] Speaker 2: skilled development. Okay, so they're saying you know what instead
[1:02:25] Speaker 2: of five on five Luca you doing what you're doing
[1:02:27] Speaker 2: Austin Reeves You're doing what you do.
[1:02:28] Speaker 3: We don't need that.
[1:02:29] Speaker 2: There's no point of practicing What we're gonna do is
[1:02:31] Speaker 2: we're gonna say hey Vando you're gonna take 500 threes
[1:02:35] Speaker 2: in your corner three corner three This is where you're
[1:02:37] Speaker 2: gonna get us by so now all those guys are
[1:02:40] Speaker 2: sitting in the gym and Shooting threes. That's why I
[1:02:42] Speaker 2: say when you shoot 40% and I'm sitting.
[1:02:45] Speaker 3: Here like, yeah, that's crazy. All 40% is open. So
[1:02:48] Speaker 3: why are you only shooting 40%? Yeah.
[1:02:50] Speaker 2: Seth Curry shooting 40% and he's on the move running
[1:02:54] Speaker 2: through triple teams. Like you're by yourself shooting threes.
[1:02:58] Speaker 3: Yeah. Your percentage is supposed to be higher.
[1:03:00] Speaker 2: That's why I like when Pat Bev bragged about I
[1:03:02] Speaker 2: shoot better than Dwyane Wade.
[1:03:05] Speaker 3: That's not a flex. you're by yourself, right? If someone's
[1:03:08] Speaker 3: doing an offense, you're in the corner. You should be
[1:03:12] Speaker 3: at 60-70%. You're shooting a free throw. You're shooting a
[1:03:17] Speaker 3: free throw.
[1:03:18] Speaker 1: That shit was still funny.
[1:03:20] Speaker 3: I laughed at that shit. Let's keep this thing moving.
[1:03:25] Speaker 1: Let's keep this thing moving.
[1:03:26] Speaker 5: Bucket getting truly in our form have been plenty of
[1:03:29] Speaker 5: elite bucket getters throughout NBA history, so Bleach Report recently
[1:03:32] Speaker 5: dropped a list of who they consider to be the
[1:03:34] Speaker 5: 15 greatest Pure scores of all times.
[1:03:38] Speaker 1: So let's take a look at the list.
[1:03:39] Speaker 5: They used a weighted three-tier criteria to formulate the list,
[1:03:43] Speaker 5: taking into account points per 75 possessions with a minimum
[1:03:46] Speaker 5: of 10,000 minutes played, relative true shooting percentage, the player's
[1:03:50] Speaker 5: true shooting percentage minus the league average at the time,
[1:03:53] Speaker 5: and free throw attempt rate which they ranked.
[1:03:55] Speaker 1: Lowest to highest.
[1:03:56] Speaker 5: So Steph Curry took the top spot on the list,
[1:03:59] Speaker 5: followed by KD.
[1:04:00] Speaker 2: No, because we got to hear how they ranked it.
[1:04:04] Speaker 3: No, it don't matter.
[1:04:05] Speaker 2: I know it don't matter, but we still got to
[1:04:07] Speaker 2: see the formula of it.
[1:04:08] Speaker 5: So it was a three-tier criteria to formulate the list.
[1:04:14] Speaker 5: Points per 75 possessions with a minimum of 10,000 minutes played.
[1:04:17] Speaker 3: That's the key.
[1:04:17] Speaker 5: Relative true shooting percentage, the player's true shooting percentage minus
[1:04:21] Speaker 5: the league average at the time and free throw attempt
[1:04:23] Speaker 5: rate which they ranked lowest to highest. So they dinged
[1:04:26] Speaker 5: you if you took a lot of free throws.
[1:04:28] Speaker 1: They dinged you... In terms of if you're being a
[1:04:30] Speaker 1: pure scorer.
[1:04:31] Speaker 3: So James... Wait, wait. James not even on here. This
[1:04:34] Speaker 3: is some kid shit. I was wondering why James' hard
[1:04:36] Speaker 3: name went on here. So I'm going to say, so
[1:04:37] Speaker 3: you're a pure scorer. If you are a.
[1:04:43] Speaker 2: If you are an assassin at scoring that ball, you're
[1:04:48] Speaker 2: getting fouled.
[1:04:49] Speaker 3: Yes. For sure.
[1:04:51] Speaker 1: Right? Um.
[1:04:54] Speaker 3: That's the kid that did this.
[1:04:55] Speaker 2: No, okay, so this is the problem with this list.
[1:04:59] Speaker 2: No offense, all these guys up here, obviously they put
[1:05:03] Speaker 2: the ball in the basket.
[1:05:04] Speaker 1: Feels like some recency. No, we're talking about.
[1:05:07] Speaker 2: Pure scoring from scores, right?
[1:05:11] Speaker 3: People who score.
[1:05:13] Speaker 2: It's the ability to create your own shot, the ability
[1:05:16] Speaker 2: to get to wherever space you are, right? It's the
[1:05:19] Speaker 2: craftsmanship of putting the ball in the basket. Now, I
[1:05:24] Speaker 2: don't know where, right? This means all levels of scoring, right? Three, MIDI, ISO, post-up, flares,
[1:05:32] Speaker 2: down screens. That means if we cut something off, cool,
[1:05:38] Speaker 2: I can do something else. If I'm going to take
[1:05:40] Speaker 2: away your three, I got the middie. If I take
[1:05:42] Speaker 2: away the middie, I got the free throw. I can
[1:05:43] Speaker 2: post up to the back. You are an all-around flat scorer,
[1:05:48] Speaker 2: and a lot of these guys just don't fit that idea.
[1:05:50] Speaker 1: Is it pure, though, Gil?
[1:05:51] Speaker 3: It is pure. Is it ethical?
[1:05:54] Speaker 1: Yes.
[1:05:55] Speaker 3: That's crazy, bro.
[1:05:56] Speaker 5: Here's a list of Steph, Steph, Topspot, KD, MJ, 3rd, MB, LeBron, SGA.
[1:06:01] Speaker 5: The Iceman, George Gervin. The one and only Iceman. Like,
[1:06:05] Speaker 5: I'm not getting into it.
[1:06:06] Speaker 3: Like, Joel Embiid on number four is a cringe. Like,
[1:06:09] Speaker 3: the list, I don't get.
[1:06:10] Speaker 2: The order of the list that I'm not even going
[1:06:12] Speaker 2: to get into.
[1:06:13] Speaker 3: The order of the list, right? That's why we shouldn't argue. Because, obviously,
[1:06:16] Speaker 3: Kobe's going to be one. Kobe, KD, Michael.
[1:06:20] Speaker 2: Jordan, when it comes to pure scoring, they're top three.
[1:06:25] Speaker 2: How you put it in order, that's up to you.
[1:06:26] Speaker 2: But those are the top three most purest scores. Curry
[1:06:30] Speaker 2: will be in that category.
[1:06:32] Speaker 3: Kyrie for sure. Yeah, Kyrie. Giannis wouldn't be in there.
[1:06:37] Speaker 3: Shaquille O'Neal wouldn't be in there. James Harden is in there. No,
[1:06:41] Speaker 3: James Harden. LeBron wouldn't be in there. I'd put Ant-Man
[1:06:43] Speaker 3: in there. LeBron not a pool?
[1:06:44] Speaker 6: I'd put Ant-Man in there.
[1:06:46] Speaker 3: Ant-Man in there? Yeah, no, he has to. He could dunk. No, T-Mac. Mello.
[1:06:51] Speaker 3: Mello's on this list. I'd put A.I.
[1:06:55] Speaker 2: In there. People argue for A.I., but you're talking about
[1:06:57] Speaker 2: Larry Bird is on this list. Pistol Pete is on
[1:07:00] Speaker 2: this list. Do you consider Jokic a pure scorer?
[1:07:06] Speaker 3: I mean, I'm not even going to lie. He's a
[1:07:08] Speaker 3: good joker out there. Not even efficiency. He's a three-level scorer.
[1:07:12] Speaker 3: He's posting up. He's high-sowing.
[1:07:14] Speaker 2: He's hitting the middies. He's hitting the three. You will
[1:07:17] Speaker 2: put him in this category.
[1:07:19] Speaker 3: I don't know. He'd be the only big. I don't know.
[1:07:22] Speaker 3: You can know Hakeem. Hakeem, yeah, for real.
[1:07:26] Speaker 2: Right, he didn't extend to the three-point line, but that's
[1:07:29] Speaker 2: something new.
[1:07:29] Speaker 3: But shit, Dirk. But he dunking him up against two, though.
[1:07:33] Speaker 3: Dirk Nowinski. Yeah, but wouldn't Jokic be the number one big, though? No.
[1:07:36] Speaker 3: As a person.
[1:07:37] Speaker 7: No.
[1:07:38] Speaker 1: Not over Hakeem.
[1:07:40] Speaker 3: Not over Hakeem. Jokic? Sorry, would you put Embiid over Jokic?
[1:07:44] Speaker 3: Jokic is a three-level scorer. Jokic can't jump. Jumping ability
[1:07:48] Speaker 3: is in there, too. You got to be able to
[1:07:49] Speaker 3: take off on the motherfucker. No, you just got to
[1:07:50] Speaker 3: be able to put the ball in the basket. Yeah.
[1:07:52] Speaker 3: But there's a lot of guys. Like, if you would
[1:07:54] Speaker 3: take this away, I'm jumping over. Yeah, that's pure score. Right, yeah,
[1:07:59] Speaker 3: you can jump. Yeah, that's jumping.
[1:08:00] Speaker 1: So we hear the term.
[1:08:00] Speaker 2: Like Vince?
[1:08:01] Speaker 3: Yeah.
[1:08:02] Speaker 2: Vince has a pure score. We hear the term free
[1:08:04] Speaker 2: throw merchant. Yeah, that's like when you think of a five. Like,
[1:08:07] Speaker 2: I'm just thinking about the idea of the ball and bat.
[1:08:10] Speaker 2: I don't care if you average 38 or not.
[1:08:12] Speaker 3: I get it. The ability to put the ball in
[1:08:14] Speaker 3: the basket. Go get me a bucket. Go get me
[1:08:16] Speaker 3: a bucket. Go get me a bucket. However you need
[1:08:18] Speaker 3: to get it. Obviously, you guys are all former hoopers.
[1:08:21] Speaker 5: You feel like dinging free throws. To me, the ability
[1:08:23] Speaker 5: to draw fouls is a part of pure scoring.
[1:08:26] Speaker 2: Yeah, so Shea, all of them are pure scorers. Like,
[1:08:28] Speaker 2: LeBron is a pure scorer. He can score because he's stronger, bigger,
[1:08:33] Speaker 2: but when you take out physical attributes and the idea
[1:08:37] Speaker 2: of putting the ball in the basket, that's why Kyrie
[1:08:40] Speaker 2: will rank high.
[1:08:41] Speaker 6: Without trying to get a foul, I think pure scoring
[1:08:45] Speaker 6: is taking that aspect out of it. I don't even
[1:08:48] Speaker 6: need the foul. I go get a bucket without the
[1:08:51] Speaker 6: referee's help. I can go get it. KD is one
[1:08:55] Speaker 6: of them niggas that can go get a bucket. I
[1:08:56] Speaker 6: don't need your help. I don't need your screen. Kyrie,
[1:09:00] Speaker 6: I don't need a screen. AI, I don't need a screen. Vince,
[1:09:03] Speaker 6: I don't need a screen. Kobe, I don't need a screen. Mike,
[1:09:05] Speaker 6: I don't need a screen. Joel Embiid, hey, listen, watch out.
[1:09:09] Speaker 6: I got him on this ice. Camelo, there's so many
[1:09:12] Speaker 6: guys that can actually do that. Like Karl Malone, I
[1:09:15] Speaker 6: wouldn't put Karl.
[1:09:16] Speaker 3: Malone in there.
[1:09:17] Speaker 1: What about somebody like Kawhi?
[1:09:18] Speaker 2: You know what's so funny? Because when we talk about pure,
[1:09:25] Speaker 2: the problem is when we think pure and we think
[1:09:31] Speaker 2: like scoring, the same person comes up and if it
[1:09:34] Speaker 2: don't look like that, if it don't look like how
[1:09:39] Speaker 2: Michael Jordan made scoring look, easy, finesse, and pretty. Someone
[1:09:43] Speaker 2: like Kawhi, that choppy, you know, it just looks like,
[1:09:48] Speaker 2: but when you think about Pierce scoring, it's like, yeah.
[1:09:50] Speaker 3: George Gervin.
[1:09:51] Speaker 6: George Gervin was a pure scorer.
[1:09:55] Speaker 3: I didn't look at it. Joe Johnson. Joe Johnson. Paul George.
[1:10:00] Speaker 3: Paul Pierce.
[1:10:01] Speaker 1: Paul Pierce and Paul George. Paul George. Brandon Roy. Brandon Roy.
[1:10:10] Speaker 3: Oh, he was like Kawhi. He'd go get the bucket.
[1:10:12] Speaker 2: No, no.
[1:10:12] Speaker 3: He could go get your bucket.
[1:10:13] Speaker 2: No, Brandon Roy put that ball in the basket, but
[1:10:16] Speaker 2: back then we didn't shoot threes, so having, like, seeing
[1:10:19] Speaker 2: what the rest of his game looked like. Like, somebody
[1:10:21] Speaker 2: like Rip Hamilton was a pure scorer. He was a
[1:10:24] Speaker 2: great three-point shooter, but he didn't shoot a three.
[1:10:26] Speaker 3: He didn't handle the rock.
[1:10:27] Speaker 6: He wasn't going to take you off the dribble and
[1:10:29] Speaker 6: go get the bucket.
[1:10:30] Speaker 3: B-Roy. Young reality. B-Roy, for sure. Young reality. But putting a.
[1:10:34] Speaker 2: Top 15 list together is going to be what type
[1:10:38] Speaker 2: of scoring you like, but for sure.
[1:10:40] Speaker 3: Giannis should be in there. That's right.
[1:10:44] Speaker 2: Carmelo shouldn't be in there.
[1:10:45] Speaker 3: Shaq shouldn't be in there. Shaq shouldn't be in there.
[1:10:47] Speaker 3: At will?
[1:10:48] Speaker 6: If you sag on Giannis, if you sag on Giannis, you.
[1:10:51] Speaker 1: Got to shoot that shit.
[1:10:52] Speaker 2: You got to put Westbrook in there.
[1:10:55] Speaker 3: Hey, Lillard. You got to put Westbrook if you put Giannis.
[1:10:59] Speaker 2: If you're going to put Giannis, then Westbrook will be better.
[1:11:02] Speaker 2: But you're going by some formula that they created that
[1:11:05] Speaker 2: has nothing to do.
[1:11:06] Speaker 3: It was a.
[1:11:06] Speaker 1: Three-tier criteria, like I said. 75 possessions. relative true shooting percentage.
[1:11:12] Speaker 3: Like D-Wade. I thought D-Wade was a pure scorer.
[1:11:15] Speaker 6: He can go out there and get you a fucking bucket.
[1:11:18] Speaker 1: So y'all don't agree with Steph being top on this list?
[1:11:24] Speaker 2: I'm not going to get into the list because their list...
[1:11:26] Speaker 2: Their list has to do with the criteria they used.
[1:11:33] Speaker 2: But for pure scoring... From your guys' vantage point. Michael Jordan, Kobe,
[1:11:38] Speaker 2: and KD. Those are going to be the top three
[1:11:41] Speaker 2: in every Hooper, and however you put it, that's on
[1:11:43] Speaker 2: how you like your scoring to be. But those are
[1:11:46] Speaker 2: the top three pure scorers.
[1:11:48] Speaker 3: And then you're going to have Team Mellow.
[1:11:51] Speaker 2: Team Mellow, you're going to have people that's going to
[1:11:55] Speaker 2: go for Mellow.
[1:11:56] Speaker 3: You're going to have... Who else in there? The Kyrie fan.
[1:12:02] Speaker 2: With the ability of scoring that ball and putting it in.
[1:12:05] Speaker 3: Kyrie.
[1:12:06] Speaker 6: You got to have AI before all of them because
[1:12:09] Speaker 6: he's averaging 27 a game.
[1:12:12] Speaker 3: In the era that he was in, six foot.
[1:12:14] Speaker 2: But the difference is, when it comes to Kyrie, and
[1:12:17] Speaker 2: we say we're going to break down all of the basketball,
[1:12:21] Speaker 2: Kyrie ability. He will post you up. He's going to
[1:12:26] Speaker 2: ice you. He's going to have left-hand floaters right there.
[1:12:30] Speaker 2: He has really the overall bag of all hoop-hoop. Because
[1:12:35] Speaker 2: no matter where you put him on the floor, post-up, mid-right,
[1:12:38] Speaker 2: he knew how to do all of it.
[1:12:40] Speaker 3: So he's technically the most complete.
[1:12:43] Speaker 6: He is, but his volume.
[1:12:46] Speaker 3: Of scoring, it never hit that.
[1:12:49] Speaker 2: But he never was that selfish to take 25 to
[1:12:52] Speaker 2: 30 shots.
[1:12:53] Speaker 3: Right. He has the capability and the skill set.
[1:12:56] Speaker 6: He's the most skilled small guard that can go do it.
[1:12:59] Speaker 6: But I say AI because AI didn't have to use
[1:13:02] Speaker 6: all of that to go get his bucket.
[1:13:04] Speaker 3: He just go get his bucket. I'm going to go
[1:13:07] Speaker 3: get the bucket. I think it'd be three or two.
[1:13:09] Speaker 3: Would you please? So it'll go Kyrie, Steph, A.I., or Kyrie, A.I., Steph?
[1:13:16] Speaker 3: You said what? I'm saying A.I. because A.I.
[1:13:19] Speaker 6: Utilized his mid-range more, and he wasn't shooting as many threes.
[1:13:24] Speaker 6: And Steph can shoot for three. Kyrie do what A.I. do,
[1:13:26] Speaker 6: and he do what Steph do.
[1:13:28] Speaker 3: I'm going Kyrie, Steph. That's what I'm saying. Kyrie is
[1:13:31] Speaker 3: both of them in one, I think. Who, Steph and A.I.?
[1:13:35] Speaker 3: Because he can shoot the three crazy. I'm going Kyrie one.
[1:13:39] Speaker 3: I handle AI. No, for sure. Yeah, I'm going Kyrie one.
[1:13:43] Speaker 3: I'm going Kyrie.
[1:13:44] Speaker 2: Like, if somebody wanted to debate Kyrie as top three,
[1:13:48] Speaker 2: you can't.
[1:13:49] Speaker 3: Yeah, for sure.
[1:13:49] Speaker 2: The only thing that knocks Kyrie, the only thing that
[1:13:52] Speaker 2: knocks Kyrie is because he didn't average 30 and try
[1:13:54] Speaker 2: to average 30. But when you say.
[1:13:57] Speaker 3: What can't he do? He can do everything.
[1:14:00] Speaker 2: You're not going to be able to knock him. Jordan,
[1:14:03] Speaker 2: you can say, oh, he didn't shoot threes, but the
[1:14:05] Speaker 2: three-point line was a lot longer, and that wasn't their
[1:14:08] Speaker 2: game then.
[1:14:08] Speaker 3: So you can knock him there.
[1:14:09] Speaker 2: But when you say post up, fade away this, you
[1:14:12] Speaker 2: can't knock Kyrie on that. Dribbling, you can't knock Kyrie
[1:14:14] Speaker 2: on that. Creating his own, you can't knock Kyrie on
[1:14:15] Speaker 2: the three. You can't mid-eat. Layup package, you can't knock
[1:14:19] Speaker 2: him for none of it because he had it all. Like,
[1:14:22] Speaker 2: it's like he perfected. He just didn't say, I want
[1:14:25] Speaker 2: to go out there and score 30. I remember when
[1:14:27] Speaker 2: he got traded to Boston.
[1:14:29] Speaker 3: I said, oh, this is it. He's about to lead
[1:14:31] Speaker 3: the league in scoring. He wanted to win. But he
[1:14:34] Speaker 3: got hurt. You know what I mean? He got hurt.
[1:14:36] Speaker 3: So he never really had a chance to. He was
[1:14:38] Speaker 3: LeBron and then Luke.
[1:14:42] Speaker 2: Like, even in my era, I used to like somebody
[1:14:44] Speaker 2: with Kyrie. In my era, I was like, man, if
[1:14:47] Speaker 2: Mashburn took fucking 25 shots, who's stopping him? Right, who's
[1:14:54] Speaker 2: stopping Mashburn?
[1:14:55] Speaker 3: What do you think about this, though?
[1:14:56] Speaker 6: AI, if he's shooting more threes in that era, it
[1:15:01] Speaker 6: would have looked different. But you running the plays, the
[1:15:04] Speaker 6: two out, all the plays they was running for AI, you're.
[1:15:06] Speaker 3: Not going under on the three-pointer with AI.
[1:15:09] Speaker 6: He's thinking, you can't stop me from doing what I'm doing.
[1:15:13] Speaker 6: I'm going to go get 30 a game doing what
[1:15:15] Speaker 6: I'm doing. And your adjustments, I'm going to adjust too.
[1:15:19] Speaker 6: But Steph never had that problem. Like, you got to
[1:15:21] Speaker 6: guard me here first. You ain't got to stop me
[1:15:24] Speaker 6: from getting to the rim. That was AI. Stop me
[1:15:26] Speaker 6: from getting to the rim. I'm going to adjust my game.
[1:15:28] Speaker 6: Steph is, hey, man, you got to pick me up
[1:15:31] Speaker 6: from half. And now you're giving me the layups. Now
[1:15:34] Speaker 6: you're giving me everything I need. Same with Kyrie. Kyrie's
[1:15:37] Speaker 6: shaking your ass, baking your ass, and going to wherever
[1:15:40] Speaker 6: he want. But the volume was never there for Kyrie.
[1:15:43] Speaker 3: Is Derrick Rose in there?
[1:15:44] Speaker 2: No.
[1:15:45] Speaker 3: Pure scores? No, pure. Is Derrick Rose in there?
[1:15:49] Speaker 6: I think he developed his shooting ability later after the injury,
[1:15:52] Speaker 6: but D.
[1:15:53] Speaker 3: Rose, as far as like... He's like John... He reminds
[1:15:56] Speaker 3: me of that John Wall type of bar. He reminds
[1:15:58] Speaker 3: me of Steve Francis.
[1:15:58] Speaker 2: They're such pure scorers. I mean, they're... It's like BJ.
[1:16:02] Speaker 2: They can pass the ball so well, but the fact
[1:16:05] Speaker 2: that their ability... Nigga. Speed jumping is like... And they
[1:16:11] Speaker 2: get into the lane, and I'm like... All right, like
[1:16:14] Speaker 2: so you you're forcing those guys to score because once
[1:16:18] Speaker 2: they get to where they're getting to it's like Oh,
[1:16:20] Speaker 2: no one's here.
[1:16:22] Speaker 3: High school college, right?
[1:16:23] Speaker 2: It's zones So they don't know this ability of just
[1:16:27] Speaker 2: come off and everybody's playing man And I just beat
[1:16:29] Speaker 2: my guy in the big and I see the lane
[1:16:31] Speaker 2: wide open, but I might as well just dump this
[1:16:33] Speaker 2: ball so now you're turning a John Wall and a
[1:16:37] Speaker 2: Derrick Rose type and into more of a score than
[1:16:40] Speaker 2: a passer when they started off as, I can pass.
[1:16:43] Speaker 3: The hell out of this ball. Put LeBron on that, bitch.
[1:16:47] Speaker 3: Same thing.
[1:16:47] Speaker 6: Younger LeBron was a pure.
[1:16:49] Speaker 3: Yeah, he could score that. Now think about it.
[1:16:52] Speaker 2: If zones always made you sit here and do this,
[1:16:55] Speaker 2: and now you get into the league, and you come
[1:16:57] Speaker 2: off the pick and roll, and everything just opens up,
[1:17:01] Speaker 2: LeBron's like, well.
[1:17:02] Speaker 3: All right.
[1:17:03] Speaker 6: Pass for what?
[1:17:04] Speaker 3: Pass for what? I don't know what to say.
[1:17:06] Speaker 1: I don't think LeBron was a... You know who else
[1:17:09] Speaker 1: is a pure scorer?
[1:17:09] Speaker 3: A pure scorer? When you think of that Cavs versus.
[1:17:12] Speaker 2: Boston and all that.
[1:17:13] Speaker 3: Because, no. Right? What? You got to remember, ISOs, post-ups,
[1:17:17] Speaker 3: all of that matters. Yes. Fadeaways and all this. He
[1:17:20] Speaker 3: took over a game.
[1:17:21] Speaker 2: Yeah, no, you don't take over a game, but we're
[1:17:23] Speaker 2: talking about the ability.
[1:17:24] Speaker 3: Like, you're a pure scorer.
[1:17:25] Speaker 2: Like, you didn't score more than me. Yeah, but you
[1:17:28] Speaker 2: were a better score than me.
[1:17:30] Speaker 3: Yeah, I get you. Like Michael Beasley. You know what
[1:17:32] Speaker 3: I mean? You're a better score than me. Your ability
[1:17:34] Speaker 3: to create.
[1:17:34] Speaker 2: Things I just can't even think of.
[1:17:36] Speaker 6: You could go to certain spots on the floor and
[1:17:39] Speaker 6: it wouldn't be a problem. Turn around and look the
[1:17:43] Speaker 6: other way.
[1:17:43] Speaker 3: If you watch the game long enough, you can see like, oh,
[1:17:45] Speaker 3: that motherfucker scored right there. You know what I mean?
[1:17:48] Speaker 2: You sit there and be like, yo, dude got buckets
[1:17:51] Speaker 2: in his body. you might not have the selfishness in
[1:17:55] Speaker 2: your body, but the ability to just create shots, you'd
[1:17:59] Speaker 2: be like, yo, bro, dangerous.
[1:18:01] Speaker 3: That's a different thing, yeah.
[1:18:02] Speaker 5: So we got some breaking news that we need to
[1:18:04] Speaker 5: get to right now coming out of the Sixers camp.
[1:18:08] Speaker 5: Joel Embiid diagnosed with an appendicitis. Will undergo surgery this
[1:18:13] Speaker 5: afternoon in Houston.
[1:18:14] Speaker 1: What?
[1:18:15] Speaker 3: Appendicitis.
[1:18:16] Speaker 1: Appendix. I think that's to get his appendix removed.
[1:18:18] Speaker 5: Is that from the oblique thing? He was feeling some
[1:18:21] Speaker 5: illness discomfort this morning. They wanted him to get evaluated. So,
[1:18:25] Speaker 5: Sixers have three games left. Obviously, a tightly contested Eastern
[1:18:28] Speaker 5: Conference playoff race. Currently in the eighth spot. They have
[1:18:31] Speaker 5: three games remaining. Houston, I think Pacers and Bucks. Not
[1:18:36] Speaker 5: sure how long he'll miss for context, and this is
[1:18:38] Speaker 5: obviously not apples to apples, but O.J. Ananobi had an
[1:18:41] Speaker 5: emergency appendectomy back on April 12, 2019, right before the
[1:18:45] Speaker 5: playoff started. His original timetable was might return after the
[1:18:49] Speaker 5: first round in up missing the entirety of the Raptors
[1:18:51] Speaker 5: 2019 title run. He was also done with a concussion
[1:18:54] Speaker 5: and other things going on. Oh, that's the only one?
[1:18:56] Speaker 1: I can't say.
[1:18:58] Speaker 3: It's the apples to apples.
[1:19:01] Speaker 1: Comparison, but.
[1:19:02] Speaker 3: What caused that?
[1:19:03] Speaker 1: I don't look like Dr. Phil.
[1:19:06] Speaker 3: He hold his pee. He don't go to the bathroom
[1:19:09] Speaker 3: as much, that's what. Nah, we'll call him that. We'll
[1:19:11] Speaker 3: call him that. He hold his pee. Nah, he hold
[1:19:14] Speaker 3: his pee. He hold his pee. Can we see with that?
[1:19:16] Speaker 5: Nah, that's like a little kid. What causes appendix? Just
[1:19:18] Speaker 5: Google what causes an appendix to burst.
[1:19:20] Speaker 1: It is.
[1:19:20] Speaker 3: When it becomes blocked. Or appendicitis. I'm telling you. I
[1:19:24] Speaker 3: hold his pee. He hold his pee. He be scared
[1:19:27] Speaker 3: to say he got to use the bathroom. That's right. Hey,
[1:19:31] Speaker 3: you know what's funny. This is not the time for that. No,
[1:19:34] Speaker 3: that is a thing. My son, I had to take
[1:19:38] Speaker 3: him to the doctor. He said, this hurt, Dad. Which one? Nice.
[1:19:42] Speaker 3: Because he always playing this shit. Like, nigga, go use
[1:19:46] Speaker 3: the bathroom. Stop holding it.
[1:19:49] Speaker 5: This is coming from Google. Don't take my word for it.
[1:19:53] Speaker 5: Primarily caused by an obstruction or blockage in the appendix lining,
[1:19:57] Speaker 5: which leads to infection, swelling, and inflammation. Blockage often caused
[1:20:00] Speaker 5: by hardened stool. I mean, I think, hardened doo-doo. The
[1:20:05] Speaker 5: non-metallic return. Swollen lymph glands, tumors or parasites.
[1:20:11] Speaker 3: He having an immune system. Nah, all them painkillers.
[1:20:14] Speaker 1: These are factors that lead to an iron man.
[1:20:15] Speaker 3: We know what it is. He dehydrated. All them painkillers.
[1:20:18] Speaker 3: He can't Google. All them painkillers. No, no, no. That's true.
[1:20:22] Speaker 3: That's true. All them painkillers.
[1:20:23] Speaker 2: Him trying to keep these playing and taking those pills
[1:20:26] Speaker 2: for that knee is blocking his stomach up.
[1:20:29] Speaker 3: He got to take an enema or something. Nah, man. Hey, listen.
[1:20:32] Speaker 1: Eat some Taco Bell.
[1:20:33] Speaker 3: Get you 450. There's 450 alloy. Go to your nutritionist.
[1:20:39] Speaker 2: It's 450-alloy to give you these pills.
[1:20:43] Speaker 3: It's like it actually helps you relieve. Badass, though, because
[1:20:46] Speaker 3: he's been injured for so long. He's missing days not
[1:20:50] Speaker 3: using the bathroom.
[1:20:51] Speaker 2: Like every time I have, so I remember when I
[1:20:53] Speaker 2: got my knee surgery and they were telling me, all right,
[1:20:55] Speaker 2: take the two pills a day. And I couldn't use
[1:20:58] Speaker 2: the bathroom for nothing. And I didn't know it was
[1:21:00] Speaker 2: the pills. So when I get surgery now, I don't
[1:21:02] Speaker 2: take them. Now I'm good. I'm going to deal with
[1:21:04] Speaker 2: the pain because this pain, you sitting there trying to
[1:21:07] Speaker 2: do this.
[1:21:07] Speaker 3: For real. Ain't nothing like that. What? You don't know
[1:21:10] Speaker 3: how to fix it. You can't go in there. You're
[1:21:13] Speaker 3: all blocked up in there. That shit hurt. Still eating?
[1:21:16] Speaker 3: Still eating. Food not going nowhere.
[1:21:19] Speaker 1: Food is not going anywhere.
[1:21:20] Speaker 3: Kidney shot? Dude is fucking hurt up.
[1:21:23] Speaker 6: Yeah.
[1:21:25] Speaker 3: All trying to play.
[1:21:26] Speaker 2: That's what I'm saying. Messing his body up, just trying
[1:21:28] Speaker 2: to get out there.
[1:21:28] Speaker 3: Just trying to play, bro. Don't kill yourself, man.
[1:21:32] Speaker 5: Well, yeah, so Penn and Sykes will undergo surgery today
[1:21:34] Speaker 5: in Houston. Like I said, six or three games remaining.
[1:21:37] Speaker 5: We've got Rockets, then our Pacers. They're back-to-back. And then
[1:21:39] Speaker 5: I think Bucs. Let me double-check.
[1:21:41] Speaker 2: Man, he's going to have surgery, man. We don't care
[1:21:43] Speaker 2: about who they're playing. They got three games together.
[1:21:46] Speaker 3: Well, I guess they're not going to be playing Detroit.
[1:21:48] Speaker 3: I guess Detroit. Okay, now what is the rest on that?
[1:21:51] Speaker 1: What?
[1:21:52] Speaker 3: What is the timetable? We're trying to figure out a timetable. No, no.
[1:21:55] Speaker 3: What does Google say? What?
[1:21:57] Speaker 1: It has regular humans. They don't have MB.
[1:21:59] Speaker 3: It might. It might. Hold on.
[1:22:04] Speaker 2: Pretty sure other players haven't had it before.
[1:22:09] Speaker 3: I think it is. Half his face was pulled.
[1:22:12] Speaker 5: Prompt surgery usually ensures recovery within one, two, three weeks.
[1:22:16] Speaker 1: So he potentially could be back.
[1:22:18] Speaker 3: He don't need that.
[1:22:18] Speaker 1: What side is it? But if they're now pushing the plan,
[1:22:22] Speaker 1: they'll obviously be playing.
[1:22:22] Speaker 3: It's NB, man. He'll be back. He'll come back. Half
[1:22:26] Speaker 3: his face is falling apart, man. Think about that. You
[1:22:30] Speaker 3: down there dying.
[1:22:31] Speaker 2: He had to glue one of his eyes down. I mean,
[1:22:34] Speaker 2: this man has been playing through some stuff. Stuff I
[1:22:36] Speaker 2: haven't even heard of.
[1:22:38] Speaker 3: I had tape on him.
[1:22:39] Speaker 1: Bells pausing, Bill.
[1:22:40] Speaker 3: Bells pausing. That was the weirdest shit. You know what
[1:22:44] Speaker 3: I'm saying?
[1:22:45] Speaker 2: He said, I couldn't move half my left side.
[1:22:46] Speaker 3: He had to still get buckets.
[1:22:48] Speaker 2: I don't need this whole left side. Listen, you know
[1:22:54] Speaker 2: how talented you got to be, dog, to do what
[1:22:57] Speaker 2: he's done and half his body don't work.
[1:23:00] Speaker 3: Man, he out there getting 30 and half the boo-boo.
[1:23:03] Speaker 3: He got a boo-boo getting 30, bro, in the game.
[1:23:06] Speaker 3: His stomach is full. Just farting this shit up.
[1:23:09] Speaker 6: What?
[1:23:10] Speaker 3: Air, all air coming out. Man, he didn't even get
[1:23:12] Speaker 3: the nervous boo-boos.
[1:23:13] Speaker 2: You know, like most of the players, like when a
[1:23:15] Speaker 2: game getting ready to start, you start seeing players just
[1:23:17] Speaker 2: running back.
[1:23:18] Speaker 3: They're nervous.
[1:23:18] Speaker 2: Got to get the nerves out. The nervous boo-boo. The
[1:23:21] Speaker 2: nervous boo-boo. The medical term.
[1:23:23] Speaker 6: You have to count that in to the history of
[1:23:26] Speaker 6: the game. He's playing half. He's half man, half amazing
[1:23:29] Speaker 6: for real. Have you ever played full? Like your body just.
[1:23:33] Speaker 1: Yeah, not a good fit.
[1:23:34] Speaker 2: All that Red Bull, all the Red Bull and stuff
[1:23:36] Speaker 2: I was taking before the game.
[1:23:37] Speaker 1: It was keep out of you. I was evacuating.
[1:23:41] Speaker 3: Yeah, I read that red line. I was drinking that coffee.
[1:23:45] Speaker 3: You drank coffee when you played? Before the game, yeah.
[1:23:47] Speaker 3: You didn't do no 5-Hour Energy? Just make your boo
[1:23:51] Speaker 3: pop a 5-Hour. Did y'all have Catapult? You could drink
[1:23:54] Speaker 3: 5-Hour Energy. Back then? I didn't know if you could
[1:23:56] Speaker 3: drink 5-Hour Energy.
[1:23:57] Speaker 2: There's something called Catapult and Redline.
[1:24:00] Speaker 6: Did it really have 5-Hour Energy and two Advils?
[1:24:04] Speaker 3: Two Advils. Two Advils in the red.
[1:24:07] Speaker 6: I didn't start doing Advils.
[1:24:11] Speaker 3: I didn't start doing Advils. I didn't do Advils until now.
[1:24:17] Speaker 5: So we don't know the cause, but we do know
[1:24:19] Speaker 5: Joel Embiid appendicitis undergoing.
[1:24:20] Speaker 2: No, we know the cause.
[1:24:21] Speaker 3: We know the cause. We know the cause. You are
[1:24:22] Speaker 3: not sure. I guarantee you. Vicodin? What was it?
[1:24:27] Speaker 2: Tylenol, whatever you don't want to feel painful to play
[1:24:32] Speaker 2: in a game. Whatever that medicine was, that's what caused it.
[1:24:34] Speaker 3: For sure. You really can't move after that.
[1:24:38] Speaker 6: Fucking naproxen and all that shit.
[1:24:41] Speaker 2: You take three days of... Once that hits your.
[1:24:43] Speaker 3: Body, stopped. No boo-boo. All right. Yeah, I had to
[1:24:51] Speaker 3: take it. What's the thing? I had to take an
[1:24:52] Speaker 3: enema once, man. A what? An enema.
[1:24:55] Speaker 1: Not a conversation we were particularly interested in having today.
[1:24:58] Speaker 3: No, air waters.
[1:25:00] Speaker 2: Oh, with you? Yeah, taking them pills, man. The first
[1:25:03] Speaker 2: time I got a knee surgeon, I'm just dropping it.
[1:25:05] Speaker 3: I didn't want to feel no pain. You mean you
[1:25:07] Speaker 3: got a colonic?
[1:25:07] Speaker 2: You got a colonic? No, I had to go in there. Man, man,
[1:25:09] Speaker 2: you got to push the medicine up me.
[1:25:11] Speaker 3: Get it up.
[1:25:13] Speaker 1: Out of me.
[1:25:14] Speaker 3: Get it up out of me. My stomach hurts. Sorry
[1:25:16] Speaker 3: about that. You go three days? All right, damn. Three days,
[1:25:20] Speaker 3: I ain't take nothing, man. I'm going to die.
[1:25:25] Speaker 2: I told you back then they was feeding us medicine
[1:25:27] Speaker 2: to get us in the course, okay?
[1:25:29] Speaker 1: No boo-boo for three days.
[1:25:30] Speaker 3: That's crazy. That is tough. And you feel it. Farting
[1:25:33] Speaker 3: just stinking. Just air. Just hot ass air. Whoa, whoa, whoa.
[1:25:40] Speaker 3: Just air, that's from something different. Okay, brother? We don't
[1:25:44] Speaker 3: know nothing about that. All right.
[1:25:46] Speaker 2: It's just that loose where you just air.
[1:25:48] Speaker 1: Cool.
[1:25:49] Speaker 3: Keep that to yourself, bro. Keep that to yourself.
[1:25:52] Speaker 2: Wow.
[1:25:52] Speaker 3: Keep that to yourself. Just whistling, huh? That was that
[1:25:55] Speaker 3: noise just now. That was back there. Whistle while you work.
[1:25:59] Speaker 3: Whistle while you work. I thought you had a button, too.
[1:26:01] Speaker 3: It's easy.
[1:26:02] Speaker 2: I thought you had a whistle.
[1:26:03] Speaker 3: That's crazy.
[1:26:05] Speaker 2: Go ahead and fart it.
[1:26:14] Speaker 3: You haven't been on the toilet. Nicholas! What kind of
[1:26:17] Speaker 3: flavor is that? What? What kind of flavor is that?
[1:26:19] Speaker 6: I'm glad you don't bust me out. Oh, I want
[1:26:21] Speaker 6: to use it. You make it look like it's cool.
[1:26:23] Speaker 6: My family watching.
[1:26:24] Speaker 3: Can you please.
[1:26:27] Speaker 1: Stop, man?
[1:26:27] Speaker 3: This is your own episode. Stop.
[1:26:30] Speaker 1: All right, well, let's keep this thing moving.
[1:26:31] Speaker 5: So we talked about Jokic and Wimby earlier this week
[1:26:35] Speaker 5: before the conversation shifted to a spirited debate on two-way players.
[1:26:40] Speaker 5: Nuggets and Spurs are set to face off in the
[1:26:41] Speaker 5: final game of the regular season this Sunday. Wimby still
[1:26:45] Speaker 5: needs to play one more game to reach the 65-game minimum.
[1:26:47] Speaker 5: Nuggets need one more win or a Lakers and Rockets
[1:26:50] Speaker 5: loss to secure the three-seed. So there's a possibility that
[1:26:53] Speaker 5: both players will play in that final game. Jokic and
[1:26:56] Speaker 5: Wimby have played against each other Seven times in their careers.
[1:26:59] Speaker 5: Let's take a look at the head-to-head. We didn't really
[1:27:01] Speaker 5: get to dive deep on this earlier this week. Joker
[1:27:04] Speaker 5: getting the best of the matchup so far. In the
[1:27:06] Speaker 5: seven games they played, Jokic averaged 37 points on 55% shooting,
[1:27:10] Speaker 5: 11 rebounds, 9 assists, 2.5 stocks, and has a 5-2
[1:27:16] Speaker 5: record against Wimby. Wimby, obviously young, only year three. He's
[1:27:19] Speaker 5: been honed his own against a three-time MVP. Averaged 26 points,
[1:27:22] Speaker 5: 15 rebounds, 4 assists, 4 blocks, and nearly two steals.
[1:27:28] Speaker 5: So it's looking like this is shaping up to be
[1:27:31] Speaker 5: a very, very heated, heated, heated head-to-head battle for many
[1:27:35] Speaker 5: years to come.
[1:27:36] Speaker 1: But I wanted to ask you guys.
[1:27:37] Speaker 5: Do you consider Jokic versus Wimby to be a rivalry yet,
[1:27:41] Speaker 5: or do they need to see each other in the
[1:27:42] Speaker 5: playoffs first?
[1:27:44] Speaker 4: I think they need to see each other in the
[1:27:45] Speaker 4: playoffs first. I don't think this is a rivalry yet.
[1:27:48] Speaker 4: I mean, he's up 5-2. He's averaging almost 40 against them.
[1:27:53] Speaker 4: You know, and it's only been seven games, so You know,
[1:27:57] Speaker 4: we're going to need to have 15 or 20 more
[1:27:59] Speaker 4: games to really see those stats for real. But right
[1:28:02] Speaker 4: now it's not even– it's just, you know, he just–
[1:28:05] Speaker 4: it's a baby. It's a baby to him right now.
[1:28:07] Speaker 4: So there ain't no rivalry.
[1:28:09] Speaker 1: Burping babies. How many rivalries can you have?
[1:28:12] Speaker 3: I thought he was rivalry with OKC too, like Shea.
[1:28:17] Speaker 1: It was a Chet win.
[1:28:18] Speaker 3: Oh, Chet.
[1:28:19] Speaker 1: Yeah, Chet. That goes back to their younger days.
[1:28:24] Speaker 2: Now, when we're talking about rivalry, usually it kind of
[1:28:27] Speaker 2: starts like college, right? Get into the NBA. It's usually
[1:28:31] Speaker 2: your peers that's in your draft class or the top
[1:28:38] Speaker 2: two spots. So, the rivalry for Jokic was Embiid. That
[1:28:44] Speaker 2: was the rival between those two.
[1:28:47] Speaker 1: That's what it should have been.
[1:28:48] Speaker 2: I mean, you know, yeah. So Wimby is emerging.
[1:28:55] Speaker 3: As a challenge for... You know, he's like replacing.
[1:29:00] Speaker 2: Embiid, but he's still the young puppy trying to figure
[1:29:04] Speaker 2: his game out before. So when you're looking at these stats,
[1:29:09] Speaker 2: you're averaging 37 against someone who's trying to figure out
[1:29:13] Speaker 2: his game. Just like when you score 70, you're going
[1:29:16] Speaker 2: to take advantage of a guy who don't fully know
[1:29:19] Speaker 2: the game yet. This is still learning and understanding what
[1:29:23] Speaker 2: I'm doing. So I'm shooting 42% against you. But you're
[1:29:27] Speaker 2: not a defensive player. That's only because I'm taking bad shots.
[1:29:31] Speaker 2: And I want to shoot threes because this is my skill.
[1:29:34] Speaker 2: Once Wimby understands who he is, he's going to be
[1:29:40] Speaker 2: dominating while Jokic is falling down.
[1:29:43] Speaker 3: So his real.
[1:29:44] Speaker 2: Rivalry has to be Chet, but Chet is not number
[1:29:49] Speaker 2: one star. So Wimby's looking at him like, yeah, I'm
[1:29:52] Speaker 2: not paying attention to a dude who's not the best
[1:29:54] Speaker 2: player on.
[1:29:57] Speaker 3: The team yet.
[1:29:58] Speaker 2: But it has to be within that group of where
[1:30:01] Speaker 2: he's at. And he doesn't have really.
[1:30:04] Speaker 5: Are Jokic and Wimby in the MVP discussion? I think
[1:30:09] Speaker 5: we've had that conversation before. No, Wimby is in the MVP.
[1:30:11] Speaker 5: What did you say? I said, are Jokic and Wimby
[1:30:14] Speaker 5: both in the MVP discussion for this season?
[1:30:17] Speaker 2: Yeah, but I'm not going to take this three-NVP vet,
[1:30:20] Speaker 2: and I got this pup, and I'm not going to
[1:30:22] Speaker 2: say they're a rival. Because if we ask.
[1:30:24] Speaker 1: I'm saying it's a building tour.
[1:30:25] Speaker 2: If you ask Jokic, is this a rival, he might
[1:30:27] Speaker 2: smack you.
[1:30:28] Speaker 3: Yeah, he might smack you. It's like you're not going to.
[1:30:29] Speaker 2: I'm a three-time MVP. Like, don't play with me like that.
[1:30:33] Speaker 3: All right. Don't play with me. But you know what
[1:30:35] Speaker 3: I mean?
[1:30:35] Speaker 2: But as a big man, and these guys are trying
[1:30:37] Speaker 2: to battle, if they go into the playoffs, this is
[1:30:41] Speaker 2: their matchup. So if they go into the playoffs and
[1:30:43] Speaker 2: go down to a game seven or stuff like that,
[1:30:45] Speaker 2: It's going to be featured next year between them two.
[1:30:47] Speaker 2: And those games start being battles.
[1:30:49] Speaker 3: It can be kind of like D-Rose. It can be
[1:30:51] Speaker 3: kind of like D-Rose.
[1:30:52] Speaker 1: Even when being year three, we're talking about Jokic's numbers,
[1:30:57] Speaker 1: extremely impressive. But year three, Wimby averaging 26 and 15
[1:31:01] Speaker 1: against a three-time MVP, in my opinion.
[1:31:03] Speaker 2: We've got to see.
[1:31:04] Speaker 3: Also very impressive.
[1:31:05] Speaker 6: You can't start the rivalry with the numbers. You have
[1:31:08] Speaker 6: to start the rivalry with how they're playing against each
[1:31:10] Speaker 6: other and how we're watching it. Because the numbers are
[1:31:12] Speaker 6: going to favor Joker just because of his experience.
[1:31:16] Speaker 3: Exactly.
[1:31:16] Speaker 6: Like Gil's saying, the more time he gets, the more
[1:31:20] Speaker 6: he's going to change that dynamic.
[1:31:21] Speaker 3: He's averaging, what, 15 boards, four blocks? So is Wimby
[1:31:24] Speaker 3: a center?
[1:31:26] Speaker 2: What's funny is it's hard to be a rival if
[1:31:29] Speaker 2: Jokic don't even guard him.
[1:31:31] Speaker 3: Is Wimby a center? Is he considered a center?
[1:31:32] Speaker 1: Who does Wimby guard?
[1:31:34] Speaker 3: Jokic. So when it's all said and done, will Wimby
[1:31:38] Speaker 3: be one of the best centers ever? I mean, we
[1:31:41] Speaker 3: don't know. We got to see. We know Yogi's his top.
[1:31:45] Speaker 2: We know what lane he's in. He's in that lane.
[1:31:49] Speaker 3: Right? You're talking about what he's doing year three?
[1:31:52] Speaker 2: He can... I mean, this motherfucker can come out here.
[1:31:54] Speaker 3: And have 70 tonight. I didn't know what position to
[1:31:55] Speaker 3: put him in. That's why. He can be a center.
[1:31:57] Speaker 3: I thought he was a powerful... He's 7'5, right? But
[1:32:00] Speaker 3: you got KD, he's 7 feet.
[1:32:03] Speaker 2: No, but he says he's 6'9, so make me a
[1:32:05] Speaker 2: small four.
[1:32:06] Speaker 3: Make me a small four. I can't wait for that list.
[1:32:10] Speaker 3: That's going to be a crazy list then. Which one?
[1:32:12] Speaker 3: With Wimmy added to it. Because the Shacks and... Well, Jokic. Yeah,
[1:32:18] Speaker 3: Jokic is not fine. He might as far as stats.
[1:32:20] Speaker 3: I'm talking about when it's all said and done. I
[1:32:25] Speaker 3: can't wait to see that. Like as far as stats though, right? Yes. Everything, yes.
[1:32:29] Speaker 6: Because right now, David Robertson and Tim Duncan are the
[1:32:33] Speaker 6: Spurs niggas that he's already like trying to get past them.
[1:32:37] Speaker 3: I'm talking about when it's all said and done. I
[1:32:39] Speaker 3: think he'll be past David Robertson. As individual stats? As
[1:32:46] Speaker 3: an individual player, yes, he.
[1:32:50] Speaker 2: Can surpass him because he has– he's younger coming into
[1:32:53] Speaker 2: the league, right?
[1:32:55] Speaker 3: He accomplished more fast. Yeah. So, like, I think this
[1:32:58] Speaker 3: would be David Robinson's rookie season, right? He came in
[1:33:01] Speaker 3: with 21-22. 24, I believe.
[1:33:02] Speaker 2: Yeah, see, so, like, so all these stats are just
[1:33:05] Speaker 2: free money for him.
[1:33:06] Speaker 1: The nigga was in the Navy.
[1:33:08] Speaker 2: Right.
[1:33:08] Speaker 3: So the Navy together. Right. So he can. Yeah.
[1:33:11] Speaker 2: So he's going to just say he has 10 healthy years.
[1:33:15] Speaker 2: He can clear out all of.
[1:33:17] Speaker 3: That's what I'm saying. He can. He can.
[1:33:19] Speaker 2: Listen, to be honest, when you think about the Spurs organization,
[1:33:24] Speaker 2: he can own them every category.
[1:33:27] Speaker 3: Rebounding, blocks, scoring. threes made, right? You got threes made.
[1:33:33] Speaker 2: He's going to be that guy for that. So he
[1:33:36] Speaker 2: can sit there and own all the records.
[1:33:38] Speaker 6: Well, it would have to be like playoff records now.
[1:33:41] Speaker 3: That's true.
[1:33:41] Speaker 6: The team that takes him over to playoff point, like
[1:33:45] Speaker 6: that's Tim Duncan's bread.
[1:33:48] Speaker 3: And butter, what he did in the playoffs.
[1:33:49] Speaker 5: So Wimbley will be in his fifth season when he's 24.
[1:33:52] Speaker 5: David Robinson, like you just mentioned, a rookie, 24 years,
[1:33:55] Speaker 5: did the two years.
[1:33:55] Speaker 3: That's crazy.
[1:33:56] Speaker 1: The Naval service, the Admiral.
[1:33:59] Speaker 3: He already been probably past this shit.
[1:34:00] Speaker 5: So that brings me to my next question. I think
[1:34:02] Speaker 5: it's different. Everybody, you know, talks about the Embiid-Jokic. Obviously,
[1:34:06] Speaker 5: they were never going to see each other in the
[1:34:08] Speaker 5: playoffs as long as Embiid was playing with the Sixers.
[1:34:11] Speaker 3: Oh, yeah, because Easton. I'm just saying.
[1:34:12] Speaker 5: But now you've got, and obviously they're playing each other
[1:34:15] Speaker 5: twice a year. You've got, seems like Wimby-Jokic can fast track,
[1:34:19] Speaker 5: but with the Nuggets likely to secure the three-seed, Spurs
[1:34:22] Speaker 5: locking up the two-seed. These two appear on a collision course.
[1:34:26] Speaker 5: to meet in the second round of the playoffs. That
[1:34:29] Speaker 5: brings me to my next question. We saw they had
[1:34:30] Speaker 5: a great game, recently went to overtime. Who are you
[1:34:33] Speaker 5: taking in a seven-game series, the Nuggets or Spurs? It
[1:34:40] Speaker 5: all depends on who they play in the first. The
[1:34:44] Speaker 5: only reason I say that is who.
[1:34:48] Speaker 2: Okay, we know Jokic and Wimby are going to do
[1:34:52] Speaker 2: all the heavy lifting, right?
[1:34:53] Speaker 3: We got that.
[1:34:56] Speaker 2: None of those two will be challenged at their position
[1:34:58] Speaker 2: because they technically face each other.
[1:35:00] Speaker 3: So it's who.
[1:35:03] Speaker 2: Are my role players being challenged by? How much energy
[1:35:07] Speaker 2: are they going to be exerting, you know, to get.
[1:35:10] Speaker 3: Out of that first round?
[1:35:11] Speaker 2: Because, yeah, we might 4-0 somebody, but let's say Castle
[1:35:14] Speaker 2: has to guard somebody who averages, damn near, 30. And
[1:35:17] Speaker 2: he's just wasting energy. Yeah, so he has to guard.
[1:35:20] Speaker 2: Right now it's shaping up to be Nuggets, Timberwolves. And then...
[1:35:24] Speaker 2: Nuggets and Timberwolves.
[1:35:26] Speaker 3: Yeah, that's a great one.
[1:35:29] Speaker 5: Spurs and either the Suns, Clippers, or potentially Blazers based
[1:35:32] Speaker 5: on who gets that eighth spot.
[1:35:34] Speaker 3: Okay, so Spurs... So you said Spurs is playing who?
[1:35:38] Speaker 1: Spurs will either play the Suns, Clippers, whoever.
[1:35:41] Speaker 3: That's the only.
[1:35:43] Speaker 5: Teams they can play. Or potentially the Blazers. Whoever wins
[1:35:46] Speaker 5: that 7-8 game gets the 7.
[1:35:48] Speaker 3: But they put them out the last two years. Spurs....
[1:35:52] Speaker 2: I mean, besides Devin Booker, they're not going to waste
[1:35:56] Speaker 2: a lot of energy from the role players that they need.
[1:36:00] Speaker 3: Unless they play the clip. Dillon Brooks out there, though.
[1:36:02] Speaker 3: He's going to come in hot.
[1:36:03] Speaker 2: Yeah, but you're still not wasting energy.
[1:36:06] Speaker 3: As long as Fox, Castle, as long as.
[1:36:11] Speaker 2: Those guys are not expending that energy where they're too
[1:36:15] Speaker 2: tired to do heavy lifting in that next round, if
[1:36:19] Speaker 2: one is just, okay, you just guard Booker and I
[1:36:21] Speaker 2: can just then Spurs.
[1:36:26] Speaker 3: Could beat Denver, right?
[1:36:28] Speaker 2: Because if Murray, that would be stupid if Murray's guarding Ant-Man, right?
[1:36:32] Speaker 2: And he has to deal with Ant-Man.
[1:36:34] Speaker 3: He's going to get his ass burned out.
[1:36:35] Speaker 6: I think Spurs simply because the last game they played,
[1:36:39] Speaker 6: I think that was the highlight of what that series
[1:36:43] Speaker 6: is going to be between them two.
[1:36:45] Speaker 3: As far as the.
[1:36:45] Speaker 6: Coaching matchup, how they coached that game, they did a
[1:36:49] Speaker 6: lot of leading– Brown opened in the corner. He hit
[1:36:54] Speaker 6: a lot of threes that game, and it was a
[1:36:56] Speaker 6: bunch of rotation shots where Joker found him based on
[1:37:00] Speaker 6: them running at him, and they was playing solid defense
[1:37:03] Speaker 6: up until like the last three seconds of the shot clock,
[1:37:05] Speaker 6: five seconds maybe.
[1:37:06] Speaker 3: And there was a lot of times.
[1:37:08] Speaker 6: That you could see that San Antonio was scheming for
[1:37:12] Speaker 6: the Nuggets and trying to see what Gordon was going
[1:37:15] Speaker 6: to do, who was going to hit shots on the
[1:37:17] Speaker 6: weak side, and they actually left Brown open a lot.
[1:37:20] Speaker 6: So if they're going to keep that same That same
[1:37:23] Speaker 6: game plan is going to be based on Brown actually
[1:37:25] Speaker 6: showing up and doing his thing. They took Jamal Murray
[1:37:28] Speaker 6: out of the pick and roll where he was doing
[1:37:30] Speaker 6: his thing, hitting those little shots. They actually clogged the
[1:37:33] Speaker 6: lane on that. They had guys on elbows and nails
[1:37:37] Speaker 6: for where they made him kick and kick. So a
[1:37:39] Speaker 6: lot of those things came down to throwing it in
[1:37:41] Speaker 6: the joker, playing off him. And I think that if
[1:37:44] Speaker 6: they play that way, they got a chance to take
[1:37:47] Speaker 6: a seven.
[1:37:47] Speaker 3: No.
[1:37:48] Speaker 6: If they change up the difference of how they play
[1:37:51] Speaker 6: that game specifically and they do anything else, it could
[1:37:55] Speaker 6: go Denver's way just because they know what they're doing
[1:38:00] Speaker 6: if you're not making it tough on the pick and
[1:38:02] Speaker 6: roll and making another player play. If you allow them
[1:38:04] Speaker 6: two guys to just play the pick and roll and
[1:38:06] Speaker 6: do what they do, you'll get blown out. I don't
[1:38:09] Speaker 6: think the Spurs, no matter who they got out there
[1:38:11] Speaker 6: playing them guys, it's just the way that they play.
[1:38:14] Speaker 6: But I think the way that they play that game,
[1:38:16] Speaker 6: if De'Aaron Fox don't fucking– shit, he fucking– tricked off
[1:38:19] Speaker 6: the fucking layup to fucking tie the game up.
[1:38:22] Speaker 3: And he was supposed to make the game.
[1:38:23] Speaker 6: Nah, when he shorted, he shorted the little shot.
[1:38:26] Speaker 3: And I think a lot of different plays, small plays.
[1:38:30] Speaker 3: why I don't feel like the Spurs are going to win.
[1:38:31] Speaker 3: Because Demmer, that showed it. They showed how to win.
[1:38:37] Speaker 3: In the hard times, when the game's on the line,
[1:38:40] Speaker 3: that youngness come out. And I feel like even Wimby,
[1:38:43] Speaker 3: in overtime, he didn't step up. He didn't shoot the ball.
[1:38:48] Speaker 3: He didn't go towards the ball. that much he.
[1:38:50] Speaker 6: Did they went to him every time he got the
[1:38:52] Speaker 6: ball it was just that he had aaron gordon on
[1:38:54] Speaker 6: him aaron.
[1:38:55] Speaker 3: Gordon knew how to play him about and when playoffs
[1:38:58] Speaker 3: shots matter when you miss a shot as a young
[1:39:00] Speaker 3: person that's like god damn.
[1:39:02] Speaker 6: No you go to dearon fox that's who you gotta
[1:39:05] Speaker 6: go to.
[1:39:06] Speaker 3: And they're going but he still ain't been in no
[1:39:08] Speaker 3: he ain't been he's been to the second round He's
[1:39:11] Speaker 3: just a clutch performer. He is.
[1:39:13] Speaker 6: He's the one that got the experience. He's still thinking
[1:39:16] Speaker 6: he got to pass to Wimby. No, that's what needs
[1:39:19] Speaker 6: to change.
[1:39:19] Speaker 3: That's what I'm saying. Yeah.
[1:39:21] Speaker 6: Everybody feel like they got to, huh. That's why you
[1:39:25] Speaker 6: test it out. In the playoffs, Joker's going straight to
[1:39:27] Speaker 6: his spots.
[1:39:28] Speaker 3: Comfortable. They've been there before. They're comfortable. When you see
[1:39:32] Speaker 3: a guy looking like that, making every shot, and you
[1:39:35] Speaker 3: missing yours, your head go down as a young player.
[1:39:37] Speaker 3: You start thinking, oh, man, this shit over with. We
[1:39:39] Speaker 3: ain't got a chance.
[1:39:40] Speaker 6: But he ain't like everybody else. He not the type
[1:39:42] Speaker 6: of guy that's going to be like, oh, Naheem, give
[1:39:45] Speaker 6: me the ball again. And then I think he will
[1:39:48] Speaker 6: defer if he ain't got it going. He really like, hey, De'Aaron,
[1:39:51] Speaker 6: if you feel like you got it, let's go.
[1:39:53] Speaker 3: Take over. Let's do it.
[1:39:54] Speaker 6: As long as we winning, that's all that matters.
[1:39:58] Speaker 3: Fox, you got to get that program.
[1:40:00] Speaker 2: It's going to be a really, like, if they meet
[1:40:03] Speaker 2: up in the championship, it will be a.
[1:40:06] Speaker 3: Very, very.
[1:40:07] Speaker 4: A second round?
[1:40:08] Speaker 2: I mean, meeting a second round because outside of your, like,
[1:40:14] Speaker 2: the guys are going to be left open, right? If
[1:40:17] Speaker 2: you're trying to scheme, really aren't great three-point shooters. So
[1:40:21] Speaker 2: you're going to rely on them to shoot threes at
[1:40:24] Speaker 2: a very high level.
[1:40:26] Speaker 3: Right?
[1:40:26] Speaker 2: So if those guys are making threes, it can change
[1:40:30] Speaker 2: how the defense is. If they're missing threes, it's going
[1:40:32] Speaker 2: to be a problem. Right? So I'm looking at they
[1:40:35] Speaker 2: took 45 threes. It was 15 for 45. If Wimby don't,
[1:40:45] Speaker 2: and this was rare that Wimby got fouled and went
[1:40:48] Speaker 2: to the free throw line.
[1:40:49] Speaker 3: If Wimby don't shoot 16 free throws.
[1:40:51] Speaker 1: Yeah.
[1:40:52] Speaker 2: You know what I mean? If he was sitting there just,
[1:40:54] Speaker 2: I'm going to just keep checking threes with the rest
[1:40:56] Speaker 2: of my team, they don't stay in that game. But
[1:40:58] Speaker 2: now he's getting people in foul trouble. He's putting pressure
[1:41:01] Speaker 2: on them.
[1:41:02] Speaker 6: And he did that early in the first half, too.
[1:41:04] Speaker 6: He had like eight free throws in the first half.
[1:41:07] Speaker 6: He was getting to the line early.
[1:41:08] Speaker 2: Champagny, Wimby shooting threes. Okay, so like Fox, okay, you
[1:41:11] Speaker 2: can shoot threes. You didn't make none that game.
[1:41:13] Speaker 3: Harrison Barnes.
[1:41:13] Speaker 2: Vassell, right, you're a three-point shooter.
[1:41:16] Speaker 5: Fox and Wimby in the clutch were obviously left much
[1:41:19] Speaker 5: to be desired, but you would think that that's not
[1:41:21] Speaker 5: going to.
[1:41:22] Speaker 2: Like Chris, like Brown, 11 threes.
[1:41:27] Speaker 3: He shot 11. Cam Johnson, he shot a couple. He
[1:41:31] Speaker 3: was four for eight.
[1:41:33] Speaker 2: But, you know, the ones that are really like, you're
[1:41:35] Speaker 2: talking about Peyton Watson.
[1:41:36] Speaker 3: He's not Peyton.
[1:41:39] Speaker 2: You're going to allow Gordon to shoot threes.
[1:41:41] Speaker 3: If you hit him, we'll guard you.
[1:41:43] Speaker 2: If you hit him, we'll guard you, but we're going
[1:41:47] Speaker 2: to let you shoot him. They're going to let Gordon
[1:41:51] Speaker 2: shoot threes before they guard him, and they're going to
[1:41:54] Speaker 2: let Brown shoot threes.
[1:41:56] Speaker 3: And they was pre-rotating.
[1:41:57] Speaker 2: If you make them, cool.
[1:41:58] Speaker 3: We'll adjust. But y'all going to see if.
[1:42:01] Speaker 2: Y'all hot this series in game by game. But we're
[1:42:04] Speaker 2: not going to let Murray or we're not going to
[1:42:06] Speaker 2: let Murray and Jokic get open shots and shoot threes
[1:42:09] Speaker 2: because we know what happens if they are on fire.
[1:42:13] Speaker 2: But if Christian, if you hit three threes and you're
[1:42:15] Speaker 2: going to take shots away from, you know, your two stars, cool.
[1:42:19] Speaker 3: Keep it. Keep going up. Yeah. But he's a three-point shooter. But,
[1:42:23] Speaker 3: you know, you got three.
[1:42:24] Speaker 2: You're going to always have three and then you're going
[1:42:26] Speaker 2: to have two.
[1:42:26] Speaker 3: Oh, no, Tim Hardaway. Tim Hardaway cheering. But, yeah, you're
[1:42:28] Speaker 3: going to have them three. That's what they was doing.
[1:42:30] Speaker 6: They was leaving Tim in the game with Cam Johnson.
[1:42:34] Speaker 3: Okay, now you're changing. Now it changed. Then you got.
[1:42:36] Speaker 6: Aaron in the dunker. That's what made it tough. That
[1:42:38] Speaker 6: made it real tough for them.
[1:42:41] Speaker 5: So we asked the chat, who wins in a seven-game
[1:42:43] Speaker 5: series between the Nuggets and.
[1:42:45] Speaker 1: Spurs if it happens?
[1:42:46] Speaker 5: 62% of the chat thinks the Nuggets.
[1:42:48] Speaker 3: The Six, probably.
[1:42:50] Speaker 1: Nuggets and Six.
[1:42:52] Speaker 3: I think Yoga's just going to win. I can tell
[1:42:55] Speaker 3: you this.
[1:42:56] Speaker 2: I mean, if Spurs don't do nothing, nothing too serious
[1:42:59] Speaker 2: this summer, They're going to be favorite next year.
[1:43:02] Speaker 3: By far.
[1:43:03] Speaker 1: Spurs don't do nothing too soon.
[1:43:04] Speaker 3: I like the Spurs next year.
[1:43:04] Speaker 2: Meaning if they don't, if they don't, if they don't, like,
[1:43:08] Speaker 2: I don't care how you lose in the playoffs. Let's
[1:43:11] Speaker 2: say you get 4-0'd. Don't do nothing drastic.
[1:43:13] Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, please don't. Because, because.
[1:43:18] Speaker 2: All they need is more time. Meaning that means Castle's
[1:43:23] Speaker 2: going to go into the summer. He knows how year
[1:43:26] Speaker 2: two went. He's going to develop the jumper in the middie.
[1:43:29] Speaker 3: Right?
[1:43:30] Speaker 2: No, same thing with Harper. This is his first year.
[1:43:31] Speaker 2: He's going to understand how to get better.
[1:43:34] Speaker 1: Right?
[1:43:34] Speaker 3: Wimby's going to understand how to get better.
[1:43:36] Speaker 2: Right? Fox is like the perfect guy that you need
[1:43:40] Speaker 2: right now.
[1:43:41] Speaker 3: Yeah.
[1:43:43] Speaker 2: And if my 266 jumping guards find their jumper, find
[1:43:47] Speaker 2: their rhythm, we can see what we can get for you.
[1:43:50] Speaker 2: Right now, we need you because they still haven't developed yet.
[1:43:54] Speaker 1: So.
[1:43:55] Speaker 2: So what happens to Fox is he can be the
[1:43:58] Speaker 2: reason they win a championship or he can be the
[1:44:01] Speaker 2: reason they got a.
[1:44:02] Speaker 3: Piece to win a championship.
[1:44:05] Speaker 2: Right? He's going to be like, if he can get
[1:44:06] Speaker 2: one this year, cool, he did it for us. But
[1:44:10] Speaker 2: he is going to be that piece that you're going
[1:44:12] Speaker 2: to move him. I don't know how long I keep
[1:44:16] Speaker 2: Harper in.
[1:44:18] Speaker 6: Right, because he's actually breaking out in front of us.
[1:44:20] Speaker 2: Yes, and Fox is like.
[1:44:22] Speaker 3: Is he breaking out like that over Fox? Because he's pure.
[1:44:26] Speaker 6: I'm not going to say over.
[1:44:29] Speaker 3: That's why I'm not going to win. Because Fox sees
[1:44:32] Speaker 3: this shit. He got potential, bro. He really.
[1:44:34] Speaker 6: He got bounce. He can really go. He can really go.
[1:44:41] Speaker 6: He can really go. But Fox is still so good.
[1:44:45] Speaker 2: And you're like, well, if you can get two bigs
[1:44:47] Speaker 2: for Fox. I was telling y'all this earlier about getting
[1:44:51] Speaker 2: rid of Fox. I thought I was crazy.
[1:44:52] Speaker 3: Getting rid of Fox is sick. I thought I was
[1:44:55] Speaker 3: crazy when I said that. I think he's an all-star.
[1:44:58] Speaker 3: That's what I'm saying.
[1:44:59] Speaker 1: Dylan Harper is 12-4 in 23 minutes per game.
[1:45:01] Speaker 2: He's so good.
[1:45:02] Speaker 3: Rookie year, right? Rookie year? Yeah.
[1:45:06] Speaker 1: But the Spurs have Brad Gill next season, too.
[1:45:08] Speaker 3: I know.
[1:45:09] Speaker 6: They don't need a draft, but they can. They can
[1:45:10] Speaker 6: go get somebody. Keep him for one more year. Let
[1:45:15] Speaker 6: Dylan get another year under Fox. It's going to be
[1:45:19] Speaker 6: a setback.
[1:45:21] Speaker 3: It's going to be a setback. No, it's not.
[1:45:24] Speaker 1: You can go get somebody for Fox.
[1:45:26] Speaker 3: You're going to have to hope he get better. Harper.
[1:45:30] Speaker 3: Hope he get better. It was like the Wizards. No,
[1:45:34] Speaker 3: not the Wizards. The Bullets. The Bullets had a problem
[1:45:37] Speaker 3: and they didn't know who to keep.
[1:45:39] Speaker 2: They had on one team, they had Rasheed Wallace, Ben Wallace,
[1:45:47] Speaker 2: Chris Webber, and Jawan Howard.
[1:45:51] Speaker 6: You don't even know the names.
[1:45:54] Speaker 3: No, you know.
[1:45:55] Speaker 2: But that's the team that they had. You basically got
[1:45:59] Speaker 2: four Hall of Famers on the same team, but you
[1:46:03] Speaker 2: can only play two at a time. So, it's like,
[1:46:05] Speaker 2: who do you get rid of? But they all play
[1:46:07] Speaker 2: in the same position. They all play the same position. So,
[1:46:10] Speaker 2: it's like, who do you get rid of?
[1:46:12] Speaker 1: They got Harrison Barnes coming off the books.
[1:46:14] Speaker 6: So, I was thinking that, too. I was thinking Harrison
[1:46:17] Speaker 6: is going to be.
[1:46:18] Speaker 1: They've got somewhere like the $ 20 million. What about Kelton?
[1:46:21] Speaker 5: Kelton is still there for one more season. But you got.
[1:46:24] Speaker 2: To remember, also, their shooting guards and their three is
[1:46:28] Speaker 2: the same size as their points. Right, so Vassell and,
[1:46:32] Speaker 2: you know, they're six foot.
[1:46:34] Speaker 3: They're smaller. They've been playing Castle at the point. They've
[1:46:37] Speaker 3: been playing him at the point.
[1:46:38] Speaker 6: So they really looking at Dillon and Castle as being one-two.
[1:46:42] Speaker 3: That's my one-two.
[1:46:44] Speaker 6: I've been telling y'all D-Fox was going to be like,
[1:46:47] Speaker 6: everybody thought I was tripping.
[1:46:48] Speaker 3: He was averaging 20 next to Steph. Once you become
[1:46:53] Speaker 3: your own guy, you don't have to worry about, you
[1:46:56] Speaker 3: got to deal with that too. Well, the pressure Harper
[1:47:00] Speaker 3: move up to that starting job at the point guard
[1:47:02] Speaker 3: position pressure from who? Garden shade and all being the
[1:47:06] Speaker 3: main guy right now. We coming up. They got that's
[1:47:09] Speaker 3: what everybody. No, but that's what they're best.
[1:47:12] Speaker 2: No, don't see come to the thing right now with
[1:47:14] Speaker 2: Harper and what's the name? This is the difference like
[1:47:17] Speaker 2: they are both six six with damn near 40 inch verticals.
[1:47:21] Speaker 2: They can create their own shot. They can get downhill.
[1:47:24] Speaker 2: They strong they physical they play defense. So they are
[1:47:28] Speaker 2: like an upgrade to my 6'4 guy. That's an all-star.
[1:47:34] Speaker 2: But my 6'4 guy is an all-star who can shoot
[1:47:36] Speaker 2: the ball as fast as shit. So he has different attributes.
[1:47:39] Speaker 6: We upgraded him. They are an upgrade hybrid of what
[1:47:43] Speaker 6: Fox is.
[1:47:43] Speaker 1: Physically.
[1:47:44] Speaker 3: Right. So when we're talking about that, when we're talking
[1:47:46] Speaker 3: about their.
[1:47:47] Speaker 2: Upgrade, no, no, no. When we're saying garden, Shay and
[1:47:50] Speaker 2: Luke and all them, I don't have to worry about
[1:47:52] Speaker 2: none of those two because they're strong enough and big
[1:47:54] Speaker 2: enough to guard.
[1:47:55] Speaker 6: So would you put Fox on Shay and Luca to
[1:47:58] Speaker 6: stop them?
[1:48:01] Speaker 3: So who would they put on a map?
[1:48:02] Speaker 6: Bro, would you put De'Aaron Fox on Luka to stop him?
[1:48:07] Speaker 3: No, I'm putting Castle on him. Right.
[1:48:09] Speaker 6: So that's what he's saying. He's saying to upgrade the
[1:48:11] Speaker 6: body frame and all that.
[1:48:12] Speaker 3: If Harper Jr. was there, I would put Castle on him.
[1:48:14] Speaker 3: I'm not putting Harper on him.
[1:48:15] Speaker 6: You're not putting Fox on him.
[1:48:18] Speaker 3: I'm not putting Harper on him.
[1:48:19] Speaker 1: Why not, though?
[1:48:20] Speaker 3: Harper's 6'6. No, but that's what I'm saying.
[1:48:23] Speaker 1: It's just like.
[1:48:23] Speaker 6: You're just saying the matchup, how the matchup is. De'Aaron
[1:48:26] Speaker 6: Fox is a thin... It's almost like when you talk
[1:48:30] Speaker 6: about a 2K player, you will put De'Aaron Fox in
[1:48:32] Speaker 6: the game because his attributes and his achievements.
[1:48:35] Speaker 3: But.
[1:48:35] Speaker 6: You're going to look at the skill set of Harper
[1:48:37] Speaker 6: and Castle and say, no, I need him to guard Shea.
[1:48:40] Speaker 6: I need him to guard Luka. And we're going to
[1:48:42] Speaker 6: play off that. Fox will bring you in and get
[1:48:44] Speaker 6: buckets because that's what you do. But you're not going
[1:48:47] Speaker 6: to go on the other end and do what they do.
[1:48:49] Speaker 2: It's just like, what do you what do you win
[1:48:50] Speaker 2: and lose? You're losing a pure outside shooter, someone who's
[1:48:54] Speaker 2: fast as hell, who can just get downhill as fast
[1:48:57] Speaker 2: as possible.
[1:48:57] Speaker 3: Right. One of the fastest in the league at doing it.
[1:49:00] Speaker 2: You're going to lose that in real shooting from the outside,
[1:49:04] Speaker 2: and you're gaining more height and a stronger attack at
[1:49:09] Speaker 2: the basket. It's not a good move, but it's going
[1:49:14] Speaker 2: to be a move. It's like, do I want Harper
[1:49:19] Speaker 2: and Castle, or do I want Fox and Castle?
[1:49:24] Speaker 3: It's not straight to De'Aaron Fox.
[1:49:25] Speaker 5: If you're paying De'Aaron Fox $ 55 million a year, you
[1:49:27] Speaker 5: got Dylan Harper.
[1:49:29] Speaker 1: You don't have to break bread with.
[1:49:31] Speaker 2: But it's not the money.
[1:49:34] Speaker 1: But it's not the money part, but I can take
[1:49:36] Speaker 1: that money now and get it.
[1:49:37] Speaker 3: It's one of these. It's Houston.
[1:49:39] Speaker 2: No, not Houston, but no, no. Houston did it with
[1:49:41] Speaker 2: John Wall.
[1:49:42] Speaker 3: John Wall damn near averaged. Look at that last year.
[1:49:44] Speaker 3: It was averaging 19 and 10, 21 and 10. And
[1:49:45] Speaker 3: it's like.
[1:49:48] Speaker 2: Yeah, you can keep doing this, but I got two
[1:49:50] Speaker 2: guys that I need to. I need them to play 30-something.
[1:49:53] Speaker 3: John Walloff for injury.
[1:49:55] Speaker 2: No, what I'm saying is you're still doing you, but
[1:49:57] Speaker 2: I need them to play. As long as you're on
[1:49:59] Speaker 2: a team, they can't develop the way.
[1:50:01] Speaker 3: I want them to. Well, it seems like this season,
[1:50:03] Speaker 3: next season.
[1:50:03] Speaker 2: So it's like, do I keep Fox in because I
[1:50:07] Speaker 2: got to play him, or do I let Harper come
[1:50:09] Speaker 2: in and.
[1:50:09] Speaker 5: Hurry up and get those minutes? At a certain point,
[1:50:13] Speaker 5: he's going to make it undeniable. I'm saying 12 points
[1:50:16] Speaker 5: per game in 23 minutes from 51%.
[1:50:17] Speaker 3: It's like, how long do I keep him? I don't
[1:50:19] Speaker 3: want it to happen. I ain't going to make it undeniable.
[1:50:22] Speaker 2: How long do I keep him at 21 minutes is
[1:50:24] Speaker 2: what we're saying.
[1:50:25] Speaker 6: Because he's coming off the bench. He's giving us firepower.
[1:50:28] Speaker 6: 12 points off the bench for a rookie in 20-something minutes.
[1:50:31] Speaker 5: Vassell could be, not to say the odd man out,
[1:50:34] Speaker 5: but he could also be Moved around?
[1:50:36] Speaker 2: Yes. No, no, I remember, no, no, Vassell, like, he's
[1:50:40] Speaker 2: going to be one of those. But he's got a
[1:50:41] Speaker 2: great contract. I remember we traded for Caron, right? Caron
[1:50:45] Speaker 2: was supposed to be our sixth man, right? He was
[1:50:48] Speaker 2: coming off the bench, supposed to be a sixth man.
[1:50:51] Speaker 2: It was only like five to ten games, and we
[1:50:53] Speaker 2: sitting there looking at Coach like, he's moving different like
[1:51:04] Speaker 2: we had Jarvis Hayes Jarvis Hayes was the three yeah
[1:51:07] Speaker 2: can jump can shoot but I don't know if I
[1:51:10] Speaker 2: don't know if Karan being there kind of like got
[1:51:13] Speaker 2: but it was like it was like one of those
[1:51:15] Speaker 2: things where you can see Karan came in with a
[1:51:18] Speaker 2: whole different attitude right he's coming in he's playing bully
[1:51:22] Speaker 2: ball he's getting downhill and I was like.
[1:51:26] Speaker 3: I don't know how long you're going to keep him
[1:51:27] Speaker 3: on the bench. He's a starter.
[1:51:30] Speaker 2: Shit, he's the third best player on the team at
[1:51:32] Speaker 2: this moment in time. And then he started starting, and
[1:51:36] Speaker 2: we was just a whole different team. Same thing with
[1:51:39] Speaker 2: Andre Blotch. Andre Blotch. There was a moment in time.
[1:51:42] Speaker 3: Where we're like, yo. Yeah, he pretty good. We over here.
[1:51:46] Speaker 2: Thinking that there was one of those decisions that was like, yo,
[1:51:49] Speaker 2: do we get rid of Antoine Jameson? because he's making
[1:51:53] Speaker 2: as much, and put in Andre Blotch and have Andre
[1:51:56] Speaker 2: at the four, Brennan, or do we play small ball
[1:51:59] Speaker 2: and have Andre at the five and what's in there?
[1:52:02] Speaker 3: That was a decision. Yep. Because Andre Blotch was still.
[1:52:05] Speaker 2: In it, but the way he was playing and moving,
[1:52:09] Speaker 2: we're like, yo, he is the four man.
[1:52:11] Speaker 3: Yeah.
[1:52:12] Speaker 2: And this is what the lineup was supposed to be.
[1:52:14] Speaker 2: This is what, when we're having that discussion, me and
[1:52:17] Speaker 2: the coaching staff before the season, the idea was me
[1:52:21] Speaker 2: at the one. Karan at the two, Antoine at the three,
[1:52:26] Speaker 2: Andre Blatch at the.
[1:52:27] Speaker 3: Four, Brennan at the five.
[1:52:28] Speaker 2: That was supposed to be our team we was going
[1:52:32] Speaker 2: into the season moving with. And Andre Blotches, you know
[1:52:37] Speaker 2: what I mean? You keep seeing the potential. It's like, yo,
[1:52:39] Speaker 2: take this shit serious.
[1:52:40] Speaker 3: Don't get out the club. Let's go ahead and make
[1:52:42] Speaker 3: this happen.
[1:52:43] Speaker 2: And then training camp coming out of shape, and it's like,
[1:52:45] Speaker 2: all right.
[1:52:45] Speaker 3: We're going to roll this goddamn lineup. Now we're going
[1:52:47] Speaker 3: to go smaller. Now it's me to.
[1:52:49] Speaker 2: Sean, and we got to go a little bit smaller
[1:52:51] Speaker 2: than we wanted to. So, you know, you do have
[1:52:55] Speaker 2: plans on a lineup that you like, and then training
[1:52:58] Speaker 2: camp changes.
[1:53:00] Speaker 1: But it's like what Harper is like, like, These are
[1:53:02] Speaker 1: very good problems to have if you're the San Antonio State.
[1:53:04] Speaker 3: No, it ain't. What? No, it ain't. It's not a
[1:53:06] Speaker 3: good problem.
[1:53:06] Speaker 1: These are good problems to have.
[1:53:08] Speaker 3: It's not a good problem. It's not a good problem.
[1:53:10] Speaker 5: You have a loaded roster with pieces that you need
[1:53:12] Speaker 5: to strengthen that roster and a generational talent and victory.
[1:53:15] Speaker 2: You know why I say it's not a good problem?
[1:53:17] Speaker 2: Because your ass is going to have to make a decision.
[1:53:19] Speaker 2: Are you smart enough to do it?
[1:53:21] Speaker 3: That's the difference. Somebody's going to get lost. Are you
[1:53:23] Speaker 3: smart enough to do it?
[1:53:24] Speaker 1: But you don't have to do that until the end
[1:53:25] Speaker 1: of next season, I would argue.
[1:53:27] Speaker 3: No.
[1:53:28] Speaker 1: You can roll with this crew next season.
[1:53:29] Speaker 3: No, I can't. Ah, because you're talking about value. I
[1:53:31] Speaker 3: can't roll with this. You know why?
[1:53:33] Speaker 6: How valuable are the pieces as hot as they are?
[1:53:35] Speaker 6: If we win this year, as hot as we're hot, right?
[1:53:39] Speaker 6: So now you can potentially move Fox. You could potentially
[1:53:43] Speaker 6: move Vassell and Johnson. You could move all of them
[1:53:46] Speaker 6: because we've accomplished something and now we go into the
[1:53:49] Speaker 6: direction of Castle.
[1:53:51] Speaker 3: win be hard.
[1:53:52] Speaker 1: But you got a guy in Kelton Johnson who went
[1:53:53] Speaker 1: from being a starter average of 20 to now.
[1:53:56] Speaker 3: That's business.
[1:53:57] Speaker 2: But I'm not tripping. I'm not serious about trying to
[1:54:00] Speaker 2: get out of it. Who win a championship and move?
[1:54:03] Speaker 2: You got to know history, right?
[1:54:04] Speaker 1: The Boston Celtics?
[1:54:06] Speaker 3: Who do they move? Przingis? Drew Holiday? After they lost.
[1:54:11] Speaker 3: But no, what I'm saying is this. All right, we
[1:54:13] Speaker 3: have Eddie Jones, right? Eddie Jones is all-star.
[1:54:17] Speaker 2: We have Kobe. He looks different, right? He looks different,
[1:54:23] Speaker 2: and we're saying it like this. We can't keep him
[1:54:25] Speaker 2: off the bench. Like, he's moving to the point where
[1:54:28] Speaker 2: he's a starter. He's not as good as Eddie right now,
[1:54:32] Speaker 2: but if we gave him Eddie's time, he would surpass
[1:54:37] Speaker 2: where Eddie is right now. He just needs the time,
[1:54:40] Speaker 2: but Eddie's still playing like an all-star. So what happens
[1:54:43] Speaker 2: is you sit in there and say, all right, hold on.
[1:54:47] Speaker 2: as long as we keep him on a bench, there's
[1:54:49] Speaker 2: still a problem because everyone's clearly seeing his talent.
[1:54:54] Speaker 3: He's not as quiet, but if.
[1:54:55] Speaker 2: We 20 games into the season, him playing 30 something minutes,
[1:54:59] Speaker 2: he clearly is going to be a lot better. That
[1:55:01] Speaker 2: was the decision that the Lakers had to make because of.
[1:55:04] Speaker 1: That, right?
[1:55:05] Speaker 2: Sometimes you have a talent that comes in and they're
[1:55:08] Speaker 2: moving to the point where they're making you make a
[1:55:10] Speaker 2: decision faster than you want to.
[1:55:12] Speaker 3: That happened with the Lakers.
[1:55:13] Speaker 2: Like, It also happened with the– Like, remember the year
[1:55:17] Speaker 2: Kobe made the All-Star game?
[1:55:18] Speaker 3: Pazinkis. Pazinkis. No, the year Kobe made the All-Star game. Pazinski. Pazinski. No,
[1:55:23] Speaker 3: the year Kobe made the All-Star game. Then he got Pazinski.
[1:55:26] Speaker 2: Remember, what's-his-name was an All-Star. Eddie Jones made the All-Star game.
[1:55:29] Speaker 2: He's a real All-Star. So, my shooting guard who's coming
[1:55:32] Speaker 2: off the bench, who's an eighth man, making it two
[1:55:34] Speaker 2: by fan favorite.
[1:55:35] Speaker 3: Eddie Jones. Eddie Jones.
[1:55:37] Speaker 1: Fox.
[1:55:37] Speaker 3: Fox. It's different. No, what I'm saying is... Shut up, man. Stop.
[1:55:42] Speaker 3: Eddie Jones and Fox? Eddie Jones is an all-star. Eddie
[1:55:45] Speaker 3: Jones is an all... Like, what I'm saying is he
[1:55:47] Speaker 3: makes an all-star. He had his own team like Fox.
[1:55:50] Speaker 3: He had his own team like Fox. All NBA like Fox.
[1:55:54] Speaker 3: Fox was by himself. He was over there with Sabonis.
[1:55:56] Speaker 3: All NBA like Fox.
[1:55:58] Speaker 2: What I'm saying is it's not at that caliber where
[1:56:01] Speaker 2: we're saying that you have this talent that is a talent, right? But...
[1:56:07] Speaker 2: We have this piece that's not here yet, but if
[1:56:10] Speaker 2: we upgrade it.
[1:56:11] Speaker 3: Will he surpass... By next year.
[1:56:14] Speaker 2: And the answer is yes, you might have to do it.
[1:56:16] Speaker 3: They took a chance on that. Like with you.
[1:56:18] Speaker 2: When you came in, the idea was if you started
[1:56:21] Speaker 2: looking decent in the first 20 games, they were going
[1:56:24] Speaker 2: to start you in front of Deshaun. And Deshaun was
[1:56:26] Speaker 2: just going to be a six-man.
[1:56:27] Speaker 3: That's how that was going to work. That happens, but
[1:56:29] Speaker 3: sometimes it happens like Clay and Brzezinski. Eddie Jones did
[1:56:33] Speaker 3: it too. No, but that's his, like. He was young. Who?
[1:56:37] Speaker 1: Eddie Jones when that.
[1:56:38] Speaker 3: No, think about it. How old was Eddie Jones?
[1:56:40] Speaker 5: He was in his third season, I think, when they
[1:56:41] Speaker 5: drafted Kobe. Eddie Jones' third season. He was the all-star.
[1:56:45] Speaker 3: He was supposed to be like, I wanted the max.
[1:56:47] Speaker 3: And it was like, Eddie Jones is crazy, bro. I
[1:56:50] Speaker 3: fuck with Eddie Jones.
[1:56:52] Speaker 2: That's why I said it was one of those things
[1:56:53] Speaker 2: you have to make that decision.
[1:56:55] Speaker 3: Same thing with Luka. Think about it.
[1:56:57] Speaker 2: It was Luka Brunson and Dennis Smith Jr.
[1:57:00] Speaker 3: right? Dennis Smith was supposed to be that dude. Dennis
[1:57:02] Speaker 3: Smith was supposed to be that guy.
[1:57:04] Speaker 2: And then Luka's coming in, and he just looks different.
[1:57:07] Speaker 2: And I was like, all right, Dennis, move to the two.
[1:57:09] Speaker 2: We're going to put the ball in his hands. Gordon
[1:57:10] Speaker 2: Hayward and Jason Taylor, yeah.
[1:57:13] Speaker 3: No, it was different. No, he started with, what do
[1:57:15] Speaker 3: you call it? Utah. I know, but with Boston.
[1:57:20] Speaker 6: You talking about the decision they had to make in
[1:57:22] Speaker 6: Boston with them two?
[1:57:23] Speaker 3: They was trying to put one at the four and
[1:57:25] Speaker 3: try to make it a small ball. Tatum came off
[1:57:26] Speaker 3: the bench.
[1:57:26] Speaker 2: Yeah.
[1:57:27] Speaker 3: Tatum came off the bench. And then what happened? And
[1:57:29] Speaker 3: then what happened?
[1:57:29] Speaker 2: No, not Tatum.
[1:57:30] Speaker 3: Brown was coming off the bench. Yeah, Brown came off
[1:57:32] Speaker 3: the bench. No, that was, no, Brown was coming off
[1:57:34] Speaker 3: the bench the first couple of years. Yeah, Tatum came
[1:57:35] Speaker 3: off the bench. But look, I don't know. I want
[1:57:38] Speaker 3: to ask you about the 65 games. So you got
[1:57:40] Speaker 3: Ant-Man ain't going to make it, Luka, Klay, Kade. Who
[1:57:45] Speaker 3: else goes? So who take their spots? We're about to see.
[1:57:48] Speaker 4: There's about to be some dudes who wasn't supposed to be.
[1:57:52] Speaker 3: That's because you wasn't here. No. I've seen the list.
[1:57:55] Speaker 3: It's a lot of people on that list. That's not
[1:57:57] Speaker 3: going to make it? That don't look like they gonna
[1:58:00] Speaker 3: make it unless they do that shit.
[1:58:01] Speaker 2: Now you gotta, so the people who are gonna make
[1:58:04] Speaker 2: it a whole bunch of people we never talked about really?
[1:58:07] Speaker 3: Well, hold on. Well, hold on.
[1:58:09] Speaker 4: You got Jokic right no no but we're saying like
[1:58:13] Speaker 4: Jalen Brown right that's first that's off.
[1:58:16] Speaker 2: No so yeah so they'll get moved so basically whoever
[1:58:19] Speaker 2: was first team how many first team players are not gonna.
[1:58:21] Speaker 1: Make it so you got Luka okay Giannis Giannis No, no, no.
[1:58:25] Speaker 3: He wasn't first to know.
[1:58:26] Speaker 2: In his last two weeks, who was guaranteed first team?
[1:58:30] Speaker 2: I mean, you put Cade. Luka and Cade, right? So
[1:58:35] Speaker 2: Luka and Cade is out, which means Jalen Brown. There's
[1:58:38] Speaker 2: nothing a lot. Yeah, Jalen Brown. And who else would
[1:58:42] Speaker 2: have been there?
[1:58:43] Speaker 3: Is it Brunson? They saying. Well, SGA's in there for sure.
[1:58:45] Speaker 3: They saying Jamal Murray. Over Brunson? First team. So you're
[1:58:51] Speaker 3: moving up.
[1:58:51] Speaker 2: So you move up Jalen Brown and probably Brunson.
[1:58:54] Speaker 3: As first team. Right?
[1:58:57] Speaker 2: And then second team will be.
[1:59:00] Speaker 3: No, maybe Donovan. Oh, Donovan. Oh, Donovan Mitchell? Yeah, yeah. Okay, Donovan.
[1:59:04] Speaker 2: So now like Cat.
[1:59:05] Speaker 3: Cat?
[1:59:07] Speaker 6: Kawhi is going to be second team.
[1:59:10] Speaker 3: Kawhi.
[1:59:11] Speaker 2: Oh, Kawhi could make first team or second team. So
[1:59:13] Speaker 2: it would be Kawhi.
[1:59:15] Speaker 3: Oh, Devin Booker. Remember guys, we haven't even talked about it.
[1:59:18] Speaker 2: KD?
[1:59:19] Speaker 3: I mean second or third. KD? KD's moving there. KD? Second. 25?
[1:59:25] Speaker 3: Low key, second. Low key, he could be second. He
[1:59:27] Speaker 3: could be second team.
[1:59:28] Speaker 2: This is going to be one of those times where
[1:59:30] Speaker 2: there's going to be some borderline guy that's been a
[1:59:32] Speaker 2: veteran and they're just going to give it to him
[1:59:33] Speaker 2: so they don't give it to somebody else.
[1:59:35] Speaker 3: That's going to activate. I think they should. Jalen Johnson?
[1:59:39] Speaker 3: Let them make it. From the Hawks? 13. LaMelo?
[1:59:43] Speaker 2: Hey, LaMelo might make it. LaMelo ball?
[1:59:45] Speaker 1: Good.
[1:59:46] Speaker 3: Yeah.
[1:59:47] Speaker 2: If they get into the eighth seed.
[1:59:51] Speaker 4: Oh, yeah.
[1:59:51] Speaker 3: If they get into the eighth seed. If he touches six-five.
[1:59:56] Speaker 3: Think about all those spots. No Bron, no Curry. They
[2:00:01] Speaker 3: normally make it like a third team or something, so
[2:00:03] Speaker 3: they ain't in that. These are just projections. Ant-Man is
[2:00:06] Speaker 3: out too, right? Yeah, Ant-Man.
[2:00:07] Speaker 5: First team, you got SGA, Jokic, Jalen Brown, Wimby. But
[2:00:11] Speaker 5: Luka's obviously not in the mix now. He's gone. So
[2:00:15] Speaker 5: Jalen Johnson was projected to make second team. You got Maxie,
[2:00:17] Speaker 5: Donovan Mitchell, Kawhi, obviously Jalen Brunson.
[2:00:21] Speaker 1: Now you got Jalen Dern, Durant, Towns. Towns and who
[2:00:24] Speaker 1: else would it be?
[2:00:26] Speaker 3: Shane Goode. Okay. After all this shit, Shane Goode like, bitch,
[2:00:30] Speaker 3: I'm in here. I told y'all. I told y'all this
[2:00:32] Speaker 3: was my shit. Potentially Jamal Murray. Now, here it is.
[2:00:35] Speaker 3: Is he a free agent this year?
[2:00:37] Speaker 2: Who?
[2:00:37] Speaker 3: Jamal Murray.
[2:00:37] Speaker 1: You will hate if he's an all-NBA player.
[2:00:52] Speaker 2: This year or next year? Because he unlocked.
[2:00:55] Speaker 1: No, he's locked up until 28, 29.
[2:00:57] Speaker 3: Okay, so you good.
[2:00:58] Speaker 1: Give it to him.
[2:01:02] Speaker 3: Oh, Booker going to be in there now? Devin Booker?
[2:01:05] Speaker 2: I mean, most likely they'll just give it to older
[2:01:09] Speaker 2: players who made it that wouldn't have made it.
[2:01:10] Speaker 3: Give it to the cats. Give it to people like that.
[2:01:13] Speaker 3: Devin Booker having 26?
[2:01:14] Speaker 5: Yeah.
[2:01:14] Speaker 3: He need one more game to make the– he got 64. Yeah,
[2:01:17] Speaker 3: he could get in there. He wasn't going to make
[2:01:19] Speaker 3: it at all, though. Really? Really? You don't hear about it.
[2:01:22] Speaker 3: I don't hear about it.
[2:01:23] Speaker 2: That's what I'm saying.
[2:01:24] Speaker 3: Oh, I would have never thought he was down to 26.
[2:01:26] Speaker 3: Because he didn't make the All-Star team.
[2:01:28] Speaker 1: The Suns are playing well. That's a good place for
[2:01:31] Speaker 1: us to wrap up.
[2:01:32] Speaker 3: Whoa, whoa, whoa. We done? Yeah. Wait, hold on. Hold on.
[2:01:36] Speaker 3: Hold on, Joe. Hold on, Joe. Hold up. Hold on
[2:01:40] Speaker 3: a minute.
[2:01:40] Speaker 6: Jesus.
[2:01:41] Speaker 3: What do you mean? Wait, wait. Hold on, Joe. Hold on.
[2:01:44] Speaker 1: I'm a Jehovah's Witness.
[2:01:46] Speaker 3: Happy birthday to you. Happy birthday to you.
[2:01:51] Speaker 2: Oh, shit.
[2:01:51] Speaker 1: Happy birthday to me.
[2:01:55] Speaker 3: Thank you.
[2:02:00] Speaker 6: Happy birthday to you.
[2:02:03] Speaker 3: I don't want it to fall. If we could get
[2:02:05] Speaker 3: the camera on it.
[2:02:07] Speaker 1: Happy birthday to the number.
[2:02:11] Speaker 3: One host of all. I appreciate all y'all. Happy birthday
[2:02:14] Speaker 3: to the number one host.
[2:02:15] Speaker 2: Oh, you tried to sneak that in here. Turn that
[2:02:19] Speaker 2: hat back around.
[2:02:19] Speaker 3: You didn't want that. That's the birthday hat. That is
[2:02:22] Speaker 3: the birthday hat.
[2:02:22] Speaker 1: This is a tough crowd.
[2:02:24] Speaker 3: Oh, that tough crowd made you a happy birthday, merely
[2:02:26] Speaker 3: a host's birthday? This is a regular time.
[2:02:33] Speaker 1: I bless everybody in the chat. Thank you to our
[2:02:37] Speaker 1: crew for blessing me with this lovely cake and brewing colors.
