SUBURBAKNIGHT: Act One Walter Knope is having a bad week. His antique store is bankrupt. The bank has locked him out. His house is now filled with everything he couldn't sell. His teenage daughter thinks he's embarrassing, his marriage has seen better days, and Walter is beginning to suspect middle age may just be a long series of humiliations ending in death. Then Richard Sarandon moves in across the street. Richard is rich, handsome, charming and spectacularly confident. The neighborhood women can't stop looking at him. The husbands barely notice. Walter notices everything. Especially the two body bags carried out of Richard's house in the middle of the night. Then Walter sees Richard do something no human being should be able to do. Written by Nick Bannister, SUBURBAKNIGHT is a wicked suburban horror-comedy about marriage, jealousy, masculinity and the nightmare of discovering that the impossibly perfect man next door may actually be a monster. Walter calls the police. They find nothing. Richard smiles. Walter looks insane. Then comes the neighborhood party. Pool. Booze. Barbecue. Husbands watching football. Wives watching Richard. With help from Andy, his beer-bellied neighbor and resident horror-movie expert, Walter finally puts a name to what moved in across the street. An incubus. A demon that seduces women and feeds on their life force. Now Richard knows Walter is onto him. Walter knows Richard wants Samantha. And the fight Walter thought was about his pride, his marriage and his rapidly collapsing life is about to become something much worse. Luckily, Walter's house is currently filled with swords, crossbows, armor and medieval weapons nobody wanted to buy. Maybe the antique business wasn't such a bad idea after all. Starring Darin Toonder, Jim O'Heir, Jade Tailor, Jack Daniel, Rob Fitzgerald, Logan Laurel, Emily Brolin, Ashley Platz, and Zeke Alton. [7:58] Speaker 2: He struggles to hold the landline received to his ears.
[8:00] Speaker 2: The cable is stretched to its limit.
[8:02] Speaker 3: Hay aye, you're home early, Walter. One second, yes, missus Brewster,

[8:35] Speaker 2: haired and dressed to the toe in shades of black
[8:37] Speaker 2: and gray, pulls the phone cord like a rope towards her,
[8:40] Speaker 2: while her father struggles to talk into it as it
[8:42] Speaker 2: runs away from his face.
[8:44] Speaker 4: Dad, I need the phone.
[8:46] Speaker 2: He covers the receiver.
[8:47] Speaker 5: I need to make this sale.

[8:50] Speaker 3: Sorry, missus Brewster, I missus Brewster, could you hold on
[8:54] Speaker 3: one second?
[8:55] Speaker 2: Sam follows Walter into the kitchen. She finds a medieval
[8:58] Speaker 2: mace on her kitchen counter and holds it up quizzically.
[9:01] Speaker 5: How did that get there?
[9:03] Speaker 3: That should be an ancient curier, not mid century kitchen appliances.
[9:06] Speaker 2: He laughs to himself. No one else is amused. Mia
[9:10] Speaker 2: tugs on the phone cord. Walter tug's back.
[9:12] Speaker 3: Oh Dad, missus Brewster, can I can I call you back?
[9:16] Speaker 5: And just one Hello? It's dead.
[9:20] Speaker 2: Mia tugs the phone free of his grasp. She holds
[9:23] Speaker 2: it to her ear as she leaves.
[9:24] Speaker 5: Two hours.
[9:25] Speaker 3: I was the phone with her for a fifty dollars sale, Walter,

[9:31] Speaker 2: Walter? Size you noticed?
[9:33] Speaker 5: Huh?
[9:34] Speaker 4: Notice Walter?
[9:36] Speaker 3: The bank foreclosed on the shop. If I didn't take
[9:38] Speaker 3: some of the inventory, they Sam gets it.
[9:41] Speaker 7: Your dad's shop.
[9:43] Speaker 2: Walter struggles for words.

[9:47] Speaker 2: Yeah, don't let it happen. I'm sorry.
[9:50] Speaker 5: Apologies.
[9:50] Speaker 2: Walter struggles for words.
[9:53] Speaker 3: I just couldn't let them board it off like some
[9:55] Speaker 3: common thrifts Walter.
[9:58] Speaker 2: Sam moves closer to Walter.
[10:00] Speaker 7: It's just a bunch of junk, Babe.
[10:02] Speaker 1: Your dad wouldn't want you to be burdened with his Okay,
[10:06] Speaker 1: you don't have to carry.
[10:08] Speaker 7: It for him.
[10:08] Speaker 5: No, no, it's not I'm not carrying it for him.
[10:12] Speaker 5: This was him. I can't.
[10:14] Speaker 1: She sighs, all right, until you can get the shop again.
[10:20] Speaker 1: Until then, just make me a promise, anything, Promise me
[10:25] Speaker 1: you'll keep this fucking thing out of my kitchen.
[10:28] Speaker 2: Sam thrusts the mason Walter's arms. He doesn't expect the weight,
[10:31] Speaker 2: and it drops to the floor, him along with it.
[10:34] Speaker 2: Poor interior Walter's house bedroom night, Walter sits up right
[10:38] Speaker 2: awake besides a sleeping Sam. He looks up from his
[10:41] Speaker 2: stack of invoices and checks the clock on the bedside table,
[10:45] Speaker 2: two thirty. He sighs. He looks over it. Sam. He
[10:49] Speaker 2: brushes a strand of hair off her sleeping face and
[10:51] Speaker 2: notices the romance novel The One with a Hunky Sailor.
[10:55] Speaker 2: Walter picks it up and examines it.
[10:57] Speaker 5: Hmm.
[10:58] Speaker 2: He moves to get out of bed. Interior Walter's House, bathroom, night,
[11:03] Speaker 2: Walter flips the light on. He leans into the mirror
[11:06] Speaker 2: and takes a hard look at the person looking back
[11:08] Speaker 2: at him. He runs his hands over his face, stretches
[11:11] Speaker 2: the skin, looks at the bags under his eyes, his
[11:13] Speaker 2: receding hairline damage control. He takes his shirt off. He
[11:18] Speaker 2: looks at his chest, sucks in his gut, tries to
[11:21] Speaker 2: show off his dad bod. But it ain't what it
[11:23] Speaker 2: used to be. He pulls his pants open and looks
[11:26] Speaker 2: at his dick.
[11:32] Speaker 3: This is all make believe people, just an actor playing
[11:36] Speaker 3: a role. That's all that's happening here.
[11:40] Speaker 2: We call on what we know, I guess. He lets
[11:43] Speaker 2: his gut loose and shakes his head in disgust. Walter
[11:46] Speaker 2: sighs and flips the light off. Interior Walter's House, living room, Night.
[11:51] Speaker 2: Walter navigates all the junk and finds a cardboard box
[11:53] Speaker 2: labeled let's get Medieval on their asses. He rolls his eyes,
[11:58] Speaker 2: me uh. He drops the heavy mat into the cardboard box.
[12:01] Speaker 2: He turns and takes it all in. He takes a
[12:04] Speaker 2: deep breath, exhales fuck. Interior, Walter's House, Living Room, Night.
[12:11] Speaker 2: Walter collapses into his desk's chair. He taps on the
[12:14] Speaker 2: desk for a second before he grabs the TV remote
[12:16] Speaker 2: and flips on an even older model TV than the
[12:18] Speaker 2: one upstairs.
[12:20] Speaker 4: Do you suffer from a rectile dysfunction? Decreased libido, sudden
[12:24] Speaker 4: mood swings? Try Viagara?
[12:27] Speaker 2: Walter shuts off the TV. Interior Walter's House, living Room, Night.
[12:31] Speaker 2: Walter is asleep at his desk, drooling on a stack
[12:34] Speaker 2: of bills, just checking. Lightning flashes outside the window, then thunder.
[12:44] Speaker 2: A woman screams, Oh, that did something in my body.
[12:54] Speaker 2: Walter wakes with a start. He gets his bearings confused.
[12:57] Speaker 2: He goes to the window and looks out, searching for
[13:00] Speaker 2: the screen. It rains hard. The rest of the neighborhood
[13:03] Speaker 2: is quiet, except for the house across the street. Two
[13:06] Speaker 2: women in raincoats load furniture from inside the house into
[13:09] Speaker 2: an unmarked truck. Walter leans forward gets a closer look
[13:14] Speaker 2: what the After the furniture is loaded, the figures carry
[13:17] Speaker 2: out what looks like two body bags. Lightning strikes again
[13:21] Speaker 2: reveals a third figure who wears a dark coat and
[13:24] Speaker 2: sticks to the shadows. The figure yanks out the for
[13:27] Speaker 2: sale sign in the yard and tosses it into the
[13:29] Speaker 2: bag of a truck. The figure senses he's being watched
[13:33] Speaker 2: and looks right at Walter. Shit. Walter quickly shuts the curtains.
[13:37] Speaker 2: He chuckles to himself at how silly he's being. He
[13:40] Speaker 2: steals one last glance back at the dark house, still
[13:43] Speaker 2: unsure of what he saw. Exterior Walter's house. Day, Walter
[13:48] Speaker 2: exits the house carrying a handmade yard sign. It reads
[13:52] Speaker 2: Walter's Antiques and Curio Open. The paper boy rides by
[13:56] Speaker 2: and knocks over the sign with a well thrown newspaper.
[13:59] Speaker 2: Hey Walter looks over and sees his neighbor Andy early thirties,
[14:03] Speaker 2: a large manchild that wears an old bands shirt stretched
[14:06] Speaker 2: over his beer belly, waves and walks over.
[14:09] Speaker 4: Morning Walt.
[14:10] Speaker 5: Morning Andy.
[14:11] Speaker 2: Walter watches as a construction crew works on the stripped
[14:14] Speaker 2: down house across the street.
[14:16] Speaker 5: New neighbors. I guess the Maitland's finally caved.
[14:19] Speaker 2: Walter thinks, you know, it's weird, though they moved out
[14:22] Speaker 2: in a big hurry last night in the rain.
[14:26] Speaker 5: I never even saw the Maitland's leave.
[14:28] Speaker 4: You know what else is weird?
[14:29] Speaker 7: I've been bourping up with tastes like spinach all day.
[14:31] Speaker 2: I don't think I've had spinach, and like, I don't
[14:33] Speaker 2: know what. Just then, a trio of pastel colored joggers
[14:39] Speaker 2: Nancy forties, Diane forties, and Karen thirties jogged by the men.
[14:43] Speaker 2: They're all very attractive, clad head to toe an active

[14:52] Speaker 2: They jog on what An expensive car roars down the street,
[14:57] Speaker 2: pulls into the driveway of the stripped down house across
[14:59] Speaker 2: the way. Everyone turns to the expensive sounding engine. Time
[15:04] Speaker 2: slows down. The car door opens, and outsteps Richard Surrandon forties,
[15:09] Speaker 2: very handsome in dress pants and a white dress shirt
[15:12] Speaker 2: with several top buttons undone to reveal his chiseled chest.
[15:16] Speaker 2: All very fashionable and expensive. He throws on his blazer
[15:20] Speaker 2: like a runway model. Still in slow motion, Andy and
[15:23] Speaker 2: Walter's mouths hangopen. The jogger's all slow in turn, jogging
[15:27] Speaker 2: backwards to get a better view. Diane trips and hits
[15:31] Speaker 2: the ground bolts back up awkwardly.
[15:34] Speaker 7: Who is that?
[15:36] Speaker 2: That is?
[15:38] Speaker 4: Om man?
[15:42] Speaker 2: Richard sees the group watching him and waves. He excuses
[15:45] Speaker 2: himself and crosses the street.
[15:47] Speaker 5: Oh god, he's coming over. Okay, just keep smiling.
[15:50] Speaker 8: I thought i'd introduce myself. Richard, Richard Sarandon Walter.
[15:56] Speaker 5: This one's Andy.
[15:57] Speaker 2: Richard extends his hand for a handshake, but before Walter
[15:59] Speaker 2: can shake it, Diane dervines and puts her fingertips in
[16:02] Speaker 2: Richard's hand.
[16:04] Speaker 7: Chante, oh.
[16:13] Speaker 4: Don't, oh my.
[16:19] Speaker 2: Richard kisses her hand. Diane giggles. Whoa, that was awesome?
[16:27] Speaker 4: What did he say? I have no idea?
[16:30] Speaker 2: Walter clears his throat.
[16:32] Speaker 3: So why, I guess we have you to thank for
[16:33] Speaker 3: getting rid of that old eyesore? How did you manage
[16:36] Speaker 3: you get the maitlands to sell?
[16:38] Speaker 4: I wanted it, so I bought it.
[16:40] Speaker 2: Richard glares at Diane, and I always get what I want.
[16:46] Speaker 2: The other women fan themselves.
[16:48] Speaker 4: Which reminds me.
[16:49] Speaker 8: Next weekend, everyone in the neighborhood is invited for a
[16:52] Speaker 8: little get together at the house, food, drinks, entertainment next
[16:57] Speaker 8: weekend with the house, I'll be.
[16:59] Speaker 4: There, delightful.
