[2:15] Speaker 1: flight and come with me to Cape Town. It's going
[2:17] Speaker 1: to be an amazing time. So let's get into the
[2:20] Speaker 1: episode for today. I had someone DM me something that
[2:24] Speaker 1: a few people have asked me about, and it's actually
[2:27] Speaker 1: on my list of topics that I've been wanting to
[2:29] Speaker 1: talk about on the podcast. So I said, why not.
[2:31] Speaker 1: So I'm not going to, of course say her name.
[2:33] Speaker 1: I don't know she's even comfortable. I'm just gonna make
[2:36] Speaker 1: it anonymous, right, So this is what I got DM.
[2:39] Speaker 1: Just really a couple days ago. So one of my
[2:41] Speaker 1: followers DM me, and she says, hi, Amani, my name
[2:45] Speaker 1: is so and so, and I really enjoy your YouTube videos.
[2:48] Speaker 1: They have truly blessed me. Can you do a video
[2:51] Speaker 1: on why should we pray specific prayers? Thank you, and
[2:55] Speaker 1: I hope you see this DM. Have a blessed night.
[2:57] Speaker 1: Well girl. I saw the DM okay, and I definitely
[3:01] Speaker 1: want to talk about this because I am so huge
[3:04] Speaker 1: on praying very specific prayers. This is something that has
[3:09] Speaker 1: really shaped my faith and has been a tool to
[3:12] Speaker 1: really grow my faith when it comes to just my
[3:15] Speaker 1: personal relationship with the Lord, learning to trust him, just
[3:20] Speaker 1: all these different things. The way that I have one
[3:22] Speaker 1: tool that I have really learned or used to mature
[3:25] Speaker 1: my faith is praying specific prayers. We all know that
[3:29] Speaker 1: a Christian's prayer life is one of the most important
[3:32] Speaker 1: aspects of your relationship with Christ. I mean, it's literally
[3:35] Speaker 1: how we talk to Him, and it's there's such a
[3:38] Speaker 1: huge emphasis on it. Of course, your church will tell
[3:41] Speaker 1: you to pray, and the Word tells you to pray,
[3:45] Speaker 1: and it's just something that we do out of obedience,
[3:47] Speaker 1: But there is so much more to prayer, and the
[3:50] Speaker 1: way that you pray really matters. I just recently learned
[3:55] Speaker 1: that there are even prayer methods. In the last two
[3:59] Speaker 1: to three years, I thought that you could just get
[4:02] Speaker 1: on a hotline and tell God what you want. You
[4:04] Speaker 1: know what I mean, and you can. That's definitely how
[4:07] Speaker 1: it starts out for a lot of us. But as
[4:10] Speaker 1: you mature and as you grow and as you learn,
[4:12] Speaker 1: your prayers should be shaped a specific way. For example,
[4:16] Speaker 1: my church that I attend right now, we have corporate
[4:19] Speaker 1: prayer with our church every morning on Zoom, and there
[4:22] Speaker 1: is a very specific structure to how we pray together
[4:25] Speaker 1: as a church family. We always start with Thanksgiving, right,
[4:29] Speaker 1: because the Word tells us enter his courts with thanksgiving,
[4:32] Speaker 1: and well, let me pull up the verse. I want
[4:35] Speaker 1: to make sure I'm saying it right. Some one hundred
[4:37] Speaker 1: and four says enter into his gates with thanksgiving and
[4:40] Speaker 1: into his courts with praise. And the more you research prayer,
[4:44] Speaker 1: you will come upon different types of prayer. I remember
[4:46] Speaker 1: when I was visiting a church a few years ago,
[4:49] Speaker 1: they had a prayer vigil and they were teaching the
[4:52] Speaker 1: different methods of prayer, and one thing that they said
[4:55] Speaker 1: was reciting scripture in your prayer is not only a
[4:59] Speaker 1: tool that you can use to help you remember prayer
[5:01] Speaker 1: and like the Word says, to hide it in your heart,
[5:04] Speaker 1: but also it gives meaning to your prayer. You understand
[5:08] Speaker 1: that this is what I'm asking the Lord, and I
[5:10] Speaker 1: can find this in scripture to support this, and you're
[5:13] Speaker 1: kind of bringing the Lord's promises back to him. So
[5:15] Speaker 1: there are all different types of ways that you can pray, right,
[5:18] Speaker 1: But for me, I have seen my faith grow the
[5:22] Speaker 1: most by very specific prayer. So I'll give you an
[5:24] Speaker 1: example of a specific prayer. When I allow the Lord
[5:27] Speaker 1: to take over my podcast and my YouTube as well.
[5:32] Speaker 1: I really wanted to see growth in my YouTube. Some
[5:36] Speaker 1: people might see that as a petty prayer, a selfish
[5:39] Speaker 1: peer prayer. Oh why would God care about if you
[5:42] Speaker 1: hit fifty k, if you hit one hundred k, if
[5:44] Speaker 1: your YouTube girls, Why would God care about that? There
[5:47] Speaker 1: are bigger things. They are bigger fish to fry, you know.
[5:50] Speaker 1: And that's the attitude of the type of person who
[5:53] Speaker 1: does not want to pray specific prayers because they think
[5:58] Speaker 1: that the specificities of their life the Lord does not
[6:00] Speaker 1: care about, or that they're not important enough to pray about.
[6:04] Speaker 1: So I have always been taught just by being in church.
[6:08] Speaker 1: I've always been taught when I was little in Sunday School,
[6:11] Speaker 1: you can pray to the Lord about anything, And in
[6:14] Speaker 1: my young mind I'm internalizing that as Okay, Well, if
[6:19] Speaker 1: I want extra lunch money, I can pray to the
[6:21] Speaker 1: Lord for that. As I get older, I pray for
[6:25] Speaker 1: parking spots, I pray when I lose my keys and
[6:28] Speaker 1: I'm running late, and I'm like, Lord, please help me
[6:30] Speaker 1: find my keys, And then I find my keys. So
[6:33] Speaker 1: I pray for very little things because the Lord does
[6:36] Speaker 1: not just care about the big things. He doesn't just
[6:38] Speaker 1: care about who you marry, he doesn't just care about
[6:41] Speaker 1: your career. He cares about the everyday things. And when
[6:44] Speaker 1: you start to realize that the longer goal of your
[6:48] Speaker 1: relationship with the Lord, to mature, to know more about him,
[6:50] Speaker 1: to know more about your purpose, is built on the
[6:54] Speaker 1: every day, you start to realize the small things is
[6:57] Speaker 1: what makes up the big or the small things are
[6:59] Speaker 1: what make up the bigger things. Right, So I peryed
[7:03] Speaker 1: and I was like, God, I really want my YouTube
[7:05] Speaker 1: to grow because I think I was at that time
[7:07] Speaker 1: making most of my money off of TikTok, and I
[7:10] Speaker 1: really didn't like that. I really didn't like that all
[7:12] Speaker 1: of my money as a content creator was coming from
[7:14] Speaker 1: one place, because it allows instability to grow when you
[7:18] Speaker 1: only have one source of income, what if that source
[7:20] Speaker 1: shuts down? You know, we had a TikTok shut down.
[7:23] Speaker 1: I mean it only lasted like five hours, but people
[7:26] Speaker 1: were really scared about it because TikTok was their only
[7:28] Speaker 1: source of income. TikTok shop or the Creator Fund was
[7:32] Speaker 1: how they were making their money. They were not making
[7:33] Speaker 1: their money off of Instagram, Facebook, YouTube. And I just
[7:37] Speaker 1: really wanted to be more of a YouTube GIRLI like,
[7:39] Speaker 1: you know, I didn't really have some profound reason. I
[7:41] Speaker 1: didn't like that all my money came from one source.
[7:43] Speaker 1: And I just thought that YouTube was just cooler. I
[7:45] Speaker 1: like longer form content. I like having a community that
[7:49] Speaker 1: knows more about my life than thirty second snippets of
[7:51] Speaker 1: about where I shop, you know what I mean. So,
[7:54] Speaker 1: and I had wanted that for years. I actually got
[7:56] Speaker 1: my start in content creation off of YouTube. You know,
[7:59] Speaker 1: a lot of people don't even know that I did
[8:01] Speaker 1: not start on TikTok. I start off of YouTube, like
[8:04] Speaker 1: in twenty fourteen, twenty fifteen, something like that. So I
[8:08] Speaker 1: really just always wanted to go back to YouTube. And
[8:10] Speaker 1: I was like, Lord, please drow my YouTube, and he did.
[8:15] Speaker 1: I asked him to hit one hundred k, and he
[8:17] Speaker 1: made that happen. And this is why I say that
[8:20] Speaker 1: very specific and what others may call a petty or
[8:23] Speaker 1: a small prayer have really helped shape my faith and
[8:27] Speaker 1: grow my faith with the Lord because when we have
[8:30] Speaker 1: these very specific things that we are asking the Lord
[8:33] Speaker 1: to meet, Right, if I say, Lord, I need help
[8:36] Speaker 1: with A, B and C. When I pray specifically like that,
[8:40] Speaker 1: I have to wait for the Lord to show up
[8:42] Speaker 1: in these very specific ways. I have to check off
[8:44] Speaker 1: these boxes so that I can know that the Lord
[8:48] Speaker 1: showed up. Right, if I would have just prayed a
[8:50] Speaker 1: more general prayer, if I would have been like, Lord,
[8:53] Speaker 1: just give me success in my career, well, what does
[8:57] Speaker 1: success in your career look like? Success in your career
[9:00] Speaker 1: can look like you just having a career. A lot
[9:02] Speaker 1: of people don't have a career. And I could just pray, Lord,
[9:06] Speaker 1: whatever your will is, just give me success in my career.
[9:09] Speaker 1: Is that a correct prayer? Yes, we pray and we
[9:12] Speaker 1: ask God for his will in all things, and we
[9:14] Speaker 1: accept what the Lord will give us. But there is
[9:18] Speaker 1: nothing wrong with saying, Lord, I want this. There's nothing
[9:22] Speaker 1: wrong with that. Actually, the Lord invites us to be
[9:26] Speaker 1: very specific with him. He invites us to test him
[9:31] Speaker 1: to be honest with you. So when I see the
[9:34] Speaker 1: Lord show up in these very specific ways that I
[9:37] Speaker 1: am able to look back on and say check, check, check,
[9:39] Speaker 1: the Lord has done these things. Not only does that
[9:43] Speaker 1: build my trust in him, because when the trust is
[9:46] Speaker 1: built on the smaller things, now I trust him for
[9:49] Speaker 1: the larger things. But also it helps me to give
[9:52] Speaker 1: him the glory for all things, because if I pray
[9:55] Speaker 1: for a B and C and the Lord did a
[9:58] Speaker 1: B and C, I cannot call that a ca. You know,
[10:01] Speaker 1: the word tells us that every good and perfect gift
[10:03] Speaker 1: comes from above, But oftentimes we don't really trust that.
[10:06] Speaker 1: We don't believe that. We think that a lot of
[10:08] Speaker 1: things come from us. We think that they come from circumstance,
[10:11] Speaker 1: from coincidence. There is nothing coincidental in our lives, whether
[10:14] Speaker 1: it be about God or the enemy. Everything is very
[10:19] Speaker 1: there's a plan, there is a path for you. Everything
[10:22] Speaker 1: is very methodical. Like I said, whether it comes from
[10:24] Speaker 1: the Lord or the enemy, whatever the Lord wants to
[10:27] Speaker 1: build up, that's the thing that the devil wants to
[10:28] Speaker 1: break down. So I have just learned that for me,
[10:32] Speaker 1: I've just and I've said this a million times, like
[10:34] Speaker 1: I'm just not a words of affirmation person. I don't
[10:36] Speaker 1: care what you say to me. I gotta see something,
[10:38] Speaker 1: Like people have to show me that I can trust them. Right,
[10:42] Speaker 1: For example, my husband. When I met him, I didn't
[10:44] Speaker 1: just trust him off the bat. I didn't be like, oh, yeah,
[10:47] Speaker 1: I trust that you will be a good husband, let's
[10:49] Speaker 1: get married tomorrow. No, it took come a year to
[10:52] Speaker 1: convince me that I could trust him. Right, And that's
[10:55] Speaker 1: the relationship that the Lord invites us to because he
[11:00] Speaker 1: knows on some level that he has to earn our
[11:02] Speaker 1: trust and stay with me when I say this, right,
[11:07] Speaker 1: we are not counted as righteous, but by our trust
[11:10] Speaker 1: in the Lord. We're counted as righteous by our faith.
[11:13] Speaker 1: And faith does not necessarily need trust. You can have
[11:19] Speaker 1: faith in the situation, but the trust grows over time,
[11:22] Speaker 1: like when we talk about Abraham. Right, the Lord counted
[11:25] Speaker 1: his righteousness from Abraham's faith. But we know that Abraham
[11:29] Speaker 1: didn't always trust God. We can see that he didn't
[11:32] Speaker 1: trust God when he had Ishmael, before he had Isaac,
[11:35] Speaker 1: the Lord told him, trust me, I will give you
[11:37] Speaker 1: these things, and he still took matters into his own
[11:39] Speaker 1: hands and send just to have a son. The Lord
[11:42] Speaker 1: told him that he was going to give him a son. Right.
[11:44] Speaker 1: But when the years got passed, and the years went past,
[11:47] Speaker 1: and the years went past, Abraham stopped trusting God, and
[11:49] Speaker 1: he took matters into his own hands and had Isaac
[11:52] Speaker 1: whenever Abraham and Sarah traveled. Abraham did not trust God
[11:56] Speaker 1: to protect him against the king, and that's why he
[11:59] Speaker 1: lied and said, oh, Sarah is my sister. He didn't
[12:02] Speaker 1: say that Sarah was his wife, that was his wife.
[12:05] Speaker 1: He opened his wife up to potentially be sexually assaulted
[12:08] Speaker 1: by kings because he thought, oh, Sarah, so beautiful. If
[12:11] Speaker 1: we go to these foreign places and they don't even
[12:14] Speaker 1: know who God is, they'll take you and they'll kill me.
[12:17] Speaker 1: He did not trust God to protect him. He could
[12:19] Speaker 1: have prayed and been like, Lord, protect me and my
[12:21] Speaker 1: wife while we travel. He didn't say that. Once again,
[12:24] Speaker 1: he took matters into his own hands because he truly
[12:26] Speaker 1: did not trust the Lord. Mind you, these instances were
[12:30] Speaker 1: after the Lord counted Abraham as righteous because of his faith.
[12:35] Speaker 1: So our relationship with God, it needs faith, but the
[12:39] Speaker 1: trust that we have with him is built over time.
[12:42] Speaker 1: Because even with those two scenarios with Abraham, Abraham sinned
[12:47] Speaker 1: to get what he wanted because he didn't trust God.
[12:49] Speaker 1: But God and his faithfulness still gave Abraham what he wanted.
[12:52] Speaker 1: God could have been like, oh you didn't want to
[12:55] Speaker 1: wait for me for a son. Ishmael is your son,
[12:57] Speaker 1: then go have fun dealing with that baby, Mama and
[13:00] Speaker 1: your wife. God could have really did that. God could
[13:03] Speaker 1: have been like, oh, you don't trust me to protect
[13:05] Speaker 1: you and Sarah okay, Syah's is not the King's wife.
[13:10] Speaker 1: That's what you wanted, right. The Lord could really leave
[13:13] Speaker 1: us to our own devices and choices and decisions. Every
[13:17] Speaker 1: single time we decide not to trust him. But he
[13:19] Speaker 1: is so faithful and he loves us so much that
[13:22] Speaker 1: he knows that we're going to fail in our trust
[13:24] Speaker 1: with him, and he is willing to prove himself over
[13:28] Speaker 1: and over again to us to build that trust. And
[13:31] Speaker 1: for me, the way that I have been able to
[13:33] Speaker 1: build trust in my relationship with the Lord is by
[13:37] Speaker 1: asking him, Lord, I need or I want ex y
[13:41] Speaker 1: and Z and watching him work it out every single time.
[13:45] Speaker 1: But if you pray these general prayers because you think
[13:48] Speaker 1: that your everyday life is not significant to the Lord,
[13:51] Speaker 1: if you pray prayers like not saying that these prayers
[13:54] Speaker 1: are wrong, but you can pray prayers like Lord and
[13:58] Speaker 1: hunger and rural life. UK, Lord, please save the people
[14:04] Speaker 1: of Tanzania. You can pray those prayers. Are they wrong? No?
[14:09] Speaker 1: But while you're asking the Lord to in hunger in
[14:13] Speaker 1: the countryside of the UK, well, are you gonna go
[14:17] Speaker 1: in two to three years and go check if the
[14:19] Speaker 1: UK government has enacted some kind of program to make
[14:22] Speaker 1: sure all their citizens eat? Are you going to actually
[14:24] Speaker 1: check in on that? How do you know that that
[14:26] Speaker 1: prayer is getting answered? You can pray for all the
[14:30] Speaker 1: widows and orphans in Tanzania to be taken care of,
[14:32] Speaker 1: but are you gonna take that missionary trip to go
[14:34] Speaker 1: to Tanzania in five years and make sure that all
[14:36] Speaker 1: the widows and orphans are taken care of? Probably not?
[14:39] Speaker 1: So how are you really fact checking your prayers? How
[14:42] Speaker 1: are you growing that trust that the Lord hears my
[14:45] Speaker 1: prayers and are answering them? Which is really a huge
[14:48] Speaker 1: part of our relationship with God is when we talk
[14:50] Speaker 1: to him and we see how he's working things out
[14:54] Speaker 1: on our behalf. Are you fact checking? Are you gonna
[14:57] Speaker 1: go to Tanzania? Are you gonna go to rule UK?
[14:59] Speaker 1: You probably aren't. So it's okay to pray these very general,
[15:05] Speaker 1: nonspecific grand prayers about ending world hunger and world peace
[15:10] Speaker 1: and all these things. But unless you are really able
[15:13] Speaker 1: to see what's going on, how do you ever go
[15:17] Speaker 1: back and how are you ever able to go back
[15:19] Speaker 1: and say, oh, the Lord worked in this way. For example,
[15:22] Speaker 1: I can pray for my sister to be saved, and
[15:26] Speaker 1: because I know my sister and I see my sister,
[15:29] Speaker 1: I can see if she's been saved. I can pray
[15:32] Speaker 1: for ten thousand dollars to be in my bank account
[15:34] Speaker 1: for a certain project that I want to do, and
[15:36] Speaker 1: I can visibly see if the Lord puts ten thousand
[15:39] Speaker 1: dollars in that bank account. But when you're not specific
[15:42] Speaker 1: enough in your prayers and you're very general, it's almost
[15:44] Speaker 1: like a cop out. It's almost like you being able
[15:47] Speaker 1: to say, oh, I pray to my prayer for the day,
[15:49] Speaker 1: but you never really get to see the Lord work
[15:52] Speaker 1: in very specific ways in your life. And I think
[15:55] Speaker 1: people who are afraid to be very specific in their
[15:58] Speaker 1: prayers just really don't trust the Lord. That's what it
[16:00] Speaker 1: all comes down to. They don't really trust what the
[16:04] Speaker 1: Word says. When the Word and the Lord and the
[16:07] Speaker 1: Bible is telling us test me. You know. One of
[16:12] Speaker 1: my favorite versus in the Bible, because one thing that
[16:17] Speaker 1: people when we talk about trusting the Lord and being
[16:20] Speaker 1: very specific. One thing that people tend to not trust
[16:24] Speaker 1: the Lord in this area of their life is their finances.
[16:27] Speaker 1: And me and my husband were just literally just talking
[16:29] Speaker 1: about this, like literally just last night, about tithing, about
[16:33] Speaker 1: how a lot of people don't truly tithe. They will
[16:36] Speaker 1: come to church on Sunday and they'll give Oh, I
[16:39] Speaker 1: got an extra twenty in my pocketbook. They don't truly
[16:41] Speaker 1: even tithe. They don't give an offering. And let me
[16:45] Speaker 1: just say this too, when the Lord commands us to
[16:48] Speaker 1: give tithe and offering, and I will, you know, bring
[16:51] Speaker 1: up verses to support this when he commands us to
[16:53] Speaker 1: give tithe and offering. If you are not really giving
[16:57] Speaker 1: tithe and offering every single time the Lord gives you
[16:59] Speaker 1: an income, then you're not being obedient, even if you're
[17:03] Speaker 1: somebody that's not Oh you know, I don't just put
[17:05] Speaker 1: twenty in the offering play. No, when I get paid,
[17:07] Speaker 1: I really do give the Lord a tenth? Do you
[17:09] Speaker 1: give a tenth every single time? This isn't judgment, It's
[17:13] Speaker 1: really a time of self reflection because one thing that
[17:16] Speaker 1: I've had to learn about in my relationship with God
[17:19] Speaker 1: is full obedience is not half obedience, or or not
[17:24] Speaker 1: being fully obedient does not count as half obedience. It
[17:28] Speaker 1: counts as full of disobedience. There is no middle ground
[17:33] Speaker 1: with the Lord. You think that you're able to kind
[17:35] Speaker 1: of like sit back and chill and be like, well,
[17:37] Speaker 1: I didn't sin today because I didn't lie, and I
[17:39] Speaker 1: didn't cheat, and I didn't steal, and I didn't murder.
[17:41] Speaker 1: But did you do what the Holy Spirit told you
[17:43] Speaker 1: to do? Oh? No, okay, well that's still a sin.
[17:47] Speaker 1: The Word tells us to him who knows to do
[17:49] Speaker 1: right and does not do it to him, it is
[17:51] Speaker 1: a sin. So there can be very personal sins outside
[17:55] Speaker 1: of the Ten commandments, and we think, oh, I didn't
[17:57] Speaker 1: kill nobody today, so I'm good. Did you read your
[18:00] Speaker 1: Bible today? Did you acknowledge the Lord and what he
[18:03] Speaker 1: gave you today? When the Holy Spirit told you not
[18:06] Speaker 1: to say that, did you listen or did you continue
[18:08] Speaker 1: to say it because it felt good to you. So
[18:11] Speaker 1: there are a lot of things that we feel like, oh,
[18:14] Speaker 1: I'm chilling when it comes with God. You know, I'll
[18:16] Speaker 1: give a twenty here and there, But that's not true obedience.
[18:19] Speaker 1: I had to learn from myself that if I'm not
[18:21] Speaker 1: willing to fully do exactly what God tells me to
[18:24] Speaker 1: do when he tells me to do it, I'm in disobedience.
[18:29] Speaker 1: You only make two choices on any matter. Trust God
[18:34] Speaker 1: and do what God tells you, or you're gonna do
[18:36] Speaker 1: what the devil tells you to do. There is no
[18:38] Speaker 1: in between, y'all. And I think when you take it
[18:40] Speaker 1: that seriously, you'll start to take your relationship with obedience
[18:44] Speaker 1: way more seriously because you cannot count. Once again, you
[18:47] Speaker 1: cannot count a half obedience as some obedience. No half
[18:51] Speaker 1: obedience is full disobedience. You can do what God tells
[18:54] Speaker 1: you to do, but if you do it a year
[18:56] Speaker 1: after He told you to do it, that's disobedience you
[18:59] Speaker 1: can give, but if you're not giving the full amount,
[19:01] Speaker 1: that's disobedience. So you know, one of my favorite verses
[19:06] Speaker 1: on trusting God with your finances comes from Malachi. Let's
[19:10] Speaker 1: start in Malachi chapter three, verse eight, and I read
[19:14] Speaker 1: from the New King James version. Malachi three eight says,
[19:17] Speaker 1: will a man rob God? Yet you have robbed me?
[19:21] Speaker 1: And this is the Lord speaking, But you say, in
[19:24] Speaker 1: what way have we robbed you? In tides and offerings
[19:28] Speaker 1: you are cursed with a curse, for you have robbed
[19:31] Speaker 1: me even this whole nation. Bring all the tides into
[19:35] Speaker 1: the storehouse, that there may be food in my house.
[19:38] Speaker 1: And try me now. In this, says the Lord of Hosts.
[19:41] Speaker 1: If I will not open up for you the windows
[19:43] Speaker 1: of heaven and pour out for you such blessing that
[19:46] Speaker 1: there will not be room enough to receive it, the
[19:49] Speaker 1: Lord in chapter or in verse ten says, try me now.
[19:53] Speaker 1: In this, the Lord is literally saying, test me. In this,
[19:57] Speaker 1: try me, try me, try me, and see what I
[20:00] Speaker 1: would do for you. See, a lot of people don't
[20:02] Speaker 1: trust God enough to try him, and that's why they
[20:04] Speaker 1: won't pray specific prayers. They don't want to test God
[20:08] Speaker 1: because they're afraid that they'll be let down or that
[20:10] Speaker 1: God will not hear them. Or they'll tell people the
[20:14] Speaker 1: Lord told me this, and then it doesn't happen and
[20:17] Speaker 1: they feel like, oh, you know, I did something wrong.
[20:21] Speaker 1: The Lord is telling you try me, and this test me.
[20:24] Speaker 1: It's okay for you to test the Lord, But how
[20:27] Speaker 1: do you ever test him if you're not specific when
[20:29] Speaker 1: you talk to him? Because like I said, you can
[20:31] Speaker 1: pray a big prayer. Oh Lord, please save everybody in
[20:35] Speaker 1: my city. But if you aren't going to check up
[20:38] Speaker 1: on the people in your city, how do you know
[20:39] Speaker 1: that they're being saved? If you aren't even the person
[20:42] Speaker 1: going out and evangelizing, how are you even praying a
[20:45] Speaker 1: prayer asking God to do something? And we know that
[20:47] Speaker 1: the Lord uses us to reach the nation. The Lord
[20:51] Speaker 1: uses Oh, we are the Lord's hands and feet, and
[20:53] Speaker 1: you are not the one evangelizing to these people. You know,
[20:56] Speaker 1: we want to be able to kind of coast on. Oh,
[20:59] Speaker 1: I pray, I spoke to the Lord, spoke to the
[21:02] Speaker 1: Lord about what spoke to the Lord about what? So
[21:07] Speaker 1: for me a huge building block and maturing in my
[21:11] Speaker 1: faith and maturity goes hand in hand with trusting God
[21:15] Speaker 1: because you disobey because you don't trust them. That's really
[21:19] Speaker 1: what it is. You don't trust that if you tithe,
[21:21] Speaker 1: that He will open up for you the windows of
[21:23] Speaker 1: heaven and pour out such blessing that there will not
[21:25] Speaker 1: be enough room to receive it. You don't believe that,
[21:27] Speaker 1: so you don't tithe. You think, oh, well, if I
[21:31] Speaker 1: tie this between giving money to the church or giving
[21:34] Speaker 1: money to my bills, and my bills got to get paid.
[21:36] Speaker 1: So I just can't tie this week. That ain't it? Sorry,
[21:39] Speaker 1: that's not it. Dog. And when I was younger and
[21:41] Speaker 1: I would read about the prophets like Elijah, right and
[21:44] Speaker 1: during that battle of the priests of Oh, what's that
[21:48] Speaker 1: woman's name, Jezebel, and it was that battle against Okay,
[21:54] Speaker 1: is your God going to cause the fire to come down?
[21:56] Speaker 1: Or is my God going to And you know, just
[21:59] Speaker 1: at different times that the prophets would say things and
[22:01] Speaker 1: they will come to pass. And I was thinking, Okay,
[22:03] Speaker 1: either the Lord is telling these prophets to say these
[22:06] Speaker 1: things and that's why it's happening, or they are really
[22:09] Speaker 1: saying these things and the Lord is doing it. And
[22:11] Speaker 1: I'm like, how can they tell the Lord what to do?
[22:13] Speaker 1: Because sometimes it'd be very you know, things like when
[22:17] Speaker 1: Elisha when those kids were making fun of him and
[22:20] Speaker 1: then the beyar came and ate the kids. I'm like,
[22:22] Speaker 1: what in the world, you know? And it took me
[22:25] Speaker 1: a while to realize the Lord is honoring what these
[22:28] Speaker 1: men are saying, because they're honoring the Lord with their life.
[22:31] Speaker 1: You know, the Lord doesn't honor what we say sometimes
[22:35] Speaker 1: because we haven't submitted that thing to him. The Lord
[22:38] Speaker 1: honors who honors him. So when elisha is saying, Lord,
[22:42] Speaker 1: make the fire come down and burn up this sacrifice
[22:44] Speaker 1: so that these people will know that you are the Lord,
[22:48] Speaker 1: the Lord's getting the glory out of that. He is
[22:49] Speaker 1: going to honor what Elishah is saying. So I've just
[22:52] Speaker 1: come to realize that in my own life, as long
[22:56] Speaker 1: as I know that whatever I'm praying for, God is
[22:58] Speaker 1: going to get the glory out of it, that this
[23:01] Speaker 1: is not intrinsically just for my benefit, just so that
[23:05] Speaker 1: I can feel good about this thing. Because there are
[23:07] Speaker 1: things that we pray for and we pray out of
[23:09] Speaker 1: alignment and will never get it because God never, That's
[23:13] Speaker 1: not in God's will. You know, we pray for selfish reasons.
[23:18] Speaker 1: We use it for the flesh, you know, just different
[23:22] Speaker 1: reasons that the Lord won't honor what you say. But
[23:24] Speaker 1: I've truly come to realize there are a lot of
[23:27] Speaker 1: things that I have prayed about specifically that I have
[23:30] Speaker 1: seen to come past because I know that I honor
[23:33] Speaker 1: the Lord with my life. Do you know that you
[23:36] Speaker 1: honor the Lord with your life? Can you honestly say
[23:40] Speaker 1: I know that the Lord hears me, and that what
[23:43] Speaker 1: I want I am praying for in alignment with him,
[23:46] Speaker 1: because everything I do, I do it to the glory
[23:48] Speaker 1: of Him. The Bible tells us whether you eat or drink,
[23:51] Speaker 1: do it to the glory of God. Am I in
[23:53] Speaker 1: full obedience or in disobedience? So definitely this is time
[23:59] Speaker 1: of reflection for all of us, myself included, when it
[24:02] Speaker 1: comes to how am I actually living my life? Am
[24:05] Speaker 1: I able to be specific? Am I able to trust
[24:08] Speaker 1: that God is going to do what I asked when
[24:10] Speaker 1: I'm praying specifically because I truly am living my life
[24:13] Speaker 1: for him. You know, you can be specific all you want,
[24:16] Speaker 1: but if you have not submitted that thing to the Lord,
[24:19] Speaker 1: you're not going to see it happen. When I talked
[24:21] Speaker 1: about my YouTube, I was okay with praying a very
[24:24] Speaker 1: specific prayer about one hundred k because I had already
[24:27] Speaker 1: submitted my entire YouTube to the Lord and I didn't
[24:29] Speaker 1: care who didn't like it. I didn't care who was
[24:31] Speaker 1: talking bad about me on TikTok because my podcast got
[24:33] Speaker 1: turned around. I was still going to talk about God.
[24:35] Speaker 1: That was proof of me submitting my podcast to God.
[24:38] Speaker 1: So I was okay being like God, I want to
[24:41] Speaker 1: hit God. I want to hit one hundred K because
[24:44] Speaker 1: I had proven to myself and to God that this
[24:47] Speaker 1: was not about Amani anymore. It was all about him.
[24:49] Speaker 1: I was okay with praying about the very specific way
[24:53] Speaker 1: I wanted to meet my husband because it took some time,
[24:56] Speaker 1: but growing in my relationship with the Lord, I came
[25:00] Speaker 1: to realize what marriage is, what a godly marriage is,
[25:03] Speaker 1: what my marriage will be, what the Lord wants my
[25:07] Speaker 1: marriage to be, and to come into alignment with that.
[25:09] Speaker 1: So it's all about being in alignment with God and
[25:12] Speaker 1: really being honest with yourself. Have I given this thing
[25:15] Speaker 1: to God? Have I truly submitted it to him? And
[25:17] Speaker 1: once you can, honestly, for real, for real sit down
[25:20] Speaker 1: with yourself, and the answer to that question is yes.
[25:23] Speaker 1: Go ahead and be specific because the Lord will honor
[25:26] Speaker 1: your words when you honor him. All right, you guys,
[25:29] Speaker 1: So I will talk to you guys next week. Love
[25:33] Speaker 1: you be very specific with your relationship with God because
[25:36] Speaker 1: He is going to be very specific with you. All right,
[25:39] Speaker 1: talk to you later. Bye,
