[0:13] Speaker 1: Oh Silver, a ferry horse for the speed of light,
[0:21] Speaker 1: a cloud of dust, and a hardy hull Silver, A
[0:24] Speaker 1: lone ranger.
[1:00] Speaker 2: At aussa a something, as.
[2:02] Speaker 3: With his faithful Indian companion, Toto, the masked Rider of
[2:05] Speaker 3: the Plains, led the fight for law and order in
[2:07] Speaker 3: the early Western United States. The stories of his strength
[2:11] Speaker 3: and courage, his daring and resourcefulness, have come down to
[2:14] Speaker 3: us through the generations, and nowhere in the pages of
[2:17] Speaker 3: history can one find a greater champion of justice. Return
[2:21] Speaker 3: with us now of those thrilling days of yesteryear from
[2:24] Speaker 3: out of the past, and the thundering hoof beats of
[2:26] Speaker 3: the great horse Silver, the.
[2:28] Speaker 4: Lone Ranger rides again, Oh Silver, Let's go be w
[2:32] Speaker 4: o Silver.
[2:49] Speaker 3: A gusty wind swept across the Missouri River and drove
[2:52] Speaker 3: a cold and slanting rain on the sodden town of
[2:54] Speaker 3: Willow Landing. Totto, faithful Indian companion of the Lone Ranger,
[2:59] Speaker 3: made his carefully through the darkness of a narrow, twisting street.
[3:03] Speaker 3: Suddenly he sensed, rather than saw, the figures of two
[3:07] Speaker 3: men struggling on the wooden sidewalk a few yards ahead.
[3:10] Speaker 3: A moment later, the sound of a weak cry made
[3:12] Speaker 3: him drop the sack he was carrying and rush forward.
[3:15] Speaker 4: You're not going yeah, yeah, you're not doing that for
[3:18] Speaker 4: a fiction.
[3:22] Speaker 5: An engine, a meddling red skinner.
[3:25] Speaker 4: No, you not learn first time. I'll be back.
[3:31] Speaker 5: You hurt?
[3:34] Speaker 6: He used life, I'm not important, But no, I guess
[3:40] Speaker 6: there's no use trying to tell an engine you would understand.
[3:45] Speaker 5: Tonto, friend, he helped. You looked like good Indian, but
[3:54] Speaker 5: that the same honor him?
[3:55] Speaker 6: Come back, No use, I'm afraid if I move, you
[4:00] Speaker 6: want carry you?
[4:03] Speaker 5: Carry you right. Here's where he fell. I don't see anything.
[4:09] Speaker 7: I tell you.
[4:10] Speaker 5: This is where it happened. And the redskin fun of
[4:12] Speaker 5: the in and it's god, that's impossible. He fell over
[4:16] Speaker 5: like a stuck hole and nothing here now except this.
[4:19] Speaker 5: What's that seck full of bacon beans? And the engine
[4:22] Speaker 5: must have been carrying. How do I care about a redskin?
[4:25] Speaker 5: He spotted this spencer change. You were supposed to drop him.
[4:27] Speaker 5: I did, but he got up and walked away. He's
[4:30] Speaker 5: still carrying enough evidence to hang all of us. The
[4:33] Speaker 5: only thing to do now is get the boys together
[4:34] Speaker 5: down at the landing. Keep our ears caught for a whistle.
[4:38] Speaker 5: There's some people was in. Maybe it's the engine. Maybe
[4:40] Speaker 5: he helps Spencer get up, trail them, get a horse
[4:42] Speaker 5: and trail them. How can I trail him? How can
[4:45] Speaker 5: you trail anything? In a strange.
[4:46] Speaker 4: Tone like this?
[4:48] Speaker 5: A sign? Ride? All right? Go down to the warehouse
[4:50] Speaker 5: and tell everybody to keep their ears and eyes open. Yeah,
[4:52] Speaker 5: you can do that, can't you? Sure?
[4:54] Speaker 4: Get a move on?
[5:07] Speaker 3: Toto set out an easy pace, mindful of the wounded
[5:10] Speaker 3: man he carried in the saddle. The storm abated gradually,
[5:13] Speaker 3: and before long, as the two men rode out into
[5:15] Speaker 3: the open country, the sky cleared. Realizing that the wounded
[5:19] Speaker 3: man needed to mediate attention, Tatter urged scout into a
[5:22] Speaker 3: faster pace. Within a short time, he arrived at the camp,
[5:25] Speaker 3: which he shared with the moon ranger.
[5:29] Speaker 4: Most count.
[5:33] Speaker 5: A storm was pretty bad too. And don't blame you
[5:36] Speaker 5: for wedding in town until you what's that fellow in fight?
[5:39] Speaker 5: He murt, band, Let me bring him here, Let me
[5:42] Speaker 5: help you lift him. Let's carry him over near the fire.
[5:46] Speaker 5: How did it happen? Who is he? Eh? He'll rest
[5:50] Speaker 5: easy on the blanket, He not knowing he's together for us? Knife?
[5:53] Speaker 5: And where have you brought me? Life? Till man.
[5:56] Speaker 6: You see how badly you're hurt. Oh, you're worrying mask.
[6:01] Speaker 6: So you double crossed me.
[6:02] Speaker 5: Didn't you?
[6:03] Speaker 6: Engine No, no, me, not double cross. Yes, I didn't
[6:07] Speaker 6: take me to a friend, not another outlaw.
[6:10] Speaker 5: You are among friends, but you're wounded, so you better
[6:13] Speaker 5: save your strength. Not try to talk.
[6:16] Speaker 6: I've heard his side won't last very long, maybe even
[6:22] Speaker 6: an outlaw like you. Take it off your cuttry easy,
[6:26] Speaker 6: take it easy on my pocket, Look in my pocket?
[6:32] Speaker 5: You mean this packet with this one? Please? Please?
[6:36] Speaker 6: I'm bagging you take it to Linda May on the river.
[6:41] Speaker 6: Does that stand?
[6:42] Speaker 5: Yes? Don't worry, I'll do it.
[6:45] Speaker 6: Listen, listen for another whistle like like this little brass
[6:50] Speaker 6: whistle tied to the packet.
[6:51] Speaker 5: Yes.
[6:52] Speaker 6: Oh, but but watch out, watch out for Jesse Flynn.
[6:57] Speaker 5: He fella die has tanto, he's gone else in his
[7:07] Speaker 5: daybreak comes you take his body into the corner. It
[7:09] Speaker 5: will a landing. Ah. And what do you think fella's
[7:12] Speaker 5: name is? Any way of finding out? Unless I wait
[7:16] Speaker 5: a minute. It's packet wrapped in oil skin with a
[7:18] Speaker 5: little brass whistle tied to it. MM. I can understand
[7:24] Speaker 5: now why he wanted these papers delivered. It all costs
[7:27] Speaker 5: what them say. The first one is a letter. It's
[7:30] Speaker 5: addressed to the President of the United States. Oh that
[7:33] Speaker 5: plenty important, says dear mister President. As commissioned, I have
[7:38] Speaker 5: conducted a thorough investigation of the illegal traffic and firearms
[7:43] Speaker 5: and alcohol. They're out the territory. The attached folio contains
[7:49] Speaker 5: documentary proof of the guilt of the men involved. I'm
[7:53] Speaker 5: sure my identity is known to these men. Therefore I
[7:57] Speaker 5: will meet missus Merrill of our department. It will allow
[8:02] Speaker 5: respect for yours. Signed George Spencer, special Agent. That mean
[8:07] Speaker 5: dead color lawman. It's more than that, Tunno. He was
[8:11] Speaker 5: the President's special agent. And the girl he spoke of,
[8:16] Speaker 5: Linda may must be the miss Merrill referred to in
[8:19] Speaker 5: this letter. And where we find her? Oh, he said,
[8:22] Speaker 5: on the river and to listen for another whistle like
[8:25] Speaker 5: this one hunter or not servy, neither do I. They
[8:32] Speaker 5: were going to be at Willow Landing tomorrow morning and
[8:35] Speaker 5: do some investigating.
[8:48] Speaker 3: All that night, several men, ever on the alert, moved
[8:51] Speaker 3: up and down the river front. At Willow Landing, a
[8:54] Speaker 3: heavy fog hung over the river, but the hunt for Spencer,
[8:57] Speaker 3: whose death was still unknown went on unceasingly. It was
[9:01] Speaker 3: dawn when Jesse Flynn, who waited in the waterfront warehouse
[9:04] Speaker 3: for his men to bring in Spencer, looked up as
[9:07] Speaker 3: one of the men entered.
[9:09] Speaker 4: Hey, boshy you doing.
[9:12] Speaker 5: Here at the warehouse? Didn't I tell you? And the
[9:14] Speaker 5: rest of the boys.
[9:15] Speaker 8: Yeah, we've been strung out along the river all night.
[9:18] Speaker 8: Nothing's happened. Aren't sent me up to tell you?
[9:20] Speaker 5: And stay there and keep your ears open, all of you.
[9:23] Speaker 5: It's Spencer Ombree got away from us once. It can't
[9:26] Speaker 5: happen again.
[9:26] Speaker 8: Yeah, but it's tough to spot something when you don't
[9:29] Speaker 8: know what you're listening. Some kind of a whistle. Every
[9:31] Speaker 8: boat tied up the landing's got a whistle on it.
[9:34] Speaker 8: How are we going to.
[9:35] Speaker 5: Not that kind? It must be something that's small enough
[9:37] Speaker 5: to carry, or else we'd have heard that. The sons,
[9:40] Speaker 5: the folks. I just so I care about sun or
[9:42] Speaker 5: river fog. All you Onbrey's are supposed to stay down
[9:45] Speaker 5: there at the landing, not run up here with weather reports.
[9:47] Speaker 5: I know, just and you ought to know this much.
[9:49] Speaker 5: A federal lawman is going to meet somebody at the landing.
[9:51] Speaker 5: Now we've got to stop them. And that's more than
[9:54] Speaker 5: you did last night. Oh the muddle headed woo when
[9:57] Speaker 5: you lessen know what I'm trying to tell you. The
[10:00] Speaker 5: one that stepped in last night, I just saw him again, now, Redskin,
[10:04] Speaker 5: what do you mean? He was leading a couple of
[10:06] Speaker 5: saddle horses along the river bank. I know it's the
[10:08] Speaker 5: same engine again, horses. What's that got to do with Spence?
[10:10] Speaker 5: Then he meets a tall gent that wears a black mask.
[10:13] Speaker 5: Of all the local story's eye advertarsity. The fog was
[10:16] Speaker 5: pretty thick, but I could see that every once in
[10:18] Speaker 5: a while a mask armry would stop and blow a whistle.
[10:20] Speaker 5: What must be Spencer alone. He's taller than Spencer, but
[10:24] Speaker 5: he should loan the whistle. He's a critter. We're looking for.
[10:26] Speaker 5: Where the rest of the boy they're waiting down there.
[10:28] Speaker 5: I couldn't figure it out, so I thought I'd better
[10:30] Speaker 5: come up here first. We're wasting time. Come out both the.
[10:42] Speaker 3: Meanwhile, the lone ranger in Tonto arrived at Willow Landing,
[10:45] Speaker 3: a short distance from the river. They stopped, and the
[10:48] Speaker 3: masked rider of the planes took the little brass whistle
[10:50] Speaker 3: which he had received from the dying government agent from
[10:53] Speaker 3: his pocket.
[10:54] Speaker 5: At frequent intervals, he blew it.
[10:56] Speaker 3: Both he and Tonto listened intently for a response, but
[10:59] Speaker 3: hearing finally.
[11:03] Speaker 5: No luck so far, Tana, I'll try again. Ah uh.
[11:12] Speaker 5: Spencer mentioned Linda May the river and listen for another whistle.
[11:16] Speaker 5: I thought, uh, oh, must be wrong. Oh where do
[11:23] Speaker 5: you think maybe other whistle come from? I don't know, Tanno,
[11:27] Speaker 5: or at least a dozen boats tied up down there
[11:29] Speaker 5: at the landing. Maybe Linda May was supposed to meet
[11:32] Speaker 5: Spencer here. Then go aboard a boat any silver? But
[11:36] Speaker 5: you not? Fine girl?
[11:38] Speaker 3: What we do?
[11:38] Speaker 5: Going to try the whistle again at closer range, right
[11:41] Speaker 5: down to the landing near those warehouses.
[11:43] Speaker 9: Home on s must come, don't go away?
[12:04] Speaker 5: See river plenty good? Now ask how to traveler is?
[12:07] Speaker 5: We don't know exactly what we're looking for unless k
[12:16] Speaker 5: it's happy you hear it? Yes? Hi? Wait a minute, mhm,
[12:26] Speaker 5: where it's come from? I think it's from some one
[12:28] Speaker 5: aboard that's stern Reler at the end of the landing.
[12:30] Speaker 5: We'll ride down there and see look, big kang you
[12:37] Speaker 5: comet and they aren't. I think we can get away.
[12:40] Speaker 5: Headed for the boat down there, count the gang planks
[12:52] Speaker 5: Downstay what tonation say?
[12:54] Speaker 7: I hear?
[12:56] Speaker 5: I the captain of this plankte.
[12:57] Speaker 4: The captain and owner. I don't like mass credits.
[12:59] Speaker 5: We got to I'm here on a special mission in
[13:01] Speaker 5: the United States government.
[13:02] Speaker 4: I have to so you know, the jasman has kept
[13:04] Speaker 4: me tied up here. We're over tam miles.
[13:06] Speaker 5: Do you say so?
[13:06] Speaker 4: Say who's in that pack of lead slinging hyen? He's
[13:09] Speaker 4: chasing you?
[13:09] Speaker 5: Having the slightest idea plan, I've been paid for.
[13:11] Speaker 4: The job and I might as well go through with it.
[13:13] Speaker 10: Mister Mazie, check that pang plank. We're gonna hit the channel.
[13:18] Speaker 5: Wait a minute, my friend and our horses travel with me. Hello,
[13:22] Speaker 5: bring the horses the board.
[13:23] Speaker 4: Hurry causes there was nothing in my agree.
[13:25] Speaker 5: No show off, captain. We'll have to stand and fight BASI.
[13:28] Speaker 4: Check that plank and cast off. I'm going up to
[13:32] Speaker 4: the wheelhouse. Well that's Jesse Flynn. Was he the gent
[13:40] Speaker 4: who was chasing it?
[13:41] Speaker 5: Yes, Flynn.
[13:41] Speaker 4: Why he's one of the biggest shippers on the river.
[13:43] Speaker 5: I've got you better go on up to the wheelhouse,
[13:45] Speaker 5: captain and swing this boat in the mid channel.
[13:47] Speaker 10: I don't all right, mister Mazie, if you can dodge
[13:51] Speaker 10: the lad that's flying around here, show this mask flitter
[13:54] Speaker 10: through the capital while that young lady's waiting.
[14:04] Speaker 5: Go on the way, Captain, I'll carry this.
[14:06] Speaker 11: Take the horses back of that stack of cord with
[14:08] Speaker 11: a ton of hands. That's what you think.
[14:36] Speaker 3: The curtain falls on the first act of our Lone
[14:38] Speaker 3: Ranger story. Before the next exciting scenes, please permit us
[14:42] Speaker 3: to pause for just a few moments now to continue
[15:43] Speaker 3: our story. As the Lone Ranger stood on the riverboats
[15:46] Speaker 3: lower deck and traded lad with Jesse Lynch and his
[15:48] Speaker 3: gun slingers, Captain Wilke swung the craft toward the mid
[15:51] Speaker 3: channel and pointed a bow downstream.
[15:53] Speaker 1: Hold it, boy, hold it well, he's gotta tie that
[15:56] Speaker 1: tub up at Jackson's Cove.
[15:58] Speaker 5: We'll meet him there.
[15:59] Speaker 4: Get some horses out.
[16:18] Speaker 5: Our silver s got alright, they didn't get hit.
[16:21] Speaker 3: No, I have penny room for horses other side of
[16:23] Speaker 3: wood stack.
[16:24] Speaker 5: Good. Why the fight wasn't it. I've never seen anyone
[16:27] Speaker 5: faster than you with a pair of guns. Oh yeh,
[16:28] Speaker 5: mister Macy, the mate, I first mate, engineer the whole
[16:31] Speaker 5: crew again, we'd already shipped the cargo of cord with
[16:34] Speaker 5: for Jackson's Cove before Miss m uh before the young
[16:37] Speaker 5: lady hired the captain to wait for you. I see
[16:40] Speaker 5: she must have heard all the shooting or stayed in
[16:42] Speaker 5: her cabin for safety. Say you wish to see announcer? Ah, yes,
[16:45] Speaker 5: by all means? Follow me. Oh, by the way, how
[16:48] Speaker 5: far is Jackson's Cold from here? Just a few miles
[16:50] Speaker 5: down river. We'll put in there in less than an hour. Maybe.
[16:54] Speaker 5: Here we are. This is the young Lady's cabin.
[17:01] Speaker 12: Oh, Jack, I heard the shooting, but I thought it mister.
[17:04] Speaker 5: Oh, I think this is the gentleman you've been waiting.
[17:06] Speaker 4: For mask for You're not?
[17:08] Speaker 5: I mean, did uh you blow the whistle I heard
[17:11] Speaker 5: on the shore a few minutes ago.
[17:12] Speaker 13: I don't see any necessity for the mask. I'll ask
[17:16] Speaker 13: you the same question.
[17:17] Speaker 5: And I'll answer it this way. I hear see this whistle.
[17:21] Speaker 12: Oh, thank Heaven. For a moment, I wasn't sure who
[17:24] Speaker 12: you were. Won't you come in?
[17:26] Speaker 5: Thank you?
[17:27] Speaker 12: I I'll see you later.
[17:29] Speaker 5: Jack. Sure, I'll stalk up the boiler and come back.
[17:34] Speaker 5: You have the package, Yes, I.
[17:35] Speaker 13: Do, give it to me, and you might as well
[17:37] Speaker 13: take off the mask. No one will see you here.
[17:39] Speaker 5: Well, that's true, but i'd rather lay my mask on.
[17:42] Speaker 12: Well, what are you waiting for?
[17:43] Speaker 5: Give me the package in just a moment. First, I'd
[17:47] Speaker 5: like to see the mate to this little brass whistle
[17:49] Speaker 5: I have right here.
[17:50] Speaker 13: On the chain around my neck. I'll even blow it
[17:52] Speaker 13: for you.
[17:54] Speaker 5: Gooden. I'm convinced you're the proper person to receive this package.
[17:59] Speaker 5: Thanks well, miss Linda May.
[18:01] Speaker 12: But I'm not.
[18:03] Speaker 13: Seal has been broken on this letter to the President.
[18:05] Speaker 13: How did that happen?
[18:06] Speaker 5: It was necessary?
[18:07] Speaker 12: Hmm. Put these papers in my bag and now put
[18:11] Speaker 12: up your.
[18:11] Speaker 5: Hands in the face of your gun. There's nothing else
[18:14] Speaker 5: I can do.
[18:16] Speaker 12: And I'll use it too if you try to lower
[18:18] Speaker 12: your hands.
[18:18] Speaker 5: I don't doubt it.
[18:20] Speaker 13: Thought you were clever, didn't you? A masked outlaw posing
[18:23] Speaker 13: is George Spencer.
[18:24] Speaker 5: I've only tried to help to keep a promise I
[18:26] Speaker 5: made to mister Spencer.
[18:27] Speaker 12: That's a lie. If George had sent you here, you
[18:29] Speaker 12: would have called me by my right name. For your information,
[18:32] Speaker 12: it's Faith Merrill. Linda May is the name of the
[18:35] Speaker 12: boat we're on.
[18:36] Speaker 5: Well, that's a natural mistake, but I'm sorry I made it.
[18:40] Speaker 13: I knew something was wrong the minute I saw you
[18:41] Speaker 13: wearing a mask. None of the agents in our department
[18:44] Speaker 13: ever used that kind of a disguise, and you.
[18:46] Speaker 5: Too, are a special agent of the government in Washington.
[18:48] Speaker 12: Certainly, where's George Spencer?
[18:52] Speaker 5: He's uh, he's dead.
[18:54] Speaker 12: That's true, you killed him.
[18:56] Speaker 5: No, I'm sure Spencer was murdered in Willa Landing last
[18:59] Speaker 5: night by some of the men mentioned in those affidavits,
[19:01] Speaker 5: Jesse Flynn or Art Dixon. They have a fretting company
[19:04] Speaker 5: and will a landing. Yes, I know they must have
[19:06] Speaker 5: heard my whistle in your answer just before I came aboard.
[19:09] Speaker 5: They were the men who were shooting at me.
[19:10] Speaker 13: We'll find out the truth when Captain Wilkes lands at
[19:13] Speaker 13: Jackson's Cove.
[19:14] Speaker 12: I'll see the.
[19:14] Speaker 5: Sheriff, Heren and Dixon will be waiting at Jackson's Cove.
[19:17] Speaker 5: That's the last thing Captain Wilke should do. If you
[19:19] Speaker 5: intend to reach Washington with those papers.
[19:21] Speaker 12: Naturally you'd say that grabbing jack he's an.
[19:25] Speaker 5: I'm sorry, Faith, I'll have to take that gun.
[19:29] Speaker 4: What happened?
[19:30] Speaker 5: Miss Merrow forgot there was a mirror hanging on the
[19:32] Speaker 5: wall behind her. I saw you opening the door behind
[19:35] Speaker 5: my back.
[19:36] Speaker 12: Well, we're both disarmed.
[19:37] Speaker 13: I suppose you want the packet now, the government will
[19:41] Speaker 13: pay you for it.
[19:42] Speaker 12: Pay you.
[19:42] Speaker 5: Well, the only thing I'm interested in is seeing you
[19:45] Speaker 5: safely on your way to Washington.
[19:48] Speaker 12: I believe you really mean that.
[19:50] Speaker 5: I do.
[19:51] Speaker 12: But you're an outlaw.
[19:52] Speaker 4: You must quit jack Next.
[19:53] Speaker 5: Go to the wheelhouse and tell Captain Wilkes not to
[19:55] Speaker 5: put in at the next landing. I won't cut in
[19:56] Speaker 5: the ice of the old man. He's boiling mad, got
[19:59] Speaker 5: a gun in one hand and s hearing with the other.
[20:00] Speaker 5: You hired this boat, didn't you, faith Yes.
[20:02] Speaker 13: It was the only way I could meet George Spencer
[20:04] Speaker 13: secretly he knew he was being first.
[20:06] Speaker 5: Suppose you planned on taking a stage at Jackson's Cove.
[20:08] Speaker 12: That's right.
[20:09] Speaker 13: The reason Captain Wilkes agreed to take a passenger and
[20:12] Speaker 13: wait at Willow Landing was because he's shipping a cargo
[20:14] Speaker 13: of lumbered to Jackson's Cove.
[20:15] Speaker 5: Anyway, I see it must be nearing the cove now.
[20:18] Speaker 5: That personal means he's heading for sure. It's got to
[20:20] Speaker 5: keep him in mid channel some way. You have a
[20:22] Speaker 5: mallet and some large spikes in the engine room. Yeah,
[20:25] Speaker 5: I guess I'll you stay here of faith. Come on,
[20:26] Speaker 5: jack here, here are the spikes in the mallet. I
[20:43] Speaker 5: don't see how you're going to steer a boat with us,
[20:45] Speaker 5: I'm not. The idea is to keep Captain Wilkes from steering.
[20:48] Speaker 5: And those are rudder chains running along that bulkhead up there. Yeah,
[20:52] Speaker 5: they're spliced on a cable from the steering wheel. It's
[20:55] Speaker 5: something like a winch. I know, give me a left hollow.
[20:57] Speaker 5: I want to reach the chain. You mean you're gonna
[21:01] Speaker 5: nail the steering change the pulkhead at least two we
[21:03] Speaker 5: passed Jackson's cove. Eh, hell do it? Well, I'll be
[21:17] Speaker 5: wait the old man flans out about that. He'll scream
[21:19] Speaker 5: the four of us putting in there and trying to
[21:21] Speaker 5: stand off ten or twelve arms outlaws. Must have just
[21:26] Speaker 5: found it out as soon as he realizes he can'ts
[21:29] Speaker 5: to the vote either way. If he hell, here, go
[21:31] Speaker 5: up on deck were a burst of Jackson's cove. See
[21:34] Speaker 5: if there's any sign of Flinneries gang in the landing?
[21:36] Speaker 3: H do it?
[21:36] Speaker 5: You know? I still can't believe this a mask jent
[21:39] Speaker 5: like you bringing those papers to faith Maryland.
[21:43] Speaker 4: Aye? Aye, sir is wrong and the name by Jonna
[21:47] Speaker 4: med Chael.
[21:47] Speaker 10: We're slidden by the cove and I got a contract
[21:50] Speaker 10: unrolled this cargo.
[21:51] Speaker 5: Remember there, I don't I mean this jam and the
[21:53] Speaker 5: mask here he spiked the steering chains. What's that's right?
[21:56] Speaker 5: Captain Wilkes. It would be suicide for missus Merrill to
[21:59] Speaker 5: land a jack since cold he's carrying some important government papers.
[22:02] Speaker 4: That must who shares and what she's doing?
[22:04] Speaker 5: Are you either?
[22:05] Speaker 4: Linda May is my boat and this is piracy. I'll
[22:08] Speaker 4: have the Laura and Olive you for this?
[22:09] Speaker 5: Who's the ship of the cargo you have on board?
[22:11] Speaker 5: Captain Jesse Flynn?
[22:12] Speaker 4: The man you were shooting that packing willow landing.
[22:15] Speaker 10: Oh, I never should have let that girl talk me
[22:17] Speaker 10: into taking a passenger.
[22:18] Speaker 4: Now i've.
[22:21] Speaker 5: You see him on that. That's all right. We're not
[22:22] Speaker 5: putting in there.
[22:23] Speaker 4: Thirty years and all the shipping on this river.
[22:25] Speaker 10: And now you're not understand Cook's got boat biggest, this one,
[22:29] Speaker 10: them following.
[22:29] Speaker 5: You mean they've got another just put off.
[22:31] Speaker 12: I'm sure there are a lot of men on dead.
[22:39] Speaker 5: You see him? Yes, evidently mister Finn intends to overtake
[22:43] Speaker 5: us at any cost.
[22:45] Speaker 4: Well, that's jesse Flynn himself.
[22:51] Speaker 5: You haven't had a river queen, Captain. She can do
[22:53] Speaker 5: ten knots better than the May. That true, captain, that
[22:55] Speaker 5: boat faster than this one.
[22:56] Speaker 4: Well, the Queen's got a bigger baller than the Linda May.
[22:59] Speaker 5: And the smoke come out. She's burning pine nuts and turpentine.
[23:02] Speaker 12: Clim the cause of all this.
[23:03] Speaker 5: Maybe I go back in the engine room, pull those
[23:05] Speaker 5: spikes out of steering chain up to the wheelhouse. Captain.
[23:08] Speaker 5: They'll have to make a run for it.
[23:09] Speaker 10: Person, nobody but make here's harder's on the linder man.
[23:12] Speaker 5: I'll wait a minute, Channon. Look, captain, they've got a
[23:16] Speaker 5: brass five pound on the ball. How about it, Captain?
[23:27] Speaker 5: Would you rather make a run for it than be sunk? Hi?
[23:29] Speaker 4: Jonnifer that Jesse Flynn is the dirtiest.
[23:31] Speaker 5: Will the wheel I will help Jack talk the boiler.
[23:34] Speaker 5: I'll carry cordwood.
[23:35] Speaker 4: Joe will show give me every also steam she's got.
[23:38] Speaker 12: Isn't there something I can do?
[23:39] Speaker 5: Yes, you're gonna help carry would they'll need plenty of it?
[23:45] Speaker 5: Come on, he'd be safer on the other side. You'd
[23:49] Speaker 5: better go below those both kadle Hoole for a while.
[23:52] Speaker 5: I'm going to see the captain. How's it going, Captain?
[23:59] Speaker 4: I think a hole in our own now.
[24:01] Speaker 10: Flynn's river rats and his gun slingers ain't gaining on us,
[24:04] Speaker 10: not much.
[24:04] Speaker 4: Anyway.
[24:04] Speaker 5: Where's the nearest place we can land?
[24:06] Speaker 4: Potel? Five miles down river? Glynn wouldn'tdare to run us
[24:09] Speaker 4: down anywhere else near there.
[24:10] Speaker 5: Five miles is a long way we can dodge.
[24:13] Speaker 4: His killing, and then we might be able to what
[24:16] Speaker 4: what was that parlor plate? I think Jack must have
[24:19] Speaker 4: fired her too heavy, Tavin Wilkes on the place of
[24:21] Speaker 4: the boiler rooms. That's what I take it, well with
[24:25] Speaker 4: Ted Tucks.
[24:25] Speaker 5: Now, Oh it's not all gone, cap and you still
[24:27] Speaker 5: hold her half speed maybe three quarter that wrot twenty
[24:29] Speaker 5: go back to the boiler jack crow whatever you can? Sure,
[24:31] Speaker 5: anything's better the loose that's come flyinn Captain? How long
[24:34] Speaker 5: have you sailed this river?
[24:35] Speaker 4: Thirty odd years?
[24:36] Speaker 5: But now I know ever in let, every jelly, every
[24:38] Speaker 5: barn cold, don't you palm of my head? Isn't there's
[24:40] Speaker 5: something let along here you could head into and hide
[24:42] Speaker 5: there or two shallow?
[24:43] Speaker 4: Don't forget that I'm carrying.
[24:44] Speaker 5: A corner going on that. What's the draft of this boat?
[24:46] Speaker 4: About eighteen inches loaded? Like cheers?
[24:48] Speaker 5: Do you know the draft of the river Queen Finn's boat?
[24:50] Speaker 4: Sure, rider, it's twenty inches wide.
[24:52] Speaker 5: Captain, this lumber cargo belongs to Flynn. Suppose we throw
[24:56] Speaker 5: it overboard? What with the draft of the lind that
[24:57] Speaker 5: may be then.
[24:58] Speaker 4: Out an even foot? I guess right high?
[25:00] Speaker 5: That way good? I try to keep thin on your
[25:02] Speaker 5: starboard side so he can't see Tony when we start
[25:04] Speaker 5: to throw his number overboard?
[25:05] Speaker 4: What do you mean?
[25:06] Speaker 5: And when I signally used here for the nearest shallow
[25:08] Speaker 5: in that understand? Why?
[25:10] Speaker 4: Sure?
[25:10] Speaker 3: Sure?
[25:10] Speaker 10: I do?
[25:11] Speaker 5: Good? Come on, we're going to cut lashings and throw
[25:19] Speaker 5: every bit of cargo overboard.
[25:20] Speaker 7: Hurry man hold of now.
[25:40] Speaker 4: Captain Wilde fell heading harbor.
[25:44] Speaker 5: He's heading for Sorved. He over of real body, Holla.
[25:50] Speaker 5: We ride over a sandbarn. You hit it good, it worked.
[25:57] Speaker 5: I've hit a sandbar. Everything's gone.
[26:02] Speaker 12: What happened?
[26:02] Speaker 5: If we threw our cargo, or rather to Flynn's cargo overboard,
[26:06] Speaker 5: I'd cut our draft from eighteen to twelve inches.
[26:09] Speaker 12: I don't understand.
[26:10] Speaker 5: Means we sail right over a sand bar that grounded
[26:12] Speaker 5: him Oh, that's wonderful.
[26:14] Speaker 12: But this narrow river week we're on now, how'll.
[26:17] Speaker 5: We ever get back to the Missouri. Just leave that
[26:20] Speaker 5: to Captain Wilkes. He says that this is a sort
[26:22] Speaker 5: of a shoreline canal. We'll be back on the river
[26:25] Speaker 5: in less than thirty minutes. Thank Heaven, you'll be a
[26:27] Speaker 5: short heartfelt or you can border stage going east before
[26:30] Speaker 5: the day's over.
[26:30] Speaker 13: It it seems too good to be true. I thought
[26:34] Speaker 13: we need to be killed or sunk.
[26:35] Speaker 5: Or capture all over. The only problem now is for
[26:38] Speaker 5: the Sheriff's posey to get aboard the river Queen and
[26:41] Speaker 5: arrest Flynn, Dixon and their gang. I'm sure it'll be
[26:44] Speaker 5: done in short order. Flynn has no other way to
[26:46] Speaker 5: get ashore. Hell adios, come on, Well here you are,
[26:56] Speaker 5: Miss Merrill, safe and solid in Heartville.
[26:59] Speaker 12: It's hard to believe.
[27:00] Speaker 13: I don't know how I'll ever thank you, and Captain Moral.
[27:03] Speaker 10: Founderation don't thank us. There was that mass jenter in
[27:06] Speaker 10: his Indian pod that did everything that's right.
[27:08] Speaker 13: You all have, And although I can't speak officially, I'm
[27:12] Speaker 13: sure the United States government is as grateful as I am.
[27:15] Speaker 13: I'm going to tell the President everything that happened. The
[27:18] Speaker 13: only trouble is I don't know his name, the man
[27:21] Speaker 13: and the man, well, none.
[27:22] Speaker 4: Of us do. He just appeared real sudden, like this
[27:24] Speaker 4: morning that will and landon. He and the Indian.
[27:26] Speaker 10: Disappeared here as soon as I tied up, said he
[27:29] Speaker 10: was going to tell the sheriff about Jesse Flynn and
[27:31] Speaker 10: not Dixon.
[27:32] Speaker 12: There was only some way I could at least say goodbye.
[27:35] Speaker 5: Oh, I know, what are you gonna do?
[27:37] Speaker 14: Listening at.
