[0:00] Speaker 1: You watch your Boy came on stage. This is the
[0:03] Speaker 1: Bob Brothers Podcast. Today we are reviewing a movie that
[0:08] Speaker 1: just came out this past weekend called The End of
[0:14] Speaker 1: Oak Street starring uh Ann Hathaway and uh your Boy
[0:21] Speaker 1: from Star Wars. You and McGregor Tony Baker give us
[0:25] Speaker 1: the Bald Brothers review on the numbers Box Office Nerve.
[0:31] Speaker 2: Okay, so this movie opened, uh this past weekend. It
[0:36] Speaker 2: was released on Wait a minute, let me get that.
[0:41] Speaker 2: It was released on What the hell is this? Okay,
[0:47] Speaker 2: where's the release date? Anyway, just came out this past weekend. Okay,
[0:51] Speaker 2: budget of eighty five million dollars hikes, Yeah, eighty five million.
[0:55] Speaker 2: It's crazy, don't it.
[0:56] Speaker 3: Don't look that expensive, not at all.
[0:59] Speaker 1: He was a CJ.
[1:00] Speaker 2: It's a period piece, so you got to get clothing
[1:03] Speaker 2: and the houses and everything had to match the aesthetic
[1:06] Speaker 2: of nineteen eighty two. But still eighty five million dollar budget.
[1:11] Speaker 2: It had a twenty one million dollar domestic opening and
[1:14] Speaker 2: another twenty six million international for forty eight point nine
[1:19] Speaker 2: million dollar opening. Now, given theaters getting their cuts, marketing
[1:26] Speaker 2: and promotion, a movie usually has to earn two and
[1:30] Speaker 2: a half times it's budget. To be considered break even
[1:34] Speaker 2: point so eighty five million times two point five and
[1:41] Speaker 2: we're looking at twenty How you be doing this one
[1:46] Speaker 2: thirty to twelve a week two twelve fifty eighty five
[1:51] Speaker 2: times two point five.
[1:52] Speaker 1: Two point five? I was doing one point five twelve thirty.
[1:57] Speaker 2: Two thirteen is what they need to hit the break
[2:00] Speaker 2: even and then sliding the profitability with this opening that's
[2:05] Speaker 2: considered soft. Yeah, it's a soft it's a soft launch.
[2:08] Speaker 2: Twenty one million. I'm sure they was hoping for more.
[2:10] Speaker 2: It is Warner Brothers, and but this.
[2:13] Speaker 1: I don't I only heard about this movie because you
[2:16] Speaker 1: you told me. Yeah, I didn't hear a peep about that.
[2:20] Speaker 1: And I was like, Anne Hathaway got another movie coming
[2:23] Speaker 1: out this summer. She was just in the Odyssey a
[2:26] Speaker 1: few weeks ago.
[2:27] Speaker 3: She had Devil Wears Proud of two.
[2:29] Speaker 1: Dang, that's also this year. Hers and Dad like, I
[2:33] Speaker 1: don't know, I'm gonna get four movies out. Yeah, because
[2:36] Speaker 1: then dad still got.
[2:37] Speaker 2: She still got dude on the slates. She did the
[2:40] Speaker 2: drama Spider Man ot.
[2:43] Speaker 1: See, so Zen Day are gonna probably win the box office?
[2:47] Speaker 3: Oh yeah, they both already got. She already got.
[2:50] Speaker 1: Uh, spider Man, spider Man, I ain't doing gonna probably
[2:54] Speaker 1: man alone.
[2:54] Speaker 2: It's just yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. And with this so
[2:58] Speaker 2: he said it was twenty million open, twenty one.
[3:01] Speaker 3: Million over the weekend. Yeah, domestic, forty forty eight worldwide.
[3:06] Speaker 1: You considering twenty thirty percent.
[3:08] Speaker 2: Drop off, Yeah, it's gonna drop because you know, it
[3:10] Speaker 2: got a B cinema score. Cinema scores at tally where
[3:13] Speaker 2: they talked to people that left the movie, but you
[3:16] Speaker 2: give it, you know what I'm saying. So overall it's
[3:17] Speaker 2: got like a B average, which is solid, but it's
[3:19] Speaker 2: not like word of mouth. That's not a word of
[3:22] Speaker 2: mouth grade that you want, no for long legs.
[3:25] Speaker 1: Not like an obsession thing like yeah, gotta go yeah
[3:28] Speaker 1: check out the end of Oak Street.
[3:31] Speaker 2: Yeah, And even though the critics liked it, but the
[3:33] Speaker 2: audience was.
[3:34] Speaker 3: Just like it was cool.
[3:36] Speaker 1: That's how I felt it was a good Now. The
[3:38] Speaker 1: interesting thing for me is I had heard nothing about
[3:41] Speaker 1: this movie. I didn't see a trailer. You was like,
[3:43] Speaker 1: I'm gonna check out the end of Oak Street. I
[3:44] Speaker 1: was like, oh cool, I'll check it out. Yeah, we
[3:46] Speaker 1: can talk about the podcast. I ain't seen nobody talk
[3:49] Speaker 1: about it online after that, Yeah, I only saw you.
[3:53] Speaker 1: I ain't seen not a thread a trailer. I mean
[3:57] Speaker 1: literally had no idea this movie. If you didn't text me,
[4:00] Speaker 1: I would be like, yeah, man.
[4:03] Speaker 2: Because I've been hearing good things critically before before it
[4:06] Speaker 2: came out. So I was like, they're in the old
[4:08] Speaker 2: street cam and so I thought it was gonna be,
[4:11] Speaker 2: you know, do a little bit better given that it
[4:13] Speaker 2: was up against you know, the Odyssey still doing well
[4:15] Speaker 2: and Spider Man is just a vacuum. So it was
[4:17] Speaker 2: just like it might it might you know, creep up
[4:20] Speaker 2: and be like a sleeper hit for the summer, you know,
[4:23] Speaker 2: if critics like it, and then the audience is just like,
[4:27] Speaker 2: it's cool. And then they fumbled in the In the promo,
[4:31] Speaker 2: apparently they did some AI ship with the dog, the
[4:35] Speaker 2: dog Starbuck.
[4:36] Speaker 3: They had him like he was being interviewed. They said
[4:39] Speaker 3: they didn't go over well.
[4:40] Speaker 1: So I was just like, there was such an obvious
[4:42] Speaker 1: CGI with that dog scene, and I never knowiced cg Yeah,
[4:48] Speaker 1: but when the obviously if you yeah, spoilers, mcgig spoilers,
[4:53] Speaker 1: y'all big spoils. Well, actually, before we get to there,
[4:57] Speaker 1: we should tell them what the movie is so you're
[4:59] Speaker 1: not gonna watch it break break it down.
[5:00] Speaker 3: To this movie about it.
[5:02] Speaker 2: It's a it's a family and perfect on the surface,
[5:05] Speaker 2: nuclear family in the suburbs in a random city.
[5:10] Speaker 3: They never say what city in particular.
[5:13] Speaker 1: Like anywhere USA.
[5:14] Speaker 2: Basically great family that looks perfect on the surface, but
[5:17] Speaker 2: they're having issues in their marriage and so they just
[5:21] Speaker 2: live in life. And there's been these weird anomalies going on,
[5:26] Speaker 2: like these flashes. It was just like lights and like
[5:28] Speaker 2: you know, in the middle of the night, sometimes during
[5:31] Speaker 2: the day. It's just weird things going on within the neighborhood.
[5:34] Speaker 2: And one of the neighbors like, look at this plant.
[5:36] Speaker 2: You know what I'm saying. It just grew in my yard.
[5:38] Speaker 2: It wasn't here yesterday, yet this grewing today.
[5:42] Speaker 3: And so.
[5:44] Speaker 2: You know, she takes us to the library and it's
[5:46] Speaker 2: just like, yo, this looks like a plant that was
[5:47] Speaker 2: like around two hundred million years ago.
[5:50] Speaker 1: What you crazy girl for historic plant?
[5:53] Speaker 2: Yeah, And nobody's thinking, you know, none the wiser. So
[5:57] Speaker 2: and then one night, you know, there's this big lash.
[6:00] Speaker 2: It's big you know, vacuum and sound. And then when
[6:04] Speaker 2: they emerged the next day, they find that they're in
[6:09] Speaker 2: They're in Earth two hundred and fifty million years ago.
[6:13] Speaker 2: So now it's dinosaurs roaming around. Their whole neighborhood got
[6:17] Speaker 2: transported into a different era of time on Earth and
[6:21] Speaker 2: they're trapped.
[6:22] Speaker 1: Dinosaurs are just walking down your city stores, walking down.
[6:25] Speaker 1: You can't get out of the neighborhood like they quickly
[6:27] Speaker 1: tried to drive and it's like you go over here,
[6:29] Speaker 1: over a cliff, it's a chasm covered by water. Like, yeah,
[6:33] Speaker 1: you got like.
[6:33] Speaker 3: A no more road, no more.
[6:35] Speaker 2: Paved roads, it's just pure two hundred and fifty million
[6:39] Speaker 2: years ago.
[6:39] Speaker 3: Once you get to the edge of your street, Yeah,
[6:41] Speaker 3: you use chasm.
[6:43] Speaker 1: Four blocks any one way was about as far as
[6:46] Speaker 1: you could get.
[6:47] Speaker 2: That's it, and your whole shit was transported. Now it's
[6:50] Speaker 2: kind of like the Last House.
[6:52] Speaker 1: A little bit, just about to say that because the.
[6:54] Speaker 3: Power of them went out, you ain't got no power.
[6:56] Speaker 1: You just stuck in your neighborhood versus your actual So
[7:00] Speaker 1: I regig your actual neighborhood is imagine that is it? Yeah,
[7:04] Speaker 1: your subdivision is as far as you can go. And
[7:06] Speaker 1: there's t rex, birds, snakes, turtles, alligators, all the big all,
[7:13] Speaker 1: all the big night everything's big first of all.
[7:16] Speaker 3: Yeah, and they lucky it wasn't no dragonflies.
[7:19] Speaker 2: And because those were huge, big man, big swool back then,
[7:24] Speaker 2: and so so the depends just never stood a chance. Man,
[7:29] Speaker 2: you see cats in the community getting snatched up. It
[7:31] Speaker 2: was just like, so this family has to navigate on
[7:35] Speaker 2: what the hell is happening? How are we going to
[7:38] Speaker 2: survive this? And you know they still they still get
[7:41] Speaker 2: their little marital issues within this.
[7:43] Speaker 1: Can you imagine tone the family's on the verge of divorce,
[7:47] Speaker 1: the husband and wife on the verge of divorce. The
[7:49] Speaker 1: wife has written a book about leaving her husband. The
[7:52] Speaker 1: husband got laid off, been lying to the wife about it.
[7:56] Speaker 1: And they got the dinosaurs on top of marital problem.
[7:59] Speaker 1: And they still got marital problems still within.
[8:02] Speaker 2: The board and the house up to survive from big
[8:05] Speaker 2: ass dinosaurs.
[8:06] Speaker 3: They still fussing. Still, you've been drinking.
[8:08] Speaker 1: You got damn running and drinking.
[8:11] Speaker 3: You need to take a swig as well.
[8:14] Speaker 1: Just dinosaurs outside our neighbor got eaten by dinosaur birds. Yeah,
[8:20] Speaker 1: I took a swiggle whiskey two weeks ago. It's because
[8:23] Speaker 1: I was uncommondy as a man today is fully justified.
[8:27] Speaker 3: It's fully you need to get some of this hennessy.
[8:30] Speaker 2: We need to give it to the kids as well.
[8:34] Speaker 2: Might as well that we need to all be drunk
[8:37] Speaker 2: when these raptors come in here and eat us a lot. Man,
[8:40] Speaker 2: I don't want to his ship else, Man, take a swig.
[8:43] Speaker 1: Kids, kids are gonna learn today.
[8:48] Speaker 2: So the vibe in the esthetic is this will be
[8:50] Speaker 2: a nice little refresher. It's like a Steven spielberg S
[8:54] Speaker 2: type movie, you know, summer popcorn fun. How's this family
[8:57] Speaker 2: gonna get out of this? But it's a little dark
[8:59] Speaker 2: and little bit edgier than it may seem on the surface.
[9:02] Speaker 1: I thought PG thirteen movie at first.
[9:04] Speaker 3: It's not no, it's it's r o snap.
[9:08] Speaker 1: Yeah, there's a lot of blood.
[9:11] Speaker 3: I thought them PG thirteen, it's thirteen.
[9:15] Speaker 1: Yeah, they had dinosaur sex.
[9:18] Speaker 3: They did, and dinosaurs was.
[9:20] Speaker 1: Had dinosaur long neck, dinosaur pumps pumps.
[9:24] Speaker 2: I was crying, Oh, I was not slow pumps. Can
[9:34] Speaker 2: you imagine dinosaurs just pumping on your house and they're
[9:37] Speaker 2: like the woman was gripping on the roof of the house,
[9:43] Speaker 2: just taking the pumps, just like these are big bronosaur.
[9:51] Speaker 1: These as giving out prehistoric pumps gain.
[9:58] Speaker 3: You just gotta you just gotta let them finish what
[10:00] Speaker 3: you gonna do.
[10:02] Speaker 1: Imagine in your house destroyed by bronosaurs peen.
[10:08] Speaker 3: Yet that was funny to see, though.
[10:12] Speaker 2: There was another moment was down as eating and it
[10:14] Speaker 2: was pooping at the same time. I was like, details,
[10:17] Speaker 2: because they're gonna be pooping like horses. They gonna be
[10:20] Speaker 2: dumping like.
[10:21] Speaker 1: Would horses be walking, and just do to it. I'd
[10:23] Speaker 1: be like, man, horses don't care.
[10:25] Speaker 2: They be looking at you dead not you're talking to
[10:27] Speaker 2: this is a beautiful creature. They be like, glad you
[10:31] Speaker 2: like what you see?
[10:35] Speaker 3: Dude, right there you face the city. Sw I'm glad
[10:39] Speaker 3: you're like what you see?
[10:40] Speaker 2: We're going for a ride, hop on, hop on.
[10:48] Speaker 3: But but man, like I can tell like the rider
[10:50] Speaker 3: of this movie.
[10:52] Speaker 2: Now, now we're going into the spoiler bill y'all, big spoiler.
[10:55] Speaker 2: So if you if you don't want to be spoiled up,
[10:57] Speaker 2: now's your chance to run. But if if you don't mind,
[11:00] Speaker 2: we just gonna talk about whatever.
[11:02] Speaker 3: So you I.
[11:03] Speaker 2: Wonder what the writer's relationship was with his brother, because
[11:06] Speaker 2: clearly he don't like young boys, right, because that son
[11:13] Speaker 2: character was absolute uselessness.
[11:16] Speaker 1: It was this son.
[11:18] Speaker 3: He was useless.
[11:19] Speaker 1: He had a bow and arrow for this whole movie.
[11:24] Speaker 1: He missed ninety eight point nine.
[11:27] Speaker 2: Percent of the shot and the only reason he got
[11:29] Speaker 2: the final shot is because you couldn't miss.
[11:31] Speaker 1: The thing was the snake was in the house. It
[11:35] Speaker 1: covered the whole door frame. He hit one shot. He
[11:38] Speaker 1: was one for eighty eight.
[11:40] Speaker 2: That was like being playing duck Hunt, being right on
[11:42] Speaker 2: the TV screen like boom, and it took him.
[11:45] Speaker 3: Average fire off.
[11:47] Speaker 1: And then he went out there to find the dog
[11:50] Speaker 1: and that pulled up, which I get. You know, you
[11:52] Speaker 1: don't want your dog to die. Yeah, but that pulled
[11:54] Speaker 1: the family into the I mean, honestly, didn't matter where
[11:56] Speaker 1: y'all was going, he was gonna die.
[11:58] Speaker 3: He was getting on my nerves by they got damn
[12:00] Speaker 3: dug man.
[12:01] Speaker 2: Starbuck. The Starbuck was a minute obviously was he was.
[12:06] Speaker 3: He was a throwing in the neighbor's side. Starbuck didn't listen.
[12:10] Speaker 2: The mom was like, yo, don't bring that dog out
[12:12] Speaker 2: here to this little black party. And he's like, dare
[12:15] Speaker 2: say I can bring start because start that lets you know,
[12:17] Speaker 2: Starbuck is just round for the night. So he missing
[12:20] Speaker 2: in action. You think the dinosaurs.
[12:22] Speaker 3: Got he like man starbuck man.
[12:24] Speaker 2: Then he got a little crush on the new girl,
[12:26] Speaker 2: and then his sister takes the new girl from him.
[12:30] Speaker 1: I feel like that was a little gayness.
[12:32] Speaker 2: Oh this big game, it was nick game was together. Yeah,
[12:35] Speaker 2: and so he is that happened. He gets this girl
[12:38] Speaker 2: taken by his sister.
[12:41] Speaker 1: No, man, she's the only girl left on on earth.
[12:46] Speaker 1: Basically for you, one.
[12:47] Speaker 3: Girl, one girl. Then it banness you up, eye contact
[12:54] Speaker 3: got her and you just.
[12:55] Speaker 2: Over there with your bow and arrow, like just use
[12:58] Speaker 2: his mom, mom, what we gonna do? He was the
[13:02] Speaker 2: main one saying what we're gonna do?
[13:04] Speaker 1: I love when an.
[13:07] Speaker 3: Shut the hell up.
[13:08] Speaker 1: Man, I don't know. Parents need to be like that.
[13:10] Speaker 3: Sure, when we had.
[13:11] Speaker 1: The wildfires going, Isaiah looked me dead in my eye
[13:14] Speaker 1: and was like, father, what are we gonna do? I
[13:16] Speaker 1: was like, I don't know. I ain't never been in
[13:19] Speaker 1: no wildfires.
[13:21] Speaker 3: Man.
[13:21] Speaker 1: Where we put every time you go down the street,
[13:23] Speaker 1: it's a fire.
[13:24] Speaker 3: Yeah, you go to the.
[13:25] Speaker 1: North, now it's a fire. Say I don't know. Forty
[13:30] Speaker 1: two years old, brother, ain't nobody. I never lived nowhere
[13:33] Speaker 1: with no wildfires. Your guess is as good as mine.
[13:36] Speaker 1: I would have lost my I would have lost my temper.
[13:39] Speaker 3: Her her temper lose was more than valid.
[13:41] Speaker 1: For sure, what are we going to do fresh from
[13:44] Speaker 1: that trauma? And by the way, at this point, they
[13:48] Speaker 1: all just seeing their dad get eating a lot. God
[13:51] Speaker 1: he hit the Now this part was ridiculous. He hit
[13:54] Speaker 1: the t recks of the mouth with a sledgehammer that
[13:56] Speaker 1: got knocked out like a human being.
[13:58] Speaker 3: Briefly, I was like, all right, come on, man, you
[14:01] Speaker 3: got hitting that jaw.
[14:02] Speaker 1: He got me, but come on, told you hit her
[14:05] Speaker 1: t rexx with a sledgehipman. It was like, oh, ain't
[14:08] Speaker 1: no way. You saw he basically socked the dinosaur. It
[14:12] Speaker 1: immediately got up and murdered you.
[14:15] Speaker 3: It was just a brief you you got you one.
[14:17] Speaker 1: But still the biggest They are just thinking they scared.
[14:19] Speaker 1: He was like. They was like, man got out, pulled
[14:26] Speaker 1: his leg off, blood gushion and then their dad just
[14:30] Speaker 1: gets eating and they was like, which was realistic.
[14:34] Speaker 3: And Hathaway's reaction to him didn't need bath. Let me
[14:38] Speaker 3: tell you all this.
[14:38] Speaker 2: I've said this before about this woman. She could act
[14:42] Speaker 2: her ass off and has the way Yeah love her.
[14:44] Speaker 2: When she when she witnessed her husband getting eaten. The
[14:49] Speaker 2: way she just completely shut down for a moment and
[14:53] Speaker 2: was just like just she was on You could tell
[14:56] Speaker 2: she was in shock, auto pilot, just the worst thing.
[15:00] Speaker 3: And they all saw it, and it was just like it.
[15:03] Speaker 1: Was like Spike Lee almost how Spike Lee's characters be
[15:06] Speaker 1: like frozen in time. Yeah, they didn't do that camera shot,
[15:09] Speaker 1: but the way she was walking, she was just like,
[15:10] Speaker 1: but imagine your girlfriend getting eaten alive.
[15:14] Speaker 3: Man, your wife, you've.
[15:15] Speaker 1: Been together probably fifteen years at the time. Even if
[15:17] Speaker 1: you were beefing, it's like we beefing, but I don't
[15:20] Speaker 1: want you to get eating right in the she front
[15:23] Speaker 1: row for sure, right here, and the kids got to
[15:27] Speaker 1: have to see their dad get eaten.
[15:29] Speaker 3: Oh my god. They were all there that that was
[15:31] Speaker 3: crazy part. Everybody was just and I was like.
[15:34] Speaker 1: Oh, I was so loud in Theodore Alpus had to
[15:38] Speaker 1: apologize people.
[15:43] Speaker 3: All because once he got his legs, he lost half
[15:45] Speaker 3: his leg.
[15:46] Speaker 2: I was like, all right, he's gonna be hobbling around
[15:48] Speaker 2: the rest of it.
[15:50] Speaker 3: It's not going on finished them all.
[15:53] Speaker 2: And she just had to walk away while the dinosaur
[15:55] Speaker 2: was completing the meal, for sure.
[15:57] Speaker 1: Because otherwise I'm gonna eat y'all next.
[16:00] Speaker 3: You lucky.
[16:01] Speaker 1: I'm focused on your husband. He said. He sacrificed his
[16:05] Speaker 1: life for you because she had the gun. Dinosaur ate
[16:07] Speaker 1: the gun. He's about to get murdered. She about to
[16:11] Speaker 1: get murdered. He hit the dinosaur in the cave with
[16:13] Speaker 1: a sledgehammer, and he was like he was.
[16:17] Speaker 2: A rogue, though, he said, because I hate I hate
[16:19] Speaker 2: it when they tell people to run. The dinosaur got
[16:22] Speaker 2: a pinned on the porch, like run.
[16:24] Speaker 1: You you.
[16:28] Speaker 2: Think she ain't think of that? This this whole runner
[16:33] Speaker 2: you you think she didn't think about running? Clearly she's
[16:36] Speaker 2: trapped on the porch.
[16:38] Speaker 3: Run, nigga. What she would have heard me say that
[16:43] Speaker 3: from behind the dinosaur?
[16:45] Speaker 1: What run? Tom?
[16:47] Speaker 3: And you just telling me to run?
[16:50] Speaker 1: Hey, man, shut the hell out, man, I can't go nowhere.
[16:54] Speaker 1: Now I'm pissed off. Just eat me, man, I'm pinned down.
[16:58] Speaker 1: Just eat me, man, because now I'm pissed off off.
[17:00] Speaker 3: This is how I knew she was gonna be about
[17:02] Speaker 3: that action in the movie when she when she rolled
[17:04] Speaker 3: up on uh.
[17:05] Speaker 2: The old lady that she liked Miss Cuddles, Cuddles and
[17:09] Speaker 2: puddles Huddles were funny ass last name.
[17:15] Speaker 3: But she went in there and grabbed that shot gun immediately.
[17:17] Speaker 1: OKAYU off the dead body and there you know they
[17:20] Speaker 1: see the factor in the lady.
[17:22] Speaker 3: You see pictures of her with a hunting rifle or whatever.
[17:24] Speaker 1: Oh I missed that.
[17:25] Speaker 3: Yeah, I was like, okay, that's why she was nice.
[17:27] Speaker 3: She grabbed that rifle immediately.
[17:29] Speaker 1: Can you imagine being a relationship in the apocalypse. Would
[17:32] Speaker 1: you let your girl run the gun and you on sledgehammer.
[17:35] Speaker 2: And she was more skilled with the gun. Play Yeah,
[17:38] Speaker 2: if we only got one gun. Yeah, and I already
[17:40] Speaker 2: know she about that life. That's the smartest play. When
[17:44] Speaker 2: he all got to go out the window, Dug, Yes, yeah,
[17:48] Speaker 2: we the better shooter needs to have the gun. It
[17:50] Speaker 2: would be like this useless son of mine with the
[17:53] Speaker 2: guy damn bow and arrow.
[17:54] Speaker 1: I was so happy when he got beat up. He
[17:56] Speaker 1: got beat up by a bully in the middle of
[17:58] Speaker 1: her apocalypse smoke for him and beat them. I mean,
[18:03] Speaker 1: bloody Paul and.
[18:04] Speaker 2: He just laying there beat up. Dinosaur is still still out.
[18:08] Speaker 2: He gonna lay that after the beat down. Like man, Dug,
[18:11] Speaker 2: I got beat up.
[18:13] Speaker 1: It was so funny to me. I felt like an
[18:16] Speaker 1: evil person.
[18:17] Speaker 3: This boy was useless.
[18:18] Speaker 1: You can imagine, like a bully, like I don't care
[18:20] Speaker 1: if I died later on the day. I told you.
[18:23] Speaker 1: It was on site when ninety seen you broke my
[18:25] Speaker 1: brother's arm. He was wiser too.
[18:28] Speaker 3: He was hiding on the side of the house.
[18:31] Speaker 1: This is that motherfucker right there.
[18:33] Speaker 2: Hiding from t REX and he's like, nah, man, look
[18:36] Speaker 2: at the school to set the man.
[18:37] Speaker 3: You broke my brother's arm.
[18:39] Speaker 1: Brother behind with the brother, all them out.
[18:42] Speaker 3: Our parents are like, man, fuck this ship right here. Man,
[18:46] Speaker 3: come on. He didn't care nothing about that but his
[18:49] Speaker 3: broken He like, what are you doing?
[18:52] Speaker 2: He was like, man, I'm sorry, man, I just gotta
[18:54] Speaker 2: do something I can control. I can control beating this
[18:56] Speaker 2: weakling down. Because that kid was a weakling.
[19:00] Speaker 3: Yeah, he had no redeeming qualities and loving his dog.
[19:04] Speaker 1: When it was time to jumps in the portal.
[19:07] Speaker 2: And then let it mom, come on, man, this kid
[19:13] Speaker 2: was the word.
[19:14] Speaker 1: Had time to jump here were here fine? She was like, no,
[19:18] Speaker 1: do it right now. As soon as it popped open
[19:20] Speaker 1: jump he donecounted more his girlfriend that he lost, jumped
[19:23] Speaker 1: in purple jump and swoos. He lied.
[19:25] Speaker 3: Man, fuck y'all.
[19:29] Speaker 2: This boy was useless dog one to one to one too.
[19:36] Speaker 2: I'm like, whoever wrote this character was just like I
[19:39] Speaker 2: can't stand my brother. I can't stand my brother.
[19:42] Speaker 1: Also super whack to find out your your wife's been
[19:46] Speaker 1: writing a book about how much she hates this family.
[19:49] Speaker 1: She had edits and stuff. He read it too. It's like,
[19:52] Speaker 1: I read your little book.
[19:53] Speaker 3: I read your little Boy.
[19:55] Speaker 1: She's like, no, no, it was just a story.
[19:56] Speaker 3: He was like, man, ship, old lady told you that too.
[20:01] Speaker 3: Because I was listening in. She's like, she told the
[20:05] Speaker 3: old lady. She was like, no, it's not about my line.
[20:07] Speaker 3: She was like, all right, all right, man.
[20:12] Speaker 1: It's quite obvious about your life.
[20:14] Speaker 3: I've been doing this for years. What it is?
[20:18] Speaker 1: Yeah, all right to smooth jazz review. Man.
[20:21] Speaker 2: So with all that being said, I cared about the family.
[20:26] Speaker 2: I cared about the dynamic and what was going on.
[20:28] Speaker 2: I like Anne Hathaway's character. Of course, you know they
[20:33] Speaker 2: was doing some dumb ship in there, but I feel
[20:34] Speaker 2: like the dumb ship was to a minimum.
[20:36] Speaker 1: Yeah, for sure.
[20:37] Speaker 2: Some of the special effects was kind of just like, oh,
[20:40] Speaker 2: some tough, horribly bad.
[20:42] Speaker 1: The dog getting picked up by the bird.
[20:44] Speaker 2: They dog was getting on my goddamn nervous Starbucks. But
[20:47] Speaker 2: he came through when it was clutched, when the boy
[20:50] Speaker 2: was helpless again. And I did like the ending. I
[20:55] Speaker 2: know some people won't like the ending, but I liked it.
[20:58] Speaker 3: I liked it. I was just like, I would.
[21:00] Speaker 2: Save that for Y'all'm gonna save y'all at least one
[21:02] Speaker 2: non spoiled thing.
[21:03] Speaker 3: But I did like how they ended it.
[21:05] Speaker 1: So what happened in the ending is this.
[21:09] Speaker 2: So I will give it three to three and a
[21:16] Speaker 2: half saxophones out of five, probably three and three saxophones out.
[21:19] Speaker 1: I would say, I'll say three and a half.
[21:22] Speaker 3: I really have three and a half because I liked
[21:24] Speaker 3: it a lot more than the last house.
[21:26] Speaker 1: Oh Man off the hills of the last house, he
[21:28] Speaker 1: had three and a half. Other fun It was solid.
[21:30] Speaker 1: I went by myself right off the road. I was
[21:34] Speaker 1: a little sleepy, so I just had to have some
[21:35] Speaker 1: popcorn and raisin nets health through the day. But I
[21:38] Speaker 1: enjoyed myself. I can suspend disbelief. Everything don't have to
[21:41] Speaker 1: be perfect for medium enjoy all. I love to see
[21:44] Speaker 1: dinosaurs eating people. I'm very easily pleased. There was some
[21:47] Speaker 1: funny eat dinosaur on a trampoline, dinosaur in your pool,
[21:50] Speaker 1: snakes eating people, neighbor being funny. That guy's always funny,
[21:54] Speaker 1: that actor always that character always, but he nailed every
[22:00] Speaker 1: time time.
[22:01] Speaker 3: If it ain't broken, fix it. Why is that snake cute? Man?
[22:03] Speaker 3: I don't know this snake.
[22:04] Speaker 1: Was cute to mouth. Yeah. I wanted to see my
[22:07] Speaker 1: neighbor get eating in real life. I'll be like, imagine
[22:09] Speaker 1: beef with your neighbor and then watching it your neighbor
[22:11] Speaker 1: get eaten by dinosaur birds. I'll be like, man, this
[22:14] Speaker 1: is great. I told you stop talking about my dog.
[22:17] Speaker 1: You talk about pulling a gun on my dog. Now
[22:19] Speaker 1: dinosaurs are murdering you. This is great.
[22:22] Speaker 2: I like how Anne Hathaway was just sick of it all. Yeah,
[22:25] Speaker 2: underneath she was just bubbling. She was tired of putting
[22:27] Speaker 2: on that persona for sure, she acted really well, did you.
[22:31] Speaker 1: McGregor was like, hey, man, they paid me, brother, I
[22:35] Speaker 1: ain't gonna give you much or nothing.
[22:36] Speaker 3: He was just like, I know you take this down. Man.
[22:39] Speaker 3: Your mother don't like the pieces delivery sign.
[22:41] Speaker 1: Man. He was like, hey, no, baby, eighteen million dollars brother.
[22:46] Speaker 1: I did my thing.
[22:47] Speaker 3: I did. I did. I did what you asked me
[22:49] Speaker 3: to do.
[22:49] Speaker 1: And had the way. Yeah, she turned into performance. She
[22:53] Speaker 1: was very good. And that's a good white woman, all right.
[22:56] Speaker 1: Moving on to movie TV news. Uh, the Drop, which
[23:03] Speaker 1: is a spin off of Snowfall, trailer was released if
[23:08] Speaker 1: you did not catch it. Essentially, Wanda and Leon split
[23:15] Speaker 1: off from Franklin and they go into the music business. Yeah,
[23:20] Speaker 1: and find out that it's very similar to the drug business.
[23:23] Speaker 3: Yeah.
[23:23] Speaker 1: Tone, you send it to me, man, what are your thoughts?
[23:25] Speaker 2: So I watched that trailer and I was like, oh,
[23:27] Speaker 2: this is this looks great. It still has the gritty
[23:30] Speaker 2: visual style of Snowfall, and it's set. It's a time
[23:35] Speaker 2: period so you know what I'm saying, time period piece,
[23:38] Speaker 2: if you will.
[23:39] Speaker 3: And so, so now the pivot is we often drugs.
[23:42] Speaker 2: We're going to the rap game, and the rap game,
[23:44] Speaker 2: you know what I'm saying, is similar to the crack game.
[23:48] Speaker 2: And so we're going and you still got the game coaching,
[23:50] Speaker 2: you still got to still got to get the pistols out.
[23:52] Speaker 2: You're getting pistols drawn on you. So all of that
[23:55] Speaker 2: is just closely related. So I'm just like, yo, I
[23:57] Speaker 2: love this pivot.
[23:58] Speaker 1: Me too.
[23:59] Speaker 2: And you think about all the these rappers back in
[24:00] Speaker 2: the day of whether they were the rappers themselves or
[24:04] Speaker 2: the people behind the rappers who had the seedy street background.
[24:08] Speaker 3: For sure, drug.
[24:09] Speaker 2: Dealers putting the money up for death row records and like,
[24:12] Speaker 2: you know, stuff like this.
[24:13] Speaker 1: I Needa Baker's first album funded by Free Gray Rick
[24:15] Speaker 1: Ross see with drug money. Jay Z funded his rap
[24:20] Speaker 1: career drug money, drugs and rap. Early on, we was
[24:26] Speaker 1: working together and also the Mob.
[24:29] Speaker 2: The Mob had the they tentacles and everything.
[24:31] Speaker 1: Man, the Mob created the entire city of Las Vegas,
[24:37] Speaker 1: funded the entertainment industry, part funded Hollywood movie.
[24:40] Speaker 3: It was in the boxing.
[24:41] Speaker 1: They was in the all of boxing, Tough Sports, Tough Fixed,
[24:46] Speaker 1: the nineteen twenty World Series.
[24:49] Speaker 3: The Mob money was deep. They was all up in there.
[24:53] Speaker 3: So I'm loving this approach to it. It's not just
[24:56] Speaker 3: a regular spind off like Leon's the drug man. Now
[24:58] Speaker 3: nah Man, we different different.
[25:01] Speaker 1: I thought that was so smart because I obviously the
[25:04] Speaker 1: drop is also a drug term. Music can drop, but
[25:07] Speaker 1: also drugs can be dropped. You drop the cash, you
[25:09] Speaker 1: drop like all that. So I assumed it was more
[25:13] Speaker 1: drugs and I was like, okay, I like Leon and
[25:15] Speaker 1: Galban and Isaiah John great actors. So I would have
[25:19] Speaker 1: signed up for anything, but finding out it's I guess
[25:23] Speaker 1: drug adjacent, and especially at that time because you remember
[25:28] Speaker 1: death row records, bad boy like there was legit violence.
[25:31] Speaker 3: For sure, easy ruthless records.
[25:33] Speaker 2: He was a drug dealer. That's how I had the money. Then,
[25:35] Speaker 2: you know what I'm saying, that's true. Yeah, so it's like, sign.
[25:39] Speaker 1: Me up, we need drugs in gospel.
[25:41] Speaker 3: Oh that would.
[25:44] Speaker 1: Be a show.
[25:45] Speaker 2: I mean some of these pastes and former pimps, former drug.
[25:48] Speaker 1: Dealers, they make the best pastors. You know what I'm saying,
[25:51] Speaker 1: Former pimps, former drug dealers, womanizers. I need my pastor
[25:56] Speaker 1: to have gone through something. You just was like I
[25:58] Speaker 1: was born to God.
[26:00] Speaker 3: I love God too perfect for me. I can't relate.
[26:03] Speaker 1: I want you to sort the little weed and did
[26:04] Speaker 1: some time.
[26:05] Speaker 3: Yeah, but I only need you're doing it mid pastor, and.
[26:10] Speaker 1: Oh you don't want the little baby on the side.
[26:11] Speaker 2: I don't want you womanizing all the women in the congregation.
[26:14] Speaker 2: And it's just like so previous woman I'm talking about
[26:17] Speaker 2: your past could be your past, but you can't be
[26:20] Speaker 2: shady in mid Could.
[26:22] Speaker 1: You forgive a pastor who you know a little side
[26:24] Speaker 1: baby on the side, but then I'm sorry, God, Sorry, God,
[26:28] Speaker 1: he gonna keep doing it now, I ain't gonna do
[26:30] Speaker 1: any But he did have one legit side baby during
[26:33] Speaker 1: the pastoral ship. But then he was like, I'm sorry, y'all.
[26:37] Speaker 2: But then it just goes back into like you're hurting.
[26:41] Speaker 2: What your goal is is spread spread the word the gospel.
[26:44] Speaker 1: You know what I'm saying. He spread the words so
[26:45] Speaker 1: much that he spread the seed.
[26:47] Speaker 3: But you know what I'm saying, You're gonna lose people
[26:49] Speaker 3: that way.
[26:50] Speaker 1: Yeah, but God forgives people.
[26:51] Speaker 2: Are gonna be like, yes, why I don't rock with religion, man,
[26:53] Speaker 2: because it's cast like this.
[26:55] Speaker 1: Yeah, so it's gonna do more harm than good. So
[26:58] Speaker 1: you're out on the side baby, yeah.
[27:00] Speaker 2: Cause I'm just like, man, you preaching all this stuff. Man,
[27:02] Speaker 2: you shady him how you live your life? And I
[27:04] Speaker 2: don't want nothing. You got to say after that, if
[27:07] Speaker 2: you in the midst of it, if it was your past,
[27:09] Speaker 2: and that hey far in the.
[27:11] Speaker 1: Past, because you have been like how far your sins
[27:14] Speaker 1: got to be removed?
[27:16] Speaker 2: I mean it could be like a few years, just
[27:18] Speaker 2: a few years now, I was out.
[27:21] Speaker 3: There dealing in drugs, and then it was just this one.
[27:23] Speaker 2: You know what I'm saying, Because you can have a
[27:25] Speaker 2: hell of an epiphany one day and turn your life around.
[27:29] Speaker 2: So I give grace for that, but I can't rock
[27:32] Speaker 2: with you if you're in the midst of you know,
[27:35] Speaker 2: congregations every Sunday talking about this and then you out
[27:39] Speaker 2: here smashing all the women in.
[27:42] Speaker 3: The congregation, bro smashing, smashing dudes wives. And you know
[27:48] Speaker 3: what I'm saying.
[27:49] Speaker 1: But what the woman threw it out of him? He
[27:51] Speaker 1: just fast.
[27:52] Speaker 3: Man.
[27:52] Speaker 1: You have to be you have integrity.
[27:54] Speaker 3: You got to be stronger than that. Man. Yeah, man,
[27:58] Speaker 3: because it was like, man, shut the hell up. Man,
[28:00] Speaker 3: this shut the hell up every Sunday. Yeah, man, that's
[28:03] Speaker 3: shut the hell up. Man.
[28:06] Speaker 2: I saw you down there at the strip club last
[28:08] Speaker 2: week getting your dick suck.
[28:11] Speaker 3: Now you want to be in here talking all this, man, we.
[28:16] Speaker 1: Might as well keep it living.
[28:17] Speaker 3: Now, let's keep it real, congregation.
[28:19] Speaker 2: The passer was in here getting this dick suck at
[28:23] Speaker 2: the con at the strip.
[28:24] Speaker 3: Club Friday night. Now he in here trying to tell
[28:29] Speaker 3: y'all what's going on in the Bible. Man, This is
[28:32] Speaker 3: y'all leader. Dick sucks on Fridays and Saturday nights. Now
[28:38] Speaker 3: he in here with his rollbo.
[28:41] Speaker 1: He ain't got no draws road.
[28:44] Speaker 3: He probably probably up there, he probably got a woman
[28:46] Speaker 3: underneath the podium.
[28:47] Speaker 1: Oh god, So could you go with a Could you
[28:51] Speaker 1: go to church with a with a single pastor? If
[28:54] Speaker 1: he's just living his life as a single man.
[28:56] Speaker 3: Yeah, that's fine. But once I find out you dirty,
[29:00] Speaker 3: then it's just like.
[29:01] Speaker 1: So, what's dirty? Womanizing or like? Because there's a lot
[29:04] Speaker 1: of single passes. I don't assume all single pastors are
[29:06] Speaker 1: out here.
[29:07] Speaker 2: Let's say you, let's say you're a pastor, but you
[29:09] Speaker 2: always say, listen, y'all, I'm a work in progress. I'm
[29:12] Speaker 2: a current mess. I'll be doing this, this and this now.
[29:16] Speaker 2: This is what I struggle with today. You cool with that, yeah,
[29:20] Speaker 2: because now I was all right? You keeping it real.
[29:23] Speaker 2: You're transparent, You going through your struggles as we all do,
[29:26] Speaker 2: and even in the midst of your struggle, you still
[29:29] Speaker 2: trying to find guidance in the word, and you're trying
[29:32] Speaker 2: to figure.
[29:32] Speaker 3: It out just as we are.
[29:34] Speaker 2: So now it's like we figured it out together, and
[29:36] Speaker 2: that makes me respect you even more.
[29:38] Speaker 3: But if you're out here fronting it's a fronting.
[29:44] Speaker 1: You can deal with a lot, but you can't deal.
[29:46] Speaker 3: With nah man, the hypocrisy about what you're doing.
[29:49] Speaker 2: And man, watch y'all condemning everybody the hell and you
[29:52] Speaker 2: was out there and getting your.
[29:53] Speaker 3: Dicks up at the strip club?
[29:56] Speaker 1: Do they do that at strip clubs?
[29:58] Speaker 3: They can?
[29:59] Speaker 1: I thought it was mostly I don't know. They can
[30:01] Speaker 1: say that you pay extra, but that's now sex work. Well,
[30:05] Speaker 1: I guess stripping is sex work, so they go.
[30:07] Speaker 2: A little extra, only I don't know if they're gonna
[30:09] Speaker 2: do it in the venue with some of them, like hey, extra,
[30:13] Speaker 2: will meet me here or something.
[30:14] Speaker 3: Like wow, yeah, wow, get that money?
[30:17] Speaker 1: Man, you live and learn, all right, So I'm excited
[30:21] Speaker 1: about that. I'm definitely gonna check that out. We also
[30:24] Speaker 1: wanted to talk about Different World. Yeah. Different World trailer
[30:31] Speaker 1: just dropped. I can't tell if it's a I can't
[30:34] Speaker 1: tell if it's like bel Air, Like it's not a
[30:37] Speaker 1: single camp. I mean, it's not a multi cam at all,
[30:41] Speaker 1: but I feel like it was leaning. I don't know,
[30:44] Speaker 1: I can't tell if it's like bel Air.
[30:46] Speaker 2: It feels like it feels like the original cast members
[30:48] Speaker 2: have kids going to that school.
[30:50] Speaker 3: For sure, or are they just using those actors.
[30:53] Speaker 1: No, no, no, I think it is there. I think it
[30:55] Speaker 1: was and d Wayne's no, I mean lair in the
[31:00] Speaker 1: sense of bel air was like a dramatic version of
[31:03] Speaker 1: The Fresh. It was funny, but it didn't seem like
[31:08] Speaker 1: the original Different World was a comedy straight up. I
[31:11] Speaker 1: feel like this one is maybe more of a drama. Ye,
[31:15] Speaker 1: it seems like there's some dramatic elements to it. It
[31:18] Speaker 1: seems more like the stylization makes it feel like such
[31:22] Speaker 1: a different show than a Different World the original, which
[31:25] Speaker 1: I think for me on a reboot, I think I
[31:28] Speaker 1: need you to do something that's very different.
[31:30] Speaker 2: You gotta do something different, you gotta worked exactly why
[31:34] Speaker 2: they want a different direction.
[31:35] Speaker 1: They won a different direction, gritty color grade, and I
[31:39] Speaker 1: always feel like I always felt like the original Different
[31:41] Speaker 1: World was kind of it kind of blurred the line
[31:45] Speaker 1: between dramatic and comedy a lot.
[31:47] Speaker 2: You know what, You're right, I feel like I feel
[31:49] Speaker 2: like I've never looked at a Different World as just
[31:51] Speaker 2: a straight up comedy.
[31:53] Speaker 1: You're absolutely right. They covered I Mean Fresh, Prince covered
[31:56] Speaker 1: all the nineties.
[31:57] Speaker 2: Shows, special episodes, but it was always like, but I
[32:00] Speaker 2: felt like a different world was consistently like they had
[32:03] Speaker 2: a lot of dramatic beats and they're like just straight
[32:05] Speaker 2: serious beats in there.
[32:07] Speaker 1: Yeah, they called the lot that with colorism and stuff. Also,
[32:10] Speaker 1: uh to Sheena Arnold's daughter is in there. Really, I'm
[32:13] Speaker 1: excited to see her. I think her name is a
[32:15] Speaker 1: Lasaki or something like that. She's super funny on Instagram,
[32:19] Speaker 1: just like to Sheena Arnold, very funny. She can sing
[32:22] Speaker 1: all I remember.
[32:23] Speaker 3: I remember seeing them together one time.
[32:26] Speaker 1: She got her honest, she got her honest, and I
[32:31] Speaker 1: saw she was cast and I was like, all right,
[32:33] Speaker 1: a lot of She's actually the only actress that I
[32:35] Speaker 1: recognized that wasn't from I see Met the Man in the.
[32:40] Speaker 2: Track Met the Man. I saw Darryl Bell who played Uh.
[32:45] Speaker 2: It was Dwayne Wayne's.
[32:46] Speaker 3: Best friend Ron Ron Ron. I saw Jazzmine guy.
[32:50] Speaker 1: Yeah, Chris Summer was in there. Jada Pinkett was in
[32:53] Speaker 1: there in one scene Pinks. Yeah, Jada pink was And
[32:57] Speaker 1: I couldn't make out who the dude next to her was.
[32:59] Speaker 1: She was talking on the thing with some man but
[33:03] Speaker 1: that I kept rewinding, but I couldn't catch who it was.
[33:05] Speaker 1: Kadem Hardison, uh was with Jasmine guy. So I don't
[33:10] Speaker 1: know how much like it could be very like a
[33:15] Speaker 1: very simply the drop off day is where you see
[33:18] Speaker 1: the parents and stuff like, I could see a world
[33:20] Speaker 1: where they're in the pilot, but they're not in the show. Show.
[33:23] Speaker 1: But as far as I know, you don't like reboots.
[33:26] Speaker 2: I'm not a fan of reboots, but sometimes I'll get
[33:29] Speaker 2: credit what credit is due if a reboot is done correctly.
[33:33] Speaker 1: But that's what we need to do. Top ten reboots
[33:35] Speaker 1: that you actually liked.
[33:36] Speaker 3: Yeah, re reboot or remakes.
[33:40] Speaker 1: Reboot or remake, be cause sometimes I like a reboot.
[33:43] Speaker 1: For me, I realized a lot of reboots. I like,
[33:46] Speaker 1: I had no idea the first movie existed, Like I
[33:48] Speaker 1: did not know Ocean's eleven was a reboot.
[33:51] Speaker 2: That's a that's an example of a good one when
[33:53] Speaker 2: enough time is passed. Yeah, it's a different you know
[33:56] Speaker 2: what I'm saying, Like the Thing is a is a remake, So.
[33:59] Speaker 1: Yeah, I just found that out right now. And what time?
[34:02] Speaker 1: When was the original one? Sixty something sixty seven?
[34:04] Speaker 3: Yeah, it was like in the black and white days
[34:06] Speaker 3: fifty sixties.
[34:07] Speaker 1: When did you talking about the thing? The swim Russell
[34:10] Speaker 1: no rebook what was in that.
[34:14] Speaker 3: Kurt Russell is in the remake.
[34:15] Speaker 1: Oh, he's in the remake.
[34:16] Speaker 3: Yeah.
[34:17] Speaker 1: Oh wait, the one I'm thinking of is the remake.
[34:19] Speaker 3: Well, there was another on a remake. Yeah, that's a
[34:23] Speaker 3: remake eighty two.
[34:24] Speaker 2: Then they then they did a prequel to that in
[34:26] Speaker 2: the two thousands.
[34:28] Speaker 1: Oh snap. Oh. The original thing was called A Thing
[34:32] Speaker 1: for Another World came out in nineteen fifty one. Oh
[34:37] Speaker 1: that's thirty years. That's a generation. Yeah.
[34:39] Speaker 2: So so even the Blob. The Blob had a good remake. Yeah,
[34:43] Speaker 2: and sometimes sometimes they do happen. Night of the Living
[34:47] Speaker 2: Dad had a good remake too. Tony Todd was in
[34:50] Speaker 2: the remake that man.
[34:52] Speaker 1: Yeah, some Peace Friday Kidd was a good remake with
[34:55] Speaker 1: Jackie Channing Jaden.
[34:56] Speaker 3: That was a good remake.
[34:57] Speaker 1: That was a great mate. But they switched they switched
[34:59] Speaker 1: the character. Actually they switched the race and they switched
[35:02] Speaker 1: the location.
[35:03] Speaker 3: Yeah.
[35:03] Speaker 1: Usually just one is good, but that one was. And
[35:07] Speaker 1: they did another remake of that. But I didn't catch
[35:09] Speaker 1: that one that. I did a brand deal for that one,
[35:11] Speaker 1: but I actually didn't.
[35:12] Speaker 3: Watch the Yeah, that movie just kind of came and win.
[35:14] Speaker 3: I'm surprised.
[35:15] Speaker 1: Wait, West World was a remake. West World was a
[35:18] Speaker 1: movie back in the day with you Brenner. Really yeah,
[35:23] Speaker 1: I love West World. Had no idea was a remake
[35:26] Speaker 1: a movie? You know, the entire time I was a
[35:27] Speaker 1: remake either.
[35:28] Speaker 3: Yeah, Italian job too.
[35:30] Speaker 1: See that's what I'm saying. I think a big portion
[35:32] Speaker 1: of it time because if Isaiah watched, I feel like
[35:35] Speaker 1: Different World is for Isaiah and Josiah or maybe a
[35:39] Speaker 1: little younger you know you I was watching Different World,
[35:42] Speaker 1: I might have been in middle school. Was the Different
[35:46] Speaker 1: World now originally eight? Yeah, threeteen eighties?
[35:53] Speaker 3: I was four, Yeah it was.
[35:55] Speaker 2: It was the eighties, man, I would I wasn't even
[35:58] Speaker 2: in high school when that show Guest started.
[36:00] Speaker 1: When did the Cosby Show start?
[36:02] Speaker 3: Eighty four? Eighty three?
[36:05] Speaker 1: Yeah, I didn't realize the Cosmme Show in Different World
[36:09] Speaker 1: were so close. It was only three years into the
[36:10] Speaker 1: college show. He got to spin off because Lisa left quick. Yeah,
[36:14] Speaker 1: she was so fine of me. Tone Oh my god.
[36:16] Speaker 3: You know what's funny about Lisa Bonet?
[36:18] Speaker 2: Like in eighty four, when when the Cosmme Show first
[36:22] Speaker 2: came on, I remember just watching the show blankly, like
[36:26] Speaker 2: loving the show, but I wasn't crushing on anybody, and
[36:31] Speaker 2: I was just like, yeah, it's a great show. And
[36:33] Speaker 2: then then when I when I look back now, and
[36:38] Speaker 2: I was just like, Lisa Bonet was gorgeous.
[36:41] Speaker 1: Man, oh my god.
[36:44] Speaker 2: Like because I realized I realized it did. But I
[36:47] Speaker 2: was just like, yeah, you know, that's Denise. But I
[36:50] Speaker 2: wasn't like Denise many. I was just like, god, damn,
[36:56] Speaker 2: she was looking like.
[36:57] Speaker 3: That the whole time. Man.
[36:59] Speaker 1: She was like, there was nobody in the pastor like
[37:03] Speaker 1: Lisa or Man. You're like, man, we don't got that
[37:05] Speaker 1: kind of person at school or church. Yeah, she looked like.
[37:09] Speaker 1: I was like, oh, she was like when I first
[37:11] Speaker 1: saw Eric about dude when I was in the middle school.
[37:13] Speaker 1: I was just like, I want to you can be
[37:16] Speaker 1: like this, what's happened to you?
[37:17] Speaker 3: I don't think I see some Texas she was yeah,
[37:20] Speaker 3: And I was.
[37:21] Speaker 1: Just like, okay, man, yeah, I like that. I like
[37:25] Speaker 1: I like her.
[37:28] Speaker 3: I don't know how I made it through looking at Lisa.
[37:30] Speaker 2: Bone as a kid, unscathed on the straight up, just
[37:34] Speaker 2: because I had seen her in Angel Heart as well.
[37:36] Speaker 1: I don't even know what that is.
[37:38] Speaker 2: Angel Hart is a movie that Bill Cosby did not
[37:40] Speaker 2: want her to partake in.
[37:42] Speaker 3: Really and she she did this with Mickey.
[37:44] Speaker 2: Roy, Robert de Niro's in it. She she got naked
[37:47] Speaker 2: in there too.
[37:48] Speaker 1: I was just about to say they have something to
[37:49] Speaker 1: do sexuals. That why he didn't want her out. And
[37:52] Speaker 1: Nikka was on that stuff and then was doing crime McGee.
[37:55] Speaker 1: He's basically what you was talking about with the pastor.
[37:57] Speaker 3: She was like, I'm doing it.
[37:58] Speaker 1: He's like, I'm pull your pants up while I drugged
[38:01] Speaker 1: this woman.
[38:02] Speaker 3: And I'm talking about That's what I'm saying a lot
[38:05] Speaker 3: of nerve.
[38:06] Speaker 1: Don'g Andeddy Murphy, Man, stop cussing so much because I'm
[38:09] Speaker 1: an assault I'm gonna bring up your contradiction. Man. Nineteen
[38:13] Speaker 1: ninety seven. I first saw Erica Abaddu I was fourteen
[38:15] Speaker 1: years old. I was like, man, on and on. Indeed,
[38:19] Speaker 1: when she opened that door on that man, I was like, man,
[38:23] Speaker 1: black women, I was so glad with it. It's so
[38:26] Speaker 1: funny my history. Man. I thought Sidney Crawford was God's gift.
[38:30] Speaker 1: But once I saw Halle Berry see and.
[38:32] Speaker 3: Now Wiley Barry, I can't do it. Tlly Halle. It's
[38:37] Speaker 3: like saying, Halle Barry, Hally Barry.
[38:40] Speaker 1: If you right now say that, Hey, my name is
[38:42] Speaker 1: actually pronounced Tanny. I'd be like, man, it's to I
[38:46] Speaker 1: can't as I say, Halle still sounds weird to me,
[38:50] Speaker 1: Halle halle Berry. But anyway, when I saw Halle Berry,
[38:54] Speaker 1: I was like, all right, Sidney Crawford, get the hell
[38:56] Speaker 1: on and don't you come back? And then Eric Abaud dude,
[38:59] Speaker 1: even Miss Ellie. When I first saw Missy Ellen, I
[39:01] Speaker 1: was like, man, she is beautiful and she was also talented.
[39:06] Speaker 1: I just thought that that super duper fly music video
[39:09] Speaker 1: was so dope to me. I was just like, I
[39:10] Speaker 1: love everything about her video was fire man Tom we
[39:14] Speaker 1: got to see. I'd be grateful for our age, oh
[39:18] Speaker 1: for sure, cause like hip hop and R and B
[39:20] Speaker 1: ninety six, ninety seven ninety eight, we were seeing the
[39:24] Speaker 1: best stuff ever. Yeah, debut. We watched the debut. I remember, like,
[39:31] Speaker 1: missy Ellie, it's new music, because I had heard of
[39:33] Speaker 1: her with Tim and Magoo, But the debut.
[39:37] Speaker 2: I'm always grateful that I am my age. A lot
[39:40] Speaker 2: of people be like, man, you old, you old, But
[39:42] Speaker 2: little do y'all know what I've lived through and seen
[39:45] Speaker 2: in real time.
[39:46] Speaker 1: It's great.
[39:47] Speaker 3: I've lived through.
[39:48] Speaker 2: The eras of Eric being Rock, Kim coming down, and
[39:51] Speaker 2: Snoop and Dre and Nwua and Public Enemy. I've seen
[39:56] Speaker 2: all of this in real time, Tupac's rise and fall, Biggie,
[40:00] Speaker 2: And so when people argue with me, I'll just be like,
[40:02] Speaker 2: how old are you?
[40:03] Speaker 1: We seen the Dangerous Music Video premiere premire.
[40:06] Speaker 3: I seen the Thriller premiere.
[40:08] Speaker 1: That's crazy.

[40:16] Speaker 3: A lot of y'all be letting YouTube videos. Nah, man,
[40:19] Speaker 3: I was there.
[40:21] Speaker 1: What year was that?
[40:22] Speaker 3: Eighty eighty two?
[40:23] Speaker 1: Eighty two was fine?
[40:24] Speaker 2: I was young, and Thriller premiere in eighty three. The
[40:27] Speaker 2: video video came out later. But man, you know what
[40:31] Speaker 2: I'm saying. I remember this Friday Night videos, the Thriller premiere,
[40:34] Speaker 2: and I was trying to watch and I got scared
[40:36] Speaker 2: halfway through and I covered covered up the rest of
[40:39] Speaker 2: the video.
[40:40] Speaker 1: What's the moment when you tapped out?
[40:42] Speaker 2: When when she she uh, when she the zombies were
[40:47] Speaker 2: coming out, she was looking around. Then she turned around
[40:49] Speaker 2: and Michael was one of them. So before the dance, Yeah,
[40:54] Speaker 2: it was just like cause when when the zombies were
[40:57] Speaker 2: coming out, I was like these they was coming out
[41:00] Speaker 2: of stuff coming out their mouth. I was just like,
[41:05] Speaker 2: and we was all in my mom's room in her bed.
[41:08] Speaker 2: It was me and my two brothers and my mom,
[41:10] Speaker 2: and I was just.
[41:10] Speaker 3: In the middle. I remember being in the middle. Specifically,
[41:13] Speaker 3: I need to be tucked in.
[41:16] Speaker 2: I need to be in the nestled in the middle
[41:19] Speaker 2: of my family. And I was just like I had
[41:21] Speaker 2: to cover just so when they was watching they was
[41:24] Speaker 2: watching the movie at the movie there, I was like,
[41:26] Speaker 2: all right, it's just a.
[41:27] Speaker 3: Movie within the movie. All right, it's just a movie
[41:30] Speaker 3: within the movie.
[41:31] Speaker 1: That's it.
[41:32] Speaker 3: It's just it's just you're tripping. Yeah, she tripping. I'm
[41:36] Speaker 3: tripping too. And then then when.
[41:39] Speaker 2: He started walking in, he started walking in, he started singing,
[41:41] Speaker 2: and they walking She like yeah, I'm like okay. The
[41:45] Speaker 2: cover started sliding down, and then they skip off.
[41:50] Speaker 3: Because he cut the song off. Then they skip off.
[41:54] Speaker 2: And then once they skipped off into the area where
[41:56] Speaker 2: the zombies started coming out, and I was just.
[41:58] Speaker 3: Like, come on, man, while they looking like this right back, y'all.
[42:05] Speaker 3: And then she was like she's looking around paying over
[42:08] Speaker 3: the m J he was.
[42:13] Speaker 2: I just listened to the rest of it. I just
[42:16] Speaker 2: listened to the right chap. I was covered up, dog.
[42:21] Speaker 1: I was.
[42:22] Speaker 3: I was sitting there looking like Charlie Brown. And then
[42:26] Speaker 3: we had that ghost costume that.
[42:29] Speaker 1: Was just sitting I was like, all right, Michael got
[42:32] Speaker 1: the face.
[42:34] Speaker 2: If he was the walk in my family's room, you
[42:37] Speaker 2: would seeing my family sitting there white.
[42:39] Speaker 3: Then's just a little heel of sheet just sitting there,
[42:44] Speaker 3: like I heard it. I heard it first time.
[42:53] Speaker 2: I was like, man, and then I watched it shortly thereafter.
[42:56] Speaker 2: But it was just that that premiere night, and it
[42:59] Speaker 2: was late on Friday night.
[43:01] Speaker 1: It was dark outside already, and.
[43:05] Speaker 2: This Michael's alive and we was in the haunted apartment
[43:08] Speaker 2: at that time. Watch out, but I'm grateful to be
[43:13] Speaker 2: alive during that whole era, like Thriller.
[43:16] Speaker 1: In real time, I remember me and my cousins watched
[43:18] Speaker 1: a scream music video. Yeah, in real time. We were like,
[43:21] Speaker 1: this is the best music video I've ever seen in
[43:23] Speaker 1: my life. It was like and then Jenny Jackson did
[43:27] Speaker 1: this and I was like, Wow, she's showing the stomach
