[0:00] Speaker 1: What up, y'all? It's your boy Kev on stage.
[0:01] Speaker 2: Tony Baker. Welcome to the Bald.
[0:03] Speaker 3: Brothers, a podcast where me and Tony cover whatever the
[0:06] Speaker 3: hell we want to. And right now we're talking Lanterns
[0:09] Speaker 3: Episode 7 and The Drop Episode 3. Let's jump right in, Tone.
[0:16] Speaker 3: How you feeling about Episode 7 of them Lanterns?
[0:19] Speaker 4: It was weird.
[0:20] Speaker 1: What you mean weird?
[0:21] Speaker 4: It was just a weird episode.
[0:23] Speaker 2: It started off cool. Then when they went to the
[0:26] Speaker 2: other world dimension planet thing.
[0:30] Speaker 4: In the time space, it would look like the Salton Sea.
[0:34] Speaker 2: And it was just desert and skeletons in the ground.
[0:36] Speaker 1: The Salton Sea?
[0:37] Speaker 2: The Salton Sea. I've been to the Salton Sea before.
[0:41] Speaker 2: And I was out there during the fish die off. Wait,
[0:43] Speaker 2: what's the Salton Sea?
[0:44] Speaker 1: I don't know.
[0:44] Speaker 2: The Salton Sea is in California. It's kind of by Barstool. Oh,
[0:47] Speaker 2: I thought you were just being funny. No, no. It's
[0:49] Speaker 2: like a, they used to have like a little salt
[0:53] Speaker 2: lake there. And then it ended up drying up. So
[0:56] Speaker 2: they built all kind of communities around there. And then
[0:59] Speaker 2: once the stuff started drying up and stuff was getting polluted,
[1:03] Speaker 2: it's like a little ghost town now in a sense.
[1:05] Speaker 1: Really?
[1:06] Speaker 2: And so we were driving back from Vegas one time
[1:09] Speaker 2: and we.
[1:09] Speaker 4: Was just like, yo, pull over, man. We just pulled
[1:11] Speaker 4: over because it looked weird around there.
[1:13] Speaker 2: And then when we got out, it was millions of
[1:15] Speaker 2: dead fish out there. Where is this? Bakersfield?
[1:20] Speaker 4: No, no, it's not that way.
[1:21] Speaker 2: It's like if you were going to Vegas, like Barstow.
[1:25] Speaker 4: Kind of in that area.
[1:26] Speaker 1: I've never heard of this in my life.
[1:28] Speaker 4: Yeah, the Salton Sea.
[1:29] Speaker 2: So that scene reminded me of it. And then when
[1:31] Speaker 2: I watched the little behind the scenes after the episode,
[1:34] Speaker 2: it was like the Salton Sea.
[1:35] Speaker 1: I was like, Oh, so it was that place.
[1:37] Speaker 2: Yeah, it was like, I don't know if they actually
[1:39] Speaker 2: shot there or if that was the inspiration for it.
[1:41] Speaker 1: Gotcha. They mentioned it on the scene. Skeleton heads and stuff.
[1:45] Speaker 2: Yeah. Because it was crazy. We was just like, yo,
[1:48] Speaker 2: why are all these fish dead? And it smelled.
[1:50] Speaker 4: It was crazy.
[1:51] Speaker 1: Was it like Heathcliff fish?
[1:53] Speaker 2: Damn near. But some were more recently dead. So they
[1:57] Speaker 2: still had flesh on them, too.
[1:59] Speaker 1: Are you walking on the ground?
[2:00] Speaker 4: Yeah, we was tiptoeing. I was like, yo, this is crazy.
[2:03] Speaker 4: I ain't never seen nothing like this.
[2:05] Speaker 2: Y'all pray? Huh?
[2:06] Speaker 1: Did y'all pray?
[2:08] Speaker 2: No, I didn't think it was the end of the world,
[2:09] Speaker 2: but I was just like, why is there so many
[2:12] Speaker 2: dead fish out here?
[2:13] Speaker 1: That would have freaked me out a little bit.
[2:14] Speaker 2: Yeah, it was crazy.
[2:16] Speaker 4: But that scene reminded me of that in Lanterns.
[2:18] Speaker 1: So what was the upside down city?
[2:20] Speaker 2: What was going on?
[2:21] Speaker 1: Is that a comic book thing or that's just the show?
[2:24] Speaker 4: I don't know.
[2:24] Speaker 2: Because I'm not really hip to the Lantern lore. I
[2:29] Speaker 2: used to occasionally read the comic books because my brother
[2:31] Speaker 2: had the The Green Lantern Corps.
[2:34] Speaker 4: And I used to think everybody was weird.
[2:36] Speaker 2: I thought everybody was weird looking because it was like
[2:38] Speaker 2: a squirrel had.
[2:39] Speaker 4: A ring, a one-eyed glob had a ring.
[2:44] Speaker 1: I don't know nothing about this.
[2:45] Speaker 2: What the hell is it? Because it's universal. Oh, that's right.
[2:48] Speaker 3: Each sector has a Green Lantern. So it's representative of
[2:51] Speaker 3: who lives there.
[2:52] Speaker 2: Yeah. So it's all kind of alien beings are Lantern Corps.
[2:57] Speaker 1: So somebody's Green Lantern lost there.
[3:00] Speaker 2: You said what?
[3:01] Speaker 1: Somebody's Green Lantern lost the fight there.
[3:03] Speaker 2: That's what I'm assuming.
[3:04] Speaker 1: Because that was the Manhunter vision.
[3:06] Speaker 3: Phrygian said this is Anton City. Yeah, that's what Jon
[3:09] Speaker 3: Stewart said.
[3:10] Speaker 5: Remember, because that's the vision that he got was that
[3:12] Speaker 5: city and what the Manhunter.
[3:13] Speaker 2: That's right, when they plugged him into the thing.
[3:15] Speaker 1: To the Matrix. And the Manhunter cooked everybody there.
[3:17] Speaker 2: Right.
[3:18] Speaker 1: But I thought it was the gas, though.
[3:20] Speaker 3: The fear gas where they start killing each other, right?
[3:22] Speaker 1: Yeah, but so the Manhunter didn't kill him then.
[3:25] Speaker 2: It wasn't the Manhunter. It was the gas. They just
[3:27] Speaker 2: set off fear, a fear gas. Yeah. And then, because
[3:31] Speaker 2: that's what I was like, because everything was getting weird.
[3:34] Speaker 2: Because I know they were trying to use the fear
[3:36] Speaker 2: against him. Yeah.
[3:37] Speaker 4: You know what I'm saying?
[3:38] Speaker 1: Parallax. He also, who was, do we know who the
[3:41] Speaker 1: old boy was in the cloak? Sinestro?
[3:43] Speaker 4: That's Sinestro.
[3:44] Speaker 1: Oh, I didn't see his face.
[3:45] Speaker 2: Yeah, that's Sinestro.
[3:46] Speaker 1: It was out of glare on my TV. I was
[3:47] Speaker 1: watching it during the day, man.
[3:48] Speaker 2: Because Sinestro, he kind of looks.
[3:51] Speaker 1: It's hard, man. Really, that's why I'm laughing.
[3:53] Speaker 2: His color is not that pronounced. It looks like he
[3:55] Speaker 2: just got a bad suntan.
[3:56] Speaker 1: But he's usually way more.
[3:58] Speaker 4: He's usually way more colorful than that in the face.
[4:00] Speaker 1: I just saw the cloak.
[4:01] Speaker 4: I didn't see who it was. Yeah, when he pieced him,
[4:05] Speaker 4: Sinestro was like, He was laying there in the cloak.
[4:08] Speaker 1: That was a very Looney Tunes way to get him.
[4:10] Speaker 2: Oh, yeah.
[4:11] Speaker 1: He was like, take the cloak off.
[4:13] Speaker 4: Ah, you got me.
[4:14] Speaker 1: Like, so that show, you ain't see that coming, man.
[4:17] Speaker 2: Right.
[4:18] Speaker 1: A regular sock out.
[4:19] Speaker 2: He was like. Regular sock out.
[4:20] Speaker 1: Ah.
[4:21] Speaker 4: Because he didn't know he had a surgery on the
[4:23] Speaker 4: hostage tip.
[4:24] Speaker 1: Yeah. Like, does he not feel human?
[4:27] Speaker 2: He's like, yeah, what you going to do now? He's
[4:29] Speaker 2: just this.
[4:29] Speaker 1: Oh. So you don't see the boat coming in the
[4:32] Speaker 1: middle of the night?
[4:32] Speaker 2: Right.
[4:33] Speaker 1: Right.
[4:34] Speaker 4: I was just like, he should have known that was
[4:35] Speaker 4: a century.
[4:36] Speaker 1: That was a cool scene, though. Yeah. When they was
[4:38] Speaker 1: going through the boat, and then it was like all
[4:40] Speaker 1: them apples in there. J.
[4:42] Speaker 3: Alphonse Nicholson plays intensity so well.
[4:46] Speaker 1: He was good when he hopped in that boat.
[4:47] Speaker 2: I was scared a little bit.
[4:48] Speaker 3: When he hopped in that, I was like, ha ha,
[4:51] Speaker 3: I don't like this.
[4:52] Speaker 1: You scared, soldier? I was like, I'm scared at home,
[4:56] Speaker 1: and I'm in my undies watching this.
[4:58] Speaker 2: He got in there quick, man. Hey, tone it down, man.
[5:00] Speaker 2: He was into the boat.
[5:02] Speaker 3: But he had the poncho. But he didn't, but John
[5:05] Speaker 3: didn't put it on. He put it in the little suitcase.
[5:08] Speaker 3: I mean, the little space thing. But let's back up
[5:11] Speaker 3: to the- Back up, yeah.
[5:12] Speaker 2: We shot it here.
[5:12] Speaker 1: We jumped to the end.
[5:13] Speaker 4: We shot it here.
[5:14] Speaker 1: Let's back up to the thing.
[5:15] Speaker 3: A lot of people are like, yo, why John feel
[5:18] Speaker 3: like he got to pay the white girl?
[5:19] Speaker 2: Because he don't want, I feel like he doesn't want
[5:24] Speaker 2: the distraction of- Small town white justice. But 300 bands, Tone?
[5:30] Speaker 2: That's a lot.
[5:31] Speaker 4: Apparently they got it, though.
[5:32] Speaker 2: He got the Richard Mille on his wrist. He look breaded.
[5:35] Speaker 1: Also, if I give you the watch, you got to
[5:37] Speaker 1: come up off the 300 bands.
[5:38] Speaker 2: Yeah.
[5:39] Speaker 1: I'm not giving you the watch and then... No, I'm
[5:41] Speaker 1: not giving you 300 on the top and the watch.
[5:42] Speaker 4: And the watch. How much is that watch?
[5:44] Speaker 1: Them Richard Mille's be A.
[5:47] Speaker 2: What we looking at on low end for a watch
[5:50] Speaker 2: like that?
[5:50] Speaker 1: I wouldn't be surprised if it was north of 150. Okay.
[5:53] Speaker 1: That's what I thought.
[5:54] Speaker 3: Cause James, he didn't watch his go start at 80 grand.
[5:58] Speaker 3: They go from 80 grand to 3 million. So let's
[5:59] Speaker 3: just say that's the lowest end.
[6:02] Speaker 2: So 80 bands, 80 bands got to come above that
[6:05] Speaker 2: three 15.
[6:05] Speaker 1: Yeah.
[6:06] Speaker 2: It should.
[6:07] Speaker 1: Yeah.
[6:07] Speaker 2: I'm deducted. I'm in my head. Like, yo, I gave
[6:10] Speaker 2: you that watch. You took it and skipped off. But
[6:13] Speaker 2: also I still.
[6:14] Speaker 1: Don't believe that blackmail. Like I'm not pressing like, Oh girl,
[6:18] Speaker 1: who's going to believe you?
[6:20] Speaker 2: Yeah, like the blackmail to me is inconsequential to everything
[6:24] Speaker 2: that's going on. Like every time she pops up, I'm
[6:26] Speaker 2: just like, it doesn't carry any gravity for me. No.
[6:30] Speaker 1: I agree. It's not moving the story for me. It's
[6:33] Speaker 1: not moving the.
[6:35] Speaker 5: I really feel pressed that the entire operation is going
[6:38] Speaker 5: to come crashing down when she tells the sheriff.
[6:40] Speaker 4: There's no stakes there for me.
[6:42] Speaker 3: No, I'd be like, girl... I'd be wanting him to
[6:44] Speaker 3: be like, girl, move. Stop coming by my car. I'm
[6:48] Speaker 3: not paying you nothing. She's going to go tell the sheriff.
[6:50] Speaker 1: The sheriff.
[6:51] Speaker 3: I'm telling you like I told you. The sheriff killed
[6:53] Speaker 3: Hal or the baby killed Hal.
[6:56] Speaker 1: Century Hal thinks she did. That's what I'm saying. I
[6:59] Speaker 1: think my working theory... Noah is a manhunter.
[7:04] Speaker 3: Just like that manhunter Zoe had to kill Abin Sur.
[7:09] Speaker 2: Abin Sur, yeah.
[7:10] Speaker 1: She just was like, I had to. So Abin Sur
[7:12] Speaker 1: was a manhunter?
[7:13] Speaker 2: No, he was a Green Lantern.
[7:15] Speaker 4: That's where Hal got the ring from.
[7:17] Speaker 3: Abin Sur. So I feel like either Noah killed... My
[7:24] Speaker 3: working theory is Noah killed Hal Jordan and the sheriff,
[7:28] Speaker 3: as his mom, is protecting him. Because otherwise... Noah be
[7:33] Speaker 3: in the show too much. for him not to be
[7:36] Speaker 3: nothing but a high school. Otherwise, who cares about his
[7:38] Speaker 3: high school thing? The linemen don't even have linemen numbers.
[7:42] Speaker 1: They look like me, you, and Josh.
[7:43] Speaker 3: They were like, give it up for the linemen. I'm like,
[7:45] Speaker 3: these look like receivers. The linemen was wearing number 21. Like,
[7:48] Speaker 3: where are the fat people at? You need a Billy Bob.
[7:52] Speaker 3: You need a hog. You need fat people.
[7:55] Speaker 1: You know they're corn fed out in Rushville. That's the
[7:58] Speaker 1: whole point. Nebraska corn huskers in two counties. Where the
[8:03] Speaker 1: fat whites at? I need Billy Bob. Remember Billy Bob
[8:06] Speaker 1: from Varsity Blues?
[8:07] Speaker 2: Yes.
[8:08] Speaker 1: You need at least one. It's not one fat lineman.
[8:11] Speaker 1: These are all walk-ons, man. None of them kids going
[8:13] Speaker 1: to Nebraska.
[8:14] Speaker 2: I'm going to tell you that.
[8:15] Speaker 3: None of them kids going D1. Ain't no NIL money
[8:18] Speaker 3: in Rushville. But yeah, he had the little thing. I'm like,
[8:21] Speaker 3: they're having entirely too much time from the beginning.
[8:25] Speaker 1: They remember the camera when he was.
[8:26] Speaker 2: Like, throw the football.
[8:27] Speaker 1: No, I was like, who the hell is this kid?
[8:29] Speaker 1: Why do they keep showing this kid?
[8:31] Speaker 4: Because he's the manhunter.
[8:33] Speaker 3: He's the miracle. He's the manhunter. Zoe had a thing
[8:36] Speaker 3: on everybody. It's the only thing that makes sense. The sheriff,
[8:40] Speaker 3: I can't see her killing how they have in the
[8:41] Speaker 3: relationship unless it's to protect her son.
[8:43] Speaker 2: She'd be getting mad emotional. And then when the sheriff
[8:47] Speaker 2: met met up with the Sentry and she was dealing
[8:50] Speaker 2: with those emotions. I was just like, is she emotional
[8:53] Speaker 2: because she killed him and know that this is the Sentry?
[8:56] Speaker 2: Is she worried that the Sentry knows that she in
[8:59] Speaker 2: fact killed him? Or is this real?
[9:02] Speaker 3: Because they saying that the Sentry has some of Hal's consciousness,
[9:06] Speaker 3: some of the ring's sentience.
[9:09] Speaker 1: So he was wearing the ring when he got killed.
[9:12] Speaker 1: He wasn't wearing it when he got killed.
[9:13] Speaker 3: No.
[9:14] Speaker 1: Oh, I thought they took it off.
[9:15] Speaker 4: Because remember, the ring was.
[9:17] Speaker 1: Oh, it was back upstairs. I mean, in space. Basketball
[9:20] Speaker 1: was upstairs.
[9:21] Speaker 4: It was upstairs.
[9:22] Speaker 1: Also, maybe the century doesn't know then.
[9:24] Speaker 2: Right.
[9:24] Speaker 1: The hologram. But she knows. Oh, but she knows.
[9:27] Speaker 4: You know what I'm saying? But she played that well, though,
[9:29] Speaker 4: that emotion.
[9:30] Speaker 1: But not well enough.
[9:31] Speaker 4: From the acting tip.
[9:33] Speaker 1: Not well enough, because Hal was like.
[9:35] Speaker 2: Oh, yeah.
[9:35] Speaker 4: Hal was like, she killed me.
[9:37] Speaker 1: Yeah. I don't know nothing but.
[9:39] Speaker 2: But I would think that, too, if I was the century.
[9:41] Speaker 2: I'd be like, man, she killed me, man. You saying,
[9:44] Speaker 2: you know what I'm saying, we got something going on?
[9:45] Speaker 4: Nah, man.
[9:46] Speaker 2: Because it's always the one closest to you. I watch
[9:48] Speaker 2: forensic files. It's always the husband.
[9:50] Speaker 1: And Century House is not blinded by love.
[9:52] Speaker 3: No.
[9:52] Speaker 2: It sure ain't. He don't have that connection. So he
[9:55] Speaker 2: just like, nah, man. It's always a significant other in
[9:58] Speaker 2: these murder cases.
[10:00] Speaker 3: And that's the only thing that makes sense. Noah makes
[10:06] Speaker 3: more sense to me.
[10:07] Speaker 2: Yeah, I think it's Noah.
[10:08] Speaker 1: Noah makes more sense.
[10:09] Speaker 4: I'm still sitting there.
[10:10] Speaker 3: But I still don't, I guess I don't know the world.
[10:13] Speaker 3: I thought Manhunters were created by Guardians. Somehow she passed
[10:17] Speaker 3: the gene along to Noah. That's the part I don't understand.
[10:21] Speaker 3: Are they born? That's why I don't know. And I
[10:23] Speaker 3: don't want to research it because I actually don't know.
[10:26] Speaker 3: And I feel like they only got one episode.
[10:29] Speaker 4: Yeah, one left.
[10:30] Speaker 1: They got to tell us.
[10:31] Speaker 2: I like doing my research sometimes after everything's all said
[10:34] Speaker 2: and done.
[10:34] Speaker 1: Oh, then I'm fully nervous. Yeah, yeah. You think there's
[10:37] Speaker 1: a world where they don't tell us, though? Who killed
[10:39] Speaker 1: Hal in this?
[10:40] Speaker 2: No way. Really?
[10:42] Speaker 3: I think it's far too risky. You start off the
[10:44] Speaker 3: season with Hal Jordan's dead. You at least have to
[10:48] Speaker 3: do that bookend of who shot Hal.
[10:50] Speaker 1: Otherwise, I'm going to be furious.
[10:52] Speaker 2: Or it could be like an old school Dallas situation
[10:55] Speaker 2: where it's like, who shot JR?
[10:57] Speaker 1: But wasn't that at the end of the season?
[10:58] Speaker 2: Yeah, but we had to wait until next season to
[11:00] Speaker 2: figure out who shot JR.
[11:02] Speaker 1: See, I feel like, but JR didn't get shot up top.
[11:07] Speaker 2: No.
[11:08] Speaker 3: I think because if Hal just died, then maybe.
[11:12] Speaker 1: We found out Hal died at the end of episode one.
[11:14] Speaker 3: At the end of episode one, you realize he's dead
[11:18] Speaker 3: in the pilot. You got to check that box off
[11:20] Speaker 3: to me.
[11:21] Speaker 2: To complete season one. You can't let that linger into
[11:24] Speaker 2: the next season.
[11:25] Speaker 1: They'll be right in the streets. I don't know, man.
[11:28] Speaker 1: They be breaking rules left and right now.
[11:30] Speaker 2: Have they ever done that, though, with a show? You
[11:34] Speaker 2: take a show like Twin Peaks, for example. where the
[11:37] Speaker 2: murder of a certain character is the whole reason for
[11:40] Speaker 2: the season, didn't they close that off? Okay, what about,
[11:49] Speaker 2: what's that other show?
[11:49] Speaker 1: That's like True Detective not finding out the thing at
[11:52] Speaker 1: the end of the season.
[11:53] Speaker 2: You got to. Yeah, they will close that up. You
[11:55] Speaker 2: have to.
[11:56] Speaker 4: But that's an anthology kind of.
[11:58] Speaker 2: I was going to say.
[11:58] Speaker 1: That's true.
[11:59] Speaker 5: But what's the compromise for the ending, though, to go
[12:01] Speaker 5: into season two? We find out who kills how. We
[12:05] Speaker 5: might find out who the Manhunter is, but they go
[12:07] Speaker 5: on a terror and then.
[12:08] Speaker 1: Disappear, maybe? That's... This is a good point. Because I'm
[12:14] Speaker 1: trying to figure out how this ends... that doesn't just
[12:17] Speaker 1: feel like what you said.
[12:18] Speaker 3: If we don't find out who shot, how, and if
[12:21] Speaker 3: that baby, I feel like you could tell me that
[12:23] Speaker 3: who shot, how, and not say where the nose of Manhunter,
[12:26] Speaker 3: because that could be that going.
[12:27] Speaker 2: You can keep that. They don't keep something going into
[12:30] Speaker 2: the next. It's probably going to be Sinestro base.
[12:33] Speaker 1: Yes.
[12:34] Speaker 4: What they're going to keep into the next.
[12:35] Speaker 2: He's probably going to be the big, bad, heavy for
[12:37] Speaker 2: season two, but they got to close up who shot, how,
[12:43] Speaker 2: and as far as your guardian question, uh, Darrell or
[12:47] Speaker 2: Darrell said the Guardians did create the Manhunter, but remember
[12:50] Speaker 2: the Manhunter brought a lot of technology to that town,
[12:54] Speaker 2: like the machine that generated John's skin.
[12:58] Speaker 4: So they were well-engraved.
[12:59] Speaker 2: And remember that machine where the cow came in and
[13:03] Speaker 2: then they slaughtered the cow up? Yeah. Laser key?
[13:06] Speaker 1: Yeah.
[13:07] Speaker 2: Yeah.
[13:07] Speaker 4: I feel bad for that cow, man.
[13:10] Speaker 1: That cow had no idea what was happening.
[13:11] Speaker 2: Man, dog. Come on, man.
[13:13] Speaker 1: This got zipped up.
[13:15] Speaker 4: I didn't like that scene, man.
[13:17] Speaker 2: That guy was like, move.
[13:18] Speaker 1: Because who's moving all.
[13:23] Speaker 3: The.
[13:23] Speaker 5: Noah's got to be moving the plot forward with whatever Zoe.
[13:28] Speaker 1: Zoe?
[13:29] Speaker 2: Yeah.
[13:30] Speaker 1: Zoe told him, remember everything I told you. That's what
[13:34] Speaker 1: I'm saying.
[13:34] Speaker 3: Jay Friedan's saying Noah's to keep the Manhunter line going.
[13:43] Speaker 4: Is he the last one left?
[13:45] Speaker 1: He has to be. Or he has to do something
[13:48] Speaker 1: to be able to keep it moving forward. That's why
[13:50] Speaker 1: they said he killed Hal.
[13:51] Speaker 3: Apparently, the Manhunter got to kill a Green Lantern like
[13:53] Speaker 3: she killed Abin Sur.
[13:54] Speaker 1: She's like, my bad. Was he still a Green Lantern, though?
[13:57] Speaker 1: Abin Sur was a Green Lantern when he got killed.
[13:59] Speaker 3: No, no, no, no.
[13:59] Speaker 1: Hal wasn't still Green Lantern, though.
[14:02] Speaker 2: When?
[14:03] Speaker 1: When he died.
[14:05] Speaker 2: No, he wasn't. Oh, no, you're right. Remember, he got
[14:08] Speaker 2: that ring snatched from John, and John turned it in.
[14:11] Speaker 4: So he was just regular.
[14:14] Speaker 1: Oh, then that theory doesn't hold up. I didn't think
[14:17] Speaker 1: about that.
[14:18] Speaker 5: Well, it could still, but there's still one more missing link.
[14:22] Speaker 5: Maybe Zoe really thought that Jon Stewart was going to
[14:27] Speaker 5: take the ring and move on.
[14:29] Speaker 2: For sure.
[14:30] Speaker 4: Everybody thought that.
[14:31] Speaker 2: That's what threw the ripple in.
[14:33] Speaker 1: I don't know, man.
[14:36] Speaker 4: I'm sure Jon created some kind of rift.
[14:38] Speaker 1: Or she knew that Jon was going to come back
[14:40] Speaker 1: by killing Hal, get the ring.
[14:44] Speaker 1: And maybe they're setting that up to try and kill
[14:46] Speaker 1: John in this last episode. Well, they know they ain't
[14:49] Speaker 1: going to kill that nigga, man.
[14:50] Speaker 4: Oh, no, they can't.
[14:52] Speaker 2: Nah.
[14:52] Speaker 1: Did you believe him when he was rapping OutKast?
[14:54] Speaker 2: No.
[14:55] Speaker 1: No, I didn't believe him.
[14:56] Speaker 2: Nobody seems to. I was saying, this is what I
[14:58] Speaker 2: was saying during my watch party. I was like, when
[15:00] Speaker 2: people sing along to songs or rap songs a lot
[15:04] Speaker 2: of times in movies and TV, they never really.
[15:08] Speaker 4: Sound on rhythm.
[15:09] Speaker 2: Yeah unless the song is actually playing within the scene
[15:13] Speaker 2: usually sometimes they can sync up but a lot of
[15:15] Speaker 2: times so every time he would start rapping the outcast
[15:18] Speaker 2: joint it never sounded.
[15:19] Speaker 5: Right it it always sounded like um not a stipulation
[15:24] Speaker 5: but like a different variation of the.
[15:26] Speaker 2: Song yeah it didn't sound like what he was listening
[15:30] Speaker 2: to at all and i was just like what are
[15:32] Speaker 2: What is he doing?
[15:33] Speaker 3: Sound like he might have been just rapping it with
[15:35] Speaker 3: no music underneath and they tried to put the song under.
[15:37] Speaker 2: That's what I feel like in post.
[15:39] Speaker 1: Yeah, you can't hear it. It never sounds.
[15:41] Speaker 4: I don't think he could hear.
[15:42] Speaker 2: I don't think he could hear the song as it
[15:45] Speaker 2: was playing. Yeah.
[15:46] Speaker 4: Because it didn't sound.
[15:47] Speaker 2: But it wasn't because he was British. I wouldn't take
[15:50] Speaker 2: it as because he was British. And then when he
[15:51] Speaker 2: was in the boat, it didn't sound right again.
[15:55] Speaker 1: It also sounded like he didn't really know the song
[15:57] Speaker 1: like that either.
[15:58] Speaker 3: Yeah.
[15:59] Speaker 1: That's what made it more disbelievable for me. Yeah. It
[16:01] Speaker 1: was like, Like he just learned it for that scene.
[16:03] Speaker 1: He read it in the script and kind of made
[16:05] Speaker 1: his own version of it.
[16:07] Speaker 2: But some people really can't pitch songs correctly.
[16:09] Speaker 4: That's how Chaz is.
[16:12] Speaker 2: Every time Chaz would sing a song, I was just like,
[16:14] Speaker 2: you never sound right when you're singing the song when
[16:17] Speaker 2: you're on the court.
[16:18] Speaker 1: Something's off about this.
[16:19] Speaker 4: You know what I'm saying? I'm like, why are you
[16:21] Speaker 4: saying it like that?
[16:23] Speaker 3: The thing is, you got to have a... There's an
[16:25] Speaker 3: OutKast song that I know. The common denominator, the nigga numerator.
[16:31] Speaker 3: I never know who the hated nigga catered to your ego.
[16:33] Speaker 1: That OutKast song?
[16:35] Speaker 2: Yeah.
[16:35] Speaker 3: I'm sorry like a dog who's a cousin to Calico.
[16:37] Speaker 3: Vision Puerto Rico, be on the street like Chico. The
[16:39] Speaker 3: bar she lodged and got a lock in the garage.
[16:40] Speaker 3: You got to be like, oh nigga, you know that.
[16:42] Speaker 2: Yeah, for sure.
[16:43] Speaker 1: It didn't feel like you.
[16:45] Speaker 3: When we was listening to OutKast, it was like Walkman
[16:48] Speaker 3: walking around.
[16:49] Speaker 1: I just keep listening to this OutKast song.
[16:51] Speaker 2: Right.
[16:52] Speaker 1: I feel like.
[16:53] Speaker 3: there's a song all of us know, and maybe not OutKast,
[16:57] Speaker 3: that you don't have, if you play that.
[17:00] Speaker 1: Song, it locks in your mind.
[17:01] Speaker 2: Immediately lock in.
[17:02] Speaker 1: And there is a club too close to fool.
[17:05] Speaker 3: I was like, you ain't know it like common denominator,
[17:08] Speaker 3: nigga numerator, never know who the head of nigga carry
[17:10] Speaker 3: to your ego.
[17:11] Speaker 2: Especially when he was singing, it wasn't like lyrically dense.
[17:14] Speaker 2: So it was like the easiest.
[17:15] Speaker 4: Song to nail.
[17:16] Speaker 2: Yeah. I was still just like, It wasn't like he
[17:20] Speaker 2: had to do Equimini when Andre closed it out. It
[17:24] Speaker 2: was just like, hmm.
[17:27] Speaker 4: This don't sound right.
[17:29] Speaker 3: Now, here's what I didn't expect out of this show
[17:32] Speaker 3: that I thought was good. We've been told basically how
[17:37] Speaker 3: Jordan's dad died, and that's why he has no fear,
[17:40] Speaker 3: because he has nobody to lose. I thought Hal Jordan's
[17:43] Speaker 3: dad died in a plane crash.
[17:45] Speaker 4: Me too.
[17:46] Speaker 3: His dad had suicidal tendencies, suicidal ideation, committed suicide.
[17:51] Speaker 1: Yeah. Second in the family at least.
[17:53] Speaker 4: That's crazy.
[17:54] Speaker 1: And basically walked Hal down the line of suicide. That's
[17:59] Speaker 1: a total... If you look at Hal Jordan from that lens.
[18:02] Speaker 2: Yeah.
[18:02] Speaker 1: Remember the alien.
[18:03] Speaker 3: From episode one or two was like, I feel like
[18:07] Speaker 3: you want to die, Hal Jordan.
[18:08] Speaker 1: Remember he was interviewing the alien? Yeah. Yeah.
[18:11] Speaker 3: So, it was just really interesting, and somebody online was
[18:17] Speaker 3: saying that baseball, him not letting the baseball go, was
[18:21] Speaker 3: a metaphor for him being different than his dad.
[18:23] Speaker 1: Yeah. Remember, his dad was just like... Come on, let
[18:25] Speaker 1: it go, man. Subtext, subtext, man. Kill yourself.
[18:29] Speaker 2: Right.
[18:29] Speaker 1: That's why I like this show.
[18:30] Speaker 3: If you're not paying attention, you just think he's talking
[18:33] Speaker 3: about right now.
[18:34] Speaker 2: In my head, I'm like.
[18:36] Speaker 3: Wait a second, his dad telling him he finna commit suicide?
[18:39] Speaker 3: And you could kill yourself too?
[18:41] Speaker 2: You too could do it, man.
[18:43] Speaker 3: Just let it go. It's like, we ain't talking about
[18:46] Speaker 3: baseball no more. His dad was like, hey man, kill yourself, man.
[18:51] Speaker 1: It's cool. My daddy did it. I'm finna do it.
[18:54] Speaker 4: All the kids are doing it.
[18:55] Speaker 2: It's the coolest.
[18:57] Speaker 4: Remember that one?
[18:59] Speaker 2: And Billy Madison, when he peed on his cell just
[19:02] Speaker 2: to save his friend. We're all peeing on ourselves. This
[19:05] Speaker 2: is the coolest. And he was like, yeah. All the
[19:09] Speaker 2: kids with themselves.
[19:10] Speaker 1: Yeah.
[19:11] Speaker 2: Yeah, because I was shocked to find that out. I
[19:13] Speaker 2: was like, oh, he killed himself.
[19:14] Speaker 3: Well, he told us he died. The whole time, dad
[19:16] Speaker 3: died in a playing class. Like, all the other characters
[19:19] Speaker 3: are telling us that.
[19:20] Speaker 2: Right.
[19:20] Speaker 1: It never dawned on me that we don't know if
[19:22] Speaker 1: that's true.
[19:23] Speaker 2: Right.
[19:24] Speaker 1: Everybody just believes it, so we think it's true.
[19:26] Speaker 4: Face value, man.
[19:27] Speaker 1: Face value, McGee. I believed you. And his dad.
[19:31] Speaker 3: So now, Hal being like, because I was like, when
[19:34] Speaker 3: I was watching, I was like, why won't he put
[19:35] Speaker 3: this baseball down?
[19:36] Speaker 1: Right, right.
[19:37] Speaker 3: And then that's also a great metaphor for him not
[19:39] Speaker 3: wanting to give up and let the lanterns come, let
[19:42] Speaker 3: John take the lantern thing.
[19:42] Speaker 1: He's like, as a kid.
[19:44] Speaker 4: That's how I was taking it.
[19:45] Speaker 1: For sure.
[19:46] Speaker 3: Yeah.
[19:47] Speaker 1: And I love when shows don't, they don't overload you
[19:49] Speaker 1: up to, Right.
[19:50] Speaker 3: We get that Hal don't want John Stewart to replace him,
[19:55] Speaker 3: but they don't have to be like, here's why. When
[19:56] Speaker 3: Hal Jordan was 80, played the baseball.
[19:59] Speaker 4: Tyler Perry.
[20:00] Speaker 2: Come on, man. I'm trying to meet him.
[20:04] Speaker 4: That's how Tyler Perry would do it.
[20:07] Speaker 3: I don't care about my political aspirations and ambitions.
[20:12] Speaker 2: He would give you all the character, motivations, and inspirations
[20:16] Speaker 2: in the first 10 minutes. He doing this because of this.
[20:21] Speaker 2: They doing this because of this. Right off the top.
[20:24] Speaker 2: We still got nine episodes left, Tyler Perry. I want
[20:26] Speaker 2: everybody to know off the top. They're getting back together
[20:30] Speaker 2: because he got the new job down there at the plant.
[20:33] Speaker 2: He opened up a new law firm. He cheated, but
[20:35] Speaker 2: he came back and he got back together. That's what's
[20:37] Speaker 2: going on right now. The only thing I ain't going
[20:40] Speaker 2: to tell y'all is why a person is so evil.
[20:43] Speaker 2: That's just who they are. Oh, my God.
[20:47] Speaker 1: That's it.
[20:51] Speaker 4: You can still meet Tyler Perry, man.
[20:53] Speaker 2: We got notes on the writing.
[20:56] Speaker 3: I feel like if we met, you'd be like, man,
[20:57] Speaker 3: nice to meet you. Why everybody got to be evil
[20:59] Speaker 3: straight up?
[21:00] Speaker 1: I'm bringing it up. In the party? I want to
[21:04] Speaker 1: take a quick break from the show to talk about
[21:05] Speaker 1: one of our sponsors.
[21:06] Speaker 3: I need to tell you about this new sports trading
[21:09] Speaker 3: app called Polymarket. It's the best new way to trade sports.
[21:13] Speaker 3: In the past, if you wanted action on the game...
[21:15] Speaker 3: You put some money in and if your team was
[21:17] Speaker 3: doing well and you wanted to cash out, they'd lock
[21:20] Speaker 3: the trade or take a huge fee. But Polymarket is
[21:23] Speaker 3: a prediction market. It's a stock exchange for sports. Buying
[21:26] Speaker 3: in and selling out on your terms. When your team

[21:31] Speaker 3: it off at 40% when they come back to double
[21:34] Speaker 3: your money. I've tried them all and Polymarket is simply
[21:36] Speaker 3: the best prediction market.
[21:38] Speaker 1: Better than DraftKings, FanDuel, Couchy, you name it.

[22:10] Speaker 1: I'm going to be like, hey, this is Tyler Perry.
[22:12] Speaker 2: Hey.
[22:12] Speaker 1: Tyler Perry.
[22:13] Speaker 4: Tyler Perry, man.
[22:14] Speaker 1: Nice to meet you, man. Tyler.
[22:15] Speaker 4: Props on everything you've done.
[22:17] Speaker 1: Thank you, brother.
[22:21] Speaker 2: So wait. In this meeting. I'm Tyler at a party. Okay.
[22:25] Speaker 2: So we chilling.
[22:26] Speaker 1: We chilling.
[22:27] Speaker 4: Tyler Perry, man.
[22:28] Speaker 3: Hey, man.
[22:28] Speaker 1: What's up, man?
[22:28] Speaker 2: How come you never tell us why your characters are
[22:31] Speaker 2: so evil? What you mean, man?
[22:33] Speaker 4: You never really write that in. None of your characters
[22:35] Speaker 4: are great.
[22:37] Speaker 1: No, I just feel like they're great.
[22:40] Speaker 4: No, no.
[22:42] Speaker 2: When I look at the husband in that movie, what
[22:44] Speaker 2: was the movie where Megan Good was married to?
[22:48] Speaker 1: Acrimony?
[22:49] Speaker 4: No, not Acrimony.
[22:51] Speaker 1: Oh, married to Corey Hardick?
[22:53] Speaker 2: Corey Hardick.
[22:53] Speaker 4: And Corey Hardick was just a jerk. I've done so
[22:58] Speaker 4: many movies. Well, let's take it back to Daddy's Little Girls.
[23:00] Speaker 1: Divorce in Black?
[23:01] Speaker 2: Huh?
[23:01] Speaker 1: Was it Divorce in Black?
[23:03] Speaker 2: Something in Black, I think. And he was just a jerk,
[23:08] Speaker 2: and it was just like, where's the gray? Where's the
[23:12] Speaker 2: gray for him? Show us why she would even latch
[23:16] Speaker 2: on to him. Tasha Smith, just evil and daddy's little girl.
[23:20] Speaker 2: What if Tyler's just.
[23:21] Speaker 1: Like, man, I don't care what y'all think. Nice to
[23:23] Speaker 1: meet you.
[23:23] Speaker 4: We know, though.
[23:25] Speaker 2: You still gonna say that? Yeah, man. I know you
[23:28] Speaker 2: don't care. If it's working, it's working. But you can
[23:32] Speaker 2: just elevate even more because now you can get us
[23:34] Speaker 2: blacks that want the gray.
[23:35] Speaker 4: Now you can get us blacks that's like, man, watch
[23:37] Speaker 4: out Tyler Perry. You can get us as well. Then
[23:40] Speaker 4: you can be worth $ 10 billion.
[23:41] Speaker 1: I made it in four days, man. It's over, Tyler.
[23:43] Speaker 2: That's the problem, man. You're making it too quick. Take
[23:46] Speaker 2: your time, man. You know why we love Ryan Coogler's stuff?
[23:50] Speaker 2: and why it grosses 300 million instead of the usual
[23:54] Speaker 2: tap outs that you have. Because you tap out at
[23:56] Speaker 2: the box office at like 80, 90 million.
[23:58] Speaker 3: I ain't even been in the box office in 10 years.
[24:00] Speaker 3: I've been with Netflix and Amazon. That box office is old.
[24:03] Speaker 3: I be number one every time.
[24:04] Speaker 1: What you got to say about that? It's going to
[24:05] Speaker 1: be quick numbers, then the fade off. I'm number one
[24:07] Speaker 1: every time. But you could be.
[24:08] Speaker 4: Number one with staying power and cultural footprint.
[24:11] Speaker 1: I don't care about nothing but number one. Stay in
[24:13] Speaker 1: power with these balls, nigga. I'm taller.
[24:16] Speaker 4: Hey, man.
[24:16] Speaker 2: You going to take off in a jet pack?
[24:20] Speaker 1: How'd you get that? Have fun walking up on the 405, nigga.
[24:29] Speaker 2: You know what else I noticed?
[24:30] Speaker 1: He just puts his hands out like Iron Man. Like,
[24:32] Speaker 1: how'd you get that? From number one on Netflix for
[24:34] Speaker 1: nearest broke boy.
[24:35] Speaker 2: His dress shoes got thrusters at the bottom.
[24:39] Speaker 4: And then.
[24:43] Speaker 2: That's why you broke like Teddy Riley called you broke
[24:45] Speaker 2: that time. Oh, he going to call me broke for sure.
[24:47] Speaker 1: Teddy Riley called you broke.
[24:48] Speaker 2: That's why you broke now because you over here overthinking, Mr.
[24:50] Speaker 3: Gray.
[24:51] Speaker 2: You gray and broke.
[24:53] Speaker 1: Oh, my God.
[24:54] Speaker 4: I'd be like, but, you know, as a consumer.
[24:57] Speaker 2: But so I noticed, too, with Tyler Perry, like when
[25:02] Speaker 2: there's a hot guy. He gonna scoop that man up immediately.
[25:07] Speaker 1: Your boy from a different world.
[25:09] Speaker 2: As soon as the women be like, ooh, Tyler Perry
[25:13] Speaker 2: be like, let.
[25:15] Speaker 4: Me get you in here.
[25:16] Speaker 2: That's why he ain't get me.
[25:18] Speaker 4: You could be the nice guy or you could be the.
[25:20] Speaker 2: Evil, abusive boyfriend.
[25:23] Speaker 3: People be like, why you ain't work with Tyler? I'm
[25:24] Speaker 3: just regular looking. I'm not like, oh my God, Kev.
[25:30] Speaker 3: I'm just Toyota Camry.
[25:33] Speaker 1: And I know that.
[25:36] Speaker 2: That's when you're the Camry.
[25:37] Speaker 1: Maybe S.E. was hitting the window. You don't know there's
[25:42] Speaker 1: a Camry.
[25:42] Speaker 2: Yeah. A Lamborghini? Oh, my God. Lamborghini Urus. Camry?
[25:47] Speaker 4: So Tyler Perry has a certain visual aesthetic.
[25:51] Speaker 1: What?
[25:52] Speaker 4: When it comes to the men.
[25:53] Speaker 2: Yes.
[25:55] Speaker 1: For sure.
[25:56] Speaker 4: Regular men can't get up in there.
[25:58] Speaker 1: You think they're going to... Regular bank teller guy, this
[26:03] Speaker 1: beautiful nigga in the world.
[26:04] Speaker 2: Muscles, muscles. Tall.
[26:08] Speaker 1: Small.
[26:09] Speaker 2: Muscles.
[26:10] Speaker 1: If you want me to lead, Muscles McGee.
[26:13] Speaker 4: He don't even do the regular sidekicks, does he?
[26:16] Speaker 1: Everybody's beautiful, man.
[26:17] Speaker 2: I'm thinking about the cast of Why Did I Get
[26:20] Speaker 2: Married 3.
[26:21] Speaker 4: Michael Jai White is a leading man.
[26:24] Speaker 2: Yes. Jill Scott's husband now is like a Handsome, leading man,
[26:31] Speaker 2: dude with the gray. Lamar Rucker.
[26:33] Speaker 1: Yeah. Lemon love Lamar Rucker.
[26:34] Speaker 4: Exactly.
[26:35] Speaker 1: Even with the gray. They love him when he was black.
[26:37] Speaker 2: They love him with the gray.
[26:38] Speaker 1: Silver Fox.
[26:39] Speaker 2: He got the silver coochie hair the women have. All
[26:42] Speaker 2: the young dudes in there. Oh, my God. Kids everywhere.
[26:46] Speaker 2: The young dude Taraji was dating. It's a certain visual aesthetic.
[26:50] Speaker 3: I mean, but for the most part, not everybody, but
[26:54] Speaker 3: a lot of people in Hollywood are good looking.
[26:56] Speaker 1: Yeah. Especially women. Men, you can be ugly.
[27:01] Speaker 2: Yeah, because it's a lot of regular looking dudes in Hollywood. Regular.
[27:05] Speaker 1: Killing. Fat, ugly.
[27:07] Speaker 4: Oscar nominated, salaried up.
[27:09] Speaker 2: Be in there. Regular.
[27:11] Speaker 1: Women, you don't see ugly women.
[27:15] Speaker 2: I feel like they starting to spread out a little
[27:19] Speaker 2: bit more. I don't want to put certain women on
[27:21] Speaker 2: blast by name. Don't you dare say a word. Text
[27:23] Speaker 2: me separate. Text me who's ugly.
[27:26] Speaker 3: But if you're funny, they'll let you be a little hefty.
[27:29] Speaker 2: Yeah.
[27:30] Speaker 3: But if you want to be the lead of a drama,
[27:32] Speaker 3: for the most part, not horror.
[27:33] Speaker 1: I'm like, drama, you got to be.
[27:36] Speaker 2: Involving romance.
[27:38] Speaker 3: I think a lot, to me, that's why Gal Gadot
[27:40] Speaker 3: be working.
[27:41] Speaker 1: Because it clearly ain't the acting.
[27:43] Speaker 2: No. Not at all.
[27:44] Speaker 1: It clearly ain't the acting. Kal-El, no! Get up, champagne
[27:50] Speaker 1: for the Nile! They like, forget the acting. But man,
[27:53] Speaker 1: gorgeous face.
[27:54] Speaker 2: Get her in there.
[27:54] Speaker 3: Who cares how she says the line? Because she start talking,
[27:58] Speaker 3: I be like, oh man, just cut it off.
[28:02] Speaker 1: If she's in the movie, I'm out. I can't. But
[28:04] Speaker 1: I was in Wonder Woman, like, man, shut up. You
[28:07] Speaker 1: didn't like the first one? I don't like when she
[28:09] Speaker 1: says words. I don't, I ain't believe the word y'all know.
[28:13] Speaker 2: I let it slide because I could imagine Wonder Woman
[28:19] Speaker 2: talking differently than us.
[28:23] Speaker 1: As much as Gal Gadot does.
[28:24] Speaker 2: Yeah. Like I could have met, cause she's not, she's
[28:27] Speaker 2: not of America. She's not going to come out sounding British.
[28:30] Speaker 2: She's not going to come out sounding American.
[28:31] Speaker 1: It ain't even the accent.
[28:32] Speaker 2: So I was giving, I was still giving a little
[28:34] Speaker 2: grace on the way she was talking. Steve Trevor and
[28:37] Speaker 2: like talking like that.
[28:38] Speaker 4: And I was like, all right, that's how the Amazonians,
[28:41] Speaker 4: you know what I'm saying?
[28:41] Speaker 1: But the other Amazonians didn't talk like that.
[28:44] Speaker 4: No, they, they was just like.
[28:45] Speaker 1: They was like, man, we, we regular, I don't know
[28:48] Speaker 1: what she is. Galal, get to the top now. Oh,
[28:52] Speaker 1: Even Arnold Schwarzenegger, who is axing it up, I still
[28:55] Speaker 1: believe him.
[28:56] Speaker 4: For sure.
[28:57] Speaker 1: Get to the chopper.
[28:58] Speaker 2: I couldn't get another Arnold back in the day.
[29:00] Speaker 1: I was like, sign me up and get to the chopper.
[29:02] Speaker 2: I'll be back. He leaned in to say that.
[29:05] Speaker 4: I'll be back. I was like, yeah.
[29:07] Speaker 1: Yeah.
[29:08] Speaker 2: He coming back, y'all.
[29:09] Speaker 1: Enough champagne to fill the now.
[29:11] Speaker 2: Cut.
[29:12] Speaker 1: Kevin, you're at home.
[29:13] Speaker 2: Cut.
[29:14] Speaker 3: Let's take it again, y'all. I'm just directing this now. Yeah,
[29:19] Speaker 3: can you just say enough champagne.
[29:20] Speaker 2: To fill the Nile regular?
[29:22] Speaker 1: Enough champagne to fill the Nile.
[29:23] Speaker 3: Cut! Hey, man, just give me Tasha Smith, y'all. If
[29:28] Speaker 3: it were up to me, Tasha Smith would have been
[29:30] Speaker 3: Wonder Woman.
[29:30] Speaker 4: Let me tell you something, man. Tasha Smith is somebody.
[29:34] Speaker 2: That don't miss.
[29:35] Speaker 1: She was my favorite part of that movie. She was
[29:38] Speaker 1: so funny. Did you watch The Corner?
[29:42] Speaker 2: Yes.
[29:43] Speaker 1: Tasha Smith can't do wrong to me. Tasha Smith was
[29:45] Speaker 1: in there? Yeah!
[29:54] Speaker 2: Was she the main lady?
[29:55] Speaker 1: Let me see. Hold on.
[29:58] Speaker 2: Am I tripping?
[30:05] Speaker 4: No, that's, what's her name?
[30:08] Speaker 1: Candy Alexander.
[30:08] Speaker 4: That's Candy Alexander.
[30:09] Speaker 1: Nah, Tasha Smith in there.
[30:11] Speaker 4: Oh, but Candy was the main.
[30:13] Speaker 2: Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, Candy was the main. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
[30:15] Speaker 1: She played Ronnie.
[30:16] Speaker 4: I don't remember her in the corner like that.
[30:18] Speaker 1: Yeah, I don't think she was main, main. Yeah. But
[30:21] Speaker 1: I feel like I wish Tasha Smith had more stuff
[30:23] Speaker 1: to do.
[30:24] Speaker 2: She's one of them ones, like every time I see her,
[30:26] Speaker 2: she delivers. The first time I really took her in
[30:29] Speaker 2: was ATL. She was the mother of them twins, and
[30:32] Speaker 2: she was funny.
[30:33] Speaker 1: And I was just like.
[30:34] Speaker 4: Who was that? And she's a hell of a director.
[30:38] Speaker 1: Yeah, and she gave me money personally to start an
[30:40] Speaker 1: acting class.
[30:41] Speaker 4: That's amazing.
[30:43] Speaker 1: And I was unemployed. Tasha Smith held me down.
[30:47] Speaker 4: Man.
[30:47] Speaker 3: Me, Jay, and Ant flew to New York to do
[30:49] Speaker 3: her acting class with no money. We went straight from
[30:51] Speaker 3: the plane to her acting class.
[30:52] Speaker 2: Oh, that's amazing.
[30:53] Speaker 1: Fell asleep. She was so nice. Her and Sidra are amazing.
[30:58] Speaker 4: That's amazing.
[30:58] Speaker 1: But anyway, back to Lanterns.
[31:01] Speaker 2: I think....
[31:03] Speaker 3: It feels like, and I hope they don't do this,
[31:05] Speaker 3: it feels like they're trying to make a way that
[31:07] Speaker 3: Hal gonna be in season two. And I feel like
[31:09] Speaker 3: you can't make the choice to kill him and continue him.
[31:13] Speaker 3: People are like, maybe he didn't even really die. I'm like, nah,
[31:15] Speaker 3: he died, y'all. And the ring is out of charge.
[31:20] Speaker 3: By the way, I need to make this point real
[31:21] Speaker 3: quick while you're thinking of this. Apple.
[31:24] Speaker 4: Apple.
[31:25] Speaker 1: You see how long that ring is going on 5%?
[31:27] Speaker 2: I was saying that too.
[31:29] Speaker 3: Get with them Green Lantern people because I know the.
[31:32] Speaker 1: Ring is an Android.
[31:33] Speaker 2: He was on 5%.
[31:35] Speaker 1: If the ring was an Apple product, that ring would
[31:38] Speaker 1: have been dead. Ain't no hologram.
[31:40] Speaker 4: It would have been dead as a cemetery.
[31:41] Speaker 1: Bingong.
[31:42] Speaker 4: As soon as he said, oh, the century. Man, what
[31:44] Speaker 4: the hell is going on? It would have been that quick.
[31:49] Speaker 4: The century would have been like, wait a minute.
[31:50] Speaker 1: Am I? Fuck. Fuck.
[31:56] Speaker 2: This has been the longest 5% I've ever seen.
[31:58] Speaker 3: The ring is an android. Both on the alien tip
[32:04] Speaker 3: and the operating system. Ain't no way Steve Jobs didn't
[32:06] Speaker 3: have nothing to do with that.
[32:07] Speaker 1: Man.
[32:08] Speaker 3: That 5% for three. The ring ain't never been fully charged.
[32:11] Speaker 3: That's the only thing Apple about it. It ain't never
[32:13] Speaker 3: been fully charged. They done plugged it in episode four.
[32:16] Speaker 3: Next time you got it.
[32:19] Speaker 2: Low charge. They could have sent three texts. The ring's
[32:22] Speaker 2: back to low.
[32:24] Speaker 4: That ring been hanging on, though.
[32:27] Speaker 2: Man.
[32:27] Speaker 4: Because I've noticed that, too. I'm like, yo, this ring's
[32:29] Speaker 4: still going strong.
[32:30] Speaker 1: Yes.
[32:32] Speaker 4: Is that partially because... They.
[32:34] Speaker 1: Need it for the plot, man.
[32:36] Speaker 4: Well, it's definitely a plot device.
[32:38] Speaker 2: But also, too, they incorporated that in because John can
[32:41] Speaker 2: keep stuff going with minimal ring use.
[32:44] Speaker 1: Yeah.
[32:45] Speaker 4: And so that allows it to.
[32:47] Speaker 1: Well, remember they said that.
[32:51] Speaker 1: John was keeping the hologram going with no ring at all.
[32:54] Speaker 2: Hologram.
[32:55] Speaker 4: Nice.
[32:56] Speaker 2: Hologram. The way that he had the bird going. Yeah.
[32:59] Speaker 1: Now he's just keeping... He's just conjuring this.
[33:01] Speaker 2: That's why you're getting more battery life.
[33:04] Speaker 1: Yeah, because he.
[33:05] Speaker 2: John is just... It'd be like if I could text
[33:07] Speaker 2: you without using my phone.
[33:09] Speaker 1: Yeah, he's just like.
[33:10] Speaker 4: Kev, I.
[33:11] Speaker 2: Take my turn at the pool.
[33:13] Speaker 1: Thought your phone was dead.
[33:14] Speaker 4: Nah, man, I'm doing this.
[33:15] Speaker 1: Kev, I'm on the way.
[33:16] Speaker 4: Yeah, on the way. I could just... Send that while
[33:20] Speaker 4: I'm driving.
[33:21] Speaker 1: Oh, my God.
[33:23] Speaker 3: But, yeah, I think there's some fan theories that John's
[33:27] Speaker 3: going to get the yellow ring from Sinestro and have
[33:30] Speaker 3: so much willpower that it go from yellow to green.
[33:32] Speaker 3: I don't even know if that's how rings work.
[33:34] Speaker 4: I don't know if they got time for that, though.
[33:36] Speaker 2: Well, they can't do it.
[33:37] Speaker 1: What's the compromise, man? I think they go close one
[33:41] Speaker 1: door and probably open two.
[33:43] Speaker 4: Because they got to open the Sinestro door fully.
[33:46] Speaker 3: Got to open up the Sinestro door. Because there really was,
[33:49] Speaker 3: I guess, honestly, Zoe was the villain for season one.
[33:53] Speaker 3: We didn't know that early, but we knew we was
[33:55] Speaker 3: looking for who shot how. And I guess that's the
[33:57] Speaker 3: second villain, so to speak. And then Sinestro broke out
[34:01] Speaker 3: of prison. He's on Oa, or wherever that planet was,
[34:05] Speaker 3: seeing Salty. So- I think they opened the door for Sinestro,
[34:10] Speaker 3: and he's like, come with me.
[34:12] Speaker 5: Or what if we find out that Hal let Sinestro out?
[34:16] Speaker 1: I think he did. That's what I'm saying, because you're
[34:18] Speaker 1: not breaking out of there, man. No. That's space command.
[34:22] Speaker 1: That's space command.
[34:22] Speaker 2: What's he been saying? He broke him out, didn't he?
[34:25] Speaker 1: Guy or Hal? Guy. Guy said Hal broke him out?
[34:29] Speaker 4: I thought that's what it was saying.
[34:32] Speaker 2: But then I was thinking, because I was like, yo,
[34:35] Speaker 2: if Hal broke him out, how did Hal get there?
[34:37] Speaker 4: With no ring.
[34:40] Speaker 2: Because remember, Hal didn't have the ring. Unless he broke
[34:45] Speaker 2: them out before him and John fought.
[34:47] Speaker 3: John socked him out. When Hal was in the rubble,
[34:49] Speaker 3: John took the ring. Hal never got it back.
[34:52] Speaker 4: To my knowledge, no.
[34:53] Speaker 1: He did 10 years in prison.
[34:54] Speaker 4: Because remember, he had to have Guy go get it.
[34:58] Speaker 1: He left it with the Guardian. Yeah. What about that
[35:03] Speaker 1: little black thing?
[35:04] Speaker 3: Maybe he used that little dark matter thing.
[35:08] Speaker 1: Maybe he just put that in the GPS. The Looney Tunes,
[35:11] Speaker 1: the Looney Tunes hole.
[35:14] Speaker 3: Maybe you can tell that hole where you want to go.
[35:17] Speaker 1: Like, hey man, take me to Spasska band. Because we
[35:19] Speaker 1: don't know how that works. Take me inside the... The cell. Yeah,
[35:25] Speaker 1: if you.
[35:25] Speaker 2: Could just travel around with the little Looney Tunes hold,
[35:28] Speaker 2: then the sky's the limit.
[35:29] Speaker 1: You know how convenient that would be?
[35:30] Speaker 2: Oh, my God.
[35:32] Speaker 1: Oh, my God.
[35:33] Speaker 4: I got to get something from the crib.
[35:34] Speaker 3: There you go.
[35:39] Speaker 4: I forgot my lip.
[35:40] Speaker 1: And I would be opening it up and putting my
[35:42] Speaker 1: hand in New Orleans.
[35:43] Speaker 2: Give me a shrimp parboil. Grabbing grits whole.
[35:48] Speaker 1: Listen. Let me go get a cat's deli sandwich real quick.
[35:52] Speaker 2: Hey, Kev, you're supposed to save the world with that. Yeah,
[35:55] Speaker 2: hold on, man. I got this cat's deli sandwich.
[35:59] Speaker 1: Have you tried this sandwich?
[36:00] Speaker 2: Hold on, hold on.
[36:01] Speaker 1: To die for. I mean, not, you know.
[36:03] Speaker 2: You know what I'm saying? I love Miami Cubans, man.
[36:06] Speaker 2: Cuban sandwich in Miami?
[36:07] Speaker 4: These are great.
[36:09] Speaker 1: The portal's only got 5% charge.
[36:10] Speaker 2: Yeah, hold on.
[36:11] Speaker 1: You got to try this piece of pizza out in Chicago.
[36:13] Speaker 1: It's called Italian Fiesta. What?
[36:15] Speaker 2: What? Get the Italian beef from Portillo. Quit. Not paying
[36:21] Speaker 2: for nothing. Just reaching in, grabbing at all people's plates.
[36:25] Speaker 3: I'm opening it, getting a scoop full of sangria from Spain.
[36:29] Speaker 3: You see a black hand in your restaurant.
[36:32] Speaker 2: What's that, man?
[36:33] Speaker 3: This is restaurant we went to in Spain one time.
[36:36] Speaker 3: I ain't got the points to get over that.
[36:38] Speaker 2: I'm coming here two-handed for the two-hand scoop.
[36:41] Speaker 3: Man.
[36:43] Speaker 1: You can get the crispy edge pancakes from Cracker Barrel.
[36:45] Speaker 4: I get it from anywhere.
[36:46] Speaker 3: The South Cracker Barrel. I firmly believe if your Cracker
[36:49] Speaker 3: Barrel ain't based in a racist county, the food ain't good.
[36:53] Speaker 3: That's why the Cracker Barrel's out here. There's not enough
[36:56] Speaker 3: racism in the soil.
[36:57] Speaker 4: Yeah, they're not as good this way. Arizona, though, is solid.
[37:02] Speaker 3: The more racist the state is, the better the.
[37:07] Speaker 2: Cracker Barrel tastes.
[37:08] Speaker 1: Big build the wall over there.
[37:09] Speaker 2: Yeah.
[37:10] Speaker 1: That's Maricopa County in Phoenix.
[37:12] Speaker 4: That's facts.
[37:12] Speaker 1: You got to have the crispy edges. It's what makes
[37:14] Speaker 1: the pancakes crispy. Yeah, that's their wall. Seasoned in racism. Absolutely.
[37:19] Speaker 4: The bigotry biscuits. The bigotry biscuits, though.
[37:23] Speaker 2: All right, man.
[37:25] Speaker 1: Let's move over.
[37:27] Speaker 4: The drop.
[37:28] Speaker 1: To the drop.
[37:29] Speaker 4: Episode three of the drop, man.
[37:31] Speaker 1: Episode three of the drop. Go ahead, Cole, kick us off.
[37:33] Speaker 4: So, Wanda's cousin, what's his name?
[37:40] Speaker 2: Lamar? Lamar. Yeah.
[37:41] Speaker 1: Right. So.
[37:43] Speaker 5: More.
[37:44] Speaker 3: More.
[37:44] Speaker 2: He liked the little beat he made, and his partner sidekick,
[37:47] Speaker 2: his Chad Hugo, was just like, yeah, man, you know
[37:51] Speaker 2: what I'm saying? We got him on this song. So
[37:54] Speaker 2: they trying to push that song to be the first
[37:55] Speaker 2: single for the record label. The record label is like, yo,
[37:58] Speaker 2: this is the one. Let's get it going. But he's
[38:01] Speaker 2: in his artistry bag. Ambitions of a rider. I want
[38:06] Speaker 2: to give him a different beat. So he trying to
[38:09] Speaker 2: sabotage the whole liftoff.
[38:13] Speaker 4: For the single. He's like, I don't want that to
[38:15] Speaker 4: be the lead single. We don't care.
[38:17] Speaker 2: This is how we getting the record deal. You can
[38:20] Speaker 2: make more beats. Let's just get our foot in the door.
[38:23] Speaker 2: Get this going. Your name is going to be out there.
[38:25] Speaker 2: We can get more beats.
[38:26] Speaker 4: I don't know why he is hell bent on, nah, man,
[38:30] Speaker 4: that can't be the lead single.
[38:32] Speaker 1: I am with you.
[38:33] Speaker 4: You're sabotaging the whole operation.
[38:36] Speaker 1: We ain't even got out the hood yet.
[38:38] Speaker 4: We ain't got nowhere.
[38:40] Speaker 2: You barely, you can't even live in your house because
[38:43] Speaker 2: your mom don't even want you doing music.
[38:45] Speaker 4: Just give me the goddamn beat. Let us get up
[38:47] Speaker 4: in here.
[38:48] Speaker 2: Tony's about to go on the TV.
[38:49] Speaker 4: Man, I'm just like, he was pissing me off.
[38:52] Speaker 1: To reach in the portal.
[38:53] Speaker 2: Especially everything they had to.
[38:55] Speaker 4: Do to get it going and they're definitely just pressing it.
[38:57] Speaker 2: What's his name? What's the rapper's name?
[39:00] Speaker 1: Artillery.
[39:01] Speaker 2: Artillery.
[39:02] Speaker 4: The cops are literally trying to kill this man.
[39:04] Speaker 1: Literally.
[39:05] Speaker 4: He is running for his life every episode.
[39:07] Speaker 1: And he ain't healed up. Get the damn song out, man.
[39:11] Speaker 4: He can't even get his wounds healed properly.
[39:12] Speaker 1: He won't even go to the photo shoot.
[39:14] Speaker 4: Every time he rapped, he started bleeding externally.
[39:17] Speaker 2: He'd be like, yeah, man. Oh, shit.
[39:20] Speaker 1: Head bobbing.
[39:20] Speaker 2: My shirt.
[39:21] Speaker 4: He'd been in the same dirty jacket. I don't even
[39:23] Speaker 4: know if he's bathed.
[39:24] Speaker 2: I don't know.
[39:25] Speaker 1: He'd been ducked off to the side.
[39:28] Speaker 2: He'd been running from the law.
[39:30] Speaker 4: Literally. They trying to take him out.
[39:33] Speaker 2: He's hopping fences.
[39:34] Speaker 3: I know that wound on his stomach opened up.
[39:37] Speaker 4: It's infected.
[39:38] Speaker 1: They hopped barbed wire. Everybody did.
[39:41] Speaker 4: He hopped that barbed wire smooth.
[39:42] Speaker 1: Him and the police. Nobody got caught.
[39:44] Speaker 2: Nobody shredded up. That was some fake barbed wire. Oh, yeah.
[39:48] Speaker 1: They jumped over that clean.
[39:49] Speaker 2: Yeah, it was clean.
[39:50] Speaker 1: No one shirt grabbed or nothing. No shred.
[39:53] Speaker 2: My whole hand was a still been on that fence.
[39:55] Speaker 2: I would have been handless in my rap videos, just nubs.
[39:59] Speaker 4: Give it up for nubs on Rap City, y'all. Yeah,
[40:02] Speaker 4: you know what I'm saying?
[40:03] Speaker 2: I can't even throw up my set in the hood.
[40:05] Speaker 1: It's the two nub commandment.
[40:06] Speaker 2: Man, throw your set up. Y'all know I'm nubbed out.
[40:11] Speaker 4: I'm just all arms. I gotta use my arms to
[40:14] Speaker 4: really write the letters.
[40:15] Speaker 1: Y'all know I'm nubbed out.
[40:17] Speaker 2: Y'all know I'm nubbed out, man. Come on, man. Stalk
[40:20] Speaker 2: me out.
[40:20] Speaker 1: Come on, you know.
[40:22] Speaker 2: Who I am. Throw your set up. I can't.
[40:27] Speaker 4: Now I gotta use my feet.
[40:28] Speaker 2: I can't.
[40:30] Speaker 4: I gotta take my chucks off.
[40:32] Speaker 2: But, so now... And what's his name? You know, he
[40:38] Speaker 2: kind of cooled off a little bit, but I know
[40:39] Speaker 2: he's still plotting on getting his revenge when they stomp
[40:43] Speaker 2: him out in his drawers.
[40:43] Speaker 1: He not letting that go.
[40:45] Speaker 3: And they, whoever he introduced as like the henchman of that,
[40:48] Speaker 3: they already introduced him.
[40:49] Speaker 1: He got to do something.
[40:50] Speaker 2: Oh, he's doing something.
[40:51] Speaker 3: You can't, Chekhov's gun implies that you cannot introduce somebody
[40:56] Speaker 3: who's known to do this stuff. And then he just,
[40:59] Speaker 3: you can't just forget about him. That show's too well-written
[41:02] Speaker 3: for them to be like.
[41:03] Speaker 1: You talking about Problems' character?
[41:04] Speaker 2: No, no, no. The dude who.
[41:07] Speaker 1: Remember the white lawyer was like.
[41:09] Speaker 4: He from Snowfall that Leon beat up.
[41:10] Speaker 2: Big up.
[41:11] Speaker 1: Oh, yeah, yeah. Oh, I remember that episode. Yeah.
[41:14] Speaker 2: Well, he was like... Lying, man.
[41:16] Speaker 3: He was like, man, big Dion. You shouldn't be doing that.
[41:19] Speaker 3: My client will help you. And he came in like,
[41:20] Speaker 3: what's good?
[41:21] Speaker 1: Yeah. And DG was like, yeah, I got a perm.
[41:24] Speaker 4: Yeah, because he's still going to get that gift back.
[41:27] Speaker 1: For sure.
[41:28] Speaker 4: He's still going to get that gift back.
[41:29] Speaker 1: Because that hood is in you.
[41:31] Speaker 4: It's in you, man.
[41:32] Speaker 2: And what's the name that... artillery's manager, Lighthouse.
[41:37] Speaker 1: Dara.
[41:38] Speaker 2: She be getting on my nerves, but I like her
[41:40] Speaker 2: at the same time.
[41:41] Speaker 1: Yeah, I feel like she's just out of her comfort zone.
[41:44] Speaker 4: Yeah, she out of the comfort zone.
[41:45] Speaker 2: She's still trying to figure everything out, but she's got
[41:47] Speaker 2: some integrity on the back end.
[41:50] Speaker 4: When Lamar came in there... trying to sidestep Wanda.
[41:54] Speaker 1: She redirected him right back.
[41:56] Speaker 2: She called her anyway, just to be on the up
[41:58] Speaker 2: and up. And I thought that was solid. He's over
[42:00] Speaker 2: there in the blue apartment.
[42:01] Speaker 1: Yeah. You know, and Wanda, I mean, Lamar's.
[42:03] Speaker 2: Like, no, no, no, no, no. She's like, I ain't
[42:05] Speaker 2: trying to hear you.
[42:06] Speaker 1: No.
[42:06] Speaker 4: I'm telling Wanda.
[42:07] Speaker 1: Let me tell you what I love about this show.
[42:09] Speaker 2: It's women-led. Yes.
[42:11] Speaker 1: Wanda is the lead.
[42:13] Speaker 3: Dara leads the Bloods, and the record label exec, even
[42:17] Speaker 3: though she's undermined, she is actually in charge.
[42:20] Speaker 1: She's the face. She's the face. You don't really get
[42:22] Speaker 1: shows that are women-led like that.
[42:24] Speaker 3: And then they are well aware of the problems that
[42:26] Speaker 3: come from, because DG just choked Wanda out.
[42:29] Speaker 1: Right.
[42:30] Speaker 2: Like, the violence is there.
[42:31] Speaker 1: For sure.
[42:32] Speaker 2: The record label people are undermining her.
[42:35] Speaker 3: Dara, she ain't really, she hasn't been in control of
[42:39] Speaker 3: her stuff yet. I haven't seen a way where she's like,
[42:43] Speaker 3: The Bloods respect her tough. They like, remember Buddy was,
[42:46] Speaker 3: I mean not Buddy, Artillery was like, nah, wait for Dara.
[42:49] Speaker 3: And she's the one that, like let them do the stomping.
[42:52] Speaker 3: I think that's really interesting for a show based on
[42:55] Speaker 3: what this is based off to like, we're going to
[42:57] Speaker 3: focus on these women and how their POV is. Cause
[43:01] Speaker 3: Leon was, was almost co-lead of Snowfall for a good.
[43:06] Speaker 1: Amount of it.
[43:07] Speaker 2: Right.
[43:07] Speaker 4: I feel like he kind of took a backseat to
[43:09] Speaker 4: Jerome and them.
[43:10] Speaker 2: Yeah. He was more prominent in the beginning. And even now,
[43:13] Speaker 2: like he, he steps in when he has to.
[43:17] Speaker 4: You know what I'm saying?
[43:17] Speaker 2: Like when Wanda needs him or he needs to smooth
[43:19] Speaker 2: something over, it's just like, So his presence is still there.
[43:24] Speaker 4: But, and then, you know, I really like James a lot.
[43:28] Speaker 2: Love James. James is probably my favorite character right now
[43:33] Speaker 2: because he just looking out for his little brother. He's
[43:35] Speaker 2: trying to do the right thing with Big Daddy or
[43:38] Speaker 2: what's his name?
[43:39] Speaker 1: Big Daddy, yeah. McElty Williamson, man.
[43:40] Speaker 4: Yeah, and he always brings it too.
[43:42] Speaker 2: He always, him?
[43:45] Speaker 3: Bokeem Woodbine, they gonna give it to you. Whatever you
[43:49] Speaker 3: need them to do, McKenzie Williamson, from Bubba to this,
[43:53] Speaker 3: you wouldn't even think.
[43:53] Speaker 1: That's the same actor.
[43:54] Speaker 2: Right, for sure.
[43:55] Speaker 3: He's so believable as this. That's what I like about James.
[44:00] Speaker 3: He's the only one that called Lamar out. He's like, man,
[44:02] Speaker 3: this dude is a narcissist.
[44:04] Speaker 2: He's ambitious.
[44:05] Speaker 1: Y'all let all that stuff go.
[44:07] Speaker 3: He knows exactly what he's doing. And his character, if
[44:10] Speaker 3: you think about it from what James said, he only
[44:12] Speaker 3: cares about him. He don't care what it costs Dara.
[44:16] Speaker 3: And honestly, he don't care about himself. That's why he
[44:18] Speaker 3: got socked out. That's why I was happy too.
[44:20] Speaker 2: I was so happy he got socked out by that
[44:23] Speaker 2: Jerry Curl dude.
[44:25] Speaker 1: Jason Martin socked him out.
[44:26] Speaker 2: I was like, you can't just roll up in the
[44:28] Speaker 2: spot and cut the music off.
[44:30] Speaker 1: It worked last time. This time he was lucky.
[44:33] Speaker 2: He got lucky that one time where he was like,
[44:35] Speaker 2: I can do this any time. He thought he was
[44:37] Speaker 2: going to relive the magic.
[44:39] Speaker 1: What?
[44:40] Speaker 4: Hell no. And he was like, hey, man, yeah, I
[44:44] Speaker 4: socked him. Nigga, no.
[44:47] Speaker 3: Hey, which one of y'all morgues hit my brother?
[44:50] Speaker 1: Me, nigga. It was so bad.
[44:54] Speaker 2: I did. What's happening, dude? I was like. I don't
[44:58] Speaker 2: need that.
[44:59] Speaker 5: Tony.
[45:00] Speaker 2: I need that.
[45:01] Speaker 3: Boy, I thank God I grew up on a military basis. Because, man,
[45:06] Speaker 3: can you imagine a nigga say, I need that. I
[45:08] Speaker 3: got to fight now.
[45:10] Speaker 4: You got to, though.
[45:10] Speaker 1: And he got slapped. And the nigga was like, y'all
[45:13] Speaker 1: go wake y'all homie up.
[45:16] Speaker 4: He was in there like.
[45:18] Speaker 3: Remember in the Turtles, you get knocked out, they have
[45:21] Speaker 3: the birds. Everybody in the house knows you got knocked out.
[45:26] Speaker 2: The cops that raided the crib had to wake him up.
[45:31] Speaker 4: Like, man, it's a raid.
[45:32] Speaker 2: It's a raid, huh? It's a raid, huh? Put your
[45:36] Speaker 2: hands behind your back. Wait, what year is it? Imagine
[45:39] Speaker 2: getting knocked out and you wake up to the fans.
[45:41] Speaker 2: You had a terrible night.
[45:44] Speaker 1: You woke up in handcuffs because of Lamar. Because Lamar turned.
[45:48] Speaker 2: The music off. And that's what I'm talking about. He's
[45:51] Speaker 2: going to end up getting his brother killed, man. Because
[45:54] Speaker 2: he's a solid big bro.
[45:57] Speaker 4: You know what I'm saying?
[45:57] Speaker 2: He just wants to take over the family business, make
[46:00] Speaker 2: this cat that looked out for him and his brother proud.
[46:03] Speaker 2: I like that dynamic right there. Lamar's just getting on
[46:05] Speaker 2: my goddamn nerves. Because you're just too soft to just
[46:08] Speaker 2: be moving like you're moving. I get your artistic integrity,
[46:12] Speaker 2: but you also got to respect the lane that you're in.
[46:16] Speaker 1: And they reminded him this is a violent world.
[46:18] Speaker 4: Yes.
[46:19] Speaker 1: And niggas don't care about your music, bro. They also
[46:21] Speaker 1: got out too quick for my liking. What you mean?
[46:24] Speaker 5: They got processed and bailed out way too quick.
[46:27] Speaker 2: Me too.
[46:28] Speaker 1: I thought James was finna be in. Yes. Like, I
[46:31] Speaker 1: thought that was like, oh, this is Ramar's cross the bear.
[46:34] Speaker 4: I know somebody had to connect. Leon had to connect.
[46:37] Speaker 4: Leon had to connect.
[46:38] Speaker 2: Leon pulled some strings.
[46:39] Speaker 1: Didn't the lawyer come? Yeah, Leon, one of the ones
[46:42] Speaker 1: he was talking to earlier.
[46:43] Speaker 2: Yeah, he's plugged into that because, you know, he's been
[46:45] Speaker 2: trying to make a difference in the community.
[46:47] Speaker 1: How much bread Leon got right now?
[46:48] Speaker 4: Well, he had three million at the end of Snowfall.
[46:52] Speaker 3: And this is 90-something bread.
[46:53] Speaker 2: Because Franklin was like, give me the money. And Leon
[46:57] Speaker 2: was like, I got about three million. Let me get that.
[47:00] Speaker 2: And he denied him. He gave him like 750 or
[47:02] Speaker 2: he might even gave him.
[47:06] Speaker 4: He gave him like some cash, but he wasn't giving
[47:08] Speaker 4: all he had.
[47:09] Speaker 2: Not the three.
[47:09] Speaker 1: Let me get that. He wasn't getting the full three.
[47:11] Speaker 1: And three million, even two million in- I.
[47:13] Speaker 2: Would have gave you one.
[47:15] Speaker 1: One of the three?
[47:16] Speaker 2: I would have gave Franklin one million. Based on everything-
[47:20] Speaker 2: If I had three, knowing how he was moving, I
[47:24] Speaker 2: can't give you all of them.
[47:25] Speaker 1: No, because I'm never going to see it again.
[47:26] Speaker 4: But given that I have this because of you, I'm
[47:28] Speaker 4: giving you one million.
[47:29] Speaker 1: For sure.
[47:30] Speaker 4: Not because- Not because, oh, I'm up now.
[47:33] Speaker 2: Fuck you. It's just I know.
[47:34] Speaker 1: I'm never getting that bread back.
[47:36] Speaker 4: This ain't going to end well.
[47:37] Speaker 1: And in order to get it back.
[47:38] Speaker 4: And I'd be a fool to give you the whole three.
[47:41] Speaker 1: Everything that happened to me, I deserve if I hand
[47:43] Speaker 1: you over $ 3 million.
[47:44] Speaker 2: Right.
[47:45] Speaker 1: That I know I can't give back. Leon can't go
[47:46] Speaker 1: work at Tam's Burgers, can he?
[47:47] Speaker 2: Hell no. So he had some bread tucked away. And
[47:53] Speaker 2: I'm not sure what kind of earnings that he had
[47:56] Speaker 2: since then. But he ain't broke. Nah, he ain't broke.
[48:00] Speaker 4: He got that nice apartment.
[48:01] Speaker 1: He's good.
[48:02] Speaker 4: Yeah, he's good. But I really like, I'm.
[48:05] Speaker 2: Interested to see the James dynamic play out. But his brother,
[48:11] Speaker 2: he better not get on my nerves in episode four.
[48:13] Speaker 2: Turn the masters in, little nigga.
[48:15] Speaker 4: Turn it in, man.
[48:16] Speaker 2: DG was like. I'm glad DG went in there and
[48:18] Speaker 2: was like, give me the goddamn masters, dog.
[48:20] Speaker 1: What the hell you think you.
[48:22] Speaker 4: Talking about, man?
[48:23] Speaker 2: He like, man, you told him where I had to hit.
[48:25] Speaker 2: If I was one, I was like, yeah! Yeah, I
[48:28] Speaker 2: told them where you had the masters hidden, man.
[48:30] Speaker 1: Sam Jackson. I've been like, I'll do it again.
[48:33] Speaker 2: I'll do it again.
[48:34] Speaker 4: You were silly with it, man.
[48:35] Speaker 1: Yeah, you were.
[48:36] Speaker 4: We're trying to get our foot in the door at
[48:37] Speaker 4: this label. They don't believe in me. Sure.
[48:40] Speaker 2: This woman up here got my, but you don't know
[48:41] Speaker 2: what we be doing behind the scenes.
[48:44] Speaker 3: Literally.
[48:44] Speaker 2: Why are you cooking up the beat?
[48:46] Speaker 3: And all you're doing is making the beat, man. Artillery
[48:50] Speaker 3: not coming to the photo shoot. The radio, like, we
[48:53] Speaker 3: got one shot, nigga, and you playing. You talking about
[48:55] Speaker 3: your dreams in the mix. Man, watch out, man.
[48:59] Speaker 2: Just make us another mix. You do know albums are
[49:04] Speaker 2: made up of various songs, right?
[49:07] Speaker 1: Absolutely.
[49:09] Speaker 2: You can have that song on there and this other
[49:12] Speaker 2: one that you dying to make.
[49:13] Speaker 4: That can be tracked too, dummy.
[49:15] Speaker 3: But I love that though because I think Lamar is
[49:20] Speaker 3: written to make us uncomfortable because he... I think he's
[49:25] Speaker 3: written like that to show how hard it is to
[49:28] Speaker 3: be artistic in that world of the gang world and
[49:32] Speaker 3: also in the record label world. They about money too.
[49:36] Speaker 3: They not caring about the artistry. How many artists we
[49:39] Speaker 3: follow who are mad at their agent, mad at their manager,
[49:41] Speaker 3: you put the wrong song on. Like, they real mercurial
[49:45] Speaker 3: about their stuff. He is the same. And so is Artillery.
[49:49] Speaker 3: You know, he didn't go to the photo shoot because
[49:50] Speaker 3: he was like, this is going to be whack. I
[49:52] Speaker 3: assume they didn't really say why he didn't go. But
[49:54] Speaker 3: I think he's written to show how annoying artists can
[49:58] Speaker 3: be that are very particular about stuff. And he's just like.
[50:02] Speaker 3: I think he has written for us to be happy
[50:04] Speaker 3: that he got socked out. Because when he got socked,
[50:06] Speaker 3: I was like.
[50:07] Speaker 2: But it's too early.
[50:08] Speaker 4: He didn't even get played yet.
[50:10] Speaker 2: I know.
[50:10] Speaker 1: That's what I'm saying.
[50:11] Speaker 4: You know what I'm saying?
[50:13] Speaker 2: He was able to cook up a beat, and they
[50:14] Speaker 2: played it in the blood house, and everything clicked. Yeah.
[50:17] Speaker 2: And I've been like, all right, let that click a
[50:19] Speaker 2: little bit more. I got something else on the back end.
[50:22] Speaker 2: When that single gets put out and it dries.
[50:25] Speaker 4: Out, this.
[50:27] Speaker 1: Okay, but what about this?
[50:29] Speaker 3: You telling a joke you don't really feel and they
[50:31] Speaker 3: loving it. What's that joke for the Ball Brothers that
[50:33] Speaker 3: went viral and you was like, uh, black church, white church,
[50:39] Speaker 3: black church dude went crazy viral.
[50:44] Speaker 2: Oh, yeah, the stuff that was going viral. The stuff
[50:46] Speaker 2: that was going.
[50:46] Speaker 3: Viral was never the stuff that we thought was funny.
[50:49] Speaker 3: So imagine the record label was like, yo, we putting
[50:51] Speaker 3: this joke on Netflix. And we're like, nah, man, I
[50:54] Speaker 3: got all these other jokes. They was like, nah, the
[50:56] Speaker 3: one that you didn't put no work into, it was
[50:58] Speaker 3: just great for the algorithm.
[51:00] Speaker 2: That's Lamar.
[51:02] Speaker 4: But he put work into that beat.
[51:04] Speaker 1: No, I know that. You could say we put work
[51:06] Speaker 1: into the Ball Brothers.
[51:07] Speaker 2: But it was just in the moment. It was just like, yeah,
[51:10] Speaker 2: that was just something I threw. I guess he's looking
[51:13] Speaker 2: at it like, that's something I just threw together or just.
[51:15] Speaker 3: Said on the whim. And that's going viral. Your real material,
[51:20] Speaker 3: the stuff you done tried and true.
[51:22] Speaker 4: Can be included in the Netflix special.
[51:24] Speaker 1: No, this is it. You don't know you're getting no album.
[51:29] Speaker 1: Right now, Lamar, no, he don't know. He don't know.
[51:32] Speaker 1: He might think this.
[51:32] Speaker 3: Because remember, it's all riding on this. If this is whack,
[51:36] Speaker 3: you don't get another chance. So he's thinking this all
[51:40] Speaker 3: I ever be known for is the equivalent to you
[51:42] Speaker 3: and I being known for a joke we don't even
[51:44] Speaker 3: care about.
[51:45] Speaker 2: So he's thinking of it like, all right, if they
[51:49] Speaker 2: put out the ambitions of a rider, I assume that's
[51:53] Speaker 2: the name of that first song. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
[51:55] Speaker 4: Then, as a producer, he's going to get stuck in that.
[51:58] Speaker 2: Bingo.
[51:58] Speaker 4: He don't want to get stuck in that.
[51:59] Speaker 3: So imagine if you feel like everything that goes viral
[52:02] Speaker 3: is going to always be that same thing that you
[52:04] Speaker 3: note on.
[52:04] Speaker 2: Ambitions of a writer, man. Ambitions of a writer.
[52:07] Speaker 4: Nah, I got other stuff.
[52:08] Speaker 1: Nah, man.
[52:09] Speaker 2: Ambitions of a writer.
[52:10] Speaker 1: That's how he feels. Because it's like, I love stand-up.
[52:17] Speaker 3: If it was just like, man, we want you to do,
[52:19] Speaker 3: I saw this on the internet, on Netflix, just exactly
[52:21] Speaker 3: how you do it on your phone.
[52:22] Speaker 1: I'm like, no, I want to make movies.
[52:23] Speaker 3: Let me do the buddy comedy with Tone. Nah, man, nigga,
[52:26] Speaker 3: I said I saw this on the internet. Pull the tweet,
[52:29] Speaker 3: little nigga. Then I'd be like, nah, come on, man.
[52:33] Speaker 3: I got so much more. I feel like that's how
[52:35] Speaker 3: Lamar is. And when you're in your mind like that,
[52:39] Speaker 3: you can't.
[52:40] Speaker 2: You can't get it out.
[52:42] Speaker 4: I can see that now.
[52:43] Speaker 1: And you are annoying everybody.
[52:45] Speaker 2: Oh, he's big annoying. Because it is a good song.
[52:47] Speaker 2: And you just loved it two episodes. He was just
[52:49] Speaker 2: proud of it. That's what's pissing me off, though. He
[52:52] Speaker 2: was just proud of that damn song. He put it on.
[52:55] Speaker 2: He saw the bloods in there.
[52:56] Speaker 4: He was like, oh, this is it, y'all.
[52:59] Speaker 2: Yeah.
[52:59] Speaker 1: I love how DG was like, nigga, you're not using
[53:01] Speaker 1: this stuff.
[53:02] Speaker 2: You don't turn that stuff in.
[53:02] Speaker 1: What you think this is? Yeah. He was in it
[53:04] Speaker 1: like all the boards and stuff. Hell no, man.
[53:06] Speaker 3: I love that.
[53:07] Speaker 1: No.
[53:07] Speaker 2: He getting too comfortable too quick. This is work, man.
[53:10] Speaker 1: Yeah. Yep. All right.
[53:12] Speaker 3: So next week, the finale of Lanterns. What the hell
[53:15] Speaker 3: we going to do if we only got one thing
[53:16] Speaker 3: to cover?
[53:17] Speaker 4: Well, the lanterns is going to go away. We still
[53:19] Speaker 4: got the drop.
[53:20] Speaker 3: Yeah.
[53:21] Speaker 1: Well, drop will be good. We can move to first position.
[53:23] Speaker 1: But what are we going to do for the back half?
[53:25] Speaker 4: Do we do a different world? I'm not really interested
[53:28] Speaker 4: in that show.
[53:30] Speaker 2: Damn. Did you watch any of it?
[53:33] Speaker 4: I don't be rolling up on remakes, man. I still
[53:36] Speaker 4: haven't seen Bel-Air.
[53:38] Speaker 2: Really?
[53:39] Speaker 4: I never pulled up.
[53:41] Speaker 2: That don't feel like a remake.
[53:44] Speaker 4: It feels like its own thing.
[53:45] Speaker 1: It feels like its own thing.
[53:46] Speaker 4: I never pulled up, man.
[53:47] Speaker 1: Really? Not even season one?
[53:49] Speaker 4: I ain't seen nothing.
[53:51] Speaker 1: Dang. Well, the Chris Bobby Pats movie's out.
[53:57] Speaker 2: Oh, Robert Pattinson?
[53:58] Speaker 1: The Chris Hansen movie.
[53:59] Speaker 2: Primetime.
[54:01] Speaker 1: Primetime, Average Joe. Average Joe's a lot of episodes though.
[54:04] Speaker 4: Average Joe. I did start watching Average Joe. Mobland is back.
[54:08] Speaker 1: When?
[54:09] Speaker 4: It's back already.
[54:10] Speaker 1: It just started.
[54:10] Speaker 4: So I think the second episode should be up now.
[54:13] Speaker 1: Oh!
[54:13] Speaker 2: Let's watch that one.
[54:14] Speaker 4: So Mobland is back. I didn't know Mobland was back.
[54:16] Speaker 1: I'm in it at this point.
[54:17] Speaker 2: We can do Mobland.
[54:18] Speaker 1: When did Mobland come back?
[54:20] Speaker 2: Like recently. Yeah, like last week.
[54:22] Speaker 1: Tom Hardy. We talking about Tom Hardy.
[54:23] Speaker 4: Tom Hardy, Helen Mirren, Pierce Brosnan, they all back.
[54:26] Speaker 1: Man, that was my show.
[54:27] Speaker 4: Yeah, that's back.
[54:29] Speaker 1: Okay. Wait, are we TV? Are we TV now?
[54:34] Speaker 2: I mean... There's more TV than movies. Yeah, movies are.
[54:37] Speaker 1: Movies are not coming out like that.
[54:39] Speaker 2: Play it out.
[54:40] Speaker 1: What do you mean? This is a great year for movies. No, no,
[54:42] Speaker 1: I mean.
[54:43] Speaker 4: They're coming out. Like, this weekend, it was Avengers Endgame
[54:46] Speaker 4: got re-released.
[54:47] Speaker 2: Primetime. Primetime, yeah.
[54:49] Speaker 1: You don't watch Endgame?
[54:50] Speaker 2: The movie with Brad Pitt and his dog.
[54:52] Speaker 1: Ugh.
[54:53] Speaker 2: I have no desire. What was that, Beast of Dog
[54:56] Speaker 2: or whatever? Beast of Bird or whatever.
[54:57] Speaker 1: Oh, yeah, I'm good. I said, man, what?
[54:58] Speaker 2: That's out.
[54:59] Speaker 1: I feel like I saw that movie already, and I
[55:01] Speaker 1: haven't seen that. Yeah. As soon as I saw the
[55:03] Speaker 1: poster and the trailer, I was like, man.
[55:05] Speaker 3: Move, man.
[55:06] Speaker 2: That's one of them good, feel-good white man and his
[55:08] Speaker 2: dog movies.
[55:08] Speaker 1: Man, watch out.
[55:10] Speaker 3: I don't care about that. I do want to see
[55:12] Speaker 3: the Anne Hathaway scary movie, though.
[55:15] Speaker 1: That's coming out this weekend. Okay, and we go after
[55:17] Speaker 1: Bobby Pats.
[55:19] Speaker 2: Robert Pattinson's movie is out. That made about $ 19 million
[55:22] Speaker 2: over the weekend.
[55:23] Speaker 1: Really? Yeah.
[55:24] Speaker 2: The Dog movie made about $ 20. The Herb movie didn't
[55:27] Speaker 2: do good. The Avengers Endgame was $ 26.
[55:28] Speaker 3: Huh?
[55:28] Speaker 1: The movie with Herb didn't do good. It's not Endgame.
[55:30] Speaker 1: What's it called?
[55:31] Speaker 2: Encore. Encore. Avengers Encore. What is it?
[55:34] Speaker 1: Avengers with some extra scenes?
[55:35] Speaker 4: They got like four minutes of extra stuff.
[55:37] Speaker 2: What the hell?
[55:38] Speaker 1: Why did I think of that? Why did I think
[55:40] Speaker 1: it was Doomsday? Is that next year? No, no, that's Christmas.
[55:44] Speaker 2: Oh. Yeah, it's Christmas.
[55:45] Speaker 1: That's what I thought we were talking about.
[55:47] Speaker 2: So they re-released it for that.
[55:49] Speaker 4: They did 26 million this weekend.
[55:51] Speaker 1: With four minutes in it? Yeah.
[55:53] Speaker 4: Because people want to see that again in theaters, though.
[55:56] Speaker 1: Wow.
[55:57] Speaker 2: Because that was still one of the best movie experiences
[56:00] Speaker 2: I've ever had.
[56:01] Speaker 4: Oh, all time. Was going to see Endgame.
[56:04] Speaker 3: 26 million on something that you already made?
[56:07] Speaker 2: That's just domestically. So it's just adding to the total
[56:10] Speaker 2: box office that they were already sitting on. But the
[56:14] Speaker 2: top five were, I took a pick because I was
[56:16] Speaker 2: going to do it. Because I haven't done the videos
[56:18] Speaker 2: in a while. Box office nerd. Box office nerd here.
[56:22] Speaker 2: Box office nerd here. 26 million Avengers Endgame. Resident Evil
[56:26] Speaker 2: was number two with 23.3.
[56:28] Speaker 1: Beast.
[56:29] Speaker 4: The Heart of the Beast with Brad Pitt. There it goes.
[56:31] Speaker 2: It's 20 million. I said the Beast of the Dome.
[56:33] Speaker 2: It's something Beast is burning. Whatever. Primetime with Robert Pattinson, 19.1,
[56:38] Speaker 2: and Forgotten Island is 12.8.
[56:39] Speaker 4: That's the one.
[56:41] Speaker 1: That was $ 80 million budget.
[56:42] Speaker 4: Yeah, they taking the L.
[56:43] Speaker 2: The reviews have been great, but what do you think
[56:47] Speaker 2: is happening? It's just animated. Animated is not an easy
[56:51] Speaker 2: sell like it used to be.
[56:53] Speaker 1: Yeah, I feel like there was a time where you was.
[56:55] Speaker 3: Animated Pixar, DreamWorks, How to Train a Dragon.
[56:59] Speaker 2: It was like... Whatever you have.
[57:02] Speaker 1: We was going.
[57:03] Speaker 2: Now for a new piece of animation that's not a sequel?
[57:08] Speaker 4: They be like, I don't know, man, I don't know.
[57:10] Speaker 2: Then they gotta just gradually, because the reviews have been great.
[57:15] Speaker 4: And it's Filipino-based. And the promo was crazy.
[57:18] Speaker 2: When I went to AMC to see Your Mother, Your Mother,
[57:21] Speaker 2: they had the promo for Forgotten Island all over the
[57:24] Speaker 2: elevator and the parking structure. They was like, promo, promo.
[57:28] Speaker 4: But 12.8 million. They're going to be like, even that
[57:33] Speaker 4: Brad Pitt movie is $ 80 million.
[57:35] Speaker 2: Budget?
[57:36] Speaker 3: Yeah.
[57:36] Speaker 1: And you said it had how much?
[57:37] Speaker 4: It made $ 20 domestically.
[57:40] Speaker 1: How much did he take from that?
[57:42] Speaker 4: Brad Pitt probably got $ 20.
[57:43] Speaker 1: Golly, man.
[57:45] Speaker 2: And I don't know if it's under his plan B
[57:48] Speaker 2: production company or not, so he could also be a producer,
[57:52] Speaker 2: but I'm not sure.
[57:53] Speaker 3: You want Coming of Age? Never Have I Ever on Netflix.
[57:57] Speaker 3: You were absolutely right about it.
[57:58] Speaker 2: Coming of Age.
[58:00] Speaker 1: Coming of Age with brown girls as the leads.
[58:04] Speaker 2: That's a real movie?
[58:05] Speaker 1: Yeah. No, it was called Best of the Best. The
[58:08] Speaker 1: girl from Never Have I Ever was the lead.
[58:10] Speaker 4: On the verge.
[58:11] Speaker 1: Yeah, I watched it. Hasan Minhaj is in it.
[58:13] Speaker 2: Coming of Age?
[58:14] Speaker 1: Coming of Age. You said it was good, Kev. Yeah,
[58:16] Speaker 1: it was solid. It was like Pitch Perfect meets.
[58:21] Speaker 1: Indian and Pakistani communities.
[58:23] Speaker 2: Oh, okay.
[58:24] Speaker 3: Yeah. It was like Bollywood fusion dance. It was funnier
[58:27] Speaker 3: than I thought.
[58:28] Speaker 4: Okay.
[58:29] Speaker 1: I was like, oh, this is funny.
[58:30] Speaker 2: Yeah.
[58:32] Speaker 1: They got some jokes off in there.
[58:33] Speaker 3: Okay.
[58:33] Speaker 2: Yeah, it was solid.
[58:35] Speaker 1: Bad day.
[58:35] Speaker 3: All right.
[58:37] Speaker 1: Ball Brothers, Eddie Murphy next up. God bless you.
[58:39] Speaker 4: Eddie Murphy deep dive.
