I originally created these stories for my own children on nights when they couldn’t fall asleep. What started as a simple bedtime ritual has grown into a world of imagination designed to help families wind down together at the end of the day. Play an episode for your kids and encourage them to imagine they are the hero of the story — exploring distant planets, training dragons, discovering magic, or traveling through space — all while lying safely in bed with their eyes closed. Each 15–30 minute adventure is filled with science fiction and fantasy themes kids love: spaceships, dinosaurs, dragons, wizards, and whatever wild idea we dream up next. The stories are exciting, creative, and always safe for young listeners. When the adventure ends, the episode gently transitions into calming music to reduce distractions and help your child drift off to sleep — giving you a quiet moment to step out of the room and enjoy some well-earned alone time. Imagination first. Sleep second. Peace and quiet third. Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/dad-s-bedtime-stories--6907147/support. [0:04] Speaker 1: Hello, friends from across the nation and around the world.
[0:08] Speaker 1: I'm Martin, and you are listening to Dad's Bedtime Stories,
[0:12] Speaker 1: of the podcast that takes listener ideas and turns them
[0:16] Speaker 1: into bedtime stories. Tonight, we're finally headed back into the
[0:20] Speaker 1: Dragon Knights universe, a place we haven't been in a
[0:24] Speaker 1: while because, I guess mostly because there's just a bunch
[0:27] Speaker 1: of stories I wanted to do, and I was waiting
[0:30] Speaker 1: on somebody to give me a really good Nature Dragon
[0:34] Speaker 1: General suggestion, and I finally got it, so let's check
[0:38] Speaker 1: it out.
[0:39] Speaker 2: Him Martin, It's Roan from rised Bridge, Ontario, Canada, and
[0:45] Speaker 2: I have nice inner stories for the Dragon Knights series.
[0:51] Speaker 2: For the Nature Dragon General's backstory, I think it's good.
[0:55] Speaker 2: If like, there was a girl named Vine. She got
[1:01] Speaker 2: lost in the forest when she was really little, and
[1:05] Speaker 2: she found a cave and a ventured inside where she
[1:09] Speaker 2: found a small dragon. The dragon name was Bloom. The
[1:15] Speaker 2: Bloom could make anything grow anytime or anywhere. Bloom protected, fed,
[1:23] Speaker 2: and cared for Vine until her family found her. The
[1:28] Speaker 2: connection was strong, that was no doubt. Years later, the
[1:32] Speaker 2: Dragon King attacked Vine's village, capturing Bloom. Vine pretended she
[1:38] Speaker 2: was not a Dragon Master Dragon Knight to be part
[1:44] Speaker 2: of the dragonon King's army with Bloom by her side.
[1:47] Speaker 2: But thanks, I love your podcast.
[1:49] Speaker 1: By great suggestion from Rowan, who is also one of
[1:53] Speaker 1: my Patreon's sponsors, and it fits really well with another
[1:57] Speaker 1: Nature Dragon general suggestion I got from Millie who did
[2:02] Speaker 1: the Water Dragon general suggestion, so I think I can
[2:05] Speaker 1: fit this all together. Other than I did have to
[2:08] Speaker 1: talk to Rowan about changing the name of the main
[2:10] Speaker 1: character because Vine is already the name of the Nature
[2:14] Speaker 1: Dragon of the series, and she agreed that Violet would
[2:17] Speaker 1: be fine, so that's what we're gonna go with today.
[2:20] Speaker 1: I'd also like to give a big shout out to
[2:23] Speaker 1: Ibrahim who wrote in to see if I was gonna
[2:26] Speaker 1: continue this series at all, so that gave me a
[2:29] Speaker 1: bit of a kick in the pants to start. Anyways,
[2:32] Speaker 1: I spent a good amount of time putting all of
[2:35] Speaker 1: those ideas together into what I think makes sense for
[2:39] Speaker 1: the series, and I hope you guys like it, because
[2:43] Speaker 1: now it's that time again, after a possible word from
[2:46] Speaker 1: a possible sponsor, close your eyes, get as comfy as
[2:52] Speaker 1: you can in that bed, and well imagine yourself doing
[2:58] Speaker 1: what the dragon Jim General in the story does. Before
[3:06] Speaker 1: Violet was ever called the Nature Dragon General, and before
[3:12] Speaker 1: she stood beside the Dragon King with a silent nature
[3:17] Speaker 1: dragon under her command, and before anyone believed she'd betrayed
[3:22] Speaker 1: everything she once loved, she was just a little girl
[3:27] Speaker 1: lost in the woods. The forest where Violet grew up
[3:32] Speaker 1: was no ordinary forest. It was old, older than most villages,
[3:39] Speaker 1: older than most roads, older than anyone's great grandmother's great grandmother,
[3:46] Speaker 1: which is generally considered quite old by anyone listening. Violet
[3:51] Speaker 1: loved it. Her parents, however, loved it a little less.
[3:55] Speaker 1: When Violet wandered off too far into the woods stayed
[3:59] Speaker 1: near the bath. Her mother would say, don't follow strange noises,
[4:06] Speaker 1: her father would add, and Violet always, you know, meant
[4:10] Speaker 1: to listen. She really did. But one afternoon, when she
[4:15] Speaker 1: was still very young, she heard a sound between the trees.
[4:20] Speaker 1: It wasn't a voice exactly, It wasn't really music, but
[4:25] Speaker 1: it was something kind of between the two, almost like
[4:29] Speaker 1: the roots were humming beneath the ground. She stopped picking
[4:34] Speaker 1: berries and looked deeper into the woods. The sound was
[4:40] Speaker 1: calling to her.
[4:44] Speaker 3: Now.
[4:44] Speaker 1: In her defense, most children would probably have ignored a
[4:47] Speaker 1: mysterious forest sound, but Violet was not most children, and
[4:53] Speaker 1: this sound had something special. It really felt like it
[4:58] Speaker 1: was talking to her, so she followed it. At first,
[5:05] Speaker 1: she only went a little bit off the path, but
[5:07] Speaker 1: then she went a little more and a little more,
[5:10] Speaker 1: and before long she'd completely left the path and well
[5:17] Speaker 1: lost all track of where she was going. But she
[5:21] Speaker 1: continued to follow the sound until her legs ached. The
[5:26] Speaker 1: rain soon began to fall, and Violet ran for shelter,
[5:31] Speaker 1: pushing through wet ferns and thick vines until she failed
[5:36] Speaker 1: a rocky hill almost completely hidden by roots, and there,
[5:42] Speaker 1: tucked behind hanging moss was a cave. She hesitated for
[5:48] Speaker 1: a moment before stepping inside, but luckily the cave was dry,
[5:56] Speaker 1: at least near the entrance. As she continued to move
[6:00] Speaker 1: deeper into the cave, she noticed that the walls weren't
[6:03] Speaker 1: rough like a normal cave. They were smooth, carved with
[6:08] Speaker 1: patterns of leaves, branches, and roots. This isn't just a cave,
[6:15] Speaker 1: she whispered, Somebody made this place. A soft green glow
[6:23] Speaker 1: answered from deep inside, and for some strange, inexplicable reason,
[6:29] Speaker 1: Violet continued towards it. The tunnel opened into a round chamber,
[6:37] Speaker 1: and sitting in the center of it was an egg,
[6:43] Speaker 1: a really big egg. It was green and gold, with
[6:47] Speaker 1: little vine like lines growing on its shell. Violet stared
[6:52] Speaker 1: at it. She knew what it was before anyone told her.
[6:57] Speaker 1: Everyone knew stories of dragon egg, even if most people
[7:01] Speaker 1: never expected to see one. Dragons were real in her world.
[7:06] Speaker 1: After all. Dragon knights were real too, but they belonged
[7:11] Speaker 1: to the strongholds, legends, and important people, not people like Violet. Nonetheless,
[7:20] Speaker 1: Violet stepped closer, and the egg pulsed with light. Something
[7:26] Speaker 1: inside her chest pulled back too. She reached out and
[7:32] Speaker 1: touched the shell. At that instant, the egg cracked. Green
[7:39] Speaker 1: light filled the chamber. The shell split apart, and from
[7:45] Speaker 1: inside a little, tiny dragonling with bright green scales climbed out.
[7:53] Speaker 1: It blinked in Violet, and Violet blinked back. You know,
[8:00] Speaker 1: very small, the dragon said. Violet gasped. You can you
[8:07] Speaker 1: can talk? Of course, I can talk, the dragon replied,
[8:12] Speaker 1: I am a dragon talking as one of the easier
[8:15] Speaker 1: things to do. Violet stared for another second. I'm lost,
[8:24] Speaker 1: she said. The dragon ling tilted her head.
[8:28] Speaker 3: I know.
[8:30] Speaker 1: You know, yes, I could feel you coming. You followed
[8:34] Speaker 1: the roots. I followed a sound, she said. That was
[8:41] Speaker 1: the roots, the dragon said, or the earth, or or me.
[8:46] Speaker 1: It's hard to tell. Everything's connected. Violet didn't understand that yet,
[8:51] Speaker 1: but the words settled in her chest like something very important.
[8:56] Speaker 1: The dragon ling stepped closer. My name is Bloom, she said,
[9:03] Speaker 1: and you are my dragon night. Violet looked behind herself,
[9:10] Speaker 1: just in case there was like another person standing there
[9:13] Speaker 1: or something, but there.
[9:15] Speaker 3: Was no one.
[9:17] Speaker 4: Me.
[9:18] Speaker 1: Yes, Bloom said you. Then a light burst between them.
[9:26] Speaker 1: It was a warm light. It felt like sunlight shining
[9:31] Speaker 1: through leaves. It felt good as it hit her, and
[9:35] Speaker 1: suddenly she felt something else. She felt the dragon's heart
[9:42] Speaker 1: beat beside her own. She felt the roots of the cave,
[9:47] Speaker 1: the moss on the stone. For one impossible moment, she
[9:53] Speaker 1: felt everything living around her as if well as if
[9:58] Speaker 1: it were all par of the same, well the same her.
[10:05] Speaker 1: Then the light faded. Violet looked down at her arms
[10:11] Speaker 1: and legs and saw that she was covered in armor. Armor.
[10:18] Speaker 1: She recognized armor she'd seen pictures of before and story
[10:23] Speaker 1: books Nature dragon knight armor, and at her side was
[10:30] Speaker 1: a natured dragon Knight's sword. I'm really a dragon knight now,
[10:39] Speaker 1: she asked, Yep, you sure are, and I'm hungry. Violet
[10:45] Speaker 1: looked around the cave, Well what do you eat? Bloom
[10:50] Speaker 1: sniffed the air and crawled around. Then she opened her
[10:55] Speaker 1: mouth and took a bite out of a thick green vine. Plants,
[11:00] Speaker 1: Bloom said, life, sunlight, stored in leaves, water stored in fruit, roots, vines, flowers, seeds,
[11:09] Speaker 1: It's all really good to me. Over the next few days,
[11:15] Speaker 1: Violet and Bloom stayed near the cave. Bloom eight and
[11:20] Speaker 1: Violet learned a bit about her powers. She learned how
[11:24] Speaker 1: to call and dismiss her dragon knight armor, how to
[11:29] Speaker 1: use her sword and shield, and she learned a little
[11:32] Speaker 1: bit about her connection to the earth itself from Bloom.
[11:36] Speaker 1: Of course. At the same time, Violet's parents searched desperately
[11:42] Speaker 1: for her. The whole village searched, but the forest was
[11:47] Speaker 1: deep and the rain had washed away her tracks. Bloom
[11:52] Speaker 1: took care of her. She grew berries from empty soil.
[11:57] Speaker 1: She curled vines into a soft bed. She made giant
[12:01] Speaker 1: leaves bend together into a roof, and when Violet was
[12:06] Speaker 1: sad at night time, Bloom curled around her like a
[12:10] Speaker 1: warm blanket. You'll see them again soon, Bloom promised. How
[12:16] Speaker 1: do you know, Violet asked, the forest brought you to me.
[12:21] Speaker 1: I will not keep you from them forever. Soon I
[12:25] Speaker 1: will be big enough to fly. They will be easy
[12:28] Speaker 1: to find after that. And Bloom was right. She grew
[12:35] Speaker 1: quickly as dragons did. Every day she ate leaves, roots,
[12:40] Speaker 1: and flowers, and every day she became stronger and larger.
[12:47] Speaker 1: Soon she was large enough for Violet to ride through
[12:51] Speaker 1: the forest, though not quite large enough to fly yet.
[12:56] Speaker 1: Together they started to wander further from the cave, and
[13:02] Speaker 1: Bloom tught Violet about her nature magic. How to listen
[13:07] Speaker 1: to the plants, how to listen to the animals, how
[13:11] Speaker 1: to listen to the forest itself, and how to control it,
[13:17] Speaker 1: how to ask it to do what you wanted it
[13:20] Speaker 1: to do. By the time Bloom was large enough to fly,
[13:25] Speaker 1: Violet was one with the forest. She was no longer
[13:30] Speaker 1: afraid of it. She felt like she belonged to it
[13:34] Speaker 1: and in it. One morning, Bloom lowered herself beside the cave.
[13:42] Speaker 1: I think it's time, she said, so Violet climbed onto
[13:48] Speaker 1: her back, holding on tight as Bloom ran through the
[13:52] Speaker 1: trees and leapt into the air, spreading her wings and
[13:58] Speaker 1: pulling the two of them higher and higher until they
[14:01] Speaker 1: were well above the green canopy. Violets saw the forest
[14:07] Speaker 1: from above for the first time. It stretched forever in
[14:12] Speaker 1: every direction, rolling like an ancient ocean of leaves. Blooms
[14:18] Speaker 1: circled once and then well. She followed a poll that
[14:22] Speaker 1: only she seemed to understand. Less than a half hour later,
[14:28] Speaker 1: they landed in a clearing near Violet's village. Violet's mother
[14:34] Speaker 1: saw her first. She dropped the basket she was carrying,
[14:39] Speaker 1: and she screamed Violet's name as she ran to ward.
[14:43] Speaker 1: There were tears, of course, and there were hugs, and
[14:47] Speaker 1: there were questions, and there was also a lot of
[14:52] Speaker 1: staring at Bloom. Words spread quickly. A child had returned
[14:58] Speaker 1: from the deep forest riding a nature dragon. A message,
[15:03] Speaker 1: of course, was sent to the Nature dragon knights. They
[15:07] Speaker 1: would want to know about this. Three days later they came.
[15:13] Speaker 1: They came from the jungle region, where these strongest nature
[15:17] Speaker 1: dragons and their riders trained among the enormous trees and
[15:22] Speaker 1: ancient sacred groves. Their armor gleamed green, their dragons moved
[15:30] Speaker 1: like living forests, and they examined bloom, they examined Violet,
[15:38] Speaker 1: and they bowed a true bond. Their leader said, the
[15:45] Speaker 1: dragon has chosen. Violet's parents didn't want to lose her again,
[15:51] Speaker 1: but the Nature Dragons explained that Violet needed training not
[15:56] Speaker 1: because she was being taken from her family, but because
[15:59] Speaker 1: the bond she carried was powerful and sacred. She was
[16:05] Speaker 1: bound for better and more important things, And so Violet
[16:11] Speaker 1: went to the Jungle Region. She grew up there among
[16:16] Speaker 1: the Nature dragon Knights and the Nature Dragons. The Jungle
[16:22] Speaker 1: region was even wilder than the forest of her childhood.
[16:26] Speaker 1: Trees rose up higher than she'd ever seen, rivers curved
[16:32] Speaker 1: through glowing flowers, and in the center of it was
[16:36] Speaker 1: the Nature Dragon's Stronghold, an entire village that was sort
[16:42] Speaker 1: of wound together out of tree branches, roots, and vines.
[16:48] Speaker 1: Food grew everywhere, and it was incredibly peaceful, at least
[16:55] Speaker 1: most of the time. Violet trained, learned how to make
[17:01] Speaker 1: plants grow from the ground. She learned how to command
[17:05] Speaker 1: vines in battle, how to form her shield using her
[17:10] Speaker 1: dragon Knight armor, how to grow fruit instantly, and even
[17:15] Speaker 1: how to heal things. Trees, people animals. It was an
[17:22] Speaker 1: advanced technique, but one that many seasoned dragon knights learned.
[17:29] Speaker 1: If they could command plant cells, they could also command
[17:34] Speaker 1: animal cells to heal. Once they saw the connection between
[17:39] Speaker 1: all living things anyways, her trainers soon learned that Violet
[17:45] Speaker 1: saw that connection. She saw it almost better than anyone else.
[17:53] Speaker 1: Violet became powerful. In fact, she became magnificent. She became
[18:01] Speaker 1: one of the strongest natured dragon knights the world had
[18:06] Speaker 1: ever seen. Together with Bloom, they could grow forests and minutes.
[18:14] Speaker 1: They could command plants to move like waves. They could
[18:18] Speaker 1: speak to animals across the jungle and call for their help.
[18:24] Speaker 1: But on top of that, Violet had another gift, one
[18:30] Speaker 1: that made even the oldest dragon knights whisper, one that
[18:36] Speaker 1: came only once in every generation. She could speak to
[18:42] Speaker 1: the Earth itself, not the earth the way earth dragons
[18:48] Speaker 1: felt it as like stone and stuff. Violet could feel
[18:53] Speaker 1: the life inside it. She heard the threads that connected it,
[18:59] Speaker 1: the connections between every growing thing, every creature, every breath.
[19:07] Speaker 1: When she stood barefoot and sacred soil and closed her eyes,
[19:13] Speaker 1: she could feel the whole jungle breathing, and then the
[19:17] Speaker 1: whole world. Sometimes it guided her. Sometimes it warned her,
[19:25] Speaker 1: and sometimes it showed her things she did not want
[19:29] Speaker 1: to see. When the first word came of the dragon Thief,
[19:36] Speaker 1: many knights dismissed him as a dangerous wizard and nothing more.
[19:43] Speaker 1: And then darker news came, news that some elemental dragons
[19:49] Speaker 1: had fallen to this dragon thief. Violet went alone to
[19:56] Speaker 1: the most sacred place in the Jungle region, a circle
[20:01] Speaker 1: of ancient trees so old that even dragons lowered their
[20:06] Speaker 1: voices among them. She knelt in the center and pressed
[20:11] Speaker 1: both hands into the ground. Show me, she whispered, and
[20:17] Speaker 1: the earth answered. Violets saw fire, She saw dragons with
[20:25] Speaker 1: empty eyes. She saw water turned to ice and ice
[20:31] Speaker 1: shattered by flame. She saw nature burning. She saw riders
[20:39] Speaker 1: running away as their own dragons turned against them. And
[20:44] Speaker 1: then she saw something else too. She saw hope. She
[20:51] Speaker 1: saw eggs, hidden eggs, a future generation of eggs, children
[21:00] Speaker 1: finding dragons in caves and mountains and swamps and storms,
[21:06] Speaker 1: just as she had, true dragon knights rising when the
[21:11] Speaker 1: world had almost forgotten them. Violet opened her eyes with
[21:17] Speaker 1: tears on her face. She had been shown the path
[21:22] Speaker 1: to balance, and she hated it because the path didn't
[21:27] Speaker 1: show victory. Now it showed survival, preparation, waiting betrayal. But
[21:39] Speaker 1: it was the only path, so Violet began to follow it. First,
[21:46] Speaker 1: she called a secret meeting of the dragon Knights Sect Fire, Water, Wind, Earth, Nature,
[21:53] Speaker 1: and the remaining elemental dragon Knights. They all sent leaders.
[22:00] Speaker 1: She stood before them in the Jungle Temple and told
[22:04] Speaker 1: them only part of the truth. The world is changing,
[22:09] Speaker 1: she said. The dragon Thief is doing something we do
[22:14] Speaker 1: not understand. If we fall, the future must not fall
[22:19] Speaker 1: with us. Each sect must hide one egg, one egg
[22:24] Speaker 1: of each kind, protected by distance, in secrecy, waiting for
[22:31] Speaker 1: a rider not yet born or not yet ready. Some argued,
[22:37] Speaker 1: some believed it was cowardice. Some believed that the dragon
[22:42] Speaker 1: Knites could never possibly fall. Violet didn't tell them what
[22:47] Speaker 1: the Earth had shown her. She didn't tell them that
[22:51] Speaker 1: their battle was destined to fail. She only said that
[22:56] Speaker 1: hope is not cowardice. The seas must be planted just
[23:02] Speaker 1: in case, And in the end they listened. They hid
[23:08] Speaker 1: their eggs one by one. The future was planted in secret.
[23:15] Speaker 1: Then the war came for the dragon Knights. By then,
[23:20] Speaker 1: the Fire dragons had fallen, the Water Stronghold had gone
[23:26] Speaker 1: and even some of the earth dragons that were found
[23:29] Speaker 1: in the mines with the fire dragons had been turned
[23:34] Speaker 1: by the Dragon Thief's army. Violet knew the attack was
[23:39] Speaker 1: coming before the scouts did. She felt it in the roots.
[23:44] Speaker 1: The Nature dragon Knights prepared to fight well. Violet prepared
[23:50] Speaker 1: to disappear. She removed her armor with a simple thought,
[23:56] Speaker 1: and she dressed in the clothes of a servant. She
[24:01] Speaker 1: even rubbed a little bit of dirt on her face
[24:04] Speaker 1: to sell the whole thing. Blooms stared at her. No,
[24:11] Speaker 1: Bloom said yes, Violet insisted, you know they will take me.
[24:20] Speaker 1: We both know they'll take you. We know they have to.
[24:26] Speaker 1: You're right, Bloom said, and you will have to let
[24:32] Speaker 1: them for a while. Violet responded a long while. The
[24:40] Speaker 1: battle began at dawn. Fire dragons burned the edge of
[24:45] Speaker 1: the jungle. Flames raced up ancient trunks. Water dragons froze
[24:50] Speaker 1: defenders in place, trapping wings in armor and ice, and
[24:55] Speaker 1: Earth dragons ripped trenches through root systems, shadow living walls,
[25:01] Speaker 1: and sending stones firing at Nature dragon knights. The Nature
[25:08] Speaker 1: Dragons and their knights fought with everything they had. The
[25:13] Speaker 1: Jungle itself rose to defend them. Vines grabbed riders, trees
[25:18] Speaker 1: bent to block fire, roots pulled dragons from the sky,
[25:24] Speaker 1: but the dragon Thief's control spell moved like poison. One
[25:29] Speaker 1: by one, nature dragon stiffened and turned. Then Bloom was taken.
[25:40] Speaker 1: Violet felt the bond vanish not break exactly, but well,
[25:48] Speaker 1: it was blocked, buried beneath something, something else. Bloom's eyes
[25:56] Speaker 1: went empty, and Violet nearly screamed, but instead she lowered
[26:02] Speaker 1: her head and kept carrying water buckets like a terrified servant.
[26:09] Speaker 1: When the fortress fell, the dragon Thief offered the survivors
[26:14] Speaker 1: a choice swear loyalty or be taken prisoner. Many refused.
[26:22] Speaker 1: Violet stepped forward and bowed, I will serve.
[26:28] Speaker 3: She said.
[26:30] Speaker 1: The dragon Thief barely looked at her at first, but
[26:34] Speaker 1: Violet joined the army as one of the many survivors.
[26:39] Speaker 1: She was quiet, obedient, but very very powerful. When her
[26:47] Speaker 1: first training match came, a soldier twice her size laughed
[26:52] Speaker 1: when she stepped into the ring. He stopped laughing when
[26:56] Speaker 1: Violet put him on the ground in about three seconds.
[26:59] Speaker 1: The next one lasted five, and the next almost ten.
[27:05] Speaker 1: Violet had trained as a dragon Knight, and even without
[27:09] Speaker 1: Bloom's power flowing through her, she knew how to move,
[27:13] Speaker 1: how to balance, how to strategize, and how to fight.
[27:19] Speaker 1: The Dragon King noticed, bring her forward, he said, after
[27:25] Speaker 1: the first tournament. Violet bowed low. You fought well, he said,
[27:33] Speaker 1: for a servant. Thank you, your majesty. Violet replied, So
[27:41] Speaker 1: you served the dragon knights, Violet led, bitterness enter her face.
[27:48] Speaker 1: Not too much, just enough. I served under them, she said,
[27:55] Speaker 1: like many did. His eyes sharpened, and you loved them,
[28:02] Speaker 1: Violet laughed softly, No, your majesty, they loved themselves enough
[28:10] Speaker 1: for everyone. Always speaking of balance, always acting as if
[28:16] Speaker 1: growing trees made them wiser than those who grew food
[28:21] Speaker 1: or carried water. They're holier than now. Speeches became rather tiring,
[28:28] Speaker 1: if I'm honest, The dragon King smiled, So you were
[28:36] Speaker 1: glad that I came a Violet bowed deeper. I'm glad
[28:42] Speaker 1: someone finally reminded them that power doesn't belong only to
[28:47] Speaker 1: those born with their precious connections to dragons. That was
[28:55] Speaker 1: the lie that saved her, or well, maybe doomed her,
[28:59] Speaker 1: depending on now you look at it. The Dragon King
[29:02] Speaker 1: believed it. I believe you'll make a very good servant.
[29:11] Speaker 1: You may choose a dragon. Violet walked among the captured dragons.
[29:19] Speaker 1: She pretended to study them carefully. She paused beside Bloom
[29:24] Speaker 1: only after looking at several others. Violet laid a hand
[29:30] Speaker 1: against her scales and felt the buried bond tremble beneath
[29:35] Speaker 1: the spell. This one, Violet said. The Dragon King nodded,
[29:43] Speaker 1: Then you shall command it. The false connection was placed
[29:49] Speaker 1: in Violet's mind. It felt horrible wrong, but through it,
[29:57] Speaker 1: Bloom lifted her head. Violets swallowed her pain and climbed
[30:04] Speaker 1: onto the dragon's back. From that day forward, Violet rose quickly.
[30:11] Speaker 1: She could no longer call on Bloom's power through a
[30:15] Speaker 1: true bond, but she knew nature dragons better than anyone
[30:20] Speaker 1: in the Dragon King's army. She knew how to use vines, rudes, spores, flowers,
[30:27] Speaker 1: and forests as weapons. She helped defeat the remaining Earth
[30:33] Speaker 1: stronghold after the Water Dragon General's plan weakened them. She
[30:39] Speaker 1: helped take the Air Dragon's stronghold, growing forests of vines
[30:44] Speaker 1: into the sky itself and forcing wind dragons into predictable paths.
[30:52] Speaker 1: She became the Natured Dragon General and everyone believed she'd
[30:59] Speaker 1: betrayed the old ways. Sometimes, alone at night, Violet would
[31:05] Speaker 1: sit beside Bloom and place one hand against the earth.
[31:12] Speaker 1: She couldn't hear it like she did before, but she
[31:16] Speaker 1: could still feel whispers. She knew that somewhere out there
[31:23] Speaker 1: there were children who were not yet ready, eggs that
[31:27] Speaker 1: were not yet hatched, and knights that had not yet gathered.
[31:33] Speaker 1: So she waited. She waded through years of serving a
[31:39] Speaker 1: king she hated. She waited while people feared her name.
[31:44] Speaker 1: She waited beside a dragon who could not speak back.
[31:50] Speaker 1: Because someday the true dragon Knights would rise again, and
[31:56] Speaker 1: when they did, they would need someone inside the Dragon
[32:01] Speaker 1: King's army. They would need someone who knew what she knew,
[32:08] Speaker 1: someone who remembered the old ways. So she waited, and
[32:17] Speaker 1: eventually she got word that her waiting was not in vain,
[32:24] Speaker 1: that a new group of children had hatched a new
[32:28] Speaker 1: group of eggs. They'd taken over the Fire Dragon Stronghold,
[32:37] Speaker 1: the Water Dragon Stronghold, and next they were coming for her.
[32:44] Speaker 1: She went to bed, knowing that it was time, knowing
[32:50] Speaker 1: that she would wait no longer.
[32:56] Speaker 3: Good Night, everyone, Nevernon m.
[37:21] Speaker 4: N new Yor n n no mom thing, more mo
[46:07] Speaker 4: M one, one mo
[50:00] Speaker 2: M
