I originally created these stories for my own children on nights when they couldn’t fall asleep. What started as a simple bedtime ritual has grown into a world of imagination designed to help families wind down together at the end of the day. Play an episode for your kids and encourage them to imagine they are the hero of the story — exploring distant planets, training dragons, discovering magic, or traveling through space — all while lying safely in bed with their eyes closed. Each 15–30 minute adventure is filled with science fiction and fantasy themes kids love: spaceships, dinosaurs, dragons, wizards, and whatever wild idea we dream up next. The stories are exciting, creative, and always safe for young listeners. When the adventure ends, the episode gently transitions into calming music to reduce distractions and help your child drift off to sleep — giving you a quiet moment to step out of the room and enjoy some well-earned alone time. Imagination first. Sleep second. Peace and quiet third. Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/dad-s-bedtime-stories--6907147/support. [0:04] Speaker 1: Hello, friends from across the nation and around the world.
[0:08] Speaker 1: I'm Martin, and you are listening to a special weekend
[0:12] Speaker 1: compilation episode of Dad's Bedtime Stories. We're gonna head back
[0:18] Speaker 1: into the summer Camp planet to finish up some of
[0:22] Speaker 1: our compilations. I believe we're gonna start with let's see
[0:28] Speaker 1: here some sort of super Hero Summer Camp or Superhero
[0:34] Speaker 1: Gardening summer Camp, because that's an episode I made at
[0:39] Speaker 1: some point, and we're gonna follow that up with Survival Camp.
[0:46] Speaker 1: If you have a suggestion for a compilation episode or
[0:50] Speaker 1: kind of any idea for Dad's Bedtime Stories, just you know,
[0:54] Speaker 1: leave me a message on Spotify, or send me a
[0:58] Speaker 1: message on speak pipe where you can leave voice messages,
[1:02] Speaker 1: or fill out the Google for or more. Email me
[1:05] Speaker 1: yet Dad about Bedtime Stories at gmail dot com. Honestly,
[1:10] Speaker 1: any of it works. But now a possible word from
[1:16] Speaker 1: a possible sponsor, followed by two full stories without any
[1:21] Speaker 1: commercial breaks at all, it's time to close your eyes,
[1:27] Speaker 1: get as comfy as you can in that bed, and
[1:30] Speaker 1: imagine yourself doing what the kid in the story does.
[1:37] Speaker 1: Imagine yourself waking up on spaceship, Oh, your boring spaceship
[1:44] Speaker 1: you say, good morning, anything fun to do today? You ask, Unfortunately,
[1:54] Speaker 1: we are currently traveling to a distant planet that I
[1:59] Speaker 1: believe if you will love to check out. However, the
[2:05] Speaker 1: journey there should be very long. You have several days
[2:10] Speaker 1: to kill before we get there. Several days. Ah, well,
[2:18] Speaker 1: maybe I could go back to the Summer Camp Planet.
[2:22] Speaker 1: Then you suggest, I thought you might want.
[2:26] Speaker 2: To do that.
[2:28] Speaker 1: Activating portal. Now, a little door in the floor opens up,
[2:34] Speaker 1: and out of it rises a huge circular portal. The
[2:39] Speaker 1: portal lights up a bright blue color that looks kind
[2:44] Speaker 1: of like energy water. Don't forget your things, Spaceship says,
[2:52] Speaker 1: as a long robotic arm shoots out of the side
[2:56] Speaker 1: of the ship carrying a large Duffel bag. Spaceship places
[3:01] Speaker 1: the Duffel bag down beside you. You grab a hold
[3:06] Speaker 1: of it, and then you jump through the portal. You
[3:11] Speaker 1: find yourself in a large, colorful tunnel, flying straight through
[3:17] Speaker 1: the center. As the tunnel turns left and right, up
[3:22] Speaker 1: and down like a super cool water slide. Then you
[3:28] Speaker 1: see another circle of liquid water at the end, fly
[3:33] Speaker 1: through it and find yourself behind the same tree in
[3:39] Speaker 1: the main parking lot of the Summer Camp Planet. As
[3:43] Speaker 1: you've done before. You walk towards the main building, open
[3:49] Speaker 1: up the door, and you're immediately greeted by some of
[3:54] Speaker 1: the Sails team on the summer camp Planet Wilcombe.
[4:00] Speaker 2: I believe I've seen you before.
[4:03] Speaker 1: Let me check the database, the woman types on a computer.
[4:09] Speaker 2: Oh. Yes, you are prepaid for any summer camp you
[4:16] Speaker 2: would like to attend. Do you have anything in mind
[4:22] Speaker 2: for today? You think, for a second, where do I
[4:27] Speaker 2: want to go? Wait a second, my friend, Pip, I,
[4:33] Speaker 2: where's he these days? You ask?
[4:37] Speaker 1: I'll search the dirtabase, the woman says, as she types
[4:42] Speaker 1: away on a keyboard. A yes, Pip, I believe he
[4:48] Speaker 1: is currently attending the super Hero Gardening Camp. The Superhero
[4:55] Speaker 1: Gardening Camp.
[4:57] Speaker 2: What's that? Oh? It is a very popular camp, though
[5:03] Speaker 2: named somewhat strangely. The super Hero Gardening Camp is a
[5:10] Speaker 2: camp full of all sorts of different fruits. Each one
[5:16] Speaker 2: gives you a specially created super power for a limited time. Anyways,
[5:26] Speaker 2: you get to explore different powers and grow different kinds
[5:33] Speaker 2: of super fruit. It is a jolly good time. I say, uh, okay.
[5:40] Speaker 1: You say I want to go to the super Hero
[5:44] Speaker 1: Gardening Camp. Understood Communicating with a shuttle now on the
[5:52] Speaker 1: other side of the main building, there's a little platform
[5:57] Speaker 1: kind of like a train platform. A futuristic space shuttle
[6:03] Speaker 1: sort of thing flies down and lands on it. There's
[6:08] Speaker 1: your ride, the woman says, pointing towards the high tech
[6:14] Speaker 1: looking shuttle.
[6:16] Speaker 2: You walk across.
[6:18] Speaker 1: The gigantic main building to the other side with the
[6:22] Speaker 1: little platform area. You climb aboard the shuttle, place your
[6:28] Speaker 1: bag on the ground, and strap yourself in one of
[6:32] Speaker 1: the seats. The shuttle lifts up off the ground and
[6:38] Speaker 1: shoots out across the summer camp planet once again. Once again,
[6:45] Speaker 1: you're amazed as you look below you at all of
[6:49] Speaker 1: the different kinds of summer camps that exist here. You
[6:53] Speaker 1: pass over one that looks like it's a giant water
[6:57] Speaker 1: slide camp of some kind, at least something like that.
[7:02] Speaker 1: Before long, the shuttle slowly begins to lower itself down
[7:08] Speaker 1: to what you can only assume is the superhero gardening camp.
[7:15] Speaker 1: Your assumptions are pretty much confirmed by looking around the
[7:20] Speaker 1: camp and watching kids of all different shapes and sizes
[7:25] Speaker 1: trying out various different superpowers. Kids in one corner are
[7:31] Speaker 1: creating flames from their hands and shooting them at targets.
[7:36] Speaker 1: Kids in another area are well practicing what looks like
[7:41] Speaker 1: super strength throwing gigantic boulders as far as they possibly can.
[7:48] Speaker 1: And of course there's kids all over the camp, just
[7:51] Speaker 1: kind of flying around with superflight abilities. The ship lands
[7:57] Speaker 1: in the back hatch opens up. You one buckle, grab
[8:02] Speaker 1: your duffel bag and walk down once again. Sure enough,
[8:07] Speaker 1: you see a familiar face, your friend Pip.
[8:11] Speaker 3: Oh, they told me you were coming. It's so good
[8:15] Speaker 3: to see you again.
[8:17] Speaker 2: Pip says, it's.
[8:19] Speaker 3: Good to see you. Do well, they said we could
[8:23] Speaker 3: be in the same cabin.
[8:25] Speaker 1: This.
[8:26] Speaker 3: Here's our camp counselor, Rob.
[8:29] Speaker 2: They it's right.
[8:31] Speaker 1: My name is Rob and I'm your counselor for the
[8:36] Speaker 1: super Hero Garden in Camp. Come with me. Rob and
[8:42] Speaker 1: Pip lead you to your summer camp cabin as it
[8:48] Speaker 1: normally does. It looks like a pretty normal summer camp cabin,
[8:53] Speaker 1: a large room with a whole bunch of bunk beds
[8:56] Speaker 1: spread around the outside. You find to bunk bed next
[9:01] Speaker 1: to Pips, throw your stuff on it and turn around. Well,
[9:07] Speaker 1: are you too ready for our first adventure? Let's go
[9:12] Speaker 1: explore some of the superpowers here on the Superpower Garden
[9:19] Speaker 1: and Camp. Oh my, goodness, you're gonna love this so much.
[9:25] Speaker 1: There's all sorts of superpowers you can get. Come on,
[9:29] Speaker 1: let's go check it out.
[9:31] Speaker 4: You.
[9:31] Speaker 1: Rob and Pip leave the cabin and walk down a trail,
[9:37] Speaker 1: a trail that leads you through the woods to a
[9:41] Speaker 1: forest of very interesting looking fruit. The trees here are
[9:48] Speaker 1: full of blue apple looking things that, instead of hanging
[9:54] Speaker 1: from the trees, seem to sort of pull the trees upward.
[10:01] Speaker 1: They float above the branches as if they're trying to
[10:04] Speaker 1: lift the tree into the air. Now we find that
[10:09] Speaker 1: one of the first things most campers want to do
[10:14] Speaker 1: is learn how to fly. This here is our flat
[10:19] Speaker 1: tree forest. Now, after we do some general plant maintenance,
[10:27] Speaker 1: our reward will be well the power of flight. Rob
[10:34] Speaker 1: starts to show you how the well flight apple trees
[10:40] Speaker 1: prefer to be taken care of, how to water them,
[10:44] Speaker 1: how to spread a little bit of special flight tree
[10:48] Speaker 1: fertilizer around, and how to check on the various fruits.
[10:55] Speaker 1: After working together to ensure the trees in the area
[10:59] Speaker 1: whereas healthy as they could be, providing them with lots
[11:03] Speaker 1: of water and food, Rob announces that it's now time
[11:10] Speaker 1: to show you how to pick the fruit. Now, most apples,
[11:16] Speaker 1: when you pick them, you take the bottom of the
[11:19] Speaker 1: apple and you kind of point it up towards the sky.
[11:24] Speaker 1: That breaks the thing off nice and easy. But these
[11:29] Speaker 1: here apples are the opposite. You're gonna take the apple
[11:35] Speaker 1: and kind of twist the bottom of it so it's
[11:38] Speaker 1: pointing at the ground instead of up at the sky.
[11:43] Speaker 1: Like this, Rob walks over to one of the shorter
[11:47] Speaker 1: apple trees. He grabs a hold of one of the apples,
[11:52] Speaker 1: which is sort of floating bottom up towards the sky,
[11:56] Speaker 1: and he twists it down towards the ground. Sure enough,
[12:01] Speaker 1: the apple easily breaks off. Then you gotta have a bat.
[12:08] Speaker 1: Rob starts chomping away on the apple, and then he
[12:14] Speaker 1: begins to float into the air. This is still one
[12:19] Speaker 1: of my favorite powers. Rob says, dry some you and
[12:25] Speaker 1: Pip both walk over to the flying apple tree. You
[12:30] Speaker 1: grab a hold of an apple, twist it down, and
[12:34] Speaker 1: then you take a bite. Strangely, the apple tastes like
[12:39] Speaker 1: a blueberry apple or something like that, But as you swallow,
[12:47] Speaker 1: a very interesting tingling sensation starts to shoot through your
[12:52] Speaker 1: arms and your legs, and then well you start to
[12:58] Speaker 1: sort of flow in the air. You finish eating the
[13:03] Speaker 1: apple and you try to get a hang.
[13:07] Speaker 2: Of this power. How do you control it?
[13:12] Speaker 1: You say, as you just sort of continue to float upward,
[13:16] Speaker 1: waving your arms and legs around.
[13:19] Speaker 2: Well, it's sort of hard.
[13:22] Speaker 1: To explain, but you should have a bit of a
[13:26] Speaker 1: new sense, lack a muscle you didn't have before, one
[13:32] Speaker 1: that allows you to push forward or backward, or up
[13:37] Speaker 1: and down. I think of it as a flat core.
[13:42] Speaker 1: You close your eyes and try to focus for a second,
[13:47] Speaker 1: and sure enough, you do feel something different. You hold
[13:53] Speaker 1: on to that feeling using your mind, and you push
[13:57] Speaker 1: it down towards the ground. Sure enough, that shoots you
[14:02] Speaker 1: up into the air. The harder you push towards the ground,
[14:08] Speaker 1: the further up you fly. You find that you can
[14:12] Speaker 1: sort of shift this new sense, making you turn left
[14:17] Speaker 1: and right, up and down. Before long, you Pip and
[14:23] Speaker 1: Rob are zooming through the sky, flying high above the
[14:30] Speaker 1: wel superhero gardening camp. You start by flying in wide
[14:36] Speaker 1: open spaces, turning left and right with ease, feeling the
[14:42] Speaker 1: wind press against your skin. You try to do a
[14:48] Speaker 1: couple loops and somersaults and twirls. It's amazing to feel
[14:54] Speaker 1: this free. You look down at the camp below you,
[14:59] Speaker 1: and you see other people flying around as well. Some
[15:04] Speaker 1: of them are sort of dodging beneath the trees or
[15:08] Speaker 1: between them. I should say you try that out too.
[15:13] Speaker 1: You and Pip fly down towards a nearby forest and
[15:18] Speaker 1: begin zigzagging between the trees left and right, left and right,
[15:26] Speaker 1: then again up into the air. Flying makes you feel
[15:31] Speaker 1: so incredibly free. After a while, you just sort of
[15:37] Speaker 1: start to slowly drift down towards the ground. You try
[15:44] Speaker 1: to use your flight sense to push yourself up again,
[15:48] Speaker 1: but it just doesn't work. You gently float down like
[15:53] Speaker 1: a leaf falling from a tree until you land on
[15:57] Speaker 1: the ground once again. Well I should have explained that
[16:03] Speaker 1: all of these powers only work for a limited time.
[16:08] Speaker 1: That's about all you get with the flight apples. Now
[16:12] Speaker 1: we can eat some more, or we can go check
[16:16] Speaker 1: out some other superpowers. Rob says, let's see what else
[16:22] Speaker 1: there is, all right, Actually, we've landed pretty near to
[16:29] Speaker 1: one of my favorite powers. Come over here. Rob leads
[16:36] Speaker 1: you down another forest trail until you come to another
[16:41] Speaker 1: set of trees that are full of well, super pears.
[16:47] Speaker 1: Pears that look a lot tougher and a lot bigger
[16:52] Speaker 1: than a normal pear. These here are strength pears. Now
[16:58] Speaker 1: you pick a much the same way you pick an apple,
[17:02] Speaker 1: twisting him up towards the sky. Rob demonstrates as he
[17:07] Speaker 1: grabs a hold of a pear. You and Pip both
[17:11] Speaker 1: get your own. Then you each take a bite. The
[17:16] Speaker 1: pears are absolutely delicious, and it doesn't take you long
[17:22] Speaker 1: to completely finish yours. When you're done, a different kind
[17:28] Speaker 1: of tingling sensation starts to pass through your arms and legs,
[17:33] Speaker 1: and suddenly your muscles start to bulge, kind of like
[17:39] Speaker 1: you're flexing every muscle in your body at once. But
[17:44] Speaker 1: the sensation continues and it gets stronger and stronger and stronger,
[17:51] Speaker 1: until you feel like you could lift up absolutely anything
[17:58] Speaker 1: in the world.
[18:00] Speaker 2: Now, Rob says.
[18:03] Speaker 1: Come on and test this out. He leads you off
[18:07] Speaker 1: to the side of the forest to an area of
[18:11] Speaker 1: gigantic round boulders. He grabs a hold of one of
[18:16] Speaker 1: the boulders, easily lifts it up over his head and
[18:21] Speaker 1: throws it as far as he can. The thing flies
[18:25] Speaker 1: high into the air and arcs down, eventually crashing into
[18:31] Speaker 1: a big open field full of other boulders. Give it
[18:36] Speaker 1: a try. Let's see which of you can.
[18:40] Speaker 2: Throw the boulder, the furthest.
[18:43] Speaker 1: You walk up to one of the boulders, you grab
[18:48] Speaker 1: it on either side with your hands, and strangely, you
[18:53] Speaker 1: accidentally crush the side of it a little bit, making
[18:57] Speaker 1: parts break off. WHA, I'm going to have to be
[19:01] Speaker 1: really careful when i have this power on, you think.
[19:06] Speaker 1: You lift the boulder back over top of you and
[19:10] Speaker 1: then fling it as far and as hard as you
[19:12] Speaker 1: can into the air. The boulder shoots up into the sky,
[19:18] Speaker 1: arcs down and crashes into the ground. You look over
[19:23] Speaker 1: at Pip, the once wimpy sort of looking kid, now
[19:28] Speaker 1: has well muscles. He grabs a hold of the boulder,
[19:33] Speaker 1: spins around on the ground, and uses the momentum to
[19:38] Speaker 1: throw the boulder even higher up into the air than
[19:42] Speaker 1: you could. It flies past both your boulder and robs
[19:48] Speaker 1: and crashes into the ground behind. I've sort of done
[19:53] Speaker 1: this before, Pip says, I told you, I go on
[19:57] Speaker 1: a tour of camps every summer. That's amazing. What else
[20:03] Speaker 1: can we do with this super strength? Well, we do
[20:07] Speaker 1: find that some of our campers want to test out
[20:11] Speaker 1: their new might against something kind of challenging, and that's
[20:17] Speaker 1: why we have this robot battle arena right here. Rob
[20:22] Speaker 1: points to the side and you suddenly see a gigantic
[20:26] Speaker 1: circular cage that you never noticed before. Inside it are
[20:32] Speaker 1: a bunch of robots lined up against the wall. We
[20:36] Speaker 1: get these things from the Robot battle camp. You can
[20:41] Speaker 1: decide how many you want to fight at once.
[20:45] Speaker 2: Watch this.
[20:47] Speaker 1: Rob says as he steps into the arena. I think
[20:52] Speaker 1: I could take on five of you guys. He announces,
[20:57] Speaker 1: and suddenly five of the robot on the outskirts of
[21:01] Speaker 1: the battleground activate and walk forward. One by one, they
[21:07] Speaker 1: begin to run towards Rob. Rob swings a fist and
[21:14] Speaker 1: breaks apart one of the robots into thousands of pieces.
[21:19] Speaker 1: As the next one attacks, he kicks it with his leg,
[21:23] Speaker 1: a perfect front kick that leaves the robot flying in
[21:27] Speaker 1: the other direction in multiple pieces as well. As the
[21:33] Speaker 1: next robot runs it, rob he meets it head on,
[21:38] Speaker 1: and I mean head on. He lifts his whole body
[21:42] Speaker 1: up into the air, pulls back his head, and as
[21:46] Speaker 1: he lands on the ground, he smashes the robot apart
[21:51] Speaker 1: using his forehead. The entire thing is absolutely obliterated, broken
[21:59] Speaker 1: into and thousands of pieces on the ground. As the
[22:04] Speaker 1: next two robots attack at once. He grabs them out
[22:09] Speaker 1: of the air, breaking apart their chest pieces as he
[22:13] Speaker 1: grabs on. Then he takes a robot in each hand
[22:19] Speaker 1: and smashes it together. The robots break into thousands of pieces,
[22:25] Speaker 1: and rob is victorious. He walks back out of the
[22:30] Speaker 1: battle area and says, nah, Rad, that was a lot
[22:34] Speaker 1: of fun.
[22:35] Speaker 2: Your turn.
[22:37] Speaker 1: You and Pip enter the battle arena. This could be
[22:42] Speaker 1: a lot of fun. You say, now, how many robots
[22:47] Speaker 1: would you like to take on? Let's just start with two.
[22:52] Speaker 1: I've never done this before. You say, all right, I
[22:57] Speaker 1: can add more after if you won't. Two robots activate
[23:02] Speaker 1: and begin to walk forward. They each take on a
[23:06] Speaker 1: fighting stance, and then they jump into the air. Pips
[23:12] Speaker 1: robot launching a flying kick, and yours a flying punch.
[23:19] Speaker 1: Neither of you are exactly sure what to do, and
[23:23] Speaker 1: the robots connect with both of their attacks. Strangely, you
[23:29] Speaker 1: don't feel anything. It's as if the robot just punched
[23:34] Speaker 1: a stone wall as hard as it could. You grab
[23:39] Speaker 1: onto the robot's arm, break it away from your chest,
[23:44] Speaker 1: and then strike it with your palm as hard as
[23:47] Speaker 1: you can. To your surprise, the center of the robot
[23:52] Speaker 1: goes flying and hitting the back of the cage, while
[23:56] Speaker 1: the rest of the robot still stands in front of
[23:59] Speaker 1: you until it collapses into pieces on the ground. Pip
[24:05] Speaker 1: lifts up his robot and throws it as well, smashing
[24:10] Speaker 1: it against the cage. I feel invincible. Let's try some more,
[24:16] Speaker 1: you say, and Rob activates more robots. Robot after robots
[24:23] Speaker 1: starts running towards you, and Robot after Robot gets smashed
[24:29] Speaker 1: into thousands and thousands of pieces. It turns out that
[24:34] Speaker 1: battling robots with super strength is actually kind of relaxing
[24:39] Speaker 1: for some reason.
[24:42] Speaker 2: Malad.
[24:43] Speaker 1: Then let's go check out some of the other things
[24:46] Speaker 1: and take care of them.
[24:49] Speaker 2: Rob leads you on.
[24:51] Speaker 1: A tour through the Superhero gardening camp. You see all
[24:57] Speaker 1: kinds of different plants and bushes, each one with the
[25:02] Speaker 1: ability to give you different powers ice, blueberries, fire strawberries,
[25:10] Speaker 1: and as you go you take your turn caring for
[25:14] Speaker 1: the plants themselves.
[25:17] Speaker 2: Each section of the.
[25:19] Speaker 1: Camp has its own caretaker who knows how to care
[25:22] Speaker 1: for that special plant, and you and Pip join in
[25:28] Speaker 1: watering the plants, caring for them, planting new plants out
[25:34] Speaker 1: of the seeds of the old. It's actually a pretty
[25:38] Speaker 1: good time man. That brings us to one of the
[25:42] Speaker 1: highlights of Superhero Garden in Camp, the chance to build
[25:49] Speaker 1: a plant of your very own with a super power
[25:55] Speaker 1: of your very choosing. Rob says, follow me to the
[26:02] Speaker 1: plant laboratory. Rob leads you into a large white building
[26:09] Speaker 1: that's down by the mess hall. Inside you see cubicle
[26:15] Speaker 1: after cubicle with other kids working in little lab coats
[26:22] Speaker 1: talking to computers, planting seeds into dirt and putting them
[26:28] Speaker 1: into some sort of interesting chamber that allows the plant
[26:32] Speaker 1: to grow really quickly.
[26:35] Speaker 2: Now in this lab.
[26:38] Speaker 1: You can work beside an advanced artificial intelligence that has
[26:44] Speaker 1: been programmed with different alien species from throughout the universe.
[26:52] Speaker 1: Your job is to come up with the kind of
[26:56] Speaker 1: plant you want to create, and the artificial intelligence will
[27:02] Speaker 1: help engineer a plant or a plant seed anyways, based
[27:10] Speaker 1: on what you want. It sort of takes the genetic
[27:15] Speaker 1: information it has about different alien species and implants it.
[27:22] Speaker 2: Into a seed.
[27:24] Speaker 1: You can then work with some of our gardening experts
[27:27] Speaker 1: to turn that into a plant. Our incubation chambers allow
[27:33] Speaker 1: the plants to grow at rapid speed as long as
[27:38] Speaker 1: you create something that we don't considered to be an
[27:42] Speaker 1: existential threat to the universe or others back wherever you
[27:48] Speaker 1: came from. We'll let you take it home, care for
[27:53] Speaker 1: the plant, and enjoy the fruits of your labor. Will
[28:00] Speaker 1: be your workstation, Rob says.
[28:05] Speaker 2: Again.
[28:06] Speaker 1: You find a workstation with a large computer with a
[28:10] Speaker 1: little computerized face on it, something that looks a lot
[28:15] Speaker 1: like a three D printer, a whole bunch of pots
[28:19] Speaker 1: and dirt and water, and an incubation chamber. Hello, the
[28:27] Speaker 1: computer says, what would you like to create? I'll leave
[28:33] Speaker 1: you do it, Rob says, and then he walks away.
[28:38] Speaker 1: Uh what can we create? You ask? My data banks
[28:44] Speaker 1: are full of all sorts of interesting alien life forms.
[28:49] Speaker 1: Would you like to explore some of them? The computer asks, Uh?
[28:56] Speaker 2: Sure?
[28:57] Speaker 1: What sort of power? Were you thinking? Perhaps invisibility or
[29:04] Speaker 1: the ability to manipulate one of the elements of the planet.
[29:11] Speaker 1: The computer says, do you think it would be possible
[29:16] Speaker 1: to make some sort of teleporting power?
[29:20] Speaker 2: You ask?
[29:22] Speaker 1: Searching data banks? Now interesting, there is one species, a
[29:30] Speaker 1: species of quantum teleporting frogs that seem to have the
[29:36] Speaker 1: ability to shift their existence from one point in the
[29:41] Speaker 1: universe to another. Would you like me to create this?
[29:47] Speaker 1: And merge it with some sort of seed. The computer asks, Uh, yeah, excellent,
[29:56] Speaker 1: what type of fruit would you like to create?
[30:01] Speaker 2: Well, uh, maybe.
[30:02] Speaker 1: Some strawberries, you suggest, looking over at Pip, who just
[30:07] Speaker 1: kind of shrugs his shoulders. Understood infusing genetic information from
[30:15] Speaker 1: Quantum teleporting frogs into strawberry seed. You watch as the
[30:22] Speaker 1: three D printer like device starts to activate, Light shoots
[30:27] Speaker 1: out of it, and bit by bit, two tiny strawberry
[30:33] Speaker 1: seeds are created. Finished creating, Now it's time to plant
[30:40] Speaker 1: the seeds. You and Pip both take one of the seeds.
[30:45] Speaker 1: You grab a little pot, fill it up with dirt,
[30:50] Speaker 1: water it a bit, and plant the seed inside activating
[30:56] Speaker 1: incubation chamber. Please place the plants inside. You and Pip
[31:03] Speaker 1: open up the door to the incubation chamber and place
[31:08] Speaker 1: the two pods with dirt and seeds inside it, and
[31:13] Speaker 1: you close the door. The chamber activates a light which
[31:19] Speaker 1: kind of mimics the light of the sun appears above,
[31:23] Speaker 1: and the chamber starts to hum with energy. Soon, at
[31:30] Speaker 1: some sort of accelerated speed, you see the strawberry seeds sprouting,
[31:37] Speaker 1: then growing. Then little flowers appear, and the flowers start
[31:43] Speaker 1: to turn into strawberries. When the incubation chamber beeps, the
[31:50] Speaker 1: plants are fully grown. You open up the door and
[31:56] Speaker 1: you and Pip both pull out your strawberry plants, complete
[32:01] Speaker 1: with quite a few strawberries each. Well, Pip, you think
[32:06] Speaker 1: we should try them. You ask, I, I will if.
[32:11] Speaker 2: You do, Pip says.
[32:14] Speaker 1: You place the strawberries on the counter, you each pick
[32:18] Speaker 1: one out and you take a bite. Now, the strawberries
[32:25] Speaker 1: are very delicious, but the sensation that they cause throughout
[32:31] Speaker 1: your body is kind of hard to define. It's a
[32:35] Speaker 1: sensation of being less solid, less well, less in existence
[32:44] Speaker 1: than you're used to. You never really noticed how your
[32:48] Speaker 1: body felt so firmly planted in reality before until now,
[32:55] Speaker 1: when it no longer felt that way. Your mind started
[32:59] Speaker 1: to wander around the area from place to police. You
[33:05] Speaker 1: think about the flying apple trees, and suddenly you find
[33:10] Speaker 1: yourself in between them. You think about the super strength
[33:17] Speaker 1: pear trees, and in an instant, you're there as well. Next,
[33:24] Speaker 1: you think for a second about spaceship where exactly is he?
[33:29] Speaker 1: And the answer is given to you as you appear
[33:34] Speaker 1: on the middle of the ship. You look over and
[33:38] Speaker 1: find changer in the form of some sort of alien
[33:42] Speaker 1: you've never seen before, and spaceship or the spaceship robot
[33:50] Speaker 1: sitting down on the couch, watching Netflix and drinking some
[33:56] Speaker 1: sort of drink. Clearly they got up to some interesting
[34:01] Speaker 1: things when you're not around, But just as quickly as
[34:04] Speaker 1: you see it, you appear back at the summer camp planet.
[34:11] Speaker 1: You decide to use your new power to explore a
[34:15] Speaker 1: little bit. When Pip appears beside you, you make a suggestion,
[34:21] Speaker 1: I want to go check out some of the other
[34:23] Speaker 1: summer camps. Quickly, you ask, uh, okay, I guess it
[34:29] Speaker 1: couldn't hurt anything. Pip says, I want to lead the way.
[34:35] Speaker 1: Pip asks, okay. You step over and place your hand
[34:40] Speaker 1: on Pip's shoulder. Maybe that'll allow you to both teleport
[34:44] Speaker 1: to the same place. Then you close your rise and
[34:48] Speaker 1: you think about some of the different places you've seen
[34:52] Speaker 1: on your way to this summer camp or one of
[34:55] Speaker 1: the others. You reappear at the Water Slide Camp MP.
[35:01] Speaker 1: As you look around, you see an intricate set of
[35:05] Speaker 1: slides going in all different directions. Kids happily running up
[35:10] Speaker 1: giant staircases, sliding down on large tubes, and generally having
[35:18] Speaker 1: a good time. This place looks awesome. Let's see what
[35:22] Speaker 1: else there is. You close your eyes and again you
[35:26] Speaker 1: reappear in a pile of garbage. You look around, and
[35:34] Speaker 1: there aren't many campers to see. All you see is
[35:38] Speaker 1: a giant landfill. Maybe this is where they put all
[35:43] Speaker 1: their garbage. This can't possibly be a summer camp, can it,
[35:48] Speaker 1: you say, as you look around at the trash, But strangely,
[35:54] Speaker 1: you do notice a few campers and a camp counselor
[35:59] Speaker 1: digging through the piles of trash. It's not your idea
[36:04] Speaker 1: of a summer camp, but it could be kind of cool.
[36:09] Speaker 1: You close your eyes again and you reappear on a
[36:14] Speaker 1: summer camp where all of the buildings look like they're
[36:18] Speaker 1: made of chocolate. Amazing, But the ground is covered in
[36:24] Speaker 1: something strange.
[36:26] Speaker 2: It is that coffee on the.
[36:28] Speaker 1: Ground, you ask, And then as you take a step forward,
[36:33] Speaker 1: you slip, fall towards the ground and instantly disappear, reappearing
[36:40] Speaker 1: again in a well. A pile of clouds pit appears
[36:47] Speaker 1: beside you, and the cloud lifts up off of the ground.
[36:53] Speaker 1: For some reason, it's solid, and you find yourself surrounded
[36:59] Speaker 1: by their campers, just sleeping on their own clouds drifting
[37:04] Speaker 1: up into the air, floating around lazily. Your watch beeps,
[37:12] Speaker 1: indicating that whoa, it's way past bedtime. We need to
[37:17] Speaker 1: get back to camp, you say. You place your hand
[37:22] Speaker 1: on Pip's shoulder again, close your eyes, and reappear standing
[37:28] Speaker 1: in front. If you're teleporting strawberry plants, you and Pip
[37:33] Speaker 1: each grab a hold of them. I'll meet you back
[37:36] Speaker 1: at the cabin, you say, and with that you disappear,
[37:42] Speaker 1: reappearing right in front of your bunk. You place the
[37:47] Speaker 1: little strawberry plant down on a shelf beside the bunk,
[37:52] Speaker 1: climb into bed, and Pip soon appears and does the same.
[37:58] Speaker 1: This is so cool, Oh, I can't wait to try
[38:02] Speaker 1: out other powers. As you lay in the bed, you
[38:07] Speaker 1: feel the teleportation power start to fade, and once again
[38:13] Speaker 1: you feel more solid. You pull the covers up to
[38:18] Speaker 1: your chin, close your eyes, and lay your head back
[38:24] Speaker 1: on the soft pillow. With each breath, you begin to
[38:31] Speaker 1: sink down deeper into the comfortable mattress as you release
[38:37] Speaker 1: all of the tension from your arms and legs, and
[38:43] Speaker 1: the more you breathe, the deeper you sink, the more
[38:49] Speaker 1: relaxed your muscles become. And the more your mind begins
[38:55] Speaker 1: to wander off to thoughts of new dreams and new
[39:01] Speaker 1: adventures to come. Good night everyone. You wake up the
[39:08] Speaker 1: next morning inside your very own log cabin. You and
[39:15] Speaker 1: Pip quickly run outside to greet the other villagers. You
[39:20] Speaker 1: watch as they begin to make their way out of
[39:23] Speaker 1: their very own cabins, sit around the campfire and cook
[39:29] Speaker 1: some breakfast. You walk over and sit down with them. Wow,
[39:36] Speaker 1: good morning, Bill says, Good morning Bill. What else can
[39:41] Speaker 1: we do to get this camp going? You ask, well,
[39:46] Speaker 1: we're gonna need a number of things, starting with a
[39:52] Speaker 1: storage area. Man. So you, Pip, Bill, and Edna get
[39:59] Speaker 1: to work building the storage area, a place where food
[40:04] Speaker 1: and water and other supplies can be stored for the
[40:07] Speaker 1: villagers to use. When that's done, it's time to build
[40:13] Speaker 1: a place to make better meals. Then it's time to
[40:17] Speaker 1: build a blacksmith forge. Then, of course, you need to
[40:22] Speaker 1: build new houses and shelters to have more villagers come
[40:27] Speaker 1: and work in those stations. You, Pip, Bill, and Edna
[40:33] Speaker 1: spend day after day building the town up, until you
[40:38] Speaker 1: soon have hundreds of workers. You have houses and farms,
[40:46] Speaker 1: seamstresses and crafters, wood cutters, miners, and even fishermen and hunters.
[40:57] Speaker 1: Once the town is pretty much built up and you
[41:00] Speaker 1: have all the right people working in it, you spend
[41:04] Speaker 1: days just kind of living for a living, gathering water,
[41:10] Speaker 1: eating food, caring for animals, tending crops, talking to others.
[41:18] Speaker 1: It's actually a really good time, but it does eventually
[41:24] Speaker 1: start to feel like it might be time for something new.
[41:28] Speaker 1: After spending about a week at Pioneer Camp and building
[41:34] Speaker 1: a extremely impressive village for that amount of time, you
[41:40] Speaker 1: and Pip go to see Bill and Edna. Guys, this
[41:45] Speaker 1: has been really fun. We actually kind of thought this
[41:49] Speaker 1: camp would be terrible, but we soon realized it. It's amazing.
[41:54] Speaker 1: The thing is, I think we're kind of ready to
[41:57] Speaker 1: move on. You say, ah, I thought this would happen.
[42:03] Speaker 1: Bill says, oh, also, we got a message from headquarters.
[42:08] Speaker 1: Apparently you two have been on the waiting list for
[42:11] Speaker 1: some sort of survival camp. Well, it turns out it's
[42:17] Speaker 1: ready to go. The helicopter's coming shortly. Helicopter, you say, man.
[42:27] Speaker 1: Then you hear a thundering sort of sound. Helicopter bleeds.
[42:35] Speaker 1: A helicopter's shadow appears on the ground, and you look
[42:40] Speaker 1: up to see two men dressed in army outfits lowering
[42:45] Speaker 1: themselves down on large ropes. All right, it's time to
[42:50] Speaker 1: come with us, one of the men says. You will
[42:53] Speaker 1: be dropped off at the secret survival camp location. Gather
[42:59] Speaker 1: your things immediately, the man orders. So you and Pip
[43:05] Speaker 1: head to your cabins, pack up your duffel bags, and
[43:10] Speaker 1: walk back to where the soldiers are standing on the
[43:12] Speaker 1: ground holding their ropes. One of the soldiers holds another
[43:18] Speaker 1: rope out towards you, a rope with some sort of
[43:22] Speaker 1: harness on it. The harness immediately wraps around your body
[43:27] Speaker 1: like automatically, and the rope begins to pull you up
[43:32] Speaker 1: into the air. The soldiers make their way back up
[43:37] Speaker 1: as well, and then help pull you into the helicopter.
[43:42] Speaker 1: The helicopter quickly takes off, flies far over the different
[43:48] Speaker 1: Pioneer villages of Pioneer Camp and off into the distance
[43:55] Speaker 1: over many different summer camps. Some sort of amusement park
[44:01] Speaker 1: camp with a whole bunch of roller coasters, that water
[44:05] Speaker 1: camp you've seen before but never actually been to, and
[44:11] Speaker 1: again a camp that looks like it's just a bunch
[44:14] Speaker 1: of coffee spilled on the ground, and buildings made of chocolate.
[44:20] Speaker 1: No one's hanging out at that camp, and you still
[44:23] Speaker 1: can't figure out why it exists. But soon the helicopter
[44:28] Speaker 1: comes across a new area, an area covered in trees
[44:33] Speaker 1: of all different shapes and sizes. It honestly doesn't look
[44:40] Speaker 1: like a real forest. It's almost too diverse. Trees that
[44:46] Speaker 1: would grow in all different parts of Earth are all
[44:49] Speaker 1: growing together.
[44:51] Speaker 2: It's like a.
[44:52] Speaker 1: Mix between a jungle and a forest, with some alien planets.
[44:58] Speaker 2: Thrown in there.
[45:00] Speaker 1: All right, we are at the destination, the soldier says,
[45:05] Speaker 1: lowering you down the harness, then slowly lowers you and
[45:11] Speaker 1: Pip down towards the ground. It releases, pulls back up
[45:16] Speaker 1: to the helicopter, and the helicopter flies away. You and
[45:22] Speaker 1: Pip find yourself standing in front of a single camp
[45:27] Speaker 1: counselor with well just a pile of stuff. Welcome to
[45:34] Speaker 1: survival camp, the counselor says, my name is Alexander, and
[45:41] Speaker 1: I will be your camp counselor. Uh Hi, Alexander, you
[45:47] Speaker 1: say hi, Pip says as well, raising his hands slightly.
[45:54] Speaker 1: Now in survival camp, the key idea is too, sir,
[46:01] Speaker 1: you have some supplies here a sleeping bag, a sleeping pad,
[46:07] Speaker 1: and basic tools. Each of you will have one multi tool.
[46:13] Speaker 1: I suggest carrying it in your pocket, Alexander says as
[46:18] Speaker 1: he hands both you and Peb a multi tool. This
[46:23] Speaker 1: has knives, saws, drills, magnifying glasses, can openers, and just
[46:32] Speaker 1: about any other tool you could need. Now, it certainly
[46:38] Speaker 1: is not the best knife, and it is not the
[46:42] Speaker 1: best screwdriver, and it is not the best drill. But
[46:47] Speaker 1: in a survival situation, it is your landline. There are
[46:53] Speaker 1: also an assortment of some larger tools, a fold out
[46:59] Speaker 1: saw for some flint and steer, and lots and lots
[47:07] Speaker 1: of paracord. You can never have too much paracord in
[47:14] Speaker 1: a survival situation, Alexander explains. Now there is much to
[47:21] Speaker 1: do in order to have somewhere to sleep tonight. You
[47:26] Speaker 1: will have to first create a shelter. Uh okay, out
[47:32] Speaker 1: of what you ask. Well, you can create the shelter
[47:38] Speaker 1: out of anything you wish, anything you can find. However,
[47:44] Speaker 1: if you want some ideas, I also have a special
[47:49] Speaker 1: survival book for each of you. Alexander then hands you
[47:54] Speaker 1: and Pip little pocket sized books. These books have the
[48:00] Speaker 1: basics of all survival how to create fire, how to
[48:05] Speaker 1: create shelter, how to find and identify different plants. I
[48:11] Speaker 1: highly recommend looking at it before eating almost anything. If
[48:16] Speaker 1: you do not recognize it, it might be poison ivy
[48:21] Speaker 1: or just plain poisonous. Now you will find this forest
[48:27] Speaker 1: to be abundant in almost all things. We specially created
[48:32] Speaker 1: it for a perfect balance. There are many fruits, There
[48:37] Speaker 1: are many naturally occurring vegetables. There is plenty to forage
[48:43] Speaker 1: if you know what you are looking for. There are
[48:47] Speaker 1: many animals in the area as well. Most of them
[48:52] Speaker 1: are wildly friendly. You raise your hand in the air. Yes, you,
[48:59] Speaker 1: the man's says.
[49:01] Speaker 2: Just a quick question.
[49:04] Speaker 1: If you perfectly created this place with all of the
[49:08] Speaker 1: you know, like edible vegetables and all that stuff, why
[49:11] Speaker 1: did you put in poison ivy? You ask, Ah, that
[49:15] Speaker 1: is an excellent question. Survival is no fun if there
[49:20] Speaker 1: is not a little bit of danger, and in this case,
[49:25] Speaker 1: the main danger is poison ivy. If you would like
[49:30] Speaker 1: to see a picture of it, just look at the
[49:34] Speaker 1: index of your book. You flip through the back of
[49:38] Speaker 1: the book until you come to the letter P. You
[49:42] Speaker 1: scan down it and sure enough you find poison ivy.
[49:46] Speaker 1: Page sixty four. You flip to page sixty four and
[49:51] Speaker 1: there's a perfect picture of poison ivy, a single stem,
[49:57] Speaker 1: three leaves, and an explanation that this stuff will leave
[50:02] Speaker 1: you very, very itchy. It explains that it's covered in
[50:08] Speaker 1: some sort of oil that you can't quite pronounce, and
[50:13] Speaker 1: most people's body has an allergic reaction to the stuff,
[50:17] Speaker 1: making them red, itchy and blotchy. It'll certainly be on
[50:23] Speaker 1: the lookout for that. Now, I suggest you pick a
[50:28] Speaker 1: shelter design and get to work. You and Pip start
[50:33] Speaker 1: flipping through your books looking at all of the different
[50:37] Speaker 1: kinds of makeshift shelters. There's like luck cab and style ones,
[50:44] Speaker 1: though those look like they take a lot of work,
[50:48] Speaker 1: and they're sort of a framed ones, and well, the
[50:53] Speaker 1: lean to style of shelter kind of catches your eye.
[50:58] Speaker 1: The forest around you has all sorts of gigantic trees. Pip,
[51:05] Speaker 1: what if we do one of these shelters. We can
[51:08] Speaker 1: lean a whole bunch of branches up against one of
[51:11] Speaker 1: those giant tree trunks and then cover it to keep
[51:15] Speaker 1: us safe from the rain and weather and that sort
[51:19] Speaker 1: of stuff. You suggest, Okay, that seems like a great idea.
[51:26] Speaker 1: Pip responds, and the two of you get to work.
[51:31] Speaker 1: You each grab one of the larger saws and head
[51:35] Speaker 1: off into the forest. You cut down large limbs and
[51:42] Speaker 1: seedling sized trees. You collect already dead branches, and you
[51:48] Speaker 1: bring each one back, leaning it up against the tree,
[51:53] Speaker 1: creating a sort of makeshift roof. When you're done, you
[51:59] Speaker 1: gather branches that are full of leaves and pine needles.
[52:04] Speaker 1: You place them on top of each other to cover
[52:08] Speaker 1: up the shelter, and before long you and Pip stand
[52:13] Speaker 1: proudly in front of the thing. Ah, well this work,
[52:17] Speaker 1: you ask, where Alexander responds, there is only one way
[52:24] Speaker 1: to find out. He lifts up his wrist and starts
[52:29] Speaker 1: pressing buttons on his watch. Then he looks up at
[52:34] Speaker 1: the sky, pulls out an umbrella and opens it up.
[52:39] Speaker 1: The sky quickly darkens Gray's storm clouds form overhead, thunder
[52:47] Speaker 1: and the lightning begin, and you and Pip run into
[52:53] Speaker 1: your shelter.
[52:54] Speaker 3: The rain starts.
[52:56] Speaker 1: At first, the shelter kind of holds up, but as
[53:00] Speaker 1: the rain continues, the shelter begins to leak. Then, as
[53:06] Speaker 1: the wind blows the leaves and branch as you stacked
[53:11] Speaker 1: on top start to sort of blow away. The storm
[53:16] Speaker 1: stops as quickly as it started. Alexander closes his umbrella
[53:22] Speaker 1: and walks over to the two of you, still huddled
[53:26] Speaker 1: underneath the completely broken down shelter. Well, it was a
[53:31] Speaker 1: good attempt, but I suggest you do some deeper research
[53:36] Speaker 1: into the book. You and Pip continue to read through
[53:41] Speaker 1: the book. You read about all sorts of different ways
[53:46] Speaker 1: to reinforce a shelter. One of the ones that looks
[53:51] Speaker 1: kind of appealing to you is well clay. You wonder
[53:58] Speaker 1: if there are any clay depausit. It's around here. You
[54:02] Speaker 1: and Pip go on a search and soon come to
[54:06] Speaker 1: a river bed. Sure enough, on the side of the
[54:09] Speaker 1: river bed is a gigantic depause it of well sand
[54:15] Speaker 1: and clay. You grab handful after a handful of the
[54:21] Speaker 1: clay and walk it over towards your shelter. You continue
[54:26] Speaker 1: until you have a gigantic pile of it. Then you
[54:30] Speaker 1: and Pip fix up the lean to shelter and begin
[54:35] Speaker 1: smearing it and clay filling in all of the gaps
[54:39] Speaker 1: between the sticks.
[54:42] Speaker 2: Very good.
[54:43] Speaker 1: The sun should make that harder before you know it. However, clay,
[54:49] Speaker 1: if not fully hardened, will dissolve in water as well.
[54:55] Speaker 1: I suggest covering your roof in something else. Some bark
[55:01] Speaker 1: can be a good option. To demonstrate this, Alexander walks
[55:07] Speaker 1: over to a tree that's fallen over in the forest.
[55:11] Speaker 1: He uses his multi tool to cut a seam all
[55:15] Speaker 1: the way around it on both sides, then straight down
[55:19] Speaker 1: the middle. He then peels off a gigantic strip of bark.
[55:25] Speaker 1: Watch this, he says. He spreads out the shingle onto
[55:31] Speaker 1: the bottom of the shelter. Then he uses the drill
[55:35] Speaker 1: in his multi tool and starts to drill two holes
[55:41] Speaker 1: through the shingle and into one of the branches, one
[55:45] Speaker 1: on either side. He then grabs a twig that looks
[55:50] Speaker 1: like it's about the right size and hammers it into
[55:53] Speaker 1: the hole, cutting off the access after bark shingles put
[55:59] Speaker 1: on with wooden nails. It is more effective than you
[56:03] Speaker 1: might think. So you and Pip, following his example, begin
[56:10] Speaker 1: to collect more of the bark, cutting it off strip
[56:13] Speaker 1: after strip. Pip works on creating very straight little wooden
[56:19] Speaker 1: sticks about the same size, and you work on drilling
[56:24] Speaker 1: holes through the shingles and into the shelter. It's something
[56:30] Speaker 1: that seems easier than it is. It actually takes a
[56:33] Speaker 1: lot of effort, a lot of turning, a lot of twisting,
[56:37] Speaker 1: and your wrist is kind of sore by the end,
[56:40] Speaker 1: But slowly you and Pip manage to cover the entire
[56:46] Speaker 1: thing in shingles. Very good, Ready for test number two,
[56:52] Speaker 1: Alexander says, pressing buttons on his watch. Again, you and
[56:57] Speaker 1: Pip again run into a little shell helter and hunker
[57:01] Speaker 1: down while rain clouds form above you and the rain
[57:06] Speaker 1: starts to fall. This time, however, you and Pip stay
[57:12] Speaker 1: bone dry. You peek out of the shelter while the
[57:16] Speaker 1: storm's going on. You watch the water fall down on
[57:21] Speaker 1: the shingles and drip from one to the next. Perfect,
[57:27] Speaker 1: you say, Very good, Alexander says. As the storm disappears,
[57:34] Speaker 1: when the sun comes out once again, your shelter is
[57:39] Speaker 1: ready for sleeping in. So you and Pip go about
[57:45] Speaker 1: making some beds or bed frames, stick legs, stick frames,
[57:52] Speaker 1: and sticks all the way across the top. Alexander shows
[57:58] Speaker 1: you how to split a stick in half using a
[58:01] Speaker 1: knife or a hatchet, and you use this technique to
[58:06] Speaker 1: make a nice flat bed surface. You spread out your
[58:10] Speaker 1: sleeping pads and your sleeping bags, and you and Pip
[58:16] Speaker 1: look at your newly finished shelter already for nighttime.
[58:22] Speaker 2: You even create.
[58:23] Speaker 1: A little bit of a makeshift door out of sticks
[58:27] Speaker 1: and wooden nails. It isn't perfect, but it does give
[58:32] Speaker 1: you a sense of safety. Very good. Now it is
[58:36] Speaker 1: time to gather some food. Go out into the forest,
[58:40] Speaker 1: find all you can find, then bring it back here
[58:45] Speaker 1: and we will start a campfire. So you and Pip
[58:50] Speaker 1: head out into the forest once again. The first thing
[58:54] Speaker 1: you come across is kind of hard to miss. A
[58:58] Speaker 1: banana tree, fole of green and yellow bananas surrounding the
[59:05] Speaker 1: banana tree, or a whole bunch of monkeys. Hopefully they're friendly,
[59:11] Speaker 1: you say as you walk up to the tree. H hey, guys,
[59:17] Speaker 1: you mind if we borrow some bananas? A rather curious
[59:21] Speaker 1: monkey walks over to the tree, breaks off a bunch
[59:26] Speaker 1: of bananas, walks over to you, and hands them to you.
[59:31] Speaker 1: You grab a hold of them. Oh, thank you, you say.
[59:37] Speaker 1: The monkey then stares at you, giving you a look
[59:41] Speaker 1: that you somehow know means now, what are you gonna
[59:45] Speaker 1: do with them? You break off a banana, peel it
[59:50] Speaker 1: and take a bite. You nod your head. Good banana,
[59:56] Speaker 1: you say, and the monkey starts to clap. From there,
[1:00:01] Speaker 1: you and Pip decide to gather more things. You find apples,
[1:00:08] Speaker 1: you find wild leaks, and you come across a very
[1:00:14] Speaker 1: strange looking plant. You flip through your book until you
[1:00:18] Speaker 1: find a matching description, survival potatoes. Apparently these potatoes taste
[1:00:27] Speaker 1: like steak when you cook them over a campfire. I
[1:00:32] Speaker 1: don't think those exist on earth, but I want to
[1:00:36] Speaker 1: try them, you say to Pip. All right, Pip says,
[1:00:42] Speaker 1: So the two of you follow the instructions and dig
[1:00:45] Speaker 1: down deep into the dirt. Sure enough, you begin to
[1:00:50] Speaker 1: pull out gigantic and very hearty looking potatoes. You gather berries, strawberries, rasberry,
[1:01:01] Speaker 1: as well as some type of wild growing wheat that
[1:01:06] Speaker 1: the book says you can turn into a makeshift bread
[1:01:10] Speaker 1: or bannock of some kind. You bring your bounty back
[1:01:15] Speaker 1: to Alexander and place it in front of him. Ah,
[1:01:20] Speaker 1: very good, you have gathered all of the supplies needed.
[1:01:25] Speaker 1: Now we must start the fire. First. You will need
[1:01:31] Speaker 1: very dry tinder. Try to find anything that will burn well,
[1:01:36] Speaker 1: dry bark, dry sticks, and if you can find it,
[1:01:42] Speaker 1: some pine sap or tar of some kind. So you
[1:01:48] Speaker 1: and Pip once again head out and start gathering as
[1:01:52] Speaker 1: many sticks and branches as you can possibly find. You
[1:01:58] Speaker 1: also find a pine tree. It looks like it's leaking
[1:02:01] Speaker 1: sap out of the side. You use a stick to
[1:02:05] Speaker 1: scoop up as much of it as you can and
[1:02:08] Speaker 1: kind of rub it off onto a dry piece of bark.
[1:02:12] Speaker 1: You bring back all of the sticks and pieces of
[1:02:15] Speaker 1: wood and place them in front of Alexander. Excellent job.
[1:02:21] Speaker 1: This will allow us to have clean water and cooked food.
[1:02:26] Speaker 1: Now what we do is we use the flint and
[1:02:31] Speaker 1: steal Watch this, the man says. When he strikes the
[1:02:37] Speaker 1: flint with a metal striker, some kind a bright spark
[1:02:43] Speaker 1: ignites and flies to the ground. Knocking the flint and
[1:02:48] Speaker 1: the steel together can create very hot pieces of metal.
[1:02:54] Speaker 1: If you can get one to land on some tinder
[1:02:57] Speaker 1: or your pine tar, you to be able to start
[1:03:01] Speaker 1: a fire. Now you build the fire up slowly, small
[1:03:07] Speaker 1: sticks first until they are well caught on fire, then
[1:03:12] Speaker 1: larger sticks, and so on. Alexander explains. You bend down
[1:03:19] Speaker 1: and grab a hold of the flint and the steel.
[1:03:24] Speaker 1: You create a small little pile of sticks inside a
[1:03:29] Speaker 1: little stone circle that Alexander must have created while you
[1:03:33] Speaker 1: were gathering things. You place the piece of bark with
[1:03:37] Speaker 1: the pine tar on it in the center, and a
[1:03:41] Speaker 1: whole bunch of other things surrounding it. You begin to
[1:03:45] Speaker 1: strike the flint with the steel. It takes a few tries,
[1:03:50] Speaker 1: but soon enough a spark flies out and lands directly
[1:03:55] Speaker 1: on the pine sap.
[1:03:57] Speaker 2: It starts to smoke.
[1:03:59] Speaker 1: Very good, Now blow on it, Alexander says, So you do.
[1:04:06] Speaker 1: Each time you blow, it starts to glow a bright
[1:04:09] Speaker 1: orange color and smokes a lot, and then it catches
[1:04:15] Speaker 1: on fire. Quickly put the little sticks on, he says.
[1:04:20] Speaker 1: And so you start putting the little sticks on. They
[1:04:24] Speaker 1: set on fire too, And you continue to build the
[1:04:28] Speaker 1: fire outwards, starting with the tiniest of sticks, moving up
[1:04:33] Speaker 1: to medium sized sticks, and before very long at all,
[1:04:38] Speaker 1: you get up to full sized sticks. The fire's burning
[1:04:43] Speaker 1: and well doesn't have much of a chance of going
[1:04:47] Speaker 1: out anymore unless one of those gigantic rain clouds appears again.
[1:04:53] Speaker 1: Very good, Now go get some water. We must boil it,
[1:04:59] Speaker 1: Alexander said, as handing you and Pip a large pod.
[1:05:03] Speaker 2: Uh why do we have to boil it?
[1:05:06] Speaker 1: You ask, Well, you don't have to boil it, but
[1:05:10] Speaker 1: I recommend boiling it to make sure all things are killed.
[1:05:16] Speaker 1: You do not need to get sick in the woods.
[1:05:19] Speaker 1: So you and Pip go off towards the lake, scoop
[1:05:24] Speaker 1: up some water and bring it back to Alexander. He's
[1:05:28] Speaker 1: sort of set up a makeshift burner using some stones
[1:05:32] Speaker 1: on the side of the fire. He places the pod
[1:05:36] Speaker 1: there and slowly it starts to simmer. Now, let's see
[1:05:41] Speaker 1: what you have. Oh, my goodness, you've found them, Alexander says,
[1:05:49] Speaker 1: the survival potato. This is one of the best things
[1:05:54] Speaker 1: you will have ever eaten. Alexander shows you how to
[1:05:59] Speaker 1: peel the potato using an attachment on your survival tool.
[1:06:05] Speaker 1: You then place them on the end of a pointy stick,
[1:06:08] Speaker 1: which you also create with your survival tool, and hold
[1:06:13] Speaker 1: them over top of the fire. Soon, the most wonderful
[1:06:18] Speaker 1: smell fills the air, a smell that makes your mouth
[1:06:23] Speaker 1: water and your stomach growl. That should be enough, Alexander says,
[1:06:31] Speaker 1: Now take a bite once it is cool. Of course,
[1:06:36] Speaker 1: you blow on the survival potato and look at it
[1:06:41] Speaker 1: in your hand, turning it from left to right. It
[1:06:46] Speaker 1: actually looks like a steak too, like a like a
[1:06:50] Speaker 1: large potato shaped steak. When it's ready. You take a bite,
[1:06:58] Speaker 1: and sure enough it's one of the best things you've
[1:07:02] Speaker 1: ever tasted. These are delicious. You quickly peel more and
[1:07:09] Speaker 1: cook more of them over the fire. You eat until
[1:07:13] Speaker 1: your stomachs are full, and drink plenty of water as well. Now,
[1:07:20] Speaker 1: my friends, it is time to go to bed. Have
[1:07:24] Speaker 1: an excellent night, Alexander says as he walks over to
[1:07:30] Speaker 1: a tent that he set up. Why does he get
[1:07:33] Speaker 1: a tent, you wonder, But you and Pip head off
[1:07:38] Speaker 1: into your fort, a place that you kind of want
[1:07:41] Speaker 1: to sleep anyways. You lift up the makeshift stick door
[1:07:47] Speaker 1: and pull it opened. You and Pip both climb into
[1:07:52] Speaker 1: your sleeping bags atop your sleeping pads, and you place
[1:07:58] Speaker 1: your head down on a well a pillow sack full
[1:08:02] Speaker 1: of clothing that you brought with you, a makeshift survival pillow.
[1:08:09] Speaker 1: It's surprisingly comfortable, though. You close your eyes and you
[1:08:16] Speaker 1: just listen to the sounds, and you just focus on
[1:08:21] Speaker 1: your breath, noticing your stomach rise and fall with each
[1:08:28] Speaker 1: relaxing breath, until soon you find yourself getting very sleepy,
[1:08:39] Speaker 1: and before you know it, you drift off to a
[1:08:43] Speaker 1: world of new dreams and new adventures to come. Good
[1:08:49] Speaker 1: night everyone, m m M.
[1:13:51] Speaker 5: Never samm.
[1:20:49] Speaker 4: Given more th must mean more.
[1:30:03] Speaker 5: No more name no.
[1:38:33] Speaker 1: More, m.
[1:40:46] Speaker 4: M m M never never, m.
[1:51:12] Speaker 1: M M.
[1:52:47] Speaker 4: More On.
[1:53:42] Speaker 5: Union, no
[1:56:23] Speaker 4: No,
