[0:26] Speaker 1: to fight magical creatures. Most recently we've been involved in
[0:31] Speaker 1: a deity level tournament where you know, magical creatures battle
[0:37] Speaker 1: other magical creatures. And we have a perfect listener suggestion

[3:46] Speaker 4: Well?
[3:47] Speaker 1: I'm pretty sure we have the last round of the
[3:50] Speaker 1: preliminary deity level tournament. You answer, now, yeah, Well, as
[3:58] Speaker 1: long as we beat this one next person, I guess
[4:02] Speaker 1: we move on to the actual tournament. That's right, you say,
[4:07] Speaker 1: I want to go get some breakfast. Doe I ever,
[4:12] Speaker 1: once again, you and Magnus head down the elevator and
[4:17] Speaker 1: get that sweet, sweet Continental Hotel breakfast, a buffet of
[4:25] Speaker 1: all sorts of breakfast treats and treasures. Following that, you
[4:32] Speaker 1: head over to one of the computer screens. You present
[4:35] Speaker 1: your ID card from your card core, and a little
[4:40] Speaker 1: schedule pomps up in front of you. You are up
[4:44] Speaker 1: against h someone named Mave in fifteen minutes Building five
[4:54] Speaker 1: Arena one. All right, Magnus, we better get over to
[4:58] Speaker 1: Building five, you say. You run outside and immediately summon
[5:04] Speaker 1: your wing card. Two powerful energy wings shoot out behind
[5:11] Speaker 1: your back, and you easily float up in the air
[5:15] Speaker 1: over top of the rest of the crowd. Magnus lifts
[5:19] Speaker 1: up off the ground using his own wings and floats
[5:22] Speaker 1: beside you. You immediately head over to Building five. You
[5:29] Speaker 1: land in front of the doors, retract your wing card
[5:34] Speaker 1: and head inside, straight to the registration table.
[5:39] Speaker 4: AH.
[5:40] Speaker 1: Welcome, Ah, please present your id. The man behind the
[5:45] Speaker 1: table says, you present your tournament id once again. He
[5:51] Speaker 1: scans it with a little device and looks on his computer.
[5:56] Speaker 1: Very good, You will be competing in h Irena number
[6:02] Speaker 1: one very shortly. I suggest you get there right away.
[6:08] Speaker 1: It's that way, he says, pointing to his left. You
[6:12] Speaker 1: head over to the giant number one sign, climb in
[6:16] Speaker 1: the elevator with Magnus beside you, and press the button.
[6:21] Speaker 4: The doors close.
[6:23] Speaker 1: The elevator lifts up to the next floor, and you
[6:27] Speaker 1: step out onto a tournament surface that looks just like
[6:33] Speaker 1: all the other ones. A real dirt and rock ground,
[6:38] Speaker 1: a little pool of water, some shrubbery and living plants
[6:44] Speaker 1: and grass, and of course air. There's air everywhere after all.
[6:50] Speaker 1: Once again, you're the last one there. Your opponent, Mave
[6:55] Speaker 1: is already waiting at the center beside the referee. You
[7:01] Speaker 1: walk up, shake Maeve's hand, and introduce yourself. All right there, everyone,
[7:08] Speaker 1: Welcome to another preliminary round of the Deity level tournament.
[7:16] Speaker 1: You all know the rules. This is what they call
[7:21] Speaker 1: sudden death. You lose, you're out. You win, well, you
[7:28] Speaker 1: go on to the real Deity level tournament. Now, on
[7:34] Speaker 1: my left we have Mave along with her chosen magical creature,
[7:41] Speaker 1: splatter Cat. On the right, we got this person here, uh,
[7:49] Speaker 1: whatever your name is, along with a fire dragon named Magnus.
[7:58] Speaker 1: Please proceed to your sir Guls and I will announce
[8:01] Speaker 1: the beginning of the match as you always have before.
[8:07] Speaker 1: You walk back to your little protective circle. Almost immediately,
[8:12] Speaker 1: of force field forms around your body all the way
[8:16] Speaker 1: up to the ceiling. Mave does the same on the
[8:20] Speaker 1: other side, and the referee floats into the air, covered
[8:25] Speaker 1: by a force field of his own. You give Magnus
[8:29] Speaker 1: a little nod, and immediately he begins to evolve, growing
[8:34] Speaker 1: larger and larger and larger, before shrinking down a little
[8:40] Speaker 1: bit to his deity level, form a large and powerful
[8:45] Speaker 1: black fire dragonling with veins of pure heat energy. Across
[8:53] Speaker 1: from him stands the splatter Cat, a fairly ordinary looking
[8:59] Speaker 1: house cat, though it too suddenly starts to grow larger
[9:06] Speaker 1: and larger and larger, until it's closer to the size
[9:11] Speaker 1: of an elephant than a cat. Its fur lights up
[9:16] Speaker 1: with little spots that solidify into different colors of well,
[9:22] Speaker 1: spots that look kind of like paint. You wonder exactly
[9:27] Speaker 1: what this splattered cat does? All right, everybody, we're going
[9:33] Speaker 1: to begin the match in three two one go. Magnus
[9:40] Speaker 1: decides not to waste any time. He begins to glow,
[9:46] Speaker 1: slams his claws down into the ground, and energy spreads
[9:51] Speaker 1: out from them, cracking the ground into little bits before
[9:57] Speaker 1: melting it and transforming it into lava. Little veins of
[10:02] Speaker 1: lava begin to form, and the splatter Cat jumps up
[10:07] Speaker 1: in the air, lifts its tail, and whips it towards Magnus.
[10:13] Speaker 1: A splatter of what looks like red paint hits Magnus
[10:18] Speaker 1: directly in the chest. It doesn't seem to hurt him
[10:22] Speaker 1: or anything, but it does glow a strange color, and
[10:27] Speaker 1: slowly the little streaks of lava start to sort of
[10:33] Speaker 1: harden up again, back into obsidian. Magnus slams his claws
[10:41] Speaker 1: down into the ground again, but this time nothing happens.
[10:48] Speaker 4: No lava, no anything.
[10:52] Speaker 1: Ah, what's going on, he says, My lava power seem
[10:58] Speaker 1: to be.
[11:00] Speaker 4: Or something.
[11:02] Speaker 1: Try a different element, you, yell to Magnus, quickly listening
[11:07] Speaker 1: but looking rather shaken. Magnus jumps to the side, reaches
[11:12] Speaker 1: towards the water with his hand and sort of telepathically
[11:16] Speaker 1: lifts it up out of the pool, freezing it into
[11:20] Speaker 1: a huge spike before launching it at the cat. The
[11:24] Speaker 1: cat jumps out of the way, flicks its tail, and
[11:28] Speaker 1: hits Magnus with another blast of paint.
[11:33] Speaker 4: Again.
[11:34] Speaker 1: The paint glows for a moment before well, just turning
[11:40] Speaker 1: into a big splotch of paint all across his body.
[11:44] Speaker 1: He attempts to reach for the water once again, but
[11:48] Speaker 1: this time nothing happens. The water doesn't move, nothing lifts
[11:54] Speaker 1: up into the air. My water element's blocked now, now,
[12:01] Speaker 1: what is this thing doing? Well, I'm not entirely sure,
[12:07] Speaker 1: you say, but if I were you, I wouldn't get
[12:09] Speaker 1: hit by that paint anymore, right, Magnus says, as the
[12:14] Speaker 1: splatter cad fires another blast of paint towards him. Magnus
[12:20] Speaker 1: immediately reaches into the ground and has rocks and earth
[12:25] Speaker 1: shoot up in front of him, blocking the splatter of paint. Luckily,
[12:30] Speaker 1: his straight up earth powers still seem to be working.
[12:35] Speaker 1: He stomps on the ground again, sending rocks up in
[12:39] Speaker 1: the air, then with a flick of his tail, he
[12:43] Speaker 1: sends them flying towards the splatter cat. The cat jumps
[12:47] Speaker 1: to the left, jumps to the right, and gets hit
[12:51] Speaker 1: by one of the rocks directly in the center, sending
[12:54] Speaker 1: the cat flying backwards and slamming against the wall. It
[13:00] Speaker 1: gets up, shakes the dust off its fur, and hisses clearly, yeah,
[13:08] Speaker 1: that old thing made it angry.
[13:10] Speaker 4: And apparently a lot more aggressive. The cat charges towards.
[13:16] Speaker 1: Magnus and starts to launch splatter after splatter of paint.
[13:22] Speaker 1: Magnus uses the power of earth to shoot up little
[13:26] Speaker 1: walls blocking the paint, before firing little pieces of rock
[13:31] Speaker 1: from the wall back at the creature. The defensive strategy
[13:36] Speaker 1: works pretty well for a while, and Magnus is able
[13:40] Speaker 1: to avoid any paint splatter. But soon the cat gets
[13:46] Speaker 1: a sort of grasp of his defensive strategy. It shoots
[13:52] Speaker 1: a splatter of paint towards Magnus, which is blocked by
[13:56] Speaker 1: a little rock wall. Then it immediately twists to the right,
[14:02] Speaker 1: spinning in a circle and whipping its tail around. Another
[14:06] Speaker 1: paint splatter flies right at Magnus around the little rock wall,
[14:12] Speaker 1: and this time it connects with his side. All of
[14:17] Speaker 1: the rocks immediately drop from the air, crumbling to the ground. Ah,
[14:24] Speaker 1: Magnus says, realizing that his grasp of rock energy is
[14:30] Speaker 1: gone as well. Now, only this time, he doesn't hesitate.
[14:35] Speaker 1: He reaches into the ground with his mind, summoning every
[14:40] Speaker 1: living thing he can find. The grass grows taller, the
[14:46] Speaker 1: little shrubs expand, and all of them start to transform intovines,
[14:52] Speaker 1: wrapping themselves around the splatter cat. In response, the the
[15:00] Speaker 1: splatder cat draws its claws, large knife like claws, and
[15:06] Speaker 1: begins slicing through the vines with ease, breaking apart trees
[15:12] Speaker 1: and making his way back towards Magnus. Magnus reaches out
[15:17] Speaker 1: with vines, but the cat jumps up in the air,
[15:21] Speaker 1: performs a perfect front flip and ends with a whip
[15:25] Speaker 1: of its tail and a splatter of paint straight into
[15:30] Speaker 1: Magnus's face.
[15:32] Speaker 5: Ow.
[15:33] Speaker 1: He yells as he stumbles around blind For a moment,
[15:38] Speaker 1: he summons a little tornado of air, but the splatter
[15:42] Speaker 1: cat hits him again. Blind and cut off for many
[15:47] Speaker 1: of his powers, Magnus stumbles backwards as the splattered cat
[15:53] Speaker 1: continues to hit him with all sorts of paint. Each
[15:58] Speaker 1: splatter slows Magnus down a little bit more. Soon it
[16:04] Speaker 1: becomes a sort of thick layer of goo. The cat's
[16:09] Speaker 1: eyes laid up, and slowly Magnus stops moving. The paint
[16:17] Speaker 1: solidifies around him, trapping him in place. Oh well, then
[16:25] Speaker 1: the referee says, it seems that Magnus has become trapped.
[16:32] Speaker 1: If he can't get out of this shortly, I'll be
[16:35] Speaker 1: forced to call an end to the match. Come on, buddy,
[16:40] Speaker 1: there's gotta be something else you say. And as you
[16:45] Speaker 1: say it, the world outside your little protective circle starts
[16:52] Speaker 1: to get a lot colder. The cat's breath becomes visible,
[17:00] Speaker 1: The little body of water freezes in place, and the
[17:05] Speaker 1: splattered cat starts to look very, very uncomfortable. It attempts
[17:12] Speaker 1: to walk forward towards Magnus, but it's visibly shivering. Magnus
[17:19] Speaker 1: must be drawing all of the heat out of the air.
[17:24] Speaker 1: Then Magnus, covered in a gigantic glare of completely frozen paint,
[17:33] Speaker 1: starts to glow slightly. Cracks form, and the paint followed
[17:39] Speaker 1: by a giant burst of sunlight energy. The paint surrounding
[17:45] Speaker 1: Magness almost instantly evaporates. The light is so bright that
[17:52] Speaker 1: the splattered cat has to close its eyes and turn away,
[17:57] Speaker 1: and in that instant unleashes a powerful blast of pure
[18:04] Speaker 1: sunlight energy. The blast instantly shoots across the battlefield straight
[18:11] Speaker 1: into the cat, sending the thing flying across the arena
[18:16] Speaker 1: into the back wall. Magnus continues to glow, looking as
[18:23] Speaker 1: though he's well the sun itself, and the stream of
[18:28] Speaker 1: energy continues to fly towards the cat, pressing it up
[18:33] Speaker 1: against the back wall, leaving it unable to move. He
[18:38] Speaker 1: continues making his way forward as the cat explodes into
[18:45] Speaker 1: a bright blue energy and reforms into Mave's cardcore.
[18:53] Speaker 4: Well.
[18:53] Speaker 1: Then Ladies and and gentlemen, I believe we have a winner.
[19:02] Speaker 1: Magnus stops glowing, allowing you to finally fully open your
[19:07] Speaker 1: eyes again. The force fields disappear around you and Mave,
[19:14] Speaker 1: and you both step forward to the center line. Ah, well,
[19:20] Speaker 1: good battle, Maeve says, I thought I had you there. Huh, honestly,
[19:27] Speaker 1: I thought you had us there too, You respond, I
[19:31] Speaker 1: guess your whole paint power negation thing didn't take out
[19:36] Speaker 1: Magnus's core ability though, Yeah, I guess not. I mean
[19:42] Speaker 1: it only works when you're using a particular power, and
[19:46] Speaker 1: I think by the time he used that one, he
[19:49] Speaker 1: was already covered in paint. Now, well live and learn.
[19:55] Speaker 1: Mave turns away and heads directly into the elevator. Well there, kid,
[20:02] Speaker 1: the referee says, it looks like you'll be going on
[20:07] Speaker 1: to the real deity level tournament. I certainly suggest you
[20:12] Speaker 1: get a little rest. You're only gonna be fighting other
[20:17] Speaker 1: people who are undefeated in this round from here on out.
[20:22] Speaker 1: It won't be as easy. You nod in understanding, as
[20:27] Speaker 1: Magnus shrinks back down to his normal dragonling size. Together,
[20:34] Speaker 1: you head back to the elevator, press the button, and
[20:39] Speaker 1: move down towards the main floor. The elevator dings as
[20:44] Speaker 1: you step out, walk down the hall and out the
[20:48] Speaker 1: doors of the large arena.
[20:52] Speaker 4: Again.
[20:53] Speaker 1: You summon your magic wing card and float up into
[20:57] Speaker 1: the air and Magnus fly high above the large parking lot,
[21:04] Speaker 1: surrounded by all sorts of battle arenas until you arrive
[21:10] Speaker 1: back at the hotel. You land in front of the doors,
[21:15] Speaker 1: call your wing card back into your core and walk inside.
[21:22] Speaker 1: You move towards the elevators again, go up to your
[21:27] Speaker 1: floor and step out into the hallway. You walk to
[21:33] Speaker 1: your room, open it up with the key card, and
[21:38] Speaker 1: head inside. Once again. You find a little room service
[21:44] Speaker 1: card with an entire feast on it, a board on
[21:50] Speaker 1: top full of all sorts of different foods, burghers, tacos, pizza,
[21:57] Speaker 1: anything you could imagine, and a little tray on the
[22:02] Speaker 1: bottom full of all sorts of different desserts ice creams, pies, cakes, treats.
[22:10] Speaker 4: Everything.
[22:13] Speaker 1: You look at, Magnus before looking back at the tray
[22:16] Speaker 1: of food and beginning to.
[22:19] Speaker 4: Eat your fill.
[22:22] Speaker 1: You eventually find a card that says, congratulations on making
[22:27] Speaker 1: it to the Deity level tournament. We thought you could
[22:31] Speaker 1: use a little more energy. Well, isn't that nice? You
[22:37] Speaker 1: say to Magnus, as you continue to eat a little
[22:41] Speaker 1: bit of everything you want. Before long your stomach's more
[22:47] Speaker 1: full than it reasonably should be, and Magnus looks, uh, well,
[22:53] Speaker 1: he looks a lot rounder than he used to. You
[22:57] Speaker 1: both laid down on the bed, lay back on the pillows,
[23:03] Speaker 1: and close your eyes. With each breath, your mind begins
[23:11] Speaker 1: to wander away. With each breath, your muscles start to
[23:17] Speaker 1: relax a little bit more, letting go of any tension
[23:23] Speaker 1: and melting into the bed. You let go of the
[23:28] Speaker 1: tension and your shoulders, your arms, your legs, your neck,
[23:38] Speaker 1: and even your face, and slowly your mind begins to
[23:44] Speaker 1: wander off to thoughts of new dreams, new adventures, and
[23:52] Speaker 1: new deity level opponents. To come good night everyone.
