[0:01] Speaker 1: And that's what you really missed with Jenna.
[0:04] Speaker 2: And Kevin an iHeartRadio podcast.
[0:09] Speaker 1: Welcome to and that's where you really miss podcast. Okay.
[0:15] Speaker 1: I just had to think about what the name of
[0:16] Speaker 1: this podcast was called when I said that, because I'm
[0:20] Speaker 1: working at half speed today.
[0:22] Speaker 2: This is going really well, Jenna, it really is.
[0:24] Speaker 1: I'm boring you already. Kevin is yawning at me. Don't
[0:29] Speaker 1: think I won't.
[0:30] Speaker 2: It wasn't about you. I was a rehearsal.
[0:32] Speaker 1: All always about me. Okay, it's always about me.
[0:37] Speaker 2: Also, nobody can see us, so that was supposed to
[0:39] Speaker 2: be hidden.
[0:41] Speaker 1: You better believe I.
[0:44] Speaker 2: Damn it, Jenna, Am I boring you?
[0:47] Speaker 1: Okay? This is season six, episode eight. This is a wedding,
[0:51] Speaker 1: A wedding, A wedding. This aired on February twenty, ath
[0:56] Speaker 1: twenty fifteen, which is around and the final day of
[1:02] Speaker 1: our filming on the show complete. Okay, Okay, we're at
[1:10] Speaker 1: the wedding. I like to call it the wedding because
[1:15] Speaker 1: the wedding. Yeah, it was the wedding.
[1:18] Speaker 2: It's the wedding of all weddings, of the every wedding.
[1:21] Speaker 1: It was there.
[1:22] Speaker 2: Yes. So in the news this week, the number one
[1:26] Speaker 2: song is Still and will be Uptown Funk and the
[1:30] Speaker 2: number fifty.
[1:33] Speaker 1: You were right? Okay, that no news there Glee news.
[1:38] Speaker 1: This week, February seventeenth, Glee The Music a Wedding the
[1:43] Speaker 1: EP was released. It featured four tracks from season sixth
[1:49] Speaker 1: episode eight and was released for digital DOLM only.
[1:52] Speaker 2: And you were right we alluded to a few minutes ago.
[1:54] Speaker 2: On February twenty first, the day after this episode aired,
[1:58] Speaker 2: the cast and crew wrapped production on the show's final episode,
[2:02] Speaker 2: six thirteen Dreams Come True, celebrating with a carnival at Paramount.
[2:09] Speaker 1: I mean there was a full band, there were games,
[2:13] Speaker 1: there were activities.
[2:16] Speaker 2: I feel like we should save the retelling of those
[2:19] Speaker 2: festivities for that recap.
[2:21] Speaker 1: Okay, it was really fun, to be honest.
[2:25] Speaker 2: No, no, no, don't say anymore, Jenna.
[2:27] Speaker 1: Oh I'm sorry. It was terrible. It was terrible.
[2:30] Speaker 2: No, just have no opinion, okay, reined in.
[2:38] Speaker 1: Actually not talking, just dis directed by Brad Beaker and.
[2:44] Speaker 2: Written by Ross Maxwell. And then I had these special guests.
[2:50] Speaker 2: Of all special guests, I mean, it has Gina Gershaan,
[2:53] Speaker 2: Jennifer Coolidge, kin Jong, and Gloria Estefan. Like, are you
[2:56] Speaker 2: kidding me.
[2:58] Speaker 1: When we came back to do this episode, I was like,
[3:01] Speaker 1: this is like the ultimate ultimate episode of my dreams.
[3:07] Speaker 1: All right, let's let's talk about the songs and we'll
[3:10] Speaker 1: get into the whole episode. So this has at last,
[3:13] Speaker 1: performed by Mercedes and Artie, and I'm just like, this
[3:19] Speaker 1: is the best number ever.
[3:21] Speaker 2: Oh my god, I don't know where you're going with that.
[3:23] Speaker 1: Oh yeah, best number ever?
[3:25] Speaker 2: Uh heyya. Performed by Artie and Jane and Madison.
[3:32] Speaker 1: I'm so excited. Performed by mothers Mother and the Trouble
[3:38] Speaker 1: Tones of.
[3:39] Speaker 2: Course, honestly, dream m h it's like big Trouble Tones. Yes,
[3:45] Speaker 2: that's right, and Our Day will Come performed by Kurt, Blaine,
[3:49] Speaker 2: Brittany and Santana mm okay uh.
[3:56] Speaker 1: This episode includes the return of Sugar Mata after her
[3:59] Speaker 1: last appearance in season four episode twenty two, All or
[4:04] Speaker 1: Nothing and her unexplained departure. It's not right, unexplained return, It's.
[4:10] Speaker 2: Not right, no, not all. What a thrill to have
[4:13] Speaker 2: her back, I remember that very clearly.
[4:16] Speaker 1: Yes, yes, definitely.
[4:18] Speaker 2: The pictures of Blaine and Kurt on Britney's suits are
[4:21] Speaker 2: from the season five photo shoot.
[4:23] Speaker 1: Of course, the press release for this episode listed Alex
[4:28] Speaker 1: Nouell starring as Unique, though with no evidence of Alex
[4:32] Speaker 1: be on set and Unique not appearing in the episode,
[4:35] Speaker 1: this was thought to be a mistake. However, scription from
[4:38] Speaker 1: the episode revealed that Unique was actually supposed to be
[4:41] Speaker 1: at the wedding, but subsequently do cut due to Alex
[4:44] Speaker 1: being unable to film. So Alex was booked and busy.
[4:48] Speaker 2: Good for Alex. Santana and Brittany try on wedding dresses
[4:51] Speaker 2: and the same bridle shop that Emma didn't mashup in
[4:55] Speaker 2: the first season. Yes, which I appreciate because it's a
[4:58] Speaker 2: small town. They would all be going to the same place.
[5:01] Speaker 2: But it feels like it would be a very Glee
[5:04] Speaker 2: thing for it to be a different one. Yeah, for sure.
[5:08] Speaker 1: This is the second time Mercedi sings at a wedding.
[5:13] Speaker 2: Okay, so this is my favorite fun fact.
[5:16] Speaker 1: Okay.
[5:17] Speaker 2: This episode aired four months before the US Supreme Court's
[5:22] Speaker 2: landmark ruling on same sex marriage, so it gets I
[5:25] Speaker 2: was having this conversation with somebody in London yesterday when
[5:28] Speaker 2: it was legalized. This confirms it. On June twenty sixth,
[5:33] Speaker 2: twenty fifteen, the Court issued its five four decision in
[5:37] Speaker 2: Obergerfeld versus Hodges making marriage equality the law of the
[5:40] Speaker 2: land in all fifty states.
[5:43] Speaker 1: Wow.
[5:44] Speaker 2: Wow, it is crazy though that this was a decade ago. Wow,
[5:51] Speaker 2: only a decade ago, And how insane. One of my
[5:54] Speaker 2: favorite things about this episode, and not because I love
[5:57] Speaker 2: it the opposite in fact that you had to and
[6:01] Speaker 2: you know, they reference it in the show about you
[6:04] Speaker 2: had to cross state lines to get married, Like it
[6:06] Speaker 2: makes a difference, Like it's so insane, and to me
[6:13] Speaker 2: it ages and dates the show in a way that
[6:16] Speaker 2: nothing else does. Obviously the show is dated in some
[6:20] Speaker 2: other ways, but like it has to me, it feels like,
[6:25] Speaker 2: you know, same sex marriage has been legalized for so
[6:27] Speaker 2: much longer, in a decade, inconceivable in my head. But
[6:32] Speaker 2: that's all that that is. That is yeah, crazy, It's
[6:38] Speaker 2: really crazy, and I I like, regardless of how people feel,
[6:44] Speaker 2: and we will talk about this, about this episode and
[6:47] Speaker 2: about you know, the two couples getting married at the
[6:50] Speaker 2: same time. I think that was important, the thing about
[6:55] Speaker 2: having two gay weddings on national TV and saying how
[6:58] Speaker 2: they had to drive out of their home state, born
[7:01] Speaker 2: and raised to go to a neighboring state to have
[7:04] Speaker 2: a wedding.
[7:05] Speaker 1: Right is insanity? Is insanity just to get married like that? Ridiculous?
[7:22] Speaker 2: So the official episode summary Jenna, the members of the
[7:26] Speaker 2: New Directions are busy at work, planning, planning, and planning,
[7:30] Speaker 2: while Sue encourages everyone to follow their hearts. I don't.
[7:34] Speaker 2: I don't know about that.
[7:36] Speaker 1: People are getting senior atis in all departments, Yeah, in
[7:41] Speaker 1: all departments, including us. All right, this is a wedding,
[7:45] Speaker 1: and everything in this episode is surrounded by the wedding.
[7:54] Speaker 1: It is about the wedding, it's for the wedding, it's
[7:57] Speaker 1: it's all all about it.
[7:59] Speaker 2: But it's also so mostly just about Coolidge. Well, this
[8:04] Speaker 2: episode really is just a vehicle for Jennifer Coolidge to
[8:09] Speaker 2: grace us with their comedic prowess.
[8:13] Speaker 1: And Ken's toast.
[8:17] Speaker 2: So weird and so good.
[8:21] Speaker 1: The humor, I don't even know where to start or
[8:24] Speaker 1: to be with the humor of what Ken normally does.
[8:31] Speaker 1: So it's it's like a next level. It's it's elevated
[8:37] Speaker 1: beyond elevation, and Gen's is like elevated just below elevation,
[8:46] Speaker 1: and Glee's is just below their tears, So they stick
[8:51] Speaker 1: out in the best way because of who they are
[8:56] Speaker 1: and what they've brought to stage, screen and us in
[9:02] Speaker 1: life prior to Lee.
[9:04] Speaker 2: Yes, I don't know why.
[9:07] Speaker 1: I just felt like I needed to break that down.
[9:10] Speaker 2: Say it, Jenna.
[9:11] Speaker 1: But Jennifer Coolidge, well, let's talk about the opening of
[9:14] Speaker 1: this before we get into the storylines. Because the opening
[9:16] Speaker 1: of this when you guys get into this ranch and
[9:18] Speaker 1: you're like, why are we in a barn? And Jennifer
[9:22] Speaker 1: Coolidge talking about when Brittany was born?
[9:27] Speaker 2: Well, I can I back it up just even a
[9:29] Speaker 2: little bit more than that, sure, because I would like,
[9:33] Speaker 2: I'm sure nobody cares about this, but I'm a co host,
[9:38] Speaker 2: so I'm gonna say what I want.
[9:39] Speaker 1: Nobody cares. Nobody cares.
[9:46] Speaker 2: The background like we're in a barn in a field,
[9:50] Speaker 2: and the background looks fake. It's like, you know, like
[9:53] Speaker 2: a hazy house. All of that was there. We were
[9:56] Speaker 2: shooting thirty forty five minutes away from Paramount up in
[10:00] Speaker 2: Santa Clarita, which is my second home. Basically that's where
[10:05] Speaker 2: I grew up in California, and so I was very
[10:08] Speaker 2: excited to shoot up there. And we were shooting on
[10:10] Speaker 2: a proper like film ranch. That's what it's called.
[10:13] Speaker 1: It's the Disney. It's a Walt Disney Company ranch. Yeah,
[10:21] Speaker 1: it's called the Golden Oak Ranch.
[10:24] Speaker 2: And it was incredible and so cool to get to
[10:26] Speaker 2: film up there because it was so many acres of
[10:30] Speaker 2: like different settings. They had everything you can think of.
[10:33] Speaker 2: If you have seen the Lady Gaga nine one one
[10:36] Speaker 2: video that was also up there, that's in another sort
[10:39] Speaker 2: of like set thing that's built. So this was just
[10:42] Speaker 2: part of that ranch, and we're using the barn and
[10:46] Speaker 2: the house and so we were outside, you know, for days.
[10:50] Speaker 2: We were up there for like three.
[10:51] Speaker 1: Or four days when they released the Doves.
[10:54] Speaker 2: Oh God, the Doves, and it was freezing at night
[10:57] Speaker 2: and we'd be surrounding a heater. It also when I
[11:01] Speaker 2: somehow tweaked my ankle, you know, not even dancing walking,
[11:09] Speaker 2: and that's when Jennifer Coolidge was walking with me to
[11:12] Speaker 2: the porta potties and was like, well, you should probably
[11:17] Speaker 2: have you thought about suing Fox And I'm like yeah,
[11:21] Speaker 2: and she was like, well, your ankle's injured and also
[11:24] Speaker 2: you probably have back problems from sitting in that wheelchair
[11:28] Speaker 2: for six seasons. And I go, well, I actually do
[11:31] Speaker 2: have a back issue. I don't know what causes she's like, well,
[11:34] Speaker 2: I can be your lawyer. I was like, you could
[11:38] Speaker 2: do everything. She's like, yeah, I'll do it. I'll be
[11:40] Speaker 2: your lawyer a lawyer and something before Yes, she and
[11:45] Speaker 2: I were just like walking to the toilets and she
[11:47] Speaker 2: was like fully trying to convince me to sue Fox.
[11:51] Speaker 2: It's like, well, they, you know, paid me for the
[11:53] Speaker 2: past six years. I don't really know if that's the
[11:57] Speaker 2: you know it's true, because let me tell you, she
[12:03] Speaker 2: is one of my top five like comedic idols. Yeah, like.
[12:10] Speaker 1: This was really a win for me that she was
[12:13] Speaker 1: on this show over anybody else. Like, yes, we had Ken,
[12:16] Speaker 1: we had Gloria Stuck, like we had Gina Gershan, we
[12:21] Speaker 1: had everybody in this episode, but we really we had
[12:26] Speaker 1: Jennifer Coolidge. So to go back to what you were saying, well,
[12:29] Speaker 1: it also was raining, and she was her heels were
[12:33] Speaker 1: all of our heels were actually just sinking into the
[12:36] Speaker 1: dirt in the rand. But she like then decided just
[12:39] Speaker 1: to make a thing out of it, and like they're
[12:42] Speaker 1: shooting bureaul of us at the wedding and cocktail hour
[12:45] Speaker 1: before we go into the venue, and her heels she's like,
[12:48] Speaker 1: oh my heels are stuck and.
[12:51] Speaker 2: She's I.
[12:55] Speaker 1: It's so good. It's so good when you're watching genius
[12:59] Speaker 1: at work.
[13:00] Speaker 2: So this opening scene, oh my god. We shot it
[13:05] Speaker 2: first thing in the morning. It was so early, and
[13:08] Speaker 2: there were just us there that were in that scene, okay,
[13:10] Speaker 2: And it was one of those experiences where I really
[13:14] Speaker 2: was trying really hard to check myself to just be like,
[13:18] Speaker 2: you're in a scene with Gloria and Jennifer, right, like
[13:24] Speaker 2: this is crazy, yeah, yeah, yeah sure. And I had
[13:29] Speaker 2: dialogue in it, and so I was also very worried
[13:32] Speaker 2: about stepping on either of their lines and then also
[13:35] Speaker 2: breaking because obviously Coolidge was like improving a bit. She
[13:42] Speaker 2: was doing some bits and some of and it was
[13:45] Speaker 2: just also the magic of her was I couldn't tell
[13:49] Speaker 2: what was improv and what wasn't, Like I had to
[13:52] Speaker 2: go check, and a lot of it wasn't improv. She's
[13:55] Speaker 2: just so good that she makes it feel like she's
[13:57] Speaker 2: coming up with it on the spot, but I mean
[13:59] Speaker 2: she did, and her physical comedy is so good.
[14:05] Speaker 1: When she's talking about Brittany being born in the barn,
[14:10] Speaker 1: she's like an it was your little head, and it's
[14:14] Speaker 1: just it's enjoy it's so enjoyable because it also it
[14:20] Speaker 1: makes so much sense as an extension from Brittany, like, yes,
[14:25] Speaker 1: this makes so much sense.
[14:28] Speaker 2: And it felt like that shooting it, it felt like,
[14:31] Speaker 2: oh this is this makes sense. Also, I would I
[14:35] Speaker 2: want to take everybody there right now. So if you
[14:38] Speaker 2: can think about what it feels like early in the morning,
[14:41] Speaker 2: you know, birds are chirping, it's a little cool outside,
[14:45] Speaker 2: and you're in an actual barn covered in hay, and
[14:50] Speaker 2: you're in the mountains and it is silent, and there
[14:53] Speaker 2: is Jennifer Coolidge and acting a birth for feet in
[15:00] Speaker 2: front of you, and the dead silence of the mountains
[15:08] Speaker 2: at like seven am.
[15:09] Speaker 1: Oh wow, it.
[15:10] Speaker 2: Was such a ser like I wanted to laugh, We
[15:15] Speaker 2: all wanted to laugh, but also because it was so quiet,
[15:18] Speaker 2: it felt so inappropriate to laugh. And there she is
[15:21] Speaker 2: giving you her all like it deserves to be laughed at.
[15:26] Speaker 1: Yes it does.
[15:28] Speaker 2: I don't know how she does it, but like to
[15:29] Speaker 2: do that in silence, and they keep going and to
[15:32] Speaker 2: keep pushing it. It was cinema.
[15:35] Speaker 1: Cinema, I true. I mean, what a gift, What a gift,
[15:39] Speaker 1: What a way to open this episode? What a way? Yeah,
[15:43] Speaker 1: and what a joy to be able to be there
[15:45] Speaker 1: for that, I'm I'm actually very envious at that moment.
[15:49] Speaker 2: I was very, very very grateful.
[15:52] Speaker 1: So so Brittany and Santana are getting married, and they're
[15:56] Speaker 1: getting married in the barn, and already is the wedding planner.
[15:58] Speaker 1: That's why you're there with them. And for no reason,
[16:01] Speaker 1: all the parents are involved. We have Santana's mom and
[16:05] Speaker 1: we have Brittany's mom, and basically we're everybody's involved, right,
[16:15] Speaker 1: So the glee club, the girls are helping with the
[16:18] Speaker 1: dress situation.
[16:20] Speaker 2: You're also helping put the barn together. There's a whole
[16:22] Speaker 2: thing where like very quickly, you know, Tina's complaining about
[16:27] Speaker 2: helping dress or she is, Hey, bails. But everybody's there,
[16:30] Speaker 2: Sugar's there, the new kids are there. Also, how did
[16:32] Speaker 2: the new kids get an invite to this?
[16:34] Speaker 1: Well, they were invited to Will Schuster's house.
[16:37] Speaker 2: So yeah, they just wanted to use them for manual labor.
[16:41] Speaker 2: Clearly pre manual labor.
[16:43] Speaker 1: I remember filming that barn thing. It was actually the
[16:47] Speaker 1: dead of night, so we were on the tail opposite
[16:50] Speaker 1: of you guys shooting them early morning hours. We were
[16:53] Speaker 1: like it was like eight thirty at night and it
[16:56] Speaker 1: was frigid. It was so cold, and it was like
[17:00] Speaker 1: on the fly we were filming that, like, I mean,
[17:03] Speaker 1: I think maybe we got three takes out of that
[17:05] Speaker 1: one because we were.
[17:06] Speaker 2: I remember everybody panicking, Yeah, because it took longer to
[17:10] Speaker 2: start up the set everything that morning.
[17:13] Speaker 1: Yeah.
[17:13] Speaker 2: I think we did the opening shot the next day,
[17:16] Speaker 2: so everything was like that was quick. So everything was
[17:19] Speaker 2: set up like that first move in day of setting
[17:21] Speaker 2: up all the equipment took obviously more times than they thought.
[17:24] Speaker 2: So we were and there was only I remember all
[17:27] Speaker 2: of us being crowded around like one heater. There was
[17:31] Speaker 2: like a trailer for all of us to hang out in,
[17:35] Speaker 2: but it was like sort of far.
[17:38] Speaker 1: Dad.
[17:38] Speaker 2: Do you remember the pictures of all we took when
[17:40] Speaker 2: we got in the same coats, Oh, you're right right.
[17:42] Speaker 1: It was like it's like one of those trailers that
[17:44] Speaker 1: use when you're on location and you have lunch in
[17:49] Speaker 1: the trailers. Yes, And so they set it up because
[17:53] Speaker 1: there's so many cast members that we had a lunch
[17:55] Speaker 1: trailer for our cast.
[17:57] Speaker 2: Yeah, but we didn't want to go there because, like
[17:59] Speaker 2: Jenna said, it was muddy and it would and it
[18:01] Speaker 2: was cold, so it would take like too long to
[18:04] Speaker 2: go and come back.
[18:06] Speaker 1: They put us in rain boots for contacts, like because
[18:12] Speaker 1: it was so muddy that like we were in rain
[18:15] Speaker 1: boots in between takes instead of like slippers for our
[18:17] Speaker 1: for our like heels, took off our heels. You know,
[18:20] Speaker 1: everybody's helping, Yes, yes, everybody's helping. And the new direction
[18:25] Speaker 1: new new new directions are there. Everybody's kind of like
[18:28] Speaker 1: being used as ponds, and as is Tina.
[18:31] Speaker 2: And there's a couple of big things happening here. Brittany
[18:34] Speaker 2: is spiraling. She's feeling the obvious and understandable tensions and
[18:39] Speaker 2: anxiety about getting married. Everything needs to be perfect. She's
[18:44] Speaker 2: becoming like increasingly superstitious. And then Santana is fine, but
[18:51] Speaker 2: Santana has an issue of making sure that Sue is
[18:56] Speaker 2: not invited, and so we have like these two next
[18:59] Speaker 2: sections is basically of the wedding planning phase, which seems
[19:02] Speaker 2: like it happens all within twenty four hours. I mean,
[19:05] Speaker 2: we're just going to suspend time here and pretend none
[19:10] Speaker 2: of it. It's not a flat line, you know, right,
[19:13] Speaker 2: Like it's it's existing and whatever structure it exists, it's
[19:18] Speaker 2: an existential question and we're not smart enough to figure
[19:21] Speaker 2: that out.
[19:21] Speaker 1: No, it's fine.
[19:22] Speaker 2: So there's the seating arrangement thing happening, and that's where
[19:27] Speaker 2: Santana sees that Sue has a chair and she's like,
[19:31] Speaker 2: that's not happening and flips out about it, and they're
[19:34] Speaker 2: all like, whoa, Britney's I understand Britney's side of it,
[19:38] Speaker 2: of like, the reason why we know each other is
[19:41] Speaker 2: because we both got put on the cheerios.
[19:44] Speaker 1: It's true.
[19:44] Speaker 2: Sanna says, if she shows up, I'm not showing up.
[19:47] Speaker 1: She even goes as far to call her a biach.
[19:51] Speaker 2: Yeah. I was like, whoa, yeah, And she goes to
[19:57] Speaker 2: Sue to personally tell her she is not allowed and
[20:01] Speaker 2: here's why, and Sue sits there and takes it and
[20:04] Speaker 2: looks sad.
[20:06] Speaker 1: You know, I have to say, it's been weird. Sue's
[20:10] Speaker 1: been weird, but she has been really supportive of coach
[20:13] Speaker 1: Beast mm hmmm. She weirdly wants Blaine and Kurt back together,
[20:21] Speaker 1: and she got that, she did. She still has her
[20:25] Speaker 1: you know, she wants to take down the glee club
[20:27] Speaker 1: obviously and her little things about it, but like, you know,
[20:33] Speaker 1: that hasn't her motives haven't changed there, but there's a
[20:38] Speaker 1: there's a heart coming out of Sue that we haven't
[20:41] Speaker 1: seen before.
[20:43] Speaker 2: It feels like as the kids are maturing, Like even
[20:46] Speaker 2: the way Santana is confrontational with Sue feels more adult
[20:52] Speaker 2: her high school days. That they're all growing together even
[20:57] Speaker 2: though Sue's older.
[20:58] Speaker 1: Yes, then the kids everything, Yes, like she's yea.
[21:05] Speaker 2: And what that ends up being like one of the
[21:07] Speaker 2: best moments of the episode because Sue does show up
[21:14] Speaker 2: to the wedding.
[21:16] Speaker 1: But she's just gonna change her too.
[21:19] Speaker 2: But she shows up with Bila, and it's really sweet
[21:26] Speaker 2: and hilarious because we get like a really incredible classical
[21:31] Speaker 2: glee like whip flashback. I feel like we haven't been
[21:34] Speaker 2: getting enough of lately.
[21:36] Speaker 1: No, we haven't gotten any.
[21:39] Speaker 2: And she calls her miss Abila. I she used reversed
[21:49] Speaker 2: psychology on her, that's all. No, I mean it. It's
[21:55] Speaker 2: in the episode.
[21:57] Speaker 1: Oh I miss that.
[21:59] Speaker 2: I'm not smart enough to come up that I was like,
[22:01] Speaker 2: And it's this really beautiful moment. And Abuela, you know,
[22:04] Speaker 2: still hasn't come around necessarily to the concept of gay marriage,
[22:09] Speaker 2: but she loves her granddaughter and wants to be there
[22:14] Speaker 2: and not missus State, you know, and all of that
[22:17] Speaker 2: tied into the you know, the debate, the Supreme Court case,
[22:22] Speaker 2: all that. At the time, I thought that was important
[22:24] Speaker 2: that that was represented in this episode.
[22:27] Speaker 1: Yes, And I like the way that Santana says, like
[22:32] Speaker 1: She's like, you know, a Boila is like, I don't
[22:34] Speaker 1: you know, agree with some of the things you believe
[22:37] Speaker 1: in or whatever in Santana like right back at her,
[22:40] Speaker 1: is like, well, I don't believe in some of the
[22:42] Speaker 1: things you believe in. I'm like, yes, thank you.
[22:47] Speaker 2: I think at the time, you know, the show was teaching,
[22:51] Speaker 2: as we've learned from talking to fans and different people
[22:55] Speaker 2: that were on the show. People watched the show with
[22:57] Speaker 2: their families, right, all different demographics, backgrounds, right, And it
[23:03] Speaker 2: was a way for people to see into different people's
[23:06] Speaker 2: lives something that they're not normally exposed to, and show
[23:10] Speaker 2: them how they can be accepting of these things even
[23:13] Speaker 2: if they don't necessarily understand them or don't agree with it.
[23:18] Speaker 2: And I thought it was a really nice way without
[23:21] Speaker 2: really hitting you over the head, respecting one another's opinions
[23:28] Speaker 2: in that way.
[23:29] Speaker 1: Sure.
[23:30] Speaker 2: Sure, and then you know what, four months later, it's legalized,
[23:35] Speaker 2: I mean finger on the Pulse.
[23:37] Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
[23:39] Speaker 2: The show has been in a position like from day
[23:41] Speaker 2: one to we were due, like you were, like the groundbreaking.
[23:45] Speaker 2: And I get why Ryan wanted to have two weddings
[23:49] Speaker 2: or just have more gay weddings, right, because the show
[23:53] Speaker 2: from the first episode, when you have characters like Kurt
[23:57] Speaker 2: and then characters you know that come later Santana and
[24:01] Speaker 2: Brittany and Blaine. Right to show America on a network
[24:06] Speaker 2: television show. Yeah, and some of that was played by
[24:10] Speaker 2: It was an eighteen year old playing it like a
[24:12] Speaker 2: real team, playing a gay team that just never happened,
[24:18] Speaker 2: that did not happen at all, right, And to be
[24:22] Speaker 2: able to give that happy ending for the series for
[24:26] Speaker 2: that character, yes, was I think really important. And I
[24:30] Speaker 2: understand why Ryan did it.
[24:31] Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean I think there was an over arching
[24:36] Speaker 1: question of like why didn't they get their own wedding
[24:39] Speaker 1: or why didn't they we do two weddings. It kind
[24:42] Speaker 1: of like washed over one, and you know I did
[24:46] Speaker 1: diluted them both, you know, in some ways. But like
[24:49] Speaker 1: I actually think it was really sweet the way Brittany
[24:54] Speaker 1: proposed it, and it was also like to your point,
[25:01] Speaker 1: let's just celebrate it all. Let's put it all out there.
[25:05] Speaker 1: They deserve to be celebrated, they deserve the happy ending.
[25:08] Speaker 1: And as Ryan has mentioned before, which I always think about,
[25:11] Speaker 1: is like when he was alluding to not alerding, he
[25:15] Speaker 1: was referring to Kurt and Bert's relationship about how to
[25:19] Speaker 1: see a positive relationship with a young man who's coming
[25:26] Speaker 1: out right and kind of on that journey navigating that time, Like,
[25:30] Speaker 1: I think we deserve to also see this.
[25:36] Speaker 2: Yeah, and I agree, I agree with all of it.
[25:41] Speaker 2: I think they each should have had their own moments,
[25:43] Speaker 2: Yeah for sure.
[25:44] Speaker 1: Yeah.
[25:46] Speaker 2: I mean I agree with seeing both of them get married.
[25:48] Speaker 2: It's so we had thirteen episodes, yeah, yeah, so.
[25:52] Speaker 1: If there's twenty two, maybe we would have gotten it.
[25:54] Speaker 2: Ye. I was like a classic white gay showing up
[25:57] Speaker 2: to steal this, the steal the thunder of.
[25:59] Speaker 1: The lesbian also budget right, but also.
[26:04] Speaker 2: Everyone just like rolled with it, so we didn't even
[26:06] Speaker 2: get to it. What happens in a scene here is
[26:09] Speaker 2: that Sue calls Curt and Blaine over there's a Britanna emergency,
[26:18] Speaker 2: and obviously, you know there's some hilarity equips about being
[26:20] Speaker 2: stuck and stuck in an elevator again and Brittany proposes
[26:24] Speaker 2: that they get married with them, and it does seem
[26:27] Speaker 2: a little surprising and it seems a little out of character,
[26:31] Speaker 2: I would say, kind and Santana like pops out and
[26:36] Speaker 2: says that she agrees with the two and it obviously
[26:41] Speaker 2: had to come from them. It's their day, so like
[26:44] Speaker 2: they're co saying it. I just I was like, yeah,
[26:48] Speaker 2: it was surprising that it was happening, but the moment
[26:51] Speaker 2: itself was really sweet.
[26:52] Speaker 1: It was and like just like the Kurt Blaine of
[26:55] Speaker 1: it all, like the way that you see Chris kind
[27:02] Speaker 1: of like approach this, and it's like, you don't know
[27:06] Speaker 1: if Kurt's going to be like completely absolutely, like absolutely not.
[27:11] Speaker 1: You don't know if he's excited. You don't know if
[27:13] Speaker 1: he wants to, but he doesn't. Like it was so
[27:15] Speaker 1: nuanced that I was like, what's gonna happen? And obviously yeah,
[27:20] Speaker 1: but like it was really nice the way they played it,
[27:23] Speaker 1: and it was really sweet and you could see what
[27:27] Speaker 1: they were thinking, like without really you know, having them
[27:32] Speaker 1: having to say anything. It's like, yeah, we deserve this,
[27:35] Speaker 1: We've gotten this far, We've been through so much, Like
[27:39] Speaker 1: why not.
[27:41] Speaker 2: Well, and this is all like, the reason why Blaine
[27:44] Speaker 2: comes around to it first, or at least verbalizes it first,
[27:48] Speaker 2: is because that really sweet conversation with Burton Carroll about
[27:52] Speaker 2: how important it is to like not waste any time
[27:56] Speaker 2: with the person that you love and find them and
[27:59] Speaker 2: to grab it. And so you already have his blessing
[28:03] Speaker 2: and he's going to be officiating the wedding, and so
[28:08] Speaker 2: I think Bert has always been sort of a north
[28:10] Speaker 2: star in that way for everyone on the show, and
[28:14] Speaker 2: so if he is sort of if he's saying, look,
[28:17] Speaker 2: I'm not going to judge you. I would do the
[28:19] Speaker 2: same thing. I've done the same thing and it worked out.
[28:23] Speaker 2: And I think that's really sweet for Blaine to use
[28:27] Speaker 2: Kurt's dad's words in that moment, for him to hear
[28:30] Speaker 2: it remind him, and so they agreed to it. The
[28:35] Speaker 2: other thing that's happening is Brittany freaking out, which is
[28:39] Speaker 2: really fun, really fun because we don't really see her
[28:42] Speaker 2: freak out.
[28:43] Speaker 1: Now. Only in season five do we start to see that. Yeah,
[28:50] Speaker 1: I like this. I like this whole superstitious thing about
[28:53] Speaker 1: seeing the wedding the dresses. It's funny because when you
[28:57] Speaker 1: get married or you see a lot of friends getting
[28:59] Speaker 1: married eat around you in like a very specific time
[29:03] Speaker 1: in your life. There's like a lot of people who
[29:05] Speaker 1: get married around the same time, and you don't know
[29:09] Speaker 1: about these people until or like what kind of bride
[29:11] Speaker 1: they're going to be, until you're it. And so I
[29:16] Speaker 1: think there's a fun element, whether they were intending to
[29:21] Speaker 1: do this or not, of like seeing how people take
[29:25] Speaker 1: to these age old superstitions and and traditions, these traditions
[29:31] Speaker 1: and things that like you're not supposed to sleep with
[29:33] Speaker 1: your the person your partner the night before, and you're
[29:37] Speaker 1: not supposed to see the in the mint a dress
[29:39] Speaker 1: before and like you're supposed to wear this blue and
[29:42] Speaker 1: like all the stuff. That's like, yeah, I like tradition
[29:46] Speaker 1: some of it, but I also like, as we've said,
[29:48] Speaker 1: like after tradition, we don't do that. Like so I
[29:53] Speaker 1: liked seeing Brittany go the other way a little.
[29:58] Speaker 2: Bit, yeah, and her grabbing all the superstitions, like she
[30:02] Speaker 2: didn't care where it was from, she just it was
[30:04] Speaker 2: all of them. Did you enjoy doing like the bridle
[30:15] Speaker 2: shop stuff? Oh, we had that. That looked so much fun.
[30:19] Speaker 1: It was so much fun. It was well, we had
[30:23] Speaker 1: done this before, with Rachel's wedding and never got seen.
[30:27] Speaker 1: It got caught, and so we kept choking. We're like,
[30:29] Speaker 1: this is gonna get cut. But it was even better
[30:35] Speaker 1: this time around with her two girls in dresses, like
[30:39] Speaker 1: coming back and forth, so there's more like a plateful
[30:41] Speaker 1: element of like, say, yes, the dress, but there's two
[30:45] Speaker 1: of them, and how there's dresses. We're so ridiculous that
[30:56] Speaker 1: we had a grandle time watching them, like the light
[30:59] Speaker 1: up one and so good, it's so funny, and all
[31:05] Speaker 1: the different ones than I had on. It was just
[31:07] Speaker 1: like it was girls being girls. We were playing, we
[31:11] Speaker 1: had it was easy. We were just there to like hang.
[31:13] Speaker 1: We also hadn't all been together like that in a while,
[31:17] Speaker 1: like the ogs, so that was really sweet and fun
[31:22] Speaker 1: to see everybody and just be with them for the morning.
[31:25] Speaker 1: And I remember I remember more of Heather's dresses than
[31:32] Speaker 1: I did of Naya's. Maybe we shot more fathers to
[31:36] Speaker 1: be honest, because she probably ones and yeah, weird trains
[31:40] Speaker 1: and things like that. But yeah, that was like the
[31:44] Speaker 1: whole episode overall. I remember more behind the scenes hangs
[31:52] Speaker 1: than I do remember filming.
[31:55] Speaker 2: Yeah, I think also because there was so much set
[32:00] Speaker 2: up and a lot of these things that there was
[32:02] Speaker 2: a lot of downtime where we weren't actually shooting.
[32:05] Speaker 1: I don't feel like I shot at all now.
[32:08] Speaker 2: Like you said, everything felt like it was on the fly.
[32:11] Speaker 2: It was we didn't have time to like cover Normally
[32:15] Speaker 2: we're in the choir room, you're like doing a billion
[32:18] Speaker 2: takes because you're doing it. We're just it takes solely
[32:21] Speaker 2: on each person.
[32:23] Speaker 1: There's just so much to cover, and just saying, like
[32:26] Speaker 1: I remember when we had the Moms in the Troubletones
[32:29] Speaker 1: filming and I remember like just seeing the rehearsal, like
[32:32] Speaker 1: I have a video of them doing the rehearsal, and
[32:36] Speaker 1: then obviously like being there in the corner, but like
[32:38] Speaker 1: I don't think I filmed more than five minutes for
[32:41] Speaker 1: that scene, like just watching them perform.
[32:44] Speaker 2: I do remember like dying watching Vanessa. I distinctly remember
[32:49] Speaker 2: watching rehearsal and her doing that and we were all
[32:52] Speaker 2: we shouting.
[32:54] Speaker 1: Yes, she is insane, and like even when she's just
[32:57] Speaker 1: dancing by herself, like yeah, that's what I mean.
[33:00] Speaker 2: Like it's so good in the room because like obviously
[33:03] Speaker 2: they choreographed these things for the entire number and you're
[33:07] Speaker 2: seeing it cut up. But if you just watched her
[33:13] Speaker 2: that entire like her track for the entire song, it was.
[33:16] Speaker 1: The show She's it's the sugar monos and off is
[33:19] Speaker 1: what I'm talking about.
[33:22] Speaker 2: Like, it was so much fun. And also I felt
[33:24] Speaker 2: like we were getting to watch Gloria like an icon
[33:28] Speaker 2: perform and also do a number with Jennifer Coolidge, which crazy.
[33:33] Speaker 1: And all of them. Romy Is like up there, She's
[33:35] Speaker 1: like are you kidding me? Right now? She's so much
[33:38] Speaker 1: there was It was really really really fun.
[33:40] Speaker 2: Speaking of romy M, So we had that trailer we
[33:45] Speaker 2: all hung out in, and Romie, per tradition of weddings,
[33:53] Speaker 2: brought some tequila, yes and yes cold nights and so
[34:00] Speaker 2: we just had it warm up with a little.
[34:02] Speaker 1: Tequila, just a sip.
[34:08] Speaker 2: Which we shouldn't have to do. Nobody was drunk, no no, no,
[34:11] Speaker 2: no no, but this is a sip.
[34:14] Speaker 1: Well.
[34:14] Speaker 2: Also, we were waiting for hours, so even if people
[34:16] Speaker 2: did get a little tipsy, we sobered up before we
[34:19] Speaker 2: had to work.
[34:20] Speaker 1: Yeah, it was really not I mean who worked.
[34:23] Speaker 2: Nobody worked, it was and watch it. Yeah, all of
[34:27] Speaker 2: it felt so silly.
[34:29] Speaker 1: We were hanging out in those in that trailer, and
[34:32] Speaker 1: Romie also brought a sleeping bags, like like a robe
[34:37] Speaker 1: sleeping bag because it was so cold that she was like,
[34:39] Speaker 1: let me bring this like sleeping bag thing, and everybody
[34:43] Speaker 1: decided to like try it on and get in it.
[34:46] Speaker 1: And then Vanessa was like, you guys could get in
[34:48] Speaker 1: it together, and so she zipped us up in it,
[34:51] Speaker 1: but we couldn't get it all the way up, huh.
[34:55] Speaker 1: And we also for that we fell.
[34:59] Speaker 2: Yeah, we fell. We were losing it.
[35:03] Speaker 1: We were really losing it at this point, and everybody's
[35:06] Speaker 1: hanging out and we were just all I think it
[35:08] Speaker 1: was lunchtime, to be honest, And it was such a
[35:11] Speaker 1: fun time to have like old and new all day. Yeah,
[35:16] Speaker 1: like from the beginning OG's all the way until the newbies,
[35:22] Speaker 1: Like it was really cool. It was a really fun time.
[35:26] Speaker 2: It's also like weird, like walking into the Crafty truck
[35:28] Speaker 2: and then Gina Gershaan is there like making a sandwich
[35:32] Speaker 2: and I was like, what is so weird? I'm like hi.
[35:37] Speaker 1: Also, you performed a lot of songs in this episode.
[35:42] Speaker 1: I remember like seeing you behind like also off camera
[35:46] Speaker 1: but on camera, like we were never together because you're
[35:49] Speaker 1: always up on the state. You were just like you
[35:53] Speaker 1: may as well have gotten married.
[35:56] Speaker 2: Believe if Already's going to plant this wedding, he will
[35:59] Speaker 2: be a focus of the wedding.
[36:02] Speaker 1: You were in every number.
[36:07] Speaker 2: You know, what's a travesty is not hearing Noah do
[36:10] Speaker 2: at last with Amber instead of me.
[36:13] Speaker 1: Oh, I would have liked that. But I will say,
[36:16] Speaker 1: you guys sounded great like you sounded great.
[36:18] Speaker 2: It's just it was held a record. Was really such
[36:24] Speaker 2: an unenjoyable experience because it is such a hard song
[36:29] Speaker 2: to sing, a song that Amber should be doing by herself.
[36:33] Speaker 2: And Luke is an incredible singer. As I've said, he's
[36:38] Speaker 2: much better than I am. He has the range I
[36:42] Speaker 2: do not. It sat in the most uncomfortable part of
[36:45] Speaker 2: my voice. Oh god, and it was really discouraging. It was.
[36:50] Speaker 2: It was so hard to get through. But I mean,
[36:53] Speaker 2: I love listening to you now.
[36:55] Speaker 1: Yeah, great number.
[36:57] Speaker 2: They make me sound great.
[36:58] Speaker 1: But also hey yah, how is hey ya? The studio
[37:03] Speaker 1: Hey y'ah.
[37:07] Speaker 2: Was one of those where I I knew the song
[37:11] Speaker 2: very very well. Obviously everybody does, and because you know,
[37:19] Speaker 2: Alex has a method to recording and is very specific
[37:23] Speaker 2: in particular that and he's right, But yeah, it was
[37:28] Speaker 2: tough to like it sounds like hundred thousands, just like
[37:32] Speaker 2: vibing through a lot of that song. And so it's
[37:35] Speaker 2: hard to like feel that or like give.
[37:38] Speaker 1: That when you're trying technically it's so specific. Yeah yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah,
[37:43] Speaker 1: for sure. That's the skill of recording, you know, in
[37:47] Speaker 1: the studio.
[37:49] Speaker 2: Yeah, so I thought it would be more fun to record.
[37:51] Speaker 2: But that also is not that great. But I again,
[37:53] Speaker 2: I like the I like the recording. I like it
[37:56] Speaker 2: last better. Feeling that number was fun because we were
[38:00] Speaker 2: just being stupid. And again, that felt really quick.
[38:04] Speaker 1: I don't I actually don't remember that one. I don't
[38:07] Speaker 1: remember that.
[38:08] Speaker 2: Because it was really quick, so fast. Yeah, this is
[38:12] Speaker 2: very fast.
[38:12] Speaker 1: Yeah, this is like shoot it, get the coverage you need,
[38:15] Speaker 1: get the people you need to cover, and get out.
[38:18] Speaker 2: And Beaker was an expert at yes, And this is why,
[38:22] Speaker 2: like you said, we only saw like the Moms and
[38:24] Speaker 2: the treble Tones shoot a couple times because if we normally,
[38:29] Speaker 2: if you're like off camera in the room, you stay
[38:33] Speaker 2: there even if the camera's not on you to give
[38:34] Speaker 2: the reactions to the other people. Because this was in
[38:38] Speaker 2: so much space and there were so many people, they
[38:41] Speaker 2: got all of us out of the room so they
[38:42] Speaker 2: could move as quickly as possible, so like we were
[38:45] Speaker 2: only in the room when we were.
[38:46] Speaker 1: On camps on camera. That's right. That's why I don't
[38:49] Speaker 1: remember a lot of that either. Yeah, that's right. The
[38:52] Speaker 1: other thing that's happening is that with speaking of Carol
[38:58] Speaker 1: and Rummy, is that Rachel is worried about Carl and
[39:01] Speaker 1: Bert seeing them with Sam because obviously it's Finn's mom
[39:06] Speaker 1: and it's tough to show that she's moving on.
[39:10] Speaker 2: Yeah, as an understandable concern, and I yeah, I like
[39:14] Speaker 2: the way they're treating it's hard to say story behind
[39:19] Speaker 2: a Finn because we lost it's very much a real person, right,
[39:25] Speaker 2: But the way that it's sprinkled in, and every time
[39:28] Speaker 2: it's sprinkled in, it's a very gentle or gentle. It's
[39:34] Speaker 2: not overly dramatic, right, and not making light of it.
[39:38] Speaker 2: It's like a really like grounded way. And I really
[39:41] Speaker 2: respect how they did it, and it was respectful how
[39:43] Speaker 2: they did it.
[39:44] Speaker 1: Yeah, I think also there's like part of it. These
[39:47] Speaker 1: feel like small moments and but in somebody's grief, like
[39:52] Speaker 1: they feel so large, right, they're huge milestones. They are
[39:56] Speaker 1: huge milestones, but things you don't think about unless you've
[40:00] Speaker 1: grand scrape, which most people have some yeah, you know, respect,
[40:04] Speaker 1: But like I think everything they've hand, if they've done,
[40:10] Speaker 1: they've just dropped in like you said, they've dropped in
[40:13] Speaker 1: little pieces to remind us of what Rachel's going through,
[40:16] Speaker 1: what we're all going through. What and then like also
[40:19] Speaker 1: mirroring that in real life. So it was really yea sweet.
[40:23] Speaker 2: And that shot of them entering the dance floor across
[40:26] Speaker 2: from and Carol and.
[40:28] Speaker 1: Then Carol them being like, go ahead. It's just so
[40:32] Speaker 1: sweet and really well done, really really well done. The
[40:38] Speaker 1: other thing that's happening is that Tina is of course
[40:43] Speaker 1: feeling jealous without even really knowing it, and she decides
[40:50] Speaker 1: that she's going to gather her best boys, including Puck,
[40:54] Speaker 1: and reveal that she's going to propose to Mike and
[41:02] Speaker 1: at somebody else's wedding.
[41:05] Speaker 2: I did not know this storyline was in this episode.
[41:09] Speaker 1: Oh true, Tiniform.
[41:11] Speaker 2: Because I remember this happening, but you see, this episode
[41:17] Speaker 2: to me is like the wedding, the wedding, and I
[41:20] Speaker 2: can't believe it is fit into this episode. Obviously, it
[41:24] Speaker 2: makes sense thematically, it makes perfect sense. For some reason,
[41:27] Speaker 2: I just didn't.
[41:29] Speaker 1: Yeah, So Tina gathers everybody in the choir room and
[41:33] Speaker 1: Already is the only one that's like slightly skeptical. Obviously,
[41:37] Speaker 1: Blaine is in like lover's Land again, so he's like
[41:39] Speaker 1: all four it, and Puck is weirdly there and supportive
[41:45] Speaker 1: of it. It was hard to justify this, to be honest,
[41:52] Speaker 1: like in as Tina, like as an actor. M hmm,
[41:59] Speaker 1: because it like a little bit like we were now.
[42:02] Speaker 1: I don't hate this storyline. It ends up. I like
[42:05] Speaker 1: the where it ends up, but just proposing all of
[42:11] Speaker 1: these people getting married they're in high school or just
[42:14] Speaker 1: out of high school, Like I think now watching it
[42:19] Speaker 1: from our perspective as thirty real you know yearal people
[42:23] Speaker 1: like you're like, oh my god, why is everybody talking
[42:25] Speaker 1: about marriage? Although we were thinking about it at that time,
[42:29] Speaker 1: like in high school, like as a society, we are
[42:33] Speaker 1: built to everybody finds a partner and they get married
[42:37] Speaker 1: for life and that's it, you know what I mean,
[42:38] Speaker 1: And like there's a this is the pressure around that.
[42:42] Speaker 1: So the life plans in high school. I hope it's
[42:45] Speaker 1: not the same anymore. But I thought I was like
[42:48] Speaker 1: had my whole life planned out in my twenties. So
[42:52] Speaker 1: but it was hard to justify because Mike and Tina
[42:55] Speaker 1: had gone away for so long and like we hadn't
[42:59] Speaker 1: heard of their relationship for her to just be like
[43:01] Speaker 1: out of nowhere, like we reconnected and now I'm going
[43:03] Speaker 1: to propose. But it is kind of Tina, like for
[43:07] Speaker 1: her to do something like that a little.
[43:10] Speaker 2: It felt natural Tina, because it's like a little reactionary,
[43:15] Speaker 2: I mean a lot.
[43:15] Speaker 1: Of reactionary yeah, impulsive yeah.
[43:18] Speaker 2: And the fact that like you don't really have a
[43:22] Speaker 2: relationship with Mike anymore, and you're like, well, because I
[43:26] Speaker 2: mean that thing of when everyone starts getting married or
[43:28] Speaker 2: everyone like it starts dating somebody or you feel it
[43:32] Speaker 2: and you're like, oh do I want that too? Right?
[43:35] Speaker 2: And so I understand that, but like to be doing
[43:38] Speaker 2: that at someone else's wedding, wild wild.
[43:43] Speaker 1: And like I don't think I had the wherewithal to
[43:45] Speaker 1: realize that as a as Jenna like that you even
[43:49] Speaker 1: at that point, like you don't propose to somebody at
[43:52] Speaker 1: somebody else's weddy even though like you don't I don't think,
[43:56] Speaker 1: Like I was like, oh my god, but now and
[43:58] Speaker 1: then I watch it again, I'm like Tina. Yeah, thank god,
[44:03] Speaker 1: he said no.
[44:04] Speaker 2: It's also one of those things that, like, you know,
[44:06] Speaker 2: when you go home, you like revert back to how
[44:08] Speaker 2: you were as a kid or as a teen or whatever,
[44:11] Speaker 2: and so it's sort of like Tina's probably one way
[44:13] Speaker 2: at Brown and she comes back and is around all
[44:16] Speaker 2: the same people and goes back to like taking up
[44:20] Speaker 2: the role that she was in that yeah, which was
[44:22] Speaker 2: cringe Tina oh Man.
[44:24] Speaker 1: And she's also just fearful. I think she's fearful of
[44:27] Speaker 1: being alone forever. And so it actually ends up that
[44:30] Speaker 1: Mike says now and it's sweet. Yeah, it was again,
[44:36] Speaker 1: it was really fast.
[44:38] Speaker 2: You know.
[44:38] Speaker 1: What was really fun was shooting the one. The scene
[44:43] Speaker 1: prior to that when she sees Mike for the first
[44:45] Speaker 1: time up in the rafters kind of above the wedding
[44:49] Speaker 1: and Puck is there and Mark was like throwing some
[44:54] Speaker 1: stupid poop and fart jokes at us like in yeah,
[44:59] Speaker 1: in between and it was making us laugh a lot,
[45:02] Speaker 1: And that was a really fun scene to shoot, and
[45:06] Speaker 1: Harry and I had a really great time shooting the
[45:07] Speaker 1: other one too. It just it was really fast, Like
[45:10] Speaker 1: I remember having to in my mind get this right,
[45:14] Speaker 1: justify it for myself, believe it, and then shoot it
[45:18] Speaker 1: all at the same time, yeah, which was like just
[45:21] Speaker 1: get there. But of course, like it was nice to
[45:24] Speaker 1: work with Harry again. And I just remember having a
[45:28] Speaker 1: really hard time with that storyline.
[45:30] Speaker 2: Yeah, I get it.
[45:31] Speaker 1: It was my favorite.
[45:33] Speaker 2: It feels really crazy.
[45:34] Speaker 1: Yeah, And I couldn't couldn't ground myself in it, Like
[45:38] Speaker 1: I really just couldn't. I was like, I don't know
[45:40] Speaker 1: that I can get on board with this or whatever.
[45:43] Speaker 1: But it did lead us to the Artina Tarti scene
[45:47] Speaker 1: in the classroom, which is one of my favorite films
[45:49] Speaker 1: to one of my favorite scenes to film.
[45:51] Speaker 2: I think it's my favorite scene we ever.
[45:54] Speaker 1: Did, agreed. I mean, we have some ones up there
[45:58] Speaker 1: that I loved filming, me too. But there was something
[46:02] Speaker 1: like very mature about this.
[46:03] Speaker 2: It was very Jenna and Kevin. Yeah yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah,
[46:07] Speaker 2: And it felt like a really I was appreciative of it,
[46:10] Speaker 2: and I don't I'm appreciative of it now and I
[46:13] Speaker 2: was shortly after. I don't know if I realized at
[46:15] Speaker 2: the time, like what a good button it was for
[46:19] Speaker 2: us our experiences on the show totally, and it felt,
[46:26] Speaker 2: you know, a lot of the times our storylines were crazy,
[46:29] Speaker 2: Like in this episode, you had a crazy storyline. I
[46:31] Speaker 2: had that STD storyline a couple episodes ago, and so yeah,
[46:38] Speaker 2: it felt nice to have sort of a grounded, mature,
[46:41] Speaker 2: real conversation. Yeah, what is crazy is us saying we
[46:45] Speaker 2: get married when we were thirty?
[46:46] Speaker 1: I move, I was. Yeah. I gagged a little bit
[46:51] Speaker 1: on that one.
[46:51] Speaker 2: Because how old are you when we were filming.
[46:53] Speaker 1: This twenty nine, twenty nine, twenty eight or twenty nine?
[47:03] Speaker 2: Yeah, but how old are you now?
[47:06] Speaker 1: Thirty nine? Yeah, ten years ago. I was twenty eight
[47:12] Speaker 1: at the time, I was twenty eight because I turned
[47:14] Speaker 1: twenty nine and April. So yeah, that's crazy. That's also
[47:20] Speaker 1: like a lot of that packed is usually like by forty,
[47:22] Speaker 1: you make that pack, right, did you like anybody?
[47:26] Speaker 2: You know?
[47:26] Speaker 1: I did with a friend a long time ago, and
[47:30] Speaker 1: then I hit thirty something and got married. So it
[47:36] Speaker 1: didn't work out. Yeah I did. But also even forty
[47:41] Speaker 1: at this point, now you're like, it's not She's a
[47:43] Speaker 1: different world.
[47:44] Speaker 2: I also think you know where we grew up. Most
[47:46] Speaker 2: people grow like in the.
[47:47] Speaker 1: Suburbs married in their twenties.
[47:49] Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, I just have how many friends you haven't
[47:51] Speaker 2: got married out of high school, like I have friends
[47:53] Speaker 2: who got bred out of high school.
[47:54] Speaker 1: No college, college okay, but still thirty felt really close.
[48:00] Speaker 1: I'm sure we were saying that while we were filming
[48:01] Speaker 1: it too that I was like, okay, but for Ardentina
[48:05] Speaker 1: in their life, that felt like a long way like
[48:08] Speaker 1: a long way away. And yeah, I loved that scene.
[48:13] Speaker 1: Filming that scene is probably one of my favorites as well.
[48:16] Speaker 1: Also just because you have Brad Beeker there who like
[48:19] Speaker 1: comes in like whispers to you in between, like very calm.
[48:23] Speaker 1: He just he captured it so beautifully. It was just
[48:28] Speaker 1: honest and like it is a nice button. And uh yeah,
[48:34] Speaker 1: I really really loved that one.
[48:35] Speaker 2: Another really quick scene to shoot, and the key was
[48:39] Speaker 2: I'm noticing, you know in this episode there's a lot
[48:41] Speaker 2: of scenes with just two people or three people, and
[48:45] Speaker 2: that's what he could grab us shoot, get it and
[48:47] Speaker 2: get quickly and move on.
[48:49] Speaker 1: Yeah. The wedding itself was very fast, like there was
[49:02] Speaker 1: a lot that happened there, but like the vows, we
[49:05] Speaker 1: were like fast the vows.
[49:09] Speaker 2: No, my gusta no. Like these two couples have been
[49:13] Speaker 2: monumental for all of us.
[49:16] Speaker 1: And we're splitting them them and then.
[49:19] Speaker 2: They also just felt like why did all the good
[49:23] Speaker 2: conversations happen off the altar? Like, I don't know, I
[49:28] Speaker 2: felt like they could have m done some more meaningful vows,
[49:33] Speaker 2: and I also wanted Burt to like really lean into
[49:35] Speaker 2: his burtness, and it all felt because we didn't have time.
[49:37] Speaker 2: It all felt just really quick.
[49:39] Speaker 1: Yeah, agreed, agreed, let's crede some performances.
[49:45] Speaker 2: Okay, at last, At last, I mean the performance is
[49:51] Speaker 2: sort of boring, but it's the aisle, so I don't know.
[49:53] Speaker 1: A A hey, yeah, A A yeah, let's do a minus.
[50:01] Speaker 1: I'm so excited, A plus A plus. I was gonna
[50:05] Speaker 1: give it a day, but I'll give it a plus
[50:07] Speaker 1: and our day will come B B plus plus. Okay,
[50:12] Speaker 1: that was easy. Let's see some charty takes, uh cringe moments.
[50:17] Speaker 1: Gina Hershan playing drunk is very funny, so funny. I
[50:22] Speaker 1: was a little creeped out by her hang on Puck,
[50:25] Speaker 1: even though he guessed he was like a college kid
[50:29] Speaker 1: at that point. But I was like, mm, I don't know, yeah,
[50:33] Speaker 1: it doesn't seem I don't okay, I don't know. Yeah,
[50:37] Speaker 1: I didn't like it. Best dance move Benji's dance the
[50:45] Speaker 1: whole thing, best song at last, I'm okay with that right? Uh?
[50:52] Speaker 1: Performance by a prop, Oh, there's.
[50:54] Speaker 2: A lot, you know, it was my least favorite prop.
[50:58] Speaker 2: What the ot P hats hated still hate with the
[51:05] Speaker 2: fiery rage?
[51:07] Speaker 1: Where did that come from?
[51:08] Speaker 2: It's it's from the internet, and it felt like old
[51:11] Speaker 2: people trying to get onto an internet trend. Did they
[51:15] Speaker 2: learned that there was.
[51:16] Speaker 1: Oh I don't like that.
[51:17] Speaker 2: No, I hate that.
[51:21] Speaker 1: I do like. Uh, the cutouts absolutely press, the seating chart.
[51:33] Speaker 2: I love a miniature seating chart thing. Yeah, that was
[51:37] Speaker 2: really fun.
[51:39] Speaker 1: Yeah.
[51:41] Speaker 2: Best line, oh, easy, mine is you're blowing it and
[51:47] Speaker 2: you need to sit down because nobody's uglier than you
[51:49] Speaker 2: without your clothes on. Knock it off.
[51:52] Speaker 1: Apparently I'm ugly with everybody's nobody's ugly. And this toaster comment,
[52:00] Speaker 1: this whole speech is just beyond Oh.
[52:02] Speaker 2: That's what I wanted to say. What I do remember
[52:05] Speaker 2: filming and what didn't make it in They gave Ken
[52:09] Speaker 2: the opportunity and the time to really just go for it,
[52:15] Speaker 2: and he improved for his life, for his life, and
[52:18] Speaker 2: like those times were long and they were so good, they.
[52:22] Speaker 1: Were really funny. I do remember that. Yeah, everybody was
[52:25] Speaker 1: just laughing. The other quote that I like is Whitney
[52:30] Speaker 1: in the Barn in the beginning Coolidge. So she's like
[52:34] Speaker 1: talking about the AMI's country and she's like I quickly
[52:37] Speaker 1: pulled down my pants and I squatted real low, and
[52:40] Speaker 1: usually I never looked, but it was just my lucky day.
[52:43] Speaker 1: I looked down and it turns out I was in
[52:45] Speaker 1: the labor in Brittany. It was you so good?
[52:51] Speaker 2: You know what I did? I love Sash Hate was
[52:55] Speaker 2: in Sue's walking out and she's like, I've got to
[52:58] Speaker 2: come up with some new ship or fodder. Hmm, how
[53:00] Speaker 2: about Puck Sades, how's that? Or FABERI can't get enough
[53:03] Speaker 2: of the lesbians and it's like, don't get any more fuel.
[53:07] Speaker 1: I know, I know, Live Love, prosper Performance, MVB.
[53:18] Speaker 2: I think we just have I feel like the couples.
[53:21] Speaker 1: The couples, yeah, just the squad, the quad, Yeah the quad? Wow. Okay,
[53:28] Speaker 1: well that's a wedding.
[53:30] Speaker 2: I was. I'm sad it's over because I was really
[53:32] Speaker 2: looking forward to that.
[53:33] Speaker 1: I know. It's just so many memories on that episode.
[53:36] Speaker 2: Yeah, okay, should we found on TikTok Laurel C. Walls
[53:47] Speaker 2: posted some Coachella video. She said, Gleeks Never Die and
[53:52] Speaker 2: it's her at numerous performances and then them saying they
[53:58] Speaker 2: did this hung Glee bone you have Gaga. It's very
[54:06] Speaker 2: very accurate. Yeah, I love it because we're everywhere. You
[54:12] Speaker 2: can't get rid of us.
[54:13] Speaker 1: Okay, well that's a wedding. Next episode is episode nine
[54:16] Speaker 1: of thirteen for season six, Kevin and you will leave it.
[54:21] Speaker 1: Next one is child Star, so Josie Tota is on
[54:25] Speaker 1: Infineas also joins and we get a lot of songs,
[54:28] Speaker 1: so tune in. Wow. Okay, that's that's it.
[54:36] Speaker 2: Two more Glee couples married.
[54:40] Speaker 1: And one who didn't.
[54:42] Speaker 2: And one forty two minute episode. There you go, that's
[54:47] Speaker 2: where that happened. It is you have saying that a
[54:50] Speaker 2: little too much lately, Jenna, you're getting a little too comfortable.
[54:54] Speaker 1: Beat me to it. I challenge you.
[54:57] Speaker 2: I mean, there's no reason why you can't say it.
[54:59] Speaker 2: I don't know. Okay, Bye, Thanks for listening and follow
