[0:20] Speaker 1: Can you believe we are in the holidays?
[0:24] Speaker 2: We're not in the holidays? We're like almost over?
[0:27] Speaker 1: You stop that.
[0:28] Speaker 2: How did this happen so quickly?
[0:30] Speaker 1: I don't know, honestly. Once you hit Halloween, it's all over.
[0:33] Speaker 2: Yeah it is.
[0:36] Speaker 1: But here we are. We made it, we did, and
[0:40] Speaker 1: you are deep in your holiday musical beater life a.
[0:45] Speaker 2: Bit I have today and tomorrow off.
[0:47] Speaker 1: Oh, that's so exciting.
[0:48] Speaker 2: Christmas, even Christy today.
[0:50] Speaker 1: I remember doing musicals during holidays and it was always tough.
[0:56] Speaker 1: I remember doing like missing Easter and missing Christmas. I
[1:01] Speaker 1: would do like half Christmas and then have to go
[1:03] Speaker 1: into the city, and so I remember that life.
[1:06] Speaker 2: Well it's a lot, yeah, but you know, I it's
[1:11] Speaker 2: nice that like people are coming into the city or
[1:15] Speaker 2: are in the city and seeing shows and to checking
[1:18] Speaker 2: around in New York during this time of year is really.
[1:22] Speaker 1: Oh yeah, it's very special. Yeah.
[1:25] Speaker 2: The Santa Con everything else is so pretty.
[1:30] Speaker 1: The worst is.
[1:33] Speaker 2: The worst thing to ever happen to humanity. That's not true,
[1:36] Speaker 2: but the worst. I'm pretty sure that's how I got
[1:40] Speaker 2: COVID a couple of years ago.
[1:42] Speaker 1: No, yeah, no, Santa con You know, it's just it's
[1:47] Speaker 1: so beautiful here.
[1:48] Speaker 2: Having lived in LA since I was fifteen and now
[1:52] Speaker 2: being eighteen, it's just you have.
[1:55] Speaker 1: To watch and like go to the plaza and do
[2:00] Speaker 1: the all the things. Did you see the tree? You
[2:03] Speaker 1: got to the tree?
[2:04] Speaker 2: I saw the tree while they were had the scaffolding
[2:06] Speaker 2: around it and they were building it, and.
[2:08] Speaker 1: I guess seemed you've seen the journey.
[2:11] Speaker 2: Yeah. And so it's been up. It's beautiful. Everyone's been
[2:14] Speaker 2: ice skating. It's just nice. I'm not used to a
[2:18] Speaker 2: cold Christmas.
[2:19] Speaker 1: You're gonna get like a really cold Christmas this year.
[2:22] Speaker 1: Oh yeah, it's going to be really cold. You've got
[2:25] Speaker 1: like a weird cold Christmas, Like it's been warm in
[2:28] Speaker 1: New York for the last few years.
[2:31] Speaker 2: Oh man, what are you doing for Christmas Eve and Christmas?
[2:36] Speaker 1: Just some family things and we've done some LA holiday
[2:42] Speaker 1: things that we do every year. We finally got to
[2:45] Speaker 1: see Santa this year, and we got really excited to
[2:49] Speaker 1: meet Santa this year and then we got up to
[2:52] Speaker 1: meet Santa and we had a full blown all down.
[2:56] Speaker 1: But Graham's got to meet Santa. She freaked out and that's.
[3:00] Speaker 2: She's scared of him.
[3:01] Speaker 1: She was, but she wasn't like she was so excited
[3:04] Speaker 1: and then she got in there and she got real nervous.
[3:08] Speaker 1: We still have a picture with him, but uh, the
[3:12] Speaker 1: g R I n c H this year really took
[3:14] Speaker 1: us down. And that is something that we've dealt with.
[3:18] Speaker 1: So we don't speak his name like he who I
[3:21] Speaker 1: mean terrifying. Yeah, yeah, we don't. We don't speak his name,
[3:26] Speaker 1: but we are. We've done like the Holiday road in
[3:29] Speaker 1: LA and they have at the zoo they have all
[3:31] Speaker 1: these like light up animals that are so beautiful to
[3:34] Speaker 1: see and you know this disconso gardens here in La
[3:38] Speaker 1: also does like a holiday road as well. So it's
[3:41] Speaker 1: been fun doing all the warm weather things in Christmas.
[3:44] Speaker 1: And you know, we used to go to New York,
[3:47] Speaker 1: but you know, we've been staying here because the kids,
[3:51] Speaker 1: you know, it's waking up ony Christmas morning. Yeah, no,
[3:54] Speaker 1: you wake up Christmas morning and we have a tree
[3:58] Speaker 1: and we do all that we do out the tree
[4:00] Speaker 1: and do all the fun things.
[4:01] Speaker 2: So it's been I mean four memories you're building with that.
[4:04] Speaker 1: That's what I'm saying. You know, we make cookies and
[4:07] Speaker 1: we decorate, and we do hankah as well, so we
[4:10] Speaker 1: we do connic each night and that's been fun. It's
[4:15] Speaker 1: been really fun.
[4:16] Speaker 2: That's special.
[4:17] Speaker 1: Yeah. And it's also the time for Glee Christmas.
[4:20] Speaker 2: Oh, it sure is. Have you playing Glee Christmas music
[4:23] Speaker 2: for the kids?
[4:24] Speaker 1: Absolutely haven't came to play it. We just it's everywhere
[4:27] Speaker 1: we go. It's true, it plays everywhere we go.
[4:31] Speaker 2: Literally walking down the street here, I'm like, and that's
[4:33] Speaker 2: Leah and Boy singing Last Christmas.
[4:35] Speaker 1: That's so funny. Yeah, that's really funny. Wow.
[4:39] Speaker 2: Wow is it crazy?
[4:42] Speaker 1: Now?
[4:43] Speaker 2: Like do you think about how your parents must have
[4:45] Speaker 2: felt like planning Christmas for you guys, Because obviously we
[4:49] Speaker 2: just know we have those memories. I know what it's
[4:52] Speaker 2: felt like and how special it was, But like when
[4:54] Speaker 2: you're the parent doing it, you're just like trying to
[4:58] Speaker 2: get through the day. You hope the kids like it.
[5:01] Speaker 2: Is it enough? Like what what does it feel like
[5:03] Speaker 2: on your side of it? Now? Yeah?
[5:05] Speaker 1: Like a deep appreciation for like realizing that like Christmas
[5:09] Speaker 1: was your appearance, making the magic like that was it.
[5:13] Speaker 1: And so we're still at the age where they're young enough,
[5:17] Speaker 1: although Emma's old enough now that I can no longer
[5:19] Speaker 1: hide her presence like upstairs in my bedroom behind the chair,
[5:23] Speaker 1: like it, they have to be hidden and all the
[5:27] Speaker 1: things that come with creating that Christmas magic. So yeah, no,
[5:32] Speaker 1: I have a deep appreciation for it. I'm absolutely exhausted.
[5:35] Speaker 1: People are like, how's your break? How is your Thanksgiving break?
[5:38] Speaker 1: How's your Christmas break? You're like, what break? It's the
[5:40] Speaker 1: opposite of a break, freaking talking about because you were
[5:43] Speaker 1: crazy home. Any of this is a break exactly. They're home,
[5:47] Speaker 1: they're sick, and we're tired. But it's still it's still magical.
[5:53] Speaker 1: And you know, it's not about how many presents are
[5:56] Speaker 1: under the tree. It's just really about making those memories
[5:58] Speaker 1: and like being together and making them yours, like not
[6:03] Speaker 1: doing the things that like other people want you to do.
[6:05] Speaker 1: It's just like it's really nice. So it's been it's
[6:08] Speaker 1: been really fun. But I do have a new deep
[6:10] Speaker 1: appreciation for the creation of those memories.
[6:15] Speaker 2: Do you have any traditions that you're like starting with them?
[6:18] Speaker 2: Are things like movies or songs or meals.
[6:21] Speaker 1: Like she's just starting to get into movies now, so
[6:23] Speaker 1: like we haven't gotten into the really good movies yet,
[6:25] Speaker 1: like Elf and you know, Home Alone and all those,
[6:29] Speaker 1: but we do do like the Charlie Brown, you know,
[6:32] Speaker 1: the Great Pumpkin and the Christmas and I think we're
[6:34] Speaker 1: going to show her the Muppets this year. And there's
[6:38] Speaker 1: like the Christmas Parade that we listen we watch on
[6:40] Speaker 1: Christmas Morning and we big cookies and like now we
[6:45] Speaker 1: do leave like cookies for Xanna the day before and yeah,
[6:51] Speaker 1: I think like little things like that. We do pancakes
[6:53] Speaker 1: on Christmas Morning and so we'll do that tomorrow. And
[6:58] Speaker 1: we're just starting because they're so young that like none
[7:01] Speaker 1: of this feels like it's yeah, for sure, for sure,
[7:05] Speaker 1: we do a christ We do a ginger bread house
[7:08] Speaker 1: every year with my family in New York that we
[7:10] Speaker 1: do on our iPads, but we do the same ginger breadhouse,
[7:13] Speaker 1: so like the cousins get to do that together. So
[7:16] Speaker 1: what Okay? Now, so now you're in New York for
[7:18] Speaker 1: this Christmas, Kevin, this is your first Christmas in New York,
[7:21] Speaker 1: not in Texas, because you're usually in Texas. Correct, So
[7:25] Speaker 1: what does this Christmas look like for you and your family?
[7:28] Speaker 1: Most of your family's in New York too, which is
[7:29] Speaker 1: so great, close close by. What does this Christmas look
[7:33] Speaker 1: like for you guys?
[7:34] Speaker 2: Well, everybody was up here last week. So my brother
[7:40] Speaker 2: and his family who still live in Texas, they all
[7:42] Speaker 2: came to the city. My parents drive in from Connecticut,
[7:48] Speaker 2: and my other brother was staying with me, and so
[7:50] Speaker 2: we were all in the city together for like five days,
[7:54] Speaker 2: which was the first nay. They all came to see
[7:56] Speaker 2: the show. There's all that happening, which is really nice,
[8:01] Speaker 2: you know. I mean it's definitely a sometimes a bit
[8:04] Speaker 2: of a challenge coordinating everybody in the city, and especially
[8:07] Speaker 2: when they're not used to it.
[8:09] Speaker 1: You know, the city is a different beast. It's a
[8:12] Speaker 1: different beast.
[8:13] Speaker 2: Like the parents moved back to Connecticut and so like
[8:16] Speaker 2: they've been adjusting to the cold. But then like walking
[8:19] Speaker 2: around the city where there's a lot.
[8:20] Speaker 1: Of people, it's lower.
[8:24] Speaker 2: Yes, But for actual Christmas Day, I'm going to my
[8:28] Speaker 2: sisters choose in the Jersey. My parents are going to
[8:31] Speaker 2: drive down. Yeah, so we'll be there for that and
[8:34] Speaker 2: that's my first time doing that. So we'll see what
[8:35] Speaker 2: it looks like. I don't know, are you going to.
[8:37] Speaker 1: Do Christmas breakfast like you normally.
[8:39] Speaker 2: Do I have? I don't know.
[8:41] Speaker 1: Actually, I know it's all different, right.
[8:43] Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm feeling lazier.
[8:48] Speaker 1: You've been a little busy, so yeah, the past.
[8:53] Speaker 2: Week we had ten shows. Those holiday schedules are so fertile,
[8:57] Speaker 2: so like I'm kind of just like into not doing anything.
[9:01] Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, I hear that. I hear that.
[9:03] Speaker 2: So yeah, that's that's sort of where I'm at.
[9:07] Speaker 1: Okay, well you kick those feed up. Thank you, you're welcome.
[9:19] Speaker 1: I have a little game for us to do before
[9:22] Speaker 1: we go enjoy our holidays and let everybody else go
[9:25] Speaker 1: enjoy their holidays.
[9:26] Speaker 2: Yeah it's this or that, Okay, great.
[9:29] Speaker 1: White Christmas or warm weather Christmas, White Christmas, white Christmas,
[9:35] Speaker 1: warm weather New Year's Yeah yeah, real tree or fake tree,
[9:42] Speaker 1: fake tree, real?
[9:44] Speaker 2: I like, I prefer a real tree. I don't like
[9:47] Speaker 2: the messiness. And it's a lot. It's a lot, but
[9:49] Speaker 2: it is easier to get rid of.
[9:52] Speaker 1: But the reasonable one is something else.
[9:55] Speaker 2: We grew up with.
[9:56] Speaker 1: A reasonable one. It's so easy. Haw coke or eggnog coco. Yeah,
[10:02] Speaker 1: definitely a Christmas Eve person or Christmas Morning person, Christmas
[10:08] Speaker 1: Christmas Morning. Matching pjs or cozy sweats. Okay, I love
[10:14] Speaker 1: cozy sweats. I'll always choose cozy sweats. But we do
[10:16] Speaker 1: have matching pj's.
[10:17] Speaker 2: I know, if it's like a thing, if everybody is
[10:20] Speaker 2: doing matching pj's, I think that's cute. But I'm I'm
[10:22] Speaker 2: in real life.
[10:24] Speaker 1: Coz Yeah, always I will put the matching PJS on
[10:27] Speaker 1: then I will make it into cozy sweats after Yeah,
[10:31] Speaker 1: holiday party or stay home movie night, Stay home movie night,
[10:35] Speaker 1: allttle bit of both. Like holiday party is the only
[10:37] Speaker 1: time you'll get me out for a party. However, I'll
[10:40] Speaker 1: do it.
[10:41] Speaker 2: My friend through a holiday party last year. That did
[10:44] Speaker 2: make me change my tune. Yeah, it was great. Shout
[10:46] Speaker 2: out to Leland. Yeah, they had a caviar stand.
[10:51] Speaker 1: Oh okay, that's it.
[10:52] Speaker 2: They'd make marchinies and give you ket with chips Jenna
[10:57] Speaker 2: and then had a drag performance.
[10:59] Speaker 1: I mean, that's the dream party.
[11:00] Speaker 2: It was, That's the dream Donuts, there was cream station.
[11:06] Speaker 1: Somebody knew you were coming.
[11:08] Speaker 2: Yeah, it was really really great. So okay, holiday party
[11:12] Speaker 2: if he's throwing it.
[11:13] Speaker 1: Okay, Riah Carey or Michael bob Rya Carrey, Ri Carrey
[11:17] Speaker 1: home alone or alf home alone. Wrapping paper or gift bags, wrapping,
[11:24] Speaker 1: wrapping paper, gift bags for big bag weird No, I
[11:28] Speaker 1: am wind gift bags for weirdly shaped things. Like, we
[11:31] Speaker 1: have a lot of stuffies now that we wrap and
[11:33] Speaker 1: I'm like, just put it in a gift bag. Gingerbread
[11:36] Speaker 1: cookies or sugar cookies. Oh, sugar cook cookies, the Nutcracker
[11:43] Speaker 1: or the Rockets. I've never seen the rockets so much fun.
[11:47] Speaker 1: You should go see them.
[11:47] Speaker 2: I'm saying they do like they do like forty.
[11:49] Speaker 1: Shows a week. Kevin, you think you have a lot
[11:51] Speaker 1: of shows? Oh god, Rockefeller Tree or Brian Park, Winter Village,
[11:57] Speaker 1: Rockefeller Tree.
[11:58] Speaker 2: I've never been to Brian Park.
[11:59] Speaker 1: Oh you got to go there too. Now, okay, we
[12:02] Speaker 1: have a lot of things you have to do, ski
[12:05] Speaker 1: trip or beach vacation. Yeah, secret Sanna or white elephant.
[12:11] Speaker 1: What's the difference, secret Sannah is that's right? That's right?
[12:17] Speaker 2: Elephant elephant?
[12:18] Speaker 1: Yeah, we used to do that. Yeah. Pumpkin spice or
[12:22] Speaker 1: ginger bread spice neither both. Cozy robe or fuzzy socks.
[12:32] Speaker 1: Two more Christmas karaoke or Christmas caroling.
[12:38] Speaker 2: Interesting.
[12:39] Speaker 1: I'd like to see Christmas carolers. I like how they
[12:42] Speaker 1: dress up and they sing Christmas karaoke exactly, give gifts
[12:48] Speaker 1: early or make everyone wait?
[12:50] Speaker 2: Make everyone wait? Yeah?
[12:52] Speaker 1: Always? Well, Happy holidays everybody.
[12:56] Speaker 2: Oh, happy holidays. Stay warm or cold depending where you are.
