The adverts are not chosen by us, but played automatically depending on the platform you listen through (Apple Podcasts, Spotify, etc) and the country you live in. The adverts may even be different if you listen to the story twice. We have had a handful of instances where an advert has played that is not suitable for a family audience, despite the podcast clearly being labelled for children. If you’re concerned about an advert you hear, please contact the platform you are listening to directly. Spotify, in particular, has proven problematic in the past, for both inappropriate adverts and the volume at which the adverts play. If you find this happening, please let Spotify know via their Facebook customer care page. As creators, we want your child’s experience to be a pleasurable one. Running adverts is necessary to allow us to operate, but please do consider the premium subscription service as an alternative – it’s advert free.

[0:00] Speaker 1: Hello, and welcome to a special taster of our new
[0:03] Speaker 1: premium only story. We hope you like it. Hello yo, Hello,
[0:23] Speaker 1: I'm Josephine and this is the Animal Tales podcast, home
[0:27] Speaker 1: to over four hundred and fifty stories written just for you.
[0:31] Speaker 1: Our Friday story is especially for our Premium subscribers only.
[0:36] Speaker 1: Noah May and Annie Nell are Premium members from southern Drakensburg,
[0:41] Speaker 1: South Africa, and they would like a story with a
[0:44] Speaker 1: pangolin and a bush baby. Don't forget to listen to
[0:48] Speaker 1: the animal facts after the story to learn more about
[0:51] Speaker 1: these creatures. For now, it's time to sit back and
[0:54] Speaker 1: get comfy, because it's time to begin weighing. Scale hullo,
[1:02] Speaker 1: said the nervous pangolin to the panda behind the table.
[1:06] Speaker 1: She was in the community center, stood just inside one
[1:10] Speaker 1: of the halls rented out to groups, clubs, and organizations
[1:14] Speaker 1: for their meetings. Good evening, said the panda brightly. You're
[1:20] Speaker 1: a new face. Have you come to join Slim Jim's.
[1:24] Speaker 1: The pangolin nodded yes, please, She said. I have to say,
[1:30] Speaker 1: you don't really look as if you need to lose
[1:32] Speaker 1: any weight, pointed out the panda. Are you sure you're
[1:36] Speaker 1: at the right place. Oh, yes, nodded the pangolin. I'm
[1:41] Speaker 1: really more interested in learning to eat healthily. Ah I see,
[1:47] Speaker 1: replied the panda happily. She wore a name badge that
[1:51] Speaker 1: said Claudette, hanging from a lanyard around her neck. We've
[1:55] Speaker 1: got all sorts of good advice for healthy eating here
[1:58] Speaker 1: at Slim Jim's before we begin the meeting. I'll just
[2:02] Speaker 1: need a few details from you. Name no A Mae pangolin,
[2:08] Speaker 1: said the pangolin, address, asked Claudette as she finished typing
[2:13] Speaker 1: no A May's name into her laptop thirty three Hineville Heights,
[2:19] Speaker 1: Baabab Park, rain Forest City. Replied Noah May. And you're
[2:25] Speaker 1: clearly a lizard, so that's typed inn as well. We're
[2:28] Speaker 1: all done, smiled the panda. I beg your pardon, said
[2:33] Speaker 1: Noah May, thinking she'd misheard. We're all done, repeated Claudette.
[2:39] Speaker 1: We can get the meeting started. Now come and meet
[2:42] Speaker 1: the others. No, wait, the other thing you mentioned, Noa May,
[2:48] Speaker 1: said the lizard. Bit Yes, that's right, I've noted down
[2:53] Speaker 1: that you're a lizard, confirmed Claudette. Different kinds of animals
[2:57] Speaker 1: have different kinds of metabolisms. That just means that they
[3:01] Speaker 1: burn energy differently. So by me keeping a note of it,
[3:05] Speaker 1: I can keep a closer eye on how you're progressing,
[3:10] Speaker 1: I understand, said Noah May awkwardly. But you see, I'm
[3:15] Speaker 1: not a lizard. Of course, you're a lizard, laughed Claudette
[3:20] Speaker 1: as she closed her laptop. You're covered in scales. Yes, yes,
[3:26] Speaker 1: they are scales, agreed Noah May. But I'm not a lizard.
[3:32] Speaker 1: You're not suggesting that you're a funny looking crocodile, are you,
[3:36] Speaker 1: asked the panda suspiciously. No, of course not. Noah May
[3:42] Speaker 1: said she didn't want to create a fuss, but she
[3:46] Speaker 1: felt that it was important that all her details were
[3:48] Speaker 1: recorded correctly. I'm a mammal. Ha ha, very good, laughed
[3:55] Speaker 1: the panda. I can see you're going to be something
[3:58] Speaker 1: of a joker, but I really am a mammal, insisted
[4:03] Speaker 1: the pangolin. Honestly, listen, said the panda, suddenly serious. I
[4:12] Speaker 1: like a laugh as much as the next animal. But
[4:14] Speaker 1: if I can just request that you don't make a
[4:17] Speaker 1: habit of joking around during the sessions, I find that
[4:20] Speaker 1: sort of thing can be a real time waster. Now,
[4:24] Speaker 1: if you don't mind heading over to that empty chair,
[4:27] Speaker 1: we can get started. Norah May didn't know what else
[4:31] Speaker 1: to say. The panda just wasn't listening to her. She
[4:36] Speaker 1: decided to accept defeat for now and hope that the
[4:39] Speaker 1: opportunity arose later to get it sorted. As the pangolin
[4:44] Speaker 1: headed towards the circle of chairs, the panda looked up
[4:48] Speaker 1: to see another arrival. Am I too late, panted a
[4:53] Speaker 1: wide eyed bush baby bursting through the door. Ah smiled,
[4:58] Speaker 1: the panda, opening her laptop up again. Another newbie here
[5:04] Speaker 1: to join slim jims. That's right, confirmed the bush baby.
[5:09] Speaker 1: The name's Annie Nell bush Baby. Oh I'm sorry, said
[5:15] Speaker 1: the panda, closing the laptop again. This group is only
[5:19] Speaker 1: for adults. Children are not allowed. I'm not a child,
[5:25] Speaker 1: said Annie Nell. I'm all grown up, but you just
[5:30] Speaker 1: said you were a baby, scoffed the panda. If you'd
[5:34] Speaker 1: like to hear more, please join our premium service. You
[5:37] Speaker 1: can find out how in the description. The premium service
[5:42] Speaker 1: means you can listen to all animal tale stories advert free,
[5:46] Speaker 1: get bonus stories, and we guarantee to turn your animal
[5:49] Speaker 1: suggestion into a future tale. I look forward to seeing
[5:53] Speaker 1: you there.
