The adverts are not chosen by us, but played automatically depending on the platform you listen through (Apple Podcasts, Spotify, etc) and the country you live in. The adverts may even be different if you listen to the story twice. We have had a handful of instances where an advert has played that is not suitable for a family audience, despite the podcast clearly being labelled for children. If you’re concerned about an advert you hear, please contact the platform you are listening to directly. Spotify, in particular, has proven problematic in the past, for both inappropriate adverts and the volume at which the adverts play. If you find this happening, please let Spotify know via their Facebook customer care page. As creators, we want your child’s experience to be a pleasurable one. Running adverts is necessary to allow us to operate, but please do consider the premium subscription service as an alternative – it’s advert free.

[0:00] Speaker 1: Hello, and welcome to a special taster of our new
[0:03] Speaker 1: premium only story. We hope you like it. Hey YAlO, Hello,
[0:23] Speaker 1: I'm Josephine and this is the Animal Tales podcast. There
[0:27] Speaker 1: are over one hundred extra stories on our premium service,
[0:31] Speaker 1: with a new one released every Friday, and this is
[0:34] Speaker 1: another one. Matteo is a premium member from Seattle, USA,
[0:40] Speaker 1: and he would like a story with a Tupacarborough, a jeboah,
[0:44] Speaker 1: a bluga whale, and a banana slug. Don't forget to
[0:49] Speaker 1: listen to the animal facts after the story to learn
[0:52] Speaker 1: more about these creatures. If you'd like to suggest an
[0:56] Speaker 1: animal for a story, then please do let us know
[0:59] Speaker 1: at podcasts at Animaltales dot UK. As premium listeners, we
[1:04] Speaker 1: guarantee to write one for you. For now, it's time
[1:08] Speaker 1: to sit back and get comfy, because it's time to
[1:10] Speaker 1: begin the topa Carborough's wishes. As the morning sun rose
[1:18] Speaker 1: over the hills, a lone Tuopercarborough sat watching the stars
[1:22] Speaker 1: fade away. Down below in the fields, a herd of
[1:26] Speaker 1: sheep sat clumped together, never wandering too far from each other. Nearby,
[1:33] Speaker 1: on a branch, two doves were cooing and cuddling up
[1:36] Speaker 1: close and by the tree line, a herd of deer
[1:40] Speaker 1: emerged from the forest together. Everyone, it seemed, had someone friends, family,
[1:47] Speaker 1: or a loved one, all except the Cooper Carborough. Matteo, though,
[1:54] Speaker 1: was used to being alone. He didn't even know any
[1:57] Speaker 1: other Tupacarborough's, so there was nobody to share his experiences with.
[2:03] Speaker 1: He had tried talking to other animals, but he was
[2:06] Speaker 1: just too awkward and shy, so instead Matteo spent his
[2:11] Speaker 1: days alone. Now that the sun had risen, the Tupicabra
[2:16] Speaker 1: went on his way. His feet carried him towards the
[2:20] Speaker 1: Rocky Plains, one of his favorite places. He could bask
[2:25] Speaker 1: in the sun or hide in a cave, and there
[2:28] Speaker 1: were fewer animals there to remind him of how lonely
[2:31] Speaker 1: he was. By the time he got there, the day
[2:35] Speaker 1: was hot, so Matteo looked for shelter. He found a
[2:39] Speaker 1: nice little cave, settling down in the shade to nap,
[2:44] Speaker 1: but as he settled, one of his paws bumped against
[2:47] Speaker 1: something cold and hard. It was a glass bottle with
[2:52] Speaker 1: a cork in the top. Matteo was about to push
[2:56] Speaker 1: it to one side when he noticed that something within,
[2:59] Speaker 1: it was thinking at him. There was a creature inside
[3:04] Speaker 1: the bottle, holding the bottle in his paws. The tupa
[3:08] Speaker 1: Carbra grasped the cork in his teeth and pulled as
[3:12] Speaker 1: hard as he could. At first, the cork refused to budge,
[3:17] Speaker 1: Then quite suddenly it came out with a satisfying pop.
[3:23] Speaker 1: A thick purple cloud erupted from the bottle's opening until
[3:27] Speaker 1: seconds later Matteo found himself staring at a small purple genie,
[3:33] Speaker 1: trailing smoke wherever he moved. Kind tupa Carbra, said the genie,
[3:39] Speaker 1: bowing low. I've been stuck in that bottle for many
[3:43] Speaker 1: many moons. Thank you for freeing me er. You're welcome,
[3:50] Speaker 1: said Matteo, still visibly amazed. I'm glad I could help,
[3:56] Speaker 1: as am, I said the genie, And as thanks, I
[4:01] Speaker 1: would like to grant you three wishes. Three, said Matteo
[4:06] Speaker 1: in surprise. You hadn't been expecting that. That's awfully generous.
[4:13] Speaker 1: It's the least I can do. The genie replied, Now,
[4:17] Speaker 1: what would you like to wish? For? Gold? Fame, a
[4:22] Speaker 1: beautiful place to live? No, I don't need any of that,
[4:27] Speaker 1: said Matteo, with a shake of his head. Would you
[4:30] Speaker 1: mind if I thought about it? Not at all? The
[4:34] Speaker 1: genie replied, Let's take a walk while you do that.
[4:39] Speaker 1: It's been a long time since I saw beyond this cave.
[4:43] Speaker 1: Matteo agreed. They emerged from the cave as the genie
[4:48] Speaker 1: increased in size, then produced a large sun umbrella, which
[4:52] Speaker 1: he held over them both. This way, I think, said
[4:57] Speaker 1: the genie, picking a direction at random. As they walked,
[5:02] Speaker 1: Matteo thought hard about what he could wish for. If
[5:05] Speaker 1: you'd like to hear more, please join our premium service.
[5:09] Speaker 1: You can find out how in the description. The premium
[5:13] Speaker 1: service means. You can listen to all animal tales stories
[5:16] Speaker 1: advert free, get bonus stories, and we guarantee to turn
[5:21] Speaker 1: your animal suggestion into a future tale. I look forward
[5:25] Speaker 1: to seeing you there.
