The adverts are not chosen by us, but played automatically depending on the platform you listen through (Apple Podcasts, Spotify, etc) and the country you live in. The adverts may even be different if you listen to the story twice. We have had a handful of instances where an advert has played that is not suitable for a family audience, despite the podcast clearly being labelled for children. If you’re concerned about an advert you hear, please contact the platform you are listening to directly. Spotify, in particular, has proven problematic in the past, for both inappropriate adverts and the volume at which the adverts play. If you find this happening, please let Spotify know via their Facebook customer care page. As creators, we want your child’s experience to be a pleasurable one. Running adverts is necessary to allow us to operate, but please do consider the premium subscription service as an alternative – it’s advert free.

[0:00] Speaker 1: Hello, and welcome to a special taster of our new
[0:03] Speaker 1: premium only story. We hope you like it. Hey yo, Hello,
[0:23] Speaker 1: I'm Josephine and this is the Animal Tales podcast. There
[0:27] Speaker 1: are over one hundred extra stories just for our premium subscribers,
[0:32] Speaker 1: with a new one released every Friday, and this is
[0:35] Speaker 1: another one. Sydney is a Premium member from San Diego,
[0:40] Speaker 1: U s A. And she would like a story with
[0:42] Speaker 1: an orca, a dolphin, a giant squid, and a hammer
[0:46] Speaker 1: head shark. Don't forget to listen to the animal facts
[0:50] Speaker 1: after the story to learn more about some of these creatures.
[0:54] Speaker 1: For now, it's time to sit back and get comfy,
[0:57] Speaker 1: because it's time to begin plum job. Sydney found the
[1:04] Speaker 1: house quickly, pulling her van up outside the address by
[1:07] Speaker 1: the curb. The street was made up of identical houses,
[1:12] Speaker 1: and the one she needed had a bright blue door
[1:15] Speaker 1: with a sea shell shaped door knocker. Sydney grabbed her
[1:19] Speaker 1: case of tools from the seat beside her and was
[1:22] Speaker 1: soon giving the seashell several sharp raps to let the
[1:26] Speaker 1: home owners know that she'd arrived. The door, though didn't open.
[1:32] Speaker 1: Um hullo, said a voice on the other side good morning,
[1:37] Speaker 1: said Sydney. It's Sydney the plumber. You called about a leak.
[1:43] Speaker 1: Sydney expected the door to be opened at this point,
[1:46] Speaker 1: but strangely, it remained firmly shut. Yes, that was me,
[1:52] Speaker 1: said the voice. Well, ler, are you going to let
[1:56] Speaker 1: me in, then, asked Sydney, so I can take a
[1:59] Speaker 1: look at it it can't you do it from out there,
[2:03] Speaker 1: asked the voice. Not really, answered Sydney. Honestly, this was
[2:10] Speaker 1: almost unusual. I really do need to come in if
[2:14] Speaker 1: I'm going to help you. But we don't normally have visitors,
[2:19] Speaker 1: said the voice, sounding worried. Look, I don't want to
[2:24] Speaker 1: be any bother. Why don't I go and you give
[2:26] Speaker 1: me another call when you're good and ready, said Sydney,
[2:30] Speaker 1: turning to leave. No wait, said the voice urgently, as
[2:35] Speaker 1: bolts were hurriedly pulled back, I really need the leak
[2:39] Speaker 1: dealing with. The door opened to reveal a dolphin stood
[2:45] Speaker 1: up on its tail. This, to be fair, wasn't what
[2:49] Speaker 1: Sydney was expecting. She'd met many an animal in someone's
[2:53] Speaker 1: house before, but they tended to be a dog, a cat,
[2:57] Speaker 1: or a hamster. Not once she ever encountered a dolphin
[3:03] Speaker 1: come in, said the dolphin, hopping behind the door to
[3:06] Speaker 1: let Sydney pass, and perhaps to hide herself from any
[3:10] Speaker 1: one passing in the street. As a plumber, Sydney had
[3:15] Speaker 1: long ago learned not to be surprised by what she
[3:18] Speaker 1: found in people's houses behind closed doors. People could be
[3:23] Speaker 1: very messy, ultra clean, or have very strange ideas when
[3:28] Speaker 1: it came to decorating. She had trained herself to ignore
[3:32] Speaker 1: all of that and to get on with the problem
[3:35] Speaker 1: that needed solving, which was why, despite finding herself talking
[3:40] Speaker 1: to a dolphin, she did her very best to remain
[3:43] Speaker 1: as helpful and professional as possible. You mentioned a leak,
[3:48] Speaker 1: she said, yes, Come with me, said the dolphin, hopping
[3:54] Speaker 1: up the stairs. They entered a bedroom with wave pat
[3:57] Speaker 1: and wallpaper. This is it, the dolphin said. Sydney looked
[4:03] Speaker 1: around the room but couldn't see a sign of water
[4:07] Speaker 1: damage anywhere. I can't see a leak that needs fixing,
[4:11] Speaker 1: she said, Oh no, no, no, chuckled the dolphin with embarrassment.
[4:18] Speaker 1: I don't want you to fix a leak. I want
[4:21] Speaker 1: you to make one over the bed if possible. I
[4:25] Speaker 1: do beg your pardon, said Sydney, trying to understand what
[4:30] Speaker 1: she was hearing. You want me to create a water leak.
[4:35] Speaker 1: That's right, said the dolphin. Put a hole in a
[4:39] Speaker 1: pipe or something. Can you do that? But your bed
[4:43] Speaker 1: would get all wet, pointed out Sydney. That's right, nodded
[4:48] Speaker 1: the dolphin. You've got it. It's all very well being
[4:52] Speaker 1: a sea mammal living on the land, but it does
[4:55] Speaker 1: tend to be a bit dry. Having a soggy bed
[4:58] Speaker 1: would help me no end. If you'd like to hear more,
[5:02] Speaker 1: please join our premium service. You can find out how
[5:05] Speaker 1: in the description. The premium service means you can listen
[5:10] Speaker 1: to all animal tales stories advert free, get bonus stories,
[5:14] Speaker 1: and we guarantee to turn your animal suggestion into a
[5:17] Speaker 1: future tale. I look forward to seeing you there.
