The adverts are not chosen by us, but played automatically depending on the platform you listen through (Apple Podcasts, Spotify, etc) and the country you live in. The adverts may even be different if you listen to the story twice. We have had a handful of instances where an advert has played that is not suitable for a family audience, despite the podcast clearly being labelled for children. If you’re concerned about an advert you hear, please contact the platform you are listening to directly. Spotify, in particular, has proven problematic in the past, for both inappropriate adverts and the volume at which the adverts play. If you find this happening, please let Spotify know via their Facebook customer care page. As creators, we want your child’s experience to be a pleasurable one. Running adverts is necessary to allow us to operate, but please do consider the premium subscription service as an alternative – it’s advert free.

[0:40] Speaker 1: she would like a story with a cat, a unicorn
[0:44] Speaker 1: and a mermaid. Don't forget to listen to the animal

[0:52] Speaker 1: If you'd like to suggest an animal for a story,

[0:58] Speaker 1: dot UK. As premium listeners, we guarantee to write one
[1:03] Speaker 1: for you. For now, it's time to sit back and
[1:07] Speaker 1: get comfy, because it's time to begin the Sleeping Kingdom.
[1:16] Speaker 1: Once upon a time, Princess Isabel woke up to a
[1:20] Speaker 1: very quiet castle. This was extremely odd. Usually mornings in
[1:27] Speaker 1: the castle would be loud and busy, but all Isabel
[1:31] Speaker 1: could hear was the faint whistle of the wind. She
[1:35] Speaker 1: couldn't hear any people bustling about in the hallways or
[1:39] Speaker 1: calling to each other in the courtyard. There were no
[1:42] Speaker 1: pattering feet. There was no humming or singing, nor the
[1:47] Speaker 1: sounds of carts trundling by. Everything was strangely, worryingly quiet.
[1:55] Speaker 1: Stranger still, her window was covered in leafy vines, blocking
[2:00] Speaker 1: the view. Pulling on her favorite dress, Princess Isabel decided
[2:07] Speaker 1: to leave her room to investigate. She soon found more
[2:11] Speaker 1: of the vines, looping through windows and curling around pillars
[2:15] Speaker 1: and door frames. Green tendril snaked down and around stairways,
[2:21] Speaker 1: across hallways, and over ceilings. Wherever the vine sat in
[2:27] Speaker 1: the shade, pink blooms flowered. But where were the people
[2:34] Speaker 1: creeping through the castle? Princess Isabel grew more and more concerned.
[2:39] Speaker 1: There wasn't a soul anywhere where had everyone gone? Stepping
[2:46] Speaker 1: over a particularly thick vine, Isabel entered the Great Hall
[2:51] Speaker 1: and was relieved to hear snoring That meant that someone
[2:55] Speaker 1: was here. It was one of the palace guards, Sir Gregor,
[3:00] Speaker 1: snoring softly beside the throne. He was surrounded by the
[3:05] Speaker 1: vines and their pink flowers. Sir Gregory, Princess Isabel said, gently,
[3:12] Speaker 1: rocking the guard's shoulder, but Sir Gregory only snored louder
[3:19] Speaker 1: At this point she was the closest she'd been to
[3:22] Speaker 1: the pink petals. Curious, she leaned closer to the nearest flower,
[3:28] Speaker 1: detecting a sickly sweet smell. The flower seemed to open further,
[3:34] Speaker 1: with pollen sparkling in the air as she bent over
[3:37] Speaker 1: to sniff the beautiful bloom. Don't do that, shouted a
[3:42] Speaker 1: warning voice. So surprised was Isabel that she jolted backwards,
[3:47] Speaker 1: her head clearing almost immediately. She hadn't realized quite how
[3:52] Speaker 1: sleepy she'd been feeling just the moment before. The voice,
[3:58] Speaker 1: she realized had come from Gracie, her black and white cat.
[4:03] Speaker 1: Whatever you do, don't sniff the flowers, warned Gracie firmly.
[4:09] Speaker 1: You didn't sniff them, did you, almost admitted Princess Isabel. Well,
[4:16] Speaker 1: it looks as if you didn't breathe too much in,
[4:19] Speaker 1: Gracee said, looking satisfied. I arrived just in time. What's
[4:26] Speaker 1: going on, Isabel asked? Where is every one sleeping? The
[4:33] Speaker 1: cat stated, They all sniffed the flowers then boom straight
[4:39] Speaker 1: to dreamland. But can't we wake them up? Isabel asked,
[4:46] Speaker 1: I've tried. The cat replied, nothing works. Clearly the vine
[4:52] Speaker 1: is the problem, suggested Isabel. Maybe we can learn more
[4:57] Speaker 1: by finding out where it's come from. That's a good idea,
[5:02] Speaker 1: said Gracie. We should go together. If you'd like to
[5:06] Speaker 1: hear more, please join our premium service. You can find
[5:09] Speaker 1: out how in the description. The premium service means you
[5:14] Speaker 1: can listen to all animal tales stories advert free, get
[5:18] Speaker 1: bonus stories, and we guarantee to turn your animal suggestion
[5:22] Speaker 1: into a future tale. I look forward to seeing you there.
