The adverts are not chosen by us, but played automatically depending on the platform you listen through (Apple Podcasts, Spotify, etc) and the country you live in. The adverts may even be different if you listen to the story twice. We have had a handful of instances where an advert has played that is not suitable for a family audience, despite the podcast clearly being labelled for children. If you’re concerned about an advert you hear, please contact the platform you are listening to directly. Spotify, in particular, has proven problematic in the past, for both inappropriate adverts and the volume at which the adverts play. If you find this happening, please let Spotify know via their Facebook customer care page. As creators, we want your child’s experience to be a pleasurable one. Running adverts is necessary to allow us to operate, but please do consider the premium subscription service as an alternative – it’s advert free.

[0:00] Speaker 1: Hello, and welcome to a special taster of our new
[0:03] Speaker 1: premium only story. We hope you like it. He yo, Hello,
[0:22] Speaker 1: I'm Josephine and this is the Animal Tales podcast, home
[0:26] Speaker 1: to over four hundred stories written just for you. Our
[0:30] Speaker 1: Friday story is especially for our Premium subscribers only. Alexander
[0:36] Speaker 1: is a Premium member from Bath in the UK and
[0:39] Speaker 1: he would like a story with a panda and a
[0:42] Speaker 1: red panda. Don't forget to listen to the animal facts
[0:45] Speaker 1: after the story to learn more about these creatures. For now,
[0:50] Speaker 1: it's time to sit back and get comfy, because it's
[0:52] Speaker 1: time to begin Panda's Perfect Picture Day. It was photo
[1:00] Speaker 1: day at Alexander's school. He'd not even left for school yet,
[1:05] Speaker 1: and yet his mum was quite worn out with getting
[1:07] Speaker 1: him ready. The little panda had been washed, dried, and
[1:12] Speaker 1: had his fur brushed. His school uniform was pristine and clean,
[1:17] Speaker 1: with not a wrinkle in sight. What's more, he'd been
[1:21] Speaker 1: given clear instructions, be careful, stay clean, do your best
[1:27] Speaker 1: to make sure the photo looks as perfect as possible.
[1:32] Speaker 1: With those words ringing in his ears, Alexander headed off
[1:36] Speaker 1: to school. It had rained the night before leaving plenty
[1:40] Speaker 1: of large puddles. This meant he had to be careful
[1:44] Speaker 1: of the splashes made by passing cars and avoid the
[1:47] Speaker 1: temptation of jumping in any puddles himself, even when he
[1:52] Speaker 1: really wanted to. By the time he reached his school,
[1:56] Speaker 1: the little panda was both clean and very proud of himself.
[2:01] Speaker 1: Are you excited to get your photo taken, Alexander's best friend,
[2:05] Speaker 1: THEO asked. While Alexander was black and white, THEO was
[2:11] Speaker 1: a red panda. Today he was looking spotless, his long
[2:15] Speaker 1: tail looking extra fluffy. I'm super excited, Alexander agreed. My
[2:23] Speaker 1: mum wants the photo to be as perfect as possible.
[2:26] Speaker 1: She wants to hang it on the wall. I really
[2:29] Speaker 1: don't want to disappoint her, so I'm going to make
[2:32] Speaker 1: sure I stay clean and tidy all day. THEO laughed,
[2:37] Speaker 1: then stopped when he realized Alexander was being serious. But Alexander,
[2:45] Speaker 1: THEO said, hesitantly, we're children, and children, well, we can
[2:51] Speaker 1: be clumsy and messy and not at all tidy. Don't
[2:55] Speaker 1: you remember when you came to my house for dinner,
[2:58] Speaker 1: you got pasta sauce all over yourself, the dining table
[3:02] Speaker 1: and halfway up the wall. It was just an unlucky accident.
[3:07] Speaker 1: Alexander replied. Well, how about when we went out in
[3:12] Speaker 1: my dad's boat and you fell in the river. THEO continued,
[3:17] Speaker 1: We only just got you back in the boat when
[3:20] Speaker 1: you fell over the opposite side. It was slippery, Alexander mumbled.
[3:27] Speaker 1: And then there was the school bake sale, THEO continued,
[3:33] Speaker 1: You managed to step in a pie, sit on a cake,
[3:36] Speaker 1: and fall face first in a basket of muffins. Oh yeah,
[3:42] Speaker 1: Alexander sighed, I'd forgotten about the muffins. But even though
[3:48] Speaker 1: I might be clumsy at times, I've promised my mum
[3:52] Speaker 1: that this photo will be as perfect as possible. I
[3:55] Speaker 1: intend to keep that promise. Well, all right, THEO shrugged.
[4:02] Speaker 1: Good luck. They took their seats just as their teacher,
[4:07] Speaker 1: missus Honeypot, entered the room. Good morning, class, the grisly
[4:12] Speaker 1: bear said warmly. How lovely to see you all looking
[4:16] Speaker 1: so smart for your photos to day. Miss Honeypot asked Alexander.
[4:23] Speaker 1: Will it be our turn soon? Oh no, smiled the teacher.
[4:29] Speaker 1: Our class won't be photographed until after lunch. I'll be
[4:33] Speaker 1: collecting you all straight from the lunch hall. The whole
[4:37] Speaker 1: class let out a groan. Every one was looking forward
[4:41] Speaker 1: to the experience and just couldn't wait. However, missus Honeypot continued,
[4:48] Speaker 1: while we wait our turn, I thought we could have
[4:51] Speaker 1: a little fun. She strode over to the art cupboard
[4:55] Speaker 1: and flung it open. Who wants to do some painting?
[5:00] Speaker 1: The class cheered as she began handing out paper, brushes
[5:04] Speaker 1: and paint If you'd like to hear more, please join
[5:07] Speaker 1: our premium service. You can find out how in the description.
[5:13] Speaker 1: The premium service means. You can listen to all animal
[5:16] Speaker 1: tales stories advert free, get bonus stories, and we guarantee
[5:20] Speaker 1: to turn your animal suggestion into a future tale. I
[5:24] Speaker 1: look forward to seeing you there.
