[0:00] Speaker 1: Who was the big shift for you, like, because at
[0:01] Speaker 1: some point you decided let me take this seriously and
[0:04] Speaker 1: took it into your own hands.
[0:05] Speaker 2: No, yeah, it was it was me getting fired and
[0:07] Speaker 2: me just my homegirl were on a couch one day.
[0:09] Speaker 2: She was like, girl, you should go outside and find
[0:11] Speaker 2: yourself in the street. And I was like, girl, what
[0:13] Speaker 2: do you mean? And my cousin was like, but everybody's
[0:15] Speaker 2: getting you know, viral, famous office app call Instagram, get
[0:18] Speaker 2: on there. And then from there that's when I was
[0:21] Speaker 2: on Bader alert, hollering them like fighting myself on the street.
[0:23] Speaker 2: Then they put the Pokemon I mean, and I'm like
[0:25] Speaker 2: fighting a Pokemon Like that was twenty seventeen.
[0:28] Speaker 1: I'm like, what, wow, that long ago.
[0:30] Speaker 2: So from there, I got my first brand ambassador, you know,
[0:33] Speaker 2: with the hair company, but I was still short off
[0:35] Speaker 2: my rent, you know, I was still trying to figure out,
[0:37] Speaker 2: like what do I do? So doing that and had
[0:40] Speaker 2: to go to work at film Field Marriott. So and
[0:43] Speaker 2: after that I got fired from that job. So I
[0:45] Speaker 2: just kept getting fired everywhere. I was just like because
[0:48] Speaker 2: I would this is not what I wanted to do.
[0:49] Speaker 2: I didn't want to work for nobody. I just knew
[0:52] Speaker 2: that what mom my mom said and what I feel
[0:54] Speaker 2: in my spirit is gonna happen.
[1:00] Speaker 1: Thanks for watching, guys. Today's episode is brought to you
[1:03] Speaker 1: by Boost Mobile. MM pretty Vere is my guest.
[1:08] Speaker 3: Everybody hard Mama, Hello, I'm so happy you came.
[1:24] Speaker 2: Yes, I took math busses again, the Greathound spirit.
[1:30] Speaker 1: I'm so happy to meet you finally in person. You know,
[1:32] Speaker 1: I'm so honored, you know what I mean.
[1:33] Speaker 2: I told you off camera that I love you so
[1:36] Speaker 2: much and just what you've done for the culture is
[1:38] Speaker 2: just timeless.
[1:40] Speaker 1: It doesn't go un notice. You know, you just made it.
[1:43] Speaker 2: You made the door open for all of us just
[1:44] Speaker 2: to walk in, you know, and from radio, everything else happens.
[1:48] Speaker 2: You know, TV comes, you know, brand deals come, but
[1:51] Speaker 2: you really set yourself up that you are still the
[1:54] Speaker 2: talk of the town. You know, it's like, what are
[1:56] Speaker 2: you talking about? So yeah, I'm honored.
[1:57] Speaker 1: That's so sweet. Thank you. And a fan of your work,
[2:01] Speaker 1: I think you're so funny and talented. But then also
[2:03] Speaker 1: when I had I had Coiler Ray on the pod
[2:05] Speaker 1: and she was telling me about your mom and how
[2:07] Speaker 1: your mom has been so great to her and inspire her,
[2:10] Speaker 1: and that you also have been like somebody that you know,
[2:14] Speaker 1: you send her things and support her, and I was like, devotional,
[2:18] Speaker 1: Now I really really want to get to know her better.
[2:21] Speaker 1: And then somebody else too, Tierra Wack. Did you have
[2:24] Speaker 1: some connections but you don't know her? Right? You met
[2:26] Speaker 1: her today?
[2:26] Speaker 2: I know her like that, but like I just send
[2:29] Speaker 2: her devotions in the morning, like I'm such a spiritual bunny.
[2:32] Speaker 2: So like, girl, whatever you got going on, read this,
[2:34] Speaker 2: read this devotion.
[2:35] Speaker 1: I never got a devotion.
[2:36] Speaker 2: I feel sad.
[2:37] Speaker 1: I feel out the loop.
[2:38] Speaker 2: Like now we got to number that. Now I'm gonna
[2:41] Speaker 2: be just dropping dropping gems every day.
[2:43] Speaker 1: What does that mean to be on Pretty V's devotion list?
[2:47] Speaker 1: What do you get? And what moves you to share?
[2:49] Speaker 1: What I mean?
[2:50] Speaker 2: For me? I believe in God. So one thing about it.
[2:53] Speaker 2: If I have something that I'm reading every morning and
[2:55] Speaker 2: I'm and I'm I have something that's gonna push me
[2:58] Speaker 2: to share it? Why not? And I do that every morning?
[3:01] Speaker 2: Like Charlemagne Boosy, I'm like, Boosy, you don't cut up
[3:04] Speaker 2: on shave room today, bab you need some scriptures And
[3:06] Speaker 2: Y're like, you know, Boosy, Charlemagne Cat Williams, Like, I'm
[3:10] Speaker 2: just sending it out to all my people's, you know,
[3:12] Speaker 2: be someone Deasy's Funny, Marco DC, Young Fly, the list
[3:16] Speaker 2: goes on.
[3:16] Speaker 1: So I want to know learn about all of that
[3:18] Speaker 1: today from you. But first of all, congratulations to you,
[3:21] Speaker 1: because what I love about you is I feel like
[3:24] Speaker 1: you built you. Yeah, like I mean God built you,
[3:27] Speaker 1: y of course, but I mean you really have taken
[3:29] Speaker 1: like your funny. Did you always know you wanted to
[3:32] Speaker 1: do this? Like where did this even come from? And
[3:34] Speaker 1: how did you? Yeah, I create this business in this
[3:37] Speaker 1: career that you have.
[3:38] Speaker 2: Yeah, I've always wanted to be in the entertainment industry,
[3:41] Speaker 2: but radio was my passion. I went to school all
[3:44] Speaker 2: four years for communications, and then I had my own
[3:46] Speaker 2: radio show call Lounge twenty two where we played the
[3:48] Speaker 2: sexty and Smooth R and B from the eighties, Nineteenth Day,
[3:51] Speaker 2: We did all of that O and then after that
[3:55] Speaker 2: life began. You know, I got out of college. I
[3:58] Speaker 2: had no connection to radios. You know, I was working
[4:01] Speaker 2: in programming interning right after college. Thought I was gonna
[4:04] Speaker 2: be that girl leaving school, end up being depressed, end
[4:08] Speaker 2: up having nervousness, end up in my head, like, oh
[4:10] Speaker 2: my god, what i'm'na do?
[4:11] Speaker 1: You know.
[4:11] Speaker 2: My mom's a pastor, so she's like, you know, God
[4:13] Speaker 2: said you're gonna be in an art. So I'm like,
[4:14] Speaker 2: when you gonna when you're gonna show me what arts?
[4:17] Speaker 2: You know?
[4:17] Speaker 1: Yeah?
[4:17] Speaker 2: And I was like, you know, i'm'a figure this out.
[4:20] Speaker 2: I'm gonna do comedy. God just telling me to move
[4:22] Speaker 2: and have faith and do it. And I did that
[4:25] Speaker 2: and I'll try to figure it all out. And I
[4:27] Speaker 2: worked at fail for Marriott, I worked at Dollar Trees.
[4:30] Speaker 2: I worked at all the trees, not.
[4:31] Speaker 1: The Dollar Tree, no Dollar Try, all.
[4:34] Speaker 2: Over the place. And then after that, I w I
[4:36] Speaker 2: kept hearing music in this building and I was where
[4:38] Speaker 2: I was working at and I was like, who's playing
[4:40] Speaker 2: this music? And come to find out with South Coast
[4:42] Speaker 2: Music Group and then they had Baby Jesus and then
[4:44] Speaker 2: I was his adamin. Now he's called the Baby, you know,
[4:47] Speaker 2: So I was assisting the baby at the time. Back
[4:49] Speaker 2: in twenty seventeen.
[4:51] Speaker 1: The Baby, Yeah had you as an assistant and you.
[4:54] Speaker 2: Were fresh out of college, well not fresh fresh, yeah,
[4:56] Speaker 2: like yeah, twenty seventeen.
[4:57] Speaker 1: Were you a good assistant?
[4:59] Speaker 2: I got fired?
[5:01] Speaker 1: What did you do that got you fired.
[5:03] Speaker 2: I wasn't focused on that job.
[5:06] Speaker 1: Like I don't give me assistant vibes. Yeah, Like I
[5:08] Speaker 1: wasn't focused. I mean with the glasses maybe a little bit,
[5:11] Speaker 1: but not really.
[5:12] Speaker 2: You know, I wasn't focused. And they knew that, you
[5:15] Speaker 2: know when I came in, Like this girl wants to
[5:18] Speaker 2: be a comedian, she wants to be in the entertainment
[5:20] Speaker 2: industry herself. But we're happy that she's here to help
[5:23] Speaker 2: us because I graduated already, so I had like little
[5:26] Speaker 2: college connections and the baby baby Jesus back then was
[5:30] Speaker 2: trying to get into the college room of things, and
[5:32] Speaker 2: I was helping him, you know, and still doing little
[5:36] Speaker 2: radio plays for you know, Arnold Taylor, and you know,
[5:39] Speaker 2: he was just like, you gonna have to slide off,
[5:41] Speaker 2: you know this thing where you have.
[5:43] Speaker 1: You seen the baby since.
[5:45] Speaker 2: All the time.
[5:46] Speaker 1: So it didn't end badly, No, they were just like,
[5:48] Speaker 1: you can't do this anymore. He didn't fire me, okay,
[5:51] Speaker 1: Arnold did.
[5:52] Speaker 2: Guy, just like we go ahead and focus on their
[5:54] Speaker 2: comedies and me and Arnold was like.
[5:56] Speaker 1: This, oh still I love Yeah.
[5:58] Speaker 2: We didn't have any bad yeah, And it was just
[6:00] Speaker 2: like he pushed me to my greatness. You know, he
[6:03] Speaker 2: was the one that says you gotta go. And from
[6:05] Speaker 2: there that's when the viral moments happened.
[6:08] Speaker 1: And then what was the big what was the what
[6:10] Speaker 1: was the big shift for you? Like cause at some
[6:12] Speaker 1: point you decided, let me take this seriously and took
[6:14] Speaker 1: it into your own hands.
[6:15] Speaker 2: So yeah, it was it was me getting fired and
[6:18] Speaker 2: me just my home. Girl was on a couch one day.
[6:20] Speaker 2: She was like, girl, you should go outside and fight
[6:21] Speaker 2: yourself in the street. And I was like, girl, what
[6:23] Speaker 2: do you mean? And my cousin was like, what everybody's getting,
[6:25] Speaker 2: you know, viral and famous office app called Instagram. Get
[6:28] Speaker 2: on there. And then from there, that's when I was
[6:31] Speaker 2: on Waller Alert Hollywood and like fighting myself on the street.
[6:33] Speaker 2: Then they put the Pokemon in me and then I'm
[6:35] Speaker 2: like fighting the Pokemon. Like that was twenty seventeen.
[6:38] Speaker 1: I'm like, what, wow? That long ago.
[6:40] Speaker 2: So from there, I got my first brand ambassador, you know,
[6:43] Speaker 2: with the hair company, but I was still short off
[6:46] Speaker 2: my rent, you know, I was still trying to figure out,
[6:47] Speaker 2: like what do I do? So doing that and had
[6:50] Speaker 2: to go to work at film Field Marriott. So and
[6:53] Speaker 2: after that I got fired from that job, So I
[6:55] Speaker 2: just kept getting fired everywhere.
[6:56] Speaker 1: I was just like cause you wasn't wasn't, I wouldn't.
[6:59] Speaker 2: This is not what I wanted. I didn't want to
[7:00] Speaker 2: work for nobody. I just knew that what mom my
[7:03] Speaker 2: mom said and what I feel in my spirit is
[7:05] Speaker 2: gonna happen.
[7:06] Speaker 1: You ever notice how everything keeps going up? I mean
[7:09] Speaker 1: rent is going up, Streaming services are going up. Even
[7:12] Speaker 1: like your favorite burrito places all of a sudden wants
[7:14] Speaker 1: to charge you for salsa. You go to the supermarket,
[7:15] Speaker 1: they want to charge you extra for the bag. It's
[7:18] Speaker 1: kind of crazy out here. The good thing is with
[7:20] Speaker 1: boost Mobile, you and your phone bill do not have
[7:23] Speaker 1: to play that game. You don't have to play the
[7:25] Speaker 1: will this go up soon?
[7:26] Speaker 2: Game?
[7:26] Speaker 1: Why? Because boost Mobile has an unlimited talk, text, and
[7:31] Speaker 1: data plan at a price that will never go up.
[7:34] Speaker 1: In fact, it's the same price you'll pay for life.
[7:37] Speaker 1: So switching out to unlimited wireless at a price that
[7:39] Speaker 1: will never go up only at boost Mobile after thirty gigabytes,
[7:43] Speaker 1: customers may experience slower speeds. Customers will pay twenty five
[7:46] Speaker 1: dollars a month as long as they remain active on
[7:48] Speaker 1: the boost Mobile unlimited plan. Did you ever do that? Like,
[7:51] Speaker 1: there's a lot of comedians they do like that first,
[7:54] Speaker 1: I don't know, like stand up and just trying to
[7:58] Speaker 1: get on in the comedy clubs. You ever go that route?
[8:01] Speaker 2: I did, but I did Wilding Out first. I auditioned
[8:03] Speaker 2: for Wilding Out. I didn't make it. I done told
[8:05] Speaker 2: them I was DC young Fly cousin, I'm callous Miller
[8:08] Speaker 2: Auntie like, I was gonna say everything, but you didn't
[8:11] Speaker 2: make it. Not the first round and be someone made
[8:14] Speaker 2: it just hilarious made it. Everybody else made it or
[8:17] Speaker 2: set me. And you know, God took me back from
[8:21] Speaker 2: New York back to Charlotte, you know, and have me
[8:24] Speaker 2: in that kitchen doing skits with my body enrolled. And
[8:27] Speaker 2: I was doing that, and then after that I had auditioned,
[8:29] Speaker 2: and then they called me back twenty eighteen and said, hey,
[8:31] Speaker 2: b see, you know you're doing your thing. You know
[8:33] Speaker 2: your numbers are growing. You want to come back and
[8:36] Speaker 2: do this audition again. And when I got there, I
[8:37] Speaker 2: didn't have to do it. You know, I've been on
[8:39] Speaker 2: the season for eight seasons now.
[8:40] Speaker 1: So you and your phone create enough content to get
[8:43] Speaker 1: hired on a television show. Yeah, create enough content that
[8:47] Speaker 1: you're getting brands and making money off of Instagram. To me,
[8:51] Speaker 1: that's super inspiring, cause it's like it wasn't nothing but
[8:53] Speaker 1: you and your talent, right, you know what I'm saying.
[8:56] Speaker 1: Like it wasn't like some producer came in or some
[8:58] Speaker 1: people came in and spent money on cameras and this
[9:01] Speaker 1: and that. It was you. It's an Instagram on Instagram.
[9:05] Speaker 1: It's amazing love bonding and roll and bonding and a
[9:07] Speaker 1: roll in the kitchen. And you saw bonuses. You sell
[9:09] Speaker 1: a lot of bonus, a lot of bonds. You did
[9:11] Speaker 1: a lot of I loved that for you, a lot.
[9:13] Speaker 2: Of bonus, a lot of roads. And then after that,
[9:17] Speaker 2: you know, wild'n out call back twenty eighteen, and then
[9:19] Speaker 2: that's when I've been on the show for eight season.
[9:21] Speaker 2: After that, those deals started happening within that that year.
[9:25] Speaker 1: We ask everybody on our show. We start with one
[9:28] Speaker 1: to ten. How happy are you on a scale of
[9:30] Speaker 1: one to ten. Ten, So you're like a happy person
[9:33] Speaker 1: most of the time. Yeah, what do you attribute that to?
[9:37] Speaker 2: I think just life. You know, like when you sit
[9:41] Speaker 2: back and you be like you are a really blessed girl.
[9:44] Speaker 2: Some days I used to be a one you know,
[9:46] Speaker 2: some days i'd be a one in or two, you know.
[9:49] Speaker 2: But I think now that I know like the formula
[9:51] Speaker 2: of everything, and I know like sometimes it just be you.
[9:55] Speaker 2: Nobody else is gonna fail you but you. So I
[9:58] Speaker 2: gotta give myself a ten to day because I've been
[10:00] Speaker 2: doing a job well done.
[10:02] Speaker 1: Mm yeah, what do you mean nobody could do it
[10:04] Speaker 1: but you?
[10:05] Speaker 2: Well, for me, it's it's like we always tend to
[10:08] Speaker 2: blame somebody else for our success, and sometimes the only
[10:12] Speaker 2: person that's failing you is you. You can't if I depend,
[10:15] Speaker 2: if I give my whole career to you, and I'm
[10:18] Speaker 2: over here like well you told me, No, you've actually been.
[10:21] Speaker 1: You've been.
[10:22] Speaker 2: You've been helping me, you've been encouraging me. You've been
[10:24] Speaker 2: telling me what I need to do, and I don't listen.
[10:26] Speaker 2: I don't follow through with it, and I'm not consistent,
[10:28] Speaker 2: and I'd rather do this then who is failing you?
[10:31] Speaker 1: Yeah?
[10:31] Speaker 2: Just me? I'm the one.
[10:32] Speaker 1: Yeah, you know.
[10:33] Speaker 2: You come out your busy schedule to give me the formula,
[10:36] Speaker 2: the encouraging words, the investing and I don't know what
[10:40] Speaker 2: to do with it, Like yeah, no, all that. That's
[10:42] Speaker 2: why they say jay Z meet jay Z or you
[10:45] Speaker 2: got a million dollars.
[10:46] Speaker 1: I'mun go meet jay right, you gonna leave the million dollars?
[10:49] Speaker 2: Sure some knowledgement. I I know that he would tell
[10:53] Speaker 2: me what to do, how to do it, and I'm
[10:55] Speaker 2: gonna be a student in that setting to take those
[10:58] Speaker 2: notes just like here, Like if you give me some
[11:01] Speaker 2: gems today, I better go back to Lanta and say,
[11:03] Speaker 2: you know what, Angie did this, And if I don't
[11:05] Speaker 2: do it, then you're the one who's procrastinating your own dreams. Yeah,
[11:09] Speaker 2: so that's what I mean. The only person that's spelling
[11:10] Speaker 2: you is you.
[11:11] Speaker 1: Cause there's definitely a lot of information.
[11:13] Speaker 2: There's a lot of information, a lot of technology going on, tiktoking,
[11:17] Speaker 2: you're back on snapchat, So why not who.
[11:20] Speaker 1: Gave me the best, best information or the best advice
[11:23] Speaker 1: ever so far? Like, well, what's been the best? Cat Williams,
[11:26] Speaker 1: what do you tell you?
[11:27] Speaker 2: Kat Williams told me? He said, he said, stay in
[11:30] Speaker 2: the mother fucking way. He said, don't get out that way,
[11:32] Speaker 2: you know, And I'm like what that means? He was like,
[11:35] Speaker 2: stay in the way, stay in everybody's way. You are
[11:38] Speaker 2: so funny, and you're funny than a lot of people,
[11:40] Speaker 2: so you need to stay in that way. And I
[11:42] Speaker 2: always look at everybody as they're being funny.
[11:44] Speaker 1: You know.
[11:45] Speaker 2: I used to always say I'm cute. I never said
[11:47] Speaker 2: I was pretty, you know, until I say, yea, I'm yes,
[11:49] Speaker 2: I'm pretty be when I got to college. But when
[11:51] Speaker 2: he told me that, he was like, get in your
[11:53] Speaker 2: bag and staying at that, you know, and be in
[11:56] Speaker 2: the way. Don't come out that way for nobody, do it?
[11:59] Speaker 2: And I I it's heuck with me.
[12:01] Speaker 1: So yeah, when did you become pretty? V uh? When
[12:05] Speaker 1: did you decide I'm pretty? V uh?
[12:07] Speaker 2: College?
[12:08] Speaker 1: Mm?
[12:09] Speaker 2: I was like, look what am I? And I'm like,
[12:11] Speaker 2: I'm pretty and I'm like, my LM, myn ain't vina?
[12:13] Speaker 1: Just ain't v pretty v And I think for girls,
[12:17] Speaker 1: for women, yeah, we don't always feel pretty, right, And
[12:20] Speaker 1: I just wonder is that something you always felt? And
[12:24] Speaker 1: how did you get that to to claim yourself yes,
[12:27] Speaker 1: I'm pretty v Yeah, like you telling the world to
[12:30] Speaker 1: s how they should see you. Yeah, right, And I
[12:32] Speaker 1: don't n know that everybody has that type of confidence.
[12:35] Speaker 2: Yeah. I was bullied in school, so I didn't feel
[12:39] Speaker 2: I like I told you. I didn't start saying I
[12:42] Speaker 2: was pretty until like maybe college. I was like, I'm cute,
[12:44] Speaker 2: like you know, but pretty just hit different.
[12:46] Speaker 1: But did you always feel pretty? Like as a kid,
[12:49] Speaker 1: did you th who t who told you you was pretty?
[12:51] Speaker 2: My mother, yuh, I was in the mission making for
[12:53] Speaker 2: the pageants. I was all over the place, you know,
[12:55] Speaker 2: so she made me feel like, oh, my child's beautiful.
[12:58] Speaker 2: You know, she got freckles, she got this, you got that,
[13:00] Speaker 2: she's talented. My mom had to me a tap, jazz, dance,
[13:03] Speaker 2: piano and being in pageants. My father was like, m
[13:07] Speaker 2: you think you're cute, you know like that. So but
[13:11] Speaker 2: all my life I thought I was, you know special what.
[13:13] Speaker 2: I didn't call myself pretty and beautiful until I got
[13:15] Speaker 2: to call it myself. Yeah, pretty and beautiful, until I
[13:17] Speaker 2: got to college.
[13:18] Speaker 1: And that musta been empowering, right it was did you believe?
[13:21] Speaker 1: Like cause you believe it? Yeah I hear that.
[13:23] Speaker 2: Yeah I believe it now too, even more. Yeah know,
[13:26] Speaker 2: not just people understand, not just my looks. Like it's
[13:29] Speaker 2: like I'm pretty, but I I can show you pictures
[13:33] Speaker 2: I had acne galore Like this was recently like acne acne, acne, acne,
[13:38] Speaker 2: and I was still bagging these dudes with the acne.
[13:41] Speaker 2: You wanna find the feble Like that was me, Like
[13:46] Speaker 2: I didn't care. You see the bump showing in the
[13:48] Speaker 2: makeup and everything. But I still thought I was pretty
[13:51] Speaker 2: because I carried myself well, I wasn't all over the place.
[13:55] Speaker 2: I feel like my heart is pretty, like but now
[13:57] Speaker 2: I'm like, well my skin is clearing up. I'm like,
[13:59] Speaker 2: I'm even more and more and more and more and
[14:01] Speaker 2: more and more and more pretty. You know. So I didn't.
[14:03] Speaker 2: I've always had this confidence, like I've always knew, like
[14:06] Speaker 2: I didn't care what I'm wearing on top of my
[14:07] Speaker 2: head if I had.
[14:08] Speaker 1: A act me bump.
[14:09] Speaker 2: I'm still pulling. I'm still doing this. I'm still feeling myself.
[14:12] Speaker 2: And then now like you get more con cause now
[14:14] Speaker 2: you're from the TV. Now you gotta you know, you
[14:16] Speaker 2: all this. They gotta do too much covering in posts.
[14:18] Speaker 1: So no insecurity in that ever.
[14:21] Speaker 2: No, I've never been insecure about like how I look.
[14:23] Speaker 1: Mm.
[14:24] Speaker 2: You know, I think when we get into the Instagram
[14:25] Speaker 2: and the social media life, you everybody got this. Everybody
[14:28] Speaker 2: got the fillers, everybody got the lips done. Everybody gold.
[14:31] Speaker 2: So you're like, ooh, I want that. Now you go
[14:33] Speaker 2: to your daughter, you be like, should I get something
[14:34] Speaker 2: in here like zippy zippy? And they like girl, not
[14:36] Speaker 2: right now?
[14:37] Speaker 1: Wait you know, n you you don't get if you
[14:38] Speaker 1: don't get your pretty house.
[14:39] Speaker 2: Out of here, like just get somebody care needed v
[14:42] Speaker 2: So I mean, yeah, I've I've never felt like that,
[14:46] Speaker 2: like maybe with like about my little booty to be
[14:48] Speaker 2: pituited up a little bit more.
[14:49] Speaker 1: Like let me I got a six pack, but let
[14:51] Speaker 1: me get it more.
[14:51] Speaker 2: Defined like Tiana, like you know, like those moments, but
[14:54] Speaker 2: never in the face.
[14:55] Speaker 1: Never with my with this, I've always felt pretty like
[14:59] Speaker 1: my face car never's a clining.
[15:03] Speaker 2: Heard you say like never to acline me mama, like
[15:06] Speaker 2: you too vain, you too vage. They take that down
[15:09] Speaker 2: and I was like, no, no, no, no, it's gonna
[15:11] Speaker 2: be something. It's gonna ring something one day.
[15:13] Speaker 1: Cause she like it now that she gets all over.
[15:15] Speaker 2: The place, She like, pretty be here, pretty be there.
[15:18] Speaker 1: I love that. Let's talk about your mom. That's how
[15:19] Speaker 1: I got to know. Well, Coy is the one who
[15:22] Speaker 1: told me, I guess your mom has a relationship with
[15:24] Speaker 1: Coy too. For a lot of people. Right, she has
[15:26] Speaker 1: a church. Yeah, she's a pastor, a pastor, she was
[15:29] Speaker 1: a pastor when you're growing up or no, Yeah, wow,
[15:32] Speaker 1: my mom.
[15:32] Speaker 2: Took to Corla Ray, she took to her. She uh
[15:35] Speaker 2: you know, uh thought that she is so talented and
[15:39] Speaker 2: has a story. And I told Coy about her, and
[15:42] Speaker 2: I said, Bro, you need to be talked to my mom.
[15:44] Speaker 2: You need to become to church. You need to be
[15:45] Speaker 2: you know, whatever is going on, you know, cause we
[15:49] Speaker 2: can have great days and still talk to counselors. People
[15:51] Speaker 2: don't know that just.
[15:52] Speaker 1: Because you you you sad.
[15:53] Speaker 2: On me, you always gotta go to them. Know, if
[15:55] Speaker 2: you have a faith based or whatever council you have
[15:58] Speaker 2: and you have a great day, still pick up the
[15:59] Speaker 2: phone say you know what, Aunt t T I'm having
[16:02] Speaker 2: a good day. Thank you so much for those words.
[16:04] Speaker 2: So those were something that Koy was bringing, you know,
[16:07] Speaker 2: and to my mom. And I appreciated her for trusting
[16:11] Speaker 2: me to open that door for her. So, yeah, my
[16:13] Speaker 2: mom's a pastor and she's doing doing it for a while.
[16:15] Speaker 1: Wow, what is that like growing up with a mom
[16:17] Speaker 1: as a pastor?
[16:18] Speaker 2: Ooh child?
[16:19] Speaker 1: And I'm Jamaican too, so I know, and you're feisty
[16:21] Speaker 1: and you're sassy and stuff like, is there like y'all yes.
[16:26] Speaker 2: So my mom and my father, you know, we grew up,
[16:28] Speaker 2: you know, talking like this was never in the household.
[16:33] Speaker 2: Really come down here doing this, you're not heremit like
[16:36] Speaker 2: it was all those different things. But my mom was
[16:38] Speaker 2: never that person. Though. My mom was very like, come
[16:42] Speaker 2: down here and do it, or come down here and
[16:44] Speaker 2: do it, just depends on what day it is. My
[16:47] Speaker 2: father was very like, nah, you going to school, gonna
[16:50] Speaker 2: become a doctor, you're gonna be a lawyer, you're gonna
[16:51] Speaker 2: be whatever. You're gonna be a real estate agent.
[16:53] Speaker 1: Like it was.
[16:54] Speaker 2: Strict in my my upbringing. But I appreciate this. I
[16:58] Speaker 2: appreciate what they've done. I appreciate the yelling. I appreciate
[17:02] Speaker 2: you know, the the are.
[17:03] Speaker 1: They still together?
[17:04] Speaker 2: No, So I appreciate. I appreciate how I was raised.
[17:08] Speaker 2: I won't change it because I feel like it protects
[17:10] Speaker 2: me in this industry. How how I float?
[17:13] Speaker 1: You know, I don't.
[17:14] Speaker 2: I'm not too accessible, you know, I know what to
[17:16] Speaker 2: take and well not to take. I use my discernment
[17:18] Speaker 2: for everything. I'm an energy person. So if I don't
[17:22] Speaker 2: like the energy. I'm not going you know, I always
[17:25] Speaker 2: pray for God to give me that gift each day
[17:27] Speaker 2: so I could do you know who's for me and
[17:29] Speaker 2: who's not and I and I learned it in my household.
[17:31] Speaker 1: So yeah, what do you pray for? A most so
[17:33] Speaker 1: is a I R L question?
[17:35] Speaker 2: Peace? Really peace? I don't know what everybody praying for.
[17:41] Speaker 1: For me, for you or for everyone.
[17:44] Speaker 2: It's gonna be peace in this industry. I mean you
[17:47] Speaker 2: know y'are doing it for years. By the way, you
[17:51] Speaker 2: look good, Let's be very good. Okay, you look really
[17:58] Speaker 2: really so for me, peace, yeah, you know. And God
[18:04] Speaker 2: to keep restoring my youth. I don't care if it's face.
[18:06] Speaker 2: I don't care if it's bones. I don't care if
[18:08] Speaker 2: it's my body, m cause I I'm a moving spirit,
[18:10] Speaker 2: so I have to move. So those are the two things.
[18:13] Speaker 1: Yeah, how is that affected?
[18:14] Speaker 2: Like?
[18:15] Speaker 1: Y cause when you think of like g religion and
[18:18] Speaker 1: God and then you don't always put comedy next to that,
[18:22] Speaker 1: right right, it's not the first thing that comes to
[18:24] Speaker 1: So when you grow up in a house like that,
[18:26] Speaker 1: and and uh, how does it affect what you do
[18:29] Speaker 1: or n or does it not?
[18:30] Speaker 2: Or well with my mom and my dad, there were
[18:32] Speaker 2: we were never living in the same household, got it,
[18:34] Speaker 2: you know. So my father was one of those dudes
[18:37] Speaker 2: whereas like, you know, you need something, what's going on,
[18:40] Speaker 2: what's going on in school? He was very attentive. He
[18:42] Speaker 2: was very making sure that we're we're good. But my
[18:45] Speaker 2: mom was the one that was like in church, but
[18:49] Speaker 2: also go chase your career too. I'm not gonna hold
[18:52] Speaker 2: you back because I know you're gifted. I know my
[18:54] Speaker 2: kids have a calling on they life. So it made
[18:57] Speaker 2: sense in my household cause my mom never deterared me
[18:59] Speaker 2: from what I wanna do.
[19:00] Speaker 1: How did she know, you said, she always like encouraged
[19:02] Speaker 1: you to do this.
[19:02] Speaker 2: How did she know?
[19:03] Speaker 1: Like? What was it?
[19:04] Speaker 2: I I believe the relationship with God with her you know,
[19:07] Speaker 2: and her spirit. You know, like God told me you're
[19:10] Speaker 2: gonna be in the arts, and she said that before
[19:12] Speaker 2: anybody else did. Really, she said that in middle school.
[19:15] Speaker 2: She told me that. She was like, and I hold
[19:17] Speaker 2: on and I held on to that do college cause
[19:19] Speaker 2: do college. I was depressed. I was like I was
[19:21] Speaker 2: that girl in like a school. I was hosting everything.
[19:23] Speaker 2: I have my own radio show. I everybody knew me,
[19:26] Speaker 2: and then when I graduated, I was like, oh shit,
[19:28] Speaker 2: I got nothing going on, you know, and I do.
[19:30] Speaker 2: I gotta full out of application, and I did so,
[19:34] Speaker 2: you know, but I turned my nose into yeses. And
[19:36] Speaker 2: I always go by a delays and never denial, So
[19:39] Speaker 2: we could go through those storms and you'd be delayed
[19:41] Speaker 2: with you not denied.
[19:42] Speaker 1: Mm.
[19:42] Speaker 2: That's good.
[19:43] Speaker 1: Yeah, that's good. So then why were you d like
[19:46] Speaker 1: you seem like you have such a strong faith and
[19:49] Speaker 1: a like st strong will. Yeah, so then what what
[19:52] Speaker 1: was it that took you down?
[19:53] Speaker 2: I was depending on my mom in her prayers more
[19:55] Speaker 2: than my faith, you know, and I was older enough
[19:58] Speaker 2: to carry my own faith, and sh she doesn't need
[20:00] Speaker 2: to do the job. You see. We always listen to
[20:02] Speaker 2: our pastors and our parents and we're like, well, my
[20:05] Speaker 2: mom got it, you know, and I'm spoiled now I was.
[20:07] Speaker 2: I'm the last kid. So she's like, ohay, why Mom'm
[20:09] Speaker 2: gonna do it. I'm'm gonna figure out. She gonna pray
[20:11] Speaker 2: for me, she gonna do that. She gonna do that,
[20:12] Speaker 2: not knowing that I got to go to God with
[20:14] Speaker 2: my own issues and when I knew who he was
[20:16] Speaker 2: in the midst of me being depressed, I gave everything
[20:18] Speaker 2: to him and now I felt that peace, and from
[20:21] Speaker 2: then I knew nothing was wrong. I was just over
[20:22] Speaker 2: here thought I was gonna get a job right after school,
[20:25] Speaker 2: you know. And that's what I tell these people that
[20:27] Speaker 2: go to these colleges. Make sure you have a plan
[20:29] Speaker 2: and make sure you're make sure you're applying yourself right,
[20:32] Speaker 2: because it is. It gets hard, you know, getting out
[20:35] Speaker 2: of school and then life begins and you know, you
[20:37] Speaker 2: depending on mom and dad to to figure it.
[20:40] Speaker 1: Out, and people are starting to look at you like
[20:42] Speaker 1: an adult.
[20:42] Speaker 2: Now, no, we're right, so you gotta figure it. So
[20:44] Speaker 2: I from that I was in a still place. I
[20:45] Speaker 2: didn't know what I wanted to do until my mind
[20:48] Speaker 2: changed and I was like, you know what, I I
[20:50] Speaker 2: got this now, you know. And it changed when I
[20:53] Speaker 2: left and I went to Miami at Change when I
[20:54] Speaker 2: got my job working in radio. And then after that
[20:57] Speaker 2: that's when I got viral fired my Schling Street. So

[22:39] Speaker 1: you were depress because people are like, oh, I'm depressed today.
[22:41] Speaker 1: Like was it like was it dark?
[22:44] Speaker 2: Dark? Like it wasn't like dark, dok, but it was
[22:47] Speaker 2: fated with like why am I not sleeping? Then it
[22:48] Speaker 2: was like going on for a months to the point
[22:50] Speaker 2: where I was like, you know, what I gotta pray,
[22:51] Speaker 2: I gotta really do it. I gotta get active, I
[22:54] Speaker 2: gotta work out. But it was never a place where
[22:56] Speaker 2: I was just in my room, like, no, tim the
[22:58] Speaker 2: lights off, don't bother me. I was willing and able
[23:01] Speaker 2: to combat the enemy.
[23:02] Speaker 1: What is the prayer that gets you out of a
[23:04] Speaker 1: depression like that? Because some people don't I had. I
[23:08] Speaker 1: talked with Tianna Taylor about this because she was like,
[23:10] Speaker 1: you know, some people believe it's just hands together, get
[23:12] Speaker 1: on your knee, say your prayer. Tianna was like, I
[23:15] Speaker 1: have real ones with God, like what yeah? Like sometimes
[23:20] Speaker 1: be her feelings with God, like what's show me? Like,
[23:23] Speaker 1: what do I need to That's it? Breathe into me?
[23:25] Speaker 1: She said. That was one of her prayers that she said.
[23:27] Speaker 1: But I think everybody prays different. So I just wonder
[23:29] Speaker 1: if for you, like what is that? What is how
[23:32] Speaker 1: do you pray yourself out of depression?
[23:34] Speaker 2: It's for me, God, give me wisdom, give me knowledge,
[23:37] Speaker 2: give me peace, show me give me clarity, you know,
[23:40] Speaker 2: And I got prayer warriors around me.
[23:42] Speaker 1: I go back to my mom because she's one of

[24:30] Speaker 1: to ask our guests in real life. One are you
[24:33] Speaker 1: your happiest like? One are you in your bag?
[24:35] Speaker 2: When I'm working?
[24:37] Speaker 1: I love to work really like I love.
[24:39] Speaker 2: To meet the people, like to touch the people. I
[24:42] Speaker 2: like to be in front of people, like yourself, Like
[24:44] Speaker 2: I just love to touch people. I just love to
[24:47] Speaker 2: speak life into people. I just love to like see
[24:50] Speaker 2: me create, you know on stage with different brands, Like
[24:54] Speaker 2: I just love to like see like walkings, like being
[24:57] Speaker 2: my purpose.
[24:58] Speaker 1: I love that, Like you look like you love it,
[25:00] Speaker 1: Like you look like you're having so much fun. I
[25:01] Speaker 1: just saw the the Deasie, the little kit you did
[25:06] Speaker 1: with I'm like, she's so crazy. And then the best way,
[25:10] Speaker 1: because you seem so free to be crazy, like you're
[25:13] Speaker 1: down for whatever. How did those things happen? You just
[25:15] Speaker 1: jump in and just jump in?
[25:17] Speaker 2: You know, Deansy is a clown himself, so it's like
[25:19] Speaker 2: we always hit each other, like you got idea, I
[25:22] Speaker 2: got idea, let's do it, you know. So it's one
[25:23] Speaker 2: of those ones where he has time for my bs,
[25:26] Speaker 2: he has time for the craziness, and I got time
[25:28] Speaker 2: for his.
[25:28] Speaker 1: And then how did those happen? Did they give you guys,
[25:30] Speaker 1: fund them yourself?
[25:31] Speaker 2: Or like, girl, that's a phone, Get.
[25:41] Speaker 1: That's a phone? No, but like that when you had
[25:44] Speaker 1: police cars, just.
[25:46] Speaker 2: Relationships and homeboys. I got a police car.
[25:48] Speaker 1: That's it, that's all it is.
[25:51] Speaker 2: And you come here Atlanta, We're gonna have you a
[25:52] Speaker 2: ski girl.
[25:53] Speaker 1: And then how do you make money off that? You sell?
[25:56] Speaker 1: Like you just do it for promotions or like.
[25:58] Speaker 2: Just do it because we having fun? Cause I think
[26:00] Speaker 2: Instagram was paying mm and I think they stopped. But
[26:03] Speaker 2: there's other platforms like Facebook that pay snapchats. Yeah, you know,
[26:06] Speaker 2: we put it on those platforms and of course see
[26:09] Speaker 2: the youtubeing and all that's.
[26:10] Speaker 1: Yeah, so it makes money somehow. I don't know. I
[26:12] Speaker 1: see all these like influencers that have a millions of followers,
[26:15] Speaker 1: and you create all this content all the time. Yeah,
[26:18] Speaker 1: I just I don't wanna. Uh, you've clearly made a
[26:21] Speaker 1: business out of it. So yeah, like people have found
[26:23] Speaker 1: a way to have just have a talent and just
[26:26] Speaker 1: have a talent and not wait for anybody to usher
[26:30] Speaker 1: you into anything. Yeah, and you just kind of take
[26:33] Speaker 1: it in on your own and create something, which is
[26:35] Speaker 1: so I don't know, it's just so dope that you
[26:37] Speaker 1: can do that a little iPhone iPhone right and everything
[26:41] Speaker 1: else coming back effort and an iPhone.
[26:42] Speaker 2: You know, people see you moving and shaking with your peers,
[26:44] Speaker 2: they see you moving and shaking with your friends. They like, oh, like,
[26:47] Speaker 2: I see that went crazy and viral. How about we
[26:49] Speaker 2: just acted to promote this sh this sugar or do
[26:52] Speaker 2: you order it?
[26:53] Speaker 1: So it works, it's it's so you get brands to
[26:55] Speaker 1: come in and then sponsor.
[26:57] Speaker 2: Yeah, just be consistent and everything like that. So yeah,
[27:00] Speaker 2: I mean it works sometimes Instagram and paying, but somebody
[27:02] Speaker 2: looking at us in they front of pay.
[27:04] Speaker 1: Yeah, but I'm sure and I know you have other
[27:06] Speaker 1: and I know you did TV shows, you.
[27:07] Speaker 2: Did rap uh rap shit.
[27:10] Speaker 1: Yeah, but I know you probably have.
[27:15] Speaker 2: Movies. We shot up chrisa movie, the crpety Stone, and
[27:18] Speaker 2: I paid lead. It's an Hoo on Hulu. Oh rap shit.
[27:20] Speaker 2: I played Deronda Hood's Story with Remy. We did that
[27:24] Speaker 2: and it was another movie. I did hip hop uh Christmas,
[27:26] Speaker 2: the Surreya and everyone. So we tap it into that space.
[27:30] Speaker 2: You know, we really are in their red carpet hosting,
[27:32] Speaker 2: the TV hosting and also had my own I have
[27:34] Speaker 2: my own merchandise in stores, six hundred plus stores city Trends,
[27:37] Speaker 2: you know, they all down in the South. So you know,
[27:39] Speaker 2: we we we moving and grooving.
[27:41] Speaker 1: Yeah, mama.
[27:42] Speaker 2: So so I'm like, I'm excited about it.
[27:46] Speaker 1: You know.
[27:46] Speaker 2: My first brand ambassador was Fente, you know, so they
[27:50] Speaker 2: you know, took me on their wings and we built
[27:52] Speaker 2: that good stuff and and I did their their makeup
[27:54] Speaker 2: classes and stuff. That was the first brand, big brand.
[27:58] Speaker 2: And then it happened, is.
[27:59] Speaker 1: That when Rihanna reached out when they was like, I
[28:01] Speaker 1: want you to be and then.
[28:03] Speaker 2: Recently I did I Valentine's They skied, but I had
[28:06] Speaker 2: Case in it. You know. I love me some case.
[28:07] Speaker 2: Anything that's back in that era, I'm gonna dig it
[28:10] Speaker 2: up and find them. So the case I said, Case,
[28:13] Speaker 2: I want you to be in my Valentine's Day skid
[28:15] Speaker 2: like we're gonna remake happily. Ever after he was like,
[28:17] Speaker 2: I'm down, I'm in the A. So Rihanna hit me.
[28:20] Speaker 2: She was like, what's going on here? Girl? I was like, girl,
[28:24] Speaker 2: nothing at all. So it was funny for her. Yeah. Yeah,
[28:28] Speaker 2: So I was always love.
[28:30] Speaker 1: I feel like you know you talked, you said this back.
[28:32] Speaker 1: You were like a combination of Carol Burnett, Oh yes,
[28:37] Speaker 1: and Jim Carrey. We need people to see you that
[28:40] Speaker 1: way too and put you in the type of movies.
[28:42] Speaker 2: Yeah. And because it's time and I'm ready for it,
[28:45] Speaker 2: you know, And I'm setting up everything to do that
[28:47] Speaker 2: because it is it is time. Like I love Carapernette,
[28:50] Speaker 2: she's telling a story. Tyler Perry is one of the
[28:52] Speaker 2: ones too, you know. And I love Jim Carrey. He's
[28:56] Speaker 2: he's a physical comedian. But he's the type of that
[29:00] Speaker 2: goes all in, ye know. He's so daring and so
[29:02] Speaker 2: bold and careful. On has the same way the facial expression.
[29:05] Speaker 1: Yeah, you're so physical. Sometimes I see you do these
[29:08] Speaker 1: skits and I'm scared for you. I'm like, oh my god,
[29:10] Speaker 1: you kill someone. D that wobbly ass table with the.
[29:14] Speaker 2: Suit kit is holding it up. It's like a girl.
[29:16] Speaker 2: I'll sit it down. But I love it, you know,
[29:18] Speaker 2: and I want people to see I'm not. I don't
[29:19] Speaker 2: want people to always give me as a pretty face.
[29:21] Speaker 2: Mm like this girl, she could work, you know, cause
[29:25] Speaker 2: I I don't want to be that. I I wanna
[29:26] Speaker 2: work out, I wanna eat right, I wanna keep my
[29:29] Speaker 2: my my skin right, you know. I I don't wanna
[29:32] Speaker 2: be that. I wanna just be someone that's gonna work hard,
[29:35] Speaker 2: even if it's a bonding and roll on like let's go,
[29:38] Speaker 2: you know, because it's it's it's it's needed.
[29:40] Speaker 1: In real life. What is the best and worst decision
[29:43] Speaker 1: you've ever made?
[29:44] Speaker 2: My best decision was moving to Atlanta. You know that
[29:47] Speaker 2: was a faith move. So I'm happy because that's when
[29:50] Speaker 2: my career blossomed. You know. My worst, my Grandma Pha,
[30:00] Speaker 2: my great grandma passed away and I told her I
[30:02] Speaker 2: was coming back to spend time with her. A week
[30:03] Speaker 2: later she passed.
[30:04] Speaker 1: MM.
[30:05] Speaker 2: I didn't go back. You know, I don't wanna cry,
[30:08] Speaker 2: but I didn't go back. I ain't go back. I
[30:10] Speaker 2: ain't go back. And and look at her one time,
[30:13] Speaker 2: you know, the last phone call we had when she
[30:15] Speaker 2: told my mom she was ready to go, and she
[30:17] Speaker 2: was ready to get her gown and she was ready
[30:19] Speaker 2: to get her herself together. And I would never do
[30:22] Speaker 2: that again. My my, my, my father. Mama is still here,
[30:25] Speaker 2: and every chance I get, I'm gonna try to see
[30:27] Speaker 2: her in for Lauderdale and either and sit work, even
[30:29] Speaker 2: if it's boring, even if we gotta watch Benny Henn
[30:31] Speaker 2: all day.
[30:31] Speaker 1: And then he gave you know, like i'm'a be there
[30:34] Speaker 1: because I told.
[30:35] Speaker 2: My great grandmother I would come back, and I never did. MM.
[30:38] Speaker 1: That was a great, great lesson she taught you. Yeah,
[30:40] Speaker 1: cause you probably a more conscious now to spend the
[30:43] Speaker 1: time with your family and parents.
[30:45] Speaker 2: And MM for sure. Yeah, and even the friends too.
[30:48] Speaker 2: You know, if you tell somebody you gonna call 'em back,
[30:50] Speaker 2: call him back, cause you just never know. You know
[30:52] Speaker 2: and even for me. You know, people they said they're
[30:56] Speaker 2: gonna call me back, calling me back, you know, you
[30:58] Speaker 2: never know what I'm calling you about, you know. So
[31:00] Speaker 2: I think that's what I learned.
[31:01] Speaker 1: Are you sensitive if people don't No, not really, because
[31:04] Speaker 1: it's not home.
[31:05] Speaker 2: We bothered, but if it's something that I really need
[31:06] Speaker 2: to tell them, Like.

[32:13] Speaker 2: I would say my faith. I would say my faith
[32:15] Speaker 2: for sure.
[32:16] Speaker 1: So is it religion or God?
[32:17] Speaker 2: Like?
[32:18] Speaker 1: Do you cause it's a fine line for people, right, Like,
[32:21] Speaker 1: it's two different things. Yeah, I think for it's both
[32:25] Speaker 1: for you, right, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
[32:28] Speaker 2: It's it's both because I believe in Jesus, right and
[32:32] Speaker 2: I know people you know, have a lot of gods around,
[32:36] Speaker 2: you know, and that's whatever flows to everybody's both. But
[32:39] Speaker 2: I think for me, I just know when I call
[32:41] Speaker 2: his name, I get what I need. Mm you know
[32:43] Speaker 2: when I is it instant? I mean it's in a
[32:46] Speaker 2: space where I'm like that phone gonna ring, you know,
[32:49] Speaker 2: and it's it's like, oh my God, but just moments
[32:52] Speaker 2: where it's like yeah, a hour later I feel it,
[32:55] Speaker 2: you know, a hour later I'm getting that phone call
[32:57] Speaker 2: like I just prayed about this.
[33:00] Speaker 1: Oh my God, that fast, that fast. Yeah, does it
[33:03] Speaker 1: ever freak you out? Does it ever? Like not in
[33:05] Speaker 1: a bad way, but like does it ever surprise it? Yes,
[33:09] Speaker 1: I don't know what.
[33:09] Speaker 2: Opportunity just came and I was just like, so, I
[33:12] Speaker 2: have a nonprofit called The Pretty Victory. Why I talk
[33:15] Speaker 2: to young girls about their mind their mental health, their
[33:18] Speaker 2: self esteem, the confidence, just building that up and just
[33:21] Speaker 2: encouraging them to keep going. So I told God, I said,
[33:24] Speaker 2: it's two things. I said, God, I want to start
[33:26] Speaker 2: talking to young girls. You know, I wanna really at
[33:29] Speaker 2: truly dive in their minds and really encourage them to
[33:31] Speaker 2: keep going because they may not have a mentor they
[33:34] Speaker 2: may not have a sister like and I wanna be
[33:36] Speaker 2: that til my whole emails started flooding with with people
[33:41] Speaker 2: like hey, I see.
[33:42] Speaker 1: What do you mean? Like immediately em.
[33:44] Speaker 2: When I say, I looked at my email and it
[33:46] Speaker 2: was like the District of Atlanta they this school wants
[33:49] Speaker 2: you to come out, this person wants you to come out,
[33:51] Speaker 2: this person they want to do charm school. They want
[33:53] Speaker 2: you to do this. And it just started flooding like that,
[33:58] Speaker 2: like same day or no day, same day, going into
[34:01] Speaker 2: the midnight.
[34:02] Speaker 1: Wow.
[34:03] Speaker 2: Then I told and you could ask my makeup artists.
[34:07] Speaker 2: I told God, I was like, I just move into
[34:08] Speaker 2: my my house. Seven bedroom dah da dah. I'm I'm
[34:11] Speaker 2: in my house like I'm a little princess. I don't
[34:13] Speaker 2: know what's going on. I don't know how to fix
[34:15] Speaker 2: no light or nothing, but I'm gonna be like I
[34:16] Speaker 2: got a little house now. I said, God, I gotta
[34:20] Speaker 2: get this money to to furnish this home like what
[34:22] Speaker 2: i'm'a do child. I looked at my email and it said,
[34:26] Speaker 2: pretty Vic, you just bought your home. I would like
[34:28] Speaker 2: to furnish your whole house for you who says that
[34:31] Speaker 2: my whole house is furnished by this one company to this.
[34:33] Speaker 1: Day, a company did it? Yeah, a c like for
[34:36] Speaker 1: ads like promote it like that.
[34:39] Speaker 2: She just blessed me with it. She did my whole
[34:42] Speaker 2: she did my dining, she did my my living room,
[34:45] Speaker 2: she did my my m my, my thr.
[34:47] Speaker 1: For for mention or for just cousin j Yeah.
[34:50] Speaker 2: She said, I H I seen that you moved, and
[34:52] Speaker 2: I wanna furnish your home. And I aks, God, how
[34:54] Speaker 2: I'm gonna furnish all these bedrooms and my downstairs And
[34:58] Speaker 2: he pulled through right away. And I hadn't thay, I didn't.
[35:01] Speaker 1: I think I'm not asking for the right things. I
[35:04] Speaker 1: gotta get more specific in my prayers.
[35:06] Speaker 2: I'm telling you, I literally.
[35:08] Speaker 1: I'll be asking God for peace, for like uh for
[35:11] Speaker 1: like uh clarity, yeah, all of that. I'm very I'm
[35:14] Speaker 1: a very thankful prayer. Like when I pray, I it's
[35:17] Speaker 1: hugely led with what I'm grateful. You know, let me
[35:19] Speaker 1: thank you. I Yeah, but I don't ask for a
[35:22] Speaker 1: lot of specific things. Yeah, maybe I am missing the
[35:25] Speaker 1: boat with.
[35:25] Speaker 2: Here, got the got the aks, and you gonna receive it.
[35:28] Speaker 2: Cause I literally was on that thing. I was like,
[35:31] Speaker 2: I don't know how I'm we do this. I just moved, Yes, things,
[35:34] Speaker 2: come on, mom. I wanted to stay in my apartment
[35:36] Speaker 2: so bad. My mom said, no, baby, you are deserving
[35:38] Speaker 2: of the higher heights. You gonna get this house. It's
[35:40] Speaker 2: gonna go through. And it was you know, buying a house,
[35:42] Speaker 2: how the processes. Yes, it's dragon it's a lot. So
[35:45] Speaker 2: I'm like, okay, Mom, it's making me upset, like we
[35:48] Speaker 2: get it like and she was like, no, we got it,
[35:50] Speaker 2: and we did. I got in. I was like, whoa,
[35:52] Speaker 2: this is my responsibility. Now come on, I'm like twenty seven,
[35:56] Speaker 2: I'm like, what are we talking about? So I called
[35:59] Speaker 2: them people. They hit me up. They emailed me, they said,
[36:01] Speaker 2: we see you bought the house, girl, we wanna furnish it. Oh,
[36:04] Speaker 2: God said, I got you. And even when we don't
[36:07] Speaker 2: see it, sometimes, like you said, it gets to the point,
[36:09] Speaker 2: well are you even hearing me? Like are you even there?
[36:12] Speaker 2: The people understand the more in this industry, the more
[36:14] Speaker 2: people get higher, the more their stot losing sight of
[36:17] Speaker 2: who did it for 'em? You could tell you look
[36:19] Speaker 2: at the word shows. They don't say God no more.
[36:20] Speaker 2: When they say well, I just wanna think, they say God.
[36:24] Speaker 2: Some people say what'em do? Some of them do angie,
[36:26] Speaker 2: but some of them be like, okay, now the more
[36:29] Speaker 2: you know somebody, people be girl growing them in the
[36:31] Speaker 2: church home, and as soon as they get that award,
[36:32] Speaker 2: they don't even know him no more. M it happens.
[36:35] Speaker 1: And then you know when they on.
[36:37] Speaker 2: They bend and knee, then they say, hey, okay, God,
[36:39] Speaker 2: I'm back. It happens. You see it. You see people
[36:43] Speaker 2: careers flourish and then be like what happened? What what
[36:47] Speaker 2: turn did you take? You know? So I think for me,
[36:50] Speaker 2: I'm not gonna be that because I told them I
[36:52] Speaker 2: won't be that. Mm So I think for me, I'm
[36:55] Speaker 2: gonna always say thing and a lot of people have
[36:57] Speaker 2: they still do that, but then some't and then they
[37:01] Speaker 2: expect it to just be that, and then you know,
[37:03] Speaker 2: it's like okay, wow.
[37:07] Speaker 1: She like, cause I'm like, I'm trying. I'm'a go through
[37:08] Speaker 1: my lists of like, yeah.
[37:11] Speaker 2: People do some people do, and if it may be
[37:13] Speaker 2: not just nervousness on stage, some people just sill forget
[37:17] Speaker 2: or people like pray before they get up there. Who knows,
[37:20] Speaker 2: but I know when I get them oscars, I'm gonna
[37:23] Speaker 2: be shouting and saying thank you Jesus, thanking God, you know,
[37:26] Speaker 2: because I know what it is. I just don't people
[37:29] Speaker 2: do forget. And I've and I've learned that from people
[37:32] Speaker 2: in your era who would call me and tell me
[37:34] Speaker 2: people do forget. So you need to stay and say
[37:37] Speaker 2: thank you God, you know, and and keep going. I
[37:40] Speaker 2: remember Missy told me one day, she said, girl, don't
[37:42] Speaker 2: lowercase that g you better put God, you know, And
[37:46] Speaker 2: I like you, right, we be lowercasing that word you
[37:48] Speaker 2: better put good. And I'm just that girl and I'm
[37:51] Speaker 2: not gonna waiver her. You know, I'm not homie. I'm
[37:53] Speaker 2: that friend. But I'm also gonna be the one that's
[37:55] Speaker 2: gonna call and pray for you too, you know cause
[37:57] Speaker 2: I know.
[37:58] Speaker 1: I love that. Yeah, except like your mom has a church, right,
[38:01] Speaker 1: and you do the you're involved in the church.
[38:04] Speaker 2: Yeah, I do the announcements.
[38:06] Speaker 1: The announcements. Are they funny? Because they must be funny.
[38:10] Speaker 2: Girl, I got my little my little jigg and jags
[38:12] Speaker 2: on on the thing. It's so funny. Girl, don't come
[38:15] Speaker 2: up here and do no comedy skits. Now, it's not
[38:17] Speaker 2: the pullpit to do that. So whatnot?
[38:19] Speaker 1: Well, God gave you the talent.
[38:21] Speaker 2: But in the midst of it, I do, I'll be
[38:23] Speaker 2: turning up. So I said to the DC young father
[38:25] Speaker 2: that I said, dec let me show you one little
[38:26] Speaker 2: thing I did on the pul pit, and he was like,
[38:28] Speaker 2: not you up there cutting up? So yeah, I did that.
[38:30] Speaker 2: So I think I use my gift and everyone I
[38:32] Speaker 2: go to my home. But like here she goes. She
[38:34] Speaker 2: about to dance for the tithes and offering. So literally
[38:38] Speaker 2: that's what I do. It's fun My mom church is
[38:41] Speaker 2: called Godswitive Temple, and she she's so excited. She's so
[38:44] Speaker 2: excited about it. She's so warming. I can't wait for
[38:46] Speaker 2: you to meet her.
[38:47] Speaker 1: I can't wait.
[38:48] Speaker 2: She's so warming, she's so real, she's so raw. She's
[38:50] Speaker 2: toll living New York. She lived in the Bronx, she
[38:52] Speaker 2: moved to Miami, came back and back and forth. But yeah,
[38:56] Speaker 2: my mom is a real one.
[38:57] Speaker 1: You guys are close.
[38:58] Speaker 2: We are. That's my I don't play by her, like
[39:02] Speaker 2: everybody already know. I do not play about that lady.
[39:04] Speaker 2: I don't care what y'all do, but don't play with
[39:05] Speaker 2: that one. You know. I love, Yeah, I love I
[39:08] Speaker 2: love I love her.
[39:09] Speaker 1: That's sweet. Okay, let's see Irral in real life? What
[39:15] Speaker 1: do you peop? What do you hope people learn from you?
[39:17] Speaker 1: Like when you do those things? When you talk to
[39:19] Speaker 1: the girls, I know you say you're doing one tomorrow.
[39:21] Speaker 1: What are your What are the things that you What
[39:24] Speaker 1: are the important things that you teach them?
[39:26] Speaker 2: One of the things that I teach them is no,
[39:28] Speaker 2: it's not you. You gotta change your mind. Mm you know,
[39:32] Speaker 2: because I think we tend to be like, well, you know,
[39:35] Speaker 2: it's me and it's I'm the one that's overthinking I'm
[39:37] Speaker 2: the one that's this. It's like when we keep laboring
[39:39] Speaker 2: on ourself like that and we keep what labels on it,
[39:41] Speaker 2: that becomes you. You know that, ain't you. It was
[39:43] Speaker 2: one girl and like I say her name, but she
[39:45] Speaker 2: was in there, and she was the oldest one in there,
[39:48] Speaker 2: and she came in. She be like, oh my god,
[39:49] Speaker 2: we got pretty people about what just all of that right?
[39:54] Speaker 2: And she sat down. She's like, you gotta because me
[39:55] Speaker 2: and be small. And she's like you got to be
[39:57] Speaker 2: small here whatever, like a god. And then we were talking.
[40:00] Speaker 2: The other girl was crying cause she loved be Simon,
[40:02] Speaker 2: And you know, I'm just I'm a very observing person,
[40:05] Speaker 2: so I I waited till be some moone tell her
[40:06] Speaker 2: story and and I just kept looking at this one girl.
[40:09] Speaker 2: I was like, she is just so hard in the
[40:12] Speaker 2: inside and I could see that, you know, but she
[40:14] Speaker 2: was just trying to still be all of that. And
[40:17] Speaker 2: her hands was like her hands was like this on
[40:19] Speaker 2: the chair right, and everybody was just like talking and
[40:22] Speaker 2: they were so engaging. She was still smiling. Her hand
[40:24] Speaker 2: was like this just balled up. And I said to her,
[40:29] Speaker 2: but everybody did it. I said, do this right, and
[40:31] Speaker 2: then she was like and I said, no, you do this.
[40:34] Speaker 2: And I when she did this and beatone was like,
[40:36] Speaker 2: well I wanna do it too, I wanna kill what
[40:37] Speaker 2: what I gotta do? So I said no, not you,
[40:39] Speaker 2: says I want her to do it by herself. I
[40:41] Speaker 2: said do this. And as soon as she put her
[40:43] Speaker 2: hand on the table, I said, well you let it go,
[40:45] Speaker 2: and she just bust out crying. I said, let it go,
[40:48] Speaker 2: let the rejection go, let the abandonment issues go, let
[40:51] Speaker 2: the not trusting people go. You're you're you're eighteen in
[40:54] Speaker 2: here we in the bronx.
[40:56] Speaker 1: What did you think you saw in her? Where was
[40:58] Speaker 1: she this hard?
[40:59] Speaker 2: She was just sh she was just still holding on.
[41:01] Speaker 2: And I think that was the circle that we were having.
[41:03] Speaker 2: It was time to let it go, you know. And
[41:06] Speaker 2: the people told me when I left, the officers was like,
[41:08] Speaker 2: you know, she never cries. Oh, and that's what made
[41:11] Speaker 2: the other girls cry, cause she's just they never seen
[41:13] Speaker 2: that side.
[41:14] Speaker 1: And you just told her to put her hands on
[41:16] Speaker 1: the tail.
[41:16] Speaker 2: And let it go. She was bald shit. My spirit
[41:19] Speaker 2: told me to look down and her hands was like that,
[41:21] Speaker 2: like like bald up uh, And I said let it
[41:24] Speaker 2: go my mom, let it go. And then she just
[41:27] Speaker 2: begin to cry, busting out cry kids, you not when
[41:30] Speaker 2: I was like, girl of rejection issues vandamit issues must
[41:34] Speaker 2: leave you and you are too young to do with that.
[41:37] Speaker 2: Go let it go.
[41:39] Speaker 1: Mm.
[41:39] Speaker 2: And from there she gave me the biggest hub. My
[41:41] Speaker 2: mom gave her a book. My mom a sent me
[41:43] Speaker 2: down with like twenty books from Atlanta, signed it and
[41:46] Speaker 2: I brought a little note and I said, sister read
[41:48] Speaker 2: this every day. I'm'a go back to myr and see
[41:50] Speaker 2: her and I'm like, are you been reading?
[41:51] Speaker 1: Are you going back?
[41:52] Speaker 2: And i'm'a go back to where I see her to Ma,
[41:54] Speaker 2: and I was just like, you know.
[41:55] Speaker 1: Does that happen all often to you?
[41:58] Speaker 2: No? Not Like if I'm around somebody and I understand
[42:01] Speaker 2: what's going on, I could feel it. I'm like, girl,
[42:04] Speaker 2: give me a hug, or like my team like I'm
[42:06] Speaker 2: always stopping and encouraging them. My home gress is something
[42:08] Speaker 2: yesterday and I said, she said to me, she said,
[42:11] Speaker 2: I want God to view me how I how y'all
[42:14] Speaker 2: view me? And I said, He's already answered that, because
[42:17] Speaker 2: when I tell you that you're great, he's speaking through
[42:19] Speaker 2: me to tell you you're great, my mom. Mm, like
[42:22] Speaker 2: you're okay, you're hold you're valued, you're this, You're that.
[42:25] Speaker 2: You don't need to look for any answers no where else.
[42:27] Speaker 2: He's already been answering you around people. You're okay, you know.
[42:31] Speaker 2: So I think for me, if my spirit is just
[42:33] Speaker 2: telling me to encourage somebody, I'm gonna do it, you know.
[42:36] Speaker 2: And I think everybody is in that space. Everybody has
[42:39] Speaker 2: that like you good, you okay, and you're able to
[42:42] Speaker 2: give a word. You know. I think we got if
[42:44] Speaker 2: you need, if someone's in need of something, you know,
[42:46] Speaker 2: to stop and say, here's this. You know, my spirit
[42:49] Speaker 2: told me to check it on you. You be having
[42:51] Speaker 2: probably uh your homewords on your mind, and you like,
[42:53] Speaker 2: you know what, Shoot, I gotta call tt lo lo
[42:56] Speaker 2: kk whoever so you know, to speak to cause my
[42:59] Speaker 2: spirit is on them, you know. And I'm I'm that
[43:01] Speaker 2: way like I don't wanna.
[43:03] Speaker 1: You actually do it, cause some of us will. You'll
[43:05] Speaker 1: think about it and then you go on about your day.
[43:07] Speaker 1: You don't actually act.
[43:08] Speaker 2: I gonna act on it.
[43:09] Speaker 1: Yeah.
[43:09] Speaker 2: Always, I'm Charlomagne ten o'clock at night. I don't care people.
[43:13] Speaker 2: The wife yellow. You okay, you know what it was.
[43:16] Speaker 2: We got what you got going on? You straight, like
[43:18] Speaker 2: I'm that person. And then it's just every time I
[43:21] Speaker 2: had a birthday shout out recently and everybody said the
[43:23] Speaker 2: same thing about me. They're like, ve gonna send you
[43:25] Speaker 2: some devotions, she gonna read for your behind, and I like,
[43:28] Speaker 2: I receive that because I just I don't wanna be
[43:30] Speaker 2: nobody else but myself. And I'm funny, I'm crazy, i
[43:34] Speaker 2: act wow, But when I'm in my little place, I'm like,
[43:36] Speaker 2: give me a second. I'm just reading this. I'm doing this.
[43:39] Speaker 2: I'm so that it's it's a it's a it's a
[43:42] Speaker 2: r it's a pray. You gotta pray for those things.
[43:44] Speaker 2: Some people don't pray for you, Like God, I need
[43:46] Speaker 2: that gift. I want that gift. I wanna be able
[43:48] Speaker 2: to hug Angie and turn that she's doing a great job.
[43:51] Speaker 2: I wanna be able to turn that she's doing a
[43:54] Speaker 2: phenomenal job, even when she may feel like she's not seen,
[43:56] Speaker 2: even when she may feel like I've been in the
[43:58] Speaker 2: industry so much, I ain't get my fly. I ain't
[44:00] Speaker 2: do this, But you have, and you will, you shall
[44:03] Speaker 2: and it's coming. I don't care how time goes by.
[44:06] Speaker 2: You are deserving of all of that MM, because you
[44:09] Speaker 2: are a special being and you know you are. You know,
[44:11] Speaker 2: you're a great mother, a great wife, a great host.
[44:14] Speaker 2: You doing it for a long time. And I pray
[44:17] Speaker 2: that God give you everything your heart desires, because it's happening,
[44:20] Speaker 2: you know. So yeah it is we. I receive all that.
[44:23] Speaker 2: I receive all that accident cause you deserve it. You
[44:27] Speaker 2: deserve it. And I think a friend should do that.
[44:29] Speaker 2: You should be able to tell when your friend need
[44:30] Speaker 2: a little word work. You know, you need that, you
[44:33] Speaker 2: need that little who does it for you. Everybody says
[44:36] Speaker 2: that they be like me, who does it for you?
[44:38] Speaker 1: Mm.
[44:39] Speaker 2: You know my core friends, my tribe does it for me.
[44:43] Speaker 2: I do have my friends who she's here today, one
[44:46] Speaker 2: of 'em that speaks lifely to me all the time.
[44:49] Speaker 2: My hairstyles who's in Austin. She speaks life to me
[44:51] Speaker 2: all the time. You know, little Duval, Charlemagne, my mother,
[44:57] Speaker 2: my sister. So I do have I do have those people,
[45:01] Speaker 2: you know, and I appreciate those people, but you know,
[45:04] Speaker 2: sometimes you want those people to be there every step
[45:07] Speaker 2: of the way and everybody got their own life to live.
[45:09] Speaker 1: But you know, I feed myself back, you know, we
[45:12] Speaker 1: had It's funny because I have talked to other comedians before,
[45:14] Speaker 1: and there's always this connotation about people use comedy to heal.
[45:19] Speaker 2: Mm.
[45:21] Speaker 1: You don't seem like you have a lot have had
[45:22] Speaker 1: a lot of trauma in your life, but like people
[45:24] Speaker 1: who have h had trauma are the best comedians. Or
[45:28] Speaker 1: I watched my mother uh get abused. Mm.
[45:30] Speaker 2: You know, I watched her get through that. I watched
[45:33] Speaker 2: my mom you know, fight and fight for us, you know, everything,
[45:38] Speaker 2: and just all of that. Yeah, that's why she's the
[45:40] Speaker 2: way she is when it comes to prayer. You know,
[45:42] Speaker 2: I was watching prayer saved her out. Yeah, I I've
[45:45] Speaker 2: watched her did she talks about this. It was nothing
[45:47] Speaker 2: to hide, But I watched her go through that.
[45:50] Speaker 1: You know.
[45:50] Speaker 2: I watched us literally uh f her figured it all out,
[45:55] Speaker 2: you know with us, you know, but I had a
[45:57] Speaker 2: father who was providing. I had a father that was there,
[46:00] Speaker 2: But I also had a side where it was like,
[46:02] Speaker 2: why do y'all do that, you know, like physically abusive
[46:06] Speaker 2: yet to my mom? Yeah yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, you
[46:08] Speaker 2: know mentally physically you know, all of that, you know,
[46:12] Speaker 2: And she has a book. She has her own devotional books,
[46:14] Speaker 2: so she talks about that in her book, right and
[46:16] Speaker 2: in faith. You know. I watched my brother, you know,
[46:19] Speaker 2: get into this big car accident, this motorcycle accident. Excuse me,
[46:23] Speaker 2: and God said he had seventy the the the doctor
[46:26] Speaker 2: said he has seventy two hours to live. The doctor
[46:28] Speaker 2: in Miami City has seventy two hours to live. My
[46:30] Speaker 2: mom said, well, that's seventy two hours for me to
[46:31] Speaker 2: go fast. Now I have a nephew from my brother,
[46:34] Speaker 2: remember the kul wal. My brother could talk, mother works everything. Nothing.
[46:38] Speaker 2: You look at my brother, it is nothing out of
[46:39] Speaker 2: scratch on a inch.
[46:40] Speaker 1: Wow. Why did they think he was gonna die?
[46:42] Speaker 2: Because that's what they said. There was like they can't
[46:44] Speaker 2: He was bleeding from his head top. They had to
[46:46] Speaker 2: put n needles and tools in his head. He was
[46:49] Speaker 2: br he was eating out of his stomach. He couldn't walk,
[46:51] Speaker 2: He didn't know who was who, He didn't talk. It
[46:54] Speaker 2: was just like a lot. And then my mom said, okay,
[46:56] Speaker 2: well I have seventy two hours too fast. And she
[46:58] Speaker 2: told me the Lord taught her to get up cause
[47:00] Speaker 2: he's not onto death and she got up from that place.
[47:02] Speaker 2: And I have a brother now and he's thirty eight. Wow,
[47:06] Speaker 2: when did this happen? This was when he was sixteen.
[47:09] Speaker 2: He was a big one of those big motorcycle uh
[47:12] Speaker 2: dirt bite guys in Miami, you know, the mar King Parade.
[47:14] Speaker 2: They'd be outside. So he was one of those ones
[47:16] Speaker 2: that was doing Willie's and and he he's cracked his
[47:18] Speaker 2: helmet open and yeah, and he uh he was helicoptered
[47:22] Speaker 2: helicopter sh you know, to the air, to.
[47:24] Speaker 1: The and you were young.
[47:25] Speaker 2: I was r young, but I remember everything, and I
[47:28] Speaker 2: was like, wow, So I've watched so much, you know,
[47:31] Speaker 2: I've watched my uh step n my uh step dad
[47:34] Speaker 2: you know, talk down, you know, on me and told
[47:36] Speaker 2: me certain things I didn't like. But uh but that
[47:41] Speaker 2: just made me go even harder cause i'm'a show, you
[47:43] Speaker 2: m you know, and that's what I did. So I
[47:44] Speaker 2: have moments. But I think comedy has healed me. You know,
[47:47] Speaker 2: I think heals me every day because, like I told you,
[47:49] Speaker 2: it brings me joy, you know, it brings me joy.
[47:51] Speaker 2: It brings me to be like I remember when they
[47:53] Speaker 2: told me I couldn't do it, you know, and it
[47:56] Speaker 2: it makes me happy. So yeah, good for you, God
[47:59] Speaker 2: bless you found then, Yeah, I found that that nothing
[48:02] Speaker 2: from my past has hold me into the space where
[48:04] Speaker 2: I got to be paralyzed in it. You know, some
[48:05] Speaker 2: people would just be paralyzed, not physically but mentally. K
[48:09] Speaker 2: move like I ain't. I ain't get that right and
[48:11] Speaker 2: that I ain't ever been in that space. I've always moved.
[48:14] Speaker 1: Do you have a favorite like skit or moment or
[48:18] Speaker 1: like if somebody's just learning who you are right now
[48:20] Speaker 1: that this is the this is the one that says
[48:22] Speaker 1: this is the defining yeah moment, comedy moment for you.
[48:27] Speaker 2: It's like all of them for me. But Charon, who
[48:31] Speaker 2: is she? Sharon is? Charon is my aunt in real life?
[48:35] Speaker 1: Is there is her real name?
[48:37] Speaker 2: It's like every Jamaican Auntie is. You gotta have a Charon.
[48:40] Speaker 2: You have to have a look at Dwight. You have
[48:41] Speaker 2: to have a n A d. You have to have
[48:43] Speaker 2: you know, you.
[48:43] Speaker 1: Don't have a level like you should add a level.
[48:47] Speaker 2: Yeah never, you know, I don't. So I think for Cheon,
[48:50] Speaker 2: it was just only right to come up with. And
[48:52] Speaker 2: my aunt used to do be Cheron all the time.
[48:54] Speaker 2: She would do fish and scone fish and talk about
[48:58] Speaker 2: everbody in the neighborhood. And my grandparents was the same way
[49:00] Speaker 2: and this, so it was like all of every share
[49:03] Speaker 2: runs everybody in one. She's the aunt that gossips in
[49:05] Speaker 2: the neighborhood, talk about everybody.
[49:07] Speaker 1: But they have on in the news today.
[49:09] Speaker 2: So I was like, let me just take the little
[49:11] Speaker 2: bits and pieces of how I grew up and put
[49:13] Speaker 2: him all in one in one thing.
[49:15] Speaker 1: You know, she's the one, yeah.
[49:17] Speaker 2: Bd, miss White, then find it. I use it too,
[49:22] Speaker 2: easy access, easy access.
[49:28] Speaker 1: Do you have any mentors in the space, in the
[49:30] Speaker 1: comedy space or people that have or idols or people
[49:34] Speaker 1: that you is you know.
[49:37] Speaker 2: Brisia Webb. I talked to Bricia Webb because she has
[49:40] Speaker 2: done like one woman shows and stand up, so she
[49:43] Speaker 2: has encouraged me in that space. Charlamagne, you know comedy
[49:47] Speaker 2: was he funny donkey other day? So so he you know,
[49:51] Speaker 2: he's been a good friend to you, be a great
[49:53] Speaker 2: friend to me, a really good friend in me. Charlamagne goes.
[49:56] Speaker 1: People don't know the other side of him, Okay, I
[49:58] Speaker 1: mean I think you know he first of all, he
[50:01] Speaker 1: you he has changed very much over the years. When
[50:03] Speaker 1: he first started, he was very different and he has
[50:06] Speaker 1: grown so much. But there's also like I I only
[50:09] Speaker 1: got to know him when I started working at iHeart
[50:11] Speaker 1: and then okay, but he like welcomed me. He he'll
[50:14] Speaker 1: he'll send me a message out of nowhere with just
[50:17] Speaker 1: checking on you. And you know, like he's just he's
[50:20] Speaker 1: he's that one's.
[50:21] Speaker 2: Yeah, he's very sweet to you know. And like I said,
[50:24] Speaker 2: little Duvall and you know, me and Tiffany had will
[50:27] Speaker 2: speak time to time. I check up on her and
[50:30] Speaker 2: Gina teacher Campbell, you know, like I love her. She
[50:34] Speaker 2: she's always encouraging me to keep going. Nick Cannon. People
[50:37] Speaker 2: don't give Nick his followers at all. Nick has put
[50:42] Speaker 2: a lot of comedians on. He has made a big
[50:45] Speaker 2: platform to put comedians on on a show that is
[50:50] Speaker 2: worldwide right now, you know, Kevin Hard, Kat Williams, d
[50:54] Speaker 2: Ray Davis, you know, the list goes on and on,
[50:57] Speaker 2: and myself now pretty v now DC, Young Fly, now
[51:01] Speaker 2: be Simoe and now just hilarious now Chico being Carlos Miller,
[51:04] Speaker 2: Like he has set up this platform for us to
[51:07] Speaker 2: win and a lot of and even for artists. A
[51:09] Speaker 2: lot of people don't talk about that man m But
[51:11] Speaker 2: I'm gonna talk about him because he has definitely helped me,
[51:14] Speaker 2: you know in many ways, like his his his number
[51:18] Speaker 2: is always on go. I'm always calling him, I'm always
[51:20] Speaker 2: checking up on him. I'm always making sure I'm sending
[51:22] Speaker 2: him devotions to like you know, like that's the thing
[51:24] Speaker 2: got sending you devorces to read. So I'm like he
[51:27] Speaker 2: has literally like opened that door. He never gave up
[51:30] Speaker 2: even when I thought I was going home. He's like, Nah,
[51:31] Speaker 2: You're here for a reason. Mm, you know, always thinking
[51:34] Speaker 2: of me for tours. So yeah, he's he's special.
[51:37] Speaker 1: That's tough. Yeah, well you definitely here for a reason.
[51:40] Speaker 2: Ah.
[51:40] Speaker 1: I think maybe that's the last thing in real life?
[51:42] Speaker 1: What what is your purpose?
[51:44] Speaker 2: Healing people with my comedy and with my my heart?
[51:48] Speaker 2: You know, I think that's my purpose speaking life and
[51:53] Speaker 2: you know, making the world laugh, cause it's healing both ways,
[51:56] Speaker 2: you know. So my purpose is bigger than me and
[52:00] Speaker 2: and I think I am on the way to conquer
[52:03] Speaker 2: what I need. But the most importantly is healing the
[52:05] Speaker 2: people with my gift. I think people ask God, where's
[52:10] Speaker 2: my gift? What do I do? What's my purpose? But
[52:13] Speaker 2: we don't understand that it's already in us. We have
[52:15] Speaker 2: to activate where he already gave us. So I'm gonna
[52:18] Speaker 2: activate me speaking life, continue to do that, and me
[52:23] Speaker 2: making the war.
[52:23] Speaker 1: Lefse can't go better than that.
[52:26] Speaker 3: You cannot pretty be everybody.
