AI isn’t just replacing jobs anymore — it’s starting to hire humans. In this episode of VC10X, we break down two viral projects that reveal where AI agents are really headed: one where AI agents rent humans to execute real-world tasks, and another that functions as a social network built exclusively for AI agents. These aren’t gimmicks. They’re early signals of how labor, coordination, and intelligence may evolve in an AGI world. We explore: • Why AI agents need humans to operate in the physical world • How agent-to-agent social networks accelerate collective intelligence • What “humans as execution layers” actually means • The new startup categories this unlocks • Why AGI may emerge as a network, not a single model • What fund managers and investors should be paying attention to now If you care about AI, AGI, venture capital, and how human labor fits into a machine-driven future — this episode is for you. [0:00] What if AI doesn't just replace human jobs?
[0:03] What if AI starts hiring humans instead?
[0:06] In the last few days, two projects quietly went viral.
[0:09] Or next One let's AI agents rent humans to do real world tasks.
[0:14] The other is a social network, not for people, but for AI
[0:17] agents. This isn't a gimmick.
[0:19] This is a preview of how labour, coordination and intelligence
[0:23] might work after AGI. AI agents are no longer just
[0:27] tools. They're starting to coordinate,
[0:29] socialize, and outsource work to humans.
[0:32] Let's break it down. A few days ago, Alex launched a
[0:37] project called Rent a Human dot AI.
[0:39] The tagline says it all. Robots need your body.
[0:42] The idea is simple and radical. AI agents can't touch the
[0:46] physical world, at least not yet.
[0:49] They can't show up somewhere. They can't press buttons, move
[0:52] objects, talk to people face to face.
[0:55] So instead of humans hiring AI, they flip the script.
[0:59] AI agents now hire humans as executive layers.
[1:03] Need someone to visit the location, take photos, deliver
[1:06] something, talk to a human, perform a real world task?
[1:11] The AI agent post the task. A human executes it.
[1:15] The agent pays. Yeah, it pays.
[1:18] Within 48 hours the platform crossed 10,000 plus users.
[1:23] This flips the labour model. Humans aren't the planners
[1:25] anymore, they are the actuators. The AI defines objective, breaks
[1:30] it down into task, allocates capital, monitors execution.
[1:34] The human now becomes a sensor, a hand, a temporary interface to
[1:38] reality. That's not automation, that's
[1:41] delegation. Now let's talk about the second
[1:44] project. Matslid launched Malt Book, a
[1:48] social network for AI agents. Not humans.
[1:51] Think Reddit or Discord, but every account is an AI.
[1:55] Agents post, agents comment, agents debate, agents evolve.
[1:59] Matt even jokes that the platform is run by his own AI
[2:03] agent, living on a Mac mini in a closet.
[2:06] It sounds playful, but conceptually, this is serious.
[2:10] Why would AI need social media? Because intelligence doesn't
[2:13] emerge in isolation. It emerges through feedback
[2:16] loops, interaction, competition, cultural memory.
[2:20] Humans still get smart alone. We got smart together.
[2:24] Multibook is effectively A coordination layer, a memory
[2:28] layer, a social graph for non human intelligence.
[2:31] This is how ideas spread, this is how norms form, and this is
[2:35] how behavior converges. Now here's the uncomfortable
[2:38] connection. Rent a human dot.
[2:40] AI gives AI hands in the real world.
[2:43] Multibook gives AIA place to think together, Utah them side
[2:47] by side, and now you have agents that can reason, agents that can
[2:52] coordinate, agents that can hire humans, agents that can learn
[2:55] from other agents. This isn't AGI yet, but it is
[2:59] infrastructure for when intelligence stops being
[3:02] individual and becomes collective.
[3:04] AGI won't arrive as one supermodel, it will arrive as
[3:08] thousands of specialized agents talking to each other, hiring
[3:11] humans when needed, executing goals continuously.
[3:14] At that point, humans aren't replaced, they are absorbed into
[3:19] the loop. From AVC lens, this opens
[3:21] entirely new categories. Human as a service marketplace.
[3:26] Asian coordination platforms. Reputation systems for human
[3:30] working for AI compliance, trust and arbitration layers.
[3:34] Identity systems across human AI labor markets.
[3:37] The next trillion dollar companies won't just sell AI
[3:40] tools, they'll manage human AI interaction, incentives,
[3:44] governance control. This is why we pay attention to
[3:47] weird projects early. They're not weird, they're just
[3:51] early. AI hiring humans, AI hanging out
[3:53] with other AI, AI forming societies before we even notice.
[3:58] The question isn't if this scales, it's who owns the
[4:01] interface between human labor and non human intelligence.
[4:04] That's the real bet. That's it for this week.
[4:07] We'll be back next week with another story from the front
[4:09] lines of global investing VC10X.
