[0:00] While the world was busy watching Bitcoin crash and
[0:03] NVIDIA chop, the quietest asset in the room just went parabolic.
[0:10] I'm talking about silver. In December 2025, silver prices
[0:14] shattered the 45 year record, soaring past $60.00 an ounce.
[0:20] That's 100% gain. This year alone, it has
[0:24] officially outperformed gold, the S&P 500, and even Bitcoin in
[0:29] Q4. But this isn't just a hype
[0:32] rally. This is a mathematical breakage
[0:35] in the market. We are watching a perfect storm
[0:38] of industrial panic, a historic sharp squeeze, and the
[0:42] realization that the world is running out of one metal it
[0:45] needs to save the planet. Today we breakdown the great
[0:49] Silver squeeze of 2025. First look at the chart.
[0:54] For 14 years silver was dead money.
[0:57] It did nothing. But in late 2025 it broke out of
[1:02] a massive technical formation, the cup and handle that dates
[1:06] back to 2011. Once it crossed $50.00, the
[1:09] floodgates opened. Why?
[1:12] Because the gold to silver ratio collapsed.
[1:15] Historically, the ratio sits at around 60 is to 1:00.
[1:19] Earlier this year it was over 100 is to 1, meaning silver was
[1:24] dirt cheap. Now it's crashing below 70s to
[1:27] one ratio. When this ratio snaps back,
[1:30] silver doesn't just rise, it explodes.
[1:34] It acts like gold on steroids. But charts don't tell the whole
[1:39] story. The real driver here is physics.
[1:42] You cannot print silver, and right now the green energy
[1:46] revolution is following every ounce of it.
[1:49] Modern solar panels use 120% more silver than older models.
[1:55] The solar industry alone is now consuming nearly 20% of global
[1:59] supply. Global demand hit a record
[2:02] 680,000,000 oz for industry this year.
[2:05] But mining supply is flat, mines are old, grades are falling, and
[2:11] you can't just turn on a new silver mine overnight.
[2:15] Analysts estimate that by 2050, solar panels alone could consume
[2:19] 100% of today's global reserves. The market is finally pricing in
[2:24] the scarcity. This brings us to the financial
[2:27] violence we saw this month. For decades, the price of silver
[2:31] was said by paper contracts. In New York, traders would shock
[2:35] sell millions of Oz of silver that didn't exist.
[2:38] But in late 2025, when the physical market broke the paper
[2:43] market in China, Shanghai and London, buyers demanded physical
[2:48] delivery. They wanted the actual bars.
[2:51] The walls were empty. This triggered a massive short
[2:55] squeeze. Traders who were betting against
[2:58] silver had to panic by to cover their positions, driving the
[3:01] price vertical. It's the same mechanics as
[3:04] GameStop, but in a trillion dollar commodity market.
[3:08] But the question everyone is asking right now is is now a
[3:12] good time to buy or is it already overpriced?
[3:16] Let's try to understand this. Silver is volatile.
[3:20] A pullback to $50.00 or $55 an ounce is possible and healthy.
[3:25] While the long term thesis hasn't changed, the industrial
[3:28] shortage is real. The green energy demand is
[3:31] mandated by governments and as inflation fears return, silver
[3:36] acts as the poor man's gold. Analysts are now targeting $75
[3:41] to $100.00 an ounce by 2026. Silver is no longer just a shiny
[3:46] rock. It is a strategic energy metal
[3:49] and a commodity that is getting increasing allocation from all
[3:53] types of investors. The world is just waking up to
[3:57] how little of it we actually have.
[3:59] Thanks for watching. We'll be back next week with
[4:02] another story from the front lines of global investing VC10X.
