In this episode of The Money Mentor: Changing Lives Financially, we sit down with Tony and Kellie from Sydney, who joined the Infinity family in June 2024. After selling their home in Cairns, they’ve built an impressive portfolio of six investment properties, including some within their super and are now setting themselves up for a strong financial future. At their very first REM, Tony and Kellie made the leap to secure five investment properties, proving that when you trust the process and the people guiding you, big transformations can happen quickly. Their journey is all about discipline, planning, and having the right support to achieve their goals. Instead of being weighed down by debt and scattered accounts, Tony and Kellie are now on track with a clear budget, healthy lifestyle choices, and a strong vision for retirement. They show that creating financial freedom is not about giving things up — it’s about gaining peace of mind and designing the life you want. We talk about: ● The goals and retirement plans keeping them motivated ● How a budget gave them clarity and control ● Living a healthy lifestyle while staying on track financially ● Trusting Infinity and the process of building wealth ● What’s next for them in the property market ● The importance of planning your next financial chapter 👉 Follow the link https://bit.ly/43V2jKN to watch the free webinar

[0:00] We went to the first rim and we sat down with Lou and he said, Five, how's that?
[0:09] And I went, fucking what?
[0:11] He went, you can do five.
[0:14] And I went, okay.
[0:16] He said, you want to do that?
[0:17] I said, oh, fuck it, yeah.
[0:20] We're in.
[0:21] And one of them was just around the corner here on the Goldie.
[0:25] Yeah.
[0:25] And I think you came up and said good day.
[0:27] Yeah.
[0:28] And it was all a bit of a spin.
[0:30] Money is the root of all evil.
[0:31] The fucking lack of it is.
[0:32] Not money.
[0:33] The lack of understanding money.
[0:35] When I put that into emphasis, when I realised our psychological effect and how it hit our family, I have to be in the fucking way.
[0:41] You are now watching the Money Man Talk podcast.
[0:44] With Graham Himes.
[0:45] Graham Himes.
[0:46] Graham Himes.
[0:46] Graham Himes.
[0:47] Yeah.
[0:50] You're fucking gone.
[0:51] See ya.
[0:52] Welcome back to The Money Mentor and changing lives financially, continuing on that theme.
[0:57] We're missing Frank.
[0:59] Where's Frank?
[1:00] Frank's at home.
[1:01] Frank wasn't able to get on the plane.
[1:04] Yeah, he's dribbling.
[1:05] We're going to actually change the, in the slow, we're going to put a picture of Frank because I like Frank's size.
[1:11] But I want to introduce some special guests, Tony and Kelly.
[1:13] Welcome.
[1:14] How are we?
[1:14] Good, mate.
[1:15] Good.
[1:15] Thank you.
[1:16] Don't be nervous.
[1:16] It's my first time.
[1:19] You're a natural.
[1:19] We'll fumble through it.
[1:21] So welcome to the show.
[1:23] I guess we might start with how long have you been with Infinity for now?
[1:28] Just over a year.
[1:29] It was June last year, June 24, we did the Masterclass.
[1:33] We've had a little anniversary.
[1:34] Yeah, we had.
[1:35] Yeah, we did.
[1:37] And tell us a little, give us some back.
[1:39] So last year we've been working with Infinity, a year and a bit.
[1:42] But give us some background.
[1:43] Who are you?
[1:44] Where are you from?
[1:44] What do you do for people at home?
[1:47] You go, darling.
[1:48] What a gentleman.
[1:49] Oh, isn't he?
[1:50] He is, actually.
[1:55] Oh, gosh.
[1:56] I don't know.
[1:56] How far do you go?
[1:58] Yeah.
[1:58] When was the first date?
[2:00] Was it romantic?
[2:01] Did he pay?
[2:01] No, no.
[2:02] I'm only joking.
[2:03] I'm only joking.
[2:05] He swept me off my feet, actually.
[2:06] Oh, did he?
[2:07] He did, yeah.
[2:07] Oh, let's go then.
[2:09] Go on.
[2:10] Yeah.
[2:10] It was actually...
[2:11] I'm a Newcastle girl.
[2:12] Yeah.
[2:13] So I was actually at a friend's hens night at the races, Newcastle races.
[2:18] Okay.
[2:18] And he was up on a bucks weekend.
[2:21] funnily enough from Sydney.
[2:22] And I just saw the back of him, he had black jeans and a white t-shirt.
[2:28] And I just remember looking going, wow.
[2:30] He just remember looking at this muscular A-frame going, that's a bit of me.
[2:34] Yeah, yeah, yeah, he looked all right.
[2:35] A lot's changed.
[2:37] Nothing's changed.
[2:40] And yeah, that was pretty much it.
[2:42] Love at first sight for me too.
[2:43] Yeah, that was it.
[2:45] We hit it on.
[2:45] Well, yeah, it was a little bit more complicated than that, but I won't go in.
[2:49] Okay.
[2:49] Well, where are you guys from?
[2:51] So you were Newy, you were Sydney.
[2:53] Yeah.
[2:53] Where are you based now?
[2:54] Yeah.
[2:55] Back in Sydney now.
[2:56] Yep.
[2:58] We sort of got the shits with Sydney about COVID time.
[3:01] Yeah.
[3:01] So we sold up and went up to Cairns, thought far north Queensland was going to be our spot
[3:06] Yeah.
[3:06] And that sort of didn't work for a couple of reasons.
[3:09] Parents were getting a bit older and we had a brand new grandbaby.
[3:13] So we sold up in Cairns and back in Sydney now.
[3:16] Back in Sydney?
[3:16] I walked back for a couple of years now.
[3:18] Okay.
[3:19] Yeah, nearly.
[3:19] Yeah.
[3:20] And so just, well, I wouldn't say the kids growing up now...
[3:24] Yeah, two boys, James and Sam.
[3:26] James has got two little ones of his own.
[3:29] And Sam's still with us.
[3:31] Very proud grandmas.
[3:33] They're gorgeous.
[3:36] It's funny, I always say, like you hear so often people talk about grandchildren and how it's just the best thing in the world and you think, yeah, yeah, whatever.
[3:44] Yeah.
[3:44] Because I've never been a real baby, baby person.
[3:46] Yeah.
[3:47] But it's so true.
[3:49] It's just like you're having your kid over again.
[3:52] But the best parts of them.
[3:53] I had a gentleman's grandfather the other day say to me, your kid's kicking the ball, smash the window.
[3:59] You're a little shit.
[4:00] Your grandchildren smashed... Oh, it's all right.
[4:02] It's okay.
[4:03] I'm going to tell Dad.
[4:04] Spot on.
[4:06] Spot on.
[4:06] I thought that was a cracker when he told me that.
[4:10] It is true.
[4:10] They get away with murder.
[4:11] So back in Sydney.
[4:13] Frank, by the way, we opened the session.
[4:15] What breed is Frank?
[4:17] Frank's an Aussie bulldog.
[4:19] We had one before Frank from exactly the same breeder.
[4:23] But he was sort of the shape of a real bulldog.
[4:25] Right.
[4:26] Squat and thick.
[4:28] Yeah.
[4:29] Like yourself.
[4:30] Yeah.
[4:30] Not quite as good looking as you.
[4:32] Don't buy me a drink first.
[4:35] And that was Spud.
[4:37] And we lost Spud when we were in Cairns a little early, unfortunately.
[4:41] We've always been dog people, so we decided to get another Aussie bulldog.
[4:45] But this one was born with legs, and he's just 1,000 mile an hour.
[4:49] He's a mountain.
[4:51] Yeah, he's massive.
[4:52] He dribbles, but a bit like myself.
[4:54] Maybe that's why I get on with him so well.
[4:56] I don't know.
[4:57] Could be my sibling.
[4:57] I dribble too.
[4:58] He's awesome.
[5:01] So that's Frank.
[5:03] Well, let's get into the financial stuff.
[5:06] Pre-infinity, what was going on?
[5:10] Um, so as, yeah, as we, well, we had, we had bought that place up in Cairns.
[5:15] Yep.
[5:15] Um, and, um, we thought that was going to be our forever place.
[5:19] We had to move back here, obviously, to, um, Family, parents.
[5:22] You know, ageing parents and, you know, all that sort of stuff.
[5:24] Grandbabies.
[5:25] Yeah, grandbabies.
[5:26] Um, so we kept, we wanted to keep that home and we were Airbnb-ing it for a while.
[5:32] Yep.
[5:32] Um, which, which was okay.
[5:34] It was going okay.
[5:35] Um, yeah.
[5:36] And in the meantime, our friends, our besties, who are with Infinity, had been for a little while.
[5:41] Yeah.
[5:41] Um, she was talking to me about, you know, about retirement and she was never pushy about this.
[5:48] You know, they were always, actually, it's funny, you know, they talk about it being a bit of a cult.
[5:53] Yeah.
[5:53] And I saw, um, cause she's got photos, like framed photos of, of them with you.
[5:58] Is it the Christmas party?
[5:59] Christmas party, yeah.
[6:01] Done up to the nines and she had an award.
[6:03] Yeah, I'll never do a fucking black tie again.
[6:04] It was hot as fuck.
[6:06] That one was in Sydney, wasn't it?
[6:08] Yeah, Dalton House in Sydney.
[6:10] Oh, lovely.
[6:11] I said, you know what?
[6:11] I'm going to do a really short, tight Christmas party.
[6:14] I can do like, I don't know, 500 people or 800, whatever Dalton House could fit, right?
[6:20] And the next day was Richard Branson.
[6:22] So I'm like, I'll do a Christmas party and you get tickets.
[6:25] I'll buy the tickets to Richard Branson.
[6:28] And so we did that, but it was hilarious because when I come out on stage, I was like, oh, hey.
[6:32] And there's literally like fucking 800 infinity people going bonkers.
[6:35] They look like plants in the order.
[6:37] And I'm like, thanks for bringing your bingo club, mum.
[6:38] And the fucking room erupted.
[6:41] It was hilarious.
[6:42] But I probably didn't put content because I reckon it's probably 3,000, 4,000 people in the room.
[6:48] But I reckon 7-800 for infinity.
[6:50] Yeah, right.
[6:51] I was like, hey, I'll give everyone tickets to Branson and fuck it.
[6:53] Let's do a Christmas party the night.
[6:56] Not like last year's Christmas party.
[6:58] No, that was awesome.
[6:59] That was unreal.
[7:00] Wait till you see this year.
[7:01] Oh, I can't wait.
[7:02] Top it.
[7:03] I don't know how you can top that.
[7:07] Silly me.
[7:09] Watch this space.
[7:11] Let the baker bake.
[7:12] Yeah, we do.
[7:14] So she would have had the...
[7:16] The whole, because you do the awards and all that sort of stuff.
[7:18] Yeah, so she had an award and it was a photo with you.
[7:21] There were a couple of photos there and she did talk about it, but she wasn't trying to sell it to us.
[7:26] Yeah, yeah.
[7:26] Because she's not that sort of person.
[7:27] She's just sharing her experiences.
[7:30] Yeah, yeah.
[7:31] And I was just sort of thinking, oh, it's a bit, yeah, that's it.
[7:33] It's a bit weird.
[7:34] Who's this dude on the mantelpiece?
[7:35] Yeah, it's a bit strange.
[7:37] I didn't know I got prized possession on the mantelpiece.
[7:40] You have, you have, yeah.
[7:41] Husband photos off the ground.
[7:43] Kids are gone, pets are gone.
[7:46] Still there.
[7:47] Big fat G. Still there.
[7:50] She started talking to us about retirement.
[7:53] And just, you know, we've just got super.
[7:55] And she said, oh, so, you know, and she started talking about the numbers you'd need to have, you know, the money you need to have to live on if you want to live for 20 years.
[8:02] This is sort of the stuff she's been taught.
[8:04] Yeah.
[8:04] Right, okay.
[8:05] Yeah.
[8:05] Oh, yeah, it was all that.
[8:06] And she'd tell me about waterfall strategy and all this sort of stuff and I'm going, I don't understand.
[8:11] It's way beyond me.
[8:12] But, yeah, this retirement thing started to worry me a bit.
[8:15] Right.
[8:15] And she said, because, you know, you watch your super grow.
[8:19] It doesn't grow.
[8:19] It doesn't go anywhere.
[8:20] Yeah.
[8:21] Or it wasn't for us.
[8:23] And that's when she said, oh, you know, property and, you know, she told me all about the property biz-o.
[8:28] And so we sort of – I sort of started to –
[8:33] stress out a little bit and think, oh shit, I'll panic.
[8:35] We need to buy an investment property.
[8:36] So we spoke to the finance people that we had at the time, which we never heard from.
[8:42] And he said, yep, you've got this much, you can borrow up to 800 grand.
[8:46] So we found another place in Cairns and we bought that, which we still have.
[8:52] And it's okay, it's doing all right.
[8:54] And that's how we got into it with Simone.
[8:57] This is pre-infinity.
[8:59] Yeah, pre-infinity.
[9:00] And that's about what we had.
[9:01] We had the place.
[9:02] So she had shared her experiences, but it stressed you out a bit that you maybe weren't doing the same?
[9:07] Yeah, definitely.
[9:08] She's like, oh, well, I'm doing this, this and this.
[9:10] And I'm like, what are we doing?
[9:11] Yeah, that's it.
[9:12] Let's put a rocket up you.
[9:13] Yeah, and she wasn't selling it, which was great.
[9:16] And she's very untrustworthy with other people and her money.
[9:23] Right.
[9:24] And so we thought if she's investing in Infinity, then there's got to be something.
[9:30] But you still used your old finance guys to...
[9:33] to go, okay, we can buy us some money, bought another place in, so now we've got home in Cairns, we've got another place in Cairns.
[9:38] Yeah.
[9:39] Cairns Cairns.
[9:40] Yeah, so we thought we were going to stay there.
[9:42] Yeah.
[9:43] Oh no, that was when we were coming home.
[9:45] But yeah, so that was starting to freak me out because I'm thinking, well, I've got two big mortgages to pay off now.
[9:50] How are we going to manage that?
[9:52] Okay.
[9:53] And then, yeah, she just actually, she just shared on Facebook the link to your free webinar.
[9:58] The webinar, okay.
[10:01] And I just thought, what the hell?
[10:02] Why not?
[10:03] I'll just have a listen.
[10:04] And that was it, the end of it.
[10:05] And you probably just listened to me abuse everyone.
[10:07] Yeah, we did.
[10:07] And it's funny you say that.
[10:08] Get that fucking bastard off.
[10:09] That's what attracted him.
[10:11] Because...
[10:12] It was, 10 minutes in.
[10:14] You were saying, fuck them off, give them their money back, and I want to listen to your shit.
[10:17] And he's gone, yes, this is my kind of guy.
[10:21] So I'm crying with laughter because I find it so amusing.
[10:25] I just don't have time.
[10:26] You know, it's like you invest good money.
[10:28] Like even on the paid ones, people are like, they get on there.
[10:31] They want to learn.
[10:32] And they're the expert.
[10:33] Yeah.
[10:34] And I'm like, bro, talk to me when you're worth a couple of hundred million.
[10:37] Otherwise, fuck off.
[10:38] Jog on.
[10:39] Like I just find it so hell But everyone thinks I drive a Hilux Because they're You know like I know boats Like It's you know That's just That's life right That's people So I don't So you all know I don't suffer falls too well Like And fair to say It was ten minutes into that And you were losing your shit At some Pumpkin Who was just Had no idea And
[11:00] And I went, yeah.
[11:02] Yeah.
[11:02] If Simone and Mark are in... Yeah.
[11:04] ...and this is you...
[11:05] The Intons, yeah.
[11:06] ...it's my type of dude.
[11:07] Yeah.
[11:07] Yes.
[11:08] And I think originally you told Simone, just go away because you're not ready for us.
[11:12] Because she kept on asking you questions.
[11:13] Yeah.
[11:13] She wasn't trusting enough.
[11:15] Yeah.
[11:15] And I think, yeah... And again, like, there's a lot of trust in anything, right?
[11:19] You're a mechanic.
[11:19] You trust your family's livelihood.
[11:21] Yeah.
[11:21] They fix the fucking car properly and it's roadworthy, right?
[11:24] Mm-hmm.
[11:24] Same with money...
[11:26] We trust people with everything.
[11:27] Money is the big thing that we don't trust anyone with.
[11:29] But it's your money.
[11:31] No one else should be able to touch it.
[11:33] So that's the big one.
[11:34] But in any good business, if I can tell, and she wasn't going to ask her, but if I can tell people they're not ready, my best advice is go do what I've taught you yourself for free.
[11:44] do whatever you're capable of with the information.
[11:47] When you see it's real to a certain return, then you will be prepared to trust a bit more.
[11:53] Then I can help.
[11:54] But until then, you either have to trust that one and one equals two or you have to go and see that one and one will get to two.
[12:01] Until then, we can't help someone.
[12:02] And we don't need to.
[12:03] We're correct.
[12:04] We've got so many people that want help.
[12:06] You get to be an arsehole.
[12:07] You get to be picky.
[12:08] Yeah, absolutely.
[12:10] Lucky us.
[12:11] That's great.
[12:12] Okay.
[12:13] So...
[12:14] So she's put the link up, you've watched that, you've come and done the masterclass, you've listened to me fucking erupt, you've signed up obviously, applied.
[12:22] Yeah.
[12:23] Where to from there?
[12:24] Yeah.
[12:27] That first REM, when we'd seen Ali, who has moved on from, I think he went back to Dubai or somewhere over there in the sand.
[12:39] he mapped out what was possible but that's about it he said you can sell your home in Cairns or do this or do that and we were unsure as what to do and we went to the first rim and we sat down with Lou and he said five how's that and I went
[12:59] fucking what he went you can do five and okay he said you want to do that I said duh fuck it yeah we're in and one of them was just around the corner here on the Goldie yeah and I think you came up and said good I yeah and it was all a bit of a spin but so we went from zero to
[13:20] Yeah, you've got one area where you've got broad water views, you've got fucking views all up the Gold Coast.
[13:27] Stunning.
[13:28] So that was an understanding of why we sold our home in Cairns.
[13:34] So unlocking that true capacity to go, right, have this home in Cairns, Airbnb it, have the other place in it, or have five investments.
[13:42] Yeah.
[13:43] And you're back in Sydney anyway.
[13:44] Yeah.
[13:45] Okay.
[13:45] Okay.
[13:47] that's a big call like all right we're in i suppose it helps with mark and simone having already worked with us for a while but it's still it's a big call to go all right well you know what yeah sorry sweetheart no it was it was are we in
[14:02] are we trusting the process or are we just still a bit hesitant?
[14:07] And, mate, I'm black or white, you know?
[14:10] And so we're in.
[14:12] But, yeah, big, big move.
[14:14] And it's nice to sit back and go, oh, shit, you know, we've got a five-property journey to start.
[14:20] Yeah.
[14:21] But, yeah, that was a bit daunting.
[14:22] Yeah, that blew us away, didn't it?
[14:23] Yeah, it did.
[14:24] That really blew us away.
[14:25] I think I had to pick my jaw up off the floor.
[14:26] Your fucking head was as full as a centipede sock drawer just going, what...
[14:30] Tell people what you do for work.
[14:33] Give them a bit of an inkling for what you do.
[14:35] I work in construction, cranes, the cranes on top of the buildings in the city, put them up and pull them down.
[14:40] Pretty much worked in with cranes pretty much all my life.
[14:43] And go all right.
[14:45] And I'm a receptionist, so admin, office work.
[14:49] For a plant hire company, actually.
[14:50] There you go.
[14:51] Very construction-y.
[14:52] Leaky plants, yeah.
[14:53] Okay.
[14:54] And what about retirement?
[14:57] So you said you started stressing about retirement before.
[14:59] So, okay, now we're going to go, right, we're going to get five investment properties.
[15:03] We're going balls to the wall, whatever the numbers make sense.
[15:07] Got a strategy.
[15:08] What about super?
[15:09] Because you were initially, you said you were worried when you talked to Simone, you worried about retirement.
[15:12] Yeah, because I guess it was just a matter of like, well, we're mid to late 50s.
[15:18] And so, you know, realistically, I don't want to be working when I'm 70, 75 years old.
[15:25] So, you know, within the next 10 years, we would like to retire.
[15:30] You know, the numbers that Simone was sort of, well, people throw around, it's one to two, three million dollars you need to live on.
[15:38] If you want to live for 20 years or so after you retire, you need a lot of money.
[15:41] And the super just wasn't cutting it.
[15:43] And I would look every now and then and...
[15:46] it just wasn't really going anywhere.
[15:48] It wasn't growing all that much.
[15:52] So I guess, yeah, I guess the sort of thing, oh, shit, we need to have an investment property so we can live off the rent is what I was thinking.
[16:00] Okay.
[16:00] And now you've got a couple of properties in superannuation.
[16:02] Oh, we've got three in super, yeah.
[16:04] Okay.
[16:04] So we've got like six properties in total now, some in super, some in your...
[16:09] So we've got pre-retirement income, tax benefits, wealth.
[16:12] We've got super as well.
[16:13] So sort of half and half, right?
[16:14] Sort of spread it a bit.
[16:16] Yeah, yeah.
[16:16] Not bad.
[16:17] What's the big picture goal?
[16:22] At the moment, is buy a property up here somewhere.
[16:26] Okay.
[16:26] In the hinterland of the Goldie.
[16:27] Yeah.
[16:28] A bit of land, let Frank run around in, a shed that I can play in.
[16:32] I don't know how fast he'll run.
[16:34] Oh, you'd be surprised.
[16:35] Is he quick, is he?
[16:36] He is very quick.
[16:37] Oh, okay.
[16:38] He's crazy quick.
[16:40] I can't control him actually.
[16:42] I can't take him for walks because he just...
[16:44] Pulls my shoulder out of its socket.
[16:46] But I guess that, to buy a property and to have a passive income so we can afford to, if I want to do a couple of days a week work and give my darling wife the lifestyle that she deserves.
[17:00] Oh, stop it, you smoothie.
[17:02] We get that on camera.
[17:04] Yeah, no, no.
[17:05] Sorry, the battery went flat.
[17:09] So a bit of the strategy maybe then if we look at the portfolio building might be to as each of the properties has had a bit of time in the market, oh that one's made a couple hundred grand, liquidate that, buy two more, move that up.
[17:23] We start to get a bit of an income stream like Beck and I go, well we'll sell that one.
[17:27] There's a big chunk of capital, half of it's tax free at the moment.
[17:30] Let's see what the government does.
[17:34] So there's a bit of a strategy there.
[17:38] Well, I don't know.
[17:39] That's what you'll have to... We're leaving up to you guys.
[17:42] I don't know.
[17:42] It's all up to you.
[17:43] I'm trusting the process.
[17:44] Mind you, you want to be in Sydney a while with family and grandbabies and parents.
[17:48] A couple of years.
[17:49] Yeah.
[17:49] So this isn't a right now thing, right?
[17:51] No, no.
[17:52] 100%.
[17:52] Okay.
[17:52] The plan, I guess, the rough plan at the moment, and we're trusting you guys in the process, it would be five years.
[18:01] Okay.
[18:01] Okay.
[18:01] yeah and yeah that would be ideal listen I can work I've got work up here to come to if I want it okay but grandbabies and grandparents are probably priority at the moment okay and I don't think we're far enough down our journey for us to to move up here but that's what we would like to do
[18:21] Yeah, because selling Cairns was great.
[18:25] It's freed us up somewhat, but to buy a property in Sydney is just, well, you would know.
[18:30] So you're rent-vesting at the moment.
[18:32] Yes, renting.
[18:32] So you're sold in Cairns, multiple investments, and renting in Sydney back with family, but have multiple properties that you've invested in, rather than one big one in Sydney.
[18:43] Yeah, that's right.
[18:44] Makes sense.
[18:46] So, which is a good point, which leads me to ask,
[18:49] What are some of the things you've learnt on this journey in the last year or so that you could share with people listening and tuning in from home?
[18:57] Oh, yeah, I've got the big, beautiful home in Cairns.
[19:00] Went and bought another one around the corner in Cairns and I'm the king of Cairns.
[19:04] I'm the queen of Cairns.
[19:05] And there's nothing wrong with that, right?
[19:08] You're a beautiful part of the world.
[19:09] What are some of the things you could share with people at home around
[19:13] You know, you're budgeting or you're investing or just in general financially.
[19:17] Because it's funny, we don't know what we don't know.
[19:19] And I know it's a saying we say a lot, but you don't know what you don't know.
[19:26] No.
[19:26] You really need to let that sit for people.
[19:28] What are some tips you could give to people tuning in?
[19:32] I think a massive, if you're talking about investing, a massive thing is doing the research on the areas that you're going to invest in.
[19:42] In hindsight, I wouldn't buy in Cairns at the moment.
[19:48] I did have a look around and did look at the capital growth of all growing places and it wasn't doing too badly in the scheme of things.
[19:57] Maybe it wouldn't.
[19:57] That was just what we did at the time.
[19:59] So you had a basic look.
[20:01] Like you were like, oh, well, what's Sydney doing?
[20:03] What's Melbourne doing?
[20:05] A pretty basic, very basic look.
[20:07] Yeah, Kansas doing well, a lot of people have come here.
[20:09] Yeah, okay.
[20:10] But it wasn't a very Doc Wilson, economist, data, scientific approach.
[20:17] It's gone up a bit.
[20:17] I think that us buying up there and for it to go up was more us than her elephants really that we've got ahead.
[20:26] And so I guess doing a bit more research, I think the budget thing that you guys push has really, really helped us to knuckle down.
[20:34] So you guys are still running a budget?
[20:37] Yeah, 100%.
[20:37] We're not the best budgeters at all.
[20:39] We're really not.
[20:40] I'm not very good.
[20:41] What's the budget each week?
[20:42] But search shit loads better than, pardon?
[20:44] What's the budget each week?
[20:45] $7.50.
[20:46] How often do you stick to it?
[20:49] Oh, most of the time.
[20:51] It's not when we come up here because we drink too much.
[20:53] You still had a bigger alcohol budget.
[20:57] Yeah, please, can we have that?
[20:59] The last couple of months have been pretty tough from my family's perspective and Kelly's as well.
[21:06] So we had spoken to Shonny about blowing the budget a couple of times, which is no efficient.
[21:12] That's not blowing the budget.
[21:14] That's deliberate.
[21:16] That's strategic.
[21:17] That's a lot.
[21:17] They're life events.
[21:18] There's reasons.
[21:19] That makes like, that's not you just blowing the butt.
[21:21] You've actually spoke.
[21:22] So to give context, obviously, you've got Shani there, who's your relationship manager or coach financially.
[21:29] So you didn't blow the butt.
[21:30] You actually had a...
[21:31] a smart, mature conversation with your coach to go, hey, we've got some stuff going on, we think we need to spend a bit more, we're going to spend a bit more, and how do we work through those?
[21:41] Is that what's going on?
[21:41] Yeah.
[21:42] Yeah.
[21:42] So you didn't really just blow the budget.
[21:45] It feels, because we are so invested in the budget and the journey and the process, it feels as though we're cheating on Shonny.
[21:54] Yeah, yeah, yeah.
[21:54] Well, because she's looking for us.
[22:00] So yeah, that would be the biggest thing that I've learnt is that, because I could quite easily go out and spend 30 grand on a motorbike or buy this or buy that and then I don't do that anymore.
[22:11] And I do budget and I don't drink as much.
[22:15] Why the shift?
[22:17] Why if you're sitting, I mean you guys are sitting on cash at the moment, right?
[22:20] Like why the shift to not go, oh yeah, 30 grand on a bike, go buy an old car, do it up.
[22:25] Why the shift?
[22:27] To get to where we want to get to as soon as we can get there, I think.
[22:31] Yeah, and to not worry.
[22:33] Like, I have always, and Tony's always been on good money, like in the scheme of things, but I always worry about the bills, the, you know, paying this and paying that, and we can't afford that, we can't afford to do that, we can't do that, can't go on holidays, you know, all that sort of stuff.
[22:50] And just to be able to not worry about it.
[22:53] So you don't worry about bills at all anymore?
[22:55] Don't, because there's always money left.
[22:57] Like, people talk about the sweep at the end of the month.
[22:59] I don't know where this money comes from, like.
[23:02] Where has this money been?
[23:04] You didn't drink it.
[23:06] That's right, yeah.
[23:07] We give it a good nudge, I've got to tell you.
[23:09] A couple of bottles of wine sitting in the garage.
[23:12] Oh, my God, yeah.
[23:13] Yeah, there's a few bottles of wine.
[23:14] Oh, dear.
[23:15] Yeah, so it's just that not stressing about it all the time.
[23:20] So do you think having that structure, obviously, I mean, obviously you guys wanted this, you approached us, and having that structure...
[23:27] And seeing, how long was it before you started going, oh, shit, there's money here, oh, there's money.
[23:32] Like, how long did it take you as a couple to adapt to the structure?
[23:37] Almost instantly.
[23:38] The structure adaptation was, yeah, yeah.
[23:44] Yeah, oh, well, yeah, you know.
[23:45] Well, always allowed 100.
[23:47] That camera's still rolling, John.
[23:49] We got that too.
[23:50] No, no, very quickly.
[23:52] Very quickly.
[23:53] Very quickly.
[23:55] Yep.
[23:55] Yeah.
[23:56] It did take some.
[23:57] It was a bit harder.
[23:58] Yeah, it was.
[23:59] I guess because...
[24:00] Working in the construction industry, it's always easy to go and have a beer with the boys after work.
[24:07] I don't do that every day, and I never did.
[24:09] But just to be able to do it, it was eating into my FFF, right?
[24:14] And we had a budget, and I'm going, no, I can't.
[24:18] So I'd just buy my box of beer, and I'd go home and sit in the corner and play with the dog and do nothing.
[24:25] That's not quite true.
[24:26] No, that's it.
[24:27] But it didn't take long enough.
[24:28] It's been 75 hard as well.
[24:30] Yeah.
[24:30] How'd that go?
[24:31] Oh, that was awesome.
[24:32] Oh, my God.
[24:33] That was life-changing.
[24:34] That was cool to do it together.
[24:35] Yeah.
[24:36] It's fucking hard.
[24:37] It's fucking hard.
[24:39] Yeah, if you don't have a support person, if somebody's just sitting there laughing at you while they're having a beer, that would be difficult.
[24:46] But do you know what?
[24:46] No, that was awesome.
[24:48] It was.
[24:48] I mean, I drink every day, right?
[24:50] I have pretty much all.
[24:52] But to stop drinking on the day...
[24:54] Cold turkey.
[24:55] It wasn't a drama.
[24:56] Yeah.
[24:57] And I say, it's not like you have to do it.
[25:00] But if you want, if you can't go two, three months once in your life without having a fucking drink, you've got a problem.
[25:05] Yeah, yeah.
[25:06] I turned it off.
[25:07] I went, cool, all right, sorry, boys, I'm not drinking.
[25:09] I'm training on this.
[25:09] We're spending time together.
[25:11] Like, everyone's capable of doing it if they're like, I don't want to.
[25:14] Yeah, yeah.
[25:15] Like...
[25:15] If you can't do it, that's really bad, that's scary.
[25:18] You lack that willpower.
[25:19] That 45 minutes in the morning was doing my tits in a bit.
[25:22] Was it?
[25:23] Because I had to get up, sort of, I get up early anyway.
[25:25] You'd be early, early, right?
[25:27] And it was early, early.
[25:28] But it was all right.
[25:29] It's doable.
[25:30] You know, it's not, it was unreal.
[25:32] Loved it.
[25:33] And the video input and the community that we made and the friends that we made, who I've never met, but met in my life.
[25:42] We've seen it at the Christmas party this year.
[25:44] No, it was cool.
[25:45] Yeah.
[25:46] Good experience.
[25:46] I wanted to do it again.
[25:48] Yeah.
[25:48] That 60.
[25:49] 60 strong, yeah.
[25:50] 60 strong.
[25:51] Yeah.
[25:51] Yeah, it's a bit difficult for me work-wise at the moment.
[25:53] Not impossible, but yeah, we'll do it again for sure.
[25:56] Yeah, I'm doing it at the moment.
[25:57] Like day two back in, we just got back from the States.
[26:00] Yeah, right.
[26:00] And I'm back in the States in like 62 days.
[26:03] So I'm like, right, bang in and I've got podcasts and RAM and all the, and I'm like, nah, I'm just fucking doing it.
[26:11] I'm doing it.
[26:12] Oh, well done.
[26:12] That's a big call.
[26:13] I will find that difficult.
[26:14] I've called it Fat Camp.
[26:17] Put on 18 kilos again.
[26:19] I'm like, I've got to stop this yo-yo shit.
[26:21] It's just got to become a new sort of lifestyle.
[26:23] You know what I mean?
[26:23] So I'm like, right.
[26:24] Go harder, but I just need to maintain it this time.
[26:26] It's gone too long.
[26:28] Yeah, it's... Yeah, it's hard to... That's what we said in the middle of it, and I suppose everyone says it.
[26:36] At the end of it, let's just keep it.
[26:37] We don't have to do the 75 hard.
[26:39] We can just...
[26:40] Once a day, go for a walk together.
[26:41] Yeah, yeah, yeah.
[26:42] And we did fuck off.
[26:43] So that's the problem with the gimmick of it.
[26:46] Like, if you don't maintain at least two or three of the habits, then it's like fucking... Then you remember how good you felt and how great it was.
[26:52] Yeah.
[26:53] And then you get even more depressed because you're not feeling...
[26:56] That's the same as your money, right?
[26:58] Yeah, I am.
[27:00] Oh, fuck, I deserve it, or this, or that.
[27:03] It's hard.
[27:04] Yeah, and we would go out a lot too, hey?
[27:06] Like we would eat out most weekends.
[27:08] And that's a lot of money.
[27:11] That's expensive, especially in Sydney.
[27:14] When you see it in your bank account after you're not spending it, it's pretty easy to not go out.
[27:20] Would you say you got a bit addicted to it?
[27:22] Addicted to?
[27:23] Yeah.
[27:23] So they're like following the process and the structure and seeing the money there.
[27:27] I'd say so, yeah.
[27:28] Yeah, I'm checking it all the time.
[27:30] I'm going, cool, what's this month's sweep going to be?
[27:34] Can't wait for the end of the month to find out how much we can push us on.
[27:36] Are you still living, buddy?
[27:37] Are you still going, we're going overseas, we're going on a holiday.
[27:40] Like, are you still having fun?
[27:42] We are, actually.
[27:43] We're going on white Christmas holiday this year.
[27:45] Where are you going?
[27:47] We're going to New York for a few days and then Banff for a few days and then Hawaii on the way back to Thorout.
[27:54] Sucks to be you.
[27:56] Juice.
[27:57] Do you know what?
[27:58] Sorry.
[27:58] No, that's okay.
[28:00] It was a little bit sneaky, but when we sold...
[28:05] When we sold the house, we were moving in with Tony's mum and dad at Glenory, their home, family home.
[28:12] It's our mild neck of the woods at Bella Vista.
[28:14] Oh, yeah, not far.
[28:15] Yeah, the office is just down the road still.
[28:18] Yes, it is.
[28:18] We've been in there a few times.
[28:19] Beautiful part of the world.
[28:20] Yeah, it is lovely.
[28:21] Yeah, it's not bad.
[28:22] Getting a little bit over the top now though.
[28:26] But so we wanted to do, they have a granny flat on their property and we were living in there to help them look after the place.
[28:33] And we said we'd like to do a few things.
[28:36] I needed to, you know, the bathroom, it was so old and outdated.
[28:39] I said, just wanted to do a few things.
[28:40] So can we use some of that money?
[28:42] So we actually had 20 grand put aside.
[28:45] His mum and dad have since sold that place and they've moved into, like, care.
[28:49] Yeah.
[28:50] So we still had the 20 grand sitting there, so I've been a bit sneaky and I've used that on airfares and accommodation overseas.
[28:56] So the 20 grand's gone, but, yeah, not on what we said we were going to use it for.
[29:01] But yes, we are still living.
[29:02] I feel guilty about... And I think that's... We're so invested in the process that I feel guilty about going on a holiday, but, you know, you've got to live.
[29:11] I mean, we don't blow it on...
[29:14] No.
[29:14] Silly stuff?
[29:15] Yeah.
[29:15] You know, like VV track suits and stuff like that?
[29:18] I've got a couple of them.
[29:19] Oh, I have good of them.
[29:20] I see.
[29:20] Timmy's got a pair.
[29:23] I only wear it for the Timmy's.
[29:24] Yeah.
[29:24] I've got the rings.
[29:26] I've got all the buckets.
[29:28] I've seen it.
[29:29] All the gear and no idea like Timmy.
[29:31] Love it.
[29:33] Oh, dear.
[29:34] So...
[29:35] So what would you say to people?
[29:37] So people listening and going, okay, yeah, okay, we've got, we're moving in with parents at the moment or we're helping with grandchildren or we're helping our ageing parents because they've got to go in.
[29:47] Like there's some real life shit in here, right?
[29:49] Big decisions to go, fuck, we're going to pack up in cans and come back.
[29:52] And there's some huge life decisions in there, right?
[29:56] So what would you say?
[29:57] What's some other things you could help people tuning in at home with around
[30:01] you know like instant i'm hearing a lot of here about delayed gratification and being invested in the process and instant gratification what else could you give people some tips on
[30:14] You guys have done it well.
[30:15] Have we?
[30:16] You sound like you've got a good balance between I'm still going to go and have a beer with the boys, but I'm going to stick to a budget or I'm going to buy me box and throw the ball with the dog and have three beers in the afternoon.
[30:27] Sounds like you've got a good balance of when to and when not to, as opposed to just all the time.
[30:33] Yeah, I think it's having fun.
[30:35] For me, over the last 12 months, it's realising that there is an achievable goal.
[30:41] Yeah.
[30:42] And now we have a process to get there.
[30:45] Right.
[30:46] It's funnelling all our funds, all our energy into that.
[30:54] To that goal.
[30:55] Yeah, for sure.
[30:56] Just middle of the target.
[30:58] Not, there's life gets in the way, right?
[31:01] Yeah.
[31:02] So you've got to leave, you've got to go on your holidays, you've got to do what you've got to do.
[31:06] But understanding that if you buy something silly or you go on a big holiday or you get a new car or something, then that kicks that goal a little further down the road.
[31:17] So how fair dinkum are you at trying to get there?
[31:21] And being focused on that, I think.
[31:24] And it's all of that.
[31:25] It's the process.
[31:27] It's the saving.
[31:28] It's the sticking to your budget.
[31:29] It's still living.
[31:31] It's the listening to you guys.
[31:33] Yeah, yeah, yeah.
[31:34] You guys have built a size... You're up over $7 million now in a portfolio.
[31:38] You've built a sizeable position.
[31:39] Yeah, who the thunk?
[31:41] My God.
[31:42] That blows me away.
[31:44] The thing that Kelly and I have both spoken about is...
[31:47] When Lou said five, right, and something that took a while to sink in, as he said, you guys have worked really hard for that.
[31:57] And I thought, whatever, everyone does that.
[32:00] Everyone gets up early.
[32:01] It just works, right?
[32:03] And then we sat down and we thought, you know what?
[32:06] we fucking have and it's not oh we deserve but if you've worked hard for it you should be able to enjoy the fruits of your labour and with you guys you're helping us achieve it I love it didn't it scare you?
[32:22] five houses at once I'm sure I heard your sphincter from the other room I stood up and the seat came with me
[32:33] That's what I got the bill for.
[32:35] And the upholstery.
[32:38] Yeah, I think so.
[32:39] Yeah, I was thinking, I still do, how the hell are we going to pay for that?
[32:43] Like, how are we going to pay that back?
[32:45] Because it's funny, right?
[32:46] Because if you go back, and no disrespect to the old firm, they're like, yeah, look, you can borrow 800 grand and off you go.
[32:53] Depending on the numbers you put in and how you move the numbers and your assets and your income, depends on what the computer tells you can do.
[33:00] Yeah.
[33:01] as opposed to a strategy versus income expenses capacity.
[33:05] It's like, well, what if we did sell cans?
[33:08] What if we didn't sell cans?
[33:09] What if we did keep that?
[33:10] There's obviously multiple strategies you can adopt.
[33:14] So you've been told one, and then all of a sudden you're like, well, no, it's five or six.
[33:18] It's one plus five.
[33:19] Yeah, that's...
[33:20] Which is just...
[33:22] astronomically different or very very lazy on behalf of the previous firm.
[33:28] Looking back at it, I agree.
[33:30] You can get something for 800 grand, I'll do a loan for you.
[33:33] Yeah.
[33:33] Like just not thinking big enough.
[33:35] That was it.
[33:35] Yeah.
[33:36] Yeah.
[33:36] That's what he said.
[33:37] And that's paid off in 25 years.
[33:38] Yeah.
[33:39] And then we do it.
[33:40] Probably not.
[33:41] Yeah.
[33:42] Yeah, that's right.
[33:43] Yeah.
[33:44] So yeah, it was scary but trusting in the process and having the people that
[33:49] can sit down with Lou and Chantel and Ali and Zachy, who we've got since, and having those people that you can get hold of any time and having a chat to them.
[33:59] And if you've got worries about it, they're there to...
[34:03] And you go over your accountant and your financial planner.
[34:06] There's a lot of fucking moving.
[34:08] It's not simple.
[34:09] It's not simple.
[34:09] There's a lot of fucking moving parts.
[34:10] And it's a massive relief for me because I can't do that.
[34:14] I can't – I can do a spreadsheet, you know, and I can work out what we're spending and what we're earning and, you know, work out the basics.
[34:22] But to do all this sort of – I've got no idea.
[34:24] I've got no idea.
[34:25] I can't dig a hole or fucking put the bins out or put the toilet seat down.
[34:29] So, you know.
[34:29] But I'm good at this.
[34:30] That's all.
[34:31] I'm just sticking to my guns.
[34:32] You're extremely good at this.
[34:33] Don't ask me to do anything else.
[34:34] That's all right.
[34:35] I'll be like Dennis DeNudo in the castle.
[34:37] You remember what you said?
[34:38] He's slipping the barrister notes like, want a drink of water?
[34:41] Want a drink of water?
[34:43] Buy an answer, really?
[34:43] Yep, sweet.
[34:45] Ask me to go build a flat pack?
[34:46] I'll be like Dennis DeNudo.
[34:47] Fucking useless.
[34:48] I mean, one or two of the rems we've been to before, there's people who are signed up with you guys that are so...
[34:57] invested and understand your whole process, right?
[35:00] And talk about the this and the that, and I'm just gonna, right?
[35:04] Yeah.
[35:05] So, and you have always said you can be as involved or not involved as you want on the process, whatever you like.
[35:13] Ask me about old vintage motorcycles or ask me about cranes and I'll tell you.
[35:19] You're all over it.
[35:21] It's what we're paying you guys for to do it and I'm just here sitting back going.
[35:27] Eventually, we've all got to pay someone to do something in life.
[35:30] Dentist, doctor, hair, whatever.
[35:32] It's just money's the hard one because you're trusting somebody with your family's livelihood.
[35:36] It is a big deal.
[35:37] It's a big deal.
[35:38] And that's where I think that people should...
[35:40] should explore, they should learn, they should fucking immerse themselves, do free webinars, read books, whatever.
[35:46] But it is hard because books age and there's always a sales pitch.
[35:50] We're a business, we're commercial.
[35:53] But you make money, we make money.
[35:55] I do a good job for you, you fucking make me look good.
[35:57] I do a bad job, fuck, different story, right?
[36:00] So, but it is hard.
[36:01] There's so much shit out there now because everyone's got a podcast, everyone's got a YouTube, everyone's got something.
[36:07] There's so much information.
[36:09] It is very hard to sift through the shit.
[36:12] Yeah.
[36:13] Very hard.
[36:14] Yeah.
[36:15] Yeah.
[36:15] You might have Simone and like a beer.
[36:17] Oh, mate.
[36:19] Well, we won that.
[36:21] We won one of those 11 teen hill things, right?
[36:23] So you got wine coming out of your backside.
[36:25] Oh, you took them to it?
[36:26] They came down with us.
[36:27] Of course.
[36:28] Yeah.
[36:29] We wouldn't be here if it weren't for them.
[36:30] Yeah.
[36:31] So how was that experience?
[36:32] Oh my God.
[36:34] That was just... You did the whole chopper and the chairman's booth.
[36:38] That was the food.
[36:40] Outstanding.
[36:41] The wine?
[36:42] Outstanding, yeah.
[36:43] I have never eaten anything like that.
[36:45] It was not a massive wine connoisseur, but the wine was exceptional.
[36:50] I think that one of them just got third best wine in Australia.
[36:55] Wouldn't surprise me.
[36:56] Okay.
[36:56] Which is wild for such a young winery.
[36:59] The Australian's got some pretty decent wineries.
[37:02] So that's a big call.
[37:03] Yeah.
[37:04] Actually, I think we've got the big event down there this weekend.
[37:06] Yeah.
[37:06] Yes.
[37:07] I'll be around fucking working.
[37:09] But everyone else will be having a fucking weekend.
[37:10] I think it's meant to be pissing down down there.
[37:12] Oh, I hope so.
[37:13] It's supposed to be freezing.
[37:16] Freezing.
[37:17] Yeah.
[37:18] Well done, guys.
[37:19] How do you feel a year into the journey?
[37:25] Thankful.
[37:26] Incredibly thankful, incredibly lucky.
[37:29] Still feel a little bit guilty thinking we don't deserve this or I don't deserve this but then I have to lose it.
[37:34] But you've worked hard for it.
[37:35] We've worked hard for it.
[37:36] Yeah, I keep having to kick myself.
[37:38] And so now we have.
[37:39] Ever since we were old enough to work, we've worked and we've done well.
[37:43] We could have done a lot better had we not blown lots of money over the years but...
[37:47] You've got to live to.
[37:47] That's hindsight.
[37:48] There's a balance.
[37:49] There's a balance.
[37:50] Yeah, trying to find that balance at home.
[37:52] You know, we're only young in the journey, so yeah, trying to find that balance.
[37:56] I think we're getting there.
[37:57] Feel a bit of, what do you call it, fear of missing out because we're not going to REMS.
[38:01] Because we're like hot with you guys.
[38:04] Yeah, you're at capacity, yeah.
[38:06] That's a better way of describing it.
[38:07] You can come to REM if you want.
[38:09] Yeah, we are.
[38:10] Yeah.
[38:11] When's the next one, Lou?
[38:12] You coming this weekend, though?
[38:14] Yeah, we are.
[38:14] Oh, there you go.
[38:15] Oh, yeah, I'm stoked.
[38:17] Keep your pants on, buddy, all right?
[38:19] I feel like an impact.
[38:21] He can't promise anything.
[38:22] Oh, well, you know, whatever.
[38:23] We'll see.
[38:25] Yeah, very excited.
[38:26] Very, very excited for the future.
[38:28] I'm actually really excited to see where we are in, like, say, 12 months' time, too, because a couple of those properties will have settled and may have grown in value.
[38:37] Who knows?
[38:38] And then...
[38:39] Yeah, to see what sort of manoeuvring happens.
[38:41] That would be the nice fun bit.
[38:43] Yeah, that's...
[38:44] So have you started passing this down at all to the kids?
[38:49] Yeah.
[38:49] Because they've got mortgages or they're saving for houses?
[38:53] What's...
[38:54] They're late teens, early 20s.
[38:57] Yep.
[38:57] So... Just starting their journey.
[38:59] Yeah.
[38:59] One's a third year apprentice.
[39:01] Yep.
[39:01] He earns less than a McDonald's check out chick.
[39:04] And the other...
[39:05] They've got to do something to fix trades or we're going to lose trades.
[39:07] Agreed.
[39:08] Well, they're both tradies.
[39:09] They're both car people.
[39:10] You can't pay apprentices two parts of fuck all and not let them fill their cars, pay rent.
[39:14] Doesn't make sense.
[39:15] They can't survive.
[39:16] They can earn a quid.
[39:17] I mean, they've always earned nothing for the first four years and then been able to.
[39:21] So how we fix that, I don't know, but I agree.
[39:25] Yeah, we have started speaking to them about it.
[39:29] Not berating them, not saying you've got to do this, you've got to do that, because they're two strong-minded boys, you know.
[39:35] They take after their mother a little bit.
[39:38] Camera's on for that one, mate.
[39:40] But yeah, they hear it.
[39:43] And Simone's oldest boy, Harry, his best mates with our youngest boy, Sam.
[39:50] And Harry's got very good saving... Financial skills?
[39:56] From his mum, yeah.
[39:58] She's always been good at budgeting.
[39:59] That's washing over.
[40:00] So our boys hear it and they see it more than anything.
[40:05] Yeah, well they don't do what you say, they watch what you do and they'll decide whether they copy it or not.
[40:10] Yeah, I think so.
[40:11] But we'll help if we can.
[40:12] Yeah, they do ask questions, especially James, the older boy.
[40:17] So he's the one with the two little Lees and so they're renting at the moment.
[40:21] And Steph's just had a little bub, so she's not working obviously.
[40:26] Because the government's just brought out this new 5% guarantee.
[40:29] Yes, I heard that the other day.
[40:30] In the last day or so.
[40:32] Yeah.
[40:32] And it's like, and I'm telling everyone, beg, borrow, steal, mum, dad, help, whatever.
[40:37] Because to need 50 grand to buy a million dollar home in Sydney versus 200 grand, I don't know if it'll ever be seen again.
[40:45] Massive.
[40:45] With no mortgage insurance and no cap on incomes and this and that and property values.
[40:51] That's the biggest thing they've ever done.
[40:54] Yeah.
[40:55] So it's a big one.
[40:56] So it's good for them to at least know what's going on while it's around.
[40:59] It might last two months, six months, a year.
[41:01] Oh, okay.
[41:02] It's only a short-term thing possibly, is it?
[41:05] Yeah.
[41:05] The government's basically saying you don't have to pay mortgage insurance because you don't have a 20% deposit.
[41:10] So there's a list of pre-approved banks and the government will guarantee you.
[41:15] If you default.
[41:16] So you only need 5% deposit, any income, any property value anywhere in Australia right now on a list of specific banks and the government will guarantee the other 15%.
[41:27] Does it have to be your principal place of residence?
[41:29] They have to live in it.
[41:30] Yeah, it's for your home.
[41:30] Yeah, okay.
[41:31] And each state and territory is different.
[41:32] So like, you know, Victoria, you're meant to live in it for the whole first 12 months, no ifs or buts.
[41:38] Yeah.
[41:38] Whereas in Queensland, New South Wales, it's six months within the first 12 months and they change these laws.
[41:43] Yeah.
[41:43] Oh, is it?
[41:44] So for example, you can buy a property that might be tenanted and the lease has got three months left and you buy it as a home.
[41:50] The tenant lives there and at the end of their lease, you then move in three months later, but you stay there.
[41:55] So there's all sorts of little maneuvers.
[41:58] But yeah, it's an interesting opportunity even to pick themselves up a unit and move into it straight away.
[42:05] But they might move back home a year later.
[42:07] Yeah.
[42:08] But once you've got the loan, you've got the loan.
[42:10] Yeah.
[42:11] Well, James has just got into my industry now.
[42:14] He's done with being a chippy, so he's into cranes now.
[42:17] Yeah.
[42:18] And he's earning a lot better money.
[42:20] Okay.
[42:21] There you go.
[42:22] Might have to hit up the bank of mum and dad.
[42:25] Hey, do you hear that?
[42:27] James, James, do you hear that one, James?
[42:30] There are no bank anymore.
[42:32] And the reason I'm sharing this even for yourselves is there's also, I put it in our group the other day at school, the government's looking at passing some legislation around the build to rent and the super funds all coming in.
[42:44] Yes.
[42:44] And I'm really very, very concerned.
[42:47] They're going, oh, you know how we help the market?
[42:49] We get rid of negative gearing.
[42:51] We do this.
[42:51] We charge tax on empty bedrooms.
[42:54] Whilst they're making us look over here, they're fucking us from behind over here.
[42:59] No lube, no drink, no date, no fall.
[43:02] And they go, oh, we're going to pass the lead.
[43:04] We want to tax incentivize.
[43:07] Super funds, overseas pension funds, Australian.
[43:10] So we want you to buy and build entire buildings in volumetric title and all they'll ever be is rental properties.
[43:18] So whilst we're shit canning the mum and dad investor over here putting roofs over heads and having a relationship with tenants and that,
[43:26] Whilst we've got your focus here, we're pumping you over here.
[43:29] So what that means is the Black Rocks and the big JP Morgue and the super funds and international pension, they're going to come over here and get all these incentives to buy and build entire fucking buildings that will be nothing but rentals forever.
[43:44] Yeah.
[43:44] Now, when they go to sell, they will only sell to another pension fund or super fund or institution.
[43:51] Yeah, so no, yeah.
[43:52] Kids won't ever be able to buy.
[43:52] So your boys won't be going to auction or negotiating a home against another family's young fella.
[43:58] They're going to be getting outbid or getting outpriced by the big institutional corporates.
[44:05] So we've got to be very careful about what people see and don't see in the media right now because whilst we're looking over here and the focus and attention's there because we all hear about tax...
[44:14] They're absolutely undoing what they're saying.
[44:17] They're putting forward this bullshit that we're all worried about, whilst there's bigger bullshit over here.
[44:22] That's what we should be worried about.
[44:24] Oh, no, look over there.
[44:27] They do that a bit, don't they?
[44:29] It's bad, but that's something you can at least put on the boys' radar.
[44:32] Yeah, that's a good idea.
[44:33] Because for the government to guarantee it and say, and usually you go, oh, well, the government will guarantee it, but you can't spend more than $750.
[44:39] What are you going to get for $750 in Sydney?
[44:42] But this is no cap on the property value, no cap on the income they earn.
[44:48] Usually they only do it for low to middle income earners and cap the value of the house.
[44:52] This is just everyone.
[44:53] Oh, okay.
[44:54] If you're a first home buyer, haven't owned before, you just need 5% and you're in.
[45:00] that's unique.
[45:01] Yeah.
[45:02] Even if they buy and live in it for a year and then decide to come back home, they're in.
[45:07] Yeah.
[45:07] They've got a property.
[45:08] You're in the market.
[45:09] Yeah.
[45:10] Very unique.
[45:11] Yeah.
[45:12] But guess what it's going to do?
[45:14] It's going to lift values from the bottom to the middle.
[45:19] Because we've had rate decreases, people can borrow more.
[45:23] Now, everyone who's anyone that's got a good taxable income that mum and dad sell your fucking patrol or your land crews, anyone who's got a brain right now is going to buy a home because they only need 5%.
[45:36] And if they don't have it, a lot of people are going to get it, borrow it, whatever they need to do.
[45:40] So what that will do, it'll create competition.
[45:43] It's going to push the prices up.
[45:44] They don't need to go up anymore.
[45:46] That's what I'm saying.
[45:47] You've got to make sure the boys are aware and your younger generation because it's going to get to the big institutions taking ownership of all the assets and everyone renting and then the haves and the have-nots.
[46:00] And our wealth gap is just getting worse and worse and worse through property in Australia.
[46:05] People go, oh, well, there's got to be a crash.
[46:07] That ain't going to fix shit.
[46:09] Right?
[46:10] Even if there's a temporary crash, it'll then kick on and go again.
[46:14] Look at our first wages.
[46:16] What did you earn?
[46:16] Look at what you paid for a house if you were a fossil in 1920.
[46:19] You know, things get dearer.
[46:21] That's the way a global economy works.
[46:23] So it is getting harder and harder.
[46:26] So make sure the boys are aware as much as possible.
[46:30] Because it's very unique.
[46:31] When these things come in, they come in for a period of time and they go, oh, well,
[46:35] We had a big response, no, we're going to cut that.
[46:38] They do these little different things to win votes and help.
[46:41] I think that's us being aware of it so that we can potentially offer that to them.
[46:47] Guide them, help them, maybe can see.
[46:50] Yeah, even you guys to talk, hey, all right, are we prepared to help with X and Y for a little bit of time?
[46:55] I'm not selling my Audi.
[46:57] What was that?
[46:57] I said she could sell her Audi.
[46:59] I sold my Vespa.
[47:00] I had a Vinnie Vespa, Vinnie Barbarino, and I loved it.
[47:03] And I sold that when we started with you so we could put that money aside.
[47:07] I did.
[47:08] No, I'm keeping my Audi.
[47:10] It's only a little one.
[47:11] Fair call.
[47:11] It's only a little one.
[47:13] Well, you should be really bloody proud of yourselves.
[47:16] And it sounds like the boys are doing well and raising families and stuff.
[47:20] And looking after... Well, they should be bloody proud of yourself.
[47:22] Thanks, mate.
[47:23] It's been a good journey.
[47:23] You guys have been a real fun addition to the community.
[47:27] I love it.
[47:28] I really look forward to seeing you guys this year at the Chrissy Party as well.
[47:31] Yeah.
[47:32] We'll be there, Mike.
[47:33] Yeah.
[47:33] If it's better than last year.
[47:36] Last year was SeaWorld, as you know, SeaWorld private.
[47:39] Yeah.
[47:39] And it was about 1,500 people we paid for catered.
[47:42] I think 1,280, 1,380.
[47:44] I don't think quite 1,500 showed up for different reasons.
[47:47] This year, I think we're already up to three or three and a half thousand.
[47:51] Oh, you're joking.
[47:52] Yeah, I think the first two ticket drops were 2,800.
[47:54] Oh, wow.
[47:57] So I think it's going to be 4,000 or 5,000 people.
[47:59] Wow.
[48:00] Hopefully.
[48:01] Yeah, you've got that many clients.
[48:04] Yeah.
[48:04] Holy doodle.
[48:04] There's about 4,000, just under 4,000 active clients.
[48:08] And then you think of partners.
[48:09] Yeah, of course.
[48:10] Right.
[48:10] So it's a big business.
[48:12] It's massive.
[48:13] Well done.
[48:13] Remember last year we raised that $250,000 for the cat.
[48:17] So I said this year, $500,000.
[48:18] Got to be.
[48:19] By hell or high, fucking 500 grand.
[48:22] And you ain't getting in that Christmas party without fucking presents at the door.
[48:25] Yeah, yeah.
[48:26] We had presents.
[48:26] Don't get your 10 bucks or your 1,000 or your 100.
[48:29] So we're going to hit that infinity clock at 500 again.
[48:32] Yeah.
[48:33] 500 this year, not 250 because there's so many of us.
[48:36] And you want to get in that Christmas party?
[48:38] Yeah.
[48:38] Yeah.
[48:38] you've got to bring a present.
[48:39] Yep, yep.
[48:40] Easy.
[48:40] Little boy, little girl, single parent, whatever.
[48:43] That was awesome.
[48:44] Yeah.
[48:44] Because last year we had a couple of truckers.
[48:45] I said to Kmart this year, bring a fucking train.
[48:48] I said, I'm going to load this pucker up.
[48:50] You're going to be truck after truck after truck.
[48:53] But it'll be a cool experience.
[48:56] And yeah, we've got some, we've seen some of the acts maybe already on the MAM.
[49:00] It's going to be a few surprises in store.
[49:03] Unreal.
[49:03] Unreal, can't wait.
[49:04] I'm looking forward to the dress up.
[49:06] Yeah.
[49:06] Can't wait, who comes up with all this stuff?
[49:08] Imagination's unreal.
[49:09] Bec usually.
[49:10] Oh really?
[49:11] Bec and Alex and Taryn and Amanda and I usually have a little bit of input.
[49:16] I come up with something good.
[49:18] I did well.
[49:18] I got involved in getting a couple of the artists this year.
[49:22] Oh, all right.
[49:22] Which should have been impossible.
[49:24] So a couple of the artists.
[49:25] Well, I'm very intrigued.
[49:27] That was going to be a question.
[49:29] I thought...
[49:30] I thought...
[49:32] what's a question we can ask you?
[49:34] I hope I'm not jumping in too early.
[49:35] No, go, let's go.
[49:36] Is when I thought, if you were to be a boxer, right, or an MMA or something, if you were to walk out like, like the big man there.
[49:46] There's Volkanovski there, yeah.
[49:48] Oh.
[49:48] What would your, what would your entrance music be?
[49:51] And I don't want you to say the... My G. My G. Do you have one?
[49:56] No, you can't say that, because that would be perfect.
[49:58] That is a Kraken song.
[49:59] Yes.
[49:59] But like, do you have like a...
[50:02] What would your...
[50:04] I actually don't... Look, growing up, how I grew up with all of my mates and younger in the gong and housing commission kids and playing soccer and stuff, I'm into a lot of hip-hoppy, rappy sort of...
[50:16] But if it's too fast to know the words...
[50:19] for anyone of any age, I'm not into it.
[50:22] So if I can't sing along to it and know the words, I'm not into it.
[50:27] But then I still like a bit of dancey, like what, I can't dance for shit.
[50:30] I'm kind of, I don't have too many boats.
[50:32] Hand ears and ashtray on a motorbike and two left feet.
[50:36] But yeah, I'm sort of a bit of a bit, like I don't have any particular thing that I just,
[50:40] absolutely love but but i do like that scribe savvy you know that sort of like if i can understand it and sing along to it i quite like it yeah yeah but no particular anything that's about a struggle because i fucking i've always struggled i've always been the underdog and even now to be as wildly successful as we are i'm attacked every day
[51:05] Like, you should see the amount of broken men.
[51:07] I've talked to the team about this.
[51:09] The amount of dick pics I get every day from guys on social media.
[51:12] And I think...
[51:13] What?
[51:14] Married men, guys.
[51:16] Yeah, people saying, oh, go kill yourself, you fat baby.
[51:20] You would not.
[51:20] But the team will tell you, like, I'm talking thousands a week because we're such a big company.
[51:24] And I think, what compels some fucking moron in their parents' basement to send a dick pic or to tell someone to go neck themselves or to, like, you know, scroll on.
[51:35] Who does that?
[51:36] Right?
[51:36] So we just block them and report their account.
[51:38] They wonder why they get banned from social media or whatever.
[51:40] But...
[51:42] People are pretty fucked.
[51:43] There's a lot of beautiful people in society.
[51:45] You'd be surprised how many people are severely fucking messed up in society at the moment.
[51:51] What did Mike Tyson say?
[51:52] That the worst thing about social media is that it's given people the ability to not get punched in the face by saying something stupid.
[52:00] Yeah.
[52:01] Because that used to make it.
[52:02] Until they finalise, and they're now doing it.
[52:05] So if I showed you the drawer full of signed apology letters I've got there that are not confidential, I could put on camera right now from people in the industry.
[52:13] Because my go-to thing would be, cool, oh, you said that, did you?
[52:16] A million bucks in the lawyer's trust account?
[52:18] You put a million bucks in your lawyer's, let's go, you've done something wrong, right?
[52:22] People freak they don't have a million bucks to fight.
[52:24] Right.
[52:25] But like the amount of people that have got an opinion, and I say, my opinions are like backsides.
[52:30] Sit from them, shit from them.
[52:32] But keep them to yourself.
[52:33] Yeah.
[52:33] Unless you can validate them.
[52:34] Yeah.
[52:35] There's some amazing people in my industry.
[52:37] There's some fucking idiots.
[52:38] But society as a whole, really more so post-COVID, there are a lot of people struggling.
[52:44] A lot of people need help.
[52:46] Yeah.
[52:47] But they're all very vocal about life.
[52:50] Yeah.
[52:50] Yeah.
[52:50] So you've just got to look after your friends and family and check in on your work, all that sort of stuff.
[52:56] But back to the question, my ADHD kicking in, no particular song, would it probably be something about, I don't know, something to do with Stroll Find?
[53:04] I think it would.
[53:06] Because at the moment it would be my G. Yeah, of course it would be.
[53:08] Because it's so me, you know what I mean?
[53:11] Like the amount of me, like every lyric is me.
[53:14] When Sav wrote it, he goes, bro, you've got bars.
[53:17] I'm like, what's a bar?
[53:18] I didn't know that it's like a rhyme or, you know.
[53:21] Because all of the words are the things I say.
[53:23] How he turned that lyrically into a song, which I'll fuck if I know.
[53:27] That's a talent, isn't it?
[53:28] Yeah.
[53:29] That is amazing.
[53:29] And then he's got Beck in there and he's got all the little one-liners.
[53:33] He turned a series of one-liners and things I really believe, he turned it into a fucking track and I'm like, wow.
[53:39] Yeah.
[53:40] It's very me.
[53:40] So I'd have to say that.
[53:41] Well, that's the song.
[53:42] Well, you have to say that.
[53:44] I'd have to say that.
[53:45] It's just too me.
[53:48] Before we wrap up, what other questions have you got for me?
[53:51] I was thinking before actually about when...
[53:54] I can't remember what we were talking about.
[53:56] But I wondered, are there lots of copycat type companies coming up with similar strategies now?
[54:01] Yeah, there's so many.
[54:02] And I just say to anyone watching this, I mean, we've been around since 2012 for this particular business.
[54:08] We've got over 4,000 ongoing subscribers.
[54:11] Not we transacted current subscribing, paying an annual fee.
[54:16] We interact with our clients and provide a service.
[54:18] Not here's your loan, see you later.
[54:21] There's nobody as big as us in Australia.
[54:24] That didn't happen overnight.
[54:25] No, of course not.
[54:26] It took a long time.
[54:27] Plus they're partners.
[54:30] And there's a lot of people out there.
[54:32] I've got ex-staff that come and go.
[54:35] We do have our own products.
[54:36] Our own product, we've just rehashed the whole thing now to relaunch.
[54:40] It is cheaper than any bank or institution in Australia.
[54:43] Branded as us from an institution.
[54:47] So nobody has some of the things we have right now.
[54:51] I can validate that right now.
[54:52] Today we just did it in the last few weeks to outprice the entire market.
[54:56] Branded as us.
[54:58] So we've worked really hard, long and hard, to look like an overnight success.
[55:03] Just upset a lot of people.
[55:05] And everyone has their opinion.
[55:07] But I can go get thousands and thousands of people.
[55:10] to come on here and share their story, to take pictures in front of their house that they paid off to zero.
[55:16] You see all these copycats.
[55:17] I go do a search, the ABN was registered two years ago.
[55:21] Don't talk about someone paying their house off in five years when your business hasn't existed for five years.
[55:26] Oh, okay.
[55:26] There's prac and there's theory.
[55:29] Yeah.
[55:29] Yeah.
[55:29] And then there's the social proof.
[55:32] So I'm not saying it's not possible, but what I'm saying is I wouldn't be dealing with someone who doesn't have a custom that's paid a loan off to coach me on how to pay a loan off.
[55:40] Yeah.
[55:41] And if they did it in their old job or company, you need that proof of that customer.
[55:44] Yeah.
[55:45] So I think today we've all got good bullshit detectors.
[55:48] Yeah.
[55:48] And I think it's important, as you see, most people, for me, I'm more inclined to refund you and tell you to fuck off than I am to actually take your money and work with you.
[55:56] Because I don't need the headaches.
[55:58] I'm doing all right.
[55:59] And that that people experience at the biggie, this guy doesn't give a fuck.
[56:03] Yeah.
[56:03] Whereas the salesperson...
[56:05] oh, it's okay, fucking Stephanie or Karen or what.
[56:08] And they're going to try to do anything to get that money.
[56:11] But that'll, like your approach, you being you, will attract the right people.
[56:17] My vibe, my tribe.
[56:18] And piss everyone out.
[56:19] So I'm like, oh, the language.
[56:21] I can see it.
[56:23] And that's something I wanted to ask you as well.
[56:25] We came up here the other week when you and Bec were crook.
[56:29] Yeah.
[56:30] We were coming anyway.
[56:31] And we bumped into a couple who we'd never met before, but they were here with the same thing.
[56:37] And Jasmine, she said, I want to ask G...
[56:42] Sorry, Jazz, if I'm pinching your question.
[56:46] How do you... How is everyone we've met a good people, right?
[56:50] A fair-income people.
[56:51] Yeah.
[56:52] We're on the same journey, but there's no arseholes.
[56:56] Maybe there is one or two.
[56:57] Very few, and if they slip through, I fuck them off pretty quickly.
[57:01] And she said, the only information we give you initially is our financial information.
[57:09] How do you sift through the bullshit to get all these good people?
[57:13] Really good question.
[57:15] So we download the chat bar from the webinars and the masterclass.
[57:18] So we can see you use a login when you register, when you pay.
[57:22] So I can use AI to go through and look at every question, every comment, everything you ever fucking typed.
[57:26] Oh my gosh, really?
[57:27] That tells me everything I need to know about you, if you typed anything at all.
[57:31] Our best clients, type nothing, say nothing, do the free webinar, pay for the masterclass with the money back guarantee, go through the process, ask nothing, sign up.
[57:41] Yeah.
[57:41] The ones that ask 65 fucking questions are typically a pain in the ass and we don't work with them.
[57:46] I can't type that quick.
[57:46] By the time you go, fuck it.
[57:48] It's like, oh, he's talking about something else now.
[57:51] Yeah, I've moved on.
[57:51] I answered the wrong question.
[57:53] Love heart.
[57:54] Two, a lot of people share everything about themselves on socials.
[57:58] So you can go to their Facebooks, Instagrams, LinkedIn, all that sort of shit and get a really quick lay of the land.
[58:04] But my team are so meticulously trained that, and you'd say I do it as a skill set for my childhood and upbringing.
[58:13] I know when I talk to someone for five minutes from what you do say, but more so what you don't say and your body language, I'll pick you pretty quickly.
[58:20] Right.
[58:21] And our team will as well.
[58:22] So in those, they'll know if you're too nervous or you're asking the wrong questions because you're just, hey, look, Simone, you're really scared.
[58:30] I get it.
[58:31] Come back to us after you do A, B.
[58:33] So it's a genuine thing.
[58:35] Because with someone that's scared, it's not my job to convince them to not be scared.
[58:39] It's my job to educate them until the fear subsides.
[58:44] So what we'll do is give the money back, tell you what you need to do to hopefully get that fear to subside and then come back.
[58:52] And we win so many people over that come back because we'll say, hey, not no, but not right now because.
[58:59] Do A, B and C, reapply.
[59:01] And that's what people want.
[59:03] Okay, if you don't want me today or you don't want to help, what do I need to do?
[59:07] They're very meticulously trained.
[59:09] The interactions on events tells me fucking heaps.
[59:12] Like, people don't realise I'll be writing down on my notebook there while I'm running a masterclass going, fucking Bob down.
[59:19] Fuck no.
[59:21] And they'll get a list or I'll be texting going, this motherfucker that just asked this question, if they sign up, instant refund.
[59:28] Oh, wow.
[59:29] Like, I'm fucking...
[59:31] I used to say I've got a decent set of balls on me.
[59:33] They've been kicked to death.
[59:34] I've got pancakes.
[59:35] I've got fucking tiny little steel ball bearing.
[59:38] I don't have time for anyone to kick me in the dick.
[59:42] And so it's getting that we have, and it's a good question, I think we've actually got it down to almost a science or an art.
[59:49] How people talk to us, interact with us, give us documents, email, how they treat our team tells us fucking heaps.
[59:58] I say the trolley test, right?
[1:00:00] Yeah, yeah.
[1:00:01] So if you don't put your trolley back in a car park, and they know that.
[1:00:04] I'll watch their faces.
[1:00:05] You don't put your trolley back at a shopping centre, and then my grandma couldn't park her car, you're a fucking shit bloke.
[1:00:11] I'm a busy person.
[1:00:12] I put my fucking... And I put other trolleys back.
[1:00:15] And then Beck will fucking spray my hands with sanitiser.
[1:00:18] I don't know.
[1:00:19] I don't know.
[1:00:19] I don't know.
[1:00:21] It tells you a lot about people.
[1:00:22] Like, I'm a weird fuck.
[1:00:24] If I have to go to the bathroom in a public, like a shopping center or something, a public bathroom, I'll clean up because I don't want someone to think that I went in there and made a mess.
[1:00:33] That's weird, right?
[1:00:34] Yeah, like I'm fucked up.
[1:00:36] Like I can't, what you walk past and accept
[1:00:42] is that whole standard of your life, right?
[1:00:44] Yeah, right.
[1:00:45] So I think we've got it down to an art of how you interact, how you treat my team, how people, how we watch them interact with their partners.
[1:00:52] Like, you guys are so beautiful.
[1:00:54] We watch all that.
[1:00:56] And if we can sniff any inkling that there's going to be a problem, we just won't engage.
[1:01:01] We just give them the money back.
[1:01:02] yeah it's not worth it and they always come back they get upset i get abusive messages you didn't accept me i said exhibit and they go why not and i wrote back exhibit a good luck yeah i'm not going to get in like if you're going to abuse me for not taking your money to work with you and help you that's why i didn't take your money to fucking work with you yeah because you're not helpable yeah so yeah i think it's a good question you'll find and i say this all the time you see me ma'am ma'am and i'm like if you meet a dickhead let me know if they've slipped through the crap people
[1:01:32] I'm sorry.
[1:01:35] Be careful this weekend though.
[1:01:37] Yeah, be careful.
[1:01:39] But I think we've done a really good, you'll see it again this weekend, right, with five, six hundred people.
[1:01:44] I think we've done really well at just asking the right questions and our team really give a shit.
[1:01:50] Yeah, they do.
[1:01:51] Like our team, the hours they work, the effort they go in.
[1:01:54] They blow me away.
[1:01:55] From reception to transportation to like fucking to socials, everyone gives a shit.
[1:02:01] Yeah.
[1:02:02] Right, they love it but they're all well looked after, they have fun.
[1:02:05] We have a fuckload of fun with what we do and the results are there.
[1:02:09] So when you work here and you realize what you're doing for changing lives financially, you can't not have fun.
[1:02:14] But as soon as we get a sniff, one of you are not in the process or there's a problem and well, money mentor, not marriage mentor.
[1:02:22] So it's like we just, we want to do what we do really well and we don't have time outside of that.
[1:02:28] Yeah, of course.
[1:02:29] Because the time we spend on that one couple is,
[1:02:32] that are a fucking ball ache or one of them, I could have helped six other families.
[1:02:37] And that's not fair on the six families I said no to.
[1:02:40] And it's that 80-20 rule.
[1:02:42] So 20% of ball aches consume 80% of your time.
[1:02:46] Yeah.
[1:02:47] So we just don't do the ball ache.
[1:02:49] Nothing to kick, sorry guys.
[1:02:51] Yeah.
[1:02:51] Well, it's a testament to you, obviously, because everybody that we've had.
[1:02:55] It's a good quid.
[1:02:56] Everyone's just so nice.
[1:02:57] But again, when you're on a session,
[1:02:59] And I'm fucking absolutely abusing somebody and telling them to fuck off because they were disrespectful to somebody else.
[1:03:05] I don't do it for the fun of it.
[1:03:07] The other week I gave everyone heaps of prizes because I didn't have to boot anyone.
[1:03:11] I said, fuck, I've not booted.
[1:03:12] This is a bit boring.
[1:03:13] I feel like it's going on.
[1:03:15] Do you know what I mean?
[1:03:16] But having sessions, that's great.
[1:03:18] It means that we're marketing well.
[1:03:21] The stories we're sharing are right.
[1:03:23] They're hitting right.
[1:03:24] People relate to that.
[1:03:25] They're in those positions.
[1:03:27] They're similar people.
[1:03:28] Someone listening to this will feel they relate to you.
[1:03:32] That has helped them reach out, watch the free shit, go through the process.
[1:03:37] Anyone who's worried about language or gets offended easily, you're never going to meet someone like that at one of my events, not as an ongoing client.
[1:03:47] Because they'll never go through the process.
[1:03:48] They won't sort of, I guess, fit in a little bit.
[1:03:51] I mean, everyone's on a different journey from a different demographic with different, just everything's different, but we're all sort of aiming for the same thing.
[1:04:05] And yeah, we met a couple this morning.
[1:04:08] Jeremy's cousin.
[1:04:09] Jeremy's cousin.
[1:04:10] Megan?
[1:04:11] Meg?
[1:04:12] and her partner, Sarah.
[1:04:14] Oh, Megan.
[1:04:15] Yeah, yeah, yeah.
[1:04:16] His cousin, yeah.
[1:04:18] Unreal.
[1:04:18] Just cool people.
[1:04:19] Yeah.
[1:04:20] Sitting outside the ladies' toilets having a conversation.
[1:04:23] I'm usually there anyway.
[1:04:24] I was going to say, fuck it.
[1:04:27] But no, you're right.
[1:04:28] I mean, I and the team attract a certain type of person.
[1:04:33] And that's okay.
[1:04:34] And we're not interested in the people that don't.
[1:04:36] People are, oh, this and that.
[1:04:37] And I'm not here for you.
[1:04:39] I'm here for everyday people that want to cut through the shit.
[1:04:43] I don't even like giving a sales pitch when I've got to sell you something.
[1:04:46] Here's what I can fucking do.
[1:04:48] Check that the numbers add up.
[1:04:49] And if they do, do it.
[1:04:50] And if they don't, I don't give a fuck.
[1:04:52] But there's a key difference.
[1:04:54] Over the last few years, Beck and I and a lot of our team have got to such a strong financial position, we don't need anyone's money.
[1:05:02] Now, there is so much power and it is so unique in financial services that the advisor doesn't need the money.
[1:05:09] They've already made their money.
[1:05:11] Because anyone who needs the money has commission breath and they're desperate to transact with you.
[1:05:15] Yeah.
[1:05:16] We're not.
[1:05:16] We can, I can shut down the shop, I can not market, I can do nothing for four or five years.
[1:05:21] This business will just continue to grow at the rate it's growing, right?
[1:05:24] So I appreciate from yourself and from Jasmine, was it?
[1:05:28] Yeah.
[1:05:29] That acknowledgement, because we work really, really hard at that.
[1:05:33] Christmas party's unique.
[1:05:34] There's always a few people get a bit excited and there's a few, ah,
[1:05:38] this person.
[1:05:38] But I mean, that's like any Christmas party at the end of the year.
[1:05:41] There's always a couple take it too far.
[1:05:44] And what, sorry, what do you do to bloody relax, mate?
[1:05:48] Like, because ADHD, off your head, going home, doing this, doing that.
[1:05:53] You've got the missus at home or whatever.
[1:05:54] I don't sleep a lot.
[1:05:56] I've just started training twice a day.
[1:05:57] To wind down?
[1:05:59] Cars.
[1:06:00] Yeah.
[1:06:01] That's your thing?
[1:06:01] Cars, car collection.
[1:06:03] If I get...
[1:06:06] one day, half a day, a month, where I get to get in and out of three or four cars that I collect, I'm fucking happy as a piggy mark.
[1:06:13] Do you like to do them up?
[1:06:14] Restore?
[1:06:15] No, fuck no.
[1:06:16] No, no, too much hard work.
[1:06:17] No, I just try them.
[1:06:19] Fuck no.
[1:06:20] Yeah.
[1:06:21] No, I love, I used to love buying like VL Turbo Calais and VK Brocks and Gemini's with, you know, FJ20 turbos in them.
[1:06:30] I'll show you some stuff in my phone.
[1:06:31] Yeah.
[1:06:32] Like the old school.
[1:06:33] And I've just sort of gone past it now.
[1:06:35] I like a brand, you know, near new brand new supercar or collector supercar.
[1:06:39] Oh, nice.
[1:06:39] So why?
[1:06:40] So I've played with all of the commos and the jammies and the road and all that sort of stuff.
[1:06:44] And it's just a constant drama as opposed to now just going, all right, I'll go get a fucking Ferrari, Olympic, whatever it is.
[1:06:51] It's in Warranty, get service, whatever.
[1:06:53] Yeah, nice.
[1:06:53] But yeah, I've got, we see on my socials with the gym we've got at home there with the lights and all.
[1:06:58] That's the home gym we've invested in.
[1:07:00] And likewise, I've got the basement with the cars.
[1:07:03] Oh, wow.
[1:07:04] Meticulously detailed and fucking, yeah.
[1:07:07] That's the, I mean, the reason, one of the reasons I asked that is because...
[1:07:11] getting time off work and getting a day for myself.
[1:07:14] Yeah.
[1:07:15] Jump on one of my bikes and go for a ride.
[1:07:18] Same.
[1:07:18] That's it.
[1:07:18] For me, it's that in the car.
[1:07:20] Yeah, yeah.
[1:07:20] And Bec's the same, loves the cars.
[1:07:22] Yeah, nice.
[1:07:23] So she'll get in a car and off we go and we love it.
[1:07:27] And that's our thing.
[1:07:28] That's awesome.
[1:07:29] We absolutely love that.
[1:07:31] Nice.
[1:07:31] And we've got a family down in Port Macquarie, so we duck up and down there.
[1:07:35] And I love that.
[1:07:36] She's like, we'll fly them and I'll get in the car for five and a half hours and off I go.
[1:07:40] Race mode, you know.
[1:07:41] So for me, it's cars.
[1:07:44] Whether it's to look at them, whether it's to research them.
[1:07:47] But again, I've got to a position now where I can flip and buy and sell and hold them whatever I want.
[1:07:52] But there's a really important thing.
[1:07:55] You'll never, ever, ever, ever have you seen me posting a picture in front of a basement full of cars or all supercars.
[1:08:02] No.
[1:08:02] Would never have known.
[1:08:03] Interesting, right?
[1:08:03] Would never have known you had to ask me.
[1:08:06] How many fucking flops out there are you?
[1:08:08] Do you see in my industry sitting on the front of their Lamborghini, Maserati, Ferrari, hey, I'm rich as fuck?
[1:08:14] You see it a bit, don't you?
[1:08:15] in the suit yeah bit of a wink make sure you resent them a little bit well no what are you doing with my money if you can afford that they're attracting they're attracting to get rich quick or hey you can aspire to be like me what I do that they get the shits with is show you 150 million dollars of real estate I've acquired in the last five years and they can't compete with that right and that's what pisses them off mm-hmm
[1:08:36] But in the same token, hey, why don't you share your portfolio instead of sharing your fucking car or your house?
[1:08:43] But you'll notice on my socials, I don't post that shit empty.
[1:08:46] I used to be an absolute fuckwit.
[1:08:48] And I talk about it openly.
[1:08:50] I used to post the pictures of all the cars and the house and all of that.
[1:08:55] You'd be lucky every now and then to get me to get a sunset or sunrise picture from a property or something.
[1:08:59] It's a beautiful day.
[1:09:01] You see me...
[1:09:02] Warts and all, sharing my fat ass in the gym, kickboxing and getting flogged.
[1:09:07] Bexty going to thumb up the ass in the gym if I'm not lifting heavy enough.
[1:09:10] You'll see some funny shit there where we'll share some life stuff to be real, keep it real.
[1:09:15] But the rest of it's our community.
[1:09:18] It's all what we live and breathe.
[1:09:19] But when you talk about that besides the car, it's this.
[1:09:23] I get my kick out of this weekend and this stuff.
[1:09:26] I fucking love it.
[1:09:28] Absolutely love it.
[1:09:30] Sometimes I've had enough.
[1:09:31] But I love it.
[1:09:32] Yeah.
[1:09:32] We'll get to that point, mate.
[1:09:33] That's lucky.
[1:09:34] So you see me sometimes at 11 o'clock at night at the photo wall, and I'm like, fucking out, gone.
[1:09:39] So I'm not doing after party, because sometimes it's a bit, you know.
[1:09:42] Yeah, full on.
[1:09:43] The 30th person who's fucking maggot comes up.
[1:09:46] I'm like, I'm going home.
[1:09:48] See you on Friday night.
[1:09:49] Typically the car.
[1:09:50] Get like you're on the bike, get in the car, just listen to it, drive it.
[1:09:54] Just looking at them sometimes, going into the garage.
[1:09:57] It's my gym.
[1:09:58] My basement is my home gym and my cars.
[1:10:01] So every morning I go down training and look at the cars.
[1:10:04] It's beautiful.
[1:10:04] It's amazing.
[1:10:06] but no one knows nice i mean they hear it but i'm not going to be posting about it no wank there you know what i mean but all of that comes back to what people got to be careful of sure you got to make sure that people talk the talk walk the and shit goes wrong but if it goes wrong are we here to hold your hand
[1:10:22] yeah because shit goes wrong in life yeah that's how you react to it and that's why we don't have time for the drama so we're really good at going if shit goes wrong you're in me fuck hey lou fuck it okay yeah no worry hey gee yep done tell yeah tell tony it's sorted done
[1:10:37] That's all I wanted.
[1:10:38] Sweet.
[1:10:39] I go to bed tonight, right?
[1:10:40] That's what you just need to know that someone's in your corner.
[1:10:43] Yeah.
[1:10:43] Shit goes wrong and it can.
[1:10:45] They're in your corner.
[1:10:46] Happy days.
[1:10:46] Or have that impression anyway.
[1:10:48] Because nothing's perfect.
[1:10:50] Nothing's perfect.
[1:10:51] Yeah.
[1:10:52] Yep.
[1:10:52] This was fun, guys.
[1:10:53] This was fun.
[1:10:54] We're going to have to do it again.
[1:10:55] Yeah.
[1:10:55] You're going to have to do it again.
[1:10:57] Yes.
[1:10:57] Yeah, that'd be, yeah.
[1:10:58] Yeah.
[1:10:59] Yeah, definitely.
[1:11:00] Love to.
[1:11:00] We'll do a six month or a 12 month review maybe.
[1:11:03] Okay.
[1:11:04] Cool.
[1:11:04] Very much.
[1:11:05] Looking forward to seeing you.
[1:11:05] Pleasure.
[1:11:06] What an honour.
[1:11:07] Appreciate you sharing guys.
[1:11:08] Cheers.
[1:11:08] Thank you.
[1:11:09] Thanks guys.
[1:11:10] You're fucking gone.
[1:11:11] See ya.
