[0:00] The home loan, when I started it was $629.
[0:04] Today we're at $524.
[0:06] Just over $100,000 in just over two years.
[0:09] All on your own.
[0:10] You've also got to look after the three kids on your own too.
[0:13] My family would say to me, Terry, you're going to kill yourself.
[0:18] You're working, you're not getting in front, sell the house, relieve yourself of all the pain and go and rent.
[0:25] And I thought, I've worked too hard in my life to go backwards.
[0:28] And do you remember how quickly you could pay your home loan off in?
[0:35] Welcome back to the Money Mentor Podcast.
[0:37] I'm your host, Rachel Howlett.
[0:39] We have another episode of Changing Lives Financially.
[0:42] And today we have the incredible Terry.
[0:44] How are you going, Terry?
[0:46] Yeah, good, Rachel.
[0:47] How are you feeling?
[0:48] Very nervous, but I'm good.
[0:50] And we will talk a lot about your infinity journey, of course.
[0:52] That's what you're here for.
[0:53] But we want to know about life before infinity.
[0:56] Yeah.
[0:56] I know you've had quite a hard slog in your life.
[0:59] And we're going to get quite candid about that, if you don't mind.
[1:02] But talk to me about that.
[1:03] Take us back pre-infinity and share your story.
[1:06] Okay, pre-infinity.
[1:08] I purchased a house when I was very young.
[1:10] So you got on your home buying journey really early.
[1:12] Yeah.
[1:13] During school, I had three jobs.
[1:15] I used to work in a seafood shop before school, get up early, set the shop up, have a shower, go to school.
[1:22] And then after school, come back to the same shop, tidy up the shop, pack away.
[1:28] And then I would walk, say, eight kilometres to Red Rooster, work there to midnight.
[1:34] And then I would walk about 15 k's home.
[1:37] Why did you have such a good work ethic like that at such a long age?
[1:40] I had no sort of financial war struggling, single mum, five kids, you know, and, yeah, just wanted to get out of it.
[1:52] Yeah.
[1:53] So, sorry.
[1:56] No, you're fine.
[1:56] Take your time.
[1:57] So I got, you know, I'm motivated and I suppose once you get motivated and you're focused.
[2:05] You just, nothing else matters, you know.
[2:08] On Sundays, I would push the lawnmower around the street, knocking on doors, extra money.
[2:13] Wow.
[2:15] Yeah, so finally, finally, age of 17, saved it all up.
[2:23] And I met a girl, you know, and I told her, this is what we need to do and this is, you know, how, you know, are you on board?
[2:31] She was happily on board.
[2:32] And this was purchasing a home?
[2:34] Yeah, and then as we sort of, because we were together since 15, so I've always worked really hard.
[2:45] And then, you know, she moved in with me and her parents were completely against her, you're going to get pregnant, this and that, and that, and that.
[2:53] And I said, listen, we'll show your parents, you know, and then at the age of 17, we bought a house.
[3:00] Yeah, yeah.
[3:01] 17 years of age.
[3:02] That's crazy.
[3:03] Yeah, 177,000.
[3:03] Wow.
[3:04] Mind-blowing, isn't it?
[3:05] Yeah.
[3:07] And yeah, so bought the house and yeah, and then we got engaged and then we started the family.
[3:16] Yeah, and then got married.
[3:17] Yeah.
[3:18] So we sort of did everything in reverse.
[3:20] You did it in a right way sort of, you know, but you bought a house and you had kids and got married.
[3:26] Yeah, but the thing was that I didn't know about money.
[3:30] Yeah.
[3:31] I knew how to work.
[3:32] I knew how to be a workhorse.
[3:33] You knew how to earn it.
[3:34] Yeah.
[3:34] Yeah.
[3:34] Yeah.
[3:35] And, but I didn't know where to put it.
[3:37] Yeah.
[3:38] Okay.
[3:38] Put it on the home loan, put it on the home loan.
[3:41] But then you get bad advice.
[3:43] Um, a broker bring me up and say, I've got a perfect mortgage, um, percentage rate for you, giving cash back.
[3:53] Awesome.
[3:53] We'll borrow more on top of that and we'll go back to 30 years.
[3:58] Yeah.
[4:00] And I did that.
[4:01] Let's reduce your repayment.
[4:03] Yeah.
[4:04] And I was like, this guy's a genius.
[4:07] So, yeah, and then I met Infinity.
[4:12] Well, take me back before all of that with your relationship with your partner because unfortunately that didn't end well.
[4:18] Yeah, yep.
[4:19] So I'm married for 17, 18 years.
[4:24] I was always working and I said to her, you know, you don't have to work.
[4:30] You just look after the kids because that's my focus.
[4:34] Cause how many kids did you have?
[4:35] Three kids.
[4:36] And, um, I was just, yeah, working, you know, and I was always a hands on dad when I was home, absolutely loved.
[4:47] Yeah.
[4:48] You're taking time.
[4:50] Yes.
[4:50] There's tissue and water there for you.
[4:52] So anyway, yeah, her friend called me and said, you know, come to my house.
[4:59] I need to tell you something.
[5:00] I was like, yeah, I'm working too hard.
[5:02] I'm too tired.
[5:02] I want to go home and sleep.
[5:04] Da, da, da.
[5:05] She goes, Terry, you need to come over.
[5:07] So I went over and she told me, you know, this is what happened.
[5:10] Yeah.
[5:11] But, you know, I was fine with it because something happened earlier in our marriage, so I knew eventually something was going to happen, but I was hung around for the kids and that was my focus.
[5:22] You were trying to push through the relationship for that.
[5:24] Yeah.
[5:25] Yeah.
[5:25] She goes her way, I'll go my way, I'll take the kids and, you know, her motivation was to get paid out and leave the family.
[5:36] Yeah.
[5:37] And I was so happy with that.
[5:38] But you took money out from the mortgage or you took it in equity loan?
[5:42] Yeah.
[5:42] All the four banks wouldn't lend me any money.
[5:45] Yeah.
[5:45] No money at all.
[5:47] So when you were at the point of needing to pay her out and use the equity loan to do that, it was very hard.
[5:52] No one would give you the money.
[5:53] No one would give me the money.
[5:55] So it was like a year and a half before I actually paid her out.
[5:59] So Pepper Money came to the party and they lent me.
[6:05] And the massive rate.
[6:06] Yeah.
[6:07] Extreme.
[6:08] Like it was more than double.
[6:09] I think you're at like 9%.
[6:11] Correct.
[6:11] Yeah.
[6:13] And, and during that, during that time, um, I, I changed jobs as well.
[6:20] So I was moving into the railway industry from, from what I was doing and the work was very dry.
[6:28] I had to get qualifications to get more work.
[6:32] So I was striving towards that and the pay was very low.
[6:37] So what, what my expenses was to what I was, it was like, the expenses was five times of what I was earning.
[6:45] It was just ridiculous.
[6:47] Um, so I ended up renting the house I was in the household built to a small house.
[6:56] Because you felt like you couldn't stay on top of the mortgage repayments at this point, so you decided to rent it out.
[7:01] I was falling so far behind.
[7:03] Yeah.
[7:03] I would take a step forward and it would be like 30 steps back.
[7:06] Yeah.
[7:07] So the only way to do it is rent the property out, get maximum rent on there.
[7:13] And you rent something at a smaller amount.
[7:15] And rent something really small.
[7:18] So the real estate I went to, he just wanted to get someone in there and he said, Terry, we tried to rent for $800.
[7:27] You tried, I tried to rent for $800.
[7:29] He said, we got $850.
[7:31] Awesome.
[7:32] Yeah, sounds great.
[7:33] I trust that you screened them, whatever, put them in there.
[7:37] the person he put in there was a single mum and I'm more help, you know, I want to help as well.
[7:43] So I said, okay, you know, single mum, but she just went through a divorce.
[7:47] This is what he told me.
[7:48] She went through a divorce.
[7:49] She's getting her payout from her property shortly.
[7:54] And, you know, at the moment the government is going to put six weeks on there.
[7:59] So, yeah, I was happy with that.
[8:02] Um, then first time of payments after the four, three weeks, because four weeks were bond and the other two were rent.
[8:10] No payment coming through, no payment, no payment.
[8:13] A couple of months later.
[8:14] Very early.
[8:14] She didn't pay a cent after the six weeks.
[8:17] Wow.
[8:18] 18 months later, she's still in my property, not paying rent.
[8:22] What did you have to go through during that?
[8:24] You've had to take her to court.
[8:26] It was, it was very hard because...
[8:30] As parents, we want our kids to not go through what we went through.
[8:34] Yeah.
[8:34] And this was happening at a rapid rate.
[8:37] Like it was happening and I couldn't get my kids what I wanted.
[8:41] So, okay, that's out of the question.
[8:43] Because you're paying rent.
[8:44] You're paying a mortgage at 9%.
[8:45] Yeah.
[8:46] And you're not getting rent coming in.
[8:48] And the wages were low.
[8:49] Yeah.
[8:50] So, and then you get all the utility bills coming through to get.
[8:55] Yeah.
[8:58] The council rates and that's one thing you don't want to fold on council rates because it hits your credit score.
[9:04] Yep.
[9:05] So it was just a spiral, spiral.
[9:07] But I always throughout the whole, and this lasted for three years, I never was stressed.
[9:14] Yeah.
[9:15] Like the stress because I don't stress.
[9:19] I don't really stress.
[9:19] Yeah.
[9:21] So when there's pressure upon me, I just sort of take it as I need to and I don't think about yet tomorrow.
[9:30] Yeah.
[9:30] Still a lot floating in your mind though when you've also got to look after the three kids on your own too.
[9:35] Yeah.
[9:36] And I didn't want to apply that pressure onto the kids.
[9:38] That's why I never shown it.
[9:41] I never showed it.
[9:41] Yeah.
[9:43] You know, the kids, yeah, we did, it was hard, like, having a meal on the table every day and going through all that, but, you know, we did it.
[9:57] We did it.
[10:00] And although I didn't want the kids to, their childhood to be affected because then that takes them into their adulthood, you know, and I didn't want that.
[10:11] So I sort of kept them in the dark in terms of, you know, trying to keep them in the dark.
[10:19] But my kids grew up and they grew up and I taught them a lot of, you know, responsibility where I had to work, you have to go to school, you know,
[10:28] So I'm going to prepare everything prior.
[10:30] I'll do the washing, do the ironing, pack your lunch.
[10:33] You get up in the morning, you have your shower, make your bed, clean your room.
[10:39] put your uniform on and then you make your way to school.
[10:42] Yeah.
[10:42] You know?
[10:43] You wanted to make it easy for them.
[10:45] And.
[10:46] While you're struggling.
[10:47] Yeah.
[10:47] In the background.
[10:48] Yeah.
[10:48] Because even with your home loan, I know that when you default on that home loan, which you were because you weren't getting rent.
[10:54] Yeah.
[10:54] You go to the default interest rate.
[10:56] So you're already at a 9%.
[10:57] That's right.
[10:58] And then they've moved you to 12%.
[11:00] Yes.
[11:00] Yes.
[11:01] So it's getting harder and harder.
[11:02] I couldn't, yeah.
[11:04] It was just, okay, nothing's going right.
[11:06] Yeah.
[11:07] You know, and you're striving hard.
[11:08] And I was looking for second jobs.
[11:11] I was doing second jobs and going back to basics where push the lawnmower around the streets and, you know.
[11:17] So anyway, so that sort of got us right through.
[11:21] And, you know, my kids, they grew up and they grew up responsible and understanding and know.
[11:31] how hard it was and you know well they've got an incredible role model yeah thanks to follow with so eventually after all of that you've found infinity you obviously were looking to you know find something you'd had people knocking on your door before yeah wanting to sell you things yeah talk me through that yeah well it started off with my family my family would say to me terry
[11:53] You're going to kill yourself.
[11:54] You're working.
[11:56] You're not getting in front.
[11:57] You're just going behind, sell the house, relieve yourself of all the pain and go and rent.
[12:03] Go and buy a cheap house.
[12:05] house and I thought, I've worked too hard in my life to go backwards and I will never ever get a home if I do that.
[12:14] So that's what drove me as well.
[12:16] Yeah.
[12:17] And that's one thing I understood, you know.
[12:20] I didn't understand where money goes and all that, but I understood that.
[12:23] Yeah.
[12:25] And, yeah, I sort of persisted through it and I got through it, yeah.
[12:31] Yeah.
[12:32] So.
[12:33] Then you eventually found Infinity.
[12:34] Yeah.
[12:34] How did you find us?
[12:36] Yeah, you know, a lot of people were telling me like, you know, see your house, you can buy this property, real estates would come, I'd slam the door in their face.
[12:46] I was very rude because I had one direction only.
[12:49] Yeah, and they were not helping you stay on that direction.
[12:51] No, that's exactly right.
[12:52] And then you would hear on social media about people that can do this and do that.
[12:57] But I heard Graham and I was just like.
[13:02] He's different.
[13:03] This, he's different.
[13:05] And I usually, I can tell when someone's, like, talking out of their arse or, you know, I can tell.
[13:14] And he just grabbed me and, yeah, it was just an amazing feeling because now I had hope because prior to that, sorry, but I gave up hope.
[13:27] I thought, you know what, I'm going to be paying this mortgage off for the rest, you know, and I might as well just pay minimum repayments and I might as well just, you know, buy my kids and make them happy.
[13:42] So that's all I'm going to do.
[13:44] So I've given up hope.
[13:45] So anyone that came with some sort of idea, I'll just brush them.
[13:48] Yeah.
[13:49] But Graham, no.
[13:50] I just heard that voice and I heard what he was saying and how passionate he was.
[13:57] But it wasn't for him.
[14:01] It was for us.
[14:02] And that made the difference for me.
[14:04] And I was like, man, this guy.
[14:06] So that webinar in January was...
[14:09] Yeah, and I couldn't wait to book in.
[14:12] For the master class.
[14:13] For the master class.
[14:13] Yeah.
[14:14] What did you like most about the free webinar that you did in January of 2024?
[14:17] The free webinar where he's transparent.
[14:20] He just tells you.
[14:23] And, like, he said, yeah, I don't need him.
[14:26] A lot of people would be thinking this.
[14:27] I don't need it.
[14:29] I know he's secret now.
[14:30] Yeah.
[14:31] You know.
[14:32] You're like, I know how to pay a mortgage.
[14:33] You don't know.
[14:34] There's so much more you need to learn.
[14:36] So much more, so much more.
[14:38] And he grabbed me and.
[14:41] And I just fell in love with this bloke.
[14:44] And I absolutely did.
[14:46] And I found hope.
[14:47] I found hope and I just got kick-started again and I was back to who I was.
[14:53] If this story has inspired you to take control of your financial future, your journey starts with our free educational webinar.
[15:00] Click the link below this video to get started today.
[15:03] So you've obviously pushed from the free webinar to the paid two-day masterclass.
[15:08] So you've sat through a full two days.
[15:09] You're doing it all on your own.
[15:11] Yeah.
[15:11] You've got obviously the weight of the world on your shoulders at this point and you know you've got a huge responsibility to your kids.
[15:16] Yeah.
[15:17] Talk me through what that two days was like for you.
[15:20] The two days, the first hour was mind-blowing, absolutely mind-blowing.
[15:27] And every time Graeme would speak, there was something new.
[15:34] It was just, that's what was so mind-blowing.
[15:38] And you're attached to the screen.
[15:42] You don't want to leave like.
[15:44] when the bathroom break was announced midway, you would run to that bathroom and get back before, you know, like you didn't want to leave.
[15:51] Didn't want to miss anything.
[15:51] Yeah.
[15:52] And I would, because I've got like a room in my house and I closed the doors and I locked them and I said, no one comes in here.
[15:59] Like my kids wouldn't, you know, and I didn't eat the whole day because I just wanted to learn.
[16:07] And I knew this is hope.
[16:09] I had hope here.
[16:11] So, yeah.
[16:12] Was there anything in particular in the masterclass that was like a real light bulb moment for you or any education in particular that you were like, I never knew that before?
[16:20] Well, the banks, for instance, with their mind-blowing.
[16:24] The marketing gimmicks.
[16:26] Yeah, the marketing gimmicks, but also the offset accounts.
[16:29] Yeah.
[16:30] That was like mine.
[16:31] And I'm looking back in all my statements after the webinar and I'm thinking, I just can't believe they actually do this.
[16:39] You know, you think they're there to help you because they've lent you money and da-da-da, but.
[16:45] And so you learned that in early 2024, right?
[16:47] Yeah.
[16:48] That banks don't always link the offset accounts, you're actually losing money, you're paying more for them.
[16:52] Yeah.
[16:53] Are you surprised that even in 2026 that we're still reporting on offset accounts?
[16:58] 100%.
[16:58] Isn't that crazy?
[17:00] I still can't believe it.
[17:01] After all the fines that they've copped and they still keep continually going through it.
[17:06] Like I see the banks now as the Woolworths and the Coles.
[17:09] Yeah.
[17:11] You know, how they're trying to always price gouge and whatever they're doing to make the extra buck at our cost.
[17:17] Yeah.
[17:18] You know how hard working hours and our cost, you know, it's time.
[17:23] But the irony is too, like the amount of money they're making from not linking these offset accounts, right, and not passing on those benefits versus the small fine they get.
[17:33] Yeah.
[17:34] It's a slap on the wrist for them.
[17:35] Exactly right.
[17:35] That's one of the things that stood out and I'm like, how does this match up?
[17:40] You know, they've cost so many millions and, you know, billions, whatever it may be, and they're only copying this smidgen of like, only if it can work like that with us when we do something wrong.
[17:52] I know.
[17:52] You know, it's absolutely ridiculous.
[17:55] Yeah.
[17:56] Because you think if Infinity did something like that, I mean obviously we're not a bank, but if we did something like that,
[18:03] Bekingy wouldn't have a business.
[18:05] We'd be done.
[18:05] Exactly right.
[18:06] Absolutely done.
[18:06] Yeah, yeah.
[18:07] They're always going, you know, yeah, it's absolutely ludicrous.
[18:11] Yeah.
[18:12] And one thing else that stood out to me was the credit cards.
[18:16] Credit cards was a massive thing and I had two of them.
[18:20] And you just want to launch them as quick as you can, you know.
[18:22] Yeah.
[18:23] And cut them up and get rid of them.
[18:25] So, yeah, that's something, you know.
[18:28] And there were so, so many things that, you know, you learn and that's what holds you to that masterclass.
[18:35] Yeah.
[18:36] And you just want to, you know.
[18:38] What was it like crunching your own numbers and seeing how quickly you could pay your home loan off in?
[18:42] Because you've gone from not being able to make repayments, getting behind in your repayments, going to a default interest rate to now seeing a complete 180 of where you could be with your home loan.
[18:55] Yeah.
[18:55] What was that like, crunching those numbers?
[18:58] It was, you know, there's so much hope and there's so much excitement.
[19:02] I was jumping out of my skin like...
[19:05] You know, I just couldn't breathe.
[19:08] My chest actually tightened up and I couldn't get that breath out because I was so excited, you know, and my kids, I've always, you know, they've always seen the silly side of me and they saw it that day and they were like,
[19:23] Dad, what's going on, you know, and would run around the house and the Lord would follow me.
[19:28] And it was just a lightbulb moment and bursted in excitement and I knew that, you know, I'm going to move from this day on.
[19:39] I saw a happy dad again.
[19:41] Yeah, absolutely.
[19:42] Yeah.
[19:43] So then you've signed up from there.
[19:45] So you found the webinar in January, 2024.
[19:47] You did the masterclass in March of 2024.
[19:50] Then you've signed up to work with us.
[19:53] Talk me through what those initial first couple of months were like for you and, you know, working with our team and getting a strategy written for you.
[20:00] Yeah, working with the team, it was just like there was so much support and so many phone calls with support.
[20:10] Like I was, you know, like I've never had that.
[20:15] You sort of have to do everything for yourself.
[20:18] Everything is for yourself when you're with, you know, the banks or the brokers, whatever.
[20:25] But with Infinity, everyone, like people were reaching out like unexpectedly and
[20:31] And as soon as you hear the words, I'm from infinity, your eyes just light up because you know the direction is forward and they're there to help.
[20:43] And the light at the end of the tunnel is just so much brighter.
[20:47] Yeah.
[20:47] And do you remember how quickly you could pay your home loan off in?
[20:51] What that first strategy was?
[20:52] Yeah.
[20:53] Well, from having a never-ending mortgage of 30 years because I was constantly refinancing to having hope now to eight years, seven years.
[21:04] Yeah.
[21:05] It's just, how is this possible?
[21:08] No.
[21:09] Like it's wild.
[21:09] Yeah, absolutely.
[21:11] Just with some restructuring and the right budgeting plan and the right team behind you.
[21:15] Exactly right.
[21:16] Yeah.
[21:17] You know, and that's what we're taught from a young age, you know, follow what the generation done prior and, you know, this is the way and all the barbecue talks and, you know, follow this, follow that.
[21:33] But it is all wrong, dramatically wrong, you know,
[21:39] now I know what I know now because of infinity and it's just you want to help people you want them to understand like you know like go and see Graham go and see infinity like sign up because you're your worst enemy yeah you're only getting in your own way yeah if you don't even look at at least at the free webinar and what what I found that
[22:05] You know, I used to procrastinate.
[22:08] I used to think, oh, is it the right way?
[22:11] But I don't think that anymore.
[22:13] Like I just do.
[22:14] Yeah.
[22:15] I just do and want to do and you just know the next step, you know.
[22:20] It's just, yeah, absolutely mind-blowing.
[22:23] Because you've been able to achieve a lot on your own as well throughout this journey.
[22:28] So what was the home loan balance when you started and what is it today?
[22:32] When I started, it was $629, $630, around there.
[22:34] Yeah.
[22:34] And today we're at $524, $524.
[22:35] Wow.
[22:35] And, yeah.
[22:36] Just over $100,000.
[22:37] Yeah.
[22:37] In just over two years.
[22:39] Yeah.
[22:39] All on your own.
[22:40] Yeah.
[22:40] Yeah.
[22:53] That's incredible.
[22:54] It's absolutely incredible.
[22:56] And in my wildest dreams, never, ever would I ever, ever think that.
[23:01] Yeah.
[23:01] And you're living back in the home now.
[23:03] Yeah.
[23:03] Back into the home.
[23:04] So we eventually were able to get the tenant out.
[23:06] Yeah.
[23:07] And you're back in the home with the kids now, which is great.
[23:10] And now you've got a very healthy redraw balance.
[23:13] Yeah.
[23:13] Just over two years.
[23:14] Yeah.
[23:15] And you've done it all on your own while looking after the kids.
[23:17] Extremely healthy.
[23:18] Yeah.
[23:19] And it's... You're so proud of yourself.
[23:20] It's...
[23:22] Once the ball started rolling, like it's just going down the hill at a rapid rate and it's going so quick and, you know, it's so inspiring.
[23:34] Yeah.
[23:35] Yeah, to my kids, which, you know, they're seeing them because I bring them into it and I show them exactly where I'm at and, you know, they're so inspired.
[23:47] Yeah, how are they finding the journey?
[23:48] Yeah.
[23:49] Yeah, they see the change.
[23:51] Yeah.
[23:51] You know, they see the change where the luxuries that we used to have in terms of like buying, you know, toys and buying video games and all that doesn't happen now.
[24:06] Like if they want it.
[24:09] They've got to go and work to get their own money, to understand money.
[24:13] Budget for it.
[24:15] Yeah.
[24:16] And the budget that now is in place is absolutely amazing.
[24:22] Like, you know, you wouldn't even call it a budget because you're living that comfortably.
[24:26] Yeah, yeah.
[24:28] In that budget.
[24:29] Yeah.
[24:30] It's still fun.
[24:31] Yeah, absolutely.
[24:32] Yeah.
[24:33] Absolutely.
[24:34] So now we eat the right foods, the healthy foods.
[24:41] Like everything is what it should have been years and years ago.
[24:45] Yeah.
[24:45] Yeah.
[24:46] And what's been your biggest wow moment over the last two and a bit years?
[24:50] The biggest wow moment is...
[24:54] Oh, there's so many.
[24:56] There's absolutely so many.
[24:58] But knowing that now there's a future and I'm going to be comfortable and I don't have to work...
[25:10] work as hard as I've been working all my life um and you know and yeah I'm comfortable I'm I will be comfortable I know yeah and how does it feel also knowing that you've got the security of being able to own that home as well because you you were once told by many people sell it yeah go and rent put get get rid of the stress off your shoulders but we've been able to turn that around when no no you can keep the home yeah let's pay it down and you know what was the thing about um
[25:40] When I got out of it, like when I joined Infinity and there was so many changes and I didn't, it wasn't just the changes I know and my kids know, everyone around me saw the changes.
[25:52] Yeah.
[25:53] And they're like, how?
[25:55] How is this possible when you have gone to, man, like to losing absolutely everything to now this?
[26:05] Yeah, yeah.
[26:06] To net, like, yeah.
[26:08] We're able to restructure everything for you.
[26:10] We refinanced you.
[26:12] You're on a nice, healthy home loan.
[26:14] Yeah.
[26:15] The guidance that infinity gives...
[26:20] is next to none.
[26:22] Like there's just every client that I know, everyone owes it.
[26:29] Like we have conversations that we owe Infinity more than we can give.
[26:36] Like it's just, yeah, and yeah, it's just amazing.
[26:41] And what else have you been able to achieve with Infinity?
[26:44] Um, well.
[26:46] Because you're not just paying the home loan down.
[26:48] Yeah, that's the thing too.
[26:49] You know, I'm paying the home loan at a rapid way in the journey of God and then invest two investments in that time which, now that's mind-blowing.
[27:04] That's crazy.
[27:05] You know, I've gotten two investments in that short time.
[27:08] Yeah, because you've got one in Self-Managed Superfund and one in Equity.
[27:12] Yeah.
[27:12] Yeah.
[27:14] Which is amazing.
[27:15] Absolutely amazing.
[27:16] Absolutely amazing.
[27:17] And yeah, that's yeah.
[27:21] Something I never thought I could ever do.
[27:23] Yeah.
[27:23] Ever, ever do.
[27:25] And you've also been able to invest a little bit of money into a mortgage fund as well.
[27:28] Yes.
[27:29] Which is giving you some passive income.
[27:31] Yeah.
[27:31] Which is also helping you pay the home loan down.
[27:33] Yep, exactly right.
[27:34] Yeah.
[27:34] And I've got my hand in a lot of pies there.
[27:39] Whatever I can do, let's do it.
[27:42] Infinity has given me that opportunity because you've got X amount here, you can earn X,
[27:50] more passive income here, let it happen, you know, I let it happen and it's just like this is what is making me get in front at a crazy rate, yeah.
[28:03] Is there anything about Infinity's journey that has surprised you?
[28:06] I know definitely the investment property and the mortgage fund to give you that bit of extra income but is there anything else that we've been able to give you that you've just gone, I was not expecting I'd get this?
[28:16] Yeah, like I've said, there's so many things, but, you know, the community, the support in the community itself, we're a family, right?
[28:31] You know, the advice from Infinity is amazing.
[28:35] The direction, it's just, yeah.
[28:39] Yeah.
[28:40] Because you've been able to meet a lot of people through our community as well.
[28:43] A lot.
[28:44] Yeah, like you've made a lot of friends and people that you can bounce off.
[28:48] Yeah, that's one thing with the community, with Infinity.
[28:54] Everyone wants to help.
[28:55] Everyone wants you to go that extra stride, you know.
[29:01] No one's selfish.
[29:03] I have not met one client.
[29:06] I haven't met one bad apple in the two, two and a half years I've been here.
[29:11] I haven't met one and I try and find it but you can't find it.
[29:16] You absolutely can't find it.
[29:17] Yeah.
[29:18] Yeah, we have a beautiful community.
[29:19] Absolutely beautiful.
[29:20] Yeah.
[29:21] It's amazing.
[29:22] Amazing people and, you know, led from the top and it just filters all the way down.
[29:28] Yeah.
[29:28] All the way down and it turns, say myself, and I had a direction.
[29:33] Now I want to help other people to find infinity to help them and you're not selfish.
[29:41] Yeah.
[29:41] You just want to help.
[29:42] Yeah.
[29:42] Yeah.
[29:43] You just pass that on.
[29:44] Yeah.
[29:44] Yeah.
[29:44] Yeah.
[29:45] Now, if your three kids were here sitting next to you, what is something that you would want to tell them about your journey and going from, you know, the absolute depths of despair to where you are today?
[29:57] Yeah, well, my kids have seen all that and, you know, and if I could, you know, tell them today that,
[30:11] You know, I've learned of the master, you know, and I've learned so much about money and the direction and the purpose.
[30:21] And.
[30:23] Like what the master's filtering down to me, I'll filter it down to you and you will be comfortable in life.
[30:31] Yeah.
[30:31] You know, and that's what keeps me happy because I know they'll be comfortable.
[30:36] Yeah.
[30:37] You know, of not just my own back, of them understanding money and striving to get their own.
[30:45] Because you're teaching them the same strong work ethics that you had.
[30:47] Yeah, exactly right.
[30:48] But now they've got a bit of a leg up because they're going to be able to use it more effectively than you once did because you didn't have that education before.
[30:54] Yeah, exactly right.
[30:56] And I'm giving them the education I'm learning but I'm also –
[31:01] charging them a little bit of rent.
[31:03] Yeah.
[31:04] You know.
[31:04] Teaching them some responsibility.
[31:06] Yeah.
[31:06] Yeah.
[31:07] And my youngest son, he's 16, and he says to me, okay, Dad, like I'm still at school and I'm working at KFC, how much do I have to pay rent?
[31:15] And I worked it out in percentages for all three of them.
[31:18] I said, well, you have to pay $3.85 a week.
[31:22] That's your rent, you know, to cover it.
[31:24] And he goes, yeah, but okay, I'm fine with that.
[31:26] I understand.
[31:26] Because it teaches them.
[31:28] Yeah.
[31:28] Yeah.
[31:29] Makes them understand, yeah.
[31:30] Yeah.
[31:30] And what's your biggest goal for them?
[31:34] My biggest goal is for them to jump on board and follow what I'm doing and what Infinity has taught me.
[31:42] And once I see that, you know, from them wanting and doing it on their own accordingly,
[31:50] Yeah.
[31:51] I'm at peace, yeah.
[31:52] Yeah.
[31:53] And what are some of your personal goals and some things that you want to achieve?
[31:56] I mean you've already achieved so much in two and a bit years.
[31:59] What are you hoping to achieve moving forward in the next couple of years?
[32:03] Well, stay on the same path that I am and I definitely will and I know that, you know, I'm going to get more investments and I'm going to slow down work and I'm going to –
[32:18] Enjoy, enjoy life.
[32:20] I'm like, yeah, absolutely enjoy life.
[32:22] Because we have to get you at least one more.
[32:24] You said you wanted one investment property per kid.
[32:26] Yeah, but, you know, that was my goal, but it's going to far exceed that.
[32:31] Yeah.
[32:31] I definitely know it's going to far exceed that.
[32:34] Yeah.
[32:34] You know, and that's why I'm so happy.
[32:37] Yeah.
[32:38] Yeah, you definitely look happy.
[32:39] Yeah.
[32:39] And what does the future look like for you?
[32:42] Yeah, the future, the future, I think slowing down work and finding what life's about, you know, and see all the wonders of the world and seeing what, yeah.
[32:57] Great.
[32:57] You know, my kid's going to have a family.
[32:59] I want them to have, you know, when they get older, have a family and, you know,
[33:03] See my kids grow.
[33:04] And be able to be present with grandbabies.
[33:06] Yes.
[33:06] Yeah.
[33:07] Yes, exactly.
[33:08] And does all that actually seem achievable for you now?
[33:11] Like do you actually believe it's reality for you?
[33:13] Yes.
[33:13] Yeah.
[33:14] Yes.
[33:15] You know, since I joined Infinity, it's just –
[33:20] all these light bulbs just popped up and now it's all achievable and I've got no doubt in my mind.
[33:27] Like it's just so, yeah, mind-blowing.
[33:31] If you stay the course, it's absolutely going to happen for you.
[33:34] You'd be ludicrous to know.
[33:35] Yeah.
[33:36] Well, thank you so much for sharing your story.
[33:38] Is there anything you'd like to add before we wrap up?
[33:43] If you've got a broker out there, don't trust your broker.
[33:47] You come to infinity and they'll solve it all for you because the brokers are in it for themselves, absolutely in it for themselves.
[33:57] The banks, the brokers, they all get their commission and everything.
[34:02] It will continue 30 years upon 30 years and mortgages for you.
[34:07] Yeah.
[34:08] Awesome.
[34:08] Well, thank you so much.
[34:09] I know this is going to inspire many people, especially those other single parents that just wonder if it's even possible for them, but you're living proof that it is.
[34:16] Yeah.
[34:17] Thank you.
[34:18] Thanks, Terry.
