Sean and Sarah, a couple from Sydney with a young daughter, completely transformed their financial life after discovering new concepts about money and investing through a podcast, realising the mistakes they had been making and deciding to change their strategy. They sold assets that no longer made sense, walked away from a risky project, reorganised their finances with discipline (including a strict family budget), and began investing more intelligently, allowing them to fully pay off their home and build a portfolio of multiple properties.More than the financial outcome, the biggest impact was on their family dynamic: they adoptedfull transparency with their daughter about money, created more conscious spending habits, and developed a long-term mindset focused on choices rather than restrictions, showing that organisation, family alignment, and consistency can lead to financial freedom and a profound life transformation.Change your financial future now! 👉 Start by watching the FREE webinar and see what's possible: https://bit.ly/43V2jKN

[0:00] So you can really actually afford whatever you want now, but you choose not to.
[0:05] Or choose to.
[0:06] Yeah.
[0:08] Yeah.
[0:09] Or if there's something that keeps you real.
[0:12] Does it feel real?
[0:13] No.
[0:14] No.
[0:14] Money is the root of all evil.
[0:15] The fucking lack of it is.
[0:16] Not money.
[0:17] The lack of understanding money.
[0:19] When I put that into emphasis, when I realized that psychological effect and how it hit our family, I have to be in the fucking way.
[0:32] They had the careers and the property.
[0:35] What they didn't have was any idea whether it was actually working.
[0:40] Sean and Sarah have spent over 23 years in aviation, high performers at work, running on instinct at home.
[0:47] They had savings, super, and a couple of investments, but no financial literacy to tie it together and no budget guiding any of it.
[0:58] A podcast led to a book.
[1:00] The book led to a masterclass.
[1:03] In February 2024, they signed up.
[1:05] The instinct finally had a system behind it.
[1:09] The mortgage on their home?
[1:10] Gone.
[1:12] A property portfolio of five investments built across personal and super, now worth close to $5 million.
[1:19] Meet Sarah and Sean and how they changed everything.
[1:23] Welcome back to another episode of the Money Mentor and the Changing Lives Financially episodes.
[1:28] And today we have a very special guest with us, Sean and Sarah.
[1:31] Hello, how are we?
[1:32] Well, thanks.
[1:32] How are you?
[1:34] I'm good, but we're starting to get the giggles.
[1:37] So we're not going to get the giggles in this podcast, okay?
[1:40] Nah.
[1:40] Nah.
[1:43] No, seriously, welcome to the show and thank you for taking the time to come and share with everybody.
[1:48] Maybe first, if you can give us a little bit of background on yourselves, who you are, where you're from, what do you do for work, all that sort of stuff.
[1:57] Sean and Sarah, we live in the eastern suburbs of Sydney.
[2:02] I'm Cabin Crew, International Cabin Crew.
[2:05] Sarah works in communications.
[2:07] Okay, so both in travel airline industry?
[2:11] Yeah.
[2:11] Yeah, both.
[2:12] We've got a nine-year-old daughter and a cat called Snowball.
[2:15] Snowball?
[2:16] Is Snowball black and white?
[2:17] No, he's grey and white.
[2:19] Oh.
[2:20] Yeah.
[2:21] When we got him, he rolled down the floor and my daughter went, that looks like a Snowball.
[2:26] That makes sense.
[2:27] I had a cat called Fluffy when I was little because it was the fluffiest cat in the litter when it was little.
[2:31] So that makes sense, Snowball Fluffy.
[2:34] Very good.
[2:35] Now, where and when did you find Infinity?
[2:39] Back in about December 2023, when the, I used to always listen to the both sides podcast.
[2:46] I always like to listen to like real estate agents and like those guys are that 1%, what they used to do for like their life and how they got ahead.
[2:55] And, you know, trying to implement some of those practices that guys are that high end do.
[2:59] And I'd listen to their podcasts and then,
[3:03] I was wandering around Los Angeles and your podcast came up and I was like, pay your mortgage off in seven to 10 years.
[3:11] This has got to be interesting.
[3:13] And then I listened to it and I was walking around and I didn't know whether to laugh or cry because I was like, oh, fuck, I've made that mistake.
[3:22] I've done that mistake.
[3:23] I've done that mistake.
[3:24] And previous to that, Sarah and I had both had gone to other mortgage brokers and other financial companies trying to improve our position and we hadn't got there.
[3:34] So, and I came home off that trip and I said to Sarah, I think I found the person for us.
[3:40] Or a problem, one of the two.
[3:42] Maybe both.
[3:43] A bit of both.
[3:44] Yeah.
[3:45] But so then I got the book, I downloaded the book and read the book and I was like, no, I think this guy's our thing.
[3:49] And then I was like, Sarah, you need to listen to this.
[3:51] And then Sarah was a bit like, oh, he swears a bit.
[3:55] Just a little bit.
[3:57] And I said, well, my father's Irish, so I'm used to, you know, the F-bombs coming left, right and centre.
[4:02] And I was like, hey, it's just like listening to Dad, really.
[4:04] Yeah.
[4:05] Without the Guinness.
[4:06] Yeah.
[4:08] Yeah, exactly.
[4:08] So that's how it all started.
[4:10] Okay.
[4:11] Okay.
[4:13] And was it initially, when you said like laugh or cry, was it like, oh yeah, that makes sense, but ouch, was it painful or was it just confronting or frustrating?
[4:24] It was probably a little bit of everything.
[4:27] Yeah, because it was like, why haven't we got this information?
[4:30] And why is this information not mainstream?
[4:32] Yeah.
[4:33] But I was like, because I've made so many mistakes, financial mistakes, which I, and they probably weren't massive financial mistakes, but I could have, but we could have been better positioned if we had that knowledge previous.
[4:44] And what, give us a summary of your financial position.
[4:47] So you watch the podcast, where to from there?
[4:50] Because it was like four back then, maybe?
[4:53] Yeah, there was four.
[4:54] So it was, I think, episode 60, 70, 68, 69.
[4:57] It was all over it.
[4:58] Yeah, I got right into it, you know.
[5:00] It was like this instant knowledge bomb just going bang, bang.
[5:05] That's how you do that.
[5:06] That's why you wouldn't do that.
[5:08] So, like, I was sharing that with Sarah going, wow, listen to this.
[5:11] This is just, you know.
[5:13] So we listened to those.
[5:14] Our financial podcast.
[5:16] Previous to that, we had our mortgage in East and Sobos, we were at $751,000 and we were like, all right, how are we gonna pay this off?
[5:25] We had another investment property down in Jindabyne, which was nearly paid off.
[5:29] And we had some land also in Jindabyne, which we were like, this is gonna be our house, we're gonna build a house and do a development because we're developers.
[5:39] Yeah, like those.
[5:40] I'm not going to say that.
[5:41] I'm going to let you tell the story.
[5:42] Yeah, so I'm going to be a developer because we'd previously done a development in Cairns, like when we were living in Cairns.
[5:50] So it's like, oh, this development thing, I can do it.
[5:52] But then when we were running the numbers, we secured the block of land with a 5% deposit.
[5:57] It was a $760,000 block of land.
[6:01] But then when we started doing the numbers, it was like, this ain't going to work.
[6:06] Like building costs in that pre-23, 24 started to skyrocket.
[6:10] Just in Jindy as a whole to get a builder.
[6:12] I mean, I go down the snow, and even as you come into town on the right, on the hill there in that estate, there's still half-built houses there years later.
[6:20] Yeah, that's exactly right.
[6:22] Yeah, so getting a quality builder and at a fixed building contract or at a reasonable price was, yeah, really hard.
[6:29] So then...
[6:31] I was like, I was actually kind of panicking because I was like, how are we gonna get out of this?
[6:34] Because this is gonna be at least a $1.2 million build.
[6:38] The whole cost of the land, the land was seven to six, you wrote two million, how much are we gonna sell this for?
[6:44] And you know, I think I kept saying to Sarah, she goes, why are you not sleeping all night?
[6:47] I'm like, I'm just worried about how we're gonna do this.
[6:49] So- Jet lag.
[6:50] Jet lag, yeah, yeah.
[6:52] I wish it was jet lag.
[6:53] The other thing was my forehead was getting big because I kept losing hair worrying about it, you know.
[6:57] I'm like, mate, this is crazy.
[6:59] Babe, you're not sleeping.
[7:00] Your hair's getting thin.
[7:01] What's going on?
[7:01] What are you worried about here?
[7:03] Yeah, so then the funny thing was, so then I'd actually sent you a message on Instagram, and this is when you really answered them all, and I did a brief outline of our financial position.
[7:13] I'm sure I was very polite.
[7:14] Absolutely really polite.
[7:15] It was actually, yeah.
[7:16] Colourful.
[7:17] Yeah, it was colourful.
[7:18] Colourful, yeah.
[7:19] She's very elegant.
[7:20] Colourful.
[7:21] Well, the response really resonated with me because you're like, the unit that we had in Jindabyne was an Airbnb and you said, sell the Airbnb, pay your mortgage off.
[7:30] And that's what we basically did.
[7:31] From the number, because you go to me and you said, we bought, it's worth X, it owes Y.
[7:35] And I'm like, oh, okay, cool.
[7:36] Sell that.
[7:37] Yeah.
[7:37] Get rid of the block of land because why the fuck would you want to block a land in Jindabyne because of all of these reasons and go and buy two or three investment properties.
[7:45] Yeah.
[7:46] So pretty much.
[7:46] I shouldn't have told you all that for free.
[7:49] You basically said don't do anything until... Yeah, this is what I'll do, but don't do it yet.
[7:54] Well, the caveat was on the top of it, we'd already signed up for masterclass.
[7:58] So we signed up for main masterclass, and then you're like, but don't do anything until after masterclass.
[8:04] So that's when we basically wrote to the developer and said, all right, do it.
[8:10] Pull out.
[8:11] Pull out.
[8:12] Use the sunset clause, pull out.
[8:13] Yeah.
[8:14] And then we went to masterclass.
[8:16] Okay.
[8:17] And then, so $750 something you said on the home?
[8:21] $750 on the home line.
[8:23] Yep.
[8:23] We paid it down a bit.
[8:24] We paid it down a bit.
[8:25] We got it down a fair bit.
[8:27] So when we bought it, we paid $8.51 for it.
[8:30] We got it down to about...
[8:33] Just over 300, but then we did a reno on it in 2020, because it was a small terrace, two bedroom terrace, one bathroom.
[8:41] And at the start of COVID, we'd signed up to get it renovated.
[8:44] So then we went back up to 751.
[8:46] Okay.
[8:47] And then we had the property in Jindabyne, which basically was around 800 at the time.
[8:53] If we had sold it when you first told us to sell it, we probably would have got more.
[8:58] But we got a bit of that.
[8:59] Shit happens.
[9:00] Yeah, well, you know what?
[9:01] We listened to the barbecue mafia, being your family.
[9:04] Send them an invoice.
[9:05] Yeah, I never thought of that.
[9:08] Send them a bill.
[9:09] Oh, you owe me a hundji.
[9:11] Because when we first sat down with Brenton, Brenton goes, we'll sell that.
[9:14] And I was like, yeah, okay, we're going to sell it.
[9:16] And then I was like, oh, no, it got emotional, you know.
[9:19] Yeah.
[9:19] I bought that when I first had my first flying job.
[9:22] That was back in the day when I worked for Anset.
[9:24] And I was like, oh, you know, I bought that.
[9:26] My dad said, buy this.
[9:27] And I was a bit emotional, you know.
[9:29] Yeah, yeah.
[9:30] And then he said, he just said straight up, if you don't want to sell it, don't sell it.
[9:33] We can still work with you, but don't sell it.
[9:36] But down in the journey, I think then, so that was, we'd signed up for Masterclass and started working with you.
[9:44] And then about- So it would have been early 24th?
[9:47] 24, so we signed up.
[9:49] I think Masterclass got put off until May.
[9:52] There was a few things that we'd signed up and we got a thing saying, oh, we're not doing Masterclass this month, it's been put off, it's been postponed.
[9:59] So then we went to May and then, well, I want to- A blink and you were-
[10:04] What was the bling?
[10:04] And I don't want to dive Louis in.
[10:07] He was definitely in.
[10:09] Please dive him in while we're live.
[10:11] Please tell me, did you come to REM too early?
[10:14] Oh, yeah, like in two weeks.
[10:16] Oh, Louis fucking got him.
[10:17] We were in two weeks without REM with him.
[10:19] Holy shit.
[10:20] Yeah, like in two weeks.
[10:21] But so lucky.
[10:22] You...
[10:22] Because you know it's funny, last REM, only 850 people in the room and one family were there like less than 90 days as a client because I've been pumping him on it.
[10:35] And he's like, don't say anything.
[10:36] And I'm like, Rachel was asking, don't say anything, don't say anything.
[10:39] And there was one person, like one couple.
[10:42] We talked about this hanging him out to dry my life.
[10:44] We were like, oh, do you?
[10:45] Hanging him out.
[10:46] We all love Louis.
[10:47] He's a good egg.
[10:48] So, like, we started getting the invites.
[10:50] But you said that was roster-wise as well, right?
[10:52] Yeah, I couldn't actually go.
[10:53] It might have been six months before you could come.
[10:55] Yeah, Sean got to go to the beautiful Leviton Hills REM.
[10:59] Oh, the Melbourne.
[10:59] Yeah, that's the Melbourne one.
[11:00] Yeah, that was his.
[11:02] Oh, you don't want to come to Melbourne REM anyway.
[11:04] It's cold.
[11:04] It rained.
[11:06] It's like a wedding.
[11:07] It looks lovely.
[11:07] It was pretty cool.
[11:08] I was pretty cool.
[11:09] I was sending her photos and she's like, are you serious?
[11:12] Are you seriously not at all?
[11:13] Like in the cellar.
[11:14] I had to ask them to like pull it back a bit.
[11:17] Because I'm like, guys, this is too fancy.
[11:19] This is not like, like I'm like, like from the hood.
[11:22] Like this is like, this is too much for me.
[11:24] And they're like, no, no, no.
[11:26] I'm like, no, it's too full on.
[11:27] Like it was like a wedding.
[11:29] It was like a wedding.
[11:29] That's that barrel room thing was like beautiful.
[11:33] If I was Adam Chanel, Adam, I would have asked there.
[11:35] Yeah.
[11:38] I would have got down the knee.
[11:39] Oh, yeah, actually, whatever that was covered in Caden, right?
[11:42] No, he did well at NECA, to be honest.
[11:44] He did very well at NECA.
[11:45] And then I'm like, okay, well, he's proposed.
[11:49] Like, I know a guy.
[11:50] Like, would your family be upset if I got Sir Richard to marry you?
[11:54] And Sinead started freaking out.
[11:55] I'm like, look at that.
[11:56] really married like you know like he's a celebrant but like he's a certain and it was like a freak out and it was like oh no it'd be kind of cool right it's not actual wedding oh yeah do it yeah rings made out of bloody palm leaves and it was awesome yeah that's okay so that was the first one that was the first one yeah yeah so then um our first ram or my first ram i was there by myself walked into that um
[12:21] ballroom going oh wow what have i done because i was running late we got there and then i went and saw mj straight up yeah and then walked in there going oh wow i wish i had sarah with me i need you know and there yeah i'm all on my lines yeah all my lines and you're up on stage just you know talking and then spraying everyone yeah and i was like well that's
[12:41] Yeah, that's real, how was that?
[12:43] And then I sat down and the testimonials come up nearly straight away.
[12:46] So I was like listening to those testimonials.
[12:49] And the next day I said, you know what, if I'm gonna make the best of this, I'm gonna go and speak to every testimonial.
[12:53] Yeah, right.
[12:54] Throughout the day.
[12:55] So the first day.
[12:56] Smart move.
[12:57] That first day.
[12:57] Pick it apart.
[12:58] I just went and saw, I think, one of the guys was really funny, Jai,
[13:03] Is it Jay or Jai?
[13:04] He's a Fijian.
[13:05] Jai and Reshmi.
[13:06] Yeah, yeah.
[13:08] He loves a beer.
[13:08] I give him a beer on stage all the time.
[13:09] Yeah, that's what you said all the time.
[13:11] I've had him online before.
[13:12] We're doing the masterclass and then he starts going like this because it's like four o'clock and the footy's on or something and that's when he's allowed to drink.
[13:19] Reshmi lets him drink or something.
[13:20] And he's like, I said...
[13:22] You all right, Jai?
[13:22] He goes, yeah, yeah, yeah.
[13:24] Come on, ask me.
[13:26] You want a beer?
[13:26] He goes, yeah.
[13:27] He loves a beer, good on him.
[13:29] That was the first person I spoke to.
[13:30] He's a lovely guy.
[13:31] As we were walking into the building, he said, you know what, Sean, if there's one thing I can tell you, if they say you can have two properties, ask and you have three.
[13:42] because they would have worked it out.
[13:44] We do, we do.
[13:45] They worked it out what you can afford.
[13:46] We put a buffer in it.
[13:46] And he goes, do not be shy in what you're doing.
[13:50] Try and get as many as you can, because this is what's been successful for us.
[13:54] He goes, we were probably a little bit timid at first, and we threw a little bit.
[13:58] And now, you know, so he goes, so that was one piece of advice I met from him.
[14:02] Then up on the roof, I went and spoke to Adam and Shanae.
[14:05] I was just listening to that story just going, wow, how can you have just changed that life?
[14:09] But I made sure that whole thing, I went and spoke to everyone.
[14:13] The only people I didn't speak to, which I was intimidated by, was Steve and Soann.
[14:18] Oh, really?
[14:19] Yeah, because when they were like, oh, we've got 16 properties, I was like, oh my God, how do you do that?
[14:25] Well, funny story, he works here now.
[14:28] We got a surprise.
[14:30] We just ran.
[14:30] Was he downstairs?
[14:31] Yeah.
[14:32] Well, from that, they've since become friends.
[14:34] Yeah.
[14:35] So I was on, I got called out for a duty to go to LA, not in my usual position.
[14:40] Right.
[14:40] And I was boarding the aircraft on the upper deck, and they came on, coming back from with you.
[14:47] America.
[14:47] In America.
[14:48] Yeah.
[14:48] And so then she just looked at me, and we saw them at the first, and I task based at the next REM that we went to.
[14:54] Yeah.
[14:55] You stalked them out.
[14:56] Yeah.
[14:56] You stalked them out.
[14:58] I was intimidated that he stalked them.
[14:59] Yeah, yeah, yeah, pretty much.
[15:01] Yeah, pretty much.
[15:02] Sarah's like, you're such a groupie.
[15:04] I was like, oh my gosh, where's my husband?
[15:07] He'd always be talking to someone.
[15:10] Yeah.
[15:11] And he was like, next time just come up and talk.
[15:13] And then I met them and then they were walking up the air bridge and I was standing at a door that I wasn't meant to be standing at.
[15:19] And they looked at me and they were like, Sean, and I was like, Steve, so Anne, how are you going?
[15:23] Yeah.
[15:24] Giving them a big hug.
[15:25] All these other customers are like looking, going, who's people?
[15:29] It's an infinity thing.
[15:30] You wouldn't know.
[15:31] Yeah, yeah.
[15:31] And hence then, we've had them over for dinner.
[15:33] Yeah, right.
[15:34] They're lovely people.
[15:35] Oh, the best.
[15:36] The best.
[15:36] The best.
[15:37] It's funny.
[15:37] Do you know, when they first became, Steve was Captain Skeptic.
[15:40] Oh, you've heard the story.
[15:41] Yeah.
[15:42] And then didn't have social media, didn't swear, none of it.
[15:45] Now he's like...
[15:46] He's left medicine.
[15:48] He started working here.
[15:49] He swears.
[15:50] He's on social media.
[15:51] He's posting all the things.
[15:52] And I'm like, what have I done?
[15:54] What have I created?
[15:55] He just came up and grabbed us there.
[15:58] And what did he say?
[15:59] Surprise, motherfuckers.
[16:00] Sorry, Evie.
[16:03] Five bucks in the spare jars.
[16:05] Yeah, well, what are you doing to us?
[16:07] I work here now.
[16:08] Yeah.
[16:08] We were like, what?
[16:09] Well, what a cool story, right?
[16:10] Because, like, we talked about it for years and he just, he articulates what we do so well.
[16:17] And from such a skeptic, from a highly intellectual person, he just, he articulates it so well when he shares their journey.
[16:23] And it's like...
[16:24] He's product of the product.
[16:26] And I love that Kim and Craig and Megan and Jeremy and Natalie, I don't know, 20%, 30% of our couple of hundred staff were clients.
[16:35] You can't get any more real than that.
[16:36] You want an advocate of your business.
[16:38] Yeah.
[16:38] But he's just such a good human being.
[16:41] Everyone is, but he's just a hoot.
[16:43] And I remember the last masterclass he was doing testimonial, but the last like six, I used to say, oh, I just got to run and take a leak, Steve.
[16:51] I'll be back in a minute.
[16:53] And I get up and leave.
[16:54] And I used to just stand there and watch him running on his own.
[16:57] And I was just testing how he'd go.
[16:59] I'm like, I reckon, by the qualifications, he's such a genuine...
[17:03] I reckon he can do this as a job.
[17:05] And when I finally spoke to him and I told him, he goes, you fucking prick.
[17:09] Sorry.
[17:10] I fucking do.
[17:12] I said, yeah, I was just seeing how you were going.
[17:13] If you go out on your own, I thought, like, you'd be really good at this.
[17:17] And then the whole, like, health is wealth.
[17:20] But it's like, for him, he's like, he spent his career trying to help people with health.
[17:25] But he's like, a lot of them can't afford the treatment they need.
[17:29] So this to him is like icing on the cake.
[17:32] He can help people.
[17:33] He has the health, but he can help them get in a position to be able to cover their health.
[17:38] Yeah.
[17:38] So yeah, it's weird how things work out.
[17:41] Work out, yeah.
[17:41] It's weird.
[17:43] Because he saw us last week at the community event in Sydney at Luna Park.
[17:46] Oh, yeah, yeah.
[17:46] And he said, I was going to tell you then, but then I thought I surprised you when I saw you here.
[17:51] He's cheeky, man.
[17:51] Yeah, yeah, we're like, surprise, yeah.
[17:53] I've watched the most quiet, timid, intellectual, like, full doctor, you know what I mean?
[17:59] Yeah.
[17:59] She's just like one of the coolest, funnest people you know now.
[18:02] Yeah.
[18:03] Like, good person to go have dinner and a couple of wines with.
[18:05] Yeah.
[18:06] Yeah, he was.
[18:07] They were great.
[18:07] Yeah, yeah, yeah.
[18:08] He bought an average bottle of Labertine Hills.
[18:10] Yeah.
[18:10] Yeah.
[18:11] Yeah.
[18:11] Thanks.
[18:12] Made friends with Evie, Papy Burrows and Commons.
[18:14] Oh, there you go.
[18:15] Yeah.
[18:16] Small world, there you go.
[18:18] Yeah.
[18:19] Okay.
[18:19] So you've stalked out Siouan, even though you're intimidated by them, and you met Joy and Reshbue who said, get too many.
[18:25] Who else did you just creep out and meet?
[18:28] We actually, at the REM was Alex and...
[18:33] Oh, Alesh and Rosa?
[18:34] Alesh and Rosa?
[18:35] Or Alex and Mary?
[18:36] No, Alex, the Kings.
[18:37] The Kings from Melbourne.
[18:39] Oh, yeah.
[18:39] He sold his boat.
[18:40] Alex and Kate.
[18:40] He sold his boat, yes.
[18:42] Alex and Kate, they were on our table at the REM that we went to together.
[18:45] And he's in the boating industry and he sold his boat.
[18:48] So it was amazing to speak to him about, you know, selling something that actually... Really important to you.
[18:53] It was really important to sell that.
[18:56] Yeah.
[18:57] Okay.
[18:58] So besides all meeting all those people then, let's do a bit of a how it started, how it's going.
[19:04] So obviously home loan, reno, all of that, investments, land, Airbnb, I'm assuming, Unity and Jindy.
[19:12] Where do we sit today?
[19:14] So what do we owe on the home loan from the 751?
[19:16] Zero.
[19:17] Pardon?
[19:18] Zero.
[19:19] Zero.
[19:20] Like zero, zero, zero.
[19:22] We don't have a mortgage anymore.
[19:24] Big full stop on it.
[19:27] Big balls.
[19:27] Big full stop.
[19:30] So, Sydney home, debt free.
[19:32] Debt free.
[19:33] That must feel a bit surreal.
[19:35] Very.
[19:37] Yeah, it's actually pretty amazing.
[19:38] When you see interest rates going up and stuff like that, you just don't have to worry about it.
[19:43] Yeah.
[19:43] You just don't have to.
[19:44] And we do talk about it a lot.
[19:45] It's like the pressure valve's just been released.
[19:48] Yeah.
[19:48] Completely released.
[19:50] And does it allow you to think or act a bit different knowing that that's not hanging over the head anymore?
[19:57] Or it's just nothing's changed?
[20:00] I don't think much.
[20:01] I don't think things have changed for us.
[20:04] Okay.
[20:04] We've definitely still got everything.
[20:05] No, nothing's changed.
[20:06] We stick to our FFF.
[20:07] We've got more choices, for sure, in what we can do.
[20:12] But you're not making bad choices.
[20:13] You've got choices, but you're sort of staying within the lane.
[20:17] Yeah, we still stay in our lane.
[20:20] We still, I don't know, we still stick to our FFF.
[20:23] How much is the FFF?
[20:24] 600.
[20:25] Okay.
[20:27] Tell the story.
[20:28] No, you tell the story.
[20:30] Oh, this will be good.
[20:30] Oh, yeah, well.
[20:32] I got gypped.
[20:33] Who got gypped?
[20:34] You got gypped.
[20:36] So when I was doing the master class working out the figures, that weekend, we live in Sydney and we don't have any family around us.
[20:42] So Sarah was in and out, in and out, taking Evie to sport and stuff like that, coming in and out.
[20:47] And then I'd done our budget and it started at $700.
[20:50] I'd worked it out at about $700.
[20:52] And then our first meeting with our first Ram, she goes, why don't you do 650?
[20:58] And I said to Sarah, look, we're gonna do 650.
[21:01] Yeah.
[21:02] And then it turned to 600.
[21:04] Yeah, well then, so Sarah said to me, I said, so our FFF, and I explained, well, what that was.
[21:09] And I said at 650, she goes, that sounds like FFS to me.
[21:17] So that's what we call our FFF.
[21:19] We call it FFF.
[21:20] FFF.
[21:21] Yeah.
[21:22] But we stick to it.
[21:23] We, you know, part of our journey was talking to Evie, our daughter, about the whole thing.
[21:28] So we- So we're very open with her about the whole thing?
[21:31] Yeah, very.
[21:32] How's, like, and that involves saying no for certain things and what level of knowledge are you sharing with her?
[21:39] Pretty much everything.
[21:40] Everything.
[21:40] We set her down and let her know what we were thinking.
[21:42] For everyone listening at home again, just remind everyone how old she is.
[21:45] Nine.
[21:46] So she was seven at the time.
[21:47] Yeah, at the time.
[21:48] We sat her down and said, this is what mum and dad are gonna try and achieve.
[21:52] It's gonna have some changes in our family.
[21:54] This is what these changes are gonna mean.
[21:57] We're gonna, you know, she loves going to Yochi, she loves going to Chai time.
[22:01] And it's like, you can't go there all the time.
[22:03] You can go- So it's a reward, not a habit, so to speak.
[22:07] Well, it becomes like that for her.
[22:09] You can have it on a Friday.
[22:10] It's built into your FFF.
[22:12] Yeah.
[22:12] It's your reward for the week.
[22:13] Mum and Dad are going to have a glass of wine.
[22:16] You're going to have a Yochi or you choose what it is.
[22:19] But it's once a week and that's it.
[22:23] And then we've told her about she was really instrumental in selling the Jindaby property because she loved going there.
[22:28] Yeah.
[22:29] So she loved going there.
[22:31] Not that we used a lot because obviously it took away from income as an Airbnb.
[22:35] Yeah.
[22:35] So we'd go there.
[22:36] But there was that once a year maybe.
[22:38] Yeah, like Christmas.
[22:39] We'd always go on Christmas time and stay there or just like off weeks of the school ski season.
[22:45] Yep.
[22:45] And so it meant a lot to her.
[22:46] And I said, oh, I'm going to sell this.
[22:48] And she was like, Dad, I don't want you to sell it.
[22:49] And I said, look, if we sell it, it's going to change our life for the better.
[22:53] Yeah.
[22:54] And it was really funny, I was in the bathroom and I started crying.
[22:57] And she was like, are you alright?
[22:59] And I'm like, and I said, yeah, yeah.
[23:01] I was just thinking about that conversation with you.
[23:04] And she said, oh, look, if you want to sell it, sell it.
[23:07] And I said, it's going to change our lives.
[23:09] So she's been really instrumental in, that's been really important for us.
[23:12] Very mature for seven.
[23:13] You know, like she's the only child, so you talk to them like an adult.
[23:17] Yeah.
[23:17] You know, she's always around adults, you talk to her like an adult.
[23:20] That's what happened to me, I figured it out.
[23:25] Too much too early for me.
[23:27] Too much too early.
[23:28] But she's been, so the whole journey she's known about the whole thing.
[23:32] When we bought a property, when you've come to us and said we can buy this property.
[23:36] Well, that's a good point.
[23:37] So we had home, Jindy and block of land contracts.
[23:40] So we scrapped the land, sold Jindy, paid the home off.
[23:44] Any other investments today?
[23:45] Yeah.
[23:46] Yeah.
[23:47] Yeah.
[23:48] Two in our self-managed super fund.
[23:50] And then... Three.
[23:52] Three outside of that.
[23:54] So five new properties.
[23:56] Yeah.
[23:57] That's better than a block of land in Jindy and a unit.
[24:00] Very much.
[24:00] Yeah.
[24:01] And no mortgage.
[24:02] And no mortgage.
[24:03] Yeah.
[24:04] Like what a turnaround.
[24:05] Yeah.
[24:05] What a turnaround.
[24:07] Best Instagram message you've ever sent.
[24:10] Like an influencer.
[24:11] We think so.
[24:12] Wow.
[24:13] So...
[24:17] And how is she processing?
[24:18] She understands now that there's the super fund for mum and dad's retirement has two properties.
[24:24] And there's three in your personal names.
[24:26] Are you sharing that whole journey with her as well?
[24:29] She's understanding that now at nine?
[24:30] Everything.
[24:32] We talk about everything.
[24:32] It was like for the Christmas party this year.
[24:37] We brought her with her because, like, you get to celebrate this with us as well.
[24:41] So when we came up and we talked about the Kmart wishing tree.
[24:45] Yeah.
[24:46] So that's been a big part of her learning as well is giving back.
[24:50] Yeah.
[24:50] She liked to choose all the gifts.
[24:52] Yeah.
[24:53] So you took her shopping?
[24:54] Yeah.
[24:55] So she chose for people her age, a boy and a girl her age.
[24:59] That's cool.
[25:00] The remarkable thing for us was when we got to the cash register, she said, I'll pay for this out of my savings.
[25:05] No.
[25:06] Yeah.
[25:07] So we were just like, really?
[25:09] She goes, yeah, I'll pay for this.
[25:12] Wow, did you reimburse her?
[25:13] Yeah.
[25:13] Yeah.
[25:14] No, no.
[25:16] I started, I'm like, I'm going to reimburse her.
[25:19] Yeah, but for her in her, like her head to think, I'm going to do that.
[25:23] Yeah.
[25:24] It was like, wow, this is, we're back.
[25:26] It's pretty special.
[25:27] She is.
[25:28] It's really.
[25:28] So it's been a big family journey.
[25:30] huge huge were you guys actively this open dialogue around i mean like you say yeah she's an only child so you speak a lot more but were you this open around finance and wealth and giving back or was it a bit what was the household dynamic pre-infinity probably not
[25:48] Not as open.
[25:49] Yeah.
[25:49] I've really messed shit up for you guys.
[25:51] I mean, I don't think so.
[25:52] I think you've actually opened it up for us.
[25:56] Okay.
[25:57] We never fought about money because we were doing all right.
[26:00] Yeah.
[26:00] We were doing all right, but we didn't know how to get to the next level.
[26:04] Yeah.
[26:04] Right.
[26:05] So we were never – but we were always cautious of money saying we couldn't afford that or couldn't afford that.
[26:10] But now we don't have to say we couldn't afford – we can't afford stuff.
[26:14] So you can really actually afford whatever you want now, but you choose not to.
[26:19] Or choose to.
[26:20] Yeah.
[26:20] Yeah.
[26:21] Or if there's something easy to do.
[26:24] Does it feel real?
[26:25] Yeah.
[26:26] No.
[26:28] No.
[26:28] No.
[26:29] Mentally, I think we probably feel like we're still paying our mortgage off.
[26:34] Right.
[26:35] It's really weird.
[26:36] But we're not.
[26:38] Money comes in and money comes down.
[26:39] Yeah.
[26:40] As long as you stick to your FFF.
[26:42] Yeah.
[26:43] Mum and Dave get a wine and the Yochis, it's all good.
[26:47] It's all good.
[26:48] On a Sunday night, we sit down.
[26:49] We generally have a roast dinner on a Sunday night.
[26:51] Yeah.
[26:52] And we sit down and we go...
[26:54] What have we got left in the FFF?
[26:56] We've got $3.
[26:57] The challenge.
[26:58] Boom.
[26:58] Okay.
[26:58] We've got $6 left.
[26:59] So sometimes there's a roast dinner with gravy and a bottle of red.
[27:02] Sometimes there's no gravy and red.
[27:04] Well, sometimes.
[27:05] We've got a neighbour behind us, an older lady behind us.
[27:08] We always.
[27:09] So when we do a roast, we always take a plate over to her.
[27:11] That's nice.
[27:13] She generally...
[27:14] So some weeks she might get a roast because we don't have a roast.
[27:17] She's gotten to the point now where she actually contributes.
[27:20] She's like, I'll get the roast this week.
[27:23] And there's a bottle of wine.
[27:25] That's nice.
[27:25] We're very lucky.
[27:26] We're lucky in that.
[27:27] But the week that we don't do a roast, we've probably gone too hard on the FFS.
[27:32] Yeah, exactly.
[27:38] So where to from here then?
[27:40] Like five properties, home loan paid off, obviously a really strong dynamic in the household, like really open dialogue.
[27:49] Where to from here?
[27:53] I think, I don't know, we'd like to continue because, you know, I think we've talked about this and we talk about like infinity.
[28:01] It's actually, there's not many organisations or people in your life that actually make you strive to be better.
[28:08] We try.
[28:08] Not everyone buys into it.
[28:09] We try.
[28:10] Yeah, well, not everyone buys into it.
[28:12] But if you buy into it and like you continue to listen to podcasts, you see everyone's journey.
[28:17] And it's not a thing to get better and have more than someone else.
[28:20] Yeah.
[28:21] So I think for us now it's about becoming really more knowledgeable but becoming really sophisticated investors and understanding what that looks like.
[28:34] And is there a number goal, a dollar value goal, any sort of big picture goal on the whiteboard at home?
[28:43] Yeah.
[28:44] They always change us, don't they?
[28:45] They have a gold purse.
[28:46] Yeah, they always do.
[28:47] Look, I'd like to give you double figures.
[28:49] Yeah, if you asked Evie, she'd like a pool.
[28:51] Okay, at home?
[28:52] Yeah, just like on our next level.
[28:55] Okay, just to go up.
[28:57] Live in a small terrace.
[28:59] Yeah.
[28:59] She goes, can I have a pool?
[29:01] Yeah, let's just get a pool.
[29:03] Park rubber, blow up special.
[29:05] I'll get you on a camera.
[29:10] Yeah.
[29:11] No, we don't...
[29:13] really talk about that.
[29:14] We just want to keep achieving more properties and being pushed more financially.
[29:18] Like going right, you can achieve this.
[29:20] What do you think about that?
[29:22] And just, you know, then, cause I think like you've always talked about that gives you choice.
[29:27] Being able to have choices.
[29:29] So important.
[29:30] So important.
[29:31] So important.
[29:32] What's been the hardest thing along the journey in the last couple of years?
[29:39] Besides getting gypped on your budget.
[29:42] I mean, that's a bit savage, but you know.
[29:44] Yeah.
[29:45] Sean would always say to me, that doesn't fit into the FFF.
[29:48] And my response would be, oh, FFS.
[29:55] Nothing.
[29:56] Because we just followed the process.
[29:58] Yeah.
[29:58] If anything, I'd say the paperwork.
[30:00] Yeah.
[30:01] Keep it in the paperwork trial.
[30:02] Okay.
[30:03] You know, like the superannuation paper or trial, just coming in and then... That's a journey in itself, right?
[30:09] Financial planning and auditing your super.
[30:12] And that's a whole fucking external clusterfuck of compliance and rigmarole.
[30:17] That takes ages.
[30:18] And then when Mark goes, can I have this document for that?
[30:20] And you're just like, where is that?
[30:21] Mate, where is that?
[30:22] Just send him a kebab, he'll be fine.
[30:26] We had, this is about 900 on the masterclass on the weekend.
[30:31] And Genio's made up that comedy, you know, that meme of him with the tablecloth on.
[30:37] Everyone used it as a screensaver.
[30:39] Everyone.
[30:40] People had buckets of chicken from KFC on their heads.
[30:42] They Uber Eats kebabs.
[30:44] I'll show you some pictures of it.
[30:46] It's the wildest thing you've ever seen.
[30:48] People dressed up as him.
[30:49] That is hilarious.
[30:50] I'll have to show you.
[30:51] It's got it.
[30:52] Cult forming.
[30:53] He's a funny dude.
[30:54] Dry as toast.
[30:56] Like dry as toast, but funny dude.
[30:58] When you get him on the phone, you can't get off.
[31:00] Yeah.
[31:02] He's out there probably with the air budding working under the car.
[31:06] Okay.
[31:06] So paperwork the hardest.
[31:10] What's been the most rewarding?
[31:11] I mean, obviously you pay at home often.
[31:14] It's like, wow, okay.
[31:16] Is there anything that's been really rewarding?
[31:18] I mean, from the outside looking in,
[31:21] I think watching some of the journey with your daughter, I think that for me on the outside, when I see that with like an Oscar, to me that's super rewarding because for me it's like I've got so much shit in here.
[31:32] If I can give you some of that and you can pass that down, that's super fulfilling for me.
[31:38] But for you guys, what's been really rewarding?
[31:40] The Kmart thing sounds like it was like... Yeah.
[31:43] Like that would have been like...
[31:45] It was.
[31:45] Like tissues out.
[31:46] Yeah, we both looked at each other going, wow, that is...
[31:50] Because that's something that I think every parent would aspire for or dream for in their children that's very hard to embed or teach.
[31:58] But that sounds like it's just organically occurred for her.
[32:02] Yeah.
[32:03] I think also like when we walk to school, we walk past a cafe, like a pub, and she'll see some families in there all the time.
[32:13] And she'll go, they're just wasting money.
[32:15] Yeah.
[32:17] And you're like, well, maybe they are, maybe they're not.
[32:19] Maybe that's important to them.
[32:21] But she's starting to put the cogs in place and you don't need to go there for that.
[32:26] So I think they're the most rewarding things.
[32:30] And for us, we never fought about money anyway, but we just don't have to worry about it now.
[32:38] Yeah.
[32:40] So what would you tell...
[32:42] Someone else that's sitting, because, I mean, one, we want to celebrate your success today, but if we hope that there's another family out there that go, oh, we're just like those guys.
[32:50] We're in Sydney, and we just renovated, and we this, and we that.
[32:54] What are two or three practical things you could share with them that they need to have a crack at?
[32:59] Listen to the free webinar would be number one.
[33:01] Well, that's number one.
[33:03] Being very selfish is not one.
[33:05] But being like, I mean, obviously it is free, right?
[33:07] Like you can go and do it.
[33:08] The podcasts I think are great too.
[33:10] Like the Bo Size Boys and we've just done a whole nother four.
[33:13] I don't know if you've hit those yet.
[33:15] He's always listening.
[33:16] We've got a lot of downtime when I'm away.
[33:18] Yeah.
[33:19] So like there's, I think there's, there's maybe eight or nine now, but the first four you're right.
[33:23] We're like, it's the first time I've gone, I'll do something external with like non-profit and go, this is how we do everything in our world.
[33:31] And it just went crazy, right?
[33:32] Like millions of hits on some of just the reels and that, but what could you, so webinar obviously help, I think podcasts as well, but anything that you've like from what you were doing to what you are doing, is there any guidance you could give someone for free that's tuning in?
[33:47] You've got to have a budget.
[33:48] Budget.
[33:49] Yeah, definitely.
[33:50] You've got to have a budget.
[33:52] You've got to be on the same page as a family.
[33:55] I think that's really important.
[33:56] And you've got to be not afraid to talk about it as a family and go, you know, this is what we're going to achieve, but everyone has to buy into it.
[34:04] It's like, I don't know, a family's kind of like a sporting team.
[34:07] I think everyone's got to buy into the process.
[34:09] Otherwise, if you're not, you're not going to...
[34:12] you're not going to be successful.
[34:13] They're going to pass the ball 20 times to get to the other end.
[34:15] If one guy hogs it and gets tackled, game over.
[34:18] So I would say to most people, one, you've got to have a budget, but it's not just the ability to have a budget.
[34:27] You've got to turn up with intent.
[34:29] Everyone's got to have the same intent.
[34:31] Everyone's got to put the same amount of effort in to make it work.
[34:35] And then...
[34:35] you've got to have to change your mindset a little bit.
[34:37] And it's not, you don't need it now.
[34:39] You don't need instant gratification now.
[34:41] You can actually go, all right, we can have that, but not just yet.
[34:47] Let's work towards whatever that's going to be.
[34:50] And then, or sit on your hands for 24 hours and you don't need it.
[34:53] But I think that's like really important.
[34:56] One, because you need that, you need a budget to give you,
[34:59] you know, the destination.
[35:00] Otherwise, you're just wandering around aimlessly.
[35:02] But you've got to turn up with intent, effort, and a positive mindset to actually go, the information's readily available.
[35:09] I'm actually going to change.
[35:10] We are going to change how we do things.
[35:13] That's it.
[35:13] We is the important one.
[35:14] Yeah, it's weird.
[35:15] Yeah, we.
[35:16] Otherwise, it's like, we're doing this and this.
[35:18] Is this you like?
[35:19] Yes.
[35:20] Like, it's really important.
[35:21] We, like as a unit, family unit.
[35:23] Yes, and that's probably been the really learning for us to just start and go, all right, how are we going to do this and talk about it as a family?
[35:32] Yeah.
[35:33] I'm getting a buzz for you guys.
[35:35] I'm very excited.
[35:35] We're going to have to get you to a couple of REMS, work permitting.
[35:39] I have to steal you and get you for a couple of REMS to come and share.
[35:43] I think it would be really, really inspirational.
[35:47] I think for us, the Rams and talking to the testimonial, that is one thing that's really been really positive for us is listening to people's story.
[35:58] Sarah will drive to work and I'll say, you've got to listen to this podcast.
[36:02] These guys are really good.
[36:03] She's like, oh, shut up.
[36:04] No, actually, I find them really enjoyable.
[36:06] Oh, good, good.
[36:07] Yeah, I do.
[36:09] It's always lovely to listen to someone else's journey.
[36:11] So you all have completely invested.
[36:14] Yeah.
[36:15] Even though you jipped your budget.
[36:16] Well, yeah.
[36:17] Evie, because Sean listens to your podcast on both sides and lots of, you know, the podcast.
[36:24] She listens to a bedtime story at nighttime.
[36:26] Yeah.
[36:27] and maybe this is also why she's on the page, but it will flip once her meditation, kids meditation podcast is finished.
[36:34] I'll go to the next thing on the spot.
[36:36] And the next thing that's lined up is the money mentor.
[36:38] And I'm so surprised that she does not wake up to my G, my G.
[36:43] She loves playing a hype song for before school.
[36:46] Okay.
[36:48] Yeah, it's quite remarkable that she doesn't wake up anymore.
[36:51] Yeah, I often get in trouble going, you've got another financial, she's got more money mentor going on.
[36:56] Just go straight into it.
[36:57] You'll just hear it.
[36:58] Just hear it kicker.
[36:59] I'll be like, she's going to wake up.
[37:01] You're putting it down.
[37:02] Yeah, yeah.
[37:05] I like it.
[37:05] That's really cool.
[37:08] We'll have to get you up to share the story.
[37:11] We might even have to...
[37:12] It sounds like she's wise beyond her years like Oscar.
[37:15] We might even have to get her to share with mum and dad one time.
[37:18] That might be really cool for a family.
[37:20] Yeah, watching Oscar's journey has just been... That's amazing.
[37:23] Yeah, we've got to really... Everyone's screaming out for family aspects as well.
[37:29] But I try not to expose kids to it too much because I don't really want to be like...
[37:34] hey, we're kind of marketing off kit, you know what I mean?
[37:36] I don't want to go down there.
[37:37] But in the same token, I know how powerful it is.
[37:39] When people listen to this and go, right, their daughter's on board from like at 789, that's so powerful.
[37:46] What family wouldn't want that?
[37:48] Do you know what I mean?
[37:48] So there's something in that.
[37:49] We have to explore that.
[37:50] Well, we didn't want to actually hide from her what we were doing.
[37:54] You know, like she's going to hear conversations in the household about money, property and stuff like that.
[37:59] So we...
[38:00] Want her to be a part of it.
[38:01] Because at the end of the day, we're trying to build generational wealth.
[38:05] Yeah.
[38:05] So if she knows about it early, then she goes off.
[38:09] She builds on it.
[38:09] Yeah.
[38:10] She gets older.
[38:11] Yeah.
[38:11] She won't waste it.
[38:12] She won't waste that opportunity that's been.
[38:14] Yeah.
[38:15] I love it.
[38:15] Well done.
[38:16] She'll be really proud.
[38:17] Hey, what do you guys want to ask me today?
[38:21] Oh, Sean, I'm sure you've got a thousand questions.
[38:24] I know.
[38:24] Like, look, on the plane, I've met loads of people.
[38:28] But one thing I always find really funny was like, for you and Beck, when was that aha moment?
[38:35] When did you go, look at this.
[38:38] This is just stupid.
[38:40] 2012 so it's late 2012 we locked ourselves away for a couple of months uh we were going to and from port mccrory a lot for family stuff one of her pop was a bit crook at the time we're a bit worried so up and down up and down he's fine now um and i'd come out of messy divorce so i was loaded with debt absolute mess fucking you wouldn't have gone near me like worst of the worst
[39:03] And she seen something in me and I was 138 kilos and she got me to 88.
[39:07] And it's like, at that point I think I'm going to be a personal trainer.
[39:10] Like I was fit then.
[39:11] I was like, ah, she's like, what's wrong with you?
[39:13] But it was, it was then.
[39:14] So we took what she knew from personal training.
[39:18] And how she applied that to, what are you reading today?
[39:21] The coaching aspect?
[39:22] Yeah.
[39:22] That's what we, whoa, right?
[39:25] And then as we started to test it through late 12, early 13, we knew we were onto something.
[39:30] Because it's hard to be accountable to each other sometimes.
[39:33] You just agree to do it and you almost enable each other.
[39:36] That was the true.
[39:37] No credit card, debit card only.
[39:39] Only give people access to this.
[39:41] They can't fail unless you deliberately agree and make a decision to fail.
[39:46] So it was like so many little psychological, technical product, like tweaks to go, this is, if not one of the most clinical ways for them to either never fail or deliberately fail.
[40:02] And if you deliberately fail, you can just...
[40:03] It's on you.
[40:04] It's on you.
[40:05] I mean, you're an idiot, right?
[40:07] So we're like, shit, we're on to something here.
[40:10] And we tested it and tested it and it just worked.
[40:13] Like Doug and Letitia, clients from 2012 and Kareens and like so many people, Carlos and Linnell.
[40:19] And each person, it just was going crazy.
[40:21] It was just working and working and it just got so much momentum.
[40:25] So yeah, that was like the moment.
[40:29] And then more recently, probably about three years ago, the staffing, the team, it was far from perfect.
[40:36] About two years ago, like right, we don't hire people with amazing resumes and industry experience anymore.
[40:43] We get the right human like a Steve or a Megan and Jeremy.
[40:47] And I'll interact with people like,
[40:50] Cool, my channel, want a job?
[40:51] And they're like, what?
[40:53] I want a job because I can teach the skill, but I can't teach the human bit.
[40:59] Hire the will, not the skill anymore.
[41:02] And the skill's not that hard to teach.
[41:03] So the last sort of two years, I'd say 99% of my business are fucking amazing human beings and would run through a war for us.
[41:10] And I would take a bullet and run through a war for them.
[41:12] And they know that.
[41:13] I'll get in the trenches with anything.
[41:15] So the last two years was like another little like, because it went up a notch and we don't have staff and clients.
[41:22] It's this wild, crazy community.
[41:25] And it just goes so well.
[41:28] So the first bit was like, oh, we've got this.
[41:30] Test it, break it, measure it, fix it.
[41:33] And it was like a journey.
[41:34] And then now it's just fucking, it's taken off.
[41:38] I think last month we had about $1,250 on the last masterclass for January 31st, Feb 1st.
[41:47] And we had like 1,000 people sign up and we had to say no to $350.
[41:50] Wow.
[41:50] Because I'm like, I can serve about $650, $700 really well this month.
[41:56] So we said no to $300 and gave them their money back.
[41:58] Mm.
[41:58] That's millions of dollars.
[42:00] We're like, no, here you go, do this and come talk to us later.
[42:03] Wow.
[42:04] So to be in a position to do that as a business, it'd be like having 10 planes on the ground.
[42:09] No, I just want to fly three.
[42:11] I don't need to fly the other seven.
[42:13] They're good.
[42:14] You know what I mean?
[42:15] So that's a cool position to be in.
[42:17] And you see it, Rem and stuff, like we're just having fun now.
[42:21] Like the power of the community and what would, it's fun.
[42:25] Like everyone gets paid, everyone wins, you guys make money.
[42:28] But it's fun.
[42:29] So it's, I don't know, it's really, we're very, very fortunate to be where we are as a community, as a business.
[42:34] So, yeah.
[42:36] Nice.
[42:37] There you go.
[42:38] For anyone else in your community that's an entrepreneur, like how did that, like I'm not an entrepreneur, but like anyone, because I always wonder about this, about like successful people, how do they jump to the next stage?
[42:48] What was that thing that motivated you to go?
[42:50] I know you like the divorce and stuff like that.
[42:52] Yeah, that pain's kicked it off.
[42:54] But from there and then on the journey, I mean, you've got to be fucking batshit crazy like me and have more issues than Vogue to want to be in business and be an entrepreneur.
[43:02] It's shit.
[43:04] Um, but, and it's more shit than it is good.
[43:07] But my answer is do one thing and only do one thing forever until you're the best at it.
[43:15] And this is the problem that everyone does five or 10 things.
[43:19] I've done one thing till I was the best at it and the real watered that.
[43:25] And during that time added a second thing.
[43:27] And we do two things really, really well, which is loans, mortgages and real estate.
[43:32] I don't do what MJ does.
[43:33] I don't do what lawyers and accountants fund it.
[43:35] I do two things really, really, really bloody well.
[43:40] Be the best at it.
[43:41] And don't do anything.
[43:42] Don't pretend you can do anything else.
[43:45] Perfect.
[43:45] Entrepreneurs give up way too early.
[43:48] No.
[43:49] Sometimes you've got to eat a shit sandwich for 10 years.
[43:52] So that would be my advice.
[43:55] Perfect.
[43:56] Well.
[43:57] I'm really excited for you because I'm actually a bit fulfilled and proud because it's a family thing and generation.
[44:02] I can feel it and see it already.
[44:03] So we're going to have to do a part two of this and we're going to have to get you guys to REM.
[44:08] But I just want to say a big thank you for sharing the story, sharing the journey, being such good human beings.
[44:13] And we'll get you back in for part two.
[44:15] No, thank you.
[44:16] Thanks for having us.
[44:17] Thanks, guys.
[44:18] Thanks for showing us the way.
[44:19] Well done.
[44:20] You're fucking gone.
[44:21] See ya.
