Michael and Violet share a powerful financial and personal transformation, beginning with their early years working together in a Canberra hospital and navigating life paycheque to paycheque. Their turning point came when Michael left his hospital role to build his own pest control business, forcing the couple to rethink how they managed money. Through the support of the Infinity community, they learned to cut unnecessary spending, sell high-cost lifestyle items, and adopt a structured financial plan that aligned with their goals. Their disciplined approach resulted in major wins, including significant mortgage reduction, stronger budgeting habits, and the purchase of multiple investment properties. Now focused on building a secure future for their children, Michael and Violet are intent on breaking old financial patterns and instilling better habits for the next generation. Their story highlights the power of education, mindset shifts, and community support in creating long term financial stability. 👉 Follow the link https://bit.ly/43V2jKN to watch the free webinar and start your journey to financial freedom now!

[0:00] Yeah, on the day he goes, oh, we can do three.
[0:02] Yeah.
[0:03] Three investments.
[0:03] And we're like, no.
[0:04] Yeah, that was really cool.
[0:05] Us?
[0:06] No, come on.
[0:07] And then he showed us that.
[0:08] Yeah.
[0:09] And we're like, whoa.
[0:10] This is crazy.
[0:10] Yeah, so we got three investment properties.
[0:14] Yeah.
[0:15] Two in Victoria, one in Queensland.
[0:17] Yep.
[0:18] Which is very exciting.
[0:19] That is very exciting.
[0:20] Less than 12 months.
[0:21] Yeah.
[0:22] We still don't believe it, but they're in our name.
[0:24] Yeah.
[0:26] They're there.
[0:28] It's just this whole year has been just, yeah, it's changed our whole lives.
[0:32] Yeah.
[0:32] So we're very grateful.
[0:34] Money isn't rude of all evil.
[0:35] The fucking lack of it is not money.
[0:37] The lack of understanding money.
[0:39] When I put that into emphasis, when I realized that psychological effect and how it hit our family, I FDB in the fucking way.
[0:45] You are now watching the Money Man Talk podcast with Graham Hines.
[0:50] Graham Hines.
[0:50] Graham Hines.
[0:51] You're fucking gone.
[0:55] See ya.
[0:56] Welcome back to the Money Mentor Podcast.
[0:59] This is another episode of Changing Lives Financially.
[1:02] I am your new Money Mentor and new host, Rachel Howlett.
[1:05] I'm here with Michael and Violet.
[1:08] How are we?
[1:09] Good, so good to be here.
[1:10] Yeah, we're nervous, but thank you for having us.
[1:12] You guys will be amazing.
[1:13] Awesome, well let's start with the love story first.
[1:17] We met in a hospital as a wardsman and a junior doctor.
[1:21] I want it all.
[1:21] I want the good, bad, the ugly of the story.
[1:25] All right.
[1:25] So you go, you go.
[1:27] Yeah.
[1:27] So I, um, I was working in a Canberra hospital.
[1:30] So we're from Canberra.
[1:31] I was working in Canberra hospital.
[1:33] I was full time in ED as a wardsman.
[1:36] Um, we did all the transportations of people and we did a lot of recess on people too.
[1:40] So we're the ones doing all the CPR.
[1:43] So you're saving lives while we're changing lives.
[1:45] Yeah.
[1:46] Yeah.
[1:46] No, it was just a fill-in job.
[1:48] It was just a fill-in job, but yeah, did that for four years.
[1:50] And then Violet was at the hospital.
[1:52] Yeah, I was a junior doctor at the time.
[1:54] And I think, yeah, we met when I was doing my ED rotation as well, which was nice.
[1:59] And yeah, Michael was always so friendly and I just thought he's a friendly guy.
[2:02] He's friendly with everyone, but it turns out he's been trying to ask me how I'm going to take.
[2:07] Snagged himself a doctor.
[2:08] Yeah, I know.
[2:09] I was pinching myself for a while.
[2:12] So, you know, yeah, it was there.
[2:14] It all worked out well.
[2:15] Yeah, he was always so genuine and that came across right from the start.
[2:19] So it was hard to stay away and probably almost immediately, like, we realised that we had the same values in life and knew where we wanted to go and, yeah.
[2:29] Yeah, we did.
[2:29] We just clicked in, you know, same values and it just, yeah, went from there.
[2:34] Yeah, well, talk to me about the values, like what you wanted out of life, where you were before you met us, the money story.
[2:40] Yeah.
[2:41] Okay.
[2:42] So I had, yeah, so I did, I was working as a wardsman for four years.
[2:47] But before that, I was working with my dad in business as pest control.
[2:51] And he had his own business.
[2:52] And then sort of that didn't go too well after a while, divorce with him and mum.
[2:56] And so I went to the hospital.
[2:58] And yeah, I had no money.
[3:00] I had living paycheck to paycheck.
[3:03] I couldn't save, no budget whatsoever.
[3:07] And then we got together.
[3:08] And I was the same.
[3:10] I was a junior doctor.
[3:12] It was the first time I had a proper job in Australia.
[3:16] six or so years um and we're paying rent trying to live our own life and just get ahead but it was almost impossible despite working endless hours so we were just trying to figure out what the way forward was and um yeah then michael always had a dream to do his own pest control and he was always so nerdy about it like
[3:35] I had never known how interesting pests could be until Michael came along.
[3:41] Somehow, yeah.
[3:43] It's what I knew most of my life.
[3:45] But yeah, so then we got engaged in, when was it?
[3:49] It was 2019.
[3:51] Yeah.
[3:52] Then we had a wedding in 2020.
[3:54] And then when we had our wedding, I had no money.
[3:55] She was putting in everything.
[3:57] Yeah.
[3:57] And it was okay.
[3:58] It was a very simple way.
[3:59] And I was trying, but I was just on a shit wage, you know, it was just getting nowhere.
[4:03] Yeah.
[4:04] And obviously I had no budget and I liked my hobbies, my toys and my bikes.
[4:08] Yeah, we're going to talk about the toys.
[4:09] Yeah.
[4:11] We're going to talk about the toys.
[4:13] But, yeah, you really wanted to do your pest control.
[4:16] So we got married in COVID when there was a hundred people limit.
[4:20] So that obviously helped our budget.
[4:22] Being Lebanese.
[4:23] Oh, so you were kind of, oh, of course.
[4:25] Yeah.
[4:25] You would have usually had a really big wedding.
[4:28] Yeah.
[4:28] We would have otherwise hadn't had a big wedding.
[4:30] So that helped the budget.
[4:32] Yeah.
[4:32] So we'll blame COVID.
[4:33] Yeah.
[4:34] Yeah.
[4:34] Correct.
[4:35] And then, yeah, I quit the hospital, quit my full-time job and started up my own business with no money and no contracts, no nothing.
[4:40] Just as long as I heard.
[4:42] Just a woman who believed in you.
[4:43] Yeah, a lot of support, which is great.
[4:45] And then ever since then, it's been four years on my own.
[4:49] And yeah.
[4:49] Yeah.
[4:50] He's been killing it.
[4:51] Like he, you have worked so hard these last four years.
[4:55] You've smashed it.
[4:56] That's what we're saying.
[4:57] Like we're working, you know, for two months in a row, seven days a week.
[4:59] You just, you had to do it.
[5:00] You got to do it, right?
[5:01] There's no magic wand is what Graham always says.
[5:03] There's no magic wand.
[5:04] Yeah.
[5:04] Yeah.
[5:04] And then I was actually, we'll talk about it soon, but yeah, coming up here on the flight, we were just like, you know, I've never had a day off from work.
[5:12] When you're sick, you just got to go.
[5:14] You got to go.
[5:15] You take a day off, you don't get paid.
[5:17] And then, you know, we fly up on the Friday and I was like, you know, I just, I don't even, I'm not even stressed about money at the moment because things are in place.
[5:25] We've got a good structure.
[5:26] We've got a great team.
[5:28] And not even thinking about money at the moment.
[5:29] And it's a Friday.
[5:30] We get to enjoy.
[5:31] We just get to enjoy the day.
[5:33] It's amazing.
[5:33] It's been amazing.
[5:34] Yeah.
[5:34] So we're talking more on that, but would you say that is from your journey with Infinity that you've been able to have that?
[5:41] To achieve that, yeah.
[5:41] We'll talk about that later.
[5:43] It's amazing.
[5:43] It's really cool.
[5:45] Yeah.
[5:46] So talk to me about the home purchase.
[5:48] When did we buy and what was that mortgage?
[5:50] So we bought in 2021, November 2021.
[5:56] And yeah, we were looking around for a while.
[5:58] We were renting at the time in Canberra.
[6:01] And we really liked the feel of where we're currently living and the community there.
[6:06] We had a look around and we actually, the current house that we bought,
[6:11] We just actually went in for shits and giggles and were like, how cool would it be if we lived here?
[6:16] It was just so much more spacious than our tiny shoe box that we were living in.
[6:20] Um, there were way more rooms than that we needed.
[6:22] There was a big backyard.
[6:23] We had, we have a border collie dog.
[6:25] And, um, we just kind of looked at each other like, could you imagine we just walked through and, you know, just like everyone else that walks through a house, we were pretty sold, but we knew that it was way above our budget and we were really scared and, um,
[6:39] We put an offer in, but we were like, do we do it?
[6:41] Do we not do it for so long?
[6:43] And then the offer got accepted.
[6:45] So then we're like, shit.
[6:47] Oh, my God.
[6:48] Yeah, it was stressful.
[6:49] So we've gone from renting a small place to jumping straight into a big place.
[6:53] How much were we renting for?
[6:55] And then what was the monthly repayment on the mortgage?
[6:57] Rent was so cheap.
[6:59] 500 max a week.
[7:00] It was, I think it was 450 a week.
[7:01] It was even cheaper than that.
[7:02] It was only a two bedroom townhouse.
[7:04] It was, it was, it was.
[7:05] So about 2000 a month.
[7:06] And what mortgage did we just jump into?
[7:08] It was, well, we bought during low interest rates, which is what sort of, we were like, okay, this is our saving grace.
[7:15] But it was about 4k a month.
[7:18] What was the house?
[7:19] Doubled our expenses.
[7:20] Doubled our expenses.
[7:21] Yeah.
[7:22] But yeah, the house, what was 1.15?
[7:23] Yeah, 1.155.
[7:24] So $1,155,000.
[7:24] So you had a mortgage of over a million dollars.
[7:26] Yeah, our budget was under a mil.
[7:34] So we are those people that like nice things.
[7:36] Just jumped into the defense.
[7:37] Yeah.
[7:38] Get sucked into that.
[7:40] But yeah.
[7:40] So we were shooting bricks.
[7:43] We were nervous.
[7:43] We were definitely nervous.
[7:44] Yeah.
[7:44] And that's when like, you know, we just, we knew what we had to do is just go to work.
[7:48] But that's what we knew.
[7:49] We just knew we got to go to work.
[7:51] And we thought, like everyone else around us, we've got the mortgage.
[7:55] That's now acceptable.
[7:57] Move on.
[7:57] Yeah.
[7:58] Set and forget, right?
[7:59] Yeah.
[7:59] And that's what we... Do minimum repayments.
[8:00] Give your 30-year loan term.
[8:02] Yeah.
[8:02] Everyone else is in the same position.
[8:04] Yeah.
[8:05] We'll be all right.
[8:05] We kept doing the math with our income.
[8:07] And what if this happens?
[8:08] And what if one of us can't work?
[8:09] We're like, all right, we can try and make this work.
[8:11] Yeah.
[8:11] So we just kept doing it.
[8:13] And that's all we knew.
[8:14] Yeah.
[8:14] And yeah, so it was, and then interest rates come off and we'll pay six, six a month.
[8:18] And so that was very stressful.
[8:20] So you fixed.
[8:21] We fixed for two years.
[8:22] Only two years.
[8:23] The whole loan.
[8:24] Yes.
[8:24] Yeah.
[8:25] Oh, you would have loved the masterclass when we were talking about that.
[8:28] Yeah.
[8:28] Yeah.
[8:28] Yeah.
[8:29] It was, yeah, the masterclass was a game changer.
[8:33] Yeah.
[8:33] Yeah.
[8:33] It was, it was, yeah.
[8:34] If our eyes could be further away from our head, they would be.
[8:38] But we were just like, oh my God.
[8:40] Yeah.
[8:41] It was, yeah.
[8:43] It was pretty crazy.
[8:45] But yeah, so I guess after all that, Michael's business was doing very well and I was finally on an income that meant that we had a little bit of a dispensable income too.
[8:58] And that's when we started to think.
[9:00] It was the first time in our lives that either of us were in that position and anyone in our families were in that position where we could start to think about, okay, what do we do with all this cash flow?
[9:10] That's where toys came in.
[9:12] And Michael's like, well, I'm not paying a cent of tax, so.
[9:15] Oh, gosh, it's getting worse.
[9:19] Lucky to you today, Nicky.
[9:20] Yeah, I'll be a bit nicer.
[9:24] Yeah.
[9:25] It's all we had around us was I had some other boys in business too where they're like, you know, how much do you say that you pay?
[9:30] What's what you're hearing from other people, right?
[9:33] Barbecue Mafia.
[9:34] Exactly.
[9:34] Yeah.
[9:34] Barbecue mafia.
[9:35] That's all we knew.
[9:36] So pay minimal GST, pay no tax.
[9:39] That was our strategy and it wasn't working.
[9:42] It wasn't working.
[9:42] And when we did the master class, we did the free webinar.
[9:45] But as an aside, I did tell him, I was like, you are still spending money on shit we don't need.
[9:51] Yeah.
[9:51] So you're hardly saving any money.
[9:53] It took a while.
[9:54] Yeah.
[9:54] It took a while.
[9:55] We were always umming and ahhing about, okay, well, what should we be doing?
[10:00] What can we be doing better?
[10:01] And...
[10:03] We were just both like, and then just went for another month.
[10:06] And then the next month we'd have the same conversation again.
[10:08] Yeah.
[10:09] And then come tax time when we'd actually see what our income was for the year because otherwise we would not have known.
[10:15] We'd just come out being like, how did we earn that much?
[10:18] And where did it go?
[10:19] And where is it?
[10:19] Yeah.
[10:20] It's in the garage.
[10:21] Yeah.
[10:22] Or my phone.
[10:23] Because like, what do you mean I knew where my phone was?
[10:27] I can see it.
[10:29] I'm feeling it.
[10:30] No, it was all gone.
[10:31] Yeah.
[10:32] Yeah.
[10:32] So, yeah.
[10:33] But we didn't know any different, right?
[10:34] Yeah.
[10:35] And then, yeah, it was amazing.
[10:37] Yeah.
[10:37] So then talk me through the feelings and the conversations you were maybe having around this time when you were about to find infinity or when you did find infinity.
[10:46] So it was this back and forth about, okay, Michael's got all this profit from his business.
[10:52] How do we maximise that and how can we bring down our mortgage as much as we can?
[10:58] We had a couple of conversations with our accountant about how we can move money into our offset.
[11:03] And then we really started to put that into motion and figure out that, oh, this actually works.
[11:09] And then how we found him, Finiti.
[11:14] So I got my own pest control business and then Jeff White and Christine.
[11:18] Oh, my God.
[11:18] I love Jeff and Christine.
[11:19] They were my clients when they signed up.
[11:21] Yeah.
[11:21] He's a lovely guy.
[11:23] So I went to his house the last time just for some pest control things and he was selling.
[11:29] His house was on the market and he was.
[11:31] That was right before they moved up here.
[11:32] Yeah, it was.
[11:33] Yeah, and he goes, Mick, you've got to get into this.
[11:35] You've got to listen to this guy.
[11:36] And he was so passionate about his story.
[11:38] And I was like, I've never heard anyone so passionate about it.
[11:40] And it was amazing.
[11:42] And he told me everything.
[11:44] And then it was a Tuesday when you guys were doing the Tuesday night's webinars, the free webinars.
[11:49] I think it was Tuesdays.
[11:49] And now it's on demand.
[11:51] Yep.
[11:52] And it was a Tuesday.
[11:53] So I was like, sweet.
[11:54] So we went home and that was that Tuesday night.
[11:56] And then the wife goes, Violet goes, I've told you about this last year.
[12:00] Oh, no.
[12:00] I told you about this guy like, yeah, it was like 18 months ago and it wasn't until, it was after we properly signed up, I went through and clearly, you know, when you do your, and you'll clear up of all your emails.
[12:11] And I found the initial email that I signed up to do the webinar, but we didn't do it that night.
[12:16] You wait 18 months.
[12:19] Because the story is that in our history, in the history of our relationship, it always takes me so long to convince Michael to do anything.
[12:27] He's so stubborn.
[12:29] And something happened and I was like, you know what?
[12:31] I'm not bothered having this conversation with you today.
[12:33] And I just forgot about it.
[12:34] And yeah, we're kicking ourselves because when I saw that email, I was like, could you imagine we did this 18 months ago?
[12:41] Yeah.
[12:41] And that's what probably everyone says.
[12:42] I wish I did this earlier.
[12:44] If only we did it sooner.
[12:45] Of course.
[12:45] Yeah.
[12:46] Everyone's going to say it right in a lot of ways.
[12:48] They're really, probably Oscar Cho would even say it.
[12:50] Yeah, exactly.
[12:51] And he's really young.
[12:53] In his mother's womb.
[12:54] I wish I did this earlier.
[12:56] Best time to buy in the womb.
[12:58] Exactly.
[12:58] Yeah.
[12:59] Yeah.
[12:59] That's how we come across in Philly.
[13:00] We signed up and we were just, yeah, that webinar was just my fault.
[13:03] And it was like everyone else says on the podcast, like, you know, at first I think it's a scam, but I was like, oh no, we know Jeff.
[13:08] Jeff's just, we know someone that's in it and Christine's now working for him.
[13:12] We knew this was legit.
[13:13] Yeah.
[13:13] So we were excited.
[13:14] And then we're the January 25, we did the masterclass in January.
[13:19] Okay.
[13:20] Yeah, nearly a year now.
[13:22] So, yeah, we were stoked.
[13:25] It was so amazing.
[13:26] And then the first half was, you know, Jay was like, if you've got a jet ski, motorbike, caravan, and Mike was like, me.
[13:34] Give yourself an uppercut.
[13:35] And I was like, fuck.
[13:36] And it took a while to sink in.
[13:38] You're like, I'm turning the camera off.
[13:39] I'm going to unmute.
[13:40] I'm disappearing.
[13:42] But even G didn't convince him because after we signed up, we had our first meeting with the strategy guy.
[13:51] And the very first sentence, Mike was like, I'm not selling the caravan or the chef.
[13:57] And he still was not.
[13:57] He was like, it's not.
[13:58] He said, no, there's no.
[13:59] And I thought, oh, these guys are nice.
[14:01] It was negotiable.
[14:01] And they're like, no, if you want to, you do you.
[14:04] But it took four months.
[14:06] And then once, because the first few months are slow, right?
[14:08] Yeah.
[14:08] And then after that, four months, I started calculating every day.
[14:12] Okay, if I sold the caravan, this is where it will be.
[14:15] I did that for like eight weeks every day.
[14:16] Yeah.
[14:16] And then I was like, wow.
[14:17] Every day he'd come home.
[14:18] And the numbers just were the same.
[14:20] The numbers weren't lying.
[14:21] I was like, shit.
[14:23] In four months, it all started to click.
[14:24] And then, plus we're doing rapid repay with our incomes.
[14:28] Your relationship manager.
[14:29] Everything was adding up.
[14:30] I was like, wow.
[14:31] So then I started getting excited and I was like, all right, it's got to go on the market.
[14:34] And now she was the one going.
[14:35] Yeah, I was like, I don't want to get really good with this person.
[14:39] Because secretly, I was like, good, he won't, then we won't.
[14:41] I don't blame him because he's like, yeah, it's not my fault, but I love him.
[14:44] Yeah, yeah.
[14:45] Yeah, so it's just the numbers were there.
[14:48] And yeah, I started crunching those every day because I work for myself.
[14:51] It gets pretty boring.
[14:52] So I was like, wow, wow, every day.
[14:54] And then so that went on the market, that sold.
[14:56] And then I was like, wow, look at the mortgage.
[14:58] That was huge.
[14:59] So what did you sell first?
[15:00] Um, first I sold the jet ski and then just small stuff went first, jet ski, bikes, motorbike, and then a few mountain bikes.
[15:07] Um, and so that all went and then, yeah.
[15:10] So then I've got the caravan and had a big, big truck as well.
[15:12] Big Chev 2500, which was, um, that was my dream car.
[15:16] And then there was no point of having that if there was no caravan, cause that was too big, just fit in the garage.
[15:22] I couldn't drive it.
[15:22] Yeah.
[15:23] So I was like, damn, this has got to go.
[15:25] So it was sad.
[15:26] And actually... That was probably the saddest day for you.
[15:28] Yeah.
[15:28] And I was Amaranaran.
[15:29] And then I actually sat down on the couch one night and there's like a Facebook group with all these cars.
[15:33] Like I paid for the Chevy 2500s.
[15:36] Put it on there.
[15:36] That night, this guy from Newcastle, plane ticket down.
[15:39] I was like, wow.
[15:40] So I priced it to sell.
[15:42] So it was a good price that sold for...
[15:44] But I was like, well, I'm saving that much on interest anyway.
[15:46] So I lose, but I don't lose.
[15:49] You know what I mean?
[15:49] So, yeah.
[15:50] So that's something we learned this year too.
[15:52] Like, yeah, interest is calculated daily.
[15:54] Yeah.
[15:55] Which is crazy.
[15:56] And then so, yeah, sold everything.
[15:57] So everything's gone.
[15:58] So you don't have any more toys.
[16:00] No more toys.
[16:00] It's all gone.
[16:00] But our life has not changed.
[16:02] Like, that is what's crazy.
[16:03] And that's how we know that they were just toys that were sitting there.
[16:06] So you're still enjoying life?
[16:08] We're still enjoying life.
[16:09] We're not bored.
[16:11] Not bought.
[16:12] No, no.
[16:12] No, no.
[16:12] Like that's what people may think.
[16:14] Like, oh, they're selling this, this and that.
[16:15] And it's like, yeah, no, nothing's changed.
[16:18] Yeah.
[16:18] Fair enough, we don't go caravan and whoop-dee-doo, not a big deal.
[16:20] Yeah.
[16:20] But you can hire a caravan.
[16:21] Yeah.
[16:21] Hire a caravan.
[16:22] For the times you want to go, right?
[16:23] Yeah.
[16:23] And right now with the age of our kids, it's just, we knew that this caravan was going to be parked for the next year.
[16:29] because our one-year-old is a little bit wild and already rolled out in the caravan a couple of times.
[16:33] He fell down the stairs.
[16:35] That's why we took it out with him in it.
[16:37] So, yeah, we knew that.
[16:40] Even if we could still go on holidays, we just don't have to go on holidays with this extra money sitting in our front lawn that could have gone on the mortgage and saved us all that interest.
[16:51] Yeah, we're not losing out.
[16:53] It all made so much sense.
[16:54] And then I had cash from business, obviously a bit of cash jobs.
[16:57] And then, you know, everyone thinks cash is king, cash is king in your safe.
[17:00] And then it's not.
[17:01] It's just put it in the bank.
[17:02] Yeah.
[17:02] It's just like every day I'm in the – I'm probably going to get in trouble because every day I go to the ATM, cash, cash, cash, cash, because I get paid cash a lot.
[17:09] So I'm sure the ATO is going to go, why are you putting cash in the bank?
[17:11] Yeah.
[17:12] As long as we're declaring it now because we want a nice good profit on paper.
[17:15] Exactly as well.
[17:16] Yes.
[17:16] Yeah.
[17:17] So –
[17:18] Yeah, no, it all makes sense.
[17:20] Once you learn, it just opens your eyes up.
[17:23] And then you look around, you see people around you, and you're like, wake up.
[17:27] It's just crazy.
[17:28] Because like you said, it makes sense, right?
[17:30] You start to just go, it's that liberal moment.
[17:32] You go, it makes sense.
[17:34] The numbers don't lie.
[17:35] The numbers don't lie.
[17:36] The math is nothing.
[17:37] It's not girl math.
[17:39] It's real math.
[17:40] So what was the home loan balance when you started?
[17:45] So it was $1,070,000.
[17:47] That's huge, guys.
[17:48] Yeah.
[17:48] That's huge.
[17:49] And that's when we went to the master class on the weekend and, you know, there's a chat box and everyone puts in their mortgages and everyone's putting 500s, 200.
[17:56] And you're like, we're looking at each other like, we are idiots.
[18:01] We're idiots.
[18:01] And I'm like putting the numbers down.
[18:03] I'm like, don't look.
[18:05] Yeah.
[18:05] But it was huge.
[18:06] It was.
[18:06] It was huge.
[18:07] Yeah.
[18:08] And where are we at now?
[18:09] So we're at 258,000.
[18:10] Yeah.
[18:10] Shut the front door, guys.
[18:15] And I still don't believe it.
[18:16] And last week we had a meeting with our accountant because I was like, no, I don't believe these numbers.
[18:21] So we just went over all the business.
[18:24] Yeah.
[18:24] So I was like.
[18:25] And that wouldn't have all just been through the sale of the toys.
[18:27] No, transparently that would have been a big thing, right?
[18:30] Yeah, that was the big thing.
[18:31] But then our income.
[18:32] It's toys, cash.
[18:33] And fully furnished.
[18:34] Fully frank dividends.
[18:35] We've structured the business properly as well.
[18:37] We've properly structured the business.
[18:39] Yeah.
[18:39] So it was amazing.
[18:40] And then plus we make good money income.
[18:43] So a lot of that went to the rapid repay toys and a lot of it was dividends.
[18:46] Yeah.
[18:47] But it was like, yeah, that's why I was like, no.
[18:48] But again, you're earning that money in your business.
[18:51] You should be paying yourself.
[18:52] Yeah.
[18:53] Exactly.
[18:53] You should be paying that out to you to pay that home loan down and live life, right?
[18:58] And not be scared of the tax.
[18:59] Correct.
[18:59] Correct.
[18:59] So we're doing that properly now as well?
[19:01] Yeah.
[19:01] It's all done properly.
[19:02] We're doing it all properly.
[19:03] And that's exactly what we'll find up here this morning.
[19:05] And I was on the plane thinking to myself, I was like, so I've never chucked a sticky off from work.
[19:09] Even when I've been really crook, it's taken me half an hour to get out of bed.
[19:11] We have crawled under houses with fevers.
[19:13] Still going to work.
[19:15] You just got to, right?
[19:16] It's more of a mission to reschedule jobs.
[19:18] So you just do it.
[19:19] Just do it.
[19:20] And then I was thinking on the way up here, I was like...
[19:22] wow, the position we're in, this is a Friday and I'm not even stressed about money or work.
[19:27] And we can do this by just smashing that mortgage down and it just opens up different doors.
[19:33] So otherwise we'd be at work right now, just making money to spend on toys and shit.
[19:38] With no direction or structure.
[19:40] And this is what we can see now is like the way we've done this really aligns more with our values than what we were doing in the first place.
[19:48] But just not knowing what to do because we didn't have any understanding of how to maximise.
[19:55] So it's pretty cool.
[19:56] Yeah.
[19:56] It's amazing.
[19:58] It's been great.
[19:58] Yeah.
[19:59] That's incredible, guys.
[20:00] And that's really going to help your kids in the longer term too.
[20:03] They're so young.
[20:04] Yeah.
[20:05] So they're going to reap the rewards because mum and dad aren't as stressed as much.
[20:08] They know where bills are always going to be paid.
[20:11] Their money's going to be working for them.
[20:12] Exactly.
[20:13] And you'll have a home that's fully paid off soon.
[20:15] Yeah.
[20:15] Yeah, not long.
[20:16] Yeah.
[20:16] What's the goal?
[20:17] We're hoping for the rest.
[20:19] First off for the rest.
[20:20] Yeah, I don't know.
[20:21] Well, yeah, when we first started, we thought, oh, yeah.
[20:24] All right, so in terms of paying off the mortgage, when we first started, we thought it was going to be seven years.
[20:28] Yeah, take a while.
[20:29] But now we can maybe do it by this time Christmas next year.
[20:33] I think you can do it in the next 12 months.
[20:34] That's our goal.
[20:35] Yeah.
[20:35] We are knuckling down with work again.
[20:37] Yeah.
[20:38] Just see what happens.
[20:39] But next year Christmas party will be an awesome one.
[20:43] We couldn't make this one.
[20:45] We had a lot of work and just had a few embassies to spray.
[20:49] We've got no excuse for the next one now.
[20:50] No, we'll have a fully paid off home and we'll have older kids.
[20:53] Yeah, the kids as well.
[20:54] We can do it.
[20:55] yeah it's been it's been a great journey but it's only been a short amount of time so we're excited for what's ahead in the future yeah you guys so that's incredible guys well done yeah now obviously you found us through the webinar and then you've sat the master class shared a little bit of tidbits on the master class but talk me through the rest of the weekend and the journey you went through when you sat that and those light bulb moments and what was that moment you went this is the real deal we're signing up jeff was right yeah what was it for you
[21:22] It was when he was just saying as well, like when Jig was saying, you know, everybody in business pays no taxes, pays no – it doesn't make sense.
[21:31] And he was explaining that as well.
[21:33] And then he just explained interest is calculated daily.
[21:36] We all get told that, but we just don't process it.
[21:39] It was this is how much you need to earn before you even get out of bed every day.
[21:44] And when you break that down.
[21:45] So the daily calculation of the interest.
[21:48] Yeah.
[21:49] That was a good make-up.
[21:51] Yeah.
[21:52] And then when he showed us just with the restructure, how much you would actually be paying off your principal every month as opposed to what you're actually paying.
[22:02] That was a light bulb moment.
[22:03] I did not realise how little paying off our principal.
[22:05] Correct.
[22:06] Yeah.
[22:06] Yeah.
[22:08] It's just, it's crazy.
[22:08] You just set and forget.
[22:09] You just don't like, yeah, you just don't think about the mortgage.
[22:11] Like even when we had our, um, when we first started our loan, we didn't even open the bank app, so we didn't even look at the app or the loan.
[22:18] So you didn't even really know where you were at.
[22:20] It's just sticking along.
[22:20] It's just sticking along.
[22:21] Oh, wow.
[22:22] Yeah.
[22:22] We've never been around anybody, um, that's fully paid their mortgage off and still working.
[22:27] So we've never been around anyone like that.
[22:29] No.
[22:30] So yeah, it's, we're just, yeah, we're stuck in that rat race like everyone else.
[22:34] And then also when we stayed, so the other light bulb moments were staying to the end where G stays till like 11pm every night after the master class day and starts giving people advice and then watching how he problem solved people's structure to be able to maximise on investments and et cetera.
[22:55] That was really cool.
[22:56] So that's when I was like, hold on, we don't only, we can actually do more than just pay off our mortgage.
[23:01] Like we could.
[23:03] own some investment properties too which is which was just amazing yeah it was amazing and we were just so excited we're like hurry up yeah it was awesome it was cool and then we found the um the budget was pretty good we actually we like you said um with the budget it brought us closer together
[23:21] Yeah, yeah, because...
[23:23] Okay, that's interesting.
[23:23] Talk me through that.
[23:24] Yeah.
[23:25] Well, I mean, for me, I'm not a big spender.
[23:28] We clearly have established he's the big spender.
[23:32] No, so I think when we talk about, okay, well, what is our budget every week?
[23:37] We set it as a little bit of a goal and it becomes a bit fun and we open up those discussions around what we're actually spending money on and can interrogate it a little bit more around each other in a fun way.
[23:48] It's not like a...
[23:49] you can't spend money on this and you can't do that because we both know and we have a shared common goal it's really exciting the other thing is um i you know i tended to think more about meal planning and everything for the kids but because it was under our shared budget then we could say okay well we would do the meal planning together um so it meant we're sharing more of that mental load as well so um that was a big
[24:13] game changer for me.
[24:14] It was just so nice having you give some input into what we can eat because it's the bane of my existence.
[24:22] So that was good.
[24:23] And then I was like, now we can actually have fun.
[24:27] We're not stressed.
[24:28] Like we know we have this money designated here to have fun.
[24:31] So we don't need to stress about if we have enough to make all ends meet
[24:35] We know where all of that's going.
[24:36] We know that's all sorted.
[24:37] Now let's actually focus on what we love doing.
[24:40] And yeah.
[24:41] But then you also find a lot of fun ways to have fun.
[24:43] We actually don't spend any money.
[24:47] So it's actually become a little bit of a game for us, which is great.
[24:50] Yeah, now it's a game.
[24:51] It's the same when you start to see your mortgage drop.
[24:53] You're like, all right, what else can I sell?
[24:54] Because you get competitive with it.
[24:55] Yeah.
[24:56] You do.
[24:56] You do.
[24:57] Same with the budget.
[24:57] So we started at, I think it was 700 at first, which was high.
[25:01] Yeah.
[25:02] That's not too bad for a family of four.
[25:03] That's pretty good.
[25:04] Yeah, but that doesn't include fuel because fuel pays full.
[25:07] But we definitely changed it very quickly.
[25:10] It dropped down to $6.50 for a few weeks and then I pushed it down to $4.50 now.
[25:15] And I was like, no.
[25:16] That's ambitious.
[25:18] No, we do it.
[25:18] We're doing it.
[25:19] Yeah, we do it.
[25:20] You're doing it consistently now.
[25:21] Yeah, I'm very impressed.
[25:23] Yeah.
[25:23] Thanks to the slow cooker, Alfred.
[25:26] Yeah.
[25:26] Oh, I love my slow cooker.
[25:28] All right.
[25:29] I say that like I cook.
[25:29] My husband does all the cooking and he's going to listen to this and be like,
[25:32] Even you like the slow cooker.
[25:34] I like the food that comes out of it.
[25:36] That's awesome.
[25:37] Oh, that's great.
[25:38] Yeah.
[25:39] That's, that's, that's great.
[25:40] So definitely it's now it's become a game.
[25:42] Um, and now it's just become a game of how quick can we get this mortgage?
[25:45] We just, we don't want it.
[25:46] It's a disease.
[25:46] Get rid of it.
[25:48] Do you still feel like you're being pushed and motivated consistently with that though?
[25:52] Like through working with your team?
[25:53] Yeah, definitely.
[25:54] I've never said that.
[25:55] Yeah, definitely.
[25:56] It's been great.
[25:57] If it wasn't for the constant check-ins and the online portal where we can see our repayments every month, I think it's hard to visualise.
[26:06] But then also, yeah, there was a stage where I was finding it a little bit hard because I do like to shop just clothes and whatever, no big expenses like a chef.
[26:15] But so it was hard sort of earning my salary or whatever you would call it and then just seeing it go and not actually physically looking at it.
[26:24] Yeah, because it goes into the mortgage.
[26:26] Yeah, it goes into the mortgage.
[26:27] So I was like, it's hard to visualize because I am a bit of a visual person.
[26:32] So then Michael printed out.
[26:34] Sorry, it's part of the problem, right?
[26:36] We see that money go into like an offset account and we think, look how good I'm doing.
[26:40] I've got 50K in there and then we go spend it.
[26:42] Whereas when you're putting it on the mortgage like you are now, you're like, because you're like, I can't really visualize it.
[26:47] I know it's there.
[26:48] I can see it if I look hard enough.
[26:50] You don't spend it.
[26:51] Yeah.
[26:51] Correct.
[26:52] That's a huge part of our shift, isn't it?
[26:54] It's such a shift.
[26:55] Yeah.
[26:55] Yeah.
[26:56] And although we've still got money in the budget to spend on things, it's just not like, but I've got all of this money, you know?
[27:02] So Michael built a little countdown thing that we've stuck on our fridge.
[27:09] So it's got little increments of like where we started with our mortgage down to zero left owing so that we can tick them off as we go.
[27:18] And I'm like, okay, that's a nice visual for us to see.
[27:20] But, yeah, we've had a lot of fun.
[27:21] to ticks this year, which has been really nice.
[27:23] Yeah, it's crazy.
[27:23] Yeah, no, definitely.
[27:25] You do have your days, but then everyone does.
[27:28] Yeah.
[27:28] But then you just look at the bigger picture and you're like, wow.
[27:30] And then you just look at the number on your mortgage.
[27:32] Like the other month I opened up the app, always open it up, but I opened it up one night
[27:36] And I go, well, this wasn't used to that number.
[27:39] We used it as a million dollar number.
[27:40] Yeah.
[27:40] Set and forget.
[27:41] Yeah.
[27:41] You just can't even look around it.
[27:43] It's just, it still hasn't, we still haven't.
[27:45] It still hasn't sunk in.
[27:46] No.
[27:46] Yeah.
[27:47] Because it's all happened so quickly and we just still can't believe it.
[27:49] But it's there.
[27:50] Because it really, realistically, like we look around every day and nothing's changed.
[27:54] You would expect if someone's going to pay $800.
[27:58] off their mortgage, then they've sold, they're living in a shoebox, they're eating two-minute noodles.
[28:03] They've got inheritances.
[28:04] Yeah.
[28:05] That's why I wanted to say at the beginning, transparently, we did sell some toys, but it wasn't all that.
[28:11] Yeah.
[28:11] So our parents are kind of stuffed, so that's why we want to do this as well.
[28:17] Okay.
[28:17] Mum's got nothing.
[28:19] Her family as well, it's hard.
[28:20] Yeah.
[28:22] So we want to help mum and dad.
[28:23] Yeah.
[28:24] So we just got lucky with our jobs as well.
[28:26] We're both driven people.
[28:28] she's very driven as well and we bounce off each other so we do, and then that's how business started for me, she just gave me a lot of drive and now it's too busy and now I'm sick of it and now it's like how do I slow down exactly do you need someone to work for you yeah
[28:46] But no, it's been good.
[28:47] Yeah, no, it's been good.
[28:48] We're very excited now that we have something tangible and we know that if anybody needs help in our family, then we don't have to put ourselves out to help everybody else as well, which is so nice to see.
[29:00] That's amazing.
[29:01] Yeah.
[29:02] That is amazing.
[29:03] And then talk me through the journey from sign-up.
[29:04] So what did that process look like for you guys?
[29:08] What were the mindset shifts?
[29:09] Do we have properties now?
[29:11] Let's go through that.
[29:12] Yeah.
[29:13] So, yeah, we couldn't wait to sign up.
[29:15] We submitted all of our paperwork almost before Masterclass was over.
[29:18] Yeah, that night.
[29:20] And then the next day – the next week we met up with our strategist and, yeah, he started floating around this idea of having multiple properties.
[29:32] Yeah, we did believe it.
[29:33] Yeah, we did believe it, which is really cool.
[29:37] But, yeah, it was very seamless and, like –
[29:39] Like I said, like we've come from having very little knowledge.
[29:44] So we really needed our hands held and our hands were held.
[29:46] Like they walked us through everything, which was fantastic.
[29:51] So, and then, yeah, from there we met Luke who.
[29:58] Yeah, Luke, yeah, on the day he goes, oh, we can do three.
[30:01] Yeah.
[30:02] Three investments.
[30:02] I'm like, no.
[30:03] Yeah, that was really cool.
[30:04] Us?
[30:05] No, come on.
[30:06] And then he showed us that and we're like, whoa.
[30:09] This is crazy.
[30:10] Yeah, so we've got three investment properties.
[30:14] Two in Victoria, one in Queensland.
[30:16] Yep.
[30:17] Which is very exciting.
[30:18] That is very exciting.
[30:19] Less than 12 months.
[30:20] Yeah, so we still don't believe it, but they're in our name.
[30:23] Yeah.
[30:25] They're there.
[30:27] Yeah.
[30:27] It's just this whole year has been just, yeah, it's changed our whole lives.
[30:31] Yeah.
[30:31] So we're very grateful to come across you guys and we can't thank you enough.
[30:36] Yeah, we could not have done it without you guys.
[30:38] Yeah.
[30:39] Yeah.
[30:39] And I think that's the difference is I know G says, I'm giving you all this for free.
[30:43] I'm like, G, we're so dumb.
[30:45] We can't do this.
[30:47] It was really nice.
[30:50] And we've applied yourself too.
[30:51] Like it's a big thing for somebody to admit that they've been doing everything wrong and willing to just make a complete change, right?
[30:57] It took a while.
[30:58] And then we were so excited when we first started changing.
[31:01] Like, you know, you get excited, you want to tell people.
[31:03] Yeah.
[31:04] And we started telling people, friends, family, and then we sort of weren't getting the response back we thought we would.
[31:09] Yeah.
[31:10] So it took a while to sort of process that.
[31:12] Because it makes sense to you now, but it doesn't make sense to them.
[31:15] Yeah.
[31:16] And we get that.
[31:16] Like we completely understand because we metaphorically had, what is it, the wool over our eyes?
[31:23] Is that what we're called?
[31:24] Yeah.
[31:25] Yeah, for so long too.
[31:26] So it really is hard to come away from that and see the light.
[31:31] Yeah, it took a while.
[31:32] Yeah.
[31:32] So we have sort of scaled back on telling people.
[31:35] Now we've sort of – trying to keep it to ourselves now as well because, yeah, we got the response that we didn't think we'd get.
[31:42] Oh, yeah, we just got pushed back a bit.
[31:44] Yeah.
[31:44] Yeah, so –
[31:46] Yeah, so now we just sort of keep to ourselves.
[31:48] And then people will sort of ask questions soon once the mortgage is probably paid off.
[31:51] Yeah.
[31:52] I'd be like, wow.
[31:53] So, yeah, like we do tell some people, they come over, like, oh, yeah, we've only got sort of a year left.
[31:57] And their eyes are like, what?
[31:59] Yeah.
[31:59] How long have you had the mortgage for?
[32:00] I'm like, four years.
[32:02] Yeah.
[32:03] Yeah.
[32:03] Crazy.
[32:04] Yeah.
[32:04] Absolutely not.
[32:05] Yeah.
[32:06] So it is.
[32:06] We don't believe it, but it's good.
[32:09] We'll believe it in a year.
[32:10] Yeah.
[32:10] Yeah.
[32:10] It's like, it's at zero.
[32:12] You actually can see that, that you've done it.
[32:14] It's all gone.
[32:15] Yeah.
[32:15] That's crazy.
[32:16] It makes so much sense, but yeah.
[32:17] Yeah.
[32:17] You did mention that you felt like you were sandwiched between your elder parents that don't have anything.
[32:23] And then you've got the younger kids as well.
[32:25] Yeah.
[32:25] What kind of pressure does that put on you?
[32:27] And now how has that been alleviated?
[32:29] Yeah, so it's...
[32:30] So being there and the people that we are, we just...we love to help people.
[32:35] And that's, like, that is legit, like, who we are to our core and why we bonded.
[32:39] And that's what we wanted to do.
[32:42] We wanted to be the people to be, you know, that cushion to land on softly that our parents could fall on or our children can fall on as they age.
[32:50] And then staring down the barrel of our children's future and how hard it's been for us, it's only going to get harder.
[32:55] So, you know...
[32:57] uh being able to offer them some help even if it's just in the form of education was going to be um key and yeah now and you know back then we just had the idea and um we the hope that we could be able to do that one day and now we know that we can um so uh yeah that's that's been amazing so now we don't even need to think about it we just say say the word whatever you need and
[33:23] And you can do that without stress.
[33:25] We can do it without stress.
[33:26] And it was.
[33:27] It was going to be, oh, but we can't even get ahead ourselves, but we will still find a way.
[33:32] But now it's like, okay, well, now we can all get ahead.
[33:35] And, yeah, hopefully also impart some of G's wisdom onto the family too.
[33:39] Yeah, we've been trying, we've been trying.
[33:40] So I've been trying with my younger sister.
[33:44] Yeah.
[33:44] So it's funny, it took a while.
[33:45] She's on board, she had a car, she sold that.
[33:49] The loan was too expensive.
[33:50] And then she came up here because we grew up racing motocross and dirt bikes.
[33:54] So she came up here last weekend to watch the Supercross that was here in Queensland.
[33:58] And then she saw everyone with the black shirts in FiniDig for the Christmas party.
[34:01] And now she wants to get on board.
[34:02] It's like, I've been trying to tell you.
[34:04] This whole time.
[34:05] Yeah.
[34:06] And now you see everyone.
[34:07] She saw the ad.
[34:07] Now she's buying.
[34:09] It's pretty funny.
[34:10] Yeah.
[34:11] So we have been trying with our loved ones.
[34:12] Yeah.
[34:13] Just, yeah.
[34:14] But now we're at the stage where we'll let our actions speak.
[34:17] Yeah.
[34:18] And everything else will follow.
[34:19] Yeah.
[34:20] Yeah.
[34:20] And your desire to not repeat your parents' journey, how heavily did that weigh on decisions you made, especially in the investing space?
[34:28] Yeah.
[34:30] Yeah, it did.
[34:30] So, yeah, I mean, our, my parents' journey in short was, you know, they migrated here from Lebanon and just my dad just always worked.
[34:40] He was working day and night and slogging himself, working so hard.
[34:43] And, you know, I'm so grateful for that.
[34:45] And we would not have been able to get to where we were without him.
[34:48] And I think, you know, in a way I've inherited that drive and that constant need to just work.
[34:53] Um, so, but also it does take a toll and, you know, I always, ever since I was a kid was like, one day I'm going to repay you for all the hard work you've done because he's not getting out of bed every day for anyone, but like us, his children.
[35:07] Um, so that's now I know that I can do that, which is, which is amazing, but I didn't, and you know, getting to this point, I just didn't know how I was like, I know.
[35:16] And I got to a point where I was like,
[35:17] There is no amount of income that's really going to get us ahead.
[35:20] We need to know what we're doing with it.
[35:22] We just didn't know what that was going to be.
[35:23] Well, like you said, you were earning really good income and you're like, where is it all?
[35:27] Yeah.
[35:27] I know where yours was.
[35:29] I know where yours was.
[35:31] But, yeah, so now knowing exactly what to do with it, yeah, has been amazing and, yeah, and now knowing that,
[35:41] anyone who needs help, they're going to be able to help.
[35:43] Exactly.
[35:44] Yeah.
[35:45] And you see your parents as well, mum and dad when they divorced.
[35:48] I didn't know at the time, you know, I was 18, but you're just so stuck in your own world at that age, right?
[35:53] Well, I was.
[35:54] I was just too busy trying to ride bikes and just that was my thing.
[35:57] And then when you're growing up, you hear the stories of how they were struggling and you're like, fuck.
[36:01] That was, yeah, very.
[36:02] Do you think that's what drove that divorce was financial issues?
[36:07] Yeah, definitely, definitely.
[36:08] Definitely, yeah.
[36:08] Yeah.
[36:09] I think that's probably most divorce is financial problems, right?
[36:13] So I was like, I just don't want to get down that path.
[36:15] It's just, it's very toxic and very sad for everyone.
[36:17] Yeah.
[36:18] And our parents shielded us from it too.
[36:20] They did.
[36:20] They did.
[36:21] My parents were the exact same.
[36:22] Never spoke about it.
[36:24] You know, it's really to our detriment because we thought everything was fine for a while until we kind of went, oh, you had to sell the house.
[36:30] Why?
[36:31] We don't understand.
[36:32] And why are you living off credit cards?
[36:34] And like, oh, so credit cards must be fine then.
[36:36] And you're not truly understanding the reason behind why they do it, right?
[36:41] So now with the situation you're in, do you feel like that's going to reshape how you approach money with your kids and the education?
[36:47] Yeah, definitely.
[36:48] And that's, yeah, 100%.
[36:49] I think I'm not alone in saying that money is such a taboo subject in most households.
[36:53] But that's not going to be the case for us.
[36:56] Yeah, we're excited.
[36:56] We're excited to teach them.
[36:57] Yeah, so we already think about, okay, well, how can we talk about money with our children in a way that they will understand?
[37:03] And at the moment with our three-year-old, it's in the form of currency of Kinder Surprise every Saturday when we go to the show.
[37:10] That's a good chocolate choice.
[37:11] Yeah.
[37:12] But there's the normal Kinder Surprise with the toy.
[37:15] Have you seen the fancy Kinder Surprise?
[37:17] No.
[37:17] Where it's got, I don't know, it's like Kinder Bueno in it.
[37:20] Oh, yeah, Kinder Bueno.
[37:21] They're expensive.
[37:22] It's fancy ones, though.
[37:23] Got to work for a little extra pocket money for those.
[37:28] Yeah, so... We are excited to teach them when they get a bit older.
[37:31] The plan is not to shield them.
[37:32] Yeah.
[37:33] And the way, and, you know, just something we need to be mindful of is, you know, we actually have to be a little bit more proactive about...
[37:41] teaching them to be grateful and understand that there is a difference in what they might have to what others might have even if it's the guys next door um so yeah it's about making sure that they are very well aware of their privilege too yeah definitely yeah and how do you think you're going to approach that education obviously age will play a part they're quite young at the moment but as they do grow how do you think you will approach that education
[38:05] Yeah, I mean, as they do grow.
[38:07] Sit him in front of the TV in front of G. Yeah, definitely.
[38:10] We have a sense of G. You can say everything but fuck.
[38:13] Oh, look, we've already crossed that milestone.
[38:18] Even that podcast with the book, Rich Dad, Poor Dad, that's really good as well.
[38:22] It's an excellent book.
[38:23] It wasn't a poor dad.
[38:23] He had studies behind his teacher.
[38:26] But just that's a good example as well.
[38:28] So I'd definitely get him to read that or listen to that as well.
[38:30] Yeah, that's a good one.
[38:31] And definitely all these podcasts too, they do help.
[38:33] Yeah.
[38:34] And then... And the basic things around if they desire something, a gadget or anything, then understanding the...
[38:41] Fancy kinder surprise.
[38:42] Yeah, the kinder bueno as opposed to the surprise.
[38:44] Yeah.
[38:45] It's more about, yeah, teaching them the value of those things.
[38:47] I mean, at the moment they're still young and what we do, which was inspired by G, was just before Christmas...
[38:55] getting rid of all their toys that they're not playing with and teaching them that, okay, we're going to donate these kids, these toys to kids who might not have toys this Christmas.
[39:03] So we have started with that.
[39:04] So that's a good way to start.
[39:06] Yeah.
[39:07] Yeah.
[39:08] As they get older, I'm sure that will change, but hopefully they'll also come aboard.
[39:13] Yeah.
[39:14] Yeah.
[39:15] Well, they're off to a cracking start.
[39:17] We'll say that.
[39:18] What do you think you've learned about each other during this financial transformation?
[39:25] you can listen.
[39:27] He's not so stubborn.
[39:31] Yeah, I think with Michael it's just about plant a seed and wait.
[39:34] Sometimes it means waiting a very long time, but you do come around, which has been really cool.
[39:39] You're not correct.
[39:41] We've always been on board.
[39:42] Yeah, I think we've always pretty much been on the same page.
[39:44] Yeah, same page.
[39:45] But what have you learned about me?
[39:46] I'm curious.
[39:47] Yeah.
[39:49] Like I said, we've always been on the same page when we got married and that's why we fell in love.
[39:53] Yeah.
[39:54] But just I've learnt she can stick to a budget.
[39:57] I know how to stick to a budget.
[40:00] $450 a week one.
[40:01] That's impressive.
[40:03] Not an issue.
[40:05] We haven't had too much of a headache.
[40:06] It's been smooth.
[40:08] We haven't had any sort of clashes about money or fights or anything like that.
[40:12] Nothing's come up.
[40:13] Nothing yet.
[40:15] At any time if we're in doubt about something that somebody's told us, then we can actually come together and talk it through.
[40:22] We talk about money together now.
[40:24] Yeah.
[40:24] I guess we're grounded in that.
[40:25] Before we've had separate accounts.
[40:26] Yeah.
[40:27] Yeah, so we have a joint account obviously and we talk about our spendage
[40:32] So it just, it does, it's brought us closer.
[40:35] Yeah.
[40:35] So strength and things.
[40:36] Yeah.
[40:36] That's awesome.
[40:37] Yeah.
[40:38] Yeah.
[40:38] We do feel very strong as a couple.
[40:39] And the fact that, yeah, we can now come home and be fully present with each other and the kids.
[40:44] Oh, that's a good one.
[40:45] Yeah.
[40:45] Yeah.
[40:45] That's just.
[40:46] That's all we got sick of as well.
[40:47] Just the grind, the mortgage.
[40:49] We just, we weren't there.
[40:50] Yeah.
[40:50] Yeah.
[40:51] And the pressure of work.
[40:52] Well, like you said, you've been able to have that flexibility to choose clients differently and times you'll work or won't work because that financial pressure has really eased.
[41:01] It really has.
[41:02] The last few weeks I've started to sort of kick back on some jobs.
[41:05] I'm like, I don't need this.
[41:07] I don't need it.
[41:08] Like I was doing some scary two story ruse, which I shouldn't be doing.
[41:11] Yeah.
[41:11] And now I'm just like, nah, I've had a close call on one of them.
[41:14] and i'm like well that's scary scary did you tell me that one yeah remember when it rained oh yeah i was on this two-story roof colorblind roof and i was doing this bird job there's a blue sky dark cloud just came over and rained and this tin roof colorblind roof i just slid and i was like oh and so i put my foot in the gutter because and lucky because gutters aren't held up by much yeah so and then he had the screws on the roof my fingers were just embedded into these screws foot was in the gutter
[41:41] And I was on the other side of the roof.
[41:42] I had to crawl across.
[41:44] It was, my heart was pounding.
[41:46] And I got off and I was like, wow.
[41:48] What were your thoughts in that moment, right?
[41:50] Like if you had fallen off that roof and couldn't work or something worse had happened.
[41:56] And you've still got a mortgage and a family.
[41:58] Yeah, when you work for yourself, you just laugh it off for the next job.
[42:00] Yeah.
[42:01] So it was sad.
[42:02] And that's what the pressure will do to you.
[42:04] That's the pressure.
[42:05] Yeah.
[42:05] That's, yeah.
[42:06] But, yeah, I still think about that job.
[42:08] I'm like, fuck, that just gives me goosebumps.
[42:10] That's such a close call.
[42:12] Yeah.
[42:12] And you do hear that.
[42:13] Now you don't even need to worry.
[42:14] Now when people say I've got a two-story roof, sorry, mate.
[42:17] So you'll look at it and go, nah.
[42:18] Nah, don't do it.
[42:18] I'm not doing it.
[42:19] Can't do it.
[42:19] Not worth it.
[42:20] Not worth it.
[42:20] Yeah.
[42:20] No.
[42:21] So, but that's when you're in that position where you need every dollar, you need to take every job.
[42:25] That's what we were in a year ago.
[42:26] Now we're not.
[42:28] Yeah.
[42:28] It's like all because of you guys and just restructure everything.
[42:31] Nothing's changed.
[42:32] Wages haven't increased.
[42:34] And that's what I thought before as well, where I have to make more money.
[42:37] It's all about making more money to get ahead in life.
[42:39] No, it's not.
[42:40] I've learned it's not.
[42:41] It's where you place your money.
[42:42] It's how you structure it.
[42:44] Yeah.
[42:44] Give yourself an uppercut.
[42:46] when you buy a lot of toys with your money.
[42:48] That's right.
[42:49] So with that financial pressure easing now, what does the next five years look like?
[42:54] Well, that's what we spoke about.
[42:56] And that's what I probably had a laugh the other week.
[42:57] I was like, you know what?
[42:59] We've never been around anyone in this position with a low mortgage or no mortgage with a high income still.
[43:04] I was like, Violet, I bet you're probably gonna work twice as hard, no stress will be there.
[43:08] I'm just gonna probably smash it for the next few years.
[43:09] You'll still work.
[43:11] You'll probably never slow down, but like I said, you've got the flexibility and freedom to make choices.
[43:16] We do think about it, but we do want to slow down from work.
[43:19] We know we can't completely stop.
[43:21] We're still young.
[43:21] I didn't see myself stopping.
[43:25] We haven't really thought about that too much yet.
[43:29] I think the plan is invest.
[43:32] Just keep investing if we're allowed.
[43:35] Yeah.
[43:36] We'll be making that happen.
[43:37] You do that the rest of the mortgage in one year, it's happening.
[43:40] Yeah, yeah.
[43:40] I think just invest as much as we can because that's really how we're going to keep making money.
[43:46] Yeah, build wealth.
[43:47] So we are hooked on investments now because the numbers, when you crunch the numbers and you're like, you know, the average increase is 6.8% over the last 38 years, what G says.
[43:56] So it's like, you know, it's 68 grand on a million dollar property.
[43:59] It's like...
[44:00] fuck, these numbers don't lie.
[44:01] And that data's cool to see in the mask us, isn't it?
[44:03] Yeah.
[44:04] Obviously, we have interactions with Doc Wilson consistently.
[44:07] So we're now getting the 2025 data and it's like almost 10%.
[44:11] Yeah.
[44:12] And so now we're coming up to the 30, I think we're at 39 years of that data being recorded.
[44:16] Wow.
[44:17] we're still sitting at very, very good looking Australian property market.
[44:20] Yeah.
[44:20] Yeah.
[44:21] Yeah.
[44:21] And it's almost, it's looking like it's harder, it's getting harder and harder to get in.
[44:26] So it does feel like such a privilege that we're in now.
[44:29] And so that's why we just want to be able to maximise on that as much as we can.
[44:32] We'd really love to actually work towards using, shifting towards a self-managed super fund as well.
[44:39] Okay.
[44:39] So that's the next goal as well.
[44:40] So we'll help with boosting the super up, which a lot of self-employed people tend to neglect.
[44:46] because they just go, oh, we don't have to pay that expense.
[44:49] So that's something we're very big on is helping our self-employed clients change that mindset.
[44:54] Correct.
[44:55] Correct.
[44:55] Yeah.
[44:55] No, definitely it's there, but yeah, we'll pay the mortgage off first and then we'll definitely do super next.
[45:00] Yeah.
[45:00] Yeah.
[45:01] That's, I think that's our goal, but yeah, super, definitely next.
[45:03] Awesome.
[45:04] And let's talk lifestyle as well, because that's also really important.
[45:07] If we do become debt free.
[45:09] We could probably start to have maybe a toy or two because we've earned it.
[45:13] Yeah.
[45:14] I'm putting it out there.
[45:15] But what are some lifestyle choices that you are most excited about now that we have so much financial pressure off of us?
[45:23] I think, and this is something we spoke about recently, is maybe moving, maybe building if we don't find a house that we like, just to sort of build our official dream home.
[45:34] Okay, so we want to buy the dream home.
[45:35] And that's not something we ever really thought about wanting to do until recently where we were like, we could actually do it.
[45:43] Yeah, we could afford to build now, buy a block of land and build.
[45:46] So we believe it's possible now.
[45:47] Yeah, yeah.
[45:48] And we've always had a dream since before we got married of having our kids and doing a loop around Australia in a caravan or whether or not we choose not to do the caravan and just take them around Australia for, you know, get them to know the culture out there.
[46:04] It's opened up a lot of possibilities doing this, going down this pathway.
[46:07] So that's what I even said.
[46:08] I said, yeah, we'll take the caravan.
[46:10] Now we can actually dream.
[46:10] She wants to take the caravan a lot.
[46:12] Me, yes, I do all the packing up, setting up, driving, reversing.
[46:15] I do everything.
[46:16] Now, because I do the kids while you do that.
[46:19] So it's a lot of work too, doing caravanning.
[46:21] It's a lot of work.
[46:21] Yes.
[46:22] Yeah.
[46:22] But we're starting to see visions coming off the vision board.
[46:25] Yeah.
[46:25] And then, you know, before when we were planning a loop around Australia, we were like, well, we still have to work to be able to, you know, pay off this and manage our expenses.
[46:33] Well, who's going to pay the four grand per month mortgage?
[46:35] Yeah.
[46:36] Yeah.
[46:36] So now...
[46:37] We're like, well, actually, we can pay off the mortgage and not even have to worry about making an income while we're on the road.
[46:43] So it's, yeah, doing that and being fully present while we're there would be amazing.
[46:48] And now initially it was just, oh, we can't take more than three months off.
[46:51] But now it's like, dude, we might even take a year off.
[46:53] We can do pest control all around Australia.
[46:55] Yeah.
[46:56] That's true.
[46:56] You're going to get comfortable with snakes.
[46:58] Yeah.
[47:00] Exactly.
[47:00] So, you know, it's opened up a lot of pathways.
[47:02] So, we don't know.
[47:04] We were just dreaming.
[47:05] Yeah, dreaming, yeah.
[47:06] Smashed the mortgage off completely.
[47:07] And then, yeah, then we want to take the kids to the SeaWorld.
[47:11] We're not big on overseas trips just yet.
[47:12] Yeah.
[47:13] The kids are young.
[47:14] So maybe when they're a bit older.
[47:16] Yeah.
[47:16] So once the mortgage is done, we said we'll take them to SeaWorld, MovieWorld and WaterWorld and all that just for a week and just celebrate that way, which is, yeah, that's our big holiday soon coming up and hopefully another year.
[47:27] And then just celebrate with the kids.
[47:28] They won't know what's going on.
[47:29] They'll just be looking at toys.
[47:30] Yeah.
[47:31] But then we can.
[47:31] Going on rides.
[47:32] Yeah, we'll spoil them there because we can, I guess, in that position, we'll spoil them a bit.
[47:36] Yeah.
[47:37] And then, yeah, that's it.
[47:38] Yeah.
[47:39] Yeah.
[47:40] It'd be nice.
[47:40] Yeah.
[47:41] We'd absolutely be guided by you guys.
[47:43] Yep.
[47:44] Awesome.
[47:44] Awesome.
[47:45] What's something that you laugh about now that would have absolutely stressed you out in the past?
[47:50] Yeah.
[47:51] laughed about now that was stressed maybe the fact you're actually meal prep yeah yes actually yeah exactly like now like i am i take my lunches to work yes two years ago when we're sitting on zero i looked i spent about 18 grand a year on my lunches
[48:08] Just by buying out.
[48:09] $18,000.
[48:09] It wasn't zero.
[48:10] So I don't.
[48:11] He wasn't even buying anything special.
[48:13] Like we're talking 7-Eleven.
[48:15] Like I don't buy coffees out.
[48:17] I never got into coffees out.
[48:19] So you took the time to actually itemize all of that and it came to $18,000.
[48:22] $18,000.
[48:23] It's about two years ago.
[48:24] Yeah, so that's actually laughable.
[48:26] That is laughable.
[48:28] Because people just are like, oh, it's only 20 bucks.
[48:30] That's right.
[48:31] And I've earned this much today.
[48:34] It's like...
[48:34] I deserve it.
[48:35] It's like not even...
[48:35] I'm making this much.
[48:36] I deserve it.
[48:37] It's only 20 bucks out of a big cut.
[48:38] Nothing.
[48:39] But then we sat down like, whoa.
[48:41] And now we're on 450 a week.
[48:43] That's about 18 grand a year anyway.
[48:45] So it's like...
[48:46] But that's like a few things combined, right?
[48:48] Like it's not just... That's not just his work lunch.
[48:51] Yeah.
[48:51] It's everything.
[48:52] It's everything that you fit into your food feel fine.
[48:54] Yeah.
[48:54] You feel covered by the business, but yeah.
[48:56] Yeah.
[48:57] Correct.
[48:57] So it's amazing.
[48:58] It's all...
[48:58] It's just... Yeah, that's laughable.
[49:00] Now I cringe when I don't...
[49:02] If I forget my lunch with the kids who are sort of busy at night and I make it in the morning, I'm like, I just...
[49:06] I can't believe I just can't take my own.
[49:08] Yeah, I just can't believe it.
[49:09] And now he will not.
[49:10] Yeah, he will not dare to.
[49:12] Even sometimes we'll go out and we're hungry.
[49:13] He'll be like, I'm not eating yet.
[49:16] Just on principle.
[49:17] It used to be the normal to eat at all the time.
[49:20] Yeah, when we're out, I'll just wait till I get home.
[49:23] Yeah.
[49:23] Yeah, it's completely back flipped.
[49:25] Yeah.
[49:26] It's amazing.
[49:27] It's good a mindset to have and habits to have because do you think you'll continue those even when the home loans fade off?
[49:33] Yeah.
[49:34] There's no looking back now.
[49:36] Yeah.
[49:36] Just the amount of money you're wasting on your shit.
[49:38] It just makes so much more sense.
[49:39] It's a waste.
[49:40] Yeah.
[49:40] Because food is just food and it always tastes better at home.
[49:43] I don't know.
[49:44] Yeah.
[49:44] And now, so we eat out probably once a month because we've got young kids.
[49:48] But now when we eat out once a month, like just like a normal standard place, we respect it and we take it in so much more.
[49:55] Yeah.
[49:55] Yeah.
[49:56] We just enjoy it because it's like, okay, this is a meal we didn't have to prepare.
[49:58] You appreciate the experience.
[49:59] We appreciate it.
[49:59] Yeah.
[49:59] Yeah.
[50:00] rather than before we're like, oh cool, another place, another place but now it's like, this is big to us.
[50:03] Yeah.
[50:04] Yeah, so, and now we get very picky we're like, oh I don't want to waste my money on this shop, I don't want to waste my money, we've got to find a good one.
[50:09] Yeah, if those calories aren't worth it, I'm not spending the money on it.
[50:12] Yeah, exactly.
[50:13] That's our mindset of the budget account.
[50:16] Like, it's,
[50:16] You just find ways to get creative but not even, like you're not missing out.
[50:22] Yeah.
[50:23] Nothing's changed.
[50:23] And when people say budget, like even Jay always explains, it's not two-minute noodles even though I love those things.
[50:29] It's not a dirty word.
[50:30] Yeah.
[50:30] It's not.
[50:31] It's really not.
[50:32] It's just watching where your money goes.
[50:34] So it's just, yeah.
[50:36] Money just went on shit.
[50:37] And I was always at those camping shops, those outdoor shops, just buying random shit, bringing them home all the time.
[50:44] So my garage is still full of camping stuff and it's just, it's all crap.
[50:47] It's just sits there.
[50:49] So it's just, yeah.
[50:50] And that is, it's amazing.
[50:51] So waste money on shit.
[50:52] Yeah.
[50:53] And what would you say to a couple that maybe is sitting here going, we feel stuck, we feel lost.
[50:58] Yeah.
[50:59] And like I am, we went to the September REM for the first time and we had a couple we're talking to and they had a land cruiser.
[51:06] I think most people have land cruisers.
[51:08] A lot of them in the mines here.
[51:09] Yeah.
[51:10] And they're like, oh, but we can do it without it.
[51:11] I'm like, yeah, I can do it without my chef too, but give yourself an uppercut.
[51:14] Just get rid of it.
[51:16] Just get rid of it.
[51:17] Just start.
[51:18] Just get rid of it.
[51:19] It's a burden on you.
[51:20] Just get rid of it, mate.
[51:22] So, yeah.
[51:23] I think, yeah, that's the advice that I would give to someone who is stuck is just start somewhere.
[51:28] And you may not fully understand everything right now, but over time have a bit of patience and you'll start to see the math math.
[51:36] and yeah, it will be very clean.
[51:39] You'll be very validated with the decision but just come and find infinity and yeah.
[51:44] And let go of your ego.
[51:45] Just let it all go, mate, and start again.
[51:47] That's what we've done.
[51:48] Yeah, because literally freedom awaits you because it is, it feels like freedom.
[51:52] Yeah.
[51:52] It's amazing.
[51:53] It's just, yeah, we've never been around someone in this position like so young with us, all our friends all just massive mortgages still, stressed, all renting and it's like, fuck, we're about to just party forever now.
[52:04] Yeah.
[52:05] Exactly.
[52:05] Become alcoholics.
[52:09] I'll get you on 75.5.
[52:10] 60 strong.
[52:12] And you did mention the real estate mastery that you attended.
[52:15] What did that event do for you?
[52:16] Yeah, that was amazing.
[52:17] That was just, it was just, even like when G was showing where he started to where he's now, it's like, wow, that's, it's just, it gave you drive.
[52:24] Yeah, a little bit more of an understanding about, yeah, real estate and how you can make it work for you.
[52:31] Self-managed super funds and how you can make it work for you with the keyword being leverage.
[52:36] Yeah.
[52:37] And, you know, some up and coming funds, which are really exciting.
[52:41] And also we really loved the motivational speaking.
[52:44] I think overall, yeah, the real big message was focusing on what your purpose is and staying true to that.
[52:52] And you won't get lost in it all because money is just money at the end of the day.
[52:55] It's what you do it for.
[52:57] And that's really that's again comes down to our values.
[52:59] Correct.
[53:01] Yeah.
[53:01] So that was that was really cool.
[53:02] Like G even explained, like, you know, money can be easily made, which it can in business as well and is shown in real estate, and it can be easily lost too, which we've seen so many people lose a lot of money.
[53:12] So, yeah, just it was amazing to learn.
[53:14] And then just the mentorship of it all.
[53:15] Just we've never had someone sort of mentor us or give us a good speech about, yeah, just, yeah.
[53:22] It was pretty cool.
[53:22] Motivational.
[53:23] Motivational.
[53:23] Yeah, it was amazing.
[53:25] And then talking to other people in the community too in the same situation.
[53:27] Yeah.
[53:28] Because even when we had chats to other people, when they, it was their first room as well, they secured two properties.
[53:35] And we were so excited for them.
[53:36] Like, oh, did you tell your parents?
[53:37] And they're like, no, I'm not going to tell them.
[53:39] I was like, ah, just they don't get it.
[53:41] It's hard.
[53:41] You know, within our community, we can all celebrate each other and the achievements we've made.
[53:46] And it is kind of sad but understandable that some other people's families or their close ones who they tell everything to is they kind of have to keep that boundary.
[53:56] It's a great community.
[53:57] Even the Facebook page.
[53:57] The Facebook page is awesome too.
[53:59] Well, how pivotal has the community feel or sense been for your journey?
[54:04] It's been because I work for myself and I'm always on that Facebook page and podcast a day and it just feels like you're not alone.
[54:09] Yeah.
[54:10] I love the podcast.
[54:10] You just – and then you're waiting for the next one.
[54:12] You're like, hurry up because I'm getting bored.
[54:13] I'm working for myself.
[54:14] Now you're going to wait for yours.
[54:16] Give us some more.
[54:16] Give me some more.
[54:17] Yeah, but Michael comes home every night and he tells me about the different community members that he's heard and their stories and where they came from and we're always taking ideas from everyone.
[54:26] So that's a community that really share.
[54:29] And like, yeah, even just lately on the Facebook page, it's been about how do you source your food sustainably, which is really cool.
[54:37] And within a budget because all of these things really matter to us.
[54:40] So being able to do that through the community.
[54:43] It definitely helps.
[54:45] The community and you guys, we wouldn't be in the position we were in.
[54:48] Yeah.
[54:48] We probably would have given up, I'd probably say.
[54:51] Yeah.
[54:51] So it helps keep you motivated.
[54:52] It does.
[54:52] It does.
[54:53] No, it definitely does because everyone gets sidetracked.
[54:55] Yeah.
[54:56] So no, definitely the community is a big part too.
[54:58] Yeah.
[54:58] Which is awesome.
[55:00] And the amount of stuff you guys do and give back a lot and, you know, the Christmas charity you guys just did.
[55:07] Yeah, that was awesome.
[55:08] That's amazing.
[55:09] You know, that just gives you goosebumps.
[55:11] Yeah.
[55:11] Like, you're far out.
[55:12] That was one community raised $1,000,000, $1,000,000.
[55:15] Like, that's just –
[55:17] crazy.
[55:18] I reckon that's cool than any other business success.
[55:20] That's awesome.
[55:21] That's amazing.
[55:22] You can really see that G chose his community as well.
[55:25] Like you choose a certain type of person to be part of it.
[55:28] And yeah, you can see that in the way that everyone was able to give.
[55:31] Yeah.
[55:31] Yeah.
[55:32] So lovely.
[55:33] That's nice.
[55:33] That's nice.
[55:34] Yeah.
[55:34] That's amazing guys.
[55:35] Thank you so much for sharing your story and being so candid with us.
[55:39] Before we wrap up, do you have any questions for me?
[55:41] Yeah.
[55:42] Do you want to go?
[55:43] Yeah, you first.
[55:44] Well, firstly, we wanted to know, because it's your first time here hosting the podcast, and we want to know a little bit about your story and what brought you here too.
[55:52] Oh, that is a very common question.
[55:53] It's a very nice question, but yes, I'll give you the spiel.
[55:56] So I don't have any finance background at all.
[55:59] I've been in the game now for nine years or just over nine years.
[56:02] But when I first met Beck and Graham and Infinity, I was actually coming as a client.
[56:07] So my husband and I had first started dating.
[56:09] I kind of looked at him and I was like,
[56:11] I think we're going to be together for a while, so let's just do this.
[56:14] Let's just go figure out our finances together.
[56:16] And we were lucky enough to meet Beck and Graham through a mutual friend.
[56:20] And we were living in Sydney at the time.
[56:22] And we had about $55,000 of consumer debt, no property at all.
[56:27] And we went, we've got to figure something out.
[56:30] we're getting nowhere with all of this.
[56:32] So we sat with him, worked with him for about nine months.
[56:34] He got nothing out of it, working with us one on one, an hour every week for nine months, but completely got us debt free in that time, which was incredible to do at that time.
[56:44] And just through that, we built a relationship and he kind of was like, you need to come and work for me.
[56:49] Like you just seem to get this, what we're doing.
[56:51] There's just something in you.
[56:52] And he's always said, we hire
[56:55] for attitude, not the skill set.
[56:57] And we teach the skill set and he's not wrong because I'm a true testament to that.
[57:02] So I worked for him about two and a half years as I started as a relationship manager, then moved into finance strategist support role.
[57:08] And I said to G, I want to be you one day.
[57:11] So whatever that path looks like, put me on it.
[57:13] Oh, here we go.
[57:14] Yeah.
[57:15] And he was like, all right, all right, settle down, you know.
[57:17] And I was like, oh.
[57:18] I've got big goals now that I know and understand all of this.
[57:22] So, but then unfortunately I had to leave the business because of some office changes and just personal circumstances, which sucked, but I stayed in the industry kind of watching from afar, went to a nice little brokerage and still kept trying to hone my skills and, and whatnot.
[57:38] And, but I had so much FOMO, watching infinity from the sidelines and watching them grow.
[57:43] And then I moved to the Gold Coast and they had moved to the Gold Coast as in Infinity's headquarters about a year before I did.
[57:49] Yeah.
[57:50] So as soon as Beck and G found out I'd moved up, they're like, you're coming back.
[57:54] Yeah.
[57:54] And it was the easiest decision I made because, you know, everything's put in your path for a reason.
[58:00] And I really, really believe that.
[58:01] And I went straight into a finance strategist role and.
[58:04] It's been a crazy three years because I then moved up into a team leader role for the Queensland finance strategist.
[58:10] And now look at me.
[58:12] I'm in this seat and it's hosting podcasts and Doc Wilson weekly and masterclasses.
[58:18] So I'm so blessed and so grateful for the opportunity.
[58:21] And the more I do this, I get to then help more families.
[58:25] I'm very big on helping families so they can help their kids because my parents never had that.
[58:29] So if we can break cycles, that's something I'm really passionate about.
[58:33] So the fact that
[58:35] Beck and G are putting me in this position.
[58:36] I'm so blessed.
[58:37] Well done.
[58:38] Congratulations.
[58:39] Thank you.
[58:40] That's so cool.
[58:41] That's beautiful.
[58:42] What was the second one?
[58:44] Do you want to ask your one?
[58:45] Yeah, you remember it.
[58:47] Well, I guess, you know, in keeping with the spirit of infinity where we're so rooted in like our values of giving, we were wondering what would happen, just say, you know, we know everyone sort of bands around the community if one of our community members became so unwell that they can't.
[59:08] you know, continue on their trajectory, whichever, whatever that would be.
[59:12] Like, I wonder if there's been a plan around what will happen there.
[59:15] Yeah.
[59:17] So do you mean if someone got someone well, they can't.
[59:20] Yeah.
[59:20] Yeah.
[59:21] You know, like if a client gets sick or dies and then they're left with a big mortgage, the other half is, and, you know, the community is so strong, would you get together and do like a fundraiser for their mortgage?
[59:34] Yeah, I mean, there's so many times things like that have happened and I know Beck and Jay are so quick to dip into their own pockets for things like that, which is just incredible.
[59:42] They do so much behind the scenes, and I hope I don't get in trouble for mentioning it, that people have no idea the help that they've given to families that –
[59:50] You know, there's been unfortunately suicides or there's been cancer and, you know, a dad's passed away, you know.
[59:58] But that's also what's so important about starting this journey.
[1:00:00] So if we hope, knock on wood, things like that happen, the family's still going to be okay.
[1:00:05] And setting things up properly with, you know, personal insurances.
[1:00:08] Yes, yes.
[1:00:09] The whole journey centers around making sure we're prepared if those moments do happen.
[1:00:13] But if there's ever a time where something like that happens and somebody's still sitting on a $500,000 mortgage, you know, of course we bend, you know, around that person to figure out how do we help them?
[1:00:23] How do we get them out of it?
[1:00:24] You know, and if there's ever properties that somebody's purchased off the plan and they've fallen ill and can't work and they just don't have the serviceability for it, Graham goes, it's fine.
[1:00:34] I've got it.
[1:00:34] I'll figure it out.
[1:00:35] Like I will not put you in a bad financial position.
[1:00:38] Yeah.
[1:00:38] He seems to really put himself out there and on the line so much.
[1:00:41] Yeah.
[1:00:42] No, he really does.
[1:00:43] That's amazing.
[1:00:43] Yeah.
[1:00:44] Yeah.
[1:00:44] Beautiful.
[1:00:46] Yeah.
[1:00:46] Good question though.
[1:00:47] Yeah.
[1:00:48] No, that's all we got.
[1:00:49] Yeah.
[1:00:49] Awesome.
[1:00:50] Well, amazing.
[1:00:51] Thank you so much, guys.
[1:00:52] I appreciate you being part of my first couple of podcasts.
[1:00:54] Yeah.
[1:00:55] Thank you for having us.
[1:00:55] Thank you.
[1:00:56] No worries.
[1:00:56] Thank you very much.
[1:00:57] You're fucking gone.
[1:00:58] See ya.
