In this episode of the Money Mentor, Jarryd & Katelyn share how they went from feeling comfortable but unstructured to becoming intentional and strategic with their money after joining Infinity. With a $740,000 mortgage and savings but no real budget, they didn’t realise how much progress they could make until they adopted a disciplined financial plan. Within a short period, they reduced their mortgage to $620,000 while keeping their lifestyle intact. Guided by a clear strategy and consistent budgeting, they also expanded into four investment properties as part of their long-term vision for security and legacy. They highlight the mindset shifts required when stepping into bigger financial decisions, especially when investing at scale for the first time. Through Infinity’s community, events like REM, and the support of like minded families, they found the confidence and structure they needed. Their journey shows how expert guidance, disciplined planning, and community accountability can reshape a family’s entire financial trajectory. 👉 Follow the link https://bit.ly/43V2jKN to watch the free webinar and start your Infinity journey now!

[0:00] Anyone who's not been through any struggle at all in life, they get one little speed bump and they fall apart.
[0:05] The more struggle you have, the more shit you go through, the better, bigger, stronger you become.
[0:09] Yeah, it builds you as a person.
[0:11] And time is a big thing, just letting it, you know, pass by.
[0:15] Yeah, but I think it's okay to have those speed bumps along the way.
[0:20] You don't want them to be horrific, like for your kids and your friends and for anyone.
[0:24] But you've got to, like, fail and fail forwards and fast, but pick yourself up and off you go.
[0:29] Money is the root of all evil, the fucking lack of it is.
[0:32] Not money, the lack of understanding money.
[0:35] When I put that into emphasis, when I realized that psychological effect and how it hit our family, I FDB all the fucking way.
[0:41] You are now watching the Money Mentor Podcast with Graeme Holm.
[0:45] Graeme Holm.
[0:45] Graeme Holm.
[0:46] Graeme Holm.
[0:49] You're fucking gone.
[0:50] See ya.
[0:51] Welcome back to another episode of the Money Mentor and the Changing Lives Financially series.
[0:55] And we've got two very special guests today.
[0:57] Hello, Jared and Kalen.
[0:59] How are we?
[1:00] Good, how are you?
[1:01] I'm good, are you nervous?
[1:03] Yeah.
[1:03] You're sweating in weird places.
[1:05] I'm sweating more than a gypsy with a mortgage, all on my back and everything, it's crazy.
[1:10] But I'm excited.
[1:12] Excited?
[1:13] Yeah.
[1:13] Now, just to very firstly, before I even ask about who you guys are in the background, we have a new addition by the looks of things.
[1:22] Yes, we've got a REM baby.
[1:25] Congratulations.
[1:27] Thank you.
[1:28] So explain a REM baby, what's that?
[1:30] Well, I don't know.
[1:31] We were just at a weekend away and things just led to another.
[1:35] We felt relaxed.
[1:36] One thing led to another.
[1:37] Yeah.
[1:37] There you go.
[1:38] I have that effect on people.
[1:40] Yeah.
[1:40] Put my undies on the bed and next thing you know, it's... Hey!
[1:44] Love it, I love it.
[1:46] We'll give everyone, congratulations.
[1:48] Thank you, thank you.
[1:49] Glad you have played some weird insignificant part, hopefully.
[1:52] But give everyone a bit of background of who you guys are, where you're from, just who you are as a family.
[1:59] I'm Jared, and this is my wife, Caitlin.
[2:02] We've got a lovely daughter, Addison, she's 17 months old.
[2:07] Rem baby on the way, which is nice.
[2:10] I'm a civil engineer, and then Caitlin is a,
[2:14] I'm a train driver.
[2:15] I think that's so cool.
[2:16] Yeah.
[2:17] I drive freight trains though.
[2:18] Yeah.
[2:19] Yeah.
[2:19] Like long haul.
[2:20] Yeah.
[2:20] Okay.
[2:20] Yeah.
[2:21] But the first one in Brisbane as well, by the way.
[2:24] Yeah.
[2:24] For your company.
[2:25] Yeah.
[2:26] First official female.
[2:28] First lady trainee.
[2:30] Yeah.
[2:30] Lady trainee.
[2:31] Okay.
[2:32] When did you start that?
[2:34] It's been five years.
[2:36] Yeah, probably five.
[2:36] How did you get into driving trains?
[2:39] I was studying to be a nurse and unfortunately had a bit of a bad experience.
[2:46] And I moved back to my hometown and just fell into it basically.
[2:53] something bad turning to something good yeah yeah i think it's like yeah we've actually got clients that do long haul trains so matt and nick and a few guys all parts of australia so when i hear that i'm like that's kind of cool yeah yeah different yeah yeah i love it very cool okay um okay so engineer trains okay what else is going on for you guys
[3:18] um we joined early or end of february so start of march pretty much pretty fresh okay yeah so pretty fresh we'll go back go pre-infinity yeah so do we have a home do we have a mortgage car loans tell us what was going on for you guys like before you joined infinity
[3:35] Yeah, we have a PPR in Brisbane.
[3:38] So we're based in Brizzy.
[3:41] Had some good super, had a super amount collected together.
[3:45] We had some savings, but as you know, it's not savings when you've got a mortgage.
[3:48] So that was in about seven other accounts as well.
[3:52] So that was obviously hard to track.
[3:54] Yeah.
[3:56] Didn't really have a budget, didn't stick to anything, but we said we did, but you never did.
[4:01] Okay.
[4:02] And that was, that's about it.
[4:04] Yeah, we're pretty standard, not much exciting, but doing okay, like living comfortably, not struggling or anything like that, but not.
[4:13] So comfortably?
[4:14] Yeah.
[4:15] Okay.
[4:16] Who found Infinity and when?
[4:20] So we'll, looking.
[4:23] There's a story to this, this is a both smirk.
[4:26] We're looking at like investing, like buying a property.
[4:31] We got pre-approved for an amount to go and buy a property.
[4:35] But I said to Dara, I was like, we need to find a professional to help us.
[4:40] And we're looking around and.
[4:43] Yeah, I'm a mad spreadsheeter, so a bit of a freak in the sheets as they say for when you work in Excel.
[4:50] The Excel, well, actually, all the sheets.
[4:53] Exactly, yeah.
[4:56] As much as Caitlin hates that, but yes.
[4:59] Apparently not.
[5:01] But I had forecasted out, say, what we wanted as a family, what our expenses were, everything to pretty much the... Got the I's, crossed the T's, everything was in the spreadsheet.
[5:11] Exactly.
[5:11] And then looking at, okay, what could we comfortably afford that we're not going to be, I guess, struggling or not swimming above water.
[5:18] And then you got the pre-approval.
[5:19] Yes.
[5:20] And you're like, no, we've got to talk to, like, we could do this really well, we could really fuck this up.
[5:24] Yeah, yeah.
[5:25] We didn't know where to look.
[5:26] We were looking, as you say, don't shit where you eat.
[5:28] So we were looking around where we were and trying to find- That's the easy thing, right?
[5:31] Because you know everything about it and you like it because you live there.
[5:33] Yeah, and you like it.
[5:34] You like the area and stuff like that.
[5:36] So we're trying to find things like that that were kind of maybe at a price range we weren't to for sure.
[5:41] Yep.
[5:42] And yeah, I was just starting to stress.
[5:45] Okay.
[5:45] Stress hard.
[5:46] So Caitlin said we need to find someone.
[5:48] I found someone on socials.
[5:50] It was you.
[5:51] Okay.
[5:51] And then... And Caleb's like, I didn't mean some idiot on social media.
[5:57] I meant a professional.
[5:58] Yeah, that's right.
[5:59] And like, oh shit, okay.
[6:03] And then so we're looking around, we'd done the wrong foot investor, like looked into that and done a bit of reading.
[6:11] My dad told me to look at Rich Dad, Poor Dad, which is good.
[6:14] So we read that together.
[6:15] And then it was time crunch time.
[6:19] Yeah, he said, how about we look at this guy?
[6:21] So I was, I guess you could say the skeptic at the start.
[6:24] Right.
[6:24] Where we were looking and I thought, oh, okay.
[6:27] And I just pushed it on and pushed it on.
[6:28] And I'm like, no, we need to do this.
[6:30] I think I really like this guy and I think we need to do it.
[6:34] Yeah.
[6:34] So then we did the... That was early 25, right?
[6:37] Early this year's Feb, June, July, January, Feb.
[6:41] November last year, actually.
[6:42] Yeah, so it was about before October, so September 24.
[6:48] Yep, free webinar.
[6:49] No, that was just going back and forth.
[6:51] Podcasts, socials, yeah.
[6:52] Yeah, and then October we watched your Both Sides podcast.
[6:57] And that was the one that really resonated with.
[6:59] Definitely me, I think.
[7:01] Yeah, definitely for me too.
[7:02] A bit of a spoiler alert, we're filming another three or four episodes this month.
[7:06] Oh, awesome.
[7:07] Yeah.
[7:07] They're coming up for the, because that was 2023.
[7:10] Yeah.
[7:10] Really?
[7:10] Wow.
[7:11] December 23, because that was our first big Christmas party.
[7:14] Yeah.
[7:14] And we did like a big like Dalton House, Black Tide, Not Me At All thing.
[7:19] And then the next day I gave everyone tickets to go to Richard Branson because I was speaking.
[7:23] And so we did a big Christmas party charity thing in Sydney on the harbour, at Dalton House, Richard Branson the next day.
[7:30] And so it was literally we were filming like just a few days before, or after that, sorry, I had a big masterclass.
[7:36] So we filmed it in an office in Sydney, then had all those events, then filmed the rest of it when I had a masterclass there off the back of it.
[7:43] So we knocked all of those out in like two days or something.
[7:46] Wow.
[7:47] That's crazy.
[7:48] It was so much.
[7:49] It's like six or eight hours, but it was just fire.
[7:52] Like it's still going viral.
[7:54] Yeah.
[7:54] 2023.
[7:55] Yeah.
[7:56] So the boys are like, on all of their podcasts, apparently they're like, like number one, two, three and four.
[8:01] It's like up here, like the bar's like off the screen.
[8:04] Yeah.
[8:04] And it's like 10 times beyond any podcast they're done.
[8:07] And I think it was just because...
[8:09] they were genuinely learning some things as well.
[8:11] They're smart dudes, but they were like, what, wow, I didn't know that.
[8:14] And then I'm like, have you got a budget?
[8:17] It was just quite raw and real.
[8:19] And so it just went on a journey of everything we do for everyone and we've done.
[8:22] And it just, I don't know, it just popped.
[8:24] So I was on holidays and I came home.
[8:26] Beck and I were in the pool in Thailand and it just went mental on like boxing day or something.
[8:30] And we're like, let's just go home.
[8:32] Cause socials just blew up.
[8:34] I'm not surprised.
[8:36] Yeah.
[8:36] It was like thousands of people wanted to sign up for Masterclass and everyone, the staff were off and were like, we'll just deal with it as the owners and it just went mental.
[8:45] Yeah.
[8:46] So from that December 24, like December 23 through January 24, it was just insane.
[8:52] It was a big year.
[8:54] But it was cool.
[8:54] It was a fun potty.
[8:55] Yeah, we loved it.
[8:56] It was about an hour and a half and just sort of glued to the TV.
[8:59] We were watching and it was...
[9:01] Yeah, it was a lot resonated with us when we went there.
[9:04] That was when the light bulb of shit moment.
[9:06] Sort of went, okay, we need to do this.
[9:07] So then that was October, and then we signed up and did the webinar in November 24.
[9:13] And yeah, that was awesome.
[9:15] That was cool.
[9:16] And then was it January we did the masterclass?
[9:18] Yeah.
[9:18] Yeah.
[9:19] And then after that, it was Jen, which was good.
[9:22] Masterclass Jen.
[9:23] And then when did you do REM?
[9:25] We did REM in May.
[9:26] Yeah.
[9:27] Oh, okay.
[9:27] So it was, yeah.
[9:28] February March.
[9:29] Oh, Louis sort of, yeah.
[9:30] He's not in trouble on this one.
[9:32] Oh, I thought he was.
[9:33] No, because you've got to do three months.
[9:35] So Jen, February March, April, May.
[9:38] Yeah, you're okay.
[9:39] We did, yeah.
[9:41] Well, we did have a holiday booked already to go to Japan in early Feb.
[9:45] Right.
[9:46] And after we did the master class, you said, wait 20, oh, it was like 28 days until we'll be in touch.
[9:51] Yeah.
[9:51] That time had lapsed and I'd sort of gone, oh, we hadn't heard anything.
[9:55] Maybe we're not going to get accepted.
[9:58] And I was pretty devastated about it.
[9:59] So I just emailed Lou on the cuff and went, hey, just letting you know, we leave to go overseas in about four days.
[10:08] was there anything that we needed to do or have we missed or whatnot?
[10:11] And he just sort of came back and said, oh shit, sorry, no, leave it with me.
[10:16] And then came back and said, oh, here's Trav, who's your financial strat.
[10:19] And then we had to give all of our documentations to be looked at in about two days, which was really, really tough, but we got it.
[10:28] It's probably my fault.
[10:30] All right.
[10:31] I think I was away then, I was overseas.
[10:33] All right, okay.
[10:34] And so, cause that goes through all the team.
[10:36] And then it piles up.
[10:38] Yeah.
[10:38] And they all go, they give their yes, no, maybe, whatever.
[10:41] And then it has to come to me to sign off.
[10:43] And that's why I started like the first big batch I get really quick.
[10:46] Yeah.
[10:46] I look at like Monday, Tuesday, we're in between shit.
[10:49] And then if my diary is wild, I don't look at the next batch for a week or two.
[10:53] Gotcha.
[10:53] So it like happens in batches.
[10:55] Yeah.
[10:55] Well, we must have been like, if I'm traveling, I take a folder with me or I download it all on the computer and I'm in the air and I'm like, yeah, nah, yeah.
[11:02] I don't know.
[11:03] They're good people.
[11:04] Like all that's, it takes fucking ages.
[11:06] shit takes so long makes sense it's got to be the right fit like we're going to be able to do a really good job for you and you're going to be pretty committed and if not it just doesn't work you start doing all this work and it's just not the right fit so it's a waste of your time too
[11:22] Well, it means that because at the moment, it's pretty wild, like pretty much every single event, 83 is the lowest 87% sign up.
[11:30] So it's somewhere between that 83 to 87, every single class, you get 500, 600 people in there.
[11:36] But then we say no to about 23%, roughly 22, 23%.
[11:41] So there's a big chunk in there.
[11:43] You might get 500 on 400 plus apply.
[11:46] We say no to, you know, a hundred.
[11:48] Like it, it just depends, but it's a lot of people to get through.
[11:52] Yeah.
[11:52] And that's why we only take client applications at that event.
[11:55] Cause it's like the whole business stops.
[11:56] Um,
[11:57] focuses on that and then everyone else keeps getting looked after but it's like a big chunk of the business stops to assess new potential clients and then they get put into the system and then off you go you start and once you start your journey it's pretty fluid but that initial assessment phase is fucking wild i bet yeah a little lack of sleep and then rem as well
[12:16] Yeah, all the stuff for Rem, I'm very sleep deprived all the time, that's why I'm so short, angry and frumpy I think, but anyway, okay, so Jan Feb this year and Rem was what, May sorry you said?
[12:28] Yep, May this year, got on stage, danced, won a package which was nice, so we're going to enjoy that next May we've booked it in actually.
[12:37] You haven't been yet?
[12:38] No, no we haven't, so it'll be like the year lapse from Rem which is great.
[12:42] which would be pretty cool.
[12:43] And you'll be right, Bub will be done.
[12:45] You'll be able to enjoy the food and the wine.
[12:46] Yeah, that's right.
[12:47] That was the other main thing so that you could enjoy some wine and stuff.
[12:50] You don't know who you're going to take with you?
[12:52] Yeah, both are months.
[12:53] Oh, nice.
[12:55] It'll be like their Mother's Day present for next year.
[12:57] And they know?
[12:58] Yes.
[12:59] They do know now, yeah.
[13:00] that'd be lovely yeah that'd be awesome yeah i can see the mums on the couple of venos having a cracker every day oh and they they get a long like a house on fire that's good so they'll good i've seen some pretty cool um videos and photos people facetime me from there and stuff it's pretty cool so and the food is impeccable yeah it looks pretty good yeah okay very good
[13:23] um okay let's talk then so mortgage when we started so we joined infinity so the mortgage was how much then 740 when we refinanced okay and what's it sitting at today it's at about 605 605 yeah yeah smashed it yeah did you sell cars organs no no still got all of them that i know of anyway but okay no no cars no toys or anything just rapid repay budget smashed it down
[13:52] Head down, bum up and follow the process.
[13:55] What about Food, Fuel, Fun?
[13:58] What did you set when you first started?
[14:01] We were...
[14:02] 7.20?
[14:03] Yeah.
[14:04] And then we dropped it as we went along a few months after, went to 6.20, and then the challenge came about.
[14:10] Yeah.
[14:10] I thought, let's have a crack at that.
[14:11] That'll be good fun.
[14:12] These are all crazy.
[14:13] Yeah.
[14:13] You're just going nuts.
[14:16] Yeah.
[14:17] So I did that and loved it, and we sort of realised that you could stick with it, and now it's 5.20.
[14:22] 5.20?
[14:23] Yeah.
[14:24] So that's pretty good for me at three.
[14:26] Yeah.
[14:27] What about, so smashing the mortgage, what?
[14:31] I mean, you guys, you're obviously pretty smart.
[14:33] You're long-haul trains.
[14:35] You know what you're doing.
[14:35] You're not dumb.
[14:37] And engineering, you guys are pretty switched on.
[14:39] It's not like you're bouncing a tennis ball every day for a job.
[14:43] I'm not saying any job's dumb, but you're intellectual people.
[14:47] What flicked a switch or changed for you guys to go from where you were with the mortgage to like 135 grand off since you started?
[14:55] Were you paying minimums before?
[14:57] Were you putting a little bit like, obviously since we've restructured everything for you, you've smashed the mortgage.
[15:04] So what's so different in the structure now to what you were doing on your own?
[15:09] Probably just the budget.
[15:10] Just sticking with that, like,
[15:13] Because we did number one beforehand, we just bought what we wanted.
[15:17] It was still not crazy and just went... Like comfortable.
[15:20] Yeah, that's right.
[15:21] But now it's with this FFF and sticking along with it and following the process and knowing what our goals are.
[15:29] It's a lot easier.
[15:32] So pre-Infinity, if you were going home tonight, you'd be like, what do you want for dinner?
[15:37] Would you just order something?
[15:38] Okay.
[15:38] No, we never really had like big takeaway people because we're quite healthy in general.
[15:45] Yeah, we're still sort of meal prepped and stuff.
[15:48] Not as much as we do now.
[15:49] But you're like pretty full on with it now?
[15:51] Yeah, definitely.
[15:52] I used to hate going to the shops anyway.
[15:54] It was a pain.
[15:55] Waste of time.
[15:56] Yeah, it was a pain in the ass.
[15:57] Because you try and go to like CrossFit after...
[16:00] work and then you don't want to go to the shops and you make dinner and yeah it's yeah it's a nightmare so okay we did maybe shop twice a week we'd always go on the weekend and maybe like a midweek yeah but then now we're able to structure it get it all sorted do it once a week and it's yeah it's amazing it's okay it's funny what you can do when you put your mind to it really it's like your health or your food or your money anything you're if you're dead serious about it it's wild what you can achieve
[16:25] Exactly.
[16:26] Okay.
[16:27] So, 520 is pretty cool.
[16:28] Okay.
[16:29] So, you weren't loose with your spending before, but you weren't perfectly structured.
[16:34] You were somewhere in the middle, you'd say.
[16:36] Yeah.
[16:37] I definitely probably went and bought things and didn't really think about it.
[16:43] But now I'm like, do I really want that?
[16:46] So when you say like clothes or you go, oh shit, I need some new shoes or makeup or I don't know.
[16:53] When you say you buy things and not think about just day-to-day stuff?
[16:56] Yeah, just day-to-day like, you know, makeup or skincare and that kind of stuff and clothes.
[17:03] Now I'm like, oh, I don't really need, necessarily need that.
[17:06] But it runs out, you need it, right?
[17:07] Oh, yes, yeah.
[17:08] Before you just buy, oh, okay, that looks good, it's on sale, a bit of retail therapy.
[17:11] Yes, yes.
[17:12] Yes.
[17:13] Okay.
[17:14] So what about investing?
[17:16] Have you done investing?
[17:18] We have, yeah.
[17:19] You guys have helped us get four properties, which is... Oh, just four.
[17:23] Mind-block, I know.
[17:24] Just four.
[17:25] Before REM, when we were talking to Brendan, we were just sort of trying to suss it out because we were finding out with him like, oh, so what is it?
[17:31] And he went, oh, maybe this, this.
[17:34] We're like, oh, okay.
[17:34] And he said, you'll find out at REM.
[17:36] And yes, dressing, obviously went there and we had our meeting with Lou on the Thursday.
[17:40] So we were one of the early ones, which is great.
[17:43] And then he just pulled out the shoot and just sort of went through everything.
[17:46] And was like, oh yeah, we'll get this and this, this, this.
[17:49] What do you think?
[17:51] Sure.
[17:52] I know one of you is having another baby.
[17:53] You're celebrating.
[17:55] Exactly.
[17:56] Was that a bit daunting?
[17:58] It was.
[17:58] It was.
[17:59] Yeah.
[18:00] We were sort of going to him, you sure?
[18:02] Because I thought beforehand, like, doing the numbers, I could only get one.
[18:06] Yeah.
[18:06] And that was maybe something comfortable for now and then maybe some down the track.
[18:11] But then he's just like...
[18:12] yep we've got these and they went shit righto he said what do you think do you want to do it we went all right we'll follow the process yeah we'll trust you let's do it we were we were definitely shocked we walked away from that and we were just like whoa yeah you would have been rattled all weekend we were we were buzzing it was it was wild clearly celebrating yeah hey enjoy okay so and did you meet some cool people learn some cool shit
[18:42] we did yeah thursday night it's like the meet and greet and we got to meet donna and michael testimonials yeah and we were like the nervous ones walking in on the thursday night so it's funny everyone walks in on a thursday night and they're in the corner yeah it's like if anyone's weird we'll just i'll give you the look and we'll go back to the hotel room and then they come in all like real like quiet and shy and by like saturday night or he's
[19:06] on each other's shoulders on stage people it's crazy right it's what it's interesting to watch how much somebody can go from stressed concerned not sure on guard to just completely just give it into the process and just having a ball and just like i get it let's rock and roll yeah just in those couple of days it's crazy i love watching it yeah i walk out on stage on friday i'm like who's no no no i'm not doing it and then i'm like
[19:34] We'll see.
[19:34] I always have a little giggle.
[19:36] We'll see.
[19:37] People come up and be like, I bought four houses and we won't be pregnant.
[19:42] It's pretty fun.
[19:43] Yeah, it was awesome.
[19:44] Like we were the, yeah, stick in the corner and then we're looking around and I think it was Michael sort of saw us looking about
[19:50] And we went over and, ha, hello.
[19:52] Saw the red tags and went, okay, yeah.
[19:55] Hey, and we just chatted with them pretty much that whole night.
[19:58] And it was cool to hear their story and what they've achieved in such little time.
[20:00] Their budget's crazy.
[20:02] I know.
[20:03] Yeah.
[20:03] And it's gone down.
[20:04] Crazy.
[20:04] I'm like, they're on the air diet.
[20:05] Yeah.
[20:07] Oh, wow.
[20:08] They're lovely people.
[20:10] Oh, amazing.
[20:11] And they're really nice.
[20:12] They were down to earth.
[20:13] And that made us relax a little bit.
[20:14] Yeah.
[20:15] And we met a few other people that night.
[20:16] And it really helps, I think, that you get to speak to other people.
[20:19] They could be two months or two years or 12 years into the day.
[20:23] It helps to pick their brain.
[20:24] Because they think of things, I think from a client perspective, that we might not as the advisor.
[20:31] So you can ask things that to us are like, what do you mean?
[20:34] But to other people, oh, I thought that too.
[20:36] Or I struggled with that too.
[20:38] I think it really helps.
[20:40] Definitely, yeah.
[20:41] And it's just a fucking great weekend.
[20:43] Yeah.
[20:43] I don't know how you do it.
[20:44] It's phenomenal work.
[20:46] I fall in a heap on the Sunday.
[20:47] Yeah.
[20:48] Usually the Sunday is no alarm.
[20:50] Everyone knows not to contact.
[20:51] Like if you need anything, unless it's like, hey, I'm sitting with Bob and Mary and this and that, and they want to know if they can do this.
[20:56] And I'm like, yes.
[20:57] Because the week leading in, we sit down and allocate everyone's strategy.
[21:02] So the team now this week are downstairs from Melbourne, Sydney, working on all of the 700, 800 people for next weekend's REM.
[21:11] That's been going all this week and part of next week.
[21:14] So we get to REM and everyone's like, yeah, and we're like, oh.
[21:18] And then because Saturday's a really big day for me.
[21:20] I'm like morning through to night.
[21:23] Yeah.
[21:23] And then I get home and then I'm exhausted mentally, but my brain just can't turn off because I'm also jacked off everyone's energy.
[21:31] So I'm like, yeah.
[21:32] go to sleep.
[21:33] Yeah.
[21:33] It's hard.
[21:34] And then Sunday, I'm just like, sleep in.
[21:36] Usually just lay in the theater room, put a blanket on, put a movie on and just kind of like... Chill out.
[21:41] Yeah, just, yeah.
[21:42] Because it's a bit like... No Frank the Tank on Sunday.
[21:45] No, it depends which remedy is.
[21:47] Sometimes Frank's out, Roxy's out.
[21:50] There's been some shockers.
[21:51] We had...
[21:52] The whole room had shots at one.
[21:53] I'm like, this is not a good thing, right?
[21:56] Oh, no.
[21:56] The tequila came out.
[21:58] Oh.
[21:59] That was not good.
[21:59] And it was actually a client's fault.
[22:02] client started it with one of the guest speakers and he's like, this is a terrible audience.
[22:07] The next thing he's like, the whole audience and everyone was having shots and I'm like, 3 p.m.
[22:11] I'm like, this isn't gonna end well.
[22:13] People were rolling out of the club at like two or three a.m. from the after party.
[22:17] I was like, please, I don't wanna see the bar bill.
[22:19] Holy doly.
[22:20] Some of them are very lovely and civil.
[22:22] Some of them are crazy.
[22:23] But it's fun.
[22:24] It's fun.
[22:25] It's good.
[22:26] So a couple of investments as well.
[22:29] Big leap.
[22:29] Yeah.
[22:32] What's the big picture goal for you guys as a family?
[22:36] Family's growing in size, you know, does that change?
[22:39] Do you think, I want more time at home at family?
[22:42] No, we want to invest.
[22:44] What's going through your heads?
[22:45] Because, I mean, for us, strategy will need to evolve.
[22:49] Serviceability will change.
[22:50] Structure will change.
[22:51] There's all these sorts of things we might have to redesign for you.
[22:54] It's going to be constantly evolving.
[22:56] What's the big picture goal for you guys that we want to work on?
[22:59] I think for us, we wanna set a legacy sort of for our family and like, and our legacy is made in small continuous action.
[23:06] So I think if we can stick with it, we wanna try and like most, like Tom says, and that we wanna try and get a passive income.
[23:15] One way we can have the money work for us and live a comfortable life.
[23:19] We don't wanna be working till we're 60.
[23:23] We want to enjoy time with kids and grandkids and retire at a reasonable age and enjoy life.
[23:28] So do holidays, but I guess invest as well and live a comfortable life.
[23:35] Okay.
[23:36] Do you know what that looks like yet?
[23:39] Like if you put a number on it and said, oh, we need $5 million of assets or we want $50.
[23:45] Have you ever put any numbers to that yet?
[23:47] Or are you just at the moment just going through the process?
[23:50] We're in building phase, obviously, because we're young.
[23:54] Or we're just attacking the building phase?
[23:56] I think attack the building phase a little bit.
[24:01] try and build up that wealth and then eventually try and get something where we can, I've seen it in other podcasts where you said you liquidate one to buy two.
[24:10] So you sell one to two.
[24:11] Yeah, that's when you get real aggressive.
[24:13] Yeah, that would be nice in the long term, maybe 10 plus years.
[24:17] Okay.
[24:19] And just have it work for us in that sense where we can sell one to buy one and you do that annually and maybe
[24:24] I don't know, like a net worth of maybe 8 million and you take 5% an annum or something like that.
[24:30] It might be something that's decent to, comfortable to live off, you know what I mean?
[24:35] Maybe something like that.
[24:36] I think we're still trying to digest it.
[24:38] I was gonna say, I don't know if you've actually processed yet how well you've done in that mortgage reduction.
[24:46] So it's one thing to go, you see it on the statement, yeah, but then to actually take stock of it, you go, shit, like we're this far ahead.
[24:53] We've got this much, like you're crushing it, right?
[24:57] And it's easy to get caught up in just plowing through it and not stopping to enjoy it or actually process it.
[25:03] And then to add four properties to that, and then you're talking to financial planners and you're doing your super, like it's full on.
[25:11] So you do have to stop and smell the roses, which you'll have to stop and slow down a bit soon.
[25:16] Well, it'll get busier, I guess, with that, but yes.
[25:19] Sleep deprivation and good ages, right?
[25:22] 17 months.
[25:24] Yes.
[25:24] Yes.
[25:25] Yeah, she's 70 months, so there'll be 20 months between the two.
[25:28] That's pretty cool, actually.
[25:28] She's probably a good age as well.
[25:31] Play with each other in here.
[25:33] You're one of five.
[25:34] Yeah, and we're all 18 months apart.
[25:36] What's the plan?
[25:37] Is it more than two?
[25:40] Well, we don't actually know at this stage.
[25:42] I think.
[25:43] Not five.
[25:43] Yeah.
[25:44] Not five.
[25:44] Well.
[25:45] Beck and I have only been talking about this in the last couple of days a lot.
[25:48] Yeah.
[25:49] Yeah.
[25:49] We're next year, hopefully, planning next year.
[25:51] A couple of things to do.
[25:52] That's awesome.
[25:53] And we're like twins for sure.
[25:54] Her cousins are twins.
[25:55] My cousins are twins.
[25:57] Jew for twins.
[25:58] Runs like absolutely twins, right?
[26:01] And I'm like, I think I'd really like little girls if we had twins.
[26:06] And I like girl dad and she's like, nah, boys, they're gonna be freckly, angry, psycho little gingers like you and they're gonna be called Maxim Power.
[26:14] And I'm like, oh no.
[26:16] And I was actually trying to process, like negotiating with a sassy little Beck and I, and I was like, oh, I'm not ready for this.
[26:24] I'm not ready for this.
[26:26] And then I started getting a bit clucky, like,
[26:28] maybe three, four, she's been not being outnumbered.
[26:32] Oh!
[26:32] I'm like, do you want to play a smart decision?
[26:35] Because her friend's also got twins.
[26:37] And I was actually asked with her, I'm like, what happens when one runs that way and one runs that way?
[26:43] And she's like, will you assess the danger?
[26:45] Swing, eh, lump on the head.
[26:47] Road, dangerous.
[26:48] Chase that one.
[26:50] That makes sense.
[26:52] So have you ever thought about this?
[26:55] Because that's really important too, to go, okay, we've got four properties underway.
[26:59] If we decide we want to have a family of four, maybe we don't get to four properties.
[27:03] We might stop at two, raise the family for a while, then go back to wealth building.
[27:08] So that's really important too.
[27:11] Yeah, I think we would like to have three.
[27:14] I guess things just, we'll see how the second goes.
[27:16] Yeah.
[27:17] Work it from there.
[27:18] But yeah, I think definitely go hard now, pay it off.
[27:22] And then as you mentioned, maybe it is only two and we just focus on that for a few years.
[27:27] Yeah, family first, money second, but obviously enough money to look after the family.
[27:32] That's right.
[27:32] Yeah.
[27:33] Yeah.
[27:33] I think that'd be, that's ideal, right?
[27:35] And if they're happy and healthy, then that's also good too.
[27:38] So yeah.
[27:39] We might be just happy with two.
[27:41] Maybe.
[27:41] Yeah.
[27:42] I don't know.
[27:43] We'll see how old.
[27:44] No more REMs for you guys.
[27:45] Well, maybe, yeah.
[27:46] I think, yeah, one's good enough for now, yeah.
[27:51] Oh, boy, I can't wait to put you guys on stage at REM as a testimony.
[27:54] We'll give you shit all night.
[27:57] Oh, God.
[27:58] That's fine with us.
[27:59] Yeah, we'll be bluffing.
[28:00] We'll cover it, yeah.
[28:01] Can we escort them to separate rooms, please, ladies and gentlemen?
[28:05] We'll sit either side of the stage.
[28:07] Yeah, yeah, exactly.
[28:09] Don't fold your undies up and put them anywhere.
[28:10] Yeah, yeah.
[28:12] So, okay, so beautiful young family, really smashing the debt reduction.
[28:17] Where do you see yourself, like in the loan calculator, have you played with it much since we started and executed everything?
[28:23] Are you keeping an eye on it and going, right, they've told us 12 years or eight years, you know, but I reckon we can do it.
[28:29] Like, have you been playing with that yourself a bit to make sure you can refine it and stay on track?
[28:33] Or have you sort of just let it be?
[28:35] I have, I've done a few.
[28:37] I know you love your spreadsheets.
[28:38] That's what I'm like, oh, surely you've got it on there.
[28:40] Yeah, so I've done it with, say, three kids where we are currently and what it comes down to.
[28:46] And I think what we had as well is like four years and nine months it's at now, which is pretty exciting.
[28:53] It's pretty shocking as well.
[28:55] Yeah.
[28:55] And I was with three kids too, so it's like, wow.
[29:00] Yeah, it's still mind-blowing.
[29:02] Kind of can know that it's happening, but you kind of don't as well.
[29:06] It's still a bit of a shock.
[29:07] We're like in the honeymoon stage still.
[29:09] Okay.
[29:09] I guess being eight months, yeah.
[29:12] Okay.
[29:12] What's some of the learnings you share for someone at home to be like, like I said, you guys are a smart couple.
[29:17] You know what you're doing.
[29:18] Still in the spirit, but then you're like, shit, we're now a hundred and something grand ahead.
[29:22] Shit, we were getting a pre... Because I find it funny.
[29:25] You go get a pre-approval from the banker or whatever.
[29:27] Yeah, you can buy a property for X.
[29:29] Yeah, we've sat down and you can do three or four.
[29:32] And I find that disparity between what you're told you can do and what you can actually say, can we get a property?
[29:37] Why didn't that banker or broker say, hey, you can buy three properties or you can buy one $4 million?
[29:44] It seems weird to me in my industry when people...
[29:47] Get that?
[29:48] It doesn't make sense now that we...
[29:49] It doesn't, does it?
[29:50] Yeah.
[29:51] Because it's like you go for the advice and I think even in business, right?
[29:55] If someone's going to sell you a loan, you say, what can we borrow?
[29:58] And they go, oh yeah, you can do...
[29:59] It's almost like they assumed incorrectly you only wanted to buy for 900 for your pre-approval and you were going to buy one.
[30:07] Like they didn't think big enough?
[30:08] Does that make sense?
[30:09] Oh, 100% makes sense.
[30:10] It's kind of like they sort of stopped you in your tracks and you're like, oh, okay, I can get a house or a unit.
[30:15] And you sort of look for that and you're like...
[30:16] Hang on, you're telling me I could have bought a unit on the bay or the river?
[30:20] Or, like, it's almost, it's a bit weird.
[30:23] I find, like, and surely they wanted to do the big alone or, I don't get it.
[30:27] Yeah, I don't get it either.
[30:29] Like, especially after, you know, getting...
[30:32] four property properties and being only told we can get approval for one like doesn't make sense no you don't maybe they just don't look at the future for you like your team's great in the sense that you can give them everything and all your information and then they sort of plan you out for 10 plus years where i guess yeah but it's just a big difference like one property now to four properties like now or in the next 12 like it it's such a big difference like it is
[30:59] Anyway, I rack my brain on that every day.
[31:02] Like I look at clients that were told no nothing at all.
[31:05] They come to us and I'm like, yeah, you can go spend 800 grand.
[31:08] I don't know how you got zero.
[31:09] One of them went back into the bank and said, we've got this approval, we bought this, and you told us zero.
[31:15] And they checked all the numbers and the poor bloody banker put in like 800, 900 grand, didn't put any rent.
[31:23] oh like that just a simple mistake right now it must have been very inexperienced but also and then there's banks that use the depreciation and tax deductions and and let you claim and that there's banks that don't consider deduction like there's so many weird things in serviceability that each lender does differently so that can play a big part in it but one to three or four is a very big difference so yeah
[31:47] But what guidance would you give to people listening to this going, okay, young family, kind of relate to these guys.
[31:56] I've got a spreadsheet for everything too.
[31:57] I'm pretty across it.
[31:59] But hang on a minute.
[32:00] They're knocking off like 120 grand in eight months.
[32:03] They didn't sell houses, cars, livers, kidneys, toes.
[32:06] You're not on only feet, I'm assuming.
[32:08] Yeah, no.
[32:09] Yeah.
[32:10] okay, maybe we can do a lot better because you don't know what you don't know.
[32:14] What advice would you give those people?
[32:15] What are some of the things that you remember going through going, oh, okay, we did leak a little bit of money here.
[32:20] Or I did just go, oh, yeah, we're out.
[32:22] Oh, yeah, that looks like skincare's on sale.
[32:24] I'll buy it.
[32:24] Or, oh, yeah, I'll get some new Metcons today for CrossFit or what.
[32:28] Like there's obviously something different that's seeing you do so much better.
[32:35] I guess just big wants and needs I found that was big.
[32:39] Like when you think about things, it goes, you sort of realize, well, I don't need that.
[32:45] It was more of a want.
[32:46] And for me, it was, I'm already a tight ass as it is.
[32:51] So I'll try and not spend too much on some things, but other times as well, I wouldn't.
[32:56] And I just go- Just the things you do like versus the things- Yeah.
[32:59] You sort of second guess and go, oh, maybe I don't need that.
[33:03] But we were, yeah, we just didn't know where to go.
[33:06] We were lost.
[33:08] We were comfortable, but wanted to, I guess, set up a family for the future.
[33:15] What's been hard in the journey?
[33:17] What's been hard is the learning a new way, listening to a structure that's the opposite of what everyone tells you to do.
[33:25] Don't put all your money in your mortgage.
[33:26] That's dumb.
[33:27] Use an offset account.
[33:28] Right.
[33:29] Because there's a lot of opposite to mainstream that we're telling you to do, right?
[33:33] Has any of that been hard?
[33:36] Not really, no.
[33:37] No.
[33:37] It's been pretty good.
[33:38] I think it comes down to education, like.
[33:41] Yep.
[33:42] Following the process, letting the baker bake.
[33:45] Yes.
[33:46] Well, you only learn what you know where when you learn something different, I guess, or a proper way to do it, it did make sense.
[33:53] I'm a numbers guy.
[33:53] So when you started showing the $500,000 mortgage, interest per day was $1,000 a day and rah, rah, rah.
[34:00] It sort of clicked and went, oh shit.
[34:03] and having it all in one consolidated account and redraw it just made sense.
[34:08] Yeah, and that's those little wins where people don't think like if your interest is 58 bucks a day and you can get it to 48, shit, there's an extra 300 bucks at the end of the month.
[34:16] Yeah.
[34:16] Awesome, what do you do with that money now, all right?
[34:19] It's all those little give every dollar a purpose, I guess.
[34:22] Mm-hmm.
[34:24] Okay.
[34:24] So there's no hard plan at the moment to go, right, three children, five children.
[34:30] You said one of five?
[34:31] I'm one of five, yeah.
[34:32] Okay.
[34:33] Mum and dad didn't have a TV, clearly.
[34:37] I'll put a TV in your room at RIM next time.
[34:41] So, like, there's no – because obviously it goes pretty young too.
[34:45] There's no hard plan at the moment, right?
[34:47] So, we're going to be a family of four, beautiful young family, good foundation set up already.
[34:53] There's no real sort of, and you mentioned before, you said, oh, it'd be nice, depending on how many kids we have, it'd be nice to maybe have, you know, $8 million and 5% return, all that sort of, but there's no hard figure at the moment or hard structure.
[35:06] We'd like to buy a bigger house.
[35:07] I think we were looking at, like when we bought our house, it was during peak COVID.
[35:13] Yep.
[35:13] So it was really hard because you're looking for 12 months and, yeah, the prices were crazy.
[35:21] Sold the day that it was listed.
[35:24] Yeah.
[35:25] So I kind of think we went in and just bought what we could get in July.
[35:31] like in a decent area.
[35:34] But yeah, we'd like to have a bigger place.
[35:36] Because that's really important too as we evolve the strategy.
[35:39] Okay, well, if the priority now needs to become a bigger home, we need to be very careful with the investing because we don't want to take off too much equity here that needs to go to the home.
[35:50] Otherwise, we end up having a bigger non-deductible debt on the home.
[35:53] We've got the investor.
[35:54] We've got to balance that for you as well.
[35:57] Yeah, that's not straight away.
[35:59] In the future.
[36:00] I'm starting to redo a new draft strategy in my head for you guys.
[36:04] That's why I'm like, okay, what are we going to do after this?
[36:07] Okay.
[36:10] What else did I want to pick your brains about?
[36:13] Have you guys ever thought about what retirement looks like?
[36:17] Yeah, I think mid-50s are the latest.
[36:19] Well, that would be nice.
[36:21] Definitely to spend time around kids and grandkids.
[36:25] We've been privileged with that with my parents that they're both retired and we have granny daycare Monday into Tuesdays, which is awesome.
[36:33] How good.
[36:34] Save a shitload on that.
[36:35] Yeah.
[36:35] It's fantastic.
[36:37] But it's nice too for her to grow up with them and have time.
[36:40] Yeah, instead of just daycare or something.
[36:42] Yeah, that's it.
[36:43] So I'd like to do that for our kids and help them out
[36:47] just spending time quality time is the hardest thing yeah and that's the best thing too so doing that going on holidays as well that would be fantastic
[36:58] Enjoying life, like, and not having that financial stress of, you know, what's our retirement going to look like?
[37:06] Yeah.
[37:07] Correct.
[37:08] And let's talk about your team for a second.
[37:10] So, who have you got in your team?
[37:11] Oh, we've got Brendan.
[37:12] Yeah.
[37:13] Mad Dog.
[37:13] He's awesome.
[37:14] He's so good.
[37:15] Vinny G, as they say.
[37:16] Don't tell him that.
[37:18] He's kidding himself.
[37:20] He gave himself that label, just saying.
[37:22] Yeah.
[37:23] Yeah.
[37:24] Has he?
[37:24] I'm going to strip him of that title.
[37:26] Yeah.
[37:27] Yeah.
[37:28] And then we got Trav.
[37:30] So he's our final strat.
[37:31] He's awesome.
[37:32] Nice, Jen.
[37:33] And Lou, who's our last strat as well.
[37:35] It's a great team.
[37:36] Yeah.
[37:37] Really good team.
[37:37] We're really lucky.
[37:38] Yeah.
[37:39] So how often do you, because everyone's different, right?
[37:42] Some people, every couple of months they check in with Brandon.
[37:45] How often do you bounce off little B, not little G?
[37:50] How often do you bounce off little B?
[37:53] We do the month check-in, so every month we do do a Zoom chat.
[37:57] And you're using the portal, having a look at the portal, checking the spreadsheets, doing a video call or a call every month.
[38:03] Yep, going through that.
[38:05] He just checks on how we're doing, making sure we're sticking with it, just as we are, which is great.
[38:11] I'll even text him at different times and emails just on the cuff if we need something.
[38:15] Something weird, yeah.
[38:17] Yeah, like the coffee machine, break one, so we're shit.
[38:20] And I thought he was going to neg it and be like, nah, can you not?
[38:25] And frankly enough, he's like, yep, go for it.
[38:27] You guys are in a good sport.
[38:29] What's the alternative?
[38:29] You start buying shop coffee every day instead of having shop quality coffee at home.
[38:34] Exactly.
[38:35] It's a big cost difference.
[38:36] Hell yeah.
[38:37] I don't know how people can do it every day.
[38:39] I think I'd go back to Instance before I go and spend the money on a coffee shop.
[38:43] What have we created?
[38:44] Mekona or Nescafe?
[38:48] Mekona.
[38:49] Mekona's all right.
[38:50] That's to be honest.
[38:51] You can almost whip it when you stir it and it gets a bit of a cream or something.
[38:55] But that Nescafe or whatever it is or roast food, I remember years when I worked in the bank, it had that big tin.
[39:03] It was all seedy.
[39:04] People would put sugar in it and milky spoon.
[39:06] You're like...
[39:08] yeah it's just sort of brown water yeah it's a bit disgusting it's a bit rough that's raw dog in it that's yeah but no great team and it's really nice that we've got brendan too because he's very like us he's young family yep nice easy to talk with it just makes the process that much easier okay it's good to hear yeah bounce that's anything financial we bounce off trav
[39:32] We go through Brendan for most things.
[39:34] Yeah, okay.
[39:35] We haven't really dealt much with Trav in the instance.
[39:37] It's a struggle.
[39:38] Yeah, I can imagine he's a busy man, so.
[39:40] Well, he's about to get a lot busier because I'm forming this strategy reassessment as we're chatting.
[39:45] I'm like, oh, okay, cool.
[39:47] Yeah.
[39:49] Because when we talk bigger home as well, we really want to balance and time that really well for as the investments, you know, as each investment happens and what we buy and what we sell and when we do it, it's really critical to time it.
[40:03] Yeah.
[40:03] So we might want to do that sooner, not later.
[40:06] Yep, okay.
[40:07] Does that make sense?
[40:08] I don't know yet, but I'm just putting it.
[40:10] You're peeping your step, mate.
[40:13] Yeah.
[40:14] And I'm not saying let's run out of it, but I want to crunch the numbers after this catch-up, and we'll do a part two to this, obviously, just for people to see how you go.
[40:22] We want to maybe look at that now to pre-plan, even before Bob to go, right, okay.
[40:27] Yeah, it's better if when we get back from Matt leave, right, that we actually are looking and shopping and buying and selling and okay, off we go.
[40:35] And then the dust settles because then that property is happening there.
[40:38] We want to get that chronological order really as perfect as we can.
[40:43] That's really important.
[40:45] Okay.
[40:45] All right.
[40:46] Jared's like, no, seven years, no.
[40:48] No, we told Lou it was 10 years, which was 2030.
[40:51] Yeah, it may still be.
[40:54] I just want to pull it apart because obviously Rembub on the way.
[40:58] We know if having a boy or a girl.
[41:00] Not sure.
[41:01] Can't call them Rem.
[41:02] It's a bit of a weird name.
[41:06] No, we'll keep it as a surprise.
[41:07] We did it with our first.
[41:08] Yeah, nice.
[41:09] Makes it exciting.
[41:10] It does.
[41:11] You go through nine months of, well, you go through more than nine months of trauma than us, but it's nice to have something else to look forward to.
[41:18] Yeah, I like that because everyone's so big on these bloody wanky.
[41:23] Gender reveal.
[41:23] Yeah.
[41:23] Yeah.
[41:24] They go through the roof.
[41:25] Like, okay, cool.
[41:27] You just spent a house deposit on a party.
[41:30] Why am I struggling anyway?
[41:32] I think it's cool to have that little bit of surprise and excitement these days.
[41:35] Are you and Bec going to have the surprise too when that time comes?
[41:39] You know what?
[41:40] Bec's decision.
[41:41] Yeah.
[41:42] Yeah, she has to go.
[41:43] It's like I've been hauling arse.
[41:45] I'm nine kilos off now.
[41:47] Oh, that's awesome.
[41:48] Yeah, and I've always been so black and white that I fail.
[41:53] So this time I'm like, no, because I said, all right, nine months for you, got to be nine, ten months.
[41:57] Like I have to make, like I did when I was younger in a competitive sport, I have to get fit and healthy and maintain it.
[42:03] Yeah.
[42:04] If I can't, I don't think I should be right to be parenting because I've got to set those examples, right?
[42:08] Yeah.
[42:09] So I've just been super consistent in the last sort of couple of months.
[42:12] And it's just coming off kind of like, well, there's times before I'm like, I don't drop three, four kilos in a week.
[42:17] I'm like, oh, this is it.
[42:18] And I set myself up for failure.
[42:20] Whereas this time I'm like, just a kilo a week, kilo.
[42:24] We did Europe, Dubai, Italy, like all of that.
[42:28] And I came home and I was like seven kilos down.
[42:31] Wow, that's crazy.
[42:32] Came home and the last two weeks, eight kilos down, nine kilos down.
[42:37] But I've just been finally got food under control instead of it controlling me.
[42:42] Hit my steps every day, train every day and it's just been good.
[42:46] So that's my big like, that's my sole focus now outside of the biz but I'm making time for it.
[42:53] So yeah, we're sort of said sort of next year, launch of America, get through that, have that all settled with the right team members there and to and from.
[43:02] And then sort of hopefully sort of Q3, Q4 next year.
[43:06] Sweet.
[43:07] Oh, that's awesome.
[43:08] Get hold of her for a second and we'll be all right.
[43:11] And hopefully twins and we're done.
[43:12] Rem.
[43:13] It works.
[43:13] Yeah.
[43:14] Maybe.
[43:15] Actually, I'm going to tell that when I get home tonight.
[43:18] Might be the opposite effect for you guys.
[43:20] Yeah, no.
[43:21] I'll be like, I'm too tired.
[43:23] Exactly.
[43:24] But yeah, so we're hoping.
[43:25] We always said two.
[43:26] Hopefully just twins and done.
[43:27] Yeah.
[43:28] Beck wants boy, dad, energy, sporty mum, all that sort of stuff.
[43:31] I'm like, ooh.
[43:32] I think girls would be cool.
[43:33] She's like, nah, too dramatic.
[43:35] Too much crap.
[43:36] I'm like, oh, okay.
[43:37] So we'll see.
[43:38] We'll see.
[43:39] But hopefully just twins and done.
[43:41] Might get one of each, you don't know, as well.
[43:43] Yeah, but then I'm really worried.
[43:45] I hope that all the genetics and everything come from the girl.
[43:49] Yeah.
[43:49] Because I'm like a ginger freckly little fart.
[43:51] Imagine twins but then a girl.
[43:53] Like, I'd feel like...
[43:55] I want them to be, like, not bullied at school and look like me.
[43:58] So we'll see.
[44:00] We'll see.
[44:01] But, yeah, late next year.
[44:03] Cool.
[44:03] That's exciting.
[44:04] And we'll see how long it takes.
[44:05] So exciting.
[44:06] Yeah.
[44:06] Because in late next year, then the following year, then it can sort of pull back a bit.
[44:10] Yeah.
[44:10] Like, you see all the other people doing stuff now, the Rachels and the Lou's.
[44:14] Everyone else is on sort of background now.
[44:17] Yeah.
[44:17] So sort of by the end of next year, it can pull back a bit and slowly but surely and just, yeah.
[44:21] Well, you've worked really hard to get to that point.
[44:23] Oh, yeah.
[44:24] So, yeah, you definitely deserved.
[44:26] Missed every wedding, every birth, pretty much anything that's ever – because I work every weekend.
[44:31] Yeah.
[44:32] There's a master class.
[44:33] There's a REM.
[44:34] Yeah.
[44:35] There's some – so I was doing all these stage events and did talking somewhere and then travelling somewhere.
[44:40] It's like typically I get like a Sunday or a Monday off and it might be one or back to back and then nothing for like 20, 30 days.
[44:48] Fire out It's fun All the crew Like the Davis And all the They're like And everyone gets This vegetative state After a big long run Yeah So it's Yeah So anyway Late next year Should be good Exciting times And Yeah Getting the forever home And
[45:04] Just chill.
[45:05] Just relax.
[45:05] Hopefully.
[45:07] But we did the big run now pre that to be like, cool, we don't have to work.
[45:11] Like choice is the big word.
[45:13] Yeah, I can go in and do a few hours today.
[45:16] I can help someone with that or train with that.
[45:18] And just step back into a business ownership role, not an operator employment role.
[45:24] So that's been really important to just...
[45:25] And like, it's working so easy.
[45:27] So you see like five finalists in this, eight finalists.
[45:30] Like it's everyone else.
[45:31] I haven't had my name in lights for ages.
[45:33] It's great.
[45:33] I'm like, see you later guys.
[45:34] Bye.
[45:35] No one cares about me anymore.
[45:36] It's great.
[45:37] Like I want that.
[45:38] You know what I mean?
[45:39] I want to see the rest of the team win and they're smashing it.
[45:43] So that's good.
[45:44] It's really good.
[45:45] You'd be proud, that's for sure.
[45:47] Oh, like a proud Darren.
[45:48] It's like having so many children.
[45:50] You don't have to deal with any of their dramas.
[45:52] It's so good.
[45:53] It's good.
[45:53] It's really good.
[45:54] Yeah, they did well at the New Zealand Awards.
[45:57] Mm-hmm.
[45:58] Yeah, we had Billion Dollar Club.
[46:01] There's only one in Australia for that brand.
[46:04] And then Zaki, I think, won an award.
[46:06] And Rachel.
[46:07] Yeah, it was very cool.
[46:08] Very cool.
[46:10] Very good.
[46:11] Hey, we're going to do a part two of this, but I want to know if you want to guys pepper me and pick my brain today while we're here as well.
[46:18] Jared definitely has a few questions.
[46:20] What gave you the idea to start REM?
[46:23] To start REM?
[46:24] Yeah.
[46:25] That's a good one.
[46:25] I thought you were gonna say start Infinity then, to start REM.
[46:28] So what I've realized, and Bec actually did this, when we first started the business, we moved back to Port Macquarie because her grandfather had a health scare.
[46:39] And so we were down there, and the business was very early days, and we had like 30 files on the floor in the lounge room, and we're like, shit, we need an office, and we've got an office.
[46:50] When we started, Beck used to sit in the meeting room, boardroom table, and she'd sit there in every single meeting and she'd document everything.
[46:58] Because I'm more of a research study, yes, but it sits in here.
[47:04] I'm not like, oh, I'm going to go document.
[47:06] It's here and I go, oh, that makes sense to me and I'll retain it.
[47:09] then I'll go off and I'm like the creative whiteboard speak, but I'm not one, if you ask me to sit there and write an assignment, forget it.
[47:17] Hate the textbooky stuff, right?
[47:19] If you ask me to present it, happy days.
[47:23] So, Beck sat in on every meeting we've ever done and she would document everything and all the notes and next actions and all that sort of stuff.
[47:31] And she got to a point where she realized every single time I followed a particular order of information and knowledge and advice...
[47:41] to those people and they accepted it.
[47:43] It fucking just worked meticulously well.
[47:47] And then that was like for the loans.
[47:48] And then it was for like any coaching and it was teaching property.
[47:51] You know, it used to be just me over like three or four meetings.
[47:55] And then as we got bigger and bigger and we started to get staff and had to teach people to do it, she sort of developed like an SOP of like, that's the operating process of what G would do.
[48:05] You need to, you need to go through that process.
[48:08] So it was all her brain.
[48:09] It was just what I was doing.
[48:11] I would do it differently sometimes and she'd ping me on it and she'd go, that's not going to work.
[48:15] I'm like, what do you mean?
[48:16] Those people are missing this step and they're going to come back and ask you 63 questions.
[48:24] And I'm like, oh, really?
[48:25] And sure as shit, she was always right.
[48:28] I was like, fuck.
[48:29] A woman's smart as a woman.
[48:32] But during it, like you might think, oh, he's missed that, he'll come back to it.
[48:35] And you know, you go through it all.
[48:36] Or like we get off on a tent.
[48:38] So she sort of built like an SOP for it.
[48:41] As we grew and grew, I didn't have enough time or hours in the day
[48:46] to do it for everyone like i had no scale you know like you it's like a personal trainer they can do 50 sessions say 10 sessions a day at over 10 11 hours and they're exhausted but there's physically no other time to do programming meal like yeah you're exhausted right they can't sleep so it's that same thing while they end up going online to then be able to serve more people
[49:08] So she's really good at that sort of thing to be like, hey, don't do that.
[49:13] I'm like all over the place.
[49:15] She's super structured.
[49:16] So she was sort of nailed it.
[49:18] And as I was doing the more property stuff for people over the years that started with just mortgages and evolved into the property to help people.
[49:25] she nailed that I, again, always went through this same process of educating.
[49:29] It was the basics, you know, like teach them this, do you know that?
[49:33] And if I went through this process correctly, made sure they absorbed it and taught them, after I'd taught them a certain amount of steps and different, you know, whether it's CGT or TALIC, once I'd done that,
[49:46] there was this critical point where people were just in and they executed.
[49:51] They just felt empowered and they were informed and they were like, let's go, what do we do next?
[49:56] I'm like, well, we've got to pick some property.
[49:58] Like, yeah, good, let's go.
[49:59] So she sort of nailed that as well.
[50:02] Once she nailed that, she was like, oh, and then it was actually COVID was a bit of a blessing.
[50:08] She's like, well, why don't you just start teaching that to everyone?
[50:13] And I'm like, oh, that won't work.
[50:15] It's got to be one-on-one.
[50:16] It's such a big decision.
[50:18] And I was like, and Michael is like, no, no, no.
[50:20] Like you're doing the master.
[50:22] You're doing what you do with one client for hours and hours and hours.
[50:25] You're doing to everyone for the mortgage.
[50:27] Yeah.
[50:28] just add some more, because the masterclass wasn't as big.
[50:31] So we've added more and more, and now encompass the accountants, the financial, so it sort of encompasses this holistic financial package that you learn.
[50:40] But then the bit was like, oh, no, no, you've got to sit down one-on-one to go through the real estate stuff.
[50:44] They're like, but you thought that about the mortgage stuff.
[50:48] I was like, oh.
[50:50] So then it kind of, and through COVID it was digital.
[50:54] And then it kind of evolved.
[50:55] So I would sit there and I'd have like a doc in the morning and it just evolved.
[50:58] And it was like, I'm not saying anything different.
[51:01] I mean, if I do update something because the market moves and I have a new part of the presentation.
[51:05] Of course.
[51:06] We'd be sitting here today.
[51:07] I'd be on the whiteboard and I'd teach you this new knowledge that I've just checked and fact checked and processed.
[51:12] And I'd then teach every other meeting.
[51:14] But you have your sort of set meeting that works.
[51:17] So yeah, she was like, why don't you just do it to everyone?
[51:21] And so through COVID, we started doing these digital, like teach everyone about real estate.
[51:25] And then they could book an appointment off the back of it.
[51:28] And you would then in the, Lou's calendar would pop into the diary or Lou, and you would go, Lou, yeah, I'm working with Lou, you'd click it.
[51:35] You'd have all that knowledge from Doc and myself and the lawyer, and then you would go book, and then you would do your one-on-ones.
[51:41] But I'd given you all that foundational stuff.
[51:44] and then you would go into your one-on-one.
[51:46] So in your one-on-one, you're more now just focused, you're like, I get that, I get that, I get, like I can make an informed, educated, intellectual decision, not we should buy next door.
[51:59] Yeah.
[51:59] We know that, right?
[52:01] So it was kind of cool.
[52:02] She's more the brains of all the structural stuff.
[52:05] I'm just the extrovert-y flamboyant.
[52:07] She's more the introvert-y, detail-oriented background operational.
[52:11] So COVID was almost a good thing for us because it actually created scale.
[52:16] So like, how do we help?
[52:17] We got clients everywhere.
[52:19] How do we help more people, give more stuff to more people for free even?
[52:23] And then it just blew up.
[52:24] And now it's just a beast of its own.
[52:26] But then that worked in COVID.
[52:29] And then when borders opened, I was like, I want to do this in person.
[52:33] And she's like, no way.
[52:35] No, no, I want to do it in person.
[52:37] But it sure as shit, when we were doing it, it was like in between COVIDs.
[52:40] So there was one where we were trying to get people into Queensland and then it hit and no one could come.
[52:44] So it was just Queensland people in Queensland and we had all the stuff booked.
[52:48] And there was another one where it was in Sydney and we got in and then people couldn't get, we had the one when COVID really kicked off, um, in Melbourne.
[52:56] One of the times we were in Melbourne, we did the, we're doing a masterclass at that point when it all started and it was the Sunday and that night they said at whatever time tonight or Monday morning, so we're locking down Melbourne and it was just prison ever since then.
[53:12] And we got out that Sunday night or Monday morning, like when that big lockdown happened.
[53:16] That is so lucky.
[53:17] Oh, it was the worst.
[53:19] But that's how we ended up from Sydney and Queensland because we're up, back up.
[53:22] We had the office, both offices, and we were here and they're like, snap lockdown.
[53:26] And then Sydney was really bad and we're like, I guess we live here now.
[53:30] Yeah.
[53:30] I'm going to buy a house and some clothes and a washing.
[53:33] I couldn't even wash my undies.
[53:34] I had to go buy a new undie because we didn't have a washing machine.
[53:37] It was crazy.
[53:38] So, but yeah, Rem, the...
[53:41] the concept came off the back of the masterclass of you kind of teach everything else at scale what you're saying teaching the same things that people want to benefit from from you but to help more people it's got to be the business so we still wanted it to come from me um so yeah that's where it evolved from and it's fun but it's honestly like you've seen your one in may like every single one has been better
[54:05] Yeah.
[54:06] I don't know how.
[54:07] It's wild.
[54:08] You watch the videos, you watch the photos, it's like the branding gets better.
[54:12] They had a, so now they've got like a cash machine, you know those machines?
[54:16] Yeah, I've seen you got to catch it.
[54:18] Yeah, so to get on the stage to win the dance thing now, you've got to go in that and it's like the top 10.
[54:23] Oh.
[54:24] Oh, wow.
[54:24] We're getting too out of control.
[54:26] We nearly broke the stage a few times.
[54:28] People fall off, like it was fucking wild.
[54:32] Yeah.
[54:32] Far out.
[54:33] So we had to like, okay, we'll make it the top 10 people for it.
[54:35] And it's easier to judge because it's like 60 people up there, fake money flyers.
[54:40] I can't pick this.
[54:41] I'm just in tears with laughter.
[54:43] The guy in a Borat suit.
[54:44] The other one, it was like, it was wild.
[54:47] But that was Rem, yeah.
[54:48] Yeah, well, probably a bad influence for the, you know, me and your shoulders.
[54:52] Yeah, maybe.
[54:53] I started it all.
[54:53] It was pretty clean until that.
[54:54] Yeah.
[54:55] And I got a bit loose from there.
[54:57] What other questions you got?
[54:59] I've got two.
[55:00] So I've got one funny one, which is at the end.
[55:03] Okay.
[55:04] But we'll go with, what's, what was one major failure or setback that ended up being a turning point for you?
[55:14] Whether it's- Yeah, really good one.
[55:15] It's a life.
[55:16] I would have been, I think it was early, I think it was 2016, but I had to testify in an assy case.
[55:26] Oh, right.
[55:27] And some people I'd worked with in the industry many, many moons before did the wrong thing.
[55:33] And I had to testify in that.
[55:35] And in the end, I did.
[55:37] But it was just written.
[55:37] I said, I'm not going to talk to them in court or anything like that.
[55:40] And some people did the wrong thing.
[55:42] But under like Freedom of Information Act, this, that, the other...
[55:46] Those people then got a copy of that statement and they went to town on me.
[55:51] Like absolutely slaughtered me, wrote letters to clients, this like horrific, horrific, horrific.
[55:57] Yeah.
[55:58] And it's interesting because when someone attacks your credibility, it's like, oof.
[56:03] So that was pretty rough, but it's interesting because I'm one of those people that the harder that you bring something to me, the bigger the monster you create.
[56:13] So it was kind of a good thing in a way that it changed who I was completely, that somebody wanted to question who I was, you know, a couple of years into our business and challenge that when I hadn't done the wrong thing.
[56:25] but they were making shit up and like literally just fucking attacking me.
[56:30] So that was rough.
[56:31] That was really rough.
[56:32] Went on for 10 months before we actually got proof of what they were doing digitally, before it stopped.
[56:37] It was full on.
[56:39] And then it stopped obviously and the show goes on.
[56:41] But that was really, really rough.
[56:43] But it actually helped make and shape and create who I am today.
[56:48] changed completely who I am changed how I act, how I think all of that.
[56:53] Best thing.
[56:54] Sounds weird.
[56:55] Right.
[56:55] Best thing that ever happened to me.
[56:57] Yeah.
[56:57] Terrific.
[56:58] Yeah.
[56:58] But best thing that ever happened because it put, it just, it rewired me.
[57:03] Yeah.
[57:03] Yeah.
[57:04] um and i'm like i i love a challenge right but also these days too like people oh that guy talk to me when you get anywhere near where we are when you raise 700 grand for charity when you do you know when you do all these amazing things that we do for our community talk to me that until then you don't exist to me you know what i mean like unless you need my help i'll help you
[57:25] Yeah.
[57:25] But everyone's got an opinion on everyone.
[57:27] So look, that was life-changing for me, life-altering.
[57:31] Yeah.
[57:32] And I'm actually glad it happened.
[57:34] Horrific, but I'm glad it happened.
[57:37] You're good.
[57:37] You know, there's a big thing with ABC News about whistleblowing and this and that.
[57:41] And fuck it, yeah.
[57:42] So shit, but I'm glad it happened.
[57:44] You know, 10 years on now.
[57:46] yeah um but i think it's the old story if it doesn't break you it'll make you yeah and and taking really difficult things it's like failing right i don't use the word mistakes they're lessons if you do the same thing over and over again you're just a fucking idiot yeah all right but if you can do something and it doesn't work and you go shit that didn't work i can learn from that
[58:08] Happy days.
[58:09] Yeah.
[58:10] It's like clients.
[58:10] Oh, cool.
[58:11] You don't like it.
[58:12] I'll just take it off you.
[58:13] I'm not going to argue.
[58:14] Let's take it off.
[58:14] No worries.
[58:15] But there's always a mathematical outcome.
[58:17] Whether you understand it or not, that's your own stupidity.
[58:20] The math is the math.
[58:21] Yeah.
[58:21] I'll just take it off you.
[58:22] Yeah.
[58:23] So that was a horrific experience, but for me, it turned out to be great because it helped shape how I act, how I think, who I am.
[58:31] Yeah.
[58:33] And literally, like a year or two later, number one broker in the country, Rising State, literally just actually catapulted to where we are today and created that momentum.
[58:42] So, yeah.
[58:43] Yeah.
[58:44] So that was a shit one, but a good one.
[58:45] It's good that it made you grow as a person.
[58:47] Yeah.
[58:48] It was really, and I say to people, you weren't that bad.
[58:52] I used to be a shit bloke.
[58:53] Like, I really used to be driven by the wrong things and ego.
[58:59] Ego is such a dangerous thing.
[59:01] You know what I mean?
[59:02] Anyone that thinks...
[59:03] they're better than anyone else what are you comparing it to it's just opinion based you say crossfit before right who's the best crossfitter in the world well whoever passes the line first right whoever wins the most point but anything is objective subjective yeah and everybody thinks they're better than everybody the only thing you can compare is results and then multiply that by the amount of results so
[59:28] You know, I've got so much respect for a couple of people in our industry that are just absolutely crushing it.
[59:34] Great guys, great girls.
[59:37] But then I've got people who've got opinions of me and they do two parts of fuck all.
[59:41] So I think for anyone out there that's struggling in general that listens to these sorts of conversations, take things that are challenging.
[59:49] It won't challenge you forever.
[59:50] Yeah.
[59:51] grab it i can rip into it and just just keep chewing do you know what i mean like like chew through it and it will create a better version of you anyone who's not been through any struggle at all in life they get one little speed bump and they fall apart the more struggle you have the more shit you go through the better bigger stronger you become
[1:00:11] Yeah, it builds you as a person.
[1:00:12] And time is a big thing, just letting it, you know, pass by.
[1:00:17] Yeah.
[1:00:17] But I think it's okay to have those speed bumps along the way.
[1:00:22] You don't want it to be horrific, like, for your kids and your friends and for anyone.
[1:00:26] But you've got to, like, fail and fail forwards and fast, but pick yourself up and off you go.
[1:00:32] And then I'd say I'd add to that too, like...
[1:00:34] who you do business with and who you are friends with and associate with can absolutely make or break your life.
[1:00:43] Definitely.
[1:00:44] Absolutely make or so you'll be very careful who you do things for, who you don't do things, who you're friends with, who you work with.
[1:00:51] Because again, same thing, you can have a really good friend, you can have a really bad friend.
[1:00:56] I literally now, I just said, we don't fuck with nobody.
[1:00:59] We just, it's our family.
[1:01:01] And we consider our community, our family, and that's it.
[1:01:04] I never go out looking for new friends or new acquaintances.
[1:01:06] We just do our thing and happy days.
[1:01:09] And we're busy as it is to worry about trying to be the cool kids or go hang out at the local cool place.
[1:01:15] So we're just fucking busy.
[1:01:17] And by the time we have kids, well, then we'll be busy worrying about that.
[1:01:20] Yeah, exactly.
[1:01:22] So we're just, yeah, the show goes on, you just do your thing.
[1:01:25] But for anyone, and even for you guys, as you go through your life, you're young, you're going to experience those things.
[1:01:30] you just never let them break you yeah you never let them break you correct like you talk through it you work through it you you just you just attack it head on and actually lou says this all the time he says after every horrific storm there's usually a rainbow
[1:01:45] Yeah.
[1:01:46] I like that.
[1:01:47] I like it.
[1:01:47] And he says, there's not a rainbow.
[1:01:49] You know, there's like a big Queensland storm.
[1:01:52] And then all of a sudden it disappears after 16 minutes and the sun comes out.
[1:01:56] Yeah.
[1:01:56] And you see that beautiful steam off the road and the sky clears.
[1:01:59] He says, after every storm, it's usually quite green and clean.
[1:02:03] And it's like...
[1:02:04] you're right, Lou, you know what I mean?
[1:02:06] But you gotta get through it.
[1:02:07] You gotta weather the storm.
[1:02:08] So I just always say, and for yourselves, everyone, just stay strong, commit to each other, push through it.
[1:02:15] Next thing you know, you're like, oh, that was good.
[1:02:17] I'll forget onto the next thing.
[1:02:19] And then 10 years later, like, oh, fuck this shit, right?
[1:02:22] There's always something going, whether it's family or friends or business or the economy.
[1:02:28] There's so much going on in the world.
[1:02:30] Life goes on.
[1:02:31] You just got to remember that you can't stop and stick your head in the sand.
[1:02:34] You just got to push on.
[1:02:36] And you can't be looking at social media for everything because what's in the media is not always correct.
[1:02:41] Oh, fuck no.
[1:02:43] I try really hard to just, I mean, we've got a team that manages it now.
[1:02:46] So we have day shift, night shift.
[1:02:48] And we just have a philosophy now.
[1:02:49] If somebody's negative on it, they're never going to be a client and they don't deserve free information.
[1:02:54] So we just block.
[1:02:56] Perfect.
[1:02:56] And it's amazing.
[1:02:57] We still get hundreds of thousands of followers.
[1:02:59] We just block.
[1:02:59] Yeah.
[1:03:00] If someone's like, that's a load of bullshit, block.
[1:03:02] Because your opinion doesn't matter to our community.
[1:03:05] You're too ignorant to learn.
[1:03:07] Look.
[1:03:08] And it's been the best thing we ever did.
[1:03:11] It's good.
[1:03:12] We don't have time for negativity.
[1:03:14] And nobody does.
[1:03:15] It's a waste of your time and energy commenting back to them.
[1:03:18] Every now and then I lose my shit.
[1:03:21] One in one, how do you say, I'm like, righto, teddy pants 83 or something.
[1:03:26] And then I'm like, ah, fucking what a waste of time.
[1:03:29] Like to think that you're going to go worry about some idiot or flop on social media that you're never going to meet.
[1:03:36] They don't actually know you as a human being.
[1:03:39] Why spend that time away from your family and friends?
[1:03:42] Exactly.
[1:03:42] Doesn't make sense.
[1:03:43] Gary Vee talks about it all the time.
[1:03:44] He's like, don't worry about Sally Pants 77. Who knows?
[1:03:48] Sally Pants could be a fucking grown-ass man.
[1:03:50] Who cares?
[1:03:51] So I think the world's too caught up in socials.
[1:03:53] I'm really waiting for the...
[1:03:56] what's the word for it?
[1:03:57] Not the apocalypse, but I'm really waiting for everyone to sort of, I think we're going to go through this period where everyone's going to maybe shun it for a while.
[1:04:03] If you're like, Oh no, I'm not on.
[1:04:04] So like they're going to de-so like social will become real social again.
[1:04:09] It's like, um, health now.
[1:04:11] schoolies every year, they're all going to gyms locally now.
[1:04:14] They're going to the beach.
[1:04:14] You know, they're not, they're not full on trolleys with piss and going, well, it's summer, but the world's sort of evolving now.
[1:04:20] And I find that really, really cool.
[1:04:22] Cause everything sort of goes full circle.
[1:04:23] Social's the big thing.
[1:04:25] You see when they're just obsessed in the metaverse.
[1:04:28] come back to the real world so i think there'll be a bit of a peer driven like nah no more of that that's crazy mind you now you put sunnies on with video cameras and goggles a lot of people living in the metaverse oh yeah but hopefully we all get back to the real world to what matters because it's all noise what matters is what's under the drift at your home that's it 100% yeah
[1:04:49] what else all right oh last one's just the funny 10 questions hip fire oh look out so we'll see how compatible we are oh you and me yeah take me to rem buy me a drink you never know all right so beach or country beach beach sweet sunrise or sunset sunrise oh okay airbnb or hotel hotel hotel

[1:05:20] Wine.
[1:05:20] Wine.
[1:05:22] Pizza or burgers?
[1:05:23] I think I know.
[1:05:23] Oh, that's- You're an Italian man, aren't you?

[1:05:54] Not?
[1:05:55] Are we compatible?
[1:05:56] We're 50%.
[1:05:56] Oh.
[1:05:57] It's okay.
[1:05:58] Bec's safe.
[1:06:01] She's all right.
[1:06:01] She's good.
[1:06:03] You're a sunset kind of guy.
[1:06:05] Yeah, I don't mind the sunset.
[1:06:07] Sunrise is hard, especially in Queensland.
[1:06:09] It's so early.
[1:06:10] Oh, that's great.
[1:06:11] I know.
[1:06:12] I don't sleep well, so I'm like, oh.
[1:06:13] Well, there you go.
[1:06:14] You're already up.
[1:06:15] Yeah.
[1:06:16] There you go.
[1:06:17] That's a good one.
[1:06:18] Cool.
[1:06:19] Well done, guys.
[1:06:19] You should make sure you, I know some of it doesn't feel real yet, so make sure you really take the time every now and then to be like, shit, we are X ahead of our mortgage, or we are like really important, especially in a growing young family, really celebrate those wins because you're doing really bloody well.
[1:06:37] But now the challenge for you guys as a growing young family is to see through the strategy.
[1:06:44] Because as things change, bubs, et cetera, strategies will change.
[1:06:47] We'll have to change some things.
[1:06:48] But that's okay.
[1:06:49] That's what we're here for, right?
[1:06:50] It'll evolve.
[1:06:51] We'll alter it.
[1:06:52] We'll improve it.
[1:06:53] And off we go again.
[1:06:55] But future babies, we're probably going to plan.
[1:06:57] yep that's alright I'm gonna send you guys a TV as a Christmas present like it no rem that's it well done guys should be really proud and appreciate you being so honest and raw with everyone and showing your story thank you thank you thanks for having us you're fucking gone see ya
