They thought they were doing everything right, until they realised how much longer they'd be paying off their mortgage. This honest conversation follows the moment everything changed, from scepticism and uncertainty to a clear financial plan with a goal they never thought was possible. 👉 If this story resonates with you and you want to start setting yourself up for financial freedom, it all starts with our free webinar: https://bit.ly/43V2jKN Before joining Infinity, Joanne and Ray had a family home, an investment property and money sitting in offset, but they still felt unsure whether they were making the most of their finances. While Joanne was ready to make a change, Ray wasn't convinced and questioned whether they needed help at all. After taking the leap, they discovered a strategy that completely changed the way they viewed money. Within their first 90 days they had already made significant progress on their mortgage, and for the first time could see a path to becoming debt free in under 10 years. If you've ever wondered whether you're doing enough with your money, their journey may answer a few of your own questions. #FinancialFreedom #Mortgage #PersonalFinance

## Transcript

[0:00] Looking back when you first found Infinity, do you wish you had done it sooner?
[0:03] Yes.
[0:04] Definitely.
[0:05] Ray and Jo were doing most things right.
[0:08] Two incomes, an investment property and savings in their offset.
[0:12] But their long-term goals continued to be out of reach.
[0:16] They'd moved to Australia later in life.
[0:19] Super was low.
[0:20] Retirement felt precarious.
[0:22] And when Jo watched her mother need care, the question of what their own future looked like became impossible to ignore.
[0:29] Jo had followed infinity for years, but Ray took some convincing.
[0:34] Would we say Ray was a sceptic?
[0:36] Very much so, yes, I was.
[0:38] Right up to the moment they attended the masterclass.
[0:41] We negotiated what you were going to watch, how long you had to be on the screen for.
[0:44] One of the best things that really sold me was... And that was like, let's do it.
[0:49] Can we do it?
[0:51] In the first 90 days, their mortgage dropped, the budget held, and when Jo needed to fly to New Zealand at short notice for her mum, the money was there.
[1:01] Six months ago, that would have been a crisis.
[1:04] This is their first 90 days.
[1:11] Welcome back to the Money Mentor podcast.
[1:14] This is another episode of the first 90 days series, where we take a look back at where every infinity journey begins.
[1:21] Before the results came uncertainty, tough conversations, and the decision to build a different future.
[1:26] Today, we are joined by Ray and Joe.
[1:29] How are we guys?
[1:30] Good.
[1:30] Good.
[1:30] Thank you.
[1:31] How are we feeling?
[1:32] Ooh, a bit nervous.
[1:32] A bit nervous.
[1:33] Did you think it was a bit weird that we're already calling you up for a podcast?
[1:36] I was very nervous, yeah.
[1:37] Yes, and very weird.
[1:38] Yeah.
[1:38] This is all part of our new series, which is our 90 days series, where we want to talk to couples that have in the very, very first 90 days of their experience with us, just so we can get your point of view from the very beginning.
[1:49] And then we're going to come back and we're going to talk about how far you've actually come.
[1:53] So talk us through before infinity, though.
[1:55] I want to know where you started, where you were at in life financially, the family dynamics, everything.
[2:00] And what made you go, we've got to make a change here in our life?
[2:05] So we moved over from New Zealand about 15 years ago.
[2:09] We come over when our children were younger.
[2:10] They're now adult children.
[2:12] And we've always worked really hard.
[2:14] So we've had a great life for what we could.
[2:17] And I tend to do the finances.
[2:18] She does.
[2:19] So we've done quite well with what we could.
[2:21] But as the kids got older, I guess you get a bit of breathing space where they become a little bit more financially independent.
[2:27] Got a bit more mental head space to think about it.
[2:29] Yeah.
[2:30] And you can sort of see what happens now.
[2:33] And then you start seeing parents' age and how that's going to, I guess, be a burden financially.
[2:38] Yeah.
[2:38] Because that was a bit of a pivotal point for you, wasn't it?
[2:41] Yeah, definitely.
[2:42] I think you worry for them and you also worry for your children, what will happen when we get older.
[2:47] And I think I got to the end of what I could do with our finances.
[2:51] So really needed more advice, good advice from somebody with a good plan.
[2:57] Yeah, because where were you at?
[2:58] You had your home.
[2:59] You had one investment property.
[3:00] Yes.
[3:00] What was your home loan balance?
[3:02] So our home loan balance was really high.
[3:03] So we were sitting about 580, I think, at that stage.
[3:07] And we had an investment property as well.
[3:09] We really like where we are, so we want to stay in our current home, which is good.
[3:14] We just needed to figure out how to get that balance down.
[3:17] Yeah.
[3:17] And we had the investment property...
[3:20] which we sort of had done for the children.
[3:22] So we really wanted to keep that as well.
[3:24] We wanted to keep that as part of the strategy, whatever that looked like.
[3:28] So you already had the mindset.
[3:29] You're like, we've got to do something for the kids.
[3:31] We've got to pay this home down.
[3:32] This is going to be the forever home.
[3:34] So talk to me about how you found Infinity.
[3:37] Um, we've been, or I've been watching online for a long time.
[3:41] What's a long time?
[3:43] Probably, probably about a year and a half.
[3:45] A long time.
[3:47] I've been watching podcasts and certain people and following them as well.
[3:51] I've got mutual friends through Facebook.
[3:52] So we've sort of been watching Casey and Lenny's journey as well.
[3:56] Oh, I love that.
[3:57] So that was kind of good to see.
[3:58] And I guess because it was so consistent what they were doing and the results they were getting, I just sort of went, well, I really want to do this.
[4:06] Um, I did the webinar twice, um, couldn't figure out how to get Ray on board because I wasn't sure how he'd go with it.
[4:14] So would we say Ray was a skeptic?
[4:16] Very much so.
[4:17] Yes, I was.
[4:18] Why were you a skeptic?
[4:20] Well, I guess I was comfortable in where we were at.
[4:25] As Joe mentioned, I didn't think we had any real issues.
[4:29] My background is a lot different to Joe's.
[4:33] When I grew up, when I grew up, it was terrible.
[4:36] Like my environment was not good.
[4:38] So money was always an issue for me growing up because we didn't have it.
[4:42] Yeah.
[4:42] So I was basically poor, like Lenny was.
[4:45] Where's Lenny?
[4:46] Yeah.
[4:47] He knows.
[4:47] Very relatable, yeah.
[4:49] Yeah, we're both from the same neighbourhood.
[4:51] So when I sort of became an adult and still didn't understand money, that also became an issue because I just pretty much spent as soon as I got it.
[5:00] I married a wonderful woman that knew numbers.
[5:03] So ever since then, I've always left it to her to really take care of that part of it.
[5:08] So when she started talking about this stuff and I was like,
[5:12] What?
[5:13] He's infinity.
[5:14] What are they?
[5:15] So it's always a sceptic.
[5:16] We're okay.
[5:16] What do we need them for?
[5:17] Why are you going to hand everything over to them?
[5:19] Yeah, I know.
[5:20] Exactly.
[5:20] I was like, what's going on?
[5:22] I'm used to being poor.
[5:23] I'll already be poor again.
[5:25] But she's always been in charge of the finances.
[5:28] So I've always trusted her.
[5:30] So when it came to this, I was a bit sceptic about the whole thing.
[5:34] But then she told me to watch the videos and look at some of the stuff.
[5:37] And she goes, what did you make me do, Dad?
[5:40] masterclass?
[5:41] Oh, the masterclass.
[5:41] I sort of bullied him into the masterclass.
[5:43] She did.
[5:44] We negotiated, didn't we?
[5:46] Yeah.
[5:46] What you were going to watch, what you weren't, how long you had to be on the screen for.
[5:49] Yes, ma'am.
[5:50] Because it was a two full day masterclass.
[5:52] She's gone from, what, an hour webinar?
[5:54] I loved it, but Ray was like, oh.
[5:56] What do I need two days for?
[5:57] Can we go to the gym?
[5:57] Just like a half an hour?
[5:58] Just tell me.
[5:59] I'll decide.
[6:00] Anyway.
[6:01] But one of the best things that really sort of sold me was when I heard G. He started swearing.
[6:07] I went, this dude's swearing his head off.
[6:09] I went, yeah.
[6:10] And I like him already.
[6:11] So that kind of triggered everything else and made me feel a bit more at ease before I came.
[6:16] A bit more down to earth.
[6:18] Yeah.
[6:18] It was a way you could understand it.
[6:19] Absolutely.
[6:20] Yeah.
[6:20] So, and then obviously finding out Gia and his background too, so similar to my upbringing.
[6:26] So all that stuff sort of came together and I was less sceptic but still wanted more details.
[6:32] Yeah.
[6:33] Yeah.
[6:33] Okay.
[6:34] So you'd found us about 18 months prior.
[6:36] You'd watched the webinar.
[6:37] Do you remember what month you'd watched the webinar, finally the last time you watched it?
[6:42] Maybe October of last year.
[6:43] Last year.
[6:43] Okay.
[6:44] And then you didn't get to the master class until about January, February.
[6:47] No.
[6:47] Yeah.
[6:48] I think for me –
[6:50] And I think the, it sounds so silly, but because you have to invest in it financially, I think, I guess I was concerned again because I'm a child to the finances.
[6:58] If I invested in it financially and then it went wrong, then it would be like, oh.
[7:01] You felt like that weight was on your shoulders.
[7:03] Yeah, and I had to get him to watch it instead of the pressure of doing all of that.
[7:07] It wasn't that dramatic.
[7:07] And it was the same.
[7:08] Exactly the same at the end of the masterclass.
[7:10] Again, it's not that it's so much money because you totally know that that investment will pay off, but it's still you're actually committing to it financially.
[7:18] So it's just that step of taking the step and doing it.
[7:21] Well, it's still $1,500, isn't it?
[7:23] Yeah, definitely.
[7:24] If you're enjoying this story and want to set yourself up for financial freedom as well, it all starts with our free 45-minute educational webinar.
[7:33] Click the link below this video to begin your journey today.
[7:37] So you finally talked him around to it, though, and you sat the two days.
[7:41] Yes.
[7:41] Talk to me both.
[7:42] I want to know from both your perspective, the biggest light bulb moments during the masterclass when G and I were going through all the education.
[7:48] What was your biggest takeaways?
[7:51] I think the tax as a success fee is a really good, and I still constantly have that in my head because it's so easy to think, you know, I'm going to take all my expenses off, I'm going to get all tax return money back, blah, blah, blah.
[8:03] Whereas actually thinking, again, we need to earn better, be smarter with what we have, and therefore long-term, you know, it will pay off.
[8:11] I still constantly quote, you know, interest is calculated daily.
[8:14] It's my favourite saying, it's your worst, isn't it?
[8:17] I can't believe she's saying it again.
[8:19] But it's a new thing.
[8:20] You've picked up a new nugget.
[8:22] And just little things like that.
[8:23] They're just small day-to-day reminders of what we're doing and why.
[8:27] Yeah.
[8:29] Awesome.
[8:29] What about yourself?
[8:31] Besides the swearing, everything else, it was basically the opportunity to get our mortgage down quicker.
[8:40] Yeah.
[8:40] Even I, someone from me that's not very good with numbers, can understand what that means.
[8:47] Yeah.
[8:47] So I guess if you can convince someone who's basic with a mass one plus one like me.
[8:53] They're basic.
[8:53] Yeah.
[8:54] Well, it was for me.
[8:55] That's what got me.
[8:56] It's like, wow, I'm up.
[8:57] The calculators.
[8:58] The out-of-the-deck calculators.
[8:59] Absolutely.
[8:59] Yeah.
[9:00] To the best day.
[9:01] And then that was like, let's do it.
[9:02] I mean, that sounds – can we do it?
[9:04] I asked them, is this a thing?
[9:06] Well, let's get into this.
[9:08] And that's kind of what started rolling for me.
[9:10] Yeah.
[9:10] And the numbers don't lie.
[9:12] No, that's exactly right.
[9:13] And they were your numbers.
[9:14] Yeah.
[9:14] Absolutely.
[9:14] You got to crunch your own numbers.
[9:16] Yes.
[9:16] Yeah.
[9:16] Yeah.
[9:17] Do you remember what the result was on the masterclass, how quickly you could pay your home loan?
[9:20] I think we were sitting around about eight and a half years.
[9:24] Yeah.
[9:24] So that was amazing.
[9:25] That's a phenomenal result.
[9:27] That's huge.
[9:27] Yeah.
[9:28] Less than 10 years.
[9:29] Yes.
[9:29] You could pay out nearly $600,000 of bad debt.
[9:31] It's crazy.
[9:32] Yeah.
[9:33] It's amazing.
[9:34] So awesome.
[9:35] So obviously that all landed with you guys.
[9:38] You've then signed up.
[9:40] Yes.
[9:40] To take a bit of convincing, how did that conversation go down?
[9:43] Did you?
[9:44] Yeah.
[9:45] I had already done lots of research.
[9:48] I think everybody researches before they come into it.
[9:50] And I think most people research the success stories, but I could see they were obviously there.
[9:54] I went the other way and researched some of the people who got declined.
[9:57] And it was really reassuring to know that...
[10:01] even though they hadn't been accepted, they still had a strategy for what they could do.
[10:05] They all got their money back.
[10:06] It just was a really honest system.
[10:09] And I really liked that.
[10:10] So I was okay with that.
[10:12] I also sort of knew in advance how much it was going to cost.
[10:14] So I'd sort of been gearing up to it, you know, sort of during the weekend.
[10:19] And I think it's good because you only have a short time to decide.
[10:21] So I basically just said, I think we should do it.
[10:24] Yeah.
[10:24] And Ray was like, okay.
[10:26] I trust you.
[10:26] And I was like, oh, my God, please let it work.
[10:28] And just jump, oh, you've got your money back guarantee and all that.
[10:31] And like you said, we've got a very honest system of how we manage that process.
[10:35] Okay.
[10:35] So we've done it.
[10:36] We've signed up.
[10:37] Talk me through what that first 90-day journey has looked like for both of you and how it has felt so far.
[10:44] For me, it's been very slow.
[10:45] I think when I decided I wanted to do it, so we were back, you know, January, we did the masterclass.
[10:52] Our daughter's on our strategy as well.
[10:54] Because she's on the title of your company.
[10:56] She is.
[10:56] Yeah, she is.
[10:57] And so she had to do the masterclass as well, which, again, is such a great principle because she was committing to moving forward.
[11:04] Because we need her on board too.
[11:06] We want to make sure everybody's very across exactly what we do.
[11:10] Every single person's invested and we're doing the right thing for us.
[11:12] everyone.
[11:12] Yeah.
[11:12] So really transparent, which I love, but we had to wait till April for that.
[11:16] So that took forever to come.
[11:18] And then she did that.
[11:19] And then basically by the time we got everything underway strategy wise, we really didn't end up, we changed banks in May.
[11:26] So we've only just been underway there.
[11:27] Having said that, we were already quite good with budgeting.
[11:31] It was just a matter of tidying everything up, getting the process in place, getting the right names, which we change constantly from...
[11:38] From, yeah, FFF is obviously the official one, but it changes names all the time.
[11:43] But so getting all that set up so it matches the strategy.
[11:47] Yeah.
[11:47] Did you start implementing an FFF before you were officially able to do it with us?
[11:52] Yes.
[11:52] We sort of already had that in place.
[11:54] Yeah.
[11:55] But we just did it more.
[11:57] Ray didn't know what it was for a while.
[11:58] He was just like, oh, why is the problem?
[12:01] Why is that card not working?
[12:02] Why can't I spend that money?
[12:03] Why are you saying no?
[12:04] I could spend it two weeks ago.
[12:06] What happened?
[12:07] One month ago I could spend that.
[12:08] What's happening?
[12:09] He's like, I'm sure there was money in that account last week.
[12:11] Yeah, like, blank.
[12:12] Yeah, so we were sort of doing that.
[12:14] So it actually hasn't been a huge change for us.
[12:17] It's just different structure.
[12:19] Yeah.
[12:20] And then long-term, obviously, we've got quite a few areas we can tweak more.
[12:23] So the FFF will be a work in progress to come down, but we're just adjusting.
[12:28] Yeah, because what's your FFF at the moment?
[12:31] $750.
[12:31] And how many is that supporting?
[12:33] So we've only got the 12 of us, but we've also got an adult son at home, so sort of two and a half.
[12:37] Yeah.
[12:38] And then obviously with our daughter, who's also financially self-sufficient, tends to support her a little bit as well, just with various costs.
[12:45] Yeah.
[12:46] Is that quite important to you to be able to still do that for your kids?
[12:49] It really is.
[12:50] We're family first all the time as well.
[12:53] Sarah's got a medical thing, which means it's not, it just means long-term medical costs for her forever.
[13:02] So we really want to make sure that she's never in a position where she has to decide between, you know, sort of medication or, you know, I guess housing or anything like that.
[13:10] Yeah.
[13:10] So keeping on.
[13:10] all that together.
[13:11] That's very understandable because sometimes that's the reality for some people.
[13:14] It is.
[13:14] And I don't, you know, not so much probably in Australia, but overseas you said a lot.
[13:19] And it's just something we don't want.
[13:20] I think as a female as well, there's times in your life where you're really financially vulnerable as a female.
[13:27] And I sort of, again, I don't want that for our daughter.
[13:29] I want to make sure that she's always, always has choices in her life.
[13:32] Yeah.
[13:32] Yeah.
[13:33] So they're your why.
[13:35] Yeah.
[13:35] Yeah.
[13:36] Oh, yeah, yeah.
[13:36] They are.
[13:37] Sure.
[13:38] They turn out their mind.
[13:39] Are you still thinking about what he can't spend?
[13:40] I know.
[13:41] I'm still thinking about the last conversation.
[13:42] Where's that money gone?
[13:44] I can't.
[13:44] I had $500.
[13:45] It's gone.
[13:46] Yeah.
[13:46] And how has the FFF felt so far?
[13:49] I know we're still wading the waters a little bit, but has it felt like we've got a bit more structure?
[13:54] Yeah.
[13:54] Yeah, it's really manageable.
[13:55] We've got a lot of just life happening at the moment.
[13:58] So even with that, it's really good working within that.
[14:01] We can see we've managed to do two sweeps, which has been really good.
[14:05] And what have they looked like?
[14:07] What have you done in your first two sweeps?
[14:09] I can't even remember.
[14:10] I sort of just sweep it and move on.
[14:11] I feel like one was around the $5,000 and I think the last month was about $11,000.
[14:16] Wow.
[14:16] That's where their money's gone.
[14:19] Don't tell Ray.
[14:20] Yeah.
[14:21] It's all coming out.
[14:22] It's going to the home loan, the first one.
[14:25] But $16,000 in two sweeps.
[14:27] Do you remember how much you were paying off the home loan in one year prior before you worked for the Infini?
[14:31] We sort of have been in the mood fairly recently, so I haven't really probably tracked it enough to do it.
[14:36] But we definitely did have extra.
[14:37] I think we had quite a bit.
[14:38] Sitting in an offset, we had about $70,000.
[14:39] Because on about $580,000, you wouldn't even have done $10,000 the year before.
[14:43] Yeah.
[14:45] In principle.
[14:45] Big difference.
[14:46] And you've just done $16,000 in two sweeps.
[14:47] Yeah.
[14:48] How does that make you feel?
[14:49] Oh, so good.
[14:51] So good.
[14:51] Because then, you know, let's think about that on a compounding level when we start to do it every single month from here and over the couple of years.
[14:57] You're starting to actually see that that less than eight-year goal is realistic?
[15:01] Definitely, yeah.
[15:02] Yeah.
[15:03] That's absolutely insane.
[15:04] Now what else?
[15:05] What else are we doing as part of your strategy?
[15:08] We have bought an investment property.
[15:10] So we did that at REM.
[15:11] So we've added to the portfolio.
[15:12] We have.
[15:14] So that was exciting too.
[15:15] Didn't really know what to expect.
[15:17] Wouldn't have even been something we would have looked at before because it's in Melbourne.
[15:22] But we're really excited for that too.
[15:24] So to see how that works and just really focusing on what we're doing just one step at a time in front of us, kind of hoping to get the FFUs just like sit and forget.
[15:35] Yeah, yeah.
[15:36] A bit like your sweeps.
[15:37] You were like, oh, I've already forgotten what happened.
[15:39] Move on.
[15:39] What's in front of us now?
[15:40] Yeah.
[15:41] Yeah, but it takes a lot of weight off the shoulders to just know.
[15:44] We're paying the home loan down.
[15:45] We don't have to overanalyse our money too much.
[15:48] You look like you're still kind of going, where have those beers gone?
[15:52] I'm just keeping quiet.
[15:55] And talk to me about REM.
[15:56] What was REM like for you guys?
[15:58] That was so good, wasn't it?
[15:59] That was so good.
[16:00] Thank you so much, G. That was awesome.
[16:01] Yeah, it was.
[16:02] It was really amazing.
[16:03] We took Sarah with us as well.
[16:06] And it was so good for her because I think we'd experienced a little bit more, you know, with the meetings and things like that beforehand, but she'd really only done the masterclass.
[16:15] So it really opened her eyes to what's out there and what's possible and a really good community of people.
[16:21] So I'm excited to see hopefully she runs with it herself as well.
[16:25] That's the plan really is to let what we're doing become a part of her life, her budgeting, get her triple F's up.
[16:33] Whatever she wants to do, she can see that.
[16:35] And Rem definitely helped that by seeing what everyone else is doing, hearing the stories from people, some amazing stories.
[16:41] Do you like the testimonials?
[16:43] Yeah.
[16:43] You actually got to see them in the flesh on stage.
[16:46] Do you meet Lenny?
[16:47] Lenny was our best man like 25 years ago.
[16:51] We have videos of Lenny dancing with our daughter when she was a baby.
[16:54] Wait, wait, wait.
[16:54] We're that close to – We are.
[16:56] I didn't realise it was like we're that close to Casey and Lenny.
[16:59] Yeah, so we only met Casey – I met her a couple of years ago through a gym thing actually.
[17:04] Oh, wow.
[17:04] When they were together.
[17:05] But, yeah, so Lenny, many, many years ago in New Zealand was our best man.
[17:08] And we sort of lost touch over the years.
[17:10] Because he moved here, yeah, and we were still in New Zealand.
[17:14] Yeah.
[17:14] But, yeah, so that's how we – and like I said, Lenny's from my neighbourhood, so we grew up in the same sort of – And Ray didn't know he was going to be at REM.
[17:21] No.
[17:22] Because I didn't tell him.
[17:23] Because I wasn't sure.
[17:23] And I just – I don't want to be a stalker either.
[17:25] I didn't want to make a fuss.
[17:26] But it was really nice they got to catch up together.
[17:29] Who's that old guy?
[17:30] I know that guy.
[17:30] And that – yeah.
[17:31] Oh, that's so cool.
[17:32] Was that a bit of a surprise reunion for you both?
[17:35] Yeah, it was.
[17:35] It was awesome.
[17:36] Yeah, it was awesome.
[17:37] Oh, that's really cool.
[17:38] Yeah.
[17:38] And do you have any other takeaways from REM?
[17:41] I think just follow the path.
[17:43] Yeah.
[17:44] Sometimes we just don't know what we're doing or why.
[17:47] I overanalyse everything.
[17:48] So the strategies, I've got so many questions about everything.
[17:51] But, again, just following the process.
[17:53] Yeah.
[17:54] And then that way everything will just turn out at the end.
[17:56] I really enjoyed Doc's presentation.
[17:58] Yeah.
[17:58] That was so cool.
[17:59] And you're telling him, come on.
[17:59] I was like, oh, there's more stuff.
[18:01] Oh, and I have to wrangle him in.
[18:02] Yeah, I was like, he's trying to hurry up.
[18:04] And I was like, oh, I like that.
[18:05] That makes sense.
[18:06] That makes sense.
[18:06] So, yeah.
[18:07] Because I want to get to the bloody Q&A because I'm like, that's where you're really going to shine.
[18:11] Like, he's just incredible with Q&A.
[18:13] I'm like, come on, let's give him as much Q&A as possible.
[18:16] Yeah.
[18:17] Awesome.
[18:17] What does the future look like?
[18:19] Where are we hoping to go?
[18:20] How are we feeling like the future looks like for us?
[18:24] Really good.
[18:26] I think just in so many ways.
[18:29] I worry.
[18:30] I just overthink everything.
[18:31] She does.
[18:32] And so I worry a lot.
[18:33] So I think finance is always something I've been weary of.
[18:36] and just worried what does that look like for us as we age and definitely with my mum you're also looking at the cost of care and things like that again it's just a constant you're constantly looking forward what does it mean, what happens, what if but just the fact that we just don't have to worry about that now it's just it's so good and for our kids as well to know that they're going to be okay no matter what happens with the government or what happens with anything else which is a big topic of conversation at the moment yeah absolutely and you can't plan for any of
[19:06] that.
[19:06] So you can only take care of your own situation.
[19:09] Control your controllables.
[19:10] Yes.
[19:10] Yeah.
[19:11] That's what I keep trying to tell people because everybody's so nervous about what's going on with the government right now.
[19:15] I'm like, all you can do is control what you can control.
[19:18] Definitely.
[19:18] Yeah.
[19:19] Yeah.
[19:19] Does it feel lighter?
[19:21] It does for me.
[19:23] Ray's really encouraging about it.
[19:26] He just rolls with anything.
[19:27] He's so good like that.
[19:28] I do.
[19:29] For me, it does.
[19:30] I think, again, like I said, we've got a lot of sort of life things happening at the moment.
[19:33] So I've got lots of trips in New Zealand, things like that.
[19:36] But just even knowing, knowing you don't have to worry about it.
[19:39] Whereas I would have been really concerned with the costs and the ongoing situation.
[19:43] But I don't have to worry about it now.
[19:44] I can worry about the personal side, but not the financial side.
[19:47] Yeah.
[19:47] And do you talk more about finances together?
[19:49] We do.
[19:50] Yeah.
[19:51] I hate talking, but he's just glazing over.
[19:53] Yeah.
[19:54] Because I ask questions.
[19:55] Oh, what happened?
[19:56] How do we do this?
[19:57] How do we do that?
[19:58] How's that?
[19:59] It's just a lot of these little questions that if I've listened to the masterclass more intensively, you probably would have answered it then.
[20:06] But yeah, it's good.
[20:07] And because she's so good.
[20:10] with the numbers um and she's been in charge of our finances for so many years and i like i said i've trusted with everything i've trusted in my life so it was great that she was like oh yeah did one one one one plus one is two and i oh perfect and i just then i like she said i just roll with it and keep going but i like it because i feel like i i don't mind doing the finances at all but sometimes you feel like it's burden because you feel like you're doing it by yourself we've been the bad guy
[20:36] saying you can't spend money or you can't fly out to grand finals.
[20:38] You're just betting G for everything now.
[20:40] You can pass it on to the G-meister.
[20:43] But I feel like we talk about it more now, so it's more joint decisions, it's more of us making decisions, so therefore we are more accountable with it.
[20:52] And if we both decide, no, it takes pressure off me, which is good, because finances can be a big deal in relationships all the time.
[21:00] Yeah, no, it's a huge part of our lives, right?
[21:02] And it's one of the reasons, main reasons why people get divorced too.
[21:05] It is, absolutely.
[21:06] Really?
[21:06] Yeah.
[21:07] Yeah.
[21:07] Okay.
[21:07] So you're lucky.
[21:09] Am I missing something?
[21:10] Because I should have been, should we be divorced?
[21:12] We've been together for 30 years.
[21:13] So let's do, okay.
[21:15] I didn't know that.
[21:15] You married a good woman.
[21:17] I did actually 30 years.
[21:18] That's good.
[21:18] Perfect.
[21:20] Good innings there.
[21:20] Yes, ma'am.
[21:21] Looking back though, when you first found Infinity and you finally took the plunge to trust us, do you wish you had have done it sooner?
[21:27] Yes.
[21:28] Definitely.
[21:29] Yeah.
[21:29] And we looked at so, or I looked at so many different avenues, not knowing what to do.
[21:34] But every time you look at financial advisors or anything else, it just opens more questions because they're so narrow in their vision of what they'll give to you.
[21:44] Yeah.
[21:44] Whereas infinity just does.
[21:45] They're very holistic.
[21:46] Yes.
[21:47] And that's really what people like us, normal people need because we don't know how to do all those things.
[21:53] Yeah.
[21:54] Awesome, guys.
[21:54] Thank you so much for coming in and sharing your first 90 days with us.
[21:58] We'll definitely be meeting again soon in the future to look back at how far you've come.
[22:02] We'll see a follow-up, is there?
[22:03] There will be.
[22:04] Oh, my gosh.
[22:04] All right.
[22:05] So really got to stick to the strategy.
[22:06] Yes, ma'am.
[22:07] I'll have to do, yeah.
[22:08] Stop complaining.
[22:08] Yeah, got it.
[22:09] Thanks, guys.
[22:10] Thanks, Rachel.
