## Transcript

[0:00] What else have you learned along the way?
[0:02] Budget.
[0:03] Budget?
[0:03] I think that's a huge... You'll find money you didn't know you had.
[0:06] Yeah.
[0:07] And that then creates a monster that you can then use for your... Is it safe to say that anyone listening to this evening or so before think budget means scarcity, diet... Oh, yeah.
[0:20] You're not getting beer.
[0:21] We all think it's a bad word, right?
[0:22] Yeah, yeah.
[0:23] But isn't it the opposite?
[0:24] Yeah.
[0:24] Isn't it this many cases of beer, this much takeaway, isn't it actually planning your money?
[0:30] Yeah.
[0:30] changing your whole structure.
[0:33] And the relationship too, I think.
[0:34] With our, like, Trace and I have been together 20-something years and, I don't know, like, since we've been doing this sort of stuff, we've just talked, talked, talked about money.
[0:42] You talk about it being sex.
[0:43] Stronger relationship.
[0:44] Yeah, that's right.
[0:45] It just makes you stronger together and whatever we do now, we do it together.
[0:49] Money isn't rude of all evil, the fucking lack of it is.
[0:51] Not money, the lack of understanding money.
[0:54] When I put that into emphasis, when I realise that psychological effect and how it hit our family, I have to be in the fucking way.
[1:00] You are now watching the Money Mentor Podcast with Graham Hime.
[1:04] Graham Hime.
[1:05] Graham Hime.
[1:06] Graham Hime.
[1:11] Welcome back to The Money Mentor and another episode of Changing Lives Financially.
[1:16] And this morning we have for today's episode two very, very special guests.
[1:21] Good morning, Tracey and Brett.
[1:23] How are we?
[1:23] Hello.
[1:23] We are well.
[1:24] How are you?
[1:25] I can't complain because no one listens.
[1:28] So I'm good.
[1:28] I'm great.
[1:28] That's the game.
[1:29] But I'm not as good as you two.
[1:31] What's going on?
[1:31] Are you in a bodybuilding competition or something?
[1:34] Well, yeah, we did your 60 strong.
[1:37] And I'm proud to say that I am the winner of the female competition.
[1:42] Congratulations.
[1:43] Brett, however, is just a runner-up.
[1:46] Just a runner-up.
[1:48] Just move on now.
[1:49] Nobody remembers second G, but one of us got the bison.
[1:53] Got the gong.
[1:54] Well, let's talk to that for a second because you look great.
[1:56] Thank you.
[1:57] You're glowing and smiling and look mean and fit and lean and mean.
[2:03] Let's talk weight for a second.
[2:04] How much weight did you each lose?
[2:07] I lost 8.5 kilos.
[2:09] Wow.
[2:10] In eight weeks.
[2:11] Yeah.
[2:13] We went headstrong.
[2:16] We just decided that it was all time to do something for our health.
[2:21] We didn't know what it was going to be like.
[2:25] No.
[2:25] We live on a farm.
[2:26] Yeah.
[2:26] So walking 10,000 steps is a huge feat.
[2:30] Especially if your feet get stuck in a cow pat.
[2:33] Correct.
[2:33] Correct.
[2:35] And we're just constantly in boots as opposed to joggers or, you know, the correct type of footwear.
[2:42] We had rain, hail, mist, every single possible weather solution that, you know, we could think about.
[2:50] It's a bit tougher than going for a stroll.
[2:52] Yeah, down the beach, just along some type of boardwalk would have been lovely.
[2:55] Yeah, 90% of that was done in gumboots, as we've seen before.
[2:58] Geez, that would be some blisters.
[2:59] Gumboots.
[3:00] Just gumboots and wet weather pants.
[3:02] Yeah.
[3:02] Wow.
[3:02] And we were carving at the time.
[3:04] And so we'd walk every day and check the calves.
[3:06] And we had like 400 cows carving down.
[3:09] Wow.
[3:11] So we'd had 10,000 steps majority time up by 7 o'clock in the morning.
[3:14] Yeah.
[3:14] Okay.
[3:14] So steps are done.
[3:15] Done and dusted.
[3:16] And then you're in the home gym, gym, gym.
[3:19] Gym.
[3:20] evolution yeah just in the gym every day is where we've been going and we're still there now so that's kind of been another great option that we've had learning to go back to the gym every day doing the strength program every night nick was fantastic it's you know he was uh very accommodating you know in menopause you just don't know what type of things i did hear that yeah i
[3:46] But yeah, things are a little different when you're at this age.
[3:50] I'm a little older than Brett, but you're kind of just adjusted.
[3:54] Oh, boy.
[4:01] You adjust to what type of exercise routine works for you.
[4:06] And Nick was able to do that for me, especially, you know, hot flushes and things.
[4:10] And eight and a half kilos and going through all those bodily chains, that's great.
[4:15] Yeah.
[4:15] Well, now I need to spend my money on a new wardrobe.
[4:18] I was going to say that the downfall is a new wardrobe.
[4:21] Yeah, 100%.
[4:22] A couple of sizes.
[4:23] But talk about, okay, so eight and a half kilos.
[4:25] Yeah.
[4:26] 15.3.
[4:26] 15.3.
[4:27] Yeah.
[4:27] I can remember when I done my original weigh-in day, like we had to get our body scans done.
[4:35] Body scan, yeah.
[4:36] And then I went back to the same place as we had to at the last day.
[4:39] Yeah.
[4:39] You didn't check it in between?
[4:41] No.
[4:41] Oh, mate, we just got on scales every now and then.
[4:43] But our scales, we end up buying another set who came up because one was saying one, one was saying the other.
[4:48] And I said, chuck them bastards out the window.
[4:50] This is bullshit.
[4:52] So we've done our last body scan and an old mate's done it for me and he just got the calculator out straight away.
[4:57] He stared at me and he looked at me and he goes, This is not possible.
[4:59] You got it done here, didn't you?
[5:00] I said, yeah, this is a piece of paper.
[5:01] And he looked at me and went, 15.3.
[5:05] Are you like mentally drained?
[5:07] Are you?
[5:07] Are you hungry?
[5:09] Are you hungry?
[5:12] Have you ate in 60 days?
[5:14] I said, I have, mate.
[5:15] I've done everything.
[5:16] Yeah.
[5:17] He said, I have never, ever seen someone lose so much weight so quick.
[5:21] Wow.
[5:22] I said, yeah, I feel 100%, mate.
[5:24] Get out of bed 4 o'clock every morning.
[5:25] Yeah.
[5:26] Do our stuff, do our jobs.
[5:28] He did push me.
[5:29] Like, he's fantastic.
[5:31] He's my, you know, he's my rock regardless.
[5:33] Tell me then, so for those who are not part of our community, 60 Strong is a –
[5:39] It's a mental, more of a mental challenge than it is a physical.
[5:42] There's physical aspects, but it's more mental.
[5:44] Can I talk to you about that bit?
[5:46] Because part of it was like a 30-minute personal development.
[5:49] Personal development.
[5:51] And I think, you know, we've had a few little issues and I've kind of felt a bit, you know, unsure of things over the last couple of months.
[6:01] Yeah.
[6:02] And...
[6:04] Doing that cleared my mind and putting myself into the 60 Strong kind of gave me mental clarity.
[6:13] Yeah.
[6:13] If that's a possible, you know.
[6:15] Well, it's designed that way to hopefully do that, whether it's read a book, whether it's listen to a podcast.
[6:23] Most people will listen to a podcast, right?
[6:25] And you get to pick.
[6:26] As long as it's personal development, you might want to learn a language for 30 minutes a day.
[6:31] Yeah.
[6:31] The whole intention is to get this right while you get everything else right because this is usually the problem.
[6:37] That happened to me.
[6:38] And that's when this sort of goes to shit, right?
[6:41] So that's the whole intention is to have the steps, you've got to get the steps, have the strength as well.
[6:47] Yes.
[6:48] So you're actually functioning and moving and your posture's right and all that sort of stuff again and joint positioning and nickel.
[6:54] Yeah, he's totally on to you.
[6:56] He looks like a transformer.
[6:58] I know.
[6:58] I don't understand You watch him on his Instagram page And he starts Pointing the finger At you and Becca He's doing it Becca and I You're sitting in the gym He's like Dorsimus latimus Fucking And then he's like If you weren't Posture as brokenness And I'm like Everything would be fine I look at Trace and go I don't know what I might say And I I send him some of the videos I'm like
[7:15] How about I do and you just move me around?
[7:18] And when you say good, I'll keep copying that.
[7:21] Yeah, I just don't have the brain capacity.
[7:24] I'm no bodybuilder, that's for sure.
[7:26] But yeah, the intention is to get the head right because if you get the head right and the mindset and the mentality, come on, off we go.
[7:34] Who cares?
[7:34] It's raining.
[7:35] Off we go, right?
[7:36] If you get that right...
[7:38] It's wild what you can achieve.
[7:40] Now, I'm great at that at business.
[7:42] Like, great.
[7:43] Like, doesn't matter who's saying what.
[7:46] What's going on?
[7:47] Everything's solvable.
[7:48] Right?
[7:48] Everything's solvable.
[7:49] Yeah, yeah.
[7:50] Done like that, undo it.
[7:51] Done like that, sell that.
[7:52] Like, anything can be fixed, right?
[7:54] Yeah.
[7:55] um whereas for us internally even for me for my health that's the thing i push to the side all the time until recently yeah you know it's been hard for me like we just did europe and this yeah i'm like eight nine kilos down because i've just stayed religiously on every day i keep my steps gone to the gym and it's starting to just starting to kick in and show now i feel better
[8:16] 100%.
[8:17] We're obviously out of it now, but we feel guilty if you don't get up in the morning and go to the gym now.
[8:22] It's just in your mind.
[8:24] Four o'clock, we do our gym three days a week.
[8:26] So beforehand, you just work?
[8:29] Just work, work, work, and then...
[8:31] I've used to be sedimentary, like yourself, kind of just work from home, remote working, to the kitchen, back.
[8:38] you know grazing all day it's the old story if you don't use it you lose it stuff's sore and it hurts keep walking every day at least yeah exactly we're very proud get those new wardrobes yeah well that's the way it's looking now put it in the budget yeah let's go to Vinnie's I think and just keep trying just go to the shop yeah
[8:58] So let's talk about you guys then.
[9:01] So health-wise, obviously look great, feel great.
[9:04] Just now got to maintain a lot of those habits if we can, and the eating clean and what.
[9:09] I started talking about if anyone's not sure, you can look up an app called 60 Strong.
[9:12] Perfect.
[9:12] Well, there's a podcast way, way, way back at the beginning of our money mentors years ago, like four, five years ago, talks about 60 Strong.
[9:20] But it's basically 10,000 steps a day, a 60-minute workout a day, like proper workout.
[9:26] Yes, absolutely.
[9:27] uh, three liters of water a day, 30 minutes of personal development and a predetermined amount of money daily.
[9:34] You physically have to get on and go, right, I'm going to put $5 off my credit card or $5 off my car.
[9:40] And it'll, it'll tell you, Hey, whatever the amount is in 60 days, you'll have saved or paid this much debt off.
[9:46] Which we did too.
[9:47] Which it's that little financial aspect and that daily habit of putting a focus on your money for five, six minutes.
[9:54] Yes.
[9:54] Just of moving some money and looking at the balance.
[9:56] And then you come out of your 60 days and then you don't even realise you've missed it.
[10:00] Yeah.
[10:00] And we're happy.
[10:01] You're not even looking for it.
[10:02] Yeah.
[10:02] That's right.
[10:03] So definitely check it out.
[10:04] If anyone's struggling at the moment, check it out.
[10:06] If you're part of our community, you know we run regular events of this and throw away thousands of dollars for people for prizes.
[10:12] So it will change your life.
[10:16] If you have a crack at it and you stick to it and see it through and keep any of the habits, it will...
[10:20] Very much helped.
[10:20] The only habit but the three litres of water, I'd pee like a pregnant woman all day.
[10:24] No alcohol too was the thing.
[10:25] No alcohol, sorry, yeah.
[10:27] And we haven't missed that at all.
[10:29] You know, we did have fun.
[10:31] I was a beer sort of man every day, you know, like going on to it.
[10:34] It's easy to talk yourself into habit or perceived habit.
[10:39] Like Australian cultures and a lot of families...
[10:41] You knock off work, straight to the pub, straight to the froth, you know.
[10:45] And I grew up like that, like back in my era growing up.
[10:47] That was everywhere in the house.
[10:49] It was like trade, if anyone worked, cash in hand in the house.
[10:51] I was like, you know, work.
[10:54] But it was like people were having a beer at two, three o'clock.
[10:56] You know, tradies worked hard.
[10:57] And it's interesting for me because it's like, oh, okay, like concrete is busting their guts in the sun or brickies or whatever.
[11:05] they're just tonguing to get that beer in the afternoon and then get on the punt and i'm like they work to like live not work to get on the piss and the punt each to their own but so talk financially um or give us a background for people don't know you guys where are we from how young we are what we do for work all that sort of stuff and financially you might as well tell them tracy
[11:28] So we're from the Southern Highlands in New South Wales.
[11:34] I'm a little older than Brett.
[11:37] We've got eight years between us.
[11:39] He's a bit grey.
[11:41] If he takes off the hat, he's fairly grey.
[11:44] He's hiding it well.
[11:45] Yeah.
[11:46] They're only as young as the man you feel.
[11:48] I know.
[11:48] And how great's that?
[11:50] Now he's a little bit skinnier too.
[11:52] You can get your arms around me now.
[11:54] Get a full hug now.
[11:57] No, so Brett's a farm manager and I work remotely for a company from WA.
[12:05] And we live on farm.
[12:08] So we currently don't actually have PPR anymore.
[12:12] So your role to work and operate the property, you get obviously accommodation provided.
[12:17] Yeah.
[12:18] So it's house, electricity.
[12:20] Fuel, vehicle.
[12:21] Fuel, internet, vehicle.
[12:22] So a really good package.
[12:26] Yeah.
[12:27] But the downside of that is, you know, we don't have a PPR.
[12:31] Yeah.
[12:32] So you don't get to hold that principal place of residence that has no capital gains tax.
[12:37] You don't have to carry any debt for it.
[12:39] Yeah.
[12:40] But you don't get that privilege, that one free kick the government give us of your own home being tax free as it grows.
[12:45] 100%.
[12:46] Yeah.
[12:46] That sucks.
[12:46] Yeah.
[12:47] Yes.
[12:47] So we did.
[12:48] It's in the back of your mind all the time.
[12:50] Yeah.
[12:50] Yeah.
[12:51] You know what I mean?
[12:51] Yeah.
[12:52] We have moved from WA.
[12:55] We moved there because our boys moved to WA for the mining.
[13:00] And we thought, well, eventually we'll have grandkids, et cetera.
[13:04] So best to be there.
[13:05] Yeah.
[13:07] Brett has, with his work, 24 dogs that he uses daily and with that he worked three sheep dog trialing so it's one of his passions.
[13:19] He spent the majority of the two years we stayed in WA travelling the Nullarbor back to dog trials here in New South Wales.
[13:27] Right, eight times in two years I've been going to do that.
[13:30] So the writing was on the wall.
[13:32] How long does that take?
[13:33] It was like 7,000 k's turnaround.
[13:34] Yeah.
[13:36] So it's like, yeah.
[13:37] With the dogs in the back because he's got to bring eight or ten dogs with me every time I'd come over to a trial.
[13:42] You'd knock off, what, 1,000 k's a day, 800?
[13:45] Yeah, you'd have to do that 1,100 k's a day.
[13:47] And sleep.
[13:48] To get across it and then get up four or five hours later and go again.
[13:50] So it'd take a week to get across.
[13:52] Yeah, a week over, a week back, a week there.
[13:54] So that's his passion.
[13:56] And he spent more time on this side on the East Coast than what he did on the West Coast.
[14:00] Right, right.
[14:02] We thought, well, let's sell our house and come back because we've been- So we did have a property in WA.
[14:08] Yes, we did.
[14:09] We did.
[14:09] It was 20 acres.
[14:11] Yep.
[14:11] We purchased it in 2022 for $5.50.
[14:13] Yep.
[14:13] And, you know, we sold for $7.20 12 months ago.
[14:17] Okay.
[14:25] So we got back and Brett then, you know, got his job where we are now.
[14:29] And, um, yeah, we moved back in January this year.
[14:33] So back, so in Southern Highlands, New South Wales now sold to had a home in WA sold that now running a property, get accommodation obviously in that, in that package.
[14:43] Yeah.
[14:44] um but don't get the privilege of keeping the home right so either keep it use the six-year rule sell it within that buy a new one not buy a new one but that sort of disappears in the next couple of years so we've made the decision to cut that yeah that's right okay what about um financial structures so how many bank accounts did we use did we have a budget what were we doing day-to-day financially as a couple in a household
[15:08] Tracy was mad on the accounts, mate.
[15:10] Yeah.
[15:11] I'll be honest, I'm not a money person.
[15:14] I had 15.
[15:15] 15?
[15:15] Yeah.
[15:16] She'd have as many accounts as he's got dogs.
[15:18] Yeah.
[15:19] $5 here, $10 there.
[15:21] And I was the sort of Aussie bloke that just, if I went to the shop, I didn't want to be one of those peanuts that sat there and it says declined.
[15:28] So I'd like just a carton of beer and go home and have me beers.
[15:33] Tracy always had the finances under control and I'd never ask the question.
[15:37] There was always money there, but I just had 15.
[15:40] Until we met Infinity and I went, holy Jesus.
[15:43] Yeah, I kind of watched the first webinar myself.
[15:47] So where did you find us?
[15:49] Ah, let me tell you the story.
[15:52] We put our house on the market in WA, sitting on the lounge around November, and a current affair pops up and there you were, Infinity at the Kmart Wishing Tree.
[16:04] They actually do good stories.
[16:07] When they called and said, hey, we'd love to do a story of the current affair.
[16:09] Isn't that the show?
[16:10] Usually people run away from them, right?
[16:12] But actually they do some great pieces as well, which was good for the wishing tree, obviously.
[16:19] Absolutely.
[16:19] It was good for that, yeah.
[16:20] And that's what I kind of – I said, wow, this is fantastic.
[16:23] This guy's from the Illawarra.
[16:25] Like, you know, that's where I grew up, what was born and raised.
[16:29] And so, you know, you did your story and I –
[16:34] What's this infinity do?
[16:35] I kind of Googled it straight away.
[16:37] Because we didn't really talk about what we do.
[16:39] No.
[16:40] And it was like, this is amazing.
[16:41] It was a bit weird.
[16:42] Because Kmart and the Selvers, they obviously want to promote and encourage everyone to drop a gift off every year.
[16:47] So they said, oh, could you do a media piece?
[16:49] You're one of our biggest supporters.
[16:51] I'm like, oh, whatever.
[16:53] So to me, in the hat and the T-shirt, it's like, yeah, just tell me what you want to know.
[16:56] I'll tell you everything.
[16:57] Because it's not like, you know, sometimes people do things for that, not shameless plug, but they're doing it for the media attention.
[17:07] So it's very awkward when I'm like, hey, we get to go in early and Kmart's closed, but they open early for us and all of that.
[17:12] But then there's cameras and there's this and it's like, we just want to come in and do the shop.
[17:15] I just want to buy all the bikes and the Nerf guns.
[17:17] You know what I mean?
[17:18] Nerf guns.
[17:20] Yeah, no.
[17:20] You were saying that on telly in November last year.
[17:23] Yeah, and our house was on the market and I said to Brett,
[17:26] oh, you know, this might work for us once we're back in over east, you know, like we, we have had some investment properties before, but we, you know, sold them and moved on and, you know, all that type of stuff.
[17:40] And I just said to Brett, you know, this might be worthwhile looking at when we're established on the other side of Australia and we know what we're doing.
[17:48] So the minute we got here, I thought, okay, now I'll put this into action.
[17:54] Right.
[17:54] I kind of felt we had to wait a three-month period because Brett's getting a new job and a probation time.
[18:00] So if we were going to be doing anything, we would need a little bit of skin in the game.
[18:04] Right.
[18:05] So I hung off a little and then I did the free webinar.
[18:12] I didn't know at this stage.
[18:13] Oh, yeah.
[18:13] He had no clue.
[18:14] So I did it.
[18:15] And as soon as you watched the free webinar, she went, oh, yeah, he's definitely from all along.
[18:20] Exactly right.
[18:22] And he was doing a big drive.
[18:24] And one of the podcasts that I'd actually looked at was Christine and Jeff.
[18:28] Oh, yep.
[18:29] They were clients.
[18:30] Now Christine works here.
[18:31] Correct.
[18:32] And Jeff's into panel beating and I used to run a panel shop and things like that.
[18:38] And he got sick or he had an accident from the podcast.
[18:43] Yeah.
[18:44] Brett had also had an incident where he was sick in 2016 and we really struggled.
[18:50] You know, he's 21 days in ICU.
[18:52] So we kind of were lucky to have him come out of it where we spent a lot of money while he was there, you know.
[18:59] Um, so they resonated with me because they are just normal people like we are.
[19:05] And I sent him the, um, link to the podcast and he was going in his car for the whole day for a big, big, long drive somewhere.
[19:14] Um.
[19:15] I said, oh, where are you going?
[19:16] Just listen to this podcast.
[19:17] You might find it, you know.
[19:19] And he rung me and I went, oh, how'd you go?
[19:23] Are you there?
[19:23] You know, I was really excited.
[19:25] And I thought, oh, he was really good.
[19:27] He must have been really happy with it.
[19:29] He didn't listen to it at all.
[19:30] He didn't listen to it at all because he had no service.
[19:33] And I didn't know.
[19:34] I didn't even have podcasts in that time.
[19:36] You know, he was just excited.
[19:37] I have a little secret.
[19:39] You can download them to the phone before you go.
[19:42] And even with no signal, you can listen to them.
[19:44] Well.
[19:45] That's kind of how the next little trick happened while he was in the shower.
[19:50] I actually like something of yours on his phone.
[19:54] So then I stalked him.
[19:55] So then the algorithm.
[19:56] I can never escape you, mate.
[19:57] Never.
[19:58] The algorithm started.
[20:00] I'll be like a fucking beer ad to you.
[20:03] The algorithm started pretty much straight after.
[20:05] Right.
[20:06] And he's going.
[20:08] I heard this guy.
[20:09] You know, have you seen this guy?
[20:12] Oh, show me.
[20:13] You know, and I was just being totally out of it.
[20:14] Oh, the old, it's our wine.
[20:16] Yeah.
[20:16] Oh, yeah, yeah.
[20:18] Hey, sweetheart.
[20:20] And I said, well, I did say, you know, we've kind of got that money.
[20:22] He goes, yeah, but that money is burning a hole in your pocket.
[20:24] You just, you know, because we ended up with some savings from the sale.
[20:29] Yeah.
[20:31] So, yeah, we could just kind of – I just planted the seed and you grew.
[20:35] Watered it and bit of sunlight.
[20:36] You grew.
[20:37] And you grew.
[20:38] I grew.
[20:39] And – I was scared.
[20:41] And I said, like Tracia said, I was – she said, I want to put this money into this.
[20:46] I said, I don't even know, old mate.
[20:49] I don't trust anyone on social media.
[20:52] And stop worrying about the money and just let it go.
[20:54] I like watching it every day.
[20:55] He likes it in his bag again.
[20:56] It was your safety net, right?
[20:57] Yeah.
[20:57] It's like you're right.
[20:58] And I did and Tracy actually put me a bank app on the phone and all and I never had that stuff and I looked at it every day and I would every day and go, oh, it's still there.
[21:07] It's still there.
[21:07] Something goes to shit, that money's there for the sale.
[21:09] Yeah, 100%.
[21:09] And that's what he kind of said to me, oh, well, I've got some friends coming next weekend and, you know, we're going to – I said, well, you better tell them to stop coming because we've got one whole weekend of a masterclass.
[21:19] Oh, fuck.
[21:20] Yeah.
[21:20] So you ended up just booking the masterclass?
[21:22] I did.
[21:23] I did.
[21:23] Right.
[21:23] And he's like, what are you talking about?
[21:24] And you've got mates coming around for a shindig and you're cancelling.
[21:27] So like you have to bullshit to them.
[21:28] You can't come.
[21:30] Sorry.
[21:31] The missus said no.
[21:33] I'm not really under the fun, but anyway.
[21:36] Yes, dear.
[21:38] So, yeah, so he said, you know what I think about school?
[21:42] He said, because he also had a teacher that said, Smith, you'll be a nobody.
[21:47] And I left school when I was 14.
[21:49] I could still remember.
[21:49] I heard that from my stepdad when mum remarried.
[21:52] Yeah.
[21:52] There you go.
[21:52] It drove me to where I am today.
[21:54] Yeah, 100%.
[21:55] You'll never own a home.
[21:56] You'll be this.
[21:57] You're an idiot.
[21:57] Blah, blah, blah.
[21:58] He told me.
[21:58] I was looking out the window and he called me and said, Smith, you'll be a nobody in life.
[22:02] And I replied.
[22:02] Yeah, righto.
[22:03] Okay.
[22:03] Thanks.
[22:04] I wonder where you are now.
[22:06] Point off your hex.
[22:09] So it kind of worked out and I said to him, we've got to sit here all weekend.
[22:13] You know, we'll do the dogs nice and early and we'll, you know, have some finger food through the day.
[22:17] And, oh, yeah, righto, this guy, you know.
[22:20] A couple of years, boy.
[22:21] Yeah.
[22:22] Well, he was, you wrapped him around your little finger by about 10 o'clock.
[22:26] Oh, I reckon, yeah.
[22:27] He sat there.
[22:28] I liked your humour.
[22:31] I usually abuse someone within an hour.
[22:33] Oh, you did.
[22:34] I think a couple of brokers popped their heads in.
[22:39] It's wild to me.
[22:40] There's brokers out there.
[22:41] They do videos and they do this.
[22:43] And I'm like, mate, go make money.
[22:46] Go donate to charity.
[22:47] Go raise 700 grand for charity.
[22:50] Go train other people to be amazing brokers.
[22:54] I don't get it.
[22:54] I just don't concern myself.
[22:56] You know what I mean?
[22:57] Louis, get rid of that.
[23:01] and they'll log on at, you know, bob at yahoo.com.
[23:04] Yeah.
[23:04] You go through it all and then you can, and you can, you've got an answer.
[23:07] Right.
[23:08] Mobile numbers and stuff.
[23:09] And it's like, you're a broker.
[23:11] What are you doing?
[23:12] It's like, oh, apply for a job or piss off.
[23:15] See ya.
[23:16] See ya.
[23:17] That's right.
[23:18] And Brett just said, oh, this guy's great, you know.
[23:21] So the rest of the weekend you have it.
[23:22] And somebody will fart in the chat box.
[23:24] Yes.
[23:25] And it's like we're all there to listen.
[23:27] Just shut up and be like me saying, hey, can you help me train my dog?
[23:30] Go, right, hey?
[23:31] Yeah.
[23:31] And he goes, all right.
[23:32] So this morning, go, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa.
[23:34] Hang on.
[23:34] Hang on.
[23:35] 100% I've got to listen I say to them pick up that bit of stick over there put a bit of shit on it put it in your mouth and be quiet listen to me and just follow me around exactly what we say to our people that come there you've got to let the baker bake 100%
[23:51] No.
[23:51] So that was early in the morning and you're like, all right.
[23:53] Yeah, by 10 o'clock you'd won me straight away.
[23:55] And I did not leave then.
[23:56] I think we stayed till like 10 o'clock that night on the Saturday night.
[23:59] I do a long one sometimes, yeah.
[24:00] We did a real long one.
[24:01] We kind of had, because we were in a different situation to a lot of people who were doing the...
[24:06] the figures you know that you're real we did our own old home loan yeah okay you know just to kind of show us what what what would happen what would have happened um and it was mind-blowing but yeah mind-blowing yeah so awesome would you have typically sat for 14 hours like 8 9 a.m to 10 would you have ever sat at a computer for 14 hours and listened to some fat little fuck talk
[24:33] I'm flat out sitting at a table now, mate.
[24:34] Well, I've got to do my monthly report now and I absolutely hate it for like three hours.
[24:38] What else can I go and do?
[24:39] I've got to go outside.
[24:40] Someone's ringing me.
[24:41] I've got to go.
[24:42] Excuse after excuse.
[24:43] Yeah, sure.
[24:44] He's doing it.
[24:46] But, yeah, he did.
[24:47] But that sucked me right in.
[24:48] Like I did.
[24:49] I stayed right till like the 10 o'clock.
[24:50] I've been mad.
[24:51] Was it because you were learning or because it made sense?
[24:54] It did make sense.
[24:55] And then I looked at when we did our little homework in our book that you give us.
[24:58] Yeah.
[24:59] I realised how much money we'd wasted over the years.
[25:02] And it's all math.
[25:03] And where we could have been at our age now, how far we were behind.
[25:08] So when was that?
[25:09] When was the masterclass?
[25:10] Was that like?
[25:11] April.
[25:12] April.
[25:12] Okay.
[25:12] So you had that couple of months.
[25:13] You moved east.
[25:14] Yeah.
[25:14] Had that couple of months.
[25:15] Settled into the new gig.
[25:16] All that sort of stuff.
[25:18] April masterclass.
[25:19] Yes.
[25:19] Yeah.
[25:19] Okay.
[25:20] And then what?
[25:21] Where to from there?
[25:24] We did a... We did a ram.
[25:25] Ram.
[25:26] We went to a weekly...
[25:27] But I don't know whether I should tell you.
[25:30] Yeah, Louis.
[25:31] Louis again.
[25:32] June.
[25:32] May, June.
[25:35] Louis, that's three podcasts I've got recorded evidence.
[25:39] I make sure the cameras are rolling.
[25:41] Sorry.
[25:41] The audio.
[25:42] Don't worry, Louis.
[25:42] Look, he's a beautiful man.
[25:44] I know, he's wonderful.
[25:44] And if you sit there and go, well, look, we're...
[25:46] Sold our house, paid it off.
[25:47] We're sitting on money.
[25:48] We're in.
[25:49] We're ready to go.
[25:50] We were a bit different.
[25:51] And I walk in the room and see me, I'm like, all right, who's like been with me for 10, 12 years, right?
[25:56] Eight years.
[25:57] Who's like under a year or two or five?
[26:01] Who's under three months and shouldn't be here?
[26:03] And I was like, yeah.
[26:07] Louis.
[26:08] But he's a good man.
[26:09] He's got very...
[26:09] He is.
[26:10] He always breaks the rules.
[26:11] I'm like, let them sink their teeth into it for at least three months, and then they can come to REM.
[26:17] But circumstances are a bit different in all of this.
[26:21] We...
[26:21] I got rid of 13 of the bank accounts in that time.
[26:26] Oof.
[26:26] We'd cut up the credit card.
[26:27] It's a job in itself.
[26:28] Yeah.
[26:29] So I was prepared and ready, you know, so I knew that the next step we were going to be all systems go.
[26:36] Okay.
[26:37] So.
[26:37] So, so April masterclass, June real estate mastery, sitting on the cash from the sale.
[26:44] And then where do we sit today?
[26:47] We have a dual occupancy in New South Wales.
[26:50] So two income streams.
[26:52] Yeah.
[26:52] And a unit in Victoria.
[26:55] Okay.
[26:56] So two properties, three income streams and sitting on some cash as well.
[27:00] Yes, still.
[27:01] And some cash invested at 10% in the mortgage fund.
[27:03] Yes.
[27:05] What about budget wise?
[27:06] So what are you spending each week on a food fuel fund?
[27:10] We started at 7.50 from our masterclass with Amanda.
[27:14] That's about the norm.
[27:17] And I hear the same situation with a lot of people.
[27:20] Yeah.
[27:21] When we were onboarded with Amanda, we kind of really got a clear picture of what we do call food, fill and fun.
[27:28] Yeah.
[27:29] Because I think we were a little bit caught up in exactly what we were spending that money into.
[27:35] So it was a real mindset change.
[27:38] change to know exactly what we're spending.
[27:40] There's a big difference to if people spend all year and then they put it in a spreadsheet, which is already in fucking internet banking.
[27:46] Yeah.
[27:46] They put it in a spreadsheet and then they make a budget for next year.
[27:49] That's just fucking evidence of how bad you were last year.
[27:53] That's not a fucking budget.
[27:54] We're trying to create an improvement here, not fucking post-fact record keeping.
[27:59] Why are we doing this?
[28:01] But so we ended up at 410.
[28:04] Okay.
[28:04] There's just the two of us at home and I hardly drive anywhere.
[28:08] I only go to golf.
[28:09] Thank you very much for the golf balls.
[28:12] He's looking at you like, what's that?
[28:14] No, no.
[28:14] I don't know if they're any good, but I don't know like if they're a good brand or.
[28:18] I'm quite happy.
[28:19] I'm quite happy.
[28:19] I don't know if they were like Strixons or Top Flights or Calloways or.
[28:24] No, we got, I got a nice little set.
[28:26] Thank you very much.
[28:27] Very good.
[28:27] But after our 60 strong challenge, we don't know what we did and don't know.
[28:32] We put $5 away a day each.
[28:33] Yep.
[28:34] Which is $70 a week.
[28:36] So that's come off our 410.
[28:38] Wow.
[28:39] So we're able to really knock $70 off our 410 now.
[28:44] So you're sort of $3.40 a week, really, for you.
[28:47] $3.50.
[28:47] And, I mean, you've got fuel on the property.
[28:49] Yeah, that's right.
[28:50] So fuel's probably not a big issue.
[28:52] No.
[28:52] Probably a couple of hundred bucks a week cheaper.
[28:54] Correct.
[28:54] Than the average CBD household, right?
[28:56] Yes.
[28:57] So you've really just got food, depending on whether you can get it on the property or not, but buy food.
[29:02] Yes.
[29:02] So you've got food and you've got fun.
[29:04] Yeah.
[29:04] Yep.
[29:04] Okay.
[29:05] We use Papa Macros for our 60 Strong as well.
[29:08] Yeah.
[29:09] So it was kind of a good indicator.
[29:12] Shop once on a Thursday night.
[29:14] Nice and easy, right?
[29:15] That's why your results are so good.
[29:17] So shout out to Marco and Papa Macros.
[29:19] Yeah.
[29:20] And we wanted to – We shared a few videos doing just a show.
[29:23] I think we got it like six weeks in a row delivered.
[29:25] Yeah.
[29:25] Right.
[29:26] Unbelievable.
[29:27] And I love it.
[29:27] Yeah.
[29:28] I still love it.
[29:28] It is really.
[29:29] It's just handy.
[29:30] Oh, beautiful.
[29:31] Yeah.
[29:32] And filling too, by the way.
[29:33] Just awesome.
[29:34] Awesome food.
[29:35] Yeah.
[29:35] I think so too.
[29:36] So that was kind of.
[29:37] It makes it easy, right?
[29:38] It's controlled.
[29:39] It's pre-done.
[29:40] Heat it up.
[29:40] Off you go.
[29:41] A hundred percent.
[29:41] And we were kind of trying to find our way with the gym, whether afternoon was a good thing for us or the morning.
[29:47] Yeah.
[29:48] So coming home and just being able to have it there was one lesson.
[29:52] Yeah.
[29:52] So.
[29:53] Okay.
[29:53] Okay.
[29:53] But yeah, food, fuel and fun, I think we can possibly knock it down to $350.
[29:58] Okay.
[30:00] And that's because we saved $5 each over that $60 strong and we proved we could do it.
[30:05] So it's interesting where you start and then once you get the hang of something, can you start to refine it and refine it and refine it.
[30:11] Exactly.
[30:12] It's wild to think what we used to spend.
[30:14] 100%.
[30:14] Yeah.
[30:15] Absolutely.
[30:16] It's just, yeah, it's that 60 strong is just, I recommend it to anyone.
[30:21] Unbelievable.
[30:22] It's an interesting stat because anyone that's even given it a crack, 75 out of 60 strong, which we, we made 60 strong ourselves.
[30:29] It's easier.
[30:30] Anyone who's given it a crack within the first three months of joining infinity, infinity,
[30:34] has all gone on to have multiple properties and stay with us for the ones that have done it years ago have stayed for a couple years yes they've all got amazing results and i think it's because they take the time to almost rewire their own bullshit i agree one they feel better but it's not just physically it's mentally emotionally and they you you have to call yourself out on your own shit yeah no alcohol got to drink all the water got to eat clean no cheat meal you know like a bit of personal development
[31:00] All of a sudden you start being a positive person.
[31:02] Yeah.
[31:03] You think, shit, who this?
[31:04] And then you're talking money all the time.
[31:06] You know what I mean?
[31:07] You kind of got that.
[31:08] Have you transferred your five bucks today?
[31:09] Yeah.
[31:09] You know, and you kind of got all these, you know, things that are going on in the background that you're both ready, willing and wanting to talk about.
[31:17] Yeah.
[31:17] I don't think we've ever spoke like money.
[31:19] We talk money every day.
[31:20] It used to be taboo.
[31:23] Oh, we just never got around.
[31:24] We just knew it was there.
[31:25] No, like I said before, we never, as long as I could have a carton of beer a week, never asked a question.
[31:30] I knew Tracy was all over it.
[31:32] It's pretty common.
[31:33] Yeah.
[31:33] Yeah.
[31:34] I was like, yeah, if I've got a carton of beer and a packet of darts or whatever, you know, if I go to golf or whatever, like, I'm pretty content, cool.
[31:40] The bills are paid, roof over our head.
[31:42] 100%.
[31:43] But it's kind of, but you realise then you're kind of just existing.
[31:46] Yes, that's right.
[31:48] And like, thanks to you and infinity, like just, it just stops you in your, in your work days every day and you stop and think about life where you want to be in 10, 15 years.
[31:57] I was going to say, well, you're in such a, so there's no debt.
[32:01] Obviously we sold the home, no debt.
[32:03] We've now taken on some tax deductible debt for the investments.
[32:07] What's the big term goal now?
[32:09] Where do you see, where do you want to be?
[32:11] What's our job?
[32:12] Where do we have to get you now?
[32:14] We want a PPR.
[32:15] Okay.
[32:15] Owned outright.
[32:16] That is our biggest scary thing, I suppose, like coming off the farm.
[32:20] Anything could happen in life, you know, like I mightn't have a job next week.
[32:24] Where do I go?
[32:24] We've got a caravan.
[32:26] Actually, it's on the market.
[32:27] Well, that's kind of your mobile house.
[32:28] It's on the market.
[32:29] It's on the market.
[32:30] It's on the market.
[32:31] But, yeah, we don't use it, but it's on the market.
[32:34] And this is the thing.
[32:35] So many people have got caravans and boats.
[32:38] They don't fucking know.
[32:39] They don't use them enough to warrant it.
[32:40] Yeah.
[32:40] And even the ones that do use them quite a lot, they've got loans on them.
[32:44] Or they're paid cash and they're paying it off over 30 years in the home.
[32:47] You do the math.
[32:48] And the 50, 60, 100 grand van is 200 grand.
[32:50] It's wild, right?
[32:51] Red Jones.
[32:52] Insurance.
[32:53] And the amount of time we use it, there's 50 grand sitting there.
[32:55] Like, I'm not going to use 50 grand in motels.
[32:57] You just got to campify.
[32:58] 100%.
[32:58] Pick someone else's van up and enjoy the drink.
[33:00] 100%.
[33:00] Or just stay in the bloody hotel.
[33:01] Yes.
[33:02] It's a lot of motels, isn't it?
[33:04] Mm.
[33:04] It's a lot.
[33:05] It's a lot.
[33:06] When you do the comparison.
[33:08] That is our biggest worry.
[33:09] Like, Tracy, I've been a little bit older.
[33:11] I'm 50 next year.
[33:14] So we're looking 10 years, I suppose.
[33:16] Tracy will be 66, 67.
[33:18] I'll be 60.
[33:21] And so I suppose we put a challenge out to you.
[33:25] So the ultimate goal is the principal, the family home.
[33:28] Yeah, where we're going to.
[33:30] And do you know where you want that to be in Australia?
[33:34] Gong.
[33:35] In the gong?
[33:36] Yeah.
[33:37] In an apartment?
[33:37] We want to kind of go back to... What about dogs and stuff, bud?
[33:40] No.
[33:40] Oh, that's 10 years, so we're kind of thinking there's going to be a progression.
[33:44] Yeah.
[33:44] I slowly breed out of my dogs and slowly step away.
[33:47] Yeah.
[33:48] And we've never had neighbours.
[33:50] Yeah, that's...
[33:50] I've never had a neighbour.
[33:52] But we don't want to mow grass for two hours.
[33:53] I don't want to sit on water and mow us two hours.
[33:56] So, yeah, you've worked the land your whole life, right?
[33:58] So you want to go from that to just lock up and leave.
[34:00] Yeah, and go on a holiday.
[34:02] And up the lift and look at the view.
[34:04] And as life goes on, you get up and you go for a walk.
[34:06] And after they're 60 strong, you go for a coffee and a walk.
[34:09] Yeah.
[34:10] Or travel.
[34:11] And doctors are in close by.
[34:13] I'm doing that now at Burley because we're going to do the reno.
[34:15] And I'm down at the Burley now on the beach.
[34:17] Yeah.
[34:18] And it's great.
[34:18] We're in the laundry in there.
[34:20] 100%.
[34:20] It's beautiful.
[34:20] I go down in the morning, walk the beach, get coffee, off to the gym.
[34:24] It's fantastic.
[34:25] Yeah.
[34:25] Watch the sun come up.
[34:27] And Tracy being a little bit older, I don't want to lose that life of her being that seven or eight year old if something happens.
[34:32] And I'm still working my guts out going, we didn't have retirement together.
[34:35] You didn't enjoy yourselves.
[34:36] So if I do it at 58, 59, I could still go and work three, four days a week.
[34:42] I've got my truck license.
[34:44] Jump in a truck.
[34:45] Never been afraid to work.
[34:47] You know, you need to retire and enjoy herself.
[34:49] And I worked out two or three days.
[34:52] So we want to get an oceanfront apartment, an oceanview apartment in the Gong.
[34:58] Now, is that Kiama, Shell Harbour, Bulleye, Wollongong?
[35:04] Where is it?
[35:05] Well, yeah, yeah.
[35:06] Shell Harbour's nice down the Shell Cove.
[35:09] Because Tracy still has family down that way.
[35:12] And she's pretty close with her aunties.
[35:15] And, yeah, I suppose we'd like to come to the Gold Coast, but we don't want to be like one of those sheep.
[35:20] Everyone seems to be coming to the Gold Coast, follow the sheep.
[35:23] Everyone's coming and coming.
[35:24] Yeah.
[35:25] I think you've got something to do with that.
[35:29] We're the black sheep.
[35:30] We're black.
[35:31] We're totally black.
[35:32] Look, I love the gong.
[35:33] The only reason I stopped going to the gong is because obviously now sadly, I was down in the gong all the time.
[35:38] All of our families, you know, gone on in military and this and that.
[35:41] So I've got my uncle there and some cousins, but everyone else has moved away and sadly, Nan's passed.
[35:47] It's like, yeah, there's not much there for me.
[35:51] It's a beautiful part of the world.
[35:52] It is.
[35:52] Absolutely.
[35:53] And I think it's got footy and entertainment centres and hospitals and things that you – It's got everything you need.
[36:01] An hour from – You've got restaurants and cafes and coastal and you're bush to beach.
[36:06] Yeah.
[36:07] You're up to the highlands and you're down to the beach and you've got a bit of a blend of both.
[36:12] Yeah, and I think that's kind of what we like, we'd like in the scheme of things.
[36:18] And then possibly some passive income coming along behind.
[36:22] I suppose we want to be like a bull at a gate.
[36:24] We want to go full noise from now, the next... Yeah, we're aggressive.
[36:28] We want to make it all happen...
[36:30] Balls to the wall.
[36:31] Yeah.
[36:31] And then we liquidate some of the investment.
[36:34] Yep.
[36:34] To fund the apartment in the gong.
[36:36] Yes.
[36:37] Okay.
[36:37] Yeah.
[36:38] Because that's like a 10-year plan.
[36:41] Yeah.
[36:41] You kind of – I don't know how the structure of that comes together to be – Well, that's perfect because I say to everyone, you need 7 to 10 years at least.
[36:51] When I model anything I've ever done in real estate and people in general, pretty much all of the profit I've ever seen comes in year 8, 9 and 10.
[36:59] Okay.
[36:59] Right?
[37:00] Like there's no cycle, but you really need to look at it over time.
[37:04] And if I, I've modeled this myself and if I bought something in this year and I waited 10 years and I just move it one year, any 10 year period I've made money.
[37:12] Wow.
[37:13] Sometimes when you look at three years, you can lose money because there's a temporary dip of 5%, there's a correction.
[37:18] Yeah.
[37:19] Then there's a growth of 15%, then a growth of 3%.
[37:21] Yeah.
[37:22] So there's no perfect cycle.
[37:23] You look at that data from Doc Wilson.
[37:25] Yeah.
[37:26] But you have that correction every now and then of 5% or 6% if you're not in a regional mining or whatever.
[37:31] But then it grows substantially.
[37:34] But most people then would, oh, I've bought a property.
[37:37] I've paid stamp duty.
[37:39] I've had it for two years.
[37:40] I've made no money.
[37:41] That's why I say to clients, I'll just buy it back off you for what you paid plus $1.
[37:45] Yeah, plus $1.
[37:47] You need time.
[37:48] Now, obviously, we've been in a good market.
[37:51] I personally have done very – a lot of clients have done very well at buying stuff and actually selling it a few years later because the market's gone so crazy because we don't have enough supply.
[37:59] But that's not going to always happen.
[38:01] You're not to expect to buy something.
[38:03] We did one the other day for someone.
[38:05] They bought it for $7.39 and they've just sold it for $1.49.
[38:09] Wow.
[38:10] You know, so there's 300-something grand in there.
[38:13] You don't expect that as the norm.
[38:15] No.
[38:15] You shouldn't, right?
[38:16] Because you've got stamp duty on the way in.
[38:19] You've got agents commission.
[38:20] On the way out.
[38:21] Properties are lumpy, heavy, illiquid asset.
[38:24] Yes.
[38:24] It needs that time.
[38:26] But 10 years is a great time.
[38:28] Yeah.
[38:28] That's seven to eight to 10 years.
[38:30] Yeah.
[38:30] Perfect.
[38:31] Because we're in a cycle now where it actually is growing because we don't have enough supply and we've got too much demand.
[38:36] So that should continue to see prices elevate.
[38:40] Rents elevate sadly as well.
[38:43] And that may stop in one year, three years, four years.
[38:46] But then you typically expect not much to happen.
[38:49] Yeah.
[38:50] It would stagnate for a period of time.
[38:52] I remember down the bottom of the pass, Albion Park.
[38:55] Yeah.
[38:55] I bought my first house there.
[38:58] Me too.
[38:58] For like $355,750.
[38:59] Yeah.
[39:00] And I had it for seven years and I was a local bank manager.
[39:03] Seven years as a property cycle.
[39:04] That's good.
[39:05] It didn't go up.
[39:06] Didn't do anything.
[39:06] I think I sold it for like $365,000 or $375,000.
[39:08] I paid the agent.
[39:11] I got back what I fucking paid.
[39:13] Now, luckily I paid it down, right?
[39:14] But I got back what I fucking paid for it.
[39:16] Sure as shit two years later.
[39:18] It wasn't $363.
[39:19] It was fucking $650.
[39:21] Because that last little bit, 8, 9 and 10, went through the fucking roof.
[39:27] And that was one of my first lessons, not mistakes.
[39:30] Welcome to the world.
[39:31] Yeah.
[39:32] Real estate.
[39:32] So it's one of those things that, yeah, if you're holding real estate, eventually it will move.
[39:38] It's just when, where, all that sort of stuff.
[39:41] So 10 years is a good plan, a really good plan.
[39:45] It goes so quick.
[39:46] Yeah.
[39:46] Yeah.
[39:47] Like, yeah.
[39:49] I feel like we were doing the Kmart thing last year.
[39:52] Yeah, and that's now.
[39:53] That's right.
[39:54] It's Christmas again, you know what I mean?
[39:56] Yeah.
[39:57] Elf on a Shelf will be out shortly.
[39:58] It will be.
[39:59] I have to make some little Gs on a shelf.
[40:01] Gs.
[40:02] It's a little show.
[40:02] We just, yeah, we let the baker bake, as you say.
[40:05] And like we said, we're kind of really aggressive in the fact that we want it as much as we can get and we'll do whatever you ask us to do to get to that.
[40:17] Where does that – there's two things in there.
[40:21] There's a desire all of a sudden and it obviously feels like and sounds like there's a high element of trust already.
[40:28] Oh, absolutely.
[40:29] 100%.
[40:30] Where does that come from?
[40:31] Because –
[40:32] To go from, I don't know, this fucking way.
[40:34] Yeah, don't touch my money.
[40:36] I've got my bank balance on my phone now.
[40:38] I'm tech savvy, right?
[40:40] I am the man.
[40:42] Look at me now.
[40:43] How does that happen from April to, what are we now, November?
[40:48] I think it's just the whole...
[40:50] I was already there.
[40:51] I was already there.
[40:52] So I was already in love with you.
[40:54] The infinity community bust, it just blows me.
[40:56] Unbelievable.
[40:57] You know, like there's not a bad person in the group.
[40:59] No idiots.
[41:00] No idiots.
[41:01] So do you think it helps when obviously, because when you do stuff on Zoom and phone, it's one thing, but then getting in a live room with...
[41:08] 500, if I come and be honest, your one was probably 500, 600.
[41:11] I think ours was 500, yeah.
[41:13] That's a, I still have everyday people go, you're fucking nuts.
[41:16] How many people in that room are going to be disgruntled?
[41:18] I go, probably fucking a few.
[41:20] No, but I expect a few.
[41:21] Someone will go, you know,
[41:23] Oh, fucking such and such didn't call me back.
[41:26] Yeah.
[41:26] I said, oh, yeah, I'm going to go check in there.
[41:28] They had an email responder saying, I'm in meetings all fucking day.
[41:31] Did you read it?
[41:31] Oh, no.
[41:32] 100%.
[41:32] But, you know, like, it is very ballsy to put that many people in a room.
[41:37] Yeah.
[41:37] Any organisation.
[41:38] And to own the whole lot.
[41:39] Yeah, but you've got to take pride in what you do.
[41:42] Yeah.
[41:42] And I think that, you know, no business that has a human element to it is perfect.
[41:48] No.
[41:48] Ever.
[41:49] But if you can own your imperfections, you can perfect them.
[41:52] Yeah, get better.
[41:53] And that's really important.
[41:55] But how important do you think it is to be around people that have been – they're two months ahead of you, two years ahead.
[42:02] Some of them are 12, 13 years ahead.
[42:04] You think, fuck, you've put up with Graham for 13 years.
[42:06] Fuck, I know.
[42:08] And it's no bullshit.
[42:09] Like we come to the room and the first night was a Thursday night and we arrived early because we kind of got away from the farm at work.
[42:17] Right, right.
[42:18] And we walked into the first little get-together, meet-and-greet.
[42:23] And, you know, all your testimonial persons were there.
[42:27] And they are just...
[42:28] I'm not sure whether they like sharing or whether they just like getting on the piss before they all they can.
[42:32] I think it's...
[42:33] I think it's the open bar.
[42:34] I'd go to the Piscuit.
[42:36] They were honest.
[42:37] You know, they were all there to talk to you and you walked in and like Brett said, oh, you know, we're going to find a fair few weirdos and whatever else here, you know.
[42:47] Like if we go, I'll give you the nod and we'll go back up to the room when we're ready, you know.
[42:51] And within the first two steps in the room, he's now got two really great mates that, you know, like live the Gold Coast and up in Brisbane there.
[43:02] That you've met on the first night.
[43:03] Met on the first night.
[43:04] And then when you run into them all the time.
[43:06] And now we're friends, you know, a messenger and Ali, she's now doing 60 Strong in the second round, you know, so I'm giving her a bit of, you know, a bit of motivation and how's she going and stuff.
[43:19] So, yeah, I think even just that, that he was comfortable.
[43:23] Right.
[43:23] Because he's always the one that's like, oh, there's going to be dickheads here.
[43:26] Remember how we have that strictly no dickheads policy, right?
[43:27] Yeah, there's no dickheads here.
[43:29] So if you meet someone this weekend, let me know.
[43:31] I'm the only dickhead here.
[43:32] Yeah.
[43:32] I'm the king dickhead.
[43:33] And he didn't think that was real either.
[43:35] But once that Thursday night was over and, you know, we kind of started to meet people and realised that, you know, this was all meant to be.
[43:43] It's funny, but you go in Thursday and everyone's standing there.
[43:45] Yeah.
[43:46] Yeah.
[43:46] They're all a bit on guard.
[43:47] I'll give you the nod.
[43:48] We'll go back to the Saturday night.
[43:50] People have got their shirts off on stage.
[43:52] I think one of the photos I sent through for our slide.
[43:57] I think our love was trying to get the microphone off.
[43:58] Savage.
[43:59] Savage was there.
[44:00] And we're like, we're like.
[44:02] that was a cool surprise we were like we were front row and we had drinks and we were singing and i didn't even know that was happening oh he was he was amazing it was pretty cool it was amazing because we usually like i try to talk to every single person yeah and i get so sick after every day you shake hands with 500 people and they're like oh you got to come to the after party i'm not fucking going to the after party i've
[44:26] I'll pay the bill.
[44:26] I'm not going.
[44:27] No, no, you've got to come.
[44:28] Because if we go to the after party, I'm Frank the Tank.
[44:30] Yeah.
[44:32] Oh, shit.
[44:32] It just happens.
[44:34] But no, that was a good night.
[44:35] It was all right.
[44:36] I don't even remember.
[44:36] There was a bloke up.
[44:37] He's got the glades dancing up on the.
[44:39] That's right.
[44:39] On the back there.
[44:40] On the security.
[44:41] On that big pole.
[44:41] That big pole in the back.
[44:43] They're like, whose husband is this?
[44:45] All the posts are going on.
[44:46] He's hip thrusting away.
[44:49] Doing the worm on the stage.
[44:50] Yeah, no.
[44:52] We found that we ended up with a nice photo from there.
[44:54] It was great.
[44:55] But just everyone's on the same page.
[44:56] Yeah.
[44:57] And money just sometimes you never speak about it.
[45:00] Yeah.
[45:01] And all of a sudden you go there and everyone wants to tell you their story.
[45:05] And it's just amazing.
[45:07] It's almost like a lifetime of being suppressed to be able to share.
[45:10] And all of a sudden we can all openly talk about it.
[45:12] We all trust to share.
[45:14] Well, I did this and I'm having a problem with it.
[45:16] Oh, we did that.
[45:18] And what you do is if you do this or tell that, and it just makes it a bit easier.
[45:22] It's all out there.
[45:23] Yeah.
[45:23] No, I like it.
[45:24] I think that's the best thing about the group and community.
[45:28] So you reckon that's pretty important?
[45:29] Yeah, I do.
[45:30] Yeah, and we've done the Sydney community.
[45:31] Yeah, so all your events, you know.
[45:33] That was big.
[45:34] It was huge.
[45:35] It was wonderful.
[45:35] Beautiful place.
[45:37] Well run.
[45:37] Awesome.
[45:38] Was it at the brewery?
[45:39] Brewdog in South Everleigh.
[45:42] Yeah, awesome.
[45:43] Your team there is fantastic.
[45:44] I think they catered to everything, right?
[45:45] They had the face painting for the kids.
[45:47] Yeah, jumping castles.
[45:47] They had the grog for the adults.
[45:49] The food was unbelievable.
[45:50] It just kept coming and coming and coming.
[45:53] I'm a feeder.
[45:53] Oh, I know.
[45:54] I know.
[45:55] And we'd finished.
[45:56] We'd just come off 60 strong.
[45:57] We'd finished 60 strong, so we'd finished, but I met a guy at the bar.
[45:59] So we're like a fat kid on a cupcake.
[46:01] Yes, we're not.
[46:04] But still.
[46:05] Where's Nick?
[46:05] Nick's not watching.
[46:06] Yeah.
[46:07] Get that in here, Nick.
[46:08] But, no, I think it was all of those things that you put together are just fantastic for the group.
[46:13] And with Brett's brother from WA, we started talking to him about what we were doing and, you know, they've got kids and, you know, they're growing up quickly.
[46:24] But he's now done your masterclass and, you know, we really hope and our excitement that they would just be,
[46:33] booked in for it, you know, and then they're texting us through the afternoon and the weekend and, you know, I think they can see after doing the sums that they're going to just.
[46:43] He did text me on Saturday morning and said he hasn't kicked anyone off yet.
[46:46] I said, give it time.
[46:48] I'm pretty good because I've got Rachel now.
[46:50] I was doing like these 14, 16 hour days and then I crash.
[46:55] If you do that for these big events for two, three days.
[46:58] It's not sustainable.
[46:59] Yeah, it's not sustainable.
[47:01] So Rachel's been great now.
[47:02] So she does probably half of the event with me, which is awesome.
[47:05] And I'm really, really focused now on...
[47:08] We'll start a family soon and get fit now, you know, make sure I'm healthy.
[47:12] And that's going to take a long time.
[47:13] But really focused on as we go to start a family to make sure that there's a whole business and company here.
[47:19] It's not just Graham.
[47:20] Because I've stayed the face of it for so long because I'm prepared for people to hate, attack, love me.
[47:26] Whereas not a lot of people are.
[47:28] You can't be as big as we are without being both loved and hated.
[47:31] Yeah.
[47:32] Those that know you love you.
[47:33] Yes.
[47:34] Those that don't have an opinion and hate you.
[47:36] So I've always been very protective of the team.
[47:39] Of course.
[47:40] And to take all of that, especially these days in social media and stuff.
[47:43] Whereas now I'm like, they're all so highly skilled.
[47:47] Yeah.
[47:47] Great at what they do.
[47:48] Yeah.
[47:49] And their numbers are phenomenal and their client results are crazy.
[47:53] No.
[47:53] It's time to put the team on their pedestals.
[47:55] Yes.
[47:55] Let them shine.
[47:56] 100%.
[47:57] So people will see a lot more of our team now do what I've always done.
[48:02] Yeah.
[48:02] Same words, same numbers, different face.
[48:05] Yeah.
[48:06] So, which is really important now.
[48:07] I think that's worked for us.
[48:09] You know, Amanda, I know she was kind of new when we came in in April, but she's now, I said to Brett the other day, she's obviously finding a way because she's got Ashley King was the male, the male winner.
[48:20] Yeah.
[48:21] Don't be upset.
[48:22] The male winner.
[48:23] Of 60 Strong.
[48:23] Of 60 Strong.
[48:24] Got me by 300 grand.
[48:26] Of 60 Strong.
[48:28] And he's also one of Amanda's clients.
[48:30] So, you know, and I said to Amanda when we first signed up, we're going to be the first couple to win 60 Strong.
[48:36] Okay.
[48:37] And, you know, she kind of was behind us.
[48:39] And, you know, what's going to be your breakout meal?
[48:42] I just wanted one big fat donut.
[48:43] One big fat donut.
[48:45] With...
[48:45] With custard in the middle.
[48:47] Oh, okay.
[48:48] But so she was, you know, she was quite.
[48:50] And then you felt guilty straight up.
[48:51] And then I felt guilty, yeah.
[48:53] But she's been really good and Toby's good and Elyo's.
[48:56] I find it's really important.
[48:57] It's taken years.
[48:59] It wasn't always this good.
[49:01] You know, people think, oh, it's an overnight success, you know.
[49:03] And, oh, it's taken.
[49:05] We've had toxic workplaces over the years and the high school bickering and personalities don't matter in any workplace.
[49:12] Yeah, yeah.
[49:13] But touch wood today.
[49:14] It's now.
[49:15] We have the most amazing group of human beings that don't consider what they do a job.
[49:20] Yeah.
[49:21] And when you give them, and it's been really hard to create it, but to create the right environment, you know.
[49:26] to build and fit out the office and to do these community events and buy the bloody FTB bus.
[49:32] Yeah.
[49:33] Where you have over, over-invested, we're doing offsides, like all this stuff we were doing for clients and team, it's created this wild momentum.
[49:42] Yeah.
[49:42] And it's to the point now, you've got to apply to be part of it.
[49:46] Yeah.
[49:46] Don't just take anyone.
[49:47] No, exactly right.
[49:48] We're not just...
[49:49] desperate to do a deal, you've got to apply.
[49:51] You've got to follow the process.
[49:52] You've got to learn.
[49:53] And I don't think anyone should...
[49:55] It's like, I'm useless with tech, right?
[49:57] I go buy tech and go, oh, there's this new phone thing out or whatever.
[50:01] I go, but I don't know how to fucking use it.
[50:02] I mean, they need a course before they sell it to you.
[50:05] They've got to teach you, right?
[50:06] You've got to crawl before you walk.
[50:07] Yeah, well, they show you, they give you the demo at Apple of the phone before you bloody...
[50:11] Still can't work it out.
[50:11] Still can't happen.
[50:12] And that's what's been really important for Beck and I is this...
[50:15] Not to sell you the loan, right?
[50:17] It's to teach you how to operate it.
[50:20] Let you try yourself from the free info.
[50:22] Yeah.
[50:22] Get a great result and go, oh, shit, this is real.
[50:25] Correct.
[50:25] I wonder what happens if we actually get them to do it.
[50:27] Yes.
[50:28] And so then it's a self-directed, like you're chasing that guidance and advice because you know it's real.
[50:34] Yeah.
[50:34] It's very different to just being sold a product or service.
[50:37] But, man, the people we have now are just...
[50:40] They're perfect.
[50:40] It gives me chills.
[50:41] Yeah, it does.
[50:43] And month on month on month, you see we start breaking records, breaking records.
[50:47] Yeah, things are happening.
[50:48] And I'm like, oh, you won't get bigger than that.
[50:50] Of course you do.
[50:51] The next one, bigger than that again.
[50:52] Bigger than that again.
[50:53] And then I'm looking at the reviews and I'm like, even like clerical day to day, like not the person, the broker that got your house approved, the reviews are flooding in for like everybody within the organization.
[51:06] I'm like, this is cool.
[51:08] It's like a one big shop.
[51:09] You just go in and get the whole lot.
[51:11] Almost, yeah.
[51:12] And then we've got to send you that.
[51:13] We've got to send you that to the accountant and the planner and all that sort of stuff.
[51:17] And, jeez, we've got some interesting people.
[51:21] Well, Mark's our accountant because he lives in Barrow.
[51:24] Have you been taking him anything from Gumnut Patisserie?
[51:27] Well, we did talk to him about going to the pub for a Sunday lunch.
[51:31] So that's in the process.
[51:33] Especially if you pay.
[51:36] But he tidied up all of our affairs and stuff and got it all on track again because we were kind of a bit wayward with the accountant.
[51:41] He's a funny dude.
[51:42] Oh, yes.
[51:43] Dry as toast.
[51:44] Yeah.
[51:45] He is a weapon.
[51:46] He's a weapon.
[51:47] He's good.
[51:49] Because I think he must have been on the weekend.
[51:51] My brother did mention him.
[51:52] Yeah, he was not on the weekend.
[51:53] He texted me and said – And we just give it to each other.
[51:55] Yeah, that's what he said.
[51:56] Turns up in his best tablecloth ball.
[51:59] Mate, you had a fight with the fucking mower out of the property and you got your tablecloth on.
[52:02] We're just into each other.
[52:04] That's what my brother said.
[52:04] It's good.
[52:05] He's laughing about the cup and the tablecloth shirt he's wearing.
[52:07] Or matching.
[52:08] He's there with his little cup of tea.
[52:10] Must have been cold in the holidays.
[52:14] Yeah, it has been.
[52:15] He's a good man.
[52:17] I don't know many accountants that work Saturdays and Sundays.
[52:20] No.
[52:20] No.
[52:20] Times and he's a good man.
[52:22] It's been really good.
[52:23] So I think we're on the right track and we've got all the right people working for us.
[52:26] So it's been fantastic.
[52:28] Excited, I reckon.
[52:29] So if we go...
[52:31] November last year, before you seen us on the Kmart Salvo's Christmas Appeal thing on telly, you were selling the home and what was the plan?
[52:41] How did you feel financially?
[52:42] Because you've obviously got a team now, but what was the plan then?
[52:46] We were going to try and do it ourselves.
[52:48] You were selling the home and you sit down and turn the telly on.
[52:51] And this is happening.
[52:52] And that was just, I think things have kind of, you know, gel with us occasionally anyway, you know.
[52:58] The day of our REM was our youngest son's birthday, you know, so things kind of align a little.
[53:05] And, yeah, I think we were – Brett was just going to sit on it.
[53:08] He was already said to you to start with.
[53:10] He was going to sit on his money and just watch it grow.
[53:12] But it wasn't growing much.
[53:14] I know, it wouldn't have grown very fast.
[53:16] You shouldn't have given him into their banking.
[53:17] It's disappearing.
[53:18] We've got to do something.
[53:20] But, yeah, we kind of owned everything.
[53:22] You know, we owned the caravan.
[53:23] We owned the cars.
[53:24] So what else was it going to do?
[53:27] We really didn't know.
[53:28] You know, maybe go out and buy something ourself and do it ourself.
[53:34] Probably just would have filled it in another car or something, I suppose.
[53:38] Upgraded.
[53:38] No, I don't think so.
[53:40] But now...
[53:41] I liked it too much.
[53:42] But now we've got the plan.
[53:44] Yeah.
[53:44] A couple of properties, a couple of income streams, some money invested in the mortgage fund, and the goal, the overarching goal is to have an apartment maybe by the water somewhere in the Illawarra within 10 years.
[53:56] Yeah.
[53:57] Okay.
[53:58] And we kind of sweep.
[53:59] We sweep our...
[54:01] Our goal to ourself is to try and sweep, or we sweep at the moment, because we don't have a home loan to pop it into, between $8,000 and $10,000 a month.
[54:12] Wow.
[54:13] And that's kind of a challenge that we're putting up for ourselves.
[54:16] That's a deposit every 12 months on another property.
[54:18] And that's why we want you to possibly see how that can roll on.
[54:24] Well, let's do a review of that now to look to where we can be to then do a part two of this and a second episode in, I don't know, we could either, I've got a feeling we could probably do something else right now.
[54:41] Oh, my God.
[54:42] True.
[54:43] Yeah.
[54:43] Nice to come back up for REM next weekend.
[54:45] Yeah.
[54:46] Done.
[54:48] It's done.
[54:49] He's the guy.
[54:50] I don't know about this.
[54:52] This guy's weird.
[54:52] I'm out.
[54:53] Go on, feed the dogs.
[54:57] I just got goosebumps.
[54:58] As I say, Dee, you're fucking the cat.
[55:00] I'm just holding the tail.
[55:02] Well, let's not tell Rebecca about that one, eh?
[55:05] Jeez, that's a new one for me.
[55:06] But hey, I'll take it.
[55:09] Can't take it.
[55:09] All trust, mate.
[55:10] All trust.
[55:11] Can't take it.
[55:12] This cat is all...
[55:13] Pull that towel real hard.
[55:15] He wants to know who's cat.
[55:16] It doesn't matter.
[55:17] I'll just hold the towel real high and just... Go for it.
[55:20] I trust you.
[55:23] I apologise.
[55:24] I do have to sometimes apologise when we leave.
[55:26] I don't have to apologise either.
[55:29] But I'm pretty confident based on the cash we've got sitting there, the money in the mortgage fund, what we've got underway.
[55:37] I'd be pretty confident that I could build a strategy between now and next weekend to get you back to REM, sit down.
[55:45] Just got to make sure we can get some space because it's one of the biggest ones we've ever done.
[55:49] We'll work on that strategy over the next week.
[55:51] Just take a good week.
[55:52] I reckon we can get into another one or two properties.
[55:55] Far out.
[55:56] That should get us to that sort of four with five income streams over the next 10 years.
[56:02] Perfect.
[56:03] So if you use some round numbers, if you've got five joints at a million bucks, there's five million bucks.
[56:08] Yes.
[56:09] If all of them are moving at the moment, you know, I mean this year the market, so depending where you are, has moved anywhere from seven to 10, 11%.
[56:15] You know, you start getting that not on $1 million because you're getting 70 to 100 on $5 million.
[56:20] Yeah, yeah.
[56:22] Well, there's your woolen oil.
[56:23] Life starts to talk.
[56:24] And you don't need to sell any of the investments.
[56:26] Yeah, that's awesome.
[56:27] So we want to control as much as we can now within your serviceability and comfort levels and capacities.
[56:34] Yep.
[56:36] Yeah.
[56:37] I was going to use the cat joke there, but maybe I won't.
[56:40] You better not.
[56:41] Poor bloody cat.
[56:42] Yeah.
[56:43] I've got the two of you hanging on to it.
[56:45] Yeah, I know.
[56:46] Luckily, we're not on anything about coffee and water, right?
[56:49] That could be interesting.
[56:51] Oh, my God.
[56:52] So when you're at Ram, we're going to give you a special legend.
[56:54] It's got a picture of a cat.
[56:55] And he goes, what's that?
[56:56] And you go, I'm just holding the tail.
[56:58] Talk to G about the rest.
[57:00] He asked G on stage.
[57:01] Cat that way.
[57:02] Yeah.
[57:03] Um, so, so let's, let's have a look at that for you guys over the next week.
[57:08] Hopefully if we can put something together in the next week, back for Ram, go through it, build it from the two with the three rents to maybe three or four with five rents.
[57:17] Do I look like a deer in a headlight?
[57:19] Because I'm agreeing.
[57:20] It's like, oh my God.
[57:21] Ram, let's go.
[57:25] um i just got to reverse engineer the numbers because the thing that we take really seriously when we're doing all these capacities for what you can go and invest in and buy whether it's shares or whatever it is property we want to make sure that you're not over committed so we need to you know and we usually might start here you get comfortable in those first couple of months there's always more potential we try not to put anyone straight away it's like start here
[57:50] let's get this underfoot.
[57:52] Let's make sure we understand what we're doing.
[57:53] It's comfortable.
[57:54] It works.
[57:56] Your tenants have paid all that sort of stuff.
[57:57] Then we'll look at going from there.
[58:00] So we're sort of at that point now where we're comfortable.
[58:03] We know what's happening.
[58:03] You're in a good groove.
[58:04] You're in a good structure.
[58:06] It's time to pump it up a bit.
[58:09] Awesome.
[58:10] All right.
[58:12] Yeah, there'll be some... Just breathe, mate.
[58:14] There'll be some weird stuff in there.
[58:17] We might work out that we can do another two, but I need to sell the first one you bought to settle the fourth one.
[58:25] You know, like what I've done with a lot of other...
[58:27] Yes.
[58:28] Hey, we want to control this many assets, but for that one to happen and get the money from the bank...
[58:32] We'll have to sell that one.
[58:33] Yeah.
[58:34] So we have to be really confident in the first one you got of making a bit of money to then get into the last one.
[58:39] Yeah.
[58:39] So that time frame over X years, we've got to work through all of that so it'll take a little while.
[58:44] I'll be pretty confident.
[58:45] Oh, God, I'm so pleased.
[58:46] I know a couple of people that could...
[58:48] We can build that out in the next week.
[58:50] Wow.
[58:50] And then we'll have to do an episode two.
[58:52] Yeah, great.
[58:53] Where you won't be like beer in a head like, no, no, no.
[58:56] When's the next one?
[58:57] Let's do it.
[58:59] You'll be holding a tiger then, not me.
[59:00] It'll be a bit more aggressive.
[59:02] We'll step up from the cat and go to tiger.
[59:05] Oh, jeez.
[59:06] Poor little pussy.
[59:07] Poor little pussy.
[59:12] it's not very often i'm speechless well i can ask you guys besides tigers and cats and bear lions and tigers and bears oh my can i ask you guys what have you learned on this journey that you could share with someone because obviously these podcasts were really our community they love them right they love hearing everyone's it's to celebrate your success you've done phenomenally well in a short space of time
[59:36] But we get a lot of non-client community listening.
[59:39] And that one person that out there that be, oh, well, like we're farmers and we're do it.
[59:44] We have seasonal income.
[59:46] We lost money last year.
[59:47] We made money this year.
[59:48] We lost money.
[59:49] It's fucking tough.
[59:51] And it keeps the nation going.
[59:52] We don't realise like...
[59:55] it's a big issue yes so talk to me about some things that you guys have maybe learned that you could help some other whether it's whether it's farmers whether it's teachers whether it's oil and gas doesn't matter but you're in a an area which can be a lot more difficult obviously for work yeah also some benefits to it when it's great it's great when it's not it's not what are some things you've learned that you could share for someone that's tuning in and go hey this is really important you need to try this you need to what's some stuff you could share
[1:00:22] I suppose like the agriculture game is you see a lot of people live on farm like ourself.
[1:00:28] Everything's paid for.
[1:00:29] They pay for your groceries virtually.
[1:00:32] But you see a lot of farmers walk away from that job with no money.
[1:00:36] No money because life's good.
[1:00:37] Money's in the bank.
[1:00:38] It's spend, spend, spend.
[1:00:40] My advice would be, you know, put your hand up.
[1:00:43] Ask for advice.
[1:00:44] Don't be scared.
[1:00:46] I was scared.
[1:00:47] Yeah, I'll be honest.
[1:00:48] But...
[1:00:49] Now, mate, I'd recommend it to anyone, especially the farmer, because mental health and everything is big in the agriculture sort of game.
[1:00:57] Because, you know, like you just explained, cropping or sheep or cattle could be up today, prices down tomorrow.
[1:01:04] You know what I mean?
[1:01:04] The money just keeps like a merry-go-round, round, round, round, round, round.
[1:01:08] But I would put my hand up straight away and say, get on to G. Yeah.
[1:01:14] And if not me, somebody.
[1:01:16] Somebody, 100%.
[1:01:17] It doesn't have to be me, right?
[1:01:19] If it's somebody in your local town or region that you trust, that's got some runs on the board for another local family in town or later, then chat to them.
[1:01:28] Somebody, you know, do something.
[1:01:29] I think the big thing you say there is you were scared, but you put your hand, you push it to the side and you're not now.
[1:01:35] You're fucking, let's go, right?
[1:01:36] Let's go.
[1:01:37] We've gone from a cat to a tiger.
[1:01:39] Fuck it hell.
[1:01:41] But I think that's a really important piece of advice, especially in farming, ag, transport, logistics, that whole backbone of our country, really.
[1:01:49] And we're shipping most of it overseas.
[1:01:51] We're getting the dregs.
[1:01:53] But I think it's really important to put that at the forefront for people in Australia that reach out for help.
[1:01:59] At least investigate what's possible.
[1:02:02] It doesn't have to be me.
[1:02:03] I'm not for everybody, that's for bloody sure.
[1:02:06] Keep your cats away, apparently.
[1:02:08] Never going to leave that one down.
[1:02:11] But, you know, I think it's really important that you reach out for help.
[1:02:14] Yeah.
[1:02:14] Like, it is a tough gig.
[1:02:16] We lose a lot of good people every year and it's up, it's down.
[1:02:19] And just when they think they've had a win, you end up taking a hit.
[1:02:22] It's a loss, yeah.
[1:02:25] It's a backbone of our community and society, but it's not put in enough spotlight.
[1:02:30] Yeah.
[1:02:31] You know, it really is.
[1:02:32] Like, yeah, 20 years ago, 30 years ago, you mentioned mental health or financial stuff to farmers.
[1:02:37] It didn't matter.
[1:02:38] They've got no idea.
[1:02:40] Just stop sucking and get back to it.
[1:02:41] No, there was no emotion.
[1:02:42] You didn't express emotion.
[1:02:43] That's not manly like it.
[1:02:44] And I was in that state too, mate.
[1:02:46] Don't worry.
[1:02:46] It was only like the last probably.
[1:02:48] When you were sick, the doctor came and said, you know, like there's lots of things going on with you.
[1:02:53] And he kind of went, yeah.
[1:02:54] He said, I think one of the problems is, you know, PTSD type thing or chronic fatigue syndrome for being so unwell.
[1:03:03] Yeah.
[1:03:03] And Brett was like, you don't know what you're talking about.
[1:03:05] I politely told me to shut the door.
[1:03:08] I'm getting up now and I'm going home because if that's.
[1:03:10] Hard as nails.
[1:03:10] I said, go and find the real thing about me.
[1:03:12] I don't believe in that shit.
[1:03:14] See you later.
[1:03:14] Yeah.
[1:03:14] And it was.
[1:03:15] Go and find something medical or.
[1:03:16] Yeah.
[1:03:17] Yeah.
[1:03:17] Yeah.
[1:03:18] I needed something.
[1:03:18] But you look back at it now and you think.
[1:03:20] Yeah.
[1:03:20] That was probably a very good call.
[1:03:23] Yeah.
[1:03:23] You know.
[1:03:24] Yeah.
[1:03:24] 100%.
[1:03:25] And it's.
[1:03:26] Certainly.
[1:03:26] And once you do get in a community like this, you talk, talk, talk.
[1:03:30] Yeah.
[1:03:31] And it does.
[1:03:32] Otherwise, we lock ourself at home.
[1:03:34] I live and breathe it.
[1:03:35] You almost end up turning into a big teddy bear once you get into the community.
[1:03:38] Yeah, I know.
[1:03:38] 100%.
[1:03:39] You do start to talk.
[1:03:40] That's right.
[1:03:41] Sometimes just talking about it helps.
[1:03:43] Just get it off your chest.
[1:03:44] Yeah.
[1:03:45] So I think that's really is don't be scared, especially farming, agriculture.
[1:03:50] Don't be scared to just explore some help.
[1:03:53] Don't necessarily go and do anything that changes your world.
[1:03:55] It could be very fucking bad.
[1:03:56] It could be very good.
[1:03:57] Yes.
[1:03:58] But go and explore some help because there's plenty of help out there.
[1:04:00] Yeah.
[1:04:00] Plenty of people.
[1:04:01] Someone in your local region that you trust, that you know, or do our free shit.
[1:04:06] Yeah, that's right.
[1:04:07] I know some people watch our podcast for a year.
[1:04:10] Yeah.
[1:04:10] Before they go and they look and they go, oh, that's a real person.
[1:04:12] That's right.
[1:04:13] Yeah.
[1:04:13] Creeping on it all that you're not paid out, you know, all this shit.
[1:04:16] And then they're like, I've been following you for two years before I did the free thing.
[1:04:19] And then they made the jump.
[1:04:20] And I'm like, fucking hell.
[1:04:21] Where have you been?
[1:04:22] You would have been if you started two years ago.
[1:04:24] But that's okay because when people are ready, they're ready.
[1:04:27] They'll do it.
[1:04:27] Yeah.
[1:04:28] If you went back.
[1:04:29] five years ago yes all right just said i'll have a look at this you're going yeah yeah you also have to be right headspace right time to actually want the help that's right true we can't drag you to the goal kicking and screaming it's not to put your hand up yourself and so i'm ready to go yeah what else have you learned along the way
[1:04:48] Budget.
[1:04:49] Budget?
[1:04:50] I think that's a huge – you'll find money you didn't know you had.
[1:04:53] Yeah.
[1:04:53] And that then creates a monster that you can then use for you.
[1:05:00] Is it safe to say that anyone listening this evening or yourself before think budget means scarcity, diet, go without, you're not getting beer?
[1:05:07] We all think it's a bad word, right?
[1:05:09] Yeah, yeah.
[1:05:09] But isn't it the opposite?
[1:05:10] Yeah.
[1:05:10] Isn't it this many cases of beer, this much takeaway, isn't it actually planning your money?
[1:05:16] Yeah.
[1:05:16] changing your whole structure and the relationship too I think with our like Trace and I have been together 20 something years and I don't know like since we've been doing this sort of stuff we've just talked, talked, talked about money you talk about it being sex stronger relationship yeah that's right it just makes you stronger together and whatever we do now we do it together yeah and once again we get back to that 60 strong mate like it just bonded us like anything we'd be totally lost without it do you reckon you might do it again in a year or two or something oh yeah definitely yeah yeah
[1:05:47] Have you kept any of the habits?
[1:05:48] Like do you still go to the gym every now and then, still walk every now and then if you can't go to the gym?
[1:05:54] Do you still listen to the podcasts every now and then?
[1:05:56] What have you kept out of that?
[1:05:58] A whole lot.
[1:05:59] A whole lot?
[1:05:59] I think we've had one alcoholic drink, like a few drinks with a dinner, still eating right.
[1:06:07] So the grog thing, when you stop it for long enough, you kind of realise you don't now, you feel better without it.
[1:06:13] Yeah.
[1:06:13] I've got bottles of wine in the fridge that I'd...
[1:06:16] purchase prior to doing 60 Strong and they're still there.
[1:06:19] You know, like I'm not even.
[1:06:20] Yeah, I think I've had four cans of beer since we've finished.
[1:06:23] Wow.
[1:06:23] He's drinking some other protein.
[1:06:26] I drink the no-carb beer now.
[1:06:29] Yeah, you did that, didn't you?
[1:06:30] Like I haven't missed a 10,000 step since we've stopped.
[1:06:32] Yeah.
[1:06:33] A day.
[1:06:33] I think one day last week I did 22,000 in a day.
[1:06:37] But we go to gym three days.
[1:06:39] We're up at four o'clock in the morning.
[1:06:40] We're at the gym by 4.30.
[1:06:41] I'm back home.
[1:06:43] Mate, just feel better.
[1:06:44] I'm cooking again.
[1:06:45] I will call on Papa Macros again.
[1:06:47] I think we need Papa Macros again.
[1:06:48] She slipped down a bit from cooking.
[1:06:51] Even if it's for – you might just go, you know what?
[1:06:54] All of our lunches, all of our dinners, there's once a day where it's convenient, clean, healthy, and it only costs sex.
[1:07:01] Yeah.
[1:07:02] And then you've only got to deal with breakfast.
[1:07:04] Yeah, that's right.
[1:07:05] You might just make it one meal a day for both of you.
[1:07:07] 10 meals, 14, you know, 12 meals a week or something.
[1:07:10] We're big on just our dinners because of our lifestyle.
[1:07:12] Yeah, because by then you're knackered.
[1:07:14] Yeah.
[1:07:14] You get home from the gym, heat it up.
[1:07:16] You might even just do that.
[1:07:17] Yeah.
[1:07:17] 100%.
[1:07:18] And we always freeze a couple when we get them.
[1:07:21] Oh, yes.
[1:07:21] Just in case.
[1:07:22] So that if we're busy or we're out and about and we eat out, we don't waste it.
[1:07:26] Always straight away, I get the delivery, I chuck a couple in the freezer.
[1:07:28] Yeah, well, I think we've got four sitting there now, we said, the other day.
[1:07:31] Just in case we get home late one night.
[1:07:32] Yeah, it's helpful.
[1:07:33] No, definitely.
[1:07:34] So I'm hearing a lot about structure.
[1:07:37] Yes.
[1:07:38] Yep.
[1:07:38] A lot of structure as opposed to fly by the seat of your pants.
[1:07:42] Yeah.
[1:07:42] Yeah.
[1:07:43] More like you just feel my mind myself after that 60 days is just.
[1:07:48] Much better.
[1:07:49] I was pinging before that.
[1:07:50] I was stressing about stuff like cows not carving properly, the workers not doing their stuff properly.
[1:07:54] Yeah.
[1:07:55] Mine just, it was just, I wouldn't, if I got five hours sleep, I was doing well.
[1:07:59] Yeah.
[1:08:00] Now, after that, it's, yeah.
[1:08:03] We're in bed early, though.
[1:08:04] We're relaxed.
[1:08:05] You know, we're getting the correct amount of sleep now because our day is full.
[1:08:10] Yeah.
[1:08:11] But, yeah, we're...
[1:08:12] But just your mind itself, just the best thing, just, yeah, recommend it.
[1:08:16] He's planning to spend some money on a sauna, too, after your recommendation.
[1:08:21] Best thing you could ever do.
[1:08:23] I've been doing one in the Highlands and...
[1:08:25] Best ever.
[1:08:26] Like to sleep like a baby.
[1:08:27] Oh, yeah.
[1:08:29] We've just got a hyperbaric chamber as well.
[1:08:31] Oh, my God.
[1:08:32] Don't keep saying this stuff.
[1:08:34] Our garage is going to be full of stuff.
[1:08:36] Yeah, Nick put a video up last night.
[1:08:37] He's walking around.
[1:08:39] Oh, man.
[1:08:39] We've got a hyperbaric chamber, and I use that.
[1:08:42] Sleep like a baby.
[1:08:43] Do you?
[1:08:44] Wow.
[1:08:44] They reckon that the hyperbolic shame, but I don't know the exact data, Beck was something, but if you sit in it for like 30 or 45 minutes, they reckon it's like a four-hour sleep or something.
[1:08:53] Oh, wow.
[1:08:54] I don't know the exact number.
[1:08:55] I'd have to look it up.
[1:08:56] But it's literally the result of it is like that sort of rest.
[1:09:00] And I'm a bad sleeper as it is.
[1:09:01] Yeah.
[1:09:02] There's so much going on.
[1:09:03] Yeah, you wouldn't have a sleeper.
[1:09:04] Like I used that, I have to get the video on that.
[1:09:07] I used that last night, and then I'm...
[1:09:10] You're ready to go?
[1:09:10] Oh, great sleep.
[1:09:12] Greg's a track at all in the aura ring and all that stuff.
[1:09:13] Great sleep.
[1:09:14] And I was like, oh, good.
[1:09:15] Yeah, that's what I noticed on the tracking on it.
[1:09:17] I'm 60 strong.
[1:09:18] Like, I went from, I don't know, a score of 45 or 40 over the sleeping.
[1:09:23] Yeah.
[1:09:23] And now I think my average is 86.
[1:09:26] Wow.
[1:09:26] That's a big, that's twice as, twice as good as sleep.
[1:09:29] Yeah.
[1:09:30] Unbelievable.
[1:09:31] So would you say to, especially, I mean, given your background there,
[1:09:34] Would you say to people in farming and ag and all of that, look after yourself?
[1:09:39] And you feel better for it?
[1:09:41] Yes.
[1:09:41] And ask for help?
[1:09:42] Yeah.
[1:09:43] Whether it's the work, whether it's the business, whether it's the tax, whether it's your health, finances, ask for help.
[1:09:49] Just anything in life, just put your hand up.
[1:09:51] Yeah.
[1:09:51] There's an expert there for it, right?
[1:09:53] Yeah, 100%.
[1:09:53] It's always someone who will talk to you and just say, yep, this is the way we're going to go.
[1:09:58] Life's good.
[1:09:59] And budget.
[1:10:00] Yeah, and budget, yeah.
[1:10:01] And budget.
[1:10:02] I think it's really important.
[1:10:03] And talk to each other.
[1:10:04] Yeah.
[1:10:06] Yeah.
[1:10:07] And find yourself a hot young stud.
[1:10:10] Keep him away from cats.
[1:10:11] Yeah, that's right.
[1:10:12] No cats involved.
[1:10:14] She's my tiger.
[1:10:15] Oh, wow.
[1:10:17] Darling.
[1:10:18] Well, guys, I want to thank you for being so, I guess, open and honest with everyone and being so playful.
[1:10:24] We're going to get to work over the next week for you to see if we can turn the two current properties with the three rents into four or five, etc.,
[1:10:34] uh maybe get back to ram and then we're going to do a part two of this in the next couple of months if we can get you get it in again to see where we've ended up to show people what's possible yep um because once you're open to the process and and you take on board the advice you never know what you could achieve and i think it'd be really cool
[1:10:50] especially from your industry for people that they're going these guys went from selling a home and some cash and not knowing what to do to two properties with three incomes to four properties with five you know yeah there's a really cool journey here that i hope you know glad you guys are comfortable to share to show people that you can have a crack yeah because then there's there's life after farming
[1:11:10] true and i think life after work and you can plan to go you know what i want to give my body a break in 10 years i don't want to be worrying about whether this calves like all of that those things that could go wrong at some point in life we do need to just let our brains just take a break yes yeah otherwise you just work your whole life
[1:11:29] You do.
[1:11:30] And it's too much, like, it's sad, but there's too many cancer things not getting around these days.
[1:11:34] Yeah, a lot of people.
[1:11:34] And they're dying too young and, you know, I don't want to be in that situation.
[1:11:38] I want to enjoy my life and, like, go back to Trace being a bit older and we want to have retirement life together and shut our lives off and just go, this is us.
[1:11:46] Get up out of bed, go for a coffee, go walk on the beach.
[1:11:49] Easy.
[1:11:49] Nice and easy.
[1:11:50] Easy.
[1:11:51] I love it.
[1:11:51] We'd like to thank you, mate.
[1:11:52] Like, you've done an awesome job with us, your team, just really, really well.
[1:11:57] Appreciate it.
[1:11:57] It's all the team.
[1:11:58] Yeah.
[1:11:59] I play a very, very small public, but very small role now as a founder.
[1:12:04] And I mean, obviously it's the things that, and I've got to think back, it's the things Beck and I built over the years that have proven to work.
[1:12:10] Yeah.
[1:12:11] We now have handed the reins to some amazing human beings and it's just proven to work.
[1:12:15] As long as you see it through.
[1:12:16] yeah yeah you know we sack a lot of clients because it's oh this doesn't want to take it off your piss off yeah but you can't argue with crazy either no so every now and then they slip through the cracks but if people are prepared to take the advice do the work it's very simple it's it's numbers yeah numbers stack up or they don't so before we do wrap up is there anything you want to ask me while you got me
[1:12:39] At REM, Brett asked you a question about, just quickly while we were taking photos, whether you were interested in buying a farm.
[1:12:48] Yeah.
[1:12:50] And you quickly told us no, but we know that Keith Urban and Nicole Kidman are selling theirs in the Highlands.
[1:12:57] Yeah.
[1:12:58] We thought that maybe that one would be one that would suit you for Infinity Farm stays.
[1:13:03] Absolutely not.
[1:13:07] It's a good getaway.
[1:13:09] As you have a family, kids can come in and play.
[1:13:12] I'm as handy as an ashtray.
[1:13:14] He'll help.
[1:13:15] He'll work.
[1:13:16] Beck and I, because we were doing a reno and we're doing this, and then we moved into the unit on the beach.
[1:13:23] And all this stuff.
[1:13:24] And now, and now we're like, no more.
[1:13:26] No, we're selling all of that.
[1:13:27] And we're going to buy our forever home.
[1:13:29] Good.
[1:13:29] And settle.
[1:13:30] Yeah.
[1:13:30] We've moved.
[1:13:31] Yeah.
[1:13:31] I don't know.
[1:13:32] 13, 14 times in 11, 12 years.
[1:13:34] Yeah.
[1:13:35] And cause we bought a place and made good money.
[1:13:36] And then, you know, we had a bigger place and started here and worked our way up, then went back down.
[1:13:40] And, and we've been very, um, fortunate and blessed in what we've done even with our own home frequently.
[1:13:47] Um, but I'm as handy as an ashtray on a motorbike.
[1:13:50] Yeah.
[1:13:51] But I wouldn't even know what to do with that We could go back to the cat bit mate You hold the tail Yeah I'll hold the tail You can do what you need to do We can swap it around
[1:14:03] tag team isn't it yeah because i mean i yeah i would love that but even now i'm saying to becca oh you know we're buying this beautiful big property i'm like gonna get some dogs gonna get some full-on trained dogs if i'm traveling this and that you know like protection she's like and then we've had beautiful babe fur babies before and lost one and the other one's broken you know little frenchies and they're like sausage dogs come on you need a cavoodle
[1:14:26] But then the fur and then because we travel.
[1:14:30] We've got the US launching now as well.
[1:14:33] So with the US launching, it's like I'm here, I'm US.
[1:14:36] I'm here, I'm US.
[1:14:38] And Bec's like, we're not doing bloody dogs.
[1:14:40] I'm like, protection dogs, security dogs.
[1:14:42] And she's like, oh.
[1:14:44] So I'm working on the animals thing, but let alone the farm thing.
[1:14:47] So I suppose like, I don't know.
[1:14:49] Although, I tell you what, every time I go to Queenstown, Oh, yeah.
[1:14:55] I look at, because you can buy properties there with like water rights and this and they've got strain on it.
[1:15:00] So I think it's so clean and green and that.
[1:15:02] Yeah, it goes to clear.
[1:15:03] And is it, not Shakira, who is it?
[1:15:06] There's a famous singer, I can't remember her name anyway, and her and her, they're split now.
[1:15:11] But they own basically half of the valley out there out to Cadrona.
[1:15:16] And it's all like, it's preservation and stuff.
[1:15:18] But every time I go out there versus, you know, a bit bad in Australia, it's so green and clean.
[1:15:24] And I think...
[1:15:25] You know, something here with some water on the... Kind of like a... What's the word for it?
[1:15:31] Like a doomsday prepper?
[1:15:32] Get ready.
[1:15:34] Get all ready.
[1:15:35] Got water and all this sort of stuff.
[1:15:37] Just in case.
[1:15:38] I do love it, obviously, growing up in the Illawarra and having friends out the back at the bottom of... Yeah.
[1:15:44] Bottom of...
[1:15:46] the mountain there and the highlands and jamboree and all that's like do love it yeah just useless yeah yeah i'm absolutely useless i think it's a no yeah yeah ask us next time we'll see ask mark yeah actually i want a bigger property yeah well another question i have for you it's like you've asked us what our future holds so where do you see yourself in 10 years
[1:16:09] Yeah, 10 years is a really, really good one.
[1:16:12] We're hoping to start a family next year.
[1:16:15] Yep.
[1:16:17] Keep saying we bought the forever home, but we bought the forever home.
[1:16:21] So I think for us now, it's, I don't know about 10 years, but the next sort of 12 to 24 months,
[1:16:29] is really focused on the client community and the team.
[1:16:34] Yes.
[1:16:36] So Beck and I are really, really slowly but surely taking a back seat.
[1:16:40] And that's sort of a transition too to family.
[1:16:44] I've done a big, hard 12, 13-year slog.
[1:16:48] Yeah.
[1:16:49] And it's been a big slog.
[1:16:50] It wasn't what people see now and some people in the industry have got a lot of respect for because they know we talk to each other.
[1:16:57] Others are just jealous of or get the shits or don't like me, whatever.
[1:17:00] But what we see now, I mean, I put out this year to do $500,000.
[1:17:03] Last year was $200,000 plus.
[1:17:05] It's about $50,000 in presence and this and that for the Kmart Salvos.
[1:17:10] This year I said I wanted to achieve $500,000.
[1:17:11] I thought it was a big stretch.
[1:17:13] What is it this morning?
[1:17:15] I was in Dubai when we finally – we've been chasing the code for months because –
[1:17:20] I'm really conscious of wanting to deploy the cash, the gifts, the food, all that.
[1:17:26] I want to make sure the salvos have got it to deploy well before Christmas.
[1:17:30] And I will say to anyone listening, if you're struggling this year, please reach out for help.
[1:17:34] Yeah, 100%.
[1:17:34] You know, I remember, and I've been a recipient, that we had welfare put black and gold food tins in the cupboard and they connected our electricity because it was disconnected and...
[1:17:44] There's some amazing services out there that people donate to and the Salvos is just one of them.
[1:17:49] They do a lot, meals on Christmas Day, kids' school supplies next year and all this stuff.
[1:17:53] But I really am conscious I want it deployed early enough.
[1:17:57] I don't want it sitting in a bank account or presents being picked up Christmas Eve.
[1:18:02] So we've been chasing them so hard.
[1:18:04] And we got the link the other week, maybe two weeks ago.
[1:18:07] And anyway, the first we got the link.
[1:18:09] Okay, great.
[1:18:10] I did a little video by the pool and said, hey, we've got the link.
[1:18:13] So off we go.
[1:18:15] And I sent it out.
[1:18:16] And even just like accountants, financial planners, people we know, builders, solicitors, anyone that was sort of business associates even or common interests.
[1:18:27] And it got to the 500 grand in four and a half days.
[1:18:30] I think it was.
[1:18:31] Yeah.
[1:18:31] Four and a half days.
[1:18:34] I processed it now so I can talk about it.
[1:18:37] And today, this morning when I looked, when I woke up, I think it was 721,000.
[1:18:41] Oh, yeah.
[1:18:42] Yeah.
[1:18:42] I think it was 721,000.
[1:18:44] So we keep moving.
[1:18:44] The target's gone from five to six to seven.
[1:18:47] I think maybe 7.
[1:18:48] Yeah.
[1:18:49] 721,000 this morning.
[1:18:50] That's fantastic.
[1:18:51] Yeah.
[1:18:52] That's kudos to people just like yourselves.
[1:18:55] You know, that's support.
[1:18:56] But it just goes to show that when any organisation does the right thing by people and you help them get to where they need to be, they'll support you in return.
[1:19:07] The appreciation.
[1:19:07] That's been a really...
[1:19:10] That's been a really rewarding feeling for people to care, to go, hey, thank you.
[1:19:16] By the way, how do I help you?
[1:19:18] And I'm saying, I'm good financially.
[1:19:20] There's something I care about.
[1:19:22] That fills me up.
[1:19:24] We get back to that 60 strong because obviously Trace the winner and I'm the runner up.
[1:19:28] We've got a fair bit of money coming for that.
[1:19:31] We sat down.
[1:19:32] We said we didn't have that money.
[1:19:35] We put a fair chunk into that Kmart stuff.
[1:19:37] Yeah, and then you were shopping yesterday like it was Christmas.
[1:19:41] All the Nerf guns.
[1:19:42] Yeah, Nerf, Nerf.
[1:19:43] And I just said, I want the biggest Nerf gun for these kids.
[1:19:45] And I wingly teared up and came up yesterday.
[1:19:47] Walking around.
[1:19:48] It didn't really hit me until I picked it up and I went, some...
[1:19:51] Some poor little kid.
[1:19:53] That's bullshit.
[1:19:54] To talk to that, it's not just the kid.
[1:19:57] So I know talking to mum, that feeling you have, because when you do think about it, and people with kids take the kids in, when you realise that on Christmas, even before Christmas Day, that parent is going to have so much fucking relief.
[1:20:11] Oh, the kid has a present and that smile and that anxiety then like for me mum explained I thought it was a business as a kid, but mum's explained.
[1:20:19] It's not a business.
[1:20:20] That was a strangest kindness never going to meet that kid.
[1:20:24] I think whoever that was that could be passed away and whoever that was that bought me that present.
[1:20:28] Yeah, those couple of years.
[1:20:30] Look at the effect it's had.
[1:20:31] It really hits home, mate.
[1:20:32] Like, it was mind-blowing yesterday.
[1:20:34] It's pretty special.
[1:20:35] Yeah.
[1:20:36] And it's a good feeling.
[1:20:37] It's probably the most powerful natural drug on the planet.
[1:20:41] Yeah.
[1:20:41] It's a pretty big high.
[1:20:43] Absolutely.
[1:20:44] Yeah, it's pretty cool.
[1:20:46] Yeah.
[1:20:46] I'm not going to talk about it anymore.
[1:20:48] No, you two boys are bloody getting all emotional on me here.
[1:20:51] Yeah, I was never in a full 360.
[1:20:53] You need to bring some tissues in.
[1:20:55] Hey, real men cry.
[1:20:57] Yeah, that's right.
[1:20:59] Years ago, you go, I don't believe in that shit.
[1:21:02] That's right.
[1:21:03] Any of my mates watching, it's not real tears.
[1:21:05] Yeah, no.
[1:21:07] I just sprayed a beard.
[1:21:09] He's got the sprinklers on.
[1:21:11] Well done.
[1:21:12] Really proud of you guys.
[1:21:13] And thank you for embracing in our community what we believe in.
[1:21:18] It's really important for us.
[1:21:19] So it's one of many causes.
[1:21:21] It's probably just the public one, if that makes sense.
[1:21:23] Bec and I and the team, we do a lot with, you know, we've got only 200.
[1:21:27] Mobile phones.
[1:21:29] Do you have a drop-off box at the party?
[1:21:32] We can arrange that through reception.
[1:21:35] I probably will arrange it.
[1:21:36] Actually, I will arrange that and let everyone know too if anyone can bring them.
[1:21:39] We donate, we've got 200 staff every, I don't know if it's every year or two years, all new, you know, latest mobile phones so you can text them and stuff.
[1:21:47] And we donate all of those to DV safe phones.
[1:21:50] Yeah.
[1:21:51] So it's basically domestic violence safe phones.
[1:21:53] Yep.
[1:21:54] A lot of people escaping DV, men, women, whatever, coercive control, they don't have access to communicate for help.
[1:22:01] Yes.
[1:22:01] So if they ever do find themselves leaving...
[1:22:04] um this organization and all the banks supported as well and big corporates we're a small drop in the ocean yeah but you know a couple of hundred phones every year or two and clients as well would take that at mass and a lot of people with an old smartphone in the drawer we do and that's charging cable smartphone wipe it uh they double check and wipe them uh we also donate some cash as well because then they put sim cards in them brand new numbers with some prepaid credit
[1:22:29] perfect giving somebody the ability to call their their mother brother sister help family hey i'm here i'm safe i'm in crisis accommodation all that sort of stuff we do a lot in the background surrounding that sort of dv crisis stuff but we don't talk about it or say where and what obviously for privacy reasons that's a personal thing again
[1:22:50] But the Kmart Salvo is a big one that we just very publicly... Yeah, fantastic.
[1:22:54] I think the community's embraced it.
[1:22:55] I think it's something... And that's cool for me because I think by the time Beck and I have children, all our clients' children have gone in and bought... And then I think, oh, like Oscar, young Oscar, going in and buying and he'll have kids maybe in five... And then Oscar teaching his kids.
[1:23:09] I think that's something that we should have just helped just explode.
[1:23:13] Yeah.
[1:23:13] And I don't think there's any reason...
[1:23:16] for any child to go without a gift or two at Christmas in Australia or any parent to not ask for help to get that gift or food hamper or whatever it may be.
[1:23:26] That's right.
[1:23:27] There's got to be one day of the year where everyone can just put aside all their differences, put away all the crap and actually give unconditionally and everyone have a great day.
[1:23:36] Yeah.
[1:23:37] And not go hungry.
[1:23:38] I agree.
[1:23:39] Yeah, 100%.
[1:23:39] It's got to be one bloody day of the year.
[1:23:42] One.
[1:23:42] Just give us one.
[1:23:43] One.
[1:23:44] But you guys have been awesome.
[1:23:45] Wonderful.
[1:23:45] Thank you.
[1:23:46] We're going to get to work for you on a strategy.
[1:23:48] Yeah.
[1:23:48] See if we can maybe slip that in and get you back up for REM.
[1:23:50] Perfect.
[1:23:52] And then we'll do a part two of this and see if the cats progress to the tigers, progress to the lions and tigers and bears.
[1:23:59] Well done, boys.
[1:24:01] That's fantastic.
[1:24:01] You've been awesome, guys.
[1:24:02] Thank you.
[1:24:03] And I really appreciate being so open and honest.
[1:24:05] And yeah, well done.
[1:24:06] Thank you, mate.
[1:24:07] Perfect.
[1:24:07] Thank you.
[1:24:08] Thanks, guys.
[1:24:09] We appreciate it.
[1:24:10] You're fucking gone.
[1:24:11] See ya.
