In this episode, Chevonne sits down with Jarrod and Amanda to unpack how joining Infinity transformed their approach to money from unstructured spending to a clear system with accountability and purpose. They were initially drawn in after seeing Graeme on socials and realising how much money was being lost through lack of structure and interest repayments. Before Infinity, they lived comfortably but without real financial direction, spending freely and reacting rather than planning. While they avoided unnecessary debt on big purchases, day to day spending lacked structure and control.Since joining, they’ve implemented a strict weekly allowance and clear budgeting system, helping them stay disciplined even through challenges like medical setbacks. Every dollar now has a job, with surplus funds consistently directed toward their mortgage and long-term goals. They credit the structure, support, and community for keeping them on track, with their key message being simple: commit, stay consistent, and just start. 👉 Watch the free webinar to start your journey: https://bit.ly/43V2jKN

[0:00] It's so simple.
[0:00] It's frustrating.
[0:02] Like, why was I not doing this before?
[0:04] But before we didn't have the backing.
[0:06] We didn't have the RMs.
[0:08] We didn't have strats.
[0:09] Like, that's the difference.
[0:11] Like, sure, you can go after it yourself.
[0:14] But we chose to have the backing and we can only talk about our journey that once we've got you, we have nailed it.
[0:21] We feel like we've nailed it.
[0:23] And not only silly.
[0:24] That you guys have all got as well.
[0:26] Yeah.
[0:26] All in one place is, yeah, amazing.
[0:29] Yeah.
[0:29] money isn't rude of all evil the fucking lack of it is not money the lack of understanding money when i put that into emphasis when i realize that psychological effect and how it hit our family i have to be in the fucking way you are now watching the money man to a podcast with graham home graham home graham home
[0:49] You're fucking going to sue you.
[0:51] I'm Siobhan.
[0:52] I'm a relationship manager here at Infinity.
[0:54] And these are my clients, Jared and Amanda.
[0:57] Welcome.
[0:58] I'm good.
[0:59] So tell me, what brought you to Infinity in the first place?
[1:04] I'd have to say the desire to do better.
[1:07] I reckon, uh, CNG on, uh, on socials definitely triggered our interest in, in this, uh, this company.
[1:14] And once we actually got to see how much we were going backwards with giving money away to the banks, we thought this is the key to the door.
[1:24] So yeah, just doing better for ourselves.
[1:28] Yeah.
[1:29] And what was your mentality before you were with Infinity around money?
[1:34] Have fun.
[1:35] Spend.
[1:37] Yeah, we didn't go without.
[1:38] Definitely didn't go without.
[1:40] And we wouldn't, yeah, hold back if we wanted something.
[1:43] We'd just buy it.
[1:45] So, yeah, like definitely big purchases we'd save up and pay cash for.
[1:49] We'd never like get a loan or put on a credit card as such.
[1:54] But, yeah, no, if we'd go to the shop and see something, we would just buy it.
[1:58] I feel like that's very typical, you know, before you sort of learn about money.
[2:02] Yeah, definitely.
[2:03] Work hard, earn hard.
[2:04] Yeah, that's right.
[2:05] That's right.
[2:05] We did do a lot of travel beforehand as well.
[2:08] So we did get to experience a lot of things as well.
[2:11] So it wasn't all, you know, wasting on things.
[2:14] We did get to experience life.
[2:16] Yeah, good.
[2:17] And how do you feel about money now?
[2:20] On a mission.
[2:23] On a mission to get that home loan down.
[2:25] Yeah.
[2:25] So, yeah, definitely a lot more smarter with our money.
[2:31] Yep.
[2:31] And happy to see it work for us, which is good.
[2:34] Yeah, you guys have stayed on track, like, the whole time.
[2:37] Yeah.
[2:37] Which is amazing.
[2:38] And how does it feel to have someone actually in your corner keeping you accountable, like myself and your finance strategist, your wealth strategist, the community?
[2:47] Yeah.
[2:47] Awesome.
[2:48] It's, um, it's nice to know that you've got the backing when you've got the questions.
[2:52] If you, if you did start to vary out of the lines a little bit, then you know that they're going to pull you straight back in because it's all, it's all for the greater good.
[3:00] So yeah, you're only as good as your commitment is to the cause and yeah, you guys are there to back us if you sort of slip just a little bit or pat you on the back if you're doing really well.
[3:10] Like that's, that's the nice part about it.
[3:13] And I feel like you want to make you guys proud of us.
[3:16] So you also like, oh, I don't want to do that.
[3:19] I don't want Siobhan to get angry.
[3:21] So, yeah, you do have that, you know, sitting in the background.
[3:23] I don't want you guys to be scared of me.
[3:26] But have you ever had a moment where I've had to pull you in line or?
[3:30] Not yet.
[3:31] Not yet.
[3:31] Not yet.
[3:32] I think we've been good.
[3:34] Yeah.
[3:35] Yeah, I think that's also, yeah, made you go, should I or shouldn't I?
[3:39] What would Siobhan say?
[3:40] Yeah.
[3:40] Yeah, you guys actually have been really good.
[3:43] So, yeah.
[3:44] As I said, even if there's been purchases from, say, a lot before, like Big W or something like that, I put notes in there like what it's for because I don't want anything that I'm just, you know, going and spending when it's only the necessities that really we've needed to do.
[3:57] So, yeah.
[3:58] Although you guys have really sat on track with your FFF and not overspending, have you had any moments where you've...
[4:05] I don't know, maybe needed to overspend or wanted to overspend?
[4:09] And I guess how did you come out of that thought?
[4:14] I don't think it's come up yet, has it?
[4:15] No.
[4:16] No, not on...
[4:18] I had knee surgery, but apart from that, that was probably the biggest thing that, which obviously we, you know, let you know that, you know, this amount of money would be coming out and you wouldn't be getting employment paid for a little while.
[4:30] Yeah, no, as far as FFF and overspending, if you're accountable to you and ourselves, if there's only $20 left and you want to go and buy lunch and it's 25, then that's the end of the story.
[4:45] You don't do it.
[4:46] There's no, there's no need to go and...
[4:48] drag a little bit more money out and and be yeah yeah ignorant to the fact that this is the limit 500 is where it is and you wait till it resets again so you guys are happy to make sacrifices to make sure you're not overspending or topping up your fff yeah definitely i won't allow it i'm like no 500 is our allowance and that's it
[5:13] It's crazy.
[5:14] You almost, sometimes you could be $100 a head and you can still go and spend and reward yourself in that sense if you want to, or it's a mini challenge and it's another $100 off your mortgage that was going towards the off-deck calculator.
[5:28] So if you do have extra money in your FFF at the end of the week, what do you do with it?
[5:32] Put it straight in the mortgage.
[5:33] Amazing.
[5:35] Good answer.
[5:39] Okay, and you guys have a two-year-old.
[5:41] So what does it feel like setting a good example for him money-wise and putting these structures in place now?
[5:49] How do you think that's going to help him in the future?
[5:52] Oh, massively.
[5:54] It's almost a non-negotiable that he's come into a world where he should be succeeding, where we'll set him up with the right structure, the right mentality, all the knowledge that we've got out of infinity.
[6:05] Yeah.
[6:06] So his pathway through life should be a matter of choosing what he wants on an educated decision.
[6:13] And it's non-negotiable.
[6:14] Just this is the way to do it.
[6:17] This is the right way to do it.
[6:18] And yeah, just shoot for the stars.
[6:20] Do you think it's a bit different to what you guys learnt from your parents?
[6:25] We both learnt budgeting from our parents.
[6:28] I think it's just more the mortgage side of things.
[6:30] Yeah.
[6:31] So like you'd kind of just think, oh yeah, 30 years and that's what you've got.
[6:34] Yeah.
[6:35] So yeah, being able to help him with the mortgage knowledge.
[6:39] Aspect of life.
[6:40] Yeah.
[6:40] That'll be really good.
[6:41] That'll be the difference from our parents.
[6:42] Yeah.
[6:43] I mean, and they've done great over the years.
[6:45] They, I mean, they don't have their mortgages anymore, which is right.
[6:49] Yeah.
[6:50] But that was, seems to be their ceiling where the next generation of Amanda and I is, yes, it's great to pay off that debt, but there's so much more to be had once you've got that equity, then you can start leveraging the right way.
[7:04] Yeah.
[7:05] A little bit of risk, a lot of reward, everything's calculated, but yeah, information's key and.
[7:09] Yeah.
[7:10] We're going to be full of knowledge by the time he's ready to buy a house.
[7:14] And yeah, hopefully we can help him along.
[7:16] Yeah, that's awesome.
[7:18] And you guys have friends in the Infinity community.
[7:21] So what's it like to be a part of this huge community that keeps growing?
[7:26] You know, like community events, when you go to REM meeting new people, what's it like, I guess, to meet with people who are on the same page as you?
[7:35] So good.
[7:35] Yeah.
[7:36] Yeah, it's good to be around people with the same mindset.
[7:38] Yeah.
[7:40] Yeah, you can actually, they know what you, you know, what your goal is as well, which is really good.
[7:45] Super open.
[7:46] Yeah.
[7:46] Being in a space where, and we hear a few times now, like,
[7:51] Talking about your debt versus my debt, it's taboo because of whatever reason, like, I don't even know if there is a reason, but now you're in this space and you go, yeah, look, this is our number.
[8:02] This is where we're headed.
[8:03] This is the rate that is going to drop.
[8:05] And they go, Hey, like we're only 80 grand behind you.
[8:07] So our timeframe is the same.
[8:09] Let's, you know what I mean?
[8:10] Let's compare how we're tracking.
[8:12] Yeah.
[8:12] And that open forum just makes you feed off of each other's positivity and, yeah, it reminds you that you're not the only one in the race.
[8:19] For sure.
[8:20] Everyone's going to be a winner at the end.
[8:21] So, yeah, that's really, really cool.
[8:24] Love that.
[8:24] That's awesome.
[8:25] I've had clients tell me that they've opened up their banking app and showed people their home loan worth of regional, which I feel like you wouldn't do.
[8:33] Oh, yeah.
[8:33] You know, like you said, it's very taboo to talk about things like that.
[8:36] Yeah, we do that.
[8:37] We made good friends with a couple that we met at REM.
[8:39] Um, and yeah, we, we have our own little group chat and, um, yeah, we did that.
[8:44] We had a screenshot of the rapid Arifay structure, the ODC.
[8:48] Yeah.
[8:48] You guys killed it that month.
[8:50] Like, it was awesome.
[8:51] Like you pat each other on the back.
[8:52] Yeah.
[8:53] And it's nice to have, yeah, the, you know, people acknowledging and your achievements as well.
[8:58] That's amazing.
[8:59] Yeah.
[8:59] It is good.
[9:00] Yeah, keeps you guys on track and people to talk to.
[9:03] It's amazing.
[9:04] We'll join the community event next week.
[9:06] Yay.
[9:06] So, yeah.
[9:08] Awesome.
[9:08] Do it all again and smile and say hi.
[9:12] Good.
[9:13] I love that.
[9:14] And what would you say to someone who is maybe on the fence about joining?
[9:18] Just do it.
[9:20] Yeah.
[9:20] You have nothing to lose and everything to gain.
[9:23] Yeah.
[9:24] Yeah.
[9:24] And be committed.
[9:26] Like it's the ideas and intentions are fantastic, but consistency and commitment is what's going to give you your results.
[9:34] So yeah, be a hundred percent in and don't look back for sure.
[9:38] It's a no bullshit strategy.
[9:39] Just, yeah, just, yeah.
[9:41] Yeah.
[9:41] Just do as you.
[9:42] It's so simple.
[9:43] It's frustrating.
[9:44] Like, why was I not doing this before?
[9:47] But before we didn't have the backing.
[9:49] We didn't have the RMs.
[9:50] We didn't have strats.
[9:51] Like, that's the difference.
[9:53] Like, sure, you can go after it yourself, but we chose to have the backing and we can only talk about our journey that once we've got you, we have nailed it.
[10:04] We feel like we've nailed it.
[10:06] And not only silly.
[10:07] That you guys have all got as well.
[10:09] Yeah.
[10:09] All in the one place is, yeah, amazing.
[10:11] Yeah.
[10:12] Yeah.
[10:12] And you guys are pros now, but at the beginning, it is nice to have that helping hand and guidance of like, you know, how to set up your accounts and your structure.
[10:20] Oh, definitely.
[10:21] Yeah.
[10:22] And that was just so easy as well.
[10:23] Yeah.
[10:23] Yeah.
[10:24] Everything has just been easy.
[10:25] And so, yeah, we're very grateful for you as well.
[10:27] And obviously you said like kind of form like a friendship.
[10:30] It's great.
[10:30] Yeah.
[10:30] You message each other and you don't get that with other people.
[10:33] No.
[10:34] And not typically in the finance world, like your broker and things.
[10:37] Yeah.
[10:38] Yeah.
[10:39] yeah that's good oh well thank you guys thanks for coming thank you
