The Cherry Family - Average income, 5 kids, son following in their footsteps. In this episode of The Money Mentor, the Cherry family shares how they shifted from financial struggle and limited money knowledge to clarity, discipline, and long term stability. After attending a motivational event featuring David Goggins and surprise speaker Graeme Holm, they were inspired to rethink their standards and direction, which eventually led them to Infinity and structured financial guidance. What began as a wake up call became a full family reset, grounded in education, accountability, and practical strategy. A powerful part of the story centres on their son Oscar, who set a bold goal to purchase property and worked multiple jobs to make it happen. His determination reflects the family’s new values around hard work, responsibility, and real world financial literacy. Now debt free and building agrowing property portfolio, the Cherry's focus on balanced living, meaningful family experiences, and passing strong financial habits to the next generation. Their journey highlights how mindset, structure, and community support can completely change a family’s trajectory. ## Transcript

[0:00] You guys got home pumped and I remember saying I was desperately, desperately wanting Oscar to have a bit of spark in his life, in his eyes I mean, and say that he was interested or excited by something.
[0:11] And I remember saying, how was David?
[0:13] How was David?
[0:13] And he just looked at me and he said, yeah, look, David was great, but there was this other guy, G. And I'll never forget it because I'm like, what?
[0:21] Because in my mind I thought it was just David Goggins as well.
[0:24] Money is the root of all evil, the fucking lack of it is.
[0:26] Not money, the lack of understanding money.
[0:29] When I put that into emphasis, when I realized that psychological effect and how it hit our family, I FDB all the fucking way.
[0:37] We'll be right back.
[1:07] and run a successful business.
[1:10] But this story doesn't stop with them.
[1:13] At just 16, their son Oscar lost a close friend and went searching for purpose.
[1:19] He learned something from Graham that school never taught him.
[1:23] How money really works.
[1:26] He left school, started working in a trade, saved relentlessly.
[1:31] Two jobs, 60-hour weeks.
[1:34] And in November 2025, his hard work paid off and Oscar bought his first investment property.
[1:42] This is a family rewriting their future and teaching the next generation to do the same.
[1:48] This is David, Jackie and Oscar.
[1:51] And this is an inspirational story you need to hear.
[1:55] Welcome back to another episode of The Money Mentor.
[1:58] And today we have the beautiful, part of the beautiful Cherry family here.
[2:01] We have David, Jackie and Oscar.
[2:03] Hello.
[2:03] How are we?
[2:04] Hello.
[2:04] Fantastic.
[2:04] Thanks, G. Good.
[2:05] Good.
[2:05] Thanks for joining us again.
[2:06] And we thought we'd pop you together this time to talk all things life, health, wealth, finance, family, et cetera.
[2:14] um i want to start with we've done a couple of podcasts so we've done them uh david and jackie together oscar on his own we thought we'd do one together today going back in time for any new viewers or listeners uh just quick version how did you find infinity when did you find infinity and what were you why why were you searching for something like infinity
[2:37] Sure.
[2:38] So Jackie and I were not dealing well with finances.
[2:42] We had some pretty bad debt built up.
[2:44] We were living a good life, enjoying travel and things like that.
[2:48] But it comes through, I suppose, just a moment in time where we had a bit of diversity within the family.
[2:54] young Oscar was feeling a little bit sort of down about life and sort of where to go forward.
[3:01] He'd had a bit of a tragic experience with a young lady in his life.
[3:05] So as part of that as parents, we decided what can we do to try and move forward.
[3:11] And lovely young Oscar said that David Goggins, motivational speaker was gonna be on in Melbourne.
[3:17] So I got some tickets and we went down to that.
[3:20] Did you put them on the credit card?
[3:21] I certainly did tap the credit card to do that, absolutely.
[3:25] And, look, it was an incredible experience.
[3:28] You know, I might get Oscar to talk to it, really.
[3:30] It was just a way of a sort of rebonding back, you know, just giving him a bit of a light to say that, you know, life is great, can be anything you wish it to be, and give him, I suppose, a wire, a purpose.
[3:41] You know, he was just sort of flat.
[3:43] He was ticking along at school and nothing really was sort of, I suppose, filling his cup that wasn't giving him the opportunity to move forward.
[3:50] So they would have had a whole heap of speakers that day because I know that by the time I came on, I was the last speaker before David Goggins and they were, they were livid.
[3:59] They were screaming, we want Goggins, chanting Goggins and saying in the crowd, we're going to boo anyone else.
[4:04] If another person comes on stage, we'll boo them off stage.
[4:07] It was pretty full on because I'm hearing it backstage going, oh, this is pretty wild.
[4:10] I mean, it was right next door to the DFO, you know, so everybody was sort of going out for food or shopping.
[4:16] and you know you're all but you know we're sort of wound up before there was a gentleman that stood up in the stage he actually told him to sit down you know because I think he just wanted to take a you know take a leap absolutely poor guy well let's talk to that for a second so Oscar how did you find that at the time things were a bit tough very tough
[4:34] And obviously you went along to that with, with dad.
[4:36] Yep.
[4:36] How did you find that day listening to, you know, there's obviously various speakers, so different industries, whether it's investments or business or life or health.
[4:46] Yep.
[4:46] What did you take from that day?
[4:48] Yeah, it was very broad.
[4:49] I don't know if I was the only one that went to the event, but I think we all might have assumed that the whole day was just David Goggins.
[4:56] Right.
[4:57] I certainly didn't think that we'd go there and there would be four or five, six speakers before David.
[5:04] But it was interesting.
[5:05] I guess when you go, you're like, you've paid for the ticket.
[5:09] You sort of want to sit down, you want to try and be involved.
[5:12] But a lot of the speakers, especially most of them before you, just didn't relate to anything that we needed.
[5:19] Maybe other people might need what they were trying to sell, but for us, it was quite boring.
[5:25] It didn't really set any sparks off and we kind of were a bit hungry.
[5:29] We were a bit frustrated.
[5:30] We're like, where's David Goggins?
[5:32] I think he was running behind.
[5:34] and then we had a quick look in the book and there was this Graeme Holm guy coming next.
[5:39] And no offence, we had no idea who you were and what you did or anything, but...
[5:43] We were thinking maybe this is the time where we'll get up, we'll go have some food and then we'll come back and watch David.
[5:48] Surely David's after that.
[5:49] Yeah.
[5:50] Absolutely.
[5:51] But something like I remember getting out of my seat and sort of getting ready to leave and something in dad, he must have read, there was a financial aspect to your speech and what you were sort of going there to talk about.
[6:04] Um, and he wanted to stay, he wanted to listen to the start of you and he, he just something in him told him to stay and watch and see what you had to offer.
[6:13] Um, Jackie and I have always been interested in property investment.
[6:16] When we were younger, we had a real crack.
[6:18] Right.
[6:18] Um, unfortunately we got it all wrong.
[6:21] Um, but you know, we still enjoyed that journey and, um, you know.
[6:26] I genuinely knew that our finances were in disorder.
[6:29] Right.
[6:30] You know, Jackie would hide a lot of that from me.
[6:32] She'd sit up in the wee hours of the morning sort of trying to juggle bills and pay things off just to protect my mental health, to be honest.
[6:39] Very proud to have five young boys.
[6:42] And always worked hard but not smart.
[6:46] And lacking that financial literacy, I think that was the key.
[6:49] You know, there was just something within me.
[6:51] And then when you walked out on stage, honestly, gee, you know, you're so raw, you're so real.
[6:57] Lots of profanities.
[6:58] And, you know, I make no excuses for anybody out there that's going to watch this because that's what draws every single one of your clients and the larger community to Graham, isn't it?
[7:07] You were real.
[7:08] You were real.
[7:08] You were different compared to anyone else that spoke that day.
[7:11] It was just you could tell when you were speaking that you weren't trying to sell anything.
[7:16] I didn't do a sales pitch either.
[7:19] I got something to offer you, but I think you've copped it all day.
[7:21] Yeah, that's right.
[7:22] So I'm actually fucking not going to bother.
[7:24] You weren't fast if people signed up or not.
[7:26] You just went out there, you told them what you can do for them and if they're interested, sign up.
[7:30] And just key takeaways, wasn't there?
[7:33] There was just light bulb moments that you would speak to.
[7:36] And then I think the polish for me, you know, truly high respect to Megan and Jeremy, watching them live, meeting them downstairs when I signed up.
[7:47] Real people, real stories, you know, just gave the credibility to what you'd said on stage.
[7:53] And, you know, Oscar and I come home and...
[7:56] You know, we were very celebrated.
[7:57] We enjoyed David Goggins.
[7:59] It was amazing.
[7:59] Don't get me wrong.
[8:00] It switched Oscar back onto that physical presence of wanting to move forward.
[8:05] But, you know, as we'll explain.
[8:07] It wasn't the outcome.
[8:08] That's right.
[8:09] You guys got home pumped.
[8:10] And I remember saying I was desperately, desperately wanting Oscar to have a bit of spark in his life, in his eyes, I mean, and say that he was interested or excited by something.
[8:20] And I remember saying, how was David?
[8:22] How was David?
[8:22] And he just looked at me and he said...
[8:24] Yeah, look, David was great, but there was this other guy, G. And I'll never forget it because I'm like, what?
[8:30] Because in my mind, I thought it was just David Goggins as well.
[8:32] I didn't anticipate other speakers either.
[8:35] And to be honest, I heard, like, I knew sort of that, like, I was only 16 at the time.
[8:39] So I knew sort of the concept was finances and helping you build your foundations and create a better life overall for yourself and...
[8:48] but I just genuinely thought you were a cool dude.
[8:51] Like I just.
[8:51] Oh, stop.
[8:52] I was like, and I said to mum, we went there for Goggins and he was really cool, but we left with Graham.
[8:58] We left with Graham.
[8:59] So.
[8:59] So I'm like, who's this Graham?
[9:01] What?
[9:02] And then David said, and don't get mad because.
[9:04] I'll put money on the credit card.
[9:05] There's just a little money to go forward again.
[9:07] He let me have the moment of, oh, thank gosh, you know, Oscar's looking a bit brighter, he's got some spark in his eye and then he sort of said, oh, by the way, I tapped the last of the credit card to pay for a weekend class.
[9:16] And even listening to you, just this realisation that this little piece of plastic that I really didn't understand what was going on or how it was paid or how it worked.
[9:28] You know, unfortunately, through a beautiful marriage and a great relationship, my wife had protected me for some 30 years about those responsibilities.
[9:36] Mm-hmm.
[9:37] And I'm proud to admit that because I'm a complete different person now with having three years under my belt in infinity.
[9:44] We've done a full circle.
[9:45] And, you know, I think that's what we're trying to get across to the rest of the beautiful public out there is if you absolutely listen and learn what you've got to say and the wider team, the staff in this, you can change your life and you can change your finances dramatically.
[10:02] And I think it needs to be said that, yes, that was a turning point for Oscar and he was excited, but after the Masterclass, that was when our life started to really take a big, sharp turn because we listened to the Masterclass and we absolutely loved you.
[10:14] And I just remember just saying to David, this is everything we could have ever wanted because I was a little bit cranky about the credit card and the weekend and what are we doing and who is this guy.
[10:24] But as soon as I started listening to you, I'm like, that makes so much sense.
[10:27] And since we've been involved in Infinity, so many people say the same things.
[10:31] It makes sense.
[10:32] But we weren't doing it.
[10:33] Yeah, well, there's thousands of us doing the same thing because it works.
[10:36] A hundred percent.
[10:37] And what happened at the very end, we were cutting up our credit cards, as most people do after the master class, and we were so pumped.
[10:43] And it wasn't ever about us looking for something.
[10:46] We weren't looking for you.
[10:48] Oscar found you.
[10:49] But it was beautiful because at the end of the class, Oscar had come in and out.
[10:53] All the kids had.
[10:54] They all had a bit of a listen of what's going on because it was really random for us to be doing this weekend class.
[10:59] It's not the normal thing for a family to do, right?
[11:01] Well, you know, as all excuses are, we've got sport here, we've got pick-ups, drop-offs, I need to cook.
[11:06] Yeah, and we did, of course.
[11:07] No.
[11:07] We get hundreds and I don't get to manage the socials anymore, but I see it.
[11:11] But the team get hundreds of messages, hey, I've looked at your dates for the next three months and we're busy.
[11:17] Can we have a meeting?
[11:17] And it's like, no, we haven't taken meetings for seven years.
[11:20] Seven years.
[11:21] If you want something amazing, you're going to have to sit your ass down and commit to it.
[11:25] Do the work.
[11:26] And that's what we've learnt.
[11:28] After six to eight hours, if you don't have a mathematical improved position, you get all your money back and you burn half a day or a day.
[11:34] Everybody goes off to their job.
[11:35] They don't get to do that.
[11:37] So sit down, head down, bum up and get into it.
[11:39] It's a big message from Infinity that you have to do the work.
[11:41] There's no easy fix.
[11:43] And that's kind of the point to what I'm saying with the master class.
[11:46] Oscar come to us and said...
[11:48] You know, I can see you're making big changes, Mum and Dad, and I want to...
[11:51] I think he said, Mum, I want to ask you something.
[11:54] I don't think he was worried too much about Dad.
[11:56] And he looked at us both and he said, I'm going to quit school.
[12:00] And in that moment I thought, no, no, you're such a brilliant...
[12:03] He was asking mum because you've got the tertiary.
[12:05] Yeah, yeah, yeah.
[12:06] Exactly.
[12:07] And I could see he's in year 11 and he's, you know, he was doing really well in engineering.
[12:11] I had this kind of vision that he might go that direction.
[12:13] Yeah.
[12:14] And he was just so top 10%.
[12:16] And I said to him, you need to really think about this.
[12:19] And he said, I've never been more sure in my life.
[12:22] Just the fact that Graeme said in his masterclass, you said that,
[12:28] you don't get taught these things at school.
[12:30] And that's what really related with me.
[12:32] Kiyosaki says it all the time.
[12:33] I've spent a lot of time with him and speaking to us that the memorisations of answers in a textbook is not a formal education.
[12:41] They consider it formal education.
[12:43] but it's not a plus a lot of it is not applicable in day-to-day life and they're changing that thankfully the education system is slowly slowly a bit archaic but but i guess evolving but whereas like real life experience or being on the tools or having a job and being two you know leaving and being two years ahead of your peers who end up with a hex debt and then can't get a job in their chosen field well that's
[13:05] That's right.
[13:05] And I said to Oscar, what do you want to do?
[13:07] You want to leave school to do what?
[13:09] And he said, I want to work with dad and I want to earn money so I can do what I've just been listening to Graeme talk about.
[13:14] I want to get out there and I want to build my own story, my own foundation and I want to prove that I've got something as well that I can show the world.
[13:22] Well, let's go back for a second.
[13:24] So this was...
[13:26] Coming out of COVID, 2022 is the world.
[13:29] Feb 2022 is the world sort of slowly opened up again.
[13:33] We're near Melbourne-based, Victorian, so we're locked up worst in the world.
[13:36] Yeah, yeah.
[13:37] It was tough times.
[13:38] I homeschooled five kids.
[13:39] Jackie was working at the front of healthcare and the boys were pretty disrupted.
[13:44] Yeah.
[13:45] Okay.
[13:46] So back then, Oscar 16, year 11 at school, big family, all boys, and pretty rough in there, obviously business, healthcare, etc., COVID.
[13:58] Financially, what was life like?
[14:00] For anyone who hasn't heard any of the other podcasts and they can go back and listen to them, what was life like financially at that point in time?
[14:06] Obviously, Oscar was going through some stuff at the time, but financially as a family, we had a mortgage, we had credit cards.
[14:12] What was life like?
[14:12] I sure did.
[14:13] It's embarrassing to sort of say now, but I know it helps a lot of people.
[14:17] We had two credit cards and the limits for both credit cards added up to $73,000.
[14:25] We also had a mortgage of $190,000.
[14:27] $190,000, yeah, one of the principal place of residence.
[14:30] And we juggled.
[14:32] We really did, especially over COVID when David wasn't working as much and, you know, I was still part-time.
[14:37] It was – looking back, I actually don't know.
[14:40] I don't really know how we did it, to be honest, but we did.
[14:43] And we justified, you know, still going on lots of trips.
[14:46] We always have travelled as a family.
[14:48] So, you know, that common theme that people lie to themselves because they just don't understand.
[14:54] We'd tap the credit card for everything.
[14:55] So we thought we cleared it every few months.
[14:58] Well, do you think it's easier to lie to yourself and get a bit of insulin?
[15:01] Of course it is, 100%.
[15:01] Lie to yourself and get ice cream for the night or lie to yourself and just order takeaway or pizza?
[15:05] David would do that.
[15:06] I'd work the weekend and he'd buy the kids Maccas and think that was bonding and that's a treat and that's nice and I'd be like, oh, man, it's just...
[15:13] I had no better literacy or understanding of how to do better or how to dig myself out.
[15:19] So I would just treat everybody in the spare of the moment.
[15:22] And do you remember when we cut the cards up?
[15:25] We were so excited.
[15:26] And then after we cut it, we were like, oh, my God, how are we going to –
[15:30] Another common occurrence, geez.
[15:31] Chopped up, how are we going to tap it to pay for the further steps?
[15:34] We thought it was our lifeline.
[15:35] How do we pay for our lifeline for this?
[15:37] How do we put Churchill in the car?
[15:38] Hang on a minute.
[15:39] How do we buy the grocery?
[15:40] How do we get Maccas?
[15:41] Absolutely.
[15:42] But it was the start of the learnings for us with Infinity.
[15:45] It was the start of many, many, many, many.
[15:46] There's no return now unless you start putting the card pieces back together.
[15:49] We had one investment property.
[15:50] which I had some emotional attachment to.
[15:53] And what we'd sort of done there is I had my dad in there.
[15:56] It was 21 years later.
[15:58] So we'd started out with a very simple sort of I'd hand-built it.
[16:01] We owed 50K.
[16:03] And we redrew and redrew and redrew to keep him in that home.
[16:06] It ended up at a quarter of a million dollars' worth of debt.
[16:08] Yeah.
[16:09] Slowly.
[16:10] Absolutely.
[16:10] Because, again, the banks just would contact us and say, would you like to redraw?
[16:15] There's been a property increase in the equity.
[16:16] Yeah.
[16:17] And we're like, this is fantastic.
[16:18] So we'd slip in a cruise, 10K.
[16:21] We'd pay for some dental for kids.
[16:23] So living on borrowed money.
[16:24] Absolutely.
[16:25] Which some people out there say is a strategy.
[16:27] Fuck, anyway.
[16:28] There's companies that say, oh, just use your equity.
[16:30] And it's cheap money and don't pay it off.
[16:31] And there was never once, G, a conversation with husband and wife around the table.
[16:36] or over a spreadsheet of what we were ever aiming for or where we were going just going through the motions absolutely oh probably three or four times we did go to the bank and we did say we want to clear this debt covert's done we did you know david completely built a pool complex out the back over covert so hit we tapped the card to build that that's why their credit cards were so high but i remember saying to david let's go back to the bank and get all this cleared and get back on track this is crazy refinance get the extra money
[17:01] that you get for refinancing.
[17:02] Clear that.
[17:03] Because 73 grand of cards at 15, 20%.
[17:05] That hurts.
[17:06] You're never going to pay that down.
[17:08] All we were doing was paying interest.
[17:09] But you know what, G, they wouldn't listen to me.
[17:11] They wouldn't help us.
[17:11] Because David worked for himself but didn't earn an income on paper, so that's relevant.
[17:16] Didn't pay tax.
[17:17] So the banks laughed at me.
[17:19] I literally walked out crying because they wouldn't help me.
[17:21] They wouldn't give me any idea on...
[17:23] what I could do to get out of what we had done.
[17:26] You know what they did do, though?
[17:27] They said we could increase your credit card limit.
[17:30] Give her another 12 months interest-free.
[17:32] And I'm like, that's not what I want.
[17:33] Did no one at any point in time suggest the sale of the other property?
[17:38] No.
[17:38] Never, ever.
[17:40] Which you did eventually sell.
[17:41] Straight away.
[17:42] Yep.
[17:42] Within four months.
[17:44] First meeting we had with Luke.
[17:45] We truly believe the universe shines on us in a lot of ways and things align themselves such as, you know, through diversity for Oscar and in a bit of a dark moment, meeting you.
[17:54] Yep.
[17:55] And going with Oscar, I could have went with Jack, I could have went with some of the other kids, probably wouldn't have left with G because I wouldn't have been able to justify affording the masterclass.
[18:04] But with that said, my dad had had his second big stroke and finally he'd agreed to go into aged care facility, which is a much better place for him.
[18:12] He's thriving in there.
[18:14] He's loving it.
[18:14] Oh, he's loving it.
[18:15] It's exceptional.
[18:16] Behaving himself in there?
[18:17] Absolutely.
[18:18] He's healthier.
[18:19] You know, he gets along well.
[18:21] So everything aligned.
[18:22] And then we could sell this dog of a property, to be honest.
[18:25] It was making no money.
[18:27] All we'd done is redrawn on it.
[18:28] Yeah.
[18:29] And that was a beautiful moment in time.
[18:31] Yeah, it was so good.
[18:31] Like, you know, through your advice, and it was straight up advice.
[18:34] I'll never forget Lou was on the Zoom.
[18:35] I should have just given you another loan button, got the commission.
[18:38] Of course.
[18:38] You know, just one commission off and never see us again.
[18:42] It doesn't make sense to tell you to sell that and have no debt.
[18:45] Where am I going to get an earn?
[18:46] Precisely.
[18:47] You spoke about that in the Base Sides podcast.
[18:49] And, you know, that's that key moment.
[18:51] So you could have got one quick brokerage.
[18:53] You know, the bank could have just left us in that situation.
[18:56] Whereas beautifully, as you'll go on to talk about, you know, we sold that.
[19:00] We cleared all that in four months of your advice.
[19:03] We had extra in the bank.
[19:04] We had a positive figure in the bank, credit cards gone, zero owing on our principal place of residence.
[19:10] And then we come to our first event, like a purchasing event, and we're left with three properties.
[19:17] Oscar, when mum and dad sold the other property and Pop's got into care of us and he's thriving there, which is great, but it doesn't always work like that.
[19:26] Once mum and dad sold that property, cleared the debt and there's cash in the bank and the cards are gone,
[19:31] I want you to share with people tuning in at home, was anything different?
[19:37] Did it feel different as kids because you've got varying ages?
[19:40] Did anything change?
[19:41] What was the dynamic like?
[19:43] Was it the same?
[19:45] Talk to that.
[19:45] What did or didn't change from your perspective?
[19:49] It's easy for mum and dad to say.
[19:50] Absolutely.
[19:51] From the kids' perspective, I feel like we could all sense there was a lot of...
[19:56] concern.
[19:57] They've joined this new company.
[19:59] They've told them to sell the property.
[20:02] I feel like there's a lot of change within the family dynamic.
[20:07] Which is change is always scary.
[20:09] Yeah, change is very scary for sure.
[20:10] But I feel like once they saw what come out of that and that the debt's going down and I feel like from the kid's perspective, we could see a significant change in happiness and not...
[20:24] worrying about, sorry, we can't do that, or just the arguments about money.
[20:30] A lot would change around the house.
[20:34] Mum and Dad would...
[20:37] We would do family thing, we'd go to the park together.
[20:39] We'd just, it would be lots of different things than we usually would do prior to meeting you guys.
[20:46] And we started cooking together.
[20:48] We started cooking together.
[20:50] We started going to the supermarket with dad and selecting the right ingredients and foods rather than buying everything we want.
[20:56] We'd say, okay, on Tuesday we're having bolognese together, let's cook that together.
[21:00] Right.
[21:01] It just, the whole dynamic of our family changed from simple adjustments.
[21:07] So it's weird to think when we didn't have any money, we lived on the backside of our pants and chaotic and limited time together and takeaway and this and that.
[21:20] But yet when we were flush with money, we went the other way and we spent time together and we gained structure.
[21:28] And we...
[21:29] So literally we were full of excuses before because the steps that we're taking now to be comfortable, to have a great life and all these changes, what you should have done back then, you didn't.
[21:41] We grew so much closer as a family.
[21:44] Absolutely.
[21:44] We weren't distant anymore.
[21:46] Like there would always be something, secrets or something hidden between the parents and the children.
[21:52] And I feel like being open and...
[21:54] speaking about it and and having confidence in what they're doing brought us all closer in everything we do and it's not like we said no to things anymore like if like damon out one of our sons said he wanted an xbox we we said that's fine how are you going to get that like it wasn't just no worries mate we'll buy that for you he worked out what he could do before he got a job and you're like you said like we've said in the past he started mowing lawns
[22:18] Things like that.
[22:19] He worked to get the money himself and then he appreciated it better.
[22:22] Do you think society's lost the ability to...
[22:28] delay gratification to earn and deserve something.
[22:31] Absolutely.
[22:32] Did you say that in this technology era?
[22:34] Yeah.
[22:35] I'd put on 15 kilos over that 10, 20-year period.
[22:40] I unfortunately can only be honest to say that I would lie to my beautiful life partner and wife because before we had the electronic bank statements and the auditability of it and me being a tradie, I used to do a lot of cashies.
[22:59] I'd go out and do a cashy, I'd spoil the kids.
[23:03] And I was just stuck in that rat race trap.
[23:05] But I was scared, I was sad, I was embarrassed.
[23:08] So I'd hide from Jackie, I'd spoil the kids but then sometimes I couldn't take the kids because I couldn't afford it.
[23:14] You know, like Oscar's soccer for example, we'd pay off his whole year's subscription to soccer.
[23:20] We'd have to travel all the way an hour and a half to a game.
[23:23] I couldn't really even afford the fuel.
[23:25] But we still juggled all that.
[23:26] But you're there, but you're not there.
[23:28] You're stressed.
[23:29] You're hungover.
[23:29] You're like a caveman.
[23:30] It's so nice to not have any inhibitions.
[23:34] We talk about everything.
[23:35] Absolutely.
[23:35] We talk about money easily.
[23:37] We talk about cost of things.
[23:39] We talk about...
[23:40] what we should and shouldn't do as a family, which is really unusual.
[23:43] We've just had a new girlfriend come into the family and she said to us, which we hadn't realised because it's our normal way of life, but she's like, I've never been around people that talk about money so easily because we started talking to her.
[23:56] She said something about infinity and I thought, here we go, we're on the way to the beach.
[23:59] So she'd been in the family, this is with young Damon, because young Damon had a girlfriend for three years and broke his heart terribly.
[24:05] Oh, they busted up?
[24:06] Yeah.
[24:07] The one that we talked about keeping forever.
[24:09] Our first breakup.
[24:10] And look, unfortunately, you know, they lived in two different townships, et cetera.
[24:15] And, you know, she was very vision focused on her career.
[24:18] So I'm really proud of her for that.
[24:19] She's going to go all the way, but just on her own.
[24:21] Yeah.
[24:22] So, you know, he was basically coupled up into Jackie crying and whimpering.
[24:26] He was a mess.
[24:27] And thanks to this gorgeous brother of his and the way we go about things in our family, he stood up.
[24:33] He's now obsessed in his body and health.
[24:36] It's incredible to watch.
[24:38] And he runs his life now, G, thanks to you, without question.
[24:42] And, you know, he's going to love this call out right now.
[24:43] So if you could say, good on you, Damon, that'll be awesome.
[24:46] Yeah.
[24:46] Because – He might not like everyone saying that he was a blubbering.
[24:49] Yes, but thanks, Mum and Dad.
[24:51] He dropped rock bottom.
[24:52] And he'd already experienced that with his brother's situation.
[24:55] Yeah, I know.
[24:56] You know, initially back 12 months ago, you know, all the kids got to come up and attend one of the situations.
[25:03] He went home then.
[25:04] He would not work and he'd just turned 16.
[25:06] He got two jobs.
[25:07] Yeah.
[25:08] He saved 5K...
[25:10] Now tell the story behind the 5K.
[25:12] Sure.
[25:12] So he saved 5K in Woolies.
[25:15] And the reason he saved 5K, I said do 5K by Christmas and we'll match that 5K.
[25:21] So not everyone's in a financial position to do that.
[25:24] But pick different ways of doing this.
[25:26] Well, you weren't a couple of years ago.
[25:27] Absolutely.
[25:27] No way.
[25:28] But now, thanks as we were just saying, the empowerment of having access to money and using it more wisely –
[25:34] you get to make different choices.
[25:36] So young Damon was energised to go, right, if I work, I can not only match this guy, I can outrun him, right?
[25:43] I'm going to have a better story than Oscar.
[25:45] So sit with G. I'm going to do a podcast.
[25:47] I'm going to do these things.
[25:49] And I'm going to do it quicker and faster.
[25:50] A bit of healthy competition.
[25:51] Absolutely.
[25:51] It's always good.
[25:52] Similar ages too because it was 16.
[25:55] Totally.
[25:55] So we started at the same footprint.
[25:57] Yeah.
[25:58] So, you know, into the gym, into Woolies.
[26:01] Like he's working full time nearly over the Christmas break.
[26:03] Okay.
[26:03] So we mashed up that 5K.
[26:05] And what that plan was, which was so beautiful, they'd watched Oscar do a share fund which pays 12%.
[26:11] Yeah, yeah, yeah.
[26:12] And it's been incredibly successful for the young guy.
[26:14] He's got his first deposit.
[26:15] Yeah.
[26:16] So Damon and the 21-year-old gorgeous Anton,
[26:20] He had been in the background doing his will and deal and being a middle child.
[26:24] I'm going to do a deal for 5K match with mum and dad that'll get me to 10.
[26:28] He saved another three himself.
[26:30] He went to his 21-year-old brother, got 10 out of him and now they've done a 20K at 8% 12 months.
[26:37] So the merge force.
[26:38] Absolutely.
[26:39] And what we love about that is it doesn't have to be, you know, your first property.
[26:42] So the three oldest boys are all invested.
[26:44] Absolutely.
[26:45] All infinity, laser focused.
[26:47] And they proudly say, Anton says, you know, proudly he's an investor because he's invested his money.
[26:52] And it's all because Oscar started this journey for all of us and he's forging ahead, as you know.
[26:57] But the ripple effects throughout our family have been phenomenal.
[27:01] And that in itself is one story.
[27:03] So Big D's got a new partner.
[27:05] He's got a new missus.
[27:06] He has.
[27:06] He's got a lovely young lady.
[27:08] And what's he doing in the gym?
[27:09] Because he's already Derek Zoolander.
[27:10] He's already a beautiful male model.
[27:12] We are talking, you know, front of Vogue.
[27:14] He is out of control.
[27:15] And he doesn't know you're doing 60 Strong yet.
[27:17] No, he doesn't.
[27:18] He'll amp it up.
[27:19] But that's where he directed his energy.
[27:21] And that kind of comes from you too, G, because throughout our Infinity journey, we've had the opportunity to do 75 strong and 60 strong.
[27:30] And that was all you inspiring us.
[27:31] I never would have done that.
[27:33] As we film this podcast, you know, so proud to be with you and try to help any strangers out there.
[27:39] Why?
[27:39] Well, the why is Oscar handed him some podcasts.
[27:42] Many of those were infinity-based.
[27:45] And that just picked him up in that very dark moment, no matter what that dark moment is.
[27:50] Inspired him.
[27:50] And inspired him to go, you know what?
[27:52] Why lay around feeling sorry for myself?
[27:55] I'm 16 years old.
[27:56] Mm-hmm.
[27:57] I'm going to bust my balls and take my brother out and be better and faster and stronger.
[28:01] Yeah, exactly.
[28:02] And then he went out and met, you know, a lovely young lady.
[28:05] And he's truly thriving at Woolies.
[28:08] Like, they love him.
[28:08] They're just constantly on the phone.
[28:10] He outpacks everybody and he sets new targets of being faster and quicker.
[28:14] They actually had to stop giving him shifts because he was at full time over the school holidays.
[28:20] He'll kill me for this, but why doesn't fucking G follow me on my Insta?
[28:25] Like, what the hell?
[28:27] I said, when you're worthy, he will.
[28:29] He hasn't slid into my DMs, so I don't know.
[28:33] He said Beck follows him.
[28:34] Oh, does he?
[28:35] Yeah.
[28:36] It's a bit hard.
[28:36] There's a couple hundred thousand followers.
[28:38] I know.
[28:38] We say that.
[28:39] I don't like someone comes and follow.
[28:41] You don't really see it.
[28:42] You know what I mean?
[28:42] But I'll keep an eye on it.
[28:44] But yeah, you know, it's much broader than that.
[28:46] Why don't any of his incredible good looks rub off on me?
[28:49] That's right.
[28:52] If you have a reason to change, then you'll make that change.
[28:55] Absolutely.
[28:56] And he had a reason.
[28:57] I was going to say, it's interesting that he hit... You're going to have some hardship.
[28:59] So you hit rock bottom.
[29:00] Absolutely.
[29:01] I try to explain to people, if people are just bobbling along like a rubber ducky along the stream from bank to bank, they don't actually have enough pain to grow exponentially.
[29:12] Absolutely.
[29:13] When you hit rock bottom... Yep.
[29:15] And something traumatic, which a partner breakup after a couple of years and love your life in your turn, that's pretty rock bottom, right?
[29:22] Anyone who's been through life that's old has experienced it.
[29:24] Absolutely.
[29:25] So it's interesting.
[29:27] That rock bottom is enough for him to then obviously get asked.
[29:30] You've got some good support there.
[29:32] You've been through it yourself, Oscar.
[29:35] You've got to have some pain to really be prepared to make enough change to gain.
[29:42] Absolutely.
[29:43] Otherwise, you just bobble along.
[29:44] Well, then there's a reason behind what you're doing.
[29:46] If you don't have anything to work for, if you don't have anything to go through life for, then you can just stop and give up and be lazy and there's no target to get.
[29:54] Well, let's talk to that because you set some pretty strict targets.
[29:57] So 16, you watch mum and dad experience this and come along.
[30:00] You set yourself some pretty big targets to invest and then to get your first property and all that.
[30:06] So let's talk through that journey of when you decided, right, I'm going to start saving and get my first property and...
[30:12] to then late last year, 2025, you've purchased your first property.
[30:16] Let's talk through some of those numbers quickly for anyone tuning in.
[30:19] You set yourself a target.
[30:21] I remember you reaching out to me and I'll let you talk to what my amazing financial tip was to you.
[30:28] It's a very technical tip for those tuning in.
[30:31] You want to get your pen and pad out because it's quite detailed when Oscar explains it.
[30:35] Talk us through that, mate.
[30:36] At what point did you go at 17, 18?
[30:38] Right.
[30:38] Yep.
[30:40] I want to get to X and talk us through that journey of one job, two jobs.
[30:46] How did you get there?
[30:46] And the naivety of setting those targets.
[30:49] Yeah, exactly.
[30:51] Well, first off, leaving school and knowing I wanted a change but not really knowing what that change was just yet, I just knew that if I wanted to make a change, the first thing I had to do was just work hard for it.
[31:02] So leaving school, going full-time, saving every cent that I can –
[31:06] not knowing really where that money's going to go, but knowing that if I can save that up, then as long as I surround myself by these people and by what mum and dad are doing, then I'll figure it out as I go sort of thing.
[31:19] Continue to saving, being introduced to this team and this community, I managed to save up my first 50K.
[31:26] Well done.
[31:26] At how old?
[31:27] 17, turning 18.
[31:29] And some people go, oh, yeah, mum.
[31:32] Hey, not everyone lives at home with mum and dad.
[31:34] That's right.
[31:34] Some people get it.
[31:35] Yeah, absolutely.
[31:36] But for the average family that are looking after things, sure, you worked hard.
[31:40] Yeah.
[31:40] You saved up.
[31:41] And I'd already previously had about 12 or 13K in my account.
[31:45] Yeah.
[31:45] I've always been a hardworking kid.
[31:48] I would referee futsal when I was 11, 12 before I could get a natural job and then I worked at the cinema and did a year and a half at the Woolies Damons at right now.
[31:57] Absolutely, yep.
[31:58] Always had that hardworking trait growing up, but having a reason behind it just pushed that along even more.
[32:06] So saving that first 50K, obviously it wasn't enough to sort of look at property.
[32:11] So I sat down with you and said, listen, G, I've worked hard for this.
[32:15] It's the most money I've had in my life.
[32:17] I'm not really sure what to do with it.
[32:18] What can we do?
[32:19] So we worked out to put it in the fund.
[32:21] Mortgage fund, yeah.
[32:23] And that earned me money every single month.
[32:25] And that was incredible.
[32:27] And I became an investor.
[32:30] And then I was like, all right, I'm going to these events.
[32:32] All these people are buying properties.
[32:34] The look on their face, the happiness, the changes in their lives.
[32:37] I want to do that.
[32:39] I'm going to inspire.
[32:39] I'm ready.
[32:40] I'm ready to do that.
[32:41] I want to go forward and do that.
[32:42] So...
[32:44] I shot you a text, I think I'd had about 70k by then, and said, gee, what can I do to get this property?
[32:53] What the hell is going on?
[32:54] Why can't I be a part of this?
[32:57] What's going on, gee?
[32:58] Tell me what to do.
[32:59] Your financial advice that you were just speaking about was very deep.
[33:04] Maybe Sagey was a bit pissed off in the background with the G-man, which had just fucking took a while.
[33:09] Can we get this property?
[33:11] So we'll call it financial.
[33:14] It's life slash budgeting slash...
[33:20] Just overall advice, right?
[33:21] Like almost a bit of parenting slash uncle advice.
[33:25] I've got 70 grand.
[33:26] I want a house or a unit.
[33:28] What's the secret?
[33:29] There's a magic sauce.
[33:30] It's almost like I'd worked hard, don't get me wrong, but I'd still have my afternoons free.
[33:36] I'd go to work, I'd come home, I'd hang out with my mates.
[33:40] I wasn't flat out.
[33:42] I worked my day-to-day job, but there wasn't really that sweat and hard, hard work.
[33:50] um anyway i'd sent you that text and you just replied with as simple as sorry mate there's no magic sauce head down bum up get to work keep saving and i was like where's the magic wand by chance jackie was standing at the sink i was on the opposite side of the bench and he just goes
[34:07] What the fuck?
[34:09] What is this?
[34:10] What is this?
[34:11] That's all I really needed.
[34:12] How long did it...
[34:13] I mean, because we would have been, what the fuck?
[34:17] How long, how many hours, days, weeks?
[34:21] How long did it take for you to go... Because I gave you a punch in the face, right?
[34:24] Yeah, sure did.
[34:25] But I had to give you the punch in the face of...
[34:27] There is no magic wand.
[34:29] It's money mental, not money magician.
[34:30] Best thing you could have done.
[34:32] Like, I get it.
[34:33] Everybody wants everything now.
[34:36] And I talked about this.
[34:37] I said, do you think we've lost the ability?
[34:39] Everyone's get rich quick.
[34:40] It's not.
[34:41] It's hard.
[34:41] It's slow.
[34:42] It's painful.
[34:43] That's right.
[34:44] How long did it take you to take that punch in the throat?
[34:47] Well, I just, like, obviously I was a bit put down at the start and was like, well, this is a bit disappointing.
[34:52] But then you read it again and you're like,
[34:56] It's incredible that this is the advice you need.
[35:00] This is advice anyone needs.
[35:02] Like this is just the real raw reality of now looking back at that time, like you knew exactly what you were doing when you said that.
[35:10] Of course you did.
[35:11] Maybe.
[35:12] Yeah, you did.
[35:13] So what was your reaction?
[35:14] What did you do?
[35:15] Mm-hmm.
[35:16] I did exactly what you said.
[35:18] I, it was, it would have been 2024, end of 2024, when we had that conversation.
[35:26] And we were about to head on a family holiday, so we did that.
[35:29] And then when we got back, I reflected and I said, all right, Dries told me to do this.
[35:32] And is this really what I want?
[35:34] Yes, this is what I want.
[35:35] So how am I gonna make this happen?
[35:37] So I went out and I got a second job at a warehouse, a local warehouse.
[35:43] I'd call that head down by, Mark.
[35:45] Big time, absolutely.
[35:47] First off, I got an interview with them.
[35:50] They weren't getting back to me.
[35:51] I was so eager to get this job and get this money rolling that I'd go there nearly every day after work and knock on their door and say, hey, when's my interview?
[36:00] Hey, I'm Oscar.
[36:01] The poor secretary literally went, oh, Oscar, I am so sorry.
[36:06] Persistence, B-times.
[36:08] Everybody knew him by name.
[36:09] I would go around the office and introduce myself to everyone and I would figure out when I was going to get this interview.
[36:14] And finally, eventually from that persistence, I got to sit down and they were blown away with me and they signed me up right away.
[36:22] I think I started the next day and I just have one shift and then it sort of worked out perfectly with my schedule.
[36:28] I'd have all day work with dad would get up.
[36:31] We work out of town Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday.
[36:35] And I'd get up with Dad at 5.30, we'd drive down to work, start at 7, finish at 3, get back home at 4.30, and then I'd start my shift 5 till midnight on Monday night at the warehouse.
[36:46] And then Tuesday, obviously work all day, same hours with Dad, and then I'd have soccer training Tuesday night.
[36:51] um wednesday is exactly the same as monday 16 hour day um and then throughout the week um and i'd have a smaller shift on the friday so i'd be doing an extra 20 to 30 hours a week at the second job almost two full-time jobs pretty much mixing soccer at that stage more than full-time absolutely
[37:09] And I would even pull the occasional soccer training, finish at nine, head straight to the warehouse and do nine till midnight or nine till 1am.
[37:17] He'd go to the change rooms, pull on the flu around.
[37:19] They're all like, Oscar, you got some serious issues, mate.
[37:23] We're going to the pub.
[37:24] Like looking back now and them seeing my success from that period of hard work, they're all like the real ones are all like, well done, mate.
[37:32] Like we can now see why you did that hard work and you didn't just go to the casino with us and blow it all.
[37:39] You didn't go out every weekend.
[37:41] And when we said, why aren't you having another drink?
[37:42] We now understand why because you've made the right decisions and they're all jealous and they're like, where's my property?
[37:52] Through this journey, Jay, there's been plenty of people interact with in the community and even in the public.
[37:56] You know, bad parenting and you're working him too hard and he's going to burn out.
[38:00] So you're forcing him to do the exercise?
[38:02] There's no such a thing.
[38:04] But are you forcing him or this was his own?
[38:06] This is Oscar on his own journey.
[38:08] He's driven.
[38:08] He's passionate.
[38:09] He wants to do this.
[38:10] Gee, he said, I'll do.
[38:12] He went down by Mara.
[38:13] And look at the rewards.
[38:14] And he's got a lifestyle beyond rich and famous.
[38:17] Like, the way he rolls is... Japan twice in the last year.
[38:21] Yeah.
[38:21] I mean, who wouldn't want to be part of some of the community events and some of the events that Infinity Hold look at the Christmas party?
[38:28] Yeah.
[38:28] It also has been a reflection from the community though, hasn't it?
[38:32] Absolutely.
[38:32] Like it's been phenomenal.
[38:33] The support is absolutely incredible.
[38:35] In February when I started my second job, I started a weekly post with our community privately and every single week I'd do a little update on how I was going and what I was doing and it sort of got a couple of likes here and there and go Oscar, well done.
[38:50] And then it just built up and built up and built up.
[38:52] And then as I would get closer to my goals...
[38:55] I was like, all right, I need something for them to look forward to.
[38:58] I need something for me to look forward to.
[39:00] So I set a goal of 100K before my 19th birthday, which was July.
[39:04] So not that long, really.
[39:07] I managed to go week by week and update them week by week and the excitement grew and we hit our goal a month before I'd planned to and the community just got around me and that was one of my biggest drivers was our community pushing me to keep going when I'd feel sick or when I'd feel like what's the real point of this, they would push me forward to keep going.
[39:27] And these weren't rosy posts.
[39:28] Sometimes you'd admit how tired he was, exhausted he was, et cetera.
[39:31] Yeah, absolutely.
[39:33] Hundreds of people every week would write comments and participate.
[39:36] Keep going, keep going.
[39:38] He would honestly get cold calls and people are like offering him all sorts of things or just mental health care or support.
[39:44] I've seen people offering him jobs, hey?
[39:46] Oh, totally.
[39:47] If you want to pack up your life in Sydney or go here or go, Dad's going to know I need him on the job.
[39:52] Leave him alone.
[39:53] Absolutely.
[39:55] But it was 100K and we'd hit that goal and it was incredible.
[39:59] And I was like, sweet, all right, I've done what Jay asked.
[40:01] I'm ready to go again.
[40:02] Yeah, yeah, yeah.
[40:03] Let me shoot him a text.
[40:04] Let me talk to him at the next event.
[40:06] What's the plan?
[40:07] And that was around about July sort of thing.
[40:10] And I was like, sweet, done the hard work.
[40:12] Let's see what the big man says.
[40:14] Anyway, we caught up an event and we kind of had one in mind.
[40:18] And anyway, it just wasn't good enough.
[40:20] It didn't really match what we were looking for.
[40:22] Yeah.
[40:23] You told me to keep saving, keep working hard, don't quit the second job, keep going and see how much you can save before November.
[40:31] And I was like, you've got to be kidding me.
[40:33] And then you said, how much are you thinking?
[40:35] It was a quiet plane fly at home.
[40:37] This guy is fucked.
[40:38] Remember you said... How long is a bit of strength?
[40:40] Yeah, exactly.
[40:41] You said to Jay, what sort of price are you thinking?
[40:44] What sort of money are you thinking, Jay?
[40:45] Is this just going to go on forever?
[40:47] I'm going to have 500K in my account and no assets at all, but...
[40:51] I trusted the process and I kept working hard and you set me a crazy goal and I'd smashed away the hours.
[40:59] I did some extra hours.
[41:00] I remember doing plenty of weekend hours.
[41:03] Which also, just to jump in, improved my business and my determination.
[41:07] So not only did my business that employed Oscar have to supply income and standard wages, we then done some side hustles.
[41:15] So, you know what, let's go and do a weekend job.
[41:17] Let's split 50-50.
[41:18] Absolutely.
[41:20] And it just turned things on and then it improved the whole family again.
[41:23] It goes both ways because throughout Oscar's journey and talking about it so much, you know, he inspired me to go for a bigger job as well at work because he was pushing himself to his absolute limit.
[41:36] So I started to reflect and think, well, what can I do?
[41:38] Like, I want to jump on this.
[41:41] And it's kind of like a friendly competition, isn't it?
[41:43] Like just pushing ourselves to be better constantly.
[41:47] It's a unity.
[41:47] We're all pushing each other to strive to be better.
[41:50] Not a competitive family at all.
[41:52] Oh, not a competitive family.
[41:53] Oh, gosh, no.
[41:53] So what did you get to, Oscar?
[41:54] Yeah, keep going.
[41:55] So I managed to go from 70k at end of 2024 to save about roughly over 30k from February to the end of June.
[42:06] Yeah.
[42:08] Which is crazy.
[42:09] Like I'm only an apprentice chippy.
[42:11] Like the wages aren't the best.
[42:13] It's the extra hours that I do at the warehouse that I'd get some loading pay and things like that.
[42:18] Yeah.
[42:20] all those hours combined and still doing the 60-hour weeks plus even 65-hour weeks if I do weekends, et cetera, all the way through to November.
[42:29] And then finally having our event in November and hitting you up and saying, all right, this is the final straw, G. Please.
[42:38] Oh, God.
[42:39] And not only was I completely blown away with the whole buildup, I was over the moon.
[42:46] I managed to save up to I think I got to about 130K, which is insane.
[42:52] Like looking back on like how did this money even go into my account?
[42:57] But then reflecting on all the hours that I did and reflecting on how long I've had the 60-hour weeks and how long I've done the double shifts, it all added up.
[43:06] And being able to...
[43:08] Why didn't you give up the first time when I told you to keep working harder?
[43:11] I just, well, the events.
[43:13] Because most people would.
[43:14] Absolutely.
[43:15] The events in the community, you see it every single time and you don't see it even just in person.
[43:21] You see it online.
[43:22] You see the stories.
[43:23] You see people crying because they've paid off their mortgage.
[43:25] They've just bought two properties.
[43:27] They've bought three properties.
[43:29] I just, even though you were pissing me off a bit,
[43:34] I knew.
[43:34] Only you.
[43:35] I mean, come on.
[43:36] I pissed off a few more people than that.
[43:38] I knew that there was a plan at the end.
[43:41] And I knew from even your message about head down, bum up.
[43:44] I knew that that had come off and that had worked.
[43:46] And I'd.
[43:47] now understand the real meaning of hard work and earning that money.
[43:51] Best thing you could have ever said, G. And just really respect and trust G too, hey.
[43:55] Yeah, but sitting down.
[43:58] But then the second time, you're like, oh, fucking how long's a piece of fucking string?
[44:03] Why didn't you give up then?
[44:04] Yeah.
[44:06] I'd come so far.
[44:08] But you thought about it.
[44:09] You thought about it.
[44:11] A little bit.
[44:12] There might be something in this.
[44:13] It's like me asking Becca on a date for six months.
[44:16] Oh, fuck, I give up.
[44:19] I knew that there was... You were close.
[44:21] Yeah, I knew that I was close and I knew that it was going to be worth it.
[44:24] And I knew that...
[44:26] Like you'd apologize that you said it was going to happen then, but you said, listen, mate, if you do the hard work, you keep going, you don't give up now and you just keep pushing, I promise you it's all going to come off in the end.
[44:36] And your words couldn't have been more true.
[44:39] And I'll go back a step.
[44:40] I could have helped you...
[44:42] get something back then that I didn't think, I was, I said to you, I remember at the event on the floor, we're talking there, everyone around said, I'm not really comfortable of what we were going to do.
[44:55] I said, whilst it's great, I don't think it's exceptional for your first step.
[45:00] Absolutely.
[45:01] And I said, and I've got something else in mind, but you're going to have to keep going a little bit further, a little bit more.
[45:06] And the market had moved, real estate market in Australia for homes had moved extremely,
[45:11] crazy figures, right?
[45:13] So what you originally planned had gone up.
[45:15] Well, it was just moving so much so quick.
[45:17] Yeah.
[45:17] And then I knew that we had some other stuff we were looking at ahead of time, like, oh, that could work or that could work.
[45:23] That conversation we had put, like, my stresses and my concerns at peace because I'm like... You had a bit more detail.
[45:29] I was like, if G's not happy with it, then I'm not happy with it.
[45:33] And if he tells me that he's got something in store for me that he's really excited for, then I'll do whatever I need to to get that.
[45:40] Yeah.
[45:40] And you trusted that because of the community and the seven, eight-year clients.
[45:45] Yeah.
[45:46] We all get together and we talk about, does this really work?
[45:49] And we know.
[45:50] It works exceptionally freaking well.
[45:51] You've got Megan and Jeremy downstairs.
[45:53] You've got Craig and Kim downstairs.
[45:55] You've got Christine.
[45:56] I mean, half all the clients end up fucking working here.
[45:58] All become employees.
[45:59] Absolutely.
[46:00] We know how brilliant you are, though, G, at the end of the day.
[46:03] We know he's in good hands because people have said to us along the way, aren't you worried about him buying a house so early?
[46:09] We're like, no.
[46:10] Like we could not trust you more.
[46:12] And over that three years watching Jackie's and my success, not only in saving but how many properties we started to achieve, the amount of holidays and access to just sheer joy and happiness.
[46:23] It's incredible.
[46:24] And it was funny because that particular REM where G showed you the pictures on his phone and you weren't going to buy, you started showing Oscar a little bit about one of the properties.
[46:33] Yes, I said, oh, maybe we'll.
[46:34] I'm working on this at the moment.
[46:35] And what ended up happening after that, because of the job that I'd got and the higher pay rate, suddenly our finances were better.
[46:44] Your capacity was high.
[46:45] And our capacity was high.
[46:46] So we had been offered an opportunity to buy in that, exactly what you had showed Oscar on the phone.
[46:52] And so then I felt bad because I'm like, hon, what if Oscar doesn't buy?
[46:55] They didn't tell me.
[46:56] What if we buy this?
[46:58] We were both pounding away so excited.
[47:00] Because it was in November.
[47:01] Our biggest purchase, like $1.5 million purchase, you know, so excited.
[47:05] So excited.
[47:05] We couldn't say shit for a show under this place.
[47:07] But we didn't want to say anything.
[47:08] Because I hadn't heard anything about my property.
[47:10] They'd heard that they're going to buy in the place that you showed me I was going to buy in.
[47:13] But we didn't want to tell him because we're like, this is not about us.
[47:16] They're like, this is Oscar's moment.
[47:18] This is Oscar's moment.
[47:18] We can't let him know, no matter how excited we are.
[47:20] And it was right up to the REM, wasn't it?
[47:22] You were somewhere.
[47:23] Where were you?
[47:24] Because we went on a class with G. Where did you go?
[47:27] And we talked to you on the phone.
[47:29] Oh, were you with him?
[47:29] I was in Japan with Anton.
[47:30] So he went to Japan with Anton and he was coming back.
[47:33] He planned his trip around Japan so he could go to the November REM.
[47:37] Yeah, yeah.
[47:37] And so he was overseas with Anton and still didn't know if he was buying.
[47:41] So we'd done the weekend masterclass with you and you had said, we recorded that session and you'd said in there, Oscar will be buying at the next REM.
[47:49] So I sent that little snippet to Oscar and that's how he found out.
[47:52] Oh, you fucking surprise ruin are you.
[47:55] But it was so beautiful because he was just, he cried and I took a photo, didn't I?
[48:00] Because you're like, oh my God, I've been feeling sick.
[48:02] I've been so stressed.
[48:04] But there was also that like...
[48:06] am I really?
[48:09] Just kidding.
[48:12] This sounds familiar sort of thing.
[48:15] You did say that.
[48:17] Even when on the waiter room you said, oh, mum, I'm not getting myself too excited just in case.
[48:22] Going back to the property that you showed me that I thought, okay, I'm like talking to people and saying I might be getting sort of like this is sort of the rough idea and having that property in mind and that position and everything in mind.
[48:33] When I went to my meeting, I'm like,
[48:34] I already know what I'm getting.
[48:35] It wasn't that at all.
[48:38] Then getting the full plot twist that it was something else.
[48:41] And then sitting and listening to Lou and going down everything about the property and the build.
[48:47] And I was just in pure shock of what I've been offered and like, oh, this is really nice.
[48:53] Who's buying this sort of thing?
[48:54] And I was like, oh, shit.
[48:55] And even though that was the dream and that was what you were building towards in that moment.
[49:00] Remember I took a photo of your face and you were just like, I got it.
[49:03] We call it the spink to pucker moment.
[49:05] Absolutely.
[49:05] Mum captured it perfectly on camera.
[49:07] Where he's actually gone, oh shit.
[49:10] Shit just got real.
[49:11] Yes, very real.
[49:12] Nah, just kidding.
[49:13] Save another 50.
[49:14] Yeah.
[49:16] But all the hard work and the whole build up of this massive year just gone, it was all worth it in the end.
[49:22] And having the being so proud of myself that I was able to achieve that and in that short amount of time as well, put everything into perspective that it is possible.
[49:32] You just got to do the hard work.
[49:34] Just the professionalism of everybody around him, you know, from clients.
[49:37] Such good hands.
[49:38] You know, coexisting people within the business, the staff.
[49:43] Everybody that needed to be there just to help him or put him back on track.
[49:48] It aligned perfectly.
[49:49] Beautiful.
[49:50] And, you know, we all trust you, G. It's as simple as that.
[49:52] 100%.
[49:53] And we all got to buy.
[49:55] Absolutely.
[49:55] We all come home with more property.
[49:57] So it's a win-win.
[49:58] It's the best weekend.
[50:00] Yeah.
[50:01] I want to jump into some other parts of the journey here because USA.
[50:06] USA.
[50:07] Oh, my God.
[50:08] USA.
[50:08] All right.
[50:09] I want to jump into that part of the journey with us here.
[50:14] that you guys were part of a core group of clients.
[50:18] We have thousands of clients in the community members.
[50:21] And at all of our events, we shuffle it around and have sometimes 50, 60 couples or families come along and all volunteer to share because they're so amazed with where they've been.
[50:31] And we have different avatars, families of seven, a single person, a young person, an old person.
[50:36] You know, we have different nationalities and race, really, all sorts of stuff, right?
[50:40] We really blend it up.
[50:41] And you guys have been pretty consistent in that journey of sharing because it's a really cool story, especially for large families going, oh, what's our excuse and feed and this and that?
[50:50] Yeah, if we can do it, yeah, right?
[50:51] Family of seven, then come on.
[50:56] You guys were part of a group that came to the USA with us, right?
[50:59] Yeah.
[51:00] And I really, really hope this helps our new USA community members and fam, because you're able to come over with a bit of a group.
[51:07] We call it like a beta test, and you're able to watch me present how we do what we do to pay a mortgage off so fast to a couple of different groups of Americans.
[51:18] Yeah.
[51:19] How did you find the debt reduction, the money management, how did you find that?
[51:25] Did it or did it not translate in the USA?
[51:30] It was a little surreal and quiet when we first presented.
[51:35] You know, you had a couple of American colleagues there and they'd done their sort of opening pitch.
[51:40] And then the room was a little bit vague and cold.
[51:44] We were sitting in the workplace.
[51:46] I think the difference was for me, when you do that presentation, it's normally amongst people who've done the class, they've chosen to be there.
[51:53] And these weren't those clients.
[51:55] These weren't people that had locked in and said, this is what I'm doing.
[51:58] They just got told that some bloke was coming in to talk.
[52:00] They're still new, right?
[52:02] They're still just...
[52:04] I think they were interested.
[52:06] They were Aussies.
[52:06] It was very much like that.
[52:08] But it was, to be honest, having talked to them after, you know, you'd sort of done your speech and we got to network with them,
[52:15] They just thought it was just another mundane pitch.
[52:18] And they'd recently been burnt several times as part of their life with some pretty big significant issues that had happened.
[52:26] And it had hurt them.
[52:28] And, you know, the world's kind of in a pretty rugged place.
[52:32] So it was really interesting to be part of.
[52:35] The rewards, though...
[52:37] After you'd spoken and they'd started to really understand it.
[52:41] Fall apart.
[52:41] Absolutely.
[52:42] And you talked some technical terms to them and got their attention.
[52:46] And then I think the beauty for us, you know, the 15, 20 people that were there, when we went to Q&A and we got to talk about Oscar's story or our family or, you know, the Craigs and the Kims, the Megans and the Jeremys,
[52:59] Everybody sat up, they stopped playing on their phones.
[53:02] Yes, definitely.
[53:03] And we had 100% of their attention.
[53:04] I know for me it was interesting because I watched it transcend borders, absolutely translate when I finished that because it was very technical, right?
[53:13] Yes.
[53:13] And as I engage with yourselves, it became real.
[53:16] Yes.
[53:16] It became more than a sense.
[53:17] So for me it was...
[53:19] It was a hair stand-up.
[53:20] That's what I mean.
[53:20] It really was.
[53:22] I'd like to refer it to even going back to how we joined.
[53:26] Like looking at you presenting, everyone was like, who is this guy?
[53:30] We don't want him.
[53:31] We're waiting for the next guy sort of thing.
[53:34] And everyone's not interested.
[53:35] Who is he?
[53:36] He's just another speaker.
[53:38] What's he doing in our office sort of thing.
[53:40] Yep.
[53:40] But why has he got all these people behind him?
[53:42] Yeah.
[53:42] Who are these people?
[53:43] And they started to listen more, didn't they, towards the end?
[53:46] And hearing your story and then hearing the testimonials to prove that it's real.
[53:50] Like, that's what got them off their phone.
[53:52] That's what got them sitting up on their seat.
[53:54] That's what they're really engaged in.
[53:56] They're like, ooh, this is quite interesting.
[53:58] And you know what's really funny about this?
[54:01] In Australia, we have to manipulate mould and really...
[54:05] really actually go and create what we call white label lending products, right?
[54:09] Or change things because in America, we have something called a first lien here lock.
[54:15] Yes.
[54:15] Right?
[54:16] So first mortgage security, home equity line of credit.
[54:19] Effectively, that's the product that we use in Australia.
[54:22] Right.
[54:22] Right.
[54:22] That doesn't really exist because of a couple of reasons.
[54:26] In America, all of our US clientele listeners, it's dearer.
[54:29] Let's assume it's 1% dearer because you can use the money over and over and over again without having to reapply.
[54:35] Sure.
[54:35] So astute borrowers go, I get one facility, I use it forever and ever.
[54:40] Yep.
[54:41] Also, they don't understand I'm doing all the numbers, I'm doing all the, rate doesn't matter.
[54:45] Yeah, whereas we're on a program to worry about rate.
[54:47] Everyone's so manipulated to think rate matters.
[54:49] Yeah.
[54:50] Rate doesn't matter over three to seven years when you clear a debt and buy another one and another one and another one, right?
[54:55] Yeah.
[54:56] Rate matters over 30 or 40 years with this 40 year, 50 year mortgage bullshit.
[54:59] Absolutely, where we're heading.
[55:00] So I think it's interesting because I watched from the, give them the technical and then explain to them and they're like, oh no, first lien here looks dearer, right?
[55:09] No, as if you'd want that.
[55:10] to then hear the journeys of you guys using the equivalent of firstly in HELOCs in Australia to acquire three, pay off a loan, then three, four, five, six problems.
[55:20] Eh, go on a minute.
[55:22] Maybe there's something in this.
[55:23] This crazy Aussie bugger might actually know a thing or two, you know what I mean?
[55:26] So it was quite interesting to watch.
[55:28] And the diversity of the stories, you know.
[55:31] Megan and Jeremy, you know, the backstory and what they've achieved now, the lifestyle they've created.
[55:36] They're now employees within this beautiful company, Craig's and Kim's.
[55:40] And, you know, a bit of banter between you and them and you've been around together for years.
[55:43] And you were so cute apologising for spoiling at the start.
[55:46] That really entertained us.
[55:47] Fuck, I didn't mean to say fuck.
[55:48] Fuck, fuck.
[55:50] Sorry, sorry, sorry.
[55:52] Yeah, we're a bit more, us crazy, we're a bit more uncouth than the Americans.
[55:55] But, you know, these beautiful Americans, they were so humble and the hospitality was incredible.
[56:02] We think we hear some shit in some pictures in Australia, right?
[56:04] Yeah, absolutely.
[56:05] But, man, they get some crap over there.
[56:08] So I think it's, you know, and hence why we want to go really have a legacy play there.
[56:12] Yeah.
[56:12] Absolutely.
[56:12] Because the market size there of families struggling versus debt level to pay, it's wild.
[56:19] Absolutely.
[56:20] And from young all the way through parents, grandparents, like they struggle.
[56:22] Absolutely.
[56:23] Well, that's what was beautiful for me.
[56:24] I mean, we were so proud to be there to support you, G. There's no doubt about that.
[56:29] But there was one moment where one of the questions was, could we hear about this young fella's journey?
[56:35] And there was a few that I literally noticed sitting looking at their phones that kind of stopped.
[56:41] And I saw that.
[56:41] And I was watching the crowd and Oscar just talked like he did and started to sort of throw a few jokes.
[56:47] Yeah, the phones got locked and put down.
[56:49] They did.
[56:50] The phones got put down and next to them and they were all locked
[56:53] Might have just been all the females.
[56:55] I'm sure, I'm sure.
[56:57] But afterwards, though, we've got this really beautiful photo of Oscar standing there with a crowd around him, just telling his story.
[57:03] And I think that was a big thing for them to think.
[57:05] He's so young.
[57:06] Just, you know, following mum and dad's footpath, generationally handing down that debt.
[57:12] and never considering that they'll purchase or purchase multiple.
[57:14] It's no different in the States, right?
[57:16] But again, hard work is one thing.
[57:19] There's so many bloody hardworking families in Australia, but especially in the States, where their minimum wage is terrible compared to us.
[57:26] They rely on tips and this and that.
[57:28] You could be busting your guts in three, four jobs in America, not have healthcare, rely on tips.
[57:33] It's bloody tough.
[57:35] So hard work is not questionable over there, but it's the knowledge that goes with the hard work.
[57:42] And then having the truth of people that have done it and are continuing to grow.
[57:47] And within our family, the generational change is, here it is, proof of the pudding.
[57:53] So I think America has a very bright future with Infinity, helping them and guiding them.
[57:58] And your literacy and your goals over there, they're very exciting times.
[58:02] We were very privileged to be part of it.
[58:04] Yeah, what's your take on how it's going to translate as we launch in the coming months?
[58:08] I think it's going to be exceptional, Jean.
[58:10] I think it's going to be exciting, 100%.
[58:12] Definitely.
[58:13] I think that even from our little test that we did together, the reaction that we got, even though it was a small group and there was heaps online, don't get me wrong, but the reaction that we got from that community of Americans was significant.
[58:28] Mm-hmm.
[58:29] And what's possible?
[58:30] They didn't – the few that we talked about had never thought about what was possible.
[58:35] Yeah, well, the interesting thing, you know, would certainly help you, Joe, I think, is they come to us as the family and David and Jackie with our backstory and they got right down into the nitty-gritties of, you know what, maybe I don't need the new truck.
[58:47] Maybe I probably don't need to take that second holiday or –
[58:51] maybe I can change up the way that I'm approaching and start to save and take this literacy advice because it may very well work.
[58:58] That was really special for us.
[59:00] We'll have to get you guys back out to the States for a couple of our events there.
[59:05] Sounds like a fantastic opportunity.
[59:06] That's right.
[59:07] You're real, right?
[59:09] Absolutely.
[59:10] But, you know, it worked here.
[59:12] I can't see why it won't.
[59:13] work exceptionally well there.
[59:15] Yes, they'll have to hard work, they'll have to save some money.
[59:18] But with your guidance and your expertise, and I'm sure you're making great business relationships over there to help that, I think it's a very bright future for Americans.
[59:27] I found that once the Americans are listening and they're present and –
[59:33] they're wanting to hear what you're saying they get quite excited yeah and i found i think they're less cynical once they understand one and one equals two yeah here it's all bullshit yeah big conversations that we had is like in australia people think pyramid scheme people think it's not real or even though there's proof and there's testimonials it's all it's all fake i'm gonna go back and do my own thing whereas i feel like in america
[59:57] they were a lot more open to the idea.
[59:59] Yeah, they're more receptive.
[1:00:00] Once something's real to them, they are more receptive because they are looking for that help.
[1:00:06] It's tough.
[1:00:07] It's a tougher market, to be fair.
[1:00:09] I love that we could show them that Oscar's on an apprenticeship wage.
[1:00:12] We're not high-wage earners, and yet we could show them that just hard work.
[1:00:16] But finding that they are truly, especially that group, truly excited about this, excited about... And you had executives, you had...
[1:00:24] university students working part-time in a college, uni, school.
[1:00:28] You had people out of college starting their career.
[1:00:32] You had such a, I guess, a very broad, diverse range of people.
[1:00:37] And all of them took a little bit, but once they locked in, you could just see the change.
[1:00:40] It was phenomenal.
[1:00:41] And you could see the pure excitement in their face.
[1:00:43] It's almost hope.
[1:00:44] Yeah, exactly.
[1:00:45] Exactly what it was.
[1:00:46] But not hope, it was hope supported by... Real people.
[1:00:50] Yeah, and numbers, right?
[1:00:51] Yes.
[1:00:51] So it almost became a path, not hope.
[1:00:54] Absolutely.
[1:00:55] Because it takes me back by the reason I've shared that is from when you were at Goggins, there was hope.
[1:01:01] Of course.
[1:01:02] Then there was a clear path.
[1:01:04] That's right.
[1:01:05] And then there was a bit of hard work and a bit of pissed off in the way.
[1:01:09] But then there's excitement.
[1:01:10] Which has made the victory sweeter.
[1:01:12] There's fulfillment in what you've done as well.
[1:01:14] And I think that after we talk to them and after we...
[1:01:18] put all of our pieces out and they picked them all up that they knew that this is possible and they got excited about it.
[1:01:24] So do you think, I mean, I mean, we've got a sizable community in Australia.
[1:01:28] Absolutely.
[1:01:29] Do you think that America is going to be 10 X 20?
[1:01:33] I've talked to, you know, to Michael and yourself about this a little bit and you know, we've got some 4,000 plus clients, you know, I seen today, we've got another 120 just signing up and starting as we speak, we welcomed and congratulated them.
[1:01:45] But yeah,
[1:01:46] I understand there's 350-odd million Americans.
[1:01:50] On that percentage, mate, I'm very excited to what you may be able to do.
[1:01:55] I think in the next 12 months you'll probably blow what we've done in Australia over.
[1:01:58] Well, I get the community piece excites me as we merge these communities because...
[1:02:04] I actually think that the Americans are a lot more passionate and patriotic in a lot of aspects, whether it be veterans or sport.
[1:02:12] Without question.
[1:02:13] There's so much passion in everything that they do.
[1:02:16] There is.
[1:02:17] Absolutely.
[1:02:18] And I'm excited to merge these communities to learn off each other.
[1:02:21] It's going to be mind-blowing.
[1:02:22] Because then I look at what we do charity-wise and community-wise and I'm like...
[1:02:27] What could we pull off each year as far as supporting different causes with that joint combined passion, shared and infused?
[1:02:36] That's nice.
[1:02:37] That gets me goosebumps.
[1:02:39] And what's exciting for us too here in Australia, and we've spoken to the client base here,
[1:02:44] We can't wait to do that as well because we'll have so many learnings from them about their culture, their life, you know, what's happening within the world.
[1:02:52] And it's funny too because they do a lot of things quite differently to us and we do them quite differently to them.
[1:02:58] But then when I take my brain and translate there, I'm like, how do you not do this?
[1:03:03] And they're like, what?
[1:03:04] Shit, we haven't thought of that.
[1:03:05] Yeah.
[1:03:05] Absolutely.
[1:03:06] But then likewise, they're like, why don't you do this?
[1:03:09] And it's like that cross-pollinating of knowledge is wildly beneficial.
[1:03:15] Yes.
[1:03:15] Yeah.
[1:03:17] To go, well, hey, I do this.
[1:03:18] And yes, our systems and frameworks and all these sorts of things are different.
[1:03:24] But those learnings are going to be pretty cool as well.
[1:03:26] They're going to be amazing.
[1:03:27] Absolutely.
[1:03:28] It's going to blow up.
[1:03:28] Very exciting times.
[1:03:30] You're going to have to find an Oscar 2.0 to get there first time.
[1:03:33] That's it.
[1:03:34] That's true.
[1:03:35] I'm sure there's plenty ready to rock and roll.
[1:03:37] I'm sure he's inspired a lot, actually, even since we were there in August.
[1:03:40] Now, tell me before I wrap up on the American side and jump back to Australia for a second.
[1:03:46] What guidance could you give to Americans when they're watching the free webinars and listening to the podcast if they're in the USA?
[1:03:54] What guidance would you give to them if they're like...
[1:03:57] We've got 50, 60, 80 grand a credit card.
[1:04:00] We've got an auto loan on our truck.
[1:04:01] We've got student education debt.
[1:04:04] I can't see the forest for the trees.
[1:04:06] You know, they're drowning.
[1:04:08] What words of wisdom could you share from a family that was in that position just a couple of years ago?
[1:04:13] I think before mum and dad get on the more sort of practical financial side of things, I think just advice like you gave me.
[1:04:21] I think that...
[1:04:23] listening to this community in this group we're real people we've got real stories and there's there's thousands and thousands of people like us um the only advice i could give you if if you're interested in this and if you want to go forward with this is don't half-ass it if you want to change your life if you want to change
[1:04:41] where you're at, go all in, trust the process and make a difference in your life.
[1:04:48] A hundred percent.
[1:04:49] Absolutely.
[1:04:49] And an extension to that from a parental point of view, you know, we had private school fees.
[1:04:55] You know, we've changed since then and gone into the public system, which we're more happier with.
[1:04:59] But we had three with braces.
[1:05:00] We had all the same things that everybody else has, you know, kids that are never not hungry.
[1:05:06] But as Oscar said, if you're willing to do the work and you're willing to do what you learn, the result is clear.
[1:05:14] Infinity, we're advocates of that.
[1:05:17] Why?
[1:05:18] Because we have changed.
[1:05:20] We continue to grow and change.
[1:05:21] It's evolving.
[1:05:22] We set greater whys and...
[1:05:24] creative goals tomorrow we jump on an airplane for a couple of weeks to go to another asian country for a holiday so that's really important for america's show yeah you guys are still having overseas japan is going entirely you're still traveling the world you're still living your life you just have a structure and a framework absolutely it is mathematically correct
[1:05:42] If you adhere to it, you win.
[1:05:44] And we get to share more.
[1:05:45] We get to donate to people, strangers.
[1:05:47] But for the Americans specifically, if you want something, set a very clear path.
[1:05:55] Move all the distractions.
[1:05:56] Maybe change your social circles.
[1:05:58] Maybe you need to change your employment.
[1:06:01] And then work with infinity.
[1:06:04] Could this company work?
[1:06:05] Has it got the right mould?
[1:06:06] And is it knowledgeable enough?
[1:06:08] Well, yes, it is.
[1:06:09] It works in Australia exceptionally well.
[1:06:12] It will absolutely work in the United States for you.
[1:06:15] But you must make a formidable decision like Oscar said.
[1:06:18] I want it bad enough.
[1:06:19] And I'm willing to take some pain to get there.
[1:06:21] We might get you guys to do a little five, ten-minute chat on the free webinar as we turn on in America.
[1:06:27] I think that will help people as well.
[1:06:29] And they can watch that, process that.
[1:06:31] They can listen to this or watch this.
[1:06:33] I think that will help as well.
[1:06:34] The more people we can talk to because it's exactly what makes we speak to a lot of people that we've changed or made an impact towards.
[1:06:42] And it's the realness of our lives.
[1:06:43] story and it's the realness of our results that is what excites people.
[1:06:48] And, you know, talking about our trip, we went on a trip for a big birthday last January and there was nine of us.
[1:06:55] We paid for two girlfriends and we did not have any credit card.
[1:06:59] We travelled without a credit card and paid for it in full.
[1:07:02] And I remember coming back saying, David and the kids were all sitting at the airport.
[1:07:06] And I said, isn't this ridiculous?
[1:07:07] We've just done three weeks overseas.
[1:07:10] And we had no... Nine people.
[1:07:12] Nine people.
[1:07:13] And at that airport, you're talking to each of your boys about what their goals are and what they're achieving.
[1:07:18] So anything's possible.
[1:07:20] Yes, it's going to be pain and suffering.
[1:07:21] Yes, there's going to be some hardship.
[1:07:23] But that just makes the victory sweeter.
[1:07:25] Yeah.
[1:07:25] But infinity's guidance and knowledge and your burn and desire, mate, you will not let them fall over.
[1:07:31] If they're willing to get in and back... You've got to do the work.
[1:07:34] If you're not going to do the work, I'm out.
[1:07:36] But if they put their hand up,
[1:07:37] and they stay connected to this amazing team of people and the brilliant staff you have, the sky's the limit for each and every one of them.
[1:07:45] If you put in the work and you listen to what Infinity's teaching and you go all in, then if you show your commitment towards Infinity and Graham, they'll show the same commitment back and it'll just be a ride to the sunset.
[1:08:02] I appreciate it.
[1:08:03] We love that.
[1:08:04] Really, we're going to get you guys onto the webinar and we'll get you back over to do some events there as well for the live.
[1:08:10] We would love that.
[1:08:11] I think that you're really going to – and they're such beautiful people.
[1:08:15] As you said, once they realise what's real and it's engaged, they're all in.
[1:08:19] They're super passionate.
[1:08:20] Aussies are a bit more, yeah, she'd be sweet, mate.
[1:08:23] Yeah, show another shrimp on the barbie.
[1:08:25] And then the next thing comes along.
[1:08:26] But our American brothers, they're like –
[1:08:28] Wow, okay, and they get real passionate about it.
[1:08:31] Yeah, absolutely.
[1:08:31] So I really appreciate you guys taking time to come over for that.
[1:08:34] We'll get you back over so some people that hear this and see this can actually meet you guys as well.
[1:08:39] So thank you.
[1:08:39] That would be fantastic.
[1:08:40] We look forward to it.
[1:08:40] Thanks, guys.
[1:08:43] Now jumping back to Australia for a second.
[1:08:47] I want you to, if there was one young man or woman out there right now, if there was one family out there with six, seven in the family right now, I want you to give some words of wisdom for those people tuning in going, nah, paid actors, load of shit, nah.
[1:09:05] I've seen these videos of people saying, nah, read Raw Offset's the same.
[1:09:09] Well, clearly it fucking isn't for thousands of us, but...
[1:09:12] What are some words of wisdom for people?
[1:09:15] Oh, budget means you've got to eat fucking two-minute noodles six ways.
[1:09:18] Apparently it means you take nine people on an overseas holiday without a credit card with cash.
[1:09:23] Absolutely.
[1:09:24] And you don't have credit cards anymore and you have multiple investments and you've paid your home loan off and you've bought your first property.
[1:09:30] And now generationally.
[1:09:32] So I want to wrap up today with some words of wisdom.
[1:09:35] Sure.
[1:09:36] In no particular order.
[1:09:37] I just want to jump around.
[1:09:38] What could you guys share with other people tuning into this?
[1:09:41] Because they're obviously listening.
[1:09:42] They're like, I want some financial nuggets of gold or I want some guidance.
[1:09:45] What could you share with them?
[1:09:47] Separate of us.
[1:09:47] I mean, forget that we'll look infinity this, that.
[1:09:50] What's your experiences that you can share?
[1:09:53] So interestingly, just in the past couple of months in the lead up to Christmas, you know, anywhere on planet Earth, it's a very difficult time for all families, whether you celebrate Christmas or not.
[1:10:04] It's financial hardship, you get emotional or, you know, there's a bit of mental health trauma there because you've got to catch up with family and what I've achieved throughout the year.
[1:10:12] So I've crossed paths with several long-term relationships and friends.
[1:10:17] I've had some amazing phone calls and contact for people that have been 15, 20 years out of my life.
[1:10:23] And one of the trigger moments in the previous podcast that we did, Jay, was the moment that I said, I don't pay tax, my business never paid tax, and I had to rebuild my business and move forward.
[1:10:34] And I took Infinity's guidance for that.
[1:10:37] And now I buy multiple investment properties and my finances have changed.
[1:10:41] That gentleman has gone on and he's done a master class and he's got multiple other people that he's passed that moment of that podcast onto.
[1:10:50] you know, a whole period of time to answer the questions that he had.
[1:10:54] This is a friend.
[1:10:55] This is a friend.
[1:10:55] Yeah.
[1:10:57] But what Oscar's taught me, God love him, is Dad used to run back and try and share it with the whole world and fix planet Earth.
[1:11:04] And unfortunately, he's selling.
[1:11:06] So it's not my position to sell infinity.
[1:11:09] All you can do is tell when someone asks.
[1:11:11] It's up to them to go.
[1:11:12] And when they're ready, they're ready.
[1:11:13] Yeah.
[1:11:14] So what the light bulb moment for him was, was I just retracted and given the free content.
[1:11:19] I pushed him to some podcasts.
[1:11:21] I thought, you know what, Bill and Sarah or, you know, George and Mary, they're the people that you want to push them to because it's going to suit his situation.
[1:11:30] And that's developing and working very well.
[1:11:33] Another gentleman that I caught up with only a couple of days ago and Oscar sat and watched, you know, Dad in full motion of Infinity War.
[1:11:40] and this gentleman's got a significant amount of money.
[1:11:42] I've been friends with him for life, and I haven't quite got him over the line yet, but he wants to retire.
[1:11:49] He's very troubled and trapped, and he's got 100 whys to what if and what can go wrong and why gee and what's his driving force.
[1:11:58] So I explain your backstory and your hardship, and I talk about Beck and her incredible, brilliant brain and the backbone of the company, Michael Lane's involvement.
[1:12:07] And the quality of the staff.
[1:12:09] And I'm finding many people around Jackie and I now, they're watching our lifestyle, our happiness, our marriage, our children and just our whole prosperity on life change.
[1:12:21] And instead of me trying to upsell and push forward and brand infinity...
[1:12:26] People are coming to us and quite often we'll sit on a masterclass and we'll jump on and help out.
[1:12:34] Some nights we get 50, 60 random friend requests.
[1:12:37] And honestly, gee, I'll go two, three days, don't I, mate, at work, and I'll be on the phone for an hour with a perfectly random stranger.
[1:12:45] You guys are too kind.
[1:12:46] But it's incredible.
[1:12:48] I cannot explain to you and thank you.
[1:12:50] In my small part of infinity, I am so empowered.
[1:12:54] and so privileged.
[1:12:55] Some of these very people, which you've met, Bill and Sarah's and whatever, and they've joined because of us or our story.
[1:13:02] And we're not selling them anything.
[1:13:03] We're not trying to teach them anything.
[1:13:05] We're just saying this is our life.
[1:13:06] It's worked for us.
[1:13:07] You're fine with your family and friends of yours, so I've been doing it 25 years.
[1:13:11] They watch.
[1:13:12] Naturally, people want to see you fail because then they're right and you're wrong.
[1:13:15] Absolutely.
[1:13:16] When you not only don't fail, when you start to shoot the lights out,
[1:13:22] That's when they start asking.
[1:13:24] That's right.
[1:13:24] So true.
[1:13:25] Okay, you've been doing this for a couple of years now and it keeps getting better, you keep getting happier, you keep getting healthier, you keep getting wealthier.
[1:13:32] And again, just share, answer the question, but leave it to them.
[1:13:35] When they're ready, when they're in enough pain, they'll make a change.
[1:13:40] If they're flush with cash and they want to retire, well, he can't afford to make a mistake because he's ready to retire, that friend.
[1:13:46] He also probably isn't in enough pain if you're flush with cash to do anything to have any gain.
[1:13:51] Absolutely.
[1:13:51] And the truth be told, maybe he just does nothing.
[1:13:54] Maybe he just literally puts that money into whatever he feels is safe and secure to sleep at night.
[1:13:59] Don't pay anyone.
[1:14:00] Don't get any advisors.
[1:14:02] And nothing will get any better, but it won't get any worse.
[1:14:04] And if you're comfortable with that, I genuinely say to that person, just do that.
[1:14:09] It's indifferent to me.
[1:14:10] Nothing's changing my life.
[1:14:11] You're going to change your life, absolutely.
[1:14:13] But I think for the people that are feeling the pain, ask the questions, ask the questions.
[1:14:18] Do the free webinar five times.
[1:14:21] Listen to 15 podcasts.
[1:14:23] And there's always a wife's interested, husband's sceptic.
[1:14:27] husband's interested, wife's scared.
[1:14:29] Watch 10, 15 podcasts, see their real people on social media and go, well, fuck, what have I got to lose?
[1:14:36] Sorry, you go.
[1:14:38] My recent post that I've just done is the key point of it is to stay open-minded and stay open to new things, stay open to new ideas and don't be shut off to things that might not make sense when you first get introduced to it.
[1:14:52] Mm-hmm.
[1:14:53] If you're open-minded and you go into a room and you're open-minded, you talk to people, etc., you will learn so much more than being one opinionated, being I know everything.
[1:15:03] If you go in being the beginner and you'll learn so much more than being the know-it-all.
[1:15:11] you surround yourself by the right people I think that's one of the biggest advice givers I can give if you, like me, I surround myself with this amazing community I'm surrounded by my family every day doing similar things my group of friends my girlfriend, she's an amazing support I think if you can surround yourself by the right people, if you can be open minded to new ideas, new suggestions then the world's your oyster
[1:15:39] Don't know what you don't know.
[1:15:40] That's it.
[1:15:41] First you learn, then you earn.
[1:15:43] If you're ready to make a change and you're prepared to do the work and take good advice, what have you got to lose?
[1:15:50] That's what I always say.
[1:15:51] We're just a regular family that took the right advice and did the work and, you know, the whole world has changed for us.
[1:15:57] You know, one of the key questions, G, if you could just delve into that with Jackie.
[1:16:00] You met us.
[1:16:01] Jackie was, you know, permanent part-time.
[1:16:04] I didn't earn a freaking cent and paid no tax.
[1:16:06] Well, no, you did.
[1:16:06] But whatever you – and this is the problem with self-employed.
[1:16:10] Everything you earned, you spent, so you didn't pay any tax.
[1:16:14] Absolutely.
[1:16:14] There's no magical one that says I earned 200 grand and I wrote off 200 grand and pay zero tax.
[1:16:20] If you wrote it off, you spent it.
[1:16:22] In other words, you weren't fuck all.
[1:16:25] And this is the problem with Australian culture, for tradies especially.
[1:16:28] Totally.
[1:16:29] The tools, the this, the car, the you...
[1:16:31] If you earn it and you spend it, you made nothing.
[1:16:34] Yeah.
[1:16:34] You literally spent it all because to get a deduction, you had that outlay or that expense incurred and you got a percentage of it back typically, not all of it, which means you actually probably lost money because you got this shit or these things that you stopped losing and you got a percentage of it, not all of it back.
[1:16:52] So you...
[1:16:52] You earned it, you spent it, you got some shit, and now where are you?
[1:16:56] Nowhere.
[1:16:57] That's right.
[1:16:57] So it's tough.
[1:16:58] Through your guidance and your advice, you know, I have plenty of friends and work colleagues around us.
[1:17:04] Jackie, why would you go full-time?
[1:17:05] Yeah.
[1:17:06] Why would you get so many career increases?
[1:17:09] And they say, where are you off to this weekend?
[1:17:11] Sneaking up the Gold Coast.
[1:17:12] Well, not for that thing again.
[1:17:14] She's vibrant.
[1:17:15] She's happy.
[1:17:16] She's had multiple job promotions.
[1:17:17] She's earning incredible income.
[1:17:20] And some of our family and friends are troubled by that because they're like, well, haven't you got investment properties?
[1:17:26] And why are you always on holidays?
[1:17:27] And why are you working harder?
[1:17:29] Because we're driven and we're motivated by you and Infinity every day.
[1:17:34] What would you explain to those people, Gene, why we're burning?
[1:17:37] It's none of their fucking business.
[1:17:39] Because if you ain't under the roof and you aren't contributing to the household, it's not.
[1:17:44] It's none of your business.
[1:17:45] Now, if you want to ask a family, hey, I see you're doing really well, could you share how?
[1:17:50] Sure, they'll share with you.
[1:17:52] But then go and execute yourself.
[1:17:53] But if you ain't contributing to the bills, you don't have a mortgage anymore.
[1:17:57] If you ain't paying the mortgage, if you ain't paying the electricity, the rent, the water, the whatever,
[1:18:01] Shut the fuck up.
[1:18:02] It's none of your business.
[1:18:03] Well, that's what I say.
[1:18:04] And what do you want to do?
[1:18:06] Work part-time, sit at home, twiddle your thumbs.
[1:18:09] You've got a beautiful brain.
[1:18:10] You've got all this education.
[1:18:12] Why wouldn't you go contribute to society and help you work in the healthcare?
[1:18:15] Why wouldn't you better yourself?
[1:18:17] And it is about bettering yourself.
[1:18:19] It's not just financially, you know.
[1:18:20] It's so much more than that.
[1:18:22] If you don't use it, you lose it.
[1:18:25] I was going to say our other 13-year-old twin, Jonah, he said in class, they're in year seven, they've just finished year seven, they're year eight this year, but in class they were talking about themselves.
[1:18:35] And in his speech he said, you know, my name's Jonah, da-da-da-da, and he said, and be a good person and put your trolley back.
[1:18:43] And I didn't even know he'd done that.
[1:18:44] But that's where it ripples through.
[1:18:46] It's just a good test.
[1:18:47] It ripples through.
[1:18:48] It's a good test.
[1:18:48] It's not just about money.
[1:18:49] I actually watched a guy, because we've moved recently, in Little Woolies, where we are in the cafe, and I watched a gentleman the other day, and he was coming back from his car, and I was sitting outside the cafe, and I'm having my poached eggs and coffee, and I watched him collect three trolleys along the way.
[1:19:02] Oh, see?
[1:19:03] And put them all out the front.
[1:19:05] And I was like...
[1:19:06] Good on you, mate.
[1:19:06] Like, just that little bit of effort, you know what I mean?
[1:19:08] Absolutely.
[1:19:09] But then there's also three shitbags who just dump it.
[1:19:11] Dump it, yeah.
[1:19:12] Straight in the side of your car.
[1:19:13] Or some little old lady can't get into the car park.
[1:19:17] That's right.
[1:19:17] Because there's a trolley in the way, you know.
[1:19:19] But it's the little things like that that do.
[1:19:21] The kids are listening.
[1:19:22] The kids, you know, as we're doing all these changes.
[1:19:25] For our American friends, that's a cart.
[1:19:27] Yeah.
[1:19:27] Yeah, that's right.
[1:19:29] That's right.
[1:19:30] But the kids are listening and the kids watch you.
[1:19:32] And as role models now, we feel so empowered that we're not just teaching them about money.
[1:19:36] It goes so much deeper, doesn't it, mate?
[1:19:38] Absolutely.
[1:19:38] It's about being a good person, giving back.
[1:19:41] And, you know, just quickly, G2.
[1:19:44] Just touching on part of that credit card debt was paying off multiple private school fees.
[1:19:50] Yeah.
[1:19:50] Now I'm all for private school.
[1:19:53] Doesn't mean you can afford it.
[1:19:55] They don't do any assessment of your income.
[1:19:57] They just say, yep, your kids can come.
[1:19:59] You're in.
[1:20:00] I know so many people go on broke paying for private school.
[1:20:02] And you know, it suits some people do not get me wrong.
[1:20:05] There's some beautiful, you know, teachers within that Damon's excelling at private school.
[1:20:10] So we're, we're following through with that.
[1:20:11] But, but,
[1:20:12] Just a year ago, mate, we said to you we're going to go into the public system.
[1:20:15] There's this wonderful little program, specialised sports and academia.
[1:20:19] Both Devin and Jonah had a trial for that on their own merit.
[1:20:23] They got that.
[1:20:24] Mate, they walked away with best and fairest and multiple trophies like your shelf here for the year in a public mixed school social environment.
[1:20:33] We couldn't be prouder.
[1:20:34] And they are so proud of themselves.
[1:20:35] I mean, it's time of their lives.
[1:20:36] and it was 300 bucks each yeah so you think of the financial change that the cherries have been able to implement by that and look you know it's only early in the days it's first year in there but it's up to them yeah yeah they picked yep absolutely guys i want to thank you for being so raw and open and honest and sharing so much and coming to america and hopefully shortly coming back
[1:21:00] sharing in Australia and now America as well.
[1:21:02] I just really want to thank you for that and being so raw and open and taking the time to answer people's questions and being so genuine because I know that there's so many families in the thousands of families that that's really helped them take their next step.
[1:21:16] So I just really want to thank you for that today on behalf of everybody.
[1:21:19] You should be really proud of yourselves and I'm really, really excited to see what the journey looks like in another six or 12 months for you.
[1:21:26] So I just want to say thank you on behalf of...
[1:21:28] Bec and I and the entire community because it's really, really special to have so many people so willing to be so open.
[1:21:36] So thank you.
[1:21:37] We need to say thank you too because, you know.
[1:21:39] We get paid for it.
[1:21:40] No, no, no.
[1:21:41] This is more than paid.
[1:21:42] I'm never going to not be grateful to you, G. That's right.
[1:21:45] It's not a job for us but it's a job.
[1:21:47] But we have fun.
[1:21:48] We all love what we do.
[1:21:49] And I think it's the first time in years that we have an amazing team that are all super competent and they all love what they do.
[1:21:57] And that's that special spark and momentum at the moment.
[1:22:00] But thank you guys.
[1:22:01] It's our pleasure.
[1:22:02] Thank you, Jay.
[1:22:03] Cheers.
[1:22:03] You're fucking gone.
[1:22:04] See ya.
