In this episode of Changing Lives Financially, we sit down with Jarryd & Katelyn to unpack their journey from feeling stuck with rising debt and no budget to building a clear, structured financial plan with Infinity. They share how they first discovered Infinity, what stood out to them about Graeme’s approach, and why the program felt different from anything they had tried before. Jarryd & Katelyn open up about what life looked like before joining — a $740k home loan, $15k in credit card debt, scattered finances, and no clear direction and how everything shifted once they began working with Brandon, their Relationship Manager. They talk honestly about how having personalised guidance gave them clarity, confidence, and accountability through every step of the process. With their FFF dropping from $720 to $520 per week, they’ve completely changed the way they budget, spend, and save. They discuss the Infinity community, how budgeting has reshaped their mindset, the real struggles they faced along the way, and the wins that kept them going. Today, they’ve reduced their home loan by $120k in just eight months, have redraw and offset buffers, and now hold four investment properties, including one in their SMSF, with a portfolio valued at $4.2 million. 👉 Watch the free webinar to start your journey: https://bit.ly/43V2jKN

[0:00] With Infinity, it's been a mind change and a bit of a wow moment too, just with knowing that we've got four investments, how you can change a super and set yourself up in the future.
[0:13] Yeah, it's cool.
[0:15] Yeah.
[0:16] We're definitely much more relaxed financially.
[0:19] Yes, that's a big one.
[0:20] I don't have to stress it.
[0:21] You've got a hell of a man in your ego.
[0:23] Yeah, that's right.
[0:25] Money is the root of all evil.
[0:26] The fucking lack of it is.
[0:27] Not money, the lack of understanding money.
[0:30] When I put that into emphasis, when I realized our psychological effect and how it hit our family, I have to be in the fucking way.
[0:36] You are now watching the money made to a podcast with Graham Hunt.
[0:40] Graham Hunt.
[0:40] Graham Hunt.
[0:40] Graham Hunt.
[0:41] Graham Hunt.
[0:45] and go and see ya.
[0:47] So I've got my wonderful clients, Jared and Caitlin here.
[0:49] I'm their relationship manager.
[0:51] Welcome.
[0:52] Thank you.
[0:52] Thank you.
[0:53] Welcome, welcome.
[0:54] So first question, why infinity?
[0:58] Oh, we were stuck like everybody else, just trying to,
[1:02] find I guess a way that we can set a legacy for our family and get a few investments in play and didn't know where to look Didn't know what to buy stressing our heads off more so me I think than you in terms of what we could afford and we just need some guidance and we looked at a few other I guess players in the game and then Caitlin actually found G which was yeah
[1:25] Yeah, it was good on socials and then we sort of went through, watched the webinar and stuck with the series.
[1:31] What did you like about Jake?
[1:33] Just his personality.
[1:35] He just says it how it is, like there's no beating around the bush with him.
[1:39] Yeah.
[1:39] He's straight up.
[1:40] You like the progressive swear words?
[1:42] Yes.
[1:42] Yes.
[1:43] Yeah.
[1:44] As we were saying before, in our webinar, he booted Hunter out and got him a fuckknuckle pump, which is pretty sick, so...
[1:51] It kind of resonated and went, this is our dude.
[1:53] He doesn't talk shit.
[1:55] He doesn't take shit.
[1:56] He just says everything as it is, which is great.
[1:59] Calls a spade a spade.
[2:01] So how have you found having a relationship manager so far?
[2:04] Yeah, great.
[2:04] Like...
[2:06] I think we were suited well to you because you're, you know, like-minded like us and you've got a young family and, yeah, we've been really good so far.
[2:15] Young family, yeah.
[2:16] You've got another one on the way very shortly.
[2:19] We do.
[2:20] Yes, a REM baby, which is exciting.
[2:22] Now, that's wild.
[2:22] That's cool.
[2:23] I know.
[2:23] A REM baby.
[2:24] Yeah.
[2:24] There's a few of those going on there.
[2:27] Yeah, they're not shy, that's for sure.
[2:29] which is good.
[2:29] But no, I love it.
[2:30] It's actually really cool.
[2:31] It's someone you can depend on.
[2:33] Like you're the best to talk with, get along with.
[2:36] Whenever we need anything or questions, we just give you a shout and you're pretty responsive, which is the way to go.
[2:40] Like the coffee machine.
[2:41] Yeah, exactly.
[2:43] Definitely, definitely.
[2:44] But like Caitlin said, very like-minded and I think it's good.
[2:47] It's sort of,
[2:49] It's the one person you can go to that you feel comfortable to sort of ask questions about.
[2:54] And it's not just budget.
[2:55] It's just, it's everything.
[2:56] It's just life stuff, isn't it?
[2:57] Yeah.
[2:58] Yeah.
[2:58] Yeah.
[2:59] Yeah.
[2:59] I love all my clients and having to yarn.
[3:02] It's not always about budget.
[3:03] I think it's super important to build a super strong rapport with your clients.
[3:07] Oh, 100%.
[3:07] Yeah.
[3:08] Yeah.
[3:08] And we don't have that pressure either.
[3:09] We don't think like it's, oh, we've got to talk budget.
[3:11] It's how are you?
[3:13] How's your kids?
[3:14] What are you doing?
[3:15] We'll chat with you next month.
[3:16] It's cool and I like the monthly check-in, it's great.
[3:19] You sort of get to keep up to date because everything changes, right?
[3:22] So prior to Infinity you had a credit card.
[3:25] Yes.
[3:26] That's obviously gone.
[3:27] Yeah.
[3:27] And you didn't have a budget.
[3:29] No.
[3:29] No, we had a budget on food, but I mean.
[3:32] We didn't stick to it.
[3:33] Yeah.
[3:35] Is it even called a budget?
[3:37] No.
[3:37] And you started at 720.
[3:40] Yes.
[3:41] Your budget?
[3:41] Oh, yes.
[3:42] Sorry for our FFF.
[3:43] And now you're down at?
[3:45] 520.
[3:46] Yeah, which was exciting.
[3:47] So we dropped it at 620 and then there was the event on.
[3:51] The challenge?
[3:52] Yeah, the challenge, which was cool and smashed that one, which was great.
[3:56] And now we've just stuck with it.
[3:57] How did you drop about 200 bucks?
[3:58] What did you change?
[4:01] Not really much, I guess.
[4:03] We kind of just were a bit more strict on meal plans and what we were doing.
[4:08] It's not hard.
[4:08] It's pretty easy.
[4:09] You just stick with a plan and plan works.
[4:12] And you guys are very active on the socials, the school group.
[4:15] Yes.
[4:16] What's the Infinity family mean to you guys?
[4:20] I just like it.
[4:20] It's cool.
[4:20] You can chat, talk, and you don't feel like you're out of place.
[4:24] Everyone's on the same boat.
[4:25] And it's cool to share your experiences and hear other people's experiences.
[4:30] And then just sort of feel a sense of belonging and with like-minded people.
[4:34] It's great.
[4:36] It's like the whole taboo about money, but it's not worth it.
[4:39] Community, it's awesome.
[4:40] Yeah, it's a great community.
[4:42] There's a bunch of personalities and characters in the community.
[4:46] Yeah, I love it for that reason.
[4:49] I went to the gym the other day and someone was wearing an Infinity shirt.
[4:52] I was like, oh, my God.
[4:53] I didn't disturb them.
[4:54] I was like, oh, they're mid-set.
[4:55] They're locked in.
[4:56] They're locked in.
[4:57] I'll let them do their thing.
[4:58] But I was like, oh.
[5:00] Cool.
[5:00] I wonder who their relationship manager is.
[5:02] Did you find out?
[5:04] No, not yet.
[5:05] I might put that in the Facebook group.
[5:06] Who trains at World Gym at Coomera?
[5:10] You might find more than one.
[5:11] You don't know.
[5:11] Exactly.
[5:12] Do you guys have any tips for anyone who's just signed up or thinking about signing up?
[5:19] Just stick to your meal plan.
[5:21] Yeah, that's a good one.
[5:22] I'm into making meals for our little bub.
[5:25] That's just a crap load easier than buying shit out.
[5:30] You mean snacks.
[5:31] Yeah, snacks.
[5:31] Sorry, snacks.
[5:33] But definitely sticking with a budget's great.
[5:35] Other tips are like, you don't need to buy anything and everything.
[5:39] Just think about it.
[5:39] What do you need?
[5:40] What's a want and then what's a need?
[5:43] And knuckle it down that way.
[5:45] Marketplace is great.
[5:47] That's a good one.
[5:47] Thrift shopping.
[5:48] We're a fanatic for that.
[5:49] It's so good.
[5:50] You can find some sweet deals like
[5:53] one person's trash is another one's treasure, I guess.
[5:56] Your shopping's awesome, huh?
[5:57] Yeah, you get some sick stuff.
[5:58] We bought most of our daughter's clothes from there.
[6:01] Katelyn's got a few nice dresses and I've got a few other bits and pieces and it's sick.
[6:05] Yeah, I think my partner did all our shopping on Marketplace, eh?
[6:08] Oh, really?
[6:09] Yeah.
[6:10] And the same furniture or anything around the house, like toys, we've done it for toys.
[6:14] She's always like, oh, there's someone coming over.
[6:16] I'm like, who?
[6:17] Just enter the door, they're buying something.
[6:19] Yeah, it's so funny, just random people rocking up.
[6:22] Are you buying or are we selling?
[6:24] I'm the one who always has to deal with it.
[6:27] She's like, no, you go.
[6:28] I'm like, oh, okay.
[6:28] She obviously doesn't like to deal with people.
[6:30] Nah.
[6:32] I can't blame her, to be honest.
[6:35] You do get some wacky ones.
[6:36] I'll definitely say that.
[6:38] But no, it's good.
[6:39] And spreadsheeting and comparing stuff.
[6:42] Like biggest one is finding utility bills and insurances and the likes of those.
[6:47] Like I'm a bit of a stifler for Excel, so I've got anything and everything on there trying to find what's the best deal, which is good.
[6:58] I could just point some light.
[7:00] Engineer.
[7:01] Yeah, tight ass.
[7:01] Yeah, engineers are tight asses, yeah.
[7:04] So it's good and I've even given it to some of the work friends and it's funny, you hear some of them, they go, oh, why is that so cheap?
[7:11] And I just said, well, you just ask them and there's a quote and they go, oh shit, I've paid the same one for the last six years.
[7:16] And I go, well,
[7:18] who's the idiot now, I guess.
[7:19] But not in that sense, but.
[7:21] And you've actually got mates who are thinking about signing up, yeah?
[7:26] Maybe.
[7:27] We've asked, or I've presented them with a webinar and just said, follow the process, see what happens and we'll see.
[7:34] I haven't asked them yet.
[7:35] I didn't want to pressure them too much.
[7:36] But I'll touch in with them again in another few times and see what happens.
[7:41] Yeah, cool.
[7:42] And what does your family think about Infinity?
[7:44] Have you told them?
[7:45] um we've told some family but not much i think sort of selective on who we do tell yeah as everybody knows it's people just think it's a raw it's a scam it's a cult yeah big cult which is great
[8:01] But I don't know.
[8:03] It's just you've got to pick who you want to tell.
[8:04] And I guess it's like money's taboo, right?
[8:08] Yeah.
[8:08] Sort of tricky.
[8:10] Yeah.
[8:10] We're happy to tell and present.
[8:12] But then you get questions or you get weird faces or definitely weird comments.
[8:17] Yeah.
[8:18] I know what you're saying.
[8:19] Yeah.
[8:19] Yeah.
[8:20] Sometimes it's just easier not to discuss it.
[8:22] Not to talk about it.
[8:23] Yeah.
[8:23] Because everyone has their own ideas.
[8:24] So many toothless Timmies.
[8:25] Yeah.
[8:26] Everywhere.
[8:27] The barbecue mafia everywhere.
[8:29] Yeah.
[8:29] And you're just going to let the process roll out and it'll speak for itself.
[8:33] 100%.
[8:33] Yeah.
[8:34] That'll be time will tell.
[8:36] it's just sad to think that people are being a toothless to me and offering the wrong advice and you just sit there and shake your head and you're saying no better now joining infinity and learning all the things that we have it's sort of better just to keep quiet oh yeah your head and just do your thing yeah let the results speak that's right 100 i love that yeah yeah definitely so what have you guys struggled with the most following the infinity way any challenges at all
[9:04] not really maybe just trying not to tell as many people as we would like yeah what about you yeah it's a hard one i think yeah not like not discussing it with everyone because yeah of their reactions and stuff like that yeah
[9:27] But not necessarily, like it's not hard.
[9:29] You're doing pretty good.
[9:30] Like budget-wise, you guys have been smashing it.
[9:32] Your sweeps are really good.
[9:33] Yeah.
[9:34] Like you don't overspend, which is some of the main things people struggle with, the budgeting side of things.
[9:39] Yeah.
[9:41] No, we haven't.
[9:42] Like I'm a bit of the tight ass, but you are as well, which is good.
[9:46] So like-minded people, it works well.
[9:48] For you, it's good.
[9:49] Yes.
[9:50] I guess going to the shops, I look at things and I'm like, oh, do I really want to pay that much for that?
[9:55] Yeah.
[9:55] No.
[9:56] 100%.
[9:56] I can totally leave that there.
[9:58] You can get the challenges of FOMO, I guess, like you would if people were going to do stuff and you're like, oh, yeah, no, it's not really.
[10:05] You know in your head it's not in your FFF.
[10:07] But sometimes you can because you might have a little bit of a buffer that you've had from the week to before where you haven't done much.
[10:14] But that's probably the only real challenge is sort of not trying to, one, blurt it out to people and two, you get a bit of FOMO, but not much.
[10:24] We don't really miss out on anything either.
[10:27] No.
[10:28] No, still same old, same old.
[10:30] Just got a sick team around us, which is cool.
[10:32] Nice.
[10:33] And good future that we like to look at, which is awesome.
[10:36] I love that.
[10:36] Yeah.
[10:37] So prior to Infinity, what was your situation?
[10:40] And now what's your situation financially?
[10:43] Well, we've got our PPR, we'd refinanced to get some equity and looking for an investment.
[10:51] Struggled on trying to find what we could afford, forecasting out with future kids.
[10:57] And the stresses of that was, I guess, a bit hard.
[11:02] We're doing okay.
[11:03] We were still paying a bit off our house, which is nice.
[11:07] And we're doing everything.
[11:08] So I think before we were all right, we weren't struggling, but we weren't great either.
[11:13] I think now with Infinity, it's been a mind change and a bit of a wow moment too, just with like knowing that we've got four investments and how you can change your super and set yourself up in the future.
[11:28] Yeah, it's cool.
[11:31] We're definitely much more relaxed financially.
[11:34] Yes, that's a big one.
[11:35] I don't have to stress.
[11:36] You've got a healthy amount in your regular.
[11:38] Yeah, that's right.
[11:39] And we don't have to worry about what we're going to do.
[11:42] Teams.
[11:43] Yeah, that's right.
[11:44] That all comes out naturally now.
[11:46] We never really stressed about it either beforehand, but...
[11:49] we were the ones that had seven different accounts.
[11:51] And it was like, okay, yeah, we had the bills account.
[11:54] So it was fine, you could pull from that.
[11:55] But now it's just a lot better to have it consolidated and you can see it all.
[11:58] And it's, yeah, you can still see the process now and go, oh shit, like this is wild, it's crazy.
[12:07] I'm glad we're not following the barefoot investor.
[12:09] Yeah.
[12:11] Which we looked at at the start and all those sorts of things.
[12:13] So yeah.
[12:14] No, amazing.
[12:15] It's good.
[12:16] But we love it.
[12:17] I'm excited, happy.
[12:19] I think I've had a change in my mindset too, just with life and being a lot happier.
[12:24] Caitlin said that before I was stressed with work and then just like finance outside of work.
[12:29] That's a big one.
[12:30] Yeah.
[12:30] That's awesome.
[12:31] Yeah.
[12:31] That's awesome to hear.
[12:32] Yeah.
[12:32] It's just a great.
[12:33] Weight lifted off our shoulders.
[12:35] Amazing.
[12:36] Yeah.
[12:37] I'm happy to be here on the journey.
[12:38] Yeah.
[12:39] Can't wait.
[12:39] I'm going to smash it with you.
[12:41] So it's good.
[12:42] Awesome.
[12:42] Well, thank you guys for coming today.
[12:44] It's been amazing.
[12:46] I'm sure we'll have a catch up call pretty soon.
[12:48] Yeah.
[12:48] Yeah.
[12:49] No.
[12:49] Cheers.
[12:49] Thank you for having us.
[12:50] But yeah.
[12:51] Thank you.
[12:52] Keep smashing it.
[12:53] Appreciate you as well.
[12:54] Thank you.
[12:55] It's been awesome.
[12:56] Awesome.
[12:58] You're fucking gone.
[12:59] See ya.
