Kerry | Single Mum | Business OwnerIn this episode of The Money Mentor, Kerry discusses her dramatic financialtransformation over five years. A single mum who returned to Australia in 2003, Kerry followed G’s advice to simplify her property portfolio selling eight underperforming properties from an original nine and reinvest strategically. That disciplined execution, community support, and a long-term mindset enabled her to grow, briefly scale to 20+ assets, then downsize again to fund a dream two level penthouse in Main Beach, Gold Coast, while retaining a Sydney base. Kerry emphasises giving back, trusting experts, and that real change takes time and perseverance. The episode highlights the power ofstrategy, timing, and following sound guidance to achieve life changing property goals.Watch Kerry's earlier episode here: https://youtu.be/ANr4yD08LsI?si=gnBnYwVW_edx1QL4Excited to change your future? 👉 Start by watching the FREE webinar and see what's possible: https://bit.ly/43V2jKN

[0:00] He's told you what to do.
[0:01] You either say yes or stop wasting his time.
[0:04] And then left, went to right and said, let's go.
[0:06] And I remember saying to you, let's go.
[0:09] I'll just do whatever it takes.
[0:11] And I have to say, I actually get goosebumps because it's the best thing I've ever, ever, ever done, apart from having my child, who's now married.
[0:23] But you've changed my life.
[0:25] Money isn't rude of all evil, the fucking lack of it is.
[0:27] Not money, the lack of understanding money.
[0:30] When I put that into emphasis, when I realise our psychological effect and how it hit our family, I FDB all the fucking way.
[0:36] You are now watching the Money Mentor podcast.
[0:40] Kerry, a single mum to an 11-year-old boy, moved back to Sydney.
[0:45] Determined to build wealth for herself and her son, she worked hard to build a property portfolio.
[0:51] Kerry was in a good place.
[0:54] Until.
[0:56] Bad advice led to bad investments and the wrong strategy.
[1:03] Searching for help, Kerry found infinity.
[1:06] But the advice wasn't what she wanted to hear.
[1:09] Told to sell almost everything and start again.
[1:13] Shock set in.
[1:16] She did nothing for a year.
[1:19] Then she finally said, let's go.
[1:24] She rebuilt, restructured, reshuffled.
[1:29] Now she's securing her dream penthouse with strategy, with discipline, with control.
[1:39] What does it take to sell almost everything, rebuild smarter and come out stronger
[1:48] Stay tuned to find out.
[1:53] Welcome back to another episode of The Money Mentor.
[1:55] Very, very, very, very extremely lovely, beautiful, regular guest here.
[2:01] I wanted to introduce Kerry.
[2:02] Welcome back.
[2:03] How are you?
[2:03] Good to see you, G. It's always good to see you looking very golden and shiny.
[2:07] I'm the gold lady.
[2:08] You've lost a lot of weight.
[2:09] You look fantastic.
[2:11] Thank you so much.
[2:11] Can you give me some of the secrets?
[2:13] Yes.
[2:13] Yeah, consistency.
[2:14] Yeah, I know.
[2:16] Yeah, okay.
[2:16] Moving right along.
[2:17] Well, you've been very consistent in all things, actually.
[2:21] So we wanted to – and people can go back and listen to some of your earlier episodes and conversations together on both your podcast and our podcast.
[2:31] But I wanted to catch up today because your world has done a –
[2:37] almost complete 180 360 i don't know what i don't know which way we're do-si-do and round swing your partner round and round it's kind of it's kind of gone everywhere so maybe we'll start for the non-infinity fam community like random listeners or followers out there that see this um if you can give a quick
[2:55] A bit of background of when you found us, how you found us, that journey, who you are, what you do.
[3:02] Just a helicopter view.
[3:04] Helicopter view.
[3:05] Well, a single mum came back to Australia in 2003 from living in England.
[3:12] worked worked very hard in 2020 so just as COVID was starting I found you online on a zoom call and you did some coaching oh no forget it you coached me because I had nine properties and you said well here's what you need to do and you mud mapped it for me and said
[3:33] What I should do and what I should do and what I did do are two different things.
[3:37] But that's okay.
[3:38] You get there in the end.
[3:40] So it was very clear what I should do.
[3:43] And then life got in the way and I did nothing.
[3:45] But then I moved from Sydney to the Gold Coast, not realising how much I'd love the Gold Coast.
[3:51] And... Gold.
[3:52] Gold.
[3:53] Gold Coast.
[3:53] Gold lady.
[3:54] Gold Coast gold.
[3:55] It was a little bit of inevitable.
[3:56] Exactly.
[3:56] It's inevitable.
[3:58] And we met up again and I gave you a little scrap of paper with the nine properties I had in it.
[4:04] Because I'd lost contact, hadn't done anything.
[4:07] I joined, but did nothing.
[4:08] Yeah.
[4:09] We just started just sitting there on pause.
[4:11] Correct.
[4:12] And then I gave you this scrappy bit of paper with my nine properties.
[4:14] And what I – this – I tell this to people all the time.
[4:18] You took this scrap of paper.
[4:20] You looked at the properties.
[4:21] You said, right, well, this one's going to have problems with underpinning.
[4:25] This one's got a problem with flooding.
[4:27] And this one's going to have no – and I'm sitting there going, there's no freaking computer in front of me.
[4:33] I knew all the areas.
[4:34] You knew.
[4:34] And I was right too because one of them you sold had underpinning issues.
[4:38] Correct.
[4:38] The other one had no capital gain.
[4:40] You had to sell it pretty much.
[4:41] I was actually bang on.
[4:42] You were bang on.
[4:43] In the moment on the piece of paper.
[4:44] Correct.
[4:45] That blew my mind.
[4:46] It still does to this day.
[4:48] It's one of those ones where you had no prompts, you had no computer.
[4:52] And it was at that moment that I went,
[4:55] Oh, and then you said, come into the office.
[4:58] That was, this is in the days when I could actually talk to you because now the business is so big.
[5:03] And I didn't even do clients back then, but I still say come into the office.
[5:06] Yeah, yeah, okay.
[5:07] All right, well, I was, I feel very blessed.
[5:10] And you said, we're going to sell all nine and start again.
[5:14] Eight, almost nine.
[5:16] You're right, eight.
[5:17] I was like, okay, I've got to keep one.
[5:19] Bec got involved in it.
[5:20] Oh, bless her.
[5:21] I will be forever eternally grateful.
[5:23] Thank you, Bec.
[5:26] And I had a moment, I'll never forget it.
[5:29] I had a moment where I went, that's not going to happen.
[5:32] The left-hand side of the brain went, that's not going to happen.
[5:35] The right-hand side of the brain went, don't waste his time.
[5:39] He's told you what to do.
[5:40] You either say yes or stop wasting his time.
[5:43] And then left went to right and said, let's go.
[5:45] And I remember saying to you, let's go.
[5:48] I'll just do whatever it takes.
[5:50] And I have to say...
[5:51] I actually get goosebumps because it's the best thing I've ever, ever, ever done, apart from having my child, who's now married.
[6:02] But you've changed my life.
[6:05] Well, you've done the work.
[6:06] So let's go back and delve into it a little bit.
[6:10] Out of the nine, we got rid of seven or eight, eight in total.
[6:13] Yep.
[6:14] We held one because you wanted a property in Sydney, which was your home anyway.
[6:17] So there's no CGT and it was your home in Sydney.
[6:19] And then you moved to the Gold Coast and where do I want to be and still live in Sydney, but rent here and have an office here, et cetera.
[6:26] Yeah.
[6:28] So we got rid of the eight.
[6:30] Boy, was I right about all of them.
[6:32] You were.
[6:33] Like literally.
[6:34] You were so right.
[6:35] So right.
[6:35] Like if anybody doubted ability actually, I'm listening to you now, I'm like, yeah, I remember rattling them off on the beach walk there.
[6:43] Everyone was doing 60 strong or 75.
[6:44] And I was like, da-da, da-da, da-da, da-da.
[6:46] And they were like, oh, and you're a little bit almost offended and are taken aback.
[6:49] And I was like.
[6:50] I was offended.
[6:51] I went, oh, sorry.
[6:51] You looked offended.
[6:52] I remember you were like.
[6:53] I said to you.
[6:54] Who are you to tell me?
[6:56] Because I handed it to you saying.
[6:58] There's a bit of front.
[7:00] There was a massive front.
[7:02] Look at me.
[7:02] Single lady, work my guts out.
[7:05] I've done well here.
[7:06] And you had.
[7:07] And you said, I can tell you the words, you said, can I swear?
[7:14] Oh, fuck, I can't unsee that.
[7:16] Quote, unquote.
[7:17] That's when I puffed up and went, I know, how good.
[7:20] And you went, no, it's a clusterfuck.
[7:24] Coming to my office and that total deflation went, oh, okay.
[7:29] Well, I couldn't unsee it.
[7:30] Like it would have, and it did keep me up at night.
[7:32] I'm like, you've done so well.
[7:34] You've worked your backside off.
[7:35] You've raised your beautiful son.
[7:37] Now married.
[7:37] Great business.
[7:39] It's like...
[7:41] I know where this will and won't go.
[7:43] Like, I can look at it and I go, that's going to cost X, that's going to cost Y.
[7:47] It was amazing.
[7:47] That's going to be sold at a loss no matter how long you hold.
[7:50] Like, you're just, these different areas you're in.
[7:52] I was like, due to some previous poor advice, not even your own fault, some previous very poor advice.
[7:58] Yeah.
[7:59] So I remember that moment, like, well, I can't unsee it, so I might as well deal with it, or it's going to keep me up at night.
[8:03] And then Bette got involved as well.
[8:04] She's like, what are you working on?
[8:05] Why are you seeing a client?
[8:06] You know?
[8:07] So anyway, eight of the nine gone, retained one, which was your home.
[8:16] Talk about that journey, because I'll get to where we are today, but talk about that journey of,
[8:23] letting go of the eight and real estate agents talking to you on the phone and sending emails and text messages.
[8:29] And I'm saying, stop, I can finish the sentence before they finish saying, they're going to say A, B, C, D, E. And you're like, just go back and they're going to say, and literally it was like a script.
[8:41] I could tell you what they were going to say before they said it.
[8:43] I could tell you how they were going to appraise it and do this.
[8:47] It was almost comical sometimes.
[8:49] Brisbane especially.
[8:51] You absolutely told me what this numbnut was going to say, word for word.
[8:56] When they were going to say it, why they were going to say it, what the feedback would be, how it would play out.
[9:03] Yeah.
[9:03] It was like a storybook.
[9:05] And I think that's the thing that I've taken from being part of this is the infinity way is...
[9:16] honesty is the best policy and you just tell it like it is and you don't bullshit anybody you go this is what's going to happen and there's a lot of people out there in this business that they just they're transactional whereas you you look much more long term and that's what I love about being part of this community it's as I said before it's changed my life I get goosebumps G because honestly I turned a certain age last week 21 I'm now I'm
[9:46] You're officially a pensioner.
[9:47] 22.
[9:47] Yeah.
[9:49] And a half.
[9:50] 22 and a half plus GST.
[9:52] It's got a six, it's got a five, and I can't tell you anything else.
[9:54] Okay.
[9:55] So it's ticked the 65.
[9:57] We have.
[9:57] Okay.
[9:58] Yeah.
[9:59] You don't look a day over 45, so you're doing great.
[10:01] Yes.
[10:01] You should keep doing whatever it is you're doing that's consistent.
[10:03] Lots of work.
[10:05] But I think that it was, for me, it was the honesty and it was the way you just turned around to me and said, if you do this, this is the outcome.
[10:14] Yeah.
[10:14] If you don't want to do this...
[10:17] It's your old saying.
[10:18] You do you, boo.
[10:19] Like you don't push anyone.
[10:21] You're like, if you want to take my advice.
[10:22] You didn't talk to us for a year.
[10:24] I drew it all out.
[10:24] Well, because my assumption was, to be fair to me, my assumption was they're going to reach out to me because I wasn't quite sure what to do, blah, blah, blah.
[10:32] And you don't.
[10:34] Like here's what you need to do.
[10:35] Do it or don't.
[10:37] Do or don't.
[10:38] And so clearly I didn't for a year.
[10:41] And I remember that, yeah, there's been a couple of things.
[10:43] But you know what?
[10:44] We are, I am now in a place where I am, I can now do what you do very soon... ...which is continue to give back to others.
[10:56] I love that.
[10:57] That's important.
[10:58] Yeah.
[10:58] So let's then – we went from nine down to one.
[11:03] We got back up over 20 at one point.
[11:06] I think at one point we were like 24.
[11:07] 23, 24, right, controlling a lot of assets and buying and selling and flipping and buying and selling.
[11:11] Yeah.
[11:12] We're now in the process and we're under that now and we're now liquidating again.
[11:17] Yeah.
[11:17] So the stuff that I helped you fund and acquire –
[11:21] in the past five years, we're now already selling a lot of that again.
[11:27] Why?
[11:29] Because we're going to get into the penthouse.
[11:33] And I think what we sold the eight.
[11:36] Actually, to go back and give context, your thing to me was you wanted to have a place in Sydney and a place on the Gold Coast.
[11:43] Correct.
[11:43] You wanted to be able to bounce between the two for family, friends, business, life, lifestyle, location.
[11:49] Yeah, I remember saying to you, can we re-engineer backwards?
[11:53] I want a place in Sydney, a place on the Gold Coast, the ability to get on a plane on the Gold Coast with a handbag and get down to Sydney.
[11:59] Car in each place, still run a business, but maybe not work as hard as I have been.
[12:04] And so re-engineer that backwards because one of the things I think people don't have a time.
[12:12] They have no idea.
[12:13] They'll turn around and say, oh, I want 50 properties.
[12:16] Yeah, they're playing a sport but there's no goals.
[12:18] They're just on the field.
[12:19] They don't know where to kick the ball.
[12:20] Correct.
[12:21] Whereas I was absolutely clear about that.
[12:23] And I think that makes it easier.
[12:24] Does that make it easier?
[12:25] Oh, so easy.
[12:26] Yeah.
[12:26] You said to me, I need outcome A and B and the timeline is C. Yep.
[12:32] So easy.
[12:33] I mean, whether it's realistic or not, herein lies the challenge.
[12:36] Yeah.
[12:37] But to me, so easy.
[12:39] It's math.
[12:39] Yeah, it's math.
[12:41] But then that leads us back to, okay, you need A and B and you need it to occur approximately by C with some buffers.
[12:47] Yeah.
[12:47] Cool.
[12:48] Away we go.
[12:49] Yeah.
[12:49] Which then takes us back to over the last five years we've built up over 20 at one point and now we're stripping back down.
[12:56] And we'll probably strip back down to two or three.
[12:59] But that purpose was you wanted the beautiful Gold Coast beach home.
[13:07] So what have we been able to achieve there?
[13:13] Do I tell you the journey of Lagoon?
[13:15] Because it was... Whatever you want to do.
[13:16] Oh, I mean, we're neighbours.
[13:18] I know.
[13:18] Yeah.
[13:20] Well, originally I assumed, never assumed because you make an arse out of you and me, I assumed that I'd be in a two-bed, three-bed apartment.
[13:30] Yep.
[13:31] And I remember you talking to me and...
[13:36] You're a bit of a cheeky bastard because you were sitting there.
[13:39] You knew exactly what it was.
[13:40] And you're like, Kes, would you like the penthouse at Lagoon?
[13:45] And I nearly...
[13:48] Not fainted, I can't, I won't say.
[13:50] I went, I was like, what?
[13:52] You went, oh, fuck.
[13:54] No, I think I said, what the?
[13:55] What?
[13:56] What are you talking about?
[13:58] And you said.
[13:59] It's millions and millions of years.
[14:00] And you are so cute because you sit there and you go, I've done the numbers.
[14:05] And I sat there and go, are you serious?
[14:07] Not possible.
[14:08] I'm – really?
[14:09] And I still pinch myself now.
[14:11] I'm just like – I'm so freaking excited.
[14:15] I can't tell you.
[14:16] So for people – I cannot tell you, G. Can I say it again?
[14:19] Yeah.
[14:19] This is so – oh, my God.
[14:22] And it's close.
[14:23] Yeah, very cool.
[14:24] It's really close.
[14:25] So for anyone tuning in that doesn't know Kez's story, she wanted A and B.
[14:29] She wanted it by C. I took A and B to a little bit of a – up a few levels, let's just say, and –
[14:37] We've bought penthouses, neighbouring penthouses together on top of a building in Main Beach on the Gold Coast.
[14:42] I'm so excited.
[14:43] We're, I don't know, 15 metres to the main street in the cafes and 30 metres, 40 metres to the sand.
[14:49] To the beach.
[14:50] Which is exactly where I want to be because I don't want to be on the beach because Main Beach was smashed during the cyclone.
[14:55] So this is the perfect place.
[14:57] So it's a great location because you've got your views of the broad water, the river, the ocean.
[15:02] You've got everything you need in the main street.
[15:04] Yep, beautiful.
[15:05] So that was the goal, the A and the B by C, which we've been able to achieve.
[15:12] And you sat with Karen recently.
[15:14] Oh, I love Karen.
[15:15] Oh, my God, she's amazing.
[15:17] Because obviously you had some concerns.
[15:18] You're like, all right, well, I've...
[15:19] bought all this stuff in the last five years and what do we do now and we're now obviously selling that down and some cool numbers in there some stuff you bought for fives and sixes that are now selling for nines and ones it's almost doubled there's some stuff you bought for seven selling for nine like a couple of quarter of a million here that there's some really cool numbers in there um which people should not just to be clear people should not expect
[15:42] those rates of return in those short amount of times.
[15:44] Correct.
[15:45] That's the truth.
[15:46] Yeah.
[15:46] Right?
[15:47] But you've been fortunate enough to be a recipient of those returns in that amount of time.
[15:52] So we're now liquidating down through that portfolio.
[15:54] But if I can interrupt you as well, I also did as I was told.
[15:58] True.
[15:59] True.
[16:00] And I think that's important because I think that a lot of people will come into this journey and then they'll be told what they need to do and then they won't do it.
[16:12] And I often say, because I'll come to events that you put on, and I'll say, just do as you're told.
[16:17] And I think that was, for me, and even now, it's so important.
[16:24] Because I'm not the expert.
[16:25] You want to come and talk about gold?
[16:27] I can talk all day and all night about that.
[16:30] But structure and understanding of property ain't no one like you guys.
[16:36] No one.
[16:36] So that's why, you know, you said, what do you want?
[16:41] I said, let's go hard.
[16:42] Yep.
[16:43] And you've made it happen.
[16:43] And I think that's the difference.
[16:46] So...
[16:47] We're now going to have Sydney.
[16:50] You start with Karen.
[16:51] You're going to have your main beach penthouse.
[16:52] And it's not the two, three.
[16:53] It's the penthouse.
[16:54] It's over two levels.
[16:55] You've got the rooftop pool, the barbecue area.
[16:58] It's absolutely stunning.
[16:59] You know, it's pretty special, to be honest.
[17:03] Mate, it's not just pretty special.
[17:07] I cannot tell you how grateful I am for this happening.
[17:09] It's also timing and from when you purchase it, timing, construction costs, values.
[17:16] Oh, yeah.
[17:16] The markets move so much as well.
[17:18] Yeah, yeah, yeah, true.
[17:19] So for you, there's a pretty decent win here and for me as well and all of our clients.
[17:23] Okay.
[17:24] So we've got a pretty decent win as far as our equity position as well once we settle.
[17:28] So, I mean, that's just a bonus, but that helps as well.
[17:31] But what do you think – actually, I'll go back a step.
[17:35] Is it worth the effort?
[17:37] Is it worth the time, the energy, the paperwork, the documents, the amount of times you've got to listen to Dr. Wilson, the amount of times you've got to listen to my verbal diary?
[17:47] Is it worth the effort?
[17:50] Is the juice worth the squeeze?
[17:52] I hate the word effort because actually you guys make it effortless.
[17:57] Now, there is some, especially at the beginning, you've got to get your paperwork together.
[18:01] You've got to – it depends on what you want and how badly you want it.
[18:06] I knew what I wanted and I knew what I needed to do and I'm as tight as a fish's bum.
[18:11] And when you say don't spend on this, that and the other, I don't.
[18:15] Because I knew what the end result that I wanted was.
[18:19] Is it worth the effort?
[18:20] Hell yeah.
[18:22] In June, I think we purchased it in 2022.
[18:26] Yep.
[18:27] We're now 2026 and I'm moving in hopefully in June.
[18:31] And I know that's going to come around so fast.
[18:34] But is it worth it?
[18:36] Hell yeah.
[18:36] Okay.
[18:39] By the way, even my son turned around and said he might come up for Christmas next year.
[18:45] Oh, it would be a pretty special Christmas.
[18:47] There you go.
[18:50] Would you, curiosity, with the nine properties you had and the other investments you had, you know, gold and silver and all this sort of stuff, shares, whatever it may be, because you were quite diversified, to be fair.
[19:02] Like, we focus on reducing debt, mortgages and real estate.
[19:06] That's our core business.
[19:07] You know, if you want to talk about superannuation, we refer you out to an external financial planner.
[19:12] You need legal, you go talk to an external solicitor accounting, blah, blah, blah.
[19:15] Yeah, but they're all people that you know and trust.
[19:17] Well, we've got ten of everything, right?
[19:18] Yeah, we've worked on my stuff.
[19:20] Cool, they can work on your stuff.
[19:21] Yeah.
[19:23] With the nine that you had, would you have been able to bridge the gap from where you were with the nine to the penthouse today?
[19:31] Not a chance.
[19:31] In five years?
[19:32] Not a chance.
[19:33] I can tell you that absolutely without a shadow of a doubt.
[19:36] Not a chance.
[19:37] Okay.
[19:38] Because I was brought up... My dad was...
[19:43] Court-martialed in the Navy, lost everything.
[19:45] Mum went back and started working as a waitress in a cocktail bar, no, in a restaurant.
[19:53] And they did it tough, but one of the ways that they got a fairly nice lifestyle was they were purchasing property.
[19:59] But what I saw them do, they worked really, really hard.
[20:02] They'd buy something, they'd do everything themselves, including moving furniture, they'd manage the office.
[20:09] But they also said to me, you buy and you never sell.
[20:13] Well, that's what I was asking because you obviously – and some of them, if you're still holding them today in the areas they were – probably wouldn't have done much.
[20:20] And 90 plus percent of Australia is moving at the moment, but some of these hadn't and they just weren't right.
[20:27] So you don't think you would have been able to bridge that gap?
[20:30] Not a chance.
[20:31] I can say that 100 percent, not even 95 percent, 100 percent.
[20:34] So the shwinterpuck, as we call it, thanks to Rosie, of liquidating the eight.
[20:40] Yes.
[20:41] We then obviously were able to reinvest that capital to then get you where you are today to bridge that gap in just five years.
[20:49] Now, I said to people, don't take an investment horizon in anything that's under 10 years.
[20:53] You know, you've got to think long term, right?
[20:55] Yeah.
[20:55] Five years is a bit of an ask, but it worked in this case.
[21:00] But you did do everything that you were told or asked to.
[21:02] You stuck to it.
[21:03] So well done to you.
[21:05] What do you think, or how hard was it to let go?
[21:09] Because I know there's a lot of people out there, for example, you see them at events, they've still got their old home.
[21:14] Yeah.
[21:14] They borrowed a million bucks in Sydney of debt to get a new home and they kept the old one and it only owes 200.
[21:20] I'm like...
[21:21] Sell that?
[21:22] Oh, do you know what I mean?
[21:23] Like sell it and dump the 800 off your home and go buy four in there.
[21:26] But gee, most of them don't.
[21:28] Most Australians don't understand structure.
[21:31] Most Australians don't understand how you get people to go from there.
[21:36] I see it all the time.
[21:38] And I see people that have got, what's the, they're,
[21:43] What's the word I'm looking for?
[21:44] Cross-securitised.
[21:45] Well, they've cross-securitised, but they don't believe that what you do works.
[21:50] How could that possibly work?
[21:52] That's the comments on all of the posts all the time.
[21:54] I'm not in socials these days as much, but it's not too good to be true.
[21:58] It's like, well, if you're commenting that, it is.
[22:00] Just go live your life, bud.
[22:01] But there's plenty of resources and information and knowledge.
[22:04] It's like a library.
[22:05] All the knowledge in the world is in a library.
[22:07] In your library.
[22:08] Well, in general in a library, right?
[22:11] In all the books.
[22:11] Well, yeah.
[22:12] But likewise these days it's on the internet, right?
[22:14] But some of it is true, some of it is not true.
[22:18] Exactly.
[22:19] A lot of it is true, but what will work for Kerry won't work for Terry.
[22:24] Terry.
[22:24] Yeah.
[22:25] Like there's this level of understanding.
[22:29] There's not just execution.
[22:30] Oh, here's a strategy.
[22:32] Strategy for Kerry may not work for Terry.
[22:34] Absolutely.
[22:34] Or Barry or Perry or what like – and that's that knowledge of – that execution of someone who's actually walked the walk.
[22:41] And I think that's really important for people that –
[22:43] We can't help the whole bloody planet.
[22:45] We can only help a certain amount of people each month or each year.
[22:47] And I think it's really important people understand the person they're going to trust with their family's livelihood needs to walk the walk.
[22:57] And they need to walk the walk and have...
[22:59] I suggest 10 plus years of proof.
[23:04] Why 10?
[23:05] Because anyone who's done under 10, anyone who started a business in 2020 through the COVID era and saying how great and successful they are, they haven't been through a downturn yet.
[23:15] And the old saying, when the tide goes out, you'll see who's swimming naked.
[23:18] So I'd suggest make sure that they look for someone who's 10 plus years in business, has been through a good time and a bad time, and are still thriving, not just surviving with their clientele.
[23:31] I think that's really important, right?
[23:33] And they have clients that are still dealing with them 10 or plus years.
[23:37] Yeah, true.
[23:37] That's really important because there's obviously value there for them.
[23:41] So I want to jump to a minute.
[23:44] for a second here, how valuable has it been for you to interact in the community on this journey?
[23:50] Because it's one thing to go, ah, yeah, see these people on social media.
[23:54] It's us or any company, see this thing on social media.
[23:56] How valuable or helpful has it been to be able to interact with people that have been around for 10, 15 years or 13 years or
[24:03] Five months.
[24:03] Has that helped along the way?
[24:05] Within this community?
[24:06] Yeah, yeah.
[24:07] Oh, 100%.
[24:08] Yeah.
[24:08] Do you know, gee, I think I remember you saying once you have a no dickheads policy.
[24:14] Yeah.
[24:16] And that shows.
[24:17] Yeah.
[24:18] Because I have met, connected with some incredible people.
[24:24] Mm-hmm.
[24:26] This company is so big now I'm clearly not connecting with anyone, all of them.
[24:30] But the ones that I do connect with and the ones that I've been on amazing experiences with, they're such good people.
[24:38] Beautiful human beings.
[24:38] From all walks of life.
[24:41] But the common denominator is they, including me, we want to help others on their journey because you have helped us.
[24:52] So we believe, like you do, for us it's how can we give back.
[24:58] That's why I'm here talking to you today.
[25:01] I'm still pretty freaking busy at the moment.
[25:03] But I will absolutely, you asked me to give my time, 100% always say yes.
[25:09] I love that you're prepared.
[25:11] Everyone's so prepared to give back and help each other.
[25:14] It means a lot.
[25:15] So I really appreciate it.
[25:18] Kerry, you were fortunate enough, we were fortunate enough actually, to steal you and bundle you up and take you off to America, to the United States recently with a big group of clients and help pre-launch of what we do there with mortgage reduction.
[25:34] how was that experience talk to that for a little bit for all of the uh americans listening in and tuning in and going oh yeah this crazy bloody aussie you know like well we do talk funny we do talk oh you ever watch an australian movie every now and then and you go oh do we sound like that yeah we do sound like that but or do they talk funny
[25:52] I think we talk funny.
[25:53] No, I think they talk funny.
[25:54] Anyway.
[25:55] They're rough.
[25:56] I felt very honoured to go across to speak to them.
[26:04] And I think that, again, your vision...
[26:09] is to take that market and turn it on its head and to let people know that they don't have to be, it's almost like a victim of their current system, that the system that you're going to show them, if they trust it and they should, is going to completely blow them out of the water, my opinion.
[26:33] It's what you've done here.
[26:35] It's no different over there except they've got longer mortgages.
[26:37] Well, they actually have the product there.
[26:40] Yeah.
[26:41] We have to create versions of products here and ask for special white label lending and manipulate it to get the features.
[26:48] They have it there.
[26:49] Oh, okay.
[26:50] They have a first lien here lock.
[26:52] Now, the rate's higher, so they scare them off because of the rate.
[26:56] Just like Australia, when I say, does rate matter over 30, 40 years?
[26:59] Well, it does over 30 or 40 or 50, but does rate matter over five or seven?
[27:04] No.
[27:04] Not if you're saving hundreds of thousands of dollars of interest being calculated every day and charged every month.
[27:11] So it's interesting over there, because you watch the beginning of those presentations and they're a bit like, by the end of it, I get the hair standing up and people, this is great, and they're all flocking to you guys.
[27:21] They were really standoff.
[27:23] Like when you first started speaking, they were pretty standoff.
[27:26] I remember it.
[27:27] And I'm sitting there thinking, well, you know, it's like when you look out at an audience and they're all sitting there, no one's smiling.
[27:33] Yeah.
[27:33] And half of them have got their arms crossed like this.
[27:35] And you're thinking, oh, this is not going well.
[27:39] Are you, I don't know.
[27:42] And then I'm like, oh, fuck.
[27:44] I think you swore.
[27:44] I said, oh, fuck.
[27:45] Fuck.
[27:46] Oh, fuck.
[27:46] Sorry I said, oh, shit.
[27:47] Oh, fuck.
[27:49] Then they all started laughing.
[27:52] It almost broke the ice and by the end of it we were getting lots of questions and they're asking stuff and it was amazing.
[27:59] And I think there was that moment where they clicked.
[28:03] That clarity.
[28:04] Yeah.
[28:04] Yeah.
[28:05] Yeah.
[28:06] We're going to have to get you back with that group to come and share again when we do a couple of events so people can poke and prod.
[28:15] Not too physically unless it's a very wealthy, astute businessman.
[28:19] Very wealthy billionaire.
[28:20] Yeah, I'll have to sign off on that.
[28:22] But we'll have to get you back over for all of the American Launch stuff because I think it will be really valuable for anyone listening to this that relates to your journey and goes, oh, I'm kind of very similar to Kerry.
[28:33] Why can't I get these results?
[28:35] So I think that will help a lot over the next year or so.
[28:37] So we'll steal.
[28:38] I know you're busy, but we'll try to steal you a couple of times again.
[28:41] Fine, gee.
[28:41] That's okay.
[28:42] If I can help, I will always help.
[28:45] What would you say, whether it's American, whether it's Australian, whether we get people in the UK, New Zealand, what would you say to people is the hardest thing about getting out of your own – you know, you could be a really astute businesswoman, right?
[29:00] What would you say the hardest thing about removing your own ego about, I'm great at my business in gold, but you know what?
[29:07] Somebody could probably be better with my money while I go make more money.
[29:11] As an example, what would you say some of the hardest things about getting out of your own way for people that are listening?
[29:16] Because we all think we know boats.
[29:18] I know boats.
[29:19] I can manage my money.
[29:20] Let the baker bake.
[29:22] Let the baker bake.
[29:24] So don't bring the dough, the recipe, the pizza oven.
[29:28] Don't bring what you... Just make the order.
[29:30] Yeah.
[29:30] Yeah.
[29:32] I know.
[29:33] Could I cut my own hair?
[29:34] No.
[29:35] Could I do what you've done in property?
[29:38] No.
[29:39] Do I understand what I do for my YouTube channel?
[29:42] Do I understand how to connect the resources industry?
[29:46] Do I understand the resources?
[29:47] Absolutely.
[29:48] You want to talk to me about geology and various things like that and gold and silver?
[29:54] Yes.
[29:54] That's your jam.
[29:55] But I am not.
[29:57] And this is where I think people, if you're really smart, you get the brightest team around you.
[30:02] So when it came to property, and also, by the way, it's not just property.
[30:08] For me, I see now, for me with infinity, it's mindset, it's property, it's understanding wealth slash money.
[30:19] And I think one of the big things that you give to people is having them be consciously aware of buying the crap they don't need to impress people that don't care about them.
[30:34] I love that.
[30:36] Well, I really want to thank you for that because we're going to steal you again and get you back to America so that people can benefit from your experience.
[30:43] We're definitely going to do that.
[30:44] I just want to say a big thank you for coming and doing that in America.
[30:47] So thank you.
[30:48] Always welcome.
[30:50] Jumping back to Australia for a second.
[30:54] What is it with tall poppy syndrome, Ash?
[30:56] Oh, don't get me.
[30:57] Do you really want to get me?
[30:58] Yeah.
[30:59] How long have you got?
[31:02] Oh, my God.
[31:03] You know what?
[31:03] Where's the camera?
[31:05] What is it with you people?
[31:07] Seriously.
[31:09] Why can't we be absolutely turning around to people and saying, I love your success.
[31:17] One day if I work really hard, I'll be as successful as you.
[31:20] You just got me on my soapbox, G. I know.
[31:23] Well, you know what I've never seen?
[31:25] All these people are constantly trying to leverage off me or have a crack.
[31:29] I've never had somebody in a superior position to me have a crack at me.
[31:35] Never.
[31:35] Or use my content.
[31:37] And I wonder, and I was like, these people that are constantly like, I seen one the other day, someone sent me, the guy's got eight likes, made a video on my video about me to try to drum up business.
[31:47] He's better than me.
[31:48] He's got eight likes on it.
[31:49] I mean, I don't know, maybe I'm like winning Monopoly on fucking having 8,000 or 3 million plays.
[31:55] But it's like, if we could all, you're right, because if we could put the effort into...
[32:02] building a community, giving back to a community, to your own community of helping your clients transform their lives, not transact with them, of giving to charity like we did at the Christmas.
[32:14] I don't know what it is.
[32:15] Why is everyone so fucking jealous of the people that they think they should be?
[32:23] Because they're lazy.
[32:25] We'll just run our own.
[32:26] Well, some of them go to great efforts in society.
[32:28] I mean, you look at the political scene, you look at whether it's religion, all this stuff, right?
[32:33] Everybody is just wanting to just fucking fight with each other.
[32:38] I don't bother now.
[32:38] I just fucking ignore and block whatever.
[32:40] It's the only thing you can do.
[32:41] It's like the world's gone mad.
[32:43] But Australia, right at the precipice, like, we're going to be ranked the worst for this shit.
[32:49] Well, when you get to my age, you'll go, it's still going on.
[32:53] Because I remember when I was quite young, same thing was happening.
[32:57] My mum would say, what is wrong with people?
[32:59] Why can't they be happy?
[33:01] There was one guy when I was a little girl and he was doing some gardening for my mum.
[33:06] And they've been through their hard times.
[33:07] They worked their yin-yangs off and they were quite successful in the end.
[33:11] And this gardener came up and he said, wow, he looked at mum's house, he said, one day if I work really hard, I'd love a house like that.
[33:18] Do you know what my mum did?
[33:20] She rang every single one of her friends and she said, I want you to employ this gardener.
[33:25] And she helped him build his business because he had the attitude of, if I work hard, I too could be successful one day.
[33:34] I do that every day.
[33:35] I mean, look at Nick and Casey.
[33:37] I went and found two experts in a field for our clients for health.
[33:40] Yeah.
[33:40] And look at their businesses.
[33:42] Yeah.
[33:42] I know.
[33:43] Because Beck and I give away more money in prizes than is ever generated by these things.
[33:47] It's stupid.
[33:48] But it's great for the community.
[33:50] Yeah.
[33:50] But it's great for their businesses.
[33:51] Oh, yeah.
[33:52] It's amazing.
[33:52] And then you look at all the…
[33:54] auxiliary businesses off the back of that.
[33:55] We have food supply, health food suppliers and energy.
[33:58] This is a whole community that's growing.
[34:00] It's an ecosystem.
[34:00] Yeah, it's an ecosystem.
[34:01] It's an ecosystem.
[34:02] It's not Graham.
[34:03] It's its own brand now.
[34:04] I'm sort of, you know, kids soon, I'm done, I'm out.
[34:07] Good luck, everyone, right?
[34:08] Good.
[34:08] You've got the Rachels of the world and you've got all these other...
[34:11] I love Rachel.
[34:11] She's amazing.
[34:11] A couple of hundred team members here that are brilliant now and now globally.
[34:15] So but I just I really struggle.
[34:18] I really, really struggle with it across everything nationally that everyone's just we just lost the plot.
[34:23] Like just go do your thing.
[34:24] You know what, Che?
[34:25] You do you, boo.
[34:26] No, no, no.
[34:27] If you keep doing what you're doing and I learn how what you've done and it becomes a movement that and we can we can snuff out the tall poppy syndrome.
[34:37] We can do it.
[34:39] I mean, heavens, your business is growing so fast.
[34:42] Mine's just a tiddly little thing.
[34:43] But, you know, it's growing fast.
[34:45] We're going to snuff out the people.
[34:47] Yeah, maybe.
[34:48] Maybe we can affect some real change.
[34:50] I hope so.
[34:50] A bit of legacy.
[34:51] No, I know so.
[34:52] I know you will.
[34:53] Yeah, I think so.
[34:54] I think so.
[34:56] What's a couple of separate of infinity?
[34:58] Because, yes, everyone come to us.
[34:59] But forget infinity for a second.
[35:01] What could you tell people, a couple of wins along the way before we wrap up, what could you share with them about their financial position or wins or losses?
[35:10] What's some hard things they need to work on?
[35:12] What's some quick wins for them?
[35:14] Okay.
[35:15] Hard things to work on are be very conscious, as I said before.
[35:19] Be careful where you spend your hard-earned dollars because most people spend unconsciously because it's very easy to tap, tap, tap away.
[35:28] I often say, and I still do this, take out cash on a Sunday.
[35:33] That's your budget for the week.
[35:35] And if you spend it all by Wednesday, the hard decision will be we're going to have a very quiet Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday.
[35:41] So I guess be disciplined.
[35:44] If you want, I think we live in a world now, G, where it's immediate gratification.
[35:51] I was prepared to do the hard yards to get to my end goal and have the end goal in mind.
[35:58] And you did for the last five years.
[36:01] In terms of quick wins, it's kind of quick, but you've got to be conscious of it.
[36:07] Mindset.
[36:08] If you think you can, you can.
[36:09] If you think you can't, you can't.
[36:11] Both of you are right.
[36:12] But you know what?
[36:14] I hear too many people that have this negative mindset.
[36:18] I can't afford.
[36:20] I'm always sick.
[36:21] Nothing good happens to me.
[36:23] It's okay for him.
[36:24] He's lucky.
[36:25] Why don't you turn all that around and say, I'm so lucky, I'm so blessed, thank you.
[36:30] I mean, I have parking angels, I get a parking spot every day, exactly where I want.
[36:34] Love a good parking angel.
[36:35] Love a good parking angel.
[36:36] Although I should probably get rid of the parking angel and walk a couple of blocks, but anyway, love a good parking angel.
[36:42] But you know, that's it, that's it really, G, it's just the mindset and if you think you can, you can.
[36:46] Yeah.
[36:47] Well, I want to thank you for sharing in both in Australia and in America.
[36:52] We're definitely going to get you back because we want to maybe, we might do a little video if we could maybe, if you're happy to share a little bit of getting the keys to the main beach penthouse.
[37:03] And what do you reckon?
[37:03] We do a little party.
[37:05] I'll bring the wine.
[37:05] Yeah.
[37:06] But I think it would be great for people to see that journey and to see that joy, maybe tears, I don't know.
[37:12] Oh, I think there's – I can almost guarantee there'll be tears.
[37:15] Yeah.
[37:16] I cannot tell you.
[37:17] It's getting so close.
[37:19] I'm talking to you January slash February, right?
[37:24] June's going to come here like tomorrow.
[37:26] Yeah.
[37:26] I mean, practical completion is March.
[37:28] Ugh.
[37:30] So, yeah.
[37:31] You got your furniture ready to rock?
[37:32] No.
[37:33] Oh, okay.
[37:33] You better start.
[37:34] I need some – I better talk to Meg.
[37:36] No, I can't talk to Meg.
[37:36] She's too busy.
[37:37] No, she's – no.
[37:40] So, I think we might have to, if it's okay with you, maybe follow a little bit of the journey and share it because I think it's really special – It's very special.
[37:46] – to see somebody get their forever home and to also have been able to follow the journey for the last five years of how you got there.
[37:54] Yeah.
[37:54] What did it involve?
[37:55] And I think maybe, too, at the end, we might pull apart the entire journey, if that's okay, and go, hey, we bought this, we sold that, we did this, we paid this.
[38:03] I think that would be really cool later on this year that we actually share that, you know, as much as we can of that journey.
[38:10] How do we get there?
[38:11] Yeah, I think it'd be.
[38:12] What do we have to do to get there?
[38:13] Because I think that would be good for me.
[38:15] Yeah, to look back on.
[38:16] To look back on it as well.
[38:17] Yeah, I think it'd be really cool.
[38:18] Yeah, it'd be amazing.
[38:19] Well, stunning as always, insightful as always.
[38:23] It's been a pleasure.
[38:24] And I really look forward to this next session when we get the keys to the new power.
[38:28] Oh, so exciting.
[38:29] Thanks, G. Thanks for sharing, Cass.
[38:30] I love you.
[38:30] I appreciate you.
[38:31] Likewise.
[38:32] Thank you.
[38:32] You're fucking gone.
[38:34] See ya.
