In this episode of The Money Mentor Podcast, Emily sits down with Florian & Ryan to unpack their journey from financial confusion and scattered investments to complete clarity, structure, and rapid growth with Infinity. Before joining Infinity, they were juggling a $240k home loan, three investment properties jointly owned with family, a $10k credit card debt, and a combined super balance of $433k, all with no structured budget and no clear roadmap for the future. Their financial picture was complicated, messy, and overwhelming, leaving them unsure of how to take control. Everything changed the moment they joined Infinity in March 2024. With guidance from their Relationship Manager, Emily, they implemented a strategy that simplified every part of their financial life. They paid off their entire home loan, sold one underperforming investment and began the sale process on another, and then went on to purchase five new investment properties in just 15 months, including two through their SMSF and three using equity. They also established their SMSF investment structure, placing $100k into a 12% return fund, and refined their weekly FFF to a sustainable $600. Their story is full of insight and encouragement for anyone feeling stuck or intimidated by the idea of taking control of their finances. They finish with genuine, heartfelt advice for anyone considering joining Infinity: trust the process, stay consistent, and be open to change because the results can be life changing. 👉 Watch the free webinar to start your own journey: https://bit.ly/43V2jKN

## Transcript

[0:00] It's something we really don't take for granted having you as an RN because ever since you joined the team with us,
[0:08] we achieved our goals, you kept us on track.
[0:10] Okay, I'm not buying my watch anytime soon.
[0:12] Wait, tell them what's the watch.
[0:17] But it makes it a lot easier.
[0:20] We're so comfortable with you to talk about what's on our mind and you hold us accountable as well.
[0:28] That's what the Infinity Journey is all about, right?
[0:31] Money is the root of all evil, the fucking lack of it is.
[0:33] Not money, the lack of understanding money.
[0:36] When I put that into emphasis, when I realized our psychological effect and how it hit our family, I have to be in the fucking way.
[0:42] You are now watching the Money Man Talk podcast with Graham Holm.
[0:46] Graham Holm.
[0:47] Graham Holm.
[0:47] Graham Holm.
[0:51] You're fucking going to see ya.
[0:53] So tell me what was life like before infinity?
[0:57] We basically did not have any budget whatsoever, nothing to stick to.
[1:02] Basically, if you want that, you buy it.
[1:05] Tap, tap, tap.
[1:07] Taparoo.
[1:08] Yeah, there's no structure.
[1:14] We had separate accounts.
[1:16] Like you want to talk about the wifey fund?
[1:19] Well, yeah.
[1:20] What?
[1:20] A wifey fund?
[1:23] I'm sorry.
[1:23] What is this?
[1:24] And why does my partner have one?
[1:26] Pre-infinity, like I always believe we should have separate accounts.
[1:31] And I sort of divided my salary up in terms of the mortgage,
[1:35] my FFF at that point, even though I didn't know FFF was a thing.
[1:39] Right.
[1:40] And I had this thing called the Wifi fund.
[1:41] So it was more so like her allowance coming from me.
[1:46] And my idea behind that was, you know, if I ever bought her a gift that came from my money as opposed to her money or our money at that point.
[1:55] Also, it was that little bit of freedom I thought I had left as a married person that I've got my own bank account, I could do whatever I want.
[2:01] yeah so I called it the wifey fund and well she was sort of similar to you but when I was short one week she'd tell me hey wifey funds a bit low this week what's sort of going on with it but um yeah but yeah life before infinity um yeah lacked a lot of structure um it was you know the whole you know points for the credit card not so much for a kettle or a tourista but you know booking a hotel room or when we're going overseas but um
[2:26] We thought we were doing okay considering we were investing in property and also I thought I was a really good investor because I started investing in Bitcoin, no clue whatsoever.
[2:37] But yeah, it lacked a lot of structure where we thought we were doing okay, but clearly we weren't.
[2:43] Right.
[2:44] Okay.
[2:45] And since joining Infinity, what is the one thing that has changed the most in your life, do you think?
[2:54] We talk about money, we plan what we're going to use the money for, like the budget, the FFF, food, fuel, fine.
[3:08] We still eat out, we still do things that we used to do, but not as frequent.
[3:16] Like not every time that the kids would say, oh, I want McDonald's, that we'd go.
[3:21] Like we'd say like, oh, maybe next week or...
[3:24] like me okay maybe this time but definitely not next time it's just like um reduced a lot of like extra things that we can easily like i guess do at home um and yeah i think also like a big thing was like having you
[3:42] Because it's almost like a conscience sort of thing.
[3:47] What would Emily think?
[3:51] Even with the fine that he had when I scheduled it for payment, Emily would see this.
[4:00] So it just makes us more mindful.
[4:03] as well.
[4:04] Like, it's not that like we're limited, but it's just like, just to avoid the wastage.
[4:13] I think we're a lot more disciplined now and more structured in how we sort of allocate finances.
[4:19] Don't get us wrong.
[4:20] I think now more than ever, our kids are doing more extracurricular activities.
[4:25] Yeah, we're still going on holidays and stuff like that.
[4:27] but we're sort of getting more value out of the dollars that we have allotted for it.
[4:34] pre-Infinity was just sort of, yeah, just tap away.
[4:37] Now it's okay.
[4:38] Let's, we've got goals, we've got to hit them.
[4:39] But at the same time, we also still want to live and don't want to sort of change too much.
[4:44] Okay.
[4:45] I like that.
[4:46] And so obviously I'm your relationship manager.
[4:48] Everyone gets assigned a relationship manager.
[4:51] What would you say to someone who was new joining Infinity before they have met their relationship manager?
[4:56] What would you tell them to expect?
[5:00] With like being assigned a relationship manager.
[5:03] I think one of the things would be like once you get assigned one, make sure you reach out.
[5:09] Like don't wait for them to reach out to you.
[5:13] Rather like
[5:14] you reach out to them.
[5:16] Like, I guess, like, maximize you being there.
[5:21] Like, bounce off ideas.
[5:23] Like, even just, like, talk things through.
[5:28] I feel like I basically found my long-lost best friend, like, when you came along.
[5:35] Just because, like, yeah, it's amazing.
[5:38] It's essentially like a partnership, right?
[5:40] Like you help us to reach our goals, to like to reach our target.
[5:49] And you also like give us a lot of tips.
[5:51] Like it's so helpful sometimes that you don't think of.
[5:55] it's actually like you know tidbits of information here and there that you haven't thought of that you can like implement or not implement but then like just try to implement um some things like even the fff challenge recently right like um we initially had 700 um budget and then we managed to just like stick to 600 um and that's
[6:18] a hundred to go to the mortgage as well.
[6:22] So like every dollar helps.
[6:25] Yeah.
[6:25] I think being proactive is really important.
[6:28] Yeah.
[6:28] At the end of the day, we're investing in infinity to be guided by you guys.
[6:35] And it's not gonna happen overnight.
[6:38] Like you need to work towards it.
[6:40] And communicating with an RM is really important because it's like having a coach on a team.
[6:45] It's like going to a doctor to get the advice.
[6:48] And then when you're fortunate enough to build a genuine relationship with the RM, you get a lot of value out of it outside of infinity, like even just today.
[6:58] I was thinking when we arrived, by chance, you were at the front.
[7:01] Yeah.
[7:01] And you took us up.
[7:03] You sat with us.
[7:04] You took your laptop.
[7:05] You sat down with us, interacted with us whilst you were doing your work.
[7:09] You can't fake that.
[7:11] And it's something we really don't take for granted, having you as an RN, because ever since you joined the team with us,
[7:20] We achieved our goals.
[7:21] You kept us on track.
[7:22] Okay, I'm not buying my watch anytime soon.
[7:25] Wait, tell them what's the watch.
[7:29] But it makes it a lot easier.
[7:32] We're so comfortable with you to talk about what's on our mind and at the end of the day you hold us accountable as well.
[7:40] And that's what the Infinity Journey is all about, right?
[7:42] Giving back and also getting help from other people.
[7:46] Stop it.
[7:46] You're making me emotional.
[7:49] The tears back in.
[7:51] OK, well, I guess to finish this off, thank you for your time and such kind words as well.
[7:58] What would be one thing that you would tell someone who was on the fence about joining Infinity?
[8:04] You want to take this one?
[8:06] To me, it's a calculated risk, right?
[8:08] There's a lot of free content that Infinity provide through all the social media.
[8:13] So if you're really serious about getting financially literate or changing the way you do things,
[8:20] just listen or do a couple of podcasts do the free webinar and see if you can put that into practice um we can certainly vouch that it does work because what was our 10-year goal was achieved in 15 months but also you just got to be prepared to do the work as well it's you know it's not one of those things that you invest in and it sort of happens uh like i said it is a proactive two-way communication street that um both parties need to work together
[8:46] That's the biggest thing, right?
[8:47] Actually, following the strategy.
[8:49] Yeah.
[8:49] Yeah.
[8:50] Yeah.
[8:50] Yeah.
[8:50] Because it's like if you don't follow a budget, you don't have a budget.
[8:54] So if you don't follow the strategy, then it's not really a strategy that would work for you.
[9:00] So exactly.
[9:01] I like to say it's like a gym and then not going to the gym and saying, why haven't I lost any weight?
[9:05] Why haven't I gotten healthier?
[9:07] I'm like, well, you haven't gone to the gym.
[9:08] Yeah.
[9:09] Yeah, absolutely.
[9:10] So I'm super proud of you both for everything that you're doing, because you really have
[9:13] since obviously I've been working with you, I've seen everything just come true and it's been amazing.
[9:18] So thank you.
[9:19] Thank you as well.
[9:20] You're fucking gone.
[9:22] See ya.
