[0:00] Just cut out all the bullshit because we were that a few years ago and now we're up on stage and it's true.
[0:08] Like, what infinity can do for you, it's not bullshit.
[0:11] And, like, we are real people and we've gone on the journey as well.
[0:17] Yeah, and I think during...
[0:18] I think going around, I think listening to other people's stories was really inspiring, but sometimes it can also make you feel like you're not at their stage and you go, oh, hang on a second, we've only got one or we've only got two properties.
[0:27] But sometimes we're all on our own journey and it can change quite quickly.
[0:31] Money is the root of all evil.
[0:33] The fucking lack of it is.
[0:34] Not money, the lack of understanding money.
[0:37] When I put that into emphasis, when I realized that psychological effect and how it hit our family, I FDB in the fucking way.
[0:43] Yeah.
[0:52] Hi, my name's Corey Hancock.
[0:55] I'm a relationship manager here at Infinity.
[0:58] I'm joined with my clients, Jessica and Paul, who have been in clients with Infinity for quite some time.
[1:04] Welcome guys.
[1:05] Thank you, Corey.
[1:07] Let's jump straight into it.
[1:08] You guys are both business owners.
[1:11] What do you guys do?
[1:13] I'm a hairdresser.
[1:14] Plumber, yeah.
[1:15] How have you found integrating business in the infinity way of life?
[1:21] Yeah, I reckon it's been easier for us to invest.
[1:25] I think it's been a lot easier.
[1:27] It's seamless, isn't it?
[1:28] Yeah, where beforehand investing with getting properties, it was really hard through the banks when you were self-employed.
[1:36] and had a hard process.
[1:37] The time it takes to do it all too.
[1:39] Yep.
[1:40] So you both, were you, beforehand were you self-employed?
[1:43] Yeah.
[1:44] And then we've obviously gone to accountants and everything and gone into that kind of company structure.
[1:50] Yeah.
[1:51] Was that hard?
[1:52] Like infinity jumping like into the third parties from infinity?
[1:56] Nah, it's been, again, like BMR tax.
[1:59] Yeah.
[2:00] Mark's been awesome.
[2:01] Mark's pretty good.
[2:02] Mark's been good.
[2:03] Yeah.
[2:04] And good at what he does.
[2:05] Yeah.
[2:06] Yeah, he's helped a lot.
[2:07] Yeah, and all the other third-party guys like CJM and that, they're all good to deal with.
[2:12] Yeah.
[2:12] And I think it's helped that, like, Mark works closely with Infinity because that helps sometimes when you need...
[2:17] them just to send the stuff across especially the businesses and we have a lot of you know different stuff to send across it does help knowing that yeah 100 them to communicate you guys would have a lot of documents that you need to send in and uh probably sending now yes we are actually um mark mark and yeah yeah that's already they're already doing that themselves yep that's good perfect works out well um so ram number two
[2:41] No, this is like REM number nine.
[2:43] REM number nine?
[2:44] Nine.
[2:44] Okay.
[2:45] Nine or something or eight or eight.
[2:46] Yeah, we've been here a while.
[2:47] Yeah.
[2:48] Okay, perfect.
[2:49] What was the first REM like?
[2:51] Small.
[2:52] Yeah, it was a lot smaller, wasn't it?
[2:53] It was... A lot more.
[2:56] It was a lot smaller and I think it was very nerve-wracking.
[3:00] It was, yeah.
[3:01] Like the first time we came, I remember...
[3:05] walking in the room the first night and everyone was sort of waiting outside the doors and standing around awkwardly.
[3:10] And we went in there and we were like really nervous and no one was talking.
[3:14] Yeah.
[3:14] We thought we were in a cult.
[3:16] We were worried.
[3:17] We were worried about what we were doing.
[3:18] That was a good weekend, yeah.
[3:19] But it was a great weekend.
[3:20] And straight away we felt at ease.
[3:21] And then we sat down.
[3:22] We actually sat on a table with Megan and Jeremy
[3:26] Which was lovely.
[3:26] How many people would you say were there at that one?
[3:29] 80?
[3:29] 200?
[3:31] Probably more than that.
[3:32] I reckon 150 maybe.
[3:35] Yeah.
[3:35] So definitely a smaller one.
[3:37] Yeah, a lot smaller.
[3:38] And then now going to the one tomorrow, well today it started, but 650 people roughly.
[3:44] Yeah.
[3:45] What would you say to people that are going to REM for the first time, obviously much larger REMs, what kind of advice would you give them?
[3:55] I would say it's nerve-wracking on your first time, but from us being there not even too long ago to us now doing testimonials pretty much every room we come to, there was a time...
[4:11] not even long ago that we were in the crowd listening to people doing testimonials and and it's easy to be a skeptic and it's easy to be down there and saying oh yeah but they have this or they earn this and blah blah blah but just cut out all the bullshit because we we were that a few years ago and now we're up on stage and it's true like what infinity can do for you it's not bullshit
[4:35] We are real people and we've gone on the journey as well.
[4:41] Yeah, and I think going around, I think listening to other people's stories was really inspiring, but sometimes it can also make you feel like you're not at their stage and you go, oh, hang on a second, we've only got one or we've only got two properties.
[4:51] But sometimes we're all on our own journey and it can change quite quickly.
[4:55] I think if you listen to everyone's stories and take in their advice and –
[4:59] also listen to G and his advice, you can turn it around quite quickly.
[5:04] And yeah, I think it's just listen and don't compare yourself.
[5:08] Everyone's on their own journey.
[5:09] Yeah, it's achievable.
[5:11] When we got there the first time, there were people there that had already got 10 houses and...
[5:17] we didn't know how much they earned, but automatically to us, it was like, well, do they earn a million dollars a year?
[5:22] Cause that's why they don't have 10 hours.
[5:24] But it's not like that.
[5:25] No.
[5:25] So they've, they've done the process.
[5:27] Yeah.
[5:27] They've worked hard at it.
[5:29] Yeah.
[5:29] They've been doing it for some time.
[5:30] Yeah.
[5:31] It takes time.
[5:32] We're there.
[5:33] Yeah.
[5:33] And we don't earn a million dollars a year.
[5:35] We just do, do what infinity tells us to do.
[5:39] And just work hard.
[5:40] Work hard.
[5:40] Yeah.
[5:41] Yeah.
[5:41] And that's probably the biggest thing.
[5:42] People, people don't understand that you have to start from somewhere.
[5:46] Yeah.
[5:46] Yeah.
[5:47] And no, there's no judgment whatsoever with infinity.
[5:50] No, no.
[5:51] And you guys being testimonials, you're quite literally there to help them.
[5:57] Yeah.
[5:57] To give them that advice where you guys started.
[5:59] Yeah.
[6:00] Yeah.
[6:01] How, let's jump into family.
[6:03] um how do the kids how do you integrate the kids into the kind of infinity way of budgeting and that kind of thing because a lot of people find that the hardest yeah um our kids have always i think we've always stuck to a budget with our kids even pre infinity we haven't gone crazy birthday presents we don't buy them everything they want we've always told them that
[6:23] you know, would rather give them experiences like overseas trips and stuff.
[6:27] So I think they've always known that.
[6:28] And we do say to them that, like, they know we're buying property.
[6:31] And we say to them that, I think you've got to look at the bigger picture, and we're doing this for them as well.
[6:36] So instead of wanting toys, we try to explain to them that, you know, wouldn't you rather a holiday or wouldn't you rather...
[6:43] You know, it's a long-term thing that we try to explain to them that you're going to eventually.
[6:47] It's not always getting that one toy that they never play with.
[6:50] Yeah.
[6:51] No, perfect.
[6:51] Yeah.
[6:52] You guys mentioned, you just mentioned that you kind of budgeted beforehand.
[6:56] Yeah.
[6:56] How did you budget?
[6:57] What did you do specifically?
[6:59] Is it very different from what we're doing now?
[7:02] Um, no, cause we weren't, we just aren't big spenders.
[7:04] I think we don't waste money, do we?
[7:06] We don't.
[7:06] We buy like.
[7:09] Most of our money goes on holidays and it doesn't go on the little stuff that is in between, like the little day-to-day items like coffees and food out, lunch.
[7:19] We don't do that.
[7:20] But we've done better since Infinity's come on board.
[7:22] Because I think, especially having your RMs and people saying to you, oh, if you get to this, we can achieve this.
[7:27] It gives you a goal to go, okay, we're going to save more.
[7:30] and we're going to budget more because then we can actually achieve something better and so if you know that we came into this wanting a few properties and now we're going to have a few more i think yeah as long as you've always got a goal to get towards i think we just kind of stick to a better budget now don't we yeah because we have those goals we need that little push yeah we need a push yeah yeah so your budget currently what's your fff 6 20 a week
[7:54] 620.
[7:55] Where did you start on?
[7:56] 620.
[7:57] So we've just stuck with that whole, right?
[7:59] Yeah, then it moved.
[8:01] Yeah, and do you guys always use the 620?
[8:04] No, there'd be some weeks we use it all.
[8:06] And then there's some weeks that we don't use it all and it will roll on to the next week.
[8:10] So it just varies on how much food we need that week.
[8:14] If we're buying big bulk items or if we're going like we might have takeout with friends once a month.
[8:20] If we're going to have takeout with friends, that can be a bit more costly.
[8:23] Things like that.
[8:25] Yeah.
[8:25] Perfect.
[8:26] But we're never stressed about, but we never know.
[8:28] Like it's never like borderline.
[8:30] No, we always seem to, I think you just know what you're, I think, I think we eat at home a lot.
[8:36] Don't we?
[8:37] It's all about making lunches.
[8:39] Yeah.
[8:39] You guys are about that healthy lifestyle as well.
[8:42] Yeah.
[8:42] Which helps.
[8:43] I think if you're trying to eat healthy, you don't go eat now a lot.
[8:45] Yeah.
[8:46] Have you guys have done 75 hard?
[8:48] No.
[8:48] Have we done any of the fitness ones?
[8:50] No.
[8:51] Gee just asked that when we said no.
[8:52] We might do the 61.
[8:53] We might have to start doing the 61.
[8:55] But yeah, we work out anyway.
[8:56] But no, we've not done any of them.
[8:58] Yeah.
[8:58] No, something there we might have to look into.
[9:00] Yes.
[9:00] We will commit to it one day.
[9:01] Yeah, we will have to do that.
[9:02] But until we can commit to it fully.
[9:03] Yeah, we need to do it.
[9:04] Yep.
[9:05] With your buffer, so your fallback amount, did you guys have credit cards that you guys used previously?
[9:13] Yes, we liked credit cards for points, didn't we?
[9:16] Yeah, but it wasn't.
[9:17] We used them and then paid them off before there was any interest.
[9:20] Yeah, and then obviously they're gone now.
[9:23] Yes.
[9:24] What would you say to the point chasers and how you guys kind of changed your point of view with that?
[9:30] I think you do, as much as we paid off our interest, we never paid interest on our credit cards, you still spend more because you've got it there.
[9:37] Like, you know, it's like instead of seeing it coming out of your account, you do spend it.
[9:40] Even though we would pay it off, you'd still tap away.
[9:43] You just don't need it.
[9:45] But you don't need it.
[9:47] And I think you've just got to live within your means, don't you?
[9:50] Mm-hmm.
[9:51] Perfect.
[9:51] Do you guys have any grain of knowledge or anything that you want to partake to anyone that is kind of holding off on joining Infinity at this point of time?
[10:02] And can you give them anything to kind of jump in and just take the leap?
[10:09] I would say just do it because honestly, in five years' time, if you don't do it now, you're going to be in the same position because if you look back at five years ago, you weren't making a massive dent in your mortgage and we all thought, you know, just paid off slowly, you got 30 years.
[10:24] You need to just do it because in five years' time, you're going to have the exact same mortgage, maybe a little bit less.
[10:28] And you'll have massive regrets as well.
[10:29] Yeah, where in five years' time, you have properties.
[10:32] So if we bring that down to our situation, which hasn't even been five years, it's been two and a half years.
[10:39] So we had a mortgage of like 330 grand and one investment two and a half years ago.
[10:47] So if we didn't join Infinity...
[10:50] Yeah.
[10:50] Like we would nowhere near be in the position we are now.
[10:53] Yeah.
[10:53] So it makes you wonder, we're talking about a five-year period, where are we going to be in another two and a half years?
[10:59] Yeah.
[10:59] So it's like if you don't do it now and you don't push aside all those excuses you have...
[11:07] you're going to regret it in five years.
[11:10] It's as simple as that.
[11:11] I think people are scared of budgeting and also being told what to do with their money.
[11:15] I think that's a massive thing.
[11:16] Like we notice with friends and stuff, they get a bit nervous about, you know, what's it going to be like?
[11:20] Are we going to be having to be strict?
[11:21] And it's like...
[11:21] Almost intimidated.
[11:22] Yeah, but then it's like, yeah, at the same time you are, but it's more of a guidance.
[11:27] So you go to a personal trainer for personal training.
[11:29] You should go to someone to learn how to organize your finances.
[11:33] And I think that would just teach you.
[11:35] And we're not financial people, are we?
[11:37] No, no.
[11:37] It's like we come to you guys because you guys know what you're doing.
[11:41] And clearly you do.
[11:43] Yeah.
[11:43] So look at you guys now.
[11:45] I know.
[11:45] Yeah.
[11:46] No, perfect.
[11:47] So everyone's going to be obviously seeing you guys at REMS going forward.
[11:51] You guys are happy for as many questions as possible.
[11:54] Yeah, yeah.
[11:55] Honestly, come up and have a chat because we don't talk shit.
[11:59] Yeah, we'll be very honest.
[12:01] We'll tell you how it is and that's it.
[12:04] And even like I think sometimes we listen at REMS and people talk about the FF and how much they spend on food.
[12:10] We do spend a fair bit of food.
[12:12] Like our food bill, some people are scared like, oh, I'm not going to have to stick to 250.
[12:15] We do spend more like 400 because we do like to eat organic.
[12:20] We like to eat good food.
[12:21] So you can make it work.
[12:23] It just means that you can't buy your coffee out every week.
[12:24] So you have to, if you're going to make that choice, you've got to give up something else.
[12:28] The little shifts.
[12:28] Yeah, you're going to make shifts.
[12:30] And I think that's something we were willing to do because that's our priority in our life.
[12:34] Yeah, so I think you don't have to stick to only $250 bill if you are the kind of person like me that likes to eat really healthy.
[12:40] You can make it work.
[12:41] And you've just got to stick to a specific amount that you've worked through and you know how you're going to do it and where you're going to go from there.
[12:48] Just stop making those excuses.
[12:51] Just do it.
[12:52] Awesome.
[12:53] Thank you so much for joining me today, guys.
[12:55] Thank you.
[12:56] And yeah, we'll see you at REM.
[12:57] Thank you.
[12:58] Awesome.
[12:58] Bye.
[12:59] You're fucking gone.
[13:00] See ya.
