In this episode of The Money Mentor Podcast, Angela sits down with Fabian & Lola to explore their inspiring financial turnaround after joining the Infinity family. Before starting their journey, they were juggling a $515,000 home loan, no savings, $20,000 in credit card debt, and relying on Afterpay, all while holding an “old dawg” investment property that wasn’t helping them move forward. With no structure, no clear plan, and finances that didn’t reflect how hard they were working, they knew something had to change. Since joining Infinity in July 2024, their transformation has been incredible. Their home loan has dropped to $159,000, with $138,000 available in redraw, they’ve built a portfolio of three investment properties, grown their super to over $200,000 plus one property inside SMSF, and now manage a $700 weekly FFF with confidence and clarity. They even sold their caravan to redirect their finances toward long term goals, a decision that has paid off significantly. Fabian & Lola share how Infinity gave them structure, accountability, and a community that genuinely supports their goals. As parents, they’re now passing the lessons they’ve learned onto their kids, teaching them smart money habits and building generational wealth from the inside out. Their best advice for anyone considering starting the Infinity journey..... 👉 Watch the free webinar to start your own journey: https://bit.ly/43V2jKN

[0:06] Take some free information.
[0:07] Go do a webinar.
[0:10] Do the masterclass and, you know, it's not that much money compared to what you're going to say.
[0:15] Look at the investment that you're going to make in yourself, not what it's going to cost you.
[0:19] No, because we notice then that people start becoming a bit negative about what you say.
[0:23] Just like, yep, if you want to take this information, that's all you.
[0:28] Yep.
[0:29] Money isn't rude of all evil, the fucking lack of it is.
[0:31] Not money, the lack of understanding money.
[0:34] When I put that into emphasis, when I realise our psychological effect and how it hit our family, I FDB in a fucking way.
[0:40] You are now watching the Money Mentor Podcast.
[0:43] With Graham Holm.
[0:44] Graham Holm.
[0:45] Graham Holm.
[0:46] Graham Holm.
[0:49] You're fucking gone.
[0:50] See ya.
[0:51] Hi guys, welcome.
[0:53] I'm Angela.
[0:53] I'm the Relationship Manager here at Infinity.
[0:56] Today we're welcoming my beautiful clients, Lola and Fabian.
[1:01] Hi, how are you?
[1:02] Hi.
[1:03] Good, yourself?
[1:03] Good.
[1:04] Thank you for joining me today.
[1:06] Thank you.
[1:06] No worries.
[1:07] good i wanted to have a little catch up with you guys run through a couple of questions see what your experiences are with infinities particularly myself um and yeah just sort of get a rundown as to how you guys are feeling with the whole journey so far so first things first please tell me about yourself yeah yep so we're a family of four we've got two girls two and six and fabian works full-time i'm part-time photographer so
[1:33] That's us.
[1:34] And mum the rest of the time.
[1:36] And mum the rest of the time, yes of course.
[1:38] The important role.
[1:39] That's the important one, definitely.
[1:42] They must keep you busy.
[1:43] Yeah, they do.
[1:44] They do.
[1:45] We're on top of it.
[1:47] Definitely.
[1:49] I wanted to sort of get an idea as to how you guys were pre-infinity.
[1:53] Did you guys have a budget?
[1:55] What was your financial situation?
[1:58] So we didn't have a budget back then before infinity.
[2:02] So we just spent whatever we wanted.
[2:06] We didn't have a budget.
[2:07] We dipped below our buffer.
[2:09] We had a buffer and then we dipped below that.
[2:11] So then we knew we were in trouble.
[2:13] We're like, all right, we need to make a change now.
[2:15] So pre-infinity, that was us.
[2:20] And now I suppose for the better, really.
[2:21] Yeah.
[2:23] Probably got more money than ever now.
[2:24] Yeah.
[2:24] And, you know, the deals, essentially.
[2:27] Just by making small changes, you know.
[2:29] What type of changes?
[2:30] It's like getting the FFF, structuring our accounts, you know.
[2:35] Yeah, online shopping.
[2:36] Yep.
[2:37] Simple things, just not buying shit for the kids.
[2:39] Yep.
[2:40] Yep.
[2:40] Was that the biggest expense?
[2:42] Who knows, because we didn't know where it was going.
[2:44] It was just funneling out to nowhere.
[2:48] No, because we weren't watching where the money was going.
[2:50] We were just like, yep, let's treat ourselves.
[2:52] Let's go out to dinner.
[2:54] Let's take the girls here and there.
[2:56] And before you know it, you're spending $200 on a day out.
[3:00] Yeah, expensive loaves of bread just running, running, running together, you know.
[3:06] Teens me for that.
[3:07] Yeah, 100%.
[3:09] How often did you do grocery shopping?
[3:10] Like, once a week?
[3:11] Like, whenever I wanted to, just run down to the shops and, you know.
[3:14] So you never did, like, one big load of shopping?
[3:17] No, it's too hard with the girls.
[3:19] They just, I want this, I want that.
[3:20] So, yeah, just ran out whenever I got a chance by myself.
[3:24] But, you know, you spend then as well.
[3:26] You're like, yeah, we'll have that off the shelf and...
[3:28] Oh, if it's on special?
[3:29] The temptation's there.
[3:30] Oh, yeah.
[3:31] If it's in front of you, the temptation's there.
[3:33] And you don't realise how much money you waste.
[3:35] It's like you're not going to use that in the cupboard still.
[3:38] Yeah.
[3:38] Yeah, so.
[3:39] Yeah.
[3:40] I love it.
[3:41] So what about now?
[3:42] What's your FFF?
[3:43] And are we going like under that, over that?
[3:45] What's...
[3:47] 700.
[3:47] And we haven't changed.
[3:49] Yeah, we haven't changed, but I don't mind having a buffer there on that.
[3:54] Just, you know, if the cars need extra fuel for the week or whatever, but it's not like we go out and spend it.
[3:59] Yep.
[4:00] We haven't broken it once.
[4:03] we still end up, you know, maybe anywhere from 50, 100, 150.
[4:07] Depends if you, you know, you feel up.
[4:09] Still doing your date nights?
[4:11] Not as much.
[4:12] We just got told two by G. So he's like, nah, we need a sort of...
[4:18] Yeah.
[4:18] So, plus we don't reward ourselves as much as we should.
[4:21] So.
[4:23] Acknowledge the wins.
[4:24] The wins, yeah.
[4:25] Yeah.
[4:26] That's a part of the wins.
[4:27] I think I always have conversations with you guys where I'm like, how's your date night?
[4:31] Go out.
[4:31] Why are you not spending time together?
[4:33] So we really need to hold you guys accountable for that and actually start doing weekly or at least monthly, like once a month, spend a little bit big, but at least you're spending that quality time together.
[4:45] Yeah.
[4:46] Yeah.
[4:47] all about everything, you know, just work, work, work.
[4:49] It's not healthy.
[4:51] No.
[4:52] Yeah, your mind's on a goal, but obviously if we don't celebrate that goal of a target, there's no point in doing what we're doing really, is there?
[5:01] No.
[5:02] You've got to enjoy life as well because obviously if you're enjoying it, you're passing that positivity to your girls as well.
[5:09] Yeah.
[5:10] And I also, I think I mentioned to you guys as well, new infinity generation, hey?
[5:16] Yeah.
[5:17] Yeah, that's it.
[5:18] Little.
[5:18] They'll come through strong.
[5:19] Little jeans.
[5:21] Just reading them a little nighttime book.
[5:24] Ah, just a nice book.
[5:25] What type of book was that?
[5:26] Yeah.
[5:27] It was Rich Dad Poor Dad, but yeah, said to Jay, we'll have to get her onto the money mentor now.
[5:33] Yes.
[5:34] Yeah.
[5:35] How are the girls finding it?
[5:36] Do they realize what you guys are doing?
[5:38] The older one does.
[5:39] Yeah.
[5:39] She's six, so she's, you know, caught on to what we're doing and, you know, trying to teach her, you know, the wants and needs.
[5:48] things like that.
[5:49] Yeah.
[5:49] Yeah.
[5:50] She loves infinity.
[5:51] Yeah.
[5:52] Eliza understands, you know, like, I don't know if she fully understands, but, you know.
[5:56] No.
[5:56] She loves throwing out the word assets.
[5:59] Yeah.
[5:59] You know, just finance.
[6:01] She just loves that kind of stuff because, you know, we talk about it now openly.
[6:05] Yeah.
[6:05] Because it's something that we can do, I suppose, and be comfortable in talking about it.
[6:10] Yeah.
[6:10] Yeah, we've taken her to the community events back in Melbourne and she just loves it.
[6:14] Like being part of that community is really, really infectious.
[6:18] You guys are infectious.
[6:20] I was going to ask you guys, like how are you finding the community?
[6:24] Because you're very involved in it, like obviously with the Facebook, the community events, you know, the REMS, the Christmas parties, all that fun stuff, but also the team that's behind you as well because you've got your own Wealthstrat, Finance, me.
[6:37] You've got a whole team behind you.
[6:39] How are you finding the whole experience?
[6:41] Yeah, really positive.
[6:43] Easy.
[6:44] Yeah, easy.
[6:46] It really is.
[6:46] Like, you know, here's a plan, here's a structure.
[6:50] Follow it.
[6:51] Yep.
[6:53] Make up your own numbers along the way to put in, you know, to add, you know, our FFF and everything.
[6:59] reasonable numbers reasonable numbers obviously and that's the thing it's all it's all within us like we're we're picking our numbers we're yeah but anyway we have a chat to you you know yeah you're not like let's get down to business you know we talk about family we talk about how we're going in each other's lives you show us your dog photos i love my scuffy he's my favorite child
[7:21] kids take up half the meeting yeah running in and out but yeah that's part of life isn't it yeah and they're part of our life and you know we appreciate you having them on as well yes sure not all business no and i think that's so important because you can't be business all the time that's a transactional sort of relationship
[7:41] That's not what infinity is.
[7:43] Like I personally, I care about you guys.
[7:46] So I enjoy when your daughters come in and sort of take over.
[7:49] Just asking random questions.
[7:51] Yeah.
[7:51] We spend like what, 10 minutes on business and then the other 20 just having chats.
[7:56] On her magnets.
[7:57] Magnets and business.
[7:59] Yeah.
[8:01] Yeah.
[8:01] She's cool.
[8:02] That's it.
[8:02] She loves it.
[8:03] No, that's awesome.
[8:05] Yeah, she will be next generation.
[8:06] Well, they both will be.
[8:07] Yeah.
[8:08] Yeah.
[8:08] For sure.
[8:09] Yeah, cool.
[8:11] And the other thing I wanted to discuss with you guys as well is if you have, you know, you're talking to people, obviously the barbecue, backyard barbecue, they're sort of on the fence.
[8:21] Should I go?
[8:22] Should I not go?
[8:23] What's your experiences?
[8:25] What advice would you tell them?
[8:27] We've learned not to go too deep with those questions.
[8:30] We're like, yep.
[8:31] if you want to learn about infine or what we're doing you know watch this you know podcast take take some free information go do yeah do a webinar do the master class and you know it's not that much money compared to what you're going to say look at the investment that you're going to make in yourself yeah not what it's going to cost you because we know to send that people start becoming a big negative about what you say and you're just like yep if you want to take this information yeah yeah that's all you yeah
[9:00] Yeah, free info, really.
[9:01] Take it, just do something.
[9:03] Yeah.
[9:03] Because, yeah, before you know it, the kids will be grown up and then we'll still have to work to fund ourselves.
[9:09] Not this way.
[9:10] That's so scary.
[9:11] Yeah.
[9:12] We all want to retire early, right?
[9:14] Yep.
[9:14] Have that passive income.
[9:15] Have that choice to stop, you know, not that we want to stop, but have a choice in the matter, so.
[9:22] And I think it's one of those things as well where if you're doing certain things a particular way and there's no changes happening, even though you want those changes, you know, definition of insanity, right?
[9:33] You do the same thing constantly, but there's no changes.
[9:36] You have to do something different.
[9:39] So you have to be brave, take that step, step out of your comfort zone and just try it.
[9:43] Yeah.
[9:44] Yep.
[9:45] So have you found the journey with infinity having your own relationship manager as well?
[9:51] Well, I suppose you're pretty new to us, but the transition was seamless.
[9:57] The changeover was good.
[9:58] Yeah, it was, you know, let's have a meeting, let's have a meet and greet.
[10:03] And it was like we'd known you forever anyway.
[10:06] Like Chantal said, like, you know, she's matched you up with us for a reason.
[10:14] Yeah, it's worked.
[10:16] Yeah.
[10:17] Don't know which one's better yet.
[10:19] Yes, you do.
[10:25] No, that's good.
[10:25] I think that sort of divides our business compared to others as well.
[10:30] It's the whole team and support you have behind you guys.
[10:33] Have you been with any other financial institutions before joining Infinity?
[10:37] No.
[10:37] No.
[10:38] No.
[10:39] Great.
[10:40] So we've set the bar.
[10:41] We've set the standard.
[10:42] All new to us.
[10:43] But yeah, you know, you have, when we have our chats with you, it's like, oh yeah, you know, we go through what we've spent, what we can do better.
[10:51] So your little tips as well help us as well.
[10:55] Yeah.
[10:56] And everyone's in the same boat.
[10:59] So everyone knows, you know, rapid repay or any structure.
[11:04] Everyone's doing that.
[11:05] So everyone's come up through and everyone knows the right terminology and wording and, you know, we're just, we're there.
[11:14] And sweeping.
[11:14] Lots and lots of sweeping.
[11:16] Lots of sweeping.
[11:16] Yeah, into the right accounts.
[11:18] Yeah, the bigger the better.
[11:20] Yes.
[11:23] Also, I wanted to, before we end this meeting, I've just loved talking to you guys, but before we end this meeting, I really want you guys to do the best G impression that you have.
[11:33] Sorry, I'm going to put you on the spot.
[11:34] I'm going to show G this as well, just so then that way he can get you up on stage again for a ram.
[11:39] Yeah, all right.
[11:42] I'll sign it off then.
[11:43] You can do yours and then I'll sign it off.
[11:47] Okay.
[11:48] I'll just fuck, fuck, go fuck myself then.
[11:54] You're fucking gone.
[11:55] See ya.
[11:57] You do you, boo.
[11:59] You're fucking gone.
[12:00] See ya.
