Before joining Infinity, Nathan & Leanne were comfortable but uncertain about their next steps. They had a $280K home loan, a $480K combined super balance, a $40K novated car lease, and no clear financial plan. Their budget was unstructured, and they weren’t sure how to move forward or make their money work harder for them. After finding Infinity and joining the program, everything changed. With Infinity’s guidance, they created a clear strategy, paid off their home and car loans completely, and built a portfolio of three investment properties (including one in their SMSF) worth over $4.18 million. They also sold off unnecessary assets like their jet ski and trailer, streamlined their finances and now live with total confidence in their plan. Today Nathan & Leanne feel empowered. They’re building a legacy for their two kids and inspiring others to take control of their finances with purpose and discipline. This episode dives into: - What it’s like to have a Relationship Manager by your side - How they learned to budget, save, and still enjoy life - Investing while managing a mortgage and how it’s possible - Growing their investment portfolio and financial confidence - Their experience with the Infinity community and family - What’s next — dream home goals, future investments, and well-earned holidays 👉 Watch the free webinar to start your own journey: https://bit.ly/43V2jKN

## Transcript

[0:00] G and the company are real people.
[0:02] They're not, it's not a stitch up, it's not a set up.
[0:06] They're not trying to con you out of your money.
[0:08] They give so much more than what people see.
[0:11] And we see that inside the Infinity Fam.
[0:13] You get this wonderful community, you get all these people around you.
[0:15] And yes, there is a fee attached to it, but so there should be.
[0:19] Because I can tell you right now, if you value your time and everything else that you do, where you make money, it will cost you more than the fee.
[0:28] I guarantee you, it's just, you get a relationship manager, you get wealth strategists, you get all these people around you that set you up not to fall on your face.
[0:36] And you've always been...
[0:37] It's the root of all evil, the fucking lack of it is.
[0:40] Money, the lack of understanding money.
[0:42] When I put that into emphasis, when I realised our psychological effect and how it hit our family, I have to be in the fucking way.
[0:48] You are now watching the Money Mentor podcast with Graham Himes.
[0:52] Graham Himes.
[0:53] Graham Himes.
[0:57] fucking gone.
[0:58] See ya.
[0:59] What's it like having a relationship manager?
[1:02] That's what people always kind of get stuck on.
[1:04] I think the, what is that about?
[1:08] What is it like day to day?
[1:09] Is it hard or?
[1:12] No.
[1:12] I like.
[1:12] Someone you can call and you don't have to have like this professional filter on.
[1:16] You can just be like, I'm stressed.
[1:18] There's too much going on.
[1:20] I don't understand all this paperwork, help and.
[1:24] Yeah, Josh has really been a good calm amongst my internal storm that I create for myself.
[1:31] So I have called and messaged him a few times, and it's because I'm in the thick of it.
[1:36] But he's, yeah, he's just, it's like it's all good, and I would really struggle without...
[1:43] Josh, we need him.
[1:45] Yeah, no, like Leanne said, it's so easy to have someone you can just pick up the phone to if we're not sure about anything with our investments or the budget or whatever it may be with inside what we're doing.
[1:59] And you just, Josh, I just send him a text and say, hey, mate, what do you think about this?
[2:04] He goes, I'll get on to Luke or I'll get on to someone and we'll sort it out.
[2:07] And usually by the afternoon it's done, isn't it?
[2:10] It's like a social counsellor for your finance.
[2:12] Yeah, you should cancel it for your finances.
[2:14] I like that.
[2:14] Yeah, I was thinking it sounds almost like a therapist.
[2:16] You can be like, I'm thinking about this and then what do I do about that?
[2:19] Well, I think sometimes it probably would for them.
[2:21] Oh, yeah.
[2:22] To be honest with you.
[2:23] It would be a hard job.
[2:26] We were just saying to G, like, you know, one of the hardest things I think we found on the journey, it wasn't hard, but our point of difference for us was the budget because we never really stuck to a budget together.
[2:37] Not that strict.
[2:39] Not that strict.
[2:39] So we were like...
[2:43] Like, why are we buying this?
[2:44] And then we'd start to argue a little bit about it.
[2:46] And, you know, there was a time where Josh said, don't you be a divorce case for me, you know, like, because... And he explained, he said, like, some people just completely disagree.
[2:55] And I could see how that can happen.
[2:56] Like, we're... Look, I'm a bull at a gate and I had to wind back a little bit.
[3:00] Nathan was very excited and I just need a minute.
[3:02] Yeah, yeah.
[3:03] I just need a minute.
[3:04] Calm down.
[3:05] So we're a bit different in that way.
[3:08] I like them.
[3:08] I'm one of those people that grab it and run.
[3:10] But look, they're fantastic.
[3:13] The team is fantastic.
[3:15] Like, it's just, it's not what we expected, but I'm so glad we got it.
[3:21] What did you expect?
[3:22] Have you had experiences with other companies?
[3:25] No, but we've heard some horror stories.
[3:28] We've heard other people going into the same environment, I'll say.
[3:34] However, it's just like a pump and dump, I suppose.
[3:37] They sell them.
[3:38] They say, here's a property, they sell it, and then they just disappear.
[3:41] I don't think any other financial investment firm is set up like Infinity.
[3:48] I don't think they would do all these, like the community events, for example.
[3:53] Like they're amazing.
[3:55] The things you're doing now.
[3:56] You know.
[3:58] And it's not, and I like this.
[4:01] I can sit here and say we're not prompted.
[4:03] We're not sitting here and you guys are...
[4:05] you know going hey you need to say this or you can't use your script it's not scripted it's it's open it's no bullshit you don't have to come come or don't come like we don't care it's it's up to you guys but if you want to share your story it might help somebody else out there i think that's why we did it because we know there's people out there struggling we've got friends who are struggling um and if our
[4:28] us putting ourselves out there can help somebody else, then it's worth it, you know.
[4:35] Yeah, it's so true because it is something that I think, you know, we all grew up in different ways but the majority of us didn't talk about money with our friends or our family and it's kind of one of those things.
[4:46] It's called a taboo.
[4:47] Yeah, and it's so weird because it should be the most open thing.
[4:51] And, yeah, one of the first things I found about coming here was like everyone talks about money and it's so freeing.
[4:57] It's not a secret.
[4:58] Well, the funny thing is with money is that I find that if you talk to people, and we've been through this, like we talked about this the other day, didn't we, with people saying, oh, they've got too much money, or look at these people, they've got money and they're rich.
[5:11] Well, they only got there because of this and that.
[5:13] It would never just be that they made some really good money.
[5:16] soon to have this really negative opinion of people who have the money to be able to drive like a nice car and multiple houses and investments and we're not like that it's like well maybe they've just done really well for themselves and they've made the right choices and they don't go out and you know buy their money on alcohol and cigarettes and gamble and do all these crazy things that people do with their money.
[5:40] But it is a crazy subject in Australia, I find, that when you start to talk about money, people find it very uncomfortable for whatever reason.
[5:49] But inside the group, it's fantastic.
[5:52] It's a safe space.
[5:55] I love to see when people post their sweeps.
[5:59] Some people might post and say, I swept 20, and some of the people might post and say, I swept 800.
[6:05] They still get the same response.
[6:08] They still get, well done, well done.
[6:10] It doesn't matter how much it is, it's still a goal and it's an improvement.
[6:13] And to be part of something like that, I can't explain it.
[6:16] It's just, you know, people inside the group I can see have stopped feeling vulnerable about.
[6:24] posting that thing.
[6:25] A lot of people, if they only swept $800, well, they saved $800, they'd probably be afraid to say that they'd saved $800, right?
[6:33] Well, that's not that much.
[6:34] Yes, it is.
[6:35] It doesn't matter.
[6:36] It's something.
[6:36] It doesn't matter.
[6:37] It doesn't matter how much it is.
[6:39] You're still on the same trajectory as everybody else, regardless of how much money you can put aside.
[6:45] You are following the budget.
[6:46] You are doing what you can with what you have.
[6:49] And everyone's cheering for everyone.
[6:51] And anyone that's not, they get kicked out.
[6:53] So...
[6:54] Well, you don't want them here and that's what I like about it.
[6:56] But I haven't seen one.
[6:58] No, there's no negativity in that group at all.
[7:00] And when we've been to REMS and spoken to people, everybody's happy.
[7:05] Everybody, you can talk to people about what you're doing and there's no fear of judgment, things like that.
[7:11] But yes, we love our REM.
[7:13] Sorry, I know.
[7:14] I was about to get back to that.
[7:15] Sorry.
[7:15] We just start chatting and then we do.
[7:18] We do this, we ramble and rant.
[7:20] That's what just happened in there with G. No, but that's what it's for.
[7:22] And I think that you just said you want to share your story not because of any kind of want on your part to say, look at us, look what we've done, because that's not the nature of anyone who has anything to do with it.
[7:35] I'm not a sharer, so I was just saying.
[7:36] No, she's not a sharer.
[7:38] I do not.
[7:38] I'm very private.
[7:39] I don't take selfies.
[7:41] I don't put anything out there.
[7:42] So...
[7:43] Yeah, there'll be some people that are like, oh, she doesn't.
[7:44] Well, we'll put it at the start of the week, like we were Nelly, because Leanne had reservations, because she doesn't put herself out there.
[7:51] It doesn't make it.
[7:52] She's uncomfortable saying all this stuff.
[7:54] But one thing we're learning is that you need to be comfortable being uncomfortable in any sort of situation where investment, whether we're not here...
[8:04] If you want to grow, you've got to be uncomfortable because you don't grow on a comfort zone.
[8:07] So, you know, we wanted to put ourselves out there for different reasons and that was – we were in a different position.
[8:17] We were in a different position as far as I'm concerned.
[8:19] We didn't – we had a mortgage but we had enough money to pay it out.
[8:24] We weren't in a position where we were coming, I guess, to G and the group for how do we pay down our home loan faster.
[8:31] Yeah.
[8:32] We were coming because we wanted to understand how people with $800,000 mortgages were still investing into five property.
[8:43] I just thought, that's weird.
[8:45] Yeah.
[8:45] How does that work?
[8:46] How does that work?
[8:48] And we knew that we were in a really good position and we were talking to people and they're like, you can get one.
[8:52] I'm like Leanne, it doesn't make sense.
[8:55] I'm looking at these people over here.
[8:56] The maths isn't math here.
[8:58] It doesn't make sense.
[8:59] I'm like, what is G and this group doing that is so different?
[9:03] There was a lot of curiosity out of it when we first were introduced to it.
[9:07] We were just genuinely curious and we are sort of –
[9:11] I'm very curious.
[9:12] We're still learning stuff.
[9:13] We're still learning as we go along, but from people in the group as well.
[9:18] And the things that get shared within the group, the savings and how we're doing things and how to budget.
[9:25] So good.
[9:25] And it helps everyone at any stage.
[9:28] And it's like you said, when you come in, everyone comes in at a different point with different goals and with different – the ability to go different places.
[9:36] But, yeah, you come because –
[9:38] you know, we don't know.
[9:39] You know, we're not financial wizards in our spare time.
[9:43] We all have jobs and families and all that thing.
[9:46] And you come here because you want to learn.
[9:49] And the best thing about putting yourself out there, I think, is that it breaks down that fear that other people have, that it won't be for them or they won't benefit from it or, you know, they can't do that because they don't earn half a million dollars between them a year.
[10:03] It's like, well, actually, everyone can do something in every little bit.
[10:07] There's people that aren't even earning that, that are earning a lot less, that are making sensational gains with this company.
[10:16] And there's like even Megan and Jeremy's story.
[10:19] Like, gosh, I've cried when I listened to them on their podcast when she was talking about her mum.
[10:25] There's so many inspirational stories and amazing humans in this community.
[10:29] Yeah, 100%.
[10:30] And I think there's always...
[10:32] someone that wants to tell you you can't.
[10:35] And I hate saying that, but it's real.
[10:37] There's always someone saying that's not possible or that's a scam or a fraud.
[10:42] And we live in a world where there is a lot of scams and there are a lot of frauds, but...
[10:48] there is still real people out there and there are still people that want to help people and, you know, the Christmas appeal stuff.
[10:57] People don't do that without empathy and a heart and a place that it comes from, a good place and genuine stuff.
[11:02] We're just really honoured and fortunate and grateful to have found Infinity and to be part of this community.
[11:12] Because they're fantastic.
[11:12] We feel like we're in the right space.
[11:14] We feel like we've found the people.
[11:16] You know when you feel like you find your people that's like,
[11:18] Because we're not very social.
[11:19] Nathan and I don't, we don't really drink a lot.
[11:22] No.
[11:22] Except that maybe once a year on our birthdays we allow ourselves to have a margarita.
[11:27] We have a margarita.
[11:27] And at the Christmas party.
[11:28] And I only need one now, which is fantastic.
[11:31] But we don't, you know, compared to a lot of, I think, other, you know, average Australians have their barbecues and they're, you know, a lot of.
[11:38] their socializing's revolved around yeah you know drinking and stuff like that we don't we don't do a lot of that we don't drink we don't yeah so we're still socialized but we i think not a lot find you but it's nice to find a different group of people and like-minded all have similar goals you don't realize what is out there and how because you know when you open your social media or you look on yeah
[12:00] watch the news or watch TV, there's a lot of negativity.
[12:03] And when you do find something like this, it's like, well, there must be a catch because everyone can't be that nice and everyone can't be that happy for each other.
[12:08] You're programmed to almost talk yourself out of it.
[12:11] That's how we've been programmed.
[12:12] Well, you do because you know what?
[12:14] The first thing that most of us do when we do something is we jump on Google and we
[12:18] Don't see what positive ones we can find.
[12:20] We look for the bad stuff.
[12:21] I knew someone said that the other day.
[12:22] It's like I just kept looking until I could find something bad.
[12:26] I wanted to find a catch.
[12:27] Lenny and Casey.
[12:31] That was sort of the thing that got me over the line, Casey being the private investigator, because I feel like I probably could have done well in that profession.
[12:40] The way I research everything.
[12:43] And I thought, well, she would have really done her due diligence.
[12:48] And if there was something, I mean, there's always going to be little bits and pieces that pop up, but you would want to be finding something.
[12:56] She would find something concrete.
[12:57] And if she couldn't do that, then.
[13:00] I think when I looked, I'm not going to sit here and say I did it, but I think the only thing I could find was just someone's opinion.
[13:06] It wasn't factual.
[13:07] They weren't part of anything.
[13:09] It was an opinion.
[13:13] But I've stopped myself from doing that now.
[13:16] Well, you know what happens and you know what it's doing for you.
[13:19] So what has it done?
[13:21] I know that you were in a good position when you joined.
[13:24] But what has it done to your day-to-day?
[13:26] What's the biggest kind of shift that you've – that has kind of been facilitated by being part of this?
[13:32] Honestly, we're really conscious of what we're spending our money on now in the budget.
[13:36] Yeah.
[13:36] Like if I could give anyone any advice about finances, and I'm not qualified to, but budget would be the first thing I would say.
[13:45] If you can have – if you know what you're spending your money on and you know what you've got coming in and going out, then you're probably on top of your finances because half the people, you know what's coming in, 99% of all people wouldn't know what was coming in.
[13:59] Yeah, if you had asked me how much are you spending on groceries, like Nathan knew probably more.
[14:04] He watched it more.
[14:06] But I was like, I don't know, a couple of bucks here and there.
[14:09] Yeah.
[14:09] I wouldn't be able to tell you a figure.
[14:10] But it's the tappiest.
[14:12] the tapis get you um like we like to eat um pretty healthy and we go to the health food store and as silly as it sounds but we'd go in and we'd grab like a couple bottles of kambucha and whatever whatever but we never thought about it but it was like one thing we noticed because we keep the bottles the 10 cent for change things with kids
[14:31] Yes, that's one of the things we really noticed.
[14:34] So we realised how much money we were just going out and spending.
[14:38] Spending on just drinks.
[14:39] And I think for most people it would be silly things that you don't even think about.
[14:43] It's soft drinks.
[14:45] It's packet food which you could easily just make things at home.
[14:49] Things outside of your stables.
[14:51] Yes, coffees.
[14:52] I used to get a coffee.
[14:52] It's the drinks.
[14:53] It's the liquid beverages, honestly.
[14:55] Even just taking that out.
[14:57] And you don't need it.
[14:58] Like you don't think you do, but you don't.
[14:59] I used to go, every time I used to go to work, and this is a funny part, is I'd get a coffee, right, which a lot of people do, but I'd also go, mmm, brownie.
[15:07] Brownie because you can't have coffee without a brownie.
[15:10] It's there.
[15:10] It's calling to you.
[15:11] I know.
[15:11] And then it's like, mmm, okay, is there anything else?
[15:14] Wow.
[15:15] oh, I might get one of those slices for later.
[15:17] But then you realise that on a daily basis, before you even get to work and start earning money, you've probably spent $25, $30.
[15:23] You've already spent the money that you've earned in the first hour before you've even done the work.
[15:27] 100%.
[15:28] And when you start to sit down and think, I'll sit back and think,
[15:31] Well, I don't think I've had a coffee where we haven't planned to go out since.
[15:37] Yeah.
[15:38] Like I don't buy coffee in the morning anymore.
[15:39] I've just stopped because I added it up.
[15:41] But we have the little sachets at home too.
[15:42] Yeah, you do it at home.
[15:43] If we want to have it, we're not missing out.
[15:46] It's really – you have to change –
[15:48] If you want to keep doing what you're doing and buying your coffees and you're happy plodding along and financially you're not stressed and you're not getting to the end of the week waiting for your next paycheck to come along, that's fine.
[15:59] Keep living your life.
[16:00] But I think it's just small little changes and you're not.
[16:05] you're not going with that.
[16:06] Like I always think like look at what's happening overseas and in other countries.
[16:11] We're very, we're fine.
[16:13] We're all pretty fine here, most of us.
[16:16] There definitely are people struggling in Australia.
[16:18] I think budget as well.
[16:20] Like people look at it as a dirty word, right?
[16:22] Well, it's a scary thing.
[16:23] Like I know that people kind of go, I don't want to do a budget because I'm scared to add up actually what I do waste.
[16:30] And how do you get...
[16:33] It's horrible.
[16:34] And the idea that you have to change all that and that someone else is watching what you're doing as well.
[16:39] I struggled with that a bit.
[16:40] Yeah.
[16:40] How did you get through that kind of – I was like, you're not going to tell me what to do.
[16:43] Go tell me.
[16:44] You're not my mum.
[16:44] Well, I mean, we were okay in that space.
[16:47] It's not like we – so we didn't drink.
[16:49] We never drank.
[16:50] We never – well, we used to drink.
[16:51] We don't anymore.
[16:52] We don't smoke.
[16:52] We don't give.
[16:53] So all that stuff.
[16:54] Since joining?
[16:54] Like since, no, we stopped drinking years ago.
[16:57] Yeah, when we moved up here, we pretty much stopped.
[16:59] So like 14 years ago, like I said, we'll have a drink.
[17:02] But we didn't have, I guess, a lot of crazy bad habits.
[17:07] But there's things in there that's pretty, there's things in there that like when you go back through were embarrassing, like where we'd go out three times a week and spend like a couple hundred dollars on a meal.
[17:17] Yeah.
[17:18] And it's like that's $600.
[17:20] I could have made better than that as well.
[17:22] Well, and sometimes that's the disappointing part.
[17:24] Like we have been out where we've spent money and gone, that was shh.
[17:27] Yeah.
[17:27] You know.
[17:28] Or maybe I didn't need to order like three entrees and two mains for myself.
[17:31] Yeah, because I am shocking.
[17:33] I'm terrible, I'll be honest with you.
[17:35] Nathan loves his food.
[17:36] We love our food.
[17:37] We're foodies.
[17:38] Like I'll go to a Mexican place and like get some like everything.
[17:43] So Nathan has stopped ordering three mains and four entrees for himself now.
[17:48] Is it in the pregame?
[17:49] Do you have a few snacks before you go out now?
[17:52] No, I just, I'm more controlled, Alex.
[17:54] And if the kids don't eat something, I'll eat theirs.
[17:56] Yeah, I'll just tidy up.
[17:57] No, look, honestly, I've just, look, I've realised.
[18:00] The waiters would come out and they'd be like, so who are these three for?
[18:03] They're all for my husband.
[18:04] But I'd be full and I'd still shove it in because I'm just an idiot.
[18:07] So, and it was quite funny, honestly.
[18:09] There are worse things too to overindulge you.
[18:11] It was funny because they'd been looking for someone to put the plate down and I'm like, no, I'd be full.
[18:14] But, you know, everyone's got their little addiction, their little habits within what they're spending and it's just looking at those, confronting them, being honest with yourself and going, do I really need it?
[18:27] Like, no, I don't.
[18:28] We're not going without.
[18:30] Do you hear Josh's voice in your head?
[18:32] Are you like, what's Josh doing?
[18:34] Look, he's pretty good with us because he talks to me a lot, but he actually gives us a compliment.
[18:39] He's like, you guys are doing pretty well.
[18:41] Like, your ratio to takeout to when you buy food and things is excellent.
[18:46] So we get a pat on the back as well.
[18:49] But it's not...
[18:50] We've never been in the naughty corner.
[18:52] I've seen some of the other ones like normalise putting your clients into your naughty corner for going over the budget and they're like standing there like little kids.
[19:00] You have to sit on the naughty step because you've got over again.
[19:03] Again, yeah.
[19:05] But it's good.
[19:06] It's when, you know, you're so flippant with your money.
[19:10] A lot of us haven't been taught how to manage our money properly.
[19:15] Like it's not a bad thing to have somebody come in and just be like,
[19:19] look, look at what you're spending your money on.
[19:21] Like you just went and got...
[19:22] It's not just about what you're spending.
[19:24] They show you another way.
[19:25] They go, look, if we don't spend all this here, this is what you can have.
[19:29] I think that's what it is, isn't it?
[19:30] It's having the goal.
[19:31] It's not I'm going to be strict and not have coffee out anymore just because it's a waste.
[19:36] I'm going to be strict and not have coffee out anymore because I want...
[19:39] that yeah and they show you the the goals what it what what how that can change your life we haven't there's been a few times particularly at the beginning it was oh it was an adjustment and i've heard other you know mums women particularly you know we've just got things that
[19:55] are just habitual with our kids that we buy and even just I didn't think I bought that much takeaway for my kids but after school they're hungry and I would just stop and get them some chips if I had to run anything to make them stop it made me more disciplined like we only go to the supermarket once a week now and I might just pick up little things if I need them but our big shop is once a week we have one day whereas I was going probably
[20:20] Four times a week.
[20:21] Or maybe sometimes five.
[20:21] Well, you drive past on the way home, don't you?
[20:23] You're like, oh, I just need to pick up that and then you get 20 things.
[20:25] And the kids are like, oh, have a snack.
[20:26] And then there's a kebab stop conveniently set up right next door to the supermarket.
[20:31] And it's just easy to say, oh, we'll just get you some chips.
[20:34] So you're filling that gap before.
[20:35] But we don't, yeah, we've stopped doing all that now.
[20:37] I think the only thing that Josh has probably chipped us about is...
[20:40] Because we didn't, like actually we weren't going out.
[20:45] And he's like.
[20:46] Yeah, he said you guys don't get a lot of takeaway.
[20:49] And he's like, you need, like next time you go out, don't be afraid to actually spend it.
[20:57] We were being like, are you trying to trick me?
[21:01] That's the thing.
[21:01] It's not just about, they're not just there to, they're there to make sure that you're also not, because let's be honest, if you're that disciplined and you don't spend any money on fun, you're going to get sick of it.
[21:14] Well, yeah, we don't want you to be miserable.
[21:15] No, you're going to be miserable 100%.
[21:17] That's not what it's about.
[21:18] And I think there would probably be that misconception with a lot of people.
[21:23] With budgets.
[21:24] With budgets.
[21:25] I earn my money.
[21:26] I'll do what I want.
[21:27] I'm like, okay, well, how's your financial situation going?
[21:30] Do you have any assets?
[21:32] You know, have you looked at what's happening with the economy and if you're even going to be able to afford to buy a house?
[21:38] Like people are renting rooms now, not houses.
[21:41] And people, I think I was watching something while I was scrolling last night and it was like, oh, well, I'm a millennial.
[21:46] I'll never own a home.
[21:48] And that's just a fact.
[21:49] And I was like, but.
[21:50] It's already ingrained.
[21:51] Yeah.
[21:51] But it's not.
[21:52] I posted a thing.
[21:53] It doesn't have to be.
[21:54] On the Infinity film.
[21:55] Did you see that?
[21:56] And where those people come out, I can't remember the dates, but they said that the block of land was three and a half thousand dollars or something like that.
[22:05] And they wanted.
[22:06] They offered $3,500 and they wanted $5,000.
[22:09] And they were like, well, we're not budging.
[22:13] But it shows you, like millennials talking about that they won't be able to afford a house.
[22:18] Everybody from every generation has probably said that they're never going to be able to afford a house because they keep going up.
[22:24] But the reality of it is, is that you can, we just have to change the way that I guess that we're looking at.
[22:30] You just have to take the leap.
[22:31] You have to take the risk.
[22:34] You have to understand there might be fails along the way, but you're not going to progress.
[22:38] You will stay comfortable and safe in your own spot, but you won't progress.
[22:41] You have to take the jump.
[22:43] Or you can just keep making excuses and procrastinating like I did for a long time.
[22:48] like we did for a long time.
[22:49] Yeah.
[22:49] And I wish we took the jump sooner.
[22:51] Yeah, I think everyone has that moment too.
[22:52] Like pre-COVID would have been awesome.
[22:54] I think everyone has that moment too, that when you do take the leap and you look in hindsight and think, I should have done this a while ago.
[23:00] We did that.
[23:01] But the budget.
[23:02] If you're thinking about it, just do it.
[23:04] The budget.
[23:05] That's what I was going to say.
[23:05] What would you say?
[23:07] Would you say to kind of people you know that will obviously see this, be like, what would you say if they're going, oh,
[23:12] I really want to, but I'm not sure.
[23:15] Stop talking about it.
[23:16] Stop thinking about it.
[23:17] Stop researching.
[23:18] Stop overanalyzing.
[23:19] Just do it.
[23:20] Take action.
[23:22] Look, I don't.
[23:22] That's what I would say.
[23:23] Look, I think I agree with part of that.
[23:26] I think everyone should do their own research.
[23:28] Everyone should do their own due diligence, right?
[23:30] Because there are people out there and if you don't do your own due diligence, then you end up in the wrong spot.
[23:36] So you need to do that.
[23:38] But...
[23:39] There are genuine people out there, like the company, like Infinity, that genuinely want to help.
[23:46] And they are.
[23:48] So if I'm sitting here and I'm telling anyone out there that's listening to me, G and the company are real people.
[23:56] It's not a stitch up.
[23:57] It's not a set up.
[23:59] They're not trying to con you out of your money.
[24:01] They give so much more than what people see.
[24:04] And we see that inside the Infinity Fam.
[24:06] You get this wonderful community, you get all these people around you.
[24:08] And yes, there is a fee attached to it, but so there should be.
[24:12] Because I can tell you right now, if you value your time and everything else that you do where you make money, it will cost you more than the fee.
[24:21] I guarantee you, it's just you get a relationship manager, you get wealth strategists, you get all these people around you that set you up not to fall on your face.
[24:29] And you've always got someone to call.
[24:31] So you don't get that anywhere else.
[24:32] If you're unsure, you've always got somebody that you can call as opposed to going with a company where you might not have all this whole team around you.
[24:42] We always know that we can call you guys and whatever question we have, it will be answered or dealt with.
[24:47] What's the funniest question or the most kind of out there question you've asked that you were like, oh, I'm not sure I should ask this, but I'm going to anyway.
[24:54] There's so many emails and things that I've sent.
[24:57] Was it around, oh, we sent about the rental guarantees.
[25:03] That was a thing that got like that was, you know, people were putting in our head as well.
[25:08] So we, like, and we still, we've had that, like where people are like, well, you know, they do this and this happens and this happens.
[25:16] So...
[25:17] naturally like you want to start to ask a question and we asked a question it got answered um you know like there was we got people talking about round guarantees and bits and pieces and there's just a lot of terminology you don't understand but there's been a lot of questions that I've thought in my head should I answer that but then it just gets answered anyway without me having to ask it so or I'll speak to him because he understands a lot more of it than I do and he'll be like
[25:43] But they already talked about that, don't you remember?
[25:45] I was like, no, my brain isn't much.
[25:46] Everyone's.
[25:47] But it's not your job to know all those things.
[25:49] No.
[25:49] That's why we exist because you can take away that burden.
[25:53] Last night is a prime example of that.
[25:54] We got a 156-page contract document for our SMF, right?
[25:58] Yeah.
[26:07] And anyone that's sitting there and says that you don't get value for money, read that document and make sense of it yourself.
[26:14] It'll take you months and months and months because there's shit in there that nobody would even understand besides someone that is specialised in that.
[26:23] And I looked at it and I started going through it.
[26:25] And Leanne's like, are you going to read it?
[26:27] I said, no, that's why we have these questions.
[26:31] That's why we have them.
[26:32] So the first document was nerve-wracking at the start because we rang our conveyances and they were like, we've got you covered.
[26:39] It's all sorted.
[26:39] They go through it for you.
[26:41] You're happy for you to read them, but this is what we do for you.
[26:46] And you know what?
[26:48] That's it, right?
[26:49] It's like you get a document now, a docusign, and it's like, oh, it's this document.
[26:54] It's like, do we need to read it?
[26:55] No, we don't.
[26:57] No, we don't.
[26:58] There's this shit in there that doesn't matter what I read anyway.
[27:00] I can read through that whole document and understand 2% of it.
[27:03] So we're not solicitous.
[27:04] We haven't been to you in six years in study law.
[27:06] You know, there's terminology in there and things like that.
[27:10] But that's what I'm talking about with time.
[27:13] To do that and understand it correctly, first, you'd probably need a degree.
[27:18] And secondly, who's got time when you've got a family and you've got jobs and you've got all the other shit that happens in your life around you?
[27:26] They just make it easy.
[27:27] They make the process easy for you.
[27:29] I want that to be the case.
[27:30] I want to be able to ring up and say, hey, we've got enough cash in the bank.
[27:34] Can we look at another investment?
[27:35] And they go, yep, and we find you one.
[27:37] And we sign the documents and that's it.
[27:39] And it's done.
[27:39] It's done.
[27:40] So what are your goals now?
[27:41] Have they changed?
[27:43] I know often people go in and chat to you and things change completely.
[27:47] Yeah, no, look, our plan is still the same.
[27:50] I think as we're so new, we're still just coasting along on what we were given at REM and discussed with Luke.
[27:58] But, you know, there's always times where Nathan and I will just have chats at home.
[28:04] We'll go like,
[28:05] oh, let's just give them a call and see if this might be a possibility or maybe we have capacity, maybe we can come to the next REM.
[28:12] But having the opportunity just to be able to do that, whereas a lot of other places, no, this is one, two, three houses, this is set, you're going to leave them, let them do their thing, you guys go back to your lives.
[28:26] There's no more opportunity for growth or for things to change.
[28:29] Like we're at that stage in our lives where we're,
[28:31] you know, once the kids are a bit older in the next few years, where we might be wanting to get a bit more aggressive.
[28:38] I guess we started to think about it a little bit more.
[28:40] Like when it got put in front of us, it was like we were just so stoked that we had, you know, those investments, properties put in front of us.
[28:47] And now that we've sat down and that's another, like me and Anne said, it's the best part is that if we want to change our plan, we can go, hey,
[28:57] What do you think about this?
[28:58] We want to, you know, Leanne and I decided that we want to move to the coast.
[29:05] And we've asked that question.
[29:07] We've asked and they're like, you know, we've got some things happening next year.
[29:10] And Josh was like, mate.
[29:12] settle the property first and then we will look and see where we're at with the next point and the next point and the next point.
[29:19] But it's just knowing that there's options.
[29:21] It's not a no.
[29:21] It's never a no.
[29:22] It's a let's just see what we can do and if it's possible, shit, we'll make it happen for you.
[29:29] And that's fantastic because that's where we were stuck.
[29:33] We were stuck at a point where we just didn't know what to do with the money we had.
[29:39] Like people were buying, we could have bought one investment property, we could have done that ourselves, we could have went out and picked a property wherever we wanted.
[29:45] We did have an investment property.
[29:47] And bought it and purchased it and set it up as a rental and be done with it.
[29:50] Would I have been happy?
[29:51] Yeah, I would have been okay with that.
[29:54] When we started watching the podcasts and everything like that, I'm like, some of these people don't earn as much as we do.
[30:01] They don't.
[30:02] They've got more debt than what we do.
[30:04] And they've got... A huge amount of assets.
[30:06] Four assets, five assets.
[30:07] I'm like, they're doing something completely different to what everyone else is doing.
[30:13] And I want to know why.
[30:14] Yeah, I want to know.
[30:15] I want to know how they're doing it.
[30:17] They want that recipe.
[30:18] We spoke to a few people before we come here because I said to G, like we went on an educational piece as opposed to, because I like to understand how things work myself and I want to be able to invest in things by myself.
[30:32] But, you know, the thing was is that we got some advice and we talked to some people and...
[30:39] it was all malaligned right and it was like and then some people gave me the ick and then some people gave me the number up front what we had to pay and i'm like what do we get for that and then it's like oh but we do this and i'm like no no a whole bunch of i don't mind paying for anything right as long as there's value yeah you've got to see the value but i was like where is the value in that number like and then you know infinity and it's like by the way you know you pay this and
[31:08] Are all these fellas, like, are they for real?
[31:11] Like, so we get a strategist, we get a wealth strategist, so you get a planner, we've got Josh and RM and then obviously the rest of you, your team.
[31:20] To answer the question, you get it, you have support, you'll have a team, you won't be left alone and they're there all the time.
[31:29] A lot of them are actually there after hours and on weekends and they don't have to be.
[31:33] Josh come in this morning at 6.30 and he's going down to something pretty personal.
[31:40] You didn't have to do that.
[31:42] We haven't met Josh personally yet, so it was really nice not to talk to him over.
[31:46] And it's a Saturday.
[31:47] Yeah, exactly.
[31:48] They all wanted to be here today because they want to meet their clients because they're not just clients.
[31:53] It almost sounds wrong a lot of the time when I say clients.
[31:56] Those aren't your clients.
[31:56] Those are the people that you help and people that are grateful for you being there all the time for them.
[32:01] I don't know what that is.
[32:02] Just a big standard family.
[32:04] It is.
[32:05] Well, they say the infinity family and it's not –
[32:08] It's not a gimmick.
[32:09] It really is a big family.
[32:11] And you get all that and then you get to come to the party too.
[32:14] I know.
[32:15] I can't wait to see you guys at the party.
[32:17] We could talk all day but we probably have to wrap it up.
[32:21] But you got your outfit sorted?
[32:23] Yes, we've got our sheen haul and we're going to do dress-ups.
[32:26] Maybe we'll do it tonight.
[32:27] Yeah.
[32:27] I've got to, I don't, I ordered some stuff, but you know when it rocks up and you're like, duh, it doesn't look like that.
[32:34] Because it's from Shane.
[32:35] Seriously.
[32:36] What is that?
[32:37] It'll be fine.
[32:39] I think our Coachella days are probably long gone.
[32:42] I told him just to go show us because he's just got this awesome 60-strong.
[32:45] Oh, yeah, we haven't talked about the 60-strong abs.
[32:47] If you've got the abs, I mean, I think I've got to have some people there putting like sparkle and glitter and stuff so you could have glittery abs.
[32:53] Like when you used to do cross-dressing.
[32:55] And you could do the little flowers on your nipples.
[32:57] Perfect.
[32:58] There's her outfit.
[32:59] You don't even need to go to Sheen.
[33:00] It's like we budgeted and we saved money by not buying the $20 top from Sheen.
[33:05] Just no top.
[33:06] Yeah.
[33:07] Yep.
[33:08] I'll be happy.
[33:10] Give me two drinks and I'll probably take them.
[33:11] I'll be probably in my undies.
[33:12] It suits me.
[33:13] I'm getting off stage and start auctioning off.
[33:15] I don't want to feel like I'm objectifying your husband.
[33:17] I know he says to me all the time and start auctioning off, you know, ab touches, you know, five-minute ab touches, and we'll put it in our sweeps.
[33:24] Oh, we could give it all to the Kmart Wishing Tree Appeal.
[33:27] Well, that's, you know what?
[33:28] He would happy children.
[33:29] That was one thing.
[33:31] When I joined 60 Strong is that was – Leanne and I discussed it and I said if I was lucky enough to win it, we were going to give it to it.
[33:38] Yeah, we were just going to put it straight in the fund.
[33:41] That's what we were going to do.
[33:42] Yeah.
[33:42] It was –
[33:43] You know, it's money that we didn't have before anyway and it would make some kids really happy.
[33:48] Yeah, it would have changed a lot.
[33:49] So that was our plan anyway, like with the money, if I was lucky enough to win it.
[33:55] But that's what we would have done anyway.
[34:01] Yeah, but he's still, you know, he's, we lead healthy lifestyles and he did really well.
[34:07] I knew he would, I knew he'd smash it.
[34:08] He's so annoying.
[34:09] It's a discipline and a half doing the 60 strong stuff.
[34:12] I'm really, like I have, when I have a goal, I'm kind of unstoppable.
[34:17] He's annoying.
[34:18] You're in the right place.
[34:19] I look at chocolate and I'm just like, awesome.
[34:21] Yeah, so I can literally like cut it off.
[34:25] I'm like, no worries.
[34:26] I'm getting up at four.
[34:28] Like I was training twice a day, sauna in every night, walking at 11 o'clock at night.
[34:33] He was very disciplined, very communal.
[34:35] I was very proud of him.
[34:35] I wasn't happy with the steps.
[34:37] Oh, yeah, the steps are annoying.
[34:40] I was like – I haven't done 60 trying.
[34:42] I did 75 hard.
[34:43] That's a lot.
[34:44] But my husband was the same.
[34:46] It's like so annoying.
[34:47] He lost weight just looking at the step.
[34:50] I'm like –
[34:52] Well, that was the only thing that I'd annoy because I'd get home and I'd be proper buggered and Leanne's like, I'm like, hey, babe.
[34:57] She's like, hey.
[34:58] I'm like, I'm just going for a walk for 45 minutes.
[35:02] I'll be back at 11.
[35:04] But it was.
[35:05] He got good results.
[35:06] I got, yeah.
[35:07] Yeah, the results were good.
[35:08] And I knew he would.
[35:08] He's done things like this before and done it.
[35:12] But it was the community, like inside that again, like community, right?
[35:15] Yeah, it is.
[35:16] Everyone having each other's back.
[35:17] I wouldn't have done that without everyone cheering each other on.
[35:20] Like there's no way I would have just done it in my own head.
[35:22] People were like had some rough days and like honestly.
[35:26] Well, I got the flu on the first day.
[35:28] Yeah, he did.
[35:29] Perfect timing.
[35:29] And it was horrid too.
[35:31] And I still got up.
[35:32] I was like literally couldn't get off the lounge, but I walked up and down the driveway.
[35:35] and then did a little workout in there.
[35:40] But everyone was the same.
[35:41] A lot of people were like, oh, just a miracle.
[35:42] Yeah, everyone had their things pop up.
[35:44] Life happens.
[35:45] Yeah.
[35:46] But no, it was good.
[35:47] Thank you.
[35:48] So good.
[35:48] No, congratulations.
[35:49] Please don't auction me off.
[35:51] I'm not that tall.
[35:51] All right, we won't.
[35:52] I'll put glitter on after a margarita.
