## Transcript

[0:02] A listener production.
[0:06] Hamish and Andy have been sitting across from each other, talking into a microphone for over 20 years.
[0:13] And in that time, they've learned a lot.
[0:16] Some of these lessons come to light in the brand new season of The Remembering Project.
[0:22] For example, they've learned that just because Hamish was a fan of Kings of Leon, that doesn't automatically make for a great interview.
[0:30] In my head, I was like, this would be great.
[0:32] I love Kings of Leon.
[0:33] And then walking into the room going, that's not enough.
[0:39] That's not enough.
[0:40] You've mistaken this with a meet and greet.
[0:44] They learnt that a supermarket can be a fun venue for a wedding.
[0:49] People were drinking ginger beers in one aisle because we couldn't have real beers.
[0:54] The rings, the wedding rings were like fruit rings.
[0:57] Oh, right.
[0:58] Everything was like supermarket themed.
[0:59] At five o'clock, chickens went half price.
[1:03] boys learn they still disagree over a controversial segment.
[1:08] My favourite.
[1:09] Layla's lute shoot.
[1:10] No, no, not you dressed as half a chicken laying eggs.
[1:13] Still stand by it.
[1:15] You had to.
[1:16] Never have you pushed a segment so hard due to determination and stubbornness.
[1:23] Hamish learned that a full week wearing a racing helmet is not that great for you.
[1:29] And it gave me chronic neck issues.
[1:31] It only weighed about two or three kilos.
[1:33] That's a lot of extra weight on your head.
[1:35] I just had to lie down in every room and rest my head on the table.
[1:40] My neck gave me...
[1:42] In all the show meetings, Hamish just had his head sideways on the table like this.
[1:46] They learned the parody song covered really only contains one song.
[1:52] Um, let it be.
[1:53] Yep.
[1:55] I reckon we did... Let it be.
[1:57] It's a comedy song.
[1:59] A lot of...
[2:00] I reckon we did 30.
[2:02] They learned why Andy didn't last long as the show's button pusher.
[2:06] What would happen often is I'd be so engaged in laughing with what Hamish said and knocking around, and then I'd go...
[2:13] Oh!
[2:16] And then hit a song.
[2:17] They learned that one of their longest ever on-air breaks involved trying to win bundles of cash from a claw machine.
[2:26] This is nine and a half minutes.
[2:27] It was nine and a half minutes.
[2:29] We kept having another go.
[2:35] They learned that revenge was often swift and vicious.
[2:39] Did I handcuff you to a desk and spray fart spray on your face?
[2:43] Yes, sir.
[2:43] Because you farted in my new car.
[2:47] Andy learned that celeb crush hunting, where they were challenged to try and track down big-name celebs, wasn't taken as seriously by Hayne.
[2:56] I would know that you were getting warmer, and I'd go, great, so one of us is going to get it.
[3:01] And I remember, like, if it was like, we're going to try and find it by Friday, from about Tuesday onwards, my big reveal would often just be me doing an American accent.
[3:09] You're getting closer.
[3:12] And if you want to learn which Hollywood celeb, text this to Hamish.
[3:17] It just got back, please delete my number.
[3:20] What do you reckon that means?
[3:23] You'll have to listen to the brand new season of Hamish and Andy's Remembering Project.
[3:30] New episodes drop every week across summer.
[3:33] Hear it first on the free listener app.
[3:37] That is really good remembering.
