Welcome to the Breakout Business English podcast, where I help you to communicate better at work in English. Hi everyone, my name is Chris. I'm a business English coach and tutor, and I've personally worked with over 1,000 international professionals just like you to improve the way that they communicate at work in English. Thank you so much for listening. And today is... Part 1 All of... Our deep dive into Management. Style. Peace. Management styles. As you may know. I spend around 30% of my time Coaching people for job interviews I help people to not only speak great English and avoid mistakes, but to build great answers for the questions that we may find ourselves answering in job interviews, and to make sure that they're packaging their professional experience in the best way possible. For the purpose of a job interview. When I'm working with managers or people applying for their first management role, One question that often worries people is, tell me about your management style. Tell me about your management style, or maybe tell me how you like to manage people. There are many different ways that this question can be asked, but it's one of those job interview questions where interviewers can really tell if you've thought about it and prepared for it. The reason I'm telling you this is that in my experience, A lot of managers don't think about management style. Yes, they know how they like to work, they know what their relationship with their staff is like, but They don't often try to label or categorize the way that they lead their teams. Over the course of the next two or three episodes of the podcast, we're going to explore... Handful of different management styles. If you're a manager, then this might help you to structure your thoughts around management styles. Or maybe give you some good ideas for how to lead in different situations. And if you're not a manager, then this might give you some insight into why your managers lead in the ways that they do.
