Have you ever thought about the birth and death of death? Think about this for a moment... Mankind was originally created to live forever, in God's presence, cultivating a Kingdom culture on the colony of earth. One day something happened! An act of disobedience. Rebellion. A declaration of independence that affected the entirety of the species going forward. Death was born out of disobedience. Every area of our lives has been doomed to decline, without information, without management, and without obedience. After hearing the TRUTH, what will you choose? [0:09] You're listening to Crowning Ignorant Kings, a podcast for citizens with life minds who
[0:15] love God, follow Christ and have a desire to be an ambassador for the
[0:20] Kingdom of Heaven on earth. We are John and Charlayne Donaldson, who are
[0:25] teachers building a Kingdom community. Thank you again for joining us. Now let's
[0:31] sudjust our crowns critical to you and I want you to write this topic down
[0:42] if you want to take a few notes. I do want to advise you
[0:45] to take notes today for the next few minutes because you will want to remember,
[0:51] especially the young people here today, the important facts and truth about your
[0:59] life. About the life of Jesus, we want to speak on the subject
[1:04] the birth and death of death today. We want to understand the reason why
[1:19] Jesus had to die. Why he had to die. I think every day
[1:23] somebody dies, and every day there's a funeral somewhere, and some of you
[1:30] have experienced the pain of death from a family loved one. But why did
[1:38] he die? There are seven great controversies in history. I want to name
[1:52] the seven greatest controversies. These caused the most problems in the world world.
[2:01] I picked up the US News and World Report magazine yesterday. I picked up
[2:07] the Time magazine this week. Day before yesterday in Charlotte, North Carolina,
[2:14] as I was flying through, I picked up a copy of Newsweek, and
[2:21] I found out that on the cover of all the top us magazines that carry
[2:25] news they had a picture of Jesus. And they seem as if even though
[2:31] they may hate him and don't want him in the courtroom or don't want him
[2:37] in the schools, or they don't want him in the judiciary, don't want
[2:40] him in government, somehow they can't ignore this unanimous figure, this histolic problem
[2:50] called Jesus. The skeptics they hate him, The gnostics they say that he
[3:02] wasn't real, he was some apparition. They have the atheists who say he
[3:09] was just a good man, not really anything important. And there are those
[3:15] who say that he died as a martyr for a cause. But this man
[3:23] caused more controversy in the past two thousand years than any figure in history.
[3:30] He's been dead for two thousand years, and he is still a problem in
[3:32] our university's classrooms today. Why can't we get rid of this man? Why
[3:39] can't we just get him out of our economy, out of our politics,
[3:44] out of our social life. Get rid of Jesus. That seemed to be
[3:46] the desire, but the reality is difficult. The first controversy that has caused
[3:53] problems is the birth of Jesus. They hate the fact that he was born
[4:00] supernaturally. Secondly, the life of Jesus is a controversy. His miracles,
[4:08] the way he responded to pressure, the way he handled criticism, the way
[4:12] he forgave the unforgivable, the way he dealt with people who deserved no mercy.
[4:16] His life got people and still make them angry. The third controversy is
[4:23] his message. What he preached didn't make any sense. He taught love and
[4:29] not war. He didn't attack the Roman Empire, and yet he promised that
[4:32] he would destroy them. His disciples used the sword he told them to put
[4:35] it up. His message was a message of a kingdom, and yet it
[4:40] did not want to take over nations physically, as a strange message. Then
[4:45] his death was a problem, and that's the big one we deal with today.
[4:48] All men have to die, and many men were crucified in this way.
[4:55] But this man's death has caused more problems than his life, because after
[5:00] he died, the thing that he gave to the earth grew, which was
[5:06] his message his kingdom. And then the next controversy is his burial. They're
[5:13] still wondering where his grave is. They're not sure what happened to his body.
[5:16] There's all kinds of arguments and all kinds of discussions and debates about this
[5:23] man. Matter of fact, they can't find his body, but yet they're
[5:26] still not sure where he is. And then the next controversy is his resurrection.
[5:32] Did he rise from the dead or did they steal his body? Did
[5:35] they hide him? Has anyone seen him? Can a man really rise from
[5:41] the dead after three days of rotting? Is it profitable man to live again
[5:45] after he's been killed and commissioned into debt and sealed in a tomb? Is
[5:49] it possible? It's a controversy still today. The last controversy is his promise.
[5:55] He promised he's coming back, and everybody's wondered if it's true. Some
[5:59] people say it's impossible, So you might as well eat and live and drink
[6:02] and be merry, for you might as well have fun today because today you
[6:05] might die, so he might as well have fun. There ain't no coming
[6:09] of Christ. It's a controversy about his promise that he's coming back. These
[6:15] are the greatest controversies in history. But I've come here to talk to you
[6:21] about why he's so controversial. I want to talk about what caused him to
[6:28] come, the reason why he had to come and die. First, I
[6:33] want to introduce to you what I call the curse of death. This is
[6:40] the ultimate result of disobedience. It's the rebellion of man against God that caused
[6:47] death, and God calls it sin. Write the words sin down, please.
[6:53] It's a very confusing word to some people. The words sin when it
[6:57] refers to Jesus is used a singular word. It very rarely says he died
[7:03] for our sins. It usually said in the scripture, he died for our
[7:09] sin. Is a singular word. Is singular in the Greek and Hebrew because
[7:15] he really died for only one sin, and that was the sin of rebellion
[7:21] against the known will of God. The word sin in the Hebrew language is
[7:28] the word rebellion. The word sin in the New Testament Greek is not only
[7:34] rebellion, but it also means to miss the mark. This is what man
[7:41] did. God pronounced the wages or the curse of death upon man. Let's
[7:53] read where death came from And the Lord God commanded the man Genesis, Chapter
[7:59] two, verse sixteen and eighteen. You may want to underline this in your
[8:01] Bible. It says, and the Lord God commanded the man these words quote.
[8:07] You are free to eat from every tree in the garden, but you
[8:15] must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, for
[8:20] the day when you eat from this tree, you will surely die. Everybody,
[8:28] say die. Say it loud. This is the first time in the
[8:33] Bible the word shows up. It's introduced not by Satan, but by God.
[8:39] And this word is an invention of God. God created death, sat
[8:48] of with me. God created death. Say it loud. God created death.
[8:54] I thought death was created by Satan, but that is not so.
[9:00] In this chapter. There is no Satan. There is no devil, no
[9:03] demons, no darkness. But in this chapter this God and God is talking
[9:09] to who man and God says to man, the day you eat, you
[9:13] will surely die. Die is introduced by God. So death is something God
[9:22] created and he introduces it to Adam. However, when God introduced death to
[9:30] Adam, that couple of things about death that's a problem. God treated death,
[9:37] told Adam about it, and then he told Adam, death has no
[9:43] power. This is Adam, this is the tree, and this is death.
[9:52] And God says Adam, as long as you don't touch that tree,
[9:56] debt can't kill you. But if you eat from that tree, if you
[10:01] disobey my commandments, my word, if you break my word, then that
[10:05] thing that I made that has no power will suddenly come alive and he'll kill
[10:11] you. In other words, death existed before it killed. Can you write
[10:16] that down? Please? Death had no power to kill. Death was present,
[10:22] but it couldn't kill Adam as long as Adam did not disobey God.
[10:26] What an awesome formula. God created death without power, and the only way
[10:33] Debt could get power to kill was from Adam, who would disobey God.
[10:41] So as long as Adam obeyed God, death was helpless, hopeless, powerless,
[10:46] and dead. I would like to say that death was created dead.
[10:52] Can you write that down? Death was created dead. It had no life,
[10:58] It couldn't kill the man, and it was there, but it had
[11:01] no what power? Hey, boys say power? Everybody say life. Death
[11:05] had no power and no life. In other ways, death, it's good
[11:13] when it ain't got no power. Oh, I'm gonna say it again.
[11:20] God created everything, and when God was finished, including death, God says,
[11:28] this is good. What's so good about death when it ain't got no
[11:31] power? What's so good about debt? It can't kill you. The most
[11:39] horrific nightmare death could ever have is to be able to kill. Death was
[11:48] created not to kill, and that's when it's in this good state. Debt,
[11:56] when it is given power, is abnormal. Let's get a little deep
[12:05] forgive me Lord two over the heads. Death cannot kill without permission, and
[12:16] when death kills, it is abnormal. Death in its normal state has no
[12:22] power to kill. Let us talk about what death is. Adam did disobey
[12:35] God, and God pronounced the curse of fron Adam. What was the curse
[12:39] of fron Adam? It was the curse that God told him. The day
[12:43] you eat from this tree, you will watch say it loud, say it
[12:48] on a good Friday. The day you eat from this tree, he says,
[12:52] you will surely die. Now. The ways Adam, I swear you
[12:56] will die surely means I will make sure. Now. I want you to
[13:03] understand that this word surely is God's taking responsibility to make sure that death does
[13:16] its job. If Adam's sin in other words, if you break my law,
[13:20] Adam, I have to personally make sure that you die. What is
[13:30] death? I want you to define it, and I think we need to
[13:33] know what death is. Death is a trifold experience. There are three parts
[13:39] to death. It's good to write them down. Number one, death is
[13:43] the departure of the Holy Spirit from the spirit of man. That's one level
[13:46] of death. It's the most dangerous level of death. Number two, death
[13:52] is the departure of man from the presence of God. Number three, death
[14:03] is the departure of man's spirit from his physical body. So we have three
[14:11] aspects called death. Death is when the Holy Spirit left man's spirit. Death
[14:20] is when man is driven from the presence of God. And death is when
[14:28] man eventually leaves his body because his body is rotting under the stain of sin.
[14:39] Can I suggest to you, according to the Word of God, that
[14:43] the first level of death is the one God is really concerned about. But
[14:48] death is progressive. First, when Adam sinned, the Bible says the day
[14:54] you eat, you will surely die. Everybody say the day say it again.
[14:58] He says, the day you eat, you would surely die. That
[15:01] means the day Adam and Eve picked that fruit and break God's word. According
[15:07] to God, they died the very day. That means then that if Adam
[15:13] lived, according to the Bible, nine hundred and thirty years after he picked
[15:20] the fruit, then according to God, physical dying is not real dead.
[15:30] The day Adam ate, he died, but he lived physically nine hundred and
[15:35] thirty years according to the Bible, a record of his life. In other
[15:39] words, Adam was a dead living man. What does God mean? That
[15:48] means the moment Adam sinned, proke God's word, rebel against God, missed
[15:52] the mark, the Holy Spirit left Adam's spirit, and Adam became dead.
[15:58] To God. A man without the Holy Spirit is a dead man. He
[16:03] has a three piece suit, she's wearing a Georgie a dress. He got
[16:07] all kind of Calvin Klein closed, but he's dead, a well dressed dead
[16:12] man. The athlete that wins the Olympic gold medal without the Holy Ghost is
[16:18] a dead athlete to God. The beauty queen after contests is a dead queen
[16:26] to God with a crown. In other words, it doesn't matter what you
[16:30] accomplish. It doesn't matter what you achieve. If you don't have the Holy
[16:34] Spirit inside of your life, you are a successful dead Adam was dead the
[16:42] day he died before God when the Holy Spirit left, and yet he lived
[16:48] nine hundred and thirty years, and the Bible says he had children. Dead
[16:52] people do have children. The only problem is the Bible says in chapter five
[16:57] he produced after his own kind, which means dead people produce dead people,
[17:03] who produce dead people, who produce dead people. Your newborn baby is dead
[17:11] to God. The ultimate aspect of death, then is a departure of the
[17:21] Holy Spirit of God. For this is the eternal death. Red and Holy
[17:26] Spirit left debt was made alive. Now let me say some things about how
[17:33] death was born. Death was never God's will for mankind. Don't ever think
[17:41] that God preaded mind to kill him. God told Adam death is present,
[17:47] but it has no power. So dead to Adam was a choice. God
[17:55] did not kill Adam. Death killed him. Death did not choose to kill
[18:04] Adam. Adam chose to be killed by death. God told Adam, death
[18:12] is present, has no power. It's up to you if you disobey my
[18:18] word that death that has no power will suddenly be given life, and death
[18:22] will kill you with the life it got from your disobedience. Therefore, death
[18:29] was given birth when Adam disobeyed God. Death was created by God and it
[18:37] had no life at all. Dead was given power by the disobedience of man.
[18:41] And therefore, the most important point I want to remember is that death
[18:47] was created by God without life. I'm so excited about what I understand.
[18:56] I wept this morning, probably more than all of you because of this teaching
[19:00] that I understand. I understood when the son of God walked up to three
[19:07] keys this morning. Some of you got excited about the songs you remember,
[19:11] But to me, I understood what the father God with the crown on was
[19:17] saying to his son. I have put death back to sleep. One of
[19:30] the greatest mysteries is the life that death has. Let's talk about it real
[19:36] quick. Man's sin gave life and power to death. Let's read what the
[19:41] Bible says. Yeah, Romans five, priests, write this down and then
[19:44] read it with me. Romans Chapter five, verse twelve says, Therefore,
[19:48] just as sin entered into the world, death by sin was passed upon all
[19:56] men. It's a very powerful statement, and I want to I want to
[20:07] re emphasize this to you. It says in verse thirteen, for before the
[20:14] law was given, sin was in the world, but sin is not taken
[20:17] into account where there is no law. Nevertheless, debt reigned from the time
[20:22] of Adam to the time of Moses, even over those who did not sin
[20:29] by breaking a command, as did Adam, who was a pattern of the
[20:33] one to come. I'm gonna read verse twelve, Romans five, Verse twelve
[20:37] underline at police. It says, therefore, just as sin entered the world
[20:44] through one man's disobedience, and death came through that sin, and in this
[20:51] way, death came to all men because all men were sinned. Very interesting
[20:57] statement here. Now, I want you to note something in this verse,
[21:04] and I hope I can get this up there. They got me switched off.
[21:08] Can I have that on for a moment, please? I want to
[21:11] They gotta switch that. I want to to show you a statement here in
[21:17] this verse. Look at your Bible for a minute. What does it say,
[21:19] board deett? What does it say, boardette? Do you see it?
[21:22] It didn't say man, board debt? Did it? It says man
[21:26] sinned? But it says dead came through what Dad came through what sin.
[21:33] Don't read the Bible too fast, It's very correct. The Bible is meticulously
[21:40] correct. The Bible says Dad came through sin. In other words, Dad
[21:48] did not come through the man. It came through the act of the man.
[21:56] Oh help me, Lord, please write this down. Death is a
[22:02] product of sin. What is sin rebellion against God? In other words,
[22:07] death, God is life when man disobeyed God. So in order for God
[22:15] to get rid of death, all he gotta do is get rid of God.
[22:19] Of man, but of sin. Do you see the difference. The
[22:25] man did not cause debt. Sin caused death, but the man caused sin.
[22:36] So in order for God to solve death, he has to solve sin.
[22:41] And if God can solve sin, then he can solve debt. And
[22:45] that is why man had to die. Let me give you some reasons why
[22:49] we had to die. Number one very important reasons, because God is holy.
[22:55] Number two because God is faithful. Number three because God, God must
[23:00] keep his word. Number four because God cannot lie. Number five because God
[23:07] must fulfill his promise. And number six because God cannot ignore his word.
[23:12] These are the reasons why man had to die. First, let me deep
[23:19] it the first one. For a second, man had to die because God
[23:22] is holy. The word holy means pure in motive. It also means integrated,
[23:30] or to be one with yourself. Holy means what you say and what
[23:33] you do are one. Holy means that you are not schizophrenic. Holy means
[23:37] that you don't say one thing and do another. Holy means whatever you say,
[23:41] you do, whatever you do, it's what you said. They are
[23:44] one. Holy therefore means to be integrated, ought to have integrity. God
[23:51] cannot say one thing and then change his mind. This is very important.
[23:57] So when God told Adam, the day you eat, you will surely die.
[24:02] When God said that, God had to make sure it happened because what
[24:07] he says and what he does is the same. Secondly, God had to
[24:14] make sure man die because he's faithful. God is faithful to himself. Hebrews
[24:21] chapter eight says, even if you fail me, says the Lord, I
[24:23] must be faithful still, for I cannot fail myself. In other words,
[24:27] God has to be faithful to what he says. God made sure we died
[24:33] to make sure that he doesn't lie. And I leading to the next one,
[24:37] because God cannot lie. He has to kill man. Lord have mercy,
[24:42] or make sure dead does. God says, Adam, I told you
[24:48] you will die if you disobey me. You will disobey me. Now I
[24:52] cannot lie. I must make sure you die. That's why God couldn't stop
[24:56] Adam from dying, because God had to be faithful to himself. The killing
[25:02] of Man was the faithfulness of God in action. Here's a strange statement.
[25:07] God had to make sure Man die because you had to keep his own promise.
[25:14] You know, we liked the promise of God. Or he promised to
[25:15] bless me, promised to save me, promised to be promisper me. But
[25:19] he also promised to kill you. Gods, Adam, I make your promise.
[25:23] You picked this fruit, you're dead. That's a promise, just like
[25:26] any other promise. So when Adam failed, I'm seeing God says, I'm
[25:30] going to fulfill my promise. Kill him dead and death care of the job.
[25:33] Holdly, spirit left. Man's body was ripped apart. Man died physically,
[25:38] and he died from the presence of God. He was ticked out in
[25:41] the garden. God says, see, I told you, man, I'm
[25:42] being faithful of fulfilling my promise you're dead. But this is so critical.
[25:48] I want to read a scripture because God cannot ignore his word. That's why
[25:53] I'man had to die in the book of Psalm one thirty eight. Please write
[26:00] this down and read it somewhere. This is one of the most important scriptures
[26:03] in the Bible. It says, I will bow down towards your holy temple,
[26:07] O Lord, and I will praise your name for your love and your
[26:15] faithfulness, and for you who have exalted your word above your name. Hallelujah.
[26:26] You have exalted your word above everything, including yourself. All right,
[26:33] buddy, everybody look at me a moment. I gotta explain this. This
[26:36] is this is really why we got problems right now in the twenty fourth century.
[26:40] Because it is worse. God says, I have placed my word above
[26:48] my name. The Hebrew word for name is the same word as being.
[26:53] That's why in Hebrew, and you name something, it is the thing you
[26:56] name it. So when I'm Moses called God and says, can you tell
[27:03] me what your name is? God's answer had to be, I am my
[27:07] name because in Hebrew name means to be. In other ways, the thing
[27:14] is its name. So when God says, I have placed my word above
[27:21] my name. He's literally saying I've placed my word above myself. In other
[27:27] words, when I speak, I too have to be under my own word
[27:33] and do it. God will never speak a word that he himself must not
[27:41] obey. He placed his word above his name. That's why I'm gonna make
[27:47] a statement. You can write me a letter. If you're watching this on
[27:49] TVN and and Cornerstone and all the networks be on. You can write me
[27:53] a letter. We'll argue about it later, but I'll make a statement here.
[27:57] It is God is sovereign until he speaks. Only the wise will understand
[28:07] that. We say God is sovereign. That's true. As long as he
[28:11] doesn't talk, you ain't gonna get it. As soon as God speaks,
[28:21] he ceased being sovereign to that word, because that word then becomes his regulator.
[28:32] That's why God says, I will move heaven on earth if I have
[28:37] to before one letter of my word doesn't come to pass. He says,
[28:44] my word is established for how long forever. That means that when God told
[28:53] Adam, the day you eat, you will surely die. God was setting
[29:00] up a system of authority which says, if you disobey me, you give
[29:08] life to death. And because I cannot break my word, death will have
[29:15] to kill you. Adam, and all of your descendants that you're carrying,
[29:18] be ready just now. In the Book of Romans, chapter five, it
[29:21] says, through one man's sin, death came into the world, and debt
[29:26] was passed upon all he was carrying in his loins. All of us came
[29:30] out of Adam's loins. And when Adam's sin, it gave power to death,
[29:34] and death came upon Adam and all he was carrying. And that's why
[29:38] the graveyards are filled with dead people. And that's why you have to die
[29:42] physically, and that's why you will have to go to the grave. Because
[29:47] God has to keep his word. Oh but I'm excited about today. Everybody
[29:56] says something had to die. Say it loud. Hit somebody and tell him
[30:02] something had to die. Come on, hit him again and say something had
[30:06] to die. Hit him and say Happy Easter. Something had to die.
[30:11] Tell your neighbor good Friday? Was necessary? Why was it necessary? Because
[30:17] God cannot lie something? Oh Jesus, something had to die. God had
[30:26] to kill something to keep his word. Because God's word is above his own
[30:36] name. Why because death was necessary, Because the God's word, death was
[30:45] the natural result and the fulfillment of God's promise. Death could only be justified
[30:52] by death. I'm gonna shout by myself here now, you gotta hang with
[30:55] me for a few more minutes, because this point is important. Death can
[31:00] only be justified by death in our production. A moment ago, some of
[31:06] you missed that statement. I heard it. It pumped out at me.
[31:10] I said, there it is. When the son and the father were talking
[31:15] in the secret meeting, the father says, you will justify them. Everybody
[31:23] say justify. Let me tell you something, friends, justify a judge hands
[31:32] of judgment. Judgment is giving something what it rightfully deserves. I'm talking to
[31:45] you. When you go to the courtroom, the judge in that black robe,
[31:51] sitting behind that bench is there for one reason. He's there to study
[31:56] your rights. He's supposed to know them, and he needs to know whether
[32:01] you deserve them based on the law. And no matter what the lawyers do,
[32:07] if the judge in the end believes that your rights are being violated,
[32:15] the lawyers don't count no more. The judge can let you go free.
[32:19] Once you got your rights now when God told out him the day you eat,
[32:25] you will surely die. Who was God given rights to thank you?
[32:31] He was giving rights to death. He was telling debt, you got a
[32:35] right to kill him if he disobeys me an otherwise, debt can judge.
[32:45] That's why every sinner death can kill, because sin gives debt the right to
[32:52] kill. That's why the only way friend listen to me. People, I
[32:57] beg you, the only way to avoid death is to get rid of sin
[33:02] in your life. I think the question then, of the other religions that
[33:08] you have heard about, Buddhism, Islam, all kinds of Confucianism, and
[33:15] Hinduism, scientology, all the other books. Everybody got a good religion,
[33:21] But the question is what do they do with sin? A good book or
[33:28] philosophy and values and models does not get rid of rid of sin? Are
[33:32] caught it? You know? I was thinking, I have some some associations
[33:37] who are Muslims, and most of them are now believers, But before they
[33:44] got converted, I was intrigued to find out. When I read the Koran,
[33:47] I got a copy in my office. When I read the Koran,
[33:51] I was deeply impressed at the Koran. Half of the Koran is the Old
[33:55] Testament. Did y'all know that? As did you know that? No,
[34:00] you don't know that. Okay, So the Muslims key the TV on Islam.
[34:05] The Muslims have the chlorin the Bible. Their Bible, half of it
[34:10] is the Old Testament. In it, they got Genesis, Excellus, Leviticus,
[34:15] Numbers, Deuteronomy, Joshua, Judges, route Samuel. They got him
[34:20] all in their Bible. Not a problem is in the Book of Leviticus.
[34:23] In their Bible, it says in verse twenty one. Without the shedding of
[34:27] blood in their Koran, there's no remission of sin. I respect Mohammed,
[34:40] the guy accomplished your lot. He's done a great job in spreading his philosophy
[34:49] around the world and influenced millions. I appreciate a man who are the kind
[34:53] of leadership and charisma to sway the world and his generation to the point where
[34:59] they after influencing even the world after his death. I appreciate Mohammed. He's
[35:04] a great man. The only problem is there's no blood in this thing.
[35:20] The Mormon Church, yes, the moments, believed that Jesus was a prophet.
[35:30] One of the sons of God. They also believe. Keep the TV
[35:37] on. Please that Lucifer was also one of God's sons, and that Lucifer
[35:42] and Jesus were brothers. This is in the Mormon scriptures. What do they
[35:54] do with blood? If he's not the son of God, if he's not
[36:01] redeemer, how do you get rid of death? Death is only justified by
[36:14] death. You can only satisfy death by death. Yea, my lord.
[36:25] On this stage this morning, oh I felt like screaming, but I was
[36:29] weeping too much. Thank you, Sister Kailler. On this stage this morning,
[36:35] was a man in chains going to the electric chair. Why the judge
[36:45] gave him the justice? Based on the law. The judge said, based
[36:52] on the law, the state has a right to kill you. M So
[37:00] we led him to the electric chair. He sat in it, and he
[37:06] did not repent. He didn't recant, and death was about to justify itself.
[37:17] But somebody walked up. Talk to me. Now. The person who
[37:22] walked up could not tell the state don't kill anybody. Okay. See,
[37:29] mercy is not ignoring justice. Oh you gotta get this God, don't wink
[37:37] at your sin. Somebody canna pay for it. Christ couldn't tell the judge
[37:45] have mercy upon him, let him go free. He rightfully deserved death.
[37:52] It was a right of the state to kill him. And so the man
[37:57] who walked in that chamber had to say, put me in his place,
[38:07] because death must be fulfilled. Good Friday is not an option, it's a
[38:17] necessity. This is not something that we supposed to take lightly. Every person
[38:23] in the world, atheist, pagan, heathen, unbeliever, I supposed to
[38:28] stop for a moment and say to themselves, my God, somebody gotta do
[38:32] something about me. I got good news. Somebody did. If you notice,
[38:45] God promised Satan in the same chapter he promised him of death that would
[38:50] solve the problem. You want to hear the words. It's found in Genesis
[38:52] chapter three, verse fifteen, and the Lord God said unto Satan. Boy
[38:59] like God, you know he's all was on time. He says, the
[39:01] woman shall have a seed, and this seed shall be with enmity between you
[39:12] and him. Sanis is three fifteen. Watch this and he will crush your
[39:20] head. How when you bruise his heel? Okay, every boy, say
[39:28] heal? Everybody say head okay. The word heal in the Hebrew is an
[39:35] idiom. It has to do with the cord of life. You know,
[39:44] when the baby was born in the Old Testament and the doctor took the baby
[39:50] or I guess no, they the midwives nor doctors. When the baby came.
[39:53] The way they held the baby is by the heel. They pulled the
[40:00] baby out and then they would hold him by the heel, and based on
[40:07] how the baby responded, they would say he got life. In other ways,
[40:13] the heel was the sign of life. If the heel did not bring
[40:16] a reaction, it was a sign the baby was dead. If I was
[40:22] to cut your heel tendon, you couldn't walk. This piece of flat behind
[40:29] your heel is so powerful. If I was to slice it, you would
[40:34] lose all ability to walk. It holds up your life, God says Satan.
[40:42] He will crush your head. Head represents authority. But you would bruise
[40:46] his heel that represents life. In otherwise, when you bruise him, he
[40:52] gonna crush you. Oh, you ain't got the message. When he put
[40:55] his heel on you, when he put his death down, his debt will
[41:01] destroy your power. Let me show you something that is very interesting about power.
[41:13] Roman sixth eight says, Now, if we died with Christ, we
[41:16] believe that we will also live with him, for we know that since Christ
[41:21] was raised from the dead, he cannot die again. Death no longer has
[41:27] mastery over him. The death he died, he died to sin once and
[41:32] for all. Please notice the words sin is singular. But the life he
[41:37] lives he lives to God. The death he died he died unto sin.
[41:43] But the life he lives he lives unto God. Hebrews too, I love
[41:46] it verse eight. But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower
[41:51] than the angels. Now he is crowned with glory and honor. Why because
[41:57] he suffered debt so that, by the grace of God, he might taste
[42:02] debt for every one of you. In other words, somebody gotta die,
[42:10] something, have to die, God gotta kill something. Oh hallelujah, it
[42:15] says, and he decided to taste it, to experience it for everyone.
[42:21] Underlying the words that he might taste debt for everyone, that means six point
[42:28] two billion people on Earth today and not on one of them have to go
[42:32] to hell because he's already tasted debt. For the Buddhists, for the Anglican,
[42:37] for the Baptists, for the Pentecostal, for the Charismatic. He tasted
[42:42] death for the white and the black, and the yellow, and the old
[42:45] and the young. He tasted debt for the islam and the Hindu. He
[42:50] tastes debt for everybody. Everybody has already been paid for. Going to hell.
[42:57] Then is a stupid choice. Can I take you a step further?
[43:05] This sting of death? You know? In First Corinthian's Chapter fifteen, verse
[43:10] fifty six, we find these words, this thing of death is what sin,
[43:15] and the power of sin is the law. But thanks be to God,
[43:20] he gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. In other words,
[43:23] God's solution to death is found in the same chapter where the problem of
[43:29] death was born. His solution was the promise of a seed that would destroy
[43:34] the power of death. What is the power of death? That's the question
[43:38] we had. According to the word of God, the power of death is
[43:42] sin, and the source of sin is rebellion, which is found in the
[43:47] heart of Satan. The Bible says Christ came to destroy him who had the
[43:52] power of death, who had it the rebellion one He gave man the spirit
[43:57] of rebellion as well, and man also of tain the power of death.
[44:01] And therefore man became a victim of death because of the sin that he committed
[44:07] of rebellion against God. Let me give you seven reasons why Jesus had to
[44:15] die. Number one, substitution. He had to die because something had to
[44:23] die. Number two the flesh. Some of you may wonder why did God
[44:31] have to become a man in order for him to save man? Well,
[44:38] this second one is important. The third one he had to die because God
[44:47] needed blood, because spirit has no blood. I want to explain this for
[44:57] two seconds. Everybody say death. Say it again. Now. The problem
[45:04] with being a spirit is that you cannot die. Man doesn't have a spirit.
[45:10] He is a spirit, so man really never dies. That is why
[45:17] if you die without knowing Christ, you still live forever. The only problem
[45:23] is the Bible calls it eternal death because you're a spirit. If you die
[45:30] in Christ, you are raised by Him and you live forever. But it
[45:35] is called eternal life. I don't want you to think and listen carefully if
[45:40] you here this morning, because it's Eastern listen, I don't want you to
[45:46] think for once that when you die without Jesus, without Christ in your life,
[45:53] that you go to the grave, no problem. And then the judgment
[45:57] day comes, no problem, and you stand before God, no problem,
[46:01] and God judges you, no problem. And then God sends you into eternal
[46:07] into suffering, no problem. I don't want here to think that you're gonna
[46:10] burn up. That's the problem. You ain't gonna burn up because you are
[46:21] a spirit. Jesus said that when you are casting the hell, he says,
[46:24] the fire never quenches, and the worm diet not and there's nothing of
[46:35] tea forever. How would you like to burn? And can burn eternal death
[46:50] so you can die? Oh, listen to me. You can't die as
[46:57] a spirit, but God needed death. What are the three kinds of death?
[47:05] You remember them? What holy spirit leaving you? What else? You
[47:12] leaving the brothers of God? What else? And your spirit leaving your body?
[47:15] Now stay with me for a few moments. What's this? Ha?
[47:22] God says, okay, Satan. In order for me to solve this problem,
[47:27] I have to get out of the spirit world because I can't die.
[47:32] So I gotta come into the woman. She's gonna provide a body for me
[47:36] through a seed. I'll become a candidate for death, and I'm gonna die
[47:44] three ways. Listen, how did he die? Well? First, Oh,
[47:53] good Friday, it's a good Friday. I'm so excited about Good Friday.
[48:00] On Good Friday, Christ on the Cross. The day before they arrested
[48:07] him. That night, he was praying and he said, Father, is
[48:13] there any other way to do this? Let this cup? The word cup
[48:22] means price, redemptive, price, pass from me. Let's do it another
[48:29] way. But the father never answered why, Because you can't avoid death if
[48:34] you're gonna pay debt. So he says, not my will, but thine
[48:39] be done. He went to the cross. Watch this. They put nails
[48:43] in his wrists, nails and his ankles, and they stripped him, whipped
[48:50] him, and he's hanging on the cross now. In order to be a
[48:55] substitute, he has to experience the ex zack death that you experience. So
[49:05] first he has to die by the Holy Spirit leaving him. He must die
[49:12] by being from the presence of God, and he must die by his spirit
[49:16] leaving his body. Let's see if he did it on the cross. Jesus
[49:23] begins to talk, and he talks his way through each death. You missed
[49:29] it. First, he said, Father, why have you forsaken? Now?
[49:37] You see, for one brief moment God left God. Oh he had
[49:47] never felt what it felt like to be away from Father. He felt he
[49:57] taste it. Everybody said taste See. He couldn't have lived that. That
[50:00] was too much for him. So he just tasted it for three days.
[50:07] He says, Father, who are you? This is terrible. The Bible
[50:15] says, he screamed out. You don't understand. When you are out of
[50:22] Eden, you malfunction. When you out of God's presence, you go crazy.
[50:29] You kill your mother, shoot your children, rape your mama, You
[50:32] do dumb things. That's why we got crying. Crying is man out of
[50:37] God's presence? And Christ tasted it for one moment, and then the Bible
[50:49] says he cried out, I thirst. And they tried to give him a
[50:57] mixture that they was that they used to kill pain. The Bible says he
[51:01] refused it. In other words, they tried to give him a pain killer
[51:07] made of hisself and some drinks that they used to use to kill pain.
[51:12] It was a pain killer, but he refused it. Why because he had
[51:15] to carry your pain? Oh, come on, somebody, that's why if
[51:21] you sick and hurting today, you can take this message and say, God,
[51:24] this pain is not legal. The pain you feel in your body has
[51:34] no rights because Jesus took the rights of that pain away by taking the pain
[51:43] for you. Lift your hands and thank God you could be healed to day
[51:46] because he took away your pain. If he had taken that pain killer,
[51:52] you would have had a right to keep your pain. And then the Bible
[51:58] says he gave up the ghost wow, which means what he gave up the
[52:07] holy ghosts. That means to lose the holy ghosts, my God. Then
[52:17] the Bible says, and he bowed his head and died. Okay, listen,
[52:25] you missed it. He didn't read it carefully. No, you didn't
[52:30] listen. First, your forsake me present's gone. Secondly, gave hup the
[52:37] ghosts. Ghost gone, but he's still there. Then it says he bowed
[52:45] his head. Now he leaving the body. He died completely, not for
[52:54] himself, and that's why you have to give your life to Jesus. This
[53:00] ain't no game for you to play around with. He substituted himself, paid
[53:07] debt, it's due, and that's why the blood is important because the body
[53:14] had blood. Spirits saying, God no blood. So he had to become
[53:16] a man with blood because without the blood, there's no admission of sin.
[53:21] And life and death is in the blood. Saved me. Life and death
[53:25] is in where the blood, the Bible says. So if you want death,
[53:30] it's in the blood. If you want life, it's in the blood.
[53:36] Spirits have no blood, so Christ had to have Jesus to supply the
[53:43] blood. That's why we worshiped Jesus. You know that we don't worship Jesus
[53:49] to try to make him a god. He is God. He's the body
[53:52] of God. Hallelujah. He is the vessel in which God live to carry
[53:57] out the blood sacrifice. That's why Jesus said, this comp is the blood
[54:01] of my covenant with you. Drink it. Spirits have no blood, but
[54:07] he came to provide it through Jesus. Fourthly, he died because sin had
[54:14] to be paid for. He died because he had to be made sin.
[54:22] Only by having sin trust upon him, sin could initiate death. So Christ
[54:30] needed sin. Where did he get his sin from. Thirdly, he had
[54:38] to die because he must be resurrected. You can't resurrect, resurrect living things.
[54:46] You only resurrect dead things. And the sixth reason we had to die
[54:52] was to justify us. That means he had to satisfy the demands of righteousness.
[54:58] And then seventh he had to die to destroy the power of death,
[55:01] to put debt back to sleep, to tell death you got no more right
[55:06] to be alive. Dead dies when it kills. Say that with me.
[55:10] Death dies when it kills. Say it again. Dead dies. Do you
[55:15] know I went to my mother's funeral. I'm standing there looking at my mother's
[55:20] body, and I said, for one brief moment to myself, thank God
[55:28] she's dead, because I remember visiting my mother a few days before she died,
[55:36] and she was in the bed in pain and I couldn't do anything to
[55:42] help her. I was praying, believe in God, but she was in
[55:47] pain, and I said, Oh God, to live on my mama from
[55:54] this pain. That's my prayer. And the words if all Roberts came back
[56:00] to me, I'll never forget. He said, the ultimate healing is death,
[56:10] because when you get healed by death, you can't get sick no more.
[56:22] Let me tell you something. Death is a blessing. Beautiful in the
[56:30] eyes of the Lord is the death of a saint? Why because Dad ain't
[56:36] got no power. Hallelujah. When dead kills it loses its power. Once
[56:47] dead kills something, it can't kill it no more. Oh help me now,
[56:53] So if God can just get dead to kill something that can't kill no
[57:00] Ah? Do you understand? So good, says death. If I get
[57:10] you to kill me, you can't kill them. Y'all don't get the message
[57:15] yet. He said, Look, you gotta kill something. Death. I
[57:17] know, because that's my word. I gave you that power. But if
[57:22] you kill me now, you gotta kill something. Oh hallelujah. Death.
[57:30] Uh, your job is killing. So once you kill something, you got
[57:40] no more power. And that's why death has death. He Brews two fourteen
[57:53] says, since the children have flesh and blood, he too in their humanity,
[58:00] so that by his death, so that by his death, so that
[58:06] by his death he might destroy him who holds the power of death, that
[58:13] is the devil, and thereby freeing us who all our lives were held in
[58:20] slavery by our fear of death. Wow, do you know why we're afraid
[58:27] to die? Because we're afraid we are never coming back. Come on,
[58:30] y'all talk to me for close now, he said. But there's a guy
[58:35] named Jesus who took on our humanity, shared flesh and blood, and by
[58:43] his death he destroyed the power that death had. Watch this so that he
[58:52] may free you and I who all our lives, who are afraid scared of
[59:00] death. We tell you something, friends, I'm not afraid of death anymore.
[59:06] I am not afraid of death anymore. I will see you again,
[59:12] guaranteed, one hundred percent, audaciously, emphatically, proudly, without hesitation.
[59:21] I will see thee again. Why because death have no right to keep me
[59:29] in the grave. Or come on, praise the Lord somebody. That's why
[59:37] you should live every day with passion, without fear, pursuing God's will for
[59:45] your life. And I mean live hard, do things good but excellence,
[59:50] work with all your might, do it with all your work hard. Why
[59:52] don't worry about debt. Whether you live or you die, you win because
[1:00:05] of who Jesus. He paid the price he made dead powerless. Let me
[1:00:12] tell you something, friends. At the last home going here, I preached
[1:00:15] the message and people ain't quite get it. Sometimes, you know, I
[1:00:20] just think God, you give me too much. And I was telling them,
[1:00:24] you know who, death is ashamed of itself because death cannot kill you.
[1:00:42] You. Lazarus is dead. That was a message. Christ says,
[1:00:53] he's asleep. Now some of you don't think he was joking. Okay,
[1:01:00] I was taught in Sunday school growing up in the church that that meant that
[1:01:05] Jesus had planned to raise him. But when I studied as an adult with
[1:01:13] the knowledge and the skills of Grandma and Greek and Aramaic, when you read
[1:01:19] the passage, the words he used in his mind, the words he used
[1:01:23] meant that he didn't plan to raise Lazarus. He was telling them the truth.
[1:01:28] That guy is asleep. Why because dead can't kill him, death beak,
[1:01:37] he said, Because I am in the earth. Hallelujah. Anybody who
[1:01:44] dies now dead for him to sleep? Why because you believe in me.
[1:01:50] Mary, Now, if you believe that I am the Christ, the Son
[1:01:58] of God, then your brother shall live again, he says. If you
[1:02:04] believe, watch this, he said. Didn't want to raise him. She
[1:02:08] said, I believe he will come back in the last day crisis crisis,
[1:02:15] No, you don't understand. No matter what day it is, I am
[1:02:23] the resurrection. I am caring about in my body everything required to bring you
[1:02:32] back. I am the debt that Azras died. The only problem is I
[1:02:39] come to whip debt so last we could come back. Not assure you that
[1:02:45] I could get him now or later. Let's go get him now. Oh,
[1:02:51] come on, somebody, see sister Chara. You here today in our
[1:02:57] beloved brother Emmy. He he's sleeping. Don't panic, and Jesus says,
[1:03:05] woman, if you believe, you shall see your husband again. Now,
[1:03:14] he said, I can do it now or later. Now for my mother,
[1:03:19] he decide later, Maybe for your husband, your brother, your cousin,
[1:03:23] your mom or daddy. He said later for guess what later? Is
[1:03:28] sure hallelujah or show praise the lorfer his death. His death took away the
[1:03:37] power. Watch this. Therefore, in order verse fifteen, to destroy death,
[1:03:44] God must deal with sin. That's the seed of Christ. Coming to
[1:03:49] the world as a man made this possible. Dying was not only necessary but
[1:03:55] mandatory. Why Because God cannot lie, he must keep his word. The
[1:04:00] question then, is who killed Jesus? And I want to answer this question
[1:04:03] very clearly. Was it the Romans? Was it the Jews? Was it
[1:04:08] the soldiers or the gentiles. The Isa of fifty three says in verse four,
[1:04:13] surely he took our infirmities and carried our sorrows. Yet we considered him
[1:04:19] who was stricken by God, smitten by him, unafflicted, who killed Jesus
[1:04:26] and read it God did? Everybody said God killed himself? Say it again.
[1:04:34] It says God killed Jesus. You know, when John saw him coming
[1:04:39] down the beach and John was preaching, John stopped preaching, and John saw
[1:04:45] his cousin Jesus, and John says, look. The word look is the
[1:04:48] word behold in the old English. He says, look the lamb of God.
[1:04:56] Now why did he say that? Course, in those days altered the
[1:04:59] Old Testament. Everybody had their love. They had to bring their lamb for
[1:05:02] their sins. But he says, God has provided himself. My y'all talk
[1:05:11] to me. No more lambs for your children, your cousin, your uncle,
[1:05:15] your mamma. He said, no more lambs. God himself is bringing
[1:05:18] his own lamb to die for the sins of the world. Therefore this lamb
[1:05:25] shall die once and for all. It says, he was bruce peace for
[1:05:31] our transgressions. He was crushed up bruce Y Nickivites, and the punishment that
[1:05:38] brought us peace was upon him, and with his stripes. We are healed.
[1:05:43] Everybody say I'm healed. Liftennans and claim it right now. You got
[1:05:45] any problem with you? Tell him? I claim that in Jesus name.
[1:05:48] Oh, come on, talk to your body. Question what kills Jesus?
[1:05:56] Was it the hip, the nails, the crown, or the spear?
[1:05:59] The answer I fifty three, verse six. For we all, like sheep,
[1:06:02] have gone astray, each one turned to his own way. And the
[1:06:05] Lord and the Lord and the lord. And the Lord has laid on him.
[1:06:11] What the sins of us? All who laid him on him? The
[1:06:15] Lord would kill him, the wages of sin's death? Who put it on
[1:06:18] him? The Lord capital hel God himself put the sins of man on his
[1:06:24] son, and he died. The spirit didn't kill him, The nails didn't
[1:06:30] kill him. Nails can't kill. Sin kills and the Lord killed him.
[1:06:42] What was his goal in his death? Was it a martyr or a good
[1:06:46] prophet? I say, answers fifth his tent. Yet it was the Lord's
[1:06:53] will to crush him. Whose will the Lord's will to crush him to suffer,
[1:06:59] and to cause him to suffer the Lord's will for him to suffer and
[1:07:02] through and though the Lord makes his life a guilt offering, who made life
[1:07:06] a guilt offering? The Lord read the Bible carefully. It wasn't Pilot,
[1:07:12] it wasn't Cahyphus, It was the Lord. God will solven death. The
[1:07:18] Lord made him offering for us. He will see his offspring and prolong his
[1:07:26] days, and the will of the Lord will prosper in his hands. After
[1:07:30] God kills him. God killed him for you, I say, if for
[1:07:34] the three with the purpose of his death, it says in verse eleven,
[1:07:38] after the suffering of his soul, he will see the light of life that
[1:07:42] means a resurrection, and he will be satisfied. I like that word.
[1:07:45] By his knowledge, my righteous servant would justify many, and he will bear
[1:07:50] their iniquities. Therefore I will give him a portion among the great. He
[1:07:55] will be divided. He will divide the spoils, Oh Jesus, with the
[1:07:59] strong. Do you understand that it says when he goes to death, dies,
[1:08:06] he will see the light of day. He's gonna come back to life.
[1:08:10] And when he comes back to life, It says that he will divide
[1:08:14] the spoils with who the strong. Guess who they are, his brethren,
[1:08:20] that's you would meet. He gives us what he got. Some of the
[1:08:28] spoilers he got. We saw him this morning. There were three keys.
[1:08:32] Who do you share them with? The strong? His son's, his brethren.
[1:08:39] He gave you the key of death, Helen the grave. That means
[1:08:44] the world. Key means authority over something. You got a thirty over hell
[1:08:49] because you got authority over sin through his death. You got a thirty over
[1:08:54] the grave because you can't stay in the grave if you have him inside of
[1:08:58] your life. You got a thirty over debt because debt cannot keep you in
[1:09:02] the grave, because you got the key through his death and his resurrection.
[1:09:08] And therefore he shared his spoils with us that he gained through his debt,
[1:09:12] because he pollowed his life unto death and was numbered with the transgressist. The
[1:09:16] crisis of Cavalry then is simple, and that is the death of Jesus was
[1:09:20] not a suicide. He was not a modyrdom or a political rebel cause,
[1:09:26] but rather Isa from fifty three was very clear. It says for he bore
[1:09:30] the sins of the sin, sorry of many, and made into session for
[1:09:33] the transgressives. What a statement. These statements are important in our contemporary society
[1:09:42] because people are believing that Christ died as a martyr. Look at iaa godsis
[1:09:48] this man then dies? No matter he didn't die is no good cause rebel.
[1:09:54] He died to bear the sin of many, and he became intercession for
[1:10:00] the transgressives. His death was for you and for me. He died so
[1:10:06] if we wanted to die and sin, and that's why if we live,
[1:10:13] we live in victory over death. I close with this passion. First Corinthians
[1:10:17] fifteen, verse twenty says, but Christ has indeed been raised from the dead.
[1:10:23] He's the first foot of those who have fallen asleep. For since death
[1:10:27] came through man, the resurrection of the dead also came through a man.
[1:10:30] For as in Adam all die, so in Christ all would be made alive.
[1:10:35] But each in his own turn, Christ is the first sample fruit.
[1:10:40] And then when he comes, those who belong to him will come. Also
[1:10:44] verse twenty six, everybody say together the last enemy to be destroyed is dead.
[1:10:54] That doesn't mean he is going to destroy dead. It means the last
[1:11:00] enemy that you will whip is when you're on your dead bed. Man.
[1:11:08] I stopped. He said, Look, I gave you the authority to can
[1:11:17] send your party. Your party. All message said, get him, get
[1:11:20] him, get him, get him, let him kill you. You get
[1:11:23] him. Whop when he kill him, your vessel laughing and say ha ha,
[1:11:28] I'll come and by the last enemy. Oh, halleluia, pasta rich
[1:11:36] nor last men's. You supposed no last men's. You're supposed to beat all
[1:11:44] the others before you get to him. I got him right now. Hang
[1:11:47] on. That means poverty. God say, hip that one who depression,
[1:11:53] hipp that one who being broke, whip that one whop no house, hipp
[1:11:58] that one whop no car. All these enemies from he said, pimp the
[1:12:01] more and the last one. I want your whip. Y'all didn't get it,
[1:12:05] Hey get it. Didn't get it. You're supposed to be every enemy
[1:12:18] your mortgage payment. Don't wanna get paid. That's the enemy. God said,
[1:12:23] hmmen. Oh wow, I don't paid. Come on, man,
[1:12:30] you ain't suppossed to die. Oh and everybody you're supposed to die all bells
[1:12:38] paid. One more enemy left? Wow, you said, I ain't gotta
[1:12:45] day your business, don't want to work. God say with me, whop
[1:12:51] it way kid, the end way, kid, good gossip. Come on
[1:12:55] under the enemy when death comes to give with him, that's the last one.
[1:12:58] Who. Now you're all they showing yet because I ain't gonna tell your
[1:13:05] shower. You see all the enemies you got supposed to be whipped. Tell
[1:13:14] your there, whatever you're going through, whip it. Now. You aren't
[1:13:17] doing the right saying, oh, whipp it, hallelujhah. Tell your never
[1:13:23] that decide whatever you're facing, lick it and whip it. Praise God,
[1:13:29] give an all the hand he wants you to whip every enemy. Every enemy
[1:13:38] shall be whipped. We're gonna pick up here tonight with a fantastic movie that
[1:13:45] I picked myself. You saw some pieces of it, and they're gonna roll
[1:13:51] a little bit of down right now to show you what death looks like.
[1:13:55] Tell your neighbor if he died, I don't have to die. Gave him
[1:14:00] a praise offering. I tell you what he died. He paid the price
[1:14:08] save with me. Something had to die, and he did. And because
[1:14:13] he died, I can live. Also because I am free from the curse
[1:14:19] of debt. Stand up on your feet and scream it's good Friday. Go
[1:14:27] ahead and shouting, come on, praise his name. Lift your hands and
[1:14:33] thank him that he jumped in the way, and he took the boy for
[1:14:38] you. He's sign in the chair for you. He gave his life.
[1:14:41] You lift your hands and begin to thank him. Where you are, everybody
[1:14:45] young and old, young, hallelujah, worship it. We'll see. Thank
