[0:09] Speaker 1: You're listening to Crowning Ignorant Kings, a podcast for citizens
[0:14] Speaker 1: with like minds who love God, follow Christ, and have
[0:17] Speaker 1: a desire to be an ambassador for the Kingdom of
[0:21] Speaker 1: Heaven on Earth. We are John and Charlene Donaldson with
[0:25] Speaker 1: teachers building a Kingdom community. Thank you again for joining us.
[0:30] Speaker 1: Now let's adjust our crowns.
[0:37] Speaker 2: The goal of every human being should be to become
[0:42] Speaker 2: a leader. But how to become a leader is what's
[0:46] Speaker 2: so difficult. People don't know how to do it, and
[0:52] Speaker 2: especially those.
[0:53] Speaker 3: Who are from a.
[0:56] Speaker 2: History of a culture of oppression, it's very difficult. So
[1:02] Speaker 2: I want to talk about how to cultivate and develop
[1:06] Speaker 2: the leadership power in you, and how to also help
[1:10] Speaker 2: others experience that power. Leadership, as we learned in the
[1:15] Speaker 2: last few sessions that I did with you, is inherent
[1:18] Speaker 2: in every human being. Every human was born to be
[1:22] Speaker 2: a leader, but most of them will die as a follower.
[1:27] Speaker 2: And that's because they are born in a culture that
[1:31] Speaker 2: doesn't allow you to develop or discover your leadership ability.
[1:35] Speaker 2: And this is why many of us are still struggling
[1:38] Speaker 2: with even believing that that is possible.
[1:41] Speaker 3: So this is my philosophy.
[1:44] Speaker 2: Every human being was born to lead, but they must
[1:48] Speaker 2: become a leader. This statement implies a reality and a process.
[1:56] Speaker 2: The best way to describe the principle of this statement
[1:58] Speaker 2: is every scene eat. It was created to become a tree,
[2:03] Speaker 2: but it must become the tree. So there's a tree
[2:06] Speaker 2: trapped in every seed. But in order for the tree
[2:10] Speaker 2: to come out of the seed, the seed must submit
[2:13] Speaker 2: to a process, which means it must be put in
[2:17] Speaker 2: the soil. It must be given moisture, it must be
[2:20] Speaker 2: given nutrients from the soil, it must receive sunlight. So
[2:24] Speaker 2: then the tree begins to emerge. The same thing is
[2:27] Speaker 2: true about you. Inside of you is a leader God created,
[2:30] Speaker 2: but there must be a process that you submit to
[2:34] Speaker 2: to become that leader. And so people ask me, are
[2:37] Speaker 2: leaders born or are they made? The answer is both.
[2:43] Speaker 2: You are born a leader, but you must be made
[2:45] Speaker 2: into a leader through a process. And this is why
[2:49] Speaker 2: teaching on leadership is so important. So a title doesn't
[2:52] Speaker 2: make you a leader. So here's my philosophy. I call
[2:55] Speaker 2: it the original philosophy of leadership. First of all, this
[2:59] Speaker 2: is local principle. Trapped in every follower is a hidden leader.
[3:05] Speaker 2: Number two, every human being was created to lead, and
[3:09] Speaker 2: they were designed to dominate. You are wired to have dominion,
[3:12] Speaker 2: but not over people. So leadership potentia resides in every
[3:17] Speaker 2: human being. And that's because God created you to be
[3:21] Speaker 2: a dominating creature.
[3:22] Speaker 3: That leads to point number four.
[3:24] Speaker 2: You were born to lead, but you must become a leader,
[3:28] Speaker 2: and that's because true leadership is self manifestation. Is a
[3:33] Speaker 2: mango seed a mango tree? The answer is yes, But
[3:38] Speaker 2: in order for that mango seed to manifest.
[3:41] Speaker 3: The tree, it must go through a process.
[3:44] Speaker 2: So you could emphatically save it out any contradiction that
[3:48] Speaker 2: in every mango seed, there's.
[3:49] Speaker 3: A mango tree, no question about it.
[3:52] Speaker 2: The problem is it must be manifested at least be
[3:55] Speaker 2: the point number six, and that is the purpose for.
[3:58] Speaker 3: True leadership is to reduce leaders.
[4:02] Speaker 2: If you are a true leader, you will find that
[4:06] Speaker 2: your desire would be to help other people become leaders
[4:10] Speaker 2: and not make them followers. Many of the people we
[4:14] Speaker 2: call leaders they need followers, so they stop you from
[4:19] Speaker 2: becoming like them, or they prevent you from progressing because
[4:22] Speaker 2: they are suffering from what I call inferiority complex.
[4:26] Speaker 3: But a true leader.
[4:27] Speaker 2: Has the passion to make other people great. They want
[4:32] Speaker 2: other people to succeed. And the reason why is because
[4:36] Speaker 2: they feel so secure in themselves that they know you
[4:40] Speaker 2: can compete with them, so your greatness doesn't threaten their
[4:45] Speaker 2: self esteem. They are so confident in who they are
[4:49] Speaker 2: that they are not afraid to make you.
[4:50] Speaker 3: Who you are.
[4:51] Speaker 2: That's what true leadership is about. It's about helping other
[4:54] Speaker 2: people to achieve greatness. Now that philosophy is very true biblically,
[4:58] Speaker 2: because I want to tell you about what true leadership
[5:02] Speaker 2: looks like.
[5:03] Speaker 3: First of all, true leadership is not control. It's actually service.
[5:12] Speaker 2: A true leader is not one who controls people, or
[5:14] Speaker 2: controls organizations, or controls departments.
[5:18] Speaker 3: But a true leader is one.
[5:18] Speaker 2: Who serves people, who serves organizations, who serve the world,
[5:24] Speaker 2: and it is that service that makes them great. That
[5:28] Speaker 2: means that leadership is not about power. It's about empowering
[5:32] Speaker 2: other people. It's about helping other people become great. If
[5:36] Speaker 2: you are placed in a position of leadership, you will
[5:40] Speaker 2: show your success by empowering other people to become them trueselves.
[5:47] Speaker 2: That leads to point number three. Leadership is not about manipulation.
[5:51] Speaker 2: It's about inspiration. True leaders don't manipulate people. They inspire people.
[5:58] Speaker 2: When you cannot inspire people, you must manipulate them. But
[6:04] Speaker 2: the problem is, once you manipulate them, you're no longer
[6:07] Speaker 2: a leader. You are suddenly a dictator. So true leaders
[6:12] Speaker 2: don't manipulate, they inspire people.
[6:14] Speaker 3: I mean, it's the point. Number four.
[6:16] Speaker 2: Leadership therefore, is not about controlling people. It's about finding
[6:20] Speaker 2: purpose for your life. Leaders are so consumed but pursuing
[6:23] Speaker 2: the purpose where they were born that they have no
[6:26] Speaker 2: time to oppress people. Leaders are generated by a sense
[6:31] Speaker 2: of purpose, not a sense of making people subjected to them.
[6:38] Speaker 2: So leadership really is about purpose more than it is
[6:41] Speaker 2: about people.
[6:43] Speaker 3: And we'll explain a minute how that works.
[6:44] Speaker 2: And number five, leadership is about becoming more than doing
[6:49] Speaker 2: a lot of people believe the leadership is about a
[6:52] Speaker 2: lot of activity, you know, But leadership has more to
[6:55] Speaker 2: do with discovering who you are and then deciding to
[6:58] Speaker 2: become it. It's like of seed discovering I am a
[7:01] Speaker 2: true and then they spend the rest of their lives
[7:04] Speaker 2: becoming that tree. Leadership therefore, has more to do with
[7:08] Speaker 2: self discovery and then self release. So leaders are always
[7:12] Speaker 2: in competition with themselves. They know who they really are
[7:20] Speaker 2: and they will never rest until they become it. So
[7:23] Speaker 2: a leader is someone who sees their end and then
[7:27] Speaker 2: decide to pursue it at all costs, even at the
[7:30] Speaker 2: risk of being misunderstood or being rejected, being criticized.
[7:37] Speaker 3: That's why true leaders.
[7:38] Speaker 2: Can handle high criticism. They're not pressured by popularity. They're
[7:46] Speaker 2: more concerned about being true to themselves than being true
[7:49] Speaker 2: to people. And this is why it's hard to find
[7:53] Speaker 2: true leaders because many people who claim to be leaders,
[7:57] Speaker 2: they have no conviction about themselves. And this is why
[8:01] Speaker 2: it's tough to really help people become leaders.
[8:06] Speaker 3: They are train not to trust themselves.
[8:10] Speaker 2: I went through this myself, and I'll show you some
[8:12] Speaker 2: of the processes that I went through in my own life. Okay,
[8:15] Speaker 2: here's my definition of leadership, one that I have crafted
[8:19] Speaker 2: over the last forty years. And it took me forty
[8:22] Speaker 2: years to write this one sentence. What is leadership?
[8:27] Speaker 3: Definition?
[8:28] Speaker 2: Leadership is a capacity to influence others through inspiration.
[8:33] Speaker 3: That inspiration is generated by.
[8:35] Speaker 2: A passion, which is motivated by a vision, birth by
[8:40] Speaker 2: a conviction produced by a purpose.
[8:42] Speaker 3: Long sentence. Every word is important. I'm going to read
[8:45] Speaker 3: it again. What is leadership?
[8:47] Speaker 2: Leadership is a capacity to influence other people through what.
[8:51] Speaker 2: Inspiration generated by what, a passion motivated by what a
[8:56] Speaker 2: vision produce, and birth by what a conviction and a
[8:59] Speaker 2: conviction comes from what your sense of purpose. So leaders
[9:04] Speaker 2: have all of these qualities in their lives. Each one
[9:08] Speaker 2: of these words are important because they describe a certain
[9:13] Speaker 2: attribute of leadership that has to be present for a
[9:17] Speaker 2: person to be defined as a leader. I have read
[9:23] Speaker 2: literally over two hundred books on leadership myself and still
[9:28] Speaker 2: reading them. Every month I buy a new book or
[9:32] Speaker 2: so on leadership, and I discovered in all the definitions
[9:35] Speaker 2: that no books satisfied my definition. So I created my own,
[9:39] Speaker 2: and now they're quoting me. Why was I not satisfied
[9:45] Speaker 2: Because I couldn't find a definition that was comprehensive enough
[9:50] Speaker 2: to include all the unique qualities that I discovered when
[9:54] Speaker 2: I studied great leaders like Jesus.
[9:57] Speaker 3: Christ or Moses.
[10:01] Speaker 2: Or Paul the Apostle, or some of our modern day
[10:04] Speaker 2: leaders like Martin Luther King Jr. Or mahamagandhy people who
[10:09] Speaker 2: like Mother Teresa Corey Tinboom, people who impacted their generation.
[10:15] Speaker 2: They all had these qualities, and you cannot become a
[10:20] Speaker 2: leader fully until you encompass all of these qualities. So
[10:26] Speaker 2: here's my recommendation. If you want to become an effective
[10:32] Speaker 2: generational leader, you have to turn this sentence upside down
[10:36] Speaker 2: and you start from the bottom. Here's why, because a
[10:40] Speaker 2: true leader never tries to be a leader. Leadership is
[10:46] Speaker 2: a result of a process and it starts at the bottom.
[10:52] Speaker 3: And this is why when people decide I'm going.
[10:53] Speaker 2: To be a leader, they never become a leader because
[10:56] Speaker 2: the average reality is that a true leader doesn't even
[11:01] Speaker 2: know when they become a leader.
[11:02] Speaker 3: People have to tell them.
[11:06] Speaker 2: Here's why. You staff from the bottom. First, they discover
[11:09] Speaker 2: a sense of purpose. Purpose is discovering an original reason
[11:13] Speaker 2: for your birth. You begin to discover that I was
[11:17] Speaker 2: not a mistake, I'm not a biological mishap. Now, this
[11:23] Speaker 2: has to happen to you personally. There has to be
[11:26] Speaker 2: a point somewhere in your life where you got a
[11:29] Speaker 2: revelation that I.
[11:30] Speaker 3: Was born to do something important.
[11:34] Speaker 2: You will never become a leader until that happens to
[11:36] Speaker 2: you somewhere in along the line in your life. There's
[11:39] Speaker 2: got to be an encounter with yourself and with your
[11:42] Speaker 2: creator which defines that you were born for a purpose.
[11:46] Speaker 3: There was an intent for your birth.
[11:50] Speaker 2: When a person discovers that, then the second experience kicks in,
[11:54] Speaker 2: and that is conviction. Everyboy's a conviction. All true leaders
[11:58] Speaker 2: have conviction. What is conviction? Write it down.
[12:01] Speaker 3: Conviction is a belief in your significance. Now what does
[12:06] Speaker 3: that mean?
[12:09] Speaker 2: When you discover your purpose, you automatically discover that you
[12:13] Speaker 2: are important to the world.
[12:16] Speaker 3: I know that.
[12:17] Speaker 2: Sounds almost unimaginable for you. Now I bought you by
[12:25] Speaker 2: the way, I need my Chinese books back, okay, but
[12:28] Speaker 2: I bought you this book.
[12:29] Speaker 3: For a reason.
[12:30] Speaker 2: The largest country in the world is China one point
[12:33] Speaker 2: three billion people. They are the most powerful economy and
[12:36] Speaker 2: emerging nation in the world. And I was born in
[12:41] Speaker 2: bain Town, in a wooden house in this island. My
[12:49] Speaker 2: books are one of the best selling books in China. Now,
[12:57] Speaker 2: could a Behaman be that important?
[13:00] Speaker 3: Me? Try another way.
[13:01] Speaker 2: Most of you doing business with China, you import from China.
[13:08] Speaker 3: I explore to China. You can get that afterwards.
[13:15] Speaker 2: Can a person become so important that the most powerfully
[13:18] Speaker 2: conomun the world imports their product? Now I must warn
[13:26] Speaker 2: you about number two though. When you encounter number two,
[13:30] Speaker 2: it is a spiritual experience, and this is the point
[13:33] Speaker 2: of a leader's life where they argue with God. All
[13:37] Speaker 2: of them argue with God, including Jesus.
[13:42] Speaker 3: There's this experience you go through.
[13:45] Speaker 2: I don't know if pastor the day venture that yet,
[13:46] Speaker 2: but that the experience you you will go through, Dave,
[13:49] Speaker 2: where you suddenly realize I am important to the world.
[13:55] Speaker 2: I have something they need. And that's hard to accept
[13:59] Speaker 2: because you have to believe in your own importance and
[14:05] Speaker 2: you've been conditioned to believe you are not important. My
[14:12] Speaker 2: culture taught me that I must not speak of myself
[14:17] Speaker 2: too much, and that I must not be proud, I
[14:24] Speaker 2: must not be so self confident. And our culture gravitates
[14:29] Speaker 2: against the idea that I am special, and they call
[14:34] Speaker 2: it selfishness. So psychologically deep in your mind, you are
[14:40] Speaker 2: conditioned not to believe you are significant as.
[14:44] Speaker 3: A matter of fact.
[14:45] Speaker 2: To prove it, you are so busy trying to fit
[14:47] Speaker 2: in you never stand out. We are driven to be
[14:54] Speaker 2: accepted instead of being exceptional, and.
[15:01] Speaker 3: You're battling this because this is our culture. So conviction.
[15:08] Speaker 2: Is when you discover I was born for a purpose
[15:14] Speaker 2: and the world needs my purpose. I hope you get
[15:18] Speaker 2: that in this class the next few weeks, somehow you
[15:22] Speaker 2: have a connection with who you are and why you are.
[15:28] Speaker 3: Conviction.
[15:29] Speaker 2: Now, I'm aa tell youble conviction, because conviction will always
[15:33] Speaker 2: begin to show up in pictures.
[15:36] Speaker 3: And that's why number three is vision.
[15:39] Speaker 2: You begin to see how you're supposed to help the world.
[15:45] Speaker 2: You begin to see how you're supposed to contribute to
[15:49] Speaker 2: your generation.
[15:50] Speaker 3: Again, this is tough teaching this because I can feel
[15:53] Speaker 3: it you.
[15:57] Speaker 2: You've been trained to get a job, pay bills, and die.
[16:05] Speaker 3: That's it. And that's what you're living for. You living
[16:09] Speaker 3: to go to a job, pay some.
[16:12] Speaker 2: Bills, and then die. That's about the life of a
[16:15] Speaker 2: human today. No significance, no importance, no value, no worth,
[16:21] Speaker 2: no contribution to humanity, no transforming your generation, no impacting
[16:27] Speaker 2: the nation, not making a difference in your community.
[16:29] Speaker 3: It's just get a job, pay bills. Die. What a
[16:36] Speaker 3: tragic human reality.
[16:40] Speaker 2: That's why it's tough for me to teach this because
[16:43] Speaker 2: I'm teaching against your culture. I'm teaching against your mental reality.
[16:49] Speaker 2: I am fighting strongholds in.
[16:51] Speaker 3: Your head that resist this very.
[16:53] Speaker 2: Statement that you were born for a reason that gives
[16:59] Speaker 2: you you're a conviction that you're supposed to see in
[17:03] Speaker 2: a vision. People capture this at different ages of their lives,
[17:09] Speaker 2: depending on the kind of culture they are in. If
[17:13] Speaker 2: you are in a culture where there is a lot
[17:14] Speaker 2: of positive affirmation and a positive encouragement, you'll find it early.
[17:21] Speaker 2: But if you are in a culture where people don't
[17:23] Speaker 2: believe you can do anything, and they tell you your
[17:26] Speaker 2: limitations constantly, and they remind you how you're not supposed
[17:29] Speaker 2: to achieve anything, and they reinforce how you are dumb,
[17:32] Speaker 2: you're not smart. You can achieve certain things, and you
[17:35] Speaker 2: live in that culture, you probably find it when you're seventy.
[17:42] Speaker 2: That is why you shouldn't miss when say evening, because
[17:46] Speaker 2: this place everywhnes say, I want to create an environment
[17:49] Speaker 2: where you'll catch it.
[17:50] Speaker 3: Now.
[17:54] Speaker 2: You have to otherwise you're going to live a miserable
[17:58] Speaker 2: life where you are basically in deployed and never deployed.
[18:06] Speaker 2: It's tough to find people with vision. By the way,
[18:10] Speaker 2: vision is purpose in pictures. I call it purpose and technicolor.
[18:15] Speaker 2: When you begin to see your purpose in pictures, it
[18:19] Speaker 2: is called vision. It's like a seed seeing the tree
[18:24] Speaker 2: with fruit on it.
[18:27] Speaker 3: That's vision.
[18:29] Speaker 2: The seed sees itself as a tree with fruit in it.
[18:33] Speaker 3: While it is a seed, that's vision.
[18:38] Speaker 2: Most of us are trained not to believe our visions.
[18:43] Speaker 2: As a matter of fact, we are conditioned to be
[18:46] Speaker 2: afraid of them, because your vision is a photograph of
[18:49] Speaker 2: your end. And the problem is, we believe our beginning
[18:54] Speaker 2: is our end. We are born in certain conditions where
[19:00] Speaker 2: we believe this is my plight forever. I have come
[19:03] Speaker 2: to tell you that the end of a thing is
[19:06] Speaker 2: greater than its beginning.
[19:09] Speaker 3: You're not supposed to die where you was born.
[19:12] Speaker 2: I'm talking about state state of life. Your vision is
[19:19] Speaker 2: your future address. Your vision is your destiny in photographs.
[19:29] Speaker 2: You have to see it. You have to see it.
[19:38] Speaker 2: Martin Luther King Junior, He's in this list right here.
[19:45] Speaker 3: I have a dream. I see.
[19:50] Speaker 2: The day coming when little white boys little black girls
[19:54] Speaker 2: will walk down the streets hand in hand. They won't
[19:58] Speaker 2: be judged by the color of their skin. I see
[20:01] Speaker 2: the day coming. You'll be judged by the content of
[20:04] Speaker 2: your character. He was seeing things. I wonder what you
[20:09] Speaker 2: see and by the way. Your vision is always about
[20:17] Speaker 2: the improvement of humanity.
[20:22] Speaker 3: True vision is never for private advancement. True vision is always.
[20:31] Speaker 2: Defined by the ability to improve other people's lives. All
[20:36] Speaker 2: true vision is about improving other people. So if you
[20:42] Speaker 2: have a vision of a big house, I see a
[20:43] Speaker 2: big house, that's not vision, that's ambition. Matter of fact,
[20:48] Speaker 2: it's called private ambition.
[20:51] Speaker 3: That's not a vision. True vision is always about people.
[20:53] Speaker 2: I have a dream I see the day coming when
[20:56] Speaker 2: little boys little cuss.
[20:58] Speaker 3: He saw other people achieving greatness.
[21:09] Speaker 2: When you see a vision, it becomes your reality.
[21:14] Speaker 3: Can you write that down?
[21:16] Speaker 2: A true vision becomes your reality. Now, that is when
[21:19] Speaker 2: you step over into leadership. Is when your future is
[21:23] Speaker 2: more important than your present. A leader is somebody who
[21:28] Speaker 2: you cannot live with too well, because they actually don't
[21:31] Speaker 2: live in the present.
[21:33] Speaker 3: They visit the present. They live in this world that
[21:36] Speaker 3: they can't tell you about completely.
[21:38] Speaker 2: They kind of tell you ideas, but they can't tell
[21:40] Speaker 2: you they actually believe in the future more than they
[21:41] Speaker 2: believe in the present. That's why it's called vision is
[21:45] Speaker 2: about the future. When a person captures a vision that
[21:49] Speaker 2: they believe more than the present, then passion takes over
[21:52] Speaker 2: their lives. Now, passion is important because passion is a
[21:57] Speaker 2: desire that is stronger than death. When a person believes
[22:03] Speaker 2: in a vision to the point where they are willing
[22:05] Speaker 2: to die for it. A leader is born. This is
[22:13] Speaker 2: very important. If you were to put Ben Laden in
[22:18] Speaker 2: that list, right, what would be the problem in.
[22:20] Speaker 3: That list with have been Laden? Can you can you
[22:21] Speaker 3: tell me? Just look at the list.
[22:23] Speaker 2: We got purpose, conviction, vision, passion. Okay, ben Laden had
[22:31] Speaker 2: what purpose? He believed that he was born you know
[22:34] Speaker 2: whatever in Islam? He had what conviction?
[22:37] Speaker 3: He believed in it so much that he thought he
[22:39] Speaker 3: was important. He had what vision?
[22:42] Speaker 2: He saw a vision of a country Saudi Arabia is
[22:47] Speaker 2: born without American influence, only Islamic influence.
[22:50] Speaker 3: That was his vision.
[22:51] Speaker 2: He saw a country with pure Islam. But he had
[22:56] Speaker 2: what passion? He was willing to what die? Well, so
[23:00] Speaker 2: what's the problem in that list with him? Is number three?
[23:02] Speaker 3: Isn't it?
[23:04] Speaker 2: His vision was not to help people, but to kill them.
[23:08] Speaker 2: So if your vision is to destroy human life, it
[23:11] Speaker 2: cannot be a divine vision from God. See this list
[23:16] Speaker 2: helps you identify where you are too. Is your vision
[23:20] Speaker 2: to have a big house and a nice car and
[23:22] Speaker 2: of a million dollars in the bank, then that's not
[23:24] Speaker 2: a true vision.
[23:24] Speaker 3: That's am vision.
[23:26] Speaker 2: Because I don't help nobody except you, So true vision
[23:31] Speaker 2: is about improving other people's lives, making them better, teaching
[23:36] Speaker 2: them to become great, improving them. So if your business
[23:41] Speaker 2: is not to improve.
[23:42] Speaker 3: Other people's lives, it's not a business from God.
[23:50] Speaker 2: This gentleman here owns an electrical company and it's mostly
[23:54] Speaker 2: an automotive electrical company, one of the big to talk
[23:57] Speaker 2: ones in the country, the longest I guess the Haman ownership.
[24:00] Speaker 3: Once in the country, what does he do with that company?
[24:05] Speaker 3: He helps people.
[24:07] Speaker 2: They come there and bring their problems to him, and
[24:08] Speaker 2: he sends them away happy.
[24:11] Speaker 3: So that's a legitimate vision. If I'm a drug dealer
[24:17] Speaker 3: and I sell drugs to your kids to destroy.
[24:20] Speaker 2: Their minds, I have a vision of becoming the number
[24:23] Speaker 2: one drug dealer in the community, right, But it can
[24:26] Speaker 2: be a divine vision from God because I'm destroying life.
[24:31] Speaker 3: Do you see the difference.
[24:33] Speaker 2: So always remember the true vision protects human life, preserves it,
[24:38] Speaker 2: promotes it, and advances it. So you check your vision
[24:42] Speaker 2: to see if your vision is going to help people.
[24:45] Speaker 2: Let me let me explain why this is important, because
[24:49] Speaker 2: if you help other people.
[24:51] Speaker 3: Get what they want, you will always have what you need.
[25:00] Speaker 2: And this is why giving is more important than receiving
[25:06] Speaker 2: at least meet a number five. Passion produces inspiration. Now,
[25:11] Speaker 2: people are inspired by your passion, not by your preaching.
[25:18] Speaker 2: People are inspired by your passion, not by your shouting.
[25:26] Speaker 2: What is passion a willingness to die for what you believe.
[25:32] Speaker 2: People are inspired when they meet someone who believes in
[25:36] Speaker 2: something so deeply that they are willing to die for it.
[25:39] Speaker 2: This is why, and this is the negative example. This
[25:44] Speaker 2: is why many terrorists, young people were willing to obey
[25:48] Speaker 2: in Laddin, because they say, he's willing to die for it.
[25:52] Speaker 2: He's willing to live in the mountains, in the caves.
[25:54] Speaker 2: This man must be really someone who believes in this.
[25:57] Speaker 2: Unbelieving this too, so they strap bombs on their bodies
[25:59] Speaker 2: and do exactly what he told him to do. Well,
[26:04] Speaker 2: he has a positive one, Jesus Christ. His first statement
[26:09] Speaker 2: of Disciples was they are going to arrest me and
[26:12] Speaker 2: they are going to kill me. In other words, my
[26:16] Speaker 2: belief is so strong, I'm willing to die for what
[26:20] Speaker 2: I believe because I want to save mankind. The disciples
[26:25] Speaker 2: were willing to die after that because he was willing
[26:27] Speaker 2: to die. Never asks a person to believe in something
[26:32] Speaker 2: you ain't willing to die for.
[26:36] Speaker 3: Doctor Mondoue. I want to open up a business. I
[26:38] Speaker 3: got a vision to open a business.
[26:39] Speaker 2: Okay, that's fine, good, So what are you putting into
[26:42] Speaker 2: it first?
[26:44] Speaker 3: You wanna borrow my money? What are you putting in
[26:46] Speaker 3: it first? I need five thousand dollars? Okay? So what
[26:51] Speaker 3: are you selling out of your house first? In other words,
[26:55] Speaker 3: if you ain't willing to invest in it, why am
[26:56] Speaker 3: I gonna be giving you stuff? Passion everyone's their passion.
[27:05] Speaker 3: Passion inspires people.
[27:07] Speaker 2: Inspiration is when you generate meaning in other people's lives.
[27:12] Speaker 2: When you give them meaning for their lives by your passion,
[27:16] Speaker 2: they begin to feel that they are doing something important
[27:18] Speaker 2: if they join you because it's important to you too.
[27:23] Speaker 2: When you give people meaning, they will give you their authority.
[27:27] Speaker 2: That leads me to point number six. It's called influence.
[27:31] Speaker 2: When people submit their influence to you, it is literally
[27:38] Speaker 2: them giving you their authority, which comes along with their resources,
[27:43] Speaker 2: which includes their time, their talent, and maybe even their
[27:48] Speaker 2: money that comes from influence.
[27:54] Speaker 3: Influence is an act of.
[27:56] Speaker 2: The influence, not the influencer. For example, Jesus told the
[28:03] Speaker 2: disciples follow me.
[28:05] Speaker 3: Now.
[28:05] Speaker 2: Follow is an invitation which means that they had to
[28:09] Speaker 2: make a decision to actually do it.
[28:11] Speaker 3: He didn't force them to come.
[28:12] Speaker 2: He just said follow me, and I'll make you leaders
[28:14] Speaker 2: of men, so they had to actually decide to follow him.
[28:19] Speaker 2: Influence is when people are so impacted by your conviction
[28:25] Speaker 2: of character that they are willing to surrender their authority
[28:29] Speaker 2: to your cause.
[28:33] Speaker 3: That's called following.
[28:37] Speaker 2: When people are influenced by you, then they call you
[28:42] Speaker 2: a leader. So leaders are made by the people. You
[28:46] Speaker 2: don't collect people to become a leader. You suddenly realize
[28:51] Speaker 2: that people are following you.
[28:52] Speaker 3: That's all. You are so busy pursuing.
[28:55] Speaker 2: Number one purpose that people are impressed by your passion
[29:00] Speaker 2: and therefore they become inspired by your dedication to your cause.
[29:05] Speaker 2: Do you influence them to believe in it so much
[29:07] Speaker 2: that they follow you? You turn around and say, what
[29:10] Speaker 2: are you doing? And you realize that people are believing
[29:12] Speaker 2: in you? So true leaders never seek followers. Followers are
[29:18] Speaker 2: attracted to true leaders. I didn't try to find anybody
[29:24] Speaker 2: the church.
[29:24] Speaker 3: To follow me, and I really didn't.
[29:26] Speaker 2: And you know that some of you been here for
[29:30] Speaker 2: a long time believing in this vision and my passion
[29:34] Speaker 2: and my desire to fulfill the vision of training people
[29:36] Speaker 2: to become great leaders. And that's why you come here
[29:39] Speaker 2: because you want to join me in that cause you
[29:44] Speaker 2: yourself want to become great obviously, but that's a good passion,
[29:51] Speaker 2: and I wonder, wow, where did they come from? True
[29:56] Speaker 2: leaders don't seek followers. Followers are a attracted to true leaders.
[30:01] Speaker 2: They are attracted to your passion and they are inspired
[30:05] Speaker 2: by your dedication. If you want your children to read,
[30:10] Speaker 2: for example, lead them how let them see you reading
[30:13] Speaker 2: books all the time. Whenever you put your time and
[30:18] Speaker 2: effort into, people will be impressed by.
[30:23] Speaker 3: Including your children.
[30:25] Speaker 2: So you tell your children don't watch TV, and then
[30:28] Speaker 2: they see you passionately at TV every day for five
[30:31] Speaker 2: hours watching movies, and they're like, you telling me not
[30:34] Speaker 2: to watch it?
[30:35] Speaker 3: How come you watched it all this time? And they confuse,
[30:38] Speaker 3: whatever you put your time into is what pure believe
[30:40] Speaker 3: is important to you influence. So that's how leadership works.
[30:52] Speaker 3: Here's a man that I take simplifies it. Now. I remember,
[30:55] Speaker 3: leadership is finding what a.
[30:57] Speaker 2: Purpose, a conviction, and a passion that it tracks other people.
[31:01] Speaker 2: Let's read a statement made by Abraham Lincoln, one of
[31:04] Speaker 2: the top leaders in American history. He freed the slaves
[31:08] Speaker 2: of America. Probably the greatest president of the United States.
[31:11] Speaker 2: It is what he said. He said, I quote, I
[31:14] Speaker 2: have said nothing but what I am willing to live by,
[31:18] Speaker 2: and if it be the pleasure of the Almighty God
[31:22] Speaker 2: to die by end quote.
[31:25] Speaker 3: Now read that carefully. Do you see it in there?
[31:29] Speaker 2: He saw a federation without slaves, when everybody had slaves
[31:37] Speaker 2: around him.
[31:38] Speaker 3: Members of his party.
[31:39] Speaker 2: Had slaves, political party had slaves. So he was going
[31:43] Speaker 2: against his own party, against the government, against the whole
[31:47] Speaker 2: machinery of Washington.
[31:49] Speaker 3: And this guy said slavery is wrong.
[31:51] Speaker 2: He believed it with all of his heart, to the
[31:53] Speaker 2: point where they shot him.
[31:55] Speaker 3: He was killed by a bullet to his head.
[31:57] Speaker 2: After the slaves were said free, they assassinated him.
[32:02] Speaker 3: Are you willing to die?
[32:03] Speaker 2: Would you believe? There's a movie that just came out
[32:08] Speaker 2: on Lincoln. Go and see the movie. It gives you
[32:12] Speaker 2: a little insight into what kind of man he was.
[32:14] Speaker 2: But this is what his statement was. By the way,
[32:18] Speaker 2: this statement can be found in Washington at the Lincoln Memorial.
[32:21] Speaker 2: When you go to visit Washington, go and see it.
[32:22] Speaker 2: If the whole speech is on the wall. This is
[32:24] Speaker 2: the part that I took of because they got me.
[32:26] Speaker 2: He described when he became a leader. This was the
[32:29] Speaker 2: moment he became a leader right here, when he said this,
[32:32] Speaker 2: I have said nothing but what I am willing to
[32:35] Speaker 2: live by, and if so be the Mighty God's will
[32:39] Speaker 2: for me to die by. He therefore didn't find something
[32:43] Speaker 2: to live for. Leadership is about finding something to die for,
[32:49] Speaker 2: the sacrifice for to to.
[32:52] Speaker 3: To do it out for.
[32:56] Speaker 2: Let me tell you something about about it. I want
[32:58] Speaker 2: you to understand leadership. Okay, Leadership is designed in such
[33:04] Speaker 2: a way that it will test whether you believe it.
[33:13] Speaker 2: And this is why all true leaders have to go
[33:15] Speaker 2: through hell before they experience heaven. You will never become
[33:20] Speaker 2: a multi million I tell you're being bankrupt at least twice.
[33:25] Speaker 3: Check all of them. They have a story. Because life
[33:29] Speaker 3: doesn't allow you to just go to the top. You
[33:34] Speaker 3: gotta swim to the top against the current. You gotta
[33:44] Speaker 3: mind go seed with a tree in it. What's the
[33:47] Speaker 3: first thing you do with the seed? You dig a hole? Right?
[33:50] Speaker 3: Why are you digging this hole? I won't go up.
[33:52] Speaker 3: Trees go up?
[33:53] Speaker 2: Yeah, but we can take you down first. Now, man,
[33:57] Speaker 2: a minute, I want to be a leader. I want
[33:59] Speaker 2: to bry to see me. Nope, we gonna hide you
[34:01] Speaker 2: under the dirt.
[34:01] Speaker 3: We gonna cover you up. No one wanna see you.
[34:04] Speaker 3: Wait a minute. I want to be great, yep, but
[34:07] Speaker 3: we gotta hide you. We gotta get rid of you first.
[34:10] Speaker 3: Do you really want to become great?
[34:17] Speaker 2: He found something to die for, Nelson Mandela to pitch
[34:21] Speaker 2: you on the screen. Yes, what Nesson Mandela said over
[34:24] Speaker 2: one hundred years later.
[34:25] Speaker 3: Let's read it together.
[34:27] Speaker 2: He says, it is an ideal which I hope to live.
[34:30] Speaker 3: For and to achieve.
[34:32] Speaker 2: But if it needs be, it is an ideal for
[34:36] Speaker 2: which I am prepared to die. End quote. He was
[34:39] Speaker 2: talking to the government of South Africa against apartheid. Do
[34:45] Speaker 2: you see those statements similar to each other. They didn't
[34:50] Speaker 2: know each other, almost the exact words.
[34:57] Speaker 3: They didn't know each other.
[35:01] Speaker 2: I remember the day when I said that, I said
[35:03] Speaker 2: something similar.
[35:04] Speaker 3: I didn't know. But these at that time, when.
[35:07] Speaker 2: I was the the subject of great criticism in this country,
[35:11] Speaker 2: they when they were about to mutilate me in the visionaries,
[35:13] Speaker 2: they told me everything except the kitchens inc And you
[35:17] Speaker 2: know what, I believe in what I was doing so much.
[35:20] Speaker 2: I remember telling my mother and daddy, I don't care
[35:22] Speaker 2: if they kill me. I believe in what I'm doing.
[35:30] Speaker 3: You know why most people don't succeed in life.
[35:31] Speaker 2: They ain't willing to die for what they're living for.
[35:37] Speaker 2: Look at that statement, I am prepared to die. Now
[35:42] Speaker 2: here's why that's so important. If someone prepared to die,
[35:45] Speaker 2: they are already dead. I am I right in their minds,
[35:50] Speaker 2: so you cannot threaten them with death.
[35:54] Speaker 3: That's why they become a problem. HM.
[36:01] Speaker 2: As long as you wanna live, you cannot really become
[36:05] Speaker 2: a leader if you are willing to go through the tests,
[36:17] Speaker 2: the tests of losing everything, being misunderstood, being abused, being
[36:24] Speaker 2: talked about, being criticized, being demeaned, becoming.
[36:29] Speaker 3: The subject of castigation.
[36:31] Speaker 2: If you ain't willing to go through that stuff, you
[36:33] Speaker 2: ain't gonna make it. It seemed to me that every
[36:43] Speaker 2: dream becomes a nightmare because it be before it becomes
[36:46] Speaker 2: a reality.
[36:48] Speaker 3: Can I say it again?
[36:49] Speaker 2: Every dream seemed to become a nightmare before it becomes reality.
[36:53] Speaker 2: You gotta go through this, this, this burial, this this
[36:56] Speaker 2: point of death, this point of of of return, and
[37:00] Speaker 2: then you return.
[37:04] Speaker 3: Are you willing to become what you were? Born to
[37:07] Speaker 3: do and be.
[37:10] Speaker 2: This is leadership. So here's my philosophy as a result
[37:15] Speaker 2: of this. Number one, true leadership is not finding something
[37:18] Speaker 2: to live for, it's finding something to die for. Write
[37:22] Speaker 2: that down. I want you to think about this for
[37:24] Speaker 2: the next three weeks. Think about your life, look in
[37:26] Speaker 2: the mirror, spend some time alone. Study your own life,
[37:29] Speaker 2: Study your passions, study your dreams, study the desires you
[37:32] Speaker 2: have in your heart to help humanity.
[37:34] Speaker 3: Put it on paper, look at it and say, am
[37:36] Speaker 3: I willing to die for this?
[37:43] Speaker 2: I am threatened every day on all sides by so
[37:46] Speaker 2: many different things and by some people. But it's too
[37:50] Speaker 2: late for me. I am sold on what I'm doing.
[37:56] Speaker 2: I'm willing to lose in order to win. You want
[38:02] Speaker 2: to be a great woman, a great man, you want
[38:05] Speaker 2: to be a leader as.
[38:07] Speaker 3: A young man.
[38:08] Speaker 2: You gotta buy into this that I have to find
[38:12] Speaker 2: something that I'm willing to sacrifice everything for, at least
[38:18] Speaker 2: the point.
[38:18] Speaker 3: Number two, true.
[38:19] Speaker 2: Leadership is finding a human cause words sacrificing yourself for,
[38:24] Speaker 2: and sacrificing may mean doing it out for a long time,
[38:28] Speaker 2: cutting back on things in order for you to fulfill
[38:30] Speaker 2: the vision in your heart, losing friends, cutting back on
[38:36] Speaker 2: eating out, driving an old car a little longer for
[38:40] Speaker 2: the sake of your dream. This is sacrificing as a leader,
[38:45] Speaker 2: going to prison, and that prison may be a job
[38:49] Speaker 2: that you don't want for a while, but you need
[38:50] Speaker 2: to keep it to get some money to keep going
[38:52] Speaker 2: towards your dream. Leaders are willing to go to prison
[39:00] Speaker 2: and be there for a while, like Joseph and then
[39:05] Speaker 2: emerge as prime minister, because he believed in what he
[39:10] Speaker 2: was convinced about. He saw something. He saw a vision
[39:14] Speaker 2: of himself on the throne. You know, once you see
[39:18] Speaker 2: your vision of the future, the present discomfort becomes meaningful.
[39:28] Speaker 2: You also know that it's temporary, so you never panic
[39:33] Speaker 2: under pressure. If you have a purpose on a vision,
[39:37] Speaker 2: you out last the pressure. The only thing that is
[39:44] Speaker 2: permanent in your life is your purpose for which he
[39:46] Speaker 2: was born. Everything else is temporary and what is purpose
[39:53] Speaker 2: vision and pictures, So you never quit under pressure.
[40:00] Speaker 3: If you know the way you are is not what
[40:02] Speaker 3: you saw.
[40:05] Speaker 2: Am I making sense? It is important. Sometimes we become
[40:08] Speaker 2: so discouraged by where we are we think that that's
[40:10] Speaker 2: a permanent address. But the good news is your vision
[40:14] Speaker 2: should always be the thing that guides you because it
[40:19] Speaker 2: makes you patient under pressure. There's a quote about Jesus
[40:24] Speaker 2: Christ that says this, for the joy that was said
[40:28] Speaker 2: before him, he could endure the shame, the cross, and
[40:33] Speaker 2: the pain. Why because of the joy that he could
[40:37] Speaker 2: see before him. He saw a visual of the future
[40:41] Speaker 2: that gave the pain. Meaning some of you going through
[40:47] Speaker 2: a tough time right now, and maybe God sent me
[40:50] Speaker 2: just to tell you hang on just a little bit longer.
[40:53] Speaker 3: This is a part of the seed posting through.
[40:56] Speaker 2: The soil, fighting the pressure of the soil, making this
[41:00] Speaker 2: way up to sunlight. You know, sometimes you grow in
[41:06] Speaker 2: and people don't know you growing. When a seed is
[41:10] Speaker 2: bursting and germinating, you don't know it, but something's happening
[41:14] Speaker 2: under the soil. Tell your neighbors something's happening to me.
[41:17] Speaker 2: But you can't see it right now. See if they
[41:22] Speaker 2: knew what you was going through right now, they wouldn't
[41:25] Speaker 2: believe you could smile like this. But the good news
[41:28] Speaker 2: is this is part of you manifesting yourself. You are
[41:31] Speaker 2: coming through the soil of pressure and by the way,
[41:34] Speaker 2: that pressure is weight on the seed. It's weight, but
[41:37] Speaker 2: the very weight has the nutrients. That's where you get
[41:45] Speaker 2: your nutrients from at.
[41:48] Speaker 3: Least the point number three. Read this and write it down.
[41:50] Speaker 2: True leadership is discovering the problem you were born to solve.
[41:56] Speaker 3: Now, I know this may be kind of difficult.
[41:58] Speaker 2: You know, one day I'm going to do a whole
[42:00] Speaker 2: course on this because people have difficulty with this, this concept.
[42:03] Speaker 2: But everybody was born to solve a problem. Now, don't
[42:06] Speaker 2: get me wrong. You know, problems are simply needs that
[42:09] Speaker 2: need to be meant. So you were born to meet
[42:11] Speaker 2: a certain need in humanity's needs. You were born to
[42:15] Speaker 2: serve a certain purpose in humanity. You were born to
[42:18] Speaker 2: do something that we need done. You are not here
[42:21] Speaker 2: just to breathe oxygen, eat food, and die. There's something
[42:26] Speaker 2: that you supposed to deliver to us that we need.
[42:28] Speaker 2: What we got to do is help you find it
[42:31] Speaker 2: and then refine it and give you the freedom to
[42:35] Speaker 2: serve it again. This is part of leadership. Moses was
[42:41] Speaker 2: born to solve the problem of oppression for Israel. Yes,
[42:49] Speaker 2: Joshua was born to settle the people in the land.
[42:53] Speaker 3: That's all. Get them into Jordan or across Jordan. Settle
[42:56] Speaker 3: them in the land.
[42:59] Speaker 2: David was born to established the city and the center
[43:01] Speaker 2: of worship Jeru Salam Yeru means city, Salam means peace.
[43:07] Speaker 3: That was a job, so you had to subdue all
[43:10] Speaker 3: the enemies.
[43:10] Speaker 2: So you look out of a headquarters in peace, and
[43:13] Speaker 2: that's what David did.
[43:14] Speaker 3: Then he died.
[43:17] Speaker 2: So if you study everybody there was a problem that
[43:19] Speaker 2: they came to solve, you identify the problem.
[43:26] Speaker 3: Your value is in the problems you solve.
[43:40] Speaker 2: Depending on the problem that you were born to solve
[43:42] Speaker 2: determines how much you are worth to your society.
[43:48] Speaker 3: People will pay you to solve problems.
