[0:09] Speaker 1: You're listening to Crowning Ignorant Kings, a podcast for citizens
[0:14] Speaker 1: with like minds who love God, follow Christ, and have
[0:17] Speaker 1: a desire to be an ambassador for the Kingdom of
[0:21] Speaker 1: Heaven on earth. We are John and Charlene Donaldson with
[0:25] Speaker 1: a teachers building a kingdom community. Thank you again for
[0:29] Speaker 1: joining us. Now let's adjust our crowns.
[0:35] Speaker 2: There are seven point two billion humans on earth and
[0:42] Speaker 2: the Creator created all of them to be leaders. That
[0:52] Speaker 2: is a shock to most people's experience and education. That
[0:59] Speaker 2: statement is every human being was created by God for leadership.
[1:07] Speaker 2: It's a tough statement to believe. As a matter of fact,
[1:13] Speaker 2: I know exactly what you're thinking after that statement. If
[1:18] Speaker 2: everyone is a leader, then who's going to follow? And
[1:23] Speaker 2: that question is also evidence that you've been successfully.
[1:30] Speaker 3: Brainwashed by a culture.
[1:36] Speaker 2: That is a result of fallen man, and that culture
[1:41] Speaker 2: has been perpetrated throughout history for thousands of years. We
[1:47] Speaker 2: are now experts at self degradation. We are experienced at
[1:55] Speaker 2: devaluation of self. We actually are afraid to put value
[2:01] Speaker 2: on ourselves because our culture says that's not something you
[2:06] Speaker 2: should do.
[2:07] Speaker 3: We embrace the spirit of.
[2:11] Speaker 2: Humiliation, not humility, and we somehow have been trained to
[2:18] Speaker 2: avoid responsibility for changing our environment. But yet God, God
[2:29] Speaker 2: is a good God. He created you to be a leader.
[2:34] Speaker 2: And I'm gonna, hopefully, along with Pastor Richard and the
[2:37] Speaker 2: other ministers that I have appointed, We're gonna take you
[2:42] Speaker 2: on a joiney to meet yourself. I know you know God,
[2:49] Speaker 2: but it's you I'm concerned about you. You know you.
[2:53] Speaker 2: Most of us want to know God, but our problem
[2:56] Speaker 2: is we don't know who we are. And so we're
[2:59] Speaker 2: gonna take you on a joiney the next seven months.
[3:04] Speaker 2: And I promise you, if you stay faithful, attend every session,
[3:09] Speaker 2: don't worry about anybode else. You stay focused, and you
[3:12] Speaker 2: follow the material, and you listen to the explanations. Something
[3:17] Speaker 2: is going to happen inside of you the same way it.
[3:22] Speaker 3: Happened to me.
[3:24] Speaker 2: I was changed when I encountered this reality that God
[3:28] Speaker 2: created me to be a leader.
[3:30] Speaker 3: That leaves me to point number two. Write it down.
[3:34] Speaker 2: The original assignment.
[3:37] Speaker 3: Of God for.
[3:38] Speaker 2: Mankind was rulership over earth. The original assignment of God
[3:48] Speaker 2: for mankind was rulership over Earth. Now this may sound
[3:52] Speaker 2: like a simple statement, even though we read it in
[3:55] Speaker 2: the Book of genesis, but you have to understand the
[3:58] Speaker 2: implications of it. God created you to be a ruler.
[4:04] Speaker 3: Over earth.
[4:08] Speaker 2: Things in the earth. This would make sense a little
[4:12] Speaker 2: later in the series. And the third introductory statement I
[4:16] Speaker 2: want you to write down is that leadership, and I'm
[4:21] Speaker 2: defining it here in a simple term for now. We'll
[4:25] Speaker 2: get into deep definitions later. But leadership is really the
[4:29] Speaker 2: capacity to influence the conditions and the environment that determines
[4:36] Speaker 2: the destiny in life.
[4:40] Speaker 3: I'm going to give an opportunity to write that down.
[4:42] Speaker 2: Leadership is the capacity to influence conditions and the environment
[4:51] Speaker 2: that you are in that determines the destiny of life
[4:59] Speaker 2: in that environment.
[5:02] Speaker 3: That's leadership. So leaders are.
[5:04] Speaker 2: People who influence conditions, and if you live in those conditions,
[5:10] Speaker 2: you would be influenced by them. Leaders also influence the environment.
[5:16] Speaker 2: They can walk into a room and change the atmosphere.
[5:19] Speaker 2: They can change the way you feel about yourself. They
[5:23] Speaker 2: can change the way you see things in your environment.
[5:26] Speaker 2: A leader has such an amazing capacity that they can
[5:33] Speaker 2: let you see things you couldn't see.
[5:36] Speaker 3: They can change the environment.
[5:39] Speaker 2: What makes them dangerous is they can therefore determine your destiny.
[5:45] Speaker 2: They can actually take you where they want you to go.
[5:52] Speaker 2: I think of the statement made by Jesus Christ, the
[5:57] Speaker 2: greatest leader in time and outside of time.
[6:02] Speaker 3: He said these words.
[6:05] Speaker 2: Leave them alone. I'm quoting him. They are blind leaders.
[6:16] Speaker 2: And if the blind lead the blind, he says, they
[6:21] Speaker 2: both have the same destination. They fall into the ditch.
[6:29] Speaker 2: Notice I am always intrigued at this statement. He said,
[6:34] Speaker 2: if the blind lead the blind?
[6:38] Speaker 3: What is he telling us? He's telling us that a
[6:41] Speaker 3: person can be in leadership and be blind.
[6:51] Speaker 2: He's not talking about physical sight, because I doubt you'll
[6:58] Speaker 2: follow a person who can't see if it's obviously.
[7:02] Speaker 3: He's talking about.
[7:05] Speaker 4: Lack of vision, lack of revelation, lack of understanding, lack
[7:17] Speaker 4: of perception, lack of intuition.
[7:23] Speaker 3: That's blind.
[7:25] Speaker 2: But what amazes me he says, if the blind is
[7:28] Speaker 2: in leadership, then those who follow that leader must also
[7:32] Speaker 2: be blind because they can't see that the leader can't see.
[7:43] Speaker 2: I think when you decide to follow someone, your face
[7:50] Speaker 2: question should be can you see?
[7:55] Speaker 3: What do you see? Where are we going?
[8:01] Speaker 2: So he's telling us that leadership is about destination. It's
[8:05] Speaker 2: about destiny, It's about taking people to a place. Leadership
[8:11] Speaker 2: is about movement. As a matter of fact, the word
[8:14] Speaker 2: lead is a verb. You cannot lead and stand still.
[8:21] Speaker 2: The very word has to do it move. So when
[8:26] Speaker 2: you say I am a leader, you're saying I move
[8:30] Speaker 2: things from a place where they are to a place
[8:35] Speaker 2: they haven't been. So this concept of leadership is built
[8:41] Speaker 2: into us. Let me take you to another statement. Write
[8:46] Speaker 2: this down our leadership mission. I'm gonna relate this to
[8:54] Speaker 2: our theme this year. What is that theme Kingdom Leadership
[9:00] Speaker 2: Transforming Society. In this first session, I want to set
[9:03] Speaker 2: this up for you to understand why you need training
[9:08] Speaker 2: in leadership, and why you need to learn how to
[9:11] Speaker 2: become a leader, and why leadership is necessary for you
[9:15] Speaker 2: to carry the Great Commission. The Great Commission is a
[9:19] Speaker 2: leadership commission. I'm going to read a few scriptures from
[9:25] Speaker 2: the Bible that relate to the Great Commission. He has
[9:29] Speaker 2: one found in the Book of Matthew. It says, and
[9:33] Speaker 2: he called his ten servants to him and delivered them
[9:37] Speaker 2: ten pounds and set unto them occupy.
[9:42] Speaker 3: Until I come.
[9:42] Speaker 2: Now. I gotta explain this. This is a parable Jesus
[9:45] Speaker 2: was giving about the ten servants that were given. They
[9:52] Speaker 2: were given resources. He was referring to the creation of Adam,
[9:59] Speaker 2: and he was talking from a parable that Adam was
[10:03] Speaker 2: like a servant who was given responsibility to take over
[10:08] Speaker 2: resources for a master. And he uses the term occupy
[10:16] Speaker 2: until I come. In other words, do business on my behalf,
[10:21] Speaker 2: rule this place for me until I come back to
[10:24] Speaker 2: check on you and get an accounting of how you did.
[10:27] Speaker 2: That's what the powerable is about.
[10:28] Speaker 3: He's saying to you, you are to be in charge.
[10:34] Speaker 2: This is why I named my leadership book that came
[10:38] Speaker 2: out last year in Judge, because I discovered that you
[10:42] Speaker 2: are supposed.
[10:43] Speaker 3: To be in charge.
[10:47] Speaker 2: When you occupy a place, that means that there's no.
[10:54] Speaker 3: Coexistence.
[10:58] Speaker 2: That's a deep word. When you occupy a place, it
[11:03] Speaker 2: means that ain't nothing else occupying it, which means that
[11:08] Speaker 2: you are in charge of everything in the environment.
[11:13] Speaker 3: So he told us to occupy.
[11:16] Speaker 2: Until he comes. What we have decided to do is
[11:22] Speaker 2: to coexist, so we make room for other influences. He says, no,
[11:31] Speaker 2: I want you to occupy. Let's look at another statement
[11:34] Speaker 2: made by Jesus. I call it again the leadership Commission.
[11:37] Speaker 2: We call it the Great Commission, but I'm gonna call
[11:39] Speaker 2: it the leadership commission.
[11:41] Speaker 3: And here's what he.
[11:42] Speaker 2: Says in Mark chapter sixteen, verse fifteen. And Jesus said
[11:48] Speaker 2: to them, go into all the world and preach the
[11:54] Speaker 2: good news to all creation. Go into all the world
[11:59] Speaker 2: and preach good news to all creation. This is an instruction.
[12:05] Speaker 2: We call it a great commission. He's commissioning us to
[12:08] Speaker 2: go and do something, to go into it all the world.
[12:12] Speaker 2: We of course will continue to learn more about world
[12:16] Speaker 2: as we go through the year. But I want you
[12:18] Speaker 2: to understand what this statement mean.
[12:21] Speaker 3: For it just says goal.
[12:23] Speaker 2: Goal is an initiation. He says, don't wait for anything
[12:27] Speaker 2: to start.
[12:28] Speaker 3: You start.
[12:28] Speaker 2: Start, don't wait for things to happen. You make things
[12:33] Speaker 2: happen in your environment. To do that, you must be
[12:36] Speaker 2: a leader automatically. Leaders don't wait. Write that down. Leaders
[12:42] Speaker 2: don't wait. What makes you a leader is the fact
[12:46] Speaker 2: that you initiate change in your environment.
[12:52] Speaker 3: I don't know how to emphasize this enough.
[12:55] Speaker 2: Leaders start things, They begin things, They initiate things.
[13:01] Speaker 3: That is what separates them from a follower.
[13:04] Speaker 5: The follower just follows the rules he met there. The
[13:11] Speaker 5: follower follows the trail he met there. The follower follows
[13:18] Speaker 5: the instructions someone else gives, but the leader creates trails.
[13:26] Speaker 5: The leader becomes the instructor of the environment.
[13:32] Speaker 2: So leaders don't complain, they change things.
[13:39] Speaker 3: Leaders don't murmur, they create change. I wish I had
[13:52] Speaker 3: the words to explain this to you.
[13:54] Speaker 2: The first word of the Great Commission automatically makes you
[13:57] Speaker 2: a leader.
[14:00] Speaker 3: It says go. That means you start.
[14:05] Speaker 2: Things. You begin things.
[14:11] Speaker 3: He's telling you that you can.
[14:17] Speaker 2: He's telling you that you get the capacity to stop things.
[14:24] Speaker 2: But we are not trained in our passive culture to
[14:30] Speaker 2: change things in our environment. We are so well conditioned
[14:35] Speaker 2: to behave by our historical oppressions oppressive spirit, that we
[14:43] Speaker 2: are afraid to rock the boat, even if the boat
[14:51] Speaker 2: is sinking, because we are mentally damaged. We are conditioned
[15:00] Speaker 2: to follow the blind.
[15:02] Speaker 3: Into the ditch. Go.
[15:06] Speaker 2: The next statement, he says us, into means engage the environment.
[15:12] Speaker 2: Into means get involved and integrate.
[15:14] Speaker 3: Yourself in the system. That's leadership.
[15:19] Speaker 2: Leadership engages the environment. And then he says into all
[15:24] Speaker 2: all means, every area, every aspect, nothing is off limit
[15:30] Speaker 2: to you when it comes to influencing the world. We
[15:34] Speaker 2: have been conditioned to stay in your place. If you
[15:38] Speaker 2: heard that, be seen.
[15:42] Speaker 3: And not heard.
[15:44] Speaker 2: Matter of fact, they will tell you eventually behave yourself.
[15:49] Speaker 2: And this came down to us from the colonial masters,
[15:53] Speaker 2: and we still hear them crying in our air stay
[15:58] Speaker 2: in your place, But he says, no, every place is
[16:04] Speaker 2: your place. Go into what all the systems The word
[16:08] Speaker 2: world means governing systems.
[16:13] Speaker 3: Areas of influence.
[16:17] Speaker 2: You cannot influence influence unless you are the influencer. So
[16:24] Speaker 2: for you to influence the area of influence, you've got
[16:28] Speaker 2: to be in a position to be the influencer, which
[16:32] Speaker 2: means that you are the leader. So we cannot carry
[16:35] Speaker 2: a great commission if we are not in the position
[16:38] Speaker 2: of influence. That leads me to my next point, and
[16:40] Speaker 2: that is he says, preach. Now, I wanna clear his
[16:43] Speaker 2: word up very quickly. This word is not a religious word.
[16:48] Speaker 3: Preach.
[16:49] Speaker 2: The word preach, used in the Bible, means to announce,
[16:55] Speaker 2: to to declare, or to demonstrate.
[16:58] Speaker 3: It means all three. Preaching is not.
[17:04] Speaker 2: A sermon of religious emotional encounter. Preaching is declaring something
[17:12] Speaker 2: you believe and you want other people to know, to
[17:16] Speaker 2: make an announcement that something is present and you want
[17:20] Speaker 2: people to recognize it.
[17:21] Speaker 3: That's what the word preach means. Jesus said, the.
[17:25] Speaker 2: Kingdom of God is among you. He was declaring something
[17:28] Speaker 2: was present. You call it preaching. Preaching is to declare.
[17:35] Speaker 2: So we supposed to declare things not only by our words,
[17:38] Speaker 2: but by our demonstration of our life and things we do.
[17:43] Speaker 2: And then he says the good news, the good news
[17:45] Speaker 2: referring to the Kingdom of course, so we know our
[17:48] Speaker 2: message is to go there and make this happen. And
[17:50] Speaker 2: then he closes the commission by saying, to all creation creative,
[17:58] Speaker 2: to all creation.
[17:59] Speaker 3: This creation means everything God created. Let me tell you
[18:04] Speaker 3: what he means.
[18:05] Speaker 2: He wants you to bring the kingdom influence back to earth,
[18:12] Speaker 2: to bring everything that He created back under the influence
[18:15] Speaker 2: of the Kingdom. You know, the Bible says that creation
[18:18] Speaker 2: is groaning. The trees are groaning, the animals are groaning.
[18:25] Speaker 2: The salvation of the earth is also part of our responsibility.
[18:33] Speaker 3: So the.
[18:35] Speaker 2: Creatures and the plants and the reptiles are waiting for
[18:41] Speaker 2: the manifestations of the sons of God.
[18:44] Speaker 3: They're waiting for you to show who you really are.
[18:47] Speaker 3: They're waiting for you.
[18:48] Speaker 2: To take charge so they can be under the right influence.
[18:53] Speaker 2: You know, the Bible talks about when the earth comes
[18:56] Speaker 2: fully under the kingdom influence, that the lion and the
[18:59] Speaker 2: lamp will be friends. Right now, they are not friends.
[19:04] Speaker 2: Lions eat lambs. But when the right environment comes back,
[19:11] Speaker 2: that means the lime of the grass. The power of
[19:17] Speaker 2: influence can change the nature of your environment. So a
[19:22] Speaker 2: leader can actually change the entire environment, including the environment physically.
[19:29] Speaker 2: Who spills the oil in freeport, men do not nature.
[19:36] Speaker 2: We put the oil in the ship and didn't secure
[19:39] Speaker 2: the ship, and the ship spills the oil, and the
[19:43] Speaker 2: oil kills the fish and destroys the barrier reef, and
[19:48] Speaker 2: the fish weep and the coral dies because we did
[19:55] Speaker 2: not preach the good news to the creation. Also, that
[20:00] Speaker 2: means we are supposed to manage the environment and not
[20:04] Speaker 2: damage the environment. Leadership saves even the environment, all right,
[20:13] Speaker 2: He says, go into the world. I wanna just talk
[20:15] Speaker 2: about this for a second and connect it to our
[20:18] Speaker 2: theme in John chapter seventeen, verse fourteen, we find these words.
[20:24] Speaker 2: Actually in verse fifteen.
[20:26] Speaker 3: Fourteen sets it up.
[20:28] Speaker 2: But he says that I am in the world, but
[20:31] Speaker 2: not of the world, and that you've been called out
[20:33] Speaker 2: of the world. In verse fifteen, he says, I do
[20:36] Speaker 2: not pray for you to be taken out of the world.
[20:43] Speaker 2: Jesus said, look, I'm praying that the Father will not
[20:47] Speaker 2: take you out of the system. Most of us have
[20:54] Speaker 2: been conditioned by religion to get out of the system,
[20:58] Speaker 2: to avoid the world, to stay away from the cosmos.
[21:02] Speaker 2: Jesus says, I'm praying against that. Now.
[21:06] Speaker 3: This is very important for leadership.
[21:08] Speaker 2: See notice he says, take do not taking them out
[21:13] Speaker 2: of the world, but that you should keep them from.
[21:20] Speaker 3: The evil in the system.
[21:23] Speaker 2: Is that possible? Is that possible? That he thinks it's possible.
[21:29] Speaker 2: He thinks it's possible for you to be in the
[21:31] Speaker 2: middle of Monck and no mud gets on you.
[21:36] Speaker 3: He believed that you can be in the middle of
[21:39] Speaker 3: corrupt people and be uncorruptible.
[21:45] Speaker 2: Ah, which means that you are in charge of your life.
[21:55] Speaker 2: Be in the system, he says, But keep them from
[21:59] Speaker 2: the evil in the system. And then he says in
[22:02] Speaker 2: verse sixteen, they are not of the system. He's talking
[22:06] Speaker 2: to his father. They are not the system, just as
[22:10] Speaker 2: I am not of the system. I'm not of this world. Okay.
[22:15] Speaker 2: I want to to show you why this is important
[22:20] Speaker 2: for us. U Jesus Christ did not leave the nation
[22:24] Speaker 2: in the hands of governments.
[22:31] Speaker 3: It took me a while to figure this one out.
[22:32] Speaker 2: I was in a meeting this afternoon with some leaders
[22:35] Speaker 2: of churches for about four hours, and they came to
[22:40] Speaker 2: talk to me because they want to get my advice
[22:44] Speaker 2: on how to influence this country. And the statement I
[22:49] Speaker 2: gave them that they grasped onto this one, I said,
[22:53] Speaker 2: somehow we have we have elevated the wrong government. Jesus
[22:59] Speaker 2: Christ did not leave the earth in the hands of
[23:05] Speaker 2: political machineries.
[23:08] Speaker 3: Let me read what he says. Let's read it.
[23:10] Speaker 2: He says in a book, go and make disciples of
[23:16] Speaker 2: what every nation?
[23:18] Speaker 3: Who's he talking to? Who's he talking to? His disciples?
[23:27] Speaker 2: The nation was left in the hands of his disciples.
[23:32] Speaker 3: Be quoted again.
[23:33] Speaker 2: Go and make disciples of every nation, Then, he says,
[23:38] Speaker 2: baptize them in the name of Jesus, and teach them
[23:46] Speaker 2: everything I have taught you. Now this is his instructions
[23:50] Speaker 2: in Kain are very heavy. Go and what make disciples?
[23:59] Speaker 2: If you make someone do something, what does that mean
[24:03] Speaker 2: you in judge you cannot fulfill that command unless you are.
[24:09] Speaker 3: In the lead leadership influence position.
[24:18] Speaker 2: Go and make disciples of every nation. Then he says,
[24:25] Speaker 2: baptize them. I'm gonna get in trouble, but I'm gonna
[24:28] Speaker 2: try this. Baptism is simply write this word down, initiation.
[24:37] Speaker 2: You are initiated into a belief system.
[24:45] Speaker 3: They got different words for it.
[24:49] Speaker 2: We have made baptism a religious act. Baptism is not
[24:54] Speaker 2: a religious act. It's an initiation. It's like, for example,
[25:02] Speaker 2: being accepted in a school and you go through orientation.
[25:08] Speaker 2: That's baptism. The Pharisees baptized, the Sadducees baptized, the Herodians baptized,
[25:18] Speaker 2: joined the Baptist baptized. Ready for this, Plato baptized, Aristotle baptized.
[25:26] Speaker 2: Socrates had disciples go and read your history.
[25:30] Speaker 3: There.
[25:31] Speaker 2: Their followers were called disciples. Baptism implied that I submitted
[25:44] Speaker 2: myself specifically to one master teacher.
[25:51] Speaker 3: I'm forsaking all the.
[25:52] Speaker 2: Other schools, and this would be my school of thought,
[25:55] Speaker 2: this particular poison. So you basically abandon the other schools
[26:02] Speaker 2: and you submit only to that school that you choose.
[26:09] Speaker 2: That was called baptism.
[26:11] Speaker 3: Now, if you were to.
[26:16] Speaker 2: Apply this meaning original meaning to the instruction, it means
[26:22] Speaker 2: to go into the system and make every nation. Your
[26:31] Speaker 2: disciple is everybody, says it, disciple of your nations. The
[26:37] Speaker 2: word disciple is the word student, he says. Teach them
[26:46] Speaker 2: everything I taught you. I wanna show how this works.
[26:48] Speaker 2: Write this down, please. I'm sh I this picture. I
[26:50] Speaker 2: love this picture of these little cubs being taught by
[26:54] Speaker 2: an adult lion. You know, the the dunk lion is
[26:57] Speaker 2: the leader, the leader of the l of the jungle,
[26:59] Speaker 2: and he's the leader animals, right, But look at his students.
[27:02] Speaker 2: They he is teaching them, She is teaching them how
[27:07] Speaker 2: to be.
[27:09] Speaker 3: Like her.
[27:14] Speaker 2: Lions don't associate with any other animals. Lions don't keep
[27:22] Speaker 2: company with any other animals. That is probably why they
[27:26] Speaker 2: are the king of the jungle, because they don't want
[27:33] Speaker 2: to learn anything from other animals. Maybe that's why Jesus
[27:42] Speaker 2: Christ says he is the lion of Judah, not the
[27:44] Speaker 2: dogs and pigs. They mix with other animals, But the
[27:49] Speaker 2: lion is a very strange creature. It never hangs out
[27:53] Speaker 2: with any other group except of its own kind. Now,
[28:03] Speaker 2: because the lion learns from the lion, and the lion
[28:12] Speaker 2: is the king, and all of us cough gotta learn
[28:16] Speaker 2: to be kings. You can't learn kingship from a slave mentality?
[28:25] Speaker 2: Can I add? Quickly you become like who you hang
[28:30] Speaker 2: out with. You take on the very nature of those
[28:35] Speaker 2: who you submit to, and they cannot teach you anything
[28:39] Speaker 2: that they don't know. Let's talk about our leadership commission.
[28:49] Speaker 3: Make disciples.
[28:50] Speaker 2: The word disciple is the word student.
[28:55] Speaker 3: Student. Everybody say student. Write it down.
[28:58] Speaker 2: Please, This is very important cause somehow we keep making
[29:00] Speaker 2: this word a religious word. Plato and Aristotle had disciples.
[29:04] Speaker 2: Go look on the internet, type in Socrates disciples of Socrates.
[29:09] Speaker 2: You will see it come up a big writing. They
[29:12] Speaker 2: all had disciples. Stop thinking that Jesus Christ is then
[29:16] Speaker 2: only want to had disciples or John Everybody had disciples.
[29:20] Speaker 3: Can I put it this way?
[29:23] Speaker 2: In the days of Jesus.
[29:26] Speaker 3: And in the day of the Greeks. The Greeks were
[29:29] Speaker 3: the first.
[29:29] Speaker 2: Ones to actually refined it, but they started way back
[29:32] Speaker 2: in the times of like Elijah.
[29:34] Speaker 3: They had what they call schools. A school.
[29:37] Speaker 2: Write this down. Was not a place, it was a person.
[29:44] Speaker 2: So you didn't go to a school, you went to
[29:47] Speaker 2: a person. The person was called master teacher. Write it down.
[29:52] Speaker 3: The word master.
[29:55] Speaker 2: In the Hebrew language is the word we translate raboni,
[30:00] Speaker 2: rabboni or rabbi. Rabbi simply means master teacher.
[30:05] Speaker 3: It's not a religious title.
[30:09] Speaker 2: It means an expert in an area of knowledge. So
[30:14] Speaker 2: an architect would be a rabbi in architecture. A mechanic
[30:20] Speaker 2: would actually be a rabbi in mechanics. It simply means
[30:25] Speaker 2: someone who specializes in a certain.
[30:28] Speaker 3: Area of knowledge. A lawyer.
[30:32] Speaker 2: Is a rabbi. Matter of fact, did you know that
[30:40] Speaker 2: the scribes were lawyers? Write it down. Write it down,
[30:46] Speaker 2: because don't you remember these things? So when you're reading
[30:47] Speaker 2: the Bible, be careful you're in the Bible says the
[30:49] Speaker 2: scribes and the pharacies were completely different.
[30:51] Speaker 3: They're different.
[30:52] Speaker 2: The Pharisees were experts in the laws of Moses. They
[30:59] Speaker 2: studied the Torah, the Penitude, They knew the missionar These
[31:04] Speaker 2: these guys knew everything about the first five books of
[31:07] Speaker 2: the Bible. They knew the laws of the prophets. These guys,
[31:10] Speaker 2: they were so they were called rabbies cause they were experts.
[31:14] Speaker 2: But theirs was in in those penitude scriptures. The s
[31:20] Speaker 2: the Sagiancees were lawyers. They call them scribes. They were
[31:26] Speaker 2: professional lawyers. They knew the law. They were also called rabbis.
[31:35] Speaker 2: John was eventually called a rabbi because he was expert
[31:43] Speaker 2: in this certain teaching he called the kingdom.
[31:46] Speaker 1: MM.
[31:49] Speaker 2: If you don't believe me, I'm trying to get you
[31:52] Speaker 2: to see leadership, turn your bibles to the Book of
[31:54] Speaker 2: Matthew chapter three. I wanna show you why John became
[32:00] Speaker 2: very dangerous to the other rabbis. Matthew chapter three, we
[32:08] Speaker 2: find these words concerning John. It says John began to
[32:22] Speaker 2: preach Verse one, chapter three. In those days, John the
[32:26] Speaker 2: Baptist came declaring, announcing, demonstrating, preaching. Remember those words, now
[32:32] Speaker 2: you know, don't make it religious. He's announcing in the
[32:35] Speaker 2: wilderness of Judea, saying what repent?
[32:40] Speaker 3: Why?
[32:41] Speaker 2: For the Kingdom of Heaven has arrived the king James
[32:46] Speaker 2: would say is at hand? An iView would say is near?
[32:50] Speaker 2: It actually means is here? So what did John preach?
[32:55] Speaker 2: That was John's message the kingdom? Son became a rabbi
[33:01] Speaker 2: of the Kingdom.
[33:03] Speaker 3: Was the word.
[33:03] Speaker 2: Rabbi, master teacher of this message. The Pharisees didn't have
[33:09] Speaker 2: this message. The Serdcees didn't have this message. They wrotin
[33:14] Speaker 2: didn't have this message. Everyone had their unique message. They
[33:18] Speaker 2: became master teachers, all right. Now, when someone became an
[33:28] Speaker 2: expert in an area of knowledge, it was called school
[33:33] Speaker 2: of thought. Write it down. School of thought means a
[33:39] Speaker 2: certain thought or philosophy that that person has as an expert,
[33:45] Speaker 2: the school of thought. Why would they call this a
[33:49] Speaker 2: school of thought? The thoughts of schools. Well, it means
[33:55] Speaker 2: that you can be schooled in a certain thought.
[33:59] Speaker 3: Idea.
[34:02] Speaker 2: I'm trying to explain baptism to you, cause the command says,
[34:06] Speaker 2: go and baptize everybody.
[34:12] Speaker 3: So John has a school.
[34:15] Speaker 2: A school has what students, So therefore they are called
[34:19] Speaker 2: what disciples seem to me it's his students. John had
[34:24] Speaker 2: a school. He didn't have a religious order. He had
[34:29] Speaker 2: a school his his his expertise was in this kingdom idea.
[34:38] Speaker 3: That's why they had a problem with him.
[34:42] Speaker 2: The Sadducees were experts in the laws of most in
[34:46] Speaker 2: the law, you know, the the the ceremonial law, the
[34:49] Speaker 2: the uh uh what to call those those laws of
[34:52] Speaker 2: the the hygiene laws.
[34:54] Speaker 3: They were very strict, you know.
[34:55] Speaker 2: They the ones who attacked the disciples when they said
[34:59] Speaker 2: you didn't wash your hand. Remember that that was the
[35:02] Speaker 2: if you read the BIB, the s dicese that said that,
[35:04] Speaker 2: not not the phiracy. This because these guys are the
[35:06] Speaker 2: law that they wanted, the strict, strict lawyers. They keep
[35:09] Speaker 2: the law. Now here's John with his school school of thought,
[35:22] Speaker 2: the same chapter. I want you to read something with me.
[35:26] Speaker 2: Look at verse thirteen. Then Jesus came from Galilee to
[35:33] Speaker 2: the Jordan to do what I can't hear, you, to
[35:37] Speaker 2: be baptized by John.
[35:39] Speaker 3: Now wait a minute, what's what's going on here?
[35:41] Speaker 2: You got Jesus the Christ coming to a guy's school.
[35:46] Speaker 2: I'm telling him, I am going to identify with this school.
[35:52] Speaker 2: I'm not going to submit to the Sadducees or the
[35:54] Speaker 2: Pharisees or the Herodians. I am going to join your school.
[36:01] Speaker 2: Why because I want your thought hm M. In other words,
[36:10] Speaker 2: to be baptized means that you believe in an idea
[36:14] Speaker 2: so much that you submit yourself to immersion.
[36:20] Speaker 3: Of the idea. That's why you become a disciple of Jesus.
[36:28] Speaker 2: When you believe in him, that means you just began
[36:31] Speaker 2: the school. A young man came to me the night.
[36:35] Speaker 2: He says, you know, Sunday, I gave my life to Jesus.
[36:37] Speaker 2: This young man right here now, I said, I'm glad
[36:40] Speaker 2: to see you.
[36:41] Speaker 3: Why he just getting started.
[36:43] Speaker 2: He gotta now sit and learn the ideas of the school.
[36:48] Speaker 3: What school? The school of Jesus Christ. When you say
[36:50] Speaker 3: you accept Jesus Christ as your lord, it.
[36:53] Speaker 2: Simply means you become a student of all of his ideas. Right,
[37:01] Speaker 2: So let's see what Jesus does. It said Jesus came
[37:04] Speaker 2: on to be baptized by John. John recognized him cause
[37:09] Speaker 2: they were cousins.
[37:10] Speaker 3: Remember, and John says, I know who you are.
[37:14] Speaker 2: You should be baptizing me. I should join your school.
[37:18] Speaker 2: M And Jesus said, no, it doesn't work that way.
[37:22] Speaker 3: You are the teacher. You are the authority.
[37:27] Speaker 2: Right.
[37:28] Speaker 3: I have to submit to you.
[37:31] Speaker 2: I want a whole city to know that you are
[37:35] Speaker 2: the thought.
[37:36] Speaker 3: I submit to. Whatever you teaching is what I believe.
[37:40] Speaker 3: That's baptism.
[37:42] Speaker 2: Now, God says, going to every system and get people
[37:46] Speaker 2: to do that to the kingdom. Was Jesus a good student?
[37:55] Speaker 2: Was John a good teacher? Let's find out. Look at
[37:58] Speaker 2: verse seventeen. Time has passed, of course, verse seventeen, same chapter,
[38:03] Speaker 2: Chapter four, Verse seventeen next page.
[38:05] Speaker 3: Everybody got it, Let's read it together.
[38:08] Speaker 2: And from that time forward, Jesus began to preach, whether
[38:13] Speaker 2: they preach Matthew four sevendeen the same words.
[38:19] Speaker 3: That his teacher taught, got it.
[38:23] Speaker 2: He repeated the same words, repent for the Kingdom of
[38:29] Speaker 2: Heaven has a right. In other words, you know you
[38:31] Speaker 2: are a good teacher if your students sound like you.
[38:35] Speaker 2: That's how many times they said to you, you must
[38:39] Speaker 2: be going to Malesmoro church. Now what they mean, what
[38:41] Speaker 2: they really mean by that is you sound and they
[38:45] Speaker 2: are talking about necessarily tonal language.
[38:47] Speaker 3: They're talking about content.
[38:48] Speaker 2: Your content sound like you've been under a certain type
[38:51] Speaker 2: of person.
[38:52] Speaker 3: That's a good sign that you are a good student.
[38:56] Speaker 3: You suppose to sound like your teacher.
[39:05] Speaker 2: So Jesus became baptized under John. By the way, I
[39:11] Speaker 2: ain't got time to read it, but he used to
[39:12] Speaker 2: read this whole passage, and even read the first Street
[39:15] Speaker 2: Chfic of John as well, where there there was a
[39:17] Speaker 2: a relationship between them. The Bible says that that ti
[39:22] Speaker 2: John one day woke up and said to his his students,
[39:25] Speaker 2: his disciples do not follow me any longer.
[39:28] Speaker 3: That's in the Bible, he says, follow him.
[39:31] Speaker 2: He turned his entire school over y to one of
[39:35] Speaker 2: his students named Jesus Christ. Sometimes we missed that passage.
[39:40] Speaker 2: In other ways, Jesus didn't have to go look for students.
[39:45] Speaker 2: John turned the s gold school over to him. And
[39:48] Speaker 2: then John went to prison and his head was cut off.
[39:51] Speaker 3: Remember that.
[39:51] Speaker 2: In other words, Jesus had a an entire school when
[39:57] Speaker 2: John left, he was the master teacher. He knew the
[40:02] Speaker 2: message and then the Bible says, And one day he
[40:07] Speaker 2: called his disciples to him little things y'all don't read
[40:11] Speaker 2: to carefully, and he chose from among them twelve to
[40:16] Speaker 2: be with him.
[40:17] Speaker 3: Otherwi was he had a big group, you all do understand.
[40:24] Speaker 2: Jesus Christ had a big school that John built turned
[40:28] Speaker 2: over to him, and out of the students he chose twelve.
[40:38] Speaker 2: Maybe that's why Jesus didn't have a hard time having
[40:42] Speaker 2: to convince Peter James, John Betholomew Matthew about the kingdom.
[40:48] Speaker 2: They were already in class. Yes, maybe he chose the
[40:57] Speaker 2: best students, who knows. But the Bibles that he chose
[41:01] Speaker 2: from among his disciples twelve to be with him, which
[41:05] Speaker 2: means that he had a advanced class. That's why they
[41:11] Speaker 2: called him what master. His disciples called him master, which
[41:15] Speaker 2: means Rabonai. Master Teacher. Jesus said, go into all the
[41:22] Speaker 2: world and preach the kingdom to what the nations, and
[41:25] Speaker 2: then he says, make them your desciples.
[41:30] Speaker 3: You cannot write this down, Please teach them.
[41:33] Speaker 2: Means that you have to be in the position of
[41:37] Speaker 2: influence to form the minds of your students. I have
[41:44] Speaker 2: three bachelor's degrees from university. One of them is in education.
[41:51] Speaker 2: I studied education for four years. I got three batches
[41:55] Speaker 2: the same at the same time, I used to work,
[41:58] Speaker 2: you know, no less than twin three credit hours year semester.
[42:00] Speaker 3: That was kind of weird.
[42:02] Speaker 2: I love to study. And when I studied education, they
[42:06] Speaker 2: had classes in education called educational psychology. Anyone ever studied
[42:12] Speaker 2: education education, And what they do is they teach you
[42:15] Speaker 2: the development of students, house how kids develop, and what
[42:18] Speaker 2: they learned at certain ages. So I know where you're
[42:21] Speaker 2: at right now, what you can and cannot learn anymore
[42:27] Speaker 2: can if you learned educator psychology and they they actually
[42:31] Speaker 2: take you through this process of understanding human development. Then
[42:40] Speaker 2: when I graduated, I had to take a extra semester
[42:46] Speaker 2: what they called teaching practice to be certified. And I
[42:50] Speaker 2: was based in a school in Tullls, Oklahoma, in a
[42:52] Speaker 2: high school to teach for a semester. When I first
[42:56] Speaker 2: joined the class, I was what they call a student teacher.
[43:00] Speaker 2: I was assigned to a veteran and that veteran teacher
[43:06] Speaker 2: had to teach me how to teach students. And the
[43:10] Speaker 2: first thing the teacher said to me, to be the teacher,
[43:14] Speaker 2: you must show them you are the authority. Can I
[43:20] Speaker 2: say it again? The teacher says, to be a teacher,
[43:24] Speaker 2: you must first show the students that you are the authority.
[43:32] Speaker 2: Go into all the world and make them your disciples,
[43:39] Speaker 2: your students. What's his instruction? His instruction is, can I
[43:42] Speaker 2: reverse it? Go into all the world and you be
[43:45] Speaker 2: the teacher. Teacher means the one who has the influence
[43:51] Speaker 2: to form the minds of the student. That means you
[44:00] Speaker 2: cannot be the follower and carry of that command. The
[44:16] Speaker 2: command of the Great Commission is you have to become
[44:20] Speaker 2: a leader.
[44:21] Speaker 3: So my job.
[44:24] Speaker 2: And Past Rich's job, on all of our jobs this year,
[44:28] Speaker 2: is to teach you. You are our student. We're gonna
[44:33] Speaker 2: teach you how to be the one in charge. How
[44:39] Speaker 2: to be the one when you show up, even if
[44:43] Speaker 2: you don't have the title, you're the one they look
[44:47] Speaker 2: to for direction in the environment you are in. That
[44:50] Speaker 2: happens to me all the time. Ninety nine percent of
[44:56] Speaker 2: places I go, I don't look for leadership. Sometimes I
[45:01] Speaker 2: try to come incognito. I mean they recognize me, it's
[45:08] Speaker 2: too late. I'm gonna show you how to become the teacher.
[45:17] Speaker 2: You cannot control the class if you don't have the
[45:22] Speaker 2: authority write this down. You cannot transform, but you cannot
[45:27] Speaker 2: influence transform society. Okay, that's fine. So now I gotta
[45:33] Speaker 2: figure out how to do that. First, I must become
[45:35] Speaker 2: the transformer. To become the transformer, I have to be
[45:41] Speaker 2: the one who is the influencer in the environment. I
[45:45] Speaker 2: didn't say that you have to have the title. You know, leadership. Ah,
[45:59] Speaker 2: there's a leader in side of you. I'm gonna prove
[46:01] Speaker 2: that the problem is it is smothered under the idea
[46:05] Speaker 2: that you are a follower m and the devil is
[46:11] Speaker 2: praying you will never meet yourself.
[46:17] Speaker 3: I ain't know what I'm talking about. Personally.
[46:25] Speaker 2: In a few days, I'm gonna be flying to a
[46:27] Speaker 2: wife six hundred people would be in that room in
[46:31] Speaker 2: the first class hotel six style hotel. Oh, eighty percent
[46:37] Speaker 2: of multi millionaires. They own so much and they invite
[46:42] Speaker 2: me for the last eight years to come and teach
[46:45] Speaker 2: them for four days.
[46:47] Speaker 3: They are my students.
[46:50] Speaker 2: What do I have that would make a multi millionaire
[46:53] Speaker 2: sit and take notes? I was born in Bay Towns,
[47:00] Speaker 2: sleeping on the floor. Something happened to me.
[47:11] Speaker 3: That has to happen to you. You know what did it?
[47:16] Speaker 2: Information?
[47:19] Speaker 3: I call it discovery.
[47:22] Speaker 2: The Bible calls it revealation, revelation right away, revelation down.
[47:28] Speaker 2: Revelation actually means to unveil. To unveil means that nothing
[47:35] Speaker 2: is new. Okay, let me let me let me show
[47:40] Speaker 2: you what I mean. I have this bottle here. I
[47:46] Speaker 2: hope I get it to stand up. Whoever knows hold
[47:50] Speaker 2: this up for me. Just hold it up.
[47:51] Speaker 3: Yeah that's good. Okay, I'm gonna veil the bottle. Camera.
[47:55] Speaker 2: See this.
[47:57] Speaker 3: Is the bottle still there. It didn't go.
[48:01] Speaker 2: So when the Bible says God will will give you
[48:03] Speaker 2: revealation revelation, it means that the information was there all
[48:08] Speaker 2: the time.
[48:11] Speaker 3: Oh wow.
[48:14] Speaker 2: The Holy Spirit comes into your life to simply lift
[48:18] Speaker 2: the veil to show you what was always inside of you.
[48:25] Speaker 3: That happened to me.
[48:28] Speaker 2: I didn't go anywhere to find Miles Monroe. It was
[48:32] Speaker 2: covered under culture, bad teaching, oppression, colonialism, low self esteem,
[48:40] Speaker 2: poor self concept.
[48:41] Speaker 3: It was smothered.
[48:43] Speaker 2: And then the revelation of God's truth lifted the veil,
[48:50] Speaker 2: and I discovered myself.
[48:55] Speaker 3: And I realized I was not who they told me
[48:59] Speaker 3: I was.
[49:03] Speaker 2: You cannot transform what you cannot influence, and you cand
[49:07] Speaker 2: of influence what you are not in charge of.
[49:12] Speaker 3: Mm You know, I don't want you to think in.
[49:14] Speaker 2: Terms really of titles and p power. You know, some
[49:24] Speaker 2: of the most powerful leaders in history were those who
[49:27] Speaker 2: were not in in position of with authority. You know,
[49:31] Speaker 2: Joseph was an interesting guy. Joseph was a slave, but
[49:36] Speaker 2: he knew who he was, he knew his gifting, and
[49:43] Speaker 2: when they brought him out of prison, he became prime
[49:47] Speaker 2: minister of Egypt.
[49:50] Speaker 3: He didn't get.
[49:51] Speaker 2: The title of pharaoh, but Pharaoh said to him, you
[49:56] Speaker 2: will be my father.
[49:59] Speaker 3: That's a the Bible.
[50:00] Speaker 2: Now, Pharaoh is a old man, Joe is a young fella.
[50:04] Speaker 2: But Joseph's expintise in a certain set of knowledge made
[50:10] Speaker 2: him the father of the Pharaoh. Right, we'll get into
[50:16] Speaker 2: that little later on. How your gift is what makes
[50:19] Speaker 2: you a leader, not your title.
[50:24] Speaker 3: Joseph had a.
[50:25] Speaker 2: Gift, the gift of being able to tell the meaning
[50:28] Speaker 2: of dreams. Pharaoh says, I want this man to stay
[50:31] Speaker 2: close to me.
[50:33] Speaker 3: He'll guide and lead Egypt.
[50:36] Speaker 2: I can't give him a title, but he's in charge
[50:38] Speaker 2: of everybody. See he influenced Egypt, by the way, In
[50:46] Speaker 2: case you forgot, the Bible says and Pharaoh sent an
[50:51] Speaker 2: edict out that all Egypt shall worship the God of Joseph,
[50:58] Speaker 2: Ladies and gentlemen.
[50:59] Speaker 3: That's called national transformation.
[51:03] Speaker 2: I rest my case. That is right, very bad.
[51:11] Speaker 3: Make a note of this, and this is very important.
[51:15] Speaker 2: Not only can you not transform what you doing influence,
[51:18] Speaker 2: but I want you to think about.
[51:21] Speaker 3: This responsibility we have.
[51:26] Speaker 2: This year, God told us I want you, through kingdom leadership,
[51:34] Speaker 2: to transform your society.
[51:37] Speaker 3: Now you see why. It's that a way.
[51:40] Speaker 2: You see why you can't really transform society if you
[51:43] Speaker 2: are not in leadership influence. So my job is a
[51:52] Speaker 2: exciting but maybe tough one, and that is to get
[51:55] Speaker 2: into your head HM and somehow introduce you to who
[51:59] Speaker 2: you really are, so that when you leave this place
[52:03] Speaker 2: in the next few months, you will be a different
[52:05] Speaker 2: woman altogether, You'll be a different man.
[52:08] Speaker 3: You begin to see that what they thought of you
[52:10] Speaker 3: was not true. Let me tell you something.
[52:13] Speaker 2: Friends, people ask me, how did you change? I tell
[52:17] Speaker 2: them I really don't know. It just happened, But it
[52:21] Speaker 2: really came through revelation. He unveiled me. It blew my mind.
[52:34] Speaker 2: I'm still trying to accept who I am because that's
[52:37] Speaker 2: not what they They didn't tell me that. Let me
[52:40] Speaker 2: show you this. Our focus, our focus this year is
[52:45] Speaker 2: in that document. We will lead national and spiritual change.
[52:51] Speaker 2: To do that, you've got to be in a position
[52:53] Speaker 2: of what influence. To bring transformation spiritually in a country,
[52:59] Speaker 2: you have to be in a position of influence right
[53:02] Speaker 2: in your job, in your workplace, in your home, among
[53:08] Speaker 2: your friends. Who is the leader is the question? When
[53:12] Speaker 2: you get together with your friends, who is the influence?
[53:15] Speaker 3: When you sit at the offices?
[53:16] Speaker 2: Uh a, I in that in that that mess hall
[53:19] Speaker 2: uh down there and immigration u Uh what who I mean?
[53:22] Speaker 2: D Are they the ones who influenced by you? Or
[53:24] Speaker 2: are you influenced by them? As a student in college,
[53:32] Speaker 2: who's the influence.
[53:39] Speaker 3: And I might.
[53:40] Speaker 2: I'm gonna show you something during this series. You don't
[53:43] Speaker 2: need to push yourself when you are in charge.
[53:46] Speaker 3: M You know.
[53:48] Speaker 2: Uh.
[53:48] Speaker 3: One of the scriptures this year is gonna be a
[53:50] Speaker 3: powerful scripture.
[53:52] Speaker 2: Uh. And that scripture is you are the light of
[53:55] Speaker 2: the world. One't even light. It never fights darkness. I
[54:02] Speaker 2: I getting ahead of myself. You know, yah to miss
[54:04] Speaker 2: Sunday coming.
[54:05] Speaker 3: But when you turn light on, light never fights darkness.
[54:09] Speaker 2: Darkness flees. He says, you are the light. Fich means
[54:14] Speaker 2: all do you do is yes, show up.
[54:18] Speaker 3: No fighting.
[54:21] Speaker 2: If you gotta fight for attention, you ain't there yet.
[54:27] Speaker 2: There's an air about a leader that becomes the impact
[54:32] Speaker 2: in the community. I'm'a teach you how to get that
[54:36] Speaker 2: sun you have inside of you, a great man that
[54:40] Speaker 2: no one knows about, and it comes through revelation of yourself.
[54:47] Speaker 2: So just what we gonna learn this year, I want
[54:49] Speaker 2: you to write this down. First, we gonna learn number one,
[54:53] Speaker 2: the original source of true leadership we got. I'm gonna
[54:58] Speaker 2: teach you that in this class because that is what
[55:01] Speaker 2: I learned that set me free. The origin of true leadership.
[55:05] Speaker 2: Number two we're gonna learn in this series what is leadership?
[55:08] Speaker 2: Because so many definitions I've studied and they didn't satisfy me.
[55:13] Speaker 2: Number three, we're gonna learn in this series how to
[55:16] Speaker 2: become that leader.
[55:20] Speaker 3: You can't just wake up on morning so you get
[55:21] Speaker 3: a title. It doesn't work that way.
[55:23] Speaker 2: Matter of fact, true leaders never really seek titles. Truly
[55:29] Speaker 2: leaders don't even seek followers. Followers are attracted to a leader.
[55:35] Speaker 2: They attracted to the gift. Number four. We were learning
[55:39] Speaker 2: this series the principles of leadership. There's some prinsips you
[55:42] Speaker 2: gotta learn. Some of you got great character, great personality,
[55:45] Speaker 2: but you haven't learned the principles, so you're still stuck.
[55:50] Speaker 2: Number five.
[55:51] Speaker 3: Six. Rather, we're gonna learn the qualities of a true leader.
[55:54] Speaker 2: And don't confuse qualities with qualification, which is number seven.
[55:59] Speaker 2: Some people got the qualities, but then qualified. Qualifications are
[56:05] Speaker 2: very different from qualities. Qualities are inherent.
[56:08] Speaker 3: Qualification must be learned or taught. You can be born
[56:17] Speaker 3: with a quality still not be qualified to use it.
