[0:00] Speaker 1: Remy is on the phone today for a first date
[0:02] Speaker 1: follow up, and he's getting ghosted by Tarika. So in
[0:05] Speaker 1: a minute, we're going to call her and see if
[0:07] Speaker 1: she tells us why she's ghosting and maybe get another date.
[0:09] Speaker 1: But first, Remy, how long has it been since you
[0:11] Speaker 1: heard from Tarika?
[0:11] Speaker 2: It's been about two weeks now.
[0:14] Speaker 3: OK, have you reached out to her?
[0:15] Speaker 2: I mean, at first I was reaching out, but no,
[0:18] Speaker 2: I've kind of gotten the point and, you know, held
[0:21] Speaker 2: back recently.
[0:22] Speaker 3: But why don't you tell us about your date?
[0:25] Speaker 4: Yeah, sure.
[0:26] Speaker 2: So we went out to a steak place in town
[0:28] Speaker 2: I really like. And then after that, we went out
[0:32] Speaker 2: for fro-yo. And then we even went out to a
[0:36] Speaker 2: little dive bar I really like after that. So I
[0:39] Speaker 2: don't know. It was a great night. You know, we
[0:41] Speaker 2: met up around 7. And, you know, by the time
[0:44] Speaker 2: I dropped her off, it was, you know, almost already night.
[0:46] Speaker 2: So great night. A lot of fun.
[0:49] Speaker 5: It is always weird to me when you go to
[0:50] Speaker 5: three different locations and then you get ghosted because at
[0:52] Speaker 5: that point you have a pretty good feeling that like
[0:55] Speaker 5: this person wants to spend time with you. Like you
[0:57] Speaker 5: had an out two different times. Did you feel like
[0:59] Speaker 5: she was super nice?
[1:00] Speaker 2: Yeah, she was super nice. I like, you know, we
[1:04] Speaker 2: talked a while before even our first date and like,
[1:06] Speaker 2: I don't know, we're both vibing really good together. And yeah,
[1:10] Speaker 2: just really weird that she didn't tell me anything was wrong.
[1:13] Speaker 6: Could it be like work or family related that she's
[1:15] Speaker 6: not like something's going on in her personal life?
[1:19] Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, she sounded like she really had her
[1:21] Speaker 2: stuff together, but, you know, it's definitely possible she could
[1:23] Speaker 2: have just gotten busy. But, you know, like I said,
[1:26] Speaker 2: it's been a couple of weeks, so I figured if
[1:28] Speaker 2: she wanted to go on another date, maybe she would
[1:29] Speaker 2: have answered me. But I really at least, you know,
[1:32] Speaker 2: want to know why.
[1:33] Speaker 5: During the date, Remy, did she give you feelings that
[1:36] Speaker 5: she liked you? Did she say that? Or is there
[1:39] Speaker 5: something that could have possibly happened that would have made
[1:41] Speaker 5: the date kind of take a turn?
[1:43] Speaker 4: Yeah, I don't know.
[1:44] Speaker 2: Like, so I guess the one thing is, I was
[1:47] Speaker 2: making like kind of some suggestive comments, like, you know,
[1:50] Speaker 2: because things were going so well, like, you know, how
[1:52] Speaker 2: much I like her and stuff. And it seemed like
[1:55] Speaker 2: those feelings were kind of reciprocated. But I don't know.
[1:58] Speaker 2: Maybe I pushed too hard. Like, that's the only thing
[2:00] Speaker 2: I could really think of.
[2:01] Speaker 5: But like, what did you say? What direction were you pushing? Like, oh,
[2:04] Speaker 5: I really like you. I can't wait till we get married.
[2:07] Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
[2:08] Speaker 2: No, no, nothing like that. But just like, oh, yeah.
[2:12] Speaker 2: you know, Oh, next time I'll have to do this. And,
[2:14] Speaker 2: you know, things like that, like, you know, kind of,
[2:16] Speaker 2: you know, you know, insinuating that, you know, this wouldn't
[2:19] Speaker 2: be the only, you know, date.
[2:20] Speaker 3: I think that's a good thing.
[2:22] Speaker 2: Yeah.
[2:23] Speaker 4: Yeah.
[2:23] Speaker 1: You can't think of anything awkward that happened or any
[2:25] Speaker 1: reason that you'd be getting ghosted.
[2:27] Speaker 3: Yeah.
[2:28] Speaker 4: I don't know. Like, uh, I don't know.
[2:30] Speaker 2: Maybe I wasn't dressed right. Like I was wearing like
[2:33] Speaker 2: corduroy pants or something. Maybe she was judging me on that.
[2:36] Speaker 2: I don't know.
[2:38] Speaker 3: Corduroy pants. I think corduroys are in now.
[2:40] Speaker 4: Ish. Ish.
[2:41] Speaker 3: Okay. So maybe you were getting judged on that.
[2:44] Speaker 2: I like them. I mean, I like them.
[2:46] Speaker 3: How tight were they?
[2:51] Speaker 2: They fit just.
[2:53] Speaker 4: Right, man. Okay. All right.
[2:55] Speaker 1: Remy is on the phone and he's getting ghosted by Terica.
[2:58] Speaker 1: So in a second, we're going to call her and
[3:00] Speaker 1: see if she tells why she's ghosting him and maybe
[3:02] Speaker 1: get him another date. But first, Remy, why don't you
[3:04] Speaker 1: catch everybody up on your date with Terica?
[3:07] Speaker 2: So, yeah, we went on the steak place. We had
[3:10] Speaker 2: frozen yogurt. You know, we went to a dive bar,
[3:12] Speaker 2: you know, all together. We were together probably for about
[3:14] Speaker 2: five hours. It was a great date. You know, I
[3:17] Speaker 2: texted her a few times after the date, but now
[3:19] Speaker 2: it's been about two weeks. Haven't heard from her. Don't
[3:22] Speaker 2: know if she was judging me on my corduroy pants
[3:24] Speaker 2: or some of the talent I was making, you know.
[3:27] Speaker 2: You know, hoping that we would, you know, it wouldn't
[3:29] Speaker 2: be our only date or anything like that. And, you know,
[3:32] Speaker 2: I'd just really like to hear from her again or
[3:34] Speaker 2: at least find out, like, why I haven't heard from her.
[3:37] Speaker 3: Okay, cool. You ready for us to call her?
[3:39] Speaker 2: Hell yeah.
[3:39] Speaker 1: Okay, here we.
[3:42] Speaker 2: Go.
[3:44] Speaker 4: Hello?
[3:45] Speaker 3: Hi, may I speak to Terica, please?
[3:46] Speaker 4: This is Sherry.
[3:48] Speaker 1: Hey, Terica, how are you? My name is Jubal, and
[3:50] Speaker 1: I'm calling from a radio show. It's called The Jubal Show.
[3:52] Speaker 3: Hi, Terica.
[3:53] Speaker 5: I'm Nina.
[3:53] Speaker 3: I'm also on the show. Hi, and I'm Victoria.
[3:55] Speaker 4: Seriously?
[3:57] Speaker 3: Yeah, seriously.
[3:58] Speaker 4: That's cool.
[4:00] Speaker 3: You listen to the show ever?
[4:01] Speaker 4: Yeah, I have.
[4:03] Speaker 1: We do a segment on the show called The First
[4:05] Speaker 1: Date Follow-Up, where if you go on a date with
[4:07] Speaker 1: somebody and ghost them, that person emails us to call
[4:10] Speaker 1: you up and ask why you're ghosting them.
[4:12] Speaker 3: Okay.
[4:13] Speaker 4: Okay.
[4:14] Speaker 3: She thinks that part's funny.
[4:17] Speaker 1: We got an email about you.
[4:18] Speaker 3: Okay.
[4:20] Speaker 4: All right.
[4:22] Speaker 1: It's from a dude named Remy.
[4:24] Speaker 5: Oh, no.
[4:26] Speaker 4: Oh, yeah. Yep.
[4:28] Speaker 3: Are you ghosting Remy?
[4:29] Speaker 4: Can I say yes or no?
[4:34] Speaker 3: Okay.
[4:35] Speaker 1: Yeah.
[4:35] Speaker 3: Do you mind explaining to us what that means, though?
[4:38] Speaker 6: I definitely put off messaging him back.
[4:45] Speaker 4: I'll put it that way. I put off messaging him back.
[4:47] Speaker 1: So he's not totally ghosted yet.
[4:49] Speaker 3: It's just delayed.
[4:49] Speaker 5: I should have just mailed him a letter at this point.
[4:55] Speaker 3: It sounds funny.
[4:56] Speaker 4: It wasn't anything like... I literally just got thrown off.
[5:01] Speaker 4: That was it. Like, it wasn't, like, anything. I was
[5:05] Speaker 4: just thrown off. Okay, so I couldn't stop thinking about
[5:10] Speaker 4: what happened when we went to get frozen yogurt.
[5:12] Speaker 1: Like..
[5:14] Speaker 4: I don't know what happened, but like he went bonkers.
[5:17] Speaker 6: Like he added everything like cookies and gummy bears and.
[5:23] Speaker 4: Sprinkles and the chocolate syrup and and the strawberry.
[5:27] Speaker 3: Yeah, it sounds like he was having a good time
[5:28] Speaker 3: at the frozen yogurt shop.
[5:30] Speaker 5: Yeah, it sounds like something I do, too. I know
[5:32] Speaker 5: he's spending 40 bucks at those places. The toppings are
[5:37] Speaker 5: so good.
[5:38] Speaker 3: I don't understand. It's hard to choose just one.
[5:40] Speaker 2: Right.
[5:42] Speaker 4: Well, it was my thought process, but I was like,
[5:44] Speaker 4: I was like weirded out. I was like, okay, this
[5:46] Speaker 4: thing is going to weigh 40 pounds. And I was
[5:48] Speaker 4: just like, has he never been to one of these places?
[5:51] Speaker 4: Like is this first time out of the house? Like
[5:53] Speaker 4: I was very confused. So I just, I guess I
[5:56] Speaker 4: thought about it like way too much. And then I
[5:59] Speaker 4: was like, well, I'll get back to him. You know,
[6:01] Speaker 4: I was still in my head.
[6:02] Speaker 6: And then I completely forgot to get back to him.
[6:08] Speaker 3: Okay.
[6:08] Speaker 4: You just forgot?
[6:09] Speaker 3: That sounds like something Victoria would do.
[6:11] Speaker 4: Yeah, 100%.
[6:12] Speaker 5: Obviously, you're judging him on having so many toppings. Does
[6:15] Speaker 5: that does that tell you something about his character or
[6:18] Speaker 5: you're just really not sure how somebody can mix cookies
[6:21] Speaker 5: and gummy bears together? I'm not really understanding how this
[6:24] Speaker 5: was like an ick for you.
[6:26] Speaker 6: Um, it's just like a lot. Like, I think I
[6:29] Speaker 6: was just stunned. Um, it was kind of like a
[6:32] Speaker 6: train wreck kind of thing. I was just watching it
[6:34] Speaker 6: and I'm.
[6:35] Speaker 4: Like, I just can't, I can't stop thinking about it. Okay.
[6:38] Speaker 5: Let me ask you this, Terica. This will help me understand.
[6:41] Speaker 5: What do you put on your frozen yogurt?
[6:43] Speaker 6: Oh, well, like the flavors coordinate, like I'll do like,
[6:46] Speaker 6: you know, two, three flavors that.
[6:48] Speaker 4: Like all make sense together.
[6:50] Speaker 3: But no toppings.
[6:52] Speaker 4: I'll do some toppings, but I'll.
[6:53] Speaker 6: Do like, oh, like, let's do like a strawberry and
[6:56] Speaker 6: a chocolate with like some fresh strawberries on it or
[6:58] Speaker 6: something like that.
[6:59] Speaker 4: That makes sense. Like I do a couple of things. Yeah.
[7:03] Speaker 3: No, no, I get it. Now her closet is like,
[7:04] Speaker 3: it's color coordinated. A hundred percent.
[7:07] Speaker 4: It is actually. Yeah.
[7:08] Speaker 3: See, that's okay. It just needed to understand. Ah, okay.
[7:12] Speaker 3: Why the chaos was throwing her.
[7:15] Speaker 4: Off. Chaos is a good word for it. Yes.
[7:18] Speaker 1: That's the reason that you're ghosting him is because of...
[7:21] Speaker 1: The topping's on its fro-yo.
[7:22] Speaker 6: I was just kind of picturing, you know, how like
[7:25] Speaker 6: there's those people at the like soda fountains that they
[7:27] Speaker 6: get like a splash of every single flavor in the cup.
[7:29] Speaker 4: Like that always blows my mind.
[7:31] Speaker 3: Okay, I do that too.
[7:31] Speaker 1: What?
[7:32] Speaker 4: Yeah.
[7:32] Speaker 3: Are you serious? It's a great little concoction. It's called
[7:34] Speaker 3: the Nina. I understand. You call them your name?
[7:38] Speaker 1: It's like Nina-ade, you know, like lemonade. But it's like, anyways. Terica,
[7:42] Speaker 1: thank you for telling us. I should also let you
[7:44] Speaker 1: know that Remy is on the phone listening and wants
[7:46] Speaker 1: to talk to you.
[7:49] Speaker 4: Oh, sorry.
[7:54] Speaker 2: So, yeah, I guess I kind of like, you could say,
[7:56] Speaker 2: a fruit punch of frozen yogurt. Like, you've heard of
[8:00] Speaker 2: the kid in the candy store? Well, I'm like the
[8:02] Speaker 2: man in the fro-yo place. Like, I just can't make
[8:04] Speaker 2: up my mind. So, I guess maybe I didn't want
[8:07] Speaker 2: to hold on the date. So, instead of deciding, I
[8:09] Speaker 2: just added a little bit of everything. Sorry about that.
[8:11] Speaker 3: I don't think you need to apologize for that.
[8:19] Speaker 4: I don't know.
[8:20] Speaker 2: You sounded pretty offended, so.
[8:21] Speaker 4: I wasn't. Okay, so clarification. I'm so sorry. I was
[8:26] Speaker 4: not offended. I was just blown away. Like, my mind
[8:31] Speaker 4: is just blown. Like, I don't think I had the
[8:32] Speaker 4: power to think after that.
[8:34] Speaker 2: You know, maybe sometime I could go out for pizza
[8:36] Speaker 2: or something, but, you know, I like to order a
[8:38] Speaker 2: lot of toppings on those, too, so.
[8:40] Speaker 4: I was going to say, like, how many toppings go
[8:42] Speaker 4: on your pizza?
[8:43] Speaker 6: Like, are you one of those people that puts, like,
[8:45] Speaker 6: sardines and peanut butter or something?
[8:47] Speaker 2: I can't remember. No, but maybe some sausage and pineapple
[8:54] Speaker 2: and green pepper and onion and Canadian bacon and taco and,
[8:58] Speaker 2: you know, pepperoni and black olives, green olives. So not
[9:03] Speaker 2: too many mushrooms, but not too many toppings.
[9:07] Speaker 3: I like it that way, too. I don't know. Remi
[9:10] Speaker 3: sounds a lot like me.
[9:12] Speaker 4: Well, at least like with pizzas, you can usually order
[9:14] Speaker 4: like a half and half. Yeah.
[9:17] Speaker 2: But yeah, so it was just a pro-yo, huh? I
[9:20] Speaker 2: was really kind of just wondering what I'm hearing from you.
[9:24] Speaker 4: Like, I wasn't really, like, ghosting you because of it.
[9:27] Speaker 4: I just got in my head about it, and then
[9:30] Speaker 4: I honestly, I meant to get back to you, and
[9:32] Speaker 4: then I just didn't. Like, that's it. Like, I wish
[9:36] Speaker 4: I had a better excuse, and I have nothing.
[9:40] Speaker 1: Would you like to go out with Remy again? We'll
[9:41] Speaker 1: pay for it. I mean, we'll pay for most of it.
[9:44] Speaker 1: I don't know how much his Froyo costs, if you
[9:46] Speaker 1: guys get Froyo, but we'll pay for it.
[9:48] Speaker 4: I mean, I guess the bigger question is, like, is
[9:51] Speaker 4: he willing to go out with me again?
[9:53] Speaker 3: That's fair.
[9:54] Speaker 2: Yeah, you know that uh pizza with the 20 toppings
[9:57] Speaker 2: is sounding pretty good now so uh that'd be awesome
[10:01] Speaker 6: Well i mean if you want a third date just
[10:03] Speaker 6: don't get the 20 topping pizza and we should be
[10:04] Speaker 6: good
